With Mikey absent, Garrett hosts while Steve Woods turns Garrett's city-name-dropping into a remix and Mikey repeatedly calls in despite promising not to. Woods announces that Chelsea's induction has been moved up, meaning he and Jamie have less than three weeks to prepare for their adopted son's birth. The crew revisits Mikey's Super Bowl party through Kim's Frank's Red Hot prank, Hoyle Henratty's uninvited appearance and an argument over whether Mikey actually hosted from his custom couch. They also debate punishing a teenager for marijuana, advise a tattooed boyfriend about meeting hostile parents, hear Jay's story of catching a boy climbing through his daughter's window and argue about Facebook privacy after the Lovely Faces data scrape.
What happened, in order
Mikey Calls as Gary
Mikey breaks his promise not to call in by posing as meat processor Gary von Kiever and defending Christina Aguilera's much-criticized Super Bowl anthem.
The Garrett Remix
Steve Woods unveils a breathless remix built from Garrett's habit of name-dropping cities such as Philly, Detroit, Seattle and La Crosse.
Baby Woods Is Coming
Woods reveals that birth mother Chelsea's induction moved up ten days, leaving him and Jamie less than three weeks to prepare to bring home their son.
Caught Smoking Pot
An email about a 15-year-old caught smoking marijuana sparks an argument over taking her phone, removing her bedroom door and whether a first offense deserves the harshest punishment.
Frank's Red Hot Fallout
Woods thinks he has offended Jay's wife Kim by impersonating Jay's Frank's Red Hot ads, only for Kim to reveal that she deliberately played along to scare him.
Hoyle Crashes the Party
The crew reenacts an uninvited and apparently drunk Hoyle Henratty barging into Mikey's Super Bowl party and repeatedly mistaking nanny Claudia for Mikey's wife Rebecca.
The Couch-Bound Host
Mikey calls while the crew roasts him for staying planted on his custom couch and texting the installer when the outdoor television at his own party stopped working.
Luke Wants His Dad
A comic call from one-year-old Luke turns possessive as he demands his absent father, warns Garrett not to touch the microphone and asks why everyone hates Mikey.
Meeting Her Parents
The hosts advise a tattooed, pierced listener to meet his girlfriend's disapproving parents with confidence, respect, a gift and a clear show of love for their daughter.
The Window Intruder
Jay recalls chasing a teenage boy through his daughter's window in flame-print pajamas, pinning the terrified intruder and calling his mother to collect him.
Lovely Faces Privacy Fight
News that lovely-faces.com scraped 250,000 Facebook profiles leads Jay, Sienna and the crew to debate privacy, voyeurism, online dating and unwanted photo tagging.

I got to make sure it's working. You got to turn yourself up, too. Hold on. Am I here? There you are. Am I here? Did I just hit that? Kill it. Oh, it's a big finish. Big finish. 45, the Super Bowl. Ah! Justice. Yes. Karma. Justice. Justice? What? Oh, that's right. I forgot. You're a Pittsburgh fan. My husband is. He's fine. Which makes me one. You're required to love Pittsburgh? Yes. Is that part of the deal? Yes, pretty much. Those are the rules. It was an upsetting night in the Farrar house last night. I bet. Good morning and welcome to the Mikey Show. My name is not Mikey. My name is Garrett. Garrett. Garrett. Look, Garrett. Garrett. I've been waiting for two days to do that. Garrett. I'm 45 years old. I'm the program director of the radio station and I drew the short straw.
That's not true. I've been bugging Mikey to let me fill in. Seriously, I have. How does it feel to sit in the big boy chair? Well, the little boy. The toddler chair. I am honored, but shocked and amazed that he would allow me to use his microphone. I know. Because it's a special microphone. This might be the greatest microphone I've ever used in my life. I know. Everything sounds really nice and warm. It's very silky. Very silky, right? Yeah. Let's see. To my left is Sienna. Sienna is our news person, news girl. He always says news girl. It's a little bit offensive. 25? It's not offensive at all. It should be news person. News person. She's a mom. She's a Pittsburgh Steelers fan because the old man is. Yeah, but Charger's number one, always. Thank goodness. Right straight across me. Woodsy, Steve Woods. Hi. Our sports guy is 35 years old. He's about to become a brand new dad. I am. Pretty darn cool, dude. Very, very cool. Very exciting weekend. Very soon. Sooner than you may think, and we'll talk about that later. We'll tell you. It's like the NFL draft, man. You're on the clock. I am on the clock. I am on the clock, and we are making preparations for our new number one draft pick, Connor Patrick Woods out of Denver, Colorado. Baby Woods. Yeah.
Did you get the email about the plaid? Is that why you're wearing the plaid shirt? I got the email about the plaid, but this was already laid out for me to wear, so I just figured. Advanced planning. L.O.B., who is our assistant producer, is that officially your title? Yes, officially. She's like 30 years old, and she's wearing plaid today. And she's not a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. No, but my boyfriend is, so it's. by association. Wow. You have to root for them. Yep. She looks like a cowgirl. She does. She looks sharp. And that guy over there is our producer. That's Jay Isbell. Jay, of course, is like 107. Hello. Jasper had a birthday over the weekend, right? Jasper did on Friday. How old are you, Jasper? He's eight years old. Wow. Yeah. That's going by fast. Happy birthday, pal. I know. It was his birthday, so it works. Yeah, it works. It works. Did you celebrate real good? Oh, we did. We had a bunch of little boys sleep over, which was, wow. Oh, man. How many? Six. Oh. At eight years old? I really, what'd you make in the morning? Oh, I made.
It's funny because one of the little boys, the last time he spent the night was last year. And he said, are you going to make donut holes again? He remembered from a year ago. You made donut holes? I made donut holes. Wow. How do you do that? I want to sleep over at your house. Lots of oil. Oiled. Lots of oil. A lot of deep frying. Yeah, it is. Yeah, they're fantastic. Why don't you make us donut holes? Yeah. It's been a year. Do we really need a donut hole? On special occasions. Like Mondays. Hey, Mondays. Valentine's Day next Monday. Weekdays. Heart-shaped Valentine's Holes. You Southern guys, that's the amazing thing over there. You can deep fry anything. I can. You put some Frank's Red Hot on that. Some chili ribs. Let's not talk about that. You'll hear all about this. What's the matter with you? I made... We'll tell you later about Mikey's Super Bowl party, but I made a giant A of myself in front of somebody. Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life, son. Well, fat and stupid, yes. Was not drunk. Did not have a drink. Just an idiot. The word of the day, by the way, is Daisy. So at some point in time, you should hear that before 10 o'clock.
And you'll win a four-pack of SeaWorld fun cards. Good for admission all year. It's worth $280 and $50 gift card at proflowers.com. Yep. Because Valentine's Day is coming up, so you click on the mic and you enter Mikey Show for special discounts. Keep that in mind. The M1 Valentine's meet and greet. This Friday! Wow. Oh, my gosh. Oh, no. Get some. What, you forgot? No. No, I just remembered I have to sing on Friday. Gary, you don't know about this? What's with the singing? Okay, Jay's number one fear is to sing in public. We've never heard him do anything like that. He's never done karaoke. Makes my skin crawl. So we found out about this, and of course it made him do it. Of course we exploited it. Right, for no reason. At the meet and greet on Friday. And not only is he singing. He's singing a love song that we'll all be dancing to. With couples. Couples will be on the dance floor dancing. What are you singing, like Endless Love? I don't know. That's what I had in mind, but we're letting him pick. Or Up Where We Belong would be good. That would be real good. But you need a girl for that. You could do it. I guess I could do it. No, just J. You've got to be alone. Just J. You've got to be alone. That's the bet.
He looks really freaked out. You're the inspiration. Yeah. Hard habit to break. Chances he drinks 15 cocktails before he gets on stage. I better not. Actually, dude, you don't sing that bad. It's just that the fact that I don't sing bad. Yeah, I don't sing bad. I'm just singing alone in front of a group. I've actually been in bands where I was the backup singer for bands and stuff, but never alone. I never wanted to be the guy on the lead mic. You killed it at the anniversary bash when we were playing. You were doing background vocals. I was in background. Now we know. Obviously, you need to be there to support Jay. And it's this Friday at the East Village Tavern Bowl from 5 to 7. Support slash make fun of. Wait, I have a question, Jay. Is it 21 and up there? Yes. It is? Yeah. I think it is. If they're serving food, though. Yeah, well, it's a restaurant. We'll find that out. Yeah, we'll find out. Because someone emailed me and I wasn't sure. So it's 930 Market Street downtown, 5 to 7 this Friday at the East Village Tavern and Bowl. Hey, happy hour prices plus extra drink specials for singles that come out to mingle. They have really good food there. You're so mature. I know. I get away with a lot today. Get used to it, Garrett. Are you guys going to bowl? Yeah, I'm going to bowl. I love bowls. Absolutely.
I'm excited about it. You all bowl? Do you do that on a regular basis? I don't bowl, no, but I have bowled. Really? You don't slum it occasionally and go bowling? Slum it. I was on a bowling team one time. You have your own ball and shoes and stuff? No, no, no. They all match? No. Gucci. Yeah. That's exactly what I was thinking. I was going there. But I will bowl on Friday. So apparently Christina Aguilera hates America. That's what I hear. That is the word. What's up with that? I don't know what happened. I just, you know, was it quite possible that maybe she was so focused on the vocal gymnastics, the over-singing, which I've heard you beat up on. Oh, my gosh. I mean, it's like... Just sing it normally. I mean, I appreciate, you know, the fact that they want to extend their national anthem by three minutes by adding the extra singing and stuff. Give me a break. So, yes, Christina Aguilera sang the national anthem yesterday. And she tried at least. She messed up a couple of the lyrics. She said, let's see, the lyrics to the Star Spangled Banner, replacing or the ramparts we watched with what so proudly we watched. Oh, boy. Oh, you know, and you just, this is right here. This is a case for why. Because you've heard of like singers doing this in the past where they actually lip sync.
It looks like it. Right, yeah, and she didn't want to. She wanted to. You want to give her props for at least doing the real thing. I get it. But in that situation, a pressure situation, singing the national anthem at the Super Bowl, you might ought to want to get it right. Yeah. Maybe you rehearse. And maybe don't take it upon yourself to change the melody of it, too. It was so weird. That's always the problem with that over-singing thing. I'm going to beat on that all morning. The over-singing drives me crazy. Drives me nuts, too. Bless you. Bless you. I can't turn off my mic. So if I sneeze. No, I'm good. I'm good. Don't worry. You need Kleenex or something? No, I'm good. Nice beaver. You knew it was coming. Yeah, you did. You knew. Wow. So there you go. There's a great demonstration of the, I love my voice so much, I'm going to show off my range so much. That wasn't even the worst of it. I really wanted to see her walk out onto the stage because she had these huge heels on. And I wonder, how do you get through the grass? Your heels sink through. I had to carry her out. I'm sure they did. I would have volunteered for that.
I don't think so. I feel like her concert is the time to showcase that stuff. When you're brought in to do the national anthem, just do it. Give us an old, oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light. We get it. You have range. You can sing. You got range. You can do the, oh. See, I think, you know, as a goal next year, we should see if we get somebody from the Mikey show or the Mikey show to do the national anthem in the Padres game. Oh, I would do it in a heartbeat. And you probably wouldn't be going crazy and doing your thing? Yeah. No, I would be mortified and petrified, and I would just do it as fast as I could. All right, so hang on. Make sure I do this right. You're doing good, Garrett. So far, so good. Is this button right here? Sure. Wait, I got to hit the foam pot. It's got to be on, right? Right there, and then hit one. All right, I can't read this. Wait, okay, it's M1 Gary from Encinitas. You're on. Gary? I just wanted to defend Christina Aguilar. Mikey! This is Mikey! I did not know it was Mikey. I was like, who is this guy defending her? M1 Gary.
And I just wanted to defend Christina Aguilera because when she finished singing the national anthem, you clearly see that she was disappointed on her face. I thought she sang beautifully. Yes, she did mess up one word. And forgot a whole verse. Didn't she, Gary? Just because it's your cousin, Gary. My name is Gary. Von Kiever. Sounds German. Oh, great. I am a descendant of Dutch immigrants. I work as a meat processor in Escondida. And I was simply watching the game yesterday, saw Christina Aguilera mess up one word, and I knew. Were you watching it from your little throne? Kind of a throne couch?
I was watching it from my little throne. So, Gary, what's on the agenda today? Well, Woods, I will be packing meat and fats. This is Mikey. Oh, wow. How's Rebecca? She's fine. We haven't gone yet. She woke up late. She has a little minor surgery today. Yeah, she is getting sound waves blasting her little kidney stones. But about the Super Bowl, I thought that Christina Aguilera's voice sounded beautiful. It was so over the top. So over the top, dude. Come on. You know who doesn't forget the words? By the way, Garrett, I promised I wasn't going to call in. I promised I wasn't going to call in. I promised I wasn't going to call in. You made it five minutes. I made it five minutes.
He's been on hold pretty much for the show. But I thought that she sang it great. And this whole concept of over-singing, you realize that when she opens her mouth, that's what comes out. It doesn't have to. That's what she does. It doesn't come out like that. She has a beautiful voice, but the... That's her. Okay, question about the... Doesn't it sound, and I'd ask you to answer this honestly, but I'm sure that the cool response is obviously good. But I think it kind of sounds cool when she does her runs, dog. Sounds like her vocal cords are on a roller coaster. Yeah. Garrett calls it vocal gymnastics. I'll tell you, yeah, it is vocal gymnastics. And I'll also say that that roller coaster ride is one of the funnest. There is. It feels real good. Yeah, it does. I like the way that that music is made in my mouth. My wife just gave me a look and now the words, we got to go. It's a big roll, baby. Mike, were you okay when you heard us on the open? Did you get really skeeved out? I got skeeved because Trilola went on almost the entire length of the show. Oh, I knew it. I wonder why. I knew it. And I was like, oh, no, oh, no, oh, no, oh, no, oh, no, oh, no, oh, no. We had to do that to you.
Maybe Garrett's panicking trying to figure out how to turn microphones on. I'll tell you what, though. You guys sound great. And Garrett, you sound fantastic. And I'm glad that you're doing it, man. You sound awesome. Your microphone does amazing things for me. Thank you. You're welcome. Detroit! Now you guys get to hear what the wizard sounds like when there's no behind the curtain. Hi! Hey, guys. It's Mikey. Gary! Good luck, Rebecca. Bye, guys. Bye, guys. All right. Call again. Jay! He stays silent the whole phone conversation and plays that. Wow. Wow. Brilliant. Pack and meat. Pack and meat. Pack and meat. Who knew? That's Gary the Meat Packer. So the Super Bowl was a train wreck, though, besides the game. They had all kinds of gnarly stuff going on. That's my hometown. And I felt... I was like, well. Responsible? I kind of felt responsible. Yeah, I kept being like, I don't know who to blame more, Jerry Jones or Woods? Yeah, I felt like it was an indictment on my hometown. And, you know, the guy had three years to get ready for this thing. He can't control the weather. I agree. I totally agree. Come on. But, you know, okay.
They had some ice that almost killed about seven people the other day that fell off the roof, seriously injured a couple of them. Workers that were setting up? Yeah. And they had 400 people with tickets, came, flew in, got to Dallas, braved the ice and the weather, got to the stadium, and they said, sorry, you can't come in. Sorry. What do you do? What do you do? You offer them like a refund? They offered them a triple refund. These were $800 tickets. They're offering them $2,400. And the fans, they all said, we don't want $2,400. They had to watch the games from monitors in the stadium. And they said, hey, guys, sorry. Nothing we can do. The seats weren't ready yet. How does that happen? I don't know. 400 seats. 400 people. That's nuts. Yeah. So it was, you know, besides the snafu on the national anthem, the ice almost killing people, 400 people being turned away. And the black eyed peas. And then the black eyed peas to cap it off.
Kind of a turd. Now, the only redeeming quality was the actual game was phenomenal. It was a hell of a game. It was a hell of a game. Well, there was a lot of injuries, too. So what was up with the turd? Well, you know, I've been on that field, L.O.B. It was telling Mike last night, it's a soft field. So I don't know. It was just a hard-hitting game, I think. Black-eyed peas, man. They were garbage. When Usher came out with his all-white dance crew. That was a pretty exciting move, though. I mean, come on. I left after that. I was like, yeah, I'm done. I fell asleep, weird, during the halftime show, and I woke up to that part, and I was like, that's pretty cool, and then went back to sleep. Of course you did. I was doing a bit. I was doing a bit with Mike, so I missed it and had to re-listen to it this morning. I did not like it. Well, there was actually a football game last night, too. But you were doing a bit. Yeah, we were doing a bit. It was a great game. The game was phenomenal. Stairway to what? What? Stop it! Stairway to six, not seven, right?
Six. Stop. That's what the Steelers fans say because it would have been their seventh Super Bowl win. I heard it for six weeks. Well, you know what? You stop it. Listen. Suck it. Not a Green Bay Packers fan, not a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, but if I have to pick one of the two teams, I'm a happy one. I'm glad Green Bay won just because I think Ben Roethlisberger being able to host or hoist the Lombardi Trophy. Again. After the year he had and stuff. It'd be like the terrorist winning. It is. You know, you want to root for kind of like an underdog, I guess. But I'm still a Steeler fan. Yeah. Still disappointing. Well, I'm happy for the Green Bay Packers. Me too. I'm happy for them. Aaron Rodgers and Aaron Rodgers got to be the MVP. And they had a great game and they'd bring the trophy on home. So, Woods, are you going to tell us what this surprise is? Oh, yeah. I'm going to, when we come back. I'm going to surprise you. He's been saying, I have this surprise. I have this surprise. I'm like, what is it? I created a little something for you, my friend, to welcome you. No, I didn't cook. No, no. I created something for you on your first day on the Mikey Show, Garrett. In the Beat Lab. In the Beat Lab? In the Beat Lab. Oh, no. Is this the Mikey Beat Lab? Yep. In the home? And you'll hear it when we come back. All right, welcome back to the Mikey Show. But I'm not Mikey. You're Garrett. I'm Garrett. Actually, it's kind of fun.
Like me doing you doing me. Yes. Well, you imitating me imitating you. Get a room. You know I'm going to come over there? Yeah, I know you are. Kick your butt. All right. Savannah, screw something up here. We'll just push a button. I'm ready. So the word of the day is... Daisy. Okay, so if I say... You can say it now. Yeah, if you use it in another sentence. Yes, it wasn't... When I said it, it didn't count. All right. So the word of the day is Daisy, and when you hear it being used sort of randomly. In a sentence. In a sentence. Not by me. At some point between now and 10 a.m., you'll win a four-pack of SeaWorld Fun Cards, good for admission all year, worth $280, and a $50 gift card at proflowers.com. Valentine's Day is coming up. Click on the mic and enter Mikey's Show for special discounts.
There's window mushrooms outside. There's guys rappelling down the side of the building. Woods is waving like a little kid. What is Woods doing? Oh, gosh. Don't scare him. Don't freak him out. He can't see you. He can't? He's not interested in you. He's got a reflection. Why is he cleaning the windows right now? I don't know. Oh, he just went down. That's good. That's what they do. We're on the seventh floor. They rappel down the side of the building. That's what they do. Ever clean a window at 6.30 in the morning? Yeah. You know. The earlier, the better. The earlier, the better. All right, so let's talk a little bit about the Super Bowl because we got so wrapped up and beaten up on Christina Aguilera. Yeah, we'll get to Woodsy's surprise in a second. Yes. So who won the Super Bowl there, Woodsy? Well, the Packers pulled out in an unbelievable victory, 31-25. Dude, you know, they came out real hot. Big Ben threw a pick six, which is just...
And, you know, the Packers looked like they were running away with it. But, you know, the Steelers can never be counted out. With that defense, with the Roethlisberger, you know, say what you want. The guy's a bear. You know, he's an absolute bear and he knows how to win. He's got two rings already. And, you know, he did throw. They had three turnovers. He threw two picks and still had a chance with two minutes left in the game. And they still had a chance. Six-point game. Six-point game. And, you know, it says a lot. for me about the Packers organization. They lost Charles Woodson, who was just there. It's like Palomalu going out. You're just bummed. You're bummed. The Steelers made the Packers into a one-dimensional team. Still couldn't win. They couldn't run the ball. And when you can't run the ball at all, they rush for 50 yards the whole game. You turn them into a one-dimensional team, they lose some players, and you still lose. But that last drive, that last drive, they were running the ball pretty good. And, man, that laser that Aaron Rodgers threw to Greg Jennings was just like, you know, a backbreaker. You know, and think about how many drops the Packers receivers had. I mean, they dropped. They were balls hitting them right in the numbers. It was brutal. But, man, you know, hats off to Aaron Rodgers. He's a good dude. He's 27 years old. He had to replace Brett Favre. And, man, that guy's a Super Bowl MVP today, and he brought the Lombardi Trophy home to Green Bay.
You know, you got to tip your cap, love them or hate them. How crazy are they going to Green Bay today? I was thinking about this morning. Do you think anybody's working today? There's no way. They're still drunk. They're still drunk. Yeah. They're whooping it up. Me too. So you guys watch any commercials? Well, you know, that's part of the reason you watch the Super Bowl is for the commercials. Do you guys really like the commercials? I don't know if it was the girls. I watched like five. I saw like five. I watched all of them. We were leaving Mikey's house and we had just gone into commercials. Kim says, let's wait until the commercials are over. I said, but then we'll... I thought it was all about the game. But see, Jay doesn't like the game either. I like it more than I like the commercials. Well, there was one commercial by Groupon and there is... Quite the stir over this commercial. Now, is this guy a big actor? He was. Timothy Hutton. Timothy Hutton. He was. Yeah, I didn't know who he was. You weren't born yet. That's probably why. Well, he was in the commercial for Groupon, and it's an ad featuring Tibetans at a Chicago-area Himalayan restaurant.
People in China are not happy about this commercial. We'll play it for you and see what you think. I mean, this is all over CNN right now. And right now, Groupon's trying to get going in China and spreading their wings to other countries and stuff. And now everyone in China's like, well, screw this company. Well, they made it look like it was going to be some sort of support the Tibetan public service announcement. Well, it's because Timothy Hutton, he attaches himself to causes and things like that. So they probably thought it was going to be serious. We're going to make this work now. There we go. Mountainous Tibet. One of the most beautiful places in the world. This is Timothy Hutton. The people of Tibet are in trouble. Their very culture is in jeopardy. But they still whip up an amazing fish curry. And since 200 of us bought at Groupon.com, we're each getting $30 worth of Tibetan food for just $15 at Himalayan Restaurant in Chicago. Save the money. Unlock great deals in your town. Groupon.com. So who's twisted up about that? Everyone in China. Everyone. Wow, that's a lot of people. That's a lot of angry Chinese people. No, there's a user at Yagabu on Sinao Weibo. Yes. Isolate. Isolate. That quote said Groupon is doomed to failure now in China. Wow. Doomed to failure in China. Yes.
So anyway, that's one of the other things. Super Bowl went wrong. Maybe they lighten up a little bit. So I will have to say this. As a company, though, I think Doritos probably had the best commercials. I mean, just every one of them. They had some good ones. I mean, everything from like the grandfather coming back to life. Oh, that was great. Let me play this. This is good. Hey, dude, feed the fish, water the plant. I'll see you next Thursday. Welcome back on this beautiful Thursday morning. Next up, the segment. Okay, now he's like scrambling to clean the house. The fish is dead. Sprinkling Doritos to get it back to life. The plant is dead. Sprinkles Doritos to bring the plant to life. Uh-oh. Knocks over the urn with all the ashes. Comes back. Who's on the couch? Sprinkles Doritos on the ashes and brings the grandpa back to life. There was a couple of commercials with Eminem, though. Oh, yeah. Yeah, what was up with that? Every single one got my attention. Yeah, me too. Really? Of course. Eminem. Eminem. You hear his voice, and you're like, what? Why? He's just a badass. He's a badass. That's why. I was looking. I'm like, why do I think you're hot? Because you're not, but you are. He's not real sharp, but he's cool, dude. He's a bad boy. He's angry. Well, I will say this. I have not lived in Detroit for almost 11 years, right? Uh-huh.
We lived there. We were not like typical folks who live out in the suburbs. We lived in the city because my wife and I both worked in the city. So a lot of the sites that they were showing, you know it. Everything from the Joe Louis fist to the Spirit of Detroit statue in front of City Hall. The Spirit of what? The Spirit of Detroit. Detroit. Detroit. So I'll play a little of this, but even the way this is done, and you said it, man, you could use this music behind anything. Yep. And it's so powerful. It's just kind of anthemic. But, man, watching this and watching the footage, and the guy who did the voiceover for that, I don't know who the hell he is, but he's great. Yeah, we looked at some guy from Grand Rapids or something. There you go. How appropriate. I got a question for you. What does this city know about luxury? What does a town that's been to hell and back know about the finer things in life? Well, I'll tell you, more than most. It's the hottest fires that make the hardest steel. Shout out to Joe Louis Fist. Add hard work and conviction and the know-how that runs generations deep in every last one of us. Music kicks in. That's who we are. Everybody in here is bobbing their heads. So good. About to kick some ass. No, it's probably not the one you've been reading in papers. Scenery flying by. The one being written by folks who've never even been here and don't know what we're capable of.
People walk in the streets. Because when it comes to luxury, it's as much about where it's from as who it's for. Now, we're from America, but this isn't New York City. Or the Windy City. Or Sin City. And we're certainly no one's Emerald City. So Eminem walks into the Fox Theater in Detroit. Detroit. There's a choir singing. And you know, it was funny when I saw this. I had no idea what it was for. I thought it was like a tourism spot. That's what it seemed like. But no. Wait. This is what we do. Not so sure I want to drive a Chrysler. I want a Chrysler now. Eminem sold that car. He sold it real well. See, I kind of want to go back and go on vacation to Detroit. That's what I want to do. But it's a really bad time of year to go. Yeah, I would think so. Speaking of Detroit, that's a great segue.
into my little surprise that I cooked up for you, and it's right there, and I hope that you enjoy it. Oh, boy. We don't know what this is. So what, I guess you're going to hit that? Just hit that. Hit it. Turn it up. Oh, my gosh. Get ready. Oh, my gosh. Gary, Gary, Gary, Gary, Philly, Gary, Gary, Philly, Detroit, lacrosse, Philly, Tommy, Philly, Tommy, Philly, Gary, Gary, Gary, downtown, Tommy, Philly. Big finish. Bingo, my friend. Brutal. I recorded it for what was in there. He was so out of breath. I thought you did that in numerous takes. No. One take. That's impressive. You're immensely talented. Thank you very much. I got done. I was almost passed out. I was lightheaded. Well, we bricked on the first one. And I had to redo it. I was like, he did it.
I think Tommy, our afternoon drive DJ, is going to want a copy. A hundred percent. Let me explain. When we started on the station and Garrett was obviously our program director, we noticed a pattern with Garrett when he would talk and he would say, Philly. But, you know, back in Philly. Back in Philly. Back in Seattle. And Tommy, Tommy, our afternoon DJ, fired him, hired him, fired him, hired him. Several cities. For the record, I've never fired Tommy. Ever. Hired him. I've hired him. You've hired him. Three, four. Four times. He's left on his own accord. Yes. I don't know what's sadder, the fact that I dropped those places, or just as a great demonstration of what a gypsy I am and where I've lived. Well, I was driving to work one morning, about two months ago, and I was listening to that song, and I just started doing it out loud. And you've been waiting. And I was. Dying laughing. So I told Mikey's wife, Rebecca, about it in the car one time. Just the two of you? Yeah, just the two of us. We were driving around and I go, I have this idea. And Mikey was like, well, let's hear it. So I did it. Rebecca had snot coming out of her nose. She was laughing so hard. She was like, that's the greatest thing. She's like, you have to do it. You have to do it. So I was waiting for the right time. And obviously this morning is the right time. All right. Well, you know, I'm honored.
You're welcome. It was good. You do it really well. Thank you. You have such soul and rhythm. Thank you. That was amazing. We'll listen to it again. Oh, 100%. We've got to take this. M1 Cave Dweller calling from Wisconsin. Oh, yeah. Wisconsin. Cave Dweller, are you there? Garrett. It's Garrett live in the studio. Good morning. He's feeling real good. Where at in Wisconsin are you, man? I'm in La Crosse. La Crosse. Are you really in La Crosse? Yeah. Dude, I used to work at La Crosse. Back at La Crosse. Where at? WLXR. You know that. Oh, nice. Hit 105. Garrett just hit his arms completely. Extended outward with excitement. So is everybody still drunk there? The streets are surprisingly devoid of traffic. Wow. Weaving all over the place. No, it's...
Too bad, but I wanted to call and let you guys know that Green Bay, which is surprisingly close to Detroit, actually has a half day off of school today. That's awesome, dude. That's awesome. Maybe the Chargers are going to the Super Bowl. All the schools in the town are just like, ah, the teachers aren't going to be at any time. Yeah. They just come the whole day off. No kidding. They come on, half day? Was that announced on Friday, or was it only if they won, then they get a half day? I think it was just kind of, you know, if Green Bay wins the Super Bowl, everybody, you know, you get a half day off of school. Wow, that's rad. Hey, Cave Dwellers, the G. Heileman Brewing Company, La Crosse, Wisconsin, still there? Is the giant six-pack still out there on the highway? Yeah, the world's largest six-pack is here. Giant six-pack of old style. Bigger than the situations? Yep. Come on, guys. I got it. No way. Wow. It's amazing. I haven't been there in 20 years, and it's still there. Oh, yeah. Dude, thanks for calling. Appreciate it. Congratulations, brother. Party on. See you. Lauren's thinking about the situation from the Jersey Shore. He's got a six-pack, but I'm... I miss that. See, because when I hear a six-pack, all I think about is beer. Old style. Old style. Old pile. We used to call it old pile. Yeah. That's like a famous beer.
All right, so I'm trying to go down the list here and make sure I don't screw this up. You're doing good. All right, so we got the – oh, let me grab this. Oh, yes, Woods. So apparently I'm looking at your recap email. We're talking about – there's a couple things on there. A couple? Yeah, right now we're talking about the announcement that Chelsea told you. My birth mother. Yeah. Yeah, we had a big weekend. We had a – finally our – We started the process of the home visits. We had the social worker over. She was over for about four hours on Friday. Came back 10 a.m. on Saturday. What did you do with the dogs? The dogs were upstairs and in my office with my dad. That's all I'll say about that. Five dogs in one room. And so she was interviewing us and we got a text from Chelsea. Chelsea's our birth mother. She's in Colorado. They've moved up her inducement date by 10 days. Whoa. So 10 days. We were like. Dude, it's on. It's February 27th. Oh. Three weeks from yesterday. Yeah. Less than three weeks. Three weeks. Oh, my gosh. Yeah. Now, we said you're on the clock. You weren't kidding. Wow. We are on the clock. That's like any day. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. So Jamie and I are. Wow. Wow.
We need to get our tickets. We need to get the trip planned. And we need to get out there. And we'll be flying home with our baby boy in about a month from yesterday. Does this seem real at all? No. It seems like a dream. It doesn't. And, you know, it's just a weird thing. We're so excited. But, you know, we're getting texts from Chelsea every day that are like, hey, you know, I got one on Friday. you, Stephen, to come in and cut the cord. Oh my God, the umbilical cord. The umbilical cord. Big deal, big deal. So that is just, I mean, listen, I'm kind of a skeeve about stuff like that, but like, yeah, I'm going to do it. I'm going to do it. I may pass out, but I may not. Trust me, you know what? If what leads up to that doesn't make you pass out. Yeah. I won't be in there for that. He won't be in the room. He'll get called in only for that. And things will be covered up. I would like to be blindfolded and handed scissors and then I just do my thing. Yeah, that seems like a bad plan. Blindfolded with scissors. And don't run with it. Cut a nipple off or something. Oh, my God. You're going to be great. I just, I can't imagine. You're going to be outside of a room and then you're going to walk in and there's going to be a baby in there. That's my son in there. I can't wait. I just got goosebumps saying that. I can't wait. Dude.
I'm so happy for you guys. Thank you. We're ecstatic. And my wife has a new addiction, and it is buying baby clothes. And every day I come home, there's 15 outfits. I'm like, okay. She got one yesterday that says, my dad thinks I'm rad. That's awesome. Do you have all the stuff in the nursery? Yeah, everything's up there. The crib is being delivered this Friday and being put together. Oh, my gosh. You put that together yourself? No, it's being delivered and put together. Wow. That's good. That's a good idea. You want to get that done early. Oh, my gosh. Don't wait until the last minute. I will not. I'm so excited. I have experience with that. Your crib fell apart? Our first son showed up three weeks early. Oh, yeah. And the crib was not even picked up yet. So the next day after our first son was born, I had to run out to Babies R Us because we'd ordered the crib, had to pick it up, bring it home, assemble it, hadn't had any sleep. Oh, my gosh. And have it ready to go so I could bring my wife and son home. It took eight weeks just for our crib to be delivered. Because it takes a long time. You're lucky. Well, we had it ordered. But, you know, it's like, oh, we've got all the time in the world. It's like three weeks away from the duty. Well, Sina's was made out of solid gold and diamonds. That's true. It had to be imported. My jeweler did it. Emblazoned with the family crest and stuff. Yeah, well, of course. And then the diamonds fell out, so then she had to put it.
We had to get fixed. What's the deal with the dog, by the way, and your friend? Oh, my gosh. So I'm on the phone with one of my friends over the weekend, and she's telling me something. And at first I kind of laughed because I thought she was joking, but it turns out she was serious. She is married, and she thinks that her husband loves the dog more than her. What kind of dog is it? Is her name Woods? Yeah. Really? She has a lab. Oh, of course. It's quite possible. Labs are generally more lovable than human beings. No, not your wife. Okay, but here's an example. And she said, this put me over the edge. And I freaked out and finally said something. I always kind of thought it. But when we were going to get some lunch, they brought the dog. And he said, no, let the dog sit in the front and you get the back. Oh, my gosh. What? That's what I learned. She was being serious. He wasn't kidding. He was not kidding around. She said, oh, really? And he was like, yeah, come on. Just let the dog go in the front. He likes it. He likes being out the window. Oh, my God. You know, just let him out there. And so she's like, you're an idiot. And she got back. She did? It wasn't. They weren't going far. So she finally, you know, she was just kind of like, okay, whatever. That's fine. But. That's probably a good idea. He was probably, you know, thinking safety first. Because, look, if the dog loves him so much and the dog's in the back seat and he's driving and stuff, the dog's going to stick his head up in his ear and lick his ear and stuff. Dogs can be trained.
Really? Dodge is supposed to be in kettles. Soaking wives. Fair enough. James. I loved it. Wow. It's like laser beams just shot out of both their eyes, man. Oh, yeah. We usually just ignore him. Or play the cricket sound effect. Or play the cricket sound effect. If this were a science fiction movie, you'd be a pile of dust. Soaking wives. Soaking wives. You can train your wife real good. Train your wife. Teach you how to do that real good. Put a collar on her and walk her like a dog. Wow. That is just, you know, you're so inappropriate sometimes. Yeah. And now I'm seeing the action. It's unbelievable. Ooh. Woodsy picking good tunes today, man. Thank you. So any idea how much advertisers paid to get a 30-second commercial during the Super Bowl? Oh, so much. One million dollars. No. Sienna will tell us next. Also, name that tune. Oh, yeah. We're going to play Name That Tune.
So call in 570-1949. Pick a horse. Garrett, myself, Lauren, or Wood. That's right. Oh. In an email about somebody catching a kid smoking some weed. Oh, no. Jay. Jay. All right. It's the Mikey Show at FM 94.9. Welcome back to the Mikey Show. Mikey is taking a personal day today. Let's just say that. I'm your host, Garrett. Thanks for checking in. Well, Garrett. Gareth. Sienna, what's going on in the news? Well, Comic-Con tried again to get the tickets sold on the website over the weekend. 9 a.m. on Saturday at TicketLeap.com. Yeah, the website overloaded. Oh, my God! The third time! The third time. I guess some tickets... Nerds revolt! Yes!
Some tickets were sold, but people were freaking out, sending them messages. What's going on? And they just said, just keep trying. Just keep trying. Use the force, Luke. Oh, my gosh. Right now, they only have one day passes left. The four days are pretty much sold out. Also, scary. Not scary. Well, kind of scary. Sad. $50,000 of jewelry. That would be scary for me. It was stolen from a Del Mar jeweler, Loman's Jewelers, over the weekend. A jewelry thief actually cut through the wall. There was an empty... space available next door, broke into that space, then cut through the wall to get into the jewelry store. That's a good move. Oh, my gosh. Wow. That's hardcore. That is somebody who is very, very motivated. Tunneled into Lomans Jewelers and got over $50,000 worth of jewelry. Now, depending on the kind of jewelry, though, that might not be very much stuff. No. Right? That's true. Maybe just a couple of really nice diamonds. Yeah. Maybe even one really nice one. Wow. Woodsy Sports, what's going on? Oh, well, Sports Day is brought to you. A little game last night? Oh, yeah, a little game last night. Sports Day is brought to you by Frank's Red Hot. Get some. Get some. Aaron Rodgers played his butt off last night and in the face of a lot of adversity and lost a lot of weapons. He actually, I think, one of the receivers on there, Swain, has a very strong resemblance to Don Dockin. You'll know what I'm talking about, Garrett.
He was 24-39 for 304 yards, three touchdowns, and no picks. Here he is after the game talking about it. A lot of new guys this season stepped up, played big roles. You know, we lost a lot of guys to injury. I mean, this is the sweetest feeling. Just so satisfying knowing that we not only accomplished our goals, but did it with a bunch of high-character guys. Guys like Charles Woodson, team leaders, guys like Donald Driver, guys who stepped in off the street. It's just an incredible group of men that was put together this year. Yeah. They got a good team. And, you know, he's 27 years old, and they keep this team together for a while, and big things could happen for them. And also one of LLB's boys, Michael Vick, was the AP Comeback Player of the Year in a landslide vote. So, you know, in the 12-year history of this honor, no player has ever returned from jail to actually earn that. And so he has that to hang his hat on. Wow. Or his leash. It doesn't make any sense because he's not allowed to have dogs anymore. That's true. Or ever again. They might like to wear a leash on the weekends. That's true. Who doesn't? I knew that was coming.
Coming up Friday is the M1 Valentine's Day meet and greet. That'd be February 11th this Friday at the East Village Tavern and Bowl, which is at 930 Market Street downtown. It's going to go from 5 to 7. Yes, love that place. Happy hour prices, plus extra drink specials for singles that come out to mingle, plus there'll be some tickets and prizes and stuff to raffle. So guys, no, Valentine's Day is coming on. Yes, it'll get the flowers. I'm always curious about this because... I think a consensus for a lot of guys is giving roses. Weak. Weak. It's weak. It's weak. My wife loves tulips. There you go. Mine too. Tulips are just, you know. I like gardenias. Where does she like them? Gardenias? Yeah. I like the Gerber daisy. The what kind of daisy? The Gerber daisy. I thought it was Gerbera. It's Gerbera. Wait. Gerbera. Gerbera daisy. Is there a horticulturist out there who can tell us how you pronounce it? Probably. Gerber daisy. It's Cabrera. Cabrera. Yeah, the no actually people. No, actually it is. Even if I've been saying it for so long, even if it's the wrong way, I'll probably keep saying it. Those are great. We plant those in the backyard. Yeah, they're beautiful. They grow very well here, and they grow almost year-round. Yep, daisies are awesome, especially those kind. Yeah. Gorgeous. You guys ever just like to say the word as we're also playing a game so the phone lines are already packed? Why don't you just get the lines open? Yeah, let's do both things at the same time.
Hey, I'm just a villain guy. Bust my chops all you want. It's not my fault. So you guys want to know how much advertisers pay to have a 30-second commercial air during the Super Bowl? I'm dying to know. Any guesses? $3 million. Did you read the story? No. It's $3 million. For a 30? For a 30-second commercial. $3 million! That's insane. Wow. That would explain why so many commercials were not good because they did not put their money into the production value. Yes. True. They paid to have it on the air. You know what, though? The thing is, every one of those guys are kind of hoping you get a little bit extra because think about this. You do a commercial on the Super Bowl. Everybody's going to talk about it. Then they'll put them online. You get the post from the Super Bowl with the YouTube stuff and all that. So I suppose you probably get a little extra bang for your buck. That's probably why it was so much more because of all the social media and everything. We have. Oh, wait. Hang on. Name that tune. We got to do name that tune. Yeah. First, do we need to congratulate this person? Yeah, let's do it. That would be, hold on, hit that one. Line six. Would this be M1 Lisa? Yes. What was the word of the day? Daisy. That a girl. Nice job. Congratulations. Before you can claim your prize, you have to give us a Garrett. Garrett. Wow.
Do it better than I do. That's good. Does she? Lisa, M1 Lisa's from Lakeside. You got a four-pack of tickets for SeaWorld. They're a four-pack of SeaWorld fun cards. Good for admission all year round. It's worth $280. And a $50 gift card at proflowers.com because Valentine's Day is coming up. So congrats. Thank you. Thank you for listening. Everyone's standing up, Garrett, because they're getting ready for the game. Everybody's, like, limbering up. Name that tune. We get very competitive. It's very tense. All right, so we're going to play Name That Tune. Pick a horse. All right, so somebody help me out here and recap this. How do we play this? Okay, well, basically, Jay's going to give us sound effects, and you have to say, Garrett, if you know the answer, and then say what the answer is, and whoever's the first to say the answer. Oh, so we say our names to, like, say that we got it. Right. And I call on you. And then I call on you. Jay calls on you. So first go to the phone lines and see who everyone's picking. All right. M1 Chris in San Diego. Who are you picking, Chris? L.O.B. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Champ. Really? Chris has got L.O.B. She's on a streak. Fake champ. Fake champ. All right, M1 Chris. Hang on. All right. Haters going to hate. Yeah, they are. M1 Meter Reader in Osherside. Who are you taking? Oh, I want Gary.
Garrett. Garrett. Garrett. You're going to do great. Wise choice. Maybe not. All right. Hang on. Hang on. Don't move. M1 Gene in Mission Valley. Gene, who are you taking? Yeah. Kid gets picked last. Unbelievable. All right. Hang on the line. We'll be right back. You ever get the most ones right and still lose? And line four. M1 Alley in Vista. Who are you taking? I am gladly picking wood. That a girl. There you go. Leftovers. Leftovers. Sloppy fourth. Like you had a choice there. All right, I'm going to put you on hold. We'll be right back, okay? Today's prize is going to be a pair of tickets to the Monster Energy AMA Supercross. Nice. February 19th at Qualcomm Stadium. I keep scoring, Garrett. That's really good. Qualcomm Stadium. What's the category today, pal? What's the theme? Today's thing is... Losers. Losers? Like the Steelers, you mean? Yeah. Oh, I was just saying, there's a winner and a loser. So it's really about winning and losing, but somebody lost somebody that really wanted to win. What? It's all about losing. It's all about losing. Here we go. Are we ready? Yeah. Woods. Queen. Another one bites the dust. Wait, so you can do artist or artist? Yes. Oh, well, that's...
All right. So remember, say Garrett. I forgot how to play. I was like, what? I was frozen. I'm like, wait a minute. How do I do this? Okay. All right. Okay. Here we go. Woods. Back. I'm going to take you out. Let's see it. Here we go. Lauren. DMX. Nice. Weird. I love you got that one. Woods 2, Lauren 1. Oh, wow. That one's wrong. I don't know what that is. Woods. Garrett. Woods. Sting. That was Gary. That was me. You know that. All right. You going to bark all day, little dog? You going to bite? Wow. Here we go. Woods. Garrett. Outfield. Yes. Very good. Wow. Nice. Wow. Why is that loser? I don't want to lose your love. Here we go. Woods. Sienna. I think it was Lauren. Was it? Eminem. It was me. Quit crying. Closed like a fireman.
Woods, three. Lauren, two. Garrett, one. Sierra, zero. Here we go. Woods. That's Steely Dan. Stop thrusting. All right. You know what? I do not want to see pelvic thrusts, okay? Welcome to our world. Here we go. Woods. Tony Bennett? No, sorry. I know who it is. Garrett. Go ahead, Garrett. Frank Sinatra. Garrett! And LLB are tied with two. Woods has three. All right. Here we go. What? Fleetwood Mac. Feast. How many more, Jay? You're so humble. You're so humble. We have two remaining. Two pointers. Two pointers. Here we roll. These ones are worth two points. Here we go. Garrett. Come on, Garrett. Three, two, one. Out. Lose two points. I lost two points. Ready? A little bit more. Lauren.
Go ahead. Not even close. I know it is. Nobody? Nope. ABBA. Oh, nice. You know what I was struggling with? I couldn't decide if it was actually ABBA or it was one of the ABBA chicks solo. So the score is now... You're overthinking it, Garrett. You're overthinking it. You're overthinking it. The score is now Woods 4, all the rest of us 0. So this is a five-pointer. 36 points. 36 points. Son of a bitch. Here we go. What? Queen. Suck it. Suck it. What? What? He's pelvic twisting like a madman. Yes, he's back! How was he first? I'm back. I'm back. Can we like... You can't argue with the guy that's in charge. Woods, nine, all of us, zero. Yeah! I'm trying to find any kind of... Killing me. We like Woods the least during these games. Why? Killing me. I get hosed. I have no congratulation music here, Woods. That's okay. What? That would be M1 Alley. M1 Alley, you there? Yes, I am. Congratulations. That's some. Yeah, she got some. What did she win? She won the Supercross.
No, Monster Energy AMA Supercross tickets to February 19th at Qualcomm Stadium. Sweet. Thank you so much. Oh, you are welcome. It was my pleasure. Certainly enjoyed that win. Sure did. I wish we could have videotaped his performance live for you so you could just see how obnoxious he is. It is unbelievable. I get hosed every week. Do you? Don't I? Hey, what's Woods got? Well, this is a non-pointer thing. He does it for everyone, not just you. Does he ever complain? Yes. All right, Allie, congratulations. Thanks for listening. Thank you. All right. You are so obnoxious, dude. I cannot take it anymore. I cannot take it. You got two more hours, so three more hours. I don't know how you guys put up with that. Well, you know, you just ignore him. It's real good when he's like the kid and he references himself like that. Yeah, because you know what? I don't get to see that kind of behavior. You just hear it. After hours. I hear it, but I don't have to visualize it. Oh, yeah. Just absolutely brutal. It's a nice little treat. Yeah. I think someone's trying to call in right now. Wait, someone's trying to call in? Uh-huh. Line two, maybe? Line two. Line two's ringing? I'm giving a look from our phone screener. Line two. Hang on. Hang on. Hi, Mikey Show. Hey, good boy. Dude. It's me, Dad. It's Gavin. Dude.
What's up? Aren't you supposed to be on your way to school? Yeah, I ditched. Wait, this is your son Gavin, Garrett? This is my 11-year-old son Gavin. He sounds just like you. Good morning. Seriously, dude, why are you calling? What's going on? You know, I can't find my Mumford and Sons t-shirt. My mom had done something with it, and I'm not wearing cagey elephant again. I'm going to get beat up. Why would you get beat up? Well, I wear it four days a week. Garrett, maybe you buy him some new clothes. No, this is funny because you know you're supposed to wear the school uniform. Oh. Well, you know. What is it, free dress day? It's free dress day. I got to have my Mumford and Sons, and I don't know where the hell it is, and Mom did something with it, and I can't find it. Why don't you try the Black Keys t-shirt? You know, I would. I would, but I got a hole in it. I was playing with Jeffy, and he ripped it. Oh. So I need you to bring me home, you know, some more radio giveaway shirts. Gavin, where was the last road trip you guys went as a family? Seattle.
Oh, what about before that? Detroit. Before that. La Crosse. Any other road trips we should know about? We went to, gosh, where we go? We went to Philly once. That was a good one. You were car sick. I went car sick a few times. Spewed everywhere. We should have had that cheesesteak. Were you filling in there or what? What? You filling in? Yeah, I'm filling in. How's it go? Gosh, you sound so much like you. It's going okay. Yeah, buddy, what's up? You've been doing this a long time. You've been doing radio, what, 29 years? Something like that. Long before you came around. Well before I came around. Gavin, do you think you're going to do some radio? I don't know. I'm not too sure. I play guitar, and I'd really like to focus on that for now. For now? Yeah. But hey, when you come home, I need you to bring me a couple of things. What's that, dude? I need some tickets to the Black Keys.
Okay. Strange since we're not coming to town. I need the KG Elephant autographed guitar. Yeah. And I need you to go ahead and pick me up a new Mumford & Sons t-shirt. All right. You all right? Anything else? You all right? What time do you get off? Oh, wow. We'll get to it. The show gets done at 10, and I'll probably work until like 7, 7.30 tonight. You're going to work? Boy, like half day. That's a half day? No, no, no. It's a long day. Good Lord. How long is your day, pal? I lose track. I'm going to get an elephant shirt on again. I'll wear it for the 15th day in a row. I'll see you when you get home. It was really nice talking to you, Gavin. Hey, dude, thanks for calling. Hey, my pleasure. Have a great show, Dad. He's so polite. Yeah. Yes, manners, you know. He's got manners. He's going to a class on etiquette. Gavin should babysit Mike's little boy, Luke. I'm just going to try to straighten him out.
It's amazing how, you know, they sort of have the same cadence, if you know what I'm saying. Absolutely. Weird. Well, Debbie, get off. What are you doing? Bring me some hug. Have a great show, Dad. Wow. Wow. Well, I hope I never, ever have to, you know, speaking of my son, I hope I never, ever have to deal with this in my life. But, you know, I know some guys do. And this is crazy, this email. Just I'm going to read this. Yeah, you just read it. So it says, good morning, Mikey. This is intended for Mike. Gary! So it says, it was a pretty rough couple of days in my house this past weekend. I caught my 15-year-old daughter smoking pot. I'm so hot! Smoking weed. Smoking the Mary Jane. My wife and I... The Mary Jane. The Mary Jane. I've always wanted to say that. My wife and I are still completely in shock. I'm not going to go into details of how we caught her, but I'd really like your opinion on how to punish her.
I think we should take away her phone. After all, that's what she uses to make calls to get her pot. Now, come on. My wife thinks that taking her phone away isn't going to do anything. She wants a more severe form of punishment. I know a few of you have kids. Well, you know what, Jay? This is going to be good for you. So they'd love our advice. Thanks. M1 Red. Wow. Wow. I mean, you know what? My guys aren't quite at that stage yet, thank goodness. But you. Being the old man of the show. I won't say which of my children, but one of my children came home and had obviously been smoked. No way. You knew from the face or from the smell? He asked you for Doritos. She or he. He or she. One of the above. I won't say which. I just assumed. Came home to brush their teeth, and then they were going back out. I was like, what is going on here? What's with the stench? Yeah. He came clean. He. I busted him out now. He came clean. He came clean, said that he had just tried it and didn't like it. I was like, well, you must be doing it wrong. Oh, wow. No, no. He was older, and we just said basically, you know, you need to wait until you're older, until you're brain. It's hard for me because I don't think it's any worse than drinking. Yeah. But.
I think kids should wait until they're old enough, like 21, to make their own decisions. I mean, you could say whatever you want, but for me, I think kids should wait. Mike would have a very different take. Oh, for sure. Yes. I'll just give you my story on this. Number one, it is a little different because it is an illegal substance. Up to an ounce. It's not. But the other thing to think about is this. Most of y'all probably didn't have as strict an upbringing, but when I was a kid, my dad was the county sheriff. When I was a teenager, my dad was the county sheriff. Frugal. Wow. Okay. So, and we lived, this will weird some people out, but we actually lived at the county jail. There was a residence for the sheriff and his family. Wait, wait, wait. Now, this is a relatively small town, but... And at that time, the sheriff and his family lived at, there was a residence built into the county jail. And that's where the sheriff's department was. And that's where the jail was, right? As a little kid? Well, I mean, you know, I was like 13, 14. It was like from the time I was like seventh grade up into high school. So my dad was a pretty strict guy anyway. And my dad always said, this is, you know, I'll remember this and I'll never forget it. But dad always said, here's the deal.
You ever come home drunk or stoned, you will spend the night in the juvenile detention cell. Oh, wow. Just access. And I never, and I never, and I never, ever, ever even gambled on that. So I was a pretty good kid. Now, let's just say when I went to college and I left home, I raised a lot of hell. I did a lot of things I probably shouldn't have done. But I always thought about that afterwards. And I thought, okay, my dad, my dad was a law enforcement officer. A lot of respect for my dad, love my dad. And the one thing I always thought about that kept me away from doing that was I would never, ever want to put my dad in that difficult situation where his son was doing something illegal. Right. Now, I might have had a couple of beers every now and then. But, you know, that's a little different thing. But this mom is asking, you know, she caught her daughter, obviously. or mom or dad, I don't know who it was, but they want to know if the cell phone is a good punishment. That's a good start. How would you punish? I would definitely start with that because having a phone is probably something they pay for and it's a privilege. It's not a necessity. Get rid of the phone, get rid of the door. Yeah, Jay will take the door off the hinges. Oh, my dad took the door off the hinges. Which is brilliant. Yeah, because then you can see everything going on. You're not going anywhere. I have a weird thing with the whole pot deal because of the new laws.
You, Garrett, me, L-O-B, Jay, Will, Sienna, can have up to an ounce of pot on us. And it's completely legal or it's just a misdemeanor? It's a misdemeanor. No, you don't even get a ticket, I don't think. Yeah, you do. You get a ticket? Yeah. But it doesn't go on your record. It's not a felony. It doesn't go on your record. No, no. I don't even think it's a misdemeanor. It's a warning. Infraction. It's an infraction. Yes, it's no misdemeanor. So how do you tell your kid? Let's say your kid's 17, 18, and he has a... less than an ounce of pot on him and he's not going to get in trouble, how do you tell him, well, you shouldn't do it because it's illegal? But is it? Well, it's illegal and it's bad for you. Yeah, for sure. Is there an age limit? Like smoking cigarettes, you can get in trouble because it's 18. I'm not clear enough on that law to say. Well, see now, if they legalized its use in California, I think it would have been 21, right? Just the same as drinking? Yeah. That might be different, but they didn't. Right. So in essence, still breaking the law. Still breaking the law. But you get a prescription card. Right. You know what? Don't even go there. I'm just saying. But they still have to be a certain age, and 15 is not the age. 15 is definitely not the age. When you're out of your own house, you're out of your parents' house, go ahead. That brings up a good point, because I don't know about you guys, but as my dad said up until the day I left the house, he's like, you know what? As long as you're living under my roof, these are my rules. My house, my rules.
You ain't going to do it. My parents said the same thing. I think it's bad for kids. I think it's definitely something that can lead to other stuff. I speak from experience. Really? Yeah. A lot of those things that you do, it's called a gateway drug for a reason. I didn't used to think it was, but now the older I get, I'm kind of thinking of it. Yeah, but you have that personality. Not every kid has that personality. Jay's kid tried it and didn't like it. So he said. I think everything is a gateway for you, Woods. Is it? I don't do anything. How many beers do you have yesterday? I had none. Yeah, but you're dipping, you're smoking. I dip. I'd crack down. I really would. I would throw the hammer down because I'd want to set the tone. I want to set the tone and say, look, here's the deal. Don't you also want to, I mean, part of me is like, well, she tried it maybe and you know that, I mean, I know that I tried it. If she knows what happens when she tries, look what happens if she gets caught again. Yeah. That's what I say. First time offenses shouldn't be that bad. No, first time offense should be the worst. Oh, yeah. No, you got to let them know. You got to set the tone. Because the deal is, if you don't throw the hammer down the first time, they're going to be like, oh, you know what? I'm going to try and do it again. Yeah. I'm going to try and be deceptive about it. I'm going to try and be sneaky about it and, you know, whatever. I think you got to lay it down. I mean, you know, I have a friend who is way, way, way more militant than I when it comes to his kids, but he's got a lot of older kids. Yeah.
He actually called the cops on his kid. Oh, my gosh. Yeah, I would never do that. Now, the good news is the cop he called was a buddy of his, and he came over to the house. Put a little fear of God into him. Yeah, pulled up in the squad car. You know? Yeah. And hopefully that works, you know? I mean, the kid's a pretty good kid. He's at least made it to high school. He's in college now. This is M1RE on the line from San Marcos, and he's, like, weighing in on this. Are you there? Yeah. Yeah, what's the deal now? Still, it's a misdemeanor. ticket and you can't even lose your license. You can lose your license? Yeah. Because I thought I read that it was just an infraction and it wasn't even on your record. It was either like a felony? It was in a new year. Over an ounce is a felony. Under an ounce is just a misdemeanor. It's decriminalized. You can't go to jail for it. If they want to really hassle you, they can take you in to write you your ticket and drag it on. But ultimately, just the ticket, they'll send you on your way.
Gotcha. But most people don't know and they end up in court. They think they could just plead guilty and walk away and the judge will take their license away for six months. Ah, okay. Well, there you go. Yeah. Thank you for the news. No problem. All right. See you, man. Thanks for calling. You guys have a good day. You too, man. All right. Well, I'm just going to say this since I think my sons are listening right now. You guys will never, ever do that while you're living. Take the opportunity. Just like that. All right. So coming up. On the Mikey Show, yet to come. Hoyle apparently showed up at Mikey's Super Bowl party. Of course he did. Was he invited? He was not invited. Oh, my God. Of course not. He just shows up? The guy throws his weight around real good. Fake station manager. I tell you what, dude. I hate guys like that who try to impose their authority when they don't really have any. That's the truth. One of those things.
And what's this, Woodsy? You're going to imitate Jay doing Frank's Red Hot or something? No, no, this is a story. We're going to get into Mikey's Super Bowl party. I got in trouble at Mikey's Super Bowl party. Really? What a shot. By Jay's wife. Bad behavior. All right, it's coming up on the Mikey Show. Oh, yeah, brother. I think this is my favorite song in this album. I am right up there with you. There's, if there's any, any true, true love of country music out there, country radio stations in America should be playing this. This is way more country than most of the stuff I've ever heard. Who is this? Kings. Me, the Kings of Leon. Wow. Son of a boy. What's it called? Back down south. Makes me real homesick every time I hear it. I have to introduce you to a buddy of mine. I have a friend. who works at the record label, and he does Caleb so well. He does? No, dude, he can call. He can call and do Caleb, and you'd be convinced it's him. I would like to shake Caleb's hand. But it's kind of the same. Or give him a hug. Like, he does them inappropriately. Maybe a kiss. Oh, wow. On the cheek. Just on the cheek. Why even on the cheek? You know what? Hug's not good enough? You tower over the guy he's telling.
All right, so who all went to the Mikey Super Bowl party yesterday? I did. Did you? Jay did. I did not. Jay, what are you doing? I was going to call Kim. Oh, really? Yeah. You're going to call her? Yeah, I was going to put her on the air. Oh, boy. I want to hear her. What did you do? What did you do? First of all, the party was really fun. Was? Oh, the food was fantastic. Fan. Did Mikey make his little weenies? No. His little weenie was there, but he didn't make... He was supposed to make his little weenies and onion with, you know, the whole deal. Yeah. For our show. Everybody brought food, and it was phenomenal. What was it, like potluck? Everybody brings their own. Listen, I'm... I am partial to my wife and I think that she had the best dish there. She makes these little ham sandwiches with Swiss cheese with this honey mustard sauce. They are ungodly good. You eat two and you're like Hawaiian rolls. I got home and I go, babe, you made those? She's like, yeah, I wanted to do something nice. I was like...
Maybe you make those every day. How many did you have? I had two. I only had two. I had a slice of cheesecake, too. And a brownie. What else did they have? They had poppers. Jay made poppers. His jalapeno poppers. You make those from scratch? You know that. He gets an actual jalapeno and hollows it out. Guts it out. Puts cream cheese in there. As opposed to the imitation jalapenos. Well, no, but I'm thinking like the fried ones. Yeah, no, these are. Because you can buy them, I think, already pre-made. Not like that. No, I know. He's going to do it from scratch. Yeah, they are. And so there was queso. There was seven-layer dip. Jamie made that, too. Nobody ate that. Nobody ate the seven-layer dip? Yeah, there was like two chips. One of them was mine. There was all kinds of food and drink. I mean, dude, when Mike does something like that, they do it big. I mean, I should say, when Rebecca does something like that, they do it really big. And it was fun, but I got in a little trouble. Tell us what happened. I was. Knife fight in the parking lot. Not a knife fight. Can I see that bottle right there, Sienna? Oh, gosh. That right there? Yes. Frank's Red Hot. So Jay has been doing spots for Frank's Red Hot.
We love Jay and Jay is our friend and Jay is my friend. I was doing my imitation of Jay. Doing his – commercial and doing the Red Hot. I didn't hear how it went. So you're just walking around randomly doing it? That's his deal. I can't even remember who was around because I literally blacked out after this happened. Would it matter? It doesn't matter, but I was like, hi, I'm Jay Ismail. Y'all need some of that Frank's Red Hot on this. Hey, what you got, a popper? Use some of this Frank's Red Hot. So I'm doing my bit, right? Listen, I am a clown. I'm not going to deny the fact that I am a giant clown and I like to make people laugh. laugh that makes people laugh yeah yeah and so i was doing my thing hey what you what you eating there queso you know what's good with that frank's red hot get some well i turn around and behind me staring at me is his wife kim oh no right behind me and she's just looking at me and she goes oh that's funny and walked away
Walked away. She's the sweetest. I know. But she's going to stick up for her husband. Of course she is. I've managed to piss off the sweetest, kindest woman. And she was. So anyway, I run after that. I leave. No, I'm serious. I leave and I go sit next to Mike on the couch and I'm like, I'm dead. I'm dead. I'm dead. I'm dead. I'm dead. You didn't even say anything to her? No, she said. Oh, that's funny. And walked away briskly. She briskly walked away. Oh, no. And I go, oh, okay. Well, and then two minutes later, I'm sitting on the couch with Mike. Jay walks in. He goes, hey, guys, we're taking off. Oh, no. Oh, gosh. Oh, gosh. He asked me about it then. She just finished telling me the story. And so I was like, yeah, well, we were leaving anyway. No, they weren't. I think I ran them out. You live with this every day. It doesn't bother you, does it? No, nothing to bother me at all. But it's one thing if we do it on the air. It's another thing to do it in person. Hey, Kim, are you there? Yeah. Oh, my God. Oh, my God, Kim. I'm sorry. I love you. You are so funny because you always get your panties in a wad when Jay makes fun of you. Of course. That's true. Can I say something to my own defense? Yeah. We have been making fun of Jay for about, I'd say about four weeks.
We have been making fun of me for about 52 weeks. So in 52 weeks, I'll be like, all right, easy target. You're off the hook. Yeah, but you love it. Yeah. I do. Even when we're making fun of you, you still love it. Sometimes I don't. Sometimes I don't. Well, yeah, but Jay doesn't ask for it. I don't always get my panties in a bunch. I've been a pretty good sport about some stuff on this show, ladies and gentlemen. But I was- Had you seen me? Yeah, had you seen me standing there, though, you wouldn't have done it, would you? If I had seen you there, no. I don't believe it. I don't believe it. I promise I wouldn't have. Because, you know, it's like we talk about all the time. We all have spouses, and they didn't sign up for this. And it's not. Oh, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. And or relationships. Long-term relationships. Kim doesn't. Kim doesn't need to hear us make fun of her man. You know what I mean? I know it's got to be hard. I tell Jamie, I'm like, listen, they're going to get me today about something. Don't tune in. Of course, that makes her tune in twice as long. It's funny. We just had that conversation outside. You and I. Kim, were you mad?
Well, I just, I didn't think it was funny that he was making fun of Jay. He always gets upset. I don't always. You do. You do. Always. Kim has a very valid point. Yeah. If you could see the color of this page right now. Be red. I've managed to make Madden like the sweetest lady. I know. She's got four kids. She's like super patient. She hates me. No, she doesn't. Yeah, she does. She does. Kim, you got to tell him, don't roast him anymore. She thought it was hilarious. I'm messing with you. You are messing with me? I was totally pulling your leg. What about just now? Yeah. Oh, my God. Woods just turned bright red. He was like, oh, God. Oh, God. Hey, Kim, I'm the color of this Frank's Red Hot. Get some. I had to do it. I had to do it. She told me. So she said, she goes, yeah, I'm getting Woods real good. Oh, my God. I was sitting on the couch. You know what else Kim did? She walked in. She goes.
Bye, Mike. I was sitting right next to Mikey. She goes, bye, everybody. Bye, Mike. And walked away. I was like... She knew what she was doing. She's crafty. She's got a SAG card, so she knows she's good, man. Do you ever imitate Jay? No! I really want to hear a kid go, hey, this is Jay. I don't talk like that. His family doesn't think he talks like that. That's the thing. You just give him a hard time. You do sometimes. I don't. You get a slight twang. Only sometimes. Yeah. Kim, I'm so sorry. I'll never do it again. Yes, you will. You just did it. I was just messing with you. Oh, thank you. I love you. You know that. All right, so what did... Did anybody else crash? You mentioned some other people crash the party. Well, I wouldn't say some other people. There was one notable standout that crashed the party. Really? Yeah, and it's our station manager, Hoyle Henratty. Oh, wow. Oh, you're kidding. No, and you notice he's not here today. First of all, he was, I'll say wasted.
What? Yeah, well, he doesn't really act wasted, but I could smell it on him when he showed up uninvited. Yeah, it smelled like gin when he showed up uninvited. Oh, no. Boy, Mike must have spun it. Oh, he did. Wow. Okay, it sets the doorbell. Can we get it? Yeah. Hey! Ready in the house? I'm here, and I got the invite, and I'm ready to go. I'm sorry I didn't bring anything, but I had to rush over here as quick as I could. I had some business to wrap up at the station. Yeah, well, you didn't get an official invite, so I don't think you should be able to be here. It's a lot of work people here. It probably isn't appropriate. It's appropriate. I'm fine. I can party.
Yeah. What? You got any cervezas? No, I don't. I gotta go to work. Where is... Is that Rebecca right there? Oh, my God. That's gotta be Rebecca. Hello, Rebecca. How are you? That's not Rebecca. Who is that? That's Claudia. She works. Is she the nanny, right? Yeah, yeah. She's one of the nannies. Which one is Rebecca? I'd like to say hello. The one with the curly blonde hair right there. No, Rebecca, Mikey's wife. That's her. The blonde hair. That's not Rebecca, his wife. Why can't that be his wife? Because she's, well, she's white and cute. And third of all, she's white. Wow. You cannot say that. That's his wife. Fourth of all. What? She's white. I know she's white. You married a white girl. You playing a trick on me? No, I promise. Come here, Rebecca. Give me a hug. That's not Rebecca, dude. That's Claudia. Oh, my God. That's not my wife, Hoyle. That's our nanny, Claudia. That is not his wife over there. Yes. Awkward. And I'm not going to embarrass myself by going over and introducing myself. There's pictures on the wall. Right.
Is that his wife? That's his wife. Oh, for goodness sake. I know. Dude, you're going to embarrass yourself enough. I thought that was a joke on the radio. No. That's really his wife. How is it possible? It's an angel mystery, you know, but if that's something to say out loud. It's an age-old mystery, Woods. I'm trying to get this guy out of here. Apparently it's an age-old mystery how Mikey got Rebecca. You don't say it. I couldn't get over Fergie in the background. It was just so bad. Wow. Yeah, we had to run him out, and he's not here because he was... He tied one on. He's probably a little hungover today. Wow. Good. Yeah, he sat a little bit. Did he ever say hi to Rebecca, or did he just bolt? No, I tried to. I had him by the belt loop, and I was kind of pulling him out. I guess he probably went to Gordon Beer's, finished off his night. He's from home. Wow. That's so weird, too, when you have somebody kind of show up uninvited, and they're trying to work their way in the room, and man, that guy is the most awkward guy. Someone showed up uninvited to my wedding. Shut up. Yeah.
I feel like that always happens. Almost everyone I know wanted to say something. Are you kidding? I'm not going to let it bother me. Yeah. That's so rude. I know. Can you say who? You don't know. It was a girl. I want to hear all about it off the air. Oh, boy. Oh, man. But, I mean, who does that? Who does that? I know. I know people that don't RSVP and show up, but this person wasn't at all invited. Did she come with an invited person? She came with an invited person. Oh. As their guest. Nope. She had a guest already. Oh, wow. So she came with two. It was an additional. Oh, wow. She just tapped on. That is bold. That is very bold. Were you like, oh. And she came up and said hi and everything. What are you doing here? Like it was no big deal. Oh, man. The worst. I mean, what are you doing, too, in that situation? I mean, I was so happy, and it was like, you know, I was fine. I was like, oh, whatever. I'm not going to let it get to me, but. CD's all assigned at that point, too. Yeah, that's a great question. She stood with a plate in the corner with Lestat at your wedding and ate. Lestat was not a wedding. Wasn't he? I'd like to invite you to leave. Please leave. Get out. My parents had a huge wedding and they had, well, it was like a ridiculous wedding, of course. They had like over a hundred crashers. Oh my gosh. Yeah. A hundred wedding. It was in the paper. It was ridiculous. Wow. Wow. Yeah. Well, I hate that. I know.
What's going on? Nothing. I'm spinning stuff all over myself. He just flung slobber. Is he okay? Uh-oh. What is he doing? My gosh, this is the end of his rope. Is he hurling? No. You all right? This is what happens. You just needed some of these. I tried to ignore him, but it was like slobber everywhere. Yeah. So, Sienna, I'm really curious about this. I'm looking down the list of the news stories and stuff here. Uh-huh. 54 people got sickened at a Colorado hockey game? Yes. What happened there? How does that happen? Maybe they were drinking too much? No, carbon monoxide. What? Yes, 54 people suffered from carbon monoxide poisoning. It was a young kids hockey tournament in western Colorado. Wow. And they were all rushed to the hospital. A bunch of adults, teens, kids were treated for various degrees of carbon monoxide poisoning. Wow. This happened yesterday. Yeah. None of them had life-threatening injuries. Thank goodness. They don't know what caused the leak either. Scary. I mean, you know, Laura, you and I were talking about this before. We've been to some hockey games and been sickened.
Oh, yeah. Because, you know, hockey is one of those sports, you know, you need to experience it live. Of course, it's a much better sport to go to live. But there's just something about going to hockey games, particularly the professional hockey game variety where... I don't know. You maybe drink too much beer. Oh, yeah. I've seen it happen. I've seen someone that I know. Because that's kind of what I thought it was when I saw them. Like somebody went to an avalanche game. Is there always a fight? Always? I'm from San Diego. I've never been to a hockey game. Up against the glass and you're just like, yeah! Yeah, yeah! Kick his ass! Kick his ass! It's the best. I sat on the glass at one game. Hartford Whalers and the LA Kings. That's the only thing I don't like about hockey. It's the fights. Fights? Oh, it's fun. Yeah, it's like, what other sport do you get to just... They don't get to. They get in trouble. Oh, they get three minutes in the box. Going to the penalty box. Dude, I'm telling you something. Hockey, you need to go to a hockey game experience. Oh, I've gone to hockey games. Have you been to like that, though? I've gone to hockey games. I've played hockey. I think it's just a disruption to the game. It's like, keep it going. What are you, Swedish?
No, it's just that you could throw, I mean, you could check them in the wall as hard as you want, but then when it's like, let's throw it off and let's fight for five minutes, it's like, give me a break. Did you guys play Blades of Steel on Nintendo? Oh, absolutely. Did you always try to get the players to fight? I would try to rub up against it. Greatest game ever. Pick a fight. So it's kind of like real life. Blades of Steel. All I can tell you is this. You have been to Philadelphia Flyers games. There's a documentary that is so worth seeing. on the Broad Street Bullies. Really? Like the Flyers from the 70s when they won two Stanley Cups. Those guys were thugs. I mean, they would just skate on the ice and the game wouldn't even start and throw their gloves down and go, awesome. Really? I mean, you know, they're thugs. But needless to say, very entertaining stuff. Oh, absolutely. Especially for your dad's seen that. Oh, yeah. Your dad probably got to experience it himself, right? Yeah. All right. I'm getting the sign. I think, well, we have to break here. Yes. All right. So I guess we'll break. Do it. And coming up, EBW has an announcement. Oh, boy. And she'll be in the studio next. Have I met her? She says you've met her. She says that you've given her the go-ahead on a bunch of stuff. A lot of stuff. Yeah. Really? Kind of like Hoyle bossing his way around. That's right. Oh, boy. It's the Mikey Show. FM 94.9. FM 94.9. FM 94.9.
Welcome back to the Mikey Show. I'm Garrett. Garrett! Garrett! Um... Let's probably find out what's going on in the news, although I suppose people are like, well, Super Bowl happened. Right, well, probably the most talked about thing right now in dealing with the Super Bowl is Christina Aguilera singing the national anthem and messing up on the words. Oh. What happened to the ramparts? Get right over it.
Oh, yes. Poor girl. She's taking the heat for it today. Also, yes, over the weekend, NASA released their first 360-degree view of the entire sun. Now, this is the first time that's happened. Apparently, you're able to see the whole sun front to back, and it's going to allow scientists to better understand complicated solar weather patterns, which is what Woods is so into. I love it. Also, Saturday night, there was a big frat party in Ohio at the Youngstown State University. campus frat house, I guess, that had a party, which turned really bad. There was a fight that broke out. One of the guys left the frat house, came back really early Sunday morning with a gun, and there was a little bit of a shootout. I mean, it was bad. Outside of the fraternity house, one dead, 11 injured. What? Wow. So just, I mean. Be very careful. It's really, really sad. What happened to just a good old-fashioned fist fight? Yeah. It's, yeah, not like that anymore, apparently. Yeah, because, you know, most college towns, a small town, small college town, I mean, you know, the drink and fight. Yeah. Yeah, it involved two semi-automatic weapons, fired right outside the house, and the cops were called around 4 a.m. Sunday morning. So sad. Woodsy? Yes, sir? Let's talk some sports. What happened yesterday?
Well, we had the Super Bowl yesterday, but what I wanted, we've talked about that a lot. The Packers won. What was it? 31-21. 31-24. I'm sorry to all you Steelers fans. Sorry, Steelers fans. Sad. Maybe be quiet until after the game next year. What do you mean? Pride comes before the fall. We're happy. No, no, no. Pride comes before the fall. You. Pride comes before the fall. Okay, if the Yankees. Hey, I've been there several times. Got several rings. I don't personally, but the guys that play on the team, I know. But I've learned my lesson the hard way, Sienna. That's why I say those things, they're set out of love. You know what it is? It's greatness through association is what that is. Exactly. Exactly. Well, what I want to talk about is the San Diego State Aztecs. Filthy, right? Their last victory against TCU, it was 60-53. That's a conference game in the Mountain West. But, you know, it came at a price. They lost two of their best players, Chase Tapley and backup, actually, Tim. Tim Shelton. Both hobbled off. They were both in boots on the sideline. And that has not bode well for them. But, man, they are 23-1 overall. They are 8-1 in the Mountain West. And, you know, the RPI rankings, which is the computer, has them number two. That's right, because that's different from what the polls are. Exactly. But in the computer, man, they are number two in the country. San Diego State Aztecs in their next game is tomorrow night against Utah. That's right. Also this weekend.
There was the Hall of Fame, NFL Hall of Fame. Yes. They made their selections. And, man, they have a solid class going in there. Primetime, Deion Sanders. First ballot, obviously, one of the best ever to put on a football helmet. A humble man. Yeah, very humble man. Marshall Falk, who was phenomenal. Also, Shannon Sharp, tight end. Richard Dent for the Bears. Ed Sable, who started NFL Films. And for any football fan, NFL Films is what you grew up with. Les Richter and Chris Hamburger were all the inductees. I'm really happy Marshall Falk is in. Me too. That guy's just a class act. He's a class act. So much a class act. There's an old story. You know, he played baseball, too. He played baseball and football at the same time. Well, this clown gets in the batter's box against the White Sox one day, and he takes his bat, and he steps out. He calls time. Oh, no. And he draws in the dirt. What did he draw? A dollar sign. Oh, boy. Drew, a dollar sign. I was thinking he calls a timeout. He held his hand up to the umpire leg. Give me a second. I got to get ready. Steps back.
Takes his bat, draws a dollar sign in the dirt. And before he could finish it, Carlton Fisk, old Pudge, jumps up and pushes him, dude, and tackles him. And it was so great. But Deion, hey, you know, he was a giant clown, but that guy could play. Spectacular athlete. Absolutely. You can see what you want about the guy. Not a humble guy, you know, but just amazing. He was almost as fast as Mikey. Money. Speaking of Mikey, he's out today. I'm Garrett. I'm, let's see, what can I say? I'm 45 years old. I'm a dad. I got two boys. And I'm the program director of the radio station. And Mikey is allowing me to use his microphone today. We'll make sure we disinfect it with Lysol afterwards. Smells like carrots and throw up. To my left is Sienna. Sienna does news for us. She's 25. She is a new baby girl. With six months? She is five months. Five months. I just posted an adorable video of her yesterday on my Facebook. Of course it's adorable. Of course it's adorable. I'll show it to you guys later. Woodsy is our sports guy right across from me. He's 35 years old, and he and his wife, Jamie, are about to become parents for the first time, which is really cool. L.O.B. How you doing? Lorna Bryan, comic about town.
assistant producer on the show. That makes her mouth water. I saw her plotting and scheming with another staff member of ours who doesn't get mentioned very often, but a guy by the name of Dallas works here on the weekends. Very funny guy. He does comedy around town. Been in a couple bands. He's one of those renaissance guys. Oh, yeah. Him and I are trying to get a gig together for a wedding that we've been asked to do. Nice. We'll be invited then? It's someone that we don't know. They want a comedy troupe at a wedding, and him and I are trying to see if we can pull something off. That would be great. And get the gig. That's true. Getting a gig is a good thing. And of course, Jay is our producer. Jay's 107. Father of seven. No, father of four. A good dad. Great father. Loves Frank's Red Hot. Get some. Do me like a pimp. Dip it like a pimp. The thing that's amazing about you, though, is one of those things where he can do, do, create, fix anything. And it was funny. We were out yesterday having a bite to eat celebrating my youngest son's first communion. Congrats. And the boys were talking about you.
and explaining to Grandma and Grandpa about elephant toothpaste. Oh, my God. And, of course, Grandma and Grandpa are like, what? Who is this guy? What's he doing? Jay's a producer of our morning show, and he can basically create or do anything, and he may not be able to, but he'll convince you that he can. He's the guy, like, when we're in meetings and we're coming up with ideas, and somebody's like, we need a teepee. We really need a teepee. And where can we get it? Where can we buy a teepee? Jay's like, I'll make it. I got it. I got it. Don't worry about it. And we're like. And we're looking. We're like, really? And then you come in, and there's a frigging teepee. And you're like, guy made a teepee yesterday. You know? I took it now. Jay is building teepees. You can do anything. You can make that. And, of course, the baby-faced guy in the glass on the other side of the ranch in the phone says, Will? It's Will. It's Will. Will. I should also remind everybody that the M1 Valentine's meet and greet is happening this Friday, February 11th at the East Village Tavern and Bowl, which is located at 930 Market Street downtown. It's going to be going on pretty much happy hour, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Hey, everybody, we're all going to get late.
Let's hope. Well, only if you're lucky. Or you're married. It's mainly a singles event. So if you want to come out and meet someone, you're going to get to wear a wristband if you're single. But if you are with someone, bring them. Bring them to you. The more the merrier. No one will hit on your girlfriend if she doesn't have a wristband on. Hopefully not. So what's it coming? Is that right? Is that right? I'm very in love with my wife. We're about to be parents. Happy hour prices plus extra drink specials for singles that come out to mingle. Plus we'll put together some tickets and prizes and stuff. The M1 Valentine's meet and greet this Friday 5 to 7 East Village Tavern and Bowl. And Jay will be performing at the East Village Tavern and Bowl while you all slow dance. He's terrified of singing alone. Karaoke's never done it, so he will be on Friday night. I keep forgetting. It's going to be a slow dance. Give him a couple shots of courage. You'll be fine. Next thing you know, he'll be singing It's Rain in Man and it'll be partying. Fair enough. I think you're going to come out real shaky and then you're going to finish. Strong. So strong. I think I'm going to come out strong and then pass out. How upset are you? How nervous are you? Now it's boiling inside me.
It's like stretching and fidgeting as we talk about it. It would be great, Jay. I don't know. Hey, Jay. Hey. When I was coming back in before the break, there was a woman, kind of a shabby-looking chick out in the hallway. It kind of smelled like she was at a Grateful Dead show. EBW. That's her. Oh, that's right. That's EBW. Really? Do you want to get her? What's the deal? Are we supposed to let her in? Yeah, what DJ lets her in? Oh, here she is. Hi, Eskimo. Hi. Hello, Mr. Michael. Mr. Michael. Are you the one? Are you the one that I hear on Mikey's show all the time? Yes. I'm sorry. I'm a little bit nervous to meet you. I thought you knew him already. We've only talked on the phone. We have? I left you voicemails and then you... The ones that come in at 3 or 4 in the morning? They come in at all hours. I've left you a couple. I've stopped since I've been, since Mikey's allowed me to come in so much. But then you post on the FM949 page. I'm like, oh, we're talking. It's kind of like. You said you've been in his office before, though. He hasn't been there. You've been in my office? How the hell did you get in my office? I'm seeing somebody who's the custodial intern here, and he.
Was cleaning and I was just, I wasn't doing anything weird. I was just hanging out. What were you doing? Just hanging out. Were you like rifling through my stuff? No, I was just seeing what it was like to be in the big house. The big house? The big house? When she asked Woods about that. Yeah. Really? Oh, you mean like the slammer? The pokey? Not me. I don't know who you guys are referring to. I've been in there. What have you? You've been in there? Yeah, no big deal. For what? Oh, various things. Like? We went on a field trip when I was in fourth grade and we got to see the inside of a jail cell. That was one of them. Scared straight. Yeah. Why are you here? Well, now I'm really flustered because I didn't expect to see the man, the myth, the legend. So I have a big announcement to make. It's about a... a local event that I'm doing, really big, and I think I'm going to come back in tomorrow when I can gather my thoughts and get a song ready and come in tomorrow and talk about it. You're finally going to make this announcement? Yes, the big one. For a week, she keeps coming in. There's something huge. There's something huge. Yeah, I think Mike would be upset if I didn't do it while he was here. Sure. Oh, yeah. I can totally understand that. I mean, you know, if it's that big of an announcement, I mean, Mike would want to be a part of it. So if it's okay with you, sir.
I'll come back in tomorrow. Great. She's very respectful. You are polite. I will give you that. Yes, I am. Very polite. I'm always like this. No, you're not. No, you're not. When he's around, I am. Well, geez, I'm sort of honored that you would put on your best behavior for me. Yeah, I'm honored and a little flustered and a little hot. And, oh, is it smelling here? Maybe put on deodorant. Yeah, it smells like patchouli. It's a crystal rock. Those don't work. It's my bit. No, it does. Well, I'm going to go. Okay. But it's been an honor. It's been an honor. Gosh, she's so flustered. Yeah. I've never seen her like this. Okay, well, you know, do me a favor. Okay, anything. Anything you want. If you're in my office ever again. I'm going to have to make sure that security knows, because you really should be in here after hours. I'll never do that. I'll never even go on that side of the building, ever. Unless you hire me, and then, of course, we can talk about that. I don't think we're hiring right now. I don't think we've got anything. We don't have anything posted, right, for HR? No, nothing. I've been looking every day, so just, you know.
Okay. All right. All right. Well, nice to see you. Good to meet you. She's never been so cooperative. She's never, ever been so cooperative. You're not plugging any games. You guys have a great day. You too, faker. Wait till you invite me back. Will, can you show her out? Oh, yeah. Thanks. Here's the door. Never like that. She's never been like that. I have a question. Yeah. So I was... So weird. When I was... You were talking about the Super Bowl party off the... During commercials. Yeah. And I was thinking about Mike. And you were telling me how he was sitting on his new couch. Yeah. Was he on his cell phone the whole time? What do you think? His new couch? Oh, my God. He's been talking about this couch all day. And I'm just imagining it. Yes, the new cushions are in. You guys didn't get that text? Oh, yeah. He texted. He texted on Friday. Okay, this is like a company that personalizes your couch, like any kind of couch, any shape, any material fabric. So wait, let me get this. Is it the old couch with new cushions? No, it's the brand new couch. This is actually a custom couch? Custom couch, yes. And they delivered it. It was supposed to be there Thanksgiving. Yes. And they delivered it, and the cushions were not how he asked them. They were too firm. They weren't up to snuff. Yes. And so he said, look, this is not what I asked. I need...
Comfier cushions. He wanted to sink into them more. Right. And so last week he was so excited because the new cushions were being delivered on Friday after. I mean, he's awaiting since Thanksgiving. Wow. And so then I got a text on Friday saying they're still too firm. Yep. I got that too. Did you get it? No. I guess Mike likes some people on the show more than others. Could be. That could be. Wow. Well. That could be. I just envisioned him sitting on his new couch. It is so cushy. With his cell phone during the whole. He had a Super Bowl party. Oh, yeah, yeah. People over just on the cell phone. It's so deep. His little legs don't even hang over. Oh, his legs are, they don't get near the floor. They don't? Not near the floor. Do yours? Yeah. I can if I do, you know, if I sit. But he was all smunched back in the corner. And he looked like the king of the kids. He was so happy to be on that couch. So he was surveying all that was his. And he, you know, to be honest, Yenna. He wasn't on his cell phone. He wasn't? No, he was not on his cell phone. Surely he got up a couple times to help out and to be the host and kind of make sure everybody had everything he wanted, right? No. Answer the door. No. Offer anybody a drink. Clean the plates out of the way? No. In fact, this is pretty funny.
He had his big TV that we were all inside watching. Now, he has a really great backyard for entertaining. So what he did is he had the guy that does his audio video, Ian, set up another big screen outside. Because last year, if anybody was there last year, everybody was kind of huddled in one room. So this was great because you had the indoor and the outdoor. Now, at one point, something goes wrong with the big TV. So it turns off. TV outside then turns off as well. So we're hearing, hey, man, the TV's off. And they came in and they said, hey, dude, the TV's off. And I was sitting kind of close to the door and I go, Mike, the TV outside is off. And he's looking at me like, what do you want me to do? And I go, so he gets the big one fixed. And I go, hey, dude, the TV outside still doesn't work and there's a lot of people out there watching. He picks up his phone and starts texting. And I go, hey, man, what are you doing? He goes, what? I'm texting Ian, who does the TV. I go, dude, just come out here. Where's the remote? And he had no idea. Oh, is he on the phone? Somebody named Mikey's on the phone. True story. You ever just hate some of the members of your show? Yeah, I didn't get that text. Oh, Lauren's upset, Mike. What did Lauren just say? I said, you ever just hate some of the members of your show? Jay and I didn't get a text. We feel very left out. First I heard of them. Jay, what do you mean you didn't get a text?
No, your cushions. On Friday, I was saying how you texted about your new cushions still were too firm. Lauren would have got that cushion, and she would have looked at it. She would have been like, making this. That's pretty true, Lauren. Fair enough. That's true. Did I or did I not ask you about your cushions the last time I was at your house? Yep. I needed it. You did. I needed it comforting. Okay. Hey, Mike, can you turn your radio down? And don't cuss. Yeah, don't cuss. Listen exclusively to the Mikey show, so don't listen to the DSNC. He's a huge M1. We love you. Get roasted. Well, listen, I have questions, and I also have input. Okay. Okay, now, you guys know me. When it comes to social IQ, right? One.
Yeah. Is it really, is it that low? No. All right. Let's say a genius with social graces is 160. Yeah. Because that's a genius in IQ. Yeah. If a genius is 160, I'd say on our show, Sienna and L.O.B. are probably in the 160 range. Okay. They're really good with social graces. They know it's generous. It's very generous. I would say Garrett. I'd say Garrett is probably a step below them at probably 145. Guys. It's really generous. Because Garrett has social graces. I would even consider myself, who is kind of a clown? I know the proper way to do things. I'd say I'm probably a 130. Jay, you're probably somewhere in there with me. 120, 130, both of us. I'll take that. Mikey would be, no BS, and I love you. You'd be probably a 67. I was saying 75. 75? Yeah, 75. I'll take it.
He said, yes, I thought it was going to be a 14. Mike is very aware, and he'll be the first to tell you, you know, I'm awkward in some situations. Yeah, the only reason that I know is because, you know, I listen to 949 when I'm not in. And then I find out. Now, I know because people tell me. They tell me. They say, don't you know you're supposed to blah, blah, blah? No, I don't know that. I don't know that. You don't know that if you're hosting a Super Bowl party and one of the TV malfunctions that you probably need to go check it out. Here's the deal. Ian, the video guy, was invited to the party and he was going to be there yesterday. Now, it turns out he decided to go to a friend's house instead, so he dropped the TV off and he split.
unbeknownst to me. Now, Mike, why didn't you just go outside and check to see if you could just turn it on? Yeah. He was real, real comfy. I probably should have. Now, and the reason... I probably should have. The reason I think he texted me about the couch, well, he texts Woods everything. He texted me, too. Everything. And he told me, because that morning, I was like, Mike, if those cushions are not what you asked, you call them and you demand, you know? And he's like, I can't. I'm just going to settle with them. I remember that was right after I asked him, how are your cushions doing? And he added that in. You're a dead man when you get back here. That might be true. Mike, you're a dead man. Wow. That's all right. I knew that Sienna would comfort me. You know, my whisperer. And I knew that she would comfort me and tell me what to do. I did what you said. You did? Yeah. So you called them? Yes. Good. And what did they say? They're going to fix it? Yeah, but then everybody yesterday shamed me out of that and said that the couch is fine. It's perfect. It's perfect. It's so comfy. And that I have, you know, issues. Can you just trip on it? Hey, maybe L.O.B.
Maybe LLB could have been hurt with me in person yesterday. Oh. If she had gone to the party. At the party. I gave you a warning. I probably was not coming, and then I texted your wife, much like Woods, to tell her that we were not going to make it. She didn't tell me. Oh. I thought that you guys might make it for a little bit. Oh. Well, you know what? I was sick. I was coughing all over the place, so I didn't want to get everybody at the party sick or not want anyone to eat the appetizers because Cough Girl was going over to the table. See, this morning Rebecca said to me that she would like a Super Bowl where she gets to actually watch commercials and see the game and blah, blah, blah. And I said, well, what are you talking about? Why don't you do that? And she goes, well, because, you know, I need to, like, talk to our guests. Fixing your plate. Yeah. And I said... I said, well, if you're watching the game, don't people sort of expect you to be doing that? And she said, yeah, but I think that they also expect that I will, you know, be talking with them as well, which I think of telling me, so next year, you need to do that too. Yes. No, I don't think you need to talk.
You need to host. If you're a host, you need to be up. You need to be making sure everybody's good. Can I get you something to drink? You have to be doing that stuff. But if everyone's okay, then she should be able to sit down and enjoy what everybody else is enjoying. Yeah, apparently. But you know what? I understand. I figure you open your home. You know, you get TVs outside. You get everything set up. You know, you put out a nice little spread. Your responsibility ends there. I believe that, yes. I do believe that. But I am... Wait a minute. But I am... That now I realize what I need to be doing is going around and asking people, can I get you a drink? Which is so insincere because they've got one in their hand anyway. It's just that... It's the most insincere, you know. Does anybody need anything? Does anybody need anything? Mike, you should just say all the time, make yourself at home. Please make yourself at home. Help yourself to anything. If you need anything, let me know. Yeah, because you're a generous man. He's a generous host. Yes, he's a generous host. That would be a good thing for you to say because then you don't really need to do anything. Yeah, come on in. Make yourself at home. Yeah. Sit on my couch. Help yourself to this, this, this. Well, Mikey, mi casa es su casa is how you would say it. Yeah. To me, it's.
It's the house. You realize that this joke about me being Mexican is made to somebody that can't even speak Spanish. Correct. Do you know what we just said? My house is your house. I have no idea. How's Rebecca? Rebecca, I'm assuming it's fine. I'm going to get something to eat because I am just famished. Are you getting... What are you getting? What are you getting? Probably some, you know... Granola and some fruit. Enchiladas. Is there McDonald's over there? Some skim milk. I'm going to be looking for some bananas. Probably just any form of raw protein. Get some whey protein. Wendy's Bacon Burger. Yeah, Wendy's Baconator. That's what he's getting, huh? By raw protein, I mean a biscuit with sausage in it. Yum. That sounds good. Not exactly raw.
Maybe some leftovers, which, by the way, there were none. How do you have a Super Bowl party? What? We had a Super Bowl party, and there was no leftovers. Except for my wife's six-layer dip. I thought it was seven-layer dip. I don't like olives, so I told her to take the olives out, so it turns into a six-layer dip. That's crazy. You make that into a casserole later. Nobody ate that. Did Jay just take all the leftovers? Hey, since we're throwing people under the bus. Oh. He's complaining that I'm just not the same friend that I used to be. Yeah. Because it's true. And we don't spend as much time together. Right. Right. Yeah. When he showed up to the Super Bowl party. Oh. Oh, I showed up 20 minutes after I got home from playing my baseball game. Yeah. And I was at. asking everybody that knew you, like a little puppy dog, as they walked in before you, hey, is Woods coming? Have you guys heard from Woods? Oh, boy. The guy had a game. Is Woods, is Woods, have you talked to Woods? Is he here yet? What time did you get there? I got there right after the very first play of the game. You were asking everybody, Mikey? And I stayed the whole time. Or you were asking just the people around you on the couch. Right. Because you'd have to get up to have everybody.
Poor guy. He's just calling in. He's just calling in. Bro, when I got home, I got home from my baseball game. And I was so tired. And I go, babe. And she goes, you got to get ready. And I go, give me 15 minutes. I hustled over there. I got there as soon as I could. You didn't call? It's kind of inconsiderate you wouldn't call. Why wouldn't I call? I'm not supposed to be there a certain time. You told Mike you'd be there at 2.30 for the pregame. No, I didn't. No, I didn't. I didn't say I'd be there for the pregame. I had a game. I would never say that. I can't believe you didn't call. Don't worry. You guys are still coming. No, I didn't say I was coming for the pregame. Because I had a big time. When he got there, it took him 40 minutes to get out of his phone. Oh, it did. It did. Did you get your butt kicked? I didn't play very well. Oh. And for the record... It's very hard for me to get out of that couch because the couch, it's like a queen-size bed. It is. It's very tall. It had like a mall directory on it. You had to say, you are here on the couch. It's so deep. And as you know, I'm diminutive in size. We know. But not in heart, my friend. Yeah, and so it's hard to get out of the couch. Wood showed up.
Everybody would be watching the game, and he was sitting there, and all of a sudden, there would be no play happening. And all of a sudden, Woods would go, and I would think, no play happened. And I would go, what? And he would go, oh, man, you ever just have guys that are 23 years old swinging 80 miles an hour? I was so mad. So mad. I go, are you still talking about your baseball game? I was so upset. Are you announcing your retirement? Yeah. It may be imminent. Hey, guys. By the way, guess what, guys? What? I got a text from Philly's Nick Sweeney that next week, batting practice at his house. Wow. Woods closed his eyes and smiled, and his fist just went straight in the air. He just looked up to the heavens. Victory. My little angel, Mike Sweeney, is going to fix my swing, and I'm going to start driving the balls in the gap again. I wonder why he didn't text you. Do you think he blocked you?
Heartbroken. He's like, please stop stalking me. Yeah, he's like, who's this guy? Well, yeah, I'm really excited about that, and he's a good dude. The guy's a great hitter. He's going to teach me a couple tricks. I can pass on to my little leaguers. Don't try to sound all nonchalant about it. Hey, you know what, bro? I'll believe it when I see it. Hey, Mikey, we got to go. We got to break. I'm getting a break signal. He's been having a break for like the last 35 minutes. Wow. We love you, Mike. Let's do this. We love you, Mike. We enjoyed it. Goodbye, Mike. Love you. Goodbye, guys. Goodbye. Goodbye. Come back soon. All right. Let's do a break. Wow. The man is paying attention. Oh, yeah. You know he is. Hello, baby. All right. This is crazy because I'm interested in this kind of stuff because I'm always watching the Discovery Channel. So, prehistoric bones were just found of the world's largest bear. Is it double woodsy size, triple, or bigger? Can't be bigger than me. And apparently somebody wants to call to mess with me. And we have another email about parents and hatred. Yeah, so that's all coming up on the Mikey Show.
Welcome back to the Mikey Show. Tonight on 8 O'Clock Albums, guest hosted by my good pal Tommy. Since I'm here this morning, it'd be difficult for me to be here tonight. I could probably do it, but I'll be falling apart. We're going to be tracking through the brand new Social Distortion album, Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes, which is one of the FM 94.9 recommended for this month. And it's a damn good album. It's like old school Social D. There's a band that you can always count on. They always sound like Social D. So, Sienna, before we went to the break, you were telling us a little bit about these prehistoric bones that were just found of the world's largest bear. Yes. How big? How big? 11 feet tall on his hind legs. Wow. Which means that he would have weighed, or they would have weighed, between 3,500 to 4,000 pounds. Holy crap. A bear. Where did they find this? In Argentina. They were doing some construction for a hospital, and they found these bones in there, and they're saying that easily this would be the world's largest bear. Bring on the big ones. Imagine standing there. That's like two of Woodsy. Oh. Plus a few thousand pounds. I meant height-wise. He just gave me the finger. That is absolutely frightening. Will we get somebody on the phone? Yeah. Wait, is this?
Oh, no. Uh-oh. Oh, no. This is Mike's one-year-old son, Luke. Lukey! Who... That's Garrett. Where's my dad? I think he's with your mom. Wait, so... They're doing something. Let me get this. Let me break this down. Okay. My dad, Mike. Yeah. Most of the Mikey show. Yeah. Almost every day. He's not there, but Lauren Woods... Sienna and J.R.? Mm-hmm. Yeah. And Garrett. Garrett. History ever repeat itself real good? Wow. Don't do that. What are your new show? What? The Mikey Show. What are you guys calling yourselves today? It's the Mikey Show. Where's my freaking dad? He's... Oh, wow. Don't get hostile. He's taking care of your mom. Yeah. It's all right. Rebecca's fine. No, Rebecca had, you know, a couple... She needed to go to the doctor. A little procedure. Yeah. Wait a minute. It's okay. Where's my dad?
He's with your mom. No, I'm not crying. Are you okay? All right, guys. What? This is all too familiar. It's not. If it's all too familiar, this is how it starts. No. Oh, come on. Luke. Come on. Where's my dad? I want my dad. He's probably listening right now, and he's upset with you. Where's my dad? Your dad's being a good dad and taking care of your mom. That's what he's supposed to do. That's his responsibility. I want to talk to Mike. Call his cell phone. He won't give it to me, his number. That's what me and my friend's prank call. Call Rebecca's phone. Your mom's. Should I call Rebecca? Yeah, call her phone. You guys don't go without my dad. What? Don't do anything without my dad. Don't be upset. It was his idea. I'm all upset again and being a dad. Oh, look, you're being sweetie. Little honey. It's okay. I want my dad there. He didn't want to disappoint. He didn't want to disappoint. Why do you hate my dad? No, we don't. We don't. We love your dad. You promise? Yeah. Yeah. Lauren, do you promise? I promise. Why do you hate my dad? I promise. Lukey? Why do you hate my dad? I don't. I love your dad. I love him. He's letting me use his microphone. Garrett. What? Don't touch his microphone. Oh, he has to. You're being very protective, Luke. Wow. Don't touch his stuff.
He doesn't like his stuff to be touched. That is true. That is true. Look, we didn't want to give the M1s many best of, so we want to come in. Yeah. What time are you getting off today? The show's probably going to be 10 o'clock or so. What time are you going to go home? Creep. Uh-oh. He's not going back to your house. He's not your dad. Yeah. I mean, you know, I'm going to come home, like, you know, put in some office work, and then I'm going to go home and see my boys. All right, try to make it home quicker than my dad does. But they don't get home from school until later. Well, you can be there when they get there. It'll be a nice treat. Wow. Okay. This is what he does. Wow. Don't be upset, Lukey Lou. He just hangs up like that? Yeah, he does. Lukey. Wow. He's so sweet, Luke. That kid's got a lot of attitude. Yeah. Does that come from Rebecca? Huh? I don't know where that comes from. I don't think it comes from. Does that come from the nanny? Maybe it does. Maybe. There's a lot of attitude there for a little guy. Maybe the old Mike. Maybe the old Mike rubbed off on him. Wow. You know, for a minute there, it's amazing, just like the attitudinal thing with the sons. I mean, you know, when my son Gavin called in. You think that comes from maybe not getting home often enough? Maybe. Yeah.
Yeah, he wakes up, you know, because we work early. We're not there in the morning. We have wackadoo schedules, you know. We go to sleep early. I'm sure my son will grow to feel the same about me. I'm sure we'll get some calls from him. I'm sure we will. Yeah, probably. So, you know, it's funny because, all right, so I know that Mike has Rebecca do things for him. I'm sure Jamie does things for you. Yes. My wife, I mean, I'm useless without my wife. So, I mean, Sienna, do you have somebody who does, does Todd do your bidding or your mom? He's done, you mean like my dirty work? Well, I usually say that, but, you know, it's like, you know, somebody's doing my bidding for me. But, yeah, your dirty work, yeah. Oh, well, yeah, maybe he's done it. He did return a bracelet at the jeweler the other day. Because you insulted that. You couldn't go in there. A diamond may have fallen out of my bracelet and I was upset. And so he had to go back and they had to fix it because I was really, it did. I insulted them. But my mom does my dirty work a lot still. Mom. Mom, do my dirty work. No, I actually, I was at the doctor the other day and we all know how much fun doctors are. And I was, cause I've said on the air, I have.
postpartum insomnia and so i have a problem sleeping and so they've given me a prescription for sleeping and i was out of it and i called them and i said i need to refill and they were like oh well we'll have the doctor call you back today he didn't call back i called the next day well we'll have the doctor call you back and of course he didn't so i went in there the whole deal after three days of not getting a refill and not having it i sent my mom in Absolutely. Send in the clothes. I sent my mom in. Wow. And she did, and she had to refill within an hour. Oh, easily. Within an hour. Wow. You know what that is? That's like in Pulp Fiction, they call on the wolf. Yeah, the wolf. You send in the wolf. My mom just knows what to say. Yeah. You know? It was embarrassing, but, you know, I got my picture. See, now, for as assertive as you are, you are one of the most assertive people I know. Thank you. I bet your mom is probably... Twice, three times that, right? She can be. I've only met your mom once. Yeah. Yeah, she can be. She seems like she's, you know. She is mama bear. Pretty direct. Like, you do not mess by kids. And I mean, the doctor's office, my prescription is for Ambien to help me sleep. And they told me a prescription. And I said, oh, well, I think maybe the doctor faxed it over already. And it was for us.
prescription for schizophrenia. And I was like, what are you talking about? That's fair enough. I was so furious. And my mom, when I told her that, they were like, well, we think we called in that. I said, that's not my prescription. She was like, I'm going in there. I mean, I was bad. I'll still call my mom about, because Jamie's no good at this and my mom is really good. If there's something with a flight, I'm 35 years old. And if Jamie and I are on vacation in Miami and something gets screwed up with my flight, I'm like, Mom, will you just call the airline and just tell them to fix it? Oh, yeah. I still will. Because she's good with that stuff. My mom, she takes care of business. They get it. But see, the torch has to be passed at some point in time. You may want to be able to do that for your children. I try, and it doesn't work. I'm telling you, I will never make her do it without an attempt from me first. And I will always attempt it first, but it never works. Is it a real attempt or is it a half-hearted attempt? It's maybe a little bit half-assed, but it's not like it's not an attempt. I'm not sure I believe that. You don't ever call.
Moms for help still. I call my mom for advice, but not to do anything for me. Kim does it for us. She does it for everybody. She does it nicely, though. She just wears you down because she doesn't accept no, and she just keeps talking. By the time people are done, they're like, please, just let us give this to you. Just get off the phone. That's how my mom is. Yeah, she's so nice, though. But it makes me crazy. I can't even listen to her. Wear you down. They wear you down. Whenever I have to like... Like in a restaurant, I'd be like, oh, let's see if we can have that table or like something like that. I just have Matt do it because he doesn't care about that kind of stuff. But I'll be like, and he like takes free samples from the store. Like, well, they're not supposed to be free, but he takes them out of the jar. I do that too. Like yogurt covered pretzels. Yeah. And I'll be like, I can't believe you took that. Go get me one. I always have him do stuff like that for me. Do my bidding. Imagine how bad you would feel if he got one and then didn't get caught. And then you're like, go get me one. And he did. And someone's like, excuse me, sir. Yeah. He'd probably run out the door. Jamie does a lot around the house for stuff like that. I mean, I am the TCB-er, though, in my house. When it's time to, like, with a bill or, like, I got to argue something, I handle all of that stuff. Because she...
is really afraid to. And I will get on the phone with the cable company and I will drop the hammer on those guys. I have no problems. TC being a flash. TC being a flash, man. That's my motto. I don't yell. I have before when they've gotten real snotty, but... Dude, I've dropped a hammer on them before. I can do it with people over the phone, but when I see someone face-to-face, I'm like, I feel bad. Yeah. Face-to-face is way harder. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Well, you know, that's why so many people are cowards and they, like, attack with email. Yes, or, like, on a Facebook fan page. They'll go to, like, a fan page, like, random. I'm not talking about anything specific. I mean, like, a random, like, I don't know, like a radio station. Like a radio station. Or, like, a fan page. Or they'll, like, protest it. All I'm saying is, you know, if you want to be a tough guy, make the call. Yeah, make the call. Make the call. Call in. We've got to open phones. Or call customer service is what we were really doing. That's what we were talking about. We weren't talking about us. We've got a problem with the company. The thing is, though, Woodsy is very strong on the phone, you know? Yeah. I mean, now, if you had to be, like, face-to-face, a little tougher.
Little Toby. Really? No, I mean. If you had to go in and take care of business with somebody, you could do a face-to-face. Depends on what it was. Yeah. Like, for example, I'm just, this is random. Yeah. I mean, this is random. Sometimes you have to come out with hypotheticals on the radio. Yes. On the spot. This is just a hypothetical. Sure. Let's say I was at a concert. Yeah. Right? Yeah. And let's say that somebody said something to me. about, I don't know, one of my friends or something that I worked with. Like a colleague. Which would never happen. Right. Just if. Like, I don't know. Like, if they said something, I wouldn't have any problem with that face-to-face. Well, that's different. That's different. I wouldn't have. But if the cable guy was at my house, he'd be like, dude, fix my cable. Like, I wouldn't have a problem doing that. All right. Okay. You know, sometimes it is a little easier to be, you know. It's funny because if you're face-to-face with somebody, I always say, look, you know, if you want to tell me you hate me. Dummy to my face. Absolutely. It's a lot harder to do that. It's harder for them to tell you that they hate you than for you to defend yourself. But, you know, once again, the dirty work thing, that's important, man. But you can be good. I can't believe you have your mom do that for you. I can't do the airplanes. That's like the one thing I can't do is airplanes. Wow. And like delivery stuff. She's really good about making sure that stuff's taken care of. Your mom is enabling you.
That's true. My mom enables me every day. Yeah, you know, and without my mom and my wife, I'm a kite without a string, my friend. Oh, wow. Write that down. Write that down. The wind beneath your wings. That's what that is. All right. It's the Mikey Show. Mikey Show. Mikey Show. Mikey Show. Mikey Show. Mikey Show. Mikey Show. Mikey Show. Mikey Show. Mikey Show. Mikey Show. It's FM 94.9 and the Mikey Show. Mikey's out today using a personal day. I'm Garrett. Garrett. Garrett. Billy. Garrett. Seattle. I love that you've embraced it now. You know what? Rock it proudly. That's right, right? Does your wife still hate me or? My wife doesn't hate you for doing your voice. Mike, come on.
Was my wife not warm? I got to tell you something. I wanted to tell you this about your wife. Yeah. Go ahead. First of all, she's one of the sweetest ladies I've ever met. Number two, she was looking pretty good on Saturday or Friday night. Garrett, I got it. I meant to tell you, I made a special point to say, Garrett's wife's pretty frigging hot. I'll make you horny, baby. Awkward. That's not awkward. That's a compliment. That's a Southern thing, you know? Southern guys always tell other guys their wives are hot. Yeah. Hey, your wife? Nicely done. Well done, my friend. Jamie's a babe, too. Absolutely. Absolutely. A babe. I'm very lucky. I'm very, very lucky. Yes, you are. In fact, every day I go, wow, man, I really lucked out. I don't believe her. All right. Do you have big plans for you two on Valentine's Day? No. You know what? Every day is Valentine's Day for us. Wow. I don't believe that. That's something that someone who didn't buy a gift says. I got a week. I got a week. What's going on in the news? What do you normally do on Valentine's Day? I wear something special. Deodorant? Heart boxers? Heart boxers? What it is is a heart banana hammock that I wear. It is not true.
It's not true. Sign me up for that. Boxers, baby. Let's go down to the news. Well, you guys, some really unfortunate news. Oh, great. The situation says he's going to be leaving the Jersey Shore. Great move, Mike. He's just pulling an old Brett Favre on us. He says that he's going to stick around for another year or so, but he wants to focus on his big screen career. Oh, my God. He can focus all he wants. He says, hopefully by the end of the year, I'll be in a movie. There's no way. I hope not. If he is moving. Like a bit part. But he's, didn't they, did he do a commercial? And it was so bad. It was so bad. And he did a. promo spot for the Justin Bieber movie. Yes, yeah. And he was terrible. He's terrible. So he can't read the cue cards? No, he is. He's beyond terrible. Yeah, he's awful. He's good at playing himself. Yeah. Hey, dude, this will be, this will be, I'm trying to think of big stars. This will be David Caruso leaving NYPD Blue for the movies. I mean, then you get stuck with Jade, which was one of the worst movies ever. This is that.
kind of deal. Except David Caruso actually had some talent. Or The Rock leaving wrestling to do movies. There you go. Tooth Fairy. Tooth Fairy. Oh my gosh. The worst movie ever. Also, officials have confirmed three cases of cholera in New York City. What? There were some people that were just over in the Dominican Republic. Oh, sure. Brought it back after visiting for a wedding. And Garrett and Woods, I'm sure you guys have heard about this this morning. Garrett? Foo Fighters played in a second secret gig. Yes, their first one was on January 28th. This was a surprise show in Santa Barbara. And then just over the weekend, they had one in L.A. at the Dragonfly Club. Yep. I got an email on Friday night, and it was really cool. It was on Facebook. And you click on it, and it's a radio dial. And you click play on the radio dial, and it's like, Foo Fighters playing tonight, 8 o'clock, Dragonfly, Santa Monica, whatever. I was like, oh, my God. And I looked at Jamie. Did your computer blow up afterwards? I was like, babe. She's like, we've got to go to the holiday party. You ain't getting up there anyway. I know. You wouldn't have made it. I know. I caught the end. They played, Foo Fighters played a private party for RIM or whatever the company, the parent company of Blackberry is. And we just happened to go, me and my girlfriend went to this club and they had just finished up this private set. Didn't get to see them, but got to meet them. It's pretty cool. Bet you that. They're good guys.
I mean, Taylor and Dave are both really cool dudes. They're very chill. They're very regular dudes and kick-ass rock stars. Phenomenal. And we met the Kooks. You guys know the Kooks? The Kooks are nice guys. Yeah, they were nice. I love the Kooks. I love the Kooks. They played the very first Holiday Hootenanny, and they were one of the opening bands. Oh, okay. I asked him if he was a Hasidic Jew because he had the curling tendrils going on. No, of course you did. No, it's just his style. Is it? I'll introduce you next time they come through. Easy big time. They're nice guys. Don't big time us. Sweet English guys. Don't big time us. I will say this since you brought it up. The new Foo Fighters stuff. Heard three songs. Amazing. Can't wait. Amazing. When's the release date? I don't know what the release date is, but I think we're supposed to have a real song sometime the end of this month. Make that right. It'll probably get leaked or something. You link it over to my email. Crushingly good. What's going on in sports? Well, UFC 126 was this past weekend in Las Vegas, and the big fight that everybody was stoked for was Vitor Belfort against Anderson Silva. Anderson Silva had the crown.
And he retained the crown. He knocked out Vitor Belfort in three minutes and 25 seconds into round one. Wow. That's a fun three minutes and 25 seconds. And then finally, Tom Brady was named the unanimous NFL MVP. First time ever. He got all 50 votes. Phenomenal year. 36 touchdowns, four interceptions. That is phenomenal. That was sports brought to you by Frank's Red Hot, by the way. I bet if Mike Vick did a full season, he would have been in the running. But he didn't have a full starting. Oh, he was definitely in the running. Definitely in the running. You're not really in the running if you don't get one vote. Well, up until he got bumped out and stuff. But I just like to poke the tiger because Woods doesn't like to talk about Mike Vick. Oh, I'll talk all day about Mike Vick. You don't want to hear it. Not in a good way. Michael Vick. Michael Vick. He's a good player. Yes, he's a good player. Phenomenal player. Phenomenal player. You know what we should do? Doesn't mean he's a good human being. No. Questionable morals. Very questionable. Let's play Woodsy Surprise.
What? 100. Well, before we do that, we have to do this really quick. I'd like to point out that Jared, who does... Jared! Jared! Jared! Jared! So which one am I playing? This one right here? Yeah. Woodsy made you something. I made you a little treat. Oh, man. I made you a little treat, Garrett. In honor of you hosting. In honor of you, yes. Hosting today. Ready? Check this out. Tell my traps. Garrett, Garrett. You're going to have somebody, you know, break your balls real good? All the time. All the time. It's a cavalcade of ball breaking. Thank you. Garrett just keeps getting funny. These are like your five favorite words, though. Welcome to Coach. That's... Really a conversation that Garrett was having with his wife, Anne, at the Temper Trap concert. Temper Trap concert. Temper Trap. You get it. You get it. I do it. That was a live audio. Garrett and Anne at Temper Trap. Sure it was. We have a game scheduled. On Friday, the M1 Valentine's meeting group is coming up.
That is this Friday at the East Village Tavern and Bowl, which is at 930 Market Street downtown. If you are a single M1, dateless, looking for action, you're encouraged to come out 5 to 7, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. this Friday at the East Village Tavern and Bowl at 930 Market Street. Happy hour prices plus extra drink specials for singles that come out to mingle. And there's going to be some tickets and prizes to raffle off. It should be a good time. Just show up. That's all you need to do. You don't need to buy a ticket. Nothing like that. What are you going to wear? I don't know. I might wear my white pants. I'm going to try to wear something festive like red or pink. You are now wearing your white pants. I'll wear my white pants. Are they living? No, I told you. But I don't know what white pants are other than living. Pimp is what they are. So I'm reading this email. I was going to get to this earlier, and I lost in a shuffle. papers over here. I don't know how Mikey does this. You keep it organized, don't you? Yeah, she does. Yeah, see, I don't know how you do it every day. Here's the email. Of course, it's addressed to Mikey and crew. Love your show. You keep me sane on my drive to work every day. Mike, see, he's not here. So, but I'll just substitute Garrett. Garrett. Garrett.
Am I doing it right? Yes. You're getting better. Garrett from Garrett. Garrett. I need your advice. Isolate. From one sleeved up dude to another. Okay, that doesn't really apply to me. I have a girlfriend who I'm madly in love with and want to marry more than anything in the world. I have a great job. He's a web designer. And I make a great living. He's married. But I happen to have sleeves and earrings. And apparently I'm not the kind of guy that her parents envisioned her walking down the aisle with. Strange. I'm supposed to meet them for the first time this weekend. Oh, wow. Her mom has seen our pics on Facebook and has made some pretty strong comments about my appearance. Is there anything at all I can do to win them over? M1DD. Wow. Why would she tell him that? Well, she probably made comments on her daughter's pictures. No, we're right. Why would his fiancée or girlfriend tell him my mom doesn't? He said they made some pretty strong comments. I wonder if he was on Facebook. Trust me, you know they don't like you. But he hasn't met them. He hasn't met them yet.
So he's already going to be on the defensive, which is probably not a good move. Right. You know, just ignore him. This is like the movie Meet the Parents. It always made me so mad that he kept screwing up and the fiance wasn't, like, stepping in. Backing him up. Yeah, it was like, come on, get in there and fight for him. Like, she definitely needs to tell them, like, you listen up. It's not you that's marrying this guy. It's me. Yes. You know, if he's all sleeved up and he's got earrings and, you know, he's going to go to that dad and he's going to, if he's the traditional guy, he's going to ask that dad for his daughter's hand. And, you know, it may not go the way he wants it to go, but. you at least tried you know and you did your best you go maybe you take a gift to them i'm really excited to meet you i've been looking forward to it i love your daughter so much yeah you know and hey listen i know i may look a little different but it has nothing to do it doesn't affect the way that i feel about your daughter what kind of man i am just put your best foot forward you have tattoos and piercings and those aren't going to just go away overnight so you have to be confident in who you are yeah just be as respectful
Just break the cliche for them. They're going to expect you to be one way. Just be really respectful and be the person that she fell in love with. And then also ask her, be like, listen, we need to be team, whatever they are, and you need to have my back this weekend. Have no bite back. Yeah, it's going to be rough for me. And don't show up empty-handed. Bring them again. Yeah, bring something. Alcohol. I know what they like. Jay, now, Jay, Kim's parents didn't like you, right? Right. Why? Because I was taking their daughter. It could have been Jesus Christ. It could have been Jesus Christ. Do you just compare yourself to Jesus? It was like me or Jesus. But that's the point, man. It could not stand me. M1DD needs to understand this, that even if... He was a clean-cut, preppy-looking dude, and maybe that was the parent's expectation. Dad, for sure, is still going to be suspicious of your intent because it's his daughter. It's his little girl. That is true. It doesn't matter what you look like. Immediately, they get on the defensive about who's going to end up being the potential suitor. Yeah. My dad's old school about that, and he was like, you guys think I'm just trying to be this way or that? He's like, I have to think I'm not going to be around forever. I need to make sure you're in good hands.
Garrett, are you sad you didn't have daughters? No. I mean, you know, look, I'm stoked that I have two amazing boys. I would have been really happy to have daughters as well. Still time. But no, there isn't. No, there isn't. Feels real good. Wow. What? You're making Garrett blush. Thanks a lot. No, you know, it's just one of those things where it's like, as a guy, you sit there and you know how you were, you know? Yes! You know what kind of a guy you were as a teenager or a college guy and stuff, and you said, man, I wouldn't want to have to worry about my daughter. Meet a guy like me. Just raise them to be smart. You know?
Yeah, I guess. I think the main thing is I just want to make sure my boys are really respectful and have good manners. Well, they do. They're good kids. I was going to say they will be because they're already so good. I was at Indy Jam. One of them came out and said, hey, Woods, you having fun? My dad put this whole thing together. He's been great. He did not say that. Exactly. He did not. I met them one time when we first started on the air, and they were very, very polite. They're very sweet kids. Very sweet kids. They are. They're pretty cool dudes. Yeah, they are. But, you know, the thing is, you've got to understand that I don't care who you are. If you're dating a girl and you're meeting the parents for the first time, it isn't going to matter. It is already a strike against you. They're going to be suspicious. You already have a strike against you. The defenses are up. Hey, Jay Bird. Yes, sir. You got two daughters. I do, indeed. Any dirt bags come to the door before? I've told you that story. Well, it was when she was younger, actually. Which daughter? I actually caught a guy climbing through her window. Oh, boy. What? Do you still have his hands? Are you kidding me? Which daughter? Maddie? How about we just don't say? How about we just don't say? Let's not say. It doesn't matter. One of my daughters had somebody. She was in trouble already, and somebody was crawling through the window, and I happened to come through the window right after him.
How did you know he was there? I went out to take the dog to the bathroom that night, and I looked over, and I saw her window open. And it was kind of cool, and she's always cold. They're both always cold. And I was like, hey, you need to shut that window, you know, whatever. And I said to Kim, who was pregnant with Jasper, I said, something's up. And, of course, she was up every five minutes to go to the bathroom, so she happened to look out our window down at this window, and she said, Jay. There's a prowler. There's a prowler. Somebody just crawled in. I'm in my flaming... He just said it. I'm in my... Oh, damn it. I always fall for that trick. He said the daughter's name? No, I didn't. No, I didn't. Hey, don't say it again. Oh, I didn't say it again. I didn't even notice. So I'm there in my flaming red pajamas. You know, there's these crazy flames coming out of my pajamas. No shirt. Run down the stairs. Kim's still looking out the window. I run down. I come in the window right behind the prowler. No way. Nice. And I grab this prowler, and the lights are off. Oh, my God. Slay him up against the wall. He slides down behind the toilet. I pick him up. Nice. Put his hood over his thing, and I'm just about to wallop him, and the lights come on. And it's like this little 15-year-old. Oh, my God. Wow. Pudge. Was your daughter like, Dad, stop. No, she was just.
And he's crying. And I was like, you're lucky I didn't load my gun and just unloaded you, kid. Oh, my God. And shoot you. And then I said, yeah, exactly. Over the line. And then I said, Maddie, dial it. She's like, dial what? I said, his home phone. Oh. Jay does not mess around. So I call and I talk to him. And the mom comes to pick him up. He wouldn't even get in her car once he got out there. Wow. Did you at least give him a clean pair of pants? No. He was so angry. She called the cops on him to come pick him up because he wouldn't get in the car. And she's like, I'm calling. I need the cops call. Oh, my God. What a train wreck. It was a train wreck. Oh, my God. You guys were both teenage boys. Can you imagine if that happened to you? Oh, man. Yeah. That's when her door came off and all of her makeup went into a bag. You took her makeup? I took her makeup. That is brilliant. Punishment. Took her phone. Took everything. No makeup? Are you kidding me? How long? That's a good punishment. Oh, it's like three months. My dad would lock me up. I'm going to tell my mom that one. My dad, if I pulled anything like that, my dad would have put my butt upstairs in the old slammer. Oh, yeah. Well, what if...
The girl you're going to see, you're 15 years old. You're stupid. You make a really bad decision. And the girl's dad smashes you. Oh, man. My brother's been busted sneaking in. I never, ever got caught. I never got caught either. Never got caught. I did. I think I might have told this story on the air about my mom catching me making out with a girl in my room. Oh, yeah. With a fat girl. Oh, my gosh. My parents caught me climbing my window. Thank you, Mom. Thank you, Mom. I just want to take this moment, Mom, to thank you from saving me from what was inevitably going to happen that evening. A mother's intuition is never wrong. Never wrong. She saved me. I would have woken up and been like, oh, my God. Oh, my God. I didn't do that. I can't believe it. Oh, my God. Please tell me that was a dream. C-Bomb was being your wing name. She's like, what are you doing? C-Bomb being real good. Thank God. You will not believe. This is unbelievable. A town in Northern California wants to have this band. Here's a hint. You see them at kids' parties all the time, birthday parties. I thought you meant like a band. Like Led Zeppelin. No, no, no. They want to ban it. Ban it. Yes. All right. We'll tell you coming up on the Mikey Show.
What in the hell is this? Yeah. Is this Buffett? Jimmy Buffett? I love this song. Really? You like it. This is what we talk about on this show. Here's the thing. Garrett won't admit that he likes this song. You can't not like this song. This reminds me of my mom and dad in the 70s. So you like it? Yeah. It's one of the only Jimmy Buffett song I like. But it doesn't sound cool for the program director of FM 94.9 to go. Yeah, man. Because I like a lot of cheese ball uncool stuff, but I just never got into Buffett. Well, who did? I love this song. That's the thing is, if you're playing like Waylon. Yeah. See, that's the stuff that reminds me of my dad that I get fired up. But there's a lot of people who love Buffett. There's a jam. All right. This one is one of the few I can get with. Welcome back to the Mikey Show. I'm Garrett. Filling in today for Mikey. You should be back tomorrow. Garrett. Sienna's here. Woodsy's here. L.O.B.'s here. Jay's here. And taking the calls for us this morning. It's Will. It's Will. It's Will. It's Will. Will. All right. What?
This is so bizarre. But then again, it's Northern California, so I guess I'm not surprised. So what town in Northern California wants to have this banned? Philly. Walnut Creek, which is in the Bay Area, wants to ban bounce houses. Oh, come on. You know, astrojumps, jump houses. It's like the greatest thing ever invented. Because they deflate? No, because they chew up the grass. Oh, my God. They're a liability hazard. Oh, my God. And they eat up government time with permits and enforcement. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. I was just talking to my mom over the weekend saying that I kind of want to get one for Sage's first. A hundred percent. And I will be in it. I know we do. I'd love to see you in it. Oh. Oh. Where's the crickets? The crickets. Page one. Page one. No. It's too late now. It's too late now. We missed our moment. There, gray button. Oh, you just passed. There, gray button. What? No, you passed it. Come on. Never mind. It's too late. Chirp, chirp. Where's Jeremy? Jeremy can do it like a madman. There we go. There it is. Jeremy, if you're listening, come in and do your crickets. Jeremy can do the crickets. Like a madman. I've never heard.
A gift like that. I thought it was his ringtone. I was like, what was that? He's like a park cricket. I was impressed when I heard Mikey do tattoo. And then I heard Jeremy do crickets. I was like, I'm sorry, dude. He can do mornings. I'm sorry. That's all you need. It's the best noise I've ever heard. That's all you need. Well, yeah, they want to ban these jump houses, which is just so ridiculous. Like I said, for chewing up the grass, a liability hazard, and they eat up government tax. Wait, wait, wait. So if you're having one in your own private property. No, it's just in parks. Why is there a problem? Oh, in parks? Is that the deal? Oh, please. Jay, are you on board with us? No. I can put a tarp down if you're worried about the grass. How many times a year are they actually having bounce? Every weekend, I bet. It's 365 days a year bounce out. Usually at parks, there's always a birthday party. That's fun, man. That's fun for the kids. God forbid. I like the big ones, man. You know, the ones they have, like the small ones they have, but... Dude. There he goes. No. When I was a kid, you'd go to the carnival or the fair, right? And they'd have the giant bouncy thing set up in there. You'd get in there, you'd bounce around, throwing yourself around, flinging yourself around. I mean, it was the greatest. The bouncy slide to match. The bouncy slide was a bomb. Now they have bouncy obstacle courses. Oh, my gosh. I'm in. Oh, they're so fun. You run through the tunnel of it. The boys love those. You know, my mom's best friend, her...
They needed a business they were going to start in Tyler, Texas. She started a jump house business. They're retired now. I'm not kidding. They made so much dough with those jump houses. And you know why? Why? Because when we were kids. We always wanted one. Yeah. And we're now adults. And we're thinking, hey, it's possible we can do this for our kids. Absolutely. It's a good business. I may just have one in my backyard at all times. I think it's for Sage's first birthday. They'll be there. That's maybe an early birthday to do it for. Hey, Jake, can you make one? Can you just build one for us? Sure. Done deal. You know, I think we ought to have one, like a Mikey Show Jump House. We were at an event as a show. Put down there in the volleyball court. We were at an event as a show one time, and we saw, remember that? The one that started to collapse? Oh, they always do. We're like, ah! We're in Coronado. Yeah, that'd be fine. That'd be fine. That'd be fine.
Well, you know, it's got to be somewhat regulated. I mean, you know, it's going to be a situation. They were fine. It's just parachute material. It's crazy. They sell them at Costco now for your personal use. They're pretty big. Can we get one? We have a friend who has one. They're pretty cheap. We've got to get one. The person that's always working the bouncy that comes to your house and, like, blows it up and sits there and is just like, it's the last place I want to be. Kill me. I'm so hungover. Take off your shoes. Can I get it? Can I get it? See, now, if he was wearing, like, clown makeup, it'd even be better. Yes. It's like the belligerent clown who has. to watch The Jumpy House. Stoned teenager. Very bitter individual. Very bitter. All right, buzzword. How do we do this? How do we play this? Oh, boy. We're going to do this? Here's the way it goes. All right. It goes like this. We're going to play today. I have another gift certificate to Pro Flowers for $50. All right. Because Valentine's Day is right around the corner. Right around the corner. So what it is here is I say a buzzword. Call in and pick a horse. Yeah, call in and pick a horse, and I'll explain the game. Garrett. Lauren Woods. 5701949. Pick a horse. Call in. Pick one of those. And I'll give you a word, and then the answer contains that word. Give us an example. So an example would be... Yes. Like if you said egg, and you go, egg on your face! Yeah, to be embarrassed. Egg on your face! Yeah, if I gave you a clue, I read you a clue that would say, you know, if you're embarrassed, and you'd say, egg on your face, that's the answer.
Does that make sense to you? So the answer contains the word. The answer has to contain the buzzword, hence the name. It has to contain egg. So he'll up front tell us what the buzzword is, and then we will have to... You have to yell it, though. You have to yell the answer, not your name. You have to yell it really loud. Do you guys always stand up when you play? Lauren and Woods stand up. I have to because Woods stands up and then Jay can't see me. Woods and Lauren, all of us are very competitive. This game... Garrett, if you think you know, just scream out the answer as loud as you can. Well, we have to say our names first, right? No. Not on this one. Name is not a buzzer. Oh, good. Okay. That helps. That killed me in the last one. Do we need to line up people here? Yeah. All right. Let's see. We've got M1 Nubian Prince. Who are you taking? Hello? Yes. What up? What up, Mike? What up? Hey, what up? And who are you taking there in Nubian Prince? I'll take Lawrence. Of course. Why am I not surprised? All right, man. Hang on. Hang on. So just don't move into a boat. Yeah. Nimi and Prince, he's still there. Are you swimming? Wow. I hate that. He got a bigger boat. M1 Harold from San Marcos. Who are you taking? I want woods. All right. You know that. He's got woods. All right. M1 Harold's got woods. Okay. This is really sad because even Garrett's going to get picked. M1 Ninja from Claremont. Who are you taking?
I'll take Garrett. Yeah. Yeah, he will. All right. Hang on. And finally, M1 Victor from San Diego. Who are you taking? I want Sienna. Yeah. Of course you do. All right. Thank you. There we go. Thank you. Oh, boy. All right. Here we go. Okay. Okay. The buzzword is wall. Wall. W-A-L-L. Interior decorator. Wallflower. Get. Get. glues it up. This came to my mind. Wallpaper. Wallpaper. LLB. LLB got it first. Damn it. You gotta yell it. Okay. Yeah, you can't just say it. I can't just say it. Wallflower? I don't know. What is that? It didn't seem like anyone else was yelling. Sienna just likes to yell things. She gets things in her head that have buzzwords and then she just yells on her head. I didn't even know what a wallflower is. Alright, ready? Jacob Dillon's band. Wallflowers! There you go! Wallflowers! There you go! You were one answer earlier there, Sienna.
Dang. Wow. Wishing to be a bug so you could hear the gossip. Fly on the wall! That's a tie between Lauren and Woods. They both have two. Yep. Woods, take your mouth away from the microphone. I did. Wow. Speakers and cars are blowing out all over the place. His mic is all the way up, too. Did he turn it all the way up? I didn't touch it. A strange and outlandish idea. Off the wall! Ella B is like aggressive. She's a beast. I have to yell because my voice is little. Wow. Somebody write that down. Yeah, that's brilliant. Absolutely. The message is clear. Writing on the wall! Oh my gosh! You guys, your brains work so fast. You're killing me. Why did I party so hard in high school? Wow. Here we go. Popular newspaper among business people. Wall Street Journal. Seattle. I'm like, Seattle. Seattle. I was like, last one. Here we go. A structure that prevents the spread of flames. Red Firewall. Woo, Garrett. Nice, Garrett. Garrett. Yes. On the board. Garrett. Firewall. Firewall. A good name for a band. Yes. Okay. It was torn down. Wailing Wall. The Berlin Wall.
Lauren got it first. Wailing wall. Wailing wall. I said wallaby. Score, score, score. Wallaby voodoo. Score. You're at one. Lauren, five. Woods, three. Wait, who just got that one? Lauren. I did. Okay, that's what I thought. So these are a couple of two-pointers coming up. Oh, great. Okay. Here we go. Pink Floyd's notable album. The Wall! The Wall! Garrett, that's Garrett. That was me. Oh, I got him by a million miles. It was Garrett. What? Yeah, Garrett. Oh, my God. He's not loud enough, buddy. It's weak. All in all. He just told me, and he's laughing. That was a two-pointer? Yep. That was a two-pointer. Yes. She's laughing. Oh, boy. Here we go. Completely carpeted. Wall to wall! Lauren? Again, she wins. She is a beast. Garrett has the... Which one is it? How is he supposed to know? Just sing, Garrett. I'm the new guy. It's Star Wars theme, actually. I want to play again.
That's not it, dude. I think we're just going that way. Even better. Even better. God, LLB's good. You go to the phone of the first person, Nubian Prince. That's right. And that would be Nubian Prince. Nubian Prince, congratulations. You know it. So awesome. So you win a $50 gift card to proflowers.com. Valentine's Day is coming up. Hello, baby. Mike and show up for special discounts. Congratulations, dude. Thank you. That's going to go to my mom. Good move. Very nice. You're a good man and you're a kind son. That's true. All right. You're doing a great job, Garrett. You're very kind. Thank you very much. All right, we've got a break, so let's do that quick. Coming up. I don't know. Let's flip a coin and decide what we're going to do. Do you want it? Can you just figure it out? Huh? She doesn't like to wing stuff. Not when it comes to the schedule. Apparently there's a new website that's taken over 250,000 Facebook users' info. We'll tell you who, why, what, and where next. It's the Mikey Show on FM 94.9. Probably my favorite GNR song ever. Ditto.
Tonight on 8 o'clock albums. And I will not be hosting because I'll hopefully be passed out in a nice, warm, comfortable bed. Social Distortion's brand new album, Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes. It is a good one. It is one of the FM 94.9 recommended for this month. And Tommy will be hosting the feature this evening. Tommy. It's good that you hired him. He doesn't know that yet. He doesn't. For the fourth time. For the fourth time. All right. Sienna. Tell us about this website that's taken over 250,000 Facebook users' info. Well, this is a new website called lovely-faces.com, which launched this last week and apparently stole over 250,000 users' information from Facebook for a couple reasons. One, to destroy Facebook. take private information and use it. Because that's what Zuckerberg originally did. And also to make theirs more successful and make more people find out about theirs. Wow. And this one, it's a lot like Facebook. Nothing out there is a lot like Facebook. I just want to state that for the record. But this one seems to be very similar. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO and creator of the Facebook. Yes. It's called The Facebook?
It was. Oh, okay. Well, this place, lovelyfaces.com, is using a facial recognition program that you can search for someone also by just typing in easygoing, smug. Wow. Are you kidding me? Wow. That's stupid. You can also type in their real name, but there's more. Like, say you're searching for someone. It's like a dating website. That's stupid. Searching for someone. Romantic. Someone that looks naughty. Ooh. Wait a minute. Get it? JJ's like, well. Maybe I'm in. I changed my tune. Jay, it's lovelyfaces.com. That sounds like a really good idea. You know, I'm a little creeped out by the whole social networking thing. I'm like almost completely out on it. I mean, you know, seriously for me, I'm like, how much information is too much information? I don't even know. I want people knowing about me anymore. I think about deleting my Facebook. Me too. You're such clowns. Every day I think about it. And you'll miss it. Yeah, that's so ridiculous. I won't miss it. I won't miss it. Yeah, you jump up every time Wood's like, oh, look at this. You're like. I go over there, run and look over his shoulder. Everybody wants to see what's going on. Everybody wants to know. Everybody's voyeuristic. I seriously contemplated getting out of Facebook altogether. Let's all do it right now. If it weren't for the radio show, I would have been off. Really? Really, would you? Yes. I don't think I believe it. True story. But the whole dating online thing, it works because I read that one in four marriages met.
Online. Wow. Hey, man, how about getting out of the house? And then two out of five divorces are from Facebook. Isn't it? Something like that. 60%. Yeah. Hey, and then an old flame I forgot about. I haven't thought about it for 15 years. Yeah. Boy, she looks good. You're going to find her anyway, though, wouldn't you? No. Not necessarily. But hey, I'm a fan of Facebook. I love it. I think it's great. It's a great way to connect. Great way to see. I don't live by my family. I keep in touch. I post pictures. I don't have to do separate emails. perfect for me. Pick up the phone. If it wasn't an old flame, it would be a new flame. How do I send pictures over a phone? I want my... You can email pictures. Yeah, but it's a pain in the balls. I put it on my Facebook. Everybody sees it. It's accessibility, Jay. It's accessibility. Is that what it is? I like it. I visit with people. I get them to tell me what they... hate about my sports and stuff. And they tell me, why don't you do the fishing report? Yeah, but there's nothing worse than people posting pictures of you and you being like, ah, ah, ah. Sienna, that is true. How many chins are there? I'm pretty mad about that because you know if somebody looks bad in a picture. Yes, you do. Jay, he tagged me in a picture. Jay tags me in every picture. You know what? I don't delete any pictures. Anything taken, I just post them. There's like four pictures of me. Maybe you give us the responsibility. There's like four pictures of me in the album from last week in the studio. All the ones where I look fine.
I'm not tagged in. The one where I look like an idiot, I'm tagged in that one. Okay, here's what we'll do. I just go through it where it says facial recognition and it just tag. I just tag like three or four so everybody's page brings people in. Just don't tag. Well, I have to because our goal is to decrease the people that want to come to our page and it's a marketing thing. They won't want to come once they see pictures. It's viral marketing. But it doesn't bring them to the Mikey Show page. It brings them to your page. I'm sure they don't have flattering photos. But I posted on the Mikey Show page. You know, from the party the other night, from this guy's party. Oh, yeah. Oh, no, but there's some out there. We take a lot of pictures and there'll be pictures of us from the side at a downward angle looking up and we're laughing. But you have no control. That's something I hate. It's like, you know, if I want to put pictures up. I'll put them up where at least I look somewhat dashing handsome, which is hard for me. You won't be able to approve. And once they're on the internet, they're there forever. I don't go through and even look at them. I just basically grab a whole group of them and slap them up there. You need to be more responsible. Well, here. I'll just give it to you and let you do it. It'll be another responsibility for you. How does that sound? Facebook. It's not my camera. It's yours. Facebook should say, before they post any pictures of anyone else, you should be able to approve whether or not you should be tied. Why is it posted at the end?
And then you can take it off. I think you can actually set that setting. You can untag. I need to know how. Yeah, just untag it. Just untag it. Yeah, but it's already been up, and then you feel like a D for untagging yourself. Yeah. I do it all the time. I do show. Sure you do. I want to improve it first. I'm going to set that. I think you can set that. Really? Mm-hmm. Emma and Chris from Oceanside. Yo, you there? Hey, what's up, you guys? Hey, man. Let's go. Hey, I just wanted to say, Garrett, awesome job today, man. Really good job, dude. You've been waiting all morning to call and do that. No, you know what? Actually, I had to because I lost about 20 minutes of the show because of Walmart standing in the return line with two people. I thought I could pull it off on a commercial break real fast. You know, Granny Baxter was wiring money, so it took forever. I was stuck in Long Line yesterday, too, at the grocery store Super Bowl Sunday. Saturday. The guy wrote a check. I wanted to kick him in the chair. Oh, you wrote a check at the store? Yeah. Come on, pal. And his little kid kept touching my food on the thing. I was like, get it! What? The only thing worse is the one writing the check is the one that has to also sit there and write it in their journal and waste everyone's money. Oh, yeah. Go do your business in your car. Agreed. Take your receipt. You know what the total is. Go do it in your car. Yeah. You know, Chris sounds more like me than I do. Yeah, he does. It's Garrett. It's Chris. Oh, yeah. Chris, did you go to broadcasting school or something? No, I just kind of got that voice.
I guess. I don't know. Are you a golden voice homeless man? Chad Williams? By chance. I'm an unemployed chef. You're a chef? I was. So you have the job that I want. Yeah, no, you don't want it. 27 years, trust me, you don't want it. I know, guys. I know what you're saying. What cities have you worked in, Chris? What's that? What cities have you worked in? Mostly San Diego, Vegas, Damage. Not Seattle? What about Philly? Not Seattle, not Detroit. Not even Philly. But San Diego. He's good at that. He is good. You're strong, man. Yep. Hey, I got a beanbag. I'm not a eunuch. Oh. Okay, I'll quit while I'm ahead. All right. Love you, Chris. That was brilliant. Appreciate it. See you. All right. End of it. Wow. What's Hillary? I don't know. Is she coming in today? She comes in and she hangs out around now. Still have five minutes. She raps with us. That's good. So I do want to know about this. What is the deal with the man who survives a soccer ball-sized tumor? Oh, my God. So gnarly. This guy in Sacramento went to the doctor, searched, and he was having back pains for about a year. Finally went in there, and he's a principal, vice principal at a school in Chico.
told him he has a soccer ball-sized tumor that had become as solid as a rock and even was growing tentacles. It was just gigantic. I know. He and his family called it Kilgill. Enormous. The tumor. Now, the reason I'm able to joke about this is because they were able to get it all out, and he's fine. He's fine? Yeah. I heard that when the doctor removed the tumor, he said, Goal! Crickets. Crickets, Garrett. Wow. If Mikey was here, he would laugh. Mikey would have laughed. That's right up his alley. Lauren started it so confident, and then he finished it like, oh. I was actually thinking I was going to get the crickets on that. So what were the biggest movies over the weekend, by the way? Oh, man. Do you remember? The number one was the movie with the girls, The Roommate. What?
Single white female? Leighton Meester, the roommate. She's real cute. She's from Gossip Girl. Leighton Meester. And Minka Kelly. Oh. Soon to be Mrs. Derek Jeter. Yeah. Get some. Really. They're really. Minka Kelly's very pretty. They're stunning. She's stunning. They're stunning. They're both. Her and Leighton is what I meant. I thought you meant Derek Jeter. Yeah, of course. Also, the number two movie was Sanctum. That's the underwater cave thriller. James Cameron's movie. Isn't that amazing? I would have thought that would have been number one. That looks really good. I bet it will be next weekend, but I think it was the teenagers were going to movies or something. I thought it got bad reviews, though. Did it get bad reviews? That's a bummer. Hi, Hill. No surprise there. Sorry. And No Strings Attached came in number three. Wow. Did you listen to Garrett today? I did. What did you think? I especially liked the song you made. Did you like the song? We should go out to the song. We should go out to the song today. Oh, totally. For sure. Yes. I don't have any guys. I didn't grab any. Well, hold on. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Someone's on the phone. Dad? Did we do okay, boss? Hey, boss!
Why are you laughing at us, Mikey? I knew it, Mike. Thank you, Mike. Are you coming back tomorrow? Are you going to be here tomorrow? What's that? Are you going to be back tomorrow? Are you coming back? We must have some bad connection. I can't hear anything you're saying, Garrett. He's joking. I think he's joking. Yeah, I'll be back tomorrow. Thank goodness. Yeah, thank goodness. I'll be back. It was fun. You did a great job, Garrett. Yes, you did. Mike, you're very kind. Thank you. You did, man. You did a really great job. And everybody, gosh darn, you guys are talented. Every time I was able to tune in, I was laughing. Good. You are a sweet man.
That was good, man. It was good. You guys did great. I especially enjoyed all the background from your party, by the way. And, boy, we've got to do something about Hoyle. Can't let him crash any more parties. The guy's unbelievable. Clown. He actually came with us to pick Rebecca up. Weird. I didn't come with you to pick her up. I picked her up. I picked her up. Uh-oh, now he's got a thing for Rebecca. Yeah. Good line. I couldn't believe it yesterday when I met her. I could not believe it. Why? Well, because she's white. Wow. And why would that be weird? Have y'all seen Mikey? Yep. Every day. He's not. He's... Right. Latino. Latino, yes. He's Latino. He isn't just Latino, y'all. Who's what? In my neck of the woods, he's got the perfect hands for picking strawberries. Oh, my gosh. Wow. Oil. That is not PC at all. That is over the line. Definitely not. That is over the line. Hey, listen. It may not be PC. While we're thinking it, you just weren't thinking. I was not thinking it. I wasn't. I was thinking it. I love how Mikey on Friday said, Mike, you should call in.
He's like, no. I'm going to leave you. This is his third time. I wish I knew I had to quit you. You guys, I'm not going to call in. He did. He said, no, absolutely not. I'm going to be doing my thing. I asked him yesterday. I asked him yesterday after the Super Bowl party. He goes, no, I'm not calling in. First break, last break, middle break. I can't take it. It's hard. Rebecca's just staying out there waiting for him. He's in the car. He's doing oil then. I'm oil right now. I'm oil. You got to wait. Got the door locked. We'll let her in. I got gold. She's actually sitting next to me right now. Did she hear the song, Mike? Did she hear the song that I did? No, I didn't hear it. You didn't hear it yet? You will now. How are you feeling? We're going to go out with it. I feel a little loopy. Sound good. Does this feel alive? Yeah, it feels like, is this real life? I'm jealous. Well, take care today. Make Mikey wait on you. Yes. Rebecca, take advantage. This should make your day. It'll be kind of nice. I'm going to love you. It's kind of nice, she said. This will make your day, Rebecca. There you go. All right. Mikey Show is out. Mikey back tomorrow.
