The Mikey show returns! The show started off with a bang, all show members save for Mikey and Sienna admitted their nervousness. Mikey wasted no time delving into the break up of his former show and handled it with class. Sienna added her feelings as she was a part of the final days and admitted there were no hard feelings between herself and the old crew at Clear Channel. The show then got underway as Mikey introduced the new cast. Woods was fired up, Lauren was shy and nervous, Jay, apparently had become a robot. Mikey then proceeded to take a bunch of calls and discussed the changing of the P1 name as the lawyers were circling like sharks. This drew much controversy on P1Site. Later, the show discussed whether or not girls should fart. The jury’s still out but most guys prefer to pretend girls don’t have ass gas. All in all, the new Mikey show debuted with great freshness and even had P1Site’s “About Today’s Show” thread go to a record number of pages.

The Mikey Show returned to FM 94.9 with host Mikey reintroducing himself and unveiling a new lineup featuring Sienna, Jay, Lauren, and Woods. The crew spent considerable time debating what to call their listeners—whether to keep the P1 label, adopt M1, or call themselves 'the tribe'—while taking caller input. Throughout the broadcast they shared personal stories, including a shocking first‑date accident, discussions about keeping love letters from exes, a sobriety‑related relationship dilemma, and Sienna’s claim to be a 'boob whisperer.' They also covered recent pop‑culture events such as the Grammys, Simon Cowell’s lawsuit, and sports updates, blending humor with candid conversation.

ABZT San Diego. The Lincoln Financial Media Station. The new home of The Mikey Show. FM 94.9. Tell you how good that feels. Crazy. Can I even tell you how good that feels? We are back and on the radio. And if you want to call us, you can do it. 570-1949 is our number. The Mikey Show is back on the air. And my heart is beating like a little bunny rabbit. That's two of us. Faster than that. Oh, yeah. I think I'm breathing now. Are you all right? Everybody all right? Let's hear it from Jay Bird on the... You got me? I'll get some of that. That's how we're going to hear Jay. That's how we're going to hear Jay. I love it. It's so funny because we're... Listen, this was not necessarily set up for a talk show. The studio was not necessarily set up for a talk show. And so on the fly, we're trying to get it set up for a talk show. So we don't have a way to hear our...
you know, producer, unless we have him coming to a speaker. Next to your ear. Next to my ear. So I'm going to be introducing everybody here in just a second. I'm going to be introducing everybody, the new members of the Mikey Show. And all I can tell you is it is surreal to be back. And I am grateful to be back. And we got to cover some stuff right off the bat. I got to cover some stuff with you. And then we'll get on with it. But here's some of the deals that I want to do. First of all, there are a lot of people listening right now that are longtime listeners of The Mikey Show. And to those people, I want to say thank you for supporting and being here and welcome all of the listeners back. So I want to do that right off the bat and say just thank you for being here. listeners of FM 94.9 that are hearing me for the first time. And so I want to say welcome to you as well. And I want to introduce myself to you and just tell you who I am. Because there's a lot of people that are listening that have never heard the Mikey show before. And I just want you to know who I am. I'm 39 years old. I'm married. I got three kids. I got a three-year-old son named Jake. I got twin boys, Luke and Ryan, that are five months old.
My heart's beating real fast. I'm real excited. You're not alone. Yeah. I grew up in Gilroy, California, which is a small little town that grows garlic in Northern California. Been in radio 22 years. I'm a recovering alcoholic. I love cars and pretty much anything that Apple ever does. I'm the youngest of four boys. And the biggest thing in my life is my faith in God. And I just want to give you kind of a, hey, this is who I am kind of deal. So that's, I want to introduce myself to you in that way. And I'm, like I said, going to introduce the new members of the Mikey Show here in just a second. And again, open phone lines 570-1949. Now, I knew that coming on, the first thing that I had to do was tell you about why I'm here at FM 94.9. and why my old crew is no longer with me. And I knew that that was the first thing I had to do. Now, along with every other obstacle that's been going on this morning, see, here's what I thought. I thought I would wake up this morning, and it would all be a very smooth transition, and I would come in here, and I would do my thing, and it would be real smooth. Well... You really thought that? I did. Yeah, right. Foolishly. I did not at all. No.
I did, foolishly. But, you know, there's been all kinds of obstacles. Now, here's what I knew, though. I knew that I needed to tell you my side of why I'm here and why the old crew is not here. I worked over at Clear Channel San Diego for 14 years. It's a long time. And for the last six years, I did mornings with four other people that I was very, very close to. This is really hard stuff. Absolutely. In December, all of our contracts were set to expire. And before that, earlier, a few months earlier, we had fired our agent. Now, I'm going to tell you that I have in front of me a piece of paper. And on the piece of paper are notes. Because, first of all, I'm scatterbrained.
And second of all, I got one chance to make a first impression and I want to make sure I got all the stuff in front of me to make sure that I'm getting all my thoughts straight. That's another thing about me. I got ADD. Clear Channel made me an offer. And because we didn't have an agent, I went out there shopping the market to see what fair market value for the show was. I want to make it really clear that never in my mind. Was I looking for a deal for myself? Never. It was always for the entire show. Wasn't even a question. The problem is, is that I didn't communicate well with any of them during the process. In fact, I was a complete and total failure when it came to communicating with them. And that failure still messes with me now. I still...
I will still wake up some mornings and that's the first thing on my mind. What really bums me out is that our old agent said to me, this stuff is way over your head, Mikey. You can't do this on your own. And I was like, Bob, it's fine. I should have been more communicative with my old crew than I was. I should have made him a bigger part of everything. And I flat out dropped the ball. And I haven't talked to them. I'm sure that they will hear my words. And to that end, I'm sorry. And I ask for your forgiveness. Now, it's common in this industry to give the company that you work for an opportunity to match a deal.
Clear Channel got the opportunity to match the deal that I got for us at FM 94.9. That included all of us. And a little while after, a couple days after I gave that to them, I was told that not only were they not going to match the deal, but the initial offer that they made to me was being withdrawn. And that all four of the other cast members. had already signed new contracts with Clear Channel without my knowledge. Now, even after all the time that's gone by between that day, December 17th, 2009, even after all of that, I cannot explain to you in words what I felt right at that second, except a pit in my stomach. And it was like an emotional car crash.
And I can tell you that I was in a genuine state of shock. When I got home, I was shaking. Literally, my hands were shaking. I've reached out to two of the people from my old show. I have not heard back from them. There were two other members of the show that I, just out of respect for them and a desire for peace, I'll leave it at that. There's a lot of hurt feelings on both sides. This has been a big radio controversy. And my non-communication and, you know, way that I didn't communicate played a role in jacking it up. Now, that being said, I wish that they would have talked to me directly instead of privately deciding to part ways with me. Because up to that point, I was led to believe that we were all in it.
And that we were either all staying or we were all going. And so I wish that that had been done differently. And they chose to do it that way. And they have reasons for choosing to do it that way. I wish them the best. And I don't want anybody listening to mistreat them or say or write anything to hurt them. Anybody that is familiar with my show. from before knows that I don't like that stuff. I don't like nasty blogs, nasty emails, and I don't want any of them to experience any of that. The truth is that I still love them, and this is like a breakup, man. This is like a breakup, and some days I'm real angry at them, and some days I mourn the loss of
people that I knew for 10 years, because whether or not we grew apart or whether or not we knew each other or whether or not we, whatever, it was still people that I had in my life that I right now in my mind, I'm like, we don't talk anymore. And that's sad. Um, and I have so much appreciation for the people, uh, over there that, that really helped me along the way and supported me. And, uh, That was such a big ton of people. But this is what I got to say moving forward is that I refuse to live in any sort of negativity about this moving forward. For the areas that I'm hurt, I have forgiveness and I got grace and I got compassion. I may not understand it, but that's not my job. Don't know what that was. Could have been my heart.
They just made that noise. Little clue. I want to say that I'm not going to do a thing where I don't talk about it. I'm not going to do a thing where we don't take phone calls about it. But what I will not do is engage in any kind of conversation that's destructive. I don't want any kind of conversation about it that's destructive. I won't talk about... rumors about them or gossip about them or me because i am so against rumor and gossip and uh that's always been my deal on the air in terms of uh what we present on the air i don't do the perez hilton stuff i don't do that because i don't like rumors and i don't like gossip and i've heard rumors about me that are lies flat out lies and uh
And I've heard gossip about me. That's flat out not true. And I'm sure that the same has gone on for them. But what I will tell you with truth is that I have not engaged in that. I haven't engaged in telling lies. And I don't want fights. I want peace. And I just want to put that out there. Now, the light at the end of the tunnel. in all of this for me has been fm 94 9 and the people that are sitting in this room right now with me and in a million years i i'm telling you i never would imagine that i'd be sitting here with these people who are already such a huge part of my life and i already love i mean and that's true um they're so talented and they're so unique and they are so special that
The only thing I can figure from all of it is that this was a blessing that was meant to be from the very beginning. And I'm really excited to introduce to you the new lineup for The Mikey Show. 570-194-9. Ladies and gentlemen, Sienna is on the show. I'll clap for myself. And Sienna was on the air with me when I was at the other station. She filled in for Sky when Sky went on her maternity leave. Yep. From the moment we cracked the microphones and talked together, there was instant chemistry. And it was cool right from the very first day. A lot of fun. A lot of fun. And so Sienna's 24. She's getting married pretty soon. So soon. It's crazy. Like next month. Less than that. Yeah, that's one thing. On the 27th of this month. She got engaged while we were out. I know. Jay.
You may remember from our days at the other station and Jay was the promotion director over there and is now my executive producer. And even though he looks like he's 29 or 30, he's 46. Cannot believe that. It's ridiculous. Ridiculous. He's like, keep going. I like it. The phones are blowing up, man. I'm out of control over here. Are you able to put up? Anything on that call screener? Because I can't see anything on it. I'm working on it. Everybody was just kind of wanting to say hey. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, hey, hey. Tell him hey. He's killing it. Thanks. All right, cool. Absolutely. I'll start patching his phone through. Okay. I want to introduce Lauren O'Brien. Hi. Lauren O'Brien is one of the craziest stories of how we met ever. Nuts. It's really crazy. Yeah. The way that I found Lauren was I was out driving. early one morning and i was thinking of um people that i was trying to pick for the show because i had to come up with a whole new cast i had no plan uh the the the plan that i had was out the window and i just want to say thank you to 94.9 for saying hey we still want you buddy even though you got no crew we still want you no doubt so cool and we trust that you'll put together a cool crew and so i'm out driving and
It occurs to me to come home, go on the computer, and type into YouTube, female comedian, San Diego. And the first person I see is Lauren. Well, hello. Yeah. Well, hello there. And it was her first stand-up ever, right? Yeah, it was terrible. I took it off YouTube. You did? Yeah, I didn't want people to go find it and be like, wow, that's who you picked? Yeah. Well, something good came out of it. Yeah, yeah. Well, check it out. It couldn't be that bad. I'll be really honest with you. When I watched it, I didn't think that it was the greatest delivery. I didn't laugh, but you know. No, no, no. It wasn't exactly funny. I didn't think it was that bad. Well, here's the thing with it. Here's the deal with it. What I saw was, I go, she's so nervous that it's making me nervous. That's what I saw, because it was your first ever stand-up. But what struck me about it, though, instantly, was what she's saying is hysterical. Absolutely. Yeah. The stuff she was saying was hysterical. That was the skinny jeans thing, right? Yeah. I thought it was brilliant. Was it not? No, it was your mom and Facebook. I don't even, the whole thing, it was like 13 minutes long, complete blur, blacked out, don't remember delivering any of it. Yeah. What was more nerve-wracking, this or that?
That, as a matter of fact. No question. Yeah, because this is easy. Yeah. So anyway, so I see her, I see her and I write her a, I don't even know how to use YouTube. I'd like to see you fumbling around on YouTube. How do I contact this girl? Is there a number? Seriously. That's what it was like. Rebecca pulled it up. No, she didn't. Yes, she did. No, it was definitely from you because that's what kind of made me think, oh, let's get this and that. The Mikey that he claims to be. I don't even know how to use YouTube. I've got one video of UFO lights up on my page. And I did. It's a deal. And so I wrote her and I said, hey, can I talk to you? And got you. And we talked and here she is. Lauren's 29. She's our assistant producer. And then we have our boy Steve Woods. Woodsy. Wow. Woodsy. And Woods is 34. And you know Woods because I talked about Woods. If you listen to Mikey's show for any length of time, you know Woods because Woods is somebody that I used to work with back in Dallas. And we would do imitations of Woods all the time and his friend Bauman. And be like, hey, dude, how you doing? It's dead on. Sounds just like you. It's dead on. Yeah.
And it was on New Year's Day. It was a month ago today. I got the call from you. A month ago today? Yeah. Yeah. It's been the longest month of my life, without question. Oh, yeah. The longest month of my life. Yeah. And so I called him on New Year's Day. My wife is looking on Facebook. And I have no idea who I'm going to fill that role with. And I had been talking to a few different people. And my wife goes, what about Steve Woods? Amazing. What about Steve? Amazing. I love you, Rebecca. So happy. Rebecca, I know you're listening. I love you. I owe everything to you and Mike. Thank you. And so as she said that, and I go, like instantly in my head, it was like, well, yeah, of course. So I reached over right when she said it, grabbed the phone, called him. What did I say? You said, Woodsy, we had our little small talk for a while. And then you said, Woodsy, would you be interested in joining the show? And then I said. Dude, in a heartbeat. In a heartbeat. And so one month later, I'm sitting here today. And it's been unbelievable. It's been up and down and up and down. But we are here. So excited. Love to hear from you. 570-1949 is the phone number. Love to hear from you. You can call us. Hopefully there's a lot of listeners that used to listen to us with the old show. And they're still listening to us. And we want to just hear you call in and say hi.
So we'll take some phone calls here in a second. And then I also want to, one big thing that I want to address is the P1 thing. Because there are certain things I did over at the old show that I can't do here. You know, just for legal reasons. Now P1, you can because it's like a generic radio term. And I'm getting the break sign, but we're going to have to hang on. We're going to have to hang on. I'll break here in a second, but I got to talk about this. P1 thing. So the P1 thing is I basically, I love, I want to say P1s. I want to have people be P1s. For sure. But what I don't want, what I know is that my old, the old show that I was on, you know, they're still saying it. Yeah. And so it gives me this, like, I don't want to fight. I don't want to fight about it. I don't want to go.
well, you know, we're coming on and we're going to call our listeners P1s and blah, blah, blah. Like, because I'm just thinking to myself, human nature goes, well, no, you're not. And we are and blah, blah. And I'm like, I don't want to fight. And I woke up the other morning. I had anxiety about it because I just thought to myself, I don't want to, I don't want fighting. I want peace. Like the Mike, and that's the other thing. Like the Mikey show is if the whole idea is it, it's funny. There's nothing funny about fighting. And so, but I want to hear what your thoughts are. 570-1949. I want to hear what people's thoughts are on it. I just don't want any more bad feelings. We've been through, my wife and I, there is our life before this event and after this event. This is a life event. This was crazy, crazy what happened. And, you know, to a certain extent, what is still happening. And so.
Anyway, a couple of phone calls. Garrett, my program director, is the coolest guy in the world. Garrett, is it okay if we're just a little late? Okay, cool, cool. I want to take a couple of phone calls. T-Rex. Hey, what's happening, Mike? How you doing, dude? I'm doing well. It's good to hear you back on the air. Thank you, brother. Kind of waiting for this day. Thank you, dude. How are you? I'm doing well. I'm doing really well. I haven't heard your voice in six weeks. I know. It's been a while. And shocking stories to hear. And I just wish that you guys will keep the communication lines open. And I know it might take a while, but maybe you guys can be friends again. Sorry, a little choked up. Yeah, yeah. And you know what, man? I love you guys. Thank you, bro. And I think that there's going to come a time where maybe we can.
Like I said, I've reached out to a couple of them, and I haven't heard back. And maybe one day they'll feel like they're going to want to talk, but it ain't now. Right. And like I said, man, there's hurt feelings on both sides, but I want to. Yeah, it's a relationship, you know, like a broken relationship. Sometimes it needs time to heal. Yeah. I'm sure it will. Yeah, I think so. I mean, you know, I'm certainly open to it. I just think that right now we're all I want them to be happy. And I and I think that, you know, somebody somebody summed it up in a pretty cool way. You know, we we started out as a very, very hard rock band together when we first started. And because of the changes in my life with my faith, we changed to a much more mainstream, not hard rock pop version of what we were in the beginning.
Yeah, I can see that. And although it was extraordinarily successful, and I mean successful in ways that set records, you know, in terms of ratings, I can understand if they were like, hey, dude, you know, you're the final say, and we don't want to do that anymore. We want to rock. And if that's the deal, hey, man, that's fair. That's fair. And, you know, I would like to head shop on that one. That would be nice. But, hey, you know, it is what it is. One day, man. I hope we can. Yeah. You know, one day I hope we can. Thank you, brother. I appreciate it, T-Rex. Hey, I just want to say God bless you. God bless you, brother. God bless the new crew. And congratulations. You're back on air. Thank you, dude. Thank you. Thank you. And again, I want to know what people think about the P1 concept and, you know, doing the P1 concept and what that should be. You know, I would love to say P1s. At the same time.
I don't want there to be hard feelings with anybody. I don't want there to be a fight over it. I don't want there to be a thing like that. You know, P1Site.com is run by Danny, P1 Danny, and people there want to keep it. And the thing is, is that, you know, P1Site, the old station, they don't want any association with P1Site, which is... Okay, and that's their choice, and they're allowed to do that. And I'm confused. I'll tell you, I'm conflicted. I'm confused. I'm not really sure what to do with it. But I want to hear from you. 570-1053, P1 Giants fan. Hey, Mikey. What's up, dude? Hey, I'm so glad to hear your voice back on the air. Thank you, bro. I'm excited about the new crew. Love you all. Thank you. Thank you. Thanks.
And, yeah, Mikey, I just got to tell you, I'm a Mikey Show P1 for life. Oh, dude. I want to stay that way. Thank you, man. That's awesome. I appreciate it. No problem. God bless, Mikey. God bless you. 570104. I'm going to say that a million times. Over and over. I'm going to say it a million times. I was only at this last station for 14 years, so 5701949. P1 Paparazzi. That's M1 Paparazzi. M1 Paparazzi. What's up, dude? Hey, man, it's good to hear you back on the air. I'm sure you have a lot of anxiety not being on the air for, what, six, eight weeks? Yes, sir. And it's nice to see that you have a whole new crew there. Yes. I had the pleasure of meeting Jay back when he was working at Clear Channel, and the guy's a number one top-notch guy. Thank you. Good guy to work with. Wanted to point out that I've found there's two kinds of people out there. There's the kind of people in your situation that would just sit there and wallow in self-pity, and there's the kind of people who go out and say, you know what? I made a mistake. I'm going to move on. I'm going to make something better. And you're number two right there, man. You came out. You said, you know what? I'm not going to let it get me down. I'm going to keep going. And now you, I mean, six weeks later, it's like unheard of. You have a whole new show, a whole new cab, a whole new everything. Yeah. Yeah, man. That's amazing, dude. I'm stoked about it. And I think people are really going to love, they're going to love this. I think people are really going to love it. And so, you know.
That's all I can say. People are really going to love it. And by the way, there is a brand new MikeyShow.com right now. You can go to MikeyShow.com and it's working. And it is the greatest. And guess what? We have webcams now. You can see us. I'm sorry. Thank you, paparazzi. Terrified. You can see us. You can see us while we work. I mean, that was something that we always wanted to do and now we can. So you can go to MikeyShow.com and you can watch us live. You can see bios, blogs, the whole deal. Brand new help page up there. It's really awesome. So check it out, MikeyShow.com. You can text us. It's 949Mikey at gmail.com. 949Mikey at gmail.com. We're really late, so we have to break. And I just can't even tell you, man. Excited, excited, excited. Feels real good. Feels real good, right? Yeah, it does. Real, real good. So quick time out. And all right, so we can get into a show. We'll take your phone calls and I'll tell you that we got this too. We're going to do Would You Rather. I got some Grammy audio coming up for you. Simon Cowell's getting sued. I can tell you why about all that. And I'm going to be, oh, I got to put this out there too. I worked at 14 years at the other radio station and still didn't know how to run the board. After 14 years, I still barely knew what I was doing.
And so you're going to hear some technical glitches while we're on, that we're working on. What about the array thing, Jay? Do you know how to bring that up? Oh, look at that. Oh, look at that. That's cool. That's a beast. Bumper bed hit one. Okay, cool. Oh, that's a good one. It's the sound. Switch foot. Switch foot. Life is good. 570-1949. The Mikey Show is back on the air. Also checking out the 163 southbound between 6th Avenue, University Avenue. It's in the upper 30s. This report brought to you by Advil PM. Spend less time lying awake with annoying aches and pains. A little more time asleep with Advil PM. I'm Stacey Cohen, FM 94.9. Now back to the Mikey Show on FM 94.9. 570-194-9. It's Mikey's show back on the air. And I am very, very happy to be back on the air. And I was, you know, I'll tell you what, man. I was concerned, too, because I was like, when we first come back, I'm not even going to know what to say. Be all fumbling around for words. Like, um, I just, like, um, I was like, um, I was like, um. I was going to do that the whole time. I didn't even know.
But we're back, and you can call us, 570-1949. It's going to take us a while to get our sea legs, but the cool thing is that we are back, and we would love to talk to you. 570-1949. So, Jay, should I just take any of these? Or no? No, no, no. Okay, cool. We're on it. We're getting it going. I can talk to you about some cool stuff that's happening out in the world, though. The Grammys. When were the Grammys? Last night? Last night. Did anybody watch them here? I saw a little bit. Didn't see a second. No, me neither. You didn't? No, not one. Me either. I saw Pink do some crazy things. What?
She performed, and she was wearing this leotard that had glitter covering her private areas. It was one of those body suits like Britney Spears wore years ago. She's so shocking. I know. And she was doing some Cirque du Soleil type stuff with ropes up in the air, and then the ropes brought her down and dunked her in water. Wow. And, I mean, it was just nuts. That sounds cool. She has a good little body. I'm going to give her that, though. Kings of Leon got Song of the Year. This is them accepting Song of the Year. I'm not going to lie, we're all a little drunk, but we're happy drunk. Love those guys. We have a lot of people we're supposed to thank, but I'm not good at it, so I'm going to let him say, hey, you guys made it up here. Hey, Jakir made it up here. All right. Man, thank you, fans, first of all. Amazing. We have the best friends of the world. Thank you, God. Thank you, family. Jakir and Angelo are wonderful producers. RCA, our great label. Big Hassle and whoever else I forgot, I'll buy you shots afterwards. There you go. I didn't see a second of it. Me neither. Beyonce broke a record. She did? She won six Grammys, which is the most for any female artist for one Grammy. That's crazy! Really? Mm-hmm. Simon Cowell's getting sued. Why is Simon Cowell getting sued? Well, there is a girl, Emma Siskai. Let's see if I can say that right. She's from Britain's Got Talent, and she went and auditioned in front of Simon Cowell like they do on American Idol, and Simon being Simon kind of ripped her apart. Her name is what? Her name is Emma.
C-Z-I-K-I-E. Try to pronounce it. Well, he slammed her during an audition. Apparently, she suffers from a spinal condition, which causes her shoulder and head pain. Therefore, because he criticized the way she sings, she is now suing him because of all of the distress he put her through. And everyone saw it. This is pathetic. Stupid. He said that what you're singing is a beautiful song except when you're singing it. Oh, wow. Yeah. It's not nice. No, but he's not a nice guy. He's a real sweetheart. There's so much stuff that happened while we were off the air. I know. What are you talking? I mean, there's so much to talk about. Super Bowl and like all that stuff, right? Yeah, everything. Everything. And the Chargers and we won't go into that. No. Don't make me cry again. You cried, right, Sienna? Tears, crying. You actually cry. It's just like I've lived here my whole life. That is my team. And just, you know, it's hard every year to be put through this. Yeah, they get close. Did you see any of the Pro Bowl last night, Woodsy? I did, actually. I watched quite a bit of it. How stupid is it? It's pretty bad. It's not in Hawaii. It's really weird to see it somewhere else. It's in Miami, the same city where the Super Bowl is going to be. But, I mean, of course, it was a shootout. You know, AFC won 41 to 34. Yeah.
Vincent Jackson from the Chargers had a huge, huge day. He did? Yeah, he did. But it's just dumb that you can't see any of the people that are playing in the Super Bowl because they won't let them play. They won't let them play, and they wouldn't want to. With that game coming up, you don't want to risk anything. Right. We got people calling in, and they want to talk about the P1 thing. So what should we do about it? Civic, you there? Hey, how you doing, Mikey? Good, dude. What's your thoughts on it? All right, this is my thought. Basically, when the P1 concept was brought in, it was basically, you know, People lowering down the radios, not cussing, getting straight to the point. Right. And, you know, it's such a positive thing that you brought along. You know, and if Cleartown doesn't want anything to do with the P1 site and whatnot, then, you know, it's a positive thing. And there's no reason that P1 shouldn't promote it. You mean, so you're saying we should keep the P1 thing? I think you should keep the P1 thing because the P1 thing is just a positive thing. You know, people when you hear people say the P1 thing, you know, it's just a respectful thing. You know, it's just getting straight to the point, not cussing. And learning on the radio and, you know, giving their thoughts and views to you. And it's just a positive thing. Now, walk me through the process of I don't want to fight. I don't want them to get.
like, turn it into a war, like, we got P1s. Well, no, because, I mean, I don't know if you were listening to their show after everything happened, Mike, but basically Sky and them came on, and everybody was saying, you know what, hey, you guys might use it, you guys might not, but there's nothing wrong with either of you guys using the P1 concept, because basically it's such a good thing. It's not, it wasn't designed for, like, a specific show, it's designed as, you know, overall saying what people do. You know, P1s are these people that are disrespectful to the radio and do this. So, you know, there's no conflict and whatnot. That's cool. Yeah. Yeah, it works for us. That works for me. Some people are saying the whole M1 thing. Now, what do you think about that? M1 works, too. I mean, M1 would be specifically for the Mikey show. Yeah. P1 was just, you know, I guess, you know, person one. You know, but the Mikey one, that works also. Because that just would show people that are really dedicated to the Mikey show. Because I'm not going to lie. I was having, like, withdrawals for, like, the last month. Oh, dude, that's sweet of you. Mike, you have the greatest fans. They're rabid, and it's been so exciting for us to just watch that grow. It's been amazing. Amazing. Yeah, and if you go to MikeyShow.com, you can add Lauren and Woodsy and Jay and Sienna to your Facebook. And Twitter. Don't forget about the Twitter. And the Twitter, too. Yep, Twitter.
You can find us all on Twitter. I'm Mikey Show Mikey. There's Mikey Show Woods. Mikey Show Lauren. Mikey Show Sienna. Mikey Show Jay. You can follow us on Twitter. You're drinking that stuff. Yes, I am. Kombucha. I was walking behind her last week. She goes, Mike, smell this. And I go, are you dying Easter eggs? That's a sign that maybe you shouldn't be drinking it. So bad. So gross. So deliciously healthy. It's like an organic energy drink, right, with vitamins? It is. I didn't know exactly what it was. I knew it was fermented, and it tastes a little bit like apple cider vinegar. It's got leaves and grass and stuff floating in it. It looks repulsive. They're actually mushrooms. There's mushrooms in there. Perfect. That's what that is. Yes, I just looked it up on Wikipedia. Where do you find that? At a veterinarian shop? No. At all health food markets, such as Henry's Market, Seaside Market, Whole Foods, Jimbo's. Talk to me about the reason for drinking that. It's not proven to, but the guy that invented it or that's using it said that he helped cure his mother's cancer with this stuff. Sure he did. It's really high in antioxidants.
active digestive cultures in here, which is good. Way too healthy sounding for me. For me to drink that, it would have to be proven. Yeah. Okay, because it's... The one she's drinking is called Synergy. Yep. Yeah. Which is what we have. Oh, yes. That's right. Nice. I'm rejuvenating as we speak. What's this? And the stuff floating on the bottom is mushrooms? It's mushrooms. Can you believe that? It's floating on the bottom of a drink. Can't you just... The digestion thing is funny to me because I go, well, can't you just poop? Yeah, just poop. Well, maybe some people can't. That's the problem. I'm not referring to myself, but there are people. No, it's stinky. 570-1949 is our phone number. Let's see. I'm having such a hard time figuring out how to do this. It's way different. That makes four of us. Five of us. Hey, I'm on the air. What's up, dude? Dude, I could not be more excited about this moment right now. Yeah. What's going on? When that opening song came on this morning, for the first time in my life, I was doing the air drums. Nice. Nice. I couldn't have been more excited. Man. So, you know, dude, the P1 thing? Yeah. We could settle this thing over an arm wrestling match. If you don't know, P1 Harold is also a professional arm wrestler. He's been on ESPN. Wow. Really? The Rattlesnake. He's for real. He's for real.
Harold, are you an over-the-top fan? Yeah, of course. Such a huge movie. Of course. I love it. I love it. Yeah. Well, listen, man. I mean, like I said, I just don't want there to be hard feelings. But if the deal is that their take is, you know, hey, anybody can use it. And if you want to use it, hey, I feel the same way. That makes me feel good. Yeah. Jay said that a guy called in but was too afraid to come on the air. If there's too much of an issue and it's going to be a big arguing match, why don't we just call ourselves the tribe? Dude, the tribe. I like it. The tribe? I think the T1 Herald. T1 Herald. T1. I like the tribe. I'm down. That has a nice little ring to it. Have people, basically, I just want people to call in and tell me what they think of all this stuff.
If you like the tribe, if you like... I like T1. M1, if you like T1, if you like whatever you... Call us. Dude, you can have a poll and just have people vote on it. I like it. Why not? It's a good idea, but on the website, fantastic. Let the people speak. I couldn't be more excited. I love you guys. I'm excited about this. Thank you, brother. Hey, welcome, guys, to the Mikey Show. Thanks so much, man. It's so good to be here. Thank you very much, bro. I'm here to stay. All right, dude. Thanks, brother. We'll see you. Let's see. Leonidas. What's up? San Diego morning show. How are you, brother? Dude, it's so good to have you back, man. I could not contain myself. I love it. That's so cool, dude. That's so cool. There's legends all on the radio. Mikey, you're a legend itself. You know, God bless you, dude. You know, one door closes, another one opens. That's right. The beginning of something great. You got the sultry sounds of Sienna back on the radio. Wow. I love it. You got Woods. That guy's a legend. Don't spit on the microphone, Woodsy. No doubt, brother. That's right. It's cool. I had to go buy myself a new armband radio batteries. I couldn't wait till Monday morning. Dude, that is so cool. Makes me so excited to hear. We are glad to be back. What is your thoughts on the P1 thing? You know what? The P1 thing is something you can't figure out one day. If anything, I'd say pray about it, buddy. But you know what? If it's something you want to keep with, I'm right there with you.
The Tribe sounds good. You know, you can get that word out via Facebook and Twitter and even your outgoing voicemail now. So whatever works. Yeah. I'm down with that. Tribe 1. T1 sounds pretty cool. I'll roll with it. I'll throw that on the Twitter and Facebook, and I'll follow you guys as of today. Thank you very much, brother. That's huge. Thank you. You're a good man. I can't wait. Dude, this is the start of something good in San Diego. I love it already. It's good to have you guys back on the air. Thanks so much. Thank you so much. And for the new people, you're in good hands. And can't wait to meet you all and see you all. And this is going to be great. I love you guys. No doubt, man. Thank you. Thank you. Thanks, dude. We'll see you. All right. 570-1949 is our number. And if you want to text us, you can do that. 949mikey at gmail.com. We've made that very easy for you. So you can do that as soon as you would like. Let's see. What else have I got to tell you about? Oh, have you heard about this Haiti thing? Haiti is detaining Americans for taking kids across the border. What does that even mean? Wow.
All over the place. Ten Americans were detained by the Haitian police on Saturday. They tried to bring across 33 children to the Dominican Republic, and apparently they didn't have proper documents. So they've been arrested. They're being held. They're from a Baptist church from Idaho. So basically, I mean, these kids, they were just, what they're saying is they were trying to help the kids. They want to bring them across to the Dominican Republic. They're going to build an orphanage, and they wanted to just try to help the kids. Really? But the Haitian police are not having that. They were like, without these documents, you know, you can't. can't just bring these random kids maybe they haven't found their parents maybe their parents are alive like you can't just do that so it's a big issue right now uh we got a lot of people calling man a lot of people calling uh p1 mark is new to the show and wants to come on mark are you there hello hi is this mark no this is mike mike p1 bible study oh right on what's up dude welcome back mikey thank you brother God bless you. Hey, man, it's great to have you back, dude. Thank you, dude. I appreciate that. Yeah, that's all I wanted to say, man. And I'm up with the T1 thing. I never did a P1 name, but hey, I'm T1 Bible study. It's huge. So are you saying T or P? I'm saying T. T as in tribe. Yeah, I like tribe. You like tribe? Yeah. It's the tribe. Yeah, the tribe.
Mikey Show listeners are the tribe. You just immediately reminded me of the Miley Cyrus song, It's the Climb. Yeah. I'm sorry. It's the tribe. I like it. Totally blew it right there, didn't I? People are really going to be upset when they realize how lame I am and that I like Miley Cyrus. Who doesn't? I don't. What's wrong with you? I don't at all. Good Lord. She has one song I like, and I think it's the only one I know. The Party in the USA. Oh, my God. So catchy. It's so catchy. Here's what you have to understand about Woods and... And Jay. And Lauren. Musical snobs. Yes. It's called having good taste. I cannot keep up. It's called having good taste in music. But if you have, can't you like everything? Can't you like a little bit of everything? No, you can't. I like a little bit of everything if it's good. Yeah. What about the Miley Cyrus? That one song, I just gave her credit for it. Party in the USA? Yes. Oh, my God. My kryptonite. Like, right now, everyone just picked up their step. You hate this, right? It's my kryptonite. Is it really? Yeah, I'm getting weak. I believe. Look at him. Sorry. He's just sinking in my chair. Slinking in the chair. He's so dramatic. I believe that you. Yeah, that's true. This is what I believe about everybody. I believe, Woodsy, that you like it and that you will not admit that you like it. Definitely. I hate it. Trust me. I'll admit. I like some really weird stuff.
and even maybe some girly stuff, but no Miley Cyrus. No Jonas Brothers. There's going to be a song that comes out, and I'm going to go in your iPod, and it's going to be there. 0% chance that happens. What about Taylor Swift? You love her? I think she's really cute, but, you know, whatever. Sure. She's pretty good. She was on the best dress list of the Grammys last night, and I need to beg to differ on that one. I need to see a picture of that. I'm going to need to see that as well. It's a blue sparkly dress. Jay and I would like to see that as well. Right, Jay? I'm going to try this. I'm going to try this. T1. See, when we say it, people are going to think we're saying T1. I know. T1 Mark. Yes, good morning. You guys there? What's up, dude? Good morning. I'm a long-time 94.9 listener, and I haven't heard you guys before, so I wondered if you could explain this concept. I have no idea what you mean when you say T1. I know. Good question. Great question, man. There's a BMW called an M3. Yes. There's one called an M5, too. That's right, dude. Okay. That's right, dude. No, let me explain. So we used to call our listeners P1s, and a P1 turns our radio down, gets to the point, and doesn't cuss, okay? And what we were just suggested is that we refer to Mikey Show listeners as the tribe. Lauren was just drinking some of that vinegar. Yeah. Which is okay. You can drink it. I'm just saying. Makes all of us gag. Smells amazing. Smells like she's dying eggs.
I didn't know that had a smell. Yeah, it's got vinegar, and then you put the little pause. Is it called pause? P-A-S, yeah, pause. Pause, P-A-S. And the little wire thing that would hold the egg that would never work? Never. It would fall over. And it's like a bright red color. It just doesn't look right. Is there a bigger beating than dying Easter eggs ever? What gets me is the mushrooms floating at the bottom of it. It's foul. It's gross. But anyway, Mark, that's what P1 means. What's it stand for, Mike? Preference 1? Priority. Priority 1? Preset. Sounds great. Now we know. Welcome aboard, buddy. Thanks, brother. Thank you. I like that. He's a nice person. Yes, I'm just getting to know everything. How everything works. I'm not a surf. Huge man. You just got so excited at the song. I know. They can all see me air drumming on the camera. I keep forgetting it's here. Hey, Woodsy's going to do some sports for us next. Yes, sir. Miss America crowned you on Saturday. I'll tell you about that and that crazy.
The security for the Super Bowl is tripping people out. We'll tell you about that next. The Mikey Show on FM 94.9. Why limit the pleasure of dreaming to those times when our eyes are shut? They hate T1. All right, that's cool. I don't have to lie. I'm open to anything. You know how when it's 2 o'clock in the morning and you're driving back from a concert and people go, well, what do you want, Taco Bell or Jack in the Box? Somebody goes, I don't care. That's me right now. Yeah. Whatever you want. Yeah. You want T1? Okay, but they don't like T1. They're saying, and I'm getting a lot of M1. I'm getting a lot of people are down with M1. This dude says, I vote M1 militia. I like that. Oh, that's cool. It doesn't rhyme. You know, it's hard to tell T and P apart. Yeah. That's true. M is very, like, recognizable. Yeah. The M1s. Hey, listen. That's not bad. I like it. You know, we'll just wait. I guess over the next few days, we'll just kind of play it out and see where people are with it and what people want to do. P1 Jason, are you there? And we'll say, for the time being, why don't we say M1 Jason? Hey, Mikey. How are you, man? I just want to say welcome back, buddy. Thank you, dude. I appreciate it. So about the P1, I mean, you started the P1 thing. I think it should stay and just keep it like that forever. And it's called P1 Sight. I think that's what it should be. So your vote, that we keep it the same? Yeah. Yeah, and I think that we should put up like a voting thing of what people want to do. See, here's the thing, though, man. Do you understand what I'm saying about the...
I don't want it to turn ugly. I hear you. I just don't want ugliness. I want peace. I want good times. You know what I mean? Yeah, and I support all of you, even the old crew, and I love you guys, and I love your new crew, and I just want peace too, man. Yeah. Awesome. You know what I mean? Super duper! That's nice! That's what all I'm saying. That's so nice. That's all I'm saying. 570-1949 if you want to weigh in on that and love to talk to new listeners that are tuning in for the first time and hearing us for the first time. But the Mikey Show is back. Woodsy, what's going on in sports? What's up, my brother? I know what a big golfer you are, so I wanted to lead off with that, obviously. The Farmer's Insurance Invitational is here this week. Golf is my kryptonite. I would love to see you play around. I would love to see you play around. He's the real chubby golfer. Yeah. The real big one. It'd be amazing. Watch you be like the best golfer there ever has. I know. What does that have to do with it? John Daly. That's the bigger guy. That's like my identical twin, too. No, it's not. Yeah, yeah. On and off the course. But no, Ben Crane is your winner. Oh, good. It was Ben Crane. It was Ben Crane. Oh, good. I knew you were worried about it, man.
Funniest thing about that, though, Mike, is he didn't even know he won. He didn't? No. He made the putt. He looked at his playing partner and he goes, did I win? Really? Yeah. He said he wasn't going to look at the scoreboard all day. Look at the cover of the UT. You see his face. Yeah. He's just like, I did? It was incredible. So not a bad day's work or a bad four days' work. $954,000 payday. Oh, my gosh. Isn't that great for four days? I'm playing golf. They changed the name of it because it was the Buick Invitational forever, and now it's what? The Farmer's Insurance. Farmer's Insurance. They paid like $10, Farmer's Insurance. Like $10. Solid payday. That's a nice payday, bro. That's no doubt, man. No doubt. What else? Roger Federer is the greatest tennis player of all time. And he yesterday won the Australian Open. Just an absolutely dominant performance over Andy Murray from Britain. But he is one. Let's see. He was playing in his 22nd Grand Slam final and 18th of the last 19 events. The guy is an absolute beast. How old is he? I've got a clip. I've got a clip for you of him talking about.
Then, of course, I'm over the moon. I'm winning this again. I think I played some of my best tennis again in my life these last two weeks. So this is a special moment. Sharing this again with you guys. You get the best out of me, really. So thank you. What a nice person. We should bring back the phrase over the moon. I was just thinking with his voice, he sounds so nice. He does sound nice. I'll start saying over the moon. I'm over the moon this morning. I really am. What else is going on? Well, obviously it's Super Bowl week. Do you guys want my prediction? Yes. Okay, well, I've actually got to cut 6-1-1-5-3. What's your assessment of this game? No, no, no. Wrong one. This one? Yeah. That's who I'm taking. I'm taking the Saints. Who do you guys like? Saints. Saints? No, Manning. Okay, all four of us for the Saints. I think so. So the Colts found out that Dwight Freeney is probably going to be out, and he is their beast of a pass rusher.
Dude, I think without him, Drew Brees is probably going to end up lighting him up. You think so? I think so, man. I do. I think so. It scared me yesterday because I saw a second of the Pro Bowl and they said that on the plane ride over, Peyton Manning was watching film. Of course. He's like an idiot savant. Exactly. Which makes me think that he's going to, you know. He is incredible. But I just like the Saints' chances, man. They've never won one. So I think it's, you know, all the cards are stacked in their favor right now. A lot of people will be pulling for him. Peyton's got one, so we'll see what happens. But I know I'll be rooting for him. Yeah, me too. For sure. What else? Is that it? Well, I mean, I got more if you want it, man. You're an MMA guy, aren't you? I love it. Okay. Did you hear who was fighting and won his debut fight? No. Do you remember Herschel Walker? He used to play in the NFL. For real? He won. Yeah, he knocked out Greg Nagy. Actually, he was stopped by the ref. in the third round. But he is... The guy's always been in tip-top shape. He did like 1,000 sit-ups, 1,000 push-ups. He is 47-year-old. He's 7,000 years old. Yeah. Really? But the guy's just an absolute specimen. That's crazy. He went in and he won. And he's a black belt in taekwondo. So, I mean, he's a really talented dude. That's nuts. Yep. Okay. So, here's some other stuff going on for you. And bear with me as I try to figure out how to use...
The machines. I don't know how to use any. I barely knew how to use the machines where we came from. This is all different from the old building. I mean, 100% different stuff. All of it. Miss America was Saturday night. And here's what happened. Okay, here we go. Ladies and gentlemen. Instantly, I know. That's Mario Lopez, right? Yes, I know. Really? Yeah. One of my best friends is his twin. AC Spader? Yeah, it's AC. He's his twin. He's from Chula Vista, too. Miss America 2010 is Miss Virginia Caressa Cameron. Oh, my gosh. What was that last name? Caressa Cameron. This is what I know about pageants, about Miss America and Miss USA. Miss America is real brainy. Miss USA is more like talented. I mean, no, no, no. Yeah, yeah. Attractive? Yeah, that's a great way to put it, Woodsy. Call him like I see him, dude. Yeah. Do you understand? Can you read between those lines? Miss America, Carissa, was a broadcast journalism student at Virginia Commonwealth University. VCU. Yeah. She said that her only talent before the competition was singing. And now, yeah, she's Miss America. I think you may be on to something, Mike. Well, I had a friend that was in the pageant system. And that's how it worked. And when I won...
Mr. America. That was the deal. It was because of my brains, not my looks. Do you know that they get paid to win? Do you know that? Oh, yeah. 50 grand. Are you serious? Yeah. Really? Mm-hmm. 50 grand. And then they get flown all around the world for a year to do all this charity work and lovely things like that. They get endorsement deals and stuff. Oh, yeah. That's pretty cool. 570-1949. P1. Whoopi is on the line. Whoopi, are you there? Michael. Oh, my goodness. I'm here, dear. It's like a warm cup of coffee hearing your voice. Well, I'm so glad. And just a couple of things. We're going to start this off in a manner which I didn't think I was going to have to address you with today. All right. You're going a little crazy with this naming thing, Michael. Yes. Let me just explain to your new cast members. I know you call him Mikey. He's Michael to me when he works my last good nerve. That is true. So we're going to put that out right like that. That is true. I'm going to explain it to you this way. The breakup with the old show was kind of like a divorce. And you never change the name of the kid just because dad's got a new girlfriend. So we are going to be P1s. That's what we were when we started this whole process. That's what the definition of the thing is. There's no fighting. Yeah. We're fine. We're okay. You're going to be fine with us as P1s.
So anybody else using that moniker, that's, you know, we are what we are. We're not splitting the family. That's a pretty solid argument. She's convincing me. That was good. I'm sold. And I'm sorry. You're going to listen to paparazzi? Really? You're going to take any suggestion that comes out of that pool? Hey, listen. Here's the deal. I'm open to whatever right now. Okay, well, here's what you're open to. We're P1. All right. It doesn't sound like it's up for debate. Nope. I guess not. Now, paparazzi, the reason that we call him P1 paparazzi. Because he's a stalker? Well, the thing is, the very first time we ever did an appearance, he showed up with a camera. And he took some pictures. Now, there's an amount of pictures I think that you can take that's well within the, okay, that makes sense. But I think that if you continue and it doesn't, maybe it doesn't stop or whatever. For like a whole two-hour appearance? Yeah, or two-and-a-half or three-hour appearance. And you're like, oh, dude, I'm getting a little... Kind of creeped out. And then he finally stops. You're like, oh, okay, cool. Reloads. Uh-oh, more pictures, huh? There's Mike drinking his Diet Coke. Yeah, look at that. So delicious. Well, I think the...
I'm just so glad that you're back on the air. And I know you guys are going to do great. And it's going to be damn freaking fantastic. There's no need to change our name, really. Just P1. That's awesome. It's going to be okay. And we love you. And, you know, at 6.57, it's a little too early to work my nerves. Thank you very much. I like your style, Whoopi. That's right. Hugs to you, honey. And I'll talk to you soon. You're the best. I love you. Love you. It's P1 Whoopi. She is an African-American gorgeous woman. Nubian princess. She's a Nubian princess, and she has something in common with Sienna. What is that? What is that? You know what it is. Two yeses. She's gorgeous. She's a great way to put it. You're gorgeous. Well-endowed. Oh, really? Is that how you want to say it? I don't know. We get it. Your boobs are huge. I just don't know. That's right. What, Jay?
I said, boom. Okay. The Mikey shows back on the air. That makes me happy. We'd love to hear from you. 5701-949. You can text us to 949mikey at gmail.com. Spring Valley area, Kenwood Drive westbound ramp to the 94, an overturned vehicle. It's an SUV that went off the road into a ditch on its roof, and the ambulance fire trucks are on the scene. They have shut down that ramp so they could get rid of the car. On the 5 southbound, Old Town Avenue, that road's cleared now. They've moved that accident to the center divider, and it looks like Coronado Bridge westbound between the 5 and Toll Plaza. It's slow about the mid-30s right now. We're going to do a new feature with Woodsy called Dude, You're Dumb. I can't wait. Dude, you're dumb. Dude, you're dumb. Dude, you're dumb.
Boy, I got a good one, too. So we'll do that. So what's going on with the Super Bowl security? Like, what's the deal with this? Well, it's the Super Bowl. They're stepping it up a notch, of course. There's going to be Air Force F-16s patrolling the sky all around Miami. Yeah, they're not going to like, they're making sure no one gets at least 100 yards from the stadium if they don't have the proper credentials. That's awesome. Uh-huh. They're going to have 100 magnometers. Now, I don't know what a magnometer is. But I think it's like a metal detecting device or something like that. It's a very large condom.
Easy. Bomb sniffing dogs, devices to detect chemical or biological threats. I mean, all kinds of stuff. They say the FBI is saying the biggest problem they have is with the lone wolf, which is like one guy who isn't talking to anyone who has a plan, you know, to do something. Right. So they're searching everyone. Everyone's going to be patted down walking into the Super Bowl. I went to the Super Bowl. I went to the Super Bowl right after 9-11, the one where YouTube performed and they put all the scrolled, all the names and all that stuff. And we went through metal detector. and the whole thing. It took a long time to get into the actual stadium, and it sounds like they're doing all that over again. Went to the Rose Bowl. It was awful. It took forever. Really? Yeah, I can't imagine the Super Bowl is going to be crazy. They're going to do flyovers with stuff. It's crazy. Let's see. 570-1949 is the number, and if you want to text us, 949Mikey at gmail.com. If you go to Mikeyshow.com, you can actually watch us online for the first time ever. Mine's not working, though, so I apologize. Our Internet deal is we're working on getting our Internet, you know, consistent. Yes. And we're trying to get Woodsy going, but, you know, it's taking a little time. And one of the big topics up for discussion this morning is, well, what are we going to call ourselves? Are we P1s? Are we M1s? What are we? And it's totally up to you. People can call in about it, 570-1949.
and tell me what you want to be. P1, or he's referring to himself as M1 Tony. What's going on? M1 Tony, are you there? Tony. He's not. Hey, Tony. This one says, Mikey, this text message says, Mikey, stoked to have you back. Can't wait to hear what's in store for us. And he's referring to himself as P1 Haven. This is going to take a little while to figure it out, what people want to be called, what they want to call themselves. It's up to you. So listen to this email. I'm afraid to. Yeah. While we were out at Mikey show dot com, people were able to email us, which is great because we had a little thing set up to email. I was still getting stuff. I was still talking to people through that Facebook and the whole deal. Even while we were gone, it was like it was still broadcasting. All right. So this email says, Mikey, I'm pretty sure I have the worst first date story out there. Should be good. This is something else. I went out for a long dinner to an Indian restaurant in Hillcrest with this guy. We'll call him Mark. I couldn't believe how much Mark and I were hitting it off on the first date. So when he asked me to come back to his house to watch a movie, I jumped at the chance. Halfway through the car ride, I started to have some serious stomach cramping. Oh, boy. But was just trying to ignore it.
We got back to his house, and I wanted to make a beeline for the bathroom, but kept thinking, it's the first date. It's too early to tell him. It could be the 500th date, and it's still too early. Yes, it is. Oh, please. I just want you to know that eight years into marriage, I don't need to know. Yeah, 100%. Yes, you do. Don't. So she says, it's the first date. It's too early to tell him I have stomach issues. He started to playfully tickle me on the couch. Oh, gosh. I don't want to know. I don't want to know. I was laughing nervously and trying to stop him. Now, I can't say what happened next, but I just want to let you know. Just imagine the worst possible thing that could happen when you have stomach issues and somebody's tickling you. Oh, gosh. And she says that this happened all over his white cushion. No way. Oh, it's worse. It happened all over. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. No, no, no, no, no, no. And so, she says, we looked at each other, each of us more shocked than the other. Suddenly, I burst into tears. She burst, all right. Oh, poor girl. In an instant, he left the room and came back with towels and garbage bags. Oh, my God.
This is real life. I would have said I was going to go get towels and garbage bags and then got in my car and just left. I just sort of left. But they said it was. I'll be right back. I promise. And then out. Even if it's your own house, you never return. I'll never come back. I just move. You call the landlord and go, listen, I'll send you last month's rent, but I'm done. Wow. I'm out. You can keep the couch. Yeah, keep that couch. She says, he kept trying to console me, and I just kept crying harder and harder. This may be the nicest man on the planet. Yeah. He was consoling her after. He just kept trying to console me, and I kept crying harder and harder as he shuffled me into the backyard. Shuffle. Yeah. Just shuffle your feet, Benny Hanna. Just get out of the house, please. Just get out of the house. Shuffle, shuffle, shuffle. Before I knew it, he was hosing me off. No way. True story. Hosing? Hosing me off, then the cushion, then me again. All the while telling me, quote, it's okay. It could happen to anyone. Men will literally do anything. That's disgusting. I mean, they literally will. We have no shame. You don't want to go explore that region after that. No way. What would she go home in? A bag? Apparently a garbage bag. A garbage bag.
Cut out a little hole. That is a walk of shame. That's like the real walk of shame. I know. Just holding soiled clothes in your hand the whole time. Oh, my gosh. He ran inside to get me some clothes to change into. When he came back, he said, you know, you're really cute when you cry. Wow. Creepy. This guy. Totally creepy. What if he's like into it? Sorry. You're really cute when you crawl soiled like that. Covered in poo. Just unbelievable. I didn't say anything, and soon after, he was driving me home. When I went to get out of the car, he said, seriously, don't worry about the cushion. I'll tell my mom I spilled coffee on it and just get it professionally cleaned. Kombucha coffee. She says, what? That was his mom's house. Wow. This is so much more. There's just so many places that you could start with this story. I just don't even know where to go. He says, I cried myself to sleep that night and thought, That could have been the one, and I just did what I did on his mother's white sofa. But to my surprise, he called me the next day. Needless to say, three years later, Mark and I are still dating. No. We're able to laugh about it now, but I've made him swear to never tell anybody, especially his mom. No. Wow. I am absolutely disgusted. I was starving before this break. I'm just not hungry anymore. I don't know why. I might not eat this week. Oddly, I want some Tootsie Rolls.
That was cruel. That is oddly. That is really odd. It's the weirdest thing. It's so strange. 5701949. Do you have a weird date story? It won't top that one. No, that's the worst. One of my friends went on a first date and she said after the date they went to the grocery store to get some snacks and that they were playing around and running down the aisle and she passed. Yes. Who did? That's awful. And he heard it. But they were together for a long time. If it was an accident, I would look past that. No. I would not look past a purposeful one. But you would look past an accident. Yeah. Even though you guys don't talk about that. We do not. I can't believe that. I've never heard my wife do that. That's what I wanted to say. I didn't know that I was up for discussion. I've never heard my wife do that. Unbelievable. She's never heard me do it on purpose. I don't do it on purpose. You're a good husband. Thank you. Absolutely. I mean, that's rare. Yeah. Do you, Sienna, in front of you? Oh, no. There was one time it was a mistake. That was it. I was sleeping, and he told me. Anyway, anyway, anyway.
Anyway. No, I don't. Moving on. We live together. There are times where there just happens. I gotta go, dude. I gotta go. I'm done. I'm out. That's bad. It's not bad. It was a mistake. Sorry. I'm sleeping. It was an accident, honey. Didn't you wake yourself up? I did. Yeah. Boy. Good one. I would have had my bags packed. Okay. No. Oh, my gosh. No. No. I'll be at the Ramada. No. You guys. You guys are ridiculous. I was sleeping. I was terrified. I never want that to happen. And I've been with him for over three years. And I will never. Lauren, do you? Look. Sometimes. Don't. Never mind. First of all, it started with look dot dot dot. Yeah. Things happen. Listen. What do you guys think about the deficit? In San Diego, it'd be the best Mexican food. Listen, what? I mean, sometimes. Sometimes. Does he think it's funny? One will slip past the goalie or something. That is not accident. It's not accident. What I'm seeing in your face right now is, Mike, I'm ashamed to tell you the truth, but the truth is sometimes I do it purposefully. No, never. You never do it purposefully. Never, never, never, never.
You don't do like the leg lift or anything? How does it happen on accident? Pull my finger. If you're having a stomach, it's gargling. If you're laughing. You can't keep laughing. Sneeze. You might get the simultaneous. Maybe you have to bend over and pick something up. I don't know. So repulsed right now. You guys have very little control of yourself. One time. Because I don't do that. One time. One time. I might see a specialist. Stop it. 570. 194.9. That's a great way to start the show. Yeah. Yeah. What was a really bad thing that happened to you on a, you know, first date? Oh, that is cheesy. Excuse me. That's just... Yeah, Woods, you're being very quiet over there. I'm not saying a word. Did something terrible happen to you? No, no, no. No, you could see him being very gassy. No, not at all. The worst thing that's happened to me, the worst thing that's happened to me on a, the worst thing that happened to me on a date, well, first of all, I'm an overweight person. So am I. Save that clip. That's a great way to define myself. But no, and at the time I was much heavier than I am now. Okay, this was about, may have been 20 years ago. I was like 20. Okay, because I'm 39 now. And I was very heavy and I went on a date with a girl and we went to the sports arena or something. I mean, it wasn't 20 years ago. It was like 95. We went to the sports arena.
And I don't remember what we were watching. Ice Capades. Yes, we were watching Ice Capades. Disney on Ice. Yes, we were watching Disney on Ice. Alvin and the Chipmunks. Yes. And I just remember that I was sweating so much. Oh, profusely. No. And I knew in my head, I knew, like, it doesn't matter what kind of forgiving heart this woman has. Sweating is not okay. No, it's not cool at all. And there's no getting over it for a person, for a woman. No, because if you think about it, yeah. Yeah, you start to think about it and then you sweat more. Yeah, it's awful. It's awful. You can get up and go to the bathroom and kind of pat yourself off. Yeah, but then on the walk back, you're just sweating. Wait, but why did I get it off? Brought to you by Guayaki Yerba Mate. It's all about your good health and the planet. Surf-wise today, looking at smaller surf, but nonetheless still pretty fun as that northwest swell tapers down. Looking at waves in that waist-chest, shoulder-high zone on occasion, some pluses on top of that, maybe even a few overhead waves that will select open areas to it. Clean conditions, partly cloudy skies, looks like it's going to clear up to be a relatively nice day. Calm, the light offshore winds right now, too. We do have some radical tide swings, though, as we head towards a mega-high tide. Oh, about a six-footer at around, I don't know, 1030 this morning. So that will back off quite a few spots, look for some improvements on the other side of that. All in all, another fun day for surf. For up-to-the-minute surf reports, forecasts, go to surfline.com. And for everything you need in order to go surf, check out one of South Coast Surf Shops, five locations. This surf report is brought to you by Guayaki Yerba Mate, and it can only be heard three times daily right here on FM 94.9. This has been the FM 94.9 Authentic Surf Report. This report is brought to you by Caltrate.
Heading on that 15 southbound before Carroll Canyon Road in accident. Two cars right now. They are blocking the number two and three lanes. One of them is sideways across the lane. We have an overturned SUV. Kenwood drive westbound ramp to the 94. They are just waiting on a tow truck to remove that car. They've closed the... close the ramp down until they can pick it up. And it looks like the 805 northbound between Benita Road and El Cajon, it's a little slow in the mid-20s right now. Get a little TLC every day, tender-loving Caltrade. Caltrade has essential daily calcium plus advanced levels of vitamin D to help you absorb that TLC. I'm Stacey Cohen, FM 94.9. Now back to the Mikey Show on FM 94.9. Tell me, Woodsy. It's a funny Kravitz, dude. Mama said, you know who's playing that opening riff? Who? A little gentleman named Slash. Is that right? Yeah. Real good. Yes. Real good. Real good. Still can't believe I'm sitting here. It's amazing. I know. Welcome back to The Mikey Show. If you are tuning in right now for the first time, I want to introduce everybody. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show. 39 years old. Doey. That makes two of us.
Could we have a group of people more tough on themselves? Seriously. Self-deprecating. Self-deprecating. Really tough on themselves. Woodsy does our sports. He's 34. We got Lauren. Don't forget Creamy White and Chubby. With the double chin. What are we talking about now? Me. Lauren is 29. Not to be confused with 30. Yes. Correct. She really doesn't want you to know. She wants you to know she's not 30. Exactly. Lauren looks like she... How old would you say Lauren looks, Sienna? 19. Yes. Seriously. Really young. Youngest, I would believe, is 20. How about me? Yeah. 50? No. Just craggled and nasty. No, you look about your age. Yeah. Thank you. That's a nice way to say it with lying eyes, Sienna. Yeah, exactly. You look about your... No, you do. Younger, actually. You look like you're 33. No, Sienna is 24. Excuse me. I wasn't asking for it. You asked.
Sienna looks 24. I do. I feel like I look older. I don't think so. I think she looks 24. You don't think? Yeah, I mean, I believe it because I know it. But she definitely, right now, she looks like she could be like 12. It's because I have a hoodie and no makeup on. You're going to see a lot of that. Well, you're also wearing a t-shirt that says, I'm 12. Yes. So that also. Jays says, I like 12-year-olds. Yeah, Jays is real creepy. We got him together. 570-1949 is our phone number. And before we went to break, we were talking about bad first dates. Oh, don't remind me. Never again. Have you ever been on a really bad date with somebody and then you ended up with them? Is a way to go, too. Call us at 570-1949. Or text us, 949mikey at gmail.com. 949mikey at gmail.com. Somebody texted in, P1 Really Loco texted in and said, oddly, I want a Tootsie Roll best line ever. Ew. Does anyone really like Tootsie Rolls? I love Tootsie Rolls. Tootsie Rolls? If it's got sugar in it, I'm in on it. Those are those candies that you would get for free at an event or something and be like, garbage. You don't like Tootsie Rolls? No. Delish.
Like hard and weird. Sorry it's not Godiva. Chocolates from La Coya. That's what I prefer. Sorry it isn't, you know, 94% real Quaqua. The Quaqua bean. Well, it's a lot better what it is, you know. I don't think anyone's going to argue. I eat Godiva only. 570-1949. Oh, and we have a special request for Woods. P1 Thomas. Hey, what's up, Mikey? What's your request? I would like him to do the old bit that you guys always talk about on the old show. What do you say? Real nice, real fresh. He sounds more like me than I do. Is this the Batman in the woods? Dude, I would love to, but I'm not a piece of mead. It's going to come naturally. No, no, I want to, you know, I was going to talk to Mikey about we got to get Bauman on the air this week. I know. At some point. You mean your girlfriend? Yes. They're in a relationship. I'm devastated without him here. I spoke with him yesterday at length. Were there tears involved? No, no, but he is seriously considering moving. Wow. I'm not kidding. Oh, my. Long distance relationship is not. It doesn't work for me. It just doesn't work for me. Challenging. They're like best friends.
Yeah. And the two of them couldn't be more different. But the same. Bauman is very elegant. He thinks he's elegant. He's very well married. He's got a lot of dog in him, too, though. He does? Yes. Yeah, maybe he does. I always get the bad perception, and he gets the, like, he's so far, you know, up here. You get the bad perception because as we're speaking, you have a bottle with tobacco in it that you've been spitting in the whole time we've been on the air. It's true. The whole time we've been on air. That's not refined? No, that is not refined. Okay. Well, Bauman dips too. But I dip man snuff. He dips apple flavored. I swear to God. Apple flavor. Yeah. That is the truth. You know why? Because that's sophisticated. His spit cup smells like an orchard. It does? Yeah. Wow. That's how the girls prefer it. That's right. He's a smart guy. Let's see. People are telling. P1 Johnny UPS says Mikey. Is your stick cam computer plugged into the board? I don't know, but it sounds like maybe I'm hearing a little private instant messenger. It's going to take us so long to get things worked out. It's going to be a year. At least a year. That's a conservative number of how long it's going to take us to work out the technical kinks. You know, we're still trying to figure it out. 5701949 is the number. Bad date stories. Every date I ever had was bad. Really? Never had a good date. They're so awkward.
There's nothing worse. No, they're awkward. Dating is awkward. Going out with somebody is an awkward thing. You're so nervous. It's terrible. Let's see. Read a couple of more texts that we're getting. Mikey went on a first date with a vegetarian. She fainted at dinner and the waitress called 911. Was with her for three years before she turned crazy. It's P1 Daniel. They all do, pal. That's right. Text us 949mikey at gmail.com or call us 570-1949. if you want to get in on this, a really bad date that you had, that it actually turned out okay, you ended up marrying her, you ended up dating her, or whatever. How did you meet your boyfriend, Lauren? Through a friend of a friend. Yeah? Best way. Yeah? Yeah. The referral is always the best way to meet somebody. Well, Lauren is very against meeting people in different ways. I did not say, I said it's good for some people, not for me.
You're not so much a fan of, like, meeting online. Not for me. I'm just... Yeah, that's me giggling. I'm just old school that way. I'm just not savvy. Times have changed, my friends. That's right. Times have changed. Yeah, see, for me, creepy now would be meeting maybe on Craigslist would be creepy. Yeah. See, I love Craigslist. So you would do that. But not to meet dudes. Yeah, not to meet dudes. More like to buy a couch. You know, it's funny. I always think about, Mike, remember, because we're older, like we were around when there were no cell phones, no internet. We were around. What if your buddy came up to you, you know, 15 years ago and said, hey, dude, I just put an ad in the paper to meet somebody. Didn't people do that? They did, but like the dregs of the world did that.
Like a little person. Just put a personal ad up. What would you say to him? You would say you're desperate. Yeah. Get away from me. You would say, dude, you're dumb. Dude, you're dumb. Dude, you're dumb. But now, completely acceptable. Totally acceptable. Totally acceptable. My mom is a wedding planner and she said about 40% of her brides that come in met online. What's wrong with it? That's just the way it is. Facebook. We're all on Facebook. That's true. Don't tell me you haven't perved out on some hot girls, you guys. You have. You have. I've never perved out on anybody. That is the biggest line that's ever come out of your mouth. Yeah, you almost exploded when you said that. Yeah, exactly. His nose is growing. I've never perved out on anyone. Lauren, would it be weird to meet somebody on Facebook? Like romantically? No, I mean for just getting together for random bar mitzvahs and going to bar mitzvahs together. Yes, for me it would be very strange. I want to know what you're really thinking. I feel you're holding back right now. Oh, absolutely. She's going, this is what's happening in Lauren's head right now. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. And in addition to that, I would be terrified that that person was going to chop my head off if I met them. You know? Just say it. This is what's happening in Lauren's brain. Birds. Birds. Thousand ten.

Jay is 46 years old, believe it or not. Cannot believe it. And he could just whip my butt up and down the street. Let's do this. Let's do it. You guys a surfer? Yep. Likes to surf. Shredded. He has chickens. He does. Raises chickens. And four kids. Yeah. He's got four kids. Yeah. That's crazy. And his wife is gorgeous and tiny. Uh-huh. It's insane. You stay away from her woods. I will. This text message, you can text us, 949mikey at gmail.com. It says, Mikey, I would take a bad date just to have a date. I'm a 35-year young woman who's never been on a date. That's P1 Timo. She's never been on a date? She's never been on a date. That breaks my heart. Yeah, sad. I wonder why she has not been on a date. I don't know. 570-1949 is our phone number. Let's see. Sienna has some warning signs that dudes are not over their ex. And I have to say I agree with all of them. Imagine that. What is it? It's a whole list. All right.
All right, he constantly brings her up in conversation. Huge warning. Guy's trying to share his feelings. Compares her to you. That's of course natural. If a guy ever compared me to his ex, I would slap him. Do women not do that? Well, I'm just saying this is a guy's list. You know what other thing is a sign? I'll get off my soapbox. You know what else is a sign that he's not over her? He puts a blonde wig on you in the middle of conversation. And you're a brunette. That's a sign that he may not be over it. Just shh, don't say anything. Has a guy... Just don't talk. And you, as the brunette, go, what are you... Shh, just... And you go, but I feel... And he puts a pair of glasses. What are you... Shh. That's a warning. Yeah, it's a warning sign. Lauren, has a guy ever accidentally called you his ex's name? No, but that would definitely be grounds for slap. Could you imagine? Oh, I'm going to call out my ex's name when I say the phone number here. I'll be saying 570-WALA and I'll give the wrong thing out. See, that's human nature. Yeah, it's human nature. For a while, right? You need to get over it before you start dating someone else, though. Do you? Yes. Yes. You know, it's not fair for the new girl. Are you the...
Real quick rebound guy, he'd date somebody right away. 100%. Yeah? 100%. I'm a girlfriend guy. You don't like to be alone, though. Yeah, a guy doesn't do very well by himself. I was that way before I got married. I needed to be with somebody. I'm working on it, though, and I'm learning. I'm growing every day. Lauren? No, never been that way. Do not need to be with somebody. Calculated. Yeah, she is. If I'm not over someone, I feel disgusting hanging out with someone else. Really? I feel like an awful person. I don't want to touch them. I need to be... I wonder if girls are real different that way. No, lots of girls aren't like that. Lots of girls will go for it. It just depends on the person. He routinely calls her. He holds on to memorabilia from his past relationship. Because you never know. Maybe like their first date movie stub. You never know. I don't know. He listens to breakup music. That's a hoarder. You know, that's a hoarder. That's why he's keeping this stuff. He's just hoarding it. He's hoarding it. I have stuff from exes. You do? Yeah. Does Todd know this? He does now. He does now.
Sorry, Todd. I mean, it's like, I don't think he would ever make me get rid of it, though. It's not stuff that's like out. It's not stuff that I look at. You guys aren't dating anymore, though. You're about to get married. I would get rid of it. Well, I would get rid of it if he wanted me to. I mean, I have no problem. It's like some old cards. It's already packed in on the front porch for when you get home. I'm telling you, they're cards. They're meaningful. It's part of my life. Lauren, do you keep cards from exes? No. No. No. I usually keep all relationship-related. Keepsakes in one box. Give me an example. In a box? Yeah. I have like a file box. Yeah, it's the same type of deal. And I put all the like important little things in there. Is it written in Sharpie on top of the box, the just in case box? Does it say that? No, it says like box O, fill in the blank, ex-boyfriend. Why do you keep it? I don't anymore. Oh, you don't now? When I'm in the relationship, I keep it. Oh, okay. And then when it's over, overboard. Okay, well, wait. I have a question. What? How do you know when it's really over? In other words, haven't you ever been in the relationship that you break up and get back together? Oh, yeah. I mean, I had an overlap of boxes. So you keep it for a while? When do you know to get rid of it? You just know. I just know. You go, okay, it's been long enough. It's not going to come back. Okay, now I feel really bad. Should I be getting rid of this stuff? Like I said, it's already on the porch. Does he know it exists?
I don't... I mean, he's never... It's not anything that you can look at, though. Meanwhile, he's probably taking the cabinet. No, no. He doesn't get jealous. He's not like that. I don't know. He knows... Where is it? It's in my bed. Do I have to tell you where it is? She's like, it's behind me right now. It's in my... No, I have a box that's in my closet. What's in the box? What's in the box? No. That has like, there's files and there's just like some nice cards. I have a little file area that says nice cards that I've saved. Really? And it has my grandma's, you know, my mom. It's time to pitch them. A couple X's. Do the X's get mixed in with grandma? No, it's not like I purposely do it. It's just they were there. I haven't cleaned it out. They were meaningful things at the time. All of his, all of. Who I'm marrying now. His stuff is all in there. I'm afraid. I feel bad. I feel bad. No, don't feel bad. Am I an awful person? I'll get rid of it. Yeah, tonight. Really? Time to move on. Why don't you bring it in? We all take a look at it. Yeah, let's bring it in. No. You bring it in. Let us go through it. Read some on the air. Some of them are very deep. Just torture. You can't. Who I love, by the way. It's awful.
Dude's awesome. Thank you, I know. Awesome. I got a good one. He looks like Uncle Joey from... Identical. Excuse me, not identical. Identical. He is much more handsome. Much handsomer. Much handsomer. Okay, if your boyfriend brings you to places that remind him of his ex. Mm-hmm. How would you know that? How would you know? He'd have to tell you. Like, excuse me, did you take your ex-girlfriend here? Katie and I used to eat here all the time. Yeah, I guess you have to say that. It's really not the same with you. It's not the same without, it's, yeah, it's not as much fun with you here. Right. Oh, that would be cool. Well, I mean, yeah, nobody tells somebody that that's what he used to do unless you're just dumb. And then the last one is if he brings up that he's annoyed his ex is now dating someone. That stings, though, doesn't it? That one could come up. That one stings a little. It's like, why do you care? It stings a little. 570-1949 or text us. 949mikey at gmail.com This is the brand new Mikey show on FM 94.9. A lot of people are probably wondering what the deal is. If they have never heard this show before, then they're used to hearing something different. Which, by the way, I want to tell you, the guys that were here...
on this radio station doing mornings before. Cool dudes that still have jobs here. Very. They're still working here. And everybody has been so helpful. It's been amazing. So supportive. Let's see. P1 Nikki, are you there? Yeah. How are you doing? I'm good. What's up? Well, the worst first date movie that I've ever been on. I was 16 years old. It was something about Mary. Genius. Awkward. Why? Because it was so funny and you felt embarrassed? Well, actually, I was a really innocent teenager. Zipper. That whole scene. Zipper made you uncomfortable. That's like the famous scene of the movie. The greatest. I had no idea what was going on. It made you really uncomfortable, right? I was so uncomfortable. And you didn't know what was going on. I was confused. I was innocent. I was innocent. So it was so awkward and uncomfortable. I like how she says she was innocent. I know. Yeah. She was younger. She was younger. That's what she means. Another time. I'm not 16 anymore. How old are you, Nikki? I'm 30. Sweet. Thanks for calling. Yeah, thanks. I saw Titanic with someone. Did you cry? It was awful. Yeah. It's long. I wept. I wept. I did. I did. I was on a first date. And I'm like, oh my gosh, I think I'm going to cry. Yeah, I cried.
I did too. I hit it. I cry at movies though, dude. I am a giant Sally. How did you hide it? How did I hide it? Right now, Leo is holding on to her on the door and she's like, it's so cold. Stupid Celine Dion in the background just ripping my soul out. How do you hide it? What you do is you sit there, you let the tears come, but then you wait for a time where you can kind of cough. And wipe. The cough wipe. That's a good move. No, you can't. You hear like 50 guys in there going... I can think of a bunch of movies that have gotten me. With a girl? Yeah, sometimes with a girl. The Hangover? My friend Craig, Craig Gass, comedian. Funny. He went to see The Notebook. And he went with a bunch of comedians.
And they didn't know what it was. They just went to the mall and they were like. That's a lie. Let's go see this. Yeah, they knew what it was. That's a lie. Because he said he didn't know. They bought their tickets online. He said as soon as it started, they show that beautiful lake. And he knew instantly. And they were playing the music. And he goes, I knew instantly. Oh, no. I'm going to cry. No, he said, oh, yes. Best movie ever. I'm embarrassed to say I read the book, too. It's a good book. You are one girly guy. I was at my parents' lake house and it was there. And I read. I'm a reader. And I don't read like Us Magazine. I read like books. Well, I can bring in some Us Magazine. Thank you. And it was there and I read it and it was... Spectacular. For real? Spectacular. It's a good book. I would seriously never thought that you would. I see like street cred just running out the door right now. He's a crier. Woods is a crier. He told me at the wedding when he comes to the wedding he will cry. Oh, I will cry again. Really? The truth? Yeah. I'm like, we've only known each other for a couple weeks. I'm looking at a guy right now with a backwards baseball cap and a big pinch of Copenhagen in his mouth. And he's saying he will cry.
At Sienna's wedding. I don't think I'll cry. I'm sorry. Hey, I don't expect you to. Have I ever cried? No, I'm made of steel. Yeah. I can't see Lauren crying, though. Well, what gets you, Lauren? What gets you? Well, the notebook got me. Random stuff will get me. Like that movie, The Bear. I don't know. That always makes me cry. I don't know what that is. What about the dog movie with the huskies and Eight Below? I was sobbing. Like that the whole time. He saves them in the Arctic. Dude, have you not seen this movie? It's the worst movie ever. It's not. It's good. The only reason I saw it is because it has Paul Walker, and he is hot. He's the next Academy Award winner for sure, but the movie is amazing. Did he cry at the notebook, thought that it was lame, and at the very end of the movie, when the thing happens, it happens. I don't want to ruin it for anybody. I thought that's so unrealistic. No, that's what made the waterworks go on for me. That's really going to happen. Spoiler, spoiler, spoiler. They die at the end together. That's never going to happen in a million years. Maybe not at the exact same time, but people do that within days, hours of each other. Yep.
It happens. I do believe that. I do believe that. After June died, he died very, very soon after. Yeah. You just don't want to go on. I believe that, but, I mean, at the same time. Two hearts that beat is one. That's right. You know what, Bono? I don't think it happens that often. P1, Nicole, are you there? Nicole, can you hear me? Come in, Nicole. I think I have the wrong line pressed anyway. Nicole, okay. Here we go. I'm just figuring it out. It's going to take me a long time to really figure it out. I'm just letting people know that right off the bat. I barely have it figured out at all in life. People are asking me on the chat if I'm chewing tobacco. They said, welcome to California. We don't do that here. Yeah, right. They don't do that here. On your web chat? Mm-hmm. I'm getting really inappropriate comments. Yeah, me too. I don't want to have to fight somebody over my two girls already, man.
Are you just getting real weird stuff? Like creepy stuff. It's very distracting. Somebody asked Lauren to flash them. So I flashed for her. Can't you minimize that? Yeah. But then I'll drive you nuts. I'm making sure that we're still on. Oh, okay. Yeah, it's at Catch-22. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Well, people are going to do and say some strange stuff. You know that? Oh, there's the woman I'm sexually attracted to. Easy, Jen. That's a bias. 570-1949 is the phone number if you want to give us a call. And we're talking about a variety of things this morning. And one of them is the bad dates. And the other one is stuff that guys get weepy over. Let's see. P1. He's actually referring to him as an M1. We're trying to decide what we're going to call ourselves.
M1 Texas, what's up? Hey, how you doing? It's actually M1 Texas Red, but that's cool. What's up, dude? Hey, how you doing? Good. First of all, Mike, I just want to say, you sound like an angel. Oh, thank you, brother. Thank you. No problem. And hey, Woodsy? Yes, sir. Hey, you don't sound quite as good, but hey, don't be too hard on me. It's my first day, pal. You come up here and try it. Thanks, brother. Thank you, man. Let's see. B1Chunk says, Mikey, the cough wipe is awesome. Or you could just say your eyeballs are sweating. I've actually done that before. That's B1Chunk, he says. He's done that. I would laugh. That would be okay. Actually, if the guy cried and he said, sorry, my eyeballs are sweating, I'd be like, you could cry all you want. That's funny. Is your guy crying in front of you ever? Never. I've never seen it once. Never seen it? He said a single tear fell once when I wasn't looking, but I was in the same room. Really? Mm-hmm. One lone tear. Yeah. Oh, man. See, my mom cried at everything. Mm-hmm. And it taught me that that's what you're supposed to do. Yeah, it's okay, dude. Shh. It's okay. You got to let it out sometime. It makes me feel so uncomfortable. It feels good to cry. It does. Like, ah, it feels just...
I'm a private crier. I'm like a shower car crier. You are? Yeah. So you can hold it? I bet it's very quiet, too. It's like you have to pee and you can hold your cry? I cannot. You're like, oh my gosh. I hold it. I store it up and then it's just like, wah. Really? Yeah. How do you do that? I don't know. You have superpowers. How do you have the control to not cry if you have to? I don't know. That's pretty awesome. It's okay to cry, guys. Let it out. Yeah. We like it. I like it. That's a super ability you have. I don't know if I would like if I saw my guy cry during the notebook, though. That's a little weird. Yeah. Really? Yeah. Why? Dude, it's a touching love story. It has to be like, you still want him to be tough. You know, like it has to be. Dude, I'll arm wrestle you right now. Okay. Yeah, let's arm wrestle. No, I mean, it's just there's a time and a place that's okay. When? Like, if someone were to pass away, then it's okay. That's weird. I don't cry at that. I don't cry at funerals. Like, I'm really hoping that maybe my fiancé cries when we get married because he'll be so happy, but he's not going to. But that's one of those moments. Lauren, you would be turned off if a guy cried? No, I didn't say that. No, she said, aw. She's supportive. So it's okay. Absolutely. They'd be happy. Anna, are you there? You think that it's okay to keep love notes from former people?
I do think so. I've actually read it. I think it was in like chicken noodle soup for the stall. Okay, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Stop right there. Did she say chicken noodle soup? Yeah, I think it's just chicken soup. But if you want noodles in it, that's fine. Who doesn't want noodles? Okay, I want you to hang on the line. Can you do that? Yeah. Okay, hang on. Because I want to talk to her about that. Keeping the old love notes. Now I feel bad. I want to see what she has to say. Maybe I'll hang on. I don't know. I want to know what Todd would think of it. Your boyfriend. Your fiancé. I know. I don't know if he's mad. He may just be like, she's dumb. It's the Mikey Show on FM 94.9. Want to hear something not smart? You know, I'm just telling people as we go through the process of how this works, I'm getting my sea legs here. I don't know how a lot of this stuff works here, and so I'm trying to figure it out. So the show is going to grow in terms of...
The little audio pieces that you hear and all that stuff as we go along because I'm trying to figure it out. So as I figure it out, you'll hear more stuff and all that kind of stuff. This text message says, tell Woodsy that people in San Diego do dip. Let him know there's an area of town called Lakeside. He is 100% correct about that. In Lakeside, I would say that there's probably a lot of dipping going on. I'm a baseball player. That's what we do. That's right. He's a baseball player. What team are you on? I'm actually going to join a team very soon. A men's adult baseball team. That's good. I'm glad that you kind of did qualify that with adult. Saying a men's adult. Sounds like a little league team. When you say it at first that you're going to be playing baseball here in the area. Yes, I am. That's great, little guy. Champ. On this minute. 570-1949 is the phone number. Let's take some calls because a lot of people are calling about the date thing and they're calling about all kinds of stuff. And we had Brianna right before we went to break. Brianna, are you there? Brianna? No Brianna. She's gone. Louis, are you there? Maybe I don't have this working right now. Hello, I'm here. Hi, Louis. Hi, Louis. Go ahead, dude. Can you hear me? Yeah. All right.
Yeah, it's okay for them girls to keep those love letters and all. It's okay for us guys to keep fongs from previous girlfriends. Ew. Totally different. I totally agree. It's totally different. Stop it. Yes, it's different. Why is it the same thing? I think Louis may be right. I think it might be the same thing. It's the same thing. Okay, no, it's not. One is meaningful and one is disgusting. No, it's not. To us guys, the physical is meaningful. Yes. And to you girls and all that stuff is meaningful. That's right. It's really meaningful. Lou, how big is your collection? Well, I started collecting them. It wasn't too crazy. He's not kidding. So creepy. I love it. Have you met Jay, our producer? Oh, my God. Hey, dude, are you going to announce me or what, bro? That's my nephew. He comes with me to the show often. Yeah, dude, I'm kind of mad at you right now. His name is Beto, but we can't call him that. We're not allowed to call him that because, you know, it says it. For legal reasons, we're not allowed to call him that. So I have to change his name. Who are you going to call me, dude? I've decided that your new name is going to be Kendall. It's okay. It's a good name. That's not even Mexican, dude. That isn't even a guy's name, bro. You look like a Kendall. Yeah, you do a little bit. Yeah, I think you look like a Kendall, Kendall. I'm Mexican, dude. I don't look like a Kendall.
Isn't a Kindle one of those things you read books on? That's a Kindle. Sounds the same to me. I'm not going to go by that, bro. Kendall, I'm going to go get you a little polo shirt at Gap later today. Don't call me Kindle. You look like one. You look like one. I think it's a good name for you. It fits. It does. It's my nephew. I bring him in to the show. He just hangs out in the background. 570-1949. Kendall, put that down. Don't call me that, bro. Hey, Kendall, would you grab me a cup of coffee? Don't call me Kendall, dude. Thanks, bro. And I don't get coffee. Oh, can you get me a Diet Coke then? I don't get anything. You know what I do? I get in trouble. Oh, Kendall, you're tough. Yeah, I am, dude. You're tough, Kendall. Especially with that name. We should compare rap sheets sometime.
Yeah, we should see if Kendall, it's not my name, can get through our background check system. There's no way. I don't think you could. There's no way. And Woodsy had a little bit of an issue trying to get through our background check to get hired. Just a couple. Yeah, it happens. But I'm here. Brianna's back. Are you there, Brianna? Yes, can you hear me? Yeah, what's going on? Nothing. I just wanted to comment on the keeping love letters and love notes. Yeah, you were saying. You were saying that it's like chicken soup for the soul. Yeah, I read it that it's okay to keep them. So that way you're not supposed to read them all the time because that would be pretty creepy. But like when you're feeling down, if you're doing a breakup or like when you're older. That's terrible. Yeah, but if I'm getting married, is it okay that I keep them? No, it's not even. I mean, that's something I didn't even think about. But I also don't think that it. Oh. Even if you're dating, even if you're dating and you have a girlfriend, a new girlfriend, I don't think you keep the old stuff. I mean, I... It's not something that you tell him, but like... Well, he knows no. I think you could put it up in an addict and then maybe when you're older or something, you kind of look back and you go, oh, I remember that. Oh, that was a good time in my life. You need reassurance that you were loved at one time. Exactly. Brianna. It's like keeping a picture. Are you married, Brianna? No, but I do have a boyfriend. Brianna, let me tell you.
Here's the deal. If you keep that stuff, well, first of all, here's the easy way. How would you feel about him keeping old stuff? I'd be furious. You better get rid of that right now. So I'm happy. I'm going to get rid of it because if you put it that way, I would be so mad. Anybody who's listening to the Mikey Show for any length of time, they know that I say that anger is not a real emotion. Anger is something that we have that masks. Three very real emotions. Hurt, sadness, and fear. I would be very hurt, sad, and fearful if I found his stash of love notes. But you have old love notes. But I didn't even, you know, it was because the topic came up and I was like, you know, I think I do have those around. Yeah, I do. But now that I'm getting married, I think that's, I think if you're dating, it's fine. But if you get married, I think, yeah, maybe get rid of them. And Brianna, tell me what you were saying again. Like you think it's a good idea to keep them. Why? Well, I mean, not like, you know, 30 or 40 of them, but maybe like one or two. And it's not something that you would keep around so that everybody could read them or anything. But just I think when you're older. That's not what you're not keeping them for when you're older, though, because you said that you would keep them for like if you're in a fight. No, no, not in a fight. Feeling down. Feeling down. But like, say, for instance, you're dealing with another breakup. Like, it's just nice to feel that you were loved.
You know what I mean? I see what she's saying. Oh, forget it. But I think it's okay if you're dating, but I think if you get married, maybe you're in a moment. Oh, it's all gone. Time to clean the slate. Thank you. Thank you for the call. Let's see. P1 Paul, are you there? I'm here, buddy. What's up? Not too much. Hey, Paul, were you a listener to me on the old station? Yeah, I was. You know, I have my radio turned off for like a couple months because I... kind of decided that I was going to take a break and I come back and all these things have changed. Well, here's my question. Should we keep the P1 thing? Should we change it? What should we do? I'm sorry. Give me a brief description of P1. Okay. P1 is a Mikey Show listener. All right. A Mikey Show listener turns their radio down, gets to the point, doesn't cuss. That's a P1. And so we're just trying to decide what we're going to call ourselves. People have said M1. Somebody said the tribe. T1. T1. I mean, people have come up with all kinds of stuff. Was P kind of like... Priority. Priority. Yeah, priority. But was that something that was only 105.3? Like you can't take that over to... No, we can. I mean, because it's a generic radio term. I mean, we... But just no one else really ever used it here before Mikey. Yeah. Yeah, but keep it. There's a vote going on. That's like the Cheerios all of a sudden taking away the B or something like that.
There's a vote going on. There's a vote going on, FYI, on the P1 site right now. Yeah, Danny put up a poll. And P1 is running away with it. Really? Yeah. Well, tell us why you were calling in, Paul. Oh, the only date, as far as my wife is concerned, that I ever went on, I married her. Really? One date and done? As far as she's concerned. Now, between you and us. And everyone else. Do you ever want to just, I mean, is that regretful? Are you regretful? Are you thinking, you know, it would have been nice to maybe kiss someone else? Oh, no way. She's, we've got two kids. Well, we've got one kid, one baby, one on the way. And I swear, I have never been happier. That is so cool. Congrats. Congrats, man. That is awesome. Good job, buddy. P1 Vanessa. Hello. What up? Well, I was just listening about the letters and I happen to be married, but. I was just thinking, the runners are almost like a form of cheating. Like, you're almost cheating. Yes. Like, even when you're, like, breaking up or whatever, you're in a fantasy land. I don't know. Okay, well, I will say... I'm with Vanessa. Wait, wait, wait. I will say this.
I don't think that that is the case in Sienna's case. No, no. In fact, and the reason I say it is because you see Sienna even now going, I'm not sure if I should be doing this. No, I mean, I don't look at them. They were put there years ago when I got them. And I know, I mean, maybe once I've looked, but I don't think I have since I've been with the guy I'm with now. How hard would it be for you to throw them out? Oh, easy. You could easily. Oh, yeah. Yeah, it's not. I mean, they're just there because they were. They were meaningful at the time. You haven't cleaned out the system yet. Yeah, but, I mean, I never planned on cleaning it out. You know, they were nice things at the moment. But now that I think about it, and I think if he had those, I would be... You'd freak out. Oh, I'd freak out. So, Vanessa, what's your take on it? Well, I was just thinking, you know, I've had some pretty interesting love letters, and then some pretty basic love letters. So, if it's something that your man, if he read through it and was like, hey, that is not cool. You know, I would get rid of him. There's one that's like really, really deep and gnarly. What guy is going to be like, well, let me go through this. You know, this one I'm cool with. So let's put that one in. I'm cool with this one pile. And we'll make a pile. We'll make a pile of the ones I'm really, really cool with and actually stoked about from your ex. Oh, he agrees with me on that one. Yeah, totally.
And then because this one talks about, you know, really personal, intimate times, I'll put that in the... Let's ditch that one. Yeah, let's ditch that one. Yeah, there's one that's very deep, which is why I kept it, because it was like, geez, this is insane that he wrote this about me, you know? But then, now that you think about it... But now it's like, I don't... I could care less about that guy now, so I'll die. You wouldn't want the same. You wouldn't want to find one of those from a girl. Absolutely. No, now I feel bad. Driving nuts. Driving absolutely nuts. Vanessa, thank you for the call. Thank you, guys. Have a good day. You too. Thank you. You too. P1 David is on the line. You there, David? Am I there, David? Is this David or no? No, it's not. It is not. Hang on the line. I'm trying to figure out how these lines work. They weren't numbered up until yesterday. I know. So you couldn't tell what line you were going to, so it's confusing. I know. Jeremy's gone. Hey, Jay, can you tell which line David is on? You're going to hear Jay on a speaker. Listen. Yeah, David is on line four. Got it. Oh, yeah. Is he still there? David, you there? Yeah, this is David. What up? David's like yelling, I'm here. I've been here. I'm like, yes, it's me. Can you hear me? Go ahead. Well, hey, well, good morning. Good morning, Mikey. Good morning, everyone. Good morning. Long-time listener, both sides of the radio stations. And I was just calling because my wife, we've been married for three years. We have a beautiful son. Planning on having more kids.
You know, we're both attending college. You know, extremely busy. But anyways, my wife, she's always inquiring. I have letters and pictures, pictures of, you know, exes. But, you know, I was in the Marines before, so I have tons and tons of friends within the pictures. So she's always telling me, well, why do you have the pictures? You know, what are you trying to say? And it's like, well, come on. We've been married for three years. We've been together for over eight years. You know, it's like those are mementos for me. But she sees those, you know. Well, wait a minute. There's a difference between pictures of, you know, group photos of friends and having pictures of your exes. Kissing pictures. Like, those have got to go. Or even just in a restaurant, you know, sitting together. Just the two of them. Yeah. Do you have any of those? Well, I have one or two, you know, because I was stationed in Paris for a while, and, you know, there's a picture of, like, the Eiffel Tower, and I'm like... But you can Google that. He was stationed in Paris Hilton. That's the problem. That's the problem with it. It's time to toss those pics, man, I think. Yeah, I mean, I would say, you know what, just to be fair, I'll cut that individual out. Cut them out. I don't think you need to cut them out if it's a group shot. Just cut her head out. We're talking like the one-on-one pictures of you and your ex. Then get rid of those. Just paste your new wife's picture over the old one's face. Yeah, there you go. I like that. All right, thanks for the call. Thank you. That's David. Let's see.
Asia, are you there? Yep, I'm here. What's going on? Okay, so I think it depends. Because Brianna, I was going to say what she said, but then I thought about it. And it depends on how comfortable you are with yourself and your relationship. You know what I mean? Because when I have my pictures, not pictures, I don't have pictures. But if I have letters, you know, I was telling them that. It makes me look back on it and think like, oh, I was a dork back then and all those stupid. crap that he would write to me and stuff like that, you know? Okay, now, why is it okay, though, Aisha, to keep it? I mean, because, I mean, I like, okay, personally, I've been with my boyfriend for four years, you know, and when I read his love letters, I laugh at, you know, yeah, I read his. Like, I've actually, I've sat there in front of him. Oh, see, I would not be able to do that. She's very calm. I don't think so. No, I'm so serious. And, like, I just laugh because the girls that he used to date are just... Like, weenies, you know? Like, they would just be like, oh, my God, I love you so much. And, like, they were dating him for, like, two weeks. And I was like, what the hell? Yeah. You know? Like, how could you love... I just think it's funny. I say, no way. Don't want it. No. Don't want it. Oh, I would front flip. That would make my heart hurt. Me, too. To jam. Look at you over there, loving music. Social D, right? Social D, baby.

This text message says, Mikey, love the new show. My mornings finally feel right again. Sounds great. Nice. Thank you. Love it. We are still figuring out what we're going to call ourselves. P1site.com, which is where fans get together. It's a site that was made by P1s for P1s. They're saying they love P1. They want to skip P1. I just say, listen, that's fine. I just want peace. P1 Rude Dog says, hey, Mikey, great to hear you on the air again, dude. It's great to be on the air again. Let me tell you. I love it. These are the text messages that we're getting. And you can text us, like I said, 949 Mikey at gmail.com. Mikey, P1 was a Mikey show thing and still is. I say keep it. Thank you. Appreciate that. Let's see. Mikey, tell Lauren. It's true nerds that find love online. Because mine and I are married. Let's see. I love it. He says that Lauren called me rad on YouTube. Right. That's what he says. He says, and all of us in Lakeside don't chew. That's gross. All right. Mikey, if you feel any guilt over the question of keeping old things from old relationships whatsoever.
You shouldn't be keeping it. Exactly. Yep. That's P1CJ. Yeah. I agree. Well. And I just, I don't get the person that doesn't care. I just don't get that person that doesn't care. It's a very secure person. Well, it's beyond. I don't believe it. Yeah. Yeah, I don't either. I just don't believe that people don't care. I think they do care. And you're saying they don't care. Did you make two? He missed it, dude. He missed it by a long shot. Well. Toby. Not the easiest thing in the world to shoot from that far across the room. It's not. It's a real three-pointer. Trash can's only humongous, but... Yeah. That's right. So there's a new study out that says that you can tell whether a person's a Republican or a Democrat by something about them. What is it? Scientific American did this study where they had a bunch of people... Looking at black and white photos of candidates back in 2004 to 2006 from the U.S. Senate. And based upon their faces, they could tell whether or not they were a Republican and a Democrat. Really? And I guess they were like all dead on. And here's how. They said Democrats had warmth quality, warm qualities such as likability and trustworthiness. That's right. You know, I really, I'm not, I'm serious. Thank you.
But, I mean, still, how do you... Warm qualities, likability, and trustworthiness, you can tell that from a face in a picture. Look at this face right here. Those are the Democrats. And Republicans, you can tell they have power qualities such as dominance and maturity. Oh, wow. I don't even know what everybody is. Woodsy, what are you? Democrat. You're a Democrat? Yeah. Are you really? I mean, not hardcore, dude. How do you swing? I'm more of like a moderate. Moderate Democrat? Yeah. Lauren, what are you? Do you really need to ask? She's trying vinegar health stuff. Of course. Are you real liberal? Yeah, on most things, but I'll have random conservative views. Yeah, because you have a shotgun in your hand right now. Exactly. That's the reason I'm asking. Sienna is... Can you tell them my face? Republican. I'm moderately Republican, yeah. I mean, I'm not that hardcore, but if I were to lean one way, it would be Republican. What about you, Jay? I'm definitely a Democrat. Definitely. Definitely. Very liberal views as well. Really? Yes. I am extraordinarily conservative Republican. I mean, as conservative Republican as it gets. So is my dad. Really? Mm-hmm. I'm the only one on the show. Everyone else is Democrat. And that's the thing. When I was putting the show together, I didn't even know. Yeah.
No, I was putting it together going, I just want to know that these people are likable. But now that I know that, I think I better leave. Now that I've been figuring it all out. Meanwhile, I have a huge Obama poster. I know. Yes, there's the man. I know. Got the big Obama thing. My brother is a big Obama supporter. We have some very spirited conversations. Jay, I don't know how to make the call screener thing. Keeps falling asleep. We'll figure that out. The kid took care of it for you. No, the kid. The kid's got it going. I'll work on that setting over the break. Let's see. Man, people are saying keep the P1 thing. They love the P1 thing. They do. P1 Glenn. How you doing, Mikey? Good, dude. Good. Hey, just wanted to call in and say thanks for everything you got going on. I've been listening to Mikey's show for a couple years now. And really, now that you're over here on 94.9, I had to reprogram my radio this morning. That's a good thing. Really? That's awesome. I love it, and I'm happy, and I'm glad that you're happy, too. I'm glad to be back on the air. Absolutely. Well, it's good to have you back on, man. Really, I'm going to keep on listening and call in when I get a chance. On the whole Republican-Democrat thing, I've always had trouble picking a side, so I guess I'm kind of both. I vote for whoever seems to have the right thing going on. Appreciate it. That's a good way to look at it. Yeah, I think so, too. I think that, especially when it comes to issues, I think it's dumb to...
Because everything that I hear, I don't go, well, I'm just going to instantly go for that because it's my party. It's the same the other way. I mean, there's some things that I do feel sort of liberal on, some social issues. I care deeply for the poor. It's hard to pick one side nowadays. Yeah. Let's see. P1 Cindy, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. What's up? Hey, what's up, Mikey? I just want to say I'm so happy that you're on today. I mean, I've been looking forward to this day forever. My husband and I are huge P1s. We've been P1s forever, and I'm just very excited for you. And I love 94.9. It's an awesome station. I mean, they play really cool music that no one else plays. I'm just so excited for you. And I have a question. Are you going to have new stickers out? Yes. I mean, I'm serious. I'm in a classroom all over my car. Yay. Yeah, we are. Love it. And also, I have a quick question. Are you still going to do your testimony? Because I look forward to that every Friday. Absolutely. Oh, awesome. Okay. I love you, Mikey. Love you. Thank you for calling. That's cool. Yeah, we are going to do stickers. And they're going to be awesome. Thank you. Yeah, we are going to do stickers. One guy said last night that he felt like last night was Christmas Eve. He was so excited to get up this morning and open a present. So would that make us Santa Claus?
No. I slept about 15 minutes last night. No questions. I know. I slept like a baby. I get up today and everything went wrong. Yep. When it was 6.15 last night, I was like, well, Mikey's already sleeping. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Dead asleep. 100%. I went to sleep so early last night. I fell asleep at midnight. I couldn't sleep. From 12 to 12.15. Yeah. I was too excited. Oh, yeah. I'm on pure adrenaline right now. Oh, yeah. Copenhagen. Let's see. 570-1949 is the number if you want to give us a call. And a lot of people are calling in. See, this gal is referring to herself as an M1. M1 Christine. Hi, Christine. Are you there? It's Kristen, actually. Go ahead. I just wanted to tell you this morning I woke up late. I was having the worst morning ever. I had to drive down from Long Beach to get to work on time. And I flipped on the radio, and I heard you right as you were coming on. And right when you said, you ready to do this, guys, I got goosebumps all over, and you totally made my Monday. That is rad. That is awesome. Thank you very much. I appreciate that. Have a great day, and welcome to the new crew. Thank you. Thank you. Isn't it weird how we sound like we've known each other for 10 years? Seriously. Well, in Woodsy's case, I have. Well, we have, yeah. We have. But what was weird, and I was explaining this to somebody.
Woods had never met Lauren. Nope. I didn't know Lauren. Nope. Two months ago, I didn't know Lauren. Now, Sienna didn't know anybody. We're all getting to know each other, but we've been hanging out, and every time we do, it's real normal. That first dinner, man, we could have stayed there for, we stayed there five hours. Five hours, and that wasn't enough. Five hours, and it wasn't enough. No, we could have stayed there longer. There's no question. We just felt uncomfortable with the waitstaff that we were keeping them that long. Guys need anything else? Yeah. He was jingling his car keys. Right. It's like, so basically, work's been closed for about an hour. Hey, guys, thanks for coming. His car's warming up in the parking lot. He changed into his go-home clothes. He's bouncing a baby in his right arm. So we're just going to change her. See you guys later, and thanks for coming. That was so awesome, that night. It was a fun night. That was a great night. Let's see. P1 truck driver, what's up? What's going on, Mikey? What's up, dude?
Hey, welcome back to the Airwaves, Mikey. Thank you, dude. Congratulations. Thank you very much. Jack of the 21st century. Oh, dude. Thank you very much. I'm really glad to be back. And this new crew is cool. And as time goes on, I'm going to learn how to work the equipment, which is going to be great. Will be. And we'll get it all dialed in. Thanks, Mikey. Thank you, bro. Let's see. P1 Ricky, you there? Yes, I am. What up? Mike, welcome back to the Airwaves. Thank you, bro. So I got hurt in Afghanistan recently. I got sent home early, and when I got back earlier this month, I turned on 105.3, and you weren't there. I heard Costa. I got extremely scared, so I called the show, and B-Rob answered, and I go, B-Rob, where's Mikey? And he goes, he, like, extremely sad. He goes, dude, he's not here anymore. I freaked out. It was almost like the sadness I had is equivalent to when the Vikings lost last week. crying. Yeah. I switched over to AM radio. I didn't want to listen to it anymore. And then you came on this morning and completely have made the day. Dude. That's awesome. Well, and that's the thing, man. I mean, I'm just, I'm glad to be back. You know, it was a, it was tough. It was definitely tough being off as long as I was because this is all I know. It's all I've ever done. But the cool thing is, we're back. We're back. Which is great. Yes.
Is that Bauman calling in? It's got to be. Is this Bauman or no? Michael. Why am I hearing you? I've got you on the stream, but is it a delay? I don't know. I have no idea. Bauman does not sound... At all, how I imagine. No, not at all. Apple snuff. Just because I did apple snuff. Apple snuff. What's up, dude? Good morning. You guys sound fantastic. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, man. I'm assuming there's a delay right now, so if I drop the F-bomb. Do not drop. Do not drop. Besides that, you're too sophisticated to do that. Yeah, you're too refined. Yeah, you're too refined. Well, congrats, guys, on the first day back. Hold the line, pal. Thank you, bro. Hang on. Yeah, can you hang on? Absolutely. Hang on a second. Okay. So let's take care of some business. They were doing sales in Dallas when the Mikey Show was on in Dallas. Bauman was my mentor in sales. That's right. Bauman, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. And the two of them are very, very good friends. Yes. And this morning, Woods, you said that you are considering, you know, throw the idea around. Yeah. Maybe you would come here.
I want to know first, you got some nerve leaving me on hold for over time. You guys are VIP, dude. That's right. I'm VIP. Top five market. I'm on hold. I drive a BMW, dude, okay? You can't put me on hold. Don't put me on hold. I drive a 335i. Yeah, I'd consider moving out there, but it'd be tough to afford me. Let me just say that. Wow. How much do you miss the kid? Right now, not that much. Let me tell you something. What's good for the goose is good for the game. Amazing. San Diego gives me more reason to come out and hang out. No doubt. You see? He just got a place, you know. Yes. Yeah, but I'll probably stay with Mike if I could. When he was at the, let me tell you, he rolls very high class. He does. When they stayed at the W together, they were roommates at the W Hotel when they came out to visit San Diego once. and he got his own room because he couldn't deal with Woodsy snoring. Are you serious? Such a big timer, dude. Yeah, but wait, Mike. The best part of that story was that I tried to get back to the hotel room to go to sleep before Woodsy so that when he got there, I'd already be asleep, and his snoring wouldn't bother me. But I sweated it and stressed it so much that when the guy came in drunk, I woke up, and then I couldn't fall back asleep. So at 3.30 in the morning, I got up, went downstairs to the lobby, and then bought a room for the night.
Yeah, such a big timer, dude. It irritated you, right, Woodsie? Yeah, it was irritating. I don't blame him, though. I don't either. That would drive me nuts. The guy just likes to throw his money around, dude. Control yourself, snorer. Control yourself. I can't control my snoring. And after a few cocktails, it's even worse. And a pack of cigarettes. Here I am and I'm on vacation. I'd like a good night's sleep in a nice hotel. It's not going to happen that way. That's right. Sophisticated guy. I don't blame him. I was like going, Woody, please, roll over. Just shut up and let me sleep. How great is that? So best. Good to hear your voice, dude. We love you. We love you guys. Come visit. Later, brother. Come see us. All right, we'll see you. That's Bauman. I feel my heart is like calm now. Because you've heard him. I got to talk to him. Now you got to talk to him and you feel everything's good. Nice. Yeah, we were reading in the yesterday emails the stuff that everybody did yesterday. And it's just, it's fantastic what you guys are up to. I have everybody send me an email and tell me what they've been doing. By the way, not to pull the curtain back too much. Somebody walked by. Sienna believes that she is the boob whisperer. Oh, I am. She believes that she can tell if someone has had augmented breasts.
It's the easiest thing I've ever done. I'm terrible at it. I can't wait to see you. I'll actually need to touch, and then I can tell. I don't think people would let me touch, but maybe they would jump around, maybe skip. You can tell. You can tell. I can tell by just looking. You just like talking about boobs because your boobs are so big. I don't. I don't. I'm just... It's a creepy joke. I'm just saying it's a gift. I mean, I don't know. It's a gift. So all you need to do... is see the person in front of you and you can tell. I'm going to need to see a little cleavage. Really? A little. I don't mean I don't need to see them, but just a little wiggle and jiggle too. Yeah. Bras can be very deceiving. I've learned that. But rarely do I get it wrong. Hey, Mikey, I'm going to bring a trampoline in so we can test it out. That's okay. Do it. I got it here in the room. No, don't. Thank you. I'm on board. It's all right. Well, let's put you to the test. Boob whisperer. I'm ready. What we'll do is, and I don't want anybody coming in all, you know, hoochie mom it out. Me neither. Sure. Sure would. Disgusting smile. But what I'm saying is, is that if you feel that you have an ambiguous chest, then you can call us at 570-1949. And we'll have you come into the studio. Yeah.
If she guesses wrong, we'll give you a prize. If she gets it wrong, you get a prize. If I get it right, do I get anything? Sure. Pat on the back. Yeah, you get a big pat on the back. You get to hold your title as boob whisperer. That's right. That works. She says she never gets it wrong. No, I really don't. It won't be today. You won't be coming in today. But what if they lie, though? What if they're like, they're real? No, they'll tell you. You got to be honest. Got to be honest. She knows all about honesty. That's right. We're going to use the honor system. 5701949 if you would like to try to win a prize sometime later in the week. Sienna says she's a boob whisperer and she could tell. And, you know, you're not coming in here all, you know, hoochie mamad. You can if you want to. Well, whatever they feel comfortable with. Well, it ruins it if you come in. See, that's the thing. Like, if they come in and they're wearing something that's ridiculous, you know, and that's the other thing. It can't be, well, that's obviously breast augmentation. Don't come in in a parka either, though. Yeah, right. I'm going to need to see a little bit of the girls, okay? I'm going to need to see a little bit. Yeah, but I think you try to be as normal about it as possible. You don't want to be cheating. You don't want to have Sienna cheating.
And be willing to laugh about it, you know, if I do get it wrong. But I won't. Let's see. It's official that we have the dumbest criminal in San Diego ever. Yeah. Who is it? What happened? All right, there's this guy on Saturday. He's 43 years old. He decided it would be a good idea to rob an 83-year-old man right by the trolley station. Where were they? Yeah, Atkins Avenue and 62nd Street here in San Diego. Yeah. The robber apparently pinned this old guy against the wall, going through his pockets, trying to get whatever he had. When a guy walking by, an innocent bystander, walked up, socked the robber in the face. Really? Knocked him out, basically. Well, he didn't knock him out, but got him on the floor. And the robber was so mad that he called the cops on the innocent bystander for assaulting him. Unbelievable. Yes. What a dummy. So obviously the cops came and are like, what were you doing? You're not all there, buddy, because you were just robbing this poor old elderly man. Right. So yeah, he's in jail. 570-1949. Or you can text us. The text is 949mikey at gmail.com. 949mikey at gmail.com. P1 Leaf says, Mikey, so good to have you back on the radio. Met you a couple of times at church and wanted really bad.
And to hear you back. However, there were certain personalities. I want to read that. I want to say bad stuff. I am really digging your new show members, he says. Congrats. I want to say anything negative. And if you missed it earlier, I was explaining it earlier. In terms of us and the show that I left, I don't want to say bad stuff. I don't want there to be bad stuff said about me. I don't want there to be bad stuff said about them. I want peace. I just want peace. For sure. And this is the way that I think about morning radio. I think about it like it's a restaurant. And so basically, every morning we're going to put out a morning menu. And if you like the food here, you're going to eat here. And if you don't, you don't have to. You can listen to whatever you want to. But hopefully, once we get this thing rolling and it's really doing its thing, you're going to dig it. You're really going to like it.
There are five people on The Mikey Show, myself, Woods, Lauren, Sienna, and Jay. And some of the voices you will recognize. Sienna was on with me before I was very unceremoniously escorted to the door. Made my debut. That's right. And Jay was the promotion director over at the station that I left. Lauren I found on YouTube. She's very funny. It's so cool. And it's a cool story. Yeah, it is. And Woodsy, I've known for 10 years. And he has moved out here from Texas. Texas? Mm-hmm. I love this place, by the way. He absolutely loves it. Amazing. He refuses to wear his shirt untucked. Yeah. I can't get into the laid-back SoCal thing yet, man. It's just killing me. He's got to tuck it into the jeans with a belt. We need to get you a pair of rainbows. For real? Yeah. I mean, not today, but like when I went out the other night, I like had my shirt tucked in. People were looking at me like. With a belt. Yeah. Well, yeah, you wear a belt. I learned from Bauman. That's right. Bauman. Got to wear a belt. Bauman. Buckle. 570-1949 is the number. Give us a call. Okay. So I got an email here.
What do you think of this? And you can call about this, too, at the same number, 570-1949, and you can text us, 949Mikey at gmail.com. Mikey, I have been trying to stop drinking for a long time and feel I may even have a problem with it. I've been doing okay the past couple of months, but my girlfriend always wants to go out to bars and parties. Should I end a two-and-a-half-year relationship because my girlfriend doesn't respect the fact that I don't drink? Or want to be around it or talk about it. If you read this email on the air, don't say my name. So I'm going to call him P1 Anonymous. Well, see, my take on this is that you always tell people how you feel. It's always okay to tell people how you feel. It's not okay to tell people, you know, do this. Yeah, exactly. You tell them how you feel. It makes me really uncomfortable if it does. You know, my issue, because I'm a recovering alcoholic and my deal is, is that I'm going to be around it. I can't avoid it. It's everywhere. What do you guys think? I think if she's kind of rubbing your nose in it and doing it a little bit more and is not as understanding as she should be, then it's too hard for you. It's too hard for you and you shouldn't be around it. But I think that, yeah, you're going to be around it and faced with that struggle your entire life. You know, Mike, you had your deal in the past. And we were out to dinner and we had wine with Rebecca. And you didn't flip out about it. I mean, it's not him flipping out, but it's, you know.
It doesn't bother me at all to be around people that are drinking. And you're at that level. So maybe the emailer is not quite at that level where he's ready to be around it yet. Yeah, he says the past couple of months. So I would just say, hey, it makes me really uncomfortable. If she's not cool about it after you're saying it makes me really uncomfortable, that's just weird. It's probably not the right girl anyway, dude. It's disrespectful. It's a strange thing to do. It's a strange reaction to have. But she shouldn't have to drastically change her lifestyle because of your problem. Right. You know? But... No. Well, can't she still drink? Maybe she didn't do it in front of you. Exactly. Because it's going to make you feel weird. 570-1949 if you want to comment on that. If you've ever been through it. If you've ever had an issue with it. If you've ever had... You dated somebody. They quit. And then you're like, what am I supposed to do? Right. You know, Rebecca, my wife, doesn't... She doesn't drink that often in front of me, but when she does, it doesn't bug me. People can drink around me, but I've been sober for a while now. Even in the early days, I had to realize I've got to live life. It's going to be weird for me to go around and people... It's weird, too, even now because some people think that they can't, which is weird. I thought that the first time we had dinner. Jay showed up with a 12-pack. Yeah.
Yeah, Jay's drinking one right now. This shit was fine. Don't even worry about it. Straight from the wild turkey bottle. You're listening to The Mikey Show on FM 94.9. More of the Mikey Show on FM 94.9. Welcome back. It's the Mikey Show. Mikey Show is back on the radio. And oh my gosh, am I happy. I am so glad to be back on the radio. It took a little while to get my sea legs because we're working at a new radio station. But I'm stoked. FM 94.9. And we got it. We have an interesting phone call. This ought to be interesting. On line three, it's P1J. Are you there, Jay? Yes, I am. What were you calling to say? I was calling to say hello to Lauren, a.k.a. Jenny. That's right. You gave her her start. Oh, yeah. I know who this is. How are you? Good. I'm not going to say your last name over the air. That's okay. But he was like a talent guy or something? He was the director of that commercial, the Union Tribune commercial. Yeah.
that I saw of her. It's hysterical. She's hysterical. That's how I found her. I found her on YouTube. Thank you for calling, Jay. Appreciate it. Let's see. P1 Betty, are you there? So you're calling about this topic. Before we went to break, I just want to reset this. Before we went to break, we were talking about how this guy wrote in and said that he's been trying to quit drinking and his girlfriend wants to party and drink in front of him all the time and he's having a hard time with it. Right. So what do you think? I think that it's really... Just inconsiderate and disrespectful of her that she's not trying to help him with his problem. I mean, I've dated an alcoholic myself, a recovering alcoholic. And whenever we went out, I wouldn't drink just because, you know, solidarity. You want that person to succeed. And I would still drink when I would go out with my girlfriend. You know, I'd have a couple of drinks. We'd have fun. But when I was with him, I would stop just because I was with him. You know, he had this problem and I wouldn't want to be a temptation for him. Yeah, that's awesome. I get it.
That's very nice of you. You ought to be supportive. Yeah, yeah. It's very nice. Thank you for the call. Sure. 570-1949. And if you want to text us, 949mikey at gmail.com is how you can get a hold of us by text. So we talked about how my boy Woods, he's out here. He's loving being out here. 34 years old. His best friend was Bauman, who we just talked to a minute ago. And the thing about it is that now that he's out here, he kind of needs a new Bauman. Yeah, seriously. Get a bromance going for you. Kid's been real lonely. Need a wingman. That's right. Yeah, super important. You need a new wingman, right? I do. A broseph. I need a broseph. A bro nameth. Yeah, I need a bro nameth.
Needs his own personal brony Montana, okay? That's right. And so if you want to be that dude, we're going to do a little thing here where we try to make a bromance for Woodsy. It's great, too, because he met a friend of mine that he thought was a real cool guy. Yeah, and he's a Red Sox fan, and I'm a Yankee fan. I'm a baseball fan first, but I'm a Yankee fan. So immediately there was friction, but he actually called me to go out on Saturday. Things got a little out of whack, but we actually didn't end up. Getting together, but we are definitely going to hang out. He wants to play ball, too. Yeah, he's going to play baseball. He's a good, good guy. Yeah. Are you really going to get a baseball team together? I'm not getting it together. I'm just going to join an existing team. You should let me know. Todd will probably play, too. Yeah, I'd love to play with Todd. Except he's in the minors, but, you know. Easy, big time. We get it. Your boobs are huge. Yeah, you're just trying to tell us that your boobs are huge. I didn't. I'm just letting you know that he was in the minors, so he may take you. What team did he minors? The Brewers. Really? Yeah. That's awesome. You being serious? No, I'm being serious. Yeah, when he finished high school, he was recruited. Your fiancé? Yeah. What position? Centerfield. So back in 79, when he graduated high school. He's a bit older than me. He just had the big 38th birthday last week. Nice. Older than the kid. He's older than the kid. That's right. That's right. But, yeah, you know what I mean?
He may not have the same skills he used to have, but... Wow. Few of us do. Few of us do. I'm still proud of him. Oh, that's really sweet of you. I know. Very nice. 570-1949. Yeah, so we're taking applications for the guy's new partner in crime. Yeah. You want to be a new partner in crime? You know what we'll do? We'll set you up on a bromantic date. Perfect. We'll go to where? We'll send you guys to Dave and Buster's. You know? Is he going to be seven years old? East Village Tavern Bowl. Have you ever been there? That's a good place. It's a bar with a bowling alley in it. Done. Done and done. Downtown. I'm in. Yeah. We're going to do a bromance for our bro, Woodsy. Do I get to pick? Sure. No, we get to pick. He's fun. He's a lot of fun, Woods. Who, me? Yeah. I'm a fun guy. If you like to go out and just have a good time. Cry. He really likes the notebook. The good time guy. Lauren, what were your first thoughts of Woodsy? You're different. The two of you are very different. Yeah, but I love him. He's a big teddy bear. Literally a big teddy bear. People are telling me that I look like Kevin James. Amazing. I love Kevin James. He's like, yeah, Paul Blart. He's my new celebrity lookalike.
Welcome to San Diego, kids. Enjoy. You do not look like Paul Paul. No, I don't see it at all. It's because of this camera thing. It makes you look horrific. This camera is freaking me out, man. I can't look at it. It adds 10 pounds on you. It adds 30. I've got four cameras on me. Is yours on right now, Mike? I don't know. Should I grow a mustache? It's so depressing. Should I grow a mustache to look just like Paul Blart? That's awful. You should. Can you start wearing a UPS uniform or something? What is he wearing? Yeah, he does. Yeah, the brown. I used to be so handsome back in the day. You are handsome. You are handsome. Stop it. Terrible. Stop it. But here's the deal. Like, Lauren is a very... liberal, Democrat, she said, right? Yes. And I think very good manners. Yes. I think you have very good manners. It's classy, elegant. Yeah. Keep it coming. Come on. But she had no problems when Woodsy reached over and grabbed an empty bottle that she had and just started spitting tobacco in it. That was my bottle. She was fine. I was wondering where the bottle went. It's gone. I have two brothers. Two older brothers or younger brothers? Both. Older and younger.
I've got, like, 87 cousins. There's, like, a couple Joeys in there. Yeah, how many... Okay, so you come from a family of four or five? There's five kids in my family. Five kids. You're the middle kid. Yes. Yeah. From Jersey. Yeah. She's from New Jersey. Joey and Danny and Bobby and Frankie. You just named... Those are actually all of my children. Yes. How come you don't talk like you're... How come you have an accent? What are you talking about? Yeah. You can throw it on if you want. I love it. Yeah, I can turn it on. You can do it if you want. Yeah. Did you used to talk like that? I don't think I ever quite talk like that, but I went to school down in Virginia as well. And so that was a real fun game for the first year. It was like, say this, say that, weirdo. Yeah. But you can turn it on if you want. Oh, yeah. We have a conversation with you as a girl from New Jersey. Yeah, absolutely. What part of New Jersey are you from? From South Jersey, like closer to Philadelphia. Yeah. Yeah. What kind of guys do you like? What are you attracted to? Guidos. Really? You like guidos? No, no, no. Do you like brunettes or do you like blonde guys? I typically go for the darker haired guys. Yeah? I thought I was still talking to Jersey Girl. What happened to Jersey Girl? I turn it off. Yeah? Turn it on, turn it off. You can do it however you want. Yeah. 570-1949 is our number. You can text us at 949mikey at gmail.com. It's very easy. Let's see. Josh, are you there?
Yes. What's going on? Not much, man. I've waited for, ever since I heard the announcement you were coming to 94.9, I couldn't wait to call in. Aw, dude, what's up, man? Nothing. I just wanted to actually tell you, you single-handedly ruined San Diego Radio. I can't wait to tell you that. Aw, brother. Hey, listen, listen. You're like a cancer. You start in one spot, and now you're spreading. Well, talk to me about it. Talk to me about why you feel that way. Why do you feel that way? Well, here's the deal, man. And I'm glad that you called, and I'm glad that you said that. I would say this. You could have been honest. You could have said that you wanted to say bad things, and I would have put you on the air, Josh. That is the truth. That's a true statement. But what you said was that you wanted to say that you were a fan of the show. But it's OK, man. Hey, listen, can I have a conversation with you about it? Please do. First of all, I totally understand where you're coming from. I totally understand where you're coming from. If it were me, I would feel the same way. If I were listening to a station and I like the station because of the music and all of a sudden there was a talk show on, it would bother me. And so I completely understand where you're coming from.
So how about playing some music throughout your show? How about that? Well, here's the deal. Okay. I can't do that. I can't do that. And the reason that I can't do that is because it wouldn't be true to who... It's not true to who I am. The show has never been a music show. It's always been a talk show. But I want to explain to you why this happened. The reason that it happened is because for a long time, for seven, eight years, they were trying to do music in the morning. And it wasn't doing well, ratings-wise. After 10 o'clock, the ratings went way up. Everything was good. The ratings were really great. But before that, they weren't. And the ratings for the Mikey show have been very high. Number one, and the ratings are really great. That's why they decided to do it. But, dude, from just guy to guy, I understand where you're coming from. If you're a fan of the music, I would totally understand that. And I do understand that.
I will say this. I hope you give it a try, Josh. And it may be a deal where, to use the analogy, you're vegetarian and I'm like, hey, dude, try a hamburger. And you're like, I don't like meat, bro. You know, it may be that. And you just there's no way you're ever going to try it, consume it and enjoy it. But I want you to. It's more like like I like steak and I don't want hamburger because I'm a huge Howard Stern fan. So if I want to listen to. Talk radio. I'm going to listen to a real disc jockey and not some fake guy who just comes in here, comes in the picture, tries to make a buck and waste everyone's time. Brother, I will tell you this. The one thing that you're going to get from me is authenticity. I will not be fake. And if your perception of me is that I'm fake, that's just not true, dude. The one thing that, in fact, really, it's the one thing that I can tell you is just be honest with you. I've been honest with you through this whole thing. Now, you said you don't want something fake. but you lied to come on the radio. Well, because I knew you wouldn't take my call. Brother, I would take your call, and that's a true statement. In fact, we had a guy holding. Jay, what was his name? His name was Dan. Yeah, we had a guy named Dan that was holding that we were going to talk to, and the call went away. So I'm telling you the truth. I absolutely would have talked to you. You didn't have to lie to come on the radio. I would have talked to you. But what I'm telling you, man, is that, hey, listen, if you like Stern,
I can appreciate that. I do a very different show than Stern. But this is what's tough, man. What's tough is that, Josh, I don't know you. I don't even know if your name is Josh, if it really is Josh. It is. But I don't know you, man. And in the three minutes that we've gotten to know each other, I've tried to be kind to you. And you've hurt my feelings like bam, bam, bam. You just want to hate, hate, hate. Totally. And what I'm saying is, Like, imagine, do you have kids? Yes. How old are they? Three. I got a three-year-old, too. My son, Jake, is three years old. He's autistic, which is going to make it even tougher for him as he's growing up because he's autistic. And if somebody just instantly was like, bam, bam, bam, throwing hate at your kid, would it hurt you? Totally. And that's kind of where I am, man.
I want you to know that I'm going to be authentic and genuine and truthful with you. I'm not going to lie to you. I understand where you're coming from with the loss of the music. I really do. But two things. A, I would want you to give me a shot. And if after a little while you don't like it, I'd understand. No, I gave you a shot, I think, about five years ago. And I called in. There's two things that I didn't like what you said. Banging on Barry Bonds back in all those days. I'm a huge Giants fan because I'm from the Bay Area. Yeah. And you can appreciate that. Sure. I'm from Gilroy. So that kind of pissed me off. I held on. And then Hunter S. Thompson died. And you started ripping on Hunter S. Thompson saying, I remember what you were talking about, but that was it. Well, a couple things. A, five years ago, if you listened to me five years ago. A long time ago. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, I will tell you this. If it's been that long since you listened, I am a different guy. And in telling you that I'm a different guy, I'm going to tell you this right now. Dude, I am so sorry that I said stuff that bummed you out. And please forgive me. I'm really sorry I said stuff that bummed you out because it's not who I am anymore, man. I'm not a – I used to be real different. I used to try to be like Howard Stern.
And I was and back then I was totally fake and phony when I was trying to be like Howard Stern. I was totally fake and phony. But now what I can tell you that you will get from me now is just me. I'll tell you the truth. Like, I'm insecure. I'll tell you when, you know, I told you during this conversation, like you hurt my feelings. And I never used to do that. What I used to do is always just slam people back. And, you know, and so I I understand. where you are. Uh, I, I just want to tell you like extending my hand and just being like, dude, let's give this thing a shot. And if it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out. But I just want you to give me a shot, man. And, uh, you know, I guess I don't really have a choice now. Yeah. Yeah. And I get, I, dude, I totally understand, man. I'd be bummed. I'd be bummed too. If, if, if my thing was, I don't want to hear talk and, uh, I don't want to hear, I totally understand where you're coming from. All I'm asking you is, Don't hurt me. You know, that's all I'm asking. And all that means is that, and that's the thing, man. Like I was talking about that earlier. I am a fan of peace. I don't like fighting. I don't like hurting people. I don't like any of that stuff. I used to do it. And the reason that I used to do it is because inside I was a creep. You know, it's just who I was. And I'm not that anymore. And I understand that you're upset.
But all I'm asking is, A, give it a shot. And if you don't like that we're not playing music, just know that I understand that. But this is the job that I've been hired to do. Right. Well, do the best you can, I guess. Thank you, brother. I appreciate it. Thank you, Josh. And people, I mean, I will take the calls. In fact, there's a couple of them right now. And I absolutely will take the calls. And I'll explain it the best that I can. Andy, are you there? Yes, I am. Go ahead, man. All right. I made a few points here. Number one, this was not our choice. It just wasn't. We don't get to vote on how the radio station is run. Number two, and I'm sure you know this and you've heard it from other people this morning, I just tuned in about 20 minutes ago. So just getting to truly hear you and know who you are. 94.9 is a family. This isn't Kiss FM. This isn't some rap station. This isn't some. This is, I consider this Tommy and Garrett and all these guys, my brothers. I sit and listen to them. I call in. I talk to them. 94.9 is a family. Like I said before, I don't know you. And unfairly, I don't have a good image of you.
And I say unfairly because I don't know you. I just know of your image, like you said, from five, six years ago. And by the way, I just want to say something about that. I want to say something about that. There is nobody to blame for that but the guy I see in my mirror. And this is what I mean by that. You ever hear of these guys that go on the high-speed chases and then the cops beat them up? Oh, absolutely. And well, what I say about those guys that go on the high speed chases where the cops beat them up, I say if the cops abuse them, the cops need to be punished if they did something they weren't supposed to do. But I also say, you know who doesn't get beat up by the cops for taking them on a high speed run? My wife. And the reason that she doesn't is because she's not taking the cops on a high speed run that at the end of it, they beat her up. And so really, I have nobody to blame for the perception that you have of me except for me. I'm the one that put it there. It was in the past. It's not who I am anymore. But I understand that the perception is out there. And I also understand where you're coming from when you say, hey, this is a family. Because I have very quickly learned being here at 94.9 that you're 100% right. The good news is that Tommy and Hanson are still working here. In fact, Tommy is now on in the afternoons. You can hear him on in the afternoons.
And Hanson is the assistant program director here at 94.9. He's still here. In fact, Hanson has been instrumental in helping me learn the equipment, get going, get all the stuff working and all that stuff. And so I just want people that are fans of 94.9 that are listening this morning going, what is this? This isn't what I want. I get it. Like if it were me, I would be in the same place. And I understand also where you're coming from when you go, hey, man, we didn't have a vote in this. I totally understand that. I can understand the anger. I guess all I can ask of everybody is to not displace it, you know, by going, well, I hate you, Mikey, and you're a jerk, and you're a cancer, and you're a this, and you're a that. That is just flat out hurtful. And it's so unnecessary. It's just not necessary. But I do understand where you're coming from, Andy. And I hope that you do give me a chance because what you're going to hear here on this show is going to be very different in terms of talk radio. And what I mean by that is I think that there may have even been a couple of things that I've said during the last two minutes that you're a little surprised about. Well, here's my thing.
44 years old, so I am not against a little talk radio in the mornings. I'm not against any of that. Yeah, we like our music, but I don't want to hear another Howard Stern. That ain't me, dude. That ain't me. I don't want to hear... Yeah, man, that is not me. I don't want to hear coming from this radio station my image of you. Yeah, the image that you have is from my past. It is not... A lot of people think the image is Shock jock, whatever. Dude, couldn't be further from who I am now. In fact, the biggest thing about me is my faith. That's the biggest thing about me is my faith. And my faith changed my life. And so I think that if you listen to the show a little bit, you will see that I'm different. But the overall brand of the Mikey show is just funny.
You're just going to have a good time. You're going to feel like you're sitting there with five good friends hanging out, having a good time. I hope so. I hope so. I'm going to give you a chance. I'm going to miss the music, but you're like a visit from an uncle. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, I get it. It's like, hey, you know what? Just be mellow and come in here and be cool with everybody. And my last point is, and I say this because I love him to death and he knows it. I don't know if he's around listening or not. Do not listen to a thing that Tommy has to say. Oh, that's funny. That's funny. All right, brother. I'll see you, brother. All right, thank you. Thanks. That's really cool. That was awesome. Give it to me, and then we'll dial him up here. Tom, it's Mikey. I'm sitting here with Fish Tank. Let me guess. It's another bail me out of jail type thing, right? What is that? What are you talking about? I'm not at liberty to say. Well, let's just say Gush Tank used to have an affinity for brunettes and sapphires and tonic. Different time. You shut your mouth.
