European travelLos Angeles arsonSan Diego ChargersIowa caucusradio gamesMichael JacksonTodd Marinovichparental pressurebathroom hygienebanished wordsmikey showradio
Jay revealed that his son Finn was leaving on a one-way European trip, while the hosts split over whether travel builds character or merely exposes him to theft and trouble. Woodsy and callers criticized Dean Spanos for retaining Norv Turner and A.J. Smith after another mediocre Chargers season, and the crew mocked the chaotic Iowa caucus count that narrowly favored Mitt Romney over Rick Santorum. The show's strongest human story came from Todd Marinovich, who described loving football despite Marv Marinovich's extreme training, surviving addiction and eventually choosing family, art and positive coaching. Lighter bits included a disastrous Catchphrase game, an 'I love lamp' teleprompter prank, two surreal Michael Jackson encounters and arguments about toilet plumes and overused words.
What happened, in order
Finn's one-way Europe trip
Jay said his 19-year-old son Finn bought a one-way ticket and rail pass for an open-ended European trip, prompting an argument over whether travel or school is the better way to grow up.
The jail nerd arsonist
The hosts discussed accused Los Angeles arsonist Harry Burkhardt and spun his 50 alleged attacks into a comic debate about where an arsonist ranks in the prison hierarchy.
Chargers choose continuity
Woodsy reported that Dean Spanos was keeping coach Norv Turner and general manager A.J. Smith, while the crew and a caller argued that money and complacency were prolonging mediocrity.
Edith counts Iowa
The show replayed Clinton County chairwoman Edith Pfeiffer's confused, combative late-night tally during Mitt Romney's eight-vote Iowa caucus victory over Rick Santorum.
Catchphrase meltdown
Mikey, Woodsy, Lauren and Jay played Catchphrase, stumbling memorably through clues for 'flagpole sitter,' mahjong, liar's dice, mulligan and bay leaves.
I love lamp
A Green Bay news prank put 'I love lamp' on a teleprompter, and the anchor read it on air before realizing her colleagues had set her up.
Six feet from Michael Jackson
Mikey recalled sitting six feet from Michael Jackson in Las Vegas as the singer, dressed in purple pajamas, thanked radio workers and became visibly emotional.
Michael and Webster at the pet shop
Caller Carol said Michael Jackson entered her West Los Angeles pet shop carrying Emmanuel Lewis on his shoulders and asked for help buying reptiles and puppies.
Todd Marinovich sets the record straight
Todd Marinovich told the hosts that he loved football despite his father's extreme training, accepted Marv's misdirected love, regretted leaving USC and now finds meaning in family, art and helping young quarterbacks.
The toilet plume
The crew reacted with disgust to research saying an uncovered flush sprays fecal matter around a bathroom and concluded that people should close the lid and protect their toothbrushes.
Ban the buzzwords
The hosts argued over a proposed 2012 ban on phrases including 'baby bump,' 'occupy,' 'man cave' and 'ginormous,' with Mikey insisting that a grown man's man cave is simply an office.

Retro for Time Mikey Show fans. Depending on how long you've been listening to the Mikey Show, you recognize this music. I used to play it at nighttime. I was on at night. We're at Keyall. Hey, the Mikey Show's on at 5.30 in the morning now, which is good news for a lot of you, because you wake up early. So, yeah, welcome to it. Bright and early now. And the new hours are 5.30 to 9, by the way. 570-1949 if you want to give us a call. You can call us about anything you want. And at 6 o'clock, I kind of do a restart for us because I realize that, you know, people are just getting out of bed. And a lot of people's alarm clocks go off at 6. So I do the intro of who we all are and all that stuff. Oh, you know what I need, Jay? TVs. I knew something was off. I got to be able to see my TVs. You know, I watch my stories. Soaps. Well, Telemundo soaps. Yes.
I enjoy my Telemundo soaps because they... Shut your phone off in the studio. You know the rules. You made the rules. It would be nice if you followed them. I have a really interesting fact about Mexican soap operas. Really? They have a beginning and end. Every episode? Every soap opera. So soap opera will run for like three years, but it has a conclusion. Right. And then they do another one. It's not like Days of Our Lives that goes for... 25 years. 40 years. Yeah. Like the storyline ends. Oh. And then they, like, those actors will go on to another show or whatever. Can I ask you a serious question? Yes. What's your favorite story been so far? All right. I knew that wasn't going to be a serious question. I knew it wasn't going to be a serious question. Knew it right from the very beginning. M1 San Diego from San Diego. How are you? Good morning, Mikey Show. Good morning. I'm having a few hours. Yeah, thanks.
I got a Howard drive every morning, and I didn't know what to do the last half hour, but now I do. That's a good boy. It is cool, man. I'm glad that people are digging it and that people like being able to hear us earlier. Hey, Happy New Year, by the way. Happy New Year to you. And I think I'm in love with your Nicole. Have you seen her? She is way awesome, man. Yeah, she's really pretty. Apparently, you've seen her, right? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Uh-oh. And I might have to call like every day now. There you go. Well, let me tie it up our phone lines, creeping on 19-year-old. Yeah. Just think of something good to say every day. Well, I have got to make up for Jay. That's true. Well, he does fine. That is a true fact. Welcome to the 530. Thank you. Thank you. Appreciate it, man. Have a great day. Thank you. On this day. 12 years ago, the euro was introduced, and probably is maybe their demise. How's that done? Not well. Yeah. Not well. They thought it was going to kill the dollar, and not so much. You don't worry about the dollar. Yeah. Okay? Dollar's fine. I mean, in theory, it's a good idea, right? I mean, we don't need a franc, and then I'd cross the border, which takes 20 minutes, and now I've got to use a... Krugerrand? Yeah, Krugerrand. Right.
How about we all just, you know, agree that we use the same thing? It sounded like a good idea in theory. What a beating that must have been to go to Europe and everywhere you went, you had to cash in like a pile of dough. You're like, I don't know what I have. What's the exchange rate? And what I want to know is why it didn't work. If anybody's listening, if you're listening and you know, like you're smart enough to know why the euro didn't work and why it's a problem right now. In layman's terms. In layman's terms, 570-1949. We want to know. Yeah, absolutely. I think some of the countries still refuse to accept it, too. Yeah. You probably get there and you're like, I can't use Europe? Yeah. Now what do I do? No, sir. One thing that you'll never see me doing is I am not the guy, L.O.B. is this guy, that'll get on a train and travel through. Through Europe? Europe. That'd be fun. Oh, I'd love to. My son leaves February 16th. Wow, I'm so jealous. He's got a one-way ticket. What? Whoa. He's going to Europe, and he doesn't know when he's coming back. Which one? Finn. Jasper. Jasper, he's eight years old. Finn, who's 19. He's about to be 20. How do you feel about that? I think it's great. That's awesome. He's going to have the time of his life. I'm actually the one who told him. He just started just going to school and not...
And I go to school. He just started working and I go to school. I'm like, hey, you're not living here and just going to school. I mean, going to work. Sorry. I said, you have to do something. You either have to travel or you have to go to school. One or the other. I like that. How does he have the money to travel? Oh, this guy. Really? Have you met his dad? I've had him working since he was old enough to pick up a stick. He's got 40 grand in the bank. He's got easily 10 grand in the bank. So he saved the money. Saved the money. And he's going to go there. And he and his buddy are going to take him off and they're going to go. Oh, that's good that he's got a buddy. Oh, yeah. Incredible. Tell him not to watch the movie Hostel before he goes. Oh, gosh. Oh, gosh. You know what? I've never seen Hostel and that just scared the pants off me. Oh, don't watch it. Chances he spends most of his time in Amsterdam. Oh. Much as his father, Jay Isbell, would. I told him to bring me something home. Mule. I can't believe what I'm hearing. Hey, would you be a mule for me? I know, son. You bring me some space cakes back from Amsterdam, please. Bring me the velvet hammer. Oh, man. Son, here's what I want you to do, and this is a conversation my daddy had with me. Years ago. Years ago in Merchant Marines, when I was in Merchant Marines. He said to me, son, don't take any wooden nickels. And then he also told me this.
When you go to a country that sells some good hash, stick it in a rubber and eat it. Back then, we had actual mules. Yeah, mules. We actually fed them to mules. And then we shipped them over on a cargo ship. They'd poo, and then we'd take the herring. Rinse it. Rinse it off. The good thing was you could use the poo for other uses, too. Compost. Compost. My dad, if I went to my dad at 19, he was like, hey, here's the deal. I'm going to Europe. I don't know when I'm coming back. My dad would have been like, you go to Europe, you stay in Europe. Wow. He'd be angry with you? Yes. He'd be angry with me. He'd be like, hey. Work or go to school. Jay gives his kid the option, hey, you either go to school or you travel. What kid's going to be like, I think I'm going to go take some poli-sci. I'm going to do political science. He looks so good on his resume. When he comes back, he'll be able to talk. Because every interview I've ever been in, all they want to do is talk about what you've done. I traveled for three months. And then you have something in common. I have two-year-old twins, Luke and Ryan. And we're discovering Luke is very cautious.
He doesn't like to take chances. Really? No. He doesn't like to take chances. It used to be the joke that he was adventurous, blah, blah, blah. He's really not. He's much more scared of things, like his dad. Right. He's a lot like me. I think about a train across Europe, and here's what comes to mind. European body owner. Whole new level. A whole different kind. Upper echelon. Yes, it's an upper echelon body odor because here in America, there's a slight hint of suave. Yes. It's called deodorant. Yeah. Like, if Hannibal Lecter were smelling through the plexiglass holes, he would go, Lesbio, but I detect a slight bit of suave. It's four days old, isn't it, Stalin? Not.
In Europe, it's just straight up B.O., okay? And then I also, and the other thing that comes to mind on the train is pickpockets, okay? Yep, we've talked about it. Pickpockets. Real good over there. Pickpockets. Real good. You can buy a money belt. Nope, not me. I would get robbed. I'd have a money belt, and they'd rob it. No. They'd pickpocket it. Your problem would be, you'd be on the train, you'd have your laptop here, you'd have your iPad here, your iPod here, your iPhone there. They'd be like, oh, look at this mark. Yeah. We got this guy. Oh, man. You need to sit there and read like Tolstoy on the train, even if you're not reading it. Yeah, don't flash the goods. No. And I, here's the other deal. I don't like staying in places that are old. You hate old places. It's all old. Yeah, I know. That's the best part. I'm with you there. I'm with you there. I don't like the smell of old. I love the smell. He's getting a URL pass that will allow him to go through 22 countries. Really? That's incredible. Well, hey, it's a great thing. He's going to experience the world. You can't do it at my age. You just can't. I'm a married man. You can't go. She won't let me. I've tried. She won't let me. I've tried. M1 Megan from San Diego. Hi. Hey, how's it going? Good. How are you? Pretty good. Pretty early for you guys. Yeah.
Thank you. I just wanted to say, Jay, I did the same thing that your son did. I just graduated college, bought a one-way ticket to Europe and a URL pass that got me through all 22 countries and spent three months there, and it was the best decision of my life. Did you go there with a friend? I went there with a couple of friends, did some traveling on my own, met up with some other friends, so I just kind of did it all. I'd like to interview you if I could. Okay. Is that all right? Yeah, of course. Okay, and you promised to be honest with me. Completely honest. Were you scared? At first, a little bit, because it's a different kind of place and a different system and different cultures, but you get used to it and you adapt pretty quickly. Again, don't tell me what I want to hear. I want you to just, I'm prefacing everything with that. How long did it take for you to not be scared? There were always some scary parts, like going to the ghetto of Barcelona. I don't know how we got there, but it ended up happening. And kind of to your point, Mikey, there were some crazy people on the trains, a homeless guy that definitely reeked of European body odor. How long did you spend there? Three months. Oh, only three months. Yeah. During that three-month period of time, did you meet any European dudes that you liked? Well, I was currently in a relationship at the time, so...
Wasn't really looking, which was kind of nice, but... But yes. So yes. So yes. I just can't say it because I have a boyfriend. Did you cheat on your boyfriend in Europe? No, never. Oh, good. Giovanni. Yeah. What about Giovanni? Yeah. What about Giovanni? How about Giovanni from Rome? Slick dude. Are we forgetting about Giovanni from Rome? Slick dude. I mean, they sweet talk you, but they're all greasy Italian. Hey, what about... Hey. Hey. Hey, hey. Hey. What about... What about Carmine from Florentine? Yeah. Carmine from Brooklyn. Before you even left. Yeah. It's great. Well, it sounds like... There are definitely gross people on the trains, but the trains in general are very, very nice, and they can get you anywhere. You're glad you did it. I can tell. You're happy you did it. Well, the good thing Finn already has a body odor, so... No, no, he doesn't. Smelly 19-year-old boy. I'll put it right in. It's like anywhere, though. If you went to New York, you need to watch your back in New York when you're walking around the city, in Chicago. Yeah, but at least I speak the language. That's true. I'm on my home turf. I feel more comfortable. If I'm in Europe, man, nothing is familiar. Most Europeans speak English. Yeah, it's true. Most of them do. My friend actually got his train pass stolen our very first train ride. He's talking me out of it. I'm never going. Yeah.
Yeah. Big bucks. You just talked me right out of it. I will never, ever. It'll make him grow up real fast. I will never go. Yeah. Because of what you just said. All right. Well, thank you for the call. Yeah, of course. You guys have a good day. You too. There was no risk of me going anyway. There was a 0% chance that you were going to go tour Europe. Is it possible to be less than a 0%? Negative. Negative. Negative. That's so frightening. I'm afraid. So, hey, check this out. $17.8 million was just awarded to the family that had that airplane crash into the fighter jet, crash into their house. It happened back in 2008. So it's taken a few years for this lawsuit to actually, you know, get all figured out. But they wanted $56 million. They got 17. Now, I agree with what their attorney said, which was, you know, it shouldn't have taken this long to give this family money because their family was killed. You know, you can kind of see that point. You know what I mean? The house was destroyed. His whole life was destroyed. The house is nothing.
Four people died. Yeah, but I mean even to get back on his feet. Yeah, it's true. Yeah. Where's he supposed to live? Wife, kids. Mother-in-law. Mother-in-law. Total devastation. But $17.8 million to ease the pain. Now, if you got $17.8 million, what do you do? I mean, here's... I'll tell you why people that win the lottery get so bummed out. I think it's because... What if you would think that's the be-all, end-all of everything and it's having all the dough. So if you experience unhappiness after winning the lottery, you're like, oh, crap. I got nowhere left to go. Right. Because this is as good as it gets. Right. So now what? I guess I'm toast. You know, that would be a bad thing. But $17.8 million, and they obviously said, there's no amount of money that'll bring my family back.
There it is. A whack job with a ponytail is responsible for burning those cars in L.A. Okay? He's a 24-year-old kid named Harry Burkhardt. It's already news that there's a 24-year-old named Harry. Yes. Because I've never heard of a 24-year-old named Harry. Prince Harry. That's it. That's the only one. And he's British. Yeah. Feast. Harry Potter. You don't meet a lot of... Harry Potter. Another British Harry. You don't meet a lot of 21-year-old Edgars? No. You just don't? I've known one Edgar in my life, and he was younger than me. Are you serious? Yes, and he went by Matt. Of course. I'd go by Steve. I'd go by John. Anything. My real name's Edgar. But I go by Brenda because it's less embarrassing. What the heck? Harry Burkhart, 24 years old. Ponytailed up real good. Oh, yeah. Decided that he was going to burn... A lot of cars in Los Angeles over the New Year's Eve. He did a lot of damage, man. $3 million in damage. 50 arson attacks. They caught him on video. Now, his mom is just as crazy. Because she is up on 19 counts. She's from Germany. She's up on 19 counts of fraud.
She didn't pay for a 2004 boob job she got. She pilfered security deposits from her renters. And this is apparently what got Harry, the ponytailed son, all mad. Because his mom was getting in trouble? Yeah, because his mom was, you know, a wreck. I mean, it doesn't make sense. Sounds awesome. But anyway, so she's in jail yesterday, goes in front of a judge named Margaret. Another name you don't hear very often. But she went in front of Margaret and said, what'd you do to my son? Margaret responded, I'm not here to address anything related to your son. Well, I could do, right? I could do. No bail. No bail for either one of them. Of course not. They're both being held, and there is no chance of bail. Like I said, they caught him on security cameras. They caught him on security cameras. I wonder how that works for him in jail.
You know the pecking order in jail? Like, murderers are really hard. Rapists. Child. Pedophiles. Who's the arsonist? Where does the arsonist find? Where does he fit in? I've always, like, you know, I'm curious about stuff like that. He's an outcast. He is? He's the guy that sits in the corner and, like, eats his own hair and stuff? Well, what I think is interesting is what do the prisoners think of him? That's what I want to know. They come up with nicknames for him, like Torch. Torch. Stuff like that. Or hothead. You're a real hothead. That's all they do is sit around and think up jokes about hothead and stuff like that. He just plays solitaire and they're like lifting weights and they're having fun. They're watching TV playing dominoes. They come by, flip over his peas. See, I would think that in jail, your hierarchy is like the dudes that, you know, armed robbery, that kind of stuff. The guys that probably didn't hurt anybody, but they did something that the prisoners would consider to be. Rough. But, like, I think murderers would be the most respected and feared. Yeah, feared. It just depends on if they're gang-affiliated. Right. You know what I mean? But the arsonist is such a weird... I even think the drug dealer... I bet they wouldn't like him. I bet the drug dealers... I bet the drug dealers are higher than the arsonists. Yeah, oh, yeah. Because they're like, oh, yeah, a guy used to sell great weed or whatever, you know? The arsonist, I think, is...
He's a nerd. Yeah, he's a nerd of jail. Like, what are you, lighting stuff on fire and running away? That's fascinating. Dude, you're a dork. I bet that's what it is. You're a dork. You're a dork. You're a dork. You're like a jail nerd. He's playing with matches? Yeah. What are you, five? He's the Eagle Scout. Yeah, exactly. Maybe hotwire a car, all right, pal? You want to be tough? Did you start with a magnifying glass? Is that what guy you said? Is that your gateway? Is that the gateway? Fascinating. That is. 5701949 is our number. I bet they wouldn't let him have cigarettes. No more cigarettes in jail, by the way. Anywhere. Nationally? Nationally. Oh my gosh, that must have caused problems. Brutal. When did that go in? It's been around for a while, but you can't smoke in any jails or prisons. That's too bad. Wow. So that means that if you get any length of time... One positive is... You quit smoking. Yeah, there you go. You're not a smoker anymore. Now your life is prolonged. Unless you smuggle them in. Some people believe that quitting smoking is harder than quitting heroin. Yep. This is the hardest thing to quit. I had a brutal time quitting. I had a brutal time quitting. It took the nicotine patch and chewing on pens. And that was terrible. Yep. You're not trying to quit though, are you, Woods? I'm not talking about it. Oh.
I'm not mentioning or saying anything. My silence speaks volumes. Oh. I did not know. I'm not really silent. I was on the radio. I didn't know. I couldn't just sit here and not say anything. That's why you're so cranky. Oh. Oh, Jay said that. I'm not cranky. And then he just, he kind of, yeah, I got you. I got you. I got you, Chubbies. Now I found out why you're on your myriad. Yeah. Do anything. You got a man pony. You feel me? I just came back a-shinked it. That's right. You don't want to talk about it? Uh-uh. You don't want to jinx it, or you don't want people to... I just don't want to talk about it. There's a couple things that I'm not willing to talk about on the air. That's one of them. What? I'm going to leave it. I'm going to let people wonder. Well, this is a new thing, because Woods has done this before. Right. Tried to quit smoking, and he's let us know. Yeah. So something must have happened that burned the boy's fingers, and he doesn't want to touch the hot stove again. Ah. I'm slowly learning my lessons in this lifetime, my friend.
I'm guessing, I don't want to mention names, but his initials are Jay Isbell. What about him? He gave you such a hard time. No, it really wasn't Jay. It was just you didn't like it? No, it was mostly listeners. Oh. Yeah. They'll get you. They'll get you. They'll hold you to it. M1s will hold you to stuff. M1 Jordan's brother is a corrections officer. You're from Carlsbad? Yeah, how you doing, man? Good. So what's the story? What can you tell me? He said that they do smuggle in cigarettes all the time, but they absolutely barely even crack down on that because they smuggle in cell phones, little, not the iPads, but the iPod. He said they're bringing those in all the time. Smuggling in so much stuff that they can't control the cell phones in prison. That's insane, man. You can't just go into their cells and check for stuff? I guess not. There should just be no reception for cell phones. I think that's the most dangerous time when you go in the prisoner's cell, unless you go in there when he's not there. I got a great story about a friend that actually smuggled me in when I was in jail. I had a little vacation for DUI. Smuggled me in some bandits, which are pouches filled with tobacco.
I had him drop him in a trash can, and I did the trash. So he did. Wow. Wow. Did you wear a hairnet? No. You know that guy. He's a friend of ours. He did it for you? He was so nervous. So nervous. He walked by. He threw like, you know, like you're throwing away a tin. You know me. You know I wouldn't have done it. There's no way. Yeah, I didn't do it for you. I know Jay would have. I'm not going to break the law for people. Well, all he was doing technically was throwing away a can of skull. That's it. That's it. And I fished it out of there and made it right for myself. Hey, a huge announcement with the Chargers having to do with Norv Turner yesterday, and Woods will tell you all about it coming up next. Mikey Show, FM 94.9. Yeah, good morning. It's the Mikey Show. Open phone lines, 570-1949. We're ready to take your calls. We're going to be talking Chargers. That was the big news yesterday, man. What Dean Spanos came out and said yesterday was dominating the news, not just here, but nationally. It's a national story. Before we do that, real quick, I just want to let everybody know I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show. I am 41. Woodsy is a very good friend of mine.
I've known him for over a decade. That's right. Met him in Dallas, Texas. He looked just like Robert Downey Jr. And he is our sports guy. Lauren O'Brien is the blonde girl to my right. She's a stand-up comic. Jay is... And a diver. And apparently a diver. Yes. Jay is our sound effects guy, I guess. Some chicken wings. You know, he loves orange soda. It's all true. It's so hard to look at Jay when he plays those little clips because he moves his mouth like a mannequin. He mouths them. It's like somebody has their hand in his mouth. He's the dummy of the ventriloquist. Orange soda. Smoke some weed. Chicken wing. Very nice. He is a very wise man. Word of the day is bottle. And so sometime between now and nine, I will say bottle. And when I do, caller number nine gets a Madden 12 football for Nintendo Wii and a $50 gift card to Dave and Busters. Nice.
Boom. That's a pretty nice prize. And open phone lines for you, 570-1949. The word is bottle. So, Woods, tell the world what happened yesterday. If you were living under a rock or in a cave, then you hadn't heard that the San Diego Chargers and President Dean Spanos have decided to keep Norv Turner. and A.J. Smith, the coach and the GM, respectively. Two more years left on Norv's deal at $3 million per was probably just too much for him to swallow, to buy him out. But, you know, he said, hey, listen, these guys know how to win in this league. All right. Eight and eight this year. Didn't make the playoffs the last two years. Yeah, I mean, my wife Rebecca goes, A.J.'s got something on Dean. Something. Nudie pictures. I mean, what is? Right. I mean, it's just, well, here's the deal. I like A.J. Well, I think A.J. Smith's a darn good GM. I really do. Woods is tough on him because Woods thinks, well, he drives too hard of a bargain. Should have had Jackson on the field last season. Ten games, losing your number one receiver. Yeah. I mean, Malcolm Floyd's good, but, you know. But he's not Vincent Jackson. So, I get what you're saying.
You know, they said it on CNNSI this morning. They said, commitment to mediocrity. And there was a picture of Norv, and I went, oh. Yikes. That's pretty rough. That is tough. Well, what do you think, Woods? Well, I think, you know, I said it yesterday. My gut tells me they'll be back. Greg Minoski is probably going to get. get canned as the defensive coordinator. They had asked Dean Spanos in a little Q&A about, hey, are you going to make any other coaching changes? And he said, look, right now we're going to do some meetings, the GM and the head coach. We're going to get a complete evaluation from them on who should stay and who should go. One thing that was greatly improved this year, I think, was special teams. Special teams was the demise of the Chargers last year. Better this year. That's true. Defense, not so good. Not so much. And what do you think about Norv Stan. I think that there was a window to get maybe a better guy right now. But, again, I'd have a hard time paying somebody that much dough to sit at home and finish. Oh, hi, Norv. That doesn't sound very supportive of me, you know?
I've told you before, I can't get on the field and play the game. That's left up to the players. That is true. And I will give you a little bit of a pass in that you did have a lot of injuries to deal with, but that's nothing new for an NFL coach. I have no idea about the injuries. Well, you did. You had a lot of injuries this year. Not you personally, but your team. Like what? Well, Marcus McNeil was out. He hurt his neck. He's a terrific player. Right. Yes, he was out. Oh, I bet that hurt the team. Yeah. Sure did. Anybody else? Tons of people. I mean, tons and tons of guys were banged up. Your offensive line was basically patchwork all year. Oh, that's just terrible. You didn't know this? Well, I mean, I'm paying attention to some of the other things that are important. There's other things that are important on a football team. Like? Well, last week. I'll give you a for instance. When we were flying back from our away game, there's a couple of guys that are allergic to peanuts. And they carry an EpiPen. Right. And if they get any peanuts in the air, they've got to slam the EpiPen into their butt or into their thigh and shoot it so they don't go into anaphylactic shock. Right. That's actually an EpiPen we just heard. Yeah. And here's the deal. It was a...
I believe it was our fullback. I forget his name. Your fullback is, what the hell is his name? You got me. What the hell is his name? I don't know. Hester. Jacob Hester. Jacob Hester. Devin Hester. I don't know. Anyway, his girlfriend made him a peanut butter jelly sandwich. He brought it on board and he shared it with one of those dudes who went into anaphylactic shot. That was on the way home from an away game. That's right. It happened in the air. Luckily, we were diverted to Yuma International Airport, and nobody was hurt, but that could have been bad. That could have been very bad. It would have been another injury. I've got a question. Why do I sound so much like Bill Clinton? That is a good question. I don't know. I don't know, Norv, why you do, but that's one of the things that I've never really liked about you. Remember, I grew up in Dallas, and you were on a great run of coordinating Super Bowls. Even then, I thought, man, that dude just is not very confidence-inspiring. A lot of your favorite quarterbacks, guys, you coached said that, hey, you're great. Well, that's great, but I'm just wondering why I sound so much like Bill Clinton. You know, I don't know. I'm tired Bill Clinton. Your voice is always a little trembly, and you always sound a little unsure. Oh, you just reminded me. Okay, now I remember. Now I remember. That's the deal.
You need a little swagger, Norv. You got to have some balls, Norv. Yeah. Listen, you don't worry about my balls. Okay. That's for Mrs. Turner to worry about. That's for Mrs. Turner. None of your business. Well, they're back. So, listen, mark it, write it down, whatever you got to do. If they don't make the freaking playoffs next year, he's out the next day. Black Monday, Norv Turner, first guy gone. However, what do you need to keep him for that last year? Do you need a deeper run through the playoffs? Wait a minute, Woods. Wait. Here's my question to you. If Dean Spanos didn't fire him now, what makes you think he'd fire him then? Because nobody will go to those games. Okay. It will be. If they go three years in a row. Dude. I mean, he better start. If they are out of the playoffs with a couple weeks left, he should go ahead and just quit. Because he's out. They have to win every game next season by 40 points.
Seriously. I mean, you've seen how the fans react. When they were 4-1, people were like, it sucks. It sucks, man. They're not blowing guys out. M1 Eric from Chula Vista, you there? Yeah. What do you think? Oh, man. Guys, my whole thing on Nord Turner, and I've thought this the whole time, he took Marty's team from 14-2, made the playoffs. Yeah. Team championship, whatever. Made the playoffs again. Awesome year again. Then he is just slowly. slowly drug this team down, killed this fan base. And I'm not even a Charger fan. I just live here, so I have to listen to all these yahoos. Absolutely horrible what Spanos is doing. AJ, he cannot negotiate himself out of a wet paper bag. He takes a 6-5 receiver. Those just don't pop out of the draft every now and then. They don't want to pay him. I understand about his TDYs. I think Jackson's an idiot for doing that anyway. They're trying to negotiate for like $40 million.
guarantees or whatever. But the whole thing is, dude, negotiate. Give him some incentives. Hey, don't be a dummy. We'll pay you. That makes good sense. Well, yeah, man. Look, I mean, Michael Vick, right, goes to prison for dogfighting, serves his time, comes out, gets a $100 million contract. $100 million. And you're not going to give Vijay, who is almost dynamic, I mean, you're not going to, the guy got a DUI and it was freaking stupid. He did what he's supposed to do. He's out of it. What does a guy do on the field? It's the NFL. You can't really take that hard line approach with these guys. All those guys get in trouble. Most of them. It's not just Vincent Jackson that he's taking a hard line with. Hell no. Takes a hard line with a lot of guys. I don't know. Did you guys see Sprolesy this year running down in New Orleans? The guy's on his way to a Super Bowl more than likely. He was ridiculous. Young. It's like, come on, dude. Iowa caucus was last night. You can't say that on the radio. It's so funny. It sounds like caca. It sounds like a lot of things. Yeah, it does. Oh, boy. But anyway, who emerged in the GOP? Mitt Romney. Eight. Eight. Eight. Eight votes. Single digits. Can you believe that that's what got Mitt Romney to win that thing? I cannot. Holy cow.
Over Rick Santorum. I don't know much about that cat, Rick Santorum. Me either. I need to do some research. I feel like... I know one thing about him that you will hate, Woods. What's that? He made a very... Remember Hannity? You remember when Hannity was Hannity and Combs? Uh-huh. Well, he was talking about Alan Combs. And he referenced Alan Combs' dead child. Ooh. Oh. He referenced it. And the reason that he referenced it is because Alan Combs did what a lot of people thought was very odd. When his wife lost the baby, they brought the baby home even though it was dead. Right. And listen, people can grieve whatever way they want to grieve. You grieve how you got it. You grieve what you want to. Definitely. It's not my style, but. Right. And Santorum. made some reference to it. Man, that is never okay. That is off limits forever. Yeah, there's things that are off limits and things that you can go after. You can't do that. You can't go after that. So anyway, Rick Santorum came in second place to Mitt Romney and Ron Paul was third. So now we'll see what happens in New Hampshire and I guess who's your dude from your boy from Texas? Rick Perry.
He's going back to Texas today to reevaluate whether or not he... Strap out, pal. Wow. Probably done. Slickster. Now, this is funny. Listen to this. This is Clinton County in Iowa. You're about to hear the lovely chairwoman, Edith Pfeiffer. She is the woman that woke up in the middle of the night to be told about the results. And this woman is what you would call something else. Take a listen. Well, let me just double check with Carolyn and Edith. Do you have all the numbers from all the precincts? How many precincts are there in Clinton County? There are 30 precincts. Of all 30, as far as you know, reported? Oh, yes. Every single one? Every single one. And what's the total for Clinton County, Romney, Santorum, Paul? Oh, are they crap? I have a double. God, I added them up. I added them up a couple times. Oh, man. I showed Romney coming up with a total of 437 votes. This is real, by the way. You are not listening to Saturday Night Live. Lest you think you're listening to Saturday Night Live. You're not. This is real. For Clinton County, Santorum had 354.
Perry had 73. Paul had 292. Wait, wait, wait. Paul had 291, 292, 293. Oh, I lost it. 1, 2, 3. 12. Dinrich 151. Michelle Bachman, 62. Oh, my God. And there were five votes for Herman Cain. Reality show, reality show. That would be the difference, Wolf. That would be the difference because the numbers we've received from the state had Romney at 386, Santorum at 321, Ron Paul at 262. If we go through the top three, she just said Romney gets 437, Santorum 354, Ron Paul 292. That right there would be enough. If this is the missing precinct, that would be enough right there to make Mitt Romney. Narrowly, narrowly. That's the 3% that's still missing there. Can you guys shut up and get back to Edith? Yeah. Central Committee to clear this up. But the numbers we're receiving from the state do not match the numbers we just received from the county chairwoman right here in Clinton County. If these are the final numbers. She takes umbrage with that. Oh, yes, she does. She takes a little bit of umbrage with that. We'll just back that up just a tad. That would be enough right there to make Mitt Romney.
Narrowly, narrowly. If this is what's missing and we need the state central committee to clear this up, but the numbers we're receiving from the state do not match the numbers we just received from the county chairwoman right here in Clinton County. If these are the final numbers. What do you mean the numbers don't match? Well, I'll explain it. I'll explain it to you. John, you go ahead and explain it. The numbers, Madam Chairwoman, I'm not questioning your numbers. I'm saying the numbers you're giving us now. do not match the numbers that the state central committee. Who do you think you're talking about? Who are you? From your county, and they say one precinct is missing. So if your numbers are that missing precinct, and these are the final numbers from Clinton County, excuse my scribble, but 436. Well, excuse my French. Screw you. If you don't mind, excuse my French. Counting me since you were in diapers. That's right. Excuse my French, everybody in America. Thank you. Not 386, 354, not 321. We can stop right there. Well, if that would make Romney the winner narrowly in the state of Iowa, we think we've solved the problem, but we're not the official voice here. Matt Strong, the state Republican chairman, would be the one who has to make this decision in the end. And I'm sure the chairman's having a delightful evening. Carolyn or Edith, do you want to add anything to this conversation? Are they smoking marijuana? They are, clearly.
Is this an old lady marijuana party? I think it's laughing gas. It's laughing gas. It could be. Carolyn or Edith, anything else you want to tell our viewers? No, I just know that those figures were originally called in at 748 by the person in charge from that precinct. Identical. Rocky from Rocky and Bowie. Identical. Identical Rockies from Rocky and Bullwinkle. The precinct chair and secretary. Oh, my gosh. And now here's something you'll really like. They sat down and completed all their forms, and then they brought me up the forms. Now, wait a second. We're still counting some of the precincts that are coming. That's pretty good. I came home.
How crazy is that? It's genius. It's genius stuff. So that's viral today. All of that conversation that you just heard is viral today. People are sending it to each other because it's just so funny. I mean, what a character. Did it take her any amount of time to start blaming her husband for passing her the right papers? Right? You're such an idiot. Why are you giving me that? I don't. The one on the coffee table, I said. That's from yesterday. In my glove compartment, I said. fine-tuned system we have, isn't it? They're, like, making phone calls. Some broads in our living room, like, one, two. Hold on. Brilliant. Gosh, darn. We can put a man on the moon, but we can't figure out how to count. Votes. Yep. 16-foot waves are going to be hitting San Diego. Jay? Mm-hmm. You going to surf, Jay? I don't think so. Yeah, it's kind of heavy out there. Yeah, I mean... Sounds big.
That's too big, right? Yeah, well, I mean, you have to go look at it and see what it's doing. If it's A-framing, maybe. Explain. Well, if it's kind of doing this, where it's like an A-frame, it's a little slower on the uptake. Or if it's tossing, you know, where it's slowly. No, I don't know. But the lip's throwing. And it's like, so when you go to take off on the board, it just launches you out. You just pit straight down. You just get spit right out of it. Yeah, okay. Gnarly. Get pitted. So pitted. Dude, you got the best barrels ever, dude. Well. Even a 16-foot wave is too big for Jay. Yeah. Just depends on, like he was saying, if it's walling up, it means it's just going from, like, one straight thing. And there's nowhere for you to go. If it's more like an A with a slope, you can go left or right. Swamis would be the place to watch it. I'm sure it's going to be, because Swamis will hold that kind of swell. I want to go look at it. I just want to go watch it. I bet guys won't be, like, pissed. Oh, for sure. There won't be one pissed off guy. You just get spit right out of him. Two or three guys dropping at the same time with no place to go. Yeah, just like point break. Dude, you got the best barrels ever, dude. Get off my wave. You hear what? Your wave. Zip code, dude. Whoop-a. Whoop-a. You just come out. Whoop-a. Whoop-a.
Back to the valley, man. Well, how does it work when you're coming out? Are you actually coming out on the top? You just get spit right out of it. Oh, you get spit right out of it. That's when it's bad. Got it. So 16-foot waves, and I'm with Woods. I would love to just see it. Oh, watch. Yeah, go by and see it. Super Bowl ad time has sold out. Weird. Already? Of course. It is so good. And a $50 gift card to Dave and Buster's. Boom. Yeah, so I mentioned it, but the Super Bowl ad time is sold out. We're going to play catchphrase here in just a second. Super Bowl ad time has sold out already. I mean, that's probably the quickest I've seen it happen. But $3.5 million for 30 seconds. Wow.
Wow. Shatters the old record. Three and a half mil, 30 seconds. You got to be a rich company. No recession problems for them, I guess. Right? I mean, seriously. Holy cow. You look at that and you go, where's the recession? Yeah. Cars. That's going to be a big deal. Weird. Automobiles. And then there's some first-time people that are stepping up. First-timers. You never forget your first time. That's true. That's true, Woods. You're going to see for the first time a Dannon yogurt commercial. Can't wait. That's a lot of yogurt. They're selling a lot of yogurt if they're able to do that. So they're going to be doing their first-time deal. You better be funny. Yeah, you better be good. You're not funny. I'm not buying. Or, like... Topless girls smearing yogurt on each other would be good, too. Probably be Jamie Lee Curtis. Oh, my God. Yeah. I'm here to talk to you about Activia. When I can't poo, I eat Activia. Embracing the silver fox look. Oh, my God. So much. Jamie, we wanted to do a little color. No. No, no. I'm going to go with the silver. Oh, all right. Century 21. You're going to see them for the first time. National but neighborly. Mm-hmm.
And then Danica Patrick and Jillian Michaels are going to be on a GoDaddy commercial. I don't know this Jillian Michaels that you speak of. You do not? No, but I like Danica Patrick. Jillian Michaels, Biggest Loser. She also is on all these infomercials for different exercise machines. Foxy? I think so. Yeah, very buff. She will kick your butt. Oh, yeah. She's going to be in a very racy Go Daddy commercial that's going to have the Pussycat Dolls. Timely. Very. Relevant. They're going to actually have the cast from Cats. Yes. It's going to be amazing. And then Ted Danson and all of the guys from Cheers are going to come out. Yeah, John Ratzenberger will be there. George Wendt will be there. We've got Phoebe and Ross. Phoebe and Ross will be there. Oh, that's fantastic. Edith Bunker may be showing up. Mr. Furley. The MASH, the surviving members of MASH. Alan Alda, absolutely.
So anyway, there's a deal. The Super Bowl ads have sold out. Let's play some catchphrase. Oh, boy. This is a fun game. You call us at 5701949. M1, meet a reader from Oceanside. What team would you like, Mikey or Woods or Jay and Lauren? I'll take Woods to Esparza. There you go. There you go. Hang on the line. And M1, hot for teacher from La Jolla. You've got Jay and L-O-B. All right. Let's take it home, guys. Let's do it. Let's do this. Category people? It's up to the person who starts. You can start, Woods. All right, we're going to do sports and games then. All right, so the way that this game works is Woods has to describe something to me, and I've got to describe something to him. Lauren has to describe something to Jay. He's got to describe something to Lauren. Here we go. We're mind-melding. Yes. Ready? Mm-hmm. This is a sport where you kick the ball. Soccer. And this is the person that stops that person from kicking. Soccer goalie. Yep. Oh, you would do this instead of using a boogie board. You just go. Oh, bodyboarding. Body surfing. Yes. Oh, gosh. Oh, gosh. At the beginning of a football game, it's the. The kickoff. Yes. Oh, wow. You go there and you dump this. Dribble. Basketball court. Yes. Oh, gosh. Wow. Wow. Oh, Harvey Danger had this song. It was their only hit.
I don't remember it. Okay. You hoist the American flag. Flag pulling. Flag pull sitter. Yes. Oh, my God. Oh, gosh. It's the thing you don't want behind your neck. Yes. How did you get that? Yes. As soon as you said flag pull, I remember the song flag pull sitter. Wow. How did I pull Harvey Danger? I don't know. Harvey Danger. And when you said hoist. That's right, isn't it? Harvey Danger. Yeah, it's Harvey Danger. When you said hoist, you know what came out of my mind? For no reason, cannonball. I'm like, cannonball, you hoist a cannonball. No, you don't. So team one gets a point. Team one got a point, and now it begins on me or Mike? Mike. Okay. First one to four is the winner. Oh, I still don't have the thing. Yeah, I'm working on it. All right, are you ready? Yeah. I press start, right? Yeah. Oh, this is easy for you. When you're playing baseball, sometimes you will take a... A grounder. Ground ball. There. Oh, my gosh. Usher? It's a game, I think, with marbles. It's a game with marbles. Oh, my gosh. Cat in the cradle. It's kind of like you bang a... Jax.
No, you bang a, it's a big round thing. Oh, gong. Gong. But it's a different. Gong show. No, it's like a game with marbles. Not your dad, but your. Jack, your mom. Yeah. Mom gong. You're so close. Mom gong. It starts with a different letter, the second thing. Mom gong. Mom. Mom mong. What does my name start with? Mom gong. Mom gong. Yes. He had it in his hand. He had it in his hand. Crap. Is that a game with marbles? I think it's with these weird tiles. Can I just recognize some brilliance for a moment? Because I know everyone missed it. Jay goes, oh my gosh. And Lauren blurts out, Usher? Oh, it's a song? Oh, my gosh. Oh, wow. I thought, no, now you're not brilliant. Oh, I thought that he was saying, oh, my gosh, and you were like, he must be thinking of Usher. There's a song called OMD by Usher. Team one gets another point, so it's two to nothing. You ready, pal? You ready? Yes, I'm mind melding. All right, here we go. Oh, this was a band. It's a question.
They made jeans with a little triangle. Guess. Okay. The guess who? Yes. Oh, my. Oh, boy. If you're not telling the truth, you're a... Liar. Yeah, and then you roll the... Lie and dice. No. It belongs to that person that doesn't tell the truth. Pants. No, no, no, no. You had the two words right. Lie, dice. No. If you don't tell the truth, you're a... Liar. And if the things that you throw belong to you, they'd be the... They'd be the... They'd be the... They'd be... It's the possession of... My dice. Oh, no. Liar dice. Liar dice. Yes. Oh, wow. Never heard of it. When you want three points, you... Kick a field goal. Yep. Oh, my. You collect these, and it's for players... Yeah! Dang it. Yes. Baseball card. What the heck is liar dice? We only do one more, right? What are liar dice? I don't know. I don't know. I thought it was liar's dice. Liar's dice. Liar's dice. I don't even know what it is. Eat it in. I don't know. All right. Last one. Ready? Yes. Well, maybe. Ready? Yes. In golf, when you hit a bad shot, you take a... Handicap. No. I don't know if you know it because it's one word. I had a bad shot. You know what? I'm going to take a...
It's a do-over. It's another word for do-over. It's like an Irish word. A do-ly. No. Keep going. Any way you can describe it. It has the first. Okay. Martin. He's an actor. Martin. He was in Mr. Mom. Martin. Scorsese. No. He was the boss. He was not Mr. Mom. He was the boss. Martin. Sheen. No. Keep going. Martin. Short. Same initial as your first name. M. It's a monkey. You're close. You're close. No. A mulligan. A mulligan. Martin Mull. I've heard that. Yeah, I've heard that. I didn't know for you. Team Cup, they talked about it. There's no way. I love Mikey. Mikey's eyes were big and round. And you tried your... I tried everything. You tried everything you could. Martin Mull. Pick a different category, LLB, for gosh sakes. Oh, I can? No, you can't. Yeah, you can. Anybody who's starting can pick a category.
Let's go with entertainment. Entertainment. We've done those, I think. Okay, well. Food. Food. There we go. Okay, you chew on it. Gum. Yes, and then it's three parts. Spearmint gum. No, it doesn't have any sweetener in it, so it's... Sugarless gum. Close. Sugar-free gum. Yes. Fight foot. You put this in soups. Consomme. No, it's... Crackers. Oyster crackers. No. It's organic because it comes from a tree. It's a type of... And it's shaped like this. It's a... A leaf? A basil leaf? A basil leaf? A basil... It's that. It's that. But you're saying it wrong. Basil leaf. Basil leaf. Basil... You don't know what that's called? You're saying it, but... Shorten the word basil. Basil leaves. Shorten that first word. Base leaves. Base leaves. Bay. Bay leaves. Yes. Oh, my. Oh, it's got a weird shape, too. Yes. Holy cow. I was not doing a fake bit. I had no idea. I had no idea.
Game 1-1. That got me. That was easy. I don't know why you're saying it that way. He's like, basil leaf, basil leaf. I'm like, what? What's basil leaf? Basil leaf. Basil leaf. Isn't it a basil leaf? No, it's bay leaf. Oh, isn't there something called basil? Yeah. There is, but that's different. That's different? Yeah. Bay leaf, it's like all dried out. It's a dry. What am I? It's freaking, what's his name? The chef? Yes. Bobby Flay. Bobby Flay. Is that what you're thinking? No, I was thinking that Emeril guy. Emeril, bam! You get it in a jar, Woods. Yeah. They got, like, you buy it for $1.25. It's got six dried leaves in it. Right, right. And you just... It's a fake bit. You cook with it, and then you take it out. I think it's a fake bit. Oh, it's good. I had a girlfriend that used to make spaghetti sauce with one of those in there, and inevitably, I would always get it on my fork and be like... Oh, yeah, you're supposed to take it out at the end. Yes, you are, and I believe it's a fake bit. Every mother puts it in their spaghetti sauce, but it doesn't really do anything. I do it. I would love to be able to try one against the other and be like, ooh, the flavor of this bay leaf is just, it really perfumes the sauce. Elton John wants Justin Timberlake to portray him, if a movie is ever to be made, about him. He would like...
For Justin to be the one. That's right. The reason I would like for you to be the one... I'm very honored, man. Let me start by saying I'm very, very honored that you would pick me. I do pick you. Let me ask you, Elton. To be my lawfully wedded husband. You already married, fool. Sorry about that. Why do... Justin Timberlake doesn't look anything like you. He's American. Actually, I'm looking at him now, and it's like looking in a mirror. That's right. Except not at all. Except that he's not dressed as a duck. And he doesn't have on oversized sunglasses. Right. And a rainbow afro wig. Hey, EJ, I got a great idea. Please don't call me EJ. Sorry, Elton. Listen, I know who can play Bernie Taupin. Nick Lachey. Done deal. Just a couple of boy bands. Nick Lachey, man. You had me at Bernie Taupin. Sounds like a good movie. I can play. That's one of the craziest references I've ever heard. I can play. I can sing. I do everything, man. I do everything. The only difference? I don't like dudes. Can you do the British accent? Yeah, hold on. I'm going to try it. Yo, what's up, mate? That's not British. That's my Australian. Oh, sorry. Cheerio, mate. That's not the way we sound. Hey, don't edit all that out. Be all right.
I appreciate it, EJ. I'm going to do you proud, man. I'm going to do you proud. Don't you not call me that. Any shirtless scenes, possibly? If I took my shirt off, you would have to lift my breasts with a forklift. This is Mikey talking, by the way. I mean, I'm just saying. Oh, my gosh. I would watch it. I'm in. Apparently, he's played him before. Yeah, he did. I love Elton John, so I'd be in on it. I did, too. Justin Timberlake's a decent actor. He's not bad. Hey, we're going to have Todd Marinovich on the show today. Yes, we are. I can't wait to talk to him. If you are a fan of ESPN's 30 for 30, they did a story on him. Even if you haven't seen it, even if you haven't seen the 30 for 30, it doesn't matter because he has such a fascinating story. Todd Marinovich was supposed to be the next, he was supposed to be the greatest quarterback to ever play the game, practically.
And his dad was an absolute taskmaster. But Todd Marinovich did play at USC. Yeah. And then he went on to play for the Raiders. Southern California in the white. And Todd Marinovich comes out. To play in this game is the dream of every kid who plays football in this conference. Marinovich fans. He's got it. It's good. His dad had robo'd him all the way to this. Great pinnacle. He earned his place in history of USC. He won a Rose Bowl. That's it. You won the Rose Bowl at USC, you can die now. That was the pinnacle of college football in those days. You know, Woods said it, and I agree with Woods. One of the things that captured Woods about the documentary that really stood out to you was him saying, just because you're good at something doesn't mean that you're supposed to do it. That's exactly right, man. I mean, it just blew my mind when he said it. After his freshman year, he went home to his mom and he said, look, I don't want to be Todd Marinovich anymore. I've been doing this.
When all the other kids, it shows, remember, it says, when all the other kids were going away for their summer break, they were surfing and skating and doing all the fun stuff. They're having a summer. He was in the gym. We're talking eighth grade. We're not talking high school. His father used him as an experiment. In essence, his father used him as an experiment. And his dad, who's featured in the documentary, is still pretty resolved to his ways. I mean, there's, you see. In this documentary, maybe one crack in the dike at one point where he says, well, maybe I pushed him a little hard. Yeah. But I don't get it. At least from what I got, because maybe you interpret it different. I didn't get a dad that was like, I'm so sorry in remorse for what I've done. You know, he wanted him so badly to succeed as a professional athlete and to be a robo athlete that when he was a baby and teething, they gave him frozen chicken livers. to teeth with yeah yeah he used to go into his crib at night and take his legs and pull his legs and stretch his hamstrings when he was an infant and stretch out his legs and do stretches and i mean it sounds insane it started it started from day one with this guy and read him the old saying was and i think they might have dispelled it in the documentary but you know hey they did an article on him in california magazine he was the cover when he was in high school
And it said, hey, this kid's never had a Big Mac. He's never had a milkshake. Never had a French fry. Now, he claims that that isn't true. Marinovich claims that's not true. Right. That's why they dispelled it. And when we talk to him, I want to ask him about that. What I want to know is, okay. So why'd they say it? How strict was it? How strict was it? Right. What, you know, how often did you have, how many Big Macs did you have? Right. Well, and then what happened to him was, if you don't know, he got into high school and he started kind of lashing out a little bit and he wanted to be around people. He had bad social anxiety. He started smoking pot. Yeah. And that went from pot to. And his parents split. Yeah. Parents split up. It affected his head. Yep. And then he went into college, and it just spiraled. And he's at USC. He's the star quarterback at USC. He's in Hollywood. He can get his hands on anything, and everybody wants to give it to him. And he took it. He took it all. Yeah, and he got addicted to drugs. Bad. What was he on? Everything. He used to take LSD before games because it wouldn't show up in a drug test. He did math. He did coke. Wow. How could you play? I know. Oh, my God. This is a guy, by the way.
Talking about Todd Marinovich. Todd Marinovich. He was coming off of heroin. He was kicking heroin. He didn't have time to go get more dope before this football game when he was playing in, I believe, the Arena League. He literally was warming up and went number two in his pants. In his game pants. He goes to the equipment manager. He goes, I need an extra pair of pants. And the guy goes, well, this is the last one. He's so sick. The equipment manager says, Be careful because this is the last pair I have for you. He goes out that day, kicking and withdrawing from heroin, throws 10 touchdown passes. I don't care what league you're playing in. If you've got uniforms and guys are trying to kill you, 10 touchdown passes is a big deal. It means that he had an incredible gift as an athlete. Freakish. But he was also good at something else. He was also an incredible artist. And that's what he wanted to do. But he just happened to be very, very gifted as an athlete. Very much. And he had, and he'd probably admit, he had a pretty bad attitude when he was at SC. And the coach that he was playing for, Larry Smith, was, you know, to put it blatantly, he was kind of a jerk. And it shows him on the sideline. Did you see that? Yeah. On the sideline. And he is cursing him out. And he's got his finger in his face, calling him every name he can in the book. It's just.
He would call an audible. He would change the play out there. And they were always looking for it. And he would throw a touchdown pass. By changing the play. And the coach would be mad. Yep, coach would be mad. Yeah, it was a power struggle. Yeah, sounds like it. Typical of what Todd has had all of his life is people want to be around him. There's a guy that he would bring drugs all the time for free just to be his buddy. So a guy comes and brings some cocaine. I remember looking around the room trying to decide what we were going to. lay the coke out on and i looked over and i saw bob marley on the wall so this is perfect let's just lay one right out on bob's nose he tried that i just remember him looking up at me and just going and the look in his face i got my stomach dropped and i went oh crap oh no everyone needs time out on their own and it's and i'm enjoying myself everyone knew the time was partying
I think a lot of the football players knew. But he separated partying and that type of lifestyle in football. When he played football, he was great. You've got to see this documentary. And it's available, by the way, it's readily available, I believe, on iTunes. If you go to iTunes, you can download it. It's called The Marinovich Project. It's good. It's really, really good. It's riveting. Doesn't matter if you're a football fan. Doesn't matter if you're, I mean, just as a story, the fact that his dad basically experimented with him to turn him into a robo-athlete and it worked is a very compelling story. It got me, and I don't like football. Yeah, exactly. So we'll be talking to Todd when? What time? Eight o'clock. Eight o'clock. You will not want to miss this interview. So, you know, in Anchorman, when Steve Carell says, I love Lamp, Yes. That's a very famous scene for Makerman. Go ahead. Go ahead. I love desk. Right. So we're going to get to the meteorologist.
They put I Love Lamp on the teleprompter. We'll see what he did. Bowl games. Yes. There's bowl games that are going on, and I don't know what's happening, and you let me know. I'm going to fill you in on all of the big bowl games that have been going on, but first I wanted to tell you that sports is brought to us today by our friends at Carl's Jr. Check out their new under 500-calorie Santa Fe turkey burger. Nice. It's a nice option for us chubby people. So the bowl season is upon us. As I said, there have been some phenomenal games. No. 6 Oregon against No. 9 Wisconsin. Oregon won by a touchdown. 45-38. It was a track meet. And then, so then you go to the Fiesta Bowl. Stanford and Andrew Luck against Oklahoma State. Oklahoma State wins 41-38. Oh, wow. It was another track meet. Huge amounts of points. That won't have anything to do with it. That won't play into his draft. No, no. He's going to be fine. He looked good. I mean, he threw for 347 yards, two touchdowns. He's going to be fine. And I listened to a post-game interview with that guy. He sounds like Andre the Giant. Oh, gosh. He sounds like him.
Really? Very much. It's the weirdest thing to hear that voice come out of that kid's body, but I digress. And then last night, Brady Hoke and the Michigan Wolverines pull out a win against Virginia Tech, a very good Virginia Tech team, 23-20. Brady Hoke 11-2 in his first year in. Ann Arbor. And then the big game is going to be January 9th at 8.30 Eastern, which will be 5.30 our time. Alabama against LSU for the national championship, the BCS championship. It's going to be insane. That's next week. Wow. And then also, if you didn't hear, the Chicago Bears have made a couple of moves. They fired their GM, Jerry Angelo. And Lovie Smith, who was their head coach, he's actually going to stay. But Mike Martz has resigned as offensive coordinator. That guy's been offensive coordinator. Everywhere. Coach the Rams, an offensive coordinator everywhere. And the Brady Hoke thing is big because he was a coach here for San Diego State. And I think I've told you before, that guy, when I met him, he interviewed him. When he walked into the studio, there was something different about him. Yeah, that's what you said. There was something different about him than all the other guys I had talked to. That bums me out as an Irish fan. He's a pretty good coach. He's a good coach.
So, okay, will the guy say, I love Lamp? WGBA, Green Bay, Wisconsin, here's what happened. But people who had cats during childhood were not as likely to develop an allergy no matter where the cat curled up. So you became immune to it. Exactly. Yes. I don't know. Just the thought of having cat hair on my pillow, it just grosses me out. Don't tell camera operator Tom that. I know, he has one, and he lets it sleep in his bed. He's got two. Exactly. All right. In other news, I love lamp. Whoa, there he is. Oh, my God, he told me about that. He got me. Wow. One more time. All right. One more time. It's phenomenal. All right. In other news, I love lamp. Whoa. That's brilliant. It's fantastic. Exactly. All right. In other news, I love Lampa. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. You got me. God, that's great. At least she had a good attitude about it. Oh, yeah. I want a teleprompter for you, Mike. Oh, so bad. More than anything. It would be so...
Easy, though. I mean, that's candy from a baby trying to get me to do it. We know a long time, and we make you think we're never going to do it again. And you would just do it? We promise you, look, all right, it's the last time. It's over. And you'd be like, all right, all right, I trust you. It'd be so funny. Whatever's put in front of me, you will read. Yes. You've seen Anchorman? Well, I will read anything that's put in the teleprompter, and that is just proof right there. In other news, I love LAMP. I love LAMP. It's brilliant. Oh, it's great. I love that. Speaking of news, I tweeted Catherine Garcia from NBC 739 yesterday. She's going to be on Dateline. There's no doubt in my mind. That woman is real talented. She may be on Dateline NBC before it's all said and done. I was just watching the news yesterday. Sitting there drinking Alka-Seltzer trying to get over the cold thing. I thought you were going to say alcohol. I was like, wow. Yeah, a bottle of gin. I use that Alka-Seltzer lemon flavor. Oh, yeah. I love Alka-Seltzer. There's a Sprite. We got to do something for you, Woods. This is killing me. It's killing me. It's like I'm broadcasting from the sun on the sun. Woods. It's not happened last year. At exactly 10 minutes after 7, the sun.
shines into the studio in such a way that it absolutely blinds woods. Is my face illuminated at all? We expanded the windows. That's right. Is my face illuminated? Yes. I feel like it's really bright. We have the most beautiful view, but it blinds woods. Oh, look at Jay, Mr. Fix-It. I get it. He's going to put up a curtain. Yeah, he's going to hang a curtain. He can really do this. No way. It's not going to be long enough. That's not even close. You're like seven feet off. It's coming from the far left corner. Oh, my God. It's so bright. Let's see if you can do it. Oh, look at him now. I'll fix it. I'll get it. Shut up. That's what we'll have to do. You guys go ahead. You can just stand there. Oh, that's perfect. Did that even help? No. Nope. That's the spot right there. That's the sweet spot. Holy cow. It's blinding. Oh, that's perfect. You need some tape. Holy cow. What do you need? Paper clip. Piece of gum.
Will this help? I need saliva. I need some rat hair. I knew. It is like, it is insane. By the end of the show. I don't want to wear sunglasses because I think you'd freak out. Like, I think you'd look at me and be like, I can't look at you. I can't look at you. You can't because it's so bright, dude. You can't. Holy crap. It's so bright. It's like when we do our 28-hour show, our Mikey-thon. Like, in the afternoon, we're all like, ugh. Vampires. M1 Francisco from San Marcos. What was the word of the day? Are you there? Oh, wait. Sorry. Go ahead. Bottle. Correct. You just got yourself mad in 12. for the Nintendo Wii. Yes. And a $50 gift card to Dave and Buster's. All right. All right, hang on. So yeah, yesterday I was feeling like I was sick, so I used the Alka-Seltzer lemon-flavored stuff. Is there anything more butt-tasting? I like it. I love Alka-Seltzer. It tastes like chalk and salt. But it's so...
It works, and I think that's why I like it, because that works like an SOB. But it tastes like sulfur. He's a big player in college. Look at this. The guy just rigged up a freaking drape. Well, you're the man. How did you do that? That's incredible. He's amazing. And it's perfect. He hung drapes. He's unbelievable. He hung drapes in 30 seconds. Using a paper clip. I am. I'm in shock. He used a paper clip and hung drapes in the studio. He's a genius. He's a scientist. There you go. All right. We're going to do something called Are You Out There? I'm going to ask and you call if you fit the bill. Have you ever met Michael Jackson? Are you out there? Have you ever met Michael Jackson? I didn't meet him, but I was six feet from him. That's wild. Yeah. At a press conference, right? Black days or white days? White days. And that's where...
I coined the phrase unicorn. I told Rebecca, I said, it was like seeing a unicorn running down the street. I bet. It could not have been more shocking than if I had seen a unicorn running down the street. And what it was, we were doing a broadcast from Las Vegas, and they said, in five minutes, Michael Jackson's going to be speaking to all radio people. So we ran into this ballroom. Takes a lot to get me to run. That's true. Got in there. And I was front and center. And before, and it was everybody just sitting on the floor. There was no seats. He was in a ballroom. Not on a stage. Just standing there. In purple pajamas. Call us if you've ever met Michael Jackson. 5701949. And he wanted to show us this video clip of something. So they put it on the screen and he sat Indian style. Sat down. put his hands back, sat Indian style, and watched it up on the screen. And I'm not kidding, like a little kid. And then it was done, and he had a microphone, and he said, I just want to, from the bottom of my heart, say, I love you guys so much in radio, and you've done so much for my career. And he got, like, choked up. Wow. And it was, like, genuine and sincere. I was just staring at it, because it's...
Because his face was like, it really looked like plastic. It did. It really looked like, it was an unreal experience. I can't imagine. It's the biggest star in the world. Yeah. Forever, you know? And, you know, I was really struck by the thing, too, of like, where do you get purple outfits like that? And why wear those down here right now? Oh, and dude, he had on like black shoes that matched and fit. Where'd you get that? Yeah. We just watched, just for old time's sake, it's one of the most hysterical things that I've ever seen. It's not supposed to be hysterical, which is always the best form of hysterical. Michael Jackson live in Bucharest. And people passing out and people just like so out of control, screaming. And Michael Jackson with this cod piece. Oh, it's so weird. Tell everyone what your son Jake said when he walked in the room and saw it. Seriously walks in. Looks up at the TV and he says, what is she singing? Oh, my God. I laughed so hard. And I said, bub, that's not a girl. That's a boy. And, you know, he asked later on.
What is she singing? Aww. I mean, hey, listen. It's incredible. Guy was a great singer, though. Yeah. Nobody in our audience has met Michael Jackson. It's a shame. I know. Are You Out There is, it's one of those deals that if you fit the bill, it's going to be fascinating to talk to you. Absolutely. 570-1949 if you've ever met Michael Jackson. Okay. I have other ones. I sent you one, Jay. Yes, you did. Do you have it? I can find it real quick. How about this? Is there anybody out there that's related to someone notorious? That was it. It could be any reason, any form, but they got to be notorious. My grandfather used to do a bit with me when I was a kid. You know Bonnie and Clyde? Yeah. Their last names were Parker. Bonnie and Clyde, or Clyde Parker was his name.
My mom's maiden name is Parker. Yeah. And he used to tell me that we were related to them, but I never believed it. You think it's true? I don't know. Maybe I need to go on Ancestry.com and find out. Find it out? I'm related to Betsy Ross. Everybody's related. Everyone is related to Betsy Ross. Everybody on Ancestry.com is related to somebody famous. Right. I'm related to Oprah Winfrey. Exactly. Third cousins. M1 Aaron is on the line. He's been to Neverland. Are you there, Aaron? Yeah. You've been to Neverland. Have you been inside Neverland? Yeah. It was a raffle or a fundraiser that my grandparents purchased for me and my cousins. My uncle went with us, and we went on this whole tour around the Neverland Ranch. It was just around the time when the thing was he was kind of moving away. It was crazy. How much did a drive through Neverland set your grandparents back? You know, I don't know because it was a fundraiser type thing at some sort of gala, you know, some dinner. Yeah. But I'm sure it was quite a bit. Yeah. Anything strike you? Pretty much everything striked us. There was little statuettes of the little porcelain.
kids pissing all over like in the uh oh can't say that i wish we could because that's interesting yeah p yep don't that's it yeah say that can't you well but i let me handle you handle i'll handle you handle up on it why would someone have that because he's a weirdo dude yeah Why would you have little kids sleep in your bed? True. He's a freaking weirdo. He was perpetually a little boy. That's just an old bit. I really do. Steve and I, we were all watching that Bucharest thing. Steve was over with my brother. And I go, you think he did that stuff with the kids? And he goes, I'm not sure. And I go, why do you not think so? What part of you? Doesn't think so. He goes, I think maybe he did, but I don't think that he knew it was bad. And I'm like, how do you not know that's bad? And he's like, because you're whacked out. Yeah. I think he may have had sleepovers with him as if he was also an eight or 10 year old boy. Yeah. That's what I think. I think you go through sometimes if you go through a traumatic experience.
You can be like stuck at that age or like stuck at the age just before things got traumatic. Yeah. That's why I think a lot of people suffer from that kind of weird stuff, you know? Yeah. I mean, it's weird. Like when we were at Disneyland, we walk in and there's like a ride with his face on it. And I'm like, oh, this is a great ride. Strange. Strange. I didn't think that. I do. I think the Sandusky merry-go-round. Come on. It's different. Is it? Yeah. The allegations are the same. But the allegations are the same. He's not as famous as Michael Jackson. No. He's not as good a singer. They're not exactly the same allegations. It's pretty close. Michael Jackson was a dancer. He's a better dancer. Well, he's definitely a better dancer. Well, there's like forcible charges. Did you guys stop for the Jesus juice before you got on the ride? And they feed you up real good. Yes, Jay.
Well, I know you didn't, because you can't. Because, Mike, you're a recovering alcoholic. Yeah, which is always fun to poke fun at. M1, preschool teacher from Escondido. Who are you related to? Jesse James. Yes! Jesse James the bank robber, or Jesse James the guy that was married to... The train robber. The train robber. I'd rather be related to him. I was related to him, and I'm also related... to Lewis and Clark, the explorer. And George Washington? Come on. How do you know that you're related to both? This is Miss Andrea, by the way. How do you know you're related to both? Because I have family lines that date back to both of them. But when it dates back, does it say Jesse James? Yeah. It does?
Mm-hmm. Are they related to each other? No. Well, apparently. Different sides. No, it's different sides. Oh, that's cool. It's one through my mom's mom and one through my dad's mom's dad. What if you had, like, something in you that wanted to rob banks? Yeah. You know, I've always... He says that I don't. Oh, fair enough. I've always found fascinating, like, Charles Manson has a kid. Nuh-uh. Yes. He has a child. A woman he was with when he was young birthed a child. I want to know that person. Not know them. I want to know who they are. What are they like? Where do they live? What do they do? I am like. Are they well adjusted? Are they normal? Do they know? I mean, they have to know that their dad. Or maybe they don't. Maybe they don't. I wouldn't tell them. M1 Get Sticker Maker from Imperial Beach is on the line. You there? Yes, sir. How are you doing? Good. Who are you related to? This is coming from my dad, and he has more stories than Casey Anthony, but he swears I'm related to Frank Sinatra. But your dad is notorious for not telling the truth. Is that the deal? Yeah, but my stepmom also said the same thing, and they swear by it. Can you see? Yeah, can you see? No, I don't have any pictures, but I guess my dad's sister in New York City might have some...
proof or something like that? Well, listen. If you're related to Frank Sinatra, you gotta have pictures. That's pretty cool. That's what I'm saying. Because he's not, he hadn't been gone that long. Belts out my way. M1 Carol from Carlsbad's met Michael Jackson. Where'd you meet him? Hello? Hi, you there? Yes, I'm here. Where'd you meet him? Well, I worked at a pet shop in West LA. And he walked in with Emmanuel Lewis on his shoulders. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Is that a true story? Oh, my God. It's a true story. Oh, my God. He walked out of a limo, and with Emmanuel Lewis, I met them both, and he wanted some pets to add to his collection. Of course. And I helped him out with the reptiles and the puppies until my boss pushed me over and took over. Hey, do you want to go get some ferrets, Emmanuel? Oh, my God. Hey, Webster. I think. Michael Jackson just walked in with Webster on his shoulders. I would have to run for the break room. What's going on? Before cell phone days. It's a good thing that Michael wanted to keep a low profile. He wanted to be inconspicuous. I used to carry a backpack.
But I found that Webster is a better accessory than I need to buy parrots and parrots. Why would I need a backpack if Webster could hold everything? He's got a very nice grip on his head. His very tiny, tiny hand. That's right. So I would take things like apples and I would say, here, can you hold this? And then I would hold him. He was my human backpack. Oh, my God. Some guys wear bracelets or rings. I wear Webster. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. What a trip. That is insane. Boss, Webster is here on Michael Jackson's shoulders. How's that? I say Webster is here on Michael Jackson's shoulders. Oh, okay. Well, tell him. What does he want? He wants parents and parents. F and P's. F and P's. You know that. That's wild. Oh, my gosh. I love it.

Not bad. Fat boy. 36% resolved to quit smoking. Woods will not tell us about his. I have a feeling he's resolving to do both.
Lose weight and quit smoking. Not talking about anything this year. That's my New Year's resolution. He doesn't want to talk about it because he doesn't want listeners to give him a hard time if there's any kind of a slip. I don't like being called to the carpet. Yes. If he quits, per se. Yes. It's not easy to quit smoking, man. No. I tried the patch and I had to chew on pens. It was very difficult to do. Yeah. I mean, if I were to be quitting smoking, I imagine that that's how it would be. But maybe I am, maybe I'm not. One in five women like Facebook more than sex. One in five. Then they're doing it wrong. Who? They're not doing it with me. No woman laid their hands on me would ever, ever choose Facebook. She'd actually decide that there's no need for the Internet. Or a computer, nothing. Serve me. All she needs is air, water, food, J. That's it. Maybe poke this. Huh? How's that? Oh, yeah, girl. Oh, boy. Maybe poke this. Subtle. Yeah, what was the double entendre there? The Facebook poke. Oh.
Maybe he clicked my mouse. L.O.B., would you rather be on Facebook more than have sex? No, but I've been accused of choosing the Internet over sex. What do you mean? I did one time. You know I like to play music, like when I make love? Oh, God. Oh, wow. I'm so comfortable. That was so uncomfortable. So uncomfortable. Okay, music anytime there's a hanky-panky. That's better. In 1940, it was better, but it'll work now. Any sort of funny business. That's good. Wait. Do you have a stereo, a boombox? No, I do it from my laptop. Remember I had that playlist? Oh, my God. Sex pervert, dude. It's my iTunes. That's so clandestine. It's so back alley. It's my iTunes or it's Pandora because sometimes I don't like to know what's coming next. Freeform. Yeah, exactly. But I need music. Imagine this pervert, the sex pervert over here. Yeah, what do you mean? I want you to peel her head back. Can I interview you? Can I interview you? Sure. Peel it back. Does it, does it, is it like?
This is romantic. This is like a movie. That's part of it. That's part of it. That's part of it. Also, I don't live in my own house. I've got a condo sort of thing, apartment situation going. I always have. So if I can hear anything else that my neighbors are doing, I assume that they can hear me. So I can't be distracted by noises. Yeah, it can take you off task. Yeah, exactly. I hear a conversation about taking the trash out. I'm like, I can't. Yeah, I can't fully do what I need. I can't get to where you want to get. I can't do what I need to do. So I need focus. So it's meant to drown out things, too. It's that, and it also, it's a mood setter, you know? I was a big player when you were single. In college, it was a huge player. I guess I never stopped playing then. So you're still single? Technically. Technically. She's not single. I file single on my taxes. Yeah, you do file single. So this April.
I will, yes, still be filing single. Probably next April and April after that and after that and after that. But I'm currently dating someone. And if I want something like smooth and slow, I'll put in Sade. Oh, my God. She's such a creep. Why? And this is, okay, this is my deal. This is perfect. This is my deal with it. I kind of get it. If it's maybe somebody new. But if this is like a repeat biz that you've been getting over and over, you're like. I can't stop laughing. Hold on. I got to put Sade on again. Isn't Matt like, oh boy, with the music. No, I'm sure he likes it too. Are you? It got to a point where it would throw me off. And I couldn't do what I needed. Otherwise, I laugh too much. Like, it's silly. You can't just go from being friends to like, so awkward. I'm so uncomfortable right now. What are you doing?
She doesn't play music. She'll laugh too much. Yes. You know why? Because lovemaking is hysterical. If you really broke it down and thought about it, it kind of is. But you're not supposed to think about that while you're in the act. Not in the throes. Not in the throes. I've broken it down and thought about it. It's not funny. It's funny. It is? Well, okay. Some of the lines that are said. Yes. The picture of this. The next time you're like. Oh, wow, I just really said that. Oh, God, I'm disgusting. Oh, boy, I'm disgusting. Well, listen. Oh, God. Listen, there are things that you say at a train station that you might not say inside of a Circle K, like, hey, what time's the next train coming by? But you're not nude at a train station. You don't have one leg up. You're not with a ball game. All right, all right, all right. There's like something in my brain that does not filter out situations when it comes to finding humor. I can be at a funeral. Yes. I could be making love. I find things funny and I can't stop laughing. Woods, would you be okay with the laugher girl? No, I would not be. I know. And that's why I need it because it's like tongue in cheek. I'm like, uh-huh.
So this helps calm you down. Yeah. This helps to keep the laughter at bay. This helps you be sexy. Yeah. Yeah. If it works. Yes. With the flow. So if you and Matt were on a deserted island, it would just sound like you laughing. Great. All right. I would have a tough time. It'd be like that or I'd have to find the local rum. Here's the question. I don't know how you can answer this, but what's funny? The things you say, is that it? The things you say is funny? Yes. The things both of us say. Like, who do you think you are kind of thing? The seriousness. It's so serious. It's so serious. Oh, my God. And so you go, when you do that, you think to yourself, who do I think I am? Yeah, everything. I can't. I'm like an outsider looking in on the situation.
Amuses me. Oh, that's freaking brutal for that guy. Yes. Well, no one's ever seen me laugh because I cover it up. I'm sure Matt's seen you laugh. No, he did see me. I changed the song. That song, I Can See Clearly Now, Bobby something or other, came on during, you know, the love making. Bobby McFerrin? No. No, no, no. Don't worry. Be happy. I can see clearly now. Cliff? Whatever. It's Bobby Clint Cliff. Yeah, whatever. And so that came on one time, and I was like, there's no way. I can't. You can't do it to this. Yeah. So I reached over Matt, and I hit next. And he, well, I was going to hit next, and he looked over and was like, you're checking your email. You're checking your email. I was like, I'm not checking my email. I'm trying to, he's like. Unbelievable. Were you checking your email? No, I promise I was not checking my email. To this day. Be complete. You aren't? I was not. You were checking an incoming Facebook message. No, no, no. I wasn't. You were changing the song. But then we had to continue with that song playing. And I was like, really? So you didn't change it? No, because I was reaching my arm over his shoulder. And he looked at my arm and was like, you're checking your email. Yeah, I'm just going to lay here.
Just check them through the library. Even going through the music is the wrong thing. You should be so focused. I know, but I wasn't because that song, it was like, I can see clearly now the rain is gone. That's ridiculous. Yeah, it is. That's ridiculous. And it's almost rape at that point. I mean, if he's having sex with you. You start syncing up to the music, you know? That's ridiculous. Look at your friend, Lauren O'Brien. Can I ask you a question? How come you cringed when she said do it? I don't like that. Do it? Yeah, it makes me uncomfortable. What do you say? I don't know, but not that. No. What am I freaking... I say make love. Lauren, you say make love? Oh, that's weird. I say I'm going to need you tonight. I feel like somebody just poured mud on me. That's the grossest thing ever. I feel like somebody just poured mud all over my body. I'm going to need you tonight. That's the grossest thing. That's an InXS song. Oh, my God. Because I'm on fire. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. It's called gonorrhea. I'm going to need you tonight. I'm going to need you tonight. Let's go back. I'm disgusted. You say make love, Lauren? Yeah. You know who says make love? Rose on the Titanic. Yeah, who's making love to Edgar. Right. Let's make love, darling.
It's time to make love. Make love is sweet. It is sweet. It is? Yeah. Who makes love? I'll say it. I'll say it. Don't judge me. I'm judging you. Don't judge me for judging you. I think it's nerdy. Oh, wow. It's nerdy. It is a little nerdy. What do you say? Do it. That's creepy. Do it is creepy. I'll see you on Wednesday. Do it is like teenagers. Yeah. What are you, 15? Are we going to do it? Are we going to do it? Well, that is 50 billion times better than, I think we should make love. Oh, what do you say to her? You see her in the hallway, like, hey, are we going to do it? Oh, God. Yeah, do you ask? Well, do you know what I don't do? I don't go. I'm going to need you. I'll come up to her and I'll hug her. That's the worst. And I'll kiss her on the neck and I'll say, I'm going to need you tonight. Oh my God. I can't listen. I know. Where's the sanitizer? I know. I need the sanitizer. Oh, I need a Q-tip. I need a scrubby brush. Oh my God. I want a wire. That. Oh.
Can you imagine that gray goatee rubbing up against her neck? Tickling your neck. A little kiss on your ear. No, it's good. What are the young people? Are we out of it? Yeah. Woods is looking over at Nicole. Yeah. I bet I know. I bet the younger people are dirty filthy. Yeah, they dropped some F-bombs. Dropped the F-bombs. Yeah. Which is fine. No, it's not. I'd send a good alternative. No. No, that's never a good alternative. That's gross. You've now made something gross. Well, you can't put the F word and a question mark together. You've got to say it. Oh, that's gross. You've got to be forceful. That's gross. You better be doing it when you're saying it. Oh, that's gross. Oh, God! Jeez! I'm so... Jay, you're so weird. I'm going to rip my shirt off and shower. It doesn't matter. You'll never get clean. I'll never be clean again. M1 screenwriter from Temecula. You guys are funny, number one, but I had a revelation, L.O.B. What's that? Honey, this is why you're not engaged. Thanks. My girl was laughing every time that we did it.
I don't laugh. She doesn't. That's the point. But she's stifling a laugh every time. That's the point is that she doesn't laugh. I don't laugh. You're stifling one. I'm stifling one. Do you ever have a look of stifling? Yeah. Oh, my God. I'm like, gosh, that's the most emasculating thing. That must make a guy feel like a complete loser. No, it's not. Okay, only when it goes from, like, zero to 60, and I'm not expecting it. Oh, God. Like, we were like, oh, we're just like, we were hanging out, and then, oh, all of a sudden, you're going that way. Do you start laughing? I'm like, no, I stifle, though. You stifle it. But I'm like, oh, yeah. You don't have to jump up. Please. Please. Please. No hand signals. People are so different. They are. People are so different. I have a funny bone that is tough to stifle. Funny bone. Certain things are not to be laughed at. I know.
That shouldn't be laughed at. Shouldn't be laughing from someone's deathbed either, but sometimes it happens. Oh, gosh. Sometimes something awkward happens. That's true. Yeah. Been there. Yeah. And you just, you go. Anyhoo. Woods was staring at Nicole, our phone screener. Who is now pretending that she can't hear us. She's pretending not to notice that we're in here. She's pretending. But she can full on hear us. It's a fake phone call that she's on. It's a fake phone call. She's pretending. She's laughing. Now she's got the hand over the eyes. Poor Nicole. Here's what I want to happen. Let it be girl talk. You go find out what it is.
And, yeah, you go find out what it is, but don't, if it's nasty, I don't want to know. She's 19 years old, so this is a good representation of what the kids are up to. I'll listen in. Yeah, it's filthy. And, hey, tell them to keep their voices down. Tell them to keep their voices down because that room is not soundproof. Keep your voices down unless I can hear. I'll turn my mic off. Yeah, he's got to turn the mic off. He's a weird dude. Oh, my gosh, whatever it is, Lauren is blushing. She's blushing. Lauren's blushing. I think it involves cursing. You think it does? I don't know. No way. The kids these days. Kids these days, pal. Boy, but when I was 19... I did not do that, man. I thought I was freaking Ron Jeremy, pal. Is it filthy? Yeah. No, it's not. It's not? It's not. Just keep it simple. Have sex. Yeah. That's lame. No, it... No. Let's have sex.
Yeah, that doesn't bother me. It wouldn't, I mean, not like make love. At that age, it probably just like, I mean, Nicole's 19. It probably just happens and you don't have to ask. Usually wherever you are. You know, it's just like happening. It's a true statement. And then probably when you refer back to it, you refer to it as. In the garden. In the building. Got it, Jake. In Mikey's office. Got it. You freak. On the beanbag chair. On the ping pong table. On the counter in the kitchen. In the bathroom. Small studio, big studio, Garrett's desk, Rick's desk, Steve's desk, accounting area. Jay, you are such a wonderful lovemaker. Yes, thank you. I'm going to need you tonight. Oh, man. You're so romantic. I love when you say that to me. Let's tie your hair up. You should have let your hair down. No, let's tie it up. No, my hair is up now. Take that long comb out.
I've got a long... It's an heirloom. It's actually an heirloom. It's made of pearl. Mother pearl. Mother pearl. Mother pearl. And if I take it out, all my long gray hair will just pillow down over my breasts. It almost reaches the bottom of your breasts. Almost. Oh, you look like a gray-headed crystal gale. Yes, I'm a gray-headed crystal gale. Tie you up there. What's the matter with them? He's off his meds or something. Yeah. Or he's on meds. Gosh, no sugar for him. His is the grossest. There's no question. That's definitely the worst. 570-1949 is our number. Todd Marinovich is going to be on the show when we come back. Something's in the air tonight. This is a clip from the Marinovich Project, one of the most compelling documentaries I've ever seen. It's on ESPN, and you can actually download it from iTunes if you would like to see it, but it is absolutely riveting. Marv Marinovich produced an incredible specimen. I'm not sure he produced a son who was capable of handling himself in a free, unstructured environment. I love the afternoon games. and loved going out with the guys and partying afterwards. That's what college life was. I didn't think I was doing anything wrong. When he came to USC, Mar was not around. It just wasn't that presence that Todd had been accustomed to his whole life. Todd, having gone to college, have things changed between you two in some way? No, as he's matured, things have changed. I'm not as close to him as I'd like to be. It was kind of a shock for me.
During the high school, he was there all the time, and then he goes to college, and it's been an adjustment. A lot of kids, when they go to college, experience that freedom for the first time and really enjoy going out and doing a lot of different things. I wasn't aware that Todd was enjoying himself too much, but obviously he was. Todd Marinovich was drafted into the NFL in 1991. He was taken 24th overall by the Raiders. He was, in fact, the robo-quarterback. What does that mean? It means from the time he was born, all through his life, he was groomed to be this incredible athlete, and he was. Todd Marinovich on the phone with us now. You there, Todd? Hey, guys. How are you doing? Good, good. It's great to talk to you. Listen, I've got to tell you, I think kudos to you and also kudos to the producers of this documentary because they were really able to get you to open up and really talk.
Incredible to hear you in your own words to begin with. But then for you to be kind of as transparent as you were, I thought was a remarkable feat on whoever was interviewing you. Yeah, I did a great job making the film without a doubt. Did they have to get to know you for a while before they started actually rolling film on you? From the minute you guys were together, boom, they were taping everything. No, we had to get a relationship going. Right from day one, I had a good feeling about them and grew from that point. The more time we spent together, the more comfortable I became. I'm still not comfortable in front of a camera, but it came out well. Oh, man. It really is an incredible, incredible story. Todd, from the time you were just a baby, your dad was grooming you to be an incredible athlete.
And as you say in the documentary, it was sort of your normal, right? I mean, to you, it wasn't anything weird. It was just the way you were growing up. Right. Just for me of wanting to do the film and set the record straight about me and my dad's relationship because I think people got it all wrong from the beginning. And, you know, like most sons, when you grow up, you want to please your father. I think that's kind of in our DNA. perception was that I didn't really enjoy what I was doing. I enjoyed the game of football like none other. I think it's the best sport on the planet. And once I achieved really the goals that I wanted to achieve, I was done. I was over it. I wanted to move on and really couldn't be happier with where I'm at in life today with a family. Yeah, Todd is now married with a couple of kids and you're a successful artist.
And your website is Todd Marinovich dot com. And really a remarkable story. And so I want to ask you about your relationship with your dad, because one of the things that I think the viewer gets from watching the documentary is, oh, my gosh, this dad pushed too hard. He pushed too hard. And then in seeing your dad in the documentary, he didn't seem to be in any way ashamed of it. He didn't seem to be at all remorseful, regretful. It seemed to me as a viewer that, you know, he did what he did. And I think it's really about acceptance of the way people are. Every time I've grown to accept my dad for who he is, and I know that all his energy and passion towards me was a lot of love, even though a lot of it was misdirected. I think as you get older. You kind of see these things a little bit clearer. You know, Todd, I have talked about my struggles with addiction on the air. I'm a recovering alcoholic, and I've used just about every drug you could possibly imagine and have lived through it by the grace of God. And I'm really stoked about that because now I have a great wife, and I have three really great kids.
deal with with these kids is righting the wrongs of my dad, you know, just in my relationship with my kids. There are some things that I go, well, I want to do it different than my dad. Do you find yourself at all overcompensating with your kids and going, hey, I am not going to tell them what to do? I'm only two and my daughter's five months. So, you know, those parenting times are around the corner for me. over the last few years with other young quarterbacks. And what I try to do is be the coach that I really never had. And I've had some great coaches over my career, the ones that I've had together, and try to make it fun for these kids for the most part. Yeah, what does that look like? What would coaching the right way look like? Oh, I don't know about the right way, but just the way that I think personally I would like to be coached, and it's really through positive reinforcement and making it simple and making it fun. Yeah.
And listen, we're talking to Todd Marinovich. If you watch this story, The Marinovich Project, there were times where it didn't look like any fun. Tell the story. It's a true story. The Sun Bowl. Yes. Todd, tell the story about the time that you had to jog home. Well, I had a laugh when you said it didn't look fun at times, and you're right. a field that any person chooses to go in and they want to succeed at it, there's going to be some times that you don't want to be there. And so, you know, through sports, I learned a tremendous amount. And so the experience that you're talking about running home, I was, I think I was 11 or 12. And my dad was upset because I wasn't giving 100%.
jogged about 10 miles home behind the car. And I had a really athletic background or foundation, so it wasn't like it was going to kill me. I could have run a marathon probably, but it was emotional. And, you know, one of those tough experiences that you have growing up. Now, listen, I mean, from an outsider's perspective where that is not our normal. The 10-mile run for an 11- or 12-year-old seems just, well, it's an extraordinary feat in and of itself, it seems like. You know what I mean? I would just joke to get out of the car, to be honest. What is your relationship like with Marv now? Oh, it's great. It's come full circle, and we get together and do art. It's amazing. We get to create and sculpt and paint and explore new ideas. It's really a dream come true. It's what I've really always wanted to do. Todd Marinovich on the line with us. Todd, am I right? Does your sister, and maybe you too, do you refer to your dad as Marv? Yeah. Wow. When did that start? Good question.
I think it started really as far back as I can remember because all of my dad's friends and players that he was coaching called him Marv, and I just followed suit and thought it was kind of humorous. And he didn't correct you? He didn't say, call me dad? No. Wow. Now, can you give us a glimpse of what that time was like when you were at USC? On top of the world, things were going well at USC. Can you give us a glimpse of the behind the scenes of what was going on between the relationship with you and your head coach, Larry Smith? Because here you had this extraordinary quarterback who at times would take the game into his own hands and a coach that didn't like it, which didn't make sense to me. Even watching the documentary, I know it wasn't the coach's way, but you were winning games.
What was the main struggle there? And do you do you talk to him to this day? He's passed away. Wood said he passed away. OK, I didn't know. Did you ever get well, give us a behind the scenes. And then I'd like to ask you if you ever healed that relationship. Well, those times at SC were definitely confusing for me because I was at the point, you know, in my life that it was really. a dream come true. I mean, I grew up on USC football and now I'm there and I'm away from home for the first time. So I'm really partying, enjoying college life to the fullest and playing hard and what I really, you know, enjoy doing. And so when I was getting mixed emotions from Coach Smith, it, you know, kind of threw me into a little bit of a tailspin.
You know, it is what it is, and we never really righted that relationship. We kind of went our separate ways. But, you know, if I had one regret, it was if I could have stayed in school. Because I was having a blast at USC. Yeah, yeah. I mean, but weren't you having too much of a... You were having too much of a blast, though. You know, as I'm looking, I mean... Yeah, I mean, you were having some fun. But now are married. You have a couple of kids. And again, the website, ToddMarinovich.com. And you are an extraordinary artist as well. And this is an amazing documentary. Fascinating story of a kid that was pushed to what I would think would be the absolute limits of what you could take, man. And you did. What's the hardest thing your father ever had you do physically? Oh, you know what? It really wasn't the physical feats that were so trying. It got to the point where it became all mental. And in sport, when you realize that, it's a major jump because once you're there athletically and physically, really what sets you apart is the mental aspect.
You know, a lot of that I carry with me today, which is extremely helpful, I've got to say. But after going through it at the time, you know, you don't think you can do it. But when you do live through it, man, it's just, you know, things are good. Todd, we're talking to Todd Marinovich. I've got one last thing for you before we let you go. A winner, because on so many levels, you won. A lot of it was natural. A lot of it was natural. But what was, what is something that you can tell everybody listening is a way that you became a winner? Couldn't ever do anything alone. Reaching out and helping me. And obviously I had a desire. And without that, you know, a will to. And other people, there'd be no way I wouldn't be talking to you right now.
It was other people that came into your life and helped you? Yes, through athletics, through times when I was fighting addiction. All of my struggles, it's been other people. That's great. Have you been working out the whole time we've been talking to you? I'm on a walk, actually, with my little girl. No, you're on a walk. There you go. Hey, Todd, interesting. You know what? Nothing compares to that, and I think you guys know it. skirt chasing I did in college. Yeah. Walking my little girl, I'll tell you. That's right. The best. Hey, man, thank you very much for coming on with us. And just from this interview, I'm going to go home and watch the documentary again. Yep. Cool. Hey, classy, San Diego. You got it. You're in SoCal, right? Yeah. You're here. All right. Thank you, Todd. We appreciate it, man. All right. Thank you, guys. Have a great day. All right. We'll see you. Fascinating. Wow. Dude. Could talk to him all day. Just that lifestyle that he had at SC. I mean, you'll see it in the documentary if you want to watch it. It's unbelievable. Oh, crap. You know what I didn't ask him? The junk food thing. That's all right. Well, he dispelled it. Yeah, but I remember we were going to say, you know, well, okay. How true was it? Like, how true was it? What did you eat? Yeah. You know, the weirdest thing, man, is I grew up.
I've always been a Notre Dame football fan, and he played for SC. I remember him torching us. And the perception I had of Todd Marinovich when he failed in the NFL was like, you threw it all away. After I watched that documentary, there was none of that for me. None. None. Because you saw him more as a person. And I saw him as like, hey, man. When he said that thing of just because you're great at something doesn't mean you have to do it. Or doesn't mean you're supposed to do it. I mean, for me, it was like, bing. And he became a human being, you know, to me. And that was just, it's incredible. It really is. I think that's true of Woods. You know how to sell. Yeah. But that doesn't mean that that's what you were meant to do. Exactly. I think this is what you were meant to do. You were meant to be on the radio. You know, my career was like, it would be up and up and up and up. fall off and I'd lose interest. It wasn't stimulating for me. I have a passion for it. But yeah, I can do it all day long. But I never want to do it again. 570-194-9 is our phone number. If you want to download the documentary from iTunes, it's called The Marinovich Project. It's part of ESPN's 30 for 30 and it's badass, man.
It is so, so good. Fellas, your wife will love it. I'm not kidding. I mean, if you hate football, you will like this story. It's phenomenal. Just after 830, we're going to be going over a list of banished words for 2012. Yes. One of the words that wasn't on there is one that my brother says, and I'm this close to asking him to banish it. Yes. But we will talk about these banished words for 2012, many of which I do not agree with. And I feel that they have their place in society. I feel that they have their place in our lexicon. And I don't know why anybody wants to get rid of them. So we'll do that in just a bit. Stick around for it. There's going to be an Irish jersey, sure. What do you think about that? Well, it's a wee bit interesting, I would say. Not really. Not really at all. Yeah, you get to see, like, some sort of train wreck, but it'll be happening in Dublin. In Dublin? Get off my potatoes. That's right, my man. What? That's right. What is that, you see? Come again, laddie. Yes. Can you say that again, lass? I think that might have been my Mikey voice. Can you come again one more time? It's not happening.
Yeah, go ahead. I'd like to hear you. I'd love to hear it. Patrick Rodriguez. Patrick O. Rodriguez. Oh, yes. Let's hear it again. Go ahead, O. Garcia. McNanders. Go ahead, McNanders. I heard you say something in there. I can only think now. Sounded a wee bit stupid. Sounded very raspy. It's your Irish, is it? What'd you say? Now I can do it. It's always after my lucky charms. But it came out. Let me turn my mic off. Oh, wow, wow, wow. Maybe she should just take it to the house. Just go ahead and call her a day. Yeah, laddie. Hey, my man. Yeah, laddie. Oh, that was my men. That was my men. My men. Oh, jeez. Oh, it's a blue spring. Identical Irish. Always after my lucky charms.
He knows one phrase. He has to say something else. We're talking about the Jersey Shore. He's like, yeah, they're always after me, Lucky Charms. Top of the morning. Irish Spring, Mike. Blarney. Blarney. Blarney Stone. Guinness. Dublin. U2. Green. Bodo. Green. Notre Dame. Shamrock. What about the Jersey Shore, bro? I'm just throwing out Irish shakes. They're always after my Jersey Shore. He's such a dad. Oh, wow. He's a dad. Son of a gun. A big time dad. They're always after me, Jersey Shore. They're always after me, Jersey Shore. Aye. Holy smokes. Hang on. I just blew a gasket in my head. Listen to this. This is going to gross you out, but I got to tell you, it's pretty gnarly. So researchers just did a study and found out that when you do your business in the restroom, if you leave the toilet seat up, researchers have just found that you are literally spraying fecal matter throughout the bathroom. Oh, my God.
Which, by the way, I didn't know. That's what that thing's there for, I guess, huh? It's a research study. We don't have lids here, though. Yeah, we don't. Not in the public. Yeah, public restrooms, you don't have lids. They should have them. That's why you kick it and run out. Here is the deal. They say, and that's obviously they.com, they.net, they.org, they.ca. No, it actually was a study that was done by Leeds Teaching Hospitals, and they said that... When you do, flush the toilet and the lids up. It goes everywhere on every surface that you touch. Yep. Including and not limited to toothbrushes. Yep. Clothing. Yep. Anything you brought in. Now, here's the good news. The good news is we've all been doing it and we're all alive. Right. So it's what we've been doing. It's not necessarily the greatest thing to now know. But if you want to change it.
Put the seat down. Yeah, and put your toothbrush in the medicine cabinet or somewhere. Don't have it out on the counter. We've got a poop closet, so we're good. Yeah, poop closet. Baby bump. Git. There's nothing wrong with that. Absolutely nothing wrong with it. Git. It's very, it's a tell-all. It's very expressive. Baby bump. Well, no, it's very descriptive. That's the word I was looking for. It's very descriptive. It's a very particular time. Yeah. It doesn't mean that you're real pregnant. It means you're barely pregnant. Oh, so it means you're showing. You just have a little, showing is perverted. Yeah, showing sounds like you're a pervert. Yeah. It sounds like, you know what? The guy that says showing is the guy that leaves bubble gum out of his zipper. Yeah. Woods. Woods. What do you mean leaves bubble gum? Oh, when I stretch and say I got bubble gum on my shorts? Yeah. He walks around with it hanging out in the trolley. I've done that. Yeah, I know. Not in the trolley because- Yeah, in the trolley. Take a trolley, but the bus. Showing is weird. You're showing. No, you're showing. Showing is like- Baby bump. You're so suburbian. I'm peeking at you. Look at my baby bump. Occupy has become overused, completely abused. It's the dumbest, like, let's get rid of it. In. I got my vote. I don't agree with the next one. Man Cave. It'll always be that. Yeah, I think it will be. That's what it is. I got no beef with that. Wait. Wait. It's a little played out. What would you call it? It's freaking played out. It is. It's descriptive. I mean, where are you, man? I'm in my man cave.
You're a dork. You're right. You're a dork. No, no, no. You go over to someone's house. Oh, Mike's got a little man cave here. Or, hey, I need this to be my man cave. How about your office? That's not what it is, though. An office is different than a man cave. You're 41 years old. You don't need a man cave. You have an office. If you are 81 years old, you need... Man space. Yeah, it's called your office. That's what a grown man calls it. No, no, no, no, no, no. I don't want an office. You have an office. That's what you call it. Where a dartboard goes. Yeah, dude. You can put a dartboard in your office. I don't have a man cave. I have an office. You have an office. That's badass. It's not a man cave. No, it's not a man cave. It is. It's got a flat screen. It's got a fish tank. It's got a fish tank. It's got a fish tank. That's a freaking man cave. You got all your DVDs. Just because there's a desk in there. A man cave has to have. Posters. No. What kind of posters are you going to put up on your wall? You're not 15 putting Ace Freely posters up on the wall anymore. You know where your man cave will be if you start tacking posters? Well, it'll be in the garage. It needs sports or rock memorabilia. I got both of those in my office. What's my office? Yeah, it's his office. A man cave is like a man playground. It's dorky, dude. Fine. It's dorky. If a man playground, then you'd have a kegerator and a stripper pole. Right. Okay. None of us can get away with that.
And are you ready for the last one? And then I'll tell you my brothers. The last one's ginormous. Yeah, I'm good with that. I've said it, done it. Me too. It's right up there with Fantabulous. I say that too. Yep. I know. My brother Steve says Redonkulous. Yep. That's it. Yeah, dude, dude, dude. Just call me 20 minutes and the show's over. I have to go. I say that too. Or Redonk. You don't say Redonk. You don't say Redonkulous. I've never Redonk. No way we're friends if you say that. Yeah, I've said it. It's not my normal. 18 years ago. No, like this year. You said redonkulous? Yeah, I may have typed it, too. I'm done with epic, too. I don't say that. But back to redonkulous, it's the worst word out there. It makes me mad when he says it. Your brother's an older gentleman. Yeah, he's 49. Excuse me, sir, Mike Esparza.
You say lame sauce. It's funny. It's not funny. It's meant to be funny. It's stupid. I like it. It's funny. Nobody likes it. It's so stupid, it's funny. That's why you say it. It's lame sauce. It's so stupid. It's so bad. It's so... It's like... It's so stupid. It's so played out. It's so... But it's funny. That's true. What about player? Can you still say player? Yeah, I type player. What a player. I typed that to my OBF, my only black friend. There's a website that you can sell stuff if you broke up and you don't know what to do with all the stuff that's left. Because when you break up with somebody, you always have stuff left. Like you got stuff they gave you or clothes or CDs. I wonder if you can buy rings on there. You can. Well, is it for sale? Yeah, it is. It is for sale. It's a marketplace. Neverlikeditanyway.com. And it's painful items that are left over from a breakup. His Air Jordans that he left over. Get rid of them. A sweatshirt. Yep. Perfect. A watch that he left at your house that he probably really likes. Or a necklace that he got you. What would be a thing that a guy would have from a chick? Like, what would she leave? Sweater. Dresses. Sweater. Shoes. What if she left some freaking Manolo Blahniks over there? You just made yourself 500 bucks. Booga.
I thought that was a... Oh, yeah, it is. Half-empty bottle of expensive perfume or shampoo. Yeah. Yeah, I guess. Let's throw it out. I think it's mostly the bitter women selling the man stuff. I bet it's sentimental items from them, which you're like, what am I going to do with this now? Women are meaner than men. There's no question. Colder. Listen. Much colder. Okay, so we're both mean, right? Men and women, we're both mean. Yeah. I think women have the ability to be meaner than we can get. No question. On a mean scale. Like, like, like hot peppers, like hot peppers. Like, I believe that you ladies, you guys, like, you guys can get spicy. We probably do it more on purpose where you guys do stuff that's so deheaded and you just, we don't know. think that it's mean you're just a D. Yeah, that's true. That is true. And they have the ability, I think, you don't speak for all women, but I'd say most of the women I've ever been in contact with have the ability to shut it off. Yeah. And they just shut it off and they're cold. Yeah. And I can't, I'm not a cold guy. I don't do the, the, all right, fine. I just won't talk to you. I can't do it. Oh, I can. I can't do it. I'm a P word. You can see the ice. There's ice dripping from her nostrils right now. Yeah.
But I tell you, besides that, what's it? That was a break sign. Oh, sorry. Oh, my gosh. Let me kill you, man. Let's come over and knock you over the head. Fat. So. Fat boy. Break. Commercial. I need to spell it out in Mexican for you. I don't speak Mexican. I don't speak Mexican. Hey, dude, you know what I watched the other day? And it's a. It's not that old, but I'm going to put it in the minds of people, and they'll go watch it. It's a good watch. It's a good watch, again. No Country for Old Men. Oh, yeah. Never seen it. Oh, my God. You got to see it. I own it. Go watch it tonight. Watch it tonight. Bro. I ain't got no agua. Call it. You've been calling it your whole life. I'm not calling it. I ain't going to call it. You said call it. Hats? Sir? Oh, my God. It's so good. So good. Ski show now. Text them at 949mikey at gmail.com. Or call Mikey now. 570-1949. More of the Mikey Show coming up in minutes on FM 94.9. M1, Lily, are you there? Hello. You called AIS, and what happened? Well, I called them because I called my regular car insurance to pay my six-month premium, and it almost doubled before I even, I don't even exactly know why, once I found out.
It seemed to be a big surprise to me as to why it increased. So I remember hearing AIS all the time on the Mikey show. So I went ahead and gave him a call. And within like half an hour, AIS found a company that had the same coverage and half the price of the new premium of my old insurance. So they ended up saving me like $600 in 25 minutes. That's amazing. And that is a real story. And the number is 1-800-777-4AIS, 1-800-777-4247. Were you kind of kicking yourself like, why didn't I do this sooner? It's my old insurance. I didn't know about AIS at all. And then all of a sudden I called the agent just to pay my bill. And out of nowhere, I got this increase. And I thought, yeah, why didn't I do this sooner? That's awesome. Lily, thank you so much for the call. We appreciate it. Thank you. We'll see you. A year and a few months. So is there any time? Do you want to get married? How does that work? I'm still waiting for that ring. Oh, damn! I've lived my life. He's in the back room right now. I've been telling him this for like... He knows he needs to get his act together. I mean, I live my life, you know, crazy partying, whatever. I'm ready to settle down and want to have a little baby. What would your... No, wait, I would say two years, but I still want to get married. So do you have a timeline for him? I have a timeline. I'm 24 now, so he has till 26. Till 26. To ask me. You have like a deadline. Yeah, and if he doesn't ask me, I'm asking him. Wow. So who is her boyfriend? Gianni. Is he cool? He's a normal, well. How could he possibly be? Yeah, right? He's very ashamed of her lifestyle. But he met her while she was, like, dancing on the boardwalk. Oh, wow. Hey, Mom, Dad, this is.
Snooki. He came out to Italy to see her and left. Didn't even spend one night there because she was dancing in her little area. What is her... Does she ever reveal her real name? Nicole. A lot of her friends call her Nicole. He calls her Nicole. He's like, what are you doing? It's embarrassing. Look at you. What? What am I doing? It's embarrassing. I'm just dancing. Gianni, I want to have little Guido babies. That's what she said. Is her deal that she just has a lot of sex and drugs and stuff? No. Neither of those, actually. No. She's like a repeat offender when it comes to if she has any sex. It'll either be with one guy that's in the house or her boyfriend. Has she slayed one of the guys in the houses? Yeah, a couple times. Vinny. Actually, I think her and the situation got it on, too. That's hideous. There's some drama. I know way too much. Yeah, you do. Oh, you know a lot. Wow. She's skinny now. I mean, she's weird skinny. It's a relative term. You know, my brother Steve knows about all this Jersey Shore stuff, but you know what else he knows about? Him and my wife, like a couple hens, talking about real housewives. Oh, wow. Gosh. I had no clue what they were talking about. Good.
That's upper echelon. That's upper echelon ridiculous. That is a different level. Good for you. And you know what he pulled, Ella B? The chicks are hot. No. Hey, look, man. She's watching it, and I'm, like, trying to work on my computer. Oh, my gosh. Really? Really, pal? I do that kind of stuff. Like, in front of Matt, I'll be watching something, and I catch him on his computer, and he'll be like, wait. Which one's dating who? I'm like, aha, you do care. It makes me nervous. I can't watch those shows. I walked into my bedroom the other day. My wife decided to clean out her closet, which went from probably like a two-hour affair to a nine-hour affair. And you know what she watched the entire day? What? Project Runway. And I mean, hey, brother, I'm talking nine hours of... I just couldn't believe that the fabric that I had ordered didn't come in. And I walked in, and I started laughing. And she's like, what? And I go, they're so serious about clothes. They're so serious. It's an art form. How about this? I ordered ivory buttons, and they did not arrive. Rebecca watches it, too. Is that the Tyra Banks one? No. No, that's America's Next Top. This is some dude that talked the whole time, I think. It's Tim... I forget his name. But there's also a news show called Project...

I told her it's terrible. Are you kidding? Her brooch looks like a turd. Okay? I've pooed better brooches than that. That's hideous. I've seen better ones. I've seen better ones. God. It's the worst brooch I've ever seen in my life. I feel like he's a hat maker. He doesn't belong in this jewelry competition. Serious. Sports Chalet. I'm on my way over to the Sports Chalet table right now. Offering the best in all.
Accessories for sports. Why? Why? Why? If you're not buying that sports chalet, you're not playing. Not doing it right. Jay, you are something. You are a delight. The lovely and talented Hillary is up next. And we will come back tomorrow morning at 5.30 a.m. Mikey shows on from 5.30 to 9. And we'll do it again. Mikey shows out. Get it.
