Welcome to the day that we officially call the day after the Super Bowl. That's what we call it. Black Monday. Sports-wise, right? Aren't we now in the... It's just a barren... February is a very lean month for sports. You can report on Manchester United playing the Barclay, you know, whoever's... Yeah, absolutely. See how Cameroon's doing. That should be awesome. Should be incredible. I can't wait to try to find audio. I'm Mikey. That's Woodsy. That's L-O-B. That's Jay. And our phone screener is Nicole. And it's Monday. We're ready to rock. We're on at 530 now. We're on from 530 to 9. And you can catch us. It's pretty fun. If you're on your way to work or whatever, we come on early now. Get you revved up. Get you started. And ready for your work day.
There are so many angles with the Super Bowl. If you are just waking up, the Patriots have still lost. Yeah, they still didn't win. Yeah, they still have not won the game. And it's good, as Woodsy said, because he doesn't have to hear from the mass holes. Mass holes. Mass holes, silence. Yes. Massachusetts people that are into both the Patriots and the Sox, and they do make a lot of noise. They gloat. They're big-time gloaters. And the fact that we don't have to hear that is pretty good news. Yeah, New Yorkers do their fair share of gloating. Trust me. All right. When you got the hardware, you can. Well, looks like they got some hardware last night. They added a little piece to the collection. That's right. Which made me very happy. So we'll talk about the game and all that stuff. Oh, man, what a game. But let's talk about, you know, because I was trying to figure out, well, how do we pace this? All right.
What do we talk about right out of the gate? One of the big things are always the commercials. Yep. It's always a big deal. And this is the Hyundai Gonna Fly Now commercial. This sure is a crazy way to draw attention to .co domain names from GoDaddy. Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait. Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry. Please forgive. Don't everybody freak out. Okay, here's Hyundai. This is impossible. It's never going to work. So everyone in the factory and everybody out in the world starts to sing this. I don't even get it. I don't get it. They're inspiring him by using the Rockies. Why? Because his day? He said, this is impossible. It's not going to work. Oh, boy. So now he hears that. And he's all the way in, and he's ready to work, and he's going to make it happen. Later on, we're going to be talking to a guy, I believe, from Havid. Wherever he's from. It's a good school. Very smart guy. And what he specializes in, what he's a professor of, is advertising. So he can tell you, well, which of these companies, well, this is what I want to know. You got all these companies that threw money around. And I'm talking, guh.
millions of dollars for just 30 seconds. Hyundai, Audi, Pepsi, M&M's, Chevy, GoDaddy. These are just some of the companies, right? I want to know. Okay, well, based on what they did, which ones of them scored really good and will actually buy their junk now? Yeah. Because we saw it. I didn't get that Hyundai commercial. Woodsy explained it to me. Now I get it. And that was one of the 60 seconds, man. Yeah, that was a long one. That cost... A ton of dough. Like three and a half mil, I think. Yeah. Something like that. One that was easier for me to understand was the GoDaddy commercial because they were just painting a girl's body with paint. This sure is a crazy way to draw attention to .co domain names from GoDaddy. Who won't notice a hot model in body paint? True. She stands out like a hot new .co. They definitely get you noticed. That's why smart businesses go with .co's from GoDaddy. Done. Wow. Jillian Michaels, Danica Patrick. Both smoking hot. Yeah. See a lot more now. And the chick they were painting on, she didn't say a word. No. She stood there. She had a red eye. Yeah. She had a red eye. She had a hairy stomach. She had a light hairy stomach. Yeah, but it was hairy nonetheless. Yeah, but I wouldn't say like, you know, I wouldn't say like. Like Jay, but. I wouldn't say like Erica Strada, hairy. No, of course not. She looked like John Travolta. It was the HD. Yeah.
Yeah, it was just little, I felt little fine hairs. I didn't think it was John Travolta type hair. Still in on it, but it was a little hairy. Yeah. You prefer, do you prefer something else? Do you prefer a... For hairless. Just complete, you can't see one little tiny, even the little fine hairs, you prefer not to see it. I prefer not to see it. I'm okay, but I'd prefer not to. Even... You don't want to see little whispers of angels' breath. You'd rather see a field that is slippery. Yes. Wow. An ice rink. Yes. But you did not get that from the GoDaddy chick. I did not. Any favorites? Dude, Clint Eastwood. Clint Eastwood was good. Was my favorite. And I'm watching and I almost teared up. It was so good. Clint Eastwood did a commercial for the American Auto Manufacturers. And the only criticism that I have, and I do have one small criticism, boy, his voice is worn, man. It doesn't, I mean, it's real, it sounds as if he's struggling to speak. And I do, I mean it. It sounds like he's struggling to speak. However, what a great idea. I think it was for Dodge, wasn't it? It was for all the auto manufacturers. Yeah, because they had all the names underneath the.
They had all of these. Pretty killer, man. It was for American-made cars. I think what they did is pull their money together. Pull their money together. And go, let's do one American car company commercial. Have Clint voice it. And I did think it was pretty awesome. It was pretty awesome. Officially listed as Chrysler, but it was all of the guys. It's halftime. Teams are in their locker room discussing what they can do to win this game in the second half. It's halftime in America too. People are out of work and they're hurting. They're all wondering what they're going to do to make a comeback. And we're all scared because this isn't a game. The people of Detroit know a little something about this. They almost lost everything. But we all pulled together. Now Motor City is fighting again. I've seen a lot of tough heroes.
A lot of downturns in my life, times when we didn't understand each other. It seems that we've lost our heart at times. The fog of division, discord, and blame made it hard to see what lies ahead. But after those trials, we all rallied around what was right and acted as one. I wish that we could get all those Occupy jerkheads to sail out into the middle of the ocean, have an anchor tighter on them. If you want to do something for your country, why don't you do something? Start by taking a shower. Bunch of pinko commie worthless jerk faces. Clint, that's a little over the top. Yeah, well, you know what? It's also true. That's fair enough. That's fair enough. Just stick to the script. Right. You just read what's on the paper. Is it all right if I... We only have 30 seconds. There's no vamping. Please don't vamp.
Is it okay if I just ad-lib a little there? No, it's not. This is carefully written by a team of people over weeks and weeks of time. One question. Is the word queer? No. I can't. No. Unless you're talking about queer eye for the straight guy, that's the only time you say it, which you wouldn't say it in this commercial. One more question. Okay. Can I talk about Mexicans? In what regard? I'm married to one. Yeah, that's true. I'm married to one. Her name's Dina. She's foxy. I don't know why you would. This is for American cars. Well, here was what I was going to say. There used to be racism in this country against Mexicans. Right. But now I'm married to one. Is that too much? That doesn't necessarily mean that racism against Mexicans has been alleviated. Just ask Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
Now you're going off course. I'm spitballing you. There are no bad ideas. I say just stick to the script. Everyone just stick to the script. You included, Joe. Fair enough. What if I talked about women voting? They've been able to vote for a long time. It's been a long, long time. I was going to say, wouldn't it be wonderful if we lived in a country where women could vote? Oh, no, they already do. We do. We do. It's great. You vote? Yep, Mr. Eastwood, please. We've got to get this on the air. Time is money, pal. We've got to get this on the air. She, that girl. Yeah, she can vote. Hot piece of tail. She is, she is. I can hear you. What's wrong with that, Tootsie? You can't do that these days. Nobody really says Tootsie. Sexual harassment. Mr. Eastwood, if you can't do this, we'll get Morgan Freeman. Yes, totally. Just keep going. Morgan Freeman can't do this commercial. He's colored. Oh, wow. Mr. Eastwood, Mr. Eastwood. All right, fine. I'll get back to it. Somebody get Morgan. Because that's what we do. We find a way through tough times, and if we can't find a way, then we'll make one. Don't you try to tell me that Morgan Freeman can do this commercial. I have him on speed dial. You can own a phone? All that matters now is what's ahead.
How do we come from behind? How do we come together? I have a question for the page here. The page. She's not a page. She's an advertising executive. Candy Striper. I'm actually his boss and technically yours for this project. Sorry about that. Well, we're co-manager. Well, not really. Could I tell a story about how I beat up a couple of punks that were occupied? No. On your own time. Yeah. Or maybe when we take a break. Just to amuse myself. No, you can't. Clint. When I did it, I looked at him. I said, you're lucky you even get to be here. I think there's a couple of people in craft services that would love to hear that story. But please, for the love of God. Time is money. Are you going to let her talk to me that way? Yeah, she's very good. Why don't you...
Do something. Manage her, for crying out loud. She's not my boss. I did manage her one time, but that was after a few cocktails, if you know what I mean. She said she's your boss. I am. Manage her real good. Detroit's showing us it can be done. And what's true about them is true about all of us. If we showed one thing in the Second World War, it's that we can beat the crap out of Germans and Japs. So offensive. What is that? He can't see Japs. Germans is fine. They're actual Germans. I told you we should have gotten more confused. You're probably right. If we can do that, we can come back in the street. We could have gotten Kevin James, and it would have been better than this. Yeah, that's true. This country can't be knocked out with one punch. We get right back up again, and when we do, the world's going to hear the roar of our engines. We're not like Julio Cesar Chavez screaming out in the mosque. No, he's not even making any sense. Remember when he fight?
I meant Roberto Duran. Every one line from the script, there's 30 lines of commentary. One line equals 30 lines of commentary. We don't give up. Can we take what? Just let him go, and then we just edit together the best pieces. Several thousand. Well, we'll do several thousand edits for the audio, too. Well, I wanted to have one rolling shot. Let me do one take that you can put in the can. If you like it, good. If you don't, forget it. I like this line, though. I thought it up on the way here. We don't give up. We're not like Roberto Duran who screamed no mas. That's a reference from like 30 years ago in a boxing fight. 20 years ago. That Mexican was a quitter. But we're not. No mas. All right, Mr. Easton, we're going to wrap it up for today. Hey, you did it. You did a great job. Are we done? Yeah, exactly. Done? Is that it? And our second half's about to begin. Meet a lozenge. I like that one a lot. That was effective. Yeah. I like the Wego, too. That was really good. The Bud Light Wego, the little dog that ran and fetched the beard. That was very, very cute. I like the dog that worked out. The dog that worked out was great, too. I felt a little bit like myself. Like, boy, I need to get on that treadmill that dog's on. Mm-hmm. Deadfield. Thank you, buddy. What? You got a dog?
Yeah, he's a rescue dog. Name's Wego. Wego. What kind of name is that? Call him. Here we go. Yep. Here we go. Here we go. At the end, too, there's a nice little promo for a little plug for rescuing dogs. That's cool. That's sweet. A lot of dogs in the Super Bowl commercials. Dogs were a big player. Big player. Because they know that... They know that if you don't like it, you're a monster. You know what I mean? If you're watching, that's lame. Well, it's one of those deals where everybody loves it. Everybody loves dogs, kids. They love that stuff. Except the dog walking backwards in sneakers. You didn't like that. I liked it. No. I thought it was cute. It was really lame. Did you know that LMFAO did a free show on the streets and a bunch of people stampeded?
50,000 people were there. They stampeded. So 22 people got arrested for, get this, this is going to shock you, public intoxication. That's weird. At a concert? Weird. But they were there to see the music. Yeah. They're selling booze. Where was the show? Was it at the Super Bowl? In the streets. Of Indianapolis? Yes. Oh, my gosh. Free concert over the weekend. In the streets, 50,000 people are out there and they went, hey, you know what we should do is sell some booze and make some money. Yeah, we need to. The reason that we should do is because nobody will get out of hand. Right. Everyone will mind their manners and we'll start dancing and stuff because we'll have LMFAO up there. I think it's a fact that you have to be intoxicated to listen to LMFAO. Yeah. That may be a true fact. They probably thought people were just going to get like one glass of red wine to keep warm. Right. That's probably what they meant. Just a little nip. Just a little toddy. Yeah. And then people abused it, you know. USA Today did an ad meter. Find out which ads were the most popular. The number one was the Slingshot Doritos Baby commercial. That was cute. So cute. It was. You didn't like it? No.
You didn't think that was cute? Wow. It started out cute and then it did that weird thing where it's like unbelievable and it's all stretchy. Not a documentary. Yeah, but it's like stretchy graphics and it goes from like, you know, nice high def to like weird. It's a cute kid. The Wego dog was number two. Yeah, Wego was, he's an instant overnight success. The dog that bribed his owner with the Doritos, not to tell about the disappearing cat. That was funny. That was good too. Third. So Doritos did good. Eminem Red, Eminem's Who Stripe, Who Strips and Dances. I like that one. That one was number four. Missed it. And the fifth most popular ad was the Skechers French Bulldog, Mr. Quigley, Who Runs Greyhound Races. Cute. That was the one that went backwards over the finish line. That was it? Didn't see that one. What'd you get to sing at Ferris Bueller? Yeah, I was out on it. Yeah. Old Ferris Bueller. First of all, first of all, Matthew Broderick sing.
Hey, this is Matthew Broderick. Can you bring my CRV up for me? It's not that cool. Not believable. Really? No. It's just not that cool. Really? And it's not believable. It's not believable. Yeah, Sarah Jessica Parker would like to ride around in a CRV with you. Come on, man. She has to ride in a horse trailer, so. Oh, man. One note joke. That is Jay's first speaking of the day. That's where he'll get you. Making a horse joke about him. Oh, she'll stride her off. Uh-oh, uh-oh. Jay's a little punchy today, everyone. He is. He's sick. He's not feeling well. We shouldn't attack. Just a little cold action going on in here. You got a cold? I do. Uh-oh. That's weird because he takes such good care of his body. Hey, everybody can get sick. Anybody. If Jay can get sick, anybody can get sick. That's true. I also been like 25 miles this weekend on my bike. You did what? Been a lot of miles. Trying to get ready. I'm going to do this big race in Arizona. Are you really? 50 mile race, yeah. Oh, my gosh. Guy's incredible. Trying to get fit.
Don't make that hand motion, Woods, that mimics masturbation. Don't do that. Because I think that that is really an accomplishment to be able to go 50 miles. That's unsolicited information. Yeah, exactly. I'm kind of worn out. Who asked him? I'm kind of worn out. That's what I'm... What were you doing? You were prepping? Prepping, getting ready. Trying to throw down. First big 50-mile marathon. What do they call the event? It's a Whiskey 50. Are you drinking whiskey? No, no, no, no. Maybe. No. My goodness. How long do you have to do that? I'm allotting like six to eight hours. I would allot six to eight years. If I needed to ride 50 miles. I'd give myself six to eight years. Easy. I believe in eight years I could get that job done. No problem. I don't know. It's like a pedal a day. Yeah. I believe by the end of eight years, 50 miles would be accomplished easily. In fact, I believe by the seventh year, I damn near finished my accomplishment. Almost. I don't think I'd need the whole eight. So take that. I believe it. Chronicle was the number one movie over the weekend. 22 mil.
No idea what Chronicle is. I was just going to ask you what the hell is it. I think I know what it is. I think Chronicle is, I do know. It's the movie where the kids have these powers and one of the kids goes rogue and crazy. They have these powers that they film the movie to look like it's very real. And they YouTube themselves being able to do really interesting things with their mind. Move cars, crush cars. Well, one of the kids starts to become a little bit weird and do weird stuff with his little power. Oh, that's cool. And the other kids are like, what are you doing, dude? You just killed that guy. Because there's a guy behind him honking his horn. And he makes him run off the road and go into a creek. And his buddies are like, what are you doing? Well, he goes nuts. Nobody can stop him. So it looks pretty good. $22 million. The Woman in Black. It's a bona fide success. $13 million to make it. It's already made $21 million. And what makes it an even bigger success is no one knows what it is. No one's ever heard of it. It's a gothic film called Woman in Black. Almost made it to number one. And then The Grey, the movie about the dude that beats up.
Wolves is cool. That one made $9 million. Starts Liam Neeson beating up wolves. Yeah. With his bare hands. Man, awesome. Taking them on, calling them names. Berating them. Yeah, he starts berating them, and they're like, oh, really? I'm a wolf. Can you talk some smack? I'm a wolf. I rip your throat out. And he says, if you're a wolf, do something about it. So the wolf comes up, tries to kick his ass, can't do it because he's got, Liam Neeson has a secret weapon. He's got knives tied around his hands. He beats up on wolves. Get you every time. Yeah. So it sounds good to me. I'd see it. Those are the top movies that were out this weekend. If you want to talk about your weekend or if you want to talk about Super Bowl ads, performances, the flip off, say goodbye to anything cool in a halftime show. Yeah. Say goodbye to it. Everybody out there just doing their own thing.
M.I.A. just flipping out, losing her mind. That's it. I need attention. I guess being on the stage at the Super Bowl, it's not enough attention for you, M.I.A. You have to throw the bird to millions of Americans. Say the S word. Almost say the S word. Kind of say the S word. Make it pretty obvious that you're saying the S word. What a jerkwad. Dope. for the next eight Super Bowls, we're going to be watching Up With People. CCR. Yeah. Yeah. Creedence Clearwater Revival. Yes. Yeah. She wasn't even supposed to be there. Mm-hmm. Ruined it. Cindy Lauper next year. Cindy Lauper next year. Oh, no. You can't trust her either. You can't? She's a wild child. That girl's crazy. She's wild. Great. Great. I didn't like all the... I wanted to see Madonna. I didn't want to see Madonna, but I wanted to see... I didn't want to see freaking Fatsy Lo Green up there being a pud.
Well, you got him. I got him real good. I thought he was good. That guy's a turd. Didn't bother me. Yeah, I wasn't bothered by any of it except the dopey flip-off. Nicki Minaj. Come on, man. I don't understand. Why is Nicki Minaj, is she a good singer? No. She's pretty good. She actually does a song with Madonna. Why is LMFAO, why are they, Woods wants to shoot himself with the LMA? I don't get it. I don't get it. I know I'm old. They got his. I don't get it, but I'm old. Kids like them. Kids. I like it. This is a kid talking. I like it. They have oversized glasses and afros. Yeah. Cool. Original. Hip. What do we know, right? What do I know? I'm an old codger now. Old dude. Their video has like over 200 million views. Insanity. Sexy and I know it. That's a sad state for our country. Yeah. Isn't it? Yeah, isn't it? It's one of Jay's favorite videos. Yeah, Jay loves it. What do you love, Jay? The video. Yeah, it's sexy and I know it. It just speaks to me. You like what it's saying. You like the message. You can relate. Here it is. Bunch of fit guys running around. Bunch of fit guys. Jay likes videos where he gets to see a lot of fit dudes just running around. Good people having fun. I hate fat people, man. God, I hate them. I don't hate them. I just wish they weren't in America. Well, I was here dead. Fat kid. So...

I don't know the difference between odd and even. Lauren. If there's a movie with Meg Ryan in it, I'm like, I'm out. I'm out. Woods. I got one word for you, dude. Gift. And J. I stole from the Rolling Stones dressing room. I got this little coffin thing. I stole it from there. On FM 94.9. Welcome to Monday. Woods called it Black Monday earlier, and I think he's right. This is the day where
If you're a sports fan, it is no man's land. Super Bowl's over. Not a lot going on. 570-1949 is our number. Any aspect of the Super Bowl you want to talk about, we can. From the food to the halftime entertainment to the commercials to all of it. You can give us a call and talk about it. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show. I'm 41. Woods is our sports guy. He's 36. L-O-B, otherwise known as Lauren O'Brien, is our assistant producer. She's 31. Jay's 48. He's our producer. And our phone screener is Nicole. She's 19. Woods, or not Woods, Jay is sick today. Yep. He has a cold. My wife is sick as well. Hmm. How did that happen? Don't know.
But I think it is a coincidence, eh? Let's see. Word of the day is strawberry. When I say strawberry between now and nine, caller number nine, I'm going to give you a pair of flights to Mammoth Mountain. How about that? You can fly direct from San Diego in 70 minutes. And you can land closer to the lifts than any airport in the West. They got daily flights. They're starting at $89. How rad is that? Why have I not jumped on this yet? I think it's kind of new, right? I think they've been doing it for about a year now. It's pretty awesome if you didn't know about it. I didn't know. I mean, I don't like to ski, but I'd go there, stay at the lodge, just hang out. It's an amazing lodge. They have internet there, so yeah, you're safe. I'd be good to go. I'd be good to go. Anyway, if that sounds good to you. Listen for the word strawberry between now and nine. And caller number nine, we will hook you up. House of Blues, February 17th, live broadcast. Met some people over the weekend that are M1s. Meet M1s in the craziest place. I was at the shooting range, met an M1. He said, hey, I took the day off to go to L.O.B.'s deal. That's what I like to hear, pal.
He and his girlfriend took the day off to be at our live broadcast, 5.30 in the morning to 9 on Friday, February 17th. Lauren O'Brien wants to live out a dream of dancing like a pussycat doll, and she's gonna with 10 Foxy M1s. If you want to see them, go to MikeyShow.com. You can see a picture of her entire dance troupe. She's got a whole dance troupe, and there's 11 of them total. 11 girls with LOB. And they're going to be up there. And I think they all kind of have the same dream that you do. They want to do this. They want to live this out. Shake their money makers. And they're going to. Some of them have danced before. And let me tell you, they got the moves. Woodsy, talk to me about the game. For those that did not see it and don't know the outcome, what happened? Who's that guy, by the way? I don't know, but he's out there.
Well, you know what, man? They started the NFL season this year by interviewing Eli Manning. And they asked him, Eli, are you an elite quarterback? Do you consider yourself in the category with guys like Tom Brady? And Eli said, yeah, I do. And we all laughed. I laughed. I laughed. Guy had a ring, but so did Trent Dilfer. And I was like, come on, man. Come on. Guy's an elite quarterback. And you know what? He's played Tom Brady four times. He's beaten him three times, including in two Super Bowls. Sorry. Numbers don't lie. Numbers don't lie. The guy played his butt off last night, 30 of 40. 30 of 40. Yeah. I mean, the guy is, he's unflappable. He doesn't look like a quarterback. He doesn't move like a quarterback. No. But the guy plays like a freaking quarterback. He looks. Like a sales guy at Best Buy. Yeah. He looks like he screens phones at Geico. Yep. That guy can put you on a water job. Yeah. Yeah. He looks like he works down at Kawasaki. You walk in off the street. Eli Manning is standing there with a golf shirt on that says Eli on a tag. And he says to you, oh, you'd like to look at water supply equipment? And you go, actually, I'm looking for a Sea-Doo.
We have some wonderful options for you. Absolutely. Is it for you or for your entire family? It's absolutely. That's what Eli Manning looks like. I don't even see him being that outgoing. He couldn't handle that job. He would be behind a desk at a rental car company. And all he has to do is say, would you like to sign up for our insurance or do you have your own insurance? Okay. Welcome to Kawhi. This is going to be, you just have to make sure when you're turning the car, it has at least a tank of gas in it. That's right. I mean, he just, he doesn't look the part. He doesn't walk the part. He doesn't, but you know what he does? He throws the part and he plays the part. And he's got two Super Bowl rings. He's got two rings and my friend, two Super Bowl MVPs. He was the MVP last night. He's got two Super Bowl MVPs. Yes, he stood there in that pocket, and he delivered the ball when he needed to and made plays to help his team win the game. The Giants did win 21-17. They were going to fire Tom Coughlin earlier in the season. They lost five of six at one point, and when they lost to the Redskins, who were a terrible team this year, they said, he's got to go. He's got to go. They then won six games in a row, including the Super Bowl. He beat.
He beat Mark Sanchez, Tony Romo, Matt Ryan, Aaron Rodgers, Alex Smith, and Tom Brady to hoist that trophy last night. My goodness. And not only that, Woods said it best yesterday. He goes, he can basically walk up to Peyton Manning. Yeah, his brother. His brother, Peyton Manning, who is the Peyton Manning. Yeah. Older brother. And say, yeah, so you have one, right? You still have the one. The one Super Bowl when you beat the Bears? Right. You still have that one. That's cool. I have two. Yeah, I got two now. Hey, remember that year that you didn't play? Yeah. Do you remember that time that I went to that stadium where you're supposed to be playing, but you didn't because your neck hurt? Remember when I was only manning on the field that year? On your field. And do you remember when I beat Tom Brady and the Patriots again to win my second Super Bowl? Do you remember that? And I got MVP. I got another MVP. Hey. If you ever lose your Super Bowl ring, I got an extra one. I got an extra one, and I'll let you wear it. It says Giants on it, but nobody's going to know unless they look really close. Yeah, they'll be like, hey, is that your Super Bowl ring? It came down to the wire, man, and it's what, you know, I'm reading on Facebook last night. People were like, this game was boring and lame. I'm like, really? What are you talking about? I'm like, are you out of your mind? I'm like, you've got three minutes left, and the Giants need to score.
Peyton does his thing, throws to Mario Manningham. Eli. I'm sorry. Eli does his thing. He throws to Mario Manningham, who makes a spectacular catch. Unbelievable catch from the 12 to the 38. It was unreal. And then Ahmad Bradshaw runs the football in. The Patriots basically are going to let him score so they can get Tom Brady a little time. Bradshaw pauses and then falls into the end zone. So they score. So Tom Brady gets the ball back. With 57 seconds left, and here's how the game ended. Brady, barring a defensive foul, the game ends here to the end zone. Hernandez there. And the New York H by many in December are the Super Bowl champs in September. Wow. They play. So hard for that coach, Tom Coughlin. After the game, they brought Coughlin up on the stage, and Dan Patrick was talking to him. This is Tom Coughlin and Dan Patrick. Two Super Bowls for you. That matches your mentor, Bill Parcells. How does that feel? Well, I'm not about comparisons or anything of that nature. I'm very thankful and very grateful for the opportunity that I've had as the head coach of the New York Giants, the wonderful players I've had to work with, the coaches that have surrounded us, and the support from ownership. That's what this is all about.
That is an amazing thing for a couple of reasons. Whatever you do for a living, I don't care what you do for a living, how lowly you think the job is. Let's say that you work in the fast food industry and you've been working in the fast food industry for 20 straight years. Maybe in the fast food industry, they have a deal where once a year, they hand out the greatest employee in the fast food industry. It doesn't matter what you do. To get to hoist that freaking trophy means that on that day, you're the best of the best. And that is a hell of a night's sleep. That is a hell of a night's sleep. It doesn't matter who you are. You go to bed that night. And if you're a dude, you are going, these balls belong to a guy.
That is one of the, that's a world champion. Yeah, man. That's that. And it's, I mean, what are you going to do? That's that. You're a world champion. You gotta, you gotta really, you gotta tip your hat. I don't give a crap. I don't like Eli. I don't like Eli because of how he dissed San Diego, but I still look at that and go, hey, world champ. Yeah, man, I call it, you know, I call the guy Captain Dumbface because he always has Dumbface on. His mouth never closes. He's got two pieces of dumb face hardware that we don't have. Oh, man, right? He played so well. This was a very poignant and sad moment. They showed Robert Kraft, who's the owner of the Patriots, and he lost his wife this year, Myra Kraft. That was so sad. And at the last, they showed his reaction to the Hail Mary. And at the end, he's surrounded by people. And everyone kind of peels off, and he's standing there by himself. And it's just silent. And he kind of looks up. And I'm watching this. And my wife, of course, lit up in tears. And he just was standing there by himself. And then he just put his head down. And it was so sad to see that. My sister was screaming out, someone give that man a hug. I know. Everybody went in their own little directions. And he was just. It is sad. And, you know, you always feel for the guys that almost got it. You know, like Tom Brady after the game.
was a wreck. He was an absolute wreck. Say what you want about that guy. He's a gritty competitor. And of course, after the game, the last thing you want to do is talk to reporters, but he had to. They made a few more plays than we did. They've done a good job of that all season. And like I said, I wish, you know, we all wish we could have done a little bit more. But, you know, our team fought really hard. Our defense, you know, really held. certain points today. They knocked some balls out. I wish we'd have got one of those, but the ball really didn't bounce our way either. They played a good game. They made some costly mistakes, the Patriots. Tom Brady taking a safety on the first play from offense when they got the ball, throwing a grounding from the end zone as a safety. That was horrible. They had 12 men on the field one time when they recovered a fumble. It was very un-Patriots-like. Wes Welker had a huge... Huge drop that could have sealed the game for him. Huge drop that he catches. They said he makes that catch 100 out of 100 times. Let me ask you a question as a guy. As you're driving this morning, as you're working, whatever, let's have you for a moment put yourself in Tom Brady's shoes. So right now you are Tom Brady, but I want you to rewind the clock to last night just after the game ends.
And this is what I want you to ask yourself. Do you want your wife to comfort you or to give you space and not say a word to you? Now, every guy is wired different. Every man is wired different. Woods. Comfort. Jay. Leave me alone. Me? Leave me alone. I don't want to hear. Please, let's talk tomorrow. But today and after this, don't. Please. Now, I'm interested in Woods because he was the only guy that said that he likes to comfort. Do you want her to reach out or do you want to reach out first? Or how would it work if you were Tom Brady and lost the Super Bowl? I want her to come to me. Yes. With her arms out. Yes. With tears in her eyes. Yes. And just give me a hug and bury my face in those giant breasts of hers. Yes. That does sound good.
Everybody is different. So every guy, as I asked you that, had a different response to it. Me, I want an empty phone. I don't want my phone to say that one thing has happened to it. I don't want any. I want to check my inbox. There's nothing there. No voicemails. No text messages. Nothing has come through. That is what I want. I want, you know what might make me feel better? My kid needing something from me normal. If my son said, Daddy, where's my blah, blah? That would give me a sense of normalcy. Where's my da, da, da? That would give me a sense of normalcy. But aside from that, what I do not want in any way, shape or form is, I'm sorry. I would venture to say that you should stop being friends with anyone who has texted or called.
Yes. I left any messages. Just leave you be. I would give my cell phone to my wife. And I would say, this is what you can do for me. Because I know you want to comfort me. Anybody that texted, I want you to text them back. And I want you to ask them to never do that again. If I ever find myself in said position again. Right. Please don't. No, I want the message there. Yeah, you do. Yeah, I do. She could be there for sure. But just let's not talk about the game. Let's not talk. Anything else. When I was on the show Wipeout with my friend Jay Isbell, and I had a bad experience that last night. Broke your ankle. Broke my ankle, was jacked up, was vomiting. Yeah. Sleeping. When I got home, when I got home, my wife was there. He was sleeping because he had a concussion. Right. It knocked him out. Yeah. When I got home, my wife was there with open arms. Yes. Took me in. Comforted me. I was very upset. Yes. I was very upset. I was a wreck. And she comforted me. And I'll never. Look at how fat you are. That's awesome. Look at how fat you are. And twice. Ouch. I'll never forget my wife's love that night. I will say. That was true love. I will say this. My wife is good at diversionary love. And what I mean is this. She'll go, hungry?
She doesn't approach. Hey, seriously. And I like that. I like that. Don't go right for what is hurting. And I genuinely like it. I like, you need anything? You need anything? You hungry? Like, not saying, hey, I'm sorry for you. Hey, not saying. She knows to just go, hey, look, you need something. I got it. That's what I like. I like the nurse that is able to provide whatever it is that's ailing you. But what I will not do is I know you don't want the pacification right now. Don't pacify. My wife likes to explain it away. And I'm like, just please. Don't do that. Or if it's me against somebody else, she likes to take their side and kind of like help me through it. I'm like, no, stop. Nope. Wow. Yes. Explaining it away makes it worse because it's like, listen, Tom Brady is in his head. He's going, I didn't do what I needed to do. If I had, we would have won. Please don't tell me how it wasn't my fault. Right. Because all I want right now is to believe that it was my fault. That's who I am. That's how I'm wired to be. 5701949. M1, Harold from San Marcos, what do you like? I want the sympathy.
You want the comfort? Oh, yeah. I'll milk it, too, man. Really? Oh, heck yeah, dude. You don't want the solitude? No. Come on. I don't want it. I don't want sympathy from everyone else. So the text messages, all that stuff, that could go away. But from mama, I'll take it. Yeah. Need it from mama. I don't. I don't. I do not. And I'll milk it, too. Real good. Oh, man. For weeks. I believe that. For weeks. I do want it when I'm sick, but I don't want it when I'm a failure. When I'm a failure, I don't want it. Different. Two different things in my mind. If I'm sick, I want babying. If I'm a failure, I'm angry at myself. Only thing I need is... You need anything? Soda? Soda? Glass? Anything? Burrito? Scotch would be great, but I can't. Hey, thanks for the call. 5-7-0-1-94-9. On the other end of the spectrum, though, those Giants were celebrating last night. Oh, yeah. Had a lot to celebrate. Oh, yeah. It's a major accomplishment for those guys. Heck, yeah. Before the game, before the game even began, Matt Lauer asked President Obama what the Obama chicks in the house.
Think of Tom Brady. What about the ladies in the Obama household? Do they feel about Tom Brady the same way ladies all around the country feel about this guy? I think they know he's a good-looking guy. There's no doubt about it. Is there perhaps a poster of Tom Brady somewhere in the East Wing? No, you know, they haven't. The girl's 13, 10. They're not quite at the age yet where they start to... putting up the pictures of guys. Don't fool yourself there, Mr. Obama. Your daughters are drooling over Tom Brady. Once you get that visual in your head, sir. When that happens, I may call some executive privilege and say that that's not appropriate. My wife and Woods' wife having to watch that freaking commercial last night of... Oh, I know which one. Oh, yeah. Beckham? Oh, yeah. Yeah. What's up with that guy being all perfect? You can bend it like Beckham. Except his face. Oh, wow. Except his face? His face doesn't do it for me. I'd trade. Yeah, I'd trade today. I'd trade right now. And that body. Wow. Holy cow with the dude's body. Get out of here, Beckham. Body good face. What? Beat it. Beat it like Beckham. Yeah, beat it like Beckham. How about that? Beat it like Beckham.
I don't think he has to. My wife stopped in front of the television. Stopped. Yes, she did. Like a freaking movie screen. Like, hey, you're going to hurt your eyes, all right? Keep moving. Hey, keep moving over there. I'm trying to watch here. Get out of here with that guy. I read a story about him this weekend that he got tossed from his kid's soccer game. He got a red card from an official. Really? His kid's seven years old, and he's yelling at the ref. And the ref's like, look, pal, I don't care who you are. Get out. You get to go stand outside the gate. Gosh, Don. So even Beckham is a psychopath when it comes to kids' sports. Do you think his kid's going to be any good at soccer? He's going to be good looking? Probably not. It'd probably be the opposite. No. Jake's probably right. Dude. I don't think so, dude. Michael Jordan's kids, one of them plays, two of them play basketball. One of them just quit. Quit college basketball. Here's the deal. Michael Jordan. Here's what I do know. If L.O.B. makes love to a dude that has any semblance. of athletic ability, it will be a super child. Because she was good at track. She wasn't just good at track. She wasn't just good at track. She was freaking good at track. But she wasn't an Olympian. You know what I'm saying? It's hard to match those. She wasn't an Olympian. She wasn't an Olympian. But she was really good. Now, if Posh Spice wasn't really athletic, then you're right. He could, you know, the kid could get, and even if, I guess, even if she was.
There's some off chance the kid won't be athletic. You think my kids can't eat the hell out of burritos? They're going to be able to, okay? Nachos, burritos, tacos. Just a true fact. Chimichanga. Churros. Paella. So this morning, the UT, whether you agree or not, they did their good, the bad, and the ugly in terms of what those commercials were. They said what sucked, what was good, what was great. We'll tell you what they said, and you tell us if you agree. And we're also going to play. We're going to play. What game are we playing on now on Mondays? Buzzwords. Oh, boy. Let's play some buzzwords. 570-1949. Pick me, Woods, or LOB. Be a part of the Mikey Show now. Text them at 949mikey at gmail.com. Or call Mikey now. 570. More of the Mikey Show coming up in minutes on FM 94.9.

You listen on the radio to us, and you listen for long periods of time. That's what makes you an M1, and we love you if you do it. Turn others on to The Mikey Show. You turn your brothers, your sisters, your husbands, your kids. You turn everybody on to the Mikey Show. If they listen to another show, you say, no, no, no. Listen to the Mikey Show. You're always making recruits of M1 Nation. Part of the day is strawberry. Haven't said it yet, but when I do, I will give you a pair of flights to Mammoth Mountain. Wow. You can fly to Mammoth Mountain in 70 minutes and land closer to the lifts than any airport in the West. Daily flights starting at 89 bucks, and that's what we're giving away today. That is kick. That is kick-ass. Awesome.
We are going to be playing Buzzword in just a second. We just need to select who do you want to represent you in Buzzword? M1 Mix from Al Cajon. Who do you want? I'm going to take my girl Ellen Bruce. There you go. Hang on the line. M1 Anthony from Carlsbad. Who do you want? M1 Hawk's son. Hawk's son. Who do you want? That's me. Hawk's son. Oh, Hawk's son. That's Woods. That's Woods. Hang on a minute. I have a lot of nicknames. And M1 Rick from Escondido. Who do you want? You got me. Don't worry about it. I'll choose for you. Whether you agree with it or whether you don't, this is what the UT says today. Terms of the Super Bowl and commercials. They say the good was the Honda commercial with Ferris Bueller. Woods, you were kind of out on it. I liked it. I agree with Woods. And when Woods says, well, do I really believe that... Ferris Bueller is driving a CRV. No. No. I don't believe it either. The Doritos, both of them were pretty good. The kid swiping the chips was good. What about the Acura commercial with Jerry Seinfeld? Did you like that one? That fell into the dirt. I would love to have the first one. I'm so sorry, Mr. Seinfeld, but you're number two on the list. Who's number one? That guy. Okay. So you're number one. How'd you like to be number 20? No.
I'll throw in the Soup Nazi. Soup for you. Last living munchkin. I thought he passed away. Nice to see the Soup Nazi again, right? Yes. All right. The UT says the bad commercials were GoDaddy because we've seen it before. Right. There's really nothing different to it. They also thought the bad was the Bud Light Platinum commercial. You'd expect more. There really wasn't much to it. There was nothing funny. It was just a commercial. It's the Super Bowl. Come strong. Bring your A game. And then the ugly, in terms of the worst, they thought TaxAct.com. You spent more than $3 million to show a kid reliving himself in a pool or relieving himself in a pool. Oh, I love that one. I thought that was a good one. I thought that was great. I thought it was good, too. The kid couldn't pee. He had to go pee somewhere. Yeah, then he got his sister. When he peed in the pool, she jumped in. It was huge. I thought that was kind of cool. But they didn't like it. UT didn't like it. But what are you going to do? Feast. That's their opinion. Let's do this. Get a word. I got news for you. The Patriots still haven't won. Yeah, wow. Giants won the Super Bowl last night. MVP of the game, Eli Manning. And two Super Bowl rings to his hardware set. Wow. Pretty unbelievable. All right, let's play a little buzzword. Jay, what is the word?
Well, first I should tell you that we're playing for the first season of The Walking Dead on DVD. Oh, nice. The scariest show on TV is back with new episodes February 12th. It's a zombie show. It's good. Only on AMC. And the first season's phenomenal. It's a good one. Jay's wearing his spectacles. It's so creepy. It's so creepy. My eyes are doing crazy things today. The Bible. You are getting old, pal. Hey. That's true. All right. The word is... Yes? Jack. Jack! Okay. J-A-C-K. Okay. Jack. Jack be nimble. Jack be quick. Jack be nimble. Jack be quick. Jack be nimble. Jack be quick. Jack turns over to the candlestick. L-O-B. Oh, man. That S-O-B got me. I'm like, yes. All right. Auto robbery. Skyjacks. Hijack. Hijack. Hijack. Come on. Here we go. A DJ of yesteryear with a raspy. Wolfman Jack.
I would hope you'd get that one. Pancake. Flamberjack. Paul Bunyan was a big one. Lumberjack. Oh, wow. All right, here we go. Rolling Stone's song. Lumberjack Flash. Darn it. There you go, Woods. Darn it. He sat in a corner. Jack and the Beanstalk. Stuck his thumb and pulled out a little. Little Jack. Little Jack. Little Jack Horner. Little Jack Horner. Little Jack. Little Jack. Little Jack. Dang it. Little Jack Horner. Dang it. Dang it. Dang it. Dang it. You can get Jack and the Bean stuck out of my head. All right. Win in Vegas. Blackjack. Jackpot. Jackpot. Dang it. Dang it. Every time you say it, I'm like, that's a really good answer. Good job. That's a great answer. Yeah, you got it. All right. Here we go.
Fairytale. Jack the Beanstalk. Finally. Thank the good Lord. You got rid of it now. It's out of your head. All right. Well, that's a new word, so feast. The word is feast. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. What's the score? The score is Mike 2, Lauren 2, Woods 5. All right. Hang on. M1, Anthony, are you there? Oh, yeah. So far, Woods is in the lead, so you're looking good. Get enough. All right. Me and you are tied. We're tied for seconds. Rick, at least I'm in the game this time, buddy. I know. You silly sausage. Silence speaks volumes. Someone mix. Are you there? Yes, I am. All right. L-O-B's in it. I'm in it. So hang on. Here we go. Here we go. What's the word? The word is blue. Blue. Okay. B-L-U-E. Blue. Not like the weekend. Okay. Here we go. The three. Patriotic. Right, white, blue. Huge. Nicely done. You saw me standing there alone without a dream in my heart. Blue moon. Dang it. Gosh, darn, that was a good call. Good pull. Roy Orbison. What? Blue eyes. No. Roy Orbison. Blue's traveler. And little Linda Ronstadt both sang it. Blue by you.
Gosh. Little Ron Stapp. Little Ron Stapp. She said nothing little about her. Nothing little about her. Little Ron Stapp. Little Ron Stapp. It's like cough medicine working on you. Okay, here we go. Essential to an architect. Blue pen. Blue print. Oh, wow. A blue pen. Blue pen. Blue pen. Darling, darling, have you seen my blue pen? I can't do this job unless I have my blue pen. You should rent one. I can't. I'm an architect. It's essential. I need my blue pen. All right. I'm a little off today. Yeah, we all are. Kentucky's nickname. Bluegrass State. Why are you screaming at us, Woods? Gosh darn it, Woods. Why do you know everything? Mike, two, Lauren, four, Woods, eight. Stop going. Stop. I've got a two-pointer for us here. Good. Here we go. A zippity-doo-dah animal. Bluebird. Bluebird. Mr. Bluebird on my shoulder. There you go. What, how many points is that? Two. It's two. Oh, boy. I've got another two-pointer. Oh, gosh. U.S. Naval Spectacular. Bluebird.
I'm going to give it to Mikey. B.S. Come on, man. He started it first. You both finished at the same time, but. Come on, man. Come on, man. Okay, score me again. It's Mike four, Lauren six, Woods eight. Oh, God. So here are two four-pointers. I'm going to get it. Here we go. Shoppers incentive at Kmart. Blue ice special. Blue ice special. Gosh darn it. L.O.B. Horses. Wait, wait, wait. What's the score, L.O.B.? Now I have ten. Wow! Mike, four. Lauren, ten. Woods, eight. Awesome. I have no chance. So here is a four-pointer. Here we go. Elvis sang about his... Push my shoes! Push my shoes! Push my shoes. Mikey? L.O.B. wins. L.O.B. wins. Oh, gosh! Woods is... Look at him. He's in control. I'm going to tell you right now. You can't see him. I can't. He is in...
He is pretending to slit his throat with a pen. He's inconsolable. LLB, on the other hand, is enjoying her morning. M1 Mix from El Cajon. Are you there? Get first. Thank you, LLB. Yeah, you got it. LLB won. Makes me insane. Hey, Woods, you're on fire today, man. You were on fire. You did so good. You did so good. Woods, you did a tremendous job. Oh, tremendous. You got to see it through to the end next time. No coffee for you, though. Yeah, Woods. Hey, Woodsy, I don't know if you heard what L.O.B. said, but I think it's a good point and a good strategy. Next time, see it through to the end. Yeah. I thought I did when he gave you that one that I beat you on. But. Well, even if you'd won that one, you would have had to take it into a tiebreaker because Lauren O'Brien beat you, as they say in the business, fair and square. Just call it square. Just call it square. She beat you square? She beat me square. I played by the rules. Gosh, darn it. Yeah, she just plays by the rules that are given. That's true. I mean, it's not her fault. No, it's not her fault. No, it is not. I know what will make you feel better, though. What's that? When you hear...
Carrie Underwood and Steven Tyler sing Cryin' by Aerosmith together. How do you write lyrics like that? When you write lyrics like that, you wake up in the middle of the night singing the lyrics like that, singing a chorus that deep? I don't think I wake up singing my songs. I wake up with random other people's songs, like your songs, in my head. Does it make you feel like you cryin'? It does, a little bit, in any good way. Really great segue. So smooth. It was very smooth and I didn't... Organic. Yes. For the record, he sang the wrong words to our song. It hasn't started yet, Woods. So you can't judge it until you hear it. It hasn't started yet. I was just going to say, I like that song. I like the song, Crying. But in your eyes, I saw this. No. I've made my mind up. No. I like the song. I like that song.
It's terrible. It's awful. I don't think he sucks anymore. I still think he's good. Even with that messed up raspy voice, I still think Steven Tyler sounds good right there. Woods has asked me this before. I'd pay money to go see Aerosmith. Would you? I wasn't even a big fan. I don't own that. But I think he's got a rare ability, that guy, Steven Tyler. I saw him, man. They do a great live show. Great live show. Carrie Underwood and Steven Tyler on a show called... Crossroads singing Walk This Way. Oh, don't get tough. Please don't be tough. Don't be tough. Don't be tough. Terry, don't get tough. Stop pumping your fist. You're not good, Tommy. All of that was just to warm you up anyway. I was just trying to wet your beak. What I wanted to wet your beak with was a little musical performance because now we're going to talk about the Super Bowl and what happened there. Madonna's halftime performance. In general.
I think people today are saying not half bad. Yeah. I think people in general are saying not half bad. Here's some of it. The National Football League presents the Bridgestone Super Bowl 46 Halftime Show. Madonna came out. She had 450 men dressed like they were from the Trojan era. Shirtless. Uniforms. Breast plates. Breast plates. Pulling this giant chariot. It was healthy. One of the biggest icons of our era. Strike of her. How does she look really good, too? She looks great. She looks good. Phenomenal. Should we talk about it? Yeah. The moment. A couple moments. She tripped once, but she, you know, fixed that pretty quick. She didn't fall. Those freaking heels, man. Come on. The moment I'm talking about was M...
I-A. I didn't see it. Oh, man, I saw it immediately. Yeah, Woods said, rewind that. And then Mike rewound it for about 15 minutes. And I said, you're rewinding too fast. You're rewinding too fast. That's too much. You're going too fast. You've passed it. You've passed it. You've passed it. Why do you keep rewinding? That's exactly it. He rewounded the second quarter. In Woods' defense, I did. But I was hitting play. It wasn't doing anything. I'm like, oh, boy, oh, boy. He's like, stop rewinding, stop rewinding, stop rewinding. I'm trying, I'm trying, I'm trying, I'm trying. Next thing you know, it's Brady taking a safety in the NFL. In the last Super Bowl. Yeah, MIA looks at the camera, flips it off, and says the S word. Well, kind of. But didn't she say the S word? Come on. Yeah, so we knew. Yeah. Great. You know what you just did? MIA.
You just ensured that Simon and Garfunkel play the freaking Super Bowl halftime show for the rest of our freaking lives. There won't be any cool hip hop. There won't be any cool rock bands. There won't be anything cool ever again. Because after the nipple fiasco with Janet Jackson, it took a long time. It took a long time for there to be anything normal. Now, what we have to look forward to... Great. Oh, that's great. I'd be in on this, actually. That's pretty good. Wonderful halftime show. Great. That's really awesome. Wow. Look at that stage setup of two stools. Yes. It's quite a show, isn't it? Two stools out of the middle of a... On the 50-yard line. Not even a stage. Just on the 50-yard line. They put two stools. One for Simon, one for Garfunkel. That's awesome. Thanks, MIA. Thank you, MIA. They show the bleachers. They show us the same. No one's in the same. Everyone's peeing. Everyone's peeing. Hey, MIA. You know what's MIA now? It's a kick-ass ass. I hope they do Homeward Bound. Oh, look, they are. They're doing Homeward Bound.
That's awesome. Great. Every day is an endless dream. Oh, yeah. Cigarettes and magazines. Garfield is like 58 years. Garfunkel. Garfunkel. Every day is a magic day when you're thinking all the things we play. And nothing was a song to play. And whoever home would bow. Home would bow. I guess that was it. Was a play in a home. Hey, kids. Welcome to Super Bowl XLVII. Everybody wanted us to do it, and we're going to do it. It's me and Simon here singing Scarborough Fam. Can you dim the lights, please? Yeah, can we bring the house lights down here? Scarborough Fizz. Can you take us to Scarborough's Fizz?
We want to thank MIA. Thank you so much, dear. You didn't think we would leave without doing Mrs. Robinson, did you? That'd be. That little. provocative bee. That little provocative bee is going to ruin it for the rest of us for the next 50,000 years because she had to flip off the camera. You are a smelly pirate hooker. Next year, Foghat. Live from the Super Bowl. Yeah, Foghat. Crosby, Nash. That's all that's left. Stills didn't want to do it, so it's Crosby and Nash. Two Princess Cruise Lines are real sick. Real, yes. And we'll tell you why. We're also going to play the Incorporator, so if you want to give Woodsy some words, call us right now, 570-1949. Give us words for the Incorporator. An M1 is a Mikey show listener. If you're a Mikey show listener, when you call this program, you turn your radio down, get to the point and don't cuss. That makes you an M1. You are rabid about the Mikey show. You turn your family members on to the Mikey show. You get your husband, your wife to listen to the Mikey show. In addition to you listening, you get your kids to listen to the Mikey show. You get everybody in your life to listen for long periods of time to the Mikey show on the FM frequency. Why? Because we like it that way. We work in radio. We want you to listen to us on the radio. Of the day is Strawberry. I haven't said it yet, but when I do, I need you to be caller number nine so that you can get a flight to Mammoth Mountain in 70 minutes. That's how long it takes to get there. You're going to land closer to lifts than any airport in the West, and they got daily flights starting at 89 bucks. Woods, how is... San Diego Charger linebacker Sean Phillips in a bit of trouble. He's in a little bit of trouble because an investigation in 2009 where it was alleged that he hit a gentleman over the head with a champagne bottle. It hasn't been reopened, but he is being sued by this gentleman. His name is Cam Saran. That is a true story. Cam Saran says that Sean Phillips struck or dropped the bottle of champagne on his head at Bar West.
and that he had a laceration and a closed-head injury. Now, what I thought was really interesting about this story was that our old pal, Antonio Cromartie, who now plays for the New York Jets, signed a declaration in December saying that it was Sean Phillips who threw the bottle. And not him. And not him. Who he was also looked at. And, Antonio, I just want to remind you that snitches get stitches, pal. Oh, wow. Their own champagne bottle. Also, really good news if you're an anti-Pro Bowl person like myself. Roger Goodell, who's the commissioner of the National Football League, said he was very disappointed in the quality of last week's Pro Bowl, and changes must be considered, perhaps even dropping the game altogether. Wow. Which I would be all the way in on. Why can't we just have the Pro Bowl like it used to be the week after? It's the last time you get to watch football. It's in Hawaii. Why don't they just do it like they always did? I don't know. Why do they have to change things? Makes no sense. I don't get it.
It wasn't broke. Everything was fine. All right. This place, we're going to be calling a wedding planner. They're open back east, Jay. They're open back east. Yes, sir. Would you have to leave them right? Call a wedding planner. The wedding planner can hear Woods. Oh, here he comes. Not me. Watch out, boys. He'll chew you water. I will feed Woods words. Oh, here he comes. Watch out, boys. He'll chew you water. Here he comes. Woods, our incorporator, will have to incorporate those words into his conversation, calling a wedding planner. I always give Woods the first word, but I'm going to tell you M1s what all eight words are. Here's the words that Woods is going to have to work with today. Stress, serious, bizarre, obsolete, cucumber, pasty, goose, and trojan.
So he will have to put all of those words into his conversation that he's having with his wedding planner. All right. He can come back in. Was he trying on Jay's vocals? All right, Woods. They can hear you. They can't hear me. First word. Stress. First word is stress. Have you decided what voice you're going to use? Okay. Here we go. Hi, Lauren. Oh, hi, Lauren. My name is Bryce Torse. I was calling. For your help, I am getting married to a fabulous woman named Heather. And I was calling, of course, I could do this myself, but I was calling you to help alleviate some of the stress of planning a wedding. Sure. Congratulations. Okay. I want to ask you one question. How serious are you about wedding planning? Well, it's my day-to-day routine, and I love it. That's what I do for a living. It's great. Excellent.
I find it, first of all, are you married yourself? Because it would be very bizarre if you weren't. Very happy. Yeah. So many marriages these days have really become obsolete. I think a lot of stress has been put on the planning of the wedding, which is why my fiance and I just decided we're going to put it in somebody like your hands. Well, you've called the right person. What can I help you with? Well, I need all kinds of things. I want a lavish wedding, obviously. I want my fans and my friends to have a good time. I say fans because I'm slightly famous. I'm an author. I want cucumber martinis. I want a mashed potato bar. Just all the good stuff. Well, that's very doable. When are you available to come in to discuss it? I'd be available today, probably today, maybe tomorrow. Okay, well, I'm actually open. Well, I need to tan today, first and foremost, because I am pasty white and just really hideous. Oh, well, that's important. That'll look good, right? Yeah, exactly. I'm going to get out there, and by the time I'm done today, I'm going to look like a cooked goose.
for it i think that sounds good okay good well i want to come in and see you and this is a little bit out of the ordinary but would it be possible for me to ride in uh to the wedding like on a trojan horse is that something that you guys could handle like did you see the super bowl last night that's what i want our wedding to look like oh well that's all that's all very doable you know we just i have the right contacts excellent excellent well you sound like a doll and i will see you soon Well, thank you very much. I look forward to seeing you. Okay, and remember, my name is Bryce Torse. All right. Okay. Thank you so much, Bryce. Thank you, Lauren. Okay. Bye-bye. Oh, my gosh. Wow. I couldn't say it. I had to read it. What did you say when I said cucumber? Do you have a martinis at a mashed potato bar? Martinis at a mashed potato bar. The good stuff. I'm slightly famous. Yeah, I'm an author. And at my wedding, which, by the way, I want to look like the Super Bowl halftime show last night. It's doable, though. It's good to know. It's doable. She didn't bat an eye. No, she's used to that. Her deal probably is she says yes to everything.
anything people want and then worries about it later. Yeah, you get them in the door. You get them on the lot, okay? Cucumber martinis. Gross. No, they're actually pretty good. And a mashed potato bar. The good stuff. That was fantastic. My gosh, I'm lightheaded. I'm marrying a beautiful woman. I forgot the name of my supposed fiance, by the way. Heather, okay. Heather. I'm marrying a beautiful woman. By the way, My name is Bryce Torse. That's Wood's go-to. Bryce Torse. Maybe one of the greatest names ever. Last week, we asked listeners to call us with I Shouldn't Be Alive stories, and we got doozies. Oh, yeah. So we're doing it again. If you have an I Shouldn't Be Alive type story, call us with it.
We want to hear your I shouldn't be alive story. Something extraordinary that happened to you, that you lived through, and that you can call us and tell us about. Whatever it is, we want to hear it. This made me laugh out loud. Lauren O'Brien, otherwise known as LOB, and her boyfriend, Matt Commerce, BFMC, or BFMC. They went on a little vacation getaway this weekend. To Lake Arrowhead. Now, first of all, how do you decide on Lake Arrowhead? We were thinking about Big Bear, and we just decided, oh, it's a little bit closer. There wasn't a ton of snow up there, so we'll just do Lake Arrowhead. Now, the place that you went to, they had a little spa area. Yes. So you're going to enjoy a little spa area. Yeah, and we got there, like, I think it was closing at... And we got there at about 530 to go check it out. And they were like, oh, yeah, just take a look around. Go see everything. Now, L.O.B. and her boyfriend, Matt Commerce, they did what a lot of people do. They just start poking around. You just start looking around. Yeah. So we were just like, oh, what's this? Opening doors. Actually, at one point, Matt went in the locker room and he goes, nice. Because it was a nice locker room. And he said, right as he said, nice, a naked man walked by. Thank you very much.
I was talking about you, sir. Yeah, I appreciate it. Everything about you looks nice. It looks nice to me. Saw you nude. I'm in. You silly sausage. So they get to the end of the hallway to the last very dark room. Okay. And only our friend, Lauren R. O'Brien. She goes in there and screams. Where is this, Steve? At that point. Her boyfriend, Matt Commerce, turns the light on to take a look. Where's the steam room? At which point was a woman comes running and waving her arms like, no, no, no, no, no, no. Because they had walked into and not realized.
The meditation portion of a yoga class. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Yes. Yes. Only Lauren O'Brien. Only Lauren O'Brien. Only Lauren O'Brien. Sorry. Oh, gosh. I couldn't even be apologetic. I was like. And I just could not. Of course. Because. Oh my gosh. You think that you're in there. You think that you're having a great time. And all you wanted to do, really, is just explore. That's all you wanted to do. And I couldn't find the steam room. Yeah, you're looking for the steam room. They're walking around. They're looking for the steam room. They walk into what appears to be a dark room. If there's music, hey, listen, there's always music. It's a spa. There's music all the time. Yes. It's outstanding. Yes, I can't see anything, but that's par for the course as well. We're in a portion of this thing that we can't see. I don't know. It's just bodies laying on the ground. Shavasana. What is that?
What is shavasana? Whatever it is, it's got to do with yoga. At the end, just ground yourself to the earth. Breathe. Just reflect on your practice. Lion's face. Listen, I want you to know this. Shavasana. Moments before Woods. Moments before your friend. Your friend. Lauren O'Brien walked into that room. The following conversation was. or had taken place. And that is no joke. I say this to you because that's a true story. Moments before, it was a steam room. Just a warm, warm, everyday steam room where people were enjoying a yoga thing. That was about 5.30 in the evening. 5.30. Oh my God. Right now, right now, somewhere, someone is at work and they're in a cube with three other people going, Yes, I went to this freaking spa. Thought it was going to be great. Some broad walks in screaming about the steam room. Yeah. Almost asked my pants. Sally freaking talked me into that yoga class. I'm in there. I finally get relaxed. Yeah. Finally. I finally get relaxed. I'm drifting off. I'm going to hit the lights, though. Oh, my God. It is dark in here for a reason. Just so that you have no distractions. The busy city is miles away. What is it?
This is one person that is uncomfortable. I'm sorry, I'm just so stressed. It is okay, because a lot of times people come here and they are stressed, but by the time you leave, you will be completely relaxed. My wife dragged me here and I didn't want to come, but I'm glad I did. I'm glad you did too. What is your name? My name's Steve. Steve, welcome. Thank you very much. It's good to be here. Welcome to yoga. Oh my God, what the hell is that? Steve, it is okay. Everyone here, relax. What you are hearing right now is a young person that does not know the facility. Please try to ignore, okay? We are sitting, some of us laying. Excuse me. That is so brilliant. Don't do it, don't do it. That is so brilliant. He was afraid to go. We were going to go to the lodge and get some.
Dinner, and he was like, I'm going to be the guy to turn in the lights. Oh, yeah. They're like, oh, look over there. Nobody saw me. I was behind him. Oh, that's so coarse. Brilliant. Brilliant. Of course. Let's see. 570-1949 is our phone number. Oh, oh, oh, we're so late. Yeah. We are so late. Oh, we're going to be talking to Mark Fabiani from the San Diego Chargers. I want to know. Surf-wise today, looking pretty fun still, past its peak of that west-northwest direction, but still solid lines coming in, hindered by the high tide once again this morning. Looking at chest-shoulder high waves on average, overhead waves into standout spots. The swirl's going to taper out throughout the day as the tide drops out. Look for the swirl to lose some size as well. Clean conditions once again, clearing skies, going to be a sunny, warm one. Offshore winds as well. Beach is a bit walled up. Reef breaks kind of high-tided out. But nonetheless, if you look hard enough, you'll find ways throughout the day. Just have to time your sessions according to those tides. With us right now, special counsel to the San Diego Chargers, Mark Fabiani. Are you there, Mark? I'm right here. How are you doing this morning? Good. Nice to have you back on the Mikey Show. Always good to be here. Thanks. Listen, my thing with you is what can I do? And I mean it. I mean, I'm telling you, if there's anything that I can do as a broadcaster personally to get this stadium deal done, I would. And it's because I want it as badly as you guys want it. We understand from reading the newspaper that we're a little bit closer now. Can you explain to people why are we closer to having a deal done for a stadium here in San Diego? Well, there are all sorts of good things going on. One, the players and owners reached a labor agreement which set aside money to help build stadiums. And so we're likely to get $200 million in grants and loans from the NFL, which is a big chunk of money. Second, there's a real consensus now on a downtown site. There's a real consensus on building a multi-use facility, not just a standalone stadium so that we can be in the running, not just for Super Bowls, but for Final Fours and major political and religious conventions and all those kinds of big events that we'll never get. So that's an important thing. And there's just a lot of discussion around town. The Union Tribune has a proposal for downtown. The mayor has a proposal. We're working with both the mayor and the Union Tribune on their ideas.
There's a lot going on. We still have a long way to go, but we're making progress. I hope that the city actually takes a good... Hard look at what the Union Tribune had to offer because on their own, they came up with something that looked extraordinary, which would include a downtown convention center expansion, a brand new Charger Stadium with a brand new sports arena right next to it, making downtown look like a crown jewel and a park and an area for people to. be able to take their families and their kids. It really looked incredible. How serious, Mark Fabiani, do you think that the city government will look at that plan? I think people are already looking at it seriously, not just the current city government, but you have a race going on for mayor. There'll be a new mayor next year, and this is already a big topic of debate in that race. And so I think it's being taken very seriously, not just for the reasons you just stated, but also because...
You could free up all the city-owned land at Qualcomm, 166 acres, all the city-owned land at the sports arena, 100 acres. You could take all that land. You could sell it or lease it. You could create parkland on some of it. You could develop other parts of it, generating tax revenue for taxpayers and generating revenue from the sale or lease. So it could be a win-win for everybody because the city owns that land now, and it generates nothing. So even if you've never watched the Super Bowl, never watched the Charger game, don't care anything about football, You should care that those two big pieces of city-owned land at Qualcomm and at the sports arena are now costing the city money, and we could actually turn it around and generate money if we did something like the Union Tribune is proposing. Now we're talking to Mark Fabiani, who's a special counsel to the San Diego Chargers. He started with the Chargers in 2002, and his primary function is to work with the greater San Diego community to look at ideas and explore opportunities. for a new stadium right here in San Diego, which I think would be absolutely fantastic. Okay, so where does the rubber hit the road? I know that our current mayor, Jerry Sanders, is going to be out this year. By the end of the year, he'll be gone. One of the things that he said in his State of the City address is before he leaves, one of the things that's really a big priority to him is getting this stadium deal done.
Do you think, Mark Fabiani, that that's a bunch of political maneuvering? Or is he serious? He's really going to do that? Oh, I think he's very serious. The mayor has been working very hard on this issue for quite a while now. He's appointed a person, Fred Matz, who is running this whole issue for him. And Fred works diligently on it. So I think he's serious. There's just a lot to do to get the deal, quote unquote, done by the end of the year. But what we could do by the end of the year is come up with a plan that has consensus in the community, that has the support of this mayor and has the support of the next mayor. And then you're pretty close to getting something on the ballot in 2013 and getting it passed. And then we'll be on the road to getting it done. Now, when you say on the ballot, are you talking about in November? No, we won't make the November deadline at this point simply because there's just so much going on that getting a final proposal, getting the signature gathering going, getting all that done is probably not going to happen in time. So we're probably talking about a special election sometime in 2013 at this point. At what point? In the early part of 2013, like in the spring of 2013? Probably spring would be the best time. Absolutely. OK, so realistically.
What we could be looking at is in the spring of 2013, having a special election where San Diegans may be voting on a brand new stadium for the San Diego Chargers. That's the plan. And if we get the consensus that we need among, obviously, the NFL as well as the Chargers and the Spanos family, the city, the county, all the regional agencies that are involved, if we can do that. by the end of the summer, beginning of the fall of this year, then that goal that you just talked about is very achievable. For people that don't know much about the situation, we're talking to Mark Fabiani, who works very closely with the Chargers in this exact issue of getting a stadium built. For those of you that don't know much about it, for years and for a long time, it seemed like all there was between the city, Mark Fabiani, and the Charger organization was a lot of bad blood. That seems to have kind of... gone away. It seems like you guys are working together now more than ever before. Is that true? That's absolutely true. You know, the bad blood was largely the doing of Mike Aguirre, who was the city attorney for four years. He pretty much put a stop to everything that we were trying to do and that anyone else was trying to do. But once he left office, once we renegotiated our lease with the city and got rid of that dreaded ticket guarantee.
Once we did what we needed to do, I think the city realized that we're serious about trying to stay. Mayor Sanders has been a great partner in all of this. So I think our political strength in the city has never been higher. Obviously, we still have issues, and the biggest one is financing this. How do you pay for it in a way that's acceptable to taxpayers? But we've made a lot of progress, and this year we hope to make some more. Last question. I know this is hard for you to answer, Mark. We're talking to Mark Fabiani. I know it's hard for you to answer. But if you had to, this is just you and I talking. No one's listening. It's just you and I. Percentage of chance that the San Diego Chargers stay in San Diego and have a new stadium built before 2016? Well, when you put the 2016 on it. Forget it. Forget the date. Yeah, forget the 2016 because you've got lawsuits. You've got litigation. But, look, I think you've got to look at Dean Spanos and his family, the commitment that they've shown over the last 10 years to get something done. They've certainly had opportunities over the last 10 years to take the team elsewhere, and they haven't done it. And so you've got an owner that wants to keep the team here, and that's the most important thing. So I think when you factor that in, the chances have got to be better than 50-50. Now, by 2016, I think that's tough just because of the litigation you have in California.
But I do think that we've got a lot going on and it's all very positive. And hopefully by the end of this year, we'll have a proposal that people can vote on. That would be great. This is Mark Fabiani. He's the guy that would know. So if you're interested in the stadium for your San Diego Chargers, this is the guy that knows the most about it. And let me tell you this. If Lucas Oil Stadium in two degree Indianapolis, Indiana can have a Super Bowl. Certainly, look at the weather that we had here yesterday. Imagine if the Super Bowl had been played in this town yesterday. And I'm telling you, man, I think it can be done. I think that we'll get Super Bowls and all that other stuff that you talked about. I am 100% behind and for a new stadium. And if you can ever use me, Mark, then use the Mikey Show. Call us, and if you ever need me for anything, I'm here for you. We appreciate it. and we're going to take you up on that. Thank you very much. Thanks, Mark. We appreciate it. Thank you. I really hope it happens, and I do think that they have some contingency plans in place, and I think that they have some ways to try to make all parties happy and do some good for the city. That's Mark Fabiani, and he knows a heck of a lot more about all this stuff than I do.
I want to tell you about the cruise ship thing and what's going on with the cruise ship thing. But I want you to call right now 570-1949 with your I shouldn't be alive stories. We started taking these last week and were shocked with the amount of people that were calling us with crazy stories that couldn't leave my mind. I couldn't escape them. The guy that called us and said that he had a 38 pressed to his forehead. Dude. Could see the barrel. And the guy that was standing behind the barrel squeezed around and misfired. So then he put the gun down, shot him in the leg. Incredible story. Call us right now with your I Shouldn't Be Alive stories at 570-1949. We've got some people holding right now that we're going to talk to. Two Florida-based Princess Cruises ships. Oh, boy. 499 cases occurred on the Ruby Princess and the Crown Princess. It's the Poopy Princess. Yeah. They're both based out of Fort Lauderdale. Well, when you think about it, you all are eating the same stuff. Yeah. Holding the same utensils. With filthy water. Yeah.
Yeah, you're grabbing on to a spoon to scoop something into your plate that 900,000 people on board have been scooping with. And if they've got any kind of flu or whatever and you touch that spoon. Don't nobody go in the bathroom for about 35, 45 minutes. That's all I'm saying. Right. You've got to be very careful. Yet another reason. Yes. Not to go on a cruise. That's right. 570-1949 is the phone number. M1 Buzz is on the line from Claremont. Are you there, Buzz? Yeah. What happened to you? I grew up in a foreign country, Papua New Guinea, over, it's by Australia. Anyway, we were, it literally lived in the jungle. And for eighth birthday present, my dad gave me a bush knife. And so me and a bunch of guys are down at the river making a raft out of just... Trees, knocking trees down. And I'm cutting the end off one of these trees, and it nicks off the end of the tree and goes right into my knee. Oh, wow. And at this time, we're about an hour away from any hospitals, anything. Oh, gosh. And so I had to hobble back to the house about 100 yards down a trail.
hobble 100 yards down and there was actually a plane in the area and they said if there hadn't been a plane in the area I would have died. Oh my gosh. Bleed out. So they flew you from there to where? A small town called Wewak. Oh, Wewak. They're good. They're good there. There was actually a tidal wave there recently or during then it was recently and there was one suturing kit left and one surgeon who was supposed to leave that morning but Flight got delayed, and so he stayed there. What would have killed you? Bleeding out. Bleeding out. Bleeding out. Oh, man. Bleeding out. That is insane. That's insane. Hey, thanks for the call. I love it. These are I Shouldn't Be Alive stories. Let's see. This is M1 Janelle from Pacific Beach. Are you there, Janelle? I'm here. What happened? Stories for you. Give me the best one. All right. I guess it would be I went skydiving, and I had scheduled the trip to go on a Saturday afternoon with a boyfriend at the time that I was dating. He was graduating from Santa Barbara, and I get up there early on Friday night, so we decided to go on Friday evening flight instead. Everything was great. We had a blast. That Saturday morning trip that we planned to go on, the exact plane, flight time, everything.
Ended up crashing, pulling everybody on board. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Yeah, if we had ended up going on it, we would have been dead. The only reason that you did not get on that flight is because you got into Santa Barbara a little early? Yep. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. How does it make you feel after? Do you feel, oh, my gosh, I was spared for a reason? Yeah, and considering I have two other ones that are just as good. Okay, now I got to know. I got to know. You're too good. Got to know. I was 15 a week before my 16th birthday. I was held up at gunpoint with a friend, and the guy had the gun in my ribs at my chest, and I didn't believe the gun was real, and he's screaming, give me your money, give me your money, and I said, I don't have an effing purse, and he ended up taking the keys and taking everything that we had. He was on parole for murder. There were five other counts against him at the trial when they caught him. Everyone else was either raped or injured except for me and my friend. Wow. And I had talked back to him. And it was because you were sassy with him. I don't know if that was it. And then my other one was I was on a flight and we took in a flock of birds.
And lost an engine, dropped a few hundred feet, and had to make an emergency landing. This happened right after the Hudson River, and our plane was one of the ones on the news. Oh, my gosh. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. You weren't the one that crashed in the Hudson. No, but I was one of the ones that was after the Hudson that ended up making it on the news for kicking in a flock of birds. And let me tell you, it does smell like a burnt turkey dinner in the airplane when that happens. Does it really? Wow. Oh, it smells horrible. Can you eat turkey anymore? I wouldn't be able to. Yeah, as long as it's not burning. Oh, man. You have had a very interesting... How old are you? 37. Man, you've had some stuff happen to you. Are you married? Yes, with a child. Let me tell you something. In some ways, I would be like, I hope nothing bad happens when I'm hanging around with you. You know what I mean? Yeah. She has a horseshoe. Well done. Thank you for taking me. Have a good one. Thank you. Gosh, that is crazy. Ooh, this is a good one.
M1 Pat from Carlsbad. What happened to you? Oh, this was quite a few years ago. I got the right idea. I lost my keys. My keys were actually stolen. And I got the right idea that I would hotwire my own car. Oh, no. I had to work. Mm-hmm. So I hotwired my car. I got in it, started up, drove to work, you know, windy road around cliffs and bays, pulled into the parking lot at work. When I pulled into the lot, I turned the wheel all the way over and the steering locked. So I could have locked, I think, any time, you know, when I was driving on my way to work. Oh, my God. I didn't think about the steering column locking. Oh, my God. The steering column locked up on you and you were in the parking lot when it happened? Yeah, I'd already gotten to work. Oh, my God. Lucky. And you'd been driving down windy roads. Yep, yep. Yeah, you shouldn't be alive. You shouldn't be alive. You should not be alive. I have a question. Yeah. How the hell did you learn how to hotwire a car? It just seemed to make sense. You know, it was an older car, and I pulled some wires out and put them together, and the engine started. It's genius. Off I went. Man. It's genius. You're a lucky man. I know that. You're a very lucky man. Thanks for the call. You bet. Nah, nah, nah, come on.

A big stretch here on the 805 northbound, 94 east, all the way down to Sweetwater Road, between 25 to 31 miles an hour. Also, the 5 northbound, you're going to find some backup, 9th Street Plaza Boulevard to the 54 eastbound. That's about 21 miles an hour. And then we've got a trash can rolling around on the 5 southbound on that E Street off-ramp. This report, it's brought to you by San Diego County. Have you tried my spicy balls out there? I have. They're delicious. Man, once you get them in your mouth. Uh-huh. That's our Jay. They're spicy and delicious. Boy.
After you've had them. Turkey meatballs. Yeah. I haven't had one yet. Yeah, grape jelly and the sriracha. Do some strawberry jam together with some hot sauce. It's delicious. M1 told us about it. I had to do it. Good, LLB? It is, actually. If you don't think about what's in it. I would have never thought that jelly and hot sauce would be good together. Apparently it is. Delicious. If you think about what's in it, it's gross and you can... Nah, it didn't bother me. You can't think about what's in there. Yeah. Lauren O'Brien's going to be dancing at a live broadcast that we're going to have at House of Blues. It's happening on Friday, February 17th, the entire broadcast, 5.30 to 9. And now you can really get in there really easy for $89. They got daily flights. And you're going. Hang on the line, okay? Right on. Thanks. Let's see. So, the graffiti artist that painted Facebook's headquarters is going to make... $200 million. Oh, my goodness. Wow. Because they gave him stock. That's how they paid him. And their IPO is about to hit. That's perfect. Three or four months away. Dang it. They're going to release that IPO. And that's what they did. They gave him a bunch of IPO dough. Wow. And that's how much it's worth. So he can, if he wants, he can hold on to it. It'll be worth more later. But if he wants to, he could sell it all. And it will be worth...
$250 million. Not bad. Or 200 mil. Seems fair. Yeah. That's what they gave the guy. That's what he took. Genius move. By the way, Wall Street is reopening today. Reopened our time at 6.30 this morning. After a huge Friday. Pushed the Dow Jones Industrial Average into triple digit gains. That's insane. Close the week up 157 points. And that is real good news. It's the highest number it's been since the year 2000 on Friday. When we ended, when that final bell rang on Wall Street on Friday, it was the highest numbers since the year 2000. When that doorbell rang at Wall Street, it was the highest number since then. Now, why? A lot of people say, how can it's so good? Why is it so good?
243,000 jobs in January. And that's way more than we expected. Unemployment's dropped by 8.3% from 8.5% in December. Maybe this thing is turning around. Needed some time. Yeah, just needed a little bit of time. So we'll see. Every single person that... Oh, wait a minute. I should have gone to you for... You got some sports info? I got a story. It just broke. Wait till you hear this. Go ahead. So apparently Tom Brady's wife, Giselle, was at the Super Bowl watching her hubby Tommy play last night. And so after the game is over, some Giants fans are heckling her. And they're saying, Eli rules. Eli owns your husband. They have Giselle on video saying, you need to catch the ball.
When you're supposed to catch the ball, my husband cannot blanking throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can't believe they dropped the ball so many times. He is going to have to drop the hammer. He's going to have to put duct tape over her mouth if she wants to come to another game. And just say, babe, listen. Come on. If they're giving you a hard time, just don't say anything back. You can't say anything. Because it's going to make me look bad. It's going to make him look horrible. Yeah. Because she's basically blaming Wes Welker, Aaron Hernandez, Dion Branch, all the guys that dropped. I mean, they had some big drops in the fourth quarter. And she's defending her husband, Tommy Brady. She calls him Tommy. She calls him Tommy. Yeah. And, Mikey, I was very sad to report this for you, that your favorite Spaniard cyclist, Alberto Contador, was stripped of his 2010 Tour de France Monday. He was banned for doping. Weird. And I'm very sorry. I don't follow him. Your Alberto Cantador pennant and your sweatshirt that you wear all the time, I wouldn't wear it. He cheats, so don't. I'm Hispanic, but that doesn't mean I follow Spaniard bicyclists. Well, when you cycle, you wear his jersey. His jersey. Team Spain. I don't cycle. Clearly. There were 70 people that lived in a town called...
And everybody in that town, all 70 people, they bought a lottery ticket, all except for one person who decided not to. They wanted to be the different one, the one that didn't do what everyone did. And now they're $130,000 out because there's nothing like a $950 million lottery pool. To be spread out over 70 people, equaling 130,000 apiece. Except, of course, the story today is not that 71 people won. Because one person opted out. That would be me. That would be you. That would undeniably be Lauren. I don't want to pay for it. Would you expect a taste? No. You wouldn't? No way. I'd give you one.
I wouldn't expect it. I wouldn't give her one. I'd give her a taste. She doesn't expect it. No way. I'd give her a little taste. She doesn't deserve it. No way. But that's our friend. She stayed out. That's our friend, though. We're not going to come to work with our winnings and rub it in her face. Well, I wouldn't suggest rubbing it in her face ever. Yeah, but that's what happens. You snooze, you lose. But you don't rub. I'd give you a taste, L.O.B. That's the kind of guy I am. I appreciate that. You're welcome. You don't rub. You just, you know. Yeah, we just come in. I'm wearing a new suit. I got a new Ferrari. I have a gold chain. You're wearing a fur. A fur? I'm wearing a fur. What's the matter with you? I told you. Keep it quiet. Is your idea quiet for a coat like this? I put it in my wife. It's in my wife's name. What did I tell you about it? It's in my wife's name. Get it out of here. I don't care whose name. It's in my wife's name. You bought a new car? You're buying new cars already? LLB didn't buy a ticket? Get out of here, I told you. Be careful with the money. What did I say? I said, don't spend any money. What are you, stupid or what? The greatest. The greatest. It's good fellas. End scene. Americans are facing trial in Egypt. I saw this this morning, and I don't know what to think of it. 19 Americans in Egypt are in trouble. Here's what the Egyptians are saying. They're saying that they put them in jail.
Because they belong to a nonprofit group that was trying to promote democracy in other countries around the world and that they were trying to influence parliament. Now, this is what we know. Excuse me. I'm going to backtrack a little bit. They are not accusing them of being a part of a nonprofit group that promotes democracy in other countries around the world. That's just what they are. That's what they are. What Egypt is saying about them. is that they're using foreign money in an attempt to influence elections there. And these kids essentially are like, no, we're just humanitarians here because we're trying to spread democracy in other countries around the world. That's their bit. So they were arrested. And they're a big part of this anti-American deal that's been going on ever since Egypt got overthrown because of Facebook. Everybody got on Facebook and said,
Let's riot. And they did. And they ousted the old government. Well, the U.S. Secretary of Transportation is a dude named Ray Hood. His kids jailed. He's one of them. Wow. His son, Sam, is one of them. The Obama administration is telling Egypt, give them back, lay off, quit being freaks, don't be weird. By the way, if you don't give them back, if you don't give these kids back. We're going to cut off aid to your country. Now, a lot of people go, well, what's that amount to? Anyway, $1.5 billion a year. That's what we give the Egyptians. And we're trillions in debt. Yes. We give them 1.5 bill. Now, there's a reason we give them 1.5 bill. It's not as easy as it seems. The simple answer would be, well, we're in debt. Let's quit giving the Egyptians money. Hang on. Not so fast.
Do you know how many oil fields the Egyptians are in charge of? Yeah. Yeah. If the Egyptians wanted to, the Egyptians could go. Really? That's good. That's good. You guys want to fuel the SUV? What are you going to do? Put water? Question. Yes. Follow my logic. Go ahead. Since they are in control of so many oil fields, which yield so much money. Yes. Why do we need to aid them? So that they continue to sell us said oil at a legitimate price. What do they need relief from if they control all the oil? Do you see what I'm saying? Yeah, I do. Why are we giving them relief money? Because their government is corrupt. Okay. Has been corrupt. That's why they overthrew the government. And they don't have things like Pampers. Okay? Fair enough. They don't have simple things like formula. So we give them a bunch of money in relief. Fair enough.
Who owns those oil fields are a few select people that are in charge. And it's not distributed. No. So the average Joe living in Egypt is like, I want my share. I want my, not my share. I want a life. I want a life. I want a life. So we give $1.5 billion to the Egyptians, and I'm not suggesting that we stop giving $1.5 billion because we all kind of like driving to work. Yeah. It's the same argument that's going on right now with Iran. Iran is clearly making nukes. And they're making a lot of noise about it. In fact, they are a big dog that's barking very loud right now. And that's calm. They're a little dog in the neighborhood barking very loud saying that they're developing weapons. They hate Israel. And they've gone on record as saying, we hate Israel. We can't say it any louder. We hate them. Here's Israel. We don't take any S from anybody. So if you keep saying that you hate us so loud, we're going to knock your thing off. So don't say that too loud. And Iran goes, I don't care what you say. We think you're a bunch of D's. And if we had the opportunity, we'd shove it right down your throat. And Israel's going to us, the United States.
You hear what they're saying, right? They're pissing us off. And the United States goes, everybody calm down. Everybody just calm down. Let's not anybody freak out. Let's everybody stay friends. Let's everybody be cool. Be cool. Be cool. Now, Israel has the capabilities of throwing the smack down. We've given them a bunch of weapons and money and stuff so they could throw the smack down. Well, our very own defense secretary, Leon Panetta, says that in April or May, they're going to throw the smack down on Iran. They're going to start bombing the crap out of them. Here's what Iran says. They go, if you bomb us, we're going to start sending rockets into those oil fields. Oh, God. Which makes me go. Yeah. Now, I said to my brother, I go.
We wouldn't let him do that, would we? Would we just let him? Would we just let him, like, throw a bunch of rockets in the oil fields? He says, how many do you think they'd be able to hit before we stop them? Because they may be the crazy neighbor on the block, but the bottom line is, that crazy neighbor on the block every once in a while, they flip out. Yeah, and they're effective. And they're effective. Right. I just wish that there was a way to go. Why don't we all get along? Everybody just get along? You guys want to just get along? Everybody be cool. Like that scene in Pulp Fiction. Be cool, man. Be cool, honey bunny. Be cool. Be cool, honey bunny. Tell that B to be cool. Maybe we get green energy and not have to worry about it. Hey, S-G-N-T. You can't throw a billion dollars at green energy? No, you could. You could throw a trillion dollars at green energy.
The problem is that that's not the way that the big old machine works. That's not the way the machine works. It's going to have to at some point. At some point it will. It'll run out. Listen, even Obama knows that's not the way the machine runs. It isn't the way that right now, and it's been running this way for a long time. The way the machine runs is you stick oil in your car and you put gas in it. And we all do it. We all do it. 40 bucks a gallon. We got to just hope Egypt is cool. Iran is cool. The Israelis are cool. Everybody be cool. Everybody cool? I'll tell you what I like about Obama. Obama seems like so far he's the kind of guy that doesn't take a lot of S. He doesn't really stand for it. So if anything happened, I'm pretty confident that Obama would go, well, listen, you know. Sorry. Sorry. We'll see.
Got an interesting email that I want to read to you and get your temperature on. When I read it, I thought, oh yeah, this is going to be fun to talk about. It's an email about, don't worry, we've given you the updates that you need on the Super Bowl. All you need to know is what the UT said. Some of the commercials were good, some of them sucked, but it's all a matter of opinion. The good ones, Honda, Dorito, Acura, Chevy. According to the UT. The sucky ones. The Bud Light Platinum commercial. Nothing funny, nothing interesting, just another beer commercial. The Bridgestone. Bring back the squirrels. Go Daddy. Same bit. They said that one of the worst commercials was the TaxAct.com commercial, which I actually thought was cool with a kid peeing in the pool. It was genius. I thought it was actually pretty interesting.
Anyway, it just all depends on what your opinion of it was. The number one rated commercial from USA Today's ad meter on the Super Bowl was the Slingshot Doritos Baby, which L.O.B. hated. I liked it halfway. And then once it switched gears, I was like, oh boy. Once they started to sling the kid to get the Doritos. Yeah. You were out. Do I have the email? Do I have this email printed? Jay's printing it. Okay. Tell me what you think about this. Mikey, I love your guys' show, and I followed you, Mikey, from Rock 105. I hear you guys read emails from people, and I think mine qualifies. My boyfriend has great taste in clothes, style, and obviously women. JK, smiley, winky face. Well, I never really noticed the candles in his apartment. I know it seems like a big thing to girls, but I just didn't notice.
The only reason that I did notice is because they've been lit and blown out. Either he loves to relax with candles, and then in parentheses she put, not around me, mind you, or he lights them for another girl. What do you guys think, M1 Sarah? Wiener time. Girlfriend notices candles in dude's apartment. They've been lit because the wick is black. If the wick's not black, it means they've never been burned. It's a candle, but it's never been burned. Okay. Either dude loves to just chill out. He likes to chillax with some candles on. Kenny G. Kenny G and a glass of Chardonnay after a long day's work after he throws his heels off. It's either that or he's got a girl coming over. Not her, by the way. Not Sarah.
He's never lit these candles around Sarah. Power outage. Like it. Look at that genius in there. Mike, I've given every excuse you can possibly. Hey, I got a little book that I go to sometimes. Kim will call me, where were you? And I flip to it. Laundromat. Fixing somebody's washer. Fixing a spare tire. I was washing windows. I got this section in there called, what do you do if candles have a burnt wick? Say the power went out. The power went out. I don't think he's using it on another girl. No. Because if he didn't use it on her, Sarah, that wrote the email, that's not his go-to move. It's not his move. Yeah. Maybe it's not his go-to move with her because she's stated in the past. I like crazy Sarah. Hi, I see some candles have been burned. You must be cheating on me. Really? That's like something I would do. Oh, boy. Well, she's asking. Yeah. Yeah, I think she's insane. Maybe you ask him. Crazy. She doesn't want to sound crazy to him. She'd rather sound crazy to us. And thousands of people. I don't think she sounds crazy. She sounds like a detective mind, which many women have. Yeah, I don't think she sounds crazy. Stupid detective minds. I don't know that the guy's cheating. But I do think it's, first of all, guys that have candles. Creeps. Yeah. And I know because I used to have... As did I. As did I. You know why I had them?
To have sex to girls. Yeah, because I wanted girls to think that it was nice when they came over. I wanted to make sex to them. It puts out a good smell. You know, when you walk into a house and there's candles burning, it kind of hides some of the smells. We're not talking about the patchouli hemp oil ones that you get. No, no. We're talking about candles. I mean, if you have a dog and there's all the cooking smells. One candle is okay for a guy to have. Yeah, one is fine. If a guy has more than one candle, it's... I like candles in each of the bathrooms. That's because you poo in there, dude. Everyone does. That's because you like guys, too. Well, yeah, there's that. There's that. That's not true. I love candles. Poo candles is acceptable. Yeah, you could have a poo candle in there. Poo candles is acceptable. Everybody's got a poo candle. And then one in the living room to cover the smell of foods that have been cooking. The smell of marijuana cigarettes. Yeah, you can cover that up, too. Or incense. What if you have them in the living room? Just one. If you've got votives. Just like a little display of them. What? When you're not here, what? Yeah, okay, fine. I admit it. I'm sorry. I never told you this before. When you're not here, sometimes I like to listen to freaking Kenny G, okay? And yeah, sometimes after a freaking long day at construction, I come home and I'm freaking tired and my feet hurt from those steel-toed boots. And I like to rip them off.
And I like to take a freaking bath. Yes, I said it. A bubble bath. I like to take a bubble bath. What a baby. Okay, I admit it. I go to my voters. I like to light a couple of candles and put some Kenny G on and pour a glass of Rina Needy on ice. You know why? Because I freaking work hard and I'm tired. Okay? And blow and blow. Have one Kenny G song. It's Songbird, okay? It's freaking Songbird. Is that okay? It's the only one anyone knows. It's the only one anyone has and anyone knows. It's called Songbird, okay? If you must know, I have Songbird. I've listened to it with my feet, relaxing in a cold or warm bath, depending on my mood. But I'm not gay and I'm not having sex with other women. Yes, I lit the candles. It's a safety hazard. He comes walking out of your bedroom. Blowing.
That stringy, long hair. Whipping it around. That Afro glow. Oily. He has that oily, slick of hair. I'm sure he's available. Blowing and smiling all the time. I just want to say, if you are over 50, and I'm saying this with extreme prejudice, if you are over 50 and you made love to this song, I don't care that it was popular. I don't want to know you. I don't care that it was popular. I don't give a crap if it was the number one hit song in America at the time. You are a creep. I don't want to know you. I want to dig a hole for myself. You got to get rid of them. You just making out. Oh, creep. And then the. Just on a couch. Yeah. Dorm room bed. Not a second. Hang on a CD there. Yeah. Did you get queued up to your favorite part? No. It had to start with a. Oh, so she knew what was coming. Yeah. When it ended. Where's the part? Where's the good part? The good part? Then there's the pan flute. The pan flute, too. Big player. It reminds me. It's getting kind of hectic. It's like horny Zamfir. Yeah, horny Zamfir. When it ended. Yeah. Did you start it? Lots of stuff going on. A car fire here on the 805 southbound right past Governor Drive. And then there's a problem here on the 52 westbound. It's right past Mass Boulevard causing a pretty big delay. It's a blue Honda that's in it's stalled. It's in the slow lane and then you got a backup behind it. Looks like an issue here on the 80 eastbound before the 125 southbound. It's a van that's not working and it looks like it may be transporting prisoners. So, I don't know. And now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. Don't really like to swim. Unlike most Latinos. Woods. I can put down a 20 pack of chicken nuggets. No problem. Lauren. I got a little pepper up my nose. Had to sneeze. And Jake. No, I didn't cry. I'm a man. On FM 94.9. Woods doesn't dance to this. The funniest things I've ever seen. He stands up and puts both hands out. Yeah. Palms up.
And he shimmies that, those hips. You know he's tucking, too. It's the funniest thing I've ever seen. Four ball being played and won by the New York football giants. How about that Kobayashi downing 337 wings at the wing bowl? Jealous? Yes, I'm jealous. They got you by one wing. That's right. Say what you will about Kelly Clarkson. But I'm telling you, I thought that that chick did an incredible job. Nailed it. Nailed that. Kills. In terms of commercials, I'm with Woods. Woods, tell everybody what your favorite commercial was. Clint. Clint Eastwood doing a commercial for American automakers I thought was pretty moving. And it was really a message to kind of...
Get everybody united again as America. Teams are in their locker room discussing what they can do to win this game in the second half. It's halftime in America, too. People are out of work and they're hurting. They're all wondering what they're going to do to make a comeback. And we're all scared because this isn't a game. The people of Detroit know a little something about this. They almost lost everything. But we all pulled together. Now Motor City is fighting again. I've seen a lot of tough errors, a lot of downturns in my life, times when we didn't understand each other. It seems that we've lost our heart at times. The fog of division, discord, and blame made it hard to see what lies ahead. You know what I'm talking about when I say that, right? What's that, Clint? Those pansy-ass weenies that are in the tents with the Occupy crap. Can we...
Just stick to the script on this one now. A bunch of wees. Be that as it may, this is not what we're talking about. I held a gun at one point in World War II. Mr. Eastwood, we appreciate the stories. Legend. But if you could just not go off book right now. Who's the page girl? That's actually my boss. She's no page girl. Your boss? Yeah, her name's Kathy. The woman? Yeah, technically your boss now. She's paying your salary. I'm just trying to ad-lib here. Well, that's not what it's calling for. It's not really a role. It's a script. Yeah, that's a script. We kind of hammered it down. You don't want to edit it later? Nope. No, just go ahead. But after those trials, we all rallied around what was right and acted as one. I'll never forget one time in NAMM. There I was in some ditch. I'm going to cut. Viet Cong trying to cut off one of my big toes. Cut the recording. Did you talk to him beforehand? Yes, you're screaming at me, and yes, I did talk to him. I looked that guy right in the eye, and I said, you're lucky I don't cut your tongue off and wear it as a necklace. Mr. Eastwood, we have to give this studio up to The Price is Right after we finish shooting this. So if you could just keep this.
Just the script. I know you've done this a thousand times. I want to give you a couple takes so you have something to work with. I want you to feel like you... All right, but just no ad-libbing. I just got to keep it to what the script... Stick to what that says. It's been carefully correct. Because that's what we do. We find a way through tough times, and if we can't find a way, then we'll make one. Oh, boy. For God's sake. My grandfather wore a guy's skull around. Can someone get Bob Redford or Bob De Niro? On the phone. What are you talking about, Bob Redford, Bob De Niro? I can do this. We have backups. How he made the call back, I don't know. I don't either. I'm sorry, that was my fault. We're going to cut. You're still talking there, kid. Let's go ahead and cut that. Wait for us. I'm talking. You went before action. You ready? Five, four, three. How do we come together? And how do we win? Detroit's showing us it can be done.
And what's true about them is true about all of us. You know, one time I jumped out of PBR boat in the Doe Lung. I grabbed this little fella right around the neck. I said, let me tell you, you're lucky I don't snap your neck just to surf this beach. Go ahead. I think we have all that we need, in fact. We're good. We'll just cut it and maybe edit it and then we'll do a voiceover. We can find something that sounds like. Why don't you tell? The girl that works for you. I'm trying to do my job. I actually work for her. She's my boss. She's your boss. Yeah. This country can't be knocked out with one punch. We get right back up again, and when we do, the world's going to hear the roar of our engines. We're not like that quitter. Roberto Duran said no mas. Remember that time he quit? We're not rolling anymore, Mr. Eastwood. So you're just talking to... In a dark studio. Talking to yourself. It's like Mikey. Mikey's a Mexican. I'm going to lock up. Mexican fighters have a tradition of quitting. Let's go. You want to get a drink? They just quit. They say no must. Let's get a cocktail. Still eating kids like Mikey. Leave him here. Yeah. It's halftime America. And our second half's about to begin. We're upstairs now. We're in the green room. Get out. Get down here. Ladies and gentlemen, the lovely and talented Hillary is coming up next, and we will come back tomorrow morning.
At 5.30 and do it all over again, he shows up.
