Driving when you were three. No, I know. It's so funny whenever a song comes on or something. He's like, oh, I remember the song in the bars. And I'm like, oh, really? I've never heard of it. Yeah, it was two. I was pretty sure it was a preschool. Just to mess with him, you should be like, what's Elton John? What is that? I know. Heard that word today, but I don't know what it means. Elton John. Is that a city in Canada? There's a funny story about a DJ back in Dallas named Ron Chapman, world famous DJ. And his daughter actually said, She goes, Paul McCartney was in a band before Wings? Wow. M1 Sanjaya's on the line. What's up, dude? What's up, man? Hey, man, I just wanted to tell you, my first kiss was in kindergarten. Was it really? What was his name? Stop it with that. It was Mark. No. No, but it was a French kiss, and the best way to describe it was like, Having a wet, raw piece of, like, calamari. Oh. Filthy. I was, like, filthy. I was spitting right after that. Okay, what if you're walking down the street, da-da-da, minding your own business, and you see two five-year-olds making out. Seriously. I would run over there. God, stop. I'd break it up. And be like, what are you doing? Break it up like they were fighting. Yeah. Where is your mom? Mine was in kindergarten by the tree.
Let's meet under the tree at noon. Yeah, I remember that. I just don't remember the girl's name. You didn't do like Lauren did, though, and wait until they fell asleep so that you could cross to them while they were asleep? No, I am a creep. That's total prayer right there. I know. Lauren's, like, crawling on hands and knees across the other sleeping kids. Slithering over there. We'll get him. He doesn't even know what's coming. I didn't even stop, though. I did it again. You did? Well, not to him. Were you addicted to it? Be honest. Were you like Steve Phillips? Yeah, but they have programs for that. You need to go to Mississippi ASAP. First time I was admitted, I think I was like four and a half. That's what? Little kids in preschool, man. They do some funny stuff. Watch out for Jake, dude. He's going to be kissing girls real soon. That kid's a good-looking kid. He is adorable. There's a kid at his school that she loves him and he loves her. They love each other. They're going to get married. I said to my wife, I go, how cute would it be if they went to school together forever and they fell in love and got married? That would be cute. But they needed to date other people before that happened because you can't just... Why? But that's the magic of the story. Preschool?
I think that's beautiful. You have no basis for comparing. I think that's beautiful. You have to be able to compare. You have to, like, date someone in, like, second grade or something just to make sure. Date. In second grade. Tap around. French someone else. Want to come to my Little League game? No. Share sunflower seeds. Frenching is the grossest word. It makes me think of a lizard. I've brought it back. It's back. Don't bring it back. It makes my mouth water and it's, like, not in a good way. M1 redhead. How you doing? Good. So when I was 13, totally in love with this guy. I mean, I used to sing Mariah Carey songs about him. Which Mariah Carey song? Fantasy. Mostly My All. Which one? I'd give my all. You know, my all. Get it. That was really good. Thank you. So finally got my chance to kiss him.
And all I've seen were kisses in the movies, so I totally went, like, full tongue and everything, didn't know what I was doing. Nice. Licking his face. And he actually, this guy that I'm completely and totally loved with, totally pushes me away and says, you need to slow down. That was, it probably wasn't humiliating at all, huh? Oh, no, of course not. Probably a really good self-esteem builder. Well, my Cinderella story is I actually started dating him about two months ago, so. Did you know? No way. You can go back. How old are you now? I'm 21 now. 22. Do you kiss him and he's still criticizing? You figure it out. I don't use as much tongue now. Thank God for that. Have a good one, guys. Thank you. What a funny story, though. M1 Redhead. If that works out, tell the kids. That's right. M1 Kaylee, are you there? I am here. How old were you? I was in first grade, so probably like five or six, maybe. Rock on. I just remembered. That was my first kiss when I was five. I kissed somebody before Krista. I kissed somebody at my cousin's wedding and they couldn't find us. I was a flower boy and she was a flower girl. Your grandma doesn't count, Mike. No, I was the ring bearer and she was the flower girl. You would have been the cutest ring bearer ever.
Can I tell you a quick story? Yes. I hate to ruin. Kaylee, I'm going to let you tell this story. I'm stealing your thunder right now. Gosh, what's the problem? I know it. But you know what I did? I tied the ring in a knot. They couldn't untie it. Nice. In the wedding. I was an idiot. No, you weren't. What are you doing, Mike, tying it in a knot? You probably wanted to make sure it didn't fall off. No, I probably was being mischievous. Kaylee, what happened? Okay, so in first grade, which you don't really know anything about what's going on, my first kiss wasn't even until a couple years later, but I'm playing around with my friend, and the next thing I know, a little boy's ding-dong is in my face. So that was the first time I... I don't know that we could put that on the air. I don't know. I had to hit the button on you on that one. We all looked at you. Yeah, we all looked at each other going, can we really put that on the radio? I don't think we can. I thought that was like a cupcake or something. Yeah, I don't think we could put that one on the air. I'll have to think of a way to describe what you were saying, but there's not a lot of ways you can describe that, though, other than what it is. You know what I mean? That would scar you for life. He's a very forward young man. Very assuming. Yeah, he was really taking a lot. He was little. He didn't know. I know, but he was taking quite a bit of liberty. Yeah, he was. You know, Mikey, that kind of goes along with my story. What?
When I was five, the girl down the street, Linda Lemming, we would always go hide in the woods. And we got caught and my mom grounded me from seeing her because we were actually taking all of our clothes off. Oh, my God. This is the ghetto portion of the show? This is the ghetto portion. And I got caught and I was grounded from her. But I snuck out in the woods and we did this rendezvous meeting. And we had a little house we'd set up, and we actually set the woods on fire. What? Oh, my God. It was a fireman showed up, and I had to talk to the fireman. There I am. Were you clothed by that point, I hope? Partially. You were five. Jay's stories are always like... It's so ridiculous. They're crazy. How do you have all of these in that brain? How did you set the place on fire? We had matches. We decided we were going to have a fire because in your house, you need to have a fire so you can cook, obviously. And I could get it started, but she got it started. So then when the fireman was talking to me, I was like, it was her fault. Yeah, it's fire, kid.
That is such the perfect, like, character name, Linda Lemming. Yeah. And Linda Lemming. It's so funny. It's like Liz Lemon or Liz whatever. It's so funny that we remember first and last name. Oh, yeah. Never forget it. Nope. Jill Taylor. Jill Taylor. How about that? You know where she is now or no? She is, I think she's in Texas somewhere. That's the mom from Home Improvement. Oh, yeah, that's right. Jill Taylor. Jill Taylor. The kids first. Family girl with no TV. M1 Christy? Yeah. Go ahead. Hi, good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Hey, I just wanted to call and share because I think I actually had two first kisses. I was 12 before I finally had my first kiss, but the very first kiss I ever had actually happened on stage in front of about 50 of my peers because I was in a musical. And the teacher was standing there and we had to practice. It was Oklahoma and they kiss a bunch in that musical. And so we had to practice the kiss. How old? I was 12. They were having 12-year-olds do a play where there's a bunch of kissing in it? I would be so nervous. I remember when I did Oklahoma. Did you really? No. 10 years old, my play was Caligula. It was really weird. But hey, it was a progressive school.
That's right. Well, I know. It was pretty terrifying. The teacher's standing there going, just do it. Just kiss her. Weird. I wanted to kiss someone, but I've never done this before. You're like, I'm wearing a retainer. It's acting, okay? You just got to lose yourself in the part. I tried to. I tried to. So it was probably one of the first. And the thing I remember is that the boy that had to kiss me had a crusty nose. That's so filthy. That is the worst. If you have a crusty nose, maybe you're too young to be kissing. Maybe. Gross. Thank you for the call. Absolutely. You guys know what... Do you even know what Celebrity Fit Club is? No. TV show? It's a TV show, right? Yep. Where they take celebrities that are overweight and try to get them to use... This is like... Aren't there 17 shows with the same content? Yeah, it's always like the older celebrities that get involved and they lose weight. Like Screech from Saved by the Bell was on it. Screech? That dude's a rail. Yeah. He had to lose weight? He was. He's not anymore. It's J-Listers, you know. Yeah. T-Listers. T-Listers. That's exactly it. Bobby Brown was on Celebrity. What'd you have for dinner? Fried chicken. Fried chicken. On a weight level.
You instantly laugh, you goof. You goof. Y'all put it out there. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. We put it out there. Now listen. Fried chicken. One piece, 500 to 600 calories. What? Delicious. Wow. 500 to 600. Why did you play that? 500 what? I got to rewind that to hear that. One piece, 500 to 600 calories. 500 to 600 calories. And one piece of fried chicken. Are we talking a breast, a drum? I don't think it matters. Take the skin off. 300 calories. Told you. Well, who's doing that? Lauren. Yeah. What's the point, Lauren? I don't like fried chicken. You don't? No. That's crazy. It's delicious. It's so good. It's crazy delicious. When you taste it. Yeah. When it hits your lips. When you put it on your lips and you chew it. It tastes amazing. It's so good. I bet you don't like chicken on a bone, right? Yeah. I do. I mean, I don't mind it, but I just would rather have grilled chicken. The fried chicken makes me feel like, ugh. Yummy. Makes you feel all yummy. It makes me feel like a bucket of Crisco. I would eat a bucket of chicken right now. Oh, yeah. If we had, if somebody walked in here, oh, yeah. If somebody walked in here right now. Some taters. Oh, for goodness sake. Gravy. I would be all over it. Oh, yeah. Thank you, Tom Cruise. I would, oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
You're here with a bunch of fried chicken. Don't fry it. Grill it. Only 250 calories. Yeah, but then it doesn't taste as good. It tastes hard. It does. It's boring. Boring. So you made a choice to consume 600 calories when some of you had the grilled chicken, right? Who had the grilled chicken? Okay. I had some of that too. You had some of that too? Yeah. And that's the second point. Portion control. Lauren won't be able to participate in this question, but I'm going to ask it. KFC, Popeyes, or Churches? Dude, Churches is pretty good. I've only been to KFC. Are you serious? Churches is money. Churches is money. Popeyes is money, too, because Popeyes makes a spicy one. And their biscuits are really good. What about Long John Silver? Do they have that here? That's fish. And they have chicken planks. They're delicious. What is a chicken plank? Did you really?
Yeah, I had the hat with a little leering on it. Jay has had nine lives. You're like the dude from Fast Times. I'm 100 years old. I've worked a lot of places. He's like Judge Reinhold. He's like Judge Reinhold from Fast Times. Dude, put the uniform on. Have a little pride, okay? Best job ever. Oh, I bet. Dude, they deep fried everything there. I deep fried everything. I can make 100 hush puppies in like 30 seconds. Oh, my God. Love hush puppies. How much would you love to have some... Starving. Red beans and rice. I'm starving. Spicy chicken. I have some mango. Oh, thanks. What do you have, Lauren? Some alfalfa sprouts? Alfalfa sprouts. No. Well, yes. On my sandwich, I do. Yeah. I've got a banana. You have some raw bark to go with that banana? No, I have some raw almonds. Raw almonds. Yes. Delicious. Look, the thing is... The thing is... I have an overactive appetite. Is that right? So I will eat... If there's food in the room, no matter what it is. I guess I do too. Ditto. I have to bring that stuff or otherwise I will indulge. I don't think you will though because you're, I mean, I think the rest of us would have a really hard time if there was an, maybe not Mike, you're pretty good at this too, but she'll have an open Tupperware of like carrots and blueberries or almonds or whatever. Always healthy. And you don't.
Like, eat at it. It will sit there for hours open in front of her, and it stays filled. The only reason is because I'm terrified of crunching on the mic. I know. They're going to be like, wait, Mikey's show used to be good until that crunching started on the mic. What is that? Commercials. What is that? Oh, that's the new girl. I thought you weren't eating it because it was carrots and berries mixed together. Mixed together. That's why I thought you weren't eating it. Yeah, I'm not doing the mixed together anymore. That was gross. Jay, we got to take a break. And I want to do cheesy love songs when we come back. Let's do this. It's a game. We're going to play a game. So we're going to clear the phone lines out and have you call right now. 570-1949. Jay, do we know what a prize is yet? Yes, indeed. What do we got? We're going to give away. We'll give you something. Yeah, it's a pair of lift tickets to Snow Valley. Oh, my gosh. Done. Huge. 570-1949. What you're going to do is you're going to either pick me and pick a horse. Either me, Woods.
Lauren or Sienna? You had a little problem there for a second. What wasn't written in front of me on the teleprompter? You're going to either pick me or, hang on, like, well. Budweiser? Sorry. Yeah. What you're going to do is you're going to call right now. You're going to pick a horse. It's either going to be me, you're going to pick Woods, you're going to pick Lauren, or you're going to pick Sienna. And we're going to do, like, love song, name that tune. I don't know what they are. Pick your horse. None of us know what they are except for Jay. And what Jay's going to do is he's going to start to play it. And as soon as we recognize it, we say our name. Okay, how recent are these things? Because I'm a little bit younger. Well, you just got everybody not to pick you. Whatever. Don't pick me. She's like, it has to be, you know, boy loves girl or I won't. The Ataris. Is Miley Cyrus on there? The Ataris or Miley Cyrus. Or Keith Urban. Watch. Don't pick me, but you just may make the biggest mistake of your life. Wow. Want to let people know? You can go to FM949SD.com, become an FM949 Insider, and get event invitations. Very cool. Concert pre-sale code, so you can get early stuff to the concerts and all that. I thought that said pie sale. I was on board.
Call us right now if you want to play this game. You're just going to pick me, Woods, Lauren, or Sienna. Cheesy love songs. We'll do it next. It's time for the FM 94.9 Authentic Surf Report. From South Coast Surfshops with the FM 94.9 Authentic Surf Report for this Friday morning. Being brought to you by Guayaquil, Yerba Mate. Today we're looking at a slow decrease in swell combinations. Northwestern primarily with some southwest. Breaking that up just a bit as well. Both those swell directions, again, as mentioned, on the taper off today, and they are battling a high tide this morning, which will drop off to a negative low towards sunset. So that will have an effect on size and shape in all areas. That being said, look for need-to-waste-type plusways on average, but some chest-type plusways still in standout spots early before that tide drop and swell drop continues to make us lose some of that size. Beach breaks right now looking fairly clean. The winds are relatively calm, maybe a little bit light out of the southeast, east-southeast right now.
So we don't want to jump on it quick before that other front slowly approaches us and those winds go bad on us. For up-to-the-minute surf reports and forecasts, go to surfline.com. And for your Christmas holiday needs, check out South Coast Surf Shop's five locations. You can go online at southcoast.com. This surf report is brought to you by Guayaki Urbamate. It can only be heard three times daily right here on FM 94.9. This has been the FM 94.9 Authentic Surf Report. Let's make some noise in the studio. We have a legend in the studio with us this morning. Thank you, thank you, Mike. I wonder who he's talking about. Have to welcome Randy Jones and say hello to Randy Jones this morning. Thank you for coming in. My pleasure, Mike. Thanks for having me. And congratulations for everything you've been doing the last, what, 26 hours? 26 hours, yeah. Not that you have two to go. I won't mention that. Yeah. We can do that standing on our heads at this point. Oh, I love it. Yeah. Good job. We're in the final stretch here.
But anyway, we got Cy Young winner and San Diego Padre legend Randy Jones in the studio. And he's got a new sports bar, right? Yes, sir. And this place is really, really cool. It's called Randy Jones All-American Sports Grill. I love his barbecue, man. If you go out to the ballpark and you've had his barbecue, it is absolutely delicious. And his sauces are good. great, man. And you've got a spicy one with jalapenos in it. It's weird that he gave that to you and we all got regular ones. He said, who likes spicy? We have an option now. I have that available. But anyway... Tell us about your new place. This place sounds great. Well, I'm really excited about it. Obviously, right here at Hazard Center. Forgive the voice. I've been doing a lot of appearances and talking too much, apparently. But, you know, the Randy Jones All-American Sports Grill is actually where the old trophies used to be in Hazard Center.
I run off of Friars Road here, not too far from where we're at. Great location. It's a great location, and I've been there for years. And when the opportunity came up with Mark Oliver, the proprietor, and the idea of starting a sports grill and the whole concept and remodeled, put 22 flat-screen TVs in it and redid the bar area and the menu with, obviously, a lot of barbecue items on the menu now. It gives me an opportunity to bring my barbecue items away from Petco Park. That's where it is and has been the last five years. And now I have an opportunity to have it day in and day out at the Sports Grill. So we're really excited about it. And, you know, everything's going well. The food's great. You've got to come on in and enjoy the experience, have some fun. And if you're a sports fan, I want to make it the place to come here in the Valley. You've got a 14-foot high-definition projection screen, which ain't bad. Right behind the bar. It's absolutely beautiful. It's like having four 60-inch flat screens or one big flat screen for the Charger game and big events and the ultimate fight matches, whatever it might be. We're full sports. I'm looking forward to the rest of the football season, the playoffs, and then we spin right around and we'll be back into baseball. 162 games. I'm looking forward to it. Can't wait.
The other cool thing is that you got the trolley terrace right there. And so it's very accessible. People can get there real easy. Yeah, it's been great. Either they come there, they can park there, take the trolley over to Qualcomm. Even during the summer, you can stay there, park there, go to Petco, whatever it might be. I've actually had a few people that have come in and talked to me where they go down early and park at Qualcomm for the Charger game, take the trolley over to my place, and do their tailgate at my place, and then trolley back. Yes. Which I thought, well, that's a really smart idea. It is. The thing, though, is the food, man. I mean, I'm just telling you. The barbecue is...
phenomenal. It's phenomenal. I'm killing it as we speak. You're throwing some down. I'm really excited about it and the whole concept and another great experience. A place to come watch sports, have some fun. That's what it's all about. If it's not going to be fun, I'm probably not going to get involved in it, guys. Back in the days that you were pitching, were you interested in cooking? Were you interested in sauces even back then? No, not really. It was after I retired that I kind of got involved in a little bit more of the food business and I actually a couple of years I traveled the world for my sister's company and she did delis and bakeries and military commissaries so I traveled the world for her and that's where I kind of got my feet wet into the food business and I always loved to barbecue and I'm always I got a smoker at home I'm always smoking meats and you know and this is my grandpa's recipe is it really the barbecue sauce Growing up, that's all my mom ever put on meatloaf. Where's he from? Barbecue sauce. He was from Weatherford, Texas. There you go. I'm from Dallas. The best barbecue in the country. We'll take Memphis on any day. This is right there, man. This is Texas style. Texas sweet is the style. It's always been fun. 17 years ago when I actually started the barbecue at the ballpark.
During the pottery games, I had my grandpa say, hey, you need to make me up a batch of barbecue sauce. That's awesome. And he did. And what I had to do was I had to take it to a lab, break it down so I could duplicate it and actually bottle it. So here's my question for you. Because when you're producing it on a large scale, how close to what you grew up with and what you remember eating as you were growing up with, if you go into the grocery store and you buy a bottle of the Randy Jones barbecue sauce, When you crack open a bottle, how close is that flavor and taste to what you remember in the backyard when you were growing up? You can't tell the difference. Really? Wow. It took that long. It took 25 different runs of the barbecue sauce before my grandfather approved it. Really? He went through 25 samples. I had him right there with me. And he goes, no, you need more of this. No, you need more of that. And we just kept tweaking it. And finally one day, I think it was, yeah, it was like the 24th sample, I think it was. And he goes. That's it. Wow. That's great. It was unbelievable. And my co-packer's been great about consistency and being very, very good. I've been really, really pleased with it. And available pretty much everywhere? Well, it's available at Henry's and more of the health food stores right now in Rouse and in local areas. You'll use it at some of the restaurants, obviously.
Petco, Cisco has it for distribution. And a lot of the markets, you know, around locally, like I say, Henry's, but you can go down to Iowa Meat Farms. Oh, yeah. They carry it. And let me tell you something. If people have never been to Iowa Meat Farms, do yourself a favor. Really? Do yourself a favor. That's a good call, Mike. Oh, yeah. I mean, because I'm a foodie. I love, I mean, I'm just, I'm a foodie. And if you are looking for just cool stuff like this, you know, I mean, this is a, If you're really into flavor and you're really into food, you know, some people, it just doesn't matter. And my wife will tell you. She's like, hey, you know, to her, she's just eating to survive. Me, there's a reason I'm chubby. I love food, okay? I love food, and I love good food. And this is a good sauce. It's a good sauce. So you've got to check this place out. Well, thank you. Enjoy that spicy. I think you'll like it. We don't use that a lot. We might use it more at the sports grill. I don't use it at the ballpark. I don't use so much yet, but I just use the original flavor. Oh, man. But I enjoy that. Good stuff. Well, the new sports bar is right here in Hazard Center, and it's the Randy Jones All-American Sports Grill.
I have to ask you about the Padres before you go. No, no doubt. What do you think, and what do you think of this team, and where do you think they're headed? Well, you know, they're young. Where they're headed, you have basically the nucleus of the pitching staff, which is probably the most imperative thing. We've got to get stronger up the middle, but I know they're working on that. Rumor has it we might get Orlando Hudson to play second base for us next year. Wow, rad. And we can get Bartlett from Tampa. There's a holdup. What's the holdup? The holdup, I think, was Cesar Ramos, actually, one of the pitchers that was in the trade. Actually, I had a little bit of arm problems, but they're almost through that. I think everything's going to be fine. And with Cameron, the new young kid that we picked up earlier. Cameron Maven? Yes. Yeah, center fielder. And you know your name's town. I'm impressed. I'm a huge baseball guy. I wanted to ask you a question while you still talk about the Padres because I'm totally on board. But I wanted to know, I mean, this guy won 20 games in the show twice. He won the Cy Young. Who's the toughest you ever faced? Who's the guy that you saw him in the on-deck circle and you went, oh, boy. Look who's coming up.
You know, basically a lot of times, but my toughest probably with the Phillies was Richie Allen. Oh, Richie Allen. Yeah, Dick Allen could hit. I'd look over there and go, I'm pitching around him. If the bases weren't loaded, they would be because I'm walking him. That big man scared me. That dude could hit anything. I mean, I jammed him one day. I remember in Philadelphia, I jammed him. The ball went out in center field. And I went, I don't think this is fun anymore. I'm going to walk this guy. Well, you know, I was talking to Randy at the break about, you know, the Padres and just how kind of a bummer. We were all, everybody was bummed to see Adrian go. You think it was a great trade? It was a great trade to do it right now. I think for Adrian, too. I know Adrian mentioned he thanked the Putters for doing it now and not making it in the middle of the season where it's a distraction. Everything is a great move. What I like is with Jed Hoyer and Jason McLeod.
Coming over from Boston, you know that they drafted these kids that they picked up for Adrian Gonzalez. They know what they've got. And so I'm really excited about that. We might be a season away from finding out. You know, they've still got to make it to the big leagues. But obviously, I'm excited. They've got to get young. And my motto for 2011, guys, is I want one of our young kids to step up. Where's the next Tony Gwynn in our minor leagues? They're there. They have the talent. We just haven't been able in the last 20 years for one of these young kids to actually come in and make an impact and step up on a consistent basis. That's my motto. I just want one. I'm not getting greedy. And Adrian wasn't originally drafted to play here. He stepped up. He stepped up real good. You're fourth in MVP voting, guys. You're one of the best. You're one of the elite. And a well-deserved contract he's going to get in Boston and get the money that he obviously deserves. I'm happy for Adrian, but I think we've got the young talent, the nucleus. And the one thing, if they continue the attitude, play the game of baseball the way I saw them play it last year.
This ball club, this franchise, will do well in the next decade. Buddy Black, he's a good man. He's a good man. He knows his stuff. He sure is. Being left-handed, I really like him even more. Hell yeah, for sure. Hey, Randy, thank you so much for taking the time to come in and bring us some really delicious food. Can we hear it, please? All right, guys. Hey, thank you. Happy holidays to everybody. Hey, it's great what you're doing for the Polinsky and the autism group over there. God bless you, what you're doing. And just thanks for letting me be part of it. Yeah, absolutely. Thank you. Thank you. We appreciate it. Speaking of, just want to update people on where we are with this. At 930, which is exactly an hour away, there is a few items that are going to come off of bidding. We're going to close them out. The Silver Sun Pickups signed poster will stop at 930. The Muse signed Flat will stop at 9.30. The Weird Al signed Poster will stop at 9.30. Cage the Elephant signed Guitar. Alice in Chains signed Guitar. The signed Boxing Glove for Manny Pacquiao. The Gary Hoey signed Guitar will come off at 9.30. The Flowers for a Year from Pro Flowers is going to stop at 9.30. And the E-Grill is going to stop at 9.30.
A few items that will come off the board at 945. We have to close out. Can I add one little thing maybe? Sure, sure. How about four Padre tickets to a game in 2011? Oh, that'd be great. And dinner for four with me at the Randy Jones Barbecue. Oh, wow. That is so great. Put that in there. Absolutely. Amazing. Four field level seats behind the Padre dugout. That is great. And I'll join them for dinner at the barbecue in Centerfield. That's huge. That's so awesome, Randy. Thank you. Thank you so much. Very generous. Thank you. We'll have to have Jared add that. Since Jared's here, he can immediately post things onto the website. And that is so generous of you. My pleasure, guys. So great. Okay, so here are the things that will stop at 945 this morning. We will stop the bidding on the signed football. From LaDainian Tomlinson. We will stop the bidding on the Drew Brees signed and framed jersey. We will pull the Luis Castillo signed football. We will pull the Switchfoot signed Hello Hurricane. That's a really cool package that I want people to check out. Switchfoot's signed Christmas package. Incredible thing that they've done specifically for us.
And Drew and the guys from Switchfoot, so nice to do that. We have a 9x5 foot Big Bay blanket. That's the blanket. They're incredible. You don't want to miss that one. It's my go-to everyday blanket. Yep, everyday. And then the other thing is the dinner at my house. We're doing a dinner at my house with all of the members of the Mikey Show. The bidding right now for that is at $2,550, which is incredible, really incredible. And, you know, we really, really do want people to bid on that. We're kind of getting into kind of a bidding war on that, which I love. Right now it's at $2,550. Again. Dinner at my house with all the members of the show. My good friend Jeff, the owner of Pamplemousse Restaurant, is going to come to the house. And he's going to cook for you and do a Pamplemousse dinner. And he says that the more money we get, the better the wine will be. And he knows what he's doing as far as that goes. There's a very easy way to do this. There's a couple of easy ways to do it. One way is that you can text.
And it's very easy. You know, my son, Jake, is kind of what inspired me to do this. My son, Jake, was diagnosed with autism at Rady Children's Hospital, ADI, their Autism Discovery Institute. And here's the deal. If you'd like to do it by text messaging, you do it by opening up your text and typing in Jake at M. Jake at MOGIV.com. Jake at MOGIV.com. And all you do is where you would type in the message. Just put the monetary amount. You can put $5. You can put $20. You can put whatever you want. If you're a person that's listening right now that has the means. to be able to put a big amount, man, we'd love it. And there have been a couple of people that have stepped up. And I just want you to know what an incredible impact you will have by doing this. You're going to be a part of something really, really big. And it will just bless so many families if you are able to do that. If you're able to give a small amount, that's great. If you're able to give thousands of dollars.
That is great, and I'm really, really urging you and asking you to do that, to go to MikeyShow.com or to do that text thing to be able to get that going. And again, it'll send you back a text message with a code and a link, and it'll take you there. That's where you'll be able to put in all your credit card information. And let's get this thing just through the roof. through donations and also bidding on those auction items. And let's have, Jay, can you fill Jared in on what Randy is offering? Yeah, he wrote it down. Okay, cool, cool. He's the man. So we're going to get that added right now. Thank you. And, man, what a cool thing. No doubt. The bidding is just, you know, what people are donating right now has just, Absolutely touched Rebecca and I. Just how many people have gone on the text and done this. Jake at M-O-G-I-V dot com. Hey, Mikey, where should we start that package off at? That's a pretty awesome deal. It's a pair of tickets, you said? Four pack. It's a four pack. It's a four pack of tickets.
Yeah, dude, I think we should start the bid. And plus you get to go to dinner with Randy. I'll be out there and dinner's on me. Yeah. Wow. So nice. I think we should start it at how much? What do you think? I don't know. $300. $300? $300. Let's start at $300 and get a bidding war going on that. Come on. Let's just get that thing going. I can tell Randy will sit and talk baseball with you because he doesn't know me, and we just sat and talked baseball for about 15 minutes. Talk baseball. Talk food. Talk the weather. I do, too. I will sit and talk all day. And all they have to do, Mike, is, you know, I'll give you their certificate. They just call me personally, and we'll set up what game they want to go to. That's awesome. And we'll set it up. So great. Stepping up to the plate. Yeah. Oh, look at you. Throw in another strike. That's right. Well. Here's the deal. We are very, very close to wrapping this thing up. And we will have official numbers for you at the end of the program. It is 8.37 right now. We are on hour 26 and 37 minutes. One hour and 23 minutes left.
3,000 times better than I did about 10 minutes or about two hours ago. Oh, yeah. I wanted to murder somebody. I know. Two hours ago? Yeah. He just comes out and say it. I just say it. Yeah. He's there now. I was literally like, if I left, what would he do? Like, what would Mike do? If I got in my car and was sick, I can't do it, man. He'd probably be okay with it. No. No, I wouldn't be okay with it. But I will say this. I go through that every time I do it. There's a time. There comes a time where I go, I wonder if I just take it to the house, you know? Do you really think about it? Oh, yeah. I mean, it's tough, you know? About 1 a.m. for me. Yep. I was seething. 1 o'clock in the morning, it's tough. And you just got to get through it. Can I say something real quick? Yeah. We didn't fight. No. We didn't fight. You guys aren't done yet. Wait a minute. We're going to be fine. It would have been because of me. And we didn't. I love you guys. Wow. We have something pretty incredible right now. We have something pretty incredible. M1 Mike from Encinitas. Hey, how you doing, Mikey? Good, man. Go ahead and tell everybody what you were saying.
Well, okay, what I would like to do is I'd like to challenge everybody in this next hour and a half or so left of the show. I'll match whatever you guys raise from now until the end of the show up to $1,000. Somebody sends in $50, I'll match it. Somebody else sends in another $75, I'll match that too. That's great. That's great. Oh, my gosh. Wow. Up to $1,000. That's great. You're a saint. Thank you, man. That's great. I want to let people know, too, that any donation of $50... is going to get you the Mikey show, the Mikey-thon t-shirt, which is just awesome, man. And all I have to tell you is that Jared did it. It's so great. That's one of those really soft t-shirts, you know? Yeah, it is. I love those. Jedediah donated them. Yes. I love those. I know. Jedediah gave us to those free of charge. That's amazing. So nice. That's amazing. That way we can donate all the dollars raised to children. That's awesome. So, hey, if you want to give us a call, too, 570. Let me put you on hold, Mike, so that we can get your information, and we're all set up with that, okay? Thank you. Thanks, Mike. And, yeah, so Jay. I love you. Jay or Will. Yeah, we got Will on it. All right, cool. M1 Lopez, are you there? Yes, I'm here. What's going on? Not much. What would you call and say? Oh, well, I listen to you guys every morning.
Yeah, his phone's breaking up. Your phone's breaking up, bro. Oh, hold on a second. How's that? Is that any better? A little better. Okay. Yeah, well, she's had a baby call last night. Congratulations. Congrats. Congratulations. It's great. You can name her Steve. Yeah. Yeah, like I said, I was telling, I don't know who was screening the call. Will. Will. Yeah, like I said, you guys are doing this for a good cause, and you're doing a good thing. That's cool, man. Well, congratulations to you. That's very, very cool. Had a little girl last night. That's nice. Incredible. Okay, should we do, how would you guys feel? about maybe doing the buzzword. Oh, yeah. Let's do it. No? Oh, yeah, the top five. You ever just forget stuff? It's okay. You've been awake for a long time. We got the top five moments. Oh, yeah. We got the top five moments. Do I have them in any order? No. In any order? Just five funny moments that we had. Yeah, we did.
We had some pretty wacky things that happened on the Mikey show over the last year. And one of them was, I guess the best way to describe it would be alarming. It was Dave Matthews. You know, we have our very own Dave Matthews here in the studio at all times. Yeah, he's just always here in the studio. And he did something very unexpected one day. Should peanuts be banned from planes? Because, as you know, a lot of people have peanut allergies. I had no idea that it did. It's that strong. They better not ban peanuts on planes, man. They're going to piss Dave off. Really? Yeah. I wrote a song about it. Let's hear it. You better not ban my peanuts. You better not ban my peanuts. You better not ban, you better ban, you better not ban my peanuts. Maybe we get some decaf for you, Dave. Yeah. Dave Matthews. He just stopped him to scare all of us. That was very loud. Just heated. I think it was a protest song. Was it? Dave Matthews just ran in the studio, terrified me, and then he just ran right out.
Dave Matthews came in to fully embed himself into my nightmare. Oh, my gosh. You want to hear it again? No, no, no, no. No, no, no. You want to hear it one more time? All right, let's hear it one more time. One more time. I'm afraid. Oh, my gosh. You better not ban my peanut. You better not ban my peanut. That's terrifying. You better not, better not, better not, better not peanut. Oh, my gosh. Gorgeous. There it is. That was really a moment. Can I tell you that Mikey looked at me that day. I've never seen a look before or since like that. You looked at me like... Shocked, terror. You looked at me like, what? In the hell? Yeah. Were you thinking? Well, a little bit of the backstory on that is we were trying this game, which we've tried and failed a few times, called Gender Pyramid. Yes. And we started fighting on the air and arguing over what the rules were. And just, we had a really awkward, tense moment. Oh, yeah. And then Dave just popped up out of nowhere and came running in. Spoke out of school. Randy, thank you so much for coming in. Thank you. And thank you for that generous gift. Thank you very much.
Thank you so much. But L.O.B., yeah, you're right. It was a very, you know. Oddly. Well, and we talked to Dave about it after the show was over. And Dave said that he was just trying to, you know, add some levity. Trying to be dynamic. Yeah, just trying to be dynamic with a shocking song. Yes. That was just, you know. On the verge of, you know, a violent sounding song. Very aggressive. The number four moment. You may remember this. It was the spit cup insult. Falls apart on them. What are you doing? What? Lauren just stood. What's in there? Oh, she drank my dip cup. No! She didn't. Is she going to come back? I don't even see her. Go see me. Will you go check on her? Oh, she's going to kill me. She's going to kill me. Uh-oh, uh-oh. Is she back? She's gone. She is still coughing. Did you swallow L.O.B.? No, stop, Jay. Stop. Okay, okay. I just want to know. I'm sure a little bit better than that. Stop, you guys. So what are we going to do? How are we doing this? We're going to drink it? Well, he said that he would drink our spit, so why don't we all... If it makes you guys feel better, here. Down. This was your idea. No, it wasn't.
I just watched. Jay's bringing his in. I don't know if I can do this. He held it in there. Oh, gosh. Jay. Wait, this is mean. It wasn't my idea. It wasn't it? Go ahead. It was mine. Sorry, Liz. Oh, my gosh. This is mean and disgusting. He doesn't even care. He doesn't care. I do care, but you know what? That was so hideous. He drank all of our spit in a cup. In case you needed reminding how dynamic I can be. We drank a sip of water. We gargled and all spit it in a cup and then would drink it. Because Lauren drank his big cup. Just filthy. Now, this next one was one of my favorite moments. Eskimo Blue Waters, local musician.
comes into the studio and tries to plug her gigs. You know, Eskimo has tried her hand at quite a few things. You know, she's tried to be a singer. She's tried to be a producer. She's tried to be a ventriloquist. She's tried opera singer, ice cream maker, palm reader, magician, stand up comic, everything. Graphic artist. That's right. Model. Model. All of it. You know, she's really tried everything. Nothing's really stuck. But this was when she debuted Peanut. She was getting into ventriloquism. Her dummy. Eskimo Blue Water is a local musician. She's got the rocker look, you know, kind of a rock look, rock vibe. So what are you going to play today? What did you bring? Your acoustic? No, I didn't. I didn't bring my axe with me. What is that thing? That's Peanut. I just decided to kind of branch out now creatively. Are you? You know, I'd be happy to tell you what I do, but I think my friend Peanut here can tell you all about it. Is that what's in the box? Yeah. Isn't that right, Peanut? Oh, my God. You have a freaking puppet? Hey, my hair is... What is...
Mikey's on the floor. It's a dummy, Woods. I didn't know. No, no, you're a dummy. It's a wooden doll. No, ventriloquist. First of all, I'm not a dummy. Oh, my God. That's the worst ventriloquist I've ever seen. Ever. Really, Woods? Yeah, really. How many ventriloquists have you even seen? None. Oh, my God. Mikey is on the floor right now. He's out of his chair. He's on the floor. He's rolling. Almost peed my pants. Yes, you did. That's so funny. It was one of the greatest moments. Then this was definitely a listener favorite. Our station manager, Hoyle, rapped for the first time. Yes. Let's kick this mother one time. Let's do it, Hoyle. The city of Compton. Oh, what? Welcome, everybody, to the... Hello? Hello?
Give me a second. I got ahead of myself. I'm right now. You ready, Boyle? Now let me welcome everybody to the wild, wild west. The state that's untouchable like Elliot Nance. The town hits you like us. There's really quite a moment. Oh, man. Quite a moment. California. I will never forget that. I'll never forget that as long as I live. I know when Woods is loving something, when he's like gripping his chest. He'll start to grip his chest. Uh, and then this, this, uh, last moment, probably one of the most memorable phone calls we've ever had ever. I mean, and it, I'm letting you know right up front. One of the grossest things, one of the grossest things we've ever heard. Yeah. What was the topic? I mean, what were you talking about? We talked about, someone sent us an email about how they use their wife's razor. Right. That's what it was. Here we go.
Guy texted in a few days ago. He said, is it just me or do you use your wife's razor, too? I do not. M1LJ from the South Bay is on the line. Good morning. What's going on? Go on and use your wife's razor, no problem. Never use a strange woman's razor. Why? I had a guy about 20 years ago came to work with the damnedest situation on his mouth, face, lips. Oh, my God. Send him to the doctor. He had a yeast infection going on. Nightmare, nightmare, nightmare. I'm in a nightmare. I need to wake up. I'm in a nightmare. I need to wake up. Oh, my God. This is not an urban legend. This guy on the phone right now worked with this man that came to work with a yeast infection on his face. Oh, my God.
Gosh. Did you see that eating Wonder Bread? What is that? Ew. What? That line is disgusting. It's so hideous. It's so hideous. I'm going to throw it off. He used a strange girl's razor. Bread face. And he used it on his face. Oh, my. So gross. All right. All right, let's update people. 9.30 is your last chance because at 9.30, we're going to take off the Silver Sun pickup signed poster. Mews, and they're signed flat. The Weird Al signed poster. The Cage the Elephant signed guitar. The Alice in Chains signed guitar. The signed boxing glove from Pacquiao. The Gary Hoey signed guitar. Flowers for a year from Pro Flowers and the E-Grill. 9.30, it stops. Then at 9.45.
We are going to stop bidding on the LT signed football, on the Drew Brees signed jersey, the Luis Castillo signed football, the Switchfoot signed Hello Hurricane, and the Switchfoot signed Christmas package, and the Big Babe blankets, nine feet by five feet. And also, the dinner at my house. We got a dinner at my house with all of us here on the show, and Jeff from Pample Moose coming over and cooking for us. What? I'm just hanging in there. I got the giggles like a madman. Do you? Oh, dude. Everything is funny right now. Oh, I am so tired. I am so sleepy. The top of that. That's how I just slayed me. What? Did you write that? Yes, she did. I know. I was like. It says, ever just not get any barbecue? Lord, I didn't get any. Did you get any?
No, but you got to get in there, man. You can't wait around. You got to just get in there. Well, M1s need to be first before us. Yeah, absolutely. No, I was just being, I'm giddy. 27 hours in. 27 hours. 27 hours. That's funny. They brought me barbecue. That's awesome. Ladies just don't eat or something. I'm not a lady. I watched. We were the only three. I watched him place it. Give it to Chubbs here. Personally. I know. I watched him place it right in front of Woods and I thought, that looks good. It was delicious. How about some pretzel crisps? I love these pretzels. You want some? They are so good. You won't like this kind. Those are so good. This is so good. Oh, everything wants. How about some of those donuts?
Oh, yeah. I've been waiting for you to eat. You haven't had any of that. Delicious. That looks good. I feel... The glazed ones are outside, too. I feel like... I'm like... My skin is, like, crawling, and it's the weirdest thing ever. Can I sleep in the back of your car? Well, here's what's so funny. I talked to Woods about it, and he was like, Dude, don't worry about it. Kids... been in college before, right? Kids stayed up. Kids stayed up before. Stay up for days. Yeah, I'm like, well, dude, this is different, man. I mean, it really is. It's Italian. Dude, don't even worry about it. Because it's like, you know, you can go to the bathroom, but you have to hurry back. And it's like, you know, your mind doesn't stop. I have a theory. It would be, I think it would be easier if we had the normally scheduled breaks. Obviously, if it was just like, hey, we got a break, got a break. It'd be, it would be. Totally different. Totally. Psychologically, you're like, there's no system I'm in. I kept sitting here and I'm going, it's like I'm looking down in the abyss. And I'm like, I can't see anything. It's just black. I don't know when I get to get up. The first couple hours, I was like telling everyone out in the other room, like all the other cast members, I'm like, I don't even know what to think, what to do. I don't know how to conduct myself. I'm in this really weird space. We planned out.
28 hours of stuff. I mean, met for hours. And then it's like, you've got to have questions because there's so many things planned. And you can't, like, do I ask on the air? Like, what do you do? We used about an hour of that stuff. We'll be golden for a while then. Hey, take it. Use it next year. We got weeks worth of meetings covered. Oh, yeah. Has anybody been with us the whole time listening? M1s? 570-1949. Have you been listening the entire time? There's some people that... Raise your hand if you've been here the whole time. Oh, wow. You've got studs, man. You've got some studs. I love you guys. Been here the whole time. Gary Hoey is going to be coming into the studio in a little bit. Yeah. Playing for us. Let's do... Probably our last legal. KBCT San Diego. We're listening to the Mikey Thon for Rady Children's Hospital. FM 94.9. The following takes place between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. M1 Chris from Oceanside. How you doing? Hey, I'm sorry. I did fall asleep between 2 and 6. Oh, no. Well, remember, I told you I was getting sick. Yeah, on your birthday. Yeah, I know. It's my birthday today. I'm 44 years old. 44, man. Yeah, 44. Good number. I'm getting closer to Jay.
There you go. There you go, man. That's the last thing you want to do. Jasper? Jasper? Where's that dang Jasper? Why is that? I'm just busting stones. You think Jay is anywhere near getting tired of hearing Jasper? Just hearing us imitate him with Jasper. Jasper, it's Daddy. I'm coming home. Turn down my bed. That's right. I know I sound like oil, but it's all right. It's the only voice I know. It's Papa. Where's old Yeller? Turn down my bed. I know you don't know what turning down the bed means, because we haven't used it since 1935. I sure do miss you, Jasper. That was my senior year in high school. Hell of a year. Best friend chicks that year. Get the lantern oil right in, Jasper. Pretty fun being in the class of 86. I'm talking about 1886. Anyway. You remember the old Gold Rush? Of course you don't. You're only seven. Ever get roasted up real good at the end of the last hour of the show? Yes. Oh, my God. Every day of the week. Woodsy gets it all the time. Yeah, but he deserves it. Do I? You can take a turn. It's fantastic. How are you guys holding up? Oh, dude. I'm delirious. I'm tired. You can do it. All I know is I'm going to get home.
I'm going to take a nice hot shower. Oh, that's the best. And when do you come back on the air again? Come back on the air. I don't even know the date. 2012. It's like the second or the third. Yeah. It's the third. Awesome. Christmas break. You guys have done an awesome job. I really appreciate it. And again, from a father of a 10-year-old autistic child, I really appreciate what you've done. You bet, man. Absolutely. I should be applauding you, but I can't set the phone down. All right. Hey, so is Garrett around? Garrett, I'm right here. What do you want? He stayed here all night. What do you want? But he wasn't in the studio, so I don't know where he was. Hey, fire your questions at me, pal. Tell him, you know, during Thanksgiving break, you know, I was taking a plane flight from Philly. Oh, my God. I had a layover in Detroit, you know, go to Seattle to get back to San Diego, for crying out loud. Oh, my gosh. It was ridiculous. Never find those guys again. Good thing was I was on the plane with Tommy. Fired him four times. Hired him back. You're hired. You're fired. You're fired. You're fired. You're fired. You're fired. Sorry, buddy. You're fired. Don't worry. I'll hire you back. Thanks for the call, Chris. We love you, buddy. He's going to punch me in the back of the head. Gary, where are you? M1 Mr. Dodgeball listened the whole time. What up, guys? You guys are freaking amazing. Thank you, dude. Love you guys. Love you guys. Love.
I carried my radio around with me at work, listened to you guys on the internet, even listened to you guys while I was watching the Charger game with the sound and listening to you guys. That's great, man. Kept it on all night. When I went to bed, I had to put my kids to bed. I listened to it and tried to stay up as late as I possibly could and doze in and out. And every time I woke up, I made sure I turned it up a little bit and listened to you guys. So I had to get up this morning and listen to you guys on the way to work. After work, listen to you. Listen to you now. That's great, man. Love that. Thank you, dude. We appreciate it. M1 Virgin Nikki from Escondido. What's up? Hi, guys. Hi. So you guys are awesome. It's been an awesome 28 hours because for people like us that can't get enough of you guys, this has been the coolest day because we get to listen to you guys for all day. So I missed from 1 to 5, but I've been listening the whole time. That's awesome. Thank you. Thank you, Nikki. I have a story really fast. So we were going to go. I was trying all day yesterday to somehow get down there, but it was a busy day. And so we were listening when L.O.V. sang Santa Baby. My daughter started to cry because she's like, why are we not there?
