Mikey’s seat needs adjustment so his feet don’t dangle. Van Der Sloot is a Van Der Douche. Gary Coleman’s real 911 call raises a lot of questions about his wife’s reaction. Cue the Rocky music for WoS Padres extra inning grand salami. The Tigers were robbed of a perfect game by dumb ump. The Kid doesn’t mix well with bad umpiring. Washington blackmail scandal involves both Clinton and Obama. Jamie’s cool head saves the day for Woodsy and their dog Lucky. Why would Mikey punch himself in the face? Poor sister Waverly, she can’t catch a break when granny is around Sienna. Which twin does Mikey favor? Luke calls in to let us all know. Lauren’s mom calls in and does “other mom” voice! Ryan calls in to make his case for “Da Da”. Hoyle decides it’s time for 94/9 to get more street cred and laments on his cavities. Next is another classic moment as Hoyle and Woods take each other on in a rap battle! Love and Respect, a book Mikey highly recommends sparks a huge debate. Mike tries to shoot holes in LOB’s relationship theory. Lauren rolls her eyes at Mikey’s theory on men and women loving and respecting. You can compliment LOB’s butt, if the context is right. Woods gets a hold of some Tex Mex and his taste buds thank him. Lauren’s airport creeper travels sees her having a hard time being mean to strangers but yet has creative lies to get out of conversations. Sienna says looks don’t matter but then she’s married to Todd the God. Clay Aiken is gay, who knew? Airport baggage handlers do more than handle your bags. Jay would rather suffer electrocution than be caught wearing crocs. Time for another great Mikey Show Haiku! Obese Mikey didn’t watch sit-coms in the 80’s but watched plenty of fast food menus. Citibank fired a hot chick for being too hot and Susanna steps in for her defense. Susanna then bags on LOB for taking herself too seriously!

BZT San Diego, the Lincoln Financial Media Station. The new home of The Mikey Show. This is FM 94.9. If you like that about it, let's do this thing. Come on. 571949 is our number. And you can text us, 949mikey at gmail.com. Let's get this show on the road. So much to talk about. Wait till we tell you about the dirt bag in the Natalie Holloway case. We'll tell you that in just a second. Oh, my gosh. We have so much show today. We got so much. So let's get you fired up on the phone lines. 570-1949. Call us right now because at the beginning and end of every show, we open it up to you to call in about any topic you want.
Big topics on the table for us within the next few are this dirt bag. We're going to be talking about new revelations in the Gary Coleman deal with Gary Coleman dying. And anything you want to call in about. There's a new actress, by the way, in Transformers because they replaced Megan Fox, which a lot of people think is nuts. But we'll be telling you about that. If you have iPhone. Some stuff changing for you. You know, I heard about it yesterday and once I really discovered what it was, it didn't necessarily bum me out, but I know it's going to bum a lot of people out. So we'll tell you all about that. Steve Jobs talked about a bunch of new stuff with the iPhone. We'll get into. A dolphin apparently used an iPad to communicate with humans, did he? Yes, he did. Okay. So a lot. Really cool stuff on the show today. So call us right now and say hello. There are five people on the Mikey show. Myself. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the program. I'm your diminutive friend. You know, what else can I tell you? I shouldn't say all that so much anymore. I had a guy walk up to me yesterday and go.
You really are a short, fat Mexican. And I'm like, how do you react to that? Are you serious? Yeah, you will get that every once in a while. I think because people are nervous and they don't know what to say. Well, hey, how about don't say that? How about don't say, like, fat Mexican? But they know it's a joke that I make and so it's safe. And you know who doesn't get busted? Yeah, you know who doesn't get that person saying that to them? Yeah. The person that doesn't say it. Really, though? I've had a couple of guys write me. privately and say, listen, pal, you're not fat. I'm fat. And if you keep calling yourself fat, it makes me feel bad. I'm like, yeah, sorry. Yeah. You know, I'm going to I'm going to bag on myself if I feel it's necessary. Yeah. But then you don't like it when people call you Chaz Bono. I don't care. I'm over it. Oh, Mikey's having problems. Well, pop a chair. has been giving me a little agita lately. Uh-oh. Something's wrong with the chair. Uh-oh. The throne is... The throne! The throne! Is vaulted. I think we just lost a couple rubies off the side. Oh, no. That's way too tall for you, Mike. I have a couple in my purse. Yeah, Sienna's got some in her purse. Your legs are going to dangle off the end of that. It's way too tall. Why is it up so high?
How dare you? I'm being serious. I know you are. How dare you? Mikey's like on his hands and knees trying to inspect the bottom of his chair. It's hysterical. What's the matter? You want to borrow my chair for today? We'll switch. I'll tell you what it is. It feels like... Is that better? It feels like... It feels like it's been adjusted and that it's been adjusted strangely. Oh, that would drive me nuts. Somebody on this show might have sat in it. When they were up here to interview Not a Surf last Monday. I didn't adjust it. You didn't? No, I sat in it, though. You've sat in it twice since then. Several times. I know. I've been noticing it, and I just finally said I can't deal with it. I didn't adjust it, though. I just sat in it. Okay. Didn't I? Did I? Didn't I? We've got to restitch your name in gold on this. I know. It's all coming off. People need to know. Don't get in the director's chair. There you go. Mikey. My key. My key. Oh, I think I found it, you guys. Look, he's riding a bull. He does. He does. One hand is down there. The other hand's up. Yeah, I have one hand between my legs. The other hand's up in the air. Riding a bull. Okay. Swaying back and forth. You better? No, but... We'll deal with that on commercial time. Yeah, we'll deal with it later.
Woodsy is our sports guy. He's our guy's guy. He's our guy without glasses today. He's got his contacts in. And he's a surfer. Surf day today. Yeah. He's a surfer. He's a surfer. I surf a lot more than you do. That's right. And he's going surfing today. Let's see. We have Lauren O'Brien. And she's the blondie. She's the cute single blondie over here to the right. Is she? Is she? Let's see. We have Sienna. She's a married woman. Weird, weird. She's expecting a baby in August, which is not far away. In fact, you're expecting that baby in a little over two months. Yeah. A little over two months. Yeah. I had to wear the sweatpants today. You did? It was a rough day for me. I was like, nothing fits, nothing fits, nothing fits. I remember my wife going through that stuff. She hated it. Yeah. She would get so... Like sad and frustrated and angry and nothing fits me. You just feel disgusting. You look down and you're like, I'm a whale. I'm a whale. Those are the exact words. You're changing week to week. So it's like what fits today is not going to fit on Monday. Let me tell you something. You're the hottest whale out there. Thank you.
I'll be at SeaWorld later today. I told my wife, you know what? If you're going to do something, you're doing it the best you can do. That's right. You know what I mean? Jay Bird is our producer, and he's 46. He's a surfer, too. That guy lives in the North County area, and he's a good dude. It's our friend Jay. I'm taking her out today. She's going down. All right. Are we already there? Yeah. Taking her down. Five minutes? No, on the water. Oh, okay. I'm going to get her real good. Why? What do you mean by that? We'll figure it out. Are you going to run me over with your giant board? With my Lincoln Continental? Yeah. That I surf on? Your Buick. Whoa. What's on a Buick? So, okay, let's get to this because this is a crazy story. I even texted Woodsy about it. No, you called me. Called Woodsy yesterday because I got a CNN blast on my phone. The little dirt bag that is suspected in killing Natalie Holloway. The girl who disappeared in Aruba. In Aruba five years ago. His last name is Vandersloot. What's the guy's name? Joran Vandersloot. Joran. Joran Vandersloot. Joran. Tell everybody the latest on him. Well, this Dutch kid.
He was twice arrested but never charged in the disappearance of Natalie Holloway in Aruba back in 2005. Well, now he's being searched for as the prime suspect in the murder of a... 21-year-old Peruvian woman. Weird. Her name is Stephanie Tatiana Flores Ramirez. She was found beaten and stabbed to death on Sunday. Now, the crazy part is, I mean, that's crazy enough, exactly five years to the day after Natalie's disappearance. Oh, my God. To the day. No way. She was found in a Lima hotel room. Yeah. Lima, Peru. Lima, Peru, in the hotel room, which is now registered under Van der Sloot's name. Shocking. He's 22 years old, that kid. Found in his room. Yeah. And here's the deal. A hotel employee told police that they saw her entering the hotel early Sunday with Yoran. Yoran? Yoran. They looked at surveillance cameras.
It's just nuts. He's in Peru. The reason why he's there is to be in a poker tournament. And I guess they were seen leaving the casino together. Which irritates me. Oh, yeah. What are you doing, dude? It just irritates me. Didn't he admit to it? On like a home video or something like that. He got interviewed by someone. And during the interview, he sort of alluded to it, but he didn't come clean. And I think he was even interviewed by Barbara Walters at one point. Oh, yeah. It was a big deal. Yeah. But here was the deal with this kid. Affluent, dad, a lot of dough, hired some attorneys. It was that kind of... And every time you see him, it's like a smirky... Smug. Smug. It just bothers me because, you know, ultimately this guy did the crime, but the system failed this Peruvian girl. Yeah. Because he was right in their clutches, you know? He's gone, by the way. No one knows where he is. People are looking for him. They think that he fled Peru and is going through Chile and is on his way to Argentina. Here's the problem, though. They're going to have to extradite him and all that crap that comes along with it. He's going to flee Peru. He's going to go somewhere else. They're going to say, well, we're not going to let him out of Nicaragua to extradite him back to Peru and all that garbage. Even if they do find him, it'll be years until anything happens. Unless he turns up dead. I mean, he's done now if they found him. I mean, he's done.
Five years to the day this happened. What a creep. That's not a coincidence. He is a scumbag. What a creep. Yeah. So he and this young girl were seen leaving the casino Wednesday evening. So they were seen several times together hanging out. And now the hotel room is registered under his name. They say that he entered the hotel room at 5 a.m. And four hours later, he left it by himself. Left the room by himself four hours later. And then they found her on the floor. I mean, come on. Yeah. Oh, dude. It just makes me ache. It's horrible. It is. That's a piece, man. So anyway, that's the latest with that guy. Oh, it makes me sick. It makes me sick. Let's see. Gary Coleman. What's he said? He's like, yeah, my wife was talking about this last night and I want to explain to me because. I don't understand what's going on, but what's the latest of the Gary Coleman deal? Okay, well, there's two big parts of the Gary Coleman story that came out yesterday. One is that Gary Coleman's wife resisted giving him emergency aid. Now, I have the word for word on the 911 call. Not the audio, but I can read it to you if you want me to. Okay, yeah, yeah. And it's pretty disturbing. So, Shannon Price, his quote-unquote wife, I'll get to that later, 24 years old, calls 911 and says... Wait a minute. Okay, let's pause then. Okay.
I didn't realize that the person that called 911 is his wife. Yeah. Okay, okay. I have it. I can't play it. Oh, okay, good. Play it, yeah. All right, so here's what happened. I'm going to give it a second. What's the problem? Tell me what's happened. I had my husband go make me come through downstairs. He just got home. I heard this big bang. I went downstairs. Blood everywhere. I don't know if he's okay. I'm not down there right now because... I have a seizure. If I get stressed out, I'm going to see. Okay, what? Do you know what happened? Did he fell? His head is bloody. There's blood all over the floor. I don't know what happened. I really don't know what happened. I just heard this thing and I went down there. He's on the floor. What type of thing? Huh? What type of thing? What type of what? What type of thing? Like a crash? Like he fell? Like he fell, yeah. Send someone quick. You don't even know if he's going to be alive because there's a lot of blood on the floor. Is there any way you can go down there at all?
What does that mean? Is there any way that you can go down there? I'll try. I don't know. She's skeeved because of the blood. Is that it? She said that she doesn't like the blood. And she had said in the very beginning, I have a fever. I'm not feeling well. So she had asked him to make her a sandwich because she was not feeling well. Okay. And that explains it. As soon as you said. Skeeved out by the blood. Okay. You've got a cold, and you're upstairs in your room, and you hear a giant crash. You're like, yeah, I'm not coming down, and I'm feeling too good. I don't think so. But she said that there's blood, so she knows. She saw it and ran back upstairs, and she's skeeved out by it. Okay. Okay. Do you know if he's breathing? He's moving. I see him making noise. Oh, my gosh. Barry, are you okay? Stay where you are. Don't move, Barry. Is that him? That's him. No, she said, Gary, are you okay? Stay where you are, Gary. Oh, that's her off. She's yelling to him. Yelling him. And she's still, I mean, she's still not helping him, just yelling. Can you tell him to put pressure on the wound? Well, it's on the back of his head. Okay, but he needs to put pressure on the wound. No, no, no, you need to put, yeah. Well, the operator said that to her first, and she said, no, I can't do it, I can't do it. Because of the blood? Yeah, because of the blood. If he's talking to you.
Ma'am, if you don't, I mean, I know you're skeeved out by blood and, you know, and not all of us are. Some of us are more skeeved out by blood. But if you don't. If it's a life and death situation. And your husband. Clearly it was. Yeah, there's a very good chance he could die if you don't do it. What happened? Gary, don't. I don't even know what happened. Wait, Gary, don't. Maybe he's trying to get up. Oh, gosh. Okay, so that does tell me that he's alive. Yeah. Because she said that. So that tells me he's alive. At least at the time of this recording. There's a degree of apathy, no? Yeah, a little bit. Yeah. Right? A little bit of, you know, yeah. Just ambivalence. Just, well, that's what happened. Here we are. And see, I watch some of those shows where things like this happen, and I realize that people are wired different. You know, some people, when they're in a stressful situation, they do become that way because that's how they cope. And some people, they don't have coping mechanisms, and so they're freaking out. Can I tell you what happened in my house last night? What?
I talked to Laura. Wait, maybe you should tell us. It's the same bit. Okay, so she's with him. And it sounds like she's with him because she's saying, hold this. So now she's with him? Yeah, but it, I mean, you can see in the beginning, like, she could have gone down there and helped in the beginning, and she was like, uh, uh. Yeah, uh, yeah, but I don't know.
I want to, what do you guys think? Because at this point that she's with him, I'm giving her a little bit of slack because she's with him. I mean, we're. Dude, I'm so cynical about all this stuff. I'm like, she killed him in my head. Really? I'm like, yeah, she did something. See, I don't think that, but I just think, oh my gosh, like your husband is on the floor. There's blood there. You need to be doing everything you can to be helping him. And here you are saying, I have a fever. I don't feel good. And you're yelling to him from the other room in the beginning. And it's like, you know. Like, I understand. It's not her fault. I'm so cynical. I'm like, foul play, foul play, foul play. I've got the foul play red light going off my head. What did he ultimately die of? Was it a brain hemorrhage? So could it have been prevented if she would have just gotten up off her butt and helped him? Like, that's what I would start to be like. I think that may be part of what. Well, I think there's more. Isn't there more to that story later? No, there's another part to the Gary Coleman situation. What? I don't even know why you're standing. And the operator yells, tell him he needs to sit down. He's like pretty much dying and she's yelling at him. She's nagging him. Weird. That's him. That was him. Sit down. Ready? Well, see.
I'm giving her a little bit of a break here for yelling at him because she's trying to do what they're telling her to do. I'd probably be, if my wife was standing up, I'd be forcing her to sit down and I'd be like, babe, sit down. Don't move. What if she is? What if she is gagging? It doesn't matter. He's dying. I know. I know. I know. I'm just saying, is it bad that, I mean, okay, I'm with you guys. Like, I don't care if you're gagging help. I'm with you on that. Yeah. But I don't, I can't like fault her for gagging. I mean, if it, if it makes her gag, it makes her gag. If I was throwing up, I would like to hope, think that I would be. Throwing up by helping. Throwing up as my hands are helping. Absolutely. And she is now. I mean, she is helping. She is. She helped by calling 911. And got there and said, hey, hold this on your head and sit down and blah, blah, blah. I don't suspect foul play. I just. You guys say, hey, get down there quicker. That we could have had a little more empathy on her part. Get down there. Get, you know, start helping. And that's what the whole story, the article, no one's necessarily blaming her yet. I'm sure there will be people that try to. Yeah. But they're just saying that she resisted help, you know. Oh, man.
Can you go to the front door? They can come in. I know, but I want you to go to the front door. If it's making you gag, I want you to go to the front door and open it for him. It's open. It's open. That is suspicious to me. Do you get what's going on there? Did you catch what was happening there? She told her, if you're gagging so badly, go let the EMT guys in. And have you heard that now for the third time? Instead of doing that, she keeps saying to the operator, it's open. It's open. It's open. It's open. Instead of rushing to the door to let them in, she keeps saying, it's open. Maybe she already opened it? No. She's saying, it's open. It's unlocked. Well, that's what I'm getting. Unlocked. You know? They can come on in. Just send them on in. Right. And the lady's like, no, no, no. Let them in. Yeah, send them in. No, let them in. It's open. No, no, let them in. Yeah. It's open. The paramedics are at your house. You called 911. It's open. Open the freaking door. It's open. You know, there's a resistance. To me, there seems to be a resistance to doing what the operator is telling her to do, which is to go open the door.
And I'm like panic-stricken. I want you to let me know when the officer starts with you, okay? You can hear it now. Okay, then I'm going to let you go, okay, Shannon? Okay. All right, thank you. Okay, bye. Bye. And by the way, it's open. My only, only possible scenario here is if she has a fever, you can sometimes be... Delusional. Loopy? Yeah, exactly. Loopy. Yeah, maybe she was on medication or something. And she's saying, I can't stand very long. So maybe she's just like really weak and not herself. I don't know. Woodsy is not buying any of it. I really don't, man. I've seen it happen too many times. And Jay has said before that fevers run in his family. And he says like... Jay, have you seen this kind of like odd behavior with people? I was listening to the audio. It sounds like she says she'll have a seizure, not that she has fever. No, she's got fever. No, I have the words in front and it says fever. She said she didn't know if he had a seizure. My kids just, when they're super high temperature, they just get loopy. I mean, they can't, they absolutely will walk and wonder. Like Jasper or any of the kids would just get up and start walking somewhere and they're like, okay, calm down. She sounded pretty lucid on the phone. She did. Pretty lucid. Like you could.
Really understand her. She was very clear with what had happened, possibly. And, hey, I was sick. I asked him to make me a sandwich. He did. Yeah. I'll say this. If that turns into a criminal investigation, like negligence or something, or even homicide, I think it's going to be very difficult for a prosecutor. And the reason that it is is because, man, there's a lot of questions from listening to that audio. If you're a defense attorney, for her, there's a lot of things. My client this, my client that, my client. And as a prosecutor, you can go, well, why not this? Why not this? Why not this? But man, for a jury to try to figure that out, it's a lot. Are you ready for the other twist to the story? Yeah. She was not his wife at the time. They are divorced. And this never became public until now, of course. But as of August 12th, 2008, they have been divorced. Gary Coleman and Shannon Price. And his attorney, the divorce attorney, came out and said, you know, I can confirm it. At the time of Gary's death, they were not married. I have no knowledge if they ever remarried. So unless they were remarried, but no one knows of that. Okay, but what's the controversy? Okay, he was taken off life support. Who was the one to make that decision? Bam! She did. Bam! Okay, but wait, wait, wait. Okay, here's the big question. Maybe she did. Yeah, we don't know exactly who it was yet, but everyone's assuming her. Let's say it is her, okay? Here's my question.
She stand to make anything from it? Because if she didn't. Financially, if she's not married to him, she wouldn't. But maybe she just wanted him out of her life so badly and he wouldn't leave. I don't know. I mean, maybe that I mean, that would be a motive. She just wanted him out of her life for whatever reason. But I mean, if there's no money, like it'd be one thing if dude had a life insurance policy or if he had some kind of money, which I don't think he did. I think he was broke. But if he had a life insurance policy and she stood to make some dough from it, I get it that she was, you know, I get it. But if she didn't, I'm like, huh. Like, what's the motive? L-O-B, that's a pretty good one. I mean, it could be she just didn't like him anymore. She didn't like maybe, I don't know. Well, he was the one who initiated the divorce. Yeah. Which is a little weird. It's a little weird. M1 Holly from San Diego. Holly. Hi, go ahead. I just want to say, unless you're in her situation, you have no idea, you know, like, what you're going to do. My stepmother and my father were married for four years. He was laying in the bed dying of cancer, and he started throwing up. She couldn't even help him because she started barfing all over, too. Yeah. So, you know, some people just can't cope. Yeah. Listen, Holly, I agree with you 100%. I think it's...
It's tough because, you know, as the Monday morning quarterback, it's easy to be like, well, I'd have done this. And I do believe that there are certain goes without saying expectations. I didn't necessarily hear anything there that I thought was too far outside of the lines. But, you know, and again, I'm like, well, what's the most like what would be her reason for all of it? And you know what always happens in these deals? More comes out that we don't know. So who knows? That's true. You never know. You never know. But just hearing what I heard, I'm not, like, necessarily ready to pull the monster card. Oh, you monster. Not quite yet. But who knows? I mean, listen. I don't know if you were listening, Holly, but we talked about that little Yoran Vandersloot, the kid that, you know, allegedly killed Natalie Holloway, who now has... allegedly killed another girl in a hotel room. That guy, I don't have any questions about in my mind. Oh, yeah, he's a creep. Yeah, he's a creep. But anyway, thanks for the call. I appreciate it, Holly. All right, have a good day. You too. 570-1949 is our number. You want to weigh in? By the way, I don't know if you guys know what happened at the Tigers game. Crazy. Oh, my God. It is like...

It's the ninth inning in San Diego. One of the game's best closers, Frankie Rodriguez, is in. Padres down 1-0. Runner on second. Two outs. David Eckstein at the plate. Two strikes. Base hit up the middle. Game tied. Just like that. Fast forward to the 11th inning. Base is loaded. Up to the plate steps Adrian Gonzalez. This game's going to be over.
This ball might leave. It does. Are you kidding me? Are you kidding me? We did it! I love it. Grand slam. Get some. I mean, if that doesn't get the hair on your arms coming up, I don't know what will. I bet you we just made some people cry in their car. Oh, it's fantastic. Well, this is absolutely great momentum for the first place Padres. They head up to Philly. Philly. Detroit. To take on Roy Halladay on Friday. So it's going to be great. What a game last night. Padres took it to them. Walk off Grand Slam. I think that they may be on an emotional high. Absolutely. I think it's quite possible. Adrian Gonzalez saves the day. Ladies and gentlemen, save one for the record books. The San Diego Padres and Adrian Gonzalez have done it again tonight.
With a grand slam walk-off home run. Congratulations, Padre fans. Amazing. Oh, this next story. Oh, wow. Really? I can barely even talk about. Mikey. Round ball. Right side. Jim Joyce. There's a pitcher for the Detroit Tigers, Armando Galarrago, last night. He got hosed. And when I say he got hosed, he had history snatched from his hands by an umpire. This is a crazy story. I can't stand this umpire. I'm at my house. I'm watching baseball. Weird. And they cut to the Tigers game. Perfect game in the ninth. First batter comes up, hits a shot to center field. Austin Jackson goes back and makes one of the top five greatest catches in baseball history. I'm not kidding. Given the circumstances, incredible. Incredible. I'm screaming, oh my God, did you see that catch? Jamie's like, shh, shh, shh, be quiet. Next batter comes up, gets him out.
Last batter, we just heard what happened. Ground ball, first baseman, flips it to first. The guy was out by a foot. A foot. It wasn't even a close play. In baseball, a foot, it's a mile. We're talking about a perfect game on the line. He had a perfect game. This kid went out last night, threw a perfect game, but it got taken from him by Jim Joyce. I was livid. Maybe Jim Joyce was like, there's been too many perfect games this season. And so it would have been the first time in Major League Baseball history to ever have three in a season. I was speechless for this kid. And the kid looked at him and just smiled. Like, are you freaking kidding me? Really? He smiled at him. He's like, okay. So he gets the next guy out, throws a one-hitter. A one-hitter that really was a perfect game. I can't even imagine if it was one of my guys. Jamie goes, why do you care you don't even like the Tigers? I'm like, that is history. Did the managers get out there? It's a great segue. They actually came out. The first baseman, Miguel Cabrera, was giving this guy an earful the whole time. And I read the umpire's lips. He goes, what do you want me to do? Just give it to him? Yeah. Yeah. In that case, you do. Even if it's a tie and it's safe with that on the line, yeah, you give it to him. 100%. 1,000%. Well, not when there's a tie. Tie goes to the road. Does it? Not with a perfect game on the line. Just give it to him. No. Wait, wait, wait. Absolutely. He didn't make.
He made the wrong call. If he made the wrong call, he's not giving him anything. He's just doing his job. But does he believe he gave the wrong call? Now he does. You can see it. It was a foot. He was out by a foot. It was the wrong call. The conversations that I'm hearing today are that instant replay has got to happen. Post this on your blog. So listen to Jim Leland here. He's a Tigers manager. He wants to talk about the situation. Cut three. You know, I don't think there's much sense really talking about it. His performance was absolutely perfect and still is perfect. But that's, you know, that's the nature of the business. That's just the way it is. The players are human. The umpires are human. The managers are human. The writers are human. TV celebrities like Trevor, they're human. He's like that. He's not human. But we all make mistakes. So that's just part of it. And you just move on. It's a crying shame. You know, Jimmy's a real good umpire, has been for a long time. And he probably got it wrong. He probably got it wrong? He's now admitted and come out and said, I blew it. I took a perfect game away from that kid. Oh, no. He cried. He said he cried. No way. And went and hugged the guy. I don't care. You blew it. You blew it, man. Is he human, though? They may, but I don't think they will. But he blew it. He's human. Is he? He made a mistake. He freaking blew it. Is he? He blew it.
I mean, why can't they pause, look at instant replay? Like, why does it have to be a decision right then and there? Like in football, throw a flag, challenge it. Here's the deal. They use instant replay in baseball for home runs, okay? So if there's an idea or a discrepancy, if the ball actually went over the fence or hit a fan or whatever, they will go to that. But there has to be a challenge flag or something. I mean, there has to be. FoxNews.com. This morning, it is their headline story. Yeah. It is their main story. And the headline reads, will baseball right a wrong? They have to. They have to. They have to. So you're the pitcher. Do you really want it now? It's kind of tainted, right? It's kind of tainted a little bit. I still want it if I'm him. I'm like, you're damn right I threw a perfect game. Right. I want it. And you don't want that little, like, asterisk throughout the baseball books. Too late. Too late. I say too late because what about 20 years from now when your son's all grown up and you're telling him the story? What are you, not tell him that part of it? You tell him. That makes it better. It was so obviously blown. Did you see the play? I haven't.
Put it on your blog. Put it on the video. Put it on your YouTube. On your blog. If it can be on YouTube, the umps should be able to look at it. Oh, I know. He did, and he said he's wrong. Yeah, he did. He's wrong. But as I'm saying, though, if there's footage that we can look, if there's footage of it, they should be able to look at it. During the game. But I guess there would be, like, how many times do people slide in? Like, would it be, would it take, like, would baseball games go from, like, six-hour games to, like, 20-hour games if they're re-looking at every play. All I care about is getting it right, you know, and umpires have been under the gun a lot this year for them coming out and a lot of managers saying, hey, these people in the stands, they don't pay to watch you. They pay to watch these players, so do your job. Well, is there a limit to, in football, you can only throw as many challenges as you have timeouts or something? No, which it's one a half, I believe. Is that right, Mike? One challenge a half. Yeah, you get... No, no, no. It's one a half, isn't it? No, what's he? One a game? No, you can have up to three. Is that right? Yeah. No. But if you challenge it and it's not overturned, then you lose a timeout? I think it's one and a half, bro. M1s call in. I think it's one and a half. Because you lose one timeout if you get it wrong. Right. I think you get one and a half. But you're limited to the amount that you can use. I think you get three. We'll see. 57019497. Absolutely. Also, you guys, I felt a little old. I saw the news. Ken Griffey Jr.
has retired in the middle of the season. He basically sent a message to the Mariners president and said, I'm done. This is the guy we talked about a couple weeks ago. Possibly fell asleep in the middle of a game. So maybe it was time. But I'll tell you, I really felt old. I remember when he came up. He was 18 years old. You guys know what his nickname was? What? The Kid. Was it really? A kid. Yeah, I loved it. I Wikipedia'd. He released a statement through the Mariners. You Wikipedia'd? Yeah. It says each team gets two challenges to start the game. If the team uses both challenges and is successful with both, they get a third challenge. Oh. Interesting. You're kind of right, Mike. Neither of us are really right. Oh, per game. Per game, yeah. So you could, you know, if you use both your challenges in one half and you're not successful, you don't get any more. So you're more right than Mike. Probably. Yeah. M1 Dave, are you there? Yeah, what's up, guys? Hi. You heard the same thing or what? What it is, you get two timeouts per game. Challenges. Challenges.
But if you get them both right, you get one more. Nice. Okay. Got it. So that's the rule. That's easy enough. Got it. Thank you. Appreciate it. So Griffey retired. It's a little weird to retire in the middle of a season. He's not going to have the big farewell tour where he goes to every city and they give him a deal. He just didn't want anything to do with that. But he played 22 years in the majors, 13-time All-Star, hit 630 homers, first ballot Hall of Famer's got to be, and could have been so much more without injuries, but still phenomenal player. L.O.B.'s Flyers made it right. They beat the Blackhawks in overtime in Game 3 to get the series to 2-1. That's Woods on Sports, man. Very exciting Woods on Sports today. I really hope they give that kid a break. I don't know. I don't know if I want it, though. I just don't know if I want it. Have they talked to him? But if it makes history, wouldn't you want to make history? He did. In my mind, if I'm him, I'm like, I threw a friggin' perfect game. But I mean, even for the sport of baseball, three perfect... Right. You know, a year. You can't. You're going to say to your kid, hey, guys, I threw a perfect game. He did. Did he? Didn't he? Until they say officially it's perfect. You can't say that. It's like this, Woods. It's like every boxing match that's ever taken place where clearly there's a winner, but some jacked up judges scored it. He's going to be like.
He's going to be like Uncle Rico or like Finkel from Ace Ventura and be like, the laces were in. Yeah, yeah. I know. In his mind, he knows he did his job and had a perfect game. We all do. We all do. My heart broke. I couldn't get over it last night. Last night was a rough night at my house, man. Just rough. Baseball gets him so worked up, Woodsy. He can get really worked up from baseball. Big time. You guys know about the scandal going on right now at the White House? Mm-mm. There's a scandal going on at the White House right now. Weird. Well, apparently the White House enlisted the help of Bill Clinton to go and talk to a guy that was going to be running for Senate named Joe... Sestak. Sestak. Yeah. And they wanted... Basically, if I understand this correctly, Sienna, they wanted...
