Mikey opened the 28-hour Mikeython by explaining that his son Jake has autism and that Rady Children's Hospital's help made the fundraiser deeply personal. Lauren O'Brien's old bathroom recording of Santa Baby resurfaced through the show's Kinda Creepy parody, while Jay and Woodsy argued over a family blender used for dog food. Captain Buzzkill called to threaten an FCC complaint and disparage the marathon, but Mikey kept inviting him to come into the studio and defend himself face to face. The crew also unveiled Recast, Throw Your Spouse Under the Bus, charity eating and car contests, performed a Norv Turner-Wade Phillips sketch, and argued that gay service members deserved equal treatment in the military.

What happened, in order

  1. Why Mikeython Matters

Mikey explained that his four-year-old son Jake has autism and credited Rady Children's Hospital with helping him, giving the 28-hour fundraiser its personal purpose.

  2. The 28-Hour Survival Plan

The crew compared plans for staying awake, from water and oranges to donuts, Dr Pepper and cigarettes, then rejected the Hot Seat bit because they feared it would make them kill each other.

  3. Santa Baby's Bathroom Origin

Lauren O'Brien explained that she once hid from her roommates and recorded Santa Baby in a bathroom using earbuds as a microphone, inspiring the show's bizarre Kinda Creepy parody.

  4. The Dog-Food Blender Debate

A story about a mother blending wet and dry dog food in the family blender led Jay and Woodsy into a disgusted argument about pet food, dog kisses and whether anyone would eat a Beggin' Strip.

  5. Captain Buzzkill Calls In

The recurring critic Captain Buzzkill claimed he monitored the show for the FCC, dismissed the charity marathon and threatened to report the hosts, while Mikey repeatedly invited him to appear in person.

  6. Coaches Skip the Game

In a mock call between Norv Turner and fired Cowboys coach Wade Phillips, the two supposedly considered abandoning the Chargers game for burgers and cold drinks.

  7. A Day of New Games

Mikey previewed odd new bits including Name That Piercing Sound, Lyrical Chairs and a Recast challenge in which each host would impersonate another crew member for ten minutes.

  8. Throw Your Spouse Under the Bus

Mikey revealed a segment where Sienna, Woodsy, Lauren and Jay would publicly complain about Todd, Jamie, Matt Commerce and Kim, with the partners allowed to answer back.

  9. Eating and Decorating for Charity

The crew planned to donate according to how many chicken wings they could eat and announced a decorated-car parade whose winner would receive an electric grill.

  10. Don't Ask, Don't Tell

Mikey and the crew supported allowing gay people to serve openly, arguing that they complete the same training, face the same danger and pursue the same mission as everyone else.
