Mikey, Eddie, Skye, Ashley and Boston Rob moved between comic games, celebrity stories and unusually personal calls. The longest argument centered on Jason and Melissa: his secret contact with Colleen undermined his claim that a firefighter had simply stolen Melissa, and Mikey urged him to accept the breakup and work on himself. Doug Benson's Spoonman riff, the Village Idiom game and the Hidden City Derby Girls supplied the show's strongest comedy, while the crew also mocked Paris Hilton's space fears, Miley Cyrus's age-gap romance and the implausible backwards-B assault story. Mikey ended on a serious note, recounting his alcoholism, Christian recovery and the hope represented by an ordinary moment with his young son.
What happened, in order
Palin Diplomacy
Eddie calls Sarah Palin "freakishly gorgeous" and jokes that her looks alone could persuade foreign leaders to hand over oil and money.
The HIV Tipping Point
Skye reports that one person may have exposed 50 Missouri high-school students to HIV, and Mikey uses The Tipping Point to argue that diseases can spread through one highly connected person just as fashions do.
The Village Idiom
Ashley confidently mangles "cut off your nose to spite your face" and other idioms while callers win prizes by deciding whether her improvised definitions are right.
Paris Lost in Space
Paris Hilton says she fears a celebrity spaceflight could return her 10,000 years later after everyone she knows is dead, leaving the hosts stunned by her grasp of light years.
Jason and Melissa
Jason says a firefighter stole Melissa from him, but Melissa joins the call to describe his hidden contact with Colleen, notes and MySpace posts, leading Mikey to call his behavior cheating and manipulation and tell him
Doug Benson Drops In
Doug Benson visits before his House of Blues show and riffs with the crew about Spoonman, Last Comic Standing, Super High Me and Ashley's baffling Jerry Seinfeld impression.
Hidden City Derby Girls
Morticia Demolicia, St. Val Massacre, Lady Smith 357 and Cindy Sadist explain flat-track roller derby, its jammers and blockers, and invite women to join their Escondido league.
Miley's Age Gap
The crew dissects 15-year-old Miley Cyrus's evasive answer about 20-year-old Justin, arguing that the age gap makes the rumored romance troubling while mocking Ryan Seacrest's fixation on Justin's looks.
The Backwards B
Mikey and the crew pick apart a McCain supporter's alleged political assault, focusing on her changing account, the ATM footage and a suspiciously neat backwards B scratched into her cheek.
The 1929 Laptop Crash
After Skye reports a steep Dow drop and halted premarket trading, the crew turns the 1929 crash into an absurd riff about Dell computers, spyware and the invention of Control-Alt-Delete.
Mikey's Recovery Testimony
Mikey describes severe alcoholism and hopelessness, credits surrendering to God for his recovery, and says a quiet bedtime moment with his son showed him how completely his life had changed.

6-0-4. A Plavania woman claimed she was attacked. Burped into her face because she was a McCain supporter. World Series Game 2 went to the home team Tampa Bay Rays. They beat the Phillies 4-2 last night. B.J. Upton talks about the Rays' victory. That is nice. He doesn't want to see an American League team win, I'm sure, at this point. It's just insult to injury. He just wants to say, hey, you know what? Just take it. You National League bunch of National Leaguers. Which would you rather see, Rob? I don't know. Maybe you wouldn't. Maybe you would prefer the American League to win. No. I don't care about the Rays. I actually do like the Phillies a little bit. I like the guys on their team. I think it's a better ball club than Tampa. You going Patriots today? You got a Patriot jersey on? Yeah. Which number is that? It's Teddy Brewski. Oh, there you go. Hey, come on. Brewski jersey. How about that? Hey, the Brewski. Hey, yo.
Skye, I don't understand why somebody would carve a bumblebee into the side of a face of a woman that... No, no. I don't understand that. Why don't you put a B on somebody's face? It doesn't make sense. The letter B. Doesn't make any sense to me. For allegedly Barack. We'll dive into that. Yeah. It's a very controversial topic. Typical of the Democrats. The Democratic Party. I carved somebody's face up last night. See? That's right. I knew it. Skye is a violent monger. Yes. That's right. 570-1053. You can call us and say hello. What kind of prizes do we have today? Ooh, fancy ones. Yes. Oh, fancy? Yeah. What do we got? Let me think. Like chandeliers. Ooh, that's a super fancy one. Yeah, Rolls Royces. That is a super fancy one. Some tickets to something. Oh, something fancy. Like a debutante ball.
The Gladiator Challenge, which is a big MMA fight going on out at Palma Casino. That's cool. That's very fancy. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You're fancy. All right, check it out. I have that prize available for the person that calls in and tells us the answer to the following question. Who, what famous, hopefully you didn't, Eddie, what was your tease right now? Starting out, what was your first tease? World Series. World Series. So my question to everyone listening is what very famous basketball coach, college basketball coach has decided to step down after 25 years. What very famous college basketball coach is stepping down after 25 years is the only name I know of that place. The only name I associate with it. Uh,
And so call us at 570-1053. First person to get through and answer that question will be a winner. Very nice. Last night, Rebecca and I had hibachi. Oh, you're so lucky. Look at you. Oh, you're so lucky. It was good. Yeah. It was good. Where'd you go? She had like three bites. She has like three bites of her food. She hates it. So delicious. I don't know how that's possible. I don't either because it's so good. Yeah. It's so delicious. Yeah. Delish. We went to Katsu in San Marcos. You don't like this guy? Really? I mean, it's okay, but it's not Benihana. See, to me, they're all as good as each other. No, not to me. There's a difference. I haven't been to the BH in a long time. I don't remember. I know Benihana's good. It's been a while. It is heaven. Did they make the bread rice? Oh, yeah.
Garlic butter and all that good stuff. You got that right. Let's see. Let's see if anybody knows who this basketball coach is. P1 Derek? Hey, what's going on, Mikey? What's going on, dude? Hey, it's Lute Olsen. Lute Olsen is correct. Hello now. Lute Olsen is correct. University of Arizona. Awesome. Bye-bye after 25 years. Hang on the line, bro. You're a winner. Thank you. Why, Eddie? You know, last year he took a leave of absence. He wanted to spend more time with his family. He had some health issues and was going to give it a go this year. And he just decided, yeah, no, it's time. I need to step away. And that's it. He's done. There it is. Whoa.
All right, well, we can clear the phone lines out and just open them up to you to call about anything you want to. Questions or comments or TV or what's going on this weekend or anything. And you can text us, too. That's another easy way to get a hold of us. 35253 is a great way to get a hold of us by just texting us. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show. I am 38 years old. Did either of you guys have the tomatoes that I gave you? No. Eddie or Sky? No. Your husband did not eat them, right? No. Sky won't eat them, Eddie. No. She don't like them. Please. Her husband does. Please. Ridiculous. I gave them yellow tomatoes yesterday. Those are the best ones. They're so good. They're real, real good. I love the red ones, though, too. They're so full of flavor. The red ones are good. They're all delicious. And right now, these ones that are coming ripe are these other heirloom tomatoes that are trippy colors. Cut one of those open the other day, and I think that's better than all of them. It was sweet. It was actually sweet. And that's a trip to me, like sweet tomatoes. Like when you say trippy colors, are we talking like Skittles? Like what are we talking? We're talking like kind of a like purplish, like the color of a bruise, like that kind of purplish. Like you're eating an eggplant. Oh, my goodness. I thought.
I seriously thought that was a tomato. Eddie is our producer and our sports guy. And Eddie is 35 years old. And he is married. And wears a wedding ring that he has probably now got a complete and fully formed little callus on the bottom of the wedding ring. The wedding ring callus that you get from wearing it. I got that thing where your finger is like smaller. The rest of your finger now? Yep. Take my ring off? Uh-huh. It's kind of weird. That's right. Eddie has the luckiest anniversary known to man. He was married on 777. Yeah. How about that? Take that. 7707. Awesome. Sky is our news girl. She is 31 years of age. Hi, Mike. And she is wearing the color lavender. Aw.
I prefer the color of money, but... Yes. In a pinch, this will do. Okay. Sometimes I just wrap on my Benjamin shawl. Right. It's a good looking shirt. Thank you, Eddie. A good friend picked this out for me. Oh, really? Is that the one that Eddie got you for your... He did a wonderful job. For your birthday? Yeah. So cute. Very nice. No one believed that I actually picked it out. I still kind of don't believe it. That's nice. Yeah. No one believes it. Well, I mean, it's so perfect. I mean... That's right. I know what I'm doing. Yeah. I know my lady. I'm just saying. You know what's weird is when we bring, sometimes when we bring our spouses into our environment, they don't realize that we know each other really well. Yeah. So it was instantly. I almost spend more time with you guys than I do with my wife. Yeah. My wife works all day. Well, I mean, it was instantly.
recognizable that you picked that out. Well, who else would know that Skye would want slippers and comfortable clothes and, duh, my wife doesn't know that about her. It's the truth. Skye's rocking the black headband. That's always good. It's good luck. And Shawnee O'Boy's wearing the avocado t-shirt. I love it. Taste the rainbow. That's right. How you doing, Skittle? It's got on the little green avocado t-shirt. Is it t-shirt or sweatshirt? I can't tell from the camera. It's a t-shirt, Mike. It's a short sleeve. It's got the pocket. What do you put in the pocket? It depends. I'm sorry. What was that? My Federation pin. I do have one. Oh, I'm sure you do. Excuse us. Yeah, no one does that. I don't need to put it in the pocket, though. I always wonder, what is the pocket T-shirt? Yeah. It's very convenient. T-shirt pocket. Really? What do you carry in that sucker? I mean, it is a utility. So what do we use that utility for? What do we put in the T-shirt pocket?
Well, it depends. I mean, sometimes I may even put my cell phone in there at times. Oh, my goodness. So that you get that nice T-shirt pocket sag. Well, I mean, sometimes it's very convenient. Let me see. Let me see. Move back. Look at how it sags down in there. Oh, my God. Weird. I like it. Pulls down the left breast. Yeah. I know I have enough sag as it is. Oh, wow. Ashley is our assistant producer. And Ashley, how often do you rock accessories? How often do you go accessories? I don't know that I ever really noticed too many necklaces or bracelets or that kind of stuff. Or do you go that direction? I'm not big on accessories. Normally, on a day-to-day basis, I'll wear just maybe one or two things. One ring and, like, a necklace. And maybe one day I'll wear, like, a bracelet and maybe some hoops. And, like, that's it. Let's see how observant we are. Eddie, does Ashley carry a purse? Yes. What does it look like? It's giant. It's giant. What color is it? I believe it's multicolor. It's a multicolor. Oh, no, wait. She has a gold purse, doesn't she? Yeah.
Silver? I thought it was silver. I thought it was a big old silver. Oh, I love this. This is so interesting. She has a big silver purse. Yeah. See, when Eddie said it's gigantic, I instantly went, oh, yeah, I think I remember this. Well, I just know she carries everything in that thing. And gold seemed to ring a bell to me. Yeah, I thought silver. I thought it was gold, but maybe you're right. I think it is silver. It's very metallic. Very metallic. Yes. You're not sure on gold or silver, but you believe it's metallic. He's not sure on anything. White gold. White gold. He doesn't look. Ashley, do you have one purse and one purse only? I've been rocking the purse I have now with me today for at least six months, if not more. It's like a flip-flop. It's the one purse to rule them all. This has been my purse for a while. Drum roll, Sean. Drum roll, please. Let's see the purse. Oh, wow. Oh, wow. That's not the normal. No, that is not the normal. You have not been rolling that off. Yes, I have. It's my summer purse. Because I remember we had a discussion on the air about how your ex-boyfriend was giving you crap about carrying around that same big old grandma purse all the time, and he wanted you to get a new purse. That was not six months ago.
It was a while ago. This is my summer purse. So what color is the grandma one that we're talking about? The big one. It's like a goldish metallic. I haven't worn that one for a while though. What she just showed us was a small purse. And the brand is called Sack. It's a little knit. It's very cute. It's a little macrame. I've never seen that purse. He is completely lying right now. He's trying to humiliate us. And I don't appreciate it. It's my summer sack. I've had it since Tuesday. Hello. Easy does it, pal. Take it easy, lady. Easy does it, pal. So that's our girl, Ashley. Boston Rob. Yo. He is from Boston. He was raised in a community called Hopkinton. And he always tells us, you know, it's where the marathon starts, Mike. Yeah, you know it. But I got friends in Framingham. That's where I went to high school. Yeah. Framingham. Framingham. Framingham. The Burry, Peabody, you name it. Here we go. Are you guys done? Eddie's heard these terms a lot is what I think he's saying.
You know what's really funny is on that new show Fringe. Yes, I was thinking that last night. It's crazy. It takes place in Boston. And they put up these graphics for what place they're in. And they have all these crazy cities around Massachusetts. So they just had Framingham on the last episode. And I've seen cities like Acton, Acton, and all these new Massachusetts cities that I drop on Rob now. I get to watch that show now. It's really good, man. You know that'll get him watching it. Well, yeah, because when they pull in to do a shot of the city and they have that graphic that I was talking about in 3D, they are actually showing neighborhoods. And I was like, I wonder if those are actual neighborhoods in Boston. Yeah, it's all the little neighborhoods, man. Acton, yeah, all that. It's pretty cool. Oh, that's awesome. 570-1053 is our phone number. What night should I come over so we can watch that? Well, watch out. It gets all gory. People's brains pump out. It's really cool. Calm down. Dude. That last episode was a little gory, but. Please. I laughed. I laughed actually thinking of Sky. When the head exploded. Yeah. And Eddie's telling me the show isn't gory. Some chick's head explodes all over the place. It's usually not. Okay. Our text number is 35253.
I've introduced six people on the Mikey show. And the seventh person on the Mikey show is the artist formerly known as Sir Roosevelt Zethian Oates, the third junior, Esquire, MD, DDS, president and CEO. As seen on TV. That's correct. That's our boy. That's Zethian Oates. Cute. Good kid. He is cute. He's our phone screener. He's in there screening up the phones for you. Going to his first boo ball tonight? Oh, no. Sounded like a little girl. Oh, gosh. Yeah, yeah, is he really? Always supervising. He just gave me the...
Chills. Nah, he's going to be fine. He'll be with me and Rob. Who's chaperoning? What's going on? Eddie's my chaperone. Oh, no. He'll be with me and Rob. That is bad. He'll be curled up in a ball in no time. Someone will be vomiting in the dumpster. Yeah, I mean, can you guys, like... He can't afford drinks. Come on. Can you guys keep him, like, on a pair of handcuffs so you can make sure he doesn't, you know, nobody runs off with him? I got him on one of those kid leashes. Yes. Gets bounce back. It's actually a monkey backpack in the tail. It's so funny. Zett says in his yesterday email that he had friends calling him all day and texting him all day yesterday asking for boo ball tickets because it's sold out. Yeah, it's crazy. And he was telling them that all he could get was a pair for himself. They thought he was lying. Yeah, they were genuinely mad at me. They're like, no, you're lying. I'm like, no, really, dude. Sorry, try Craigslist or something. I don't know what to tell you. Way to wait until the last second. Sold out. Yep. Can't get tickets. P1 Stuck in the Trunk is on the line. What's going on, Mikey? Not too much, dude. What's going on? Hey, this is a question for the Oracle. Hey, Eddie, dude, I did what you did the other day. Basically, I was cleaning out a storage bin of mine, and I think I might have found a Troy Aikman rookie card, and I don't know if it is or not. Do you have, like, a suggestion of a...
where to go to get it, you know, appraised or something, you know? Well, I mean, you can go on eBay and take a look and see what cards are worth right now and just, you know, Google Troy Aikman rookie card and you'll get a lot of stuff that comes up and, you know, you'll be able to find out what it's worth and things like that. Oh, okay. I was almost freaking out yesterday, man. Okay, call Eddie first. Dude, honestly, I wouldn't freak out. I was going through my garage where all my, you know, boxes are of stuff that I used to have in Boston. And I found, I ran into all my old baseball, basketball, football cards. And I'm going through them. And, dude, I got stuff from, like, the 70s and, like. For real, Rob? Oh, yeah, dude. I used to collect all kinds of cards. So I got, like, Barry Bonds' rookie card. No way. Mike Thomas. Oh, nice. Like, dude, all these cards. And I'm thinking jackpot, dude. You know, 30 years later. Right. 20 years later. I go, there's a card shop across the street from me. The guy says, unless you have like stuff from the early 1900s, like the rarest of rare cards, cards aren't worth anything. Really? Right now, the market is horrible. Dude, that thing's probably worth a nickel. No, I'll say that. I'm not even kidding, man. Hang on a minute. While we were talking. Yeah. I just checked it out for you on eBay. Now, if it's a rookie card, if it's a 1989 Troy Aikman rookie card.
I'm seeing $100. That's not too bad. Now, but then as I go down, I'm seeing stuff that's way less than that. Oh, really? Tops, I don't remember the rest of it. It's Rookie all over it. If you can sell it on eBay, you could probably make a little bit of money. But I'm telling you, if you go to a local card shop, they're going to tell you. You check football cards or just baseball cards? I checked everything. You have football cards? Yeah. I got like all them at Smith cards, like crazy weird cards. But dude, the guy, yeah, the guy had everything in the shop and he was showing me boxes of sets of cards that he said. There's no market for them now. Yeah, because you can ask whatever you want to ask on eBay. That doesn't mean you're going to get it, and that doesn't mean that's what it's worth. But it's not like the card market used to be in the 80s and 90s. Unless you got a Michael Jordan rookie card, dude, I would not. I would suggest getting a good, you know, is it in a good piece of like... Yeah, bro. Straight up.
I should preserve this card. Good. Just hold on to it, man. There's no reason to sell it right now. Just hold on to it. That's what I'm doing. All my cards, dude, just put them in a place where you're going to forget about them. And in 20 years, when you take them out to show your kids, it's just a cool thing to have. I found my Robotech toys, my G.I. Joe toy. Oh, my. All right. Bring them over. Yeah, bring them over. Let's play. Thank you, brother. Appreciate the phone call. We have two people in the studio with us today. Oh, my. that we got some P1 trivia players. P1 Kim actually won P1 trivia, and she's a senior analyst at a research consulting firm. Oh, hello. And she's in here today. She's been taking Kung Fu, it says, for about a year, and she loves it. Wow. What kind? I used to take Kung Fu. What kind are you taking, Kim? Yeah. It's just Kung Fu, I guess. How are you doing with it? Are you doing pretty good? Yeah. That's cool. Boston Rob's checking out his kung fu moves. Those are really ridiculous kung fu moves. It's a southern style. I would not get that. I think that may be a little over my pay grade. And also P1 Joe is in the studio. Well, he is not a plumber. He is...
A windshield tech. So he fixes windshields. Some interesting stuff about him. He has one and one quarter inch earrings. He also plays video games. Recently had a seizure. And is on disability. And still wakes up early to listen. These are some interesting stuff. How are you, man? What happened? You had a seizure. What was it about and what is it? I was sleeping. I guess I talk in my sleep at times. Yeah. My girlfriend said it sounded like I was driving a car, like vroom, vroom, and then I started shaking and she called an ambulance. What did they figure out it is? I don't know. Are you taking anything? I went to a neurologist yesterday and they told me to take half a pill of Keppra last night. Is that like an over-the-counter or is that a prescription? I guess it's something that he had. Have you had one since? No. I got a friend.
I got a friend with a daughter that this started happening too. And I think that there's just, I don't know that there's that much known about it and how it happens and what, you know, but they do have medicine. I know they have medicine for it. So hopefully the medicine helps you out. Cool to have you here. You have one and a quarter inch earrings. It freaks me out. Oh, wow. Look at that. It's a big old holes in his ear. It's one of those deals, you know, like, you know, you've seen like tribes that stretch out their lips. primitive type yeah the primitive thing he did that with his earlobe i would be a perfect candidate for that i've got giant earlobes a lot of real estate to work that's right how did they do that every earring i get like if i find bigger ones i'll take tape and wrap it around it and shove it in what happens if you take it out what does it look like if you take it out No, I do not. Come over here. No, I do not want to see that floppy ear. I want to see floppy ear. No, it's going to be so floppy ear, bro. Let's check it out. Oh, gross. You guys, does anybody want calamari? That is a trip. It looks like a calamari ring.
Eat some aioli on that dude. Put a little aioli on that dude. So that's like a lifetime commitment, right? I mean, your ears are never going to go back. I doubt it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're going to be the 90-year-old guy in the senior center with the big giant, you know, hoopie earrings. Tripping over your floppy ears. That's right, tripping over the ears. Next to the saggy Boston tattooed neck guy. Yes, right next to you. In the bed next to you. 570-1053. Give us a call right now, and you can talk about anything you want to. P1 Notre Dame has a question for the Oracle. Hey, Eddie. I've been hearing that Ernest Graham has been filling in as fullback, and they want to bring back Cadillac Williams. and Ernest Graham is my starting running back. What's the outcome of that? Well, Ernest Graham is still getting his touches. They are running that set where Ernest Graham plays fullback, and actually Ward Dunn is getting the touches. But if Cadillac, I know Cadillac was put on the pup list before the season, so he's probably due back any time now. And if he does come back, that is probably what will happen. But Ernest Graham will still get his touches, and he'll still get carries.
At the goal line. Sky Pup List stands for Physically Unable to Perform. Okay, thank you. Eddie. Yes. Is Lindell White going to have a game like that again on my bench? Well, you didn't start him. Why would I? I don't know. I don't know who you have. You said you had Ernest Graham. I have Ernest Graham and Brendan Jacobs. Yeah, I mean, I think Lindell White's a starter right now. I mean, you know, him and... And Chris Johnson, the way they're playing in Tennessee, you know, I would start them both just because they're both getting equal carries. And Lindell's the goal line back, and he's getting a lot of touchdowns. So, you know, right now I would sit Ernest Graham and start Lindell for sure. Okay, thanks. Thank you, brother. And, by the way, for those of you keeping score at home, Eddie was very right last week when he told P1 Matt Damon. Matt Damon. Matt Damon. Matt Damon. Matt Damon. Matt Damon. Matt Damon. Well, P1 Matt Damon called in. He said, hey, Adrian Peterson, I'm thinking about putting him on my bench. He's playing Chicago and in Chicago. And they got the greatest defense. And Eddie says, dude, you drafted him to play him. Put him out there. We are who we thought they were. Yeah. Or whatever. And he proceeded to make Matt Damon very happy that day. I would hope so. He had a huge game. Yeah.
570-1053 is our phone number. Eddie had to take a cold shower this morning. That was fun. Pretty hot and heavy. Is that the deal? Somebody needs a cold shower. I don't know what happened, but the shower that I used this morning, the water would not get hot. And I checked the pilot light, and the pilot light was on. There was no problems. It just wouldn't get hot. Everything else in the house was fine. But it would not get hot, so I had to take a nice, cool shower. No way it would be. I have no idea. That is so weird. Sky looks perplexed. Yeah, I'm thinking something, obviously, with the hot water supply to that one specific shower. I mean, it works fine normally. Pipe, blockage. That's crazy. I don't know, Chetty. You're very smart. I'll come over later and fix it for you. Snake it. Yeah, I'll snake it. You're smart. Folks, we have text messages pouring in. Oh. And the text messages are specifically to show members and their areas of expertise. To the Oracle, what's your prediction for the Silva-Cote fight? P1 Bedlam. Absolutely destruction by Anderson Silva. He is going to probably concave Patrick Cote's face. Well, Anderson Silva is the best striker in MMA.
Deadly. And Patrick Cote, his whole thing is standing up. He doesn't have any ground game. So they're going to stand and bang, and Anderson Silva's going to kill the guy. I think he's going to knock him out in 30 seconds. Wow. That is a bold prediction. It's good. I like it. Here is another question for Eddie. Eddie, do you find Sarah Palin sexy? Oh, my gosh. All he was talking about in the office yesterday. I'm falling in love with her. Let me finish the question. Again, areas of expertise here. Whoa. That's funny. Eddie, do you find Sarah Palin sexy? And do you think it'll help with dealing with other nations? That's P1 Wonder Bread. Absolutely. I mean, she's freakishly gorgeous. And I'm kind of offended when I see Tina Fey because I'm like, Tina, you can't hold a candle. I mean, you look like her, but like her uglier sister. Sarah Palin is...
Drop-dead gorgeous, man. I think he said it. She is freakishly gorgeous. She really is. And, like, I find it hard to even look at her. And that's what, I mean, these guys with, like, turbans and stuff who've never seen a woman's face. Like, they're going to see. What are they going to do? They're going to look at her and be like, oh, mama. Yeah. Here's our oil. Yeah. You know, this is great. We have never seen beauty like this. We'll take it, please. We'll stop everything. Our debt is going to be like, you know, the national debt is going to be like done. We'll have these sheiks giving us all this dough. I'm sure they will. Of course. I've never seen nothing like that, man. Just keep making the palin calendars and we'll do whatever you want. This text message says, Mikey, can you ask I to tell us what's going on with the stock markets? P1 Maddie. Skywatch is that stuff. Yeah, I was seeing this morning that it wasn't looking good, that overseas stock markets were tanking, so they were expecting us to kind of tumble this morning. Let's see, Dow futures tumble, trading limits imposed is the headline on CNN right now. What does that mean, trade limits imposed? Let's see, the Dow Jones fell 548 points this morning, leading to a freeze on their sales.
Ouchie. The Dow fell 584 points. 548 points. 548. Leading to a freeze. You know, honestly, today was the day that I was going to be purchasing my first stocks. Really? Yeah. Now, according to George Chamberlain, you wait until it's down to get in there and then you do it. You do your thing. Yeah. I was listening to this guy yesterday say that this is... Like garage sale prices. Like we'll never see prices like this for buying stocks ever again in our history. Now, here's what I want to ask Chamberlain. I was curious about a very particular company yesterday. And the reason that I was curious about this particular company was because and they are a specific company. They're not like a big company that does like they're not like. Coca-Cola or Apple or Microsoft, they're not like that. They're a technology company that I am aware of that is going to be doing stuff and is currently doing stuff that I'm interested in. Stevens and Bapani Enterprises. That is correct. I know exactly what you're talking about. They're very cutting out.
BostonRob.edu. We'll just take cash. You don't have to buy stock. I got change. I got a couple of fives and some ones. I like it. I go on Fidelity and I'm checking them out. You can look at their history over the last week, month, six months, year, five years, whatever. I'm looking at it. Since our economy started to go, so did they. And at their highest point, they were doing pretty good. Their shares were selling for a pretty good amount of money. And ever since the market started to do its thing, it started to do its thing. I mean, it's very cheap right now. And I'm like, I don't know about that. I don't know if I want to get in on it in hopes that it's going to go back to what it was. And that this is an economy thing. And Sky was telling me. I got some serious stock if you're looking to buy it. Yeah. Same thing. Serious. I hadn't checked my stock in forever. Like I bought it at $7 a share when everybody was talking about, oh, satellite radio. And then watched it. And it's kind of been hovering around $3 a share or whatever. I checked it yesterday for the first time. $0.28 a share.
Are you going to sell it? I'll buy it. Yeah, who's got two bucks? Who wants to buy all my serious stock? Now, I wonder, Sky, if that will drastically change and that that stuff will soar once the merger's complete between them and XM. Yeah, that's the hope. Who knows? Because that's a pretty strong company once they're, like, merged. And right now, they're kind of in that in-between stage, but once they're... Done with their deal. We really have to take a break. It's Saturday, right? Like we've now gone into Saturday. Really have to take a break. And I have more text messages. So 570-1053. Text us 35253 if you want to. And what do we have on the show today? We have a lot of stuff, actually. We have the village idiom. The village idiom is back. As the crow flies. As the crow flies is an idiom. And what we do is we just give idioms to Ashley and we ask her to give us the definition. What does it mean? Simple enough. When we asked her what is as the crow flies, she said, that's somebody that is very basic, but they have a good work ethic. So we'll be playing the village idiom soon. We're going to be doing a weekend worry work. We'll be asking you, what's going on with your weekend? What do you got coming up there, Captain? Yes.
We're going to do Ask the Oracle so you can find out what's going on in the sports world by asking Eddie. Awesome! We are also, we got a great email. I meant to get to this yesterday. We didn't have time. The dude that was writing me about his new chicks, cats, and his feelings on these cats. Comedian Doug Benson will be in the studio. We got the YouTube clip of the day. And don't forget our blogs at MikeyShow.com. And that comedian, Doug Benson. This is his work in the stand-up spotlight. I was out on a date recently. Let's say it was with a woman. And at the beginning of the date, she goes, I don't like movies. I never go to movies. Movies are stupid. And in my head, I was like, you're stupid. But I didn't say that because I knew I could slip lines from classic motion pictures into the conversation, into the convo, and she would think I was a genius. So we're sitting there at dinner, and I'm like...
You make me want to be a better man. From as good as it gets. And then she goes, When did you first know you liked me? And I'm like, You had me at hello. From Tobey Maguire. Yeah, I know I said Tobey. It's funnier that way. And then at the end of the meal, though, I screwed up. Because I shouldn't have quoted a line from the movie Babe. Because I was like, That'll do, pig. That'll do. You don't even know what stupid it is. Now back to Mikey. I love football so much. Eddie. I have a very strong sensitivity to smells. Sky. I smoked so much pot in high school those years. I blew my brain out. What do you want me? Sean. Pet Shop Boys are one of my favorite groups. Boston Rock. I wish I was smarter so I could fight this better. And Ashley. I am a very, very twitchy person and I feel like it's because I have ADD. The Mikey Show is on. Rock 105.3. Welcome back to Mikey's Show. It is 6.48. Both Tina Fey and Will Ferrell did their political impressions last night on Saturday Night Live weekend update Thursday. Good day, mate. The Chargers gear up for their game in London against the Saints on Sunday. All the action can be heard right here on Rock 105.3. That's a good day, mate. Right, Ash? You know? Hey, listen. It's good. You know, they're going to London. And so throw another shrimp on the barbie. That's right. Let's have fun.
Sky just mentioned that they did a little Thursday night update, which, you know me, I'm sure I've heard about it and forgot about it. But on Thursday nights, they do that. Yeah, it was cool. Will Ferrell came back and did his President Bush last night. Awesome. It was great. This is President Bush talking to Sarah Palin. So nice to you, Mr. President. I've seen you on TV. Where's McRage? You know, John McCain and I have been so busy traveling around this great country of ours, talking about change and energy independence and William Ayers and doing a little shopping. Good. Unfortunately, Senator McCain, upon hearing you wanted to give him a super public endorsement, cannot be found. He was last seen traveling on foot through the Adirondacks. My husband Todd and two of his drinking buddies are in pursuit on snow machines. Well, we'll smoke them out. George Bush always finds his man, save for one huge exception. We are going to get her done. My God, you are folksy. Thank you, Mr. President. I like to think I'm one part practiced folksy, one part sassy, and a little dash of high school bitchy.
For a while, I was trying to be folksy, but after a bit, it just came off douchey. There it is. It's so good. Do they have an Obama guy on Saturday Night Live? Yes. Who does it? Fred Armisen. He is the worst. Really? You don't like it, Rob? He's not good. Don't sound like him? He's not good at him. Doesn't sound like him? He has a few mannerisms or whatever he does with his voice. Yeah. But he doesn't, like, you do a great Obama. Hey, find me some of that. Find me some of that, Sean. I agree. This guy cannot do it. Does he look like him? I think you do a better impression than this guy. You do a great one, dude. And that's what I had to compare it to when I saw him. And I'm just like, let Mikey, like, dub it for you. And you just talk to it. Well, why don't they just make me look black and I'll go on the show and I'll do it. I'm insane the whole time. I'll go. And Shawnee, I'll find some of that. Some of the text messages we're getting. 35253 is our text number. And our phone number is 570-1053. Mikey, whatever happened with the girl who won Zeth in the auction on the 28-hour show? That's P1 Steena. Zeth, have you called her yet? No. He's playing coy. He's playing hard to get. I like his style. Has she called him? Has she called you? Nope.
Oh, wow. I like her style. All right. Sounds like a fast-moving relationship. even know if she was really into him. Like, I mean, I think everybody's looking into this like she like, you know, that she's like in love with Seth. I think I get what Sky's saying. It was for charity. It was for charity. No, I'm not kidding. Thank you. Put that on your resume. Keep it updated, Sky. It's like all the P1s are acting like, oh, this chick's in love with Seth. Well, I mean, she's donating money to charity. I think what Sky's saying is, is that we are... Somehow, strangely, assuming this is about romance. Right. Let the romance begin. It never really was about romance. It was about charity. Thank you, Rob. That guy is a catch. Thank you, Eddie. No, thank you, Scott. Seth, are we wrong in assuming that this is about romance? Or was it just, hey, you know, she did this charity. We went out on a...
date that night, but it's not really about... I think it was more about the Sizzler. Yes, it was more about going to Sizzler. Both fans of Sizzler. That's right. What's the deal, Seth? Hey, we help the kids out. There you go. There you go. It's not about romance. Let the romance not begin. Mikey, you may not know Kung Fu, but I'll tell you what, you got your rock moves. That's P1 Bradley. That's really all you need. That's right. I've got my rock moves. Mikey, can you please explain, and in quotations it says, the mall. That's P1 Red Sox. Yeah, sure. I got it. You have it? Yeah. Let's hear it, Shani. Okay, here's what he sounds like. Nearly all small businesses earn less than $250,000 a year. And if Joe's business falls into that category, he should know that under my plan, his taxes will not go off. Senator, I don't think most people believe that. I know Joe the plumber doesn't because he told me so. I'll tell you what I do like about it. I don't think his voice sounds like Obama, but I'll tell you what I do like about it. I like the inflection at the end of the sentence. He's got cadence. That's it, cadence. I like the, you know how he does that. But that's all he does. I like that. There's so much more to it. There's so many more elements. Little nuances.
Eddie, the guy's on national TV. How can you not agree with me? Step it up a notch. I mean, the most random thing is going to get wrong. The heritage of Saturday Night Live deserves better. The rich heritage. I think we all get it. That's right. No one gets it. Is that Tiger Woods? I don't know what's going on. I'm confused by that comment. Mikey, T-shirt pockets were originally for cigarettes. That's El Pumidora. Wow. Did not know that. Well, Sean does not use his T-shirt pocket for cigarettes. I don't. Yes, that's true. I don't. He does not. He does not. Your pipe. No, he does not do that. Shawnee uses that little pocket occasionally for his cellular device. He's mobile. He's mobile. You can text us at 35253. Mikey, I almost choked to death on Froot Loops when Eddie said, good day, mate. That's P1 Talon. And this text message says, what did Mikey ever do with his personalized rock DJ license plates? That's P1 Nikita. Yeah, that's right. I think I had those too. I actually had those on my car. I'm not kidding you. A week. About a week. Oh, yeah. Yeah, it was easily the stupidest personalized plate ever. Shannon Leder, who is a DJ here, took one look at it, laughed hysterically, and I went back to the old plates. So how was it spelled out? It was like, what did it say? Awesome. I love this. It didn't just say rock DJ? I think it said something like that. That's awful. So where are they? Can I have them? Where are they? You had a VH5150 that you would put up. I don't know. You may have left it in Dallas. I wonder if I did. I don't know. I haven't seen that thing. I'll go through boxes. I'll see if I can find them. And if I can, you can hang them in your house. Hang them in your game room. Put them on my car.
Yeah, and then I'll rob a bank. So before we went to break, I said that in Missouri, there's a high school dealing with an HIV scare. What's the deal? Well, unfortunately, they're not giving very many details, but the school that has about 1,300 students at it, I guess someone in the town tested positive for HIV. And, you know, they ask you, you know, have you had any contact or is there anybody that you think you should notify because they may potentially be exposed? And this person told health officials that as many as 50 teenagers from that school may have been exposed. So they're not giving details who the person was. how the people might have been exposed. They're not saying anything, but this school has set up six testing stations now in their gym, and you go in there, and six, and you get your blood drawn for HIV testing, the whole school. And they're saying now, like, other sports teams don't want to play this school.
Girls who have boyfriends at other schools are getting dumped for the prom because they don't want to go out with somebody who potentially may have HIV. Like it's causing this whole ripple effect through the community. Kids want to transfer schools. So, yeah, that's crazy. That is a concept that is talked about in a book called The Tipping Point, which is really it's a marketing book. It's a book about marketing. And it's a book about. what takes a product from being like, eh, whatever, to the biggest fad in the world. You know, for instance, there was not a time when chicks were wearing the big, giant, what's her name, Kennedy, Jackie Kennedy giant sunglasses. Yeah, the Onassis sunglasses. There was a time when that didn't happen. But what happens is that somebody very influential does it. And it may not even have to be somebody in the media. Somebody very influential does it, and then it kind of spreads. And there comes this point that they call the tipping point where it goes from being kind of spreading a little bit to spreading like wildfire. And they were talking about it in the book in terms of, you know, the hush puppy shoes and that style of, you know, hush puppies, the style. Rob, just Google images, hush puppies, and you'll go, oh, yeah, that's what those are called.
Yeah, and that's what it is. Hush puppies. Well, they were big and popular back in the 70s. You see them around now even in different colors, different, you know, styles of hush puppies. Okay, well, it had gone away. It was nerdy. Like everything else is a fad. It goes away. And during the 80s, if you were hush puppies, you would have been the biggest dork on the planet. You know what I'm talking about? Simi and I am. I got a pair of these at home. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, no, no. Well, listen, Rob, you got to understand. Check it out. They're back and they're cool. Like now they're cool. But in the 70s is when they actually originally came out. What happened was they were selling a pair of them like in a Salvation Army in Manhattan. There was one guy who was extremely cool, who was a trendsetter and a fashion setter and extraordinarily influential. He bought a pair. And that... got other people in Manhattan to start buying pears. And one of the people was a fashion designer in Manhattan. And that person, you see how it began. Same thing happened in Baltimore with syphilis. They were looking at the CDC, the branch of our government that watches disease, the Center for Disease Control. They're looking at...
The whole United States, like a map, and they can map colds, flus, every single thing that you can possibly think of. Looking at a map of syphilis, it's like the whole country is one color and Baltimore is red. It's like blowing up with syphilis. So they got like one cool guy to get it. Dude, seriously, that's exactly what happened. One guy got it that was extremely influential and was having sex with a lot of people and it went, it blew up. And so when you hear that there's a school in Missouri, when they trace it back to this original kid, it probably wasn't a nerd that wasn't having sex. It was probably some guy that was very influential or girl. They don't say, right? Some guy or some girl that was very influential. And it hit the tipping point. 50 students potentially exposed to HIV at this high school in Missouri. That's crazy. We'll follow it. Yeah. 5701053 is our phone number. Our text number is 35253. 35253. Would you like to play a little village idiom? Yeah. Oh, yeah. Ashley is in what you'd call the sharpest bobbin.
The idea here is... The idea here is that we're going to give... I'm just going to give some words or some phrases to Ashley. The best example is as the crow flies. Is she okay? She's stretching. She likes to stretch it out. Yeah. That's good. She's actually stretching her brain right now. There it goes. Now, Eddie, do we actually, is this a game that we, is this a game or like do people win? Yeah, you call and either agree or disagree with Ashley. So, yeah, you're either going to say yep.
That's what that is, or nope, that's not what that is, and you win a prize. And what prize do we have? We have tickets to go see Hinder. Oh. All right. Who's playing, I believe it. Do you know what that was? I don't, actually. You don't know what that... What? I thought the guy from Hinder was in here for a second. That's one of the popular Hinder songs. Yeah, it's Lips Like an Angel, right? Well said. It's great. They're playing at fourth and B, and they'll sound a little bit better than that. They just played. It was really good. Ladies and gentlemen, Hall of Famer P1 Sanjaya is on the line. My boy. What's up? Sanjaya, you realize that you must give us a good morning, San Diego, every time you're on the radio. I'm trying to, like, you know. Give it to me. No, dude, it's not going away. It's never going away. Do you think you're better than that now that you're a Hall of Famer? Hello. I know, I know. All right, all right. Good morning, San Diego. There it is.
There it is. Thank you. There it is. It's gorgeous. You guys can't go through your day without it, huh? No. No, we cannot. It's my ringtone. All right, let's play the village idiom. I'm going to give Ashley an idiom, and then she's going to tell us what she thinks it is. You either agree or disagree, Sanjaya. Break it down, Ashley. Are you ready, Ash? Yeah. Your idiom is, cut off your nose to spite your face. Wow. Uh-oh, she is squinting. She's clutching the bridge of her nose. Cut off your nose to spite your face. That's right. What is that? It's referring to your face. It's basically saying, like, oh, you think you're really great. Like, okay, listen, you're a little cocky. Why don't you cut off your nose and then see how you like it?
Jeez. You're a little cocky, so why don't you cut that nose off and let's see how great you are. You done or? Now, is that, that's it? Basically, cut off your nose to humble you. Cut off your nose to humble you. Well, that was the reason. For being. Too cocky. For being too cocky. Which is causing spite. Yeah. Big time. Yeah. Let's see. P1 Sanjaya, is that correct or incorrect? I don't think so. You do not think so? It's incorrect. You are correct. Too bad. It seemed like it was right. Well thought out. Yeah, Ashley, she has a look of concern. It's a look like concern. I don't know about that, though. Why don't you guys check it out again? What cut off your nose to spite your face is that you make a problem worse for yourself. You're making a problem worse for yourself. You're cutting off your nose to spite your face. So you're digging your own hole. You're burying yourself in your own grave. You're digging your own grave. Well, you're definitely... Dicking yourself when you're down. Can she stop? I'm trying to...
It's like, oh, I got a problem with my nose. I'm going to cut it off. And then you go, oh, what did I do to my whole face? Yeah. Oh, I just ruined my whole face. I only had this tiny problem, but now it's a big problem. You've made it something giant by trying to solve something smaller in your life. You've made a big, gigantic problem. You cut off your nose to spite your face. You don't have a nose to smell your armpits. That's true. That's it. Basically, don't pop your pimple. Is what you're saying. You know what? Actually, if it makes the pimple look horrible, worse than it was, absolutely. Yeah, why not even make it look worse? That's right. Hang on, Sanjay. Hey, Sanjay is going to be with us later today, by the way. Are you going to be in here? Is it just going to be? Yeah, just the girls. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's sending down the girls of what? The Hidden City Derby Girls. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Awesome! Sanjaya's girlfriend is in the Hidden City Derby Girls. They were trying to recruit Sky. Yeah. And they're like... Yeah, they're a chick derby league. So, yeah, I'm going to let them come in and tell us, you know, what they do and where they're doing it. Awesome! There's a lot of P1s on that team. Right on. Thanks. Hang on, Sanjaya.
Love you. That's a love. Yeah, I love your show. P1 Cody's on the line. Cody, are you there? Yeah, I'm here, Mikey. You ready to do this? Let's do it. All right, I'm going to ask Ash what this is. It's an idiom, and you've got to tell me if she's right or wrong. You ready? I'm ready. Ashley, cut the mustard. What? Cut the mustard. Oh, man, that's a confused. She's like, wait a minute, that can't be it. You can't cut mustard. Do you mean cut the cheese? Cut the mustard? Yes. My favorite part is when she looks at Skye. I know. I wish I could help her. She looks at Skye like, hey, nice line. Hello. Okay. I think I can figure this one out. All right. Cut the mustard. Like, okay, well, you can't cut mustard because it's soluble. So what you're going to want, basically, it's like, oh, cut the mustard. It's like, go for something that you don't think that you can do, but go for it anyways. Mm-hmm.
Like, how would you say that to someone? How would you put that in a... How would you, like, apply it? You'd say, you know, tell me how you would do it. It'd be like if Rob was like, oh, like, I want to go for this, like, you know, modeling career, but I don't know that I'm tall enough. What do I do? I would be like, listen, Rob, I know it sounds impossible, but just cut the mustard. Just go for the audition and just see what happens. Get it done and see where it takes you. Right. Let's see. Cody, do you agree or disagree? I am going to have to agree to disagree. Why? You will agree to disagree on that one. You have just won. You have just won. Easiest game to win. Easiest game to win. Actually, cutting the mustard. Cutting the mustard is basically, actually, it's getting the job done. It's proving that you're equal to the challenge. It means you can cut the mustard. Let me tell you the beauty. Let me tell you the beauty of the village idiom. As if it isn't already gorgeous enough. Gorgeous enough. The beauty of the village idiom was that we observed over a very long period of time, years, that Ashley, she's actually heard a ton of idioms. Yes. But she applies them in a very unique way. Say that again. She's heard them. Oh, yeah. You know what I mean? But she applies them.
In a very unique way. P1 Ponce. Morning, guys. How are you? I'm very excited to win this morning. Guaranteed, bro. You know what to do. Listen, you are making an assumption, bro. You have no idea. That's right. Ashley may know this. I'm so over this. Already? Yeah, big time over this. Big time. Challenge, guys. All right, here we go. Ashley, the idiom is every cloud has a silver lining. Oh, you got this one. I've heard this. She knows this. She's heard this. Come on now. It's not a song. It's not a song. Why is she singing? Helps. Okay. Snapping. Not snapping with rhythm, but snapping. Right. Randomly snapping. Randomly snapping, yes. Sing the best for last.
This is easy. Basically, it's like, oh, it's a cloud and that sucks, but there is a silver lining. So it's like, even though, okay, it might seem like it sucks, there is a brighter day for you, basically. Weird way to... You know what I'm saying. I kind of don't. Sky. Yeah. She got it, right? I mean... Well, we don't know. We have to have the listener... Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Sorry. Ponce, agree or disagree? She kind of... Yeah, she kind of did get it right. I think she got it right. I think she got it right. I mean, Eddie's right. That was a strange way. I mean, you have to speak Ashley to understand it, but in Ashley, that is correct. She got the spirit of it. She got the spirit of it for sure. Wow. I'm really proud of her. She got one. Ponce, hang on. Gotta do one more. Gotta do one more. Thank you. Thank you guys all so much.
It's really an honor. P1 Harold. Hey, how's it going? Pretty good. Are you ready to play? Yeah. Hey, good job, Ashley. Is that the first one? I think that may be the first one she's got. Yeah, kind of. I like it. Awesome. I like it. Ash, you ready? Yeah. This is going to be great. Oh, gosh. Ash, the idiom is eyes are bigger than your stomach. This is easy, too. Yeah. Eyes are bigger than your stomach because, guess what, buddy? Guess what, buddy? You don't have to talk directly to anybody. You're acting like you can own the world. Your eyes are bigger than your stomach. What? You're acting like you own the world. Your eyes are bigger than your stomach. You can do whatever. You're acting like you can buy, you know, the world. You can't. Your eyes are bigger than your stomach. Use it in a sentence. You can't. Tell me. Paint it out with Rob again. Go, buddy. Yeah. Here we go. Come on. Yeah. Rob, I know that you...
want to buy a yacht. Uh-huh. But your eyes are bigger than your stomach, bro, because you can't afford a yacht no matter how many credit cards you know you apply for. Period. Now, let's ask P1 Harold. P1 Harold. She was way off. She was way off. I was nuts. Ashley, that is incorrect. Eyes are bigger than your stomach. Now, I want to ask you guys. Yeah. Is your definition of eyes bigger than your stomach that you see a plate and you believe that you can eat it, but once you start eating it, you realize, I couldn't do it. Way too much food. You order too much food because you think you can eat it all, but you can't even come close to it. What about life, Eddie? Your eyes are bigger than your stomach. What about when you eat life? Oh, gosh. That doesn't make any sense. I eat that and it works. Harold, you are a winner. Yes.
Hang on the line. Sorry I don't like these idioms because it's like, you know. They're so like vague, right? They're so vague. There's no rules or regulations. It's like, you know, that idiom could apply to life in the way that it did. If I say so, it can. It's just so as the crow flies. It really is. It really is. Wishy-washy. They're absolutely not true, says California's superintendent of public schools. Prop 8 has nothing to do with schools or kids. Our schools aren't required to teach anything about marriage, says our school superintendent. And using kids to lie about that is shameful. What Prop 8 is really about is eliminating fundamental rights. The League of Women Voters calls it a major threat to our basic constitutional rights. That's why California teachers say no on 8. Paris Hilton says one of her biggest fears is going into space and not being able to make her way back. What? Come on, though. What's up? I can top that. Wait. No, there's no way, dude. How do you even say anything after that? What do you got, bro? Chad Ochocinco, he is going to keep Johnson on his jersey for the rest of the season to not cause any waves.
Still doesn't hold a candle to Paris Hilton going into space. Sorry. And she's worried she might not come back. Sorry. That is a big fear. Wow. That's a real story. Yeah. Now, she is going to be, she's on the list to be one of the first celebrity passengers on Richard Branson's first Virgin Enterprise space flight next year. So, when asked about it. What if I don't come back? She says, this is her quote. I'll literally be lost in space. You want to hear her exact quote when asked about it? Quote, I'm very scared to do it. What if I don't come back? With the whole light years thing, what if I come back 10,000 years later and everyone I know is dead? I'd be like, great. Now I have to start all over. Oh, man. Wow. Come on. How did she get a driver's license? I don't know. Her and my wife are very different, too. Yeah.
Wow. Yeah. That is crazy. Who knew? That's a fantastic quote. Thank you, Paris. Thank you, Paris. For brightening my day. Obviously. Hey, by the way, call us right now. If you are freaked out about something this weekend, you're going to meet a chick this weekend that you've never met. You're going to propose. You're going to ask somebody's dad if you can marry them. You have to break up with somebody and you're worried they're going to freak out. You have to tell your boss about something. You have to, what is it that you have going on? Maybe a meeting with somebody that you haven't seen for a long time. You're nervous. Maybe it could be anything. It doesn't have to be something bad. It could be something good. It could be anything. It could be bad. It could be good. It could be anything. But what have you got going on this weekend that has you a little freaked out and you're just not sure how it's going to go? We want to talk to you. 570-1053. You can text me, too. Let's see. Question for the Oracle. Eddie, why didn't you go with the Bolts to London? That's P1 Art. Eddie? That's a great question.
He's definitely afraid of kangaroos. Yes. That's right. He might get hit in the head with a boomerang. Yeah, you don't want that. Irrational fear of aborigines. Okay. Well, you know. All right, Ashley finally got to the end of those. Okay, so I thought it was Australia. Okay. Can we just all settle in with that and move on? Can we just move on from that? Well, we work for a very small mom and pop organization. That is true. So, you know, they don't have those type of funds to send us. That is true. Somewhere like that. Yeah. Well, we're just trying. We here at Clear Channel are just trying to make a dollar, earn an honest wage. That's right. Scraping by. That's right. P1 Raymond wrote in and said, Mikey. Has Ashley ever had a head injury? Now that's a question. That is a question. That is a question that I could deem as being sarcastic. I think that there was sarcasm in that question. That is a far out question. I did accidentally step on a rocking chair thingy and it knocked me in the head. And I got a stitch when I was like five. Some irony up in here.
She stepped on a rocking chair thingy. Knocked me right in the head. You've done that before. That cartoon rake where she keeps stepping on the rake. Yeah, it's pretty much just like that. That's right. All right, so let's talk to a couple of people that are hanging out. P1 Ms. Kaz, are you there? Good morning. How are you? Nervous. What do you got? Tomorrow is Pitbull Awareness Day. And I've been volunteering with an awareness or with a rescue organization. And I have an awareness group. And I really wanted to bring my dog. But she gets really, really excited around other dogs. And they told me, you know, just bring her anyway and see how she does. But I'm just so nervous that she's just going to be crazy. having it be an awareness day. I don't want people to see my dog being, you know, uncontrollable because that doesn't look good for the breed. So I'm just really nervous. She's not going to be able to control herself. Now, is the whole thing about pit bulls? Yeah, it's actually the second annual. There's a lady, I forgot where she's from. Some lady started it last year and it's basically nationwide. And it sounds like her dog is going to do the exact opposite of what they're trying to achieve.
That's kind of what I'm nervous about. And it's not an aggression thing. It's that she gets so excited around other dogs because she wants to play. Sammy's the same way. She is. So, wow. I would rethink that. Well, yeah. I got to talk to you on Monday. We got to talk to you on Monday and see. What's your pit bull's name? Bailey. Bailey. All right. We'll talk to you on Monday. A pit bull attack. Oh, no. It was supposed to be a wonderful day. Irony up in here. We got some irony up in here. I'll just have to bring her home if she can't behave. Well, Ms. Kaz, we're going to put you on hold, and we're going to get your info so that we can find out what happened on Monday, all right? Can you hang on? All right. Hang on. Let's see. Wow, that's crazy. Let's talk to P1 Jason. Jason, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. What's going on with you? Hey, Mikey, man. I'm freaked out for a couple reasons. Hell, I'm nervous just thinking about it right now. My sister's coming in from Afghanistan, who I haven't seen for about a year. And I absolutely miss her. I'm so excited to see her. The thing is, I could see my ex-girlfriend this weekend, who's coming in on the same day when my sister gets here. And I just want to say I'm absolutely in love with her, and I don't know what to do.
And I want her back. Some guys stole her from me. And I'm nervous. I'm lost right now without her. Okay, so wait a second. Your sister is in the military. Yes. And she's coming home from Afghanistan. That's correct. You haven't seen her in how long? Almost a year. Almost a year. Well, it's right before a year, actually. And then you also have your ex-girlfriend coming to town? Yeah, she's going to, she lives. She lives in the same area, but she's going to be coming over to visit as well. And you guys are friends right now. Yeah. Does she have a boyfriend? She's seen some firefighter guy as far as I know, and I don't know if there's anything going on there. I asked her. I wrote her a couple of blogs. I wrote a couple of blogs on MySpace, and I don't know if she's going to respond at all, dude. So you don't know if she actually has a boyfriend. You just know that there's something, something with an ex with her. Or with a firefighter or something. Yeah, exactly. Sky has a question. Well, you said that some dude stole her from you. Is that the firefighter? Yes. Okay, so it kind of sounds like something must be going on if he stole her. Ashley has a question, too. How long ago did you two break up, and did you break it off, or did she? She broke it up with me, then two days later called me back, told me she stepped down from a terrible position that she was in, and we were working things out for about a week.
And then this firefighter guy stepped in. And how long ago was that? Actually, about a week and a half ago, almost a week ago. Would you like to know what I think about this? Sure, absolutely. I just have to get a couple of facts really straight before I tell you what I think. Sure. But when she broke up with you, how old are you? I'm 27. How old is she? 23. How long had you been dating? A year and a half, almost close to two years. Do you guys live in the same town? No, she lives in Poway. I live in Escondido. How did you meet? She works for a haircutting store, and I went over and got my haircut from her, and I asked her, you know, I started talking to her, and we exchanged information, and I got her phone number, and we went on from there. And you guys went on a couple of dates, you hit it off, and so she became your girlfriend.
Yeah, and she was absolutely, she reciprocated the feelings, everything. No other girl has ever done that for me. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So she reciprocated and you guys kind of fell in love, right? Right. And she became your girlfriend. Right. And you live in Escondido. She lives in Poway. Right. And everything seemed to be going well for that year and a half? Yeah, she was in a management position. She was a junior manager. She had no idea really what was going on. So she didn't have really people to turn to ask for questions, ask for help. And she would come home and she would continuously talk about it, but not seek help. Did you guys live together? If you want to say seeing each other, staying over four or five nights out of the week in my place, yeah. Okay, so you didn't officially live with each other, but she'd stay over, that kind of deal. Yeah. Okay, and you said that she is 23 right now? Yes. So when you met her, was she 21? 22, yeah. Because you dated for a year and a half. That's right, yeah, 21. So when you met her, she was 21. And you were 25, 26? That's correct. Uh-huh. All right, I'm just making some mental notes. And so then, after about a year and a half, right? Yeah. She said to you, I'm breaking up with you.
Is that how it happened, or how did she break up with you? She asked, and the whole time that we were together, I didn't have a phone, so she had a hard time getting a hold of me. I got a phone. Why didn't you have a phone? Because I didn't care for phones. I didn't care for cell phones. You could afford one or no? Yeah, I could afford one. But you didn't want one. You didn't like the idea of cell phones. No, I didn't. And she wanted you to get one? Yeah. And all you had was a home phone? Right. What do you do for a living? I'm a meat cutter. All right. And so you finally decided, hey, man, I'm going to get this phone. You got the phone. And then what happened? I start putting people's names in there, my friends' names. And there was a couple other girls that are also my friends. They're not girlfriends. They're not interests at all. She went through my phone and she saw a name in there she didn't recognize and she blew up. And did she? Okay. Okay. Okay. Why do you suppose that she went through that phone? I mean. Had she showed you any signs of being jealous or that kind of deal? Yeah, she did. Okay. And so then what? That's when she broke it off with me. That's when she broke it off with you? Yeah. She got upset that she found a girl's name that she didn't know. Yep. And she broke it off with you? That's right. Is she a MySpace person? Yes, she is. And you're a MySpace person? It's weird. MySpace...
It seems like you would be amongst the cell phone user, MySpace user, but you're not a phone user, but that's all right. I'm a different breed, Mikey. For sure. Okay, so anyway, you got this new cell phone. You put the names in there. There's a girl in there that's a friend of yours, and you gave her the explanation that, hey, this is a friend of mine, but she wasn't having it. And so she broke it off with you. Right. And the reason that she did was she said, hey, listen, I don't trust you. Right. Okay. Even though you had you given her any reason to not trust her? Had you to not trust you? Had you cheated or anything? Admittedly, a long time ago, I did. I kissed another girl. Yeah. Yeah. OK. During the year and a half that you guys were together. Yeah. And that was in the beginning. Right. It's in the beginning. You you you guys were dating. You were newly dating. How far into the relationship? About three months, I think. About three months into dating. You. How did that happen?
We were just at a bonfire with some friends, and this girl was coming on to me pretty strong, and somehow or another I was sneaky about it, and I got the girl's number later on, and a friend of mine wanted to meet this girl as well. So we invited her over to my place along with my girlfriend, and somehow or another I kissed. That's the crow flies. Yeah. Big time. I can hear the crow flying in the background. By the way, somehow or another I kissed. Hey, listen, he's being honest, and so we've got to give him a little... No, I appreciate that. It's just the wording is funny. Yeah, yeah. Okay, now, so you didn't kiss her the night that you met her at the bonfire. You kissed her later when she was at your place. Yeah. And was your girlfriend there at the time? No, no, she wasn't. Had she left or what? She never was. She was never there at all. Okay, so who was there? My friend.
uh, this girl that I kissed and that was it. Okay. And did the friend leave? Uh, the friend was, uh, God, I don't remember actually. Yeah. Like where, I mean, you're not kissing in front of the friend, are you? That's kind of weird. No. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So the friend, I don't think, no, he wasn't there. I think he did leave. Okay. So he, he left and you're there with a girl and, and, uh, were you drinking? No. Was she drinking? No. So there was no drinking going on. You guys were just a little horny or whatever. It was a kiss fight. Okay, it was a kiss fight. You got in a kiss fight. And that's not cheating. Okay, so... It's fighting. So you... So he's, hey, I got in a brawl. Yeah. So you guys kissed. And what happened? Did you have a guilty conscience and you told her? No, that's when the girlfriend came over. She knocked on the door and had a key to my place and walked in. So she walked in. Hello. She walked in. She walked in while... There was nothing going on when she walked in? Before she walked in, we got done kissing. Okay. And then she walked in, and what happened? That's when she blew up, and she was just like, you told me you love me, and this and that, and how could you do this to me? Now, wait a minute. Now, she is blowing up, and she's going through all this, even though...
you were sitting there with the girl. You weren't actually kissing at that time. But this is the same girl that was flirting with him at the bonfire. And she was at the bonfire. Yeah, and so I guess that it was just enough that she walked in and he was sitting there by himself with her. Had you told her that you were doing something else that night? No, I told her I was going to be staying home. Well, yeah, I did. I told her I was going to be staying home by myself. Right. And so when she came over and there was a girl there, sure. You're busted, buddy. Okay, and so let me ask. How did you get her to stay with you? I promised her I would never, ever do it again. And I kept my word on that. Kept your word on that. And so Eddie has a question. What are the circumstances of why you're seeing her this weekend? Yeah. Bingo. Oh, no, no, no. Wait, wait, wait. Before we get there, I got to move. I'm trying to build. I got to. Yeah, we'll get there. Well, OK, that's a fair question. But I want to I'm just trying to get all the history. I want to build up to that point. And if I know that right now.
It's out of sequence and my brain has to get it in sequence. Right. Eddie's giving me the break signal. Can you hang with me? Sure, I can. Hang on the line. All right. I love this stuff. Really interesting to me. Really interesting to me. We got to keep him on the line, Seth, so don't let him go. I want to talk to him more when we get back after this. What's a P1? We're doing something called Weekend Worry Award. The idea is you got something kind of creeping you out this weekend going on, something that's causing you some anxiety, something going on that you're like, oh, man, I don't know how this is going to turn out. You call us, 570-1053. We were talking to P1 Jason before we went to break. You there, Jason? Yeah, I'm here. Okay, now let me update you. Jason's 27. His girlfriend is 23. They were dating for a year and a half. Early on in the relationship, he messed around with another girl. She knows about it. She was very mistrustful. She didn't trust. And he got her back. He told her, listen, I'll never do it again. How long did it take to get her back? It took probably a good three hard weeks. Two, three hard weeks. But after about two or three weeks, she relented. She came back to you. How had things been? Did they go back to normal? Kind of, sort of. She was definitely more questioning. She was questioning everything I was doing. And I totally understand on that part. She was a bit more jealous. She was a little bit more angry with me. So, okay. And so now let's fast forward.
She breaks up with you. And the reason that she breaks up with you is she checks your cell phone because she doesn't trust you. She checks your cell phone. And in your cell phone, she finds the name of a girl that she doesn't recognize. And now, how did she make the leap from her not recognizing the name to impropriety? No idea. Well, what did she say? Yeah, it was such an early morning, too. I was in the shower, and she came in, and she started slamming cabinets around and moving stuff around. And I said, what are you doing? I'm packing my stuff. I'm going. And then I asked her, why? Well, I'm sorry I went through your cell phone, but I saw a girl's name in there, Colleen, and something's going on. I said, there's nothing going on. Did she see the name Colleen as a received or placed call?
No, as a contact in my phone number. As a contact? Yeah, as a contact, my contact book. Had you also called her or received a call from her that she saw? No, not in that week. Had you received it? Not that week. Okay, had you received a text message from Colleen? No, not in that week, no. Had you texted Colleen? Before, yeah, I have. And did she see, did she check your history and she saw that you had texted her? No. No, she just went through the contact name. Got it. The contact name. Just want to be sure. Okay, okay. And so she is kind of being unreasonable. She says, hey, I don't care. I don't believe it. I think something's up. She breaks up with you. And you said about two weeks later she meets a fireman. Yeah. Now, how do you know she meets a fireman? She tells me. She tells you. And so I'm going to assume from that that you guys stayed in contact. How often were you talking between those two weeks after she broke up with you? We were having sex in that two weeks. So you were sleeping with one another. She broke up with you. She broke up with you, but you guys were sleeping with one another. Right. How did she reconcile that? How did she say, you know, how did she reconcile that? She said she doesn't know. She doesn't know what happened. She wants to work things. She doesn't know.
So you're trying to get her back. She says, I don't know. And she's not agreeing to getting back with you. She's playing the I'm confused card. She's confused. Okay. But she is still physically attracted. And so you guys are sleeping with one another for a couple of weeks. It was for about a week, yeah. After we broke up and after she stepped down from her management position, everything seemed to get better. Okay. Certification of feelings on my end towards her was getting better. My respect towards her was getting better. It was just, everything was better. During that week? Yeah. And she, okay, so just to kind of give people a real firm idea of what happened, she goes to his contacts, finds a girl's number, says, who's Colleen? I don't know who Colleen is. I think you're cheating on me. He says, no, I'm not. Yes, you are. It's over. And he tries to get her back. And over the course of that week, during that week, she steps down from a management position. Her stress level comes down. Yep. You're trying to convince her to come back. Yep. She's very confused. Yep. Sleeping with you. Right. And in your opinion, things are looking on the up and up. Then what happened? Until the firefighter came along. Okay. And what happened when the firefighter came in? That was in week two. Yep.
Okay, and how does she tell you about said firefighter? I saw her Saturday night. I went and picked her up from work and was taking her home. And that's when she had told me some guy came in. It was kind of a nonchalant kind of deal, like, oh, this is how my day went. And talking about how this guy came in and got his hair cut and then called back later and said, hey, you messed up my hair. Can I get a refund or something? And he's like, oh, I'm joking. Hey, I just wanted to get your number. I wanted to call back and get your number. And she tells you I gave him my number? Yeah. Okay, and how do you respond to it? Yeah. I said, well, I said, okay. I kind of blew it off as like, well, she's just trying to be friends, you know, expand her friend network or whatever it is. Okay. I was kind of, I was fine with it. And you're still in the, you're sort of still in the mindset of, well, I'm still trying to, you know, get my girlfriend back. Yep. Okay, yeah, I'm still, she broke up with me irrationally. I'm still hoping that she'll come back. Right. Okay, and how long ago was this? The breakup? Yep. About three and a half, almost call it four weeks ago. Three and a half, four weeks ago. Yeah. Hey, Eddie, you had a question at one point, and I don't remember what it was. Do you remember what it was? Well, I asked them the thing about, you know, what's the circumstances of them meeting up this weekend. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, so now I'm ready to get to that.
So about three and a half, four weeks ago. Oh, well, wait. What happened between those three and a half, four weeks? What's been going on? Well, we got up to week two when she met the firefighter. So now we're only one week behind. So now we're only a week behind. Yeah. Okay, so week two. And so, yeah. So then what? So she's been intermittently in contact with me. And I've been writing a couple of blogs on my MySpace page and just trying to throw it out to people. Hey, look, you know, I love you. I miss you. I want you back. How about her? What are you getting from her MySpace page? Nothing. Nothing. Nothing about the new guy, nothing about you? No. I've gotten a couple of text messages from her telling me that she's been on my MySpace page reading it. And I asked her how many times. She says quite a few. So she's playing it very close to the vest, as they say. Yeah. And she is seeing this guy. And has she given you any details about this guy that she just met? Three weeks ago. Well, just two weeks ago now. Two weeks ago. I've told her, no, I don't care. The only thing I care about is that you're with me. Why did you say that this guy stole her away from you? If you say that, that implies that you feel that they are romantically involved. But right now what you just said was, I don't care if she's friends with them. I just want her with me. Because in the beginning when she was telling me that when she met this guy...
The conversation kind of went like this. She was saying, I'm still working it out with my ex. His reply was, well, he's still your ex, right? And she's like, okay. So from there on out, I don't know if they're having a romantic relationship. Me personally, I don't care. I just want her back. That's all I care about. And I've told her, I've expressed that to her. I don't know how to word that. How does she feel about the firefighter guy? I don't know. She says she wants to see how things work. How long has it been since you've seen her? Going on two weeks, two hard weeks. It sounded like you were seeing her. You know, that first week you guys were talking, you were sleeping together. Yeah. And then you're giving her a ride home on a Saturday night. She tells you about this firefighter and then you don't see her anymore. Was that by a like...
spoken thing or all of a sudden you just stopped seeing it? I mean, you're having sex, you're having sex, and then boom, you're not. What happened? It was definitely more spoken. It was on her part. She asked her, you know, I need my space. I need to focus on me right now. Okay. Now, I'm just going to tell you from an instinctual point of view. Yeah. And I think that a lot of people would probably agree with this, that instinctually that says, hey, listen, I want to hang out with a firefighter. Yep, exactly. And so I see where you're why your mind would be there. You're you're thinking, OK, she's seeing this firefighter. And so now let's get to Eddie's question, which is how did this happen that you guys are going to be seeing each other this weekend? And what are the circumstances like? How how did it come up? And what are the circumstances? What are you doing? Long time back when when we knew my sister was coming out, we planned vacation together. So next week we go on vacation at the same time. I had invited her a long time ago to come to dinner with my family on Sunday when my sister comes into town. I also invited her to go to Disneyland because my mom and my sister wanted to go to Disneyland, so we're all going to go. So that's how coming to dinner on Sunday came about. Well, and she's still in on those plans? You guys have reconfirmed those plans recently? Yeah, she just called me up on, what was it?
Monday or Wednesday, I can't remember. She called me up on lunch and asked after I told her that dinner is going to be on Sunday at 4. And then she called me up like a day later, two days later, and asked what time the dinner was to make sure it was still the time. So she initiated contact with you earlier in the week to ask, hey, what time is this thing going down? As if... nothing was, as if the events that were actually taking place, which is not communicating, not seeing one another, were not taking place. She's sort of acting like, hey, we're still on, right? And not dating another guy. Not dating another guy. Did you ask about him at that point? No. No, you're afraid to. You're afraid to. Hey, you're like, hey, I'm getting something here. I don't want to ruin it by prying. And so, she's going with you on Sunday, and the plan is... Hey, Mikey. Yeah. calling me, dude. That's a girl? Yep. Go answer it and ask her if we can talk to her, too, because I know that's why she's calling. Alright, hang on one second. Oh, Melissa. Actually, she should just hang up. Sorry, Melissa. Well, Melissa, if you're listening, call in and we'll talk to you, too. Yeah, this is very complicated, but at the same time...
Hey, Mikey, hang on one second. Here she comes. Okay. It's complicated, but at the same time, I'm kind of getting a big picture, you know? I'm getting a big picture. Oh, yeah. You know, with every little detail we get, the more it kind of seems to be like, okay, I see what you're doing here. I see what's happening. Yeah. Now, we may differ on this, but I think that she probably really is confused. She probably, this guy's hot. This fireman dude's hot. Please, he's a fireman. That's anonymous. Yeah, that and surfers. Hot. I'm just saying. Black guys. Yes, those three. Here's who's cute. No, we're talking about this. Surfers. Stop it. Firemen. Black guys. Now, you find a black dude that surfs. Okay. Fireman? And it's a volunteer fireman. Holy cow. Hello. It's called the lottery, Mike. It's called a trifecta. Holy grail. Yeah, it's a trifecta. Mikey. Yes. Okay, yeah. She'll come on too? She said she'll come on. She said if you call, she'll come on. All right, let me put you on hold and get her number, okay? Yeah. Hang on a minute. Go ahead and get the numbers up. Wowza. Yeah, I think that, yeah, the fireman is hot. I don't know why. Something in me suspects that the fireman...
was before she says, and that finding the number in the phone was just a good excuse. 100%. And she does love this guy, Jason. She does love him. Well, because when you're in a relationship for a long time, it's pretty common when you break up, you can't go cold turkey. You want that comfort, that familiarity around. She's really young, too. She's only 23. She's probably not ready to, you know, settle down with this guy. She's barely two years younger than me, you know, so. Oh, wait a second. You're 38, obviously. That is weird. All right, we get them both on. All right, let's see. Jason. Hey, Mikey. Hey, man. Hey, yeah, she was ready to settle down. She was ready to settle down? Yeah, she was. Oh. What does that mean? A lot of girls think that. I had actually given her a promise ring out in Memphis. I reluctantly turned it back. Did she just, wait a minute.
Did she just say to you, hey, you're forgetting a very important part of this story? Me? Yeah, I wanted to get some more information out there. Yeah, she must have. Maybe she reminded him. Hi, Melissa. Hi. You're 23. Yes. Okay. Now, did you hear the whole way that he described the story? Yeah, not all of it's true. Okay, tell me, give me your version. Well, that morning, he was in the shower. I looked through his phone because he's very secretive with his phone. And I found a miss called and a call back to Colleen the same day I called him. And I just thought that was weird. No, I called her the next day. She called me on a Saturday. Colleen had called me on a Friday. It doesn't matter. Right, right, right. Hang on, hang on, hang on. Time out, time out, time out, time out. Hold on, hold on. Time out. Because I don't want to get you guys fighting with each other. That is definitely not my purpose. I don't want to fight either. Yeah, if there's anything, I would love to see you guys reconcile. Unless it's a kiss fight. Okay, Robert. Robert. Now, when I asked you, Jason, if you had received or made any calls to her, you... In that week, no, I haven't. Yes, you did. I'm sorry. Wait a minute. Hang on. Hang on, Melissa. Here's the deal. It doesn't really matter if it was that day.
or that week or whatever. It doesn't really matter. I mean, in context of me asking you, I think that it matters and that I would have hoped that you would have said, well, I didn't call her, get a call from her that day, but Mike, that week, I did. She called on Friday. Yeah, that did happen. And, you know, you didn't say that, Jason. You made it, you know what I mean? Yeah. And so... The fact that you guys were calling each other, you and this girl, Colleen, you guys were calling one another. And I think that Melissa, rightfully so, first of all, she's trying to build trust with you again anyway. Then she finds a girl's name that she's never heard of. And you've called her and she's called you. Now, I'll tell you again, just from a guy's perspective, shenanigans. I'll call shenanigans right now. Listen, if I'm talking to someone, a girl, and I'm not going to say that you're messing around with this girl, Colleen. I'm not going to say that there's been anything that you've ever kissed her, that you've ever had sex with her, nothing. I won't say any of that. All I'm saying is that the people that are in my contacts on my phone, my wife most likely knows all those names.
called or talked to somebody, my wife knows about it or knows who it is. You know what I mean? Yeah. Now I'm married and everything. And so when you're married, it makes it a little bit more important that you're doing all that stuff and everything. But why did she not know who Colleen was? And who is Colleen? Yeah. Colleen is a customer that comes in every now and then. We chat. And that's the extent of it. Well, you told me that you're a meat cutter. Yeah. In order for you to have a customer that comes in while you're a meat cutter and you know her well enough to where you're going to have her phone number, she either offered you that phone number or you asked for that phone number. She offered. Okay. And maybe that's what you listen. I'm just going to tell you again from a guy's perspective. I don't know a lot of guys and I've never.
And I know I listen. I know some players, man. I've never known a dude where he's at work in the type of job that you do. And a girl comes in. She's like, hey, can I give you my number? It just doesn't. That's usually not a chick thing to say, hey, can I give you my number? Now, if a girl did say, hey, can I give you my number? The only reason that I would be taking said number if I have a girlfriend named Melissa. The only reason that I would be taking that number is if she would like to buy some meat on the side because I'm a meat cutter. Oh, hello. Oh, yeah. Maybe she did. Side meat. Yeah, here you go. Do you see where I'm getting at, Jason? Yeah, I see where you're going with that. Yeah, and I think Melissa did too, you know, because, you know, she's not stupid. So no matter what, this girl, Colleen, you were, there was something about Colleen. It wasn't, I'll tell you what it wasn't. Hey, my name's Colleen. It's fancy meeting you here at the meat counter. You cut a mean loin. You cut a mean loin. Yeah. I got to tell you, I got to tell you, I really love the way that you cut loin. Yeah. And I, you know what? It just so happens, I don't know about you, meat cutter guy, Jason, I don't know about you, but I'm really in the market for some new friends. Yeah. I'd really like to have some new friends. Yeah.
And so if you would like to have some friends too, I'd like to offer you my phone number. Talk about meat. Oh, but by the way, Jason, I just want to tell you as your new friend, because we've just, you know, realized that we're new friends. As your new friend, I advise you not to tell your girlfriend about me. Let her find out about me in your phone. Yeah, that's pretty shady. Yeah. Who wants man meat? Now, this is on the heels of her walking into the house a year and a half before, and you'd just been making out with the girl. And so that's admitted shenanigans, and this one is not admitted shenanigans, but it's clearly shenanigans. But you're not being honest about it. Yeah, yeah. So that makes you suspicious. Way more guilty because you're not being honest about it when it's something. No. So now what Melissa has to decide for herself is, am I am I willing to see him basically messing around on me twice? Am I willing to go, OK, I'll forgive and forget. I'll wait until it happens or I walk in again. Or or or I just really keep my fingers crossed. And I hope upon hope that a year and a half from now, when he's over the fact that he really had to win me back.
That he doesn't do it again. And that's what I'm trying to, that's what I want to tell her is I'm not going to do that again. I've learned my lesson a long time ago. But you did, it wasn't a long time ago. Wait a minute, Jason, it wasn't a long time ago. It was like two weeks ago. Two or three weeks ago, bro. Yeah, yeah, okay, okay. That's not that long ago. That's like two or three weeks ago. So you said, you just said, I learned my lesson. I learned my lesson a long time ago. But a long time ago is two to three weeks. Right. I should have been communicating with her about that. Well, you couldn't communicate with her about it. It was shady. You couldn't tell her, hey, you couldn't say to your girlfriend, hey, I'm kind of working on a thing on the side here. I wanted to let you know about it. Well, if it was legit and if it was the way he's saying it, he could be like, oh, yeah, this really nice customer. It was kind of weird. She was like, hey, here's my number. What? It was totally legit. No, it wasn't. Jason, it wasn't.
I painted that picture. What were they? I painted that picture of a girl coming into a meat cutter's place and you know that there is no way it's legit. There's no way it's legit. If I'm a meat cutter, there's no way that I'm meeting a girl that comes in there and she's giving me her phone number or that's the way it went down. It doesn't jive. None of it jives. There is no legit Colleen. And you made it extra non-legit by not sharing with her about this chick. Well, he solidified that it was not legit by not communicating it. Right. And I see that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So it was not legit the entire time. I would be willing to bet a lot of money Colleen has no idea about Melissa. Yeah, she does. Well, okay. Now, that one I don't find as hard to believe because I think to myself, well, some girls are shady. They don't really care. Go ahead, Ash. She's getting free chops. Yeah, free loin. That's what I was going to ask. I was going to say, what are Colleen's intentions, especially if she knows that you've got a girlfriend?
If I was Colleen and I knew you had a girlfriend, I don't know what my intentions would be. I wouldn't ask for your number. If I knew you had a girlfriend, I wouldn't ask for your number, bro. She probably didn't ask. He probably asked for hers. What are her intentions? Does she want a friendship? I don't understand what her intentions are. And that's the thing. There were no intentions on her part. She's a bartender. She just asked to come out to one of the bars and have a drink. And that was it. Wait, she's a bartender and she asked you to go to the bar and have a drink. Jason, come on. For real. Were you born yesterday? I mean, really? Man, dude. Come on, dude. No, you guys. I mean, I really thought that she was like a... That's a friend. No, no, no. Listen. I thought that her friend levels were really low. No. And I needed to rush her to the hospital and give her an IV of friend. And a booze. Yes. Look, that's the thing. I know I don't have a good track record here. I know I'm not reliable. And that's what I'm trying to prove that there's nothing going on. You're doing a bad job. That there was nothing going on. Well, nothing. This is as far as, I mean.
This is as far as I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt on. The only thing I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt on is that nothing had happened yet. You hadn't got that far yet. It definitely would because you were up to something. She didn't know about Colleen. You met Colleen at the meat counter. You don't get phone numbers of each other because you want to be frenzies. I mean, that's the dude. I mean, first of all, you're talking to a... addict, alcoholic. You're never going to lie to an addict, alcoholic. We smell it. We have a very, very, very keen sense of smell. Like a BS factor. A BS sensor. Sensor, thank you. And I'm telling you that, but it doesn't take, I'm just telling you that addicts definitely know how to lie because I was the lioness, skeevinist. Cheating the lioness, skeevin' this, cheatin' this, cheater, lioness, cheatin' this, skeevin' this. I don't know. I was trying to do some Beastie Boys there. It doesn't sound like this guy's having trouble with ladies. So, dude, if it doesn't work out, you know, you got all those other numbers. Yeah, he should just stay single. He should just be staying single. I'm just, hold on. I'm just looking at the other side. That's where I want to get into play about this promise ring. Okay, hang on. Hang on. Hang on. Hang on. I have to take a quick time out, but.
Let's talk about it. We'll take a quick break, and I'll come back. Melissa, can you hang on, too? I have to open my store at 9. Okay. Now, does that mean you've got to leave? No. I'm at work right now, but we have to open the doors at 9, and I'm by myself this morning. Okay. Let me let you work, and can we call you back if it's before 9? Well, I'm fine. I can just stay on hold. At 9, I'll have to hang on. Oh, okay. I got you. I got you. Okay, yeah. We'll be back in just a few minutes, okay? Okay. Hang on. And Jason, hang on, okay? All right. Hang on. That's a good one. Wow. Yeah. Be right back. Mikey. Great show, everybody. Great show. Old Navy presents Freaky Fun Day October 25th and 26th. We've got a minor delay left over here on the westbound 78 from a bad accident that really caused a major backup for a time. Pass right to Santa Feet Road, that's now out of the way, and things are starting to pick up some speed there. Heading south on the 5, not too bad at all here. You've got a brief delay near Birmingham Drive, and then you're on your way. Full speed jam, the water of Escondido, south 15. That's looking nice now, all the way down the entire stretch. Still going to find a heavy backup, though, on the westbound 52. Underneath the 805 and toward the 5 connector, there was an accident northbound 5 near Nobel. That's causing a major backup on that 52, trying to get onto the 5 and the 5 itself.
It's staying quite heavy coming into Mission Bay on up to that accident scene. No worries out of the South Bay, though. The 505 Northbound are up to speed, except for the 805 still pretty jammed up out of Kearney Mesa over to 52. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Just wanted to say thank you to Divine Pastabilities. Man, are they a good sandwich, man. Torpasta.com is their website.
They take delicious bread and they put pasta inside of it. Brilliant. And it's so clean. And in November? Dude, in November they're doing like a Thanksgiving sandwich that's going to have mashed potatoes and turkey and stuffing. Sounds so good. Dude, he told me that. I was like, I want a million of those. Thank you. Okay. So we were doing... Weekend Worry War. We were asking people, so what do you got going on this weekend that's making you nervous? And P1 Jason called in. You there, Jason? Yeah. Jason called in, and he kind of gave us a little background on his relationship with Melissa. Melissa, are you there? Yeah. Okay, now Melissa is a hairdresser, right, Melissa? Yes. And she met Jason doing that job. Jason's 27. Melissa's 23. They were dating for a year and a half. Three months into that year and a half relationship, Jason cheated on Melissa. She basically walked in and saw it, although they weren't in the act of kissing when she walked in. But he had told her he was going to be home alone, and here he is with a girl. They dated for a year and a half, and during that year and a half, she was very not skeptical. What's the word? Suspicious. Suspicious of him. And then recently, she went into his phone.
And she found a girl named Colleen in there. And she noticed that with his call history, he'd received and placed phone calls to Colleen. And Jason is a meat cutter. And he met her at work. And he says that she offered her phone number to him. And, of course, he took it because, you know, he just wanted to be friends. And he wanted to befriend her. Man, he failed to mention it to Melissa, and that was, that, he says, is what his mistake was. Yes. Now, what was supposed to happen is that they were supposed, a long time ago they'd made plans, before this all went down about three and a half weeks ago, Melissa and Jason had made plans to hang out with his family. His sister's coming home from Afghanistan, and him and...
Her and the parents and Melissa, they were all going to go together to eat. Is that right, Jason? You were going to go to eat? I was going to make dinner on Sunday. And that day, on Sunday during the day, you guys were going to go to Disneyland. No, actually later on in that week, probably like a Tuesday or Wednesday. Oh, I got you. Okay. And that was a plan. And you and Melissa, who is now your ex-girlfriend, she broke up with you. But when you guys were still dating, you guys had said, hey, we'll take vacation time. You take vacation time that week, I'll take vacation time that week, and we'll go to Disneyland. It'll be a good time. So she called you, Melissa called you earlier in the week, and she arranged for you to give her the plans. Like, hey, how's this going to go down? And she was still going to go with you. I'm not going to go to Disneyland. I told them I wasn't going to go. But you said that you would go to the dinner. I'd go to dinner because I wanted to see his sister because I'm still close to his sister. Okay, I got you. Okay, that's making more sense. In the meantime, Melissa has met someone herself. She met a guy that's a firefighter, right, Melissa? Yes. And that has Jason upset. In fact, Jason says the way that he described it is that that guy stole Melissa. But in light of the facts, I don't know that that's really the case. I don't know that he really stole Melissa.
And so, Melissa, we haven't heard from you. So where are you with everything? How do you feel? I know. I want to get to know the guy I'm seeing right now. He treats me with respect. It's only been about two weeks. And I will always have a place in my heart for Jason. But after everything I've been through, I can't be with him anymore. I just can't. And I want to be with the guy, the other guy. And I just, I need him to stop blasting it everywhere. I mean, like, it's our issue, and I don't think everybody needs to know our issue. I mean, I'm getting, like, phone calls and text messages from my family saying, like, what the heck's going on? You know, just hang up. Because he is talking about it on MySpace. Yeah, and he's, like, leaving notes on my car when I'm not home, when I'm out with my girlfriends, and then my little sister calls by herself.
She was freaking out. She called me, when are you going to be home? And he left three times, Jason. And I really like this guy. I really want to get to know him, and I want to see where it goes. And I didn't tell Jason for a reason, because he doesn't need to know. Aren't you kind of sending him? Some mixed signals by talking to him, being with him. Even though you want to see his sister going to a family dinner, like you're still giving him that inkling of hope that there's something there. But I told him I wasn't going to go to the dinner if it was going to give him hope of us getting back together because that's not going to happen. Oh, well, that's very straightforward. And he's the one who texted and called me first on, like, Saturday night. And I told him, and he's like, well, we still want you to go to dinner. Because I'm like, just tell your sister hi for me. I'm not going to go to the dinner. And he's like, well, my family and me want you to go to the dinner. I'm like, okay, I'll go to the dinner, but I'm not going to Disneyland. That's not going to happen. And I just called to confirm what time dinner was on Sunday. And that's the only thing I was going to do is go to dinner to see his family and his sister. And that was it. Yeah.
I don't necessarily think that's necessary. I think if you're friends with his sister, you could see his sister whenever you want to. Yeah, go get a cup of coffee or something. And to go to the dinner will probably, it's just that there's nothing positive in that. Well, I mean, you see what it created. I mean, the whole reason Jason called us in the first place is because he was having anxiety about this dinner because he didn't know how to behave so he could win her back. When it's very clear, she don't want to be won back. No. I got it. Yeah. All right, Jason. That was clear. You got it. You get it. Jason? Jason, you there? Yeah, I'm here. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He just said he got it. Oh, okay. So what will that mean for the future, Jason? What will that mean? What will getting it look like? Moving on. Okay. Does that mean that you're going to leave notes? Nope. Does that mean that you will call? I've done the whole new warrior training thing, and no. Okay. I don't know what that is. I don't either. But you won't? So you're not going to call her, you're not going to leave notes, and you're not going to MySpace about it. Okay. What do you think, Melissa? That's fine. I just need to get on with my life and I need to see what's going on with me and this one guy because I really do like him. Yeah. Now, I'm going to give you some advice, Melissa. Yes. I'm going to give you some advice. Yes. Don't call him, meaning Jason. Don't call Jason because you might want to. You know, you might want to.
Sometimes the heart does stuff. Don't call him. He just said that he's not going to call you and he's not going to text you. But let's just say if he does. Don't respond to it. And just let it be done. Just let it be done. I will tell you this. The person that I was before God came into my life, I was a liar and a cheater. and a manipulator, and a self-centered, completely self-absorbed person. And I had to have a drastic change for me. This is me. I had to have this drastic change where God came into my life and transformed me into something new so that I would not do stuff like that. There had to be a life-transforming event happen in my life.
Now, I'm going to be honest with you from just the pits of my guts. I'm going to be honest with you. In retrospect, I would have done it again. With my mouth, I would have said, hey, listen, this isn't who I am. This isn't what I did. Listen, we are what we thought we were. Heard that. You are who you are. And in terms of change, yeah, people get older. You get older. You mature and all that stuff. You do get older and mature. But, you know, when the guy's showing you twice in a year and a half what the deal is, you know, at this point, it's up to you of just like, okay, am I willing to have it happen, but maybe it'll happen like a year from now? That's the thing. I don't want that to happen. I believe you, dude. I believe that you don't. I believe that you don't. That's why I gave her a promise ring almost a year ago back in Memphis on a sunset on the Mississippi.
And I told her, she had asked me what this promise ring was for. I told her, it's to get married. Yeah, bro, but it wasn't, you didn't, hey. But I didn't know. Jason, you didn't, Jason. Yeah. You didn't promise to meet Colleen. I reluctantly took that ring back, knowing that she's having a hard time taking care of her own stuff with this management position. Wait, wait, wait, wait, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason. What is, what is, what is you and Colleen have to do with her and her management? You're putting it on her. Has nothing to do with her. It's all about you. This is stuff leading up to the breakup. No, it isn't. It doesn't matter what she did. I don't care. I don't care what she was doing. It doesn't, that doesn't, doesn't warrant. Did you hear about the Memphis sunset? I did not. Tell me about this. On the Mississippi. On the mighty Mississippi. You know it, baby. Yeah, it doesn't matter if she's stressed out at work or whatever. Your response isn't like, oh, you're going to be stressed out at work and give me a hard time? Well, guess what? Jason, you're grasping at straws, bro. And that's what I didn't know, and that's what I needed the help with. That's what you did. I didn't know how to go about that. Yeah. And that's what I'm saying. Two days after we broke up, she stepped down from her position.
I did it for a different reason, Jason. Oh, gosh. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. Wait, wait, wait. Melissa. Melissa. It doesn't matter. Listen, let me explain from the mouth of one of the greatest manipulators of all time. Let me tell you. In the Manipulator Hall of Fame, I got a place in there. All right? First ballot. They didn't have to wait two years to put me in the Manipulators Hall of Fame. I know how to manipulate. And here is the first rule of manipulation. Make it their problem. That is the first rule of manipulation. To make it your problem, Melissa. If only you. If only you. If only you. It has nothing to do with you. He's a cheater. He met Colleen and he met Colleen and did his thing. That doesn't have anything to do with your behavior, Melissa. Here is going to be the biggest challenge. This is going to be the biggest challenge, Melissa. I love her. I absolutely love her. I know you do. I believe that, by the way. I do. I believe that. I believe that the manipulator and the cheater and all that, they do. Listen, this is a problem that I think that he could solve. I believe he could really solve it if he gives it up and lets God solve it.
in his life but truthfully i believe that he can solve it he can become something different you know but until he does solve it he can't help it he is who he is he's you know he's got he he's he is who he is and even though he doesn't want to he loves her He doesn't want to. He can't help it. He can't help it. His urges make him do what he does. Yeah, and like you said, he can solve it, better himself, meet another girl. But unfortunately, when you have trust lost and multiple times have trust lost, it can never be the same as it was in the beginning. And if you're hoping for that, Jason, it never will be back there. Even if both of you want it that way, once the trust is gone, unfortunately, it's gone. Melissa. It's going to be really important for you when you're looking at a new guy to go, I don't want to get this guy again. Because it's very easy for women to do. They meet a new guy and they go, man, he's nothing like the other guy. He's nothing like the other guy. But they turn out to kind of sometimes be like the other guy. So it's going to be really important for you to make sure that you don't find the same guy. Are you there, Melissa?
Yeah, I am. I'm going to put you on hold. I'm going to put you on hold. And is it all right to get your email address? Yeah, it's fine. All right, hang on. Zeth. Zeth, can you get her email? Jason. Yeah, man. I wish, dude, I mean this so sincerely. I think that you. I'm willing to do anything for this girl. I really am. Bro, listen. No, no, no. That's going a little too far. I'm seeing a counselor on Monday. I'm getting myself help. Good. Yeah. It's good for you. It is. And that's what I was going to go with. That's what I was going to tell you, man. That's awesome. That's what I was going to tell you. That's already lined up. There are a lot of different ways that people will tell you that you can solve your problems. Here's mine. God. I know, man. God can change you. God can change you from the inside out. He took a complete and utter loser in me and transformed me into something different. Okay? Yeah.
That's my words to you. In terms of Melissa, I would say it's over. It's over. You got it now. Right now, that's not going to compute to you because you're just on full blast. I got to get her back, which is part of that is part of a guilty conscience. When you're guilty, you know it's your fault and you almost have to get him back because if you can't. You have to live with the fact that you're the one that lost them. And that is such muck and awfulness that you don't want to like sit in that stink for one second. I've been sitting in. I understand, dude. And I promise you, I'm going to pray for you. I'm going to pray for you. But I'm going to tell you, dude, that you do need to figure out why you're doing it. Why you're doing it? Why are you sabotaging relationships? And why also, why can't you stay committed to a woman? Why can't you? Because I had my heart broken a long time ago. Okay, I tell you what. You can go figure that out and get it all figured out. I'll tell you what. If you truly care about Melissa, you let her go, dude.
You know, honestly, it's kind of like going through somebody's house and knocking stuff over in their house. Don't knock any more stuff over. And I know you're saying, no, no, no, Mikey. I want to pick it all up and super glue it all back together and make it up. No, no, no, dude. Please don't. That's not the way to do it. Yeah. No, no, don't. Don't do it. Let her do her thing. She deserves that. Thank you for calling, Jason. I appreciate it. Thanks, Mikey. Thank you, brother. That kind of stuff is the most interesting stuff in the world to me. It's the most interesting stuff in the world. I'll tell you what. 570-1053. Now we got to do a drastic mood change. Let's bring the funny. We're going to bring the funk and bring the funny. I like the hooties, not the tooties. Back to the Mikey show on the rock. Rock 105.3. Welcome back. It's the Mikey show. It is 9-0-9. Police are suspicious of the story from a Pennsylvania woman who claimed she was attacked and had a bee carved into her face because she was a McCain supporter. World Series Game 2 went to the home team, Tampa Bay Rays. They beat Philadelphia 4-2. B.J. Upton talks about the Rays' victory. You know, we just beat off of each other. You know, we got a couple of, you know, big base hits. The walk early.
You know, got my knock, and then, you know, Carlos did the job, got the runner in, and Evan did the same thing. And, you know, it was just, you know, like I said, we feed off of each other. Wow. It's all tied up. 1-1 now. It's tied up. Going to Philly. Look at this. Doug Benson is in the studio. I'm so excited. That's right. We got some fans here today, Doug. Right on. Nice to have you in here. This is awesome. Thanks for having me. For sure. For sure. You're at the House of Blues tonight at 8 o'clock. Yeah, and I want to invite Colleen to come down. That's probably not a good idea. Put cutting your meat. Stop it. That's right, you meat cutter. Oh, no. That's what she's into. Yeah, it's a meat for Colleen. That's right. You've never heard of meat cutting groupies before? That's right. They're out there. It's about time. It's about time somebody slipped their number to a nice meat cutter instead of to a rock and roll musician. They're getting all the numbers. It's not fair. So, yeah, Doug. You should see what goes on at the bakery.
Doug is, yeah, he's going to be at the House of Blues tonight at 8. And if people want to get tickets, you can just go there and you can get tickets. The door's open at 7, right? Yeah, doors are opening really early. So you can hang out in the House of Blues and drink or whatever it is you do. It is like the coolest venue. Ever, man. I don't know. Have you played there at House of Blues in San Diego? I have not played the San Diego one yet, so I'm very excited to check it out. It's pretty new. It's pretty new, and it's just super cool, man. It's a great place to see a show no matter what. I drove by last night, and the marquee says Doug Benson for the 24th, and then on the 26th, Chris Cornell. Right. No pressure. Because he and I, we run in the same circles all the time. Well, do you both take the same private jet here together? Yeah, yeah. And it's just a funny coincidence. Coincidence, I closed my show with Black Hole Sun. Some irony up in here. My face gets all crazy and my eyes get all big, just like the video. That's fantastic. Come check that out tonight. You guys use the same amp, from what I understand. You guys have the same exact amp. It's really great. So, Doug, you may remember. We used to have the same beard trimmer, too. Is that right? Yeah.
He changes it up all the time. I stay with the facial hair, but you don't know what Chris is going to do. He's so unpredictable in that way. By the way, Chris Cornell live in our studio on Monday. Perfect. No pressure, Doc. Is he going to bring Spoon Man with him? That guy is awesome. That guy fights crime with spoons. Got a big S on his chest. Oh, no, it's Spoonman. Clickety-clack. He's easier to have made than Forkman. Oh, my gosh. Spoonman. You guys, it's Spoonman. Clickety-clack. That's awesome. I'm going to run away with a dish. I'm trapped in chowder. Someone find Spoonman. I'm in a bunch of pudding. Call Spoonman. Here comes some steak. Spoonman's job is done here.
It's time for Fork and Knife Man. Spork. Spork Man put Spoon Man out of business. He's so much more versatile. He's an arch nemesis. I'll get you, Spork Man. Dr. Spork. Will you guys come down and do this during my show? I like not having to do all the time. That's right. That's right. So, Doug. Yes, sir. We got a dude in here that was really stoked to meet. We have two listeners that win the opportunity to get to come in. We have a couple listeners in here. So, yeah, he was all excited. I'm part of a prize? Yeah. That's right. That's awesome. You are the prize. Yes. I want to ask him, how did you do in the Andrew W.K. lookalike contest? We've got to get a picture. We've got to get a picture. That is incredible. People can decide for themselves. A better looking Andrew WK. Less scratches. Yeah, he's always got marks on him. Weird bumps and stuff. That is huge. This is the clean cut version. That's awesome.
Looks like you launder your clothes, too. That's right. That's right. I mean, this is your fan, Doug. That's what I'm saying. I'm saying. He's going to wait to meet you. He's the cleaned up Andrew W.K. That's right. Those are compliments, guys. That's right. He meant that in a good way. I'm not going to mention that I was excited for Doug to come in. I don't even want to know. I don't even want to know. There's the cleaned up Andrew W.K. and the washed up Andrew W.K. Which one would you rather have in the studio this morning? Exactly. That's a good point. In your face. Yeah. And who's the other winner over here? We have two winners? We have two winners. So we have Kim and we have Joe. Kim and Joe are in the studio today. All right. And yeah, Joe was telling us about the one and quarter inch earrings that he has. Yeah. And it's like the tribal kind of deal, right? Where they stretch their lips out by putting big plates. That kind of deal. That's what he does with his ear. Yeah. And he works in the circus. Poodles jump through it. That's right. That is the fact about Joe. I didn't know that. Take it out.
Take it out. Oh, don't take it out. What happens when you take it out? It turns into calamari. It's really crazy. Oh, weird. Right? How gross is that? I'm so hungry for calamari. Give me some lemon. It looks practically like a second ear. It does. Oh, so gross. Kind of sexy. Yeah. And do you have different things you can put in there? Like, can you change it up? You hung what? Master locks. Master locks. Oh, sit around with a master lock hanging off of your head. Yeah, that's normal. That's right, but nobody tried stealing his ear, which is cool. That's good. They were like, give me a combination. If a girl did that, I'd call her Lisa Loeb. Cut it out. House of Blues, 8 o'clock. I do a lot of crowd work. I just go through and tell everybody who they look like. That's my whole show. You work best with guys that have one and quarter inch, you know, big steel plates. Like Andrew WK. I can relate to a dude who has a one and one quarter inch. Yes. You specialize in that particular brand of humor. That's great. But Kim doesn't look like anybody except herself. Actually, Skye found a girl that she thought that she looked like. Oh, really? I did this morning. I was telling her she looks like that chick on... I highly doubt you watch the new version of...
90210 done. I only saw a few minutes of the first episode to make fun of it on Best Week Ever. And then I checked out until the next time they have some crazy really inappropriately dirty scene with teenagers. We'll talk about that for sure. If they do it again. So, Doug, okay, let's talk a little Last Comic Standing. Let's do it. Did you dig it or would you never want to go back to that experience again? I would do it again in a heartbeat just because as lame as it is, it also reaches more people than I reach on. you know, shows that I do on basic cable. Like, it just gets out there more. So, like, I built up a lot more fans from Last Comic Standing. You know, a lot of people saying you should have won or, you know, you got robbed, that kind of stuff. Well, dude, we're getting emails and texts, instant messages of people that were so stoked to have you come in today because they love you. And it's from that TV show, man. I mean, you've got that in every city, man.
Yeah, no, this show has a big following, and each comic kind of lives or dies by their own thing that they do. And even though I came in sixth place, I just got a lot of fans because people liked me on that show. I just went in there and just told jokes and goofed around. didn't treat it like it was such a serious competition. I mean, it's a competition to be funny, not a competition to be the most serious comedian. Why? Yeah, they're a bunch of crybabies on that show. That's Ashley. She's doing impressions. Yeah, that's her Heath Ledger. That's Heath Ledger. Stop it. Yeah, that's her as the... She's good. She's really good. Ashley, give him a little something else. It's potpourri. Is that Seinfeld? Yeah, do Seinfeld. Oh, no. Doug's here. Please. She's pretty good, though. Oh, you're going to give me the music? I just have to go for it? Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, no, no. Here. She can't do it. Yeah, she doesn't work. She needs to have... Yeah, yeah, yeah. Let me give you the music. Here you go. You ready? Mm-hmm. I don't get it. Yeah. No, Doug. You know what? I'm missing something. Doug, I'm telling you, Doug, I'm telling you, usually, I've heard it before. Did you get it? That wasn't as good as it usually is. It's usually really...
Usually it's really rich little. It always sounds like that. Usually sounds just like him. It was pretty accurate except for not being able to understand what he's saying. It's like this is an impression of Jerry Seinfeld. If he was a comic, you couldn't understand the word that he was saying. I would see B-movie again today if he sounded like that in B-movie. Because I thought that movie was B-tarded. So that voice is perfect. My favorite part of Doug's reaction was, I don't get it. And the Mikey Show. I say that a lot every day because people try their humor out on me and I never understand anything that other people are trying to do. That's going to be my new line. I don't get it. Rock 105.3, don't get it. For comedy you don't understand, listen to Mikey. We're way above people's heads. It's so true.
That's so true. People just don't get us. That's what we should say. They just don't get us. It's fine. So, Doug, do you still talk to any of the dudes that you got to hang out with on the show, like any of those comedians? Are you guys friends you still hang out with? Yeah, I got along pretty much with everybody. There's only one person I didn't like. I can't tell you who that was. together. No, he's alright. He's alright. He just wasn't... That has nothing to do with what Doug is saying. I believe he was from San Diego, wasn't he? He might have said he was, because that's a good place to say you're from, to win points with people. Because I think he's from the San Fernando Valley is what I think. Oh, I get it. You know, and he's pretending to be from somewhere else. Those shows always, you know, I've lived in L.A. for a long time, but I grew up in San Diego. So every time you saw me on that show, it would say, From San Diego. You know, they like to play that up. And they don't like to say, From Los Angeles. Because they want it to look like a big amateur contest. And it's not. It's not. You've been doing comics forever, right? They're all professional comics. Yeah, forever. And, you know, if you want to be technical about it.
But, yeah, it's all real comics because you have to perform week after week. It's not like you could just show up and be an amateur and not have any material. So it's a tricky thing, and I think it may not come back after this last season because the last season was pretty awful. Yeah, that was a mess. Yeah, it was pretty unwatchable. Because they put interesting characters in there and didn't put in interesting comics. They didn't put good comics on, so it might not be back. Doug Benson. Might be over with. Yeah. Doug Benson is... I won't have to talk about it anymore. All right. He's performing tonight at the House of Blues, 8 o'clock, and doors open at 7. I hear it's a beautiful venue. I've heard that. It's gorgeous. I've heard that. It's gorgeous. Yeah, Chris Cornell likes it. Cornell's going to come in and talk to you guys after he's done the show. That's how big you guys are. He's not even promoting his show at that point. He's just coming by to hear your Spoonman riffs. That's it. Something great to just sit him down and just do 20 minutes of talking about Spoonman. Don't even turn his mic on. Draw a comic for him. That's all the questions are going to be geared about. It's just the song, Spoonman, the video, and just spoons in general. Ask him only about spoons. What was the best spoon you ever used?
If he veers off into China or, you know, it's not going to happen. Or even a further topic, elections. Right. We're not having it. I'm not a political comic, so that's another thing about coming to the House of Blues tonight is you're not going to get hit over the head with a bunch of politics. I do a lot of radio like this, shows like this. Never shows that are this much fun, of course. Right. I feel you've never said that. I feel you've never, ever said that. I never have. I honestly have. I feel this is a first. I'm truly having a good time here. I like that. Somebody asked me on another show, they said, who are you voting for for president and why? And I said to the first part of your question, that's none of your business. That's my personal private decision. And to the second part of your question, it's because he's black. That's fantastic. Oh, I love that. Dude, that's awesome. That's awesome. I don't get it. I don't get it. Let me try it again. Okay. Today, Doug Benson ripped off Jerry Seinfeld on the Nike show. That's so awesome. That is so great.
some irony up in here. So, Doug, you're doing TV today, too, right? You're doing TV this morning, so we can see you on TV later this morning. That's right. I'm blowing off TV as we speak. Is that right? Yeah, I think this is better. What are you going to be on? I'm going to be on the C-Dub. Okay. Their local morning show, whatever it's called. It's called Huey and Louie. C-Dub. Yeah, and I'm supposed to be there right now. So they're probably teasing me with clips of me doing comedy saying, coming up! And there's going to be some seriously upset hockey moms when I don't show up on the C-Dub. So here's what I want people to do. Keep listening to The Mikey Show on Rock 105.3, but turn on your TV and turn the sound off and see if I show up on the CD. You listen, but watch. You listen, but watch. I love it. It's really great. Maybe you guys could replay this interview, and it would be like when people get stoned and listen to...
Led Zeppelin song while watching Wizard of Oz. Exactly. Pink Floyd. That's what I meant. I meant Pink Floyd, the wall, and I meant the movie is Xanadu. That's right. That is 100% correct. 100% correct. I love weed. Hey, listen, man. Thank you for coming in here. Who's that guy? That's our sound effects dude. He's in San Francisco. Play something, Sean. I pass on grass. There he is. There's Sean. Doug does not. Doug does not. I do not pass the grass. I stop for a spell. He's medical. I saw the documentary. I stop and lay down when I see grass. He sure does. So check it out. Doug Benson is going to be at the House of Blues tonight at 8 and doors open at 7. Doug, you're awesome. It was really fun talking to you, dude. Thanks for having me on. I appreciate it. My buddy Graham Elwood's going to be there with me tonight. He's hanging out, driving around with me this morning.
Oh, and check out my movie. Did I tell you about my movie? What's the movie? Seen it. Super High Me. Seen it. Talk about it. Yep, rented it the day it came out. Rentin' it tonight. It's like Super Size Me. It's like Super Size Me with pot instead of McDonald's. There it is. And he's legit. And it turns out that pot is healthier than McDonald's. Yeah. It's true. We'll be back right after this. Hang on. Check it out. The Mikey Show. You guys are just such a great sports first. San Diego and everyone listening. San Diego is really, really lucky to have you guys on the radio every morning. Rock 105.3. It's a proven fact. Nothing beats the power of two. After all, two heads are better than one. Prop 8 has nothing to do with schools or kids. Our schools aren't required to teach anything about marriage, says our school superintendent.
And using kids to lie about that is shameful. What Prop 8 is really about is eliminating fundamental rights. The League of Women Voters calls it a major threat toward basic constitutional rights. That's why California teachers say no on 8. Our laws should treat everyone equally. All 8 major California newspapers agree. You know, at the time that I married my wife, I knew that one was a no-brainer. Nobody's going to put up with the stuff she puts up with and is still real cool about it like her. But there's also things like when I talk about AIS and when I talk about Sleep Train, these are no-brainers in life. If you're doing anything other than Sleep Train or AIS, it's just a... Arizona basketball coach Lou Olsen has decided to step down after 25 years. That is so crazy to me, man. I've always known Lou Olsen to be the dude. Yeah. Did they say who his replacement is? They did. It was who their assistant coach is. Yeah. Nobody of... No big name. No big name. 570-1053 is our phone number. And yeah, let's get the derby girls in here. They do roller derby. Up in the D-do, Mike. Yeah. Now, I'm not sure if they just want to promote their league or if they want to...
try to get more girls to come in, you know? I think they're looking for more girls for their team, for the DDo team. Yeah. They've all got really cool names. They do? Yeah. Do they, like, make up names? Or do they? You'll see when they tell you. All right. I mean, I'm going to assume they're made up. It'd be really cool if they were real. Who knows? Maybe the names are on their books. I don't think so, though. We don't know. We don't know. We don't know nothing. All right, Derby Girls. Is that right, Derby Girls? It's Derby Girls, right? There we go. And boom goes the dynamite. That's right. Hello, ladies. Hello. You got to tell me names. Tell me what your names are. I'm Morticia Demolicia. Morticia Demolicia. St. Val Massacre. What is it? St. Val Massacre. Okay. Lady Smith 357. There you go. And I am Cindy Sadist. There you go. Now, how does this work, ladies? Tell me about this. Tell me about this league. It's a League of Chick Roller Derby, right? You got it. She's the founder. You're the founder? I am one of the founders of the team. Awesome. How many teams are there? Well, we've got enough for three teams now, right? We need more. We're constantly recruiting girls, and basically right now we're pretty brand new. So we go to practice. We all practice together. We're training the new girls how to.
Just get the fundamentals of roller derby down. Where do you guys do this? In Escondido at Ups and Down Skating Rink. Now, does the skating rink have like a special roller derby, like what do they call it, arena or roller derby? Or do you guys just go around the skating rink doing it? We're flat track. We're not bank track. You're thinking old style where it goes up. No, we're flat track, strictly flat track. It's just pretty much lined out. If you go to a skating rink, you'll see like the circle in the middle of the rink, if you know what I'm talking about. Yeah, yeah. That's basically the size of our track. Okay. So we kind of hold true to the real size, but we just don't have it where it's like up in the air. Okay. And what is the object of the roller derby? How does it work? Okay. So on each team, you have one pivot. What is that? Pivot. Pivot. Pivot. I could have sworn that right now I just heard a second. Pivot. Pivot. Pivot. Come on, Pivot. Pivot. Okay, Pivot sets your pace of your track. Your blockers cannot go 20 feet in front of them or behind them. You have three blockers from each team. We have one jammer. Your jammer is the one that's trying to score points by passing the approach. You're a jammer. She's one of our best jammers. You're a jammer.
Yeah. Are you carrying something in your hands? No, no, no. That's a rollerball. No. That's a rollerball. Way to go, Mike. That's funny. You don't have spikes in your... Maybe on our bracelets and belts, but that's about it. So what it's about is the person passing the person. The jammer has to pass the opposing team blocker and pivot to score points. Pivot. Pivot. Pivot. Pivot. Can we do that too? I have a question. I have a question. Okay, I'm 38 years old. I remember when I was a kid. This used to be on TV, but it was in the banked deal, the bank circles. Now, people probably, Ashley, Zeth, Rob, they're 23, 24, 25. They do not remember this. Sky, you probably don't. You wouldn't be watching it anyway, but this is what I remember. I remember a woman named Georgia. This is Georgia Haas. Wait, say that again. What? I was trained by Georgia Haas. I used to skate on the bank track in her league. She was a coach, right? Yeah, she was like the evil manager. Let me tell you. We named our championship cup after her. It's the Haas Cup. Okay, check it out. Here's what I remember. Dude, it was violent.
Like it was super violent. Sean, did you ever see it? Oh, heck yeah, man. Yeah, yeah. They would really go for it. It was on TV. Throwing people off the track and everything. It was in the rails. It was a big giant circle and it was banked, right? So there was like hills on this thing and these chicks would go around and it was very like WWE. Yeah, pretty much. On wheels. Yeah, on wheels, you know, and with girls. And there was, like, storylines. Bad guys, good guys. Bad guys, good guys. And just like with wrestling, yeah. It may not have been real, but what was real was the physical part of it because they were slamming into each other really hard. It is very physical. You know what I mean? There are some rules that we have to follow. We can't necessarily start punching in your face. We want to with some girls, but...
We can't. We will be immediately ejected from the game. So if you hit another girl, like in a violent, like for real way, you're done. Like in a fist fight way. Right. But you can definitely get in there and be like, you know, you girls can be like elbow and linebackers and just like, you know, getting physical with these chicks. Yeah, we do. It's anything to get our jammer through that pack. Yes. We will knock you. I got to admit, it sounds fun. I mean, I got to see it. You should come out and watch it. It's called Legal Assault. It's a beautiful thing. Now, how many girls are out there on the rink at one time? Like, how many girls are out there? Four, five, six? Five from each team. Five from each team. And, okay, okay. Now, if girls are interested in doing it, what do they do? Contact us. Seriously, we are definitely looking for girls. We represent North County. Again, we skate at the ups and downs skating rink every Tuesday and Thursday. Do they just show up down there? They can show up. If they want to contact us for more information, we're on MySpace. It's MySpace.com slash HCDG, the initials of the team or the league, which is Hidden City Derby Girls. And we also have email, which is...
hcdgrecruit at yahoo.com. Okay, cool. Hopefully our website will be up and running really soon. We love new girls, too. Oh, yeah. Hey, P1 Sanjaya. We'll take care of you. P1 Sanjaya's girlfriend does it, right? Yeah. She's a new girl. I don't know if I can say her name on there because it's kind of dirty. Then don't. Yeah, Rachel. So you guys all come up with names and stuff. you know, our... A.K.A.'s. Yeah. A.K.A.'s. Your A.K.A.'s. Sky really wants to join. She's been talking about that. Oh, you should come out. I'm a scary fan. Don't be scared. Seriously. Look at you already. She's known as the ham queen. That's right. That's funny because I am. I actually emailed you a couple weeks ago. I know. I know you did. And that's when I started asking around to find out what it was and said, oh, no. She wants to be known as Hammy Oakley. And she said that. She wants to be Hammy Oakley. I thought that was the deal. That's true. No, that's not true. That's a good name. She's saying no, that's not the deal. She wants to be Wario Ham Peebles. That's right. Okay, calm down.
Well, listen, ladies, thank you very much. The Hidden City Derby girls sounds like fun. It's a lot of fun. You guys definitely come out and check us out. Nice, nice. And again, it's the skating rink, ups and downs. Ups and downs. You have to be 18, female, the whole kit and caboodle. If you don't know how to skate, we can definitely teach you. And contact us at our MySpace. It's myspace.com slash hcdg. It's initials of our league. Or you can email us at hcdgrecruit at yahoo.com. Thank you very much. Thank you. Very cool. Thanks for having us. That was awesome. That was awesome, ladies. All right. We still have about a ton of things that we have not got to. It's like 610, right? We're just starting the show. It honestly feels like we would just be getting started right now. That's so crazy. Because we've had so much stuff on. Thanks a lot, ladies. So, yeah, let's get through some of this stuff, because, man, I got a lot to talk about. Come on, Mike. Okay. Miley Cyrus is talking about... Miley, Miley? Miley's 90? Yeah. Apparently, she's dating a 20-year-old.
Right? How old is she? 15? She's 15. Oh, she was 10. I thought she was 10 to 12 years old. And starting about maybe like a month ago, she was seen hanging out with this 20-year-old guy who was on Nashville Star. And, of course, everybody's like, oh, jump to conclusions. They're just friends. Well, they hang out like every day. They go everywhere together. They make googly faces at each other. What's a googly face? Show me a googly. What does googly face look like, Skye? Because I don't know what googly face is. Yeah. Well, you see what Eddie's doing right now? Get on. There's basically a picture of Miley Cyrus doing that to him while he's walking a catwalk in a fashion show. She's like licking her lips. It's kind of googly tongue. Oh. Yeah. Wow. Yeah. So anyway, so Smimey Mimey. Smimey Mimey. Went on Seacrest yesterday. Mimey Cyrus is her name. Mimey Lee. Mimey Cyrus. Now, Mikey, you know who Seacrest is, right? Mimey. Here we go. Slimy. Sean, does Mike know who Seacrest is? I don't know. Why don't you ask him? Mike, do you know who Ryan Seacrest is?
I would like to be Seacrest. Oh, you do know. Somebody you want to be. You do know. Well, in that case. I'm your hero. Okay. That was a clip of me. You know, that's not me. So she was on his show yesterday. I would like to be Seacrest. We understand. Can you relax with that? Thank you. And she started talking about, oh, everybody judges us. We're just hanging out. Why is everyone judging us? Why aren't people open-minded about our ages? And then she starts, oh, he's such an awesome guy. Oh, I'm totally gushing her. now and then Ryan came out and said hey are you guys dating and she said maybe maybe not that was her official answer check maybe or check maybe not Right, and then Seacrest starts going off about, this guy's name is Justin, about how good-looking Justin is and how it may be so hard to date someone that good-looking. Seacrest said that about the dude? Yes. Whoa. Dude. Come on. That's weird because he's straight. Too good-looking to date. Right? That's just strange because, like, you know. I know, it's weird. It's totally straight. It was like the other day when Ryan Seacrest asked Zac Efron about his new pumped-up.
arms and how good his arms were looking in the new High School Musical 3. That's a totally strange thing because he's totally straight. Ryan's closet is see-through. Come out, dude. We know you're in there. your eyes are closed, we can still see you. Just because you're not moving and holding your breath. There's another guy in there with you. Please do. The both of you guys come out of there. It's okay, bro. Come out of there. We already know. Yeah. Crazy. No one ate. Is that the guy from the closet? That's the other guy in the closet. He's like, shh, don't say that to me. No, we don't know. You say that to me. I want to hear it out. I know, but Melanie. Let's see. I think I found some audio of that. I want to hear it. I want to hear it. Her voice is so weird, man. You mean like Brenda Beccaro? If only it was like that. It's a dude. Hold on. What? I keep seeing you walking around with a guy that I think is too old for you. Well, I think you're too old. Well, I am too old. I am. I guarantee you I'm too old.
I am too old. No one else really thinks I'm funny, but I do. No, I think you're very... By the way, you're smarter than any of us here at this studio, I'll tell you that. At least you, anyway. So are you... See? So are you going out with Justin? Why do you want to know? Do you have a crush on me? Well, I can't have a crush on you. I have a crush on your mother. No, stop it. But I want to know because the audience, those fans of Miley Cyrus... Maybe, maybe not. But are you, let's just talk about rules. You're 15 going to be 16 in a second. I can't. I can't. What's weirder? What is weirder? I have the uncomfortable chills. Oh, dude. You had a brutal interview. My mouth is watering. Oh, yes. I'm like, ah. All things make me uncomfortable. Is the secret stuff weirder or is her voice weirder?
I have a crush on your mom and her brother. The whole thing. The whole thing is just so strange. I have a crush on your dad. I mean your mom. I met your brother. Thank you, Breaky. Oh, that is so creepy. Unpause. And this guy's 20, right? Yeah. So are you allowed to date him if you were? Yes, but... I just think that right now everything is really good. So I haven't really been answering the question much just because we're just really happy with everything, the way that everything's worked out. And he's really been a really great friend more than anything because there was just a lot going on. And I think that everyone started judging us as soon as we started hanging out. After my last two years, there's been a lot of things that have happened, so I've learned just not to judge anyone and just kind of go into our friendship with, like, an open mind and not really worry about, like, the age and everything because, like, our family is just like, you know, whatever happens, happens. And if he's, like, just nothing but a really good friend, that's awesome.
So I think, like, more than anything, he's really helped me out, like, move on from a lot of things and just, like, get my mind off of it because he's a really great Christian guy, which is really awesome. And he's gone through stuff, and I've gone through stuff, and everyone goes through that. That was uncomfortable for Seacrest, I think, to a certain extent. He's like, okay, well, I want to date your mom, and goodbye. Yeah, I'm really gushing right now. No, I know you are, but you can bond on a level that's probably unrelatable to a lot of people that you hang out with. Exactly. And, I mean, more than anything, it's like... How old is Miami Lee Siley? 15. She's 15. He's 20. Well, okay. Hang on. Are they like kissing? Are they photographing them kissing and stuff? There are no photographs of them kissing, but there are many eyewitness accounts of them like making out all over the place. Yeah. Yeah. See, okay. Christian dude, whatever. Great. Whatever. No matter. I mean, whether he is, whether he isn't, whatever. But achy breaky. Yeah. You know, I mean, if he's 20 and she's 15. and they're making out. I don't know that you want them making out like in public and everything. Do you really want them making out? Isn't that kind of illegal? Statutory. Is it illegal if they have sex or is it illegal if they're kissing? Is it illegal if they're kissing too? I think that is too, right? It's kind of like any sexual contact. Yeah, I think any sexual, yeah. It's weird, man. Unpause.
I kind of get that. I think that's why I'm so close with all the other people on the channel. And I think that's why I started becoming friends with so many different people in that family. Because people, you know, can always say that they understand. All my friends, and I love having my friends that tell me, yeah, Miley, we understand. But it's really hard for someone that's not in the public eye to understand what it's like to feel like so many people are, you know, judging you. People gossiping, you know, gossiping about you at your school. They gossip about you, you know, all over the Internet. And I was on some website that was literally people were bashing me in French. And I'm like, OK, I've had enough of that. So it's really hard for people to know, you know, what that's like. And I think that it's really cool that me and him have that relationship where we can we can talk about it because he gets it. Well, it seems like your family likes him. Right. Well, here's the deal. It's she's. 100% right. Like if you're in the public eye, people are going to, you know, be watching your every move and scrutinizing your every move or whatever. But it's not going to be made better if you're 15 and you're going out with a 20-year-old. That's not going to make it better. If you're 15 and you're going out with a 15-year-old, you're still going to have it. There's no doubt about it. But at least then you're not like heaping loads of, you know, make it worse, make it worse. It's just heaping loads of make it worse on there with a side of make it worse.
Unpause. Well, he worked with my dad, so my dad thinks he's really cool. Yeah. Well, he's just, he's too good looking is the problem because, and not for you, but just for, he's too good looking for every other. What are you trying to say? I'm saying that he makes every other guy that's listening right now look bad. Well, that's what would be hard about dating him is that, you know, it's like, how has anything ever happened? You know? What are you going to go to after that? Pause. It's your guy's problem. Okay, easy, Dr. Wayne. Yeah, we know what you're about. What do you mean, what's the matter with us? Hey, so critical. This is Dr. Wayne, by the way. We know. Yeah, so the guy said, you know, he's making the rest of us look bad. I'll tell you what, when the guy reaches a certain level of, you know. What? Hotness, then I guess it's hard for the rest of us to try to look hot, too, you know? I mean, I'm out there every day lifting weights. Yeah. Trying to get my muscles to look good and everything. And then you've got these guys that are so hot that it's hard to make me look hot. Doctor, I guess the deal is that most guys don't notice other guys' hotness. Well, I mean, for goodness sake, the guy was just noticing that the...
It's hard for that guy to have one hair out of place, which is the truth. I don't think that's what he was saying. He was saying that when he gets that particular extra small T-shirt over there at the baby gap and puts it on and lifts some weight. What? It happens to look good. Who does that? Who does that? What? That's what I said. Exactly. Okay. I don't know what your problem is. You guys are acting like you're a bunch of kids. One good-looking guy was pointing out that another guy is really good-looking. Okay, enough. Dr. Wayne, what are your feelings on Zac Efron? I don't even know who that is. Who's Zac Efron? Oh, yeah. Who's Zac Efron? I'm sure you don't. Hang on just a second. My wife wants to make love on Zac Efron. I'm sure. All the time with that guy. I'm buying it. Yeah, please. Ladies and gentlemen, our phone number is 570-1053. Our text number is 35253. Is it me or does Miley sound like a speaking spell? Something more comfortable, like a coma. It's Mikey. On a Rock 105.3.

Did you know that a just-completed survey of AIS clients shows an average savings of $850 per year? Now, of course, prices vary depending on your needs, so it really pays to shop around, which is what AIS does for you. In fact, 92% of AIS clients renew year after year, which goes to show just how much money they're saving.
Remember, AIS wants you as a customer for life. Hey, it's Mikey. Call AIS at 1-800-777-4AIS. Again, that's 1-800-777-4AIS. Welcome back. It's KIOZ San Diego. Hit it. Kia! That's right. Brownie point. He did it. Kia! He hit it. Kia! That's enough. The picture, bro. What if we did this? Now it's time for the YouTube. You want to hear some of this? Check this out. This guy created a new instrument. It's a hybrid of a little kid toy piano, a ukulele, and a kazoo. And he plays one of the greatest songs of all time. That's 69. Get it. I played this on Kazoo Hero the other day. You did? That is a fun game, that Kazoo Hero. It's tough. So there it is. That was really good.
Really good. Pretty incredible, isn't it? It's a new instrument. And does it actually have a name, Sean? Do you know if it has a name? Yeah, it's called the Kazuki Laylee. Love it. Kazuki Laylee. Alright, so the biggest story of the day is the young woman Who was assaulted. She's got a couple black eyes and a bee carved into her face. And this is a girl that apparently had a McCain bumper sticker on her car. And is a McCain supporter. And she is like at an ATM. Somebody notices that she's got a McCain sticker and assaults her. Allegedly. Allegedly. Now, why allegedly? Because her story is not adding up, the police say. It's not making sense. She's contradicting herself. They just this morning got the video from the ATM. She is not the woman on the tape in the ATM. And her story keeps changing.
And the thing that I thought was weird about it the first time I saw it, because she alleges that this dude was robbing her at the ATM in Pennsylvania and then saw the McCain sticker on her car and was like, oh, you know, I'm going to teach you a thing or two. You're going to be voting for Barack. And she says that she was down on the ground. He sat on her chest and then carved a bee in her face. But if you look at the bee, because there's a picture of her, you see the picture everywhere. It's backwards. So why would someone sit on you and carve it backwards? I'm like, that was my first thought, but I'm like, whatever. She said that the attacker sat on her chest? Yeah, let's see. According to her, called her lots of names, said you're going to be a Barack supporter, at which time she states he sat on her chest, pinning both her hands down with his knees and scratched into her face the letter B. And then she refused medical attention. She said she would go the next day to give a statement down at the police station. Yeah. So it's backwards like if you carved it in a mirror? Rob the picture. Now, what are we thinking with the black eye thing? Okay, because like if this is all, if it's all a scam, you know, if it's all a scam.
She would have had to take a punch. Maybe she stepped on a rocking chair thingy. Oh, wow, I heard that. That can lead to a head injury. But what I love is when this story broke yesterday, I got a whole bunch of emails from different conservative P1s saying, See, Sky, you better talk about this tomorrow, Sky. Oh, Sky, look at what your Barack supporters are doing. Ew. Well, it's just ridiculous because... Because even if it is true, again, this is an example, and Mike's talked about this many times, of one crazy person. Yeah. You know what I mean? Like, please. Yeah. Well, and it does, it looks kind of fishy. Yeah. It looks kind of fishy. And here's what's really stupid about it, if it was all dreamt up. Yeah. Let's say that this girl, like, dreamt the whole thing up and said, hey, I'm going to take a couple of punches, but it's going to, you know, look, you know, we're going to make it look really bad. Even if that was the deal, honestly, to any normal person, in my opinion, it doesn't have anything to do with Barack Obama. I don't know. I'm thinking it was a Red Sox fan. Well, immediately, Sarah Palin and John McCain both called her. I had Mondale carved into my forehead once. You did, Eddie? I did it.
It was not a pleasant experience. At the time you supported Bush, the first Bush. Or Reagan. It was Reagan. Walter Mondale was running against him. Somebody wanted to show you a lesson. Show you who a real candidate was. They tripped me and pinned me down. I think I was 13 at the time. Wow, that's awful. It was very traumatic. Enough years have gone by. It was me. Enough for your Reaganomics. If we're going to tell the story, let's tell it accurately. I actually carved the entire name Walter Herbert Monday. I appreciate that. And the reason being it was confusing is because I supported Star Wars, but it was the movie, not the actual military. I thought you supported the military in Star Wars, and I wasn't. I think you owe him an apology. And Walter Herbert Mondale was against that. And so after all these years now, knowing, man, Eddie.
My bad. You know what? It was a mistake, Mike, and I do forgive you. Thank you. We'll just chalk that one up to misunderstanding. Let me tell you. Now, let's go on the supposition that this is all phony baloney. If it was, that girl would have to live with a B on her face. You know what I mean? A backwards B. A backwards B scar. A backwards B scar. Yeah. Which, I mean, Come on. I would do it. Yeah. Like, really? Is it a setup thing? Are you looking at it, Ash? Yeah. Eddie, you've seen it, right? I haven't seen it. The B is backwards. Enough said. That's just ridiculous. It is so stupid. That is ridiculous. B's backwards. She sat in the mirror and carved that into her own sheet. There's no way that someone would pin her down and write a B backwards on her face. That does not make sense. Well, they can't. Yeah, they're not going to pin you down. Unless they were on the other side. Well, if they were on the other side. Dyslexic man did it. Yeah. You're sitting on the chest. Sitting, like, on your chest? Yeah. Yeah. But if you were, like...
With her head right here. Yeah, I know, but how do you do it? If you're above them, she can get away real easy. Like, you'd have to pin them down. Well, if you have your knees on, like, her shoulders. Yeah, I guess. But then you wouldn't be on her chest. But what a strange way to, like, how would you get someone down and then move yourself into a position where your knees are holding down her shoulders? It's obvious that it's a little silly. I mean, come on. A little fishy. Oh, man. And it's like a perfect B. Well, yeah. Something else. I have another point to make. The person would be, obviously we're looking for a left-hander. Because it's on her right cheek. So the person would be a lefty. Yeah, they would have had to use their lefty. A backwards lefty. Because if they were a right-hander, it would be on her left cheek. They'd be writing on her, unless they were like, They were right-handed, and they were like, and Ashley makes a great point. It is perfect. Like, even if they hold you down, you can still throw your head around. You would thrash around. The B is perfect. Well, and she claims he used a dull knife, because if you look at it, it almost looks more like a scratchy burn, not like an actual incision. Right.
And then something else. And he did it in calligraphy. Yes. That's weird. Old English. Old English. The other kind of strange thing is that the person is like, you know, let's see, what should I put? Yeah. Obama and O? No, because that won't really. No way. They won't get it. They won't get it. What about O? What about O apostrophe? Obama. No, no, no. What are you, crazy? Think Obama. What do people think about when they think Barack Obama? Change. Should I put C? No, you're, no. Think inside the box. Raise taxes? No. Well, yeah. How about a B? For what? How about carve ridiculous health care plan? I like it. Fine. You know what? Listen, we've been sitting here on this girl's chest for 20 minutes. We've got to make a decision. Well, she's just laying still, so. She just yawned, actually. She just yawned. Miss, any ideas?
Can you guys just put a B for Barack and move along? I'll hold the mirror and you just put it on yourself. I don't want to hurt you. We've done enough damage here. But do it lightly. Point proven. Yeah, I don't know. What's real weird is the story does not match up. And they said that someone saw... A car with a McCain sticker on it. And she was at the ATM. I thought that. Is that your car right there? According to her, he's holding a knife to her neck. He's robbing her for $60. But takes time to notice a bumper sticker in the parking lot and address it. It's a strange story. It's a strange story. It's very strange. If it does come out that it was all made up, I don't think that there's any part of it that wouldn't be embarrassing for her. No. Nope. I don't think she'd be recognizable at all. You know, after. Dear diary. It's a strange story. What else is happening? Let's see. We got an email that says the next Eddie B. Rob challenge. Eddie, you have to take Rob on in a roller derby challenge. Oh my gosh, I would love that so much. You on one team, Rob on the other. It'd be funny to have pairs. You and Sky against Rob and Ashley.
I'm willing to do the roller doobie, but not with Skye. Yes, you and Skye. You guys work great together. I'll be for whoever. Ashley's crazy. Get in there. She'll kick somebody's butt. She has had head trauma in the past. That is right. There was this one time when I was four. No, I was five. She just fell off the rocker. She lost her rocker. I stepped on the rocking chair. And it knocked me in the head. And I cut right above my eyebrow. She's off her rocker. Mikey, Skye's roller derby name should be the Mean Green Money Machine. Oh, yeah. Let's see. Skye's roller derby name could be... Let's not do this right now. The Hammer. Yeah. Hammer. I get it. He went nasty, Nate. The Ham Fighters. Ding dong. All right. Big Charlie. That's right. Oh, yeah. Wait, you're so dumb. Murph. The Mall. Oh, okay. The Mall. Kaiser Killer Queen. Oh. Oh, yeah. That's one. That's one.
Phil Pace Princess. I said last he was. Yes, it was. Oh, sure. For me, for me. I can't control him. And I couldn't agree more. In L.A., there was some meals that they were supposed to be using for charity. They gave them to kids, right, Skye? Yeah. How many of those kids got sick? Let me see. I know I think at least 10 kids had to go to the hospital. That sucks. But let's see. 32 cases of salmonella after this charity distributed these lunches or meals. I don't know if they were lunch, but meals to preschool children. 28 Head Start programs in the San Fernando Valley and East L.A. received food from this place. And so basically they say this place, this charity now has to throw out all their food, wash down everything with a bleach solution before they can start giving food to charity again. But yeah, lots of people got sick. They say the number of people affected could be around 300 with the salmonella. Sky has a list of AOL's best movie presidents.
So the other day we did the best presidents from television. Movie. Movie. Movie. Movie. Jeff Bridges from The Contender. I love Jeff Bridges from The Contender. Shark Sandwich. Shark Sandwich. I thought he was fantastic. Dave. Jeff Bridges from The Contender, number 10. Dan. Ashley. Kevin Kline from Dave. She said Dan. What about Dan? What about Dan? What about President Dan? She checked it before she wrecked it. Bill Cohn in Independence Day. No way! That's awful. Michael Douglas in American President. Yes, Ashley, number three. Michael Douglas, American President. Warren Beatty in... Dick Tracy. No. Bullworth. Booyah. What about Anthony Hopkins? Morgan Freeman. In? Independence Day 2. No, the other asteroid one. The Day Deep Impact. That is number two. Morgan Freeman, number two. Jack Nicholson in Mars Attacks. Number nine, actually. Jack Nicholson in Mars Attacks, number nine. Oh, what about the dude in the fifth element?
Oh, yeah. Bruce Willis. No. That was Brad Pitt. Was he a president in the 12 Monkeys? Yes, he was. How about Robin Williams in that dumb comedy he was in? Man of the year. What about Richard Simmons? Mike. In what? Mike. That was the queen. That's right. Oh, I thought that was it. It wasn't a president. What about... We're missing number one? Yes. Yeah. Who's the best president? Armageddon. This is an actor that's dear to your heart, Eddie. Oh, Brett Favre. No. Brett Favre, yeah. What movie did he play a president in? Brett Favre. Let's see. Come on, Eddie. I don't know what she's talking about. Eddie. Ahmad Rashad, was he in a movie, Eddie? He's not dear to my heart, actually. If there wasn't actors who were dear to your heart, who would they be? Radon Chong? Radon Chong, yeah. She was the first president in Quest for Fire. Right. Oh, it's got to be something Star Wars.
She played George Washington. Oh, Harrison Ford in Air Force One. Yes. Oh, yeah. America's favorite movie president is Harrison Ford in Air Force One. Oh, there it is. 570-1053 is our phone number. And so give us a call. Beginning and end of every show, we do an open phone segment. You can call in about anything you want to. So give us a call. 570-1053. People are probably calling with presidents, I bet. And they just heard. Skye said. What'd I say? She said that there was a gigantoid drop in the Dow Jones Industrial Average this morning. Great. Here we go. Sell, sell, sell. How many, Skye? How many points? Let's see. It's not on the front of CNN anymore like it was this morning. Maybe that's good. Let's see. The Dow is down 322 points right now.
And earlier this morning, it was like 480-something. Yeah. So it's a little better. I heard they actually had to stop trading this morning. They do like pre-hours trading early in the morning. And the software shut everything down because it was going too low. Really? Yeah, it was really bad. They'll shut down trading. That's their safety net. Yeah, they'll stop it. Yeah. Ever since the crash at 29. But they started again, right? Yeah. And where is it now? Yeah, the computer set it down. It's called Hell 9000. No, the stock market crashed in 29, so they had to come on. No, it's like Norton Antivirus. Yeah, I think they were running in Norton or whatever. They thought it was spam back then or something? I don't remember. I don't remember the particular Digibike. Something like that. Like my mom told me. I don't know. I got one of them Dell computers. It's on an N29. No, dude. It was like something with the gateway. Yeah, I don't know. It was Dell and the gateway. Way back when. Whatever. Whatever it was. Yeah, it was like spyware. Yeah, I think that's what it was. They had protection. Shut down all the laptops. Yes. In 29. In 29. Yeah, it was a great laptop shut down at 29. You could not start up any laptops. You had to like control up, cleaved in, then you're all good. Oh, my God.
Yeah, and you know, that was like the early days of Control-Alt-Delete. It's when they discovered Control-Alt-Delete. Little known fact. Back in 29, this guy like passed out. He was so freaked out, you know, and he fell on Control-Alt-Delete. And it's like, reboot, oh, we're good. Oh, and it solved the whole crime. It's 1929, ah. They were just doing Control-Alt and nothing was happening. Good thing for that whole thing that happened in the tang back in 29. 5701053. P1 Matt's on the line. He's gone. P1 Chad. What's up, brother? What's going on? Not much. Tomorrow I got my one-year anniversary, and I only got 50 bucks to my name. I was wondering if you guys had any ideas. There is this thing that I like to do. And it is the bucket of memories. Such a jerk. Such a jerk. The vase of emotions. You're such a jerk. It's the Kleenex box of things that are sweet. Favorite time of the day. And you just, what you do is you cut up little pieces of paper and on them you write anything that's like sweet and dear to your heart. Just anything? Yeah. Oh, and it has to do with your...
Oh, okay. Anything soft to cuddly. Yeah, yeah. So this can of sweet nothing. Just write cats on there. You can use any can, too. Whatever you got, just empty out the corn. The soup. Yeah, just clean it out real good. And you give it to her, and she pulls them out, and one by one, you're like... Kiss her on the forehead while she reads it. And you're like, oh, you're so dear to my heart. And she's like, oh, the time that we met. Oh, you're adorable. There you go, sir. Enjoy that. Happy anniversary. Yeah, it's a pickle jar, I wonder. You get that. It's awesome. Mikey show. You're welcome. Hello. Hi, how are you guys doing? Good. I was just wondering if Mikey can do a shout out to my dad to say happy birthday to him. He's a really big fan of his. Right on. What's his name? His name's Keith. Keith. Shout out. Happy birthday, Keith. Happy birthday, Keith. Happy birthday, Keith. Mikey Show. Hi, this is Eric P1 Kincaid. What's up, dude? Yeah, I just want to say my girlfriend's birthday's tomorrow.
planning to take her to UTC. Right on. The skating rink. Yeah. And then the next day is our, I believe, 10-month anniversary. And this is, like, my first time calling. And I love you guys' show. I listen to it on the way to San Marco State every day. And then I got my girlfriend listening to it, too. That's very cool. Thank you, bro. Have fun. Thank you. We appreciate it. Thank you. Thank you very much. Thank you. Mikey's show. Hello. About what, man? Tell me your name, dude. I'm sure you already did that. I have a really bad memory. That's why I have to write everything down. You lost your job? Well, they gave me a two-week notice, but, you know, I'm definitely going to go jobless after two weeks. What do you do? I'm a mechanical engineer. There you go. How old are you? I'm 22 years old. Oh, you got your whole life ahead of you. Yeah. Your whole life ahead of you. 22. Oh, man. Yeah, but it's hard to find a job because everyone's competing for that job, you know? Oh, yeah. I got you. All right, brother. I'll definitely do that for you. For sure. P1 David. Hey. What's up?
Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I work at Home Depot on the graveyard shift, and we slapped a couple of your stickers on our forklifts, man. Right on. That is a P1. Spreading the word. I love it. Getting it out there. I love it, dude. That's right. And I also wanted to know if my wife, actually, she couldn't make it, but she started the Hidden City Roller Derby team. Oh, yeah? And I was wondering if I could get a recording. I thought that the girl that started it was sitting in here. She said she was a co-founder. Co-founder, co-founder. Co-founder. Her cousin Jenny and her started that. And I was wondering if I could get a recording of today for her. Oh, man. We could just podcast it. Yeah, why don't we podcast it? He could go to the P1 site. They host the whole show there. Oh, yeah, yeah, dude. Go to P1site.com. They have all that stuff. Okay, cool. All right, brother. All right. Thanks. Right on, dude. Very cool. Appreciate it. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Oh, thank you. Thank you, Mikey. Oh, well, everyone is, I guess, thank you. Thank you, Mr. McKinney. Thank you. Thank you, Mikey. I heard guys said thank you. Thank you, Mikey. You guys said it at the same time that time. That was weird. Hey, at the end of the show on Fridays, I like to give you my testimony, and that is telling you.
The story about where I have been and where I am now. The deal is my history is in addiction. I was addicted to alcohol when the big change in my life happened, but I've actually been addicted to, I could be addicted to anything and have been. The way that I got there may be something that you can relate to. Low self-esteem, insecurity, overall feeling of just not being worth much. Basic and overall feeling that whatever I thought, I couldn't really trust. Led to was me making bad decisions. Bad choices. Are listening right now that have experienced something similar to that. There may be people that are listening right now that are going through a really hard time in their life. That's why I tell you this story. I got to a point where I was drinking so much that I would have to drink, get sick.
Go back and drink again. Get sick. Nobody knew the kind of misery that I was going through inside. They knew that I was miserable. There's no doubt about that. But they didn't know the extent of it. They didn't know how much it was tearing. Maybe you're listening right now. You're going, yeah. Nobody knows the extent of where I am either. You know that you're there if you feel hopeless. You don't feel like you have a hope of anything good in your future. And that's where I was. Because I knew that I couldn't stop. doing what I was doing. I decided that I was going to surrender and give up and give my life to God. Let God come into my life. And what he was asking for me to do was just listen to him. Listen to him and follow his lead and trust him. And every time I made a little bit of a step towards doing that, reward me with this little blessing. One little blessing turned into another blessing. Today,
I have to tell you, I mean that so sincerely. There are so many things in my life today that are just so different from the way life used to be. Last night, my son was laying down on the changing table. And he had a little bottle of water in his mouth. And he said, go daddy's car. He wanted to go drive. He always says that. He always wants to go drive. Then I leaned down to him. I said, no, but I can't go driving. I go to sleep. So he whispered to me. Cute. Of this moment. I would just never have that moment. Ever. It would have looked so different. It would have looked so different. Thank you, God. There was hope in my life. That's the whole message of why I tell you about this. This is why I tell you what my story is, because there was hope for me. I found it through forming that relationship with Jesus Christ. Man, these last couple times I've told you this story, it's been kind of emotional for me. If you go to my website, MikeyShow.com, go to MikeyShow.com.

It'll also tell you about, there's a resource and a website to click on. to go to the church that I go to. The only reason I put that one out there for you, I'm not trying to push my church on you. I mean that from the bottom of my heart. I am not trying to push my church on you. I tell you about it because it just helps you with that relationship that I'm telling you about. If you want it, you don't have to do it. Trust me, you don't have to. I just put it out there because, man, I go to a cool church. Love you to check it out. If you're anywhere where I was where you just feel hopeless,
You feel like you don't have any hope in your life. I play a song at the end of the show on Friday from a band called Third Day. And the whole entire song, the whole lyrics of the song, in fact, the whole album is called Anywhere You Are or Wherever You Are. That's the name of it. Wherever You Are, it's by Third Day. And every single track, every single song is all about hope. It's all about hope and having hope in your life. And so the lyrics of this song are so cool. They're so powerful. And they're really about hope. The song is called Tunnel. And really listen to the lyrics if you can. Lovely and talented Missy is up next. We will be back here on Monday. We'll do it all over again. Thank you for listening. What a great week of radio. This crew killed it this week. You guys were awesome. We'll see you on Monday. Mikey shows up late.
