Pet names for spouses has The Kid drop “Sugar T’s”. Sienna has some thrifty tips for saving money. Audio of kidnapped Laura Ling is disturbing. Mikey wishes he could be that shirtless guy with long hair. LOB running backwards leads to funny things you’ve seen at the beach. Woodsy has a big yawn for American Idol. Flip flops on steroids are sexy but not according to the girls. What skeeves you out? Garrett jokes abound after the break. Who lies more; dudes or broads? Women lie about the headache bit…go figure. Dave Matthews croons his way through his own songs co-written with Eskimo. Lauren’s brain-to-mouth filter goes on the fritz again when she refers to a Rolling Stones song as “Devil’s Sympathy” and this gets the crew dropping LOBisms such as “Tonky Honk Woman”! Woods would French kiss Chris Cornell. Weird things happen to women’s bodies during postpartum depression and even men can have it too. Rebecca works hard with those three boys at home.

KBZT San Diego. The Lincoln Financial Media Station. The new home of The Mikey Show. This is FM 94.9. My trainer said something so motivating to me once that she's never had to say it again. Whenever I'm working out and I need motivation, all I need to do is remember what she said to me. What is it? Working out one time and struggling to get the weight going or whatever. Get the weights that I was trying to lift or whatever. And she said, you're going to tell your kids you can't do it? Oh, man. Now all I have to do is remember it. She made me do something yesterday called burpees. You know what burpees are? I know exactly what it is. She sits in a chair and puts you over her shoulder and pats you on the back. Have you ever heard of those suckers? And I even said to her, I go, I wonder how Woodsy would do with these. Probably terrible.
I tell. You stand up and you hit the deck, but you don't. What I mean by hit the deck is you go down, okay, and you're in frog position. Okay. Right? Yep. Then you kick out into push-up position, do one push-up, then hop back in and stand straight in. Yeah, we used to call those kick-outs. Kick-outs? Yeah. Frog position into push-up, do a push-up, kick back up, stand up. Those are called burpees? Yeah. Who knew? So what's going on? How's the weight loss going? You look good. Really? Yeah. I can tell a difference. You can tell a difference. Yeah. He's chugging water all the time. I absolutely can. Because my weight hasn't changed much, but she says quit looking at the scale. Yeah. My belt goes on. My belt's almost to the last thing. Mike, that's a great sign. Right? Absolutely. That's the best. But I was so discouraged. Muscle. Yeah. Weighs more than fat. But she's really good. She just takes it to me. Yeah, she's been getting you. Oh, yeah, she gets me. You don't go on the scale very often, right? Every day. That's the worst thing you should do. That's the worst thing you could do.
Woodsy, I'm like you with the boards. Like, I can't stop doing it. I go, like, don't look at the boards. I can't stop. They go, don't look at the scale. I go, listen, I'm me. This is the way I do it. Fair enough. Right? The same way. Try and stop because you'll actually see a difference. If you wait, like, two weeks, you'll be like, oh, my gosh. Really? And that feeling is going to be awesome. My goodness. Because how much of a difference can there be in one day, you know? Do you feel better? See, people ask. Do you feel awful? Yeah, no, I do. I'll tell you what feels great is when I get on a rowing machine and I'm not like. That's good. You know, it's funny that you mentioned that because I was talking to Jamie yesterday. I went surfing yesterday afternoon. And I remember the first couple of times I went out with Jay, I'd paddle 10 paddles and be like. Now I'm catching waves and then I'm paddling back out, catching waves, paddling back out. I can go all day. It's great. Stamina. All day. I mean, not all day, but you know what I mean? 570-1949 is the number. Call us. Say hi. 949mikey at gmail.com is how you text us. I'm Mike. I'm the host of the show. Go by Mikey very sophomorically. Can't change it. Can't do anything about it. It's there. It's stuck. And can't change from being Mikey. You're going to be 60 and you're going to be Mikey. That is true. That is true. My wife and I were talking the other day about what people call me. People in my life.
And most people have a different thing for me. I said, in general, the women on the show call me Mike and the guys on the show call me Mikey. In general. I call you Mike a lot of the time. Yeah? Miguel. And it doesn't matter to me. You can call me whatever you want. Even when you call. Little Boots. You can call me Little Boots. Cubby. Cubby. Maestro. Maestro. All of it works. Woodsy is our sports guy. And he is not wearing glasses today. He's got his contacts in. Looks real sharp. Well, I was supposed to have a date today after the show. Yeah. And it may get canceled. Why? Because Jay's family's coming in town. Not my family. Who are you supposed to have a date with? Jay. Surfing? Surfing day. Yeah. Now the family's coming and it's not going to happen? I feel like Frankie right now. Maybe. Kim's folks. Kim's folks are coming into town at 11. Yeah, they're the in-laws, though. You're supposed to not want to hang out with the in-laws. Yeah, but I'm gone this weekend. I'm gone this weekend as well. Perfect. Yeah, I know. It is perfect. Can't get out of that one. Jay, you play your cards right, you maybe never have to see them at all. Stop. Living the dream. Lauren is our assistant producer, and Lauren does a lot of voices. She's a comic. She is a blonde woman. She's comical as well. She's comical. Comical.
She's 29 years of age, in case you're asking, and her eyes have been rejecting her contacts lately. I hate them. I'm mad today. Maybe you get LASIK. Maybe. I remember that bit, doing the contacts. Me too. Really mad. Sienna is our news girl, and she is 25 years of age. She's going to be having a baby in August. Jay is our producer, and he's 46, and he's taking his boy to Catalina. Just the two of them. It's going to be cool. How are they getting there? On a sailboat. That is insane. I know. That's the craziest part. It takes like 10 hours, you said? It's about seven or eight. It depends on the wind. Is it just the two of you? No, there's a whole other group of fathers. That's really cool, man. That is so cool. Jay, if there's no wind, do you have to turn the motor on? Yeah, there's a motor, too. You can motor, but that takes a little longer even. Went and got all the supplies yesterday. Got it all geared up. Nice. I bet Jay. Gets supplies real good. Oh, you know it. I bet he knows exactly. It's all organized, got good, like all the best stuff. It's probably awesome. Yeah, it's going to be amazing. I know. I could just see him unpacking like this goes here, this goes here. Oh, yeah. Master. Did you guys know that we had an earthquake yesterday in San Diego? Nope. Didn't feel it. Was it on Facebook and stuff? It was all over Facebook, but I was on a run, so I didn't feel it. I was in the water. Yeah? I was probably feasting on Sunday.
Meatball sub. Yeah, meatball sub. I think I was, like, taking a nap. Yeah. Where was it centered? Ocotillo. Yeah. Does anyone know where Ocotillo is? No. Because I don't either. I keep reading about it. Yeah, it's Maggie. I'm sure he knows where that is. No, they've had other ones there recently, too. And they're all the aftershocks from the one on Easter, the big 7.2 from Easter. But the one that was yesterday around 5.40 p.m. was a 4.5. You may have heard yesterday, if you saw it in the news, that it was a 5.1, but they're calling it a 4.5 magnitude quake now. That's a baby. That's a little baby. If you just keep going past the Wild Animal Park through Ramona, that's where Rocky T is. It's a big desert where everybody goes and rides their motorcycles and ATVs. 76 miles from San Diego. Such a cool place. Nice. Thanks for clearing that up, Jay. 55701949 or text 949mikey at gmail.com. The phones are so slow, first thing. And then as the morning goes on, they start to heat up. But you can feel free to call about any topic. I'm picking music today, and it ranges from really rocking hard to really not. So thanks. A little Wilson Phillips on there today? No, there's not. Oh, man, did I regret talking about that yesterday? I didn't. For those of you that didn't hear, Mike was driving in his pickup listening to Wilson Phillips crying.
I was years ago. I was 20. Mikey was crying. It was a year ago. It was a year ago. It was yesterday, basically. I was 20. I was working in Salinas, California. Salinas. I was driving home in the morning after working overnight. And all I could think of was how terrible my life was. I was going back to live with my mom. I lived with my mom and dad. I'm driving back to their place. And I'm listening to this big popular song on the radio at the time. It was Wilson Phillips' Hold On. For one more day. Were you practicing ramping up the post? Yeah. You know what? I used to do that on that drive. I used to be practicing to be a DJ. I would talk up the intro of the record until the person started to sing. I used to do that all. That's like what you do when you're getting in the biz. I would love to hear you ramp up Hold On by Wilson Phillips at some point. Yes. At some point you mean now. And by some point I mean right now. Let's see. Let's get this day started off right, Mike. I'm sure I have it. I'm sure you do. Oh. Weird. Just go to most recently played. Yeah. Recently played. Like this morning. I'll buy it really quickly. Buy it quickly. Sure you will. No, he is buying it. I saw yesterday. He actually didn't have it on the iTunes. He had to play a little sneak preview. You know, the only reason that I don't have it is because.
The only reason that I don't have it is because when I did have it, it was on cassette tape. Yeah, it was. Because you owned the cassette. Yeah. Yeah, and it didn't come on the radio. You actually owned the cassette. Yeah. And you decided... No, no, no. I heard it as a hit on the radio, liked it enough to go out and buy it on cassette. Who did you send out to buy that for you? Because I know you didn't walk in a record store and buy that yourself. Back then he did. Mikey. Back then, bro, I was... There was no Amazon. I was morbidly obese. Morbidly? See, morbidly obese is obviously a clinical diagnosis, okay? How did you ask for it at the record store? Hi. Do you have the new muscle pulse cassette? And there we go. And there we go. There we go. I'm sorry. There's a pastrami on rye in your mouth. Can you take that out for a moment and tell us what you're trying to say, little guy? Little guy. Little tiny overweight man. Mustard in your goatee. I said. KWSS 94.5. It's going to be a nice afternoon today. It's going to be highs in the 75, about 75 degrees today. Hope you're enjoying your afternoon. Wilson Phillips, hold on. KWSS. Right where that thing is. Wow. Yeah, I just, I was a little mumbly mouthed.
No, that was great. Perfect. Yeah. Sure did like that one. It takes me back, man. Takes me back to getting driven to school by my parents, listening to K-Love or something, the oldie station. Oldies. Oh, yeah. There you go. Isn't it funny what's on the oldie station now? Yeah. What's considered oldies. Def Leppard. Kelly Clarkson. Yeah. Isn't that strange to feel like how old we're getting? I know. I hate it. And the fact that kids that are... You know, in their late teens and early 20s, they don't think we're cool. Nope. No, not one bit. They don't think that we're cool. Oh, man, that's a hard reality to come to. We're not really that cool anymore, though. Yeah, you know, we don't know the styles anymore. If I could give some advice to you young men in your early 20s, and if somebody had said this to me, I'd have gone, whatever, dude. I'm telling you. Start putting stuff on your face right now. What do you mean? Let me tell you why. Moisturizer. I know that sounds ridiculous, but you'll thank me when you're getting into your 30s because your face will be, you'll look young. Now, right now you go, who cares? I don't need it. I am young. I know you don't think that you want to keep that, but when you're getting into your late 30s, you're going to go, oh, man, it'd be awesome if I still looked like I was in my 20s. You mean like moisturizer or sunscreen? Both.
Yeah, drink lots of water. It helps hydrate your skin. They have those little moisturizers that you just little pump in your hand every morning, and it has SPF like 15, and it's a moisturizer for your face. Put it on real quick, then you're out the door. Blends right in. It may be a rite of passage that you hear it and just ignore it, because that's what I did. I did. And I always thought I would never gain weight. I was the skinniest rail forever. I ate what I wanted, did what I wanted. Never worried about it. Now I'm a fat pig. Write that down. I never had to worry about that part, Woods. I never went to the skinny part. I got a picture on my Facebook. I'll show you of me walking to the beach. I was 17. You'll die. Really? Oh, I remember you when I met you, dude. You didn't know me this. I mean, I was starting to get there. I drank a lot of beer back then. I do, but when I met Woods, Woods is 34. When I met Woods when he was 24, tall, thin. Thin. Sharp cat. I can't believe you guys have known each other for 10 years. We have. Isn't that crazy? Yeah. I liked Woods instantly. Ditto. Same thing. Me too. I liked Woods instantly. Did you? I did. I remember the night that you guys... She's grown to hate me. Hey, listen. Of everybody, of everybody with Woods' personality, I was most worried about Lauren O'Brien. Oh, 100%. Weird. When she walked in, I was like...
This is going to take some time. I'll get her, though. This will take some time. No way. It was instant. Really? I thought that you would have a problem because he's so politically incorrect. He's so brash. He says whatever is on his mind. Yes. He reminded me of a guy that I used to work with at Sallie Mae who, coincidentally enough, Woods recruited to his old company, Reach Local. Isn't that crazy? The world is weird. I know. Let's see. We have... M1 Elroy on the line. Elroy, are you there? Hey, good morning, Mikey. Good morning, gang. Morning. Morning. You just reminded me of something when you're talking about, you know, getting older and songs that are considered oldies now and stuff like that. You know how on Facebook people will post on their statuses, they'll post a little snippet of a song, a lyric. You know, and yesterday, you know, a friend of mine, posted a string of words that to me didn't speak of a lyric. You were like, what is that? A list. It was a list. And I just added to the list. You know, I did a comment and I added to the list. Yeah. And he commented back, he's like, I guess you didn't listen to Biggie when you were growing up. What was the list? Yeah, do you remember the list? It was something like...
Sega Genesis, Nintendo, Super Nintendo. Oh, I know that. Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis. Yeah. He's like PlayStation 3. Yeah, you're like Xbox. PSP. I had a Dreamcast. And he's like, I guess you didn't listen to me growing up. I love that. That's the worst. I was already grown up. Yeah. You're like, oh, sorry. Sorry about that. Yeah, I didn't recognize it. Did you delete the post is what I want to know because I would have immediately. Absolutely. No, no, no. It's up there. I'll own it. That is rad. Yeah. Yeah, maybe next time he puts a little, you know, Count Basie on there and you'll definitely be sure to pick up on it. I see trees. Yeah. A little Lena Horne. Yeah, exactly. Lena Horne. Thank you, M1 Elroy. I love it. M1's a Mikey show listener. So if you hear that term, it means they're a Mikey show listener. And M1 listens to the Mikey show. And when they call in, they turn their radio down, get to the point. They don't cuss. And they listen for long periods of time. You're making new M1s if you're an M1. You belong to the M1 nation. It's an entire culture. And if you want to know what that culture is all about, all you got to do is go to Facebook and search the Mikey show. You'll see it all over there. It's a whole culture.
you'll see a lot of git. You know what I'm saying? You will. Greatest fans in the world. That's right. The best. Let's see. M1 Michael from La Jolla. Hey, Mikey. What's up? I am just calling to acknowledge you guys. I love your show. I am 42 years old. I've got two kids. I'm married for 10 years. You know, I'm a career man. And the music you guys play from, like, the old stuff to the new stuff, what you talk about, I totally relate to all of it. You have the perfect combination of personalities on your show. All your voices sound perfect. It's just an amazing... Keep going. Yeah, call in every morning. Maybe you call in every day. Maybe you come work on the show with us. That's right. Michael, I love it. Thank you, bro. Yeah, thank you so much. You guys make such a difference for me for my drive in the morning. And you're really like a godsend. So thank you for what you do. Thank you, man. I appreciate that. That's all. It's very nice of you. I love him right there. Yes, he is. I can't hear that enough. I just can't, man. I can't hear that enough. Can we get a resident cheerleader in here? Seriously. Tell us how good. I met these guys the other day, this band. They're called One Louder, the number one louder. And they were like, you guys make our day every day when we're driving. And they're saying it to my face. And I'm just like blushing like a little schoolgirl. They're the best, man.
This is a kind of interesting story. Panera. There's a Panera location on the East Coast, Siena? Yeah, it's in, actually, Montana. Oh, not the East Coast. No, sorry. What do you call that area? Mountain State. Somewhere in the middle. Mountain State. That's what you call them. I'm born and raised here. I don't leave the bubble. You know this. That is true. Everything is East Coast, even Arizona. That's right. So what's the deal? Well, they've just opened a new nonprofit store in Montana, in Clayton, and this is insane. Now listen to this. Nonprofit store. Ever heard that? They opened it this week, and it has the same menu as all of their other 1,400 locations. However, the prices are a little bit different at this particular store. Customers are told to donate what they want. For the meal. It could be anything. It could be $100. It could be a penny. It could be whatever they feel the meal is worth. And this is just insane. That's what they're doing. It's been going on for a week and it's been going great. I'm sure people are taking full advantage. They've done this with music. They've done it with music. They did it with Radiohead. And they've done it with music. And it's been very successful musically. The difference, I think, is that that's art. And so when people are buying music.
They're given a hundred bucks sometimes for the album because they appreciate the art. I'm not really sure people are going to go in and throw down a 20 spot for a sandwich because they say, oh, yeah, this is so delicious. I believe it's worth 20 bucks. All of us. I think all of us kind of go, I want the cheapest sandwich I can get. See, that's where I kind of differ with you, man. I think I would walk in and I think I would pay. Normal price. I'm not saying I'd throw extra, but I think I would say, okay, it's probably like $8. Here's $8. Really? Yeah. If it was all over the store that, you know, non-profit, proceeds to benefit, blah, blah, blah. They're banking on people that have warm hearts. Goodwill. That Radiohead album, I bought it in rainbows and I paid $11.99. Yeah, but he's saying it's art. I can see you doing that. Right, right. I can see people doing that because it's art and you appreciate the band and you're like, dude, this is worth a hundred bucks. I'm going to give 11 bucks for this. I wouldn't be the guy. Would you be the guy that walks in and goes, give me a, let me have a meatball sub. Give me a chip, someone a Coke. Go ahead and throw a cookie in there too. Uh-huh. And then you say, here's a nickel. Are you going to be that guy? No. No. No way. You'll probably throw a 10 down. How bad would you feel if you were that guy? Yeah, you'd feel like an idiot. Yeah, I guess it's that you feel, you would feel bad.
It's just that with food, man. Here's the other deal. Here's the other deal. Radiohead, I believe, artsy fans. Okay? Artsy fans. They get it. They're artsy. They give a lot. Panera Bread, you're taking everybody in the segment of our culture. You know, you're going to get people, probably a lot of people. that are going to just take advantage of it, I think. And I think because it's a chain restaurant, too. It's not like a one-of-a-kind place. Like, people can go all over. They're familiar with it. It's like, what's so special that you would pay so much? Well, the only thing I would say to that, though, is I, my old territory used to be Montana. Yeah. You have about, in the whole state, about six choices to eat. Oh, really? Literally, in the whole. Really? I've been all over that state, and you're like, hmm, what am I going to have for dinner tonight? Chicken or chicken? Yeah. It's desolate. Yeah. I was going to say, they have to have picked a place that was somewhat affluent and maybe not a lot of... Dregs. Yeah, it's probably a good idea. We'll see how it works out because if it does work out good, it could be a Panera Bread near you. It's a good social experiment. It really is. Here's good news. John Travolta, who lost his son Jet, is pregnant with his wife Kelly, right? He's not pregnant. They don't share a uterus. He hates when you say that. He doesn't like that. Yeah.
What's he doesn't like? They're not pregnant. She's pregnant. Hey, we're pregnant. Are you? Or is she? Clown. Guaranteed Todd's sleeping just fine at night. Oh, yeah. For sure. So, what's the deal? Okay, well, this is pretty nuts. You know, it's very exciting. They lost their son, Jet. Like you said, Mike, last year, he's 16 years old. He suffered from a seizure. And now Kelly is pregnant and she's 47 years old. John Travolta is 56 years old. And they've been having a lot of bad news in the media recently. You may have heard that their dogs just died. Both of them were hit by a car at the airport and killed. So this is just awesome news for them. They are saying that they're thrilled. It's impossible to keep it a secret. So hope everything goes well because they deserve it. What? It's Sheryl Crow? No, Don Henley. Sounds like Sheryl Crow. It's Don Henley. It is. Sounds like the first cut is the deepest. It does. Part of the matter, Don Henley. 98.7, J-Way. It's Don Henley, part of the matter. Good job. A little early, dude. Damn it. Paul Pierce, he just broke one of the standard unwritten rules in sports. Probably land him and his teammates in a lot of trouble. You want to know what it is? We're going to tell you next in Woods on Sports. Don't go away. She said you'd find someone. What? You missed. I was jamming next to her. You were doing a little air guitar tour? Well, unfortunately, the Padres' winning streak against the Giants ended late last night. They dropped a heartbreaker in 12 innings. Come on. Matt Latos pitched pretty well again, only giving up two runs in six innings, but his bullpen let him down. Well, here we go again. The Padres are going to Chavez. to take on the Dodgers tonight. Game time, 7-10, Piel. I'm feeling good about it. How do you like that? How are you? Yeah. Probably not going to watch. John Garland will take on Ramon Ortiz. I'm going to listen. You told me. Hey, did anybody write you about how to watch the Padres? No. Weird. Well, the Chargers, Mike, are looking to add some insurance to their kicking core. They brought in journeyman kicker Nick Novak to serve as potentially a backup to the NFL's most accurate kicker, Nate Kading. Mm-hmm.
Nate Kading is still rehabbing the groin pull that caused him to withdraw from the Pro Bowl last year. So Novak, he's a San Diego native. He spent time with six NFL teams. He's 19 of 30 in his career in field goals, and he's made every extra point he's ever attempted. Well, we need it. Hey, listen, Kading's great, but the guy will have his issues with the injuries. That playoff game, too, was rough. Yeah, twice with the Jets. Three. And he missed three, I thought. He did it with the Jets once in 2004. He did it with the Jets again. But who's counting? He's done now. He's just done with that. Exactly. And the Celtics are still taking care of business. They're now up 2-0 against the Magic. They won last night 95-92. So Paul Pierce tweets, anybody got a broom? And obviously insinuating the Celts will sweep the magic. Here's Magic Center Dwight Howard responding to the tweet. Cut to one. They only won two games. I mean, they can write what they want. But, you know, we're going to stay humble and stay focused. And pride will come before the fall. Just know that. He's going to helicopter. Love it. I knew, Mike, you would love it. Love it. Pride comes before the fall. Do you understand that? Pride comes before the fall? Does that make sense, Sienna? No. Pride comes before the fall?
Pride comes before the fall means if you do a lot of talking and you're being real boastful and proud and all that, that's what happens right before. Oh, yeah. One hundred percent. Yeah. Right. I would never. It's like you're asking to fail. Absolutely. Yeah. And Paul Pierce sounds pretty confident that he and his team are going to take it home. Here is cut to Mike. Our fans are going to let us relax. We're going to try to close this out two games. Y'all hear me? We come home to close it out. Still running mouth. Yes. And then some quick NHL news. The Blackhawks have taken a 2-0 series lead over the San Jose Sharks. Great. And this one's for LOB. The Flyers of Philadelphia beat the Canadians 3-0. They're also up 2-0. Beatdown. Name one Flyers player. There you go. There you go. Perfect. And then finally, the Washington Wizards have won. Mikey, name one NHL player. Shatan. Miroslav Shatan, you're right. Yeah. He played 974 years ago. Yeah, I don't think he plays anymore. Wayne Gretzky. No, I'm saying now. Do you know anybody that plays now? Mike McDonough. Does it count if they're in Canada? I think he retired. Yeah, it counts if they're in Canada. If they're in the NHL. Carrie Underwood's fiance. How about Josh Gretzky? Wayne's four-year-old son.
And finally, the Washington Wizards have won the NBA's lottery, and they will have the first pick in next month's draft. They'll probably take John Wall from Kentucky or maybe Evan Turner from Ohio State. Lottery. Yeah. It's ridiculous. I know. It's so. Let's put a bunch of balls in a big clear ball and blow them around with a big broom or a big air thing. It's so. It looks so antiquated when they do it. They're like, yeah. And the winner is the Wizards. That's what's on sports, bro. You'd think that they would do it the same way that other teams do it in professional sports. You have a bad record, you pick first. Absolutely. It goes backwards. Yeah, I don't get it. This is interesting. I don't know if you guys heard about this, but apparently a girl was trying to fake. her own death or something she was uh in a coffin or something like that oh yeah this woman she was 19 years old and her name is nicole and she was on a on the she got in trouble for something we don't know what it was but she was with the cops and somehow she managed to escape from the cops and went to a funeral home where she hid in a
Coffin. Wow. The person working at the funeral home found her, called the cops. Now she has a big bail set, and she's in jail. Yeah, for sure. She probably needs an attorney. Yeah, she probably does. Happened in Philadelphia. Yeah, hi. I was calling because I need some representation. Okay. I was arrested. It's a load of crap why I was arrested. What's the charge, ma'am? Well, see, police found me in a coffin in a funeral home. Are you a necrophiliac? No. Okay, do you know what an acrophiliac is? Uh, no. Okay. I don't really either. But what was the charge that you were brought up on? Well, they said I was evading the police, but I'm dead. Well, you're obviously not dead since you just called me. No, I'm dead. You're alive. I'm dead. You're alive. Okay, but I'm dead. Um, well, can't you prove I'm dead if I just hold my breath for a long time and close my eyes at the same time? What, are you seven years old? No, I'm 19.
Honey, you can be a piece of pumpkin pie for all I care. But you're definitely alive. Well, I feel like I'm dead. Well, you're definitely not dead because you just called me. So I think you're crazy. Maybe take your meds. Did you go to law school? Yeah, I sure did. So maybe you can do your job. University of Texas. It's a real good one. Okay, so maybe you can do your job and just prove that I'm dead. I told you I'll hold my breath and I'll close my eyes. And so then if they take my pulse. Maybe I don't represent insane necrophiliacs. Maybe you take a chance. Okay, maybe you get. Talk to you later. Okay. Okay. Okay. That's great. I love that neither of them know what a necrophiliac is. That's pretty good. You guys want to hear something good? Yep. Jay's recap today? This was a little... What did he do this time? Yeah, what did he do this time? Not smart. Crazy guy. I'm not smart. Tell me if you guys have ever done this bit. He's had a great show yesterday. As soon as the show was over, we were all free to go. We didn't have to do a lot of extra work afterwards. And Jay's getting in the elevator. We're on the seventh floor of the building. He's getting in the elevator. He's all there by himself. And the elevator is taking forever. So he's standing right there in the middle ready to jump.
On the first door that opens up, right? You know when you're waiting on the four different elevators? Yeah. So he's waiting there. Finally. I can just imagine where this is going. I know Jay so well now. Door to his left lights up. Door opens up. It's empty. Doesn't get any better than that, Jay says. Oh, Jay. Empty elevator. Yeah. So right as he's getting on there. He lets out a little... Nothing little about it. And he walks into the elevator feeling all smug about himself. Goes to hit the floor that he wants and notices it's already been hit. by the woman standing to the left in the front corner. She was like hidden. It was like she was hiding in there. That's not fair. Now you can't see that. Did you welcome her to the gas chamber? Gosh. Execution chamber. Was it like a... And then walk? Or were you both feet in the elevator and... It was one foot in the elevator and it was...
Loudness? She does. So not only did she hear it, but she had to smell it the way down. Yeah, and I could not make eye contact. Oh, yeah. She did the thing where she crosses her arms and puts her hand up over her face. If I were her, I would have gagged. Awful. I would have started laughing so hard if I were her. You wouldn't, right, L.O.B.? Oh, heck no. You would just stand there. I would have gagged. I would have gone, dude! I let her out first. Born in a barn? Everyone's done that. He thought it was empty. He thought it was empty. Because so many barn animals are just walking in the elevator. Yes. Yeah, even barn animals are like, that's gross. No, they're not. They do it all the time. They never do it. Jay, I love that recap. Anybody ever done that? Todd did it the other day. He did? You might kill me for this. This was hilarious. Actually, he was telling me the story. He was in our living room, and Jenna was there, a nine-year-old, and she had a little friend over. They were having a sleepover and playing hide-and-go-seek. Now, what you need to know is in our living room, we have four different doors that are into the living room. We have a lot of doors in our house. So Todd was sitting on the ottoman.
by our couch watching lakers or something and the girls are playing hide and go seek so jenna's friend first time she's ever spent the night is he comes and hides and todd doesn't know because she comes into the door behind him right so his back is to her and she's hiding behind the ottoman on the floor in between the ottoman and the couch right and he just you know lets one rip real quick he thinks he's by himself just lets it fly about 30 seconds later jenna comes in looking for her friend he's like Found you! And the last one was like a foot from Tom's butt. Oh my gosh. She said she'd never made a sound. Of course not. She's repulsed. I'm like, babe, she's never going to come back. She's terrified. You know what's funny? As that little girl, that little girl probably will remember that story the rest of her life. Because if it happened to us, we'd remember that the rest of our life. We always do. But Todd's also the type of person that would do it in front of her too, just like to be funny. Like he doesn't care really. This is along the same lines of it's just a different type of embarrassment. To this day, I don't know if the person knows. Okay, I think, but I'm not sure. I think, but I'm not sure. Okay. When Rebecca had Jake.
When Rebecca had Jake, we had a lot of friends that would bring food over. You know, because she just had a baby. They were helping out. They were bringing some food, okay? Really helping my friends do that. You mean the delivery guy that brings food to your house every night? No, friends making meals. Actual friends. Friends like Domino's. No. But he's friends with all the delivery guys now. No, it was like Whitney, our friend Whitney, and our friend Tanya, and all our friends, right? Yeah. Well, this one day, I was... This one day, you guys know how I am when I'm on the computer. Nude? Yeah. Naked. Butt naked. Yeah. And... Birthday suit. Rebecca was home and I knew that there were no people over. There were no nannies. There were no whatever. Allegedly? Right. Sure. No, there weren't. I knew that there weren't. Little walkthrough.
And so... In a towel. I'm standing on our banister. Okay? I'm standing on our... The upper... When you walk upstairs. What's that called? I don't even know. It's a balcony. The landing? Kind of a balcony. The landing. The landing. And I'm doing this bit. Babe! Honey! In your laptop outfit? Nude. Yeah, my laptop outfit. He's just jamming it naked. Oh, my God. Babe! Honey! Meanwhile, she just delivered twins. Yeah. No, this is Jake. This is Jake. Yeah, just delivered Jake. And she doesn't, she never did respond. And so I'm walking back into the room and from somewhere in the house, I hear our friend Tanya go, I think she's outside. Oh, my God. And my heart drops into my stomach and I'm like, where is she at? Where is she at?
I had no idea she was at our house. Nude hide and go seek. Oh, my gosh. To this day, I just in my head go, she didn't see anything. She didn't see anything. I don't think she would respond if she. Right. Unless she just didn't want you to come any closer. Maybe she thought you were going to come look in there wherever she was. Yeah. Yeah. Mike, she saw your job. Take one of your robes from work and take it home. Take that gold-laced robe you have in the corner. You've got nine robes here in the office. Just take one of them. Let me out of here. Get me the hell out of here. I think you can pretty much know now not to walk around naked because there's always people in your house. I wonder where Jake gets it. Seriously. His house is like, it's literally Grand Central Station. We were there for dinner the other night. And there were people coming and going. And I was like, what is going on here? Now, back then, it wasn't like that. Jake was just a little guy. He was an infant. So we didn't have, it was just her and I with a brand new infant. There wasn't people over at the house ever. Question. Yeah, Woods. What were you asking Rebecca to do? What did you need? Sandwich?
I have no idea. Glass of water? I don't know. Glass of water. Babe! Ham! Little bit of cheese. Lettuce if we've got it. Amazing. Cut off the crust. Guys upstairs writing hoyle bits. Fix my sandwich. Babe, ham! Ham! Little bit of cheese. Yeah. Little mayo. Easy on it, though. Easy on that mayo. I'm bloated. Just a thin layer. So I'm the same way. Wait, how long ago did you buy that lettuce? Yeah. Is it fresh? I only want the fresh stuff. From the top of the stairs. I love it. You've done it. Oh, I do it all the time. I'll wait for her because I know if she's going to want a snack too, I'll wait for her to get it. I'll just sit it out and wait it out. Yeah. Hey, will you get my charger? Oh, and a snuff and spitter. I need a spitter. Once they're up. And grab me a snack, too, and a water. She's like, I hate you so much. I did that to Todd last night. I asked him. He's like, God, you've always asked me. Why can't you just get up and do it? I'm like, look, you're already up. I asked him to get me some strawberries. I laid it out. This is what's funny is that as a husband and a wife, we both hate because she'll do it. Hey, babe. Yeah. And we both can't stand it because we do this. Yeah.
Hey, babe. Yeah, I said. Maybe you just call each other and you're still fine. Tell Jamie we need walkie-talkies in our house. Yeah, you need next tells. Yeah, that's a rule at our house. You can't do that. You can't. Even the kids can't just, Dad, Dad, Dad. It's a rule at our house, too. How do you enforce that? I know. I just don't answer. Because Kim will do this. She'll walk out of the room going, Jay. She just walks away. I'm like, do you want me? Or are you just trying to make me crazy? I do that, too. Really? Yeah. Wait, do you guys, Jay, do you call each other by your names? It depends. There's so many people throughout the house. If you just go, hey, you know, it's like, so Jay. I never call my wife Rebecca. Me neither. If I do, it's because I'm real mad. I never call my wife Rebecca either. You don't? That's a good move. We call her dear. You should. We call each other dear. When you're mad, aren't you like, Jamie?
Like, whatever, Jamie. Yeah. So is that the only nickname you only call her deer? I have a million of them. I've never heard anyone call each other deer except for you and Jamie. We do. Yeah, my brother and his wife. I call her Boo. Mm-hmm. Sweetie. Sweetie. Honey. I call Kim Squirrel. Squirrel. That's the best one. Squirrel. Get over here, Squirrel. Squirrel! I call her Sugar Tease, but I can't say that word on the radio. Can't. 570-1949-949-mikey at gmail.com. Yeah. Lauren O'Brien looked like she'd love it if her man called her that. Sugar tease. Yeah. First of all, nobody would call me that. Do you call? Fair enough. Have you guys ever reused something? Yeah, well, babe. Babe, right? Yeah, that one you have to. Babe's like ubiquitous. Sugar. Baby. It used to be hun and sweetie. Yeah. Babe and baby got the bump up in like the past 10 years. Creep you out when people call their other baby. My baby. My old, I do all the time. My old one was baby. I do it too, I think. Baby? My old one. It wasn't, it wasn't babe, it was baby. It wasn't babe, it was baby. You're right. The old cute, whatever his name was. Is it hard for you once those nicknames start? Like, I remember like the first time I ever started calling Todd babe, I was like, this is so uncomfortable. Yeah. Yeah, the first time. The first time, right? I don't know if you remember, but the first time you called someone sweetheart. What do I say?
Oh, right? I probably said it when I asked him out on a date. Yeah. Hey, sweetheart, you want to grab something? Oh, it took me months until I ever said something like that to him. He calls me sweetheart. I call Jay sweetheart sugar. Hey, sugar. How you guys? Sugar. Hey, hon. Just weird. Sienna, what are some ways that we can make some extra money? Well, if you are crafty, you can make some little crafts and sell them. No, I'm not. No, he's doing that. What else? Why? You should write it down. He's doing that. If you're crafty. Nobody's making crafts. Maybe you take really beautiful pictures. I'm crafty. When did you take them to a flea market? When's the last time you made something crafty, kid? Let's see. Make earrings? I made this guitar pick earrings. That was probably, I don't know, a couple months ago. I made magnets. Yeah, but not to make. Art's and crap store. That's what she does for a living. Art's and crap. Art's and crap. What else, Sienna? I mean, make the coins count. Do you guys have like a collection of coins in your house? Everyone does. I went and dumped coins in that machine at the grocery store one time. Don't go there. Coinstar. Go to the bank. I don't care. You don't have to pay. Can you take it in bulk or do you have to wrap it? Take it in bulk.
Take it in bulk, man. They'll dump it. They'll take care of this. In my bank, you have to pay a percentage still. Zero percent. That's really cool. I didn't know that. Don't take it to Coinstar. They get 10%. You got 100 bucks, they get 10 bucks. Dude, I didn't know that you could take bulk to a bank and not have to do that. That's a great suggestion. Only certain ones, though, right? Otherwise, you have to wrap it yourself. It's worth asking. Do you remember wrapping coins? Worst thing ever. Yeah, it was the worst. I would much rather just dump it at the grocery store because I'm there. I don't have to wait in line and just dump it. Was there anything more frustrating? than a sideways quarter going into a paper quarter holder. Was there anything? Yeah, there was. It was made of the same stuff they make paper bags that you go to the grocery store. And you put the pennies in and they slide out the bottom. You're like... When they're on their side, your finger's not long enough to get in there. So you're trying to manipulate a sideways penny and you're like... And then one of them gets sideways with a penny on top of it, so now you have a sandwich of pennies. Yeah. And you're like, I don't want to do this anymore. My nanny used to make me wrap coins. It's the worst. It's the worst. What else? Eliminate the extras, Mike. You go to Starbucks every morning. How much do you think you spend on Starbucks a week? 50 a week. 50? You can't replace that, though. You can't make coffee that tastes like that. You can't. Why don't you buy Starbucks coffee? You can't really go home and make a Big Mac, too?
You make that? You can buy Starbucks coffee. They don't sell Big Mac ingredients. They sell Starbucks coffee. They sell so Big Mac. It doesn't taste the same. It doesn't taste the same. I'd rather have my own burger than a Big Mac any day. You can buy everything on a Big Mac in the store that you can at McDonald's. Really? Yeah, but woodsy. Ew. It ain't going to taste like a Big Mac. It'll taste better. Absolutely. 100% better. It will not. Oh, the Big Macs are all smushed. If anybody is in the neighborhood and wants to bring the kid a Big Mac, I'd be happy. He'll do a blind taste test. What else, Sienna? Clear out the clutter. Have a garage sale. Clear out the clutter. You know what I mean? Like, how much extra stuff do you have piled up? Like, Woods, you just moved, so you know. We just made, like, three grand on a garage sale. Mm-hmm. They helped. I should say Jamie just made three grand on a garage sale. And then another thing is, you know, you have so many books and DVDs, most of which you'll know that you're never going to watch again. Throw them up on eBay. The king of DVDs right here. CDs, video game collections. He won't look at me. eBay is such a B. I'll never put A. He won't look at me. I know. He won't look at me. I know, because it's bad. I know. Guestimate. He has so many movies. How many?
Oh, yeah, at least, you know, 20 or 30. 1,000. Yeah, right. 1,000. There is well more than 2,000. I do not. I totally agree. No, I'd say about 1,000. More than 1,000. I would say 1,000. You have 1,000 DVDs. You have 1,123 DVDs. How many bookshelves do you have, though? You have, like, big wooden bookshelves. There's about three in your house filled, right? Oh, and all the things in his office, the big things. He's pretending like he's not even here. Yeah, he's checked out. What's that, you guys? Listening to your iPod over there. I got crazy audio. from the girl, I believe it's Lisa Ling's sister, was taken into custody by the North Koreans, and Bill Clinton negotiated her way out of there. It was a big story for a long time, but... He's a smooth talker. Yeah, he is. Listen, just let her out. Hey, let her out. I know this girl that works at Applebee's, and I'll send her over there, and you guys can have her. I know Hostess, all right? Hostess at Applebee's. I bet you do, Bill. That's all right.
But anyway, she was talking about what went on while she was in custody. Naively, I thought, hey, listen, she was in custody. Probably, you know, some bad food maybe for a couple of weeks or however long. It was a long time, first of all. And it was gnarly. I'll tell you all about it. We got the audio. 570-1949. Or text 949mikey at gmail.com. How did you morons even get in here? More coming up on FM 94.9. If you are looking for a great deal in a Honda, nine is your lucky number. And we were taken into custody. What would we do? What would we do if they had us and they wanted us to confess to the fact that we were spies? And we weren't. We were just a journalist over there trying to do a story. Well, that's what happened to Laura Ling. Take a listen to this. There was a guard above me. He was particularly fierce. And he, as I was down on the soil, he was above me. He kicked me with his boot. He knocked me in the face, in the shoulder. And that just sent a shock through me. And then he continued to drag me across the ice. And there was a soldier upon Uno that was doing the same. So we were slowly being dragged across the frozen river. And while we were on the ice... Again, I wanted to try to do anything I could to stay as close as I could to China. And I actually started yelling, please, please, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, we're sorry. And I think that only made him more upset. So he's dragging you across the ice. He's dragging, and I'm screaming. Did I read, too, that he hit you with a gun butt? At that moment on the ice, it was about, he was getting closer and closer to North Korea. He raised his rifle, the butt of his rifle.
I looked up, I saw the rifle coming down, and I thought this could be the end for me. No doubt this will be made into a movie. No doubt this is going to be made into a movie because it's a crazy story. She's a journalist, worked for National Geographic, the National Geographic Channel. I remember when it happened, it was big news that she was taken into custody. And I had no idea that this is what happened. I thought she was just spending. Yeah. If anything, I thought it looked like an office building. Yeah. Jail, whatever. But they got her to confess that she was trying to overthrow the North Korean government. They were able to get her to confess to doing that. I know it. Anyway, so here she is talking about this ordeal. You know, you talk a little bit in the end of the book and shared with us. having to put your family through this, the U.S. government through this. But during that whole time, were you thinking about how did this happen to you, that you got yourself into this situation? Of course. And I was angry at myself. I would go into the bathroom and look at myself in the mirror and think, who are you and how did this happen? And I literally would, I hit myself. I slapped myself because I wanted to punish myself.
for putting my family through this. Wow. And I thought about that every day. Pretty compelling. And the pain that they must be feeling. That was the hardest thing for me. I just gave Woods a great book called 4,000 Days. I've not started it yet. It's a really good book about a guy that spent 4,000 days in a Bangkok prison. He was trying to bring heroin into the United States from Bangkok. You don't do that there. No, you don't. They don't like it. And they're pretty gnarly about it. 4,000 days is how long? That's like 10 to 12 years. Yeah. I mean, just a crazy, crazy story. I'll put a bullet in my head. For sure, right? 570-1949 is our phone number if you want to call us. You can also text us 949mikey at gmail.com if you want to get a hold of us that way. This is M1 Chelsea from Kearney Mesa. Hi, Chelsea. Hi. How are you doing? Hi. I'm good. How are you? Good. What were you calling about? Well, I just wanted to know what you thought about this. I Googled my boyfriend. You Googled your boyfriend? Yeah. And we've been dating for a couple months. We both work at a bar. And I found out that he was arrested two years ago for stealing a car in Tennessee. He never told you that? Oh, wow. No, and I actually...
I don't really care. And you're sure that it's your boyfriend and not somebody with the same name? Like John Smith. Oh, yeah. Okay. How do you know that it's your boyfriend and not somebody with the same name? His mugshot was on there. Oh, wow. Oh, my gosh. I was going to say, he probably doesn't have a common name. Yeah, if there's a picture, you know it's him. He's never told her. I can't. I mean, how long have you been together? We've just been dating like two or three months. Okay. Yeah, it doesn't really come up. I don't blame him. You don't? No, I don't. At some point, I think that's something he would have to divulge, but, I mean, that you're a felon, but, you know. That you're a felon. I mean, yeah, you want to tell. I mean, if it got really serious, that you're like, hey, listen, I ran into some trouble. So, Chelsea, are you going to kind of dance around it and see if he'll admit to it, or what are you going to do? Well, I don't know. Is that something I should bring up? Is that something I need to talk to him about? Yeah. Yeah. I would, 100%. Sure. Yeah. You think L.O.B. would? Yeah. A little Magnum P.I. over there. Are you kidding me? Sniffing around on Google. Are you kidding? Yeah. Can we talk for a minute? First of all. Can I bend your ear for a second? I wouldn't need to get on Google. I would just feel his pulse and know. That's right. You would feel his pulse and be like, Tennessee, huh? Yeah. I knew it. You stole Fiero, didn't you?
Just read his poems and be able to tell. Why were you Googling him? Who doesn't? I've done it. You do? We do it. Do we all do it? Yes. You know, there's a Steve Woods in Texas on death row. Really? Yep. Oh, wow. That's a very common name. Murder. Chelsea, when did you do it? Hello? Chelsea? I did it. Hello? Yeah. When did you do it? I did it last week. Huh. And so you've been able to keep it a secret? Yeah, like, I don't think it's that big of a deal. Then how come you can't, so you don't even think you necessarily need to talk to him? Is that what you're confused about? Do I confront him about this, or do I just let it slide? Yeah, that's what I'm confused about, yeah. Yeah, I would, how? I mean, can he get another job? Like, you know, can you get another job if you're a felon? Well, if it's her boyfriend, you say, listen.
I Googled you? Yeah. And you're honest. Up front. Yeah, I Googled you. You have to do it. See, I think it's probably the better time to Google is before, you know, you're in a committed relationship. Really? Yeah. Doesn't that seem a little bit stalkerish to do that? Well, doesn't it seem a little bit poor timing to do it once you're in a relationship? Well, they're a couple months in. It's not like they're getting... I never did it before. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I Googled Todd well into our relationship. Isn't it like hiring somebody and then two months later you're like, I think I'll do a background check. Well, maybe she wasn't sniffing around for something in particular. She's just curious, bored. Yeah, why did you do it in the first place, Chelsea? You did it, you said. I like to Google everybody. I just like to Google. Yeah, I've done. Yeah, I Googled myself. I Googled my mom. She has like 14 pages. I'm like, wow, mom. There's the two things I'm shocked about. Number one, I'm shocked that Chelsea Googled a guy a week ago that's her boyfriend and hasn't said anything to him. Second of all, I'm shocked that she found out he was a felon. Yeah. And wasn't like, you can tell me about the felony? I'm not saying that there's any, listen, people change and all that stuff. So I'm not freaked out about that. People change.
I'm just freaked out that there's a felony and you're not like... Big deal. He stole a car. Who hasn't? It's not like he killed him. Yeah, he's a rape or pedophilia. I think Woods was being sarcastic and she's like, yeah, Woods, yeah. No, I kind of... I mean, big deal. He stole a car. Big deal. Dude, I didn't say he stole Hubba Bubba. It's not a violent crime. Stole, Mike. Stole. Stole. Did I say stole? He stole. Yeah, we're in elementary school. I'm like, Mike. My wife gives me that. He stole a car. I saw him stole a car. I seen him. I seen him do it. I seen him do it. I seen him stole the car. This day. I think she needs to bring it up to the dude, but I don't think it's that big a deal. You're nuts. Well, what if it affects him from getting a good job later on? I mean, that's tough. Like, that's kind of something I would want to know about. He made a mistake. He probably got drunk, stole a car. But he didn't tell me he was a felon, bro. Who hasn't? I can't keep it in. If I knew, I'd have to be like... Oh, I know. You'd be like... I'd have to be like... And I'd have to be totally out with it. I couldn't come up with, like, some harebrained, like... Scheme? So... Okay. Have you ever been to Tennessee? Yeah. What's your favorite car? Do you like Elvis? Hey, I don't think it's anything... I think that people can change in everything.
The thing that's the big red flag for me is not being up front about that big thing. That's a big thing. Every girl he meets, hey, I got a felony. I mean, it's a beating. No, I think you go, hey, listen, you know, I've changed a lot. I don't think that you do it in a way where you're like, oh, I have to tell you this. I think that you bring it up. Let me ask you a question. Can I ask you a question? Has he changed a lot or is he still kind of wild and still my heart? I mean. Yeah, he's got a wild personality, but that's not like I think I look at him. What do you mean? What does that mean? Have you ever caught him going through your purse? Wait, were you surprised when you saw this? Or were you like, oh, typical John? Typical Bill. It isn't what he did. It's that he's not, it's kind of, I feel like it's kind of hiding it. Well, it's not something he's probably proud of. I know, but it's a big thing, no? A felony? A felony is a big thing, but, like, I mean, they're not that serious yet, you know? Okay. Is that a deal breaker? Not that he did it, that he didn't say, and it's kind of weird. M1 Stevo. M1 Stevo, your buddy stole a car? Well, actually, what he did was he told a couple of us, yeah, I can hotwire a car up at Viejas, right? Yeah. You see this car with the keys in it. We didn't see the keys on the other side. So he jumps in, acts like he's hotwiring.
Turns it on, backs up a foot, gets out, goes, see, I told you. And about a minute later, guards come up and he was arrested for car theft. They told him if he had put it back, he would have been fine. But because it was moved and not put back, he was arrested for grand theft. Oh, wow. A stranger's car? That's kind of a dut-dut-dut move, though. Yeah, and not only... The keys were in it. He still got arrested for it. He went to court. Did he get charged? He got a felony. He got suspended. Holy cow. Now. That's weird. I will say this. This guy might not have stolen a car. He might have just moved it or took it around the block. You know who doesn't get a felony? The guy that isn't a funny guy and playing jokes. But let's say L.O.B., I take a pack of Hubba Bubba and I take it from aisle six to aisle nine. I didn't steal it. Right, but you know what? Let's say I walked out and did this. And walked right back in. Guess what, Woods? Guess what? If you did that, you're not going to get in that much trouble because there's a pack of Hubba Bubba. But also it's like you opening a pack of Hubba Bubba, chewing on it, deciding you don't like it, then putting it back, and then leaving it there. That's, you know, this guy should not have broken into someone's car. Yeah, I know. He was obviously clowning around. Well, the car wasn't even locked. The car was open. It doesn't matter. It doesn't mean that you get to get in somebody's car.
And not only that, but hey, listen, I do see it as different. The dude's intention, that was obviously different in intent. And I understand that. And it's not lost on me. But I just wonder what Chelsea's boyfriend, what his deal is. I don't know. But it sounds gnarly. He's probably embarrassed, dude. He probably is. That's probably true. Chelsea, aren't you curious why he stole it? If he was in dire straits, if he was headed somewhere else with it, if he was drunk, if it was a prank, curiosity would kill me. Yeah, just to hear the story, I guess. And not to be a jerk, Chelsea, and I'm not. I'm not being a jerk, but if you don't think it's that big a deal, then why are you calling? I'm not saying that to be confrontative. I'm not trying to, you know what I mean? Yeah. But I think that there's a part of you that must feel like maybe it's a big deal because you're calling us. Yeah. Yeah, just about talking to him about it. She's one of those girls that really doesn't like confrontation. I think whatever you do, though, he's going to have a bad reaction. Of course he is. You're going to sound like a stalker. Everyone Googles each other. You're right. He is going to be like, no matter what. Check it up on me. Easy, easy. Anger is hurt, sadness, and fear. He'll be afraid when she brings it up. He'll be like, uh-oh, I'm busted. A, he's busted. And B.
Maybe a little bit of hurt. Oh, you're checking up on me. And also fear. Like, uh-oh, is she going to break up with me because I'm a convicted felon in Tennessee? I mean, I would approach it really carefully if you do decide to bring it up to them. And I would just be like, hey, look, you know, I did something that, you know, I didn't think was a big deal. And honestly, I just, before I even tell you it, like, I'm not upset. I still really like you and want to keep dating you. But I just, I have it in the back of my mind that I need to come clean. Yeah, that's good. Let's see. M1 Robert, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. Go ahead. All right. So I figured there's an easy way she can bring this up to him. Just ask him who he voted for because felons can't vote. Yeah, I'm pretty sure. It's kind of confusing. Well, I mean, that's not the part that gets me. He's going to be like. He's going to lose. You've got me. You've got me. How did you know? He might have to say, you know, honestly, I can't vote because I'm a felon. Yeah, I don't know. I think he might go Obama. I don't know. Maybe he'll say Obama. But it's lose-lose because then if he says someone, she'll go, no, you didn't vote because you're a felon. Or if he says, well, I'm a felon, then he would say, why didn't you just ask me? Why did you ask me this sneaky question? Yeah, the best thing to do is always be honest. What if he says, I voted for Obama, then what? Yeah, that's what I'm saying. She'll go, no, you didn't. He's a lying non-voter if he says that. Yeah, it'll tell you that he's a liar. There you go. How about that, Chelsea?
If you ask him who he voted for and knowing that he can't vote because he's a felon and he says I voted for Obama, now you know he's hiding it. Then you can bust him. Hey, here's a crazy idea, though. Here's a crazy idea. Why not go, hey, listen, I wanted to make sure that I was with somebody that was on the up and up, so I Googled you and found out that you're a convicted felon. Then you sound like a jerk. She didn't want to see it. She was just curious and Googling him. She Googled her friend or neighbor. Is she a jerk for Googling him? No. Then she doesn't have anything to be afraid of. Haven't you ever just been bored at work? That doesn't make her a jerk. I mean, that's the truth. The way you just presented it sounded very jerky. It did sound jerky. I want to make sure you're on the up and up. Why'd she Google him? Because she was curious. There you go. You go, hey, listen, I Googled you for kicks. And when I did, I found out that you got arrested for stealing a car. You sound very accusatory. You have to start off by saying, look, if she says she's not mad, I would say that before anything so it doesn't freak him out. Bread meets bread. Go ahead. You're a great guy. You're a great guy. You're a convicted felon. I love you. I've really enjoyed our three months together. I think it's definitely heading in the right direction. Great. Me too. I got to tell you something though. I, as a goof, Googled you. As a goof? As a goof. What do you mean? I Googled everybody. Googled my brother. You mean as a practical joke? You were joking around? Yeah. I like you and I wanted to see more about you. I wanted to see if your name was up there. So you're sniffing around. Go ahead. Yeah. So I Googled you and I found...
I saw that you've been convicted of a felony. But I just wanted to tell you that it's okay. And I still like you. Why wouldn't you tell me that? My Miranda rights? The way you're acting, Mike, would be like, okay, maybe you're not who I thought you were. Peace. See you later. I'm just trying to be honest with you. You're the one that's in trouble. Can I try it? No. I'm going to be the girl. I'm going to be you, Chelsea. And you be the guy. Okay. Hey. I was messing around like I always do on Google, and I Googled your name, and it said that you got arrested in Tennessee. But why did you put my name in there? Because I always put everybody's name in there. I've never known you do that in 90 days. Yeah, but you're not with me at work. Or not. I like the caveat, though. I like the caveat that Sienna put in there to be like, look, just so you know, I don't really care, but I'm going to be honest that I'm curious. And, you know. Is that weird that she doesn't care? No, it's not. No, it's not weird. It's not weird to you, Sienna, if your girlfriend said, hey, I don't care about this. Yeah, your girlfriend goes, I don't care about this, but you know this guy I've been dating for a couple months? Oh. He stole a car in Tennessee. You'd be like, really? You don't care? Yeah, no, I'd question it. I wouldn't, it wouldn't be like, whoa, whoa, whoa. This is not, I can't be messing around with this guy because I would assume.
That there's a story behind it. If I've been dating him for a couple months, I'm like, there's got to be more to it. If I found out he had a tracking device or something attached to him. Or something with kids or rape. You want an opportunity to have an explanation. But then, if you're just going to take his word for it, what if you take his word for it and you're like, oh, okay, well, oh, it was just a joke or whatever. But what if he just made up a side story to go along with it? Could be. M1 Carrie from Oceanside. Hello? Hey, Carrie. Hi. I'm a felon, and you can vote. Really? What did you get a felony for? Well, selling drugs. Selling drugs. Selling drugs. That's not good. You look like Susanna over there. I'm sure, but I mean, I paid my dues and everything. I'm still on probation, and I can vote. You're at a party right now? Yeah. Sounds like you're at a party right now. Not on my way to work, but me and my roommate are laughing about this. This is hilarious. Gotcha. We're both felons. Wow. I've got a lot of Thelma and Louise over there. Birds of a feather. All right, Carrie. Thank you. You guys stay out of trouble, you two. Drive safe. Put your seatbelt on. You sound like fun. Chelsea, you've heard a lot of different views. What are you going to do? I think I'm going to bring it up. I'm going to bring it up gingerly. Tell me. Give me practice. Okay. Hi, baby.
I'll be your boyfriend. Hi, baby. Creeper. Why? My creeper, because it's a baby. Hi, baby. They're not there yet. You're a married man, Michael. Hi, babe. Hey. I just wanted to let you know that, you know how I always Google people? My heart just sank. My heart just sank. He's vomiting in his hand. Yeah? Well, I really like you, and I still like you, but it says something about you getting arrested in Tennessee. Yeah. Yeah. I bet there's a fun story behind that, huh? Pretty good. I like it. I'm not mad at that. That's pretty good. That's pretty good, actually. But does he really know that you Google people? Does he know that you Google people? Because if, you know, if he knows, then you're golden. If he doesn't know that that's something... I might have mentioned it. I do it a lot. See, I don't think there's anything wrong.
If you didn't do anything wrong, you can live in the truth. You just live in the truth. If you didn't do anything wrong, you live in it. You go, here's what I did. There's nothing wrong with what I did. Even if you did do something wrong, though, why not man up? Wait a minute. No, her. No, but I'm saying even if she did, even if she like... Even if she ran a background check on him. Yeah, even if she did something like that that was a little bit out of the... Even own up to that and be like, look, it's kind of creepy that I did that. Is it? Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, I've never run a background check on someone. Have you? No! I'm just saying, honesty is always the best policy. Well, 95% of the time. Really? Honesty is always the best policy. 95% of the time. Chelsea. Always tell the truth. It's the easiest thing to remember. Yeah. When is the other 5%, Lauren O'Brien? Well, if somebody's like, do I look fat in these jeans? Yes. You do. No way! We all said that. You get shot. I'm going to do truth. Brutal truth from now on. Can't you do this? Can't you be honest without being hurtful? Yes. Saying what? Like, I like your other jeans better. Oh, boy. I got in trouble for that about two weeks ago. No, you can do that. Chelsea. I'm not mad at that.
I say that you tell them the truth and you see what happens. Okay. All right. Thank you. Good luck. Tell us how it goes. Call us back and let us know how it goes, all right? Okay, thanks. Make sure to keep your purse zipped up. Don't give your keys out just yet. Don't give them the combination of your locker. Locker. Locker. See, here's the thing, because now I'm... hyper-focused on what you were just talking about, Lauren? Who, me? Yes, you, the other Lauren. Other mom. When you say as a woman, do I look fat in these jeans? Wouldn't you, as a woman, wouldn't you appreciate it if I told you the truth but not in a mean way? Yeah, I guess so. Right? I would. How do you do that? You do it like this. You go. Like I just said it. Yeah, and you do it like this. You do this routine. You go turn around. No, you're done. Wait a minute. You're done. Give me a chance. You're done. By you saying turn around. Give me a shot. You're done. Two seconds. Give me a little bit more time. Even if you have to look, you're done. I'm a woman and I'm listening. Here's my take. Here's my take. First of all, you need to let the woman know that you're taking this seriously. That you haven't just reacted.
instantly you really want to study it if she feels like you're being attentive and that you're that you're really noticing and paying attention to her i think she likes it yeah i think she wants you to go turn around let me see huh let me see come here come closer okay wait a minute turn to the side ladies call in and you're really and you're really paying attention and then you go i don't know about those And you know what it is? It's this part right here. And you're feeling it. And I think she feels like your gut hanging over the belt. That happened to me recently. You don't say that. That happened to me recently because I had to get a pair of maternity jeans. And I was just not sure about them. And I tried them on in front of Todd. Like, what do you think? And he's like, babe, yeah, you look great. You know? And he was like, try on another pair. Just let me see. And I knew exactly where he was going. But I don't care. I would rather know. The difference is when you ask. I think. Not being brutally honest, like, if you haven't been asked. Like, if someone just walks by, you can't just be like, hey, fatty McGee. Yeah. What are you, why are you wearing those? But if somebody asks, if I ask somebody, I'm not fishing for compliments, I'm fishing for the truth. I like it. It's true. 5701949. Surf-wise today, looking kind of weak and bleak once again as some early northwest winds are putting a texture on some real small surf. Running that ankle-knee waist-high zone on average, maybe chest-tight standout spots. Just a weaker combination of dribble, southwest swell, bit of west wind swell too. And we are heading to that negative low tide at around 830. So just looking pretty weak and bleak out there. Maybe rideable on a longboard, definitely going to get better as the tide fills in. Looks like there might be a chance for a bit more sunshine today than what we saw yesterday.

I got freckles. Get out of here. And Jay. This is a paid gig. I'm 100% in. On FM 94.9. Nothing better than hearing a British accent while they're singing. Wild. It's the darkness. Love the darkness. What's he doing? The hair flip. Oh, that's great.
Welcome back. Back-to-back guitar players. Have you ever had long hair, Woods? No, kid. You didn't, Woods? No. You didn't go through a long hair phase? No. What about you, Mike? Not even in the 80s? No. Really? I was 5 to 15 in the 80s. Oh. What about you, Mike? I tried. Oh, my God. I would give anything. How long did it get? Oh, let me tell you, man. Dudes to me that could grow the long, cool Bon Jovi hair. That was, they might as well be Hercules to me back in the 80s. I was like, I can never do that. And I couldn't. I couldn't. And there were just some guys that that's just the way they're, if they wanted to, man, they could have that bunch. And you'd see these dudes walking into 7-Eleven with shades on, no shirt and jeans. And I'd be like, never, never, never going to happen. No. First of all, I'd have to lose 954 pounds. Get a Camaro. Yeah. But, I mean, in the 80s, that was cool. There was just no way I was ever going to be able to do it. We were talking with a girl that Googled her boyfriend found out he stole the car in Tennessee. Or stole it. He stole it, too. I said it again? You say it all the time. I can't figure it out. It's your weakness. Stole. Stole. He stole a car. M1 Heather from San Diego. Yes. Hi. I'm good. What are you calling to say?
Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. And I'm like, when was this? And he's like, oh, like about two years ago. I'm like, that's right before I met you. You just got out of prison right when I met you. And he's like, oh, yeah, I didn't mention it. I'm like, no, you didn't mention it. Oh, wow. He said, I didn't mention it. Oh, this is when you're already married. Yes, we've already been married for like two months. I'm like, are you serious? Like my whole world just like. I was like, are you serious? Are you guys still together? No, we got divorced. I was like, that was like the beginning of the end. I'm like, you're lying. That is insane. He knew damn well he didn't know. Of course he knew.
Well, what's he doing talking about it now, you know? He's hammered at a party. That's what I said. I'm like, you're going to freaking marry me. We've been together for like a year and a half at the time. I'm like, you're going to marry me. Stay with me the whole time. Listen, baby, this is bad Blake. The same thing happened to me in my third marriage. Don't matter. Don't matter. I'm like, oh, I was so mad. He committed a felony. I forgot to tell every wife about it. I played drunk. Divorced on the run. Hippies. Yeah, that's not going to happen. You find that out. You're done. Yep. Thank you, Heather. Absolutely. Thank you. I forgot to mention it. I want to hear more stories like that of people that found out something big, like major like that, after they were married. Like major. That's major, major. I would love to. 570-1949 or text us 949mikey at gmail.com if you want to roll confidential. Charles Barkley went on the Jay Leno show and doesn't want to talk about somebody. Here's how it happened. Let's talk about the NBA news across LeBron James. Where is he playing next year? You're the man to know. You're the man to go to. You're the man we come to and we have these kind of questions. Jay, I'm released. I got a press conference call tomorrow. Yeah. I'm a no LeBron. I'm a LeBron James free zone. What does that mean? I'm not answering any more damn questions on LeBron James. Why not? Why not?
Listen, I love LeBron. He's a great guy. He's a great player. He's going to be a free agent in 45 days. And I'm so sick of people asking me about it every single day. Every conversation starts. Where's LeBron going? I don't know where LeBron is going. I think Jay knew that. First of all, I think Charles Barkley's people goes, don't ask him about LeBron. He's sick of it. He's done. He asked him anyway. He asked him anyway. I'm pushing the envelope. Controversial. Are you, Jay? Yeah. Tell me about it. He'll answer that question for the next 45 days. So where's he going to go? I'm hoping he stays in Cleveland. I don't want him to go to New York. He asks him anyway. And he answers it. And I'm not going to answer it. I hope he stays in Cleveland. 570-1949. Let's see. Ooh, M1 Drew. Drew, are you there? Yes, sir. Tell me your story. What's up, Mikey? Good, dude. Good, good. Yeah, so basically I had to go to jail. I knew I had to go to jail for three months. And I recently started dating a girl for a week. And I told her. And she's like, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's cool. It's only three months. It'll go by fast. A month and a half in jail.
She breaks up with me. I was devastated. Well, wait a minute. You went to jail after you'd started seeing her. Yeah. That's different than having been to jail and not telling her. Yeah. We mean more like... I dated her for like a week. Oh, that's... And like I told her like two days before I went to jail. Wow. And you're mad at her for not waiting for you? No. It was just crappy. Oh, yeah. It sucks. For sure. I think Woods, you called it right. I think he's mad at her for not... Yeah, it kind of was because she was a cool chick. Yeah, I know, but... We're all cool. You don't kind of see where she's going? You got to kind of see where she's going. Even I, resident jailbird, will acknowledge that she probably made the right move at the time for her. Yeah, you know. I mean, you're dating somebody for a week and he's going to jail. I don't know. I'd kind of be like, yeah, well... Maybe you call me when you get out. Don't bend over for the soap. Yeah. Maybe she gives you some commissary, though, but she doesn't necessarily have to stick around. That's pretty much what she said. She said to call her when I get out. Yeah, I mean... Did you?
I did, and then she was dating someone else. But she told me she needed to work on herself. That's a bit. That's a bit. She sounds very whorish. Oh, what? What? What is that? 570-1949. She sounds very whorish. What is that? Do the right thing. Hey, M1 Dave from La Mesa. Are you there? Yeah, I'm here. You found out something crazy about your ex-wife? Yeah, we married for a year. We finally decided to get a car, fill out the loan application, only to find out that she had an unpaid bankruptcy, 60 grand, and about four aliases. What? Wow. How did you find out? The loan. It was on the loan paper. Oh, the loan, okay. We listed all these names and it listed her bankruptcy. We'd been together for like eight years, never mentioned it. Man, you have got to be kidding me. Dude, that's brutal. How bad and like just betrayed did you feel? Well, we're not to be a nice guy. I eventually said, you know, you have this outstanding debt. You know, why don't I assume it at a low interest rate? Now she leaves me and I'm stuck paying it off.
Oh, dude. What about the aliases, though? Well, apparently her and her ex-boyfriend were building raves and doing scams all the time. Whoa! And getting loans for it and not paying it back. Creeper. Sounds like, man, glad you're out of that deal. She sounds like a real champ. Now every time I go out with a girl, I do background checks. Woodsy, not bad. That's an upgrade from her being whorish. Yeah, sounds like a real champ. This one sounds whorish, too. No, she doesn't. She does. Thank you for the call. Doesn't she? Crazy man. Putting on raves. Did you say putting on raves? I think so. Yeah. Putting on raves with her boyfriend running up fake. That's not whore-ish. It's very whore-ish. Weird. It's so strange. Am I? No. Let's see. You want to know something really interesting about Lauren O'Brien, the blonde sitting to my right? Love to. She likes to run four miles backwards. No. Yeah, she does. She runs backwards because she's trying to work out her quads and her calves and she'll run backwards four miles. I didn't. How do you see? She doesn't. No, no, no. She has little rear view mirrors on her shoulders and they jut out so that she can see what's behind her. Seriously. I don't run the full four miles backwards. You don't? It's intervals. If you run four steps, that's too much. Like this. Like this. And a quick turn. How far will you run backwards? I usually, I wear my iPod, so I do like a verse or a chorus of a song.
Or sometimes I'll be like, okay, I'm going to wait until I pass that person because it's awkward to turn around and go run backwards past somebody. Hey, Woods, you wouldn't laugh if you saw a girl running backwards? I would die laughing. You should see some of the stuff people do down there. Wait, down where are you? On the beach. People think it's like anonymity or something. She goes twirling, somersaulting. Going into a jog, somersaulting. I have seen a lot of that since I moved here. Yeah, you know, you guys realize you're in public, right? When like dudes are out there doing like high kicks on the beach. What are you doing? Go to your house. So there's a guy out there in spandex and an exercise ball. I saw. I know. It's so weird. I saw a Euro guy yesterday at the beach. He had, no, it was at Tamarack. He had the tiniest. He was in the pool. This thing was like a string bean. I'm in the water. That's what's cool there, though. When Rebecca and I were on vacation, we walked out to the pool and I went, uh-oh. And she goes, what? I go, two o'clock, two o'clock, two o'clock. She's like, no, honey, it's 11.15. No, honey, look to two o'clock. And there's a dude in a red, like, banana hammock. Red.
Red. Look at me. Yeah, red because he wanted that banana hammock to go, check me out over here. Was he packing or what? No. Why would you do that? Why do they do it? I don't get it. I don't know, but in Europe, that's sexy. That's Republic. It's not as sexy in Carlsbad. Yeah. These were boy shorts. They wore boy shorts for a nude. I've seen them. Best part. You're not a boy. Best part. Pink. Pink. And he was with a pretty hot broad. That's awesome. Yeah, and she thought it was his sexy. Maybe he didn't have a bathing suit, so he borrowed hers. Wear your pink trunks out to the beach today. They're so fabulous. Great. She goes, don't stretch those out too much. Oh, wait. I don't have to worry about that with you. They were painted on. I was literally paddling out going, what a bud. That's fantastic. It was great. Let's see. 570-1949 is our number. Lauren wanted me to play this song she's into, too. Yes. Are you going to do it? I'll just play a second of it to appease you. What is it? Wait, what do you mean? It's like hip-hop, too. It's the number one summer jam.
Is that what you've been running to? Justin Timberlake, winner? Nope. Winner. Will Smith, Summertime. Nope. I don't even know if it's available. What do you mean? You can't get it on the tunes. You've got to go to my blog and get it. Oh, really? Yeah. Timberland? Man. Have you listened to it, Mike? No. Jamie Foxx? Some obscure... No, I haven't. Should I not play it? You can, yes. Is it dirty or something? No, it's not dirty. It's hilarious. All right. It's just that if it's not available on iTunes, what does that mean? To me, that's not a real song. That's exactly right. Oh. Is it this thing here in red that says, watch blah, blah, blah here? Yeah. Okay. How do you find this stuff? How do you find these bizarre things, Lauren? What the hell is this? Aren't you doing the robot? How do you find this stuff? Wait, I want to get to the good part. Really? There's a good part? Can you turn it up in my headphones? No, but you can turn your own headphones up. Is she on a crack at cocaine? What's happening right now? She's lost your mind. I don't know who she is right now. I know it. I think she's seriously... Everything I thought of her is now different. Are you doing, like, woodsy snuff? Like, during the commercial breaks, I don't know, but you're, like, doing... You're chewing Copenhagen? It's that thing that you were just... Whoa, now my headphones are way up. It's that thing you were just looking at, Woods.
Oh, that thing? The strong bad thing? What is it? Sienna. I don't know what's happening. You got to talk to her about her drinking problem. I don't know what's happening. It's a little, like, I don't know what you would call it. A web series? Garbage. I don't know. It's called Homestar Runner, and they've got little shorts on there, and that was their music video. Yeah, short. Ready for this? You guys, open your door. Would you work out to this in the gym? 100%, right? Yeah! 100%. This is a guy's workout song. I'm going to say Defton. Elite, though. Not Elite? No, this one was actually a radio song. This one's called Back to School. Mikey's Show Pageant. We're going to do the Mikey. We've got to answer questions. Today? Yeah, we're going to do it next. We're really going to do that. We're going to do it next. We're going to do it next. Oh, my God. It's better than I thought.

And it looks like the 94 westbound this morning between Kelton Road and 25th Street. We're also seeing some stop and go in that area. This report also brought to you by Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. Southern California has a water shortage. You could replace a port.

He's hands down the best. And he'll get to work with you. $150 will give you.

CreateYourDesignOnline.com. Okay. So the other day, we were talking about these girls. That do pageants. And that these girls are able to go on and on the spur of the moment are able to answer these questions about all kinds of stuff. Pop culture. So Jay is going to ask us the questions. And we are going to be on the spot and have to answer. So is it okay if we answer it like them and avoid the question completely?
Sure. You know, you give a pageant answer. We are being scored by the M1s, though. Yeah, we're going to get scored by the M1s. We're going to ask the M1s who is. Yeah, who's the pageant winner. Now, don't forget that. And I don't want us to do a voice like you can if you want, but it'd be better. It'd be annoying. It could be annoying if we do voice. Try to do, you know, your own your thing. But just try. We can't be annoying. You know what I mean? I'm going to be annoying no matter what. Are you? Yeah. She will, Lou. All right, Jay. Here we go. Are you ready? Okay. Now, who's going to start? Why don't we have? I've got it. I've got it. Here we go. Okay. Yeah. Here we go. Miss LaHoya. Why am I surprised? That's right. Miss LaHoya. What up? What would you like to see done to improve the public's understanding of the importance of organ donation and why? Well, Jay. And United States. Organ donation is so important because don't you think that if you're in an accident and you had your organs available to help someone else's life, wouldn't you want to save their life if you had the choice? Of course you would. I think everyone should be willing to save everyone else's life. Wow.
Very good. Thank you, thank you. I hate it. Thank you so much. I hate it. I hate it. Okay, we're going to go to Miss Mexico. Who knows who that is? If you showed me around your state, where would you take me and why? I would definitely take you to San Diego, the most beautiful city in my state of California. And after San Diego, because in San Diego, you get a little bit of everything. You get the surf, you get the turf, and you get... the beautiful mountain areas surrounding us in Julian. And then I would take you to the Golden Gate Bridge where you could see all the landmarks that you've seen in movies. And then finally, I would take you to the lovely city of Los Angeles where you could see movie stars. California has a little bit of everything to offer. A little long, Miss Mexico. Yeah, seems like we were going to Mexico and you could have showed me around Mexico.
But since that's not a state, Mr. Judge. No, okay. Good call. It's a country. Good job, Miss Mexico. I talked about my state. I said New Mexico. Okay, Miss Jersey. Tell me about the cultural activities in your state. Well, it's interesting that you say that, Mr. J, because there's actually a plethora of people here in San Diego. There's a strong Hispanic influence because we are close to the border. So you have things like Old Town that will tell you about the culture, the Spanish influence that San Diego actually was founded by Spanish people. She just pushed the woods away because he was creeping up behind her. And so it gives you a little taste of what San Diego might have been like back when it was founded. And it also brings the influence of Mexico. Woods looks bored. That was wonderful. That was absolutely wonderful. You can't stand there and do that. Okay, Miss Gitt. I thought I was going to learn about New Jersey. Come on, Miss Gitt. I did too. I was waiting for Jersey. I was like, what's happening? Yeah, Lauren's right up in space. Miss Gitt. Hold on, let me restart my pageant music. Okay, here we go. This is weird.
Do you think the government should try to legislate morality to create a better environment for children to grow up in? That's a great question. And I think the answer is a very resounding yes, they should. Really, really eloquent. Just so you know, I was about an inch from his face the entire time. She was creeping him out just as bad. 570-1949. Hey, I got to give it to these bras. They did great. That is not easy. Yeah, they did a lot better than us. I love it. 570-1949 or 949mikey at gmail.com. You can text us. Give us a call and tell us which one of us gals gave the best pageant answer. And in Mexico, Spain. It's not easy. Oh, that is not easy. It's not easy. I actually kind of had fun. I knew some girls that did pageants weird. Weird. You did their costume design.
What? You did their costumes. Yeah, I sewed the sequins on. I was a seamstress. And those questions, that's all they do. Oh, I know. Is with their moms all day long is go over possible questions that they would be asked. Wow. Maybe we should have practiced. Wow. I did. You did? That was great. Last night. Thank you. I think you did really good. Which one of us won? 570-1949. Or you could text us 949mikey at gmail.com. What? I think you won. Actually, I think Woods nailed it. I think Woods is going to be the winner because he gave the worst answer. Yeah. What do you think the first person on the line is calling to say? Woods is my boy. I'm going to go with my boy Woods. Brian? Yeah. Look at the smirk on Woods' face right now. Brian, who do you think won? Really? Really? I wasn't paying attention because I... I was listening to the radio. It says Miss Git. That a boy. Hey, how about you Git, Brian? That's one for me. Just kidding. Just kidding. It's the hardest thing in the world doing those things, man. That is not easy. To try it with listeners. We should have listeners call in and we just randomly ask them questions. Oh, my gosh. No pressure. No one's going to want to do that. Who's got the stones to do it? Nobody. It's hard. 570-1949. Let's see.
In just a little bit, I think we might be talking to EBW, Eskimo Blue Waters, because I saw her outside in the hallway. Lurking around. Drinking coffee. Weird. Blasting cigs. She got on the layered necklaces and the cowboy hat. Rings. Skull and crossbone ring. Dark glasses. Skull and crossbone ring. Those are great. Dog tags. Where do you get those? Thrift stores. Is that where? Let's see. Steel tip cowboy boots. Boot World. You guys hear about that high-speed chase? Came all the way to San Diego. Oh, I missed it. Yeah. I think it was a guy that used to do driving professionally, right? Uh-huh. Nice. Does it say what time that was, Sienna? It was on Monday. Oh.
And it was a high-speed chase from Orange County, which ended up in University City. The speeds went all the way to 130 miles per hour on the freeway. This man's name is James Neal. He's 56 years old. He's from San Clemente. And he was driving a 2003 Corvette. And the reason he pulled over off the 805 at La Jolla Village Drive was because his Corvette blew up. Oh, my gosh. Not like, I don't think he... Mom, there's a Corvette in my way. His engine blew up. Yeah. Wow. Yeah, so not like it wasn't like an explosion or anything like that. But Border Patrol, he went past the checkpoint, everything. And this guy, just so you know, James Neal, he actually won three NASCAR races in the early 80s. Oh, wow. Yeah. You can drive. Let me tell you something, though. I've said this before. 3.30 a.m. on Monday, Lauren. Oh, boy. I'll tell you this. No. High-speed chase ever ends good. No. Ever. Don't get away, bro. They're so fun to watch, though. You're not going to get away. Big player out here. Yeah, it is. Big player. People always think they're going to make it. You're not getting away. Well, he was taken into custody and booked at the Orange County Jail on felony charges. And he's being held on $25,000 bail. His car was towed. Goodbye. Ridiculous. Yeah. Come on in, Eskimo. Oh, wow. Here she comes.
Eskimo Blue Waters. Eskimo, I have to ask you about those jeans. Did you buy those pre-ripped or did you rip them yourself? It's from a lot of utility work. There are more holes in those jeans. They get worn out. There's holes all up and down the legs of the jeans. You can see a little cheek in the back. Yeah, well, you know, it's kind of stylish. You're a hard worker. I am a hard worker. Eskimo Blue Waters. I like them. Eskimo Blue Water is a local musician. She comes in and she'll plug her gigs. True. When you let me. The gigs are not big venues. Aren't they? Well, I mean, you know, not to be confrontational. What about the House of Blues? You didn't play. That's a little misleading. You played on the sidewalk. Outside of a big venue. Yeah, I was thinking maybe you'd be in the venue. Did you get paid? No, and I actually got escorted off the premise. But I lay down a few tracks. You did lay down a few tracks? You were live recording that night? Yeah. Double live album. Did you say to the audience, hey, you guys, you're being recorded live tonight. How about that? Just wanted you all to know, we're doing a live album. I didn't even have to tell them. Everybody make some noise. There was no one there. How much did you make that night? I think I actually was in a hole a little bit. Where are you?
I had to pay to park, but, yeah. Hey, it's expensive to park downtown. But, you know, it's humble beginnings, you know? Yeah, humble beginnings. Hey, you got to bleed a little. You know what I mean? Exactly, exactly. The problem is Eskimos come in before, and the first song she ever played for us was a blatant Jewel ripoff. And she says, no, it wasn't. She says, no, it wasn't. You know the song from Jewel, You Were Meant For Me? Well, she sang a song called I Was Meant For You. Yeah. And you said you don't even know who Jewel is. I don't really listen to the radio. Right, because you said you live out of your Mustang. Yeah. It has the radio, though, doesn't it? Yeah, but I don't listen to it. How did you know about our show? Steve Maltz. Steve Maltz, your boyfriend? Yeah. Even though Jewel was dating a guy named Steve Poults? Steve Poults. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Local musician. Badass. Yeah, he's awesome. It's a common last name. Common.
Molts. Not very common at all, actually. Did you bring any new work with you? What do you got going on? Yeah, well, I've got some pretty cool news, guys. Really? I got a call from Garrett. Yeah? And he says he wants to play my new record. Nice. Good for you. Not Garrett, the program director here. But his name is Garrett Vasquez, and he's my salsa instructor. He's pretty cool. He's your salsa instructor. Yeah, so. Okay. He wants it played. He wants to play your new record. Amazing. Not Garrett, our program director. Water? Yeah, yeah, Jay. Why don't you just remember to bring water in? Every time she wants water. I'm the talent. It's a crazy idea. I'm the talent. Yeah, she's the talent. Maybe next time you bring a water, though, it's not a bad idea. Well, I drank it in the hallway, you guys. I've been here since, like, five. We didn't get in, so.
She does that thing, you know, where she just stands out in the hallway and people walk by her and everything. And she looks at him like, yeah, it's me. It's me. Yeah. I was walking in this morning, blasting cigs. She was sitting downstairs. Yeah, waiting. And I think I saw you guys do the chest bump. Like, hey. What's up? I get noticed on the street sometimes. You do? Yeah, you get used to it. You get used to it. You'll get there, Mike. How's the ratings doing? The ratings are great, actually. We're doing really well. Number one. Yeah, well, you'll get there. Okay, yeah, there's one, so I don't know where you get from there. Yeah, so, you know, the GarageBand thing on my Mac, it's working out pretty good. She runs GarageBand off the Mac to make her music. Yeah, it's good. You know, I've written a couple songs on my brother's iPad, too, so it's pretty solid. That's always good to write on the iPad, to use that as kind of a tool. We're coming along, because pretty soon we're going to learn how to convert the files to MP3s. I'm going to get you guys all a couple. We all want a disc. I know I do. I'd love it. As soon as you learn how to convert that, I think it'll probably rock. Yeah. Probably be good. I think I've kind of got it figured out. Yeah. Well, that's good. Tweak a few things. That's good, Eskimo. Yeah. Blue Waters. I've also been working with a drummer from the band that sings that song, Stacy's Mom Has Got It Going On. Fountains of Wayne. Yeah. Yeah, I know.
She didn't know the name of the band. She just knew they sang Stacy's Mom Has Got It Going On. Well, he's pretty much a genius when it comes to laying it down. For sure. That's true. For sure. I guess I got pretty lucky. Yeah, you did. It sounds like you did. Sometimes it's about who you know. Yeah, it is. It is. What are you going to do? See, she comes in. She plays her music. Sometimes plays acoustic. Sometimes plays. She's been really heavy into, like, hip-hoppy, like, electronica stuff. Yeah, I'm kind of bored with the old ex, so. Like I said, laying down tracks. Loops. That kind of thing. Picture her dating. Who? Brent Michaels. Really? Yeah. No way, dude. He's like 100. How old are you, Eskimo? Do you even say? Come on, mate. That's poor form. Yeah, that's poor form. Poor form. Probably you're not supposed to ask a woman how old she is. No, you're not, actually. And you're timeless, really. You could be 21. You know what? You could be 41. Couldn't I? Yeah. You really can't even tell. Couldn't be 41. Yeah, I like your bracelets, by the way. Oh, thank you. You're wearing so many of them. Well, you've got to layer them up. Yeah, you do. Like the necklaces. Looks like Slash. Yeah, it's pretty cool, though. Woods. Gosh. Can't even get it. Every time I come in here, it's like a rose. I know it. Brutal, isn't it? Tell me about it.
Tell me about it. Do you carry a purse? What does a girl like Eskimo do? Do you carry a purse? I don't even know. Satchel? No, I keep my hands in my pockets at all times like this and let them hang out. What about your stuff? Keep the thumbs out. You keep your stuff. It's in my guitar case. She doesn't play guitar anymore. But I carry it with me. She carries the case. You never know. Some people just, you know, randomly will ask me to break out into songs. Right. So you use your guitar case like a purse. Could I get some of this water? Yeah, yeah, sure. Yeah, Jay, why don't we get her a water? I'm right on that. Yep. What are you going to do? Well, my latest song here. Yeah? It's called Yellow Slicker. Yellow Slicker. Yeah, I know. It sounds weird. Yeah, it does. But it's been raining a lot in San Diego. Yeah. Tell me about it. You know, the other day I was trying to stay dry and I was thinking about my ex. Steve Maltz. And I got this catchy little tune in my head, you know? I never thought I'd write about an apparatus that keeps you from getting wet in the rain. I feel like it's going to work. Okay. Yeah. Let's give it a shot. I mean, call me crazy. Crazy. Some people have. Crazy. You're very crazy. I wasn't being a girl. All right. No. Well, we took it that way. All right.
All right. So I want to make sure this is like real hooked up. Good to go. Yeah. Do you got it all hooked up there? Yeah. You're going to play us your new song. Anything less than professional, Mike. You got it. Eskimo Blue Waters has a new song. It's called Yellow Slicker. Like a rain slicker. Right. Get it? Yep. Got it. Okay. Let's rock it. Here we go. What the hell are you doing? Why did you stop it? Because you're singing the Rihanna song. What? Umbrella. Yeah. No, it's Yellow Slicker. No, it isn't Yellow Slicker. That's Umbrella. It's because Sienna, you worked at Channel 933. Oh, I know. You played that song.
That's umbrella. Her last verse where she said, it's cause. Rihanna says because. Listen. I mean, like. Can I just say this? For crying out loud. She said, oh, yeah, I worked this up on, I worked this up on a couple loops. Oh, man. On GarageBand. First thing I hear, Rihanna, where you at? Yeah. That was Jay messing around with things. Really? Was it? I guess. Was Jay? I don't know. I don't think that was Jay. I didn't have that in there. Me or more. Just let her finish. All right. Let her finish. All right. Gosh. Here's another part. Play it. Okay, ready? Yep. Here we go. Okay. Play it. That's pouring dogs and cats. Now that we've got our... You can borrow my yellow slicker. You can borrow my yellow slicker. Ick-a. Ick-a. Ick-a. Ick-a. Borrow my yellow slicker. Ick-a. Ick-a. Ick-a. Stop it. Stop it. Stop it. This is painful. That's so stupid. What? That's not your song. It's Umbrella. You replaced the word Ella. Ella. The slicker. Icker. Icker. Icker. Yeah. Like, I'm taking the second part of the word. The word. And this repeating. We got that. We got that. That's exactly what Rihanna did. So you did this on GarageBand, right? You were just working around and you just were playing with it until you got this. Sounds just like Umbrella by Rihanna. That was amazing.
Well, listen, Eskimo. I said it's pouring dogs and cats. I'm so hilarious. Are you done with it? Yeah, I'm done. Unless you got more. You got another one you want to do? No, I mean, it's the same thing. Hey, you know what? What if somebody from Atlantic is listening right now? And they go, you know what? It sounds a little bit similar, but isn't every song really just a retweaking of another song? You mean the Atlantic? Greek restaurant? Yeah, I meant Atlantic Greek restaurant in El Cajon. I meant they could be listening and they go, hey, maybe we play that. Yeah, because I mean, really, aren't we all just reinventing the wheel? I mean, don't you think anyone else has told a tattoo joke? Sure, right? And I tell a tattoo joke, so it's kind of reworking that, right? So it's like, if you hear a familiar beat, maybe it's just, like, it's reworking something that's... That's like way in the past. Sometimes you hear something in your head, it's just stuck in there. Yeah. Maybe it sounds similar. Right. You know? Yeah. What are you going to do? Are you going to do more or are you done? No, I think I'm done. Yeah, I think you are too. I'm kind of getting tired of this bitch. No, you know what? I think you're taking it a little too seriously. But, you know, I want you guys to respect me. I do. I do respect you. And more than you, I respect the music. Respect. Rihanna. R-A-S-P-E-C-T. Find out what it means to me. I just did.
I wrote that. Woods. No, you didn't. You didn't write that? Yeah, this morning. I don't think... R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Find out what it means to me. That's Aretha Franklin. That's Aretha Franklin. That's not Kenetha Manglin or whatever you say. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. No. Well, thank you. Listen, thank you for coming in. It's always a joy to see you. Do you want one of my bumper stickers or not? Great job. You printed those on a black and white printer. Well, I was working on these on paintbrush. We'll have to actually use scotch tape to tape them to our bumpers. Okay, well, check it out, guys. Let me see. It says Eskimo, and then in small letters it says S, do it in the, and then blue waters. So, like, it says all together. It's like a take on her name. Eskimos do it in blue waters. But just Eskimo blue waters. You know, the problem with that bumper sticker, though, is that you wrote it by hand so that if you put that on a car, a person would have to be. Just sketch, Mike. I know it's a sketch, but the person would have to be right with their face up against the bumper. Right next to it. That's a point. Okay. All right. Well, you know what? Perfect. Mission accomplished, though. Definitely. We got one more. The reason I'm here is to plug my gig. Can I do it or not? Sure. Yeah. Go ahead. Where are you playing? I'm playing with Mob Barley and the Taylors on Sunday at Kit Carson Park. Mob Barley and the Taylors. Yeah. Where are they playing at? They're a reggae band. Yeah? There's four of them. They're all seven years old.
Where are they playing? It's Carson Park. As long as Brandon gets over the chicken packs by the weekend, we should be ready to ride. Mom Barley. Mom Barley and the Taylors. Seven-year-old reggae band. I'm telling you, they're hot. How old's that Bieber girl? That's a guy. That's a guy, actually. I don't listen to their 80s. Of course you don't. That's how you know him. He's 16. Thank you, Eskimo. You're a delight. You're a delight. Thank you. You really are. Didn't I already play that? Yes. Didn't I already play that one? How about try this one out? Tell me what you think about this one. Oh, that was great. Now, you have to open your mind on this one because it's a little weird. No. Okay, you ready? Yeah. You have to. Want me to operate it? No, I don't, Eskimo. I want you far away from it. You're making me nervous. Take your... She's got a portable ashtray. Put that back in your... Put it back. Aren't they all portable, mate? It's collapsible, though. But it's collapsible. She makes a good point. She does. Aren't they all portable? Unlike the kind that are drilled into your... Into the table. Yeah, into the table. All right, try that out for a second. Swingers. That a boy! Okay. That's what I'm talking about. New releases.
About this guy. About this guy that's having a backpedal because he's a politician and said he was in Vietnam. And oops, he wasn't. Oh, boy. Oops, he wasn't. Don't think somebody's going to find out. It's a multi-vehicle accident. Four cars. Also, the 94 westbound at the 5. A couple cars in the center divider. They did call an ambulance calling that off now, but they do have tow trucks on their way. And it looks like El Cajon at the 8 west.

I'm Stacey Cohen, FM 94.9. Now, more of the Mikey Show on FM 94.9. Or is it the CD player? No, because it worked every other day, but today. That's never happened. Better work for the kid tomorrow. Oh, it's that track. Yeah, it's here. I heard that this morning, though, with Jesse. I thought Jesse was having the same problem. Were you burning these off of old cassettes? No, I wasn't. You sure? I'm not sure, but... Yeah, it's the song that's messed up. That's a good one.
Is that Piano Man? No. How could you guess that? I heard some harmonica on piano. He's a kid's pretty good at name that tune. I would love to do a legitimate name that tune. Yeah, let's do that. Yeah, it'd be great. Oh, yeah. Then we can change the rules. I mean, since I won last time? Did you? 570-1949. You can expect a new urban survivor with Mikey Grylls later this week. Your phone calls. That's red. It's probably too hard for you, right? Lauren, you don't like the harder stuff. Bugs you. I can appreciate it as a musical piece, but I wouldn't be listening to it. It's too much, right? In my earbuds. Welcome back. Jay's been working overtime and been getting us some pretty good guests. I'm pretty thrilled to be doing this. I actually wanted to do this interview pretty much my entire career. Really? Who are we interviewing?
On the phone right now, I have Lifter, Winona Ryder's cat. Lifter? Nice to have you on the show. You little sweetheart. Hi, Lifter. Lifter, first of all, I'm nervous. I don't usually get like this. It's a pretty big deal. It's been in Winona Ryder's house. Really? That is so nice. Tell me about yourself. Really? When? Freaking crazy. Oh, wow. Don't get like that, Lifter, because I think you're taking what I said the wrong way. No. No. How has your education prepared you for your career, Lifter? No, I'm not going to let you out of it, because I know the deal. You haven't gone. You're going to be like that? You're going to be like Scott Wyland? Okay. Then I won't go there. One last question.
Your greatest weakness. Went there too. I had that issue. Went to Betty Ford. 28 days. Thank you. Wow. Lifter, you're a doll. You are so sweet. My God. Creeper. You can't say that. You can't say that on the radio. I'm going to have to hit the button. All right, Lifter, thanks. Really, Jay? You going to book that interview? Wow. That cat breathes as heavy as Woods does. It really does. That's good. Okay. Dude, you missed Lifter. Oh, yeah? Did I? Yeah. Didn't you? Did I? Were you going to the bathroom? Yeah, I had to go pee-pee. Aw. Thanks, sir. You're welcome. You missed Lifter, Winona Ryder's cat. Great job, Jay. Lifter talked about all kinds of stuff that...
She saw when she lived in Winona Ryder's house, but then said something dirty. Did she? Yeah. She's kind of like the kid. Almost had a bleeper. Oh, and here I thought Lifter was a man. I did too. I mean, a male, not a female. See, I'm not sure. I don't even know. That was probably what got Lifter so mad. Yeah. Did you guys notice that Lifter seemed mad at first? Very irritable. Yeah. Weird. Tell me what you think about this. I'm going to get your thoughts. Tell me what you think of this performance. Sold. Really? Sold. Wait to hear his other one. Do you have the other one, too? One of my favorite songs ever. This guy may take it. Dude, that's good. Head is. In what? Woods. Why? That's The Simple Man by Skinner, dude. I know that. I liked it when Leonard Skinner did it.
I liked it when the Deftones did it. This guy, listen, it just picks up right here and you're just like, wow. Pretty gosh darn good. This is the song that he picked last night on American Idol. They're in the top three right now. That's Lee. He's quite good looking, I must say. Couldn't tell you anything about him. He's really cute. I just said that. And Simon Cowell picked the second song that he sang because each contestant sang two songs. Is this the same guy we thought sounded like John Mayer last time? No, you want to hear that guy? Yeah. Very wisely, the guy picks a John Mayer song. Yeah, that was the guy that we played the clip. That's what I thought, because I'm like, he sounds like John Mayer doing Leonard Skinner. When he did that duet. No, this is a different guy. This is Casey, his long blonde hair. Wow, why doesn't he do it exactly like John Mayer does it? Because John Mayer sounds really good. This is the song that Kara and Randy picked for him to sing.
I'm like every guy. I sing along with that song and feel weird because I'm singing about mothers and daughters. He should have done it like the inflection and all the breaths and everything the exact same as John Mayer. A lot of times. I think he did. I know. I'm being sarcastic. You're being facetious. Stop being facetious. Okay. It was a creative decision. Do you have Lee singing Simon Cowell's song, the second song he sang? I don't know. Did he do Paralyzed Face when he did it? When he sang it? Because John Mayer does that. No, no, no, no. This is a different guy. Lee DeWise sang, I forget the name of the song, but every judge was blown away. Like, you just won it, dude. This is it. You just had your moment. This is unbelievable. You're going to win, basically. What song? I don't remember. It's a very well-known song. It was the second one. He sang those last one of the night, and Simon Cowell picked it.
And then you get to do the American Idol tour. No, this guy's really good. Listen, a lot of people really like American Idol. That's why, you know, whatever. I just heard that this morning. I thought it was interesting. I thought it sounded good, so I wanted to play it for you. Hallelujah. Yeah. The Hallelujah song. That's it. Is that a new bit? No, we already listened to this. Somebody did it earlier in the season. No, they did it last season. Is this a new bit? That's the new, like... Simon said, look. Simon says, don't do Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley. He said, I know this has already been done, but I think that this is going to make you really have your moment and stand out. And every judge was standing up. Amazing. I thought I would stay unoriginal. Because that's what the gist of this show is, to be as unoriginal as possible. Yeah, we listened to this. Never listened to this. It just happened last night. It just happened last night. Yeah, you heard it last year when they did it. We talked about somebody else covering this song, and I said I liked it better when Jeff Buckley did it. Yeah, so did I. Remember about two minutes ago we said that? No, this is like a couple weeks ago.
Really? This is like the most covered song. Yeah, and it's unfortunate because it's beautiful. Well, he did. Listen to him. He did a really good job. Never heard it. We listened to it a couple weeks ago. I've never heard the song Hallelujah. Yes. We listened to it a couple weeks ago on the air. I promise you we did not. I've watched the show. This is the first time they've seen it. It might not have been someone from American Idol. We listened to the guy who last year did it for sure about two weeks ago or something for sure. Well, anyway, that song, that show's about to wrap up. Yeah. Top three. Five foods that will boost your mood. Oh, yes. Cold cereal. Of course. Maybe I should eat all five right now. Yeah. Maybe I should double up and have ten of them. What? If you have a handful of multi-green Cheerios or, like, you know, the healthy cereals, they offer folic acid, which help the mood. Like, is this a sexual mood? No. No. Just your mood. Yeah, just the way you're feeling. Put you in a good mood. Cheesecake. Cheesecake. Another one is fish. Maybe we order out. Cheesecake. Yeah. That does it. Mm-hmm. Fish. Give me another one. Egg yolks. I don't get it. Egg yolks contain choline, and it's a mood enhancer. Sure, it does. It does. What else? Chocolate. Mm-hmm. It's like half of the people that are depressed, studies say that...
The majority of them say that they crave chocolate, and they say that they're very soothed after they have it. Yeah. And dark chocolate's actually really good for you if you have about a couple ounces a week. You're either a chocolate person or you're not. I could care less. I like it. I love it. It does something for you? Mm-hmm. See, that's the thing. There are people that chocolate will do something for them. It doesn't do anything for me. And fruits and veggies. Mm-hmm. It soothes my worried heart. It does? Mm-hmm. It's a woman thing, too, for sure. Women. There are women that chocolate does something that's, like, euphoric. It does. It's like taking a drug. When Mikey pierces my heart with his dagger eyes and I yawn, I have to go get a chocolate bar. I'm looking for chocolate right now. Out of the snack machine. Mm-hmm. When Woodsy yawns after I've asked him not to yawn 147 times, pierces daggers in my heart, and I wish I had a big bar of chocolate that I could dive into. I wish I could ski off Mount Chocolate. It is really good. I wish Count Chocula would run in here and just hug me. Make it rain. I wish Count Chocula would come in here and just go, mm-hmm. Make it rain. I wish that, too. Dagger piercing eyes. This is Woodsy. This is how he hides his yawn. Maybe when I do radio for 25 years, I'll be used to it.
Our general manager just walked by with judging eyes. Oh, did he? No, he had his glasses on. He looked very professional today. Hi, Rick. Big giant smile on his face. I had a long conversation with him yesterday. Am I out? Should I bring my playbook? No, I told him. I said, listen, I found this Amway thing, and it's working. He said, I can't let you out of the contract. He said, you guys are number one. I said, listen, I think that's great, and I think that that's really sweet that you're saying that, but can I just put a... tiny bit of foundation on you right now. And I am going to change your world. You look good just now. Looks great. Looks just like Robert Duvall. He said, doesn't matter. You're here for three years. It's funny. You drove in in a pink Cadillac. I did. I drove in a pink Cadillac. I said, I'm doing a combination of Mary Kay and Amway. He said, get back to work. I said, that's great. This is work. I'm going to get back to work right now. But do me a favor. Hold your wrist out. I said, give it five minutes to breathe. Let it breathe five minutes. I'm going to need you to tell five of your friends. I need you to tell five of your friends. Now, if you can convince five of your friends to wear that utterly sexy, holy cow, I'm not gay. I think I'm going to kiss you. Utterly sexy cologne I just sprayed on your wrist. Oh my gosh, you're irresistible. If you can get five of your friends to wear that cologne, we're in business, buddy. Kick me out of his audit. Right out of there. I wonder why.
I said, fine, you can get me out of here. If you put this lipstick on right now, I have a feeling your entire day will change. For sure. And he started to say something. I put my index finger on his lips and went, shh. Don't. Go to the top. Wow. I got the worst visual in my head just now. You did? Did that skeeve you out a little bit? Speaking of things that skeeve you out, what about when someone else's hair? Is on your deodorant. Because you have roommates. How do you know? Because you know it ain't. This is not you. You know. Don't all guys' arm hair look the same? Yeah, but what if you don't leave? Yeah, wouldn't you take it off there? Yeah. If it were you? Mm-hmm. Yeah. Anything skeeve you out more than girls with long toenails? Uh-huh. Yeah. The girls that wear the sandals. Even guys sometimes, too. And their toes hang over the end of it. Oh, yeah.
You know, and their toes go over the end. I'm like, help me get shoes that fit. I used to work with this broad that would wear pantyhose and sandals. It made me sick. I've been alive 39 years, Woodsy. I've never seen that. I have never seen a woman wearing pantyhose and flip-flops. You probably just had it. No, they're like the Velcro. No. I've never seen that. They're like flip-on sandals. Slip-on sandals. Or heels that are open toe. Yeah, yeah. And the webbing. More like heels. It's repugnant. Woodsy, do you think that it's sexy when girls wear those sandals that are kind of the foam, like high heel foam? Yes. I do too. What? Maybe like 10 years ago. You guys don't know what you're talking about. 10 years ago. Girls don't like them. They're so... Girls are judgmental. Seven years ago. See? Sorry they're not corn husks. I had them when I was a freshman in high school and I loved them. Never would I wear them. I threw them all away. Garbage. I wouldn't even give them to anyone. They're not even worth donating. Sexy. You mean it's like an actual, like a rubber flip-flop. You know what I'm talking about. That's what you're talking about. Like a rubber. Rocket dogs. And just raised. Yep. Sexy. Like a flip-flop on steroids. You got it. That's what you're talking about? Yep. You know, like a big, fat, thick flip-flop. See, guys don't know that they're out. You just like the way. You ladies know it. The way they accentuate things or what? I think girls look sexy in them. It looks sexy. What?
I like it. It's like she's casual, but she's sexy. Foxy. She's foxy because she's wearing high heels. She's going to be on an episode of Cops. Yeah. Really? Yeah. Ew, ew, ew, guys. I'm on Michael from La Jolla. Hey, Mikey. What skews you out? Well, when I was in undergrad, we did this experiment where we had to spit in a cup and then drink our own spit. Why? Because the professor was pointing out that... You know, you swallow your own spit all day long with no problem, but something happens as soon as you're spitting to a cup and then you try to drink it like the evening or something like that changes for you. That's true. There's something interesting about that. It's the air. I could do it. You could, Woods? Really? You could, like, feel the bubbles. Oh, yeah. I could do it. M1, Robin from Mira Mesa. Hey, what's up, guys? What's going on? What is up with girls wearing the Spartan sandals? Like, they're going to war. Oh, yeah. They're gladiator sandals. Yeah, they're in style, right? Will you Google that up for me? Google image that for me? I want to know what Spartan, the Spartan sandals are in girls. You've seen them a lot. There's lots of different kinds. They're thick, and they usually wrap around your ankle. Oh, it's so awful. No, they're cute. Oh, I do know. Hang on, Mike. Yeah, you.
Out on them. I don't have them, but my sisters in high school, they have them. They're real in for the younger girls. Mom, I want Roman sandals. It's a high school thing? I think it's the younger girls. No, there's worse than that. Those are awful. Oh, those are terrible. They do look like Spartans. Yeah. That is awful. The gladiators. I had no idea that that was a... Spartans! Lay down your weapon. Do they well? No, I'm not. I'm going to the mall. I'm not a Persian. I'm from Del Mar. They wear them with, like, little shorts. Looks cute on young girls. M1 Cobber from San Diego. Hey, how's it going, Mikey? What up? I had lox and bagels this morning, and the lox were about a day too old. I had to just scarf it down. Terrible. Let me tell you, dude, you couldn't pay me to eat that kind of food. Was it all warm and floppy? Cat food.
It's more of like kind of a lunch thing, but this morning I woke up. It was like 5 a.m. I was feeling good. I was like, I'm going to get it. Yeah, and it just wasn't good. Never in my life would I order that. No. Or even want to. Thank you for the call. My trainer, yesterday my trainer says, why don't you eat some fish tonight? I said, what don't you get? She goes, what about some salmon? I go, why don't I open up Nine Lives? Yeah. What about tuna? You like tuna, huh? Yeah, yeah. How about I have a steak? Rebecca sure doesn't. How about a Big Mac? Pizza. What else keeps you out? Grease. Oh, this is the worst. Grease on cell phones. When you pick a cell phone. Oh, yeah. Someone had just been on it. Yeah. Especially if you have the iPhone because it's all like glass. Yeah. And you can see the imprint of their face. Looks like somebody rubbed Vaseline all over the top. Did we do this one where you go to get butter to put on your toast and there's crumbs in the back? Butter in the jelly or jelly in the peanut butter? Yeah. Ski. How about you go to get some mayonnaise? And there's, like, avocado because somebody was making it. Oh, yeah. That's really gross. Oh, yeah. I hate that. That gets me. That gets me, too. Crumbs in the butter slays me. It's pretty bad. Did we talk about the frozen milk particles? If the refrigerator's up too high? Yes. Frozen. Yeah, because then I said I had a piece of frozen cheesecake. It almost made me vomit. I ate it anyway. 5-7-0.
Yeah, weird. $194.9. Why don't you have Jamie make some of those Hello Dollies, please? Why won't you share them? Jamie, please do it because he's a jerk. It's so delicious. The way he describes it sounds so good. He wants them all to himself. Tell us what it is again. Okay. A layer of graham cracker, graham crackers, like crust. You smash that up with butter. Okay, you put it in a pan. Then you layer chocolate chips on top. Then you do a layer of pecans on top of that. Then you do a layer of coconut. And then you pour condensed milk over it. You put it in the oven for 15 minutes at 350. It makes you weak in the knees. The first time you have one, I got one fresh out of the oven. I've never had one fresh out of the oven because my mom used to send them to me in college. And so Jamie made them fresh out of the oven when they were all moist and chewy. I went over to his house. I almost fell down. Went over to his house. He took the tinfoil off the top of it and he took a knife and he just jammed the knife into it and wedged the knife back and forth until a big hunk broke off. And I watched him with dreamy eyes. He didn't offer you anything. Not one time. I swear I didn't. I didn't. I wasn't like, hey, you are. I can't believe that. No, listen. Imagine if you did that. I'm used to it because of my wife. What? Oh, my wife, when we go out to dinner and she gets certain desserts. Sorry. Sorry, Charlie. Yeah.
Oh, my God. I offer the first bite to whoever is with me. Can you give me an example of something else that contains condensed milk? Because I don't know. I'm having a bad time with that. Other than that, I can't. What does it do to it? Does it just coat it? It coats the top, and it's sweet. Condensed milk is really sweet, like Eagle brand milk. Lots of pies have it. Lots of pies have it. Yeah, it's got a picture of a little cow on it. But can you tell that it's, like, is it a distinct, like, oh, that's condensed milk on top? No, you can't. When you look at it, you're not like, oh. It's just part of the ingredients. Yeah, it just goes with it. And, oh, my God. A binding agent. M1 Haley from North County. Is this Haley? Hi, Haley. Hallie. Is it? Oh, Hallie. I'm sorry. How'd you know? Hallie. She just said it. What do girls, what drives you nuts with girls? Okay, so it's really popular right now. It's really fashionable. The black leggings that are skin tight. Yeah, you mean like the ones that Sienna's wearing right now? Huge fan. Well, okay, she could look pretty good in them. But I'm talking about all shapes and sizes.
I don't want to see everything. Oh, no, but what I do, I see what she means. They wear them as pants. Yeah. And, like, because I, whenever I wear leggings, I make sure I have a long shirt that covers my butt, you know? And they're good when you're pregnant. Oh, yeah. I know what you're talking about. Let it all hang out. Yeah, I saw it at the grocery store two days ago. I was like, oh, well, we know each other in real life. Now we know each other. I could describe you to a police sketch artist, can't I? Disgusting. Yep. I know exactly what you're talking about. M1 Nikki, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. What's yours? I actually, like a couple months ago, bought a pair of those flip-flops that have the big foam on it. Yeah, sexy. Because I'm short and my jeans were dragging a little bit. But little did I know that people in my family, like my sister-in-law and even my husband, think that that's just a really white trash thing to do. Hey, you got two guys sitting right here that don't think so. All the way in on it. I know. Listen to your family. It's like girls think something different than guys do. Whatever. I like it. Speaking of that, what about when your jeans drag in, like, the water on the street or something like that? So the bottom of your pants that have, like, that layer of street filth on that? Yeah, it's brown. Dark brown. Disgusting. Yeah, it looks like you've been surfing in a pond. Who lies more, men or women? Really? I told you. Really? I told you. You've got to be. Maybe you take a...

Mike, it's too hard. That's never what she said. Detroit. Okay, Lauren. I was going to go write a message on Garrett's Facebook last night. Garrett's our program director. What was I going to say? I was just going to visit with him, break his balls a little bit, and then he had a happy birthday message. His birthday was a couple weeks ago from Barsky. No way. Barsky in the morning. We have recurring themes that we do with our program director. We do Detroit, Philly, Seattle, Barsky.
Scott Shannon. Scott Shannon. Barsky's always my go-to because I actually heard Barsky in the morning growing up. He's a DJ back in Philly. And so we will use the same five references with our program director, Garrett. We'll say Barsky. We'll say Detroit, Seattle, Philly. And we'll say Scott Shannon. And he thinks all five of them are the most hilarious things he's ever heard. Right now, he's in his car, probably, shaking his head. You guys, stop. You don't know what you're talking about. I don't talk about it that much. Maybe Detroit. But other than that. He totally did that. If by that you mean gave his speakers the finger. We said to him the other day. He actually just texted me. What did he say? Detroit. No, he didn't. That's it. We asked him. We said, hey, for reference. When we talk about you, can we get a recording of you? He goes, what do you mean? I go, can we get a recording of you? A little sound clip. Like a little sound clip of you on the air, just something real short that will kind of give people an idea of who we're talking about for reference. He goes, absolutely not. Okay. But I don't sound like that. I don't sound like that. You sound exactly like that, Garrett. Garrett Cullen. Garrett Cullen. Please, Garrett. Call Garrett. Please.
Detroit. Seattle. Philly. Barsky. Scott Shannon. Have I mentioned Detroit? His kid comes in. Hey, Dad, will you coach my little league team Detroit? I'll tell you this. Detroit means yes. Can I just say this? Garrett is fearless with these words, by the way, because... As much grief as we've given him, it does not impede him from using those references each time we talk. Like, we're talking serious conversation. We're having a serious conversation in his office last week. And in the middle of it, he goes, and he kind of pauses before he does it because he knows. But he goes, in all seriousness, Scott Shannon once told me. Well, it'd be like you being able to never talk about being at the other station that you were at. Yeah. Yeah. It's true. Yeah. It's true. We understand why he does it. I know. It's funny to make fun of him about it. It's like, it's his delivery is what slays me. That's what gets me. I never noticed it until you guys brought it up. He is not calling. He's not calling. Our phones are not lighting up. Jay, call him. He'll kill us. No, I don't care. Hey, guys, I'm going to need to see you at 1005 in my office. Go ahead and bring your laptops. And your key card. Bring your key card. Garrett, no. Woods, I'm going to slit your throat. Number one.
Why don't you guys bring the key to your office, too? Bring a cardboard box. Make it easier. Man, he's going to get us. Oh, Garrett. Detroit. I love you. Love you, G-Man. Hey, breaking news. And this got Jay going. It's a son's school. It's a son's school. What's going on right now? There is a bomb threat at San Diego Academy. This is in Encinitas. Deputies were called to the school this morning because apparently there was either an email or a text message sent into the school claiming some sort of a bomb threat. So right now, all of the students were moved to the football field, which is where they're being held right now as deputies and school officials search the campus. Now, another weird thing is this morning in the principal's office, when the principal arrived, I don't know if the principal is a man or a woman. Jay, you probably know. Man. Man. His office was filled with balloons. Ooh. Now, they don't know. It could be part of a senior prank. I don't know. Oh, it's a senior prank for sure. Yeah, but right now the school has been doing their STR, their star testing. And, you know, the seniors have different schedules right now. They're not scheduled to come in until 9.30 a.m., according to the school's website. Mm-hmm.
I don't know if it's some sort of senior prank because they knew that they weren't coming in until early, but something's going on and the school is shut down. Hey, maybe somebody didn't study for the test. Doesn't matter, you don't get a grade on it. Yeah, they're standardized tests, right? Maybe somebody else. What does that mean? It's like for the state and for an evaluation of how the school is doing amongst other schools in the state. You don't remember taking those? The Scantron where you bubble in the letters? But you don't get graded on it? It's an assessment for the school. The school gets the grade. The school wants you to do really good on it because they get the grade and they get resources from it. That's like a whole week of tests. Any kid's going to take that seriously? Well, you get a score, but it doesn't affect your grade. I did. Your parents would see how well you did. Do they? I called Finn. Right as soon as I heard, I called Finn. He's at home, of course, just, what, dad, what? He's a senior. He's like, who is this? And then he asked me, he goes, where are you? I was like, where do you think I am? I'm in Vegas. Yeah, I'm in Vegas. I'm at the tables. Okay, so who lies more, men or women? Really, see. Let's go around the room and you guys tell me who you think. What? Men. Men lie more? Yes. Not me. I say women. L-O-B? Do you have to ask me?
Really? Burn your bra. I say woods large more. Yeah, woods. Well, according to this study, which was just conducted on 3,000 people, this is in Britain. Big sampling there. Hugh Grant. Well, according to research, it shows that men lie on average three times a day. Oh, British men. Not us. Yeah, yeah, Brits. You guys are the same. And women lie on average two times a day. What if the women were lying on that test? Please, of course they were. 25% of men say they've lied to their mother, but only 20% of women admit to lying to their mom. 10% of people say that they're likely to lie to their partner. Would you like to know the top 10 men lies? Sure. The top 10 lies that men tell. Where we are, right? Who we're with. Who we're with, where we are. Why do you lie about that stuff? Because you guys are clowns. I don't, but I'm saying that's probably what people lie about. Stupid stuff to lie about. Where they are, where they're at. Where they've been. No, no. They're actually not that bad. Really? I didn't have that much to drink, number one. How many sexual partners they've had? Nothing's wrong. I'm fine. Yeah, women don't lie about that. Yeah, seriously. I had no signal, their cell phone. It wasn't that expensive. I had no signal. I'm on my way. Creeper. That's a big girl one, too. I'm on my way. Yeah. I'm stuck in traffic. No, your bum doesn't look big in that. Your bum. That's how they do it over there. Sorry, I missed your call.
You've lost weight. And the last one, it's just what I've always wanted. No reason to lie about any of those things. There's no reason to lie. Why? Okay, Woods, prove what? Okay. Walk through this with me. Why lie about any of them? Why? I'm on my way. It's like you just don't want them to be like, why didn't you leave early? It just avoids problems. Yeah, it's called the problem avoider. I'm perfect. Really? Now, does by I'm perfect mean that my way is too high of an expectation? Yes. Okay, okay, okay, okay. If that's true, then. You've lost weight as being nice to somebody. But don't even bring it up. Why? Yeah, if they haven't. Then they're not going to trust you. Yeah, why would you say it? Your bum doesn't look big in that, Mikey. You don't say that. I wouldn't say bum anyway. Right, but you don't need to say that. You don't need to say it looks big, but there's a way to say. Yeah, we talked about that. this already. If it's in those, like, blame it on the pants, not the bum. Thank you. Really? Yeah. Those pants aren't flattering on you. You have a very nice bottom, but it doesn't look like it in those stupid mom jeans. It's so dumb to me that people think they have to lie. You don't have to lie. Tell the truth. It's not going to get you in trouble unless you're doing something stupid. The truth will set you free.
Yes. You know who doesn't get busted for us? The guy that doesn't lie. Yeah, the guy that is there on time. Nah, we all lie sometimes. If you're not on time, that's okay. Just say why. What was the last lie you told? That you can remember. I can't say what it was. I know what it was. I remember what it was. It was yesterday. I lied yesterday? When he said he hung his pants over the chair. And I caught you. Yeah! I did. I lied right on the air. On the air! Because I was afraid of... You guys killing me, roasting and judging. He wore dirty jeans and he told us that he picked them up off of the chair. They were hanging over. But in fact, I knew that they were in the hamper and he pulled them out. With his wadded up dirty panties inside. Think about it. I was doing something that was kind of, you know, gross. Embarrassing. But then I said, we've all done it. And then you spray it with some perfume. I knew I go. I took some clothes out of the hamper and I knew Woodsy was going to be like, oh, dude. No, Woodsy has done it 1,000%. Kid's psycho. You're still rationalizing. I know. It was wrong. No, it's fine. No, it's not. Let me tell you the top. It isn't. Well, the bad thing is after the show. Look at how happy L.O.B. is. She's so happy. He's going to go, guys, I need to talk to you in the office.
I'm really sorry I lied to you yesterday. Don't apologize. We're telling you right now it's okay. We're trying to prove to you that sometimes this is the 5%. It was not okay, though. I love when I catch you. It was not okay. But it made the bit better. No, I should not have lied. It's embellishment. I didn't need to. It's not a lie. It's an embellishment. You weren't planning on telling us that story. It just came up. You weren't prepared. It's okay. I like catching you in lies. You were embellishing for the sake of the story. L.O.B. got so happy. Yeah, yeah. It's like when I see you yawn. I'm like, yeah, I got you. Okay, want to hear the women's top 10 lies? Yes. Because I, like, don't be upset. I'm gunning. He is. I already am. The top 10 women lies. Size doesn't matter. I've pretty much done them all. Is that a lie? That's a lie. It is? No, that's, I'm saying. L.O.B. is giving me a look right now like, it's a lie. It's a lie, dude. What's a lie? Size doesn't matter. Size doesn't matter? Oh, yeah. You toast. Okay. Wow. Okay. Here's women's top ten lies. Nothing's wrong. I'm fine. Yeah, that's the worst. Nothing's wrong. I'm fine. Nothing's wrong, you jerk. I don't like that at all. Baby, what's the matter? This one I've done. I don't know where it is. I haven't touched it. Haven't you? Where's the remote? Where's the remote? I don't know. My keys, my wallet. Here's another one. My cigs. It wasn't that expensive. Wasn't it?
It was, and I just don't want to tell you about it. Where's the receipt? Don't worry about that. I want it. I have a job. Why can't I pay for it and you not yell at me? How come you don't tell me about it then? How much was it? It was exactly what I felt was necessary. But you don't want to say the amount. Well, it's none of your business. You're not wearing it. You're my wife. Yeah, but it's my money too. Is it? I didn't have that much to drink. Jamie will get me with that one. This is a giggle from LLB. No, but these are the women's lies. I know. Jamie will get me with that one. She'll be like, I don't know how I'm through laughing. Yeah, everyone does. You're like, really? Okay. Did you? This one. Love you, hon. 100%. All women have done it. I have a headache. The old weak headache bit? I have a headache. I have a headache. Oh, my head really hurts. Sometimes it really does. It does it. Sometimes it's like really small and you blow it way out of proportion though. This was on sale. I got it. It was on sale. It was on sale. Everything I buy is on sale according to me. Yeah? It's never on sale. You really have a coupon when you went in there with it? We say the I'm on my way too. Oh, I've had this for ages. She said that before. This is all enclosed. Where'd you get that? But you know, I don't really shop that much. My wife was giving me a hard time about how I've got so much of something.
I can't remember what it was. Cologne. Movies. Watches. Watches. It was something in the closet. Hats. Shoes. Polo shirts. Hello, my baby. Where's my fedora? See? It was something like, he's got so many T-shirts or something that he never wears or something like that. Like, really? Undershirts. We all have a lot of things that we don't wear. You got any shoes in there, kid? And she goes, for a second, she was, like, stunned. And then she goes, I wear her mall. I wear her mall. Do you? Do you wear her mall? I do a sporadic, well, not a periodic purging of things. I do, too. If I haven't worn it in a certain amount of time, done. Yeah, she goes, I wear them. In the last six months, I've worn every pair of shoes in there. I go, really, Imelda Marcos? You've worn. You've worn. How many does she have, like? 8,000 pairs. She goes, and I clean those out. There's barely, there's not nearly enough. She did. She got rid of a bunch of them. But I'm like, really? You wore those leopard printed, you know. I bet she did.
See, I have so many things that I buy. I have so many things that I buy and I don't wear. I have like my go-to favorites and I just wear them over and over again. And Todd's like, you have so many other things. I'm like, I know, I don't want to wear it. I know. Oh, me, I wear, especially now because I don't have very many choices. LOB gave me these shoes that she got from a buddy that has a shoe company. It's the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn in my life. I'm wearing mine right now. I'm wearing mine right now. I'm wearing my moccasins today. Everyone but Sienna. Well, I wear them a lot. You know that. Todd wears his. He has the same one as Mike's. Okay. Another lie. No, I didn't throw it away because women throw away all your stuff. Why do they do that? Because you guys leave it out. Can you just say, can you put this away? Right now. I was thinking of this this morning. I had a card and it was in a, it was in a, in the Hallmark bag, the white Hallmark bag. It was up on the kitchen island. It's gone now. If I could throw it out. I don't know yet. It was never written in or anything? I don't know. No, it wasn't written in. It was a blank. It was a blank. Four. And there was a gift card along with it. And it's gone. You shouldn't have my gift, buddy. I don't know if it's been thrown away or if it's been put somewhere. You got me one for the Cheesecake Factory? You bet, buddy. How long had it been out there? Since the weekend. That's not bad, dude. That's a couple days. She could put a hamper. An elephant.
Not touching it. I'm not touching it. I walk around it. I step over it. You bet. Absolutely. I'll pole vault over it before I'll move it. It'll get to the point where I need a javelin to get over it. I'm like you guys. Before I touch it. I'm like you guys. You don't touch it? I don't touch it. No, I would know. If I do, I put it right on his bedside table where all of his stuff goes. Yeah. Pretty much everything else is mine. Garrett never called it, huh? No. What's up with Garrett, man? Dreval. He's so mad. The last woman lie is, it's just what I've always wanted. Family Force 5. It's so strange. Look at that. Oh, wow. Dave Matthews. Long time no see. It's good to see you, Dave. It's good to see you, too, Cubby. You've been wandering around out in the hallways. I was under the board the whole time, and that song you just played woke me up. It did? Yeah. I think you thought you saw me, but you didn't. Yeah, you're right, because the person that I saw out there was wearing clothes, and you're not. I am in a loincloth. Yes, you are. Dave's wearing a loincloth. That's right. Why are you wearing that? That's kind of a weird thing for you to be wearing. Free spirit, man. Yeah, you are. You're kind of like a hippie, but dirtier. I like it. That's right. That's right. I heard a little angels in here earlier. Yeah, we had in the studio, you could probably still smell the patchouli oil, but we had Eskimo Blue Waters. I know, man. I discovered her. You discovered Eskimo Blue Waters? That's right. I didn't know she was discovered yet. Yeah, she's not really discovered, is she? I mean, maybe you... By discovered her, I mean I slept with her. Okay, okay, okay. Actually, I discovered her twice. I found her at El Pollo Loco. She was taking my order and playing a gig at the same time. That's pretty cool. Yeah, I put a dollar in the tip jar and walked on out the door. Look at Dave Matthews' eyes. They're bloodshot. The bloodshot and they're a little blurry. She's got something, man. Eskimo Blue Water? Yeah, she got something.
Yeah, she's... She went to... You know, she... You just killed Dave. You just absolutely knocked Dave over. Oh, Lauren. I call it love braille. You are really something else. Nothing a shot of penicillin can't cure is my motto. I don't know. It's a pretty good one. You guys know she went to Juilliard, right? Did she really? I didn't know that. Did she tell you that? Not the school. It's the yogurt place. Oh, yeah. The first time I thought, I thought she was a narc. I did. I thought she was a narc, but boy. She turned out to be something else. Turned out to be something else. That's great. I buy all my grass from her now. Do you really? I haven't called it in 25 years. The cool thing is, man, is that we actually did a little collaboration. You an Eskimo? Me an Eskimo. Yeah, she had written a song and thinks it will be perfect for me.
Did she write the song? That's coming out in 2019. Did she write the song on, your next album's coming out in 2019? Roughly. Nine years from now? Roughly. Did she write the song? Because she does different mediums. She does acoustic work. She's written some stuff on her brother's iPad. Well, we did this on her little brother's Casio. You did? You did? Like the little kid Casio? I went to the Beat Laboratory and, you know, she had, She had everything worked out. The chord progression was something I couldn't even. It's so beautiful. Why do you hear it? It's almost like you've heard it before, but you can't really put your finger on it. Is that what this tape is? Yeah, yeah, yeah. And, yeah, we wrote this together. It's a co-whatever. Co-wrote it together? Yeah, whatever. Okay. Co-whatever. She calls it smash into you, which I really like. Wow. This is really something. Something to that. It gets you, doesn't it? Kind of makes you want to dance a little bit. Oh, my God. Yeah, if I were seven. Ready? I've got my bat. I've got my link. Untied to you, loose. Untie you again. I've got our nails in me, my enemy. Dave, Dave, Dave, Dave. You don't recognize that?
It's your song, bro. You're singing your song. You're singing a song you've already written and released on the radio. It sounds like something I've heard, but I... Crash Into Me. Crash Into Me. No, this is Smash Into You. I realize that that's what she's calling that, but you have a song called Crash Into Me. It's a big hit. She wrote a song with you, but it was actually your song. She basically said she wrote it for me. She said she wrote it for you, but it's your song. Me, her, and her little brother Jimmy did it on the Casio. We can tell it was done on a Casio. Sour like candy too much. Sour you roll and sour you rock. Sour. Sweet. Found to me, I'm so found to me. Oh, when I come smash. It's crash. Into you. Oh, wow. What is happening? Is that a ringtone? Go away from me. I go away from me. Who is playing the piano right now? In a girl's nightmare. In a girl's nightmare. Oh, wow. Boy's Dream. You like it? Wow. Dude, that is your song. I thought it was really bad. You just messed up your own song. I think it's your song. Oh, man.
You should stick to playing that song on the guitar. It's like Bad Blake said in the movie Crazy Heart. All the good ones, you think you've heard them before. Yeah. It's because you have. That one you have. That one you have. She must have good weed. I think you got it. And that's when we get it a little bit. Cassia? Diana heard that earlier and said it sounded like a slot machine. I did. It's like, are you from Vegas? Yeah, it's like you're walking into Pechanga. Yeah. Well, I think you guys are nuts, man. She's got something. Yeah, she's going places. That's a great Casio, bro. Thank you. Thank you. On some underwear. Loin cloths, a little too open. Yeah, your loin cloth is a little loose. It's disgusting. I'm going back to bed. Thank you. Keep your glasses on. And keep a tight watch on your own songs. Okay. Maybe run those by people before you. Yeah. I own all my own publishing. Sure you do. You might, but you should have recognized that. Yeah, it's a good idea. You know what? Next time, let your attorney listen to it before you play it for us. I don't have one. I'll just ask Garrett. Heck of a record. Wow. That's beautiful. Isn't that great? It's a great ringtone. Heck of a record. All right, Eskimo Blue. She's something else. That's right. Hey, you guys want to hear some new releases? Yes. Some new music that's coming out? That kind of stuff? What do you got?
What do you got? Coming out this week, actually came out yesterday, The Rolling Stones, Exile on Main Street. It's the deluxe version. Is that an old album that they're reissuing? It has some old songs, but there's, I believe, eight unreleased songs on there. Feast on that, Justin Timberlake. Because of the release date yesterday, Larry King had Mick Jagger on. My dad called me. He's like, are you watching this? My dad, whose name is Keith Richards, was obsessed with The Rolling Stones. He's like, I got it on, Dad. Don't worry. I love it. That sounds all right. It's the Stones. It's the Stones. It sounds better than All Right. See, I didn't grow up with them. That makes a difference. Neither did I. Did I? Yeah, I like Start Me Up. Really? No, what I mean by that. Satisfaction. What I mean is, I didn't grow up with my mom and dad having her on in the house. Neither did I. You didn't? No. No, neither. I did. I like the big hits. Satisfaction, Start Me Up. Can't always get what you want. Beast of Bird. Honky Tonky Woman. Devil's sympathy. Maybe. 70 for the devil.
Brown sugar. Sugar brown is a good one. Shelter gimme is a good one. Tonky honk women. Tonky honk women is a good one. Look at all their hits. You guys could just keep reversing all of them. Keep making your point over and over. Ad nauseum. I get it. Oh my gosh. I get it. I messed it up. Now listen, it happens. Yeah, it sure does. It happens. Sometimes you rub people's nose in it over and over again. What else is out, Tiana? I'd be happy to tell you. LCD sound system is out. This is happening. I have their first three. Do you? I saw them at Coachella. You did? Yeah. Who opened for them? I don't know. Wow. Here we go. My favorite group I saw there. I think I just found today's matchup. I think you did. Right? That was awesome. Nice. Also out this week, the Black Keys brothers. Yes. Don't know them, but I like that. Yeah. They're good. They're great. Detroit. I've already dug myself a deep enough hole. Oh, we're good. Garrett, we love you. Hey, when we're off the air, you're going to run by his office. Yeah, absolutely. And don't answer your phone for the rest of the day. As it is.
I take my little briefcase, whatever that is, that I keep my computer and I walk real fast by his office. Oh, a hundred. Do you do that too? A hundred. You walk real fast past everything. You are out. Because my legs are this big. Garrett doesn't get mad. He just gives you the luck. No, I just get even. Like, really? Really? Yeah. And when I blow up your house. Maybe I fill your office with gas. Oh, no. Another album that's out, Band of Horses, Infinite Arms. I went to it yesterday. Woods is big on Band of Horses. I got my hands on both of these CDs thanks to Woods. That's good. And I got them both from Garrett. Thank you, Garrett. Thanks to Garrett. I listened to this whole record. Way to hook it up for me, Garrett. I listened to this whole record yesterday. So up your alley, Woods. It is so good. If by up my alley, you mean musically brilliant. It's different to their last album, though, for sure. It's so good. I like it.
Damien Marley and Nas, distant relatives. Interesting. I'm in. Graphically they moved us from Africa. We was once happiness pursuers. Now we backstabbing, combative and abusive. The African and Arab go at it, they most Muslim. We should be moving in unison. This is like the Lion King soundtrack. It does. It does. It's a circle of life. What else? Reflection Eternal, revolutions per minute. I like this. I like this. Is this Talib quality? He had a CD called Reflection. That's the artist. This one you may remember from American Idol, or you may not. Bob Ice 3. Not bad, yeah.
I got no problem with that. Sounds like Bad Blake a little. Sounds real whiskey-soaked. A little bit. It's about to get cheesy right here. No way. It's good. It's not bad. I like that slide guitar in there. I love slide. It looks good. And this last one you can hear on Big Sonic Chill a lot. They like to play Faithless. This is the dance. Yeah. Mikey's sucking on a fast fire and moving the glow stick. Oh, my gosh. I didn't know your arms were that long. I know. He's got, like, California condor wings. Nobody photoshopped Mikey's face on a condor with an 8-foot wing smell. Holding glow stick. We have to go to commercials, so let me run through the DVD and Blu-rays out this week real quick. Invictus.
is out. That's one of Matt Damon and Morgan Freeman. Valentine's Day, which we all saw and loved. The Spy Next Door with Jackie Chan. Extraordinary Measures has Harrison Ford and The Messenger with Woody Harrelson. More than one in ten dads suffer from something that up to this point, you probably only thought women suffer from. Do you know that? Dude, Audio Slave, I Am the Highway. That album came out and just killed me. The first song on it is called Cochise. Jamie bought me the disc. I put it in. I was jumping around my apartment like an idiot. It's so good. I interviewed Chris Cornell and I wanted to know everything about what he meant when he wrote the lyrics. Yeah. Pearls and swine bereft of me. Really? How do you come up with that?
Because you're brilliant? Because you're amazing and I'd probably French kiss him. What are you pointing at, you creep? What does that mean? She is hysterical. Ridiculous. Oh my gosh. Tell me it's not true. What, that I'd French kiss Chris Cornell? No, that's what I just showed you. Right now? Did you miss what she did? I saw what she did. I'm not, you know. Yeah, yeah, yeah. She is a little creeper. She's a filter. She's disgusting. She's a filter. More than 1 in 10 dads suffer from this. I couldn't believe this when I read it because I was like, man, I didn't know guys could get this. Neither did I. Erectile dysfunction. No, women get it most of the time. Women get erectile dysfunction? No. What is it, Sienna? Postpartum depression. More than 1 in 10 fathers become depressed after the birth of their child. 10.4% actually. Do they? And, you know, they get it for the same type of reasons.
lack of sleep, stress, you know. What does it look like, I wonder? In-laws. What does it look like for a guy? Well, they said that with a man, it's different because they usually have, they're more hostile and aggressive. Fair enough. And women are usually just sad. Yeah. I believe it. For women, it's real. Oh, yeah, it's totally real. For men, it's real, too. Is it? It's called laziness. No, it's not. Depression is a chemical thing, so. Postpartum. Yeah, postpartum means after the birth. Aren't these dudes just aggro? Aren't they just kind of aggro? No. It's very stressful having a kid. 24% of women get postpartum depression. That's a lot. I know. I'm scared. Why would you get it? Brooke Shields got it. It was really bad. Jamie had some friends that had it. It can be hormonal, but sometimes it's just an emotional thing that happens.
How come? Because you're bummed that you don't get to be pregnant anymore? It could be in any number of things. Your body just flips out. Yeah. Sometimes it's strictly like your body physically reacting, but it can be. Kim had it. Really? Jasper. On the younger ones, when she was younger, it didn't really affect her, but for some reason it hit her when Jasper. How long? It went for a while. She just had to put on a happy face. She said she full on had to just. Make herself be, you know, it's like, I'm going to be happy. I don't care. I'm going to be happy and just kind of go that direction. What did it look like for her? For her, it was just like, I got to get up. I got to do, you know, they got all this stuff to do. I'm just overwhelmed. It's, you know, this is killing me. You know, that's just, she had a sad face on her, you know, just had her sad face on. I talked to a friend that was telling me about a lot of times after second kids, that can happen too. I guess can the first kids. But it can happen with the second kids a lot, and it does. But Rebecca never had any of that. She's lucky. Yeah. But, I mean. I know. It's like you think, like for me, it's like there's no way I would get it. You think, you know, you're just going to be so happy once the baby gets here. But it's just not the case, unfortunately. That's too bad.
Hey, John Gardner, they moved him out of San Diego to a different prison? Yeah, he's at the North Kern State Prison, which is in Delano. It's about 180 miles north of L.A. He right now is going to be undergoing a 45-day reception center evaluation to determine which of the state's 33 prisons will... be suited best for him. Among some other factors, the review is going to take into account his psychological makeup, physical health and education status. He right now is confined in a maximum security cell by himself until the 45 days are up. They better leave him there. M1 Josh from South County. Hey Mikey, how are you? Good. Hey, I was 27 and I had twins and yeah, I ended up having them gone. Cymbalta and a few other antidepressants. And I just found myself getting very angry, getting in fights. And it damn near cost me my marriage. So that's the difference in men and women, isn't it? The women get really sad. The men get super, super aggressive. You don't know. I mean, it takes different forms. Does it? Women can get hostile. It said, yeah, in that article that basically it's just the men are aggressive and they're just really hostile and women.
What was the matter, man? Was it a chemical thing? I mean, because you can kind of understand with the women, their body actually gives birth and the hormones change. Like Sienna's body. My body is so weird. Right now, for the last three days, I've had a bad taste in my mouth. Like I've been sucking on metal. Really? Yeah. It's normal. If I was the father of that kid, I wouldn't be like, I've got a weird taste in my mouth. Right. No chemical reason. I think guys are just more selfish. Well, wait, did you get diagnosed with postpartum depression? A form of it. I don't know how to exactly explain it, but definitely like anxiety slash, you know, depression. How long did it last? I'm still working on it. Yeah. Well, good luck, dude. Yeah, guys are selfish. I'm used to doing my own thing. Having my own type things, and I wouldn't change the kids for the world. But all that goes away, and the kids have to be priority number one. It's not a bad thing, but it's a thing that I think some guys don't really comprehend, and it takes a while. Especially you have twins. It's double duty, dude. Double duty. All that stuff goes away. Thanks for the call. All right, later. You didn't have any of that, Mike, going on? No. No, Rebecca didn't. I mean, go without sleep and all that stuff. You definitely go without sleep.
And it isn't, you know, it's very difficult. It's difficult having three kids, twins. It's just difficult. Sorry, I'm falling asleep. I slept in five days. No, it's tough for Rebecca, man. Having those three, it's tough. Twins, I can't imagine. I've seen just with my nieces just how much work one is. I can't imagine double that. Yesterday, Jakey was laying on the bed with me. And Rebecca came in the room and she had a twin in each arm. She put them down and all she wanted to do was put them in their jammies to put them down for a nap. And obviously Luke isn't going for it. Weird. Yeah, weird. So she changes his diaper and watching her put him in jammies.
was like watching someone try to solve a Rubik's Cube. Oh, boy. Because he's twisting the jammy leg by flipping over and over and over. I can't yell at him because he doesn't understand what you're doing. You have to make sure Ryan doesn't roll off the bed and stuff. Yeah, Ryan's crawled away, and so I'm holding him, and Luke's doing the spin thing, so she gets the leg all figured out, gets it on his leg. And starts to put him in it. And he's different than Ryan and Jake. He's just like all over. Weird. He wants out of it. He doesn't want any part of it. And she's like. Oh, my gosh. I bet, dude. When they were newborns, how in the world did she do it? Oh, it's crazy. Well, we had help. We have help. But the help lately has had, you know, her mom's out of town. We have somebody else that helps us that's going through, like, finals in school and asked for time off. So I'm trying to pick up a little bit of slack. When you were working and it was just her. Gosh. Yeah. Well, it's hard. I mean, we've always had to help, but it's still hard. She's a superwoman. And Luke, that's all you got to say. Luke. She goes, he's doing a cry thing again. He just decides to cry for no reason.
This is still. She saw him out in the driveway trying to hotwire your car. I couldn't figure it out. That makes the baby crazy. He's hitchhiking now. Hillary, you only have one, right? And she's a little angel. No, she's not a little angel. She is awesome. But we had one and we're not having anymore. Really? Because, well, for a lot of reasons. But one of them is it was so hard. And we both work full time. And when I first had our daughter. Jeremy was still in a band that was traveling. And so when she was six weeks old, he was gone for three weeks on the road with the band. And then he went to England with the band. Oh, my gosh. And I was working. When she was six weeks old, I was still on maternity leave. But then, like, I went back to work. And we put her in daycare. And he was still, you know, traveling. I was real serious the other day with Rebecca. And I said, I know how corny, cliche, whatever this sounds. I don't ever think to myself what my parents did. I just don't. I don't actually consider. Now that I'm a parent, I go, they're never going to go, hey, guys, thanks. It was really awesome what you guys did. They don't get it. They don't get it. I'm like, you don't realize, you guys, the craziness that you guys are. You guys are nuts.
Two of you have lost your minds. Two of you have lost your minds. I think he's talking about me and you. Yeah, I'm talking about, no. Luke and Ryan. Seriously. Sometimes you think, like, are you guys nuts? You can't imagine someone that little can make your world upside down. Over the simplest things. Like this morning, our daughter didn't want to get dressed. And I was like, dude, it's not this difficult. Get dressed and the drama will end. Like right now. All you got to do is get dressed. It's not that big of a deal. And she was freaking out for like 10 minutes. And you're like, really? This is my morning? Yeah. Come on. Put on your pants. Yeah. Jake will do a thing where there's this. He had a bad dream from one of the cartoons that comes on. And it's a running channel. So they come on intermittently. And it'll come on. And he'll start to go, change it. And we're like, we know, we know. Give me a second. Just give me two seconds, man. Two seconds. We're doing it. And he's like, change the change. I know, I know, I know, buddy. I know, I know, I know, I know, I know. You're fumbling for the remote. Dude, always. You want to, like, get in front of the TV and be like, is this cool until I can turn it? It's crazy. What do you got coming up, Hillary?
Oh, gosh. Good stuff. The new Silver Sun pickups, the brand new Hold Steady song, The Weekenders, some Vampire Weekend, Tempered Track. Nice. Lovely and talented Hillary is coming up next. Stick around. We'll see you tomorrow morning at 6 o'clock. Mikey shows out. Hey. A Lincoln Financial radio station. Mikey in the morning. About the music all day and night. FM 94.9. It's about the music.
