for us. It is 6.05. Nickelodeon is in talks to air a special on teen pregnancy since 16-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears announced that she is pregnant. Thursday night football last night. The Steelers roll over the Rams 41-24 but lose Willie Parker to a broken leg. Oh. Oh, Willie Parker. I felt so bad for you. Second play of the game. Did you see that I wrote an open letter to Willie Parker? You know what? And it was justified. In our fantasy football league, you can post, you know, stories and letters and whatever. You can do whatever, you know, write stuff. So last night, last night was the beginning of my Super Bowl. In the fantasy football league I'm in, I'm playing in the Super Bowl against B-Dub, Brian Wilson. And so I'm all excited and I got my little laptop on my lap and I'm ready to watch the game and follow Willie Parker's progress and watch those numbers go up and up and up and up. And I'm hoping by the end of the game, he'll have me in double digits, you know,
As I get prepared to go into the weekend against Brian Wilson's unstoppable team of Randy Moss and Braden Edwards and Damian Tomlinson and Adrian Peterson, and I need all the help I can get. And on the second play of the game last night, Willie Parker breaks his ankle. Oh, my. Second play of the game. His first carry. Oh, my God. That's the worst. His first carry. Oh, man. Oh, dude. And I went. At first, he's just on the sideline. They're looking at him. And I thought to myself, it's impossible that he's hurt. That's your guy. It's impossible. He'll be back in the next series. It's impossible. In fact, what I think it is, is they're so excited that they're just all having a good time on the sideline, tickling him. They got his sock off. They're tickling his feet. For sure. Bunch of rascals. That was not the deal. He is done. Good night and good luck. Oh, dude. So I wrote him a letter last night. And I thanked him for losing my championship on a Thursday night. That's brutal, man. So there it is. Welcome to the program. My name is Mikey, and I am 37 years of age. And we are doing an appearance today that I'm going to tell you about. We're going into a break. It's Christmas time.
Everybody's got the Christmas cheer. That's right. That's what I'm saying. 5701053 if you want to get on the air this morning. Eddie's our producer and sports guy. He is 34 years old and he says that is low to mid 30s. Sky is our news girl and she is 30 years of age and She hails from the San Jose area, the South Bay, Pioneer High School alumni. My name's Skye. What's happening? The Mustangs. Come on, Sean. We're going in the holidays. What? That's your signature piece. That is not my signature piece. Stop it. There are seven people on the Mikey Show. I've introduced three of us, me, Eddie, and Skye.
Sean is also on the Mikey Show, although Sean lives in the Bay Area. He is in the Bay Area right now. We look at him on a camera. That's how we see him. Look at his face! He plays for the Golden State Warriors. That's true. It is difficult for us to have him here in San Diego when he plays for the Warriors up north. I support my team. He's a shooting guard. That's right. You're saying that Sean is a shooting guard? Yeah. He's not the big man in the middle? No, he's only like 6'4". Yeah, I'm short. I'm one of the shortest guys on the team. But deadly beyond the arc. Oh, whatever that means. Absolutely. Dude, three-pointers, I'm all over it. But I don't know how to dribble at all. I'm really terrible at it. Can't win them all. Ashley is our assistant producer. She is 24 years of age. She has blonde hair, but she's making the transition to a darker tint. Yes, chestnut. I'm excited. Chestnut is the brown I'm going to go for. You want me to roast that on an open fire? Chestnut's roasting. How ironic with the Christmas. You get it? Get it's a reference and at the same time an offer. Right.
That was really good. It's two things in one. I love it. It's really very cool. Boston Rob, that little rascal, he is 25. He's a phone screener, and he's also friends with Seth. Bulimia. That's right. Boston Rob is very thin. He's a very thin guy. And it is not because he's on a hunger strike. Well, maybe it is. Guy didn't like to eat. It's almost time for a conversation. Dude, almost. I was talking to Rebecca last night, and I said... Why am I looking that good? I said to Rebecca last night, I go, do you think that I should get everybody together? Like a little intervention? Yeah, I mean, it's like right there. We need to do something. Because, I mean, when your diet consists of power bars and protein shakes, and that's all you eat. And chicken. Yeah, and chicken. And chicken. Like, there's something wrong. Well, you have to see it. When you see it, you go, oh, you guys were for real? A rib pokes you in the face as you're walking by. You go, oh, you guys weren't joking about that. And then Zeth is the seventh member of the Mikey Show. And he's the youngest member of the Mikey Show. He's only 22 years old. And Zeth does not have a lot of luck with the ladies. He does not.
The deal is that he likes the ladies. He just does not have a lot of luck with them. And that's that. We're doing an appearance today. Cricket Wireless. You want to come buy our CD? Ten bucks. The best of the Mikey show. Furry Up. It's called Furry Up. And it's going to be on sale today for ten bucks. And you get to meet us and we'll sign your CD for you. We're going to be at Cricket. The Cricket Wireless store on 43rd Street. 1490 South 43rd. It's off to 805. 43rd Street exit from the 805. Can't miss it. Cricket Wireless. Today at 11 a.m. 1101 will be out there. Come have lunch with us. Oh, delicious. Mm-hmm. And all the proceeds from the Best of CD are going to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. So come on out and give us a call. 570-1053 is our phone number.
P1 Tijuana John is on the line. Tijuana John, you there? Yeah, good morning, Mikey. How you guys doing? Good, man. What's up? Hey, just got a question for the Oracle. Go ahead. Hey, Eddie, I was just curious. Who won the Holiday Bowl last night? It was not the Holiday Bowl. It was the Poinsettia Bowl. Right, right. The Poinsettia Bowl was won by Utah. Yeah. Are you a Utah guy? Yeah, I'm a Utah guy. Yep, you went there. Are you a fan of Alex Smith, the quarterback of the 49ers? Yeah, absolutely. I was stoked when he got drafted number one overall. I grew up a 49ers fan, too. There you go. There you go, brother. Congratulations to your Utah. Yeah, dude. I don't know what they're called, but your Utah whatevers. For real. The Utes. The Utes. What was the final score, Eddie? 35-32. Nice. All right, thank you. What's a Ute? It's just a way to say Utah? I believe it is what Joe Pesci calls his clients. Utes. There you go. That's it. Or young people. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Utes. I tell you what, man. I was actually scared at home yesterday. I live close to the Qualcomm Stadium. And I thought...
We were being attacked by, like, Iraq. The Iraq. The Iraq? Because they, you know, did some pre-game fireworks. And I didn't know. You know, I wasn't even thinking bowl game and nothing. You know, and it's Thursday night. Like, bombs went off in my house. Did you dive under the coffee table? It was scary. I was scared for a second. I'm like, dude, what's going on? Really? And I couldn't, in my mind, process it. Yeah. And I'm like, dude, is there, like, explosions happening? Like, what's going on? And then the... The jet planes flew over, and I kind of figured it out after that. I'm like, holy cow. P1 Felix, are you there? Yeah, what's going on, guys? Not too much. Merry Christmas. Hey, I got a question for the Oracle. Go ahead. Actually, two questions. One, with Willie Parker's leg getting broken, do you think LT should play for the remainder of the season? That is a far-out question. That is a far-out question. What does that mean? In other words, are you afraid of LT getting hurt? Oh, I see what you're saying. You always run that risk, man. You run that risk no matter what. I'm not a big fan of resting guys for entire games. I would say if you play him on Monday night against Denver and they get out to a big lead, obviously you've got to sit him. I would probably play LT for a half.
It's not like the game really means that much. So, you know, yeah, you want to get him in there, you know, keep him fresh, things like that. May sit him for the Oakland game because really no reason for him to play. Now, the other question I have for you is, what do you think about Jacksonville? If things ended right now and they came here, I personally think Jacksonville is a tougher task than even the Patriots. Well, that is not true. I mean, I would. I would much rather play Jacksonville than New England. But if things ended right now, Cleveland would be coming to San Diego, and I would take that any day of the week. Don't want to play Jacksonville. Jacksonville's a very tough team. But, you know, I think it would probably be a different game if Jacksonville came here as opposed to when we went there. Right. So it's going to be interesting. Hopefully we'll play Cleveland, though. Thank you, bro. All right, guys. Hey, well, Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas to you, too. I do not know if this is true, but if it is, That's hysterical. P1 Tommy, are you there? Yes, sir. Good morning. Is this story you're calling about the truth? Yeah, I heard it this morning on the radio. Talk news. P1 Tommy says, Jonathan Papelbaum from Papelbon, Papelmoose, Jonathan Papelbon, the closer for the Boston Red Sox, that his dog ate the World Series final out ball.
Dude, I sent that story to Rob, and it was hysterically laughing when I read that yesterday. That's a truth? Yeah. The final out ball. It's a historic thing. Sure. The closer had it. He kept it. Brought it home with him. I guess had it on the counter. Uh-oh. And his dog likes to play with balls, like most dogs like to play fetch and stuff. Right. Dog jumped on the counter and ate the ball. Ooh. Ate it. What? That's crazy. Yeah. Oh, wow. What a jerk. That's fantastic. What a fantastic story. Bad dog. Wow. We have a lot of listeners in here today. Yeah. We got a lot of listeners in here today. Let's see who we have in here. First of all, P1 Snapper's here. How about that? Snapper, we've never met you. Go right up to the microphone. Hi, guys. P1 Snapper's 21. And you're going to be moving, right? Yes. Where are you moving to? I'm moving to Washington. Washington State or D.C.? State. Okay. What are you going to do there? Go to school? Yep. Where are you going? Washington State University. Really? There you go. What are you going to study? Social work. Oh, I applied there. Did you get accepted? Yeah. Oh, there you go. Yeah. Washington State. Good college. Washington State. What are they? Cougars. The Cougars. Lou Bush's alma mater. Is that right? Great place. Yeah, and the great Ryan Leaf. Oh, well then. Let's see. So, well, good luck to you, Snapper. It's good to have you in here. Thank you. What does she look like?
She's very cute. Whoa. Yeah, Snapper's real cute. She sounds real cute. Oh, there you go. Hello, Snapper. Where is P1 Phil? There's P1 Phil. Phil's in here, too. And he lost in trivia, but he did good enough to still be able to come in here. He's a big fan. Yeah. And he works in the Navy. So it's good to have you in here, man. Thank you for coming in. How about P1 Rudy? Are you Rudy? I know that noon. Rudy. Do you actually know him or no? Yeah, we played golf together. Did you really? Yeah. Oh, wow. He is actually a former P1 trivia winner, but the day that he was going to come in, he got arrested. Oh. So he wasn't able to make it. Happens. Rudy, yell it out. What did you get arrested for? Pushing a cop? Yeah, I remember this. He was trying to break up a bar fight and he felt somebody come from behind and pushed without looking and it turned out the person coming from behind was a cop. He was a good Samaritan. He was trying to be a good Samaritan. He didn't realize that he was shoving a cop. It happens. He actually has court on that incident today. Oh, cool.
Bro, I hope that the judge takes into consideration that you weren't willfully trying to hurt anyone. Maybe the judge will be a P1. There you go. That'd be cool. And finally, P1 Mark is here. And Mark's wife wrote us and asked if he could come in as a Christmas present and explain what kind of good guy he is. What kind of stuff he does for her and that they recently had their first daughter, first child, little girl. What's your daughter's name? Lillian Joy. There you go, bro. Awesome. So welcome to the studio. All of the guests that are in the studio. There was some craziness happening in New Orleans yesterday. I don't know if anybody saw this on the news, but they were protesting in New Orleans and they started busting down this gate and they're getting maced. They're getting like, I mean, it turned into a riot-like situation yesterday in New Orleans. Why did this happen? Well, the city council was voting that day whether to demolish four public housing developments that were damaged by Hurricane Katrina.
And they voted to demolish them. But I guess many people in New Orleans fear that they won't rebuild them. And that this is a way for the local government to try and get poor people out of New Orleans. To give New Orleans like a better name. And that, you know, they say they're going to rebuild them. But they're really not. And that's, you know, that not everybody was allowed into the meeting. And they had this gate closed. And they wanted to get on the other side of that gate. Well, the reason that I, because I didn't know the whole story. they allowed people for and against to be in that city council meeting. And what I heard was they were allowing a whole bunch of people that were for demolishing these places and only a few, well, at least in the minds of the protesters, only a few of the people against it, which could be true. And if it is, that's not fair. I mean, it should be balanced and it should be... But what I'm wondering is, how did they come to that conclusion? Maybe they had somebody in there that was like, hey, there's a bunch of people here for not enough again. I don't know. Yeah, who knows? Who knows what it was? But all I know is that I was watching TV thinking I was looking at another country. Right. Wow. It looked like some crazy country in the Middle East with people getting sprayed and shoving and cops and batons. Oh!
And this was right here in New Orleans. This was a pretty big deal. Mexican-grown basil has been recalled for salmonella. Everyone likes a little salmonella. Your Mexican-ness is what defines you. I'm nervous that we... I didn't know we bought basil from Mexico. I didn't know that either. No idea. Because I know Mexico's got different standards than we do. That is true. Well, so what happened is over 5,000 pounds. Our standards are better than yours. This is Vicente Fox. Our standards are much better than your standards are. Oh, really? Yes. They always have been. Then why do I have the impression that it's the opposite? It's propaganda, man. You'd be told to believe, you know. Why is there, like, arsenic in your toothpaste? No arsenic in the toothpaste. It's only the ones that the little kids sell at the border. That's not the ones you buy in the pharmacia. But what about the lead in the paint? Leading paint, to a certain extent, is good for you. No, that's not true. No, it's really not. You know, just depending on... It's very dangerous. You know, sometimes the lead can be a flavorful additive. No. So depending on...
But you don't eat it. How much you put. That's bad. Really bad for you. Some certain things can taste a lot better if you put the lead in them. Plus, if you buy the daily vitamins, a lot of them do not come with enough lead. Well, I don't think... You can take our paint as a supplement. No, I don't think paint is a supplement. A daily supplement you can have, just, you know, lick our toys. No, thank you. For your vitamins and minerals. I'm good. But just because, you know, our basil is grown in fertilizer does not mean that it is not delicious once you put... No, that sounds bad. I don't know about that. Good, sir. I don't know about that. On your Italian food. It's garbage. I'll pass. Do they know how and what? They don't know exactly where the salmonella came from, but the way it went down was over 5,000 pounds of basil was coming across the border at the Otay Mesa crossing. Sounds like a drug bust. And so I guess what they do is inspectors at the border crossing take a sample of it to test it, but it takes a while to test it. So this basil came across on December the 5th.
And the results just came back this week. Oh, my God. Well, here's the deal. I don't think anybody's going to be eating basil from December 5th at this point anyway. Yeah, it's already got to be bad. So you've either already eaten it or it's thrown away. Yeah, so the brand of basil is Green Paradise. So keep your eyes peeled. Green Paradise. Yes. It is poop basil. Sounds like brown paradise. Okay, yuck. You know that one of those Holloway suspects, you know, the Natalie Holloway case where they arrested those three kids. Van der Sloot. Van der Sloot. Yoran van der Sloot. Right. And they let them all go. Deepak, whatever, Kalpo and his brother, they let them all go. They arrested them, let them go. Well, I was reading about this yesterday, and part of the reason that they arrested them was there's this new technology that's available today that wasn't available when they were arrested. It's like a computer software where they can go in, and they can recover stuff you tried to delete, and they can recover stuff that was on your computer that you didn't even know about. And so that Yoran van der Sloot...
He had some kind of instant message conversation with someone where he would have maybe even been one of those other kids. But he said the fact that she's dead isn't good. And they went and investigators went, yeah, that's. And that was just a couple of days after her disappearance. But the judge didn't think that that was enough to take them to trial on. And they also had some girl that was like an acquaintance of them. that said that she got weird phone calls that night that she disappeared. She was even getting weird phone calls that night. Yeah, she says that she talked to, you know, when they released all this information, from what I read, they're not specifically saying which one of the three guys was involved in which piece of evidence. but it all is in regards to this case, and they said that she had a phone conversation with one of the guys, and she said he sounded weird, so she asked what was wrong, and he told her that he didn't want to cause her any trouble, and what had happened couldn't be discussed over the phone on that night.
So, not good. And then a second witness says the day after Natalie Holloway's disappearance, one of the suspects was acting very strange and kept making and receiving lots of phone calls. And then another piece of evidence was when they bugged one of their phones and picked up bits and pieces of a conversation about what happened that night she disappeared. But still, like Mikey said, not enough to go to trial with. So now they're out. It sounds very clear that these kids are guilty. But through loopholes, whatever, they're out. You know, the Spears family, they probably should just not be saying anything. You know, because Jamie Lynn Spears, you heard, she's 16 and she just got pregnant. And her aunt is this woman named Shonda McGovern. And this is what she was saying on the TV show Extra, cut three. The 16-year-old tween queen's in seclusion today, but her aunt, Chanda McGovern, is speaking out to Extra from Louisiana, claiming Jamie Lynn's baby bump may be an attempt to steal the spotlight from her big sister. Whether she got pregnant on purpose or by accident, she's wanting a little me attention, my attention, because everything's going on with Britney like it is. So maybe it was a ploy for attention. Horrible. What family member would say that? You shouldn't say it. Disgusting.
Who knows what, you know, it's probably an accident. Yeah, and even if it is true, you don't say that as a family. You know what I mean? It sounds like she's not very well-versed on the media thing. Chargers got the Broncos Monday night at the Q. Yep. That's going to be a game. I wonder if LT's going to play. We talked about it a minute ago. He'll probably play, but, you know, I'm guessing like a half. Yeah. Not too much more than that. What's the latest with Bill Parcells? It's official. He's the vice president of the Miami Dolphins. He's the guy? Yeah. Wow. Check him out. Wow. Which is so interesting because you've got to figure, you know, he's probably going to clean house. That means Cam Cameron's going to get fired. Who is he going to pick to be his head coach? You know, a lot of stuff is going to be really interesting with that happening. This is going to be over real quick. Jennifer Love Hewitt's turned down a Playboy offer.
Yeah. Hugh Hefner was really interested after the junk in the trunk photos came out. And she was going around talking about how you shouldn't be ashamed of your body and proud of what you got. And so they made her a nice offer. But she said, no, thanks. I'm good. It was an offer she could refuse. Yes, it was. Are you fat? Pretty big 80s hairband guy. I won't tell you who. I'll tell you when we come back. Lead singer. Big 80s hairband. is a band you liked, Eddie. Okay. And the rap is, the rumor is, that he wears a wig. Holy cow. Oh, my gosh. Holy cow. Wow. So many thoughts. And when we come back, I will tell you who this is. Can I guess? You cannot guess. You cannot guess. No, not now. I mean, when we come back. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. You can guess. And I won't tell you if it's a big name or a little lame. Little lame. Big name or a little name.
I have to tell you later. When we come back, I'll tell you all about it. We're going to do something on the show today to heal the community of San Diego called Tough Love with Eddie. Well, I mean, I think it's appropriate. It's Christmas time. I want to help people. You know, we're doing Secret Santa. I figured Tough Love. Totally opposite. Hand in hand. Awesome. Makes sense to me. Well, the deal is that Eddie, everybody knows what Tough Love is, and people write Eddie for advice, and he doles out Tough Love. Tough Love with her, Tough Love. Yeah. Tough love it is, tough love. We're going to be doing our final Secret Santa today, so we're going to make somebody's Christmas wish come true. Awesome! Executive chef of Ocean Air Restaurant downtown and TV star on the TV show Top Chef, Brian Malarkey, will be on the studio with us today. Hey! We here on the Mikey Show are going to participate in an on-air white elephant exchange. Oh, no, I'm nervous. This is the first time that I have ever done a white elephant exchange in my life. In fact, I had to have it told to me what it is and how it works. But I got excited. I am excited. I'm ready for my first white elephant gift exchange. We are going to do a Christmas version of Tone Deaf Karaoke today. Ashley singing.
Holiday numbers. How often do you get to call them numbers? That's all I want to know. So we got some really good stuff coming up on the show. And our friend Amy's coming in to tell us about the auto show that's going on while we're on break, which I will probably be at that auto show every day. Yeah, you will. Every single day that the San Diego International Auto Show is in town, I'll probably be there. Last year, I went every day with a camera. And I love it. So all of that coming up on the show today, Larry the Cable Guy in the stand-up spotlight. So this is a story formerly known as Twas the Night Before Christmas. It is now called Twas the Night Before a Non-Denominational Winter Holiday. Twas the non-denominational winter holiday went all to the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. Went there two days ago. We got a Stearns and Foster just like you and went to Santee Sleep Train. We got the bed for a price that I can't even mention on the radio. And then they gave us all the accessories, the sheets, a really nice bed frame.
mattress cover, you name it, everything half off. You slept on it yet? No, we get it delivered tonight. Lucky. Can't wait. I mean, I love it, dude. We didn't get the exact same one you got. They showed me the one you got, but we got one of the other Sturds and Imposters, and they're all nice. Lucky. That's awesome, dude. That makes me happy. Call me back and tell me tomorrow morning how your first night's sleep was on that sleep chain mattress. Yeah, I might have to take Friday off. I'll be feeling that. too rested. I'll have to go take an exercise. Or maybe we can join them. Yeah. For a nap. Is it cool if we come over and take a nap later? That's right. Yeah, the show. We got the California King. It says Splashly the Flood-O-Matic Hydro Lounger and it's Ashley a blonde Barbie doll. passed out on a couch, and it's on a floating device since, you know, she flooded the apartment. Whatever. And this guy, P1 Mike, who made it, I said, dude, I've never seen something handmade by a listener that was this amazing. And we want to start, like, a whole line of, like, Mikey Show toys. Yeah. Like, Sky and the Honey Bake Store.
Oh, no. No. This guy with a chopper. Mike kissing a dog. Why do you got to go there? I thought we were throwing out a boy idea. Welcome back. It is 640. A new report release says that sheriffs violated policy when booking Mel Gibson. Get this, everybody. The Falcons are supposedly interested in Marty Schottenheimer as their head coach and... Chargers assistant GM Buddy Nix for their gentleman. Oh! Okay, so here is my question. Of all of the 80s hairband guys, who could right now there be a rumor about wearing a wig? And is that what it is, Sky? Do I even have that right? Is there a rumor that he wears a wig? Or does he wear a wig? Or what's the deal?
send you this photo. I just sent you the link, and you tell me if you think that that's a wig. A top picture? Yeah. Well, how can that be that person's real hair? Right. I fully believe that is a wig. Now, is that the story, or is that the story? Is there a story out there about it? Well, if I give the story, then it'll give away who it is. Okay, but is there a story out there about him wearing a wig? There's talk about it in relation to what I sent you. So somebody took that picture and go, oh, now the story is... Is it based on that photograph? We've got to put the picture up on the Mikey Show website. Eddie, who do you think it is? Well, from what I've seen lately of Bret Michaels,
It looks like his hair is kind of going. So that's my guess. The story is that Bret Michaels and his TV show Rock of Love may lead to this does Bret Michaels wear a wig story. Right. Because of Rock of Love 2 is premiering next month. And so they have started to do publicity for it and have taken some publicity photographs. Now, you know, Bret Michaels is known for never taking that bandana off. And everybody's always thought, hey, he's got nothing going on underneath that bandana. Just some straggly hair sticking out from it. And these new photos show him with a full blonde head of hair. We got to send that to Sean. So Sean can put that on the MikeyShow.com website. And people can decide for themselves. Like Brittany could wear that wig. Is it a wig or is it the real thing?
Send it to Mikey. We'll get it on MikeyShow.com coming up and you can decide for yourself. Eddie brought up an interesting topic before we went on the air about the Christmas letter. Raise your hand in the room if you yearly get in the mail from someone that you know and love, family member, friend, the Christmas letter. Does anybody get that? Where they tell you, they update you, and they say, this is what happened in 2007, this is what's going on, that kind of thing, right? Most of us get those letters, okay? In fact, my wife wanted me to write one, and she said that it's up to me, and I thought about it for a long time, and I started to write one, and I stopped, and I said, this is not for me. I said, this is for you. If you would like to do a Christmas letter, I am in 100% support of you, and I do believe that I've got a little bit of a...
A knack for writing, but this is not my thing to write. A tell-all book, yes. You know, an autobiography, yes. A memoir, absolutely. A Christmas letter talking about the wonderful things that I did this year. Jake taking his first steps in October. And how beautiful Jake is and how he, I can't, I'm not the guy. You traveled to Maui in July. Now, I got to tell you, I'm a fan of them. I'm a fan of them because I like to be updated on what people are doing. But because of my nature, because of who I am, because of my personality, they're very difficult for me to write them. I said, Rebecca, this is your, you write this. But Eddie brought up an interesting point today. He says him and his wife got into a pretty lengthy conversation about who is that person that writes the Christmas letter.
Husband or wife? Is that what you mean? More specifically, the type of person. Oh, the type of person. Yeah. Gotcha. Because we got a couple of Christmas letters, and it didn't seem like my wife was into it. And for me, I don't care. Like, I'm just like, whatever, great. But I will never write a Christmas letter. Why will you not write the Christmas letter? Because I don't know that people generally, I don't think they care very much. I think they get it. They kind of read it, and they're like, great, whatever, and toss it. And then people that are in our lives, like, you already know what's going on. You don't need the Christmas letter. Well, this is the thing. I have an example of a person. Hey, Ash, do you got any of those Gary Hoes yet? They're all up. They're all up? Yep. Where are they? Light pink, where all the music beds are in the top left. I got them. I got them. I am a fan of... One in particular. I'm a fan of one in particular in terms of the Christmas letter. I love Josh Lewin's Christmas letter. And I told Rebecca, I really like Josh's letter. And she said, why don't you mold our letter after his letter? Josh's Christmas letter is super funny and finds a way to be self-deprecating and very real.
I love that. And I like to know what stuff is going on because I really don't get a chance to know. And sometimes with some of our friends, we don't really get to know too much about their world except for them personally. We know sometimes them, but we don't necessarily know other stuff that's going on. And so I do like to be updated on some of that stuff. But I see what Eddie is saying. Well, my wife is saying that a friend of hers at work... hates the Christmas letter. And I'm like, whoa, like hates the Christmas letter. That's a little extreme. She's like, yeah, I don't care what's going on and I already know half this stuff and you're just, why waste my time? Wow, that's a little... Well, I don't like the Christmas letters that are like extremely long and it almost sounds like they're bragging, like they're in a competitive mode. Just want to let you know, like my family's... and doing this and this, and you'll face what you've got. We went to Europe this year. Yeah, you know, it's like, my kid got 4.0's, nothing. He's like crazy. Little Billy. Yeah. See, that element exists, too. That can be annoying. Oh, yeah, it does. You know, and you know those people that do that letter. Well, I mean, isn't it... It almost, to me, seems like, isn't that the idea? No. The idea is not that. The idea is to fill you in on what happened over the year. But there are...
Definitely letters that are the bragging. Question. Question. What if filling you in qualifies as bragging? Yeah, because, I mean, Little Billy could have got 4.0 and won the state championship in wrestling. I think it's all about how you write it, and I also think it's about the length. I mean, some of these people will go on and on and on about their kids. Question. Question, Ashley. Answer, Mikey. My kid. Let's say this. Let's say. My kid has a 4.0, just won player of the year in his Pop Warner football, and was just also given student of the month. Tell me how I tell you, and it doesn't sound like I'm bragging. What's his name? Bobby? Johnny. Johnny. You'd be like, my little tiger Johnny had an amazing year. You can be like, he got student of the month, which was awesome. First time he's ever gotten that. Kicked butt in school, got a 4.0, and he got the Pop Warner, whatever, trophy. You know, and you can just be like, he had a stellar year. It's really cool. Now, write the same letter, but brag about Billy. Johnny. Johnny. Well, my little angel Johnny, just another notch in the belt, but this year he had, you know, standard 4.0 GPA. You know, it comes easy for him, but he's, you know, we're still proud. And he got the Pop Warner, which...
No surprise there, but, you know, we're very excited for him with his talent. I get it. I get it. You know what I mean? I get it. I get it. I needed to have it illustrated to me, but I get it. Right. It's the whole element of... The tonality of it. Yes. We're not surprised. Right. I got it. Well, I'll tell you what. This is something that everybody, most everybody listening, can relate to it. knows, gets the letter, knows the letter, and has a take on the letter. 570-1053. I want to hear your takes on those Christmas letters. How do you write them? What do you get? Who is the person that writes them? Who is it for? Is it for yourself? Or do you really want to update them? Oh, dude, that's a great question. I think it's more... of the ladies of the house wanting it. I don't think, guys, if my wife had not brought it up to me, there is no way I see one guy in the world going, honey, we got to let everybody know what's going on. Get that Christmas letter written. Yeah, honey, when are you going to get me on that Christmas letter already? I think it's a ladies thing. Maybe I'm off base on that. I don't know. Growing up, I was really into it as the kid. Me and my brother and sister would write it. Who told you to? Who told you to?
Who asked you to? My mom. Ah, really? I've never gotten one from a kid before. Well, like, we wrote it, like, in a kind of, like, a newsletter kind of way. Like, we're really, like, creative about it. You see, it's cute. English minor, I'm telling you. Very minor. You are listening to The Mikey Show. Indeed, you are powerful. Rock 105.3. I've had a goatee now going on about 13 years. Guy. You know me, I live the life of like a 65-year-old woman. Sean. I'm a germaphobe. Boston Rob. I thoroughly enjoy listening to jazz music. And Ashley. Due to my carelessness, I'm extremely prone to self-inflicting injuries. Mikey shows on. Gosh, get to it already. Rock 105.3. Nitos. Hi. Usually when we come back from break, it's like fast-paced. Hey. You're right. You have the comp. You're in charge. Go ahead, Rob. Mutiny on board. No, no. I apologize. Boston Rob. Two women have been charged with sexually assaulting a group of University of North Carolina football players. Former Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith is going to get the start for the Ravens on Sunday. Back to you, Rob. Yes!
It's the holiday spirit. And we were talking about Christmas letters, getting them, receiving them. So we got a couple of interesting things that B-Rob put up on the screen for me here. That's you. I know. I put them up on the screen for myself. Okay. You just let yourself in the third person. Doing everything today. A multitasker. Please continue. Is this P1 Lisa? This is P1 Lisa. Hey, Lisa. So you get a Christmas letter every year? Am I having the privilege of speaking to B-Rob? Yeah, Mikey is doing something. He thought he would be back in time, but he's a little late, so Boston Rob's hosting the show. Right. Second in command, if you will. Can I just say that, B-Rob, he did a great job screening this one. Anyway. You didn't say your name. That's you. Thank God. Can you please get out of here, Rob? By the way.
There's a phone call on right now, Mike. Yeah, we're in the middle of a call, Mike. He's taking calls. So how long are we back? 30 seconds. 30 seconds. It's so funny. Hello. Is this Lisa? Hi, Lisa. Is this still B-Rock? You wish, don't you? No, it's Mikey now. Oh, my God. It's Mikey now. How are you? Good. How are you? Merry Christmas. Well, Merry Christmas to you, too. How are you? Doing well. You were calling. Yes. Because you get that Christmas letter every year. We get one that's written from the perspective of the dog at the house. Oh, wow. Creative. Wow. You know, that's it. This and this and this and this. My mommy, Lisa, did this and this and this. Those are funny. Yeah. It's hilarious. You have to put a good spin on it. Babe, if you're listening, that's what we're doing. That's what we're doing. I'm going to do it from the cat's perspective. I can do that because I can be self-deprecating. There's humor involved. There's humor involved. You know why I love that, Lisa? Do tell. Because if you do it in a funny way where it's written from the cat perspective, it would almost make being serious inappropriate. Exactly.
So if I wanted to be serious and tell real things, that's inappropriate at that point. Completely. Forces me into doing it. I love it. I love it. You got the answer right there. I am on it. Thank you, Lisa. Thank you very much. Folks, I think it's really time to do this. Yes. Oh, my goodness. I was going to get into that next, too. Can you imagine? No. I'd rather not. I don't even want to think about it. No way. Dear Eddie. Well, we do something on the show called Tough Love with Eddie. And the idea is that, well, I've known Eddie for over 20 years of my life. And one thing that I know about Eddie is that, you know, he can be, talk about real. He shoots from the hip. Yeah. He does not placate. He tells you the truth. We call it tough love and sometimes tough love.
is exactly what it sounds like. You've got to tell people the truth. Sometimes tough love hurts a little bit in the beginning, but then eventually you get used to the pain and it helps. It's the concept. And it ends up feeling really good. Sometimes it hurts, but it feels so good. Really. So here is our first letter. First letter reads, Dear Oracle, I need some advice and I can take it. Really give it to me. Don't listen to Sky. Oh, this is perfect. Right out of the gate. I love it. Yes. You really are helping us P1s. The girl I'm dating freaked out the other day because she saw me for the first time with my shirt off and I have a hairy back. Oh, no. She thought it was gross and she wants me to wax it. I've seen 40-year-old Virgin and there is no way I'm letting someone wax me. Kelly Clarkson! It looks so painful. Do you have any other advice on what I can do to get rid of this hair? Signed P1 Cole in Poway. Eddie? Dear Harry Christmas! She has hair roasting on an open fire. What are you doing? You're singing.
Christmas carols. Yeah. Is that weird? About back hair. Is that weird? Yes. My favorite part of the email is the surprise. Yes. Like, my girlfriend didn't like my back hair. Really? Because, you know, it's surprising. Most girls really dig the cousin it look. I mean, I love that. Now, I have to admit, myself, I am a former Sasquatch. I had the back hair, but I got it lasered off. That's true. And if you don't want to go the James Brown... James Bond route, then you can try a new product. It's called Wax Body Spray. And now what you do is you spray it on the area, you want the hair gone, and it comes right off. You see, it's battery acid. Oh, wait. That does not sound well. It has some side effects like scarring and pain. But it really works. It really works. He's joking, everyone. Very bad. Small price to pay to not look like Robin Williams. No one do that. Now, if you wax or nears something like that, the hair grows back. So you've got to get that pesky root.
So maybe a cheese grater or something like that. That's not going to help. Well, that way your girlfriend will start thinking you're attractive again and stop trying to get you to co-pilot the Millennium Falcon. What are you talking about, Eddie? That's dangerous. I had to get one. I like Chewbacca. Just one. The whole thing could have been... There he is. What's up, Chewy? Chewy. Our next letter read. That's it. I mean, there was no real advice about it. You didn't hear the wax body spray? Well, that's something you made up. That's not real. It could be real. It should be real. Our next letter reads, Hey, Eddie. I'm trying to help out a buddy of mine by hooking him up with dates with some girls I know. So far, it's been a disaster. The dude is totally nerdy and totally boring. The guy can't hold a conversation to save his life. After every date, the girls say the same thing. He's too boring. Dude, what can I do to make this guy more exciting? Signed, P1 Danny from El Cajon. Eddie? Dear Jethro Dull, this guy, I mean, he sounds more boring than most of Sean's favorite TV shows. That is boring. Why are you taking a shot at Sean? That's really boring. More boring than a conversation with Zef. Ah!
Which is death. That is practically, yeah. You know what I'm saying, Ashley? Absolutely. Oh, he's not even here. He's not here. He's a snake. Unfortunately, bro, you either have a personality or you don't. But, you know, he does have a couple of options for getting a girl. Option number one, which isn't likely at all, find a boring chick like Skye. Oh, wow. I know it sounds impossible. Are you coming after me? But there might be another girl out there who hates eggnog but listens to Tracy Chapman Christmas songs while staring at her unlit holiday tree. I know. It makes my blood run cold, too. Did I say anything that was false? Yeah, I mean, Sky, those are true things. You don't like eggnog, you love Tracy Chapman Christmas songs, and you don't want to put lights on the... holiday tree. Brutal. Sorry, Sky. Or option number two, premeditated abduction. Wait a minute. Hold on. Let me finish. Let me finish. I am not an expert in kidnapping, but I know people.
Maybe, of course, Sean can chime in on this. No way! He's a full-blown psychopathic stalker. Remember the disguise? Actually, I do remember that. He's weird. Tuna, some tips here. Can you help me out, please? No. He's shy. I'll have him email you some techniques. Weird. Weird. No worries. And strange. Glad I could help. I gave two options. Kidnapping? Eddie, get in the game, bro. I got it, homie. Our last letter reads, Dear Eddie. Yes. You seem to be the guy's guy on the show. You like your sandwich like you like your sandwich. That is true. You've also mentioned that you think Donovan's has a great steak. I'm just curious.
If you've ever stopped to think about the animal that had to give its life for you to enjoy your turkey sandwich the way you like it and your grilled steak. You know, you don't have to eat animals to be a man. I played center for Chico State's women's basketball and I never had one ounce of flesh the entire time. Maybe you can consider that the next time you bite into another chicken breast, jerk. Oh! Wow! Wow. Signed, P1 Bonnie. Now, are you sure that's the right email? That sounds more like an opinion than an actual question. Maybe you should... Betty, go ahead. Well, yeah, I think I can still help. Well, I don't know. It needs to be addressed. I think that's just... Dear Shaquille O'Veal... First things first. You are right. I do not have to eat animals to be a man. I have to play basketball at Chico State to be a man. Let me guess. You were scouted by UCLA, Tennessee, all the powerhouse ladies programs. Let me guess. You were so good at Chico State.
You got drafted by the WNBA, right? Now you're the starting center for the Phoenix Cramps. Is that what they're called? Or is it the Seattle Super Absorbents? Houston Rockets? I don't know. I'm like the rest of America. I can't name one team. Now that that's out of the way, on to your email asking me for advice. I don't think you need to address that anymore. I think we get it. By the way, a nice try saying you didn't do anything at Chico, you dope smoker. No. Oh, no. Good thing Bud Light's not a cow. I mean, we do know what they do at Chico. Bud Light's not a cow. Killed plenty of those, didn't you? Beer gut, Bonnie. Listen, I like meat. It tastes good. Oh. When I put it in my mouth, my mouth goes, yeah, real good, real fresh. Yeah, it's real tasty. Yeah, real sweet. Here, here, here, meat. So if you want to eat banana hot dogs or eggplant tenders or whatever, cab at it. But quit dragging your butt across my carpet with your whack job views. A little hard.
Well, the reason you're probably doing that is you probably have ringworm from all the hay you're eating. Plus, that is really the one you should be riding. She's responsible for more pork-related deaths than Oscar Mayer. That's not a two-step. That's not a two-step. It's just getting worse. It's getting worse. Oh, my gosh. And he's pissed. Get off my back. I had nothing to do with that. Don't take it out on Skye. Can you hear it coming up the same street we're doing our appearance at today at 1490 South 43rd Street? It's the sound of healing. Merry Christmas to everybody. Oh, my heart is pounding like Thor's hammer on Dr. Doomsday King infused face paint. Rock 1053. That is not a good thing, yeah. Got a sting. It did a little bit. Well, a lot. Well, yeah. You can still pull it out. That's a good one, Eddie. Well, you never know. You never know. Well, sometimes you know. Well, he kind of really does. Sometimes you just know. Yeah. You're probably not going to go. We've been doing this thing called Secret Santa this week. The idea is that you go to MikeyShow.com and you tell us about somebody that you know.
that is in need this holiday season. We have got many, many letters to those of you that did not get your letter answered. We say, we hope that you're okay, but you have to realize that we get so many of these, we can only do a few. We got this one and kind of touched all of us. It says, my Christmas wish is that my friend Tracy have a Christmas she'll never forget. Tracy always does for others before herself. She continually goes out of her way to ensure that those around her have their needs met, even if it means that she goes without. She visits sick relatives. She visits with friends. She delivers meals when friends are in need. And she never asks for anything in return. Right now, she desperately needs some car maintenance done before her car breaks down. Hopefully, Secret Santa could make this happen. Signed, P1 Sue.
You know, a lot of people that have that situation and around the holidays, it's tough because sometimes you have to make a choice. Do I fix my car so I can continue to get to work or do I get presents for friends? Dude, man, car stuff always happens at the worst time. Right. Murphy's Law, right? It's not cheap either. Sounds like this is the worst time for her. Yeah. That email came from P1 Sue about her friend Tracy and we have Tracy on the line. Hi, Tracy. Hi. How are you? Turned out to cry. Well, first of all, your friend Sue seems like a really neat person. She's the best friend in the world. And do you guys know each other from work, or how do you and Sue know each other? I met her at work 18 years ago. Wow. And she's become a friend and a mentor. She said that a lot of things with your car are starting to break down right now and that it's just a matter of time. You have the clutch. It's probably going to snap any time I shift. Yeah, and you know when that's going to happen because all of a sudden your foot starts to go to the floor with a clutch. Yeah. So that's probably what you're going through right now. Yes. I'm going to let you know that we shared your story with a few different places. And there was one place that came and said that they wanted to do a lot for you.
And that was Midway Jeep. And before we tell you what Midway Jeep has decided to do, I want to tell you that Midway Jeep is a really, really incredible, incredible place for coming forward the way that they did. We talked about this with LT the other day. LT doesn't have to do all the things that he does. He does them out of his heart. And it's kind of where I think... This company is Midway Jeep. What they said that they would like to do is they would like to give you $2,000 worth of maintenance from Midway Jeep. Wow. Now, what that will mean for you is that, obviously, they're going to fix this issue with your clutch. But if you have any issues with that car, anytime in the foreseeable future, you can now take it to Midway Jeep, and they will help you out because...
$2,000 is going to go a long way. Oh, my God. Thank you. You got it, Tracy. Now I'm really crying. Well, I'm going to put you on hold, and we're going to get you all connected with Midway Jeep. I just want to say thank you to them. It was really cool what they decided to do. Merry Christmas to you, Tracy. Thank you, and I'll buy my next car from them. There you go. Oh, that's great. Hang on the line, okay? Thank you. It was pretty cool to be able to help some people out this year. That's a big deal, man. I tell you what, I've been there where my car is broken down and I didn't know what to do. I was going to either eat or fix my car. And it's just the worst, worst kind of thing. And the fact that she doesn't have to worry about that anymore, that's huge, man. That is very cool. It's like from the future or something. It's totally from the future. It's called Phonio. Yeah, it's a great gift idea. So they got a lot of cool stuff. So come down and see us, and also you can do a little Christmas shopping when you're there, too, if you want. We'll be there today at 1490 South 43rd. Hey, you guys that are in the studio, we got a lot of guests in the studio today. You guys that are in the studio, if you got the day off, you should come down there and hang out and see what's going on. Yeah, it's fun. The last one was crazy. It kind of turned into a little party inside the Cricket store. People just kept hanging out and then were dancing and taking pictures. We're going to be there from 11 this morning to 1 this afternoon. So two hours, 11 to 1. And if you're going to go to it, I would get there early, get a place because there was a line and it was long. And so you're going to want to get there for it. 11 to 1 today, Cricket, 1490 South 43rd. It's the 43rd Street exit.
from 805. Sky, give their website. It's mycricket.com slash San Diego. Rock 105.3 Traffic. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. Not one, but two traffic alerts. Northbound 5, very busy from SeaWorld Drive up toward a crash just before the 52 right lane is blocked there. The other one is southbound 15. The lanes have been cleared out for an hour, but the slowing starts at El Norte Parkway or before all the way down past the Via Rancho Parkway. Seen of this earlier crash, putting some pressure on the eastbound 78 as well. People trying to get onto that southbound side of the 15. North on the 805, slowing there from the 94 up toward El Cajon Boulevard and one of the two busiest travel days of the year at the airport to take a summer to the airport and get there early. I'm Jeff Daly with Traffic, Rock 105.3. Something you may have missed this morning on the Mikey Show. Mexican-grown basil has been recalled for salmonella. I know Mexico's got different standards than we do. That is true. This is Vicente Fox. Our standards are much better than your standards are. Oh, really? Yes. They always have been. Then why do I have the impression that it's the opposite? It's propaganda, man. You'd be told to believe, you know. Why is there like arsenic in your toothpaste? No arsenic in your toothpaste. It's only the ones that the little kids sell at the border. That's not the ones you buy in the pharmacia. But what about the lead in the paint?
Letting paint, to a certain extent, is good for you. No, that's not for you. No, it's really not. You know, just depending on, you know, sometimes the lead can be a flavorful additive. No. The Mikey Show continues on The Rock. Yeah, little Johnny Cash, baby. Welcome back. It is 7.30. Nickelodeon is in talks to air a special on teen pregnancy since 16-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears announced she's pregnant. Poinsettia Bowl last night at Qualcomm Stadium. Utah holds on to beat Navy 35-32. That story, Sky, is so interesting. And the reason it's so interesting to me is because I want to know, was it a boardroom over at Nickelodeon? full of decision makers, you know, when Jamie Lynn... Yeah, suits. Yeah, the bean counters. When Jamie Lynn turned up pregnant, was it a bunch of suits getting together and saying, hey, listen, how do we turn this into a positive thing? Or was it, we gotta do something, we gotta do something, we gotta do something. Right. Dry erase board. All right, anybody, throw out ideas. Ideas. My idea is that we...
Sell the company. I'm going back alley abortion, Bob. I say no to that one. No idea is a bad idea here. That one was really bad. This is a safe place. I just want to say as leader of the meeting, this is not a safe place. So just want to throw out that this is not a safe place. I see it as total damage control. Yeah. Obviously. And it was interesting because, you know, when Gary Hoey was in here yesterday, he was talking about his daughter, who he says, what, Eddie, was nine, and how she really wanted to start watching, you know, Jamie Lynn Spears' show, Zoe 101, before this all came out, and they thought that there were too many kind of even adult themes in the Nickelodeon show for his nine-year-old to watch. So it's interesting because sometimes parents will put on Nickelodeon thinking it's totally safe. But if they're planning on airing a special on teenage pregnancy, I don't know how many people want their kids seeing that at whatever age. You know what I mean? I don't know. It's kind of weird. I think you could be right. John McCain has pulled out all the stops. He's got a new ad. And he is combining the fact that he's got POW experience. He is combining the fact that he is Christian.
And his cross was not subliminal. Smart. Let me tell you something. It's what I said to my wife last night. Huck should have done. Huck, quit saying the cross is subliminal. Say, first of all, it's almost making me think when I saw the Huckabee ad, I'm kind of torn. Is it subliminal? Is it not subliminal? Have you seen this guy? Is it subliminal? Is it not subliminal? He's got a new Christmas ad and the camera pans and you see, You see a bookcase behind him, a white bookcase, and with the lighting, the bookcase looks like a cross. And like I said, I haven't seen it, but I'm assuming it's like a normal bookcase. There's books in it. What you see the cross is the big support beam in the middle. It's paint. The bookcase is painted white. Right. So you see the bookcase painted white, and what you're seeing is the bookcase is shaped like a cross. The support pieces that go in the middle.
Every bookcase has that if you examine it, yeah, it makes a cross. I'm 50-50. Okay. 50% of me says, well, of course, they looked at it. They know what it looks like. It looks like a cross. With the lighting, it looks like a cross. Another 50% of me goes, it's a bookcase. Every bookcase is like that. It's a bookcase, and a bookcase looks like that. Okay, so I have both. But I said to my wife last night, I said what he should have said when they started pointing a finger and saying, This looks like you're trying to put a subliminal message out there. He should have said, if I'm his people. Right. Huck, when they say that to you, look into the camera and say, there wasn't anything subliminal about it. It was overt. It's right out there. In fact, in the ad, I say the reason for the season is Christ.
He says that in the ad. But what if he's telling the truth? What if it's just a normal bookcase? Because that's, to me, what he was saying. That's what my wife said. Rebecca said, because how about if it's not that? Right, then he's like lying. Yes, yes. You know, in a lot of cases with Huckabee, he's kind of damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. He says that, either way, he's kind of, you know. Because if the truth is, is that it, It wasn't planned. He's a liar if he says, because I wanted to put it right out there. If he takes credit for something he didn't actually mean. And then the people that set it up come out later and say, no, we set it up. He had nothing to do with it. And he looks like a jerk for that. So either way. Now, McCain seizing the moment. He's saying, hey, check out my cross. Cut one. One night, after being mistreated as a POW, a guard loosened the ropes, binding me, easing my pain. On Christmas, that same guard approached me, and without saying a word, he drew a cross in the sand. We stood wordlessly looking at the cross, remembering the true light of Christmas. I'll never forget that no matter where you are, how difficult the circumstances, there will always be someone who will pick you up. You and your family have a blessed Christmas and happy holidays. I'm John McCain, and I approve this message. Brilliant. Wow.
Argue that. Argue that. Holy cow. It's brilliant. Did that really happen? Right. Let's interview the guard. I don't believe you. Let me tell you something. Some of these political people, and I mean all of them, Democrats, Republicans alike, they got some brilliant minds working for them, man. Yeah, they do. Brilliant people working for them. I heard yesterday that Obama smokes cigarettes. He does? Yes, he's a cigarette smoker. Wow. Interesting. He says he wants to quit, but he's addicted to him. Wow. What do you think about that? I didn't like it. I don't know why. It weirded me out. I pictured our president. I think health. Bad role model. Yeah, bad role model. Like if the president can smoke. Well, he won't smoke on TV, though. But even just knowing that he does. Well, I think there's a positive message there, though. The positive message is, hey, listen. Do what I say and not what I do. No, that is not my message. I'm Barack Obama, and I've approved this. I'll be Barack Obama for a second, and I'll fight all you guys on this. What it shows is that just like many of you, I am a human. Just like many of you, I suffer from the same things that you do. I'm a cigarette smoker. But didn't you accomplish that when you told us you smoked weed?
I did not say I smoked weed. I said I did cocaine. Oh, cocaine. I apologize. I would not smoke weed. Okay, but see, if you're addicted... You smoke cigarettes, you don't smoke weed. I would not smoke marijuana. I like coke. I did like... Oh, okay. Slip of the tongue. Crack is whacked. I didn't smoke... I was never a pothead. Okay. I was a cokehead. Let's not say that. Tons of coke. Piles of it. Piles of it. Remember the movie Scarface and Tony Montana at the end of the movie? That was nothing. You're a little too human right now. I said when I saw that, what a wuss. You can't get more in there? Maybe that's a thing. He says, I'm human. Look, I'm human. I do coke. I smoke cigarettes. If you're addicted to cigarettes, how do we know you're not addicted to cigarettes? Something else. I'm not. I'm telling you the truth. How do we know? Hey, you want to know something, you guys? How do you know all those other candidates don't smoke, too? He's just being honest enough to say it. Yeah. I think it would come out. And I'm Phil Donahue, and we'll be back. Whoa. In your face. Man. Sky?
What? What's your take? Well, my take in regards to smoking cigarettes. No, Barack Obama smoking cigarettes. Not cigarette smoking in general. Well, I think it's bad for you. I think it causes cancer. You got to talk about Obama. What do you think? What do you think? Obama nation. Do you not care? Does it matter? No, it does matter to me. What do people think? 570-1053. Go ahead. I'm nervous, to be honest. Why? Because I think it may insult people. Why? When has that ever stopped you before? Yeah, no kidding. Don't be mad at me, cigarette smokers, but I think it makes them look weak. That they can't get over the addiction. Right. Because he's supposed to be, as president, he's supposed to be cream of the crop. Right. Yes, he's a human being, but he should be stronger than the rest of us. I could not agree with you more. She's not the enemy! I said the same thing about Clinton. Clinton was supposed to not, like, listen, we're all human. I do bad stuff probably way worse than you, okay? And we've gotten into the conversation about, well, you know, dude, you're supposed to be Christian, blah, blah, blah. Okay, well, I'm human too. Okay, now, I said during the Clinton years, Clinton is supposed to, as president, be better than a waka, waka, waka,
In the Oval Office from an intern. Right. He's supposed to be. Because he's the president. And the president is supposed to be... Above that. Above that. He's supposed to be. You're held to a higher standard. Yes. Yes, you are held to a higher standard. Comes with the job. And... Clinton. And... Sean. It happens. Oh, it means it happens. Now, here's the thing about it. It's a four-year gotta-be-good deal. Right. For four years, you really got to be good. Eddie, what do you think? About what Sky just said. I kind of agree with her. I think I do too. Immediately, a flood of thoughts came into my head. One was health, and you want your president to be... good, health-wise. Because, you know, that's one of the things that they send out the president's health report every year. I immediately thought, oh, you've said the thing about cocaine, and now you're talking about cigarettes. That's a little shaky to me. Can I say this? I do not think, I absolutely 100% do not think that that should be what makes your decision on Barack Obama at all. Honestly, you've got to take
20 things into account, and that may be one of them. Right. But, you know, it certainly is not what should make or break your decision. All right, there's definitely bigger issues at hand. That's the only thing that I'm going to vote on. Oh, really? Yes. Whether or not you smoke. Well, because, now see, me personally, I like, I'm a big fan of Mike Huckabee, but there's things that I don't like. Does he smoke? He does not smoke. He gets my vote. Well, wait. Eddie's on the smoke platform now. That's it. John Edwards doesn't smoke. You have to realize that. Great. Now what am I going to do? Hey, do you guys think that there's anything to that thing that I said that Obama's the only one that admits it? Maybe there's other ones that smoke we don't know about. Maybe a couple. You think that there's a couple maybe that smoke and we don't know it? Nothing would surprise me in politics. Give me a break. P1 Red.
Wait. What's up, guys? There you go. What's up, man? Well, Sky said that since Obama or whatever smokes, that makes him weak. But I'd say at least 74% of the military smokes. But she's never really said anything about the military being weak or anything like that. But I'm not voting for, you know what I mean? Like, I don't get a say in the military. I don't get a vote in that. So it doesn't matter what I think. It's weird, though. That's not a question that I've ever been asked before. It's weird because it brings up the question of, Is addiction about weakness or is addiction a disease? Is smoking any different than alcoholism? Is smoking any different than doing heroin? Is smoking any different than cocaine? I don't know. I don't know. I mean, I come from it from the addict's perspective. And so I believe that my addiction is a disease. And there are people in my family that I come from that have had it. I was susceptible to it and I was warned about it when I was younger and I didn't listen. And I drank. And that drank eventually became something that I did more and more and more and more to the point where I was addicted to it. You could say the same thing about cigarettes. You could say, well, guess what, dum-dum? If you don't smoke to begin with, maybe you won't become a smokeaholic and become addicted to them.
The only difference is that I would say that alcohol is kind of more socially acceptable. Like college kids don't necessarily get together and do like smoke keg parties. You know what I mean? Like it's sort of a passage of college and it's sort of a passage even of being a young person. But there is a culture around smoking. No doubt. Going out and taking the smoke breaks. You see the kids on the show here do it all the time. Now will you give me this? Will you give me that? There's a little bit of a difference culturally with drink than smoke. Now drinking is, you know, more. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Acceptable, yeah. So, I don't know. People think about Obama saying that he's a cigarette smoker. P1 Nick. Hey, how's it going? I just want to say, I mean, why is it such a big deal that Obama smokes? I mean, 50 years ago, all the politicians smoked, and it was a good thing. I mean... Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I have an answer for that. 50 years ago, we didn't know that it caused cancer. 50 years ago, we thought that smoking was cool, and we didn't know everything we know about it today. Today, we know. Yeah, today you're making a decision that harms your health, and you know that, and you're making that decision. And should that decision really affect his presidential run? No.
Well, I think that it's something that you take into account just like you take everything else into account. It's something that, you know, but I don't believe that it's a... Yeah, I mean, America takes into account things that shouldn't matter at all, like how somebody looks. Like, you know, that shouldn't matter at all. But as Americans, we care for some reason. Yeah, well, and we should. I mean, we should care. I mean, Sky, whether I agree with what you said or not, that's... Like you're entitled to that. You know what I mean? Like that goes into your decision making. Listen, I'm reading a book that Huckabee wrote right now called Character Matters. And the book starts by talking about when Bill Clinton was going through, it's called Character is the Issue. And the book opens up by talking about when Clinton got the oral sex from Monica Lewinsky. And he's on television and he's saying, I did not have sexual relations with that woman. Right. And when it was all found out that, yeah, you had sexual relations and what's the deal with the blue dress and what's that on there and all this stuff came to light. Yeah. He was doing a press conference and they asked him, how do you answer to these issues of character and you with what just happened? And Bill Clinton's quote was, character is not the issue.
Okay, and the point of Huckabee's book is character is the issue. And so you have to really look into somebody's character when you're making a decision about them because potentially that is the person that is going to be making the big decisions. And I will tell you, as a conservative Republican, this Bush guy seems like a not very smart. I'm being honest with you. I'm being honest. I can't. I can't say anything when I watch Fahrenheit 9-11 and they're telling him in the school room, in the classroom, when he's reading to the kids, hey, these buildings just got crashed into by terrorists. I can't explain away that he looks like a deer in headlights. I mean, he really does. Yeah, and then just sits there. I mean, he does not look strong and like, I'm going to take care of this. May I speak on this? Absolutely, President Bush. If I may. If I may. I hear you talking. Speak on it.
I hear you're talking words, and I need to address this. Please. Please. First of all, I wasn't caught in the headlights, as you say. What was it? I was enthralled in the story. But it was a... Wait a minute. It was a Dr. Seuss book. Yeah. Well, I wanted to know what happened to the blue fish. It's one fish, blue fish, or one fish, two fish, what is the story? Redfish, blue fish, my friend. You don't even know. If you heard the story, then you get it. But isn't the safety of our country more important than the blue fish? It was almost over lax. I get to that stuff. That freaks me out, too. Great book. That kind of freaks me out. I recommend it. That's what I'm talking about. Weird. That's what I mean. P1, Pat is on the line. Go ahead, Pat. What about... cigars like Arnold Schwarzenegger smoked cigars and we had... You keep your mouth shut. They were tough guys. Look at you. So tough calling in to talk about my cigars. Say it to my face. Yeah. Tough call over the phone. Why don't you come down here? Yeah. You're so big and bad with that cell phone in your hand. Why don't you come down here with that high-powered Kyocera and see what you have for me then? I'll put that cigar out in your eye. Yeah.
Say it to my cyborg face. I'll turn your face into an ashtray. How about that? Can you hear me now? P1 Jeff. What kind of cigarettes does he smoke? That's a good question. What brand, right? Thank you. Capri 120's. Executive Chef from Ocean Air will be joining us next. Brian Malarkey is also on the show. Top Chef will be talking to Brian next. What did he get? It's coming up next.

How could he not know? That is true. I'll have to have a talk with him.
Brian Malarkey is in the studio, ladies and gentlemen. How are you, Brian? Very good. Thanks for having me. Brian, as you know, was on season... What season was it of Top Chef? Season three. Season three of Top Chef. And Brian is also the executive chef at Ocean Air, downtown San Diego. Should have won. Awesome! Yeah, I like that. Yes. Should have won. If you have a special occasion coming up... You got to go to, if you've never been to Ocean Air and you like seafood, it's the best seafood in San Diego. I agree. Hands down, greatest seafood in San Diego. And one of my favorite restaurants, period. It's just so, it's incredible. Yeah, we love having you down there. We're really excited. The auto show. I heard a lot of auto show enthusiasts down here. Just two blocks away from the auto show right after Christmas. That's true. That's true. It's walking distance. You cross the street and you're over there at Ocean Air. Go buy your new car. Come over and celebrate with the Ocean Air. So I'm looking at this special, what is it, New Year's Eve menu that you have? Yeah, on New Year's we do a prefix menu. It's five courses. If you come early, it's $75. A little bit later, it's $95. We have a champagne toast at midnight. It's a great bargain, really. It's really fun. We have a lot of different combinations. As opposed to doing an a la carte menu, these are all composed dishes, so it's a lot of fun for us to do.
So do we get to pick one of each? One of each course, yes. You've got a first course, second course, third course, a little surprise, first course, and the desserts are just incredible. Or an en masse bouche. Can I ask what that is? You learned that from Top Chef. I did, I did. You know what that is, Sky? No. It's a bite. You get one bite of basically what the chef is known for. Yes. Or, yeah, just something to invigorate the taste buds. That's the thing about it. As a foodie, I love it because... It makes a bunch of different flavors start going pop, pop, pop, pop in your mouth. And it's all in one bite. Okay, I'll never use that word. It's all in one bite. Sky, what are you going to have? Yeah, I'm looking at your menu here, Brian, and I have a question. So under the soup or salad, there's something called pears drinking champagne with goats. What is that? We have fun with our names on our menu sometimes. So that's a nice pear drinking champagne. It's a champagne vinaigrette with goat cheese. It's like a... Oh, easy with the goat. Okay, okay. It gives an interesting visual. But no, that sounds great. It does. Pears drinking champagne with goats. You know, the sky sends goats to people as gifts. Yeah, that's true. Is that weird? No, that's not weird.
Some people send champagne. Oh, I got a box of pears yesterday, actually. Some people go, hey, what should I give this year? Pears or goats? We got a goat in the studio right now. Who brought this one? You send a goat to a family in the third world. Is that a third world? Well, in a third world country. For those of you that don't know, I believe it was Gene Roddenberry that said there are three ads. We are on first earth. Oh, we are? We are on first world. Okay. Okay, you know what I meant. There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. And then the third world. So they can use the goats to make milk and cheese and have baby goats. You know that's not the way they're doing that goat. Ew, stop it. So it's like donating to charity in somebody else's name is basically what it is. Goat for dinner. Listen to this. Yep. Listen to these now. This would be a great idea for somebody to get because Christmas isn't here yet. This would be a great Christmas gift is to get them this. That would be nice. Yeah, get a gift certificate, make a reservation for them, surprise your loved ones. Absolutely. Listen to these main courses. Local Spiny Lobster Thermidor.
Nice. What's Thermador? Thermador is kind of a, you get some nice mushrooms. We'll probably do like a Chantereau mushroom or an oyster mushroom. You cook it with sherry and it just makes this amazing sauce. You actually take the meat out, cook the lobster, and then you put it back in there and bake it. I'll order that. Oregon Stuff Patrol. Am I pronouncing that right? Patroli Soul. Patroli Soul. King Crab, Bay Shrimp, Triple Cream Brie with Caviar Bure Blanc. Oh my God. Burr Blanc. How about some Burr Blanc? Burr Blanc. How about some South Pacific Big Eye tuna, wasabi, ginger, cilantro vinaigrette, and wakami? Wakami. Wakami salad. What is it? It's a seaweed. It's a cured pickled sesame seaweed. It's really good. Really good. Chianti braised Brant short ribs, polenta cake, and Chino Farms vegetables. Anytime you see the words Chino Farms put together, get it. Get it. Get it. Chino Farms is a local grower. And they make these delicious vegetables. Anytime you see Chino Farms, get it. Hawaiian line-caught swordfish Oscar. What's that? Oscar is like with asparagus and a crab and like a baronese. So it's a really nice, rich crab, swordfish, incredible dish. I'll order that. That was good. You're like ordering everything. Herb rubbed prime rib Hamilton filet mignon.
Tell me about that. So what's really nice is if you're in there with two people or four people, you get like four different things. And of course, you know, the portions out the ocean are a little on the large side, so just keep sliding the plate to the left. Surf and turf. Surf and turf with the lobster thermidor and the filet. Yeah. Money. Grilled New Zealand blue-nosed sea bass. Holy cow. With lobster butter. See, it's New Year's, so it's celebration. We've got champagne. We've got truffles. We've got caviar. We've got, you know, we really go over the top on New Year's. It's a lot of fun. Now, this next one, I've had it, I believe, with your calamari. Maybe I'm wrong, but... Oh, the angry. Angry monster prawns. Yes. You got something on your menu now that's like Diablo or... El Diablo squid. That is the calamari. Eddie, do you remember eating that? Oh, yeah. A little chino latino tomatillo with a sweet chili glaze. All kinds of things going on. Yes. So what's the angry monster prawns? Angry is a preparation that we're kind of known for down the ocean air. We do angry fish, angry lobster. But it's just basil. You insult that beforehand. I insult it. I slap it around. I make sure. The lobster's really proven. It's got a lot of zing to it. That's the angry. Little serrano chili. It dances in your mouth. It looks good, man.
So anyway, that is Brian Malarkey. He's the executive chef down there at Ocean Air. And if you've never been, if you're doing a special occasion, if you've got friends in town and they say, hey, man, I'm in San Diego. I want to have seafood. It's got to be that quintessential only one place you think of is Ocean Air. Somebody turn me on to it. I love you, Mikey. Thank you. I'm telling you, bro. You go. It's what? Fourth and J? Fourth and J. It's one of those deals where I talk, because you know how much I love food, and there's only a few places that I think of that are special, where the food is that kind of step above, and Ocean Air is one of them, man. The food is just, it's unbelievable. I have a Top Chef question. Go ahead, Eddie. Now, I just saw the Top Chef holiday special. Did they approach you at all, or was that a thing that they just had? None of the four finalists from Season 3 were in that, because... We were probably sequestered on some faraway island. Gotcha. Really? Would you come back for specials or anything like that? Oh, what, they're $25,000? I'll get ready to go again. I'm going to redeem myself. We're going into winning. I finally saw that final episode that he was on where you did the, it was like a cowboy thing that you guys were. Yeehaw. It looked good, man. I mean, what you made look good.
And they liked it. The Cowboys loved it. They liked it. The Cowboys loved it, and it was the judges that were turds, so it didn't quite work out. Yeah, we're boycotting Eric Repar's Labrador in New York City on that one. There you go. There's somebody on the phone that has a food question for you. P1 Paul, are you there? Yes. What's your question? Hey, how do you make a bourbon? Bourblanc is a white wine butter sauce. You take some shallots, dice them up, put them in a little bit of wine, and you reduce the wine until there's just a little bit left, and then you just slowly whisk in butter, and it kind of builds and holds together. It's really easy, and then you straighten out the shallots, season it with salt and pepper, and you're good to go. Brian, you're married now. It's a patient sauce. You have to be very, very patient with it. Takes time. Very tender, loving care. You're married now, right? Yes. Okay, a question. When you were in the dating stage, did you ever date a girl that was like Sky or my wife?
where they just didn't care about food. And so it didn't matter if you made them this incredible thing. They were like, well, that's great, but you could have boiled a potato and it would have been the same thing. This is back in the dating game? Well, see, the thing is, here's the deal. Sometimes I didn't care. My wife and Sky, they do not care about food, really. We always want to get them to try new things, and they don't like to try new things. And not only that, but like... they don't really care when it's like real fancy or whatever. Who cares? How do you change? How do you get the... How do you get the I don't care palette to care? How do you change the person you love? Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's what I want. Exactly. Brian, she said it. How do you change the person you love? There was sarcasm. Oh, you were being sarcastic. That's a good question. I was like, wow, you got exactly what I was thinking. That was it. Still a good question. I don't know. You know, down at the Ocean Area, I have people that come in all the time. They say, I don't eat seafood. I don't eat seafood. And I just send them out just one little bite. And just like one nice piece of blue-nosed sea bass or something changes your whole life. This P1 snapper was insane.
here, she said she doesn't eat fish, but she loves your crab cake that you brought in. It's just getting them, just working on the little sloth. Crab cakes, you go with the basic components. You hit them with a little bit of halibut. You just surprise them, they have one bite, and they start realizing that fish doesn't taste like fish. It's not the old fish sticks or that old something your mom used to make that was found in the grocery store back behind the... Those crab cakes are in a whole other world. Baby steps. That's how you do it. Baby steps. The best I've ever had in my life. When we come back, We're going to play Sky's Christmas album. What are you talking about? I don't have a Christmas album. Yeah, Sky's got a new Christmas album out. And so when we come back, we're going to world premiere it. Awesome. Brian, thank you so much for coming in here, man. Thanks a lot. Thanks a lot. Hope to see you down there in the holiday season. For sure. That's Brian Malarkey, Ocean Air, and Sky's Christmas album's next. Hey, Mikey. The Mikey Show is on. I just want to say I love this show. The Mikey Show continues on The Rock. How about a little Michael Bublé? A boo-boo-blay. Welcome back. It is 8-17. A new report released says that sheriffs violated policy when booking Mel Gibson. And at first, you know, she hadn't told me what was going on. And so she's, like, crying. I'm so... And I'm trying to figure out... Now, wait a second, Sean. Hang on. It was really a boo-hoo moment. No, I know, but when you imitated it there, it was a little insensitive. I thought it sounded like a... Oh, well, I didn't mean it to be. Okay. No, no, no. When he did it, he was like, you know, boo-hoo-hoo, and he did it like that. So I thought, oh, he's... Well, it was kind of a boo-hoo. Okay, got it. But, so, apparently, I guess... Zeth found the box. Well, if I may step in. Okay, go ahead. All the credit goes to our lady sitting across from me, Skye. What is going on here? What is happening? Skye found it. I'm hearing names. Skye found it? I'm hearing his wife, Zeth, Skye. What? What happened?
Well, because basically, you know, they were very upset. They had spent a long time gathering these gifts, all the time and money and effort, you know. So this was really important, and it was delivered a long time ago, and this box just went missing. But the receipt said that it was delivered here and signed for and everything. And so, you know, I'd been asking around and checking everywhere, and then finally, you know, I was coming down to the wire, and Shauna goes, well, you know what? It's got to the point, let's send out a San Diego everyone email asking if anyone knows. So this one guy writes and goes, yeah, you know, I think I saw a box that said Mikey Show over near Roger Hedgecock's office. Huh? And so Shauna goes, hey, Sky, will you go over there and check? I'm like, totally. Totally. And so I didn't know where Roger Hedgecock's office is. How's the Roger Hedgecock show? You haven't heard the Roger Hedgecock show? So I said to Zeth, hey Zeth, do you know where this office is? Yes. I said, can you go look for a box that says the Mikey show? By the Roger Hedgecock show? Right. Okay.
Zeth comes back, no box over there that says Mikey Show. I look through all of them, Skye, there's no box. And I'm like, well, this one guy swears he saw it over there. I know this is stupid, but please, can you go check again? Okay. Goes and checks again. Surprise, surprise, there's the box. I'll check again, but I'm telling you. Yeah, and so... I really look for... Sorry, if you really want to make me out. What? I didn't get that. The first time when I looked, I went... Yeah, what part have I already looked at? So the story was portrayed to Sean's wife, Dina, like Zeth found it. And so Dina's writing this email, oh my gosh, thank you, Zeth. I'm going to send you a special little gift for, you know, working so hard to find this and everything. But really, it was a group effort between me and Shauna. No, Zeth didn't even try. No, between me and Shauna. Shauna and Skye made him go double check. Well, after he came back and told me it wasn't there. What did he do? Just walk over there? Slouched over there? No, he said he looked at every single package. And I said, well, please go, just please for me. There was a whole bunch of them by Hedgecock's door? Yeah. Well, the box was. The box was. Well, when he says, I looked through every single one of them, what is he talking about? You'd have to ask him. I was just happy he found the box on the second time around and that I forced him to go back. He was looking through Hedgecock's mail? I don't know. I don't get it. I don't know.
But I'm very happy. Apparently Dina was too. Yes. Yeah, she was really happy. So these were tears of joy. Yeah, definitely. Because, you know, we've had, you know, just some issues going on. And so it was really, really nice to have some good news. Where is the box? In the office. Okay. Yeah. Yeah, Dina was working real hard. Like, she was calling the office buildings on either side of us to see if maybe they, I mean, this meant a lot to them. Let me explain. To explain. Explain. Sean doesn't live here. Sean is our sound effects guy. He wanted to give gifts to all of us on the show, but he lives in the Bay Area. So his wife sent the gifts. His wife handles the correspondence for their family. Yeah. She handles everything. It works like that. She wrapped them all. Aw. Picked them all. It's the best. Aw. And so it sounds like they got lost. Well, they didn't get lost. Somebody just put them in a weird place and didn't tell anyone. Roger Hedges. That would be lost. Well, no. I mean, they were here in the building. Even though it was specifically addressed to you guys. Who do we think put it there is the question. My bad.
Mail person? Well, I'm not saying it got lost in the mail. It got here. You jerk. I can't. I accept your apology. Scoundrel. So anyway, the box is found. Yay! And I feel that we have appropriately credited the right person. Thank you. Because, you know. Seth does not deserve any credit. Yeah, Seth gave up. But they said that he found it. He's a mumbling sloucher. Because I made him go back again after he claimed it wasn't there. Yeah, I know. Jerk. Right? Guy trying to steal my thunder. Jerk. Well, all I know is that that is the second thing that Sky has done to save this holiday season. The second? What was the first?

Way to go, Sky. Yeah. No way. No way. Absolutely touched by that. Yeah, I'm sure everybody was really touched by that. Oh, for sure. I'm sure, Mike. Mikey Show. Hey, what's going on? What's up, dude? Hey, see if Sky's going to be going to, like, New Hampshire. Sky, are you going to? Oh, did you come up with that? I mean, that's not even creative. She's scolding the P1s in here. I mean, they're laughing.
the funniest thing they've ever heard. Maybe it is to them. Why do you get mad at them? That's a good one. That's a pretty good one. Let's not. Are you going to New Hampshire? Are you? What if you want to know? Or maybe the Hamptons? What do you think I've ever heard? Ow. The show has come to? Yeah. Oh my gosh. Mikey show. Oh my gosh. This is so awkward. Wow. Mikey show. Oh my gosh. Hey, Zach, that was the funniest thing I've heard in my life. Thank you. Well, you have Sky to thank. She's wonderful. What a wonderful singing voice you have. It really is. It's beautiful. Kind of makes you want to hear it again. Oh, it does.
pronounce words to save my life. Happy Claus is coming down. Or just listen while you're in the kitchen. I didn't write it. All I want for Christmas is a honey-baked ham. Honey-glazed ham. Don't you know who Rob wrote it? I did not voice this. It's been burning. You voiced it. You voiced it. Oh, Frosty the Hamman. I don't know what's going on. Let's start again. Sky's Happy Hammy Days even includes this special bonus track, The Twelve Days of Hamness. That's really beautiful. If you want Sean. What's up, man? I remember her playing the gremlin girl in Gremlins 2. That's what I most remember about. Rob, that wasn't her. What? That was her. I liked her best when she was fighting for that ring right before it was... No, you guys. Beautiful. She's a beautiful lady. No, you can't feed her after midnight and don't get her wet. No. Stop it. She's not a gremlin. Yes. Stop it. I liked her best when she said, Misa likes it. No, you guys. Or when Elliot put her in that basket on his bicycle. The Mikey Show continues. Rock 105.3. A little Mariah there, huh? What are you going to do? Welcome back to the show. I want to apologize one more time to Sky for Rob's behavior. I would like to apologize to the P1s for getting beat up by Sky in the break. Well, I mean, I just thought I had a better take on that. She's yelling at him for thinking that's funny. It was really uncomfortable. It was not. Now they feel bad. You guys, I'm really sorry for her behavior.
It's okay to think it's funny. Because it is. Well, it's not. It's hysterical. You're right. It's okay to think funny things are funny. All right. Welcome back to the show. It is 834. Two women have been charged with sexually assaulting a group of University of North Carolina football players. Huh? Did you read that right? I think you probably had it backwards. Say it again. Two women have been charged with sexually assaulting a group of University of North Carolina football players. Male football players. How is that even... These couple girls sexually assaulted some guys? Yes. Are these poor men okay? It was pretty scary. I knew the Tar Heels had a bad football team, but... It was pretty scary, but... I can't even imagine that. What? What did they do, these monsters? Okay, so three football players are out for the night at a local bar, and they meet up with these two girls and a guy.
And they're all hanging out and whatever. And they go, oh, you know, the football players go, let's go back to our place. And, you know, a little post party back at their off-campus apartment. So they go back there. And I guess there was some consensual sexual stuff going on between the football players and the two women. And then one of the dudes said no. One of the dudes tries to, like, leave the bedroom, and he goes out of the bedroom, and at that point, he finds... She tackled him. The football player. Yeah, she tackled the football player. And as he's walking, because like I said, the football players met up with two girls and a guy at the bar, right? So there's a total of six of them. So as the one dude is walking out of the bedroom, he finds the guy, not the football player, but the guy, naked with a big old knife. And then pushes the guy back into the bedroom. The women tie him up to the bed and start fondling him. He's screaming no. The more he screams and resists, the more the naked guy puts the knife to his throat. So it's obviously a real bizarre, weird... The other dudes are tied up, and then in addition to that, they're robbing the place. The other dude. Well, because there were three football players, and then there were two girls and the guy.
So the other football players were tied up? Yeah. So this guy was able to get... All three football players? Yeah, see, that's where, because they're not releasing a lot of details. All the details that are coming out are from a local paper in North Carolina. And I read from multiple sources, and I could never find out how they were able to subdue the other two guys. Sorry, what? They do say they were subdued. Maybe the chicks are ninjas. Maybe. Maybe it was Charlie's Angels. Real crazy. Yeah, Charlie's Angels. So they've been charged with sexual assault. Uh-huh, yeah, there's a whole bunch of charges. It's impossible! Robbery, sexual assault, conspiracy to commit a felony, resisting arrest, robbery, possession of stolen goods, assault on a government official, because when the cops showed up, they started fighting the cops. Get out of here. How did the cops show up while they were still there? Because a neighbor heard the guy screaming no.
Screaming no means no. Oh my gosh. Yeah. Wow. Brutal. This is one of the craziest stories I've ever heard. I know. That's crazy. That is nuts. Yeah, it happened over the weekend. Mikey Show. Hello, this is P1 Chewbacca. What's up, dude? And I've got a little Christmas carol that I wrote for Sky. Okay. Thank you, but no. I would love to hear it. I would love to hear it. Maybe not. Let's hear it. Oh. I wish I could put that on there, but can't actually air that last part there, buddy. That is not something we could put on the radio.
Funny, but not something we can... Let me finish it out. Well, but I don't know if something else you're going to say is... Yeah, he didn't do that for me. Yeah, you can't say that part right there. All right, is the rest of it clean, Rob? He didn't do the rest of it. Oh, okay. Well, then maybe he's ad-libbing. Listen, I love it so far. Thank you very much. Don't want to take any chances. I heard that first part, and that was gold. Yeah, please hold. That was good. I liked the first part. It was the best. Japan called off some plans to kill some humpback whales. Why did they have plans to do that? Well, they were calling it a research hunt, which I don't know how you research hunting. You just kill things. off the coast of Antarctica. And when the U.S. got wind of that, they said, yeah, you shouldn't be doing that. And so Japan said, okay, whatever. Killjoys. Sky has a list of the AP's Celebrities of the Year. Got a couple lists here. You guys want to guess or you just want me to tell yours? I think we know who number one was. I think we all know who the number one celebrity is in my heart and mind.

One day of the year, you would think. It's Friday. You know, either my birthday or half birthday should be that day. You'd think they would let it go. One day of the year. Not bunny booze. I can't remember that day. Oh, Eddie. Oh, my. How many times do I have to explain this? I didn't completely forget. It's not mine. Don't care. I do care. I love that man very much. Is the birthday called M-I-N-E? Is it? If it's not, the rhyme goes, if it's not, you must forget. Not how it goes. Yeah, that's a great rhyme. That's not the way it goes. Just made that up. I'm very conservative on a daily basis when it comes to the wardrobe. Sean. I floss a minimum of Three times a day. Boston Rock. It's a transient style that I've developed. And Ashley. I can't control my laughter. I laugh at everything. On Rock 105.3. A little Johnny Cash. A little blue Christmas. It's 9 o'clock. Terrell Owens says he was just kidding when he warned Jessica Simpson to stay away from cowboy games. Everybody don't freak out. What? There are a limited amount of tickets that go on sale today at 10 a.m.
For the Chargers' first playoff game. Now, don't freak out. Don't freak out. What? That's pretty cool. One hour. I'm down. Let's see. This is Denzel Washington finding out how he got nominated for a SAG award. Cut five. We heard about the nomination. In bed. At 4.30 I woke up and tried to be cool and go back to sleep. I'm sitting there. Yeah, I woke you up. That's right. And I went online and there it was. Now what about attending the awards if the strike is still going on? We'll see what happens. Hopefully we won't have that bridge to cross, but we'll see what happens. Interesting. Here's Miley Cyrus on Okra Winfrey. It's pronounced Oprah. And she's talking about her intense fans. Cut 17. I've had rooms at this one girl. She made her entire room wallpaper of pure pictures of me. And it's something crazy like 25,000 little pieces of me. Like all this crazy stuff. And it was so awesome to get to see this. So I've seen a couple people that have been really intense. They've seen stuff that even I haven't. So after a while, does the intensity feel a little weird?
Well, only when my sister is one of those people that have the bedspread, the pictures, all that kind of stuff. That's weird. Now, Miley Cyrus just celebrated her 38th birthday, right? Oh, yes, yes. Her and Dakota Fanning. I'm just going by that clip. I'm just going by that clip. Hang on, let me take a drag real quick. How old is Siley Miley Cyrus? Didn't she just turn, was it 14 or 15? Wow. Yeah. That doesn't sound like a 14, 15-year-old to me. That's crazy! You guys ready to do the white elephant? Oh, my God. Oh, listen. Oh, my God. I've never done white elephant in my life. And we're going to do it on the air, see how it works. Okay. All right, a white elephant gift exchange. Eddie, explain how it works. Basically, a white elephant gift exchange is we all purchase something, and it's unmarked, so we don't know who bought what. And we're going to draw numbers, one through six. Six of us are participating because Sean's in the Bay Area and can't pick a gift. So the rest of us are going to pick a gift, and we're going to open it on the air. And then the next person who goes can either steal that gift or open a new gift. And you can steal a gift up to two times. Right, Sky?
Three. Three? Yeah, I thought it was three. But there's a smaller group of us, so I would say two would be more fair. Two times. Yeah. And once it's stolen for the second time, nobody can steal it again. How do we know the order we go in? We have to pick numbers. Okay. Did he just say that? You're so cute. Did he just say that? Yeah. You're cute. Now we're going to draw numbers, guys. Yeah, that's so we know what order we go in, Mike. Well, how do we know who goes first? Based on the number on your piece of paper. I got four. Ooh, good number. Good number. You want to go high? You want to go... Six. That's the best, right? What up, what up? That's the best because... Today is awesome. What'd you get, Eddie? Two. Oh, I'm going to get one, I know. So the worst to get is one, right? Yeah, pretty much because you don't have a lot of options. Right. I got one. I knew it. I'm stealing whatever you got, Rob. Let it be known. Not bad. So Zed is three? Zed's three. Can I come in there? Awesome. Come in here, you guys. Can I come in there? Finn's dead, baby. All right. Rob got one. Are you ready, Zed? Now, where are all the presents? They're all sitting on the chair right here. So you've got to come over and grab them. On one. All right, Rob, you're first.
Let's see what he's going to get. I'll describe it to you when he grabs it. He's taking a look. He really wants to know, which one should I do? He's going for... Uh-oh. He's going for the one that is in a red... Hang on a second. He's going for the one that is in a red and green wrapped paper. And it's got pictures of Santa Claus and snowflakes on it. And it says, ho, ho, ho. He is opening. He is ripping. is opening... What is it, Rob? It is... I actually need these. What is it? Dish towels. It's dish towels. This is awesome. It's dish towels. It looks like from... William Sonoma. Those are nice ones. Those are, yeah. They're very nice William Sonoma dish towels. I will use these for bathing. Well, there you go. That makes it awkward. Now, they're his. Now we just go to Eddie. So I can steal that or choose a new gift. Got it. Got it. I will choose to open another gift. Oh, that's weird. You don't want the dish towel. Well, they're very nice, but I know Rob needs them. Well, they are nice. I'll be cool. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Eddie is looking. Now, at the end of it, do we get to find out who got what? Is that how it works? If you want to. Wow, Sky, I don't know what to make of that tone. I want to know what you got. You got a tone. I want to know what you got. Definitely. Eddie picked one that is square. If I had to take a guess, it looks like a calendar.
Looks like a calendar. Could be a record. Could be. It could be. Could be a record, but it looks like a calendar. Right. It could be a golden wafer. Let me see. Shut up, Sean. It's in very shiny paper. That's pretty paper. Like glittery, shiny, multicolored paper. What is it, Eddie? What is it, Eddie? What? Nuns having fun calendar. Nuns having fun calendar. Which I actually like. 2008. That's actually great. Awesome. That is pretty funny. So, Eddie, it's yours to have. Unless somebody steals it. Unless somebody steals it. Somebody steals it, then I get to open another gift. Zeth, you're next. Go over and select a gift. Or you can steal. Rob needs towels. Gear fan on the calendar. You're a fan of nuns having fun. He's going to let you keep it. He's going to let you keep it. All right, he picked what looks like the biggest box. It's a blue wrapping paper with a silver bow on top. It's got little snowmen all over it. See, I have a weird feeling about that one. Why?
Well, just because it's wrapped so cute and so pretty, there's something shady going on in there. Well, it makes me think that because it's wrapped so pretty, only Skye or Ashley could have wrapped it because their girls and guys can't wrap like that. Unless they had their woman do it. The biggest one is usually sketchy. All right. Go ahead. Good luck, Zed. Zed is opening. It is... A damn cup. A what? Wow. A pimp cup. That's perfect for you. It's a goblet. It's a goblet. It's a big black goblet. That's so dope. With artificial diamonds that spell out the word pimp. I would have stolen that. Bling, dude. It's real bling. It's real heavy bling. It's called the Royale Pimpenstein. Wow. Oh, well. It's got to be fancy. That is nice. That is nice. All right, I'm fourth, so it's my turn. You can steal anything that's been opened.
Or you can open a new gift. Nothing has been stolen yet. I'm considering the pimp goblet. Yeah, it's cool. Nun's having fun calendar looks pretty good, too. Rob needs the towels, whatever. That's for sure. All right, I'm going to open a gift. Okay. I'm going to open a gift. Now, you could be stuck with something bad. Remember that. All right. I'm going to take my chances. Taking a chance here, Mike. There's only three things left. There are three things left. And one is in an envelope. Envelope. What looks like cookies in a tin. I mean, it's a tin. It's obviously re-gifting. Yeah, it's weird. It's exactly like the tin that ZZ gave us cookies in the other day. It's weird. That's weird how that happened. Go for the envelope. I'm taking the envelope. That's dangerous. Door number three. Big time door number three. I'm very confused by the game. Just want to be honest. You're the best. Well, I get very confused with numbers. And for the record, we explained this to him like four times in the office. There's no way. If you ask me about this, by the time we do our appearance at 11 a.m., I couldn't tell you how to do the white elephant gift exchange. All right, I'm opening the envelope. It is a card. It says, Season's Greetings.
And inside are lottery tickets. Oh, Rob. That's definitely from Rob. Merry Christmas to you. Happy New Year, too. Let's see. The Big Spin, Wild Sevens, Mad Money, Straight Eights, Fire and Ice, Red Hot Doubler, Double It, and Holiday Bingo. Now, if I win with one of these, boy, the person that gave these to me could be worth a lot. If they're still in your possession. They can be stolen. Is that how it works? Who's up? All right, who's fifth? Ashley's up next. I'm going to open this. You're not going to take the... Wait a minute. You're not going to take the lottery tickets? Why aren't you going to take the tickets? She wants to open the square thing that looks like a CD. Did you see the pimp tablet? I don't want any of that. Wait, into the microphone. Idiot. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, no, no. And, I mean, open the present right in that mouth. I don't want any. I want this. Okay. Do you know what that is? It looks like a CD. She's opening. Looks like a CD. She's opening. The new Celine Dion CD. Wow. Wow.
That is really gorgeous. That is really gorgeous. Make sure we think those lottery tickets. Skye, are you sixth? Who's sixth? I'm sixth. Hand it over. Hand it over. Hand it over. She's stealing my laundry. No, no, no. You can steal from somebody else or you can open that. You can take what was taken from me. No, you cannot steal back. No steal back. But I have the benefit of knowing what stuff is. You know what everything is. You're in a good spot now. Check out Celine Dion. She's a unicorn. You love her voice. You love her voice. She's huge in Vegas. I choose. Chuck it right here. I choose. You're right. What has not been opened yet? You're a bastard. That's awesome. This will be the end of the game. Oh, I love it so much. Celine, you don't like Celine? I understand. This is a crazy decision. Well, if I steal one of those things... At least you know what you get. You know what? I don't want you to have it anyway. I know what I get. Now she's using reverse psychology. Now I kind of want it. Now I kind of want it. Do I want... Did you see the pimp cup? Did you see? That is awesome. Now, wait a minute. I'm going to use... Before I take this...
Before I take this. Too late, you already did. No, Eddie handed it to me. I want to consider. I can't take the lottery tickets because I gave them to Sky. But I do have to consider the fact that this probably came from Sky because I thought I saw this thing in the office that had his cookies in it. The only person that would be cheap enough to re-gift in that kind of way is Sky. Oh, you don't know that. You don't know that. You don't know that. I would 100% blame Zath. Which means that whatever is inside... You don't know that. Seth or Rob. In which I would not trust that at all. If it's baked goods in there. I don't believe it's baked goods in here. But I'm going to open it. There it is. Decision made. We're stuck with what we have. End of the game. Yes, Celine is the best. Because you know if you would have taken somebody else's gift, they would have taken my lottery ticket. Let's see. It is... Candy canes, which I can't eat because of the sugar deal. Awesome. Congrats. And let me see. A CD. Ooh, I like. The Real 70s. Three CDs. Original artists. Recordings of the 70s, which I will like. That's perfect for you. I love it. I like 70s music. Awesome. Nice job. Not bad. I enjoy it. Now, do we get to find out who did what? No, I don't think we should.
No, I don't want to. I don't want to. I'd rather not. I'd rather not. I want to know. You have to know. I want to know. I'm only, wait a minute. I'm only sure about two items. What? I'm sure about two items. Oh, he's going to be so wrong. Oh, you're guessing? Yeah, I'll guess. Okay. I'm going to guess at two items and who they came from. Lottery tickets had to be robbed. Right? Can we say? Did you not just hear him say you're welcome, Mike? You got that? He just said that to you. Holy cow. No, I didn't hear him. The weird thing is, is I hoped you got that. Really? Yeah. Dude, I love it. I love it. So I wasn't the one who re-gifted the tin. He re-gifted the tin. I'm cheap. Then I don't know what Sky got. Maybe Sky got the towels. Oh, I know. I just... Eddie, I believe you got the pimp goblet. Sky got the lotto ticket? Of course I got the pimp goblet. Sky, did you get your own lottery ticket? You stole your own gift? You stole your own gift? Awesome. You are so unbelievable. Money. Rebecca, by the way, my wife instant messaged me, take the towels, take the towels. William Sonoma. I couldn't take them from Rob. Yeah. I couldn't take them from Rob. All right, Skye, you got the lottery tickets. Ashley, hmm, Celine Dion CD. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I knew it. I knew it.
tin and I didn't want the envelope or whatever was left, I'll take saline crap. You can do that, right? See, we got this all worked out after. We know how this works. Well, I knew mine was a good gift. So, Zeth, what did you get? None's having fun. Awesome! I got the William Sonoma towels. Nice. There you go. It's our very first. You got the goblet, Eddie? Yeah. Sweet. Eddie got the goblet. How dope is that? So dope. It is our first white elephant gift exchange when we come back. We got Amy from the car show. Don't go anywhere. That's kind of what's on our mind. I would like to welcome our good friend Amy Foley to the studio. Amy! That's right. Smells so good. Well, Amy comes in. Smells so good. Thanks, Ash. You smell like your perfume now. She comes in at this time of year because we like to talk about the San Diego International Auto Show. Yeah. Talk about it. I saw a billboard for it yesterday, and I don't know what the car was, but it was a cool car on the billboard. It was a Lexus concept vehicle. Sweet. Now, I was there last year, and I went every day, and I'm going to go every day this year. And basically, this is what I said when I was recording the spot for the auto show. It's like celebrity cars. The same way if you were to go someplace where there was going to be all these celebrities that you really like, and you want to meet them and shake their hand, it's the same thing if you're a fan of cars.
These are car celebrities. So like Lightning McQueen from Cars, the Pixar movie. No, not exactly. Not exactly, but... How do you like the Batmobile? Yes, right. The Fatmobile. Yes, right. If you read any of the Car and Driver, Motor Trend, Automobile Magazine, if you read any of those magazines and you see these new cars that are coming out and you're into them, they're... probably going to be there. They're going to be there. Remember last year, you're all, um, I'm coming every day and I didn't believe you and you did. And we got Jake a media credential on a stroller. So what stuff, like tell me cool cars that are going to be, um, there's going to be a lot of cars. There's going to be, um, 11 concept vehicles, which people love to see, because it's kind of a sneak peek into the future of what cars may look like. There's a lot of awesome pre-production models that are going to be there, and a lot of new models that aren't on the showroom floor quite yet. They got that flying car yet? Oh, yeah, the one from the Jetsons. You must mean the 2011. We have the Dodge Fantastic Car. There it is now. Okay. It's on its way to the convention center. That's awesome.
How about hybrids? We got some hybrids? Oh, Skye, we have a special treat for you. Shut up. Shut up, Skye. We have a whole dedicated area to the show. It's called the Eco Center, Skye. Oh, I'm so happy. It's all things green. It's like all the green technology and hybrids and electric cars and all the green environmentally friendly. It's a whole 10,000 square feet dedicated to that. Then I am there. I knew you would enjoy that. Shut up. Shut up, Sean. It's parked in my garage. Any of those hybrids got bells and whistles on them so people don't get hit? Have you heard about that, Amy? It's really dangerous. Stop it, you guys. How quiet the hybrid car is. It is a rough room. Do you know what she's talking about? No clue. Fill her in. Come on, we have a lot to cover here. Leave Sky out of it. Thank you, Amy. Sky's mom has a... I love how he follows directions so well. She has a... New cause. Lawsuit pending. No lawsuits. She thinks that the electric vehicles or what is it? The hybrid vehicles, they're too quiet, right? The hybrids? Yes. They're quiet when they run on their electric engines. And so, you know, people that can't hear or can't see. People that can't hear or can't see, Skye. People that can't see. People that can't see. People that have pain. And use their ears to hear the car coming can get hurt by the ones that can't hear.
She wants to put cowbells on them. No, that they should have it make a noise that simulates an engine so deaf people don't accidentally step in front of a hybrid. There comes a car. You hear it? I'm not saying that would be the news. I see the point. You get it. And we'll move forward with talking about maybe the Nissan GTR. Thank you. I was actually going to ask about the GTR. That's your kind of car. All the speed. Do you know what a dyno is? Yeah, yeah, yeah. So it's like, and I'm not an expert on it. Dyno is a technology that they're using, and it's really cool. It's very futuristic. And Lexus is bringing out a whole dyno tour, so they load up one of their cars on almost like a smog check type of diagnostic, and you get in the car and you just rev it up so you can feel what it's like to go 400 miles an hour. That's going to be there. The cool thing about that GTR. You're a speed junkie. The cool thing about the GTR is that this Nissan GTR is a new car coming to America. And it is to compete with the Porsche. It's going to compete with Porsche because it's real fast. It's like a 400 and some horsepower vehicle. It's a cool car. But when you go out there, you're going to see all these different manufacturers. So they'll have Ford out there. They'll have Chevy, Toyota, BMW, Mercedes.
companies out there so you could see all the different cars and you walk up to them you can sit in them you can touch them you can smell them you can do the whole thing exactly there's over 36 manufacturers over 400 cars it's a non-selling environment so you couldn't buy a car if you wanted to so it's really an opportunity to get in take in the new car smell kick the tires do what you're going to do whether you're in the market or not so it's a great place to go and for those of you that are like uh yeah i'm probably never going to buy a jaguar It's nice to be able to go sit in a Jaguar. If you're going, I'm never going to be able to buy an Escalade, it's nice to go sit in an Escalade and see what's it like. Or a drop-top Bentley at $420,000. It's nice to get in and maybe just feel the wheel. I was going to be my next car. Yeah, I was going to go. I was going to get a condo or a car, and I decided I'll just live in my car. Rob's lived in his car before. That's true. That's true. It's my next house. For Rob, that's like an apartment. Well, Aime, so when is it? When is the show going on? The show opens next Wednesday, the day after Christmas, December 26th through 30th. You can get all the information at sdautoshow.com. It's a really cheap ticket. Discount coupons are everywhere. And it's more than cars. There's a lot of fun, interactive things. Ride and drives, all sorts of cool stuff. Charger girls are going to be out there. Luis Castillo is going to come out on Friday. So just check out the website.
site because all the information is on there. Is there different stuff going on different days in terms of like is there one day that's more family oriented? Is it like that? We have a family day which is on Sunday so kids 12 and under get in free with a paid adult. But it's a great family event. I mean it's cool just to go down. Like I said it's a pretty cheap ticket. I heard it's a great stocking stuffer. It is Eddie. Thank you. Can you eat there? You can eat there. And then this year, back where we're having that Toyota Trucks off-road adventure, Original Tommy's is setting up shops. So there's going to be burgers, Original Tommy's. You can go off-roading in a Toyota truck on this totally awesome off-road course that they build out with like 1,000 tons of dirt. So that will all be out behind the convention center in conjunction with the auto show. Is there car models? You know how sometimes they have models that stand by the cars? Yes, they are called product narrators. Really? Where does that come from? And if you call them anything different, they give you stink eye very quickly. Yes, we are product specialists and narrators. They don't like car hoochie. No. They shouldn't say, are you a car hoochie? They're not car hoochies. If you say, are you a car model? Yeah. It's over. They don't like car model? Yeah, and they don't like loud music. So like in the different exhibits, you know, the narrators are trying to do their thing and then other exhibitors will like crank up the music and you can just see like.
Turn it down, please. Oh, really? Yeah, it's kind of funny. That's pretty awesome. You do get a lot of information and things that you wouldn't know about vehicles. I got five four-packs if you want to go. Call me now. 570-1053. I have five four-packs. You got the hookup. If you want to go. Call me now. Let's do it. Eddie, do we need a break? No. Okay, good. So there it is. We'll give some of those away right now at 570-1053. Thank you, Amy, for coming in. I appreciate it. It's the San Diego International Auto Show. The audio that I'm about to play for you should be weird. Passenger traveling to Boston on an AirTran flight discovered her seat was wet after takeoff. The seat she was assigned to had been soaked with urine. Her jeans and sweater were so wet. That's not cool, man. The flight attendants had to give her a new seat assignment and a blanket cut, too. I was sitting maybe 30 seconds to a minute and realized that my pants were soaked. I realized that I was saturated in urine from the smell. And the woman flight attendant told me that on the previous flight, a man had urinated on himself in that particular seat. And I said, well, I'm not sitting on a three-hour flight soaked in somebody else's urine. That is absolutely disgusting.
I can't believe that happened. How does the airline attendant or whoever... Well, not only that, if they know about it, how did they let somebody sit in that seat? How did they let the plane take off with that? That's horrific. Yeah, isn't that a safety hazard? Would that have bothered you, Sean? Okay. Isn't that a safety hazard? It's got to be a health hazard. And you're telling me they didn't smell it? Give me a break. Oh, wow. Come on. No, they had to because they knew. They told the lady what it was. That's crazy. When she said to them, I'm all wet, they go, oh, yeah, that's because a man urinated in that seat. Oh, okay. Thank you. At least I know now. Could you at least put down some newspaper or something? That's so disgusting. That ain't right. Let's see. I already did the John McCain thing. John McCain is a smart guy. Guy knows what he's up to. Well, he knows that Mike Huckabee was kind of under fire because of the cross that he had in the background of his ad and whether or not it was subliminal or not. McCain says, I don't care. I'm putting it out there. I'm going to mention the cross. So he's combining the fact that he was a POW.
With the fact that he's Christian and the cross, and he's going for it. I'm John McCain and I approve this message. It's very smart. Yeah, big time. It's a very smart thing to do. This is an interesting story. Katie Holmes says that Tom Cruise's kids call her mom. Tom Cruise's ex-wife says they don't call her mom. Oh, that's right. Yeah, like Nicole Kidman did an interview maybe about like a month ago. We talked about it where she says it drives her crazy because her adopted kids with Tom Cruise always call her Nicole. And she goes, call me mom. I'm your mom. Call me mom. Well, Katie Holmes just did an interview with Parade Magazine where she says that Tom's adopted kids are the best. And it's so neat because now they're at the point where they feel comfortable calling her mom. I have a theory on it. Ouch. I have a theory on it.
What? Maturity. That's my theory. What do you mean? Well, when Tom Cruise was married to Tom Cruise's ex-wife, they weren't very mature. And when she would say, call me mom, they probably didn't do it out of like, like little brats. Like they were being brats. But the Nicole Kidman story was just from like a month ago. I know, but this is when she was with him, right? No, these are still her children. They share custody of these children. Are they her children? They share custody of these children. What I'm saying is... They're the kids that they adopted together. Oh, I see. I see what you're saying. So, I mean, they, to this day, are not calling Nicole Kidman mom. Do they call him dad? Yes. So they call him dad. They've never called her mom. No. I mean, maybe when they were little, but she was telling us... Why would they go from not calling her mom to calling her mom? Or calling her mom to not calling her mom? I don't know. I don't know what they used to call her, but all I know is that as of last month, she was saying... It's maturity. Her kids are not calling her mom. So why did they mature with Katie Holmes, but not with their own mother? They've gotten mature. They've grown up. They're not little brats anymore. But no, today they are not calling Nicole Kidman mom. I understand, because they never have. They were brats. They went into never calling her that. Oh, so they just stuck with it. Yeah, I mean, I don't think that they changed with her. You know what I'm... Sometimes you get a dynamic going with somebody. Even if you're being a snot, you go, I'm not going to call you mom. You're Brad.
So I'm going to call you Brad. You're not my real mom. Yeah. Nicole. Janet. Whatever. Dad's wife. Golden Compass sucked. So you get into the habit. So you don't change it. I see what you're saying. And now with Katie Holmes. And it could be that they didn't like her. But I've never heard her say that they flat out didn't like her. I've never heard that be a story. Who didn't like Nicole? Yeah. No, why wouldn't they not like her? I mean, she adopted them. Exactly. So I don't think that that was the deal. No. And they've grown up a little bit, and they probably like Katie Holmes, and she says, call me mom. They go, all right. Yeah, still slapping. Maybe they're bigger fans of Dawson's Creek than they are of Keith Urban's country music. I never thought of that. Who wouldn't be? Ruben Studdard's been dropped from his record label. Oh, but he's American Idol. He's the Velvet Teddy Bear. Yeah, what happened? Just after horrible album sales and concert ticket sales, his label said, no, we're good. Thank you. No more. Is that that 19? Let's see. Let's say here who it is. Hit the bricks, pal, and beat it because you are going out. Sky has a list of new movies coming out over the break. There's a lot. How about this? There are eight new movies coming out today. There's only one of them that looks real good to me. Which one's that?
Walk hard. Nah. Yes. That looks funny to me. Yeah. Cut 31. My dreams, you're blowing me. That's duet. Sounds like one dead duet. And you know who's doing those female vocals. That's Jenna Fisher. Yeah, that's funny. Oh, I am in. And John C. Reilly. That's funny. Oh, man. Cut 29. All these rock legends, we just put all of it into the movie. You know the famous stories about Brian Wilson in a sandbox for three years? We changed that to a trampoline. So we try to use everything. We're like equal opportunity borrowers from all the different roles. Well said. Well, thank you, John. What else is out? National Treasure, Book of Secrets. Yeah. Can't wait.
I can't wait to not go. What will they discover this time? Right, dude? Right, Mike? Yeah. You guys never seen the first one. He's out on the second one. Never seen it. Never seen one of them. Oh, it's so good. How many of these films are there? Well, this is the second one, Mike, so take a guess. That's right. I'm not going to be seeing it. You will see it. Let me play a clip from it, though. Okay. I'm going to play one that looks really good. I'm going to play a good one. Oh, here we go. Cut 25. Come on, Riley. That's an urban legend. Is it Abigail? Is it? It's just totally crazy. Yeah. Because last time I checked, we pretty much make our living on crazy. He's got a point. No. He's got a point. He's got a point. He's got a point. Well, I predict it'll make $900 billion over the break. It'll do good. Is that one of those Jerry Bruckheimer? Is that who does that? I don't know. Eddie, do you know who does it? What else? Charlie Wilson's War. Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts. That's so boring. That looks terrible. PSH is in it, bro. Who? Philip Seymour Hoffman. Oh. I might see it for that reason. But it does look kind of boring. Are you going to see that, Eddie? I think so. Really? I don't know.
I don't like going to the movies. Yeah, but the reviews are really good. What else? Okay, so we already did Walk Hard. P.S. I Love You. What the hell is that? Hilary Swank. No, no, no. Gerard Butler. Shut up. No? Thank you. Okay, I guess not. Also out today, Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street. That's the whole name? Yep. What? Oh, that's the Johnny Depp movie. Where he's singing. It's a musical? Yeah. Oh, come on. Dude, it's going to be great. Come on. Dude. Cut 37. There have been a lot of different Sweeney's over the years. Tim and I sat down early on and thought, what's this guy going to look like? We knew that it was a pretty special opportunity. Once in a lifetime kind of thing. Horror slash... All right, let's hear a clip from the movie. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Cut 40. You, sir, have a bout of shame. Visit your good friend, sweetie. You, sir, too, sir. Welcome to the grave. I will have vengeance. What the hell was that? Oh, holy. Oh, that was garbage. Oh, does that sound like a turd? Yep. Yep.
That was brutal. Is that him singing, too? Yeah, I know. Why would you have somebody who can't sing be in a musical? It sounded great. I will have... Because Tim Burton's in love with Johnny Depp. If Willy Wonka and the Pirates of the Caribbean had a baby, it's the Sweeney Todd. That's their ugly baby. With the corpse bride thrown in there. Also out today, The Great Debaters with Denzel Washington. Never heard of it. A debate team coach who inspires his all African-American team to be big. You know what that sounds like, honestly? It sounds like the same kind of movie that Walk Hard is. It sounds like it's a parody of those movies. Denzel, how many of those can you do, bro? The inspiring black coach inspiring the something. I bet you there's somebody racist in the movie. No, come on. Who doesn't believe they can do it? What?
The man. And they overcome the odds and I bet you they win the debate. Who's the man? No way. That's my guess. What else? The Bucket List. You can't make up movies. Don't make up stuff like that. It's Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman, their terminally ill cancer patients who devise their bucket list, which is things they want to do before they die. Is that it? In terms of movies? We have one more movie. That's like 90 movies coming out. Yeah. The Water Horse Legend of the Deep. Oh, yeah. That looks awesome. That looks awesome. What? It's official, ladies and gentlemen. It's the last idea in Hollywood. What have we done with a horse? Oh, you know what? We haven't done one in the water yet. This soddish boy finds an egg and takes it home and this water horse hatches and keeps his bathtub and it gets too big so he has to put it and it's like the Loch Ness Monster but it's like his BF and it's awesome. It's friendly. Animated? Computer animation. Those are the movies up to date. Well, then I won't be seeing any of them. I thought you wanted to see Walk Hard. I did that one.
I'll see that. And Sweeney Todd. No, I do not want to. You, sir. How about a shame? Podcasts of The Mikey Show at rock1053.com LOL Hey. Hi. You going to Doug and Mary's holiday party tonight? Britney Spears bought her pregnant sister, her pregnant 16-year-old sister, a t-shirt that says, Hot Mama 2, the number 2, and the letter B. Hot Mama 2B. And a basket of baby goodies. So it's pretty cool then. Right. Yeah, she's real stoked about it. What was the basket of baby goodies, like a can of Coke, stuff like that? What did she get in there? It says a little blanket, a stuffed elephant, some onesie, some socks and shoes. A little bump. Paris Hilton's phone number. No underwear. Yeah, exactly. Not one. Jessica Sierra, who was arrested with coat possession, right? Yeah, one of her arrests this year did involve that. She is pregnant. Oh.
In jail and pregnant. Talk about a meltdown. Yeah, arrested twice, sex tape released, and now pregnant. It's been a bad year. Yeah, 07, not good for her. A report says sheriffs violated policy when they were booking Mel Gibson. What did they do wrong? Well, remember when Mel Gibson was arrested for his DUI, there was all that hubbub about stuff being left out of the report when he was saying all those anti-Semitic remarks and how they weren't in the initial report. So basically, they did an investigation into the arrest of Paris Hilton and Mel Gibson because there were complaints about both, that they were given special treatment. In regards to Paris Hilton, they said everything was done by the book. She was not given any special treatment. Mel Gibson, they do admit that a supervisor initially tried to deliver. complete comments from his arrest report, but then the captain overrid that decision. He overrid it. Overrode it. Well said. I'd overrid it. He also wasn't asked to give... I didn't like it. I'll overrid it. I don't care either. I don't like it. Let me tell you something. I'm over this rid. That's right. He was asked to give a palm print. You can rid that in the report, too, if you want to. Rid it down. Rid it.
He wasn't asked to give a palm print. I'm going to ignore you. And he didn't sign a form that was standard. I have a new tactic. Yes, just keep going. The officers didn't notify the watch commander. Doesn't matter, you'll rid me up anyway if I don't. And they also gave Mel... I'm overriding your comments. That's right. And they also gave Mel a ride. Talk, talk, talk. That's what I do best. You're heading to Shauna, read it down. So all of these things are not normal. I'll finish. K-I-O-C San Diego, Riddick. Three people were given. My favorite director, Ridley Scott. Good riddance. To that bit. Mikey Show, hello. Mikey Show. Mikey, what's up? What's up, man? I just want to say, you guys are the best radio show in San Diego, and you can read it on the board. Thank you. Yeah, roll. You can read it on the board. Mikey Show. Hi there. You know, a person slips up in their words one time, and it's turned into this? I mean, give me a break. Hello?
Mikey Show. Hey, good morning. P1 Rubber Deck here. Merry Christmas, guys. Love the show. Thank you. And Sky, make sure to drink lots and lots of eggnog this Christmas, okay? Love you, honey. Boo? That's not the boo. Boo? Sky, was there a tornado or a twister or something in San Diego? What is this I'm hearing? Well, they're not saying it's possible. You know, it hasn't been confirmed yet, but I guess according to people in the Otay Mesa area, yeah, they claim that a tornado went through there and caused some damage, ripped some doors off their hinges, knocked over some fences, tiles off the roof. It was a 5.5 on the Ritter scale. Yeah, because you measure tornadoes on the Ritter scale. Stupid. Yeah. Who came up with that? So the National Weather Service is going to investigate to try and see if it actually was a tornado or not. But sounds like it the way the damage it caused. That's creepy. Yeah. It's crazy. It's creepy if we have tornadoes in San Diego. Yeah. That's crazy. The Mikey Show is going to be at Cricket. Cricket. We're going to be at the Cricket at 1490 South 43rd Street at 11 a.m. One hour from now. We'll be there from 11 to 1 signing CDs.
And we'd love to see you come out. It's the 43rd Street exit off the 805. What? And we got a new thing to write on the CD. Yeah, I was just thinking that. Yeah, because you needed more, right? You got a new thing to write on there? There it is. You can write it on the board. I'm going to write that down then. Mikey Show. Hey, what's up? What did you guys get for the white elephant? What did we get? Who got what? Oh. That is going to be a long... That's going to take a while. Listen back on Saturday. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We'll have it on the best of tomorrow. Make sure you listen. Mikey Show. Be Rizzle. It's Mikey. Mikey. Yep. I rewrote my song, and I'm ready to sing it for you, and I promise you won't have to bleep anything out. Oh, come on, bro. You're killing me, man. I promise. You're killing me. You guys ready for it? No. I'm going to give it to you. Go ahead. I'm dreaming. Be Rizzle.

P1 Dirtman. What's up, dude? Not much. Just I called back. Tell Mikey what I told you this morning. You're on the air, dude. If he was screened, I don't know if we should. I want to see. I'm curious. You're probably right, Eddie, but I want to see. It's Mikey, dude. You're on the air. Hey, Mikey. I just want to let you guys know that listening to your guys' shows, listening to Spirits today, the last couple weeks have been pretty rough. I could go Monday. My uncle went in for open-heart surgery, get a valve replaced. After he came out of recovery, he had a stroke. Then Monday, found out my dad has throat cancer. And then someone that's a real close friend of the family, almost like her grandmother, found out she may not make it through Christmas. So it's been fun real two weeks, but at least listening to your show helps out a lot. I appreciate that, man.
I appreciate you calling in, and you're actually kind of leading me into my next topic, so thank you. I have a couple things that I'm going to announce. But before we do, and by the way, do we have any appearances? Anybody doing any appearances while we're over the break that you guys want to get out there? No, no, no. Rob, Ashley, nobody? Okay, cool. We are going to be at 11 a.m. this morning. We're going to be at the Cricket at 1490 South 43rd Street. Please come by and see us. Signing our copies of our CD. And we would love to see you out there. What I usually do at this time is when we wrap the show up on Fridays, I give my testimony. And that is I tell you about how I used to be addicted to alcohol. And I used to just, things are very different for me than they are now. I was in a place where I didn't care about my family. I didn't care about my friends. All I cared about was drinking. I became addicted to alcohol. I gave my life over to the care of Jesus Christ. I made a decision one night that I wanted Christ to come into my life. And he did. And he saved my life. And I'm here on the radio. The only reason that I'm here on the radio today is because Jesus Christ came into my life and he saved me. Now, a lot of times when I do this message, some people get irritated that I bring up Jesus Christ. And I've told you before that sometimes it kind of freaks me out. I don't care anymore. I
I'm going to let people know. I'm always going to let people know what happened with me and how Christ changed my life because without him, you wouldn't even be able to hear the show, to hear me saying it. And so I just, I really don't care anymore, and I'm always going to tell people, and I hope that their lives are changed by that. So that's numero uno. The second thing that I wanted to do is read this thing because... I got this from P1 Quimby, and I thought it was really touching, and I wanted to read it for her. P1 Quimby is a Hall of Famer. She is one of our, oh, by the way, I forgot to mention this. The main reason, I know that that may sound a little insensitive when I say, I don't care anymore. I'm going to talk about, well, I kind of want to give you a little bit of a reason where I'm coming from with that. I was really doing a lot of time and thought and prayer about it. I do this on Fridays, and I do it because there's people that are suffering that are lonely, addicted, and messed up. have eating disorders, just lost a family member, and those people finding help in the way that I found help through Jesus Christ is more important to me than anything else. Not only that, many of you are going to have the 25th of December off in a few days. In fact, most of you are. And the reason that you have that day off is because of the birth of Jesus Christ. So the very thing that you may sometimes get irritated that I bring up is the reason that you're off next Tuesday.
This is an email that I got from P1 Quimby. It says, Hey Mikey, I just wanted to write you and tell you first off, thank you for your prayers during my family's huge loss. P1 Quimby lost her brother. And we love Quimby. She's a major league P1 Hall of Famer. She said, I want to write you and tell you first off, thank you for your prayers during my family's huge loss. My brother Ben was a good-hearted person that people just loved instantly. He accepted Christ into his heart in 2002 and his life was changed forever. He was the only person I have ever known who at 21 years old was absolutely okay with dying. His last years of his life were spent cruising around in his wheelchair in the community of Mira Mesa, sharing the gospel of Christ and sharing his testimony. He really considered himself a missionary of sorts around here because he was unable to travel. All he ever wanted to do was to help people change their lives and experience the happiness he found in Jesus Christ. One of our last conversations we had was about your testimony that you give every week. I will miss Ben for the rest of my life, but I know he is in a much better place now. I wanted to say thank you to not only you and the Mikey Show gang, but the entire P1 Army and all of the well-wishers for all the prayers and good thoughts. Ben touched so many people's lives here in San Diego.
I've been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love. Ben would have so been touched to see all of this. Her brother was a very, very young man when he died. And so that's why I wanted to read that. That was a message from Quimby and it was really touching. I thought it was really, really cool. I hope that everybody has a really, really, really good holiday. Love to see you come out and see us this morning at 11 a.m. We're going to be at 1490 South 43rd Street. That is the 43rd Street exit just off the 805, 11 to 1. Signing our CD, the Best of CD is called Furry Up. All the proceeds go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. And we would love to see you come out there. And I'm not going to be playing Tunnel today. The reason is because we're doing, you know, all of our favorite Christmas songs. Yeah. Now, let's do the countdown. We did, on Monday, we did Ashley, Rob, and Zet's favorite Christmas song. Uh-huh. It was Mariah Carey, All I Want for Christmas. So it was Rob's. Yeah, basically Rob's. Rob's favorite one. You're right.
Then, on Tuesday, it was Sean's turn, and Sean picked Last Christmas by Wham. Yeah, he did. Right? Sean! Then, on Wednesday, Sky picked Tracy Chapman and Oh Holy Night. That was great. And yesterday was Eddie's, and it was Have a Holly Jolly Christmas. And who does it, Eddie? Sam the Snowman. Sam the Snowman. Burl Ives. Burl Ives. and uh it was fantastic and uh so today i got to choose and i thought i'll keep it in the same vein it's not third day tunnel but it's third day uh oh come all ye faithful it's my favorite christmas song yes it's from their christmas album i love this christmas see you at 11 a.m the lovely and talented missy is up next have a great time and thank you to our in-studio guests who came and hung out and we'll see you later
