The Mikey Show - FM 94.9 - 03/31/10

Wednesday March 31, 2010
Woodsie wants a pen to gnaw on to start the show. Mikey thinks he can’t pull off boogie boarding, but Woods can. Comic Con is officially sold out and the girls tell of their past Comic Con experiences. Ladies bidding on fireman for dates is basically male prostitution according to The Kid, but Frankie likes the idea. Sienna reports on a woman who used identity theft to pay for facelifts and new “knots”. Lauren went on a run and found some evil balloons. Sienna’s pregnant!!! She’s due in August and is having a baby girl! This leads to name suggestions and M1’s call in with a few. Si wants something unusual and the gang urges her to obey her urges to chow down. Woodsie suffers from loud, partying neighbors and brings up worst neighbor stories in which M1’s have some doozies. Hoyle drops in to tell the show they need more “street cred”. Hoyle then busts out a slew of “Yo mama” jokes and beats Lauren in a freestyle! Bark Mauman’s comments cause a controversial talk about Sandra Bullock. Next is a blonde versus brunette debate and Mikey wonders what it’s like to be a hot girl. The girlfriend who snooped the boyfriend’s email from Tuesday calls in to defend herself and all is explained. Chris Cantore calls in. Mikey plays the audio of the British 911 call from a robber not liking it when others steal what he stole. Woods reveals his pooches were in his wedding and Sienna tells about the things your grocer won’t tell you. Tattoo likes that they put the sugar cereals low enough for him to reach. Frankie likes firemen.

KBZT San Diego, a Lincoln Financial Media Station, the new home of The Mikey Show, FM 94.9. I'm just going to get you your own jar of pens to chew on. I'd love it. Woods just said, right before I put the mic on, I started to say it, I go, I'll tell you on the air. Woods just said, anybody got a pen I can eat? That's what he does. That's what he does. Just get him a cup of straws. Yeah, that'd be fine. Would that work as well? Yeah, for sure. Because it's so not conducive with my sensitivities. What does that mean? Well, your pen chewing is not conducive with my sensitivities. Oh, yeah. Of your flip out if you, like, leave a pen cap off of a pen because it may dry up. I have.
Like what he did a minute ago, and he picked up his pen, and the clicker was clicked so that the pen was down, you know, so you could write. Just stared at it. He's like, why is my pen open? That's horrific to me. See, I gnarled pens. Like, I'm looking at your pen right now. It looks like a T-bone. Oh, stop it. We should get you, like, a pig ear to chew on. Like, dog. Seriously. Yeah. We should go. Yeah. If you go to the grocery store. At the pet aisle, they have like pig ears that you buy for your dog. I'm not chewing a pig ear. Why not? Because it's foul. I know what I'll do. Dip it in chocolate. I'll go to a leather goods store. I'll buy you like a piece of a belt. That'd be perfect. I'll cut the tip of the belt off. That'd be perfect. I'm like looking right now. I need something. Woods. Woods on sports. Oh. Woods. Woods. Woods. Woods. Woods. Woods. Woods. Woods. Woods. I love him. I do too. My pens are very important to me. And I have a thing about my writing implementation. Why are you looking at me when you say that? Because I know that that's going to make you laugh. I have a thing about my highlighters. I need the blue highlighter. Can you pass me the yellow? No, no, no. Not that one. It's got to be a Sharpie one. Really?
Well, it's one thing that I took for granted. See, I used to have all my little pens laid out for me like utensils. And I would have my little highlighters all perfectly, right? And now I come in and my highlighters have been chewed on. People are using your pens? Yeah, people are using my pens, which is like using my toothbrush. We're trying to break you, dude. You're doing really good. You're doing really good. You're handling it well. You're taking it well. flips me out is there are a bunch of writing instruments over here wrapped up in a rubber band. And I'm like, what is that mess? What about this stray cap here? Yes, there's a stray cap. That bothers me. Woods, of course. That's not me. That's yours. That's L.O.B.'s. But yeah. You're playing for everything. This highlighter belongs in a plastic sheath.
sheath that I have. It's got a holster. It's out of the holster. Oh, my goodness. It's going to be okay, dude. It's not. There we go. Everything's all right. You're really stepping out of your comfort zone. I know. He is. It's great, man. Beyond. It's great. It's time. It was time. So, check this out. Because of my back, because of my back, something wrong with my back, with my L3, right? Oh, yeah. For sure, L3? For sure. My fingers, when I move every once in a while, will start to tingle. Oh, dude. That's bad. Yeah. No surfing for you, pal. My elbow. Yes, there it is. No, come on. Nice. Look at the tough guy now. I love it. Well, because otherwise I'll say, well, I'm not going to do anything. Right. You know, then I won't do anything. I found it's good for my back. It is? I had a back injury. Yeah. I was in a car accident. Wrecked it up real good. That's right. But if I surf.
Then I build up my core muscles and everything around the L3. Nice. Actually helps. Yep. And by surf, you mean boogie board, which is what Mike and I are going to do. That's right. Yep. Everybody says that we are going to be the lame guys if we boogie board. I don't care. Dude, I'm 35 years old almost. And you know what, pal? Really? I mean, I don't care less. Really? Kid's done fine on his day. You're going to surf. You can't. You know what? He can. Woods can. Boogie board. You know why? Why? Because he's tall and handsome. And so he can get away with it. If I get on a boogie board, it's like, really, boogie board guy? Really? No way. That's the thing. I'm very torn just because being from here, like... People do not like the boogie boarders. They call them spongers, like get off the beach, sponger. I don't want to be a sponger. I don't care. You can be, though. I don't care. You can afford it. Boogie boarding is fun, though. Yeah, boogie boarding is super fun. It's fun, and it's not as much pressure. There's no pressure. You have enough tall bucks in your wallet that you can do that. I got enough chips. Yeah, you got enough chips. Tall chips.
It doesn't matter if you're tall. And honestly, it'll help you learn the way that the waves work if you start the boogie boarding first. Dude, I'm going. I don't care. I don't care. I wouldn't either if I was six foot one. Mike, I think that you're more likely actually to boogie board than Woods. Yeah, why? Because I'm little. Mike, why don't you just use the boogie board as a surfboard? Maybe they'll understand more. It'd be a long board for you, bro. I don't know. Here's the deal. I want to learn how to surf really badly and surf well, but there may be a day where I'm like, I just don't feel like getting my ass kicked today, man. I'm just going to get on a boogie board and just have fun with my friends. You know what I mean? It's closing out and you can't really surf, so it's actually more fun to boogie board. Yeah, for sure. Jay, have you ever boogie boarded? I have kids, so I've boogie boarded with them. Oh, Jay. If we can get Jake out there somehow. Let's have him sit on the beach or something. My stepdaughter loves to boogie board. Can we rent her? Can we rent them for the weekend? And then we can do our bit. I have some extras for you I can give you. We can do our bit of, well, we really wanted to tear it up today, but our kids are here and they have to boogie board. We've got to do it. Wood steals her boogie board. It's like a big bright pink.
Cubby just catching waves real good. I'm going to put that video up of the boogie boarding at the Wedge. It is intense. Oh, it's insane. It'll make you think boogie boarding is cool. Dude, I boogie boarded in Surfers Paradise, Australia. Boogie boarding on a 12-foot wave is a lot. I mean, it's fast. Wow. Yeah, it's crazy. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show. I'm 39 years old, and I have tingly fingers. What happened? It's a back entry. It's too bad. Oh, no. It's the worst. The guy across from me is Steve Woods, and he is 34 years old, and we call him the kid. Calls himself the kid. Yeah, I think he does, actually. Does he? Pepper O'Brien is the girl wearing the leopard print right next to me here, right? That's right. Wow, that is impressive. That is good. I can't believe that's coming out of his mouth. That's him. You should see his face when he does it. Yeah, and he puts the claw on. He is leopard. He uses his claw. Yeah, that's right. And Sienna is the girl to my left. And she is 24 years of age. Not for long. That's right. She's going to be 25 soon. And that's Jay over to my right and behind me and separated through glass. That's him. He's 46. And he is our producer.
And you can talk to him because he's also our phone screener for the moment. 570-1949 is our number. And our text, 949mikey at gmail.com. You can text us or call us. I'm picking the music that you're going to be hearing us coming in and out of commercials with today. Yeah. Here's a big story for you. San Diego story. Comic-Con has made an official announcement. Is that right, Sienna? They have. What is it? I'm sorry if you've been wanting to go to Comic-Con. They are officially sold out. Damn it. Yeah. So you cannot go now, even if you want. If you don't have tickets already, you can't go. I'll give you a little insider tip. What is it? Go on Craigslist. Yeah. A couple months before Comic-Con. Yeah. Looking at the jobs there, especially promo jobs. Yeah. They're going to be needing people to work at the booths. Yeah. That's what I did when it sold out. I worked at Comic-Con two years ago. Yeah. Yeah. Doesn't hurt if you're a hot blonde. What did you do? I taught people how to play role-playing card games. Greetings. Greetings. I don't know if I should say this, but I just walked in one year. You did? Yeah. It's so busy. I did. It's not right, but it's so busy. I just walked in like a random door and I was just very confident about it because I didn't really care either way. I mean, granted, she was dressed as a Klingon. No one is going to question me.
She had ears grafted on that were pointy. I was doing a radio bit, so I had like a little tag hanging from my neck, you know, like it said the station. Yeah. There you go. Ain't no thing. Well, now Comic-Con has more than just comics. It includes like TV shows, movies, things that don't even necessarily have anything to do with. Like comics? Twilight drew such a huge crowd last year. So you get a lot of people. That's why it's like now there's crazy security there and everything. I think Jay made a good point when you said, yeah, I'll give you a little tip. Going to Craigslist, blah, blah, blah. Oh, really? Be a hot blonde. If you're a good-looking hot blonde. No. Or Sienna. They need all kinds of people. Auburn hair. Yeah, Auburn, gorgeous hair. Hi, I just walked right in. Can I get in? Let's try that. She's putting on lipstick between her boobs. Wow. Wow. Those guys are like, please come in. Enter. Yeah. Enter here. Enter here. Earthling. Yeah. I'm like, thanks, guys. Yeah, guess what, Sienna Pepper? Not everybody can pull that off. All right?
Whatever they can. Just walk in confidence is the main thing. It's sold out. So, you know, you may have heard that they sold out. Because I was kind of confused when I first saw this. I was like, didn't they sell out like months ago? But they sold out their four-day passes in November. Remind you, Comic-Con is not until July 21st. Wow. This is like months before they've sold out in any other previous year. Four-day passes sold out in November. Saturday memberships were gone in December. The Friday day pass was gone in January. And now the Thursday day pass is gone. I've never been to Comic-Con. I haven't either. I've got to see what all the fuss is about. It's worth it. Plus, Mikey would be like, the hottest dude's there. I wonder if there's anything at Comic-Con for me. Yes. There's something for everyone. There's celebrities everywhere. When I went, do you watch Sex and the City, Lauren? Of course. Samantha's hot boyfriend, Sam's Jared. Saw him there. Jason Lewis is his name. And I had a recorder with me because, like I said, I was with the radio station. I was that girl, that freak who chased him down. Did you talk to him? I was like, Jason! Jason! And I was like, can I interview you real quick? And he was like, sorry, hon. This is his words. I was so bummed. Sorry, hon. I don't do interviews here today. And I was like,
Because he was there. He's dating Rosario Dawson. Shady's favorite person in the world. He's beautiful. But let me tell you, in person, a letdown. Skinny. I figured he might be in a... Oh. Yep. Con, con. Those are words that are said about me all the time. Yeah, a letdown in person. Just want to let everyone know that tonight is when a date with a firefighter... Woo! He plays Ricky Martin music. What? What? What? What? Live in La Vida Loca. This is like a woman's dream. That's not just a woman's dream. Why do you have to be so sexless? Like, it doesn't just have to be a woman's dream. This is true. You're right. So where is this auction happening? It's an auction? Yes. Can I, let me ask some simple questions. What, what, what? Auction like what? Like you get to take them home? Peace.
Really? You go, you take him home and he does like laundry for you? Well, this, these are the details. There's about 20 San Diego bachelors. Majority of them are firefighters. Okay. All of this is raised for the UCSD. What? They're great. I know. Big old creepy smile on Pepper's face. Jumping up and down. I'm an adult. If you're interested in this, which every girl is, even if they're married. It's about firefighters. I know. I know. Suspenders. Yeah, like Michael Shannon. Michael Shannon. Like when I used to wear them. So there you go. When I was 300 pounds back in 1992. I'm going to put all of this information on my blog today. So if you want to check it out, just go to MikeyShow.com and I'll hook you up, okay? So there's about 20 San Diego bachelors being auctioned off. This is all raising money for the UCSD Burns Center. And it's happening at Rock Bottom in La Jolla. This is right off the 5 La Jolla Village Drive. Starts at 6 o'clock tonight. And even if you don't want to auction off or grab a firefighter, who doesn't? But if you don't, maybe you're married.
You can still get some other stuff. There's limo bus gift certificates, private brewery tour, packages from the zoo and the aquarium, all kinds of stuff, all going to UCSD Burn Center. So let's say that there was an auction tonight for San Diego Charger cheerleaders. And me and you were like, oh, dude, we're going. We're going. We're totally going. You'd get slaughtered by these women. No, no, no. He just killed. They would be like, you creeps. You're married. You're married. You're disgusting. You're objectifying women. Stop. You are objectifying women. Yeah. I can't even believe they're auctioning off women. And Lauren's over here going. It's so funny. Did you get in your DeLorean and go to the future in a hypothetical situation to figure that out? It's so true. How do you know we would do that? Because I know both of you. Because if there is any objectifying of women on this program, Pepper and Sienna.
Speak up. Okay, but it's very typical that you guys would be like, ooh, Charger girls, you know? But, like, can we just have our one? Firefighters are the ones. Yeah, firefighters, vampires, athletes. What else? Well, if those women put themselves up on the block to be auctioned off, then that's not being objectified. It's objectified. Prostitution. Prebians. Prebians. Those women. Those women. No, I'm just saying, if you allow yourself to go ahead and be auctioned, then you're kind of objectifying yourself, right? What do you get if you get a fireman? If the fireman's auctioned, you buy him. I guess that's what you say, buy him. You get a date. You get a good time. You get a date. Hello. You get a date. Those guys, they're going to get slayed, all of them. Every one of them. Here's my question. If you're... It takes a very particular type of woman, I'm guessing, because you know who doesn't do that is the shy girl. The shy girl doesn't go to it. You'd be surprised. Really? If the shy girl has a night out with her girls, she opens up. Okay, so maybe the shy girl.
She goes and she's like, let's have a cup. You guys. Have a couple of margaritas. Let's go and have some margaritas and then like get some wine or something. Why does the shy girl talk like that? Because that's what she talks like when she's with her friends. Or her friends will buy it for her. Yeah. So she's like. Oh, that would be good. So she calls her friend Marissa and she's like, Marissa. Oh my gosh. Did you hear what they're doing tonight? I was listening to Mikey's show. I was listening to Mikey's show and they're saying that there's a fireman auction tonight. Let's. Let's go have some wine. Maybe they have Bort's Head. I love Bort's Head. Maybe they have Bort's Head. And we go and we get some wine. And we're just like, whatever. You know? Like, whatever. We get him. We get him. What? Now, you're the firefighter up there. Right. And, like, what if some... I can't say it, but, like, what if someone... You know what you do? You go on the date with her. Yeah. You go on the date, and you're very gentle with her. I've got a tickle in my throat. I can't make it. You're raising money for UCSD Burn Center. Yes, that's right. That's right. And you're not agreeing to, like... Aren't you? ...do anything else. No, aren't you? No, you're agreeing to go on a date with somebody. Smile at her. Does every date have to end in the boom-boom woods? Yes, Woods. You're agreeing to make love. You're agreeing to make love with these women. That's what they're paying for. They're paying for your love-making. You're agreeing to get married. Really, it's legalized. Legalized love.
Legalize lovemaking. Legalize lovemaking. They are making donations. That's right. That's what we'll call it. Ladies, tonight, rock bottom, 6 p.m., firefighters, be there. I'll be there. I will so be there with Marissa. It's going to be awesome. Hey, can I ask a question, man? Do you have directions on the website? You want to go? Yeah, you should go. Yeah, you know why? Why? Meet a bunch of girls, man. That's a good call, dude. A bunch of girls be hanging out there. That's a good call, Frank. Now I'll be like, what's up? You want to know the address? Yeah. 8980 Villa La Jolla. Yeah, dude. Hey, Woods. Yeah. Let's me and you go get a banana split and then we head down there and pick up on some girls, man. I got so many plans tonight, dude. Banana split. You have so many plans. I got so much to do. What does that even mean? You got so many plans. Then I'm not going to a fireman's auction. What are you doing? You're my best friend, dude. I got plans. What are the plans? I'm writing an album. Oh, really? Oh, are you? Yeah. You're writing an album with our band, Cookies and Milk? No. It's a solo project, dude. Dude, you're already going solo? That's my stuff. That is. Have you guys even had a performance yet? No.
It's unbelievable, Sting. He's a bit of a diva, Frankie. I am. Beyonce. You know, for a best friend, dude, we've never hung out once. I know. Makes it a little weird. Yeah, it ain't fair, man. I mean, I'm working on our best friendship, and you haven't even hung out with me one time, dude. Well, you came to my game. Yeah, I know, but you didn't even talk to me. I was like, hey, 22, and you were, like, acting like we didn't know each other. You were up in a tree, though, weren't you? It was a little weird. In fairness to you, I was videotaping you in a tree. Yeah, well. In fairness to you. Fair enough. Yeah, Frankie. Take it easy. Frankie wants to go to the fireman's auction. Hey, Sienna, why don't you tell everybody about the lady that was busted for identity theft? Okay, this lady is from San Diego, Yvonne Pamplone. Yvonne? Yvonne. Okay. Mm-hmm. She apparently stole a man's identification. Now I'm talking like name, information, credit card, all of this stuff. Got a hold of everything. And we don't really know how yet. And what did she do with it? Went to go get a little work done. She already had a boob job. So she went to get an implant exchange. She also had a breast lift. She went a little bit bigger. She had lipo on her arms, backs, and thighs. Dumb. Yeah. Well.
She got away with it. It was a $12,000 outpatient procedure. And then when the doctor called her a couple weeks later to do the follow-up, the number had been disconnected. They couldn't reach her anywhere. So what did they do? They tracked from the lot and serial number on her old implant. And they discovered that it was a whole different person. She got the procedure done, the first boob job in Newport Beach. And now she has been arrested in jail. Yeah. I bet she thought she would never get caught. You can't say boobs, though. Just call them Cans. Cans? Okay, sorry about that. That's not very professional. A little more professional. Not very professional. She was sentenced yesterday to 180 days in jail and placed on three years probation. That's it? Yeah. Stealing someone's identity is pretty crazy. She's still walking out with some new knots, though. I think it's pretty crazy that there's like a serial number, like a little tag on an implant. Track everything. Who knew? I know. 570-1949 is our phone number. You can call us about anything you want to. We do open phones right now. We know statistically. that we have a ton of listeners. Really, really grateful for that. Our M1s are Mikey Show listeners, and that means that when you call in, you turn your radio down, get to the point, and don't cuss, and we will be really nice to you.

To say that today is a jam-packed show is an understatement. An understatement. We got so many things happening today. A good friend of mine and a guy that has been in San Diego radio for a long time, Chris Cantore, is going to come on the air with us today and talk about what he's been up to. So if you're frantic... A fan of Chris Cantore. And you remember him from his days at 91X. We will have him on. We'll talk to Chris. We're also going to be... Oh, man. I got to do this new song for you that you're really going to like. I think we got something new from Apple Products today. Yeah. But the big thing today is that just after 7 o'clock, we are going to be making a gigantic announcement. And it has to do with somebody on the show. And...
Yes, it's what you're thinking. So we will be telling you that in just a little bit. Also, we're going to be telling you about a major league pitcher. I'll tell you why in just a second. This is M1 Matt. Matt, how are you? I'm doing good. How are you guys? Good, man. Matt. So I had to comment on the firefighter auction deal. What do you know? What do you know? So I'm a firefighter. Wow. Wow. Wow. And two years ago, when I was a newbie, we had a firefighter auction up north, and I got suckered into it because I was, like, the single guy. Really? How was she? Oh, Woods. Was or are? So she was probably the drunkest cougar in the crowd. Oh, my gosh. The cougars always get them.
They got money to burn. They are on the prowl. Yeah. The $45,000. What happened? My ex-husband's car. Yeah. She spent $1,800 that night to go on a date. Oh, wow. Included us picking her up in the fire engine. That is worth it. That is cool. My goodness. So there was six of us. We went on the date. It was really, really uncomfortable. drank too much. The good part of the story is like three days later, I was working. We get a call in the middle of the night. It was a vehicle rollover. We roll up on scene. Little Toyota upside down. I crawl in underneath and it was the lady that I went on the date with. No way, dude. Is she okay? She was completely obliterated drunk. All over herself, so it was the full scene. Well, she recognizes me. What's up, Matt? Yeah, as she's bleeding and just looking a mess, she's trying to hug me and kiss me. Oh, my goodness. Oh, that is bad. Train wreck. Well, let's hope this auction tonight, yeah, dream responsibly. Take a cab. That's right. Thanks, Matt. Appreciate the phone call. Cabs are our friends.
When we come back, we're going to tell you about a major league pitcher right now that does something so freakish that no one else in the league does it. As a matter of fact, last time somebody did this, that's what Friends Are For by Dionne Warwick was the number one hit on the radio. We'll tell you about that. Woods on Sports Next. Mute Math. Wow, Cesar Gonzalez from Mama Testa Taqueria. Hey, Brian from the Nervous Records. I wanted to stop in here after hearing Tim Piles talk about Mama Testa. Tell me about your chorizo. Oh, man, let me tell you about my chorizo. We make it fresh every day in the restaurant. We spice it up like only the way Mama knows. We don't use any of that greasy stuff you get at other places. Yeah, it's not greasy. Not greasy at all. My buddy Mark tried them. What'd you think, Mark? I tried the El Pastor tacos. What's up with the pineapple? Let me tell you about the El Pastor tacos, man. We marinated for 24 hours. Hey, Brian from the Nervous Records. What are you doing here hanging out with Mark and Caesar? Hey, Tim Piles. We're just eating some food. Really? Are you sure you're not cutting a commercial? No, man. We're just having a conversation. Really? Yeah, are we supposed to be cutting a commercial? I'm a musician. I don't endorse things. Oh, this is awkward. Maybe I should write a jingle. Do you remember when you used Dial-Up to access the internet? Remember how slow that was? Thankfully, things have changed, and now you're doing more and more on the internet. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Deuce, the Huffington Post. You just couldn't do all of this with Dial-Up. And you know how some levels of DSL from the phone company aren't that much faster than Dial-Up?
Here's the deal. If you want super fast internet without all the lag you get with DSL, switch to Earthlink from Time Warner Cable. See, Time Warner Cable has this advanced fiber network. And I wore suspenders. Woods. I buy sticker price for everything. Lauren. P.S. I'm going to get a wheatgrass shot. Ziena. That's why I keep the antibacterial hand gel in my purse at all times. And Jay. I love that sappy movie. On FM 94.9. A real nice chunky guitar. Oh, man. This is for real. My chair. Oh, yeah. A little STP. Sounds called Down. Peanut Butter and Jelly. Wait for it. Dean DeLeo. Oh, dude. Dean DeLeo and Scott Weiland? Yeah. Peanut butter and jelly. Best. Pepper O'Brien, how are you on Dean DeLeo and Scott Weiland? Where do you fall in with this mixture of sounds in your ears? I don't like it this hard. Too much? That. Really? Too much? I like more mellowed out Scott Weiland. I wonder why women don't have that thing that we have. My wife does.
She does? She's got it. She'll go rock out at a show. She'll throw the horns at you, too. Really? No, she won't throw the horns at you. She'll get excited. It's more likely for men to have it, but some girls will rock it. She probably does, though. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Sorry. Whoa. She probably does, though, because you really like it. So sometimes when you hear things enough, you kind of get used to it, and then you kind of grow to like it. It gets her amped up. When maybe if she wasn't with you, she wouldn't be like, ooh. Well, my deal is that I've never met a woman. that has the thing that when they hear that guitar, they want to beat something up, you know? I'd never really seen that. Did you see that, by the way? No, what did you do? What did you do? They do this. Air guitar. Air guitar. Playing with their breasts and moving their fingers at the same time. You kind of did an air bass. Yeah, I did. I was slapping the bass. You were slapping the bass. Eyes closed, rocking back and forth, mouth open. There you go. Wow. Girls just don't. I'm not a musician. There is no hard rockin' stuff that you dig, Pep? Um... Widespread. What is that? Widespread Peg is like a jam band. And yes, I like them, and I like Fish, and I like Grateful Dead. That's as hard as you'll rock it? No, that is not as hard as I'll rock it. Give me the hardest you'll rock it. Um... Aerosmith? Sweet Emotion? Dude looks like a lady. Yes, I love Sweet Emotion. That's a good one. Give me a hard one from Aerosmith that you rock, too. Sweet Emotion?
Wow. I don't know. That tells a story. I'd have to think about it. It really does tell a story. Let's do some of this. Make it right. The best. The best. Love it. Love it. I mean, I want to meet that kid. I know. I want to interview him for Kids Whiz. So great. Pretty slow day in sports, you guys. Everyone's gearing up for a big... Big, big sports weekend, though, guys. We've got the Final Four coming up on Saturday. Michigan State's taking on Butler, and Duke is taking on Michigan State. You've got the Yankees-Red Sox opening the 2010 season on Sunday. Obviously, I'm pretty stoked for that. The Chargers are back to work. Almost 30 players attended voluntary workouts at Charger Park. You know, some of the big-name guys like Sean Merriman, Marcus McNeil, Vincent Jackson, those guys aren't there because they're restricted free agents.
And, you know, they don't want to get hurt. So the big guys really won't report for a couple of months. But we talked yesterday about San Antonio Holmes of the Steelers. And remember I told you the story where he allegedly grabbed a woman by the face, threw a glass at her, cut her above the eye. Well, he's saying he was the victim. Really? Her name is Ann Shanae Mills. She grabbed his wrist, allegedly, got in his face, called him a racial name. And then she's denying the story and saying he did, in fact, hit her with the glass. There was a cut above her eye. Wrong place, wrong time again, man. Is there any witnesses in the entire club? I don't know, man. I think there had to be, right? There had to be witnesses. It's just one of those things, man. Maybe the guy didn't do anything wrong, but you keep putting yourself in those situations, things are going to happen. But he was at a bar. Like Mikey says, you know who doesn't get in trouble for that? Yeah. Who doesn't get in trouble for that? People that aren't. There. But live your life. He was at a bar. Who cares? You're a celebrity. You've got to be careful. Yeah, here's the thing. There's got to be witnesses to what happened. And I think that you're allowed to go out. I think that you're allowed to go out. I even think you're allowed to go out to a club. It's just, you know, you have to use the discernment in going out to the club of, well, first of all, what kind of club am I going to? Am I going to a club where, you know, it is notorious?
Am I going to a club that is known for getting people in trouble? Am I going to a club and then I'm having 80 cocktails? Am I going to a club and I've already gotten in a lot of trouble? Am I bringing my gun with me and shooting myself in the leg? Now, I think it's okay, like Sienna said, it's okay to go to a club. I just think people are looking to mess with these people. Exactly. To get money, to get publicity, and it just drives me nuts. You've got to be careful. You've got to be careful. It's like this girl, like what's going on in my mind, and I want to give her the benefit of the doubt, and I want to give him the benefit of the doubt, but what's going on in my mind is this girl probably saw, oh, there he is right there, Antonio Holmes from the Steelers. I'm going to go try to flirt with him or whatever, and maybe he just said no to her, and she was drunk or something. Just because the story yesterday when Woods reported, all he had to do was pay $15,000 to have this story. go away, which is pocket change. And for him not to do that makes me think there has to be reason for him not to do that. Got a point. Could be. Could be. Well, there's a really cool story out of Yankees spring training. The guy's name is Pat Vendetti, and he came in and he threw in relief yesterday for the Yankees. Big deal, right? Right. The crazy thing is, is this guy's ambidextrous. He can throw effectively with his right arm and his left arm. He pitched one in the third innings. He gave up one run.
He probably won't see the majors this year, but he had a really good year last year in single A ball. And the cool thing is he can be used out of the bullpen. And what they have, they have specialists. So if a right-handed batter is coming up, they'll usually bring in a right-hander to face him because it's harder to do. This guy can come in to pitch to lefties and righties, which is – Didn't you say there's something about his glove too? He's got six-finger gloves, so he can – So if you come up, Mike, you're a righty, he's going to put the glove on his left hand and pitch to you right-handed. You come up, if you're a lefty, he's going to put it over on his right hand, and he's going to pitch to you left-handed. And he's got a stum. He's got a place for stum on both sides. So now you, if you're a switch hitter, the cool thing is you're a switch hitter, meaning you can go either side of the plate. He's got to tell the ump before you get in the box which way he's going to throw you. I don't know why he has to do that. Because here's what they can do. I'm going to throw a lefty. Then the guy at the plate can go, okay, I'm going to bat righty. Then they can do this for an hour and a half. Got it. So he's got to let them know. It's just a really cool thing. They said that all the Yankees were on the top step just watching. They said it was like the coolest thing they'd ever seen. Well, yeah, they haven't seen it since 1986. Right. Has anybody been able to, capable of doing that? There was a guy, there was a guy, Doug Morris or something like that. He did it in 86. Yeah. Was the last time a guy was able to throw an amateur.
Pretty, pretty cool story. Do you think his dad has just been training him since he was, like, two years old? Like, you will throw with both hands. Sure. Absolutely. I think it's really, really fascinating, but it's just not something. It's like having a quarterback being able to throw with a left hand and right hand. Right. It's nuts. As soon as we found out my three-year-old son, Jake, was a lefty, we've been putting a little baseball in his hand ever since we found it out. We're like, come on, buddy. Guaranteed money. Come on. Make him throw with his right hand, too. Six hours of practice today. Don't screw this up. Is anybody in here familiar with the name Eddie Gossage? He's the NASCAR dude. He's a NASCAR dude. And being from Dallas, this story really hit me because it's funny. He's like the Maverick. He's a Texas Motor Speedway owner, but he's like the Maverick. It's a typical Dallas owner. He's like a Cuban or a Jerry Jones or a Tom Hicks. You know, the big name guys. He's really kind of out there. He was on a radio show in Dallas yesterday, and he offered one of the DJs, Terry Dorsey, who's been in Dallas forever, $100,000 to change his name to TexasMotorSpeedway.com for one year and get a permanent TMS tattoo. Texas Motor Speedway. Yeah, Texas Motor Speedway. Would you guys do it? Yes. Garrett walks in today and goes, Woods, you have to change your name to FM949SD.com.
For a year, I'll give you $100,000. No questions asked. Done. But you have to legally go have it changed? Legally, for one year. No way. For a year. Because you have to use your name over the course of the next year. Legally, you have to use your name. It's a minor inconvenience. For $100,000? For $100,000. It's beyond a minor inconvenience. Paying bills, doing stuff, being a part of society. You can pay those bills without 100 Gs you got in your bank account. That's right. I'd do it. Oh, my gosh. And then the tattoo that lasts forever, and it's dorky like that? I changed my name to Twinkle Toes for a year for $100,000. Forget? Are you kidding? Yeah. And before we wrap up, Mike, I wanted to give a happy belated to M1 Harold. It was his birthday yesterday, and that's our boy. Nice, Harold. Happy birthday, Harold. Happy birthday. I saw that on Facebook yesterday. I was a day late and a dollar short. That's right. Story of my life. I got to check that Facebook and the birthdays and everything. I know. He's our boy. So happy birthday, brother. Yeah. Happy birthday, Harold. He texted me yesterday about a tattoo. So maybe that's why. What's up, Pep? I'm sorry. It's all right. I just thought of the hardest song that I like. What? Enter Sandman Metallica. Nice. Really? Yep. Yeah. It's a hard one, I guess.
I guess. Yeah. You just don't, girls don't relate to Chunky Guitar. They're just not big fans of the Chunky Guitar. M1 Clint? Yes. What's up? Hey, what's going on, man? Not too much. Yeah, I had a short stint with the minor league Yankees last year. Nice. And the year before, and actually, he came to spring training and both pitchers, and I'd warm up with him three times a week. No way. What's the guy's name again? Pat Vendetta. Batman-Deddy. Yeah, his glove's pretty trippy. He's got webs on each side of his stomach index and then his ring and pinky. That's so weird. Yeah, they're half-weaves. But, yeah, the guy had a real live arm from the right, but could get it done with the left. Because with the left, that's all you really need, man, is just to kind of throw with a little pop and get it over from a left-hander's perspective, right? A little bit of junk and you're okay, lefty.
Yeah, well, I'm actually a pretty tall lefty pitcher, and I wish it worked out that way because I probably would still be there. So how fast can you pitch? High school, I got clocked at 92, but I got drafted a couple times. All I needed to do was throw a 788. It was some good movement. Yeah, got to have the tailing fastball, the running fastball. Clint, what made the difference between you not making the team and making the team? Let's see, I was... I was 21, 22 going to spring training last year, and they didn't have as much money invested in me. They actually had a bunch of young lefties coming through with the same back class as me in 08 and 09. It was just a numbers thing. What about the rest of the league? Have you tried getting on with another team? Well, I came back and I had options, but I woke up every morning and I wasn't really too motivated to go back. Really? My dad makes surfboards here. I've been blessed to make fun toys all the time. So I think I did with all this good surf this winter. I play on a men's league team, and we could sure use a big, tall, lefty, fireballing pitcher. Maybe you email me at woods at mikeyshow.com. We make that right. All right. I'm still looking for a paycheck. Hey, Clint. Hey, Clint. I got a question for you. Yeah. If you were to do that, if you were to play on Woods' team,
Would you have to make it known to that league that you are as good as you are? Not really. I've actually played in summer leagues, professional leagues, before I signed, like between college years. And there's some older guys that, you know, we actually had a pitcher that was and would pitch a few innings. And he spent some time in the Reds organization. He was a good friend. But, yeah, you don't have to let him know. No, absolutely. We need a ringer, dude. Can you imagine, Woods? I would love it. This dude is like... Coming out slinging heat from the left side. And they have no idea that he was on the Yankees last year. Right. That would... All right, PayPal. How much under the table? How much you need? All right. All right, Woods. This is awkward. That's getting weird. Clint, that's awesome, dude. That's awesome, dude. Thanks for calling, man. That's awesome. I appreciate it. Yeah, man. Great call. Go to the show. Have a good day, guys. Thanks, brother. Man. I love him. Already. Already, right? Yeah. Maybe he writes you and makes it right. Maybe. Hey, guys, I got a guy I want to introduce you to. My friend Clint. And look who I brought. He's just an old buddy of mine. Yeah, we call him 92. Yeah, we call him 92. The 92 lefty. Oh, wow. Wouldn't that be great? Now, left-handers can pitch at right-handed batters, right? Yeah, you can pitch at anybody. But a lefty is really especially tough on a lefty. And a righty is tougher on a righty. Really? Yeah. I'll teach you all the...
intricacies, I can never say that word, intricacies of the game this year, Mike. You can do that while you're walking around the apartment with a robe on. I mean, be speaking out of school. But I called Woodsy yesterday. This is great. I called Woodsy yesterday. And you guys know this. I'm just saying this for the benefit of listeners, okay? Trying to get to know our boy Woods. I called him yesterday and he always answers like this. What's up, pal? Yeah. Smoking. What's up, pal? He totally does. Yeah, right? I go, what are you doing? He goes, walking around in a robe, wearing a cigarette. What are you doing? Wearing a cigarette. Walking around in a robe, smoking a cigarette. What are you doing? I go, you're walking around your apartment in a robe. Oh, Mike. This is from the naked laptop man. From the nude man. From the nude Latino. That's how I called him. Yeah, yeah, nude. What's up, dude? Was this your pinstripe Yankees robe? Was it? Of course. Of course it was. You know that. Oh, my goodness. You know that. Gearing up for the big game this weekend. That's right. Pepper went running this weekend, or went running yesterday, and picked up two Mylar balloons. Mylar? What's that? Those, like, foily, like...
Shiny little balloons. I didn't know they had a name. Yeah. The little mini ones on a stick. If you detest them with every ounce of your being, you know what they're called. I just don't like them being released. Who does this? People do like... People let balloons go. Everyone. Like, oh, you get with your kid and you let a balloon go. And who doesn't do that? Even the cute little frogs and stuff. Why? You shouldn't be doing that. I'm going to do it this afternoon. Don't. Environmentalists, you make them nuts. Why? Why? The turtles eat it. They think it's a jellyfish. Yes. It kills them. It gets wrapped around countless marine animals. So she's... Woodsy. Woods just put his... Not to mention it's just litter. Woods just put his head down into his arms. Like, are you kidding me? But, yeah, for somebody that's an environmentalist... By the way, I have... What if your entire yard was filled with deflated Mylar balloons? I would love it. Okay. I would love it. Yeah, right. You just opened up a can of worms. I know it. Why did you do that? She was running. She was running. Found two Mylar balloons. Picked them up along the shoreline. By the way, that's the fourth balloon. In a week. In a week. In a week. I never even see those things. When you were born, were you born at 18 years old? Did you ever put balloons up in the air when you were a little kid? Do you know how much fun that is? Yeah. I can't recall if I have, but I'm an adult now. Liar. 100% I did as a kid. Absolutely. And you know what? I learned.
Not to do it. I don't do it now. But if I had a kid and he wanted to go take a balloon out and let it go. 100%. Are you kidding me? If it's my birthday and one of my friends walks in with one of those balloons and it's one of those adorable little frogs or something. Let it go. Loving it. Let it go. I don't know if I'm going to let it go. I don't know if I'm going to let it go. No, I have nothing against the balloons themselves. Oh, I love the balloons. I'm against the letting it go. You never know where that's going to end up. Sometimes they just get out, though. I got no opinion on this. Really? Are you kidding me? You have a three-year-old kid. Yep. When's Jake's birthday? What month? September. September. We come over. Jay goes, Daddy, Daddy, Daddy, let's go let a balloon up in the air. We're all there for the party. I'll say call Auntie Lauren and ask her if we can do that. No kid would say that unless an adult introduced them to it. No way. They cry like babies when they disappear. That's the first thing you do. When you see it go to the ceiling, the first thought you have is, huh. I want to let this go. I want to let this go. Yeah. No, it's not. No, it's not. Jay is 100% right. If you go to Trader Joe's and you see any of the kids lose their balloons. They cry like a baby.
If they lose it, if they do it on purpose, it's like you sit there for 20 minutes going, this is the coolest thing ever. He did it. He loved it. I loved it as a child. It's the greatest thing ever. My daughter Liberty said the coolest thing when she was real little. She's like, Daddy, why does God get all the balloons? That's right. He gets them all. That's so cute. That's right. He gets them until the turtles eat them. Look, we just read about all the trash from yesterday. Right? In San Diego, seven and a half pounds each person produces every day. That's right. Kids will be kids. Adults can be adults. I'm not out releasing balloon, but I'm saying I get it. She's so bad right now. It fires her up, dude. I find them in the ocean all the time, too. I tuck them into my wetsuit. Me, too. Bring them in. Me, too. I was swimming with dolphins the other day, and I was like, I can't even believe what I'm seeing right now. When we come back. Let's go. I'm totally craving a frappe at Mickey D's. A frappe what? Frappe. You're not making any sense. A frappe, as in McCafe frappe? What are you talking about? McDonald's takes a little coffee magic ice... serious sweetness, then puts it on a blender and makes a delicious cup of perfection. Wow. In mocha or caramel flavors. Nice. I drop a straw through the whipped cream and chocolate or caramel drizzles, and suddenly, I'm on a fast train to Blissville. There room for two on that ride? This is The Mikey Show on FM 94.9. Cesar. Hey, Cesar Gonzalez. I went by Mama Testa's and the corn tortillas. They're the way to go. Tell me about the Yucatecos. We take pork. We marinate it for 24 hours in anato paste and orange juice. Then we wrap it up in roasted banana leaves and we steam it for six more hours. Tender pork, sweet, sour, and spicy all at the same time. That sounds yummy, Chico. Tell me about the Mojaros de Carne. Mojaros de Carne, dude? Their roll tacos are Guerrero style. They're serving a spicy beef broth. If you have one too many brewskis, they're the cure for the hangover, bro. Okay, now, Flavio, tell me how you beat that Bobby Flay guy from the Food Network. Bobby Flay? He challenged me to a fish taco throwdown. But did you win? Get on that way. I'm Cesar Gonzalez from Mama Testa. Of course I won. If he challenged me to a cabbage and potato soup, he would have had a chance. Hey, jefe, you're here legally. Listen, Sancho. On Mama Testa, we do everything you can do to the taco. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Welcome back. Welcome back, everybody. It's the Mikey Show. It is 7 o'clock. And I'm picking the music that we do today. And this reminds me of my sophomore year in high school. Yep. Now, we, at times on the Mikey Show,
have things that I like to call life events. They are so big that they will be remembered forever in the life of the Mikey show as best of. They will be remembered in the life of the Mikey show as something extraordinary. And they'll be remembered in the life of the Mikey show as I was listening that day. And this is one of those moments. We have an announcement to make. And I am going to let Sienna. make this announcement. I don't know how to just go into it. I know. I don't know how to go into it other than, I guess, just saying it. Yesterday, my husband Todd and I went to a doctor's appointment and I got the okay from my doctor to make the announcement that we are having a baby. You know, the belly is growing. That's right. And she is going to, you know, we don't know. What did the doctor say and what do we know? Well, as of today, I'm 19 weeks. And I waited a little longer than normal. A, because it's my first child and, you know, I just want to be extra careful. And B, because it's a scary thing telling all of San Diego, you know. It's just like, whew, here we go.
Yeah, we're going to have a baby, my first baby. I'm 25 on Saturday, so it's a good little birthday present. Here's the thing. She was made to be a mom. No question. Thank you. She's made to be a mom. I mean, she is so maternal that she's made to be a mom. And I've always told you that. You are made to be a mom. I'm going to cry. So have you had any changes, any emotions, any hormones, any of that stuff going on? Yeah, I've had a lot of changes. Waking up at 3 in the morning without coffee is not fun. But no, I mean, we didn't plan this, but it was obviously an amazing surprise. We wanted to have kids soon, but like most of you know, we just got married. So yeah, that was, you know, kind of kicked that into gear real quick. But no, we're both thrilled. And yeah, I had not, my morning sickness wasn't too bad. A lot of people have it really bad, so I've been really lucky so far. Yeah. But, yeah, the belly's growing right now. I can't button my jeans. I've yet to buy any maternity clothes. It's because it's an awkward thing to buy. I don't know. I've never had to go into one of those stores. Oh, that's the kind of pants I wear. It's fine. It'll be fine. I'll show you where to go and what to do. When I wear jeans, I have a hair tie holding my pants together. Really amazing. Yeah, you know. That's great. I'm going to need to go to the store here this week.
Probably paydays today. Yes. It's a blessing. And you've got to glow about you. I'm so thrilled. So, yeah, I'm 19 weeks today. It's about four and a half months. So I'm almost halfway there. Yeah. The baby's due the end of August. Yeah. And yesterday we went to our appointment to find out the sex. Oh, I'm so excited. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. I haven't told any of you. Are you going to tell us on the air? Do you guys want to guess? Yes. Do you want to make little wagers? Okay, I'm going to tell you. I'm going to tell you. I know exactly what it is. You do? Yeah, I know exactly what it is. No, you don't. Yes, I do. I know what it is. I know what it is. Write it down. It's such a weird mic. The moment is really weird. When you go and sit down and they're doing the ultrasound and they're like, okay, are you ready? And we're like, yeah. And then when they give you the answer, it's kind of like there's no right or wrong answer. I was like stunned. You don't like, oh, okay. Right. Okay. So should she tell us first and then we... No, I want to see your guys' guesses. Okay, you ready? Yeah. Mike. Mike says girl. He wrote down boy and he scratched it out and then he put girl. Yeah.
Mine and big. Lauren says girl. Lauren says girl. Wood says boy. Jay? I got girl. Wow, I'm the only one with a boy. Well, the three of you were right. Damn it. You can tell just by looking at her. I don't know. I've seen a lot of pregnant moms. Yeah, I mean, I thought without a doubt it was going to be a boy. Like, I had that feeling, like, it's a boy. Like, I just, I can't even imagine it being a girl. I just knew it was a boy. And Todd thought it was going to be a boy, too. So we were both like. Oh, okay. But I mean, it's like a great surprise. Like there's no, you know. Oh, there's no wrong answer. There's no wrong answer. Exactly. So we're like, oh, now we need to start thinking about girl names. She's going to have such a cool name. You and all your sisters. Oh, yeah. Are you going to carry on the trend? My sisters. Yeah, mine's Sienna. Volkswagen. Avalon and Waverly. That's right. Volkswagen? I know. My dad was like, yeah, what about, because my last name is Farrar. He's like, it should be like Porsche or something. And they're all in on my last name is Aston and there's a car, Aston Martin. So like, it should be Aston. What about that? I just feel like they'll get made fun of. Like when they're little. Aston, that's a cool name. You mean like what Woods just did right now by saying Volkswagen? No, no, because of the beginning of the name.
Aston? Little kids at the potty and stuff. Your name's Aston. And I got teased for it a little bit when that was my middle name, but I do really like it. I think it's a cool name. Would it be okay to put this as the status on our Facebook page, on the Mikey Show Facebook page? Put what? That you're having a girl. Yeah, of course. Would it be appropriate to let an M1 name your child? No. I'll take name suggestions. I want something that's unique, but it's not, like, crazy, you know? Right. What about Woods? Yeah, I'm going to name her Woods. Yeah, it's a good name. Okay, I'm posting it right now. From the bottom of my heart, congratulations. Thank you. I'm so happy for you. August cannot come soon enough. So, yeah, I'll be gone for a little bit in August, but I'll be right back. That's right. And what's the exact date? August 27th. Cool. A Virgo? I have no idea. I don't either. And my son, whatever it is, is what my son Jake is because he was born then. Really? Yeah. And I think it's also what our twins are because they were born around then too, August 9th.
So it's got to be whatever. I don't know what they are. There's something about the November time, I think. There's a lot of late August babies. Yeah. Kim's a Virgo. Is that what that is? Virgo? I think it is. Once her birthday? I have no idea. Yeah, then it's Virgo. Yeah, I think it's Virgo. Not necessarily. Jamie's a Libra. She's a September. Well, the 21st and the 22nd is like where that cusp happens usually. Yeah. So all I know is I'm very happy that we have a pool because it's going to be so hot. Yeah. It's going to be nice and cool in August when you're having that show. Yeah. We don't have air conditioning. Speaking of pools. Yeah. We need to do a pool here on the show as to the date. Yes. Oh, yeah. The weight. The weight. The length. The length, all that stuff. It's so crazy. I got, I should bring it in, the DVD of the ultrasound where you see the baby moving around. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And she was like, wow, she is moving a lot. She's like doing somersaults and waving and kicking. It's getting misty-eyed, dude. I know it. I know it. I mean, just to sit there and watch and you're like, whoa. And I can feel like little flutters now. Oh, my gosh. Like nothing too crazy. But when I'm lying in bed, like you feel the movements. Like a little butterfly, right? Yeah, exactly. A little butterfly. I can't wait. I know. It's the great, like.
The day that we're on the air and when she has it. Yeah. Hopefully, you know, if it's during the week and we all pack our stuff after the show and we run up to the hospital together. You guys are so welcome to come that day. It's going to be awesome. The more the merrier. It's going to be great. Can I run the video camera? Oh, I don't know about that. I don't know about that. It's a little strange. I'll bring Todd a cocktail and a glass because he's going to need it. You're being inappropriate. Yeah. Well, you know what? Here's the thing. I think. That you are going to be a great mom. And I am so stoked about it. And we got to do a pool where we guess what day, the length, all that stuff. Yeah. And I just had something in my head about this. And I lost it. I hate when that happens. I know it. Anyway. That's a big announcement, man. Sienna is having a baby girl. I know. It's been hard the last couple weeks when we have listeners in on Friday. Love it, Sienna. Thank you. Thank you. We have listeners in. I'm like trying to cover my stomach a little bit. Whatever. You're tiny. I mean, I'm not showing too much. There was something about the flutters. There was something about the flutters, but I can't remember. It's weird.
I'm like, wow, is that a flutter? They say starting at 16 weeks, you start to feel it. And so now that I'm coming up on 19, I can definitely feel it. Are you eating anything? Are you craving anything weird? I always love the craving bit. Oh, my gosh. What are you craving? You guys have seen me down huge things of pickles. Like, you wouldn't believe. So you really do crave pickles? It's the weirdest thing. Pickles and ice cream. Is that a bit? I know. I've always heard that as a bit, and she really does crave it. Well, because when we do our Monday meetings. used to before everybody got really grouchy about the sandwiches, we would eat these sandwiches. And Sienna was always like, Woods, I need extra pickles. Extra. Extra. And I'm like, really? How many pickles do you need? She was like the pickle monster. Pickles. Pickles. Pickles. No, I go to the grocery store and you know those like jumbo pickles that come in an individual bag? Yeah. I buy those. She did it at the movie. Like the hot. Huge hot pickle in pickle brine. She's sitting next to me like. Really? It's delicious. I'm like, really? For three years. Put that cucumber down. It's so gross. It's so big. Just yesterday I cut up cucumbers. It's like anything that's spicy or salty. Like the really extreme taste. I want everything to do with it. I got the cucumber and I.
sliced them up and I put them in apple cider vinegar with chopped up onions and it's soaking and when I get home I'm going to eat that entire thing. That sounds good. Gotta get you hooked up with the ultrasound experience in San Marcos eventually because they do this 3D thing where you can see the baby in 3D. It's kind of like a yellowy image. It's the coolest thing and you get to see the 3D image while the baby's moving in 3D and they videotape it and put it on a DVD for you. It's crazy cool. Did you cry Sienna when you saw? You know, I didn't. Like, I don't know. I was really surprised. You had a big smile on your face. Yeah. I think, I mean, Todd and I both kind of looked at each other because we were, we walked in there thinking, that's going to be a boy. I mean, obviously it's going to be a boy. Right. And I have a stepdaughter and poor Todd. He was a good sport, but I think he was like, man. He already has a daughter, but no, he's really stoked. That's awesome. And it's cool because. Part of the reason I have this like maternal gene, you know, and I just love kids is because when I was eight, my mom started over with another set. My mom and dad both had my brother and I. And then when I was eight, my brother's 10. They had another. And so I was eight years older and Jenna's eight now. And I mean, I just took on that mother role. I saved that baby's life. Yes, she did. Like in like literally. Yeah. Oh, no. She fell in the pool and I was the first one to notice. And I jumped up and was like, Mom, you know, and then my mom was one that jumped in. And then another time.
She fell off in a boat, and I grabbed her and jumped in. Waverly? Avalon. Avalon. She talked about that at your wedding. I know. That's right. I want to ask you. Like, taught them both how to walk, how to ride a bike, do all of that stuff. Like, the midnight feedings. I woke up when I was, like, eight and got bottles sometimes. That's awesome. And, like, yeah. She's going to be dynamite. I mean, you hear her with the kids and stuff. It's phenomenal. I can't wait. So I look forward, too, because my stepdaughter, Jenna, she really wanted a girl. So she's going to be so excited. That's so cool. And it's going to be cool to see her get to do what I did. I love it. I do, too. I love it. That's so great. M1 Mario, you there? Yeah, I'm here. You got a name suggestion. Okay. Yeah, my daughter, Sienna, my daughter's name is Synthony. C-U-I-N-T-H-O-N-Y. Synthony. That's different. That is different. I like that. Now, Sienna, will it be different for sure? Like, there's not going to be any Cathy's? No, there's not going to be. Katie's? See, this is the thing. A boy name came to Todd and I immediately. We both agreed and we both liked it. And we've been calling the baby Blake. Like, baby Blake. Right. You could still name a girl Blake. Yeah, it's very cute. We're kind of feeling Blake right now. But we're like, I don't know. Because we were sold on it.
being a boy's name. Blake Lively. Yeah, that's what my sister said. Kind of sounds like one of the characters that would have been on the Facts of Life that we didn't know about. You know, she would have been best friends with Joe, Blair, and Tootie. And I kind of like the girl-boy names, like Taylor, you know? I like stuff like that, and I know a little girl named Dylan, and I thought it was really cute. Oh, that's so cute. Cool. Yeah, really cute. So, we'll see. I mean, right now, I have no idea. That's awesome. A bunch of names in the air. Oh, there it is. Sienna is having a baby. I'm so glad to be able to tell all you guys. I've been dying to make the announcement, but you know, it's like, when do I do it? I don't know. I want to be sure. Mikey and I were talking yesterday, flipping out. Flipping out. Oh, that. Flipping out. Yeah. Because we hadn't heard from you. Yeah. They knew I was going in to find out. And they knew that I had my big appointment. And I've been really excited. And it was at 2.15 yesterday. And I got so many texts from you guys. Like, is everything going okay? Everything fine? Yeah. Everything all right? Everything fine? What's going on? And I didn't give back to Mikey until almost 7. Yeah. Freak me out. And he was, like, panicking. My dad was panicking. Everyone, because they hadn't heard. Because the appointment took a while. You have to go in with a full bladder. Yeah. And I didn't know that. So I had to sit there and drink all this liquids and finally fill up.
It was a long appointment, but a good one. 570-1949 is our number. 949mikey at gmail.com is how you get a hold of us by text. And let's see. We got other stuff we're going to do, too. Did you know? Oh, boy. My wife hears this. She's going to be real happy. But before we get to that, a couple people calling up to say congrats. M1 Will, are you there? I am. Hello, Mikey. How you doing? Good. How about yourself? Good, bro. Just wanted to say congrats first and foremost, Sienna. Thank you, Will. Thanks. So cool. It feels so good to be able to talk about it. Yeah, that's pretty amazing, isn't it? It's unreal. I mean, I have to keep pinching myself. It's so cool. Like I just got married and there's a baby and I just feel so blessed and so lucky. It's awesome. To be like where we are right now, the show, it's just like, oh, 2010 has been a really good year. Yeah, it has. Yeah, it has. Yeah, it has. You're going to bring a social security number, a brand new baby, a new social security number. That's so cute to me. The thought of a new person in the world. M1 Rubin? Yeah, I got two names for you guys. Let's hear them. Cherish and Faith.
Cherish and Faith. I love them both. I've always liked Grace, too. Faith reminded me of Grace. I love the name Grace. But Todd wasn't really feeling it. No? Like, okay. How are you guys on the names? Do you guys agree or no? We really, like, I threw out Blake when we first found out about the baby, and he was like, I love it. And I was like, I love it, too. And so we kind of just stopped, and now that we know it's a girl, it's like, oh, now let's do it again. Blake Farrar sounds like a... Badass. That's what he said. Sounds like a badass. He's like, dude, you know he would be tough. Blake Farrar. Yeah. Do not mess with Blake Farrar. Dude, all I know. That dude will slay you. All I know is if you pick on that guy, he's best friends with Blake Farrar. Yeah. Don't even go there. Don't even go there. If it goes the other way, if it's a girl's name, it's like a celebrity waiting to happen. Blake Farrar. Blake Farrar. Have you seen that new girl here? Blake Farrar. You guys are really selling me on it right now. I'm sold. She's so good looking. I am so good. Your husband might be like, thought about it, and I'm in. Yeah. Done. You know what's funny is right now he's driving to work, and he hasn't told anyone at work. And they listen to the show, so right now people at his work, safety syringes, holla. There you go. Congratulations, Todd. Congrats, Todd. They're going to all be like, dude, you're having a baby. Oh, that's awesome. He's been quiet about it, too. I can't keep secrets. I know you guys are good. You're really good. Frog legs, you there? Yes. M1 frog legs. How old are you?
I'm 11. And you have a name that you want to offer? Yes. What is it? Hello? Sorry. It's okay. First, congratulations, Sienna. Thank you. And I have the name Brayden. I like Brayden. That's my cousin's name. Really? That's a cute name. Well, my cousin's a baby thing. That is a cute name. It's a really cute name. Thank you, frog legs. I appreciate it. That's very sweet. Thanks for calling. Thank you. And M1KG, are you there? Yes, I am. You have some advice? I do. I have some clothing advice for you, Sienna. Awesome. I need it. Running out of things to wear. I'm actually 33 weeks pregnant now. Congratulations. Thank you. Thank you. But I want to tell you, please don't bother with Old Navy maternity jeans. I wasted my money on some of those. I was looking at those online, actually, over the weekend. Were you really? They're very, very uncomfortable, to be honest with you. I can tell you that, too, because I'm wearing a pair right now. The elastic pinches the hair on my back.
Oh, wow. Oh, wow. The maternity store has these pants that they call a secret belly fit. They have a full panel, but it's a really, really thin material that you can't see and you can't tell that you're wearing maternity pants at all. Maybe we check those out, Mike. Yeah, I'd like to try those on if they breathe well. We could make a show trip to motherhood. That's right. I'll see you there. Thank you so much. I'm like, can I? Can I get one of the fitting rooms? So this is for pregnant women. You guys, I'm pretty stoked, though. How awesome is it to be able to wear elastic waistband and, like, it's okay? Oh, yeah. Last time I did it, I was real stoked about it, okay? I also wore suspenders and cosmetic glasses. They were sweatpants, and you were at an adult ladies' dancing club. That's right. Yeah. Free creeper. I was either, there was two places you could find me there or a donut shop, okay? Those were the two places you could find me last time. and I had elastic in my pants. I'm trying so hard right now because it's like, once you find out you're pregnant, it's like, oh, I get to eat, you know? Like, everything's okay. And you crave everything. Man, is it hard. The cravings, I've never experienced anything like it. Just indulge. I just went eat and eat and eat and it's like, I'm never full. I say go for it. I say feast. No, my doctor said that I've actually gained less than...
than what most people do. So I was like, okay, but she said everything looks really good. So I'm like, okay, well, that's cool. I gained weight right along with Kim. I had all the cravings and everything. I was just like, argh. Really? Todd's coming along there, too. What is that called? Sympathy weight? Sympathy. Sympathy. Sympathy bit. So my wife will be very happy to know that there is a new Twilight book. Is that right? Woo! Yes! Okay, now we know Stephanie Myers is... Stephanie Meyer is the one that wrote the Twilight series. Well, starting June 5th, which is right before the series Eclipse comes to theater, there is a new novel coming out, a novella, and it's called The Short Second Life of Brie Tanner. Have you heard about this, Lauren? Oh, yeah. Now, I didn't really know what this was all about. No, I'm kidding. Why are you snoring, Woods? Why are you snoring? Woods. Apparently, it has to do with a lot of the events that take place in Eclipse, the third Twilight book. Hang on, Sienna. What? We've got to wake up all the guys in the audience. Wake up, guys. I'll make it quick. I'll make it quick. Maybe Edward should swoop in. And this story is told from the perspective of Brie, who's a newborn vampire. So she's a new vampire who's coming into the scene. I say that, but I watched it last week. I know. What are you even talking about? I'm really glad that Mapple has kind of gone to work on the ridiculous...
craze that is the Twilight books. It was time. It was definitely time. Senior Vice President of Mapple Design, Simon Kirkland. When Mapple first took a look at the iVamp, we had two very simple goals in mind. First, we saw need for the middle-aged woman to be loved by a vampire. And then second, we realized that not all women live in Oregon where Edward Cullen lives. Introducing iVamp, head of iVamp marketing. Ian Curtfellows. Yes, what a chippy device. I do say, I do say. Now you can fall in complete love with a vampy-wappy. Anytime, anywhere. Positively brilliant. The design is completely aluminum. And it's shaped like a little coffin. To simulate the Dracula-type aspects of Twilight. The Mapple Product Development. Pam Cartwright. You know, I'm on the run. I have a busy life, and I just don't have time to move to Oregon to fall in love. The first time I used the iVamp and heard Edward tell me he would protect me no matter what, you bet your sweet jacuzzi I was interested. Plus, I could send and receive picture texts. I was like, what's next? Is Wesley Snipes going to show up and make me Sloppy Joes?
In honey. I don't get it. We saw an immediate need and we responded to it. The challenge was, how can we provide an immortal, translucent lover to predominantly white middle-aged women while still leaving a green carbon footprint? And the answer, wirelessly. Goodness, Edward Cullen and access to YouTube. Nice work, Mapple. iVamp. Helping you sink your teeth into the future. I need a cigarette. Wonderful product. I want to get one of those. It's true, though, because people, I mean, you don't have time to go to Oregon to fall in love. Who does? Who does these days? It's a great product. It's a phenomenal product. Sign me up. Woodsy said that he's been having a hard time sleeping at his apartment. Some people can relate to this. When the person that lives next to you is basing out. Yeah.
Oh. They're having a gay dance party next door to me, dude. Are they really? Yeah. Baking gingerbread houses. I don't know what they're doing, pal, but I'm losing my mind. Slow sticks. I'm slowly. What kind of music? Just. Is your rib cage like vibrating? I put earplugs in last night. Oh, no. And I just was laying there and I had my phone on top of my chest and I could see my phone moving. Are you serious? I swear to God. So here's me. Oh, no. On the wall all night. Dude, you need to pay back. We get up early in the morning. You should start playing your music louder. But it's just going to get worse. And when I pound on the wall, it goes louder. I have a question. Wow. Instead of pounding on the wall or playing your music back to get back, why not very politely? I don't do polite. Oh, I forgot. Write that down. I forgot. I don't do polite. I'm not going to go. Maybe I'll come over and I'll knock on the door and politely say, hi, just wanted to let you know I get up really early in the morning and the bass is keeping me awake. I don't have that. Whatever that gene is that has, like, that patient kind, like, hey, man. Why don't you go with Sienna? You get the elastic gene. Yeah. And then that'll work perfectly for you. Maybe I throw a ton of crickets into their apartment. I'm thinking about, like, ways to get even. Because I have.
gay German dance party next to me every single night. You gotta go over. You gotta go over and you gotta politely ask. You're moving soon anyway. Yeah. Yeah, but I feel like I am in the shining right now. Like, I'm starting to, like, I'm gonna be typing all work and no play makes Woods a dull boy at my computer because I'm starting to lose my mind. I'm starting to lose my mind. Yeah, you gotta go over there and be real nice. You're gonna like this, Woods. Old, old country. Yeah, a little G.J. This is from the soundtrack, The Swingers. The great thing about AT&T U-verse TV is you can record a show in one room and play it back on any TV in the house. That's important. Just ask Mike here. Hey. Mike worked late tonight, so he had to record the ball game. Yeah, but when I got home, my whole family was watching some show in the den. Families will do that, Mike. Thanks for the tip. Luckily, you first let you record shows on one DVR and play them on any TV in the house. Cable can't do that. So the game I recorded, I can watch it on the TV in the basement? Yep. Surf-wise today, looking at a pretty big mess out there as that west-northwesterly swell continues to grow. Wind swell base right now touches southwest underlying that. But we do have those steady forecasted westerly winds pretty much chopping it all up. Beach breaks, a few random peaks here and there. Reef breaks at the low tide. You might be able to find a nugget or two. Selective reef breaks. But all in all,
Today, it looks like it's going to be pretty much of a drill type of a day in terms of quality of surf. Pretty cloudy right now, and it looks like it might remain that way throughout most of the day, too. But I said that yesterday, and sure as heck, it came out to be a nice day. So don't take what I say there as a definite, for sure. Have to see how it lays out with these winds. For up-to-the-minute surf reports, forecasts, you go to surpline.com. The home run so far, pal. I have eclectic musical taste. I like Duran Duran. Is there something I should know? George Jones. She thinks I still care. And wolf mother. Woman. It's different. I saw these guys at Canes. It was just like me and two other people. Really? Two other people just right there. These guys kill. You sound like Zeppelin, dude. I mean, seriously, it's Sonic. The guy plays an organ like that. He lifts it all up on the side and just going crazy. I love it. It's a trip, man. Love it. When people have crazy talent. Yeah. And they're able to do that. I cannot play the guitar myself. Am I hearing something?
Yeah. Oh, oh, oh, oh. I was like, what is that? I turned off my mic. Sorry. If you're just tuning in, Sienna announced that she is pregnant with a little baby girl. A little girl. Speaking of pregnant, shouldn't we ban when people say prego or preggers? No. Can we do that? I like it. That's what I said when Sienna was like, I have to tell you guys something. I was like, you're preggers. You did. That doesn't bother me. Banned, banned, banned. Preggers is funny. Preggers. People text me, hey, Preggers. 570-1949. I want to talk to you about the weirdest neighbors you've had. M1, Harold. Harold, first of all, I owe you an apology because you're a good friend of mine, and I didn't even know yesterday was your birthday. Hey, dude, you are a busy guy. You got the number one show in San Diego. You're a busy guy. I know, but I still forgot, and I feel bad. And I know I had seen it at some point last week or something. I probably saw it on the Facebook. I did, too. I made a mental note to not drop the ball. I dropped the ball. I love you guys. I ain't sweating it. Thanks, brother. I owe you one, dude. I'll accept it. All right. What do you got? Dude, I had the craziest neighbor ever. It was like...
A scary movie. I had a neighbor who was a schizophrenic and an alcoholic. Is that the dude that you told me about that the middle of the night stuff? Oh, yeah, dude. I called the cops on him four times in one night. He was up at two, three o'clock in the morning screaming at the top of his lungs and talking to himself in different voices. Yeah. Dude, are you kidding? My skin is crawling. Oh, dude. I remember when this was going on and he just telling me about the story. Was it in an apartment, Harold? No, no, no. A house, okay. And I'm getting the chills just telling you about it. Just going back to this night, I ended up having him arrested because if the cops didn't take him away, I was going to jump the fence. Just take him down. Harold's a professional arm wrestler. Yeah, Harold woke my kids up. My five-year-old son goes, Dad, what is wrong with that guy? He's crazy. Oh, dude. That is nuts. It was the gnarliest thing I've ever seen. That is crazy. I ended up recording it because it was so crazy. That's nuts. You recorded it? I did, dude. Yeah. I'm going to need to hear that sometime. I got to dig it up. It's somewhere, but oh, it's so crazy. Thanks, Harold. I appreciate it. Happy birthday, bro. M1 Jason. Hello. You had a neighbor that did what? Um, several things. The first thing in the week, I came home and he was stealing power from my outlet. What?
Oh, my gosh. No way. That is genius. Oh, my gosh. What would you do? How do you react? How do you react? Yeah. How do you react? What do you do? What did you do? Unplugged it and threw it back up into his window, but he decided to steal power from the neighbor next door. Oh, yeah, because he was like, well, I can't steal it from there anymore. I guess I got to go somewhere else. Yeah. So he powered up his stereo so he could blast Beck, loser, on repeat. Oh, no. All night. Oh, wow. I'm a loser, baby. But he needed something to keep him awake because he was brewing crystal in his toilet, which started to leap into my house. Is that a true story, that part? Yes. Oh, wow. This is not real life. Yeah. Oh, wow. He was like, I took the call for Jay, because Jay was busy, and he was like, well, I have to pick one. And I was like, no, you need to sum up all three and tell us how this guy got worse and worse. Oh. Is this real life? Unfortunately, yes, little boy. It is. Could be a crackhead. Yeah, could be a crackhead. I mean, you have to consider that. Thank you. Thank you very much. Urge of the first time. I know that. Unbelievable. Hey, guys. Yes. I heard all that. And I have one that will top it all. What's that, loyal? That's right.
I once lived next door to a person that played mariachi music all night long. And I eventually found out his name was Mackie. Oh, yeah. Funny. You get it? Very funny. I learned that one in comedy class. Oh, yeah. That was very funny. Hey, y'all. Yeah. I have some advice for your show. Weird. And I thought, after putting a little, putting the, what do they call it, to the grindstone? Your nose. Nose, yeah. Whatever. After I was putting my nose to the grindstone and thinking about y'all's show, I figured out that what y'all need is street cred. Really? I need an example. I think we're doing okay, though, man, aren't we? No, you're not. You're not like the ethnic stations here in town. Oh. And the ethnic stations do real good. But we're not an ethnic. You ain't one of the 933s or the Channel 90? 90.3. Channel, what's it called? Screaming Z90. I think it's jamming. Jamming Scream 90. That's exactly right. You got to be like them or you got to be like the other shows, the Pee Wee's Playhouse, and you got to do the 933 stuff, man. You got to have street cred.
What do you know about street cred? This is what I want to hear. First of all, I can tell right now that Sienna has got a little bit of ethnicity to her. I can tell. I do. You know, I do have a little. There's got to be some in there. I'm as white as it gets, but I do have a little background. But you like hip-hop music. I do. So I know she does. Okay. Whitest person on the show. Lauren O'Brien. There's no doubt about it. 100%. If somebody on the show needs the street cred, it's the blondie over there. Looks like you just won a beauty pageant in Norway, sweetheart. It's so funny because I did. You did? Yeah. See, that's what I'm trying to tell you. Now, the best way to do it is for you. I'm going to teach you, do you know yo mama jokes? That's what y'all should do. Yo mama? Yeah, do yo mama jokes on the air. 1996? 1996? Those have been gone for like over 10 years. Oh, they've been there, done that, got the t-shirt, pal. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt is right. But that's part of the, see, part of the appeal, y'all, is that you are appealing to the street kids. There's a lot of kids out there that are tagging with spray paint right now that just want to know y'all love them.
Okay, so you think they want to hear the Yo Mama jokes? Yeah, they've got their Walkmans on, and they've got on their Air Jordans, and all they want to do... This is 96. All they want to do is hear about your stuff. They're listening to the Chaka Khan rap music and all that. No, Fat Boys. The Fat Boys, right there. The beatbox. Right. LL Cool J. Lauren, do you know how to get into your mama joke? I actually, I have a few. Contest? A contest? Is this like a battle? That's right. We need the Eminem 8 Mile music. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, I can battle you. All right. For shizzle, my nizzle. Yo mama so fat she eats wheat fix. I've never heard that in my life. See, that's a good one, right? You guys aren't supposed to laugh. That's a good one, you see? I thought it was going to be bad. Okay, okay, okay. That was pretty good. That was pretty good.
Well, you've got to spit some juice. Oh, okay, okay, okay. Spit some game at it. Okay, do I have to say yo mama or your mama? Yo. It's never going to work. Yo mama. Yo mama. Yo mama's so fat, she sat on a dollar and she made four quarters. She made change. I don't even understand what that meant. All right, battle. Yo mama's so fat. She has to put her belt on with a boomerang. I got one that's even better. You're not supposed to say I got one that's even better. You're just supposed to spit. Spit venom. You need to spit venom. Your mama's so fat, her belt size is the equator. See? It's because you ain't street enough. You're definitely not street enough. I want to hear the first one again. Your mama's so fat she broke her leg and gravy poured out. Your mama's so fat her blood type is rocky road. That's pretty good. Your mama's so fat she fell down the radio skit. Took a minute. Took a minute. I don't actually have any more. Your mama's so fat she stepped on the scale that said one at a time please. Oh my gosh.
Your mama's so fat she put on a black shirt and went in the ocean and they thought it was an oil spill. That's right. Your mama's so fat when she wants someone to shake her hand she has to give directions. I don't get it. I don't get it. Your mama's so fat when she wants someone to shake her hand. I can do it too. Your mama's so fat when she wears high heels she strikes oil. That's a good one. That's a good one. How about you hear the first one again in Hoyle's voice? Mama's so fat when she wears a yellow raincoat, people say, taxi. Hoyle, you know a ton of these, dude. Well, it's because I'm street credible. Where'd you get all this? Comedy school. Comedy school, y'all. Wait, which one? I got Douglas O'Brien. Oh, yeah, it's my uncle. Douglas O'Brien's was a comedy school back in Arkansas. Yeah, it was my uncle. He runs it. No, it was not. What do you know, Hoyle? What do you know, Norway? What are you trying to tell me about? Your mama's so fat, she's got to iron her pants on the driveway. Oh, gosh. I'm so fat. She eats wheat thick. Wheat thick. That's the craziest thing I've ever heard.
Mama's so fat. She puts on her lipstick with a paint roller. Oil, you're good. Stanky. You're slaying it today. Your mama's so fat. Mama's so fat when she tripped on 4th Avenue, she landed on 12th. Oh, my goodness. All right, one more, and that's it. All right. Fat. When the highway patrol pulled her over, they made her wear a mask and said, caution, wide turn. Wait, what did you just say? No, that one wasn't that good. You better end on a high note. You have one more? Come on, a good one. He's racking his brain right now. I'm trying to remember from Douglas O'Brien because it was only a four-day school. Let me see. Your mama's so fat, she fell in love and broke it.
There you go. That was good. Thank you, Moil. Moil slayed it. Mike, what do you think? Do you think we need more street cred? I don't know. I mean, do we really? I mean, we're doing pretty good. We're a rock station. I don't really know that we're lacking in street cred. Everybody is lacking in street cred except for Crazy Z90. They got it. Jamming. Right, right. And jamming. Yep. And station 933's got it. You know, because they play that kind of music, Matt. They've got it. That's what you need. That's not what we're going for. We're not like an ethnic. I mean, like, we have no problem, but we're not like an ethnic station. We don't play just, you know, one type of music. I don't even know if ethnic is like a very PC word here. Every once in a while, you got to throw out Chaka Khan. You got to put on some of the real stronger stuff. I don't know who that one is. Fat Boys. Fat Boys. Heavy D and the Boys. Heavy D. LL Cool J. LL is great. A-Z-E is good. A-Z-E. I'd put all that on. Slick Rick. Slick Rick. Don't know Slick Rick. Cool Keith. Oh, wait. Rick James would be good. Rick James. Pretty solid. Rick James would be great. In 87, he would have been great. So good.
Thank you, Hoyle. Your mom is so fat she eats Wheat Thicks. That's the greatest thing I've ever heard. Wow. Let's see. Wheat Thicks. That's the greatest. Did you guys see? Did you guys see? Oh, first of all, Jesse James. What's the latest on Jesse James? Sandra Bullock's husband? Yeah. Well, we all know about his alleged affairs. Not really alleged, but now he allegedly has four mistresses. Four mistresses have come forward in the Jesse James situation saying that they, too, have had a relationship with Jesse while he was married to Sandra. So what has he done? Well, his rep just announced that he has checked himself into a treatment facility to deal with personal issues. Sex camp. Sex camp. This didn't used to happen. Tiger started it, don't you think? Yeah. I've got a really, really hot opinion on this. Okay. I was talking to my friend, Mark Maumann. Yeah. And he and I were talking about Jesse James and Sandra Bullock. I don't know why, but we really were. Yeah. And he goes... A couple of girlfriends. Yeah, a couple of gals on the town chatting. Right. Well, he goes, Woodsy, I think I'm going to post on Facebook my feelings about this. I said, you should. You want to know what he said? What? He goes, dude, I don't feel bad for her. At all. For who? Sandra Bullock.
And I said, why? And I said, why? He goes, dude, you know who Jesse James' wife was before? Janine. She was an adult film actress. Yeah, he was married to her before. And he goes, these girls go marry these bad guys and expect them to be something different? Maybe he said he was. Just because she's all polished and is winning Oscars and all that. She's like, dude, the guy is what he is. Hello. Kind of a dirty dude. Hello. What, what, what, what? You're pointing at me. Did you not change your colors 180? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I did change my colors 180. But here I think is... The point was the guy's a dirty dude. He always has been a dirty dude. And he hasn't really, obviously hasn't changed a lick. Well, here's, and here's the deal. You know, with my changes, you got to see my changes. You have to see that there's actually changes. But how do you know that behind closed doors that's not exactly what he was saying? I'll tell you how. Because, you know, I think that you made a good point when you said, what if he says that he changed? Okay, let's say me and you are walking through the jungle. And we come across a tree and it's got this beautiful foliage on it. It's beautiful. It's got all these beautiful green leaves and everything. And you look up at it and you go, I wonder what kind of tree that is. And I go, I don't know. So I pull a branch down and I pull the leaves aside and we see bananas.
Now we know what kind of tree it is. It's a banana tree. Okay, before that, we could say whatever we want about this tree. We don't know, though, until we see exactly what type it is. And so as soon as you can see it actually producing something, then you go, oh, that's what type of tree it is. I don't understand that analogy. The analogy just means the guy, obviously, he has four mistresses. How much could he have possibly changed? Yeah, but she obviously didn't know that. And you got it when you're with him. You're either going to see. certain behavior that you either bury or overlook. That's the word I was looking for. Overlook. You're going to see some behavior that you'll overlook. You'll go, maybe that's just all men or maybe that's just him being him or maybe he's just going through something that guys go through at that age or. I can definitely change him because I'm different than the other women that he's been with. And, you know, men and women are guilty of this. Men do this. Women do this. So the way that you know is that he's not doing that anymore. He doesn't do that. When you're with him, he doesn't do that kind of stuff. You don't see it. It's not present. Because one thing that you could tell about people is they will show their colors. People will show their colors. You'll know who people are.
You know, there's no doubt about it. You find out if you're with somebody, you're going to know what type of person they are. Maybe she's a busy chick. She just won an Oscar. She's been doing a lot of movies. I just think it's disgusting. to turn around and point the blame at the girl. Oh, no, no, no, no, no. Hey, wait a minute. He didn't. Bauman said he didn't feel bad for her. He said, I don't sympathize. You marry a scumbag, you're going to get treated like a scumbag. And by the way, and I just want to say, I disagree with the sentiment of I don't feel sorry for her. I feel sorry for her. Absolutely. I think it's awful. Yeah, I do. I think it's awful what happened to her. And I also think that there is a point to be made in... women that are with guys right now, what are you seeing? You know, I think that's the point of the deal. Absolutely. What's present? What are you seeing?
You know what? You keep touching a hot pot on the stove and you keep burning your finger and you wonder why you keep burning your finger. But her whole interview with Barbara Walters, she said they want the same thing. They want to be home. They want family. This is what she saw of him. But this is what she saw. How do you say, though? He was running and gallivanting all over town, maybe while she was filming movies. How is she supposed to? Is she a VSP? And how is she supposed to say, we want the same things? We want to be home. We want to be home. But she's not at home. Right now is a hot time in her career. Maybe they've come to the agreement, okay, like, we've both been running around. What we want now is to be home. We want family. We want, like, I don't know if they have that daughter together. I think it's not his daughter. It's his and his ex-porn star wives. But that's what he's saying. He's like, you marry a dirty dog, you're going to get treated that way. And what is that? Because you make the point of the porn star, and that part, what do you mean by the porn star thing? What if Rebecca used to date a male porn star? Would you have dated her? Probably not. I wouldn't. If she used to be. Well, it's not. I can answer that easily. It's different. She could have married a axe murderer. And I would marry her if she's different. It's about her, not him. It would creep me out, dude. It's about her. It's not. You can't. It's not about who we used to be with. Persecute someone for who they were with before. Yeah, who they're with before. I mean, it's about them. So when Kim met me, I was a dirty dog.
I mean, I was, you know, I was a player. Womanizer. Write that down. Crazy. I wanted to change once I met her to be a better person because I knew if I didn't, I wouldn't, you know, I wouldn't be able to stay with her. Right. So you can't just say, hey, look, a banana tree. Because I was definitely a banana tree. Yeah. And I changed because I knew I was like, hey, this is a good thing. No, you weren't. You weren't, but you grew into a banana tree. You grew into a banana tree that you could actually see the stuff happening. You're a fruitful banana tree now. Well, yeah. I mean, I'm a fruitful banana tree. Write that down. Write that down. But Jay, I think we're making the same point. You're actually saying what I'm saying. Right. You used to be a dude that said all kinds. You could say whatever you want. You could go, I'm a banana tree. I'm a banana tree. Really? All I see is leaves. No, no, really. I am. I am. But when she was with you and you decided that you were going to change, right? You decided, I want to be something different. Suddenly, you became something different. Now, when she starts to see the something different, same with me. My wife, before we got married, she had to see changes in me. Actions speak louder than words. Same with me. I had to see changes in her. We both had to see changes in each other. The point of his story was just like, hey, I really can't feel super bad for her because he feels bad for Elan Woods. He doesn't feel bad for Sandra Bullock.
See, but I was still surrounded by all the bad things that I'd been doing and all the bad people that I'd been around. So she could have looked at me and said, hey, there's no way this guy's going to change. And six months in, I could have fallen back and for somebody to say, don't feel sorry for her. Look at that guy. He was a dirtbag the whole time. Well, Jay, my advice to her would have been. Wait until you see this guy, this guy Jay has changed. Absolutely. That would have been my advice to her. Yeah. You know, I would have never said to her, while you're hanging with the same dirt bags and you're hanging, if she's my sister, I'm going, hey, listen, you want to date this guy, great. But wait to see some changes in this cat. Right. I mean, look what he's up to. And then you did change. I mean, you met her, fell in love and said, I'm changing. Right. Because I love this girl and I want to be a different guy. And I think that was awesome. Yeah. I had to just move. I had to get out of there. It was like I had to leave town. Yeah. So you guys don't think that's weird? Like, I don't think I could date Jamie if she's to date some male porn star. Yeah, but also... I really don't. Could you? Can't help who you fall in love with. I think that Sandra Bullock, when she met Jesse James, I'm sure she didn't expect to fall in love with him. Sometimes stuff just happens. Oh, I think you can help who you fall in love with. I think so, too. No, I don't... Not always. Not always. I don't think so. You can't help the profession that they're in or their past. Yeah, you can't help that, but you can help...
Falling in love with somebody. Yeah, you can stop yourself and go, these are red flags. I'm going to turn away. Absolutely. But if she falls in love with his character and who she believes him to be, she might ignore the tattoos and the ex-porn star wife and, you know, any bad boy image that he may have had that he was trying to shed. He goes, you fall in love with a bad boy and you're going to get treated like a bad girl. He goes, that's my point. You fall in love with these bad boys and you expect them to be different because you're some... I see where he's coming from. 100%. I see where he's coming from in saying that. And I said that about Elin Woods. You're going to marry a celebrity. You're going to risk the chance of women throwing themselves at him more than any average man. But I'm saying Sandra Bullock, when she met Jesse James, obviously Jesse made her feel a way that she's never felt before. And you can't control that. But don't you think that there was red flags during that? Of course. Of course. But I think in her mind, and it happens to a lot of people, sometimes you just want to be the person that can also change that person for the better. You want to have that influence in their life to make them a better person. I know. But haven't we all heard the old adage? Don't think that you're going to change this guy. Right. Yeah. But maybe he was saying some people will. I mean, I was actually talking about this last night. I know people that will completely change.
based on who they're dating because they want to be that person. They'll be like, okay, well, this person's really spiritual. I'm going to be spiritual. And then eventually the true colors will shine through. But maybe this guy in his heart of hearts wanted to be like, I don't want to, you know, maybe he has to invite this, like what you guys all say you have this urge to procreate. But he's like, I don't want to do that. That was a dirt bag thing to do. I have a daughter now. I have a beautiful, talented woman that I want to treat. But he did it. But maybe he didn't sail. Maybe that's not what he was showing. And my point is, because I get what you're saying. I get what you're saying. I get what she's saying. But my guess is, is that if he was capable of having, if, if, by the way, I want to make sure I say, if he had four different, because right now what we have is a bunch of women. There's four women that have come forward. There are four women that are saying it. I don't know that they did, but they're saying it. Let's say that he did have an affair with four different women. My point is, is if you're that guy that has the four different women, you can't hide other aspects of your life. You can't be like, oh, good. You know, Mr. Good Guy be doing that. It's going to show in other areas that Sandra probably went. It's not that. It's not that. Maybe she was too busy to notice, which could be that. Like you said, I don't really feel bad for that. No.
I do. I feel sorry for her. That sucks. I feel bad for her that she is in pain. Yeah. I think that the lesson in it is if you're with someone and there are flags and there are, don't just ignore them. You have to look for them. Yeah, I mean. Sometimes a zebra changes its stripes or whatever the stupid saying is. I did. I did. I changed my stripes. I'm working on it. I changed my stripes. I am. But my wife saw behavior that used to exist and then she saw it the way I talked, the way I walked, the way everything about me, she saw a complete transformation. Maybe Sandra saw that too and maybe he went back to his old ways. You never know. Fair enough? Fair enough. Who do you think gets bigger tips? Bigger what? Bigger tips. D-I-P-S. Is it the blondes? Yes. Is it, does it have anything to do with bust size? Yes. Does it have anything to do with hair color? Yes. Yes. Over again, yes. Service. More. It's about service. It's all about service. You know, a lot of times in music, you're introduced to it by an older brother, a sibling, or a, you know, friend or something like that. I didn't discover, I had never heard one note from Stevie Ray Vaughan until I was in my mid-twenties. Really?
And when I discovered Stevie Ray Vaughan, it was like I had just struck gold. You're not a Stevie Ray fan? I'm from Texas, dude, and I'm not a Stevie Ray fan. How weird is that? I know. Why? I love the blues, man. I don't know, dude. I never liked his voice. Really? Neither did he. Yeah. He hated to sing. Yeah, he didn't want to. He could shred, though, obviously. He couldn't find anybody to sing. He hated his voice. He didn't want to sing. You know, Eric Clapton did, too. Same deal? He hated singing. Really? That's like me. So maybe deep down inside, I'm a crooner. You know what's funny about Pepper O'Brien? A lot. Pepper O'Brien doesn't think that she can sing, but when she imitates singers, she can sing. Let's hear your gaga. No, that doesn't count. Let's hear it. Pop, pop, pop, poker face, pop, pop, poker face. Wow. Dead on. That's not singing, though. It kills me. It's kind of like imitating autotune, right? It's like Tom Tom Girl. It is. Yeah. It is. Cornell University did a study on hot waitresses. It's a great study to be a part of. Imagine. I'm doing a study on hot waitresses right now. It was my thesis in college. Your thesis. Really burning the midnight oil here.
Well, what they were trying to discover was, does bus size have anything to do with it? Yes. Does hair color have anything? Yes. Meaning getting a lot of tips? Tips. Okay. What about your personality? They wanted to know. They wanted to know. Does a personality have something to do with it? Does age? Yeah, I was going to say age, I think, is a huge factor. Well, there's some surprising things that they found out. And some not so surprising things that they found out. Surprising thing they found out, you know, older waitresses actually get more tips. And waiters, too. It doesn't surprise me. Is it sympathy a bit? What is it? No, it's that they're usually. Because they do a good job? Yeah, exactly. They're usually pretty, like, well-versed in what they've been doing. And you don't think that they're going to screw up for me.
If I have an older server, I will tip them so much more than I will tip someone else because I can't help it. I feel bad. Really? You know what I mean? And I think that's what the Cornell study said. When we got pizza last week, we had an older waiter, and I just remember, like, man, I just felt bad. I think he was the owner, though. Yeah, and that's fine. Like, there's nothing wrong with doing that, you know? Plebeian waiter. Man, I did it, and it's rough. Like, I just, it feels bad. You do. That's why I tip all waiters a lot because it's a hard, hard job. Now, this won't surprise you, but they say that blondes get better tips. Weird. Yep. Yeah. I always attributed it to my sparkling personality, my customer service skills, my ability to just really relate to the customer on a person-to-person level. Had nothing to do with those crystal blue eyes and the blonde hair. No. Nothing to do with it. That firm, those firm buttocks. Weird, weird, weird. Really weird. Really definitely strange. And you're being inappropriate. Yeah, definitely. I actually got... Supple calves. All right, thank you. Got that part. Definitely creeping her out. You're sitting right next to her. You've been hanging out with Jay for too long. Man, I was going to say, keep going. I got props for my pepper grinding ability. Weird. I know. It was very uncomfortable. That's freaking creepy. That is.
It is. It's another good reason for the nickname. Grind. Yeah, it is. Grind. Grind. Pepper's at it again. Man, there's a lot of reasons for you to be called Pepper. It just works. So here's the other thing that they found out. It's like you were born to play this role. Here's the other thing they found out. They were talking to these waitresses about what they think of themselves. Surprisingly, blonde waitresses didn't really consider themselves to be more attractive. In fact, the blonde waitresses. actually thought that the brunette waitresses were better looking. Grass is always greener. I hate being a blonde. The brunettes did not think that. What's that? They thought they were better? Yeah, I'm sure. The brunettes thought that the brunettes were better? And so did the blondes. How crazy is that? But the blondes get the better tips. I have a theory. Go ahead. This is weird, and I'm just going to throw it out there. People aren't going to agree, but this is my theory. It's the pregnancy talking. Whatever. We'll just blame that. It's the new bit. We'll blame that. All right. Now, I'm talking from a guy's point of view. I think a guy will look at a blonde before they look at a brunette, but I think that there are more beautiful brunettes than there are blondes. There are more beautiful brunettes. A blonde will catch a guy's attention, even if she's standing next to the more...
The most beautiful brunette in the world. The guy will look at the blonde first. However, I think if you're talking about a beautiful, beautiful woman, I think that there's more beautiful brunettes than there are beautiful blondes. Well, I think that there's more brunettes in the world than there are blondes. So I think it would be fair to say there are more. There's pretty both, obviously. Don't get me wrong. But I just think, like, if you have a beautiful blonde next to a beautiful brunette, I think if you ask a guy, the beautiful brunette will win. Even though the eye will initially go to the blonde. I think you're right. Yeah, I can see that. And I think the blonder, the better. My wife has gone to more platinum blonde. Oh my goodness, I love it. Yeah. I love. You know what it is? She has pretty hair. I told you I did a social experiment. Well, accidentally. Because I was just tired of the blonde hair. Every blonde wants to be a different color. I was bored. I just decided to do some sociology in my free time. That's right. That's the plebeian voice. That is not my voice. If you see some connection, that's not my fault. What's that? If you see some connection, that's not my fault. Oh, we talked about this. Oh, I thought we did. So anyway, I did this experiment accidentally where I just dyed my hair darker and I got hit on at least 50% less with the darker hair.
Get out of here. I am so surprised you're not a brunette right now. I'm so surprised you're not a brunette right now. It's got to feel good, though, to have the attention. That's got to feel kind of good. Well, I don't put off the hit on me vibe anymore because I'm in a relationship. But this was back when I was single. And it was like, oh, it was such. And it was like people treated me more intelligently when I wasn't blonde. People would like actually look into my eyes and talk to me. But no, but I have read that it's like, it goes back to a fertility thing, like blonde and youth. Blonde hair is supposed to be like, I don't know, a sign of that. Sienna, you should do a social experiment. Okay. Where you duct tape the girls down. It's impossible. I've tried. Have you? Those beasts cannot be tamed. Yeah, that's right. They don't run in the family. They gallop. They gallop. That's right. My grandma told me. What's it like being hot? That's tough. It's a grind, dude. Really, it's a grind. Is it a tough life? Why don't you tell us, Mike? It's a grind. I want to ask listeners. I want to ask our hot M1s, male or female, what is the best part of being hot? I get free pie. Really? Yeah. Every time you go to Marie Callender? Anywhere. Yeah. You get free pie. Yeah. It doesn't matter, Mike. I could be at Chevron, okay? You want a piece of pie, Woods? Yeah.
You know I want some pie. 570-1949. You know I want some pie. 570-1949 is our number. 949mikey at gmail.com. Don't be shy. What is the best part of being hot? This has got to be for girls only. Girls will, yeah. Girls will pay for anything. What do you mean? Drinks, food, nothing. No way. Guys get it too. Is that it, ladies? I definitely get it. If you're a hot girl. Not like girls. If you're a hot girl, call us. 570-1949. What is the best part of being hot? I like what Woodsy's saying. It could be the whole... They pay for nothing. A lot of free stuff. They could sleep with whoever they want, whenever they want. They pay for nothing. Is that a best part to a girl, though? Yeah. Not for a girl. Both girls are shaking their heads. Not for a girl, but imagine if we were girls. Oh, you'd be awful if you were a girl, Woodsy. Absolutely. That's right. Well, if I wasn't married, I would be awful if I was...
girl but if i'm married but back in the day it's pretty bad as a dude i can't imagine what i'd be like as a girl that's right i'd never leave the house seriously you guys all think that but you it's totally different if you're a girl if you have a different mentality yeah girls are not chemically wired the same way they don't have testosterone coursing through their veins yeah does something yeah what does that mean this whole study about men having a larger sex drive and the man trance. It's just a theory. It's not a theory, it's science. No, all science is actually theory. What is your thing with it? It's one theory. So is the Big Bang. I do believe in the Big Bang, but I don't have to believe all the theories out there. You don't believe in this theory about men with the testosterone and that we have something harder to deal with than you? No. Talk to me. I just don't believe it. I think it's a social thing. That's what I want to know. There we go. Tell me about how you think it's a social thing. I think it's a social influence. I think maybe a long time ago, instinctually, men, I mean, we're all, that's why we're here. We're just hardwired to procreate. So you're saying in a different culture, like Eskimos, they're not horny. I don't know. I've never met anyone. Eskimo men are checking out those seal skins like you wouldn't believe. L-O-B.
More testosterone means testosterone is going to make you have those feelings. So the more testosterone you have, the more you're going to have those feelings. Is there an actual scientific link to that? Yeah. Really? Testosterone. It's a chemical. I thought it was more of an aggression thing than a sexual drive thing. It has a lot of things. It has a lot. Testosterone as a chemical does various things. One thing it does is produce hair where you don't have it on your face. That's one thing testosterone does. Testosterone does also create aggression that you don't have. Right. And testosterone also creates. Libido. Sex drive. Libido and sex drive. A libido and sex drive that women, you just. Well, and here's the thing. I have friends that used to take steroids. They took steroids. They popped the needle. And you want to talk about aggression. You want to talk about libido like through the roof. Now they took it for. For physical reasons. But I thought like reverse things would happen to guys. Like wouldn't they lose hair and get like a woman's Mike Tyson voice and stuff? No, no, but they're... Packages shrink. Yeah, they're boys. So what's the logic there? Boys would shrink because I guess it's just sucking all the testosterone. I think it's just messing with the hormones. You think that's what it is? Could be. It's like taking all the water out of a raisin. Those guys, yeah, exactly. Those guys were like... So the women on steroids then, they want sex more?
Now, see, women don't have testosterone in their body. What we're doing is we're just adding testosterone. We're doubling it. So you're introducing a foreign chemical. It's like if I shot estrogen, it would do weird things to my body because I don't have it in me. That's right. You know better than that. You know that. I've had testosterone shots before. Sure. Like not a pure testosterone shot, but I've had like cortisone shots and stuff like that where they're in them. Sure. Did anything happen? She started talking to me. Hey, and here's the deal. I don't think it's a cop out. And I would never say, well, I couldn't help it. I'm a man and I have testosterone coursing through my veins. But I think scientifically, we do have a larger sex drive, I think, than women do. I don't know why she's having a hard time. There are women that are horny. Like, does you think a man would? I do agree with the guys just because. Man, they can't control it. Allegedly. Allegedly. I don't think they can. We can. We can control it. I mean, it's just a science. You can control it. It just exists. It exists. And Lauren, you've said before that, like you've talked to Matt about if he were to see a girl walk by, you know, like girls can see that and we'll be like, dude, look at that guy. He's hot. But we can block it out and we don't think about it later. Guys will keep thinking about it. It's the mantra. They can't get it out of their heads. Well, for me.
To not look at women walking down the street, which now I do not. It's a discipline. I feel like a grasshopper on Kung Fu. Yeah. And I'm literally having, you know, in the beginning, it was a discipline. Yeah. Women don't have that. Like, Lauren's looking at me right now like that's. Completely alien. Like, in fact, it's so alien that she's like, I'm not sure I believe it. I check out everyone, though. She's speaking for a lot of women, though. And, I mean, I partially, too. Because it's for us, since we don't have testosterone, it's hard for us to be like, oh, really? You know, it just seems like that's the guy's excuse to look. You know? And, like, we don't have that desire. We can fight it. You know, we were, my wife and I were watching that show, The Pacific, on HBO. And we were watching these guys. that were walking through Guadalcanal. And they're walking through there and my wife goes, aren't they terrified? Aren't they terrified? And I said, they are trained to such a point that they are reprogrammed. Now, I'm sure that there's got to exist some level of fear, no doubt about it, that they've been taught to channel and use. Right. But they do have something.
in them, testosterone, that probably creates something different, you know, on the battlefield, in actual battle, which got me thinking about this whole thing about where we live. Because I was thinking about that here in San Diego, where we live, especially watching that show. Remember I was telling you that I got that music because the music to that TV show, that new show, The Pacific, got me thinking about where we live in San Diego and how we don't, sometimes we forget. That we live in a military town. And especially the Mikey show. We have a lot of M1s that are in the military. That have family that are in the military. I hope I don't get choked up, man. I'm telling you, man. My dad and Rebecca's grandfather got to France six days after D-Day. Wow. And walked that beach six days after D-Day. Powerful. Powerful stuff. And sometimes we forget that here in San Diego, we have men and women now who are coming home from deployments and who are going out to Afghanistan, even now. I saw someone come home on Friday. You did. And I was just driving on the freeway, and I saw the Explorer, someone driving an Explorer. The car was decorated. Welcome home, Dad, you know. And I drove by and looked in, and he was there in his uniform, and I got total chills. It was like...
He just got home. He hasn't seen his family in God knows how long. I have a nephew there. You do? I do. My nephew Joshua is there. I got to find this song for you. My dad was stationed in Camp Pendleton before he went to Vietnam. Really? First thing he did, he came back, went to La Jolla, had a Budweiser and a hamburger and said, it's good to be back. Good to be home. Oh, man. It's awesome. I bet, man. I bet. Men and women that are coming back right now, in fact. We were just talking about one of the deployments that just came back here. People still going there. A friend of mine just did this song that I want to play for you. And we'll go out to the song. It's called Thank You, Soldier. And especially here in San Diego, man. This is a cool thing. Thank you, guys. Thank you. Thank you. A million times. On FM 94.9. The Grammy Award. REI member rewards event. Can I help you? Well, I'm looking for a spacious, lightweight. Starts all over again on the 15 northbound before University Avenue. Multi-vehicle accident. Five cars involved. The pickup truck's over on the right shoulder. Then they've got about four cars that are stuck in the center divider. Bunch of debris all over the lanes. Looks like possible injuries here, too. An ambulance on the scene. 15 southbound Adams Avenue. There's a bunch of wood in the number five lane. And on the 15 southbound after Carroll Canyon Road, an accident, four-car accident. Looks like they've moved those cars, though, out of lanes. This report also brought to you by Advil. Get the facts and join millions who count on Advil for relief. And now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. If I like rock music, you bring up Hinder, the Hinder card, I can't go any further. Woods. I don't admit very often when I'm wrong. Lauren. I like looking at boobs. Sienna. I can hit some mean wiffle balls in our yard. And Jay. I can make 100 hush puppies in like 30 seconds. On FM 94.9. A lot of really cool comments on the Mikey Show Facebook page. M1 Tyler said, Mikey, I look forward to the show. Every time I drive to work in the morning, people don't know what they're missing out on. Thank you. M1 Shannon said, thanks, guys, for the song. I served in the Army for eight years. You guys are great. M1 Taylor. M1 Animator. M1 Animator. M1 Animator. Loved it. Said, great song. And people loving it. He's a man of few words. My brother? Yes. I love him. He's a big fan. Huge fan. I'm picking the music today, so we're doing a little music from my... This was the first...
album I think I bought for my own money. Mikey, do you know I burned through this cassette? You played it so much. I went and got another one. You burned it out? I burned through it, dude. So you had to go buy it again because it wouldn't play as good. It's the greatest piece of music ever put down on wax, dude. Ever. Great story with that album because it was so good. They took like eight years to make another record? Yeah. And the reason that they took eight years to make another record is because that album was so successful and made them such superstars and sold so many albums that they were afraid to make another record. You know what a dork I was for Def Leppard? My grandmother worked at a paper company and she would bring home these huge spools of paper. Like you would roll them out and I would literally get my crayons and write in huge Def. Def Leppard. And do it in the font. In the font of Def Leppard. D-E-F. The pointy font. L-E-P-P-A-R-D. I love it. It's like they were trying to do a sequel, though. That's why it took so long to release. Do you do a sequel after you've released The Greatest? They probably should have just hung them up. Did it go out on a high note? Yeah. I mean, you could have. Didn't get much higher than Pyromania, dude. Hysteria was a pretty big album. That's a jam, too. That's a great record. Pour some sugar on me. That's weak. That was a pretty big hit, though. So bad.
I didn't like, that's not my favorite. I love it. But I never liked, from Guns N' Roses, never liked the song. You're going to kill me for this. Which one? And I still, to this day, I think it's a dumb record. Don't say. Which one? Sweet Child of Mine. Oh, yeah. It's just overplayed, but it's a jam. For the first time I ever heard it, I was like. You didn't like it? I was like this. It's definitely overplayed. You know who else didn't like it? I didn't like that. You know who else hated it? Who? Hated it. Who? Slash. Really? He hated that song. He was messing around the studio, and he came up with that riff, and Axl flipped out. And he's like, what is that? What is that? He's like, nothing. I'm just, like, getting warmed up. Right. And for someone like him, that's, like, child's play. Yeah, that's, like, yeah, exactly, child's play. And he goes, Axl's like, no. Yeah, he's just messing around. And Axl ran and got a notepad and a pen. It was like, keep playing it, keep playing it. And, like, I read Slash's biography, and he was writing down lyrics, and it was, like, five minutes. I never got this record. This record? Or this song? This song. Oh, this song. Never got it. Heard this. I don't understand why everyone loves this so much. To me, it's kind of. It's okay. It seemed like childish. You know what my favorite song on that record is? What? Think about you. It was a throwaway. Nobody ever listened to it. What about, I was going to say, what's his favorite solo, the November Rain one? Oh, I love that song. I love it. Now, this was a jam from the very beginning.
I thought, this is a jam. Makes me want to run through a wall. Oh, yeah. Makes me want to pump my fist. If I was a major league closer, now entering. For the San Diego Padres, number 22, Steve Woods. I would kick the wall down. That's what you would come out to? Is that what you... Don't they, though? I feel like I've heard. Probably. I've announced this song a lot. Oh, I love it. That's pretty good. Yes, it is. Slash hard interview. Great guy. Great guy. Loved me. I loved him. Really cool to talk to. And I say that. I met him one time. He came in once. I only met him once. Couldn't make eye contact with him? No. But very hard to interview because he can't control the curse. Yeah. Can't. Can't do it. I mean, he'll be like, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Maybe if we ever got him again, maybe we do a prerecord with him. Yeah. Mike, you'd be like, so slash, what was the most?
Defining moment. Bleep, bleep, bleep, bleep. Seriously. By the way, okay, so we're going to do something really special where we release these bumper stickers that we have. The Mikey Show has new bumper stickers, and they are about the coolest thing I've ever seen. Phenomenal. Basically phenomenal. They're great. And we're going to be doing something where we're going to be giving them to you. And we're wrapping up the details with that and everything. Some people are rabid for these and they want them yesterday. And I totally understand that. I made a huge mistake. What? Huge. I posted on my Facebook because I took one yesterday when I left and I put it on my car. And then I got home and I realized I'm the only person in San Diego. I'm the only person in the world that has this bumper sticker on my car. It felt kind of cool. Yeah.
So I started running mouth about it a little bit. Oh, no. I had about 80, not running mouth, but like kind of bragging a little bit. I was proud. Of course. Kid's a team player. He's very proud. Right. Well, I got about 80 messages. Like, you better send me a bumper sticker right now. I'm going to slice you up. I bet. I'm going to wear your skin like a hat. Is that a promise? Well, here's the deal. We're going to put them. Now, this is in lieu of us doing a thing because we're going to do a thing where we give them out. Really soon. Really soon. But we have them available at the front desk right now. So if you come to the radio station and you want to get it at the front desk, you can. We're at 1615 Murphy Canyon Road. Or Murray Canyon. Murray Canyon. Murphy, Murray. Murray, Murphy, whatever. Tomato, tomato. Murray Canyon Road in San Diego. Seventh floor. I know. Oh, boy. Seventh floor. Oh, boy. Oh, boy. I know. Everybody just put their hands over their face like, the elevator's not going to work here. Oh, boy. Well, no, but I mean, if you don't need to have it right now, just know that we are all... Really? I know. Really? Like, there's a person out there that... I'm trying. I just mean... M1s. I just mean that really, really soon, we're working on the location right now to finalize everything. We are all going to be out in public for all of you to come meet all of us, hang out with all of us. It's going to be a really good time, and we're going to be...
giving you the bumper stickers ourselves. Frankie will be there. Frankie will be giving hugs. Dude, I'm going to give hugs. Exactly. I'm going to do the whole thing. Put them on your car, everything, man. I got one on my Trans Am right now. No, you don't. I do, dude. No, you don't. You know why? I'm the only one. I was going through your bag, dude. I found a... Perfect. I was looking for sunscreen, dude. I wasn't trying. So I found some sunscreen and I knew you had the Nivea. Yeah, Nivea's out. I need some new lotion. I put some new stuff in there. No, did you? I put some No Nivea in there for you. Are you serious? Yes. That's a... What does it say? Jay just came in holding something. The girl from... Remember yesterday we were talking about the guy that... The guy called in yesterday and his girlfriend went through his computer. Please tell me this is about the email. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, you mean World War III? World War III? Yes! How do we know? Jessica. Hello. This is the girl friend that went through the computer, went on your boyfriend's computer. Allegedly. Yes. Yes. Allegedly. Thank you. Right. Right. Right. You, your boyfriend's name is Matthew? Yes. He called yesterday and said that you went on to his computer and were Snoopy Loopy.
Snoopy doopy pudding pie. Well, you don't know that. He thinks... Really? Stop it. Stop it. He claimed that she does. She could have a really good reason, you guys. He said that his computer, he always logs off, which is really sketchy. And then recently, he's come on two times and the computer was left logged on. So what does that tell you? It means... Someone could have hacked into his computer. Right. It means that the computer bandit ran into the room. Hey, Matthew Broderick from War Games came in and hacked into his computer. Who just hacked into Woods' email? It happens, people. Shall we play a game? Is that what happened? It happens. Norad somehow got into just, you know. I'm assuming, what's her name, Jessica? Jessica, I'm assuming he's spoken to you about this. Um, no. Oh, you heard. I was actually listening to the show yesterday. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. I'm so sorry. How come you didn't call us yesterday? Just fuming. Well, because I know he's not listening today. Why? Because I just know his schedule, and I know right now he should be at work, and on Wednesdays he's got meetings. Got it. So yesterday you didn't call. Why didn't you call yesterday?
Okay, well, because basically the entire reasoning why I was on his email, and I'll admit, yes, I was on his email. Yes. But the reason I was on his email is a secret from him that I can tell you guys. I just kind of want to clear the air because I felt so guilty and I didn't do anything wrong. Basically, I had bought him. His birthday is coming up in like a week or two. And so I bought him a gift online, and I was wanting to send a picture of this gift. It's super cool, and I put a lot of thought into it. It's a kegerator. Oh! A what? It's a kegerator. It keeps beer cold. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I thought she said taggerator. I'm like, what is that? Kegerator. It's a beer with a tap. Yeah, yeah. Awesome. I know what those are. Oh, I want one. Yeah, they're super cool. And so I was so excited about it. And, you know, they're pretty expensive, too. So a lot of time, a lot of money went into this gift, and I want it to be a huge surprise. And so I was wanting to send a picture of it to my girlfriend and her husband. But I, you know, he was on my brain. And so I just accidentally typed in his email address and sent it to him. Oh, we've all done it. And so, you know, obviously I'm like, way too much time has gone into this. I don't want to ruin the surprises. It's a silly mistake. So I'm like, okay, I get on his email and I think, well, what's his, I don't know his password, but I'm like.
Well, you know, we've been dating long enough. I think I could probably guess it. So I just guessed his favorite sports team, and that's the one he was. Exactly. So, right. Really? It's usually, like, the sports team and, like, the year they were born. Yeah. Or their high school football number. Every guy right now just went, uh-oh. I feel it. I feel it. I'm going to change my password. Yeah, me too. Woods is Brewers 22. Yeah. Yanks 22. He's like, what are you doing? You just gave out my password. What do you want that? Is she still there? I heard a noise. Yes, she's there. Okay. I feel like a heel now. I feel like a jerk. Dude, okay. So, Jessica, you were able to get on, and so what? Did you delete it? Oh, yeah. I deleted it. I mean, so quickly. But I guess I forgot. I thought I clicked log off, but maybe I didn't. You know, I don't know. You're frantic, I'm sure. Did you go on it two different times or just once? Because he said he noticed two different times. Well, I logged on again later that day to make sure I had deleted it because I was just so nervous that it wasn't. I'm like, you know, I didn't want to ruin the surprise. Jessica, did you see anything else in there? Anything else catch your eye? No, I didn't even look. Yeah, I was in the neighborhood, but I didn't look at any other houses but the one I was going to. You guys, listen to her. She sounds like a rad girl. Oh, yeah, she does for sure. I want to be friends with her. Keyword is girl.
Yeah. Let's hear it from Jessica. I'm just stirring the pot. Did you just hear that laugh, Pepper? No. Did you hear that giggle she had? She's laughing. She didn't. No. Jessica? She looked at something. Did you look at anything else or that? I skimmed down the inbox. Yeah, of course she skimmed down the freaking inbox. Oh, my God. Of course you did. Was there anything that looked suspicious? No, there really wasn't. And so you're out and you're over it and you never will even go on his email again. Yeah, so her temptation is nothing. Well, apparently he's probably changed his password by now. Well, that's fine. Because now he's going to get a rad gift and he's going to feel bad about the whole thing. If he even gets the gift, because he's a little bit of a jabroni, if you ask me. I feel like this is the one and only reason in the... Like, you could have given me a million reasons. She just hit...
An asteroid with a needle. Okay, what about Santa's Easter basket theory? I was saying, did I, Jessica, I just want to say that I had your back the entire time yesterday. Jessica, I did too. No, you didn't. Jessica, I had your back the whole time. No, you didn't. You guys were all like, she stooped 100%. I had your back. I did not have your back, Jessica. So you know, I did not. The girls had your back. The girls had it. The girls had your bag. I did not have your bag. And you somehow hit on the one gajillion in a million thing. And I still am like. I'm sketchy. Whatever. Jessica, were you like screaming at your radio when you heard it yesterday? Or were you like sad? I was kind of more sad. Because, you know, there's nothing I can do about it for the next week and a half. He's just going to think I'm this jealous. you know, girl that, you know. Call him out. I mean, he's probably going to think like I'm the type of girl that if I got into his email, I would browse all his inbox. Skim down and look through the sense and look through the trash. Well, now what does she do? Does she not say anything and give him the gift or like he did something? I think she just did say something. I think she said it to thousands of people. He's not listening. Oh, nobody's going to tell him? Well, I don't know. All his boys are hearing her and him yesterday. They're probably going to, he probably knows now. Does he still get the gift after he?
didn't behave so badly. Oh, really? Really? Maybe he gets a pacifier instead for acting like such a big baby. I'm going to Facebook Todd and see what Todd thinks about this whole thing. Do it. I'm going to Facebook Todd. No, I can't. He doesn't have a Facebook. Why does he have a Facebook? He's not allowed. Yeah, Sienna, why does your husband not have a Facebook? Because he doesn't want one. Well, we'll make him one today. He's a good-looking guy. He's not allowed. I can already think of the Facebook profile picture. He'll post pictures of our soon-to-be baby. Oh, really? Yeah. Todd the God needs a Facebook page. Todd the God does not need one. And stop calling him Todd the God. He's Todd the Fraud. Todd the Fraud? People used to call him Todd the God, and it makes me really uncomfortable. I love it. I don't want to think about other girls in his life. Jessica? Yeah? I want you to put on the honest hat. Every once in a while on the Mikey Show, you'll hear me say these words. I'll either call it the honest hat or the honest cap, okay? So I want you to put on the honest cap, okay? Okay. Did you open any emails? You did! That is forgivable. She got the man a kegerator. Right. Those are hundreds and hundreds of dollars.
Crazy. Don't listen to him, Jessica. Don't listen to him, Jessica. You did the right thing. You did the right thing. I'm vindicated. Once again, I am vindicated. Vindication. If I already went from the medicine cabinet to look for a band-aid, might as well go through your prescription. Might as well take a pill. Crazy. Yeah, exactly. I'm crazy for feeling. Jessica, just ignore it. Just ignore it. You can ignore it. It's still true. That's what I do. Ignore it. Vindicated. Well. Unbelievable. Now she knows. Now she won't be tempted to go in because he cleaned up. Sienna, don't even try it. Don't even try it. Don't even try it. I'm not trying to fight. I just want to say, you guys say. It's in us. It's our testosterone. We have to check out the girl's rack if she walks by. We have to think about her all day. Maybe it's in girls that, you know, sometimes we do a couple things here and there, too. We can overlook your crazy, awful things. Can't you just, like, maybe just accept some of ours? Crazy. Yep, perfect. Mike, Mike. Prosecution rests. I have no further witness. You guys! That moment, that moment, that moment was just great of me saying, put on the eyes cap.
Did you open any emails? Little pause. And it said it all with... Okay, Mike. Okay, Mike. Let's say you did the same thing. You accidentally sent something to Rebecca, the gift of the century. I didn't even gotta do that. You went into her inbox and you see a little email from Tad Belchick. You're like, who's Tad Belchick? You're like, hey, Tad Belchick. Maybe I'll just open it and see. I can't hurt. I can't hurt anybody. I swear I don't look. I'm talking to Mike. Do you look? I don't go in the email. Okay, hypothetical. Dude, you guys 100% what? Asteroid with a needle. I... If there was a sign on a plate of freshly baked cookies that said don't eat, you're going to reach and you're going to grab that crispy on the outside, soft in the middle, chocolate chip cookie, and then you're going to go for a glass of ice cold milk. I have a question. Mike, answer the question. Don't answer the question with a question. Your Honor, she's badgering the witness. I have to have clarification. She looks so uncomfortable. I have to have clarification. What does the subject say? Very vague.
What did it say? What did it say? No, no, no. That's what I'm saying. If I'm going through Rebecca's email. No subject. Just read. Read with a colon. It says read. Read with a colon. So there's no subject. There's obviously, there's been some correspondence there. 100%. Great, great call. I hate you. You would look. No, you wouldn't. I don't know. He wouldn't look. He wouldn't look. I swear I wouldn't. I wouldn't. I would never go in. You know what I would say? If you were on there. No, here's the deal. This is really ridiculous because what I would say is. Who's Tad Paycheck? Paycheck. I would have said, hey, honey. I would have said, hey, honey. Who's Tad? I'm an idiot. And you know why I'm an idiot? Because I sent you your birthday present early. And I'm sorry that I blew the surprise. But there's an email in there. And I'm an idiot. I'm sorry. Happy birthday. I wouldn't have been.
I need to call the phone company, get her number, hack into her phone. All right, all right, all right. But this girl put in so much thought and effort. Big deal. She's savvy. It is. Obviously, to her, it's a big deal. Dude, I planned a surprise party for my wife. And even if I blew the surprise, I still would have told her. I wouldn't have snooped into her privacy, man. I cannot believe what I'm seeing on the line right now. What, what, what, what, what? There's another Jessica on the line that wants to tell this Jessica. She should dump him. Oh, my God. Jessica, are you there? Other Jessica, are you there? Yeah. Go ahead. I think he's insecure. Turn down the radio a little bit. Turn your radios down. All radios down. There you go. Go ahead. Go ahead. I think he's insecure. I think if he's calling the radio station to ask if he should break up with you because he thinks you're checking on him and spying on him, he's insecure. It's just going to lead to problems. You went to look for a guest, it shouldn't be that big of a deal. If you look at his email once in a while, you guys are going out. You would have done it too, Your Honor. Yeah, I think that's stupid. You'd have done it too? Your Honor. Yes. First of all, he wasn't calling to break up with her. He wasn't curious as if he needed to break up with her. He was just curious as to, what do I do? Because he's acting sketchy. No, he wasn't, obviously. I think Jessica had a right to open one of them. Pepper. In the dude's defense.
He's not doing it. It says Jessica. She didn't find anything in there fishy. He's not doing anything wrong. So he thinks, OK, I should be completely trustworthy. There's no reason why she shouldn't trust me. And she just went rifling through my email. So maybe he's like, dude, if this is a trust issue, like maybe I nip it in the bud now. So obviously, once Jessica explains herself, he's going to be like, OK, it's not a trust issue. It was a misunderstanding. But I have I think he has a valid point to be like, hmm, little red flag there. Of course. Who checks their login that closely? Excuse me. If you don't ever log out, say that for crying out loud, Jessica. It makes me so tense. Someone dropped a bad word. She dropped a bad word. Jessica, Jessica, you got very excited there. You got very excited. Jessica number two had to go. Oh, we got a break. We got a break. Jessica number two got very excited. Jessica number two. Very worked out. We got a break. All right, I got it. Can they, like, hold on? Hey, can you hold on? Can you hold on, Jessica's? J-squared's? Yeah, can the Jessica's hold on? And can we get Jessica Rabbit on the line while we're at it? Yes. Please. Hang on the line. Maybe Jessica Hahn. Maybe Jessica Simpson. Unbelievable. Wow, this just got real interesting. I can't believe it. How dare you pull that on me? I am hopping around the studio. I know you are. I like Tinkerbell. How dare you pull that on me? Mikey would open it, too. He wouldn't. He wouldn't. I know Mikey. He wouldn't.
I know Mikey. Mikey would not. He knows Mikey. If I saw some email from Tad somebody that I've never heard Tad somebody in my life, who's Tad Belichick? You would not open it. He just said he would. He wouldn't. I didn't say I would. I thought I would. You trust Rebecca. I do trust her, but who's Tad Belichick? Look at you. Lauren is jumping. Lauren O'Brien. We'll be right back with us. Acceptance. Every single song on this album is good. Good stuff? Oh, it's so good. You know how I found this band? How? For some weird reason, I was playing a video game. And I say, for some weird reason, because I can't play video games, I get nauseous. Nauseous. Also known as nauseous. I get nauseous. There's a baby elephant in the room. And one of them, a song came on. And it was from this band, Acceptance. And I was like, I love it. That's how I discovered Snow Patrol. Is it really? From a video game, yeah. From a video game? Yeah, from a video game. I was like, man, that's a jam. And then I went and looked up all their stuff and loved it. That's cool. It was great. Jessica, you still there? I am. So my question to you is, are you going to tell Matthew, your boyfriend, that you knew his password? And of course, like I said earlier,
People have probably already texted him and told him or called him and told him. But will you openly discuss this with him? I think what I'm going to do is if no one has told him, because, I mean, I did say on the air that, you know, it is a, you know, it's a birthday present. Obviously, it's a secret, which is why I didn't tell him directly. So but if people don't keep their mouth shut and they do say something to him, then, you know, I'll wait till he approaches me about it because then I'll know he knows. And then we'll talk about it if he doesn't. Then I'll wait until his birthday, give him his gift, then tell him this whole hilarious story. That's hysterical. BTW. Yeah. That's hysterical. Jessica, thank you for being patient, for calling in, and for being an M1. We appreciate it. Thank you, guys. Bye. Bye, Jessica. Bye. Crazy. She's not crazy. She's not. Don't play it. Don't play it. Don't play it. Don't you do it, Michael. I'm going to be mad. Ah! Tad Belchick. Tad Belchick. How dare you. You would check. Tad Belchick. Tad's email. Well, first of all, I don't think I would because I'm like, well, the guy's name is Tad. Yeah, no worries there. There's not enough Tads out there. You know what I mean? But that's why you're worrisome.
We're going to get a good friend on the phone here in just a second. Chris Cantore is going to be on with us. And for a lot of people that are fans of San Diego radio that you know that name and have probably wondered, where has Chris been? We will talk to Chris, find out what he's up to. And Chris actually did a really cool story on the Mikey show right when we were coming on because he's writing and he's a very good writer. Very good writer. And so we're going to be talking to him in just a couple of minutes. Stick around. Man, I cannot believe that Sunday's Easter. Yeah. I don't, like, I wrote my wife this morning in a panic. Have you done your Easter shopping? No, I wrote her in a panic this morning. I go, what are you doing for Easter? Here comes Peter Cottontail. Seriously, like, I don't, like, most people have probably already. figured out like what they're having for dinner or whatever. Is Hooters open on Easter Sunday? Really? Is it? Really? Really with the Hooters? Would you come right on over, buddy? I'll pick you up. Here's the deal. Listen to this. Here's the deal. Bunch of baloney. Here's the deal. I love you guys. I do. Each and every one of you. I love you. Leave me alone on Easter Sunday. Yeah. Okay? Baseball. Leave me be.
Leave me be. He's not coming over. If you come to my house, the game will... It doesn't matter. Mike's tried it. Mike's got a 9,000-foot TV with high def. It's amazing. Won't come over. My family gets really rowdy. I can't watch. And if my wife is listening, maybe she could call in to verify because I can't watch those games around other people. What time is the game? I think 4 o'clock, 5 o'clock. Come over before. We do midday. Oh, you guys, if somebody does a midday, I might be like a noon. We're doing brunch. You are? Oh, brunch I'm in. We're doing a brunch, and we're going to make Dorian's peppers with bacon wrapped around them and cheese grits and turkey. And are the rest of you, would the rest of you be upset if I went to just Jay's? Do I need to come to everybody's? I can't offer you a brunch. You can't offer me a brunch? No, because we're- If you can offer me, if you can come to the table with a brunch, you know, we'll see what happens. You got a brunch, anybody can do better than your brunch? I could get- I could get you really good stories. to make fun of me about. That's easy. Many of us can do that. I'll do that on Monday. You guys, you meet the grandma? The grandmas? I met the grandmas. They'll be there? You haven't met the grandmas, really, though, in full effect. Mike, I'm going to break your heart. What? I haven't celebrated Easter in a couple years. In fact, it's come and gone. Really? Easter Bunny doesn't visit me anymore because I'm too big. My mom is sending me an Easter card with money in it.
See, my mom, I would break my mother's heart as well if she knew. But, yeah, I'm like, oh, crap. It was Easter last week. When I studied abroad in Spain. Not a girl. You were experimenting. We get it. It's fun. When I was in Spain, I was there over Easter, and my mom sent me an entire huge basket. That's sweet. I was like, I love it. I love it. Because my mom is so over the top, I mean, Todd's getting something from me for Easter. I don't mess around. I sent Jamie a CD. You did? Yeah, I made a mix, a California mix. What, bunny songs? No, dude, it's a California mix. Here comes Peter Cottontail. Look at him, defeated, total defeat. Hopping down the body trail. I mean, just checked out right there. Hip hop hooray. I made a mix of all California songs. All the songs are titled California or have California in the title. But that's not for Easter. It's for Easter. I see the correlation. Totally. Isn't it apparent to everyone? Oh, no. Uh-oh. No. No, no, no. No, no, no. Here comes the avalanche. Eject. Eject. Eject. Manson lambs. Manson lambs. He's upset. I can't do anything right. And he doesn't have his lotion to start lotioning because he ran out. I can't have no lotion. You're okay. It's good. We love you. O'Brien's having to hug you. Show on your straw.
There's a straw. Chew on it. There you go. We got a good friend on the line. And for those of you that are fans of San Diego radio and have listened to San Diego radio for any length of time, you are familiar with the name Chris Cantore. And we got Chris on the line. Chris, how are you, man? Yeah, Mike. What's up? How you doing, dude? Tremendous. Yourself? Good. You're going to laugh at the fact that I am going to try surfing. Are you serious? Dude. Can you believe that? You didn't call me. Well, here's the deal. Jay is a surfer, right? He's legit. He's legit. He is legit. And so he's a surfer, and Woods wanted to learn how to surf. Right. So I went down to video it, and I go down there to tape it. I'm taping it. Where did you guys go, first of all? Did you go down the shore? Went to the pipes. Pipes. Okay. Oh, just pipes, sorry. Not the pipes. Is it pipes or the pipes? It's pipes. Pipes. You're a Barney. I know. I'm a Barney. And so I taped it, and it looked fun. And they were, like, telling me to try it, telling me to try it. I'm finally like, okay, I'll try it. So I'm getting a wetsuit today. You're going to be great. Are you kidding me? Dude. Are you getting a spring suit? Getting a full suit? He's getting a full suit. All I know is that I was like, do I have to go to, like, a specialty shop for short Mexicans?
Do they have like even a suit for me when I walk into this place? I don't even know. You'll be golden. They do have a variety of sizes. I mean, they take care of the short Mexican. Trust me, if you're a six foot five, 260 pound Italian. Awesome. Nice. Cantor, you'll appreciate this. Bird is helping us out down at South Coast. He said to say hello that you're one of his main bros. Yeah, Bird is what you call a surf brother. That's cool. Bird is amazing people. And even the last couple of years, Bird and I have connected and grown closer. I've spent a lot of time speaking of surfing in the water. Just when I got off the radio, that's kind of where I found that. That was my happy safe place. And Bird and I got super close the last couple of years, closer than we've been. I've known Bird for like 20 years. Chris, what's the learning curve? How long did it take you until you were like, all right, I can do this? Oh, man. You'll get it probably 10 to 15 years. Yep. Oh, my. Are you kidding me? Mikey, look how good you're doing with golf. I have a thing where I take people out, and I'll tell them I can get them up, standing and riding a wave after five tries. Give me five tries, I'll get you out. That's about right. Before it sticks.
You know, I also compare, like, have you ever played guitar, Mike? You've played guitar, right? Yep. He noodles. It's the same trip. You know how with guitar when you're playing and then all of a sudden the chord sticks and you're like, whoa, I don't know what happened there, but it sticks. It's the same with snowboarding. It's the same thing with surfing. Just one day it's going to stick. You're going to find your groove and you're going to be like, oh, never again. You're hooked. But that means that the first four times I surf, I can expect to not be. Pretty. Yeah. No, you're going to get beat up for, honestly, man. It's going to take a while before you get that and you find that groove. Chris, I went last Friday. I went last Friday with Jay and got killed. I mean, just killed. Yeah, you'll get killed. I got killed. You will. But that's part of the growing curve. You know, it's part of it. And it's also extremely humbling. And that's what I, and spiritual. That's what I get out of it. There's no doubt. That's what I told Mike. I said, I told Mike, I said, hey, dude, if you never get up on a wave and we're just paddling out in that water. Hanging out, it's cool as can be. I've cried out there before. Rebecca looked at me, though. When I told Rebecca about it, Rebecca looked at me like, great, is this going to be another $300 one-time investment? You buy a wetsuit, you get in there, realize the water's cold, and then you never put it on again. You skedaddle out. When you make that initial investment, it's free every other time. It's the most fun you can have. Completely free and just so connected to the earth.
It's cool. Chris, tell everybody what you've been doing and what you're up to. Essentially, since I haven't been working in radio in a full-time capacity or what have you, I've really thrown myself into the world of online media, for lack of a better. I completely embrace technology, new media, and that is my new home. And I have a lot of projects that I'm involved in and just kind of put all my resources and time and content into these different platforms. And it's an exciting world, but I'll also say in the same breath, extremely challenging because it's a new terrain, if you will. Yeah. And Chris is a brilliant writer. Where can people find you? Where can people see your work? Yeah, I mean, I usually just send people straight to my own personal website, and then I can filter people to just different places and different projects and things I'm involved with. So I'll just start off by saying, Justin, thank you for the kind words. But chriscantore.com, just C-H-R-I-S-C-A-N-T-O-R-E.com. And that's where I store the majority of my stuff, but it filters off into different areas.
Just this year, I signed on with NBC, the local NBC affiliate, and I've been kind of curating and managing a music platform for them by the name of San Diego. So that's another place where I do video and blog submissions, and I have some friends working with me, and we're building a little community. It's awesome. That's cool, man. It's awesome. That's cool, and I'm guessing it's kind of what it sounds like. Do you do stuff on music that's going on around San Diego, that kind of thing? Absolutely. Yeah, and just share personal experiences because as a member of the community for almost 25 years now, I'll just kind of connect things that I've experienced in the past to present day regarding music, venues, events, things going on around town. It's awesome. I really love it just because it's just obviously doing what I love and why I got into radio in the first place. It was all about music for me. Plus, when I was a kid, I always dreamed about music. writing about music, and I worship people like Cameron Crowe. It was kind of like a full circle thing for me, where even at San Diego State, I wasn't like a broadcasting major or a radio or TV and film guy. I was a creative writing major. And what did I write about? Music. You know, one thing he said, man, I just moved here, obviously, from Dallas. Sure. You know, the cool thing about this town is how proud everybody is to say,
Man, I've been here 25 years. It's a big city, but it's not. It's a really small, tight-knit community. Absolutely. My wife was like, why don't you fly home for Easter? I was like, no way. I'm not leaving. I was like, they will bury me in this town. I swear. I love this place. I've never been happier. Yeah, it's kind of a trip. It is. recently with somebody. It's like, how long do you live in San Diego before you can really call yourself a local? You have to be born and raised here. Is it three years, five years, 10 years, 20 years? At what point? But I know for me and my wife, who is a local, born and raised, went to high school, El Cap, Lakeside, what up? And holla. Yeah, so I mean, for me, it was like, you know, even when it came to losing my gig, and I did, you know, and kind of... Looked at different things, you know, in other places from Seattle to New York to Chicago. And it was always like, man, I'm not leaving San Diego. It's a hard place. I feel the same way, man. And I just got here. Anytime you go to town and you come back in and you're flying back into the airport, you're like, no. Yeah, usually you're bummed. Like, usually you're bummed to get home. You're happy to be in your home, in your house with your stuff. But you're bummed to be in your town.
When you're flying back in and you see the city, you know, depending on what side you're sitting on the plane. And how about when you get off the plane and you walk outside and you're like, oh, it feels so good. I got in my car when I flew back from Dallas and I was driving home and I was on whatever that highway is. I still don't know what the hell I'm doing here. So I still have my Tom Tom. But I was driving the window down. I was just like. This is the greatest place ever. The greatest place ever. It is. If you want to visit Chris's website, chriscantore.com. And he is. He's writing for NBC's website here locally. You can see him writing about music and what's going on in the music scene and all that stuff, right? That pretty much sums it up. I'm all over the place. Twitter, Chris Cantore, Facebook, the whole deal. Really into the whole interactive media thing. I love the platform. And it's tremendous, man. Do you guys have stuff going on with music, local artists, doing anything, want me to come down? I'll bring down a flip, shoot a little thing, get a submission, take some pictures, put it on the site. Always there for you guys. Thank you, dude. I appreciate it, Chris. Good talking to you, man. All the best, man. You guys have a good one. Thank you, bro. We'll see you. He is a local, and he is a local. Yeah, dude. So when can I be a local, you guys? You got some time. Just relax. Yeah, and I think you will be. Can I be a local now? No. You just said you still need a TomTom.
Yeah. Yeah. I think that I need a Tom Tom in Dallas, though. I'm an idiot. It won't take you long. You'll be. I mean, once you start knowing your way around this place and I'll tell you what it is, though, man, it's just loving it. Yeah, I love it. You're getting like you've made a lot of progress big time. Like the way you're dressing is looking. You know what I mean? Yeah, Garrett did. He called me out. You're dropping in some gnarlies here and there. He said, Woods, I like your flip flops, pal. Back in Detroit, we couldn't wear flip-flops. It was too cold. I'm talking to our program director, Garrett, yesterday. Oh, wow. Right? Dr. Evil. Dr. Evil. He looks like Dr. Evil. Exactly. And I'm talking to him yesterday, and he says, he goes, we're having a conversation about I don't remember what. And he goes, you're probably going to kill me on the air for this tomorrow. But, and he paused, and he paused, and he's thinking, and he's like, can I do that? Can I say? He's thinking how to do it. And he goes, back in Detroit. Yeah. That's going to be the name of my first album. It's going to be called Back in Detroit. I want to record a conversation with Garrett. I love the guy. You're priceless. I go, you sound like you're doing an imitation of Garrett. Of yourself. Back in Detroit. I know we're breaking, but how about yesterday when he was telling us the story when he was in the grocery store? Our program director Garrett. Somebody goes, you look just like that guy from Seven. And he goes...
Which one? And I looked at him and I go, Brad Pitt. Yeah, Brad Pitt. Morgan Freeman. He looks just like Kevin Spacey. Yeah, and he said to this lady, he goes, do you mean the serial killer in that movie? Because I had a dream last night, or the night before, that Garrett was going to kill me and take all my organs. You actually did. Yes, I did. I told him that and he goes, funny story. Back in Detroit, I took somebody's organs. Over at Ralph's. Yeah. You know, in Seattle, I took Tommy's organs, and then I brought them back four times. People are going to like this. The Mikey Show. It's a good time. You know what I mean? Call 570-1949. If you're near the webcam, please go, Mikey Show. First of all, his self I don't think was the right form there. He's slapping his self. He's slapping himself. Little White Stripes from the Seven Nation Army. Welcome back to the Mikey Show. That's two people making that sound, by the way. I know that. That's two people. There are two people on the White Stripes. Nasty drummer. Yeah. Nasty guitar player, too. Nasty foot bass player. Yeah. Whatever that is. I think that's what they do, right? Isn't it like a foot bass thing? How do they do the bass? Is it like a loop that they do? Every drummer has a foot bass. Really? Yeah.
Oh, yeah. No, no, no. I'm saying the guitar player plays a bass that's like a pedal. Oh, maybe. Yeah, yeah. You know, the Doors used to do, he played the bass organ. He'd do a bass line and then play the regular stuff, which is really hard. What are you looking at? I was playing the bass up here. You're on mushrooms. Yeah, you are. Sorry. Hey, speaking of. Speaking of mushrooms. Speaking of psychedelic mushrooms. Where's this going, Mike? It's a daily Mikey Show topic. Yeah, it is. Did you hear about this dude in England that decided that he wanted to rob some money? And who did he end up robbing, Sienna? You know, just a room full of cops. True story, yeah. It would have been your luck. It would have been the big heist for the kid. Yeah, this genius, Mark Jimenez, he was in Britain, and he went to a police party at London's Elk Bar. He saw one of the detective's bags in a room full of cops, let me just remind you, decided, I'm going to take that thing, and I'm going to run out of here, and I'm going to steal it. Dope. He got tackled by at least 40 officers before he reached the door. My God. Yeah, 40.
I wonder what that 911 call might have sounded like. Hello, emergency services. What's your emergency? This is awful what happened. Oh, dear, what's happened? I just robbed a bag full of money from some police officers, and they are apprehending me and attempting to take the money back. Oh, bugger! Thank you. Can you describe to me what has happened? Yes, I... Well, I came in armed and stood these fellows up and took a bag of cash, loot, money, and made off with it. And they came chasing after me. And if you believe this or not, they actually tackled me to the ground. That is dreadful. Yes, actually. Yes, actually, actually scraping my knee.
Oh, my goodness. Yes. How are you doing, darling? Now, terribly, terribly. It hurts. Oh, imagine if you have the Mercurichrome. If you send any emergency help, have them bring Mercurichrome. Okay. It's some sort of a solvent that you put on. Right, that's no bother. Darling, where are you located? Willowberry Square, dear. Willowberry Square, okay. I think that we can get... Services over there right away. Thank you so much. Thank you so much. You sit tight, darling. You're such a dear. Let's have tea later. Oh, absolutely. You're a wonderful dear. You remind me of my nan. Oh, thank you. Quite a compliment. Thank you. Okay, darling. See you later. Bye-bye. Cheerio. Cheerio. Brilliant. Absolute bollocks. That's right. It's bollocks. You want to know what Carrie Underwood and Woods have in common? Oh, God. Besides everything. We both hooked up with Tony Romo. Yeah, both fell in love with Tony Romo. They both have wood in their name. That's true. That is true. Something else, too. They're both very dynamic and attractive. Yeah, and they've both carved their name into the side of their pretty little four-wheel, jacked-up four-wheel drive. They both took a Louisville Slugger to both headlights. That's right. No, they actually do have something in common, right, Sienna? Yes, they do. What is it? Carrie Underwood.
who is marrying Mike Fisher, the hockey player, this summer, has let the world know that her little dog, her rat terrier ace, will be in her wedding. Oh. Yes, he's going to be. Your dogs were in your wedding? Yeah. You know that. I didn't know that. You know that. I did not know that. Wait, how many dogs were in your wedding? You know that. I did not know that. You knew that. I didn't know that you had your dogs in your wedding. Well, here's the deal. Since it's so normal. Dude, you had your little Yorkies. Were they ring pairs? No. Your teacup little Yorkies? Yeah. They were his best man. How did you have him in the wedding? Here's the deal, dude. We got married at my parents' lake house. Don't pipe. You don't have to pipe. Hey, we got married at my parents'. We were at the lake. Dot club. Most people would say, oh, we're getting married tonight. We'll leave the dogs. We'll see them tomorrow. Not us. We brought the dogs with us. They had been groomed and cut, and they were really sweet. Of course. They used Jamie's dress for a bed. They looked really pretty. So we walked, you know, I was down there. Jamie walked down. We did the bit. We did our bit. Yeah, I do. Great. Yes. Yeah, I do. Great. Yeah, she does. Great. Here's the whole thing. And then like the rest of our lives. Yeah. Yeah. So we turn around and Tessa, who's my sister-in-law.
Was holding them, and she gave them to us, and we had them, and we got pictures with them. All four of them? Three. You walked down the aisle with them? She didn't walk down the aisle with them. I wanted her to, but she didn't. Did they bark? No, they were angels. They were always angels. Were they on a pillow? No, they were not. Tessa was holding them. They were on a silk white pillow? We had pictures taken. She was holding three dogs? I think my mom maybe had one, but they were there. They were at the ceremony, in the ceremony. Did they cry? Yeah. Like in a thimble? Did they cry? What did you put him in? In the cup? Surrounded him with love. No. Did you put him in an Adidas? A rose bed? Yeah. Did you put him in a rose bed? Eject. Everybody eject. Run, run. Eject. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no. Look out, look out, look out. He's getting mad. He's getting mad. He's getting mad. Okay. He's getting mad. It's okay. Deep breaths. Deep breaths. Oh, there he is. Okay, don't worry. I'm crazy. Carrie Underwood said that her dog Ace is like her child. Yeah, fair enough. Of course my child would be in my wedding. Exactly. Hey, here's the deal. We don't have any kids. Those are our children. That's your bit. That's our bit. Fair enough. Those are our babies. That is fair enough. I would kill for those dogs. All right. You know that. I know, but you get a little... His face when he said that, I would kill for those dogs. Every muscle tightens and he just gets... The babies are coming soon. Yeah, they'll be here next weekend.
All of them? So I get to meet two of the dogs? You met two of them already. I have not. I saw the other two coming. What's he? They were in the studio. Remember, they jumped into the purse. That's right. Rebecca, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. Rebecca, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Do you have your anniversary tattooed into your arm? What's your anniversary? No. He said, that's a really good idea. What's your anniversary? February the 10th. Are you sure? What is Rebecca's birthday? What is Rebecca's birthday? Dude, please. 12, 375. He's got it on his arm. He covered it up. Covered it up with a Batman symbol, practically. That's hard. Go ahead, quiz me, bro. What's Mama Jean's birthday? No one knows the in-laws. No one knows the in-laws. No one does. Your mom's birthday, April 4th. That's right, because it's the day after Sienna. And Rebecca's is the day after mine. Your mom's is on Easter. And your dad's is the day after Woods. That's right. I know birthdays. When is your wife Jamie's birthday? September 28, 1971. What is your anniversary? November 2, 2008.
Where did she go to high school? L.D. Bell, Captain of the Cheerleaders. You know that. Where did she go to college? Stephen F. Austin, Axum Jax. What is her email password? What's her best friend's name? She's got a group of them. They're called the Black Sheep. You got Kyrish, you got Elise, you got Kim, you got Dawn. Yeah, you know what else they're called? The Vodka Hens. Yeah, the Vodka Hens. Boy, those broad-skinned drinks. Was she in a sorority? Yeah, she was Kyo. You know that. How old was she when she got her first boyfriend? No, her probably seven. How old were you when you got your first boyfriend? Just a joke, dude. That's all. It's just a joke, man. I was messing around. Very funny clown. 34. Yeah, it hasn't happened yet. Besties. I got 13 things that your grocer won't tell you. Did I say that right? Grocer or grocer? I think it's grocer. Grocer. Grocer. Grocer.
All right, people. It's grocer. Shop at dinnertime. Bookworm. 5 to 9 p.m. or even later. Yep. What? Yeah, only 4% of shoppers will be in the aisles between 9 p.m. and 8 a.m. Of course. Every time I go, it's crowded. It seems like it doesn't matter what time. Mikey's been asleep for four hours at that point, though. Yeah. Of course not. At dinnertime, 5 to 9. 5 to 9? I thought you said 9 to 8. No, but that's when there's only 4% of shoppers. I wonder when statistically. There are the most shoppers in the grocery store. If I had to take a guess, I would say 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon. Sunday afternoon. Sunday too. Sunday? Everyone's like, it's a big week. Got to stock up. No. I would go closer to morning because people want to get that done and go on with their day. Think about it though. I've been there in the morning. It seems like in the afternoon on a weekend is when they have to open up more. 10 a.m. Go to Trader Joe's any... Anytime, any day of the week. Nobody there. No. It's crazy. One of the least amount of dunces at the grocery store is what I want to know. I know. Because every time I go, I'm surrounded in idiotville. Yep. Idiotville. Me too. What do you mean? Just morons everywhere. What are they doing? I was there. Okay. You know, Mike. Perfect example. I'm there yesterday. I'm there yesterday. I'm buying an Easter card for my wife. I'm in line. 15 people in the express line. Some dude and his buddy are standing up there. They're like.
They're not getting checked out. I see one looking over his shoulder looking for his buddy who was over at the rotisserie chicken getting more chicken. Don't check out until you have all your stuff ready, pal. But did it hold up the line? Yeah, dude. I dropped the card and left. And Jamie didn't get a card. She got a CD mailed to her with no card because I was that mad. That's my wife's bit. Yeah, me too. It's terrible. Gosh, I hate it. She puts me in line, though, and says, hold on, I'm going to give you one more thing. I just check out. So the guy was like, sorry about that. Hang on a second. I'm going to go get some more chicken. And he's standing at the line while they're making rotisserie chicken, and the whole line is standing there. And the cashier's looking over, and I'm looking, and I'm giving the, really? It's under my breath. And finally, I just fling the card and walk. You hear like that. Yeah, I just fling. Yeah, I fling the card and walk. What about the people that like straddle? It'll be like a couple or just a pair of people and they'll straddle both lines. They'll do the ambiguous. You don't know which line I'm in. Yeah. I do that.
What's wrong with that? Whatever. The line is behind me. Get behind me and I'm going to choose. But I can't decide which one to go in. It's a problem. Just get behind me. Because I'm trying to figure out mathematically who has the most stuff, who looks like they're going to write a check, who looks like they're going to be on the ball. You know what I mean? You never know. Sometimes you get three people through faster than you get one. But I do an assessment. I do an assessment. So I'm like, are you in line? They're like, yeah. Line starts right behind me, my dear. Can you just tell me? If I don't know which line they're in, I just pretend that they're in this line and get behind this line. Okay. But then once you start to, you think that they're on the, they're going in the line on the left-hand side. So you're like, okay, well then I'm clearly going to get behind the person that's not them on the right-hand side. Well, then that person inches over to the right. No, no, no, no, no. I'm in the right. Okay. They won't do that. No, no, no. You play the oblivious card. It works every time. Not with me. Yeah, I just get in between them and they're lying. I'm like, you can't get in there. Now I just go to the grocery store with Jenna, my stepdaughter, and I'm like, you get there, I'll get there. That's Kevin. It's a weak bit. What else? Also, things that your grocer will not tell you, go ahead and reach way back for the fresh milk. Oh, yeah. Don't feel embarrassed. The fresher is in the back. Yeah. Really? Yeah. Fresher, everything is in the back, dude. The stuff that's going to expire first, they make sure to put it out in the front. So if you want the stuff that'll last longer, reach way back there.
My Copenhagen is, they have a date on it. And every time I go in, see that? What's that say? Made March 22nd, 2010. Right? I went in yesterday. I got one that said March 8th. And I go, hey, dude, can I get some fresher stuff? He looked at me like I just asked to have his sister's hand in marriage or something. Or like, give me a million dollars. Like I had a gun to his hand. He's like... And I'm like, really, dude? He's like $9 a can. Give me some fresh stuff. Really? Yeah. It's like six bucks expensive. How long does it take you to go through a can? Do a can of the egg. Oh, my goodness. Really? Yeah. This is an expensive habit. I had no idea. You could have just said a week and I'd have been like, oh, I didn't know you'd go through a can of that. Look, he always has it in his mouth. Yeah, I just didn't think about it. Steven would. He loves it. And, of course, he's the guy that I would never. Hey, man, can I get... Make it fresh, dude. If I'm going to pay for it, make it fresh. Make it real fresh. Make it real fresh. I picture you... I picture you throwing the can back down on the counter. Make it fresh, bro. Come on. Come on. If the kid wants, make it right. Easy. It'll spill. Make that right, pal. Seriously.
I don't want your old dry snuff. Make it right. It's not his. You know, he just works there. That's the thing. You know what I mean? Sir, I didn't mill this much, sir. Wow. I'm just trying to get by, sir. I'm working at 7-Eleven. Cut me a break, dude. Just trying to make rent, bro. I didn't mill it. I didn't mill that. I didn't mill it. The star fruit has been there a lot longer than the broccoli, apparently familiar produce. The what? The fruit. Mm-hmm. It said star fruit. Plantains and stuff that nobody eats. No, I think it's a brand, star. No, star fruit's a fruit. It's kind of like a kiwi. Oh, never had any idea. It's a real fruit. It's obscure. See, I'd have to eat fruits in order to know that. But, like, I don't even eat kiwi. It's like a banana tree. Who eats kiwi? I love kiwi. Would you, like, buy it at the grocery store? No, but if somebody bought it, I'd eat it. Dude, I'll buy you some kiwi. It's all right. I'm kidding. So what they're saying is the familiar produce turns over more quickly than the exotic things. The more products you see, the more likely you are to buy. That's why the aisles are so long in the milk aisle and milk is usually in the far corner. Not sure what that means. I don't either. Yeah, but that's what they said. Shop at chains that are employee owned. When employees have a stake, you know, their attitudes will be a lot better. If you go to other places. Can you give me an example? Do we know any around here? It's like the smaller grocery stores, like a market, you know. There's nothing in it.
Now, this is something crazy, and I've heard of people doing this. They're called, quote-unquote, grazers that order food at the deli. Pleadians, grazers. It means, like, eating the sample food? No. Not the sample food. The barrel food? the deli, they'll order a sandwich, and then they'll say, I'm going to do my grocery shopping. So then they eat their sandwich as they're walking around the grocery store, and then they put the wrappers in the garbage or somewhere, or in the aisle somewhere, hide it. Creeper. And then they don't pay for it. Creeper. You're a thief. You're a creepy thief. See, I'll eat and drink stuff around the grocery store. But I'll pay for it. Absolutely. I keep the wrapper and pay for it. No, I'll drink a Coke while I'm pushing my cart out. How many more? Because we can come back to it. How many more? There's about... Okay, I want to hear them. Don't go away. We'll come back. We'll finish it. I want to know other stuff that's secret like that. Best things in life. Listening to The Mikey Show on FM 94.9. Okay, Sienna's got about six more things that your grocer ain't going to tell you. Is that the deal? Yeah. They won't tell you. What do you got?
Don't forget that they're marketing for your kids, too. That's why they put the rainbow-colored cereals and all the little treats down low. Really? Yeah. I didn't ever notice that. Yeah. Like, you want the fruit snacks? They're down low. You have to reach down. If you want the frosted flakes, they're down low. That's smart. Because the kids are walking around, and they're like, Mom, I want this. And they can just grab it. And how much harder is it to, you know, you have to go get it. But if the kids already have it in their hands, they're like, please. They're marketing to Mikey and kids. Yeah. Exactly. That's right. And tattoo. And tattoo. Yeah. Yeah, they are. Sometimes they do that because there are some people that are a little lower than other people. So you eat a lot of junk food then, pal. That's why my whole life, I love Freddie Pebbles. You love Freddie Prince? What did you say? Freddie Pebbles. No, Lauren. I said I love Freddie Pebbles. Oh, Freddie Prince Jr. No. I said I love Fruity Pebble. Oh, Fruity Pebble. No, it's Fruity Pebble. Oh, okay. That's not. Just one. Yeah, I love to eat it because it tastes so good in my little mouth. Little mouth. That's. Tattoo, that's. Okay. That's what? That's. The plan! The plan! The plan! 18 takes on that one. 18? Yeah, that's the other problem. Wow.
18 takes. You know that. They call you 18 take Jake. That's right. Things that your grocer won't tell you. Look high and low for the good values on any types of food because, and I didn't know this, apparently the smaller manufacturers who can't afford the middle spot. I guess people pay more to be placed at eye level. It's like advertising. Yeah. Really? Yeah, so make sure you look up and down because there's, you know, better deals in smaller manufacturers that will be cheaper. I had no idea. I know. Things like that. Like, how are you supposed to know? They're paying for the prime spot. I don't want you to know. I know. That's what you have me, people. That's right. Be wary of specials. It says when people see signs with numbers eight for $10, limit five per customer, then they buy. You know, like 30 to 100% more than they otherwise would have. Yeah, your dad, right? So it's like, yeah, you're getting a deal, but like you never would have eaten all that anyway. You really didn't have that much yogurt, bro? Yeah. We have 9,000 boxes of shredded wheat and pop carts in our house. Well, those don't go bad, though. I know, but still. They don't? How about a little variety? Yeah, get the non-perishable stuff. You can stack up on that. Yeah. Well, like.
Yeah, I mean, that stuff, I guess, eventually goes bad. But if it's yogurt, it will be bad, like, the next week. You can't get 400 cases of yogurt. My dad would eat it anyway. We opened our fridge the other day. Yogurt for dinner! And a lot of people could relate to this. I opened our fridge the other day, looked at the door, and I go, how many open bottles of Newman's balsamic vinaigrette dressing do we have? Like, we've got four bottles of Newman's own. Balsamic vinaigrette. And they're all open in various stages of emptiness. Does it slay you? Tell me. You got to marry them. No, because... Marry them? Well, when you're making something, you're like, I want the freshest one, though. But then you can't bring yourself to throw away. You know what it is? I'll tell you why it's that way for me. Why? It's because I go to the grocery store. We're going to have salad. And I go, do we have dressing? Do we have dressing? No, we don't. So I bite. I'm going to get some. So I buy the Newman's Own balsamic vinaigrette, and I get home. We got eight bottles in the refrigerator, half full. Well, that's when you keep it in the pantry. And you go ahead and open it. Yeah. I open it anyway. It's fresh. I'm like, it's fresh. I might as well open it. I want the good stuff. I want the good stuff. Or I have 18 bottles of Tabasco. Weird. Did you ever wonder why baby formula is locked up? No. I didn't realize that it was. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, I do. I do.
And I guess it's the same for cold and cough medications and the smoking stuff, razor blades, batteries. It's because thieves go in and they sell it on the black markets. Yeah, well, some of that baby formula is really expensive. Like, we had to have one of our baby formulas covered under insurance. $150 a can. What? Yeah. Why? Because it's called... Called cocaine? No, it's called cocaine. You may have heard of it. Cocaine for babies. No, it's this special formula. Didn't say so. For sensitive stomachs. It's made out of leprechaun fingernails and rainbows. Ground up rainbows and leprechaun fingernails. It's really rare. No, but it's because Lukey had bad stomach problems. So we had to get it. Just two more little tips that your grocer won't tell you. If you're driving a really nice car and you're worried about getting a dent or someone messing with your car. Park far away because people are going to mess with it. They don't care. They're going to throw the cart wherever there's an empty spot. Santa's like, send your butler to go get your groceries. Why even do the shopping yourself? Send your butler. That's what you have needs for. Go to the Vons in La Jolla. They park your car anyway. You go to the one with valet. Love it. And the last tip is that you're going to end up tossing 12% of everything you buy anyway. 12% of the food you get, garbage. Easily.
How many fruits? I throw so much away. I always buy those big things of the cutie oranges. I never get through it, but I continue to keep buying them. You know why? It's because people buy cutie oranges, 900 of them at a time. You can only get them that way. I love Costco. I mean, I love Costco, but dude, I'm like, this is bad. I end up throwing so much away. We buy five pounds of potatoes. We need three. We need three for what we're making for dinner. So you're either going to waste it or you're going to overeat. Yep. That's the deal. Little angels walked in. That's right. Hillary. Hi, Hillary. Hello, Hill. How are you? Hi. What are you up to? Someone stapled my log. I'm a little annoyed. Really? Like Mikey. That would have made me crazy. What am I going to do? That would make me crazy. No, I'm doing well. How are you guys? We're good. You're sounding better every day. Thank you. Yeah, your voice is coming back. Slowly but surely. From the girls' weekend. Yeah. From girls' weekend out. It was a wild time. It was a little wild. What do you got coming up today? What do I have? Well, I grabbed a...
I actually grabbed an older Gorillaz record. We'll play that. Some Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, Clash. I always seem to work some Clash in early on. But, yeah, it's going to be good music today. Very cool. Can I just real quick remind the ladies listening right now in case you forgot? They're auctioning off firemen tonight at Rock Bottom in La Jolla. I can't wait. This is like La Jolla Village Drive right off the 5. Dude, maybe my neighbors won't be basing tonight. 6 p.m. See, Hillary's in on them, too. I'm in. Hey, Sienna, you're going to put, like, directions on your blog? Go to my blog. Go to my blog. Everything's up there. The directions are there. 6 p.m. Get yourself a firefighter. Say it. Firefighter tonight, ladies. You know, for girls I know who don't want to go down there, how much cash should they take just to... Just for your girls that you know. Yeah, for girls that I know who don't want to go down there. Bring as much as you can, Frankie. Bring as much as you can. No, I'm not saying for me, obviously. I know, I know. I'm just answering your question. Bring your checkbook. Yeah, obviously. Yeah, do they accept checks? They might. For friends. Money, all the proceeds go to the UCSD Burns Center. Great cause. Yeah, great cause. I might even do it just for the cause, man. Maybe they'll auction you off.
I ain't a fireman. I look like one, but I'm not. Maybe back in Brooklyn. Girls could bid on you, Frankie. It's a Brooklyn thing. Oh, I'll go bid on you, Frankie boy. Don't touch me. I'll bid on that. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Oh, wow. Hillary is up next. We'll see you tomorrow morning at 6. Mikey shows out. EZT San Diego. A Lincoln financial media station. Mikey in the morning. About the music all day and night. M. 94.9. It's about the music.
