KBCT San Diego, the Lincoln Financial Media Station. The new home of The Mikey Show. This is FM 94.9. Cooking with gas. It's The Mikey Show. Would you like to give us a call? We'd love to hear from you. Phone number here is 570-1949. And if you'd like to get a hold of us by text, you can do that as well. Text is 949Mikey at gmail.com. And we got a lot going on. I got... I got my back cracked yesterday by the chiropractor. How was it? It was actually pretty good. It felt really good when I left. And he eliminated the tingling in my fingers. Really? Tingling at this very moment is back. It comes and goes. And so he's going to give me another adjustment tomorrow. He says, we're going to get this thing straightened out. Never been to one of those, ever. It's dude.
When they do the actual crack and you hear the... Yeah. You hear it and you feel it. And then he does the bit with the neck, you know? Oh, dude. I don't think I can handle it. You're laying on your back and he grabs the back of your head and he does the... He goes, breathe in. Big breath in. Breathe all the way out. Oh, scare me. Dude. Yeah. No thanks. He's cool. He gives you the tab. He goes, what's that? And it's good. It's good. Let's do one more. You up for one more? Yeah, let's do it. Comes around. Big breath in. All the way out. Oh, I don't like that. And then he gives me the... How was that one? Does it hurt? No. Doesn't hurt at all. It's creepy. Doesn't hurt at all. It just creeps you out because you hear the... So do you feel like you're more aligned now? Yeah. Strangely. Isn't that what they're supposed to do? Like put you back in order? Oddly, I do. I do feel. Good. He showed me an excrement. I lean to the left. Don't we all? It's a gangster lean, dude. It's a little Pisa lean, I think. Here, I thought you were a Republican. Yeah, I know. I know. Hey, Pepper, you ever been to Italy? No. You'd want to, right? Oh, yeah. I don't. You know me. I don't want anything to do with it. Why? Money's all red. What? Money's red.
Who doesn't want to go there? Don't they use euros? I don't know. They do. All I know is I don't like places that are real different because I can't function normally. They have really good food there. Really? They have 7-Eleven? Yeah, I'm sure they do. Yeah? Yeah. Do they have Marie Calendars? I don't know if they have Marie Calendars. I don't think they do. I don't think they do. I don't think they do have Marie Calendars. That would make me uncomfortable. What about Chevron? Do they have that? Probably not Chevron. Probably like Chevron. What about Wrigley Field? No Wrigley Field. Wrigley Field? See, if they don't have things that make me feel really, really comfortable, I get freaked out. Like if I can't order eggs, if I order something and they go, they look at me like I'm a creep. Don't go there then because everything is really inconvenient. Because like we have things like Costco and Target where you can get everything in one place. It doesn't exist there. You have to go to multiple different places. Little markets. My wife goes, well, then why don't we just, you know, stay in San Diego? I'm like, oh. Sounds good. That's a good idea. What do you think of that? It would slay you over in Europe, too. And this is what I hear. I've been to London, but I've never been to a European vacation. Apparently, meals take about three to four hours. That's what she said. It would kill me. I would be like... You'd chew your hand off. I would. Oh, I'd be loving it. My wife said in France, that's what it is, three hours. No way. Three hours. It's a lot of walking around, too. Everyone walks. Kid, I'm out. Give me a Segway and a McDonald's.
Zombie good to go. That's why you don't see a lot of obesity over there. That's true. A lot of walkers. They walk. They don't eat like we do. No. We like to slay some hungry men. They're not disgusting like we are. You know what there is, though, that drives me nuts? Is the dog droppings on the sidewalk everywhere. Because here, it's illegal. You have to pick up after your dog, you know? Yeah. And there, no. Never done it. You have to watch your step. You have to stare at the sidewalk. Never done it. 570-1949 is our number. 949mikey at gmail.com. If you want to text us, my name is Mikey. I'm the host of the show. And I don't like rain. I like sunshine. There ain't no sunshine when she's gone. So just need to get that out there. That's right. Let's see. Across from me is my boy Woodsy. He's got on his Yankees cap. I was going to play a funny thing that Jimmy Fallon said. It was a joke about the Yankees. And I was like, probably not. Probably not. Absolutely. Jimmy Fallon's a Red Sox fan, right? Big Red Sox fan. Yeah. So probably not with that one. With Woodsy. Wouldn't appreciate it. Probably right. So I decided to not play it, but discuss it openly on the air, which wasn't any better. Why did he do that? No, not at all. You know what I mean? It's almost the same exact thing. Might as well play the joke now. Might as well play it. Let's hear it. What does Funny Guy have to say? You love Jimmy Fallon. Actually, I do like Jimmy Fallon. Let's see what he has to say after one game. Yeah, that's it.
And 27 rings. What does he have to say about that? You know that. You know that. Here's what he had to say. You guys been enjoying the nice weather? It's been beautiful outside. Oh, my God. It's been great. But they're saying that people are really having a tough time with allergies. Last night, I saw a group of guys irritated, coughing, and choking. False alarm, though. It was just the Yankees' bullpen. That's good. That's kind of a good one. I thought that's kind of a good one. Oh, no. Oh, boy. Can't see too well. Is that Richard Pryor over there? Oh, wow. Boy. Strong. Strong joke, Jim. You're not a fan of Yankee jokes. No. We also have Pepper O'Brien with us. She is the blonde-haired girl to my right. Her name is actually Lauren O'Brien. But we go with Pepper. Do we? Pepper's delicious. Yeah, we do. Do we? Pepper makes everything better. That's right. Pepper was in my teeth again yesterday. Thanks a lot, guys. It's our fault. Yep.
Right in between the two chompers here. It likes to hide out in there. It's a little home. It's a little sleeping bag. Listeners of the meet and greet are going to specifically be looking for stuff. Of course they are. She's going to have a compact and a toothpick. At all times. People are going to bring you pepper as a gift. Maybe I'll do the preemptive strike. Just bathe yourself in pepper. Put it all in there. You should. Nobody bring a shirt for her that says pepper. No, don't do that. Don't do that. That would be ridiculous. Santa's our news girl, and she is married and with child. With child? That's right. She's got a little girl brewing in the oven. I know. No name yet. Still trying to decide. Don't know how you make that decision. It's hard. Do you wait until after, or do you pretty much know? I think it depends for everyone, right? Does it? Yeah, I think we're going to try to get it solid and picked before. Yeah. It's probably a good move. Let's see. Jay is our producer. He is 46 years old. Did your parents ever tell you what your name would have been if you were the opposite sex? No. No, but they really thought I was going to be a girl. They have a name? My mom did. Stephanie. No. I was Kimberly. Really? Yeah, it would have been. That makes sense. Kimberly.
Can you imagine you would have known me as a Mexican girl named Kimberly? The Kimberly Show. Yeah, the Kimberly Show. Hi, everyone. Just say Kimberly. Yeah, it's the Kimberly Show. The Kimberly Show's out late. I think mine was going to be Hunter. Really? Oh, I like that. I like it, too. That's awesome. It's a great Dallas name. A lot of dudes in Dallas named Hunter. Yes. Let's see. So much to... Oh, first of all, I want to tell you, Friday, we're going to meet you. Speaking of meeting you, we're going to meet you on Friday, 5 to 7. in the garden area at the Bistro of Stone Brew. Come on out. Meet us. It's going to be awesome. And we got the new sticker, the Mikey Show M1 Nation sticker. So come out and check it out. So this is kind of a fun story that everybody's talking about, about the teenager that smashed the new iPad, smashed it all up. Yeah, three of them. Who is this person? No, it was a group of teenagers in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Yeah. And this has blown up to be a huge viral YouTube video ever since they did this over the weekend. They went into a Best Buy store, bought the brand new iPad, walked outside with a baseball bat, and they began smashing it and videotaping it. Really? Uh-huh. And the LA Times asked one of the kids, why exactly did you do this? Yeah. Would you like to know his answer? What? I wanted to be the first one to do it before other people did it. It was just something to do.
You know, he's not the first because I saw some guy testing it out and they wanted to see how resilient it was. Now, theirs wasn't a joke. They did it to be very serious. They were one of these, you know, consumer reports thing. And so they were doing it to be serious. But these jokers just wasted $500. Who wants to waste $500? I know, and they're teenagers. It's not like they have a bunch of money just lying around. They saved $500 up. To do that. Destroy it. Maybe they thought they'd become a new YouTube sensation. It's exactly what they were trying to do, which is, you know, they did it. We're talking about it. Yeah. And people like watching it, right? You posted it. Yeah, it's on my blog if you want to see it. Yeah. Sienna posted it on her blog, so if you want to see it, go to MikeyShow.com. M-I-K-E-Y-S-H-O-W dot com. Jay still thinks my eyes look fishy. Look better. Fishy. Yeah. Looks like I'm a fresh trout. Something suspicious. What were you doing in the car, Mikey? Driving. Keeping my eyes on the road, pal. Do they still look a little googly? A little puffy. A little cucumber. A little like little boots. You know that. A little cucumber. You've done it. I've done it. Of course I have.
I had an allergy attack that made my eyes swell up. I thought it was all done, but I still have a little residual. Everything's little. Yeah, very tiny allergies. I have really small, little baby, tiny allergies. All right. Please. Rascal. That's good. The kid is a rascal. All right already. I get it. Old devil. I have eyes that are puffy or whatever. I love that. So, oh, the other big thing is this mine explosion in West Virginia. Crazy. 25 people were killed yesterday at this coal mine that exploded. Now, there's more people that are missing. Four people are still missing. And this is the worst mine disaster since 1984. Now, no one exactly knows the cause of explosion yet. In Charleston, 30 miles north of where this happened, they have a coal mine there and it has a history of violations for not properly ventilating highly combustible methane gas. So they think, well, maybe it was some sort of related thing because the plant in Charleston does something similar. So no one really knows. But yeah, 25 people died. It happened around 340, I believe, yesterday afternoon.
You know that that gas is kind of there, though, don't you? All the time. You do, but you know what surprises me is there's still actual coal miners. Yeah, I know. This is 1912. What do we use coal for? Well, that's beside the point. Isn't there something we can send down there to get the coal out? Yeah. Instead of sending dudes down there to get it? You would think. Yeah, you'd think there'd be a robot. Something. That's weird. Probably not as cost efficient as paying people. Probably true. What do we use coal for? Maybe like charcoal barbecue. I think it's an energy source. It's an energy source. Jay, I'm sure you use coal. Absolutely, I don't use coal, but they use it for an energy source. You warm the house with it. I make it into diamonds. I squeeze it really hard. What do they do with it, Jay? They use it to, it's a power source for, you know, turning turbines. Oh, my gosh. I thought everything was wireless. Wireless. What? Nothing. Not everything's wireless. Yeah. What? And those cities are built around those coal mines. Those guys have worked in there for generations. For generations. Yeah. West Virginia. Never been to that part of the country. Those guys have got to be tough. Yeah, they are. Drove through West Virginia once. No thanks. I went to school outside of West Virginia. That's right. Yeah, Mountain Mama. How about that? Fair enough. I met another girl yesterday. When I went to the chiropractor yesterday, there was a girl in there.
Her name is Lauren, and she's from New Jersey. Whoa. I know. And I go, I know a Lauren from New Jersey. And she said, come here, you. Come here. Same as Lauren. She was from South Jersey. Oh. No accent. Where are you from? South Jersey. Yeah, but what was the town area? Cherry Hill. She said. Medford? No, but whenever she said it, you've said it before. Because I instantly recognize. Cherry Hill area? Cherry Hill. Cherry Hill. You're from Trenton? And I go, wow. I go, there's no accent on you either. My friend Lauren doesn't have any accent. I said, but she could turn it on. And she goes, oh, I can too. Come here, you. Yeah. Come here, you. She could do that. Horrible. Horrible. Sorry words. Toyota is now back in the news. Oh, man. Big time. Weird. They are facing a maximum penalty. of more than $16 million. Oh, wow. Yeah, which is a record civil penalty against any automaker for failing to promptly notify the U.S. government about their defective gas pedal. That's crazy! I guess, yeah. I guess they knew about it in September and they didn't tell anyone or recall any vehicles until January. Really? And they have documents that prove that. And in case you don't know, more than 6 million vehicles have been recalled in the U.S. and 8 million worldwide. So it's not just some small little recall. It's a big deal.
I feel bad for that brand. Toyota? For the brand. You know, I know a lot of people go, oh, really? You're crying over a big corporation? It's not that. What I'm bummed about is the brand. The brand that in my lifetime has always stood for reliability and a good automobile. Yeah. Give it a year or two and a good PR rep. Turn it around. They're trying now even. I think that the way that they're advertising right now is pretty smart. I saw that thing the other day. What is it? It's something very, very, hey, we're sorry. I heard the radio spot. I saw the TV spot. It was pretty good. It made me watch a car commercial. I thought it was awkward. You did? Yeah. Made you uncomfortable? Yeah. The radio or the TV? The radio one. I like the radio one. The radio one is a testimonial of people going, you know what? I bought a Toyota and I love it. I think that you have to go with the real deal. You've got to go with what people are really saying. Yeah, they're just not all the way in the clear yet. So I thought it was like, well, let's just wait this one out before we all start celebrating. Yeah, well, I root for them. My family's always driven Toyotas. My dad told me, you buy a good, reliable Japanese car and put oil in it every 3,000 miles, and you'll drive it into the ground. And he's right. Those things, they've got a million miles on them.
Jay's got one. Oh, I love mine. Loves it. Love my Nissan as well. Really? I've only bought Ford my whole life. Really? My grandfather worked for Ford for 40 years. Yeah. So I didn't have a choice. What's your experience with it? Fine. Does it break? They all do. No, they don't. All cars suck. That's a thing. They all do. The way I drive, all of them. You're cuckoo. All of them. That may be true. Doesn't matter. I'm telling you, man, I don't think that they all do. I think you might be cuckoo. Fords, when I've driven Fords, when I've driven American, Sorry. I don't mean to offend anybody. My kid lives in this country, pal. I'm American. Made in the USA. Really? Yeah, that should be their slogan. Ford. Well, I've just had issues. I've had issues. All right. Really? Toyota, dude. I'm telling you. He was right. We wouldn't talk about this right now? I'm telling you, dude. That's not a Japanese. German. Fair enough. German. American now. Big problems. Yeah. When was the last time you drove your car? Estimated date. Three months ago. Okay.
Three months ago. That's German. Kid's got a Chevy right now. Not really reliable, but it gets me here. This was a hand-me-down from the wife. You know that. I had three transmissions in my Chevy Suburban. Oh, my gosh. Really? Yeah. I also put 160,000 miles on it, but still, it was in the first 80 that I replaced the transmission twice. Wow. Sorry, I don't like my Chevy. 570-1949. Sienna's husband does something that's brilliant. I just found out about it this morning. Firelessly? Firelessly. Guys are so strange. I was reading a recap email. Her husband Todd has good t-shirts and comfy t-shirts. Good t-shirts are hung in the closet. Those are the t-shirts that he wears on public. Then he has a comfy t-shirt drawer. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Where he keeps t-shirts that he wears around the house. I have that. That's not weird. Brilliant. No, it's not weird. It's brilliant. I just didn't think of it. All my T-shirts are hung. All of them? They're all hung. Oh. I'm going to take down the comfy ones and put those in a drawer.
Give you a lot more space. Just so you know. I mean, he knows when he gets home from work, he takes off his work clothes and he immediately goes to the comfy drawer for the shirt. And then the drawer underneath are his comfy sweats or shorts. The problem is, is that I can't keep any clothes in my drawers because that's where I put all the stuff that needs to be put away that Rebecca puts like that I've just scattered around. She'll pick up all my stuff and put it in one place. Odds and end books, plates. Stuff like that. And I open the drawers up and I just put it in there. I'm like, oh, that's where I'll put it. No way. And I close the drawer and I'm like, oh, it's all clean now. Everything's clean. You put plates in your drawer? I'll put everything in there. Just clean. Wow. Clean out the area. I can't do that. No? My closet's like the Dewey Decimal System. It is. It's like everything. It's color-coded. It's like a serial killer lives there. Yeah, exactly. Mine is all over the place. Is it? Mine's crazy. See, Todd's favorite shirt, like his favorite shirt. We got it when we first started dating. Yeah. He had to retire it to the comfy drawer yesterday. It was a really, really big deal. He was like, this is never going to see the light of day again. I do have one thing that I do that's a little weird. All of my t-shirts and shirts need to be hung with the hanger to the left. Sometimes my wife will point the clothes to the right. Flips you out, doesn't it?
So you need the tag facing the left wall. Tag facing the left. Well, yeah, because that's correct. So when you scroll. That's the correct way. Yeah, when you scroll down, you get the front of the shirt. Yes. Yes, and she'll sometimes put it the opposite way. Crazy. But does your wife have all day? I know I'm crazy. I'm crazy. I am too then. I'm crazy. I know that though. Me too. Just like my wife is a toilet paper roll from the bottom. That's not correct. Top. Bottom. It's got to pull down. Bottom. Really? So that your arm can wrench and torque? I have to go up like this. Hold on. Let me get some toilet paper. Can you tell me why you prefer it that way? Because I don't. Yeah. She says that too. I do it both ways. Yeah. That's what I've discovered. Both ways. You do? Yeah. Look how handy I am. To me, that's like a talent. You're like an ambidextrous New York Yankees pitcher. You know what else I'll do that drives Jamie crazy? I won't put it on the thing. I just put it on the floor or the back of the toilet. Why would you do that? She does, too. Rebecca does this, too. If the toilet paper ends, right, she will have a brown toilet paper cardboard roll with a little piece of toilet paper still stuck to it. On the thing. On there. And then sitting on top of that will be a roll of toilet paper. I do that all the time.
She doesn't want to waste. No, no, but when it's out, she just sticks it on top. She just sits it on top of empty cardboard. When there's like five little squares left, I put the reserve ready to go. Just in case. Well, she also takes the brown cardboard thing and sautés it for dinner. No, no, no. I actually... It makes a wonderful casserole. I make dresses out of it. Dresses? Yeah. She makes, like, toilet paper cardboard dresses. I'm looking at her going, is she serious? No. She might be. But he picked the purses made out of it. Seriously. White Stripes, Blue Orchid. The reason is our boy Jay is picking the music today. Good choices. Just impressive, dude. I was doing his, looking at his list, and I was... So impressed. So here's what we got coming up. Obviously, the tournament. It's all over, and we'll tell you who won. Was it Duke or was it Butler? We'll tell you the answer. You probably already know. What did Obama do that got everybody all stirred up at a baseball game? He threw the first pitch out. He did something that was, like, controversial. So we'll talk about that. Also, Tiger Woods did his press conference. That's big. That's huge. We got to talk about that. Tiger Woods gave a press conference yesterday. Oh, and we have...
For Woods on Sports, we have a little boy coming in here named Noah. And Noah, this kid's going to be on ESPN one of these days. For sure. There is no doubt about it. This kid is destined for ESPN. He looks like a little Woods. I know, he does. Yeah, he does. He looks just like a little Woods. How crazy is that? We've got to get a picture. He has little glasses on, too. We've got to get a picture. He does. He's a handsome little kid. Except he's wearing the right shirt, which is a Padres shirt. I was rooting for the Pods yesterday. I'll tell you all about it. Noah, how old are you? 12 years old. This kid, he knows some baseball. He's going to blow your mind. I'm telling you right now. He's going to blow your mind. We're going to talk to him next. I love it. You're listening to The Mikey Show. The Mikey Show on FM 94.9. This is an important announcement to the American public who owe more than $10,000 or more in credit card debt. Okay, so what did Obama do that caused so much controversy? He threw out a pitch, Woodsy. Is that it? He did, man. It was opening day yesterday around baseball. And in your nation's capital, your president threw out the first pitch. But the cool thing, I really like this about Obama. He goes to the mound. Yeah. And he's got his Washington Nationals jacket on. Right. And he grabs the ball and he pulls out of his pocket his Chicago White Sox hat and he puts it on. The guy's got to represent his Southside boys. Was he wearing jeans? I don't know. I didn't see the lower half. I saw the picture. I had to check to see if he was wearing the mom jeans. No, he had slacks on. Oh, he had slacks on? Good move. But I thought it was pretty cool. You know, the guy stands by his team. He did take a little grief from the play-by-play guys. Cut one. Page three, pal. Sorry. Sorry about that. Wait a minute. I got to test this out, by the way. See, I was just asking you that, but we should do this officially. Oh, yeah, we should. Let's do this officially. We going to rewind? Let's get in the DeLorean. Let's get in the DeLorean, get it up to 88. It's the best song on the radio. Nice. Yeah. Perfect. Now, you said it's cut one as Obama? Yeah, cut one as Obama. We do have to call you out on something, though. What's that?
We said earlier you can take the president out of Chicago, but you can't take Chicago out of the president. You had to pull the Sox cap out, didn't you? Listen, I want the Nats to do well. I love them. It's great for the city, but I'm a Southside kid, and I've got to make sure that Jerry Reinsdorf doesn't get too angry with him. That's the owner of the White Sox. That's pretty solid. The guy's got to represent his bunch. Yeah, he does. Also, last night was the final game of the college basketball season. And if you guys didn't see this game, you missed out. Really? I know very well that you did not see it. Did Todd watch it? What? The game? Yeah, he was watching something. Matt? Yeah, Matt watched it. I didn't watch it. My heart was racing, and I could care less about Duke or Butler or anything. Oh, the last second. The last second. I even did see that. Mike, Butler was obviously a five seed, and Duke was the big dog, and they were heavily favored. They were actually a six-and-a-half point favorite last night. Yeah. Well, it came down to Butler having a chance to win. Play cut two. It's done with a three. It's long, and it's Duke's turn to the ten, to the five.
They inbounded the ball, and right as he got over half-court, the Butler player threw it up, and it hit off the backboard and off the front of the rim would have won the game with a half-court shot. So close. It was unbelievable. It would have won the game. It would have won the game. For Butler. For Butler. From the half-court. From half-court. I even said, you need to watch this. I was like, here's me. Here's me in my room. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Like, it was in. Woodsy, you know what would have been great is if that had happened, that would have been as historic as do you believe in miracles, right? Absolutely, dude. It would have been that moment. Well, no. Dude, in the final. It would have been second. Which one is the best? Jimmy V. Always. Jimmy V. The don't give up thing? They were so heavily. Houston was so heavily favored against NC State. Yeah. So heavily favored. So that was the bigger one. Malman made a good point last night when I talked to him. I mean, Malman made a good point when I talked to him last night. He goes, everybody forgets Butler was a preseason top 10. But because they're a fifth seed in a tournament, you don't expect them to be there, which is true. No. So, you know, that was, it was an awesome ending to a great, a great tournament. And I think we have declared a winner in the Mikey Show pool. Have we not? Yeah, we have. Who won? Our boy, Jason. Whoa. Jason.
Unbelievable. Took a little grief there in the beginning, didn't it? I'm embarrassed right now. He had UC Santa Barbara in the final game versus Duke. Yeah. UC Santa Barbara didn't make it past first round. Does it drive anybody crazy when she says versus Duke? The verse thing, she kills you. Versus? Versus. What do I say? Butler versus Duke. The Chargers versus the Raiders. She says verse. I think I would say verse. Maybe it's girls. It's probably not right. Verse is like in a song, huh? She's the first person I've ever met in my life that says verse. Chargers versus Raiders. You know who else is a winner? Who? M1 Steve, who had my back in the very beginning. We hooked that boy up with something good. We all had somebody pick us as a horse. Unbelievable. Nice. Unbelievable. I know. Guy had. He had a lot of upsets. He had a lot of upsets, and he picked the winner. That's the way I roll. Unbelievable. And meanwhile, the Padres may have their hands full this year. They came out of the gates yesterday. I watched most of the game. They ran into a buzzsaw, though. Dan Heron for the Diamondbacks is filthy. Really? Absolutely filthy. They made two big errors. It really cost them. John Garland pitched okay.
Needed to make some pitches and didn't make them. But they didn't really have his back in the field either. So a couple bright spots yesterday. Adrian Gonzalez hit a homer in the ninth, as did Kyle Blanks. But it was a little too late. Pods lost 6-3 on their opening day. And we got to talk about this guy sitting here to my right. Noah is in the studio. How are you, Noah? Great. Thanks. Nice to have you here. Noah's an M1. And he's a Padres fan. And he's a Padres. A big one. Big Padres fan. It's M1 Noah Tall, right? Noah Lot. Noah Lot. Noah Lot. So you're 12 years old. You want to give a shout out to where you go to school or any of that stuff? Or that's up to you? I live in Hamul and I go to school at Oak Grove. That's cool. Oak Grove? Lots of family there. And you're 12 years old. How did we find out about you, Noah? Well, I was doing videos and my mom sent them into woods. Yeah. You got to make sure you talk right in that microphone, okay? Okay. So you were doing videos. Your mom sent them to Woods. And it's videos of you basically being like a sports reporter. Is that right? No way, really? Genius. I've not seen these. Noah, is that what you want to do? I'd rather be more of a GM or an agent or something. For real? Yeah. You would rather be a GM for a team than be, say, a sports broadcaster. Yeah. Okay. That's fantastic.
Do you know what the job of a GM requires? What would you do as a GM? Well, you'd make the trades, you'd make all the signings, and you'd basically make the team with the money the owner gives you. Okay. Okay. I like that. That's right. Well, I'm just going to ask you a couple of questions. I'm going to turn it over to Woods because I want you guys to talk some baseball. Okay? Okay. But here's what I want to ask you. As you look at what the Padres just did, With what they have. Did they make good moves or bad moves? In your opinion. Well, the offseason was... It was a really good offseason. Everett Cabrera made a few errors. Made an error. Really was not living up to his defensive height. Right. And cost John Garland four unearned runs. That's right. Okay. If he had made those plays... Uh-huh. John Garland would have gotten out of those innings, and we would have won. Now, does that tell you that those were good acquisitions or bad acquisitions? Well, they were good acquisitions, and Garland, who's an innings eater, Tori Alba, who's our backup catcher. Yeah. I'd have to say Jerry Harrison Jr. was a great, great pickup, could replace Eckstein at second, and the Kuzminov trade for Harrison was a big one. Yeah. And don't forget Aaron Cunningham. He was a big part of that deal.
12 years old. 12 years old, dude. How about some applause for this dude? That's fantastic. That's fantastic. I was just impressed that he said acquisitions. I'm like, wow. I'm sitting here right now, and I am in awe. Yeah. What's he doing? So this, I mean, this is me. This is me 22 years ago, basically. And I collected cards. My dad, I mean, I've always been a big baseball. I still play baseball. You know that. But so what we did, I thought this would be fun, is. I wanted to hear who his picks are. We're going to run through them really quick. So who do you have in the AL East, winning the East? Okay, it's basically a coin flip between Yankees and Red Sox. I got the Yanks. The loser gets the wild card. That's right. I got the Yanks. Who do you have in the Central? Twins. They're pitching solid. They're Joe Mowers, amazing. Okay. What about the West? I'd have to say the Mariners, the big acquisitions of Lee and Figgins. Fair enough. But who do you like in the East, in L East? I'd have to say the Phillies. But the Braves could sneak in there. Me too, with Hayward. Did you see Hayward yesterday? Yeah. Ridiculous. Too much hype. Too much. But a three-run bomb is first at bat. First swing in the majors, he had a three-run bomb. Well, why do you say too much hype, Noah? Well, I mean, people are saying he's the next Hank Aaron. Yep. And you're like, hey, I want to see it first. Yeah, show me, don't tell me, right?
Hey, if the Padres fall out of contention and trade Gonzalez, he's one of the guys they could get along with Gordon Beckham and Jacoby Ellsbury. Those are huge, huge names. Who do you have in the Central? The Central, I have to go with the Cardinals. Me too. Who do you have in the West? I have the Rockies and Jimenez and Tulowitzki. Okay. And you had the Wild Card? Now, this was a bold prediction here. Your NL wild card is the San Diego Padres. With 87 wins, they get into second place with Kyle Blanks and Adrian Gonzalez in the middle of that order. If they trade Gonzalez, they're out of the wild card. They're out of the wild card. Now, Noah, is that your choice? The fact that you love the Padres, is that... play a little bit into that choice there? Well, maybe it might because I know them a little better and I see their potential more rather than if I was a White Sox fan in Chicago, I probably wouldn't see the Padres' strengths. That makes sense. All right, last couple questions. AL MVP, who do you got? Joe Maurer. Repeating. Best catcher, period. Okay. He lives up to that.
To that contract this year? He does. Okay. NL MVP? Albert Pujols. Me too. AL Cy Young? It's a coin flip between Hernandez and Granke. Granke lost yesterday. He's got no bullpen. But I see John Lester or Jake Peavy could sneak up in there. Get with John Lester. Yes. John Lester. I got Sabathia taking it because he's got the offense. He can eat them up too. Give me the NL Cy Young. I have to say Adam Wainwright. No Halliday, huh? No Halliday. Dominating in the NL? Well, Holiday will have an area around two, but Wainwright will completely obliterate. This is fantastic. I love this kid. This is the greatest thing ever. He will destroy NL Batters. Oh, my gosh. The only thing I really understood was Padres and Phillies. All I know is that it looks like I'm looking across a table at an ESPN interview. Yeah. And it's like a real GM, only he's like... He's not a full-grown adult man. He's not a full-grown adult man, but he's a handsome young guy. And they're like, you know what? He's new in Major League Baseball. A lot of people are really giving him a lot of flack because he's 12. But the truth is that he's made some great acquisitions. He's really improved this team. And the Royals are lucky to have him. You know, that's what it looks like. I mean, it's incredible. I fully expect us to be getting calls.
10 years. Hey, I just got hired as an assistant GM here or somewhere else like that. This kid's got it. He's got it. It's great. I love it. We've got to have you call in every week. Would you be willing to call in and hang out? He's giving us the big thumbs up on that. He's like, Mom. this is really great because this will add to my resume. You know, this is good for the resume. He's like, Mom, by the way, did you get the monster thing going to monster.com? Are we working that? Are we working that angle? Good, good, got it. The way he's got an agent lined up. So one more question for you. He keeps checking his iPhone throughout the interview, you know. He's like, hang on a second. Oh, my gosh, with this guy already. Do you think the Padres are going to trade Gonzalez and Bell this year? Bell is. A really likely trade because they have Gregerson and Adams, and if they can get even a mid-level prospect, it'll be a good trade because Bell is great, a fan favorite, but we have Gregerson, has extreme closer potential. We have Italiano, who had a great spring, and as soon as he was acquired, and A-ball.
Has been throwing like he'll be a closer in a few years. Good deal. And then for Gonzo, what do you think? You'd probably hate to see him. Who's your favorite Padre? Kyle Blanks. Kyle Blanks. And he hit a bomb yesterday. And you said to me off the air, you said you think he can hit 55 homers. Not this year, but next year. Even at Petco? Even at Petco. Wow. That's some gnarly power. If you've seen him hit, he hit some no-doubters. He hit some far. Can I talk to his mom, Gianna? Please do. Gianna, come over to the microphone. Now, do you understand any of this? Because I don't. I do not. You do not. You don't understand any of this. There's a lot of mm-hmm, mm-hmm. Okay, all right. Now, he's 12. How long has he been doing this? This is about the third year. Really? Gianna, can I have him? I can't have him? So, at nine years old, he started with this stuff? Yeah, about nine or ten. That's awesome. This would probably put my wife in the grave. If this was my son, she'd be like, really? Again with the baseball? Is this all you hear? Yeah, sometimes we have to turn it off. Really? Dude, I watch probably 100 Yankee games on my laptop every year. And I mix it with whatever. I was living in Dallas, so I watch a lot of the Texas Rangers. So I watch 100 Yankee games on my laptop. Now I'll have the Padres on here, the Yanks on my belly, and I'll be good to go. That's fantastic.
He's a great kid. He has people that he can talk to about it. Really? I'm just not one of them. Great kid. Great kid. And we'd love to have you on and talk some baseball with Woodsy like once a week. Yeah. If you're down with that. Consider it done. That'd be really cool. Thank you. Can you go to school, Noah? He's off, right? Yeah, I'm off right now. You're off for spring break? But usually, what time would you go? Eight. Eight? So you'll be up at 6.30 to call us. He's like, hey, teacher, I got to take this call. I got to call my boy Woodsy. Hey, don't worry about it. Don't worry about me. That's right. You guys are on your own paper. That's fantastic. I love it. His cell phone goes off. He's like, oh, with Rosenhaus already. Drew, give me a break. I'm in algebra, dude. I'm in class, bro. I'm in algebra. I'll talk to you about, yes, Ellsbury. Yeah, he's a good move. Yeah, I think. He's got potential. I'll talk to you about it later. I got to go, bro. I'm putting you on vibrate. You understand? You're killing me already. I love it. It's the best. Thank you, Noah. Thanks, Noah. It's very good stuff. Very good stuff. All right, real quick. What did Obama do? We already told you about the thing with the controversy with him breaking out the hat. But what did he do that's causing some controversy that has to do with him knowing about the White Sox? I'll tell you about that in a little bit, too. Also, got to...

We're going to be at the Garden Area Bistro at the Stone Brew. It's awesome, man. It's going to be on Friday. And we just want to meet you and hand you that sticker, man. Got a new Mikey Show M1 Nation sticker. It's real cool. And we want to get one on your ride. By the way, if you want to get one before then, the only way that you could do it is by coming down to the radio station during business hours and getting it from our front desk, which is also acceptable. You are allowed to do that. Had to take an x-ray yesterday. Why? For my back in chiropractic. And I asked the guy, I said, we have no plans to have any more babies. But if I do, will this x-ray in any way affect my swimmers? And he goes, good point. Hang on a second. Runs out of the room, comes back in. He's got this, like, big shield.
I had to wrap around the piece. Really? It was big? It was a little tiny shield. It was a shield the size of an acorn. Did Rebecca ask one of you to ask the doctor about your swimmers if they would be okay? Or was that you? I did that on my own volition. Wow. Why? Why? Because if there's some sort of an accident, I want to make sure that the swimmers are protected. You want a girl? No, I do not want more kids. A girl? A little Rebecca? I don't want any more children. So you said you want kids then. More of them. Lots more. He just didn't want his baby to be able to walk up walls. That's right. That's right. And who knows what happens with that. It's so strange to me that an x-ray doesn't hurt, but it takes a picture of your insides. How is that possible? Yeah, that's weird. Hello, the body scanner. I know it. Can't be good. And all they, like you hear, That's all you hear. And they're like, okay, good. We're done. I'm like, what? Yeah, and they need to stand in a separate room. Yeah. They go out of the room. With like a bulletproof vest on. Hey, pal. How come you're in a NASA suit and you're standing behind a wall with a window? I'm fine. You stay in there, though. Don't come in here. But why are you over there? Don't worry about me. All right. I know what I'm doing. It's weird. The button is in here. I got to push the button. Come in here with me. No, I can't do that. Take the picture with me. No, no, no, no, no, no.
You know that. Don't move. Remember, don't move. Don't move. Why do I have a steel plate in front of my piece? No, it's fine, dude. It's fine. It's fine. Are you sure it's fine? Just relax. You're going to screw it up. Don't come in here. Don't come in here. Do not come in here. Yeah, don't touch me for five minutes after we do this. All right? And don't make any salad. Don't make salads for five minutes. Remember back in the day when microwaves first came out? That was like, you could put your food in, but you had to walk away. People were like, dude, don't stand too close. Yeah, you're still not supposed to. Guess what? There's still people that do that. I know a guy doesn't use a microwave, only uses an oven. I know. You know a girl standing right across from you. Is that by... See, I thought that was out of necessity. Like, because your place is too small. Well, no. For a microwave? I thought that's what you said. Man and I live in a closet. It didn't come equipped with one. And so we were like, we should probably get one. And then everything that we do now, we just do stovetop or oven. And then I got to thinking about it because there were certain things that I wouldn't microwave anyway. Like? Like a cup of tea or something like that. Like coconut husk? No, I would only do stuff that really required it. Wheat soup? Nah, like wheat soup. No, like leftovers, whatever. Like, okay, so let's say you guys have a pizza and you have leftover.
What do you do? Turn the oven on 350, pop it in for like five minutes. That's a beating. That's a beating. No, it's not. Oh, my goodness. Well, once you get used to it, you realize that you're like, wow, if this takes 40 minutes in the oven and 30 seconds in the microwave, that can't be right. You know, when you do think about that, like if you do stop just for a minute and you go, I put that piece of pizza in there for 45 seconds and press start. And in 45 seconds, it starts bubbling and popping with heat. But it takes 10 minutes at 350 degrees. To heat up. To do that. What's up with that? I just fry mine in a pan. Who cares? It's not like any of us are going to stop using the microwave. It's true. I really don't, because the thing is, I put pizza in the microwave, tastes foul. Every time I do it. Rice in the microwave, foul. I think the microwave takes the flavor right out of all the flavors. You know what I need? Toaster oven. Yeah, toaster oven. It's a good compromise. I think in the new place, we'll spring for the toaster oven. What about one of those convection ovens that sits on top of your counters? Do they take a while to heat up? What's that? It looks like a toaster oven, but it uses convection, so it works better. That's big time, dude. I think it's just a toaster oven. It's a fan that moves real fast and moves the hot air around. You get them at Williams-Sonoma. That's right. I have no idea what you're talking about. All right.
That was my Mikey voice, actually. No, is it? Yeah. That was my Mikey. You guys, you've never been to Williams-Sonoma? You get them at Williams-Sonoma, guys. Let's see. Did you guys hear about the three-year-old driver? No. I'm going to take that as a no. That's a no. What happened? A three-year-old driver. Yeah, this happened in Wisconsin. A mother apparently ran inside the house real quick while her three-year-old was sleeping in the back seat. But the three-year-old woke up. She was in the house a little too long. Got in the front seat. turned on the car, decided it was a good idea to start driving, made it two blocks down the road, and then was recognized and got pulled over. I heard the lady said that she just ran in for a second. It just took a second. I wonder what that 911 call would have sounded like. What's your emergency? Yes, hi. I just pulled over a car, and there is a little boy driving it. Now, as far as I can tell, there's been no damage. But, boy, how old are you? How old are you?
Boy, three, three years old, three years old. And he was driving the car. I flashed my bright. So he pulled over and I'm just standing at the door with him. I don't know where his parents are. I don't know anything. He's not, you know, he's obviously young. He's not really talking to me. Yeah. And you were able to get him to pull over. He pulled over something. Yeah. I flashed my bright and he pulled over. I was honking a couple of times. And finally, yeah, he. He even put on his blinker. It was weird. Well, what's the problem? Was he weaving? I understand that he's three, but was he breaking any laws? You need to have a driver's license to drive a car, don't you? Oh, that's right. Can I talk to... Is he there? Yeah, yeah, he's right here. Hold on. He wants to talk to you. You're in big trouble. Hello. Is this the three-year-old? Yep. You were driving a car? Yeah. Okay, where are you going? My friend's house. Okay, and you're three? Yeah, I'm three. Are you wearing diapers and stuff like that? No, I don't wear diapers anymore. You don't wear diapers. I go potty by myself. Okay. Sorry about that. Can you tell me what you think you're doing? You realize you're not old enough to drive. Says you. No, I know that, but I'm an adult and you're a child, so you can't be driving.
Maybe you worry about it yourself. Don't worry about it. I drive silly, dude. I'm good. Where are your mommy and daddy? You don't worry about them either. They're at work. Okay. Are you going to do this again, or do I need to send somebody out there? Maybe I will. Maybe I won't. Don't worry about it. Okay. Yeah, that's definitely an answer then. I'm definitely going to have to send some cruisers out there to have a firm talking to with you. It's great. Okay. Have you spit up? No, I didn't spit up. I don't spit up on myself. Do you have any gas? No, I don't have gas. All right. Have you made any potty within the last couple hours? Yeah, I pottyed in the... Careful. Well, all kinds of crews are out there, and we'll just see how we're doing. Yeah, we will see. Maybe I'll be here, maybe I won't. Okay, thank you, three-year-old. Thank you, pal. Combative. Wow. Three-year-old throwing the pal at you. Sounded like a man. You got to figure he would be combative. Sound like a man-child. Sound like a man-child. That figure would be combative, though, if he took a car. You know, if he's the kind of kid that would take the car without asking. Kind of like one of your boys. Yeah, yeah. For sure. I know a couple guys like that. A couple. Tom Tom Girl and Movie Phone Guy are with us. As you know, Tom Tom Girl is an actual Tom Tom unit in Woodsy's car. Yeah, she's gotten herself into some crazy adventures. She really has. Crazy.
She really has. And she's here with us right now. And so is the movie phone guy who she's dating. Hi, movie phone guy. How are you? Good morning. How are you doing? Great. Yeah, you don't look great. You look like you're irritated. And so does Tom Tom Girl. How could you tell, Mikey? Because both of you are, you have the body posture, like you're TomTom girl. You have your arms folded. Movie phone guy, you have your arms folded. She's a machine. She doesn't have arms. Well, she does have arms. See, that's the thing. You're not even noticing her. You're not even paying attention to her. Welcome to my life. I'm very self-involved. You are. You don't even know that she is clearly, clearly in need of you and your loving arms. Why don't you give her a hug? Why don't you get... Yeah, I want to see a hug. Maybe keep your eyes on your own paper. See, instantly it was like he didn't want to give her a hug. What? You guys haven't worked this out yet? They're not even looking at each other. Oh, this is bad. I know it. They haven't worked it out. I was thinking about you guys. It hasn't gotten better, right? Has it gotten better? Yeah, they looked at each other. They looked at each other. Movie phone guy and Tom Tom girl looked at each other like, I don't know. Do you think it's gotten better? No. Doesn't look like it's gotten better. Not a good sign. Mikey, I've tried. Yeah.
And maybe you can talk some sense into this guy. Movie phone guy. Last time we talked, she said that you are not fulfilling her needs. And she was leaving you drunk messages on your answering machine. You remember? Correct. First of all, I wasn't drunk, Mikey. You were sloshed. My batteries were out of sorts. You're hammered. Blame that on your boy at Woods. White wine spritzer, anybody. Yeah, does that ring a bell, Tom Tom girl? Maybe I had one or two, but I don't think that I was that soft. Or nine. Who's counting? I'm going to go through an exercise with you guys that I really think can help you in your relationship. Are you willing? I'm willing and able, Mikey. Sure. It didn't sound very... It sounded a little patronizing if you ask me, Mikey. To me, it sounded patronizing. To you, it sounded patronizing. Either way, you guys are perfect. Obviously. All I'm saying, man, is maybe you guys give this a shot. Maybe you'd be open to some new ideas. Maybe I'm open to other women. No, no, no. You don't want to do that. See, you hurt TomTom girl's feelings with that. If she had feelings, they'd probably be devastated right now. Mikey, I have feelings. You do? I do, but they don't get jilted. Uh-oh. They don't what?
She short-circuited again. How many cocktails have you had this morning? Hang on, hang on. Let me put some batteries in here. Her batteries were not plugged in right. There we go. Is it powered up now? Mission Valley located 0.2 miles. That's what happens when you put the batteries back in. Watch this. In the middle of talking, I'm going to unplug her battery. Tom Tom girl, how are you feeling about him right now? Do you feel like you want to work on this relationship? I feel like. Oh, no. See, the batteries went out. Wow. Now watch this. Put the battery back in here and I connect them. Is this some sort of game, Mikey? Are you having fun? Maybe you push your own buttons. She is. She's really on one today. All right. Well, listen, I have an idea for your relationship. I want you to try this Tom, Tom girl, movie phone guy. What I'm going to do is a lot of times with my patients, what I'll do is you guys have to get into the proper mindset of love. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to hand you these scripts. This is a script to the movie.
Titanic. Oh, I love this movie. Shirley, you can't be serious. I am serious, and don't call me Shirley. Good one, Mikey. Airplane. Thank you. Showing at Fashion Valley Mall. It hasn't for 45 years. Airplane. So here's what we're going to do. You guys are going to do a scene from the movie Titanic, okay? What is Titanic, Mikey? Titanic is a movie. It was one of the second highest grossing motion picture. Of all time. Behind Avatar. For Avatar. Press one. Thanks, movie phone guy. You'll love it, TomTom girl. See what I put up with on a daily basis, Mikey. He has a one-track mind. That's true. That's true, he does. But he has to put up with drunk dials from you. Okay, enough of that. All right. Let's try this. Let's try this little exercise. Movie phone guy, you're going to be Leonardo DiCaprio's character, Jack. And you, TomTom girl, you're going to be Kate Winslet's character, Rose. Shall I begin Root, Maggie? Yes, begin Root. I love you, Jack. Don't you do that. Don't say your goodbyes. I'm so cold. Listen, Rose, you're going to get out of here. You're going to go on and make lots of babies. And you're going to watch them grow. You're going to die in old.
An old lady warm in her bed. But not here. Not this night. Not like this. Do you understand me? I can't feel my body. Winning that ticket, Rose, was the best thing that ever happened to me. Wait, hang on. And scene. No, it isn't. Not yet. I want to hear Tom Tom Girl deliver that last line one more time. And we'll pick it up from there. Same way, Mikey, or should I put a little more oomph in it? No, please. I loved it the same stupid. Jesus. Just do it the exact same way. I can't feel my body. Movie phone guy? Winning that ticket, Rose, was the best thing that ever happened to me. It brought me to you.
And I'm thankful for that, Rose. I'm thankful. You must do me this honor, Rose. Promise me you'll survive. That you won't give up. No matter what happens. No matter how hopeless. Promise me now, Rose. And never let go of that promise. I promise. Never let go. I'll never let go. I'll never let go, Jack. And scene. Don't you guys feel the love now? I feel a little bit silly, Mikey. As do I. As do I. I can't believe you made me do this. Who is Rose? She's a star. Rose is the character that you played. Now all you have to do is live out those two characters in your regular lives and you'll fall madly in love. I don't appreciate being called an old lady, Mikey. You're not an old lady. Sounds a little bit like Woods. That doesn't. I didn't write it, genius. James Cameron did. That's right. I was talking to Mikey, genius. You guys need to work this out. This is all they do all day long. Great work, Dr. Mikey. Feeling much better. This was a very useful exercise, Mikey. As usual.
Maybe we can agree on something, darling. Absolutely. Mikey's a moron. Ha, ha, ha. Aw. That's how she laughs. Thanks for bringing us back together, Mikey. Laugh again. Ha, ha, ha. Dreams really can come true on The Mikey Show. Absolutely. Maybe you guys will be on the next dating game. It's so cute. Could be. It's really awesome. Mikey Show, FM 94.9, located Mission Valley. Wow. 9-2-1-0-8. Would you like to go to the meet and greet on Friday? Why not? Wine not? That's what you should be saying. Wine not, because you drink a lot. You drink a lot of the wines. They just set up a date. Oh, you guys are going to go to Stone Brew and get the sticker? I'm in if she's in. Stone Brewery, located Escondido, 37 miles. That's right. Your therapy works. Hey, movie phone guy, doesn't I get tired after a while? Everything you say, she tells you how far away it is? Not at all. Yeah? It's cute, right? She's very cute. Okay. This is the best day of my life so far, Mikey. Yeah, guess what? Never let go. Never let go. I'll never let go. I'll never let go. Movie phone guy.
What in the world is happening? I'm just staring at both of them. I'm just staring at them. What's happening? Weirdest radio I've ever done. I don't know. 24 years. Weirdest radio I've ever done. It looks like it worked, man. That's fantastic. It totally worked. You're a good therapist. I'm so happy for the two of them. Well, I think it was your dumb therapy brought there together. Dumb therapy. They finally were able to agree on something, and then it was that you don't know what you're doing as a doctor. That's so sweet. Isn't that good? I mean, it did work. It's heartwarming. It really warms me. Oh, man. I cannot wait. There's a couple things that we're going to get into here. One of them is... Old wives tales. I love it. Wives tales are ridiculous to me. And the reason that they're ridiculous, because every one of us listening right now, our parents believe them. It doesn't matter what I tell my mom. She believes you get a cold if it's cold outside. Your eyes will go cross-eyed if you sit too close to TV. It'll ruin your vision. It'll ruin your vision. My mom says if your ears are ringing, it means someone's talking about you. If your hand itches, you're going to get some money.
Yes. Is that an old wives tale? Is your mom a gypsy? Yeah. No. But I've heard all those. Yeah. I'm like, Mom, you have to come in contact with something called a virus. Right. In order to get something called a cold. You got to, you know, it's got to go into your good work. Never mind, Mom. No, no, no. If you go outside and it's chill. With your shoes off, you're going to get a cold. You'll get a cold. You'll catch one. You'll catch your death of cold. You can. Really? A bronchial. Not necessarily bronchial. Well, that's a cold. A cold is bronchial. It's coughing. It's sneezing. It's a runny nose. It's actually got symptoms to it that come from a virus. The germs actually happen when you're inside and the heat is on and it's all festering in that closed up air. It's true. You touch something that has cold virus and then you rub your eyes and your nose. It doesn't have to do with temperature. But one of the things that we have is... we have this thing that's going to tell us which ones are true and which ones aren't true, which I can't wait to talk about. Then there's another thing I want to talk about. The other thing that we're going to tell you about is the guys. We all have a way of sleeping. I found out yesterday, by the way, that I sleep the wrong way. What's the wrong way? Well, there's a way that's very unhealthy for you. And it's the way that I sleep, which I'll tell you about. In your pod?
Mikey sleeps in an oxygen pod. In your oxygen pod? How dare you. Your fictitious, made up, 39-year-old oxygen pod. When I go to sleep, I imagine that I'm in a pod. Who doesn't? Filling with oxygen. Oxygenated air that I breathe in and it helps me fall asleep. Did you do it last night? I do it every night. What do you mean did I do it last night? I do it every night. What did you do last night? I pretended that I was inside of an oxygenated pod, filling with oxygen. And that helps me to fall asleep. It's unbelievable. Woodsy puts shampoo on his lips. Shampoo lips. Did anybody try it? No, it's a soapy mess. I'm going to go get some right now. So when we come back, I'm going to tell you, the way that you sleep as a dude, whether you sleep on your back, whether you sleep on your side, whether you sleep hugging a pillow on your stomach.
The way you sleep says something about you. And I'll tell you what. Today, Jay's picking the music, and that's why you're listening to The Sundays sometime. I said, his music, Jay picks music that sounds like it'd be in the new Apple commercial. Yeah, it's a good call. The new iPod. The new iPod. Recreating the way that you do life. Wirelessly. This is Bird from Dragon Eyewear with the FM 94.9 Authentic Surf Report for a Tuesday morning. Brought to you, of course, by Guayaquil Yerba Mate. It is a drink of choice, and it is rainforest-grown and certified to be so. Today we are looking at some mixed-up surf out there, as you would expect from the winds that we've been seeing lately. A combination of some south swell out in the water, southwest swell, and some west-northwest swell, too, colliding together. Most spots have saw eyes, waist chest high, shoulder high sets.
Top spots head high, but again, it's pretty much a mixed match. It's still swell directions. Some of the beach breaks look okay. Port of air shape maybe at best with some crossed up pick and choose peaks. A little bit of an offshore wind holding them up right now, but that dropping tide is going to cause those areas to become more closed out. And then the reef breaks, again, really sloppy and not a whole lot of length for a ride to be found then. If the wind continues to blow offshore, we could see some gradual cleanup throughout the day, but right now still looking messy, although it is surfable. A little Steve Miller. You guys think that the Aquanet hair for chicks will come back? No. People said that about a lot of stuff, though. No way, dude. The big hair? Mm-hmm. You should see my wife's senior picture. Good Lord. See my wife's sophomore picture. You just mean like big, puffy hair with hairspray? I'm talking a big, puffy hair with the sides that go out like wings. No. Sprayed to the side? Sprayed wings. Why do you say no, Lauren? Because that stuff is like uber damaging, and I think people know that now. Really? I didn't consider that. Yeah, it's all alcohol. It dries your hair out like a mo. Maybe they'll come up with something, because I think that the look. No. Dude, the dorkier it is. No. Well, the poof is back. What's the poof? It was like the bouffant. Not a fan. In the 50s, and now it's like the snooky poof.
Maybe the beehive will come back. I bet everything does. Fashion shows, the hairstyles that you see in fashion shows are a lot different than what you see on the street. So are the clothes. Dudes are going to have long hair, bro. Dudes are going to have long hair again. Dudes have long hair. Dudes have long hair. I mean long like Sebastian Bach. Like Lestat? Yeah, like Lestat. That's Sienna's wedding. Like Jesse? Yeah. That's going to come back like an 80s hair rocker. I bet you. Kids are all doing it right now. Yep. Well, I haven't seen it long. No, they do the skater surfer cut. That's right. It kind of molds to their face. Yeah. You know? The shag. If I could do it, I would. The shag. Would you? Oh, 100. Oh, my God. If I could. Nobody make Mikey with a shag face. Please. See what he looks like. Please. Nobody do that, would Chip? I just walked right into it. Yeah. Nobody make Mikey with the new surfer shag haircut. What's wrong with it? I like long hair. Yeah. If I could be tall. This is, okay, let me, I'll tell you what, here's my wish list. And before I even say it, I'll tell God, hey, I'm happy, I'm happy. You know, I'm 5'6 and bald and Mexican. It's great. Yeah, yeah, definitely. But here's what it would be. Six feet tall, five o'clock, you know, stubble growing in. George Michael. Not George Michael, just stubble. You know, there'd be stubble, okay?
Have you thought about this before? Yes. We're talking about it? No, no, no. We're talking about it. I'll give it to you. Stringy, like kind of unkempt. What? Like James Gunn? No. I'll tell you like who. Eddie Vedder. No. That's it? I'll tell you the look. John Foreman, Switchfoot. Cool look. The lead singer of Switchfoot. John Malkovich, that movie he does with Clint Eastwood when he plays that creepy. President assassinated? That's what I picture when I hear long, stringy hair. That's not it. Enemy, what is it called? I don't know. I will tell you this. In a second, we're going to be telling you about the wives' tale stuff and the sleep positions. Owen Wilson hair? Kinda. Not like that? Kinda. There, I'll show you right now. You guys want to, if you guys want to brawl. I'm just really trying to think. Anybody says they want stringy hair? That sounds weird. Stringy doesn't sound like the right word. It doesn't sound like the right word. I want really frizzy, dry hair. Split ends. Yes, a lot of split ends. Let's see. All right, here's John Foreman from Switchfoot.
Oh, yeah, that's money, dude. That's not stringy, bro. It's not stringy? That's golden locks. Yeah, that's golden locks, and it's long. That's like the shag cut we were talking about. It goes past, if it was pulled up toward the chin, it would go to the chin. Yeah. Like the bottom of your hair, if you pulled it toward your chin, it would reach the tip of your chin. I'm going to try it. I've never had long hair. My wife thinks that all those guys on Grey's Anatomy are hot. Well, obviously they are. Yeah, but none of them have long hair. No, but I think she likes that stubble thing. Yeah. Oh, who doesn't? The women like the stubble thing. She hates the stubble. It's not nice when you give someone a kiss, though. Yeah. That show, by the way, is emotional terrorism. I talked about it the other day. I walk in the room, and here's the scene. I walk in our bedroom, and Grey's Anatomy is on. On the show. On the show.
is some guy who's been married to some girl, some woman, for 55 years, and the doctor comes out, and his lip is quivering, and he's like, a tear is pouring over his eye. And they're playing like... And so it is. Yeah, stuff like that they play. Yes. And I look at my wife, and she's laying in bed, devastated. Oh, yeah. I mean, she's devastated. That is my... favorite show and I cry 99% of the time. I had it. She's not going to make it. Yeah, that's it. She's not going to make it. We did everything we could. Don't even joke about something like that. Don't tell me that because this is the woman I've been with for 50 years. It's not going to happen. You don't understand. We've just saved up enough money to buy a lake house. It's not going to happen. Wait a second. You can't do this to us. It wasn't me. No! It's a great show. We had LaDainian Tomlinson in the studio. And I said, what's the biggest thing on your TiVo right now? And he goes, I have to admit it. It's Grey's Anatomy. Unbelievable. I go, are you kidding? I can't stand the show. This is planned. I go, I look over my wife. She's mashed potatoes. She's mashed potatoes. Like, I cried to the point where it's like. Yeah, yeah. She's like, she's.
Yeah. And I go, I go, jihad. She goes, and I go, it's emotional terrorism. That is the worst thing you could do is come in and ruin a good cry like that when you're watching Grey's Anatomy. It feels good to get a cry out. It feels great. Soap opera. I'm telling you, dude. Prime time. But it's like, it's like kicking a guy in the nuts and you're like, I can't believe that you're like buckling down. Why are you crying? Why are you crying? I'm like, it's unfair. It's not even fair the way that they get you on that show. That's honey in my ears, by the way. The show, however, I do need to say, is going downhill. Is it? That's what she said. It is, because Katherine Heigl's not on it anymore, which makes a huge difference because her character was amazing. Couldn't tell you one thing about that show. She was the one that made me cry all the time. She was a blonde chick named Izzy. Then what they'll do is... This song will be playing, and they'll use the same song, but they'll switch to, like, different scenes of different characters. And the next character is a guy who's, like, telling this girl who he's engaged with, he's like, hey, I'm glad we could talk. I didn't know when we'd have a moment together. I know your parents are flying out and everything, and it's going to be our big day. I love you.
Stop. No one just says that. Really? Then they cut to two gay men. Yeah, two gay guys, and they're like, well, I guess this is it, right? Apparently so. I guess it wasn't what we thought. Well, you need to get your stuff and get it out of here. Before I do that, maybe we consider being friends. I can be friends. Can you? Yes, can you? Can you? This does not happen on Grey's Academy. Can you? You are so catty. This doesn't happen anywhere. This doesn't happen. You're ruining the show. You guys would like it. There was one episode where a guy had like some sort of a tree syndrome and there was branches coming out of his bones. Yeah, Woodsy is putting his both fingers in his mouth right now. You look so real. Branches. That's a real, that happened. It's on the Discovery Channel. They don't just make things up on Grey's Anatomy. That's what Grey's Anatomy is. That's what Grey's Anatomy is. Tree guy. Tree guy. That was one episode. Sir. Yes? I can't believe I have to be the one to tell you this, but you're not just a patient. I'm not? You're like family. I am? Yeah, you are. And so I got to tell you something. I just came to the hospital. Can you sit down? Sure. Yeah, I'll sit. Your son.
is no longer a maple. He's not? No. What is he? He's a cypress. You're kidding me. I'm not. Honey, did you hear that? Honey? I mean, Renee? Did you hear that? He's no longer a maple. Oh, what is he? A sapling or something? She's not playing long in this at all. They wanted you to play along so bad. She's out. Sorry. You can't make fun. That's a real thing. It's writing things down. The branch guy. I got branches growing out of my arms. That's real. He does. One guy got in asphalt when it was wet and it dried in it and they had to get it off. How do you get asphalt off of someone? Chisel. I don't know because I'm watching Man vs. Wild. I'm watching The Office. Okay, but listen. It's much more like... These dramedy things that happen, it's much more likely that you'll get into a situation like that and you'll be prepared for it than, like, the man versus wild. Mikey, when are you ever going to be in that situation? I'm not talking an urban survivor. You have no idea how many times men are accidentally dropped into the Sahara. All the time. Every day. This weekend. Let me tell you something. I know how to now use my...
Forefinger and middle finger to tell you how many hours of daylight are left. Really? I can tell you which direction is south by using my watch and the sun. Really? Because of Bear Grylls, yeah. Using your watch? Using my watch. Okay, okay, okay. Okay, you go outside when the sun's up. I'll test it right now. I'll test it right now. You go outside and you point the 12 at the sun. Okay. Halfway between the 12 and wherever the hour sign is, is south. Wow. It's a true statement. I learned that from watching. But you know that and you don't know what an even or odd number is. Absolutely not. What is nine? Yes, dude. You nailed it. I just said something. 50-50. 50-50. 12. Yes. There you go. You're getting it. I get it. I thought we explained it in a good way the other day. I will never understand it. I just said that, but I have no clue. Anything that can be divided by two. Right.
What does that mean? You said that to me, and it was like you said, con glacias en bolivias. It means, okay, I can have, we have one big number of something, say 10. It means if we want to divide that number 10 between you and I, two people, you get five, I get five. Nobody gets extra. Right. All I know is that she started saying that, and I was like, Pepper's holding a banana made out of rock. We did it the other day in the car. I was talking to him, and I'm looking at him, and I'm like grabbing by the neck and be like, dude, divide it by two if it's come down. Yeah, my eyes glaze over like a shark. What if you had a visual? They were all in the back of my head like a shark about to attack. They go white. Yeah. You need an abacus or something? Yeah, an abacus. Forget it. Wives' tales. Eight old wives' tales. Let's hear them. And which ones are true? Okay, you guys tell me if you think they're true or false. They're all false, I bet. I don't believe in any wives' tale. Not all of them are false. They really are true sometimes? Scientists did research. Give them. Okay. Ginger is good for upset stomachs. True. Probably true. Probably true. That's why they give it to you at sushi restaurants. True. That's why people drink ginger ale. Yep. It's good for seasickness as well. Is it? Mm-hmm. You guys are correct. All right. An apple a day keeps the doctor away. True. True. Untrue. Doesn't do a thing for you. Maybe help you. It helps you brush your teeth and wake up in the morning. Really? Mm-hmm. Good energy. Sienna?
It is partially true. She's kind of overstating a little bit there, but the peel is a really good source of antioxidants, and it can lower your blood sugar, fight asthma and allergies, and prevent heart attacks. However, if you have a stomach ache, you know, Apple's not really going to help you. You know what's great about antioxidants? What? No one knows what an antioxidant is. But they're great, though. I want them. They're really great. Everyone wants them. I don't want any oxidants. I don't even really like blueberries, and I went to the grocery store yesterday, bought blueberries just because I know they have a lot of antioxidants. They're high in antioxidants. You're right. I want them. And you say that to people. and people are like, really? Oh, good. I got to get some. Get them in me. I told you once before, but you tuned out, so. About blueberries? About the antioxidant. You tried to explain it, but you started going into that hay talk, you know, all that healthy bark talk. Yeah, crazy talk. Hay and bark and twigs. Yeah, she started talking about stuff and your cells and all that. Kombucha and kimonos. I'm like, what is all that? Have you ever heard honey speeds healing? If you have like a moderate burn on your body, if you put honey on it.
Never heard it. Do you think it's true or false? I think that's absolutely false. I think it's true. It's dumb. I know it gets things into your system quicker. Yeah, honey. If you take honey. Yeah, you know what happens if you get a cut and you put honey on it? You know what gets into your system real quick? Honey. Honey. Well, it's true. Yeah. It creates a moist antibacterial environment that promotes tissue growth. Moist. So you're telling me. Yeah. That if I get a little baby cut. I should put honey on it? A burn. A moderate burn. Really? Yeah. Maybe it's a little like aloe. Maybe use aloe. Aloe. Yeah. Maybe use neosporin. I've never heard the honey one, but I have heard that if you get burned, like say, you know, you touch something hot on the stove. Yeah. You're supposed to put butter on it. Yeah. Have you guys heard that? Yeah. My mom did that to me when I was little. I did it too. Dude, that cannot be good for you. Yeah. Why not? Butter? Why not? Because it's got fat in it. That's good for you. Okay, true or false? Do you think that's true? Putting butter on a cut? Yeah, do you think, no, a burn, do you think that helps it? I do not. I think it's bad for it. It does not. Oh. It tastes good, though. People think it does. It does not. Wow. What about sleeping and air conditioning can give you a chill? Yes. This is one of the things your mom was talking, or you said your mom was talking about. Oh, a chill, like you get, like a cold? Well, if you sleep in air conditioning.
That it'll give you a chill. What's a chill? But like a cold. It gives you a cold. Give you a cold? No way. I say chill. No. Only way it can is if you don't have very good ventilation. Yeah, I was going to say if it's a dirty filter or something. And somebody with a cold is in your house. Behind the air conditioner, coughing into it as it's blowing into your face. Well, they say that that theory may be on to something because air conditioners dry out the protective layer of mucus along nasal passages, which likely allows viruses to infect you more easily. Living in Texas most of my life, we always had AC. Yeah, of course. And you lay there and you sleep at night with the AC on 50 like my wife likes it. And I would wake up with a sore throat every single morning without fail. Yeah. I kind of do too. But I love the air conditioning. I hate the AC. I love the ice cold. So artificial. Only if the wife is next to me. You guys hate AC. Oh, I hate it. Are you kidding me? I haven't had it. I haven't had it. However long I've lived out here, six years? What do you do in the summer? Open my windows. I open my window. Turn a fan on. What if it's 90? It's not at my house. Yeah, not at my house either. You live by the coast. You guys live in a perfect town? We live in San Diego, and so do you. Coastally. Yeah, but I've had to turn, I had to go by a fan. It was so hot in my apartment. Oh, yeah. People, if you live inland at all. If you're right by the coast, you're pretty much golden, yeah. If you moved inland, though.
You would, right? You wouldn't. I wouldn't do that. You know that. No, no, no. You know that. That's why I live in San Diego. Fluorocarbons, dude. Fluorocarbons. There's no way either of them are doing it. Yeah, you know the fluorocarbons will get you. There's no way. Fibromyalgia. Yeah, the biocanticity. You don't ever do that. Biocanticity. Photosynthesis. Photosynthesis. Okay, true or false, if you go out with wet hair, you'll catch a cold. You will. You will not. That's your mom's bit. So ridiculous. I say, well, you won't catch a cold, but you'll get really cold. You will not catch a cold. Absolutely 100% false. A wet head helps cold viruses take hold by tightening blood vessels in the nose and making it harder for white blood cells to reach the viruses and fight them off. My mom was right. I was wrong? I got to go tell my mom she's right about that? Better call her now. If you go outside with wet hair, it increases your chance of getting cold eyes. The viruses take hold of the wet hair. What is a cold anyway? It's a cough. It's a runny nose. It's itchy eyes. It's aches and pains. It's a fever. I know that. Well, it's not always a fever. Most of the time. Well, I know the only prescription for a fever is cowbell. Yeah, that's true. I do know that. You know that. You know that. Swimming after eating can lead. I got a fever. The only prescription.
It's more cowbell. That's right. That's right. Swimming after eating will give you cramps and maybe even cause for drowning. Yes. Every single mom told us, do not get in that swimming pool. You just ate a hot dog. 20 minutes. And you stomp on the cement in your swimsuit angry at your mom. Furious. Furious at your mom. You can get back in the pool. Because you want that hot dog. You want to take the hot dog in the pool. In the pool. If it was up to you. And she says, no, you got to eat that thing. You got to wait. How long does she tell you to wait? 20, right? 20? Half an hour. Half an hour. Yeah. False. Tell me that's false. It says it's not exactly true, but it's not completely wrong either. It can lead to a... I love that. It can lead to a buildup of lactate. Lactic acid in your muscles, so swimming a few laps too soon after lunch could cause a sudden cramp. Lactic acid? Really? Is that the saliva of the movie Alien? You know how your legs will burn when you're sore after you go for a run or something? That's a buildup of lactic acid. No, I don't know. I've never experienced it in my life. It means I would have had to have run somewhere.
Now, if you said, Mike, you know that thing that happens in your jaw after you've been eating for four hours straight? TMJ, lock jaw. Yeah, I've had that. Oh, yeah. I know that. This next one, my husband is convinced it's true. What? Chocolate gives you pimples. Oh, I'm convinced of that. False. I am convinced that chocolate gives you pimples. No way. You know why I think that? Because I'm not much of a sweets guy. I don't really eat sweets. But every time I have, every once in a while, I'll go on kind of a little binge. He's the same. I'll go on a little binge. Like, I'll have chocolate for about, if I eat chocolate, I'll have it for about two, three days in a row. Whoa. I'm like that with everything. If I go to a restaurant and I like it. I'll go there three days in a row until I get sick of it. Chocolate steak, chocolate pork chop. Chocolate everything. Chocolate tamales, obviously. Weird. Obviously. Chocolate chimichangas. Chocolate chimichangas. Mexican-ness is what defines you. Chocolate chinchillas. Yes. Science says that chocolate bars might trigger an acne flare-up, but it's not the cocoa that's the problem. It's the sugar, the milk, or the gooey fillings. Really? Gooey fillings. So it's actually not the cocoa, the chocolate part. It's the sugar that goes in there. What about the nougat?
The nougat. That's a gooey filling. I love nougat. It's my favorite. Is that it? Yep. Wow, that was informative, Sienna. Producer Jay, how do you sleep? A couple ways. Sometimes on my stomach and most of the time on my side. Well, I was informed yesterday by my Cairo that sleeping on your stomach is a bad thing. Oh, yeah. You didn't know that? No. Didn't know that. But I love it, though. Why is it bad for your back? That's how I sleep, on my stomach. I just recently switched. Two? Because of my arm. Because of throwing and stuff. It's really been hurting. I used to sleep with the right arm under the pillow and then my head on the right arm. And I can't do it. So now I've been sleeping on my side. I sleep like an old woman. How's that? I sleep on my back with maybe a pillow elevated under my feet. Oh, I thought you meant with a shawl and knitting. And a kerchief. And a kerchief. I thought you meant with a bonnet. And a long cotton nightgown. I take my teeth out. Put them next to the man. I put two pillows, like a V, okay? And the V mouth opens towards my head. So particular. I'm very particular. The V mouth opens towards your head. Yeah, so the V, so it's like an upside down V, okay? And I put right arm around and left arm around, okay? Oxygen. And then I switch.
Each, I'll switch from one to the other. In the box while you sleep? No, I'll switch back and forth. Like every 10 minutes, I'll switch. That's not that annoying for Rebecca at all. Not at all. That's not good for you. You're not getting like. You're not getting ready to sleep. Yeah, you're interrupting your sleep. I heard that it really cuts down on antioxidants in my body when I switch. I sleep on my stomach with both of my arms up around the pillow and one leg like a can opener. You know what I mean? Out of the blanket. Like lifted up. That's better. And tilted. That would drive me crazy. But I can't sleep like that anymore because I'm pregnant and it's awful. So now you sleep on your side or your back? Well, Todd got me a maternity, like one of those body pillows for my birthday. And I'm really, it's like great to have, but it's also, it's so big in our bed. Yeah. So I'm trying to get used to it. Weird question. Yeah. How did Sienna sleep on her stomach? I know. Seriously. You know what I mean? Stuff just spilling over the sides. It's called a sports bra. You slept in a sports bra? Yeah, I have like the little sports bra tank top. Jamie has a picture of me. One night, I lost my mind. Apparently, I was sleeping flat. I love this already. Flat on my face. She took a picture. Both of my legs are on my stomach, right? Both of my legs are up in the air behind me. And she's like, she went to go to the bathroom or something. She's like...
what the hell is she doing? And both of my legs were up and she goes... Okay, raise your hand if you thought he was going to say that he had a sports bra on. Yeah, absolutely. I thought he was going to say he had a sports bra on. I absolutely thought that was going to go. Why? Because I thought you were going to say one night. I thought, you know what? I lost my mind. I lost my mind. I put her sports bra on. And just took the wind right out of my bed. I thought. No, we did not. Why the hell would I be wearing a sports bra? Because we were just talking about wearing sports bra. Why the hell would you have your feet sticking straight up while you're sleeping? When we come back, I'm going to tell you what it... Now, this is a particular thing with guys. Yeah. This article is about dudes. So when we come back, I'm going to tell you what it says about you. Because your personality does dictate a little bit. About how you sleep. Like Jay's, totally his personality. When he said the two things he does, dead on. So we'll find out about ourselves. Woodsy, how do you sleep? Now on my side. And I cuddle a pillow because I have nobody to cuddle. You used to sleep on your stomach? Yeah. We'll tell you what that means when we come back. If your guy sleeps on your back, if your guy sleeps on your back, we'll tell you who you are next. FM 94.9 Bud Light Concert Calendar.

Let me tell you about the al pastor tacos, man. We marinate it for 24 hours and then we grill it with grilled pineapple. Delicious, sweet, sour, spicy, all at the same time. Hey, Brian from the Nervous Records. What are you doing here hanging out with Mark and Caesar? Hey, Tim Piles, we're just eating some food. Really? Are you sure you're not cutting a commercial? KBCT San Diego, Lincoln Financial Media Station. The new home of The Mikey Show. This is FM 94.9. I just said, I don't know what it is, but I like it. The sound. That's good. How does Jay find all this music? I don't know. I'm embarrassed. Don't you feel like you'd be, like, roller skating on the boardwalk right now? I'm embarrassed. He knows a lot of good chick music. What do you find? No, I mean, like, girl rockers. I like girl rockers. Yeah. How do you find this stuff? That's an interesting question. I just have a lot of friends that are really into music, and I listen to a lot of music. I'll go through my library, because I just gather stuff and put it in there.
And every once in a while I'll just go and I'll put all new stuff that I have no idea about on my iPod and then I'll just listen to it. And I have a thing where I have to listen to it more than once because I think you can't hear songs the first time. I'm too lazy, I think. I love it. Yeah, I get bored and burned out. I'm the first time guy. If I like it the first, if I can sing along to it the first time I hear it, I'm in. You know what I've been doing? I've been hoarding a lot of music. that I'm not going to listen to until my 22-hour drive back from Dallas. Yeah. And, like, I've hoarded all these CDs from Garrett's office that I've burned under my eye that I just won't listen to. Why? I'm saving them for the drive. Really? Maybe in the drive, though, you'd know what you really want to go to. No, see, that's going to be 22 hours of time I can really invest in listening to some good new music. And, like, I've downloaded all these new CDs, and I'm like, I really want to get in this band, but I'm going to wait. We could not be more different than that. 22 hours of unfamiliar music to me sounds like they would do that at Guantanamo. I wouldn't belong to it. Oh, forget it. I want to have my hands out the sunroof. Whenever I hear a song that I like, I will play it over and over and over and over again until I get sick of it. To me, a great song is a song that I hear it one time and then the rest of the day I'm still singing it.
Yeah. Case in point. Well, this is a hard station, dude, to be, you know. I mean, hey, there's some musical people up here that know their stuff. And I came in and I was like, yeah, dude, I know a lot of music. I feel like an idiot walking around. I'm like. You guys know STP? They're pretty alternatives. I'm just getting killed. You know a lot of music. Our program director Garrett's going to add Pants on the Ground. Oh, is he? Yeah, he starts spinning it. He would never. He just made him wreck his car. Hey, Mike, before you get off the air, make sure you tell everybody that I'm not really going to add Pants on the Ground. That's a good one. Unless the arcade fire cover it, and then we can put it on the dad there. That's right. What is the sleep position of a male? Okay. Say about him. That's what we're talking about. Well, first I'm going to say, Jay, Mike, and Woods, pick the one way. Face down, on your side, on your back, just basic. Tell me what you do. Yeah, I sleep on my stomach. Mike's stomach, okay? Yes. Woods. Side. Side. Jay, you only have one choice. Really? What would it be, Jay? I was on the phone.
Do you sleep face down if you only had to pick one? I would say now I'm more of a side guy because of my back. Okay. All right. So this is what that means. This is an article that tells you the way guys sleep, what it tells you about them. Yes. Face down, none of you. Mikey, I'm going to start with you on your stomach. There are people that sleep face down. Isn't that face down on your stomach? I think face down means like facing your pillow or what? No. I mean, you can't just, like, have your face in it. But, yeah, face down. I guess you have to turn. So that's on your stomach. No. This guy likes to be in control. Really? Yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Definitely me. That's true. Yeah, for sure. Okay. Woods and Jay are on their side. Men who snooze on their side tend to be laid back and quick to compromise. Could have told you that about them. Oh, man. Really? Quick to compromise? Hey, dude. Listen, when you get to be best friends with somebody, you know exactly who they are. When have you seen me sleep? What? I thought you said you could tell them that you'd seen me sleep on my side. Or are you just telling me that I'm laid back? I'm a little skeeved right now. That's kind of weird.
That is weird, dude. That's a little weird. He's got that on repeat. Somebody's watching me sleep at night. I felt a presence. You did? Yeah. That sends chills down the back of my neck. I felt a presence. Do you guys feel like yours was accurate, Woods? No, I'm not laid back at all. I didn't think. But he's a normal belly sleeper, and so is Jay. But they've had to change because he's had to change because of his arm. So they like to be in control. Because Jay told me he sleeps on his stomach, too. Because I was going to say he's laid back, but he also likes to be in control. I'm not laid back, and I have to be in control. Yeah. I'm the worst kind. I'm not laid back, but I think I'm laid back. Yeah. You know what I mean? Like, dude, I'm cool. It's cool. Yeah. I'm not. I'm a lunatic. Yeah. How does Matt sleep, Lori? He does all three. That's why I'm like, uh. But if you had to, like, how does he fall asleep? He shuffles all night. But, like, I know Todd will move around, but I know he always falls asleep on his back. Yeah, he falls asleep on his back. Like, lying like that. No, I mean, like, what's the bit for the back? People that fall asleep on their back. His open posture shows that he's secure and optimistic. Not me. Yeah, that's him. Insecure, pessimistic. Thank you. 100%. Okay, oh, here we go.
Thrashing around. So that's Matt. Constant movement indicates your guy is stressed. It's me too. Is he stressed? Who knows? He's dating L.O.B. Yeah. Who knows? He's stressed, too. That's her answer is who knows? He's a very happy, optimistic guy outwardly, but he grinds his teeth at night. I wonder what the teeth grinding is because I do it. Jake does it. I do it. I'm a snorer, too. Bad. Bad snorer. I don't snore. Jamie records that, too. I have to record Todd's snore. He has the weirdest snore I've ever heard. It's like... That's not a snore, honey. Like, it's like, it looks uncomfortable. He like... Purses his lips? Yeah, he purses his lips. Do it again. And I'm like, are you losing your breath? It's the weirdest. And I look at him, I'm like, that is so strange. You study it? I do this bit, though. Oh, God.
I'm so not surprised. I can never be married to Woods. She's like, really? Yeah, for just that reason, I'm sure. Yeah, only for that reason. Do you guys ever study your mate while they're asleep and you just check him out? Like, look at you. You're great. Sometimes I creep around the corner. Cut his skin off maybe for a minute. I just take a hair sample. Every once in a while, I'll take a picture if it's really cute. See, Matt will be working out a new song or he'll be trying to figure out something and he makes these faces. I stand there to see how long it'll take him to realize that I'm creeping. Wait a minute. You mean that's when he's awake? Oh, yeah. That's when he's awake. So he has no idea that you're watching him? I'll creep her on the corner. That's brilliant. I love when Lauren does that. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. When he's sleeping, though, you'll do the checkout thing? Oh, yeah. Yeah. Just get a sample of his. Yeah. You want to freak your mate out if they're sleeping on their back?
Get right up in front of them and just put your nose like a hair away from their face and just stare at them. No way. You mess. I mess with her. You mess with Jamie more than anybody I know messing with her mate. She breaks balls, too. Does she really? Oh, yeah. What does she do? She messes with me all the time. I don't think you've ever shared a story about, like, Jamie messing with you. No, I'm thinking of one. Because you say, like, Jamie is really, really hates. Fingernails and toenails. Oh, yeah. He'll clip his and he'll put them on her nightstand. On her pillow. On her pillow. On her pillow. And then yesterday, he said he does this thing. That was so gross. Okay. He'll put his finger, his forefinger, his forefinger and his thumb into a nostril. He'll pluck like five hairs. And then they'll be driving. They'll be driving and he'll go. Would you like a little bouquet? I think you call it a bouquet, though. It's a bouquet. That's what we call it in Texas. It's a bouquet. It's a bouquet. That is hysterical. Dude, I do. I'm a goof. You're exactly my husband. It's scary. We have to laugh. That is so not me and Rebecca. Really? You guys make each other laugh all the time. You make it sound like your house is like the Puritan. No, no, no.
Hello, darling. Dinner's served. Yes, dinner's served, darling. But I'm telling you, I've never been the bouquet guy. But you're one of the funniest dudes ever. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's just not that. Rebecca likes when Mikey falls. Yes. Oh, yeah. But you tell jokes and stuff. Yeah. You don't need, like... I don't do physical comics. Yeah, exactly. You guys from out of town, or...? Yeah. Where's everybody from tonight? That's what I do while we're driving. Hey, anybody here from Cleveland? Anybody here from Cleveland? No. Oh, really? Southside, eh? Woods, you said a story one time about Jamie and oh, she might be mad that I'm going to tell it, but I thought it was the funniest thing. And I actually told my husband Todd the story. He's like, that's so something that I would do to you. When you were driving, you guys had dinner with Mikey and she had fish or something and you're driving home in the car and she burped. And you're like, oh my gosh, I need to fart to cover up the smell of your burp. We had left. Maybe that French restaurant we went to? Yeah, yeah, yeah. We went to the French restaurant. And both of us were like... And she burped and I was like... I was like, what is that? And she started dying laughing. And I go, I literally lit a cigarette to cover it up. And I was like...
You're farting out of your mouth. I'm like, I need to fart to cover up the smell of that bird. That conversation would never. Oh, see, I laughed so hard. Windows down. Windows down, blasting cigs. Look at my head out the window. That would never happen. And she was crying. I've never farted in front of Rebecca. That's the weirdest thing I've ever heard. That's so weird. Jamie gets a Dutch oven every time. No way. No way. I'll go. Would you like to come inside my Dutch oven? That's disgusting. Can we turn this conversation somewhere else? Hot pocket. Hot pocket. Don't do that. I don't do that. Do it. No. Let me ask you this. How do you control it? Have you grabbed a boob lately? No. A little butt? No. A slap? A slap on the butt? I do that slap. A nudge? That didn't sound convincing. Are you going for the Tums? He needs to refill. I've eaten pineapple. Oh, really? Is that why? Dude, you carry Tums in your backpack. It ain't pineapple. Citrus. It kills me. It's called anything you consume. You're like, oh, I had some bubble gum. That's bad. It's really hurting. He eats those Tums like they're candies. Like they're water. Yeah, it's a little disturbing. Maybe you see like a doctor, you know? Don't go to the doctor. Yeah, clearly.
It's in my family. We don't go to the doctor. He's got to eat those Tums four or five times a day. At least. We don't go to the doctor in my house. Why? The men don't. Why not? Because we're men. She put dirt on it? Yeah, put a little dirt on it. Cuff it out. A little Copenhagen on it. Just plenty of chemicals. Every time you go to the doctor, they give you some prescription and it never cures it. It never works anything. It never does anything. It's garbage. I went last year and it was like, Jamie, you had a gun to my head and was like, you have to go. And then you get bills for weeks coming in the mail. It's a big pain. Kid's never sick. You guys, knowing is half the battle. G.I. Joe said that. So if you know you, maybe you have high blood pressure or something. I don't. How do you know that? Because the last one was the doctor. He's like, you have great blood pressure. Well, okay, that's just one ailment. But maybe you have something that you don't need to take a prescription for, but you could change your diet. I'm changing my diet. I've been telling him that for weeks. Frankie. What's the matter? I've been telling him that for weeks. The guy doesn't listen. He doesn't listen, does he? You know, Woods is known for, you don't tell the kid what to do. That's right. Kid doesn't like to be told what to do. Yeah, well, maybe if you listen to me every once in a while, man. You know. What? What? I just. Oh. Oh, Frank.
What is that? What's the matter, dude? Oh, his bottom lip is quivering. What's the matter? Are you out of breath? He's crying. Did he say boob? What's the matter? All I'm saying is I've been trying to get him to... I've been trying to get him to... He ain't acting like a best friend, man. I agree. Dude, Frankie is always asking you to hang out with him. He is banned. Thank you. I've got enough friends, dude. Seriously. Guys are like girls. You need to play more aloof. Maybe I'll come to you. Maybe you will. How can you just sit here and let him do that? Listen to him. He does so much for you. It's so creepy. He helped you get the couch into your place. I'm crying over here. He comes to your game. Can't you hear him? Don't you feel bad? No, the kid's got plenty of friends. What about Frankie? He just wants one best friend.
Frankie. Let me back in Brooklyn. You guys are besties. Let me take you back to Brooklyn. Yeah. Why do you want to hang out? Why do you want to hang out with me so much? Frankie, don't play it. It'll just break your heart. Don't laugh at him once. What? Why do you want to hang out so bad? What is so great about me, dude? He needs a friend. I don't do anything. Yeah, dude, I'm just saying, man. Maybe it would be great if we could hang out a little bit more. We'll go to lunch this week. We'll go to lunch, Frank. Frank. You bring a lunch, and I'll bring a lunch, and we'll have lunch up here at the station around other people. Last week, I said I would make some ham sandwiches with some baguette. Fun. And some brie. And you wouldn't even do it. Did that sound delicious? That sounds great. I was going to go to Father's Market and get some red grapes. Were you going to make some merlot? I was going to bake some cheese.
Frankie, breathe. We'll get a pizza. We'll eat it up here. We'll have a little picnic. How's that sound? I was going to make you an arugula salad. What did I just say? I said we'll get some pizza. We'll hang out up here. I was going to take you to the cheese paste. No. I don't want to go to cheese tasting. We'll get a pizza. We'll order. We'll have it up here. Does that sound good? Why don't you go to Frankie's house? No, we'll just do it up here where there's other people around. I like my skin. You come over to the complex. No, I like to wear my own skin. So do I. That's right. I don't want Frankie to wear my skin. Oh, that's what you're giving me. You know what I mean? Yeah, well, Frankie's just trying to be friends with you. Well, that's fine. I told him we'd have lunch next week. You never ever... Say that every week, bro. Yeah, you do. Never ever does it. I don't like to be... I don't like to have a solid plan. Thanks to you, I wasted $100 on a brand new set of rollerblades. I might as well take them back. We ain't never gonna go. No, I never told you I'd go rollerblading. I told you. I said I'd even buy a pencil. What, it's 1997, dude? I don't want a rollerblade.
Yeah, it's cool. You can come watch us surf. Are you too cool for it? Is that it? Yeah, Frankie, why don't you try surfing? Woods is all about surfing now. Yep. I'm afraid of the water, man. Well, too bad. That's why I love surfing so much. Imagine that. Only pair of swim trunks I have are jean shorts. Oh, dear. Those aren't swim trunks. That's not a bathing suit. Those are jean shorts. I'm really a bathing suit, though, Frankie. Man, he got upset. Yeah, Frankie, you get way too upset about it. I told him, man! He's so upset. I don't blame him. He's, like, snotting all over the place. He's snotting. You're kind of stringing him along. Yeah. You're leading him on. He's got plenty of friends. He's just so nice. He always wants to hang out. I know he does. I helped you move a couch. Yeah, he did. He did help you. That is true. He offers to massage you. Yeah, no thanks. Shave you. Wax you. Shave me. Wax me. I know. Watch you sleep. To give you a better throwing motion. Yeah. It won't. Aerodynamics. If it did, I would have done it years ago. Hey, did I tell you guys about the biological brothers that found each other after 30 years? These are my favorite stories, dude. This is so, so crazy. They're kind of sad and touching. I may tear up. All right. What if it's creepy?
It's not creepy. Won't be creepy? Like the brother and sister that found each other and fell in love. Weird. Creepy like that. Has that ever happened? No. No. Come on, you guys. Grow up. Sounds like an adult film that you might have seen. No. It's real life. Oh, wow. Okay, well, these are two brothers, Stephen Guzni, 29 years old, and Tommy Larkin, who's 30. How do they have different names? Just wait. They didn't know they were brothers. What happened was when the mother gave birth, she put them both up for adoption, but they're full brothers. Okay. Now, they went their entire life apart, these guys. Later, I mean, they knew they were adopted all along. Yeah. In the recent months, now they have like, you know, families, their own deal, own homes. In recent months, they were like, okay, I want to find my family. Like, this is time. I want to know who they are. You know, what if I have a brother or a sister? What if my mom's still out there? I want to meet her. And so they went to one of these adoption places that help you, you know, begin the process of finding a family member. And a woman came to his house and said, look, we did find your brother to one of the guys.
And she said, I'm going to tell you his name and you let me know if this sounds familiar. She told him the name and the guy was like, oh, no, that doesn't sound familiar. And she was kept saying, are you sure that doesn't sound familiar? Are you sure? And he's like, yeah, I'm positive. Like, what's the big deal? I'm positive. And she's like, well, he lives right across the street from him. No way. Yes. Directly across the street from him. How weird. Where is this? I know. I think it's in Newfoundland. Wow. I know. Weird story. That is great. Really, really crazy. So, yeah, now they know each other. So, they're two of the seven people that live in Newfoundland. Yeah. There's only seven people there, so it wasn't hard. My grandma's from Newfoundland. She is? Really? Yeah. I have no idea. One from Texas, one from Newfoundland. That's quite a gap. Did you know, Tiger Woods gave a press conference yesterday. Oh, yeah. Now, I don't know if anything was groundbreaking in it. Here is an apology that he made. I know that the players over the past few months have been bombarded by questions by all of you and the public as well. And I'd like to tell all the players, hopefully after today, players that can be left alone to focus on the Masters and focus on their game, not only for this week going forward as well.
And I certainly apologize to all of them for having to endure what they've had to endure the past few months. Did you watch any, Woodsy? Yeah, I did. I saw a little bit of it on SportsCenter last night. There's a lot of stuff. There's a ton of stuff. Dude, they didn't pull. Here's the deal, and this is what I read. They didn't really pull many punches, but then again, it's at Augusta. Now, if this was at the Buick Invitational or if this was at the Byron Nelson, the questions would have been a lot more pointed. But because it was at Augusta, there's a respect factor that goes along with being in that facility. Well, among other things, he does talk about why he didn't communicate very much after the incident. So we'll get to that. He also talked about that whole thing about him being entitled. Yep. He addressed that. He talked about drugs. Yeah, Ambien and Vicodin. Yep. We got all of it. It's next. Mikey Show on FM 94.9. Margaret the Matchmaker, may I help you? Hi, Margaret. This is Jessica. And if it does come, will I still be here? Wow. A long time. That slays me.
It doesn't have to. Oh, gosh. I think anybody can do more. Oh, yeah. Kermit the Frog can do more. Yeah, absolutely. I wonder if Donald Duck could do more. I don't know about that. That's possible. Thought about it, you're out. Thought about it, I'm out. Hey, this weekend's a Masters, right? Yes, sir. So that's why they're talking to Tiger. And Tiger talked about everything, man. He talked about Ambien. Vicodin? I'm bored. They're both asleep. You're bored of him talking about Vicodin? I'm bored with him talking. Yeah, me too. He's not interesting. He's the biggest athlete in the world. Well, then let him play. I don't want to hear him talk. You're not interested in the Vikes? This is like one of your kind of stories, though.
He, like, cheated on his wife, like, with porn stars. It's interesting when it first happened months ago. Now it's like, oh, my gosh. Yeah. Oh, my gosh. I can't hear anymore. Tiger's made every one of our shows. Ambien and Vicodin. I'm like, I want to. Are you surprised? Who cares? Cheated on his wife with 85 girls. Who cares? I'm interested. I'm still interested. Let's see what he says about it. I still am. It's been reported that you took the prescription drugs Ambien and Vicodin. Can you speak to when you started taking those, how you needed them for tournament golf if you did, and if you ever became addicted to either one of them or received treatment? I have taken them, yes. I've had some, as everyone knows. What? Who hasn't? Yeah, but it sounds like he had to take them on the reg. I don't think so. No, not for his condition? I don't think so. Pretty. interesting knee situations over the years. I've had, what, four operations now on my left knee. Yeah. And last year. Well, you got to take them if you got an operation. Yeah, you get an operation, you have to. You don't have to. Yes, you do. No, you don't. Really? Yeah. Just rub some beach salt on it. Yeah, not if you chew on beach wood. Not everybody that has surgery takes painkillers. Damn near. Are you kidding? Who? Who? Superman.
No. Yes, you do. I've never had surgery before. Well, there you go. No, I have. You see your arm. Break your arm. Get your wisdom teeth out. I've gotten my wisdom teeth taken out, and I took Percocets for one day, and I was crazy, so I stopped taking them. Percocets are really strong. Yeah, I was crazy. Really good. Really strong. Having murderous dreams. Really good. It got so creepy when you just said it. Dude, they are. If you're in pain, they make you feel good. Really? You're hanging out on a Friday night to make you feel good? No, never. I've been a pill guy. I've been to a lot. With my torn Achilles. It hurt quite a bit at times. And, yeah. I think it stinks that he's got to tell people. I know. That's what I mean. It's like, who cares? Yeah, I took it. I had a torn Achilles. I had four knee surgeries. Yeah, took some Vicodin. Sure did. Yes, and that one time I didn't help the old lady across the street. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry to that old lady. Dude, I took Vicodin at that game you came to watch me pitch.
Yeah, because my arm was killing me. And one time I put an aluminum can in a trash can instead of the recycling bin. Lauren snipes him from the gallery. How dare you? I took most of the time I was on the Ambien when my dad was sick and when my dad died. He should have added, so how do you feel now? Right. That's what he should have said when he was done. He should have said, so did that answer your question? Does that answer your question? My dad was dying and sick. It was hard for me to sleep. And I had surgery. And, you know, I can speak to that. I've had a lot of experience with that the last year. And, you know, sometimes it has to be done. Yeah. Tough time in my life. And, you know, so that's when, yeah, I was taking some of those things to help me sleep. And that's about it. He's under the biggest microscope in the world. Yeah. That's what I was saying yesterday. You know, what he did was really, really bad. Yep. But this whole, like, you know what? Let's get on the dog pile. Like, let's get a ladder and climb up to the very top of the people that are laying on top of Tiger. And then I'll jump on. Right. And it hadn't even stopped, dude. I mean, you and I talked this morning. This is his girl. And I found this out, too, Mike, yesterday. One of the girls that he.
Had the affair with. She, of course, held a press conference in Atlanta yesterday where she will be stripping for the weekend of the Masters. Wow. And what he did was bad on a very moral and personal marital level, but not on a worldly level that we all have to be tuned into this. Ted Bundy didn't get this much coverage. Right. Seriously. Well, and I think that there's consequence to the actions. There's no doubt about it. Absolutely. There's consequence to the actions. I'm not excusing it. I think that there's consequences, and I get it. I understand it. What I think is weird is the appetite for it. It's bad. It's Hollywood. I mean, it's Hollywood. It's sports, guys. That's the stuff that people want to know. Man, I have to hand it to him, though. Answering a question like that, how easy would it be? Did that answer your question? Are you kidding me? Pretend I'm Tiger Woods. Mr. Woods, did you... Take Ambien's and Vicodin's. Yeah, my parents were dying. I understand. I understand. Yeah, and I had surgery. I had four surgeries on my knee, dude. But it's been widely reported that your doctors may have been writing you some of these prescriptions when you didn't need them. No. Like I said, four surgeries on my knee and a torn Achilles. You ever hurt yourself writing your little articles? Yes, sir. Did you? Yes, sir. Did you get a little cramp? I have, yes. Did you take a little Advil?
Yes, sir. Did I come to your house and ask you how many Advil you take a day? Maybe don't worry about it. Next question. Yeah. That's it. That's the Woods press conference. I mean, that's ridiculous. It is. It's like he apologized more than he even needed to. He went to treatment. He's gone to treatment for a long time. Just let him play some golf this weekend. I'm so in on him now. Hey, what's up, guys? What's up? Oh, my goodness, dude. I'm literally in shock. I heard that clip yesterday. And they're like, are you a normal person? Yeah. They said that. Did you have any happiness? Maybe. No. Do you breathe air? They asked him if he's normal. Do you really breathe air on a regular basis? Are you sure? I really hope his answer was no, I'm an alien. Yeah. Well, they didn't actually ask him if he's a normal person. They were insinuating. He's saying that. Might as well have. Might as well have. Do you bleed? Yeah. I couldn't believe it. Is your blood red, plebeian? Artisan farmer. Coal miner. Coal miner. Barn wrangler. Grave dealer. Golfer. Campground tender. Asphalt lairer. Knife sharpener. I know, dude. I was so out on Tiger Woods. I'm so pulling for the guy now. I really am. It breaks my heart. I know. Why did it break my heart? I'm not pulling for him. I just think like...
Just let him do his job. I am pulling for him now. You're pulling for him now? I'm pulling for him now. The guy screwed up. I love the redemption story. I do, too. I'm a walking redemption story. So I'm in on the guy. I love the redemption story. Love the redemption story. I still want him to sack up a little bit and be like, no, I'm done with these interviews, dude. Leave me alone. But he has to. They have to do it at Augusta. He doesn't. Then bow out and golf for fun. This is crap. Well, that's not going to happen. He should. He has enough money. Well, you think he needs to keep doing this and keep apologizing over and over again? I'd be like, I'm done. You guys hear about the pillow fight that happened over the weekend? It was so great. You guys are in my house. So great. Wolfgang was there. So great. Where was the pillow fight? It was International Pillow Fight Day. That's right. Of course it was. Wolfgang, did you fight with Pepper at our house? But of course. Yeah. So great. He's spicy. Who won? I won. Oh, who's counting? Ivan. I beat him. And I jumped up and down. I said, Ivan, Ivan. He did. He said it like 17 times. Did you stick your hip out like that? I said, Ivan.
And I thought he was talking about his friend Ivan. That's why I was like, repeat yourself. I'm German. W is V and V is W. Yeah, we had this conversation. This is our conversation. Volkswagen. W is V is W. So weird. And then he said Farfake Nugent. And I was like, that doesn't make any sense. I went to Lauren's house. We had Pillow Fight. And Matt, Matt, he's very weird. Right. So weird. What makes him so weird? He's just weird. Okay. Why is he weird? Yeah, it's so weird. Playing the guitar. It's too manly for you. It's very, you know, it's just very weird. Sienna, who won the pillow fight? I told you, I won. No, it wasn't a year. No, it was a big day, an international pillow fighting day involving cities worldwide. There was over 150 communities involved in this. People dressed in their pajamas. They wore surgical masks. It's the first year I haven't competed. Surgical bats to keep feathers out of their mouth, and they wore eyeglasses, you know, without lenses. Can't compete. You're allergic. I'm allergic to the feathers in my mouth. You can't even do a pillow fight, can you? Every year, I'm like, I can't compete this year. Oh, my God. Talk about a redemption story. That was always my redemption story. This year, I'll make it back. Hundreds of people. All that training, too. Hundreds of people did it. Yeah. Running up the steps. Yeah, there was hundreds of people that showed up in L.A. at L.A.'s Pershing Square. They're all dressed in the pajamas.
Full pillow fights. This is me training. Yeah. How do you train for that? You've got to stick a lot of feathers in your mouth to try to get used to it, and you just... Yeah, if they had to go through all those measures, it takes all the fun away. Well, they have strategies. That's why they wear their eyeglasses without lenses, because no one's going to hit you as hard if you have glasses on. Oh. Here, wait. I'll tell you. This is a sad story of my redemption, pillow fighting. First year I ever competed. I was disqualified after the first round because I had a marble in my pillow. Dude, that's hardcore. That's hardcore. But you know what? What? When you compete at that level of pillow fighting, there are times when you have to reach down deep, buddy. You got to get down in your guts and you got to say to yourself, I don't give a crap if I make it out of here today or I don't. All I care about is that my wife, Rebecca,
sees me standing on that podium, holding up that golden pillow, looking at her and my little boys, and saying to them, your daddy is a pillow fighter! I'm a professional pillow fighter! He's got goosebumps. This summer, a story of pillows, feathers, allergies, and redemption. This summer, we'll fight. Daddy, pillow fight this one. That was fun with that dude. Amazing. I will for you. I'm going to do it for you. I just want you to know Rebecca. I did. I won the pillow championship. 2010 baby. I did this one. Literally got goosebumps.
Yeah, from the pillow fight. Not a dry eye in the house. Not a dry eye in the house. Right now, I am imagining your wife, Rebecca, sitting at home going, babe, stop. Please, yeah. Stop saying my name. She's like, please don't do that bit on her. I love it. Really? With the pillows, babe? Yeah, really? You haven't done that well enough? It's not enough that I've got to put up with little boots now. Now you're a pillow fighter. Ridiculous. I was in Stater Brothers yesterday trying to buy you, Sienna, those penguins. I want the penguins. There's an aisle at Stater Brothers where they have all English food. Oh, really? Yeah. Really? That's right. And I was going up and down the aisles looking for those little penguins. Oh, what a bugger. That's a bugger. They didn't have them. I went, bollocks. Got to leave. In case you don't know, these penguins are delicious. What are they? Well, okay. One of my friends. There they are. That's it. That's it. That just scared me. I opened up my lunchbox. No, a friend of mine went to London a few years ago and she came back and brought back all these little cookies called penguins. And she gave me one and I was like, this is the best thing I've ever had. They're like little chocolatey wafers. And I was like, oh, it's so good. And so I actually went to London like a year later. I went in like 30 different grocery stores to try to find the penguins. I was asking people on the street.
Have you ever heard of any penguins that are like a cookie? I'm not kidding you. Really? I was a tourist, and they were like, I swear on my entire family's life, I did. So they're not a big thing then, obviously. No, I mean, I guess they... If you went to all those different stores... No, they didn't... Yeah, I guess they're not, but... Yeah, I mean, if you went into an American store and you asked for an Oreo, you could find them in a 7-Eleven. Everyone that I asked knew what they were, though. Like, they were like, oh, they should have them there. And I was asking people that work there, they didn't. Finally, I found them. I bought, like, 20... boxes of these penguins. And you ate them all? Well, not at one time, but I did eventually. Yeah, and people were like, give me a penguin, you know? It was like crack. Everyone was like, give me a penguin. Can I have a penguin? Can I have a penguin? I was like, you guys, these only can last me so long. Is there other foods? Because you guys have been to other places. I don't go anywhere. Yeah. Is there other, is there foods that we can't get here that you wish you could? There was a beer that my brother and I had in New Zealand. And I think it was called VB, Victoria Bitters. Yeah. That one. And then there was another one called, I think, Red Lion. We literally, he was 17. I was 22. We would like throw my parents back in the room. We'd be downstairs pounding these beers. They were so good. So good. Never had it since. Never, ever had it since. Why do they do that to us? I know. If it's something that good, let the whole world get a taste. And it was funny over there because we, you know, my brother.
Moron. He goes, he's like, give me a, he's 17, by the way, he had a fake ID. He's like, give me a Foster's. I'm like, dude, don't order Foster's over here. That's like ordering PBR, you know, because Foster's is made there and Budweiser's an import. Right. I wonder if you go to one of those, you know, they have a lot of bars here in San Diego that have like 800 beers. Like the Yard House? Yeah. I bet they have it there. They probably have it. They do. They probably have it. There's a bunch of like beer garden places. Yeah. You don't have penguins. Yeah, I had Tim Tams. Oh, the Tim Tams. The Tim Tams I had in Australia, and it reminds me, like Sienna's story about the penguins reminds me of the same thing. I used to down, like when I was in Australia, I would down them like a sleeve at a time. What is this? It's a cookie. They have them here now. I know. I heard that they're here. I've yet to see the actual proof, but I've heard that they're here. Cookie. It's cookie, and if you bite off either end, then you use it like a straw. And you can drink, like, coffee, milk, other various delicious things. So it's like a straw-shaped cookie? No, it's like two wafers, and then they're wrapped in chocolate. Wow, that sounds good. I don't know. But then when you bite either end off, just a little piece of either end, there's enough room in between the cookies to get liquid through it. It's like a Twizzler. You can do that with a Twizzler. Yeah, but it's a lot thicker. M1 Vic, you there? Vic. Hey, how's it going? Good. Hey, I...
I got to say something about the food. I've never once found one place in America that can make Asian food like they do over there. You just can't find it anywhere. Like where? Like, for instance, Hong Kong, China. Best fish soup you'll ever find. Oh, my gosh. You almost made me vomit. You almost made me actually throw up right now thinking of fish soup. This stuff is so good. Come on, dude. Really? Absolutely. Mikey, you had a fish on a platter. With the eyes and eyelashes. No, no, no, no. The soup, though? It's like a ball of fish meat. In like this broth, and it's absolutely phenomenal. You're not selling me at all. No, what I meant was it's like fish eyes bobbing in broth. Gross. No, no. See, I thought what you were going to say was like chow mein. Do they have like lo mein and chow mein over there? Because I'm in. Yeah, I'd be in. No, they don't. Their noodles, their rice, it's all natural stuff. It's not the flavored stuff that you get here. We get like the fast food version here. Whatever it is, I'm in on it. Now I'm going to eat my soup with chopsticks out of a bowl. Oh, there's a picture. Go ahead. It'll even kill you, just the rice. The rice is so much different than it is here. No, I bet it's better. Thank you.
She tried to eat her screen just now. Yeah, Santa's trying to eat her screen because she found a picture of the penguins. Let me see. Mike, do you miss, like, do you miss, like, the enchiladas of your youth? Really? Yeah. Oh, look at that. It's a chocolate cookie. It doesn't say penguins. It says McVittles. McViteys or something makes it. McVittles. Oh, my gosh. It's actually penguin food. Does it say penguins on there? That's why they didn't have it in the store. No, it has a picture of a penguin on it. So you've called it penguins. They're called penguins. Sienna. Hold on. They are. I typed in, look at McVitie's penguin biscuit. Yeah, penguin biscuits. Well, cookie's a biscuit in England. Spell it, spell it, Mick. Okay, M-C-V-I-T-I-E-S. I went online, and this is how pathetic I am. I went online, and I can order them to be shipped. Get them. Yeah, but, like, I can't break myself. $4.29 U.S. dollars. Really? That's what it says. I would need to order. $100 worth. I need you to have a lot. Like, you know what I mean? Mom, I really want some penguins. Mom, can you get me a real life penguin? I'll send the Concord over. Can I tell you, my one friend that brought him back before I had ever known of the legend of the penguin, she brought it back and it was New Year's Eve. She just got to town and she said, here, take this, put it in your purse. You're going to want it at the end of the night. And I was like,
Okay, weirdo, whatever. It's a candy bar. End of the night, in a cab, I remember that I have this delicious English biscuit called a penguin. No, it was not. What was your friend's name? Amber. Mom, will you fly Amber this weekend to Manchester where she bought them? Will you fly her in a helicopter or something that goes overseas? I'm not kidding. I even emailed Amber when I had gone to London. It's like, where did you find these penguins? And she knew. She was like, I know how important this is. I went to a store. It was around this area. But you guys, when I first took that bite in the back of that cab. You're way overselling me. No, no. It's delicious. M1 Kyle, are you there? Yes. There's a British food store here? Yeah. Yes. Where? Carlsbad Village. You go down the main drag and it's off of one of the side streets. You'll know where it is because there's a big red British phone booth out front. You're not getting my hopes up, are you? No, when we go there, we go there specifically to buy the chocolate because it tastes better than American chocolate. And we'll walk out with like 30, 40 bucks just in chocolate. Do you think that they have the... McVitties. Do you think they have the elusive McVitties biscuit? They have all sorts of... Listen to me, Kyle. Listen closely. Kyle, I'm speaking to you. Do you believe that they've got the elusive McVittie biscuit? It is highly likely. Let's call him on the air.
It's got a place in Salon Beach, too. Let's call him. What's the name? What's the name? I don't know the name. We just know. Carlsbad. Carlsbad British Store. Let's Google. Thank you. Thank you, my friend. Somebody will know what it's called. I'm Googling right now. M1 will know. M1 Amy's on the line. Hi, Amy. Hi. What's the beer that Woods is talking about? The Victoria Bitter. So good. My husband's military and was overseas and loved it. We've tried everywhere. We've tried online. You can't get it anywhere here. Perfect. Weird. What a bummer. I tried out for a VB commercial when I was living in Australia. You did? Yeah, I had to wear a bikini. I was so uncomfortable. Woods, you tried out for a VB commercial. Is that a call? Yeah, I don't want people to know, so I'm going to hit that. Oh, sorry. All right, we'll be back. We'll call them next. The Mikey Show on FM 94.9. Hey, morning, Dave. Morning, Sal. I want to put the picture of the penguin cookie as my background on my computer. What's the latest on the penguin cookie? What's on the phone? He was dealing with the phones. He tried to call the store, but I guess they don't open until 11. Oh, that stinks. First of all, let me say that our listeners are so lovely. They are, man. They are so lovely. I had, I don't know, 18 calls. Really? And everyone's like, no, tell her to go here. The consensus was they have him in this place in Carlsbad.
Problem is they're not open until 11. Okay? So maybe Mikey swings by and picks you up some later. Todd works over there, too. Allegedly, they have them at the La Jolla Cheese Shop. Right in my hood. Lady said that she goes, the two places that you can find them are at the La Jolla Cheese Shop and in my kitchen. Was she British? Yeah. Yes, she knows that. Call back. Call back, British lady. I want to talk to the British lady. I love you too. I love... I don't know why I didn't put her... I was just answering questions. I should have put her on there. I bet she's lovely. She is lovely. She has them in her kitchen. Yeah. Can I come over maybe after the show? She's at the La Jolla cheese shop and in my kitchen. Dude, we have a guy that is a fix-it guy. If, you know... Jay. Anything happens at our house, needs a fix-it guy, we call this guy Matt. And he's British. He sounds just like 3PO. No way. Yeah, he's British, but it's sort of a... It's like a rollercoaster. Yeah. It's like, it's sort of the... Oh, hello, Mikey. Yeah, it's 3PO. May I change your light bulb, sir? Yes, like a 3PO. That's awesome. Oh, well, it's wonderful to be here. Yeah, like that kind of thing. Oh, it's the best. That's the best. I sit there and talk to him forever. Have you ever dated a British woman? No. Oh, yeah, I went on a date with a British woman. I went on a few dates with her. I dated a British woman, and I loved it.
This one wore CK1 perfume and passed gas, and now I can never smell CK1 perfume. No, she didn't. Yeah, she did. No, she didn't. She did it regularly or just once? Nope, one time. That's all it took. First date? No. Explain this to me. Did she do it accidental? Please tell the story. She'd been drinking. Oh. And I remember the dress. I remember exactly what the dress looked like even. You were such a weirdo. I can never, ever, ever, ever, ever smell CK1. Don't you hate that when a good smell gets mixed with a bad smell and you can never disassociate the two? So CK1 now is supposed to fart to you. Yeah. It does. I hate that. Stop wearing it. Stop wearing it. Look at Thorne in your side. Oh, it would be awful. It would be awful. Don't like it. That's why. 570-1949-949. Excuse me, I just farted, Michael. 949 Mikey at gmail.com. What did you do? I didn't say anything. You just sat there and went, huh? Well, it was a, what happened was I had left the room. And she thought, oh. Just dust the little crops. Yeah. I'll do a little crop dusting. So you didn't actually hear it? No, no. Thank the Lord. Well, so maybe she wasn't feeling good. Maybe she wasn't. Doesn't matter.
Maybe she wasn't. Maybe she was about to die. Mikey and I have parachuted out of apartments to go to 7-Eleven before to spare somebody. Well, Mikey doesn't even fart in front of his own wife. I know. So? Exactly. So you can imagine that when I went, uh-oh. Uh-oh. Oopsie daisy. Somebody change a baby in here? Oh, gross. Did you just make some Indian food? Really? Really? Is there a sulfur plant in here? There's a sulfur deposit under your bed, I think. I got eight lame things that we do to try to impress the ladies. By we, you mean dudes. Let's see here. Ready? That's right. Get my pen. Numero uno. This is not in any order. It's just listed. I bet Woodsy's not these, though. You think you will be. You think you will be. I don't think you will be. There's a few he'll be. You will? A hundred. You will? Yes. Okay. These are the lamest things you've ever done to impress a woman pretending to like a band. I'm thinking. Yes. Dude, I don't, you know, like what? What other reason were you at the Lilith Fair? Why were you at the Lilith Fair in 1996, Mike? I really like Sarah McLachlan. I don't think I...
Did. But, for example, maybe it's cool to like ACDC or the Rolling Stones or something, and you're going to kind of like play it off like, oh, yeah, I love them. Still do it. You do? Still do it. Wow. Yeah. Hillary. 100. He does it with Hillary. Yeah. Yeah, he's like, Hillary, have you heard the new- I'm like, Mumford and Sons? Oh, my God. Yeah. And meanwhile, here in the morning, I'm talking to Jesse, and I'm like, I don't get it. I don't get it. Jesse's like trying to explain it to me, and I'm like, I don't get it. I don't get it. Like, Jesse, give me tips. Four hours later, he's talking to Hillary. He's like, I love that Mumford. I know. It slays me. Can you believe he's from Scotland? It slays me right in my heart. It just gets me right in a place that I can't even describe to you, Hillary. Okay. The clash. Have you guys done this? Lied about past accomplishments. Yes. Check. Like what? Give me an example. I don't know. I made X amount of dollars last year or something. I don't know. Yeah. I've lied plenty. Maybe like. Man, I just had one that you do, and I don't know if it's a lie or not. Probably not. Oh, how you pitched, struck out so many people to some certain game or something, but maybe you embellished a little. Oh, 100. Baseball stuff. I did it once. What'd you do? What'd you say? I told this girl, because her boyfriend, her ex-boyfriend, there was something with her ex-boyfriend, and I was like, man, you know, when I was in high school, I just used to like to fight, man. Just to fight.
Why did you say that? Because I was trying to be cool. Mikey! Got in one fight in my life, a guy punched me up. You did? Yeah. And I tried to act like I was Mr. Tough Guy. Wow. No, it's humiliating. Now everyone knows. So that's a check. Okay. Did you ever, and I think Woods has done this. Probably. Try to throw an awesome party to prove your social importance. No. No. No? I could see Woods just being like, sorry to date someone. He didn't like the party. No, no. Woods doesn't like house parties. Back in the day. Back in the day. I did throw awesome parties. I thought you didn't like house parties. No, I did when I was 18. Okay. I don't like them now, but when I was in high school, I threw ragers. Not in college. I just lied. A rager. See? You threw one good one. Amazing. Legendary. Really? 200 people. But was there one girl that you were particularly hoping would show up? Amy Green. Then you did. Did she show up? And she showed up. She impressed? Yes. Did you get some? Yes.
Well, Woodsy was handsome. It didn't have anything to do with a party. Well, he had a party. I knew she was going to be there. Are you the gardener? With me. It wouldn't matter. Yeah, I was thinking Captain and Coke. Excuse me, sir. Find me someone that speaks English. I do speak English. Adidas, English, Pedro. This is my house. Amy, it's my house. Excuse me, little guy. Amy, no. I'm Mikey. I'm Mikey. It's my house. It's my house. It's my house. Your house-o? No. Can I get a drink-o? Is this sucasa? Do you like beer-o? Donde esta la zapateria? That's too advanced. You don't understand. I speak English, Amy. This is my house. Slow down. This next one I think Mikey has done. What? Two for three. What are your scores? I'm two for three. Mikey's one for three. Okay. Weird. I'm going to just go out on a limb and say that you've done it, Mike. What?
recreated a scene from a romantic movie. Oh, yeah. Zero? Oh, yeah. Absolutely not. You know Love Actually when the guy holds up the paper saying, you know, I love you, whatever? Tom, I hate that, by the way. I hate that. Woods, you're going to tell me you haven't held a boombox over your head with a trench coat in someone's yard. I thought about it. Of course you have. Thought about it. But you didn't do it? Girl, I'm being a fan. What about all those pictures you were drawing about? What's her face? Amanda Peterson? Yeah, you never recreated that scene? Not for a girl. I love this. Well, there's got to be one that you guys did. Never. I'm trying to think, because now I'm kind of thinking that I did. You know, listen, as I admit to my, like, metroism and all that, you know, like, I don't like girl movies. Have you ever seen the movie? The girliest movie that I've ever liked is Love Actually. But Say Anything's not a girl movie, but it's a love story, ultimately. Love Actually? No, Say Anything. Never seen it. It's brilliant. Why are you playing Peter Gabriel then? Because I know that he wears a trench coat and holds up a... You've never seen it, Mike? No, I have no interest. It's so good. None. Have you ever seen the movie The Stepmom? No. With Julia Roberts? Oh, God, yeah. With Ed Harris? I wept. The way Ed Harris proposes with like a little... What's it called? How have you seen that one?
It's so good. We went for Christmas one day, or one Christmas, and we thought it was like a funny, cute movie about like step-parents and how funny it is. Yeah, no, she dies of cancer, and I'm sitting there on Christmas Day going, Boo! Spoiler alert! It's Ed Harris, Susan Sarandon, and Julia Roberts. Spoiler alert! You mean for all the people rushing out to the movie theater to see it? Yeah, it came out over 10 years ago. Really? To all the people that are throwing that on their cue? I'm just going to watch that tonight. I know, right? People are getting it on the Lifetime On Demand channel. I love that movie. Susan Sarandon dies, so don't see it. Stop it. It's so sad. The way that Ed Harris proposes to Julia Roberts. Did I do anything? It's adorable. I was really cheesy. Mike, didn't you play REO Speedwagon and draw in somebody's hand? First of all. But that's Mikey's original. And first of all. Which is worse. First of all, that was an original idea. And second of all. It wasn't Aureo Speedwrap. What was it? Sticks? It was much more sophisticated than that. It was dirty. Did you plan to write I love you on her hand with your index finger before you got there? Did I plan it? It was totally premeditated. He called. Didn't you call? Are you kidding me? Did I plan it? Every part about it, I planned the music on the cassette. Didn't you call? Yeah, I called K-Don. K-Don. I called 102.5 K-Don. And asked for a request. Requested.
Next time I fall in love by Peter Cetera and Amy Grant. Taped it on a cassette. Cued it up. Did you dedicate on the air? No, I don't think so. No, no, no. I did. I did. I knew it. I did do that. I've done it. I did that. Sleepless in Seattle. Never seen it. Whoa. Yeah, right. I swear to you, I've never seen it. I'll tell you the truth. It's so good. You know what? I haven't seen, I've never seen Pretty Woman. I've never seen, you name a chick flick, I haven't seen it. Have you ever said, even just joking around, you had me at hello? I've never seen Jerry Maguire. Never seen Jerry Maguire. What a deal. Are you human? I'm telling you, there are certain movies, like girl movies, I'm just not at all interested. Jerry Maguire is not a girl movie. It's not. At all. I saw it like three times in the theater. Really? He's a sports agent. Jerry Cantrell from Alice in Chains is in it. Oh, well, then it must be a hard ball knock. Cuba Gooding Jr. It is. Cuba Gooding Jr. Please. Yep. You had me at hello. Kelly Preston's in it, first of all. She is?
No, she's not. Renee Zellweger. Kelly Preston is in it. That's his first girlfriend. Is this the movie where Renee Zellweger... Yes. Did I say it right? Mm-hmm. He's talking to her, and he goes... She's sucking on a lemon the whole time. Yeah, she's sucking on her face. She is so overrated. I don't understand. Speak for yourself. Renee Zellweger. I speak Renee Zellweger. I'd slip. Ew, she looks better at Bridget Jones. He goes... She was fat. She looked better. He goes, I just need to tell you that in this complicated world that we live in, it's hard. Stop. No, she goes, shut up. Shut up. Just shut up. This is her, Mike. Yeah. It's exactly that lemon face. Shut up. I think she says to herself, okay, just pretend like you're sucking on a lemon. Just pretend like you're sucking on a lemon. She's got a sour patch kid in her mouth the whole time. It's gorgeous. Her. Her and there's another, I think her name is Amy Adams. Oh, yeah. Is that the blonde that was in Up in the Air? You know the girl I'm talking about? And she was also in Chasing Amy. She was not in Up in the Air. That's Amy, that's Joey Lauren Adams. Joey Lauren Adams. Joey Lauren Adams. Are you kidding me? She was in Up in the Air. She talks like this. She talks like this. Yes. Hi, Maggie. Yeah, she sounds like Gollum. Wow. Hi, Maggie.
Hey, Joey, how are you? Did you ever see me in Cool, Dry Place? I did not. I didn't see her picture. It's Vince Vaughn. Is that one of your favorite movies? Yeah. What other movies have you been in? Jess and Amy. Yeah, that's right. Joey, Lauren. I think I know who was this talking about in No, Mikey, No. No, Mikey, No. Oh, here, look. I need to see. She looks like Renee Zellweger. She does. Oh, yeah. I mean, Mike, I wouldn't boot her out of the sack, pal, but she's... You're not going to let a hundred hamburgers stop you. Oh, my gosh. That's her. That's her. She's in Big Daddy. Yeah. Big Daddy. Yes, she is. Remember when mom did it? She has, like, darker hair in it, though. So you're not going to let a little rain? Oh, my gosh. When I used to work at Sammy's in La Jolla, she came in. Holy cow. So you're ordering from Sienna. Okay. Yeah, you did. You came into Sammy's, Joey, and you ordered a salad. Do you guys have, like, the arugula salad with bears in it? Weren't you from Big Daddy? You're not going to let a little rain stop you from making a hundred hamburgers, are you?
You and this kid just waltz into my life. She talks exactly like that. She does. That's fantastic. Did you wait on her? I'm trying to find a secret. No, someone else did. But I knew. I mean, she was sitting right in the corner table, I remember. Scuba Steve getting jealous. I'm losing it. I love sticks, too. That's her singing and chasing Amy. We need to hear her talk. See, that was like Renee Zellweger in Empire Records. They look alike. Yeah, exactly. She was in Empire Records. Zellweger was. Yeah, that was Zellweger, yeah. But she looks like Joey Lauren Adams in Chasing Amy. Oh, they're like twins. Yeah. All right, here we go. This is her in an interview. Interviewed by Conan O'Brien. I'm so impressed. Oh, my God. Not really. Can you just call me with a message? The way you said my name? Yeah, no problem. I love that. You like you. Sounds like Wolfgang. Hi. I'm so happy to be here.
You don't like Joey Lauren Adams, Woodsy? I mean, she's not in my top 50, but... She's pretty cute. She's pretty cute. I think she was just in that movie Up in the Air. She was? Who was that actress? That's somebody else. Hold on. The little chick from Juneau? Mike, you do your radio program and I'll find it for you. No. Do you want me to do more of the aliens? I don't want to. Mikey, you're not going to let a little rain stop you from making 100 hammers, are you? Oh, man. Mike, she's not in it, pal. I thought that was her. All right, here it is. Up in the air. The actress was... Someone you've never heard of. No, no, no, you have. It's a girl from Twilight. Anna Kendrick. Yeah. Amy Morton. Danny McBride. Zach Galifianakis. The chick from Juno, no? Ellen Page? No, she's not. No, no, no. The friend from Juno. Yeah, no, she's from Twilight, that girl. I wouldn't know. Yeah, this is her. It's somebody named Vera Farmiga. And I thought that was Joey Lauren Adams. Good call, mate. Great call. Look, look, this is her. I thought that was Joey Lauren Adams. Oh, that chick? Yeah.
She's really pretty. Oh, she's so hot, that girl. She's real pretty. She's an orphan. Yeah. So I want to keep knowing more about you guys and the eight lamest things you do to impress women. Never recreated the scene. Okay, number five, constantly dressing up. Yes. I can't constantly dress up. Are you kidding? So that's, yeah, that's not me. Yeah, you can. Why can't you? Because all the clothes don't fit. What? I don't have dressers. Listen. I'm an overdresser. You can do that. You have clothes that you can wear where they fit. I'm like Ina Garten from the Barefoot Contest. I have two shirts, okay? You know what I'm saying? No. Okay. You have no problems. No idea. I'll take you shopping. Just go with it, Woods. Do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth? Yeah, Ina Garson from the Barefoot Contest. What the hell is that? The Barefoot Contest. It's a great film. This next one, Woods, 100% has done. Great film. Woods. I guess Ann Mikey, but Woods. Have you ever played a song written just for her on the acoustic guitar? Yes. 100%. 100%. Story of my life. Oh, my gosh. Get out of here with that. Get out of here with that. Get out of here. What else? Getting into fights to prove manliness. Yeah, right. Not me. You have? On a date one time. Okay, Woods, what's your score? I'm five for seven.
Mikey's one for seven? Yeah. Mikey. So I'm the more lame. Yeah. Go figure. I don't get in fights. Okay. Now this is the last one. Going to an art gallery or a theater production or a lecture and pretending to understand everything. Mikey, yes. Did it, but it was with a girlfriend. First of all, I've never been to any of those things. You went to a picnic and you pretended to enjoy it? Yeah, yeah. I did do that, but that's not. Artsy. Yeah, that's true. That's not artsy. You know what I mean? I did it, but it was with a girlfriend. I went to see Rent in Chicago. She dragged me there. It was awful. But I listened to lectures. Hey, guys, you can't pay the rent. Perfect. Great. Had to watch that whole thing. It's awful. Do you like Andrew Lloyd Webber, Mike? No, I hate it, man. Oh, my wife took me to see Phantom. Oh! You don't like that kind of stuff? No. I see, like... See, I pictured you with little droplets of water. Tiny, tiny tears. Just the tiniest tears you could ever imagine. With a half mask? I am the fact. I'm a monster. Do you know why I don't like it? Because I don't recognize the music. You know why else I don't like it? It's beautiful music. Because you have to sit there and it's nine hours long. I'm out, dude. When I went to London, I went and saw Les Mis by myself.
Lame is. Lame is. Lame is. Woods can't smoke and dip. That's right. At the theater. If I don't know the song and I don't, you know, I'm like. Can you imagine me bringing a spitter in to see the Phantom? I can't. And the kids are sitting there watching. Well, Rent's all Billy Joel, isn't it? No. I thought it was. Phantom of the Opera is pretty amazing. Oh, no, is that moving out? It's moving out. Awful. Don't like any of that stuff. And I listen to lectures now. Rebecca, please. She couldn't get any further away from that stuff. Really? Oh, she hates it. I'll listen to lectures for four hours, and I've got some of the lectures on DVD. So I'll go, babe, please watch this with me. I'm telling you, you're really going to like this one. Oh, that's Matt's bit, too. And she doesn't. I'll look over, and she's like, we got new releases, so we'll tell you about that. You know, breastfeeding saves lives. I'll explain. Yeah. M1 Nick says that I saw the notebook. I saw the notebook? You saw the notebook. You, back when Eddie. Eddie watched it. Eddie watched it. Eddie watched it. We made Eddie watch it for a bet, but I didn't watch it. You never watched the notebook? No. I know what happens. I know at the end of it, they very fakey die at the end together. It was true love, dude. Really? That's happened in real life before, Mike. Has it? I had it in the news about a month ago. Really? True love. True love? Yeah.
Well, I thought I had you on one. Nope. Thanks for trying. I've seen, like, most of those movies, if they're on TV, I'll watch, like, five or ten minutes and I'm out. I'll tell you about all this. Simple. Boy, honestly. Jay's music, it sounds, all his music is great because it sounds like it could be in an Apple commercial. Is this from Garden State, Jay? Yes. That means he's hip. The song's called Such Great Heights. Who is it? Iron Wine. Iron and Vine. Vine. It was redone by the Postal Service, right? Sure. Yes. It does say yes. It's got that percolator and that boop, boop, boop. That's right. Uh-huh. Sienna, how does breastfeeding save lives? You know that. Well, the lives of nearly 900 babies would be saved each year, along with billions of dollars, if 90% of U.S. women fed their babies breast milk, only for the first six months after they've been born. Why? Because do you know how many mothers don't? Yeah. A lot. Yeah. How many? Well, they're saying... 14. 14. Yeah, 14. They say that...
With breastfeeding, you prevent, like, and Jay said this a lot of times, like when you breastfeed, your babies are a lot of times a lot more healthy because the breast milk has something in it that helps prevent problems like stomach viruses, ear infections, asthma, juvenile diabetes, sudden infant death syndrome, and childhood leukemia. Leukadia? Leukadia. Childhood leukemia. I was thinking about pizza. Yeah. Leukemia. It happens. And I hear that that's... The breast milk is the way to go. But a lot of women, they can't do it. Yeah. They don't like it. They don't like it. It's just too hard for them, I guess. Yeah. I'm very afraid of it. Do it if you can. Yeah. Kim was afraid of it. But, I mean, it's like... So a nurse comes in and kind of shows you how to do it, and Kim was sore at first, but then she got right into it. I was reading all about it last night, and I was like, no, this is weird. There's, like, pictures. Don't freak yourself out now. You've got plenty of time. They have what are called lactation consultants. That's what I did part-time. Yeah. I wanted to. That's what I'm doing part-time. I went. I got a folder since I found out I was having a baby. I got a folder, and it.
tells you all the classes that you should take. And one of them was like a three and a half hour breastfeeding class. And I'm like, Todd, you're coming with me. He's like, what do I have to go to that for? Torture. Torture. Yeah. And I'm like, drag that guy to that. No, he doesn't. If I have to go to it, why can't he? I did when we did the Lamaze. Yeah. It was great. It was the best time ever. Are you kidding me? Oh my gosh. I had a blast. I remember. I remember the J guy. At my class. Yeah, I was really into it. In a robe. There was 14 couples. There was one guy that was Jay that was really into it. Super excited. And he loved it. And we stared at him. We were just like. And he's, honey. Yeah. He's like, babe, come on, come on, come on. After our first baby, the nurse said, guy, you should do this for a living. I was like, wow, that'd be great. Jay would be a really. encouraging person to have in the room. You'd be a great nurse. You would. That's what we're saying. Just a great nurse. Hey, what's it like there in Perfectville? Yeah. What's it like there in Perfectville? I'll tell you what, though. My sister has a four-week-old right now, and her husband did the whole bit that Jay did and everything, and she's so tired all the time that half...
Half the time, she can't remember all the stuff that she learned, so it's good that her husband went through it. Yeah. And he says. And is able to be like, remember, you're supposed to do whatever. Pull your boob up. Yeah. No, there's no. Wonder how the cavemen did it. Why would you make Todd go to a boob? Because I don't trust myself. There's going to be little things that I'll forget, and he'll remember. But here's the deal. People have been breastfeeding, I don't know. I'm the one that has to do it all. No, but what I'm saying is 9,000 years people have been breastfeeding. Yeah, and what was the mortality rate then? Why are we living longer? Here's the deal. You put your mouth on the boob. It's not that easy. Don't be a class. It's not that easy. I wonder how they did it then, back in the old... How'd they figure it out 20 years ago? Babies died a lot. I'm a lactation consultant. Really? You think that'll happen these days? But also, it's really painful. It's not ridiculous. It's painful for the women, so it can show them different ways to do it, of the baby latching on that have a lot less pain. Somehow, back in the 1880s, before there was lactation consultants, babies made it. And people lived to like 40.
Because we didn't know. So if we don't latch. I got to tell you, Kim was so, so upset at first. She's like, I can't do it. And then the lady came in and told her some easy things to do. Yeah, you're a nurse. And then, yeah. I get that. And I agree that three hours seems like a long. So I don't need to go to that? No. Because I don't want to go to that, but I feel like I need to. Here's the cool thing about it. They teach you CPR, right, Jay? Yeah, I don't know about that class. Those are separate ones. Yeah, I think that may be a separate one. But for sure, I mean, they should be able to give you like the few pointers that made it all worthwhile. Now, I'm not saying you're not going to be sore for the first couple days. But after that, it's just like, you know, you're walking around still doing everything you were doing before and the baby's going to town. Man, I hear horror stories about women just being sore forever and that's why they can't do it for very long. I just remember three hours sitting Indian style, feet falling asleep, little chubby me sitting there. I'm like, really? Really? And then teaching us how to do it. One thing I remember that was cool was a CPR. Like a baby CPR. That's good. I did that when I was eight when my sister was born. I think that's a really good thing. And you saved your sister's life. I know. Yeah, you did.
Yeah, the CPR stuff is good to know. I mean, period. It's good to know. What's next, dude? Classes on how to go number two. I mean, come on. You don't need it. Figure some stuff out. Don't speak on it unless you know what you're talking about. You don't know what you're talking about? I know more than you do. How do you know? Her sister just had a baby. Big deal. My brother just had a baby. He did that. I say he didn't. No, my brother's wife just had a baby. I challenge that. I challenge whether or not your brother just had a baby. My friend just had one. Sure. Really? Did you pay attention to the problems that she was having? It's different with girls. Girls talk about every little detail, especially Lauren is her sister. She's going to say, oh, my nipples are really sore. Did she go to boob class? Yes, she did. She did? Yes, and she's had a consultant come by the house. Did her husband go with her? In the delivery room, there was one that came in. M1 Justin? Yeah, hey, I was going to say that. You know, I went to Lamaze with my wife, and I thought it was horrible. But I did go also to breastfeeding consultations. And I actually thought it really did give her a lot of encouragement because they're so tired. You know, they want to quit. And to be that encouragement to them and really help. And the reason why it's been kind of like a lost thing and people need consultations is it used to be that everybody did it. So your mother did it. Your grandmother did it.
They could help you. Nowadays, it's not like that. You know, it's so few people do it. So few people know how to do it. You know what, Justin? Well, here's the thing. I think that they, well, I know that when Rebecca had all three of our boys at Scripps La Jolla, they taught you. Yeah, the nurse, right? The nurse came in. They had a lady that came in. They taught you. And so what I don't understand is the whole class that you got to do for it. Because you're so overwhelmed and out of it after you deliver a baby. You can't take all that. You know how much you're about to go take a human and raise that human that just came out of your womb. Yeah. So it's good to know that stuff beforehand instead of when you're flooded with emotions and fatigue and pain and a million other things. Maybe I've just been shamed. Take the class. The M1 that just called and said that he went. Plebeian. He just convinced me to go. I mean, three and a half hours does seem ridiculous, but if it's my baby and it's going to make me a lot more comfortable, I'd much rather do it. Fine woods, don't go. Why don't you stay home and mill some more grains while watching the Yankees? What if you don't want to come with me? You could be my support buddy.
Tell you what. Will I get to see some boobs there? Probably. Then I'm in. Thought about it a minute. Won't you listen to some more hair metal while you're milling grain? All right? Pleiadian. Pleiadian moron. All right? Mill farmer. While you're laying asphalt next time, why don't you then think about it? I don't know, dude. I mean, I don't want to seem unsupportive, but... Too late. I just think it's just, oh, it's so over, everything is overkill. Too late, MMA watcher. Well, okay. Everything is overkill. Things are overkill, but we're listening to a study where it saves lives. I'm all for it, man. Hey, one of my best friends lost his child to SIDS. Yeah. Okay? It's terrible. True. Yeah. No, I do believe you. It's the worst thing ever. And, you know, hey, whatever you can do to help prevent stuff like that, I'm on board. I changed my mind. Thank you. Write it down. Thank you, Woods. It's never happened before and it's never going to happen again. Still a plebeian. I'm still a plebeian. You guys, I'm going to go to this class and I'm going to inform you of it. Maybe I'll go. Let's run through some... You're my on-air husband. You can come with me. Fair enough. Let's run through some new releases. Okie doke. What do we got? Let's start with albums out today. Shine Down. It's the iTunes session. Is this... I like Shine Down.
This is Phantom at the Opera. Musical voice. Phantom of the Opera. What is it? Phantom of the Opera. Phantom at the Opera. No. Phantom at the Opera. What is it? It's less miserables. Phantasm at less miserables. At my opera. I'm cringing right now. Oprah at the Fantastic Four. Oprah at the opera. Ina Beat Root and the Barefoot Contestant. What happened to the song? It was good. Barefoot Contestant. It's the only time he's ever stumped me. I have no idea what he's talking about. Do you know what it is? No, but I was like... Every person that watches Food Network got it. It's a Food Network show. I thought I was just really stupid. The nine of you that watch it. It sounded really smart. And I was like, yeah, totally. It sounded like I was doing Dennis Miller. It's like Ina Garten. Dennis Miller, you sit there and watch him like this. It's awesome. Also out today, John Butler Tripp, April Uprising. John Butler Trio. Oh, I put Tripp on my paper. It's all right.
I liked it the first time when it was called The Bare Naked Ladies. It's man. Sounded like him. It's an Australian band as well. Yeah. Maybe they should stay there. Wow, hater. John C. is out today. Their album is called Go. Sounds a little death cab-ish. Look at Mikey. They have an elf in their band. Really? This would be on Grey's Anatomy. Yeah. John C. Johnsy. J-O-N-S-S-I. I would think that would be Jonesy. No. Is it S-I? J-O-N-S-I. Jonesy, maybe? Jonesy or Johnsy. Johnsy. Tomato, tomato. Tomato, tomato. I have an accent these days. Co-miner, farmer. Also out, Slash. And there's a bunch of people on this with him. Fergie, Ozzy Osbourne, Kid Rock. This bothers me to no end. That's Fergie. That's Fergie. Slash? I'm out, dude. He just lost it.
You know Hoyle talks about street cred? Gone. Gone. Wrong paradigm. You're in the wrong paradigm. I like it. I think it's cool that he'll do weird stuff. It's not. It's weird. Weird with being eclectic. She's being eclectic. It's cheesy. It's cheesy. No, it's not. That's not why he's doing it. He's doing it to be eclectic and artsy. That's not eclectic, dude. He's doing it to be mainstream. No, no, no. Fergie and Kid Rock. You want to know why it's not? Because it's not going to be played on a pop station. They won't play that on a pop station. He wants to be a cowboy, baby. If they played it on a pop station, it would be, but he's doing it to be weird and trippy. No way. I agree with what it's awful. He's going, I'm going to show the world that I'll do whatever I want. Yeah, I'm going to go from Mr. Brownstone to Fergie. I have two words for you, dude. No. Two thumbs down. Yeah. Clown. That's three words. That was three words. I gave you two thumbs down there. I was like, he's going to say get, but then that's only one word. All right. I got two words for you. I got two words for you. Get right out of here right now. I got two words for you. Get and get. Don't even think about it. Get on your horse and get out of this town. Get, get. Get, get. Double get. I got three words for you. Get. Double get.
And real quick, out on DVD, Bad Lieutenant, Port of Call, New Orleans. Also on Blu-ray, The Thomas Crown Affair, The Natural Director's Cut is also out. And Lord of the Rings, people are excited about this, Lord of the Rings Motion Picture Trilogy. It's the extended version with nine discs. Settle in, nerds. I'm buying it today. Love it. Let's watch it together as a show. I love Lord of the Rings. Me too. Did I tell you about this piece of plane that fell off into a town? Fell off. Not into a town. No? No. Where? Well, don't tell me. Tell me about the plane thing, because I thought it fell off into a town. It didn't? No, it happened at Newark Airport. Apparently the plane was taken off. It was a JetBlue plane. And as it was coming off the tarmac, a piece of it fell off. Now, we don't know exactly. They didn't report what the piece was. But moments after the flight took off, it turned around and landed again. Scary. How scary is that? They say the worst time is... I don't want to freak out. Never mind. Just stop. Thank you. Because there's people that are faithful. What if they didn't turn around, though, and you knew that something fell off or you heard it or something? I'm sure it'd have to make a loud noise. Oh, yeah. Absolutely. What was that? Yeah, absolutely. And they probably don't want to get on and tell you right away. Yeah, they turned around and they re-landed and they were transferred to another plane and no one was injured. But man, that happened at 6 a.m. local time a couple days ago. I'll tell you that. My plane did that. The whole engine cover fell off when we landed. And you duct taped it back together before you got off. They had me get out there and fix it, which was weird. I mean, I was 13. Got this. Jay jumped out there. All he had was like... You guys need an Allen wrench? I got one. Yeah. He's like, or I can make my army man into one.
I can make my army men into an Allen wrench. Dude, can I tell a quick story about Jay? Yeah. Called him last night. I was on my way to Whole Foods to get some food, some fat. So I called Jay. You're not fat. Stop saying that. I just wanted to gab a little bit. Just wanted to gab. He did. A couple gals. You stopped with that with me, huh? What? You don't even do that bit with me anymore. I gabbed with you last night. We gabbed like three times last night. Don't get all sad because I gab with you plenty. I just got jealous and upset. He did. He really did. Hurt. Hurt. What was it? No. You know what it was? I called him to say, I called him to say, I didn't have that article. And I said, I don't know where it is. I think Mikey may have it or maybe Sienna has it. And then we got into talking. I go, what are you doing? He goes, he's fighting bees. I go, hold on. What? He goes, I'm just fighting bees in my house. There were 45 bees in my bathroom. He goes, my wife's in there with a vacuum cleaner. My daughter's in there. I go, dude. Call an exterminator. He's in there fighting bees on his own. Are you kidding, dude? You were doing it yourself? Yeah. You know, I told you the bees had taken over my attic. He's a bee charmer. And then, yeah, it was just like that. I've got a picture of me standing up with a vacuum and the bees are all swarming around me. With a vacuum? Do you have anything over your face? Vacuuming them up. Oh, you know, they're honeybees. Doesn't the noise make them mad? No. The bees?
Yeah. Why? You would think that loud noises would make them mad. I won the battle yesterday, and I taped up the little hole they were sneaking in my house. Will you win the war? Oh, it remains to be seen. I don't know what they've got in store for me today. Why don't you use, like, some raid and stuff? You know. Don't give me the environment, baby. No, no. I just don't want it in my house. Yeah. It might pollute our drinking water. If it kills bees, what does it do to you? Well, yeah. Plus, if I sprayed it in the house, then it might get even well. So do you lay around like roaches? I can see Lauren laying in bed, roaches just crawling on her like, I don't want to upset the environment. Yeah. This is their home. Just as much as it's my home. I would move. That's right. Exactly. It is really sad, though. When we first moved into our place over the summer, there was mice. I would move out. First I would burn the house to the ground and then I would move out. It's my grandma's house. Forget it. And we were doing construction and stuff so they got in with all the workers and everything.
And when you set a trap, oh, it was so sad I couldn't touch it when I found a dead mouse on a trap. I had to wait until Todd got home and I left the house. I couldn't either, but not because it was sad, because it would gross me out. It's sad. They become stiff and their tails stick straight out. Mice are sweet. No, they're not. The sticky traps are the ones that get me because they stick and then they're like, they're still going, hey, help me. Yeah, they're looking at you. Yeah, you know what's sweet? The bubonic plague, bro, okay? Those little mice. Their little grody feet and their tail that rubs up against doo-doo. Have you ever seen the Green Mile? Yeah, I do. How about Mr. Jingles? He was really sweet. Mr. Jingles carried the bubonic plague, okay? Mr. Jingles used to walk along the ground where there was bad stuff. I'm sorry, boss. What about Mickey? I couldn't help it. A little spool of thread. Forget it. That guy blowing out all those little twinkly things. The flies coming out of, it's like Jay's attic. Yeah, it's like Jay's attic. I got this. I got a vacuum cleaner. Real quick, real quick, Sienna, tell the story about the three-year-old that was driving. Yes, the three-year-old was driving. This happened in Wisconsin. The mother pulled into her house real quick and her little boy was sleeping in the back seat. She ran into the house really quick, like a second she was in there, but apparently a little too long because when she came back, the boy had taken the car and driven at least two blocks away from their house.
I wonder what that 911 call... What it sounded like. What's your emergency? Yes, hi. I just pulled over a car, and there is a little boy driving it. Now, as far as I can tell, there's been no damage. But, boy, how old are you? How old are you? Three. Three. Three years old. This boy's three years old, and he was driving a car. I flashed my brights, so he pulled over, and I'm just standing at the door with him. I don't know where his parents are. I don't know anything. He's just not... You know, he's obviously young. He's not really talking to me. Yeah. And you were able to... To get him to pull over, he pulled over or something? Yeah, I flashed my brights, and he pulled over. I was honking a couple times, and finally, yeah, he even put on his blinker. It was weird. Well, what's the problem? Was he weaving? I understand that he's three, but was he breaking any laws? You need to have a driver's license to drive a car, don't you? Oh, that's right. Can I talk to him? Is he there? Yeah, yeah, he's right here. Hold on. He wants to talk to you. You're in big trouble. Yeah, hello. Is this the three-year-old? Yep.
You were driving the car? Yeah. Okay, where are you going? My friend's house. Okay, and you're three? Yeah, I'm three. Are you wearing diapers and stuff like that? No, I don't wear diapers anymore. You don't wear diapers? No, I go potty by myself. Okay. Sorry about that. Can you tell me what you think you're doing? You realize you're not old enough to drive. Says you. No, I know that, but I'm an adult and you're a child, so you can't be driving. Maybe you worry about yourself. Don't worry about me. I'm fine. Okay. Are you? I drive silly, dude. I'm good. Where are your mommy and daddy? You don't worry about them either. They're at work. Okay. Are you going to do this again or do I need to send somebody out there? Maybe I will. Maybe I won't. Maybe don't worry about it. Okay. Yeah, that's definitely an answer then. I'm definitely going to have to send some cruisers out there to have a firm talking to with you. Great. Okay. Have you spit up? No, I didn't spit up. I don't spit up on myself. Do you have any gas? No, I don't have gas. All right. Have you made any potty within the last couple hours? Yeah, I've pottyed in the airport. Thank you. All right. Well, I'll send a cruiser out there, and we'll just see how we're doing. Yeah, we will see. Maybe I'll be here. Maybe I won't. Okay. Thank you, three-year-old. Thank you, Val. Three-year-old. Nice deal, guys. Thank you, three-year-old. Thank you, three-year-old.
Yeah, maybe I'll be here, maybe I won't. Great. Don't worry about me. Don't worry about my parents either. Hillary, what if you had a kid like that? Wouldn't that be terrible? Imagine if Steve Woods were your kid. Just ask my parents. Just ask my parents. Your poor mom. My mom's an angel. She's a sweetheart. She is. So is my wife. A patient woman. Were you listening earlier? Did you hear Woodsy's admission about music and how sometimes you pretend to like music so somebody will think you're cool? No. What happened to the bro code, Mike? Yeah. What's up, dude? I was just seeing that she was listening. That's all. Maybe she heard it. Like the John Butler trip? Yeah. The John Butler trip. That's right. Mumford and Sons was mine. I was like, yeah, I love them. And then in my back of my mind, I'm like, I don't get it. I don't get it. Why? He talked to Jesse. Because I work at 94.9. He talked to Jesse this morning, and Jesse was, like, explaining to him the music. And he was like, okay, okay. And then he says that, but when he's talking to Hillary, he tries to be cool. And he's like, oh, I love him. I love him. I love him. Absolutely. All guys do that. He's trying to be cool. Don't they? Trying to be cool. Don't all guys do that? I'm going to start to quiz you on it. I know. Yeah, you should. Like, she loves The Clash. I never got it. I've never gotten The Clash. I've never gotten it. Stop. La, la, la, la, la. I know. Seriously. La, la, la, la, la. That's me.
When you were listening to Clash, you know what I was listening to? Slaughter. Poison. Okay? I was all the way in on hair metal. This is such a confession. I know. But he knows a lot of the other stuff that she loves. I was listening to Up All Night, Sleep All Day by Slaughter. I think everybody gets the Clash. I don't get it. I respect them. I'll make you a compilation CD of the Clash. I'll listen to it and I will be like, I don't get it. What do you got today, though? I know Rock the Casbah. You know, actually, I did not grab The Clash today because I've been doing it every day. But I did grab the new record from the Soft Pack, some local music, Temper Trap, Oasis, New Pearl Jam. It'll be good. Nice. Lovely and talented Hillary is coming up next. Tomorrow, we got a big show for you. We're going to be talking, first of all, we'll be talking to... Noah again really soon. If you missed Noah earlier, kid came on, 12 years old, talked about baseball like he was a GM for a team. He may be coming out to the meet and greet too. Oh, yay. Don't forget our first meet and greet is Friday. It's going to be at the Stone Brew and we're going to be in the bistro area, the garden area of the bistro. Do you have to be 21, Mike? No. That's a great question. No, we're bringing the kids. You can bring anybody, right? Yeah.
All ages. Yeah, five to seven Friday nights. So after work, cruise by, meet us all. We have bumper stickers for you, which are rad. It's going to be cool. So come on out. We'll see you then. Nike show's out. Right. Financial media station. Nike in the morning. About the music all day and night. FM 94.9. About the music.
