The show opened up with Superbowl talk and out of that Woods announced because the Saints won, now “Reggie Bush has to marry it”. “It” being Kim Kardashian’s caboose. Mikey then introduced the M1 Dating Game. First up, M1 Megan, a young, strawberry haired girl whom this author thinks looks like Jesse from Saved by the Bell. Megan’s looking for her A.C. Slater and might even settle for Zack as long as he doesn’t smoke and isn’t poor. Further confusing men everywhere Sienna and Lauren then diss shopping at Tiffany’s for Valentines gifts. Hilarious argument follows. We then learn how to deal with screaming, crying babies. Woods talked about jackhole Warren Sapp tossing his girlfriend around the hotel room. Jay reveals his pet chicken, “Cricket” died and he mourned her loss by eating some hot wings. Cricket gave Jay “many a good egg” over the years.

KBCT San Diego, Lincoln Financial Media Station, the new home of The Mikey Show. This is FM 94.9. Get pumped up, I don't know what will. Welcome to the show, everybody. It's The Mikey Show. Monday morning after the Super Bowl. We got a lot to talk about today. Now, I'm going to give you our phone number in case you want to call us. Beginning and end of every show, open phone, so you can call us right now, 570-1949. FM 94.9 and the Mikey Show on the air. You can text messages to 949mikey at gmail.com is how you do that. My name is Mikey. I'm the host of the show. I'm 39 years old. And I'm going to be turning 40 May 31st. And I'm a little different than Lauren in that regard. Lauren cares about the age as a guy. What are you going to do?
Lordy, lordy. That's right. Look who's going to be 40. That's right. I'm all right with it. I've come to terms. Let's see. Woodsy is our sports guy. What's up, brother? Not too much, man. Did you get good sleep? I got phenomenal sleep. You did? Yeah, I did. I fell asleep about 8.30. Feeling like a million bucks. That's awesome. Yeah. Woodsy is 34 years of age. I am. And he is our sports guy. And Lauren O'Brien is... 29 years of age, but don't look it. Lauren looks a lot younger than 29. Yes, she does. It's amazing. Lauren looks about 25, actually. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And if she was being cast in a movie, she could probably go as low as 19, 20 years old. I could play Taylor Swift. You could. Yeah, she could. Easily do. She could. She could. She could. Sienna is 24 and is getting married in how many days? 19. 19 days. It's counting, though. So crazy. Well, I just checked on, we have a website where our registry stuff is and everything, and it counts down for you. So yesterday I found out, oh, we're only 20 days. Wow. Oh, man. It's a little scary. Can I just say, too, that this only comes up on the air. Sienna is not like, it's my wedding, it's my wedding, it's my wedding. Thank you. Yeah. She's not. She's so chill about it. She's not Bridezilla at all. No. I have one friend who shall remain nameless who is Bridezilla. Yeah.
She doesn't live in the city, but she's a nightmare. And she is a nightmare. I could tell that Sienna was not Bridezilla just by the fact that your wedding was like that. Oh, I know. Well, my mom's a wedding planner, so I have all the help in the world. And she wanted my wedding at a certain place where hers was and where my grandma's was. And they were booked for, you know, up until a year and a half. And she's like, let's just do it on this date because that was the only date they both had available. Yeah. And. We also have our boy Jay. What's going on? Also doesn't. You don't look your age either. Yeah, but it's bad we look 29. Yeah. Guy's 20. He looks 29. He's 46 years old. He's got four kids. I think the volume was changed on that thing, on that speaker. A little squeaky. That's better. That's better. 5701949. And we are going to be talking a lot of Super Bowl today. A lot of Super Bowl. It's a big thing. Why not? Yeah. What a game. What a game. It was a great game. Great game. But if I had to think of one thing that defined it for me, it was seeing Drew Brees. It's on the cover of the UT today. So cute. Yep. The cover of the UT says Super Saints, and it's a picture of Drew Brees, which, by the way, did Drew have surgery on the mole?
This is his birthmark. The birthmark. Yeah. He did it right before the game. Looks like a scar. Like a giant scar. It is a scar. It is. What's crazy is you would think he would do it after the game because he must have had stitches there for a while and he's practicing for the Super Bowl, probably getting hit in the face. Had to hurt. Yeah. They don't touch the quarterback. Ever. But there's a, you know, what they show on television is this image of Drew Brees after winning the Super Bowl, holding his little boy who's probably four or five months old, something like that. His clone. Yes. They look so much alike. Is he that young? He's got a full head of hair. Let me see the picture. I don't know. I'm good at this. I'm good. I'm awful at it. He is, I would say, 11, 12 months. 11 months. 14. He looks like a little Disney character. He does. He's so cute. Yeah, he is. And so. He's holding him. The little boy has on the little headphones, the ear protection that look like little... Earmuffs. Earmuffs. It's loud, you know. He's got to protect the ears. Very loud in there. And they're showing Drew Brees, and his eyes are filling up with tears. And he's looking at his little boy, and he's kissing his little boy's doughy little cheeks. You know what Drew Brees' wife is saying? Please let my son be good at football. Please let my son... How do you compete, you know?
Sure. I don't blame her. I mean, but that, oh man, what a neat, that was just a really cool moment. Looked like a really cool moment. Call us 570-1949 is the number. And yeah, so let's talk some Super Bowl. There's a bunch of angles. Here are the main angles. There's the game itself, there's the commercials, and then there's the performances. And so call us and you can talk to us about any of the above. 5-7-0, 194-9, and what you thought of all those different things. Woodsy, what stuck out in your mind the most? I think for me, man, the second quarter of the game was just huge for the Saints. Because all of us, we were all at Mikey's and we were watching the game. And, you know, they get up 10-0 on the Saints, you know, the Colts did. And, man, I was like, this is going to be a blowout. There's just no question. Manning's just going to dice these guys up. And next thing you know, the second quarter rolls around and the Saints just did. They took total control. Right. And I think they did 26 plays in the second quarter as opposed to six for the Colts, which was just huge. I just remember the first play, Peyton Manning's first throw. Mikey's like, oh, it's over. It's over. We all do. We're like, oh, that's game. Because it was a perfect throw. It was perfect. It's like you can't compete. He threw that ball to the size of a pinhead. It was the only space he had. It was amazing. Him and Brees are both known for their accuracy. Yeah, absolutely.
They started red hot. We're just looking at each other going, dude, come on. Give us a chance. Yeah. But that was huge. And then obviously, I mean, the onside kick was just unbelievable. I loved it. I thought it was the gutsiest call I've ever seen. Yeah, they did that. And then they did the two-point conversion. Like, they were taking chances. They went nuts. And they went for the touchdown on fourth down. They didn't get it. I mean, it was. We were all flipping out. Well, and I don't know if you guys watched any of the stuff that happened before the game when they were showing, it was, you know, pregame stuff. The nine-hour pregame show? I missed it, totally. I did too. Well, they were showing Peyton Manning walking into, getting off the bus and walking in there. I've never seen this look on Peyton Manning's face. It was just like this angry, you know, mean focus. But it was even beyond that. It was like... Almost angry, you know, with the furrowed brow and all that. And I was like, wow. He's a clown. There are people that like Peyton. He's not a clown. It's almost like you love him or you hate him. I've never liked him. He's just, to me, he's just a whine. He just whines. And he even had, you know, after the game he was talking about. I mean, hey, listen, those guys dropped some. They dropped touchdown passes. They dropped, you know, key third down, you know, completions that they should have had.
Well, he threw a couple of picks himself. Yeah, he threw one pick. But he was kind of not accurate in the last couple quarters. But I just always thought he was a clown. I mean, he's a great quarterback. Here's Peyton after the game. Well, yeah, certainly it was disappointing. We were down seven there and on a drive. You know, the drive before that was disappointing as well. We had a good drive going, got down there, had good field position. Had a second down when we threw a screen that really had a chance to be a big play. We lost yards on that. Had the third down that was incomplete. And then giving them good field position with the missed field goal. And then the Saints, of course, capitalized. I give the Saints a lot of credit. They played well in all phases. Made some critical plays on special teams. Defense made stops when they had to, and Drew did a good job getting his team in the end zone. They deserve to win today. Sienna, favorite commercial? Oh, without a doubt. The Doritos one with the little boy. The guy walks in. There's a guy walking in to go on a date with this woman, and the woman already has a little boy who's like five years old.
And the little boy says something to him that is just so perfect. And we have all these here. Let's see. Which one was it? Was that the Doritos and the kids? Yeah, that's it. It's one of the first Doritos. Hi. Thank you. Have a seat. Kyle, Jalen. Jalen, Kyle. Jalen, you play nice. I'll be right back. She walks away. He checks out her butt. Yeah. Little boy sees it. That was genius. What's going on, little man? I see you got your game skills down pat. Hi. You might have your hands full once. I'll pick up the controller. Put a bear. Put your hands on my Doritos. Oh, yeah. Jameson, are you playing nice? Two things. Keep your hands off my mama. Keep your hands off my Doritos. It's fantastic. So cute. Slaps him in the face. He slaps him. So did you guys know that all those Doritos commercials were created by viewers? I was wondering about that because I know they had those contests. Yeah. Those were all created by viewers? Yeah. Wow. Your buddy told me that. I had no idea. They were good, right? They were really good. Some of them were made for $300. Yeah. Really? Yeah, the dog collar one cost like $350. Oh, I didn't like that one. You didn't? It gave me the heebie-jeebies. It did? We all laughed at that one. My favorite was the, because I love auto-tune. Oh, yeah. Of course, that's your favorite. I thought of you right away. I was not at Mikey's party, and I thought of that right away. I was the only one.
at the party laughing hysterically out loud. No, everyone was laughing. Hey, what'd you get? A few things. Some Bud Light. Here we go. Baby, I'm gonna work this party. Oh my God. What party? Hey Brad, hey Mike, hey Dwight. Yeah, oh yeah. I got to make the party right. Make the party right. It's the sure sign of a good time. It's just right taste of Bud Light. Here we go. That's my guacamole. Gene Bain is the best with auto-tuned. Dude, he's great. I'm telling you, if you hear the word guacamole auto-tuned, it's just good. It's so good. It's just good. Peace Frog. Yes, one of my favorite Doors songs ever. Doors? Yes. Check it out. I didn't catch too much of the pregame stuff. But I did catch Bill Cower.
interviewing Plaxico Burris in prison. Heavy. Heavy. And Lauren, being Lauren, goes, we said, we were talking about this this morning, Lauren goes, Plaxico Burris is in prison? I didn't know that. You didn't know? No. So, call us with your Super Bowl stuff. What'd you dig? What didn't you dig? Did you like the who? Did you like the, you know, all the stuff. Call us. 570-194-9. It's flowing freely with speeds between 60 miles an hour and 65. An important message for Toyota owners, there have been a lot of people wondering about the Toyota recalls. Well, to get the facts and all the latest information, please visit toyota.com. I'm Stacey Cohen, FM 94.9. Now, back to the Mikey Show on FM 94.9. What is it? Nobody knows, dude. I'm telling you, man, I got a text message last night from somebody going, what's that noise? Nobody knows. We don't know what it is. It's the smoke monster from Lost. Yeah, it is. It's the smoke monster from Lost. I finally watched it, by the way, on Saturday. Lost? Mm-hmm. Was it good? Of course. Of course. Good. John Locke is the smoke. Whatever that means. No. Woods is the smoke monster. I'm the smoke monster. I am apparently the appetizer monster. I proved it real good yesterday. Yeah, you did.
Well, and it's so funny because you go to think about the party that you were at yesterday for the Super Bowl. We had a little get together and Woodsy put in his recap email. Woodsy says, Mikey's Super Bowl party was pretty solid. Very grown up. A lot of wine and spinach dip. Definitely a North County Super Bowl party. That's right. A lot of carafts of red wine and bread bowls full of spinach dip. It was so good. Caviar? Was there some caviar? No, there wasn't caviar. It was like baklava or something. I don't know. No, one of them was like nut-crusted goat cheese with balsamic vinaigrette. I was like, dude, do you have a pizza or maybe some hot wings? I brought wings. Were those wings? Weren't they boneless? Whatever. Yeah, those aren't wings. Yeah, that's not a wing. Boneless is better. This is disgusting, dude. It's easy. You don't have to deal with a mess. You just pop them in. I want to chew on a bone. I do too, dude. I want to crunch cartilage. I want to dip it in blue cheese and I want to eat it. Thank you. Yeah. I want to suck it off of this. That's right. That's. That's. That's easy. I'm teed up, dude. Yeah, so Bill Cowher interviewed Plaxico Burris.
Who's in prison. And Lauren didn't know why he was in prison. He's in prison because he went into a club. A club. And he was wearing, you know, like track pants. Weird. And he had a gun in his pocket. And it slipped and discharged and shot him. And the real bad part about it was that they, him and his buddies kind of tried to cover it up. Yeah. So is he in prison for like gun possession? Okay. And the DA basically said they were going to try to make an example of him. That's exactly what they did. And, you know, they wanted... And Cowher's his former coach. Yeah, Cowher's his former coach. And so it was a touching, powerful, powerful piece. You know, Plex, when you said goodbye to Tiffany and Elijah, when did it finally hit you that you were actually in prison? I think when I woke up that morning. You know, it was a surreal feeling that, you know, I remember that morning as if it was yesterday. I don't think for anybody that jail or prison is a part of the plan of life. You really don't know what to expect. I remember putting my suit on my son and taking that drive and going into that courtroom and kissing my wife and telling her everything's going to be okay and seeing her emotional crime. It cuts you deep. Pretty powerful piece. Very, man. The music was a little cheesy. Very touching.
It is, and because you've said that it's cheesy, I will go with that, even though inside, I'm sort of touched. Warm and fuzzy. Yeah. Here's an insensitive question. Okay. I didn't see it. Obviously, I didn't even know that Plaxico Burress was in jail. Right. How far was Bill Cowher's chin sticking out during that interview? Eight and a half. About a yard. About a yard. Yeah. They had to bring the chains out to measure it. And it was sticking out far enough that they got a first down. Nice. For sure. For sure. How much longer is he in? Do you know? He's got a while. It was a two-year sentence, I think. Two years? So he'll do half that. M1 Nation, hit the phones, man. 570-1949. Let's take some of your phone calls. We got M1 Nick on the line. What's up, Nick? Nick, you there? Turn your radio down if you call in, man. M1 Sooners fan. What up, Boomer Sooner? Hey, good morning, Mikey. Thank you for being back on the air. You are welcome, dude. Like a hamburger with no grease. I can eat it, but I ain't going to enjoy it. What's going on, man? Man, I can't help but be sad as a Chargers fan today that New Orleans has a Super Bowl with our old quarterback, man. It's killing me. Yeah, well, listen, we got a good quarterback.
I mean, we got a good quarterback. I was happy for Breeze for that reason. But do we have a champion? I mean, I agree he's a good quarterback. Now we've got a proven champion that we let go. That's a great point, man. Hey, this is head coach Norv Turner. Don't get on me. I mean, if you want to talk about it, it's fine. Just don't blame me for any of it because I can't go out onto the field and play for these guys. The best I can do is coach them up, and then it's up to them to go out and execute on the field. But I'll tell them what's important. I'll tell them important things. For instance, last week I said, guys, you're using the wrong filters for the coffee machine. They require the number four. Those are the cone-shaped ones, and you guys are trying to shove those round ones in there. I sent them a note about it, but I don't know how many of the players will actually follow up. Thank you. Thank you, Mike. Thank you, dude. Well, listen, I got a text message from... A friend of mine last night that said, I hope we're not going to start hearing a bunch of people say, oh, look what we let go. Look what we let go. We got a great quarterback. It's only natural, though, dude. It's only natural. I guess. You know? It isn't Phillip Rivers' fault that we're not in the Super Bowl. No. You know what I mean? And, yeah, Drew Brees is great. But it isn't Phillip Rivers. Phillip Rivers is a great quarterback. It's all part of the grieving process. It is.
First, you go through denial. Anger. Anger. Sadness. A lot of anger. Sadness. And then you get there. You're happy for him. It wouldn't have mattered who won last night. For me. I know Woodsy was really against seeing the Colts win, but either way, I wouldn't have cared. I didn't have a dog in that fight. Let me remind you that I did call it last Monday. Okay? I think three or four of us called it. Yeah, I called it. Did you call it? I know. Like... We all said that, and then Woods was like, I like how I called it. Yeah, I called it. I sent him a text message last night after the touchdown. Not the 31, but the 24-pointer or whatever. And I wrote, Saints! With all these exclamation points. And he wrote back, I called it. And then I said, so did I. So did I. I think the kid's brother actually won a little coin last night for once. Congrats, yeah, finally. That's cool. Was anybody confused by the... David Letterman with Jay Leno. Very. Very confused. We all talked. I was at a Super Bowl party at my friend Mike and Melissa's house. Yeah. I'd just like to interject a little shout out. Yeah. Because Mike is over at the Edson Range at Camp Pendleton. Sweet. And all the Marines there are listening to us. On top of all the good things they do for us, they're all listening to us. That's cool. But yeah, we were all like, all of us kind of looked at each other like totally bewildered. Like, what was that? Why? What?
Well, because Jay Leno, obviously, and Letterman are a competition, but they're also on different networks, and they're sitting, Oprah Winfrey's sitting in between them. Here's a commercial. If you missed it, here's what it sounded like. This is the worst Super Bowl party ever. Now, Dave, be nice. I'm just saying that because I'm here. I'm just saying that because I'm here. And that's it. I loved it. It was so fast. It was so weird. I loved it. I get the point that they're saying that Jay Leno is kind of a crybaby. But in what universe should he be promoting the competitor's late night show? Right. I just don't get it. Yeah. I didn't understand it. I don't think anyone did. I think it's funny, though. I think Letterman doing his imitation of Leno's genius. That was. Oprah looked really weird, too. Yes, she did. That's weird. I didn't notice how Oprah looked at all. She looked really weird. She looked weird and nervous. Like, where did her acting skills go since The Color Purple? Like, she looks like some random person. That's a great point.
That's a really great point. You know, she, like, got nominated for an Oscar for The Color Purple and then suddenly couldn't act. She doesn't need to prove herself anymore, I guess. Yeah. The Betty White Snickers commercial? I still haven't seen it. Are you kidding? And I was the one talking about it, like, all week. You were so excited about that. And it was when I went to get some more dip, I'm telling you. Hysterical. What is your deal, man? Oh, come on, man. You've been riding me all day. That's not what your girlfriend said. Use Snickers. Better? How about that? That hurt. You're not you when you're hungry. Snickers satisfies. Abe Vigoda gets tackled at the end of it. Dude, the dude played Fish in the TV show Fish. Was that other girl Scarlett Johansson or no?
No. No? I would have noticed that. Get Scar Joe out of there. I would have noticed for sure. Biggest debate at our house was The Who. The Who? That's right. That wasn't even a debate. Yeah, it was you against the world. It was me against the room. What were you saying? No, Todd had your back. I said The Who is a brilliant, brilliant... groundbreaking band, and there's no question they should play the Super Bowl. All those clowns wanted to see Daughtry or... I didn't say. No one said Daughtry. Or Hinder or, you know. He goes, dude, sorry it's not Hinder. Who is Hinder? Hinder is... Exactly. The nips of an angel. The nips of an angel. Oh. Well, my thing was, is I'm like, listen, can't we get somebody from, you know... This decade? They will always be relevant, though. Always. It's Pete Townsend and Roger Daltrey. Yeah. Then why was Dana Carvey playing the drums? I know, dude. I know. And the other guys, the bassists and the keyboardists, were getting no camera time at all. No camera time. None. It was Dana Carvey and Pete Townsend and Roger Daltrey the whole time. Did he not look like Dana Carvey? I was like, wait, that's not the original drummer, right? No, he did. And they just looked at me at the party and I was like, yeah, that guy's like 12. Well, yeah, it was the original.
drummer's grandson. Exactly. But that's the thing. It's like, I go, because Woodsy goes, well, who would be better? I go, what about like Jay-Z and Rihanna? Like they're relevant. You see them every day. I mean, really? But they're relevant. Who cares? The Who is relevant. The Who is not relevant, but the Who is classic. The Who is relevant. But where did they come from? Like, are they going on tour again? No, I mean, I know that. I'm saying they're just random. Why are they so random? It's so cool. They're like, the Who. They have to be going back on tour or something like that. It's the Who. I mean, they can do whatever they want. The National Football League presents the Bridgestone Super Bowl 44 Halftime Show. How many times do you think that woman? Practice that line. 144. So many times. And she just nailed it. She nailed it. I mean, listen to that, dude. Yeah, it sounded great. And I did give you that. I said, it sounds great. He was having a little tough time with the high notes. He's like 70. Yeah. What about Carrie Underwood? She was having a tough time, too. Really? I didn't see that. I thought that was bad, too. Carrie Underwood looked...
So beautiful, though. Oh, my goodness. Was she in the pregame show? I'm so jealous of her. She sang the national anthem. Oh, I miss that. And I thought... It was a bit pitchy. Oh, I thought it was... Yeah, it was a little pitchy. I thought it was great right up to the last note. She did... And the last note, she's... I guess during rehearsals, everyone was saying it was perfect, flawless. And then she did it, and they're like, oh, what happened? And I didn't think it looked anything like Carrie Underwood. Have you run some of that who back over there? She's all famoused out now, you know, all the makeup and the tanning. I'll give you a second of it. She's like plastic. Yeah, she looks like a Barbie. She looks beautiful. What am I hearing in the background, by the way? Like, shouldn't it be her? What are you cheering? No, you're right. It's a national. Yeah, she's quiet. Quiet. Take your hat off. Yeah. She hasn't messed up one note yet. It's the end. It's the end. Perfect. She's doing it so original, though. You know, like, usually they switch it up a little bit. If I, if there was somebody next to me cheering, like, I hear this cheering, I'd be like,
Can you callate? Yeah, callate la boca. Excellent. She's wearing all white. Only Carrie Underwood can pull. No, I was jealous. She looks phenomenal. I just looked at the picture. She looks great. She's an angel. She's got a little Elvis suit going on there. Guys are not in on that hairstyle, though. Other girls look at that hairstyle that she has. And other girls go, Oh, gorgeous. Beautiful. Yeah, it was like wild looking. Which I believe that they think that because they instantly see that other men wouldn't find it attractive, so women are attracted to it and go, I like it. The messy pony? We like the difference. The messy pony. You don't like the messy pony? What? I'm not a fan of the messy pony. Get out of here. Get it together, okay? Uh-oh. Perfect up till now. Five. Mistaken. Three, two, one. Nope.
Maybe this is the warm-up we're listening to. No, it's right here. Right there. That was it. But other than that, but other than that one note. It wasn't even bad, but we just have to say it wasn't perfect. I know. It was that one note. And everyone say, oh, she totally messed it up. She's like, no. Not at all. And you know what it proves to me is that she didn't lip-sync it, which is great. Now, Queen Latifah. What's the deal? I miss this too. She's like the girl that's just always there. Like, what does she do? What do you do? What would you say you do here? Get out of here. Queen Latifah? Yeah. Who cares? I don't understand it. Get out. Just get. So the who is more relevant than Queen Latifah. Well, Queen Latifah always gets these moments that are so huge. And I'm like, why? You know? You're good. Whatever. You're not great. I'll tell you why. I think that people find Queen Latifah very likable. Yeah, she's a likable lady. She's not. I like her. If we're going to do that, Will Smith, man. I can't there. Dan Will Smith. Clay Aiken. Clay Aiken. I don't know if you heard. Morning of the Super Bowl yesterday. How about Warren Sapp getting arrested? It's heavy. He's off NFL Network, Woodsy. Yes.

And M1Site.com is up and running. That dude did not miss a beat. No. I mean, it was seamless. Yeah. It's up, it's running, and it's awesome. And he sent me a video tutorial of how to use it. M1 Nation is what we are known as. And spread the word, man. An M1, here's what an M1 is. When an M1 calls the show, they turn their radio down, get to the point and don't cuss. They listen exclusively to the Mikey Show. That's an M1. And so we want to hear from you, man. And I love that it's new and I love that it's ours. I love that nobody's using that in the country. Because the truth is, is that I loved the term P1. The truth of the matter is that that's been used all over the country, and I love the fact that we are something that nobody else is. And that's cool. 570-1949 is our number, and you can text us as well, 949mikey at gmail.com. Woodsy has so much stuff today, obviously. Seriously. But this deal with Warren Sapp, what happened? Well, as I understand, they were partying out in South Beach the night before the Super Bowl. He was with his girlfriend. He's been with her a couple of years. And basically, man, he was arrested and booked on one charge of misdemeanor domestic battery. Basically, what had happened is she went home. He stayed out with his boys, came back later, got mad at her for something, kind of threw her around a little bit. And, dude, just...
Just bad. It's just bad. So, I mean, he had to get up and go to work. You know, the next day was the Super Bowl. That's why he was there. And he got out of jail at about 11 a.m. when everybody, I mean, they had been up and working and they said, dude, don't bother coming in today. Now, that is consequence and it's pain that is deserved because it's, you know, he did it and he's got to have consequence. I wonder, you know, and I think to myself, that must. just from a human standpoint, must have been the worst feeling in the world when you're like, I just ruined my life. You know? Yeah. What an idiot. I hurt somebody. She had physical bruises and bumps on her body. I hurt somebody. I hurt somebody. I'm, you know, I'm going to experience shame like, you know, never before. Yep. And my career is over. Well, that was my gig more than likely. Yeah. And it's a consequence. Yeah, rightfully so. Rightfully so for doing something stupid. You are an ex-NFL player.
Tossing around a woman. Yeah. It's just terrible. It's a shame, dude. Because I always liked Warren Sapp. I always thought he was a good dude. And I love NFL Network's coverage. That's what I watched. It's phenomenal. It's so good. But I even noticed, oh, yeah, he wasn't there yesterday. What else going on? Well, so obviously the Super Bowl was yesterday. Saints won 31-17. And I think, you know, besides the onside kick, the Peyton Manning interception to Tracy Porter was pretty sweet. I got a little audio of that for you. Picked off. You know what's cool about Tracy Porter, too? What? About three hours before the game, he went and got his haircut and got the Lombardi trophy shaved into his head. Is that what that was? And 44.
for Super Bowl XLIV. I was finding all these stories like haircut predicts the win, and it's like, what? That's the dude that caught the pick and ran it back. We thought it was a duck on his head. It was awesome. I did too. I thought it was a duck. We flipped out at Mikey's house when that happened. I mean, we absolutely flipped out. We were just like... What was it like at yours, Lauren? Lauren couldn't make it, so at your party, people flip out at that? Yes, all four of us were going nuts. Wheatgrass everywhere. Yogurt slashes on the wall. So healthy, yeah. We should get some frozen yogurt after this. Just granola all over the floor in the morning. We just got so crazy. We were throwing wheatgrass juice everywhere. Just empty bottle waters just littering the floor. No way. I would never do that. Did you feel guilty gorging yourself on pita chips? We actually did have peanut chips. Of course you did. Quite a few, and we gave the rest of them to a homeless woman last night. That's very sweet of you. That's very, very nice of you. M1 Nick disagrees with Woodsy on Peyton Manning, and maybe I do, too. Go ahead, M1 Nick. Hey, how's it going? Welcome to the best radio station. Thank you, brother. Yeah, the best talk show in the county. Thanks, man. Glad to have you here. Go ahead, man.
But Manning, he handled himself with plastic always. I think so, too. I had read a little bit after the game that he was really complaining on the drops. He was complaining about Austin Colley not turning up field when he caught that screen. He wouldn't. What are you expecting? I don't think so. He was. What is he supposed to do? Was Austin Colley and the boys talking about that terrible throw that he made that basically cost them the Super Bowl? No. Yeah, exactly. You don't call people out, dude. Woodsy thinks that Peyton is a whiner. He's a whiner. Watch him. I'm not a Peyton fan either, but that's just because it's like you always want the underdog. He's always been at the top. His dad, his brother, he's just like, get out of here with all your money. He's classy. Guy married his high school sweetheart, stays out of trouble. He's funny in his commercials. Yes, he is. People used to say that about Tiger Woods. Yeah, exactly. Mr. Class. Peyton's a great quarterback. Like I said, he's a surgeon. He's an idiot savant when it comes to football. He knows the game, and he's a good ambassador for the game. But watch him after he throws an incomplete pass. He's always just kind of... He was beet red. Did anybody see that? He was furious. Yeah, he was. Now, do you mean as opposed to the other guys that throw an incomplete and they're like... Yeah, incomplete! No, I mean, but you can't whine and show people up, dude. I'm a baseball player. You don't show people up. And he's a big fan of showing people up. He publicly...
publicly complained about his... I don't like that because I'm an Eagles fan and T.O. did that with Donovan McNabb and you do not rat out your other team. You don't show people up on your same team? M1 Nick, what do you think about that, dude? I'd like to know where he read this at. Yeah, me too. I haven't seen it myself. I'll post it in my blog tonight. Alright. Thank you, M1 Nick. Nation, call in. M1 Nation, you can reach us at 570-1949. Or, if you'd like, you can text us, 949mikey at gmail.com. Did you know that they had a three-game losing streak going into the playoffs, too? Which I thought was pretty, that's pretty crazy, dude. I didn't even think about that. Three games in a row they had lost. I didn't even think about that. Well, did you at any point think to yourself that, remember when the Colts gave that win up, when they were on their unbeaten streak? Yeah, yeah. And they basically said, well... We'll give this one away to the Jets. Yeah, we're going to give it away because they put in their backups. And even the players were upset and everything. Do you think Woodsy had anything to do with it? Probably not. Probably not. I mean, Manning, like I said, Manning's one of those guys that you could pull him off the street. And he's going to be prepared. He's going to know what to do. So I just think it was all rolling in the Saints' way last night, man. The onside kick was just so huge. I think what they say, it was the only onside kick attempted before the fourth quarter in Super Bowl history. And it worked.
And they scored. It kicked off the second half, right? Yeah, it kicked off the second half. It was amazing. So I had a couple of really funny observations. Does anybody know why that kicker? Garrett Hartley. Garrett Hartley puts on one glove. One glove on his right hand before he kicked off. Can I just tell you? So we're watching the game. And Woodsy goes. They show him. And he's got the one glove on. And Woodsy goes. Why is he wearing one glove? Why is he wearing one glove? Why is he wearing one glove? It made no sense to me, dude. And does Sean Payton wear eyeliner? He said that too last night. He said it looks like he had eyeliner on. I go, can't a guy just have beautiful lashes? Long lashes? He probably just has, yeah, long lashes. Beautiful lashes, bro. Yeah, I just kept looking into his eyes going, why is he wearing eyeliner? Yeah. Between that and Garrett Hartley with the one glove, I'm like, hey, Garrett. That's exactly what I was thinking. What are you doing with that? How come it doesn't have sequins on it? One glove. I was like, what are you, Michael Jackson, dude? Yeah. We 100% have to keep that line that Wood just said. I was looking into his eyes. Yeah. I kept staring into his eyes. Crazy. You got to get dolled up for the Super Bowl, I guess. Yes, you do.
It was an awesome game, dude. We had an awesome time. I just like, is it just me or were there some of the worst dropped balls ever? Oh, my God. I know. Direct hits in the chest and they were dropping balls. Off the guy's face mask. I'm like, it's the Super Bowl. You got to make those plays, man. Are you kidding me? You got to make those plays. It's like a 12-year-old girl on the field. Yeah. Well, they were nervous. I understand that, but there was like three or four. It was just awesome to see, dude, and I got a little breeze talking about after the game, too. We just believed in ourselves, and we knew that we had an entire city and maybe an entire country behind us, and what can I say? I've tried to imagine what this moment would be like for a long time, and it's even better than expected, but God is great, and we've got the best ownership family in the league, best head coach, best... General manager and the best team, and we proved that here tonight. Thank you. Kim Kardashian painted her nails. They were gold, and in purple it said Bush. We were looking for her. Did they show her? I'm sure she was there. I'm sure she was in a box. Well, for those of you who don't know, Kim Kardashian is Reggie Bush's girlfriend. Yeah, all week she was in Florida driving around in an armored limo. And I think the deal is that Bush said that if they won the Super Bowl, he would propose. So now he's stuck.
He's got to marry it. Really? Remember what you said? Remember what you said? I have it recorded. It's on my cell phone. Are you okay with him saying he's got to marry it now? Are you alright with that? He's going to marry it now? Why are you saying it? I was talking about her butt. Because it's very prominent. He's got to marry both of them. I think she's gorgeous. I don't watch her show. I don't know if she's annoying or cool. I love that show. She's super smart too. She's intelligent. Are you being sarcastic because I don't know anything about her either? I don't either. She's not. Don't know anything about her. Very bright, no. You guys could be saying anything about her right now. I wouldn't know. She's smoking. 570-1949 is our number. 949mikey at gmail.com is how you get a hold of us by text message. Okay, so a little bit more on the performances. I don't know who was paying attention to the musical part of the stuff that happened. Jay-Z had like a produced thing to start the Super Bowl off that was, I don't know, I thought it was kind of cool. I always feel like the dork, though, when stuff comes on. I always want to wait to hear what people say in the room because I feel like people are going to judge me if I like something. We're going to judge you. I go, oh, this is, I'm looking around. Let's hear it. If I see smiles, I'm like, cool. Yeah, I do. You turn it up even really loud. Love it already.
Why are you rolling your eyes, Lauren? You don't like Rihanna? Rihanna, just take a break. Is it overplayed for you? It's been done, dude. It's so overplayed. She did take a break. I think she's great. Wait a minute. The same guy that thought that The Who, who you've heard 975,000 times, believes that Rihanna is overdone. Yeah. Great voice. Every song of her sounds the same to me. It's that same intonation with the... She's got a good voice. It's unique. If I was Beyonce, I'm just going to say this right now, I would not be happy about the Jay-Z and Rihanna relationship. They're like, he's really protective of her, and they're really close, and they collaborate on songs, and I'd be like, whoa, whoa, whoa. Why don't you collaborate with me, your wife? Why are you guys so happy working there? Why are you going to be on this 20-year-old? It's like Todd with you and I. Yeah, it's really the same exact thing. He did. Todd told Woods, you can, because we have like a bickering, like we're married, you know, Woods and I, and he's like, you can have her from six to ten. I get her after that. Love it. 570-1949 is the number here. It's a Mikey show. Avatar, dethroned kids. Nerds. Come on. Dethroned, right? After seven weeks, yeah. After seven weeks? Seven weeks being number one. Only the biggest movie, like I told you on Friday. This is a huge movie and you guys were giving me a hard time. And it goes by the name of Dear John. Dear John. We'll be seeing it Wednesday.
You know, I'm open to suggestions, you know. No, it's your day. You get to pick. I know. But I really, the one I really want to see is Valentine's Day. But you said that you heard that this dear John, didn't you say your sister saw it and thought it stunk? My sister, she didn't say it stunk. She said that she definitely cried. My sister is in high school. And she said she definitely cried, but it wasn't like anywhere near as good as The Notebook. It wasn't, you know, she was a little disappointed. Which sister? Avalon. She's 16. Yeah, my daughter saw it and she said, Dear John, I want my money back. I guess 84% of the people that went to see this movie were female and two-thirds were under the age of 21. Oh, man. Channing Tatum will get you, dude. I know. That guy will get you. Dear John, I don't want to see you. But from Paris with Love, that came in third and that was supposed to be a big one with John Travolta and John, what's his name? Reese Myers. Jonathan Reese Myers. Avatar was number one for seven weeks. That's incredible. A lot of nerds in this world. Stop. Oh, please. As soon as it's out on video, you're going to be the first person. 0%. I will never see it. Trust me. I don't watch alien movies. No, he's going to be flipping through them. He's going to be flipping through them. He's going to see it, and there's going to be nothing on it. He's going to watch it. I may watch it when it comes on FX. And at the end, he's going to be like, yay! He's going to cry during the set. Avatar! Avatar! That's right. Never. The M1 Nation can call us 570-1949. You can also reach us by text 949mikey at gmail.com. And M1 Thomas, don't be ashamed. Go ahead. Tell us. What's the deal? Hi, Mikey. I'm kind of ashamed here, but I'm going to go ahead and let you guys know because I'm just trying to be a good M1. I went to go see it with my wife and my sister. Wait, wait, wait. Dear John or Avatar? Dear John. Okay, yes. Dear John. I cried a few times. Nice. You guys, bring your tissue. You're going to need it on Wednesday. It is. It is. The guy saw it and he liked it. What are you going to do? The ending was eh, but the movie itself, it was kind of touching. That's what my sister said. The movie was not that great. I'm going to weep. I guess the end is different than in the book. Well, we're probably going to see it on Wednesday. What we do is, as a show, go to the movie on Wednesdays.
You guys can bring your own cars. If it's that bad, go ahead and go. No, we should all ride together from now on. It's my turn. I agree, so we can't leave. Can we bring our iPods in case we want to listen to something else? That's terrible. You guys will all be crying. You're going to say, Sienna. Thank you. You guys should record Wednesday. Thank you. That's right. I probably will. Record him weeping? Yeah, we should. Probably will. He has a big softie. And Sienna is really, you know, between Sienna and Lauren, Sienna is more of the chick flick type. Lauren, you're not really a chick flick type, right? Love them. Lauren likes documentaries. That's right. With subtitles. See, when there's a subtitle, I'm immediately out. No, I don't like subtitles, Woods. I came to watch a movie, not read a movie. Yeah, it's got to be by Al Gore. Anything with you granting it, count me out. Count me out. Love Actually is one of the best movies. Isn't it, Mike? Notting Hill is genius. Notting Hill is genius. It's great. You guys will be happy to know that the swine flu, they say, is on its way out. Perfect. Yes. Thank you very much. How do they know this? There's been no new activity from the swine flu in four weeks.
You know that they say that it was, you know, mostly it was passed between people, young people, 18 to like 27 years of age, something like that. I'm making up statistics. Sounds about right. It was young people, you know, and it's because all that making out and all that stuff, you know, and over there in the PB. Yeah. In the PB. They get over there in the PB and they start to do the grind dancing. The Frenching. The French. Yeah, they start. A lot of Frenching. So gross. They French. hardcore while they're grinding on the dance floor. That's how I got mono. Yeah. Did you have mono? Yes. I've had mono too. You guys both got it from Frenching. We got it from Frenching. Either that or beer pong. I was only 14 though. Of course you were. That's true. How old were you? I was 20. Yeah? Yeah. It was brutal. How long do you keep that mono? I don't know. No, I think it remains dormant in your system for, if not forever, for a while. Really? Yeah. So you still technically have mono? I don't know. I don't know. I just remember I was out of school in high school as a freshman for a month, maybe a little more. And when I came back, I was like 15 pounds skinnier. And all my friends were like, just kiss me, share a drink after me. Give me whatever you have. And I was like, oh, maybe I should catch mono right now. It's like a loose little loose from LBs. Do you want to know the worst thing about me having mono?
This is terrible. I was sophomore in college. Yeah. Partying just a little bit. Yeah. And I hadn't gone to one of these classes of mine for about a month. Yeah. Nice. Hi, mom and dad. And I told the professor said, where you been? And I went into his office hours and I said, you know, I'm sorry. I just I had mono and this and that and the other. And he let me do all this makeup work, extra credit. I ended up getting an A in the class. And that that would never happen to me. But I don't. Why is that bad? It's not bad. That's so lucky. But the semester, this was spring semester of my sophomore year. Yeah. That summer, I stayed for May session, which you basically, you just stayed, took one class and partied. Yeah. First day of May session. Ooh, my lymph nodes are a little swollen here. Mono. Mono. You got it back. Mono. I didn't have it. She didn't have it the first time. I lied. I thought you were telling the truth. Oh, yeah, that's the ultimate. Karma, man, it gets you. Gets you. That was a lesson well taught. Yeah. Didn't do that again, right? No. Sienna has a list of men's most annoying habits, and let's see how many I fall under. I know. I have a feeling woodsy.
Maybe all of them. Actually, no, you're not the first one. The first one is overzealous light turning off, which is 100% my fiance. Can you turn off the light? There's a lamp right here. Oh, it's nuts. So, you know, girls leave lights on and guys just hate it. Yeah, my dad was big in the military, and that was like a thing. I thought it was a military thing, but maybe it isn't because you guys are awesome. I do it. It's a dad thing. I'm a woman. I do it. You do it? Oh, my dad 100% too. We had a surprise party for my dad one time, and he didn't know we were all in the living room, and he walked in from work, walked down the hall, and he goes, why is every light in the house on? And then he walks out to the foyer, and the whole family's there. We'd flown in for his birthday. Oh, man. But at first he was angry. Yeah, he walked in. Why is every light in this house on? And then he walks in and we're like, surprise, dude. Happy birthday. I thought you were supposed to turn off the lights when someone's coming home. No, dude. It was classic. Love you, Dad. What else? Leaving wet towels on the bed. Woods. 100%. 100%. See, I'm the one that does that. Todd does not do that at all. I don't do that either. 100%. Lauren? The wet towels. Yeah. Does your boyfriend leave wet towels? Everywhere. He does? Yeah. I don't know. I put the towel back. Well, first of all.
This is a whole other topic, but this has actually come up on the Mikey Show before, is how often do you wash your towel? Oh, that's a good question. Yeah, and I go to the same towel for a while. Yeah, three times maximum for me. Three or four times, yeah. Three times. Are you guys lying? No, that is the truth. I go like a week, probably. Me too. Yeah. Because I'm thinking to myself, I'm clean. I'm getting out of the shower, I'm clean. I don't know, but then it's like moldy almost. It doesn't smell as fresh. Yeah, because I leave it on the bed. That's me too. So there you go. That's why. I know. These are annoying habits that men have. Things that men do. This is the biggest one. I cannot disagree with it. 110% of men all do this. What? Turn into big babies when they're sick. 100%. When Todd gets sick, I'm like, oh, there goes my week. Yeah, you're done. Done. Just get away from me. We want you to mother us. Exactly. That's exactly what it is. And it's like, when we're sick, it's like, stop complaining. Yeah, quit crying, dude. What? Suck it up.
I know. Rise above. Yeah. My mom didn't complain. Why should you? Right. Exactly. Is that what it is? That was your mom and you were her child. Yeah, yeah. It's supposed to be like my partner. I want my girlfriend or my wife, you know, now. But I want my wife or my girlfriend. You want them to be like, oh, what can I do? But everybody knows that women have a higher. Yes. No question. It's true. I mean, I do the babying. I make sure he's taken care of and I bring him soup, but there's sometimes when it's like, dude, you're fine. Get over it. You don't actually say that. You don't say that ever, right? You think it. I do sometimes. You do? If I give him the same cold and it's a million times worse when it hits him, you know, I'm like, come on. I just had it. It's so funny. Women. think hate because guys are so bad on the phone like if you were to accept woods you're probably like chatting away i talk to like 10 friends a day yeah you do you have your your phone so sewn onto your i get like daily phone calls from woods like so what's up how was your day just just gabbing just girl talk you know mike no not good on the phone i am not a phone i like the phone i get it from my mother she's like all day long on the phone
Really? All day long. I'm the same. I did it for a living, like talked on the phone. Did you guys know this about me? I don't ever keep my ringer on. Me neither. It's always on vibrate. My ringer is always off. Mine too. Off? You just see it flash? I either see it or I would rather just get the message later. I don't like to talk on the phone. I don't like to talk on the phone. You do have sometimes like a six-hour lag in texts. Yeah. You know? You better hope you get lucky and Mike sees it. I'm pretty busy, though. That's the good thing about guys, though, is you can do that, and you have your phone usually in your pocket, so you feel it. Like, I never would feel my phone. You know, I always have to have it ringing. Yeah, well, that is so... I don't understand. The annoying thing about guys, that these are things that... Is there so bad? Like, if you're out of town, and we really miss you, and it's like, how was your day? It was good. It's like, well, what did you do? You know, just nothing. Look, it's an example here. I went... And I had lunch at a Subway. What kind of sandwich did you have? Really, babe? Honestly? Well, was it the meatball one? Because those are supposed to be the worst sandwiches in America. Or was it like a veggie? Those are good for you.
It was a veggie. It was a veggie. No, it wasn't. Tell me the truth. All right. It was a turkey sandwich. With meatballs. Are you really as a girl? No, no. See, because that's the thing. Like, what are we talking about? We do that. My mom used to do that. And I thought, why do you care? She would ask me all these details about the birthday party. What kind of cake was it? Oh, what did everybody else bring? Oh, yeah? Were you the only one wearing a dress? Yeah, it's like... And now I do it. And do you do that now? Now I do it to Matt and I catch myself, but I need to visualize the entire picture in my head. What is he like with it when you start to ask him questions? He gets irritated. You can tell? Oh, yeah. Yeah, you're like the Riddler. Yeah. I come home and it's like, oh, my God, here, let me just write out my list of questions and my answers for your questions. Let me go to bed now, please. Fill out the survey of your day, please. Yeah, exactly. Are you on the school newspaper? What are you asking so many questions for, dude? We want to hear that you missed us. Ask us about our day. Come on now. It's awful. The last thing, really quick, is just leaving a trail of something around the house. Guys are so known for it. Say your guy likes cheese or something. He'll leave the little wrapper of cheese in random places. I call it the man pile. Yeah.
I call it the crack den next to my bed. It looks like. It's awful. Right there. Like you're looking right here. Right next to his neck. It looks like a crack den. Hey, fellas. The way that you do that is 949mikey at gmail.com. And this is kind of cool. I'm going to be doing the M1 dating game. It's going to be awesome. And here's the way that it's going to work. In just a little bit, We're going to be on MikeyShow.com. We're going to be putting up a picture of Megan. And you can get to see what Megan looks like because we're going to be fixing one of you dudes up with Megan. Okay, now Megan is 23 years old. She's from Poway. Beautiful girl. She's 5'7", strawberry blonde hair, blue eyes. Hottie. Hottie. Hottie Matottie. And let me tell you how we met her. It was me, Woods, my wife, and Jay.
went out to dinner one night to the strip club. Yeah. Don't freak out. There's even a billboard that says... I love that billboard. It's just steak. Yeah. The billboard says don't... It's like don't trip out or something. Don't flip out. Don't flip out. It's just steak. A lot of men come in and they're very confused. Yeah. It's not an actual strip club. They're like, damn it. That was a great marketing move. I know. Well, the idea is that it's like New York strip steak and you go in there and you cook. They bring you the stuff and you take it to a grill. Killer place, man. Oh, it's awesome. It is so cool. So good. And so M1 Megan recognizes as soon as we walk in, hey, what are you guys doing? And she was our server. And so we're talking to her over the course of dinner. She's a really nice girl. We find out that she's single. And we're like, why? What's the deal? How's that happen? Did they leave a good tip? Yes. You guys treated me very well. Thank you. That's right. And so we asked her. We said, well, what's the deal? She said, guys out there, you know. Same story. It's the same story probably every single girl has. Yep. Hey, by the way, do you have the single girl? You had a single girl thing, Sienna, about the mistakes. I do. Right? Mm-hmm.
Let's read some of those. Megan, tell us if any of these relate, because Sienna has a thing that came out today that's the mistakes single girls make. Seven mistakes single women make. I don't know if I want to admit to anything. You know what? I mean, just speak the truth. Honesty is good. Women always feel entitled. Yeah, well, I see. Elaborate, please. Yeah. It says what you think of as quirky, endearing, as cute is really annoying most of the times to guys. But entitled means I deserve this. Yeah, but like because I look like this or I am like that, you should be doing this for me. Oh, I am not that girl. I don't think so. I encountered a woman this weekend that was very, very beautiful and walked. She was like in my space as if I were a piece of furniture. And I was like, I wonder if that's because this was happening in turtle dialogue was, I wonder if that's because she's so pretty. Probably. Yeah. You think? Yeah. Would this work as an example, too? If you're out on a date, the girl could think because you're on a date with her, she could just take a bite of your food. Yeah. So draw back a stump. Would that be really? Yeah. Don't eat off my plate. Wouldn't bother me. I think a good example would be like pretty girls going to a bar or a club and like flirting with men. Or thinking. Yeah. Great example. Yeah.
We're talking to you. You're not going to buy me a drink. Come on. Really? Shady. We think we have ultimate options. This is the single girl talking. Like, for example, you walk into a store. You're like, I'm here to get a sweater. And I want it to be cashmere. And I want it to be red. And I want it to be on sale. You know, like just thinking they can find these things. That sounds like entitlement. Relationship girls do that as well. They do. Yeah. That's true. That's true. But also as far as like finding the perfect guy. You can categorize that the same way. Like I want a guy that's like this and like this and like this. And it's like, come on. But we should. There's how many people in the world? Yeah, but. We shouldn't be settling. I think that you're. I think you should settle. No. No one is perfect. Like we're not perfect. Take the first guy that comes along. No. But there are glaring qualities that. will match up, fundamental qualities that will match up or will not match up. You should have some standards. Lauren, you would turn a guy, if you were single right now, you would turn a guy, you would probably turn a guy down if he wore the wrong shoes. No. No? No, not me. That's not you? No. I can honestly say I would have never.
ever signed up to date a divorced guy with a kid and now I'm marrying one, you know, and I don't want it any other way. See how unusual because Rebecca put a list together and it was short, chubby Mexican. Yeah, Latino. I'm talking fundamental, like, morals and stuff. It's okay to have a short list, but when you go into, like, those little specifics, I think... I'm 5'6", so the list, I mean, I guess that was short. But no, like, if you want a guy that can make you laugh, that's a really important thing to lots of girls. And if he's, like, smart, like, get out of here. Hey, Lauren, didn't Matt have to just knock the door down to get you to go out with him? Uh... I mean, isn't that the story he tells? It's like she would not have anything to do with me. Well, that's because I wanted to remain single because I was embarking on a journey to another country when we started. He started courting me. I get the feeling, though, that you kind of would have been guarded anyway. Yeah. Yeah, maybe. Maybe. Because he says you are a tough nut to crack. And even when I was courting Lauren for the Mikey show. Courting. She was very guarded.
Very standoffish. Lay the cards out. There was no cards being shown. At all. But they're saying that that's a thing, Sienna, that is good or bad? It's bad. Single women usually make the mistake of being too judgmental. Another one is that they're so much pickier than men in general. Are they really? I thought it would be the opposite. Women are super picky when it comes to... I don't care. Yeah, and men are like, dude, she's so hot. She's so hot. She talked to me. I'm in. Well, wait a second. I thought that that means that a dude would see a girl, and if she's not hot, we're out, which seems extraordinarily judgmental to me, and that the opposite is that women, at least in my view, that's the reason I have a beautiful wife. You know what I'm saying? She loves you for what's on the inside. Apparently. Aw. Apparently. Does he have a pulse? Yeah. Amen. Exactly. Don't you guys, in general, don't you guys think that men are more judgmental of women than women are with men? Absolutely. I think so. I think in the end, I think in the beginning, women are more judgmental, but then once you start dating, women are like, oh, it's easier to fall for a guy, and guys are really picky when it comes to how long they're going to date this girl. Men are more shallow.
I mean, we care about, you guys care about what's on the inside, and he's funny, and he makes a lot of money, and he's got a good personality, and he's got great charisma. And you're like, I don't know, her butt isn't all that great. She's got, yeah, her butt could do some more. She's got a little snaggle tooth going. This looks like Jewel. Megan, I want you to be really honest, okay? Yes. Brutally honest. Are there non-negotiables with you, with a dude? In other words... You won't date a guy unless this or that. You know, off the top of my head, I don't date smokers just because I don't want to make out with an ass tray. I'm out. Yeah, the kid. You would be out on the kid because he does both. He does a little chewing tobacco with the Copenhagen and smokes on top of it. Yeah, I can't do that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sorry, Woods. So non-smoker. Another one bites the dust. I'm really open-minded, though, when it comes to being... Apparently not. Aside from the smoking thing. That's a huge thing, though. And chewing tobacco. It can kill you. You need to stop. There's a lot of things that can kill you. I know. I also prefer men who don't use as much man grooming products.
Mikey and I are out. I think you should scoot a little further away from Woods. Seriously. Well, wait a minute, Megan. What if we hide that from you until we're married to you like I did with my wife? That would tease me out a little bit. Purposely? Oh, Rebecca didn't know all the stuff I used. She would have thought I was a woman. Are you kidding me? We are so girly. As a fellow gay man. I'm not gay. It's not that I'm gay. I use some stuff on my face. Metrosexual. Yeah. I try to say it like a tough guy, so it sounds better. Yeah, I use some moisturizer. What's the big deal? Yeah, I exfoliate. Nice deal. Yeah. And looking at you guys, you wouldn't think that you would be like, no, no. You guys are so unattractive. A lot of work for not a lot of payoff. You guys look like tough guys. You don't look like primpy men. Well, Woods isn't wearing his pink shirt today. You'll see it. It's been real good. February 27th. Did you give them all, Sienna? No, there's a couple more. Single women make the mistake of going for the alpha males. Woods.
I'm an alpha. I'm an alpha. Really? Yes. The big one? Come on. Strong personality dudes. I think of like the much, maybe more you. The alpha. Kid wears the pants, dude, okay? Real good. You know that. Real good. Real good. And the last one, which is a big one that a lot of women make, is that we think he needs to share every interest with us. And it's like, dude, they can go watch football. If we're not into it, whatever, just let them go with their friends. Get some hobbies of your own. No, that's a big mistake. So guys, I don't have a list of mistakes single guys make, but there are plenty. Let me just say that. Of course. But that is a big one. You know, guys need to have their own time, too. My philosophy on that stuff is that I think that opposite. Well, first of all, we know opposites track. But second of all, the things that are important are. Can I be in a relationship with somebody if they're vegan and I love a good hamburger? Sure. No way. I think so. I think that could work. Think about it, though. What are we going to do for dinner? It's just a beating every day of your life. It's like, oh, dude, we can't do this. My friend is with someone who's a vegetarian and she loves having burgers and stuff. Okay. You know what? Maybe you're right about that. Maybe you can go to a restaurant and you can figure that out.
I think you can. Okay, then here's one. And at home you can too. Okay, so how about this one? I don't think that you can have the guy or the girl that's a total homebody that just likes to stay home and watch movies. date somebody that's really into jogging and being active. No way. Yeah. Well, it's just, I think it depends on the person. If they don't care and it gives them more time to be at home while that person is out jogging and doing other various activities. No, the jogger will say, get off your butt and do something lazy. Yes. Yeah. Won't the active person be like, hey, fatty. And that'll make you feel bad about yourself. Get off the couch. Yeah. It's like, so I want to just sit home. I worked hard all week. Get out of my face. Yeah. That's true though. Actually, I forgot it was a kind of a deal breaker for me. I read a story about a married couple in Seattle. They've been married for like 30 years and they share separate residences, which I thought was pretty brilliant. It's not dinner together. They do whatever they do. And the guy's like, all right, we'll see you tomorrow. I'm out. And he goes to his own house. It's amazing. I would not imagine not sleeping with your wife in the same bed. That would be awful. Here's the deal. You can still.
I mean, it's not a concentration camp. You can have a sleepover if you like. That sounds horrible. But you also get your own space. No, I do. It's a concentration camp. It's okay to have your own space is what I'm saying. I wouldn't do it. You can have your own space, but at least be in the same house if you're married. I wouldn't do it. Don't be married if you want your own space. I'm just saying, they've been married 30 years. They have a phenomenal marriage. You sound like Chris Rock talking about OJ. I'm not saying it's right. I'm saying I understand. I understand. Exactly. Oh, my God. Well, Megan is a gorgeous girl, and we're going to try to find a date for her. And who knows? Maybe you guys end up really liking one another. Maybe it's true love. I hope you never know. If you could, like, choose one. ideal place to go on a date. I know I don't want to put pressure on you, but this kind of tells a lot. Would it be a nice restaurant? Would it be a sports bar? Would it be somewhere where you could do bowling? Taco stand. Yeah, but who wouldn't say a nice restaurant? Lots of people. Lots of people, that's too much pressure for a first date. Really? Yeah. Taco stand. Maybe not a taco stand. I'm not also asking somebody to take me to a nice...
Fancy steakhouse. Those can get kind of stuffy. Right. I think so, too. And I think that that's cool that she says that. Yeah. I think that maybe the conversation tends to have a little more tension in an atmosphere like this. I'd want to go somewhere fun where we could talk and have a good time. That's why I'd say bowling would be cool. There's a horrible tavern in bowl. That just gave me shivers. That just gave me shivers. You get nervous about if you were good enough? I'm short and fat and I'd have to wear those shoes. Oh, come on. Most good bowlers are tall, strapping, young individuals. Yeah, Mike, really. They're all such... Yeah. You guys are going to get like hundreds of calls from bowlers. I know. I just would feel so. It doesn't matter what we would do. I'd be self-conscious. But I think from the guy's point of view who are listening, we're like, oh, I want to take her on a date. Like maybe they're like, I hope it's not summer. We're going to take care of it. Oh, yeah. We're going to take care of the date and we're going to send you to my favorite restaurant ever. And it's not stuffy like you can wear jeans and whatever. Start with a P.
It starts with a letter Pamplemousse. I've always wanted to try that place. It's the most delicious food in the world. So good. Cool. And it's a totally, you know, kickback atmosphere. Get the bananas foster. See if you can get them in the Godfather room that we have. That's right. Well, we're going to have a picture of Megan up on MikeyShow.com. She's cute, and she smells good. She's cute, and she smells good. And she's funny. She has curly hair. We didn't say that, did we? She's got curly strawberry blonde hair, and we're going to ask her some more. You'll see it in the pic. That's right. And we'll ask you more questions, too, about what kind of guy you'd be interested in. And I also want to find out what kind of girl you are, so we'll ask you all these questions when we come back. You'll be able to see Megan soon. This is The Mikey Show, FM 94.9. This is Bird from DetroitSolar.com with the FM 94.9 Authentic Surf Report for a Monday morning. Brought to you by Guayaquil, Yerba Mate. Hot and cold is just a trick of choice. Surf-wise today, it's starting to come together. We've got some pretty healthy northwesterny wind and ground swell out there, and that is being aided by some offshore winds right now, trying to clean it up. Still pretty junky, though. Tide intervals swell, lots of winds yesterday, meaning it's just really kind of a hodgepodge of different swell directions. High tide this morning really backing a lot of areas off. That being said, beach breaks do have some rideable corners. You've got to work hard to find them, though, as it is a tight interval, and paddling out in itself can be a chore.
pretty discombobulated right now. They will find more focus throughout the day as it starts to taper up size-wise and the tide drops out. Swell will taper up quickly, too, though. With the offshore wind starting to clean it up, it'll actually knock the size down relatively quickly. So it's a kind of a coin toss. Bigger surf this morning, kind of junky. Cleaner surf later, but smaller. You have to make that decision. For up-to-the-minute surfing for its forecast, go to surfline.com and for everything you need in order to go surf. Check out one of South Coast surf shops, five locations, or go online at southcoast.com. This surf report is brought to you by Guayaki Urba Mate, and it can only be heard three times daily right here on FM 94.9. You're listening to FM 94.9 and the FM 94.9 Authentic Surf Report. More of the Mikey Show on FM 94.9. Number one downloaded song on iTunes today. No, it's I'm a be. It's a black eyed piece. Our phone number is 570-1949. You can text us 949mikey at gmail.com. I'm loving this song and Woods and Lauren are miserable. With hell.
I'm like dancing. I know. Like Bumblebee Taylor. Bumblebee. Bumblebee. If it's popular, then Woods and Lauren are out. They want nothing to do with it. If it's sold more than nine records, we're out. Forget it. Forget it. There's no way in the world. So we're taking pictures of Megan in the studio. It's not awkward. No. At all. Megan is 20. Megan's like, should I be smiling? Act natural. Let her choose which one she likes. Just act like you would normally act when you're in a studio with strangers. Right, right, and you're totally used to that. Yeah, you're totally used to it. So I wanted to ask you about, you know, the kind of guys that you like and also wanted to ask you about you. So I asked a question that Lauren immediately said to me, that's the last thing you're supposed to ask a single girl. I forget. Oh. Yeah. Here I go. Oh, why am I single? He said, why are you single? Well, I was just talking to you guys earlier on the break, but the list that Sienna read, the only thing that I think I'm guilty of is just being picky. And I'm not one of those girls who needs a boyfriend around all the time. So, like, I'm totally cool with being single, so I'm not going to settle unless I find something that I'm legitimately interested in. Right on, girl. What does that mean, picky?
Mike, why are you so defensive? I don't know, Mike. Well, what do you think she means by that, Mike? I don't know. She just wants to find a guy that fits perfectly. Not perfectly, but, you know, like she's not settling. Right. Okay, like one of the things is you guys are talking about like lifestyles. Like if somebody's a couch potato and somebody's active, it's not going to work. I consider myself really active. So if he wants to sit at home on the couch and watch TV all day, it's not going to work out. You want a guy that does stuff that you like to do. Yeah. That makes sense. I'm adventurous. I like to go hiking. I jog. I'm training for a half marathon right now. I don't think I could date you. I could not date you. Yeah, I want somebody to keep up. I want somebody who's spontaneous, keeps me on my toes. Do you eat meat? Yes, I eat plenty of that. I'm not vegetarian, not vegan. If you had to pick one food that you just love, what is it? Like what type? Italian, Chinese? Oh, I would say Chinese food. I love Chinese food. Yeah. Look, you're already out. I know, I'm out. Stop trying to sell yourself girl products. I know. I'm out. And what about the guy? What about the dude? The deal breaker, you said one of them is the smoking, right? Right. No smoking. I'd obviously, like I said, want him to be adventurous, active, funny.
I'm really goal-oriented, and I think I'm really driven in my life. Like, I know what I'm doing. I know what I want to do. I'd like somebody else who has a plan, kind of. That's super important. Super important. Like, I don't care what you do right now, but as long as you have a goal and you know, like, where you want to be headed. So you don't want an unemployed pot smoker that's sitting at home. Preferably not. This goal is to smoke some more pot that day. Well, you know, and one of the things I found the older I've gotten is that... Women are really attracted to, and not necessarily success, like financial success, but they're attracted to a guy that works his butt off. Yeah. Because she knows she's going to be taken care of. She knows he's, you know, he's focused and motivated. Ambition is sexy. Ambition is sexy. Thank you, Lauren. That's what I was trying to say. Do you have an age limit? Um, let's say maybe not over 30. Because I'm 23. Did you date anyone younger than you? I have once, and it didn't work out. Yeah, I'm like really like, I would not. I don't know why. Yeah, I wouldn't date you. Because I even think people my age can sometimes be a little immature. Oh, yeah. You're 23. I'm 34 and I'm immature. Oh, my God. I don't think guys ever grow out of that. No. I like a guy who's kind of childish sometimes, but if it's all the time, then... Me and Woods. Like, fart noises immediately go off in my head. See, but that makes me die of laughter.
I didn't grow up until I was 34. I was a mess. You know, literally, I was a mess. You were a mess. But you've been doing what you want to do professionally for a while. So you can be childlike at home and you know how to joke around. Well, I was childlike, but in addition to being childlike, I was also completely irresponsible like a kid. Yeah. Like a kid. Like the kid? Or like a kid. Oh, okay. I didn't grow up. until I was much older. I think men take a long time. Men take much, much longer. Yeah. We pretend. We do a great job of showing you that we have it figured out. We're a mess. I'm an absolute mess. Absolutely. Okay, do you ever get, like, do people ever say, you look like a certain someone? Like, do you ever get that? A celebrity or? Yeah, but people say weird stuff. Like, I think that I have a look that's not really describable, maybe. I mean, I can't describe any blonde hair. Come on. I'm trying to think because usually you can always pick someone that you look like, but I can't think of anyone for you. I think what I get most often is Taylor Swift. I was thinking that. The curly, yeah. I see that. An older Taylor Swift. Yeah. You don't look older than Taylor Swift. No, you don't. I don't want to look like I'm 16. Yeah. Trust me, that's attractive to me. Not me. Please don't set me up with any predators. I get Wesley Snipes.
All the time is what I get. I see that. People either say Wesley Snipes or Gordon Ramsay. I get Jerry's Subway, Mike. I can see Vin Diesel. Vin Diesel? Yeah, Vin Diesel. If by Vin Diesel you mean Danny DeVito, then 100%. Totally. Totally. So we're going to have a picture of Megan up online for you guys that would like to go out with Megan. And it's going to be Valentine's Day here. We thought it would be a good time. And you could actually see Megan. She works at a restaurant that is not a strip club called The Strip Club. I do not take my clothes off for money. No. It's called The Strip Club. That's the name of it. And it is a great restaurant where you cook your own steak. And it's pretty awesome. The new one in the Hoya. Yeah, that's the one we mentioned. That's my hood. That's awesome. Are you from San Diego? Born and raised. Oh, I knew I liked you. Very nice. One of the rare ones. Very nice. Where'd you go to high school? Poway High, 04. LJ? 04, Mike. 04. I was 03. What year were you born? 86. Good Lord. Oh, my goodness. I got my driver's license. Yeah, right?
I got my driver's license. She was born as an infant child. As an infant child, she was born. All those facial creams make you look so much younger. Oh, I know. That's why I do it. Don't encourage it. It does. M1 Joe, you there? Hey, good morning, Mike. You're welcome. Hey, dude. Thank you. You got some relationship ideas? Oh, you know, I called you a couple months ago at the other place and talked about, we talked about shoes in the house. Remember? Yeah. The ex-girlfriend. Right. Yeah. Well, I was listening to her, and a lot of women nowadays, you know, they're all like, I want to be independent, I want this, I want that. Well, some of us guys, you know, we want a girl that wants to hang out with us. You know, I'm a little, I'm older than her. I'm like 41. And, you know, my hairstyle says I look like 35, and I act like I'm 18 most of the time. And I'm active, but I like to have some couch potato time. Megan, do you like couch potato time, or are you just not a couch potato person? No, I enjoy hanging out and watching a movie at home every now and then, but not if it's every other day. Because I'll be honest with you. My wife, her best friend's name is Lori. You met Lori last night. You guys met Lori. Lori and her fiancé are perfect for each other. She will not sit still. I mean, she's...
She'll tell you. She'll go, no, I'm never the couch potato type. Like if you said to her, hey, Lori, isn't there times where you just kind of want to hang out and hang out on the couch? She'll say, no way. She doesn't like to go to movies because she doesn't like to sit still that way. I love a good lazy Sunday. I mean, Todd and I, our favorite day is maybe like get up, maybe go for like a bike ride or something. And then the rest of the day. By bike ride, I mean a trip to Denny. Exactly. Maybe ride my bike down the street and then back. Yeah. Rebecca and I like to take bike rides. By bike rides, we mean get on the wireless internet on our laptops. And look at pictures of bicycles. And look at people biking. No, not in that, it's that old window. So I'll watch it for five minutes and go... We live on the couch. Yeah. Love it. Love a couch. In fact, Sienna and I and her fiance, Todd, last night were talking about couches. We were. Really? They're so important. They are so important. I don't have one. He doesn't like his couch very much. It's not very comfortable. And Todd and I are like, oh, we had to get it together. We had to both agree on it. You like fall into our couch. Love it. I want a couch that's very similar to the pillow I sleep on. Yeah. I just want it to be a couch. I just wish I could blow the pillow I sleep up.
Up to like eight feet. I know. It'd be fantastic. Although I came in with a mini Coke last night. Mini? One of those mini cans? Like a three-ouncer? Like a shot. Those cans are so cute. That's a tease. Hey, guys, I'm drinking my mini Coke, so if anybody wants a mini Coke, I'll go grab one for you. You keep them in a mini fridge? That's right. I do. Yeah, he does. Really? I keep my mini Coke in a mini... Why do you do that? Because my little mini hands are going to grab it. You know what I mean? And I'm going to take a look at it. All right, let me read you this email. Mikey, I'm running into a bit of a tight spot. I've been with this girl for three months, and I'm absolutely crazy about her. She's got pretty great taste in clothes, purses, shoes, et cetera. And I really want to come through on Valentine's Day, but I have no idea what to get her or even where to start. I have a budget, a couple hundred dollars, so I can't go too crazy. Please help a brother out. That's M1 Valentine. My suggestion, M1 Valentine, is if you know one of her friends, ask her. That's what I did. I got an answer. What do you got, Woodsy? You got one word. What? Tiffany's. That's it. That's all you need to do. Get out of here with your wallet. What are you talking about? Tiffany's. That's all you need. Baloney. Baloney. That's what you don't understand. You can get, like.
Awesome earrings. You can get a necklace or bracelet for like $150. No, for like 50 times more than what it's worth. Yeah, exactly. Who cares? Sienna, you can wrap up a turd in a Tiffany box and they see the box and they're like, oh my God, it's a Tiffany. No, I disagree. Hey, honey. That's a turn off to me. Do you know what I mean? It works. Just trust me. It doesn't. It doesn't work on me. Trust me. I'm telling you, I like nice things. Time out. Let's take this one step at a time. Notice how all the girls are saying no and the guys are saying no. You guys are like, they like it. Hello, I am a girl. You've seen what I have. We get it. They don't just run in the family. They gallop. They gallop. Sienna, you're telling me, have you ever gotten the little blue box? I have and I don't care. Some of these girls didn't grow up in La Jolla and get them every single day. Excuse me. What does that have to do with anything? Because I grew up in La Jolla, you think that is what I want, and it's not. It shows that you had zero creativity. You just went there. They said, oh, these are the big sellers, and you bought it. Did you want us to weld it in our basement for you? People buy stuff at stores. That's why they have stores. You went there clearly for the name, and I don't care about that. I disagree. I took my wife there for our 20th anniversary. We jumped in the car and drove down there. We walked in. I said, okay, pick whatever you want.
Look at you, dude. She bawled. She started crying. Of course she did. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. You walked into Tiffany and said, pick whatever you want? That's dangerous. From this counter. Because at the end of the day, we've got to go home and still pay for the house. But I said, you know. Find something you like. That's amazing, dude. Great work. She still tells that story to today. Of course she does because it works every stinking time. It doesn't. We're telling you, there's three women in the studio telling you that it does not. When I was in high school, it was all about this one Tiffany bracelet with a charm. And I know exactly what you're talking about. I loved it in high school. Now I want something different. Get them something different, though. But you're buying the name. Some girls just don't care about that. Of course you are. When you go buy a purse or when you go buy sunglasses that are $5,000, aren't you buying the name or are you buying the quality of the sunglasses? Yeah, but I'm not going to one place. That Mark Jacobs can sure make a hell of a sunglass. Oh, I'm upset. Lauren. Yes. Have you ever gotten a gift from Tiffany? From my aunt on like my 16th birthday or something like that. So you're telling me if a fella gave you a charm in that little blue box, that wouldn't.
You wouldn't think that was really sweet. I would say, why did you waste your money? Exactly. We could have gone somewhere this weekend. Really? For $150? Where is the receipt? Woodsy. Where? You tied me. There's nothing about $150. Where did you find these girls? They're like, I'm floored right now. Well, I got a question. Is it possible that we're wrong? No, it's not. There are girls that like it. 99% of them would be like, oh, my God, that's amazing. You got to talk in front of that thing. 99% of girls would be like, this is amazing. Thank you. Well, three out of three in this room, stump your 99% because we all say no. Which is making me think, Woodsy, that it could be possible. I'm just saying we have to consider the fact because I thought exactly like you. I go, it's a no-brainer. Every girl that gets that little blue box is going to flip out. But is it possible that they're telling the truth and that actually if we get it, They're going, what an incredible waste of money. And you only did it because you thought I would dig it, not because you have any brains in your head. Is that possible, Woodsy? No, it is not possible. You've been watching too much Sex and the City. You have been. I have, too, because that's what I did. Man, when Rebecca and I were dating, and now I'm actually thinking in my head, maybe she didn't dig it like I thought she did. We just got shamed out of buying gifts at Timmy. We did. Again. I did.
But maybe they're right. Maybe they're being honest. Now I got to go set up the sawhorse and build somebody a Valentine's present. No. Because it's not thoughtful to buy something at a freaking store. That's not what we're saying. It's not creative, dude. That's not. Exactly. A mom and pop jeweler. Oh, really? That's more thoughtful. I'm telling you. Or take that money and take her somewhere. Like, go to a theme park. Go on a little vacation. What, in your guys' head, you're saying it's that blue box. It's the blue box. What I'm telling you is. What is inside could come from anywhere because you bought it. It does not have to have a blue box. That's just like... I'm just saying I know what works and what has worked. Well, that's great. You're married. You've done well. I think so, but now that they're saying it, I'm like... Yeah, now I feel like a jackass. Well, no, no, no. What I'm wondering now is I wonder if your girls that you got the Tiffany thing for and my girl that I got the Tiffany thing for acted very happy, acted very like, wow, this is great. But the truth was... Dude, I can't mistake the fact that there are three women in this room that are going, you guys are dummies. You're not dummies. It's unnecessary. You don't need to do that. Will you bring over your welding equipment this weekend so I've got a Valentine's gift I need to make? And I want to hear from dudes and I want to hear from women. Please, dudes, call. Because I'm really questioning myself.

On the eastbound after the 79, an accident, that right lane's blocked. It's an injury accident. Car hit a parked car. And looks like the 5 northbound at Via de San Ysidro, that on-ramp still closed due to a traffic accident earlier. You need that extra value from your car, and Firestone Complete Auto Care can help. Well, three girls in here are getting me to actually question what I think about Tiffany. Because you should. And Woodsy's right. Tiffany, okay, for those of you that don't know anything about Tiffany, Tiffany is a jewelry store. It's a high-end jewelry store. It's a place you have breakfast at. That's right. And it's widely considered to be a very, very classy joint. Now, we had three women in here just say that you give a girl Tiffany, she's going to think, oh, you're not creative. Anyone can buy something from Tiffany's. Anyone can buy something. It's the same item. And we also heard, and the other thing we also heard about it was that, oh, it would be so much more meaningful if we got tickets to.
An amusement park. No, I don't agree. I mean, something like that could be fine. Not an amusement park, Mike. No one said that. Megan did. Here you go, sweetheart. Legoland. Yeah, we're going to Six Flags. Happy Valentine's. Dude, Six Flags would be awesome. I love jewelry. Love jewelry. I'm telling you the truth. You think I'm lying, but nothing about Tiffany is, I mean, it's expensive. I know. Wow, that's amazing you spent that much money. You didn't have to. What my point is, is that you don't have to spend a lot of money, even at Tiffany. Now, can I say this? But to get something nice, you do. No, you don't. If you get a girl something from Tiffany, here's what you're saying about her. A. I think you're classy. You're worth it. Yeah. B, you're worth it. $150. All you can get from Tiffany is something silver and plain. Great. Well, yeah, I'm not buying some girl, like, diamonds from Tiffany. Like, I didn't get an engagement ring at Tiffany. I mean, I don't have 25K. Now, I said I'm calling L.O.B. out because L.O.B. got a text. Just now. I did. While we were in commercial break. And what did it say and who was it from? It's from Melissa.
Who's Melissa? Melissa is a lovely young woman who had me over for Super Bowl yesterday. Yes. And she said... And you quote... And I quote, BTW, which for the layman's terms means... In layman's terms means... By the way, got a Tiffany's bracelet and I cried and I'm so happy. With many O's and three exclamation points. That's lovely. I'm not saying I've said all along some girls like it. I'm just telling you, you asked my point of view, Lauren's point of view, Megan's point of view. We all say it's unnecessary. And I like like I was telling you guys off the air. What I love about my engagement ring is that you cannot find it anywhere else. Your engagement ring. Yes. But this guy's been dating this girl for 90 days. 90 days. Who cares about I mean, it's 150 bucks from Tiffany. So some silver stud earrings, whatever. I don't even like silver.
My God. M1 Hello Kitty. Hi. Hi there. Hi. What do you think? I think it used to be a really big thing. Back when I was about 20 years old, it was something that a lot of people still didn't have. But now that it seems like every other girl has one, just like a coach purse or a leave-a-talk purse or the humongous sunglasses, it's just played out. Yeah. Woodsy. Woodsy, we have to. I couldn't agree more, by the way. I couldn't either. I'm just going to throw this out there. There is a chance. No, there's no chance. That it's played out. Played out. When I was in high school, I would have killed for Tiffany. And that's when I got it. That's when I wanted it. Now, no, I don't want some $150 whatever's from Tiffany. I wish you could have seen what Woodsy just mouthed. What? Well, he mouthed the words.
What you said, I'm wrong? That's what he said. He said, I'm wrong. Well, I'm considering it. I'm not even considering it because I think it's, A, it's not unoriginal because, yeah, I'm not going to go in and get her the return to Tiffany's charm that every girl has. I love that you know what it's called. I'll get the old lady on the phone, dude. Do it. First of all, it's your wife. I've got some really good stuff from there. She's going to say it just because she's going to have your back. I'm looking on the website right now, and I'm just going to see. Okay. Yeah, go ahead. Can you get Rebecca on the line? My wife. Do you have that? Look at this. Look at this. I go on their website. Garbage. Oh, you can't say that it's garbage. Those are keys. I'm not going to give some girl a key. It's not a key. It's a charm for a necklace. So don't get her that one. Which is their Valentine special. So, Todd, as we speak.
Todd is, this is why he loves me. Todd has his welding mask on and his smelter. No, it's not about that one. And he's crafting up a piece of jewelry that's handcrafted. Todd always gives me jewelry. Todd gives you flowers in a box. Looks like he's in Mordor and he's putting together some kind of crafty little trinket. I don't care. I love that about him. Did you say that he gives you flowers? Flowers, yes. He did it one time. Super original. Are you going to be a jerk to Todd? Because I'm going to fight you. I'm about to marry him. So take it easy there, guy. You know how much I love Todd. I know. I like Todd more than you. I'm telling you that I... He loves Todd more than you do. Get out of here. M1NikkiD just texted in and goes, Mikey, do you have any idea? how screwed all of us are if Tiffany's is really no big deal. Hey, let me tell you a little anecdote. You're right. Dude, we're done. Yeah, we're done. If that's true, if what they're saying is true, we're done. That's why you have us. We'll help you. Can I interject here? Yes. Okay. I got, I like jewelry too, but only if it's sentimental, not if it's just this obligatory, here's this blue box that we think you all like. My boyfriend wrote a song for me. Yeah, not everybody has that talent. And it's called the Ice Cream Cone Song.
And it's about me. It's a little metaphorical song. What about us fat, untalented guys? Seriously. But I'm saying he gave me a necklace that was just a little ice cream cone. It wasn't from Tiffany's. It was from some little store that he found. You know why that worked? Because he wrote you a song. No, no. They could have an inside joke about a conversation, how her favorite thing is ice cream, and he always gives it to her every Saturday night. They go get ice cream, and he got her an ice cream cone necklace, and that's just as meaningful. I'm so mad I'm actually standing up. I know it. I know it. I know it. I know it. I almost came over there and... Kicked you in the butt. M1K. Why? Because you got said about Todd and the flowers. That's what you said, though. You said Todd said the flowers. Well, I'm allowed to. You're not. It's true. Todd knows how much I love him. M1K mice. Am I saying that right, by the way? Yeah, K mice. So you agree with the girls? Yeah, I think Tiffany's story is pretty cheese ball, especially like the $150. We're done. I'm looking on the website. $150. We're done.
Woods, what if it's true, dude? We're done. What if we're the guy that thinks that 80s music is still cool? Didn't you just hear Woods? You know what I mean? But the guy in 1999 that still thought 80s was cool. Are we that guy? We are that guy, apparently. If this is true, apparently I'm going to have to learn how to do crafts and write poetry and paint. Hey, no one said anything about crafts. I don't know where you're getting this welding stuff. You said you've got to be original. It's sentimental. No. Being sentimental and original. You could go to a little boutique that sells something the same price. Guess we need to learn to sculpt. Now, Mikey, now I'll be sculpting. Now I need to go to a pottery class so that I'm like doing the ghost thing. Right, yeah. Patrick Swayze. Yeah, make her a pot. With Rebecca behind me. Put my initials in it. Maybe a heart. We're going to spin ourselves a little vase. You guys are really, really reading between the lines here. You really are. Why can't you just take what we're saying and say, wow, those are girls that are saying they won't like it. Maybe that's true. Maybe we don't have to waste our money. Maybe they'll help us get something original. Okay, Sienna, right now I've just magically made you a guy. You've got a girlfriend. You're going to do something for her. What do you do? Well, I'd have to think about what. I'm going to hire a sky riding plane and I'm going to.
Tell them how much I love them in the air with smoke. Clearly that's not what we want if we're not wanting Tiffany's. I'm going to take a piece of wood and I'm going to whittle it into a little heart because one time we saw a little heart together. What you need to do is... I'm going to whittle a Snoopy because one time we had a joke about Snoopy. Exactly. That would be cute if you gave a little Snoopy. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Just trust me. Trust me. Just trust me. You're hearing from girls. You were going to trust a guy who doesn't know over girls who do? M1 Candice, are you there? Yes. Hi. Go ahead. Okay, ladies, I am with you. However, I think what you guys are trying to say that the guys are not getting is that you want something unique that takes more thought than Tiffany's. Any guy can just walk into Tiffany's and get something. Any guy can walk into any store anywhere and buy you something. Well, I understand that, but you're going to see your girlfriend, one of your friends, wearing the same earrings that you have because that guy thought Tiffany's was a great idea. So now it has to be the only one in the world. No. The gift I get you has to be one of a kind. No. Well, then I'm screwed for the rest of my life. You have to dig it up from the bottom of the ocean. Oh, my God. Okay, so does that mean that if we go to...
Nordstrom and get your jewelry. You can't go to Nordstrom, Mikey. It's huge. It's like a huge store. What if somebody else is the same thing? You can't go to Nordstrom. You know what? How about Uggs? Let's talk about Uggs. Does every freaking person in this town have Uggs? I don't. Every person wears Uggs here. You wouldn't give someone Uggs for Valentine's Day? It's so unoriginal. Why not? What if you thought that that was like the cool thing and she would dig it? More than three people have Uggs. Jewelry is different than shoes. Jewelry is, it is. That's something. That's like an item of shoes. Your shoes wear out. This is my wife, Rebecca. Hi, honey. Hi, hi. Okay, so I'm definitely questioning the validity of my love. It's getting really heated in here. You're unoriginal, pal. It doesn't have anything to do with your love. I, you know, I definitely hear what the girls are saying. I, I'm kind of somewhere in the middle. Do you know what I mean? Like. First of all, I have to say I'm not a huge jewelry person anyway. You know that about me, hon. I wear my wedding ring. I haven't worn earrings in probably the last 10 years. I wear, like, you know, costume-type necklaces, like, you know, just total get them at Target or whatever. So, you know, just in general, like, I'm not really the girl that you get, you know, tons of jewelry for because I don't really wear it. With that said, like...
You've definitely gotten me stuff from Tiffany, and I love it. I think it's awesome. It makes me feel special, for sure. But at the same time, if you were to get me jewelry from someplace else that isn't Tiffany, it's not like I'm opening it going, why isn't this from Tiffany? It's the same feeling, though. I guess my point is that I don't really have a preference one way or the other. Mikey, if you had gotten it from a roadside stand, it would have been more special. That's not what she's saying. She's saying anything is special because it's from him. No, that's what I know. I'm agreeing with Rebecca. Question. And so I'm not like out on Tiffany, but I'm also not like, you know. Okay. Okay, then let me put it to the test. Let me put it to the test. And I want the honest caps to go on all the ladies here. Okay. Because we've been sugarcoating it. I know. I'm like yelling right now. I'm so excited that you guys don't understand. I'm sweating. That's fair. So let's say that it's Christmas and, you know, I get you a box and you open it up and it says it's got a big red K on it.
It's very clear I got this from Kmart and you open it up and it's a little... You are not understanding this at all. It's a really far stretch. She just said it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter where it's from. This is why you guys are men and we are women. Just BS. You don't understand. There is no gray area here. You guys aren't allowing for the gray area. I'm getting you something from Tiffany for your wedding. I don't want it. Yes, you do. No, I don't. What a snob. Because for my wedding, it's supposed to be for Todd and I, not just for me. I was going to get you guys a frame. An engraved frame from Tiffany's. If he got you an engraved frame from Tiffany's, you wouldn't think that was pretty sweet? It would be sweet, but I'm telling you, you don't need to do that. It doesn't fit Sienna's taste. That's the whole point here. Know the woman's taste. Exactly. Some women have... Pottery Barn, everything. Tiffany's, everything. They have a certain taste. If that's what they like, then yes, the little blue box will work every time. Lauren's right. You have to know their style. Did you see his email? He goes, she has very good taste in purses, shoes. Okay, so do I. So do I. Maybe I didn't listen to that part. No, I have expensive stuff, and I'm telling you, Tiffany is old. It's done.
It's over. Maybe that's the deal, dude. I don't want to be that guy. I'm going to whittle them something from Beachwood for their wedding. Fine. That'd be awesome. I'm going to whittle you a frame. Thank you, honey. Homemade. I love you. I'm just, you know. Lauren's actually right. Is it 10 yet? Let me ask you a question, Woodsy. If you, knowing Lauren the way that you know her. I wouldn't get her anything from Tiffany's. Well, you wouldn't get her anything from Tiffany's. Because she would be like, oh, it's Tiffany. See, what gets me, though, is I would buy something for her. Me too. Yeah, I wouldn't think that Sienna wouldn't have liked Tiffany. Yeah, 100%. We've been dating for a month, and it's Valentine's Day. I'm like, dude, straight to Tiffany. She's going to be like, what a clown. But actually, all you have to do is look at her jewelry and know that she wouldn't like. Dude, she's got like a 10-carat rock on her finger. Have you seen anybody else? That's not a rock. That's a boulder. I mean, good Lord. He did good. Toddy done good. And I wasn't ragging on you, dude. I love you. I know. He knows that with rings like Sienna's got on. They're very unique. But that's because it's like her grandmother's. Yeah. That's her taste. Todd picked the setting especially because it's me. It looks like me. That's the hard part. My setting is white gold with gold in it. Most people wouldn't like that, but I do. You know what?
What irritates me, Woodsy, is it's like we can't win. You can't win, dude, no matter what you get. If you get them something from the roadside stand, then you're a cheapskate. No, if it says K on it. You're a cheapskate. You're an idiot. Like, not only are you an idiot, you're like, not only are you an idiot, you think I am a trashy. K-Mart? Yeah. But it's sentimental, baby. I really love you. And remember the ice cream. I'd like to add something. Go ahead, Lauren. At 90 days, let's just play it safe here. It's too early for jewelry. You don't know her well enough. So wait until you know her a little more to decide what jewelry you need to be buying her. She might be right. I think that's, I think 90 days. I mean, three months with somebody if you're really into her. If someone gave me jewelry after three months. of dating, I think I might go running for the hills. Are you serious? I would love it. I would love it. I would love it. And Todd gave me a diamond, it was a little diamond, but there was diamonds in a necklace when we were only dating for two months. And I loved it. Of course you did.
But what I'm saying is he was in Germany when he got it, and it was something so cool that he brought back. Great, dude. Now we've got to go on a virtual planet. I've got to travel to Austria to get somebody a Valentine's Day present. It just has to be something original. Unbelievable. Valentine's Day is stupid anyway. I love it. Valentine's Day is stupid anyway. Are we exhausting you guys yet? Yeah, I feel like I've just ran a marathon. I love Valentine's Day. My goodness. Jay just stuck on his tongue like, bleh. Want to know if Sarah Palin's running for president in 2012? Oh, wow. And some strangers in San Diego did something for a homeless UCSD student that will make you feel good inside your chest. Do you feel like feeling good? Yeah, we all need a little bit of that right now. And I'm not talking about you, Sienna. I know instantly you're like, I get it. They don't run in the family. They gala. Did you say chest? That's right. We'll do it after this. Is the Mikey Show on FM 94.9. Are you ready for the biggest reggae party in Southern California? Tribute to the reggae legends. Back to the Mikey Show on FM 94.9. 949Mikey at gmail.com if you want to text us some of the text messages that we're getting. Mikey, my 16-year-old daughter was given a key necklace from Tiffany's for Valentine's Day. From her 17-year-old boyfriend. That's huge. She's in high school. Yeah. That's what I wanted to do. I didn't know Tiffany's turned into Claire's Boutique. Yeah. Apparently it did. It did. Mikey, is it possible that each girl might just like something different? My wife loves Tiffany's stuff. That's M1 Giants. I think it's a guy writing. Your wife's very unoriginal, pal. Okay. That's what they're saying. Mikey.
My girl would rather have the $150 gift certificate to Anthropologie than Crappy Tiffany. I would, too. Well, first of all, Tiffany is not crappy. It's not crappy. No, it's not crappy. It's good stuff. It's not, but it's just... It's not very unique. You guys are making it sound like Costco. Yeah. Like Mikey and Woods went to Costco. Okay, guys. They wholesaled out my necklace. Are you listening? I am. Think about your woman, your girlfriend, your wife. What does she love? Me, Tiffany. Me. You guys are not listening. Think about them. Imagine that. What about something they said that they've always wanted or something that they love and they collect or something that you always make fun of them for liking? Give it to them for Valentine's Day and that'll make them be like, oh, he actually listens to me and what I say.
Yeah, well, what if you don't? Like, I love candles and stuff. And Todd's just like, okay, enough with the candles. They're everywhere. But I love them. And I love them, you know, displayed on the walls with these cool, like, you have lots in your house, Mike. And I love it. You have lots of candles. He does. And I like, yeah, sconces, stuff like that. Yes, sconces. Sconces and candles. Grass sconces. But, like, that would be a great thing for Todd to give me. I'm just throwing that out there right now. What are you getting? I mean. What are you getting, Matt? Well, I just figured out last night that I have to get him a gift because I got chained into buying him a gift. Now you have to get him a gift. Well, she doesn't like Valentine's Day. That's why she's saying that. She's one of the ones that, like, made up holiday. Like, I like Valentine's Day. It is made up. Well, of course it is. Matt and I talked about this. The color combination of the red and the pink together is just like blech. That's pretty hideous. It's disgusting. But you've been shamed into getting him a gift? Yeah, because last night at the Super Bowl party, everyone's talking about what they want, what they're going to get. And Melissa actually said that she wanted a specific Tiffany's bracelet or something from Tiffany's for...
Valentine's Day. And I was like, man. Now I have to love Matt through a gesture. I hate it. I don't think you need to go that above and beyond, though. I don't think it should be more than a $100 gift. God forbid you go above and beyond for your woman. I might cook him a steak. Something like that. That's big, because I don't eat red meat. So if I prepared a steak, that's love. That is love. That would be good. Hope you choke on it. Hope you're enjoying that cow that you're eating. I hope you're enjoying reading the $6 card I bought for you. Waste of paper. Moo, monster. Girls are really good at listening to their man, though, and the things that they want and the things that they need. Men are not. It's a gift that we have. Men are not. Which is why I'm saying over the next week before Valentine's Day, just listen to some of the things they're saying. And then you get it, right? Make a mental note. M1JP. Hey, what's happening, guys? Hey, Woodsy. Mikey, I got your back. They're totally wrong. Thank you, brother. I listen to that. It's a guy calling in. Yeah, I think sparkly things in any box get them happy. I'd rather have dead flowers in three days with a nice card. Yeah.
Well, I'm going to make Lauren a Valentine's card made out of grass and twigs and berries. I'm going to write my name in berries. But you know what? Lauren would probably be like, this is awesome. This is amazing. She would. Lauren wants to date the guy from Into the Wild so that he'll just go forage somewhere. That's too extreme. That's too extreme. He's like, look, I shot this rabbit for you, okay? You probably like a... Cost Plus. Have you ever been to Cost Plus World Market? Love that place. It's totally Lauren. M1 Marissa says, I'd be flattered if a guy got me a Tiffany stuff. If a guy got me something from Tiffany. Because it's expensive and good quality. Tell Sienna she didn't speak for all of us girls. I never said that I did. I said, I know some girls want it. I'm speaking from what I think and that it's not all girls that want it. Because what Wood said was, you can't go wrong. You can't. Yeah, that's how this all started. Yes, you can. Not all girls want it. M1 Lizzie says, Mikey, the girls are wrong. So many of my girls love Tiffany's. There are only three women, so they are.
Wrong. Well, it doesn't make us wrong. It makes us entitled to our opinion. And all we were saying was he's not right. If your girl is the kind of girl that drops the blue box hints, then follow some cues. Yep. But if you know them well enough to know that that's not what they like. Like, I would buy you yogurt. And you would be happy. I would buy you yogurt. If Todd was like, dude, I don't know what to get, Sienna, and you said Tiffany, he would know. No, she doesn't want that. Yeah. You guys met Whitney last night, right? Yes. She made that really good cheese with hamburger in it. Oh, so good. So good. Hamburger helper? It was so good. You dipped the chips in it. Yeah. We call it queso. Queso. Delicious. She says, she texted in. She said, it's so not the gift and where it came from. It's the guy in his heart. Yes. If he goes to Tiffany's because he loves me and wants to make me happy, then it's precious. If he goes to the mom and pop shop because he loves me and he wants to make me happy, it's precious. Precious. If he wants to break out the freaking saw house because he loves me and wants to make me happy, again, precious. Pressure is off, guys. Love us and give us a gift because you do it. And I think it depends on who it's coming. I mean, that's a good point, too, who it's coming from. If you would never picture him walking his little butt into Tiffany's or like. Todd would be so uncomfortable. If it would be cute to picture him doing that and like, you know.
I met Whitney's significant other. I could never picture him doing that. So it's like the fact that he would do something like that would be like, okay, that's really cute and sweet. And he really tried. Yeah. But all we're saying is, right, Sienna? It doesn't work foolproof every time with every chick. Yeah. Every time. Know your chick. I'm not backing off, dude. I just don't. He's like sticking with the panther bits in his cologne as well. Whatever works. Mikey, boutiques are cool for special gifts like a place like Swirls in Encinitas. By the way, Uggs are dumb here in SoCal. That's M1R Cali. Isn't Swirls a frozen yogurt place? I think so. Get some yogurt for you, like I said. I love Uggs. I think Uggs on girls look sexy. I don't really mind them. I was just saying that the whole originality thing is... It's kind of a tough argument because every person looks the same these days. Every person. Do you know how disgusting basketball shoes are? They're hideous. There's not one good-looking bear basketball shoes, but that's what you wear for the game. Ugg boots, they're so comfortable. I'm not saying, geez, I look super hot in my Ugg boots. I'm just like, I get up early in the morning, and they're so comfortable to put on. I hear you. I get that. But it's the originality thing.
It bothers me. Get over it. Jewelry is completely different than your shoes. Yes, they're functional. And if it ain't broke. We interrupt this conversation to listen to what Daughtry sounded like before the Super Bowl yesterday. Daughtry sang before the Super Bowl yesterday. Perfect. By the way, Lauren couldn't name one Daughtry song. She's like, I have no idea what he does. I knew who he was. I didn't know what he sang. He's got a pencil-thin beard. When will that thing go away? And a mascara. If you're trying to picture him. Does he? Bald head, pencil-thin beard, like, color me bad. I don't think he wears the mascara. I remember one time on American Idol, they did it for him. The makeup artist put it on. And I remember Simon Cowell specifically saying, not for you, don't do it. And I haven't seen it since. Yeah, I have a Daughtry album. I think Daughtry's good. Weird. Yeah, I think it's... I think it's catchy. I'm coming home. I think it's catchy. Listen, I was raised on Journey. Boston. Boston. Elton John. Pop music. I was raised on it. Mike and the Mechanics. I think that his voice has a nice tone to it. Is he a country singer or a pop? He's a pop singer. It's like pop.
Rock. He's got a little Creed Nickelback thing going on. A little bit. Woods, you hate it, right? I've never heard this song. Yeah, I do. He's sweating over here. He's so worked up from the Tiffany conversation that Woods is about to have a heart attack from that Tiffany conversation. Like, it worked him up into a forensic... He has to get the final word. He keeps going, every time. Every time. Yeah, the microphones go off. He goes... Y'all are liars. Y'all are liars. Jamie, I have to hand it to you. Wow. She's a saint. Oh, I didn't even tell you about the Sarah Palin thing. So you got to do that. I got to tell you what the strangers in San Diego did for the homeless UCSD student, which is so cool. Then get to it. Have to get to it next. Don't go anywhere. It's a Mikey show, which you can call, by the way, 570-1949 or text now. 949mikey at gmail.com. Mikey Show's back. And, by the way, don't know when. Mikey Show's most controversial morning. It's been heated. Right. I'm over it. I wish people could hear the conversations off the air. And it's everybody going at everybody going, that's not right. That's not true. I'm over the whole thing. Hey, it'd be boring if we all had the same opinion, right? We don't.
We do not have the same opinions. Definitely, for sure. 570-1949 is the number if you want to give us a call. Is Sarah Palin running for president in 2012? She said she would consider to run for president in 2012 if the situation was right for her family and the nation. So it's a possibility. She says she's definitely considering it. She said, I think it would be absurd if not to consider it. I won't close the door. That perhaps could be open for me in the future. As a conservative, I hope she doesn't. Does not. As a human being. Yeah, as a liberal, I hope she does. I don't think she will. You don't? No. Well, I just, she has been painted into being a dummy. I don't think she's a dummy. I think she's been painted into being a dummy. She's a pretty good artist that way. Here's what she had to say about Obama. Now a year later, I got to ask those supporters of all that. How's that hopey changey stuff working out for you? Wow. She's so irritating. Yeah, I think there is a little bit of that irritation, which is why I hope she doesn't run. Hopey changey, poopy doopy. Well, she does that kind of I'm just a regular person thing. I can see China, too. She kind of reminds me of Rachel Ray. No, come on. Really? Yeah, I don't know what.
You know who Rachel Ray is? Rachel Ray is the next Martha Stewart. No. You know who Rachel Ray? No. FoodNet? You don't watch FoodNet? No, dude. She's a big deal. Kid watches a DVD player in a lonely Three's Company lab that he lives in. Lab. It's cracked in. Yeah. I'm just watching Sopranos over and over and over and over and over. Rachel Ray says EVOO. Extra virgin olive oil. Really? You never heard of her? Woodsy's never heard of her. How is that? I don't watch the Food Network. She's everywhere. Yeah, she kind of is, dude. All right. Nope. Anybody going to get a Coke? I'm just asking. Anybody going by the Coke machine? Nope. The only reason I ask is because it's near Nebraska from civilization. If you want to get one here at the station. You have to go over the steeplechase to get that. You do. You get across the moat. Yeah. Swing on a vine. So excited. Before the first of the year, I left town and went for work, and I came back, and you weren't on the radio station anymore, and I was so sad because I listen to you every morning. And I just got to the job site, and I was flipping through the radio stations and heard you on this channel. You've got to say, my day just got 20 times better, man. That is awesome. I'm very excited that you are on the radio still. Dude, it trips me out. I've got to tell you, Adam, it trips me out. How many people still don't know that the Mikey show is back on the radio, but that it's on FM 94.9? I know. Well, I can tell you right now that almost all my friends probably don't know because they straight stopped listening to the radio when you went off of the other station. And, you know, I flipped it on and I was like, what is this? Where's Mikey? And then, you know. I flipped around the radio stations and found you today. And I can tell you right now, you're going to get about 100 other listeners on this. Solid. That's great. Everybody. Thanks, brother. Thank you, man. You made my day and my year. Thank you. Wow. Awesome. We appreciate it, brother. Thank you, Adam. All right, bro. Have a good day. Yeah, and it's M1 Nation, so people know. Mikey's show is M1s. Danny's already redone the deal. It's now M1 site. But while he was taking pictures, he was like, oh, that was just awesome. He made me feel like Johnny Depp. Oh, you look so good. And it's like, I want to take pictures with you every day before I go to work while I'm getting ready. He must have a magic camera because he made me look good. Danfieldsphotography.com. Thank you so much for listening and not listening to that other show that you were once listening to. That's right. Okay, so first of all, we got to do... There's a few things I wanted to get to that I just haven't yet. I told you about...
The UCSD. We did Sarah Palin. Right. The UCSD. Tell this story. This is great. This is really crazy. A 21-year-old student at UCSD. He's a junior. He's majoring in computer engineering. His name is David. He won't give his last name. But basically, this is his third year going to college there. Something happened to his parents. His dad lost his job, could no longer pay his tuition. His mother got breast cancer. She was also pitching in for tuition, so she couldn't do it anymore. So basically, he got kicked out of the campus where he was living on campus, got kicked out because he couldn't pay rent, started living in his car. Every morning, he woke up extra early, went to the nearby 24-Hour Fitness, worked out there. He had a membership there, showered there in the morning, got ready for school. Well, the story got out, and a family was like, this is the most inspiring thing. This guy will do anything to get a college education. You know, he's sleeping in his car. He had one blanket. And so they took him in. Oh, wow. And I mean, he's, you know, paying his own tuition and everything. But they're, you know, giving him food, shelter, shower, everything. That's cool. So it's just so amazing. That's so like they just said they were touched by his story. No, it's a great story. I know. And it's so while they were watching the movie The Blind Side, they decided to do it. Yeah. I haven't seen that yet. I've seen the previews. It looks pretty good. Yeah, it looks good.
Now, this is one of those deals with if you have kids, this is an email that we got that if you have kids and if you don't have kids, this is going to be something where you're going to want to listen up. If you're going to have kids someday. Sienna. It's a no-brainer. Sienna was born to be a mom. I was really sad yesterday when we were at your house and the kids were upstairs and I couldn't hold them. I was like, come back down. Can I just address that real quick? What? Every time Jake would come in or the kids would come down, I was like, we've got to get him out of here because we invited and we said... Get a babysitter to people. Oh, but it was the highlight of the party. And so every time they came down, I thought people were like, oh, really? But you can have your kids here. No. I wanted so bad for the twins to come down so I could hold one of them. I did, too. But I just didn't want people to think like, oh, yeah, the rules apply to you guys, but not us. Can we just talk about Jake for a minute? How great was he? He's amazing. Every time Jake walked in the room, he's like, walked up quietly. And then he's like, I'm here. Plung his arms in the air. And I was like, oh, he's like, let me hear you clap.
And he's like, goodbye, everyone. And then he was gone. It was great. But every time he did, I kept thinking that every judgmental eye was looking at him going, how come we couldn't bring our kids? But your kid gets to come in and do a talent show. Because he lives there. I kept thinking, why can't he stay? Because we put on the invitation, no kids. Yeah, whatever. Yours don't count. There's an adults-only party. There's an adults-only party. What are you supposed to do, lock them up? You know, we were getting crazy and drinking wine. Wine and just cheese logs. Dipping spinach. Spinach everywhere. jalapeno popper. I was really sad that there actually weren't jalapeno poppers. There was brie, though. How dare you? It was goat cheese. It was almond encrusted brie. There was no hot wings, but there was brie there. Woodsy goes, this is the most adult party I've ever been to in my life. He goes, I'm officially grown up. Yeah, I'm officially grown up. People drinking huge goblets of wine. Where's the keg? Bring me a goblet.
I would like one, please. That's not true. Todd showed up. Todd bought an 18-pack of canned Miller Lite. Already opened. He just came from his bachelor party. It looks like he just came crawling out of a donkey's mouth. He comes in with an 18-pack. He's like, hey, let's do this. That's amazing. Love that dude. He opened him in the... I shouldn't say that, probably. He couldn't wait until he got to the party. Self-edit. Self-edit. This email says, Mikey, you're a father of three. It's late night. It's late at night. My wife and I have barely slept in days, and our baby's crying again. I want to run next door and quiet and comfort him, but my wife is worried he'll never learn to sleep alone if we always answer the cries. I'm about to lose it. I have to get up at 5 a.m. every day. What should we do when the baby won't sleep? And here's the question. Should we let him cry it out? It's M1 Sammy. Sammy, the one in Poway. There's a whole method that they call that. Yeah, it's a whole thing. And you either you got your philosophy on it or you don't. But there is a philosophy on it. Now, I don't have anything to do with this stuff. This is my my wife figures all this stuff out. OK, so I asked her about it. She wrote me an email. I said, babe, what do we do? What's the deal? You tell me what we do. What would you do with the kids in this situation?
Well, here's the deal. With Jake, she said that we let him, we didn't let him cry it out as much. Firstborn. Yeah. We didn't let him cry it out as much. And the pediatrician was recommending that we do, that we let him cry it out a little bit more. And if you can, instead of me, Jake, can you hear me? Instead of me explaining the whole thing, see if you can get her on the phone. Because she has a very different take on this now, having more kids. And if you have more than one kid, you kind of learn that as you have more kids, things that used to trip you out don't trip you out anymore. Right. Yeah. Because I was a fourth kid. I was practically, you know, it was like I was raised by wolves. You were eating dirt. It just didn't matter. Oh, I know. Oh, they'll be fine. A dirt sandwich. It's fine. They can eat the dirt. Yeah, he'll be fine. 570-194 on that. What do you do? You could cry all night. Pack on them, though. We'll see. You've got different cries as you. Yeah, is there something really wrong with them? 570-1949, your philosophy on that. You just let the kid cry? What do you do? I wear earplugs. Stop! I wear earplugs every now and then. You're a monster. I wear earplugs. You're a monster. Yeah, yeah, I wear them. You have three children. Earplugs. I can't... Listen. You have an amazing wife. Yes. Here's the thing. If...
If a mouse farts three stories down. Same way, dude. I'm like, what? What is that? Same way. Same way. I need a coffin to sleep in, dude. That's my dream. You guys need to chill out, apparently. Financial media station, the new home of The Mikey Show. This is FM 94.9. Jay, if you're going by the Coke machine, I am. He really wants a Coke. This is what our days are like. A diet A&W root here, to be exact. Prisoners. We live a terrible life here. Well, the thing is, it's a great life, but the Coke machine happens to be four miles from... I had to leave Woods some antibacterial hand gel because I knew he didn't have time to wash his hands. That's true. I'm glad you used it, my friend. Hit me with that again. I'm glad you used it. Here you go. We're all glad. Hit me, dude. Kerry Prejean is engaged to somebody famous. Who? It is a NFL player named Kyle Bowler. Kyle Bowler. He's a quarterback for the Ravens. I would have never been able to tell you that. Joe Flacco is their starter. He used to be. I think he's still there.
second string. They began dating in July and he proposed on Saturday, which I think is a little soon. A little premature. How do you guys know? When you know what you know. But they started dating in the middle of all of her drama, you know, and it's like he just wanted to get on the bandwagon. He wanted to get on the I hate you bandwagon? No, he just wants us to say, Kyle who? Kyle who? Listen, here's the deal. First of all, On the Carrie Prejean thing. Because this morning, as we were talking about it, we were like, oh yeah, somebody goes, oh yeah, she's the one that hates gays, right? I'm like, no. She doesn't hate gays. She, if given the opportunity to vote whether or not gays should be allowed to marry, would vote no. Wasn't she at a Miss America pageant and she said, in my country, as if we were all in... Different country. Did she? No. Yeah, I think she did. Are you sure you're not thinking of the girl that was like, when she was talking about, in the Iraq? No, she said, I think she said, in my country. That was so tense. Totally different.
Pretty sure she said, in my country, and then she corrected herself. I could see her saying that. In my family. She's definitely not very bright, but I have to hand it to her. What do you mean she's not very bright? I think she's very bright. But no, I'm going to say, but I have to hand it to her. You know, for everything she said, she stuck by it. And most girls would have been like, you're right, I'm sorry. You know, I shouldn't have done that. Kind of like the kid with Tiffany's. Yeah, kid stuck by his opinion. That's what I'd do. Get over yourself, my friend. That's what I'd do. Get over yourself. Well, here's the deal. Listen, I, and I'm not trying to. pick a scab off of anything here honestly but i shared the same opinion you know the thing is is that uh it's just very interesting to me that uh the same folks that are very that are just over and over again preaching tolerance right are very intolerant of my intolerance yeah it's the beautiful part about being an american dude you can kind of say and feel the way you want to yeah you know 570-1949. The topic from the email that we read was about whether or not you're supposed to, should you let kids cry it out? If your kid, because doesn't it kind of go against nature if your kid is crying to not do anything? Isn't this like, are we talking babies? Babies. Babies. Oh, I feel so bad. I know, me too. I'll be the guy in there every 30 seconds. And then that'll be like Pavlov's dog. I know. They'll know. They'll know. That's right. Every time they cry. I feel like to shake them.
No, you don't do that, right? You never shake a baby. M1 Wendy? Yes? Go ahead. Well, I have a six-month-old baby, and I kind of have the same problem. Sometimes she sleeps through the night. Sometimes she doesn't. But I never let her cry it out. She's my firstborn. We didn't either with Jake. We didn't either. We didn't let him cry it out at all. And now having twins? We let them... Well... They wake each other up, I bet. That's got to be double hard. Well, Rebecca's got this system that she does. And here's the system. Because she wrote me about it, but I want to get her on. Did she have to go? Did she have to... Jay, did Rebecca have to go? I saw the hotline ringing. I think she had to hang up and then she tried calling back and we didn't answer. She must have. I must have missed. I can get her back on. Okay. Possibility I hung up on her. I don't know what I was doing in there. Well, yeah, because it's easier for her to explain. But there's like a whole system. Now, me personally, I feel like Rebecca's right in that you got to let them know that they're okay. But the last thing you do is pick them up.
See, that would be the first thing I did. Yeah, right? I wouldn't be able to control myself. I know, me too. But you got to be tough. Not tough when it comes to kids or dogs. No, but I'm telling you, dude, if you don't, what will happen is, it's like Lauren said, it's like Pavlov's dog. You train them, all they got to do is that. I've done it both ways. Oh, we hear Rebecca. Yeah, we hear the phone. He's done it both. Well, he's got four kids, Jay. You know what I mean? Let's see. M1 Jason. M1 Jason, you there? Let's go to M1 Teresa. Yeah. How are you guys doing this morning? Good. How are you doing? Good. I have four kids, all girls. And my youngest is almost six months old. And the crying thing, it really, really just depends. But with her, with my youngest daughter, Maya, when she was first born in the hospital, I could not put her down at all. She wanted to eat like 24-7. Right. And she would cry. So now...
At this age, over the last couple of months, what I do with her is I calm her down. I just talk to her. I won't pick her up until she calms down. How old? She's almost six months. That's interesting. I've never even heard of that. What about the swaddling and stuff? Oh, yeah. Swaddle is big. There's something called a woomy. But you don't want to do that when they're supposed to be sleeping. You want to do that in the middle of the daytime. If they're crying in the middle of the daytime, I'll recommend this book to every parent listening right now. If you're pregnant right now and you're going to have a kid, remember this. Remember this. This book is called The Happiest Baby on the Block. Even Lauren, who's not even married and doesn't even have kids, at some point. I'm soon to be an auntie. Remember The Happiest Baby on the Block. And Sienna, remember that. This book is like the guy's a baby whisperer. We had another caller talking about another book on there. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's M1's Scott. Are you there, Scott? Yeah, I'm here. What book? Baby Wise. I've heard of that. It's a good one. With our first one, we had her sleeping through the night within a month. And our second daughter, she was sleeping through the night within about three months.
That's pretty cool, man. Yeah, obviously you've got to take it like a grain of salt. It sounds a little hardcore at times, but it works. It works, and it doesn't have any lasting effect. My wife's on the line. Hi, hon. Hi. So tell everybody about this system that you did and the system that you do now. Yeah, well, with Jake, we never let him cry it out. I was a freak. I was like, oh, my gosh, he can't cry one second. At about 14, 15 months, when I was still getting up three or four times a night, I'm like, oh my gosh, this is brutal. So ultimately, we ended up having to let him cry it out. And the thing that sucked so bad about it was that he, it was like, it was so much harder on him. You know what I mean? Because he was like conditioned at that point. What happened? What did I do? What did I do? Yeah, what did I do? And why, you know, why are you doing this to me? So what's the new way? Yeah, so with the twins, what I do, I've done a lot of reading and I checked with the pediatrician and stuff. I do this kind of combination system where you do let them cry it out, but you go in and, like, let them know that you're there. And you don't even start doing it until five months because before that they're, you know, they're too little. You know what I mean? But after that.
After about four or five months, then you start doing a thing where if they start crying at night, you go in after a minute and you just kind of pat them and say, you know, it's time for bed. You know, you need to go to sleep. And then you leave. Because they're speaking. I'm getting tired right now. I know. And if they keep crying, you wait for five more minutes and then you go in again and you, you know, you kind of do it again. And then if they keep crying, you wait 10 minutes. And then, but as you, every time you go in, you're like, connection with them or whatever kind of decreases so you stop making eye contact and you don't talk to them because you don't want them to like. Sounds awful. Lauren's heart is breaking in half. It is. So is Woodsy's. I'm telling you guys, though, they don't remember it. Yeah. I believe that that works. It's really hard, you guys. It's really, really hard, but I can say that, like, for the twins, you know, they're turning six months tomorrow, and, you know, a lot of the times Ryan sleeps through the night already. You know, and on the nights that he doesn't, he only wakes up once. And, you know, for me, like crying, the crying it out, it's so hard to do. But I feel like if I'm going in, I don't want them to feel like I've abandoned them. You know, I don't want them to feel like I left them out. So I send them a postcard. So by going in, even though it's so hard, like I'm letting them know I love you. I'm here, but I'm choosing not to pick you up right now because it's time to sleep. You know?
And the worst gets over with in about a week. And then, you know, it gets better. Thanks, babe. Love you. I love you. Love you, too. Bye. Every time. It works, though. I'm telling you, man. It works. It just goes against human nature to not. You want to help. But I believe that that works. How about the clown that lets his kid cry out on the plane? How about that guy? Oh, my God. In the movie theater. Or in the restaurant. I'm like, and I love kids. Like, I love, love, love kids. And I'm really good with kids. But what are you supposed to do on the plane? Take them outside. On the plane? On the wing? Walk around. Yeah, sit on the wing. Walk on the wing for a while. Walk them. Do something. Up and down the aisle. I'll tell you what you do. I feel so bad. Their ears probably hurt. When we were, this was a, and parents can relate to this, they have their little kids on baby heroin. What baby heroin is, it's called a pacifier. That's baby heroin. Really? It's not bad.
We do it. We give the kids pacifiers. I'm just telling you, trying to get them to come off of it is like trying to get somebody to come off heroin. It's like crack. Oh, yeah, it's like crack. Oh, the pacifier, trying to get them to not use the pacifier. Okay, so Jake was three months old, and we were going to New York City. And we're on the flight, and we know that we have, and parents will understand when there's a windup, okay? It's kind of the same kind of wind up that a pitcher goes through before he throws a pitch. And Jake is getting into the wind up. OK, we have approximately 90 seconds to produce a pacifier. He's not crying yet, but he's in the wind up. And in 90 seconds, he's going to lift off. I know that one. And he's going to go orbital. Does he do the silent cry? He does. It starts like this. It starts with a little bit of the. The bottom lip starts to go in and out, and so the bottom lip goes in and out, and he's like... He's gearing up. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's a wind-up. And Rebecca goes, uh-oh. And so she's looking through her big bag of tricks, right? She's looking in there, and she looks at me. She looks at me like we have 30 seconds of oxygen left. Yeah, yeah. And she goes, it's not here. Oh, no. And I go, no, no, no, babe. No, no, no, no, no, no. Don't say it. No, no.
Good time, Mom. Let me tell you. Never in a million years would I ever think that we would ever do this, but we did. We asked the airline attendant to ask on the, speak on the. Stop it. If anybody had an extra pacifier. No way. Does anyone have an extra binky on there? Does anyone have a little bottle of Jack Daniels? And we took a stranger's. Pacifier. That seems like something you would never do. But I'm telling you, when you're in that place where you know, and as soon as he got it, fine. What's that flight, about six? Six hours. Of just screaming. Oh, he was fine, though. But let me tell you, that thing could have come from engine grease. Just in a gutter. In a gutter. And I would have accepted it. Yeah. I would have wiped it off on my H1N1 T-shirt and let him use it because I'm telling you, that pacifier is. I cannot. You are the man that is scared to ask for his food to be fixed. I had to weigh. Rebecca asked. I had to weigh the consequences of him not having a pacifier in his mouth. And you being embarrassed. And oh. It all came down to you being judged, right? Oh, absolutely. I would have been thought like.
If he'd have cried, everyone hates my guts. Like, they hate me. They hate you right now. And all they're doing is... Shut the kid up. Trying to sleep. Oh, goodness. Please make me... Shut up. I wouldn't be able to take it. I would open the door of the plane and jump out. Yeah. So, anyway, 570-1949. M1, Katie is on the line. Hi, Katie. Hi, Katie. How are you? Hi. I'm fine. How are you? The Katie Show. Doing very well. Oh, yeah. The Katie Show. I have a 15-week-old, and he's wonderful. He's doing great. I read a lot of books before he was born to kind of get my husband and I on the same page in terms of what we thought we wanted to do, whether it was crying it out or whatever. And we've kind of come to the terms that, you know, what your last caller said, I think it was your wife, that, you know, we go in there, whether he's crying in the middle of the night or in the day.
Sometimes he'll startle himself out of a nap. And we just let him know that we're there. So we just say, you know, it's okay. You know, we're here. It's time to sleep. And then the next level, if he continues to go, is just kind of gently rocking the mattress back and forth. Our philosophy is the least intervention possible. And if it escalates to the point where he just is, like, frantically moving his hands and working himself up, we'll pick him up for about 30 seconds and just rock him a little bit. He'll immediately kind of quiet down. because that's what he wants. And then we'll put him right back in the crib and just kind of hold his hands a little bit. And then it's almost like an escalate. You know, we go up, hold him, and then it's all the way back down, gently rocking the mattress, say his name as we walk out of the room, even if he's still awake, just letting him know that we're still there. And, you know, at nine weeks, he was sleeping at least eight hours a night, and he's doing great now. Nice. Good work, Katie. Thanks. You're getting a job done. She's got it down. You got it. That's impressive. Nine weeks? Yeah, that's awesome. Sleeping eight hours a night? That's awesome. That's very good. So, I don't know if you've heard it, but in case you haven't, Warren Sapp got arrested yesterday morning. The guy who's on the NFL Network was supposed to spend all day yesterday. The guy was supposed to be all day long on TV before the Super Bowl. He was in jail instead. He was in jail. Yeah. And he's no longer on the NFL Network. For now, yep. And Woodsy's going to tell you what he did next. That's right.

Says he's getting all you girls some Tiffany stuff. Love Dan. He's the best. He is the best. Digging the music today, Woods. Thank you. Digging it. Thank you. What is that, Woods? It's Band of Horses, dude. What is that? It's called Band of Horses. It's the band. They're incredible. He has only said, I can sleep so far. That's all he said. I can wake up. That's all he said. 570-1949. is our phone number, if you'd like to get a hold of us. I get killed for the music that I like, but this dude can say, I can sleep five times and you're in love with me. I don't care what anybody says, man. That was a good Super Bowl. That was fun. Great Super Bowl. That was fun to watch. You know, it was... Close. It was a close game. Closer than the score would indicate. That's right. And I don't know if you heard about Warren Sapp, but what did he do?
Well, dude, the guy went out for a big blowout with a bunch of people in Miami and, you know, came back and basically assaulted his girlfriend. Was charged on Saturday with one charge of misdemeanor domestic battery. The incident happened about 5 a.m. in his hotel room. And so basically what happened is he got arrested and didn't get out of jail until 11 a.m. Sunday morning. which, of course, was Super Bowl Sunday. And I'm sure coverage on the NFL Network started at 6 a.m. So as they were getting ready to go, Warren was in the pokey. Can you believe that? That's so immature and terrible. He's just ruined now at this point. It's one of those deals where it's deserved. There's no doubt about it. Whenever I hear stories like that, it doesn't matter if it's that or if it's getting into drunk driving or whatever it is. I always, from a human perspective, feel for people who can't get out of their own way. I know. They can't figure it out. And you just so badly want to go, don't choose that. Don't choose that. Don't do that. Do something different. Yep, exactly. Also, this was a pretty funny story. So Chad Ochocenco, the Bengals receiver, wants a new buddy. And you know who that buddy is? Who? T.O.
He would love T.O. to get traded to the Bengals. And your boy T.O. said if he does wind up on the Bengals, he's going to change his name to Ocho Uno because he's 81. Of course he would. And knowing him and what a clown he is, he probably would. He probably would. He makes more moves than like a chess pawn. How many teams has he been on? About five. Yeah, about five. But I think we're coming to the end. He's turning into like the Dennis Rodman. Is there room for both of them on that team? That's the thing. That's two giant heads to fit through a door. That's going to be the tough part. Chad is the better of the two receivers. But Chad's incredible. At this point in his career. No doubt. No doubt. Also, Padres fans, one of your most beloved heroes, Brian Giles, is now a Los Angeles Dodger. Really? Yeah. Who's the Padres' biggest rival? Dodgers probably? Dodgers and the Giants. Dodgers and the Giants. I'd say the Giants probably more. Yeah, they're going to use him off the bench to come in, left-handed bat. He didn't have a very good year last year. He's getting old. He's 39. He's about at the end of his rope.
39 and... 39 at the end of his rope. You didn't even... That's how old Mike is. Yeah, 39 years old, if you're an athlete, it's the end of the line. You're done. Yeah. Unless you're Brett Favre. Yeah. And you can keep doing it as long as you want. As long as you want. Did you see that Super Bowl commercial from 2020? Yeah, what did you guys think of that? That was pretty funny. Did you like that? Sienna, did you see that one? I don't know. I don't think so. Oh, yeah, where you had gray hair and... Oh, Brett Favre. Yeah, Brett Favre. It was pretty funny. Brett Favre. Hologram. Favre. I think I have it even. Let me play it for you. Brett Favre, the idea of it is that it's 20 years from now. And Brett Favre is still playing football and winning the MVP in the year 2020. Be here after 29 seasons, 50 years old. When you're older than most of the fans and coaches and owners, it's tough taking orders from people. Should probably retire after this. Love it. I don't know. We don't know what things will be like 10 years from now. Self-deprecation, it helps you to like something. It really does. Right? It does. When he calls attention to it, it makes it better. You got anything else? No, that's it. Is that it? Have I told you the story about the explosion at the Connecticut power plant? Because this is everywhere, dude. It is everywhere. There was a power plant. Can we pause just for a moment? Yeah. How many times does Woodsy...
Do the stuff on the hands during one show. Obsessive. Now my antibacterial hand gel is gone because I gave it to him. I like the way it smells. Dude, it's like he's making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, though. How much he uses. He puts so much of it on there. And then every five minutes... I'm like, is Bear Grylls lighting a fire in a cave? And I look over and I know it's woodsy. It's antibacterial. How come you put it on so much? I don't know. I gave it to him because he had to run to the bathroom in 30 seconds and he knew he wasn't going to wash his hands afterwards. And he didn't. And then he gave me it back and then all of a sudden now he has it again. And now it's empty. He's a person of excess. Are you afraid of germiness? Oh, thanks. You just like to put stuff on. It's a habit.
He's like obsessive. Why do I eat pens? Kid loves the product. That's right. Why do I eat pens? I eat every pen. No, no, no. It's uncapped. He just made a point with his teeth. It looked like it was uncapped and you were chewing on the end of a highlighter. He's created a point with his teeth. I'm making you a Valentine's Day present, actually, is what I'm doing over here. Yeah, he's chewing you a little bear. He's whittling. Okay, anyway, so what's the deal? So there's this power plant in Connecticut. It's been under construction. And a bunch of the workers were purging natural gas lines. And something went wrong. There was a very, very powerful explosion that blew off part of the building, which happened yesterday morning around 1117. Five people that were working in the building were killed. And there's at least 12 injured. This was just crazy. It was a 620 megawatt plant that was being built to produce energy, primarily using natural gas. So, yeah, something went wrong. There was an explosion, and this story has just been everywhere. Firefighters have been searching the debris, trying to find if there's more dead bodies. Where is this? In Connecticut. It just says Connecticut. It's a tiny little city. Middletown. Okay, yeah, pick three cities. Middletown. I lived there for six years. No? Yeah, that's too bad, man. This was...
Right before the Super Bowl started yesterday, every year for the Super Bowl, what you have is America the Beautiful and the National Anthem. Queen Latifah sang America the Beautiful. And nobody really knows why. And by that, I mean, well, you know, she's not necessarily like a... Queen? Current. Yeah, well, she's not a queen. Do you think people in other countries are like, wow, that's their queen. She is fancy. That's their queen. They're like, wow, America's got an interesting queen. I mean, she's a pop star in a movie, so. The cover girl. But anyway, yeah, I don't know why Queen Latifah sang the national anthem. Because she's not a current pop star. They couldn't get Ed Begley Jr. Yeah, because they couldn't get Ed Begley. Who? That's awesome. Well, hey, listen, that's just strange of a choice to me, dude, as The Who doing halftime. Git. Yeah. You just compared Queen Latifah and The Who. Well, they're very comparable. The Who's in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They're both irrelevant to music today. Exactly. Zero percent. Queen Latifah is just always there. She's just always there. She's always making the scene. Ladies and gentlemen, in celebration of our beautiful country.
Grammy-winning recording artist Queen Latifah. Did you guys notice she had something wrong with her earpiece? Yeah. No. She started singing. She immediately had to take her earpiece off. Then she was reaching for it. She was messing her up. Did that bum you out? Yeah. Because your boyfriend's a musician and you knew it. Well, she couldn't hear herself. See how much we're figuring Lauren out? I figured that out immediately. That's her job. Inappropriate cheering. I think they're piping that cheer noise in. Really? No. I think they are. Why would they do that? Well, why would the entire audience decide at that moment? Because they're just like, we're at the Super Bowl. This is nuts. At the same time? Same time. Yeah. I think they're piping it in. Well, same thing. We were talking about the national anthem. Carrie Underwood sang the national anthem. And unlike any national anthem I've ever heard.
There's cheering going on while she's singing it. That's when the vendors decided to walk around with the corn dogs. Right. Is that it? Give me a corn dog! And now to honor America, five-time Grammy Award winner Carrie Underwood. She really did look great. She's from, like, poopsicle Arkansas. Yeah, she is. I mean, just this little tiny town in the middle of nowhere. Didn't know what, like, had never seen a Walmart. Never seen a toilet. Never been on a plane. Country singers? She knew how to make a banjo. Homemade. But she'd never seen a toilet before when she went on American Idol. Have you ever been to a place where they don't have toilets? Yeah. I have. Where? And it's not pleasant. Did you know that? I didn't. Pee in a hole? What do you do? You do. You have to. In other countries. You have to go in a hole. I had to. There was a hole and you have to squat over it. Where did you go? Morocco. Really? And you did? It was terrifying. I got salmonella poisoning too. Did they have a... There's just a hole. Did they have TP?
Use your hand. You're supposed to, right? You're not supposed to use your hand. I think you are. No, you're supposed to drip it dry. Some places have like a... You're supposed to do both businesses in a whole. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you are. I've heard horror stories about bathroom scenarios in other countries. We're getting a little off track here. Weird. Just carry toilet paper in your purse. Tip of the day. But my deal is that this Carrie Underwood, she was from the tiniest little town. Podunk. In rural something. Yeah, probably Texas. Louisiana or something. Went on American Idol. One kid will find out. Won it. And now she's a super, five Grammys. I thought that was a prerequisite, though, for any country star. You have to be from the middle of nowhere. Yeah, you do. No. Unless you're, who's the Australian clown? Keith Urban. I know. Or Shania Twain. You're not a cowboy, dude. You grew up down under. Okay? Excuse me.
You're not a cowboy. Excuse me. Every woman who likes country music loves Airmen. What does he have to do with Nashville, though? Nothing. He's hot. He's a giant DB. And he can sing country music. He can play the guitar. Excuse me. He married Nicole Kidman. Yeah. Creamy, milky white. No thanks. Don't make fun of milky white. You are milky white. I am milky white. Hey, I'm going to start tanning soon. No, you're not. I'm not going to let it happen. Chakota, Oklahoma. Chakota. I've been there. Population six. The Underwoods. The Underwoods. Used to be seven. Used to be seven. Now she's good. Now she's a national. That was weird. You guys are brutal. I know. She sounds beautiful and you guys are killing her. It's because she looks so good. You have to hate on something. She sounds great. Get up in there. That's... You're five, dude. You're five years old. That's what she said. You know that. That I was still there. Oh, that star spangled for the land. What does or mean? Over. It does? Yeah. You take the V out. I thought it was for the land of the free. So she messes up this last note. Got away from you. Yeah.
That one. That's a little pitchy, dog. Do you think she's going to have a really nice wedding? Yes. Who's she getting married? Who's she marrying? She's marrying a guy from the Ottawa Senators, Mike Fisher. Yeah. I thought you didn't want me to play that one. You gave me a look like, don't play that. Don't play that. Never mind. I'll tell you later. All right. I'm like, man, what is this? Playing some kind of illegal music here? What's going on? Woods is rolling down a river here. I got signs you're headed for a breakup. I love this song. It's probably the number one stripper song of all time, I bet. You would know. Exactly. Would I? I haven't been to a strip club in 10 years. As far as you know. This song came out 20 minutes ago. I know. Who is this? It's Deftones, man. Deftones are one of my favorite all-time bands ever. Sounds a little like Marilyn Manson. Is that his name? See, now you got me all creeped out. Because I never put him in the Marilyn Manson. Never. What's that whispering thing? Chino sings very whispery. He's cool, dude. Yeah. And they won a Grammy. Mm-hmm.
They won a Grammy. That doesn't mean that much these days. Fair enough. You guys are the biggest music. I seem to be giving them out. You can get it in a vending machine. Anybody that's ever been on American Idol gets one. You can get it from our vending machine, actually. If you're willing to make the hike. Oh, that is unfair. We can get ice cream sandwiches. Listen to the song that they won. This was the Deftones Grammy Award winning song. Oh, I hated it. Wow. I'm serious. They won a Grammy for this song. They're sponsoring the UFC fights. Oh, yeah. Lauren saw UFC this weekend and was grossed out. My wife loves it. My wife can't get enough UFC. She loves UFC. I felt tingly all over. Yeah, dude. It makes me kind of queasy. Does it really? Yeah. I don't like fights, dude. It's the best sport other than football. I think it's the best sport. Is it a sport or is it just guys beating the crap at each other? See, here's the thing. It used to be. But Dana White's a genius. Dana White, the guy, the president. He's a genius. Huge article on him. And what he did was he cleaned the sport up. He made it into a legitimate sport. Did you see the fight on Saturday night? That is not clean. Well, they are making contact with one another's bodies. It was bloody. Yeah, dude. I don't know. It can be bloody. But...
What's great about the sport is that he legitimized it in terms of making it a sanctioned sport with weight, with actual weight divisions, and made the rules so that you can't do anything you want anymore. You know, there's like rules to it. Yeah, I mean, I don't think it's not a legitimate sport. You know what I mean? It's definitely a sport that takes physical conditioning and talent and athletic ability. But dude, it just... It's just violent for me. So violent. It's violent for me. Yeah. Again, it's that human nature thing. It's like if you saw that on the street, you would want to break it up. Yeah. It'd make your stomach turn. Well, what about boxing? I can't do that either. I mean, I like boxing. That's the weird thing. Because it's not the kicking. That's what my dad says. My dad says he loves boxing because it's not. Call it the sweet science. Yeah. You know what I mean? So it's, I think boxing, I've always loved boxing. But man, even when those get really bloody and violent, I'm not a big fan. I'm not like some dope smoking hippie, but I just don't like it. Do you think he got into UFC because his name was Dana? Like the guy we saw last night, Courtney? You better be a good football player if your name's Courtney. That's right. I just remember reading a UFC story and thinking, Dana must be some gnarly chick. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Easy, Dana. You're like, wow. She really went after it. I know. Yeah, so she...
Lauren says she saw her first UFC thing and found it to be sickening because of the blood. I love it. Can't get enough of it. The place was packed with people going nuts, and I just couldn't look at the TV. I love it. Does Matt like it? He could take it or leave it. Yeah. He had to go on after it with acoustic rock. That was really appropriate. Oh, great. That was really appropriate. Poor guy. Wait a minute. The bar that you guys were at showed the UFC fight and then that? Yeah. Oh, man. Well, we were in PB, so every bar in town was showing the fight. Oh, wow. That's got to be tough. Yeah. He's like, hey, guys. I hope you enjoyed that. Let me play a song for you. I hope you enjoyed the UFC fight. And my name is Matt. Do you ever get nervous for him? It's going out to all you Matt Serafans. Here we go. I would get so nervous. It was such a bad fit, though. There should have been a hard rock band that was like... That a UFC thing, right? Yeah. But same thing. He clowned himself a few times and that won people over. That's all you got to do. That's right. Jay's chicken did go to the afterlife. That's like a dog. Makes me sad. The chicken's name was Cricket.
Poor thing. Poor cricket. Now Jay says in his recap email, she was a very sweet girl. She will be missed. And Jay finishes the sentence by saying, crazy, because as I say that, I know I'll be having hot wings later today. That chicken salad you brought today was delicious. Amazing. She got a proper burial. I hope you told the kids by now. I did. They were very sad. I'm sure. It was like three, four years that we had her. God. She gave me many a good egg. Yeah. You got to bring some eggs in, dude. Yeah, dude. What's the deal? I will. I'm eating them all right now, so. I have a slow time. For some reason, they don't produce as many. I don't know. It's cold. They just don't feel like it. They don't feel like doing it. Do you ever buy eggs at the grocery store? Ever? Around Thanksgiving or, you know, when there's something big going on where you have a lot of cooking to do. Because you have a lot of eggs on Thanksgiving. Yeah. A lot of eggs. Turkey and eggs. Yeah, because when you're making your, you know, turkey omelets. Turkey scramble. The turkey scramble. There's something I really wanted to mention. Oh, our cat's gone. Wait, what? We have two cats. Not the black cat. No, the black one's fine. Sammy. That's the only one I've ever seen. Jules. Jules. No, what's the other one? Sydney. Sydney. Yeah. Little French spy.
He's gone. I stayed at your house for, what, two weeks? I saw him one time. He poked his head around the corner, looked at me, and then bailed. Was he an outdoor cat? No, he's an indoor cat. I've never even seen him. He's in there somewhere, dude. He's hiding somewhere. No, we looked everywhere. And I call him a French spy because he kind of has that look like you just don't trust him. Yeah, you see him, and he's like, taking lunch. He's actually Pepe Le Pew. Yeah. Well, you walk into the house, and he's like. Oh, hang on a second. Meow. And you walk in the room and go, meow, meow, meow. You were just, don't give me a meow. You just said, you were on his cell phone. You were just speaking a foreign language. No, no, no, meow, meow. No, don't give me that. He's heard you saying, fat. Meow, meow, meow. Such a good visual. He's been gone. We don't know where he is. Is Rebecca sad?
Yeah, I mean, we both are. You're sad, you're not sad. They have three kids, dude. They're like, who cares about the cat? No, but those are Rebecca's babies from before you guys got together. Jake, Ryan, and Luke are Rebecca's babies. They are family members. Here's the deal. I know that she's sad, and as much as I can't stand our cats... That makes you sad. You're sad because she's sad. It does kind of bum me out, but... Like, sometimes I feel like because of the twins and, you know, with Jake, it's like sometimes I go, oh, yeah. Has anybody bothered to, like, pet the cat? Something's got to give. Yeah. You know what I mean? Not enough hands to go around. Seriously. Yeah. But he's reporting back to everybody about us over the past year and a half. And the fat guy got fired from the station. Meow. Meow. Have you guys heard of P90X? Yes, it's a workout thing. Now, I don't work out anymore. But about three months ago, I was working out. And at the time, I was working out diligently. A lot. I was. I'm sure you were. I love that just saying it makes Lauren laugh.
Picturing my little elliptical legs. What is that? None of us know what that is. No clue. I think it's Mikey's computer. I really actually secretly do. But what is it? Some reminder Rebecca set for you to take an aspirin and you forgot it. I bet it's your stick hand every time you get a message or something. 100%. I bet you're right. I'll bet you anything. Take aspirin. Take aspirin. Anyway. Pink, you know, the artist Pink? Yeah. Unfortunately. I'm not a fan either. But the reason I'm not a fan is the same reason that I wasn't a fan of Jenny McCarthy. I'm not a fan of the girls that do, like, the guy thing. Yeah. She's, like, riding motocross and spitting Copenhagen. Yeah, and spitting, and, you know, she's got big sweat pits and the whole deal. Like, I just... I'm not... I like girly girls. I like girly girls. Me too, dude. I do. And I like girly girls. And so, when...
You know, when Pink's like, yeah, you know, I was drinking Budweiser. Yeah, I was having a Bud the other day while I was farting with my boyfriend. But she was talking about, I guess, that that's the way that she stays in shape. She does that P90X. I've heard it's amazing. Dude, I've seen results. She is in really good shape, though. She's in good, good shape. I've seen amazing results. Do you do it? No. Oh. I thought about getting it. When I used to work out. I know what that sounds like now. You are so that guy. I'm telling you. I bet you have every tool, like every ab tool. Oh, not just that. I have every infomercial product. Yeah, yeah. The bouncy ball. I bet you bought one of those. Of course I have the bouncy ball. It's a good thing you don't stay up too late. The bouncy ball. Those big balls. You'll be suckered by everything on the... I still am. You get sold. I get sold a lot. Oh, yeah. SkyMall. SkyMall. Forget it. Amazing. Forget it. I'm circling stuff like a kid at Christmas. Me too. I've got to have a hot dog machine that'll actually, you put the dog and the bun in it at the same time. I've got to have one of those. Yeah. It's incredible. I'm like, oh, I want to massage my feet in water. I know. You guys. It's garbage. You don't need that. My Labrador retriever needs that bed. I don't have a lab, but you know what? That bed looks amazing. I would sleep in it. I want him to have that bed. Incredible. P90X.
Looks like it's real good. It's supposed to be just brutal. It looks really muscular and just not into that. Well, the guy that does it is real intense. Veiny. Come on, Fatso! Come on, Chubbs! Hurry, Chubbs! Yeah, they give you a CD that actually has that on it. It's weird, though, because the first disc is called Fatso 1. The second disc is called Chubbs 2. Easy, Chubbs. Get off the couch. Oh, man. We have to go, huh? Do we? I think so. Bumsers. We didn't do the five signs you're headed towards a breakup. Oh, yeah, yeah. You want me to do them real quick? Yeah. Real quick. Okay. Now, I got to ask Jay. Jay, is this where we actually, when we do break, is it where we say goodbye? Absolutely. Okay, got it. So you have two minutes. Go. Okay. Five signs you're headed towards a breakup. You stop relationship building behaviors, which is like when you're leaving, you stop kissing each other goodbye or you stop texting each other throughout the day. Wait, wait, wait. Okay, so I want to understand this. Okay. So you're saying that if you're with somebody right now, now are we talking about boyfriend, girlfriend, or are we talking about even husband and wife? It says, I think boyfriend, girlfriend, because you're headed towards a breakup. If you're a husband and wife, that would be divorce, and it's a lot more serious. Breakup meaning like you've been together, probably like,
Six months to a year or so. And so if you used to text all the time, then suddenly it stops. I don't think that's a good example, but I think a good example is the little things like kissing goodbye. You know, like you probably kiss Rebecca goodbye every day. You don't? No, because I leave it really early, but... I do. I do. I leave early. You guys do? I do, yeah. I'll be honest with you. I'll be really honest with you. This is so, like... I'll be, this is as transparent as it gets. I have a mental issue with it. Don't tell me it's morning breath. No. Okay. It's not. It's like deep. What is wrong? I have a hard time getting into habits that if anything ever changed would devastate me. Like talking to my dad too much. Like if I talk to my dad too much, it almost freaks me out because I'm like, if my dad dies, this will kill me. I hear that. Yeah, but you can't think like that. You're always 10 steps ahead of yourself. You have to just live in the moment. You're an overthinker. I'm an overthinker. And actually, that's old thinking that I used to have that I've just gotten into the habit. But just think, if anything ever did happen to someone, you would be glad that you talked to them as much as you could.
You know what I mean? Yeah. Or will you just be completely devastated? You'd be devastated anyway. Well, you'd be devastated anyway, but you'd be like, why didn't I call my dad when I wanted to tell him that story and I was scared to just call him? In the Living Years. Don't you know that song? Yeah, Mike and the Mechanics. Great song. It's a great song. The Living Years? Is it called Living Years or In the Living Years? I don't know. Don't pretend. Don't let him be shaming you. No, I know what it is, but it's either called In the Living Years or just Living Years. There's something about my father. Now he's saying we have to go. How about Cats in the Cradle by Cat Stevens? That's great, dude. Okay? Why don't you pick something in the last 10 to 15 decades? All right? I want to hear more of these. I can do them really fast. A couple more is just you start fighting more and more. You stop understanding each other. You don't reach an agreement at the end of an argument. You start punishing each other. Like, well, he hasn't done this for me, so why should I do that for him? That's bad. I got a whole rap on that. Yeah, stuff like that. Even if you start fighting less, like you're just so tired of fighting that you don't care anymore. And those are the main ones right there. There it is. All right. Try to avoid those signs. 570-1949 is our phone number at the beginning and end of every show. We do open phones. You can call in about anything you want to. Mikey show. Hey, what's going on, man? What up, dude? You know, my buddies are leaving on tour tomorrow with Slightly Stupid. Okay. February 19th to 13th, and I just wanted to try to plug their name if I could, let people know. They're a local band. Sure. Huge. I love Slightly Stupid. What's that? Yes. I love them. Yeah, their name's a blaze. They're from San Diego. My buddy and his brother, they're like just acoustic players. Nice. Right on. They're pretty good. They play all over OB and everywhere in San Diego now. Cool, bro. Killer, man. Thank you, dude. The very lovely, the very talented Hillary is coming up next. Calm down, Woods. Shut it.
