Sienna reports more woes for Toyota recalling practically every Prius ever made, upsetting “hippies & hipsters” everywhere. The gang discusses President Obama’s teleprompter woes and plays the funny audio. Lauren points out that Mikey needs “a boost” to reach the KZBT office microwave. Former ESPN employee Steve Phillips is the next topic and makes for an interesting conversation about sex addiction. Sienna compares sex addicts to Skittle lovers who enjoy “tasting the rainbow”! Your First Kiss talk is next and we learn Lauren liked kissing sleeping boys and Jay the playa got busy in the forest with little Linda Lemming. Things got so hot they burned the forest down! Lauren schools us on what New Jersey is really like and Jay talks about his daughter busted by the cops for breaking curfew.

KBZT San Diego, a Lincoln Financial Media Station. The new home of The Mikey Show. This is FM 94.9. Welcome to The Mikey Show. Tuesday. Tuesday, February 9th. Tomorrow is my anniversary. Happy anniversary, Early. Thank you. How long? Five years tomorrow. Nice. Yeah. Five years already. This happened just like that. Been with her for a long time. Woodsy's seen the good and the bad. Yes, and the ugly. And the ugly. Now it's good. It's all good. Shout out to February weddings. I will say this. We thought it was the dorkiest thing getting married at this time of year. No, it's the coolest. It is? Everybody's doing it. Really? Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. Sorry, I had to move something, and it just...
disturbed my whole morning. Yeah, you just got off the rails. My wife thinks that's the funniest thing in the world, by the way. What's that? Like, if we get in the car and I happen to put the seatbelt on and it twists the wrong way, and I'm just like, oh, my day is gone. Like, forget it. It's not supposed to... The slightest change in something freaks me out. Which is why it was so fun when everybody was so upset at me for giving the wrong phone number out. Because it wasn't like I was already taking myself behind the shed and saying, you know, it's time to put the old boy down. That's right. It was like that. Our phone number, 570-1949. And text message, 949mikey at gmail.com. And you can call us right now to do it. When we start the show, at the beginning and end of every show, it's open phones. You can call in about anything that you'd like.
And so we would love to hear from you right now. There are humongous stories out there that we're going to be getting to. I mean, just a full show. We redesigned some things yesterday off the air that are going to make things a lot smoother. And so that's cool. And the show is getting more and more like just into a groove every day. So it's not as stressful as it was just a week ago. I know, man. You know? Don't you guys kind of feel like we come in now and it's a little easy? Although I will say, poor Lauren is dealing with this stuff, man. She is. I have different stresses now. Like not enough counter space. Right. Yeah. I take up a lot of space. I'm fat, so I'll move over. And he calls his, what's he calls his area? Crack den. Crack den. He's got just stuff scattered everywhere. Yeah. So do all of us, though. I have, like, 18 piles of paper. You have so many papers. I mean, we have to. Woods just has food. I have food and, like, spit cups over here. Food, a Copenhagen thing. This is awesome. I have little flossers. Yeah. What are those? Why do you have those in here? Really? I didn't know that you floss during the show. Yes. Because at 10 o'clock, he needs to look lovely for Miss Hillary. I don't like snuffing my teeth. Okay?
Since Hillary's probably not awake and listening right now, it won't embarrass her or Woodsy too bad to know that before, first of all, everyone's got a crush on Hillary. Yeah. Even I do. Our midday girl. Yeah. Even Lauren. Very intimidated. Very intimidated. She comes in and he gets so flustered. He's like, how doing today, you? Oh, darn it. Nervous Purvis. That's me. Nervous Purvis. Nervous Purvis. He goes, hi, are you Hillary? She's like, what was that? What is your problem? What's wrong? What's the matter? Is he okay? Do you have any more donuts? She loves when we have food in here. So, yeah, he's got little flossers. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show. I'm 39 years of age. I have a photo shoot later today at Chicano Park. Go on. Are you done with photo shoots? I really do. No, you don't. Of all places, I mean, why not just do it next to it? Do you really? I'm not kidding, dude. There's a place called Chicano Park here. Never heard of it. Later on in the afternoon. Are you going to wear Dickies and button only your top button? Hey. Git. Git. No, that's why Mike's all dressed up, right?
Looks nice today, looking sharp. And Dickies are utility pants for tough guys. I know. Look at me, man. Utility pants for tough guys. That's great. I had no idea. Yeah, it's going to be really, really awesome. I just heard that it was at Chicano Park and I went, really? Really? So, let's see. Woodsy is our sports guy. He's 34 years of age. And apparently... Didn't want to throw in the contacts today. He's got the glasses on. Yeah, a little early this morning. They look sharp, man. Thanks, brother. And then Lauren O'Brien is our assistant producer who's got podcasts running for you now. Yes, February 8th is up. Yeah. Really? It is. MikeyShow.com, bro. Working on the rest, but we're experiencing technical difficulties. That's what's been stressing her out. Yep. I texted from her yesterday. I quit.
She said, I quit. I quit. I'm out. Yeah. They had a text from her. And I'm texting her back and forth, and we're trying to figure out what this deal is. And you know me. I really don't know anything. I don't. About technology? About anything. Mark that, by the way. Yeah. Mark that. I don't know anything about... If it has to do with the show, here's what I know. I know the stuff that's written and right in front of me. But if somebody's like... Mike, with the podcast, how do you think that we, I'm like, what's that? Remind me one more time. Podcast, what is that? Remind me one more time. I know. I should have known better. Once I got the conversation going, I wish that it had just stopped. Yeah, I know. And I knew that. I knew that. You have to do this on a computer or on a phone? I don't understand. Well, at one point I said to her on the text, I said, I hate to do this to you because I knew it was the last thing she wanted. I said, but I think.
you got to call me. And my phone was like blinking because it was dying. And I was like, ugh. A call. So he said, thanks, Mike. It's been a really fun week here on the radio. I think I'm going to go back to waiting. I'm actually wearing my belly up shirt today. She's actually working a shift this afternoon. She's trying to let me know that it's done, okay? Thank you, but no thanks, bro. Sienna is just a doll. She's 24 years old. Little angel. Little angel. My fiance would probably beg to differ. That may be true. That may be true. You may beg to differ on that one, but we love you. Thanks. And if you're not aware of it, we also have an executive producer named Jay. Yes. He looks like an executive. Thank you. This is the briefcase. That's right. He is in another room separated by glass. I love how Jay has a folder that he brings everywhere, and the outside cover of the folder is basketball material. That's what it says? No, it's made out of basketball. If you rub it, it's like a basketball. It's a Spalding on it, too. That was a good fun one. Wow. It took me a second. Wow.
Did you hear it, Sienna? No, I didn't hear it. He did another that's when you said if you touch it, it's like a basketball. What is wrong with you in the that's what she said comment? I'm six. You are six. I am six. He turns anything into that. He does. How old does that make me if I laugh at it every time? Seven. I laugh at it a lot. I just, it's like, how do you come, you think of it so quickly. I'm creepy, dude. That's why. Yeah, that's true. You know that. Mark that. Yeah. I'm coming this morning. And you're being inappropriate. Of course you are. I get that clip every day. I know. So M1 Nation, give us a call. You can call about anything you want. Mikey Show listeners are called M1s, and M1 turns their radio down, gets to the point, doesn't cuss, and also turns new people on to be in M1s. And that's what we are all about, man. So hopefully you're telling people where we are. A lot of people don't even know the Mikey Show is on. And so be letting people know that we're at 94.9. You can call us, 570-1949. We are taking your calls now. So I don't watch American Idol. I don't either. That makes three of us. You guys, are you not Americans? I know it. I know it. I read books. Well, here's the thing, man. I mean, as much as I don't watch it, right, it's still...
I think it's like the number one show in the country. It's still doing well. I haven't watched every episode this season, which is really unlike me. But, no, yeah, it's doing really well, and especially tonight. Yeah, tonight Ellen's going to make her first appearance. She's going to be on American Idol tonight, yeah, filling in for, well, replacing Paula Abdul. Oh, permanently? You didn't know this? No. Remember, Lauren doesn't know. Lauren, when it comes to pop culture, Lauren doesn't know. I'm pretty sure the president addressed this. I know. I know. I'm pretty sure. If you ask Barack Obama who replaced Paul Abdul, I bet he would go, Ellen, what am I, Stubborn? He'd say, I have it on DVR. It's ready to go. I was really worried that when I took this job, I was going to have to watch, like, Dancing with the Stars. Me too. I was like, I'm going to have to. It's going to be torture. I don't know how I'm going to do it. That's why you have me. Thank God for Sienna. Sienna watches all this stuff. Thank goodness. And if she doesn't watch it, she DVRs it. Is Ellen still going to do her show? I think so. Oh, yeah. She's like the next Ryan Seacrest. She had Katie Couric on her show, and she made Katie Couric interview her about going on American Idol. And I guess there was, as there is with anything in this day and age, some controversy. You know, how will Ellen do? What will she add to the mix? Right. Are you trepidatious at all?
No. Is that a word? Did she make that up? Trepidatious. I know trepidation, but I guess the verb is trepidatious. Of her having to do with trepidation. Right. Okay. And I don't even understand the controversy or why it's a big deal. I mean, you know, I think that it's important to have somebody on that panel that's representing. I mean, the whole show is about. People at home calling in and voting and choosing. So if it's their opinion that counts, then I'm just someone who also has an opinion as a fan, as a viewer, and as someone who knows what it's like to be on stage and entertain people. So I know what it takes, and I've been in the business long enough that I think I can spot and be able to help guide someone if I can help them along the way. I guess the controversy was that you don't have a musical background. Which is so stupid. Who? Which one? That Ellen doesn't have a musical background. Oh, I know. Why is that stupid? I think it's great. No, no, no. What I'm saying is I think that's stupid that people thought that that was a bad thing. Oh, yeah. Absolutely.
No, they think that everyone needs to have this background like Kara or Simon, you know, Randy, whatever. But Ellen's like representing us. She is a regular person that has no music background. She's so not a regular person, though. Well, you know what I mean. It's not like they picked Bill up off the street. No, it's because she doesn't have a musical background that she's going to have the same perception as all of us at home who are the voters. Yeah, I agree. Maybe she'll smarten up the show a little bit. They should have. I mean, they're judging music. Yeah. Well, Simon Cowell is a music producer. Randy Jackson used to be. Played in Journey. Played in Journey. Wow. Played bass in Journey for a while. I don't understand why they're the judges if ultimately the American public is the judges. They're just there to weigh in. They're there to give a professional opinion. But what is Ellen's professional opinion? They've changed the. formula a little bit and they've said that now they're going to have somebody that represents us sitting on that panel that's actually kind of entertaining i can't believe ellen did it i mean i guess i talk about sports and i'm not a professional athlete so i guess i see your point but also i mean the contestants get so much better after each week because they have professionals guiding them ellen is there to represent us there are three other professionals that can help why do you think why are you irritated ellen lauren because ellen
Up until about five minutes ago, used to be one of my favorite comedians. Did you seriously not know that she was going to be on American Idol? No. Why does it bother you? It's like living under a rock. Because American Idol is so dumbed down of, I don't know. Wow. We're all dumber for watching it? I'm upset. Lauren thinks it's the dumbing down of the musical industry. Yeah. Why? Because... You don't necessarily. I mean, they're working on people that have images, people that are likable. It's not necessarily the most talented people. I agree. I'll say this. Here's what American Idol is. American Idol is a popularity contest. Yes, exactly. Oh, no, it's not. Then why did Ruben Stuttered win? It's not a talent contest. It's not popularity. I'll tell you why Ruben Stuttered won. Because he won over America's hearts. Yep. Yes. But he's also a great singer. All of those people are great singers or they would have never made it that far. But what have they done? I mean, there's only a couple that have really done anything. It doesn't matter. What about some of these one-hit wonders that made it on their own and then they disappeared? That's true. It's a good point. It's the same thing. But I will say this. I will say this, though. I will say that I don't believe that Adam Lambert is the most talented singer. I don't. But what I do think about him... And a lot of people agree with you. I agree with you. But...
What I do think is that when he got on stage, he had charisma. And he won a popularity contest. He had Mascara. He had Mascara. But that's the way it is. Look at actors and actresses. Anyone that's famous. I mean, Lauren was saying that she doesn't like Rihanna. Rihanna's a huge star, but not everyone is going to like that same person. She is popular because people can relate to her. They like her. She's cute. That's what, I mean, that's just what it takes. Sometimes people who may be the most talented person in the world will never become famous because they're not likable. Yeah. Yeah, I think it's just compromising the integrity of music. Nice. But I don't understand that. I think that a lot of great artists have come out of it. Carrie Underwood sang the national anthem at the Super Bowl. I will say this. Some of the people that have won American Idol really, really are talented people. Some of them can. Some of them. But how many has there been now? I thought there could only be one American Idol. Why is there like 13 seasons? Well, there's one American Idol a season. But there's, you know. Stop it. What about Miss America? I don't know what it is, but it happens every day at 620. I have a new computer. It ain't me. It ain't me. And did you hear about Howard Stern?
Howard Stern is rumored to be going to Idol to replace Simon Cowell. That also turns my stomach. I think it's brilliant. See, I like that. Same reason. Because, what, it ruins the integrity of Stern? He loves the show. Yeah, he does. Yeah, but he's got no place there. Why? What musical background does he have? If you have one person on that panel that has musical background, you're good to go. Then what you need to fill in with is people that are just talented. Stern's funny. There you go. People could say the same thing about us, though. I mean, or Woods, who picks the music that we play going in and out of every break. People may be listening right now thinking, why is he picking the music? He's just, you know. The kid knows music. That's why. He's not a program director. He doesn't, you know. That's why. That's life. But he's not giving artists suggestions. Why are you picking up my music? The kid knows music. Hey, listen. When I put together. the cast here for the new Mikey show all I said is I want interesting people that will I want interesting people that if we were all sitting at a table at a Starbucks you would be like I want to sit with them well I see what they're doing I know what they're doing with the show my little marketing brain is like kicking in because
There's only going to be so much they can just keep repeating the same exact season and have the same success that they have. So they're turning it into a little bit of a comedy as well as, you know, I mean, it's already incidentally funny, but they're going to make it intentionally funny with people like Ellen and Stern. I think that in order for things to be popular long term, they have to change. Yeah, you have to. I don't like it with my when I was at the other station. One of the things that I was constantly doing was going. We got to make this different. We have to change this component or that component or whatever. Because I'll do, like, that opening song that I do, I'll do that for a few years, and then I'll go, we got to change it. Yeah. Because I don't want people to go, it's the same, predictable, blah, blah, blah. Like, that's my nightmare. Yeah, no doubt. That's my nightmare. You have to change with the times. What do you think about Howard Stern, though? I think that he'll be funny. I think, I mean, when I found out that this is Simon Cowell's last season, I was like, the show's over. They're done. It has no chance. And I would have never in a million years guessed Howard Stern, but I think it's brilliant. Is it going to happen? What does Stern say about it? Stern says that basically he said if the money's right, he'll do it. He said they'd have to pay me a ton of dough because I already make a ton of dough. Yeah. $500 million a year or something? He said he would do the show for $100 million.
A year. So he'd take a... He would do it for less. No, no, no. He makes $20 a year now, I think. He got a five-year deal for $100 mil, I think. No? It was a five-year deal, and it was $500 million. But what you have to understand about that was that was an entire show budget. So that $500 million had to run, had to pay all the different people on the show. It had to do a few... It functioned in a few different ways. What does he pull down? $50? No, no, more than that. Good Lord, man. He makes so much money. I love him. If he was on Idol, I'd watch it. He makes giraffe money. Giraffe? Giraffe. Like he could own a giraffe. Oh, yeah. That's a great way to put it. Call that long money. You know what I mean? I've never heard that before. I just made it up. I like that. That's genius. He makes giraffe money. I like that. Because somebody will always go, what does that mean? You go, dude could buy a giraffe if he wanted to. Yeah, he could buy a giraffe money. He makes hippopotamus money. For real. Just fill in the blank, but whatever weird animal you want. It's true. Oh, and Sarah Palin, I don't know if you heard about this, but she did some speech the other day. Over the weekend. Over the weekend. And this is all over the news, and it's like a big deal that she had a cheat sheet written on her hand. She did. That's how I got through college. Yeah, so you better, see, I know Woodsy can't stand Sarah Palin. You better be careful when you start criticizing her, because a kid did it too, right? Every day.
So we'll do that for you. Oh, Toyota recalling 400,000 more cars and I'll tell you what kind. You might be driving one right now. Be careful. And we're going to be doing a newlywed game for you little cute couples out there that want to have a nice dinner on Valentine's. Ooh la la. Nice. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And she was caught with a little cheat sheet on her hand while she was speaking. Oh, man. The web researchers have zoomed up on her left palm and found the words that were written. What? Would you like to know what they are? Yes. Energy, budget cuts with budget crossed out. Tax, lift American spirits. Did she write it on her hand? Yeah. On her hand. Yeah.
Just, I think, probably to keep her on track of the order of things she wants to talk about. It's not that bad. On her hand. I'm intensely annoyed right now. I write my address on my hand sometimes, too. Just in case. She just wanted to keep her on track. Sarah, do you do that so you get home? Sometimes I need to know, Mikey, how to get home. What's the problem with writing something on your hand to get home? What's the matter with Sarah writing something on her hand just to find out how to get home? Can't you put it on a note card? Maybe you could, but maybe she doesn't prefer the note card. Just write it up and down her arm? Yeah. People will see the note card. My hand is always on my arm. What's wrong? See, it's on her arm already. You can do a speech with a piece of paper in front of you. You don't need to write it on your hand. You can do a speech with a piece of paper right behind you. Yeah, you can do that too. Woodsy, did you ever think of that? She's green. That's right. She will waste paper. I'm so irritated that people are making a big deal out of it. Weird. I don't think it's that big of a deal. Who cares? Well, okay, okay. Well, there was one little thing. Apparently she was, she made a little jab against Obama using teleprompters too. He does. Wait, what? He does. She wrote a joke in on the teleprompter? No, no, no, no, no. Obama, when he gives his speeches, he's reading a teleprompter. So she made a little jab. So people are like, well, she wrote a couple of words on her hand. It's the same thing. She writes it on her hand.
Yeah, but I don't think it's a big deal. That kept her in order. I think that's hysterical. She probably didn't even write it. She probably got it from her speech later. She didn't want people to know. You know, your hand, you just kind of... Amazing. Yeah, you guys want to hear what Obama sounds like when he doesn't have a teleprompter working? Yeah. Everybody knows that it makes no sense that you send a kid to the emergency room for a treatable illness like asthma. They end up taking... By the way, before I go any further... As you know, I'm a conservative Republican, okay? Yes. And earlier we were talking about American Idol, okay? I believe that the president of the United States is our president because he won a popularity contest. Not because he had any experience, but because as an orator, he's fantastic. What he won was your heart. But he won the electoral votes, not just the popular. I'm not surprised that he didn't win. All of it. And the reason is because he is the American Idol. I can smell what Barack is cooking. Yeah, I know you can. I know you can. But the deal is, is that a lot of Barack was, in my opinion, smoking mirrors. Now, again, here's Barack speaking, doing his Barack thing, man, sounding Barack. But the teleprompter goes out. You send a kid to the emergency room.
For a treatable illness like asthma. They end up taking up a hospital bed. It costs, when, if you, they just gave, you gave them treatment early. And they got some treatment. And a breathalyzer. Or an inhalator. Did he say breathalyzer? A Budweiser? Did he say breathalyzer? I haven't had much sleep in the last 48 hours, so. And the teleprompter went out, too. What they'll say is, well, it costs too much money. But, you know what? It would cost about the same as what we would spend over the course of 10 years. It would cost what it would cost us. Say it. All right. Wait for it. Say it. We're going to. It would cost us about the same as it would cost. Why are you tense? So tense. Why are you tense? I mean, the guys.
The guy knows all this stuff, obviously. I mean, he's a president. I will say, having read a teleprompter in my past before, if it all of a sudden just gets all jumbled and everything, that is stressful. Imagine if that happened to you, Mikey. Imagine if the whiteboard all of a sudden went blank. 100%. The only difference between me and Barack Obama is that I'm a dopey radio host whose job it is to know, like, you know. A couple things about a couple things. I'm not running the country. That's the scary thing. It's like, doesn't he know what he's talking about? Didn't he write this? No, they never write that. No, he didn't write it. I know there's a lot of people going, oh, you're such a hater. You are smiky. How many times did George Bush go, if you fool me once, you can't fool me again. He's the dopiest communicator in the world. No doubt. No doubt about it. But what I'm saying is, and during the whole thing, I was going, listen. This Barack Obama is a very handsome guy who speaks very, very well. But I don't think that he's prepared to be the president of the United States of America. When was that speech from? During the campaign. It was? Yeah, you know why you didn't hear about it? It's called the liberal left. And the liberal left was like, that happened? Yeah, we don't need to talk about that. My wife gave me a great piece of advice because I used to rip W daily. Because I don't know that there's ever been a bigger moron, ever.
But she said, listen, he's the president now, and you've got to get behind him because this is your country. You've got to stand behind the guy in office. And that was a good point. And I want to say this. I am rooting for Barack Obama because I love our country, man. Absolutely. And I do support him. I do. I don't agree with him on a lot of issues, but I support him, and I'm rooting for him, and I pray for the dude. I do because I want good for the country. No doubt. That's funny, though. It's funny. Hold on one second. I can't hear myself. But I'm glad you're fired up, though. I'm glad. Oh, it's so bad. I can't believe I never heard this. I can. I can believe it. 570-1949-949-mikey at gmail.com. My brother actually campaigned for Barack Obama. Really? Oh, yeah. My brother's into it. Doesn't even want to discuss that video. Like we get into the conversation. He goes, next. Let's talk about something else. Doesn't even want to discuss it. I go, but what? And he goes, well, George Bush. I go, okay, okay. I know. George Bush was dopey. We know that. The guy had a dopey way of communicating. We are known as the M1 Nation.
You can call us 570-1949 or text us 949mikey at gmail.com. Okay, so Toyota is recalling 400. It's not been a good month for Toyota. They announced this morning and they apologized. They announced the global recall of more than 400,000 of their 2010 hybrid models, including the Prius. And another one is called the Psy, but apparently that one's mainly in Japan because I've never even heard of it. And the Lexus HS250H was also in the list of automobiles being recalled. It's Japanese, so I don't know what it means. A worldwide recall of over 437,000 vehicles, to be exact. So do they have to fix everything? Yeah, apparently there just are problems with the anti-lock braking system, so they can't sell anymore. The official name for the anti-lock braking system. Okay. Where do you find that? I'm just saying. I don't know the actual and official name of it. Sorry? Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay. That is awful. Okay. Okay. The part failed, and I think that's what... Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So anyway, that is the deal. I feel bad for Toyota, because I love Toyota. I think Toyotas are great, man. You put... My dad told me this about Toyotas and Hondas. He says, you put oil in them every 3,000 miles. You can run them into the ground. You're done. Yep.
It's the truth. Mikey, you never need to feel bad for a multi-billion dollar corporation. Right. I do, though. Don't lose any sleep over it. They're a good product. And so that's why I feel for them. Well, in a couple months, it'll be the best time to buy a Toyota. Because the price will go down because of all this? Mm-hmm. Could be. You know the last week when they were having the accelerator problems? Yeah. That was last week. Over 8 million Toyotas were recalled. I'm sure this is the same deal. I'm sure the Prius is, they're finding out that it's probably the same deal. Well, now it's the brakes, which is scarier. Well, they just couldn't keep, there were so many people that wanted the Prius that they probably just couldn't get them out fast enough. I was trying to get one myself and there was a waiting list. That's weird. How crazy is that? Weird that you wanted a Prius. Yeah, I can't imagine that you would have wanted a Prius. I know. Most people would think I would drive a Humvee or something. I know. You're drinking herbal swamp water right now. Yeah. So why does it surprise you? Why would you want a Prius? Yeah. It's weird. I like that they can creep up on people. You just think they're funny. Yeah. They can creep up on people. They are so quiet. Yeah, they are. A little wind up in the back. Let's see. 570-1949. Text Mikey. No, 949mikey at gmail.com. Here's the deal.
we are going to have a couple of newlywed couples come in. So if that's you. Jay, how should we do it? Should we have people call or should we have people do it that way? Or how should we have people do it? They could email me or they could call in, whatever they want to do. Okay. Jay at MikeyShow.com or you can call us if you would like to take part in the newlywed game. What day are we going to do it, Jay? I had to slide it for tomorrow. Okay, cool. So if you can come in tomorrow. to the station and be a part of the newlywed game, then it'll be really great. We'll give you a nice dinner out. It'll be really cool. We're doing it because it's, you know, it's Valentine's time. And we're trying to get all lovey-dovey. Trying to help out, but guys don't have any plans yet. Yeah. I made reservations for us last night. You did? I did. Nice. Where are we going? We're going to a nice place downtown La Jolla on Prospect. Look at you. Did he ask you to make the reservation? Yeah. You did? Yeah. I would have too. I probably would have. Yeah, you would have forgotten. Would you just call and make the reservation? Sure. Yeah, why not? You would have forgotten. That's a guy. Would you do it or would your wife do it? I would do it. You would do it? Yeah, all the time. I don't mind. I mean. It is my wife. He already has a little something planned. He's hinted. So I'm like, okay, I'll do this then. That's pretty sweet. Balls in your court. That's right. Yesterday, we asked Lauren about Valentine's Day.
They're like, Lauren, are you going to do it? She's like, yeah. I guess. I guess. I have to. I have to do something symbolic of my love. I guess I will. Well, it's funny because Matt's sister listens to the show. Yeah. And she must have been listening before he did. Yeah. And he said, oh, yeah, well, Jasmine told me that you said on the air what you were going to get me for Valentine's Day. You didn't. You didn't. And I said, I'm going to get you something. But I was scrubbing the podcast last night. You didn't. I think I made mention of making him a steak. Oh, yes. Yeah, you did. But I tapped him on the shoulder. I'm like, this is not going to happen. I'm not doing that. I will get him something. An ostrich steak. I'm not going to make a steak. Well, Steve Woods already got him a fogless mirror. I did. So that has to be scratched off the list of things he didn't get him. I hate to break your heart. But I got in the shower this morning. Was it foggy? Fogless mirror was on the ground in the shower. It must have slipped off. Did it break? No, it didn't break. But the worst part about it was it was suction cup down. So I was like trying to hurry this morning and the fogless mirror is stuck. She's all nude in the shower trying to pull up. Yeah, I was like, stupid. This is not my best angle. I will buy you guys. Let me get the change out of my car and I'll buy you guys a new one.
No, I mean, it's still functional. Has he been using it? Yeah. Good. Well, it was in there. Good. Of course. He was so excited about it yesterday. M1 Blanco, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. What's going on? I was just calling this morning to let you know if you all know about the breakfast going on, the deal going on in Denny's this morning. What is it? What, what? We have one right across the street. Talk to me. Talk to me. 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. They're giving free Grand Slams breakfasts all throughout that time. Done. Have you heard that, Woodsy? My dad wrote me in yesterday and said, hey, FYI, my dad can sniff out a deal anywhere. And he said, FYI, tomorrow free Grand Slams. What's the Grand Slams? I think it's like two eggs, two bacon, two sausage, two pancakes. Like it's a meal. Free? Free. Why? Gratis. Delicious. Delicious. Why are they doing that? My mouth is watering. I know. Come back, kid? I don't know. Come back, yeah. So you try it, you love it, you come back. Oh, yeah. Who doesn't love Denny's? It's awesome. It's amazing. Oh, my gosh, dude. Thank you for the info. Show breakfast. No problem, man. No problem. Hope you enjoy it. Thanks, brother. Yeah, show breakfast. My wife, I know what's in my lunchbox already. Brie. I haven't looked. I haven't looked. Goat cheese pizza. No. Nut crusted brie. Nut crusted brie. They're giving me a hard time. Garlic pita chips. This is a like.
Because I'm a foodie. I was at Mikey's house looking. All I wanted was a sandwich. I think I even called Sienna. I was like, I don't know where Mikey is. I haven't eaten in like 24 hours. He did. I don't want organic soy. I don't know what to eat. I'm dying. So I was eating bags of Lay's. Look who's the health nut now. Look who's the health nut now. I think I did call you. You did. I was like, I don't know what to do. I'm starving. I'm starving. What did you tell him? I haven't seen Mike. And I said, I was just like, isn't there chips or something in there? And he said, that's all I've been eating. Did you find chips? Yes. There's nothing to eat in the house. Well, here's the deal. So yesterday I went to Pickup Sticks, which is Chinese food. I haven't looked in there yet, but I have a feeling just by the sheer weight of my wife. Yeah. I brought home the containers, okay? And my wife won't take it out. of the boxes that they came in and put it into smaller ones because it grosses her out. It is kind of gross. So she just takes the whole container and puts it into my little lunch pail. Can I open it and see what's in there? Go ahead. Let's see if that's what it is. What a terrible, terrible wife packing your lunch for you. I'm not. Not the way that you want it done. Not the way you like it. The guy likes it a certain way. Gosh. All right. Let's open this bad boy up. I love my wife. My wife is awesome for packing it.
I don't know what I'm going to do with it. Oh, Tagalongs. Oh. She put a couple of Tagalongs? Just two. There's three. Three. Portioned in a tiny little bag. The Girl Scout cookies. Look at Jay's mouth is watering. That's right. With the peanut butter. That's right. Oh, we got something with the dinosaur. Oh, look it. She left it in the bag. She did. You called it, dude. The P.F. Chang's to-go bag with two. Pick up sticks. Oh, it smells really good. With two cardboard containers and a thing of sauce. Gross as far out. What are these? These are heavy. Leftover Chinese is not that solid, though, dude. No, it's not. It's just now the rice gets all hard. Yeah. It's crunchy. I have a cure for that. You stick it in a bowl. You take a paper towel. You wet the paper towel and wring it out and put the paper towel over the bowl and put it in the microwave. Nice. And I'll try that. What do you do if you don't have a microwave? Do it over your open campfire. Yeah. I think it's funny, Mike. He can figure out how to make rice moist, but he can't figure out how to operate the microwave. That's something's not right. It's true. I went to the microwave here in the building and couldn't operate it. Lauren goes, do you need a boost? I go, that's not the problem. A boost? That's besides the point. Yes. But yes, I do need a boost. Stand on these phone books, please.
What was it? It was asking for the power level. And you're like, I don't know. Just heat it up. Every microwave in the world, all you have to do is hit 100 start. And this one, I hit one and nothing happens. You have a question mark on the screen. I'm like, I look at it and I go, is this broke? And I see popcorn, de-thaw, blah, blah. And I'm like. PC load letter. Add paper. I'm like, I don't know. Combo fax machine slash microwave. It's ridiculous. Okay, what else do I have? Oh, Michael Jackson's dad, Joe, went on Larry King last night, and he was asked if he thought that more people were involved in Michael Jackson's death. And wait till you hear what he said. It's your favorite band, pal. This is the halftime performance. That's right. Yeah, Matt asked me if we did. He's like, did you guys talk about how boring that was? Oh, God. Woodsy loved it. That was great. My dad is convinced that they lip synced. He's convinced. They did not. It's like, they absolutely. Yeah, it was great seeing everyone's grandfather playing pinball wizard in the Super Bowl. On FM 94.9. It's time for What's Cooking at Cox with Sam the Cooking Guy. You know, sometimes...

It's a great song. Is that Wade Phillips? Is that the Red Hot Chili Peppers? It is. My least favorite band of all time. I'll explain. There are certain bands that for whatever reason, they're not your thing, right? Right. I don't speak Red Hot Chili Peppers. And the reason is because it doesn't matter what the song is. I'm always like...
First time I hear it, I go, oh, I think I've heard this 900 times. First time I heard Californication, I was like... And I'm just like, wow, that's like ambient. I've never heard that, dude. Oh, man. I've said that for years. And I've played them, too. I like them. Whiny today, I'm sorry. That's okay. I am, though. I feel like I'm whiny today. 5701949. 949 Mikey. at gmail.com if you'd like to reach us by text. And we're talking about a few things today. One of the things we talked about was the recall on the Toyotas. 400,000 hybrids they're recalling. It's a lot, man. It's a lot of angry hippies, dude. It is. A lot of angry hippies. That's right. And hipsters. And hipsters, yes. Yes. Hippies.
And hipster. Yeah, just furious. It's like having a small dog in Hollywood. Is it? Oh, yeah, I guess it is. It's like a purse dog. You don't worry about purse dogs. So this is Joe Jackson, Michael Jackson's dad. Do you know, Joe, what your daughter means by other people and other things they did? Do you know what she's referring to? What is the problem? What are you finding so... What? You're still alive, Larry? I'm... I just celebrated my 92nd anniversary with my wife. How old is your new wife? 114. You want to know how old I am? How old? I have a musket wound in my butt. I dated Pocahontas. Before it was PC. Took a lot of flack for that. I bet. You know, when Abe Lincoln and I got steaks together...
The one thing I used to kid that jerk about was how rare it was. Abe, it's like it's still moving. The guy's old, okay? He's old as dirt. Fine, fine. I think she was referring to people that was behind all of this, not just Dr. Murray himself. Like what people? All those people that was involved with Michael. I don't know. exactly what all of the names are, but sure, there was a whole slew of them. You know who was funny? Shirley Temple. She was adorable. No, I mean in her 40s when I met her. I was 58 at the time. That was like 1940, wasn't it? Yeah, 1940. Enough that they would find out everything from Dr. Murray.
Crazy stuff, man. Imagine that. He says some crazy things. And Dr. Conrad Murray, in case you don't know, he got arraigned yesterday. And this was the deal. Conrad Robert Murray. Is that your true name, sir? No, it isn't. It's actually Melissa Tubert. Can you be? Council, wait for the reading. We're going to wait. You're waiting at a complaint judge and just enter our plea of not guilty to that complaint. All right. Not guilty. Please enter. That's weird, man. When you look back on that story of what happened with the Michael Jackson deal and all the stuff that he was giving him. Yeah. He was charged three times. $75,000 is his bail. He was charged three times more than the regular person that's charged with involuntary manslaughter. Really? Yeah. Oh, my gosh. I know. He can't leave the country. His passport was taken away. I mean. If he makes bail. Wow. Yeah, well, I mean, he was giving him some really whacked out stuff. Yeah. It's pretty sad. Stuff he wasn't supposed to be giving him. Woodsy. Yes. What do we got going on in the sporting world?
It's always pretty lame, dude, after the Super Bowl. I know, there's nothing, right? I was really sad driving to work. I'm like, what am I going to talk about today? It's a real bedtime where there's nothing happening. I mean, it's, you know, whatever. But we got some cool audio. Drew Brees talking about his favorite Super Bowl moment. Can you guys guess what that is? I bet it was the kid. Check it out. It would definitely be holding my son on the... The trophy tower at the end of the game, just looking out at the crowd, all the Saints fans, just everyone so elated. The confetti coming down on us and just trying to take in the moment and just realize what we had accomplished. And it was a very special moment. Drew Brees holding his little boy was one of the most powerful images I've ever seen on television. That's going to be on the cover of magazines and newspapers. It was already on the newspaper yesterday. So that Super Bowl was the highest. viewed program ever. Are you serious? It beat, guess what? MASH. MASH. Did it? Worst show ever. It beat Friends the last episode? Yeah, it beat the snot out of that one. Wait, I thought the Super Bowl was always the most viewed program. MASH was holding it since 83. What was it? The Super Bowl got like 106 and a half million. 106 million viewers. MASH had 106, right? Yeah, 106 something. I always found it so strange.
When the publisher's clearinghouse used to come to people's doors, and if people weren't watching the Super Bowl, when they came to their door and they were like, oh, what are you guys doing here? I was like, who's not watching the Super Bowl? Why did they stop doing the publisher's clearinghouse deal? They went bankrupt. I don't know. Ran out of money. Yeah, they ran out. So the big winners in, also the big winners were advertisers and the network. They made a ton of dough. Yeah. The best commercials they said that were most TiVo'd were the Doritos ads. They said those were just huge. Made by just regular people. Regular dudes. Also, the very hush-hush secretly filmed CBS promo with Letterman Leno and Oprah came in second. What? Now, I have a little something about that. Cool. And a little bit later, because we, I don't know if you know anything about that commercial. David Letterman and Jay Leno, who are very widely known to not like each other. Haven't liked each other for years. Been real bad blood between those two guys. And during the Super Bowl, a commercial comes on for Letterman's show and Jay is in the commercial. They're sitting on a couch together with Oprah Winfrey in between them. And we talked about it, how it confused us. How did NBC let him do that? Why would he do that?
And so last night, Jay explained in detail exactly how it all went down, and I'll play that for you in a little bit. Killer. Also, your boy Bauman, the champ, is not very happy this morning as his Longhorns lost to the number one Kansas Jayhawks last night, and that's college basketball, Mike. All right. Okay. That's their fifth loss in seven games. Boring. Yes. Mike, who cares about the Longhorns? I know. I know, but Kansas is the number one team and pretty much the favorite. That's the state of what's happening in sports right now. I'm telling you also. Oh, I've got other cool audio about the rabid, rabid, crazy New Orleans Saints fans. Yeah, it was a party all night last night. I think some of those people came straight here because at 830 in the morning, six hours before the team touchdown, people were already starting to line the streets. We had a police lieutenant tell us they thought they had about 10,000 people here. And there were people who were excited. There were people who were emotional. There were some people talking today about how this win restored their faith. Hey, that all the economic problems of the city aren't solved here yet. But this Saints win convinced them that, yes, good things can happen to them again.
We talked to players and they said they felt much the same way. Today's Fat Tuesday, right? Is it? I think so. No, is it really? Yeah. I thought it was, oh, you may be right. Yeah, so it's like going to be a non-stop party. Oh, my God. From Sunday to Sunday. Mardi Gras and the Saints win the Super Bowl. Yeah, it's amazing. It was just such an incredible story. And, you know, everything that it's done for that city and everything that city's been through, it's amazing. So they turned out in droves to come see the guys fly back in. And as you guys heard, Drew is kicking it down at Disney World. Just having a ball. Isn't that cool? That is awesome. That's very, very cool. Also, we had some interesting day yesterday with the Steve Phillips gentleman that was on... Do you guys know who Steve Phillips is? Do you guys know Steve Phillips? The ESPN guy? He was the ESPN analyst that got fired from ESPN because he cheated on his wife with a 22-year-old girl. Guy looks like every...
general manager of a radio station that I've ever worked for in my life. As soon as I saw him, I went, that guy looks like he would be a general manager at a radio station. Very handsome. This is general managers. They're always very handsome. Sharp. Sharp dudes. Been married for a while and had an affair with a 22-year-old girl. Dude's probably in his 40s, right? Yep, he's in his 40s. And it became public. And it got weird, man, because this girl, like, showed up to his house and wanted to tell his wife and wrote his wife a letter saying, I want you to know what's been going on with us and da-da-da-da-da. It was super creepy. Yeah, but how does anyone that has a relationship like that expect it to end any differently? I know. And not get caught somebody as high-profile as that dude. Yeah. Absolutely. Well, this was him on the Today Show. With all that's happened with your family, with your career, with the sex treatment facility, you could have come out and you could have gone completely underground. And I'm just curious why you decided to talk to us. Well, it was hard to watch that lead in. That was sad. There's a lot of sadness there. I think I look at it and I think that what people need to understand, what I want to do is take ownership. I mean, I made some mistakes. And people look at sex addiction as an excuse.
It's not an excuse. I'm fully responsible for everything I did and accept responsibility for that. Sex addiction is a diagnosis. It's what you recognize, the problem that you have, where you have to go and try to get some help. You know he was at the same place that Mr. Tiger Woods was at. Must be the best place in the country that specializes in sex addiction. It's got to be. Lauren O'Brien. Disgusted, right? Okay, I believe that there are people that do. have that addiction out there but i believe that this is some sort of scapegoat that these high profile guys or probably any guy for that matter they're just resorting to that to be like honey it wasn't me because they got caught well they got you get caught you know you get caught you're gonna you're gonna go to some some extreme i would hope that the women their wives do not think that it's okay because they go to this place i mean she took them back they're working through it but i think because they're high profile they they need to show the public they're sorry and they're gonna work on it so i think that's their only reason they that they do that you know they just want to be like i'm working on it i'm working on it i'm not sure how i feel about sex addiction because i'm an addict right you know i uh i'm a recovering alcoholic so i i don't know how i feel about sex addiction i mean i think about it and i go
I'm guessing that sex addiction means that you can't stop having sex with a whole bunch of different women. I think it's the euphoric feeling that you get when you're actually having intercourse, that they're addicted to that, the chemical release that happens. Isn't everybody? Doesn't everybody like that? Doesn't everyone love that? But I mean, I'm saying like... I mean, it's probably the thrill of the chase for a guy like that. And he's, you know, he's a high profile guy. She was a 22 year old intern. But the thing is, is I mean, if they were addicted to that feeling like, hello, you have a wife. You would think you can get it more than usual. By the way, that's why that's the design. That's why you got married. You got a wife. You don't have to work hard anymore, my friend. You don't have to work at it, bro. Just go home. Hi, honey. I'm home. I had a great day. Make it right. That can't always be true, Lauren. I wouldn't think so. I mean, there has to be a point where if you are an actual addict, you want it more than the normal person. Yeah, check it out. He does. He talks a little bit more about it and tries to explain it, I guess, here.
People do think for someone of high profile who gets caught in a scandal, this is kind of a modern-day get-out-of-jail-free card. What is the criteria? Yeah, I recognized in August that I had a real problem, that I was a sex addict and I needed to get help. I started calling facilities in August well before everything blew up and before... Does that mean, Steve, that you were having sex with more than just Brooke Hundley? Hundley? Yes, he was. It's been well documented. Really? Yeah, well documented that he's had this problem for a long time. There really was a problem where I ended up losing my job. I ended up making the decision to go get treatment on a Friday before the Sunday where I got fired. So I was going to go get help. I knew I had a problem. I needed to get help. I think it's the compulsion where you can't stop yourself, where you understand the consequences. You know, the first step of the 12 steps is that you're powerless over your addiction and your life. Go ahead, Lauren. He's going to use the 12 steps now to apply to his cheating. I'm assuming, yeah, that if he's saying that he's an addict, that would apply to the 12 steps. For sure. So you either buy that it's an addiction or you don't buy that it's an addiction. I could be convinced maybe with a very compelling case that it's an addiction. But I don't think it runs as rampant as these celebrities or high profile people are making it to be.
I just think that it's absolutely not an addiction. There are people who like it and seek it more than others because those people are just the ones that should never get married in general because they like to taste the rainbow, if you know what I mean. You know, I mean, I know people that are like that. I'm tired of the green Skittle. I want to try the red Skittle. Exactly. And there's nothing wrong with that. But if you know you're that kind of person, then don't get married because you're not going to change. Fair enough. Yeah, Steve Woods put it best one time when he said, listen, problems, they don't stop just because you change states. Right. You got to fix stuff. That's right. You know, and it's true. Now, my deal, you know me, my deal is I have been addicted to everything. I'm an addict. I can get addicted to anything. Food, alcohol, cocaine, anything. Diet, root beer. Diet, root beer, anything. Now, for me, I realized that in my life, I was trying to fill a God-shaped hole with everything else but God. Sure. And that's what it came down to for me. I figured that out. Everything changed. Manageable. It wasn't anybody else. It was me. I couldn't stop myself from doing the things that I was doing, even knowing the consequences. Married. Great job. Great career. And I risked all of that.
risked all of that to act out the way that I did. Beautiful wife, too, dude. Yeah. They always are, too. Marnie? Yeah. And the intern? Eh, not so much. But that's what I'm, I mean, it's all about the chase for them, which is why I say if you're like that, like, there's nothing wrong. I mean, that's who you are. That's fine. Just don't get married, you know? Being a philanderer is okay. It's just, I mean, it is. If that's what you're into, cool. I mean, I'm telling you, I know people that are like that, and it's just like. Whatever works for you, but just... I don't think that works. Now, they'll tell you differently, but I don't believe that works for anybody. Right. I believe that, because I've been that dude, you know, and I don't think that that works for anybody. But here he is talking about his mistress, Brooke. You lost your job, but so did Brooke Hundley. And she was young, 22 or 23 at the time, as she said in that piece. So she's a victim also. A victim? She lost her job. I can think of a few other words. Wait, wait, wait. I don't know that she's a victim. A victim is when you're driving down the street and you stop at a red light and somebody comes up to your car with a gun.
And they tell you to get out of the car, and you do, and they get in and speed off in your car. Sure. Then you're called a victim. That's one definition of victim, but I think she's a victim, too. She lost her job. She lost her career. Okay, but wait a minute. Isn't it another thing when you're driving down the street and you come to a red light and you say, I think I'd like to participate in something that you're offering. I think I would like to willingly participate in something. In this illegal activity. In this illegal activity. What's illegal about having sex with somebody? It's just a metaphor. She knew it was wrong. Well, yeah. She made a choice. She lost her job because of it. She probably signed a policy that said no relations with your supervisor. I thought that a victim was somebody that had something done to them. Out of their control. Out of their control. Fair enough. And in this one, I'm like, well, I thought she takes two to tango, I guess. But, you know, that's it's there is fallout. And she was a victim of some of that fallout. OK, by losing her gig and being kind of dragged through the mud. I mean, she did go crazy, I guess. OK, well, this is what we'll agree on then.
Different wording. You call it victim. I call it consequence. Sure. Consequence. Absolutely. Okay. Say she chose to be in the relationship. If you could talk to her, first of all, have you spoken to her? No. What would you say to her? Yeah, I don't think it would be appropriate. I mean, the way I look at it is all of that is in the past. My focus is trying to move forward, trying to save my family. I'm not wishing ill on anybody. I think everybody needs to move on with their lives and try to put the pieces back together. Completely inappropriate for him to be talking to her right now. Yeah, I gave her a call last night, Matt. Yeah, we caught up. You just said, what are you up to? Boy, I'll tell you, those leaves are starting to change out there, aren't they? Aren't they up here in Connecticut? It's so weird. The basis of sex addiction from Steve. And by the way, I should mention, this is not the first time you've gone to a clinic like that. So clearly the first time it didn't work. Did you guys know that? No. I did. Oh, I didn't know that. He was actually, I think he resigned from the Mets. when there was about to be a scandal. He was the Mets general manager. He's in New York City as the GM of the New York Mets. Huge, huge position. And some things had come out about an affair with him and a co-worker, and I think he was one of those deals where they're like, you either resign or you're canned. Really? So then he went to ESPN. Really? Oh, yeah. The guy's shady. M1 Danny can define a sex addict. What's up, Danny? What's up, Mikey? What's up, Danny? I'm no expert.
Now, are we talking a porn addict, or are we talking a having sex with women addict? But there was also another girl on there who, like, needed to go out there and just experience, like, a connection with a guy and a specific type of guy that kind of looked like her dad. Oh. No way. Yeah. So it varies from all kinds of things. Daddy issues. Yeah. I mean, yeah, it's pretty crazy. Gnarly. Yeah. And some people, they, like, didn't leave their bed because they were doing stuff, you know, to themselves all day. And that's all they thought about and that's all they did for months and years. No way. It's a real addiction. If you saw that show, you would see it to the full extent. And with a dude like that, that's got some money, he's got some power, he's got some prestige, you could see how easy it would be for him to fall into something like that.
Thanks, Danny. I just think the whole thing is just nuts. It was crazy. I'm thinking of Tiger Woods this whole time, too, and I'm thinking, you know, he's in the same place. Was he really addicted? I just have such a hard time seeing. Of course everyone wants it. Of course everyone wants it every day, you know? But, like, really you can't go on with your day without it? I don't think there's any question that Tiger had a... serious serious serious problem really serious problem why do you think that because of i mean and again you gotta you gotta take some stories with a grain of salt but some of the stories that have come out and you know usually where there's smoke there's fire i mean the guy's dropping 30k a night on escorts and it's just like dude but do you think maybe he just got shown the way by a couple of bad boys you know what i think it is i think it's a psychological malady i think here's what happens it's With alcohol, you drink, you drink, you drink, right? And then you drink so much that you drink to a point where it becomes a physical necessity. Yep. When I was at the worst of my alcoholism, my hands would shake until I got the first drink in me. Okay. It could be, I don't know, but it could be that they, because of who they are, they are able to have sex with so many people. That's exactly right. That it gets to a point.
Where now they can't stop it. You can't stop, man. I mean, Tiger Woods walks in a restaurant. I mean, he slept with a manager at Perkins, which is like a Denny's, like an IHOP, right? I mean, he walks into Perkins to get a sandwich and it's, hi, where are you staying? Give me your room number. And he's like, okay. It's really amazing that it took so long to get out when you think of stuff like that happening. You know the manager from Perkins is going home and calling her girlfriends. I'm sure they wouldn't leave her, though. It's just crazy, right? They're like, no, you didn't. You're the manager of Perkins. Come on. Get over yourself. You're healed, you're repaired, you're better able to deal with it? Yeah, the first time that back in 98, you're referencing with the meds, when I had another scandal, I didn't go to a clinic. I just got some local therapy and really didn't get diagnosed properly. So I tried to manage everything on my own. I didn't get in the system, didn't get in a program, didn't get the appropriate help that I needed. That was my issue. I didn't realize it back then. I did get to the basis of my issue, that reality that when I made a mistake.
It wasn't I made a mistake, I thought it was a mistake. That when I failed, I thought I was a failure. When I disappointed somebody, I internalize it that I am a disappointment. And that hole is something that I look for some way to medicate and fill. And most addicts that I've been around, that's been a similar story. And so I've gotten to the basis that I need to try to resolve those issues on my own. Mikey, this is a sidebar. Does anybody watch Curb Your Enthusiasm? Yeah. Do you think that that guy sounds like Marty Funkhauser? Yes. That's all I was picturing the whole time I was listening. Are you guys just speaking Mandarin Chinese? I have no idea what you guys just said. You ever watch Caribbean D's? Nope. Do you guys remember your first kiss? Absolutely. I don't want to. Why? It's the first kiss. It's awkward. It's weird. No way. Of course I do. You know that. 570-1949.

You're going to want to drink that stuff as often as you can because it tastes good and it makes you have some sustained energy. Good for those long surfs. Today we do have some waves out there as that west-northwest wind and groundswell tapers. There is a bit of northwest groundswell backing that up. A little bit smaller than yesterday but still in that waist-to-chest high zone. Occasional sets up to head high at the right times and tides.
Speaking of which, mega high tide this morning at about dawn, passing now to a lower tide this mid-afternoon or so. So look for some improvement in most spots as we get to that mid-tide range. Winds right now pretty calm, but it looks like as that cold front moves upon us, that we'll be dealing more consistently with southeast winds, which will really pretty much limit your places to surf to those more protected coves and man-made structured areas. Right now, most places do have rideable waves. Overcast skies with possible showers later in the day, too. So a lot to contend with today. So keep your eyes on it. My favorite restaurant. So good. It's not just my favorite restaurant in San Diego. It's my favorite restaurant. Love it. Food's real good. Jeffrey Strauss is the owner and the dude was from New York City.
Used to win a bunch of, you know, awards for his restaurants that he had in New York City. Came out here to vacation. Loved the place. And bought a restaurant here. Opened it up. And he basically takes normal food like hamburgers and french fries in some cases. And just makes it the best tasting burger and fries you've ever had in your life. It's incredible. But then he also does like great steaks and, you know, that kind of stuff. And it's just, the food is... It's unreal. It's phenomenal. It was really good. You have to get the dessert. The desserts are ridiculous. So good. Desserts are real good. Mikey, please tell Lauren that she owes me a new laptop. Mine is currently splattered with cereal thanks to her PC load letter. Comment. She got somebody yesterday, too, with your Sarah Palin. Snuck up on. Yeah, and we got a spit monster out all over the window. If it makes you feel any better, I'm spilling stuff all the time. Please no. That's right. This computer cost me like five grand. Please no. I know it. It's M1 Dozer. Mikey, how did you guys not know about the free Grand Slams? Every other Super Bowl commercial was for Denny's Free Tuesday. That's M1 Elroy. I had no idea. Dude. And all of us watched too. I don't remember seeing it one time. The commercials weren't spectacular. Yeah. I wasn't.
Maybe that was it because I don't remember it at all. First kiss. I remember first kiss. First kiss was nine years old. It was Krista Long and it was in her shed. She had a shed. Oh, wow. You remember those kind that you put together that your dad put together that was like made of tin? You know, those tin sheds that you put like a master lock on them? Yeah, of course. And that's where you kept your rakes. And a lawnmower. You know, and your dad. Yeah, everything. All that stuff. And we played spin the bottle in there. I was like, wait, was it just the two of you, like, in the shed at night? But you know what? I don't remember who the other people were. It was probably four of us. Yeah. But I don't remember who the other people were. She was the only one that mattered. She was the only one that mattered. It was Krista. And we spun the bottle, landed on her. She was my first kiss. You guys remember your first kiss? Of course. Same situation.
Was Spin the Bottle Cena? Of course. Fifth grade. It was at one of my friend's birthday parties. Yeah. So I was nine. You were ten when you were. Yeah. Are these like pet kisses or like French kisses? I'm starting to feel like a creep over here. Mine was not a French kiss. Mine was a kiss. I don't remember that. I remember my first French kiss. You do? Yeah. Jill Taylor. You were Frenching. Yeah, we were Frenching. That's so gross. And I think what happened, I remember I was in sixth grade and one of her friends, one of her friends said, well, she was having a party. You remember the sixth grade party? And she said, Jill wants to French you tonight. Gross. And I said, I'm in. I'm all the way in. Jill, I'm on my way in. I'm not just in. I'm all the way in. I'm in. So gross. She was the principal's daughter. Are you serious? I'm dead serious. Of course she was. Of course she was. I am marking that down. How old are you? I was in sixth grade. Really? Yeah. Frenched her real good. All right. That's good. You must have been 11. I was 12, maybe. 11, 12. Ew. Lauren said she feels like the dirty one. I do. This is really creepy. How old were you? This is going to sound so creepy. How old were you?
Either four or five. Oh, God. Weirdo. Wait, wait. This wasn't Frenching, right? No. Oh, okay. Then that would be really creepy. But it gets creepier. Why? Because I kissed the boy while he was sleeping at naptime. And then he was afraid of me the whole rest of the year. Of course he was. He was sleeping at naptime? He was sleeping at naptime. Yeah. And what grade were you in? I was in preschool. Do you remember this or did your parents tell you? No, they weren't there. I specifically remember it. I was like boy crazy from a very early age. Really? Apparently. You talked about that math? And so while he slept, did it wake him up? No, somebody else that was napping told him and he turned beet red and then avoided me the whole rest of the year. Do you remember his name? Yes. I went to all through. All through high school with him. You did? And I'm friends with him on Facebook now. Did you ever kiss him again? I could be listening live. Did you ever kiss him again? No. No, I never did. It's too bad. Your friends... Oh, by the way, I haven't seen it, but apparently Facebook is... I'm fired up. All different. So weird. I sent in a complaint. You did? Yes. Amazing. So...
Why do they have to change it? I don't know. It's not. It was perfect. And there wasn't any warning. Well, remember, they had changed it like a year ago. They changed it. And that irritated people. Yeah. Now they changed Facebook again. If you haven't been to Facebook today, they changed it. It's so confusing. You have to be a treasure hunter to get through Facebook. You know how when you had a... You know when someone would send you a message or something and have like the number in a little red box on the bottom right corner? Now the red box is in the top left corner and it's just all different. There's a globe out there and you're like, what is this globe? Yeah, it's whacked. Does anybody understand the thought process of why they think it'll be better? No. You haven't even got that far with it, huh? The internet's all about ease of use. So, I mean, there's definitely calculated things behind it. Maybe they're trying to weed out us like the older people. Maybe they're trying to get it back to a younger thing. Because if I can't figure that out, my mom is sure not figuring that out. Mine either. We hate you. Stop changing Facebook all the time. Please. Sick of it. 570-1949 is the number. Your first kiss is the topic. We got somebody that sent us a text message. She doesn't even want to say her name.
She says, I was in preschool. I had two boyfriends who were twins, Kevin and Keith. Nice. I'm not the only one. She says, we were playing Aladdin and Kevin. First of all, what is playing Aladdin? What does that mean? I mean, she's like 17 right now. Playing Aladdin is like, one's Jasmine, the other one's Prince Ali, and you're like running around, running from the bad guys. And I think Lauren's right. I think she's probably... She has to be. Right? No, I was little, and I loved Aladdin, and I probably played Aladdin. You weren't in preschool. Yeah. When Aladdin came out, you were in preschool? Dude, we're old. Let's find out. Oh, my gosh, we're old. That made me feel old. The whole Aladdin thing made me feel old. I don't know. Maybe they were, like, riding on a magic carpet when they were... That's what she says. She says that they were playing Aladdin, and Kevin and I had our first French kiss. Oh, French? French. She says he was slobbering all over me. She says I squinted and told myself to just get through it. She says we were on a slide and thank goodness someone pushed us down the slide and it was over. I'll never forget it. Doesn't even want to give her name. Aladdin came out in 92, so I was seven. Oh, my God. I was a junior in high school.
Think of what Todd's saying in his head right now. He's like, I was a college student. Todd was in college. His future wife was seven. I'm like, I was watching Aladdin. Let's get married. Todd's going to keggers. Sienna's fiance is how many years older? He's 13 and a half. It's the way it should be. That kid was driving when you were three. No, I know. It's so funny. Whenever a song comes on or something, he's like, oh, I remember the song in the bars. And I'm like, oh, really? I've never heard of it. Yeah, it was two. I was pretty sure it was a preschool. Just to mess with him, you should be like, what's Elton John? What is that? I know. Heard that word today, but I don't know what it means. Elton John. Is that a city in Canada? There's a funny story about a DJ back in Dallas named Ron Chapman, world famous DJ. And his daughter actually said. She goes, Paul McCartney was in a band before Wings? Wow. M1 Sanjaya's on the line. What's up, dude? What's up, man? Hey, man, I just wanted to tell you, my first kiss was in kindergarten. Was it really? What was his name? Start it with that. It was Mark. No. No, but it was a French kiss. And the best way to describe it was like...
Having a wet, raw piece of, like, calamari. Oh. Filthy. I was, like, filthy. I was spitting right after that. Okay, what if you're walking down the street, da-da-da, minding your own business, and you see two five-year-olds making out. Seriously. I would run over there. God, stop. I'd break it up. And be like, what are you doing? Break it up like they were fighting. Yeah. Where is your mom? Mine was at the, uh, in kindergarten by the tree. Let's meet under the tree at noon. Yeah, I remember that. I just don't remember the girl's name. You didn't do like Lauren did, though, and wait until they fell asleep so that you could cross to them while they were sleeping? No, I am a creep. That's total prayer right there. I know. Lauren's, like, crawling on hands and knees across the other sleeping kids. Slithering over there. We'll get him. He doesn't even know what's coming. I didn't even stop, though. I did it again. You did? Well, not to him. Were you addicted to it? Be honest. Were you like Steve Phillips? Yeah, but they have programs for that. You need to go to Mississippi ASAP. First time I was admitted, I think I was like four and a half. That's what? Little kids in preschool, man. They do some funny stuff. Watch out for Jake, dude. He's going to be kissing girls real soon. That kid's a good-looking kid. He is adorable. There's a kid at his school that she loves him and he loves her.
They love each other. They're going to get married. I said to my wife, I go, how cute would it be if they went to school together forever and they fell in love and got married? That would be cute. But they needed to date other people before that happened because you can't just... Why? But that's the magic of the story. From preschool? I think that's beautiful. You have no basis for comparison. I think that's beautiful. It's very Shakespearean. You have to be able to compare. You have to, like, date someone in, like, second grade or something just to make sure. Date. In second grade. Tap around. French someone else. Want to come to my Little League game? No. Share sunflower seeds. Frenching is the grossest word. It makes me think of a lizard. I've brought it back. It's so gross. It's back. Don't bring it back. It makes my mouth water and it's, like, not in a good way. I'm one redhead. Hey, guys. How you doing? Good. So when I was 13, totally, totally in love with this guy. I mean, I used to sing Mariah Carey songs about him and stuff. Which Mariah Carey song? Fantasy. Mostly my all. Which one? I give my all. You know, my all. Get it. That was really good. Thank you. So finally got my chance to kiss him.
And all I've seen were kisses in the movie, so I totally went, like, full tongue and everything, didn't know what I was doing. Nice. Licking his face. And he actually, this guy that I'm completely and totally with, totally pushes me away and says, you need to slow down. That probably wasn't humiliating at all, huh? Oh, no, of course not. Probably a really good self-esteem builder. Well, my Cinderella story is I actually started dating him about two months ago. Did you know? No way. You can go back. How old are you now? I'm 21 now. 22, 22. Do you kiss him and he's still criticizing? You figure it out. I don't use as much tongue now. Thank God for that. Have a good one, guys. Thanks for the call. Thank you. What a funny story, though. M1 Redhead. If that works out, tell the kids. That's right. M1 Kaylee, are you there? I am here. How old were you? I was in first grade, so probably like five or six, maybe. Rock on. I just remembered. That was my first kiss when I was five. I kissed somebody before Krista. I kissed somebody at my cousin's wedding, and they couldn't find us. I was a flower boy, and she was a flower girl. Your grandma doesn't count, Mike. No, I was the ring bearer, and she was the flower girl. You would have been the cutest ring bearer ever.
Can I tell you a quick story? Yes. I hate to ruin. Kaylee, I'm going to let you tell this story. I'm stealing your thunder right now. Gosh, what's the problem? I know it. But you know what I did? I tied the ring in a knot. They couldn't untie it. Nice. In the wedding. Because I was an idiot. No, you weren't. What are you doing, Mike, tying it in a knot? You probably wanted to make sure it didn't fall off. No, I probably was being mischievous. Kaylee, what happened? Okay, so in first grade, which you don't really know anything about what's going on. My first kiss wasn't even until a couple years later, but... We can put that on the air. I don't know. I had to hit the button on you on that one. We all looked at you. Yeah, we all looked at each other going, can we really put that on the radio? I don't think we can. I thought that was like a cupcake or something. Yeah, I don't think we could put that one on the air. I'll have to think of a way to describe what you were saying, but... There's not a lot of ways you can describe that, though, other than what it is. You know what I mean? Yeah. That would scar me for life. He's a very forward young man. Very assuming. Yeah, he was really taking a lot. He was little. He didn't know. I know, but he was taking quite a bit of liberty. Yeah, he was. You know, Mikey, that kind of goes along with my story. What? When I was five, the girl down the street, Linda Lemming, we would always go high in the woods.
And we got caught, and my mom grounded me from seeing her because we were actually taking all of our clothes off. Oh, my God. This is the ghetto portion of the show? This is the ghetto portion. And I got caught, and I was grounded from her, but I snuck out in the woods. We did this rendezvous meeting. And we had a little house we'd set up, and we actually set the woods on fire. What? Oh, my God. Yeah, it was a fireman showed up, and I had to talk to the fireman, and there I am. Were you clothed by that point, I hope? Partially. You were five? Jay's stories are always, like... It's so ridiculous. They're crazy. Like, how do you have all of these in that brain? How did you set the place on fire? We had matches. We decided we were going to have a fire because in your house, you need to have a fire so you can cook, obviously. And she, I can get it started, but she got it started. So then when the fireman was talking to me, I was like, it was her fault. Of course. Yeah, it's fire, kid.
That is such the perfect character name, Linda Lemming. Yeah. And Linda Lemming. It's so funny. It's like Liz Lemon or Liz whatever. It's so funny that we remember first and last name. Oh, yeah. Never forget it. Nope. Jill Taylor. Jill Taylor. How about that? You know where she is now or no? She is, I think she's in Texas somewhere. That's the mom from Home Improvement. Oh, yeah, that's right. Jill Taylor. Jill Taylor. The kids first. She's a girl with no TV. M1 Christy? Yeah. Go ahead. Hi, good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Hey, I just wanted to call and share because I think I actually had two first kisses. I was 12 before I finally had my first kiss, but the very first kiss I ever had actually happened on stage in front of about 50 of my peers because I was in a musical. And the teacher was standing there and we had to practice. It was Oklahoma and they kissed a bunch in that musical. And so we had to practice the kiss. How old? I was 12. They were having 12-year-olds do a play where there's a bunch of kissing in it? That is scary. I would be so nervous. I remember when I did Oklahoma. Did you really? No. 10 years old, my play was Caligula. It was really weird. But hey, it was a progressive school.
That's right. Well, I know. It was pretty terrifying. The teacher's standing there going, just do it. Just kiss her. Weird. I wanted to kill someone, but I've never done this before. You're like, I'm wearing a retainer. It's acting, okay? You just got to lose yourself in the part. I tried to. I tried to. So it was probably one of the first. And the thing I remember is that the boy that had to kiss me had a crusty nose. That's so filthy. That is the worst. If you have a crusty nose, maybe you're too young to be kissing. Thank you for the call. Absolutely. You guys know what, do you even know what Celebrity Fit Club is? No. TV show? It's a TV show, right? Yep. Where they take celebrities that are overweight and try to get them to use. This is like. Aren't there 17 shows with the same content? Yeah, it's always like the older celebrities that get involved and they lose weight. Like Screech from Saved by the Bell was on it. Screech? That dude's a rail. Yeah. He had to lose weight? He was. He's not anymore. It's J-Listers, you know. Yeah, J-Listers. T-Listers. T-Listers. That's exactly it. Bobby Brown was on Celebrity. What did you have for dinner? Fried chicken. Fried chicken. On a weight level.
You instantly laugh. You goof. You goof. Y'all want it out? Yeah. Whoa, whoa, whoa. We put it out there. Now listen. Fried chicken. One piece, 500 to 600 calories. What? Delicious. Wow. 500 to 600. Why did you play that? 500 what? I got to rewind that to hear that. One piece, 500 to 600 calories. 500 to 600 calories. And one piece of fried chicken. Are we talking a breast, a drum? I don't think it matters. Take the skin off. 300 calories. Told you. Well, who's doing that? That's loosely fun. Yeah. Yeah, what's the point, Lauren? I like fried chicken. You don't? No. That's crazy. It's delicious. It's so good. It's crazy delicious. When you taste it. Yeah. When it hits your lips. When you put it on your lips and you chew it. It tastes amazing. It's so good. I bet you don't like chicken on a bone, right? I do. I mean, I don't mind it, but I just would rather have grilled chicken. The fried chicken makes me feel like, ugh. Yummy? Makes you feel all yummy? It makes me feel like a bucket of Crisco. I would eat a bucket of chicken right now. Oh, yeah. If we had, if somebody walked in here, oh, yeah. If somebody walked in here right now. Some taters. Oh, for goodness sake. Gravy. I would be all over it. Oh, yeah. Thank you, Tom Cruise. I would, oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
I'm here with a bunch of fried chicken. Don't fry it. Grill it. Only 250 calories. Yeah, but then it doesn't taste as good. It sure does. It's boring. Boring. So you made a choice to consume 600 calories when some of you had the grilled chicken, right? Who had the grilled chicken? Okay. I had some of that too. You had some of that too? Yeah. And that's the second point. Portion control. Lauren won't be able to participate in this question, but I'm going to ask it. KFC? Popeyes or Churches? Dude, Churches is pretty good. It's so good. I've only been to KFC. Are you serious? Churches is money. Churches is money. Popeyes is money, too, because Popeyes makes a spicy one. And their biscuits are really good. What about Long John Silver? Do they have that here? That's fish. And they have chicken planks. They're delicious. What is a chicken plank? Did you really?
Yeah, I had the hat with a little leering on it. You're like the dude from Fast Times. I'm 100 years old. I've worked a lot of places. He's like Judge Reinhold. He's like Judge Reinhold from Fast Times. Dude, put the uniform on. Have a little pride, okay? Best job ever. Oh, I bet. Dude, they deep fried everything there. I deep fried everything. I can make 100 hush puppies in like 30 seconds. Oh, my God. Love hush puppies. How much would you love to have some... Starving. Red beans and rice. I'm starving. Spicy chicken. I have some mango. No, thanks. What do you have, Lauren? Some alfalfa sprouts? Alfalfa sprouts. No. Well, yes, on my sandwich I do. Yeah. I've got a banana. You have some raw bark to go with that banana? No, I have some raw almonds. Raw almonds. Yes. Delicious. Look, the thing is... The thing is... I... have an overactive appetite. Is that right? So I will eat if there's food in the room, no matter what it is. I guess I do too. I have to bring that stuff or otherwise I will indulge. I don't think you will though because you're, I mean, I think the rest of us would have a really hard time if there was an, maybe not Mike, you're pretty good at this too, but she'll have an open Tupperware of like carrots and blueberries or almonds or whatever. Always healthy. And you don't.
Like, eat at it. It will sit there for hours open in front of her, and it stays filled. The only reason is because I'm terrified of crunching on the mic. I know. And they're going to be like, wait, Mikey's show used to be good until that crunching started on the mic. What is that? Commercials. What is that? Oh, that's the new girl. I thought you weren't eating it because it was carrots and berries mixed together. Mixed together. That's why I thought you weren't eating it. Yeah, I'm not doing the mixed together anymore. That was gross. Jay, we got to take a break. And I want to do cheesy love songs when we come back. Let's do this. It's a game. We're going to play a game. So we're going to clear the phone lines out and have you call right now. 570-1949. Jay, do we know what a prize is yet? Yes, indeed. What do we got? We're going to give away. We'll give you something. Yeah, it's a pair of lift tickets to Snow Valley. Oh, my gosh. Done. Huge. 570-1949. What you're going to do is you're going to either pick me and pick a horse. Either me, Woods.
Lauren or Sienna? You had a little problem there for a second. What wasn't written in front of me on a teleprompter? You're going to either pick me or, hang on, like, well. Budweiser? Sorry. Yeah. What you're going to do is you're going to call right now. You're going to pick a horse. It's either going to be me, you're going to pick Woods, you're going to pick Lauren, or you're going to pick Sienna. And we're going to do, like, love song, name that tune. I don't know what they are. Pick your horse. None of us know what they are except for Jay. And what Jay's going to do is he's going to start to play it. And as soon as we recognize it, we say our name. Okay, how recent are these things? Because I'm a little bit younger. Well, you just got everybody not to pick you. Whatever, don't pick me. She's like, it has to be, you know, boy loves girl or I won't. The Ataris. Is Miley Cyrus on there? The Ataris or Miley Cyrus. Or Keith Urban. Watch. Don't pick me, but you just may make the biggest mistake of your life. Wow. Want to let people know? You can go to FM949SD.com, become an FM949 Insider, and get event invitations. Very cool. All right, would you like to win lift tickets to Snow Valley? Call us right now, 570-1949. All you have to do is pick either me, Woods, Lauren, or Sienna. We're going to be playing a game of cheesy love songs, and all we have to do is, you know, buzz in when we think we know what the song is. Sounds pretty easy. Cornell or Soundgarden? Cornell. Great stuff. I love that song. Just can't change me.
You ever hear Sun Shower by him? That's absolutely one of my top five favorite songs. It's going to be going on my ultimate mix. Lauren, you know Sun Shower? No. It's too bad. It's a real good one. Call us right now. The number is... Oh, Sun Shower, by the way? Yeah. You want to make a little mix for your girl that will drive her crazy and she'll think you're like the coolest guy ever? Mm-hmm. Do Sun Shower. Absolutely. Is this Chris Cornell or Soundgarden? Chris Cornell. It was actually, that song came off a soundtrack. Yeah, Great Expectations. Great Expectations. It's a good movie. I didn't know he wrote Gwyneth Paltrow. Is it like a ballad? Yes. It's incredible. I have it. I got it. I'll play it for you. It's incredible. Mikey wants me to like one of his songs so badly. This will be it. You'll never, I don't think it'll ever happen. No, this will be it. Every girl loves Sun Shower. And Tiffany's. We found that out yesterday. We're not starting up that combo. Sienna's glaring at me. Dude. I don't like. It's a little overproduced, I think. I hate it already. I didn't say a word. Too commercialized. Sienna. Unreal. Never heard it before. I need to hear a little bit more, though. I'm into it so far. Crawl like Ivy up my spine.
I'd like to hear him sing it. Dude. You're a different kind of genius if you write, crawl like ivy up my spine. Up my spine, through my nose. Listen to the pipes here, dude. I'm ready. This is what I'm waiting for. Ready? Bumps. Goosebumps. Oh. Still waiting for it. Oh, fuck. I'm going to vomit. I think I actually just got, I might vomit. Get. My day. I'm in, I think. Yeah. We're in. Oh, my God. You're a homo sapien, all right? You're a human being. Well, right now, I'm in the mode of listening to every song like that and thinking, could this be a first dance song? This song could be a first dance song. Yeah, Lauren's like, is this stuff that I can, like, burn books to? Best line in any song ever right here, I think. Wow. I'm telling you, I love this line.
Eyes like ocean so far away, a feather trail to a better day. Unbelievable. Maybe this song could grow on me like mold on cheese. Oh, my God. It's so brilliant. Thanks for playing that. You made my day. Where is the love? Please don't play the Black Eyed Peas. Please don't do it. I feel like, I think Matt, probably, like, for Valentine's Day or something, you would be the hardest person to shop for. He's probably, like, handing you over the gift, like... Oh, God, I'm going to get killed. I'm going to get killed. I can't get her. He's got me figured out. Dude, you can't get her. You can't, man. I've tried Cher and Peter Cetera. I mean, how can you not love that song? Peter Cetera made my heart melt. Let's play this game before I vomit. Grow like mold on a piece of cheese. M1 Ziggy, who do you want? I'm going to have Woodsy. You got Woodsy? Why am I not surprised? Hang on the line. Hang on the line. M1 Matt. Yes, sir. Who do you want? Didn't I have Sienna? You got Sienna. You got Sienna. Hang on the line. Good pick. I didn't think anyone was going to pick me. M1 Tau. I got Mikey. All right, bro. I feel like a kid on a dodgeball team. Exactly. M1 J-Dog. You got Lauren. Is that by default? Yes.
Of course it is. Because of how you feel about Cornell's sun shower. He's like, if a girl's not touched by sun shower, how can I pick her with love songs? You know what I mean? He's going to do love songs. Okay, so here's how the game works. And what is up for grabs is a pair of Snow Valley lift tickets. Nice. We're going to be playing a game of cheesy love songs, and here's how it works. I can't see them. None of us can see them. Jay is going to start the song. and stop it as soon as one of us says our name. That's how we buzz in. Title, artist, both? Title or artist. Really? Title or artist will work. And now, Jay, I've got to show you. I've got to show you. I think you've got to get the name of the song right. Yeah. And I've just got to show you something. Miguel. Correct. Correct. Wrong. You got that? I think you've got to get the name of the song right. Okay, fine. Chill out. Man, you guys are really a tough one. I know. Like, what's the big deal? No cheating, Woods. Why don't you get it? He's writing stuff on his hand. Yeah, I got notes on my hands. You want to be Sarah Palin? All right, Matt, we got this. All right, let's do it. Here comes the first one. Sorry, Mikey. That was a tie. That was a four-way tie. I said, I got it. I think Mikey had that one. Go ahead. Go, Mikey. Everything I do, I do it for you, Brian Adams. Unbelievable. Thank you very much. Wait, who's keeping score? I will.
All right, Woods, you will. Of course you will. I don't trust you. I'm going to do it, too. And how many are we going to do? Woods. There's 11. Okay. Are you keeping score red? Go ahead. I am because I don't trust you. I'm feeling so good about this now because I am such a loved one. So am I. Here we go. Mikey, tonight I celebrate my love for you. Oh, my gosh. Peebo Bryson. I am shocked. Is that Peebo Bryson? I am a love nerd. Peebo. Mark it. Mark it. Yeah, mark that. No, wait. I'm distracting. I'm keeping score. Cheater. I am in on this. Here we go. I got it. That's Celine Dion. My heart will go off. That's ridiculous. I got it. There's too many people. We need buzzers. I hate this game. What was it? I said it. Celine Dion. My heart will go off. That is correct. Very nice. How funny that you know that. Are you guys ready? Are we all ready? I'm marking.
What you said about Love Nerd. Got it. Are you guys ready to do this? I don't know. Mikey. So many nights to sit by my window. What's her name? Wait, we have to know the artist now, too? I'm counting down five seconds. Five. You lighted up my life. You lighted up my life. Yeah, you got it. What were you doing? Just going through the whole song? Yeah, I was playing it in my head. Okay, so far. I don't know who sings that. Who sings You Light Up My Life? No, You Light Up My Life by somebody, Dawn. Oh, what a great song, too. Let me hear the clip. I've got to hear the whole clip now that you've played it. It's in my heart. I must hear it. It's in my heart. So many nights. Mikey3, what's one? That's a jam. Oh, I remember this song when I was a kid. This is the jam? All I did was listen to the radio. My friend used to have a creepy bear that she got for Valentine's Day. If you squeezed it, it sang this song. It's great. I want it.
I've never heard this in my life. You haven't? No. The Black Eyed Peas don't sing it. That's right. I'm 24 years old. It's not pink. Yeah. Taylor Swift. I don't like pink. Taylor Swift cover it. All right. That's it. That's enough. Let's do another one. Okay. Mikey's smoking this. I'm ready to go. Lauren! That's not fair. I will always love you. No way. He pointed at me. I will always love you. Lauren got it. It's weak. Lauren got it. What's his score? Look at Sienna's so irritated. What's his score? There's too many people playing. Too many awesome kids. It's not fair. Mikey has three. Woods has one. Lauren has one. I have ten. Zero. Stop it. I gotta go on a run here. Lauren! I got that one, dude. Helplessly devoted to you, Olivia Newton-John. It's not helplessly. Hopelessly, I said. I said hopelessly. Come on, clown. You got it. He's terrible. He just called you a clown because you tried to help him out. Yeah, I got big red floppy shoes on, okay? Big red nose. Big clown. All right, here comes the kid making a charge. Let's do it. Mikey. Lauren got you. Lauren got it. Shoot. Wow. I forget it. You're that guy. I forget it already. You're that buzzing guy that has no clue. I had it. I lost it. Can I hear it again? Can I say it? No, Mikey can if he can steal it. Yeah, I bet Midler a wind beneath my wings.
Wow. This is really sad. You recognized it. You just didn't know it. Yeah, I know. I've got to get the next three to beat Mikey. I actually had to sing it in my head. You did? Mikey, four. Woods, two. Lauren, one. Sienna, zero. Sienna. You guys don't give me a chance. Come on. There's too many people playing. Too much pressure. I hate this. Let's do it. Okay. Mikey. Oh, stop. That is Barry Manilow. Songs? You write the songs? Lauren. No. I write the songs. The whole world sings. Keep playing it. They're out. It's me against Sienna. They're out. They're out. Barry Manilow's got to be right. And I'm going to say songs. I know it's Barry Manilow. I should know that song. Oh, Woods. Barry Manilow. I can't smile without you. So unfair. Is it? So unfair. Is it? Woodsy, you're one up ahead of Woodsy. This is the last one, isn't it? Four to three. Lauren has one. Is he already back with breakfast burritos? There's two more. I should technically have negative points for these shenanigans. There's two more. Okay. Go ahead. I don't know who it was. I do. I know it is. Was it me? I mean, was it me? It was me. I'm going to say Mikey. I forgot already. I got it. Woods. Woods, Woods, Woods, Woods, Woods. No, no, no. I second. Woods. It's Stevie Wonder. No way.
I just called to say I love you. This is ridiculous. Now we're tied, dude. This is ridiculous. I just want to apologize to everyone, Matt. This is the last one, dude. I warned you, my friend. But thanks for sticking with me. I'm going to nail this. That's... That's such a creep. That's what she said. You're the creepiest creep. Go ahead. What? Sonny and Cher, I got you, babe. Oh, my gosh. Is it over? No, there's one more. One more? Can I still win? Do I have a chance? No, you have a chance to tie. We can tie? Yeah. Yeah. What? Pants on the ground. He doesn't know the name who sings it. He doesn't know who sings it. I don't have to. Yes, you do. You made that rule yourself, my friend. No, I said you have to know the name of the song. I thought he said. I thought it was his rule. I said you have to know the name of the song, not just the artist. No, I said name of the song. You got this, Mike. Pants on the ground. Pull it back. No, you're wrong. Hey, dude, I said you have to know the name of the song. I know this one. What is it? Harry Platt, Pants on the Ground. I win.
I win. I win. No, whatever. Woodsy got the most. This game is highly flawed. What's up, dude? Highly flawed. See, I got the one that came out like a month ago. Enjoy the skiing, my friend. M1 Ziggy. Yeah. What's up, man? Woodsy just won for you, bro. You were close, Mike. I know it. The guy killed it for you. Enjoy it, kid. Good job, Wood. I was down four to two. And came back to get three out of the last five. Well done. Yeah, we all heard you. Hang on the line, M1 Ziggy. I'm exhausted. Enjoy, Ziggy. I'm going to be pouting the rest of the show. I'm sorry to Matt, Tao, and J-Dog. Yeah, me too. I'm most sorry to Matt and J-Dog, who were represented by Lauren and Sienna. Lauren and I tied with one. Dude, you were a worthy adversary. At least I tied. Thank you. Thank you. All right, what do we got? So, we talked about it. Yesterday, Leno was in a commercial with Letterman and Oprah, and it didn't make sense. Everybody was like, why? Why? Lauren is so irritated right now. I'm looking over at Lauren. She's so irritated. I love it. We're going to do that every week. No. Brilliant. We need a better system. Leno. Buzzers. And Letterman appeared in a Super Bowl commercial together, and everybody was confused.
We have the explanation and we'll give it to you because Leno explained the whole story of how it all happened and went down. Woodsy, look at Lauren's face right now. She's so mad. Her shirt matches her face. Love it. Red. My arms are crossed. Listening to The Mikey Show on FM 94.9. Looking for quality auto parts for your vehicle? Shop Craig & O'Reilly Auto Parts. Straight from the iPod of the dude that was lost in Into the Wild, he actually was listening to this, I guess, in that little bus when he was hunting squirrels in the wintertime. Hey, that's a true story. I know it is. I read the book. The book's better than the movie. Way better. That never happens. Yeah. Has there ever been a movie better than the book? Once. Hold on. No. The Shining. Oh, it's a good call. The Shining's still a really good book, though. It is, but I thought the movie killed it. Well, Nicholson, dude, will get you. He's the best. He's incredible in that movie. When he's sitting there thinking, looking out the window. Just staring? He's just staring out the window. Oh, my God. It gives me the heebie-jeebies. And when he's walking up the stairs, he's going, Lindy, I don't want to hurt you. I don't want to hurt you. I love it. I just want to bash your brains in. Amazing. The kid's just as creepy, though. Oh, Danny? Edward. Edward. Hello, Danny. Come here with us. I don't even know what you guys are talking about. And ever. And ever.
How about the old woman in the bathtub? You just freaked me out. The twins? The whole thing? The twins. Oh, my God. The whole thing. Shut it. I live by myself. We all saw it when we were kids. I live by myself. I live by myself. You need a binky. Yeah. I'm scared. I'm going to sleep over tonight. This is the scariest movie ever. They're shining. No question. Just. You don't know what The Shining is. I haven't heard of it. I've just never seen it. You need to watch it. From the sounds of it, I don't need one. Todd, you got a lot of work to do, dude. What's Elton John? You guys, I don't make fun of you when you don't know that Ellen DeGeneres is a judge on American Idol. Don't you? Yes, you do. Yes, you do. Oh, yeah, I forgot. But fair game. All right. So I said when we got back, I was going to do the explanation of why was there a commercial. That featured David Letterman and Jay Leno together. It just freaked everybody out. Yes, it did. So here is Jay explaining last night on his TV show why they were in a commercial together during the Super Bowl. Promoting Dave's show. I want to tell you a story about this commercial, how this all came to be. I'm sitting in my office. Rob Burnett, Dave's producer, calls my producer Debbie and says, Hey, Dave has an idea for a Super Bowl commercial. All right, what is it? He tells me the idea.
And this was Dave's idea, and I thought, that's great. Because, you know, no matter what animosity there is among comedians, a good joke is a good joke. And I thought, you know. And there's animosity, by the way. Oh, yeah. Big time. Jay and Dave do not like each other. No. Very well documented. And they're competitors. It just makes it all go away. So they said, we have to do this in complete secrecy. So I fly to New York. I tell my staff we have some personal business or something. I have a mustache and I have all the disguises on, you know. And I get to New York and I have all this mustache and all this stuff. And I pull up in front of Dave's studio. We're in a black SUV and all the security. We sneak in. Even Dave's staff, nobody knows anything about this. We shoot the commercial. While I walk in, I see Dave and he puts his hand and I shake hands. And, you know, whatever happened for the last 18 years. Disappeared. Awesome. Awesome. You don't think so, Lauren? That's cool. Lauren is so cynical. What do you think? You don't think that they used to still hate each other? I think Letterman probably still hates him. I think Leno's just looking for friends. Wonderful. I think he's very gracious. That's a brilliant, brilliant move by Jay Leno right now. Brilliant. Why? Brilliant. Why do you say that?
He's winning people over. I mean, people have been kind of out on the guy for everything that's happened. Who did he win over with that, though? It wasn't his idea, though. No, I know. I know, but I still think that's... I tell him the story. Oh, you mean for clowning on himself? Yeah, for clowning on himself. That's pretty huge cuyones. Is that how you say that? Cajones. Cajones. Well, I've moved to San Diego trying to speak Spanish. Cajones. Cajones. Lajola. My first carne aseda. El Cajon. Great. I think that's brilliant that he did that. We talked about the old days. We told some jokes. You know, it was really good to see him. So we shoot the commercial with Oprah and everything. And then I put my disguise on. We sneak back. I come back here. Nobody knows. Next day, NBC executive comes to see me. Jay, we have a problem. Duh. Last night, I got word. You can't promote your competitor's show. I mean, come on. I think it took rocks for him to go. Oh, yeah, sure. I'll do that. You can't disguise that chin. Are you kidding me? He was spotted from a mile away. Spotted from Montana. I know. From a tourist. Dave Letterman shot some kind of secret show. I said, what happened? Well, what happened was we know a black SUV pulled up. There was security, a hooded figure, the thing over his head came in the side of the building that had massive security. Nobody. Who do you think it was? We think it was President Obama. I think he's serious. Yeah, he probably is. I don't think he's joking.
I think his people really told him, thought that. Yeah. I said, President Obama did a commercial for Dave. We think that's what it is. Yeah. I said, okay, look, keep me posted. That's funny. Any more news? Any more news? I know, right? That's funny. I like that. There's no way they like each other now and they're friendly. No, but it probably was a nice moment. Just shake hands and be like, what's up, dude? I know we've been scrapping for a while. How bad do you feel for Oprah? Oh, I know. Just in the middle. Sitting right in the middle of them like, oh, this is not awkward. She was probably talking the entire time. Again, nobody needs to feel bad for this multi-billion dollar. She's not even a company. She's a person. There's still people. She still made the decision to sit there. That's a pretty good move on her part, too. I don't know. Whatever. Oprah is great. Is she? You love Oprah? I don't love her. I just think, you know what? She's a nice lady. She's a nice person. And I think that her heart is in the right place.
Is that funny? You'll get a car. You'll get a car. It's the greatest. Ask James Fry how nice she is. So are you saying? Ask James Fry how nice she is. If she was giving you a free car, Woods, you wouldn't take it? Yeah, I'd take it. I'd take a free car. She's a nice lady. James Fry wrote the book A Million Little Pieces. Oh, that's right. Absolutely brilliant. And this is the funny part. I read that book two years before Oprah did. Look what I just discovered. It's the best book ever. I read it two years ago, lady. Right. Who cares? She tried to ruin the guy's career. So here's what happened. So she talks about the book. Yeah. Everybody buys it. And everybody buys it and it becomes a big smash hit. And it's a memoir. It was published as a memoir, not by his choice. I think I remember hearing about this. You were in senior in high school. That's right. You were just getting pull-ups. You were just in pull-ups when this happened. Came out that his memoir was a fake and that a bunch of the stuff that was in there didn't really happen. Was embellished. Was embellished. But if it helped people. Exactly, dude. Why crush it? And she had him. It was an ambush. An ambush. Oh, you think so? Oh, it was an ambush. There's no question. She's basically open about the fact that she ambushed. Really? She invited him on the show to discuss it. To discuss the controversy at the time. And then filleted him. And then just laid into him like.
Pretty bad. Brutal. Bad. Filet. I have never been so bad in my life. Guy looks like he wanted to cry. He's like one of my favorite writers. And everything he's done is brilliant. Brilliant. Now, he says that when he wrote it, you know, the publishing company. They said, let's pitch this as a memoir. And he's like, dude, it's a story based on some real events. And they go, no, we're going to sell it as a memoir. It'll do better. And then when Opal got her claws into it. That's right. you know, started pitching it, it sold a billion copies. Well, she was trying to help. Well, she didn't help, but then she called the guy back on it. The thing is, is that... Because she was wrong. She looked like an idiot when she said, you know, oh, it's the greatest thing ever. Then she called him back on... But don't you think it's his fault at all? No, not at all. Not one bit. I do. I think he has some responsibility on it. But why would he publish it then as an autobiography? Because his publisher said, we need to publish this as a memoir. And you're like... Okay, I mean, if that's what you're going to do, that's what you're going to do. Let's say it's worst case scenario and he shouldn't have done it. Let's say worst case. He shouldn't have done it. He should have said maybe he had some integrity and said, I know you want to publish it as a memoir, but I just can't do that. I don't feel right about it. Let's say that's worst case scenario, okay? Or best case, whatever. To then have him on to do what she did. Was brutal. To ambush him and have him come in just so she could say, wag her finger at him and say, shame on you. Yeah. I thought it was a little.
No, I agree. I mean, nobody's perfect. People make mistakes. That's the thing. But the thing with him is he actually wrote, my wife, as you guys know, was a cancer survivor. And he wrote, James Fry, wrote Jamie an email when she was going through chemo and radiation. And so it really hit home with me when she, and he was like, listen, fight it. You know, you can beat it. It was amazing. Like, I am such a huge fan of this guy for personal reasons. It was just brutal what she did. So I've never liked her since. She just really had to, she had to eat crap. Yeah. Everyone has the right to who they like and who they don't. That's right. I think that's fine. So I'm just saying. Do you want to fight? No. I love you. I'm just saying that it's fine. Kid's got a harsh opinion, all right? It's totally okay. I love you. I love you too. Can we talk about why he's called the kid? No. Because he acts like a kid? Did you give yourself the name the kid? No, I didn't give myself the name. I like to accuse him of that. There's no way. I don't name myself things. The kid. The self-proclaimed nickname. It's not self-proclaimed. Your friend Bauman called you that. Bauman was real worried when I showed up at that radio station. A little younger, maybe a little better looking, a little taller. You know? How dare you? The guy got real worried. He goes, who's this kid going to come in and steal my thunder? Champ's real handsome. The champ, yeah. He calls himself the champ. Self-proclaimed. The champ and the kid. The kid and the champ. You can't give yourself a nickname. No, you can't.
You can't do that. You can't. I call Lauren L.O.B. Yeah, that's a great nickname. I call Sienna Sienner. I like that one. You're the kid. I end up giving nicknames to everybody. I call J.J. Bird. Yeah, I've got the worst nickname in the world, though. Yes, you do. Can you even say it on the air when we say that? They call him Jizzy. I hate it. It's like J-Lo, and they're trying to be cool, and they call him Jizzy. Yeah, J-Isbell. Because his name is J-Isbell. Jizzy. This just sounds lucky. Terrible. People come up, hey, Jizzy, what's up? They're like, dude, my kids are here. Get away from me. Stop calling me that. Let me hear, I want people to call me about their nickname. How you got your nickname. How about the ones where... You do something one time and it sticks. Yes, yes. And you can never get rid of it. That's the one I want to hear. Did anybody get, is there anybody listening right now, 5701949, where you did something once and you got a nickname for it and you can't live it down and it's like, you know, like you wore a red hat one time.
And they call you Big Red? Yeah. Yeah. My friend wore it to high school. One day, she was a sophomore, a red and white striped shirt. And everyone's like, hey, Waldo. Waldo's here. Waldo. Oh, my God. The rest of her life. Still to this day, in my cell phone, she's Waldo. Amazing. I told a story one time about how when I first got sober, the guy that helped me get sober had me spend a rough night out in a... He was making it into like an apartment that he was going to rent, but it was like a revamped chicken coop. Sweet. And I told that story to a group of people. And from that point on, it was Chicken Coop Mike. And I'm like. Just because one night you slept in a chicken coop. One night. I tell a story like I had nothing. Hey, Chicken Coop Mike, how you doing? CCM. What's up, CCM? I spilled beer all over a girl that I met at a bar. with all of her girlfriends there. And I ended up dating her for like two and a half years, three years. But from then on, I was Nervous Purvis. You called yourself that this morning. And it's been with me. So like my buddy Bobby will call me from Chicago. What's up Purvis or Perv or whatever. Nervous Purvis forever. I have no idea why it follows me except I call myself that. I'll get it. I hate it. I just hate it. Nervous Purvis. Yeah, people call me Nervous Purvis. That is not a nickname that you want.
Purvis is pretty funny. When he calls me, he goes, hey, Purvis. Lauren, did you have any? Yeah, but I'm really embarrassed by mine. I know. That's what I want you to tell us all. Okay. So I was at this party in college, and there was me and another Lauren there, and we both happened to be from New Jersey and went to school in Virginia. I happened to be a little more intoxicated than the other Lauren. So, in college, you didn't really know last names. You just kind of associated the person from what town they were from or whatever. So, he just said, okay, you're Jersey Lauren to the other girl. And he said, you're drunk Jersey Lauren. So, you became drunk Jersey Lauren. Drunk Jersey Lauren. Oh, wow. DJL for short. And that followed me. Hey, by the way, first time we do an appearance, don't anybody make your own t-shirts that say, what's up, drunk Jersey Lauren. Yeah. Definitely don't do that. That would be so wrong. I mean, now they're all going to do it. This is a trap. This is entrapment. Hey, don't, AM1s, don't make some sign that says, will you marry me, drunk Jersey Lauren? This is like, I feel like James Firewall or whatever his name was. James Fry. No, it was James Firewall. I'm being ambushed. M1 Jim is on the line. Hey, what's up? What up? Not much, man.
I was going to share my bad nickname I had when I was a younger kid. What was it? Beaver. Oh, that's bad. Why was it beaver? Well, because I had buck teeth when I was younger. Oh, my. You could eat corn through a knot hole? Practically, I'm sure. Oh, that's awful. That's terrible, dude. Go ahead. Yeah, they always used to make sure to say it when we were all around girls. Oh, that's awful. That's awful. How many guys, how many of those guys did you end up beating the crap out of later when you got your teeth fixed? Two. Good. Dude. Oh, this is brutal. Especially when it comes from movies or whatever. This guy says, my friend looks exactly like Farmer Ted from Sixteen Candles. So that's his nickname. Farmer Ted. Oh, I got a bad one for you. One of the greatest characters ever. When I was in high school, there was this.
Like, I think it was members-only jacket, but I don't know. I have a members-only jacket. No, it wasn't. I don't think it was. But it was like this, it was almost like flannel material. And it was like a triangle symbol was like the brand. And my mom wouldn't buy me one. And I was like, you know. And so finally, I just was killing her about it. So she drove me all the way from Gilroy to Salinas, California, to this mall. Anything for Salinas. That's right. And it was the worst, most humiliating drive ever with my mommy to go get this thing, right? So we get there, and I'm fat, so the size I got to deal with anyway, what's available in my chubby size. So we roll into Mervyn's. Yes. Looking for this thing. Do you have it in this size? No. No, we don't. Oh, well, wait, wait. We have this purple one. Uh-oh. You got it, too, didn't you? Yeah, we did. It's like Barney. So you know what they called me? What? Snuffleupicus. No. How many times did you wear that jacket? Once. One time. One time. Yep. One time. Did your mom give you a hard time about...
Not wearing it because she drove you all the way to Selena's? Of course. Of course. She did. Oh, no. Still does. Mom, they call me Snubalove again. I bought you that jacket. What was worse than that one? My brother gave it to me. Oh, this one bothered me so much. I worked at an AM country station in Tucson, Arizona for five minutes I worked there. For five minutes I worked at this country station. I was 18. And the station was called... Oh, no. The station was KCUB. KCUB. KCUB. And my brother Steve, still to this day, will still sometimes go, Hey, Cubby. That's not that bad. Why is that that bad? Because it was just so humiliating the way he did it. And he would do it in front of girls and stuff. Hey, Cubby. Why does he call you Cubby?
And he would always make up another reason than what it really was. Right. Because it's as cute as a little bear cub. Yeah, because I was going to say, the reason behind it would be like, oh, okay. I worked at a Radiant No. Hey, Cubby. And he would always do it like that. Cubby. He would do it just like that. He would go, hey, Cubby. Why did you only work there for five minutes? Because I was spinning, you know, Chet Atkins records. Dude. There's a tear in my beer and I'm crying for you, dear. Any idea what that is? No clue. Hank Williams. Yeah. Senior. Senior. I was on a bowling league not too long ago. And our very first day of practice, kind of. We had to give everyone our nicknames because we wanted to go by our nicknames to be on the screen. And one of the guys on the team is like, well, I actually don't have a nickname. I've never had one before. And I said, you've never had a nickname? Okay, well, yours is now Virgin. And he's like, what? And everyone's like, yes, Virgin. So we're like, Virgin, you're up. And all these girls were around. And he's like, I'm not a virgin. Oh, my gosh. That is brutal. I know. It was so fun.
Mikey, I had some guy once tell me in the start. This is a text message, 949mikey at gmail.com. Mikey, I had some guy tell me once at a Starbucks, I had a very tasty beard. I told a co-worker about it who now only refers to me as tasty beard. Wait, why did anyone tell him that he had a tasty beard in the first place? I don't know. What does it mean to have a tasty beard? You got a tasty beard, man. Mikey gave a really tasty goatee. Inappropriate. That is a bit inappropriate, right? I wouldn't have said that. And you're being inappropriate. Thank you, Starbucks guy. P1 Harold, or M1 Harold, sorry. Got the nickname Rattlesnake because he got bit by one. But that's a cool one. That's cool, dude. Yeah, that's really cool. Rattlesnake? It's like Scarface. Guy's a professional arm wrestler and he's known as the Rattlesnake. Dude, that's killer. Of course it is. I'm talking about something that you did one time and they're like... Hey, what's up, booger? Like, you're booger. Because one day you had a booger from your nose. You came out of the pool and there was a booger. At my old work, they used to call me Chubbs. And it went from Chubbs to C-Hubs and then to Charles Hubs. So on my office door, they would change the sign all the time. I'd walk back and it would say Mr. Hubs. Yeah, but most people wouldn't know. If it said Mr. Chubbs, then that would be worse. Yeah, Super C.
I like the evolving nicknames. The evolving nickname is great. The evolving nickname is great. C-Hubs. M1 Brian. Yes. What did they call you? They used to call me Salt Lick. Oh. Why? I have a bad taste in my mouth. I'd go surfing before school and the first period I'd have salt all over my cheeks and my hair. So they called you Salt Lick? That's another cool one though. Like for horses and parrots, you know? Yeah. See, that's a cool one because he's a surfer. That's what I love about living in San Diego is the guys in high school, I remember they would surf in the morning and then come to class and you could tell that they had just gotten out of the water. Was that cool? Yeah, it was cool. I liked it. I am so glad I didn't grow up and have to go there. I was eating Pop-Tarts in the morning. I was just eating. Oh, I would have been awful at La Jolla High School. The La Jolla High is a block up from the beach. You would have gotten killed. So after school, you just walked down there. I know in your head you were just imagining yourself in high school at La Jolla High. Your brows are all furrowed. Yeah, your purple jacket. Girls would wear heels. My purple Snuffleupagus jacket. Just getting killed every day. Just getting killed by these skinny, muscular. Surfer dudes. Yeah. Move it, Cubby. And debutantes. Hey, Cubby, nice bra. Oh, wait.
Like, I'm trying to lose weight. Girls don't wear backpacks at La Jolla High. They have, like, little purses and they carry, like, it's so different. There was a really big girl at my high school, and I never did. I swear I never did. But she couldn't fit in a desk. And she had to sit in a... Way to bum out. Yeah, bum everybody out. Listen, though. It's not going to make me laugh. It's going to make me mad. Bitbomb. Listen. They had to put a table in all the rooms for her. Stop. Why are we even continuing? And her nickname was Desk. I thought you weren't going to laugh. I wasn't expecting it to go there. It was so awful, dude. I thought it was going to be like chubby or something. Desk. Horrible. Hey, Desk. We had a fee. Shut up. That is funny. You're laughing. I'm not. It's so awful, though. It's awful. That's not nice. Desk. What if you were desk? Mikey, the theme at my high school, I just remembered this. Well, I didn't just remember this. Was, we're not snobs. We're just better than you. Oh, God. Isn't that awful? I know. T-shirts made in everything. Ew. I know. Awful. I didn't partake. Desk. Shut up.
Desk? Yeah. Did you check out Desk today? Did you see Desk? Stop. You guys are trying to diffuse this mean situation. Thank you. Thank you. Desk? Stop it. You're Sienna. I'm not going to... This is awful. I never thought I was going to go to Desk. I thought it was going to be a chubby nickname. Desk. Brilliant. Awful. I got an email to read for you. It has to do with party themes. This is Sienna. It's like now red. Lauren not laughing. Me not laughing. Not funny. I was shaking my hand. Yeah, so am I. Sorry. This is the Mikey Show on FM 94.9. New messages. Some pretty good text messages. We were talking about nicknames. And what we were saying, like...
Did you ever get a terrible nickname and you got it because you did something once and it's just stuck? And M1Bdub says, me and my twin brother ran cross country in high school and weren't that good. So my coach called us Huff and Puff. That's what they call you and me, Mike. Huff and Puff. Mikey and Woods. That is good. Huff and Puff. Hey, how you doing? Hey, Huff and Puff. That's funny. M1 Red Hot texted in and said, when I was in high school, I was pretty stacked. So for months, the senior boys called me ABBS. I found out two years later that it meant Amber Big Boob Summers. My friend had one of those nicknames. How did it take two years? That's great. Everyone called my friend Brittany BTB for years. And until she was like a senior, she figured out what it was. I think I figured it out. And I don't know if I can say big blank Brittany. Yeah.
I would obsess over it. But I don't think I... And be like, what does it mean? What does it mean? What does it mean? What does it mean? She just was kind of like... M1 Tom says, to all M1 listeners in M1 Nation, no one make a shirt that says, hey, Cubby. Yeah, no question. Never do anything like that. Don't do that. That would not be funny. That would just be so wrong. Cubby. Cubby just doesn't seem bad. Your brother's older than you, right? No, it's just the way he said it. God, bye. We can get him on the phone. Yeah, call him. Got to introduce the... The Cubmeister? The crew to my brother. Jay, if I give you my brother's number, can you call him? Absolutely. I can IM it to him. Here you go. He listens to us online. He lives in Arizona. I call him my little brother, Steve, even though he's eight months older than me. He really has the personality of a much younger... Yeah, he's great. He's a lot of fun. Great dude.
Give him the mobile. Yeah. 570-1949. Give him the mobile. Mobile. That's what it says. On an iPhone, it says mobile. Really? Yeah, that's what they call it in Europe. Canada. They call it the mobile. Have you got your mobile on you? Reach me on my mobile phone. You can call me on my mobile. They call that almost everywhere but here. Imagine that. We're very different. I don't know where that email is. I always get things. Well, you have enough stuff. You have the crackdown today, dude. Some burritos laying around. That's right. So many highlighters. Highlighters for as far as the eye can see. Every color of the rainbow. I love the highlighters. Two for every color of the rainbow. What's the matter with having some? He's building Noah's Ark with highlighters in there. Two of these. Look at all the papers. He needs different colors.
And then I take half of them. Every day I come in, they're missing. I take a couple. I eat a couple. I have one right here. Oh, you've eaten it. That would drive me nuts. Like he's losing it. That would drive me nuts. Every day I go to the thing and it's like all gnarled. Yeah, it looks like a coyote found it in the middle of the night. Yeah, I got home and I had like one of my pens was chewed on the end and it was in my bag and I was like, ah, woods. I'll get you. This email says, Dear Mikey, my husband is about to celebrate his 30th birthday, and I really want to throw a huge party for him. I want to make it an unforgettable bash, so I will definitely need a great theme. The problem is I can't think of a good original theme that I know everyone will get into. Do you think that you guys can help me out? Do you have an inappropriate one picked out or something? Why are you laughing? He's dying over here. If you have any great theme ideas, please let me know. Thanks, and I love the new show, M1 Party Planner. Can you say? Whatever's in your brain on the air? Because I'm looking at you and I'm thinking, you can? It's called a key party. What is it? Oh, please. Is it nasty? I don't get it. Swapping. Never mind. What? I don't even ask him. I go, do you have something nasty in your head? No, absolutely not. That is so 70s. What is it? I don't know. Now you have to say something. The key party. All right. So.
Everybody comes in and each couple drops their keys in a bowl. And then one couple will go grab keys and then they switch. No, no. The wife grabs a set of keys and whatever set of keys she grabs. She goes with that husband. Gross. Oh, that's so filthy. There's a men's bowl and a women's bowl. Right? That's not how that works. Jay's actually been to one. He's like, no, that's not how it works. By the way, I just got a text from somebody that wants the proper spelling on Snuffleupagus. Forget it. No way. Now. No chance. Forget it. I want that t-shirt. I like the Edward Fortyhands. That was a good one. But no one on the 30th birthday could do that. The women will be like, meh. That's true. Edward Fortyhands is when you have 40s. It's awesome I've been to one of these. You have 40s in each hand, and someone tapes the 40 to your hand. Duct tape. Duct tape. So you have to drink both of them in order to get the tape off. Oh, my. Do you know how often you have to go to the bathroom when you drink beer? All the time. Especially for us girls. It's ridiculous. You can't get through 240s with your hands taped. It's ridiculous. Okay, so Edward, 40 hands. Can I say something that rhymes with...
pros on the air? You can say hoes. Okay. Pros and hoes. That's a good one. What is it? It's like... But that's like high school-ish. I can't say 30 years. Well, you know, I saw these people in PB doing... The guys were dressed as like golf pros and then the girls were dressed as little tennis... Cute little tennis skirts and stuff. I like the pimpin' hoes. That's not necessarily... hoey. No, but it's just, it rhymes. Like, I would do that, but I don't like, I would never do the pimp and ho. I've been to pimp and ho party. You wouldn't wear your feathered cap, dude? No. With your cane? Yeah. You tell Rebecca, hey, honey, you want to go to the pimp and ho party? I've never been to one of these parties, but I always thought the thing was awesome. And it's a Rubik's Cube party. So everyone comes wearing different colors. And on their clothes, like one color shirt, one color pants, you know, a hat or something. And the point is, by the end of the party, you have to leave wearing all the same color. Meaning, if I'm wearing red pants and I need a red shirt to match like the Rubik's Cube, I'm going to say, Woods, I need your red shirt here. You need blue. You can take my shirt.
And so, you know, you just change. It's just a way to get people taking their clothes off. You can go in the bathroom and do it, but I think it's hilarious because you're socializing with people. Mikey would go in the bathroom and do it. Of course I would. A lot of people would, but it's okay. There's nothing wrong with it. I come out wearing Lauren's red shirt. I'm going to have to run to the garage real quick. 107 sizes smaller than me. That's what's so funny. I just hate trying on clothes. It makes me feel so like... claustrophobic to... Especially other people's, right? Yeah. Would you want to put somebody else... I think it's hilarious. Ew, no. Rubik's Cube. I'm grossed out by putting somebody's shirt on. I'm grossed out by someone else putting my shirt on, too. Yeah. This probably wouldn't be good for a 30-year-old party, but my sister over the weekend went to a Jersey Shore-themed party. And everyone dressed as, like, Guidos, you know? Brilliant. That'd be fun. Yeah. That'd be like growing up.
For me. For you, yeah. Basically. Speaking of Jersey Shore, Ellen was doing a game called Know or Go with the kids from Jersey Shore. Never heard of the game. The first question is, in which New Jersey city would you find the Newark Airport? I know. No? Only one of them is actually from Jersey. Really? Yeah. Hold on, I know this. Newark is it. It's a Newark. It's a Newark. I feel like they're sitting on a dunk tank or something like that. I think that's what it is. Is it? Something like that, because if they don't know the answer... Something happens to them. I can't do that noise. Is there a difference between a New Jersey accent and a New York accent? Yeah. There is? It depends. I mean, New Jersey is kind of a small state, but it doesn't really...
You know, you either have your proximity towards Philadelphia or towards New York. There's a difference in the accent? Yeah. Oh, wow. Big difference. Still you. Still me? Still you. Thomas Edison was from New Jersey. He invented the electric light bulb. If you pay your electric bill once a month, how many times a year do you pay it? That's right. That's right. Somebody else? Still you. New Jersey's nickname is the Garden State. What is the slogan for the Olive Garden? For the Olive Garden. I know that. I don't. When you're here to your family. You didn't know that? No. I didn't know that either. I don't even have TV and I know that. Yeah. We pump our fists. We pump our fists. First of all, he's a big faker. He's not even from New Jersey. Where's he from? Like Connecticut? They're from like Staten Island, Rhode Island. Rhode Island, Staten Island. Long Island. Long Island. There's no D in it. Long Island. Long Island. Long Island. Long Island. Long Island.
There he is. What's your problem? How you doing? Yeah, I knew this guy one time from that place. Tommy. Forget about him. Remember Tommy? Mikey. Frankie. Stevie. I said to Tommy one time, I said, you know, maybe you don't do that thing I asked you. Did you take care of that thing? The other thing. Falled down a couple times. On accident. The other thing. The hoof. Yeah, the hoof. The paw was stuck in the... We had to hack it off. Doesn't that get hard, like, when you're in high school? Stop. But everyone has the same type of name. Like, there's probably 15 Tommies in one grade. They're all Peter, Pauls. Paul, Tommy. Tommy F, Tommy. Maria. Mike D. Curly Head Tommy. Tommy. What are the popular girls' names? Lauren is a popular girl. Is it really? Lauren. Jennifer, Jenny. Marie. Lauren. When Lauren says her name every once in a while, you hear it like Lauren. Lauren. Yeah, it's not Lauren. It's not like Lauren, like the Saturday Night Live guy. It's Lauren. I think he's just Lauren. Yeah, but still, it's still not pronounced that or. Lauren. Lauren. And a friend of mine, it was. It's like caught. C-A-U-G-H-2. Caught. Caught. You got caught. Caught. Yeah. Lauren. I had a friend one time. I said, why don't you do that thing? He didn't want to do it. So I said, you know, sometimes.
Get into accidents. And do other things. You fall under an ice pick four, five, 20 times. It's an accident. This guy said, you know what? I want you to do this thing. He says he couldn't do it. I said, hey, you know what? Sometimes people fall down onto it, onto it. Sometimes people accidentally shoot themselves in the face 14 times. My friend used to get like... These crazy black market things that her uncle would bring over. And they'd be like, where'd you get this from, Uncle Paulie? And he'd be like, don't worry about it. It fell off the back of a truck. It fell off the back of a truck. Amazing. What? Really? It fell off a truck. I don't know. I don't know. Everything's a question. Don't ask, don't tell. I don't know. I'd be like, but where'd you get it? But Paulie, where'd you get that TV? He'd be like, what am I, a jerk? What am I, a jerk? Genius. Talking to me. Couldn't tell you that. Don't worry about it. What are you, detective kid? I thought you said I was all right, Spider. Yeah. You're not all right, Spider. It's amazing the differences in one country, you know? M1 Lauren is on the line. Lauren. Hi, Lauren. Are you talking to me? Yes. You're talking to me? You're talking to me? My name is Lauren. Hi, Lauren. What am I, a jerk? Mikey, it's P1 or M1 Lori from your favorite show on the... Oh, Lori.
It's M1 Lori. She's from the show. Your house is worth what? Yeah. Yeah. Hey, welcome to the airways. Good. What's up? Just calling to tell you if you wanted to know what that know or go thing was on Ellen. Yeah. Hilarious. It's better than a dunk tank. You actually stand on a platform and there's little. shoots in the ground that they just fall through. If they don't know the answer, they just fall through the ground. Really? Never to be seen again, I guess. Yeah, hopefully. She doesn't really give them very much time to answer. She just goes, okay, and then she just presses a button, and they fall underneath the, you know. Like the stage? Yeah, it's like this raised stage that you can't see where they go into. Really? I want to hear another clip now. I'd love to see Snooki fall. Thank you, Lori. Thank you. I want to hear another clip now, knowing that that's what the deal is. All right, Snooki, come on. In the Civil War, the war between the North and the South, which side was New Jersey on? The South. Oh, my gosh. North. I feel like that was staged. North. New Jersey. So she just fell through the floor? Yeah, hopefully. New Jersey is one of the 13 original colonies. Name the other 12. That's hard. Who among us can do that? Name the 12 colonies? Can you? The 13 colonies? No way. No way. I could do some of them, not all of them.
Sienna? You're right. Come on. Sienna just looked at me like I was asking her to do quantum physics. All of them? Yeah. New York? Pennsylvania? Rhode Island? No. Canada? Canada. Come on. Canada. Come on. That was staged. Are you ready, pal? Mm-hmm. Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire, New York, Delaware, Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia. Look at the big brains. Way to Google that, man. You're welcome. I just remembered it. M1 Rhino Master. Hello, Rhino Master. You're on the phone. Oh, hey, this is Bill Maestro. Oh, Maestro. Got it. Yeah, yeah. I'm a musician. That nickname kind of stuck for a while. Nice. Did you give it to yourself or did someone else give it to you? No, it started with my grandfather. He used to call me Rhino Ino because, you know, when you're really young. All right, let's just move on to the thing here. I was already starting to get a lot. You lost me immediately on that one. What's your theme party? About those theme parties, I did this a couple months back after a show, and everybody made up a superhero, like an old comic book character, you know, the Mothman or something.
Everybody makes their own super character up, and they come to the party dressed as a made-up superhero. So there were no girls at this party at all? No. Just you and a bunch of dudes? Yeah, there were. Basically. Cute, nerdy girls with glasses. No way. Have you ever been to Comic-Con? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Girls would get into that. There are some hotties at Comic-Con. Those girls were paid to be there. Yes. It's true. I was paid to be there. You were? Yeah. What did they have you do there? What did they have you do? I tried to teach a role-playing card game. Oh, that's awesome. Have you never been to Comic-Con? No, I haven't, but I want to know what that was all about. Well, I had to fake it until I made it. I was supposed to just be modeling the product like, here, look at this, come talk to me. But at the last minute switcheroo, and they had me actually teaching the game to people. Now, I didn't even know, what is it? What's the acronym there? DORC. I think it's DORC. It's N-E-R-D. It's the acronym. Role playing something or other. Dungeons and Dragons? Oh, yeah. Worlds of Warcraft? Yeah, Worlds of Warcraft. Do they call it WOW? My brother was out. I just said WOW. I'll get a text. I'll get a text. No, he'll text. Taylor, we need your help, pal. But it was actually...
It was pretty stimulating, I will say. Wow, it's a nice, really interesting way to say it. No, it was. Greetings, bro. I'm sure it was stimulating for them as well. Absolutely. Did they want to touch you because you're like a real girl? I did get some of that. Yeah, their shoulder. Think about that. 570-194-949-mikey at gmail.com. We don't even have Comic-Con anymore. Really? Yeah, it's going to Vegas. Man, it was so claustrophobic and crowded there. They ran out of room. Yeah, that's too bad. It's like being in Tokyo. Yeah. If we called my brother right now. I've never talked to your brother. He would go out. Apparently, her brother is like the biggest M1 of all time. He is. Oh, he is. I met him, and he stared at me like a piece of meat. No, he will talk to you about Worlds of Warcraft for days, if you'd like. I'm going to just go home. I'm giving Jay his phone number. He's great, dude. We are, to say the least, total opposites. Yeah. Remember this one? Of course. Dancing, right? Genius. Mother. They tell your children not to. Mother. He's doing like his Jim Morrison. Yeah. Very much. Tell your children not to hear my words. What they mean, what they say. Mother.
That'll get you. I was at the magazine aisle at CBS yesterday, and I swear it was like the cover of Boy Scout Weekly had the Brad and Angelina stuff on. Have you ever seen that? No, what's going on? This Nun's Life. Dude. And I'm like, why? I don't want to look at this. I don't want to look at this. But now... Brad and Angelina are suing tabloids for saying what this thing is. Yep. And they all, I mean, it was like, they're going to have to sue every tabloid because all those stupid magazines were saying it. Well, one started it. Really? And all the other ones picked up on it? Yep. Tell you what it is next. You're listening to The Mikey Show on FM 94.9. It's time for What's Cooking at Cox with Sam the Cooking Guy. You know, sometimes... I like that. Is that a movie soundtrack? Yeah, Singles. I thought that song. So good. I was like, I know that. I don't know why. It's such a good tune. It's a great band. Never, by the way, seen the movie Singles, but know all the music from the movie. The best soundtracks ever. It's a great movie. Matt Dillon. Yeah, Matt Dillon. Brilliant. Mm-hmm. Sent in the magazine aisle at CBS yesterday. Love car magazines, but don't get them too much anymore. Right. Because I was...
I was thinking about my focus was moving from God to cars. So I said, you know what? Enough cars. That's all I was getting. I got like four car magazines. And I still love that R8. Do you know what the Audi R8 is? No. It's real sweet. I drive a Chevy Trailblazer. I'm not a big car guy. Love cars. You've seen me drive, Sienna. It's terrifying. Have you seen the movie Iron Man? Yeah, I watched half of it and I fell asleep. You'll watch Iron Man, but you won't watch Avatar? I fell asleep. Okay. But I love Robert Downey Jr., so that's why. You fell asleep? I fell asleep. It's so good. I was hungover. That could be any movie, though. Did you ever see Bambi? Could be Goodfellas. Yeah. I fell asleep halfway through. How come? I was hungover. Anyway, so I'm at the magazine aisle. I'm looking at magazines. And everywhere.
Every magazine is Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are splitting up because Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston are back together. Is he playing a homeless guy in his next role? Because that's what he kind of looks like on those magazine covers. You know, when I first, the goatee, that like Mr. Miyagi goatee that he has, I read a long time ago that was for a character. That's never going to come out. What was that noise? It's your computer, dude. I thought we fixed it. It's your computer, pal. It's me? Look at Jay. I heard that that's from a Blackberry, that noise. It's not from a Blackberry. I heard on the World Wide Web. Yes. On they.com. They said that... I was on iheard.net. Okay, so apparently he's playing some role where he's got the... You know, long beard Brad Pitt does. Yeah, but it's been a while since he's had that thing. He looks awful. And I also read a story that Angelina convinced him to keep it because she thought it made him look like sexy and wiser. I could see her thinking that too. I grew this out real long one time. The goatee? Creepy. Yeah, my wife hated it. I would too. But it wasn't that long, but it was real.
Is it down to your belly button? Yeah, it was down to my belly, yeah. And braided. I braided it with my belly button hair. Put some beads in. It's like Avatar. It's just like Avatar. It's like Avatar. Your chin and your belly button were one. I would put my chin and my beard in my belly button and I would communicate with myself. I have no idea what you guys are talking about. I know you. Because you're not an American. You haven't seen Avatar. No, I've actually seen a naked girl, dude. So I don't need to go see Avatar. On Halloween, Brad Pitt even said he let his little kids put beads in his goatee. Oh, my gosh. Creepy. Maybe he's just tired of being really, really, ridiculously good looking. It is rough. He loves it, though. It is rough. We do like to switch it up sometimes. Shut your mouth over there already. We. Yeah, sometimes you've got to switch it up. So, Sienna. Yes. Are they suing because they said that he's getting back with Jen Aniston? No, they're suing because there's been rumors going around as well. There always will be. When will they learn that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are on the rocks and that they're breaking up? And this one they took really personally. They wouldn't go away. And the magazine that started it was Britain's News of the World. And it started making news of the world. Yeah.
What? I was like, what? So now their lawyers have come forward. His name is Keith. He announced yesterday that they are going to be suing this magazine, Britain's News of the World, for making false allegations. And they're, you know, saying we can confirm that they're still together and going strong. You know, they were even spotted at the Super Bowl together. Oh, well, then it must be. It must be love. But it's just like, really, are you guys going to now sue because of this? Like, it's part of the deal. It sucks, but it's part of the deal. The deal with the devil. She seems so stable, though. You guys know I'm not okay with that. It's part of the deal stuff, though. Yeah. We don't talk about it very much. It's baloney. It's part of the deal. It's not part of the deal, but some people... The P's really pop on this microphone. Sorry. But some people use publicity. I just keep having to say things with P. What do you call those? PR reps. Yeah. Publicist. Paparazzi. Yes. To get press. To get press. I'm still fully on team Brad and Jen, just so you have you know. You should see, there's a picture of her that she was just like in Mexico or something. Wearing a bikini and the straps are pulled down. I'm going to put this on my blog right now, actually, because. Yeah, she's like 42 or something. She's stunning. She looks like she's 18 years old. She's beautiful. Weren't you in the movie The Breakup with her once? I was. Wasn't that you? Yeah, I was. Looks just like Vince Vaughn.
I'm 100% out on her. Weird. Who can be out on her? I mean, she's got to not be all in there. But she's so hot. She chain smokes. It's perfect for me. Is that the truth? She does? Yeah. Well, past her Rachel character, what'd she bring into the table? She was funny in the breakup. She was Rachel in the breakup. Was she? She's Rachel in everything. The world's tallest building in the world is in Dubai. Chicks don't dig this, but guys, I think, think that tall buildings are really cool. Oh, yeah, dude. They are. Look at Transformers. Well, I just think it's cool that you could go, you know, like a quarter of a mile in the sky. That's incredible. It's really neat. It's neato. Makes me dizzy. Yes. You ever been to Chicago or New York and gone up? Yeah, the Hancock Tower or whatever it's called. In Chicago? Mm-hmm.
Woods, what are you, eight? I mean, she says the word Hancock. You start laughing. You giggle. Yeah, you did, like a nine-year-old. I'm giggling at the new K-Cub logo. I'm looking at the new K-Cub logo. It's Mikey in a little baby cub suit. Let me see. Who sent you that? Who sent you that? Look at that. That's what I'm giggling at, pal, not Hancock. I'm trying to show you my picture now. I can't do it. See? That was her 41st birthday. I found the picture of Jennifer Aniston in a bikini. I'm putting it up. She looks amazing. Let me see. I can't. We're attached. Do you think that there was any surgery involved? Her skin is so tight. When can we get this on M1 site or Mikey's show? Send it to Jay. Who am I sending it to? Jay. Done. Right?
Well, Jay, no. Don't send it to you. Send it to Jared. It's amazing. Wait till you guys see this. Who did it? Is there a name attached? Yes, but I'm not going to rat out anybody. That is funny. Oh, my God. Thank you for that. Really? And you know who you are. Let me tell you something. Our M1s, all they do, as soon as we say stuff, they jump on that Photoshop immediately. Incredible. The face in that picture is pricey. The face. When you guys see this, you're going to love it. I know exactly what that picture is. Oh, wow. So, yes, the world's tallest building is in Dubai. How tall? It is 160 stories, 2,717 feet. It cost a billion and a half dollars. I want to give you a little scale. Empire State Building is like 84. Yeah. It's doubled. It's the world's tallest building. Oh, my gosh. Thousands and thousands of tourists have traveled to come and visit this building, see the view. It's supposed to be amazing, obviously. It opened. I bet that your ears pop. Yeah. Oh, yeah. For sure. I bet it sways. It'll be a long elevator ride. I bet it sways because the Sears Tower in Chicago sways. Get out. You can't feel it, can you? You can't feel it, right? Yeah, you can feel it. No. Yes.
If it's a windy day. I would get motion sickness. It's creepy. You're telling me that you're up at the top of that Sears Tower in Chicago and if it's windy, you feel it moving? Yes, sir. That's the creepiest thing I've ever heard in my life. I'd be seasick. Oh, yeah. And a hundred and something? 160 stories. It was opened last month, January 4th, and that's when all the people started traveling to visit it. Now all of a sudden it is closed. And initially the owner came out, the building owner, and said they shut it down due to an unexpected... High amount of traffic. You said the owner came out and initially I thought that he was like, so I just want to let everyone know. He's like the super of the building. He's the superintendent. He's like, I just want to let everyone know that I designed this sucker, but I'm gay. No, he initially said that they were going to close it temporarily due to all the traffic that's been coming through all the people. But now they're saying it's because of electrical problems and they don't know how long the building is going to be closed. So this is a brand new tourist attraction, 160 feet.
World record. And they closed it. And everyone's freaking out. Like, what's the big deal? People are there visiting. They want to see it. So tenants can't go into their business and all that? It says work is still going on on many of the other floors. One and two. That's it. First and second floor. That's it. But if you're on the 98th floor. Dude, can you imagine working on the 98th floor? No. Never. They're supposed to have 12,000 tenants move in this month. Is there 12,000 people in Dubai? Right. City. It's like the whole city lives in there. Yeah, no, Dubai is like a happening place. Yeah, it's supposed to be. You got some money. Dude. Yeah, it's ridiculous. I would want no part of working on any. We're on seven, dude, and it gets skeeves me out. Yeah, skeeves me. I know. Seven floors up. Mm-hmm. It's weird to think. The other thing that I needed to tell you about is this curfew deal. I don't know if you know about this. Did you know that if you're a teenager in San Diego County, there's a curfew? Anyone under 18. Yeah. That's crazy. Jay's daughter got arrested. We'll tell you the story. Taken to jail. What? Because of the curfew. Proud papa in there. That's right. He's going to tell us the story. He was real great. Yes. We'll tell you the story next. This is The Mikey Show. FM 94.9.

No, I worked more than 11 hours. I was at the office for 11 hours. Really? For 11 hours? Yeah. I left at like 4 o'clock yesterday. Really? Yes, it was more than 11 hours. I like to talk to Lauren after she's been working 10 hours and 45 minutes. That's when I like to talk to her. It's about my threshold there. Mm-hmm. And she calls me and she's in a great mood. And we work it out. She says, then she went home and rearranged the bedroom furniture for the 17th time. What does that even mean? I am constantly adding, like, just one more piece of furniture to the house. And it's, well, I don't have a house. I have an apartment. But I seem to get furniture that's built for a mansion. So it's all this oversized, clunky, doesn't fit furniture. It is. And poor Matt. I'm always like, well, let's just try this. Let's try this. You know the kids over here with no furniture. Okay. But no, that's how my little brother came to my apartment and said, your room looks like a place that people go to die. Good Lord. He goes, I've heard of minimalism, but this is ridiculous. What does that mean? Like I had nothing on the walls, like a white comforter. This was before, not now? Now I'm like, every day I walk in, I'm like, does it look like someone lives here? Is it cheery enough? Dude, what's his apartment? All he has is an Aero mattress.
And a cable box. No TV. No TV. A cable box. Two cable boxes with high def receivers. With no TV. We just moved here. I've lived here for like six years. That's a good point. No TV. No TV. You want to know what woods he had for dinner last night? Steak, mac and cheese and a salad. Seven years old. What's wrong with that? Yeah. It's like a really great dinner. Is it the kind with a powdered cheese? Yeah, Kraft. It's the best kind. The best. With like four tablespoons of butter. There's a new kind that's like the Kraft three cheese shells. No, I don't mess around with any of them. Excuse me. I love the shells. Try it, then we'll talk. Powder. It has the powder. It has powder. I don't like shells. I don't like shells. Get out of here. Try it. I don't like the shells because I never cook them long enough. Macaroni noodle. Noodle. Mikey, try it. The cheese gets all scooped up in the shells, and it's like a little surprise. Dude, if you get powder stuck in the shells, you're going to bite into powder. Well, you've got to mix it well. You stir it. No, I love when you get the two shells. One overlaps the other shell, and it's like extra thick. I don't like the shells. I'm out on the shells. Me too. That ain't what it's about. It's not about. I eat my mac and cheese with a spoon, by the way. You do? Yeah. Who doesn't? A lot of people. Yeah, most people eat it with a fork. Why would they do that?
I eat it so I can scoop in huge bites because I love it. I ate the whole box, by the way. Mac and cheese never fills up. It's just like for the taste. Most people do. By themselves? Yeah. I'm going to gross you out. Okay. Uh-oh. You put caramelized onions in yours. No. That wouldn't be gross. You grate brie cheese over the top of it. No? Okay. I put ketchup in it. I put worse to share in mine. You do? Yeah. Why? It's perfect the way it is. I bet that's good. It is. I put Worcestershire. Worcestershire? Worcestershire. Worchester. I wouldn't do that again, Sienna. What? Worcestershire. I said Worcestershire. Wow. Have you been drinking? Yeah. Worcestershire. Worcestershire. Worcestershire? Worcestershire. It's not even close. She's a debutante. She's probably right. She is not right on that. It is. That is the French lingo. Worcestershire. Worcestershire. Do you have any moisture, sir? So look, there's a curfew in San Diego for kids. Shocking. They're strict. If you have a teenage kid, you probably don't even know this. Jay. Yeah. Your daughter, right? Yeah, she was, I think she was 17. And she went to this party, this big raging party. And the police pull up out front. And all the kids just running, they're jumping over the walls and going crazy. And she's not doing anything wrong.
So she walks out the front door with her other girlfriend, and she walks right up to the police car, not even trying to run or anything, which I was like, what are you doing? Run, jump over the fence. The excitement. They're like, hey, you know, have you been drinking? She's like, nope. And they say, well, we're going to have to take you in. She's like, what do you mean? Well, curfew. You're breaking curfew. She says, no, I'm not. My dad told me I need to be home at 11. Oh, no. So we get a phone call from the sheriff, and the sheriff, we go down, and there she is. Sitting behind bars. Oh. She's just as calm as could be. I think she's a little angry, as a matter of fact. And I said, well, all the people you could have arrested, the people that were drinking and all this stuff, they said, yeah, but she's really pretty. And we felt like word will really get out of school that there's a curfew. I said, you arrested my daughter because she's really pretty? Wow. And they said, no, she's breaking curfew. And I said, she wasn't breaking my curfew, so I don't care what time she comes home. So keep. Keep pulling her out, I guess. I'll just keep coming down here to pick her up. Did it cost you anything? No, they didn't cost anything. Well, you live in North County. They don't really have much to do except get cats out of trees up there, I think. It's true. Because you've spent so much time in North County woods. Yeah, well, I know what I know. He's actually right. Yeah, I know I'm right. Yeah, it's true.
Get used to it. They're really strict on it, though. And there's people that have now, you know, they're taking it to the court and they're like, this needs to be changed. 10 o'clock is the curfew here in San Diego. No way. For anyone under the age of 18. Oh, yeah. I almost got popped for it a bunch of times. It's ridiculous. Yeah. But parents are saying, okay. How are people supposed to know that? How am I supposed to party, dude, if I got to come home before 10? Well, that's you. Because you're under 18. That's right. But they're saying, you know, like a lot of these kids, 17 years old, they have sports. There's school events. Like think about dances and stuff. Like a lot of dances don't get out about till that time. And it's just ridiculous. The rule is they have to be accompanied by an adult if they're going to be out or like anywhere out of their house or at someone else's house. So, Jakey, Jakey's got to get home before 10, dude, when he's a senior in high school. Good kid. When he's a senior. You follow the rules. Let me tell you. You will be a good kid. It's going to be a rule following house, man. You only got one to worry about. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I'm going to say to my wife, where's Lou? Yeah. He stole your car. I don't even call him Luke anymore. He's driving around. He's Lou. Dude, he's Lou. Yes. I don't call him Luke. He's Lou. He's Lou. Why Lou? Louie Esposa. You've seen him. Yeah. He's got a little De Niro thing. Yeah, I'm a baby. I'm cute. Yeah, you look at him and you go, oh.
And he goes, what? Quit talking to me like that. First of all, you don't have to talk to me like I'm an infant. Get out of my face, all right? You are an infant. You're six months old. He goes, well, don't talk to me like that. And don't look at me like that either. Just get that smile off your face, Dad. Him and the cat are in cahoots. Yeah. Meow. Meow, meow, meow. Did you find your cat, dude? No. Way to bring it up. Way to bring the room. I'm concerned. That's right. I'm an animal lover, as you know. I thought twins were supposed to be alike, though. Aren't they usually? No. Because Ryan, the other one, is like the happiest, swiliest baby. Absolutely. That kid will smile at anything. I love him. I do, too. I love all of them. I love you. Luke furls his brow at you and goes, what? You're looking at me. Mikey, don't freak the nerds and geeks out, including myself. Comic-Con is still here in San Diego for at least two more years. That's what I thought. I believe Comic Con has a contract with the city of San Diego until after 2012 to keep the convention in San Diego. After that, it's up for grabs unless San Diego can provide a bigger venue, which is unlikely. They need it. And Las Vegas has its own comic convention during the summer, so I don't know if that relocation is true, but I did hear that they wanted to move up to Anaheim. That's M1 Night Scream.
It is a site, though, Comic-Con. I mean, if you've never been, it's a site. I want to check it out for sure. I've gone twice. The only convention-type thing that I go to is the auto show. Oh, yeah. Dude, I'll get some phenomenal audio from Comic-Con. I went there with an old radio show, and my whole purpose was going to Comic-Con to find a boyfriend. Oh, wow. And I asked them about their superpowers and what they would do to protect me. So funny. Genius. I'd use Sith Lightning, someone said. Sith Lightning? Yeah. That's awesome. I know. 570-1949-949-mikey at gmail.com. Ellen's on idle tonight for the first time. Yay! Yeah. I'm the only one that cheered. Yeah. That's right. So, we'll not see it. Mikey did loan me a TV today, though. Oh, nice. It's a three-inch plasma. Two-inch plasma. Three-inch plasma. You can come over to my house and watch it. And I'm going to... staple it to the wall and I'm going to stand in front of it and watch it all night. It's a plasma though? No. It is not. It's just a little mini flat screen. But it's a flat screen. That's nice. I'd be stoked on that. That's super nice. I get to watch TV tonight. I want a mini flat screen. He's loaning it to me along with the pillows, blankets. The pillows, blankets, air mattress, everything else they've loaned me. I really want a TV in my kitchen. The kids are degenerate.
Degenerate. Freeloader. 570-1949. Beginning and end of every show, we do open phone. So you can call right now about anything you want. And Hillary will be coming up next. So you can call us right now. Tomorrow, by the way. There she is. I know she can't hear you, so you can talk about the crush you have. Little angel. Tomorrow we're going to be doing more stuff that should be banned. Yeah. If you had a good time with. But if you're part of the M1 Nation, call us right now and say goodbye. Talk about anything you want, any topic we brought up or anything you got. Let's see. Lauren, you're a computer whiz. Can you get it so that I can see that screen? Let's see. Push a button. Hello. Thank you. Bill Gates over here. I touched it, by the way. M1 James. Yeah, hey Maggie, this is James. What's up? Well, you touched a chord with... The curfew issue. My daughter, who's 16, was with one of her friends and went to Soma down by the sports arena to go to a concert. Right. And we had dropped them off and coordinated with the parent of the other girl to get picked up. And they left the concert before 10 o'clock, walked down to the In-N-Out Burger to get something to eat. The other parent was parked in that parking lot. And when they left the In-N-Out Burger, they stepped off the sidewalk and were arrested, handcuffed.
Put him in a little paddy wagon and drag down to the area over off of Marina, even though the parent was right there in the parking lot. Unreal. So unnecessary. God. It was unreal. And they wanted us to put him in this kind of diversion program and all this other stuff. I'm just like, you know, you've got to be kidding me. It's 10 o'clock and they had a parent right there and they wouldn't listen to him. I'd rather just be a warning. Just say, hey, kids. Get home. Get home. Like the R-Cops used to do. Midnight seems so much more reasonable. Dude. I would agree. Got a big show for you tomorrow. Big show. We're going to do more of that stuff that should be banned. And don't forget, if you want to go out with Megan, we got a picture of Megan at MikeyShow.com right now. We're looking for fellas. A couple of pictures. And we're looking for fellas that want to go single guys. She's 23. And she said that she'd like a guy that's under 30. Isn't that what she said? Yeah. Valentine's Day. It seemed like it was up to interpretation. Yeah. About that age. Yeah, about that age. We're buying this Valentine's dinner. Could be very romantic. That's right. Going to send you to Pample Moose. Go home. Go home. Lovely and talented Hillary is up next. After 10 o'clock, it's all about the music, baby. So we're going to hit it right now. Mikey Show will be back tomorrow morning at 6 o'clock. We're out.
