Tuesday April 20, 2010
Mikey reminisces about his first radio job when he was 18. Jay’s outlaw past comes into light and the entire cast admits their stress levels are high. A gray whale rolled on into San Diego bay gets christened “Greg”. Conspiracy theories abound when Sienna tells about Apple’s new prototype IPhone being ‘forgotten’ in a bar. More bad news for Big Ben. They call him “King James” and Woods has audio of LeBron doing an interview from his porcelain throne! Baseball whiz kid M1 Noah Lot returns to the studio, this time followed by TV news crews. Those crazy Canucks, what’s so wrong about a dog mayor, eh? * dating mistakes smart women make gets the cast offering differing opinions. LOB has an interesting theory on the concept of soul mates. Mikey and The Kid air their little spat. Noah gets into what’s wrong and right about Woody’s MLB fantasy team. President Obama shows us how he deals with loud mouth protesters. Larry King creeps on yet another female celebrity. The gang tries their hand at Sienna’s stepdaughter’s third grade homework. Next is a hilarious bit about young Mikey macking out on other kid’s lunches at Field Day in the bus, annoying the bus driver. Topper does his thing, bragging about his band. Tanning beds are addictive and Frankie and MC Mel-dog go at it. Worst haircut stories remembers Mikey’s perm. Jay is a “huge fan” when Sienna takes off her sweater. Musician chick Eskimo Bluewaters debuts on the show during her county-wide Snow Hut tour and sings a familiar sounding song she claims was written by “Steve Moltz”! Jay provides a list of must have tools and camping supplies. Mikey tells his scary story of nearly being pulled out to deep sea while surfing. “Nerdatar” is already out on DVD. What celebrities do the cast members resemble?

Twelve-year-old Noah dazzled Mikey and Woods with detailed baseball trade ideas and fantasy-roster advice, then read Padres general manager Jed Hoyer's personal encouragement of his own front-office dream. Mikey and Woods clashed with Lauren O'Brien and Sienna over whether serious dating questions should come early, while the whole cast was humbled by Jenna's third-grade homework. The show turned Larry King's Pamela Anderson questions into a creepy supercut and exposed Eskimo Blue Waters' supposedly original song as a Jewel imitation. Lighter bits included naming a bay whale Greg, mocking Topper's Coachella persona, confessing disastrous old haircuts, and recounting how Jay had to secure an exhausted Mikey during a frightening surf session.
What happened, in order
Greg the Gray Whale
The crew learns that a gray whale has entered San Diego Bay, decides to call him Greg, and immediately worries that naming him has made them emotionally responsible for his fate.
The Lost iPhone Theory
After an Apple prototype is found in a bar, Mikey argues that the supposed accident may be a brilliant publicity stunt while the others weigh the evidence for a genuine leak.
Noah's GM Dream
Twelve-year-old Noah explains his goal of running a Major League Baseball team and reads Jed Hoyer's encouraging letter saying he hopes they work together someday.
Ask the Big Questions Early
Mikey and Woods argue that dating partners should discuss children and long-term compatibility early, while Lauren and Sienna say those questions can feel premature and scare people away.
Noah Fixes the Fantasy Team
Noah audits Woods's fantasy-baseball roster, identifies weak outfield and relief pitching, recommends dropping Chapman, and impresses everyone with strategy far beyond his age.
Larry King's Creepy Questions
The show edits Larry King's Pamela Anderson interview down to only his questions, turning repeated remarks about sexiness, underwear, and wardrobe malfunctions into an unintentionally creepy monologue.
Third-Grade Homework Humbling
Sienna quizzes the cast with her stepdaughter Jenna's third-grade homework, and the adults stumble over geology, biology, history, geography, and blood-type questions.
Topper Returns from Coachella
Topper barges in with sideways cap, pierced-nipple swagger, implausible celebrity connections, and promises of Coachella lodging and Lakers tickets that the crew knows he will never deliver.
Foreign Accent Syndrome
Sienna reports on an English migraine sufferer who woke with a Chinese accent, prompting the cast to act out a confused emergency call based on the rare neurological condition.
Haircut Hall of Shame
Lauren's childhood mullet opens a parade of regrettable styles that includes Woods's Boz cut, Mikey's Hall-and-Oates perm, Jay's rat tail, and callers' bowl cuts and shaved slogans.
Eskimo Blue Waters
Aspiring singer Eskimo Blue Waters performs an allegedly original song that plainly imitates Jewel, then plugs gigs at a snow-cone shop, Bates Nut Farm, and private parties.
Novice Surfers in Trouble
Jay recounts rescuing an exhausted, leashless Mikey beyond the breakers while Mikey and Woods relive rip currents, shark fears, a lifeguard warning, and their decision to switch to boogie boards.

The new home of the Mikey Show. This is FM 94.9. I'll never forget when I was 18 years old and I got my very first radio job. This was before I was even on the radio. All I was allowed to do was babysit the machines. There's a lot of things about it that I won't forget. One of them was that the morning guy at the time... Had a really funny name like Blinky. One of those guys. Yeah, but it was really strange because the station was a... They don't even exist anymore. It was called Beautiful Music. They don't even exist. What kind? It was elevator music. It was the music that you would hear in an elevator like... Beautiful. Just, yeah, that stuff.
And the station was called K-Joy. It was in Tucson. And they were automated the entire day and night. Wow. Meaning that it was these reel-to-reel tapes that played that kind of music. And in between the beautiful music songs, they just had little recordings that would come on and identify the station. You're listening to Bright and Easy Favorites on K-Joy. They had a morning guy that was live. And I'll never forget this guy. Because, and I remember a particular break in my head. It's still in my head. Where he said, good morning. Bright and easy favorites here on KJoy. The sun is just starting to peak over the Rincon Mountains this morning. And it's going to be an absolutely gorgeous day. And I remember thinking to myself, It is good, man. Watching the master work. Yeah, the master work and just the sun coming over the Rincon Mountains. That's brilliant. That is smooth. That is just absolutely brilliant. Sun just starting to peak over Mount Soledad this morning here in San Diego. It's going to be a gorgeous day here in San Diego County and in the Inland Valleys. Hope you enjoy. Here's another one from...
Rembrandt. I don't think it's going to be a gorgeous day, though. Isn't Rembrandt a painter? It's a painter. Oh, boy. That was a toothpaste. Excuse me for that. And a toothpaste. Here's another one from Mozart. Rembrandt. Rembrandt. Here's another one from Picasso. Very cultured. I'm very cultured. My name is Mikey, and I did not graduate from high school. Thank you. It's a true story. You did. You got a GED. You got a GED. That's... Same thing. Is it? Yeah, it means you graduated. Not really. Not really, Playa. You got a diploma. Well, not only that of the recruiter. I was a recruiter. So we used to have the dude with the GED that wanted to get a job in our company. And it was hard to do, man. I'm not. I'm just saying it was like. I could have got you in the interview, though. Yeah, you would have got me. You would have sold me. I'd have sold you in the interview. I have always said, and I will always say, that Mikey. He didn't miss his calling because he's obviously really good at what he does. But if this didn't work out for him, he could have been and should have been in sales. Which is so strange. I'm uncomfortable with people. Yeah, but not with, like he was talking about a meeting he had last week. And he was basically selling some of our VPs on some ideas. I can sell you on an, I can't, I think I can sell you on an idea. I had to sell you on an idea. I had to sell you. The guy can sell.
Specifically L.O.B. I had to sell her. Yeah, because she's not very cautious about things. When I wanted her to join the show, she was like a bunny rabbit. Yeah. That was coming out of the bushes very slow and then ran back into the bushes. Every 30 seconds. And I had to go, come here, come here, come here. A little piece of carrot. Yeah, a piece of carrot. And I was like, come here, come here, come here. It's okay. And she would come out a little bit like hop, hop, and then right back into the bushes. True. And I would say to my wife, my wife would go, she run back in the bushes. I don't know what, I don't know, I don't know what to do. I'm telling you, man, because radio, like with radio, radio's an idea. You're selling an idea. And if you went and you, because you could never pick up the phone and cold call. It's just, you couldn't do it. But if you had a caller, somebody setting up your meetings, bro, you would have killed it. Relationship sales. That's you, Mike. The cold call guy, that's not you. I don't think I could do that. That's me. I couldn't do it.
Quick introductions and big day. We got the news coming in here today. Oh, boy. The news. I put a little bit of makeup on. It's a big deal. Yeah. I woke up an extra 10 minutes early. I forgot, but luckily I had some makeup in my bag and made it real right. Yeah. You ladies look beautiful. I'm surprised that Woodsy didn't do the contact lenses because he usually does. You know I didn't? Why? My boy. Twins. Yeah, he wears the... Oh, that's right. Well, the reason that we're having news crews... The reason that we have news crews coming in. You are so thoughtful, dude. That's nice. I want to give you a hug right now, actually. That's why I did it. I wanted to. He's got a heart. I had him out. Well, Noah, the little boy that's coming in, he wears glasses just like mine. He could be my son. He looks like he could be my 11-year-old son or 12-year-old son. So I was like, no, we're going to go Clark Kent on everybody today. That's great. Well, Noah is just brilliant. He's just brilliant, man. He's 12 years old, and he wants to be. General manager of a major league baseball team. And he's so smart. And he's just incredibly gifted when it comes to knowing everything about baseball. And Fox Television and possibly NBC 739, because they're interested in the story as well, are going to be coming down to the studios to talk about it and learn more about Noah, who is just exceptional. He is a great kid.
This story has gotten all the way to the Padres' front office. Really? Jed Hoyer, who is the GM of the Padres, wrote him a personal note, and I have the note. Are you kidding me? I'm not kidding. Let's hear it. I've got the note. You want to do it later? Yeah, we'll do it later. You'll hear it, pal, for sure. 6.30 or so he comes on, right? Isn't that awesome? Oh, dude, it's so great. I just love the story. So I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show. I'm 39 years old. Very tired. I'm really looking forward to our break that we have coming up soon where I just need to recharge the batteries and get, you know, back in the game, as they say. You've been under a lot of stress. I mean, not to mention like the small break you had off the air was the furthest thing from a break for you. That wasn't really a vacation. Oh, the six weeks between my old station and here. where I had to put together a new show. It was the hardest I'd worked in. No pressure. Ten years, man. Yeah. But, oh, my goodness, am I glad. The kid didn't really make it easy for you either. Oh, it wasn't that bad. Apparently, neither did Pep. Yeah, the kid and Pep were really a thorn in his side. It was, it went. It was, all of us were difficult. It really was, man. It was like, Jay, your background check took forever. Mine did.
Bar fight in Texas. Yeah, all kinds of stuff. Jay stabbed a guy. That's right. Just to watch him die. That's right. Well, you know Jay's an outlaw. His mic is off. I got him up and on. There he is. I got to learn how to run this equipment. So I'm the host of the show. Woodsy is my sports guy, 34 years old. Lauren O'Brien, otherwise known as Pepper O'Brien, is 29 years of age. Sienna is 25 years old and a soon-to-be mom and a newlywed. That's right. That's a lot going on. That's a lot going on. And Jacef is our producer. He is 46 years old and you are an M1. You can call us at 570-1949. Or you can text us, 949mikey at gmail.com. I didn't like that transition I just did. I didn't like it. It felt very radio to me. It's okay. We work on the radio. I know, but that sounded so DJ-ish to me. I hate when I sound like DJ. I don't ever want to sound like a DJ. And that's Jay. He's our producer. He's 46 years old. And you are an M1. Really, Mike?
Is that right? Is that what they are? Bro, it's okay. You're stressed, but you're in the game. We're here. We're going to party today. We're going to have a great time. Yesterday, I sent Mikey a text, and he goes, hey, man, I know. I'm sorry. I've had a lot going on. I'm just really stressed. I said, hey, dude, we all have a lot going on right now. I said, I've got this big move coming up. I said, Sienna can't get her donuts. I said, we are stressed right now, dude. I think what I said to you, Woodsy, is, do you hate my guts? No. Why? It was classic. I guess I can't get her donuts. We have a lot of stuff going on. There's no donut shops in La Hoya. Can't believe it. It's the saddest little thing. We're stressed, man. It's like, really? I just want a donut. That made me laugh so hard. If there were, I would be 400 pounds. It's the best thing that's ever happened to me. The fact that there's no donut place in La Hoya? Yes, because it's like a special treat when I get them. Thank goodness, right? I love it. I'm drinking a lot of water to lose weight. It's fun, isn't it? It's great. I really hate drinking water. Did you do what I told you to get the little crystal light packets, sugar-free? I'm going to. It's on the agenda of things to do. Yeah, they have really good flavors. I'm going to get some for Woodsy. Pour him in his little water bottle. His baba. That's right, and your baba, dude. 570-1949. Call us up. Say hello.
And you can talk to us about anything you want. I can see that Noah just came in with his mom. Yeah. See them through the glass. That's really cool. I can't wait to talk about the first story. Yeah, gray whale. Have you heard about this? I have not. Do you guys remember Diego? Diego the whale? Yes. Did Diego go back out to sea? Yes, he finally did. He was here about a year ago. Bay area? No, the gray whale that went in the bay. Oh, here. Yeah. They nicknamed him Diego. And he was caught in the bay for a while. He swam in the bay for like... For like weeks. Yeah. And then he just disappeared. And people would go and check out the whale. This is a gray whale woods. This is a big deal. Just like flopping around in the bay. So we have another one that is in the San Diego Bay right now. He was spotted yesterday morning around 7 a.m. And he's just chilling. Really? Never surfing again. No, this is the bay. The whale's not going to hurt you. It's a great whale. You know, they don't scare me. They used to freak Eddie out so bad. What if you're out there? Dude, here's the thing. The only thing that I think that they're beautiful, graceful, they look like very peaceful creatures, it's the sound. Some people sleep to that sound. And that's what I've never understood. Sounds like a horror movie. Sounds like a trailer to a horror movie.
I can't believe people sleep to that. I know. That's weird. Yeah, some people find the sounds of whales really comforting. Very soothing. I'm like, no, it isn't. If you're a serial killer. Yeah, sure. That's what you sleep to. We're listening to Dahmer's iPod. Exactly. Creepy. So last year when the first whale got into the bay, all the news teams and stuff were like, okay, we need to name the whale. And so there was like polls online and people named him Diego. Yeah. So you know that there's... We should come up with a name this time. I wonder if it's the same whale or if it's a different whale. I think it's a different whale. Yeah? There's rumors that there's two whales, but that hasn't been confirmed. We've only spotted one. Let's name the whale. Sandy? How about David Gray? San Diego? San Diego. Yeah. Sandy and Ego. San Diego. Ego. San Diego. No, so we had a Diego, and now this one can be Sandy. Yeah. Or San. Yeah, I like it. Sandy? Mm-hmm. Is it that easy? Well, I'd rather give it like a, you know, like a name that isn't used. anymore. Like, you know, that name that you don't hear a lot of kids being named anymore. Like Thaddeus. How about we just call him Tom? Tom? Tom. Tom. Or like a regular human name. Yeah. It's Greg. Greg. Greg the whale. Greg the whale. Greg the gray whale. I always love when people name their dogs. Oh, me too. I love it. I think it's so cool. Yeah, that's Craig.
It's Craig, our dog. I took my dog, Zipper, to the dog park recently, and there was a dog there named Sienna. Someone's like, Sienna, Sienna. I was like, stop. Doesn't it kill you, though, when somebody's like, Brad, Brad, get down. I think that is really hilarious. My grandfather's sister had Mike and Chris. Yes, they're dogs. It's hilarious. The dog across the street is named Jasper. So the guy's like, Jasper! Jasper! And that's your son's name. Leave my son alone. My buddy had a dog named Bill, and it was the ugliest dog ever. It's so funny. Like, you look at the dog, you're like, yep, you're Bill. You are Bill. So are we in on Greg the whale? Yeah. Because I'm sure Greg will be hanging out for a while, and we'll have more stories about Greg. Yeah, that's what we're calling him. Greg. I don't care what the UT calls him. He's Greg. Greg. So if you want to check out Greg, he is right now, he's been spotted between Shelter Island and Harbor Island. Let me tell you something. This just occurred to me. Just snapped into my head. I just thought, nothing better happen to that whale. Because if we have to go on the radio and say something happened to Greg, now we've humanized him. We've completely made an emotional connection with Greg. Oh my goodness, Greg. You better eat properly.
Swim. All the businesses are stoked over there because I guess last year when Diego was flopping around, they got so much business because tourists were everywhere trying to check out this whale. They got a picture? God, that is so cool. Yeah, there's two pictures I'll show it to you. Is that like down by the airport? Yeah. Okay. Kind of. I go to the airport a lot. Shouldn't they put a... It's like Point Loma-y. Shouldn't they put something up that doesn't let the whales get in there because I feel sorry for them. I think it's not good for them. What can you put up? A net? Big net. I don't think you can protect the ocean. Can I do that? Can I put a big net? Can I put barbed wire in there? Just put a sign. A sign. No solicitation. No loitering. No loitering whales. Around this time, I'm sure you probably already know, 20,000 gray whales pass through San Diego, so that's why they're going down to like Baja. I love San Diego. I do. I think that's, like, I've never lived somewhere where I'm going to be like, oh, cool, there's a whale here. You know? Not in Texas. In Texas, it's like, boy, there's some. Coyotes that got loose or an armadillo or something. But, like, there's a freaking whale here. That's great. See, I love it. There's seals on the beach. I know. I think it's sad that he's caught. See, I think it can be. When the last time it happened, they said that they thought it was bad. Yeah. Because they thought something would happen. They need to migrate. Maybe Greg's good to go. Greg. He knows what he's doing. He's catching a connecting flight. Yeah, he is.
Yeah. All boats have been warned they have to stay at least like 100 feet away from them, 100 yards from the whale at all times. As long as he doesn't get drunk and start acting like a fool. Head down to PB. Acting like a tourist. Start being a tourist. Don't go to PB and start doing your thing. Stay out of PB. Don't drain our tax dollars. That was like the first thing Mikey told me when I moved here. What? He's like, Woods, welcome to San Diego. Stay out of PB. I was like, okay. I've never been. Probably the best advice. I've never been. I've been one time during the day. I say you don't need it. It's just going to be trouble. You and PB just be trouble. Apocalypse. Sure. Toyota has recalled Lexus, a particular Lexus, right? Yep. Which one? Yesterday, they ordered the recall of nearly 10,000 Lexus SUVs because of the possibility of rollovers. Oh, my gosh. And also yesterday, they agreed, Toyota agreed to pay the...
Record amount, $16.4 million, the fine by the federal government for their slow response on the sticky gas pedals. Because they found out, you remember all the Priuses and stuff like that that had the sticky gas pedals and there was all those recalls. Well, they found out in September but didn't say anything and they didn't notify the government until late January, which is a no-no. It kills me because I grew up in a family that was all... Toyota. My dad has always owned Toyota. My parents still do own Toyota. I would buy a Toyota right now. You get a good deal on it right now. You do get a great deal on it, but they are quality, quality vehicles, and it kills me. They are. Were they? Isn't it funny how there's all of a sudden this attack on Toyota when the American car companies were doing so poorly? Yeah. Is it an attack or is it... I don't know. There are problems. Absolutely. Are there? It is much more widely reported because it's not coming from the United States. I can't see too well. Is that Michael Moore in there? Yeah, no kidding, man. Where's your film crew, Al? They're here. They'll be here in a minute. The specific model, just so you know, is the 2010 Lexus GX460. Those are rad. Yeah, they went on sale in late December. So many letters. There's some problems.
M1 Stevo. Hey, what's up, guys? What's up? I just actually want to call and say good morning and let Sienna know that I'm enjoying a tasty yum yum donut. Oh, wow. You know, bragger. You're going to have a good day now. Just a donut full of goodness. Yesterday, we had our meeting, and during our meeting, we had sandwiches delivered. They were delicious. And they deliver the sandwiches in a little container with a clear top. And when Sienna left, she had taken a bunch of little donut holes and placed them in there. And it was the cutest thing I've ever seen in my life. Because they're rainbow-sprinkled donut holes. And Mikey stood up, he's like, oh, that is so cute. It was pretty cute. They were going home with our little... Like a five-year-old. Yeah. M1 Greg, you there? Is it the whale? Yeah, this is, yeah, is this Greg the Whale or is this actually Greg, you know, Greg, Greg? Yeah, this is Greg. And, hey, Mikey, great show. You know, for many years I've been, I drive 100 miles a day back and forth to work. And a lot of these shows have always, you know, been just really crude, rude and obsessive. I really appreciate your show. But, yeah, my name is Greg. In 43 years I've never had anything like a whale.
Named after me. There you go. Congratulations. Congrats. Yay. Greg. It's a big day. You know, speaking of those dogs and, you know, human names, we had two dogs growing up. One of them was Rod the Dog. Rod. And the other one was B-O-G. What was it? D-O-G. B-O-G. What is B-O-G? D-O-G. I know, but. D-O-G. D-O-G. Dog. Oh. Amazing. That's great. Yeah, we named it D-O-G. I love it. Yeah. Anyway, great show. I really like all you guys and keep up the great work. Thank you. Thank you, Greg. Thank you, Greg. We appreciate it, man. Makes my day. This is a crazy story. An Apple employee accidentally left a brand new prototype Apple phone, right? Yeah. Oh, boy. In a bar. In a bar. If there was somebody on this show that would do something like that, who would it be? Oh, my God. I mean. Of course. Okay, so this is a huge story right now, and there's a lot of he said, she said. This is reportedly, but apparently that's the source, is the Apple employee left this new prototype of the new iPhone, which is supposed to come out later in the summer, I guess. Okay. It is the iPhone OS 4.0, and he just left it at the bar in San Jose. Really? He just left it there. My goodness. I'm sure he wasn't disciplined for that. I know, right?
The person who found it was like a big blogger and knew all kinds of stuff. Oh, gosh. What, you have a question? Something just occurred to me. What? What if a brilliant group of people got together in a conference room and they said, if we leave this thing on a bar and somebody gets it, it's going to make the biggest news there is and the buzz for this thing when we release it. in three months will be bigger than any buzz that's ever been created for any of our products ever. It's a new form of marketing in the age that we live in. We have internet. We have people can get this information out. What if we just let it do itself that way? Wow. It doesn't seem very Apple-esque, though. I think Apple, that's a new form of marketing. It could be. Because if you think about it, how many iPhones have they come out with? I think like four. And there's not, you know, it's waning. Not the popularity because everybody still wants an iPhone. But the buzz about the new, you know, the new X4, G4, whatever. This is, that's brilliant, man. What if that's really what happened? How many times can you reinvent that coming out? Okay, we're coming out. Why does just some clown have it? And why does he take it with him when he leaves? And here's the thing that makes it legit. Because some people are like, oh, how do you know it's Apple? I mean, you don't know where it came from. It's Apple on it. And Apple happens to have reported a prototype.
type stolen. So he stole it? Oh. I don't know, but I have some details about this phone and how it's different. First of all, it has a ceramic backing when the one before is plastic, the one that you and I have, Mike. And it's a flat backing when the one that was out before has like a curvy. so that it fits your hand kind of thing. Also, the new phone is ceramic. I said that. It has an aluminum border with two volume buttons instead of just one. Unlike the current model, it has a front-facing camera. It also has a camera on the back, which is larger than the one on the back of the current 3GS model. Sounds rad. So it's a bigger, better camera, and it has a flash. And it's heavier, three grams heavier. The battery is 16% larger. The screen of the phone is slightly smaller. And the resolution is improved. I'm sold. I'm in. I want it. The way that she's describing it, by the way, is all very advertisement. Absolutely. I smell a rat. I want it. Sounds great. If he was going to go through the great lengths of stealing something like that, why would he be so careless as to leave it behind? He was drunk. Well, I think he didn't want to say that he left it.
So that's why they're reporting that it was stolen. I smell the rat, too. I don't know. I smell the rat. I don't know. It sounds a little suspicious. A little suspicious. M1 Line Cook's on the line. What's up? Hey, Mikey. Just wanted to say good morning to you guys. Tell you guys are doing a killer job. Thank you, bro. Awesome, dude. Yeah, I'm a line cook, so a couple days out of the week, I have to show up early in the morning, start prepping stuff out, and you guys just make it that much more enjoyable. I've done that, man. I've done the prep job. It's a hard job. That's a hard gig, man. I did that, yeah. We all, like seven of us in high school worked at the same restaurant. He took all my buddies, made them waiters, and he looked at me, he goes, you're in the kitchen with me, Woods. I was back there chopping onions and dicing tomatoes. It's crazy. Yeah, so a couple of weeks out of the, or a couple of mornings out of the week, I have to come in and do that. And then all the other nights, or all the other times I work nights. But yeah, coming in early, dude, you guys definitely make it a lot more enjoyable. Very cool, dude. Thank you, man. Thank you, man. We appreciate it. Thank you. Don't hurt yourself. Let's see. Jay's picking the music. Echoing the Bunnymen show up strength. So check this out, man. New news in the Ben Roethlisberger case. The investigating officer has resigned.
Well, sounds a little suspicious. That's right. Woodsy will tell you why. Woods on Sports and TV crews coming in. 12-year-old Noah, who wants to be a general manager of a Major League Baseball team, will be in. It's all coming up. 570-1949. Or text 949mikey at gmail.com. How did you morons even get in here? More coming up on FM 94.9. Wow, Cesar Gonzalez from Mama Testa Taqueria. Hey, Ryan from the Nervous Records. I wanted to stop in here after hearing Tim Piles talk about Mama Testa. Tell me about your chorizo. Oh, man, let me tell you about my chorizo. We make it fresh every day in the restaurant. We spice it up like only the way Mama knows. We don't use any of that greasy stuff you get at other places. Yeah, it's not greasy. Not greasy at all. My buddy Mark tried them.
you think, Mark? I tried the El Pastor tacos. What's up with the pineapple? Let me tell you about the El Pastor tacos, man. We marinate it for 24 hours and then we grill it with grilled pineapple. Delicious, sweet, sour, spicy, all at the same time. Hey, Brian from the Nervous Records. What are you doing here hanging out with Mark and Caesar? Hey, Tim Piles. We're just eating some food. Really? Are you sure you're not cutting a commercial? No, man. We're just having a conversation. Really? Yeah. Are we supposed to be cutting a commercial? I'm a musician. I don't endorse things. Oh, this is awkward. Mamatesta Taqueria, Richmond and University in Hillcrest. Maybe I should write a jingle. It drips, it stinks, it's gooey, it's greasy, and every time you go to the beach, you are swimming in it. It's killing the fish and making us sick. Oil, brake dust, and fluids seep from our cars onto the roadways, and when it rains, these pollutants wash into our storm drains and are carried to our creeks. bays, ocean, and beaches. It's an unhealthy mess we've created. You see, the storm drains are not connected to a treatment system, so what we dump, spit, drip, and leave in the street doesn't get removed from the water before reaching the beach. But each of us can make a difference. Keeping your car tuned or using alternative transportation reduces the amount of pollutants left behind. By making small changes, each of us can make a big difference.
Remember, it's not that far from our roads to our beaches. Clean water. It's what we all want. I'm telling you, I don't know if you guys have seen pictures of the volcano erupting in Iceland, but they are some of the most amazing either still photographs or video. I mean, it's insane. What's up with the lightning that's right there, too? I know, man. I want to know about that. Maybe we have a volcanologist in our audience. Yeah, we have some stuff to talk about. An eruptialogist. Exactly. Exactly.
You know what I mean. It's a cover of the New York Times today is the most amazing photograph of that volcano erupting. It's really a trip. We are going to be talking to Noah here in just a second. We have Fox in the studio filming as we speak. First, I want to find some stuff out about Ben Roethlisberger, and then we'll be talking to 12-year-old Noah coming up here in a minute. Watch, watch, watch. You know, I was going to lead off with the Padres victory today, but I'm going to save that for my boy here because somebody's mom made him go to bed about five minutes too early. Are you serious? Noah is looking at his mom like, really, really, mom? So I'm going to save it because he doesn't really know what happened yet. We talked about it briefly. I'm going to fill him in on the whole thing. So great. But like we were talking about, the Ben Roethlisberger case is getting weirder and weirder.
If you guys have been living in a cave the last couple of months, he's been cleared of all charges for sexual assault against a woman in Milledgeville, Georgia. Now, this is where things get weird. Jerry Blash is, he works for the Milledgeville Police Department. And what he did, he was the investigator that interviewed Roethlisberger that filed the report. Okay. The weird thing is, though, pictures have surfaced of Big Ben and this guy hanging out that night before. The deal occurred before the alleged incident happened. And now this guy has resigned. So the photos were taken at that nightclub that night, hours before the alleged incident. And now this guy has resigned. Oh, no. Isn't that odd? Oh, no. I read it this morning. I had to read it three times to go, really? Is that what happened? Because that don't sound good. Doesn't sound good. How would he even be in cahoots with that person in the first place? Does he know him? He has a house there. He has a house there. He's really dialed in in that area. So it was a very weird story. This thing isn't over by a long shot. Everyone's expecting punishment to come down from... Stealers, right? Yeah, from Roger Goodell. Here is Commissioner Goodell talking about Big Ben. Cut one. Back to a pattern of behavior. You do not have to be convicted or even charged with a crime to be able to demonstrate that you violated a personal conduct policy.
reflect poorly not only on themselves, but their entire teammates, all of their teammates, every NFL player in the league, and everyone associated with the NFL. And that is what my concern is, and I have expressed that directly to Ben, obviously, and I'll be making a decision as soon as I possibly can. Well, you see how the Steelers handled troublemakers, too. They booted the last one. They don't like it. They ain't booting their quarterback, though. They might. They won't. They're a defensive team. LeBron went off for 40 last night. The Cavs took game two from the Bulls. They lead two games to none. Here is LeBron talking about how all of his hard work in the offseason is paying off cut two. I'm putting in a lot of hard work as an individual, too. Not only better my game, but if I become better as an individual, our team is automatically going to become better. So, you know, a lot of hard work, a lot of hours in the gym with myself and Chris Gent and Mike Mancias over the summer. No matter where we were in the world, we got an opportunity to get to the gym every day. And it's good when you can see it happen throughout the summer and then translate what you do in the summer into a one-course situation.
That sound makes me nauseous. And the Utah Jazz even their series with the Denver Nuggets last night. They won 114 to 111. Also, Denny Hamlin won at the Texas Motor Speedway. I don't really get into NASCAR, but this was pretty cool. This guy really wanted this win yesterday. Where was it? It was in Texas. It was at Texas Motor Speedway. Really? What's so funny? Nothing. It's just that, well, you know, sometimes we hear about the Yankees and sometimes we hear about, you know, Red Sox losses. Sometimes we never hear about NASCAR, but... We have done stories on NASCAR. I didn't care less that it's at Texas. This is why I'm telling you stories. Texas Motor Speedway. It's at Texas Motor Speedway. He had a torn ACL in his knee, and he had surgery for it. And he said he's really doing it at about 60%. And he went out and he won the race, and they had a weather... Red Sox. Texas Motor Speedway. Yeah. He had just had surgery on his knee a couple weeks ago. He really wanted this win. Cut three, Clown. Well, we definitely don't give up. Oh, uh-oh. You know, it's like we always got to come from the back. And, you know, that's a lot of it's trouble. We always like to start in the back. It does sound like an airplane. It does sound like an airplane. Great job there at the end. I think the whole 11 team, everyone, is it a race track? Is it a race track? Is it a race track?
And the fans, I've never seen so many fans on a Monday night or a Monday race like this before. Thank you, Danny. It's just a great day for us. Wonderful. Thank you for the flyover. He's at the racetrack. He's at the racetrack. There's an awful story. I don't even want to talk about it, but we have to. We have to. Edwin Valero is a Venezuelan boxer. Hung himself yesterday in his jail cell where he was being held. That's that guy, right? He was 27-0 in his professional career. All 27 knockouts. I remember this story. Because didn't they arrest this guy in connection with killing his wife? Right. Apparently they were in a hotel in Venezuela. He killed her. Then he walked out. He told the security guard, hey, I just killed my wife. The cops grabbed him, put him in a cell. He used his sweatpants and he hung himself. So it's just a tragic story all around. There was a lot of stuff going on with him, too. He was just out of rehab. Rehab. He'd been in trouble several times with the law before. Tragedy. I mean, just an absolute tragedy. So it's kind of a bummer, but I figured it was something we probably needed to report. It is huge news. And he was a really talented dude, but obviously had a lot of demons. So finally, the L.A. Kings came out to play last night. The first NHL home game.
in L.A. in over eight years, and they beat the Canucks 5-3, and that is Woods on sports. Wait, how is it their first home game in eight years? Because they haven't made the playoffs in eight years. Oh, wow. They played two games, but they played them in Vancouver. Wow. Don't worry about it. Guess who's in the studio with us right now? We have Noah in the studio. M1 know a lot? M1 know a lot. Okay, so Woodsy, what were you telling me about the thing last night? So his mom made him go to bed five minutes before. Well, if Mikey was at my house last night, he would have made me go to bed too. Because it was at like, it was probably like 10 o'clock. And I had watched eight and two thirds of this game. I'm like, I'm going to finish this game, right? Because I got Noah coming in. I wanted to talk shop with him. Right. So Heath Bell comes on. It's two to one. The Padres are winning against the Giants. They had a great game. Matt Cain pitched for the Giants. He's one of the best. And Padres battled and battled. So they're up 2-1. It's the ninth inning. And Bell comes in for the save. He's 3-2 on Juan Uribe.
And for some reason goes to his curveball instead of his heat that he'd blown him away with. Right. Hangs a curveball. Uribe yaks it over the fence. No. Tied two to two. And so this is right about when little Noah here is laying his head down to go to sleep. Right. So Bell gets the last out. They go to the 10th. Now, wait, Noah, do you know what happens from this point on or you do not? He told me. I told him. I told him. So what happened in the 10th is Eckstein comes up. He's not a power hit. How many homers has he had in the last year? Last year, he had two. Last year, he hit two homers all of last year. He comes up to the plate, hits a walk-off homer off the foul pole, or almost off the foul pole, and Padres win over the Giants 3-2. No way. Yeah, incredible. No way. Dude, that is awesome. And this little guy was, biggest Padres fan in the world, was dead asleep. Wow, you didn't get to see it, Noah. So, Mom made you go to bed, like, how long in actual time? What was it? Like, how long before? Well, let's see. It was two outs? Yeah, two outs. Well... No, it was a one out. It was a one out. Oh, well, then it was literally five pitches away. Oh, my gosh. Five pitches before that. You had to go to bed. The count was one and one on your rebate. You are kidding me. Yeah, five pitches away. Oh, yeah. And so then he goes to bed and they...
They tie the game. That is unbelievable. And then the Padres win it with a walk-off. It was really cool. So I watched that whole game and then went to sleep. Let's fill people in on who Noah is. Okay, first of all, Noah, how old are you? I'm 12. 12 years old. And your mom is an M1. And you are too, right? And so your mom sent us a video of you basically talking about baseball. Yeah. And what you know about baseball, which is, by the way, a lot. A lot. At 12 years old, which I'm not kidding you, when I look at the two of you, I go, you really do look like you're related. You really do look like you're related. The glasses. The glasses and the whole, it's the exact same glasses. They're, you know, both handsome kids. Wear my hat. Usually wear my hat every day. Yeah. And so you came in and you told us all this stuff about baseball. And from what I understand. You want to be a general manager of a Major League Baseball team, and it has gotten the attention of... The GM. All the way to the top. It's going to Jed Hoyer. That's so cool. The GM of the San Diego Padres. Did you get a letter, Noah? Yes, I did. Can you read us the letter? Yes, I did. Go ahead. Here's the response from Jed. I love the attitude, Noah. When I was in high school, we had an assignment in theology to...
in theology class to write about our career aspirations. I wrote that I wanted to run a major league baseball team. My teacher, Mr. Kessler, wrote in big letters at the top of the page, so do I. If I had any advice for you, it'd be to get out and play baseball as much as you can. At some point, for everyone except major league players, your talent level will push you into the office. Classic. That's so great. I have goosebumps. That is so great. It happened to me after college. I played as much as possible, and after that, I coached. Getting as much time on the field as possible is essential to understanding the game. Good luck, Noah. I hope we're working together someday. Isn't that cute? Wow. That is from Jed Hoyer of the San Diego Padres. The GM of the San Diego Padres. I hope we're working together someday. That is so cool. Great as that, man. Well, so, you know, Noah and I talk. quite a bit, and it's one of those things where this kid knows. I mean, I know about baseball. You guys know that. I mean, it's my love. It's my passion. It is. Your job. It's my job. I mean, and truly, it's one of those things that opening day for me, I always consider kind of like my birthday. It's the best day of the year. Yes, it is. It is. It's the best day of the year. Except for the trade deadline. Except for the trade deadline for the future GM. So we were talking, and I said, hey, man, Padres are looking good right now.
They're a game over 500. They're in, what, second place? Yeah. Look, in second place. I said, if things go south and we have to trade Gonzo, who do you want for him? I want, if we trade him to the White Sox, I'd want Gordon Beckham, Daniel Hudson, and Tyler Flowers. All three. Yeah, I've heard of one of those guys. Really? So he knows? I've heard of Gordon Beckham. That's it. Gordon Beckham is their... Second baseman who almost won the rookie of the year last year. He is, everyone in Chicago is in love with this guy. Yeah, he's a stud. And he's good enough that we could get him with Adrian Gonzalez. And so, okay, so let's say the White Sox don't want to deal with us. How about the Red Sox? Who would you want from the Red Sox for Adrian? Jacoby Ellsbury, their 70s steel center fielder. Yep, who else? Daniel Bard, their set-up man. How hard does he throw? 100. Yeah, throws 100. Oh, my goodness. And instantly he's like, boom, boom, boom. What about Buchholz? You like Buchholz? Yeah, Buchholz would be a good four-starter in a row. He'd probably be three or four here, right? Yeah. Okay. I'm telling you, it just came in my head right now. He's going to be a GM. There's no question. There's no question in my mind. He's going to be a GM for a Major League Baseball team, and one day we're going to be able to say, yeah, that guy.
that just took them to the World Series, and we'll see him standing out there with the guys. He'll, you know, have champagne all over him. He'll be wiping champagne off of his glasses. He'll be hugging guys, and he'll be saying stuff to them on TV that we won't know what he's saying because we'll only have to read their lips. And you're going to hear the announcers on television going, this is a special moment. You're seeing Noah, the general manager of the Boston Red Sox. No, no, no! Of the San Diego Padres. Of the San Diego Padres, right? No, Boston Red Sox. Of the San Diego Padres, right? Yeah. That would be amazing. How amazing would that be? It would be phenomenal. So, Noah, all right, so how many games are we into the season? We're 13 games in. 13 games in our record, seven and six, right? And if we sweep the Giants here, we're tied for first place. We're 87. Wow, perfect. They just fist bumped. Yeah, we did. We fist bumped. So then if they sweep the Giants, they're tied for first place. No, we're up, actually. Oh, up a game. Who is your MVP so far? Yeah, correction. It's a coin flip between our cleanup hitter and our three-hole hitter. Which is? And Chase Headley. So both of them are driving, knocking in some runs. It seems like every time I see Adrian at the plate, he is either driving in a run or getting a base hit. Or walking. Or walking.
Yeah, it's huge. One more thing that Noah wanted to do before we wrapped up was you wanted to give a shout-out. You play baseball, don't you? Jay. Yeah. I wanted to give a shout-out to my Hummel Little League team. Atta boy. The Dodgers. He's got a double hat going on. Nice. Your coach is Steve? Yeah, Coach Steve. Coach Steve. We have a game tonight. Good luck to the first place Dodgers. That's right. That's my boy. There you go. Good luck, kid. There you go. So you're going to be able to see Noah on the news tonight, right? They're going to have him on the news tonight on Fox and perhaps NBC 739. And so we're working it out right now. And we really appreciate you coming in, Noah. Can you hang out for a second? Can you hang out or do you guys have to go right now? Or what's the deal? We can hang out. You can hang out. Okay, cool. What do you think about all this excitement? It's pretty fun, isn't it? It's exciting. Yeah. Do I know? I have a few more tricks. Yeah, we'll probably... Hang on to them. Because I've never heard of half these guys. I can't even talk about them. You know what? Hang on to them, because we will. Hang on to them. My boy. I just think it's amazing. It's great. And I really do, man. I think that he's going to be... I think he's going to be a GM. I think so, too. Yeah. So you're 12 now?
Yeah, like 10, 12 years. Just work hard, play as much ball as you can, watch as much ball as you can. And, you know, it's such a cool job, probably the coolest job that anybody could have besides being a player. There you go. Or being a sports guy on the radio. So let's see. What else is going on right now? It looks like there is a town in Canada that is refusing to let... A dog run for mayor, which I think is terrible. That's just such awful news that now we've come to a day and age where a dog cannot run for mayor. That's sad. It's really is sad and it's discrimination. Yeah, the owner showed up to a town east of Toronto. Yeah. And he wanted to sign up his three-year-old Labrador retriever because he thought, you know, she's really. a great candidate for mayor. Yeah. And they obviously were like, yeah, no, that's not a human being. You can't, we're not going to be accepting dog nominations. And I guess that this is all online. The dog's name is Jenny. And he put it up on a blog and there's like thousands and thousands of people supporting the dog for mayor. Oh my gosh. Is this not the most ridiculous thing you've ever heard? I thought that the one person was crazy. Who are these thousands of people? I don't know. People that are saying, you know, this is a huge message to politicians when people say that they'd vote.
for a dog before they'd vote for them as a repeat mayor. It's a bit. Sienna, do you still have the eight mistakes that even smart women make? I do. I want to know what that is. For whatever reason, that is to a guy that's very interesting to me. Eight mistakes that smart women make. Being too available. Well, is that sort of a goes without saying type of thing? Because I assume that that's why they're listing this as eight mistakes that... smart women would make in other words you wouldn't think that a smart woman would do this but even they will do that is that the deal yeah no they're saying you know even women that that don't aren't very obvious that they want to be with a guy or whatever but i don't know the example that they're giving is just don't always say yes you can hang out like especially in the beginning you know i think it goes for guys and girls yeah oh definitely For guys too available, right? It's called game playing. Exactly. That's what I think too. I just hate this. You have to play games a little in the beginning. See, I say be as available as you actually are. Yeah, exactly. You want to hang out, hang out. Exactly. But some women will think that you're a creep. That's...
That's okay. That woman's not for me. Exactly. Okay, well, what about this, you guys? What about you get a little text message on your phone from this significant other? Are you going to respond right away? Yes. If I'm there. No, I would not. I'm going to play the game all day. Right away. Not me. In fact, if it took too long, I might be out on her. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, don't clown around. Don't play games. I'm not a child. You might be out on her. What if she's in the gym? What if she's not? Oh, you guys are ridiculous. Thank you. Thank you. Oh, my gosh. Tweedledee and Tweedledum. Tweedledee and Tweedledumass. That's right. Another mistake that even smart women make are trying to rehabilitate a bad boy. That's like so many girls try to do that. Of course. Oh, I know it. Yeah. You know what I mean? Like there's a guy who you know is just trouble. I'll change him. He wants to be good. You can't change him. You can't change people. No. They have to change for themselves. They have to change. Another mistake is looking for... There's 80,000 women that are driving their cars right now that just looked at their radios and they were like, I can. I can do it. I can do it. Yeah, for sure. I've already done it. I've already done it. I'm doing it now. You're not and you didn't. As far as you know. Some women can do it.
Oh, no. Sienna just looked at her radio and went, I can do it. I can do it. I just did it. No, I'm not saying I did it. I'm not saying I did it. But, like, I think, you know, Jay's wife maybe did. Yeah, women can change. Men can change. People can change. I agree with that. But Jay says he changed to be with her. Oh, absolutely. Right. So she changed him. No, Jay changed him. Because of her. It was a cause and effect. It wasn't like a pressure system moving through the Northwest. She rehabilitated a bad boy. Okay. Right, Jay? 100%. Thank you. She rehabilitated a bad boy. I really have to think about it because I think that what happened was he rehabilitated a bad boy. He rehabilitated a bad boy. So did you. What did he just say? And I'm like halfway there. Yeah. Woods is almost there. Woods has still got his one foot in bad boy. One foot and good boy. No, I'm a good boy. Really? Yeah. Really? Yeah, really. Are you? You dance around the bad boy line a little bit. Aren't I? Are you? Aren't I? What's going on right now? Aren't I? Another mistake that even smart women make, feeling sorry for yourself. And that's something that guys do just as much. You know, just... The girl that feels sorry for herself? Yeah. What does that mean? Like, what does it look like? Play it out. What is that conversation like?
Yeah, if that girl is on the phone with you, what does it sound like when she's feeling sorry for herself? I have so much work to do. And it's just, my rent is just really expensive. Kills me. That's a conversation I have with my wife that I have. I sound like that. I do too. I'm a huge whiner. I'm a whiner. I'm a whiner. Yeah, I'm a whiner. Yeah, but once you're like married, it's like you can just whine. You can whine, right? You can whine. I whine. My wife. First of all, never whines to me. I constantly whine to her. Ditto. Yeah. My wife's like moving or like moving. She's done everything. She doesn't go, oh my God, you haven't done anything. Like, here's me. I had a really long day. Our meeting went to like two o'clock. I just want to go to take a nap. My lips hurt real bad. My lips hurt real bad. My wife, yesterday my wife was wonderful. Wonderful, Mike? Really? She's terrific. Fantastic. Can I stop saying wonderful? It's okay. It's just started. It's like every time I say it, it's like finding a gray hair in my beard. I did it. Wonderful. I took it out of my Settle a Bet audio because I was like. You sounded ridiculous. Someone told me what they did for a living and I said, oh, wonderful. Yeah, you're not 74. Anyway, so yesterday, Rebecca listened to me whine and she even settled me down by laughing.
She didn't dance her way out of it? No. Every once in a while, I would get really wound up and she would just laugh. And I instantly was calm. You have to be because really, yeah, we all have problems. But like, really, this is what we do. This is where we live. Like, come on. Every time I start that whining bit, I just look outside and I'm like, yes. I go, yeah. I was like, I go, yeah. I just got out of our meeting and it's three and I still have to go to the chiropractor. And then when I come home, I can't even do anything because I just have to start working right away. Yeah, that was me. Yeah, that was me too. We all had a little bit of a case of the Mondays. It was a big Monday day. Sounds like somebody's got a case of the Mondays. All of the bands being played. Do you still have some more, Santa? Yeah. How many? Four. We'll cover them. All the bands being played today are bands that were at Coachella. Jay's picking the music. This is Edward Sharp with Magnetic Zeros. President Obama doing a fundraiser in L.A. yesterday, and he got heckled by gay rights protesters. We have the audio. We have the audio, and we will play it next. Is the Mikey Show on FM 94.9. Begin in a world of consumer-banging needs, but travel to another dimension. The name of the band is Passion Pit. The song's called The Reeling. And Jay's picking the music. It's all Coachella stuff. All bands have played at Coachella. Let's see. Just want to introduce the show to you. There's five people on the Mikey Show and myself. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show. Woodsy is our sports guy, Pepper O'Brien, also known as Lauren O'Brien, although more people call her Pepper. Yes. Her parents call her Pepper now. Yeah, her parents call her Pepper. Sienna is our news girl. Jay is our producer. And Noah is hanging out in the studio. And NBC739 is coming up here to interview him as well. Wow. Tom Brokaw will probably show up at some point. I hope so. So let me ask you now. How long have you known that you have this ability? Let's see. So we had four more. Dating mistakes that even smart women make. Yes. What else we got? Don't ask the relationship questions before you really start dating. Really? Yeah. I think that's awful advice. Really? Oh, absolutely. I think that that's the worst advice somebody could possibly give. This is the example that they give. Knowing his thread count before you know his phone number. Agree. Knowing his thread count before you know his phone number. Just like knowing too much. Like just too many questions too quickly.
So, like, which way do you like to put the toilet paper? Maybe we just get a hot dog. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, if it's that stuff. But I do think the questions are really, really important. It's like, if I'm getting a car, I want to know about the car. Yeah, but maybe just get to know each other and just get to know each other's personalities before you find out every last detail about... You can't just jump into... So, how many kids do you want? That, yeah. Okay, well, no, I do think that's important. Yeah, but not in the very, like, before... you know, anything really happens before you're official. Oh, yeah, I think so. Just relax. Aren't you supposed to share your hopes and dreams with that person? No. Yeah, but I'm just saying if you're a girl and you say that to a guy, freak him out. Just have a little fun, Mike. Loosen up. I think he's the wrong guy. Oh, my God. Listen, if you are dating somebody... Wait, no, no. You're interested in dating somebody, meaning that at some point you think that you may call this person your girlfriend or your boyfriend. But you may not know on the first two dates. Maybe you don't, but you like them. Can we agree on that? You like them. Okay, so you like them. Let's say you find somebody. You like them, like them? Yeah. You like them, like them. Yeah, you don't want to just. Check yes or no. You don't want to just smooch. Okay. You want to get to, you want to, you think there's a possibility if things work out, you want to be committed. Okay? Okay.
If that's the deal, you absolutely ask questions like, hey, how many kids do you want? And the reason that you do is because it's unwise not to. You know what? You know how that, okay, let's fast forward that tape. You'll hear me say this a lot. Fast forward the tape. I'll say this to you. Fast forward the tape. What that means is that if life could be put on a TiVo remote control and you could go ba-doop, ba-doop, ba-doop. Yeah. Just ba-doop, ba-doop, ba-doop that. of you not asking those questions so here's what happens in the you really like them and you start to fall in love with them now you really like them you are in love with them now you really like them you're in love with them you're now committed in a relationship with them you want to get married to them in fact you do get married to them they don't want kids you do But by the second Padoop, you would ask those questions. Right, but on the second Padoop, you were in love. No, before the second Padoop. It happens every day. It happens all the time. If I was dating someone within one month, and within that one month they asked me how many kids I wanted, I'd be freaked out. Really? And I'm someone who wants kids. Yeah, that's like, dude, I don't even know if I want to date you any longer. If we were going out, Sienna, and I go, and we're having a talk, and let's say I'm over at the house, and we're watching some cute,
Dumb TV show. I don't know what. Friends. Friends. Okay. And, well, let's say we're not watching Friends. Let's say we're watching... How I Met Your Mother. No. Miley Cyrus. All right, you pick the show. And we'll play it. We're watching one of those sweet shows like Home Makeover. Home Makeover. Is that what it's called? Home Makeover? Extreme Home Makeover. Extreme Home Makeover. I don't want to talk about it. I know. It doesn't make you cry, right? Okay, so we're watching Extreme Home Makeover. And there's little kids running around. And I go, oh, my gosh, you're so cute. You want kids? That would not. What? In the beginning, it's like. Are you kidding? Really? The ice queens over here, dude. We're watching Extreme Home Makeover, and I go, those kids are so cute. You want kids? 99 out of 100 girls are like. Okay, it's easy for you guys to say that. They just think it's a question. You're both married now. It's easy for you to say that now when you're both married. When you were dating a girl for a month, would you have gone, I hope I have twins. I didn't just say that.
No. Those are cute kids. Do you like kids? Those are cute kids. You like kids? Really? You're going to be like, I can't believe. Oh, my God. You just asked me if I like kids. No. We wouldn't obviously say that, but it's like, oh, jeez. Really? Really? I say you like kids. You're already imagining us having kids together? No, he's not. These girls, the ice queens. See, but I think Lauren and I are the same in a sense of when we first get into a relationship, but it takes a minute. To be like, do I really want to be here? Really? You guys are Icelandic volcanoes. Yeah, you are. You're Iceland volcanoes. It took me a while, yeah, with every relationship to get it. Guys out there, ask questions. Ask questions. Of course you do. You better stop it right now. Just tiptoe carefully. And the reason that you do, because you're sitting there, you're watching Extreme Home Makeover, and you go, oh, those kids are cute. You like kids? And she goes, not really. And you know what you do? You go, great. Nice talking to you. See you later. If that's what you want. If that's what you want. Or maybe you're the type that doesn't want kids. And you go, hey, that's really cute. You like kids? And she's like, no, I don't. And I would never want them. And you're like, that's a girl for me. Yeah, exactly. Because you don't either. You never know until you ask. Of course. Why waste your time? You don't do it all creeper-ish. No, and I'm going to give you guys a little inside info.
Girls love to be asked questions. They love questions. You're saying that. I want to know what Jay says. What do you mean? I agree with the girls. There's no way I'm talking about babies. I'm still trying to figure out if she's even going to hang around. Because you scare them off. I mean, they'll run. You guys just have forgotten what it was like. Here's creepy. We'll run. Here's creepy. So, hey, if this works out, if we end up together, first of all, are you... you know, of fertile age. Do you have childbearing hips? Do you have childbearing hips? I want to know. I know this is a little strange, but do you have childbearing hips? And then also, I'd like to know... How many children will we have? Right. Now that's creepy. That's creepy. Saying, oh, I love kids. I love kids? I would say I love kids. On our first date, I would say I absolutely love kids. You guys are turning this around. The entire thing was saying too much too quickly. Now you're like, oh, no. Do it. Do it. Do it. Do it. I would say ask simple questions like, hey, you come from a big family. You know, just stuff about her. Like, hey, you know, thinking about getting knocked out soon. Not your wants and desires.
towards like family life just yet. Look, I'm the only person on the show that's not married and I'm in the hot seat here. I can tell you. If we went on a date. L.O.B. Kids close a lot of business in this day. Oh. I know how to make it right. In the past. In the past. We've gotten married once. I know what works and what doesn't. Trust me. Trust me. Well, I know from a woman's perspective what I like and what I don't. I like how Woods thinks he knows what we want more than what we want. More than we do. We're on a date. Worked a few times. We're on a date, and I decided that I was going to go big. We're at Applebee's. All right? Bala. Two for 20 real good. That's right. Two for 20. Kill it real good. Real sweetly. Yeah, sweetly. Real sweetly. And we're watching television there at the Applebee's. Mm-hmm. And you know what they have it on? They have it on TNT. And you know what's on TNT? Jerry Maguire. Oh, God. Okay? Jerry Maguire's on.
And they show that. I'm already out. They show that. I'm already looking at my cell phone like, all right, I got half an hour more with this clown. What did I do? What did he do? Jerry Maguire's on. What did I do? I already noticed that Jerry Maguire was on. Really? Yeah. Really? Yep. Mikey would be staring like. Because I noticed Jerry Maguire's on. And we're at Applebee's. And we're at Applebee's. And we're at Applebee's. And you're doing it up. I care about material things. I just want somebody to be with me. But you better not take me to Applebee's. That's right. I'd rather have you cook for me. M1 Papa Driz. These girls are impossible. Go ahead, Papa Driz. My wife and I, before we were even dating, we talked about everything that you could possibly imagine. How many kids we wanted, how we wanted to raise the kids. Of course. What we wanted in life expectancy. A job interview? Yeah, Papadrius, that's what sane and normal people do. Oh, wow. Oh, wow. 15 months later, and we have two kids now, and we're happily married. Of course you are. How's that working out in Perfectville? Yeah, it feels real good. It doesn't rain in his world. It never rains in your house, does it? That's right. These girls are impossible. They're impossible. We can only speak from ourselves, and look, we're two women, the only two women on the show, and we seem to agree, and it's weird. Give me another one. Okay.
Being too selfish in your relationship is another mistake that even smart women make when dating. Being too selfish in your relationship. What does that mean? Thinking, you know, how can he provide? What is he going to provide for me? Like, how is he going to provide for me? His job. Does he have a good job? Like, I don't need to do anything. He needs to wait on me. I'm creeped out by this. With him is what's in it for me. Yeah. I'm creeped out by that. I think that that's a perfectly legitimate thing. for a woman to ponder while dating a prospective mate. You should be looking at compatibility from the two components coming together, not necessarily just, hey, what's this guy bringing to me? Not just that. But that makes it out to me to sound like that's not a good idea, like you can't do that. It should be, how could we compliment one another? How can we show that we fit? You can't have both at the same time? It shouldn't be just about you. It should be, okay, am I right for this guy? Or am I going to try to change him? I do think it's prudent for a woman to say to herself, is this guy a good provider? Does he have a good job? Does he have a good future? Is he ambitious? If he looks like Brad Pitt from Romance. True Romance. Floyd. Yeah. If he looks like Brad Pitt playing Floyd and he's doing bong loads out of a honey bear. Honey bear. Honey bear.
Maybe look the other direction. Maybe move on. He's a creative guy. He's a great guy to have around. Obviously, yeah. Except for the Brad Pitt part. Obviously, he can make do with what he has. It's a good guy to have around. No, but also, you know, there's other levels of selfishness that plenty of men and women have. So just don't be too selfish. We're all selfish. Every one of us. There's none of us that aren't selfish. We all want what we want. That's life. That's human. Or also maybe expecting him to pay all the time. I think he should pay the first couple dates. Isn't that innate in a female? Well, no, but some women think... Aren't you born with that gene? No. Don't you want to be equal? yet when the check comes, never pay for anything? Oh, chill out. There are so many women that are... No, not 100%. Thank you. Yeah, bro. And by the way, I don't think there's anything wrong with it. Oh, until you get married or like, until you've been dating for five years. That's usually the bit. No, it's not. Really? Not in my world. Really? No, yeah, really. So you're saying to me, first date. First date. You go on a first date, okay? And you go out to a nice restaurant. And when the bill comes, he just...
Waits for you to grab it. And then when you're done, he's going to go, oh, I'll throw my card in. Really, that's a cool dude. And you can't wait to see him again. It's different than a first date. A third date. Third date? No, I would ante up. Yeah. So first date, what? What should happen on a first date? First date, he should pay. Why? Why? Well, I would expect that if I'm going out with this guy, he asks me out. I don't do the asking out. Okay. Okay, so it's if the person... That makes sense to me. I mean, I don't buy it, but it makes sense to me. And that's all it needs to do. As long as in my head I can go, okay, you got me. And okay, you got me. But. But what? If you're really, you know. I have no problem on the second date being like, I got it. You got the last one. Oh, see, not me. I'll be honest. I'll be honest. Thank you for being honest. I think, I think, no, but I'm different. I honestly believe Lauren. Call up anyone I've dated. Yeah. Go ahead. Hang on a second. There's a difference between, but there's a difference between. Go ahead, Mike. Go ahead. You call him. Go ahead. You want to get some information? Yeah, call him right now. You want some information? No. Go ahead. Call him. Go ahead. Go ahead. Here's the deal.
I think that there's a difference between those dudes where, see, I don't think you liked it when they, they did it and you paid, but I don't think you dug it. No, it depends on if they were like, oh yeah, that's fair. Or if they were like, really? Just realize we can't win. Yeah, because women will, I've heard, I've heard this, this bit. Oh, you guys are just the perfect sex. And we're just such a pain in the ass. That's right. We'll just never win. Oh, my gosh. We'll never win. Can't win. Oh, it's so hard being a man. It is. First three dates, pick up the tab. All right? Just pick up the tab. Pick her up. Open the door. That's a good girl. So that's the first three dates. When I was dating Rebecca, I never, I didn't want her to pay for stuff. I was very chivalrous in that way. It's awkward. The whole thing's awkward. Because, like, girls, you know, and I remember the first date with Todd, I was talking to my friend before, and I was like, Okay, no, do I offer? And she's like, yeah, I would offer. And I came down to it, and I was like, I didn't say anything. So how do you feel, Pep, on the third date when he doesn't go for that bill? He probably asked you every time. Every time you guys went out, you probably didn't initiate. He probably initiated every time and said, hey, you want to go grab some food? What a hard-ass move that would be for the guy to sit back and just go, just this move?
There you go. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, God. Play it. Why does that ever do that? That guy would be a jerk. That guy would be a polite person. Like, if I went to date, I mean, not a date, to dinner with one of my friends and they just sat back and did that, I'd be like, you're an idiot. Why wouldn't you grab it? What's that? Why wouldn't you grab it? Well, I would. I would be a give and take. That's how it works with my friends and I. We either go right Dutch style down the middle or it's like, you got the last one. I'll get this one. Maybe he's distracted. You know, he's the distracted type. He's distracted by your beauty. And so you guys are talking and he's distracted by your beauty and he doesn't reach for the check. Really? First of all, and Woods just said he did this bit. Push it across the table. I've never done that. No, he's saying the hypothetical dude. Oh, it would be brilliant. If a guy had stones big enough to go... Those would be some big stones. Why don't you get this one? I'll get the next one. Yeah, I'll get the next one. Any girl in the world would go, okay. But in her mind, she'd be going, there's not going to be a next one. But, no. But then on the drive home, she'd be like, did that son of... Did he? I got to call him. I want that guy. You know why? Because I don't think I can get him. Really? No, she would not.
Really? Go fly a kite. Hit the road, buzzard. Buzz off, buzzard. Hit the road, buzzard. Why can't I get that right? Hit the road, buzzard. I can't get it right. Buzz off, buzzard. Oh, man. Is that it? I have two more. Go ahead. Another mistake, a dating mistake that even smart women make is believing in the one. And people can believe whatever they want, so I do not like this one. But there are women that believe, you know. This man that I'm going to find that I'm going to marry is the only man in the world for me. Really? Isn't that every woman that's ever gotten married? Oh, I'm sorry. No, no, no, no. Isn't it every man that ever got married? Didn't every human being that ever got married think to themselves, he's the one, she's the one. But the one that I'm going to marry, it's not the only one. You believe in soulmates? No, but these are people that are just starting to date. Yeah, yeah. That's like... I do, too. Do you not? You don't? I don't think so. What? I don't think so. Okay, what's the opposite of believing in soulmates? Believing that there are many people that could be the one, and it's just serendipitous, who comes into your life. Really? Cold-blooded. Oh, my goodness. These volcano...
Cold-blooded. I don't know what I believe in that situation. Because I believe that I married my soulmate. I do. But I also see movies like Sleepless in Seattle where, you know, something may happen to one. And I would like to believe that there's someone else out there that could be just as great for me. God forbid something happened to that person. Does that mean, like, you're out? You're done? No such thing as anybody else for you? No. Maybe you're right. I don't know. Maybe you could have... Can you? Sure. You're with your... No, you're talking me out of it. No, I don't want to talk anyone out of it. No, because... Just because I'm a little jaded. No, no, no. If something happened to me, if something happened to me, I would hope that Rebecca would eventually fall in love with someone else again. Sure you would. Then who do you see in heaven? Would you? Really? Did you guys have a thing where you're like... I told you. Jamie's like, oh, yeah. If something happens to me, you can never get married again. Yeah, she said she'd haunt you. Haunt me. I'm like, yeah, no, you can't do that. I love that. I'm like, honey, I would want somebody to love you and cherish you and take care of you. Yeah. If I passed away. Yeah. She's like, yeah, but you can't.
I mean, obviously, Rebecca would be celibate. Right. Obviously. She can still hold hands. She can marry a person celibate. That's fine. As long as they don't touch. As long as they don't touch, yeah. In any way. I don't know. And sleep in different rooms. I don't know. Maybe my mind will change. You just got me with that one, though. You just got me with that. Yeah, but it's like, I think that there's not a lot of people for you, but I think that there are exceptions that they fit. Maybe hit the reset button. Yeah. Maybe hit the reset button. If something happens, then you reset. Yeah. Because what happens if you think you're with your soulmate? You are. Things don't work out. You are until they pass on and then you hit the reset. Right. And then you get a new soulmate. And stay celibate. And you stay celibate. You don't do anything. You don't even kiss. You don't hold hands. You're partners. You ride in a car together. She stays in one room. You stay in the other. Yeah, that's right. And the last dating mistake is... Don't forget your manners. Always remember how important it is to say thank you if he picks up a bill. Like, he did not have to do that, although you may think he did. Like, he didn't have to. That's really nice. Say thank you. That's really nice. Although, I think it would make me uncomfortable. What? If she said thank you? Are you kidding me? Hey, thanks for coming. You're a weirdo. No, no, no. Hang on. Give me a second. I'm thinking about it. Hey, Mike. It was a great date. I really appreciate it. Thanks for picking up the tap.
That way would make me uncomfortable. Okay, thanks for dinner. I really appreciate it. Thanks so much for taking me out. I had a really good time. Come here in French. That would be okay. Come here in French, man. Don't do that. That freaks me out when you say that. Thank you for the French. Thanks for the French, pal. This is creeping me out. That's creeping me out. Your goatee tickles my lips when you're French. Okay, weird. Oh, my God. This is creeping me out. Definitely got really weird. My mom taught me, like, when I was a kid, whenever we'd all get up from the table and we'd start to be, like, making the exit, my mom would say, go thank your father for dinner. Oh, yeah. So my move is always, like, the walkout bit. It's, like, when everything has been settled, not the awkward, like, oh, hey, thanks, when you pull out your credit card. Thanks, pops. But it's, like, the walkout move. It's, like, thank you, you know. That's very cool. Side by side. That's very cool. I'm going to remember that for my kids. I'm terrible at this social. Give them to the kid. I'll take care of him. Don't worry. Rebecca's got it on lock. And she does. And Uncle Steve will make it right. You know that. Even now. Even now. I struggle with that stuff. I get so anxious that I've messed something up. It's like I texted Woodsy yesterday and said, you know, do you hate my guts? I'm like, what? What? I wake up. I got a splitting headache. And I'm like, really, dude? Why? And I knew you would. As soon as I sent it, I thought, he's going to think this is so girlish.
Yeah, you don't have to. It was a little girl. It is. This is so Frankie-esque. Do you hate my guts? I'm like, for what? You said, for what? And I said, because we're getting on each other's nerves. No, we're not. You're not getting on my nerves. I got on your nerves. What is it? I'll tell you what happened. Oh, gosh. I know exactly what he's going to say. The tickets. The tickets. Our sales guy came in. Oh, the Padre tickets. Our sales guy came in, and he had these Padre tickets, and he goes, Do any of you guys want a pair of Padre tickets? They're really good seats. And I'm in my head going, let's see which one of these clowns goes for it. If one of them does, I'm going to leave like a panther. Did you have to ask yourself? Of course not. It's a night game. I knew exactly who was going to go for it. And so Woodsy goes, I'll take him. And I go, and I'm in my head. I'm like, really, pal? Really? We wake up early in the morning. Really, pal? And so he gives him the Woodsy. And this is what I said. I go. Are you going to yawn in the morning? You said if you yawn. And I flipped it out. And he goes, really, dude, that's weak. No, I said dad. That's weak. No, that came later. He called him dad. But in the very beginning, he goes, really, dude, that's weak. And I could tell instantly, like, ooh, that one really got him. Like, I thought that I was doing it in a way that was okay. You know, like, are you going to yawn? You know how he did it. It was not okay. Are you going to yawn?
Oh, if you, no, you go, if you yawn tomorrow. If you yawn tomorrow. As long as we don't talk to somebody like a school teacher. Okay. All right. And he said, you yawn yesterday, pal. No, he said, he goes, you yawn today. I got you. I got you. I watch it now. I'm the Gestapo. And so he goes, he goes, he goes, it's okay, dad. I'll give it to you. And he said it real quick. Real quick. I go, really? Really? Really? I gave it to my buddy Winder because he's a huge Giants fan. Did you? Yeah. I did. You gave them to him? Who gave them to him? Mikey dropped them off. No, I didn't. Well, but they came from Woodsy. I mean, they were definitely, they were Woodsy's tickets and gifts. I was going to invite him and go for a few innings and, you know, just. You're grounded. I'd never. Sky it up. I haven't seen a quadrice. This is good, though, because see, now I, and I think that you've told me, but I forgot. You're good unless it's delivered in a, like. Condescending. Childish. So what I should have said is, I should have gone. Maybe not said anything. No. See, that's what Rebecca said. She probably wouldn't have said anything. And I go, babe, I don't say anything. Dude's in there tomorrow morning. Bro, here's the deal. I watched the whole game. I went to bed at 10.30. I go to bed at 10.30 every night. Rebecca said. She goes.
You don't know if he's going to be going to bed late anyway. And I go, yeah, but that's not, like, right in front of my face. I don't know what he's doing at home. He could be staying up all night long with a pacifier and a candy cane necklace. And, like, I have no idea. You have to just trust your team, Mike. I'm watching him. I got him taking care of me. The day that I don't come in here and give 100% and I'm not on time, then you can drop the hammer. The problem is? Until that day comes. Make it right. I said to her, I go, listen, he's Kobe. And she interrupts me. She goes, ah, there you go. That's it. That's it. I go, he's Kobe. I go, ah. I'm back here dragging threes for you. I know it. I know it. Everybody just got to see behind the curtain. Go ahead. I did. I dropped the dad on you real fast. Fine. That was a dad-like statement. I'm figuring it out, you know. What did you say? He's back here shooting threes. He does. He does. The day I come in here and don't give 100% or if I'm late or whatever, then you can drop the hammer on me. I can't go to bed before 10. I just can't. And because you told me not to stay up, I stayed up. That is woods. Nobody tells the kid what to do. You know that. You know that, Mike. Granted, I was laying in my bed, but I said to Rebecca, I go, okay.
I'm just not going to say anything. I'm not going to talk anymore. I'm not going to talk except on the radio. I'm not going to talk except on the radio. That's the only time I'll ever talk. I hate that. I hate it. Fine. I can't say anything right now. I won't talk. You know what? I just want to talk. I'll just become moot. I won't say anything at all. Don't be that person. Larry King interviewed Pam Anderson, which is not big news. He interviewed her for Dancing with the Stars. That's not big news. The big news, or the story here, is that if you take... which we did, if you take all of the questions that he asked her and you edit them all together and you listen to the questions in a row, it's one of the creepiest things in the world, except for one of the creepiest parts. It's the creepiest thing. I can't wait. Was he looking at her face during the entire interview? You'll hear it next. The Mikey Show now. 570-1949. Or text 949mikey at gmail.com. SurfWise today, looking at that southwest swell, west-southwest combination that is continuing to hang right in there. Most spots, though, just not picking it up, running in that need-to-waste-high zone. top areas that can pick it up, seeing some waist chest, shoulder high waves, with even some pluses on top of that, albeit on a very inconsistent basis. We do have that tide, though, that continues to drop out, almost a negative low at around 9-11 this morning. So we'll have to look at some improvement later in the morning as that tide does swing back up on the higher side. That should help outsize and shape at just about all areas. Standout reefs, though, and some of those low tide sandbar spots, we'll prefer a moderately low tide. So pay attention to those books. Partly cloudy skies right now, and you might want to take advantage of the weather and waves today because it does look like a series of little low fronts are going to cross our pattern over the next few days, giving us cloudy skies and rain threats for sure. The theme in the music today is bands that played at Coachella. Jay picked the music. That's music from LCD Sound System. Losing My Edge is the name of the song. Welcome back. We have Noah still in the studio with us right now. Can we do, and maybe you can, maybe you can't, but can we do fantasy baseball or are you not good at fantasy baseball? Can you do that? I'm two now. Are you really? What do you mean?
I have two wins. You have two wins. We're over here. I'm a giant, giant fantasy baseball nerd. Yeah. Been playing the last 10 years with my buddies. They're all in Wichita, Kansas. And we are psychotic about it. And apparently Noah is a lunatic about it as well. So we're both stoked. You would kind of think so because his goal is to be a general manager for a major league baseball team. Right. In case you are just tuning in. We have 12-year-old Noah in the studio with us. And Noah wants to be a Major League Baseball general manager. And he even got a letter from the general manager of the San Diego Padres, Judd Hoyer. That is so awesome. That's amazing. Yeah. Basically, the gist of the email said, hey, man, you know, I look forward to working with you one day. I said the same thing when I was your age. That's all I ever wanted to do. And, you know, hey, get through school and then give me a shout. We'll hopefully work together someday. I think it would be really cool. There's no doubt in my mind he will be a Major League Baseball general manager. At some capacity. I mean, there's no question.
He got the stamp of approval. That's great. He gave him his personal endorsement. From a GM. That's great. All right, so let's talk some fantasy baseball. Well, yeah, so he was looking at my team. He was looking at my team. What do you think overall? Let's see. On the offensive side, let's see. Did you do an auction draft? No, I don't even know. I don't know what that is. I don't either. An auction draft? Did you just regular draft? Yeah, regular draft. Let me guess. A-Rod was your first draft pick. He was my first pick. Who do you like? What's good? What's bad? Where do I need help? You need help in the outfield. Yeah. And starting pitching is great. You need outfield help and relief help. Dude, so I'm looking at my team this morning going. And get rid of Chapman. Really? You think so? Yeah. Probably. Is this a keeper league? Yeah. No, no, it's not a keeper league. Well, then you need to get rid of Chapman. Why would I get rid of him? Because he'll probably only make one or two starts this year in September. Oh, he's not coming up until then? I don't think so. Or if he does come up earlier in the year, he's not going to do as good because he's more raw than Steven Strasburg, who is coming out of college. And Strasburg's coming up when? Soon? June? Probably June. All I know is that there are guys grabbing their Blackberries right now, calling their friends, going, hey, can you log on right now to Yahoo for me and change a couple of things? Can you change a couple of things for me?
I'm literally, when he leaves, I'm dropping Chapman. And you said, I need to pick up. You said, in case Heath Bell doesn't. Woods made notes earlier. He was saying this stuff, and he's writing down what Noah said. He goes, say that again, say that again. It sounded like a bookie talking to their guy. He's like, yeah, you want seven points on that one? Let me give you three points. Take three points on this. It was incredible. So I picked up Jason Fraser. He's great. Okay, because Greg has been named the closer now in Toronto, but Fraser has pitched a couple scoreless. You like that move? Yeah, I do. Okay, because you think he'll be back in the fray, right? He will. Greg is not a closer. No offense if he's listening, but... I highly doubt that he is in Toronto, but... That's so great. All right, so you like my pitching, I need some saves, and I need some outfield help. Yeah, you need... Why don't you just pick up McClouth and put him on your bench for... You could drop Chapman and pick up McClouth. Of course you do, Woodsy. And put McClouth on your bench until he heats up. Okay, McLeod. Lindsay's writing it down. Or Chapman. Do you know how many guys right now are probably going to be writing us going, can you guys do the fantasy baseball thing every week? Because I just want to be able to change my lineup, but I want to be able to do it when he's giving this information. I'm thinking about giving him my password so that he has free reign to set and log in to do my team every day. That would be rad. I love it. So you've already won your first two games, right, Noah?
And how well do you do generally? Well, I've only played two games. This is my first year of fantasy baseball. I'm the commissioner. But I'm two years. Of course he is. Of course he is. He makes his mom play too. Right. That's so awesome. She plays willingly. She plays willingly. Oh, she does? Yeah. Yeah, because we talked to you about that last week about mom and how well mom has adapted to the fact that you know more about baseball than a lot of general managers in Major League Baseball. And she said some of the stuff she understands, some of the stuff she just doesn't understand. This kid, I'm looking at his team. One thing he did, he keeps picking up this one guy and dropping him, picking him up and dropping him and picking him up and dropping him so that people will think. He's played strategy. So people will think he's the original Frankie Rodriguez and go, gosh, he's. People keep dropping and adding this guy, and his percentage of people that are adding him is going up. So then somebody will want to maybe trade him for him. He's brilliant. Or pick him up off waivers, and then I'd get waiver money because if a team doesn't want to do it midseason, we're just going to have them drop all their players.
And then there'd be a huge bidding war over the entire team. This is great. Here's the thing. There may be a lot of people listening right now going, okay, that seems like good strategy, but what's the big deal? The big deal is he's 12. I don't even know these moves. He's 12. That's the big deal. And his team is stacked. Stacked. He's got like four pitchers that are hurt. They're all just sitting down at the bottom of the DL waiting. He's a hoarder. He's like you with your cologne. He's hoarding players. This kid's going to be like the most shrewd GM ever. He's going to be like the Billy Bean of MLB who signs these guys that are kind of, you know, we don't know. We're not too sure about them. They become great. Then he trades them for all young prospects. And he does it every single year. Have you read Moneyball yet? No. You will, though. I guarantee you. He'll have it finished by 7 o'clock tonight. Yeah, tonight. Exactly. Well, part of the thing is, is that. The reason that NBC739 is in the studio with us right now is because he's 12. He's 12. Woods, would you trust Noah to manage the Yankees? Wow, Woods. Give me six years and I would. At 18, he could do it. He couldn't handle New York. He's only 12. Woods, for the radio. All the girls. Woods, for the radio, wanted so badly to be able to go, oh, yeah, absolutely. And he went.
Yeah. Couldn't do it. Short of breath. Short of breath. Can't do it. Hey, I just said, when he's 18, Hank, give him the reins. He is furiously scouring your team right now. The whole time you were talking, he was looking at your computer to make sure that all of your lineup was correct and done right. And he's pointing things out right now. He's incredible. Pointing stuff out. He's incredible. It's awesome. Well, so you play on a Little League team, right? Yeah. The Dodgers. And you guys have a game tonight. What position are you playing? Right. Just. I'm playing right right now. Right field. Playing right field. You know, when I was young, I played right field. And they said, you know, I always, I told my dad, I said, why are you, I go, why are you putting me in right field? That's where you put, you know, and my dad goes, hey, listen, you need to have a cannon for right field. He goes, you need to have a good, strong arm. So get out there, learn the outfield as best you can. And, you know, where do you want to play? What's your aspiration? I want to play second base. You want to play second base? Great position. Played second base a lot. Just practice, hustle, hit the cages. I'll hit your grounders, whatever you need. Love it. Love the game. Love it. Noah, thank you. Noah's the best. Yeah, Noah. He's the best. All right, we got a lot of stuff to do. Thank you so much. I love Noah. Noah's the best. And one know a lot. That's right. And one know a lot. And one know a lot. All right, we got some stuff that I told you we were going to do that we haven't done yet, so I want to get to it. One of them was President Obama. He was at a fundraiser.
In Los Angeles. He was interrupted. This happened yesterday, Sienna? Yeah. A fundraiser in Los Angeles. And he is interrupted by gay rights activists that are upset about the don't ask, don't tell policy. And so they interrupt him in the middle of the speech. Here's what happened. She's passionate about fighting for jobs. Jobs with good wages. Jobs with good benefits. She's passionate about fighting for California's families. She is. We are going to do that. Hey, hold on a second. Hold on a second. This is Obama's bit, by the way. Obama's thing, which I think is good, is that when he has had protesters in the past and they say their stuff, he'll engage them. I like that. I do, too. I actually think that's pretty cool. Because what it says to anybody observing it is, is we're okay with it and I'll talk about it. Listen, I'll tear you out. I'll talk to you about whatever your problem is.
We are going to do that. So let's. What are they saying? Yes, we can. I think so. That's Logan. Guys, guys. I'm tense. I agree. I agree. Of course he agrees. I agree. Yeah, weird. Nah. Do you agree? So, President, Mr. President, do you agree? No, listen. Okay, I will listen. Do you agree? What the young man was talking about was we need to pass, we need to. We need to repeal Don't Ask, Don't Tell, which I agree with. What the man in the extremely small black t-shirt was saying, I agree with that 100%. That's all I'm trying to say. What do you want from me? Yeah. Yeah. What the fellow that looks like Adam Lambert, what he was saying, I agree with that. Yeah, that's fine with me. Let's see. Impropriate. The Larry King thing.
I can't wait to hear that. I want to hear it. So strange. So Larry King is interviewing Pamela Anderson for the show Dancing with the Stars. And now you may or may not know this about Larry King. Larry King does not necessarily prepare a bunch of questions for people. What he wants, and I do this too, I just want bullet points. And then from that will come a conversation. Okay? See you guys later. See you guys later. Bye. Bye, Susanna. That's awesome. Bye, Susanna. Bye, buddy. Bye, Woods. Susanna's hiding underneath the table, so he just seesaw her, and he was like, hi, Susanna. Hi, Susanna. What are you doing down there? What are you up to? What are you up to? Don't worry about this, guys. Yeah, just keep your eyes on your own paper, right? So Larry King's talking to Pam, and what they did was they took and they edited out all the Pam stuff, just edited all his questions together. Just to see what, listen to the string of questions. This is all the questions that he asked her put together. Are you surprised at how well it's doing? Come on, Pamela. You're a seductive, sexy person. Why'd you turn it down? Did you offer not to wear underwear? Could that happen? Have you had a wardrobe malfunction? Could that happen? Sexy Pamela. It's all this creeper stuff.
So grossed out. It's like my interviewer. Yeah, exactly. What's up, Larry? Yeah, but he's... Yeah. You can't talk like that. Ew. Sexy Pamela, where's your underwear? Well, she did have all those stories come out where she had a lot of stuff revealed and Dancing with the Stars had to give her pasties. You know what pasties are? Yeah. Those little stickies you stick on the... Does that cover your boobs? Cover the boobs. Because they were becoming exposed so often. No. You know, I knew President Taft, and he dated a broad that looked just like you. Oh, wow. Back in 1934. Yeah. We were 65 years old. That's right. I knew Martha Washington. We dated briefly. Briefly. Great kisser. Great kisser. But her father didn't like me, so that's how she met George. She was with George. Anyhow. Betsy Ross was a whore. Yeah. A whore. Never liked Betsy. Seamstress whore. Seamstress whore. My goodness. I'm not trying to say I'm old, but would you like to see my musket wound? Oh, Larry. Sienna wrote in her recap, I love this. Sienna says, first of all, Sienna is a newlywed, and her husband Todd, their daughter Jenna, had some homework. Now, how old is...
Jenna. She's almost nine. And Sienna says it's insane the assignments that she gets for her homework. Yeah. They're really starting to get tough. The worst part about the homework is that these worksheets hardly have any directions. They don't. So how the heck are you supposed to know how to help your kids? Yeah. I brought in some questions to see if we as a team can figure out this third grade homework. They just expect you. Woods, don't cheat. He does that every time. I know. It doesn't matter. He's a cheater. Wow. Makes me nuts. You can all get it. Okay. Well, this particular worksheet she had to turn in today. But I did go through some of her other homework. Third grade. Yeah, third grade. Are we smarter than a third grade? I know I'm not. The homework that we were having a hard time with was an advertising thing. We had to pull out an advertisement clip from a magazine and discuss it and talk about the sources and all this crazy stuff. That maybe I could do. No, there were so many different questions about it. It's like, how do I describe a Gatorade G2 bottle in detail? See, I could do that. I can't do questions. I don't know things. Well, here we go. I have some questions for all of us. Let's do it.
And if your kids ever have crazy homework questions, email us. Yeah. We want to know. Email us. If your kid has really difficult questions, email them to us. We'd like to see what your kids have for homework. Of course, we'll know. It will be funny to see us try to figure it out. So email them in. Go ahead. Okay. Are you guys ready? I have a bunch of different kinds. Which type of rock is formed under heat and pressure? I know. Igneous? What's igneous? Wow. Metamorphic or sedimentary? Turn it so they don't think I'm cheating. Well, she didn't give an answer yet. I thought she just did. No, I just gave multiple choice. Oh. Which type of rock is formed under you, Mikey? Mikey looked at the first bit. I thought that... No, he didn't. No, I thought that Woods just said igneous. I was guessing, but she didn't... Well, Woods just got the wrong answer. I just got the wrong answer. He did? Yes. So that shows what I know. Which type of rock is formed under heat and pressure? Woods said igneous. It's metamorphic. Of course it is. Knew that. Jay? Never heard those words in my life. I know. I can't believe a third grader has to know that. It's insane. Next. Give me another one. What do plants lose in the process known as transpiration? Water? You've got to say your name.
Woods. Chlorophyll. Do they? Chloroform. More like chlorophyll. Chlorophyll. Lauren's answer is water vapor. Oh, look at you. Look at Miss Smarty Pants over there. Get ready for this one, guys. Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamen lived approximately when? Tutankhamen. Lived approximately when? Like, there's no directions on the sheet. How am I supposed to know this? Third century? You have to say woods. Woods, 3rd century? The answer is 1400 BC. Yeah, it's BC. I don't know. So obvious. Okay, here we go. No, I don't know. It's not the 3rd century. It's BC. See, I didn't know you were Mike. It's okay. Okay, how about this? What kind of animal is a kookaburra? Oh, mine. What? Woods. What, Mike, you went first. It's a marsupial. I think it is. Is it a marsupial? I knew this one because you go, kookaburra sits in the old gum tree. It's a bird. A bird. Jamie sings that all the time. Really? But she says she switches our dog's name in for kookaburra. Annie Bell sits in the big gum tree. That's it. Exactly. Lucky boy sits in the old gum tree. Yeah, she does. Is that a song that no one should know? We're insane.
Is that a song everyone should know? Yeah, you don't know the Kookaburra. I've never heard it in my life. I've never heard it. Okay. Which blood type is known as the universal recipient? Mikey. What? O. Wrong. Woods. B. Wrong. O positive. It's A-B. O. A-B? There's O, A, and A-B. Oh, wait. She said recipient. There's a universal donor and there's a universal recipient. Recipient. The donor is O. O positive. I'm O positive. Positive or negative can receive blood from anybody's blood type. If you're. Wow. Yeah. I'm type O negative. Third graders know that. Third graders know that. We don't. I know. I have no idea. 39 years of age. This is insane. If you don't use it, you lose it. Yeah. That's. Okay. There's more. What was the first name of President Abraham Lincoln's wife? I got it. Woods. What? Mary. You're right. Yes. Wow. Nice. Her maiden name was Todd. Harriet. What? Her maiden name was Todd. How do you retain that? It's pretty smart. Gosh darn. The kid must have learned that when he was like eight. Yeah, I read it in a value book. The New England region does not include which of the following states. I'll get this. Delaware, Vermont, Connecticut. Delaware. I would have never gotten that. Really? I live in San Diego. Yeah, but you're from the U.S. of A. It doesn't matter. Did you have geography class? We play by the rules.
What is the rule? Wait, we never... There's no... We're not playing for anybody. This is just fun. Okay, and wait till the question's finished. Say my name, say my name. Okay, here we go. Woods. Genius. Wait, we have to wait till the question's over. Do I? Yeah. Human fingernails are primarily made of a protein known as what? Woods. What? Dermis. Wrong. Lauren. What? Amino acid. Wrong. Mikey. Wow. What, Mike? Cher. I don't know. Cher? Shakira. What is it? I don't know. The answer is keratin. Oh, that's like your hair. We're all wrong. Yeah. Okay. KBZT San Diego. A Lincoln Financial Media Station. The new home of The Mikey Show. FM 94.9. Today's music is all bands that played Coachella. I can't believe De La Soul was there. I didn't know. Jay's picking the music. De La Soul, is that one of your favorites? Yeah, you know it. East Coast, holla holla. Are they? That's a little me, myself, and I. De La Soul. There you go. Jay-Z played. Did you see him? I did. You did? I did. I saw him. How was it? Amazing. It was great. He's amazing. Good stuff. I saw him the next day out in the crowd, too. We walked like 10 feet out from us. And the girls, Maddie's friend, they were like, oh, my God. That's the Jigga, man. It doesn't get bigger than that guy. Was he wearing cool stuff? Guy has his own crayon. One guy had like a sailor cap on or like a captain cap on. It was kind of to the side.
So I shunned him. I didn't even give him the time of day. Of course you did, pal. That's the way I roll. Maybe you could have got him on the show. Yeah. Maybe next time you work a little harder. Excuse me, Mr. Z. Mr. Z. Mr. Z. Hi. How you doing? Jay Isbell, Mikey Show, San Diego. I'm sure you've heard of it. You're Jay. I'm Jay. Let's Jay up. Let's make it right. Yeah. Do you like to do radio interviews still? Let's do some jaywalking. I'm sure you do radio all the time. I'm sure you do radio all the time. Yeah. Let's make this right. I would have asked him. Back to... Yeah, you would have. I would have. Of course. Of course. Let's get back to third... These are third grade questions? Yes. I don't know any of them. I know. For centuries, silk used in clothing has traditionally come from which animal? Caterpillar. Caterpillar. Right. Yeah. Everybody knows that one. We all need that one. Can we... Silkworm, actually. I think that we should be allowed... I think that we should be allowed to... As soon as we know it, we can say our name. Wait, wasn't caterpillar... Isn't it actually a silkworm? That's caterpillar. Yeah. I think you're right, though. Yeah. I think that's a type. She's talking herself out of her own. Ask James Gunn. Yeah. Well, I mean, it depends on which one. There's a moth, you know, and then there's... You guys don't take this serious or not. I'm explaining the difference between a moth and a caterpillar. Maybe you take your night vision goggles off. We can take you seriously. I've had them on so long that if I take them off, then the light affects the sensitivity. Why don't you just leave me alone?
Tom broke off a swallow, Jim. Go. I know. I really didn't pull that beard on me. I'm going to start with that. It's weak. It's a weak beard, man. Woods has some lotion here. Of course he does. Why don't you rub it on your skin? About a 46, right? Wow. Mikey, you're about a 57, right? Hey, Mikey. You're about a 63. He's taking a gusher, relegating kills Pepper. Just kills her. Okay, guys, get ready for this next one. Go ahead. On which planet would a person weigh the most? Lauren. Mikey. Lauren. Nope. Mikey. Earth. No. Hold on. Really? Your anus. Hey, Jake. The answer is Jupiter. Of course. Duh. What does an...
Anemometer measure. Woods. What? Mikey. What? Light. No. Lauren. The speed of wind. Yes. Oh, my God. Which of the following is an acronym? Woods is probably going to get this. Lemon, lime, biannually, or scuba? Lauren. Scuba. Scuba. Yep. Who knows what that acronym is, though? It's scientific. No, I'm just kidding. Scientific cubbies. Unavailable. Barley. Underwater breathing apparatus. I know that last part. In Fahrenheit, what is the approximate temperature of the sun's surface? Wait, you're not going to tell us what the acronym for SCUBA is? They don't have it. They don't say it? No, it just says that SCUBA is the answer. I'm sure an M1 is going to call. Submerged. Two seconds. Submerged. Submerged apparatus. Submerged. Cat. Cup.
Underwater breathing apparatus. Underwater breathing apparatus. There you go. What is the name for the process by which, you guys might get this one, by which plants make their own. Mikey. You have to wait for the question. No, he changed the rules. You didn't hear? Yeah, he did. Yeah, yeah. I said you get to interrupt. It's like a buzzer. You know the old Jeopardy, you can hit the thing right when it started. Oh, you can't anymore? No, you got to wait for the question. Do I get to answer? Yeah, you got it right. Photosynthesis? Yeah. Very good. It's the only one I'll know. How come you only get the dinger for yourself? I've been buzzing you when you've been getting them wrong. Yeah, you've been dinging me. There you go. Okay. Jeez. I'm trying to open another sheet of them right now. They're hard. Okay. In Fahrenheit, what is the approximate temperature of the sun's surface? Approximate. I will give you multiple choice. One million degrees. I was going to say that. 35 million degrees or 10,000 degrees. Mikey. What? 10,000. Yes. The other one seemed too high. I was going to say a million, but I was doing it as a bit. I was a bit. How about a trillion? Yeah, how about a gazelle? A group of wolves is called a pack. What do we call a group of lions? Lions. A pride. Get one.
Guys, okay, I need to stop you. You have to wait. What? No, I don't. You don't. I don't have to wait. I said Lauren. I said, what's first? But Lauren. Run the tape back. Oh, oh, oh. I thought she meant you have to wait until the question's being done. No, I said Lauren. You have a baby voice. I believed before I said what. You have a baby voice. You got to jump in there. You can't. Lauren. Lauren. Lauren. You're going to be sorry. It's called a pride. You're going to be sorry once I start mouthing up. It's a pride. It's a pride. A man-made lake created for the purpose of storing water is called what? Woods. A reservoir. You guys are smart. That's a good one, man. You knew that one. I knew that. Which South American country extends farthest east? Woods. What? Really? Chad. Chad. That's the greatest name for a country. Brazil. Brazil. Brazil. Mm-hmm. I'm going to. Oh, I love Brazilians. You guys aren't doing, you're not doing bad, but if you're in third grade, I mean. We'd be failing. We'd have a C. Maybe a D. Maybe a D. I'm the worst. Okay. Which of the following is not an independent country? Iceland, Sri Lanka, or Greenland? Lauren. What? Sri Lanka. Lauren's wrong. Woods. Woods, not an independent country. Sri Lanka. That's what Lauren just said. Mikey. Wait, what? Is that what she said? Mikey.
I think you said Iceland. What, Mike? I said Sri Lanka. Iceland. Oh, my God. Wrong. It's Greenland. Really? Where do they say? Did I really say Sri Lanka after you said it? Yeah. We're not. That's embarrassing. We're not smart. I'm embarrassed. We're not smart. Where does Greenland belong? I'm red. The Strait of Magellan runs through the southern tip of what continent? Oh, I should know that. Oh, it's Spain. No. It's not a continent, buddy. Oh, yeah. What's Europe? North America. No. It's Europe, right? That said Europe. He said Spain. But then she said that's not a continent. Yeah, but Europe is wrong. It's South America. We are dumb. We are all dumb. Die of dumb is a box of hair. Yeah. Ready? What is seven times seven? 49. You didn't say woods. Woods, 49. Didn't say woods. What is an odd number? One, seven, or eight? Lauren. Lauren. Monkey. I said odd. Wait, I gave two odds. I don't know. I told you. I'll never know the odd and even. Give me one more, Sienna. Okay. Let's see. I'm trying to find a hard one. That's... Really? Hey, you put it on T. You know what happens, kid. Kid's getting hit out of the park. That's right. Okay. The President's Challenge, which is a fitness test, requires 10-year-olds to run or walk how far? Lauren.
How far? A mile. Yeah, I didn't even know what that was. Really? Yeah. It's fitness related. That's why I should know. Do you remember having to do the mile in middle school? Oh, dude. Probably the most humiliating thing ever. That's the exact word that came to my mind. Humiliating. Do you remember being 10 and trying to do the fitness challenge with the president? You guys didn't do that? Of course not. I don't know if we did that. Can I ask you guys a music question? No, I want to talk about the mile for a minute. Okay. Do you remember what your time was? We had to run it for the freshman baseball team. During tryouts, we had to run it under, I think it was under nine minutes. And I think I was like 8.54. And it was like the last step in the deal. I'm such an awful runner. I want to say we had like 15 minutes. Maybe 15. I don't know. Mine was brutal. I know I never got it. I remember I walked a full lap. I set the school record. Oh, man. Of course you did. What was your time, Jay? You know, I don't remember. I just remember I was in PE and we were doing the fitness thing. And I went out and I started running. And I just got faster and faster. And by the time I ended, the track coach was out there. He's like, okay, you're on the team. That's rad. I won the softball throw at field day. We got a blue ribbon for that. Remember field day? Field day was the best day of the year. Ever.
I won a burrito eating contest two years in a row. Coach put you on the team, didn't he? Yeah, he did. He said, I want that little fat Mexican kid right there on my team. Did you have field day? What was that? It's like one of the last days of school. Everybody goes out to a park, and you have a big picnic, and you sack lunch. But you're dressed as like a country, right? You have to wear the country's colors. No. No, we didn't do that. I did that. We had, it was like an Olympic Games for little kids, remember? Yeah, it was an Olympic Games for elementary school. And you win the blue ribbons and stuff. Yeah, you wear your country's color. No, we didn't do country's color. They gave ribbons for participation. That was a weak bit. This was me. This was me. Going to people's lunches. This was me 18. 18 minutes. This is me 18 minutes after starting the mile. You would do like the 50-yard dash. Mike, you spent field day on the bus. What does he got in his lunch? Probably wasn't going to eat this. Probably wasn't going to have this fruit roll-up. Oh, fruit roll-ups are the best. He's sitting on the bus talking to the bus driver all day. So, Phil.
Interviewing him for your fake radio. How's the family feel? Good, but you probably should stop eating that kid's peanut butter. It's okay. Hey, so, is Steven going to SC or what's going on? Hey, don't you want to go play with the other kids? No. You always try to win a ribbon? I'm fine. Hey, did your wife ever get that grant? Oh my gosh, stop it. I love it. Your kid's still trying to get into SC, huh? Why don't you go play? I don't want to. Are you going to finish that? It's like it's my pen. I know. I just, you know, you're not going to finish it. That's classic. I'm still on. Let's see. Man, we're getting a lot of text messages about people digging Jay's picks today. Yeah. For the music.
It's all music from Coachella. It's Topper. Back from Coachella. Topper's the 39-year-old guy that comes in here that still has a MySpace page. I'm 39 and a half. How old are you, dude? 39 and a half, dude. You know that. Really? Topper wears his baseball cap to the side. And in his MySpace picture, he's got his shirt off and his nipples are pierced. It's me taking a picture of my cell phone in my mirror. In the mirror. It's sharp, dude. And my nipples pierced. It's repulsive. Frosted tips. Bloody gross. You could see his boxer shorts underneath his pants that are hanging long. But he's 39. Did you see me at Coachella, dude? I didn't. I missed you. We played, man. My band played. Really? Yeah, my band played. Name me a band. The DBs, man. Oh, they're dish bags.
No, dude. Everybody says that, man. Everybody says, dude, dude, that's not cool, man. That is not cool, dude. It stands for the double barrels, man. Really? Everybody says that, dude. I don't know why. I don't know why. Dude, I'm in a band with Bryce from Smash Mouth. You probably know him. And then Kevin from Crazy Town. Really? We got together, dude. Those bands? Crazy Town? I play bass, and I'm the manager, dude. It's pretty rad. Yeah. It's pretty rad. Yeah, I say guys that play the bass, man. It's really an extension of their manhood. Is that right? If you know what I mean. You know, Pepper. You know what I'm talking about. I don't. You know. What does that even mean? You pull your pants up, Topper. Your pants are low. Yeah. You're 39, bro, and your Calvin Clines are hanging low. You don't worry about my Calvin Clines. All right. They did the trick. They did the trick. We played Coachella, and you guys probably don't know this. They named Coachella after my grandmother. They did? Yeah, Coachella. My grandmother's name was Ella. Fitzgerald. Ella Fitzgerald. Really? Really? Coachella. Really? Yeah. Your grandmother's Ella Fitzgerald. Yeah. I thought Coachella was named after the area where it is, Coachella Valley. Yeah. Isn't that why it's named that? Ella Fitzgerald, black lady? Dude, I'm part black. Really? The lower part. You know that, dude. You know that, bro. You know that, dude. Can you take your sunglasses off, by the way? You know that, dude. Hold on, yeah. Yeah, why are you wearing sunglasses in here?
What is that that you're cleaning your sunglasses with? It's Megan Fox's bra. That's the stupidest. Yeah, I met her in Coachella, dude. That's the stupidest thing. That's the stupidest thing. Hang on. My phone's ringing. My phone's ringing. Every phone's ringing. Shut up, guys. It's John Gosselin. What up, bro? It's John Gosselin. Of course they'd be hanging out. Dude, she's unreal. He should be in the DBs. She's draining you, dude. Really? Think of your eight little kids around here. Oh, wow. Hey, bro. Pick me up. Pick me up. We'll go down to Ensenada. We'll eat some Coronas, dude. Eat some Coronas. I'm pretty sure it's a drink, buddy. Did you just call him Johnser? Get off the phone. Get off the phone. Topper. We're on the air, dude. Topper, get off the phone. Get off the phone. Don't let him talk to you like that. I'll call you back, Goose. You call him Goose and Johnser? Yeah. Really? Wow. Oh, my gosh. Dude, Coachella was so rad. Have you met his kids? Yeah, dude, of course I have. I hate how... They're friends. They're friends. Okay. I hate how Topper kind of pooches his belly out. As he talks to you, he arches his back. And he rubs his, like... And he, like, rubs his stomach. Abs. What are you doing? What is that? My piercing. My tongue piercing. That's so gross. Don't play with that. Oh, that's... Ew. You're spitting everywhere. You're 39, bro.
Topper. Ew, I can't. That is so annoying to hear. Topper. Topper. Topper. What's up, bro? Don't do that. That's annoying. Jay. Yes. Hey, where'd you stay, dude, when you were in Indio? Crashed in Palm Springs with some friends. Yeah, where'd you? Did you have, like, a bed? Did you have a bedroom? No, we were flooring it. Dude, next year? I got buddies, man, that they work for 3Build. Man, we're going to make you guys. We're going to build you guys your own Coachella path. Really? Yeah. Talk to the Mikey show, dude. I don't want to. You're going to build us. You're going to build it. I'm in. You're going, dude. For a concert. We're going to build it for you. I got my bros, man. They'll take care of you guys. Okay. You say that all the time, but then you never, ever produce. Like, you said that you could get us floor, you know. Laker tickets. Laker tickets. Go, go, dude. They're friends. Kobe's your friend, man. You say that. All you got to do is let me know. Well, we've let you know every time. All you got to do is let me know. Three times now. Letting you know. Stop. We want to go. Stop. Don't do the tongue piercing. That's all you got to do, dude. Stop her. Hold on. You're just calling me. Don't answer it. Get off the phone. Can we kick him out? Get out, Topper. Your time's up. Beat it. Oh, really? John Gosselin's going to be meeting you downstairs. Have a good time. You're an idiot. I feel filthy whenever he's here. This is disgusting. He comes in and it smells like cigarette smoke and a vague scent of malt alcohol.
And, like, Jakar or something. And Jakar. Yeah. I think he's pretty sharp. Do you? Yeah. Really? You think Topper still rocks the Jakar? 100%. 100%. 100%. That he still rocks the Jakar. Tell us, Sienna, tell us about this story. That happened in Britain, right? Yeah. What happened? This English woman gets really, really bad migraines. And if you've ever had a migraine, you're not going to argue when you know it's bad. And apparently she got them so much that she got one that was really bad just last week that she had to call 911. Ambulance comes to her house, takes her to the hospital. She wakes up in the hospital and is speaking with a Chinese accent. No way. Yes. Come on. No, it's all because of the migraine. She said it actually has a name. What is the name of it? I'm trying to find it. It's called foreign accent syndrome, a rare condition. A rare condition that damages a part of the brain that controls speech and word configuration. So this woman from England gets migrained so bad that now, and she can't stop the accent now. Her family can't recognize her voice. They hang up on her because they think it's a prank caller. This is true. I wonder what.
the 911 call might have sounded like when that went down. Good morning, emergency services. Oh, maybe it's a good morning for you, but I... What is the matter, my dear? Oh, it's ringing. Oh, I don't know what to do. I can't believe you're calling 911 for a headache. Oh, it's worse than a headache. It's like a freight train going through the middle of my... Well, what can I do for you, my dear? Well, I'm just thinking that I... Oh, good heavens. Hello? Hello? Hello? Yes, hello. This is emergency services. I was speaking to a young British girl. Would you please put her back on the phone? This is her talking to you now. I'm very confused this morning. I was speaking to, I believe that she said her name was Sarah, or maybe she didn't. That's right. This is Sarah. This is very confusing.
confusing for me too. Can you help me? I would love to help the young British lady that I just spoke to. This is the same lady. I am very confused this morning. I'm sorry for your confusion, but I'm confused too. So, if you can, send someone down here. To help me out. Am I being pranked, Cole? No, you're not. Can you send someone quickly? Can I send someone creepy? No. Can you send someone quickly? Creepy? Yeah, quickly. I think I shall send my supervisor to see what is going on down there. Okay. Well, thank you very much, and I will send somebody right away. Have a nice day. You too.
Crazy. Quickery. Quickery. Oh, my God. Oh, you're dead. Oh, it's wrong. It's wrong. Wow. It's wrong. Wow, wow, wow. 5701-949's the number. That was not right. 949mikie at gmail.com. She woke up. She had a... Different. Different accent. I had a Chinese accent. What are you going to do? Amazing. Amazing. Oh, wow. Sunny Day Real Estate played at Coachella. Song's called Seven. Jay's picking the music today. Indoor tanning has been linked to something. What is it, dude? Tell me now. Frankie, yeah. Don't worry about it. No, dude, I need to know right now. What's it been linked to, man? You have to wait and find out. Link to the Mikey Show. The Mikey Show.

And now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. If I like rock music and you bring up Hinder, the Hinder card, I can't go any further. Woods. I don't admit very often when I'm wrong. Lauren. I like looking at boobs. Sienna. I can hit some mean wiffle balls in our yard. And Jay. I can make 100 hush puppies in like 30 seconds. On FM 94.9. MGMT. What's he interviewing? I did. I did. At Coachella. Today the theme is Coachella songs. A little punks, but I like them. Yeah, you got after them. They got after me, too. You gave it back. That's right. They gave you a little. You gave it back. Smart kids, man. That's what they used to say about me and my brothers. They never said that one time. Those damn kids. Yeah. That's right. Those damn Esparzas. Mm-hmm. Burning down our fences. That was just me. Oh. And then running over to the neighbor's house to ask them to help me put it out with a hose.
I haven't given anything this evening. Nobody make a picture of Mikey running away from a burning fence. My four-inch legs just peddling me along as fast as they would go. Four inches. Will you talk about the tanning bed, dude? He's freaking out. He's been freaking out the whole break. I know. What tanning bed? He's been chewing his nails. 94.9. Welcome to the Mikey Show. We're on 6 to 10 Monday through Friday. What tanning bed? Oh, my gosh. Really? Do you see Mikey's lives leaving his body? We have a new bit of the show. Like an octopus hand leaving my head. It's a spirit. And he does it to me about 70 times a day in our meeting. Because I'm really crass in our meeting. And his spirit leaves his body. He does this thing now where he does it and he'll say it. And he looks right into my eyes. Right into my dead lights. I'm like, did I get you?
Did I get you? Remember, we were saying that tanning beds have been linked to something. Lauren's looking at me like, on which show? Which show said that? And then Frankie started talking about tanning. Hello. Sorry. McFly. I was going over some notes. Hello, McFly. McFly? Okay, Frankie, you want me to tell you now? Yes! Okay, clump. Don't cry. Take it easy, bro. Don't cry again. Okay, well, research. Wow. Frankie, I love you. Sorry, Frankie. Okay, researchers. You're not doing it fast enough. What has it been linked to? Well, stop crying and then I'll get to it. All right. Are you done, Sally? We're done. Hurry. Researchers polled. Faster. Researchers polled more than 400 undergraduate students between the ages of 18 to 25 and asked them if they.
go to tanning beds. More than half of them said yes. And then they did other studies and found out that they also, like the 99% of the half that go to tanning beds also drink alcohol a lot. Really? Shocker. And consume marijuana. Weird. And they're just as likely to experience anxiety if they don't go to the tanning beds regularly. Oh yeah. So indoor tanning has been linked to addictive behaviors and people are saying that people have become addicted to it. I'm addicted to it, man. I'll tell you right now. Maybe not surprised. We can tell. You're orange. It's called addicted to being hot. And yes, I am. But let me tell you something. There ain't one lady in PB complaining about it. There's literally not one lady in PB complaining about it. No, I'm not complaining, Frankie boy. Don't do it. Come here, yo. Don't touch me. We're going to go tan it. DCL, baby. DCL. Chin tan laundry. Please don't touch me. Let me get your abs. Don't do my laundry. No. Don't tan me. I ain't going to do your laundry. You clean it up real good. I don't like when you touch me. That's what she said. Frankie, when you tan, do you experience relaxation and increased socialization and improved moods? What? Ask her not to touch me, please. Why don't you ask me, Frankie? I don't like it. I don't like it. Frankie. You love it. You don't like it. You love it.
She's cute. Cute girl tickling you right now. It's a cute girl tickling you. I got a feather. Don't. Uh-oh. A feather? Don't touch my fanny. Yeah. I got a baseball bat. So, Frankie, you hear us? Frankie, why are you wearing a fanny pack? That's weird. My chapstick in there, man. Tanning lotion. That is weird. I got my SPF titty. Don't. She's screaming like a girl. She likes it. So exposure to the UV light is the reason that you experience relaxation, increased socialization, and improved moods. So there are tests that prove that. It's crazy addiction. Yeah, you know what else they proved in the test? What? People that go in tanning beds also like Bottles and James. Guilty. Wine coolers. Guilty. It's a big deal. I like them. Really? Listen, Frank. Maybe you stop staying out of tanning beds a little bit more and Woods will start hanging out with you a little bit more. No kidding. I don't want to be the guy walking on the beach with the orange guy. I know. Dude, you really hurt my feelings the other day. You called me an Oompa Loompa. Yeah, you're orange. Oompa Loompa. You're like Garfield. That's right. Orange. It's orange. Hey, yesterday I put up as a topic on our fan page on Facebook.
You go to Facebook.com. You search The Mikey Show. You can find our page. We've got 7,800 listeners. We need to get to eight. Now we're close. Be our fan. Be our fan. But I asked the question, what's the worst haircut you had back in the day? Lauren had a bad one. Oh, yeah. The mullet. Learn how to mullet. That'll do it. Does anything get worse for a girl? Have we not seen a picture of that yet? We have. We have. Well, people have photoshopped it. Right. No, not a real one. Not a real one. We should have asked her mom. If you've never seen Lauren, first of all, you can if you go to MikeyShow.com, but she's a very pretty blonde girl. Yep. Is she? Really? That's a pretty girl. She's a pretty girl, and she used to wear, she used to have a mullet. That's putrid. How old? 11-ish. Yeah. How come? Um, cause it was like when the layered haircut was cool and my mom took me to get a cheap haircut and she was like, yeah, give her that new layered look. So you were 11 in 1971.
What do you mean? No, no, no. No, right? No, it was supposed to be. Oh, yeah. I think like the Rachel haircut maybe. I don't know. I think your mom was thinking back to when she. When she, when it was cool. When it was cool. When she was a kid. Oh, man. But it was like right when, or maybe I was even old. Yeah, no, I think I was 11. It was like right when my hair was like starting to change. That's what happens. You know, you get out of that like baby fine hair stage. And all of a sudden it gets a little crazy. And so I would go like run around and be like a tomboy. And then it would. Like throw it at the top and then be all like slicked down by my neck. Lauren, please find pictures. Please. Please. You know what? Let me tell you something. If I had remembered, I would have asked Joanne. I asked her. She's like cracking up. She says no. I remember that haircut. It was the worst. She says there's no pictures of it? No. I may have you beat. There's no pictures of me from like 4 to 18. Really? I don't know. Me too. I might have you beat. What? I had three that I'm really embarrassed of. My mom had me in a Dutch boy when I was a little kid. What's that? I had red hair. You had red hair? I did. I'll make sure that they bring pictures when they come visit. But I had reddish hair, and it went down and flipped on either side. What? That was cool, though, for a little bit. I did. Dude, I have to see that. Oh, yeah. Wait, wait, question. How did they get the flip? I don't know. Curling iron? Maybe. No, it's just a natural body wave.
There's a certain point where it'll flip up and then, you know, it has to be short enough. They didn't have to do it like with a blow dryer and a round brush? Some people. I was a little sharp kid though. Then I had the Boz. Anybody remember Brian Bosworth? Linebacker for the Oklahoma Sooners. Hideous. See if I can find it. It was a mullet. Is this in high school? But it was a hideous mullet. It was in, here it is. That is my hair when I was a little kid. Hold on. Yes, I did have lines. It's a flat top. I did have lines in the side of my head. It was a flat top, but it was also a mullet? It was kind of mullet-ish. Yeah. Like Hulk Hogan or something. Yeah, it was bad. And then in middle school, I had the swoop in high school. The swoop. What's a swoop? No, you didn't. Over the eye? Not over the eye, but it was down, and then we would put our hats on top. We'd style our hair, then we'd lay our hats on top. Like David Silver, like 90210. Yeah. David Silver. And I had an earring, so I looked exactly like it. And I wasn't 700 pounds like I am now. M1 Adam, I think, on our Facebook page, had the worst one. What was it? Really? He says, junior high, 1990, when Public Enemy was big. Oh, boy. I had a kind of like a flat top. And in the back of my noggin, I had the words, yeah, boy, shaved. Oh.
Like Flavor Flav. Yeah, boy. Yeah, boy. He did not. How about that? He had yeah, boy shaved into the back of his head. That's you? That's me. What, what? Can I come around? Yeah, I'm coming around. I'm coming around. Oh, my God. Look at the hair styled. Which one? Right here. Hairstyled, hat on top. It doesn't even look like you. How old were you? That's probably ninth grade. Why are you kissing that boy? That's my boy Fenwick. Wow. Oops. How come you were kissing Fenwick? That doesn't mean it's okay. I don't know. I wasn't kissing him on the mouth. No. We were probably drunk. Kissing his ear. We were probably drunk. We were probably drunk. Oh, my gosh. Are you 12? Check out the suspenders. Oh, my gosh. That's you. That's me. Skinny Michael Chan. That's me and Fenwick. Wait, that's you? That's me on the right with the glasses and the paisley tie and the pink shirt with suspenders. That doesn't look like you. All the stuff that you're hearing right now, we will post you. Will we? Of course we will. No, we won't. Yeah, repost that on your Facebook page. Zero percent. It's on Facebook. It's on Facebook. You can go find it. I'm not reposting it. Also, he just went to a picture of three of his dogs wearing pink shirts. That's fantastic. Call us right now. 5701949. What's the worst haircut you ever had? You want to enlighten some people on your hair? Yeah, I'm wearing it now. No. You know what you did. You know what you had. And I want to hear all about it. If anybody's ever seen the movie Coming to America. I had a perm.
Soul Glow? Pretty much. I didn't know the guys got perms. How long was it, Mike? I remember the multicolored curlers that they put in. Some were purple curlers, some were red curlers. Nobody made that picture either. They had to use the different size curlers so that it would... This is what I remember. Here's what I remember. I didn't want... A perm. I wanted a body wave. That's what it's called. A body wave. And it came out curly. Because the person that was doing it, of course, didn't know what they were doing. You wanted a body wave. I wanted a body wave. Did you have a crust ash? What's a crust ash?
Really? I don't know. So you wanted to look like Hall & Oates. Yeah, he did. Yes. That's what you wanted to look like. Mike, it's the mustache that hasn't fully developed. Yeah. So it looks like crust. That's Hall & Oates. You just call it a crust. Absolutely. And you had a crust with a perm. Absolutely. Did you drive a van? He drove a Mustang, and you know that. You drove a van. I drove a beat-up little Toyota pickup. You drove a van with curtains in the window. That doesn't fit the image. Does not fit the image. It was awful. Dudes don't get perms, pal. Yeah. This fat dude did. It was like mullet curly. Did it touch your neck or did it go up like Ronald McDonald? Please bring in a picture. I look like a Mexican pervert. Tell me though. Did it go down and touch your neck or was it up like Ronald McDonald? It was like a mullet. Do you have pictures? Like a mullet. You guys find these pictures? Maybe. You know what? Maybe in one of my yearbooks. And I think I do have a couple of yearbooks. So I might. Nobody should Photoshop a picture of Woods and Mikey as Hall and Oates. With my swoop and his perm. It was the worst. It was the absolute worst ever. It sounds like the best ever. It does. It's genius. There's nothing bad about it. How about you, Sienna?
I'm just now trying to think of, I don't know who Hall & Oates is. Really? No idea. I'm like, ha, ha, ha. Do you know who Hall & Oates is? Hall & Oates. No. She's a rich girl. What about, oh, here she comes. Oh, I know that. Watch out. She's like, let's see Incorporated her song. Yeah. No, it was from Runaway Bride. Yeah. With Julia Roberts. Man-eating her. I had, like, the wannabe Rachel. Oh, the bob, yes. But I was too young, and so I didn't style my hair, so it just looked choppy and weird. Did you ever get, like, a really short, like, boy haircut? When I was in kindergarten, I did. My mom dropped me off and told the girl what she wanted my hair to look like, and it was going to be, like, shoulder length when I was about to start kindergarten. So it was a big deal. It was a big haircut. First big day of school. My mom came back to pick me up. And I had a boy's haircut. Short, above my ears, a boy haircut. My mom cried. And I was such a tomboy that I loved it. I was like, this is great. Mom, I love this haircut. My mom is so upset. What time do we leave? That's why you don't drop off your five-year-old. What time is the driver coming to take me to Kindergarten? I'm ready to go. Haul and outs.
Let's really get better than Hall & Oates. It's genius. It's good, but I want to know what they look like. Oh, repugnant. You know what else I had? What? You know what? This is Hall & Oates. Sarah. Oh, please. That is good to Mikey. Yeah. Mikey. That's Mikey. Yeah, that's me with a big bushy mustache. Oh, my gosh. It does. It actually does. It does look like us. Can we be in them for Halloween? Yeah. It used to be Hall & Oates. It used to be going to look funny. I'm going to look normal. Yeah. No. There you have. You can rely. That's the worst. That's the worst I would look like. Oh, man. 570-1949. Give us a call right now. I had a Nicholas haircut. Nicholas, eight is enough. Bull. Yeah, bull. Giant bull. Bull. Straight hair. My brother had a bull and a half. So. The bull was cool for a while. Bull was cool. Bulls are back. M1 Eric? Yeah. You there, Eric? They are. Eric? Eric. Oh, sorry. Go ahead, Eric. Sorry. I had a bowl cut. Shares on the sides. Hardcore bowl cut. Worst part about it, cat look in the back, so I had an alfalfa part sticking up. Oh, dude. How old were you? Man, this was sixth grade. I had a bowl cut.
With the shaved sides is the worst. It's like when you start getting girlfriends. The bowl cut and alfalfa parts sticking up in the back. Wait, how do you have a bowl cut and have it shaved on the side? You have a bowl and then you shave around the side. So it's shaved. So the bowl stops here and it's shaved. It's repulsive. I think I have that too. The worst is the Brooklyn fade. What's that? There's no worse haircut than a Brooklyn fade. What is it? The top, it's like your skull has hair and the rest of it's shaved. All, like, all the way around. That sounds like Little Rascals or something. Google Brooklyn Fade. M1 Jason. Hey, what's going on, Mikey Show? What'd you have, dude? Well, I was in junior high in the early 90s. Yeah. So I was a skater, so I had my left head shaved. Yep. And I had my right side coming down, swooping over across my eye. So literally, my right eye was totally covered. That's awesome. And then, like, the back was kind of shaved a little bit. But one more thing. If you guys want to see an awesome haircut. Yeah. Watch, um, what's it? It's on, uh, it's, it's, uh, he's a exterminator. He's an exterminator, and he has, like, a frosted mullet. Oh, that's the best. M1 Beth. That's awful. Beth, are you there? It's Lisa. Hi, Lisa. What up, Lisa? Hi. Go ahead. It's got, um, like a flock of seagull haircuts. No way.
I have a dog that has a flack of seagull haircut. There's a dog out on my dogs. It was so bad. I don't remember girls having flack of seagull haircuts. Really? I do. They were like the cool girls. Jay dated them. I did. I did. I dated them. Oh, wait. Yeah, I do remember. They were badass. Yep, Pam. My friend Pam in high school, my friend Pam had it. And yeah, they were real cool chicks. You couldn't pull it off unless you were like cool. Super cool. Yeah. It's the worst haircut ever. Pam Allen, Gilroy High School, 1988. Thank you. My friend Mike had a, he called it a bihawk because it was two mohawks. It was like, you know, just very recently. And he did it to be funny, to drive his fiance crazy. He had a full head of hair and he wanted to shave it for the summer. So a little in-between period, about a week or so, he shaved everything except, instead of just one mohawk going down the middle, it was just... Two in spikes? No, they just flopped around. Oh, gross. Like, comb-overs. Oh, they were so, so bad. If the Irish beat SC this year, I'm going to have a mohawk. You already have one. You're laying that down right now? Yeah. If the Irish beat SC. I'll have a mohawk. Oh, that's. For a week. Will you dye it, like, blue and yellow? No, I'm not going to dye it either. I'm not an idiot. I'm not going to dye it. If SC, if SC wins, because my brother went to SC. Yeah, you're a big fan, I know. A little closet SC fan. Yeah, I didn't say anything because I didn't want to get killed. Yeah, great.
Okay, but now that since we've laid down the gauntlet. He has to wear a Trojan outfit to work. If SC wins, I'll grow a mohawk. Done. No, you won't. I will. I'll grow straight down the middle. I'll grow a mohawk. Done. Yeah. Don't you need to call your wife and check in? Really? Yeah. Shouldn't it be the opposite, you guys? Shouldn't it be if your team loses, you have to do this? No, I want to. Because I'm stoked. Yeah, shouldn't it be if the team... No. I want you guys to have mustaches. Yeah, Rebecca said she ain't having any part of that. Jamie, she'd let me grow a mustache. Do it. I'm telling you. Mike does a mohawk. You do a mustache. Hey, I'm telling you, you will never be more creeped out than to see me with a mustache, ever. I already saw it. No, you didn't. Yeah, it was a mall cop. Oh, boy. Eject. Paul Blart. Does he really not like that bit? No. He's going to cry. Really? Really? I thought you... It's okay. Oh, Santa's making it worse by rubbing his back. Paul Blart. It's okay. Really? I just got reminded of the worst haircut ever that I had. I forgot about. I had the rat tail. Oh, God. I had the rat tail for years. Did you braid? I was so punk rock. Did you braid it? No, I didn't have to.
There are Mexicans drinking horchata right now going, that is the grossest thing I've ever heard. Jay, a rat tail. I had a rat tail. Let's see. I'm trying to go back. I had a bowl cut from the first haircut I ever had was a bowl cut forever. Jay! Until high school. Exactly. I was from the small town of Texas. Give me a break. A rat tail. And then as an adult, I had my tips highlighted one time by my hairstylist talking me into it. Easy, A-Rod. Yeah. I was fantastic. Frosting the tips were like, it was the coolest thing to do. Question. Wolfgang still does it. That's right. Who was the girl that dated the rat tail guy? Like, what was she like? She was real easy, dude. Really? Yeah. Big boobs, blonde, real easy. And they dated the rat tail guy? Because you know why? Why? She wanted to date me in seventh grade. Yeah. But she dated a ninth grader who had a rat tail who wanted to beat the crap out of me at the bus stop. And his name was Roy Friend. Doesn't sound like a friend to me. Sounds scary. Sounds like James Gum. I used to hide behind the bushes because this dude would come to the junior high looking for me. And he had his rat tail. Dude, I would hide. Of course he had a rat tail. She wanted to date me. And she told him, I like this kid in my own grade. And he's like, I'm not having it. He literally.
He rode bulls. He rode bulls. Roy, friend, and he wanted to kill me. Rat tail guy rode bulls? No, not in my area. We were outrageous. You were a skateboarder, right? We were skateboarders and thugs and spent a lot of time on the streets. Rat tail guy in where I grew up. Yeah, wood. Rat tail guy here in California generally had a last name like Martinez, Gonzalez. I have a friend who has a rat tail now that I think about it. He has one now? Why? Maybe he just got rid of it, but he had it like this year. No, they never get rid of it. Jay, you know Sonic. Oh, yeah, I know Sonic. He's got a little rat tail. The dude from the other station? Yeah. He had a rat tail? No. Yeah. It was hard to give up at the time. I thought, I can't believe I'm going to cut this off. That's shocking. Man. It looked cool on him. He did. He did. Wow, man. M1 truck driver. What's up, Mikey? What's going on? Hey, not much. So the year is 1979. Oh, boy. Oh, no. You had a white suit? Oh, no.
Sport coat. You monster. You monster. Oh, my gosh. Do you have a picture? With a perm. Please. I have to go to my mother's and try to get it. Dude, I don't even know you. I'll pay your gas. I don't even know you and I want to see it. That is such a Hall and Oates right there. Please, please, please, truck driver. I want to see it so bad. I had a white jacket and a leather tie. And it goes from the perm. to part it down the middle with Sun In in my hair for highlights. Sun In. Sun In. Do you remember it? Sun In. Oh, yeah. I tried lemon juice, too. Yeah, lemon juice. I was just going to say, for those of us who couldn't afford Sun In. Lemon juice works, you guys. I know it did. There's nothing ghetto about that. It just looked real ghetto. You can bathe in it, too. Yeah. It makes your hair orange. Yeah. Sun In does, for sure. Sun In. That was hardcore, man. That is hardcore. Thank you. Oh, my gosh. You know, We haven't been through. We're not in a hideous fashion age. Oh, dude. Yes. You think we are now? Yes. Yes. Because I think the 80s was hideous. Go to Coachella. Good Lord. Really? Yes. Give me an example. Skinny jeans. Skinny bleens. Now, that's true. But that's like a subculture thing, I think. Go to Coachella. 80,000 strong in bleens. Really? Yes. Black jeans. Black skinny jeans. Oh, yeah. Finn wears them. That's super skinny. I like them on guys.
Yeah. What about guys when they're wearing them and their gut and mushroom is pouring over the side? Yeah, you know how I feel about skinny jeans. You don't like them, right? They're the worst. Lauren, you hate them. I don't disagree. I mean, I only say it because I can't wear them. Certain looks, like I do not like them. I would never wear them. I would never have my husband. What if Todd wore them? He would never. I would be disgusted. But if you're like an artsy, like you have a cool personality and you like. dress up what you're wearing with the skinny jeans. And you're a vampire from Portland. It looks good. And if you're in Kings of Leon, then it's okay. But other than that... Wow. If you play music, you can pull it off. This is... This is Corrine... Corrine Bae-Raley? Yeah, that's what I was saying. Corrine Bae-Raley. I'm imagining Jay driving in his truck right now listening to this by himself. I know, me too. Yeah, Jay picked the music. All bands have played Coachella. I like it, Jay. I know, it's surprising, I know. It's great. I love Corinne Bailey Ray. Big smile on his face, playing with his rat tail.

and FM 94.9. KBCT San Diego Financial Media Station, the new home of The Mikey Show. This is FM 94.9. They are good. They did a live acoustic set at our house at Coachella. Phenomenal. Phenomenal. I bet it was good. It was real good. Real good. That's good. I like it a lot. Me too. You should hear their other one. I do want to. You're going to tomorrow or Thursday. All right. A little bit later, we're going to hear new releases. Yes. That's a good one. There's a good one coming out today. There's a real good one. Just want to let you know who's on the show. Five people on the show. I'm the host of the program. My name is Mikey. And wearing a button-down shirt today. Beautiful. With a tree branch on it. Really? Mm-hmm. Looks like it would be from Banana Republic. It looks like my bed comforter on my bed. It does? Yeah.
tree branch on it. Is it from Banana Republic? Really? Is it not? That's a tree branch with leaves on it. Yeah, I like it. Turns out it is. It's great. It's nice. Don't be shamed out of it. No, I like it. I like it too. It's real sharp. I know my boy, alright? I know what he's doing over there. Yeah, you know. You know that. And then we also have the kid. He's a guy sitting across from me right now. That's right. His name is Stephen Woods. A man child. That's right. He's my friend. And then we have the lovely Lauren O'Brien. She is also known as Pepper. Pepper, Pepper, Pepper. Because she gets imaginary pepper in her teeth. It was real. You've never seen it. We've seen it. We did see it. We've seen it now. On the air. On the air. Like numerous times. It was kombucha though. It was kombucha. No, you're good. Sienna. is our news girl. And she is wearing, what do you call that kind of top? Does it make you uncomfortable? Well, you had your computer up. It looks like I'm naked. It did. You had your computer up like that. It looks like you're sitting there topless. Like you lost a bet. Yeah.
Is that what it's called, a two-top? Yeah, it's a strapless dress. It makes me very uncomfortable. Really? Yeah, because you have to look. I'm a huge fan. You don't have to look. Yeah, you do. You guys, it's hot in here. I kept saying, like, it's hot, it's hot, and I finally had to take off my sweater. You have to look. I got to look. I'm a huge fan. It's okay. I appreciate it. You have to. I appreciate the honesty. I'm a huge fan. I'm a huge fan. I got it. You're going to put them on the tee, dude. What do you think we're going to do? I just got this dress at Old Navy. It's very nice. It's a long, cotton, comfy, strapless dress. Okay. You want to go pick one up? Jay's our producer. Creep. Yep. I'm a creep. Yeah, he is. And he has somebody coming in right now. Yes. Come in. Yeah, you're fine. Entree. Oh, wow. Hello. Hi. You are really. Rock star-ish, aren't you? Hi, Maggie. Oh, wow. Hi. Your name is... My name is... Eskimo, right? That's right. Eskimo Blue... Yep. Waters? Yep. Eskimo Blue Waters. That's quite a name. Lovely name. Yeah, that's right. And a birth name? Yeah. Yeah, actually, it is. Singer-songwriter here in San Diego. Yeah, you're dressed cool. Why don't you describe your outfit? Morocco. Um, well... A cowboy hat.
The best. Like Bret Michaels. Yeah, like Bret Michaels. It's the best. It's appropriate for any rocker. Yeah. I've got several necklaces on. Yeah, you do. Layered up. There are layered necklaces. And these cowboy boots. Yeah, those are cowboy boots for sure. With skinny jeans, which are appropriate for women. Yep. Of course. Yeah. And I don't know. I talked to your producer, Jay, and I know 94.9 is all about the music. That's a lie. I never talked to her. Yeah. It says here that we're having her in, so I just assumed that you booked her. No. She's been standing out in the hallway. With a guitar. With a guitar. It looks like, actually, maybe her handwriting. She's got a guitar here. She's tuning it up. Tuning it up? Yeah. But like I was saying, I know you guys are about the music, except for right now. So anyway. In the mornings, we like to talk. Yeah, we have a talk show in the mornings. I thought you'd be looking for some killer new music. So what's the deal? Are you going to play some music for us? Yeah, you know, I submitted for Coachella, but I didn't get my paperwork in on time. That's why. You didn't get your paperwork in on time. Yeah, no, I didn't. Like Jay-Z did. He sent his paperwork in. He got his paperwork in on time. Yeah, so anyway, I just kind of supplemented. There's a little gig in Chula Vista at the Snow Hut. What is the Snow Hut? I've never even heard of it. It's a snow cone store.
Like a stand? Yeah. You're going to play at the Snow Hut? It's a grand opening, guys. Okay. Yeah. They had old Eskimo Blue Waters playing out there. Of course. It's a nice ring, right? Opening of the Snow Hut. But, yeah. So, you know, I'm a singer-songwriter. Why don't you play music for us? Okay. Well, I'm going to just do this. I write all my lyrics myself. All right. The original piece? Of course. I don't know where my music comes from. It just comes to me. And that's why when you hear my songs, it's like they're instantly recognizable. It's almost like you've heard them before. So what you're saying is your songs are melodic and they just get stuck in your head. Absolutely. I can't wait. Ladies and gentlemen, Eskimo Blue Waters. What's the name of this song? The song is called I Was Made For You. The song is called I Was Made For You. That's right. Instantly familiar. Look at my watch, it's 6 p.m. I don't feel close to where I went. I got my muffins, got my waffles too. I got my salted butter, everything but juice. I crack the eggs and make a happy face. I really like this new apartment space. Is this real? Spots on my window too.
Don't put my keys in the door. Okay, all right. Eskimo. Eskimo. Yes. Eskimo Blue Waters? Yes. You're saying that that's an original piece? Yeah, you like it? Yeah, I liked it better the first time when Jewel sang it and it was called... I was meant for you. What's the name of your song? What's your song called? First of all, it's called I Was Made For You. And I don't even know who Jewel is. Really? I've been living out of my Mustang for a few months. I think she did the same thing. I think she lived in like a van. Yeah, she lived in a van here in San Diego. In San Diego, actually, yeah. Clever. Maybe just let me get to the chorus. Yeah, let me get to the chorus. Dude, a lot of times, you know me, I play music too. A lot of times you start playing something and you're like, I think I've heard that before. She brought in a guitar. You pick it up subconsciously. Is her name Jem? Jewel. Maybe she heard my stuff. I think she said 6am and you said 6pm.
Did anyone else touch that? I see my watch at 6 p.m. I hear the clock at 6 a.m. But let's give her the benefit of the doubt and at least hear the chorus. Let's hear the chorus. We're talking day and night here, guys. You have a beautiful voice. So we're going to pick it up from the chorus? Yeah, pick it up from the chorus. So here we go. Eskimo. Yeah. Are you single? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard in my life. You're trying to say... That's kind of harsh, dude. No, I'm saying... Well, the reason I'm saying it is it's Jewel, man. Like, that's a Jewel song, bro. I don't know who's Jewel. First of all, I don't know who Jewel is. Second of all, bro, I mean, come on. I know I've got a deep voice, but... Yeah, yeah. Nothing wrong with deep voices, right? You're trying to blend in with the station or what, man? You have layered necklaces on. Layered? Yeah.
And cowboy boots and skinny jeans. Looks good. Looks great. Anyway, can I plug my gig or what? Yeah, you can. Kind of why I'm here. Go ahead. Yeah, plug your gig. You know, the snow cone thing is just like, that's what I did instead of Coachella, but I got stuff coming up. Well, because you didn't have the paperwork in on time for Coachella. Yeah, right, right. Where are you playing? I'll be at the Bates Nut Farm. It's out in Valley Center. Hey, wait, wait. Bates Nut Farm? Yeah. Have they heard your music? It's like a fall festival. That's a pretty big show for her. The Nut Festival. It's the next biggest festival. People buy pumpkins, Sienna. For Halloween. You're going to play there. Gearing up now. Also, Mikey, if anyone's interested, I'm doing bar mitzvahs, quinceañeras, prep parties. Frat parties. All next month. Also, SDSU. Virtually the same thing. Quinceañeras, frat parties, and bar mitzvahs. But I'm also playing Benny Hanna's. I love Benny Hanna's. Just a thought, guys. It's all the music. Thanks. Thank you, Asking My Blue Waters. You have a really great voice. We wish you the best of luck. I would try listening to Jewel once or twice. Yeah, and I would, you know, I'd try...
It's a compliment, right? Yeah, for sure. For sure. For sure. Don't let her hear that song. Yeah, yeah, because she might think that you were heavily... Well, I'll run it by my boyfriend, Steve Maltz, and see what he wants to know about it. Didn't Jewel date someone? She dated someone, Steve Paltz. Steve Paltz. Oh, okay. He's been in the studio here. And who tells you their boyfriend's name first and last name? Who does that anyway, really? So she's dating Steve Maltz. Yeah, my boyfriend, Steve Maltz. He's kind of a big deal. What does he do? Well, it's actually crazy because I'm going to be doing a new record with him. You just made up your boyfriend, didn't you? No, no, no. Well, she's that first and last name. He is Paris Hilton's producer's cousin's gardener. That's the stupidest. That's the stupidest name. Steve Maltz. Thanks. Steve Maltz. Remember the name. Yeah. So anyway. Of course. But you guys are great. It's about the music. Remember, Mike? No, I do. Remember. I do. Eskimo Blue Waters. You guys keep on keeping on. I'll be back. Good luck with everything at Nut Farm. Say hello to Bates Nut Farm. It's not cool, Mike. That is cool.
I thought I was very cool. You're making fun of her. I was not. Jay, did you book that guest? Not my fault. I don't know where she came from. Maybe Garrett sent her in. He's got an eye for new talent. He does. Eskimo, I want you to meet somebody. Steve Maltz. Steve Maltz. Let me introduce you to my friend Steve Maltz. Brilliant. Listen to Jay. Jay's recap. This is going to kill you. He says, M1 Ryan and his wife just moved into their new home, and now he has his own workspace in the garage. He wanted to know from me what tools he should purchase right off the bat. Now, I'm going to stop there. The reason that this person wrote Jay is because it's pretty well known on the show that Jay is a bit of a fix-it guy. A bit. Tim the Toolman Taylor. Yeah. That's what I do. Dude can slay fixing things. He says... Okay, what does that even mean?
A dude can slay fixing things. I want that on a t-shirt. Don't anybody Photoshop a t-shirt on Jay that says, I can slay fixing things. I can slay fixing things. Jay says, here is what I think. He says, he wanted to know what things to purchase right off the bat. Here's what I think would be a good place to start. He also wants to start taking the family camping, so I put together a startup list for camping as well. Really, dude? This is just a starting place. You'll always need more tools and more camping gear. I need all of this. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I have none of it. Here's Jay's list. Wait, okay, hold on. Yeah, yeah. Okay, so let me get this right. Quick little list. One of them is like a list of things that you should have in your garage. Yeah, right. Just kind of start and fix it. Okay. Things you need camping. And then you guys, Mikey and Woods, you'll let us know if you have these things? Yeah. Yes. Good idea, Sienna. All right. Just want to throw that out there. For sure. Can you just run it down on... You get it, by the way. Sorry, Somonix. Here's the deal. Sorry, Dad. Here's some of the items that he... You sleepy? It said in his list... Go ahead and read the list, Shorty. Are we talking about like the seven dwarves here? What? My bad. Hi, I never yawn. Hi, I never yawn. I like you. Perfect.
Stop fighting, children. Let's get to the list. Jay worked really hard on it, I'm sure. Listen. So hard. It's a short little list. Did you make it, Mikey? Really? I knew that. Why did I do that one? Coming. Mikey. That's good. These are some things that Jay thinks that you need to have in your garage. Okay. Duct tape, a skill saw, a square, post hole dagger, square headed shovel, adjustment wrench, hacksaw, drill, sledgehammer, flat and Phillips head screwdriver, knife, tape measure, flashlight, needle nails, pliers, sledgehammer, hammer, Allen wrenches, extension cords, safety glasses, drill bits. Sounds about right. Wow. Mike, you probably have a level on your iPhone. Maybe that's it. I do. Do you have duct tape on your iPad? I do not. Duct tape is a must. He thinks anything. That is a must. I don't have any of those. You don't have duct tape? Nope. You don't have a garage. True. Things you need when camping. True. Okay. Tent, sleeping bag, mess kit. Mess kit. What's a mess kit? It's like just silverware. It's what you poop in. No, it's what you poop in. No, it's not. Yes, it is. It's where you go to the bathroom. You poop in the dirt. You poop in my mess kit, we got troubles. The mess kit.
Small shovel, flashlight, camping chair, first aid kit, map and compass, bug repellent, water purification system, axe, deodorant spray? Yeah, axe body spray. Yeah, you got to smell good in the forest. Large water container, stove, stove. How about a refrigerator then? Why don't we just throw it all in? Can I bring my house? Yeah. How about a convection oven? How about a left wing? Lighter, duct tape, again with a duct tape, food. Oh, that's a good one. I like that one. pocket knife, rain gear, and a whistle. Yeah, in case of emergency. Rape whistle, yes, you need that. Yeah, in case the bears. Bear whistle. Bear whistle. Could I get a coyote whistle? Does it scare them? I think they like the whistle. Bear, no means no. Yeah, seriously. It's like deliverance out there if you blow the whistle. Don't you all feel safer just knowing, Jack? Yes, I do. You should, like, I...
I want to become a pretty good surfer, but that would actually entail me standing up on my board at some point. You can do it. What is that? But with Jay, I feel safe when I'm out in the water. If it's just me and you out there, I'm like, we're dead. Yeah, I know. We're dead. We're dead. I know it. You guys drifted away. And I felt like Tom Hanks with a volleyball by myself. I know. I heard that you paddled out. We never talked about that either, how crazy it was. I really got scared. Well, you should have been scared. You were out in the water by yourself? I felt like a big, fat shark appetizer. I was in a black wetsuit. I'm like, every time I kick my legs, I'm like, I'm a seal. I'm a seal. Eat me. Yeah. And I thought that they could tell the density and the sharks would be like. This is a big, big feast. Shut up. It's like Thanksgiving. Yeah. It's a cornucopia spilling out of a little lecture. Well, me and you together is quite a feast. Yeah. You guys are insane, first off. So Woods has gone a couple more times than Mikey. So we had taken the leashes off the surfboards, and I finally gave Woods back his leash and said, okay, here we go. Which is the worst thing ever. You could paddle out. Get on your board. This time you're paddling out through the waves. They were small enough. And Mikey, I left his leash off, and I was going to leave him on the inside in the white water just kind of playing.
Poor Jay. We paddle out. I got woods and I'm thinking, okay, Mikey's just going to stay inside and jump up on his board and stay in, you know, waist deep water. We get out there. I look up and Mikey has paddled out through the waves. And with no leash on his board. And he is exhausted. His little arms are barely in the water. His T-Rex arms. And this was me after drinking four gallons of salt water. Hey, Jay. This is how I'm going. I was like, oh my gosh. So I think if he falls off his board, he is going to drown. So I get off my board. I unhook my leash off me, hook it off my board. And while Mikey's still laying on his board, I go and strap him to his board. Can I tell you? Can you swim, Mike? Yeah, yeah, yeah. But not when he's worn out. I mean, there was a rip current that day. It was tough. Yeah, you got to have it where you can get back to your board. Because his board takes off and the rip curl just keeps taking him off. He's going under. Remember when I almost died out there? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Well, what was really unnerving? was when Jay saw me and came up to me and I could see a look of fear in his face. Fear in his eyes. In his face, like, uh-oh, little Mexican's not supposed to be up this far. No, we were in the crash zone. I mean, we were lucky that it was a lull of waves. So all I was thinking was that, okay, the waves are going to come.
And here I'm off my board. Mikey's off his board. You know, nobody's tied in. It's like, I know I can make it to shore, but I'm not sure I can get Mikey and I to shore. I was like, oh, man. Meanwhile, the lifeguards are going. Jay risked his life for you, Mike. That's right. The lifeguards are going, novice surfers. Novice surfers. Please move. We drifted into a no surf zone. Yeah, we're looking at each other going, cool. This is great. Is that true? Oh, yeah. You guys don't even know that? No, no, no. I heard them talking, and I remember thinking to myself, I wonder what they're saying. Yeah, they're yelling at us. Is that for real? Yeah. It's a black ball flag, and we had drifted into their, they wanted an area just for swimming zones. And so I was like, okay, Mikey, what you want to do is paddle to shore now. So Mikey took off, and he made it to shore, and now look at Woods, and Woods is like, dying. I said, okay, we need to paddle down this way. He's like, can I just swim and drag the board behind me? That's what I wanted to do. I think it's going to make you more tired trying to swim. Why can't somebody invent something that gets me out through the break? I can't paddle. It's called strength. I don't want to do that. Like a little motorboat. Yeah, like a little motor on the back of the surfboard. Why can't they do that? You've got to crawl before you can walk. Lauren, I don't like crawling. I don't either. Yeah, well, you've got to build up some strength, buddy. You've got to get in shape. I don't want to. I just want to be able to ride giants. If that were the case, everyone and their mothers would be out there surfing, and then it wouldn't be fun anymore.
Quick, get out of the water. Seriously, novice surfers are approaching. Mikey and I made a decision. I'm so impressed with Mikey right now. We made a decision now. I really am. We didn't tell anybody. You shouldn't be because I didn't know what I was doing. But you got out there all on your own and it was, what, your second time? It blew me away, bro. I know. I'm so proud of you. That's hard. Bro, do you want to tell him? What? What we decided? What did you decide? When we were swimming together and we were on the surf. I was on the board. Don't say it. When I was on the board. You'll never. Is that what you decided? They'll never stop making fun of him. It's too late. Come on. Out with it. We're going to be spongers. We've decided. You guys already decided that last time. We did not. I know. Jay didn't even hear us say it. He hates it. He's like, you surf. You guys are so close to it. All you need to do is build a little more upper body strength. Mikey, you got out past the breakers. That's like, that's hard. Can I tell you? I was really afraid because when I got out there, the water was kind of calm. And I was on the surfboard. On my belly, which, get a visual of that. I can't believe this. And every once in a while, a wave would come. And because he tied that thing around my ankle. The leash. The leash would move. And I was like, oh, I'm getting bit. I'm getting bit. It's a shark attack. I know. I would like, every time it would move, I thought that was something biting me. And so I would like, and like balance myself on the board. And all I could think of in this cool water, it was like, or not cool water, but. The cologne? Calm. Calm.
All I could think of in this calm water was... I'm like, it's too calm. Yeah, I know. I get freaked out when it's too calm. It's quiet. It's quiet. You're by yourself. You're like, I'm going to die right here. And the water is dark and cold. You want to try not to be off on your own because that's who the sharks do go after. And that was me. They go off. I was by myself for a while, too. I was out there by myself and I had the look of... portly little seal. The lone rogue seal. The little one that got off to the side. I have the best visual right now of my life. The shark was looking underneath and the shark was like, that seal is really sinking under the water really far. It's a heavy little seal.
Were you doing everything you could to make sure your hands and feet were out of the water and hidden on the board? Yes. I did that all the time. Oh, it was. And I thought, I actually thought in my head, I go, how do surfers combat this mental thing? I don't know. Just don't think about it. Don't think about it. How do you not think about it? Look, I'm telling you, you are more likely to die sitting on the toilet than in a shark attack. So are you going to be scared every time you sit down? I'll go back to the thing Wood says. If there's going to be a clown, who do you think it's going to be? Me or him? Me and me? It would be both of us. Woods would start bleeding and attract the shark. I did. But Woods would somehow get away. He'd get into a fight with the shark. Woods would attract the shark. They'd eat me and he'd get out of the water. If he'd get in a fight, he'd be like, really, pal? Punch him in the nose. So we were surfing at Moonlight, which is... Awesome, awesome beach because there's not a lot of rocks. So you can walk out and I'm like, ah, immediately I'm like, this is a beach. Well, so I'm going to stay in the whitewater. Well, I didn't realize that the whitewater is two feet tall. So Mikey's watching me. He goes, get it, Woodsy. And I catch away and I'm six feet in the air. And the nose just goes straight down into the sand. And I was like, I almost died. I stood up. He goes.
That was awesome. I was like, yeah, that was death. Woods goes, he was completely serious. He goes, that's the scaredest I've ever been. I've said something else about maybe a number two possibly. See, that happens all the time. I've come that like near thinking that you're going to like die. Yeah. And that's part of the rush. Yeah, it is. Really? Yeah. So, Mike, when are we going to go boogie boarding? No. No. Come on. Why are we not allowed? You can. You can. You can. You can. Why are we not? I still will use my wetsuit and boogie board. I'll be a boogie boarding machine. When can we go boogie boarding? Just go. Can we go tomorrow? You'll learn the weights that way. Okay. I swear I'll do it if you do it. I'll do it. There's going to be 12-year-olds on surfboards being like, sponges. I know it. I know it. You know what I'll do to those guys? Beat the crew. They will have their calls. They'll say, get out of their back. We got new releases. This is the Mikey Show.

McDonald's new sweet blended iced McCafe Frappes, made with a hint of coffee and real whipped cream. Your day just got a little cooler and a whole lot sweeter. So how was your first train to Blissville? Sweet.
I'm thinking of making one more stop at the... Caramel Station. At participating McDonald's. Plus, every morning at McDonald's, you could still enjoy two Sausage McMuffin with Egg Sandwiches for just $3.50. Enjoy savory sausage, melted cheese, and fresh cracked eggs. The Sausage McMuffin with Egg 2 for just $3.50 every morning at McDonald's. Just think of all the value you can get from a Mini Cooper right now. In addition to a starting price of $19,500, now all 2010 Mini Models come with a limited time 1.9% APR financing. That's a great deal for the fuel-efficient 37-mile-per-gallon Mini Cooper Hard Top, along with the standard three-year $36,000. You know what I got? Let me start it again. Because I love that. I love to do that. I'm going to paint this picture for you. You guys do it too. I'm going to paint this picture for you. You ready? This is going to be great. Here we go.
I just got in a fight with my girlfriend. She lives on the beach. I walk to my car. It's a 78 Camaro, black, with two white stripes down the front. I get in, I start the engine, and I start to drive. Like it. I take out a SIG. Like it. And I'm blasting SIG, and I'm heading down the PCH at about 160 miles an hour. My hair is on fire. It's a nice car. Is this what guys do? This is so cool. Yes, I love this. I love this. And a montage is playing in my head of all the things that we've been through. Yeah, a montage. The first time I met her. The first time we made love. You know that made love really creeps O'Brien out. She hates when you say made love in the end. Unseen. What does that even mean? So weird. Like, what was that?
Dude, guys do this because I do this. All the time. You know what my dream job is besides this? Is to score a movie. Oh, yeah. To score a dark, dirty, dingy, like, bar fight movie. You guys all do that thing that you did? Yes, yes, and yes. Never would I have done it. That's for you, dude. That's for you. That's for you, pal. Yeah, you take it. Yeah, we just did one. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Our man, Jeremy. Jeremy is the bomb. We got you a present. We got you a present. Yeah. Open it. It's ticking. Open it. Should we do it on the air? Yeah, let's do it on the air. It'll be fun. You're the boss. You're the boss. You're the boss. Hey, boss. He got me a printer. He got us our own printer. He gets us breakfast sometimes. He's the man. He's our man. But you know, when the situation like this, do you start with a card or do you start with a gift? Yeah, a gift. You start with a gift. You always start with a card. You always start with a card. Go with what you know. Look, I've heard that too. He's like Jay. Look at him. He's got a knife instantly. He just pulled out a knife. You should have seen this dude at Coachella. He made breakfast burritos. He was like, he's the man. That is so cool. The man with the plans. He's smiling. My wife has heard me talk about Jeremy a lot. He's the best. Jeremy kills it for us. I can't believe he's got a pocket knife. Slice it open. You can't? I guess I can. The ribbon. You could just untie the ribbon. I'm not saving the ribbon. Don't hurt yourself. No, don't say it.
This goes against his convention, I think, this gift. I like it. It does. It's like totally a man-rapping job. Why do you think that? It does. It's like a man's present, you know? We'll see. What is this? You'll see. It's just like a mini iPad. Mini iPad. That would be awesome. It's the iPad, iPod Touch. Oh, that's awesome. It's the iPod Touch. Jeremy's not an Apple guy. He's not an Apple guy, but... I'm learning Apple because, you know, you guys are all Apple. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So he's having to kind of, you know, adjust to it. That'll get you there. Thank you for all you do. Thank you, dude. Thank you, brother. You're a good dude, and we really appreciate you, bro. We really appreciate you. Yeah, dude. For sure. For sure. Now fix the printer. We're out of toner. Mom, buy me a Jeremy. I want my own Jeremy. I want my own Jeremy. Dude, he jumped my car twice. I can't jump a car. You know that. He came up sheepishly. I was like, hey, you have a minute. Did he drop my car for me? He's like, really, dude? How's your piece? You don't have a piece. That is so awesome. Thank you, brother. Thank you, dude. Thank you, man. Love him. All right, I'm going to try it. I love this so much. I'll do this all day. I have a different one, though. Is this just an instrumental? Mine's not love. It's called intro. Oh, I like it. Mine was love on that. Mine was like love and angst. Yes, angst. Very angsty. I'm ready.
5 p.m. in the afternoon, Okinawa, Japan. Skyline. Helicopter shot swoops in. Oh, my gosh. There's an Asian man standing inside of a building looking outside. Down in the cityscape below, you see two men get out of a car and walk into a building. First Asian man takes a camera with a long lens and takes four photographs. Weird. Behind him, out of focus, a female walks in. He turns around and looks at her and rub hands in just on his face. As he thinks, vulvers out. This is what guys do. Yes, we do. But you guys say this out loud by yourselves? Oh, no, no. I think of it in my head. Think of it in my head. Lauren, do you do that? I don't do that whole scenario. Like when I heard this, I pictured myself like in like a.
You're in the scene. Yeah, I was in it, and I was in like a country, like a field or some sort of planes, and you could see all the stars, and I had little headphones on, and I was just dancing by myself with fireflies around me. I love it. I love it. See... I was lying on the beach drinking a mojito. Really? No. I didn't picture anything. If you had to put something to this, what would it be? Surfing? Yeah. You know what's funny you say that? This is the album. It's by the XX. Greatest album I've heard in the last five years. I love it so much. It's my surfing record. This would be a rad song to have on a surfing DVD, a video or something. Paddling Out. That's totally what I was thinking when I was thinking. Paddling Out. Yeah, I like that. I just watched Endless Summer the other day. They should throw those in there. Make a new one. It's a dark day in San Diego. It's gray.
And there's Jay on this board. Not for me, man. What I was thinking, my big truck loaded up full of gear. We're down to the beach down in Mexico. All our tents are all blowing in the wind. We're all running out for the morning set. Sun's coming up. Pump it up. That sounded really, really cool. But I would be the guy in that scene looking for a wireless connection. I can't get a signal. Guys, have a great session. Grill some sandwiches for everybody. Guys, I don't have any bars. I'm going to have any bars, guys. You'd be on the sat phone going, Rebecca, I don't even know where I am. Jay brought me down here. I'll check the weather for you guys. They don't even have hand sanitizer. You guys, I just tried to make a phone call and it said something in Spanish. Does anybody speak Spanish? Because I don't understand what it says. I've got sand in places I didn't know I had. That would be my scene. Oh, that was great. It's a good one. Thank you. Oh, we got a break now. No. No, I'm just kidding. Almost. New releases. Quickly. What do we have? Give me some. All right, I'm going to go with the albums. Toots and the Maytals. Of course. Flip and twist. I like Toots and the Maytals. You do? Yeah. Wow. I do. Yeah. This doesn't sound like Toots and the Maytals. No, it doesn't. It's like Stevie Wonder. What else is coming out? Cypress Hill, Rise Up. Nice. Really? There's a lot of hip-hop today because you know today is bright. Oh, it's 420. 420!
Is it? It is. It's a big day here. Yeah, if you're 13. Yeah, grow up, Pete. There was one 420. Grow up, Peter Pan. Come on. There was one 420 in high school where someone like, I don't even know if it was real, but somehow a bomb threat got out in our school. A bong threat? I think it was just an excuse to not go to school. Let's go home and get baked. So, like, 90% of the school didn't show up on this 420. And there was a huge party down at the beach at Wittency. And we were all in the paper, like, students skip school to go to that party. At 420 on 420, man. This is the best day of the year, man. I was in the paper. It was the best. You know, Topper's stoked. Yeah. Topper would be down there partying with all of them. It's his birthday today, 420. Yeah. It's, like, his favorite day of the year. The Apples in Stereo, Travelers in Space. Mikey's in because it's called The Apples. Yeah. It's an iPad commercial. Yeah. It does. Yeah. Space is the best during new releases. Boy or girl? Boy or girl? Girl. Say it again. Boy or girl? Both. Both. Shem. The Apples in Stereo. Very jolly. Girl. Boy. Justin Bieber. I think it's a boy.
Oh, I don't know. What's the name of the band? The Apples in Stereo. Also today, Mikey's favorite, Toby Keith, crying for me. I like some Toby. Maybe I do. I don't know. I don't know what he sounds like. Git. Toby Keith, I don't know. Sounds kind of like Kenny G showed up. Yeah, it does. Sounds like Kenny G hired him to play a party. Toby Keith showed up, started playing. Kenny was like, you know what? What the heck? I'll get up there with him. I'll get up there and jam with him. And Toby was like, yeah, come on up, come on up, Kenny. So Kenny got up there and blew that saxophone right there in front of all of Toby's guests. Oh, wow. Also, people are like on their camera phones, they're like, this is monumental. Ladies and gentlemen, great moment. The Apple's in stereo, the singer is a bully. I knew it! Who's that? Justin Bieber. Justin Bieber. Bieber. What else? Devo, study song is out. It's a song you study to.
Come on, Mike. From the soundtrack of Tron 2. They're the Whippet guys. Yeah. Love Deebo. Whippet guys. That's their style. Is it the same guys that run on the treadmill? No, that's okay. It sounds like that. Totally melodic. It's like listening to Chicago. No, they're the Whippet guys. Whip it good. She has no idea what you're talking about. It's in blanks. Yeah. Like what you do with a whipped cream can. Can we talk about 420 again? Going down to Windensee. Smoking some dope. Today's 420. Yeah. Oh my God. I'm a pregnant woman. All right. You guys about to have a baby. That's right. Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders. Red Light Fever. Drummer from Foo Fighters. That a boy. My wife's madly in love with him and cried when she met him. Cried. I want to see what he looks like. She's a 35-year-old woman. Taylor Hawkins is his name. He kind of looks like Brad Pitt. He kind of looks like Brad Pitt did in True Romance. I saw him at a gas station. I go, Jamie, Taylor Hawkins. She goes, and started crying. Oh, my God. She loves him. Really? Yes. It's very skinny. The people say when they go to MikeyShow.com. He looks a bit like a salamander. Still MikeyShow.com.
T-Pain. I don't even know what this is. Freak Nick. That's what he's known for. Sounds like every other song he's ever put out. I'm okay with that. No, no, this was about a stripper, so. I like it. Oh, yeah. I'm good with that. I would be okay with the O'Brien remix. Uh-huh. That's pleasant to my ears, that sound. Oh, girl. Auto-tune is pleasant. To the stage, girl. That's the Doritos. Oh, man. Also out. CD today. Cottonmouth Kings. Love. Long live.
Long live. Or long live. Every time on new releases. I love it. Live and live go both ways. That's true. They are bisexual. They're bisexual. Live and live. It's not a big deal. I'm used to seeing albums that say live. Long live the king. 420. It's a big release, Dave. Cottonmouth Kings. White Dudes. Notice how I didn't raise the roof. No, they are. They're White Dudes. No, they're not. They are. They're not. Cottonmouth Kings. They are, actually. Really, Mike? Yep. Really? They're from Orange County. Yep, they're white. Here's someone who's really going to be celebrating today's holiday. Willie Nelson, country music. Nice. Wow. He still sounds good. Spooky. He's Willie. Yeah, but when people get older, usually they get, you know. Yeah, especially if you're smoking doobies every day.
He sounds good. Dig it. My roommate had a cat named Willie Nelson. It was the biggest cat I've ever seen in my life. I love Willie. He just smoked weed all the time. He was a stoner, that cat. Wow. And last, Seven Dust is out today, Cold Day Memory. Lejeune. I like their old stuff better. Yeah, I like this better the first time when it was called Corn. Yeah. What about the movies? Oh, yeah, we'll hit it when we come back. This is Muse. Uprise. Call now. Be a part of the Mikey Show now. Call 570-1949 or text 949mikey at gmail.com. This is the Mikey Show. No, it's a book. It's a book. By, I think a woman wrote it, no? Peter Jackson. Oh, yeah. He directed it. The Nerd of the Rings. All right. Yeah, that was a huge book. Let's go to Gimli and hang out with Grendel. Really? The movie's made at half a gajillion dollars. Peter Jackson directed that movie. Let's go to Grimley and see Gandalf. Okay, you're going to feel bad. They read a bunch of lyrics about Lord of the Rings, buddy. I don't know what you're talking about. Next. Can you picture Rivendell right now? Picture the lovely Rivendell. Come on, elves coming out. The Young Victoria. Movie about Queen Victoria. It's an adult film. It's out.
Really? No. It's not an adult film. I would not be reporting on adult films. I thought it was. In fact, she started doing the XXX report, huh? Yeah. No, I'm not doing that here on a morning show. Noodle porn today. Steven Woods. What? You just disappointed Pepper. You did. Why? It takes a lot. Why did I disappoint you? Adult films. What about it? What? You know I used to work in that industry. I don't like to talk about my past. And? One of the big ones. Yeah, I know it. Out today. Crazy Heart. Yeah. Jeff Bridges. He won the Best Actor Academy Award for his performance in this movie. Woods has already started loading it on his computer. Yeah, it's loading. We go in all morning. Wow. And. So happy. What are you going to do if it's not done? Stay here. I'll just hang out with Hillary until it's done. Hi, Hillary. I'll just be here. No, Avatar. Nerd-a-tar. I wouldn't watch it on DVD. I wouldn't watch it on DVD. I already saw it once, which isn't enough. It's not good? I mean, it's good to see once. I'll watch the love. Yeah, if you have all day. Take me to your leader. Yeah. Stop it. Those are your new releases, my friends. Sweet. Let's see. Oh, you know what? We wanted to do this thing. What celebrity do you look like? Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sienna. Chaz Bono. You do not look like Chaz Bono. Don't I? You don't. Don't I? You do not. Don't I? No, you don't. Don't I? Sienna looks like Lindsay Lohan. When I first met her, I said, you look like Lindsay Lohan. Everyone says that. I don't know with O'Brien. I don't get anything from Pepper. I don't want to say mine. Oh, God. Yeah, who do people tell you? Oh, no. I think I know. Okay. You tell me. No, I feel like it's a jerk. Tell me and I'll say yes. I always get, like, really beautiful women that I... Dakota Fanning. What? No, the girl that used to date Orlando Bloom that was on Blue Crush. Kate Bosworth? Yeah. Kate Bosworth. That's a good one, though.
Who do you get? I don't want to say it. Say it. I'm going to feel like a jerk. I said Lindsay Lohan. We'll say I said it. I've gotten Charlize Theron. I can kind of see it. I've gotten Angelina Jolie. What? I know. I know. Woods is giving me a look. Woods just said to me with his eyes, really? I looked at Mikey and I go, I was in my head. I go, me or you? One of us is going to say really. I'm just saying, I used to have, I dyed my hair brown and I got Angelina all the time. I get Clooney. Every day. I told you I didn't want to see it. Giselle Bundchen was my second. Kate Hudson. But I don't see any of them. I see Cheryl Teagues, but I know that's probably, you don't know who that is. Yeah, I see Cheryl Teagues. Oh, yeah, yeah, Cheryl Teagues. For those, you know, for guys over 39 years old. Yeah. I love Cheryl Teagues. You do too. Cheryl Teagues has like pointy little features. I don't. Look at the one that I told her. Well, this is like a humongous picture. But, oh, there. It looks like Lauren. Yeah, it does. Who is it?
Who is that? Kate Bosworth. That's pretty good. It's a compliment, too. I'll take all of it. Hillary, who's your celebrity lookalike? Mallory Keaton. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. That is... When you said that right now, I was like, oh, my gosh. I loved her when I was a little kid. She does. Who do I get? Yeah, who do you get? Oh, Danny DeVito. What? The Penguin? I don't know. I don't get anybody. I get Chaz Bono. I used to get Vince Vaughn. You don't look like Chaz Bono. I used to get the double V. You look like... Johnny Knoxville. Listen, when I first met Woods, he looked just like Robert Downey Jr. In fact, we took a picture with him the first day we met you. Yeah, first day on the air. We took a picture with him and we posted on our website, Robert Downey Jr. stopped by the show today to welcome us to town. We used to have similar lifestyles too. Yeah, you did. Back in those days. Yeah, you did. He's so hard. Woods is like a big teddy bear. Have you seen the... previews for Iron Man 2. You asked me like three times. I haven't seen it yet. Iron Man 2? Uh-huh. Like the comic book? You asked me that three times. Oh my gosh. You're fighting every day. You've asked me that three times. No, I haven't seen it yet. I know, but I keep asking because I think you'll see it.
Oh, I'll go. Dude, I told you. You have seen it. You didn't like fantasy. That's not fantasy. It's comic book. It's not fantasy, though. Oh, my God. It's not fantasy. Really? Fantasy is Lord of the Rings. Superheroes are real. He builds the suit, and it flies and stuff. That's not fantasy. He builds it. Sure. Real. You guys, he used it. Could that happen? Could that happen? No. It couldn't. He builds the suit, and it flies. That's not true. Come on. This is real. We're talking real life things here. You guys understand what I'm saying, though. Okay, can I ask you? Because Clark Kent could easily go into a phone booth and spin around and be Superman. Back to the Future. Back to the Future. Was that fantasy? Back to the Future was... Getting a DeLorean, getting it up to 88 miles an hour. It was a comedy. It was a comedy. It was a comedy. Yeah. Comedy. But the premise. It's a comedy. I didn't, like, these nerds, like the nerds of the rings. Yes. That's fantasy. There's no hobbits. Oh, gosh. People don't live in trees. There's not mountains. Aren't there? places where that was filmed, like New Zealand, that looked like that? Yes, honey. There are real places that exist, like the set, but there aren't little dudes with walking sticks going, come to Mordor with me. It's not real. What about Mini-Me? What about Mini-Me? He's a midget. Okay. You guys are morons. I'm out of here. When are we going on vacation? I love it.
Weird. But I want you to see Iron Man. I want you to see the Iron Man 2 trailer. The first day I'll see it. I'll go see it with you the first day it comes out. Let's all go. It looks so good. It is not fantasy. Lauren, it's not fantasy. Lauren, let me tell you. Yes, it would be at Comic-Con. I'm being super serious, right? I do like... Lord of the Rings. I do, too. I like fantasy. But I don't like any, like, Batman. I didn't like any of those movies. That's another real one. Another real one. I didn't like it. The Dark Knight. It was real. He built the stuff. Didn't like any of those, right? This Iron Man, though, it was really good. You know what? It was great. That character, Tony Stark, is the coolest cat. The coolest dude ever. He's the coolest dude ever. Is Iron Man the one with Edward Norton? No. That's the Hulk. Oh, yeah. See? It's the same thing. Fantasy. Oh, gosh. That couldn't happen. You draw a fine line, my dear. That is not a fine line. This dude gets in a suit that he makes because he's one of the most brilliant weapons makers in the world. He invents this suit.
That has like, it's like a jet pack. Yeah. Yeah. It's a real, it could be a real thing. Yeah. It'll be funny if our grandkids are like, well, yeah, that's what we all do now. Yeah. That's what we do. You know what I mean? Yeah, they will be. We'll have to wait and see. Iron Man is not fantasy. Until then, it's fantasy. Let's get off the air so we can fight about it. Seriously. Hillary's like, can I just come on? I know. Can I just do my shift? I got some clash to play. Hill, what do you got? What do you got coming up? Man, now all I can think is Justine Bateman. You're right. It's good. It's good. It's a good thing. It's really cool. All right, the lovely and talented Hillary is up next, and the Mikey Show will come back tomorrow morning and do it all over again at 6 a.m. Don't forget, the Mikey Show will be seen today on NBC 739 at 4 o'clock, and we're also going to be on Fox, right? Did they tell us what time we're going to air on Fox? 6 and 10 tonight on Fox.
