6-0-6. John McCain came out swinging last night in the third and final presidential debate. It's all over in the NLCS. The Dodgers were eliminated last night by the Phillies 5-1. Cole Hamels from right here in RB allows just one run in the victory and named the MVP of the series. Ryan Howard talks about the win. That was like a dreamlike thing that he had there. Really. Very interesting. Very interesting. What the hell was that? I don't know. Do it again, though. I want to know what it was. Come on. Oh, man, it's a great feeling right now. It's great. I don't know. I don't even know what to say right now. You know, we've been working hard all year. Dodgers played great. I don't know. It's a great feeling right now. He's very happy. Going to the World Series. Yeah. Boy, I was hoping it would be the Dodgers. Dodgers-Red Sox. And, you know.
Right now we know it's not the Dodgers. That's one for sure. And then the Red Sox will have to wait and see. Yep. Playing tonight. That's right. They're playing tonight. Fenway Park, right? Yep. Fenway Pack. Well, there's some bad things going on at Fenway Park, too. What's that? This could be a bad omen. I don't know. I mean, it's up to you, I guess, if you're superstitious or not. Fenway Park's famous Sitco sign. Don't do it. Catch. Caught fire. What? And suffered $5,000 in damage. Bostonians that are fans of the Red Sox don't like when stuff happens. Boston Rob is shaking his head. No, no, no. I just wish I could be ignorant to that whole thing because you don't know what goes on in my mind when I hear that. What does it tell you? Oh. It's not good. It's like a very superstitious person and a black cat running out in front of them. And to get out of the way, they run under a ladder. And you're like, oh, what's going on? Oh, no. The worst possible scenario. Unless that means we're going to catch on fire. Or go down in flames. That's another way to put it. Wow. Catch on fire. Well, we'll see.
They play tonight, and if the Red Sox don't win tonight, they're eliminated. And if they win tonight, then they go on for two more games in Tampa. Correct. It'll be one more. One more at a time. Yeah. Just one at a time, right? Yeah. One day at a time right now. Boston Rob is wearing what he was wearing yesterday. Wow. Emergency jersey on. Yeah. He breaks this out during times of... Desperation. It's his last line of defense in his superstitious mind. This jersey. It's the captain's jersey for the Red Sox. It's got a big C stitched on to the upper left-hand corner. It's gorgeous. Yeah, you can see it's pretty stained. And he's just hoping that that will bring his Red Sox some good luck. Ooh, that is filthy. Right? So we'll see. I wonder what... Eddie, take a look at that.
Stain right above the S in Boston. What do you suppose that is? I would... Is it blood? Is it coffee? Is it soda? Is it prune juice? Yeah, soda. Oh, gosh. It looks terrible. It'd be blood. Well, we'll see how that thing does. Let's get this party started. 570-1053 is our phone number. Our text number is 35253. Dice K going tonight for the Red Sox. Oh. Awesome. Who's starting for Tampa, Eddie? Scott Casimir. Switching it up on us. Is he any good? He's a very good pitcher, but Shields was scheduled to throw, and the Rays decided to go with Casimir instead. Who's considered the better of the two? I would think that Casimir's better. Yeah? Yeah. So you didn't like hearing that, Boston Rob? No.
You would have rather it been Shields. He shut us down the other night. Kazmir? Yeah. We'd pitch him on short rest and just do whatever they can to get the win. Whatever. We would do the same thing. Sure. I would hope. How's Dice K pitching? Awesome. Dude. Awesome. Yeah, because this guy, he walks on average five guys a game, and he does it within the first two innings. Yeah. So he'll get into, you know, a one-out. Bases loaded jam and pitch out of it. Really? He puts guys on base to pressure himself so he can do better. His mentality is so weird. Really? You watch him pitch and you're like, dude, you walked another one, but he won't give up any hits. Weird. Yeah, he's just been like that, dude. It's scary. I'm not comfortable with it. What time's game time? 5? 5.07. 5.07 Pacific. Yeah. TBS. I have... TBS. You might think this is weird. I guarantee you I will. It is weird. I already think it's weird. There's no mic. So, when did the series start? Friday, I believe. My buddy Thomas was over when... No, no, no. Yes, the tank engine? One of my buddies from the gym, he was there when the game started. And he was only there for maybe like an inning, inning and a half at the most.
And then he had to go and do whatever. He's going to dinner with his mother or something. And that was the game we won. So I invited him over for an inning and a half tonight. Oh, my gosh. You are so dumb. And he knows that after an inning and a half, thank you for your time spent and go home. That can't be fun. It's not about fun, Eddie. It's about winning. Oh, he's nuts. Yeah. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show. I am 38 years of age. My wife made some dynamite spaghetti last night, so I'm feeling good. I got some leftovers. I don't know if you guys ever seen this stuff. You know, in the same aisle where they sell spices and stuff, they now have this, Schilling makes this bread, garlic bread sprinkle. You ever seen that? It's pretty good. You just toast a piece of bread, you put some butter on it, and then you sprinkle this garlic bread sprinkle. You got instant garlic bread. And you could do it with anything. You could do it with a Wonder Bread if you wanted to. Oh, no. You've never made garlic bread out of regular bread, Scott? Oh, gosh, no. Oh, yeah, it's good. Oh, no, you don't do that. Oh, it's great. Not a white bread, no. Sure. No, you only use loaves, like French bread. This is a misconception.
In a pinch, you can absolutely do that. Oh, yeah. No. Isn't it all grody? Why would it be grody? It's toast. There's another way to do it. Oh, man. Yeah, Rob's like, what are you talking about? Like French bread? What is that? I can't afford to go to France. What am I, Beyonce? What kind of money you think I have over here? Tom Selleck? Tony Blair? Who am I, Tony Basil? Come on. Oh, wow. Okay. That one was, I don't know about that one. Oh. Eddie gave a thumbs down on that one. Yep. Good little guy. Eddie's our sports guy, our producer. He is 35 years old, and he resides in the city of La Mesa. Jewel of the Hills, thank you very much. That's right. Beautiful. The Jewel of the Hills.
Sky is our news girl. Hi. She is 30 years of age, not for long, less than a week. She'll be 31. Wowza. That's right. Big 3-1. And never been kissed. It's really weird. That is really odd. Wow. Yeah, I'm just waiting for that special day. That special day. Yeah, I'll write it in my diary. Pucker up and mwah. Shawnee O'Boy is our sound effects guy. He is already rocking an over shirt and over the undershirt. Chilly. Yeah. It was a little cold today. That's right. There he is. He does our sound effects. We see him on a little camera. And it is fantastic to see him on that camera as he gives us a salute with old guy face. As he gives the salute. That's right. He's sinking down in the camera now. Where is he going? He's sinking. Where is he going? He tickles Ashley like every day. She gets a kick out of him. It's the best. Ashley's our assistant producer. She's 25 and she has blonde hair. And she did not win in the cook-off this year. Maybe next year. You never know. There's always next year. That's right. And she has a little dog named Sammy. That's a dog?
People thought it was a pot-bellied pig. A Vietnamese pot-bellied pig. Are you sure? She does look a little bit like a moose. She's a puggle. Half pug, half beagle. Don't do that again. You learn your lesson. It didn't work. Bad mix. Very bad. Boston Rob has the word Boston tattooed across his throat. What? You mean his shirt? No. His skin. His neck. Huh? Yep. Right there to see. Was it like a little teeny kind of... That's right. You barely make it out, right? No. Just a little teeny tiny... That's incorrect, Sean. Fills up the whole neck. Whole throat area. That's the truth. That's really hard. It's written in old English, and he didn't tell any of us he was going to get it. He just showed up on it. That's a good move. Was he at gunpoint? Oh, no, no, no. You forced him into doing it. I didn't mention this. He did it of his own volition. It was his decision to do this. It was his decision. It was my volition. Yes. What?
He is a singer-songwriter, and he's actually written a new song that we will be dropping a little bit later from, it's about, the song is about Sarah Palin. Oh. Yes. Her and Obama. Oh, wait. No, that doesn't work like that. You got it wrong. Obama. That's right. That's why they have the write-ins. No, that's not why. That is not why. That's not how it works. That's actually not why. No. And then there is the artist formerly known as Sir Roosevelt Zethi and Oates III, Jr., Esquire, MD, DDS, President, and CEO. As seen on TV. That's what I'm saying. And he screens our phone calls. Phone lines lighten up. You can call 2570-1053. Our text number is 35253. So many things to talk about. Last night was the final debates. The final debates. McCain. McCain. There's the moderator right there. That's right. My boy Jake is a fan of who, Jake? Who do you like? McCain. All right, McCain. We got it. McCain. Got it. Obama. All right. Now you're confused. McCain. Okay. Is it McCain or Obama? I want to know which one. All right. Thank you. Well, Sky and I saw.
I don't know, a little bit. I didn't see a lot. But what I do know is that there was Sky and Eddie glued to their TV. I have a trivia question for you. What do we have to give away as a prize? Do we have anything that we can give away right now? Yes. Something, right? Yeah, something good. Here's the question. What was the name of the plumber that the candidates were referring to in the debates last night? It was an overriding theme of the debates. And then the pundits afterwards were talking and discussing about this plumber. So what's his name? They talked about him incessantly last night. 570-1053. Then I got to tell you about this Amber Alert. Man, I want everybody that has ears to hear this Amber Alert. Because, man, it was rough. Sky told me about it this morning. I said, man, we got to talk about it. And for those of you that pray, please pray, pray, pray.
If there's a reason for me to be on the radio, it's to ask you all to pray about this Amber Alert that I'm going to tell you about in a little bit. It is sad, and I hope it turns out good. 570-1053 is the number, and the trivia question is, what was the name of the plumber that the candidates were referring to in the debates last night? The game. No. It was incorrect. A plumber. P1 Edgar, are you there? Yeah. Okay, Edgar. What was his name? Joe Plummer. Joe Plummer. Joe the Plummer. Yep. Joe the Plummer. That's right. You win. He's so popular. What's he feel like at work today? Yeah, he's like a Marcus sweetheart. He really is. I mean, everybody knows about Joe the Plummer this morning. Yeah. And it's because they could not stop talking. About Joe the plumber last night. Hang on the line, will you, Edgar? Okay, yeah. All right, hang on. I have a clip of them talking about Joe the plumber. I would like to mention that a couple of days ago, Senator Obama was out in Ohio, and he had an encounter with a guy who was a plumber. His name is Joe Wurzelberger. Joe was trying to read. Joe versus the volcano. And what you want to do to Joe the plumber.
and millions more like him, is have their taxes increased and not be able to realize the American dream of owning their own business. That's what Joe believes. He's been watching some ads of Senator McCain's. Now, the conversation I had with Joe the plumber... You know what Senator Obama ended up in his conversation with Joe the plumber? We need to spread the wealth around. I want Joe the plumber to spread that wealth around. When these small business people like Joe the plumber are going to create jobs... It is true that... My friend and supporter Warren Buffett, for example, could afford to pay a little more in taxes in order to give additional tax cuts to Joe the plumber before. And of course I've been talking about the economy. Of course I've talked to people like Joe the plumber. Now, my old buddy Joe... Joe, the plumber's out there. Joe, I don't think that Joe right now wants to pay a fine. And I'm happy to talk to you, Joe, too, if you're out there. Here's your fine. Zero. In fact, what Joe, if you want to do the right thing with your employees. Hey, Joe, you're rich. They're talking directly to the camera, by the way. Hey, Bo. Hey, Joe. Hey, Joe. What is it, Bo, Joe? Whatever.
Congratulations, because what Joe wanted to do was buy the business that he's been working for 10, 12 hours a day, seven days a week. And you said that you wanted to spread the wealth. In other words, take Joe's money, and then you decide what to do with it. Now, Joe, you're rich. Congratulations. Senator Obama wants government to do the job. I want, Joe, you to do the job. I want to leave money in your pocket. All I want to do, if you've already got health care... is lower your costs. That includes you, Joe. Wow. How do you guys make of this? It was so annoying, dude. It was so annoying. I mean, you know, we get it. We understand what you're trying to do. Like, enough. And they just went round and round and round about it. I wish that the moderator would have just asked about, like, what do you guys think of that Leona Lewis song? You guys into that? What about Sam the Butcher? Yeah, what is his thing? Why is Joe so cool? Yeah, what about Captain Picard's wife, Ken? Yeah, why don't we ask Ken? She's working hard, not wanting this. She's trying to feed her family on some horn soup. That's an important issue. If you don't realize that, just get that episode 7 of Star Trek. It's not episode 7. Star Trek Revolutions.
It's right there for everybody to see. It's called the innie and the outie. Isn't that what it's called? The innie and the outie? Yes, it is. The innie outie. And Picard goes to an alternate universe inside someone's belly button. It's not an alternate universe. It's the inner outie. They grow eyebrows there. They farm them. Alternate lifestyle. He wears a skirt while he's in the inner outie. It does not work. A tie-dye skirt. A tie-dye. Yes. Which is cool. The inner outie. It's good. Check it out. It's in theaters now. You'll cry. That's right. If you give it a chance. Oh, yeah. Wouldn't everybody? So they have the original. I'm sorry. It made me feel better after all the Joe the Plumber stuff. I feel better now. It's the first time you laughed in days. That's right. I actually have part of the original meeting between Barack and Joe the plumber. Oh. Yes, sir. What's your name? Name's Joe Wurzelbacher. Good to see you, Joe. I'm getting ready to buy a company that makes $250,000, $270,000, $80,000 a year. All right. Your new tax plan is going to tax me more, isn't it? Well, here's what's going to happen. Well, yes, it is. Yes. Just say yes. Yes. Barack. I mean.
Yeah, it is. Well, here's the deal. I'm going to talk around it. Yep. Here's the deal. I think the McRib should come back. Ooh, I'll look for you. Here's the deal. If Brock could put the McRib... on the menu at McDonald's for good. I would vote for him. That's right. I'm not kidding. Well, yeah. I mean, he would be speaking to the issues of your life. Yes. And that's what you're thinking. You're like, hey. What's important to me this election year? Somebody please address this. Okay. They soak. The ribs in the sauce. I don't think they're really ribs. They're cut out to look like ribs. They're like mystery meat. It's rib meat. Okay, so they're hot dog shaped like ribs. No, no. They taste like ribs. They're delicious. I don't care. Okay. Hey, this text says, sure, Joe the plumber gets all the attention. What about Bob the Builder? What about him? Exactly. It's P1 Elroy.
What if you're not a small business, Mr. Obama? What if you're just a citizen and you're just trying to make a living and, you know, you've been trying, you know, and you finally, you nailed it. You got your stuff all worked out. You hit the big time. You know what we want to do here in America. That's what we want to do. Then you have extra to give. Oh. Then you're living healthy. What if you're already doing that? What if you're already giving? Well, then you're extra double nice. Oh. Well, then that isn't asked and answered. It's the American way. It is. Congrats. $250 down, the banks are going to stay the same. It is true that for, say, $250 up from $250 to $300 or so. Well, here's my question. I just want to answer your question. So for that additional amount, you'd go from 36% to 39%, which is what it was under Bill Clinton. And the reason we're doing that is because 95% of small businesses make less than $250. And so what I want to do is give them a tax cut. I want to give all these folks who are...
You have bus drivers, teachers, auto workers who make less. I want to give them a tax cut. And so what we're doing is we are saying that folks who make more than $250, that that marginal amount above $250, they're going to be taxed at a 39 instead of a 36 percent rate. Well, the reason why I ask you about the American dream, I mean, I've worked hard. I'm a plumber. You know, I work, you know, 10, 12 hours a day. Absolutely. And I'm, you know, buying this company, and I'm going to continue to work that way. Now, if I buy another truck and add something else to it and, you know, build the company, you know, I'm getting taxed more and more for fulfilling the American dream. But here's a way of thinking about it. How long have you been a plumber? How long have you been working? 15 years. Okay, so over the last 15 years, when you weren't making $250, you would have been getting a tax cut from me. So you'd actually have one. But I'm not, it's not 15, I don't have a DeLorean. Yes. Which means that you would have gotten to the point where you could build your small business quicker than under the current tax code. If I'm Doc Brown. But if I'm understanding you correctly. Here's what you do, Joe the Plumber. Yeah. But if I'm understanding you correctly, Mr. Obama, what you're saying is, is that, yeah, I would be helped right up until the point, until I reach the success that I'm trying to reach. Well, yes, and then you'll be punished. Yeah.
Justfully. Cracked over the head with a whip. I get it. I agree 100%. All right. Somebody should tell Brock that bus drivers aren't small business owners. Yeah. You own a bus company. What? What? Yeah. Yeah. How do you deal with that? How do you deal with that? And how do you do? Yeah. I can't. Now what do you have to say? I have no answer. Now what do you have to say? You win the debate. Oh, man. So all buses are individually owned, Eddie? Is that where we're going with this? What are you talking about? Thank you. Joe the plumber. Oh, Jesus. Let's see. Oh, boy. The calls are interesting. I agree with Sky. Yep. About what? Everything. Everything she said so far has been right on. She had a lot to say about the inner light. Oh, yeah. That was my main point of the morning, really. So in your face. We have a P1 that just text messaged us that is kind of confused.
He says, is Joe the Plumber related to former quarterback Jake Plummer? Oh. Brother? Probably. I don't know. Good question. It could be. And it is a strange name, no doubt about it. Joe the. I've never heard of that. It's like Jonah, but it's Joe the. Joe the Plumber. 570-1053 is the number. And our text is 35253 if you want to text message us. Solid show from top to bottom today. Obviously, more of that Joe the Plumber stuff. Well, just more of the debates. That was the last one. Great YouTube clip of the day. It's an oldie but a goodie. It's one of the things I think that put Jim Rome on the map. Sure. There he is. There's Jim now.
She? That was Jim Rome, bro. He ran in, racked somebody, and ran out. My mistake. Yeah, you're bad. For sure, you're bad. For sure. Years ago, it was about 1993, something like that, Jim Everett, quarterback for the L.A. Rams at the time, was on Jim Rome's show, and Jim referred to him one time as... Chris Everett or Chrissy Everett. And the reason that he did is because one time when Jim Everett, I believe, was playing in the 49ers, he heard footsteps, as they say, and he went down before anybody actually touched him. Because he was getting sacked so many times in this game against the 49ers. He was about to get sacked, and really nobody was around him. But they call it hearing footsteps, and he, like, sacked himself. Because he was getting sacked so much, he was like, ah! Oh, man. And Jim Rome started to refer to him as Chrissy Everett. Chris Everett, who's a tennis player. Female. Female. Female tennis player. So he started to call him. And so he was interviewing him one time, and he was referring to him as that. And Jim said, you know, Jim Everett, he wasn't having it. Call me that one more time. Call me that one more time. I'm coming over this table.
It made big news at the time because he did, man. He came over that table. They fought. It was crazy. It was crazy. Awesome. He attacked him. That's crazy. I want to get this information out about this Amber Alert, man. This is a gnarly story coming out of Vegas, and I want people to pay attention to it. An Amber Alert is in effect this morning across San Diego and five other Southern California counties. It was issued yesterday after police say six-year-old Cole Mason Puffenberger was kidnapped from his Las Vegas home. Cole is four feet tall. He weighs 48 pounds. He has blonde hair, blue eyes, and wears silver-rimmed glasses. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt with the word Sina on it. Cole was allegedly taken by three Latino males, two of whom posed as police officers to get into his home. Still no word on a description of the suspect's vehicle. Sky, what do we know about it? Well, this went down about 7 o'clock yesterday morning in Las Vegas when two guys went to the door of this home in Vegas and were pretending to be police officers, knocked on the door. They opened the door. They took the mother and her boyfriend and tied them up and then searched the home for money. And when they couldn't find any money, anything of value, they decided to take the boy and took off.
And so since the mother and the boyfriend were tied up, they didn't get to see the car that these three guys came in. So, you know, that's why you don't see any freeway Amber Alert signs this morning because they have no description of the vehicle to put up there. And that's what they need to put them up on those freeway signs. So the three men are described as Latinos who spoke English with an accent in their early 30s, about 5'7", 5'9", thin build. So, you know, if anybody sees little Cole, little six-year-old Cole, you know, please contact the police. Yeah. Oh, man, I hope that turns out okay. I'm really going to pray that that turns out okay because that is just terrible taking a little boy. He's only six years old, and so hopefully they're able to find him. Our text number is 35253. I'd like to talk about the last time I did smoke pot. I was smoking some herbs, some chronic, trees, whatever it is. I don't know. I was smoking something, and all of a sudden I couldn't think.
My heart was pounding. My left arm was numb. And I think I'm either dying or bowling. Now... He used to eat a lot of natural food until he learned most people die of natural causes. Mikey. Never given blood before. But lately I've been hearing a lot about how I can make a difference with just one donation. So I did it. I scheduled an appointment at the San Diego Blood Bank because somebody out there is depending on people like me. Hi, I... Amanda, I need blood transfusions to stay healthy. One donation might not sound like a lot to you, but to me, it's a difference in life. Make a difference in life at the San Diego Blood Bank. Schedule an appointment at sandiegobloodbank.org. This is good news. Boston Robert called AIS. How about that? So yesterday, right, I got a re-up.
And I figure I'll give him a call, see if I can switch a couple things on my insurance. And the lady who helped me, I believe her name was Gwen, was super duper nice and ended up saving me $60 a month, which translates to $720 a year. $720 a year. Yeah, dude. $720 a year saved. That might as well be a million bucks for me. That is so much money. Like 60 bucks a month for me is out of control. I'm just so happy with them and everything they've done for me. That's cool, dude. Sean. Because I get seasick pretty, pretty easily now. Boston Rob. I'm not a sheep, Mike. That's right, he's not a sheep. And Ashley. Evidently, I talk to get attention. Save that one. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. 644. It's been announced that Madonna has hired the same divorce attorney that was used by Paul McCartney. Former Chargers lineman Chris Mims was found dead at 38 at his home in L.A. No details yet on how he died. Dude, that is so sad. Crazy. I wonder what that's all about. I don't know. Earlier we were talking about the debates.
And what was going on with the debates last night? My son, as you know, is a McCain supporter, but I was asking him just some other questions that I thought were interesting. Check this out. Let's see. I'm trying to play it. How old are you? And what's your mommy's name? What's your daddy's name? Who's running for president? And who else? And who are you going to vote for? I can't. What's your last name? Esparza. Esparza. And what are your kiddies' names? Yours. Doesn't like Sydney? I felt that the last question was irrelevant. I did, too. I did, too. She had to throw that in there, and it's irrelevant. He's having a hard time with Esparza. It's actually Esparza. You should just change your last name to Esparza. It's almost cute enough that it should be Esparza.
But he's having the same issue with Esparza that Boston Rob has with breakfast. Oh. Huh? Brevkist. Yeah, Brevkist is what Rob says. That's what everyone says. He's working it out. He's trying to work that one out. Oh, that's good. 570-1053 is our phone number. P1 Seanaphobe is on the line. Morning, guys. What's going on? Hey, Eddie, you posted a blog a couple days ago that said you can't find a good taco shop in La Mesa. Yes, I did. Have you tried El Azteca? I already like the name. Where is it located? It is right next to the 7-Eleven, next to the new Best Buy across from Chili's down there. Oh, really? Yes. Best taco shop in San Diego. Wow. In San Diego. That is a bold statement. I will definitely try it because I cannot find one for the life of me.
It has been a terrible experience. How have you even been living, Eddie? I've been living kind of sick. That's crazy. I've been eating at places and literally have been sick. The last two times I've eaten at places. That's crazy. Well, let me tell you something. Like I said, dude, P1 Seanophobe, I already like the name of the place. It sounds delicious. It sounds like they have real Mexicans making real Mexican food. I appreciate that. If I had a taco shop, if I owned a taco shop, my slogan would be made with little brown hands. Oh, I like it. That's strong. What do you think? I would eat there all the time. Brilliant. Something about it just says. Saturday and Sunday. That's right. Right. It would say that in parentheses. Well, I said only on Saturdays and Sundays. It's a lot of work, man. Clean the tripe. That's right. Come on. I don't know. Come on. Sky, they can only do that kind of stuff. Takes a long time, man. You try cleaning tripe. I don't want to clean tripe. If you do try cleaning tripe, please videotape. Because I want to see you clean. Oh, that'll never happen. Suction cup size. I'd have to have like a hazmat suit on. Please. Please. It's gross. It smells so bad. P1 Brian is on the line. Hey, how you doing, Mikey? Big fan. What's up, dude?
I came out here from Boston almost four years ago. I just wanted to clear some things up with Boston Rob. Ah, look at you, guy. Go for it, Slick. Well, Casimir pitched game two. Yeah, I know. Can I pause you? Can I put you on? You are my TiVo right now, and I'm going to go, bloop, pause you. And, no, no, no, I realized when I was talking earlier, I got Casme and Shields confused. Listen to the thick Boston accent that comes out when he's talking to somebody on the line. Now he's talking to Slick. Yeah, all of a sudden now he's got a Boston accent, a real thick Boston accent. Hold on there, Slick. That's real convenient that you say, I put it on. Yeah, exactly, Brian. You got your Boston accent all the time, right? Yeah, nobody in my neighborhood would ever... You can't go on the radio saying words. like that. Hey man, shoot me an email if you're all upset, brother. What? Why? You know why. It's all good.
Do not shoot him an email. This is the way that Bostonians talk to one another. They're very angry. They're all hotheads. Shouldn't they unite? Right now, you need each other. That's what I figured, but this guy wants to call me up and call me out. Oh, I'm so upset because you got a tattoo on your head. Oh, my God. You messed up something because you're stressed out over the series. Brian, why don't you guys come together as brothers and support one another during this time? That's what I was saying. I know. It was a little jab. Hey, that's what I was trying to say. It just came out as an insult. I appreciate you calling up because I did get it confused. We were teeing off on Casimir. I still don't feel comfortable with him going, dude. No, I completely agree. I don't feel comfortable with anybody at this point. You're acting like a Yankee fan, bro. Come on. Hey, don't do that to him. Don't do that to him. Don't put that evil on him. We've had so many championships in the last seven years, it's hard for me to complain these days. Oh, jeez. Here we go. I mean, after all, we're so great over here. I like this guy. Oh, no. All right, Brian. Really? I am glad that you called, and I'm glad that we were able to make friends out of the two of you by the end of it. Well, thank you, Mikey. I'm editing up my toy in the Marines, so I'll be heading back that way, and I'll miss you, brother. Hey, Brian, where are you watching the game tonight?
I'm just watching it probably here. They're at your place. You doing any superstitious stuff? I'm an old hockey guy, so I'm pretty superstitious myself. Are you wearing anything particular for the game tonight, any of that business? Not really. I got my old standby hat there with the little American flag inlay and the B, you know. I've got that. consistently over the last eight years. There you go. There you go. Break out the Andy Moog jersey, pal. There you go. I love that, Andy Moog jersey. There you go, right? Seven people got that. We're best friends now at the end of this phone call. I like you. You have a good day, sir. You too, brother. It's all good. Yeah, Mike Greenwell. All right. Oh, okay. I don't know what that is. I don't know what these things mean. It's all Boston stars. Okay. P1 Babe is on the line. Hi, babe. Hi, babe. Hi, babe. What's going on? I actually have a question for Sean. Go ahead. Okay. I know. Wish me luck. I wanted to know if Sean watched Project One Way, and if so, what did he think about last night's season finale?
Well, it's pronounced Project Runway. Wow. I mean, not even for a second. She said it fast. We all knew what she meant. And I didn't get to watch it last night because I was watching the debate. So I T-voted. I haven't seen it yet. Okay. Who wins? But it's a great show. I love the show. Don't say. I was excited to find out. You don't even know the players. If Santori won or... Hey, man. It's Santino. Frederick or... No, it was no Frederick. This was the first Patrick Runway that it was all ladies showing at Bryant Park. And I was really disappointed because I wanted Koto to win. Koko won? Oh. Koko? No. Koto. Oh, sorry. Koto. Koto. Gotcha. All right. Well, don't tell us who won, baby. All right. We appreciate you. All right. Thanks. Thank you. P1 Wifey Yam is on the line. Wow. Sean has a very not happy look on his face. Wifey Yam, are you there? Yep, I'm here. Go ahead. In the Bay Area where I'm from in Scotts Valley, there's a Mexican taco shop there. And their slogan, like when they get their chance to put their name on the billboard, it says...
Their name, I don't remember their name, and then it says Real Mexicans. Real Mexican or Real Mexicans? Mexicans. Not Mexican food, Real Mexicans. With an S. Smart. I like it. Real Mexicans. Listen, I'd take it a step further. I'd put Real Mexicans work here. I would take it one step further. In parentheses, illegal. That's right. Are you kidding? That's the best. What is that on our billboard? Yeah, we should do that. Why don't you give us a call? 570-1053. And our text is 35253. P1 Philly's Finest. What's up, Mikey? You're welcome. T-H-I to the L-L-Y. Oh, look at Rob shaking his head already. Oh, wow. You're welcome, dude. Thank you so much. See, he wanted me to say something.
about the Dodgers and to give them bad luck. I'm a cooler. I can cool any team. Rob, you want me to cool? Yeah. I just don't even put that. All right, fine. There you go. I appreciate the help. Tampa Bay. That helped, right? Eddie, it helped last time. Well, it did, but I mean. He doesn't want to. You're some kind of sorcerer, dude. I don't want to. You guys get a lot of calls every morning that people will pick on Sky or Ashley or giving Eddie or Sean stuff. Every one of you are great. Thank you. The Mikey Show continues on The Rock. The producers of the new movie, Sex Drive, have an important message regarding the title.
Sex Drive is not just about sex, although it does come up. It's not about driving, although there is some nice work behind the wheel. And it's not about having sex while you're driving. That's a whole different movie. Critics agree. Sex Drive is one of the funniest movies of 2008. Sex Drive. Rated R. Under 17. Not a minute without parent or guardian. Opens everywhere tomorrow. The Mikey Morning Show continues. Featuring Mikey. If it involves danger, I try to avoid it. Eddie. That's it! I'm a simple man! Guy. Respect me. Sean. I invite everyone with just a little bit of enthusiasm. Boston Rob. I hate the Yankees. You know this. And Ashley. The conversation, too. Oh, my God. Save that clip. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. I don't know who sings it. One guy. What do you mean, one guy? It's called The New Radicals, and it's one guy. I don't understand what you mean, it's one guy. Well, the band is called New Radicals. Right, I've heard of that. And it's one guy. The whole band is one guy. It's a whole band, and he plays every instrument and sings. Are you kidding me? Dude. Yeah, he was on the Star set a long time ago. Oh, wow. When you were still working over at Star. Back in the day when I worked at Star 100. Did he come in and do this?
Well, I mean, it's kind of impossible, you know. Well, wait a minute. So he has to, like, lay down all the trips. How does he do a live show? I don't know. What a trip. He probably has a band. Probably hire studio musicians. You know, Dave Grohl did their first Foo Fighters album like that. Really? Yeah, the first Foo Fighters album was a demo. And it was him on everything. Wow. Yeah. That's cool, man. When people are that talented. When we went to that third day show, I don't remember the name of the band that opened it up. It was a family. It was all black dudes. And they had, I think, a couple of sisters, too. The Wayans. No, it was not the Wayans. Well, maybe it was the Wayans. I don't know. Marlon, Damon, Keenan Ivory. It was the Robert something band. And what they would do is like the song would end and they would switch. They'd rotate instruments. Dude. Wow. And they were so crazy good. Like they were so crazy good that at one point I was sitting there and I was like, am I really seeing and hearing what I think I'm seeing and hearing? It was that crazy good. Imagine if like the Rolling Stones were to do that for Van Halen or somebody. If they were to have to go to the instrument and start drumming.
It was a trip, though, man. It was a trip. Do you guys ever think of having Jake learn an instrument? Yeah. Because, you know, when I first got the guitar and I had the guitar in, he loves it. He's fascinated by it. So he came over. Eddie is now playing the air. What is he playing? The air bagpipes? Is that the air bagpipes? It is. It's the air bagpipes. Eddie's playing the air bagpipes. Sounds great. I can teach him. Or a guitar hero. Yeah. Whatever he wants. I can teach him. But he's got really good. dexterity with his fingers. He's really good. As a matter of fact, yesterday he had a splinter in his finger and I had a pair of tweezers and I was, you know, going at it and he took the tweezers away from me and he was trying to do it himself. Oh, wow. And he was able to squeeze the little things too, you know? So, uh, anyway, when I first started playing guitar, he walked up and he took the pick out of my hand and he was going and I was just surprised he was able to, you know, hold it right and play it. write to get the note to come out of it. So who knows? I would love him. He's not going to have any athletic ability. I'll tell you that right now. Wait. He is not. I can tell you. I already know. I love my boy. He's clumsy. He's really clumsy. It doesn't mean you don't have athletic ability. Really? No. You're clumsy and have athletic ability? Yes. Really? Absolutely. Maybe.
Maybe he will, but I usually thought that you had to sort of get dexterity. Dance is great to get your coordination, and then you can go on to play other shows from there. So dance, Mike, look into it. No, never. Couldn't pay us enough. I mean, listen, let me tell you. I would be open to a lot of stuff. Dance is not one of them. T-ball, soccer, those things you'll be good at. No dance. Sorry about that. Awful. Skye, and just so you know, Uncle Eddie and Uncle Mikey will not allow your children to dance either. You don't tell my children when they dance. Never. My children love to dance. No, they don't. We'll tell you right now, they do not love to dance. They do. They don't want to. And what's your mommy's name? My back. What's your daddy's name? My back. Mike. Mike. Who's running for president? Even he refuses to call you Mikey. He won't call me Mikey. And who are you going to vote for? What's your last name? Esparza. Esparza. And what are your kids' names? Joes. Joes. I love how he goes, hi, Mommy. Hi, Mommy. What's up, Mom? Hi, Mommy. But he sees when one of us walks in the room. He goes, hi, Daddy. Hi, Dad. Hi, Mommy. Hi, Mommy. Anyway. Yeah, he should follow it with anyway dot dot dot.
Anyway. Robeck. Robeck. Robeck. Let's see. Some emails and text messages we're getting. The subject is, will B-Rob burn the lucky Red Sox jersey if it fails? That is the question. Where is Rob? Where did he go? Where did he go? Does anybody know where Rob is? I don't know. Do you know odors where Rob was? Oh, is he in with Flounder? Oh, is he recording? He's recording. Shouldn't he be back? I told him how much time he had. Oh, yeah, I don't worry about that. Who cares? Whatever. It's so great because Eddie suggested to him, he goes, why don't you do a song on Palin? Well, he loves Sarah Palin. Yes, he does. He loves her. And so Eddie goes, you should do a song on her. And he's like, I don't know what, I don't know what. Eddie instantly goes, what about like Salem from Christopher Cross? And he's like, yeah, yeah, okay. But he doesn't know the song that great? Not at all. No, really? In fact, he's angry with the song. Yes. Once he heard it. Yeah. Yeah. But anyway, we'll explain later. This email says, how about a bet that if the Red Sox lose, then the jinxed Sox jersey should have to be burned?
Since all of its luck is gone. I'm glad he's not here to hear this. That's P1 Dr. Dirt. It would make sense. Wouldn't that just make sense? No. He just washed it at that point. Oh, so he's saying he hasn't washed it. Yeah, he hasn't washed it in like two years. It's really gross. Zeth. Just IM me and wants to know if my son Jake will take requests because if he does, he wants a spaghet. Oh, good. And a kiosk. Oh, yeah. Which he does. I mean, you say it. If you say, you know, say this, he says it. So I'll get a spaghet out of him. What about lemon or bobeis? That's fantastic. The mall. The mall. Okay. Let's see. Mikey, speaking of Star Trek, have you guys seen the new picture from J.J. Abrams? It's a new Trek movie. That's P1 Dark Helmet. All I've seen is like a 15-second teaser on it. Yeah. And all they show is the Enterprise. Eddie's giving me the, oh, look how special. Mikey, what about the plumbers? What about the plumbers? Mario and Luigi. Yeah, we forgot. I mean, we're spending so much time on Joe Plummer. Thank you. Yeah.
What about Mario and Luigi? What about them, Barack? Hey, Mikey, lockdown traffic. Two semis right in front of me, right here on the South 15 Valley Parkway exit. Traffic report brought to you by P1 Black Rider. There you go. Mikey, I enjoyed your version of Don't Bring Me Down so much better. Can you drop that one as a rejoin? That's P1 Elroy. I don't ever want to hear it. I love the music, but I don't like hearing myself sing. I listened the next morning on Saturday morning, and I was disgusted by me singing. But, man, I love the music. The music was good. I'm exactly the same way. I cannot. I cannot. I can hear myself talk. Oh, I can't even hear myself talk. Oh, really? Yeah. We barely can either. Hey, Eddie. Eddie. Eddie. Eddie's giving the... But you said it. That was uncalled. But you're the one who said it. I know. And the shame is eating me alive. You can see that it's eating him alive, Skye. It's eating him alive. I don't see that. Gosh. This is P1 Slap, your favorite P1. No hugs for you. This one says, message to all, the Bonitas are biting hard.
at the IB pier. If you're a fisherman, that's a big deal. Bonitas, those are pretty cool. I've eaten them. In fact, one time I was on a fishing boat a couple of years ago and we caught a Bonita and the guy on the boat, the like fishing captain, he took, he popped a bag of microwave popcorn on the microwave on the boat, dumped out the popcorn, cut up fresh Bonita fish, stuck it in that bag because it had butter juice in it and he stuck it and he squeezed a lime in it. And he stuck it back in the microwave, and it was some of the best fish I've ever had. Right out of the microwave in a gooey, buttery mixture. It was really good. So they're biting. If you like to fish, they're biting at IDP. They're biting hard. Rob, you missed this. So I want to present this to you and see what you think. Okay.
It says, what about a bet that if the Red Sox lose, then the Jinx Sox jersey should have to be burned because all luck is gone. That's P1 Dr. Dirt. Well, I think that it would be. What about a bet? What do I get from this? You get the World Series. If you win, you get the World Series. If you win. Rubbish. Get that out of here. Rubbish. If they lose, that thing don't work, right? I told him, then you wash it. Yeah, then Eddie said he'll wash it for me. I don't know that he said he'll wash it. Yeah, I remember it clearly. He just said it. He said you wash it. No, he said you should wash it. And I said, yeah, thanks. Is that the answer? Are you telling me that that's the answer? It needs to be washed? Why wouldn't you get rid of such a bad luck item? No, no, no. It's just you got to wash the old off and start again and the new. It's not nearly as fun as the other one. Let's get a Johnny Damon jersey. I'll burn that for you guys. Yeah, I'll burn Johnny Damon. Eddie was on Extra Sports Radio yesterday. Oh, yes. Awesome. Yeah, he was. Eddie, tell the story. My good friends, Mike Costa and Brian Wilson, have been filling in on middays. And I thought it would be really cool to change my voice.
And call in. No, you did not. And kind of prank them. No, you did not. How hysterical is that? How dare you not give your friends a heads up before you did that? It was a spur of the moment thing or else I would have. That is so hysterical. Beat up if you're listening, call in. That's crazy. What did you do? Well, I called in and I said, hey guys, first time, long time. I'm very nervous right now. I just wanted to say how big a fan I am of you guys. I just think you're so good. Did they immediately know it was a joke? No, I don't think so. I think they bought it for a long time. And I went on and on about how great they were. And then I said I'd listen to them on Sundays on the fantasy football show. Dude, that's the best. Which you're on, by the way. Eddie's on that show. How did it finally? Awesome. You know, I kept doing it. And then, like, Brian couldn't remember the name of a boxer. And I told him the name of the boxer. And I made some, like, they were asking a trivia question. I gave a goofy answer. That's great. Like, all this went on and on and on. And then, finally, I said, bye, star, when I hung up the phone. Oh, that's amazing. That is fantastic.
Oh, dude, that is the best. It was a really good time. Oh, I want to hear that so bad. I plan on doing it again. That is so awesome. Let's see. So, Sky, how did this happen that an intern... helped the San Diego Police Department solve a cold case murder from the early 70s? Dude, this is crazy. So this chick, this college student, is interning with the San Diego Police Department in their cold case unit. And she was looking into this case of this guy who was killed in the early 70s here in San Diego and decided that, you know, she should maybe run the prince again and just see if anything comes up. So she had the prince. They ran the prince again, and a hit came up. And this guy, who's now 60 years old, was arrested this week in Texas. Gabrielle Weimer is her name. Yeah. Let's see. I was like, hey, you guys should take another look at this. These are excellent prints. Let's just try it one more time. The suspect had actually committed a crime several years later in Texas. Sergeant Tony Johnson gave me a call and said, hey, they got a hit. We got a hit off that case. No way. It's like they make a TV show out of her.
Like a young intern, figures out how to solve cases. I like it. Cold case. That's a good name. That's a good name. 570-1053 is our phone number. Our text number is 35253. When we come back, we're going to do something called Tough Love with Eddie. This is people's opportunities to get it straight. Not have somebody... placate them. So Eddie will be giving out some tough love next. When we come back, also, Ringo Starr said that he's not going to sign any more autographs or sign stuff and pictures and all this stuff, so apparently he's clarifying. He's clarifying. Thank goodness. And we'll tell you what that's about after this. This is the Mikey Show. You've given everyone a great way to start my day, so we thank you. Thank you. Thank you very much. Rock 105.3.

I'm coming up on being married six years. Sean. I like black. Boston Rob. What? I like to take my time and do things right. You sure do. And Ashley. Sometimes things make sense in my head, but not to anybody else. On Rock 105.3. Let's get it.
Welcome back to the show. It is 7-19. Former First Lady Nancy Reagan is in the hospital after falling and breaking her pelvis. Tony Romo informed coaches that he wants to play with his injury. Wow. Really? Yeah. I guess he threw the ball yesterday, thinks he can do it, and told the coaches that's what he wants to do. I don't know if he's going to, but. Eddie, you know, honestly, and I'm not kidding about this. I mean this so genuinely. You know what that really sounds like to me? You know how, like, let's say you're a kid and you just broke your foot, right? Yeah. And then it's Christmas morning and your parents got you a brand new bicycle. And you're like, I want to ride my bike. And they're like, you got to wait till you're, you know, your foot's all healed up. And you're like, I just got a new toy. I want to play with it. Yeah. I mean, he just got Roy Williams. Now he's got so many things at his disposal. It sounds like he wants to play with his toys. You know, I mean, he can't hurt it worse. It's broken. Yeah. So, you know, if he can play through the pain and he's able to grip the ball and, you know, all that stuff, then why not? Yeah. Yeah. That's going to be exciting to see. We'll see. So, Ringo Starr, yesterday we said, excuse me. Oh, oh.
Ahem. Ahem. Ahem. Ahem. Ahem. Ahem. Ahem. Ahem. Ahem. Ahem. Ahem. Sky. Yes, Mike. Sky. Yes, Mike. Talk to me here now. Yes, Mike. But I love you. All right, whatever. Talk to me about Ringo Starr and his... Big statement that he made. Yeah, so he released this video of him making this statement that he is no longer, as of October 20th, which is Monday, he will no longer be accepting fan mail or giving autographs. He says, if I get fan mail after October 20th, I'm throwing it away. It's going straight in the trash. And then, you know, it became this huge news story, and everybody's like, oh, Ringo, oh, you're so busy. You can't even talk to your fans. Oh, great. So there started to kind of be this little backlash of him making this announcement. So he's now saying, hold on, everybody. Oh, really? You misunderstood what I was saying. And then goes on this spiel about how really he's concerned about the environment and doesn't care for wasting paper. So it's better not to.
Send this fan mail. Really? Because it's wasting paper and we all need to be mindful of our carbon footprint. And he says he urges fans to take his statement in a, quote, mellow way. What era are we in? Yes. Mean. In a mellow way. Yes. That's fantastic. All right. Fantastic. That was ridiculous. Ladies and gentlemen. For those of you that have never heard Tough Love with Eddie, this segment is designed for people to be able to write our boy Eddie, ask him questions, and get the straight scoop. Now, see, a lot of times when you're asking somebody for advice, they try to, you know, kind of make it a little fluffy. Well, they try and consider your feelings. No, they tell you what you want to hear instead of what you need to hear. Try not to hurt your soul. And so Eddie, Eddie.
In the same way that Dr. Phil says, sometimes it takes tough love. That's what he's talking about. He's talking about. That's right. He's talking about you. That's right. So Eddie answers questions of listeners. I'm a lot like Dolly Parton in 9 to 5. I'm a straight shooter. That's right. Great analogy. Offbeat analogy, but, you know, of all the things. Dolly Parton, 9 to 5. Our first letter reads. Oh, good. Dear Eddie. Tough love is the best. Sky. Did you write this? Says, I need some of it. My gal broke up with me the other day. She says, I get into too many fights. I've been in my share of scraps, but I usually win, so it's all good. You know what I'm saying? No question mark. Last weekend.
This fool rolled up on my and my crew. He says my and my crew, but I think it's me and my crew in PB and was looking for beatdowns. So we did. What am I supposed to do? Anyway, how should I get my girl back? I miss her real bad. That's P1 Nightmare. I'll say. Eddie? Dear Adam Pacman Jones. Hey, dude, I heard about your latest scrap. It was in the news, bro. I mean, actually, all your incidents are in the news. It's true, yeah. Pick up a newspaper now and then. Listen, I actually don't know what you're saying. I don't speak idiot. Chances are that you are some white kid who thinks he's all gangsta and looks for as much trouble as he can find. No offense be robbed. Yeah, I thought you were describing him. Well, yeah, I mean, I think we all did. So pull up your pants, turn your hat around the right way, and stop drinking from bottles and paper bags. You are white. And by the way, I love how tough you are, you know, winning all your fights and all, but yet you really miss your girl. That's so cute. I'm sure she misses bailing you out of the drunk tank every weekend too, sweetie.
Instead of looking for fights, why don't you look for a job? That's a good idea. Maybe some help for your obvious homoerotic behavior. Thank you. It's wonderful advice. You are good. Next one says, Dear Oracle, I'm writing you because you know more about sports than anyone on Earth. Wow. I've always been envious of other men who have a firm grasp of the sports world and as a result, they're able to commiserate with and share a base of historical sports knowledge with other gents. I find myself frequently left out and as a result, I feel quite inadequate and in a word, nerdy. Obviously, sports is not my forte, but I am hoping that you could impart a modicum of salient sports knowledge to get me started and perhaps direct me to a few sports repositories so I may study upon this very subject matter. Please help me, Oracle. That's P1 Simon from Point Loma. Take it easy, Sky. Okay, my bad. Eddie? Dear wide world of dorks.
Okay, first of all, a what? If you're saying what I think you're saying, I can't help you. You are too far goof. I mean, gone. Your cool levels are dangerously low, while your Google levels are through the roof. Normally, I'd recommend an IV of, well, me. I don't want to send your body into shock. So what you really need to do is let nature just take its course. Let the cool guys make fun of you. You need to keep wondering what a bra looks like. And wear the elastic band on your underwear near your shoulder blades. And by the way, you should get started on programming Office 2010. I'm going to type up another tough love letter. Another dork like you. Oh, by the way, you're hopeless. I was looking for help. Hope that helps a little. Sound advice. No, that's horrible. Eddie, that was really good. No, he called your name. You guys paid for this. I should. He didn't even help at all. Our final letter says, Eddie, I'm the guy that you met at the 28-hour show when you were walking. I tried to talk to you.
But y'all were busy singing. Anyway, my name is Glenn, and I'm the guy renting a room from my sister and her husband. I told you really quick that I... I know exactly who this is. Oh, no. Says I told you real quick that I can throw a football 50 yards and want to try out with the Chargers, and you thought I was kidding. My friends have always said I should play football, but I ain't never been serious until now because of the economy and work problems and so forth. I was wondering if you could put in a word for me, and if I make the team, I can pay the hand that feeds. If he makes the team, he can pay the hand that feeds. That's how it goes. I totally get it. That's the crow flies. P1 Glenn. Eddie? Hey, Sean. Boney Romo. That guy, you seem like a nice enough dude, so I'm going to let you off easy here by just telling you that you're a little on the crazy side. I actually do remember you. You were so drunk, you almost tripped on your banjo. Sean, can you give me some Doc Severinsen if you have... There it is. You are so drunk.
Well, he was so drunk. When he asked to use the can, I told him to use the whole case. He was so drunk. How drunk were they? He was so drunk that when the police asked him to step out of the car, he replied, I'm sorry, sir, I'm too drunk. You'll have to climb in. Anyway. Back to the advice. A couple things here, bro. First, sober up and put your shirt back on. When you talk to AJ Smith, you may also want to consider brushing your hair. Maybe taking off that Confederate flag belt buckle you got. Any one of those things on its own, I'm fine with. Of course, you know, shirtless, drunk, messy head, racist looking belt buckle. But if you meet AJ, you may want to sharpen up a little.
Speaking of sharpening up, you may also want to put on about 100 pounds before your NFL debut. When I saw you, it looked like you had just survived four weeks in the desert with nothing but a bottle of Jack and Hank Williams records. Maybe mix in an omelet or a few. Do all these things, and I can't guarantee you you'll be a charger, but... Actually, no, that's not true. I guarantee you will not be a charger. All right. Thank you. All right. But I'm trying to keep you from getting arrested. So first things first, right? Follow my lead and it will keep you out of prison. There you go. That's good. All I missed. There you go. Now that was all your best. You just crushed your dream. But, Sky, listen to the crow flying. Can you hear it? Beautiful. I think I can hear it coming up. Claremont Mesa Boulevard. It's the sound of healing. You're welcome, San Diego. The Mikey Show is on. It's about to get... It's AT&T and the funky outer space basis Bootsy Collins with... Device advice, baby. Talk to Bootsy. by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. The ride continues to be a crawl here on the South 15 out of Escondido, though it is improving. There was an earlier accident past the 78 that was blocking lanes. Mikey, does anyone on the show play Xbox Live? That's P1 game. I have an Xbox, and I don't really play it that much because I lose in the first five seconds and get frustrated and stop. But anybody else? Does anybody do Xbox Live on the show? I do. You do? Yeah. There you go. And I know that P1 Matt Damon does that a lot. Matt Damon. Matt Damon. Matt Damon. This text message says LOL, all exclamation point. Oh, that means laugh out loud. Laugh out loud. That's short for laugh out loud. It's in caps. It's implying that the person is cracking up. So that means like the L stands for laugh, the O is out, and the L is loud. Laugh out loud. Oh, okay, there it is. It says Eddie, LOL, best tough love ever. Chetty is the greatest. Chetty. Chetty.
It's P1 Kung Fu. Let's see. Mikey, what is going on with Zeth and Brittany? That's P1 Stop. Don't know. Zeth, have you talked to her? No. Oh, man, he just winced. No. You haven't talked to her? Uh-uh. Hey, dude, listen, I understand playing it kind of cool, but, you know, not at all is too cool. Please stop calling me. Please start calling me. Not even one call? I've been busy, Mike. That's too much. I don't think. What has you been doing, Rob? Oh, no. That's it. TiVo. Yeah. Catching up. That's right. You said Xbox Live. Yeah, Xbox Live, man. Our phone instantly began to ring, but who knows. Well, I hope that you do. I definitely hope that you do. She seemed like a nice gal. Yeah. Seth doesn't want to talk about it. I can tell. I can tell when Seth doesn't want to talk about it. Because he's not talking like he normally not talks. I know he's not talking. Yeah. And when he doesn't talk a certain way. A certain tone. There's a certain tone to his silence that I recognize. Yes, I'm on the phone. I recognized it right there. Has she gotten in touch with you at all? Has she sent any message to you? No. She hasn't texted you. No. She hasn't emailed you.
Uh-uh. She hasn't called you. Nope. It's a two-way street, Mike. Are you... I've abandoned my boy! No way. Seth? What's up, Mike? Are you telling me the truth? I am. No, I'm lying. Nope. Big fat liar right here. No, I mean, it's pretty easy to get a hold of me. I mean, everybody knows I screen the phones. I understand. So... Call me at work. Well, that's what most people do, man. You used to do it. You know how it is. I came for the request line. Seth, I thought that you were being extraordinarily smart, responsible, and mature when you said, hey, listen, I'm not going to rush into anything because I'm one of the types of guys we've identified that kind of falls quickly. I thought that was really smart. But not calling at all is the other direction. Playing coy, not playing dead. Yes, exactly. You want her to think that you're aloof and not in a coma. I thought coy meant dead. No. No, no, no. This text message says, Mikey, I have to hear. I have to hear. What do you have to hear? Panda. Panda. Panda. Understood. I've been renting out studio space at my house to some Asian foreign exchange students in the neighborhood. It's about you. It's 100% about you. It's in the lyrics.
Yeah. Ashley's even snapping her fingers for you to get you into it. Come on. Just follow the beat she's showing you. Right here. I like how they wear tight white shirts. Like the whole get up. I like everything they do. Mirrored highway patrol glasses. Saki lets you think that it's going to end, you know? Yeah. They make you think it's going to end. The band Saki. Yeah, the band Saki. So pretty. Gorgeous. And your face. That was really good. Not in my face. That was so good. Wow. That got me going. I'm fucked up, man. Well, how can you not be, man? I wish your face would go silent. I wish your face would. Ladies and gentlemen, I'll now read from Skye's yesterday email. Oh, that's my favorite. Yeah, let's move on. It says, the present.
That I had the boo order me for my birthday arrived. Mike. That sounds like fun. How many times would this... I was so excited. I was so excited. Look at Eddie. I'm confused, Eddie. I don't really understand. Yeah, what's Eddie's problem? Yeah, what's the deal? Did you have an objection? I would like to know. Yeah. Oh. Yeah. What would you like to know? Yes, Eddie. What kind of person? Tells. Uh-huh. Their spouse. Right. This is what you're getting me for my birthday. It arrived yesterday. Oh. Finally. Oh, I'm so excited. Finally. So excited. That is so wrong. I requested... You didn't request. You had him order it. It's right here in this. It says order. I strongly suggested... I understand laying some hints down, but if you tell him this is what you're getting me, that's not requesting me. Well, that's not what I said. I said this is what I want. Okay, gotcha. I didn't say this is what you're getting me. You told him to order it? I said this is what I want. Here's the link. How dare you.
You are something else, lady. You are something else, lady. Yes, it is a porch swing and it arrived and I am excited. Eddie is confused. He's pondering their friendship. I can see that happening in his face. Pondering his friendship with Skye. Threw up a little in his mouth. All of the above. You'll swing on it on Saturday and everything will change. You'll be like, I get it now. What? I get it. Sometimes when I look at Eddie and he's kind of looking at the ground and his eyes are kind of half squinted and he's just shaking his head no. It says a lot. There's a lot of emotion going on. A lot of emotion going on there. Like, well, first of all, it's tough for him to deal with the fact that Skye orders her present from her husband. That's hard for him to deal with. When he finds out that what she ordered was a swing. A porch swing. It's a porch swing, bro. A porch swing. But it's not going on the porch. What are you living in Savannah, Georgia? It's going under the pergola that the boo built. Are you going to have lemonade out there? Sweet tea. Oh, sounds good to me. Book or magazine. Oh, yeah. Push harder, boo. See? It's fun. Wee.
Look at all the dead gopher carcasses in your yard. Stop it. We had two dead gophers and nothing since. Everything's fine on the gopher front. Put you back into it. It is awesome. I've always wanted one. You've always wanted one. I am a fan of swinging and rocking. I've always wanted a pork swing and I've always wanted a rocking chair. Hey, Ashley. I hope you're pulling these clips. Yes. Yes. Yes. No, we are not. You pull that clip right now. Make her mic. Yeah. Oh, my gosh. Don't fart. Wow.
Did she just say that out loud? Wow. What? I've always wanted one. And, you know, money's kind of tight. And so I thought, oh, birthday. Great. Instead of him buying me, you know, clothes and perfume and blah, blah, blah. So I went to. So am I really? Discount Porch Swings dot com. Or ladies are us. Yes. Yes. I went to. The Granny Emporium, ladies and gentlemen. The Granny Emporium right now has a sale on porch swings. I did try the Teak Warehouse in San Diego, but they don't carry any, unfortunately. If you act right now, you get a free walking stick thrown in. We got a great deal from this little place in Peru. Peru? Well, we go to get our fountains in Mexico. It is awesome, and I'm excited. You are something else. Wow. You're getting me this, boo. It's not on it. Come on.
I sleep in a hammock. You are a nutball. And that one came from the mix. Ladies and gentlemen, first of all, Kyle Turley is going to be in the studio today. But I also want to let you know that when we come back, we're going to drop Boston Rob's new song. Oh, wow. Boston Rob's new song. Palin is next. Six days a week. You guys are awesome. Appreciate it, bro. Thank you. I'm a P1 because of my girlfriend, Lynn, who turned me on to the station. Now we got you guys on every morning and stuff like that. Home of the P1s and stuff like that. You can't smell it on my breath. It doesn't make me stumble around or pass out. It doesn't mess up my ability to drive. I don't wake up with a headache the next morning, but it gives me a tremendous buzz. I'm talking about gambling. I can't bet like most people. When I gambled and lost, I kept gambling. I loved the action and I thought I could win it all back.
Nobody could tell I had a problem. I wouldn't believe it. For a while it was easy to hide. In the end I lost more than money. I lost myself. I lied. I lost my job. I hurt everyone who cared about me. And Rob says, well, like to what? And he goes, why don't you do it to Salem, Christopher Cross, Palin. Jeez. And Rob started listening to the song. He was not that familiar with it. In fact, the song made him angry at times.
If truth be known, Song made you a little bit angry at times. A little bit. You were like, this Christopher Cross, he does, he like, he stopped singing at some points, I don't know what's going on with him. Yeah, I like to refer to him as Chris Cross. Yeah, Chris Cross. Yeah, he just trails off, and he's in and out, and he's sometimes there, and he really is trying to blend into the background music. Rob was like, what am I supposed to do with this guy? But you worked it out, dog. So here is B-Rob's song about Sarah Palin and his love for Sarah Palin. Fancy intro, guy. It's Rob on the harp. McCain's not my candidate. And Biden ain't for my. That's Harry Callis? He is the worst to listen to. Well, my pants. Let me tell you something. Most of you actually know who Harry Callis is. No idea. Guys do. I'll tell you why you know him. Why? You just don't recognize him there. He is the voice of NFL films. Really? It was a cold day at Lambeau Field. He's the guy that says that day when they walked in, they couldn't. It's a good bitch today. That's right. Oh, man. This text message says, Mikey, I was in love with B-Rob. Now I'm even more in love. Oh, wow. That song was awesome. That's P1 Sanjaya. Oh, creepy. Okay. Mikey, I drive a semi and I had to pull over on the side of the freeway because I'm laughing so hard. I'm crying. I can't see the road in front of me. That's P1 Holler. Oh, that's the best. Mikey, B-Rob, great song, bro. Yes. I hear there's a buzz of your song, making it to the American Music Awards. Keep the songs coming. All right. Well, is there anything maybe about the Detroit Music Awards? Oh, wow. Great reference. It's an oldie but a goodie. It's a great reference. I mean, he wasn't even there. I know, I didn't see that. He wasn't even there. What? It was years ago, San Jose. Can you make that reference? That was pretty good. Sky brought up the Detroit Music Awards one day. She loves music awards. What are you going to do? What are you going to do? Hey, listen. She loves music awards. I heard you were going to be like Tiffany and start playing at the mall. Yes! And boom goes the dynamite. Hey, when I retire, I just want my fiance to get me a porch swing, okay? Shut up, man. You got to demand it, Rob. Just shut up. Hi-ya! All right.
How about this? Now it's time for the YouTube clip of the day. This has got to be from 1993, something like that. I mean, this is back in the day, man. Jim Rom. Heard nationally. Hear him on the radio. See him on ESPN. He's phenomenal. Well, he used to have a little tiff going with Jim Everett. And Jim Everett wasn't having it one day. He was interviewing him, and he came over the... The table at Jim Rome. Jim, good to have you on the show. Good to be here, Jim. Thank you. Check that. Chris Everett, good to have you on the show. You know what? You know, you've been calling me that for about the last five years. About two years, actually, Chris. Well, hey, you know what? Let me say one thing. In that game, how many sacks did I have that we came back and won? How many sacks did you have? Yeah, how many game? How many sacks? Well, see, but this was back in 1989. You may have even been Jim Everett back there, but somewhere along the way, Jim, you ceased being Jim and you became Chris. Well, let me tell you a little secret.
You know, we're sitting here right now, and if you guys want to take a station break, you can. But if you call me, Chris Everett, to my face one more time. I already did it twice. You better call one more time. We better take a station break. Well, it's a five-minute segment. Our five-segment show. We've got a long way to go. We do. We've got a long way to go. We do. I'll get a couple segments out of here before. Well, it's good to be here with you, though. Well, it's good to see you, too. Because you've been talking like this behind my back for a long time. But now I said it right here. Right, exactly. Well, we've got no problem with that. I think that you probably won't say it again. I bet I do. Okay. Chris. Some cursing going on. Yeah. That's bleeped out of that. That was awesome. Wow. That is so awesome. So what actually happened? He came over that table. He turned the table over. He flipped it over. No. And grabbed him by, like, the lapels. Shaking him. Now, Jim Rome's not a big guy. No. Hey, let's get Kyle Turley in here. Let's see if Kyle's ever met Jim Rome. Let's get Kyle in here. That's a great moment. I know he's been on his show. I've heard him on the show. But I wonder if he's ever been in the studio with him. Come on in, Kyle. We'll have you come in. Kyle Turley just got here. Gosh darn, he's a big guy. Look at that dude. That's after losing weight. What the heck is that in there? Is that a monster? He looks great. Kyle looks great, right? Like handsome great. Brett, you may be in a run for your money. Kyle!
How are you doing? We're on the air. Come over here. This is how we roll, Kyle. We're very unprofessional. Kyle, look at you. You're all, you know. Thin shape. Holy moly. Dude, you look like a surfer, you know? Like you're a professional surfer now. Mexico's been good for you, dude. Yeah. How you doing? Yeah, that's all I do. I get up, I go paddle boarding about two miles every day. You're very sun-kissed. Yes. Ashley says you're sun-kissed. I'm actually white right now, man. Oh, I'll rub it in. I've been on the road for a while. The gal behind you is Ashley. That's a studio that you're in. She thinks that you're very sun-kissed. You look fantastic. Sun-kissed. So, Kyle, did you hear the clip? that we were just playing? I heard before I came in you were going to play the Jim Rome deal? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Classic. Yeah, it's classic. It's a good one. Now, I was saying, I've actually heard you on his radio show, but have you ever been there in the studio with him? Oh, yeah. Yeah, Romey's a good friend. Yeah, yeah. Real good friend. He's good, dude. Oh, yeah. He's one of the best. That was his breakout moment. That's so awesome. Put him on the mat. That was his helmet toss. That's right. There you go.
Dude, and, you know, when he says that, for those of you that don't know, Kyle Turley. If you don't know Kyle Turley, you've seen him before because that was a SportsCenter highlight that was played forever. Listen, Kyle was in a game. He was in the midst of the action, so to speak, and he was playing for the Saints, and somebody got one of your guys. Quarterback. This is your quarterback, right? And you weren't having it. No, I was a lineman. Jets. Were you playing the Jets? Yeah, playing the Jets. Yeah. My last coach, Herm Edwards. But they had a jerk on the team. It was a little excessive, and nobody seemed to care but me. And I cared too much. 25 Gs too much. Literally ripped his head off. And luckily it was Paul Tagliabue and not Goodell. I'd be suspended. Yeah, Kyle ripped his helmet off, and you threw the helmet, right? Yeah. Did you throw it? I threw it, man, and it was a weak throw. My friends still give me crap because it hooked on my finger and flipped off to the side. Oh, shoot. I wanted to throw it down the field, like 50-yard line, so he'd have to walk his punk ass down there and grab it. Now, when you were a chief, did you ever talk to Herm about the incident? Oh, yeah, they always played it up in the media and everything, but it was, you know.
He always respected me. Actually, when it happened, he was one of the first people to come to my defense and throw his own player under the bus. Really? Yeah, yeah. It was pretty crazy. So he actually was all right with it. Yeah, he was. Now, when you went from, I'm guessing you went your career. I'm trying to think if it went St. Louis to the Rams to Kansas. Well, I went to the Rams, got traded. St. Louis. Yeah, and hurt my back. Then when it was out for a year rehabbing and made my way back and got picked up by the Chiefs for the last two years. Now, when you went to the Chiefs, is it because I'm always fascinated to hear how it works in the NFL and how this goes down. So when you're going to go to the Chiefs, does Herm Edwards, the coach of the Chiefs, does he like want to meet with you and like a real job interview you before he? hires you? Not on the Chiefs. That's Carl Peterson. Carl Peterson's the guy, yeah. So Carl Peterson, the GM, he wants to talk to you, right? Oh, yeah. Okay, so what do they do? Do they fly in, take you out to dinner? Or do they fly in, take you right? Well, first they go take you to the drugstore.
And they get the biggest bottle of KY jelly they can find. And then when you go into the office, they figure out how many ways they can shove that thing right up there. Oh, boy. Now, let me figure this out because I want to know how this works in the NFL. Before you hear your name, yeah. Do you go there and you're actually at, like, the stadium? Or is it at their facilities? It's a stadium, yeah. Other teams have, you know, their off-site facilities. But with him, you had to go to the stadium and, like, go in an office. You sit there. Yeah. Are you nervous when you do something like that? Oh, not at that point. You know, I'm a veteran, whatever. Been there, done that. As a rookie, though, yeah. I mean, I got drafted by Mike Dicka. So, you know, you're on the phone talking before the draft, and you're just all jitters, man. I'm talking to Mike Dicka here. And then you get drafted, and then you're in the NFL, and you're really fired up. And in awe of everything. And then you learn it's just a big joke. Well, here's the thing, man. It's just big business, man. It all sucks. Listen, here's the thing. Kyle Turley, you have to understand, is he is considered a NFL tough guy. There's no doubt about it. I mean, hard as nails kind of guy in the NFL. So when you get drafted by a dude like Mike Ditka, who everybody considers hard as nails, do you two ever?
jaw with each other no because i was always uh you know especially coming out of college i was just you tell me what to do i'll do it you know tell me how high i'll jump it whatever and um he had a lot of respect for that that's why he drafted me so high i was a seventh pick overall so i mean nobody had me even that close right so obviously he knew that i was going to be a guy could come in and and just go ahead and do whatever he said so here's the thing i was a soldier here's the thing i remember about you man I talked to you before you were drafted. I had you come into the studio when we were still over at Kearney Mason. And you were just coming out of college. And the one thing that stood out to me about you when you came in is most people, when they come into a radio studio and they haven't done that kind of thing before, are nervous. You were pretty similar to how you are now. We just have that about you, man. It's just warmth, bro. I just must have made you come in and it just soaked me up. Exactly. Thank you. It was special. Kyle, how tall are you? How tall are you? 6'5".
Five, man. Who was the hardest guy for you to block in the NFL? Who gave you fits? Yeah, there was a lot of good players. I was able to come in the league right when a ton of great players, guys, Hall of Famers, Reggie White, Bruce Smith, Kevin Green, all these cats were still in the league, you know, right at the end of their careers. And then I was able to play against Michael Strahan and all the, you know, Julius Peppers and Freeney and all these guys as they're just coming up. I had some great experiences, played against a lot of great guys, but Michael Strahan by far is the best all-around defensive player I've ever played against. I'm going to come back to Michael Strahan and ask you about Michael Strahan, but I want to know, is it harder to be a rookie that doesn't know much going up against older, experienced guys, or is it harder to be an older, experienced guy going up against these young bucks? Oh, yeah, harder being an older guy because you don't want to get your lunch taken, you know, and these guys are just as capable as anybody to do it. You know, you got reputations to uphold. I remember last year playing against the Chargers down here and gave up a sack to, I can't remember what his name is, you know, one of the guys on their defensive ends. And, you know, it's just like if I was just five years ago, I would have just strangled that kid, you know. What is the difference? What's the difference? Is it a matter of movement? No, no, just mentally. I think more so than anything when you first come in, you're just.
so dedicated to the sport, and that's why they want to go younger. You know, it's hard for veterans to get jobs because... As a veteran, you get kind of burnt out at the end, you know, because it's such a business, you know. You realize you see all your guys, your buddies get screwed over in deals. You see players that should be on the team still go to other teams. And things just start breaking up. And it just kind of disheartens you as a player that believes in this whole team thing and that you're really trying to win when all you're really trying to do is sell tickets and get people in the stands. You know, everybody wants to compete and win. But very few teams out there really do all that they can to really keep the team together and have those successful years back-to-back. Otherwise, as you get older, you just kind of lose that drive, I don't know, because you see that business side so much more. I was talking to Tony Gonzalez the other day on the phone and this whole trade thing and whatever was going on where he wanted to get traded and they promised him one thing and then they backed out of the deal at the end.
And, you know, it just creates such a disgruntled situation as you get older. And as a young guy, you're just fired up. You just love to play football. You do it for nothing, a penny. You know what I mean? Because it's a dream since you were a kid. Now, let's go back. I want to talk about your playing days and going up against a guy like Michael Strahan when you're young and the whole deal. When you're trying to block a guy that is as talented and you're talented too. I mean, you've got two guys that are as good as each other at what they do. What is it? about a guy like Michael Strahan, that he was different than the other guys that you faced, that he was able to put the pressure on you? What was the difference? He's just an all-down guy. Most guys take a few plays off, and he was a guy who never did that. So that separated the guys in my book from the greats to the average. They might be great sometimes. They might have great statistics.
and make it to a Pro Bowl here or there. But the guys that are consistent year in and year out, every play they're out there giving everything they have, and it's a battle. You can have that mutual respect for a guy knowing that he's battling you. You're getting him, he's getting you, and it's a respect factor out there. As opposed to going against a guy who is just a fast guy, you're pretty much going to manhandle him the whole game, except for that one time when he beat you off the jump. You're in a way game or something, and you've got a loud crowd situation. And he gets that jump on you, and he gets a sack. And then he's jumping around and flipping switches or doing whatever these defensive guys do to do their sack dance. And that just really gets you more than anything. But you have more respect for guys that consistently go throughout the game. They'll make a play. They go right back to their huddle, rally their guys. And you can tell that it's more competition, not just all about, hey, look at me. I'm talented every now and then when I make a great play. It's a position that not very many people listening are ever going to be in playing in the NFL. It's a pretty amazing thing if you're able to make it to that level. And so you've experienced what it's like to be on the bottom of a pile. Many, many. Of a bunch of 300-pound dudes. And from what I've seen just from watching stuff like you were on Hard Knocks when they did the Kansas City Chiefs.
There's a lot of stuff going on in those piles, man. There's a lot of stuff going on in the bottom of those piles. Yeah, there are, man. And there used to be more. They made a lot of rules since I got in the league. Really? To call a lot of that stuff. I was probably the reason for some of that. So now you're doing a thing. where you are involved in music. Music has always been a passion, right? Yeah, totally. And so when we come back, I'm going to hear you've got a band that's going to be playing at where? Brick by Brick, Halloween. I think we need to change the name of our band. What's wrong with Black Angus? It's a great name for a Scottish death metal bagpipe band. But Carl's Jr. is selling $6 burgers made with black Angus beef. Well, fine, what do you want to call the band? How about hairy naked legs and bagpipes? Well, it's not as good as black Angus, but it does have a ring to it. One, two, three! $6 burgers made with 100% black Angus beef. We still have some tough spots out here, but this commute is winding down with some better looking speeds on some freeways. Right now, the five freeways starting to break up northbound out of the South Bay. Still going to find a minor delay through National City, but then you're good to go. 805 north, though, out of the South Bay is still pretty tough from the 54 up past right around Imperial Avenue. Let's you go for a good long stretch in the North Park, but it gets you again right around the 163. And that continues heavy all the way to Governor Drive in the Golden Triangle. Your West 8 is looking good in the Mission Valley out of the East County. Watch for some left over slowing through Hotel Circle, though, from an accident clearing to the 5 connector. South on the 15, that's pretty jammed up here from the 78 still down to Via Rancho Parkway. Heavy again through Carmel Mountain Ranch into Poway. Westbound on that 56, looking okay through Rancho Panosquitos, but it does get you right around Camino D'O Sur for slower rides at the 5.
And the coast are right on that 5 southbound. That's still struggling from Point Settily in Carlsbad all the way down towards Manchester. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rocco to Fire 3. Better mileage tips presented by Chevron. How fast are you going right now? Really? That fast? So what's your hurry? Did you know that if you slowed down just a little, you'd get better mileage? It's true. If you drove 55 miles per hour on the highway instead of 65 miles per hour... You could go about 30 to 60 more miles on a tank of gas. It's like the story of the tortoise and the hare. You know, slow and steady wins the race. And that also applies to city driving. When you're stopped at a traffic light and it turns green, avoid the jackrabbit start. Don't punch the gas. It's not a race. Just accelerate smoothly and gradually. And let's face it, you'll catch up to those other cars at the next light anyway. So remember, a heavy foot equals a light gas tank. And that's another great way to get the most out of your Chevron with Tecron. Learn more mileage tips by visiting chevronwithtecron.com.
Welcome back. It's the Mikey Show. It's 840. John McCain came out swinging last night in the third and final presidential debate. Rob, I hope this isn't a bad omen, but Fenway Park's famous Sitco sign caught fire and suffered $5,000 in damages. The Game 5 of the ALCS is tonight. Dude, Red Sox fans are the most superstitious fans, I think. In the world? In the world. Yeah. I'm sure it means nothing. Yeah, it means nothing. It's fine. They'll just replace the sign. Yeah, you just fix it. Yeah, it'll be fine. It'll be fine. Put some water on it. Just put some water on it. It's cool, bro. We got some irony up in here. That's what I'm saying. All right. Chill out with the clips. Kyle Turley's in the studio with us. And Kyle has always been interested in rock and is now in the music industry. What would your, if you gave me a business card?
What would your title be? Idiot? No, I don't know. You should have listened. You should have listened and not started a record label. Oh, wow. Yeah, Kyle Turley. No, you know what, man? It's a tough business. I started this company two years ago, Gridiron Records. And, you know, I play guitar and drums, always been involved in music. Everything I've had to do with charity events has been music. I've been involved in Voodoo Fest and all these other big things. Concert situation-wise, I have a ton of friends in the industry. And so I figured at the right time, I'd know when I could start a record label. And the music industry shifted to where you really could have that opportunity. But now it sucks so bad and the economy is so horrible and you've got to try to figure out all these different ways to sell music because you go on iTunes and there's five, six million songs there that you've got to compete with. So it's an opportunity because of the industry, but yet it's tough, man. It's a tough business. Now, when you got into it...
I don't know if you were kidding when you said it right now, but were there people that were telling you, dude, don't go there. It's going to be tough. Who did you talk to that said, no, this is a tough business? You were talking about Jim Roman. It was on Jim Rome's show. He was like, dude, don't do it. Yeah, he was like, dude, don't do it. Because another guy in the NFL had started a record label and was telling him it's like taking your money out in the front yard and lighting it on fire. Really? Yeah, and that kind of happened. We had a band that we were blowing up, spent a ton of money on, sent them on tours. We had them last year on Family Values. We were blowing them up big time. And all of a sudden, the lead singer quits out of nowhere. You know, I don't want to be a rock star. Really? I could have used that information about a year ago before I invested a million bucks in you. So, yeah. So now, you know, just trying to make it work and getting back to the roots of it. And these guys are why I'm still in it right here. Yeah, you got a band called Unset. They're going to be playing at Brick by Brick.
And my question is, so do you operate as sort of an A&R guy where you are the actual guy that goes, all right, I hear it, I dig it, I'm going to sign these guys? Yeah. Okay, so how did you find out about this band? I was living up in L.A., was living in Hollywood, and a good friend of mine, Mikey Doling, who was in this band in vitro, he's a guitarist. He's a guitarist from Snot, and they're making a resurgence right now. But he was recording them at the time. He said, you've got to listen to these guys. So I did, took a listen to them, and then, you know, I was going to rock shows all the time when I was living in Hollywood when I hurt my back and was rehabbing before I signed with the Chiefs. And so, you know, saw them, went to a show, heard them in studio, came over, went to the studio, met the guys, and was just getting the record label started at that time and knew that I wanted to maybe sign up to, like, three bands and really try to push them. And they were one of the ones that I decided that, you know what, this will be... The band that probably makes it out of most of them because my music likes are really wide. So the other bands that I have are pretty eclectic. And these guys got a chance. They're very radio friendly. So I wanted to get them on. When people were talking about you and your playing days, they would say, has a mean streak, very athletic. If you had to give a scouting report on the band unset.
How can you describe him to us? What was it that you liked that you went, this is what I like about these guys? Very talented, obviously, as you'll hear, you know, instrument wise, that's my passion. And then the dabble in singing as well. And Frank's got one of the most amazing voices for a guy that can go from, you know, one range to another and be. Very similar to my description. A guy who kicks ass, but, you know, has an art degree. You know what I mean? That just trips people out. So, yeah, I'm excited about these guys. And I really think that your listeners will like them. And I'm really fired up about this album. We spent some good money on it. And it's got some kick to it. Yeah, Kyle Turley is now in the music business. He's officially in the music business. This song's called Walls. I want to listen to it with you. Is this not it? No, that's not it. I want to play that ballad for sure. Okay, wait, wait. It's number six. So it's not on here. It's not on this one? Number six. Oh, it is on here. Yeah, it should be song number six. Okay. And this is a ballad these guys came up with, and this song is actually based off of actual events, right? Yeah, this song is, it's actually our first song that we ever wrote. Me and our guitar player, Ian, we got together before Unset was actually formed.
And we got together in the living room, and we said, hey, man, let's just write a song together at like 5 o'clock in the morning. So we ended up writing this song called Walls Came Falling, and essentially it's about our fathers passing away quite a while ago. Though the reasons for them passing away were different, the emotions were very similar, and our ages were actually very similar as well. So we ended up writing this song, and it ended up on the album. And this is a song, man, and one of the reasons why this song, Unreal Ballad. If you've got any loss in your life, this one brings me to tears. Wow. Come here. I want you to hold me. Come here, buddy. I'll take care of you. Good voice. That song was called Walls, and it's got a record company, and it's called Gridiron Records. And these guys are going to be doing a show, and Kyle wanted to come in and promote the show. Where's the show going to be? Brick by brick. Halloween, October 31st. What time is it open? And who else is playing? We got... Actually, it's going to be an awesome lineup. We got this band, Eisen, come in. They were recording with Logan Mater for a while back, and they're produced by them, and they have a pretty kick-blood record as well. We also got this band, Wickhead, from Johannesburg, South Africa, who are coming down. And they were probably one of the biggest bands in South Africa for a while. They won several awards. And they're here trying to make it in America and actually just drop what they're doing just to come out here.
to try to do it in the U.S. So I'm giving them as much support as possible. You've got to check them out. They're great. It's going to be a good time, man. I'm going to be there. All my friends are coming. We're going to have a lot of hot chicks there. Maybe a couple of friends of my friends that might have been in Playboy or something before. Just throwing that out there for the boys and then for the ladies. They're going to love these guys. So you can tell Kyle's kind of new in the music industry. He didn't try and sell us like all the music reps do. No, I wouldn't try to do that. Dude, like I was expecting you to do the music rep thing. As soon as that first note kicks in, you're like. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And he didn't do the music rep thing. He didn't do the music rep thing. Yeah, the music reps, what the music reps will do when they come in to try to convince our program director, Kyle, which the program directors hate, you didn't do it. What they do is they play the song, and while the song is going on, they're like... They're like, just rock it out. I'm not trying to do that, man. These guys are talented. I'm searching out bands that got talent, and there's a lot of it out there, but a lot of guys don't have it.
I don't know if you know this or not, but I've been working on my skills in Guitar Hero, so if you guys need any tips or what. Eddie's trying to celebrate. They play real guitars. Green, green, yellow, red, red. No, they play real guitars. You don't understand. Dude, see, there you go. I'm in. I don't want that. I don't have enough money. Hey, dude, it's always a pleasure to have you in here, man. Thanks for having me, man. Yeah, for sure. And we appreciate it, dude. I love talking NFL stuff with you. Now music, and you're an interesting cat, man. It's always fun. I'm hoping this will do something, man. I got a lot of faith in these guys. You play any more of those songs on that album, you're really going to get some fans out there for them. And the music industry has been another passion of mine. I started playing guitar when I was young, and now I've got to move on with my life. So I want to do stuff that I love, and music is definitely a passion. I'm going to get into it on my own side and maybe record a few things that I've been working on. There you go. There you go. Just give me a call, Kyle. I will, man. No problem, man. You need guitar. You know it. Kyle Turley. Thank you, brother. We appreciate it, Dave. We appreciate it. Don't go away. We got a lot of cool stuff coming up for you. I got to tell you about some stuff happening right here in San Diego, so we'll do that. Coming up in just a little bit. Also, wait till I tell you who is being recruited for a cameo on Entourage. Let me tell you something. BMW Encinitas is so different. The reason is because if you go there and you are going to leave your car and you need to get a loaner car, they're going to give you a BMW, which to a lot of people, it means something. You don't want to get some other brand of car. You want to be able to drive a BMW out that day. Now, here's what they have going on. And let me remind you, they're 25 minutes or less from anywhere in the county. I'm going to come up with a jingle for them right now.
I'm going to make it up off the top of my head. You ready? Ready. BMW Encinitas. How do you like that? Did that have a ring to it? That was good. Kind of had a ring, right? I've heard it on all their podcasts. You just heard it right now, right here? I just made it up is what you mean. No, no. Is exactly what you're saying. BMW Encinitas. Now we care. That was good. You like that? I heard it. I like it. Now, I'm going to give you their phone number, 888-215-7288. Here's their website, BMWEncinitas.com. 0.9% APR right now on all new 08 model BMWs with exclusion to the X6. So go down there, BMW Encinitas. I'll probably be there today. You seem like a nice enough dude, so I'm going to let you off easy here by just telling you that you're a little on the crazy side. I actually do remember you. You were so drunk, you almost tripped on your banjo. Sean, can you give me some Doc Severnson if you have? There it is. You were so drunk. Well, he was so drunk. When he asked to use the can, I... Told him to use the whole case. The Mikey Show continues on The Rock. Broad music. Back, it's 9.03. It's been announced that Madonna has hired the same divorce attorney that was used by Paul McCartney. Former Chargers lineman Chris Mims was found dead at the age of 38 at his house in L.A. This is kind of inappropriate. No details yet on how he died.
Well, I see what you're saying. You're giving a very serious story, and Boston Rob is singing about Sarah Palin. Is that what you're trying to say? It's a little weird. The two didn't go together. Not that time. It's kind of like peanut butter and ketchup, the two of them, actually. I'll tell you what. Rob sounds real sweet. Russia's not far from her home. That's a guy that should be signed. And if the wind is right and the sky is clear. Wow. Go up there and get it, Rob. Aggressive vocals, bro. Aggressive vocals. This guy's available. Rob has not been signed. Well, he has management, but we need a deal. Eddie is his manager and his shopping record companies. Well, I'm going to take a meeting with Kyle. You are, you are. Does Kyle know that? No. Okay. Alto right there to Blalto. Whatever that is. Text messages here. Let's see. It says Mikey.
The song Palin by B-Rob brought a tear to my eye. Oh, man. I'm just a P1 Giants fan. That's too bad. Kind of like when you pull a nose hair out. Exactly. That's right. Very similar. Practically the same thing. That's right. Big star. Big star. B-Rob, since you did such a good job on that parody song, I'm now going to have Sky tell you who is being recruited for Cameo on Entourage. Oh. Oh, okay. So Entourage on HBO. Please be Eddie. Please be Eddie. Close. If you don't know, it's executive produced by Mark Wahlberg. Marky Mark. Marky Mark, yeah. Marky Mark. So, you know, they have lots of celebrities do cameos on the show, and they are in the middle of trying to recruit for season six of Entourage, Tom Brady. How about that? What? What? Yes, please. Do you think he's real handsome, Ash? Mm-hmm. You do? So I guess girls think he's handsome. This is completely true. Here is a question for you, Ashley. Would you find him handsome if he just walked in here right now? Or is he handsome because he is a quarterback? No, I find him physically and physically attractive. Physically, mentally, and emotionally attractive. I think he's hot, actually. And you would regardless? Yeah, I think he's real good looking. Because I know some guys...
that are made better looking because, you know, they are a DJ on the radio. Clint, hello. That's what I was talking about. You want to hear some more of these text messages? This is my favorite. This is my favorite text message of the morning. Of the morning. Quite a statement. Mikey, I heard Old Gravy Beard is finally going as Boy Blunder on the afternoon show. What? Is my biggest dream finally come true? That's P1 Roach. Yes, Roach, it has. Are you serious? That's what I'm talking about, homie. You know it. So let me tell you. Let me explain. Let me explain. Wow. So I get a call at my home yesterday, and it's Gravy Beard, Foy Fisherman, Foy Blunder. Yes, the Foo. Get a call from the Foo. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
He, by the way, still has his San Jose cell phone. Of course he does. 408 came up on my caller ID. He probably still has his Texas plates. Of course. But anyway. Of course. And so I said, hello. Oh, yes. Hello. And he goes, hi, Mike. That's what he sounds like? Yeah. Okay. I said, who is this? And he goes, oh, it's Rick. He said, BC and Clint would like to talk to you. And I said, about what? About me. And I said, all right. So they called me back about five minutes later, and BC goes, hey, Mikey. Oh, boy. Rock 105.3. Rock 105.3. Let's call Mikey. So he says, so what were the results of the poll that you guys did asking whether or not you should go by producer Rick or boy Blunder? Yeah. Yeah. And I said, four twomp. That doesn't make sense. I said that was the number that came up when we did the four twomp. I said, well, it was 98% boy blunder. And 2% said, no, they want him to be producer Rick. Because him and his mom voted, obviously. And so right there, live on the radio yesterday, producer Rick agreed to forever be known. No way. As a boy.
Blunder. Yeah, man. It's something that I've dreamed about. Is it Christmas morning or what? I know it. Every wishing while we throw a penny in. Yes. Say, please. Marry me, please, Gravy Beard. That's right. Love the Gravy Beard. He's the best. Yeah, this is actually the first time I've laughed. Like, I don't know, in the past couple days. We should petition now to have him be producer Rick. You know, just really go on this. Make it be producer Rick. Mal is in the studio. Oh, what is going on here? Mal is a good friend of the Mikey shows. And he actually works within our building and is a comedian. Wait, what? Let's win. That is the truth. Right, Mal? Yes, correct. You know what? I'm going to be honest. First time I ever met you, I knew you were funny. I'm being serious. I'm being serious. Because I haven't picked up on it. I always thought he was this quiet little kid who works hard. He had little zingers. Really? Well, when I very first talked to him, you know, in just regular conversation, he would have some very clever comments.
And I thought, this kid's pretty smart. You know, I didn't know you were a comedian, but I knew you were smart. And smart people that have any kind of sense of humor, they can make stuff work. Yeah. If we would have lined up everyone who works in this building and had me pick who is doing stand-up. I'm sorry, Mel. I'd be the last guy. He'd be the last guy. Bob Bollinger's in this building. You don't think Bob Bollinger? Sarah at the front desk. Come on. Hey, there's some funny people. I would give just about anything to see our general manager, Bob Bollinger, do five minutes on stage. I love it. Be great. It's the chicken crust. Why did the chicken crust? Yes. So, Mel, what's going on? What are you doing? What have you got? going on? I'm trying to get comedy to come to San Diego. We're America's finest city. We have no comedy club downtown. It makes no sense to me. So what I'm trying to do is create my own comedy club, kind of. Really? It's my own comedy show. It's called A Night of Comedy at the Bitter End. It's tonight's opening night. It's five bucks to get in. And it's not an open mic. I'm booking comics that you've seen on Comedy Central on HBO. Awesome!
I perform in L.A. all the time, so I'm making contacts. Like, hey, come to San Diego. He performs in L.A. all the time. Oh, yeah. This is huge for Mal. Like, Mal is big, huge into this. Like, legitimately into it. Mal, how old are you? 24. That's perfect age, man. You're a young man. You're a young man. How long have you been into this? It'll be two years, December 18th. What are you wasting your time working at this joint for? Run as far away as possible. You know what I mean? If you know anything about comedy, you know you do not make money for like the first 30 years. If you know anything about radio. Same thing, actually. Same thing. It's actually very similar. Hey, guys. I love money. Sky, that's so inappropriate to tell us in the middle of Mal's interview that you love your money so much. This is Mal's time. Fine. Here's my wallet. Okay. Book a spot for her. Man. Stop it. Show me the money. Okay, fine. Okay. She only plays malls. Yeah. You get it? Can we focus? Sorry. Independently produced by our very own Mel, and obviously you will be performing, right? I'm going to perform and host it. All right. When is this? It's tonight at 8 o'clock at the Bitter End, and it's five bucks. Who? We're in an economic crisis. Five bucks should not break the bank.
All right, so who will be there? It's going to be myself, Robert Larriver. He's a regular at the La Jolla Comedy Store, a good friend of mine. Mark Christopher Lawrence, you've seen him on Chuck. He was in The Pursuit of Happiness. He's also a local comic. Brother of Sean Lawrence. Is that right? Of Lawrence's production. Of Lawrence's production. That's fantastic. And headliner Ian Edwards, you've seen him on Comedy Central's Live at Gotham. He was a cast member on Punk, so he's one of the dudes that was, you know. making Nick Carter cry, something like that. You know what I mean? He's one of those guys. He's also one of the head writers on the cartoon The Boondocks. I'm not sure if you guys have seen that. Just because we're white doesn't mean we don't know. I mean, I don't really appreciate that. I just got an instant message from P1 Quimby. And I'm going to just read directly from what it says. Dude, Mal Hall is the man. I've seen him perform at the House of Blues. Love that you guys are promoting him. Promoting him? He works here. He wants our board. He wants the board sometimes. I mean, this guy is like a legit comedian.
Amazing. I want to know what it sounds like. I know it. Come out tonight. Are you a dirty comedian? Are you clean? Yeah, do you work clean? Do you work blue or do you work clean? Does it have to be a black comedian? He's the cleanest comic I could think of, guys. I'm sure. I'm racist. Go ahead, Mal. I'm so sorry. I was the worst. Are you like Gary Shandling? No, no. I see what you're doing now. Because he is black. Oh, Sky, that's so inappropriate. Thanks for the time, guys. I'm going to go ahead and go. Mal, so yeah, tell me. What is your comedy like? I mean, it's cool. I mean, if it's 30, you know, it may not be my thing, but there are people that love that. No, the way I do it is, mine is like cuss words optional. So I can do, like I recently performed. in front of it, like I did an all-ages show, and there were like 300 people there, and there's little kids, and my act, I've made it work. That's cool. Because I do observational humor, so obviously you can add. Oh, so Ashley does a lot of that. Ashley does observational humor. I mean, I don't know if you know this, but Ashley's actually really, really good, and does a pretty spot on Seinfeld. I'll tell you what. Seinfeld's brother with pals. Don't. Don't.
Yeah, Mel, you're not allowed to steal her material, right? That is trademarked material. You can keep that. All right. So here's the deal. Tonight, ladies and gentlemen, our very own Mel Hall is doing an independently produced night of comedy at the bitter end. And it is not expensive. Go on, support Mel. He's a good dude. Five bucks. Twenty-one and up. Twenty-one and up. Five bucks. And Quimby just sent a IM that says, oh, and he is beautiful, too. Whoa. All right. So, anyway. Bear goggles. There you go. Thank you, Matt. We appreciate it, man. Thank you, guys. Thank you very much. Don't go away. We've got a lot of cool stuff coming up for you. Text us, 35253. Or call us, 5701053. Don't forget, MikeyShow.com.

Mikey. Consider myself kind of an old man's mentality. Eddie. You are. Just because I read medical journals doesn't make me. Nah, I love it. A doctor. Sky. I am not a wino bad lady. Sean. I'm a giant fat guy. That's ridiculous. Boston Rob. Boston Rob here with you. And B1's Listen Up, man. And Ashley. I'm a really good maker. Yes. The Mikey Show's on. All right, we're all hilarious. Rock 105.3. Go put this up. Zath or Rob? Had to be Rob. Was it Rob or Seth? That was all me. Oh, it was Seth this time. Welcome back. It's 927. Actor David Duchovny announced yesterday that he's officially separated from his wife, Taya Leone. More good news for Rob. Andy Pettit says he will return and pitch in 09, probably for the Yankees. We had a pretty funny off-air experience right now with Eddie scolding Sky for... Oh, come on. Get over yourself. ...ordering her own birthday present. This is funny.
It's just tough to deal with. Well, what's funny is that besides her husband, I think you probably know her better than anybody. I actually know her better than her husband. I'm not kidding. I'm not kidding. And so the funny thing to me about it is you're trying to be reasonable with her through this conversation. Yes. Like you're trying to like reason with her and I'm going, you know this is not going to end in her saying. I want to love this woman. I know. I really do. I know. And when I, you know, like 99% of the time, cool with this girl, man. Yeah. We're like. Wait a minute. Man, we're simpaticos. Wait, you're trying to tell me. We're like symphony. You're trying to tell me. Yeah. That 99% of the time. 19% of the time. Yes. We're money. Total money. 19% of the time. There's times like this when I hear that she orders her own. birthday present, and sends the hub a link, and I just, oh, it enrages me, and I try to... Eddie, it works for us, bro. And she says stuff like that. Well, what's wrong with it? Because it works for her. No, it works for me and the boo. You know, I mean, she gets what she wants, you know, and Eddie takes away everything that is special about present giving. Eddie wants Sky to be...
to be different so bad, and it's not going to happen. It's not going to happen. It's not. I don't try and change you, pal. Yes, you do. Every day, Skye, you actually do. That is a good point. Yes, Eddie, you are right. I asked Mal to come back. I'm not kidding you. We get into commercials. I'm getting emails and IMs. And they're all like, Mal works there? People like Mal. Yeah, dude. I didn't know that he was a pretty known comedian here in San Diego. Mal Hall. Mal, I want to know about... Well, I was like, let's just talk then. Because I want to know more about Mal now. First of all, are you married? Do you have a girlfriend? No, I'm single. Are you? 24, single, vegetarian. Really? Are you doing any of this MySpace or finding any girls on the online thing? Have you done any of that? I will not do. Like, I'm single and all my friends keep telling me you got to do the online dating. Like, everyone's doing it. Do it. It's like, no. That's where I draw the line. Because I figure once you log in, that's rock bottom. You know? Match.com. What in the hell am I doing with my life?
There's levels to the online dating, though. If you're looking for love on Craigslist, you're in hell. So there is levels. Don't try to hook up with a girl under free on Craigslist. You get a free trip to Planned Parenthood for the burning. That is true. Okay, now this is what I'm finding out. Information is pouring in on Mal. Eddie, you were half right. He's not completely black. He's half black. And he's half Asian. Is that correct? Correct. Is that Cablan Asian? Not quite. That's what Tiger Woods. It's Cablan Asian. I call it close enough for me. I'll tell you what I call it. Perfect. Gorgeous. Is it Gorgian Asian? We're co-workers. Creepy. But is that the case? You are black and Asian. So people are always calling me Tiger Woods. You're like, the Tiger Woods of comedy. And it's true because, like, the black side doesn't fully accept me. The Asian side doesn't fully accept me until I do something good. And it's like, yo, dog, that's your black side right there. That's your black side right there. It's black. I'm black and I'm proud. Oh, that's funny. Well.
I don't get it, man. I mean, we got all these girls writing you. I told you what Quimby said. Quimby. Quimby says she's beautiful, she's a big fan, and you don't have a girlfriend, you don't have a wife, you're not married. What's the deal? I don't know. The comedy, I have no time to do anything. I work here in the morning, then I'm out at the club at night. I have no time to have a girlfriend. So it's like, if anyone wants to hook up. Zeth. No. There you go. That's what Zeth did to him in high school. Oh, we heard that in high school, Zeth broke Mal's arm. Yeah, he did. What? He said he did it. All right, it was me, dude. What? Well, there's a big discussion. That was you? Hate crime. Yeah. Hate crime. Hate crime. Against which side of him? I don't get it. I know. You were trying to cover both ends. Yeah, right? I was jumping, so I think that was... What happened, Mal? I, uh... I went to Mountain Empire High School, just a small school in the East County, and we played Zeth's high school, Midway Baptist, right? Yeah. In what sport? Basketball. Yeah? Okay. Zeth was bigger. He's lost a lot of weight, and he lost a lot of hair. He used to have, like, this really crazy white guy fro. Nice. No way. Oh, wow. Roll that back, bro. Yeah, dude. Rob's got it on my back. And I think it was senior season.
The game right before we were going to CAF, and we're playing their school. No. And I think I stole the ball from Zeth, maybe, or one of his teammates. I stole the ball. I'm going in for a wide-open layup, and all of it, like, it's all good. And then I just feel like someone pushed me from behind, and I fell onto my right wrist and broke my wrist in, like, the third quarter. Oh. Zeth! Now, you really didn't know who it was? No, I just knew it was one of the big white guys on the team. Mama said, knock you out. And you're finding out right now live on the radio for the first time that it was Zeth? Is that true? Yeah, because I've had a conversation with him and he was like, yeah, man. It wasn't me. It was someone else on the team. I was like, bring in your yearbook. I want to see who it was. It's a big game, dude. Let's take it outside. Come on. That's the reason he cut the hair. He didn't want people to be able to recognize the guy. He was in the witness protection program. Dirty player. Zeth, the arm breaker. Hey, we went to the playoffs that year. I guess so, because you had to break the wrists of your opponent. He was really good. What do you want from me? To play clean? Yeah. That's too much to ask. Way too much to ask. I guess so.
I hate you, Seth. It's like the white Dennis Rodman. Listen, I win. Talk to me about the stuff that you'll talk. If I were doing a stand-up act, my deal would not be necessarily, you know, bald guy jokes, which I think most people would expect from me because I'm a bald guy. Right. Because I shaved my head. Right. But I wouldn't go there. I would want to talk about people just in general. Is that your thing? Do you talk about people in general? I just talk about whatever I see. You see a lot of weird, annoying people everywhere. There's three people that are really pissing me off lately. You guys know them too. The guy that does the fist bump and insists that you explode. Come on, bro. You got to blow it up. Why am I going to waste a fist bump? Why do you... Explode it, bro. Why? This guy sat in front of me for seven minutes telling me to explode it. Explode it. No! Leave me alone. You don't get it.
You don't want to explode it. You just want a normal fist bump. And his girlfriend's annoying too because she's the girl that says, I heart that. Oh, my God. I heart you so much. I heart you. I heart that. I heart that movie. I know that girl. I know that girl. I heart that. I like Andourage. Oh, I heart that show so much. I heart it. Really? Because I... Bambi's mom you. I dark cloud with a lightning bolt or something. Asterix at sign. That's fantastic. Exclamation. So Mal, you're doing a show tonight. And listen, Mal is like going to be one of the guys opening the show. He's like the presenter, man. That's awesome.
He's so Chris Rock, man. Eddie, you're just saying that because it's a black comedian. Oh, no, I'm saying that because he's funny. Why do you guys jump to those conclusions? All comes back to color. Oh, dude, come on. What's up, Cedric? That's right. They're fist bumping and then Eddie blew it up and Mal didn't want to. Mal didn't want to. He doesn't get it. Mal, what time and where? What do we got? 8 o'clock at the Bitter End, $5. The Bitter End is on 5th and F downtown. Park at Horton Plaza, three hours for free. Nice. The show's an hour and a half. It's a regular comedy show, so come on out. Have a good night at the show. That's cool. Hit me up on MySpace, MalHall.com. Oh. MySpace. Slash. MyHall. My. Dot. Slash. Slash it. Slash it. Buffer it. It's buffering. Jpeg.org. If you go to MalHall.com, it'll redirect directly to my MySpace. Do you have your own website? I bought the domain just in case. Just in case something good happens. Just in case he's super famous. Just in case he blows up. Are you taking notes, Rob? Yeah. Are you kidding? He has RobbieShades.com. Are you kidding? Come on. All right, Mal.
Thank you very much. Thank you, guys. I appreciate it. We're going to come see the duck right now. This is Come See the Duck. This is by... They should open. Yeah, yeah. This is Socky. Socky is foreign exchange students, Asian foreign exchange students in my neighborhood. This is their song, Come See the Duck. They wanted me to get the record. Hope you're still listening, Kyle. I should have played Kyle this and been serious. Been totally serious. Thank you, Saki. Is some fantastic stuff right there. And what's your mommy's name? What's your daddy's name? Who's running for president? And who else? And who are you going to vote for? What's your last name? Saparza. Saparza? No, it isn't. That's the only one he likes. Mom, we're doing an interview here. Do you mind? Can you please?
Keep that kind of stuff. Mom! Mom! I'm in an interview with Dad! Yeah, dude! Take that, Plumber Joe! Let's see. This is about Brady. Tom Brady on Entourage. It says, Mikey, will Tom Brady be wearing some Yankee gear so we recognize him? Blah, blah, blah, blah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Blah, blah, blah. For sure. Don't forget about the losing purse. Ashley went and got her eyebrows did. How about that? From Vicky, right? Vicky does it. What does she do? Does she spread some of that hot wax on there and rip that stuff off? That's good. It looks nice. Does it hurt like crazy?
No, listen, Mike, I've been getting my eyebrows dead for like seven years now. So it's almost like a rush. I almost like it. Like a little rush. Oh, sure. You know. What are your... Uh-oh. It hurts a little bit when you get them waxed. Ow, ow, ow. You all right? Are you all right? Are you all right? Oh, my. These eyebrow waxes can hurt, man. Sounds very painful. Ash, what would your eyebrows look like if you let them grow up for the next three years? Ew! Oh, man. You ever seen Bert? Excuse me, Irvin. This is fine! You saw them yesterday. Yesterday they were like as bad as they get. They don't get really bad, but I just... I thought there was two caterpillars walking across. You know. Did you hear her announcement yesterday? What? She made an announcement. What was it? A big time announcement. A big time announcement. What was it? The bangs.
Or no more. Really? No more bangs, huh? What are we going to do from 6 to 10 every day? No, I know. I wasn't going to just spring it on you guys because I wanted to. You're going to be so much more productive at work. I am so excited. I'm going to get my hair done this week and I'm going to go darker and get rid of the bangs. Have a new fresh fall look. Why is everyone clapping? Slow clap. You know? Slow clap. Is Michael loose? That's Paula Duhl. Oh, that's Paula Duhl. Okay. I love your eyebrows. Thank you. Well said. So much. Just let her nap. Just let her nap. It's fine. She's fine, guys. She's fine. If she's fine, then I guess I'll let it go. That's fine. That doesn't sound good. She's doing great. But it sounds like she's choking on her own vomit. It's fine. She'll recover. Oh, no. Sweet bear wine! Did you guys know? Oh, my. Did you know? Yes. That...
The jury selection in the Britney Spears driving without a license case is not going well. Oh, no. At all. Tell me about it. You can relate, huh? It could take forever, man. Big job. You know how hard it is to find a jury of your peers when the jury of your peers is comprised of people that have rushed for 2,000 yards and killed a couple people? It's like Terrell Davis and that's it. That's it, man. After that, where do you go? What did you do then? He murdered like a bunch. No, man. Is that right? Wow, man. Never been convicted. TD. Touchdown. So what's the deal? Why is it so hard to find a jury?
Well, you try and find a jury of people who don't know Britney Spears or have opinions of her or opinions regarding the paparazzi. Because basically this all goes back to something that happened in August of 07 when Britney scraped the side of another car when attempting to drive away from the paparazzi. So she settled out of court with the person who she hit their car. But, you know, the cop showed up and it's misdemeanor driving without a license. Leave her alone. Yeah, me and Eddie will settle this right now. Not guilty. Yes, not guilty. That was easy. So, yeah, so today is the second day of jury selection. As of last check, they still hadn't found one jury yet. Linens and Things is going out of business. They got four stores in San Diego. Sale starts tomorrow. What do you think about that? Sean, get on that, dude. That's as good as Michael's, right? Look at Rob just gave himself a fist bump on that one. Yeah, dude, blow it up. Wow. So Linens and Things has gone bankrupt. And so they got to clear out all their stores. All their linens? Oh, man. And things? And things, yeah. What's the things? Like, what are the things that linens and things? Oh, Eddie's giving me twinkle toe fingers. It's kind of like a Bed Bath Beyond where you got a whole bunch of things. Not even close. No, you don't think it's kind of like that? I mean, if you want to, like, insult Bed Bath & Beyond. It's the poor man's Bed Bath & Beyond. Yeah, so they're saying that they're going to, starting tomorrow, there's going to be discounts up to about 30% off of everything. Oh, I got to get in on that.
So get some Christmas shopping. One in La Jolla, one in San Diego, one in Encinitas, and one in La Mesa. Is there any linens and things at the mall? He just wants to work that in so bad. He wants to work it. His favorite thing is sky jokes. That one worked. His favorite thing is sky jokes. Oh, yeah. It fit perfectly. Oh, it was a good fit. Don't be so lemon. Come on, pussycat. Smile for me. This is kind of irritating to me. To save money and power, the city of San Diego is going to turn off the gas lamp fountain. Yeah, they're talking about figuring it out, Mike. That's like a, you know, really uptight dad. is what that is. You know like when your dad is just like being a jerk and he's turning everything off and he's telling you to turn the lights off. Yeah, and don't flush. Only flush with number two. Yes, yes. Learn that lesson. That's right. Still practice that one much. Practice it with the door open. No, I did reinstate that policy. I just added something to it. I just added or not.
I told my husband this weekend I'm going to let it mellow if it's yellow. So be prepared. Oh, no. I told him. I'm going to be there Saturday. On Saturday? Well, not when we have company over. So no one has to flush when we go over? Yes! Yes, guys! That's terrible. You're basically building an outhouse in your house. That's so disgusting. I'm letting it mellow if it's yellow, bro. Don't you think Rob's going to be there? Late, but Rob is supposed to be there. Oh, it is going to be mellowing all over the house. Side of the house everywhere. Can you imagine Mr. Sky is like, oh, great, it's a mellow yellow weekend around here. I'm trying to get him to let it mellow. They won't flush, but they have an $8,000 fountain that they have in their backyard. Sucking up power. It was an $80 fountain. And it takes very little power. Oh, how do you know? Do you have a meter out there? I asked my husband specifically. He asked me, he said, you want it on a switch or you want to have a timer? And I said, well, if we're going to put it on a timer, I don't want to if it's going to suck up too much energy. And he said, this pump only.
He told me. Well, let's add it up compared to the flushes. Well, I'm not saving energy. I'm saving water, bro. No, I get it. You're using water in your fountain? It recirculates. Exactly. It's not like it's hooked up to our homes. How do we solve it? Just like she has the timer for the fountain. You can get a timer for the fountain. And then just, let's say, 3 o'clock is flush time every day. So just get everything done at 3 o'clock. Every toilet gets flushed. One big flush? Yeah. Why don't you recycle the mellow in the fountain? I can help fill it up for you. Happy birthday, Skies! Sorry about the asparagus. Who said that? Somebody just ran in and said that. Grow up, people. Ridiculous. If they shut off the gas lamp fountain, they would save $40,000 a year and 1,000 gallons of water a day. Really? Yeah.
1,000 gallons a day. I still don't think they should do it. Currently, they're cutting back the time it's going to run. They're not running it in the really hot hours in the middle of the day, but they are talking to the city, and they want the city to redesign the whole plaza so they can, you know. You can redesign the whole plaza. Okay. I heard the Dow Jones dropped 700 points again yesterday. So I want to ask Chamberlain. So, okay, good time to buy again or what? Money, money, money. Right? Money, money, money. It's got to be. Yeah. Call my... Therapist. Hey, guys. Call my orthodontist. Let's get something going here. Get him on the phone. Hey, guys. I love money. Thank you for interrupting us. We understand, but still. I wasn't sure about that. Wait a minute. They just showed a scene from Best in Show on television. I don't know, but this is going to be fantastic. More than anything in the world. You want the big blue ribbon? Uh-huh, that's what you want. You want red? No, you don't want red. You want yellow? No, you don't want yellow. You want to go home with the blue. What do you see in front of me? It's fantastic. That's fantastic. If you've never seen Best in Show, I don't want to know yet. When was the last time you checked the air pressure in your tires? Can't remember? Then it's definitely been too long. Did you know even tires in good shape can lose about one pound of pressure a month? And underinflated tires make your engine work harder, lowering your mileage. But don't overinflate them. You can usually find the recommended tire pressure on a sticker located on the driver's side door jamb. And speaking of air, air conditioning is not so hot for your car's mileage either. Whenever you turn it on, it puts an added strain on your engine.
Now, at highway speeds, it's probably better to use the A.C. rather than roll down the windows because of the aerodynamics. But around town, enjoy the fresh air. And that's another great way to get the most out of your Chevron with Tecron. Learn more mileage tips by visiting chevronwithtecron.com. So many things can go wrong with your car. Oh, there he is. One more time. He was hitting it the whole time? That's your bad, bro. I was way off. Come back, everybody. Did my best. You were there for us. Ashley always has to end any strange segment. It works. Is Linda Hogan Hulk Hogan's wife? Yes, yes. You know it, brother. So why does she have an issue with Bubba the Love Sponge?
They are not friends. And, you know, I guess Bubba is BFs with Hulk. And so when all this divorce went down, there was, you know, obviously on his radio show, wasn't painting Linda Hogan in a very positive light. Oh, boy. And so, yeah, so Linda decided that she was going to get her revenge on Bubba by making this fake headstone. putting it in her front yard, making it look like it was a grave in her front yard. And the headstone read, Bubba Clem, he choked on a wad of phlegm. But she spelled phlegm, F-L-E-M. Oh, wow. And put that in her front yard for all of the world to see, including the paparazzi who has taken pictures of it and posted it everywhere. We got some irony up in here. I'm not looking so smart. Oh, wow. That's classic. Sky, you are the best. You are the best, Sky. Well, the reason she referred to him as Bubba Clem is because his name is Todd Clem.
But he goes by Bubba the Love Sponge. Yeah, and then Clem rhymes with phlegm, but is spelled differently. Spelled differently. Yeah. Turns out. Yeah, of course it is. Rob doesn't know how to spell phlegm. Oh. Oh, no. You can tell. You can tell. You can see it on his face. There's a U in there. You can see it right there on his face. Jerks. Andy Pettit says he's going to be back in 09 for the Yanks. Oh, yippee. Oh, wow. Hey, hopefully Mike Lucina will be back too. Yay. I told you that when I came back, I was going to tell you who they arrested in those North County sex attacks. Who was it, Sky?
It was actually a Marine. Now, starting back in August, there were about 11 reports of a guy approaching women in Oceanside and Vista and touching them in a sexual manner, and then also reports with the same description of a guy who would, like, ask women for directions or get them near his car, and then he would be pleasuring himself in the car once they got there. So they pulled over a guy earlier this week that matched the description, the car matched the description of all of these. And they arrested him and charged him with one count of false imprisonment, six counts of sexual battery, two counts of indecent exposure, and two counts of annoying a child under the age of 18. The police think there's probably more victims out there. So, you know, if you know anything about any of this, call the Oceanside Police. Let's see. I think we're done. Holla! Come to everything, man. You're so dear to the plumber. Total holla. Yeah, big time. 5701053. Did they say who won the debate last night? I had a hard time finding that. I went to different polls where people vote online and everyone I went to said Obama. Really? Everyone that you went to said Obama? Yeah. Isn't that convenient? Hey, boo. Who do you think won the debate? I was on...
boozeblogspot this morning. But the pundits last night, all they were talking about is how strong John McCain came out of the gate at Obama and how this was McCain's best debate out of the three. Yes, it was, actually. Thank you, Mikey. Oh, okay. I thought I kicked some major butt. Oh, okay. Well, good for you. Thank you, Mikey. 5701053. Sure. Oh, sure. McCain. Yeah. Yeah, who won the debate? Yeah. McCain won, he says. McCain. But he was asleep. Yeah, he was sleeping, Darren. I don't know how. He was up early this morning checking all the websites out. He wanted to know what was going on with that stuff. McCain. McCain. And what's your mommy's name? Mabek. What's your daddy's name? Mabek. Mike. He says Mike so clearly. Michael. Mike. Michael. That's my dog, Mike. How old are you? Two. And what's your mommy's name? My brother. What's your daddy's name? Mike. Who's running for president? Obama. And who else? Michael. And who are you going to vote for? Michael. What's your last name?
Samparza. Samparza? Samparza. How do you eat pizza there? That's not good. That's a great pizza joint. Are you going to get a slice, dude? It's great. Samparzas. And what are your kiddies' names? Jaws. Oh, come on with that question. You know it. Aw. Just got to throw that out there. In the middle of an important political debate. Thank you. We don't want to talk. Kitties. We're talking issues here, all right? Thank you, Mike. Come on. Get control of that household. Please. And who else, buddy? The game. What's up, man? That's right. 570-1053 is the number. You can give us a call. I wish that he would have said, Dad, I can't vote. I know. What's up? Hello? Figure it out. Let's see. P1 Michael. How you doing, Mikey? Good, man. What's going on? Hey, listen. I just wanted to say to all of you guys, thank you for having such a great radio show. I have to travel out of San Diego about once a month.
I was in Las Vegas this past week, and I can just tell you that for all the San Diegans, they should appreciate the Mikey show. It's an awesome show. You guys are funnier than can't say the word, but just great job, man. You guys have cracked me up. I about lost a gallon of chocolate milk out my nose this morning for talking about Ashley's eyebrows. Good work, man. It makes me laugh every time I can listen, and I just appreciate you guys. You do an awesome job. Thank you, bro. That's very nice of you, dude. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Yes. Thank you very much. I like to play the leader. Thank you. Thank you. You're a twinkle, two fingers. Yeah, beginning and end of every show, we take your calls. Open phones. You can call about anything you want. 570-1053. P1 Metal Dave. Hey, what's up? I got a tip about saving the water with the toilet. Okay. If you put a brick in the back of the toilet where the... A two-liter bottle, bro. Two-liter bottle. Go that route. That'll work, too. But the brick, if you put that in, if it's only a toilet that you use for just number one, you don't have to let it mellow. And, yeah, that works.
I don't get it. Yeah, if you can put anything in your tank of your toilet that basically displaces the space, like a two-liter bottle, fill it with water, stick it in there, then you're going to save two liters every time you flush because you're using two liters less of water every time you flush. There's oceans of water, bro. We're fine. Come on. 80% of the world is covered in it, so we're good. Watch Waterworld. P1, Chris. Chris, are you there? Yeah, I'm there, Mike. How you doing? Good, man. What's up? I'm just going to throw a little bow in you guys' way. How infectious and contagious your show is. My three-year-old daughter is now saying, hey, daddy, sweet berry wine. Sweet berry wine. Sweet berry wine. I can't quite get the peanut noir, so she says, peanut we are. She's here. Let me see if I can hear her do it. Yeah, I want to hear her do it. Sweet berry wine. McKenna, you know, after the beach of your favorite vacation spot. Nice. Here, come here. Oh, now she's getting all shy.
Once you want him to do it, that's it. Forget it. If they know you want him to do it, they're not doing it. Do you want to say hi to Mikey real quick? All right. Don't want to waste your time. Anyway, I just wanted to pass that on to you guys. Thanks, bro. Thank you. Yeah, when Jake sees that I have a recording device, first of all, all he wants to do is play with it. And so I have to pretend that it's on. Just put a light on so he can think it's on. He won't even play with it unless he thinks that I'm trying to do something. If he knows that I don't care, then he's not interested. But if he thinks, oh, we're not being productive, oh, he'll do it all day long. But then you get him to figure out that he's being tape recorded and he still wants it. They have to do it their way. P1 Fritz is on the line. Hello, Mikey Show. What's up? I had a quick question for the Oracle. Hi.
Hey, I've heard Sean Merriman on a couple different accounts say that as far as his contract goes and where he's going to be next year, it's not really up to him. I was wondering why is that? Well, it's up to the Chargers if they want to offer him a contract. His contract runs through 2009. For as good as he is, I mean, I think San Diego fans could rally around and, like, we could raise enough money. I wish that's how it worked, man, because absolutely, I would kick in a couple of bucks for that. But, you know, the Chargers have a lot of guys they need to resign, and that's including Phillip Rivers, Antonio Cromartie, Marcus McNeil. I mean, all. Eddie Papani. Eddie Papani, which, I mean, that's going to break the bank. So, you know, I mean. I think we're seeing now how important Sean is to the team as far as putting pressure on the quarterback and things like that. So I think that he's making plenty of money for himself even by not playing. I see. So hopefully it will happen, man. Money, money, money. Yes. Do you think that we could save the clip? That's his agent. Can we save the clip of you saying how important Sean is to the team? And then anytime we're talking about Sean, we can just play that. I think we lost it. Mikey Show.
Hi, this is Elise. Hi, Elise. Yeah. What's up? I just want to thank Mike for having a really great presentation at North Coast last week. Oh, right on. Were you there? Yeah, I actually, it was the first time I've ever actually gone to church. My brother goes there, and he was like, oh, my God, you've got to come and see this guy. You know, Mike, I've never heard of the show before, and he was just great. That was the night we were done with the 28-hour show. I don't know how you did that. It wasn't that bad. It was, you know, I took a nap and went over there. I was kind of grumpy at dinner, but after that, you know, I was pretty good. I'll say. All right. It was so funny watching you out there. I mean, like, I can't believe you were actually awake. Yeah. And then the next day it was fine because I got a full night's sleep that night. But that was really cool. And what they do at North Coast with that Jordan, it's called the Jordan. When do they do that? They do that every Wednesday night. Every Wednesday night, it's like college kids. Is it college-age kids? Yeah, it's mostly college kids. They invite some of the high school seniors. And then it's just mostly young adults, college kids. Yeah. It was seriously really cool. Good vibe. And really good. The band that was playing was really awesome. And they just signed some record deal. Yeah, they did. They seem to come out in about 10 months. Yeah, yeah. They were good. And the whole vibe there was just really cool. Sean went. Yeah, that's awesome.
And it's a cool deal. I guess they do it on Wednesday nights. At what time? They usually start at about 7. Right on. Do you go to North Coast Church? Actually, I just started the night that you came there. Oh, really? Yeah, my older brother works there. And he has been trying to get me back into church. And he said, you know what? You should go and listen to this guy. And you'll actually relate to him. And ironically, it was you. Yeah. North Coast. was voted one of the top 20 coolest churches in America, and it is, man. The vibe there is just really super cool, and they do it by what kind of music you're into. They have these things called venues. You were at the rock venue, and it's just a super cool laid-back vibe and what they call a come-as-you-are church where you wear jeans and flip-flops and whatever. It's a really cool thing. Yeah, I loved it, and thank you so much for coming. That was really an inspiration. Oh, that was nice of you. Thank you very much. I appreciate it. Thanks. Thank you. P1 Rice Man. Hey, how's it going, Mike? What's up, dude? I got a question for the Oracle. Need some help, man. My last couple weeks have been really, really bad. I think I've been like 6-9 on my picks for the last couple weeks with, you know, the Giants losing and Houston, you know, coming out barely or losing or whatever. And I was wondering if you had any advice or any specific teams that come to your mind I should be putting bigger points on or, you know, any teams that could be, you know, maybe like the Browns are going to keep doing good or like, you know, just any specific teams that come to your mind to help me out. Wow.
That's a lot of pressure. Are you talking about, like, against the spread or just straight up? No, no spreads. I got, like, me and a bunch of buddies are in just, like, every game. Like a pick-em league? Check, yep, win or lose every game. I actually would like to – I think that New England's going to rebound on Monday Night Football against Denver. I like that game a lot. I like Indianapolis on the road against Green Bay, and I would put money on Houston over Detroit. You have one in Houston over Detroit? Yeah. Excellent. Eddie, you're my savior. I'm going to put him on. I'll call you on Monday. No pressure, Eddie. No pressure. Oh, wow. Mikey Show, last call. Bring us home. All right. I just want to call and brag about my kid, about some stuff my kid can do, too. What can your kid do? When he was about a year and a half old, he started burping on his own. Between a year and a half and two years, I taught him how to give me beer. And just recently, without... Without me even teaching him, he started burping some ABCs and some numbers. Wow. He must be a proud papa. Yes. You know, the whole get-me-a-beer thing, you know, some people... Hey, man, by four, he can roll his own joints. Well, you know, I don't know. Congratulations. That was not really what I expected the guy to say. But, hey, listen, kid, get some beer. What are you going to do? Well, congratulations, question mark?
