The show also highlights a powerful charity drive for Children's Hospital, featuring a montage of patient stories and an emotional account from Bob Bollinger about his daughter's brain tumor. The broadcast concludes with discussions on celebrity drama like Kid Rock and Pam Anderson's alleged miscarriage lie, and a humorous segment about a 'furry' panda mascot.

That would be phenomenal. We're talking to Debbie Harry. And, Debbie, that would be really, really cool. Eddie, how should we arrange this? After the interview, we'll grab Debbie and we'll tell her our address real quick. Yeah, let's do that. Okay, great. Yeah. So, Debbie, let's talk some music. Oh, okay. Let's talk some music. So cute. Talk to me about CBGB's back in the 70s, which is where Blondie was playing. playing and kicking some butt back in the 70s. What kind of place was it? It was just a little local bar on the Bowery, really. It was kind of a funky place. You know, some of the drunks would wander in, but pretty much it was a Hell's Angels bar. It was a Hell's Angels bar? Yeah, it was an Angels bar. I did not know that. And you guys played there and were pretty well-received. Yeah. I don't know if we were necessarily well-received by them, but... But you were well received enough by the music industry to sign you to a record contract. Yeah, yeah. It took a while, but, you know, we finally, the scene grew and grew and became, you know, became a musical entity of its own. It really sort of became a revolution in sort of taste or trends in the States. And this is a question that I wanted to ask you. How many people...
still believe that your name is actually Blondie? Right. I don't know. Do I have to? I don't think I really know that answer. Do you still get people thinking that your name is Blondie? I get a lot of things. I get blonde. I get Blondie. Yeah, Debbie Blondie. A little variety, you know, all different versions of that. Debbie, do you like hearing the music on the radio, or are you an artist that when it comes on, you change the station? I guess it really depends on my mood. Sometimes I'm very happy to hear it, and I get very sort of critical. I think about the production value and how it's coming across on the small speakers. And, you know, sometimes I go, oh, I can't hear it one more time. I've got to turn it off. You know. It just depends. Is there one song that when you hear it, you generally are not critical and enjoy listening to it? No. They're all different, and you have a different reaction to them depending on the mood, huh? Yeah. You know how it is. Sometimes you're very sort of microscopic about your own stuff, you know? I don't know how you are, but I mean, do you turn on and listen to yourself on the radio?
On the weekends, it's funny that you ask that because on the weekends we do something called The Best of the Mikey Show where we play the stuff from the week. And it's a good opportunity for me to critique myself and try to get better. But your stuff, it's like it's a spot in time. It's already done. You know what I mean? Yeah, I do. You did it. You done it. And that's that. But I don't see I'm thinking about it from. from a fan's perspective, and I'm going, what are you critical of? It's all great. They're all hits, you know? I mean, they're big smash hits. Well, you know, that's my job, and if I didn't really listen like that, I mean, it's not like I'm critiquing the song or, you know, the idea of the song. The songs are good. Otherwise, we wouldn't have... But I listened to different aspects of it, you know, composition, instrumentation, the balances, you know, in and out, blah, blah, blah, that kind of stuff, tech talk. I got to ask you, because when we said that you were coming on the air, we got a lot of e-mails from listeners. I said, don't run. No way. Opposite.
They said you've got to ask about the dust-up with the bandmates at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. What happened? Oh, gosh. I should have wore gloves, huh? Yeah. What was the deal? It wasn't really supposed to happen like that. That's really all I can say. And I think it's occasions like that. Maybe drinks should never be served. Oh, no. Oh, yeah. Was it presented to you like... Hey, well, this is how I should ask it. How was it presented to you? Which, what? The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. How was the night presented to you by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? What were you told would go down? Oh, that we would go up there and we would get our awards and then we would play. Okay. Quite simply. The old members or the new members? Well, the old members were sort of...
demanding to play, but since they hadn't been playing in the band for many, many years, it didn't seem like sort of the best thing. Well, it would be disrespectful to the new band members. The whole situation is a little uncomfortable, so I don't know. It just played out the way it played out. Have you talked to any of those guys since then? No. Uh-uh. It is what it is, right? Yeah, no. No, we sort of had a parting of the ways many years, like back in the 80s. So, I mean, it wasn't as if there was any kind of relationship, ongoing relationship at all. And so I really don't want to go into all the grim details. I don't want to talk about it anymore anyway. I'm tired. Okay. Eddie? Debbie, Blondie's music was punk. It was reggae. It was pop. It had all these different influences. How do you categorize Blondie's music? I guess pop, really. Pop, rock, rock, pop. Very urban, I guess. We all grew up with a lot of different influences and a lot of different tastes. But I think a lot of the things that we did to combine...
You know, the different styles of music, you know, like Heart of Glass, Tide is High, Rapture, really was Chris Stein. He wanted to sort of break some ground, you know, bend some ideas, you know, put some things together that weren't usually heard together. And that's what we did. I don't know if this will make you feel cool, but there's this guy on our show, Sean. He's our sound effects guy. He's big-time 80s, big-time blondie. As you're talking and saying all this stuff, it's like he's soaking up every word that you're saying like it's a piece of bread and he's sopping it up. He just, he's so into it. Well, when you appreciate someone's music, you know, I mean, you want to, you really want to know what their thinking is behind it. You want to hear what they have to say. What's your take on that, Debbie? Is it really cool or is it creepy? I'm a sponge. I am a sponge, too. I absorb everything. I think that's why our music was so...
such a combination of things, is that, you know, I grew up listening to radio and hearing all this kind of, all this great music, this great blend of sounds, you know, and, you know, all these different styles of music. And so, you know, that's sort of what happens. It's evolution, really. You listen to anything new on the radio these days? Yeah. What do you like? Well, I really like the MIA record now, the MIA CD. I do not. I am out of it. I don't know what that is. What kind of music? Oh, it's great. It's rock. It's really hip. It's really good. And it's like rock that they're playing on the active rock stations? Teach me. This one song I really like is called Paper Planes, and it has a reference to Straight to Hell by The Clash as a sample of it. I think you'd really like it. That's cool. Yeah. Well, Debbie, I definitely want to put you on hold because I would really love to do the thing with the CDs and help raise money for Children's Hospital. If you are willing to do that, that's really nice of you. Oh, no, I'd love to do that. That's very cool. Thanks for taking the time to talk to us. I'm going to put you on hold and we'll get some information, okay? Well, thanks for your support and continue on with this great charity effort. And after this, I hope you can sleep. Yeah.
Me too. Me too. Hang on the line, okay? Okay, bye. Okay, I love you. Hang on. Hang on, Debbie. Don't go anywhere. Don't go anywhere, Debbie. Bye. Don't go anywhere. Okay. Hang on. Hang on. I am so sleepy. Uh-huh. I know what the deal's going to be. It's going to be hard for me to fall asleep. Yeah. It's going to be really hard for me to fall asleep. If at all. Yeah. Last year, I don't think you fell asleep afterward. It took me a long time, and it was one of those deals where I was never really sleeping. You guys know what I'm talking about? Yep. Like you were half in and out, or you kept waking up? One of those deals where you can genuinely say, yeah, I was asleep for four or five hours, but I was never, in that four or five hour period, I was never actually sleeping. I was always aware. You know what's weird, man? It's like Murphy's Law. That phone only rings when you don't want it to. Oh, yeah. And you turn the phones off in your room and you hear them from the baby's room or whatever. Right. Or you hear them from downstairs or something, you know, or ding dong, ding dong. That's what I was going to say. This past week, they've happened to me like twice with the doorbell. And you know what it is? It's like...
the Church of Latter-day Saints stopping by that particular, like they aren't there for four years, and that particular day they're stopping by. All of a sudden somebody wants to sell you shutters. Yes, exactly. And you're like, no, thank you. Please let me sleep. Leave her alone. Leave her alone. Just leave her alone. Yeah. Perfect. Thank you very much, guys. I really appreciate that. You're welcome, Junior. You are appreciated for saying you're welcome and recognizing the thing that I was doing there. How are your voices feeling? Mine is shot. Yeah, mine's toast. Absolute toast. It's toast. What are you doing? You're spilling everywhere. Oh, Eddie, what are you doing? Eddie, why are you spilling everywhere? Drippage. What are you spilling, Eddie? You can spill if you want. You're a grown-ass man. Shut up. Shut up. Hey, I got to play this clip. It's from Desperate Housewives, and apparently it's a racial slur. Oh, yeah. I heard about this. Filipino medical practitioners are really upset over this clip from Desperate Housewives. And that's one group you don't want to get fired up.
No way. The Filipino medical practitioners of America. Cut eight. Susan, I know for a lot of women, the word menopause has negative connotations. They hear aging, brittle bones, loss of sexual desire. Okay, before we go any further, can I check those diplomas? Because I would just like to make sure that they're not from some med school in the Philippines. No, she didn't. Uh-uh. Well, in context, that sounds pretty normal. Med school in the Philippines? How dare she? It doesn't sound like a... What is she saying about med schools in the Philippines, Mike? That they're junkies. Yeah, that they're bad. Yeah, that they're like, you know, second rate. They probably are. Well, you don't know that. I don't know that. That's my perception. If my perception's wrong, then I need a Filipino practitioner to be like, no, man, the hospitals in Manila are like the top...
Only the best. American doctors are trying to get through UCLA Medical School just so they can get to Manila. Right. If that's the deal, listen, I stand corrected. Most of our doctors do go through the Manila system. School of Medicine, yes. The Manila School of Medicine. Well, I guess they got some angry calls and also an online petition was started demanding an apology. So ABC and the producers of the show have offered their sincerest apologies for any offense. ABC says it's considering editing the episode for reruns. ABC, what about this? See, you know why? It's because it's ABC and not NBC. Because if it were NBC, they'd send Keith Morrison on the next plane to Manila to investigate exactly what's doing in the medical community in Manila. And while they thought they were sterilizing.
Some things didn't seem to be as sterilized as they thought. And while they were getting upset at this episode of Desperate Housewives, well, what they were forgetting was that they had a patient still waiting in one of these waiting rooms. In fact, it was waiting room C. And when we checked on waiting room C, there was no one there. Hey, listen, who knows, man? Maybe Manila's great and the hospital system's great. What do we know? That's what they're trying to tell us. They're trying to say, take a breath, ABC. I partied there in the 90s. It's not that good. No. Really? Is that where you got your degree? Duh. How about your residency? Is that where you did that? Do you do your residency there? What are you guys talking about? You're a doctor. You're a doctor. I'm not a doctor. What? You're a doctor of oncology at the University of Pacoima. But you just removed my appendix like an hour ago. Well, you don't need to be a doctor for that. And that wasn't your appendix. Oh. The subject is Danny Bonaduce. Says, hey, Mikey, the person I feel bad for in this whole thing is Danny Bonaduce. He's got red hair. Try dealing with that. Wait a second. That's their point? Good point.
Well, look at Carrot Top. I mean, you know, these guys, they go bad really quickly. That's a dude, Rob. It is? Yeah, what? Yeah, tell him, Mike. Yes. Regards, Carrot Top. Hey, guys, I donated $60 yesterday morning when you guys were talking about the donations. After hearing everything this morning, I had to donate another $60. Thank you for everything you're doing. I wish I had more to donate. Love you guys, signed P1Broot. Donate that money, man. Go to MikeyShow.com. Let's donate some dough. Dear Mikey Show, I hate how wonderful you choose to be. I woke up yesterday with you at 6, and...
bought a portable radio to listen to you all day long at work and throughout the evening. I finally fell asleep last night at 3.30 a.m. laughing at Boston Rob's take on things and bristfully woke up at 6 a.m. for work, and I'm still listening. I've listened to the last three 28-hour shows, and after every one, I immediately miss having you guys on the air to enjoy. Your wonderful wackiness and quirky quips bring joy and happiness to countless people all over this great city. And I wanted to thank you for every second of airtime spent with your devoted P1s. And the fact that you can take on this massive undertaking for such a great charity makes all of you truly godsend. And I can't wait for an even bigger, better 28-hour show next year and hope you have a great rest. I know it. Like that? This will make you happy. What am I seeing? Can you see out that window? Can you see what's out that window? That's my honey and my baby. See? That's my baby and my baby. That'll keep you going. Baby's mama. Baby's mama. He is the baby. He is the baby. He is the baby. He is the baby. He is the baby. He is the baby. He is the baby. Oh, look at those little clothes. Can you go let them in, Seth? Those little jambkins.
She's a baby. She's a baby. Baby. Dude, so the La Jolla Cinkel story is now, like, the front main story on CNN.com. Really? With the big story with, like, the picture and everything. Now, it's weird because earlier it was, like, the seventh story down. Mm-hmm. And now the story is slow avalanche gobbles road homes in California. It's just weird, man. It was way down on their list, and now it's the main thing you're seeing. Developing story, it says. Yeah, and I think when the story first broke yesterday, it was like, oh, a handful of homes will have to be evacuated. Well, they're now saying over 100 homes are now going to have to be evacuated. Right. That's a lot of people and a lot of expensive homes. Yeah, it is. You know, I can't get a handle on exactly where it is. I really can't. Oh, yeah, you're asking the wrong girl. Eddie, do you get it? Mount Soledad? I think so. I can't figure it out. Yeah. Mount Soledad, but not really sure where. Hey, Mark Fabiani's on KUSI right now. This village on the site next to the stadium. Mark Fabiani is the chief counsel for the San Diego Chargers. The same San Diego Chargers, by the way, who have been turned down by the city of Chula Vista. Or, no, no, no, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry. I apologize. What happened?
Not the city of Chula Vista. The city of Oceanside. Sorry. Don't hurt me. The Oceanside City Council decided yesterday that they will not continue to be in the running for the Chargers. So now the only local city left is Chula Vista in the running. So I guess the city council did a marketing study that showed that an office complex that was going to be built next to the stadium wouldn't bring in enough money to help pay for the stadium. So they just said, you know what, we back out. So no Oceanside. Wow. It's kind of all on the shoulders of Chula Vista to make this happen. What's the matter with Jake? He doesn't like you. He's hungry. He's hungry? Can you feed him in here? Okay, cool. What's the matter, bub? Are you hungry? Are you hungry? Is he eating food or a bottle? Poor guy's hungry. I can relate, dude. Let's see. This is old. Or no, it isn't. Today's October 4th, right? What day is it? Today is the 4th. It's a Thursday. Do you want to eat? Yeah, but let's do a couple of these. You know what we should do? Can we do one of these? Up here, one of our classic things to let people hear it? Yeah. Can we do that? Yeah. How about we play you something that we like to call Tough Love With Eddie?
Thank goodness. Thank goodness. This is for you, Sky. You're making a dedication? I'm dedicating this tough love to that young lady sitting right across from me. I reject your dedication. How do you reject a dedication? I don't know, but I just did. This one goes out to Sky and Rabbi Goldstein. Her favorite guy. Her favorite. She's a big fan. She loves those crazy martial arts Hasidic Jews. That's her favorite person. In the office tomorrow, we're going to see a poster of a Hasidic Jew in a karate chop, like, pose. All her morals and beliefs go out the windows if it's a crazy, martial art, ass-kicking Hasidic Jew. Please stop. I don't even believe he's a Hasidic Jew. If a Jewish guy is like, let's bone some chicks with big ones, the guy's like, hey, you know what? Usually I don't go for that kind of talk.
But after all, you are a rabbi. And that's cool. I think it's cool that you think like a normal guy. A pig. I didn't say it was cool. An a-hole. I'm all in on that. Let's heal the community. Thank you. Now here's the deal. If you're new to the Mikey show, my boy Eddie has been my best friend over 20 years, and if there's one thing he can do, it's... Dish out the real dirt. Yeah. Tell it like it is, dude. Tell it like it is. And so you can write us. Go to MikeyShow.com, write us for advice, and Eddie will answer. Our first letter reads, Dear Eddie, just wanted to let you know that you're most likely responsible for me and my husband splitting up. I heard you specifically make a joke about a woman being fat this week. I don't remember what it was specifically. My husband thought it was funny,
And we got into an argument about it, and it led to us not talking, which led to us separating. I sure hope you're happy with the knowledge that you split two happy people up. That is signed, Renee in Mission Valley. Eddie? You're dumb, fat chick. Can the Amy Lee approach to bluntness? Why mess around, right? And now on to Fatty Fatty 2x4. Come on. You think I'd leave out the candy? I don't know why the kids come to the ballpark. What are you talking about? I'm going to give you a little more so at least. Please stop. Look, dummy. First of all, the topic you don't remember was the phone call about the guy who already told his skinny wife she needed to lose weight. And I defended.
Her. That's right. Not him. That's right. Oh, I hate this. Now, if Amy Lee wrote a song about you, it'd be called Call Me When You're Not Stupid. Call me when you're not getting separated isn't already taken. I mean, anyone stupid enough to blame their failed marriage on a radio show probably should not have been married in the first place, okay? Now, does this victim have a name? I'm talking about your husband, of course. What do you know? I mean, if Jeff and Jer hear about him, they're probably going to open up Billy's house or whatever his name is. You know, a safe house for men getting out of relationships with idiots. Okay. Maybe we can call it Idiot's House, Skye. We don't know what to happen. Technically, that's what he is for seeing something in your titanic ass in the first place. Oh, my God. Get out of here. That way, fatso. That's the kitchen. Eddie. Get your facts straight.
Me. But you just made a bunch of fat jokes. Because I'm angry now. Tough love. If I were Jewish, would it be okay? Our next letter reads, for the record, Eddie did a karate chop move when he said that right now. For the record. Next letter reads, hey, Eddie. I am in an adult soccer league. And almost a month ago, I got nailed in the crotch by a big-ass player on the opposing team. Ever since then, I've had really bad pains in that area, so much so that I haven't gone back to work. Now, my wife is starting to tease me about it, and the guys at work keep calling me during work hours making jokes. What can I do to make everyone back off? I'm getting really pissed, and I fear I'm going to blow up at the wrong person. Please help, Oracle. P1 Daniel from San Marcos. Eddie?
Sounds like his coworkers aren't very sensitive. Dear Boondock Taints. Oh, my gosh. I personally don't understand why you're so testy. I mean, you need to buck up, bro, and grow a pair. Or a new pair. I mean, I understand the people may be driving you nuts. But if it helps, just ball up your fists and get your kicks. On a bean bag. Wow. Now, one thing is for sure. If you do finally go back to work, this will all stop faster than you can say, ha, you got kicked in the nuts, stupid. Now, here's an ancient Chinese remedy that I've used before for things like this. Now, it requires two tea bags and then hits a sack. Glad I could help.
Okay. That was awesome. Didn't help anything, to be honest. Very clever. Listen, I'm not Chinese. Our next letter reads, Need some serious help. Me and my fiancé are getting married next month, and I think she is losing it. She just hired a mariachi band to play at the wedding. We aren't even Hispanic. I have no clue why she did this. I have nothing against mariachi music. but not for my wedding. I tried to reason with her last night, and she flipped out. I've let her do whatever she wants for the wedding, but this one, I have to put my foot down. I know you're getting married next year. What would you do? Signed, P1 Scott in Kensington. Eddie? Dear Joanie Loves Mariachi. Old school for you guys there? Yes. This is the best. She hired a mariachi band.
And neither one of you guys are Hispanic. Did I get that correct? That is correct. Okay. And she doesn't get why you're upset? Right. I mean, why didn't she hire a German Oompa band? Or this guy? Monkey and have a Moroccan wedding, even though both of you are white. Sean did that. That's Sean's wedding. Sean, I'm sorry. Sean had the Moroccan wedding. Sean did that. Yeah, with belly dancers and everything. Sean did that. I'm so sorry. Shut up. I have forgotten. Sean, he apologizes. I have forgotten, Sean. Anyway, back to the point. Now, you have done something that we all as men do. You let your woman off the leash a little too much, and now she's getting out of control. What? Okay? Excuse you? Listen, guys, some call me the wife whisperer. Okay? I don't believe anyone has ever called you that. Some people do. The wife whisperer.
Now listen, this is what you need to do. You need to take control of your life back. The way to do that, you need to jerk that leash real tight and say, no! Stop! No, that doesn't work. Then rub her nose in the mariachi and sped your butt. Common sense, guys. It's common sense. Glad I could help. Well, you didn't help anyone there. That was the wife whisperer. It's just common sense. It wasn't. Sky, can you... Shut your mouth. No, Skye. No, Mike, really. It was dedicated to you. I hated it. I want to return it. But Skye. I want to rewind time and have this not happen. Jewish? Can't you hear it coming up Kung Fu Jewish Lane? It's a real street. No, it's not. In your neighborhood it is. Mazel Tov, San Diego. That is an example of a little Mikey show fun called Tough Love with Eddie. Brilliant.
Pretty good stuff. I hope you enjoyed it. I did. If you haven't seen the video of Danny Bonaduce doing his thing with Johnny Fairplay, it's a pretty crazy video. It's not very often you get to see a guy dropped on his head to the point where he's knocking his teeth out. Boom. That just doesn't happen. Not very natural. You got to feel for the poor guy. It's got to be very painful. Embarrassing, too. A news story from KRVN-TV in Reno. about a Mexican establishment hanging a Mexican flag above an American flag, which is illegal. That is illegal. And the news camera follows a veteran who cuts down the American flag. I'm guessing because, you know, he just doesn't want it associated with the other. Cut 27. This afternoon we received a call from a viewer who said a business near downtown Reno was flying a Mexican flag.
above an American flag, which, in fact, is illegal. This is after photos and comments about the flag were posted on Craigslist as early as 1130 this morning. When we were able to have a photographer go and check everything out, we found the story to be true. It also didn't take long before the situation provoked a strong reaction. We're now going to show you, unedited, just what happened. That is what happened, right there. I'm Jim Brossard. And I took this flag down in honor of my country with a knife from the United States Army. I'm a veteran. I'm not going to see this done to my country. If they want to fight us, then they need to be men. And they need to come and fight us. But I want somebody to fight me for this flag. They're not going to get it back. Wow. You got to respect that, right? Heck yeah. Heck yeah. You got to respect that. Is it good for him? He says you're not going to do that. No way. This is my country, and I'm going to do something about it if you start messing around. Leave her. That's right. Leave her alone. You want to hear Patti LaBelle freak out on a fan? What? Random. This is a fan that was invited on stage during her performance. Cut 49. Put the little kid in this place. You know, a little punk. I'm 63, and I don't take stuff from kids.
He did like you wanted more than I do. I said, what did you say, boo? Say it again. Said that I had to beat him. Bored him to his knees. What did you do? I told him, don't ever do that again. Don't disrespect a woman, especially a black woman who's menopausal, divorced, diabetic, and I will cut you. No! What? I was going through my hot flash, and the little boy just made me mad. And he thought he was cute. I love the kid. He'll never do that again. Going through a hot flash, she says. Hey, somebody get us some cranberry juice. Does that help? Rob. Forget it. A lot of game ones going on. Oh, yeah, a lot of them. Well, some are over. Some are going on today. Cut 32. 80% of the time. Great field toward the panel. And Big Papi adds a man. 2-0 Red Sox. Big Papi. Man. Wasn't me. You're really going to put me to sleep. Cut 31.
And Euclid drives this deep left center. The outfielders look up, and it is gone into monster seats. Kevin Euclid puts the Red Sox in front. All right. A big who cares to the rest of the country. Except for all the Red Sox fans. Cut 39. Oh, no. We're the best in the American League percentage-wise at stealing. We're successful 80% of the time. Right field toward the pesky pole, and Big Papi adds. to his October resume. Yeah, keep playing that, Mike. 3-0 Red Sox. I thought it was him. It says it was him talking, but I guess not. I'll listen to that again, dude. Mike, you should just be aware that there's a human-sized panda walking through the back parking lot. Is Sean in here? Oh, yeah, he's here. Okay. Yeah, no, it's not Sean. Sean, is there a part of you that wishes you were having fun? Yeah.
Just kind of like foraging. Maybe hunting, some gathering. Looks like he's been hibernating. Hey, dude, it's almost winter. Now, here's the deal. As a beaver, you would gather things. As a panda, maybe you just kind of mosey around. Right, Shawnee? What do you do? You climb and eat bamboo. Yeah, he does. That sounds good. Not a lot you got to do. Right? Chill. Life as a panda. How does that go? How does that go, yeah. Life as a panda. I'm a furry listener to The Mikey Show on Rock 105.3. Sweet. That's what his sign says. And he's walking by all the radio stations and waving at the windows. Just cruising the parking lot. It's his American right, you know. Hey, I'm not stopping him. He's having fun. I'm not stopping him. He's just having fun. I'm not stopping him. That's all it's about.
I'm gathering bamboo and having some fun. If you can't do that, why live here? Hey, man, that bamboo's tasty. Heck, yeah. That's what it's about, man. It's about not having offspring and just laying around. Pandas. Pandas. Not wanting it. And sexual deviant stuff. No. Yeah, that's what a furry is. Yeah, it's a fervert. It's a fervert? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Fervert? Yeah. I got all the videos of the P1 sense. It's gross. Sean, are you a fervert? Yes or no? Answer it. Yeah, you are, dude. Just admit it. Yeah, bro. You've done some sick stuff. You've done some sick stuff. Yeah, you make me want to gag. Wait a minute, Eddie. Sitting there looking at you. Knowing you're all furry inside, that makes me sick. That you're all furry? Eddie, you're attacking him, though. Yeah, I am attacking him. He's a pervert. Sorry, fervert.
He's sitting here denying it. Oh, no, I'd do it for funsies. How would you allow it to be okay as your friend? If he just goes, yeah, dude, I'd do it. And, you know, sometimes I get kind of weird. Fine, okay? I don't need details. I don't need a sketch. So if he were to be like, all right, I said it. I'm a ferv. Yes, I would be fine. I would accept him. He's my friend. But these lies and shenanigans, no thank you, Mike. Fervor. Man, Eddie, calm down. No, I won't. I won't be sitting here in this glass case of lies. I won't do it anymore. I've been sitting here for 27 hours listening to this garbage. And I won't do it anymore, Ashley. You guys shouldn't either. This guy over here. Don't let him get away with it. Why do you think he's growing his hair out? Yeah, oh. I know why. Salt and pepper? Yeah, duh. Or black and white panda style? Oh, there it is. Don't make jokes, Rob. This isn't funny anymore. That wasn't a joke. I know what you do. What? No. Over it. Say it, Sean. Just say it. Say it. Don't spray. Yeah, yeah, I'm delirious. Oh, I get it. No. Right? No. Get him, Eddie. Light him up. I'm not going to do this. Light him up, Betty. Yeah, we got it.
We got a bunch of people walking around in furry outfits now in front of the building. We have kids here, Sean. Yeah, but Sean says kids do it, too. Oh, really? I mean, what's really different from the dude in the panda suit and, like, Mickey Mouse? Like, what's different? That guy has a whole cutout of his costume for stuff. He does? Yeah. How do you know it's not to go potty? It could be. Man, Eddie. Where is he? Where'd the furry go? Last time I saw him, he walked in front of the window. I think he's making his rounds. He went up to top and he's walking around. I forget her name, but she's like, what's... Gosh, am I... Tripping out. Yeah, she's like, there's a panda walking around up there. Noreen. Noreen. You're so silly, girl. She's getting a trip out of this. This is crazy. That wacky... Rock station. I know it, right? With the pandas. Who does that? Can you imagine what the whole station must be thinking? Oh, man. Like, what's going on with that rock station and the panda bears walking around? They lost their minds. What'd you do? Sean never answered the question of which one he prefers, panda or beaver. That is true. Which one do you like? I am not going to say. Come on, why not? You like the...
panda bear more. Yes. Because it's more efficient. It's more convenient. It is. Can you imagine, you guys, the restroom at one of these conventions? What it must look like in there? I know, everyone going on the floor and stuff. I'm sure they put boxes, you know, like litter boxes, but I'm just saying it's still... Maybe newspapers down. It's pretty clean. Where is he? He didn't blow any kisses back. I don't want to. Why? That's your boy. This is not my boy. What? It's your girl? I don't know. It's your panda. I don't think it's a girl either. It's tremendous. That's your fur. I like how when he kisses his hand, the furry outside, he goes. Yeah, he does like kind of a. You know, like almost like he's on a float. Like a beauty pageant wave. Like a beauty pageant. Well, some of them have a different attitude. I don't see any. There's not. There's not.
There's not? No. That's the perfectly family-friendly panda costume. I would let Jake see that costume. Open your eyes, you guys. I don't have a problem with Jake seeing that costume. Oh, well, that's a big mistake, Mike. Yeah. Ashley? Is he going to give him ideas or what? I don't know. Just want to give you an FYI that there's a new montage up with new stuff that Flander made. Which one? It's titled White Lion. I want to hear that. When the children cry. That's cool. Great song. Let's hear it. For Children's Hospital. Jennifer Taylor, your son is Patrick, right? Yeah, he was 14 months old, and he and I were walking together, and we were right behind a car, and the driver of the car just wasn't paying attention, arguing with his girlfriend and backed the car up and completely ran him over. They told me that he had suffered a spinal cord injury. I don't know what I would have done without Children's Hospital. I don't even know how to put into words how they just take care, not just the patient, but of the whole family. I'm getting better and better as the days go on.
And August 6th of last year, I took my first step. Two years ago, I was born by emergency C-section. My lungs were the size of a 27-week-old baby. Because people donate $2, $50, whatever. $2 paid for my vial of medicine for the next hour. Because of Children's Hospital, I actually am here today. I have two twin boys that are now four and beautiful. They went through a pretty deep experience at Children's Hospital as well. My wife had a really tough pregnancy. They were born what's called Momo twins, which means that they were swimming around in the same sack. And thanks to Children's Hospital, they are healthy as can be now. And, you know, they've gotten the post-care that they needed at Children's Hospital.
When I think about, you know, why did this happen? I'm kind of looking at it from the other way. And I'm just so thankful that he survived the accident. I'm really thankful, and I feel really lucky. Found a great job on that, dude. That sounds great, man. That's gorgeous. And, Jay, I wonder if, in a little bit, if we can get a total of how much we've raised. Our goal was to raise $15,000 for Children's Hospital. And you just heard that montage. You hear how it affects people's lives in a positive way. And, yeah, I got my son in here. My son is 12 months old, and I'm thinking to myself, if anything ever happened to Jake and I needed to use Children's Hospital, I would be so happy for the people that have donated money in the past, today, and even in the future.
You can donate money by going to MikeyShow.com, M-I-K-E-Y-S-H-O-W.com, Rock1053.com. There's a real easy link to use. And you can also come down to the radio station. And if you come down to the radio station, you can donate here a donation of $50 or more. We'll get you one of those limited edition Mikey Show 28-hour show T-shirts while supplies last. When they're gone, they're gone. The big boss is in the studio. Bob Bollinger is in the studio. Bob, welcome. Thank you. Great job, guys. Thank you very much. Thank you. And Bob has personal experience with Children's Hospital, right? Absolutely. Can you tell us a little bit about your story? Yeah, well, you know, I've, with years of being involved with Make-A-Wish Foundation, which is an amazing cause, and helping sick kids, and Ronald McDonald House, which helps the families of these same kids. You come in contact with Children's Hospital because that's where most of these kids are treated. And certainly in the last couple of years with the Clear Channel Radiothon, which you guys have, from the outside looking in, have raised as much money as anybody, you appreciate just the people and everything they do there.
can't imagine what it's all about. And 18 months ago, I have two daughters that are 10 and 7 now, and Sophie, my youngest, was 6 years old, just finishing first grade, and started experiencing what she called Weird Eye. Great name. Kids have the best name. And we thought it was just some, the pediatrician thought it was some muscular problem, maybe a mini-migraine, nothing really to be concerned with, but they got more frequent, more frequent, more... more pronounced, had more effect on her. So we checked into Children's on a Tuesday night, and part of an EEG is keeping a child up all night, and they were terrific about that. But we were confident that there was nothing alarming going on. But the EEG showed that she was having seizures and also indicated that there may be some force that was causing these seizures. So that same day we had a... an MRI. She got out of that, was just getting ready to eat, and then they wanted another MRI. And we began to become somewhat concerned. And out of that, the neurosurgeon sat down with us and said she had a brain tumor. Now, one of the things that's amazing about children, and I'm not going to make a comment in general about surgeons, but every doctor, every nurse there has an amazing bedside manner, not just with the children.
but with the parents. And Dr. Levy, who was our neurosurgeon, did a wonderful job of explaining in detail what the situation was and said to us that this was likely a good scenario, that it was a benign tumor, just all the indicators were that. But you don't hear that. What you hear is your little girl has a brain tumor. And that was a Wednesday afternoon, Wednesday night. We scheduled the surgery for the next morning. And you don't know fear until you face a situation like that. But I got to tell you, through that night, how they kept her comfortable. And Sophie was the strongest of all of us. Kids are amazing. How just their care and their overcommunication with us throughout the next morning. The surgery was the next day. And they just do little things. And surgery there. And, of course, it's just. indescribable, frightening, horrific moment when your child's being wheeled away to surgery. But you're there until they're put to sleep. You're there almost the instant they wake up. And the surgery went well. And it turned out, you know, we're one of the really easy cases. It was the best of benign tumors. It's called DNAT. They took most of it out. She came out of it terrific. That was a Thursday. She walked out of the hospital.
Holy cow, Bob. And you wouldn't have known. That's amazing. And so we were a great case. But when you're on the critical care unit of children, and as frightened as we were and as upset as we were, we felt, particularly after she came out of the surgery, extraordinarily lucky that our little girl was going to walk out of the hospital. There are a lot of kids up there. that don't have it so lucky. But just their approach is amazing. Their bedside manner, the care, the equipment they have is incredible. And so I became, I went from being certainly a fan of Children's Hospital and a supporter of Children's Hospital through all other contact to just a shameless advocate for Children's Hospital. So know that... how much I appreciate the effort of this show in the last couple of days on behalf of Children's Hospital and every dollar that's been given. It is going to, and it's a nonprofit organization, and the grants that they've had that have been much publicized in the last year, which certainly helped, are terrific, but there's never enough. So thank you, everyone, for donating to that and know that it's going to a real cause that does amazing things.
And how lucky we were. I mean, if she hadn't had school today, I'd have Sophie here, and you would see her. Oh, you've met her. Yeah, I met her at the church. She's so sweet and so cute. Well, you know, if you know my wife, Jeannie, she is Jeannie Jr., which is delightful and frightening as hell. It's so funny, because weren't you saying that each of your daughters, like, one of them's really like Jeannie, one of them's really like you. That's frightening as hell, too. It's funny because you guys are so, you're very opposite. Well, and Mikey, you know, I mean, I was a late father, so until you have kids, you don't realize. Even, and thankfully, hopefully you'll never have to come in contact with Children's Hospital or have any need to be there. But, boy, isn't it nice to know now that you have a kid. that there's a resource like that in San Diego. And, yeah, and we've had a couple of things that we were thinking to ourselves. We may, if this gets any worse, we may have to go to Children's, and that feeling is scary. Our neighbors have had to. It's just a scary thing, and knowing that they are as good as they are at what they do is incredible. And so, anyway.
Thank you for coming in and telling us about this. Oh, absolutely. And for sharing your story. And if you want to donate to Children's Hospital, that's why we're doing this 28-hour show. Go to MikeyShow.com, M-I-K-E-Y-S-H-O-W.com or Rock1053.com, and you can donate there. Or you can come down to the radio station and donate in person. Either way, we would love to take your money and give it to Children's Hospital. It's a great thing. Great thing. So thank you, Bob. I really do appreciate it. Absolutely. And any sentiment here for staying on a couple extra hours? How dare you slap your own face? Eddie had a good suggestion. Eddie was suggesting that. You all look pretty good. Yeah, he was saying maybe we should come back tonight and do like a local music show or something. Six or seven hours, you know, come back. Spotlight on local music. That's right. Great job, guys. Thank you, Bob. We appreciate it. We're in the home stretch. Come on, guys. We're in the home stretch. Broadcasting from the Cricket Lawyer Studios. You're listening to 28 Hours of the Mikey Show. On KIOZ, San Diego. The following takes place between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Oh, my gosh. What does that mean, killer boots? I have no clue. Killer boots, man? That's for you, Sean. She's a crazy lady. Very much so. That is totally true. Oh, man.
Kid Rock says that Pam Anderson lied to him about having a miscarriage. You read this story? This is so shady. That's crazy. It's the craziest, weirdest, most bizarre story ever. Yeah. So Kid Rock did an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, and I guess, you know, they asked him about it because right after they announced that they were getting a divorce after their whatever, like, four-month marriage. it became news that Pam had suffered a miscarriage. And so Kid Rock tells Rolling Stone magazine that Pam was upset that a kid wanted to stay in L.A. because she was in Canada filming that, what is it, Blonde and Blonder movie or whatever it's called. So she was in Canada filming that movie, and he was in L.A., and he wanted to stay in L.A. because I guess he had front row seats for the Lakers or whatever. He really wanted to go, and he was on the phone with Pam, and Pam was all getting upset. He said he was telling Pam, babe, I got these tickets. I'll see you on the weekend. It's no big deal. And then he said Pam just started freaking out and going, you don't care about me, blah, blah, blah. And then she goes, I just had a miscarriage, and then hangs up the phone.
So he says that he then goes to Vancouver and arrives and finds Pam partying at a restaurant, drinking champagne and jumping on tables. That's crazy. So he doesn't, you know, he believes that was something that she just said to try and guilt him into coming to see her and, you know, that the story leaked out to the media. You know what's weird, too? You know what's weird, too, is they say that she's not really denying it. Right, no, when Rolling Stone contacted her and asked her, and she said, this is her quote to Rolling Stone about the Kid Rock thing. She says, quote, I hope his album does well. I hope he's happy in life. We were married for four months. If he has nothing nice to say about me, then please tell him to stop talking about me, end quote. That's her full response to the allegations. Okay, well, let him know that you said that. Is there anything else we could tell him? It's bizarre. So weird. Eddie, do you know if B.J. Novak, is he done? He had to get rescheduled. Okay. But we have coming up next the guy that plays the coach on Friday Night Lights, Kyle Chandler. He's good. We can talk about how much we love that show, and he's awesome in it. He got robbed. He should have been nominated for an Emmy. He's really good. Really good. And the character, the woman that plays his wife is fantastic.
