The Mikey Show blended humor, listener calls, and recurring bits across its broadcast. Woodsy sparked debate by showing off his newly shaved mustache and defending his shadow style against Jay's 'sex pervert' jokes. L.O.B. used the platform to promote her February 17th House of Blues dance party, inviting female listeners to audition with fun sentences. The political discussion turned contentious when Newt Gingrich pulled an anti-immigrant ad targeting Mitt Romney, leading Marco Rubio to defend Romney and a back-and-forth on tax transparency.

And just settle in. Mikey Show is going to be a lot of fun today. We got a lot of cool stuff coming up for you. We're heard now at 530 a.m. And you can call 570-1949. Say hello. The Mikey Show is made up of myself, a clean-shaven Woodsy, L-O-B, Jay, and Nicole. Woodsy shaved off the mustache and it always, you'll shave it off then let it grow. Yeah. I haven't actually touched a real razor to my face in about a year. Really? I use the, you know, the clippers. You do? Yeah, I don't, I haven't, I haven't not put a real, like my Mach 3, I have not put that to my face in over a year. No way. Yeah, I don't ever do. Use an electric shaver? Yeah, because I don't, I look like a sex pervert when I'm fully, fully shorn. Yeah. So I try to get the, like the little, the shadow. Yeah, the Don Johnson. Yeah, I don't get a lot of.
I'm a big fan of the shadow. You are? I don't know why. Yeah. Yeah. It's not bad. It looks better on me now. I will. Most guys will have their. You got your thing. Jay has a thing. Jay used to have a sex pervert. Little patch of hair. He still does. He's got a little patch of hair under his bottom lip. I had that for years. Flavor saver. Yes, I knew he was going to say that. Of course you did. Knew he was going to say that. And what you know that it says about a man is, listen, I do perverted stuff. I love sex. Love sex. If you see that on him, just hold your kids a little tighter, your daughters. It means I'm a carrier of something deadly. Yes. It's a weapon, that's for sure. Contagious. It's a weapon of mass destruction. Had it since high school. Yeah. Explains a lot. Let's see. Let's take a couple of phone calls. M1 Nubian Prince is on the line. Hi there, Nubian Prince. Good morning, Mikey Show. How are you? Dude, I got the little passion in my lip, too, but it's been like three years. Sex pervert. You're a sex pervert. Even though you're a pastor in training. What are you catching in there? It doesn't matter. You're still a sex pervert. Stop being a pervert.
You guys are hilarious. Just that laugh tells me you're up to no good. Yeah, he knows. Close that laptop, pal, all right? That's right. Don't let me check your history. Yeah, seriously. You guys are so funny. Hey, I want to thank you guys for the birthday shout-outs yesterday. I really appreciate it. Right on. You bet. You missed the boat on that one. Sorry. Happy birthday. Because Woods was on Facebook. I was like, hey, dude, stop it. Yeah. Felt so good. Hey, thanks for the call. We love you. Hey, love you too, man. Happy birthday. Happy birthday. Happy birthday to you. Bye. Woods was on a... Yeah, I had challenged him to go one week without Facebook, and he took me up on that challenge. Four days. It lasted four days, and he couldn't take it anymore. He's got, like, superhuman speed on Facebook. Yeah. I was like, he's reached the end of Facebook in one day. Yeah. He was all over everything. I went nuts yesterday. I had likes. I had comments. Well, and his comeback was to go, the first order of business was for him to go to our fan page. And I know Woods well enough to know that what he wanted to do is he just wanted to get it out there. And if anybody wanted to fight about it, let's do it right now. Get out of the way. Let's fight right now. So he just wrote the word, sup.
So as if to say, you got a problem with me being back? Yeah, okay. So I was supposed to go a week and I'm not. I had a great, great comeback for anybody that filleted me for not making it a week. A couple guys were like, man, I'm disappointed you didn't make it the week. I go, look, I just missed you. Yeah. It's a good comeback, man. You just came up with that right before or right after? Did you write it? Is this how it's going to be today? Is this what we're going to do? No, no, no, no, no, no. This is the kind of show we're going to do today. Oh, okay. I was going to say. I'm awake now. One of Woods' best buddies, Bark Malman, said, hey, man, didn't even notice you were gone. It's funny because I had not told him. And I wanted to write him. I'm like, why are you commenting? Yeah. If you didn't know I was gone. Because all I said was, feels real good. He goes, nobody even knew you were missing. And I liked it. Because I pictured him saying it. I have a compliment for you. What's that? I can tell. What? I'm looking at you. What? I can tell. You know what? Don't even. Say it. I want to hear you say it. You are really. I'm not. Losing weight.
You really are losing weight. You guys got to make out? It is so steamy in here. Oh, man. You're making him hot. This is the weight he likes you at. This is true. This is the weight he likes you at. Yeah, this is sweet. He still has something to hold on to. Clean shaven. Oh, gross. It's been like, yeah. You're so clean shaven. Still a little cushion for the push. Oh, look at you and your tight muscles. Oh, man. Little angel. You change a thing. And I still, you know what? And here's the deal. When they do it, it gets me, and I still haven't learned my lesson. Like, I haven't been trained. They'll train me. They'll eventually get me to the point where I don't say something nice to you, Woods. But at this point, I'm still too naive to know what's going to get their ire. Well, you can't compliment anyone. No. You can't. No, I say nice things to Lauren all the time, and nobody goes. Wow, Mike, are you guys going to book a room at the Hilton? Well, the other day, we were having a meeting with our program director, Garrett, and he's like, well, how's everybody doing? I go, hey, I just want to tip my hat to Mike. Mike's been great. He's been really prepared. And Lauren's like, well, why don't you take his pants off? I'm like, oh, my gosh. You can't even compliment somebody anymore. I hate it. I do, too. I'm sarcastic all the time. And I haven't learned my lesson. You know, I clearly haven't learned my lesson because I. Gosh. I may have been out of line with that one.
I unwittingly and apparently, you know, homosexually say something nice. It's bromantic. It's bromantic. I don't believe that it's actually gay. Jay got a new toy. What's the new toy? That new drop. It's creepy. He could use it for so many things. Yeah, you can. This is just the time where we're supposed to get warmed up, 5.30. Yeah, we're getting warm. I'm awake. Supposed to be the time where we're stretching and just getting things going. Man, Woods and I cannot catch a break around here. You're getting locked in. Yep. Let's see. L.O.B.'s dance party is going to happen at the House of Blues, and you will be there. M1s, we're getting a big party together. And it will include LOB dancing like a pussycat doll with some M1 listeners. Meow. And I want some dolls to be on stage with me. So do we. Yeah. Now, this is taking place live at the House of Blues, live broadcast at the House of Blues on February 17th. It'll be a Friday. Get the day off now. Mark it on your calendars. And ladies, we are taking submissions until noon today. Yep. So if you want to dance with LOB.
You have to audition. There's an audition going on on Saturday at the House of Blues, and it's an easy process. All you do is right now go to MikeyShow.com, and you'll see a little deal there for you to submit. You click. You tell us, like most girls have been saying one sentence, and it's like, I can't wait to be at the audition and have fun. Yeah, just a little something so we know why you're excited. Yeah, and then you send us a photo. It's very, very easy. That is what will get you admission into this audition. And we need to encourage as many ladies as we possibly can. And you don't have to have dance experience. I don't have any experience other than my living room. But bring out your inner wildcat. That's right. Yesterday, L.O.B., she put us on notice. She said, listen, I'm going to seduce you with my hips. I am. I'm going to seduce you with dance. I cannot wait to see. That dream team that is assembled. Boy, I cannot wait. That's what we're doing. Well, you guys know how much I love and appreciate dancing. We do. Yeah. So that's why I want to see it. You're lord of the dance. Lord of the dance. So it's going to be pretty cool. And also, we were standing. So it's at the House of Blues on the main stage, which is the stage that all your favorite artists that you go see is on. I was standing on stage at the House of Blues. I was like, this is pretty badass. Oh, yeah. Performing on stage.
At the House of Blues. It's awesome. Not a lot of people get to say that. Heck no. Shaking her money maker. And here's the deal is that we see, you know, we get to see Lauren O'Brien every day in here and we don't get to see her dress like this. No. Not many people do. In case you're a new listener to the Mikey Show, Lauren O'Brien is a foxy 31-year-old blonde with blue eyes and she will be up there. Living out a dream. I've been told I look younger than 31. Just for the people afraid that I'm crusty out there. No, no. L.O.B. does not look a day over 25. Thanks, Mike. It's true story. She's got a booty. Doesn't quit. No, it does not quit. I call it the gift. Just keeps on giving. Jay's named her behind. The gift. Yeah, he's a co-worker, but he's given her nickname a behind.
Just give her her behind. The gift. The gift. Happy birthday, everybody. Yeah. She's going to unwrap it. Open it up. Or that didn't. That's the wrong metaphor. Yesterday, a small airplane left Palomar Airport in Carlsbad and had to land immediately. And it was a Cessna 210. Some people may know what a Cessna 210 is. But it made an emergency landing, bent the blades, but made it perfect into this field. You ever fly in a Cessna? No. Oh, yes, I have one time. Maybe the most petrifying thing in the world. Yeah. In the world. They are. Dude. I was scared. I was terrified. Yeah. It's like riding in an old car. It is. You see through the floor. Yeah. Holy mackerel.
It's the worst experience flying that you can have. Yeah. Scares the pants right off you. I sat in the passenger seat, you know, the co-pilot's chair, with the freaking wheel in front of me in case he passed out. Oh, my gosh. I was so scared, dude. That'll wake you up. So last night, the Republicans were debating Mitt and Newt going at it. Speaker Gingrich, you had an ad, but you pulled it this week, in which you described Governor Romney as the most anti-immigrant candidate. Is he still the most anti-immigrant candidate? I think of the four of us, yes. Go ahead, Governor. That's simply inexcusable. That's inexcusable. And actually, Senator Marco Rubio came to my defense and said that ad was inexcusable and inflammatory and inappropriate. Mr. Speaker, I'm not anti-immigrant. My father was born in Mexico. My wife's father was born in Wales. They came to this country. The idea that I'm anti-immigrant is repulsive. Don't use a term like that. You can say we disagree on certain policies. But to say that enforcing the U.S. law to protect our borders.
to welcome people here legally, to expand legal immigration, as I approve, that that's somehow anti-immigrant, is simply the kind of over-the-top rhetoric that has characterized American politics too long. And I'm glad that Marco Rubio called you out on it. I'm glad you withdrew it. I think you should apologize for it. And I think she's recognized that having differences of opinions on issues does not justify labeling people with highly charged epithets. I'll tell you what. Well said. Holy cow. Pretty straightforward and to the point, and I'll tell you, you know, that kind of continued throughout the night. In fact, Newt has been, as you know, Newt's been the biggest, I think, mudslinger. Yes. Also a douchebag. Yeah, he's a guy that really wants to throw a lot of mud, and he's been throwing it all over Romney, and Wolf Blitzer kind of was, you know, taking him to task on it, and he was shrinking away. And Mitt Romney didn't let him off the hook either. Listen to this. Tax returns. Let me bring this to Speaker Gingrich. Earlier this week, you said Governor Romney, after he released his taxes, you said that you were satisfied with the level of transparency of his personal finances when it comes to this. And I just want to reiterate and ask you, are you satisfied right now with the level of transparency as far as his personal finances? Well, you know, you and I have a great relationship. It goes back a long way.
I'm with him. This is a nonsense question. How about if the four of us agree for the rest of the evening, we'll actually talk about issues that relate to governing America. Mr. Speaker, you made an issue of this this week when you said that he lives in a world of Swiss bank and Cayman Island bank accounts. I didn't say that, you did. I did, and I'm perfectly happy to say that on an interview on some TV show, but this is a national debate where you have a chance. to get the four of us to talk about a whole range of issues. But if you make a serious accusation against Governor Rodney like that, you need to explain that. You want to try again? Wouldn't it be nice if people didn't make accusations somewhere else that they weren't willing to defend here? Okay. Highly charged? Highly charged. You know, every time you play these clips, I am so captivated, yet I see it on the TV, I go, I'm going to watch Friends. It's good stuff, man.
I'm telling you. I mean, it's good stuff. I got to get on the train. Rick Santorum, he probably took advantage of all the bickering. The bigger issue here is these two gentlemen who are out distracting from the most important issues we have by playing petty personal politics. Can we set aside that Newt... was a member of Congress and used the skills that he developed as a member of Congress to go out and advise companies, and that's not the worst thing in the world, and that Mitt Romney is a wealthy guy because he worked hard and he's going out and working hard, and you guys leave that alone and focus on the issue. Took advantage of the fact that they're sitting there having a pissy party with each other. Why not? Yeah, that's what you do. If that's the card you're dealt... It's a good debater. It's like a slap fight. Yeah. You know what I mean? That's what it turns into out there. This is, everybody remember Epstein from Welcome Back, Cotter? Kind of sad, man. He passed away at 60. I got a note. Epstein's got a note. Dear Mr. Cotter, please excuse Warren from his exams next week. He will, of course, be attending the Ecumenical Council in Rome.
The Ecumenical Council took place 10 years ago. I know that. I got a note to the Pope telling him why I'm late. I say, dear Mr. Holiness, please excuse Juan for being 10 years late to the Ecumenical Council. Were you a Cotter fan? Yeah, well, back in the day. I mean, I was like a little kid, but I did like it. It's a long time ago. Yep. His wife was cute. His, who, uh, Epstein? No, no. Mr. Kater's wife. Oh, Mr. Kater. Gabe Kaplan. Gabe Kaplan. Wow. Poker player. Professionally. Really? Mm-hmm. Did not know that. Mm-hmm. Guys know a lot of things. Yeah, and his wife was cute. When I was a child, takes a lot to do this, by the way. Get me to tell a story I've never told. Had a neighbor kid, and, uh, was a girl, and her and I used to pretend that I was Mr. Carter, and she was Mr. Carter's wife. Who's Mr. Carter? Cotter. Cotter. Mr. Cotter. President Carter. Love peanuts. President Carter was in the peanuts. Billy was your brother? Yes. I don't get anything that's happening. Well, why would you? It's all over the place.
Well, the show is Welcome Back, Carter. Yes, I know that part. And then you'll ask me after that. I think Jay was making a Jimmy Carter reference. Yeah. Former president. Yeah. Jimmy R. Carter. There you go. Full circle. What's a bull circle? It's like a bull ring. Oh, boy. Just came around full circle, didn't it? Everybody's just breaking balls? Yeah, man. Remember when we liked each other? What happened? I'll tell you what happened. The housing boom. Listen to this. In 2011, apparently, that was the worst year for home sales since 1963. Wow. Worst year. Last year in America. In America, only 302,000 new homes were sold. In the whole country. Here's the good news. The good news is we've... hit the bottom and we were wondering when would this thing bottom out what that means is now the only way we got is up that's good news that's very good news because uh you know for a long time you would hear people say when are we going to come out of this thing when is it going to be over when are we going to be done with it when now we know we've hit the bottom of it
and were at least coming out because the last quarter of 2011 started to show some upswing for the first time. So that means 2012 is the year of up. Good. Yeah. Finally. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's good news. Another beautiful day here in San Diego on tap for you. It was hot yesterday. Dude, it was hot. Right? Woodsy doesn't have air conditioning. No, I was dying. Were you? Yes. So hot. Yeah, it got hot. I have no air conditioning. It was perfect. Weird. Yeah. You're always perfect. Thanks. Be perfect with air conditioning. Here he comes. Hey, everyone. Hi, city of San Diego. Hi. It's me, Jay. I don't need air conditioning. I don't need nothing. I'm just Mr. Perfect.
Fine I am. I would. You look like you're hot. You suck to be you. I ain't. Hey, you're doing it wrong down there on that surfboard. Yeah. Hey, you. Clean up your mess. You shouldn't be buying that. Exercise. Hey, chubby. Is that another burrito? It must be Mikey I'm talking to. How many servings have you had? It's one too many. Hey, look at your garage. It's a mess. Boy. Is that really how you make love? Hey, don't yell at your kid like that. Don't you know you're supposed to love on him? Hey, that ain't enough roses for your wife. Call it a baker's dozen. Hey, yell at your kid because he's in my way. Get out of my way, bird. Move. Don't you know who I am? I'm Jay. I'm on my way to recycle. I need to fix that bridge. I see a screw loose on the Coronado. I see a few screws loose in there. Y'all need water? I guess I could cry. Anybody down there infertile? I got sperm.
My sperm is the size of trout. He needs lessons on anything. I have some unsolicited advice for you. Oh, you guys are so funny. That's our boy Jay. Unsolicited advice. Have we ever. Any of us ever solicited advice about something? No, but have we gotten advice? Oh, my God. He's going to give it to you one way or the other. Years of experience. I sat here yesterday. Mike was on the phone. I was sitting on the couch. I look over. Jay has one of those wet Lysol wipes, and he is on Mike's board sitting in Mike's chair going, mm-hmm. Cleaning the entire board. There's a lot of enchilada sauce. Jalapenos. In his defense, there are a lot of jalapenos on your board. You just keep spitting the seeds out. Yeah, the seeds get caught. Avocado, wine.
Yes, that's me throughout the show. The quesadilla in there, wedged in, the CD player. Mike wasn't like, hey man, would you clean my board for me? Question was, do you think Jay would be irritated if you messed with his stuff? You're welcome to come clean. I know it for a fact because I've done it. I took a jewel case that holds a CD off of his desk. You took the CD out of it. And you would have thought that I kidnapped his youngest child and held him for ransom. I had his back on that. Weird. You can't leave his CD vulnerable. Yeah. Exposed. Yeah, yeah, Mike, I'll help you. I'll get you a CD cover from Jay. You guys are unbelievable. You're unbelievable. Hey, when we come back, we'll tell you a lot of stuff, including... Somebody that's going to be back in the Super Bowl, the character that we all love is going to be back during a Super Bowl ad. We'll tell you all about it. Don't go away. Show coming up. I always have to look my sexy. That's why I'm wearing these tight, size 42 pants. Be a part of the show. 570-1949. She is against warming things up in microwavable plastics. Supperware. Who isn't? I'm not.
Yeah, consumers that are okay with microwavable stuff. I don't really want plastic in my food. What about microwave popcorn? Do you guys eat microwave popcorn? Yeah, do it over a campfire. Yeah, you do it in paper. Yeah, over a campfire. Do it over a campfire. Yeah, well, maybe they're going to live longer because they are taking that extra precaution. Me, myself, I will eat that plastic. Yes. I put that stuff in there. Plate and all. Word of the day, cricket. So at some point, you're going to hear me say the word cricket between now and nine. And it's pretty cool. So you can get all involved in it. Woodsy has had what we call a Facebook fail. Yes. He was doing something that a lot of us have threatened to do but are not capable of doing. And that is go off Facebook to see how much, you know, can we be productive? Can we actually give this thing up? It lasted for three days. Four days. Four days. And Woods said, I can't do it. Went back on Facebook yesterday. I didn't want to do it.
Yeah. It wasn't a national law. Mm-hmm. Yeah. It's just something I was trying. Yes. Yeah. And, you know, suck it. 75 hours he made it. Continues his record. How do you... Continues his record. How do you feel, Woods? I feel great. Yes. Why wouldn't I? Right. I'm back amongst friends and family. Yeah. And loved ones. That's right. And quipping again on the reg. Quipping. Just quipping it up. He wanted his quips back. I needed my quips. I wanted them. And, you know. If you don't like it, I don't really want to hear about it. So that's my advice to anyone out there. And maybe good advice. Maybe good advice to heed. Yeah, heed it. Heed it real good. I am Mikey. I'm the host of the show. I'm 41 years of age and a good friend of Mr. Stephen R. Woods who sits across from me. He's 36. Lauren O'Brien is the girl that is wearing the Amelia Earhart jacket right now. She's 31 years of age. Did a stand-up comedy routine last night at Saquon. Yep. Sucked. No, you didn't. No, you didn't. She's very tough on herself. And Jay is 48 years old. He is a father of four and our producer. And Nicole's 19 years old. And she is a young, beautiful phone screener. You said young and beautiful. I just said. Well, I tried, but it was drowned out by the sound of Dido. No. It's not Dido.
Sophie B. Hawkins. What's up, dude? Sophie B. Hawkins. You know, Sophie B. Hawkins. That's right. Don't forget the B. She B. Hawkins. There is some big details going on concerning Peyton Manning, but before that, what's going on right here locally, Woodsy? Mike, there is a huge golf tournament going on right now in La Jolla at Torrey Pines, north and south. The Farmers Insurance Open started yesterday. Kyle Stanley and Spencer Levin, of course, both 10 under yesterday, firing 62s. Phil Mickelson, probably the biggest name in the tournament, did not have a good day. Really? Shot a 77 and called that pathetic. Bubba Watson, who won last year, is 3 under. And this is a big, big story in the NFL. So if you haven't been following the, I guess it's now probably considered a saga. Yeah. With Peyton Manning. Peyton Manning is owed about twenty eight million dollars in about six weeks. And he doesn't look like the Colts are going to pay him. He's had three neck surgeries. But Peyton came out and he said, look, here's what I've been doing. I've been going to the horseshoe, which is what they call their workout facility and their headquarters. Right. I've been going there.
Dude, it's a ghost town. I'm watching people walk out with boxes. They have fired the old regime. They brought a new general manager, new head coach. And Peyton goes, look, it's depressing, man. This isn't the place that I know. Well, Colts owner Jim Irsay came out yesterday and said, quote, I don't think it's in the best interest to paint the horseshoe in a negative light. I really don't. The horseshoe always comes first. And I think that's one thing Peyton's always known because he's been around it so long. You know, you keep it in the family. If you've got a problem, you talk to each other. It's not about campaigning or anything like that. He also called Peyton Manning a politician. Oh, wow. That's all your say, though. That is not bad. Boy, that is not bad. That is not bad. That is not too shabby. But then, you know, Peyton came out and said, look, at this point, I think we owe it to each other and the fans to handle this appropriately and professionally. I think we will. Well, I think you won't. Yeah, they're not. Because I think that you already kind of lobbed that. grenade over the fence, and then you get one back and you're like, hey, let's handle this professionally. Yeah. So it would be, it's very doubtful that you'll ever see Peyton Manning in a Colts uniform again, is my personal feeling. Really? Yeah, maybe Miami, maybe Washington is what they're talking about next year. So you think that Andrew Luck is going to be the starter for the Colts? I do. Wow, man. I do. Gosh, darn it.
That is a gnarly thing. I mean, hey, I'm sorry, but I'm not paying them $28 million with a busted neck. I'm just not. Let's see. Happy birthday to Bridget Fonda. How old do you think she is? What's he? 45. She's 48. That's close. Wow. Keith Olbermann, 53 today. Wow. Smart dude. G.E. Smith, the dude that plays guitar in Saturday Night Live. That's right. That guy's creepy. How old do you think he is, L.O.B.? 64. He's 60. Oh, not bad. So creepy looking. He is. And Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is 256 years old today. So happy birthday to him. Happy birthday, Wolfgang. Guy died at 35 years old. Wow. So he got a lot of work done before that. Kind of makes you wonder at 36 what I've been doing with myself. On this day, 36 years ago, Woods. 36 years ago today.
Laverne and Shirley debuted on ABC. Wow. How about that? Brilliant shot. Fun show. Shamil. Shomazo. Because nobody knows what you're saying. Nobody. Nobody knows what you're saying. They don't know. This, I thought, was pretty interesting news. This is on the cover of the UT today. The crime rate in San Diego is way down. In fact, America's finest city is... one of America's safest cities. And I thought that was pretty cool. So we saw a decrease across the board in most areas. However, the murder rate happens to be up. But besides that, all the other crimes, and I'm talking about all violent crimes, crime in general, way down. So it's pretty cool. And even though the murder rate was up, we still rate. In terms of America's 10 biggest cities, we still rate very low in that category. Keep it that way, people. Yeah, very good news. Love your neighbor. Yeah, don't kill him. M1 Ninja's here. Come on over, Ninja. Come on over. Woodsy, can you help with the microphone? I'll get you all dialed in. Excuse the mess. That's Woods' mess. I haven't got to it yet. And you're not going to. I'm going to get to it. M1 Ninja, where did we meet? Or have we not met?
We've met. We have? Yeah. That's what Ella B. said. I think. She got a better memory than I do. Sorry. Maybe it was our sticker strike. Yeah, you got to talk right into it. Yeah, I think actually the first time we met was at a concert that you guys had at 4th and B. There you go. I need you to come a little closer to that thing. There you go. There you go. You can pull it. You can. Everybody's always afraid of that thing. Grab it and pull it. Oh, boy, Jay. Gosh darn. Grab it. Pull it. Grab it. Okay. Pop it up. Pop it out there. Click it a couple times. Got it. Got it. Thank you. That's a new one? Yeah, that's a new one. So you'll hear that. Yeah. I feel lucky to be here on that day. We're the lucky ones. We're the lucky ones. Yes. And then I definitely met Lauren a couple of times. And I live in Encinitas, so. Out in civilian clothes. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Ninja was going to. First of all, I love Ninja because. Ninja went to Harvard. It's so fascinating to me. And we talked to her a few weeks ago and I said, I could almost do an interview with you just because you went to Harvard. Yeah. How many people have you met in your life that went to Harvard? She's the first person I've ever met in person. I know. That went to Harvard. I don't know anybody. What did you study? I was in graduate school there. I got my master's there in human development and psychology. Where was your undergrad? At UCSD. Go Tritons.
Wow. Look at that. That's quite a step up. You can probably analyze all of us. Yeah, it is. Yeah, but actually, everyone, whenever you say, you know how you guys say that you don't like to say that you work at the radio because everyone asks the same question? Right, right. When you say that you're a psych major, everyone thinks that you're a therapist. Right. But psychology is just people. So you guys. You guys do psychology every day. That's a true story. Yeah, and my focus was primarily neuroscience. And so what we know about the brain. You studied neuroscience at Harvard University. That is smarty. No, not really. That's pretty awesome. That's pretty awesome. No, neuroscience is really cool because it's one of the, I think, one of the sciences that's really nascent. So it's brand new. Yeah, it is very what, Mike? It is nascent. Nascent. I agree with you to a small point, to a certain extent. It's semi-nascent. It's semi-nascent. Let's not get crazy. It's strong nascent to quite strong nascent. It's post-nascent. Look at her, nascent. No, it's embarrassing. No, the cool part is that, so we're all growing and changing, and it used to be thought that the brain was done once you're a teenager. Right. But now we know that...
throughout your whole life. I'm getting dumber. No, I'm actually getting dumber. You're getting smarter and you're making new connections. And so if we know that as a teacher and also as a student, it can really change how we think about education. Yeah. So, so right now, you know, you're, you're making new connections as we speak. Are you, I wanted to know, are you intimidated that first day at Harvard? When you walk on campus, you got your backpack, you're like, Oh, God. Yeah. I'm at Harvard. Yeah. No, definitely. And every day. Every day. It never goes away. It never goes away. Competitive. You know, not in the School of Education, everyone is a teacher or cares about learning, and so people were really warm. But definitely in other areas, I could see competition occurring. But it's just, it's cool because, you know, my graduation speaker, Bill Gates. Oh, wow. Holy cow. Did you get to party with him? Yeah, he's a rock star. Bill Gates. No big deal. Wow. That's pretty gnarly. What do you say to you guys?
He, you know, said the typical nerdy stuff. Greetings. Yes. Greetings. Greetings, Harvard. Learn code. Graduation speech. Dot. Rom. Calm. Yes. Control. All. Delete. That's pretty much it. Verbatim. Wow. Identical speech. Yeah. Identical Bill Gates from all of us. You said that you wanted to tell listeners something. Yeah. I just, I was thinking about coming in and I was really stoked because I listen to you guys all the time. And I. I thought about how I never was into radio, like morning shows. I remember in high school being like, I roll. I'd rather listen to some Snoop Dogg on the way to school. But I just got into your show first through a story that LOB shared that kind of just got to me. And I started thinking, how weird is it that I listen to you guys every day on the way to work? And even if I'm not working, I'll listen to you guys. And I think it's just cool that you guys share so much with... san diego and the world and uh and people really get a lot from it like um i have i went to the meet and greet last february that was supposed to be like a singles mixer and i was gonna go with a girlfriend and i was on the way there i got on the five i'm like yeah i'm gonna do this i've never done this kind of thing before and she calls and says i'm not going i'm not gonna do it and
And I'm kind of stubborn. Well, I'm really stubborn. And I said, well, I'm already on the road. I have to keep going. And I'm by myself. I'm like, I'm going to go to a singles mixer by myself. But I went and it was at the bowling tavern. Yeah. Awesome place. Yeah. So I was all nervous because I'm kind of a shy person and I try not to be. And so I go and I'm by myself and I'm in line to get a drink. And there's these two girls in front of me. And I'm like, I should just. sit with them you know they're girls and i'm here to meet guys but i'll sit with them and so i like tap one on the shoulder and i'm like i know this is weird and i'm not trying to pick up on you um but do you mind if i sit with you guys uh and and these two girls were awesome and i ended up just hanging with them yeah and now they're two of my good girlfriends really going to one's baby shower wow that is cool yeah and uh so natalie and lucy if you're listening It's me. Did you guys kiss? Oh, wow. She's feeling my lines, pal. No, no. We're all straight girls. You can be straight. I'm still friends with girls who aren't. That's really cool. You know, we hear a lot from listeners that one of the things that they like about listening to the Mikey show is that they get the feeling that they know us and that we are all friends and they consider us friends even when they don't know us. So that's a cool thing. So thank you for saying that. I'm still good friends with them.
And it's just cool that you guys are here and doing your thing, even on days when I'm sure you guys have off days. Everyone does. Yes. Had one yesterday. Yeah, yesterday we were turd. Yesterday was a turd. That's right. It was a big steaming turd. But we're going to redeem ourselves today. Thanks for having me. Thanks for coming in. All right, so I want to play this clip for you. It may not mean anything to you until I explain because it's very brief, but I'll explain. How can I handle work on a day like today? Apparently Ferris Bueller is going to be back and you're going to see him during the Super Bowl. And here's how it's going to work. Apparently he's teamed up with some company and Ferris Bueller will make his debut back in our lives during the Super Bowl during some commercial. Which has got to be good news for a lot of people because a lot of people really dug Ferris Bueller. I thought that he was a dork. I'm the only person in the world.
No, that was a great movie. That thought that Matthew Broderick, he wasn't believable to me as a cool guy. What? To me, he came off as a... He's eclectically cool. Yes. Hipster cool. Hipster cool. He wasn't like popular guy cool. No, he wasn't football guy cool. When you put it in that way, I almost wish I could get in the DeLorean and go back in time. Because at the time, if I had thought about it maybe that way, I'd have liked him. But I thought... This guy isn't cool to me. You used it as a frame of reference. You watched the movie like we all did, and you used your high school as a frame of reference. And in your mind, much like I did, I kind of thought the same thing. I'm like, that guy would get killed at my school. I don't think he was a popular guy. Yeah, he was really popular. Everybody loved him. That was the point. But I think he was like... Because of his like, I don't give a this. He wasn't like. But he was considered like, he was the coolest. He was the guy. He was the coolest. He was the guy. And so when, exactly what Wood said. My high school, that guy would have been upside down. Yeah. Inside a trash can. Atomic wedgie. Yes. You know, Hanes band over his forehead. But didn't it make, it made me want to go to that school. Because I was like, that school is progressive. That school is cool. Hillary Clinton just.
came out publicly and said, if President Obama is reelected, she's not going to remain Secretary of State. Good. Why? Because I don't like her. Okay, well, listen to this, Woods. What is it, her calves? Yes, it's her calves. Listen to this. She's getting questions. She says, I think after 20 years, and it will be 20 years, of being on the high wire of American politics and the challenges that come up with it, It'd probably be a good idea to just find out how tired I am. And so she'll do that. When this term is up for President Obama, she's stepping aside, which made me think to myself, oh, I wonder what would have happened had you become president. I guess you would have just decided that it was 20 years of politics. She's tired. She's tired. She's going to take it to the House. I have a theory, though. Go ahead. I think Bill is sick. Really? Speculation and complete. Women's intuition. Really? You think Bill is sick? Doesn't look right, doesn't sound right to me. So you think that Hillary Clinton is hanging up Secretary of State because Bill is ill? To be with Hubby. Really? Wow. We'll see how it all plays out. We'll see how it plays out. He hasn't been sounding right to me. Or really looking right to me. Really? All those cigars. Remember when... Remember when... It's his favorite reference.
It's the only political reference that he knows, so he runs with it. Hey, Matt, did you know that Bill Clinton... Yes, I do. I do, I do, I do. You sure? Yeah. All right. Cigar. Got it. Cuban. Monica. Jan Brewer is the governor of Arizona. She's the woman that got... Obama all up in a tizzy because she was pointing at his chest. Now very famous picture. She's pointing at his chest and giving him the business as he comes off Air Force One. And, oh, by the way, Obama did talk about it. They asked him and he talked about what was going on. There's a picture out there of you with Governor Jan Brewer. What was going on there? She said you were tense, thin-skinned. She's all over the airways right now. Yeah, well, you know, what I've discovered is that I think it's always a good publicity for a Republican if they're in an argument with me. But this was really not a big deal. Were you tense? Yes, it was. You know, Diane, I'm usually accused of not being tense enough, right? Too relaxed. So you weren't? No. Well, there's a copy of her letter to him. I'm surprised he was able to read the letter.
She's got the worst penmanship. Try to read that. I mean, some words I make out, but it was hard for me. I'll give it a whirl. Dear Mr. President, welcome to Arizona. You've, see? You've earned, you've, oh, you've arrived in a state at the forefront of America's recovery and her future. We were hot at the bank. We were hot at the bank. We were at the bottom of the fist in the ice creation. Today, R have a balanced budget and R in the top ten four-job election. I'm proud of that Lord won recovery. The result of many tough decisions, courage and persistence. My hope is while you are here, you will have a chance to see our tremendous... regulate first land. We both love this great bantry, but we fundamentally designer on how to fest make Travis grow and proper once again. I'd love on off anonymity to share with you how we've been able to seen Arizona around with hard choices that turned out for the right arm. And of course, may offer to unit the branch.
And by branch, stick stands with respect to Jan. Stick stands. That's done. That's a done deal. Man. She was in Catholic school. She is eloquent. Yes. That is identical to my mom's handwriting. And that's Catholic school handwriting. That's idiot. Man, it's bad. I can read that. That looks like my mom's handwriting. Holy cow. It's a lot of swoops and loops. Hey, Woods, I'm with you. I didn't understand a freaking... Well, I think I made perfect sense since I read it. You were able to translate it. I was an English major, so that's shooting fish in a barrel for me. I think Obama was like, why don't you just read it out loud to me? Can you dictate it, please? Because I don't understand a word of it. 570-1949 is our number. You can call us about anything you want at the beginning and end of every show. And we start at 530, and I allow calls then and also now. So if you have anything that you want to call about, you can. We would love to talk to you. A couple other things that are going on. This was a good thing. They foiled a bomb plot at a school in Utah, Roy High School.
Apparently two kids, one was 18, one was 16, apparently sent a text message to a friend. She thought that it looked a little bit shady. She reported it to school administrators who then went to these kids' homes and found that over the last few months, they had been planning to pull off some giant bomb at the school. And then... They were planning on commandeering a plane and flying out. Yeah, good luck. Really? Yeah. But the plan was foiled. Good. And nothing happened. Everybody's okay, but... Scared the heck out of a lot of people. Come on, kids. Little P words. Yeah, they got to be on a list for a long time. Yeah, I know. You got to be in jail a long time. And then remember the taco governor or the taco mayor? You just call him the mayor or the governor. Yeah. The taco-nator. You call him your boy. The taco-nator. The taco-nator. The guy, the mayor in Connecticut that, you know, upset Latinos because they said that the police were targeting them in this town.
So they asked him about it, and they said, you know, what do you think about this? And he said, maybe I'll have some tacos when I go home tonight. What are you going to do for the Latino community tonight, sir? He said, maybe I'll have some tacos. Upset people. 500 tacos were delivered to him in his office on Thursday. Jealous? Yes. I love that so much. That's a good move. 500 tacos. And apparently there were... No reports of him actually eating tacos like he said. Right. So we don't know that he actually lived up to his word. Yes, he do. We will just call him the Taconator. Obviously. Obviously. Or your best friend. Yeah. Your old pal. Your compadre. Taconator. Because I'm Hispanic. That was your nickname in high school, right? Yes. That was, in fact, my nickname.

I'm jealous. You cannot. You cannot win. Perfect. We're going to be playing buzzword here in just a second. By the way, L.O.B.'s dance party is going to be happening in a live broadcast. It's going to be happening at a live broadcast on February 17th, which is a Friday. And we would love to get every M1 in M1 Nation down to the House of Blues. That's where we're going to be doing this.
Now, L.O.B., you're going to be living out a fantasy to dance like a pussycat. That's right. I've always wanted to. I've never been part of it. And this is it. You said the window is closing. The window is closing because I'm 31 years of age. And I feel like I'm on the downward decline in the hotness factor. Which is not true. It's not true. It's true. And so I want to do it now before I'm like creepy up there. It's not true. And to prove that it isn't true, I'll let you know that. there's a lot of women that want to join her and say they want to get their thing on. Now, here's what you got to do. Go to MikeyShow.com. You'll see right away when you get there, there's a place that you can click to sign up for it. And L.O.B. was saying off the air, she wants to call these chicks to the mat and go, let's do this. I got a ton of messages from people. A lot of those people, I haven't seen their names yet in the sign-up. So I'm wondering what everyone's all scared of. Right. Don't be a scaredy cat. Be a pussycat. Yeah. That just came to me. Oh, I love it. I love it. It just came to me. Don't be a scaredy cat. Be a pussycat. Look at you. Oh, that's awesome. She's good with those. Yeah, she is. Okay.
And sign up. A lot of people are big talkers. Yeah. You have until noon today to sign up or else I guess you're just a scaredy cat. That's right. You got until noon to go to MikeyShow.com. All you're going to do is fill out the little form, send us a picture, and you're into the auditions this week. It's going to be fun. Get a word. That's what you do to play. Let's do it. Let's do it. Jay again. What's the prize? Today's prize is a pair of tickets to the Monster Energy AMA Supercross at Qualcomm Stadium February 11th. There you go. M1 Trophy Lounge from Chula Vista. Who do you want? We got Woods. You got Woods hanging in line. Woods is good at buzzword. M1 Diane from Santee. Who do you want? I'll take L.O.B. for my key. M1 Mix from El Cajon. Are you there? Mix.
from the next cell. I said the talkinator. All right, fine. The talkinator. The talkinator. Hang on the line. All right, now, here is how this is going to work. We are going to have Jay give us a word, then clues, and we've got to yell out whatever it is. Are you guys ready? Yes, Jay. What's the word, dude? The word is man. Man. Spell it. M-A-N. He always spells it. Man. Always spells it. Man. T-H-E. Here we go. All right. A member of the clergy. Clergyman. A member. Clergyman. Of the clergy. Man of the clergy. The preacher man. Man of the cloth. Man of the cloth. Mikey here. Man of the cloth. Weird that you got the. Is that a real word? Yeah, it is. Here we go. Street level. Man of the cloth. Wow. Man, how did you get that at street level? That was a tenth of a second too late. Wow. According to ZZ Top.
Oh, gosh, dang it. I know. I thought you said accordion. Dang it. Gosh, darn it, Jay. Accordion, ZZ Top. Polish Man. All right, here we go. Web-slinging hero. Spider-Man. Mikey. What's wrong with me today? Well played. Here we go. Kids fear him. Boogie Man. LLB. Bad position. Man on the field. On the totem pole. Low man on the totem pole. Woods. That's what I said. I know. Man on the field. Here we go. The face on the lunar surface. Man on the moon. Mikey. Man, somebody's hot today. Somebody's hot. I never, I never. Score. I never. The score is Mike three, Lauren one, Woods three. Oh, gosh. Here we go. I hate man. To treat very roughly. Man handle. Woods.
Early to bed, early to ride. May I make your man healthy, wealthy and wise? Wow, the whole building just shook. I would have never. There's no way. You didn't have to get it out quick. You could have taken a week to do that. Part of the game. All right, here we go. New word. Yes, thank God. The new word is dog. Let's do it. D-O-G. Dog. Pooped like a pooch. I'm tired. Slow moving time in the hottest season. Lazy dog. What the hell? Dog days of summer. There you go. Dog days of summer. Dog days of summer. Dog days of summer. Lazy dog. Lazy dog. Here we go. Kibble. That was a tie between Lauren and Woods. Okay. What's the score, L.O.B.? It's Mike 3, Lauren 3, Woods 7. Oh, wow.
So we have a few left here. Backward decision making. Dog backwards. Down facing dog. Doggy side. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. You pre-money. That's always a good decision. I tried to stop the words. Wait, say it again. Here we go. Dog backwards. Backward decision making. Dog face. Loser. Dog face. A backward decision. The dog! Tail wagging the dog. Oh, gosh. What? Tail wagging the dog. I've never heard that. Tail wagging the dog. There's a movie called Wag the Dog. You guys remember that? Yeah, I know that one. Okay, here we go. Okay. How about a new word? No. We just started dog. Yes. Army ID necklace. Dog tags! Gosh darn it. Time between Mikey and Woods. Okay, we need to figure out where we are now because I've got three remaining questions. Mike, four. Lauren, three. Woods, eight.
So I need a couple of four-pointers here, apparently. That'll work. Pacino. Dog day. Dog day afternoon. Damn it, I knew it. There you go, Mikey. Oh, boy. We got Woods and Mike tied for eight, and I only have three. Here we go. Labor hard. Dog and pony. Dog tired. Dog tired. Work like a dog. Yeah, there you go, Ella B. Work like a dog. Gosh darn it, she's back in. She's one behind. This is it. She's back in. This is it. Oh, gosh. Oh, gosh. Oh, gosh. This is for all the marbles. Is this the last one? Yep. Is this the last one, Jay? Oh, gosh. Oh, gosh. Is this the last one, Jay? This is it. Jay, is this the last one? Jay, tell us if it's the last one. This is the last one. Here we go. Restaurant leftover pouch. Dog bag! Oh, my goodness. That is very close. I'm going to have to do another one to figure this out. All right. I said doggy bag. I figured Mikey would get that one.
Here we go. What's the word? A dead tie. What's the word? What is it? The word is fish. F-I-S-H. Oh, fish. I thought you said fetch. Dr. Seuss counting books. Two fish, two fish, two fish. Say it how you want it to be. One fish, two fish, three fish, four fish. One fish, two fish. Do another freaking clue. Red fish, blue fish. Ah, she got it. You should give her longer. No, there it again. Let me tell you, she earned it. And she earned that. Boy, those four-pointers helped so much. She came back from oblivion. That was pretty awesome. I will give props where props are due. M1 Diane, are you there?
I'm there, but I feel so bad for Woods. He got gypsed. Oh, I always get gypsed. He was running away with it. He has just as much opportunity to get it as any of us. That's right. And L.O.B. brought four points. Four points. You're damned if you do. You're damned if you don't. That's right. Somebody play me straight up one time. Play me straight up. It's worked for your advantage, too. Once. M1, Diane, hang on the line, okay? Can't take the kids straight up. You're welcome for nothing, Diane. Cannot take me straight up. Can't. Here is some good news. Here is some good news, Woods, for people like you and me. Apparently, there was a study done. And the study says that people that eat fried foods are not any more likely to get heart disease than the rest of us. Typical fat guy. True story. Yeah, I believe it. You do? But that's not all you eat. You might have to eat something else besides fried food. Well, I understand. Now, this is what it says. Now, this, by the way, was a real study that was done that said that if you eat foods that are cooked in olive oil, it's better for you. Sure. So if you're cooking stuff in olive oil, you're generally going to be good to go. I wonder if fried chicken tastes as good in olive oil as it does in...
Lard. Lard. Vegetable oil. That's the way that our grandparents used to cook, man. Yeah, Crisco. I use coconut oil to fry stuff, and you can get it so it's in the way that lard is. It's kind of like a gelatinous sort of thing. Like a paste. Yeah, and that's how I find it. It doesn't taste like coconut, and it works good. It doesn't taste like coconut. But see, I'd be okay if it did. A little chicken with coconut? That's not bad. Yeah, that's not bad. A good combo. They did a study with 40,000 people in Spain. Wow. And it was over 15 years, man. They were really like, you know, this wasn't just some... Flash in the pan? No, man. It was some real dill. Nice one. Thank you. But people that were eating fried stuff were okay. Kind of makes you think... You can think about your grandparents and stuff. They ate some pretty crazy stuff. For sure. That's all they ate, man. Fried food. They ate some real crazy stuff. Bacon grease right there. Yep. We'd smear it on bread. For real? Yeah. Wow. There's nothing wrong with the taste of bacon, man. Sorry, I bet it tasted good. Wasn't good for you, but I bet it tasted good. Fried potatoes. Fried fish. Fill it full of Folgers coffee can. It was just like... Go ahead and isolate that, L.O.B. Folgers?
Well, I believe you said fogers. Yes, you did. It would have been okay if you said fogers. Fogers. Every day. I love to let Jay run away with something. Yeah. Because there's bound to be a flub in there. When we stop after he says something, his heart must just start racing. He starts to sweat. Do you, Jay? No. I don't care. It's like this. It's like a mountainside that you find a little vein of gold. And you know if you start blasting away, there's just gold in there. In them there hills. There's gold in them there hills. That's true. And you let him go long enough. You let him go long enough, he is going to give you some material. Listen to this. Well, for our power. Oysters. Here's the interesting part. You have to be naked. 70s.
Tim Conway, Don Knox flick. Hopefully she gets put in the general populace, whatever it's called. General populace. There, I got to know. Whatever you think you know about this man is irreverent. A little hot. Jay has not loaded all the rest of it. There's probably 30. Yep. By the way, yesterday... I emailed him yesterday morning and I said, hey, Jay, I'm missing the little drops of the lady getting the tattoo. And he got them for me immediately. Now, these are usually play when Jay's making fun of me, you know, for being overweight. And Jay got those up the same exact day. Seems to have misplaced the files on himself. And there's Marty Schuttenheimer. That's correct. Doesn't say that I shall not kill. It doesn't. It does not. No, it never says that anywhere. We're looking to get a skateboard. I just don't want to get discharged too much money for it. There you go. It's our boy, Jay. It's your boy. He has not. And I'm telling you, L.O.B. was playing some on her computer the other day, and they were...
killing us. The Denver Broncos. But Jay has not loaded them. I'm going to get right on that. I'm sure you are. Put down the red bandana, buddy. Joe Montana? Joe Montana. Oh, those are great. M1 Bisquick is on the line from Santee. Saw L.O.B. last night. How you doing, man? O.P.B.? O.P.B., yeah. First of all, Lauren, I have to say I'm I'm kind of upset and disappointed because I saw you kind of in a lobby way, and our eyes met, and there was, like, this tension. What? And this, like, feel. You looked right at me, and I was going to go up and talk to you, and then you turned around and walked into the venue. No chance. You guys had a moment? There's no chance that happened. She Hollywooded you. You had a moment, and then it was fleeting, and then she went away? There's no chance that happened. I know what he looks like.
She's pretty famous. Oh, shut up. She has those rules like you can't really look directly at her. I know what RJ looks like. I didn't see him. Show Hollywood. You're real good. No autographs, please. Not now. No pictures, people. It's before a performance. If it was beforehand, I was probably freaking out because I was 15 minutes late. Weird. I had my friends with me and they were giving me a hard time about that for the rest of the night. I'll let it go. I'm sorry. Hey, listen, I am sorry. Yeah. On behalf of her. On behalf of L.O.B. I promise I didn't see you. I am sorry that she big-timed you that way. Mike, you created a monster and you hired L.O.B. Listen, Biscuit. I was in the zone, the nervous zone. I'm really sorry, but before a show, L.O.B. has a policy. That is not true. You can't look at her. You can't talk to her. That is not true. And one ninja's been to my shows and I talk to people. I just probably didn't see. And if you communicate with her by telephone. It's only through taps. She will tap on the phone for yeses and nos, but that's the only way that she'll do it. This means leave me alone. Didn't he take a picture with you? I didn't see him. So sorry, man. I promise I didn't see him. I wanted to ask her, on a scale of 1 to 10, how nervous were you going out on that show last night? I was only probably at like a 3.
which is probably a bad thing because I kind of asked the bed on stage. So it's probably better to be more nervous because then you do better. Well, I thought you did great. I thought I did terrible, but thank you. Yeah, she's very hard on herself, and she does great. Emma and Gloria from San Diego. Hi. Hi, Mikey. How are you today? Good. What were you calling about? I was calling about your comment about fried food. Yes, ma'am. Do you guys think that eating fried food is healthy? No, no, no. We didn't say that eating fried food was healthy. What we said was that there was a study done with 40,000 people in Spain, and it was a study that took over 15 years to do, and what they found was that long-term heart risk did not have much to do with fried food. Well, don't shoot the messenger. This was a study that was done over 15 years. Shoot the Spanish. Yeah, shoot the Spanish. No, don't shoot the Spanish. Well, here's the deal. And here's the deal. This researcher from Germany's University of Regensburg. Right. He did warn people that if they eat said fried food, what it will do is give you more calories.
But it is not directly linked to heart disease, which is what a lot of people thought. Now, everything in moderation, I think, is the point, Gloria. I'm a doctor, and I see heart disease every day. And I see obese people every day from eating food that is contaminated with antibiotics, steroids, and genetically modified products. I wish we could have more of a crackle on the phone. Yeah, it should be more crackling. Anyway, I would be interested in reading this study because I would have to say that it's not read. Thank you. Lay off me, I'm starving. So it's back to the theory bit. One theory. Yeah. Don't shoot the messenger. Yeah, don't shoot the messenger, man. This is just what they said. It's what the Spaniard said. Yeah, it's not my deal. Won't you listen to what the Spaniard said? That's right. It was a song by Wings. Oh. Mac, you know all about wings, don't you?
Favorite band. I was thinking chicken wings. You hear about the cocaine that got sent to the UN? Wow. I'll explain next. This is The Mikey Show. FM 94.9. There's a reason BMW is number one. Woodsy, who is the new head coach in Tampa? The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have hired Greg Shano from the University of Rutgers University. It's kind of an odd hire, I thought. 68 and 67 overall record as a head coach. However...
Did kind of bring them back to respectability. They did play in six bowls under him, having only played in one before. Has the reputation as a disciplinarian, which goes so well in the NFL. They just love guys that are disciplinarians. They don't like it at all. Yeah, they don't like it at all. And there hasn't been a real good run of college coaches other than Harbaugh that have come in and been able to make that transition. We'll see how that works out. Also, really good news for San Diego State. The Aztec football team got some really good transfers from the Pac-12. So they've got quarterback Ryan Katz from Oregon State. I mean, just that's not a spot that you want it to end up. 35 pounds of it, by the way. What? Holy. Yeah, 35 pounds of cocaine in at least one bag turned up at the United Nations headquarters. Apparently, somebody sent it there and didn't put their return address. That's a weird thing. Why would you send it there? I don't know, but they put a big United Nations symbol on it, had the lock and the seal, said diplomatic mail, and they put it on.
A ship and sent it there and they found it at the port and went, oh, look. Hi. It's cocaine. Let's party. 35 pounds of it. I can't wait for this to be solved. Yeah. I want to know so bad what the heck is going on. What was the person thinking? What's it about? Why? The whole thing. I wonder if Columbia wants to be a part of the UN. Yeah, I'm buying a way in. That's their gift. Are they? Maybe that's how they're doing it. 35 pounds. It's an offering. Newt Gingrich is leading Mitt Romney 52% to 37%. How? How is that possible? How is that possible? I don't know because most people think he's a clown. Well, most conservatives really value family value. And that dude has none. Uh-huh. That's the deal. By the way, if you would like, I'm going to give you a little preview here of a new Van Halen song called Chinatown. I know how big of a Van Halen fan I used to be. And whenever anybody asks me, well, which version do you like better, Dave or Sammy? I say, whichever version Eddie's playing guitar for. Jay, what do you think? I think Sammy was just a patch. Yep. So you like that? Yeah. That's new stuff.
That's a sample of the new stuff. Woodsy, what do you think? I could not be more in. L.O.B.? It sounds like that's the kind of music I want to listen to if I want to have a headache. Yes. And a lot of people may say that. This is a preview of a new Van Halen song with David Lee Roth called Blood and Fire. It's dorky to me. Yeah. I like it. I like it. Yeah. He's sick at the pike. They're a little rusty. What, L.O.B.? I think the song's called Right Now, the song they did. Yeah. It was for the... Crystal clear Pepsi commercial. Yeah, that was with Sammy. That was Sammy. He's so dorky, though. But it sounds like this? Yeah, it's like that dorky. Reminds you of that? This could be in a commercial. I'm in on it. Jay? I love it. I love it, too. June 1st, baby. Staples Center, L.A. Are you going? Hell yeah, I'm going. It's on a Friday. I'm going to L.A. I got buddies flying in from Dallas. What a concert? Yeah, my wife didn't know that, so. Babe, I'm going to the Staples Center. That's cool, but they're going to be in San Diego, too. Yeah, cool. Probably on a Wednesday.
This is one called Stay Frosty. What is that one? Uh-oh. Oh, God. What preacher man says, Stay Frosty? Come on. Stay frosty. Just picture myself in an aluminum boat. Answer his own question there. Just going noodling. There, two out of three, Beth. There you go. What does Stay Frosty mean? Be cool. Stay frosty, Mike. There you go. Hey, be cool. So, yeah, there's three previews for you. Of the three of them, I think Chinatown is the best of them. Would you buy that record? I don't know yet. Really?
I don't know. Probably not. Probably not because I just, I feel like it's past its prime, you know? What is? You know? I mean, there's no question it is. It's past its prime. Yeah. So I got to know that going in and just deal with it? Yeah, you got to deal with it. I mean, it's not like it's a new Slaughter album. That's Van Halen. It's like Pizza Baby. And it doesn't get you that he's wearing suspenders. Overalls. Overalls. Yeah, that got me. That did get you? Yeah, that got me. But I bet you, hopefully, you know, when they do the tour. and, like, the big arenas, like, Staples Center, that he'll be in his gear. Yeah, he'll be all polished. I think it's great they're going to be at the Staples Center woods, but what about here in San Diego? You know, that's a local show, and they're going to be here, too. Okay. Aren't you interested in that? Yeah, like I said, it's probably going to be on a Wednesday night, which is hard for me to do. But what about other people? Oh, yeah, yeah. Have a ball. On June 14th. Oh, okay. That's...
A Friday, maybe? That'd be a Friday, then. That'd be awesome. Yeah, I'll go to both. All right. Let me give you the day. Woods may be right, but, I mean, it's a San Diego date. People may want to know it. It is a Thursday night. Oh. Well, I can handle that. It's a Thursday night. Say where they're playing? Yeah, they're playing at the sports arena here in San Diego. Solid. Yeah. So feast. Would you go, Jay? Not to the sports arena. Oh, Jay. Oh, it sounds horrible there. Jay's into the acoustics. Yeah, he loves the acoustics. Woodsy? Yeah, I'll go. You're already going to Staples Center? Yeah, I'm going to go to both. Yeah. Well, depending on how the first one goes. Yeah. Let's see. 570-194-9. Don't forget, you have until noon today, ladies. If you want to dance with L-O-B. Yeah, don't be shy. Yeah. Don't be a scaredy cat. Be a pussy cat. Wow.
I like it. Oh, yeah. Okay. Strong. It's quite strong. I just saw some submissions, by the way. Mm-hmm. Oh, the... Just flipping through them. Solid. The submissions are solid. Hotties. I like the bikinis, ladies. Hottie Boombotties. M1 Cat from Santee. Are you there? I'm here. What did you think? I just have to say, I'm going to get played for it, but that's almost as bad as Steven Tyler doing the national anthem. I mean, it's just... It's awful. I'm sorry. I love you guys. You're awesome. But, yeah. Hey, listen. I'm not disagreeing completely, and I'm Van Halen guy from way back. I wish they'd do an instrumental album, personally, because it gets a little dorky for me when he starts it. But he's always done that. It's a lot worse, though, when you're...
in your late 50s. It was one thing when he did that and he had long blonde hair and he was 28. Yeah. Badass. You know, that was one thing. Eyeliner on. You know, now it's kind of bizarre with the overalls. Well, I think you, you know, I think you go to the show to see Ain't Talking About Love and Eruption and, you know, stuff like that and Unchained and, you know, you will have to deal. Now, listen, when he plays that Stay Frosty. It's Bud Light time. I'm going to make a run. I'm going to hit the head. I'll be back. You're not doing Stay Frosty. They wrote those to get in commercials, I think, is the only purpose that they have. Wait a minute, Woods. Hey, brother. We need one? You need a refill? Dude, if you leave now, you're going to miss Stay Frosty. Yeah, it's fine. They're starting to Stay Frosty. I'll grab four beers. I'll be back. You want anything to snack on? Uh-uh. And there's no way Lauren's leaving. Stay Frosty's your favorite song. Yeah, this is from the commercial, the Bud Light commercial. I will be right back. I'm hitting the head. I'll be back. Dude, it's the Bud Light commercial. That's okay. It's fine. I don't want to hear it. Stay Frosty. Oh, come on. They're probably going to, like, I bet you Wolfgang's going to swing from a big inflatable Frosty. I don't want to see it. I just want to grab some beers.
Should have gotten the Bud Lights before Stay Frosty. Yeah, this is actually a perfect time to get them. No. The longer you guys keep talking to me, the longer... Wait, hey, dude, this is where it gets real good. Ready? Sing along. No, I'm going to get the beers. I'm going to grab them. I'm telling you, bro, you're going to miss the best part. You're lost, man. No, you guys enjoy it. Let me know how it is, though. You want a t-shirt? Dude, you're doing it. I'm trying to get into Stay Frosty. Stay Frosty. Like that. Hey, if you're going up there anyway, will you get me the concert tea that says stay frosty on it? Get me the frosty mug. Yes. Yes. Guaranteed it's there. I see it's a little better. Kat, does that do anything for you? She's gone. It's not at Sports Arena. It's at the Viejas Arena, which is the old Cox Arena, which is at SDSU.
Wrong, sir. Wrong. I just looked it up and Garrett called in as well. Viejas, isn't that... Valley View is... Oh, they're all after casinos now, right? It's now the sports arena. Yeah. It is? Yeah. Yeah. So it's a better arena. Stay frosty. No, stay frosty. Stay frosty. Are the acoustics... I think they're better there. Viejas, yeah. Is that the one by San Diego State? Yeah, that place is awesome. I don't know. I saw Taylor Swift. The other one, I thought it was not that bad. Anybody? It's not like it's Taylor Swift. Well, I know, but... Nice Bieber. I know. I know it. Woodsy J, you guys excited about seeing L.O.B. and her nighty, negligee get-up? Negligés are really, like, creepy. I have a question. Yeah, go ahead, Woods. Bear Midriff? No way! Come on! L.O.B., you quitter, quitter. You got a highlight. You can do it, though. Midriff now. You could pull that off. No problem. It's trashy. Oh, L-O-B. You go in a bikini on the beach. Yeah, on the beach. It's better to leave room for the imagination. Give us... Skin. I know you can't tell us, but give us an idea of what you might be wearing. Prom gown. Definitely fishnets. High heels? Heels and or boots. How does chick dance?
Well, you guys will know that day because you're doing the drag race. For that kind of stuff because we're going to be real slinky. Yeah. So better, I think, to have the heels. Probably either some sort of booty shorts. Ooh, yes. Or like a... Is there like a house of booty shorts? Yep. Where do you get booty shorts? Nikki over at Bit of Burlesque is helping us. Yeah. She's going to outfit us with her costume department. Yeah. And maybe some sort of like corset type thing. Oh. What if I want to get a pair of booty shorts for my wife, Rebecca? Where does one go? F Street. Really? That's the only place? Not the only place. I don't think it would look weird if I walked in there. I think if I walked into F Street, an adult bookstore, I don't think anybody would take a picture. You could pretty much go into any place that sells women's clothing now and get booty shorts. Really? Gap Kids actually sells them now. Yeah, Gap Kids. Get them smaller than you think they should be. Pervert. That guy, he even has a philosophy on booty shorts. He's got a philosophy on how to buy the right booty shorts. If she says medium, you get small. I like those booty shorts. I'm kind of in on those. The booty shorts? I have sparkly booty shorts from New Year's Eve that I may bring back. Is it?
Let me ask you as a woman, is it sexier to you, a dude that can change a tire or a guy that can make you like a gourmet meal? Tire, 100%. Tire? 120%. What if he can do both? Oh, you are too. Oh, gosh, dude. I give up. I mean, I just absolutely 100%. Hey, look at me. I'm cooking with a tire iron. Hey, San Diego. It's me, Jay. I'm Super Jay. Jay. Everything about me is perfect. Look at me. I got on a grilling apron that says, world's best dad. It also says,
World's best husband, world's best skater, world's best surfer, world's best lovemaker, world's best dad, world's best brother, world's best sister, world's best broadcaster, world's best employee, world's best producer. You're finally getting it. Y'all look like ants down there. Really, really lazy ants. Lazy ants. Hey, don't anybody freak out that my skinny wiener is... Right there for everybody to see up there. When I'm done flying in this costume, I'm going to return it. Hey, look, I see a nickel. I'm going to go down and get it. Oh, yeah, I ain't letting that go to waste. So you're saying I'm cheap. Heck, that's what I give to my son for his allowance. Over a course of two months. You've got to earn it. Oh, boy. Yes, my muscles are real. That guy is unbelievable. If you're a new listener to the Mikey Show, our friend Jay, he'll self-gloss himself. Big self-glosser. Big, big self-glosser. Hey, you know how to change a tire, Mike? No, he calls someone. I know how. Do you? Yeah. I do know how. Do you do it if it happens? No. Me neither. You don't either would? Here's my problem with the whole tire changing. I know how to...
change the tire, put it on, put the lug nuts back on. I don't know how to work the jack and put it in the right spot. I've never been able to do that. That's the part that's really important. Excuse me? You don't want to bend the frame of the car. Exactly. You can just put it on the axle. See, I've tried it. I've always had SUVs, and it's never worked. Well, a lot of times on SUVs, they show you the jack point. There's like an arrow on a little piece of paper that shows you exactly where your jack points are. What piece of paper? It's usually hooked right to your jack in your car. So it's sexier to you, L.O.B., that? Yeah. I'll do the cooking. You don't worry about that. You do the manly stuff that I don't want to do. So what if a guy invites, and let's already say the guy looks like Taye Diggs, okay? Yeah. You come over to his house. Now I'm picturing Taye Diggs. It's a done deal. He doesn't even have to cook. There's no food eating. He doesn't have to make it a challenge. He'll have to make me a bologna sandwich. Yeah. Well, he probably will. He can make me a hamburger. I don't even eat red meat. Yeah, but you would that night. I would eat it that night. Oh, yeah, I would. You have a bologna sandwich, all right? Yeah. Yeah. Boy, would you. But you go over to his place, and he's chopping up some, you know, and throwing it at you. He's got knife skills. No. I'm doing nothing for you? No. Make me feel inferior as a woman. Really? You cook better than me? I never thought of it that way. Nor did I. You don't want to do something that shows her up.
Yeah, if you can cook, that is so cute and sweet and everything. But if you do it better than me and you're all fancy, no. You don't like it? It's actually a turnoff? Not a turnoff. It just makes me feel like, well, I guess I'm going to step up my game and compete with this. One in five people would skip something extremely important if it meant that or the Super Bowl. And I'm going to tell you what it is. Also, because L.O.B.'s milk. Shake brings all the boys to the yard. Yes. Jay wrote a parody about it. And you're going to hear it. Surf-wise today, looking like there's a combination of west-northwesterly swells. Tight interval, pretty solid out there, but again, tough on the paddle outs. Looking at chest, shoulder, head eye waves on average, overhead plus waves at the standout spots. Kind of picking choosy corners here, not a whole lot of straight, clean faces to be found. But the size is there. It's a beautiful morning, winds are offshore, so pretty clean conditions. Once again, though, beach break paddle out's pretty tough. Beach break's kind of broken up. There's going to be plenty of other hotties on stage with me. Yes. And it creeps me out every single time he refers to your behind as the gift. I got a booner. He is your friend. Co-worker. Co-worker. He's a married friend. He's like a work of art. Here's Jay's. Here's Jay's latest work of art. Really? Oh, wow.
What Matt is crazy to ignore. Oh, gosh. She'll lose her mind. It's wedding time. Her butt's sublime. Get it going. Her milk is waiting. Her milk stand brings all the boys to the yard. She is open and free of charge. You can drink it. And her butt is large. She will freak you. If your thing is large. Oh, he faded out. He just came to me. Yeah, I heard that. My favorite parts of his parodies is when he rhymes one word with the exact same word. Large and large. That's where the song is. I know. It's the best. I'm just mimicking the song. I am dancing across the land.
Don't you set foot on my land. I'm freaking on the microphone. Stay away from my microphone. It's my favorite. I liked it. I don't think anything he said was untrue. It's all true statements. It wasn't what I was expecting. No. There was a part of it that got a little hairy, you know, a little bit. Probably not the best word. Yeah, probably not the best word. Oh, yeah. A little sketchy. I'm talking about your bank account. It's large. No, I'm not. Oh, he's about to get his. Oh, he sure has. He's about to get his. He is about to get his. And when we pay back, Jay, we make sure that that payback sticks a little bit. We give him the words, lyrics, which actually makes it even better. It doesn't always help, does it, Mike? No, it doesn't. Now, Woodsy, it's Woodsy's iPod. And usually, Woodsy and I will pick these beforehand. Jay does not know what he's going to get. But he does get the words. Doesn't help. He cannot, we can't hear her.
What he hears. He's got the iPod earbuds in. Woods cranks it up. And we just get to hear what it sounds like when Jay sings acapella to these songs. I love this song. Oh, me too, dude. I look forward to it all week. I think about it the day before, like tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow. All right, you ready? Here we go. It's going to start pretty close, okay? Yeah, we've cued it up. Okay, great. Ready? Here we go. You were working as a waitress in a cocktail bar when I met you. I picked you out, I shook you up, and turned you around. Turned you into someone new. Now five years later on, you've got the world at your feet. Success has been so easy for you. But don't forget, it's me who put you where you are now.
And I can put you back down, too. Dancing. Don't. Oh, boy. Don't you want me. Wow. Really? You know I can't believe it when I hear that you won't see me. Don't. Nope. Don't you want me. Still don't. Still don't. Thank you. Don't you? Oh, man. That's great. That was fantastic. I think I was pretty good on that one. You actually were, Jay. That was great. You were pretty good on that one. Spot on. This one's not going to be as easy for our friend Jay as well. Oh, I can't wait. And this is a pretty cold start. Dang it. You ready? Ready? Here we go. Oh, it's a cat. It's a cat. Oh, wow. Oh, wow. Oh, that's great. Oh, my gosh.
Stay the night and keep it undercover. I just want to use your love tonight. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. The fact that he has the words is great. It's a little loud. I think he got a little loud. Well, yeah, I think it hurts his ears, you know? The bleeding from my ears is an indication. All right, now this is a cold start, and we've saved the best for last. Cold start, right, Woods? Yes. Are you ready, Jay? I guess I am. Here we go. If I should stay, I would only be in your way. But I know. Oh, God. I think of you every step of the way. Oh, my God. Oh, he still wanted. He wanted to give it more. He wanted to give it more. He was loving it. Listen, that was better than the Taiwanese kid. I mean, that was genius. Holy crap, Jay. Holy cow. Oh, my gosh. What's, L.O.B., it's my new favorite. It is fabulous. Hearing him do the... He cannot hear anything but the blaring music in his ears.
And he has no idea what we're all sounding like. Oh, man. I think he's got his mic open there. Whoa, he just tripped over something. Hello. There we go. And, yes, for those of you that did not catch it just moments ago, we world premiered a brand new one from Jay for L.O.B. Her milk stand brings all the boys to the yard. She is open and free of charge. You can drink it. And her butt is large. She will freak you if your thing is large. Her milk stand brings all the boys to the yard. She is open, charged. You can drink it. And her butt is large. She will freak you if your thing is large. He sang this nude. Yeah. She knows you want it. Her milk's so tasty. What Matt is crazy to ignore. Oh, my gosh. She'll lose her mind. It's wedding time. Her butts are blind. Good lyrics. Get it going. Let's see the wedding march. Her milk is waiting. Oh, it was the wedding march. Her milk stand brings all the boys to the yard. She is open and free of charge. You can drink it and her butt is large. I like that. She will freak you if your thing is large. It grows on you. Yeah.
Like mold. Like weed. Fungus. Like my butt. M1 Shannon from Dana Point. Are you there? What were you calling to say? I'm calling to tell you that I freaking love you guys. I cannot tell you. Oh my God, I lived in San Diego for five years. Moved up here with my fiance, now ex-fiance. And I've lived up here for like three years. And I'm like, I live in Dana Point now. For like the last nine months. and I can get you guys up in South Orange County. Oh, yeah. And I'm driving up north, and it's crackling away. And I'm like, bummed out. I'm in love with Jay. I love Jay. That's right. Oh, another one. You're sweet. Another one in love with you, Jay. Imagine that. You should have a dating show. I would go on it. Oh, my. Oh, wow. Wow. Look at that. She's married, man. No, no. She's talking about a dating show just for her. Right. Together with listeners. Because, Mike, I wouldn't dream of it. Listen. As far as you know. Well, hey, Shannon, this is, hey, Shannon, can you hear me? This is Jay. Can you hear me? Can you hear me? I hear you. I hear you, baby. Listen, I like to look, and every once in a while, if I've had enough vodka, I like to touch. Can I touch it through the phone? Yeah, can we try? Well, I'm Russian, so you have to have Russian vodka. Oh, my gosh. I'm Russian to you, girl. Where are you? Say it again. I'm Russian to the Comfort Inn.
Honey, I'm trying to come back down there. I'm trying to get into... Please hurry. Keep coming. Keep going. Come on, girl. Rush into my heart. Please hurry. Rush into my bed. Yeah, that's right. Oh, wow. Well, Shannon, thank you for the call. We appreciate you. Of course. How about that, Jay? She's awfully sweet. Yeah. She's awfully sweet. Oh, boy. My guy. I don't really appreciate you putting calls like that on because it takes away from my real love, my wife. Right. Well, it's 7.50. She's driving my son Jasper to school, and I know she's listening. She's the love of my life. Therefore, I just want to say she is the love of my life. Why? Why? My wife is the love of my life. Also, I paid that woman to call in. That's right. One in five people say they would skip a wedding or a funeral to go to the Super Bowl. One in five. Come on, people. That's a new survey that was just taken. And the Super Bowl is very important to people. Who's the dip-ass that has their Super Bowl or their wedding on Super Bowl Sunday? That's the problem. That's the one I might skip just out of principle. Yeah. Hey, Bradzilla, maybe you switch it up a little bit. Do you think that, well, and also.
15% would miss the birth of their child for a Super Bowl. That's just crazy talk. You can't control that. Well, here's the thing. They wouldn't probably skip it unless it was their favorite team. Now, if it's their favorite team, then you don't have to be there. Right, Woods? Yeah, if it's game seven of Yanks and somebody, I'd have to kick it around a little bit. I had my 31st birthday. Yeah. In December. My dad has reminded me every year that I was born during Monday Night Football. And that he couldn't see it. And that he had to miss the game because I had to come arrive. Yeah. Perfect. When our son Jake was born, he was born the first night of Monday Night Football. It was going to be the Chargers and the Raiders. And, yeah, I was running around the hospital like a madman. trying to get someone to get this TV to get the channel. In the room? Yeah. And we finally did. Really? I had Jakey. I was holding Jakey. Oh, okay. The birth had already happened. The birth had already happened. Okay, okay. The birth had already happened. But that is a pretty crazy stat. 15%. Yeah. Monsters. It's a lot. Our number here is...
570-1949 if you want to give us a call. Writing, there's a few things, email habits that you have that could be sending people the wrong message from Forbes magazine. You might want to keep an eye on this. Don't put urgent or read me now in the subject line. Monster. The reason they say that is because it might seem like you're just letting the person know that you need to hear back from them soon. But to put that is a little bit extreme. Are you guys an urgent or read me now subject liner? Never. I might put please read. Yeah. I might put that. Yeah. No. Yeah, I might do that every now and then if it is, in fact, urgent. No. Well, this deal from Forbes says that if it's that urgent that you're supposed to... Call. Call. Pick up the phone. What if you don't like it? What if you prefer email like myself? Like Michael Sparrow. Don't expect it read urgently. Man. Even if you put an importance thing on there? No, because what might be important to you might not be important to them. It's a true story. That is a true story. You're also not supposed to write in all caps. Yeah. He's screaming at me. That's my dad's bit. Your dad writes in caps? He loves the all caps. I think it saves him from pushing the shift button down when he capitalizes the beginning of his sentences. Yeah. Makes it hard to read. Answering a question that someone else was asked.
You are not supposed to do that, and it's a hard and fast rule, but if your boss sends an email to the entire office and asks a very specific question to one person, don't answer for all of them. Oh, yeah, you're a monster. And it happens. Editing someone's email, someone else's email, before you forward it. Don't ever do that. I've done that. I've done that. You have? Oh, yeah. Intentionally make them look like an idiot. What do you do? Yeah, why? You head forward and then you can, let's say Jay wrote me an email. Right. And it was nasty about you. Yeah. And I was going to send you part of it. Yeah. I would just take out the nasty stuff. Yeah, only I've edited it to protect people. Right. Like protect them from their bad grammar. Or spelling. Oh, no, I've never done that. I let them look like a clown. But I'll take the nasty stuff out. If it's like for a client or something. And you're like, I don't want them to put stuff like that. Like this client's a pain in the A. Like you're a looser. L-O-O-S-E-R. Right. Stuff like that. Which is a big player on Facebook. Makes me insane. Forbes also says.
Emailing someone, then immediately calling them to follow up is a bad thing. Pick one or the other, I would say. Guilty, guilty, guilty. Why? Because if you sent the email, what's the point of the phone call? I don't know. I want you to have it in writing, and then I want you to be able to open it, and then we can discuss it, and you have it in front of you. And I think it's actually a very good bit, and it's very thorough. You should put it in the end. Give me a call when you have this so we can discuss. Woods and I are very similar, and L.O.B., I don't think you do this. When we have something that pops into our head, we need an answer, and we got to have it locked down right at that second. Yeah, not me. Yesterday, my family and I, we're going to be in San Diego Family Magazine. Nice. And so we were doing a photo shoot for them yesterday. And all the kids, the whole bit. And Woods called. And we were like, we were doing this photo shoot. But I thought, ah, I'm going to take the call. And Woods wanted to know, hey, is it cool if a couple of my friends come? They're going to be in town. Is it cool if they come by the station and say hi? I said, yeah. And I thought to myself, there is.
100% chance that I would do the exact same thing. And I have to have an answer right then and there. Yeah, because I was driving home and I had received this message and what I didn't want was that person to think, well, this is ignoring me. He's not writing me back. I wanted to give him the answer. As soon as I got home, I wanted to write him back. And that, if he didn't, he's just like me in that he would be so anxious. Would eat me up. It would drive him crazy. In fact, this is the year of no for Woods, and it's been difficult on him. Yeah. But this is the year of no. Yeah, but it's the year of no. He's having to learn to say no. M1 Nate from Chula Vista, you actually have one of those Super Bowl stories. Yeah. What happened? My sister-in-law and her fiance are getting married next weekend at the destination wedding. Oh, my God. Yeah. Oh, dude. Come on, man. Did they do it and they didn't? realized and then afterwards went, oh, no. But when they were doing it, maybe they didn't realize? Yeah, I don't think they realized, but it kind of sent a few shockwaves through the whole family. Oh, yes. Well, it's what every woman wants at her wedding. A bunch of dudes running around looking for a TV because I've had to do it during the playoffs at engagement parties and stuff. I'm like, come on, man. Come on, man.
If I was getting married, I would ask my wife if we could change it when I found out. Yeah. Maybe the wedding's on a Saturday? Yeah. Their wedding's on Saturday, but like I said, it's a destination wedding, so everybody's in a hotel room. Yeah, everybody would be flying on Sunday. Oh, my gosh. The venue is available. It's perfect. Oh, that would kill me. Monsters. Yeah, it is. There are different types of fresh. There's youthful, and then there's...

I, to my credit, Steve Woods have a hole in one. And Jay. I love that sappy movie. On FM 94.9. All right, we're back. Oh, shoot. Oh, almost. You got until noon, ladies. You got until noon to get in on this pussycat doll dance that L.O.B. is going to be doing at House of Blues February 17th. So if you would like to be a part of it, go to MikeyShow.com and it shouldn't be very hard. Don't be a scaredy cat. Be a pussycat doll. Why do you have a little...
thing of Chinese food or fortune cookies? Why do I have the other fortune cookies? I gave Woods a fortune earlier. What did you do with the fortune I gave? It's right here. You know he ate it. I didn't get the cookie. You thin-donged me. All I got was the fortune. What does the fortune say? It says, this is a good time for you to take a risk. You will succeed. Yes. He likes to collect little fortunes over there, so I gave him one of my fortunes. Yeah, I have another one. It says, remember three months from this date, your lucky star is shining. Yeah. My brother Steve does the bit where you say between the sheets after everything. Oh. You know that bit? The between the sheets, yeah. Yeah. I'm surprised that you know that bit. Why? Because you usually don't know about stuff that people know about. Whoa. Hey, wait, wait, wait. I do, provided that they're not something. That no one's heard, like the one that Woods had. Oh, the one that everybody's heard? Besides you? Yeah, that I'm about to go see a horse with no name. I gotta go see a man about a horse? Everybody knows that. Every human. Look, M1 Ninja in the studio nodding along. Yes. I've never heard I gotta go see a man about a horse. I always say it when I go to the bathroom. Yeah. What does it mean? It just means I've got some business to attend to. I got business. I gotta go see a man about a horse. You don't know about, like, sour grapes?
It's like stuff that you just don't know about. Mikey looked at me when I said it like, you're buying a horse? Yeah. Why do you have a box of fortune cookies? Me? Yes. Oh, because I got them from Payway and I like them and they're delicious. Did you buy them? No, they're free. As many as you want are free? There's no sign that says only take one. Jay, you're one to talk. Yeah. Of course. I go to Rubio's. I go to Rubio's with him. I believe it was last Friday. Yeah, that's where I get my limes. Get all the hot sauce you want. I get my produce. I ordered my meal. And treated myself to Dr. Pepper. And Jay goes, I just need a water glass. Yep. We go over to the deal and he fills his glass up with freaking Minute Maid lemonade. That is not true. You're a thief. That is not true. Yes, it is. It is a lie. What I do is I do water, water, water, water, water, spit of lemonade. Splash is okay. Yeah, splash. Is that a complete lie? No. Yes. It's 100% lie. He drank lemonade with fish tacos. That's not true. I don't like the lemonade. It's too sweet. What is sweet? Sweet.
It's too sweet. And so I just want a splash of lemonade. It's the same thing as if I took a free lemon and squeezed it in there. So why don't you grab a lemon? Because it's just free and it's right there. It isn't free yet. Okay, here's a penny for your splash of lemonade. So, Jay, then you should have no problem with my free fortune cookies, especially since I had you clowns in mine. I got enough for everyone. Oh, I want one. What are those things called? What? Idioms? Yeah, maybe it's an idiom. Idioms, yeah. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink. Can't make him drink? Okay. You can... Know that one? You want a fortune? Yeah. I'm on a diet. Thank you. No fortune? Oh, please. It's just a little bit of... Nah. There's another fortune in here. I'm good. I've been feasting on these all week. I have breasts, so... Yeah, you do. They're nice. A fun vacation to a distant land is soon in your future. Between the sheets. Doesn't always work, does it? Doesn't always work. The other one is in bed. Keep up the good work. You'll be rewarded within the month. Between the sheets. I ain't even a fortune. That's just the way of life. I get rewarded every day. Your troubles will soon cease and good fortune will smile upon you. Between the sheets. Well, that one actually should have gone to my wife.
That's what she calls it every time we make love. She calls it good fortune. Let's see. M1, Mr. Joshua from Spring Valley. Are you there? Yes, sir. Go ahead. A company party last night at Disneyland. And it's kind of like grad night, but without all the kids. And at one point, they have live DJs all over the place. At one point, one of the DJs started playing Uprising. And Woods. Yeah. Woods. You will appreciate this. In the middle of my group, I couldn't help it. I just had to do... News! News! News! And, of course, everybody around me looked like I was crazy. Josh has had way too many drinks. It's one of the Mikey Show things. You know, if you listen to the Mikey Show for any period of time, you're going to hear us for a random reason. It's our program director, Garrett. Garrett. Garrett! Garrett! Garrett! Garrett!
That when we say the word Garrett or the word muse, we have to say... Muse! Muse! Or... Garrett! Garrett! And I know this for a solid gold fact. There is no way in the world that any respectable M1 that's listening ever hears the name Garrett and doesn't in their head go, Garrett! One of my favorite... M1 stories is they were at Costco, and the guy that was checking them out was named Garrett. And he's in line at Costco, and he goes, Garrett! The guy looked at him like he was insane! That is awesome! Garrett! Yeah, Garrett. I can't help it. Anytime that it's even referenced, even if somebody says, oh yeah, he used her as a muse, I'll still in my head go, muse! I bet Garrett. Garrett even thinks. Garrett. Even Garrett thinks. Yeah. When I listen to The Black Keys. Yeah, The Black Keys. The Black Keys. Thank you for the call. It's a great story. We appreciate it. Yeah, it's a great story, Mike. Yeah, hey, Mike. Yeah, you keep running mouth about it. You're out in your ass. Trust me.
M1 school teacher from Penasquitos is on the line. Hang on just a second. First, this person's been holding a long time. M1 Cardiff Coop Run? Yeah, you guys there? Cardiff Coop Run. Hey, good morning. How are you? Good morning. Hey, my name is Bo. M1 Cardiff Coop Run. K-O-O-K-R-U-N. Uh-huh. And the reason I'm calling in is I thought you guys would find it interesting. Woods, you're a local guy from Encinitas. Yes, sir. And we're talking about Super Bowl Sunday. At 8 a.m. this Super Bowl Sunday, we're running the Cardiff kook run for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. It's going to benefit the local Cardiff School District. We have almost 1,000 runners. And I thought you guys would find it interesting that we have the first guy, he's blind. He's going to run his first 10K. Wow. That's pretty awesome. Very awesome. It's totally cool. And, you know, runners can go get signed up at cardiffcookrun.com. And, you know, wanted to get the word out there for you and the M1 Nation. Awesome. And, you know, just thanks for letting me tell my message. Absolutely, dude. Cool.
Glad to have you. Thank you very much for doing what you do. He lost me at run, but I am fully supportive. I will give some dough to it. Some of the movies that are coming out this weekend, Man on a Ledge. Breaking news. The eyes of the city are riveted. 20 stories up, the man on the ledge. Cassidy, let's get coming. You've seen the trailer, right? Yeah, we saw it together when we went and saw Mission Impossible 6. I think it looks pretty good. It looks good. It looks riveting. I think so. Yeah, there's like a hidden thing to it. It looks really good. It'll be your crunching. Can you guys hear that? No, totally not at all. And then One for the Money is coming out. Do you know what this is? No, do you? Yeah, it's Katherine Heigl, apparently. And I stunk. It's about one of the...
My wife reads the books. Stephanie Plum. It's like a whole series of books about this character, Stephanie Plum. So the first movie is coming out about that. Are you going to have to go see it? Probably, yes. And then this actually looks pretty badass to me. It's the new Liam Neeson movie, The Grey. I'm probably only passing through. Wait a minute. Passing through as opposed to what? Living here. Hunting here. Wolves have a territorial range of about 300 miles, and they kill a range of 30. They're stranded on the snow. There's wolves, right? Wolves. And he's got a, like, in the trailer, they show him actually taking the wolves on. Like, he's taking on wild animals. I'd see that. I like that dude. Yeah, I like that dude. If we're close to their den, and if we're within that radius, then they'll come after us. How can we tell if we're close?
Oh, I got to see it. That sounds pretty good. It sounds great. So those are the three big movies that are coming out this weekend. Have you guys seen the previews for that new Ryan Reynolds, Denzel Washington movie? Yeah. Oh, that looks good. It does. Man, that looks strong. It does. Denzel often plays a similar character. Yeah. I like it. I like the character. It's never bad. It's never a bad one. I like the character, so I'm down with it. He's a stud. Tick tock, tick tock. He does that thing. With the deal. With the deal, with the thing. The people. Let's see. You've only got four hours, ladies, to sign up if you want to be a part of the Big Pussycat Dolls L.O.B.'s dance party. It's going to be great. And L.O.B.'s going to be shaking it out there. And you need to shake it with me. Shake it with you. Oh, did you hear about what happened at the Sprouts in Encinitas on Encinitas Boulevard? It's insanity. It is insanity, man. Like one o'clock in the morning. And Wood says there was people in the store. Yeah, employees. There was employees. There was employees in the store. But this dude came and he was trying to pry the door open. Couldn't. So he had a rifle with him. Shot the door. Got in there. Then blasted his way into like the manager's office and then blasted his way into a safe. Yep.
Still at large, by the way. Holy cow. It just makes you wonder if it was someone that used to work there. Yeah, because why would, if you're going to knock off a place, why would you hit Sprouts? Right. How do you know where the safe is? Either that or someone that went to use the bathroom. Look at you, L.O.B., you little detective. Well, that, and there's also that they had knowledge that they would be able to get into said safe with a... You know, by shooting it. But anyway, this is what they said. 20-something dude, a white guy wearing blue pants, a blue flannel jacket, a black beanie cap, and a ski mask. Oh, yeah. Ski mask for protection. Yeah. Of his identity because he knew there'd be people in there because he used to work there. Wow. Look at her. I mean, she might be right, man. Yeah, the guy's running around my neighborhood right now, which is awesome. Yeah. That's really close to my house. The people that were on board the cruise ship, the Costa Concordia, they are going to be suing and they've already been awarded a lump sum of 11,000 euros, which is about $14,000 American. And that's everybody that was on board. Ain't enough. Yeah. So you get $14,000 per person? Yeah. $14,000 per person. Ain't enough.
Why? I wouldn't think you'd get anything. Ain't enough. Yeah, I wouldn't think you'd get anything. It's kind of an assumed risk. Really? Not really. I think it was a captain's malfunction. Yeah, but how does the company, I mean, they're responsible for it. They hired the captain. You know, how do you ever know? Yeah, they hired a person that was negligent. They have the black boxes and they have. I guess there's evidence of him calling the Coast Guard, them telling him to do stuff he didn't do. Ship sinks. I mean, that guy was negligent. The Cowardly Captain, as Mike likes to call him. Cowardly Captain. They said he took the same route the year before, and he must have missed the rocks. Why do you love the Cowardly Captain so much? Why are you sticking up for that guy? Why are you wearing a t-shirt right now that says, I love the Cowardly Captain? Actually, it says, lay off the Cowardly Captain. Lay off. Just put him up. My goodness. No, I'm against him. So, yeah, the compensation is going to be paid to each passenger regardless of age or anything. So, yeah. It's quick. Still looking for 16. They're also trying to find a way, you know, what are they going to do with this thing? Because it's a giant.
Giant ship. I saw a thing how they're going to do it. What are they going to do? It's going to take a year. Oh, my God. It's going to take a year. Basically, it's pretty simple. They're going to patch the holes, pump the water out, and they're going to put chains to shore. There are going to be two chains going to shore, and then there are two chains on the top, and they're going to pull it with tugboats, and it's going to stand up. Really? They've done it before in the English Channel or something like that. It takes a year? It says it's going to take a year to get it all finally where they're going. can do it. I don't know if that was just an estimate or... When you heard that, did they say whether or not they're going to try to salvage this ship? Because it's... Would you ever go on that? No way. I'm never going to cruise anyway. I mean, dude, even if it was like completely repaired and completely... No, would you? No, man. Maybe for like, hey, you're going to get a week's cruise for a dollar. All right. No way. He'll rename it. You'll never know. That's true. He's probably right. It just seems so weird that one guy could cause that much. You'd think there would be more like checks and balances than that. Mm-hmm. Today's kids cannot add without a calculator. They don't know the difference between the word there, meaning they are, and over there. They don't know how to spell it. Yeah, it's not just kids, pal. They also have no idea what an adverb is.
Your old pal Mikey. You know what it is. You know what it is. It ends in LY. Sometimes. Most of the time. You had to tell me. Usually. Usually ends in LY. 33% cannot do division or basic algebra. I cannot do basic algebra. I don't even know what basic algebra is. You do. Yes, you do. You do it. You don't even know that you do it. You do it. You can and you can't. Okay. Can you give me an example? Sure. Okay. Of something that you believe I can do. Very easy. I guarantee you I cannot. X minus three equals seven. What is the X? Oh, really? Yeah. Ten. Yeah. Oh, really? You can do algebra. That's algebra? Yes. What do people use that for? Oh, all kinds of stuff. Yeah. But why would anybody ever put an X instead of, why don't you just say ten? You don't really like, well, in your head you're trying to figure out, like you might be trying to figure out this shirt is 20% off. Right. You're like, all right, well then. That's an old 20% of, let's say it's a $70 shirt. Yeah. And it's 20% off. So you go percent over 100 equals is over of. Whoa. That's an old school way to do it. Well, this may not be very popular with anybody, but if we have calculators, why do we need tested? You're right. Have a spell check. Because it's better for your brain.
It is. But we got calculators. You'll get dumber and dumber and more degenerative. We have a neuroscience master in here. Yeah. She probably does. She probably uses a calculator. Technology can. It's weird because technology can, in fact, make you dumber. It makes you a lot dumber. My sister was saying she is going to school to be a seventh grade English teacher. Yeah. She was saying it boggled her mind the kind of things that the kids were asking her to spell. Like they didn't know. Right. She had them writing papers and without. spell check, they had no idea how to spell things. Really? Yeah. There is not a premium placed on the stuff that it was placed on when we were kids. It's different now. It's weighted. I don't know why, but English to me seems like something they should know. Yeah. But for some reason, math, I'm like, use a calculator. You can't use a device to teach people how to spell. You know, you can't. Yeah, you gotta have basic everything. You can't even figure out how much a tip is without breaking out your cell phone. Right. Ella B, spell the word because 42% of kids cannot spell this word. Spell the word secretaries. S-E-C-R-A-T-A-R-I-E-S. Incorrect. The A is actually an E. Secret Aries. Secret Aries. Always. I, as I've gotten older, I used to be able to spell. Now I can't. Is that a...
Brain thing? Is that... Brain's a muscle. Brain's a muscle. If you don't use it, you lose it. Well, and if you douse it with vodka over a period of years and years and years and years, because I cannot spell like I used to. If you read a lot, too, it'll help. I gotta do that. Certain words, though, everybody messes up. Like secretary and separate, I always... I can teach you a trick with separate. In the word separate, there is a rat in the middle of it. You will never forget it. I read it in a book when I was in fourth grade, and I've never forgotten. Can you teach me how to spell a little thing like that to spell restaurant? Because I cannot spell restaurant. Vacuum, that's a big one. It's two U's. Restaurant, R-E-S-T-A-U-R-A-N-T. I just learned how to do it. Really? Like this year, I learned how to spell restaurant. That's crazy. Yeah, it's, listen. It ain't just kids.

Well, I bought a new car a couple months ago. Well, new used car, 2010. And my insurance went through the roof from like 411 every six months to like over 1,000. I didn't know why. I called. They couldn't tell me. I have an excellent driving record. No accidents. No tickets. And so I immediately called AIS because I actually found my previous insurance through them. And they saved me money then. So I'm like, they'll save me money again. That was it. And they did. They filed me a policy for $522 every six months. So I'm now saving $518 every six months and over $1,000 a year. That is awesome. If you would like to be just like Nightscreen, give AIS a call, 1-800-777-4AIS.

I mean, that's going to be just in and of itself. That's awesome. Let's throw down. Yeah. You want to be that person? That's badass. Yes. B-A. It is. It's badass. Why are you doing that? Because that's Woods' famous line from that creepy interview that he did. Oh. Long time ago. He said it like a creep. Yeah. That is true. That's badass. That's badass. M1 Judy from San Diego, are you there? Yeah. Hi, how are you? Hi. What did you find out about your parents that was weird? When I was in high school, I found out from my mother that we actually have an older sister. It was my dad when he was in Vietnam. Oh, wow. Yeah, she didn't find out he had any wife and a daughter, a three-year-old daughter, mind you, until like...
the night before her wedding. No way. Wait, the night before her wedding? He came clean? He came clean the night before the wedding. Well, not quite. Oh boy. What happened was she said he had taken her for a walk and he dropped his wallet accidentally and stuff fell out of it. Oh no. She found like an old picture of a woman and a baby and she goes, oh, who's this? Because she thought she knew all her family. And he looked really kind of ticked off with himself. And he said, well, I have something to tell you. That when I was in Vietnam, that I had a wife there. But the U.S. wouldn't let me marry her. Because, you know, we were in a war. Wow. And I had a wife and a three-year-old daughter there. That is insane. Wow. Oh, my gosh. Was she mad? Yeah. Was she mad? Yeah, she was kind of ticked off. But when he told the story of it, of what happened. and how he's convinced that they're dead. He's, oh. He said the area. Okay, that got real weird. That got real weird. That got weird. Well, and this is your dad? Yes, my dad. Holy cow. And, I mean, for, you know, anybody that, you know, knows me, my dad is, like, just strict, you know, very religious, like, not really the kind of BS kind of guy. Wow. That's crazy. M1, Randy from La Jolla, you there?
Yeah, I'm here. Go ahead, Randy. Hey, so this is another daddy story, but it's not as crazy as this last one. Yeah. So I'm 16 years old, and I'm with my dad and a bunch of his old friends because one of his old buddies from growing up passed away. And he's introducing me to everybody, you know, at the party and at the memorial. And then he introduces me to this woman, and he says, Hey, Randy, I'd like you to meet my ex-wife. Oh, creepy. And my parents at that time had been happily married for 20 years, never once mentioned that he ever had an ex-wife. And you can only imagine how freaked out I was as a 16-year-old kid. Oh, yeah. Oh, hello. Yeah, hi. How are you? Hi, how are you? It's nice to meet you. How are you? This one is a little bit more lighthearted than that. Mikey, my parents just got themselves a new Mac about a month ago and didn't know there was a back button on the Internet until I showed them yesterday. In other words, when you're on a web page, you hit the back button to go to the page. Oh, no. Wow. They didn't know, hey, look, I can go back. And forth. And forth on the Internet. I was very surprised in my youth to find out that my father was a...
DJ at a disco. What? A DJ at a disco. When I was little, I found these crates of records, and they were all stupid disco records. I'm like, what's the deal? He's like, oh, it's a DJ. He was up there with a spin-in record. It's probably not spin-in, but full-on shirt unbuttoned down to belt. Yeah, full-on. Hairy chest, gold medallion, the whole bit. Yeah, there's stuff. He was a full-on DJ. That's fantastic. At a disco, which I was just shocked. Because he was an uber businessman. Right. Don't say uber. Yeah. You find anything out about your parents? Well, my mom, she always used to say how she didn't drink. She didn't drink. She was a good girl. And then she told me recently about how they used to steal her friend's father's car. They would put it in neutral and roll it out of the driveway and go see my dad. Oh, wow. Because my dad worked about 45 minutes away. And they used to do that. And then she also told me that in the woods, they had one of those like pits. So they dug it out. They put a couch in there. It was like a little hangout. And then they had like... In the woods? In the woods, yeah. And then they had a plywood thing that they... They built a whole... Wait.
They dug a hole deep enough in the woods to put a couch in. Yeah, a couch, like a record. I don't even know if they had an actual. It was behind somebody's house. And so maybe an extension cord. I don't know. She said they used to hang out there. And she's like, the guys would smoke. I wouldn't smoke. Yeah, of course. Wouldn't you? And they covered it up by having plywood and they glued leaves to the plywood. That's outstanding. Yeah. Well done. Very well done. Sounds like something Jay would do. Absolutely. Sounds like something Jay. has in his backyard. He just uses camo netting now. Camo netting. What I hope is that Jay's kids don't have to find things out about Jay. I just tell them. Oh gosh. Can you imagine finding things out about Jay? He probably has a lockbox. Yes. That you would make Larry Flint shudder. Yeah. My parents have the lockbox and you always find it. You always find a way in it. I found stuff. My dad was in Vietnam as well. And like handkerchiefs. With, like, love and then names that I didn't recognize. Oh, wow. Yeah. Did you call him on it? Yeah. Hey, Dad, what's this? But my mom's like, oh, you know him. He had his Vietnamese sweeties while he was over there. Oh, my God. So I could have some half brothers and sisters out there, too. Oh, my gosh. Your mom said that? Yeah. She knows that he was, like, a wild. She's like, he was a pot-smoking, hallucinogenic SOB when I met him.
So we know that he was over there. He was doing some stuff, Lauren. He was whoring around over there, Lauren. Lauren, listen, this is just something you're going to have to come to grips with. I was the good one. Oh, my gosh. That's fantastic. 570-1949 if you found something crazy out about your parents. Found out something crazy about Lauren that I'm going to tell you when we come back, and it has to do with her on the side of the road. Yep. Text them at 949mikey at gmail.com or call Mikey now. If you would like to audition, all you need to do is go to MikeyShow.com right now. And you have until noon today to get in your sign up. And L.O.B., you were calling them out. You were saying, hey, look, I heard from a lot of people. Where are you? Yeah, don't be a scaredy cat. Be a pussy cat. That's my tag line. And here's the deal. I'm not a dancer.
I'm just a sexy time dancer in my house. That's right. Or at the club or whatever I want to be. And this is my chance to finally get out and do something. So this can be your chance too, ladies. There you go. You've got to be better than me. I'm not good. If you want to live out this fantasy, ladies, it could happen. And all you have to do to make it happen is go to MikeyShow.com. You don't have to be a professional dancer or anything like that. You've just got to be able to have some fun. There you go. M1 Shelley is on the line from Rancho San Diego. Are you there? I'm here, Mikey. What did you find out about your parents that was weird? Oh, my gosh. I freaked. I found a copy of the Kama Sutra in their bedroom. Oh, you poor thing. Good reading. Yeah, that would creep me out. There were days when, one, you don't go to mom and dad's room. That was sacred territory. Yeah. And, two, finding that and I'd already been experimenting. I just freaked. No way could my parents do Kama Sutra. Kama Sutra. Oh my gosh, yeah. It may be the most hideous thing ever. M1 Sarah, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. What did you find out? This one is about my boyfriend's father. It's not unlike the Kama Sutra one. So it turns out when his dad was younger, in his 20s, to make some extra cash, he spent three months working in Japan as...
A male stripper. Oh, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow. How? And the little Japanese ladies told him they had never seen a man with so much chest hair. Oh, my gosh. I didn't know where to go with that for a minute. I bet they loved it. That's fantastic. They loved him, but they didn't know where to put the money. They didn't know you were supposed to put it in his G-string. Well, they learned. G-string. They must have learned real quick. Oh. That's fantastic. Banana hammock. Banana hammock. Her boyfriend's dad. Yeah. That's hilarious. It's pretty creepy. You don't let someone live that down. No. Ever. You guys got anything going on this weekend that you would like to promote or any of that? I do. L-O-B. I am going to have what they call a redemption set. A redemption set? Yes, because I was a little turdish last night at Saquon. So I've got four shows this weekend. Two tonight, two tomorrow night at the Comedy Palace. Really? Is that Chris Rock over there? I know. My goodness. I know. Gosh. The girl is working. I know. Well, it's the same group of six people for five shows altogether. Wow. Allison Gill's headlining and she said this is her group of favorite comedians in San Diego. That's awesome. How about that? That's very cool. Yeah.
At the end of the show on Friday, I tell you my story. And hopefully there is somebody that's listening that can glean something from my story. And you hear some of yourself in it. When I was a kid growing up, I was extraordinarily insecure, introvert. You may have grown up as an introvert. But because I was an introvert, it also caused a lot of other issues in my life. caused me to be very internal and to not talk to a lot of people, to in fact be afraid of people. I was a victim of sexual abuse when I was five years old. So by the time I was in my teens, I had a lot to hide. I didn't ever tell anybody about it. In fact, the very first time I think I told anybody about it was during my testimony. I got to a point where...
It was like a missing thumb. You know, if you're missing a thumb, you're able to kind of mask that pretty well by the way that you hold your hand or the way that you put your hand. And I got pretty good at hiding a lot of things about myself. In my late 20s, I would and could get addicted to anything. And I desperately wanted people to like me. For a short period of time, I had an eating disorder where I would make myself throw up. And I did it because I wanted so bad to be liked. My early thirties, completely addicted to alcohol. I was laying in bed one night and I was looking at the ceiling. There was tears streaming down the side of my face. I knew that if I kept living the way that I was living, that I was going to die. And so I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ. He came into my life and he changed me. That's my story into something new. Over the past couple of years, there have been many challenges in my life.
same exact challenges would have happened 10 years ago, I probably would have killed myself. But today I have hope. If hope is something that you're missing, please go to mikeyshow.com and at the top of the page is the word help. And if you click on that, you're going to find resources to a lot of different ways to help you. Addiction, depression, eating disorders, it's all there. I also play a song. at the end of the show on Friday that hopefully gives you some hope. This one's by a band called Red. Larry is up next and we'll come back on Monday and do this all over again. Mikey shows up. Have a great weekend.
One who can save a life living in fear that no one will hear your cry. I'll stand so I'll go.
