Daytona 500anniversary getawaycelebrity 911 callmarriage secretsfailed adoptionAmerican IdolRadiohead debatefood contaminationorganic pesticidesdaytonanascaranniversary
Mikey recounted how he talked Rebecca out of a dressed-up anniversary dinner at La Costa, only for Unstoppable and a miserable room-service salad to ruin the night. The show celebrated Trevor Bain's Daytona upset, dissected Frankie Muniz's 911 call about Alicia Turnbaugh, heard a caller discover her husband's secret earlier marriage, and fought over whether Radiohead's Lotus Flower was brilliant or unlistenable. Most seriously, Woods said Chelsea reversed course one week before he and Jamie were to adopt her baby; he described their devastation and vowed to keep trying, while Veronica argued that the setback meant not now rather than no. The mood later swung into an escalating food-contamination marathon before a former pest-control technician challenged the assumption that natural pesticides are necessarily safer.
What happened, in order
Trevor Bain wins Daytona
The hosts marveled that 20-year-old Trevor Bain won the Daytona 500 in only his second Sprint Cup start after a race featuring a 14-car wreck.
Anniversary plan backfires
Mikey talked Rebecca out of her makeup appointment and dinner at La Costa, only to strand their anniversary in the room with the disappointing movie Unstoppable and a four-wedge salad.
Frankie Muniz calls 911
The show played Frankie Muniz's anxious 911 call about girlfriend Alicia Turnbaugh hitting him and trashing his house, then mocked his reluctance to give the dispatcher his famous name.
The marriage nobody mentioned
A caller said she learned at a family gathering that her husband had concealed an earlier marriage when an uncle casually congratulated him on getting married again.
Adoption collapses one week out
Woods revealed that birth mother Chelsea decided to keep the baby one week before the birth, leaving him and Jamie devastated after they had bought supplies and planned the trip to Colorado.
Not no, but not now
Birth mother Veronica comforted Woods with her own account of adoptive parents losing one placement and meeting her three months later, arguing that the setback meant not now rather than never.
Stand-up bass Idol surprise
The hosts played an American Idol contestant whose soulful singing and electric stand-up bass won over Randy Jackson, Steven Tyler, the other contestants and the studio.
Radiohead taste fight
Mikey called Radiohead's Lotus Flower nearly unlistenable and weird for its own sake while another host defended it as brilliant and perfect.
Foreign objects in food
A question about strange discoveries in food escalated into stories about a thumb in tomato paste, a skull in tuna, needles, cockroaches, blood, glass, a used Band-Aid and a chicken artery.
Organic pesticide argument
A former pest-control technician argued that organic pesticides merely use natural ingredients and can be harsher than synthetic products, challenging the hosts' assumption that organic automatically means safer.

If I had a good side, I'd ask him to get it. NBC 739 is in the studio with us this morning, and we'll be going live with NBC 739 in about 20 minutes. So there you go. Welcome to the program. We are actually working today on President's Day. So enjoy, all four of you. Are we really working? Are we just here? That's right. I just said. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. I got a little thing and I just want to make sure I passed on the info. There you go. Everybody needs to settle down. Stop screaming at each other. Everybody's screaming at me. You're screaming. Wow, chaos. We have so many things to talk about. What a weekend. We got to talk about the Daytona 500. We got to talk about NBC 739 being in here.
We've got to talk about my weekend at the spa. NBC San Diego is what I keep being told. NBC San Diego. Oh, so don't say 739? So you're only known as NBC San Diego. I like it. Great. I already tweeted it. Great. Me too. Damn it. Mikey. Maybe I write that down. That's why you wrote it. Yeah. Okay. Did you think I was trying to remind you that there was news cruising there? Yeah, I was like, 94.9, pal. NBC San Diego. Why don't we shut the mother down, rewind, and come on back. Megan and Spencer are in here. Spencer, photographer, and Megan's the reporter. Oh, yeah, she is. Oh, wow, Jay. Oh, boy. Just throwing it out there. You have a fan in there, Megan. Hubba, hubba. Oh, boy. He just said something that all the kids are saying. He just said, hubba.
Hubba. All the 20-year-olds, you know. That's a good bit with them. That is the hip lingo. That's right. Pick it up and throw it down. That's right. So we'll be talking about Daytona 500. We're going to talk about my weekend at the spa. Oh, boy. Manly. Oh. Yeah. Now I know you're gay. I go to the spa. You macromayed yourself a pair of jean shorts. You look very pampered this morning. Yeah. Very well rested. Really well rested. Extra shiny. Mm-hmm. Yes. Tan, a little bit tan. Did you go tanning? Yeah, this weekend was actual sun. We actually had sun this weekend. Thought it was going to be... Yeah. Cloudy all weekend. Were you out of town? Yeah, where were you? It was pouring where I was. There was some sun that was peeking through. We had sun all day yesterday. All day yesterday. Oh, it rained all morning for us. It did? Yeah. That was nice. It was nice out. I actually got out of my house yesterday. Good for you, Mike. I know, and moved. Went to the mailbox? Yeah. We're going to do a President's Day quiz that no one will be able to answer anything to. I know. None of us know anything about it. Who's going to win it? I say you will win it. I think I will.
LLB is pretty smart. What if we all tie with none? Yeah, this is a very good possibility. We can't answer one question. We're going to be talking about what's going on at Point Loma Nazarene. And 7.30 this morning, we're going to be talking about something that's happening in one of our lives that's, you know, not the greatest news in the world. But it is what it is. And we'll talk about it. So that'll be at 730 this morning. So, Woodsy, the Daytona 500 was yesterday or Saturday? It was yesterday. Yeah? Guess who won? A 20-year-old little boy. He turned 20 the day before. Oh, my. I've never heard of him before. Me neither. Well, I don't follow NASCAR that much, but I do know the big names. I know Carl Edwards and, you know, the Bush guy. I guess I really don't follow it at all. But, man, this guy went out, and it was his first win. And he wins the Super Bowl of racing the Daytona 500. You can tell how excited he is. When we cross the checkered flag, I'm pretty sure I blacked out or something. I don't know. But I don't remember doing anything until I started doing burnouts, except screaming over the radio. I mean, it always feels like a joke when something, well, nothing like this has ever happened to me. But this, I mean, it feels like it's just a dream. It's going to be weird. It's got to be weird. Yeah.
First race you win is the Daytona 500. You go down. Everything you do from there is second place. But man, how cool is that? It's amazing. His first race. I watched a lot of highlights of it. But I know that Dale Earnhardt Jr., it was a big deal for Dale Earnhardt Jr. It was the anniversary of his dad's death at the Daytona 500. And so sort of in a, I don't know, like a storybook way. I think everybody was kind of hoping that he would do well. And he got knocked out of the race. There was a huge wreck. A few of them. Yeah. The big one knocked out 14 cars. Yeah. 14-car pileup. And Jeff Gordon's car was mangled, and he was done. And he hasn't won a race in a long, long time. Yeah. A long, long time. But he was expected to do pretty well. Yeah. It's just really cool for this kid. Again, his name is Trevor Bain. 20 years old, his second career sprint cup start, he won the friggin' Daytona 500. No, good for him. Yeah. Do you think he drank a couple Budweiser's? Well, he's only 20, so probably not. Probably Sprite. This is the Egyptian crowd going crazy for him. Of course, NASCAR, huge in Cairo. Huge, huge. They're just starting to get it there now, you know? Yeah. Took a while, but I think that, you know.
Once they saw how handsome Jimmy Johnson was, they were all sort of, they started to come around. We do not like Carl Edwards. He's cocky, you know, he's cocky. Tony Stewart, too. Tony Stewart is an arrogant guy, but this, you know. This Jimmy Johnson, I like. And I like this kid, this new kid. He seems pretty good. Good future. Yeah, I think he has bright days ahead. You know, the one thing about Jimmy Johnson is I love his Chevy stores in El Cajon. I do. I have to say, if you're looking for a Chevy and you want it your way, check out the Jimmy Johnson Chevrolet in El Cajon. Every time I'm in San Diego, I make sure to stop. Always. Always to stop. So back to you guys in America. So went to La Costa Resort and Spa this weekend for my wife and I's anniversary slash Valentine's Day. And, you know, Rebecca had such a plan. You know, she on Friday wanted to she made an appointment at the spa. She was going to go get her makeup done.
And then after getting her makeup done, you know, dress up, get all dressed up. And we were going to go to the Blue Fire Grill, which is this real nice restaurant there at La Costa Resort. Yeah, it's delicious. And so, as you know, big rainy weekend, you know. And so we got there and we got into the room. And I noticed that it was starting to sprinkle. And I was very sleepy. Oh, boy. What time is this? Friday? Maybe. Yeah, it's a long day. You've been up since 1.30. Yeah, 5 p.m. Call room service, get some coffee. Well, oh, wow. Sienna, that would have been a good idea. I wish I had thought of that. I wish I had thought of that. Usually there's some Artie in the room. Drink like a little Red Bull or something. Grab a Red Bull. Monster. I didn't have any Red Bull or Monster. Otherwise, boy. Do a couple of jumping jacks. Good idea. You know what? All of these I think I'll write down for the future. Oh, okay. For the future. All right. So what did you do? Well, I manipulated my wife. What I did was I said, I go, babe, you're going to go out in this.
in this weather and get your makeup done because when you come out of the place it's going to be raining do you really want that you didn't oh yeah you didn't well done sir monster and and she and i could see now husbands understand what i'm saying when i say this all this is is a hook in the water i gotta see if the bass believes that this is real bait Because sometimes the fish get real smart and they go, that's bait. What am I, stupid? I know that's a worm and there's a hook. And if I bite it, I'm going. I'm done. I'm in the boat. It's not every day she can go get herself pampered. She's taking care of three kids. I understand that. I understand that. You know what? I'll remember that for the future. But this particular night, I didn't think of that. And so she gave me. about a five second look out the window that made me go, aha. She's considering. She swam past and she goes, that smells good. That smells good. She actually took a nipple off that bait. What'd she say? And she goes, that's all she did. She goes, and I went, I think I got her. You could go either way at that point. So I go, plus it's so cold out there. Isn't that cold? It's windy.
It's windy. San Diego. Yeah. It's never that really bad. Oh, it was cold. It was cold that night. So cold. It's crazy. I said, you know, another option, babe, is we could just stay in. We just light this, you know, there's a fireplace here. We just light the fireplace and we just watch some movies, you know. Oh, also appealing. Just order in some room service. And she goes, yeah, well, but I already paid. You know, I paid for this makeup thing. I go, maybe we call them and we see. You know, if because it's raining and, you know, the situation, you know, with the rain and everything, maybe they will reconsider, you know, she goes, well, let me see. So she called and they said, sure, no problem. We'll take it right off the bill. You don't even have to worry about it. Wow. That's when things started to go awry. You're good, my friend. I know I was good. But then but then I got my blew up in your face, blew up my face. Why?
Well, I chose the movie. It was Unstoppable. You've been wanting to see that for a long time. Yeah, it was awful. You even chose the movie? Yeah, I chose the movie. It was awful. Yeah, it was terrible. You should have watched the romantic comedy. I know we should have. I'll remember that, it'll be for the future. For the future. For the future, you know. I wish I'd have thought of that then. You've got a lot of notes. Yeah. Take some notes. I don't think you'll remember in the future. Yeah, probably won't. But we watched Unstoppable terrible. And then, you know, they're remodeling La Costa. And so the menu was very limited for ordering food. We didn't know that. We didn't know that. And so I was like, so what do you want? Babe, you want? She's a vegetarian. Hates seafood of all kind. Well, babe, it looks like they got Peking duck and... Scalloped wrapped pot stickers. Which one are you? Poor Rebecca. She could have been getting her hair and makeup done. This look in her face was like, are you kidding that that's what they have? They have scalloped scallop and shrimp pot stickers and Peking duck. She goes, can you just call and see if they'll make me a green salad? I said, sure. So I had the green salad and I ordered up some stuff and they bring it.
And we opened the tin top of her salad. And I'm not kidding you. It was four wedges of romaine lettuce. And that was it. Some julienned carrots laid on top of it. And a side of ranch dressing. I'm hungry for her. Me too. And I tried mine and it wasn't particularly good either. Mike! I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know. You guys could have been all decked out in a nice restaurant eating whatever you want. I'll remember that for the future. Oh, my God. You won't remember. Oh, maybe I write it down or something. Maybe we remind you. You remind me. It's fun venturing out in the rain. Yeah, sure. It's an adventure. You probably could have called the front desk and said, you guys have umbrellas?
They did, but you know how it is. Windy. Yeah, the rain. The wind blows. Yeah, it blows the water into it. But the restaurant's part of La Costa, isn't it? Yeah, but you've got to get to it. You've got to get in your car. You've got to go at least, what, 50 yards? No, no, no. It actually was. A couple steps. It actually was. You've got to get in your car and drive to it. It's like 70 yards. Yeah. It's not a big deal. They would have had really good food waiting for you. Oh, it's a delicious restaurant. Your wife would have looked gorgeous. She always looks gorgeous, but. Full makeup. They usually have live music on Friday and Saturday. Oh, that would have been so romantic. You guys could have danced. Yeah. Under the stars. You know in an airplane cockpit when you're taking off in an airplane how it has that throttle? Yeah. You know? Rebecca put pout and irritation mode into full throttle. I mean just powered it up. Yeah. I know that move. Yeah. It's a great move. Yeah. And I said, oh, no. Because I saw it. I saw the acceleration. I saw the throttle being moved up. And she goes, you ever see a couple pieces of wedges as lettuce for your anniversary? Oh, no. Wow. Oh, boy. Can we say hi to Megan on the air? Sure. Can we say hi to you? Hi. Hi, Megan. Do I put these on? Sure, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Wait, wait, wait. There you go. There you go. They're fixed.
Perfect. We got it, Jay. Leave her alone. Megan from NBC San Diego. Good morning. Thank you so much for letting us come. You're very welcome. Hey, by the way, can I tell people what I asked you off the air? Sure. I said to Megan, I said, I'm married. I'm not asking for me, but do you have a boyfriend or husband? She said, no. I said, well, maybe we, you know, find you. an eligible, intelligent, good-looking, self-sufficient, rich bachelor. Carb-eating, too. Carb-eating. She said carb-eating. Non-tanning. Non-tanning. And I said, listen, both Woods and I said, hey, if that's the deal, we might be the perfect guy for you, but we're taken. We're taken. I'm sorry. Woods does tan, though. I have tanned. I don't get tanned. I have tanning lotion in my gym bag. Oh, wow. That's safe tanning. If you can't tone it, tan it. Oh, so you actually put in the lines. Well, I'm just not real toned. I'm kind of chubby. When you have color, you look better. You look better when you have some color. Right. But anyway, Megan is with us today, and she said, yeah, sure, she'll give it a shot.
She won't. She will. She's not going to, but it's fun. Don't say that. I'll try. Just for fun. This is for fun. Yeah, for sure. For sure. Yeah. Okay. We'll see. I mean, if something comes out of it, something comes out of it. But if it doesn't, then that's fine, too. Now, she's here in two and a half minutes. We're going to be live on NBC San Diego. Yep. So you'll interview us while you're live on the air on our microphones, and we'll be live on television. Yes. I have an IFB in right now. Am I right here? Oh, my gosh. So I can hear two different shows as I'm sitting here. Listen. I don't know how you guys do that, but you television people get used to it. I don't know that I could ever get used to trying to concentrate on one thing, and hearing someone talking in my ear would be so distracting. This is the first time I've done two live shows at the same time, television and the radio. So this isn't first for me. So we'll see how it goes. I hope I don't start talking to myself. That's okay. Well, can we continue to talk about our stuff until we go live?
Perfect. Okay, cool. If you hear me all of a sudden interject and talk to Marianne and Jason. You bet. You'll know why. You bet. Because we'll all be on TV as well. Exciting day here. That's right. So, got a massage. Got a facial. Oh, boy. Pedicure? And manicure. Oh, I see that they didn't buff your fingernails. I asked them not to. I got a manicure. Did you get any color? I didn't get any color this time. He usually does. I usually get pink. If I'm feeling like Avril purple, you know. He doesn't. He gets them all shined up, though. They're gleaming. I don't. You have. He asked them not to. He didn't know. But you have. It was his first time. Woods. What? Didn't happen on purpose. She did it, and I didn't like it. Once she did the first one, you didn't stop her. No, dude, I didn't know what she was doing. You waited for us to shame you when you came in the following morning. Listen, I think I'm open enough about this stuff. I didn't want shiny nails. I told the girl that I had this weekend, I said, listen, my friends made a lot of fun about my shiny nails. Don't buff. Please don't buff my nails. I'll never hear the end of it. Okay. No? Different situation. So, anyway, that was my weekend.
The spa. Nice weekend, though. Very nice. Yeah. No problems with the massage? No. No, I thought it was great. How was he? It was a female masseuse. Oh, weird. I only use female. I will only use female masseuse. Did Rebecca have a guy? No. She's not allowed. That's not fair. Girl masseuse. Girl masseuse. Upon your request or her request? She should have had a male if you had a female. Right. You guys are trying to make something out of where nothing exists. Did you make a special request? For both of you to have females? She prefers a female masseuse. Did you make a special request? We all do. Ever since I've asked her to make that, you know. I've asked her to prefer that. I've asked her to prefer that. You know, guys are better at getting the knots out on a female body. They know it better. So, you know, if she wants a real good massage. Maybe they keep their eyes on their own paper. I agree, Sienna. I agree. They can get the knots out better. They can. You know what? This girl was just fine. You should let her try both and make the comparison. Instead of just deciding for her.
Oh, no need. She's already had a male masseuse before. A couple guys. She has? Good morning, Marianne and Jason. Oh, can I interrupt you now? Yeah, sure, sure. Hi, this is the first time we're doing this. We're live on TV and we're live on 94.9 The Mikey Show. Say hi to everybody. Say hi to Marianne and Jason. Hi, guys. Hi, guys. We're talking about massages right now. Yeah, because I was pampered this week. Appropriate massages. I was pampered. Yes. Mikey got a massage. Mikey got a massage, so we're discussing that in depth right now. As a matter of fact, it's not the most manly thing in the world for a guy to get a massage. But I even said to your producers off the air, I saw Marianne and I said, is it strange that as a guy, I saw Marianne and I said, that's a cute top. I wouldn't say that live on Tuesday. We love it, Mary Ann. I was just tweeting her. I said, I love that top. You look beautiful. And I thought the same thing. I thought, that's a cute top. That was the first thing you said. A lot of guys don't really think cute top, but I did. I wonder if Mary Ann also got a pedicure and a manicure this weekend, much like yourself. I did. I don't know. Mary Ann, did you?
No. Mikey. I did. But she wishes she did. I was forced. I was forced. We know what happens behind the television screen, and this is what's going on in radio. So you're getting to see what everyone looks like. You're listening to everyone in the car. You're like, what do they look like? What do they do? Well, here's the Mikey Show right now. I think you guys should introduce yourselves, if that's okay. Sure, sure. All right, who should we start with? Lauren, let's start with you. Okay. Hi, I'm Lauren, also known as L.O.B. on the Mikey Show. I'm 30 years old. Hi, I'm Woods. I am 35 years old and happy to be here today. Okay, and Sienna's over here. She's here early. I'm Sienna, 25. Do the news. Hi. And, of course, this is Mikey. I have to say, by being over here, you see how everyone gets along really well. You guys have been talking and bantering. It's like a family up here this morning. Very much. It's hard to tell the difference between on the air and off the air. And that is the deal with the Mikey Show. I mean, we're a year into this thing now, and we've gelled really well. And, you know, we're a reality show on the radio. And so one of the things that we're going to be doing later in the morning is talking about something that is kind of a bummer.
in our lives, but we're going to talk about it. Yeah, we'll talk about that. And, yeah, you're getting the TV lingo right there. Yeah, so if you want to listen to it, 94.9, The Mikey Show, we're here this morning. So, Mary Ann Jason, I'll send it back to you. The first time I've done... And Jay, yes, of course. Don't forget Jay. Hey, hi, Jay. Thank you, Mary Ann. Thank you, Mary Ann. Little angel in the booth back there. We're having a lot of fun this morning. All right, back to you guys. Little angel. Are we clear? We're clear. Are we clear? He knew all the TV lingo. See, I was doing this. That was like the rap song. Yeah. No, I got it. Nice job. No, it was perfect. I got it. All right. So, Sienna, give us a hint of some President's trivia. All right. Here we go. Because today's President's Day. I'm going to read it. Are you buzzing in? Let's buzz in. Okay. I'm just going to read you these questions from CNN. Am I joining? Yeah. So, if you know the answer, you buzz in by saying your name. Oh, like Megan. Yeah. President's Day is the unofficial name of the federal holiday honoring which president's birthday? Mikey. President Washington. Warren. Woods. I don't know. Well, is that right or wrong? Lincoln. The answer is Abraham Lincoln. Oh, nice job. Fine. Negative one for Mikey. What is the holiday's official name? Woods. Woods. President's Day. No. Meghan. American President's Day? No. Lauren.
U.S. President's Day? First President's Day is the answer. Well, he wasn't the first president, Lincoln, so it doesn't make any sense. At one time it was a first, and they just kept it that. Okay, yes or no? Are states required to recognize Washington's birthday? Woods, no. Megan, yes. The answer is... No. Federal holidays affect only federal agencies. Okay, true or false? Congress takes a week-long recess. Mikey, true. Oh, it's false. You really, you guys? Congress takes a week-long recess tied to President's Day. True is the answer. Good job, pal. The birthday of which other public figure is a federal holiday? Lauren. Martin Luther King. Woods. No. Liberace. No. The answer is Martin Luther King. There you go. Nice. Are you guys into this? Well done. Is this fun? I like that buzzer. It doesn't seem like it's the winning buzzer. It seems like the kind of weird buzzer. It is. It is a weird buzzer. No, I'm bored by it. Here's the thing. I'm bored silly. And here's the deal. Here's the deal with President's Day. Like, really, we hope that you take this day to reflect.
on the presidents. Happy Presidents Day. Lincoln was a great man. That's right. What was he like when you babysat him? He was fun. You don't really see that, but he was fun. Frankie Muniz is the guy who was the star of Malcolm in the Middle. He got into a fight with his girlfriend. What was his name? Girlfriend. He had to call 911. Because she was throwing stuff at him and trashing his place. And we have the story and the call itself. Oh, boy. Next. Welcome back to Mikey Show. 570-1949 is our number. Forgot to tell you the word of the day today. It's cantina. So when you hear the word of the day, I'll use that word sometime between now and 10. You just call it a bar. Yeah, you just call it a bar. Yeah, it is a Hispanic word. I understand. You are Hispanic. I am technically Hispanic. Meaning I'm full-blooded Mexican, but I am. No, seriously, I really am. I know. Anyway, the word of the day is, Cantina, when you hear me say that, you're going to win three things. Caller number nine will win a pair of Anarchy or Angel sunglasses. You'll also win a pair of tickets to CG Love and Special Sauce, April 8th at House of Blues, and a Mikey Show t-shirt. So, stay tuned for that. And then at 7.30, we were...
Talking about this, we're going to be talking about something that is actually really sad in one of our lives. But, you know, that's what we do. We talk about what's happening in our lives. And we're going to talk about that this morning at 730. M1 Veronica from Escondido. Hi. Good morning, guys. How are you? Good. Good. Okay. So three things. Number one, you guys look great on TV. Very good. Number two, she's not going to take you guys up on hooking her up and finding someone. I'm willing to volunteer. I understand. Well, we talked to Megan off the air. She is willing to do it, and she's going to do it. She is. And so we will get that rolling. We'll get that all dialed in. Go ahead. Oh, and then number three, I just want to thank you guys. Okay, Mike, I listened to you for five years about, and when you were with the other station, I never had the friends that I have with you guys. Lucky enough to have brunch with L.O.B. And then after that, B.F.M.C. was fantastic yesterday. He was staying in a place we were having brunch. So it was fantastic. And after that, me, Lizzie, Whoopi, and H.B. spent the rest of the day together. And I didn't get home until about 6.30 last night. So thank you for the group of friends, including you five. That is awesome. That is awesome. And it's true.
I mean, that's what M1s are. All of us are like a family, and M1s are extended family. And M1 is a Mikey Show listener. You don't have to sign up for it or anything like that. If you listen to the Mikey Show and you're a big fan of the Mikey Show, you're an M1. You're already one. That's right. Exactly. So thank you. We appreciate it. Thank you. We had a great time. I'm going to go make some Rice Krispie Treats. Nice. Some best Rice Krispie Treats I've ever had. Thank you. If M1s want to sign up, they can. It's a $5 charge. It goes right to me. And I'll set up a PayPal and make it right. That's not true. I had fun with NBC San Diego being in it. Me too. That was really cool. Are you guys still good to go? Are you need any? Okay. Yeah, yeah. We had a great time, though. This was a lot of fun. It was fun. Yeah. Hopefully, at the end of the week, because they're going to be covering radio all week, hopefully at the end of the week, we were your favorite. Right now, we are your favorite. Right now, I will say you are hands down your favorite. Please, come back any time. That's right. Oh, boy. Thank you. Yeah, see? Such a nice guy. Ignore him. He's kind of creepy. He's kind of... What? He's being friendly. We keep him in another room. We keep him in another room for that reason. I see this. Oh, yeah. You want to hold the mic? Oh, wow.
Oh, wow. Woods is pretending to be a news reporter holding their microphone. Yeah, he's doing trouble. Look at that. Hi, this is Woods. I'm standing here in front of the Escondido Cycle Center, and it's a beautiful day here in San Diego. Wow. And back to you. That's right. What do you think? I lose a couple of these chins. I got a shot, right? Wow. You going somewhere? That was good. Very impressive. Thank you. No, it was a lot of fun. We were looking forward to this. You know, we were so happy to be here. It's good times. Spencer and I were really happy. TV makes me nervous. If I had to, like, be on TV like that, I would be a lunatic. Yeah. Did you get nervous when you went live? I mean, it's different than going live live. Yes, very. You did? Yes, very. I can sit behind here for hours. Oh, yeah. Getting in front of that camera, I'm like. I'm fat, I'm fat, I'm fat, I'm fat, I'm fat, I'm fat. I did not like what a camera does on me. I agree. Oh, it makes me so nervous. Oh, I thought you guys did great. I didn't give you any warning, too. It's fine. That's better. You're pros, you're pros. It was fun. Next time, I put a bag on my head. Oh, well. And then we'll be good to go. 570-1949 is our number if you want to call us. And you can also text us, 949mikey at gmail.com. Hopefully, people are listening. It's President's Day, and so there's a lot of people that are off today. So hopefully, we do have some people listening. Maybe just lay in bed and listen.
It's going to be a really big show, though. Yeah, it is. It is. We got a lot on the show today. Frankie Muniz. Am I pronouncing it? Muniz. Muniz. Yeah. That was Muniz. All right. Muniz. Well, he got into a fight with his girlfriend, and she was throwing stuff around, and it was real bad. Okay, this is last week, and there's a lot of he said, she said about it, but it's been all over the news, and I mean, so bad to... where they're saying he had a loaded gun to his head during a light. I mean, crazy stuff. Malcolm in the middle? Malcolm in the middle of Malcolm with his girlfriend whose name is Alicia Turnbaugh. And reports are now coming out. They're fine. They had their Valentine's Day together. Oh, really? Everything is good. No charges were filed. You know, they're looking at it as a... learning opportunity. That's what they're saying. It's so messed up. Well, wait until they play you this. It's so messed up. You're going to hear this. You're going to go, these two are back together? Yeah. Listen to this. 911, what's the location of your emergency? I'm at 591. What's going on? My girlfriend is drunk and she's going crazy. Okay. And she's crashing my house. Literally, lamps, everything. And she's going crazy. You hear her in the background yelling? Yeah. She's in the background yelling.
She's hitting me in the face. I don't know what to do because I'm not going to lose control. Are you in a house or an apartment, sir? I'm in my house. I don't want there to be a big problem. I'm going to get officers started. What's your name, sir? What is your name, sir? Tell me your name. They don't want to. You don't want it? Easy big time. Well, you know. Well, he doesn't want it. You're Frankie Munoz, all right? Not freaking. Well, he was a pretty big actor for a while. He's young and that's smart of him. He wants help and doesn't want everyone to know. I want to make a big deal because I'm a celebrity. I don't want to make a big deal. Well, he is. Is he? Yes, he is. Come on. I don't want to make a big deal of this. I'm a celebrity. What? You're Frankie Munoz. He's still a celebrity. Easy. Marlon Brando. You're okay. He's obviously not an A-list celebrity, but he is one. He's still a celebrity. He was. Every one of us knows who he is. What a clown. No. What a little teeny tiny clown. She's just my girlfriend. She's a little girl. Okay. I need you to answer some questions because I've already got a call entered here. What is her name? Her name's Alicia. She's got a call from the neighborhood. Is she white, black, Hispanic? She's white.
They need a description. Oh, yeah, I guess so. No, Woods. She's just going, listen, she's really making a big deal over there. Can you give me her nationality? I kind of like to stereotype her. What size broad does she wear? Yeah, I mean. How old is she? How old is she? She's 33. She's what? 33. How old is that little guy now? He's still 14, I think. Yeah, he's probably like 28, 29. That's fine. We're going to come out and help you with that. I don't want to make a big deal, please. So I called 911. But I don't want to make a big deal. He doesn't want to link to TMZ or something. Hey, you know what? Why are you so critical of Frankie Munoz? Because he's a little clown. I'm not jealous. He's a little clown. No, he's not. Trust me. Trust me. I made more movies in Frankie Munoz than last year, okay? He's an established actor. He's a little dealer. I just want you to talk me through it. I can't cancel this call, sir. What is your name? What's your first name? You just damaged the house. You're still damaging it. Just leave it where it is. She's freaking out. She's throwing stuff at him. She's destroying his house. He thought, I'm going to call her. Yeah, I want the cops to come. I can't get her under control. I don't want to hit her. I don't want to freak out. But he just said, I don't want to make a big deal. Can you just talk to her? And she's like, no, I can't cancel. I'm not canceling this. I'm sending people out. That's what you wanted.
Called 911. Yeah, I feel bad for him. I do too. I feel bad for him. He freaked out. What is your first name? Malcolm. My first name is Malcolm in the middle. My first name is Malcolm in the middle. My last name is middle. Wait a minute. You're telling me, sir, that your name is Malcolm in the middle? That's what I'm telling you. I'm telling you that my name is Malcolm. But that was a television show, sir. I understand that. I was the star of it. I'm Malcolm. I'm Malcolm in the Middle. Right. Sir, how can you possibly be Malcolm in the Middle and be calling right now and telling me that your name is Malcolm in the Middle? I don't want to say my real name. I'm a celebrity. Malcolm in the Middle, what is your real name? I can't tell you. I am a celebrity. I understand that, Malcolm in the Middle. But I need...
Your real name. I can't tell you. Do you understand, though, when they do the dispatch, they'll say dispatching such and such to Frankie Muniz's house, you know, and paparazzi listen to those dispatch things. Malcolm in the Middle? Too bad. I'll IMDB you if you don't tell me your real name. Well, you won't find much. Tracy Muniz? Frankie. I've been F-R-A-N-K-I-E. Okay. Why don't you say, like, Francis or something? Frank. Yeah. Yeah, maybe go by Frank Munoz. Frankie Munoz. Munoz. Munoz. I'm pretty sure it's Munoz. Mikey. Oh, is he Hispanic? I don't know. Yes, I'm in there. Is there a tilde over the end? Mikey. Mikey. L-O-B knows that it's called a what? A tilde. Everybody knows that. A tilde? A little squiggle. A little squiggle. I thought that was an enya. Enya. The letter is Enya. Oh, no, wait. Enya is the one that sang Sail Away. Great. I get them confused all the time. Sorry about that. Well, the good news is no charges were filed. Things seemed to be okay between he and his girlfriend. He didn't press charges on her. Oh, yeah, they sound okay. They sound really healthy. Very healthy. He didn't press charges for her beating him up.
For him getting his butt kicked? She ran and attacked the house. No charges were followed. Punched him in the face. She punched him. Good Lord. I thought for a second when the 911 person said, is it an apartment or a house? He paused and I thought he was going to be like... It's a mansion. Yeah. It's a mansion. It's actually, we're at the Salvation Army shelter. I haven't worked in a while. It's a single family home. What does that count as? It's a 1,400 foot duplex. It's very expensive. It's in Manhattan Beach. It's a ranch. Don't judge me. Yeah. It's a ranch style duplex in Manhattan Beach. However, it costs. $40 million. Yeah, I mean, it's an expensive duplex in Manhattan Beach. Sorry, I don't care. I just need the address. I understand that. I don't care how much it was. I get it. I just want you to know it wasn't a cheap duplex. Like, it was actually... It doesn't matter. I just need to get officers out there. Can I just tell you that...
Steven Spielberg's son actually lived next door to me in the duplex next to it. So it's not cheap. Look, Malcolm. That's all I'm telling you. Malcolm, I don't care. This is LA. Nothing is cheap. Malcolm in the middle. Malcolm, I need to get officers to your home immediately. Okay, fine. I'm just, I want you to know that it's not like Florence Henderson lives next door, okay? Steven Spielberg's son. Now, what's wrong with Florence Henderson? Nothing. She had a longer career than you do. I'm not saying anything. Trust me. Okay. You could do a lot worse than Florence Henderson, young man. Aren't you a 911 operator that should just be helping me right now? Shouldn't you just be giving me the information I'm asking for? I'm trying to give you the information, but you're judging me because I have a 1,400-foot duplex. Fair enough. Mikey, you would actually like hanging out with Malcolm in the middle because he is known for having... He's shorter than Mikey. Well, that and... That's the reason. That and... No, he has, like, the most awesome cars. He makes a lot of money, and he's known for spending dough on these cars. And everyone sees these things, and they're like... I think he was on Punk'd crying about his car. Yeah, when he was like 15. He had like a Ferrari. Oh my gosh. He had a driver. We got a text that says, wow, you guys ever really get dressed up for TV? It's M1 Eric Terman. Yeah, so maybe we put on some, you know, nicer clothes. Clothes.
Put makeup on. Yeah, we put on makeup. We did our hair every day. I usually come in here with a poncho and a sombrero. It's actually hanging right there. That's your normal garb up on the wall. That's right. I'm usually in sweatpants, just giving up. Yeah, still doing like a woman that just gave birth. Yeah, exactly. You know, that's how we all kind of dress. We do. We wake up early, you know, just in a room, the five of us. And nobody sees us but the five of us. Right. Yeah. Well, listen. Here's the deal. When we have television in, we try to put our best face forward. I have a face for radio. That's the reason I'm doing this. I have a body for radio, for sure. Maybe we eat differently. Maybe not. Who cares anymore? I had two Danish's this weekend. Oh, my goodness. In the same day. Giant ones. In the same day. That big. You ever so fat, you just pack up? The room service that was delivered to your room? Take it home with you? Take it home with you. Why not? Why wouldn't you? You ever so fat that you just go to Costco and you see danishes and you actually pick up the whole tray and you go... Can we talk about Jay on Friday and the pizza that he took? Oh, yeah. I didn't see it. Oh, my gosh. We had pizza. Extreme Pizza brought us pizza on Friday. For everybody. They brought, and I'm not kidding you, no less than a dozen pizzas. Yes. At least a dozen pizzas. And at the end of the day,
Jay's walking out with a large pizza box. And we thought, oh, he's taking home some pizza. And I looked around and there were no more pizza boxes. They'd been cleaned up. We would have liked to have taken some. Sure, of course. If I had known there was delicious leftover pizza, I could have had some. I wasn't informed of it. Well, I was kind of hungry. So I go, hey, Jay, are you taking home some pizza? He goes, yeah. I go, could I have a piece? He goes, oh, yeah, sure, Mikey. Yeah, no problem. So he opens this pizza box. And there's 12 pounds of pizza. It's a whole pizza and another pizza. That's another pizza. 12 pounds of pizza. I call it a pizza sandwich. Yeah. And L.O.B. goes. Gosh, Jay. Thanks for sharing. You guys never take any. There's always leftover food. I always scoop it up. Because you always scoop it up. Don't tell us. Because you Hawkeye all the stuff. We took the rest of the pizza across. There was more pizza left. We took it over to the other side of the building. Well, before you do that, come in and say, are you guys done? Yeah, I've never done that. You guys will go, no, no, no. It's fine. So you know what he does? He pulls the kid card. He's like, I got four kids, you know, and they're all hungry, and I'm just trying to feed my kids. Chances Jasper feasted on some pizza this weekend are pretty good.
Chances Jasper will be feasting on pizza for the next year based on what he brought home. There was so much pizza. I had pizza almost every single meal for like a weekend. My goodness. Daddy, please, can we go? What's for breakfast? Pizza. Eat your pizza. Warm it up. You want it cold or hot? You got choices. Stick up the stove. It's good for a week at least. I got a wood stove. We got to put something in it. It's all gone. That cheese don't go bad. It's frozen. It's fine. Oh, my God. So good. Matt drove my car this weekend, and he opened up the driver's side door and goes, whoa. I had all the candy wrappers from the candy that Fiona gave us for Valentine's Day. And I said, leave me alone. I have an eating problem. Speaking of, yeah, for Valentine's Day, Sienna gave us each of us a little thing of chocolates. Mine's missing. We ate yours.
How dare you, people? It's mixed into the general candy bucket. Yeah, it's mixed into the general candy bucket. It's not yours. Mike, you just left it here. That doesn't give anyone a right. Hey, if it's here, if it's left here, it's fair game. You know that. It's not fair game. It's chocolate in front of little chocolate monsters. In front of this. Don't grab your gut. How do you leave chocolate in front of that? All right. It's so good. Chocolate is my weakness. Sienna brought it. Little tiny wrapped devils. And I feasted on all of them. Plus a Russell Stover's box from Matt. Oh, wow. Nice. Woods said that he saw a true grit. Yeah. And he didn't like it. Wow. What? More like true git. Yeah, true git. True git. Much better word for that. You didn't like it? You tell me, man, that in 1865, people, especially 14-year-old girls, talked like Elizabethan poets. Because that's how she talks. I am here too far to take care of the business at hand. And I'm like, really? And then, you know, you guys know I love Jeff Bridges. I love Bad Blake. His character that he played was so over the top. It sounded like he had a mouthful of gravy in his mouth. And he's like, I liked it. I saw a clip of it and I kind of thought that myself. But I was like, yeah, maybe when I see the movie, it'll be different.
In the clip I saw, I couldn't even understand what he was saying. Like, it goes, And I go, Yeah, couple that with the 14-year-old girl. Hello, sir. I'd like to retain your services to go and hire a bounty hunter. And then he does his bit. Bye, guys. Bye, guys. NBC San Diego's taking off. We love you so much. Thank you guys. We love you. And we'll see you soon because we're going to do this bit, Megan. Fix Megan up. There you go. My Friday night was ruined per a movie recommendation from Woods. Oh boy. What? Winter's Bone. You didn't like it? It was brilliant. Oh, it was so boring. Nothing happened. Well, you probably got the triple X version. No. You didn't realize. Based on the name. Based on the name. The gist of the movie was displayed within the first 10 minutes. And I was like, got it. Brilliant acting. My wife waited until I fell asleep at the hotel to rent in the room Black Swan. I wake up in the middle of the night to Natalie Portman making out with a woman. I'm like, are you kidding me this? The worst thing could ever happen.
So, I don't know if you've heard about this yet, but this politician in Wisconsin, you ever heard some really important news, but you didn't hear it from the person you should? You hear it, like, through Twitter or Facebook or from some friend, and you're like, why am I hearing this from you first? That's kind of how this guy in Wisconsin felt, and he goes on a rant, and we have the audio. We'll play next. Had NBC San Diego in here, and it was really cool. They're really cool people. And you can also catch us today at 4 o'clock. They're going to have us on again at 4 o'clock. They taped a segment for then. Let's see. So, yeah, we're going to be talking about this guy in Wisconsin, a lawmaker in Wisconsin that went off because he found something out. And the way that he found out was by hearing it on the radio. So we'll talk about that in a minute. Sienna, what's going on in the news?
If you experienced a power outage last night, here's why. More than 3,000 customers from Ocean Beach to Hillcrest were left in the dark last night. Apparently, there was a problem with an overhead electrical system. So power's back on. But if you're wondering, like, what was going on, that was it. Also, just a reminder of how Facebook is monitored, especially to young students. If you're working, your boss can look at your Facebook. Just be really careful about what you put because a La Jolla High student, which is where I went to high school, posted something on his Facebook. They're not releasing his name, but he said something along the lines of, I don't like the world, like that kind of a thing. Students brought it to the attention of the principal at La Jolla High. boy has been arrested because of it and apparently has all kinds of charges because of what he put on Facebook and is not going to be going back to the high school. The principal of La Jolla High, Dana Shelburne, sent out an email to all the parents just reminding them, look, you know, I know your kids are on Facebook, but you really need to watch what they're doing. And I got to guess it was more than I don't like the world for the kid to be arrested. And they're not saying his name and he's under the age of 18, so they're not going to release a lot of the stuff. And also, I don't know if you felt it yesterday, a 4.5 earthquake hit Baja, California.
Shook San Diego. I didn't feel anything. I didn't feel anything. On Friday, there was one as well. Didn't feel anything. Woodsy, what's going on in sports? Sports is brought to you by Frank's Red Hot. Frank's Red Hot. Get some. I did not watch the NBA All-Star game, but I did see the highlights of the dunk contest. One of the raddest dunks I've ever seen. Blake Griffin, he dunked over a car. Oh, wow. They drove a Kia out under the rim, and he dunked over it. It was incredible. And he obviously won the dunk contest. That's awesome. You have to have a superhero. It was so cool. He plays for the Clippers. He is the next Kobe, they're saying. He is phenomenal. And the NBA All-Star Game was last night. Kobe Bryant on his home court, 37 points, 14 rebounds. You ever just hog the ball? And was the MVP. Here he is. He's talking about Blake Griffin, too. Cut to. It's great for the league to get behind Blake and what he's doing. You know, it's important for me to step aside. I've had that. You know what I mean? It's about me coming out and performing and staying healthy and doing the right things after 15 years. But, you know, it's about them at this point. Kid's a baller, man. Yeah, 15 years. That's hard to believe. I know. So there you go. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show. And Woodsy is our sports guy. L.O.B. is our resident comedian.
Sienna is our news girl. Jay is our producer. Screening phones today is Alan. It's Alan. It's Alan. Alan. At 7.30, we are going to share a personal story about one of us on the show here that is sad. And it's, you know, we bring our lives to you. And that's what we're going to do. That will be at 7.30 this morning. Uh, this Wisconsin dude, this guy's a lawmaker in Wisconsin and he flipped out. And the reason that he flipped out was because he found out something about a bill that was being passed on a radio ad instead of being told about it. Uh, which brought up an interesting question for me, but let's play the audio. Last Friday morning, I was driving to a school business administrators meeting in De Pere and I turned on the radio and there was an ad saying, Hey, Support Governor Walker's budget repair bill paid by the Club for Growth. Well, guess what? I had never been given a bill. I hadn't even been given talking points yet. And I know we're in the minority, but I'm elected the same way you were elected by the same public from the state of Wisconsin, and I deserve better than that. And it's bad enough. It is bad enough that I had to hear it from a radio ad from Washington, D.C., and then show up in a meeting with no details. I find out...
From the radio. From some group. I don't even know who it is. And then when the public wants to talk, you cut them off. And then when we show up to vote, when we show up to vote, I am elected, I get it. I'm in the minority. You're right. There's only a bunch of us. But if you want to know why there are 35,000 people here, look at yourself in the mirror. And how about a little respect, at least to your colleagues? Wow. He sounds like he's pretty upset about it. Holy cow. I don't know what we're yelling about! Are you listening? I just just got a point, right? I mean, maybe you let me know. Yeah. Now, this brought up a whole thing for me about, like, you ever been told something and you find out in a way that you didn't want it? You know, you're like, hey, maybe you give me the heads up. Instead, I find out on Facebook. Instead, I find out from so-and-so. 570-194-9. I don't know. I mean, I think that probably happens even with regular people. I had my grandfather passed away on my 22nd birthday. Yeah. And he died on my birthday. My parents didn't want to upset me. Oh, wow. And even though I knew he was sick and everything. And then I got on at the time it was AOL instant messenger. And my cousin had a little away message up that let me know. Really?
Great. Thank you. It makes it worse. Thank you for the phone call. It makes it worse. I mean, you didn't want to upset me. Now I'm upset worse. I'm finding out like this. I had a buddy find out that he wasn't in a relationship any longer with the girl. She changed her status before talking to him. Maybe the heads up. Changed her status? Really? She knew it was going to happen. So she changed it before she gave him the bad news. Wow. Hi, Margie. I'm making it Margie. Hi, Margie. I just saw you changed your status to single, so should we? You saw that. Yeah. Are we good or was that a mistake? No, it wasn't a mistake. It was not? Oh, then we are not? We are no longer? Should I change my status? Yes. Should I change my? Are you okay? No. I was going to call you. You were going to call me. I was just about to call you. It was weird that you called me because I was just about to call you. Did you change the status? Okay, so yeah, you did. You changed the status before calling me. Maybe, why not call me and then change the status? Because I actually work on a modem still with my internet, and I wanted to make sure my line was going to be tied up if I was on the phone with you and trying to do my status. So I just figured I'd do the status first, then call you, and then it wouldn't really matter. One might also think that...
it was because you couldn't wait to change your status. And you were very, very happy about... So happy, in fact, that you couldn't wait to do it and then call me. So you were really happy about being single. I wouldn't say happy so much as relieved. Relieved, okay. That's a different word than I wanted to hear. But sure, okay. Yeah, got it. 570-1949 is the number. M1 Anonymous in San Diego. Are you there? What's going on? We're doing good. What's going on? to tell a story that made me think of my husband and I, we were at a family gathering of his and I didn't know his family very well. We kind of don't hang out with that side very often, but I was at their house and I was meeting his uncle and getting to know some people and he presented me as his wife, my husband, and his uncle cracked a joke and said,
Oh, I didn't know you got married again. And I thought it was a joke at first. So I go, oh, yeah, yeah, I'm number three. Ha ha. I'm just being sarcastic back. But notice that there was a little discomfort there between everybody. Oh, wow. And then later on, his aunt, who's a little crazy, she starts talking all about his ex-wife to me. And then I looked at my husband. I said, what the hell is going on? He said, you know, he just basically didn't know what to say. He's like, let's go to the bedroom. Let's go on back for a minute. He said, no, she's crazy. She's crazy. Don't listen. She doesn't know what you're talking about. He lied. Well, it took him a while to finally admit it, but it's just because there was a place in his life that he wasn't happy about. You know, it took us a while to get over, but we got over. But needless to say, I was an angry wife for about six months. Yeah. Yeah. You ever just sleep in the doghouse for six months? Yeah, not tell your wife you were married before. Not a good move. Kind of a big secret. Yeah, it's a very big secret, but we're happy and shouldn't be happier now. Oh, wow. Well, good for you. Yeah, glad you guys worked that out. Thank you. One time I found out that the rest of my radio show wasn't going to be going through the...
boss at the company that I worked for. It was weird. It was weird. Same thing they would just tell you that they were thinking about that. One would think. Yeah, but it did not go down that way. I found out through them and said, oh, wow. Oh, wow. Okay, well, you know what? Then I guess we'll just, okay, thanks. So should I just take it to the house? Yes. Take it to the house, but we are going to have somebody escort you to the office to gather your things. So I need to grab them and then we need to go? No, no, no, no. They're going to stay. You're going to go. So, and we need you to go now. That's weird. Good working with you. Take it to whatever house you want to take it to. You want to take it to. Not this house. Hopefully you get to keep your house after all this goes down. 570-1949 is the number. Word of the day, cantina. San Diego. And who would you like? I would like you, Mikey. Okay. That's fine. Hang on. That's fine. Well, not that great at this. M1 Greg, are you there? Yep. Where are you from? San Diego. And who would you like? Sienna. All right. Bam! Sweet.
And finally, M1Ninja. Ninja, are you there? I'm here. Where are you from? I am from Claremont. There you go. See you, moon. L-O-B. Ninja's my girl. She wanted me. All right. Heck yeah. Hang on the line. All right. We use our name as a buzzer. If we know what it is, we yell out our name. And if we get it wrong, we lose a point. Let's do this. Here we go. All right. What? Share. Wow. I thought it was a man. I thought that was a guy. I thought it was Adam Lambert. What song was that? Rain. Rain. Oh. So do you need an artist? Fair enough. Just artists. Okay. Because most of the titles are Rain as well, so conveniently enough. Woods. Wow. Wow. Nice. Purple Rain. Here we go. Woods. The cult. Woods ever just smear us? Yeah. This is a fair game. Just wipe our nose right in it. Uh-huh. Woods. Woods. Eurythmics. Woods four, the rest of us zero. Here we go. Mikey. Mikey. Peter Gabriel. Nice. He's in the hunt. Here we go. Woods. Willie Nelson. Oh my God. You are on one. He's on a tear. Focused. Here we go.
Sienna. LL Cool J. Yeah. What? Will Smith. Wow. Sounds like a smoother Will Smith. Yeah, that's why I was confused. Here we go. Mikey. Collective Soul. Great. I was trying to think. I had Seven Mary Three in my head. Is that song just called Rain? It is called She Gathers Rain. I almost just took a guess. Rain! I just repeated right along with Jay right there. I didn't know it was She Gathers Rain, but he started to say it, and I was like, She gathers rain! As he said it. To make it seem like I knew it was. Okay, the score is Woods 6, Mikey 2, Sienna negative 1, Lauren 0. We have three remaining, each worth three points. Perfect. Here we go. Lauren. Frank Sinatra.
She's back in the hunt. Damn it. We're all just kind of dancing here. Jiving. What is this? Nate! I'm not willing to take the three-point hit. Me neither. I can't take the three-point hit. Orange Juice Jones. Wow. Never would have gotten that. Orange Juice Jones. You don't remember that song? Oh, yeah. I remember the song. Yeah. It gets funny at the end. All right. Mikey 2, Lauren 3, Woods 6, Sienna negative 1. This is the three-pointer. This is it. This is it. Here we go. Mikey. With John Mellencamp. There he is. Good job, Woods. Woods. That was a runaway. You did good, bud. That was a big runaway. Pretty focused. M1Bear. Are you there? Oh, man. He knew how much I wanted that Mikey t-shirt. That's right. Don't spend it all in one place, pal. That's right. Woods, man. I love you. Woods, he won it for you. Hang in the line, okay? You guys get a room.
Don't wear it all out in one day. That's right. Y'all creeps. All right. So, got an email. Hope people are listening. We are live on this President's Day. Yeah. We're here. Sure are. Holiday bit. Fake holiday bit. So many people are off of work. It's ridiculous. No school. Let's see. Hey, Mikey, I love your guys' show. And I met L.O.B. at her show a couple of weekends ago. I was the guy that talked to her about Guitar Hero after the show. What was that about L.O.B.? We were talking about how the game is no longer. And yeah, we were discussing that. I was kind of listening. He had a lot to say. All right. He says, I just wanted to get your guy's opinion on what's going on with me and my wife.
After we had our daughter, we decided my wife wouldn't go back to work. The deal was she would cook five nights a week and we wouldn't have a housekeeper anymore. And she could do whatever she wanted with our money. Wow. Then once our daughter was born, we realized that was completely unrealistic and too much work for her to try and do. Plus cook and take care of our house. Well, now our daughter's two. And I think my wife is pretty well. adjusted to all of it. Oh, boy. But she cooks maybe once a week. Then we do leftovers at takeout. I think we should get back to the original deal. She says I'm being too harsh, and it's more work than I could ever imagine. And I think there's a lot of stuff on the DVR that I don't watch, and it doesn't watch itself. Oh, boy. Bring the DVR into this now? Who knows?
Maybe it's our maid that's watching it. Oh. It's M1 vinyl. Really went for it. Really went for it there. Big time. Passive aggressive is all get up. Well, what he's saying is that they still have maid. Yep. And kids too. Now, to her defense, I'll say it's a handful. It's a handful. I'll also say that it's relative. It's relative because there's a lot of people listening that are like, get off your lazy butt, blah, blah, blah. But listen, this is her reality. There are people that will look at you and say, no matter how hard you have it, there are people that will look at you and go, hey, man, there's people in countries that don't even get to eat. So it's all relative. That being said, he's got to talk to her about it. Say, hey, listen, maybe, you know, maybe things have improved.
We get back to the original deal. I don't think there's anything wrong with Santa. Got to ease her into it. He should take a couple days off work. And just be home and just sit and watch everything she's doing and see if she starts cleaning or making stuff because he's there. Yeah. And then because she will. She'll put on an act because he's home just during the day. And maybe she cooks and he says, oh, my gosh, I miss this. Can you do this more? This is so good. I love this. Maybe he just tells her, why don't you cook something? Yeah. I mean, what's the bit? We got a maid. Yeah, but you're complimenting her and getting her to do it. No, just get in the kitchen. Fix me a sandwich. I'm not asking for lobster Thermidor or anything. Maybe fix up a sandwich for the kid. That sounds great. I think it's a little bit harsh. Well, you know, happy birthday. Let me just take the day off. Are you going to play tennis or what? I think ease her into it because that is her reality. Like you said, I mean, my mom had five kids, never a nanny, never a housekeeper. She had one kid with special needs. She did it all, you know, and she still had time to socialize and everything.
Even when I hear about people having all this help, I'm like, how the heck did my mom do it? But that was her reality. And she worked too, didn't she? No, she did not. Not with the kids? No. She does now. Now she does. My mom had four kids. I had, well, I guess you could call it special needs in that I ate a lot. That was a need that was definitely different. Dietary needs. You know, it's not special needs like my son, Jake, but it's, you know, I did have a dietary need of constant food. Fair enough. I just wanted to eat all of the time. I can relate. Yes. Why doesn't this guy cook himself, too? He works. He works. Well, so does she. Really? I'm telling you. She does? I'm telling you from. The time I'm at home with Sage, it's way harder work than here. She's five months old. Yeah, still. Two-year-olds are running around. You just made me think of something. I work harder there than I do here. Sienna just made me think of this. I would tell this to M1 Vinyl. Dude, the last thing you want to do is switch places. Yeah. I don't want anything to do with that. But the difference with you is you have a full-time job. This guy has a full-time job. She doesn't have a job.
So that should be her job is to get a meal on the table when the guy comes home and have the kid. She should be making time. You have a full-time job. You get her at 4 o'clock in the morning. Kim stays home with the kids, but I will still – she'll make food almost every night. We'll eat leftovers. We don't want to waste the food. And I'll even come home and make food. Absolutely. But if ever it got to that point and she brought me leftovers every time, I'd be like, all right. How about some warm food? Yeah. Yeah, we'd just be honest with her. All I know is I don't want to switch places with Rebecca. You know, we have a group of friends, a bunch of couples. And the guys are getting together this guy's night out. And they're kind of doing this thing where they're like, hey, man, our ladies have done the girls night out. It's our turn. And I said to my wife, I'm like, I think that the reason for that is because when the girls do the girls night out. These husbands watch the kids. We're lucky we have Nita. Aren't you lucky? Nanny. Living up here. Yeah. Oh, wow. Just ignore him. It's hard, though, Sienna. I know. He's so creepy. I know. It's real weird. You're lucky. You're so lucky. That's not all he's saying, though. You know how he says that's all I'm saying? He's saying more when he goes, I know. Saying much more. She's hungry. Just know he's always going to do it.
Are you talking about? That makes my mouth water. Nita. I'm hungry. I need a au pair myself. You get it? Hungry. Like the country she's from. That's a nice au pair. But like sexual hunger. Wow. Did you hear that? She's got a real. Alright, so when we return. One of us here on the program is going to be sharing a very personal story. And we love him. We'll do that next. So we're not going to waste any time. We're going to get right to it. It's a day with a lot of heavy hearts here on the Mikey Show. And our hearts are heavy for Woodsy. And I'm going to let you explain everything. Thank you.
Thank you guys, first of all, for just being there for me. And we had a pretty rough night yesterday. Rough night last night. We got a text from our birth mother. And she said, I need to talk to you guys. I need to talk to you right away. So I looked at Jamie. She looked at me. And we knew. We knew what was going down. And she has decided to keep the baby. We had a week. He was supposed to be born next Sunday. Our plan was to drive to Colorado. We've got everything. We've got everything. We went to Costco this weekend to buy diapers. We bought 216 diapers. We've got everything, man. Clothes. We're very upset.
We're devastated at home. It's a tough place to be right now. It was a rough night. I didn't get a whole lot of sleep, and neither did Jamie. I think she woke up, and her eyes were glued together because she's been crying so much. You know, man, I go through a wide range of emotions. I was talking to my dad this morning, and I said, you know, I want to talk about it today. I want to talk about it because... I said, it's like having therapy with, you know, a couple hundred thousand people, you know, maybe more. And I said, I said, I want to let them know because everybody has been so nice to us and so welcoming since we moved here. And they've taken this journey with us. And, you know, a guy wrote yesterday and it just touched my heart. He said, man, I feel like that kid's, you know, 0.5 percent my family just because of the way you talk about him. And, you know, the constant theme through everything has been. You guys are going to be awesome parents. You guys are going to be awesome parents. And I think we will be awesome parents, just not going to be in a week. Yeah. So we got the call. Jamie called her and immediately she looked at me and I knew. I mean, gosh, I've been with my wife so long. You know, we read each other's minds, finish each other's sentences a lot. And she looked at me and I looked at her and she just kind of shook her head. And then she nodded her head. She's like, you know, it's over.
And so she was talking to the birth mom and I'll just kind of lay out. We've had a tough couple of weeks, man. We're trying to get everything lined up. And for anybody that's adopted a kid, you know, it's a very tough process. It's a very tough process. And there's a lot of red tape. It's more red tape than I ever imagined. I know so much about adoption now. I could start my own agency tomorrow. an attorney that I hired for her to facilitate some paperwork in Colorado. They conference Jamie and I in yesterday and we were listening and it was great. You know, it was great. He asked him point blank, you know, we're good to go. This is the birth family. Yes. Sold. This is it. Was there any, did you recognize any strangeness during that conversation? During that conversation? No, not at all. None.
Everything was normal. Everything was great. And it was literally three hours later that we got that text. From her, from Chelsea. From Chelsea, yeah. And we started thinking about what went wrong, what in her head made her change her mind. And the attorney had been talking to her, and he's an attorney. He's not going to sugarcoat it, and he's very blunt. And he said, this is how it's going to go down. Jamie will have a wristband in the hospital, okay? Which means this is the mother, right? And you will have the baby. You will hand the baby to Jamie. In her birthing plan that she gave us, Jamie was to hold the baby first. I was to cut the cord. So I was going to – we were going to be there very involved, which is what we wanted. But she called Jamie last night and she was bawling, crying. I mean she's 19 years old and she goes, I can't do it. I can't do it. I can't. I'm too attached. What did Jamie say? She couldn't talk. I called you first. And Mike and I was talking to Mike about it. And, you know, he was like, what, what, what, what? You know, and I was the same way. And I was trying to keep my composure. As we were talking, Jamie was talking to Chelsea. Yes. They were still on the phone. And I knew, you know, because I know. And I said, well, I'll call you back.
My mom called, and Jamie tried to talk to my mom, and we were in the hallway, and I'll never forget it until the day I die. Jamie was trying to talk to my mom, and she just collapsed on the floor. And she handed me the phone, and I go, Mom, I've got to call you back. I've got to call you back. And I laid down on the floor with her, and I just held her, and she was inconsolable and crying out of control. And she – you know, guys, I mean we've – It's no secret that my wife has just been through the ringer. She has been through the ringer. She lost both of her parents within 60 days of each other. We can't get pregnant the old-fashioned way. And this is our reality. Adopting a kid has always been our reality. And it's one of the things that Jamie says she loves about me the most is that I never cared. I never cared that she couldn't. have a baby that way I don't I never have but um I that girl last night I mean I had to pick her up off the ground I had to scrape her off the ground and I'm tired of doing that you know I'm tired of doing that that girl deserves a break and um you know we've been through so much together and uh we are so strong um and she is so strong but she's getting weak
You can only chip away at that wall for so long until you're vulnerable and your nerves are exposed. And she's just been put through the wringer. I mean, that girl's a cancer survivor. She's been through chemotherapy. I mean, she's done stuff before the age of 40 that people go their whole lives and they don't have to deal with. And we've been through those things in our marriage. And now this to happen. It's the worst. It's the worst. And being a week out is very tough. I mean, I had booked a hotel room. When I talked to you on Saturday, you said, hey, man, show ends on Friday. We're getting in a car and we're driving to Colorado. Correct. And I told Mikey, I said, you're going to be Uncle Mikey as a Sunday. And that's hard, man. We don't know what to do. I'm flabbergasted that this happened. Jamie gave me a stat last night that blew me away. She said this actually happens 46% of the time. Did you see that coming? Not until about two weeks ago. Actually, no, not until about a week ago. I started getting – and we have –
With our birth – our former birth mother, we have this relationship of like it was great. When we met him and I talked about it on the air, we were like family and we had these long conversations and we texted all the time. She and I and Jamie and I separately. I texted with her mother like – and it was always we love you. We love you. We're so excited. And at the end of the day, she couldn't pull the trigger and give up her baby. And I understand that and I forgive her because I have to. I have to do that. But I do understand. I mean, I can't imagine doing that. We're trying so hard to get a baby. I can't imagine somebody giving one up. And we just have the utmost respect for her and what she's having to go through as well. But the timing is just really tough. I'm okay. I'm okay. I'm good. I'm going to make it. Jamie is the one that I'm worried about.
She was put on this earth to be a mom, and she's so good with kids and so good with our dogs. She's a maternal – me. I'm a big, fat kid, and she knows. She knows how to be maternal, and she'll be a dynamite mother, and she will be a mother. She said something to me last night that literally could feel my heart hurt. She said – she goes, you know, maybe I just wasn't meant to be a mom. The example that she had in her mom who passed away and after the example that she has been in our home, it's ridiculous. But you've got five dogs. You're doing some mothering, and you're taking care of things. You've got me as a husband. You're taking care of some stuff. That woman, my wife, Jamie, will be a mother if it kills me or breaks me. And it's not going to be to another puppy. It's going to be a baby. We are going to find a baby, and we're going to just do it the right way. We're going to do it differently. We both have really big hearts and we are both very good people, I think. And I think that – I don't think we got duped per se, but it happens. It happens in the process. I have a question, man. If there's anybody listening that is going to go through this same process, having been through it, is there anything that you can offer them? Like, hey, know this. Right.
You know, it's a crazy process. And, you know, hey, listen, they're going to dig into your past. And, you know, I have a past. I was kind of a wild man back in the day. And, you know, I can't worry about the things that I've done in the past. They're going to dig into that and they're going to look into that stuff. And, you know, I will tell you that the agencies are generally, you know, pretty good people and they want to help. They are going to look out for the best interest of the child. And this has nothing to do with our scenario. Chelsea was going to take this baby at some point. If it wasn't last night, it would have been in two months. It would have been in a week. It would have been at the hospital she could have changed her mind. And we know she would have. And I'll tell you why. I started getting texts from her Thursday and Friday.
of last week, and they said things like, well, I'm planning on breastfeeding him. And immediately, you know, the brakes, you slam on the brakes, and you're like, excuse me? You can't breastfeed a child. You're going to get attached, period. Mike and I had a conversation about this, because there was even going to be a time where we were going to have an open adoption, and we were going to have she and her family to our home, and they were going to stay in our home. And, you know, Mikey was like, listen, man, I've got three kids. Rebecca knows a lot about this stuff. I'm telling you, man, if she's in the home and that little baby starts crying, any mother is going to feel that and she's going to be attacked. How's she going to sit in a room that she's staying in while her biological child is crying? Bad idea. Essentially, strangers are taking care of the child. Great point. It's one of those things where you're like,
Okay, point taken, but everybody's adoption journey is different. And I can tell you what we're not going to do next time. I can't let this happen again. My wife will not recover. She will not recover. Not maybe, she won't. The next time, I'm going to do things a lot differently. And I'm going to treat it more as a business decision. This may sound harsh or crass or whatever, but I have to look at this like I would be buying a home or a car because this feeling that I have and the feeling that my wife has right now is not going to happen again. It's just not. I will die. Before that happens. I don't think you sound crass. I don't think you sound harsh. I think you sound like the voice of experience. Yeah. Yeah. And I learned a lot about myself in the last two weeks. You know, we had some obstacles in the in the in the process. And you guys knew, you know, know about them. And, you know, I talked about just some of the red tape that's involved in really in the state of Colorado. It's really bad. I mean, it's tough to get a baby out of there. And I realized something about myself that.
I don't think I'm going to be a good dad. I know I'm going to be a good dad because of the way that I fought for this child. And I don't even know this child. And I love this child. And we were a week away. And Jamie is one of the strongest people I've ever met. You would have to be to go through what she's gone through before the age of 40. But it's wearing on her. And she is. a wreck when i say a wreck you know you guys know me i use humor to lighten the mood and i was trying man and that's my thing and like my thing i went into instant protector mode and i just held her you know and held her and just covered her you know and that's what i told her i'm gonna pick you up and i told her you get up right now and stand up with me and walk She was on the ground sobbing uncontrollably. And I said, you get up right now. We got to move on. We have to move on. And easier said than done. But that's my job as a husband is to be the rock for her. And I'm just really brokenhearted for her, man. She's been through – gosh, she's been put through the ringer as a – that little girl has been put through the ringer. And it's just really sad because there's a lot of feelings I feel. And I feel –
The feeling I feel most is kind of a jerk. I feel like a jerk and I feel like I'm embarrassed. I'm really, really embarrassed. Why? We had a baby shower and we talked about it because I was so excited about it. I'm just embarrassed that it's not going to happen. And it's embarrassing to me that... You know, I feel like I look like a big D head. No, not at all. You had nothing to do with Chelsea. Exactly. Chelsea did what Chelsea did. Right. She decided to keep that kid. And, you know, you were being a good parent, a good parent, which you are going to be. And you were planning for that baby. Yeah. You know, and I want you to think about it like this. And I said this to you last night and maybe this makes sense now. Maybe it doesn't. But at some point, I think it makes all the sense in the world. You're right. You're going to be a dad. You're going to have a kid. And when that son or daughter is 12 years old and you're celebrating his or her birthday, you're going to thank God for him or her. And you would have never had him or her in your life had this not happened. And that is a reality. That's a truth.
And this has made you extraordinarily strong in a way that you would not have been this strong. Right. Had this not happened exactly the way it happened. You've been refined. You've been refined. Right. Yeah. And, you know, I told Jamie last night and I said, hey, I'll tell you what. I said, you know, I know Jamie and I are we have strong. We have very strong faith. And I think my faith. has never been stronger. And I know that there's a plan for us. I know that it includes children. I know that it does. Whatever has to be done will be done. And I know that there's a plan for us. And I just really leaned on my faith last night. And I just said, hey, it's your call. It's not my call. It's your call. And that is going to get me through. I don't know what's going to get.
her through hopefully that as well and hopefully me being strong in my faith is going to get her get her back to where i need her and back to where she needs to be um but you know i wanted to go talk to somebody uh i'm sending her home this weekend against her wishes because i know she needs her good good girlfriends that she has at home she has really good friends here and and friends have been amazing But the girls that she has this bond with at home can really lift her up and be there for her. I mourn and grieve in a different way. I have all this stuff that I have to do. I have responsibilities that I want to do, like my Little League team. I want to do that. That's important to me. Carrying on with my normal life and coming in here and cracking jokes and being a funny guy and hanging with you guys, that stuff is what... moves me and that's what keeps me. You guys in this room are the ones that keep me grounded and keep me focused and I have fun here. This for me is the greatest outlet in the world. I'm going to be okay. Pray for my wife. She's really not having an easy time and I love her so much and I wish that she would catch a break soon because
It's just not fair. It's just not fair. I mean you go around to the hospitals and today you could go to any hospital in this city and you're going to find a parent, a guy in there or a woman that doesn't deserve to be a mom or a dad. You just are. That's just a fact. They probably do things they shouldn't do. They're probably not patient. They probably don't really care. It was an accident, this and that. We are good people and we will be phenomenal parents, period. If it kills me or breaks me, we're going to have a baby because it's going to complete our family. You chose this song from Joseph Arthur called In the Sun. Why this song? When you hear it, you'll know. It's just always been a really special song for Jamie and I. And I play it on the guitar tour and sing it to her all the time. And it's one of our favorites.
And falling down on your knees. Asking for sympathy. And being caught in between. All you wish for and all you see. And trying to find anything. You can feel. That you can be. Make a. If I could. See your eyes. Cause when you showed me myself, you know I became someone else But I was caught in between All you wish for and all you need I picture you fast asleep A nightmare comes You can't keep away Make eyes happy with you
It's been a very real and a very emotional morning and a very real emotional morning. If you're just tuning in, we're talking about how... Woods and his wife Jamie were planning on adopting a baby boy. And the birth was scheduled for this weekend, Sunday. And birth mom informed them last night that she's decided to keep the baby. This is a tough thing, man. And, you know, Woods has been a rock. And, you know, he's been really good.
which has been really good for Jamie, his wife. He's asking for prayers for her because she's, understandably, she's pretty devastated by it. And, you know, getting a lot of support on our Facebook page from listeners that are just calling or, excuse me, writing in and saying, hang in there, bro. And there are people that are just outpouring of love. So 570-1949 is our number. And if you want to text us, it's 949mikey at gmail.com. You know, you do a show like we do, and you may have a plan in place of what we're going to do today, but sometimes things just take over. This is one of those times where this is bigger than anything else. I mean, you're our friend, and it's bigger than anything else. one of those things that sort of is it's appropriate for us to be talking about um so if anybody wants to uh offer support 570-1949-949mikey at gmail.com um and i gotta hand it to woods for the way you've handled it and uh i've said man i'm just i've been so proud of you because i know the old woods oh yeah and i've just been so proud of the way that you've handled yourself
And the way that you've been through this. You know, I've watched, even in the last year, I've watched a guy become a man. Just a real, real man. Yeah, you know, I got off to a rough start in San Diego. And, you know, I thank God every day that that happened to me. You know, and getting in a little bit of trouble when I moved here. I needed that because it is something that has really, you know, and I've, hey, I've slipped and fallen since, you know. I don't stay down anymore, you know, and I used to stay down. And I, you know, I committed myself to just being a better dude, just being a better guy and being a better Christian guy and being a better father and being a better husband and being a better friend. And, you know, I'm taking a lot of steps in my life to do that. And, you know, again, it's important for me to know that my mother, that my...
My wife's mother is watching me and saying, hey, be there. Step up. Be that blanket for her. And I'm kind of a big P sometimes, but I'm also a pretty tough guy when the chips are stacked against me. I've been through a lot. A lot of it is – that's the thing that really hurts me the most is anything that's ever happened to me. I've had a pretty amazing life. I mean I've been – blessed with this job i've been blessed with this new family here and i've been blessed with the all the friends i've made and how really nice everybody has been to me since i moved here and i feel well very well liked you know by the people that i meet um people come up to me all the time and they're like dude so great to meet you man and and you you really helped me in my mornings and whatever and uh we all you know we all get that stuff but um anything that's ever happened to me in my life has been because of me Okay. I'm the one that's gotten myself in a lot of trouble. Nobody else, you know, put a bottle to my lips and made me drive a car. You know, I mean, any trouble I've ever been in, I've caused myself. My wife has never done anything to warrant the stuff that happens to her. And I ask myself, you know, over and over and it keeps me up at night. Why? You know, why, why, why, why, why, why her?
I don't know, you know, and I know people that have struggles in their lives and, you know, and it really helps keep things in perspective for me. You know, the thing that Jay did last night with Spencer, the little boy that, you know, broke his spinal cord in a snowboarding accident. You know, I ran into his mother Saturday at Costco and I talked to her and I looked at her spirit. and the way that she was about her son, you know, that is struggling to walk, you know, and to move. And it puts it in perspective. Our friends Dom and Amy have a little girl, Angelina, that has really, she's gotten into my heart a lot. And I just have become really close and love that family so much, the Repettis. And I think about what they're going through, and I'm like, we're going to be just fine. Their daughter has cancer. She's a little over a year old. And good friends of ours, neighbors. Yeah. And, yeah, it does. You know, it helps me. It helps keep things in perspective for me. Your dad's on the line, Woods. M1 Hawk. Hey, buddy, how are you? You know, I'm out of Steven. I'm taking care of Jamie. I wish, and I know it maybe sounds creepy, but if I could have ever had a daughter, I wish it could have Brent's wife tested it.
They're just, you know, Stephen sometimes makes light of some of the issues that befallen him. But as a dad, we've always been able to fix it. And it tears me up. And like he said, he's being the rock, which is I couldn't be more proud of anyone for anything. And it's, you know, Mikey, I commend you because I think Stephen's faith has grown a thousandfold in the last year. I got an email from your son, Woods, yesterday. I was at the gas station. And I just had tears pouring over my eyes reading this email from Woods yesterday. That I was like, this is a new man. And a man. He wrote me this email where he said that he was just taking accountability for his life. And he wasn't blaming anybody.
He was taking onus for it. He was taking accountability for it. And I've known him for years, man. I've known him for over a decade. And I just wrote him back and I said, dude, I'm just so proud of you. And, you know, sometimes people wonder why, you know, in the midst of things like this. They wonder why. And I truly believe that these situations make us stronger. You know, last year. I went through the hardest year of my life personally. And we have had all sorts of things in my family that have been really tough from my mom's Alzheimer's to my dad's possibility. My dad's cancer coming back right now. My son's autism. You know, we've had bumps in the road. And I think that these things, you know, when they happen, there's two directions that you can go. One direction that you can go. is to sort of feel sorry for yourself and say, why me? And the other direction that you can go is to say, I'm going to allow this to refine me and I'm going to become stronger. And I've seen that in your son. And I just, I look at Woods and I'm just so, I'm actually, you know, as weird as it is, like he said.
Without these things, he wouldn't be this guy. I mean, he's changed. He's changed a lot. And, you know, I really can't, I can't take credit for any of it. God has changed your son, man. He's really changed your son. And he's becoming a man, a real strong man. Well, my mom always used to, you know, you're never given more than you can handle. And you wonder, you're like, really, is this, I can handle all of this? of the way that he stepped up. Me too. And I'll use your baseball analogy, Stephen. He stepped up to the plate big time. And he's got a heart the size of Texas. And my dad always thought so. Our whole family thinks so. We love him to death. Yeah. And Jamie as well, obviously. Hey, thank you. We love you. Thanks for calling. Love you, Dad. Thank you, guys. Stephen, love you. M1 Veronica from Escondido. Hi, guys. Hi. Okay.
So you guys know I'm a birth mom and everything. And first off, Stephen, I love you guys. We love you. If you guys need anything, you let me know. Sure. We know that. So my son's parents, they went to the same exact thing. And they were two days out. They had met the son. They had met everything. They had everything. And that child's biological uncle stepped into the picture and took the child away. I mean, they had met the child because they went through San Diego County. Sure. And so the baby was being fostered, everything like that. They had met the baby. They had grown attached to the baby. And a couple days before they were supposed to receive him, Uncle steps into the picture. Yeah, it's brutal. It's a brutal process. You know, they had everything. And then three months later, I'm in the picture, you know. So God's not saying no. He's saying not now. Yeah, and, you know, that's one of the things I told Jamie, too, is I said, listen, babe, I said, so if we're going to really walk through this process together, let me just tell you that the chances, just seeing how attached she had been. Now, she had also said, our birth mother had also said things like, well, you know, we want to take him home for a little bit, you know, love on him and this and that.
When you're this close, right, when you're this close to getting what you want, you're like, okay, whatever you guys want. I mean, whatever's best for the, you know, you try to play that card of, well, whatever's best for the baby. But, yeah, you want to, what's the word? Accommodate. Accommodate, placate a little bit. Okay, you know, the breastfeeding thing, we're not really sold on it. We'll buy the donor milk, whatever. We're just afraid you're going to get too attached. When you are that close to getting. In what we consider the final piece of our family puzzle, you will do anything. As you guys know, there was a plan in place last week to actually try to get her here because of some of the red tape in Colorado. When I look back now, I feel like an idiot because I literally had plane tickets bought, an RV rented. I had an attorney retained. I've retained four attorneys in the last two weeks. I mean, we're broke. I'm like, we keep throwing – I can't even put a price on what I've spent, but it doesn't matter. I'd pay $500,000 for this kid if I had to. But you get to that point where you're like, okay, well, let's try this. You get a roadblock, you knock it down, and you try to get another option. Every day for the last two weeks, there were roadblocks.
I just kept barreling through them. I was like a fullback. I was plowing through these roadblocks and coming up with different solutions. And what I told Jamie was, listen, we want a baby and we want it to be ours. And if that sounds selfish or whatever, so be it. We want a baby and we want it to be ours and ours only. And especially after this situation. And we're devastated and we're heartbroken, but I'm going to figure it out. I'm going to figure it out. Yeah. M1, and thank you, Veronica. We appreciate your call. Love you guys. Love you. M1 Trestles from San Clemente. Hey, buddy. I just wanted to say, man, much love to Woodsy. Much love. We just had, me and my wife just had a baby about five months ago. He's about the same age as Sage. Teared. Yeah. I just started tearing up right there when you started talking with me. I'm just right there with you, brother. Thank you, man. Much love goes out to you and Spencer, man, and all of you guys. We love you guys so much, and we're with you.
Thank you, brother. Thank you, man. Yeah, it's been really incredible how our listeners are our family. Yes. They love you so much, and we love you so much. I've gotten, you know, I've gotten, I had to make some calls last night and tell some friends, you know, hey, it's not going to happen right now. And, you know, we're going to be okay. You know, pray for us. Like I said, I'll throw this out there right now. I mean if there's anybody that has a solution or I guess you would call it a lead or a better way, advice, send me a private message. Put your phone number on there. I'll call you. I am going to take the week off of doing this stuff. I want to get Jamie home to Dallas. I want to – I'm trying to – I want to – Think about maybe flying a couple of my good buddies in and just spending some time with some of my friends from home. And, you know, Kevin, I know you're listening. I'd love to have you out here this weekend and just hang out, man, show you the town. And I want to get Jamie with her good, good girlfriends. And they're just so they're awesome. I wrote them all last night and said, hey, she needs you. And they, of course, get her here. Done. You know, and she needs that from those girls back there.
Baby, I know you're listening, and I love you, and we're going to be okay. We're going to be just fine. All right, we will switch things up here a little bit. A guy had to be removed from real time with Bill Maher because he stood up in the middle of the taping, and he started yelling at Bill Maher. And the other voice that you're going to hear in the clip is Kevin Smith, the dude that directed clerks. And so we will do that. We'll take your phone calls, too, 570-1949. Emotional morning here on The Mikey Show. You know what I wanted to play for you guys? Does anybody... Sienna, do you watch American Idol? Yeah, sometimes. You do, right, Jay? I watch American Idol. I have. I haven't been watching much this season, honestly. I usually like the beginning when everybody messes up. Yeah, the bad auditions? Yeah, they're past that now. Because my wife watches it. By your wife, you mean you. Technically, that means I watch it.
It was last week. I wanted to play some audio because there was this guy that played a stand-up bass. And it was actually pretty good, especially for somebody playing a stand-up bass. And I wanted to see what you guys thought of it. And then I saw the guy. And I guess seeing people sometimes makes it even better. Is he good looking? He was white. And that kind of surprised me because he didn't sound like a white guy. He sounded like a black guy. But it was really good. And so anyway, I'm going to find that and I'm going to play it for you. Here we go. That actually is a black guy.
Now, that was Randy Jackson like, I didn't think this was going to be any good. Steven Tyler was looking at him like, holy cow. Wow. He got a standing ovation when he was done by the rest of the contestants. That's awesome. That's Steven Tyler joining in. He's doing scales on your stand-up bass real good. So he played the stand-up bass as well? Yeah. Wow. Yeah. I mean, he's competing against these people. They stood up, and they were like, holy crap, that was pretty good. Yeah, it's pretty right. It's different. It's fresh. I mean, I was like, I heard it, the clip, before, and I was like, man, that's pretty good. And then I saw it, and he looked like a, just, he's got a big beard and mustache. Like, you would never think that that sound would come out of this guy. Well, that's, you know, hate American Idol or don't, but you hear something like that, and...
Man, that's from American Idol only do they find people like that. And the reason that this guy would never, ever be discovered is because when you look at him, you go, oh, yeah, you don't look like a star. You'd never give him a chance. You would never give him a chance because you don't look like a star. Now, you open your mouth, though, and you sing. Unique ability. Yeah, I mean, that's what I said. These are the people that have already made it to Hollywood. That's why I said Randy Jackson kind of goes, oh, oh, boy. Where'd you come from? It's all good, baby. Other arms may reach out to me. Other eyes smile tenderly. Isolate. Isolate. Isolate really. What's he sniggling at? He's sniggling like, holy cow, you got me. You got me. Steven Tyler's like, holy cow. This is your son, Jake, one of his favorite songs these days. He loves this song. Oh, wait. Does he like Midnight Train? I think he likes Midnight Train. He likes this, too. He does. Yeah. He's a cutie. Chances Jake has a stand-up bass in his room by the time you get to work today. Great. Just real small. It's like a violin. I saw an electric one last night at the belly. Yeah. Cool looking. Electric stand-up bass? Yeah, it's like on a big...
pole, and then it looks just like a regular bass up top. But it's a little bitty. It just sits on a pole. I'll bet that that particular instrument doesn't get a lot of work out. The electric stand-up bass? How many times a day do you think Guitar Center gets a call, hey listen, do you guys have a good stand-up electric bass? Just like a bass guitar that you can lean against the wall? No, no, no. old-fashioned orchestral stand-up bass, but I need to plug it into an amp. Yeah, that's not going to happen. Can you order one for me? No. Can you special order one for me? Nope. Okay. Yeah, I bet they don't get a lot of electric stand-up bass calls. Probably not. All right, so I told you Bill Maher got interrupted while he was taping a show by some dude that came in and started yelling at him. in the middle of the taping and then got escorted out by security. Listen to this. I want them to have democracy. I'm just saying it's not going to happen unless you get right with your attitudes about women. That has to come with this or it's never going to happen. Dad, shut up! It's Kevin Smith. Dad, shut up. Does this happen for you? That went better in rehearsal, I gotta say.
Look at what happens when you and Tavis squabble. I don't know. Has that ever happened? Oh, yes. I once had to go into that crowd and throw a guy out myself. And I think I might have to do it again. It sounds like a prepared speech. That's all I'm saying. He's still going. An ad lib would have been a little more impressive. That was such a real time. Yeah. Who's that guy, by the way? Who is that guy? Who's yell in the middle of... TV show guy. You have to be so passionate about something. Yes! Gee, I'm not that passionate in anything. No. The Yankees. That's like me going to a Red Sox game and screaming at them. But you would never do that. No! Of course you wouldn't. I'm so sorry. Of course you wouldn't because you don't know the first thing about Hellfire missiles that are being fired in the Middle East, do you? Actually, no. No, a little bit better.
Now, do you really? I do the news on it sometimes. What do you know about One Tree Hill? I bet you know about One Tree Hill, don't you? I do know about One Tree Hill. L-O-B, I bet you know all about B-E-T, but what do you know about Hellfire Missiles? I wish I knew more. New Woods, you could tell me the starting lineup for the Yankees, but you don't know a thing. Easily. About Hellfire Missiles, do you? No, I've never been close to a word. Quote a few scriptures for me, Mikey. Is that what you're going to do? Jay, I'm sure you could tell me about Penthouse Forum, can't you? Anything you need to know. What do you know about Hellfire Methodist? Why are you so serious? I'm serious because some people really have something to say. It takes guts to do what that man did. What do you know about Hellfire Methodist? I know that they were produced en masse during the last administration, of course, because it was a conservative administration that spent more money on defense than they had ever spent. on social, socio-economical issues. Way to go, LB. Just open a whole can of worms. I guess so. But what do I know? I guess you know more than us. Something tells me you may be joining us later when we play a clip from the new Radiohead album. First of all, Radiohead.
You're not worthy of letting them leave your lips. I just said Radiohead. Don't say it again. Don't. Radiohead. Say it again. Radiohead. Are you referring to Lotus Flower? Yes, I'm referring to Lotus Flower. Stop the music, Hispanic. I thought you were playing the piano. I was. This. This is Radiohead Lotus Flower. Do you like this? I have a theory. You don't love it. I do love it. You don't. I do love it. It's not humanly possible to love this. Recorded in D minor. How ironic. You wouldn't get that. Well, I stopped listening to Radiohead after Kid A. Of course you did, Fabian. Well, I know, but this is almost unlistenable. You also choose snuff. This is almost unlistenable. This is brilliant in its progression.
I guess not. What's the irony of that last chord exactly? You got me. In their days of playing Largo in West Los Angeles. I'm sure. Oh, wow. You were a headhead before they were mainstream. And Phil has played a given. This is their new single, but the rest, and it's okay. I'm going to give it an okay, but the rest of the album is almost unlistable. Is it okay, radio? Okay. Okay, computer. Always okay, radio. That's true. You don't like this. Do you understand that, Fabian? It's perfect. It's not. It's perfect. They're being weird just to be weird. Yes, they are. And people that say that they like this are trying to just be weird. Are you trying to showcase your ignorance? Because if you are, you're doing the perfect job. You're getting that piano.
I can't wait for you to go to commercials so that people can see what Mikey picked to play as his music to go out to this commercial break. Go ahead. Play it. Of course! Oh, so fitting! Calm down. It's a classic. Is it a classic? It's a classic. Yeah, it is. I would say it's a classic. Ice Ice Baby. Oh, yeah. My husband did a little break dancing to this song at our wedding. I know every word to this song. Your husband broke dancing? He did some break dancing at our wedding after a few beverages.
to this song. Wow. That's great. He did great. He did really good. I bet he had so many of those beverages, he was almost legally dead. My sister in high school was like, do it, Todd, do it! Oh, wow. Oh, yeah. Pop them on, pop them on. Welcome back. Sienna, what's going on in news? Protests, protests, and more protests. The... I mean, this one's really crazy. In Libya right now, protesters are protesting for the same reason as Egypt and Tunisia, to have their ruler of 42 years taken out. And today, the son of the leader, who is Moammar Gaddafi, his son spoke out and basically just warned of a civil war if citizens decide to keep with these protests. Now they're like, oh, well, you've got what they wanted. That's what we'll do.
So that's what's going on in Libya, and 233 people have been killed over there. This is awful. Also here in America, there are thousands of teachers, nurses, firefighters, and a bunch of other public workers camped out at the Wisconsin Capitol protesting the Republican Governor Scott Walker's efforts to reduce their take-home pay. So they're there doing that. A lot of the big schools in Madison have been closed down. You know, teachers are protesting. You know, just lots of protests right now. It's sad. And also just another quick thing. Scientists are saying that the planet could be unrecognizable by 2050. And it's because the population is growing so quickly. Apparently, population will reach 7 billion this year. And they're saying it's going to climb to 9 billion by 2050. And just to feed all those mouths, we would need to produce as much food in the next 40 years as we have been producing in the last 8,000. Okay. Yeah. I'm not worried. Me neither. I tried not to be. We'll be dead and gone. Well, yeah. I mean, that's part of the reason that I'm not worried. Because we die. 39 years away. Yeah. Hopefully we'll be alive. It won't be anywhere near here. You know that. What? Yeah, we lose people, we get people. We lose people, we get people. That's the way it works. It's a cycle. I'm here. Woodsy, what's going on in sports? Well, they met, they being the NFL Players Association and the...
Gosh, my brain is elsewhere today. The Players Association and the owners. And they were talking about, obviously, the collective bargaining agreement and what they're going to do to get that thing done. They met for 20 hours over the last three days, and they are not commenting on how things went, but people are happy that they're at least meeting. They're in mediation right now, which is great. So people are still saying there will be a lockout, even though all this stuff is going down. They are saying there will be a lockout. If I were a mediator, I would go, I have an idea. Keep things the same. Let's just do that. And then we don't have to gripe. We just keep things the same. Well, you know, there's a couple of things that the Players Association are really fighting for, and that's player safety. It was none more evident than what happened this weekend. Dave Dewarson, who is a four-time Pro Bowler, played for Notre Dame and also played for the Chicago Bears 85 Super Bowl team, also played for the 1990 Giants. He won two Super Bowls, was a great, great defensive back, committed suicide, and also donated his brain to research because he was afraid that he had traumatic encephalopathy.
Encephalopathy. Oh, well. Encephalopathy. And it's because of concussions in the NFL. So they are now going to be examining his brain. Guy killed himself. Oh, my. You know, was worried about this. So player safety, I mean, it couldn't come at a better time for the players' union. One of their own took his own life. You guys ever found anything weird in your food? Now, what I'm talking is, have you ever ordered something, comes to you, and you're like, oh, boy. Or have you ever opened a bag of something or a jar of something or a can of something and found something weird? 5701949. I've told the story of my grandmother finding a thumb, the tip of a thumb, in a can of tomato paste. Now that is bad. Yeah. You could, you know, if that happened today, she'd be a rich woman. Oh, yeah. Right. Should we eat tomato paste again? No. I don't think I would. I don't know if I could. Was it tomato paste or was it enchilada sauce? Old El Paso. Okay. If we're being honest, probably enchilada sauce. Absolutely. You just call it sauce. We just call it sauce. Right. I found this is absolutely repulsive and you may vomit in your mouth when you hear this. I was eating a tuna sandwich and I found a skull.
What? And I don't know what- A skull? A little skull. Of a human being? A little tiny shrunken head? No. It was some sort of skull. Fish head? I don't know. It wasn't a fish head. It was a skull. Like a little bug? A rat? That doesn't bug. Possibly a mouse. What were you eating? It was a tuna fish. Oh! Was it a fully- Yes. Eye holes. Full skull. What did you do with the skull? It was little. It was like a little mouse skull. Told you, told you, told you, told you, told you. Maybe it was a fish head. It wasn't a fish head. It was a skull. It had eyes. It was not a fish head. It was a mouse skull. I'm fully convinced. I bit into it. I was 13 at the time. You tell your mom? I used to love tuna fish sandwiches. And I remember taking it out of my mouth, almost vomiting, rinsing it off and looking at it. And it was a little skull. Wow. It was a mouse skull, I think. Oh my gosh. I wish I never knew that. Me too. That one left a mark. That one left a mark. I told you it was going to get you, dude. That one got me good. I don't know if I'll be able to eat tuna without thinking of mouse skull. This has been my bit with tuna since that very day.
Connecticut spring morning when I had a tuna fish sandwich, I will not eat tuna anywhere other than if I make it with my own hands. I have to open the can. Didn't you do that then? I did, but now I go through. When I'm mixing it up, I'm constantly looking. I never eat tuna. If I go to Subway, I don't get a tuna sandwich. If I go anywhere, I don't get a tuna sandwich. I'll give you credit for even going there again. Yeah. And it's rare. I'm talking twice a year maybe. Oh, wow. And that's even declining. Yeah, it got me. Oh, wow. So disgusted right now. Why do I... I'm both repulsed yet titillated. Yeah. It's like... It's not bad enough it was a mouse, but it was a dead mouse. So what kind of stuff is going on where they're making the tuna? It's not only a mouse, but a long dead. Have they ever cleaned the place? I've probably eaten a can from the same factory. Let me tell you how bad that story is. It's almost urban legend-y.
That's almost legendary. It is legendary. I've heard a lot of them. What you just said, that's king biscuit. Yeah, you know, if I did that now, I'd be retired. Oh, yeah, I'd check into a loony bin. I'd check into a loony bin. I'd retire, yeah. On the money that you made. But, you know, it was very traumatizing. M1, Brad from San Diego. Brad, go ahead. I got that. The worst thing you can get on Halloween, and that was the needle in my chocolate bar. What? My gosh. Probably a kid. Like what parents say to be careful for? I was going right through with my mom. We were looking through the candy, you know, looking for needles and stuff, and I was messing around and bit into one, and sure enough, that thing stuck into the back of my throat. Oh, wow. Ow! Oh my gosh. Did you guys call the police? You call the police? I went to so many houses, I didn't even know what to do. I'd call the police. If that happened to me or my kid, I'd call the police. Did you ever go trick-or-treating again?
I mean, you could go back to each house. The police could do it. That's bad. Every house, though? Yeah. Think about how many houses he went to. I used to go to a lot, but you remember which house or which area you get what candy. Dude, I would think that's a big enough crime that you're fingerprinting the paper wrapper. Seriously. That's true. Some psycho did that? Putting needles. Was it like a stick needle? Oh, my gosh. Like a straight pin? Probably like a straight pin. Oh, my God. That one fritz from downtown? How are you guys doing? Good. Yeah, when I was first dating my wife's girlfriend at the time, I went to her mom's house, and she made me a bowl of cereal in a coffee cup, and she handed it to me, and I went to go, you know, take my first scoop out, and I looked in the bowl, and, like, one of those black sewer cockroaches was, like, climbing out, like, after me. First dating my wife, like, right at the very beginning. Mike, Woods, and Lauren all shot back from the microphone at the same time. Traumatized. That man just traumatized me. Just traumatized me. Those little legs coming out of that coffee mug. Antenna. Antenna. Little antenna twitching back and forth as it crawled with its various legs. And then as you look into that little bowl of cereal, the cockroach.
Spreads its wings. How dare you. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. I thought my mom's was bad. She had a baked cockroach. I think I told this in the air before. It's better if it's broiled. No, we went to Ponderosa, and she cut open her baked potato and said, we're leaving. And she gathered all of us up. We were like, what? What? And she's like, we're leaving. And she didn't tell us for a little while, but we never went to Ponderosa again. She had a... Cockroach in the middle of her bed. Oh, gosh. I had a cockroach in my burger. Part of it was missing. Just a little part of it was missing. You'd eaten it. We got it for free. Weird. Got another burger. You'd eaten it, hadn't you? You'd eaten some of it. I ate it a little bit. He got another one. We didn't leave. People made mistakes. He got another one. You got another one. I got another one. I ain't going to go in the restaurant and order a meal and not finish it. They comped it. I take my rubber cockroach and I just put my rubber cockroach in there and go, hey, found a cockroach. Give me another hamburger. Every time. Sounds pretty good. Our phone screener, Chris, said that he found a black curly hair in his milkshake. What other way do you find it in a milkshake besides sucking it up through the straw?
Oh, my. He's so lucky he didn't swallow it. It's definitely going to be easy to swallow. Unless he was maybe eating it with a spoon. And all of a sudden you go. Oh, my God. Oh, come on. It's happened to everyone. And you grab it with your finger. And you go, is there something on my head? And you grab it and you pull. It's not a beard hair, is it? Sure is it. I don't think it is, no. It's very short. It's very coarse. It's very coarse. Very thick. Did it come from an underarm? Probably not, though. It's a little short for an underarm. It has a root. It's a little short. How'd you make that malt? Oh, my God. I'm going to vomit. Oh, it smells like carrots. Shut up.
You brought it up, Mike. You brought it up. I'm both repulsed and titillated by me. I'm not at all titillated. I'm disgusted. Jagging. I want to hear it. I'm never going to have to shave or wax again. Lord hates when he plays that. Lauren's face just drops. M1s are now requesting for an LLB sound word for all of those. I hate it. She hates it. It's your voice. Something wrong with the mic. M1 Jeff is on the line from Santee. You there? This is going to be bad. I can feel it. It's going to be bad. Are you there, Jeff? Yeah. What happened? I left a called Tupperware thing, a food at my school. And overnight, I went back the next day and I opened it up and there was stuff moving inside of it. Oh, maggots, maggots, maggots, maggots. It didn't look like maggots, so it just looked like moving food. There's nothing worse than maggots. No. They're so disgusting. No, they're so hideous. They're so hideous.
Moving food, he said. It's like the scene in Poltergeist where the guy takes out the steak and puts it on the counter. And the steak starts to go. I have goosebumps too, but I love it. It hurts. I want to know more. I want more. I want more. I want more. I want more. When I was little, we used to make forts all the time, like clubhouses and stuff. And we would pull from our dad's just piles of wood. And we'd be like, this is a good one. Pick it up. Nuggets all over. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. There's nothing creepier. Like a gorilla. Yeah, that's not going to happen. Reach out and punch yourself in the face. Hey, guys. Don't, Mike. No, I'm telling you. Oh, God, this is it, isn't it? I'm leaving. I'm getting ready to leave. This one's going to be tough. This one may change who you are as a person. I'm getting my can. M1.
Curly from Carlsbad. Oh, gosh. Hi. Hey, Mike. How you doing? Don't ruin my life. He's going to ruin your life. This one is a little bit, I guess maybe ironic. My father finally decided to start eating healthy for the first time in his life, taking care of himself a little while back. Yeah. So one day he was like, hey, let's go get some lunch. We went and got some salads just from like a supermarket. Little Caesar salad. My father opens his salad up and there is blood. L.O.B. just checked out of her body. Woods' mouth just dropped open. He's staring into space. Sienna. Sienna's like, forget this. Forget this job. Forget this life. I get everything that's ever. Sienna is now putting antibacterial on her hands. Just squeezing it. I want to put it in my ears. Are you sure it wasn't tomato juice? That's what I say. It was a Caesar salad. There's no tomatoes.
Oh, my God. How much blood? It was a little, but it was enough. And it was in, like, the corner of, like, the whole thing. Oh, hold on. It was terrible. Oh, God, my stomach. I feel so dirty. Don't ask any more questions. My body went numb. My brain went numb. My stomach is retching. Everything went numb. I can't take it. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. That's the worst. Blood. Stop saying it. Don't say that word. Eat again. Salad blood. Ever cracked an egg and there's blood? No. Oh, God. I've done it. Oh, yeah. I've done it. Me too. That's like a long... Yes. You're making scrambled eggs. I've done it. Did you eat it anyway? I did. Of course I did. That thing cost 14 cents. Don't be wasting an egg. Holy crap. L.O.B. I thought I saw L.O.B. leave her body. I feel like I'm a worse human being now because I know that. Yes. Do you feel like... I feel like...
I'm despicable. Anyone that shakes my hand from now on, I'm like, I'm sorry. Because you know it. I'm weak. I'm weak. Just because you heard it. I can't get enough. I'm not lightheaded. Sandra just keeps squeezing sanitizer under her head. Makes my butt hurt. I think my white blood pill. White blood pill count is lower. It's lower because of what you heard. I feel weak. My body is aching. I feel really weak. Like, I'm looking at these other ones. They're pretty good, but they're, I mean, is anything going to top that? Yeah, don't say that. Top blood in a salad? No, I mean, I don't think anything can. Salad blood. Tonight's 8 o'clock album, salad blood. Garrett. Garrett, don't see that. M1 Harold from San Marcos. I don't probably explain the blood. Oh, no. Oh, God. Oh, please, for the love of God. I won't say the name, but submarine sandwiches. Let's just say that. Okay. There's multiple places. Cut right into her thumb. I can't do this anymore. Come on! I can't. My butt hurts! Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. I feel like I'm about to curse. I'm about to curse and I don't want to. I need to take a shower. I want to curse and I can't. I don't want anymore. I want more. I don't want anymore. Yes, I do. No, I don't. Yes, I do. I don't.
I don't want one. Give me more. Tippy toe. Tippy toe. I don't want to hear about mugs. I don't want to hear about blood. The pain. My eyes are watering. Good thing we just ordered some rolled tacos, you and I, Mike. Why don't you tell me you found some chocolate chips in the food? Yeah. Let's call in with that. A diamond. How come somebody didn't drop strawberries accidentally into some pancake batter? And then accidentally put a smiley face on top of the pancake. And look what I found. Oh, no. You guys, one time I found chocolate sauce on my sundae. I didn't order it that way. One time I got a cupcake and there were these colorful things on the top of it and they said there were rainbow sprinkles. And I didn't order sprinkles. One time I ordered a milkshake and there was angel's breath in there. One time I had a sundae, a hot fudge sundae, and at the bottom there was this... Fudge walnut brownie. I was so surprised. That did happen to me. One time I ordered an omelet and there was puppy kisses. Holy cow. My dad ordered a salad that was blood in it. I think I've been electrocuted. Salad blood. Stop saying that. I don't ever want to hear blood again. I don't want to hear that word. Salad blood. Stop. Tonight's 8 o'clock album. Salad blood. You're it.
Stop it. Oh, my hands hurt. My butt hurt. I'm really mad at you, Mike. My feet are tingly. Hey, Lauren's BFMC, her boyfriend, Matt Commerce, is online. He's got one. Nice. Yeah, that he found. Matt, please make this better. Matt. Hey, guys. What's going on? Not much. One time, I went to a health store, but I got one of their salads that they make, and I bit into it. Oh, God. Oh, God. Did it cut you? Did it cut you? Did it cut you? Did it cut you? Well, it didn't actually cut me, but it did break on my teeth. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Hey, I kissed your mouth. I kissed your mouth. Oh, God. I can just see it breaking on his teeth. Oh, God. Oh, God. Oh, God. And you can sound like this. Oh, my God.
No, it's sharper than that. And you can, like, you hear it in your ears. Give me some glass. I'll try it. Oh, gosh. Did it get all sandy? You know, I spread it out. No. Actually, I was still there, and I brought it back to them, and they gave me a $50 card to eat. They didn't give you another salad? Yeah. I should get another salad, had I? Oh, my gosh. Oh, gosh. How dare you? Like, Matt, do you know what it came from or anything? No, I was, like... I went up and asked them. I was like, you know, there's glass in my sandwich here. And they were like, I have no idea. I don't know where that would have come from. Oh, wow. Oh, my gosh. Thank you, Matt. Yeah, okay. That's BFMC. That's Lauren's boyfriend, Matt Commerce. I found I will find stuff sometimes in my food, but I go into denial. I deal with it denial. I'll keep eating and I'll go into denial. Wow. I'll just go, didn't happen. I'll take a fly out and I'll be like, didn't see it. Yes. Didn't see it. Didn't happen. Didn't see it. Didn't see it. Didn't see it. Didn't happen. I talked myself out of it existing. What if you got a fingernail in your French fries? I take it out. I throw it away. I keep eating. I can do that. I'd be like, I didn't see it. It didn't happen. I didn't see it. It didn't happen. Are you kidding? I eat fingernails.
Somebody else's? Yeah, sure. I'll bite Jamie's fingernails. That would stop me from eating fries. You bite Jamie's fingernails? Yeah, sure. If she cut her fingernails, I'd pick it up to gross her out because she hates fingernails. I'd put it in my mouth. It's my wife. Who cares? I would bite my wife's toenails. It's not a big deal. Oh, what? Would you bite my toenails? That doesn't really gross me out that much. No, I wouldn't bite your toenails. Fingernails are disgusting. They've got the filth of the world underneath them. I bite sages. Yes. But she's a baby. She's a baby. She's a baby. She picks up gross things. She's a baby. She's just a baby. She's just a baby. She's just a baby. Did I start that in the middle of it or not? No, that's it. I'm just really creepily sticking his tongue out and dancing to this. I've seen you make some faces, Woods. It's the creepiest face I've ever seen. What about this one? He licked his index finger. Don't do that. It's the greatest bit of all time. Is there anything that gets you more than that one? That is worse than salad, Woods.
I am so filthified right now. You brought it up. I didn't bring it up. You did. I did. Jay waited. And I'm out there. And I'm not even going to repeat it. But he told me. And I go. You have to repeat it. It's too filthy. It's too filthy. I'll say, listen, don't help me. I'm going to say this. You don't want me to help you? I'm not kidding. Why don't you want me to help you? Because you can't. I'll just sit back and have some of this rolled taco. When Jay was younger, they had a pet dog who went into the garbage and the dog got something out of the garbage. That's all you need to know. There's only a certain things that can go in there. It had to do, okay? People can figure it out. I'll dare you. There could be a lot of stuff in the garbage. Woods. Like old food. It wasn't old food. And we don't have to say anymore. That made me wretch. Coffee tastes like trash. I know. I know. M1 Ryan says, I found a long box staple.
in a taco I ordered at a shop in Encinitas. Big deal, Ryan. I'm sorry. I'm sorry, but what we have just heard... Don't say it again. Blood in a salad. Salad blood. Yeah, I'll have the scab salad. Oh, shit! What if it was... That'll do it. It could have been like some sort of raspberry... Vinaigrette? Vinaigrette, yeah. But we know it. It could have been. In my mind, that's what it was. That had coagulated in the corner of the salad container. It had just gone bad. It was just raspberry vinaigrette. Coagulated blood. Stop singing. Coagulated blood. On tonight's 8 o'clock albums. Garrett. I said, off the air, I go, that would be the scariest horror movie. Like, you know how Jaws kept people out of the water? This movie would keep people from ever eating again if they ever did a movie about all these things that... people have found in their food? Maybe we watch it. I said we'd solve the obesity problem. Would we? I'd be shoveling donuts in as I was watching. Poor bastard. I'm stressed. My new bit, stress eating. It's great. Love excuses. Me too.
Mikey, this text message says, Mikey, one time I worked at a vegan joint. I love it. And a nice two-inch crawler, Hawaiian roach, accidentally crawled into a spring roll and got wrapped up in it. Then when it was cut open, half the roach crawled out through the peanut sauce trying to get away. And scene. Half of it. How's that chicken salad, Sienna? I'm in my happy place right now. She's rocking. You've got, yeah, you're rocking. I mean, it's just, you know, whatever you say I hear.
But I don't. It doesn't soak in. You're like the girl that's finally just gone crazy. Yes. She's a girl interrupted. I'm there. She's back and forth. Sage. Sage. Sage. Sage. Sage. Sage. Sage. My food is fine. My food is fine. Okay. Guys. I'm done. Mike, no. Don't take another one. Please don't take another one. It's going to get you. No. It's going to get you. It's gonna... Please don't. So prepare. Just strap the seatbelt on real tight. Why do you hate me? Don't do this to me. M1 Joe from Lemon Grove. Are you there? Go ahead. Yeah, I'm here. Go ahead. Tell your story. Yeah, I went to a... I want to make sure that we don't say the name of the place, okay? Oh, okay. Okay. So we're not going to say the name of the place, but you went to a sandwich place. A sandwich shop. Sandwich establishment. And what did you find? And look, I'm eating the half that doesn't have it on it. But I'm sitting there eating, and I look down, and there's a Band-Aid sitting right on top. L.O.B. Headphones came off of L.O.B. She shut her eyes, shook her head no. Woods just ripped his shirt open. He's standing up, stomping his feet. Why is he marching? That one didn't get me as bad. That one didn't get you as bad.
I think it's because I've been my happy place. I'm just like... It was a band-aid. A band-aid. A band-aid was in the sandwich. A band-aid. You know what that means? Puss. No! Ooze. Band-aid ooze. You know how the band-aid gets a maroon ring? Oh, my God. Sometimes yellowy. Oh, my God. Because it's already coagulated, so it's turned maroon. It's turned maroon. It's turned maroon. You guys need to get to my place. I can hear it now. I'm not crazy yet. I'm not crazy yet. I'm crazy. I'm officially crazy. Sienna's gone insane. I can sit and eat my chicken salad and just know it's okay. It's okay. You should have seen L.O.B. L.O.B. mentally quit. She mentally was like, this job's not worth it. It's not.
She's got goose bumps. She's got goose bumps. Hair on the end of my arms. Why are there so many people calling? Stop taking the calls. The calls don't stop. You can stop them. Oh, yes. Yes. And when Rick sent us some donuts. Yes. That made it all better. Wait, wait. Is it a trick? If there's something in it, I'm going to freak out. It's not. Rick, you're good. You're a good human soul. You're a good human soul. Oh my gosh, there's still more. Krispy Kreme. This makes life better. You ever so fat that Krispy Kreme donuts make everything better? Every day. You don't care about a band-aid anymore? Tears formed in our eyes. Sweet relief. Oh, my gosh. We went from hell to heaven. This is what a heroin addict feels like when he gets his bag. It's like a heated spoon. You're so fat. You're traumatized by stories about this, but Krispy Kreme makes it better. Oh, my gosh. So much for my diet.
Band-Aid Diet. You can't say Dr. Krispy Kreme. Oh, my God. Oh, he's got different ones in here. Sprinkles. Sprinkles. You guys. You guys. No, I'm serious. This one's a kicker. Don't take this away from me. This is a kicker. Dude, I just scored this, okay? Bring it. I'm going to go behind the gas station. I'm going to do my business with this donut. Sienna believes that she's crazy enough to take anything. I'm in a loopy place right now. I can handle it. This one's going to take a little wind out of your sails. Get to my place, you guys. It's a good place to be. I can't. M1 Sherm from Temecula. Mikey, what's going on? I'll tell you what's going on, Sherm. Craziness is going on. And yours, my friend, yours is a keeper. Mikey, this one's pretty much going to ruin your life because I went to a local taco shop. You're saying this in front of your child. Yes. Daddy, no! Yes. I'm so sorry, but a local taco shop in high school. There might be a few of them around town. I don't want to know names. Okay. I bite into this.
chicken burrito, this delicious chicken burrito. And there was an artery. An artery. L.O.B. took off her headphones. Woods and L.O.B. are walking. They're out. Just like that, they're gone. Sienna is as happy as a clam, just bit into a chocolate donut, and she's like, I'm insane, Mike. It don't matter. I'm crazy. I'm crazy. When I heard blood and salad about 15 minutes ago, it turned me into another person. And so I'm just, you know, I'm okay. Chicken artery got me. Chicken artery. It got me so much that I'm going to need this jelly donut to get through it. Chicken artery. Chicken artery. Lauren became a different person. You are welcome to the club. She's like, you know what? Forget life. This is where you want to be. It's fun. You don't care about things. I feel like.
There's chicken artery in my stomach. I feel like all I ate all day is chicken artery. Oh, my gosh. I just had to get some air. Oh, my gosh. I just had to get some air. All I know is about 40,000 new vegetarians were just made. It's so filthy. My wife just passed out. I came. Real close. That look on your face, LB, looked like you were like blood, like oxygen was drained from your head. I can't take it. It sounded like when he bit into it and probably a little juice squirted out. Great. Stop it. It's all made up. This is all made up. I'm sweating. Oh, my gosh. Everyone's just, ooh, what can I come up with? And what can I say? And this is it. No, no. You can tell yourself that. You can tell yourself that, Sienna. But that man bit into a chicken artery. God, dude. That would change me. It would change me. I would never eat meat again. It would change me. God bless America. I would look at it and I would go, this isn't, this isn't, this isn't, this isn't.
Please. Holy smoke. They're just upping the ante on the lights. No way. You don't understand. Dude, I'm telling you, these things happen. These are writers. There's writers calling in, writing up bits. From Conan. It is not Stephen King on the phone lines. These are actual stories. There's got to be a TV show made about this. I would never watch a second. Not one second. I would season pass it. I would be terrified watching it. Season pass. And I would still watch it. People should start taking videos of what they find. Oh, my God. Oh, God. I'm going to vomit. Oh, my gosh. M1 Sergio from El Cajon. Are you there? Be gentle. Yeah, what's up, Mikey Show? I got a pretty bad one, man. You guys ready for this? Yep. No. All right.
This happened a while back. I was at my buddy's house with my girlfriend at the time, and we're pounding down beers. I set my beer down for a quick second, and then a couple seconds later, I take a drink out of my beer. I feel something moving around my mouth. Yeah, I had a little cockroach, lying cockroach in my mouth moving around. I got pulled it on the floor, stomped on it, wrapped for a bottle of toothpaste, shoved it in my mouth. I mean, it was... Oh my god, man. The fact that he killed it made it worse. I would kill it. I know, but it just makes it grosser that he stomped it. Like, because you know it was alive. I would be like, die! Sienna right now is like, I'm in a different universe. I really, like, I don't know how I did it, but I wish I could do this all the time. You're in a state of nirvana. It's exactly where I am. I cannot be beaten. And when the Krispy Kreme came in, that just made it even better. There was a point where Sienna left her body. I did. And she was like, you know what? I'm just going to sit here in this rocking chair, even though it's not a rocking chair. I'm rocking. Yeah. Because that's what I have. She's hovering over her body from above. She is... Her brain is now...
doing coping mechanisms. She's Nikki Six when he OD'd on heroin and he looked up and saw his own body. That's how I feel. Yeah. Yeah. If you take another call, I'm leaving. Yeah, I quit. I have a question. What? From what we've heard so far, what's the worst? I can't even talk about it. The artery got me pretty good. The artery didn't get me. The chicken, the blood salad. What was before that? Cockroach. Cockroach in the coffee mug. I was, it got me. The cereal. The first call got me. I mean, really. Woods with a skull, a mouth skull in his sandwich. You know, Lauren's boyfriend calling about fighting down on glass with his teeth. I mean, I just hear that and I feel that in my teeth. After that, I was gone. The blood salad is gone. It's just a dream now. Luckily for me, I don't mix in a lot of salads, so it didn't really get me that much. The blood doesn't discriminate. It'll go to a sandwich. That's true. Or a hoagie. Mr. Woods, we took the salad and we
I had it sent to a lab and were afraid that the blood was HIV positive. That's mean. That's mean. Oh, my God. That is the creepiest thing. Welcome to the wonderful world of AIDS. You wouldn't get it from eating it. You wouldn't get it from eating it. You couldn't get it from eating it because the oxygen kills it. My butt hurts. It made my head light. So is it 10 o'clock yet? My knees are wobbly. The arm hair, my arm hair grew from standing up straight. I looked over at L.O.B. She had giant goosebumps. Chicken skin. Chicken skin. It's just turned. Have some donuts. I did. I did. I ate an entire donut. I ate three. You did? Yeah. Wow. Quickly. I've had two. I'm going to have one more. Jay is not affected by any of it, by the way. No.
He said scab salad. Hey, I wouldn't make that at home. Hey, as long as you get a free meal out of it. Hey, protein. You got to do what you got to do. That's right. I mean, I'd be happy to find a scab in my sandwich. That's a free sandwich right there. I got kids to feed. I got kids to feed. I'll give them some scab, too. That's right. Spread it around. I'm going to open a rubber scab factory. What if you found an actual scab? And I'm ready to go home after that. In your peanut butter. Ew! Oh, wow, Ella B. Oh, wow. Ella B. She jutted her bottom jaw out and went... I saw stars. You saw stars. Get it right. It would be almond butter if it was L.O.B. It would be a scab in almond butter. I have a way to make it worse. Gosh. Oh, my gosh. And you spread it onto a piece of bread. And you're like, oh, wow, that's a scab. L.O.B. almost threw up. L.O.B. almost threw up. She almost threw up. She almost threw up.
Oh, my gosh. Barf, barf, barf, barf, barf, barf, barf. Can you imagine? You're like, what is that? Is that a pickle in my mayonnaise? What is that? It's thick. It's thick. That is so weird. Like, what is that? Oh, it's got little skin hanging off the side, too. You're like, is that beef jerky? Is there a hair coming out of it? Oh, my God. Is that beef jerky with a hair coming out of it? I didn't know they put venison jerky in mayonnaise now. What is that in my mayonnaise? No, no, no. You go like this. You're eating and you go, what is that? Is that ham? It's chewy. Oh, my gosh. Oh, I'm sweating. I'm telling you, I will remember this break 80 years from now. Yes.
I will remember. That is the filthiest. I mean. Imagine your teeth. And like the meat of the scab gets stuck in the back of your molars, you know? Scab meat. Scab meat. Hey, it looks like you got a little bit of scab in between your front two teeth. Yeah. Let me get that for you. Yeah, that could have happened to you, LLB. We would have called you scab instead of pepper. Oh, my gosh. Scabbers. Scabbers. Oh, my gosh. See you later. Oh, boy. Oh, my head is so light. Please watch closely as I use my lips. She has no idea. I feel like I have a fever. I know. Me too. I'm sweating. The whole conversation gave me a fever. I feel mushroom. See how it feels like she's on mushroom. I do. I'm telling you. I feel fine. It's your brain's coping mechanism. It is. It is. Self-protection. I feel like I can be knocked over with a feather.
I'll tell you how I know that Sienna had gone into coping mechanism mode because when we said scab in your mayonnaise, she started laughing hysterically. I was like, you can't face me now. She's like, I can take anything. Break it. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. We should break. Oh, my gosh. We have to break. Oh, my gosh. Arcade Fire. Gary. 5701-949's our number. That was something else. Oh. Quite a roller coaster today, huh? That's right. This one time, I was at a cantina, and the chips and salsa had a hair in them. Wow. Oh, God. I will only remember that segment the rest of my life. Yes. My goodness. Welcome back.
It's a Mikey show, and tonight's 8 o'clock album is Iron and Wine. Garrett. Actually, I think they changed it in honor of the reggae night. They did, in fact. Maybe they let you know. It's Steel Pulse. Steel Pulse. Garrett. True democracy. That's right. In fact, our very own Hillary is broadcasting from the... Reggae Legends Festival. Oh, maybe they did let me know. I went to the corporate email address. My bad. It's going to be at Valley View Casino Center. Right. It used to be called the San Diego Sports Arena. Very straightforward. I'll still call it that. Of course you will. Call it Smoke Fest. Yeah. Or just smoke marijuana on a Monday. Just listen to reggae real good. It's President's Day, man. Yeah, it's celebrated. It's celebrated the Presidents.
So that's going on. Doors are at 1.30. But our very own Hillary is going to be out there broadcasting live. The stage should be broadcasting live from 10 this morning to 8 tonight. It's the 30th annual tribute to Reggae Legends Festival. Wow. That's right. And Bunny Whaler. Here's some of the acts that will be out there. Bunny Whaler. Don Carlos. Freddie McGregor. Ah, Freddie McGregor will be there. They did book him? They were able to get Freddie McGregor. There's a clown. Is that Ian McGregor's brother? What's the matter with you, poor joking? Relax. Don't you know a joke when you're here? It was just sarcasm. What about Ewan McGregor? Oh, there you go. What did he say? Ian McGregor. I immediately thought Mr. McGregor's garden. Peter Rabbit. I'm a child. Any relation to Ian McGregor?
I saw him on the cover of Maximum Magazine. He was with Rachel McAdams. He was with Rachel Adams. True or false? Those two dated at one point. Every time I hear true or false now, I like false. It's true or false. Really? One time Jay said it. He looks like he's kind of snapping. Now it's all the sugar. All right, let's see. No more, though. I know, I can't take it. Please, no more. Maybe nobody got what I just did. You just call it a bar. That's a good word for a day like today. One might say it could be the word of the day. It's a good word. Today. Today. Of the day. Can. Can. I.
Can Tina? Mike, you did say. I like the cans on Tina. You and me both, brother. Finally, you're picking up what I'm putting down. Dip it like a pimp. Get something. Get it. Mike, did you get some this weekend? With your wife? I bet he did. Oh, boy. Mike did not go swimming. He was at La Costa and dove into the pool. It's a really good diving board sound. It is a diving board sound. Whenever we need a diving board sound, we've got you covered. Yeah, we've got one. Next time we do a Greg Luganis story, we'll be able to have a... There you go. Hey. 8.6. Triple flip with a pipe. Barely a splash there. Barely a splash. 570-195. That was the word of the day. Yeah.
In all fairness to them, there's two people listening today. I know. Everybody's at Reggae Fest rolling spliffs real good. They're just taking turns to be calling nine. Well, again. Here, I'm going to call. Why not? I mean, I want a Mikey Show teaser. No, the phones are ringing. Ever just come to work and four people are listening because it's President's Day? You have one of the best shows of your life? You ever tell a really emotional moment that nobody's heard? Yeah. Tomorrow people have no clue. Yeah. Hey Woods, I'm stoked for you this weekend, bro. Good luck. It's your weekend, bro. It should be great. Maybe listen to the podcast. We're preemptively yelling at them. Yeah, we're like, hey! Hey, with the posts! You heartless jerks! 5701949. Alan. Alan. Our phone screener today. He's having a great time in there. He's like, I don't know what this word of the day thing is. Mikey Show, hello. Let's see. Mikey Show, who's this? What was the word of the day? Cantina. How'd you get that one? It took me long enough to call me. There you go. Snuck it in real nice. Real good. You just won yourself a pair of Anarchy sunglasses, a pair of tickets to G-Lovin' Special Sauce, and a Mikey Show t-shirt. Sweet, dude. Thanks. Congrats. Hang on. Very nice. Let's see.
Paris Hilton did not have butt implants. Oh. Yet I did. Finally, the rumor's been expelled. Didn't even know that it was a thing. Oh, yeah. Calf implants, butt implants. That's been a Paris Hilton thing? No, but that's a thing that people do. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I knew that, but I had never heard that people thought that of Paris. I had a gut implant. It was a big mistake. Big mistake. Didn't have a gut implant. Now I'm fat. Now you're fat? Oh, boy. Oh, wow. Do you know here at Hot Topics, there have been some pictures of you around, and I led the charge, you guys. I'm not going to front because Paris is here. Remember I was asking? Did she get butted? Didn't people? I thought I'm not going to front when that was sort of a Vanilla Ice era. Yeah, Public Enemy, real good. Yeah. Who is that talking? Do we know? Wendy Williams. Kid. Plants.
Did you see the pictures in the magazines? I saw that. Yeah, yeah. No, I didn't. I never got any implants. But what I assume, now that you're talking about working out, I guess you're doing lunges. Because lunges poof at your butt. They do? I think I'm just eating healthy now. Before I was underweight, and now I'm at a normal, healthy weight. And I don't know, the media's first saying that I'm pregnant. First I'm too skinny, then they're saying I'm pregnant. Now they're saying I'm a bodybuilder. I'm like, are you serious? Wow. Sounds like she's lost the baby voice. Yes. Too bad. She's 30 now. Finally, she feels it's time to grow up. What are 10 dirty fruits and veggies, Sienna? I bet I know. Veggie, dirty veggie. Radishes, because they come out of the dirt. Broccoli. Potatoes. Or, as some people I know would say, potatoes. Potatoes. Wasn't Jay called those night shaders? Nightshades. Nightshades. No. Potatoes is on there. Yeah. Grapes, cherries, celery. Celery is the worst one. They say that one single celery stock has 13 pesticides. While the whole celery, the whole stock of it, I mean, would you call a whole celery a stock? Yeah. 67 pesticides. Go organic. One thing of. Oh, boy.
Fake this. No, it's a real deal. Seriously, man. Woods, come on. There's still pesticides there. Of course. Not organic. They can't label it organic. Dude, let me tell you. You're a sweet kid. Bro. You're a sweet kid. You're the sweet kid. You're the sweet kid. You're the sweet kid. You're a sweet kid to think that there's nothing on the organic vegetables. have to go through a wacky regulation. Absolutely. Just like sandwich places that have blood in their sandwiches and skulls in their tuna. One's an accident and you can't say as a grower, ooh, I accidentally used pesticides. In order to be certified organic, if that were the case, bro, trust me, everybody that grows stuff would be like, we're organic. Yeah. Five years. I think they do. When they've been approved as organic and then they're put into like a box or a bag or whatever with all the non-organic stuff in the truck and they rub all together and are delivered by these people that work in the grocery store. I think they're supposed to be delivered totally pesticide-free with other organic products. Well, I hope so. I buy organic stuff. And they're in a different part. They're in a different area. I don't waste my time. Not really. Just buy the normal stuff.
In the Statler Brothers. In Henry's, they put them in separate. And in Henry's, it's all in a separate area. They don't mix them together. The pesticides, here's the deal. I think it's weird. I think it's weird to eat stuff that has chemicals that kill bugs. I think that's pretty weird. Yes. Yeah. I have a friend that's a breast cancer survivor, and she's convinced that it's pesticides. Oh, wow. Well. I mean, I don't know if that's what caused it. I mean, maybe. I mean, but what I will say is that I do think it's weird that we're eating that. Why take the chance? Yes. So if you are not buying organic and you have celery, peaches, strawberries, apples, blueberries, sweet bell pepper, grapes, potatoes, or cherries, those are the dirtiest of the fruits and veggies, most pesticides. So make sure you wash them really well. You don't care? I don't care. Woods? Woods licked a taller bill. Yeah, I got bigger fish to fry. I'm not worried about setting my celery. I wash it off in the sink. I'm good to go. Right? You wash it off. I wash all my vegetables. He dips on the plane. Come on. You wash it off. Yeah, you wash all our... People have special wash. We do, too. I do, too. It's called water. I just rinse everything. Veggie? I didn't even know that was such a thing. Spray it down. It's a product, and it's basically...
made out of the oil that comes out of oranges. Does it make your food taste funny? Yeah, like oranges. Perfect. I don't like that. I just need some water. Elbow grease. Yeah. On a grape. Filthy what we're eating. Wash your grape individually. Yeah, with a little toothbrush. Scraping the grape. If it's that much trouble, maybe we just don't eat it. Or just eat it and who cares? Let the chips fall where they may. I'll tell you why. Because what if you're eating a cow? that ate some hay that was sprayed by gunk. How am I going to know? How are you going to know? Yeah, I don't know. Maybe you know because you grow a third eye. Well, I never get sick, knock on wood. I mean, I'm good. Oh, boy, I would. You jinxed yourself. No, I didn't. A kid doesn't get sick. You know that. Oh, boy. If I do get sick, I'm still coming to work, so don't worry about it. I don't want you to come to work if you're sick. Me either. I prefer... organic if I could have it. Because then I don't have to worry about it. Yeah. I just go, eh, I don't have to worry about it. If you buy organic, do you still wash it with the water? Absolutely. Or can you just pop it in your mouth? No, you have to wash it as well. Why? But what about dirt and other air pollutants that get on it? Yeah, it's just gross. For a farm to be considered organic, it has to be like, I think it's five years chemical free. Oh, dude, we were going to buy a cow, half a cow, and split it with some friends, go in halfsies.
Buy half a cow. And there was the difference in price between an organically raised cow and a regular cow. Holy cow. What are you looking at? Holy cow. What are you looking at getting half a cow? What's the action that's going to come out of your pocket? I think it was about. $1,300 for the whole half cow. Holy cow. And you can eat off that thing for a good, solid weekend. You've got to have a freezer. Good, solid weekend. Oh, yeah. I could easily make a weekend out of that. What the heck? Not longer than a weekend? No. Not for me. We'd kill that in a weekend. We eat a lot of red meat. And me, too. Ribs. Weeks. Shanks. Yeah. Filets. I was watching Andrew Zimmern over the weekend. You can just say TV. Yeah, we know what you mean. Your shows. My stories. I was watching my stories. Did you say I was at home? Did you say I was at home? I was at home. Did you say you left work? Yeah. And that equals you watched Andrew Zimmerman. I was doing my thing. Yeah, doing my thing. The microphone turned off. He was in Chicago, and they have a place that you pay 50 bucks a person if you want to go.
and this guy at a pretty nice high-end restaurant in Chicago takes a half of a pig, and he'll butcher it in front of you and show you how it's done. And I was like, in. In, in, in, in. I would be in. And then after he does it, you get to eat? I'm in on that. Oh, dude. Do you remember where it was? I'd have to watch it again, because they had all these neighborhood names. Which you probably will, so just let me know. I will watch it again. Yeah, let me know. But I was like, if I'm ever there, I would love to go experience that. Not me. Let's do it. And they said that, Zimmern said that it was so good, like, boom, right off and cooked. Because they cook it for you right there. No, they don't butcher the pig in front of you. They don't kill it. No. Oh, okay. No, it's a half of a pig. That's right. It's been cleaned and everything. And he just shows you how they, he's like, all right, so now we're going to make bacon. And he shows you where the bacon comes from. Oh, I love it. He's like, here's the ribs, you know. And you got to see how a professional goes about this. And I'm like, it was rad. I like butcher shops. I feel like a man when I'm in a butcher shop. Yeah. I thought you were an animal lover. I am. But they taste good. They taste real good. They taste delicious. I'm a dog lover. That's what I am. You ever wrap a piece of bacon around like a bell pepper or something? It's great. Yeah. Agreed. I just don't want to see the cutting up process. No.
It needs to be served on a plate for me to be able to enjoy it. M1Hodad Jr.? Hey, how's it going, Mikey Show? Good, dude. Happy Lincoln's birthday to all for you. That's right. I used to be a pest control technician for a little while. Do you guys know the definition of organic pesticide? No. What is it? Well, when they say it's organic or they've only used organic pesticides, That just means that it's all natural ingredients, no synthetic ingredients. It doesn't necessarily mean that it's better for you. Hey, wait a minute. There are places that will grow stuff without the use of pesticide. Well, they'll still use organic pesticides, which, you know, they'll use orange oil, lemon oil, thyme, sage, stuff like that. Sage. But the stuff that we used to use a lot of times, the organic stuff. Yeah. was a lot worse than the synthetic stuff. You know, they spend a lot of time making the synthetic pesticide to be as safe as possible. We had some organic stuff I used to spray on people's houses, and it would burn the paint off the walls after like two or three months of use. Well, wait, now, you're talking the difference between the, and I know what he means, because we've had the pesticide people come to the house to, you know, doesn't kill anything. At least it didn't in our case. I was like, hey.
Call Corky's back. Tell him to bring in the heavy stuff. Bring in the DDT. Oh, yeah. They're sprayed water on you. Yeah. But anyway, no, I believe that the vegetables that we get when they're organic are safe to eat. Okay. No? I believe, I bet you believe that if you tear the mattress off your, or the tag off your mattress, you're going to get in trouble, too. You're a sweet kid. I believe that fairies exist. Yes, you're a sweet kid. Mermaids. The lovely and talented Hillary is coming up next. She's going to be broadcasting from the Reggae Legends Fest. Yeah, man. So tune in. We'll come back tomorrow morning at 6 o'clock and do this again. The Mikey Show's out. Late.
