Everything sound normal to you, though? Okay, I'll make sure everything is normal on everyone else's end, because if it was sounding strange to everybody, there would be an issue. Perfect. Why do you have on different headphones? I forgot mine at home, because we took our headphones with us to our live broadcast on Friday, and so I forgot to bring them back in. And so I will have to wait on that. So I'm wearing a strange. Yeah. A lot of people have worn those, too. Lots of different people. Male, female. Oh, gosh. I have on different ones, so I sound weird. Do I sound weird to you guys? No. Sound great. You sound great to me. Yeah. I will say this. Your voice sounds a little beat up. Raspy. Yeah, a little raspy. Yeah. Foxy. Yeah, it is. She had some big news to announce over the weekend, and that is that...
She, L-O-B, is engaged. Holy smokes. She is engaged. And we don't know the story. Nope. We do not know the story. So we are going to find out along with you this morning at 730. Now, I'm only going to be here today until 8. And then I'm leaving to go have surgery. And then tomorrow. What will happen is we will have, Mikey's show will still be on sans me. So it'll be Woodsy, L-O-B, and Jay. And they will give you sports and news updates and play some best of stuff. So it'll be like a mixture of all that. A hybrid. What size cup are you going down to?
Oh, shit. Owie. Owie. Oh, that one got me. It hurt. It hurt. It hurt. But I can stand up. I can stand up. Hang on. Wait, wait, wait. He's talking about because you're having surgery. Okay, okay, okay. And he just naturally assumes. You're having a reduction. That I'm having a reduction. If you and L.O.B. got together, you could donate a little. Could be perfect. Beneficial. What a nice guy. Awesome. That's our friend Jay. I didn't use the term loosely. Friend as an, you know, acquainted. Coworker. So, well, give us a call here if you want to wish me luck on my reduction. Yeah. 570-1949. Or say congratulations. Congratulations to LLB.
He can come out with kind words instead of insults. That's right. That's right. You can. Yes. 5701949. He's incapable. No. He can be a little on the harsh side, but it's funny. It always never fails to disappoint. So here's the things that we have to talk about. We have a lot of things on the docket. First of all, front page of the UT today is... how much money San Diego spends on their city halls. So we have an issue with the stadiums. We've made that very clear. Yes. Well, the city of San Diego. Can't get anything done with the stadium. However, when it comes to city halls, we love our city halls. In fact, $530 a square foot. That is how much it costs for San Diego.
to do a city hall. Vista, same price. Now, here's the thing about it. You may say to yourself, well, what are they doing at the city hall? What exactly is going into all of that? Well, let's say, let's talk about the one in Coronado. They have a community center. The community center includes two swimming pools, a gym, a community playhouse, and a rock climbing wall, and fitness room. That's the community center. In Vista, they have so much debt that they shouldn't be spending money on anything. But again, $530 a square foot for their city hall. And the total cost, $53,041,950. Holy cow. Yeah. So it's a lot of money.
It's a lot of money, and they put that on the cover of the UT today because I assume part of what we should be thinking about when we hear it is, well, really? I'm going to spend all the money on that? I mean, everybody's got their opinions about what the money should be spent on, but if it were up to me, we'd have a new stadium for the Chargers. Yeah, me too. So, let's see. Oh, Whitney Houston's funeral happened over the weekend. Bobby Brown became basically the focus. Weird. Yeah, I know. He became the focus. He felt disrespected. And this is Al Sharpton talking about it. And I also heard, Reverend, that you actually talked to Bobby. I called his cell phone.
And he told me some ushers or someone had moved him around. He felt disrespected. He said, Reverend, all I wanted to do was come and show love and respect for Whitney. This man had... Do you guys know what the deal is? Like, why it's like this anyway? Why is the family so estranged from Bobby Brown? Because of the drugs and the crazy behavior. Did he get her into it and stuff? Her family's like, we don't want anything to do with you because you started this. I mean, I watched a couple of episodes of Bobby and Whitney, and it was, I mean, they had a crazy life. That was their reality show. Yeah, crazy life. It's insane, man. Just drama all the time. Not only right, he had a responsibility to be there with his daughter. And the Reverend confirming to Extra Brown's early exit had nothing to do with Whitney's family. That was not the spirit I picked up from Sissy Houston at all, and it wasn't the spirit of Bobby Brown. A lot of famous people there. A lot of famous people. In fact, a little bit later on, I will play for you some of what Kevin Costner said. Now, Kevin Costner was reading from a prepared statement that he had, and it shocked me how similar it sounded to what his films sound like. Really? Yes. I got in trouble on Sunday for turning off the bodyguard when I got home from my baseball game. I just turned it off because...
Eastbound and Down season premiere was starting. And I said, I'm not watching The Bodyguard. I missed the beginning. I've never seen it. Yeah. I'm not going to start in the middle. I'll watch it, but I'm not going to watch it right now. Never seen it? No. I've never seen it. Oh, it's a good movie. Is it? Yes. Great movie. Well, maybe now that she... All right, I'll see it. I probably still won't. That's a good movie. Jesse Jackson. I'm Whitney and Bob. It seemed to me to have been a kind of logistical nightmare. I spoke with the Reverend Jesse Jackson, who returned to Chicago. He was seated behind the pulpit during the celebration. Reverend Jackson went to Brown and got his phone number, then tried to defuse what could have been a huge embarrassment. What did you two talk about, and can you tell us what exactly happened? First, I appealed him to not leave, even though that was a snafu. But to go back in the church would have been even more commotion. He was trying to leave? Oh, man. Come on, Bobby. Don't just sit there and mourn. Yeah, just sit there and mourn. Don't throw a tantrum. Please, man. It's a funeral. You don't need respect at a funeral. Yes. You don't need respect. You pay respect. You pay respect. Yes. Exactly right. You're not there to put respect in your wallet. No. You're there to take respect out of your wallet. Yeah, and hand it over. And hand it over. I want to make sure that his response was appropriate and that whatever.
sense of pain he had that he spoke above it and not compound his own sense of embarrassment and be a distraction from this celebration. Yeah, you're there with a ladle. You're not there with a pouch opened up. Right. Wanting your share of respect. Come on. Jeez, what a train wreck. I know it. And so it begins. Iran has cut oil supplies. to France and Britain. Now, that's not a big deal. The truth of the matter is that's not a big deal because only 3% of France's oil is from Iran anyway. And six months ago, Britain stopped getting oil from them. That's not the big deal. Here's the big deal. The big deal is the perception that it sends out to the rest of the world. In fact, oil prices rose to a nine-month high. to $105 a barrel today after they said that they were going to stop exporting oil to Britain and France. And it's all over this nuclear stuff. It's all about the nuclear stuff. It's just another indication that this thing is starting to heat up. Jay, the whole thing is starting to get hotter and hotter, and it's going to, I told you, this is one of those deals where I'm afraid to see where this thing is going with Iran.
Because they are a wacky neighbor in the cul-de-sac, and now they're starting to do their bit. Oh, boy. And it may equate to all of us paying more money at the gas pump. In fact, one estimate that I read said that in the summer, it could, doesn't mean it will, but it could get as high as $5 a gallon. Gosh. Hasn't it been there? 2008. In 2008 was the last time it was bad. I don't think it ever reached the five mark. It didn't. Now, here's the thing. God. Here's the thing about 2008. There were people, you were constantly reading in the news, there were people that were siphoning gas. Yeah, stealing it. Stealing gas. Hoarding it. It's like the 70s. Yeah. Yeah. Those gas line pictures are unbelievable. I never understood the lines. It's there. You know, it was just a... Maybe then it was a shortage. Now it's an expense. Yeah, it was a shortage. It wasn't there. You ever go to Costco on the weekend? Yes. You ever see that line? Yeah. For like a nickel less? Yeah. There's 50 cars. I used it for the first time over the weekend, the Costco deal. And...
I couldn't use a regular credit card. I had to use a debit card. Oh, really? I don't know if that's a deal. No, because I used to use my American Express there. You did? Uh-huh. It was just luck of the draw. I got a bad one. M1 Scooby is on the line from RB. Hi, Scoob. Hey, guys. What's going on? Not too much, dude. Wanted to say congratulations. Yeah. Towards you. Stop it. Stupid. Stop it. Scoob came out and watched my game on Sunday. No, for real, though, I want to say what's up to LLB. Man, finally did it, huh? He did it. He did it. And listen, she told us that the story, it's not going to disappoint. I can't wait. I guarantee you've never heard it before. All I want to know is that after he asked you, did you slap him in the face? No, I did not. She did not. I kissed him on his face. Well, might as well have been a slap, I guess. I cannot wait. I cannot wait. I cannot wait to hear the story. Thanks, Scoob. Yeah, man. It's coming up. Scoob's the best. He was barking at the umpires at my game. Was he? It was awesome. He's like, they called me out on strikes on one pitch, and he's like, that was outside, Blue. I'm like, yeah, you get him, Scoob. That's great. That was legit. Woodsy's baseball team, the banger, bang, bang. Come on, dude.
You're better than that. You're doing a bit. You're better than that. No, it's difficult to say. No, it's really not. It's just that it's, you know. Why aren't you guys just the Bangin' Burgers? The what? Because we don't want to be. Bangin' Burgers. We don't want to be. It's the Bangin' Burgers. Gosh. Mikey, I'm sorry. I'm trying here. The Bangin' Burgers Bruins. You added Bruins on the end and it screwed up everybody. Well, L.O.B., no offense, but we don't want to be the Burgers. Why not? Because there's no team called the Burgers. You guys added too much. No, we didn't. It should just be the Bang & Burgers. The Bang & Burgers Bruins. No, it's too much. And it's easy. Listen, if you just say it fast, it's the Bang & Burgers Bruins. Gosh darn it. The Bang & Burgers Bruins. Oh, boy. Anyway, they won. Again. Two to nothing. No, we're 2-0 now. Oh. What was the score? 9-5. Well, look at you. And Woodsy came in and... Save the game. Yep, shut it down. That's pretty awesome. Woodsy pitches, too. Yeah, back pitching. M1 Buzz from Claremont. Hey, Mike. How are you guys doing today? Doing good, dude. I just wanted to wish you good luck with your surgery. I know a lot of people are praying for you. Yeah, good luck. And L.O.B., it's about time. There you go. Poor Matt. Thanks. Thank you. So, L.O.B., let's discuss this. Yeah.
Because we were discussing it off the air about how people are. Now, you got to remember, people are grown up little kids. So we're as dumb as little kids sometimes. Now, sometimes people say the darndest things, don't they? Yes. L.O.B. would rather, she would prefer if people said, just left it at, hey, congrats. Yeah. I just, I'm not mad. I don't get mad. I have thick skin, so I don't really care. But I just, I didn't even get a chance to go through all the Facebook stuff. But some of the stuff I saw on there, I was like, just put yourself in my shoes. Yes. Would you want to be congratulated or would you want bits done? Yes. You know? Yeah. Also, Matt has eyes. Right. And when you write that kind of stuff, it doesn't make him feel good. Yeah. And people should remember that. Yeah.
And be nice. And his mom and his family and my family and like. Yeah, family. Not everybody's jokey jokey. Yeah, Matt didn't sign up. Matt's a musician. Yeah. He's not a comedian. Yeah. And I agree with that. And when you put it that way, it really makes sense. Yeah. It does. It doesn't make me mad. It just made me think like, hey, come on. Especially if I've never met you, you might want to do. Yeah. Just be cool. Just keep it to the core, Joel. That is a true statement. If you can't say anything. That's right. Then you just don't say anything. Gosh darn. It's a true story. I thought that this was kind of funny. Woodsy watched JFK. Yeah. Yes. Yesterday. And I thought it was funny because he did something that I've done before and that I think people do. We started Googling JFK stuff all day. Like a mad. Like a madman. Of course. Like I was doing a research paper. I'm looking up Clay Bertram, Clay Shaw, JFK. I looked up Oswald's kids. Where are they now? Right. I mean, I was going nuts. Really? Then that led me into, obviously, Charles Manson's kids. Oh, gosh. How many did he have? Where are they now? Wow. Crazy. Yeah. I spent all day just Googling JFK killers and all kinds of stuff. Oh, my gosh. That's the best part about watching those.
Like historical. Yeah. You've never seen that movie, have you? I've never seen it. It's really good. I know you don't like Oliver Stone, but it's really, really good. I've always thought that his movies are goofy. It's this one. This ain't goofy. No. I mean, the cast is ungodly. And I mean, it's long, dude. It is a perfect lay around all day and watch a movie movie. What did you think of my movie reviews? Awesome. Gosh. I did not see them. Well, I can tell when Woods has had it. I haven't had it. Did you write them or did you tell them? Oh, he wrote them. He wrote them. He wrote them. Oh, gosh. Several of them. Several? Several. By several, he means two. Well, there's one. It's still in the wings. I can't write a review on that one. I left. I left the movie. You did? Yeah. You didn't tell me that. I went to see a movie yesterday. I left. Okay, why did you do that? Because the movie was too shaky and it was making me sick. Ah. The old Blair Witch bit. Yeah, like Blair Witch. So what did you do? You posted a partial review? I didn't post a review at all. Oh. Is there somewhere that people can see this? The review? He tagged you in it. I know, but I just said I wasn't on Facebook. He tagged me in it, Jay in it, and all of us. I'll stop. But what about the public that we're speaking to?
Yeah, I put it on my Facebook. Okay. And I tried to put it on our fan page, but it wouldn't work. I, of course, said, I can't see too well. Is that Roger Ebert? Yeah. So... Is this your new page? Excuse me. So one of us watches JFK and then Googles Charles Manson. Right. Leads him into Googling Charles Manson's kids. Correct. Yeah. Okay. I can relate to that. The other one writes down his thoughts. On a couple of movies. I can't really say that. And he's the weird one. He's the weird one. Yeah, you're the weird one. I was doing research. Personal research. I wasn't sharing my research. What if I had written my notes out for all this? Well, you know, there's a real such thing as movie reviews. Yeah, but you're a radio host. Isn't it okay to tell you what I think of a movie? Sure. Just got a lot of spare time? Sure. You can just fire away. You can tell me. Is it...
Is there like an air of humor to it? Are you really reviewing it? No, no. They're real reviews. No, they're real reviews. I read the one on The Grey. And you had already movie whipped me into seeing that other one. What is it called? Chronicle. Chronicle. I'm already going to see it because I have to now. You'll never leave me alone about it. It's worse than Inception. Which you've still not seen. Still haven't seen. But this one I will see. Inception you won't like. No. You know me. Yes, I do. But the one, I was actually a little disappointed to read your review because I was looking forward to seeing the gray, but now I'm not because of your review. See? So you just cost them $7. The review actually told you something. It did. It really did. Isn't that nice? Yes. Now I won't have to see it. Yeah, I'm not going to see that either way. Yeah. Even if your review is... Glowing. Glowing, yes. Well, the reviews will not stop. I know. I'm going to keep doing it. Okay. And I'll tell you why. I enjoy it. Well, Siskel died. That's true. And Ebert isn't doing that great. You know, I actually wanted to do that at one point. Well, who didn't?
Everybody I know has wanted to do that. That's the best job in the world. Have they? Yeah, you watch movies. Everybody has wanted to be a movie. Yeah. Jay, you've wanted to be a movie. Sure, be movies. A restaurant critic, a CD, or like a music critic, or a movie critic. I was cast in a pilot where I was supposed to review movies. That happened. So you went and saw three movies this weekend. Yes. In between your workout? When a guy's down, Jay, you... That's the time you could have spent on the treadmill. That's all I'm saying. That's it. You could easily make fun of Jay by seeing what he did in his weekend by looking at the recap. Yeah, what'd you put in your recap, Jay? I just said, hey, check out LLB. She got married. Or engaged. Yeah, I'm going to get married. Just engaged. Well, listen. He's got a point. Maybe I should have put a workout in there. Yeah, just one. Just one, but I didn't.
In fact, I... Well, weekends are for relaxing, so... Oh, four days. Four days? Not a one? Not a one. No. I did get a Klondike bar, though. What would you do for a Klondike bar? There's not much you wouldn't do, right? Have it done. That you thought was an ice cream sandwich. Yeah. Which is such a bummer. Jay goes, where'd you get it? I said, well, they sell them, Jay. At a store. I got it at a store. Well, you were just surprised that it wasn't an ice cream sandwich. Which I thought, you can look at the bar and go, okay, that's clearly not an ice cream sandwich. What's the matter with you, Mike? I thought you of all people would know what it is. Can you smell it out? I expect you to see a review on it. I'll put you in there blindfolded and you're going to pick one out. Mike, can you write a review on your club? 12 page. You look like the bear on the wrapper. 12 page. I like the reviews. Keep them up.
Yeah, yeah, I'm sure I will. I've not seen him to say whether or not I like him. I tagged you in it. Yeah, he did. Yeah, I know, but my Facebook blew up after I announced that I was engaged, so I just didn't want to go on there and read movie reviews. From your friend Mike, who's not a qualified movie reviewer. Well, isn't anybody? I mean, I think all reviews are a matter of opinion. Yeah. You know? I mean, what you may, like L.O.B., The Ides of March, she hated it. I loved it. Our reviews would have been starkly different. I would like to know why, though, and that's why I enjoy it. You know, because I just, I would like to know why you like the movie. Yes. I think anything that Woods is going to like, I'm not going to like. That's a true story. And I think if I said I liked it, she automatically says I don't like it. No, I've trusted him on so many things. And I'm sick of people saying that Drive is a good movie. Drive is a brilliant movie. It's brilliant. I want to see it. It's brilliant. It's terrible. It's brilliant. It's terrible. It's terrible. It's terrible. It's terrible. It's terrible. It's terrible. Today, we will tell you the entire story about it. We'll be getting engaged. I can't wait. It's at 7.30. Also, we're going to be playing Catchphrase today. Oh, boy. This is The Mikey Show on FM 94.9.

I stole from the Rolling Stones dressing room. I got this little coffin thing. I stole it from there. On FM 94.9. A little bit of backup here on the 94 westbound Bancroft Drive. Kenwood Drive is a little bit better. Bancroft Drive is about 49 miles an hour. On the 54 eastbound, the 125 north, it's about 29 miles an hour. There will be four married people on this program. LOB made the announcement over the weekend that she is engaged.
And what we do not know is the story. Do not know the story. Don't know how it went down. I cannot wait to find out how it all went down, how it all played out, how Matt did this. And we're all going to find out. We're going to hear the story, the full story. Get the whole download at 730. I could tell you, I could give you a million guesses and you would not guess. Fascinating. It's quite a day for her on Friday, wasn't it? Yes. Yes, it was. Friday was a day. A little princess day. I know, right? We had our dance at the House of Blues, the Wiscate Dolls dance. My stage name was Daisy. Yes. Matt showed up with a couple dozen daisies. Little angel. Afterwards. Yeah, if you notice that L.O.B.'s voice is a little bit hoarse, she's been obviously talking all weekend long about her engagement. Yes, I had to charge my phone like seven times. Oh, my gosh. A lot of family members between the two of us. You are going to be married. Yeah. Yes, I am. Oh, wow. Where are my bits going to come from? I know. Seriously, what are we going to do? What will we do for bits? But, yeah, LOB is going to tell us all about it and what's going on with that in a little bit. Let's see. M1, that's a Mikey Show listener. When you hear the term M1, you know that's a Mikey Show listener.
When you call in, you turn your radio down, get to the point, and don't cuss. After 8, the crew here will be doing news and sports, filling you in with headlines about stuff and also giving you information about what's happening in the sporting world, which is a slow time right now. I don't envy your position today, Woodsy, because it's slow. You know, surprisingly enough, it's actually, yes, it's slow because there's no baseball or football on. But I'm telling you, Lynn Sanity. Yeah, Linsanity's keeping you going. It's Linteresting, you know what I mean? I'm Linteresting talking about it. It is so un-Linteresting. No, it's Linteresting. It really is Linteresting, LLB. LLB hates Linsanity. It's Linsane right now. Jeremy, Jeremy Lin. Jeremy Lin. Yes. From the Knicks. Yep. Is the darling of sports right now. He has brought the NBA. Nobody was interested in the NBA when they came back because the season was delayed. They had a lockout. Everybody's all the way in on basketball again. Even me. I'm watching freaking Knicks games. Is he good? Yeah, he's good. I mean, the kid's averaging like 25 points. You can't do that in this league without being a good player. My goodness. He's doing really well. Well, there you go. I'm having surgery today, and so I'm leaving at 8. Are your tubes tied? No, Jay. I'm not getting my tubes tied. It's killing me. It's hot. Okay, okay, okay.
Earlier, Jay asked what cup size I was going to. Yeah. Yes. It's got to be down because you're going to be going down. Yes. Can't get any bigger. Reduction. You knock people out with those babies if they get any bigger. Wow. I thought it was just Jay. You should have said it in Jay voice, L-O-B. Yes. You're supposed to say it in Jay voice. Everything's fine if it's in Jay voice. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show. I'm 41. I'm getting my gallbladder taken out today. Woods is 36. He's our sports guy, and he's lost some weight. I can tell. He's lost some LBs. Tried to put some back on this weekend. Did you? Yeah. Saw that real good. How did you see it, Jay? Ice cream sundae posted on my page. Are you serious? One of my teammates turned you in. Do you hear what I said? Teammates. Teammates. Took a picture. Yeah, of me after our victory feasting on an ice cream sundae. That's not very team-like. It's not very team-like. Just looking out for you. Let's see. L.O.B. is the engaged girl sitting to my right now. Beautiful ring. Yep, just glittering. Gosh darn, that's a pretty ring. It is beautiful. L.O.B., how does it feel to have that thing on your finger? Dangerous. Dangerous? I keep feeling like I'm going to lose it. Don't lose that thing. Don't lose it. I need to size it. Because if anybody did, oh God, you know it would be her.
He has insurance on it. That's a good call. It's a freaking rock. Yeah, it looks really good. It looks really good. He did a great, great job. He did. He did. Like I said to Rebecca, I said, you can tell a wedding ring is big. You look at it and you go, that girl is very married. When you see that thing, you will go, oh, she's not just married. She's freaking married. She's freaking married. I had to ask him because everything happened in such a blur, the proposal moment. I said, Did I say, did I comment on the ring before I said yes? Oh my God. Oh, wow. I can't wait to hear this story. I can't. I can't give you any more taste. Let's see. Jay is our producer. He is 48 years of age. He doesn't look it. He looks a lot younger than 48. And we do not have a phone screener. I don't know what's going on. We don't have a phone screener. Jay, do you know what happened to our phone screener? I know it's supposed to be Emily today. Right now we're going through, we're actually in the hiring process looking for a permanent or somebody to co-head the phone screener department here for us. Oh, so it may be a two-headed. Yeah, we could do, well, there's a bunch of things we could do, but we're taking applications. There you go. So we're kind of.
Doing our phone screener thing today on the fly. Yeah. In limbo. That's right. Billy Baldwin's 49 today. Oh, wow. Happy birthday, Bill. Tyne Daly. One of my favorites. Woods girl. Was she Cagney or Lacey? I don't remember. I don't remember which one. More like Cagney. Cagney or Lacey. Did she have the man haircut? Yes. The bowl. The chili bowl. She had the chili bowl haircut. Yeah. She's 66 today. She looks... Kelsey Grammer, 57. He looks about 76. Yeah. He looks old. He looks older than 77. Guys lived hard. Jennifer Love Hewitt. Oh, yeah. She's only 33. I know. And David Geffen is 69 years old today. On this day, 64 years ago, in 1948, NASCAR was founded. And on this... My ass all morning? No, me.
I'm just saying. Cool. Trying to put things in there. I know, yeah, yeah. I think it'll be interesting. Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's nothing against you. 65 years ago today, 1947. Now I'm questioning this one. I'm interested. I'm so self-conscious. No, it has nothing to do with you. Edwin Land. Ah. God, you B. It's too easy. He first demonstrated his camera, which was used to... With self-developing film, produced a black and white photograph in 60 seconds, and so the Polaroid camera was born. Yes. Wow. Source of much entertainment. Oh, yeah. That's right. Nude photos everywhere. Yes, that's a true story. So Whitney Houston was laid to rest on Sunday, yesterday, and a lot of famous people spoke. Tyler Perry, Bebe and CeCe Winans, Clive Davis.
R. Kelly, Alicia Keys, and Kevin Costner. Now, Kevin Costner wrote down what he wanted to say. Now, I've always been a bit critical of Kevin Costner. I've always said he plays the same guy in every movie. And I've also said that when he acts, he sounds like he's reading. Really? I've always thought that. I love Costner. But this is Kevin at her funeral. The Whitney I knew despite her success and worldwide fame still wondered, am I good enough? Am I pretty enough? Will they like me? It was the burden that made her great and the part that caused her to stumble in the end. Whitney, if you could hear me now, I would tell you, you weren't just good enough. You were great. You sang the whole damn song without a band. You made the picture. He actually sounds more natural in the movie. than he does. He actually sounds more natural reading this than he does in the movie where he's not supposed to be reading. What it was, a lot of leading men could have played my part. A lot of guys, a lot of guys could have filled that role. But you, Whitney, I truly believe that you were the only one that could have played Rachel Maron at that time. You weren't just pretty. You were as beautiful as a woman could be. And people didn't just like you, Whitney. They loved you. There you go. There's your boy. Very nice. Kevin Costner.
I like him. He said nice stuff. Let's see. Number one movie over the weekend was Safe House. Made $28 million. I saw three-fourths of it. And, you know, three-fourths of it was good. And then it made me want to vomit and I had to leave. It shook. You know, the camera. Shaky camera. This means war. Have you heard of that movie? Yes. Is it a rom-com? Yeah, with Reese. Witherspoon. Oh, yeah. Deal. That was fifth place, $20 million. Ghost Rider. Yip. Spirit of Vengeance was fourth. Journey 2. The Mysterious Island came in third. That's the 3D movie for kids. The Vow. Still hanging in there. Of course it is. Everybody likes True Love. Yeah. Came in second place. Can't wait to see that. And Safe House number one. We will be playing...
Catchphrase in just a bit. So stick around for that. Let's see. The Greece bailout. It happened. This is very good for our economy. Yeah. Very good for our economy. In fact, I saw this morning that stocks and stuff like that are up this morning. But the Eurozone countries came to an agreement early today. It's going to give Greece $170 billion. Wow. $170 billion. That comes from other countries in Europe? Yeah, to help bail them out. Man. Yeah. It's quite the Grecian formula. It certainly is. They all came together, and this is supposed to bring their debt down to only 120%. Ah, holy cow. Wow. Yes, of their gross domestic product. And by the way, that won't even happen until 2020. That's the maximum that they can have. And that's what they had to bail them out to bring them to. I mean, after giving them all that dough, $170 billion, they still are at 120% debt and won't even finish until 2020. That's insane. They also, this is what else they had to do for Greece. They had to cut the interest rate that they had for them by...
and make it 1.5% to pay their loans. So they said, all right, all this stuff that you owe for your loans will make the interest rate 1.5. It had already been lowered to 2% to 3%. So they're lowering it even more to try to help Greece out. But listen, it helps us, man. In the final analysis, it's good for us too. Sure. 570-1949 is our number. You can give us a call. LOB is engaged. Mm-hmm. And she's going to tell us the whole story. My throat is really dry because I can't drink anything because of the surgery. What about cough drop? Lozenge? Can I do that? Sure. It won't hurt you. All right. That won't hurt me, right? No. Can I have one? I don't have any. Okay, perfect. It's really dry this weekend, too. Yeah. Let's see. Your phone call is 570-1949. So, Woodsy, tell me about Linsanity. Well, last night was a big night for Linsanity, LLB. And I know you're very interested in Jeremy Lin and all that he's been contributing. But so the big deal was Carmelo Anthony was coming back to the Knicks. And everyone wanted to know, hey.
How is this going to jive? Are these guys going to fit together? Is Lynn going to be able to get him the ball? Is he going to be able to score? Didn't work out so well. The Knicks lost 100-92 to the Nets. Lynn played great. Again, 21 points, 9 assists, 7 rebounds. Carmelo only scored 11. But they were talking to Jeremy Lynn after the game, and he said it's very important to get all these pieces to fit together. You know, we're not in panic mode because it's, you know, it's... No, it doesn't just work like where people show up and then all of a sudden you have great chemistry. So we're going to have to work through some struggles. But, you know, we'll be as long as we are all committed and buying in, we'll be just fine. Yeah. And I think they will be as well. But, yeah, like I said, Linsanity could not deliver last night. They lost 100 to 92. Well, you can't win them all. Can't win them all. Come on. Exactly. Poor guy. Linsanity at an all time high. Oh, yeah. And. You know what else is going to be at an all-time high? Talk about these two. Chris Brown and Rihanna are back together officially. Wow. Gosh darn, is this going to, this is going to set back, it's going to really set back the whole domestic violence. Right. You know, I mean, unless the guy's changed, I'll tell you what, if anything bad happens in that relationship, it's going to be really bad, man.
If he does something again. But they are on each other's songs. And they tweeted over the weekend that they're back. Her song is called Birthday Cake. His song is called Turn Up the Music. The lyrics to the song are, I can't even read the lyrics on the air. On his song? On his song, because they're so dirty. Oh my gosh. But, yeah. Chris Brown and Rihanna. Have her rekindled. So those Grammys work magic, don't they? I guess so. Maybe it's a big publicity stunt. Oh, man. That's so not a stunt you want to be involved in, I would think. Yeah. I mean, unless you're all the way, unless you're really in, that's kind of a crazy stunt. Seems more like she just loves him and can't help it. Yeah. That's what I think it is. I think so, too. She really likes a guy, and that's that. Man. I saw one of the coolest. documentaries over the weekend. Weird. It's so weird. About the Costa Concordia, the cruise ship. And they were talking to people, interviewing people that were on that ship. And they had audio of them ordering the guy back onto the captain, the cowardly captain. Wow. Chicken of the sea. Yes. Chicken of the sea. Chicken of the sea. He is screaming.
At this captain. And when you translate it to English, it's hysterical. He's saying things to him like, are you being a little baby? Oh, wow. Wow. What is the matter with you? Are you a little baby? You cannot get back on the ship. I am telling you, I will make your life a living hell. Wow. He's just screaming at him. And he will call him. by his last name as he's asking every question. So he's like, Castiglione, are you a little baby? Castiglione, you will not get back on the ship or what? Oh, it's the greatest. Where'd you see it? It was National Geographic. Already did a special. Yeah, they wasted no time. Hell yeah, got right in there. But I was, you know, I wanted to know everything.
So what didn't we know? Well, what we didn't know was that the maneuver that he did where he came close to the shore is something that they do to thrill people that are on the boat. It's supposed to be very thrilling to go so close to land. I bet it was. Well, for me, yeah, no kidding, right? I don't really get it. I'm like, why is that a thrill? Why do I, as a person on the boat, Why is that really super cool? Well, what they said was, because what they're used to seeing is just the sea. That's it. You just see, you know, the horizon. Just a vast ocean, yeah. So it was supposed to be really cool to go close. The problem was he was on a reef that he didn't know about. Oh, gosh. And the reef was only 25 feet underwater. And so...
He opened the thing up like a tin can. Holy cow. Opened the side of the boat up like a tin can. The other thing that I didn't know about that boat, I knew it was a big boat. What I didn't know is that it was like one of the biggest. I mean, it was really big. Massive. Yeah, like. Picture the biggest cruise ship that you've seen docked here in San Diego. That's how big that thing was. And for whatever reason, I thought that it was a little bit smaller. I don't know why I thought that. Yeah. Didn't they say it would take like a year to get it out of the water? Something insane. Insane. That's a big old ship. They had so many more pieces of footage aboard the thing. And the other thing that was striking. They didn't. You know how most cruise ships, you've done a cruise before, right? No, never done a cruise. Never have. Uh-uh. Anybody on our show ever done one? Have you ever done one? I did one with you. Yeah, that's right. Yeah. LLB, ever been on a cruise ship? No, thank you. Never. Jay, what is the first thing they do as you're leaving port? Safety. Safety. They do a safety briefing. It's the first thing. And it's kind of a whip.
It's kind of a beating for everybody. Yeah, you want to go get a cocktail and go start gambling. You do. When you get on board, the last thing you want to do is go through all the safety things, but you have to do it before you're, I mean, as you're pulling out their teaching. Sure. They didn't do that. That's crazy. Yeah, their plan was day two they do that. On the second day, they give the safety rundown, but they didn't. There was no safety inspection, nothing. They didn't tell anybody jack. So when they said report to what they call your muster stations, people were like, what's a muster station? Oh, my gosh. They didn't know. It's crazy. They hadn't gone over a safety procedure. The other thing that was crazy about it was it wasn't until the ship was starting to turn at that sick angle that they actually said abandon ship. Up until that point. Up until that point, they kept telling people, everything's fine. It's a power problem. Everything's under control. Why? Why would they do that? Because they're jerks. It wasn't until the thing started to lean and go sink that they were like, abandon ship, abandon ship. Oh, God. Oh, boy. Up until that point, everything is fine. It's all under control. We got to this. Did they just think it was going to be okay? I guess so. Man.
I guess they thought they could get it all under control. In fact, the captain was worried about what he'd done, so he was telling the Coast Guard, yeah, we're not sinking. We're not sinking. It's just a power problem. Golly, stupid. Yes, stupid. And I guess it was because he was so freaked out and scared. Yeah. Do you think they would be stronger, though, the material that they're made out of? Well, I agree with you. You would think that they would be able to withstand, You know, hitting a coral reef. But they're designed that they can actually take water in two compartments. He tore three. He tore three compartments open. Oh, my God. The size of an Olympic-sized swimming pool. That's how big the gash was. He just kept going. Well, you can't. There's no break. Oh, my God. You know what I mean? The only reason that it stopped is because it, on its own. Did he look pretty cowardly?
In this documentary. Oh, yes. Oh, yeah. It was just fascinating talking to all the different people, the people that worked on the ship, all that stuff. Oh, fascinating. So if you would like to play Catch Phrase with us, call us now. And at 7.30, L.O.B. is going to tell us all about getting engaged. Don't go anywhere. I always have to look my sexy. M1 Diet Coke heads on the line. Hi. This is M1 San Diego. Oh, sorry about that, man. I'm sorry. Go ahead. You know you're having your surgery today. Yes, sir. You can't have a Tic Tac. You can't have a piece of gum. You can't have anything. Well, I'm not supposed to eat or drink. I know I'm not supposed to eat or drink. And they say that the reason that you're not supposed to eat or drink is they don't want anything in your stomach so you get sick and aspirate. So I understand that. And they say that you could take your medicine, but you have to sip just tiny little bit of water to take if you have medicine or something like that. Well, I just had my gallbladder out, and right before they take you into surgery, they ask you if you had any sort of gum or anything like that. Yeah, any surgery. It's any surgery. You know, this ain't my first rodeo, pal. I've had a couple of these, and you shouldn't eat or drink, and that's a true story. You shouldn't. I did it. I forgot that I had surgery the next day. I had reconstructive elbow surgery and a nose job the same day because when I got mugged in Chicago. And I forgot that I had surgery. I woke up in the middle of the night weird and was hungry and ate like a half a bag of Doritos. And then in the morning I was like, I got nacho cheese all over my fingers. It's not the first time that's happened either. And was like, oh boy. Oh boy, I ate. Now, here's the deal. I don't want to.
put the word out there like, hey, people, eat and drink during surgery. You shouldn't do that. No, I know. You're not supposed to. But I was okay. Congratulations, Ainge. Oh, thank you. I'm very happy for you. That's right. Thank you very much. L-O-B, her nickname is Ainge. Short for Angel. Short for Angel. And she is engaged. Wow, feels really good. I am. It's a weird thing to say. Is it weird to call somebody Fiance Knowles? Fiance Knowles is hysterical. Hysterical. That's what I kept calling him all weekend. Oh, I love it. I like it too. Yeah, I like Fiance Knowles. Okay, so we're going to do the engagement 730. And right now we're going to do this. Oh boy. It's Halloween and Chase.

I talked to Matt on Friday, and he had a huge smile on his face when we were talking to him about getting engaged. And I should have known.
Aww. You should have been able to tell. I know. He was so excited. Like, he was just happy, and I couldn't really figure out, well, why is he so excited? But now I know. Now you know. There you go. I know a lot of things, too, now, looking back. Yeah. Yeah. Hang on the line. Hang on. All right. So we got a mind meld. What's the prize here? The prize is a $50 gift card to Dave & Buster's. Check out their daily happy hour, Monday through Friday. Eat, drink, play. There you go. All right. You ready, Woodsy? Yeah. Are we going to start? Yeah. Mind melt. Mind melt. Okay. We're mind melding. We're going to do places. All right. Places. Are you ready? Yeah. Oh, wow. It's sharp. It's this. Your elbow. Okay. And then we're in. Elbow room. Yes. Oh, wow. That's weird. Okay. A cat goes pee-pee in here. Glitter box. Yes. Oh, wow. Oh, gosh. The Ravens. Baltimore. Yep. Oh, wow. Oh, I think it's the corn state. Iowa? Yes. Oh, the corn state. It's this hand? Left. Yep. Left of center field. What's this hand? Right. Right. Left and right. Left and right hands. Left and right hand. Not and. Not and. Left right hand. Either. Either. Left right hand. Left right hand. Not and.
Left, right, turn. Left, right, turn. No. Left, right, left. Three words. Left or right. Left or right. How the hell do you say or? How can you say or? I know. You row with it. You dig it from the ground. I hate those. I hate those. That is hard. That's a choice. Team two gets one. He said neither. I knew what it was. No big deal. So we're team two then? Yep. All right. So we're up one. I'm going to stick with places. All right. Are we ready? Oh. Oh, okay. It's a river. A lot of people. Oh, she said it. Yeah. Look at you. Yes. Yes. Woo. That's a freebie. Idiot. You can't say the word. It was Mississippi River. Yeah. It was Mississippi River. All right. So what's the score? It's 1-1. 1-1. It's Mississippi. I blew that. And I gave away a point. We're going to keep it places. All right. Keep it places. One to one. Mind melding. We're mind melding. Oh, God. Just hit start. Come on. Just hit start. But it says the word she just did. Yeah, yeah. Hit start. It doesn't matter. First time playing. All right. Go. It's a place. It's two words. Okay. And we have it. It's up there. A break room. No. It's right near there. What do they call that area? The waiting room. No. The reception area. Where does she work?
Where does he or she work? It's called the... It's two words. The second word is a really rude... Front desk? Yes. Oh, I go out with my tools, and I will bang on this. Hammer away. It's like... Some people sit in it at a bus stop. Bench. Hammer in the bench. Tool bench. What do I do? I go to... Workbench. Yes. Oh, wow. Your stomach, my stomach. Big. This is also, no. You can fit as much in there as you want. It has no. Bottomless. Right? Bottomless. Wow. Okay. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Woo. How the hell did we get that? Darn it. You guys are team one? Yeah. Man. Yes. All right. There you go, Mike. Start it off. I really like this place, this thing. It's making me nervous. I really like it. You guys are doing fake bits, by the way. No, we are not. We have not done one fake bit. Here we go. Ridiculous. I've never heard this phrase. Perfect. Three words. Opposite of east is? West. Okay. West coast. No, no, no. That word is actually said twice in this three words. West meets west. Nope. West on west. This word, the middle word, sounds like the Stephen King.
book. West get west. No. West. The Stephen King book with Pennywise was called. Bit. And this word is like that. Bit. No. It doesn't rhyme. Lit. No. Oh. West or east. West or best. No. I don't know. I've never heard of it. Damn it. Uh. Come on. Keep trying. West or. West. I don't know. Gosh darn it. You're freezing. You're choking. Well but when you hear it you're gonna go I don't know how to. I wouldn't know. West. West is West. What? How would you describe the word? How do you describe the word is? I describe it in tie game two to two. All right. Tie game. Let's do it. Category is going to be everything. That's good. Switch it up. Everything. Here we go. By the way, what is West is West? Is that a phrase? It was supposed to be a place, right? Yeah. West is West. West is West. I think it means like.
Yeah, it is. Yes, it is. There you go. Oh, you sleep on these. A bed? Sheets? Yeah, but they're a certain type that is real smooth. Oh, satin sheets. Oh, wow. It's the opposite of break apart. Stay together. Or another word for stay is you put one on your gold star. You get a gold star. Place. No, you get a, you peel it off and you. Stick. Yeah. Stick around. Right. Stick around. You had the first word. I forgot. Stick what? Not break apart. Stay together. Stick together. Yes. Oh my gosh. Okay. This is a judge, a lawyer will say objection to the judge. Overruled. Yes. But take the past tense. Just not. Overrule. Yes. Oh gosh. Oh, we're dead. Pony tail. Yes, no. Pony tail. Exact same thing. Yes, no. I like that. Yes, no. Pigtail. Oh, no. You guys need to mind meld. Do it on the side, Mike. The side. The side, right? You guys are not meld. Gosh, darn it. And you can't scream while we're giving hits. I didn't. You did. You did. Okay, so what's the score? 3-2 them. 3-2 team fit.
M1 Sensimia from Oceanside. They only need one more to win for you. Hang on, buddy, okay? All right. Hang on. Gosh, darn it. Entertainment? And HB? Yes. Yeah. We got a lot of work to do for you, but we could come back. We can do this. I know you guys can't. Hang on. So we got to come back from... Yeah, we got this. Three to one? We've done... No, three to two. Three to two. We're doing entertainment. Oh, wow. Oh, wow. Here we go. Oh, he had bolts on his neck. Frankenstein. Oh, wow. Oh, you went there three times this weekend to buy your ticket. No, to buy your ticket. You buy it at the. The movie theater. You buy your ticket at the. Oh, yeah. The concession stand. No, no. HBO is short for home. Box office. Yep. The box office. Really, really skinny model. Kate Moss. Yes. Oh, wow.
This is a band that has a really stupid three-word name. Three Dog Night. No, no. It's like if something is... Give me a song. Oh, the last word is something that a child plays. Oh, yeah. Iris. Iris. Goo Goo Dolls. Yes. Oh, it's like a made-believe. It's like a political cartoon. It's like a... Yeah! We're back in it, man. We're back in it. We're back in it. Three to three. Sports and games. USOB. It's three to three. Don't break it. The next team to score. I wonder what the category will be. What are you doing? It's jacked up, dude. You jacked it up. I'm trying to get it stopped. Oh, no. Oh, God. Okay. Category. Category is sports and games. We got it. Weird. Weird. Ready? Here we go. Michael Jordan played for them. The Chicago Bulls. Correct. A slow bit. Yeah. Okay. I don't know what this is, but. Something blows. Win. Okay. And then it's not jelly, but it's like jelly. Another name. Jam. Yes. Win jammer. Yes. Wow. What are you doing? It's the biggest race in NASCAR. Indy 500. Nope. The Daytona 500. Yes. Oh, it's where you drop them all down and you have. Jax. No, it's like they're long. It's like you throw a dog. Pick up sticks. What? Pick up sticks. Yes. What?
Chris Humphrey plays for them. It's in LLB's home state. They're the basketball team. The New Jersey Nets. Yep. Oh, my goodness. Okay. If you want to hit someone on the butt in a fraternity, use a... Paddle. Yes. Oh, gosh. Oh, no. Oh, gosh. I dropped it on the board. This is something that people do. Jogging. We win. We're the big winner. Oh, that hurts. God, that hurts. What did you do? How about me? Dropping it. He actually dropped it. Holy cow. The machine actually came flying out of my hands. Oh, my gosh. I wish that we would have won, but that M1 Centimia.
Are you there, Sensimia? Yeah, well, guess what? You're a winner. Yeah. Okay, nice job. Hang on. That was my bad, Woods. Not good. Not good. Trying to control myself. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. Here at Woods, this next thing that we're going to talk about will actually be able to be something that you can relate to. What's that? Well, when... When your partner drives you nuts at work and you're at work and you want to avoid having an emotional breakdown at work. Been there. I've done that. Me too. Yeah. Yes. Now, what guy is proud of it? What girl is proud of it? No. You know what I mean? I get mad at myself. Yeah. At least you're a girl. You have that to fall back on and girls are more sensitive. That is true. More emotional. Yeah. As a guy, you have no excuse. Right.
So me and Woods, we are just pansies. Yeah. But basically, if this happens to you, if you start to have the emotional breakdown. It's the worst. You know, because you're a mad cry. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Woods has talked about the mad cry. The mad cry is where you're so furious that you realize that you've kind of lost composure and you lose it. Nice fever. Oh, wow. Well, what? Jezebel.com. That's a big work site. Okay. They say leave the room. I did. It's a good idea. Storm out. They say if you start crying at a meeting, don't try to fight through it. Oh, no. Makes it worse. Yes. Excuse yourself and then go someplace else. Now, the logical place to go is the bathroom, but it's not really very private. So go outside. Sit in your car if you have to. Go outside. Number two, compose yourself and don't go back in until you do. Don't think that you're done. Get it done. You know what I mean? Like get it, work it out. Make sure. And get your mind completely off it. Think about sports. Think about, you know, a truck full of dead puppies. Think about whatever you got to think. Remember that used to be the old phrase? Yeah, that was for something different. Yeah, it was.
Oh, yeah. Yeah, that's for something way different. Yes. Way different. Well, way different, but... No. Wow. Yeah. Wow. That was more... I can hear that. Yeah. We actually hear that. Wow. Excuse me. Number three is offer an explanation, but make it short. Don't go on and on. Just make it short. Say what happened, but don't try to get too in-depth about it. Say something like... Obviously, I have strong feelings about this issue. Gosh, that would make everyone laugh. I laugh so hard. If L.O.B. came back in and said, Well, guys, I obviously have strong feelings about this issue. Yeah, we know. We saw that when you stormed out of here in tears. Yes. I would come back in and go, Everything's okay now. Uh-huh. Yep. It's good to do. And we would be petrified. Yes. Number four, move past it. Do not address it. Don't bring it back up. Don't apologize. Wow. But bringing it back up as a joke, is that okay? Oh, yeah. You got to make light of stuff. I think you have to. Yeah. I would bring it back up as a joke. Don't make it a habit. Nope. Do not make it a habit. It loses credibility if every day you're like, oh, really? So that's happening? And then you leave, they're like, oh, look who's going to the cried wolf. Yeah. You can't have an emotional breakdown often. I mean.
It's okay if it happens. It's going to happen. It happens to everybody. It is the worst. When I feel it coming on, I'm like, you stop it. You stop it right now. You stop it. And then I get mad at myself for not being able to stop it, which makes me want to cry at myself for not being able to stop the first cry. Right. And then later on, you're like, why didn't I just say this? If I said this, the whole thing would have been better. I would have beaten everybody. Yeah, you start questioning. So Stephen Colbert last week took time off. It was because of his mom. He finally, he did like a, he didn't flat out say it. He just made reference to her. And apparently they have like a little thing that they do with one another where they put their finger on the side of their nose. He did that for her. I kind of feel bad about calling it a publicity stunt. No, it was not. It was not. He said, evidently having 11 children makes you tough as nails. He's the youngest of 11. Wow. So that's why he was off last week because he took two days off and they didn't explain why. We didn't know why. That's why. Is there a bit where we don't have to explain? Like, I think they should have let people know why he was off the air. Yeah. It's not bad to say that, you know, he had family issues and they, you know, I don't know why they chose not to. L.O.B. is engaged. Yes. And we do not know the story. All we know is that she has a giant rock.
on that finger. And what we're going to find out at 7.30 are the details. We're going to find out how Matt did it. So good. It's, she said that there's no way in the world that we could ever guess. And she said that one of the things that I thought was really interesting that you said, and it was a little telling, is that you said to me, maybe we could have Matt on the air. And you said, and we could have him on because, Mike, maybe you could ask him what his thinking was. Yes. Like, what his rationale. Exactly. Which made my mind go in a million places. What could he have done? I want you to dissect. Mm-hmm. And. Peel back. And peel back. Peel back the onion. I know him, so I know all the answers. Yes. It doesn't. It made complete sense to me. Yes. You guys will probably have the same reaction as every family member that we told. I'm titillated. I'm so titillated. Is it one of those things that this has not been done? I've never heard of it. Never heard of it. Never heard of it. I talked to our friend Sienna, who her mother is a wedding planner, and she said, I have never heard that. You are kidding. What a stud. Yes. Wow. Yeah. God, that little SOB. I cannot. Showing everybody up. I swore up and down. I was like, pfft.
I will see it coming from a mile away there. There's no way he will surprise me. He shocked me. Shocking. Oh, my gosh. Shocking. Wow. Surprise is not a good enough word. Because you can't get her. No, you cannot get her. Oh, God. You can't get L.O.B. I can't wait to know. I'm smiling just thinking about it. She got got. Yeah. Her voice is worn out from talking incessantly all weekend. Yep. How many times do you think you told the story? Oh, gosh. At least a dozen. But it was like... I, of course, being a narcissist, made it about me and wanted to know, well, when did you tell me? Was I like 50th? No, you guys, the three of you guys, Woods, Mike, Jay, you all got a text together. Yeah. Yeah. What number? What number were we? See, you want to know, too, you narcissist. No, I want to know for you. Do you? I think you were probably... No, no, no. Don't tell, because he doesn't want to... No, I'm just happy with my friend. Yeah. Okay. You are a monster. I only made a few... I only made two phone calls to actual friends. Really? Mm-hmm. I sent out the text, and then some people called me. But I was like, I just can't. I can't. Can't. My phone is dying. I thought about whether I should or not, and I go, you know what?
No. You just text her back and let her enjoy her moment, and I didn't call her. Yeah, I didn't. Some people had to, like, I sent the text to Sienna, and she's like, I have to know. And immediately called me. Yeah, that's Sienna. She wanted to know. I can't wait to find out live on the radio, and we're going to. We're going to find out live on the radio at 7.30. So, when we come back, we should answer this. What is your kid? Completely ruined of yours that's actually worth something. Worth some dough. 570-1949. Bye, gorgeous. Good job. 570-1949. TVZT San Diego. A Lincoln Financial Media Station. And now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. I don't like it when it's cheap. Lauren. I was a bit of a pyro when I was a kid. Woods. I haven't moisturized for days. Dying. And Jay. I'm an awesome beer drinker on the course. On FM 94.9. I played that for L.O.B. today. This song doesn't apply to me. Exactly. That's why I put it on there for you the last time. L.O.B. is going to be a married woman. And at 730, we are going to discuss how her boyfriend, Matt Commerce, her BFMC, asked her to marry him. Yes. L.O.B. Yes. First of all, you have to understand, and I need to put this out there, you know, quickly. Okay. That my social IQ at times can be a little bit low. Yes. And so forgive me if I ever ask something stupid. Okay. Because I'm.
Stupid that way. Okay. Sometimes. Is it appropriate to ask if you have an idea when you might get married? Or is that wrong? Should you not ask that? No, everyone's already asked me. I want to get married in the fall. Can I tell you what works best for me? No. Can we tell you, give you our schedule and give you some dates? Just preferences. It's just preferences. Nope. I don't want dates. I don't want to hear. And you work with those. I don't want to hear how it's better to have this. Length of engagement. I don't hear anything. Hey, let me tell you. I'm not saying a freaking word. Hey, I have been very supportive of my girl, L.O.B. Have you? Haven't. I've told her, whatever you want to do, this is your deal, and you do whatever you got to do in terms of work, in terms of everything. I've let her lay this sucker out.
To the extent of, I don't know what happened. I'm going to find out with the rest of the world here at 730. Correct. Woodsy, what is happening in spring training? Well, man, everybody reported, so everybody's down there. in Florida or in Arizona, having a blast. And, you know, the big name, obviously, in the offseason was Albert Pujols. And where would he end up? Ended up right here in Southern California with the Anaheim Angels. I guess they're the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, which rolls off the tongue, much like the Bangin' Burgers Bruins, which is my baseball team. But Albert Pujols showed up at camp yesterday. Actually, I read a funny story. He was the first guy fined. In spring training, his cell phone went off during a meeting. Oh, no. But this is him talking about him switching from the National League to the American League. The game doesn't change. You know, when I got into the big leagues in 2001, I didn't know anybody in the National League. So that's how I'm going to take it. Why is that not coming in? Albert's going to be just fine. Why is that not coming in? I don't know. Do you have it plugged in? Yeah. Sounds good, though. Maybe it needs to be plugged in this one.
Yep, it does. No, it doesn't. I don't know why. I don't know. Just hold your mic to your external. Oh, here we go. Oh, yeah. Albert Pujols' cell phone going off in a meeting. Yes, it is. Yes. And he was fined for it. Yes, he was fined. Also, I wanted to tell you that Kobe Bryant is a big, giant baby and was very upset about the fact that the Lakers may or may not trade Pau Gasol. Now, I couldn't find audio of it, but I have an imitation. Okay. This is exactly what he said. If they're going to trade him, I always think just effing do it. Just do it. He's not going to be able to give his all if he thinks he's going to be traded. Just do it, man. What? Just do it. Why can't he posture about what he thinks? Just effing do it, man. Hey, Mitch Kupchak, if you listen, just effing trade him. I show up. Is he going to be there? Is he not?
That's an identical Kobe Bryant. It's the greatest Kobe I've ever heard. That will hear and always be Kobe Bryant's voice. Thank you. When I do a Kobe imitation. Thank you very much. Sorry to Laker fans, but he's a big giant baby. Well, word around the campfire is that he... Word around the campfire is that he may... or may not be splitting up with his wife, Vanessa. Oh, they're kind of sniffing around back together. Giving away 60% of your dough doesn't sound real great, does it? He got the fireplace. That's what was left. In a bag of Kingsford charcoal. That's right. And all the ashes in there. Exactly. Jay, in a very characteristic Jay way, has capitalized on Lynn Sanity. Okay, Jeremy Lynn. Oh, yeah. And he has done a song for us. And the song is called Linsane in the Membrane. Who are you trying to get crazy with, S.A.? Uh-oh. Don't you know he's Linsane? To the one on the floor, on the timber, just shooting blam. You're in the frying pan, my man. Feeling done, then comes his slam. Damn, here comes a Linsane man. Don't make Lins wreck this. New York Knicks has got him going for a record.
And the flash bulbs are blinking. I'm thinking it's all over. Your team is stinking. No making Linsane slow. That's why V scoring 2-0. Bro, I gotta maintain. Cause a player like Lins is going Linsane. Linsane in the membrane. Linsane in the brain. Linsane in the membrane. Linsane in the brain. Linsane in the membrane. Linsane got no brain. Linsane in the membrane. Linsane in the brain. Not one word. Not one word. That's what made it genius. I didn't understand one word, and that's what made it genius. I was just reading words together. I heard a frying pan. Scale of 1 to 10, 12. Oh, yeah, absolutely. And I didn't understand one word of it, but on a scale of 1 to 10, 12. Holy cow, that guy. That was a hard one. And on Lisa from Lakeside, what was the word of the day? Fireplace. Oh, man. You are correct. Hang on the line. Thank you. That's right. Gosh, I wish it was 730. Oh, wait. Just wait. 20 minutes. We're almost there. Is Matt calling in? He said he's going to, yeah. And one of the things that LOB has said about it is that we get to ask him, so what was your, tell me about your thinking with this and how you, okay. So I get to tell the story, and then after the story, you can ask him.
I can't wait. I got to tell you, I tip my cap to that guy because he took a lot of grief from people. A lot of grief. That kid's got some thick skin, too. Oh, yeah, he does. He took a lot of grief from this one over here on my left. He took a lot of grief from me. Yeah. Well, all of us. We all did. He did it at his own pace. Nobody else saw the ring or anything before I did. Did he ask permission? Yes, he did. Wow. Son of a gun. Yes, both of my parents talked to my brother and sister. No way. Talk to your brother and sister. Yeah, well, they live out here. He kept everybody in the dark. Yeah. Even when he had to call his mom, his mom did not know it was coming that day. He likes to do things in his own way. He does his own pace. I tip my cap to him. I respect it. I would have done it a year ago out of fear. Yeah. So the question was asked, is this seven-year-old racist? Oh, wow. Mom in the UK. She gets a phone call. It says, there's been a racist incident involving your son. Now, this woman's name is Haley. She's 29. And the comment that her son made, seven years old, was he said to a black kid, are you brown? Because you come from Africa. Now, she comes down there. And when she gets there, she asks Elliot, that's the kid's name, what happened? He got very upset.
And kept saying to her, I was asking a question. I didn't mean to be nasty. And he was real upset about it. Now, his mom says he's an inquisitive kid. He asks a lot of questions. The school says, no, he was being racist. So the question is, what do you think? Now, I'm just going to play devil's advocate with you. Because everybody, I'm sure, is saying, well, it's completely harmless. And he didn't do anything wrong. Am I right? Are most of us thinking that? I believe it. Or are we thinking that he was being... No, I believe that his intentions were good, but how do I know? But I think that they probably were. That he was being inquisitive and... Yeah, just a kid. Just a kid. Okay, so I'm going to play the devil's advocate. What if he knew perfectly well what the deal was and he was like saying it, maybe we don't know the tone. And maybe he was going, are you brown because you're from Africa? Are you?
By the way, that identical UK voice right there. Right. It's my British accent. You sound more like Kobe Bryant to me. Yeah. So what do you think? Is there any chance in the world that this kid was, you know, he meant it to be mean and meant it to be racist? I don't think it makes him racist. If he knew full well and he was saying it, kids said to me, Stuff about my chest, about the color of my hair, about my eye color. Kids are just, you know. Kids are kids. Big on each other. Yeah, kids are kids. Not doing it because he does not like that race. What do you think, Woods? I think, you know, I don't know that that's inherently racist. You know, I think it's probably an inappropriate comment, but I think the kid's seven years old, he probably didn't know. Not only that, but racism, I believe, you know, involves hatred. Yeah. And, you know, the spirit of it has to be hateful. And if it isn't, then I don't know that that's racist. I mean, if it was my kid that said that to him, I would take him aside and say, you don't say that. You don't say that. That's not something that you say. Nor is it accurate. Meat has been grown in a lab. I'm going to say it again. Meat has been grown in a lab. Now, here's what they did.
This is news reports coming out of Canada. They said it actually happened in the Netherlands. But what they did was they took cow stem cells and they put them in a Petri dish. And then they were able to take small, they were able to create small strips of muscle. And now what they're going to do is they're going to combine that with blood and artificially grown fat and they're going to make a hamburger. That's hideous. Would you eat it, Woods? No, I would not. How much would it cost to get you to eat it? $5,000. What? But if we produced $5,000, you would eat laboratory hamburger. It might get to the point where you're eating it and you don't even know it. That's a true statement. Who knows what, you know, you eat half the time. Oh, that would suck. If you were eating some lab burger and didn't know it. Oh, God. Think about the burgers you used to eat at the cafeteria at school. They were disgusting. They're soy burgers, yeah. Tasted like cardboard. It's like caca. Yeah.
Or a caca. Yeah. One of the two. Did you think that when you heard the song Mean, which, by the way, is a Grammy award-winning song from Taylor Swift, thought she was talking about a what, what, what? She almost pulled her computer down. I was going to go save it. Oh. She was caught up. Did you think that she was talking about a dude? Yes, of course. She wasn't talking about a dude. As it turns out, Taylor Swift was not talking about a dude when she said, all you got to be is mean. What inspired you to write the song Mean? What inspired it? Well, it's a lot of people think that I wrote it about being bullied in high school. And when the song went out into the world, it kind of became that. But I actually wrote the song about. uh a critic who kept giving me really bad reviews and um like nothing ruins your day more than getting a bad review and then like and then there's like the scathing review which is kind of past constructive criticism and it's more into like i hate you territory yeah yeah which is like which is mean and i it really got me down like it's hard to believe that you would ever get that i mean i could see maybe somebody likes something but i i don't see you getting a scathing no i do though really yeah
But it's just like for me, it really got me down because I do get my feelings hurt. Like I never, you don't ever really get thick skin for that sort of thing. Well, I don't at least. By the way, I want to hand it to Taylor Swift for saying that. Yeah. That's real honest. And by the way, true, at least for me, I still have thin skin. Even after all these years. I mean, I've been doing this for 23 years I've been doing radio. It still hurts. If people say mean stuff, it still hurts. That's, you know, I thought it was kind of cool that she said that. So it really got me down for a long time. And like the only way I could get myself to feel semi better about it was to sing this melody in my head. Someday I'll be, you know, the chorus of this song called Mean. And then it won two Grammys. Well, that's great. Now I feel better. Vindication. Yeah, it's vindication because my wife likes that record. Taylor Swift record. And you like it. And I like it. It's okay. I like Dear John. You went to the concert. I took my wife. You push your wife out of the way so that you can smell Taylor Swift. That's actually true. That's true. So you can get a picture and get close to her. Gosh. Most people would be listening right now thinking that's a funny joke. It's not a joke. It's actually not a joke. It's actually a documentary. It's a documentary. Because it was documented. Yes.
That's also true. I wanted to tell you also that I watched her performance in the Grammys. Yeah. And she did her bit that you described. Oh, gosh. She did her bit where she stands and she looks wide-eyed. As the audience is freaking out. As the crowd is freaking out. And she looks and she puts her hands to her mouth like, oh, my gosh. She can't believe it. She did it at the Grammys. Yeah. That's her bit. What did you think of it? That it was weak. Why does she do it? Stop doing it. Stop doing it. Do it if you mean it. Yeah. If you're really surprised that they're clapping for you. then okay, I get it. Yeah. But the feign. Yeah. The feign surprise. She's trying to maintain that she actually is still surprised. She says she is. She said on 60 Minutes, she said, I'm really, every time, I'm really, they said, really, every time the audience freaks out, you're really surprised at it. She goes, yeah, I'm really surprised. Well, they did a parody of her on SNL. Kristen Wiig played her. And Kristen Wiig walked in the room with her hands over her face like this. Meeting Beyonce's baby. Meeting Beyonce's baby. He's like, oh, oh. I didn't say a word, just all the way across the screen. Oh, that's great. That's her bit. It's funny because it's true. Here is an email that we got. You can call in about it, but we're not going to take that many calls because it's going to be 7.30 soon.
We're going to find out how Matt did this. Can't wait. So fun. I cannot wait to hear how this all went down. LOB is engaged. It's a banner day on the Mikey show. Yes. And she will not tell us when it's going to happen or where it's going to happen. We don't know yet. We don't know. We'd like to put some things on our calendar. Yeah. I mean, I'd like to offer some suggestions, but I've been told that those suggestions aren't appreciated. I don't want any suggestions. Kauai is lovely. It'd be great in the fall. It's your thing, though. Don't worry about us. I know. I'm not worried. Listen to this, L.O.B. She was a little worried. Kind of worried. Hey, Mikey, I have a question for you married folks. Guess who's going to? Be able to participate in that very soon. Yeah. How and when do you have time for sex when you have kids? I'm 22. Oh, no. I live with two roommates, and it's awkward enough with them. Can't imagine with kids in the house. M1 hug life. It's a grown-up question. You make time. You make grown-up time. It's called grown-up time. You've got to make grown-up time. It's called sexy time. Sexy times. You can call it grown-up times, sexy times, whatever you want to call it, but you've got to make time. They have to be asleep. No. Yes.
The kids? The children? It's called a lock on your door. Yeah. Yes. I believe the kids should be in Cincinnati. Absolutely. Oh, come on. Oh, gosh. TV on. Door locked. Jay is anytime, anyplace. It doesn't care. It doesn't matter. It just... Hey. Why should it matter? It's natural. His kid could be sitting at the foot of the bed eating a bowl of cereal watching cartoons. No, that's not true. It's natural. That is not true, Jay. That is not true. They can't be sitting on the bed. That's just weird. They could sleep on the bed. Well, on the floor. They could be sitting on the floor. Yeah, if they were asleep or sitting on the floor, that would be fine. If they were asleep, that'd be fine. That's freaking hideous. Have they ever been in the same room? Of course. See you later. I mean, you got to go camping, right? Is that slang for something that I don't know? You're in a tent. The kids are all asleep. Is that slang? Yeah, you gotta go camping, Wood. Every once in a while, you just gotta go camping. What is that? What is camping? Tell me. Literally camping. Yeah, you're camping in a tent. Yeah, can't you wait until you get home? Wait, wait. You wait. Can you wait? Why would you wait? What are you, 16 years old? They're not gonna wake up. They're not gonna wake up. Go to prom? He has a libido of a 16-year-old man. You can't wake a kid up. Do they know that that happened? No. They do now. Oh, gosh. Oh, oh.
Or you can just go out in the woods right around the tent somewhere. He's 16. He is 16. Can you imagine being a groggy-eyed 10-year-old going out? Look at mom and dad aren't in the tent. And then you see two butt-naked figures in the woods. No kids getting out of that tent in the middle of the night without talking to you first. Well, they can't. They don't want to interrupt. Yeah. You're far enough away. They're not going to hear it. Or you're right there with them, and they're in the same tent. Yeah. You change your beliefs. Listen, there are commune hippies that think that that is bizarre behavior. And over the line. They think that that's over the line. Like hippies that grow their own beets and carrots. Yeah, and they're like, that is too far. You need privacy. Yeah, you need privacy. It's really weird. That's no way to live. It's still like a pillow barricade so they can't see through it. What's a pillow barricade? What is it? What's a pillow? A pillow? A pillow barricade, Jay.
Can't you just wait? I'd be so scarred if I woke up to that. Well, of course you would. You just don't. Just wait. You just got to be real quiet. Why can't you just get home? Just wait until you get to your house. You might be on a week-long vacation and camping in a tent somewhere. I can't be away for a week and not have it. Man's got needs. Why don't you get two tents and one for the kids? Because they're too little. That's why I bring a generator for my Xbox so me and Adam can still play. And you can hold out for a week. I can't. There's two things you can't hold out for, sex or playing War of War Duty with my friend Adam. Wow. Those two things cannot be done. I can't believe that he's made sex to his wife in a tent with this kid in there. It's one of the filthiest, dirtiest things I've ever heard of. So do you do that, Mike? No! You carve out adult time. Yearly. Yes, but you don't. Unless it's leap year. Twice leap year. Such a monster. It's leap year this year. Good for you. Hey, good for you, Mikey. Tiger you. When we come back, we get to hear about L.O.B. She's going to tell her story and we're all going to get to find out how she got engaged. I can't wait. Part of the Mikey

And then it'll be HMC. Husband Matt Commerce. Husband Matt Commerce. But if you haven't heard... L.O.B. got engaged over the weekend. And so, yeah, she's engaged. I am. And we are going to hear the story for the first time right now. My fiance called in, but Jay hung up on him. So hopefully he will call back. All right. OK, so it started after the performance on Friday. Friday, we had our House of Blues performance. Yep. And I was.
Daisy was my stage name. Matt showed up with a bunch of Daisies, and he was just grinning ear to ear all. So I just thought all day he was grinning because of that. Because I was like, oh, yeah, he was, like, really, you know, happy about it. We went to lunch. My cousin was in town from New Jersey. So we went to lunch. It was, you know, my brother, my sister, my cousin, me, Matt. Guy cousin, girl cousin. Guy cousin. Got it. And I went to walk with my nieces, like, kind of being. like finicky for a bit. So I went to go for a walk where I guess apparently he was like, all right, guys, I'm going to do it today because he almost did it on Valentine's Day. He decided not to, went with the vibe of the day, did not go with it. I, aka in between the lines, was in a foul mood on Valentine's Day. So we went back to his house. I kept being like, I'm so tired. I think I'm going to take a nap. And he's like, Okay, okay. But I was like, you know what? I think I'm just a little bit too excited. So I get on Facebook and I'm answering all the posts. I'm putting the video up. I'm doing the bit. Meanwhile, he's like, babe, you want to go for a walk on the beach? Oh, God. Babe, you want to go for a walk on the beach? I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah. Sure, sure, sure. Hold on. I'm almost done here. And I'm posting.
I said, you know what? I'm like, I kind of feel like I didn't get to have the Bloody Mary at the House of Blues. I was like, let's go get a Bloody Mary. And he's like, already taken care of, opens the fridge, has like vodka, Bloody Mary mix, and olives. And he's like, let's have a drink here. I was like, oh, no, let's go somewhere and get one. Gosh, darn L.O.B. I know. I just kept throwing him like monkey wrench. But he did not let up like any. There was no sign that, like, anything was amiss, you know? And so he convinces me, like, okay, we'll go get one, but let's go for a walk first. It'll probably wake you up a little bit. Because I was exhausted, but I was also excited from what had happened at House of Blues. So I decided not to take the nap. Good thing. I would have completely ruined it. And we decided to go for a walk on the beach. We started walking with Bloody Marys. And somehow, randomly. So you do make the Bloody Marys. We do make the Bloody Marys. But we walk with them on the beach. Got it. We did not. Stop and go. Because I didn't feel like going for a walk. I was tired. Yeah. He convinced me somehow to go on the walk. But he kept being like, come on, babe. Come on. Because he was, you know, what he was doing had to do with the tide. And you didn't suspect. No. No clue. Okay. No clue. I was still, like, in, like, I had fake eyelashes on and, like.
stage makeup. And I was like, can I go out like this? Does this look ridiculous? He's like, you look perfect. So, you know, we go, we walk with the Bloody Marys. We're walking on the beach. And I started talking about how I was going to, when I got married, I wanted to wear cowboy boots with my wedding dress. I don't know why. Oh, because he had got me a pair of boots for Valentine's Day. And he said, are those cowboy enough? I was like, you know, I'm going to get some like badass pair. He was like, oh, really? So we started talking about that randomly. And then I had my boots with me. I'm taking pictures of my boots in the sand with like hipstamatic prints. He's like, wait a minute. Really? Question. Yes. You had your boots with you. Yes. You were walking in cowboy boots on the beach. Yes, because we had to walk on the street to get there. So once we got to the beach, I was holding them in my hand. Got it. Got it. And we walked up to a rock and there was a pair of sunglasses on the rock. And he's like, really, babe? And I'm like, hold on. Hipstamatic prints. And I'm like, take these. He has a plan, and she's just doing mids and just. Doing back flips. Anything she can to throw a monkey wrench in this thing. He's like, come on. But not being super nudgy. I'm like, I know, I know. Because I had, at this point, taken eight pictures of boots in the sand. Which I will show you those pictures. Poor guy. So we get to...
Kind of like the end of our walk and the tide's coming up and he's like, oh, I got to pee. And I was like, all right, well, let's walk back. And he's like, no, I have to go here. And I'm like, all right, we'll just go. And he's like, I can't. Like, let's go around to the other side because there's never anyone over there. I'm like, just go. I'll cover you up. Gosh, darn it. No, just come with me. Can you please just come with me? Just come with me. He's like, sure. He's like, well, now there's a lady. And I'm like, she's not going to see anything. Will you just go? So he's just he's about to go. And then some guy walks around the corner. We're in La Jolla on the beach in La Jolla. And we're right past the pier in La Jolla Shores, just north of the pier in La Jolla Shores. And he starts to pee. I'm like, did you do it? Did you do it? I'm on lookout. And then he's like, what were you saying again about your boots? Do you want to wear like cowboy boots? I'm like, yeah, I was thinking. And I start like describing how the boots will be on. I turn around. This is unbelievable. I turn around. Matt is. Hopping out of his clothes. What? Hopping out of his clothes, butt naked. What? What? What? What? What? What? What? Wait, wait. What? Butt naked. He's naked. He's naked. L.O.B. said to me, you could take one million guesses. You'll never guess how he asked me to marry him. She's right. Yes. He got...
naked he was hopping out he had already taken his shirt off while we were walking because it was hot so he had just like his jeans on I turned around and he is and this is like this is on the beach now granted there was not really anyone around but there were people on the pier who I'm sure saw the whole thing go down he hopped out of his jeans my jaw is dropped open by the way which is why part of the reason probably my voice is hoarse because I screeched At the top of my lungs. Wait, wait, wait. Pause, pause. In your brain, something computed. So what did your brain say to you in that moment? I thought that he was just like trying to be like, it's a beautiful day. It's a free bird. Let's just be free naked. Yeah. Has he ever done anything like that? Would it be in his character to, out at La Jolla Shores, do that? Not at La Jolla Shores, but we've been camping before and we know that no one's around us. But with there being people. No, not with people around. And not on the beach. I thought I was on a candid camera. I thought there was going to be a camera crew that was like, we knew, we knew the beach has been secured. It was a really bizarre moment. Oh, you mean you're...
Boyfriend naked was a bizarre... On La Jolla Shores was a bizarre... In the middle of the day. What time? 3.30, 4. 3.30 in the afternoon. What if he had gotten arrested? I know. Yeah, he had to register as a sex offender. A sex offender. Because he was trying to propose to his girlfriend. But you don't understand. I'm trying to propose. You don't understand. Yeah, as they're putting his hands behind his back. I feel like they would have maybe given him a pass, but he said any consequence was worth it. And he said, like, he got... He was naked, and in one fell swoop, there was, like, skin, and then he was down on one knee with the ring open. And so my mind is like, wait a minute. First of all, he's naked. What is happening? What the hell? And he said, he said, Lauren O'Brien, I kneel before you. I'm probably going to screw it up because I didn't hear any of it because I was like, what the hell is happening? Was he on rocks? No, he's on the sand. But we were kind of, we were in a little bit of like a pocket. Yeah. We were in a little bit of a... I can picture it. If there was people up on the pier, then they may have seen. But we were in enough of like a little nook that like... So while you thought he was going pee, what he was actually doing... Was getting everything ready. And disrobing. Yeah. Was getting everything... Well, wait a minute.
By everything, you mean he was getting naked? He was getting like, no, he wasn't quite naked. He was getting his belt undone and he was walking with, he had compression shorts on underneath his jeans. And stuffed the ring in there. Because he thought if he had it in his pocket, I would see it. It's a big wooden box. So he had it in there. And he got down on one knee and he said. Nude. Nude. Nude. Nude. He realized you're going to have to tell your kids one day. Mommy, Daddy, how did you... Oh, yeah. How did Daddy ask you to marry him? Oh, yeah. We already told our parents. I told them the full story because that's just Matt. He was mad. Yes. He's my hero. And he said, I kneel before you naked as the day I was born, and I ask you to be with me until the day I die. Oh, it just got me. Something like that. I just filled up with tears. Yes. So he was trying to be like... Vulnerable and... Worked. So sweet. And also funny and also memorable. So, yes. What a stud. Stud. If I had that guy's body, I'd be naked a lot. Because he's got a great figure. Well, I wouldn't wear clothes. Yeah. I'd just be naked all the time. Shirtless. Here. It was... Then I started laughing. I was, like, shaking with laughter. Because I was like, what are you doing? Naked. And so he's down on my knee naked and is like...
So, will you marry me? And I was like, yes, now put some clothes on. Like, in one breath, I said, like, yes, now put some clothes on. We have him on the line. Van is on the line. Hello. Hi, Matt. That's nice. Good morning. Hi, babe. Good morning. You nudist? Yes. Yeah, you're a nudist. You're a nudist. Nudist. Close to blacks. I'm a town pervert. Oh, yeah, you're the town pervert. He's the naked proposer. You're the naked proposer. Oh, my gosh. Outstanding. Outstanding. Well done. Well done. Thank you. One of the, I mean, no, not one of the. The. It's the. It is the most original way of proposing to a girl I've ever heard. I loved it. After he put some clothes on and we started walking, I stopped and I was like crying and I was like, I love it so much. I was like, it's so us and it's so him and it's just like.
It's original, it's funny, I loved it. It's absolutely outstanding. It's unbelievable. How the hell did you think of that? Yeah. You know, it's actually, I had a bunch of ideas, probably like a hundred different ideas circulating in my head, and I was just driving one day, and it just was like, yep, that's it. Brilliant. I don't know, it just popped into my head, and I was like, that's the one. If that were in a movie, it'd be the greatest scene in the movie. Yes. The guy getting naked, proposing nude. Yes, and I said, you have giant balls. And then I said, literally, you have giant balls. Yeah, my wife would vomit if I had done that. If that had been the way that I decided that I was going to propose. Oh, dude. We took a picture. Of him nude? Yeah. You guys are just... No way. You guys are just too...
Fetishist, nude sex perverts. He took the moment right before and then the moment right after. We will never show anyone the moment right after. Oh my gosh. So now the questions. What did your mother say? Ella B. My mom was laughing so hard. Did she know that that's how he was going to do it? No. I don't even think he knew until he decided he definitely was going to do it. She was like, wait, what? Wait, Nate? And then she's yelling to my dad, he was not. Her dad's like, oh, that's freaking awesome. He thought it was funny. They both thought it. My dad said, just tell him not to show up to the wedding like that. Oh, my gosh. Yeah. And then, yeah, I forget what I was going to say. I would have been so nervous I was going to vomit. Well, dude, I mean, Matt, in addition to being nervous, because every guy when he asks is nervous. Every guy. Except for Woods because he was hammered. But when a guy has a plan that he's going to ask, then he's nervous. So there's that. But then you had the added nervousness of being nude in public.
On the beat. On the beat. At 3 o'clock in the afternoon. At La Jolla Shorts. So, I want to know, what went through your mind? Because I asked LOB to tell us, like, what did your brain compute? What did your brain, what was happening in your brain? And what did your brain say to you, Matt, when she turned around? I was just hoping, you know, that she'd be happy because obviously it would have been really, really awkward if she wasn't feeling that, you know? Yeah. She could have been, like, are you freaking kidding me? This is how you proposed to me. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. Yes. Like, if she wasn't...
feeling that bit with him. Oh, my God. It would have been really... Imagine you're there nude. Yeah, you're nude. You're just nude. And you're holding a ring and just, you know, uncomfortably and awkwardly putting your clothes back on. Sorry, I thought you would like it. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I am taking it serious. I really am. I love you. You're putting your t-shirt back. I love you. I'm sorry. I love you. I was going to put it in a cake at Valentine's Day, but you were in such a bad mood that I thought... I thought I'd get nude on the beat. I love you. Matt, how do you feel now? I feel great. I feel good about the whole thing. Oh, my gosh, yes. How did you do it, dear? Yes, what did you do it, dear? Matthew, Matthew, start from the beginning and tell me how you proposed to your beautiful girlfriend.
It was on the beach. Don't leave anything out. It was just on the beach. That's it. Oh, dear. That's it. That's all that it was. Did you really become nude? I did. I was nude. Become nude. Yes, but I thought you said that you asked her to marry you. I did. In the nude? Yes, in the nude. And were you cited for it? I was not cited. There was no policeman around. You were not given an indecency? No. This is so indecent. Mom thought it was romantic. It is romantic. It's original. It's funny. It's great. Crazy. Dude, let me tell you, Matt. Home run. Home run. I tip my cap. Who would have ever thought that you would get naked? No one. Nobody. When I told our friend Sienna, she erupted. She was laughing so hard. I can hear that laugh. That hearty laugh. And Todd, her husband, asked a very inappropriate question. When I asked Matt, he goes, I thought about that. Tying the ring. Yeah. Yeah. I thought about it. I thought about it first. Oh, but he said he thought about it. That would have been. Oh, boy. I would have laughed. No. That would have been wrong. No way. You can't tell the kids that. I would have left that one out, but that would have.
The whole thing made me laugh. It was just amazing. Oh, wow. That is... That's how you met her? The second time we hung out. The second time you hung out, L.O.B. was skinny dipping? Way to throw me under the bus, man. Sex perverts. You guys are just two perverted perverts. Perverted. Nicely done. My goodness. Me and my girlfriends. You guys just can't stop being naked. Somebody took my clothes, Matt. Oh, that's great. How's it feel to be engaged, man? Perfect. It's awesome. I'm loving it. It'll pass. Congratulations. Congratulations. Congrats, Matt. Thank you. It's great. It's incredible. Thank you, buddy. What a stud. My fiancee, Knowles. Your fiancee, Knowles. Naked proposer. Our friends gave us a card that night that was like the naked truth you two are meant to be or something like that. I'm like, that's it. All the bits. Naked, naked, naked. I mean.
Your naked Matt Commerce. Yeah. Probably serve naked Jews at the wedding. Oh, yeah. You should do a nude wedding. Yeah, that's true. There is just so many layers of that onion. I know. It's so great. I can see himself in his car when it popped in his mind. He's like... I got to do it. I got to do it. And just the amount of psyching up that would have taken for me who's got some breasts. The stress. And the belly. And then, like, the looking around. Oh, my God. And then, of course, you know, Kathy difficult over here. Now I want to take pictures of my freaking boots. I'm like, come on. Tide coming up. Hey, Ansel Adams, let's go. He was trying to get around a particular corner, which also happens to be, like. Part of Black Speed. Right. You've taken five photos of your boots. I was taking pictures. I was Facebooking. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Hurry up. Come on. Come on. This thing was over at 1030. Oh, my gosh. I can't believe it. Imagine if a cop had to just. Oh, God. I'm so sorry. Oh, gosh. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm trying to propose. I'm just proposing. I'm proposing to my girlfriend. That's all I'm doing. Yes, I'm wearing sliding shorts, but it's to hold the ring in.
So rad. I could not believe it. You there. You there, the naked one. Come here. You should have seen my face. Oh, that's the thing. That's why I said, what did your brain say when you turned around and saw him nude? I was mad at him for doing that because I thought he was just doing it because it was a nice day outside. My eyes were like the size of golf balls. I screamed. Oh, my gosh. I'll never forget like the sound of my... It was so, it was probably why I lost my voice. It was so high pitched. Oh my gosh. And then the ring came out so my eyes got even wider and I was like, what in the world is happening? I'm surprised you didn't have a heart attack. I know. Because all of that stuff is like heart attack stuff. I prompt, like when we started this thing, this story, she was saying something like the tides had to be right. Yeah. And I'm like, oh, he did like some bit where it was in a bottle or something. I'm like, yeah, great, great, great. Dude.
Blown away. Yeah. Blown away. I turn around. He's naked. He's nude. He's naked. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. So, well, that did not fail. No, it did not disappoint. Oh, my God. All right. It's nerve-wracking. Yeah. Adam, our phone screener and promotions director, is staring at me laughing hysterically right now. What's your problem?
You look fat in that chair. Yeah, he does. See? School of Jay. Go ahead and turn that. Todd, everybody's trying that right off. Well, so we wanted to do a couple news stories and sports stories, and then we have a best of bit we're going to play. It's the Incorporator. It's when I called in to, as a, I can't remember what voice I did, but we did the Feed Store. The Feed Store. I think you did the Jay voice. Probably Jay. Yeah. The Hillbilly Hayseed voice. So this I thought was interesting, LLB. I thought you'd get a kick out of this. Guess who is going to host Saturday Night Live? Alec Baldwin. No, he always does. It's your old pal, Lindsay Lohan. This girl, she's been waiting to get engaged for a while. Yeah. Been together a long time, four years. Four years.
And we've been talking about it, the old romantic. So when are we going to do it? Yeah, we're going to get this done. For like the past six months, pretty much. And not only have you been talking about it, he gets it both barrels from you. But then we have M1 Nation out there that likes to do bits and they like to go up to him in public and say, hey, man, when are you going to pop the question? Right, exactly. And I said to him about two weeks ago. Oh, it doesn't mean to be romantic anymore because I'm going to see it coming. It's just going to be like, will you? Yeah, I will. And I thought for sure there was no way he was going to be able to surprise me and be romantic. That was the number one question on Friday. Everybody's like, hey, when are you going to do it? To his face. To his face. Yeah, to his face. And he showed up. People were saying like, oh, I wish you would have proposed. I saw this on Facebook before he proposed. Oh, I wish you would have proposed. Like at the venue, I'm like, I would have killed him. Killed him. You're not a big. public appearance. You don't want the spotlight right on you when it comes to something like that.
Because you're a stand-up comedian, you don't mind being in the spotlight. Yeah, and even when I'm a stand-up comic, I'm like, if the laughs get too big, I'm like, oh, I'm sorry. Oh, God, oh, God. Well, he was sweet, though. He brought you flowers, brought you kombucha. He did. He brought me a kombucha. He didn't bring me one. And Daisy's my favorite. And my name was Daisy. And he was just smiling all day. And I thought, oh, wow, he really must have liked that little outfit. Who didn't? I got a text from L.O.B. at, what time was it? About 5.30, maybe? 6? About then, yeah. And it's just a picture of her hand with a ring, and it says, I guess he liked my dancing. Yes. And I was like, I go like this. I was going to propose to you. And Jamie, my wife Jamie goes, Ella B's engaged. Just like that. She knew. Just like that. Oh, my gosh. Yes, it was pretty shocking. Congratulations again. Thank you. We're all very excited. We can't wait for the wedding. Yes. I'm there to be a bridesmaid for you. Okay. You had two large landmarks in one day or an usher. I did. I know. It was so overshadowed. The engagement overshadowed that amazing dance that we did. Oh, my gosh. Those girls. Those girls. I want to thank Nikki from A Bit of Burlesque. Or A Bit of Burlesque. No, A Bit of Burlesque, which is also the website. Gotcha. She choreographed that. Was that not?
Above and beyond. So sexy. What you guys were expecting. So sexy. I didn't think it was going to be that sexy. I was like, oh, it's going to be a whole, my God. There was a lot of skin showing on the girl. There was a lot of skin. I saw cheek. Yes. I saw some cheek. There was cheek. She made an exception. Usually Nikki doesn't like cheek to show. I saw some cheek. Thank you for the cheek. Thanks for the cheek. Somebody mentioned to my wife, Jamie, they said, how do you let him? Because I was on stage with all the girls. Yeah. And I was doing bits with her that she did not appreciate. And I said, babe, I'm working. I'm working. This is my job. I have to work. And they said to Jamie, they go, how do you let him do that? I would be divorced. Yes. I'd be furious all the time. My boyfriend, Matt Commerce, now my fiance, Matt Commerce, FMC. Your FMC. He came and he said the change in the room from the audience was palpable. He said it went from like, we're all laughing, having a good time. And then we took the stage in the dark and marched across. And you guys could kind of see our silhouettes. And he said he was like, oh, boy.
Oh, boy. He said everyone just got like, they held their breath. Until my first mistake where people kind of like laughed and clapped for me, then I think there was like a tension because everyone was like, oh, my gosh. You couldn't even tell you made a mistake. The only reason you could tell was because of your face. I started laughing. Yeah, you started laughing. And that's the only reason I knew because you couldn't just look at one. It was a buffet. Right, exactly. It was incredible. It was a fun day. Thanks to M1 Nation. Thanks to House of Blues. Everybody showed up and really supported us. And that was a blast. Well, if you missed it earlier, we were talking. about Linsanity. And if you don't know what Linsanity is, it's Jeremy Lin, point guard for the Knicks. This kid has come out of nowhere and became, you know, he's become an international superstar. And he's a good basketball player. And our friend Jay has taken advantage. He likes to take advantage of the hot topics. He does. And he does a parody. This is Linsane in the Memorane. And Jay, I just click this? Just click it. Who are you trying to get crazy with, SA? Don't you know he's Linsane? Hot Mike, hot Mike. He's right up close.
Cause a player like Lynn is going Linsane. Linsane in the membrane. Linsane in the brain. Linsane in the membrane. Linsane in the membrane. Linsane in the membrane. Linsane got no brain. Linsane in the membrane. Linsane in the brain. Linsane in the brain. I'm like a poet. Yep. I would love to see the words. I can give to you. I'd love to see them. Do you have them? Can we take a picture? I want to see the creative process. Because I found his list of me that said cats, flat chest. Old. It was a creative process. Drying up. Here are the lyrics to Linsane in the membrane. To the ones on the floor on the timber. Just shoot and blam. You're in the frying pan, my man. Feeling done. Then comes his slam. Damn. It's the Linsane man. Hey, don't throw those away. Oh, my God.
I got to keep those. It's a part of history. I'm so sorry. Those are historical. Historical. You can probably sell those on eBay. I will. Let's get right into the Incorporator. Jay, how do we do it? Do you have it? I have it. Okay, so this is the Incorporator. If you don't know what the Incorporator is, it's a bit that spawned from when I used to be in sales, making 100 calls a day. We'd get so bored. And we invented this game. My friends would give me words. I had to incorporate it into sentences and into a conversation sounding natural. It's one of our favorite bits. It's one of my favorite bits to do. This is the Incorporator where we call a feed store. Oh, yeah. You got to leave the room, Woods. It's time to do the Incorporator. So the Incorporator is where we will call someplace and Woods will have to. incorporate words that were given to us by M1s into a sentence or into a conversation. We're calling a feed company and I don't know what voice Woods is going to do. I don't know, but this is what you need to know as you listen to it. The person on the line can hear Woods, but they can't hear me. So I will feed him these words and he's got to incorporate the words into the conversation.
I always give him the first word. The first word is going to be catcher. The first word is catcher. So when he calls this feed shop, that'll be the first word. Again, they cannot hear me. They can only hear Woods. All right. So we had M1s call in a bunch of words. I'm going to give you those words so that as you're in your car at home, you can play along knowing that these are the words he's going to have to say. Catcher is the first word. Makes sense. Then luxurious, Morse code, sock puppet, iceberg, rocket fuel, ladle, and tuxedo. Good words. Yeah, some great words. He might make a face at sock puppet. He will definitely make a face at sock puppet, and he might make a face... No, that's it. What's a sop bucket, by the way, Mike? I messed that word up. Woods wasn't here, so I had to do it for him. All right, Woods, get in here. Come on in. Ready? I just heard L.O.B. cackle from outside. He did. There's a soundproof door. All right, are you ready for your first word? You get the first one. First word is. First word is catcher. Are you ready? Phones work now, by the way. You ready? Woods, not me.
This is Paul. How can we help you? Hi, Paul. My name is Bryce Torse. I was calling for a couple of reasons today. I am looking for a lot of feed. Okay. A lot of feed. You sound very busy. Are you very busy, Bill? No, I can help you out. Okay, great. Well, I just finished reading The Catcher in the Rye, and I was inspired. I was inspired, and what I want to do is take care of animals. So that's why I'm calling. Excellent. I've got a very luxurious home, but the yard needs some work before I'm going to bring some animals in. Okay. Now, how does it work? I'm a novice when it comes to taking care of animals. Now, what types of feed do you have, Bill? Well, we got everything from horse feed, poultry feed, sheep and goat feed, cattle and calf feed. Ooh, sheep and goat. Now, can I make an order online, or do I send Morse code or smoke signals, or how does that work? You can go on. We got a website, NC Feed, and you can just go right there, or like I said, you can do it over the phone. Just tell me what you're looking for. Like, what kind of livestock are you looking to raise? Well, you know, I...
Listen, I want real animals. I'm not going to do, like, sock puppets and things like that. I want real stuff. I want goats. I want sheep, obviously, and I want cattle. Okay. Well, you know, that's kind of for advanced people. I recommend kind of going for, you know. Maybe I start with a fish. Well, that's a good start, but, I mean, you know, if you're looking to get into the bigger animals, the bigger the game. Very much. What about iceberg lettuce? Would they be able to eat that or should I not try to feed them from my own refrigerator? I don't recommend feeding them, you know, regular people food. What about rocket fuel? No, I don't recommend rocket fuel at all. Now, listen, when I'm feeding them, Bill, do I use a ladle or like a big cup? No, no, no. There's plenty of scoops that we sell and we have in stock here. They're for the feed. You know, you don't want to ruin your cups and everything like that with the feed because there's plenty of, you know, stuff that they can eat that we really can't eat. Sure, sure. So we've got plenty of scoops and feed accessories there for you. Okay. Well, I'm going to need to change clothes. I'm in a tuxedo from last night. I was at a party. So let me change. I'll put my overalls on. I'll be in shortly. All right. Thank you, buddy. Okay, Bill.
Oh, my God. He was losing it to the whole thing. You know, he said, this is Paul, and you called him Bill the whole time. I did it on purpose. I was dying every time he said Bill. That's what was getting me, too. He was like, okay. Oh, my God. I didn't think you were going to get that last word out. That was so toughy. Oh, my God. That was fantastic. That's fantastic. That is fantastic. I'm wearing a tuxedo. I was at a party last night. So let me throw on my overalls. I like how he said, can I feed him rocket fuel? He goes, I wouldn't recommend that at all. Okay. Okay. All right, fine. Then I won't.
Oh, my belly hurts. Oh, man. Dude, that was good. I almost had to call it off. I almost had to give you the cut, cut, cut, cut. Oh, that was good. But I'm old woman. And that is The Incorporator. If you've never heard it, I hope you enjoyed it. Stop looking at me and laughing in there. That was a good one. What are you laughing at? Dude. What? The whole bit was amazing. You're not laughing at the bit. I know you. I know you. You look so uncomfortable. I am uncomfortable, you D. This is not easy, sitting in this guy's chair, all these buttons and stuff in front of you. Yeah. It's hard to not be me. It's hard to have to try to be like, hey, I'm going to lead this. It's not me, so suck it. Anyway, so that was fun. Yeah. That was great. Would you like to do a story on Marky Mark? Yeah, let's do it, Ella B. Do you want to tell us what happened? I don't, but I guess I will. Yeah, tell me what happened. Let's see. He wants to make his kids watch him get his tattoos removed. Wait, wait, wait. Yes, that's right. He says, quote, I've taken my two older kids to the procedure so they see how painful it is and what I have to do. Okay, okay, okay. I think it's smart. Why do you hate tattoos? Because there's no need for them. He's like.
Really passionate about his kids not get, like he is the poster child for do not get tattoos. Y'all gonna watch me get my tattoos taken off. No, I don't. Y'all gonna watch me. No, daddy. You're gonna watch me. No, daddy. I don't know. I mean, if your kid wants a tattoo, you let him get a tattoo when he's 18. He can do whatever he wants. No, you don't. I'll tell you what. It doesn't. It doesn't exactly feel good to get the tattoo removed. Right. So I'm sure he's playing it up. Styles change because the tribal thing around you or the barbed wire around your arm. What's barbed wire? Yeah, what is barbed wire? Barbed wire? Yes, what's barbed wire? It has little barbs on it. Oh, barbed wire. Oh, barbed wire. Yeah, so they go out of style. I mean, if you're not careful, you might get a softball, a flaming softball on your back. It's a son that I picked off the wall, by the way. He's referring to the tattoo I have on my back. I just wanted a tattoo. And I was in Austin, Texas. I was 18 and I was intoxicated. Yes, I too have a tattoo that I regret on my inner ankle. Yes. It's a giant rooster. It's a rooster. And I have already had like five procedures to get it removed. Painful? Yes. Is it scabby? No. It's not? No. At first, it kind of gets a little tender. I will say it did not hurt as much as getting the tattoo itself. Oh. But.
It does not feel good. Let's take this caller right now. It's M1 Adalia from South San Diego. I guess she was one of the dancers with you, L.O.B. Adalia, are you there? It's Dahlia. Oh, Dahlia. Pardon me. What did you want to say? Well, I just wanted to thank you guys for Friday. I mean, I'm still, like, on a high here from that whole experience. I know. I know. I didn't want to. I sent out, like, a little thing. That was. part of the thing that held me up. I sent out a little thank you note to all the girls and I was like, we got to get together. We got to do it again. We're thinking about maybe doing it again for like a meet and greet or something like that. Yeah, we definitely did. I mean, it was an amazing experience and, you know, we met such a great group of people and I was like really, I feel really lucky to have had, share that time. Yeah. You guys looked phenomenal. The dancing was unbelievable. We did a lot of boob-to-boob hugs. I got smushed in like...
Everybody wanted to take pictures at the end with L.O.B., and I made sure to weasel up right next to her. And then I was getting in the middle of two, and it was lovely. I got boobed in the air. And my wife was watching the entire time. She was like, you're just having fun, aren't you? My husband was in the audience, too, but he loved it. He had so much fun. I think we gained another M1 because he wasn't before. He better be now. Absolutely. 28-hour would be a great time to have the crew back together. Or if we did it here at this station, we would call it the Mikey-thon, and then we could do it at that. We have called it that the last two years. Thanks, Dahlia. Dahlia. Thank you, guys. Love you. She was right next to me. One of the girls right next to me. I could watch that burlesque. They did such a good job. Those girls were shaking it. And that was a fast song. A lot of the songs, when they auditioned, it was a slower song. We did a combination of the... slow, sultry with the shake in it. Very foxy. And that was a long routine. You said three minutes. Three minutes. I did it at least three times this weekend alone for my fiance. Here's this little angel. M1 Adrienne. We know who Adrienne is. This is M1 Adrienne from San Diego. Are you there? Hi, guys. How are you? I'm good. I just wanted to say congratulations, Lauren. Thank you, my dear. I was texting you literally like right before it happened. Adrienne did all the hair and makeup.
She did. For all the girls. Can you give us the information? Once I get those pictures, we have some pictures where, let me tell you, there's going to be some happy husbands, fiances, and boyfriends that get these pictures given to them. Once we have the pictures, you're going to see the hair and makeup. And I think I actually said to you that morning, if I ever get married, you're doing my hair and makeup. That's right I am. But you got those two after I did your hair and makeup. Yes. The hair was insane. It looked so 50s. And she did it all. She did 11 girls. In that morning. I call that a Friday night. Nikki from Bitter Burlesque did a lot of the hair, too. It was not hard to make you girls look gorgeous, and you were all beautiful and amazing and lovely. And can you give, because I gave such a great testimony. They're laughing because I said you did 11 girls. You guys are ridiculous. Yeah, I did. Can you let us know your website? Because I got it done so quickly, and you said, I hope you like it. And I walked over to the mirror, and I go, oh, my God. my gosh if i ever get married you're doing my hair makeup so can you give us like a but i'm just i'm marae femme art on facebook you can contact me there okay i will make sure i post it thanks my dear thanks for calling okay love you too all right feast we have to take a break okay when we get back we are going to talk about some real real fun stuff real good don't

You guys can all feast. This is I Shouldn't Be Alive and Suck It. I want you to call right now 570-1949 with your I shouldn't be alive stories. We started taking these last week and were shocked with the amount of people that were calling us with crazy stories that couldn't leave my mind. I couldn't escape them. The guy that called us and said that he had a 38 pressed to his forehead. Dude. Could see the barrel. And the guy that was standing behind the barrel. squeezed off around and misfired. And so then he put the gun down, shot him in the leg. Incredible story. Call us right now with your I shouldn't be alive stories at 570-1949. We've got some people holding right now that we're going to talk to. 500 cases of the norovirus have been reported on two.
Florida-based Princess Cruises ships. Oh, boy. 499 cases occurred on the Ruby Princess and the Crown Princess. The Poopy Princess. Yeah. They're both based out of Fort Lauderdale. Well, when you think about it, you all are eating the same stuff. Yeah. Holding the same utensils. With filthy water. Yeah. Yeah, you're grabbing onto this. To a spoon to scoop something into your plate that 900,000 people on board have been scooping with. And if they've got any kind of flu or whatever and you touch that spoon. Don't nobody go in the bathroom for about 35, 45 minutes. That's all I'm saying. Right. You've got to be very careful. Yet another reason. Yes. Not to go on a cruise. That's right. 570-1949 is the phone number. M1. Buzz is on the line from Claremont. Are you there, Buzz? Yeah. What happened to you? I grew up in a foreign country, Papua New Guinea, over, it's by Australia. Anyway, we were, it literally lived in the jungle. And for eighth birthday present, my dad gave me a bush knife. And so me and a bunch of guys are down at the river making a raft out of just trees.
knocking trees down, and I'm cutting the end off one of these trees, and it nicks off the end of the tree and goes right into my knee. Oh, wow. And at this time, we're about an hour away from any hospitals, anything. Oh, gosh. And so I had to hobble back to the house about 100 yards down a trail. Mm-hmm. hobble 100 yards down and there was actually a plane in the area and they said if there hadn't been a plane in the area I would have died. Oh my gosh. Bleed out. So they flew you from there to where? A small town called Wewak. Oh, Wewak. They're good. They're good there. There was actually a tidal wave there recently or during then it was recently and there was one suturing kit left and one surgeon who was supposed to leave that morning but Flight got delayed, and so he stayed there. What would have killed you? Bleeding out. Bleeding out. Oh, man. Bleeding out. That is insane. That's insane. Hey, thanks for the call. I love it. These are I Shouldn't Be Alive stories. Let's see. This is M1 Janelle from Pacific Beach. Are you there, Janelle? Here. What happened? Stories for you. Give me the best one.
All right. I guess it would be I went skydiving, and I had scheduled the trip to go on a Saturday afternoon with a boyfriend at the time that I was dating. He was graduating from Santa Barbara, and I get up there early on Friday night, so we decided to go on Friday evening flight instead. Everything was great. We had a blast. That Saturday morning trip that we had planned to go on, the exact plane, flight time, everything. Ended up crashing, pulling everybody on board. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Yeah, if we had ended up going on it, we would have been dead. The only reason that you did not get on that flight is because you got into Santa Barbara a little early? Yep. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. How does it make you feel after? Do you feel, oh, my gosh, I was spared for a reason? Yeah, and considering I have two other ones that are just as good. Okay, now I got to know. I got to know. You're too good. Got to know. I was 15 a week before my 16th birthday. I was held up at gunpoint with a friend, and the guy had the gun in my wrist at my chest, and I didn't believe the gun was real, and he's screaming, give me your money, give me your money, and I said, I don't have an effing purse.
Wow. And it was because you were sassy with him. I don't know if that was it. And then my other one was I was on a flight and we took in a flock of birds. And lost an engine, dropped a few hundred feet, and had to make an emergency landing. This happened right after the Hudson River, and our plane was one of the ones on the news. Oh, my gosh. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. You weren't the one that crashed in the Hudson. No, but I was one of the ones that was after the Hudson that ended up making on the news, speaking in a flock of birds. And let me tell you, it does smell like a burnt turkey dinner in the airplane when that happens. Does it really? Wow. Oh, it smelled horrible. Can you eat turkey anymore? I wouldn't be able to. Yeah, as long as it's not burning. Oh, man. You have had a very interesting... How old are you? 37. Man, you've had some stuff happen to you. Are you married? Yes, with a child. Let me tell you something. In some ways, I would be like, I hope nothing bad happens when I'm hanging around with you. You know what I mean? Yeah.
She has a horseshoe. You must have a horseshoe left inside of you. You're the luckiest person of ever. The final destination movie. Yeah. I'm a cat. I've got seven lives. Yeah, you've got six left. There's seven left, yeah. Nice. Did you end up breaking up with a boyfriend you went skydiving with? Oh, yeah. Oh, my gosh. What an incredible story. I love it. Thank you for the call, Janelle. Well done. Thank you for taking me. Have a good one. Thank you. Gosh, that is crazy. Ooh, this is a good one. M1 Pat from Carlsbad. What happened to you? Oh, this was quite a few years ago. I got the bright idea. I lost my keys. My keys were actually stolen. And I got the bright idea that I would hotwire my own car. Oh, no. I had to work. Mm-hmm. So I hotwired my car. I got in it, started up, drove to work, you know, windy road around cliffs and bays, pulled into the parking lot at work. When I pulled into the lot, I turned the wheel all the way over and the steering locked. So I could have locked, I think, any time, you know, when I was driving on my way to work. Oh, my God. I didn't think about the steering column locking. Oh, my God. The steering column locked up on you and you were in the parking lot when it happened? Yeah, I'd already gotten to work. Oh, my God. Lucky. And you'd been driving down windy roads. Yep, yep.
Yeah, you shouldn't be alive. You shouldn't be alive. Not my lives. You should not be alive. I have a question. Yeah. How the hell did you learn how to hotwire a car? It just seemed to make sense. You know, it was an older car, and I pulled some wires out and put them together, and the engine started. It's genius. Off I went. Man. It's genius. You're a lucky man. I know that. You're a very lucky man. Thanks for the call. You bet. Well, we got a few people on the line. Please hold. We're going to come right back, and we're going to get to some of these calls about these new I Shouldn't Be Alive. Oh, no way. So we will be right back. Be a part of the Mikey Show now. Text them at 949mikey at gmail.com. Or call Mikey now. 570-1949. More of the Mikey Show coming up in minutes on FM 94.9. An open letter to the daily commute from a new BMW 3 Series driver. Back to programming in a minute, but first, listen to this. Seems the New York Mint is releasing to the public classic U.S. gold coins. There's a number you can call for free historical information and a free DVD. But first...

And now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. I'd have to wear Gene Simmons boots to go out with a tall girl. And even then I'd be shorter. Woods. And my back is not fat. My stomach is. Lauren. I have a Bazooka Joe comic collection. And Jay. I never said I could do a cold read. I said I could act. I'm an actor. On FM 94.9. Hey, welcome back. It's Woodsy. I'm sitting in. the big man's chair. It feels very weird. Actually, I moved Mikey's chair and I got my own chair to make myself feel a little more comfortable. And then you didn't turn my mic on so you could just be the only guy who's talking in here. That's what he does. You know what I did? What's up? I turned my mic on over there. Ah, weird. Gosh darn, L.O.B. You see me drowning here and what do you do? You step on my head. That's right. You get ahead of yourself over there. It's a wood show. Come on.
You guys, you're supposed to help me. Hey, where's your celebrity baseball game? That's right. Is that this week? It's not baseball. Oh, it's softball. It's softball. It's this Saturday. I'll get more details later on in the week because I know that you'll want to be there. What does that mean? You're a D. I'm just trying to help kids for charity. That was a reach. But you'll probably be riding bikes this weekend. So that's good for the community. We have had these calls on hold for a while. These are a couple of people that had some really crazy, I shouldn't be alive stories. This is M1 Catherine in Escondido. Catherine, how are you? I am doing good. Wow. Are you sure? Yeah. Okay. Okay. Yeah. Tell us what happened. Well, I went into labor with my daughter. And I wasn't moving as quickly as they wanted, so they doubled my epidural dose. Oh, that's not good. Oh, my gosh. And they made me crash. And what happens then if that goes down? What happens? Well, like I said, I crashed. My husband tells me that they gave me adrenaline. Yep. Holy crap. When she says she crashed, I mean, she went into, like, failure. Like, all the alarms go off, and the end is near.
Basically. And they had to give you an adrenaline shot. So they pumped her full of adrenaline to get her heart going again. Oh, yeah. I don't really remember a lot, but I'm told it was not good. And your baby was okay and all that? Everything came out all right? Yeah. No pun intended? No. I had fallen asleep after they gave me the epidural due to, you know, the pain going away. And when all the alarms started going off, I'd woken up just enough to say, is she okay? Wow. said, no, she's fine. You're the problem. You're the problem. Wow. Never stop saying that. Well, thanks so much for calling. Glad you're alive. Glad you're alive. Thank you. Me too. Bye. Holy cow. All right. M1 detail has a detail. Yes. M1 detail. I know this guy. M1 detail. How are you? What up, guys? What happened to you? Yeah. What's up, man? What's the tension between you and Jay? Are you going to kiss or what? What? What?
Come on. Well, first of all, I moved to Atlanta, so hello, San Diego, to all my friends listening. Wow. Secondly, all right, so this is what happened. It was a long time ago. It was a little part of my life, and we were on what you call a sick one and lacking sleep a little bit. We were going up to the mountains to clear our heads and try to, you know, clean our act up. And about four, we were going up to Lake Isabella, so it was kind of a far drive, and it was about four hours. And about three hours and 45 minutes of driving, about three o'clock in the morning, about five miles from getting to where we're going, kind of fell asleep at the wheel. And going about 60 up on this road, and I see Welcome to Weldon, where we were going, when I opened my eyes, which means I was off the road. So I jerked left to get back on the road, freaking out, overcorrected. So we started sliding sideways down the road. I went to shake my buddy up, and out of his side, out of his... window you see the yellow stripes going down the road so we're completely sideways oh my gosh and the front passenger tire you know because we started veering over the left other side of the road had caught in a little like drain ditch which just put us into a big old like cartwheel we were in a little tacoma none of us we didn't have no seat belts on we had no socks no shoes you know we're
On a real, you know. Yeah. Wow. Yeah, we get it. I believe that. Shut up, Jay. And, yeah, we ended up going like six or seven times, flipping. And we missed trees, telephone poles, two cars, a big, you know, propane tank. You got to have propane out there. A dog tied to a tree. And we landed on our side, and a lady comes out freaking out. Yep. But, yeah, she, yeah. Kind of clean up our act after that one. I'm glad you made it, and do not party and go drive. Yes, let that be. Have you never drank? That's like 15 years ago. I mean, that's not even, you know, I was real a long time ago. Have you not ever touched a drop and then drove again? No, don't drink and drive. Don't drink and drive. Okay. Thanks for your call, man. Appreciate it. Ciao. All right. Hey, so we've got some new releases that we wanted to get to today. Out today. I know you'll be very excited, LOB. The new Sinead O'Connor is out. Here's a taste. Okay, no. Sounds like her, though. Yeah. Very Irish. That's not bad. Yeah, great. Not bad. You're out on it. Out. We just hate Sinead O'Connor. No, I don't. All right, the new Sleigh Bells is out. Everyone's very excited about this album. They killed it on SNL this weekend, I heard.
And then do you guys remember a band called the Chieftains? Remember those guys? Yeah, they got a new record out. Hopefully it's as great as all their other ones. This one has all these featured artists. Oh, perfect. The Civil War. Featuring the Civil War. Featuring the Civil Wars, yeah. They want a Grammy. So you know it's good. If you're making stew with your family and everyone's like dicing stuff up, put on the Chieftains. I'm all in. I love stew. And there's some stuff out on DVD today, too. And it's at my desk, and I'm not at my desk. Well, thankfully, it's time to go anyway. It is time to go. Maybe we can kick off that 90 minutes, 94 minutes. Of commercial-free rock and roll tomorrow. We will be back, the three of us. It's going to be kind of a hybrid show. Mikey is out. But we'll be here bright and early at 5.30. Right. Mikey is out. He's having surgery today. He will be out tomorrow. We will be in doing the hybrid show.
Thanks for tuning in. And this is your old pal, Woodsy, your old pal, L.O.B., and your old pal, Jay, and your old Mexican friend, Adam, signing off the Mikey Show. We will be back tomorrow. The Mikey Show's out. The Mikey Show's out. Get. Get. I said get. You have to play the clothes. Get me out. You're going to play the music? Where is it? Up in the right or upright corner of your screen there. No, it's not up there. It is, too. It is not. I'm going to show it to you. I'm going to poke you in the eye. It's not here. You have to say the tagline. Oh, hey, here, this thing? Is that what we get leave to? Yes. All right, we'll be back in the morning feast. What?
