Tuesday May 11, 2010
Woods has yet to experience the bliss that is a Rubio’s fish taco. Kombucha is on the rise; I mean the stock, not the stuff in the drink. The Kid announces he’s a judge in the Miss Mission Beach contest and that he got to attend a Charger’s practice. Man bites dog news story has funny audio of the 911 call. While Pepper noshed on a snack at the mall she noticed people checking her out because she’s famous now but then realized she had yogurt in her hair! Next up is the big bazooms vs. perky small bras debate. Mike was at a taco stand (of all places) and saw a chick wearing a wrong-sized bra. Britain’s Got Bluehairs…er… I mean Talent audio. On What Grosses You Out Jay says he found a dead rat in his pool. Woodsy doesn’t mind frenching his dogs. Shower hair is the worst! Girls turn evil at age 13, Jay informs us. Woods wanted to steal from Elvis’ estate. Jay got sympathy from the Devil when he lifted a little coffin from the Rolling Stones. Plump young Mikey re-enacts his confession about stealing gum. Jay and Woodsy’s now famous golf bet challenge is thrown down and the Meet & Greet becomes a meet, greet, and eat! Mother’s Day talk gets interesting when it’s time to choose between your wife and mom. M1 Bear is the perfect mama’s boy. A cantankerous Andy Rooney rants about “Lady Ga-Guh” and modern pop music he doesn’t understand. The gang imagines what it would be like to be Andy Rooney’s waiter. Sienna’s stepdaughter’s hamster died so how do you explain it to a child? Then her mmmmmooooooommmm calls in to talk about family pets that’ve passed on. Woodsy and Lauren ain’t down with clowns and scary movies. Mikey was horrified by a painting in the house while growing up. Jay owned a demonic doll that talked without batteries! New releases draw out some hilarious LOB voices, especially Cher. A Meatloaf fan calls in to explain his love of the Loaf. The Kid doesn’t watch Lost because he’s “not into doing puzzles”. This leads to talk about Lost and Woodsy gets lost in the explanation of the plot.

The show covered Rubio's pending $91 million investment and its menu stability, followed by a lively debate over the best fish tacos and bean varieties at the chain. Mikey mocked Obama's Supreme Court pick Elena Kagan, noting her youth, Taylor Swift friendship, and lack of judicial experience, while the crew also discussed San Diego's fire pits and a deadly tornado in Oklahoma/Kansas. Later, Woodsy and Jay revealed a golf‑drive wager where the loser would eat veal or Indian food at the Friday meet‑and‑greet, and Lauren O'Brien recounted her yogurt‑on‑the‑face mishap and a list of listener‑submitted 'skeevy' pet peeves.
What happened, in order

The crew discusses Rubio's impending $91 million investment deal, its history since 1983, and which menu items might stay the same.
Fish Taco Talk
Woodsy and Lauren debate the best fish tacos, bean varieties, and whether Rubio's beats other local spots.
San Diego Fire Pits

News of deadly tornadoes in Oklahoma and Kansas is shared, with details on damage, power outages, and hail the size of softballs.
Elena Kagan Nomination

Lauren's Yogurt Mishap
Lauren O'Brien discovers a giant glob of yogurt on her face after writing bits, leading to embarrassment and laughter from the crew.
Skeevy Topics
Listeners share things that gross them out—hospital smells, sweat rings, food in facial hair, and more—prompting a round of confessions.
Golf Bet: Veal vs Indian Food
Woodsy and Jay settle a long‑drive golf bet: the loser must eat either veal (Jay) or Indian food (Woodsy) at the upcoming meet‑and‑greet.

KBCT San Diego, the Lincoln Financial Media Station. The new home of the Mikey Show. This is FM 94.9. Know where the gold at? Give me the gold. I want the gold. Listen, every day we come on the radio, that man right there expects only the best from us. He wants the gold. He says, I don't want the bronze, I want the gold. Every day. I want to know where the gold at. It's coming. I want to go. All right, okay. Get me to go. We're going to. That's the plan. You got it. That's the plan, sir. Welcome to the program, everybody. It is Tuesday, and phone lines are open for you.
570-1949 is our number. You can text us, 949Mikey at gmail.com. And let's see, we've got five people on the show. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the program. I'm 39 years old for at least a couple of more weeks. Woodsy is our sports guy, 34 years old. And we've got Lauren O'Brien. She's the blondie. She is a comedian and also the assistant producer on the show. Sienna is 25 years of age. She's going to have a baby pretty soon. And she is our news girl. And Jay, Jay is 46. He's our producer. You get to talk to him on the phone when you call. 570-1949. And we got a lot of stuff today. We got a full show. It's only Tuesday. And a lot of stuff in the news. Big stuff in the news. Rubio's. How about this Rubio's deal? What's going on? I know it. It's going to be sold. It's going to be sold. It looks like it's going to be sold. Yeah. In case you didn't know, Rubio's first opened right on Mission Bay Drive in 1983. And now there's a $91 million deal on the table to grow the company even more. Yeah. Mill Road Capital LP, which is based in Connecticut. They want to pony up the dough. Yeah. And the board is already approved. The board of directors is already approved for the deal. But they still need to approve all of this happening by stockholders.
other agencies. Well, my question is, is it going to change? I don't, I don't, they can't change it. I saw something on the news last night and they said a lot of the, uh, the menu items will stay the same. Good. I've never been there. Have I eaten there? Nope. Not yet. And love to have you go. Cause I think you'd really love it. Woodsy's from Texas and has been out here since February and, or January and, uh, has not had a fish taco yet. Have I? I had a bite of Jamie's. From Rubio's? No, from some other joint. Now, see, that's the deal. I think Rubio's does the fish taco the best. So good. The quintessential fish taco. Maybe we hit it for lunch tomorrow. Dude, I'm all in. I'm okay with that. They know what they're doing. You don't do the fish tacos, LLB? No, I like fish tacos. You do? I'm down. You like different kind? What's that? You like... Are you partial to fish tacos or you're not such a fan? No, I love fish tacos. Yeah, but you like them. Where's your favorite place to get them? Where do you like them the most? Where would you order them if you had to pick one place? Where would you go? Well, the place that I used to work, the Wild Note Cafe. Yeah. Best fish tacos in town. What kind of fish they use? Mahi-mahi. They deep fry or no? You can have it either way. What did you do? You can have it grilled. Weird. You know that. I think I'd like it grilled too. You can have it beer battered and deep fried. You want beer battered and deep fried. I don't like deep fried fish.
Well, Rubio's don't do the beer batter. Well, if I wanted deep fried fish, I'd go to Long John Silver's. Really? You know that. All right. I'm confident that you will enjoy this thing. I'll try a grilled one. They have really good beans. They're my favorite. I get a side of beans and chips. The number one is fantastic. The number one? Number one. I love to take the little lime wedge and individually wipe the lime wedge on my chip. and dip it into the beans. In fact, I can taste that right now. Oh, I want that now. You do that with each chip? I do it with each individual chip. Why don't you just squirt it? Their beans are like nowhere else. They're pinto beans. They're not like fatty. Oh, they're so good. Delicious. Are they refried? No. I don't know what they are. They're good. No, I think they're just regular pinto. Yeah. You can get anything you want there, though, Woodsy. You can get the black bean. You can get the refried. White beans? Can you get white beans? Yes, you can get white beans. Lime beans, navy beans. Black beans, yeah. Yeah, you can get any kind of beans. You can get beans picked by a Sherpa. What are navy beans? I don't know. I've had navy beans. Are they white? Fresh from the sea. Exactly. No.
They're delicious. I love army beans. Really are my favorite. Army beans are good. Well, this $91 million deal is expected to be completed during the third quarter of this year. Really? Yeah. I remember they changed their menu. Changed their menu a while back. I talked to Ralph Rubio himself about it. Really? You did? Yeah. Oh, brethren. He hired a guy that had been very successful with other companies and revamping other companies. And this guy came in. He took a look at their menu. And he said. And he sharpened things up a little bit. And so he changed the menu around a little bit. He kept some things the same. But Rubio's is delicious food. Dude, I had to do a guy in Chicago that did that for a living. Yeah. They used to hire this guy. He's a good friend of mine. His name is Shane. Restaurants would hire him for like three months at a time, come in, revamp the menu. Like that is such a talent. Consultant, right? Amazing. It just made bank. I'm telling you, this Gordon Ramsay. Had a whole show where that's what he would do. He would go to a restaurant that was failing and he would turn the restaurant around. It was called Kitchen Nightmares. So great. Some of the stuff that he would do or some of the places that he would go to were just filthy. I like that show. I did too. I like the Cinderella rags to riches shows that they do. It was nice. He went into an Indian food place in New York City.
And burned it down? It was teeming. Well, Woodsy says that because he hates Indian food. Made him throw up one time. Maybe he just had the wrong kind of Indian food. That's what I thought. I guarantee he did. Disgusting. But he went into this place in New York City and it was teeming with roaches. Really? It was. Should have burned it down. You'd have to burn down every restaurant in New York City. Fair enough. But he changed it all around, man. He got it going. He's got some very basic principles to a good restaurant. Clear the roaches out. Clear the roaches out is one of them. Clean is one of his deals. He says, you know, it's got to be spotlessly clean. He says, you got to keep the menu simple. He would go crazy at the Cheesecake Factory. Can you imagine? Yeah, it would make him nuts. Kiss. K-I-S-S. Keep it simple, stupid. Keep it simple, stupid. things you can get at the Cheesecake Factory. It's overwhelming. It looks like War and Peace. Yeah, it is. You're like, give us 30 minutes. Imagine being a waitress or a waiter there. You would have to know everything. How about a cook? Imagine being a cook. You're like, I'm making... Yeah, but at least they have a cheat sheet probably in front of them if they need it. But they're like, okay, I'm making lettuce wraps with this hand. Now I'm making tacos and I'm making pasta here. No, you have different stations. It's ridiculous. Different types of chefs. But you're right. The waitress, can I interest you in our featured advertiser?
They can do a documentary on that restaurant. Seriously. Does that have onions on it? I don't know. I have no idea. There's 87 things on this menu. It's right there in the menu. Check it out. Is that the menu or Stephen King's The Stand? Seriously. It's massive. It's so good, though. It's a really long menu. Oh, geez. And then his other thing is that you have to have really, really fresh ingredients. No frozen. Don't get any frozen in here. I hate frozen stuff. You can taste frozen stuff. It's disgusting. Is that guy's name really Ralph Rubio? Yes, it is. Now, how many Rubios are there? 174. There must be for 91 million. No, I can tell you. Do you like that? There are 195 Rubios. Wow. I wasn't far. In California, Arizona, Colorado, Utah, and Nevada. Nice. Is he blonde, that Ralph Rubio? He is not a blonde guy. He's one of my brethren, so as you can imagine. Not a lot of blonde Latinos. Rubio means blonde. There is now my wife, Rebecca, I guess. Her last name is Esparza. Yeah, there you go. She's a Rubia. Yeah, it's not strange when she goes to the doctor's office and they go, Rebecca Esparza. Oh. Oh, really? That's weird. You must be married. You know, stocks are coming back up. That's good news. Thank God. My portfolio was in the toilet. Really? Stocks.
Soared it yesterday. One of the biggest gains in a year happened yesterday. The Dow Jones finished the day up with over 404 points, amounting to a 3.9% increase. Is that right? Mm-hmm. Yeah, Woodsy carries his portfolio on a peachy fold. Yeah, he does. He's got the ticker going all day. All day. I've got $9 in my 401 now. Can't stop watching Mad Money. You're just watching it endlessly. Endlessly. Well, the reason for the stocks going back up is because they're saying that they're going to help out Greece, which is in... Financial ruin. Yeah, they announced a nearly $1 trillion plan to help out with the European crisis right now. Where are we going to get that from? It's in the couch. A trillion dollars. You guys have any stocks? Yeah. Do you? Yeah. Really? No. No? Me neither. I used to. You guys, let me tell you something. Last year, when we were in the toilet, when our economy was in the toilet, George Chamberlain, who used to work over at the other building that I worked at, money guy he said right now is the bot is the time to buy he said this is like never heard of before in the history of america time to buy and i remember that yeah smart guy you need money to make money though kid didn't have any yeah i know would have loved to he said you know what his advice was because i said well i don't know what to buy he said just ask yourself what you use apple
Apple. I bought Apple. Did you get some? Yeah. Nice. Good for you. Maybe you'd like to throw down a couple of Pepsis. Yeah. Whatever. Maybe throw a couple of shares the kids away. Yeah. Maybe you like Mickey D's. Yeah. Maybe you like Mickey D's. Maybe you like a certain brand of toilet paper. You find out who makes it. You go, hey, listen, I like it. Diapers. Diapers. What if Copenhagen has stock? Seriously. Dude. You know what I mean? Like you look at who the company is and you go, I'm going to get that. I bet things that baby boomers would be using. Like hearing aids. Depends. Canes. Sure. Depends. That's smart. It depends. Depends on the depends. That's right. Lauren could get kombucha. Get stock in kombucha. That's true. Kombucha is on the rise. Is it? Yeah, I saw an article. Well, M1 sent me an article that was on MSN. Sure is on the rise here in San Diego. No kidding. Because of Lauren O'Brien. Listen. Can't keep me far from it. But she loves it. She swears by it. She says it makes her healthy. Oh, yeah. Well, look at her and then look at us. Maybe there's something to it. Maybe there's something to it. Still, I won't do it. Diet, exercise. What's that all about? Nothing. You know, on the front page of the San Diego Union Tribune today is a picture of people enjoying a fire pit in...
At the beach here in San Diego. Is it my neighbors in their backyard? That they like to light campfires every night when my windows are open? They have a chiminea. They don't. They have a fire pit. I think that's nice. Must be my neighbors. What's wrong with that, Woodsy? My house smells like a campfire. That's what's wrong with it. And I'm trying to go to bed at 8 o'clock, and my house was a campfire. Blow a fan at the door. There you go. About to blow a rifle in the backyard. I thought that that was one of those pleasant smells. No, it smells like dirt. It's the worst. Maybe buy some marshmallows. Maybe. Can't beat them, join them. Maybe introduce yourself and come over there with a little clothes hanger with marshmallows on the end of it. Maybe I introduce myself with a Molotov cocktail in their backyard. Okay. What if you just set off like a stink bomb out there? Yeah, maybe. Maybe rotten eggs under the fire pit. Just start blasting cigs. Yeah, there you go. That's the worst. Well, fire pits are a big deal in San Diego because they, I guess, outlawed them at certain beaches or beaches? Well, all of them. There's 186 fire pits along the shoreline of San Diego in PB, Mission Beach, Ocean Beach, La Jolla, and Mission Bay Park. And you guys have all enjoyed a bonfire every now and again, right? Never. We have to take you.
Yeah. You and Jamie need to get in. It's a rite of passage. Is it like the Karate Kid? Yes, exactly. Is it like the Karate Kid? Like, I'll bring my boom box? Yeah. Let's take them. Play soccer? Why'd they get rid of them in the first place? They were trying to get rid of them. Because of spending cuts, you know, maintenance, you have to take care of the fire pits and stuff like that. And people were just freaked out. And so two big local nonprofit organizations donated a lot of money. That's nice. And they are here to stay. That's great. Yeah. At least for another year until this comes up again. Who's going to take the kid? We'll take you, Woodsy. It costs $120,000 to the city to do it, I guess. It's cool, though. I used to live down in PB, and if you're on Crown Point or something, you can see all this little fire all around the bay. It's pretty cool. Sweet. Bring your guitar down in Serenade's Woods. 100%. If there was nothing to do, people would just go down and hang out in fire pits. Bring the soccer ball, kick the soccer ball around, just like Karate Kid. Maybe get in a fight. It is exactly like that. It is. I'm sold. Well, congratulations, San Diego. You get to keep your fire pits. Nice, cozy.
What about the tornado? That's big news today. And by the way, open phones for you. You can call about something you watch on TV, anything you want to talk about. Don't forget, we're meeting you. We're doing a meet and greet on Friday. It's going to be at Hoolies in La Mesa. And we'll be there from 5 to 7. And we'd love everybody to come out and hang out with us. A chance for you to meet us, get our new sticker, and just have a good time with us. Hello, Beastie. She's buying everybody a beer. Nice, L.O.B. Very nice. There you go. Beer's on her. I thought it was that everyone was buying me. Is that what it is? What's going on, Sienna? Well, two areas of Oklahoma and Kansas, they did not have a good day yesterday. There was some massive twisters, tornadoes, and at least five people died. That's sad. Ten people injured.
It was just bad. Power was out. More than 65,000 homes, businesses without power. And they say it's going to be back today. The weather is not going to get any better. Whereabouts in Kansas? In Yukon, above Yukon, which is west of Oklahoma City. And Norman, which is south of Oklahoma City. And in Wichita, Kansas. Dude, Fenwick. Is that where he lives? Fenwick, my best friend who was here last week. I got to check on him. It was right southwest of Wichita. Wow. Heading towards the city. Hail balls. Huge hail balls. The size of softballs. Yeah. Really? Yeah. That is crazy. Yeah, there was overturned cars, trees down, damaged homes. I mean, it was a big one. I don't understand. If they have hail that's the size of softballs, doesn't every single citizen have to get... their cars and houses repaired. One would think. And how would insurance companies be able to manage that? Because it would seem that every individual, everybody... You have to have purchased...
Specific insurance. Specifically. Otherwise, they'd probably say, listen, that's a natural thing. We can't do anything about it unless you specifically stated that's what you wanted. Right. But that's an area that's, you know, it's like Wizard of Oz, you know. It's a twist. They know. They have to expect it. If you live there, it's like living in parts of California. I mean, you get, what's the mudslide, earthquake. You know, all that stuff. You've got to be prepared for it. I would definitely be the person that would think it won't happen to me. 100%. Wildfires. A lot of people didn't have insurance for the wildfires that have hit here. I'm getting it all. Just to answer your question, 40 homes were destroyed and 108 or more damaged. Wow. 108. How is it not every home damaged by hail? There was hail here a little while ago. Sometimes, you know. Here it's always small. It's marble-sized. They're comparing the damage to what's similar to an EF3 tornado, which is capable of producing winds. Well, no. When you have an EF3, it's winds of 165 miles per hour. Yeah. So it was nuts. That's how fast I drive to work. That is fast.
That's really fast. Wow. That's how Wolfgang drives on the Autobahn. Absolutely. It's great. Yeah. No speed limits on the Autobahn. Yeah, but you know how to handle it. Of course. Find German craftsmanship. You know, those things can pick up moos and throw them right around. I know it. You've got to be careful. 165 miles an hour. Yep. It was a big one. So, they're all really looking out today because it's supposed to not get better. Here's a real adult story for you. When I tell you this story, you're going to go, that's for grownups. Even if you're in your 20s, 30s, or 40s, you're going to hear this story and you're going to go, it's for grownups. You know why? Because even at 40, 50 years old, you still feel like a child inside. I'm 39 years old. I heard this story. I go, oh, ask my mom about it. Obama nominated somebody for the Supreme Court. Great. I feel like a little kid. I'm like, does that have to do with me? What's on cartoons? Sounds so adult, doesn't it? Doesn't that sound like an adult story that adults are interested in? Who is she? Elena Kagan, he nominated her yesterday to replace the retiring Justice John Paul Stevens in the U.S. Supreme Court. Now, she's the first candidate in some time who's never been a judge. She's 50 years old, the youngest justice on the current court, and she would be the third. She's 13 years old. It's so inappropriate. She'd be the third woman. Really? Yeah. She's best friends with Taylor Swift. That's right.
I thought it was so inappropriate that she's getting sworn in wearing a Taylor Swift T-shirt. I was like, that's so wrong. She had a Jonas Brothers hat on. She's 50. It's crazy that 50 is like, wow, that's young. It's a new 20. Court judges are usually pretty up there. Yeah. And they stay there until they die. Why wouldn't you? Judges, they don't have to, they just get to stay. Obama said that she is one of the nation's foremost legal minds. Does she? Mm-hmm. How does he know? How do I know? How do we find that out? How do we go, I'd like to test that theory. I'd like to give you a quiz. Here's a quiz for you. Raise your hand. Say your name if you know. Okay. Who was the first female Supreme Court justice? Lauren. Sandra Day O'Connor? Man. Of course. Who doesn't know that? I mean, oops. Never would have guessed that. I mean, oops. I mean, I mean, I never get those right. Really? I'm always like, you got that correct. I mean, oh, that's wrong. I'm sorry. Oh, boy. How many, there's not probably been very many women that have been in there. Third one? Third? I think I just said that. Yeah, three. 94.9. 94.9, not done. 6 to 10 a.m. Every Monday through Friday. Sometimes I show up. That's right. Today Jay's picking the music. How about some Dylan, like a Rolling Stone? How do you feel about that? Love it. That's my Dylan. Hey, Woodsy. Yeah. I want to talk to you about charger practice because Woodsy went to charger. Oh, and I want to mention.
So, Woodsy went to charger practice. Scrimmage with Rivers? No. And he saw something that kind of shocked me. And I went, dude, I cannot wait to tell people that. Yeah. So, we'll tell you. Lauren had something very embarrassing happen that she was telling us about. And I am now springing on her to tell to the rest of the world. So, we'll do that. Come on up, Lauren. Seems so proud. Life well spent. Heading into the 163, the ramp to Mesa College Drive. Looks like we've got a bed liner that's in the middle of the lanes of that off-ramp. Also, the Coronado Bridge westbound between the 5 and the 12 Plaza pretty much stop and go right now. A little bit of a delay, too, on the 5 southbound between the 94 and the Coronado Bridge. Something we can chew on. I have a cool thing happening in my life. What?
I'm judging the Miss Mission Beach contest on Saturday. Are you really? Yeah, you know that. Are you kidding me? No. I think I might go. It's going to be hilarious. Please come watch me. How and why is this happening? These girls are very talented. Are they? Yeah, they're very talented. They've got two big talents. And it's their dream. A few of them are cellists. They're playing the cello. Yes, composers. Right, a couple of composers. There's going to be. Ballerinas. Yeah, it's great. They have to bring a grand piano right out there on the stage for, you know. Because they know at least five or six of the girls will be playing the grand piano, so they just leave it there. And several cellos will be there. Several cellos. Yeah, come out and watch your boy Saturday morning. I don't know. Look on the website. I'll let you know later in the week, but I will be a judge. Are you being serious? I'm dead serious. When did this talk come about? Guess who set that up for him? Jay Bird made it real well. My wife thanks you, Jay, by the way. Perv McGurv. Perv. She's running out, though. My wife, she's going to go with me too. She'll be there. She'll be great. Of course she is. She's going to help judge. She's like, oh, what time is our pageant on Saturday? To which you said, keep your eyes on your own paper. Do you have some stuff to do around the house? This guy. Well, like Mike was saying, I did. I'm very lucky. We have a great job here. Got the invite to go watch Charger practice last Friday. Right after we got off the show.
Scooted down there and posted up next to the, what do you call the thing? The goal post. Yeah. And was watching the guy. So, of course, the first thing, they give you a roster. They have all these free agents on it. And, you know, they've signed and then their draft picks. And so I just, the first thing I did, I looked for number 24. I had to find him. Ryan Matthews, the new stud out of Fresno State. So I'm literally 10 feet from these guys. So he has been assigned that number? Yeah, he's 24. That's. Really cool to me because they ain't going to give him his number in college. No. 21. 21. They're not going to give him that number. No way. That would be painful. Right. Yeah. So I'm watching him line up. I'm watching the coaches flip balls to him, and he's catching them and tucking them and running. Dude, I mean, granted, it's practice. There's notepads. Dude's fast. Is he? Dude's fast. Quick? Fast, quick. He's got hands. He was catching balls out of the backfield. It was rad. Now, the thing that I was really, I mean, Woodsy told me everything about it. I said, start from the beginning. Just tell me what it was like. He told me something about Norv Turner that I really liked. So about halfway through the practice, Norv, I finally am able to spot him. There's a lot of cooks in the kitchen, so to speak, out there. I mean, a lot of dudes telling you what to do, where to go. And I'm watching Jonathan Crompton, who is a...
Draft pick that we got out of Tennessee. He's going to be a third string guy. He's kind of a project. The guy's got a cannon. He's got a really good arm. And I'm watching him drop back and sling balls down the field. I mean, he's throwing 40-yard bombs. So this kid lays out for one. I can't remember the kid's name. But he lays out for one off his fingertips. He rolls over and he's like. Damn it. You know, he gets up and runs right back. And so I'm expecting Norv to be like, hey, good hustle. You know, any time you dive for a ball, it's usually you get the good hustle. Norv gives the guy this. Hey, if you're going to dive, you better catch it. Nice. As loud as can be. And I'm sitting there, I'm like. Whoa. I love it because the rap on Norv is that Norv doesn't get up in the players' faces, that he's pretty passive, that he's soft. And so it's nice to hear that Norv was getting on these dudes. It was pretty cool, man. But, you know, I was telling Mike, it was hard because I was watching this stuff and I'm like, dude, hustle. Like, I'm looking at a couple of these guys. I'm like, run, run, run. What are you doing? Like, they're like kind of candy, you know, candy assing their way through it. And I'm like.
Dude, you're trying to make a team here. You weren't even drafting. You better move. And I told Woodsy. Woodsy tells me that, and I go, Dude, I don't know if you guys have ever seen this documentary on HBO, which is pretty gritty. It's called Hard Knocks, and they show everything. They don't edit anything. Locker room scenes? Locker, everything. I mean, they do. Guys getting cut, the whole thing. Yeah. But they will show these guys that are trying to make teams, and they're living out of these crappy little apartments and stuff. And I said when Woodsy told me that some of these guys are just... not really putting effort into it i'm like dude do they really want to like come on you can have you you have such a cool thing at your fingertips go for it don't ruin it don't squander this opportunity well i did see a few future insurance salesmen out there too i mean there's just no question you look at me like yeah no they just don't want it i'm more agile than some of the guys that were out there if that tells you anything but yeah it was you know hey man i'm standing on the sidelines i'm watching the chargers practice i'm like This is rad. This is really, really cool. And I'll tell you, man, Diedrich Epps is this tight end. I think he was their last draft pick. Really close to the bottom. Guy's like double my size and height. I mean, he's a monster. So it was just a really cool thing. We're lucky to be a part of being able to do something like that. I can't wait for football season. Me too. I'm going to be a different chick.
It's going to be fun. Also, Tiger Woods longtime golf coach Hank Haney resigned on Monday night. That's pretty tough for Tiger, too, because his swing is really out of whack. Here he is talking to reporters about it. Cut one. Changing anything in my swing. Yeah, don't hit it left and don't hit it right. I'd like to change that. I also like to make more putts and shoot lower scores. Well, you know, I got to say, they ask those obvious questions. Would you like to improve your swing? No, I wouldn't. I'm good. No, I think it's perfect. How about your scores? No. I like his little sense of humor. Yeah. Nice. So nobody really knows why Hank quit. I mean, Hank, they've been together about six years, and Hank just said it was time to move on. So Tiger's life is kind of in the toilet these days, dude. And the Lake Show dropped the hammer last night, 111-96, over the Jazz to move on to the Western Conference Finals. They will play the Suns. Should be a good matchup, man. I think both teams swept. So here's Kobe talking about the next series, cut two. Every series is different. You have to start over again. So you have to rebuild the energy, rebuild the momentum, rebuild the focus. The team that we play in the next series is completely opposite than the team we just faced. It's going to be a heck of a challenge to try to refocus.
Speaking of opposite, Kobe and I have absolutely nothing physically in common. Facial hair. They both have goatees from time to time. Is that right? And do you guys know the name Brian Cushing? Who's Brian Cushing? Oh, yeah. He played for the Texans. He was the defensive rookie of the year last year, but he's about to be stripped of his award after testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs. He'll have to sit the first four games of 2010. I'm sure he's the first NFL guy to ever use performance-enhancing drugs. Maybe they'll hold a congressional hearing like they did with my great game of baseball. Do you think anyone ever gets away with doing that? Oh, yeah. Really? It seems like they always are getting caught. They find ways of doing it, right? Yeah, for sure. And Senator Robert Menendez is urging the Major League Baseball Players Association to go ahead and boycott the Major League Baseball All-Star game that's in Arizona next year. It's 2011, based on Arizona's new law to crack down on illegals.
Padres first baseman Adrian Gonzalez has come out and said if he's elected, he's not playing. Really? It wouldn't be the first time Arizona lost a major sporting event. You know, they had an invite to host the Super Bowl in 93. Yeah. But they rescinded the offer after they realized that Arizona does not celebrate or appreciate Martin Luther King Day. Oh, yeah. I do remember that. It doesn't? That's weird. They don't. Yeah, and then one more story, Mike. Ken Griffey Jr., everybody knows that name. He's now back with Seattle Mariners. And there was a game last week, and they were looking for a pinch hitter. They couldn't find Ken Griffey Jr. Why? He's in the clubhouse. He was taking a nap in the middle of a game. Yeah, dead asleep. Dead asleep in a chair. You've got to be kidding me. Yeah, he's about 40-something years old. And a couple of the players were like, oh, yeah. How does that happen? Yeah, he's tired, dude. They said, well, you know, he's... They said he's away from his family. Are you kidding me? And he's away from his family. He doesn't sleep very well at night. And I'm like, dude's been playing for 20 years. He's been away from his family for 20 years. Guy's just getting old. Had to grab a quick nap, dude. That's unbelievable. Yeah, he's dead asleep. Catch some Z's. How do you wake him up? Mr. Griffey Jr., stop, man. Mr. Griffey Jr. Mr. Griffey Jr., wake up. Excuse me, sir. I hate to...
Wake you from your nap. We got a game going on out here. Do I drop the junior? Do I not say the junior? Yeah, we're trying to win a pennant out here in Seattle. So we'll pay you about $8 million a year. Oh, my gosh. That is Woods on sports. So I don't know if you guys heard about this, but there was apparently a guy that was arrested for biting a police dog. Wow. Well, there was some other stuff he did first. This happened yesterday morning around 5.30 a.m. And this guy was over by University Heights. tampering with someone's truck. And another witness saw him in there take a metal object out of the bed. And so the guy called the cops. The cops showed up. This guy who was tampering with the vehicle had already driven off in a stolen Mitsubishi. The cops found the car. Long story short, they sent out the police dog. The police dog chases after this guy. They roll down a hill and the guy bites the police dog. How do you even get in a position to bite a dog? That's so... So true. How do you do that? They rolled down a 15-foot hill. The dog did bite him a couple times. He was choking the dog. He bit the dog on the head trying to get the dog to release him. It was like this whole deal. Want to hear the 911 call? Yeah. 911, what is your emergency? Hi, this is Officer Steve, and I was trying to call in on my walkie-talkie back to central base control area place, and it wasn't working.
And so I figured, you know what, I'll just call 911 and try to get this figured out. Okay, officer, what can I do for you? Down here in Mission Beach, and some clown bit my police dog. Your dog bit somebody? Yeah, he did. Okay, so your dog bit a gentleman? Yeah, his name is Rusty. The dog's name is Rusty, the canine, and the guy that bit him is gone. Oh, the guy bit the dog? Yeah, the guy bit the dog. Okay. Yep. Is that him in the background? Yes, ma'am. May I speak to the dog? Yeah, hold on. Hello. Hi. Hi. Where are you located? I'm in Mission Beach. I'm actually sitting at a bar right now. Oh, okay. See a vodka gimlet? On the rocks. Rocks. Rocks. I want rocks. What, I want a shot of vodka gimlet? I want rocks. Jeez, come on. Yeah. Have you sustained any injuries? Yeah, I got bit my leg. Oh, okay. So you provoked the man, then? No, no, no, no, no. I did not provoke the man. He bit me. Okay. I'm sitting here licking my wounds, literally. Okay. Well, I can go ahead, and I can send a unit over to the bar. Now, listen, sweet. You're going to need to send somebody down here. Okay, I'm going to knock back a couple of cocktails, and then, yeah, I'm going to need to take a trip down to the vet or the hospital, either one. Okay.
I assume that you have somebody with you that can... Yeah, keep the change, pal. Enjoy. You have somebody with you that can walk you or do anything like that? Yeah, yeah, I'll be fine. I'll go poop you on the sidewalk. You're going to have to have that picked up. Yeah, he'll pick it up. He always does. Okay. All right. We'll go ahead and send a unit down. I'll be looking for him. Okay. See you. Bye. He always does. He always does. The dog's irritated. He just sounds irritated. Look at the picture of the guy who bit the dog. Of course he did. Look at him. Idiot. He looks like someone who would bite a dog. 100%. Wow. He's a dog biter for sure. It's the little scary side. Dog biter. That's a dog biter right there. One look at him. I know he bites canines. 100%. Look at him. Idiot. So yesterday. Was it yesterday that this thing happened with you you were talking about? When was it? Yesterday after our meeting. Lauren. As an idiot. Tell this story. Oh, it's so embarrassing. So yesterday I went to Whole Foods. Weird. Yep. Pick up a little booch, a little kombucha. Mm-hmm. Write that down. Right. Because we got out of here, so. It's 7 p.m. Yeah, exactly. I had a meeting with Garrett after our.
After our meeting yesterday. Oh, then you did get out of here at 7. Detroit! Yeah. Our program director. I heard about the history of Philadelphia. You don't say. What about Seattle? Yeah. Well, Seattle was thrown in there a few times. Detroit didn't get as much love as I was hoping. That's weird. Want to hear my imitation of Garrett having a nightmare? Yes. Yeah. Detroit! Seattle. Ah, Philly. Philly, Philly, Philly. Philly, Philly, Philly, Philly. So what happened? So anyway, so I go to Whole Foods and it's like rush hour. So I'm like, oh, I'll just, you know, I'll just get a little snackaroo here. So I sat down at the little food court there and I'm like sitting there and I'm writing bits for the show. I'm like cracking myself up. And then all of a sudden I noticed like people are looking at me. And I'm like, oh. That's right. Yeah. Big shot. Yeah. So I was like, oh, that's good. This is like a mother and a daughter. And I was like, and they're like kind of looking at me and then like sneaking glances and talking to each other. And I'm like, oh.
I think they might know who I am. Oh, yeah. And then it happened, like, a few more times, people. So I was, like, feeling pretty big time. I'm, like, you know, the billboards. Yes, I am Lauren O'Brien. Yeah. Yeah, okay. She'd have given the wave every once in a while, like, yes. I know. 10 if you want an autograph. That's right. Yeah. You know, our billboards just got out, and I was, like, maybe the Mikey show's getting some serious notoriety. That's right. A.K.A. your girl. That's right. So anyway, so I was, like, feeling a little weird about it, but I felt a little cool. So I just go, you know, shuffle off to my car. Then I'm driving. Please, no more autographs. So then I'm like halfway through driving home and I just glance in the rearview mirror. I had a giant glob of yogurt hanging there. Why am I not surprised by that? Why? Of course you did. Pepper in your teeth, too? Of course you did. You have pepper in your teeth? Probably granola, a couple blueberries, strawberry seeds. How do you not know this? I don't know. I don't know because I was, I think because I was like leaned over writing, you know, and like, oh, that's a good one, you know, and I'm a klutz and an idiot. Maybe that's going to happen.
It's going to happen to her. That's amazing. Yeah. I know. I'm so not surprised. My face turned like beet red and I was by myself. I'm like, wow, I am an a-hole. Fantastic. Fantastic. Here I am being like, ooh, super cool. Finally, somebody else that's like me. That happened to me too. Yeah. Oh. Yeah. Like a booger hanging or something the whole time. 100%. We're talking like some something about Mary. Yeah. That's hysterical. You ever do that, too, where you're walking around somewhere? Maybe you're just sitting and somebody's sitting close by you and they got a bat in the cave. Oh, yeah. Big bug. Big bug right in the nostril. Yep. And you're like, you will tell them, Jay? I told you yesterday a little shtuckus in your tooth. What about a stranger, though? What a stranger? I told a stranger that his fly was down. You did? Yeah. I've told people their fly was down. Without even asking, I fix women's tags. You do? Lauren! No way! Would you be okay with that, Sienna? Some girl reaching and putting your tag down, but you didn't know her? I wouldn't do it in Walmart. If it was some creepy guy, I'd be like... I'll do their thong, too. If their thong's sticking out, I'll just kind of put their thong back in. It's even weirder because he does it with a broomstick because he doesn't know what's going on. 570-1949.
That was like in for a while, the thongs hanging out. I felt like girls thought that was like a fashion. Some girls still do. It was like a starter to a lawnmower. I wanted to just walk up and grab it and go. It's disgusting, is it? That's phenomenal. I hate it, do I? It's so trashy, is it? I hate it, do I? There are certain things that girls will do that other girls despise. Oh, that's one of them. Can I ask women to be honest about something? I wonder if women ever do this. I wonder if women ever look at other women doing something really trashy and they can't stand it. And part of the reason, subconsciously maybe, not even on a conscious level, what they don't like is that those women are getting attention for it and they're thinking to themselves, I can't do that because I have class. And men are paying attention to them and their... classless, and I have class, and I would never do that, but guys are checking them out, and I'm getting passed over because they're checking them out. Does that happen? Jealousy. I'm just trying to think of an example. I mean, I'm sure it's happened. Okay, imagine that you are sitting on a bus in La Jolla. Wait, that doesn't exist. Let's say... That doesn't exist either. Let's say you're sitting at a gingerbread house made of solid gold in La Jolla. I've never done that.
And it's a public gingerbread house made of solid gold. All right. Okay. And so there's another girl there. Now, you're dressed appropriately and classy. But there's some other girl there, and she's got the cans that are, like, showing to the world. Right. And she's got the thong hanging out. Excuse me. They don't show to the world. They yell. I cover them. I try to cover them. You got them covered. But let's say some girl's in there, and she's showing everything. She's got the thong hanging out. And guys are walking by, and they're really checking. In fact, they're saying hello to her, blah, blah, blah. Yeah. Does a girl ever think to herself, I can't stand that. And you're not, yeah, you're saying slut. You're not thinking to yourself that there's any jealousy involved on a conscious level. Because they're not getting the kind of attention that, like, you really want. Yeah. Like, you're getting, like, the googly eyes. And I don't think they're walking by going, hello, miss. I think they're getting the holy cannoli, like, double take kind of thing. And I don't, you know. You buying that, Woods? Yeah. I think there's maybe not jealousy, but maybe a little bit of a like irritation. I've got those too. And maybe you don't need to ruin it for all of us. Yeah. What about the girls that like this? I can be jealous sometimes, but it's weird. Of what? The girls with like the little cute boobs that are just like little and perky and small and they don't have to wear a bra. The other side of the grass. And guys are like, grass is always greener. Yeah, but I mean, you can still wear a bra, chick.
You know? Oh, yeah, yeah. But the guys are checking it out because she's not wearing a bra. Because she's small and picky. I don't like that, though. Yeah, but I'm not saying, like, ooh, you know, she looks great because she's not wearing a bra. I think it's gross. This is 1975. But I think, man, I wish I didn't have to wear one, you know? Maybe wear a bra. Yeah. So many girls don't. This isn't a commune. If they're wearing, like, a little strapless dress or something like that, and they can pull off no bra, they do it. Looks weird, doesn't it? Let's say hallelujah. Really? I hate the big padded bras. It's like false advertising. Agreed. I would never, ever, this is me. I can't tell a padded bra from a non-padded. If you can see a little shelf. There's like a ledge at the top of their boobs. There's like a big ledge where their shirt kind of falls in. You're like, really? You can drop quarters in there. Is there a name for the girl that wears the bra that's way too small? And so she's got four boobs. Yeah, it's called hot. Ew, it is not hot. Sometimes you can't help it, all right? It's a girl. You know what I'm talking about? I know what you're talking about. That's on purpose. It is? No, of course it is. It's like the push and the in and the over. And it's hanging over all the way in. You are? Yeah. Isn't it usually a girl that's kind of, you know? Larger. Okay, you guys.
The way I'm thinking about it, because I have that problem sometimes, is where they kind of come out. You have to retouch them in. You're like an anomaly. I was thinking like the... Like 53-year-old prostitute. Wow. Whoa. Holy Toledo. In generalities. Maybe their birthday's in May. Only in generalities. Isn't it basically a wonder bra that you're talking about? The one that pushes them out? Like where they're just barely in there? They're just like... Water bra. They have the water ones too. Chicken cutlets. I was at a taco stand weird. Weird. And there was a gal that was in line and she... had a lot of bright red lipstick on. Weird. And she was wearing a red top that was very low cut. And I wanted to say, well, I didn't want to say, but I was thinking in my head, they make bras that fit. Yeah. This one didn't fit. It was too small. And so they were going, who are you complaining about it? Yeah, maybe this guy's, you like it? And also, now I'd have to see said red lipstick chick, but sometimes,
With certain women, if your weight fluctuates, that's the first place that stuff goes. So you're not going to run out. Weight goes right to my ass every time. You're not going to buy new bras. Sometimes you just wait it out or, you know. I don't know anything about it. Does it have a name that does that? Trashy? Wow. See, that's the bit. I'd have to see said red lipstick wearer. It's like this weekend. Like I'll be doing that Mission Beach pageant. That's not trashy. Jamie will be like, really? Really? God, how do you do that? Like, she's going to be hysterical. It's what the ladies do. They do. When they're men, they're like, oh, that is so trash. Like, they're talking us. No, there's a difference between trashy and sexy. I have a feeling the girls that'll be at the pageant are going to be sexy. Shut up, Lauren. My wife listens. Shut up. Sexy, intelligent women. Yeah. Beautiful, sexy, intelligent women. I know this guy. There's an 80-year-old woman that sang a song on the TV show. Britain's Got Talent, 80 years old of audio of it. And she's the one that moved on in the episode. I don't follow the show. I just know 80-year-old singing. I want to hear it. That's what she sang. The Craig and O'Reilly song. I'll play you the audio next.

I'm Stacey Cohen, FM 94.9. KBCT San Diego, Lincoln Financial Media Station, the new home. Of the Mikey Show. This is FM 94.9. Did you see this guy? Was that on Facebook, Woods? Yeah, dude. Talk about it. M1 Jordan. So I just was checking the Mikey Show page, and this guy is my new hero. He says, Woods, I picked up a few words from you. My favorite word is get. I constantly tell my girlfriend to get, and she can't stand it. That's funny, Jordan. My wife can't either. I heard that there's little kids that are saying it. They are. Did you guys say that? Yeah. So as a practical joke, when my girlfriend and I were out, I had my brother put up a giant vinyl sticker in our living room. Now I don't have to say it. I just point. It's amazing. You know that. Yeah. And so on this guy, like above his sectional couch, it's a giant vinyl git. In quotes. In quotes. Next to it, there's a poster in a frame. It's about as big as this poster. It's huge. Poster size. It's big. Oh, it's giant. It looks like the whole wall. If you want to see it, go to Facebook.com.

So an 80-year-old woman was on Britain's Got Talent. You guys ever heard of that show? Of course. Oh, yeah. And she was singing a song called No Regrets. Now, I was looking at this. Alice in Chains, right? No, it is not. Different artist. No regrets. This woman is 80 years old. Her name is Jamie Cutler. Love her already. An 80-year-old named Jamie?
Janie. Janie. Oh, Janie. Like Jane. Oh, okay. Janie. And Janie Cutler sang this song from Shirley Bassey. Now, this song came out in 1963. Oh. So I did the math on it. She would have been 33 years old when this song was on the radio and a hit. Now, this is what's interesting to me. I like to think back and think what was going on in the mind of this 33-year-old woman because this song has stuck with her. Yeah. For 46 years. And for whatever reason, she still has it in her mind or heart, whatever. Yeah. And so I like to put myself into the mind of this 33-year-old woman that, what was it about this song? Maybe it was the first dance or something at her wedding. Could be. Hello. How are you? Fine. Good. Fine. Fine. Fine. Fine. Fine. What's your name, darling? Pardon? What's your name?
Janie Copley. Okay. And if you don't mind me asking Janie, how old are you? 80. 80? I love her. I love her a lot. Is she Scottish or something? Scottish or Irish. Irish. One of the two. And Janie, why have you auditioned for the show? Well, I like singing, so nothing says go for it. Unbelievable. And I love drinking. Yeah. Like scotch and vodka. Mind. All right, good luck. Will you, Morris? Off you go. I'm so nervous. Falsetto Friday. Or vibrato Friday. What? The rascal at 33. I love her. She's a rascal. Think she's ever had a cold cocktail? You think so? A couple of 80-year-old men watching this on TV going, oh, it's Janie, isn't it? Oh, Janie Cutler. Oh, look, it's Janie Cutler. I remember her well. If it isn't Janie Cutler. I can see her chicken neck going right here.
gorgeous today. As she was 46 years ago. You said farty. I didn't. I said farty. As she was farty years ago. With her big grandma panties all the way up underneath her boobs. You're disgusting. Jay thinks about her panties. Yeah, Jay's thinking about her underwear. Grandmas don't wear panties. Creeper. Thank you very much. You wear thongs. You know that. Oh, gross. Crotchless. Okay. Wow. Edible goods are so... Edible. That's what Betty White does. Yuck. Betty White wears the boy shorts. I just threw up my mouth. Yeah. 1963. That's cool. That was great. That's not what I was expecting. You go, like, down and up. He's shaking the gobbler. Disgusting. This was one of my favorite topics that we did last week, so we're going to bring it back. Now, the reason that we're... And you can call us, too, 570-1949. You can text us, 949mikey at gmail.com. This tickled me to do. Almost as much as that. What's the time of his life right now? That's going to be your new ringtone, I guarantee it.
Ow, you're pinching your neck. Jeez. Just FYI, I'll be dropping some of those throughout the rest of the show. Of course you will. I don't know what that means. Did you say FYOB? I said FYI. It means for your information. Why'd you say B? Maybe that's the way it was sung back then. Really? Of course it was. Maybe the original sounds exactly like it. It's very, like... Vibrato. Show tune. I just crushed my larynx. Why are you doing that? Stop pinching your neck. Larynx? It's like making my neck hurt. Want to hear the original? Yes. More than anything. All right, here's what the original sounded like from Shirley Bassey. Shirley Bassey. Oh, that's Shirley. Maybe that's not Shirley. Sounds like Melissa Etheridge. That's a man. Sorry. That was like... Is that Keith Urban's? Yeah.
Maybe they don't have it. Maybe Shirley's a dude. No regrets. Yeah, they don't have it. Aw, too bad. Oh, that hurts. Oh, I stand corrected. Yes. No regrets. Wow. Her voice kind of does it. A lot of vibrato. That's the original. She's right on point. See? If by on point you mean way off target, then yeah, absolutely. What did the judges say to Janie? Did they like her? I hope they were nice to little Janie. Oh, they absolutely loved Janie. In fact... Is she coming back? How many years have you waited to do that? 422. I'm just thankful I am here tonight. So basically she didn't hear what he just said. Yeah.
He's like, I'm going to ask you one more time. And this time, I'd like an answer, if you don't freaking mind. Okay, moment of truth, Janie. Here's yes or no. Oh, absolutely a massive yes. That's sweet. So dramatic. Wait, okay. I think the royal family would love you, so I'm going to say yes. Does that have to be really? Is that the ultimate prize? Yeah. Yeah, the ultimate deal is if the royal family loves you. They sing in front of them. Look at that. A year's worth of haggis. Did anyone else think it was good? I thought it was really good. For what she was, yeah. If she was 30 and singing that, you think she would have gotten through? For an 80-year-old vibrato queen, I thought it was pretty good. Not bad. No regrets. All right, so let's bring this back. We were talking about this last week, and it turned into a pretty big deal. We were talking about...
Things that skeeve you. Things that gross you out. Things that skeeve you. Eggshells in my eggs. Yep. Awful. The worst. I just thought of one when I looked at you, Mike. Go ahead. That's nice, by the way. Yeah. When I saw your face, I know. Disgusting. Skeeve me up. That's nice. When guys get food caught in their facial hair. Great. Oh, that is filthy. Do I have food in my facial hair? No, no, no. But I just looked at you. Yeah, there's a Reese's Pieces dangling from what he had. You've got some egg yolk. There's a full turkey leg dangling from your beard. Willie Nelson just fell out of your beard. Yeah, he just fell out with a banjo and ran out of the room. Disgusting. So, you want to hear something that we got texted to us from listeners? Of course I do. 949mikey at gmail.com. I think it's one of those days where we're just not all right. You ready? We're just out of it. Bring it in. Bring it home. Use band-aid ski jeans? Oh, yes. They do? Yes. I saw one on the floor of my grandma's retirement home. That's worse. I saw one in a pool one time. Oh, one time? One time? That's like the M.O. of the pool. You ever seen the skimmer of a pool? That's where they catch you. It's like a little drain that you have to clean it out. Imagine finding one in there. Did that get you? Yeah. We found a dead rat in our pool the other day. It was all bloated, just kind of floating around. Filthy. That's disgusting. How about people that will lick their fingers while they're cooking?
You know, like they test the thing. They test the sauce. I do that. Yeah, and then they serve it up for you real good. Probably 90%, 95%, 99% of all cooks in restaurants do that. You can call us, 570-1949. Or text us, 949mikey at gmail.com if you have one of these things that skeeves you out. This one gets me for sure. People that are cooking and sweating. Profusely. That's disgusting. You've seen it, right? Yeah, for sure. I've seen it a lot in movies, like in The Godfather, when they're cooking and they're just pouring sweat. I've seen it a lot in kitchens. You do. That's gross. They've got the big rings of sweat under the armpit. That's one thing that gets me, sweat rings on girls. Yes. Sweat stains, sweat rings. On guys, too. Right? On guys and girls. But I mean, when I see a girl with pit stains, I'm like... What about used coffee filters? Yeah, nasty. It gets me. With the coffee grounds still in them. Yeah. Disgusting. It doesn't get me. I clean those all the time, so they don't get me too bad. Have you ever seen? I do. I clean those. I take it out every morning, but it's the wet paper with the grinds. I don't touch it. You ever leave it in there for about a month, and then you get the mold on the grinds? Oh, it's the worst. Moldy orange peel. That's pretty gross. That is gross. Have you ever seen anyone share their cereal?
Like, I saw someone take a bite out of someone else's cereal and I almost threw up. That's skeevy. You don't share cereal. That's skeevy. You're right. No, you don't. No. There's something really gross about it. I just hit the mother load in my head. What is it? What is it? Have you ever, like, what kind of cheese do you buy for the house for a sandwich? Buy those Kraft American singles? Yeah. You ever get the hard, crusty corner? Yeah. Oh. You will see me melt. That's a mother load for me. That's number one. I got the best one on the planet. You never heard that word? No, I said that's the motherland. That's the motherland. That's probably the worst type of cheese for you. Weird. I don't care. It tastes so good. American? Yeah, it's individually wrapped. It's craft. It's got like 14 glasses of milk in each slice. Don't you watch the commercials? Yeah, it's so much preservatives and junk. Calcium. Not to mention individually wrapped with plastic. The Velveeta ones are really good, too. I don't like Velveeta, but I love, but you get that crusty brown hard corner. The hard thing. How about the smell of hospitals?
I hate hospitals. I do too. I think they smell clean, but somebody texted us and said the smell of hospitals completely skeeves them. It smells like disease to me. There's two schools of thought. Some people see hospitals and they see healing and do good. And then there's me, who's a weirdo, who I feel like I'm instantly sick as soon as I walk through the door. I kind of do too. I see death. Yeah, me too. Good morning, everybody. It's 7.15. I see dead people. Everywhere. What about the sticky goo in movie theaters? That's always fun. That's always left by me. What's sticky goo? You know when you're walking in a movie theater and it's like... Oh, yeah. What is that? It's Coca-Cola that's dried up. Coca-Cola, snuff. Yeah. It's all that. It's all me. Yeah, it is. What about fingers that are being dragged across an inflated balloon? That's bad. Just popping a balloon in general. Styrofoam rubbing against itself. That is bad. That's bad. You go to 7-Eleven, you get one of those styrofoam coolers, and you take the top off, and when the top comes off, it goes... I hate anything that has to do with saran wrap. The sound of saran wrap, the feeling of saran wrap. Me and saran wrap do not get along. A little bit of a rabbit trail. How did saran wrap ever make it out of a boardroom? I don't know. What about foil? Foil is the ultimate. Saran wrap, though. When somebody came into a boardroom, they took saran wrap.
And they said, I got this idea. I made it. What do you think? And it's got the little jagged edge to tear it, right? That will slit your throat. Every time I cut my finger. It will slit your throat. Every time. Cut your head off. Yeah. But the first time they did it, what happened? Same thing that happens to all of us. You tear it off and it bunches up on it. Yeah. And you spend 20 minutes trying to get the saran wrap separated so you can put it on whatever you put it on. It's the worst. I'm like, I hate you, saran wrap. I hate you. And then you walk in to get your stuff the next day and half of it is. has moved off of the bowl and into the bowl of the food that you're using. So it's like half covered. You can't even get a smooth rip when you rip it. It's like half of it. We have satellites up that give us DirecTV, but we can't figure out saran wrap. It's just because it's cheap. That's why it keeps getting produced. Is that why? Yeah. Because my wife swears by it. M1 Maggie, you there? Yeah, I'm here. What skeeves you out? Well, like when people will let their dogs lick their mouths. You don't worry about it. 100%. You don't worry about it. Woods. I do it all the time. He does. I'll do this. Sticking his tongue out. Like when something about Mary like that? Yeah. They lick my lips. Maggie, do you hear that? Woods, he lets his dogs do that.
It's my babies. It's so gross. I love my black lab. They lick each other. They eat the poop. Say that again, Maggie. I love my black lab, but I won't let her near my mouth. I mean, she licked her butt. Yes, you guys. Exactly. Woodsy. Come on. Mine don't do that. Mine are classy. They are. Yeah, okay. Mine are from Milan. They're from Milan. Stop it. M1 Molly, what skis you out? Guys, especially, when they do this, they clip their toenails and they, like, just throw them, like, on the carpet. Ew. Ew. People do that? Yeah. Toss them? Yeah. Found a claw this morning. What about pick your teeth with it? Is that gross? Woodsy. Oh my gosh, Woods. Oh my gosh. Does that skeeve you out? Woodsy. Your toenails? Filthy. I've done it before to skeeve Jamie out. I like to mess with my wife. I like to skeeve her out. She does. Toenails are dirty. She hates nails. Toenails really skeeve her out. Ew. His wife, Jamie. And so I'll cut one and go, what's this? No! You are a cruel, cruel man. It's the filthiest thing. It's the filthiest thing ever.
Why haven't they figured that out, too? How come there's no device that we could stick on our feet that'll catch? Because every time I clip my tunnels, they go, ping, 14 feet across the room. That's the fun part, though. I find them two years later. You have to clip them outside. Is that what you do? I do it over the toilet bowl and try to angle down so that they... Good idea. That's a great idea. What do you do? You go outside, Sienna? I go outside, yeah. Really? You go camping? No. You design a camping trip to clip the nails? I still throw them away, but if one flies away, at least it's outside. Put them in the garden. Yeah, do you? You grow little toenails, plants. M1 Kate. All right, hey. What skeeves you out? Cracked heels on feet. Oh, yeah. Got them. I get them sometimes. Got them. Everyone gets them. And I'm pregnant now, and all of a sudden, I look down, and I've bought a cracked... Yeah. They make special lotion for that. No, mine aren't cracked yet. Puts the lotion in the brush. Then when you get into your sheets, it's like, ew. You know I've ripped sets of sheets with my toenails before? I'm not surprised. Write that down, by the way. It's already a rejoinder. For real? Oh, I've said that already? Yeah, I've done it before. That's hideous. Yeah, Jamie's like, I married you. Perfect. Snaggle feet. Snaggle feet. Mountain feet. How about you clip your nails every once in a while, bud? Yeah, bite them. M1 Malone.
Yeah, I'm here. What skeeves you out? Oh, man, people that eat chicken with eggs. Yeah, I don't like that either. I'm really confused. Chicken? In other words, let's say for breakfast you have fried chicken with eggs. Yeah. Done it. Delicious. What about salmon with eggs? I hate that. Sienna, are you still tripping on that? Wait, but why would you do that? It would be like... Go to Ash House. Is that on a menu? Yeah, it's because eggs come from a chicken. And you're eating chicken. And you're eating chicken. That's a little weird. I'd eat it. You're eating mama and baby? Right. I'd eat it. It's a little weird. I get what you're saying. I do too. Thank you. No problem. That's M1 Malone. What about like a dirty makeup bag? I hate that. My makeup bag is filthy. No, but you know, you probably see your... You should see my mask bag right now. Oh, it's disgusting. It's like all the... I mean, it happens. It's inevitable. It happens, but it just is so gross. I think I can say this, but... When you go in to use number one and there's something on the thing or the toilet, it skews me out. And you know what I mean. And I see it and I'm like, and I imagine it caught in the back of my throat. And I'm like, oh. You actually do that? Yeah, I do. I'm like, oh, oh, oh. Proving once again that we're all children and grown up bodies. I imagine. I do. That's a 34-year-old man that just said that. Why would you just block it out? Because I look at it because I stare at it the whole time and I'm like, why is it there? Why is it there? Why is it there? Why is it there? Why is it there?
M1 John is calling in to say something that, and I've heard a lot of stuff. Oh, boy, yes. Never heard this before. John, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. Tell everybody what your wife does. My wife and my daughters are following their footsteps. When they take their shower, hair comes out of their head. I think it's a girl thing, but when they're done with it, they throw it on the wall and just leave it there. Of the shower. And then I roll him in and there's this big hairy monster just ready to get me. So they take it and they'll clean it from the drain and then they'll throw it on the shower. Dude, get a divorce. Get a divorce. That's his daughter doing it too. They'll throw it on the shower tile? Yeah, right on the wall. Well, I guarantee they think that they're doing you a favor. It's so disgusting. John, have you ever discussed it with her? Oh, yeah. What does she say? I don't know. She doesn't say that it's for me. She puts it there, I don't know, to remind her that she's losing her hair or something. I don't know. Dude, I want to interview her. Yes. I guarantee it's because she doesn't want to clog the drain. I know, but she just forgets to take it. I understand, but you don't think... So when you're dead, you take it off the wall. Yeah, I mean, I understand. It makes sense. Sienna, do you think that there's any part of it that's absolutely filthy and hideous? I think it's hideous, yeah. So aren't you a little curious, like, how that began? I think it's a bit.
What do you mean? I think it's a bit like I do the toenails on Jamie's pillow. I think it's a bit. No, I don't think so. 100%. For sure, because I told her, that is disgusting and I hate it. It's a bit, for sure. Oh, John, I wish that you could get her to call us. Yeah, do it. Can you please? Yeah. If we put you on hold, if we put you on hold, can we get her number? Yeah, yeah. And call her? Yes. Hang on. Oh, that's gold. Fascinating. I used to work with a girl who would take off her glasses and use the ends of her glasses to clean her ears while I was talking to her. No, while you were talking. I'll tell you who. I guarantee you know who that person is. Often. Well, obviously I'm not going to sit now. Oh, yeah. Guess who, guys? Katie Jones. So she would take her off her glasses. Yeah. And you're talking. She goes. And then she would wipe it on her clothes. Like this. Oh, my gosh. Stop doing that. In private, I'll use a ballpoint pen. Wow, you just showed me. You just showed me. In private, you'll use a ballpoint pen. You just wrote it and you showed me. And now I'm imagining it. Just imagine. Like, while we're having a conversation, I was like. Would this catch it? She's like. In her mouth. I would say stop and get out of my studio. Somebody's on the line that does the hair thing. Yes.
Is it the actual person, though, Jay? Is it the same person or somebody else that does it? Jay. Oh, sorry. I forgot I could use my mic. I was trying to talk to you through the glass. Yeah, somebody else. Somebody else. Crystal, are you there? Yeah. You do the hair thing where you throw the hair on the wall of the shower? I do. And I have really long hair, like, almost down to my rear. Is this Crystal Gale? Yeah, Crystal Gale. Yeah, kind of, you know, kind of the same way. Anyway, and my dad used to yell at me when I was in high school for not doing that because he would have to pull the hair out of the drain. And let me tell you, pulling the hair out of the drain is way worse than seeing it on the wall. So let me ask you, Crystal, did dad say, how many times do I have to tell you? When you're in the shower, take the hair out of the drain and throw it against the wall. How many times? Not taking it out of the drain and putting it on the wall. No. What? When you're taking a shower, the hair that you pull out, which I know Sienna having long hair probably has the same thing. Yeah, you run your fingers through your hair when you're doing the shampoo and conditioner. When you get to the bottom, it comes out in your hand. And you can drop it to go down the drain or you can just kind of throw it against the wall so it sticks. Uh-huh. And I just let it drop, you know. Yeah. I let it drop and then swipe at the end.
You swoosh it with your finger and then throw it away. Throw it away, yeah. I have to do it every time, otherwise there's a squirrel at the end of the month. Yeah, gross. And I clean it every time after my shower because it is gross to look at. Okay, so you take it out at the end of the shower. Okay, got it, got it. So that's what she's doing, but she's just not going the extra step. Oh, yeah. The other girl. The other girl lets it, yeah, the other girl lets it compile. Now that I have my own house, I know I'm going to be the one pulling it out of the drain, right? So I don't really want to be the one to do that. Fantastic. Is it bad that I just let it go down the drain? No. I don't see it piled up at all. It goes right down. You've never had to, you know, start backing up? No. A little drain on it. My dad's probably listening right now saying, oh, yes, it's been bad. My shower's 3,500 square feet, so. The hole is literally... It's a vacuum drain. It's a vacuum drain. Oh, that's awesome. We had three girls in our house, and my dad did the same bit. Like, was like, what is going on? And had, like, tools out and everything. I'm not kidding you. Oh, God. Squirrel. Yeah. You pull out so much hair. Squirrel. I would have vomited. I was almost. Oh, yeah. Because you do. The girls have long hair, and it comes out when you shower. Let me shave your head.
No, you lose like 150 hairs a day. Hey, did you guys know that the White House is notorious for getting stuff ripped off from it? Sure. I didn't know this, but Laura Bush started talking about what gets ripped off the most. Take it, think about that. What do you think gets ripped off the most? Can I guess? We'll discuss. We'll do the guess next. Okay. I think that people are going to like this. The Mikey Show. It's a good time, you know what I mean? Call 570-1949 or text 949mikey at gmail.com. Surf-wise today, it's another mess out there as the West-Northwest windswirl, groundswell combo.
Stays up in the waist and chest high zone, maybe even a few shoulder high ways out of it. But steady onshore westerly winds all night long have made it really blown out and sloppy just about everywhere right now. Those winds are starting to back off. It's going to take a little bit of something here to get it to clean up today because it is just a hodgepodge of different directions and angles. Maybe a beach park wave later in the day, evening time session, if the winds switch back around. Part of the cloudy skies right now looks like it's going to burn off a nice day, but it looks like it could be one more day of waiting. Better things to come, I think, tomorrow. When I used to look like Rerun. Sienna. When they're real, you know. Woods. I'm a napper. I love to nap now. Lauren. Yep, I admit when I'm wrong. And Jay. I love that sappy movie. On FM 94.9. M1 Rich.
Says, Mikey, I have a 10-year-old daughter, so I know how it is. For all those shower hair slingers, stick your hands outside the shower and drop that fur ball in the toilet. Ew. Works for us. Really? It seems like that would be bad, too. No. Hitting all over the place. Bad for the pipes. According to a plumber that was at my house a couple years ago, that's just as bad. I thought so. Hey, listen. This is the rap I hear. I hear that boys... Little boys are tough when they're little, and the girls are tough when they're older. It's a wrap I hear. 100% true. I hear when you ladies are teenagers, look out. Hell yeah. Man, get ready. Is it rough, Jay? Girls about 13 turn into evil. Yeah. Complete evil. Until then, they're so sweet. Their daddy's a little girl. Come sit in your lab. Give you hugs. Then you're like, then you could not suck more as a dad.
Meanwhile, little boys are sticking nails through tennis balls when they're kids. Light them on fire. That's what they do when they're little, but they grow up and they chill out. We tried to blow up a bridge, a little tiny bridge once. It was wooden, but we had this clubhouse at the end of the street, and there was a bridge that connected one side of the creek to the other. Like a footbridge? And we literally were like... Let's make a Molotov cocktail and try to blow that sucker up. That's boys. That's boys. That's boys. We're like 12 years old. That's twice today you've used that reference, and I don't know what that means. Molotov cocktail. It's like a bottle of gasoline, and you put a rag in it. Kids don't do this at home. Yeah, do not do that at home, ever. Yeah. Boys are bad for moms, though, because boys turn it. It's like, I don't know, it's the opposite, because little boys, as they get older, kind of bond with their dads. Like, Finn and I are super tight. But he and his mom love to go at it. That's the thing. I did that with my mom. I thought it was the complete opposite. Like me and my dad, tight as can be, it was my mom and I that fought all the time. I agree. You guys would go for it? Mm-hmm. Pretty rough? In high school. Moms just got it rough, I guess. Yeah, moms do. But they also have it good because who's the first person you'd thank? A lot of times if you're a rap artist, you'd thank God first, but then who are you thanking? My mama. Yeah, and the dudes too. Like thank my mom. Grandma. Right?
I mean, we do that. Everybody thinks back on it and goes, wow, mom was 100% right. I was an idiot. Because you want to be like you know everything. It's like you're trying to get out from underneath their wings, but mom knows everything. Yeah, that's 100% true. Mother knows best. Mother always knows best. I've got the greatest mama in the world, and I tell her so. All right, here we go. Laura Bush. Easy there. It's true. Tiger. Maybe you guys try it. Laura Bush. talking about the people that steal stuff at the White House. How many have the privilege of being to the White House? I always run into people who have souvenirs. Did you have to deal with that people swiping ash trays and little things from the White House? Well, you all might be really amazed to know that there is a lot of pilfering at the White House. One of the most popular things are the paper towels that are in the bathrooms that are stamped with the presidential seal. Oh, okay. And rumor has it that there's a very well-known television anchor woman who uses those towels in her own bathroom because she took so many when she came to the White House. I wonder who? Taylor knows all about Bill 3. I think I've heard that before. Does he? You've heard that? What anchor? I don't remember. Diane Sawyer.
Diane Sawyer. Katie Couric. Katie Couric. Something like that. But I remember hearing that before. Yeah, they want to steal it because it's got the seal on it and you can tell people, look where I was. If you take one, is that stealing? I thought they were going to say pens because it's like you don't really feel like you're stealing a pen, but it has the little White House logo on it. But if you're going to, what's the difference if you're going to like wipe your hands and throw it out between like taking it with you? Maybe you take the whole thing with you. Yeah, if you take the whole thing, that's one thing. Can I tell you guys that when I went to, I mean, I've never, I've been to the White House actually, but when I went to Graceland in Memphis, I'm a huge Elvis fan, and I'm walking through Graceland, and I'm literally looking, going, what can I steal? What can I steal? What can I steal? The whole time, I mean, I wanted a piece. Terrible. I wanted something. Weird. Yeah. Why is that terrible? Because you don't, who wants to go to a place and think to themselves, I'm going to steal. I'm going to steal. Because it's Elvis' house. I wanted a piece with me. If everyone did that, there'd be nothing left. Why don't you buy a souvenir? But I wanted something from the house. Take a picture. They have these ropes in front of the upstairs. I literally, I was like, what kind of trouble can I get in? What?
No, I'm just going to go. I wanted to go into his bedroom. I wanted to go in and see. You are a character. You wanted to blast cigs in his bed. I didn't do it. Yeah, I wanted to eat ham sandwiches and blast cigs in his bed. Yeah, I wanted to fall off of his toilet and reenact that. But dude, I wanted to run up those stairs and be like, out of my way. Get it tackled. And look and just see what's up there. So fascinated by that stuff. I stole from the Rolling Stones dressing room. I got this little coffin thing. I stole it from there. I put it in my pants. I had a bullet? Yeah. A coffin? It was like the top to a sarcophagus. They had it. It was like the voodoo. It was like Keith Richards blood. Last time I stole, I was five. I used to stick bubble gum down my pants. Great. Anybody want some? No. Let me tell you. I was so guilty about it. I had such a guilty conscience. Finally, when I was about 10, I went to my mother bawling one day because I couldn't take it anymore. Every day. Every single day. Really? Like a schizophrenic. Like, was a big issue in my life. Have I ever talked about that on the air? No, Jenna's done that same thing. Years have passed. Yeah. One day she'll be like, CNN? Yeah. You know, and then she'll come clean with this crazy confession. Yeah. And it's like, it's just been killing her. I remember my mom being really cool about it. Kids are so pure. They are. I was really, really convicted about it. I felt so awful that I had stolen, because I stole a lot of gum. She's probably proud of you. It's hard. You felt guilty about it. It's like you have to punish them.
You don't want to because they felt so bad and you can just tell. Yeah, she didn't punish me because I was bawling. Yeah. And it was like five years that it had happened, you know? And I had to come to her finally and go, Mom, I have something to have to tell you. And she said, what is it, my chubby little face? I said, I stole a car. Circle K. Oh, my God. And she went, what, sweetheart? And I said, I stole gum from the Circle K. I like how your tongue goes back and forth. Oh, Jabba the Hutt. Yeah, like Jabba the Hutt. I stole gum from the Circle K. Your tongue doesn't look real. She's like, hold on, hon. Take the Twinkie out of your mouth. Yes, sweetheart. Now say it. Swallow. Sweetheart, take that full pie out of your mouth. And tell me what you're trying to say. Stop eating the turkey drumstick. Yeah. And I said, that's not a turkey drumstick. That's my tongue. M1 Kyle is on the line. Hi, Kyle. NB Sports Microphone. Wow. Good call. Where? I was setting up, helping set up for the Super Bowl down here, the last Super Bowl in San Diego. And I was setting up the booth that Chris Collins worked and all the sportscasters. Oh, yeah.
Oh, my goodness. And it was sitting there. There was nobody there. I had my tool bags, and it went in the bottom of my tool bag. I had to have it. Yeah. It's got the little ring around it. This is NBC Sports. You got to have it. You got to have it. You got to have it. You got to steal, man. Where is that right now? No, I just hung up. Oh. When I was in college, that was like my MO. I would get drunk and steal random stuff. Really? Anything I could get my hands on. Wait a minute. I did steal something else. When I was 14 years old, my brother took me to a fraternity party in San Jose and I stole cologne. Weird. You stole it or you stole it? Rebecca always does that to me. What did I say? I stole it. That's not the word? No, I stole it. That's wrong, right? I stole it. Always correct me. It's stole? Stole. Stole. That sounds so... I stole it. It's steel and it's stole. When I was in high school, I went to a party and it was a girl I didn't like and it was her house and I took her perfume back. I was like, I'm taking it. You're like, you don't get... But it wasn't like a nice bottle. It was just like something I just took. It was like Chanel No. 5. I was like, she doesn't need this, idiot. It was only 400 an ounce. No. What are you going to do with that? It was like from Bath and Body Works, like body spray or something stupid. You're not going to get this ammunition. I don't. You're cute enough. I stole something bad. What?
A stop sign. My. Lori. I know. I stole something. He just said, Mike. I stole a stop sign from in front of the hospital. Really? Is that the worst? My goodness. How did you do that? I had friends who were sign stealers. I was like, really cool. That yield sign looks awesome in your room. Idiot. We uprooted it from the ground. It was on like an eight foot pole. Really? Carried it through campus. No way. You're such a rebel. You are a rebel. Such a weirdo. Yeah, I stole the street sign that said Shannon on it. Oh, my. No, don't applaud that. It's awful. Don't. Michael Shannon. Stealing is stupid. It's awful. Michael Shannon Lane. Oh, it's awful. It's the worst thing. It's so violating. And you feel really bad. Yeah. It serves. Yeah. Yeah. In the office? No. Can you have it? No. It was from years ago. It's probably in the Smithsonian. It's in the Smithsonian Institute. Welcome to the Michael Shannon exhibit. Have a seat and enjoy the film. You'll notice that there are handy wipes on the side of your chair. And as you walked in, you were handed fried chicken. The handy wipes will help you to wipe the grease off of your fingers. And when Joey... Last night, somebody broke into my car and stole my medical kit.
Excuse me, Joey. It's Joey, right? Yeah. Hold on just a moment. I'm going to scold Woods. You creep. Joey said she was violated last night. And Woods, he goes. And I quote. Oh, yeah. No, Woods. No. She meant no, Woods. She went that she. And you're being inappropriate. Yes, you are. She meant somebody stole somebody. What did they steal from you? It's my basically school supplies. Awful. Like your ruler and your pencils. And a blood pressure. Ugh. And my pen light. And it's really expensive to replace. Yeah. That's awful. Way to make us feel bad, Joey. And what do they want? Like, what do they want with that? They're just awful. I'm sending out a karma to hopefully, you know, it'll come back. That person. Give back the medical kit to Joey. Oh, I wish I could give back that street sign and I wish I could give back that cologne. I just remembered something I stole. What? Is it bad? Weed. What's worse than stealing something illegal? Listen to this. I stole some coke off a hooker. No, dude. I was in, I worked at a restaurant senior year in high school and I went to the bathroom and there was this girl's coat sitting there and I saw this plastic bag sticking out of one of the pockets and I'm like, that's a bag of weed. And I'm senior in high school, I'm like, and I looked at it and I go, I'm thinking in my head, this is how I rationalize. I'm like, what's she going to do? Go to the manager and go.
Somebody stole the weed out of my coat. So I grabbed it and put it in my pocket. You imagine this guy? It's my weed now. Give me that. It's my weed. Yep. Too bad for your own weed. Maybe you ought to watch your own weed, man. Get yourself a weed watch dog. Why was your coat just... It was hanging. It was a big bathroom with a locker area. Was she in there? She was working. You stole her pot while she was on the pot. Yeah, while she was on the pot. Easy teach. Yeah. We should hit some golf balls, pal. Yeah, we need to hit some golf balls. Really, guys? Every day this is going to be coming up and you're never going to do it. Maybe today. Oh, wow. Yeah, right. I saw a range that's really close to us. You guys have two days. Yeah, you better get on it. You better get on it. Maybe you come with us. I don't need it. I got this game. Really? What do you mean really? I've played a ton, dude. I can totally out-drive you. When was the last time you played golf? It's been a while. Did you just throw the gauntlet down to the kid? Yeah. Oh, yeah. I'll throw a challenge down to you. Really? Yeah, I can out-drive you. My short game's not that great, but my drives are long and straight. That's...
I believe him. I don't because I know Jay and he has said on the air. Jay says a lot of things that maybe we go, really? Let's test it. Any sport with balls he said he's out on. Except golf. It's not a real sport. What was it that we did? The basketball pick. Todd did mine and he won the whole thing. That's right. He picked UC Santa Barbara in the final game. Bro, I'll smoke you. I don't want to be like a D or anything, but I'll smoke you on a long drive. Smoke it. Let's do this. Let's do it. You throw the gauntlet down to the kid, then you're going to get got. Okay, well, what do you got, like a five spot on it? Five dollars. Five whole dollars? No, let's make it interesting. Five dollars? No. Name your price. Oh, I got it. Indian food. Yes! You have to eat Indian food. No way. Yeah. Zero. Please. No. Please. Well, he's not going to beat me. Fine, yeah, I'll do it. He's not going to beat me. We're going to beat you. He's not going to beat me. My choice of Indian food. What does he have to do? Hang on. Woods, what if he does? He's not going to. Woods. He's not going to out-drive me. Measure the penalty if he does. Yeah, make him hypothetically lose. The last time you did that, you threw up. I'll vomit. If I have to eat Indian food, I will throw up. Throw up. True statement or exaggeration? True statement. You're not exaggerating. I'm not exaggerating. You'll do it on the air? So first thing Friday morning? No, no, no, no, no. I don't want to do that. No, no. I don't want to see him throw up.
Why? You don't mean to throw him in the studio? Come on, Mikey. Meet and greet. Meet and greet. Indian food at the meet and greet. Wait, what about Jay? What does Jay have to do? I'll eat Indian food. Now I'm in. Jay, all right, fine. Now you like Indian food. What about a... Hold on. What about veal? What about veal? Yes and yes. I told you how I feel about that poor little animal. How long has it been since you've eaten flesh? It's been like 22 years. I've never eaten veal. I will never eat veal. I've never eaten. It's just poor for the little calf. Veal cut lean. I think you should beat wood. Rare. Oh, no. Rare veal cutlet. Rare. Oh, that is foul. You can't make them do that. Right off their little bones. Ew. No way. That's just cruel. Right off the bone. Right off those little bones. Jay, you eat veal and Woods, you eat Indian. Deal. Do you realize that either way that is a win-win situation? For you guys. A hundred percent. What are you guys doing at the meet and greet, though? I'll do it. What are you doing at the meet and greet? That's this Friday in front of everyone. Jay, please.
Does it have to be veal? Only if he loses. He just said he could beat me. That's cruel. I was going to beat him when it was like $5. Now it's like the real deal. I will give both of you the opportunity to rescind your comments. Not me. Well, no, then I can't do that. Okay. I'm not backing down. Then you'll do it at the meet and greet? Yeah, I'll do it in the meet and greet. I'm not going to have to do anything in the meet and greet. I'm going to throw up if Jay eats Phil. I'm not going to have to eat anything. Trust me. Man, I've been a vegetarian, but I haven't been a carnivore for like... That's too bad. I will throw up if he eats Phil. All right, I'm in. Yes, Jay! I'm Facebooking this right now. Oh my gosh, Jay just really manned up. Disappointed, Jay. Well, I'll be at the range. Well, I'm going to win, so we're not going to have to worry about it. I am totally. Oh, but the one rule is it can't be the very first hole. I need to, when we go out there, let's say it's like hole five or something. No, it has to be over the course of the day who gets along. We're just talking long drive. We're going to have like, he puts down a ball, I put down a ball. Long drive takes all. Why don't you get it of the day? No, because that's hard to keep up with. It's hard to keep up with. Oh, please. How do you spell vegetarian? V-E-G-E-T-A-R-I-A-N. Vegetarian. How long has it been? He's not a vegetarian, though. Like 22 years. Yeah, not a vegetarian. He repeated the word. Okay, hasn't eaten beef. Hasn't eaten beef.
And I've never eaten baby cow. It's too bad. For how many years? 22. Jay, you don't even seem really that nervous. Oh, because I'm going to kill you. Are you? I am. I want you to. Go, Jay. Sorry, because you always win. Yeah, and veal is disgusting. Indian food is delicious. Is it? Yeah. Grow up, Pete. Delicious Indian food is an oxymoron. No, it isn't. I'm telling you, dude, there is some good Indian food here in town. Yeah, you know what's good? An empty plate at an Indian restaurant is good. I agree. Yeah, after it's been finished. I empty one every time. Every single time. That is phenomenal. If I have to eat it, which I won't, but if I did, which I won't. I will puke. So either way, at the meet and greet this Friday at Hoolies, 5 to 7 in La Mesa, you're going to see Jay eat veal and throw. Or Woods eat Indian food. Somebody's going to vomit. Someone is. I know it. I love this right now. I hate it. Why? Oh my gosh, I cannot wait. This is so great.
Way to go, guys. That just happened. That just happened. That just made the meat meat so much more exciting. I'll be at the ranch today. I want to go to commercial so we can talk. Be right back. that was just made between Woodsy and Jay. The bet was, who can hit a longer ball golf-wise? Drive. Longer drive? Yep. Is that what they say? Yep. The kids are saying. Who can drive the ball longer? Jay says he can. No. I got this. Wood says he can. If Jay loses, Jay has to eat veal. He doesn't eat meat. No, he doesn't. He hasn't eaten meat for 22 years. 22 years. I can't believe you guys are doing this to him. Yep. Well, there's one way he doesn't have to deal with it. If he beats a kid. That's right. And we're doing it the next morning on the show. We're going to fulfill our obligations on Friday. Oh, no. We're going to do it at the meat and greet. At the meat and greet. Yeah. We'll let everybody know, the winner, we'll let everybody know that Jay will be eating a delicious piece of rare veal. Yeah, because we're golfing in the Mikey Show Invitational on Thursday afternoon.
At the Riverwalk. Ladies will be out there. Will they? Yes. We'll be there for lunch. And then we're going to go. Weird. Is it going to play? And then we're going to go golf. Now. We weren't invited to play. Yeah. That's true. Girls really can't play sports. Get out of here. Now, if Woodsy loses, he's got to eat Indian food. Last time you heard it, it made him throw up. I can't wait to pick that. I hope Woods loses. Here's what they're saying on our Facebook fan page. He's anti the kid on this show. You just said girls can't play sports. M1 Zach says, I want this to happen so bad. M1 Aaron says, if this happens, you have to videotape it and post it to YouTube. Yep. Come to the meet and greet. Done. M1 Shin says, can't wait. M1 Brent says, my money's on Jay. That's great, pal. M1 Tisha says, why do you do this to yourselves? For our entertainment, question mark? Yes. That's why. Yep. M1 Tim says, my money's on woods. That a boy, Timmy. M1 Koa says, give me the Indian food any day. Yep. Veal, no freaking way. Get. I'm with Koa on that. M1 Eric says, guys, fast forward the tape. The Mikey bit. Mommy, why does that man hate little cows? Ew. And M1 Zach says, go Jay. Sorry, Woodsy.
Get it, Zach. We'll see, man. Clown? Either way. Either way, it's a win-win situation. Can we up the ante a little bit? Sure, like what? Like we have to do it in the nude? Can we make them have to dress up in a tutu or a clown outfit or something? How about the loser has to wear a clown outfit? How about you get to wear something? What are you guys doing for this meat and green outfit? What if Jay dresses up like a cow? Lauren, maybe do a striptease for everybody. You can dress up like an Indian, and you can dress up like a cow. I think Lauren and Sienna should have to pick teams, and then if they have something to fulfill as well. Sure, you have to do it along with you. I can't do anything. Then there we go. I have a get-out-of-jail-free card. The loser, a.k.a. Woods. Dresses up as a clown. No. He's getting really mad. I can tell. I know Woodsy so well. When he gets a smile on his face, doesn't say anything, and crosses his arms. It's time to eject. It's not a good look for him. No. He's mad. Eject. Eject. Eject. He's soaking it all in, and then he's going to slam it in your face. I'm going to bomb one 400 yards down the fairway.
Really? You guys don't think the kid already gives enough? He was. Put his heart and soul out there. I'm not doing it. I'm not dressing up as a clown. Kid doesn't already sell it out. Yeah. Put his heart and soul on the field. Every day I leave it on the field. Down here in the trenches. Down here in the trenches. Taking grenades. Taking grenades. What if James dressed up as a cow? It'd be great. It'd be great. It's hysterical. Maybe you draw the little black and white marks. Yes. We'll pull on his udders. Oh, my God. You got a big thing. Maybe we get like a surgical glove. They have cow costumes. You can buy costumes. I wore it freshman year in high school. I dressed up. Totally sees the humor in it. Wait a minute. Lauren dressed up as a cow in high school? Yeah. All the other girls are dressed as like... Flutty nurse. School girl. I was like, hey, guys. So who's that girl? Like the girls are dressed like little minxy cats. You know who else she is? I guarantee you. She's the mother hen at the bar. When you meet one of her girlfriends, you're like, I got this. She's like, do not go home with him. He is a scumbag. 100%. Mother hen Lauren. Negative 100%. Really? I'm the one that people got to keep an eye on. She's the one that's...
I think she's this girl. She's a risk taker. I think Lauren is this girl. I think Lauren is the girl that if you're friends with Lauren, you say to your buddy, you go, hey, watch her because that's like number five. And if she gets to seven, we're done. What does that mean? Your drinks. Oh. And so we're starting to notice that you're getting a little louder and a little louder. So I say to my buddy, I say to Woodsy, I go, hey, she's on four. Watch her. Watch her. Because once the switch is flipped, there's no going back. Oh, yeah. I bet that's true. Making out with some dude in a car in front of the bar. I bet I go a bit, an hour later, I go up to the woods and I go, it's over. I'm a golden guy. She's got Jersey accent going real good. What are you doing? Snapping the Z. I got to go out with her sometime. That was funny. Mikey would have a heart attack. I got an email for you. Tell me what you guys think. Mikey, first of all, I want to let you know how much I love your new show. Listened every day, man. And I love when you guys give advice to people in need. Now I need some help. My wife and I had a baby last July, our first. Congrats. Congratulations. Obviously, Sunday was Mother's Day. I gave my wife a card, gave my mother flowers. My wife got really upset and started crying. Weird. She wouldn't understand why I didn't do that much for her. Am I a huge jerk? Yep.
She's still really upset, man. Please help M1 Deadman. Deadman? M1 Deadman. It's her first Mother's Day? Yeah. Yeah, dude. Step it up a little bit on the first. Really? It's not his mother. Jay! I'm just saying. Really? Are you going to pull this card right now? Said by the man that loves his wife to no end. And she's got babies that take care of her. They give her cards. I took them to breakfast, but... It's not my mother. I sent my mom a card and a photograph and, you know, that's what you do. What about her first Mother's Day, Jay? You know, there may have been some flowers involved, but that's, I mean, it's not my responsibility. It is! You wouldn't have kids if it wasn't for her. Maybe. Somebody else would have them. The holiday is not called Your Mother's Day. Thank you. It's called Mother's Day. Yeah, it's called Mother's Day. You celebrate the mothers in your life. Yeah, if you were to see a woman at a Denny's that morning and she had kids, you would say to her, Happy Mother's Day. And I'll say it to Kim as well. Happy Mother's Day. I'm glad that you're having a good Mother's Day, but I'm not going to go out and buy you a diamond necklace because...
But you would do more for your mom than you would for Kim. Oh, 100%. No! Why can't you do the same amount? Woods just had a look on his face like... My mom brought me into this world, as Kim did, to our children. So they are responsible. But she brought your children, which are the light of your life, into the world. And then they're paying it back, you know? See, and I believe, man, once you get married, that is your response. That's your numero uno priority. Or at least equal. Yeah. At the very least, equal. So, man, I blow people away when I say, I don't love my kids as much as I love my wife. That's awesome. God first, Rebecca second, the boys third, work fourth. That's what my grandfather says. That's the pecking order. You know, you have to be that way, man. It's got to be. Yeah. It's got to be one. You got to be the team, dude. Jamie and I had a talk last night about Team Woods. Team Woods? Team Woods. That's what I call our family, Team Woods. Yeah. Because I told her, we had a talk, and I said, I have to know and you have to know.
That you and I are the only people here for each other. That's it. It's Team Woods. And we've got to be on board with each other. Oh, I disagree. I think kids should go before this significant other. What? 1,000%. They're your children. They are, but that. That your husband or your wife, they've got to be your priority. Todd would want my priority to be our children. No way. I guarantee he would. Maybe he would. I'm just, your children will fall into place as long as you two are making one another happy. Well, we do. Because think about this. If you guys aren't the first priority, it could potentially fall apart, which will affect the kids. We're solid. Well, some people think because that's your flesh and blood. Like a spouse. It's definitely your flesh and blood. But they can go off and leave you. A spouse is not your flesh and blood. Yeah, they're not your flesh and blood. For sure. They don't have your flesh and blood. They don't have your DNA. Really? Oh, my goodness. Let me challenge this. Let me challenge this. Let me challenge this. Can I challenge it? Yes. You're going to think I'm crazy, but let me challenge it. Dr. Mike. So, I've told this story before, but I don't know if I've told it. I think I told it in the air.
So you know that whole two flesh become one deal, right? Okay. Piece of a rib and all that bit. All that stuff. All that bit. All that bit. So check this out. You know me, I'm a bit of a hypochondriac. A little bit. If I get sick, if I sneeze, I'm like, oh my gosh, I've got, you know, something terminal. Yeah. And so I, over the years, have taken every antibiotic known to man. Like I've taken them all. Yeah. Weird. Seriously. And so I got some kind of I got sick. Oh, I got a sinus infection and it wouldn't go away. And they were giving me antibiotic after antibiotic after antibiotic and it wouldn't go away. So finally, they give me something called sulfa, which I've taken. And I've got pictures. I took pictures of it on my iPhone because I had to go get a shot.
in my butt because it was so bad i broke out and they had to give me a shot of benadryl like hyper benadryl yeah because i broke out into hives rebecca is allergic to sulfa i've taken it never had an issue with it we get married now i'm allergic to sulfa Just like Rebecca is. That's not a good example. Come on. That's like a scientific. You guys, when you get married and you make love, you become one. Oh, please. Look at Woods. He's got his hands up like, thank you, audience. He's laughing himself. Okay. No, no, no. When I think about, like, my parents, like, they're solid, you know, but if there was ever a situation where my mom had to choose me or my dad, it would be me 1,000%. Ah, you can't be sure about that. Oh, I'm 1,000% sure. Your dad probably resents the ass out of that. No. My dad would do the same thing.
You got to go for your kids, man. Especially when they're little. You're going to let your kid die over your wife? Your wife lived a life? That's awful to think about, but my wife is my wife. Oh, my gosh. My grandfather always used to say, and he passed this on to my mom, who my mom... You know, she's the one that gave birth to me. Pass this on to me. Hit the road, Buzzard. No. As words of wisdom, she said, you know, while your kids are in your house, you have to love them and you have to guide them and you're there to be their parent. You're not there to be their friend and blah, blah, blah. Right. She said, but your kids will go off and they'll start their own families and they will leave. So you have to make your spouse number one. Number one. Now, I don't have a spouse, so I can't. Speak from experience, but that's what her father believed and what she believes. And as a kid, I actually think that about my parents and I'm like, I got no problem with it. Like if my dad and my mom said that they are the first priority and then me, I don't have a problem with that. Me neither. Like to me, that makes sense. It doesn't make sense to me. And that will never. M1 Benny from IB, are you there? Yeah, yeah. I'm here. I just want to say good morning to the show. Good morning.
Good morning, good morning. Yeah, I had this problem this weekend. I thought, I've been married for, what, 16 years? And I thought, well, this time I'm not going to get her something. Oh, not even a card? No, I was like, well, the kids are 13 and 12 now. And I'm like, well, they get her stuff now. But then when I was sitting on the couch and I told her this, she comes and whispers in my ear, you know what? She's like, well, make sure you remember that tonight when you want to call for your mommy. Wow. She pulled that bit. She walked up to him on the couch and she goes, I'm going to kill you. You cheap bastard. I can't mind you. Yeah. Maybe you start living with your mommy again. She starts making you meals. Yeah. Yeah. Maybe your mommy's the one wearing the nightie tonight or not. Yeah. Mommy changed IP. Yeah. Mommy changed IP. Yeah. Who are you going to kiss tonight? Really? Great. Next. Yeah. Next time you want a little. A little taste. Guess what? Pick up your dirty socks. Guess what?
That's right. Yeah, Benny figured, you know what? It's been 13 years, 15 years. I think I'm done. I think he thought it was up to the kids now. Yeah. Kids are deadbeats. Of course. M1 Broncos fan from Poway. What's up, dude? Hey, what's going on, guys? What up? Hey, I just want to say, I think M1... Oh. M1 Rock. M1 Rock. I made sure I put my mom flowers and everything. I took our kids out the day before, had portraits done at the Pierce studio. Nice. The day of, we went out with the kids. We saw How to Train Your Dragon. We went to Joe's Crab Shack for lunch. Sounds like a nice little Sunday. At least to tell my mom, I put her flowers. But, you know, I had to take care of my wife with her kids first. Yeah, man. Good man. Wife's got to be the one that you make the bigger deal out of. I mean, your mom is important, and you should do something for your mom. There's no doubt about it. It's just that the bigger deal must be made out of your wife. Yeah, because, you know, I have to come home to the wife. I only see my mom every couple days. Got to keep her happy. And she's a mom to your kids, too. Exactly. Now, what about the mom who isn't fortunate enough to have her spouse around or something like that? So that's, I mean, do you give special attention to your mother? Like a widow? Yeah, exactly. Yeah, for sure. As opposed to what?
As opposed to, okay, well, she's got her husband and that's his job to be like, you're the mother of my kids, whatever. Like if your father passed away, would you give extra special care to your mother? Because she's now a widow. Well, I definitely give care to my mom, but I would be also careful not to make that a bigger thing than my wife. But definitely do, you know, care for her. Well, here's the deal. Like, I'm not in the middle, really, on this. I think the guy should have probably gone a little bit more above me. I mean, they get her a card. He wrote her a nice card. And, you know, he sent his mom flowers. I mean, does she want, like, a brass parade or something? I mean, she got a card. What does she want? I think she wants a parade with full brass section playing. No, she just wants to be treated equally. Why does the mom get more when she's the one at home and he sees her hard work every day? Mom's old. Oh, okay, Woods. Okay. Not this. Fire away. It's a roast. You guys ready for the roast? A couple years down the road, we got little baby woods floating around. Father's Day comes along. Wouldn't you want Jamie to make a big deal about Father's Day for you? You know, I would. I would want, but I'd want her to do it from the kid's perspective. I think that would be cute. It should be. It should be from the kid's perspective. From the kid's perspective, but we know who went out. I pretty much live like a king anyway, dude. My meals get cooked for me. I live like a king.
Every day is pretty much Father's Day at the kids' house. Until the kids get there. And homemade mashed potatoes made for him last night. Yeah, and the Hello Dolly's. What is that? Look at my blog. No one knew. What's a Hello Dolly? I did. That's where I got the meatloaf. What's Hello Dolly? Hello Dolly is, are you ready for this? Yeah. It's graham cracker crust. Okay. Then it's a layer of chocolate chips. Then it's a layer of chopped pecans. Then it's a layer of coconut with a can of Eagle Brand milk on top. You bake it for 15 minutes at 350. You take it out. It's like heaven. Heavenly goodness. Let's try it. You brought some in, right? No, 0%. I don't bring any. No, he said he thought about it and he didn't want to share it with us. I like you guys. Down in the trenches. You're not getting my hello dollies. Down in the trenches. I brought you my banana cake. They're so good. M1 Bear from Little Italy. What's going on? Oh! What's going on, Mikey? I'm having a discussion with all my guys here at work and it's kind of got into a heated debate. Oh. We wanted to call and ask your opinion, sir. Okay. You have to choose between saving your mother...
Or saving your wife. Saving my wife. Saving my wife. Saving my wife. Saving your wife. My mother would tell me, save your wife. Yeah, you save your wife, bro. I don't know, but that's hard, though. No, it's not. The person that brought you into the world. Of course. Listen, I mean, in these hypothetical situations, you're out on a life raft. I mean, they're all ridiculous. You know, they're all. Guys getting two guns. Exactly. I mean, they're all hypothetical and they're all ridiculous. But it's the principle, I think, that you're trying to decide on. When you become married. You have to go with your spouse. A man will leave his mother. A man will leave his mother. And a man will leave his mother. Who sang that? You sang that yesterday. Peter, Paul and Mary. Really? Yeah. I never heard it, but I heard you sing it. No? No, I heard you sing it. Let's try to sing it every day on the show. Yeah. It should be the new anthem. It's from the Wonder Years episode where Karen gets married. Really? If you've only got one mother, you can always get another wife. Oh! Dude, you can't think of it like that. Did he just say that? That's the love of your life. You're so made. Mikey's spirit just left his body. I see it. It's floating around the studio. Oh, my God. That's so little. He just said that. It's a tiny little spirit. That was the atom bomb. That was the atom bomb. Bear, are you married?
Yes, I am. Obviously, your wife listens to AJ because she ain't listening to us or you'd be dead. You'd be dead. You'd be the new M1 dead man. Is your wife an M1? No, she is not. Oh, yeah, dude. M1 dead bear. Let me ask you a question. Bear, bear, bear. Wait, let me ask you a question. How much are you going to pay your friends to not tell your wife that you just said that? I've actually had to agree to cook them all a major barbecue lunch. Yeah, I bet. I bet, dude. No, the 20th of this month will have actually been five years that I've been married. Congrats. There is not a thing in the world I would not do for her. Except save her life. Except save her life. That's where you draw the line. Five years of always getting new ones. They've had that discussion he's had. You've had it? Well, here's the reason. We were actually, when there was a family time, when we were having a family get-together, and it was supposed to be a big family reunion for my family back in Oklahoma. Well, we ended up not doing something like that. We all ended up going on the cruise, and this same discussion three years ago actually got brought up. And one of the things that I actually told my mom was, sorry, I love you, Mama, but if I have to choose between you or my wife...
I'm picking the wife. Well, then why did you just say? I think he said it wasn't his opinion. That somebody else where he works said that. Oh, is that the deal? Is that what he's saying? Yes, that was not mine. That was somebody that wanted me to bring it up because I'm on the phone. Let me talk to him. Let me talk to him. He's not here. He's not there? Oh, I wish he would call. I had to walk away because my boss was getting pissed. Hey, listen, I got to tell you. He's like, chill out, boss. I'm going to take the call. I'll come to work later. I got to tell you. And I hope that this does not offend the people that would swing that way. Mama's born. Yeah, for sure. Sorry. Sorry. Kid's got some mama issues. I think there may be some mama issues. If you're choosing your mom over your wife. That's weird. You know who does that? Yeah, it is. You know who does that? That's the weirdest thing ever. You know who does that? Norman Bates. Yeah, Norman Bates does it. And that's it. Yeah, Norman Bates is up there sitting in that rocking chair wearing his mom's nightgown, choosing mama. Can I ask Bear a question? Oh, actually, one of my friends, Richard, came out and said, if you have that much dedication to your mother, then your mother has way too much control of your mother. Absolutely. Hey, Bear. It's true. Bear, how is your wife's relationship with your mom? Does she like your mom? Actually, yes. My mother loves her. Does she like your mom? Very much a lot. Yes, they are, believe it or not. I would think that his wife...
He brought her away. No, but his mother said he's all over the place. It's not him. It's not him. Bear's mother said to save your wife. Yeah. Yeah, but he has some weird connection to his mom. No, no, no. He's talking about someone else. His buddy there goes, hey, you got Mikey showing the phone? Tell him you can always get another wife. It was a buddy. It wasn't Bear. Oh. No. Yeah. I forgot to do this. I got to reset this. Make that right. Let me make this right for you. It's blue October. This song is a pick of Jay's. It's called You Make Me Smile. Jay, a little blue October. I think we just played this one. Dallas band, brother. Number nine. Sorry. Lucky. Idiot. Instead, I'm going to play the Chikakas. Thank goodness. Who is it? What are they called? That's what they're called. Are they really called the Chikakas? I can't tell if it's Chikakas or Chikachas. Chikachas? This is Jungle Fever. Boogie Nights. I taped 60 Minutes. Oh, yeah? Yeah, I do. Never watch it. Just tape it. You watching that on VHS? Yeah, I'll go on my little TiVo deal. And I'll go, let's see what I have here. Oh, yeah, 18 episodes of 60 Minutes.
Never watch it. Sounds like something a smart man would have in his TV. Yeah, exactly. I'm like, well, a gentleman would have it, so I'm going to have it. One day you'll sit down and watch them all. One day I'll be a gentleman. I'll sit there and I'll be like, I'm going to watch 60 Minutes. Really? 13 hours of ticking. Well, the other day I finally turned it on and Andy Rooney is on there finally. Is he the guy that's like... Yeah, he's 97 years old and just a huge D. Is he? Yeah. Isn't he? He's the one that complains at the end. Yeah. Is that his bit? That's his bit. Is it not? Is it that his? These damn kids and this Facebook. Kind of is his bit. You ever notice? You ever notice? That's perfect. Perfect. So he talks about Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber. Really? Yes, he does. I've never heard of these two. What's Lady Gaga anyway? So we'll hit that next. No, no, no.

Oh, really? Gwyneth enchiladas? They're really delicious. Yeah. Some green mollies. That's good. You put turkey in there or what is it? I put ground turkey. Is it ground turkey? Yeah. Apple really likes them. Apple likes to eat the turkey enchiladas? She thinks they're delicious. Thank you, Gwyneth. It's just a head. It's a Gwyneth from Seven. Yes. They call me Pepper. What's in the box? Tudor Tuesdays. Two to Tuesdays is where we ask you to email us questions that your kid K-8 gets for homework. Gets. I've been getting a lot of them. They're good. Yeah. Be smart. Yeah, they go to Sienna. Sienna then weeds through them, and then she gives them to us, and we don't get them correct. It's awesome. Fair enough. Well, usually the people that have been sending them have been giving me the right answers because they know we won't get them right. So you can't play. Yeah, but.
Yeah, I won't play, but I'll ask you guys the questions and you'll get it wrong. It'll be funny. In just a moment, we're going to be talking to people more about this thing with Mother's Day. Who's more important, your wife, the mother of your kids, or your mom on Mother's Day? The wife. Wife. Whoa, did you just say wife? I said wife. Yeah, but you said. No, what I said was if I had to pick between the two, if one of them was going to let one drown, I would pick Kim easily. But we're talking about Mother's Day. Mother's Day. Oh, okay. I thought we were just having to pick somebody from drowning. You would pick Kim to drown? No, I'd pick your mom to drown. Let my mom drown. It sounds horrible to even say this. Yeah, you don't pick the one to drown. And you are hit. By the way, I wanted to tell people about this because. This is really, really cool. If you're the type of person that likes to do volunteer work and you're like, I don't know what to get involved with. This is really interesting because it's not one thing. It's to tell you about a bunch of different things that you can volunteer for. So if you're that type of person, there's apparently something called Althea's Charity Connection. And they're doing an event where you get to kind of go through all these different ones and go, ooh.
Let me learn about you. Let me learn about you. Let me learn about you. And then you go, oh, I want to be involved in this one. It's like a job fair, but for volunteers. For volunteer stuff. That's awesome. It's happening tomorrow from 10 to 2. And the places that will be out there are places like Ronald McDonald House, Susan G. Komen Foundation, San Diego Rescue Mission. They'll be there. You can talk to them. They'll tell you how to make a difference. You leave it and you feel really good about yourself. Maybe the kid goes and signs up for the San Diego Rescue Mission. Say it again where it is, Mike. It's Althea's Charity Connection event. It's happening tomorrow the 12th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. And it's going to be really cool. We'll give you some more information about it. But they'll tell you about things like Ronald McDonald House and Susan G. Coleman Foundation, San Diego Rescue Mission. And if you go out there, they're going to be serving lunch and doing a blood drive, too. And more info on that. That is so rad. Yeah, yeah. Very, very cool. If you have time to do stuff like that, it's so important. It is. They need all the help they can get. Yeah. This is M1 Hector from downtown. Hector, you there? Yeah, yeah. What were you calling to say? Well, I think, because my whole entire time, she's always going to be my mom. Mother's day only comes around once a year.
I pick my mom. How old are you? I'm 24. Are you married? No, not yet, but I'm engaged. You pick your mom to give a gift. Not anymore, you're not, pal. Listen, dude. When you got kids and your wife is your baby's mama... You got to make the wife numero uno. All right? You got to make the wife numero uno even when she's not your baby's mama. That's true. That's a lesson. Absolutely. That is a lesson that the kid is learning every single day. It's absolutely true. Listen, dude. You're not a little boy anymore. Mommy's not giving you peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with the crust cut off. Changing diapers. Right. Giving your binky. When you get a boo-boo, she doesn't kiss it anymore. You're all grown up. Come on, Pete. Yeah. You got to go, hey, it's my wife. It's my wife. Your wife becomes your first priority. You guys are crazy. Oh, my goodness. You agree with me, Jay? I agree that my mom is my mom. I love my mom. Kim is my wife. If there was a wife's day, she would get a diamond necklace. Would she? Really? Yes, she would.
She did. She got it for her anniversary. She got a nice little diamond. Yeah. Hey, listen, I think that that's fantastic. Nobody in the world is going to be against loving your moms. Lauren made, I think, the point of the day. She said it's not called your Mother's Day. It's called Mother's Day. They should call it all Mother's Day. You celebrate the mothers in your life. Of course. I told some of the guys on my baseball team, hey, tell your wife Happy Mother's Day for me. Oh, yeah. That's easy. Yeah. Okay. Happy Mother's Day to everyone that I didn't get a hold of on Mother's Day. See, I think that you got to let your wife know she's the most important mother in your life. I don't think that you need to get your wife something better than your mom. It can be equal. It's not about presents, though. Well, I know, but you guys are making it seem like your wife just blows your mom out of the water on Mother's Day. It's like the mom is still just as important as the wife. I think they should get equal attention. My mom got a sapphire, and I got a freaking ruby. Equal attention, 100%. I think equal attention. I asked Kim.
One's going to get more over the other. It shouldn't be. I asked him, what do you want to do? She said, I just want to work in the yard. I said, great, that's what we'll do. And then I took her out for breakfast. But you made certain to find out, okay, it's important to know what she wants to do today. Yeah, I figured it's her day. Yeah. But I'm going to treat my mother better. I'm going to make sure I get her something bigger and better. Wow! My mother. Unbelievable. You went on a cruise with your mom that day? Brass parade. M1 Tomas from Huntington Beach. Are you there? Is it Tomas or is it Thomas? It's Thomas. Thomas. We like to say Tomas. Mikey's Latino. T-O-M-A-S. Tomas. Yeah, I would say Tomas. Hey, Tomas. That's because you're Mexican. That's true. I got a little twister for you guys. Go ahead. Okay, so my ex-girlfriend, who was six years older than myself, and we were just boyfriend and girlfriend, we dated for about three or four years. She had three kids, not mine, but she was divorced with three kids. Toward the end of the relationship, every Mother's Day, we always did something, but the last time that we celebrated Mother's Day together, I got her, I just picked her up a little gift, like a little kitchen appliance, and she completely slipped out. And I'm going, why are you so upset? I mean, you're really not my mom. You're my girlfriend who has kids, but you're not my mom.
Yeah, Thomas, this one's easy. Easy. Your mom. Yeah. You do the thing with your mom. You're not married. Those aren't his kids. Those aren't your kids and you're not married. It's your girlfriend. Yeah. Now, if you marry that woman, now they're your kids. Yeah. Now they're your stepkids. And now you got to treat her big on mama's day. Now she's your wife. It's been one of those kind of things where it's like kind of haunted me for years because she thought I treated her so bad. And I was like, God. Who the hell can I ask who would know if I was in the right or if I was in the wrong? Because I've always thought, like, I didn't do anything wrong. He got her a spoon. No big deal. Yeah. My man. Exactly. Maybe instead of a kitchen appliance, she wanted a ring. Maybe that. Yeah. Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe she thought Sunday was the day. Yeah. She thought you were going to get her something special. I bet she was really butthurt that he didn't make, like, a big to-do about it. But those aren't his kids, and that's not his wife. So she can get, as far as I'm concerned. Yeah, I agree. Yeah. I agree. If he liked it, he would have put a ring on it. Yep. M1 Harold, San Marcos. I'm going to get slayed. Cool. And, Mikey, you're going to be disappointed in me. Oh, no. My wife, we actually call her mama. We got her a nice dress, took her to lunch. She wanted a nap. She would let her sleep. You know, that was her Mother's Day. Uh-huh.
I sent my mom a text message. Happy Mother's Day. Oh, dude. Harold. Harold. Harold, isn't that a little... It's a little weak. Yeah, I mean, isn't the text message a little impersonal? Totally. I couldn't agree more. Hi, Mom. OMG. OMG. Happy Mother's Day. LOL. I think your mom deserves a little basket of gifts for that move, man. How come the text and not a call? Well, she lives 2,200 miles away. I didn't ask why you didn't walk there. Phone, actually, are you using your tin can with the string? Didn't reach far enough? If you are, then I get it. I get it. Didn't stretch 2,200 miles. My mom lives 3,000 miles away. I made sure I sent something priority real good. Yeah, my mom's getting hers today. Lauren and Woods and you aren't trying to reach your mothers on a CB, okay? You just pick up the phone, girl. That's CB. Yeah, on Nextel. Bloop, bloop.
Hey, Mom, happy birthday. Yeah, Mom, you there? Pick up. This is Little Junior calling from San Diego. Come back. Come back. Thank you, Harold. All right, you guys want to hear Andy Rooney? Yeah, of course. Here we go. Talking about Lady Gaga. It may be what everyone thinks of themselves as, but I consider myself to be an absolutely dead center, normal, average American. Well, you're not. You're Andy Rooney. Andy, you're not the everyday average American. Unless the everyday average American, on average, is 87 years old. And makes probably 2 mil a year. It has a segment on 60 mil a year. It's like Sean Merriman saying, just a normal dude. Just a normal size. Just like any other athlete. No, you're not. You're a pro bowler. Here we go. My experience growing up, going to school, serving in the army, getting married, having kids, buying a home, would make me perfect if Hollywood was looking around for an average American male. You're not an average American male. The things I write and read on television are for regular, normal, average, everyday Americans. Really? Old guy's life? That magazine is for? I mean, like myself.
Or so I think. My question then is this. If I'm so average American, how come that I've never heard of most of the musical groups that millions of other Americans apparently are listening to? Oh, I don't know, because you're not listening to Hot 97 in New York, maybe? And maybe because you're 90 years old. Yeah, because you're 90, Andy. You're not really bumping the bass on that line. Yeah, when I'm 90, I'm not going to know what the new Mumford & Sons sounds like, okay? When you're 90, you're not subscribing to Teen Bop. Yeah, you're not really the MTV crowd, Andy. Well, I will, but... I've heard of Sting and the Rolling Stones. Really? Great, except from 60 years ago. Yeah, he's heard of Sting and the Rolling Stones, so in his mind, he's caught up. Yeah, he's got it. I got this covered. He's going to talk to a couple of dudes with black hair and skinny jeans and mascara on. And he's going to be like, you guys know Sting? What do you think of the police? I will say my grandmother is coming up on 92. She probably knows more about pop culture than I do. Wow. That's not an exaggeration. That's great. That is not average. Yeah, it's not average. Andy's not average.
But someone sent me Billboard magazine, and I looked at a list. And first of all, I had to say, what the hell is Billboard magazine? What is that anyway? Somebody sent me a Playboy. Then I had to get my reading glasses. Right, and I couldn't find those, so I got frustrated and gave up. Then someone said that there's something out there called the Internet. What the hell is the Internet? Of the top 200 performers, and nobody I know is on that bestseller list. Really? Really? Weird. Chopin isn't on there? Is that what you're telling me? Really? You couldn't find Chopin with a bullet at number four? Yeah, I didn't think so. Yeah, the Rydells weren't on there? Yeah. The singers I know have been replaced by performers like Justin Bieber. Bieber. Bieber. Justin Bieber. I was looking through Billboard magazine, and I said to myself, Where are the four aces? I don't see the four aces on here. They were a wonderful group. In 1947. Whatever happened to Barbershop Quartet? Where's Count Basie? Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga. Who's Lady Gaga? Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga. Gaga. Gaga.
What is it, Gaga? Gaga. Look, you wrote it on the paper this way. Lady Gaga. Cut. Can you play that one? Hold on. Are we live? Did you say we're alive? We're live. We're live, Andy. We're live, Andy. Andy. Yeah. We're filming right now. We're filming. Okay, well, who's Gaga? Lady Gaga? Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga. She's on that bestseller list. The singers I know have been replaced by performers like Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga. He says it right. No, he doesn't. Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga. It's the way he talks. Gaga. I heard King Tut sing. They're selling millions of songs by singers that I've never heard of. Larry King's like, that dude is old. That's really old. And that must mean that I'm out of the American mainstream. Yes, thank God. And definitely not average. I know age is the obvious divider, but age doesn't separate Americans in other areas. We all like comfort, beauty, ice cream, a sunny day, and a win for our favorite team. What?
I agree with all that. I do too. I love ice cream. You were winning me over. Who feels like a jerk now? Yeah, who's a jerk now? Me. Me. Me. Our tastes suddenly diverge when it comes to the sound of music. I think of myself as a musical ignoramus who doesn't hear or like the nuances of... Andy. Andy. Yeah. Nobody's used the word ignoramus. 50 years is exactly what I was going to say. My mom used to say that word. Weird. Yeah. You know what I said? I saw Lady Gaga on the street the other day. I said, hit the road, buzzer. Sound that other people hear and do like. I don't know who Lady Gaga is. Gaga! I love it. Can you imagine him thumping Lady Gaga? I would love it. I want to tell you my poker face. Pop, pop, pop, pop. Yeah. Pop, pop, pop, poker face. Pop, pop, poker face. We don't know who Ella Fitzgerald was. I don't get it. I know who that was. Well, I do, too, because we know American history. Without American history, we wouldn't know. Maybe we should call it even. He's awesome. I'd just love to hear him. Really? Well, he's a throwback, you know? I mean, here's... He's an old codger, dude. That's the deal. Listen, Andy Rooney, you don't agree with one thing he says, but it's fun to watch. How'd you like to be his waiter? How'd you like to be his waiter in a restaurant? What's it like? That'd be a huge pain in the balls, that guy, dude. Would it? Yes! Pain in the balls.
Why? Those eyebrows are killing me. They kind of come out of you. The water's too cold. This isn't the way water's supposed to be. When I was a kid, we used to get it out of a well. You ever notice how water is always clear? No. You ever notice that? Yeah, now they've got 50 types of water. They've got Aquafina tap. bubbly, I can't make up my mind. Why don't you just bring me the stuff right out of the Hudson River? That's what I want. I just work here, man. I make $3 an hour plus tips. What's your name, young man? You know, tips used to be 3%. What's the deal with vitamin water? Are there vitamins in the water or is it just a gimmick? Kill me. It would be the worst. It's to the point now where you can't tip with coins. You can't tip with suggestions and helpful hints. I tried to leave a kid. I told my waiter to look both ways before he crossed the street. I tried to leave a kid two bits. He didn't know what the hell I was talking about. Plus, he was irritated they were made of wood. The bits were made of wood. Two bits. In the old days, you could give a waiter a hammer if you had one laying around the house. In the old days, you could pat him on the back and...
Life was good. Yeah. That was good enough for him. Old codgers, dude. Nowadays, I've got to give one full dollar to my waiter. What's your name, young man? Bill. Bill. Why do people have to have names now like Bill? Right. What happened to Edgar, Florence, Benjamin, King Tut, President Garfield? What happened to great names like that? I don't know, dude. I'm just a waiter in New York just trying to make it. Bill. Just trying to make it. Do you listen to the dead rascals or what? Yeah. Who do you listen to these days? Oh, Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zero. Who doesn't? Every day. Sounds like a set of knives. Several times. Hey, several times a day. Sounds like a Tim Burton movie. Does that have Winona Ryder in it? Johnny Depp? Johnny Depp Winona Ryder starring in Edward Sharp in The Magnetic Zeros. Used to be that you didn't have to pay to go to the bathroom. Andy, you don't have to pay now. Uh-oh. What was that place I was at? That's awkward. Old Codger. Love him. Codger. Hate him. Hey, how about this? This is fun. I'm going to embarrass Sienna. Uh-oh. Sienna wrote in her recap, their hamster.
Polka dot? Yeah, polka dot. Polka dot didn't make it. Oh, really? It's sad. I know, it's sad. I cried, like, for a while. I'm sure. It's a hamster. Did you? I did. It was a little polka dot. Polka dot was a hamster, and polka dot didn't make it. Jenna, Sienna's daughter, she's nine, right? Mm-hmm. She was over at her mom's when the incident occurred. Yeah. Sienna's her stepmom. She's over at the mom's. when the thing happened. So when she came back to the house, they didn't know what to do. We knew she was going to ask, what happened to Polka Dot? And so what did you do? Well, she died of natural causes. Hamsters, you know, they don't live very long. Did you? No, I loved Polka Dot. She was the best hamster ever. And so Jenna comes home and, you know, she notices Polka Dot's cage isn't where it normally is. So she said,
You know, and she, I'm like going to cry. What did you say? What did you tell her? I told her that we took Polka Dot to the vet. And the vet did everything they could do. But Polka Dot didn't make it. But the vet said, you know, that she lived a really long life. And she was a very healthy, happy hamster. And we did everything right. So Polka Dot, you know, was with the vet. I guess you had to though, right? I don't know. I couldn't just say that she died. Like it was sad. So it is. It was sad. Like, I don't know. We had a hamster before that died, and Jenna was sobbing. And I think that's why I was so sad, because I knew she would be. But for some reason, like, telling her we took her to the vet made it seem a lot better. Like, on our part, she totally bought it. Dr. Esparza? Yes. I dropped my hamster off about an hour ago. I haven't heard anything. I know you did, little Bobby. You just turned 13, right? Yep.
Sit down. I'm sitting, though. I didn't notice that. You're only 12. I'm sitting. Sorry, 13. Can I have a talk with you, little Bobby? Sure. Where's my hamster, though? Bring my hamster out, and I'll play with him. That's what I want to talk to you about, actually. Polkadot. Nope, hang on. Talk to you about it. Polkadot Daddy's here to pick you up. Sit back down. You just stood up. I'm sitting. Still sitting? Yep. We performed a very risky operation on this show, okay? There's a 2% chance of survival with this operation. It's called a cranial dyspongenia. Okay. It's the second one that opened us up. It's the second cranial dyspongenia that we've done in four weeks, and you knew that there was great risk incurred. So where is he? She. It's a she, all right? It's a she. I know that. It's my hamster. She didn't make it. That's a drag. That's a drag. Did you just say that's a drag?
That's a drag. I have two questions for you. Fire away. Number one, how could you be so insensitive? And number two, why is a 13-year-old saying things like, that's a drag? My dad's a greaser. I actually did take polka dot to the vet when we first got her. When we first got her, I fed her medicine with a syringe in her mouth. That's love. Hey, if you've ever told your kid, if you've had to tell your kid something. Call us, 570-194-9. You ever had to tell your kids something because you didn't want to break their little hearts? I got a theory. I think Mike and I are about to debate. What is it? We're going to have a debate. You want to bring it up when we come back, or you want to bring it up now? I want to debate about lying. I want to debate about lying. All right, we'll be back. This is The Mikey Show, FM 94.9. Nissan. We've made our vehicles dependable, safe, and award-winning.

Los Seattle. Welcome back from yesterday. You did? Yeah, he came in when he walked into the meeting. Oh, yeah. He just walked into our meeting. He goes, Detroit. See you later. I go, Garrett, you want to hear my imitation of Garrett when he's having a nightmare? And he goes, sure. And I go, Detroit.
Is he at all? Classic. Classic. Don't ever do it again. He's so over us. He hates it. He's like, you guys, really? It's not that bad. I don't talk like that. I'm going to slit your throat. I'm going to slit your throat or play in your blood. The play in your blood. Hope you guys don't fall off this seven-story building. See you later. I hope your key card works tomorrow. Detroit. Maybe you guys get it. I'll tell you, I was watching the Yankees and the Tiger game. They're in Detroit. And every time they said Detroit, here was me on the couch. And now you're Detroit Tigers. I'm like. That's fantastic. Kill me. I cannot hear. I can't either. I can't hear the word Detroit and not go Detroit. Detroit. You got to lose your mind in Detroit. Rock City. Seattle. 570-1949. People are calling in to tell us. About this deal. What do you tell a kid? What do you tell a kid if something bad has happened? I have a theory. You don't lie. You don't lie. No. You're not a liar. No. You used to be. Oh, yeah. Big liar. Sure. Not anymore. No. Pants on fire. Pants on fire. Big time pants on fire. For sure. So, Jake's hamster dies. Mm-hmm. Do you tell him a little white lie? Mm-mm. So you don't hurt his feelings? Mm-mm. You don't? No.
comfortingly and easily explain to him a lesson in life. This is life. This is going to happen in life. So you got to, you know, and it's unfortunate. It hurts. It's not fun, but it's also a part of life. But what if it was like he had two hamsters, one died and one died like the next week? You know, we had a hamster before we told Jenna died. We did a whole burial. And then we. What did he do? He tapped me on the shoulder as I'm talking and asked for the lotion next to me. I was like, here you go, bud. Sorry, go ahead. He is the fidgetiest guy. Am I? I know. You are. It was dry. We had a proper burial. Oh, wow. Oh, wow. You couldn't wait. So we had a proper burial for the first hamster, and then we got another hamster, and she didn't die. We had her maybe a year and a half, but still, it's soon. When did Todd kill that one? Shut up. She and her. Listen, it's opportunity to explain, hey, this happened. But she knows it happens, and she cried for the first one. And we told her the hamster died, but we just said it died with the vet after the vet examined it and said that it was healthy. Did somebody just open a bag of diapers in the room? It's baby lotion. It smells like baby all of a sudden. It's like babies in here. Woods is like a giant baby. He's got the softest skin now. Pacifier. Got the softest skin in the world. Sitting there with a diaper blasting the pig.
M1 Gabriel from Oak Park, you there? Yeah. Go ahead, man. Hey, hello. Yeah, you're on the air, dude. Hey, I have a little three-and-a-half-year-old son, and we had just picked up some at Pollo Loco. And we were on our way home, and he said, oh, man, what smells so good? And I told him about the chicken, you know, and he says, oh. I says, wait a minute, you mean chicken like on a farm? Because he has a little play farm set. I said, yeah, like chicken on a farm. He said, we're not supposed to eat chicken. We're supposed to pet chicken. Little angel. And so I didn't know what to do at first. I was just like, well, you know, we only eat some of them. We don't eat all of them, you know? And we eat the mean ones. What about the pigs and the cows? And so finally his mom was like, well, look, we don't eat the pigs and the cows on the farm. We don't eat the chickens on the farm. We eat these other chickens. Yeah, the ones at the slaughterhouse. Right. We eat the ones that are at the slaughterhouse. We eat those ones. It breaks their little hearts, though, because they're trying to be so sweet and loving. Listen, you don't be cold and callous about it. You don't do it like that, but I think that you do in a very loving and sweet and kind way. You say, listen, that's what we're meant to eat, and we have those, and they're good for us. I'm trying to think of a scenario where Mike would have to tell a little white lie to Jake, and I can't think of one. No, my policy is as long as you do it in a nice, good way. What about this? I'm almost positive that my parents...
are still lying to me because I brought it up as an adult. I'm like, really? Is that what happened to the cat? We had a cat named Ninner when I was little. And Ninner would always go to the neighbor's house, so my parents would say. And one day, Ninner never came home. And I didn't know where Ninner was. And I was like, Mom, where's the cat? I want a Ninner. Where the hell is he? Where's Ninner? And she told me, you know, Ninner went with the neighbor. The neighbor moved and took Ninner because Ninner liked the milk that she had better. Well, that's a lie. That's not true. But she says it's still true. I ask her. She won't tell me. To this day, she says. Mrs. Richards, we're going to need to call her. You can call her. She'll tell you. Please get her on the phone. Okay, she'll tell you. Ninner, Ninner, Coyote Dinner? Yes. Yeah, Ninner, Ninner, Coyote Dinner. Really, Mom? Let's talk this through. So you guys did a taste test, right? Yeah. Where you put one dish here and one dish here. But you waited three different times to make sure Ninner went to the other milk. Yeah. And then you were like, hey, listen, we get it. You don't like it here. You like that milk better. You can get. You can go. Fine. Fine. Maybe you take some Oreos with you. We tried to talk her into it, and she refused to come back. She refused. She's like, not unless you buy this brand. She got a broomstick. She tied a handkerchief on the end of it. She got her little hobo stick, and she was gone. Yeah. She got into a plane. She said, unless you guys start getting Lucerne brand milk. I want soy. I want soy milk.
Yeah. And you guys have Lucerne and I'm not going to drink it anymore. Yep. And I'm not coming back. And we said to Ninner, we said Nin. Nin. You're going to break Sienna's heart. And she said, listen, I don't care. I want that milk. I want that milk. My mom, I said, mom, seriously, like I'm an adult now. It won't hurt my feelings. She's like, Sienna, I'm telling you, she had better milk. Ninner liked the milk better. Right. But mom, why didn't you realize it? Belong to us, the cat. I got an idea. Maybe your mom gets that milk. Yeah, great. I know. Makes you right. Thank you. Yeah, but I was like four, you know. I didn't think about it. Maybe they didn't want the cat anymore. And Seth is on the line. Yes. And Seth. Hi. Hi. Hi. And Seth. Mom, are you listening? I was listening and I was about to text you. That really is true. No way. I'm telling you. It's okay. It's okay. It's 2010. Girl, I miss you. This little old lady that lived behind us who was all alone. You know, we had Ninner as an outdoor cat. And, yes, we would feed her. But, you know, my husband doesn't like cats. And so she, you know, this lady worshipped this cat. She fed her in her house and basically stole her from us. And when she moved, she took the cat with us.
Okay, now wait a minute. Now that's different than the cat preferred the milk over there. My mom told me that because one day I was like, Mom, where's Ninner? And you said she had better milk. I don't remember saying better milk, but she definitely gave her all kinds of food. Yeah. Oh, that's classic. She had bacon over there. I miss Ninner, Mom. I know. I'm sorry. Oh, Ninner. Yeah. Jay. That is genius. Oh, wow. Thank you, Anne-Seth. We appreciate it. See, she wouldn't lie to me. I wouldn't. No, I wouldn't. I would have. Yeah, I don't know. We had another cat, Smudge, that got hit by a car. I don't remember Smudge. Smudge is living on a farm now. They didn't name her until after the accident. Oh, Mike. I just got that. She became a Smudge on the road. That's right. Thank you, Anne-Seth. You're welcome. Have a great day. Bye. We'll see you. Bye. She's so sweet. She is. Listen to her voice. That's Sienna. Does she sound like me? She does it. I want to put my head on her shoulder. She sounds very maternal. She's a good mom. She sounds very sweet. M1 Katie, are you there? M1 Katie from Carlsbad. Yes. Tell us about your fish. It's actually not my fish. My niece at the time was two years old and won a beta fish, you know, the colorful fishes.
The fighters. Yeah, the fighters. You can't put them with other betas. No. She won a blue one at a carnival. Two weeks later, it died while she was at the babysitter's, and her parents flushed it, bought another one, but couldn't find a blue one, so told her it changed colors. Oh, no way. Yes, this happens. This happens. Did she buy it? No, she won it at a carnival. No, no, no, no, no. Did the child believe it? Yeah, she was too. I guarantee she's like a 29-year-old LOB. And right now she's like, no, no, no, no. Betta fish change color. That's what happened. And people are like, no, they don't. They don't change. Why do you even think that? They're the chameleons of the fish world. Yeah, that's right. I guarantee she's like telling people like, guys, yes, they do. I had one. That is the most common one, though. All parents replace pets and hope the kids don't notice. Oh, I did it to my kids. I bet that girl has been drunk with her boyfriend before going, You're so stupid, Paul. You're so stupid. Paul, they change color. And Paul's like, no, they don't. They don't change color. Have another Captain and Coke, though, Slick. I'll get one more. I'll take one more Captain and Coke. They do, too, change color because I had one, stupid. You're not real bright, are you? I am, too, and I had one. I had one. I had one. Easy there. I had one. Don't touch my cigarettes.
I didn't. Those are mine. Oh, those are yours. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I don't smoke Virginia Slims. I'm sorry. I don't smoke Javelins. I don't smoke Javelins, okay? Are those yours or mine? Yours. Those are yours. How many times have you been in the bar and heard that girl? Oh, gosh. Do you have an extra cigarette? How many times have you been in the bar and been that girl? Twice. My family friend had a dog, and his name was Brownie, and I was like, eight years old and i used to you know i met the dog when i was like five and i'll go over there he was an outdoor dog and then like one day they were like yeah brownie ran away and i was like oh no like two years ago i was like gosh remember brownie ran away to my sister i'm like do you think like where do you how far do you think he got like where do you think he went she's like you idiot oh my gosh brownie died
Wait, what? Yeah. No. It's so hard, dude. Hey, I'm 30, almost 35 years old. Jamie might have to come up with some kind of story with one of our dogs. I'm serious. If she's like something happened to Sonny, I'd be, I would, I pray, I'm going to tell you right now, I'm probably going to need the day off. Do you have favorites? No. Then why did you just say, if it were Sonny? Yeah, what's up with that? Because I've gotten five of them. He does have favorites. I'm sorry, Honey Bell. I'm sorry. Because that's the manliest sounding one he's got. Why do I always say Honey Bell? I don't know. Honey Bell. Honey Bell. Because you're, I don't know. I always say that. But FYI, if something happens, kids are probably not coming to work. Do we have bereavement days worked in for pets? We should. For pets? I would need like a week for my dog. Really, Woodsy? I'd be like, dude, I seriously can't. It's sad. I would not say that now. I would have said that three weeks ago. Yeah. It is sad, though. Bro, here would be me that day. That's a part of the family. My kids had three. We had three little mice, and they were all little kids. Were they blind? No, they weren't blind. We had three little mice, and they loved their little mice, and they fed them and all this stuff. And one day I came in there, and two of them were dead. And I was like, oh, my gosh. So they're like, Dad, what's going on? They're sleeping. They've been sleeping all day long. And I started shaking the cage around, kind of carrying out. Look, look, they're so happy. Oh, no.
I got outside. I'm shaking the cage, shaking the cage. I'm like, oh, look, they got out and ran away. And I kind of tossed them into the bushes. All three of them died? No, just two of them died. I let the other one go. I was like, oh. What a production. He's like zero, dude. Dancing them out of the cage. I was like, look, they're all so happy. They've got sunglasses and canes. About three or four months ago, Maddie came to me and goes, Dad, did they really run away? I'm like. What do you think? I don't want to lie to them. One of them did. Happiest cats in the neighborhood. They're like, oh, look at this feast. Exactly. Mouse snack. 570-1949. It's so funny because when you're a kid, you just react differently to stuff. And I don't know what that magical age is that you go from reacting strangely to reacting more mature. Never. It's never happened yet. It hasn't happened for Woodsy. Woodsy's still afraid of stuff he was afraid of when he was a kid. We were talking about it the other day, like I'm afraid of clowns. Me too. Oh, me too. Creeped out by clowns. I don't watch scary movies.
I don't either. At all. I did on Saturday and I was terrified. I don't. At the movie or? No, at home I watched Lovely Bones. It's pretty scary. And it was just so creepy. And I was like, Todd, do not leave my side. Do not leave my side. And he had to go to the garage. I was like, no, no, no, no, no. Sienna, I'm so glad you said that because my wife was like, let's watch Lovely Bones. And I go, I don't want to watch some scary movies. She's like, it's not scary. I'm like, I think it is. You don't want to watch a movie with the one with Bones in it, dude. You know what I mean? But Lovely. Yeah, they're lovely, though. Lovely. It's not like jump out and you're like, ah! It's just... I love those movies. You do? Scare the crowd. Really? Yeah, I love... Did you... Rabbit hole, never mind. Was clowns as a kid? Oh, yeah. Hated clowns. It's all the worst. Pennywise. That's all I needed to see. Coming out of the gutter. Oh, with those pointy teeth. Yeah. I think I'm the only one that wasn't afraid of clowns. Like, everyone is. Killer clowns from outer space. Scariest. Nope. You know what I was? I'm not a nerd. Were you afraid of trees? I was afraid of the shadows of trees coming through my window. Yeah, me too. We lived in Connecticut. Dude, surrounded by trees. And this one time, I'll never forget as long as I live. I got in a fight with my folks and I ran through the woods. Oh my gosh. I'll never forget this site as long as I live. There was at the end of the street one solitary light pole.
with a very low light, and I looked down. I'd run away. I was like, I hate them. I'm never going back. And I look over, and there's a dude leaning against the light pole, and the light is shining down on him. It's at night. We're probably 10 o'clock at night. Smoking a cig. Smoking a cig. Leaning against the pole, smoking, and he kind of looks over. I looked over. We're probably 50 yards from each other. I was like, I just pooped my pants. Ran back home. I was like, I love you. I love you. That's so scary. It is the seminal moment in my life. Literally, I will never forget it. Wow. When my life is passing before my eyes, I'll see that dude look at me. Oh, God. What did he look like? Oh, like a creepy hat. He had a hat for sure. Creepy hat, boots, like. One leg up on the pole. One leg up on the pole, blast the stick. I was like, wow, I'm going to die. Are you sure you didn't imagine it? It's such a trip, man. No, that's the truth. Because as my parents, I read it, I was like, Mama! It's such a trip how our brains work because even Jake, who is three years old, will watch these different cartoons on the Baby Channel or whatever. The Baby Channel. That's what it's called, the Baby Channel. Is it? Yeah. And there's this cartoon that Fiona and friends scares the crap out of him. Really? Granted, it's Fiona Apple sitting in a rocking chair. Why is it on if it's scary? Why is it on the Baby Channel? It isn't scary. It just computes to him. It scares him.
Sometimes we're afraid of things that aren't really necessarily meant to be scary, like a clown isn't meant to be scary. But for whatever reason, maybe because they have exaggerated facial expressions and stuff like that, we're afraid of them. My son is afraid of this thing. Now, I was thinking about it and I was like, it's just so weird how that stuff gets stuck in our heads. We had a painting when I was growing up, an oil painting. And it's this woman. Actually, it's not a woman. I thought it was a woman when I was a kid because anybody older than five was a woman. Yeah. But it's actually like a girl. She's probably 12. Why do you have that? My mom had this portrait of a 12-year-old oil. It's an oil painting of a 12-year-old girl with her head down looking at flowers with her eyes closed and a bonnet. Oh, my gosh. I feel like I have the same painting. Really? I wonder if you do. Probably. How weird would that be? But anyway, so.
This painting used to scare me. You can't see her face, right? It's just the bonnet. No, you see her face. Oh, never mind. Okay. Weird. I had a dream. She opened those creepy eyes and looked at me. Holy cow. That was it. Forget it. I used to run through that room. I would run through that room to get past that picture. Creepy paintings are awful. So, talking of eyes opening, Kim's grandmother bought us this little doll. And it's one of those antique dolls with, but you put batteries, like D batteries in the back, so it couldn't have been too much of an antique. But she would talk, my mom, play with me. And its eyes would, you would stand up and its eyes would open. You'd lay it down, its eyes would close. I hate that. So we're like, okay, we don't like this doll. We're going to get rid of it. Let's take the batteries out. So we took the batteries out. Take the batteries out. The next day, the baby goes. I'm going home. I'm going home.
And Kim goes, ah, funny, you put the batteries back in. I'm like, no, I didn't put the batteries back in. Check, no batteries in it. Oh, my gosh. Its eyes are opening. Ew, ew, ew. And they're like, okay, I'm just throwing this doll away right now. It's like, get down. Dude, I have goosebumps. It's the creepiest thing. It's the creepiest creeper. Chucky, child's play. Yeah. The way he did his arms. Yeah, the arms coming up like the doll. Play with me. Yucky. Is it yucky or Chucky? M1 Shannon from El Cajon. You there? Oh, yeah, I'm here. Go ahead. Oh, my family left out of town for the weekend, and we were house-sitting and dog-sitting for them. And they were going to get back. They got back yesterday evening. So we were playing with their dog and watching their house. And I went to work yesterday, and my husband came home for a split second and let them out and forgot to shut the back door. And so... He called me when I got off work and told me that their dog was missing. So they got home and my entire family was freaking out and crying. And it's really horrible because I think they love this dog more than they love me. So now this little Yorkshire Terrier is running around somewhere in El Cajon. You just ruined Woodsy. You just ruined Woodsy. He's got Yorkies. He's got four Yorkies. Are you crying? I'm sorry. Oh, he just pushed away from the microphone, put his hands over his mouth. He's hyperventilating.
His name's Charlie. Oh, Charlie. Is there only one color of Yorkies? Well, he's black and brown, and when he's just standing there, his little pink tongue is always out of his mouth. Just a little bit. He's gone. In El Cajon? Everyone look for him, Charlie. I'm going after work. He's super small, and he's the cutest thing ever. I'm going after work to look for him. If you have a picture, put him on the Mikey Show Facebook fan page. I'm going to look for him. Oh, that's a good idea. I'm going to look for him after work. No, really, my entire family is driving around El Cajon right now screaming Charlie. So is it your husband or your boyfriend? It's my husband. How is he pretty much just packing a bag and moving to Alaska? Because I know I'd have a hit squad out for him. What's funny is when I got married, I kind of got kicked to the end of the table. And then when we got the dog, I kind of got kicked to the end of the table. So my family tends to like my husband and the dog more than me. So it's my fault. Oh, little Charlie. Charlie bit me. I randomly put this on my blog today. It's so long. You bit me. Charlie, love that too. Genius. That's genius. I used to babysit a little girl who was...
I mean, terrified beyond belief. Tears, screaming whenever the vacuum would come out of the closet. Really? Like she thought she was going to get sucked up the vacuum. I just hate vacuuming. I hate the sound of a vacuum. A lot of dogs hate vacuuming. Oh, my dogs hate vacuuming? You know what I hated when I was a kid? What? Did you guys ever have a deep freeze? Oh, yeah. Are those the floor units that open from the top? Floor units, they open from the top. They're probably about eight feet long. Yeah. And you open them and the... You think you're going to find chopped up bodies in there? Yeah, chopped up hands and feet in there. We had one at our house when I grew up, and I would run past it. I was always convinced there was going to be something in there. Something dead. Oh, yeah. Frozen. Oh, White Stripes. We've got some new releases we're going to do for you. We're going to find out why Susanna's lurking around in the halls. What else is new? That's right. I think we know who she wants to talk to. It's coming up. Be a part of the Mikey Show now. The great thing about AT&T U-verse TV is you can record a show in one room and play it back on any TV in the house. That's important. Just ask Mike here. Hey. Mike worked late tonight, so he had to record the ball game. Yeah, but when I got home, my whole family was watching some show in the den. Families will do that, Mike. Thanks for the tip. Luckily, you first let you record shows on one DVR and play them on any TV in the house. Cable can't do that. So the game I recorded, I can watch it on the TV in the basement? Yep. How about my bedroom? Sure. Rumpus room? No problem. Closet? Put a TV in your closet? Why, is that weird? Only AT&T U-Verse lets you record and play your shows in any room with a single DVR. And now you can build a U-Verse bundle starting at $99 a month and get $100 back via promotion cards with qualifying services. Call 1-800-PICK-ATT, visit an AT&T store, or click att.com slash TV. Geographic and service restrictions apply. Go to att.com slash TV to see if you qualify. Taxes, early termination of fees, and other charges apply. One year term required for bundled U-Verse services offered in 7-17-10. For details, visit att.com slash TV details. Now, back to the Mikey Show. Mikey. I get along better.
With women than I do with men. Sienna. I always wanted to punch someone in the face. Woods. Do a lot of things I shouldn't do, pal. Lauren. I worked at Comic-Con. And Jay. I don't watch sports. I have nothing to do. If I'm not playing, I don't want to see it. This is The Mikey Show on FM 94.9. We're going to be meeting you at our meet and greet. Woo-hoo! It's going to be real good. We're going to be doing a meet and greet out at Hoolies in La Mesa. It's 5500 Grossmont Center Drive in La Mesa. We'll be there on Friday from 5 to 7 at night. And it's your opportunity to come by and say hello to myself and Woods and Lauren and Sienna and Jay. It's going to be great. And you can get our new Mikey Show FM 94.9 sticker. It's very similar to the new billboard that you see around San Diego. It's pretty cool. And Hoolies all ages until 10 o'clock at night when they really.
Bring on the party. You can also see Woods and Jay, the bet. Yeah, they're going to pay off the bet. They have a bet. Who can drive a ball the furthest? On Thursday. On Thursday at the Mikey Show Invitational. The loser has to eat something. Woods will either have to eat Indian food. Which he has. He hates. We bring it up and he starts. He freaks out. And then Jay, who has not eaten meat in 22 years, will have to eat veal. A baby cow. Oh. Seems fair. So one of those guys who loses the bat will be eating that at the meet and greet. Well, there you go. Let's see. What are the new releases that we have out today? We have the National High Violet, which is one of our recommended albums on our website, fm949sd.com. If you want to check it out. The band's called The National? The National. So good. The thing now, I think, is retro. Yeah. And it's a retro thing that is very specific. It's not just 80s pop. It's 80s British alt-rock pop. I think, right? Mouthful. Yeah. That's the national. Also out today, we are The Fallen, The World Down. No, it's not. They compare her.
To Amy. Oh, yeah. She sounds just like Amy Lee from Evanescence. Do you not like that, L.O.B.? No, I like it. Start it over. Just tell me if this sounds like L.O.B. That sounds like L.O.B. to me. Every Monday in our meeting, L.O.B. does this thing. It happens once every meeting. Yep. She stretches, and she does this super high pitch to Mariah Carey. Super high. I can't do it. I can't do it on cue, yeah. It's like a cat. What else coming up? Jennifer Knapp, Letting Go. Cher? Sounds like it. Hey, you? That's pretty good. I don't have one. Oh, my gosh. It's good. Meatloaf is out. Hang cool teddy bears. Some mashed potatoes for this single. I picture an overweight guy and a button guy. Yes. Tuxedo shirt? Yes. Long with dad hair? Yes. I don't know. You talk a lot. Mike, he talks a lot about.
bands and songs and things that he just doesn't get. I never ever understood Meatloaf. I do not speak that language. I don't speak that language. Honestly, and I'm being sincere. I'm not saying this to be facetious. I would need a Meatloaf fan to sit across from me at a diner. How funny does that sound? I would need a Meatloaf fan to sit across from me from a diner, have their discography in front of them. And I would need them to step by step walk me through. And I would have to give my argument so that they could explain me out of it. Explain it away. I would have to go, why does he do this? Guaranteeing anyone that's a Meat Loaf fan is also a Melissa Etheridge fan. Or a Rush fan. There's one song that's like Dashboard Lights. Dashboard by...
Paradise by the Dashboard Light. That's one song that he kind of does a normal thing. I never liked it. It's all, his style is, it's a musical. It's operatic. And I hate musicals. Yeah, it's a musical. Everything's a musical. I'm like, oh, I don't get it. I don't get musicals. How about when they're like, and rounding first base and that one. We're going to go all the way tonight. And then there's a voiceover. Oh, and they have a voice in the background? We're going to go all the way tonight. We're going to go all the way tonight, tonight. And then they're like, I'm rounding first base. You've got meatloaf. No way. That's a single? Yeah. That one, I don't know. What else you got? I'm so out. As I lay dying, the powerless rise. Soothing. That's... Yeah, when I was out in Maui, I used to just lay in the hammock, look out at the Pacific Ocean, and... Fall asleep to this. I don't get you, Mike. I feel like this could be a song you would like. Yeah, it's like you don't even know me. No. I know. I want to say this is a local San Diego band. That's Cookie Monster. This song's going to be on my birthing CD when I go to the hospital. That was, yeah. Yeah, the hospital asked you to make a mix to put on the iPod. And you're like, can you please play the As I Lay Down? Like a push. Push. No, it's good stuff. It's just, it's, you know. What sounded like.
It sounded the, when they started doing the actual singing, it sounded really good. But it was the beginning. It's the double bass is tough for me. You know other people use that microphone. I know. He just ate the microphone with his entire mouth. They got another morning show in here. Yeah. Hey, wait, wait. No disrespect to As I Lay Dying, who's a San Diego local band. Love you, kids. Do you. Do you. Who is next? Jackson Brown and David Lindley, Love is Strange. Oh. Is that what Neil? I'm imagining riding a bike. He's born bad. Yeah, riding a bike through a barley field. So what, you just call a sundae. Yeah. Might as well call this song Lauren Sunday. Yep. Sundae with pepper. I picture her on her bicycle, pedaling through the fields. Of wheat. Sienna and I holding hands right in our bicycles. We're like, this is so calming. The zipper coming out of the basket. Zipper, my dog. Sleigh bells, treats is out. Did I press two buttons at the same time? No, you didn't. It sounds like it would be on Slumdog Millionaire. It sounds like it's playing twice. Sounds like algebra. I kind of like it, too. I'm in. Sip my Kool-Aid. Yeah.
A lot of stuff going on there. Party in the club. Foreigner is also out today. Can't slow down. Please slow down. Is this new? Yeah. It says out May 11th. Eyes around the prime. It's like a Marlin sore. Can't you? Mike. I'm sorry. I apologize. It is. It's very Nickelback-esque. Yeah, perfect. That Lou Graham dude, he's got a good voice. They're still touring. They were at the Belly Up last year. I think that sounded good to my eardrums. Oh, look at this dude. M1 Gromit's calling from Mesa. Gromit. He's a Meatloaf fan. He's going to explain. He's going to explain. He's going to explain. Go ahead, Gromit. Hey, how's it going, man? Good. Yeah, I'm a huge fan. I've been since, like, Mad NL2 came out, and I was in seventh grade. You're the one. And I am one of, like, two people. It's me, my buddy Chris, and my buddy Clayton. Okay, now, how did you... Did you have a brother that was into it?
I think my dad was. I think, you know, I stole my dad's final of Bad Outta Hell 1 probably when I was like, I don't know, maybe 15 years old. All right, so walk me through it. What's the deal? Like, how come I hear a musical and you hear just fingers in the air? Yeah, you hear brilliance. You know, I don't slight anybody for not liking it. It is. I mean, it's huge. It's over the top. And really, it's me both as Jim Steinman. Jim Steinman is the guy that wrote pretty much any single that. Meatloaf did that is really, really big. Jim Simon's also done a lot of stuff for other musicians. Like the Phantom at the Phantom of the Opera. He did that music. Yeah, well, when you hear it, do you like, you know how like a lot of times, Woodsy, when you're listening to Godsmack, you're like rocking out. You know, you're rocking out to it. Like, do you rock out to Meatloaf, Gromit? Oh, God, yes. Really? I wail. You wail.
I'm singing it at the top of my lungs, Mikey. Yeah. You go to the meatloaf concert with the gloves and you stick the glove on and you're just like... Five other people. Nice. I never have. He was going to play it a few years back and then it got canceled. Really? Weird. I heard he's playing a snow cone stand in Escondido, so maybe go check that out. The Eskimo Blue Waters? Yeah. Him and Eskimo are going to be playing a show. I don't know. It's huge. It's over the top. Jim Simon actually writes really fantastic lyrics. All right. I'm a huge fan. I'm almost a bigger fan of Jim Simon than I am of Meat Loaf. Sounds like it. I really like Jim Simon's lyrics. Yeah, I can tell that. Maybe Meat Loaf should have borrowed Bernie Taupin instead of Jim Simon and somebody would have listened to him. Hey, listen, to each their own. To each his own. To each his own. I just never got it. You know what I mean? Thank you, Gromit. I don't like to turn around at all, my friend. I got one question for you, though, Gromit. I've heard a million rumors about where he got the name Meat Loaf. Do you know the answer? Um, there are fans by the most. It's just, like, your father gave it to him because he was always a big guy. He was just always a really big guy. It's really sad. His father called him Meat, and somewhere along the line, Loaf got tacked on to the end. Someone eventually called him Loaf, and... Loaf. It was all over. That's another terrible word. I don't know if this sounds lazy. We got a couple more. When we come back...

Here's more of the Mikey Show on FM 94.9. They're here David Lee Roth talk. I mean, yeah. Like a madman. He did a radio show for a while. Yeah. He was on the Eagle in Dallas. I listened to it. I liked it. Yeah. Oh, he's hysterical. He's just kind of non sequiturs. He's all over the place. Smart. Yeah. Really smart dude. But he's kind of all over. What's the problem, dude? What's that? No, I was just surprised. Yeah, he's smart. A couple of other new releases coming out today. Modern English. It's a soundtrack. Nice. Is this new Modern English? It says, yeah, today, Modern English soundtrack. It's not fair. Who's the audience? The people that listened to it back in the day? I'll stop the world and melt with you. So if you dug it when you were a teenager.
Probably dig it now. Now you're an adult and you're like, oh, yeah, I still love them. Yeah, why not? All right. Cocoa Rosie is out today, Gray Oceans. Listen to this. Is that a four-year-old? No, listen, keep listening. Look at Mike's face. There's something oddly seductive about it. I kind of like it. You should see these freaks. Is that a guy or a girl? Yes. Yes. It's like a four-year-old little girl auto-tuned. They've got, like, dark lipstick around their faces. They're all pinstriped. They're blue people. Well, there's a bunch. I was looking at Jay's thing, and it said, if you like the XX and if you like all these bands that I like, you will love Cocoa Rosie. Hit it again. Don't understand. I'm going to get it. Mushrooms. I want it. I kind of like it. Mushrooms. Mushrooms. Mushrooms.
Lauren just went all the way around her microphone with her head. That's really creepy. It's like orbiting. A little like gnomes. Wow. That's what they did with Oompa Loompas. Like Wizard of Oz or something weird. What does it sound like? All right, those are your albums. Now DVDs out on DVD today. Daybreakers with Ethan Hawke, Edge of Darkness, Mel Gibson, and Legion with Dennis Quaid. There you go. That's all coming out on video today. Yeah. Or DVD. Anybody watching Lost? No. You know it. Is it tonight, the final thing? Nope, nope, nope. We have like two more weeks. And it's going to be a two and a half hour finale. Of course it is. They had two hours. The first hour and 45 minutes they have to explain. Yeah, they show you. No, no. They're having an hour before that to explain. And then it was supposed to be a two hour finale, but they had so much material that they had to turn it into two and a half. Way too much thinking going on for me to watch a show like that.
I don't want to play puzzles and stuff. This is a chick that plays Kate on Letterman talking about the finale. Here's what she had to say. Go ahead, Kate. Is this going to give anything away? Should I take my headphones off? I don't think so. Say it, Kate. I'm going to be really mad. Yeah, I don't think she would spoil on Letterman. She might. She's already made it known she's not going to be acting anymore. She's not? No. What's she going to do? She wants to just do her thing. Cool. Yeah. I wonder what she's going to do. Go back to school. I remember reading something about her going to another island and doing charity work. Oh, really? Yeah. The Sopranos went off the air, the final season of The Sopranos. No, I didn't have a TV. Okay. Easy, Lauren. I like you. It's easy. They were at a diner and you're looking around and you're looking around a lot of red herrings and you're looking around, then they just go to black. And a lot of people thought, well, now wait a minute. I thought, well, that's pretty good. I don't mind that. What kind of an ending will this have? Well, like the ending of The Sopranos that you just described kind of sounds like the ending of every other lost episode. True. The finale, without giving too much away, holds true to our lost traditions. What does that mean? No.
What does that mean? It represents the show nicely. Does that mean they're not going to answer? I have a feeling, yeah, because... It's going to make people so mad. They're not going to wrap it up with a little bow. The thing is, this season, they've been solving a lot. And you find something out always at the end, and you know. Well, let me ask you stuff. But Lost is known for leaving you hanging. What the heck's that polar bear about? That was like the very first episode. Was that the smoke monster? They never paid that off? No, I think there was just bears there. They were for testing for the... Dharma Initiative that was on the island. What about the smoke? The smoke? I don't... That came out this season, and so I don't know if I'm going to give it away if you haven't seen the season, but it is a certain character on the show who is the smoke monster. Of course he is. Really? Yeah. His name's Woods. Yeah, I'm the smoke monster. Yeah. Woods is the smoke monster around here. No, but the smoke monster can kill anyone. Of course he is. We also call him the Marlboro Lights monster. Marlboro Man. Well, that show was really great season one.
Loved it. Yeah. I'm really looking forward to being over because it's exhausting. I watched it every episode. Hillary, you watch Lost? Really? So let me ask you. Did it at some point lose you and now you're just invested in it so you keep watching it? Absolutely. Yeah. I'm just like counting on it to all come together for me. But it doesn't frustrate me. Like my father-in-law and stepmother-in-law are like... angry about it and totally cut it off. She goes, she still watches it, but she watches it because she said she has to. They forced her to watch it because she has to now see what happens. But she goes, it's so complicated. And she goes, there's so much like complication. And I said, I asked her the same question. I go, what's the deal with the polar bear? Because the last time I watched it was season one. It was with the Dharma Initiative, right? They were there for testing or something like that. So I go, what's the deal with the polar bear? She goes, I know they told me, and she goes, and it was complicated, and I can't even tell you what it is. What's the bit? I trust that I enjoy it, and I trust that something's going to make sense at some point. Yeah. What's the bit? Was there a plane crash? Yep. Oh, come on. Plane crash on an island. Okay, see, I'd be on board with that. Oh, dude, let me tell you something. The first season of Lost is some of the best television I've ever seen in my life. Really? And it's like they're surviving and trying to figure it out. Then they get off the island, right?
Here's the deal. Some of them. Let me explain. Why do only some of them get off? Can you break down for us? I'll just tell you this. This is my theory. I believe that the producers, J.J. Abrams, the guy that produced that show, got hired by ABC to make a TV show called Lost. And he created one of the most amazing, groundbreaking pieces of television ever. And he went, after it was a huge success, he went, I have no idea what. to do i don't know what to do no they're piecing it together every little bit now they are but i don't think they had a plan out of season one season one was a runaway smash hit and they were like okay let's make more seasons you know where you guys lost me is when they started doing stuff about like sci-fi and i'm out if it's real like they're on an island Then I'm all the way in. Castaway is like my favorite movie. Hillary, Mike just played a clip of Evangeline Lilly, Kate on Lost, and she says that the season finale, did you hear that? I heard the clip. Now, what does that mean to you? That means they're not, yeah. They're not going to show everything. They're not going to tie it up in a pretty little package. I'm going to flip out. Yeah, I'm going to be mad. You're going to be mad. Because I am one of those people that is like investing time. Yeah, to find out. And that's what I don't get.
I think that they should understand that as fans, you want everything answered. You want to be satiated. It's got to be a meal. Especially that show is just nothing but a million questions every episode. But here's the deal. They can also leave it wide open for the next 10 lost movies that they're going to do. You know what I mean? Like The Sopranos. It doesn't have to be cheesy, but as long as it makes some sense. Yeah. Like Sopranos left it wide open. For a movie? For a movie. Yeah, but these people on Lost, I think, are done. It's coming. It's coming. You don't worry about it. We'll be here. What do you got coming up today, Hill? I don't even know. I was in the other room listening to you guys. Some Clash, I'm at. Yeah, I'll probably grab some Clash. We'll see. I'll run into it. Did you have any family members that listened to Meatloaf? Can you answer the Meatloaf question for us? No, I cannot. I'm on board with you guys. Thank you. No, do not get it. I thought she was going to come in and fillet us. No. I love Meatloaf. Yeah. Do not get it. I do too, but with mashed potatoes. Yeah, which I'm about to have for lunch real good. That's right. Lovely and talented Hillary's up next. We'll see you tomorrow morning at 6 a.m. Mikey shows up. Financial media state. The music all day and night. Them 94.9. It's about the music.
