Friday 2/5/2010
It’s official! M1 Nation is the new name for Mikey Show fans. The show starts off with talk of a first week under their belts, and then goes into an email by a chick who says she’s a real sports fan but her man is not into sports. Woods immediately questions the dude’s Man Card. Lew (Lou?) Bush, former NFL linebacker and Barbeque cook extraordinaire visits the studio and talks a about LT leaving the Chargers, food, and his NFL days. Mikey’s lovely wife Rebecca calls in to make fun of Mikey’s “Jar”. The Governator sings a song about Mikey’s “little brown hands picking strawberries”. All in all, the first week was a huge success, Mikey and Sienna carried themselves like seasoned professionals and Woods and Lauren made their mark with their talent. Jay, of course, remained so busy he never sat down. Mikey ends the great week with his first ever testimony on 94/9.

Well, how you doing? It's Friday, which feels good, and it's a Mikey show in business. And I'm wearing the t-shirt of where I went to elementary school. Wow. How old is that? It's not the actual one that I used to wear. You're a big kid. No, here's the deal. I met... You know, on Facebook, I saw this dude that I used to be in elementary school with. And at our elementary school, people were really into our elementary school. Why is that? I don't know. I guess they really loved the experience or something. School pride. School pride. What are you going to do? And so I saw him wearing a T-shirt and a picture of our elementary school. And I said, where? How? What?
How much? I don't care. Tell me. He goes, just give me your address. I'll send you one. It's huge. I said, send a couple. I'm chubby. It's awesome. Differing sizes. Differing sizes. You guys ever get anything in different sizes just to make sure? No. And then you take one back if it's not right? No. I'll take it back if it doesn't fit. I'll wear it, stink it up, and then take it back. Yeah? Yeah. That happens. We talked about that yesterday. Welcome to the program. It's a Mikey show. Five people on the program. You can see us all on a webcam. If you want to, go to MikeyShow.com. And it says watch live. You can watch us on camera. People really seem to love that. Except us. Yeah, except us. And, yeah, the fishbowl. And we got so much to talk about. We're going to tell you within seconds, we're going to be telling you what the M1 community is officially going to be known as. Because we got an answer. Exciting day. Yeah, people were voting on it until midnight last night. Boating closed at midnight. And so today we're going to spring it on you. We're going to tell you what the deal is. And we want you to be here because we're going to do it in a couple of minutes. You can call us too. The phone number here is 570-1949. 570-1949. And if you want, you can also text us. It's 949Mikey at gmail.com. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show. 39 years of age.
And shaved head. I put it that way because I think it sounds better than bald. So I say shaved head. It's real tough. Yeah. And Steve Woods is our sports guy. 34 years old. Got friends coming into town this weekend from Dallas. He's from Dallas. Actually, not from Dallas. No? No. I have a drummer friend that's flying in from Miami to record in L.A. And they're coming down for one night just to hang with your boy. There you go. Sounds like trouble. It may very well be. Do you notice that every time Woods talks about this friend that's coming to town, he's like, my friend is a rock star. My drummer friend. We get it. He's kind of a big deal. You think I'm one of a kind. This dude is like he's the greatest. Really? His name's Bobby McIntyre. He's phenomenal. Phenomenal, phenomenal guy. So very excited to see him and probably won't get to see him for a while. He lives a long way away. All right. It's going to be fun. We also have Lauren, who is 29 years old. She has blonde hair, but she's not your typical blonde. Doesn't really fit the stereotype, you know? No, sir. She is very heady, okay? What does that mean? Very heady? Smart. Smart. There you go, blondie. What does that mean? There that goes. I don't understand that.
And then you got Sienna, who's 24. Yes. And Sienna is very bubbly. You absolutely love her. She's from La Jolla. LJ. Mm-hmm. She's from La Jolla. She rolls very highbrow. Yes, she does. Okay. She's the Bauman of this program. She really is. The female Bauman. That's right. I like to have a good time. Yeah. Bauman is Wood's best friend that he left behind in Dallas, who's also very, you know, a high-class guy. Yeah. She thinks he is. And then Jay is our executive producer. Yes, sir. And he is in another room separated by glass. A little will. And he does a little bit of everything. Everything. Everything. 570-1949. Phone line's open. You can call at the beginning and end of every show about anything you want to. So now's the time to give us a call. Want to let you know that the Mikey Show listeners are known as M1s. And it is official. They are now going to be known as the M1 Nation. How do you like that? I like it because that was my choice. You like M1 Nation? Yeah, that was my choice. Sweet. Wait, was it your choice? Yeah. I didn't hear you say it like 17 times. Both of you get. I'm not in the mood today. Okay, I'll try to be nicer today. Kid barely slept last night. I was...
Just worried about just getting filleted coming in here again. It's in his recap email. Yeah, it is. Steve says in his recap email, he says, yeah, another interesting day on the air yesterday. Got filleted by the female co-workers and listeners. A little marinade on there. It was just fun. I guess the gloves are coming off. They're not. It's just so easy to do. You're a target kid. They were really beating on the kid yesterday. I had emails and calls from people. My mom was upset. Because why are they so mean to you? With your product usage? No, she was upset that I was getting picked on. Mrs. Woods, you know your son, Steven, and he deserves it. No, I do not. I don't want to hear that. I say he doesn't. And you know what else? You want to know what else? What? I think the kid was picked on when he was a kid. I was. Did you guys know that the kid was bullied? But he was the bully also. No way. I've never bullied anybody. Swear to God. Never. I'll make fun of you behind your back, but I won't bully you. That's true. Okay? I will not bully you. I've got a list. I've got two guys on this list, and I will get to this list one day. Yeah. Yeah. They made my life a living hell in like seventh and eighth grade. It's terrible. I'm going to get them. They're going to get got, dude. Let me tell you. Bullies are the worst, man. They're going to get got. Bullies are the worst. Just out of nowhere one day. Well, you know in the end. They get it.
Oh, yeah. They're going to get it. Trust me. You get us all the time. Trust me. Oh, jeez. I'm so scared. You should be. M1 Nation, call us 570-1949 or text us 949mikey at gmail.com. And, again, it's anything you want to talk about. One of the things that I think is huge today is front page of the UT. It's LT. And all I know is I come in and I see on the cover of the UT today, it says, I'm not coming back. It's a picture of LT walking off the field. Yep. And it says, I'm not coming back. Wow. What is that? Dude, he's in that kind of running back purgatory, man. He's got two years left on his deal, but he's due a $2 million roster bonus on March 5th. And then his total salary. in 2010 would be $5 million. So with Sproles coming up, it's just kind of easier to just kind of cut bait right now. Wow. So we have a little audio. Let's check it out. About that. Check it out. Now as LaDainian Tomlinson understands the reality that he's no longer going to be a San Diego Charger in the next couple weeks, he now has to face the possibility it's even going to be harder to find a job opportunity.
Certainly he's had a Hall of Fame career and has had a career where certainly he can be so valuable not only as a player but as a leader. But the problem is not many teams are looking for running backs in their 30s. And now he faces the same situation like Sean Alexander two years ago and, of course, what faced Edger and James last year. He almost has to wait for an injury to get a job opportunity. It's a tough reality for running backs, but even though your Hall of Fame career has been great, it doesn't translate into jobs in the 2010 season. Dude, I can't believe that I'm hearing LT being mentioned in the same category as Edger and James. And Sean Alexander. And Sean Alexander, guys that just went poof. He's shooting himself in the foot. Really? Yeah. I mean, the thing with him, too, is that... So he'll get a shot somewhere. Somewhere. Somebody will hire him. You know what I mean? But like they said, he may have to wait until somebody gets hurt. Yeah, well, he won't be a starter. And he, I mean, I don't know. He's been here so long. He's been an MVP. I mean, the guy was the best player in football for years. So it's going to be tough, man. It's a tough situation for athletes when they hit that, like we talked about yesterday, when they hit that wall. They hit the wall. They hit the wall. It's got superpowers, though, man. Like Danny and Tomlinson. You know what will happen, I think?
A lot of these guys, they have what I call the pride year. Yeah. So they will come back to another team, and they'll have at least another great season. Yep. Because they want to prove to the world that they can still do it. It's out of spite, too. Sure. I think that, you know, I still think Daniel Tomlinson is a talented guy. Well, they changed their whole plan last year, man. They were slinging the ball everywhere. And, you know, he didn't get the carries and didn't get, you know, as many yards as he would have liked. Still scored a lot of touchdowns, I think. But, you know, that's a tough thing, man. He's an icon in the city. Oh, people are going to freak out. I've heard that, like. I don't know. Sienna's like, just go. No, no, no, no, no. I've just heard that the team unity off the field with LT is not very good because of him. A lot of times they'll look to the quarterback as the leader, and some people look to LT, and it's just like people don't know on the team. I've just heard all kinds of things like that. If he was gone, then it would be a lot more clear, and everyone would be a lot better off. 570-1949. I just don't want to see LT go. Right.
You want to see him playing somewhere else? That's the hard part. Oh, my goodness. That's the hard part. He's the Derek Jeter of the Chargers. If Jeter went to play somewhere else, it would kill me. Because he's getting older, little boy. It happens. Makes too much money. Yeah. When the people get older, the things that happen... I know. I know. I know. I know it. But you can't just sit... No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. It's okay. It's okay, dude. It's not going to change anything either. You can sit there and scream about it all you want, but... Is this real life? Yeah. Yeah, it is. Real life is tough. Real life is tough sometimes. It is, man. Little fella. 5701949. I bet you Jerry Jones would give him a shot, even though we've got three running backs down with it. Of course he would. They'd love to have him anyway. Of course he would. Oh, my gosh. What would this city do if the Raiders took... Oh, my gosh. Oh, that almost made a throw-up happen in my mouth. McFadden and Tomlinson in the backfield? Let's not even talk about it.
Yeah, that hurts too much. Let's not even talk about it. That's bothering me to talk. Let's move on because it's bothering me to talk about it. I don't like that. What's the deal with Sarah Palin and the taxes and the cabins and the... Look at Woods. Instantly gets a big grin on his face. You don't like Sarah Palin? She's deplorable. I like her. He's a liberal. I like her. Listen. I think that Sarah Palin... As an idiot? No, I don't think that she's an idiot. I think that the liberals did a very good job of painting her as an idiot. I think she did that on her own. I think she did it pretty good. No, no, no. Everyone makes their little comments that it's like, oh, probably shouldn't have said that. But, you know, she's a great public speaker. She really is. For the most part, she is great. She's just an everyday gal. There you go again. Yeah, she's an everyday gal. I like to say things before I think about it. Her voice cuts through my brain like nails. It's the worst. It's pleasant. The worst thing about Sarah Palin is there's a little parking meter maid in my neighborhood that looks exactly like Sarah Palin, and it makes me hate her even more. Really? I mean, she's kind of hot, actually, but I just don't like her policies. What'd she do? Well, records show that she has not paid any property taxes on a couple cabins that she has in the back country of Alaska.
And these cabins, I thought it was kind of interesting. The only way you can get to them is by a float plane. I don't even know what that is. Who even cares if you play taxes on that? Or a snowmobile. But anyway, yeah, she apparently isn't up on her property taxes, so there's a story out about it. These cabins are on Safari Lake. Oh, boy. Yes. I'm going to chill out. Oh, now look. Everybody's upset him again. He just keeps saying stuff that's upsetting the little guy. Is that one of her nine grandkids? That's right. Just one grandchild. M1 Steelers fan, are you there? Yeah, that would do me. You're calling a comment on LT? Yeah. I'm a diehard Steelers fan, and we pretty much went through the same thing that you guys were going through with Jerome Bettis. He got injured. I mean, that's the thing with running backs. They just keep getting injured, and it just piles up, piles up. But as soon as you count them out, they will have one last great season. And he took us to the Super Bowl. You know, I'd really sit down and consider it that he's not someone that you want to get rid of. Dude, there's no doubt in my mind. He comes back. He'll have another great season. Probably one more. Yep. Probably have one more great season. I appreciate it. It's M1 Steelers fan. You guys hear the controversy about what NBC served at the company cafeteria for Black History Month, and it's a real story. It's not a joke. It's for real. Can't wait. And, you know, everybody just needs to calm down with this story.
You know, you can meet the Mikey Show if you want to by going to MikeyShow.com. We got videos and blogs and bios and all that stuff. Good friend of mine stopped by the studio. I'm good to go. Lou, it's just like old times, man. I know. It's nice to see you in here. So nice. It's nice to see you in here. And, you know, for those of you that do not know,
Lou is a former San Diego Charger and played in the Super Bowl, in the 94 Super Bowl, right? Yeah. I was just revisiting that blowout yesterday. Still watching game film? Still watching game film? No, I was actually having lunch and was talking, it's the Super Bowl, who do you think is going to win? And it just came out of nowhere like, ah. Well, hopefully they show up better than you guys did. Wow. Isn't that great when people tell you your business? Yeah. You just look at them like, oh, yeah. How was your Super Bowl that you played in? Was that good? Was that fun? How was that Pop Warner Super Bowl you had? Glory days, guys. That's awesome. So, Lou, what do you make of this? Front page of the UT today, man. I'm not coming back. LT says, I'm not coming back. What's your take, man? You know, I... It's just it happens to all of us, and it's unfortunate, especially with a guy. You know, you always hope that he could finish here. And, you know, you think about it, $5 million for all he's given his team, is that a lot of money for him? No. I mean, to give him one more year, I just think I want a guy like that to get a ring. So I just hope an opportunity, you know, if it's a Dallas, you know, I heard you coming in, you're talking about, you know, a team that's going to be close that's going to give him a shot.
I hope he gets a chance. Even in New England. He'd be a perfect fit for a system like that. They try to bring Fred Taylor and get something out of him, but it's hard because of your ego. Can you imagine that, him in New England? Oh, my goodness. No, I don't have to think about it. See, that makes your guys' stomach turn. I can't even imagine him anywhere, though. That's the thing. And if he does go somewhere, I agree with Lou. Like, I don't want it to be a team that isn't a contender because I just want to see the guy. Personally, for him, I want to see him get a ring. You don't want him in Buffalo. No, man. Oh, please don't do that. Dying up there. Oh, that would be terrible. Freezing. Oh, my goodness. He couldn't do that. It was like when Emmitt went to the Cardinals. It was awful. What are you doing? Let it go. You know, I just think he's too smart to kind of. ruin his legacy with that. Don't go somewhere like that. Lou, you know how they say when a running back hits 30, 30 is the magic mark? Like after 30, it kind of goes downhill. You were a linebacker. Is there an age for linebackers? You know, it just depends. It just depends on what kind of system you're in. I think in today's game, it's a whole different ballgame. I think because of how the rule changes and you can play longer.
They don't want you to play. I mean, it's a funny, it's a business. I mean, you've got to remember. So they're more into, okay, if I can get 10 years out of this guy, you won't see guys getting past 10. I mean, it's a rarity now. You used to see long careers, 10, 12, 13, 14 years. You're not going to see a whole lot of Ray Lewis's anymore. Because there's so many guys standing in line that they can plug in. I don't want to say it's an easier game, but it's easier than it used to be because it's more like grass basketball. Everybody's throwing the ball around. Well, and they got just interchangeable parts. You know what I mean? And they're shuffling in D linemen. They're shuffling in linebackers. It's more specialized. It's like baseball. You know, you got your fifth inning guy, your seventh inning guy. It's the same thing. Lou Bush is hanging out in the studio. He said one of the coolest things, and this is great for all you dads that have kids that are playing in Pop Warner or you're teaching your kids stuff. because when I was growing up, nobody ever taught me how even the game of football was played. My dad never sat down with me and said, here's how football works. I figured it out on my own, basically watching football games on TV. That was my experience. And so I was asking Lou, I said, you know, for my boys, I want to know what to teach my boys. Lou played at the professional level. I said, Lou, did you ever teach your kids?
how to hit you know as a as a tackler what did you tell your kids about hitting do you remember what you said lou i got hit the head a few times you have to remind me i'm sorry well i won't forget it lou said you never take your eyes you never close your eyes yeah see what you hit yeah he said solid yeah he said when you're when you're about to make contact he said do not close your eyes Keep your eyes open as you're making contact. And that stuck with me. Like, I don't know why, but that just. Mike, you'd be amazed. Pros, they close their eyes. I mean, you can tell because when they get to that moment right before. And it's just one of those things. I mean, my first coach told me, he was like, don't. You got to see what you hit. If you can always do that, just force yourself to keep your eyes open. And it's almost like you get over the fear of the contact. Like Singletary. Yeah, because now you've run through things. It was a fear thing. You kind of get over it. But it's just amazing when you're getting ready to make contact, a lot of guys just step home. They tighten up. Yeah, it's like that. It's like being in a car accident, just relax. You know, that kind of thing. When you were coming out of college, what was it that was your, what was it that coaches saw in you that they said, this is what makes Lou special? I played four different positions in college. Really? I played defensive in my senior year. I played outside linebacker, inside linebacker, and this, like, strong safety rover position. I just, I was very versatile. Right.
And I could run. I could fly. That was my, you know, always being able to run fast. You were fast. Yeah. I always wanted to be fast. I'm so slow. I am so slow. You can't just get fast. You're bored of it or you're not. Exactly. I don't know, though. If you put some potato salad in front of me. Run. I can go really fast through it. Well, it's awesome to have Lou hanging out and just to see you again, man. Lou and I talked. after everything happened with the old company with me. And Lou is just so... I will never forget the day talking to you. Thank you. I'll never forget that day talking to you. Well, I didn't know. I mean, I've been so kind of, you know, getting in a little bit of what I've been doing. I mean, I completely changed everything. Yeah, let's talk about that. So, Lou, people don't know this about Lou. Lou's... Lou cooks, okay? I can smell the food he brought in. What did you bring in? I just did something simple. Just some chicken wings. I smoked them with pecan. It's the biggest bowl of chicken wings I've ever seen. Best job you've ever seen. I'll never bring you a cup of wings. That's a great man. Look, he has a huge pitcher of sauce. How was it? Amazing. I'm salivating.
has secrets, okay? Now, my favorite thing, my favorite thing I think that you do is those, are they pickles? Oh, the cucumbers, yeah. The cucumbers, like, okay, so check this out. So I can't stand cucumbers, right? Which is weird. I can't stand cucumbers and I can't stand cantaloupe. Both of them, both of them to me are like rotten, you know? Ew. But, Lou makes these cucumbers himself. It's the greatest thing I've ever had. I can't get enough of it. It's like you pickle them, basically. They're really good. They're tangy, they're sweet, they're this, they're that. I love cucumbers. But anyway, Lou, he's the best cook. Thank you, bro. He really is. How'd you get into cooking? My grandmother. Living with my grandmother. My grandmother used to say when I was growing up, A woman will never get you because of your stomach. So you're going to learn to cook. All the guys in our family can cook. Thank you. Love it. So good, dude. He's always a big fan. Nice of you to get yourself a plate, Woods. Thanks for offering. What are you, a foot away? Come on. Lou would bring in food, and he'd bring in this different stuff. And it was like every single thing you had, you were like, my mouth and brain can't take it.
Uh, so what are you doing now? You're not, are you not doing this? No, you know, I got to the, the, the agency, the, uh, your former employer, you know, just, I, I, I got to the point with radio and, and just, I had all these things that I was doing and, you know, played around in another restaurant a little bit, just did all these. And I was like, you know what? I need a career. I need to do something where I'm getting up with, with, with a true motive every day to go do something. I found an interest. I got a good friend who's in the spine and ortho business and got me involved with that. I've been in, like, boot camp for the past two months having to learn spinal anatomy. Wow. But I get to sit in on these surgeries, and I've seen some nasty. Is that hard to get used to? You know, at first I thought I was going to be, I was like, because I've seen some really, really nasty, like, where they've removed. And, I mean, you've removed running backs' heads from their shoulders. There is nothing like seeing the body opened, though. Yeah, it's different, right? But the second time, second or third time, I was kind of cool because you get, because now you know what's going on and you kind of, it's amazing what they do in the surgery. And they're so casual. I mean, they're in there like the anesthesiologist. They got their phones. And, I mean, it's like we're sitting around here. Chatting it up. Yeah, we're sitting around in here. And they're just all.
You love the wings. That's so good. That's the best thing ever, right? So good. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, so I've been doing that for the past couple months. So are you going to be a chiropractor? No, no, no, no, no. I'm pretty much a sales rep. You're going to sell. Yeah, sell it. So I sell the spinal hardware, the stuff and the biologics and stuff like that. Some good coin in that field, man. Yeah, it's amazing. It was hard to get into. It took some time, but, you know, it was just one of those. Funny story with that. Really? But I'll tell you that another time. But, yeah, it's been fun. It's been cool. I will tell you this. In terms of the cooking, my birthday a couple years back, my wife said, you know, what do you want? Anything you want. I said, Lou Bush, Lou Bush, Lou Bush, Lou Bush, Lou Bush. Because nobody does it like Lou. I will come out of retirement just to cook for this man. That's serious. Amazing thing, man. Incredible. Amazing thing. But he's just, you know, you're always fun to talk to. You are one of them. You know what I always appreciate about Lou? And it's what I'll appreciate about anybody. In fact, when I was putting together the crew that I have now, this was the thing that I had in mind. It's the same element that I love about Lou. He's real. Yeah. The real dude. You talk to Lou, you're going to get the real deal. And I always appreciate it. These wings, by the way, are amazing. Incredible. Thank you. My first bite. Now.

And it is the Friday before the Super Bowl. And Lou Bush is in the studio with us. I love Lou, man. Lou, in addition to being... A guy that's played in a Super Bowl. Amazing. For the San Diego Chargers. A guy who makes the most incredible barbecue in the history of barbecue. I think the hot wings are bigger than the Super Bowl, actually, as far as I'm concerned. They're pretty good. Thank you, brother. When he came over to me. I've eaten 12. Yeah, when he comes over, he goes, dude, I think I've eaten 12. It's 6.30 in the morning, dude. It's a beautiful thing, man. I think I've had 12. Oh, my God. I'm, like, sweating over here. Yeah, it's awesome.
But the other thing that I credit Lou Bush with is that Lou has actually, without knowing it, saved a lot of marriages because he told me about a book that I've told a gajillion people about. Beautiful. It's called Love and Respect. And as a matter of fact, I think it's actually one of the things in my, if you go to MikeyShow.com and you click on Help. Under recommendations, under books that I recommend, Love and Respect is there. Nice. And it's by a guy named Emerson Egricks. And it's a brilliant concept. And Lou said it's amazing. It's just absolutely amazing. Here's the concept. Dudes need respect. Women need love. Doesn't mean that women don't need respect and men don't need love because we do. It's just that those two things for men and women. They key in on those things and they sort of interpret those things differently. For a dude, if you tell a guy, if you say to a guy, if you're a woman and you say to your dude, man, you look good. It does something for us, you know, in that sort of respect way. It does something for us, you know. And conversely, you leave a little note under your lady's windshield wiper like you did when you were courting her that says. Courting.
Yeah. When you were courting her. In the 1500s. When you first met that gorgeous Amish girl that you're dating right now. When you were courting her, you left lovely little notes. When you were knighted. Yeah, when you were knighted, remember? Well, remember when you were first courting her and you would leave a note on her butter churning dish, you know, where she would churn the butter. I remember those days. When you'd get the river scrubbing clothes. Exactly, when she was scrubbing clothes on the rocks. Yes. No, but it really is a great book. And Lou actually turned me on to it. And it's fantastic. It's cool, man. I mean, it's the love. I think even the title says the love, the respect he needs and the love she desires or something like that. And it's just that it's our language that I think that no one really kind of talks about. And in the book, he talks about the crazy cycle, how you're getting denied the respect you need. So in defense of that, you deny her the love she needs. And you just kind of go back and forth about, you know. It's lame in terms, and it's really, you know, it made final. It was one of the first things I read where I just went, wow, this makes sense. This makes sense. I was like, baby, read this. It'll work. She's like, get away from it. I'm really impressed that you read that first. I know. And she didn't say, babe, you need to read this. You need to read this. Have you read the book yet? Have you read the book yet? Yeah. That's awesome. Yeah, as long as, yeah, we know how that goes. You'd be in trouble. What time is it? She'll turn the radio on. That's awesome.
Anyway, it is good stuff. Now, everybody has heard of the iPad. The iPad is a new device from Apple, and it basically works like a very large iPhone. That's the way that the device works. And a lot of people are saying to themselves, well, what am I going to do with this product? Well, one of the things I think that people don't realize is that there's also a Mikey product called Mapple. You're quite the inventor. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And we got a good product, too. Senior Vice President of Mapple Design, Simon Kirkland. When Mapple first took a look at the iPoddy, our thoughts were, most of us at one time or another have had to go potty. But the problem is, it's often inconvenient. And that's why we created one simple, sleek device that would eliminate the need to ever go potty again. With just one simple, totally aluminum, totally environmentally friendly, completely wireless device. Introducing iPoddy. Head of iPoddy marketing, Pam Cartwright. I love this product for so many reasons, but most of all, ease of use. I have four kids. I work long hours here at Mapple, and to be honest, I just don't have time to potty. This product changed all of that. Wirelessly.
The design is completely aluminum, and it's shaped like a small toilet tissue roll. Now, our first thought with it was, how do you design a product, obviously, that can completely bypass human function? And then it hit us. You do it wirelessly. The first time I downloaded the program, I just thought, no more potty. It was just this incredible weight lifted off my shoulders. We were also concerned, obviously, with leaving a positive carbon footprint, and that meant getting rid of the need to go potty, but it also meant creating a much more green product. Now, obviously, we eliminate gas emissions, but we also created a product that could potentially eliminate the need for things like rest,
or bathrooms completely, which is one more positive move in staying environmentally friendly. This product manages various third-party applications, allows me to surf the web, stay connected on social networking, all without the need to go potty. And it does it all wirelessly. iPotty, revolutionizing the way you do your business. Sounds like a great product. I love doing one of those. I want one. Road trips, how nice. That's right. Anytime you need it. Changing the world. Changing the world. There you go. I'm using one now. Yeah, are you? Yeah. You got the new iPod he downloaded? He's not allowed out of his well. That's right. If you want to, you can call us, 570-1949. You can text us, 949mikey at gmail.com. And you're probably going to want to after hearing this email. Hi, Mikey and gang. I'm so excited for the Super Bowl this weekend. We're hosting a huge party at my house. I'm originally from Shreveport, Louisiana, so I'm a longtime Saints fan, and I've been following Drew Brees since his days at Purdue. Problem is, my husband is not a football fan at all. In fact, he could care less about professional sports in general. He's getting really bent out of shape with how psyched I am about the big day. I showed him the Brees jersey.
that I just bought. Wow. And he rolled his eyes and said, oh, great. Now I've got my daughter really into the Saints and following sports, which seems to further infuriate him. Should I be hiding my excitement or ashamed at how... Lou is incredulous over here. I can't believe it. Where is this guy from? Jabronyville. From London. Oh my goodness. Says, this is just how I grew up. And all that I know, why does it feel so wrong? Thanks in advance. That's M1NOLAGirl. 570-1949. Or if you'd like, you can text us, 949Mikey at gmail.com. Well, first of all, every guy I think loves a girl that loves sports. Right? No. Likes sports. Likes sports. Well, that's a good point, Woodsy. Likes.
There's a fine line. Okay, there's two different girls, Lou, because Lou's got opinion. I want to hear it. I know, I'm dying to hear his. Oh, boy. Okay, there's a couple different girls, though. There's the girl that loves sports and loves to watch the game with you and loves to, you know, you're not into her? No, no, that's okay. She's okay. Love your sport, but can you do it over there? I want to watch my game. My wife loves, she'll watch the game, watch the Lakers, whatever. But I can't watch the game with my wife. Because she'll be like, you know, what about... What do you want for dinner tonight? I'm kind of feeling like chilling. I'll go upstairs. I'll watch it on a little, not even HD. Just because I want to be by myself. That's probably wrong. No, it isn't. It isn't wrong. And let me tell you, I think that there's a couple of kind of sports fan gals. And I want to find out what kind we have here in the studio with Lauren and Sienna. But there are a few different types of sport fan gals. First of all, you have the pink jersey girl. I hate the pink jerseys. You don't like the pink jerseys? No, there's no football team or baseball team or basketball team that has pink anywhere in their uniform. Okay. Now, pink jersey girl usually has a certain... Hotness. No.
Yeah. Swagger. Swagger. Yeah. Okay, but there could be the other type of sports fangirl, which is like overdoing it sport fangirl. What about the in-between? Wait, we'll get to her. But the overdoing it sport fangirl is the one that like wants to like... She talks about, she overdoes it to the point where we're like, we get it. She's giving you stats. She's talking about schemes and what are they going to run. And like stuff that even guys don't even talk about. Well, and usually she's wrong. That's the thing. It's like, you know, maybe she is, maybe she isn't, but you just want to go, I get it. You like. Over-impressing. You're over-impressing me. I understand that you like football and that you understand the sport. Like, okay. They're running cover too. Then that's, it's not really working. Right, right. Did you read that on the internet? Yeah. She's like, well, you know, it just depends on what kind of gaps they're going to be running and are they going to protect that A-gap or what are they going to... And you're like, all right, come on. Okay, now what if I call something out and I'm like, oh, that was a pass interference. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's fine. That means you kind of know what's going on. That's what a guy would do. A guy would go, that's pass interference. But you're at a baseball game with some girl and she's like...
Peavy's really going to a slider too much. You're like, oh, my God. Only the basics. We can only talk about the basic stuff, and we can't talk about it very much. Why don't you talk like a dude would talk, like when the girls are overdoing it. What kind of sports fan are you? I like football. Baseball's boring. You like tailgating. I like tailgating. The thing is, this is me. Todd, my fiance, obsessed, and he's like Lou. Just will not keep his eyes off the TV. You know, commercials is when we talk. And I know the rules. I'm cool. I just sit with the little snacks and I munch. And I watch and I yell sometimes. But, you know, like, whatever. I keep food in my mouth. I could be in lingerie with a T-bone steak around my neck. And Matt will not take his eyes off the Steelers. He's like, huh? What? What kind of sports fan girl are you, Lauren? I know about the sport. I grew up watching it. I have brothers, uncles, dad, everything. And so I know enough about it, but I could never look at a playbook and tell you anything. Do you get excited? Now, because Matt likes the Steelers, you like the Steelers now. No, I like the Eagles. Well, I like the Chargers, too, but the Eagles are my number one team. I grew up out there. We both have big Steeler fans. Todd's huge. I forgot about that. Okay, so let's say that the Eagles are in the Super Bowl.
You know, you'd obviously be really into it. I'd be wearing my Westbrook jersey, yeah. You have a jersey. I do. I don't even have a jersey. You'd be wearing your what jersey? My Brian Westbrook. Yeah, you'd be wearing your Westbrook jersey. Okay, that's cool. I think that's fine. Now, when the game is on, are you loud girl? I'm mediocre. I can't stand loud fans. I won't go to an Eagles bar and watch the game because I can't stand over the top. in my ear screaming while I'm trying to watch the game. I can no longer go to public places when the Irish are playing or when the Yankees are playing like in the playoffs because I literally got in a fight during the playoffs this year when the Yanks were playing with a friend. With a friend. And then when Notre Dame's on, yeah, when Notre Dame's on, I sit at the house. I might as well just watch it in a closet. Well, you're probably crying though. Well, yeah. Of course. Let's be real. I'm just ripping my shirt off. I'm like, it drives me batty. Here's my wife. My wife is you know, born and raised San Diego, loves the Chargers, and I can't wait for the game. I can't wait for the game. And then the game comes on. That's classic, dude. That's classic. She just had twins. Give her a break. That's true. She's exhausted. We'll have people over. This is what gets me. We'll have people over. We're going to watch the game, okay? We're going to watch the football game. Why do the ladies sit with us and that's when they want to talk? They want to talk. And I go, I'm going,
It's not just the ladies that do it. Some people will come to what they know as a football party and they want to talk about, how's your job going? We're watching the game. Can we go over there? I'm really excited for Mikey's party to see how it... how it works. There's going to be a lot of socializing. There's going to be a lot. I'm leaving at halftime. He has zones though. I've been to Mike's. He has little zones. You can float to the kitchen and he'll have it loud enough so it's going to be drowned out. That's a wise man right there. He'll have it just loud enough so you go, we should go talk over there. This is where the game's going on. But I'll tell you right now, Rebecca would have no problem. In the middle of the game, saying to you, Woodsy, going, hey, I heard you talking about decorating your apartment. Were you serious about that? Do you really need help with that? And you're like, it's third and one. It's third and one. I would do that, too. I'm not even psycho sports guy about teams that I'm not psycho about. You know what I mean? So during the Super Bowl, I'll watch. I mean, that's what we do now. So I'm going to need to kind of know what happened. But I'm not psycho about teams that I don't, you know. I'm not psycho, but I want to watch the game. Yeah.
I like to watch the game. My daughter's all over me. She's like, oh, look, the Super Bowl. I was just like, man, I don't care. Yeah, Jay's not into it. Not a football guy. Jay's not into it. My 19-year-old daughter, Liberty, is into it. Really? She's all about it. We got to watch. I'm like, well, whatever. I love her. 570-1949. Are you that girl? And which girl are you? Or are you dating or married to that girl? And by that, I mean that girl. You tell me. You call me. We'll talk about it. 570-1949. It's the Mikey Show. You're listening to The Mikey Show on FM 94.9.

I'm Stacey Cohen, FM 94.9. KBZT San Diego. The Lincoln Financial Media Station. The new home of the Mikey Show. FM 94.9. It's the Mikey Show. You're getting some perspective this morning that is pretty cool and pretty different. Fascinating. Fascinating. We're talking to Lou Bush, who's an old friend and also played in the 1994 Super Bowl. For the Chargers, it was a Super Bowl against the 49ers. Chargers lost that game 42 to 10. Oh, that was a score? I couldn't even remember. Honestly, I could not tell you what the score is. I believe that was a score. I think that was a score. But anyway, here's the deal. So off the air, Woodsy was like, what was that like, man? Like, what was it like the night before? And I go, wait, wait, wait, wait, stop. I go, let's say it on the air. Let's say it on the air. So, Lou.
Talk about what, well, first of all, today is Friday. So tell us what the players are feeling right now on Friday. You know, this is like the polish day. So this will be the last phase of installation. So you're doing your red zone stuff, your short yardage, you know, because they break down the game plan in different phases. I'm sure they're keeping it as normal as possible. We had the best week of practice. I mean, I can honestly say there was maybe. five mistakes in a practice i mean it was just perfect and the intensity everything's picking up and at this point you you're in a fishbowl and it's the i can't i can only imagine how it is now because back then you know all of the media descends on miami i mean every and it's like you can go anywhere you'd leave that hotel room and there were just cameras everywhere so you kind of that's when you get a little closer you start you know team meetings your curfew gets tighter And, you know, like today they'll finish. They'll probably want their last kind of media session because Saturday is going to be just all team. We actually left our hotel Saturday night and went to a different hotel. Really? Yeah. We left it like right before we had dinner. No, I take that back. We went and had dinner at the other hotel and did our meetings over there just to get away from even. It's crazy. I can't. It's just. Question about that Saturday night.
That Saturday night. It's hard, man. Now, when you went to sleep, do you remember, like, actually going, like, putting your head on the pillow and trying? We got, I can't, I'm telling ourselves, they give us Ambien. I mean, when you're on the road, they'll literally hear you. You have to. Because you can't sleep. Yeah. There's no way. You know, but even on Ambien, I was up, like, at four. And you got to remember, the game, the next day is not until six o'clock. So you have all that morning, and you're thinking about it, you're thinking, and you try not to think about it because you're going, okay, because you can burn out. emotionally, before you even step on a field. And that's, I think, to a degree, that kind of was what happened to us. You know, building up to the moment. Our goal was to get, we got to the Super Bowl, but we never kind of readjusted that. And I think it was just, it's an overwhelming kind of thing. And I think, honestly, that's what's going to happen to the Saints. They're not used to this. And, you know, it's one of those things, by the time you kind of get your emotions in check.
They could be up 28-0, which is what happens to us. And, you know, before you kind of really kind of settle in and start playing, it could be a blowout before you even know it hits you. And that's what I kind of think is going to happen a little bit to the same. Some interesting stories that I remember that you told about leading up to it was, weren't you in a restaurant or something, and somebody in the restaurant, there was something weird with your head in the restaurant. Do you remember that story? No, I think you're talking more about Pittsburgh. It was before the AFC championship. Oh, that's right. Yeah, yeah. Tell that story. We fought on Fridays to go play. So we go out. We're eating dinner. And they literally started, like, clapping. Hey, yeah, we're going to, you know. They bought our dinner because they were saying it's like your last supper. When they played in the playoff game against the Steelers in Pittsburgh, people were buying their dinners like, ha, ha, ha. Saturday, we go to the stadium to practice, to our walkthrough. They are finishing up filming their Super Bowl shuffle video. You are kidding. I am not kidding you. I'm not kidding you. We left that practice like, we are going to destroy.
Thanks for the bulletin board. Oh, it was. It was just like, oh, really? Oh, really? They were already, and they were like stories. Hey, we've already printed the shirts that, you know, Steelers, 60-Minute Men, and all this stuff. We were like, oh, yeah? Okay. Okay. Let that be the reason. And we smashed. Honestly, we weren't even thinking about, okay, you win this game. It was just like, no, we want to smash you guys. Right. And because they tried to make it implied because they arrested guys. The last game of the year we played them, we finished up with them. They rested, guys, and they were like, oh, we just kind of gave you guys that game because we were getting ready for the playoff run. I went. We were like, okay, really? Okay. We smashed it. That is awesome. So now fast forward to the Super Bowl. Okay, it's a few weeks later. You're playing in the Super Bowl. And you told a story about you saw one of the guys in practice on the sideline light somebody at one of your own guys. Oh, no, it was Sean Lee. He was one of our defense tackles. You know, we do. When you warm up, you do your individual stuff, you kind of come together, you team, you run, you know. And it's just getting fits. You're not trying to, you know, outside. And Sean Lee came off. They did a running play. Eric Bien-Ami takes the ball. He's coming through the hole. These are two Charger guys, okay, just doing some drills with each other before the game, right? And Sean Lee comes off the block and lit. I'm talking about knocked him off his feet about five yards over. A de-cleater. Just, ah! And it was, they got up, started fighting. We were, like, looking around like.
Uh-oh. Uh-huh. You know, we're probably a little too tight for this game. That's kind of. They thought maybe we're wound up here and we need to chill out a little. Yeah, you guys got any more of that ambient? You know, you're going to think we were the second youngest team in the league, too. I mean, we were a young football team. And it takes a certain maturity when you get to that. Think about something. Every kid, your biggest dream goal is I want to play in the big game. I want to be a world champion. And then you finally get there. And it's like, oh, God. And you got, yeah. And it's a lot of pressure. And I just think, you know. Lou, you've done something that so few human beings have done. No question. Played in a Super Bowl. You know what, though? Do you remember the moment? Yeah. Everything. Tell me what was upstairs during the national anthem. You know what? I just, you were so, it was just. the most purest focus i think i've ever had it was just like i'll just it was everybody was like that and that's what that's what you just i can't even i can't equate it i mean it's just football honestly everybody's big everybody's strong it comes down to focus honestly in a lot of games okay who's gonna be able to because by focus i mean you're minimizing your mistakes because everybody's gonna make a mistake right but who's i can't that's sunday is that's what sunday's about that's what i miss morning about football is that
competing at such a high level and your focus is so, it's just, it's like you're high. I mean, I can't explain it. It's just like. When you went on the field, when you took the field, you're playing against that 49er team, which at the time, that 49er team was good. That was the Steve Young, Jerry Rice. They were a good football team. When you were on the field and they were running around, was it in your head? I can't beat these guys. Was it that, or what was it? Or was it, I can't get this together? We couldn't get it together. Couldn't get it together. And it was like getting your emotions in check, getting everything. And I think we kind of physically psyched ourselves out. I mean, we were tired. You know, that's what happens. When you get so emotional, you get tired. And you're running around like, I can't get my breath. You know, and they make plays because you're mentally out of it. And all of a sudden, by the time we kind of woke up, it was too late. I mean, it was 28 to 3 at halftime. Come on now.
And you don't come back on a team like that. Was Bobby Ross the coach? What did he say to you at halftime? What could he say? I mean, honestly, I mean, hey, we got to stay focused. We got to, you know, go back to basics. We got, you know, the typical lines coaches go to. But, you know, we're all, you know, I didn't say we, no one laid down. We didn't quit. We kept playing. But it was just one of those things where, you know, like I said, by the time you wake up and realize, I'm in, you know. You get hit in the mouth, and next thing you know, it's 21-0, and it's hard to come back from situations like that. Crazy, right? Crazy. I played in the Super Bowl. Played in the Super Bowl. 570-1949 is the number. You know, Lou, I felt the same way before my men's league adult championship baseball tournament. What happened upstairs to you? I can really relate. I was really nervous. We ended up winning, but the emotions were high. I was bubbling over. No, you were high. Were you worried that your dip was going to run out? I had plenty of snuff with me. It was good. We went out and we took care of business. You won the game. That's what it's all about. That's what you do. We're here. You should see the beer mug that I got.
Was it a pimp cup? I'll be dazzled. We have a lot in common. We should hang out. I'll watch the game with you. Let's do it. This is a head coach at the San Diego Chargers. Let me tell you something. First of all, my buddy Wade Phillips is in the studio with me. He knows this because he was my defensive coordinator when I was the offensive coordinator. How are you doing, Wade? Here's the thing. When we get to this level... And you're playing at a level where, you know, you're telling guys, I try to keep the guys focused and I tell them things that are real important about the game itself. I'll say to them, guys, don't forget to throw your paper cups away after you get water from the drinking fountain because I'm getting notes from administration saying that we're leaving stuff all over the place. And we're not little kids around here. This isn't, what were you raised in a barn? Come on. Do you got a hamburger? I do. I have a hamburger. I'd like one. It looks like you're hungry, Wade. Very. Did you see I finally won a playoff game? I did see that. It took me 22 years. 22 years to do it. You never did it when you were with me, but I appreciate the help, buddy. No problem. You want to just hang out and eat hamburgers? Sure. When do you want to do that? Right now. You got a grill? No. All right. Well, then let's just smoke pot, buddy. I don't know what to do. I don't know what you want me to tell you. That sounds good. I'm just trying to tell you. I'm just trying to have fun with you here, Wade, and you're eating hamburgers. I don't know what your problem is. I'm hungry.
570-1949. Here's the phone number. You want to give us a call. Sienna has new movies that are in theaters today. I do. Sienna, what do we got today? What's coming out? Well, I'm going to read you the list of what's coming out. And just remember that I get to pick the movie for all of us to go see next week. Oh, man. Can't wait. Yes. Lou, we go to see a movie. We go to see a movie as a show every Wednesday. And we each pick each week. I pick Book of Eli. Have you seen that? Good movie. Great movie. It was a really good movie. And Sienna's picking this next week. So what's out in theaters? Well, District 13 Ultimatum is out. District 13 Ultimatum. Ultimatum. Yeah. A big one with John Travolta and Jonathan Reese Myers is from Paris with love. Grow up, will you? Everything I say, a big one. You're a 34-year-old adult. That's what she said. You're a 34-year-old adult, man. It's like, come on now. Allegedly. Crying out loud. Frozen is also in theaters, and that has Emma Bell, Kevin Zeggers. Never heard of any of those people. Is that a French indie porn film? I just felt like I needed to give a little bit more information about Frozen.
Still no one knows. Yeah, I don't know. Subtitles, perfect. Bollywood. But the biggest one. Oh, no. In theaters. Stop. I feel for you, dude. You're an adult. You guys enjoy yourself now. You're an adult. The biggest one of the year. Yeah. It's a little movie I'd like to call Dear John. What is that? Dear John is the next notebook, Mike. It is the next. Let's take a listen to a clip from the movie Dear John. Are you excited, Mike? We may be seeing this next week. Mike, Mike, does he have marbles in his mouth? He almost sounds like a guy from Silence of the Lambs. That's Channing Tatum and Amanda Seafried. No, it's a guy from Silence of the Lambs that opened the door. You want to come in and see my moth collection?
There's a bunch of mods down in the basement. Channing Tatum is the picture I showed you a couple days ago of the man in his underwear. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, he's a really good-looking guy. Yeah. And Amanda Seafried is from Mamma Mia. I prefer Deep Fried, but it's whatever you want to do. Amanda Seashell. Amanda Seashell. Yeah, let's hear the rest of this. My commitment's up in 12 months. And then I'm back. For good. Well, that can happen in 12 months, John. I'll be over something. What? I'll be back for good. I said, can you help me put this couch in my van? I said, are you a size 14? It's the next notebook. It's the next notebook? It's like that. If you pick that movie. It's already done, dude. Are you kidding? It's done. It's the first one on here. Come on. You know you're going to go see that. It's the biggest movie. I didn't put it in order. It's the biggest movie of Lou. I'm just saying. You want to come? No, thank you. We can go together. Here is Channing Tatum on the theme behind the film. I think for me, this movie is about... Two hours. It's about two hours just seeing it. Feeling and really finding...
That it's possible to love. It's possible? It's possible to love. What if we cry? I may. You know me, I may. I'm sitting in the middle of you two. I call it already. Lauren, do you cry at movies? No, it takes a lot. I cry in commercials. Sienna's going to be a sobbing mess. I'm a crier. I thought that Valentine's Day was going to be out. That's why I really wanted to have my week be next week to pick the movies. But it doesn't come out until Friday. Thank goodness. You never have to see it. Well, Dear John is going to be even worse for you guys, so have fun with that. So you've already picked. I think I have. I told you. I think I have. Hey, Lou, thanks for coming in. Thank you, guys. Thank you for the delicious food. You're welcome anytime. He is the best. Okay, so. Here's what I got for you. I don't even know. Today is such a, we have so much stuff today. I know it. I'm so proud of you. My little mouse is having an issue, and so I hope that we're able to play things the way that we're supposed to because the little mouse is having an issue.
I'm out of breath from trying to run down the hall and find engineering. You are. Yeah. I know it. How great is Lou? Lou is awesome. That was so much fun. He is just his best. So genuine. I know it. I love hanging out with him and hearing those stories. I could hear those stories all day long. I know. I was sitting there with my chin in my hand just listening. He's so dreamy. Yeah. He's so dreamy. That's right. Welcome back to the Mikey Show. Mikey Show is five people myself. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show. We also got a boy with Woodsy. We got Lauren. We got Sienna. And we got Jay. And we got an open phone line for you right now. You can call us, 570-1949. You can also text and message us, 949mikey at gmail.com. Yeah. Yeah. See, Lou doesn't think so much. He thinks the Colts, what was his score? 37-14 is what Lou predicted. Yeah, it worries me a little bit. Yeah, and now I'm kind of going back on my pick. I think. I will root for the Saints. Yeah, I'm going to be rooting for the Saints. But I believe that the Colts will win. Which, you know, bet against Peyton Manning. I've got some fun facts. What do you got? About the Super Bowl. As you guys know, the Super Bowl is on Sunday. Big party planned at Mike's. I'm very excited about. But we wanted to talk about the game. This is the fourth Super Bowl appearance for the Colts and only the first for the Saints.
I think they will be a little nervous, like he was talking about. They're going to be a little tight. Capacity. Capacity of the stadium, $74,000. You'll like this. Tickets online have been seen between $1,300 and $226,000 each. That's nothing. Who would pay that? Who that has that kind of money doesn't already have like a box. Right. Or like a team. Yeah. If you could afford that seat, why aren't you sitting in a press box? Yeah, for sure. So the Super Bowl winners will get $83,000 per man as their share, and the losers get $42,000 a man. So not a bad day's pay. Really? And a nice, nice piece of hardware. Absolutely. A real nice piece of hardware. And do they go to Disneyland? And they get to go to Disneyland. Great. You know what I mean? The Super Bowl is expected to add $153 million to South Florida's economy, which is just phenomenal. And as you guys may or may not know, the Super Bowl is in my hometown next year. Dallas? Yes. Maybe we fly out for that. Maybe that's a good idea. You think? Yeah. Maybe at least send the kid out there, dude. Maybe we send the whole show. I'm in. The whole show gets to go. I'm in. And very important, the Lingerie Bowl will be airing at halftime.
At LFLUS.com. You've got to watch a computer. Come on. I'm going to be at Mike's house with my laptop. San Diego has a team. Yeah. Can't wait. An LFL team. Can't wait to see that. Oh, yeah. Yeah, that's right. I can't remember what they're called, but yeah. It's a real thing. It's chicks playing lingerie. People are actually going to those games, right? Are they like the cheetahs or something? No, they're not strippers. They're like... They're like a real football player. Are they real? Are they strippers? I don't know. Do you see what they wear? No, but they're wearing lingerie. I know they wear lingerie, but I don't think that they're actually... No. I think they, like... No, they're actually... Some of them are pretty gnarly. Some of them are pretty good. They tackle each other. Yeah. Full contact. Yeah. Wow. I gotta go check that out. Yeah, you want to scrimmage with them. Yeah, I gotta check that out. Also, you guys want to hear what a lot of really, really good football players who they're picking. Warren Sapp, Kurt Warner, Emmitt Smith, Jerome Bettis, Marshall Falk, Chargers defensive end Luis Castillo, and Cowboys linebacker Bobby Carpenter, who nobody cares about, have all picked the Saints to win. All those guys think the Saints. Steve Smith from the Giants. Everybody thinks the Saints are going to win. That's a lot of wrong dudes. You think so? I think.
They're going to lose. I know. I really want them to win, though. I'll root with you, but I think they're going to win. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We should do office pool. Yeah, why haven't we done that yet? Because I don't know how to do them. I don't either. Jay, can we just write it down on a piece of paper? I don't even like football, remember? Yeah, but you'll be the one that wins. Yeah, yeah, for sure. The guy that knows nothing is always the guy that wins. Always the guy that wins. Hey, I didn't say I didn't know anything. For sure. Also, the reason I like the Saints... is they got a nasty defense. They're nasty. I got a little audio of Darren Sharper and Scott Vegeta talking about their day. When it comes to game time, some people don't trust exactly what they see. When that play or that route or that quarterback read has started to materialize, I tell them to trust what they see and be able to attack the football, which separates an average defensive back from a good defensive back is one that can finish the play. And when they get an opportunity, make that play. We play it faster. More violent as a defense. And when you play like that, bigger hits, more guys to the ball, you can have guys take more chances trying to get the ball out and stuff like that. It's going to be a hard-hitting game. It really is, dude. And the defensive coordinator, Greg Williams, has said they're going to give Peyton some shots to remember. So I think they're fired up. I think their D is going to be really, really fired up. Nice. So do you guys know who's playing the halftime show? You too? No. Pink? No.
Gwen Stefani? No. That's way too cool and hip. It's like the surviving members of the Grateful Dead. It's actually The Who, and I'll give Sienna $10 if she can name one Who song. I immediately thought of The Grinch. Yep. The Grinch. $10 I lose. I got a little audio if you want to hear it of them warming up. So beautiful. Isn't that great? You probably know this by Fred Durst. You don't know what it's like. When they age, you sound pretty good, though, dude. Listen. Does the Who sing the song Pinball Wizard? Yes. I sang that in a talent show. You did? And I even did, like, I'm a pinball wizard. Did you throw a little hip-hop beat behind it? Yeah, I was good. I was, like, fifth grade. It doesn't sound that bad. Listen to that.
That sounds good. That sounds good. I'm really, really looking forward to that. Always been a very big Who fan. I like it. I think it sounds pretty good. I love it. Where's your sports, brother? There it is. So we do a little something called lyrically impaired. The idea is that there are some songs that the lyrics are just kind of goofy. And if you really listen to the lyrics, and some people don't. But if you really listen to the lyrics, you go, what is that all about, you know? Yes, my jam. Now, first of all, I don't even know what that is. What is that? It's Taylor Swift. It's Taylor Swift. It's really the biggest, the popular song ever. Yeah, the pop artist, Taylor Swift. No, no, no, the popular song, the You Belong. Oh, is that You Belong to Me? I didn't know it sounded like that.
Girlfriend doesn't know you at all. Yeah, I do though. Well, why, why are, why isn't he with you then? Right. He obviously, he likes to clown with you, but you're not hot enough. for him to date. Was she on three-way calling? How did she know that anyway? She's a stalker. She's wired his phone. She's tapping in. I can freaking see you. I know how to find you. Yeah. He doesn't like you now. Yeah, I know. What does that mean? Well, it means that, oh, me and you like the same kind of music, but your girlfriend doesn't like it. I'm in the room. Well, he likes that. He likes that girl. Maybe he wants some diversity. Yeah. What's a typical Tuesday night in high school, anyway? That's when you study for your math test on Wednesday. No way, dude. Not for us. No? No. Typical Tuesday night. No.
This song disgusts me. Why? It makes me sick. You hate it. You think it's so immoral. All of her songs are exactly the same. It's so immoral to me. The whole message is immoral to her. She is an old soul. She knows more about him than he does. Is that what the deal is? Yes, she's wise young. Wear shorts. Right. That's why he likes shorts. Nothing wrong there. Nothing wrong there. T-shirt shorts. She's not athletic at all. She's not athletic. She's an artist. She's the misunderstood artist. First of all, if you ask a guy, you know what, what do you really think is sexy about a girl? She's on the bleachers. You think a t-shirt and sneakers are in his top five? Yes. Nope. Really? No. Give me the captain of the cheerleaders any day, which my wife was, by the way. It doesn't, listen. You are such a dork.
That's right. I don't know if you guys knew this, but my wife was a cheerleader. She sure was. Captain, by the way. The cheerleaders at my high school were not cute. Well, mine was. They were not. I'm telling you the truth. I'm telling you the truth. Don't say where you went to high school. I'm not going to. You can probably guess, though. Come on. I just want to say, every time that Wood says something and you hear clapping afterwards. That's me clapping for myself. That's nobody else. The paddles. The paddles are out. No. I can't do it. I can't do it. No, Jay. No. Don't you make me come in there. Jay, please give me five minutes. Can I have five? I'll give you three. Okay. Okay, three minutes. Go. She's in his room. She's lying under your bed. She's crazy. I like it. He doesn't have to wake up to realize that what he's wanted this whole time is right in front of him. He has seen you every day. He's not into you, dude. Yeah, he's just not that into you. In your frumpy little clothes. Get rid of your fanny pack and maybe he'll think about it. But doesn't it bother anybody that she's saying, hey, I know you have a girlfriend, but I'm basically, I'm trying to steal you. No. I'm the better fit. Don't you see that? No. If she was a better fit, he'd be with her.
He wants the cheer girl. You don't like my t-shirt? I'm wearing a white t-shirt. It's Hanes. You know what it says on it? It says Ricky Rudd. Ricky Rudd. She's being passive aggressive. She's not telling him. She's writing a song instead. It's passive aggression. Maybe it does the job. I'm not going to lie to you. You know how Lauren is like the... Oh, no. Lauren is like the anti-Taylor Swift. I'm just taking guys here, but I just think that you despise everything Taylor Swift is about. Like the whole pop and everything about it. I would love to see you cast as a role where you have to play somebody that loves Taylor Swift. How great would that be? I didn't know anything about Taylor Swift until that whole thing happened with Kanye.
Yeah? You didn't? No, I didn't know. You didn't know who it was. I never even heard the name. I did feel bad for her. So it was all over YouTube, because I don't have TV, so it was all over YouTube and everything. That's all she watches is YouTube. Who is this chick? What happened? Hula Hoop. So when I watched it, I was like... You go to the hula hoop dot com, right? Yeah, yeah. But I thought she handled herself really well. Oh, so you're a fan? Yeah, I like her. Okay. She's going to mess up one of these days, and I'm going to laugh. I know. You're rooting for her to mess up. I like her music, and I like the whole pop thing. That's what I'm into. But she is just like, I don't drink. I don't smoke. I don't kiss boys. That's great. I wear T-shirts. Get out of here with your perfection. No, she doesn't. It's all BS. It ain't perfection. She wants to steal some dude away from some chick. Her boyfriend, Joe Jonas, ex-boyfriend, broke up with her in seven seconds on a phone. There's a reason for that. Yeah, you know what the reason is. Yeah, because they're 14. Because they just got done watching the Mickey Mouse Club on Nickelodeon. That's why. But he doesn't really. He belongs with a cheerleader. She's longing for him. She's sitting on a park bench with her sneakers and her t-shirt by herself. Like, hey, I might know why he's not interested. She's longing for him.
On a park bench and a t-shirt and sneakers by herself. Maybe you try a little harder. All right. She's a lone wolf. The lone wolf. Yeah, with a pistol in her hand. And a shank. Yeah. A homemade one. No, her mom was probably sitting there with her. From a shampoo bottle. Her mom is her best friend. Wine made out of grapefruits in a bucket. It's called hooch. Drunk on a hooch. Just hammered on hooch on a park bed. I've been there. She doesn't drink, you guys. I've been there. Mikey just turned purple. He's purple. Oh, my gosh. Well, who hasn't, really? Who hasn't? You know what? Who hasn't been drunk on prison wine? Ernest and Julio. No, that's Ernest and Julio, bro. Ernest and Julio Gallo. Ernest and Julio Gallo. Oh, really? He hasn't smiled one time. Not once. Yeah, guess what, sweetheart? I bet he does smile every once in a while around her. When he's away from you, his stalker. Thank you. I almost threw up right now. I laughed. You turned purple. I turned purple.

Brought to you by Guayaki Urba Mate. Hot or cold, it's a drink of life, so enjoy some and pass the gourd. Surf-wise today, looking pretty small as that west-northwestern continues to fall out. Looks like a little bit of a weather pattern approaching us, too, although there is a bit of sunshine right now. Expect that to become more cloudy as the day continues, and accompanying those clouds is some south wind. Right now, a little bit offshore, but just really small and weak, running in that ankle-knee waist-high zone at best. Low tide at 930, further draining their life out of it. If you want to surf today, pick a beach break and a longer board, and you might want to wait for the tide to fill in late morning. For up-to-the-minute surf reports, forecasts, go to surfline.com, and for everything you need in order to go surf,
Check out one of South Coast Surf Shops, five locations. The Surf Report is brought to you by Guayaki Urba Mate, and it can only be heard three times daily right here on FM 94.9. And the FM 94.9 Authentic Surf Report. What's that, Woodsy? That's Urge Overkill, Sister Havana, one of my favorite songs ever. It's one of the greatest guitar riffs, dude. That's good, isn't it? It is good. That's really good. It was made official this morning. It's the M1 Nation, man. The M1 Nation. We love it. Love it. Love it. You can call us, 570-1949. And you can also text us. It's 949mikey at gmail.com. And it is true. There was apparently a little bit of controversy with NBC. NBC's been going through a lot of controversy lately. Yeah. Say the least.
This is what happened. Wanda Sykes was on the Jay Leno show and kind of was talking about what had happened and why people were making a big deal out of what happened. Take a listen. Aside from your foot, how's everything else? Everything else is great. Everything else is great. I'm here for that delicious Black History Month menu that NBC is serving in their cafeteria. The what? Did y'all some of that delicious? NBC, they had a menu. for Black History Month. They were serving fried chicken, collard greens. Were they really? Yeah. Wow. Can I hang on now? Is that real? That is real, Jay. That's how they celebrate. Oh, no, no. Y'all don't need to know about Harriet Tubman and Frederick Douglass. Here's some fried chicken. She's funny. She is funny.
I was scared to know what they were having for dessert. I hope they at least took it off the rhyme, you know. Watermelon, who knows? Ooh, get a nice slice of watermelon for dessert. What the hell is this? Dang, what is happening at NBC? We are a very progressive company. Is the whole damn network on medical marijuana? She's pretty funny. Yeah. Now. So they go to, they're like, so what's going on with this? So they go to like the main chef at NBC to ask her like, well, what, you know, what's the deal with this and how did it go down? Do you understand why people would be upset about that? Actually, I won't. I don't. I don't. I don't understand at all. It's not trying to offend anybody and it's not trying to suggest that that's all the African-Americans eat. It's just a good meal and that's something that'll go overwhelming. We don't have it normally here. So to put it all together and to display it was really nice, I thought. Are you disappointed? That someone would take offense of it? Yeah. Very much so. Listen, if I was a chef, okay, and it was National Hispanic Month, I'd put tacos on the menu. Sorry, people are going to get offended?
But those tacos, yeah, they originated. That lady is saying she works there. She says, I'm an African-American lady. And guess what? This is what we do. We don't usually get to have this on the menu. That's not all we eat. She says it's not all we eat. But that's more of a southern thing than just an African-American. Soul food. Soul food. All right, man. I think it's funny. I love it. I say they did it. The lady says, hey, I want to put something on the menu that is traditional. I grew up eating. It was a big whoop. Oh, my gosh. With the political correct eyes in the room. There are four politically correct eyes. No, I don't care. I think, whatever, have some fried chicken. That's right. It's a big deal. It's a big whoop. Everyone likes fried chicken. Everyone was stoked. I think it's genius. I went over to my parents' house yesterday. And you want to know what I ate? Burritos. Spanish rice, bro. Of course. Want to know why? Take a look at me. You're Latino. Latino. I'm a Mexican. Let's get over it for crying out loud. Don't say Mexican. Mike, don't say Mexican. That's what I am. I'm a Mexican. What are you going to do? You know what I have when I go over to my parents' house? Tacos and tortillas. That's good stuff. Does your mom make homemade tortillas? She can. I love homemade tortillas. She can make homemade tortillas. I wish I could do that. My mom tried. So do we. It's the easiest thing in the world.
It's the easiest. There's like four things you put in it. Yeah, but it's all about the texture. No, it's so easy. I've got a recipe for it. I'm Mexican. It's in Spanish, though. I can speak some Spanish. You can? I went to Spain for six months. Did you really? Such a big timer. Yeah, that's right. Studied abroad, guys. Yeah, I went to San Antonio for my senior trip. You can probably speak more Spanish if I can. Yeah? Woodsy studied a couple of broads, too. Just a couple. I studied abroad. I studied abroad. 570-1949 or 949mikey at gmail.com. Took Lauren a little while to get used to Woodsy saying broad. She hates it. She hates it. I'm not used to it. Why? I'm the hated man on the show these days. It's just a derogatory term. It's outdated. I never thought that. I mean, there's some that I think are derogatory, but broad, I don't know why. Broad's crazy. I love that. It just works. Yeah, in 1954. When the kid says it. In my house, it's 1954. Hey, man, I got a broad over here. Yeah, see? M1 Vladimir. Hey, what's going on, Mikey? Good to hear you back on the radio. Thank you, bro. Quite welcome. What's going on? Well, this is, we're talking about Black History Month, right? Yeah. Okay, so we're not talking about, and I know I'm going to get shot down on this, but we're not talking about African American History Month.
American History Month. There's actually a culture behind it. And I actually, I have plenty of friends. We used to celebrate this all the time in church once a year. You know, I make black eyed peas. There's a lot of food involved in it. And every time I talk to somebody about it, they would go back to the days, you know, slavery of that. You know, it was the lower portions of the food that they got, you know, servants and this and that, the other thing. And it just became part of. the culture of the, of the current black American. It's not, it's not necessarily Southern because I, I can consider myself Southern and, you know, like cornbread, biscuits and gravy and all that stuff. But I'm not, I wasn't raised on collard greens or even black eyed peas or, you know, you know, stuff like that. So, uh, you know, just try to make a slight correction there. Oh my goodness. Listen, we get so PC, for crying out loud. Like, we can't say that a Mexican likes to eat tacos. Guess what? We like to eat tacos. Why is it different? Because that food originated there. Okay, so, I don't understand, though. You're telling me that the black culture does not like to eat black-eyed peas, collard greens, fried chicken. I don't know if every black person... No, no, no, no. And not every, because not every white girl...
likes to eat a nice juicy steak off the bone. I know a white girl sitting right in front of me don't like to eat steak off the bone. You know what I'm saying? But if you went to England, they would probably say, oh, you're from America. Oh, that's so cute. Would you like, can we get your hamburger? Can we get your hamburger? You love it? You get your hamburger. And you wouldn't be like, you racists. I'd be like, heck, y'all want a hamburger? Yeah, I'd be like, yeah, give me a hamburger. The hamburger is... Did that start here in America? It was Germany, actually, I was told, but it's okay. It's traditionally American cuisine. It's American culture. It's part of our culture. Hamburgers and apple pie, dude. It's part of my culture. Now, listen, I don't like enchiladas. Okay? I don't like the flavor of enchilada sauce. Okay? You're no Mexican. Yeah. But my culture does. Boy, they do. They love it. But give me a burrito, man. I'll march up and down the aisle of a burrito. Slay that thing. M1 carne asada is on the line. Hi, Mikey. First of all, I just wanted to congratulate you on being back on the air. Thank you, dude. Thank you. I wanted to say whenever I go to family reunions, I eat so many freaking tacos. It's unbelievable. Last time I went, 21 tacos. Like, four.
Don't be ashamed. Wow. Represent. Represent, my brown comrade. That's right. All the way. You're Latino, dude. Don't say Mexican. You're a couple of Mexicans. Don't say Mexican. Yes, you can. It's offensive. My goodness. All right, Mikey. Have a good day. Later. Thank you. Woodsy's new to California. He doesn't realize. Like, first time I was like Mexican, he's like, dude. Dude. Shh. I'm from Texas. We'll get shanked. 570-1949. You can text messages 949mikey at gmail.com. Let's see. Can we do the Little Whiz Pop Quiz? Yeah. We're ready to do it? I think we can. You're going to love this feature. It's something that we just worked out. Let's see. Do we have an intro? Yeah, I think we do. It's not on? No, no. It's our temporary one. Here's the idea of the Little Whiz Pop Quiz. And I'm getting them breaks in, but I gotta ignore it. Of course. I have to ignore it. If I don't ignore it, then I'll do it, and I can't. I simply cannot. Okay. I'll explain to whoever I have to explain to. You'll take the heat. I'll take the heat. What we do for the Little Wiz Pop Quiz is we send Sienna out. She has a knack with kids. I love them. She loves them. They love her. And she will ask them about stuff going on in the news and in pop culture. Right now, it's a Super Bowl, obviously. That's what's happening. It's a Super Bowl.
So she went out. She was interviewing some kids. What's your name? What's your name? Lucas. Lucas and Alex. You have a football on your shirt. You're a good football player, aren't you? Yeah, but I don't really like it. My brother does. Your brother? Connor. How old are you? Five. How old are you? Five and a half. Oh, you're old. Five and a half. Yep. Oh, okay. So did you guys know that the Super Bowl is on Sunday? Yep. Who's playing? The Chargers and the Eagles. There you go, buddy. There you go. No, the Colts and the Saints. Who do you want to win, if you had to guess? Colts. How come? Because they like the Chargers. No, they don't. What about you? Colts. You want the Colts, too? How come? Because they like the Chargers. That's the same answer. No, they don't.
I like Chargers. I like the Chargers, too. Give me five. Yeah. Now, what's the coolest thing about the Super Bowl? Do you know? They get lots of money. When you grow up? No, I'm going to wrestle. You are? Are you going to play football? Yes. Yeah? Do you know any positions, like quarterback? I like taggle. What do you think about cheerleaders? Taggle, taggle. Well, they're nice. Nice to look at? Yeah. How old are you? Six and a half. Do you know who Peyton Manning is? My dad thinks he's a jerk. What about Drew Brees? He's the other quarterback for the Saints. Does he seem nicer? Yeah. I would really like to be the QB. How come? I don't know, because I just like throwing the ball. And because they make the most money? And another one. Do you know what a colt is? It's a kind of animal. What? It's an eagle.
No, not an eagle. I thought they were a bear with four legs and a double edge. A double edge? Oh, my gosh. Okay, guys, I think that's good. Say, I love the Mikey show. Can you say that? I love the Mikey show. Oh, my God. Genius. Genius. My dad hates Peyton Manning. He's a jerk. He's a jerk. He was a cute little kid. That's funny. You think it's irritating to some people that they change the Monopoly board? Yes. If you buy Monopoly, yeah, they changed it. That's obsolete now. Really? It's obsolete. It's changed. I'll tell you about it. Who doesn't like a nice sandwich when you go to the deli or whatever? I have the 10 worst sandwiches for you.
Is your favorite sandwich, as you're listening right now, your favorite sandwich, one of these sandwiches that's the worst for you? Guarantee you. No, me too. Guarantee you. Like the number 10 on the list, the 10th worst sandwich in America is from a place called Cozzi's. C-O-C-I. Okay. I won't even go to that one then because we don't even know. Okay. But it's the tomato basil one. Okay. Number nine is from Arby's. Really? Do you ever go to Arby's? It's been years. It is the ultimate BLT market fresh sandwich. It has 880 calories. Oh, my gosh. No. Apparently, their full Chipotle chicken and artisan French bread sandwich is 990 calories. That's number seven on the list. Sounds right up Mikey's alley, too. Worst sandwich in America. You know what, though? Do you have artisan bread here? The Chipotle chicken. Yeah. I'd like to, if you could toast that twice for me, it would be wonderful. I'm looking to see if they have caramelized onions on it. Yeah. Yeah, so that's 56 grams of fat too. Wow. Red Robin. You guys have been to Red Robin? Yeah, yeah. They have a Whiskey River barbecue sandwich, which has 1,112 calories. Good lord. 62 grams of fat. Wow. Yeah. This next one on the list is going to make a lot of people sad. What? It's from a place called Subway.
Really? I knew it. It's called Subway. I thought they were Mr. Goody Two-Shoes. Any guesses on what the worst sandwich at Subway could be? Turkey. It's the meatball. Of course. Meatball marinara footlong has 1,160 calories. My favorite, by the way, at Subway. So you know, next time you want to go to Subway to get that meatball marinara sandwich, it is the fifth worst sandwich you can eat in America. Yeah, Jared hasn't been plugging that one. No, he doesn't say to eat that one. Blimpy. We have Blimpy here, right? What's in the name, bro? And this is really surprising. It's in the name, right? Blimpy. Blimpy? It ain't called Skinny's. Just call it Chubbs. Come to Chubbs. I didn't even think about that. The next one is a sandwich from Fatty's. Well, they have that place called Fatburger. I have never been there just because of the name. How can you, man? Fatburger. Hey, hon, let's go down to Fatso's tonight and get the Chubbs sandwich. Well, this is the thing that really upsets me. The Blimpy's sandwich that is the fourth worst for you in America is the vegetarian. Unbelievable. I don't know how that's possible, but it has 1,186 calories.
What? 60 grams of fat. Slathered in lard. It's got to be. It has veggies and bread. Yeah. It's crazy. Applebee's has the number three, the grilled cheese BLT. That sounds so good. Over 1,300 calories. Gosh, with just cheese and bacon? Number two. Got to be the Big Mac. Yeah, Big Mac. No, there's no burgers. It's all sandwiches. Oh, sandwiches. This is a Quiznos sandwich. It is the large tuna melt. Wow. And we've gone up quite. quite a lot in calories here. This one has 1,700 calories. 1,760. That's like my daily allowance. That's what you eat a day. That's what you had this week with those carrots and blueberries that you bring in. It's a tuna sandwich. It's a tuna sandwich. The large tuna melt. That's awful for you. Yeah, but it has peanut butter and bacon in it. I know. Gobs of fatty mayo is what's in there. Okay, and the number one worst
sandwich in America is from the Cheesecake Factory. Really? And it is the Grilled Shrimp and Bacon Club. Wow. It has 1,930 calories. Wow. Just eat a piece of cheesecake. So again, if you go to, that would be better. It has less calories. Less. More healthy. So don't eat the Grilled Shrimp and Bacon Club, although it does sound really good at the Cheesecake Factory. M1 Jamie is calling about an experience he just had. Are you there, Jamie? Yeah, yeah. What happened to you, dude? Well, I was on an airplane, and I overheard this couple. They were high-fiving, they were laughing, and they pulled some kind of first-class upgrade scam. What was it? Well, this is what happened. So the guy ordered a drink. You know, he got one of the flight attendants. He ordered a drink, and he asked the flight attendant to send a drink to his girlfriend. who's sitting in coach. So the flight attendant is, I guess, upset, went back to the girlfriend and brought her up to first class. I guess she was upset because he's sitting in first class and his girlfriend is sitting in coach. I would be too. Gets the girlfriend, brings her up to first class. And then, you know, they're sitting there, they're laughing, they're high-fiving and everything, and she gets a free upgrade to first class.
I don't get it. I don't understand the scam. What? How did can somebody explain? So one of them buys a first class ticket and the other one goes over there. And what? He told the flight attendant that his girlfriend's over there. And what? That she's mad. Yeah. And she's mad. He sends a drink. Right. He sends a drink. You send a drink back because my old lady's mad at me. Oh, and then the flight attendant. But it was a plan the whole time to have her. I mean, you don't know it's 100. percent going to work out, but I'm sure they were like, okay, well, look, we're going to try to find a way to get you up here. Yeah, you roll the dice, get one first class ticket. That's creep-alicious. Yeah, apparently, though, he tries to find a flight attendant who's kind of older and grumpy, I guess, because she's more than likely going to, you know, well, not necessarily gullible, but she'll be... Oh, sweetie. You know, a little more outraged about the fact that his girlfriend is sitting in first class, or I'm sorry, in coach, and he's sitting in first class. That's so dishonest. I mean, that's what, I guess. Yeah. Has that ever happened, you guys, where one of you...
When you traveled, one of you got an upgrade and the other one didn't. When I was little, my parents would go first class and I'd be in the back with the little sisters. My dad always sticks my mom and goes. No way. That is so mean. I would be furious. I've never flown first class. Really? It's amazing. It's nice. It's amazing. It really is. It looks nice. I don't think I would be that mad if I was in coach and I saw it. I don't know. If you saw somebody pull that scam? Yeah. What if I was sitting in the middle seat with someone all the way reclined back? But if I was sitting next to that person and they got up and left, I wouldn't care where they went. I'd just be happy to have the extra room, you know? It wouldn't make me mad, but I would think that's pretty gnarly, weird, gross, bad. God, people are deceptive. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Or clever. Or clever. Depending on how you look at it, I say deceptive. I say deceptive, too. And not only that, but... It probably doesn't work all that often because people buy those seats. You know what makes me mad is when we have coach tickets, the airport should do some special drawing before the flight because they always have a couple extra first class tickets. Exactly. That's what I think. And it's like, hook someone up, especially someone who's by themselves traveling alone. Yeah, and bought their ticket. No, they don't need to buy their ticket. Just say, dude, here's a free upgrade. Move up to first class. We have the empty seats. That's solid. My travel agent always said.
Just wear something nice with a tie, and when you get there, say, hey, can you upgrade me? And they will if it's open. Yeah, my mom, I mean, we've been upgraded, yeah. My wife used to work for Sharpie, and she would give the ladies behind the things pens, all kinds of really nice pens and Sharpies, and she'd get upgraded. Guy's name was Sharpie. That's a shame. I mean, that's just a name that you don't want to walk around with, huh? Well, Jamie, did you say anything, or did you just sit there and watch it all go down? I just pretty much watched it all go down. I mean, what was I going to say? Yeah, what did you say? Oh, whatever. If I were you and I was mad enough to be calling us, I would be like, excuse me. Pardon me. You know, and I'd whisper. I'd say, I just witnessed that. How about you get me up there or else I'm going to tell everyone on this plane what you just did. Guaranteed she would do that. Yeah, guaranteed. 100%. I wouldn't say a word. You whisper it and then they'll be like, oh, I don't want to panic. You know, come up here. Guaranteed. Thank you, Jamie. I was already in first class, so... Nice. Oh, baller. Are you single or what? Baller. Thank you, Jamie. Sure. 570-1949. I don't know what people think of that. M1 Nation, where are you? This is the Stone Temple Pilots band with a new lead singer. Talk show.

Welcome back. Say it changed the Monopoly board. Mm-hmm. It did.
It is not square anymore. It's now round. It's so weird. Really? Mm-hmm. What do you think of that? Awful. It's a lot more than that, Mike. Yeah? There are a lot of different things about this. Like, you know, maybe you liked the boot on Monopoly. You always wanted to be the boot. I never wanted to be the boot. What were you? The dog. Lauren? Is there a little top hat? Yes. Yeah, there's a top hat. I never really had a preference. I absolutely had a preference. The car. The car. The car drove. Oh, yeah. The car made sense to me. Yeah. Because it drove. It drove. A hat doesn't move. Hat doesn't walk. Hat doesn't walk. But it's got tricks up its sleeve. Sleeve that it doesn't have? Yeah. Now it has clear plastic representations of those things. Ah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. The board is now slick and round. As Woods would say, get. Get. Get out of here with that stuff. Did you like the paper money and how there was a banker? Of course. Was it digital now? Well, no. Now it's debit cards and an ATM. No way. Now it's debit cards. It gets worse. It gets worse. I despise it. I'm out. The board actually plays music. It plays popular clips like Rihanna's Umbrella, Daniel Powder's Bad Day, and Beyonce's Crazy in Love. Are you kidding me?
Kill me, kill me, kill me. Those songs play after, you know, some certain big actions on the board. They've also, I mean, this is what they're saying. They're trying to revamp it. It was their 75th anniversary. They want to get the younger kids, you know, the techie youngsters is what they're calling them, involved in this. They're going to like it. Trivial Pursuit and Scrabble was also updated, I guess. I don't think as crazy as this. Not Trivial Pursuit. But how about this? This one, I just really... I don't like it. You know how when you pass go, how much money do you get? $200. Now you get $2 million. $2 million. That's so lame. I know. What does Park Place cost now? Like $10 million? It doesn't say. It doesn't say. Good Lord. The one thing that seems familiar about this is that they're keeping the Atlantic City-based street names in the system, you know. Mm-hmm. Other than that, it looks completely different. It's stupid. You guys have, like, stuff your own special rules with Monopoly. Oh, yeah, for sure. What? The, what's the one, the free parking rule? Yeah, the free parking. So if you land on free parking, you get all the money. You get all the money in the pot. You do that, Lauren? That's not a regular rule? That's not a real rule. It's not a real rule. It's a made-up one. Yep. That was one. What else? Well, and do you have your own special, like, technique? Do you have stuff? Yeah, I buy everything. Me too. I buy everything. If I land on it, I buy it. Yep. Smart move. Matt is like a whiz kid on Monopoly, and I hadn't played for like 10 years, and I played with him and his niece.
Your boyfriend, Matt, is real good at it? Yeah, and I got spanked. And you lost. Oh, that was good. First I got spanked, and then I lost. And then I lost the game. And you're being inappropriate. Thank you. Thank you. Well, you buy everything. When you land on it, you buy it. I just buy it. That's smart. Load it up with a hotel. I couldn't remember my strategy from when I was like 10, you know, so. I buy waterworks. I buy all that stuff. Electric company. I'll take it. I got it. Is it $75? I'm in. Yeah. I won't play Monopoly anymore. Here's a question. Has anyone ever actually finished a game of Monopoly? I never have. No. Like, finished. No, because eventually somebody's beaten you so bad, you're just like, oh, man, I'm so tired. And they're like, no, no, we're not done. No, I'm done. Yeah, I'm going to go home. Just give up. I've been here for six hours. I'm walking home because I'm 10 and I don't have a car yet.
It's the only reason we're playing this. It's awful. 570-1949-949-mikey at gmail.com. Let me ask you, the girl that drinks Chewbacca. She didn't bring it in today. No. Straight water. Lauren, where's your Chewbacca? Water in a hippie container. No, it's not. It's some weird mix of coffee and tea that I didn't mean to mix together. It tastes disgusting. You mixed coffee and tea? I don't know what I mixed. It was coffee and something. Amazing. Oh. Well, you usually bring this stuff in called kombucha. Kombucha. I was running late this morning. You remembered the name. Yeah, yeah. Well, it made me wonder what a healthy person like Lauren will have on Super Bowl. Oh. Wheatgrass. I pull out all the stops. Wheatgrass. Veggie. Whatever we plow that day. Spring rolls. Spring rolls deep fried. Spring rolls with.
Celery. Julienne. Julienne, celery. Yeah. And carrots. Tofu. And eel. It's ridiculous. Ew. What do you have Super Bowl day? Every kind of junk you can imagine. Veggie burgers. You go real crazy. Veggie burgers. One bite of chips. I like veggie burgers. You get like garlic hummus. Yeah, you'll get nuts and you'll like sprinkle some salt and pepper on a wheat tortilla. Oh, no. I'll eat like wings and like... Fried, whatever. Yeah. I mean, yes, I eat that stuff regularly. It's the best Super Bowl food. What's the best? Yeah. You got to go with wings. Wings. No. And blue cheese. Not me. No. Spinach artichoke dip. Gross. That's the correct answer, actually. That is. That's actually the correct answer. It's so good. What do you use to dip? The bread of the bowl. Copenhagen. Oh, bread. Copenhagen. What's the worst? What's the one that just sits there all day and is like, great, who brought that? Yeah, yeah, yeah. What is that one? The sliced oranges. I saw that at a Super Bowl party one time. I was like, yeah, good call. What is this, a soccer game for a nine-year-old? Yeah. There's 85 of them on the plate. Why are orange slices so good when you're playing in a game and you're little, though? I wouldn't know. I wouldn't know. I wouldn't know. I wouldn't know. I would love halftime because it's like, oranges! Yeah, moms didn't bring them to the skateboard park. Yeah, exactly. I was the fat kid eating the corn dog.
At home. At the Little League field? At the Little League field, watching my skinny athletic friends play. What's it like to have oranges, white kids? Yeah. I'm the Mexican fatty eating the corn dog. That's all I'm saying. Oh, my gosh. 570-1949 is our phone number. M1 Deftoner is on the line. Hello? What up? What's going on, man? Hey, Mikey, I just wanted to find out, uh, you guys thinking about bringing Shawnee old boy over onto the show? I wish. Great, Sean. Why didn't we? He's the best. Perfect. Can I just, can I talk about this for a second? Yeah, come on, let's talk about it. Let's talk about this for a second, because first of all... Thanks, dude. First of all, I love Sean. Like, if there is a man romance, for me, it's Sean. And Sean is seriously one of my best friends in the world. And the reason that Sean is not here, and this is in all seriousness, first the serious answer. The serious answer is because in all seriousness, he works for the other company that shall remain nameless. Right. He still works for them. And so he has a good job with them. And so he cannot come work here because he has like a full time job with them that he can't come work here.
Second of all, he lives in the Bay Area and his wife and he are very happy there. And and but trust me, it would be great to have him as an addition to what we have right now. OK, this is a serious answer. Now, I got to give you the funny thing. The funny thing is, is that Sean is so beloved. Sean is so beloved. And a lot of people have asked about Sean. And every time they do, Woodsy goes, okay, great, because he's perfect, okay? And I'm nothing, all right? And so he's always like, okay, great. Great, let's just get Sean. Sean's so good. Let's just get him. Now, Sean, when Sean would come to San Diego, he would stay with me at my house. And we had a room in our house. That was specifically for Sean. Sean's room. And we call it Sean's room. We call it Sean's room. Yeah. And so when Woodsy came and stayed with us. On the floor. When Woodsy came and stayed with us, Rebecca's mom was staying in Sean's room. And just the fact that it was called Sean's room. Sean's room. To Woods was just like, oh, great. Okay, great. Cool. It's not Woods' room, by the way. Yeah, Sean's room. Sean's room. Okay. Well, I'll be on the floor in your office, bro, with the fish tank running, okay?
All right? I'll be in there with a clownfish with Nemo if you need me. Yeah. If anybody's looking for the kid, dude, that's where he'll be. That's where the kid is. So now, every time anything comes up, because Sean's a friend of mine, and I'll talk about him. He's great. Yeah. Every once in a while, I'll go, hey, so there was this one time, Sean, blah, blah, blah. And Woodsy goes, oh, yeah, dude, because he's perfect, right? I wish Sean was here. I know. Everybody does. Lauren, the other day, we're at lunch. And I said something randomly about Sean. And Lauren immediately goes, wow, I wish he was here right now. Yeah, everybody does. She's never met him. He just knows it'll drive Woodsy crazy. Drives me bad. I'm sorry. I was laughing pretty hard last night because we talk about this almost every day. Every day. Every day. And Lauren responds to an email about Sean. It says, who's Sean? Amazing. And I said to myself. Has she not been there every day? Every time. She made the joke the other day. I was trying to be funny. That was her attempt at you. That was her attempt at you. Okay. So, yeah, we're going to work on it, man.
I just wanted someone to chime in with how great Sean was. Because then Mikey responded with a nice answer of who Sean was. Well, I can't tell when she is kidding on email. Well, all it said was, like, what? Who's Sean? Well, she wrote the other day. She wrote last week, and she was asking questions about the station. And she said, where's the colored printer? And I said, first of all, the Civil Rights Act of 1966 made it so that Hispanics, whites, African-Americans, everybody can use a printer now. Right, right. You know? I didn't hear that. It's good. And so I wrote her back with that. And she immediately wrote back, and I can't remember what she said. And I was like, or she goes, at least one of us thinks that's funny. Wow. And I go, oh, come on. Make that two of us. No, it's just messing. And she was messing with me, but I couldn't tell. It's funny. Yeah, Brittany Murphy. died when we were on break when I was off for those six weeks. Brittany Murphy died. We now officially know how she died. And we'll tell you about it. And apparently, this is for you dudes that are listening. The Valentine's gift that you get from your lady should be based on how long you've been dating. Absolutely. How long you and Matt have been going out? Oh, that's a nice answer. Isn't that sweet, honey? I'm sure you love that, huh, Matt? Congratulations.

That's the biggest picture. The first thing when I saw that picture, I thought, how would you cook that? And in what tub holds that much sauce? I know. That's a trough. It is. I consider myself a wing connoisseur. You do? Those were amazing. They're really good. Okay. So there's a deal where they say, if you're a dude. and you've been dating a girl for a certain amount of time, it should kind of explain what kind of gift that you should be getting. And it's based on how long you've been dating. Now, dating. We're not talking marriage, right? No, just dating. Does marriage change everything? I would think so, right? Yeah, yeah. You?
What you're doing is on the list. It is? For if you've been together for over a certain amount of years. Really? It's on the list. But let me tell you, I love my lady. I love her. Oh, I love this lady. But we are getting into our twilight years. It's kind of the end of the road. Yeah, you know, we're like the couple at the end of the notebook now. Yeah. So what we've decided to do for Valentine's Day, I made the suggestion. She loved it. I said, what if for Valentine's Day we don't get each other gifts, but we do something for each other that we do as a couple? Have you guys ever tried this before? This is the first time. One of you is going to get a gift. Oh, no, no, no, no. Let me tell you. See, and I know she's listening. Babe, I'd get upset. It would upset me. We always say that, but somebody always gets it, and then the other person's like, why'd you do that? No, I think when you're married, though, it's kind of like, oh, yeah, let's just not do it. Okay, good. She probably won't, though, actually, because she's so busy, man. She's so busy. She's so busy. When I was there on the floor, she was cleaning Sean's room like crazy. She cleaned Sean's room. Preparing for Sean to maybe come. Just in case. Just in case Sean showed up. Just in case he showed up. I'm just kidding. I'm eternally grateful for you guys letting me crash. Eternally. Even though you couldn't stay in the nice room. Actually, I got a few nights in Sean's room. I did. So on this list, it says...
It gives time frames and the type of gift you should get within these certain time frames. For example, if you're with someone for less than three months, what do you think would be a good gift for Valentine's Day? I want to think about this. I'm going to give you a real answer. You're dating a girl for three months? Less than three months. Flowers. Single flower. Oh, that's... El Cheapo. Oh, yeah. El Cheapo. How you doing? I'm El Cheapo. Good to know you. Okay, here's my reasoning because... Everybody has to one-up the last gift that they got from the year before. So you've got to start small. That's a great idea, actually. Mine has gone down over the years. Lauren, what would you get a guy if you were dating him three months? I don't think guys need Valentine's Day gifts. That's really kind. And you're being inappropriate. Completely inappropriate. I mean, are you kidding me? Of course they do. Just you guys do. Maybe a sandwich. A single sandwich? How long have you and Matt been going out? About two and a half, three years. What's the best gift you've ever given him? Love. Oh, that's so sweet. So sweet. It's weak. Let's see here. Is Lauren not romantic? I don't think so. Okay, I give a series of gifts. You give a series of gifts? Yeah, I'll be like...
I keep little notes of things that he wants throughout the year. That's a good idea. And then I just get one big collective, like, you always say that you need this or want this, but you never go get it. Like the mirror. Yes, like the fogless mirror. Fogless mirror. That he couldn't spring for. Can I tell the story? Yes. It was the first dinner we ever had together, right? No, second dinner. It was after the photo shoot. Yeah, we're having dinner, and we're all there. And I don't know how that came up, but the topic of... Shaving in the shower. Shaving in the shower came up. And I said, I shave in the shower. And Matt, Lauren's boyfriend, goes, like, totally, like, fascinated. He goes, how do you do that? And I go, they got a mirror in there. And he goes, doesn't it, you know, with the steam in it? I said, well, they got the, and Woods jumps in. He goes, dude, they got the fogless mirror. Like, what's the matter with you? The fogless mirror. And he goes.
How did he say it? He said, oh, yeah, I can't really spring for one of those. I can't really spring for one of those now. It's a luxury. Woods has known him like two seconds. Woods goes, dude, you can't spring for a fogless mirror. I'll buy you one, okay? I'll buy you one. I think one of you guys said, let's get the busboy over here and ask him for his last tip. It's $5. You ever hear of Bed Bath & Beyond, bro? Was I there? I don't remember this at all. You don't remember that? No. Yeah, you were there. He might have been in the bathroom or something. At the bar, maybe. At the bar, yeah. So, Woodsy got him a fogless mirror. He has that to look forward to. I was at Target last night, and I saw one. I go, done. Here. Let me get the change out of my car and get this guy following us in the mirror. Woods is just spinning bromances throughout San Diego. Just trying to make people happy. That's what I do. So if you're with someone for less than three months, they say flowers would be a great gift. Anything from $20 to $25, like a movie maybe, if he's like, oh, The Hangover is the best movie I've seen. Get him that or a book from an author he maybe likes. $20 to $25. I think that's right.
Why are you giving me a look like, bleh, Woods? I've been with somebody 90 days, they're not getting a DVD. Why? They're going to get something a little bit better than that. Yeah, they're going to get something a little better. Dude, I think Lauren's on to something, man. You start bigger than that, you've got to get bigger and bigger. Set the bar low. Excuse me, I'm about to marry someone who's gone worse and worse and worse. Our first Valentines together was... He took it in Tahoe. No, no, no. The private jet. No. Helicopter tour. No, he told me. Last year he gave you a Tootsie Roll. He wouldn't tell me what he was doing. Oh, I'll tell you what's happened. He wouldn't tell me what he was doing the very first year. So I showed up at his house thinking we had reservations because he kind of hinted around it. Right. And he had cooked all day this whole meal with a family recipe. There was tablecloths and he made a Valentine's mix on iTunes. Yeah, I heard it yesterday. We have a problem, UJ. I know. It's a great mix. He's got the candles lit. It was so cute. He is the most unromantic person on the planet. So for him to do something like that, I was like, oh my gosh, you put so much thought into this. You didn't go to work today. This was amazing. First eye of the cow when you're getting the milk for free. That's exactly what happened because the next year I got some pro flowers and a teddy bear. And then last year...
The Pro Flowers, we were living together that year. The Pro Flowers came to me two days early in a box, and I had to put it together myself. Amazing. Yes. Amazing. I called him. I'm like, thanks for the flowers, babe. It's not Valentine's Day. It's the 12th. And I just had to clip it and put them all in there. It's the 12th. I appreciate it. And he said, well, they say it's hard to get the delivery on the day. I'm like, well, you did it before, champ. Mm-hmm. You want to hear about my little... Box of Blessed Feelings. Oh, my God. Yes, I do. And I actually, I love this. I love it. I did this for Rebecca, and I took so much guff for this. Oh, did I take some guff for this, man. I put, let's see, I'm already nervous telling the story. I feel I'm going to be made fun of mercilessly. No, not by me. I'm in on it. I heard it. I think it's great. Wait, what? You didn't hear about this. No. The memory jar. Oh, yeah, I did. Took a mason jar. Shut up. You've already... I made some jam. No, is it... Yeah, is it like a jam type jar? Hmm. Yeah, let's play some Cher for this. Okay. Oh, this is Cher? No, this is... Is it? It's Peter Cetera. Peter Cetera. What? It's from a movie.
I love this song. It is a good song. I love this song. So I took a mason jar. I took a mason jar. And I got little pieces of paper and I wrote little memories. Like what was one memory? Shut up. Just one. I said, hey, remember the time that we went to... Fredericksburg, and I was afraid to stay in the cabin. In Virginia? No, Fredericksburg in Hill Country, Texas. Beautiful, beautiful. Mark Bauman told me to go there. Of course he did. He goes, dude, do you want to do something really classy with your lady? And of course you listened to it. Yeah, I did. And I hated every second of it. Hated it. So just memory? So I wrote all these little memories down on a piece of paper, and I put them in a jar, and then I took a piece of paper, and I wrote with a Sharpie memory jar and taped it. To the trip. Oh, look at that. I gave her the memory trip. What'd she think? Oh, she loved it. Of course she did. She loved it. Can I say the one that's similar that my friend got? It's a guy, my guy friend. His girlfriend was very artistic and listening because it's good. Yeah. So.
His girlfriend got a bunch of marbles and hand wrote on marbles with little paint. Every characteristic about him, like handsome, sweet, funny, you know, everything. Great soul or soulful or whatever. Put them all in a jar just like you and then wrote on the outside, never lose your marbles. It's pretty impressive. And I thought that was the cutest thing. I would love something like that. I'd rather have the DVD of the hangover. But they keep the jar. All right. Thanks for the jar. Excuse me. No, he still has it. And he's gone through a few girlfriends since then. And he's like, I will never get rid of that. That's sentimental. Mine would say chubby, effeminate. This would be the more of us. OK, chubby, effeminate, Latino, Latino, forgetful way. Hey, Mikey, somebody just texted and they said. I love Mikey's tub of thoughts. I gotta give me one of those. It's cute. That's what Rob used to do, man. Rob would kill me. Every time he would talk about it, he would say... The receptacle of... The receptacle of wrong, dumb guy stuff. It was just awful. I've taken so much heat for that stupid memory jar. I love it. Wait, so what did Rebecca say? No, she loved it, you know? It's cute. And I'm gonna buy that song on iTunes right now.
It is good. I love that song. Who is it? It's Peter Cetera. Peter Cetera and Cher. Oh. He was in Chicago? Yeah, he was the singer for Chicago. Wait, where is the memory jar right now? Yeah, where is it? Okay, if I'm being really honest, I keep saying, oh, she loved it, she loved it. I think she might have been a little gayed out by it. Probably. Like, oh my God. How about flowers and chocolates? Do you know the number? Jay, do you know how to get... I can get her to call the hotline. You know I got her number in here. I want her to be really honest. I actually think she thought it was kind of lame. No, I guarantee she likes it. She acted like she really dug it, but I think she was kind of like... That doesn't seem like something you would do, though, because you can get her whatever, and then you did that. Yeah, but I think she was kind of like... See, I get a little bit... You're cheesed. No, when guys do stuff like that, and when they do it, just maybe like once a year. For something, I think it's really sweet. Really? Yeah. You're cheesed out by it, though. Are you or no? No, if you did that all the time, I'd be like, all right, back off here. Are you a romantic guy in general? I was way more romantic when we were dating. Yeah, before you married her. Yeah, that's what happens. I mean, no, no, no, no, no, no. That's not true. I will leave Rebecca little notes on her mirror with sticky notes. Yeah, with lipstick. Hi.
I'm selling your kidney in Mexico. That's nice. Welcome to the world. Real disease. Ew. Yikes. All those urban legends. Urban myth. I've heard that. Is this my wife? It is. Hi, hon. Hi, babe. Hi. Hi. All right, so put on the truthful hat. Yeah. Do we have to have this conversation? Oh, dude. It was lame, right? See, she thought it was lame. The hesitation says it all. No, no, no. I definitely wouldn't. say that it was lame. I thought it was really sweet, and I thought it was really thoughtful. And I still do. I just... I don't know that I... I don't know what it is. It's not, like, super sentimental. It's true. And I could tell, like, that's why I was rethinking it, and I'm like, I don't really think she was... Like, when he gave it, he really did, like, you know, like...
looking at all the different memories and going like, oh yeah, I remember that. But then it's like, okay. Where's the real gift? Yeah, maybe you're reaching to your wallet, pal. No, no, no, no. No, it wasn't like that. It was just like, it was a really neat experience, but I don't really hang on to stuff like that. I don't know. I just... Rebecca, first of all, you have to know, Rebecca's very neat. Okay? So when I gave it to her, there must have been a thing in her head like... Where is this going? Yeah, where am I going to put this? All these little pieces of paper. Like, what am I going to do with this? What am I going to do with this? In fact, I was telling everybody about Rebecca the other day in terms of like, Rebecca is very planned. Okay? Yeah. She's very neat. She's very organized and very, very planned. I'm getting the break signal as if our life depends on it right now. It does. It's a new job. Gotta be on it. That's... Stop! With the that's what she said. Nope. Never. You've got three years of this, kid. How about that for love? She tricked the flame. How about that? All the way in. Hey, Fredericksburg was great, though, wasn't it, babe?
I loved it. The worst thing I've ever done. The only Mexican there. Yes, the only Mexican ever in the city of Fredericksburg, even to this day. Only Mexican to ever be. But you're doing the right thing this year, though, even on this list. It says if you've been together more than three years, you should go away somewhere close at a nice little weekend getaway. Oh, my gosh. You know, I am so looking forward to that because one thing that Mike and I don't have a lot of time with is. away from the kids and just alone, you know? So I'm really, really, I mean, there isn't anything that I would rather have in terms of a gift than just getting to spend time with him. I know, I know. The both of us just sitting there on our laptops together, browsing the internet in a hotel room, not talking and eating room service. Right, babe? Ah, this is the life. So romantic. I love you so much. All right, babe. I love you. Love you. Bye. It's marriage. Hey, babe, do you know the password for the internet thing in here? Good luck. Sienna, that's true love, okay? True love is five years from now, you're in a Fiji hut out in the middle of this blue crystal water, right? And you're sitting there all fat. You just ate a hamburger. You got your laptop sitting on your lap. Your wife, your husband's next to you. You go, hey, babe, do you know that?
Do you know the password to get into the Internet system here? I look forward to it. This is The Mikey Show, FM 94.9. You feel great around her. This, to me, is why we need to eliminate term limits, because I cannot tell you how much I'm going to miss this when he's gone. No matter where you go in the world, people still want to come to California. There's no one screaming like, I can't wait to get to Iowa. They want to come here to California. And we are known for all kinds of things, not just like some of those other states. You know, that like one state is known for its potatoes, another state is known for its oil, another state like Florida is known for its... For the old people. Wow. Not the oranges. No. Where was he saying this? For the old people. I don't know, like at a press conference or something. But he just says there's no filter with him. That's hilarious. You know, California is known for Mexicans. When you think of California, you think of things like Mikey, his little hands picking strawberries. Gardening, you know, and doing...
The things that the agriculture with his little brown hands. With his little Mexican brown hands. You know why they're brown the way they are? Because they've been tanned in the sun. I call him my little brown hand. Everyone needs a little brown hand. Play the guitar for me. I'm going to sing a song called Little Brown Hand. I'm the governor of California. Little brown hand. You're my friend, my little round-handed. You alone are my hand. They've been tanned in the sun, you little Mexican. You like the garden. You like to pick stuff. I like the way you pair up those strawberries. Round-handed. You turn into, like, the godfather halfway through that song. I know. What happened there? Hey, M1 Harold's on the line. Harold, how are you?
I'm going to back you up on the memory jar thing. Oh, yeah. Did you do it? I did it. Yeah. Dude, my wife, I could hear her in there. She would pull a note out because I filled it with, we got a lot of memories. We go back 20 years. Yes. And she would pull a note out. She would read it, and I'd hear her cracking up, laughing at one of the memories I did. Next minute, I'd hear her bawling her head off. Next minute, cracking up again. I mean, just back and forth. And yeah, dude. I was like a hero for a good solid month. That's right. Just score. Memory jars a hit. I did, dude. That's right. That's right. He did real great with the wife. That's a boy. Yeah. Baby number three. That's right. It's a memory jar, baby. Thank you, dude. Later. Later, brother. M1 Herald. The official cause of death with Brittany Murphy is? It was an accident. Really? Yeah. It was caused by pneumonia.
Iron deficiency and drugs played a small part. What drugs? They don't say? They don't say, yeah. They said drugs found in the toxicology reports, but they were believed not to be playing a role in her death. It was community acquired pneumonia. Maybe don't do an eight ball when you have pneumonia. Yeah. Why do you have to say that? The reports came out. Leave her alone. No, they said it was natural causes. With some drugs in her system. Small amount, they said. Gotta give her a break for the small amount. Jeez. It was an accidental death. I'm sure it was. Anybody see the cover of the UT today? Mm-hmm. New ketchup packages. They are awesome. Are they really? You know how the ketchup packets, like, if you get one through a drive-thru, you just, like, you struggle to get it open, and you get two squirts, and it spills, and it's not enough. Well, let's talk about this for a second, by the way. You want to talk about flu catching germs? Yeah. Okay. Somebody grabs those ketchup packets, all right, with their flu-y fingers. Flu-y. With their mocos. You guys know what mocos is? No. Boogers. Yeah. Boogers?
If you have a Mexican mom and dad, that's what they called it. Wipe off that mocos. Mucus. Well, they called it mocos. But they got it right on their fingers. So they grab the ketchup packet and they throw it in there. Then you take the ketchup packet and you put it in your teeth. I do. I totally do. And you open it up and you consume their fluey fingers. Oh, well, pal. I'm still here kicking. What's the new way? Well, the new way, Heinz has just unveiled this new ketchup packet, which is going to be coming out in the fall. It's shaped like a shallow cup with a top that can be peeled back for the dipping. So, like, it has a little top, easy to peel, you know, not a struggle at all. Is it the same kind of concept? Yeah, exactly. The chicken nugget thing. Little dippy, guys? No, look at the picture. She's from Mahoya. She's never been. She doesn't know what a chicken nugget is. She doesn't know what a chicken nugget is. I've had steak and prime rib. Yeah, I mean, I've had prime rib. Lobster. I've had. Lobster nuggets? Chicken parmesan. I don't know what this is. I think that is what the deal is, though, right? No, no, no. It's not one of those, like, little tubs. It's not? It's a little plastic package. Don't talk about Mikey, dude. Yeah, you don't have to call me that. Little tubs. Oh, man. No, it's. Yes.
It's just like the packet, but it's bigger and it's shaped better and it holds three times the amount. That's what she said. Sienna, it's exactly like that. No, it's not. Let me see. Guys, it's a little tub. It's exactly a tub. It's a tub? Yes. Let me see. It's exactly the thing you put nuggets in. No. Yeah, the top can peel back, be back. Oh, wow. The top can be peeled back for dipping. Jay's checking it out. Or you could tear the end off for squeezing. So they have a little wrinkle in there. It's like the sweet and sour sauce in the shape of a mini-house bottle. Yeah. Okay, you're right. The picture that was on the computer, you couldn't tell. It looked like a placket. Placket. But it's good because they didn't hold three times the amount. It's easy to dip because, you know, when you're driving, you just went through a McDonald's or whatever. You want to put a little... Ketchup on your fries, you can't do it. No. This way you can. There's no bigger beating than eating fries and ketchup while you're driving. It's true. How many complaints? That's what Heinz said is the biggest complaint. It's probably a lot. I don't like it. I don't think anybody does. Who takes the time to be like, you know what I'm going to do today? I'm going to get on Heinz's website.
And I'm going to tell them about those ketchup packets. I really want ketchup on my fries, and I go through a drive-thru. How am I supposed to eat that when I'm driving? But would you take the time to go on Heinz's website and be like, oh, good. I would. Not a chance. I am not that guy. I don't care. M1 truck driver. Hey, Mikey. How you doing, dude? Good. Hey, I just wanted to comment. You guys had a great week. Show's awesome. Thank you, bro. Thank you so much. We question Woody's sexuality. Yes, so do we. Daily. So do we. Definitely don't. And, you know, Lauren needs to do a little bit more airtime. What's that? We need to get Lauren on there a little bit more airtime. Dude, I tell Lauren every day, I'm like, get in there, girl. Jump, I mean, heist this thing. Don't become the new white supremacist of past. You know who we're talking about. I don't, and I don't even want you to say stuff like that. No, no, no. Stop it. Stop it. Sorry, Mike. I don't want to say anything bad about anybody. Oh, no, no, no. But you know how? He started out real quiet and calm. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think so. But you guys, great show. Woodsy, you're all right, man. Thanks, brother. Thank you, dude. All right. Take care. Have a good day. Appreciate it. That's M1 Truck Driver. Oh, boy. Pipe up.
I know. I'm working on it. Pop up, Peter Pan. Guys, this is her first week on the radio. First week ever in my life. Yeah, but you're an open book. Well, yeah. And how many times did you make an appearance? A lot. We did a lot of call-ins and stuff. Yeah. Thank God. That's why I'm here. You're getting in there, though, right, kid? Yeah, I'm like a timid little bunny rabbit. Yeah, she's like the timid bunny rabbit that comes out onto the lawn, and you can't scare her away. You know what I mean? She's still there. She's still there? Yeah. You know, you just got to wait until the little bunny rabbit comes out there. That's right. I'm going for quality versus quantity at this point. Unlike myself. That's right. My brother called the other day and he goes, hey, who's the hot blonde girl on the website? I've never heard her before. And I go, well, first of all, that's me and I'm bald. He goes, that's Lauren. And he goes, I haven't heard her talk that much. And I go, well, let me give her her number. You just dissed his brother. Oh, Stevo? You wait. He's great. I haven't met him yet, but I've heard a lot about him. You haven't met Stevo? He's great. That kid. We had a delicious dinner together. That's right. I call him my little brother, but he's actually eight years older than me. Yeah. Great guy. Oh, I know what I want to do. I want to do some recap and tell you what these kids are up to lately because they're all up to stuff. So Sienna, right? Yeah. Didn't reveal what it is in a recap email.
some of you can relate, some of you can't, to the OCD stuff, right? Sienna believes that she's an OCD type person. I never thought I was until recently. This is a recent thing. What is it? I cannot stop checking my car to make sure that I locked it. Really? I'm serious. That's OCD. No, I mean, I hit the lock on my car when I'm leaving 15 times. My alarm, like when I hit the button, it doesn't make a noise. So I'm not sure when I lock it. So then I go in the house. I'll put everything away. Hours will pass. And I'll go, did I lock my car? Did I lock my car? And then I'll be in here since I've been in this building. We're seven floors up. And I'm like, did I lock my car? Did I lock my car? I mean, constantly thinking it. I don't know, Sienna. You might not have locked it. It's the worst thing you can do to an OCD person, by the way. It's the worst thing you can do. You know, it might not be locked. I thought I saw a door open. When I let Todd drive my car and he comes back and he's like, yes, I locked it. Chill out. I'm like, you sure? And I'll go like when he's not looking and he doesn't know. And I'll double check to make sure he locked it. The one time that it's not.
It will ruin you. Well, my car has been broken into. My old car that I had before was broken into a couple times. Yeah. And so I'm just so paranoid. Nobody ever breaks into my car because it's a piece of junk. Well, so was my last one, but it still got broken into. Call us if you have real weird stuff like that. 570-1949. There's a street in La Jolla called Via Siena, my name. And ever since I was little, every time I would drive by, I'd go, Via Siena, you know, and it would be exciting. Now, every time I drive by, I have to say it out loud. Via Siena. Even if I'm in a car with, like, random people, I'm like, Via Siena. I'm serious. If you don't, would you feel weird? I would feel like, I'm about to get in a car accident. Yeah. I'm about to get in a car accident if I don't say it. Lauren, do you have any? Yeah, I'm really weird with where the dishes and the pots and pans go and stuff. And I live with my boyfriend. And if he attempts to put stuff away, it's never in the same place twice. So I have to go back over all of his work and put it back. Do you guys sense with Lauren that there is a right and a wrong way to do things? Yeah, because you've made comments about laundry, too. He can't hold correctly. There's a right and a wrong way. Yep. You OCD about anything, was he? I wouldn't say OCD. I'd say superstitious. Yeah.
With the order that you do your products in? Well, no, not so much that. But being a baseball player my whole life, you get superstitions. And I had a really monster game. I had like four hits. And I had two cheeseburgers from McDonald's before I had those four hits in that game. And I eat two cheeseburgers before every single game. If it's 9 o'clock in the morning, I get two cheeseburgers. And it's foul. It's like Michael Phelps. That sucks. Yeah, but then there's got to be times where you get those two cheeseburgers. But I'd always go back to that one time. Really? Even if it doesn't work in the future? No, it had been working up to the last game of the year. So I'm going to continue to do so. With sports, there's a lot. Oh, I know so many. There's a ton. I sense there's more than just superstition with you. I don't have OCD. Let's get Jamie on the line. My shirt goes off. It goes here. My pants go over there. I have no OCD. I'm a slob. Yeah, I don't think I do either. Yeah, right. What? Like what? There are, I mean, the way I set up your papers and stuff, I have to put it exactly in the right order or else you don't know what it is. Like when we're shining your shoes, they have to be perfect. I don't think it's OCD. I think you're just like very regimented. When I detail your car for you and mow your lawn, dude, it's got to be perfect or I have to do it over again.
de-shell my lobster. It always has to. When I have to feed you grapes, they have to be perfectly symmetrical or else you will not accept no bruised ones. It has to be green, red, red, green, red, red. You don't want that Mikey to come out if his shoes aren't shined. No. Okay? No, you don't. You don't want that guy. Who did my shoes? It's like me. I'm sorry, dude. Dude, I'm so sorry. I work like 12 hours. It's exhausting. I don't care. Who did these shoes? I'm so sorry. It wasn't me. All right. 570-1949. 570-1949. You've been to MikeyShow.com because if you haven't, you're nuts. You've got to go to MikeyShow.com and check out the videos we got there. The bios on all of us, the blogs, all of the stuff that you get to see, it's all there. My product list is up on our blog. Did you put it up? Yeah, so you can see my products. All the stuff that Woodsy uses. Jon Stewart, Bill O'Reilly getting into it over the Sarah Palin stuff. That's pretty good. And then we do have stuff to talk about with people being germaphobe. My friend Sean actually was a really good... I miss him. I wish he was here. It would be great if he was just here right now.

Contesta Taqueria, University Avenue, and Richmond in Hillcrest. Now, back to the Mikey Show on FM 94.9. So, you can call us, M1 Nation, 570-1949. You can text us, 949mikey at gmail.com. Welcome back. We're talking about OCD people. Have an OCD. Let's see, M1 Scuff, you there? Yeah, I am. What's your OCD thing? Oh, it happened ever since I got out of the military. I cannot stand the blankets on the bed. They have to be, like, straight on. Even my fiancée cannot stand, even when she's on the bed. I even, like, organize it when she's on the bed. Really? It's ridiculous. So it can't be messed up? Oh, no, it cannot. For the life of me, it cannot. If I see, like, the lines crooked, I'll even go back.
from eating or something, just to go back and fix it. I'm trying to think. Is it OCD if I won't let my wife leave her seat if the Yankees are winning? Superstition. Is that superstition? Yeah, superstition. I won't let her get up. Why? I'm just like, if you leave, they're going to mess it up because a couple times she's left and they've lost. Yeah, we could get a million calls on sports superstitions. Yeah, superstition. Okay. OCD is when it has to be a certain way or it makes you weird. Yeah, I got none of those. M1 Short Stack. Hi, it's so great to hear you guys back on the air. Oh, thank you. I appreciate it. Thank you. Yeah, I have like this super weird thing. Like, I always have to know what time it is. Like, even if I don't have to be anywhere, I just die if there's no fault around me. You have a watch, right? Like, it drives my boyfriend insane because he loves being late everywhere. Yeah, but you have a watch, right? No, I don't even have a watch. Who wears a watch anymore? Oh, come on. Who wears a watch? I'm telling you, Lou Bush was in here, and I was looking, and he had a watch on, and I remember thinking, that's strange. Dudes love watches. I can't afford a really good one, so I just don't buy one. I love watches. I want a Rolex. I'm not bowing now.
You got to get a watch. You got to get a Rolex, pal. Well, my mom will tell you that if you're ever in an interview or a first meeting with someone for a man, the most important thing for them to have nice is a watch. It's the first thing people look at. Shoes are good. A watch is important. But guys are into it. Chicks don't really care about watches. They have nothing. They get in the way all the time. How do you not want to know what time it is, though? Get my cell phone. Great. You got to reach into your pocket. 930. Yeah, your nice pocket self. Easiest as that. It's my eye pouch. Let's see. M1 Vicky. Hey, Mikey. How are you? Good. How are you? Great. Okay, here's my OCD thing. When I eat my french fries, I have to lay them all out and eat them from smallest to biggest. Wow. That is hilarious. Where do you lay them out? That's brilliant. That's great. It's almost making me have to now. I know. I'm thinking about it myself. I'm thinking about it now. I shoved like eight in my mouth at the same time. Doesn't everybody? So you eat them one at a time.
When I lay them out like that, yes, I eat them like that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what? I'm thinking about fries right now, and I eat fries. I don't do that, but I eat fries one at a time. Really? Yeah. Oh, no. I think I do, too. I don't like the three or four at a time. I like, like, eight at a time. You do, like, a whole bunch. Yeah, I'm like... That's like biting a potato. M1 Woodchip. Are you there, Woodchip? Yeah, I'm here. I think this is more along Woodby's line. I think it's more superstitious. But my girlfriend, when we're driving, was really weird at first. Anytime we go through an intersection where there's a yellow light, she double taps the dashboard, taps the ceiling, and it taps the dashboard again. A lot of people hit the roof of the car. Yeah. It's a good look. Why? It looks great. It's sexy. Yeah, I don't know why she does that. And then when we drive over like a rail track, like railway, she lifts her feet up. And I was on the street from a rail track. Every time I look over, she's lifting her feet up, and people would be looking at me like, what is she doing? I'm like, I don't know. Is your girlfriend 14? Yeah. 13, actually. Okay, there's no doubt about that. No, dude, I know. I've seen it a million, million times. Back in high school, I saw it a lot. And by the way, I have a watch collection, so I love watches. Good. It is a guy thing. You're right. Mm-hmm. Let's see. Explains why Woods doesn't have one. Oh. Wow. She's killing you.
Oh, Gary, I had to. They told me to get in there. M1 Lee? Yeah. What up? I am OCD about the number 7. How? The radio has to be on 7, 14, 17, 27. I took a picture of my odometer in my truck when it was 777 miles. What? On the day 7707, I got a tattoo that says 7707. Wow. Like if the radio is not on a number that has seven in it, like I'll sit there and think about it. Some people just have numbers though. Like I know Taylor Swift always says 13 is her lucky number. That is her number. Mine's 22. I've got a number. I got 22 is my number. Really? It's in everything. Yeah. Yeah. 13 is my number. We got married on November 2nd. So 11. We got married on the 17th. Yeah, dude. You're crazy like me with that. Yeah. The name of my band was the 22s. Really? In Dallas, yep. I just remembered that Todd, my fiance, has a really, really weird one. What? Every time we go and get gas in the car and he's putting the gas in. Because you won't. Because I won't, obviously. He has to stop the pump at a certain number. He will not stop the pump if it's at $37.23. It has to be like $37 or $37.25 or $50 or $75.
If he stops it and it's accidentally 37.26, he'll make sure it runs until it's 37.50. Really? I love it. Is it OCD to let the microwave get down to a second and never let it go to zero? Maybe. You don't like to hear the beep, beep, beep? That's it. I hate the beep, beep, beep. I hate the beep, beep, beep. So I stop at it a second. My microwave's from, like, 1956 in my new place, so I don't even... There's no wind-up. It literally is a wind, and you hit a big button that's like... Six inches across in diameter. You can get a new microwave. I'm grossed out by eating in a microwave that people have been sticking their foul fish in there and who knows what's been in there. You'd love my place. Yeah, reuse microwave from somebody else. Not so much. That's gross, right? Toilet. Reuse a toilet. You know what? I'm way more fine using a toilet. Yeah, you clean that. Who cleans the microwave? I clean the microwave all the time. No microwave. Yeah, it splatters. I don't like that. It's a wipe down, but is it a thorough clean? No. I take the glass plate out. I take the little plastic thing that the plate goes on out, and I clean the whole thing. Yeah, I put that in the dishwasher. But what about all the vapors? Vapors will live on. That's too short. They live on, and they live on in grossness. Let's see.
P1 Boise? Is that right? M1. Oh, I said P1? M1. I didn't do that for a while. M1 Boise. Yes, sir. Go ahead. I'm glad to hear you back on the show, Mikey. Thank you, bro. So my OCD thing is, every time I see a coin, I always associate the head part and the tail part, whether it's evens or odds. I hate odd numbers. I love even numbers. So whenever I see a coin on the ground, or whether it's in those, like, take some change, like... And the 7-Eleven stores, you know what I mean? Yeah. I always have to flip. If it's on tails, I have to flip it on heads. Really? Yeah, you're nuts too, dude. It is. It's kooky. We're all kooky. Yeah, my roommate back in the day actually super glued a bunch of coins on tails and used me as a psychology project for one of his class studies. And actually video recorded me going to get a knife and actually going there and flipping all the coins over no matter how long it took. I had to sit there and I had to dig at them and flip them over. That's crazy. Wow. That's awesome. Thank you, bro. Did you get them? Thank you, man. No problem. Appreciate it. A couple of things that we did not get to. Did you know Carrie Underwood's going to be in her first feature film?
Did not. Yes. Holding my breath. Well, I'll get to the movie in a second. First, she's going to be making her debut appearance on How I Met Your Mother, which is going to be on next month. I like that show. My parents love that show. And I was okay with that. I was like, okay, guest appearance, that's cool. But now she's going to have a supporting role in the movie Soul Surfer, where she's going to be playing a girl named Sarah Hill, a church youth leader. And in this movie, Helen Hunt, Dennis Quaid, a bunch of big people. Yeah, and Carrie Underwood, she's going to be acting. Well, we'll see. Sounds like a winner. Sounds like a Sienna pick for a Wednesday movie. I don't know. I don't like it. I don't like the sound of it. I really like Dennis Quaid, though. Jon Stewart and Bill O'Reilly were going at it. They were talking about a variety of things. Sarah Palin, you've been a little tough on Sarah Palin, haven't you? No, I don't think so. No, you haven't been mocking her? Oh, no, I mock her. I don't think I've been too tough. No? What other woman in politics have you mocked to the extent that you've mocked Sarah Palin? Probably Hillary Clinton. Have you mocked Hillary that much? Yeah? More than Sarah? The same? Well, Hillary's been around longer, but give Sarah time. I'll get there. Yeah? Yeah, I'll catch up. You like her? I don't know her. No? I'm not crazy about the whole real America vibe I get from her. That gets under my skin. You don't think she's a real American? No.
I don't like the whole, like, there's a real America and then there's the coastal America. You don't think there's a difference between San Francisco and Wasilla, Alaska? In terms of mentality and how you look at life? I think there are individuals with the... Let me put it this way. I don't say that where you live is the factor in deciding who you are. Oh, I completely disagree with that. Imagine that. Oh. That you are not a product of your environment. Well, it has influence. The fact that he's lived in New York City the last 20 years of his life is the reason that he's got that opinion. Talk to somebody that lives in like Cornhusk, Nebraska and see if they have the same views on life as you do, bro. Yeah, but San Diego is a very transient town. We get people from all over. Yeah. And maybe they didn't identify with... overall what was going on in Sandusky, Ohio. That's the thing. That's what he's saying. He's saying it doesn't matter where you live. Everybody thinks globally. Not really. You kind of think where you're from. If you're from Wasilla, Alaska, you are going to think differently than if you've lived in San Diego for the last 20 years. Your perception is reality. It's completely skewed if you're in Alaska. If this is my reality, then... That's what you know. Do you think John McCain just kicks himself every morning? Just every morning?
Just wakes up and beats the crap out of himself. Like, idiot. Oh, I remember the day it was announced. And as a Republican, I went, who? Who? Really? Yeah. Really? I don't know. I thought it was awesome. You did? It worked out well for everybody. You know what, though? Especially Saturday Night Live. I don't know. For him to do that, she was no one, you know? And that was just amazing. A lot of people respected that. I would be really respecting it had they won. Yeah. Had they gotten close. Yeah. It was just the worst decision ever. Ever. Ever. 570-1053. I do something called giving my testimony. I do this on Fridays at the end of the show. And I'm going to be doing it for the first time today. And it's different. There's going to be. Things that you will hear in that that are different. And you'll go, oh, that's different. I've not heard that on the radio. If you're a new listener to The Mikey Show. If you've been listening to The Mikey Show for years, then you know it. And you're used to it. And it makes sense to you. And I also want to invite people to go to MikeyShow.com. On MikeyShow.com, I have something called the Help Page. And I'll be telling you about that in just a little bit, too. And what that thing does and what it's all about.
So check it out. 570-1949 is our number. And you can also reach us by text message. That's 949mikey at gmail.com. Kurt Cobain's daughter is going to make her singing debut. She is, yep. Right now she has her singing on MySpace and stuff, but she's going to be... Singing with a guy from My Chemical Romance and Weird Al Yankovic. No, come on. Yes, Frances Bean, who is 17 years old, is going to be singing. Yeah, she wants to be after her dad. And the debut album with these people is called Evelyn Evelyn. And it's going to be released the end of March, March 30th. Really? It's like such a random group of people. Well, it's a joke, right? No. You don't sing with Weird Al. Weird Al and My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way. He's a lead singer. And Andrew WK. I don't know who that is. He sang Have a Party or something. The four of them will be singing. It's called Evelyn, Evelyn. I don't get it. What's up with Betty White's Super Bowl commercial? I put it on my blog. What is it?
Well, Betty White is in a Snickers commercial and you get to see her playing football. Now, this is going to be airing during the Super Bowl. And so a little teaser has come out. And I just think she's so hilarious. She's almost 88 years old. No, now she is 88 years old. I'm sorry. And you can see her watching it. And also, I just want to point out that there are people on Facebook. Over 10,000 fans made a Facebook page to try to get Betty White to be a host of SNL because she's never done it. Really? And she would be brilliant. Yeah, SNL's been on for 37 seasons. Betty White's 88 years old, funnier than she's ever been. We need to do it. So go to this Facebook page, try to find it. Yeah, tell one of the Jonas brothers to step back for one week and let Betty White in. I mean, I can't believe they haven't done that yet. She's hysterical. Tell me about the Hubble telescope seeing Pluto changing color. Okay, here, let me just find it. That's cool. That is cool. I like space stuff. I know. Nerd. Yeah, dude. I'm nerd. I like hearing about stuff in space. Nerd. They got some new pictures from the Hubble Space Telescope. Look at that. You like that, Woodsy? Nude pictures. Nude. Nude. Sorry about that. N-E-W. Color me embarrassed. And Pluto is changing colors.
Oh, I thought that was a snore. Was it a snore? Oh, people are really into this. Oh, I think it's fantastic. Yeah, it's like red right now, and there's ice sheets all around it shifting. I'm going to get my Hubble out when I get home. Take a look at myself. What's on your desktop right there? It's what they gave me. A satellite picture of the world. It's the Earth, but it's what they gave me when I bought my new Mac. Get out of here. You don't think it's interesting that a planet's changing color? He's literally falling asleep. He's got his head back when he's falling asleep. Bless you. And then what's the deal with the ice sheets? Oh, I don't know. It says that the pictures show icy frozen nitrogen on Pluto's surface growing and shrinking, brightening. Stop snoring. That's not cool to you, dude. Come on, man. Brightening in the north and darkening in the south. You can see in this picture. Wow, it looks like a sonogram. Stop.
There's the head. Astronomers are saying, though, that it's changed 20% since the last time. It's 20% more red than ever, and it happened really quick. I mean, decades and decades, it never changed color. Now all of a sudden it is. 570-1949. At the beginning and end of every show, we do open phones, so you can call us about anything you want to. You can call right now, 570-1949. Give us a call. We would love to talk to you. The Kings of Leon brothers. Yes. Three brothers and one cousin. Saved their father's life. Yep. What's the deal with that? Nathan, Caleb, and Jared all did a little intervention for their father, Ivan, who has a serious drinking problem. And they did this back in December. The story just came out. And apparently he was very close to death. And they put him in a rehab and everything. And he's... Apparently doing a lot better, a lot of progress really quickly. And I think this is cool is Ivan. He'd been living in Oklahoma where the rehab is. And he started working part time painting houses because he'd wanted his sons to not pay for anything. Wow. Yeah. No kidding. Painting houses part time so that he could pay for his own care. Wow. Yeah. Love those boys, man. Some of the text messages that we're getting, Mikey, not all of us are Mexican. In fact, some of us are Spanish and find it annoying to be called Mexican.
I told you, dude. Thus the term Latino. Unless, of course, you're Mexican and your descent is from Mexico, which is mine. Well, that's why he can say that. If you're from Spain and someone were to call you a Mexican, obviously I would be like, I'm not. It's like calling us Canadian. Right. Stop calling me Mexican. I'm Spanish. Stop calling me that. Let's see. A. Mikey. They did the same thing to the game of life. It uses credit cards and an electronic thing. That's M1 Jadix. You're about to get knifed. Well, I thought the deal was I do it now and then it ends. You had your 35 spots that you never did. You're going to get knifed. So you got the 35 and then you got your five tail. Jay's beat red. He's beat red. I've never seen him mad. He is really mad at Mike right now. Can we get off and just come right back? I thought 45 was when I said sayonara. No? Well, you skipped commercials. This is great radio. I did. I'm pretty sure you did. This is what happens in a new studio. With a new crew. You try to figure out all the kinks and no one knows what's going on.
What do you got planned this weekend? Especially the program director is out of town. He's like, all right, have a good first week. I'm out. See you later. I know. What do you got planned this weekend? Okay, well, let's do this. Let's do this. Here's what we're going to do. Here's what we're going to do. We're going to put them all together. I know. I'll take the heat. I'll take the heat. You're going to be paying for all these commercials. Jay, lean against that door. Just lean against that door. Don't let anybody in. They're going to come barging in. I'm going to put them all together. Because we're going to say goodbye here. M1 Jenny? Yes. What's going on? Hey, what's up? This is Mikey? Yeah. Oh, cool. I didn't know if I was on yet. What's up, Mikey? You're doing a great job this week. I've been a listener for a long time, so I've heard your testimony many, many times. I know you're about to give it for the first time on the new show. But I just want to tell people, if they haven't gone to the help page, there's something really cool in there. If you go to see my testimony, I've heard your testimony so many times, but that video from, I think it's like a local campus that you were at. It's just so inspirational for people that don't know about Mikey and don't know really where to put him on your map yet as far as radio talk show hosts. You've got to check that out. It's kind of long. Watch it. Watch the whole thing until the very end. You're going to be surprised by a lot of the stuff you hear, but it's going to hit a lot of people right in the heart, right in the soul. It's stuff that people need to hear. Thank you. I just wanted to put that in before you go ahead and give your testimony.
Keep up the great job. It's awesome. And everyone's doing a really, really good job. Thank you. Thank you so much. I appreciate that. Basically, the deal with it is I just tell you my story. When I was, and this is hard to do. Every time I've done this a million times, man, every single time I do it, it's not easy. When I was five years old, I was sexually abused when I was five. Now, I tell you this story because I know that there's a lot of people that are listening right now that have been through something similar. And maybe they've never talked about it. They've kept that secret. It was when I was five, when I was about 10, 11 years old. A lot of that had turned into a lot of shame. I was about 10 or 11. And I felt a lot of feelings of just kind of worthlessness when I was 10 or 11 years old. The time I was getting into high school, getting into my early 20s, those feelings were there even more.
And a lot of people can relate to that. When I got into my late 20s and into my early 30s, I was drinking a lot. I've referred to it a lot of times as an emotional deformity. I've talked about it as an emotional deformity. It's kind of like if you were born and you were missing a thumb, you would do some pretty hard work to try to hide that from people. So my whole life, I tried to hide certain aspects of my life from people. And that was one of them. A lot of feelings of guilt and a lot of feelings of shame when I was growing up. So by the time I was in my 20s and 30s, I was doing anything that I could to try to hide that, including drugs and alcohol. I drank a lot and I did drugs. I did stuff to just try to cover it up. I was in my early 30s. I was drinking so much that my hands would shake in the morning until I drank. I would close all the blinds.
in the apartment that I lived in. I'd turn the phones off. I'd turn the ringers off. And I would take sleeping pills to go to sleep. And I got to a point where I knew that I was going to die. I knew I was going to die because I was so sick. My body was starting to reject the amounts of alcohol that I was drinking. And I got to a point where I was laying in bed one night and I was crying, but I wasn't crying like with noise. I was crying with that kind of cry where like... The tears are rolling down the side of your face, but you're not really making any noise. You just ask Jesus Christ to come into my life. In the last year, I've experienced stuff. I've experienced more stuff in the last year, I think, than ever in my life. My son, Jake, was diagnosed with autism on a Wednesday. And on a Thursday, my mom was diagnosed. The very next day, my mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. My dad had a heart attack last year, went to the hospital various times.
And I had an extremely painful situation happen with some close friends of mine that hurt me really, really, really bad. And the only reason that I was able to get through all of that stuff was because of Jesus Christ living inside of me. It's what got me to get away from that addiction. If there's anybody listening right now that feels desperate and lonely and can relate to any of that stuff that I just told you about, go to MikeyShow.com. And up at the top, there's a little thing you can click on that says help. And if you click there, it's going to give you resources that you can get for addiction or that you can find help for depression or that you can find help with any of those things if you go there. If you've experienced any of that stuff that I've told you about, if any of our history sounds the same, I play a song at the end of the show on Friday, and the song is about hope.
If you've never heard it, I really want you to listen to the words of the song. It's really, really cool. It's called Tunnel. And I tell you the story about how I found hope. And I invite you to listen to this song. Hillary's coming up next. The Mikey Show's first week under the books. We'll be back.
