The Mikey Show finished its first year with a chaotic 28-hour Mikey-thon benefiting Rady Children's Hospital's autism work. Swan and Juan Vinder argued that the fundraiser mattered because diagnosis, family support, and gratitude can change how parents respond to their children, while Dave called from Iraq to add the perspective of a Black Hawk crew chief listening overseas. Mikey, Garrett, Woods, Lauren, Sienna, Jay, and Rebecca revisited the cast's unlikely formation, including Woods's police trouble and the five-hour Pamplemousse dinner where the group first bonded. After revealing a $23,940 total, Mikey marked the anniversary of his firing from Rock 105 by explaining how the new show, his colleagues, and his faith replaced addiction and hopelessness with confidence and purpose.
What happened, in order
An autism parent's thanks
Swan, the parent of a seven-year-old boy with autism, thanked the show for supporting families through Rady Children's Hospital and stressed the importance of diagnosis and help.
Woods and the police
The crew recalled how Garrett defended hiring Woods despite alarming background-check details and how Woods casually disclosed a police incident after Sienna's wedding.
The cast's first dinner
The newly assembled cast met for the first time at Pamplemousse, talked for five hours after a ninety-minute dinner, and immediately discovered the chemistry that became the show.
A Black Hawk listener
Dave called from Iraq, explained that he was a Black Hawk helicopter crew chief, and said he streamed the show from his living quarters.
A father rethinks gratitude
Juan Vinder said the autism fundraiser made him stop taking his three healthy children for granted and resolve to become a better father and person.
The awful holiday tradition
The cast played a bizarre annual holiday recording that Hillary loved so much she cried laughing, then compared storing it away to packing Christmas decorations in the attic.
Twenty-eight hours of chaos
The exhausted crew recapped the marathon's strangest stunts, including getting hit in the groin, being wrapped in plastic, performing blues, and appearing in a red dress.
The total beats the goal
The Mikey-thon revealed a cash total of $23,940 for Rady Children's Hospital, far exceeding the show's earlier hopes of raising $10,000 to $15,000.
Mikey's turnaround
On the anniversary of losing his Rock 105 job, Mikey described moving from addiction, despair, and low self-esteem to friendship, confidence, and Christian hope.

Oh, so we're so sad that we couldn't come, but we love you guys and you're awesome. That's awesome. Thank you, Nikki. So cute. We love you. Love you too, guys. Thanks a lot. Okay, so let's talk about the last year because, you know, we're thinking about it and we're going, man, here we are close to being on the air for a year. It's been a heck of a year. What was our first day on the air? February 1st. February 1st. February 1st. And for a long time, we counted the shows. Oh, I'm still counting. Are you really? Yeah. How many? I don't have my computer. Oh, yeah. Garrett came up behind him. That's funny. Garrett. Garrett, where are you going? Don't go far. Tell us some stories about old time radio. Where have you, where, because you stayed the whole time, but where were you? I've been outside. I've been in here. I had to leave during Waterworld because, you know. Well, it's Waterworld. It was kind of. I couldn't take it. Lucky you. So, let's see. I went over to Ralph's. I got some cleaning products for the studio. Nice. I'm cleaning my office. I hung out outside for a bit. Yeah. And I've been listening to you guys and laughing my butt off. You haven't slept yet either? No, I've been up since I woke up at 530 yesterday. Wow. I haven't been awake as long as you guys, but. You didn't take any cat naps or anything? Mm-hmm. Wow. Man.
That's pretty awesome. I'm going to be hating life later today. Oh, yeah. Because I got stuff to do. Oh, no. Are you going to be here for the coup d'etat weekend? We got to get that started, yeah. Oh, wow. You got a busy weekend. You ever just go like 48 hours straight? Yeah. Get up and sleep? You ever just be like a meth guy but not be on meth? But not be on meth? You ever a natural meth addict? You ever seen a grown man naked? You ever been to a Turkish prison? You ever... Watch movies about gladiators. Tommy, you're fired. Thanks, I just got it stuffed. Where's Jay? He's taking a nap. He's taking a nap. Yes, sir, what can I do for you? There he is. I was playing Papa Shot. What? I got a high score. 47. He really wasn't. I wasn't playing Papa Shot. Hey, our friend Josiah is asking if we can wish his... Wait a minute. Wish them a happy... Oh, Bailey's seventh birthday, his daughter's, Bailey's seventh birthday is today, and he wanted us to sing for her. He knows Woods does the thing. Can you do it? Do I? Yeah. Yeah, well, let's try it. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. I have a message for Josiah, if you're listening. Josiah?
Keep the $10. I'm not going to fill out that football pool because I'm too tired. It's my gift to the pot. Enjoy it. And I love you. And thanks for dropping it off. Want to just give your wife a grocery list? Ever just use a multi-million dollar radio station as your personal telephone? Do you? Look, we've got an hour left. We're doing good, guys. We're doing good. Let's just lay our cards on the table. Buzzword? Listen. If you want to give to Rady Children's Hospital and their Autism Discovery Institute, text Jake at M-O-G-I-V dot com. And just put the amount that you want to donate. If you want to donate $10, just type 10.
You don't have to put a decimal point with zeros and all that stuff. At the end of the show, we're going to tell you how much we've raised. Uh, we're kind of waiting until the end. We want to know, we want to let you know that you have 25 minutes left for Silver Sun pick. These are the auction items. Silver Sun pickups, uh, Muse, Weird Al, Cage the Elephant, Alice in Chains, uh, signed boxing glove from Pacquiao, uh, the Gary Hoey signed guitar, flowers for a year from, uh, Pro Flowers. Pro Flowers. And an e-grill. Uh, At 945, we will stop the bidding for the dinner at my house with all of us here on the show. And Jeff from Pample Moose coming by to do Pample Moose food. The LT signed football. The Drew Brees signed a jersey that's framed. Luis Castillo signed football. All the switch foot stuff and the 9x5 big babe blanket. So get in on those as soon as you can because the bidding is going to stop pretty soon. Okay. What should we do? Do you want to do buzzword? Well, I thought you said let's talk about the last year, February 1st. Oh, yeah. What was the... Oh, you don't have it. You don't have it, LLB. How many shows? We're on about just shy of 200, I believe. That's awesome. I remember our first month of meetings, and I'm still not great at ideas and being creative and stuff. But I remember sitting there going...
How the hell am I going to do this for a living and come up with stuff that we're going to do on the show? You do. Sometimes. You do. Sometimes. I'm better on the fly. You know that. Yeah. But, you know, I'm trying. You're doing good. I'm trying. You're doing really good. It's not easy. I'm not a creative dude. Yeah, you are. Am I? I love working with you guys. That's the best. It's fun. It's not even a job. Maybe you steal money from your company every day. Really? I can pay for this? Beats roofing houses. Oh, my gosh, dude. It beats anything I've ever done. It beats work. It's, you know, and it's interesting. When I'm hanging out with my professional baseball buddies. Oh, wow. That's kind of strange. They're really interested in what it is that we do. Yeah. And I'm really interested in what they do. And they're like, oh, man, I'd love to be on the radio. What? What's up? Jock's never. 100%. Tell me something I don't know. 570-1949-M1-Swan from El Cajon. Swanee. Swanee. How are you? Hi, guys. How are you? Good. Hi. Happy holidays. Thank you. You too. I just wanted to give you guys a call and thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you're doing for the autism community and what you're doing for the kids. And that's what it's all about is the kids. And just listening to Rebecca and listening to Mike and being a parent of a seven-year-old boy that has autism.
You know, it really touches my heart. And I know that it's a hard thing to, for one, get that initial diagnosis for your child. But it's so important to take that first step, you know, to get your child diagnosed, deal with all the emotions that come with it, and then move forward and look for ways to help your child. And places, you know, like Rady's Children's Hospital, you know, all the other. Things that are available to help kids is so important for these little guys. And what you guys are doing, I mean, it just touches my heart. Thank you. I thank God for each one of you guys. Thank you so much, Swan. Thank you very much. We appreciate that. Just cry all day. Just cry all day. Man, I'm telling you, you know, it's really been an amazing year. And, you know, we have thank yous that I have planned at the... at the end of the program today. But I do want to take a moment and I'm going to thank him at the end too. But I just want to thank Garrett. Garrett has been just so supportive of our show and just done so much and taken some bullets, man. Fighting for us. You guys are a rock. Taken some bullets and has believed in the Mikey show. And I'll tell you what, man.
I will always remember, in fact, I think I have it saved somewhere on my Facebook. I didn't have Hillary's personal email address, but she was on Facebook. And, you know, it was a year ago. It was a point where, you know, I was shopping the show and sent an email to Hillary. And said, hey, do you know if there's anything going on? Is there any openings? And I mean, literally anything. And, you know, she texted back and she said, you know, I don't know. And she said, but I'll mention it to Garrett. And Garrett has always been supportive. He's just always been supportive. And from the very beginning, we're coming up on when you and I first met. Yeah. It's just been a very fun year. It's been a very fun year. It's been amazing, dude. It's been fun. It's been challenging. There have been big highs. There have been some... Articles. Some struggling lows. Stuff like that. But I'll tell you what, man. It's rewarding. It's been really rewarding. You ever just field phone calls? Yeah. About your train wreck that you hired? Yeah.
Guy's sitting there in pajamas right now. I know. He's wearing pajamas. You ever convince HR to hire someone? They're like, what? This is what the conversation was like. I remember this conversation with Garrett. Dude, if you really believe in this guy and you really think he's the right guy for the job, I'm telling you, we'll go to bat for him. Garrett, I'm telling you. This guy is a real deal. He's the real deal. I'm telling you, he's the real deal. Okay, dude, I'm just telling you, a couple things came up, but don't worry, we're going to get it taken care of. A couple. Just a couple. Jail. Just a few. You know, a couple things. A couple. Listen, the guy's not a, he's not, he doesn't, what do you say, what's that phrase? What's up, dude? Yeah. And so, and so I will never forget the night after, or the day after Sienna's wedding. Yeah. Woods is, like, very casually mentions to me. He's just in conversation. He goes, hey, so anyway, you want to get some lunch this afternoon? And I had some thing happen last night with the police. And hey, also, are you going to blah, blah, blah, blah? He told me about it at my wedding. I was like, what did you do? I knew. I was like, what's up with you? You're weird. Oh, yeah. It was terrible. All anxious. Vomiting. I didn't think he was that strange that night.
I told him it was going to be good for the show. I said, hey. Any publicity is bad. I said, it'll be good. Don't worry about it. Hey, listen. Since then, guy's been an honor student. Lock yourself up. And it's funny. The gentleman that I had words with that night, he wouldn't care. He's saving. And he's a hell of a guy. And I apologized the next day. And he apologized. And I told him, dude, I was being a drunken A. You know, just an a-hole to you. I'm sorry. And he goes, dude, I was being a drunken elitist. And it just wasn't a good combo. And we're buddies. He writes me private messages. I write him private messages. We're friends now. That's cool. We're friends on Facebook, too. Yeah. And he listens to our show. And he likes us. And he wrote me that he was going to be here tonight. And I learned, obviously, a real valuable lesson. And that's just, you had a gig like this?
Just lock yourself in your house. You know what I mean? Go home. Go to bed. It's not worth it. I'll tell you this, though. One of the coolest things, I think, in my job as the PD was, number one, knowing that Mike was going to be able to come over here. And then finding out that we were going to have the chance to start something new together. And going through that whole process with you. And talking about and thinking about what you wanted to do and where you wanted to go. And regardless of your colorful background, I remember the very first time Mike was describing you to me. And he said, yeah, you should talk to him. Get on the phone. And so I got your number. I called you. I can't remember exactly the circumstances, but it was pretty late at night, your time. And we had like maybe a five-minute conversation. Got done talking to you. I remember calling Mike back going, I love this guy. He's a maniac. And just the whole thing, you know, as you work through the process of determining what you wanted to do with the new Mikey show, you know. And I'll tell you what, man. You did such a great job of selecting a group of talented and interesting and engaging and charismatic people. But on top of it.
These are really good people. I mean, I love each and every one of you, and I have no problem standing in the fire for you every day. Thank you, man. Garrett's on our front line. Hundreds. Every day. It's awesome. You know, the other story that I have talked about before, but it's one of my favorite things, was we had all passed our background checks. We had all passed our drug tests and we were all basically hired. But we hadn't all met. I mean, Lauren hadn't met Woods. Sienna hadn't met Woods. Jay hadn't met Woods. Lauren didn't know. I hadn't met anybody. You hadn't met anybody except for me. And so I wanted to get us all together. And so I called Jeff over at Pample Moose and I said, hey, man.
I know that this is a lot to ask. I said, but I want to, you know, I'm getting a new crew together, and I want to get us all together so that we can all meet and, like, just talk and get us together. And he goes, don't worry about it. I got a perfect place for you right in the back, and nobody will be there. Follow the back of a truck. Yeah. Nobody will see anything. You go in there, and we'll do everything back there. We go to Pamplemousse and he has us in this like wine cellar behind all this wine. There's this room with a big boardroom table and like boardroom chairs. And we and that was where we all met for the first time. And the dinner reservations were for five. I think six. They're for six.
Made everyone push it up to five. Oh, yes. That's right. And then I got stuck in traffic because Garrett was like, get over there today. Get your drug test done. Get this through. Lauren was over an hour late. Oh, yeah. No. We're like, where's this girl, Lauren? I was right under an hour late. Like, where's Paula Abdul? I know. Why isn't Paula Abdul here yet? Yes. So we got there. Lauren came in and we had dinner. We finished dinner in about an hour and a half. Yep. And we stayed there for five hours. It's incredible. And we just, we did what we do here every day. We just did that. Yeah. And the only reason that we left after five hours. Oh, you have the picture? When we left. We should post that. Yeah, we should. Yes, we should. It was the five of us right after dinner. We took a picture. Rebecca has it. Babe, can I send this to myself? Okay. I was so nervous. Jamie wasn't here with me. Everybody else's had, you know, BFMC was there. Todd was there. And both of the guys, I'll never forget it. They were looking at me like, who is this? And I'm looking at him. I'm like, and within five minutes, Todd and Todd and I, especially the first night, we're like, we became buddies. And then.
The FMC after, man. And, dude, you guys are my family. Yeah. We stayed there till 10 or 11. Yeah. And the only reason that we left was because the servers kept uncomfortably coming in. Like, okay. Anything else? You guys still here? Guys, is there anything that we can get you? Is there anything at all that we can get you? Water, need more water? Third round of coffee. Yeah, I'll try to make it to that party. I don't know what time I'll get out of here. Yeah. It all depends on, you know. You guys good? You good? Hey, can we get you guys a third dessert or anything? You know, I know you guys have already ordered two desserts. Are you guys hungry again? You guys hungry? Yeah, you want me to just bring another entree? You guys want me to bring the menus back out? It was awesome. More truffle flies? Yeah, we fly. Don Knox brought us truffle flies. Jasper loves them. Every kid talk anymore. So we walk out.
And when we walked out of, you know, out the front door, we're all going to our cars. And Rebecca said, hey, guys, guys, guys, can we get you all together and just take a picture real quick? And that's the picture that she has. And it was the first night that we had ever met all together. I just looked at that picture. It's a great picture. So cool. I remember Woods goes, come here, Jersey. Yeah, that's right. Is this going to be my new nickname on the show? Yeah, that was. Before the belly came in, pregnant belly, everyone just looking great. You ever literally put on 40 pounds since you start work? Because I did. Oh, where'd it go? L.O.B.? I didn't do anything. L.O.B. Oh, there's no nudies in there. Oh, wow. You're just a strange guy. I can't. Let me see. L.O.B. did something. Are there Michael nudes in here? Yes. Are you sure? Oh, my gosh. Look at that. There's nudes. There we are. Right there. There we are. Okay. Don't do that. I've put on 40 pounds. Oh, wow. Since then. Let's take some more calls. Wow. We have a call from M1 Dave. And Dave is calling from Iraq. Wow. Dave, are you there? Hey, what's up, guys? How are you? I'm doing good. I'm doing good, man. Just doing my time over here. You are in the Army. That's correct. Yeah, that's correct. And are you streaming us online?
Yeah, I was able to get you. I've been able to get you guys online. We get some pretty decent internet connection here in our little chews that we live in. What time is it there now? It is 820 on Friday evening. 820? 820 tonight. So can you give us any lottery numbers that are going to happen later today or anything like that? You know what, dude? I wish I could, but I was out flying all day, so I couldn't tell you. What do you fly? I'm a crew chief on a Black Hawk helicopter. Oh, wow. Wow. You're a badass. Yeah. Kind of puts into perspective what I do for a living. Right? Wow, you fly Black Hawk helicopters. That is so badass. I bet Dave has stayed up for 28 hours. I wish I could have, but yeah, I had to go to work and stuff. I bet he's done it before. In your time. And not cried about it like a little girl. Right. Damn it.
That's pretty awesome. That's pretty awesome. Well, Dave, thank you. It's a lot of fun, man. I enjoy it. Hey, man, thank you for calling us and checking in. Thanks for everything you do, brother. Yeah, thanks for your service. Hey, you know, I appreciate, I love you guys' show, man. I catch it as much as I can. And I think it's great what you guys are doing with the Rady Children's Hospital with the autism. And, you know, I wish you guys the best and happy holidays and Merry Christmas to all you guys. You too. I hope the rest of the show goes well for you. Thank you, man. We appreciate it. Thank you very much. M1 Van Winder from Carlsbad. Is that right? It's Juan Vinder. It's Juan Vinder. Juan Winder? Juan Vinder. What's up, guys? What's going on? What's he showing his tramp stamp? In your honor. Juan Vinder. I wanted to tell you guys thank you, first of all. I kind of missed the boat on this whole show. The 28-hour show. I thought it was for fun and games. It took until this morning to hear Rebecca and you talking about Jake. You know, I kind of feel selfish, you know. Over my life, I had two beautiful daughters that probably didn't deserve at one point. And then I have a son that's saved my life. And they've been perfectly healthy, beautiful kids. I couldn't even imagine what you guys go through. And we take it so for granted every day. And, you know, there's people right next to us that struggle with this. And just even Woodsy, you know, all of them have to go through just to have a child. Don't get me, dude. It's going to make me work much harder every day to be a better dad and just be a better person.
I appreciate you guys for that. And one last thing. Thank you for all the incredible friends you guys have given me over the last year. Half of them are there supporting you guys today. But I want to thank you guys for everything you do. It's more than just a personality show and a radio show. It's much more than that. Thank you guys for everything. Thanks, buddy. Thank you, man. We appreciate it. Thank you, man. His little guy was out there dancing. Oh, yeah. He was the cutest kid. He was so cute. He was running. I know. He was running around. M1 Brady. M1 Brady. Oh, such a dog. He had on that cute little hat. Oh, yeah. Oh, beanie. Let's see. M1 Rosarito at the border. How are you? Hey, how's it going, Mikey? How's everybody doing? Doing good. How are you? I just want to thank you guys. I'm doing great. I just want to thank you guys because I'm here like three to five hours every day. I don't know why the border is getting crazier, but, you know, you guys get me through this. You know, you make me laugh. Sometimes, you know, with the sad stories and make you cry. But I just want to say, if it wasn't for you guys, I don't know how I would get through this every day. Thank you, man. Like a year or almost, or 10 months, that's been going on. Thank you very much. Thank you. We appreciate that. We appreciate that. We're coming up on the close of the first ever FM 94.9, Mikey Thon. And, man, I'll tell you what, you get to the end of this thing and...
You're just running on fumes, you know? Okay, so we are just about five minutes away from closing the auction on the Silver Sun Pickup signed poster, the Mews signed flat, the Weird Al signed poster, the Cage the Elephant signed guitar, the Alice in Chains signed guitar, the signed boxing glove from Manny Pacquiao, the Gary Hoey signed guitar, the flowers for a year from... Pro Flowers and the eGrill. That will all stop in five minutes. I just wanted to ask, I saw a couple of people wondering, I know that the auction items are closing, but people are requesting that you leave the donation open through the holiday break because people may still want to donate. That would be great. Can we do that, Jared? Okay, cool. Yeah, Jared says yeah. Jared ever just take care of business? Absolutely. Every second of the day. Let me see. Okay, so that stuff is coming down at 9.30. Here are the things that you will not be able to bid on after 9.45. So you have approximately 20 minutes to bid on the dinner at my house. That will be with the entire Mikey show.
And right now, the bidding on that is at $2,550. Nice. And if you want to do that, that'll be dinner at my house. It'll be the entire cast of the show and Jeff from Pample Moose coming out to cook dinner for all of us. This is the other stuff that's coming down at 945. The LT signed football. The Drew Brees signed jersey that's framed. The Luis Castillo signed football. The Switchfoot signed Hello Hurricane. The Switchfoot signed Christmas package. And a nine by five foot blanket from Big Babe Blanket. Oh, it is a good one. Now, this is the email I got about the stuff for Switchfoot. a signed Hello Hurricane Collectors deluxe edition book, and a 2010 Christmas deluxe package that has a sweatshirt, 2011 calendar, a signed Christmas card, and the Eastern Hems EP. And so all that is so, so cool, man. And that is from the guys at Switchfoot that wanted to do that for us. Grammy nominees. Yep. Yep.
Want to do that for us. So, man, please get on there. Get those get those bids in. Let's drive that up. Hopefully we can really drive the bidding up on that in the next 15 minutes. Gary Hoey should be on his way in right now. And hopefully we'll be able to talk to Gary. Ten pages of material. Ten. pages of material. Honestly, I know you guys have said that, but I've looked at this thing. We really did get through the majority of what we had planned. We did. We got through a bunch of it. It's good to have leftovers. Let's see. Did we do the... Did I have a stack of stuff that we still had? You have another set of TomTom. You have another set of kazoo that tune? Yes. We have another set. Yeah, that's right. You want to do it? Where is it? Yeah, let's do that. Wait a minute. I have another kazoo that tune? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. No, I see it. I see it. Okay, let's do it. 570-194-9 if you want to do kazoo that tune. And all you have to do is tell us, title or artist, of the song that we're kazooing.
So call us right now, and we will play Kazoo That Tune. What do we have to give away, Jay? Sea World? I think it's Sea World. Car show or Sea World? Chicken dinner? Hey, can you save a quadriplet X t-shirt for the Mikey-thon for me? For a friend of yours. A septuplet X, an octuplet XL. T-shirt of the... For a friend. For a friend of mine. For a friend of mine. Auto show. We have auto show. Sweet. Jay is mine. Hey. Dude, I can't read your lips. Can't you? Oh, boy. Here, I'll turn your mic off. Come here. Yes. Okay, there you go. That's totally different what you wrote down. Yeah, we figured it out. Hey, Jasper. Mm-hmm. I miss you, Jasper. Daddy's coming home. M1 Boost from San Diego. Are you ready to play? I am ready to play. All right. Woods is going to kazoo a song for you. You got 20 seconds, and all I need is title or artist. Here we go. Do I need more? Iron Man. Yeah. Come on. That is Iron Man. Of course it is. It's a very easy one. Hang on the line, please. I should have done this part. Yeah. They were scared to death of a song when they were a little kid. I was like, ooh.
I checked that record out from the library and was like, oh, what's that? Let's see. M1, Live the Life in Escondido. Are you there? I'm there, man. All right, dude. You ready to do this? Let's do it. All right. I'm going to be kazooing a song for you. I hope I remember how it goes. That's a white stripe. Yeah. That's correct. Nice job. Yeah. Very good. Your winner, Hang on the Line. Yeah. All right. Let's get another one. We got M1 Taylor on the line from San Diego. Are you there? Really? Taylor, are you there? I'm here. How are you? I'm good. How are y'all doing? I'm good. Is this the same Taylor? Wait a minute. Are you, like, having a good day? Wait. Do you like having a boyfriend? Is this the Taylor that was interviewed by Woods the other day? Oh, no. Not the same Taylor. Okay. So you don't, like, have to do stocking? Shut up.
So you are not... You're stalking. Is it you? You can't fire me if I leave like 30 minutes early. You're stalking. You're stalking. No, you don't. No, you don't. No, you're stalking. We did that for an hour. I know. It was so funny. Let's come back. Taylor, we're going to have Sienna. She picked me. That's right. She picked you. Didn't you, Taylor? I love you, Taylor. I love you, too. All right, Sienna, are you ready? What song am I singing again? Go ahead. Who is that? You tell us. That's your job. That's the game. You sure this isn't the same Taylor? It sounds like the same Taylor. And she said, oh, my God, who is that? Sounds like the same Taylor.
Okay, ask her where her boyfriend's from. I know. Where your boyfriend's from? Feel about you, about you now, something like that. Dude, can you give me a title or artist? There's another little hint. There's a winding. And then, oh, I got a song, but I can't. It's the same, Taylor. It is. It is. Taylor, you don't know? No, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. What if she could sing it? I feel bad. Taylor, you sang it. Taylor, you sang it. So I'm going to give it to you. You wesley wear it. Yeah. Are you just giving prizes away like a crazy person? She was able to sing along to it, you know? Yeah. Could have been a dude. She was sorry. As long as she was sorry. She was really sorry. I thought it was kind of cute. I'm sorry if you're sorry. Taylor, hang on the line, okay?
Thank you. 25 minutes left. Today's gonna be the day that they're gonna throw it back to you. Never get tired of this one. By now, you should have somehow realized what you gotta do. I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do. Ever just run into your microphone? A couple times. I've done it like three times. Jasper? He's just smacking his head against the microphone. Jasper, Jasper, Jasper, Jasper, Jasper. I miss you, Jasper. I miss you, Jasper. M1 Country Rebel from Freepoint, Illinois. Are you ready? I am ready, Mikey. You got 20 seconds to identify title or artist from LOB. Here we go. Let's do this. Oh, wow. Do you know what that is, M1 Country Rebel? I do. It's California, no doubt about it, with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg. Yeah. There was also a cameo appearance. Beats were done in Oakland at 4-1-1 beat live. Boyle, it's your song. I know it is. You don't have to tell me that. Break it off. California. California. It's California. California. Well, this is a story about the Wild Wild. Boyle, wait for it. Wait for it.
I do that every time. The city of Compton. In the city. City by the bay. Oh, my God. He's making a thing. Now, this is a story. No, no. Wait, it's coming. It's coming. You want me to cue you? Why don't you all just leave me alone? Here you go. Now, this is a story of the Wild Wild West. Elliot Nair. All right, hang on the line, country rubble. M1 Snowman from Carlsbad. Are you there? Yeah, Jasper. You want Jasper or Jay? Snowman. Snowman. I'm here. Oh, there you are. There you are. Okay. What, Mikey? You got 20 seconds, Jay. Shut up. There you go. Jay, go ahead. Back off that mic a little bit. Oh, wow. There you go. Okay. That's it. That's it. That's all I get, huh? Yeah. Lucy in the Sky. Oh, wow. That's all you needed. Well done. No, maybe don't play around. Jay's is so high-pitched. That's right. Yes, we're his favorite. Hang on a minute, snowman. Oh, wow. Eat marshmallow pie. There you go.
We have five minutes left until we close out the bidding. And so you can we have closed out the bidding and some stuff already. So if you still want to bid on the dinner at my place with the show and Jeffrey coming over from Pamplemousse and cooking for us, you can do that for the next six minutes. LT signed football six more minutes. Drew Brees signed jersey framed the next six minutes. Luis Castillo signed football, the switch foot stuff, and the big babe blanket nine by five. And also the Randy Jones stuff, right? Yeah. Which is great. Started 300 bucks for that. That's a steal. Incredible. So get on that. The bidding is all going to stop very soon. And we're coming up at the very end. of a 28-hour broadcast. This one was taxing. Shaking. Are you? Woods has his sunglasses in his pajamas. He's hanging there. Weird. I'm going to try to ride home. Will you guys be my wingman? I'm going to try to drive home. No, dude. You're a cougar, and I'm Maverick, and I just stay on your wing. Take me all the way in. That's not safe for other people. No, it isn't.
We got you covered. How are you getting home, Jay? I am riding with my wife and son. Oh, good. Jasper? Is her? Not little Jasper. Finnegan. Finnegan? Finnegan? Oh, Finn. Oh, wow. Finn? Where's Liberty? Kim? Is Maddie coming? You got a Finn for yourself. It's too bad we have a whole two-week break here because I don't have to hear this. Maybe you guys just forget about it while we're gone. Yeah, maybe you never have to hear that again. You will. You will, my friend. Oh, man. I get it. Jasper? I love it. So, here's something that we have to do. Because it's really the last time we get to until the day after Thanksgiving next year. We have to enjoy this one last time. Oh, wow.
For some reason right now, it feels good to me. It does. It's sentimental. It is. Was it Sienna that was walking through the building the other day and somebody, we were playing this. Oh, yeah. But we weren't talking, you know, like we had our mics off and stuff. We signed off. We had signed off and we were playing it. And somebody in the building was like, what is that? Yeah, it was like I was walking by cubicles so they couldn't see me and I didn't know who it was. I could just hear a voice. What? Is this awful thing? What is this? It's Hillary's favorite thing. Oh, yeah. Ever. It gets like tears in her eyes. She cried so hard laughing. Yes. Yes. So pretty. You've got, you have more. Come on. It's a trip to the ER. Now. I'm more still. Sure. Calm down, calm down. Good choice. Best part. Like moist demand. In the tank? Hold it. There's so many things about it. Every time I hear there's a new nuance, I'm like...
That's the greatest part. It's glorious. Me and BNFMC will just be sitting around and go, oh, horina. It's the greatest. And you will hear it again in about a year. That's the last time. Yeah, you tuck it away. You just tuck it away. You bring that sucker out. It's like, you know, when you go up into the attic and you bring all the Christmas decorations down. That's part of the Christmas decorations. That comes with it. Yeah, it's great. And we love doing it. 570-1949 is our number. We got to start wrapping it up. Wow. The guys are going to go. Can you guys start to get me a total, a grand total of everything? Can you guys add it if you can? Try to add it all together. Okay. All right. So we got a lot of people to thank. A lot of people to thank. So I want to go through that. And then. And then I'm going to do my testimony. 570-1949. M1 Veronica. Hello. Hi. Hi, guys. How are you? Good. Thank you. I just wanted to say hi. I know it's almost time to wrap up. I've been listening to you guys for a few months now. And I love your show. I work overnight. So it's like a long wait before you guys come on in the morning. But you guys just make my day. Well, thank you.
The show is so much fun, and I can identify myself with all of you. I'm Mexican-American like you. I'm a mother, a sister. You know, all the stories you guys tell, I just love them. That's great. My four-year-old son loves Hoyle. Aw. That's so cute. He was just cracking up in the car. That's so awesome. Yeah. And just my whole family loves you, and I listen to you guys, and I think it's so great what you guys are doing. I have a nephew who's now 10 who recovered from cancer. And my father passed away from cancer last December 24th. I know how it is, you know, to struggle with these kinds of things. So I just love what you guys are doing and I admire all of you. No, thank you so much. We really appreciate that. Happy holidays to all of you. You too. You too. Thanks. M1 Boost from San Diego. What's up? Man, I know I just called a couple of days ago, but I'm having a hard time letting go, knowing I'm leaving town. Yeah, you're going to Dallas, man. No, I was actually calling, though, because, Woodsy, you mentioned you got an open mic over the break. Yeah. When and where? Not sure yet, and not sure yet. Just know that there's a place that my brother-in-law played. It's in Encinitas, and I'm probably going to go down there on, like, a Wednesday night. You think it'll be before or after the 26th? Before Christmas, after Christmas? Damn it.
I might be able to try it next week. I mean, what do I got to do? I got nothing going on. Maybe I can hit it next Wednesday. Put it on Facebook and I'll be there. All right, buddy. All right, guys. Hope to see you. Thanks, man. Good luck. M1 Mac from Point Loma. Hey, guys. How's it going? Good. Good. I've been with you guys since 630. You lost me a little bit. Unbelievable. That's great. We love Mac. Next year, choose a movie that's a little more interesting. Oh, dude. Waterworld was brutal. That qualifies in the turd category. Oh, yeah. Two hours. But, yeah, I just want to say congratulations. You know, congratulations, especially to phone screeners, those guys, you know, kind of the unsung heroes. Oh, for sure. Yeah, Chris and Will. Those guys killed it. You know, congratulations. One year under the belt, and I love you guys. Thanks. Thank you, man. Love you, buddy. Some people that we want to thank. Really want to thank our general manager, Rick Jackson, who's just been amazing. Want to thank our sales department, Adele Danson. Want to thank Donnie Wilson, Tony Gonzalez, who is also an incredible tight end. Did a lot of things for my fantasy team this year. Atlanta Falcons. No, he's a new sales guy. Great dude. Thank you to Paul Kishimoto. Thank you to all the air staff, Hillary and Tommy.
And Jesse, people that gave up their air shifts and their time. Amanda, all the people that gave up their time on the air to be able to allow us to do this. Thank you to our program director, Garrett. Garrett. Garrett. Garrett. I've been with you since Philly. That's right. Thank you to Jared Marshall. from createyourdesignonline.com who has been here the entire time. The whole time working. His butt off. Jared, you are the man. He won't even look in here. He's great, man. He hates attention. I know it. He's just like me. He's just like me. Polar opposites. I want to thank some incredible engineers, man. JR, Bill, and Jeremy. Just incredible engineers who have done an incredible job. Thank you, guys. for what you've done. Thank you to our promotion staff, Adam and Ciro and Natasha and Chris and Johnny D. They were just amazing. I mean, what they had to pull off and what they had to do was just nothing short of miraculous. And they did. Just incredible. I want to thank some really, really incredible
Divine Postabilities, Wiener Schnitzel, Barbecues Galore, and the Barbecues Galore Cooking Experience. Thank you to the Palm Restaurant. Lobster, lobster. Yeah. Thank you to Randy Jones Sports Grill. Thank you to Lolita's Mexican Food. Thank you to Pop Chips Honest Tea and Sushi Poppers. And thank you to our significant others. Thank you to Kim and to Todd and Jamie and Matt and to my wife, Rebecca, who is just a champ, just an absolute champ. That makes my mouth water. Okay. That was a moment that was no longer here. Don't forget Jasper, Mark. Jasper. And Liberty. Don't forget Finn. You were talking about your wife being really sweet and sentimental, and I said, that makes my mouth water. You've heard this, but get some. Get some. I also want to thank Jay, who just chewed. The guy, he just stepped up and, I mean, produced his butt off. Smile on his face the whole time. Absolutely. The guy just came through like I couldn't believe, man.
Thank you to LOB and Sienna and Woods. I am so grateful to not just work with you guys, but to be friends with you guys and to have you in my life. Rebecca knows, you know, more than anybody else, how much you guys mean to me. And I just love you guys so, so much. We love you too, Mike. Love you guys. I love you so much. We love you guys. We love you guys. Oh, my dad's bit. I want to thank Danny, who runs M1 Sight. And I want to thank all the folks from M1 Sight and all the people that are here today that have been with us, all the M1s that have been with us since the very beginning, and all M1s that are listening. Those are Mikey Show listeners. I want to thank them. I want to thank Will. And I want to thank Chris, who have been incredible screening the phones for us and making sure that those phones have been taken care of. I mean, doing the podcast, working in shifts, making sure that everything has gone on and that everything has just gone off without a hitch. Thank you to all of those people. And if I missed anybody, and I hope I didn't, but if I missed anybody, thank you.
From the bottom of our hearts. We're getting a total together right now. We do want to give you a total and a tally of where we stand in terms of raising money. It's been 28 straight hours. Going to get some good rest today. I'll probably be wired and can't sleep. I know. Giant Red Bull. Yeah. Laying in bed just going, oh, that was awesome. That was awesome. You do get a little bit amped up. You guys have fun hanging out in here today? The live studio audience. The live studio audience that was with us the whole time. And they really kind of brought us up today. Yeah, absolutely. There's no way I would have made it without those guys. Oh, my gosh. Absolutely. I was. I thought I was dying. I was like, I'm leaving. I have to leave. At 630, I was like, I thought this was going to be the easy part. Yeah. It was tough, dude. Yeah. Tough. Yeah. It's taxing. But you know what? We'll be back. We'll do it all over again next year. You've got a whole year to forget about it. I'll be ready. Forget about it. Two minutes? Okay, cool. Two minutes are going to have this for us. Did I forget anybody? I sure hope I didn't. I'm trying to think, man. I think all the M1s that showed up today and stood out there, and it was rainy this morning or yesterday morning, I think. I barely remember.
But they were out there, man. And they stayed there all freaking day. And they did just, they just hung, man. And they just wanted to be a part of it. And I love them so much. All of them. HB, Maddie, all those guys. Dorian was out there. Lizzie. Lizzie, M1 Brady, everybody, man. It was so cool. Alex, wheelchair racer, my man, the best. We should thank the entire air staff who gave up their shit. We did. Oh, you did? 94.9, Mikey Show, 28 hour. Well, I'd like to personally thank you. Actually, Mikey thought. Wow. Think Rady's Children. Rady's Children. The people that work there. Hands-on in the ADI department. All the best. I would be remiss not to mention the people that showed up for the parade. Yeah. And the world record. Antoinette? Yeah. The folks that came out and just lined up for the parade. In droves. Yeah. Did we say that already? In droves. In drove? In drove. In drove. Did he say that earlier? I wouldn't say it was droves. I would say they showed up in drove. Oh, in drove. Now I get it. M1 Brock suggested for your best FCD to name it One Car Parade. Yeah. One Car Parade. One Car Parade. That's funny. Yes. Hysterical. Sad. I won something. Pitiful. I should have won something on that. Me and you. You won satisfaction. Satisfaction. How come everybody else wins something and they're like,
get to see me get hit in the balls or see me get my ear pierced, I win satisfaction. I forgot you guys did that with the balls to the balls. That's right. Oh, that was one of the funniest things. I know. I was saran wrapped yesterday. That was so funny. Yeah, it was great. L.O.B. was Eskimo Blue Waters playing the blues. On stage. It was ridiculous. It was a dynamite. And then, just a few minutes later, Got in that red dress and did Santa Fe. Incredible. I don't want to see pictures. You did great. Mikey Son. Amazing. Amazing. I saw pictures of that and almost barfed. It was awesome. The walk onto the stage, I'll never forget. It was like a shuffle. It was brilliant. What a fun day. Or more than day. Seems like way longer than that. Isn't it weird that you think back and you're like, remember when we were gone? We're not even halfway through yet. Yes. Now here we are. All right, well, we got to wrap it up. I'm going to give you my testimony. You want me to get a total? Yeah, he's... Is he going to bring it in or is he going to bring it in? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think he is. I can tell that they're... Are you close? They're clutching. I think they're... They're crunching. They're adding up... Because what they had to do is they had to get not just the donations but also the auction stuff. Oh, yeah. What we were hoping for...
And this is what I said on the news. We were watching on the news. We were hoping to get to $15,000. You know, that's what, you know, yesterday when they asked me, I said, I hope we get to $10,000. Yeah, I heard you say that down there. Yeah. I said, I hope we get to $10,000. And then as the day was going on, I said, well, now I hope we get to $15,000. So I hope we did. We did. That would be amazing. It would be pretty cool. I think he's got it. Hillary's going to have to forgive me because I'm going to go over just a couple of minutes. 28 hours wasn't enough. She's like, really? Are you kidding? Yeah. She's like, you're joking, right? All right. We got it. We can all just take it to the house at 10. Here it comes. There's still what? Is this it? Oh, my gosh. Is this the final? Oh, my gosh.
There's still some pledges out, so ask people if they made a pledge to make sure they're filled, but that's cash in the door right now. Oh, my gosh. Wow. Wow. Well, if you did make a pledge, please follow through on your pledge, but what we actually have is $23,940. So great. Merry Christmas. Happy holidays. Yes. Love you guys. So awesome. Happy Kwanzaa. Happy Kwanzaa. At the end of the show on Fridays, I give you my testimony. I give you my story. And today is probably the most special testimony that I've given all year long. You know, I planned on going to Haiti this year, and it just didn't work out. The dates didn't work out. And because those dates didn't work out, we had to rearrange when we would do the Mikey-thon. And where it fell was December 16th.
Today is the one year anniversary that I left Rock 105. That I was let go. That's very, very fitting that it's today. Because one year ago today, I was devastated. I was crying in my office at home with my wife. We were holding on to each other. Both of us crying. We were scared. The way that it rolled out, we were supposed to be... Out of work completely. And God didn't let that happen. Put me together with an amazing crew of people. And I'm really happy coming into work. That's so amazing for me. I love the people that I work with. I had a very, very low self-esteem my entire life. I've been addicted to everything you can possibly imagine. And I have been at the very, very pits of despair.
in my life, absolutely hopeless, where I felt just absolutely hopeless. And I don't feel that anymore. I don't feel hopeless. In fact, I am full of hope. And I do not have low self-esteem anymore. I have confidence that I've never had my entire life. Most of all, I have hope. If you're listening right now, and that's something that you don't have, you don't have hope, I want you to know that the reason that I have hope in my life is because of Jesus Christ, whose very name elicits an emotion no matter what. Up on Christmas, and there are some people who just don't believe, and that's okay. Even our calendar screams his name. The reason that it's 2010 is because it was 2010 years ago. And I love him, and I know that it was because of him that I'm a different person.
It was because of him that I will live forever. Go to MikeyShow.com. If you are struggling with addiction, eating disorders, depression, go to MikeyShow.com, click on help, and there is resources for you to get help. I also like to play a song. Let's play a different song today because this song that I'm going to play you is one that I was listening to a lot at this time last year. It's a big part of my testimony. It's by Switchfoot. We will see you again. In the new year, actually. We'll see you again in 2011. 2011. Thank you for an incredible year. Lovely and talented Hillary is up next. And on behalf of the entire Mikey Show, that is a Mikey-thon 2010 under our belts. We'll see you later.
