The now infamous “Woodsy Roast Day” begins as The Kid is nowhere to be found at the start of the show. Is the bromance over? Woodsyisms abound with Mikey, Jay, and the girls. The Kid calls in while speeding down the freeway and has a tense conversation with an irritated Mikey. Woods’ dad, M1 Hawk calls in suggesting harsh punishment. Mikey’s 20 dollar bill story gets a big “eh-HAH!” out of LOB. Hoyle is furious with Woods! All of a sudden, Mikey blasts through a ton of voices aimed at Woodsy and hilarious radio ensues as Lauren and Sienna urge Mike to keep going. The fraidy cat bullfighter story is next; meanwhile The Kid is still tripping out on himself. The earthquake really shook up LOB. A wife is upset about hubby’s hot female boss taking him to lunch all the time and Jay has the funniest solution. A democrat congressman roughs up some college kids, and then apologizes. Woods loves smiling his black-toothed grin. What will Mikey’s three boys be like when they’re older? LOB’s “milky milky milky” taunt used to be kryptonite for her brother, until he wised up. Mikey tells about the time he finally stood up to his bully brother Steve. Sienna sings, then LOB insists she would not be off the hook as easy as Woods was for being late. What makes a tourist in San Diego stand out like a sore thumb? Global warming begs the question; whose smarter, Al Gore or Mikey? DYD has Lauren give it try; high-fivers are dumb, along with Facebook drama seekers. Who would not say hi back to a passerby? The Woods roast continues and Sienna scrambles for news stories while Mikey does his “swiggity swiggity swa’s”. Luke’s sarcastic audio while being rocked to sleep is hilarious. Baby accident stories make Sienna worry, and Jay’s 22 stitches story will make you shudder. It seems all things lead back to Woodsy roast jokes. Eskimo would never share the stage with Steve Winwood. Dave Matthews stops by to jam his own tunes and bag on Woodsy. Asian singer for Journey does some hysterical harmonies!

KBZT San Diego, a Lincoln Financial Media Station. The new home of The Mikey Show, FM 94.9. I bet you are. Always a good thing. Just breathe. Good morning, everybody. It's The Mikey Show. There are four people on The Mikey Show. Myself, Lauren, Sienna, and Jay. What? Our boy Woodsy is not picking up his phone and is not here. M.I.A. Oh, dear. Yeah. Straight to voicemail. Yeah. Straight to voicemail with his wife, Jamie. And I drive the same route that he drives. Didn't see him broken down on the side of the road. My guess overslept. Yeah.
Maybe if he's anything like me, I couldn't sleep after the earthquake because I was a little nauseous. Is that what it is? Maybe. Maybe he's. Maybe he's sick. Maybe he got so scared. Maybe he got so nauseous. He does. You know the kid. Yeah. He likes to do that. Maybe he's staying home because he's nauseous. Oh, my gosh. How about a phone call then? That would be so desirable. My gut says not awake yet. My gut matches your gut. Well, we know. I mean, I've never heard the kid's phone ring. I'm pretty sure it's always on vibrate. Yeah. Have you ever heard it ring? Mm-mm. Mm-mm. So, we've been calling. It's hard to hear that. His whole M.O. is... He doesn't show up on time. He shows up early. Oh, yeah. That is his whole M.O., isn't it? Are you guys proud of how calm I am? Yeah. I'm very proud. I think it's the heat that's keeping it calm. You got flip the soda when you pass it. Today's a double whammy. Oh, that. Today feels weird. Really? Really? Yeah, a little bit. Well, first of all, welcome to Fort Lauderdale, everybody. Does that thermometer say what the temperature is? Let's see. Behind? 84? Yeah. Our air conditioner broke. My shoes are off right now. This is what I came into today. I came into the radio station.
Well, first of all, I got a call from Jay saying Woods isn't here at a quarter to five. And then I got to the station and there's no air conditioner working. And so it's really warm. Yeah, but they have like the heat on. It's 84. It's not the heat. It's the machinery warms everything. That's why they actually have to have... It's so cold in studios because it's so warm with the equipment. It gets so hot. Yeah, I'm not mad at the cold. I'm mad at the heat. You're mad at the heat. I feel some cool air drifting in. I'm mad at the woods. I don't know what to do other than laugh. This is nervous laughter, by the way. I said to Lauren O'Brien that this is why we have
Backups. Backup alarms. This is why we... Oh, I was like, we have a backup Woods? Yeah. His name's Trees. I'm looking across the board right now. Oh, no. Where Woods would usually... It's really weird. And he isn't there. He's not here. I wonder if he sounds like this right now. He's a snorer. But his wife... Did you try calling her? Yeah. Oh, my God. No answer? Straight to voicemail. Oh, no. Because she's usually the one that gets the kid up. Yeah. Well, Mikey said, this is why we have a backup. I said, I thought he did. I thought it was called his wife. Yeah. No, because my wife is sleeping. She's just used to me getting up and doing my thing. And that's what I think that everybody may be used to. Is that Woods? I don't know what that was. You don't know what that was? You don't know, Jay? I don't know what that was. I don't think it was me.
Oh, boy. Ghost in the machine. That's right. It's fantastic. 570-1949 is our number. Or you can text us 949mikey at gmail.com. So that's the latest. Do you guys notice, too, every once in a while it feels like cool air blows in? I was just thinking that right when you said it. No. Right now, I feel like I'm feeling cool air. I feel something. But it only happens for a second. I wish I was in an igloo. I'm so hot. So there you go. Let's see. I know what that noise was. Your computer? Yeah. I have to shut my IMs off. It would be a good thing to do. Nobody ever hits me up on the IM. But I have to shut down the IM. I was searching high and low in here. I'm like, that had to be me. What did I do? No, it was my computer. So there we are. There's a lot of activity going on, and it all started last night. Yeah. Yeah, there was an earthquake last night. I slept right through it. Yeah. Lucky you. I was starting to fall asleep and just dozing off, and then I felt it, and I thought, am I dreaming? What is this? And then Todd came running in. Are you okay? Did you feel that? I'm like, whoa.
I'm going to try to pretend that I'm not completely preoccupied with Woods not being here. But I just want you to know that I'm completely preoccupied with Woods not being here. I can tell for the last half an hour. Just to give you guys an example of how Mike works. If he goes to Starbucks and they aren't open when he gets there, they open five minutes later, Mike's morning is shot. His day is ruined. Because the plan has been offset. Yeah, I forgot my wallet yesterday. Yeah. I had to go home to get it, and it threw me off. Took a long time for you to get over that. Yeah. So what does it feel like when... One of the worst possibilities. Your right-hand man is not sitting across from you come game time. No way. That's what it feels like. It's okay. It feels just like that. You have us. You want me to talk like I'm the kid? Why don't you just get? All right, get. I got two words for you, dude. You're dumb. I guess endless love ended. The bromance is over? No, it's not. Get me out of here. Get me the hell out of here. Too soon, Mike. What is his problem? It's not you, it's him. We wake up very early to try to have his back a little bit. It's difficult at times.
Sounds like somebody's got a case of the Mondays. Sounds like somebody's got a case of the Tuesdays. It's Tuesdays, yeah. But it hasn't happened to any of us yet. What does Woods always say? If it's going to happen to anybody, who's it going to happen to? It's going to happen to the kid. He's having quite a week. Oh, yeah. Yeah, he is. Backed up into someone else's car. Yep. Ticket for turning right on red. Caused an earthquake. Caused an earthquake. I know, ever since he got here, there's been a few more tremblers. Do you think that 10 years from now, we'll be looking back on how hysterical this moment was? I hope so. I think maybe the rest of us will. Maybe not Mike. I'm hurt, sad, and fearful. Mike does not like this. Which is all-encompassing of anger. You're doing a really good job, though. Thank you. You're holding it together. You've got your team. We've got your back. I'm not quite sure what to say to you right now. I know. I'm just trying to make him feel better. If Woods came walking in, would you run and jump into his arms? No. Yeah, right. No. I can tell you what you would do. What would I do? Stare at him with the eyes, and he would be afraid. He wouldn't know what to say because you wouldn't say anything. You would let him talk. I know Woods really good.
And at this moment, I'm not sure what his response to this will be. Panic. As well as I know him, is it going to be just, dude, I'm really sorry, blah, blah, blah. Is it going to be, he could also, I could very well, just look because I thought, is that him? That looks like him. He made a heart stop. It's not him. It's not him. Every time I hear the door close or someone's feet shuffle, I'm like, is that what? I could also see him coming in and giving that look like... No. Are you mad? I'm vomiting. I'm vomiting. I feel so bad. You know me. The kid is never on time. He's always early. I'm going to throw up, dude. I feel like I just ate Indian food. Maki. Maki. Maki, even Jamie, she didn't hear a thing. Didn't go off my alarm. 100%. I set it. 100%. Did you? Set the alarm. Did you? Mikey, 100%. Did you? Mikey. What? Bro. Kid didn't knock it out of the park. Oh, my gosh. Kid didn't knock it out of the park. Is it making it better or worse when we do terrible impressions of one? Maki. Maki.
What's the latest he could wake up? I guarantee if he's not awake now, he'll be waking up any second. Because, I mean, at least with me on the weekends, I have that natural alarm clock that goes off. That should have gone off for him. He slept till like nine this past week. Did anybody talk to him? No, we all tried. I talked to him in a text message at about eight. 30. Oh, last night. Yeah, but then I got on Facebook, as anyone would, after they got scared of an earthquake to see if everybody else was scared, too. And he was like, oh, man, that just woke me up at about 9.30. Door just opened. Oh, my gosh. Engineers. Help with the heat. Hi, guys. Help with the heat. Hey, did you hear what the other deal is? What about? No woods. No. It's a nice little treat. Let me go right up and get him out of bed. Yeah. Yeah, that's not a bad idea. Percentage of chance he's going to come in in pajamas. Unshowered. 100%. I can't imagine. Oh, Jeremy, let's put you on the mic. Jeremy on sports? This is kind of a comfortable seat here. Jeremy is one of our engineers. You know about sports? No. I've been out of town for the last couple of days. It's been pre-wedding party stuff. Welcome back. It's feeling cooler. Did you fix the thing?
Bill is working magic right now. It feels good. You can get used to this seat, huh? Yeah, I can get used to this. This is nice. I think he fixed it because it instantly feels cooler. It does. It feels much better. I hope. Oh, it's so nice. Oh, boy. It feels good. You guys. You guys got it. What a morning, hey? Thank you, man. You know, if we can make one thing right, we'll make it right. Thank you. Can you guys make a woods? You want me to make a cardboard cutout of him? If anyone could. Yeah, can you build a man? We'll build a machine. M1 Michael from La Jolla. Hi. Morning. Good morning. Hey, maybe this is what Woods does just to get attention. Maybe he needs some extra attention today. Yeah. He gets plenty of attention. Let me tell you, as well as I know Woods, and as well as Woods knows me, this is not him trying to get attention. He's terrified right now. It's exactly the wrong kind of attention. He wouldn't risk it. I know. I can't imagine the feeling he's going to feel when he wakes up if he hasn't already. I'm dead. I'm dead. I lost my job. Back to Texas. Here we go, Jamie. We don't have any windows in here. Is it light out right now? No. Because every time, if I take a nap during the day, every time I wake up and it's light out, I have a 30-second like...
And I think it's the next day, and I think I overslept, and I think I'm fired, and I have nightmares about it. Yeah. It's a scary feeling. He's going to... The hotline's ringing. Oh. Get it and see if it's him. Oh, my gosh. Jay. I'm so nervous right now. Oh, boy. You're doing good, Mike. I'm just going to keep telling you that. Yeah, we'll just... Keep your chin up. Is it? Is it? He's hanging with the phone. He's hanging up? Oh, gosh. Wasn't it him? Or was it him? Jay? Wasn't it? Jay? Jay, Jay. It's him? Hi, pumpkin. What happened? Don't do that. Be careful. Now cops are going to go pull over to Santa Fe. Don't do that. Drive normal. I woke up. My alarm is flashing. Jamie is passed out. Holy crap. Don't say anything bad.
What did you do? What did you do? Go out and have a bender? Last night with speed balls. No, I went to sleep at 8.30. I woke up with the earthquake, and she took an Ambien, and then her phone started blowing up, and I think she turned her phone on. She's my backup. This is perfect. Perfect week for the kid, dude. You don't have a backup? Yeah, I had my alarm and her phone, which was my backup, and she turned her phone on. What happened to your alarm? My alarm was flashing. I guess we had a power surge or something. I don't know. Oh, gosh. That's funny because I live right around the corner from you and I didn't have a power surge. Maybe from the earthquake? It could be. Maybe your electricity is perfect. Mine's not. But I woke up and that thing was flashing. Say again. Maybe your electricity is perfect. Maybe you say sorry. Maybe mine is perfect. That's a good theory, Steve.
Steve? That's a good theory. Steven? Yeah. Yeah, maybe mine is perfect, and it worked right around the corner. Could be. What about batteries, Woods? No batteries in mine. Woods, we're on the air right now. Remember when... You're not sitting next to me. Remember when I said we should probably all have one of those alarm clocks that has batteries in them? I don't remember that at all. Well, the important thing is you're okay. Yes. I'm shaking right now. Other than that, everything's great. Did you shower this morning? No, I didn't shower. I woke up seven minutes ago. Did you brush your teeth? No. Hey, don't get in an accident speeding here. Just tell them it's going to be okay, Mike. Drive normal. Don't speed. Just tell me it's going to be okay. So there's no sports, right?
Oh, gosh. What? No sports, right? I mean, yeah, I can get some sports done when I get in. Oh! Sports is at 630, Woods. Yeah, maybe we push it back a little bit, but I can get some sports in for everybody. All right. During commercial, I can look around. Maybe we do sports. Oh, my God. You're just blasting cigs right now? No. How many cigs have you had? How come it sounded like I just heard you go... No, I'm not blasting any cigs. I'm shaking. I'm about to cry. Really? Cry. You are not about to cry. I'm never late, ever. Well, that's not true because never means... Never. Not this time. Never. Never this time. Never excludes all times. Right. And so you are now, sometimes you are late. No. One time late. Sometimes. Sometimes you are late. Yeah. Because sometimes encompasses...
It's happened. Yes, once. I've only asked. I said there's one thing. There's one thing. You should be. There's one thing. Not joking. I'm sorry. There's one thing. It's the first apology I've heard. Yeah, it's the first one. No, yes, I apologized 45 seconds ago. You did? Woods, I'm giving him a hard time, but seriously. What you hear is me chewing my nails as I'm driving. Oh, boy. Did you vomit this morning? No, almost. And you didn't brush your teeth and you didn't take a shower. What are you wearing? No brush, no teeth. I'm in jeans, no underwear, and a t-shirt. Oh, perfect. I didn't ask if you're wearing underwear or not. What were your first words when you woke up this morning? Don't say your first words when you woke up. I'm not going to say them, but I can give you the initials. Oh, boy. No, I don't want them. I don't want them. How afraid was Jamie when she woke up this morning to you screaming? You should have seen her. Like, running downstairs, getting my bag. Like throwing all my stuff in it. I have no idea. I may not even have my laptop. I have no idea. You don't have your laptop? This is the thing about what? I may not even have my laptop. Jamie packs his bag for him. And so he does it like he said. Did Jamie put my highlighter in here? Oh, boy. Did Jamie make it right? Breathe. It's okay. If he doesn't have his laptop, he can borrow mine. It's fine. We're a team. We're a team. There's no idea. We're going to pick up the pieces here. How long does it usually take you to get here?
In the morning when there's no traffic? No, at night. At 10 o'clock at night, how long does it take? No, I'm sure there's not traffic now either. Oh, boy, oh, boy. Is there traffic? Oh, boy, yeah, there's a little traffic. Oh, boy. Perfect. This is great. Maybe you ought to stop by Starbucks or something and bring some in. Yeah, can I bring you guys any breakfast or anything, Mike? Do you have to stop to get any snuff? Mike, can I bring you anything? He's, uh... Robes. New robes? He's drinking some water right now. Yeah, you don't realize that it's a sauna in our studio right now. That's one thing you're missing. Is it really? It's 84 degrees in here. We're doing yoga. It's getting cooler. They fixed the air conditioning. Mikey, can I bring you anything? Oh, gosh. Yourself? Yeah, how about you show up? Yeah. How about a six-foot-tall Texan? Oh, yeah. I can dig one of those up. Oh, gosh. Can you write that down, Lauren? Okay, that back of Mikey. Six-foot-tall Texan. I know, I know, I know, I know. It's all right. It's okay. Dude, listen, listen, listen, listen, listen. I forgive you. I'm just, I'm just disappointed. That was like dad just telling you the worst. I would rather you yell at me actually than be disappointed in me. That was a dad bit. Holy crap, you guys. Well, it's okay. All right, come on in with you. It's going to be okay.
Just get in here. Bye. See you soon. Be careful. Mike, you have been completely expressionless all morning. See, here's my thing. And then I'm not going to beliger the point. Okay. My deal is, is that like, okay, I'll give you a for instance. When Woodsy bought his laptop, I said, he bought a, I go, hey. Maybe you should get another power supply for it. And he goes, why? It comes with one. And I said, well, because you might want to have one at work so that one always stays at work. He goes, dude, I could bring mom with me. Take it home when I'm done. And I said, okay, I'm not going to be daddy, you know, and tell him what to do. Okay. A month? We were here a month? Dang it. Forgot my cord at home. Of course he did. So what did he do? He had to leave and go home and get it. Well, first he used yours. No, no, he used mine. And overheated yours. Yeah, he overheated mine. So my deal is that maybe if I make a suggestion from a couple of years of experience with it, he goes, okay, because I said, if you get one of those alarm clocks.
You know those alarm clocks? Yeah. Get the kind with a battery in it because it'll back up. Yeah. Maybe you take your phone off vibrate when you're off the air and then you would have heard a phone ring when we were calling you all morning. M1 Knocker from Temecula. What's going on, Joe? What up? I'm just feeling for our boy Woods right now, man. Just as he was talking, I'm sitting here getting sick to my stomach for him. How bad? I mean, that's a bad feeling he's feeling right now. This is the absolute worst feeling. I'm like Woods. I'm, well, sometimes never late. You know, here's the deal, Knocker, is that I have my little things. I have my little pet peeves. And so if this weren't one of my little pet peeves, I'd be like, eh, whatever. And I'm, you know, as it is, oh, well, it's 625. He'll be here pretty soon. At least you know where he is. I know where he is. I know he's all right. It's not that big a deal. It's just that this is my hot button. Yep. That's my hot button. Yeah. Oh, guess who's on the line? Thank you for calling. Guess who's on the line? Who? What's his dad? Oh, boy. M1 Hawk. Oh, gosh. Hi, M1 Hawk. Hi, everyone. Hi. Oh, he's disappointed. You know what? Disappointment doesn't even...
Isn't even close. I mean, to rule at the station, he should be prosecuted to the full extent. Oh, boy. Yeah, well, I don't know what I'm going to... You've been punishing him for years. Do you have any recommendations? Well, you know, he's always rowed his own boat, which is tough. But sometimes you've got to teach him a lesson. I mean, you're perfectly within your rights to do and act. however you see fit in this one. Make him sleep at the station. That's a fair one. My deal, M1 Hawk, is that it just isn't going to... It's not going to solve the problem. I'm fairly confident it's not going to happen again. My disappointment stems from, you know, come on, brother. Help me out. I'm on the planet and...
That's what we talked about. Don't screw it up. I mean, you owe a lot to Mikey and the rest of the crew. You got to be responsible. You got to do your thing. Let me say this. And you know this, M1 Hawk. This is Woodsy's dad who's listening on the Internet and calling in on the Internet. You know this as well as I do. The very things that make your son the incredible guy that he is are the very things that sometimes get him in trouble. Yeah. Absolutely. He's got a lot of passion. But as you said, that can that could be definitely trouble at times. He is. He is easily at what he does. And I don't say this lightly because I've heard a lot of people on the radio and I've told Woodsy this privately. Woodsy is at his position the most dynamic guy I've ever heard on the radio in terms of what he is as a personality. Yeah, he's just he's. All he can be is himself. And he is extremely dynamic. And part of it is because he's so wacky. He's just wired in a very unique and funny and charismatic and dynamic. But he lives by the seat of his pants. Thanks, man. The kid doesn't hold back. There's no question. Like you said, it's been difficult. He's...
He makes you laugh and he makes you cry. Yeah. That's our boy. That's our boy, Woodsy. But I love him. I wouldn't trade him for anything, but he better get his butt in here. He will. I love him, too. I don't know about the trade. I'd be open to trade. You'll be willing to hear offers. Let's upgrade to another Woods. Can you imagine? Or something might do the trick. Thank you. Thank you, M1 Hawk. All righty, guys. Appreciate it. Hey, bye. I'm supposed to be breaking right now, but I don't want to. Oh, boy. I know. I know. I will any moment. But I want to take this call from M1 Detroit. M1 Detroit is calling in and would like to confirm Woods' excuse. And I'd be very happy to hear how he will do that. Are you there, M1 Detroit? I am here. How are you doing this morning? Good. Are you from Detroit? I am from Detroit. Wow. How can you confirm his excuse? Last night, something kind of weird happened to my wife and I as we were getting into bed. And we were laying there. And all of a sudden, this eerie music comes on. Because my radio is set to 94.9. And I guess late at night, you guys put on...
The chill songs. So all of a sudden this eerie music comes on while we are laying there. And I'm like, what just happened? Why did my radio turn on? And so I almost think like a power surge or something happened to cause the radio to turn on. Do you have a battery backup in your clock? I don't know. My wife might have one in there. Yeah. All right. Well, thank you, Detroit. I appreciate it. I appreciate it. Detroit. Detroit. Got to have the battery back up. Yeah. Jay's picking the music today. Band of Skulls, Light of the Morning, Woodsy on his way in. Still haven't told you about the latest with Vandersloot and Vandersloot's attorney. Big news there. Personally, LaJoyalasic.com. Hi there, I'm Seth, founder of Honest Tea. You know, most beverage companies keep their formulas a secret. We're not like most companies. So grab a pen, because here's the recipe for our best-selling bottled tea. First, pick two grams of organic green tea leaves grown in mountainous soil without any pesticides. Tea bushes don't need chemicals, and neither do you. Steep them in a cup of 190-degree purified water for exactly four minutes. Next, add about a teaspoon each of organic cane sugar and honey. We use organic honey from hives at least two miles away from any pollution source because those bees get around. And that's why our honey green tea tastes better than all those sugary tea drinks out there. If this sounds too hard, just buy a bottle of Honest Tea. We've done all the work. So all you have to do is drink it. Honest Tea. Nature got it right. We put it in a bottle. My next guest is Steve Woods, who just showed up to the studio. I miss Amy. First half hour of the show. Yeah. You missed the first half hour of the show. It's usually the best one. That was fun. Did you hear your dad? Yeah, of course I heard my dad. And one hawk? Yeah, a bus just ran me over outside. Really? You're saying you got thrown under the bus? Yeah. Maybe we'll get my grandmother on the line. See how she feels about it. If you're just tuning in, Woods overslept. Sure did. He just walked in like 45 seconds ago.
Looking real fresh. Yeah, feeling real fresh. Haven't brushed my teeth, haven't filed papers, nothing. Looking like a daisy. Haven't eaten anything to throw up. M1 Mustang from Santini. What's going on, Mikey? What delightful. Really? Well, you know, I've been a supervisor in an aerospace machine shop quite a few years, off and on. And I'm completely with you. Being late, it just shows a complete disrespect. I mean, I fired guys for being two and three minutes late. Oh, see you later. Oh. Yeah, I'm not going to fire Woodsy. You know, but it wouldn't happen on the first time. I'm talking, you know, a couple of, you know, three, four times, basically showing disrespect, that type of stuff. But, you know, I was taught growing up to be early is to be on time. To be on time is to be late, and to be late is inexcusable. That's my bit, too. Unfortunately, it doesn't really stand up today. It was your bit.
That was my bit. I got to say that Woods is always on time. No, you can't say always, Jay. Except for today. Let me just tell you. If the guy is going to be a few minutes late, he texts me. And that's why this morning when it started to go south for Woods, I was like, what is going on? And I knew something was up. Can I bring the garbage pail over here? When I was 18, I had the op. No, I wasn't even 18. I was 17. had the opportunity to work for a radio station that operated from a satellite way before satellite radio. And they operated on satellite. Amazing opportunity. I don't even know how I found out about it, but I had an interview with this guy. And I showed up to this interview three minutes late. And the guy gave me a $20 bill. And he said, this $20 bill. represents the last time that you'll ever be late to an interview because I'm not going to hire you or talk to you. Wow. Wow. And I'm telling you, that had such a dramatic impact on my life. Are you going to give Woods a $20 bill? No. No, I'm not. He's going to give me something. What are you going to give him? Tongue lashing.
No, I mean, right. I mean, I talked to your dad. What's the point, right? What's the point? You probably won't ever do it again. Really? I'm going to have 15 alarms in my room from now on. Dude, but here's the thing. Like the battery, I totally get. I didn't have one. People kept calling and Facebooking last night on Jamie's phone. And she took an Ambien and was, you know, scared to death. It was her first earthquake. So she turned. I was like, hey, turn your phone off. It's like because it woke us up. I was literally asleep when it started to shake. And I was like, turn your phone off. I'll be fine. No, not fine. Not fine at all. M1 Stafford from Vista? Yes, sir. Hi. How are you, Mikey? Wonderful. Are you? Am I? Am I? I don't know. Are you? I mean, am I? My sports guy was totally late to work this morning. Yeah. And my sports guy was late to work this morning. Absolutely.
In fact, I think I have a remedy for that. Yeah? Yeah, I would like to apply for the position. Yeah! Maybe you get, pal. How about that? Let's hear it. What happened in sports yesterday? Does that make you nervous, Woods? Yes, it makes you nervous. Why? Because you don't have any sports prepared? Should I guess? Let's see if he can do a story. 100% I can. Who are you talking to? I'm at the caller. Oh. So we got some sports and stuff that we're going to be talking about today. Probably later in the show. The Lakers are playing. What happened to the Padres? No idea. I was asleep. Blue Jays won. Did they? They were leading when I fell asleep, and then I had heard that the Blue Jays players got all scared when the earthquake hit, and the Padres players were laughing. And that's Woods on Sports, pal. Maybe you shouldn't throw a pal in there just yet. Kid's being very confident right now. Be yourself. I'm not being confident. I'm shaking right now. You are. Look at my hand. Look at my hand. That's from the nicotine. No, it's not. Look at my hand. It's because you don't have the patch. Look at my hand. It's because you don't have any snuff this morning. I have snuff. Yeah. Well. Maybe I'll just take it to the house, come back tomorrow, start fresh, shut down the engines, get it back to neutral. We still have a long time to go. Oh, boy. I told you, Mikey. I told you he's going to do it.
Did you, Hoyle? I did. Oh, Hoyle. I said, tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock. Kid's a time bomb. Is he... Sorry, are you sleepy? No, I'm not sleepy. I thought you just yawned. I didn't yawn. I went... I told him. I said, tick-tock, tick-tock. I said, he's a ticking time bomb. You never know. Is he Hoyle? Yeah, is he really Hoyle? I don't think that's very fair, Hoyle. I think that you should give him... A chance. Several chances. Well, I don't. I'm mad. This is like Mikey's alter ego. Yeah, Mikey's alter ego is really going to rip me one. Hoyle, I feel okay about it. I mean, he's, you know what? It's over. It ain't over. What are you going to do, Hoyle? I'm going to tell him what a dum-dum he is. A dum-dum. We're not putting the battery in with air. Mikey told him to. Mikey said, didn't you, Mikey? Didn't you say?
Didn't you say, Mike? Yeah, well, I did. But why don't you take it easy on the kid? Oh, boy. Really? I have a feeling this is going to be a four-hour roast. I'm sorry, three-and-a-half-hour roast. Look at the bright side. What's the bright side? You've been here for ten minutes. Uh-huh. Mike's already joking about it. Yeah. You think anybody else would get that special treatment? Oh, really? Oh, really? Lauren and I would be. crying, and Mike wouldn't be looking at us. Really? Yes! You certainly wouldn't be going into characters five minutes after the arrival. I'm going to go by 12 alarm clocks after the arrival. How did this turn into something about you guys? Because we're just proving that love is endless. Oh, really, Handheart? It's certainly endless. Really, Handheart? The bromance is strong. Let's put it this way. I'm never ready for the end of the show, ever. I never want the 10 o'clock to come. I really don't want 10 o'clock to come today. Because then you have to talk. Yeah, I got a private meeting, I'm sure. Probably me, Mikey, Rick, Garrett, the whole thing. It's going to be great. Cry me a river. Oh, boy. You tell him Justin Timberlake. Hoyle will be there, too. Hoyle will be in there. You bet I will. Pitching a fit. Hoyle woke up on time. He's here at work. Yep. You don't even work here. Hoyle wasn't 45 minutes late to work today, was he? Are you talking about yourself in the third person now, Hoyle? Yeah, I am. Maybe Hoyle is doing that.
Maybe Hoyle is speaking in third person. Trying to replace the kid. All three of me woke up on time. Maybe Hoyle and Hoyle and Hoyle have batteries in their little alarm clock. Maybe. Well, I'm not that upset at him, Hoyle. Well, I am. Weird. Same person. How's Frank you feel about it? Yeah, what's Frank you think? I don't know, dude. I think you probably should have put a battery in that alarm. Probably would have been a good idea. Really, Frank? You usually have my back. This is someone from the past, and even I think you should have done it. What about Neil Diamond? What the hell's the matter with you, kid? Sorry, Neil. Battery in your alarm clock. Sorry. Smoking horse pills or something? What obese Mikey thinks about it? I think I would have even eaten my way into waking up. President Obama? Why don't you put a little extra precaution? Make sure you wake up. What does Schwarzenegger say? Yeah, you're so dumb. You should have put in some batteries in your alarm clock, you dummy. How about tattoo? Even a machine can wake up on time.
What about tattoo? Yeah, maybe you'll do that, right? I don't know. Maybe Mikey mentions it 50,000 times. Eventually, you're like, I will put something in my alarm. What would Bill Clinton say right now? I would say that even the dumbest interns figure out how to put a stupid battery in their alarm clock. And really, North Turner has to get involved? Yeah, I tell guys all the time, I say, you fellas, don't even worry about nickel defense. Just put a battery in your alarm clock. That's all I say. Maybe I get some batteries today. What would Maggie Grills say? I would say that you've always got to be prepared. And that means always having some sort of backup. I tell, it's the number one rule of stupidity surviving. Is to not have a backup plan. I had a backup. She was sleeping next to me. A human being cannot be a backup. Everyone knows this. Everyone knows that the most reliable backup is an ever-ready battery. To be prepared to work in the event that your wife has taken an ambience and fallen into a deep, deep sleep. Oh, gosh. My head hurts. I want to go home. M1 Jr. from Carlsbad. How are you doing? Hey, good morning, guys. Good morning. It's a great morning. Yeah.
Spectacular. Hey, I just want to say thank you guys so very much. I had surgery last week on my shoulder. Could have slept in every morning so far, but I've been up every morning at 6 o'clock. Wow. Just to listen to you guys every morning. That's cool, Junior. That's so rad. Sounds like you're waking up before Woods is. Oh, boy. Really? Maybe you call Woods in the morning. That's good. I have my notes here. If you guys want to know about sports, the World Cup, Japan, they won their first World Cup game out of Japan in their history. That's fantastic. Should we cue the music? Yeah. So, you know, I just want to thank you again. It's been spectacular. Thank you. It's been on sports. Thank you. Yeah. Thank you. All right, guys. Thank you. I love how our listeners have my back. Our listener there that just had surgery a few weeks ago gave three more stories than Woods did. M1 Jackson from Santo. What's up? I'm going to wake up on time. There's no waking up on time if you have nowhere to be. On time for the show. Is Woods reaching that point?
Is he reaching that point where he turns like he's like, ah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what? Roast, roast, roast, roast, roast. Yeah, but he can't get mad today. He can't get too mad, right? He's got to accept it. He has to accept it. I never take it. We'll get to some of this news, maybe. Maybe we'll get some Indian food in here. That's what JoJo's calling to say. M1 JoJo, you there? Yeah, I'm here. Right? That's what I think. I don't know how serious the repercussions have to be, but I think Indian food would be a real good way out. Absolutely not. Hey, Woodsy, why don't we do that? Why don't we do something where, you know, we just call it clean. Okay, we'll wipe this thing clean, but you can't ever bring it up.
Ever. Okay, see, there you go. He won't do it. He won't do it. I won't do that. You want it in your utility belt. I won't do that. Oh, absolutely. You want that as a little bullet in your gun. If we were like, let's shave all your body hair off and have you run in a Speedo down Friars and Frisee, I wouldn't do that if it meant that I could never bring this up again. Well, then why would I ever? I'll just take the heat, I guess. Yeah. I'm taking the heat right now, yeah. Thank you, JoJo. Oh, please, though. I mean, Sienna and I would not get jokes. Yes, you would. 1,000%. We would get Manson lamps. Oh, I'm going to get the Manson lamps. And what you guys don't get. You don't think that he got Manson lamps for me? My. Not like we would have. When I walked in, he was shooting me a look. And he looked like freaking De Niro in Goodfellas looking at me like, I'm going to kill you. Well, of course. He's mad. Well, no, I get it. You guys, you ladies think that I would be. matter at you. Yes. Oh, yeah. Mike, here's the difference. You guys want to know what the difference is? And this is the God's honest truth. Endless love. You guys go out to dinner every night. No, no, I'm not. I promise it's not going to make them mad. Listen, you guys would get, he'd pull you in the office, he'd give you the scolding, and it would be over. You know what I'm going to get? I'm going to get the scolding. I'm going to get the lunchtime.
And then I'm going to get when we get home today. And I'm going to get the call at like 6. And then I'm going to get tomorrow morning. You awake? You going to make it to work today? Do I need to come pick you up? I'm going to get that bit. Now, I will say that he's 100% correct. Yes. But when I call at 6, that won't be the reason. I'll just find a way to work it into the conversation. Absolutely. But I'm fully assuming that. I'll be crying later, and he's going to have to take me to lunch, and then we're going. You guys will be crying in each other's arms. The difference is Mike will be able to joke about it with you, and he wouldn't be able to joke about it with us. In front of you guys. In front of you guys, he will. He's going to be serious at a time because he needs to be. Absolutely. But what I'm saying is it's going to go until 2014. With you guys. He's not going to stop after 2014. You know what? I think that we can, it can be done. By then? No, no, no. I think we can have it be done now. Right. But I know for sure this is like a historic moment that will come up over the years. Oh, it's going to be great. It's going to be a benchmark. I'm going to love it. Pull the woodsy? Yeah. Poop the bed. It'll come up tomorrow. Pull the woodsy. Maybe the day after that. Gosh, I wish I saw your face when you woke up. You have no idea. It was like the covers went back.
curse words like you wouldn't believe. And I'm pulling on jeans and socks and shoes at the same time. I'm running downstairs screaming. Oh, gosh. Where's my bag? And she's down there and she looks like Medusa. Her hair is like all up and she's in an ambient coma. I'm like, oh, my gosh, I'm dead. Percentage of chance. This gets blamed on Jamie. Oh, no, no, no. No way. I talked to her. 87.4. No, I talked to her. She's like, why did you wake me up? No, she was like, I'm so sorry. Thanks, dear. Yeah, I was like, she's like, I'm so sorry. I'm like, it's not your fault. I can't believe she got up and was getting your stuff together for you. Oh, of course. Oh, my God. That woman is insane. I didn't have a choice if I screamed. I know. Arcade Fire neighborhood number three is the name of the song. The dogs are running over handing him shoes. Crazy. We have a lot of material. And I'm just talking about what Woods did. But. Besides what Woods did, you probably heard about Vince Young getting into his physical altercation at the strip club. We did. Maybe not Woods. Oh, boy. We have his apology to teammates, and I'll play that for you next. We have earthquake tips for you. Get a battery for your alarm. That's a great earthquake tip. We got a lot of stuff. Don't go away. I go, well, where are you, dude? And he goes, well, I'm about to be right on time. I go, no, dude, if you're on time, you're late. And he goes, well, then I guess I'm late. And I go, okay. Really? Did you guys have that conversation? Yeah, we did. Remember that? Yeah.
And Woods, I guess he picked this time to point out to me what a hypocrite I am. No, that's not what I was saying. To show up late to work. No, he was just trying to say that, like. I was saying that that's my bit. Color me. He was saying. Hypocritical, you know. He was saying. Oh, my. Here it was Saturday night, and look who's talking here. Yeah. I mean, I was just late Saturday night, and yet I still have the rocks. I think he was saying. That's not what I meant. Sometimes your work life carries into your love life, and sometimes your love life carries into your work life. I think that's all he was saying. Really? Really? I was saying that that's my bit. I can't believe you called him because he was three minutes late. Mm-hmm. That's ridiculous. I'm constantly three minutes late. To a dinner. We know. That's right. Showed up here on time. Big timer. Wow. I hate everybody. I was early today. Were you? No, I was on time. I hate everyone. Here's Vince Young, quarterback of the Tennessee Titans. He got into a physical altercation at a strip club in Dallas. Would you get this clip ready for you? No! Holy cow. That is good. You gotta hand it to her. Two hours and 55 minutes. You have got to hand it to her.
I don't have to hand anything to anybody except my resignation. That was pretty good. Don't push it, kid. So here he is after getting into a physical altercation at a strip club in Dallas. Here's Vince Young apologizing to his teammates over the misdemeanor. You know, I don't really want to get all into it, you know, but like I said, I made a mistake. Like I told my teammates earlier, I apologize to them, as well as the organization, you know, all my fans and especially my family and people that look up to me. I made a big mistake about even being out there. But at the same time, you know, it is what it is. It's past. It's over with. Now I'm letting my legal folks in the process. Go on about it and let them take care of that right now. Right now, I'm just playing football. I pray to God that Rosadale don't come hard on me because I definitely want to be here for my teammates. Like right now, we got a team goal right now. We want to finish the season like we want in Dallas in the Super Bowl. So right now, like I see many days, I still had a good practice, got back to work, and that's all I'm looking forward to right now is just leading my teammates back to where we need to be at. I hear you, Vince. I hear you loud and clear, pal. Woodsy's on board with that. With everything he said.
I love you, Vince. I forgive you. I love you guys. I apologize. And I just, you know, I hope Garrett and Rick and Mikey don't come down too hard on me. You know, I just really want to be here to help my team get through. You know, we've got a goal. Yeah. And our goal is to be number one. That's right. And, you know, I don't want to let anything like this stand in the way. Now, go ahead, dude. Keep digging yourself a bigger hole, bro. Really? Why don't you tell everybody about the real reason you were late? What was that? Buying me beer. Exactly. At 6 a.m.? I'm just a child, bro. I can't even believe that you would have the audacity to do so. You ask me, dude. I like to help my friends out. Real good. You're going to pay for this one. Oh, I know. As sure as my name is Kendall Benurchiner. I don't even know your middle name. That's my name, dude. He didn't even know his first name. No, he doesn't. He's going through an identity crisis. Kendall Benerchener. Several identity crises. Benerchener. That's right, man. All I know is maybe I forget my name, but I don't forget to put batteries in my alarm clock. That was powerful. It's like a pterodactyl. Just flew right into the studio. This text from M1 Tank says, Mikey.
I loved when you were doing all the voices. Yeah, it was good. I hope that you do that more. P.S. I got my battery and my alarm. Am I hired? Perfect. Can you do sports? P.S. I bet you Sean would never be late. Where is Sean, man? Really? I miss him. Probably washing his hands somewhere. Eating a hoagie, washing his hands. He's probably at work well prepared. Well, the reason that he would be able to be awake and washing those hands is because that alarm clock went off. Yeah, I know. That's why. I miss Sean. I miss him a lot. You don't even know Sean. I've never even met Sean. Clown. He's a good guy. Let's see. Oh, do you guys hear about the bullfighter? This is actually a pretty interesting story. We're going to do Dude, You're Dumb pretty soon. Oh, yeah. Are you ready for that one? Are you ready to do that? Sure. Do you have it? Yeah. Do you really? As far as you know. Okay. Oh, gosh. Super. Oh, dear. Dude, you're dumb as that guy. No, no. I mean that guy right there. No, no, no. Tell us about the bullfighter. This happened in Mexico City. His name is Christian Hernandez. Yeah. And he walks into Plaza, Mexico. Yeah. He's going to do a little bullfighting. Yeah. What happens when the bull comes running towards him? You mess with the bull. You get the horns. Well, you do. Yeah. Bull came running towards him.
And he said, ole, and he put his little red towel out. No. No? He threw his towel down and he ran. No way. And he jumped over the wall and bailed. For real? For real. There's video all over the place. Do they have his name there? What is it? Christian Hernandez. Christian Hernandez. Christian Hernandez. I wonder if that's ever happened. That's got to be the most embarrassing thing for a bullfighter to have happen is for him to chicken out. Yeah, well. Poor guy. Everyone's calling him the cowardly bullfighter. Yeah, because in Mexico, you know, it's such an honor to be a bullfighter. I should know. I'm sure you really get a rap about you if you jump over the wall. Yeah, he's 22. He's a young kid. He was just interviewed on TV, and he said, there are some things you must be aware of about yourself. I didn't have the ability. I didn't have the balls. This is not my thing. But didn't he train for it with real bulls? How do you really train? You can't stop tripping out, right? You haven't heard a word of it. You're still in trip out land. Chewing his straw, his headphone cord. I look over at Woods right now, and he's just in trip out mode. It's like he's not hearing anything. Spinning out of orbit. To have this kid's back a little bit, not the kid next to me, but the kid, the matador. I hate this so much.
He had been gored in the leg like a few months before by a bull. So, you know, he was a little scurred. Well. Don't be scurred. Can't be scurred because that's your job, you know. That's your bullfighter. Like maybe once he was scared to wake up this morning. I was very scared. Good job, though. I should have just called in sick. Oh, that would have been real good. Well, somebody said that maybe you were nauseous from the earthquake. I did get a little nauseous after the earthquake, but. I kind of got lightheaded. I got nauseous. I walked around. I kind of felt like I was swaying a little bit. Yeah. But then everyone's like, I bet your dog's flipped out. Our dog didn't even move. Really? They did not even flinch. Neither did my dog. I heard because I heard when an earthquake happens, dogs can sense it before we can. How do they know things like that? I don't know. But they'll start freaking out before the quake. Yeah. And we're sitting there and my wife is like, was that you? I was like, that wasn't me. That was an earthquake. And it just shook the crap out of our house. Yeah. Probably knocked the plug right out of my alarm. Yeah. I wouldn't be making jokes. That's all I know. That's all I know how to do. I'm uncomfortable. That's all I know how to do. That one didn't go over too well with Fabi. Hey, I'm going to keep throwing them out there. Eventually I'm going to hit one out of the park. Yeah, one of them will stick. Maybe just feed off of him. Nah. Yeah, okay. Maybe just take my cues. Yep. Really.
No, it's fine. Hey, you know what? It's over and it happened and now Woodsy will never do it again. Never again. Right, Woods? You know that. Maybe we all call you every morning. Never say never. You don't have to call me. You don't ever have to call me. Make sure you're awake. I'll be here. We don't ever have to call you? No, I'll be here. How many missed calls did you have this morning? A lot. 30? Yeah, I called a lot. Yeah, I know you did. We all did. Text. Email. If you're just tuning in, Woodsy did not show up to his job at FM 94.9 today. I did because I'm here. Radio station. Usually strolls in about 4.30, not 6.30. Yep. Yeah, got him about 6.30 today. A little bit behind. Yeah, sometimes it happens. Sometimes you're like, hey, you know what? Most highly rated morning show in San Diego? Maybe not. Maybe not today. Maybe not today. Tomorrow. I have to eat some sugar to make up for the kid not being dynamic. Yeah. Yeah, I can't be dynamic today. Just FYI. You can be dynamic. Have some sugar. You're already dynamic, kid. Yeah, you're fine. You're going to do great. Yeah, I feel it. I feel the love just emanating from everyone in the room and the callers and the Facebookers and the texters, the whole thing. See, now you're turning me. Now you're getting me on your side. Now I feel bad. Yeah, me too. We kid because we love. Yeah, was that right? Because we love. Yeah. Is that right?
Yeah. If you did feel the earthquake last night, though, just to let people know it was a 5.7. Let me ask you guys this. Weren't you guys worried that I was in a ditch somewhere? Yeah, that was the first thing. But then I said, I take the same route to work that you take to work, and I didn't see no woodsy broken down the center. Yeah, but what if I had jumped off, flew off a cliff, and I was in an ER somewhere? There was a little bit of me. Did you guys have been cracking jokes then? No. There was a little bit of me. I didn't crack any jokes until you called. Really? I didn't. No, it was just worry. I was the silent... Assassin? Yes. Mikey was pale. It's a big deal for him. Yeah, it is. And expressionless. And I was nervous laughing. We're preparing for the show and Lauren and I keep looking at each other like, this is so uncomfortable. I'm so sorry to put you guys through that. It was awful. Trust me. 570-1949. 949mikey at gmail.com. We got a... email the other day and I told Jay, call this guy or write this guy and see if he'll call in and talk about this on the air. His name is M1 Chaz and Jay got him to call in. Tell a story. You there, Chaz? I'm here. Chaz, tell us what you wrote us an email about. Basically, my boss keeps asking me to go out to lunch with her.
and it's making my wife a bit uncomfortable. It's making your life or your wife uncomfortable? My wife. Your wife. Well, kind of both. Do you have a hot boss? Yeah, do you have a hot boss? I mean, she's cute, but I'm not interested. I'm married. Cute is bad enough. It's not like she's not being flirty at all, but still, the rumor mills are churning, and I'm beginning to get a little nervous. as to where this is going. Well, when you go to lunch, is it professional? Yeah, it's professional, but, you know, there's still some personal talk, and she'll tell me things about her life and stuff that may be, like, inappropriate for the workplace or for a boss to do with an employee, so... What is the reason for the lunches? I have no idea. She always just asks if I want to go to lunch. There's no, like... We don't really talk business. We just talk as if we were friends. She's fine, but I'm just starting to get uncomfortable and wondering where it's going. Does she hit on you? Not really. I mean, she hasn't really been flirty, but like I said, people are starting to talk. Yep. So I'm trying to figure out the nicest way to say no to her, but it's hard because she's my boss. Is she single?
Yeah, she's single. She's divorced once. I would not like that if I was your wife. I got a suggestion if anybody would care to hear it. Yeah, Woodsy, I would love to. What is it, sleepyhead? One thing I did at my last job, there was... FM 94.9? No. Just kidding. It was a joke. It was a joke. Holy shit. What's the matter with you people? I was joking. I mean, come on. It was a joke. Don't you know a joke when you're here? Goodness, calm down. At my previous job, what I used to do is I used to go work out at lunch. And so you could tell her, hey, listen, I've just got a new deal. I'm working out at lunch every day. Not going to be able to make it. And you go work out five days a week. I don't think so. I have an extraordinarily... crazy idea. Be up front? No, you can't, Mike. That's your boss. Be up front and say it makes your wife uncomfortable? That's going to make her so weirded out. The boss? Yeah. Just say it. It makes, be like, you know, people in the office are kind of starting to talk. Maybe we should bring someone else along, like, you know. What's wrong with the gym idea? It's a lie. No, it's not. You go to the gym. He doesn't want to go to the gym. You go work out every day. And you get in shape. If you actually.
Want to go to the gym, sure. Yeah. You know. Some people may not have a gym at their work, though. Some people want to eat lunch on their lunch break. Yeah. Eat at your desk. Tell your wife to grow up and you can have a meeting with your boss all you want. Wow. Yeah, but people at work are talking too, Jay. Yeah, you know why? Because telling your wife to grow up is a long-standing great rule of thumb. We love that. You know what? I've gone to lunch with my employees who were girls all the time. But the same one all the time? All the time. Well, you have a different wife than this guy does. You've got a different wife than I do. You've got a different wife than a lot of people do. You've made us a stronger unit. Yeah, I mean, as a group, we went in. There was no, really, I'm going to fool around with my employee that works right below me. You're right. That's never happened. That's never happened. If it does, you're out of your mind. That's going to go south big time. A lot of people have gone down that route. Yeah. So how many times would you say you guys have been to lunch? Is this like the last two weeks? Has it been going on for months? I mean, it's been going on for months. Normally, it's going to last me maybe three or four times a week. Wow.
And I can only come up with so many excuses before eventually. You have to go. Yeah. Who pays? Is it always her? Or are you both? Yeah. Wait, who? Who pays? They split it. Weird. Yeah. You know, listen. If I was going to work with my boss and my boss was a female, I think it would be a little inappropriate. Unless you were talking business, but it sounds like you're not talking business. I mean, we'll talk like friends, but the thing is, like, I don't know where the boundaries lie with that. Yeah, yeah, the boundaries. I don't want to get in trouble with the misses and have people talking at work. It's just, it's beginning to get a bit uncomfortable. That's a deal. You know, I wouldn't like it if it were reverse. If my wife's boss, dude, was asking her out to lunch all the time and they weren't talking a lot about business, they were talking a lot of personal, I'd be like, Hey, creep. Yeah. Oh, I would not like that. Hey, BFFs. Maybe you eat lunch at your desk. Right. That's what I would say. Yeah. Hey, besties. Or invite someone else. Like, make it a...
a little triad. Team. Just make one more person. Yeah, that's what we always did. We always at least tried to have three people. Yeah, it's awkward with two. Like, if Mike and I, if you and I went to lunch every day, guaranteed, the rest of you guys would be like, that's weird. It would be weird. We would be talking about it all the time, how weird it was. I go to lunch with Woods every day, you guys talk about it. I know. It's not weird, you guys are just in a bromance. You make hand hearts. Yeah. Let's see. M1, Sarah from La Jolla, are you there? Yes, I'm here. Go ahead. Well, first of all, I'm an HR manager, and that is the sexual harassment lawsuit waiting to happen. And this guy needs to absolutely just say, hey, you know what? I made other plans. I have a lunch date with someone. She stops asking. If he can't just man up and say, hey, we need to talk and let her know that he is uncomfortable with the conversation at their lunches, which a grown-up would do. Yeah, but that's so hard to do. How about man up and say no? I don't think it's that big a deal. I mean, honestly, and maybe it's because. You don't have to give a deal, but in California, everyone sues for nothing. Hey, Sarah, so your suggestion is just tell her. Give us an example of how he might say it. He might go in and say, you know, when we're having lunch, I really enjoy it. You know, it's great to spend time with you, you know, on that level. But at some times, I think that we talk about things that make me a little uncomfortable. That's simply a grown-up way to say it.
Hey, what about this? Hey, Sarah, what about this? Because this would be my rap. This is what I would say. I'd say, hey, Sarah, I have a great time going to lunch and everything, but my wife is a little uncomfortable with it, and my priority and my obligation has got to be with her, so I can't do it. That would be a beautiful thing. You think he's got it in him to do that? I don't know. Because he's talking to all his coworkers how uncomfortable. I mean, he sounds like a little girl. Oh, my God. Wow. Instead of simply going and saying, hey, one-on-one, I'm pretty uncomfortable with this, so it's my wife. Well, obviously, he likes his boss. I'm sure she's cool. You don't want to freak her out. Sounds like a little girl. You want to make your boss mad. I am, you know, I mean, he can say his wife's uncomfortable. She is uncomfortable. He shouldn't be going to lunch with her anyway. I don't like the rap of just putting it on the wife, though, either. Just blaming her? Yeah. I would totally go to lunch with you, but my wife won't. My wife won't let me. Yeah, it's like, okay, wimp. Well, it's probably the truth. The truth is that he probably enjoys going to lunch with her.
Does he? His wife's uncomfortable with it. I only think that's the truth. I don't think he enjoys it. I guarantee he's getting grief at work. People are thinking it's weird. So, Chaz, do you not dig going to lunch with her? I mean, it's all right. Like, we're friends, I guess. But, like, she's also my boss. Hey, man, I say you're honest. It's kind of uncomfortable. I say you're honest. I don't think you sound like a little girl at all. I don't either. I would say that if you're uncomfortable, there's a problem. I'm trying to figure out how to bring it up without hurting anyone's feelings or making it more uncomfortable at the workplace. Wait, Chaz, Sarah's trying to tell you. Go ahead, Sarah. I agree with, I don't know who said it over there, that he should say, you know, my wife's really uncomfortable with this, but, hey, I have a great time. And then he doesn't hurt her feelings. If he does, if he does have a great time, and I don't suggest that if you don't have a great time doing it, I don't suggest that you say to her, listen, I really don't enjoy going to lunch. It's just not necessary. But my philosophy is just tell her what you think and tell her how you feel. What if her response is, all right, well, then just don't tell your wife about it. It's not a big deal. Then you say no. You say I can't do that. But just even if you were to bring up the wife thing, the boss is going to be like, well.
Okay. And just think to herself, like, was I coming on to him? No, I'm not interested in him at all. Yeah. Why? Why is it? Does he think that? And then she'll be all weirded out. Hey, listen, I had a I have a friend that is a female friend. She put one time on my Facebook something like, hey, hon, how you doing? And that was an instant phone call. And I mean, good friend, cool person, like her a lot. Instant phone call saying. You can't call me hun. No. It's just, you can't call me hun. Mrs. does not approve. And she said, okay. It was no big deal. That's the way she talks. She talks that way with everybody. And that's the way she kind of talks to her buddies. I said, can't do it. I'm a married guy. See, but you didn't throw Rebecca under the bus. You weren't like, look, Rebecca doesn't like if girls saying stuff like that. No. You have to put it upon yourself. It was a manly move for sure. Sure, sure. And it was uncomfortable as all get out. It was uncomfortable. Oh, yeah. All get out. Okay, I've got one for you. Go ahead, Jay.
So you've got a hot little training coach. Yeah. You go work out with her, what, three times a week for an hour? Gosh. The gym? That's a little uncomfortable, isn't it? No, because my wife is training with her 45 minutes before I am. But that's 45 minutes. You guys are alone. Well, wait a minute. Actually, it's an hour. It's not 45 minutes. It's an hour. And we're not alone. We're in a gym full of people. Now, she didn't used to work out with Rebecca, but right now the deal is she works out with Rebecca at home, and then I meet her at the gym, and I work out at the gym because if I work out at home, it's too hot for me. Sorry. Okay, but you're in a restaurant full of people. You're in a gym full of people. Hey, it's still female companionship. Well, it's a lot more conversation. Like, you're just, like, shooting the breeze at lunch. Lunch is a little more intimate, I think. They're up to, you know, this is a client-customer relationship. And you're paying a trainer to do that, you know? She's not a co-worker. I mean, I think it would be. She's providing a service. I think it would be weird.
Like L.O.B. said, if L.O.B. and I were going to work out, if L.O.B. was training me, I think it would be weird. I'm not a personal trainer, so why would I do that? Oh, but she just really likes to work out. Maybe you get yourself a personal trainer. I got a shrink. I got a shrink that's a woman. I spend an hour with her in a closed office. On a couch. Hey, on a couch. Telling her very intimate. In the same chair. It's not a big deal. She feeds me chocolate covered strawberries. I love it. It's weird, but I love it. It's not a big deal. But you get what I'm saying. Well, and I think the bottom line is we all have different comfort levels and we all have different boundaries. And I think if you're in a committed relationship, that is your first priority. And if it makes that person uncomfortable, just forsake the, like, doesn't mean enough to him to have lunch with this chick. It means more to him to keep his wife. Absolutely. I hope that helps, Chaz. It does. Thank you. Thank you, brother. Good luck. 570-1949 or 949mikey at gmail.com if you want to comment on it. How are you feeling? I'm all right. I'm doing good. So that means nothing bad's going to end up in the bottle, which means nothing bad's going to end up in your body. I'm all on board with that. that honest tea it's my new favorite drink i tried the half and half which is half black tea and then half lemonade so when you see it on the shelf go ahead and give it a try it's called honest tea

Looks like we've got a still little patchy fog in some areas here in San Diego, so just take your time as you travel to work. On the 5 northbound ramp to Las Polgas Road, we have a disabled tractor trailer. It's blocking that ramp, and the freeway exit could be multiple big rigs that are involved with this. Also, the 56 westbound after Carmel Creek Road, that has been cleared. There was a bunch of tire tread in the slow lane. The 52 westbound between Mission Gorge Road, Convoy Street, still a little slow this morning, 25 miles an hour in some spots.
This report also brought to you by your San Diego County Toyota dealers. Toyota owners, San Diego Toyota dealerships have a $24.95 lube, oil, and filter replacement for United States Armed Forces members and veterans. That's including the immediate family. See your dealer for details. I'm Stacy Cohen, FM 94.9. It's time for the FM 94.9 Authentic Surf Report. Good morning to you. This is Bird from Dragon Eyewear with the FM 94.9 Authentic Surf Report for this rock and roll on Tuesday morning. Kind of shaking up from last night's little quake we had. This is being brought to you today by Guayaki Yerba Mate. And today the surf is looking like it's kind of shooken up too. Some west and northwest wind and groundswell out in the water. It's kind of picked up overnight along with across the southwest swell that's inconsistent. all getting hammered by a negative low tide this morning, right around 640, negative 1.2 tides, kind of sucking the life out of it. Overcast skies, a little bit of drizzle on it as well with a little bit of an onshore wind, so really not the ideal conditions for a morning go-out. Nonetheless, there's waste, the chest-high waves to be found on occasion, and top open areas primarily to that southwest swell direction. You can see the occasional shoulder-high setway, but again, spotty to be sure.
Beach breaks most likely to be your place to hit today as the reef breaks look really broken up. Those beaches improving throughout the morning if those winds will stay down as that tide fills in. So a lot going on this morning and none of it all that good. For up-to-the-minute surf reports and forecasts, go to surfline.com. Now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. I make up lyrics if I don't know them. Woods. I remember my first French kiss. Lauren. If there's a movie with Meg Ryan in it, I'm like, I'm out. Ziena. I put my head down because if I hear someone cry, I cry. And Jay. Please grow up. On FM 94.9. Arctic Monkeys. Jay speaks today. If you're just tuning in, Woods was late. Every break. That's how we're going to start. Every break. For the rest of my life. If you're just tuning in, words was late. Yeah, back in 2010. Yeah, seriously. Words was late. I remember it like it was yesterday. You guys ready for the roast? That's right.
So this guy's name is Bob Etheridge. If you go to MikeyShow.com right now, you can actually watch the video of Bob Etheridge getting on this kid. It's pretty crazy. Literally? No. Oh, boy. Woods. Well, he does touch him. Yeah, he got physical with him. Yeah. Gross. I have to try to describe it to you. Basically, what we have here is we have this. Democratic congressman, or excuse me, representative. Yeah. He's walking down the street and these kids from college try to interview him. And he gets belligerent with them. He's upset that they're trying to talk to him. Hi, Congressman. How are you? Do you fully support the Obama agenda? Who are you? Who are you? He just slapped their camera. He just slapped their camera. The camera goes like, you know.
Little willy-nilly. Yeah. When he hits the camera. And the next thing that you see, because there was two kids there. So the next thing you see is one of the kids grabs the camera to film what is going down. Wow. And he is holding the kid's wrist. Now, I was describing it to Jay. And I said, he reminds me of like one of these old, you know, wily Korean War veterans. that's got this kid in some sort of a thing that he learned back in boot camp. Yeah. He grabs his neck, too. In 1946. But he starts with the wrist. He's holding the wrist, and he's doing the wrist bend. Okay? I'm here for a project, sir. Tell me who you are. We're just here for a project, sir. Tell me who you are. We're just here for a project. Sir, can you please let me out my hand? Tell me who you are. I'm just assuming, sir. We're your students. That's all we are. I have a right to know who you are. All we are is students. So am I. Who are you? Who are you? Please let go of my arm, sir. Who are you? Sir, sir, sir. I would have knocked him out, sir. Who are you? They're smart on camera. They're smart. Why are they smart? Because all he's saying is, please let go of my arm, sir, and not swinging at it. Oh, for sure.
And they know that the camera's rolling. The camera is getting all of this. This guy looks like a big jerk. Now, they wouldn't have had, they're completely within their right to be doing what they're doing. Absolutely. And they're calling him sir and they're staying calm. Yeah, being respectful. He's the one that's acting like a child. The only thing I don't understand with the kids is why they didn't just say, I would have said, my name is Mike Esparza. I'm from such and such a school. Man, in fact, if you do that and he continues to hold on to you, you're toast. I mean, he's toast anyway. Well, maybe they're like, I don't want him to remember my name and cause trouble for me or something. I don't know, man. Once you lay your hands on somebody the way he did, he's the one that's got to be digging his way out of it. Here he is apologizing for the confrontation. I apologize for my actions. They're unacceptable. I've served the people of North Carolina for a long time. No matter how... Oh, please turn them off before coming into this thing. I know it. How embarrassed are you? This is Presser 101. When you go to a press conference, turn it off. It's worse than being late to work. Is it? Is it? Isn't it? Is it? See, you're bringing it up now. It may be distracting, but at least it's on time. Whatever. It's all just in the past, right? That's in the past. Why do you guys keep bringing up old stuff? I think you just don't.
Hour old. 7.43 a.m. Back to the story. Why did he get so upset? I don't know. Just because they said, do you agree with the Obama agenda? I don't know. Let's see. And no matter how difficult things get sometimes, that's no excuse for my response. So I came today to say, sorry, I apologize. I like the way he says apologize. Why are we playing all these apology audio? Too late to apologize. If anger is hurt, sadness, and fear, I think he was fearful. That's my guess. 100%. When it happened? Yeah, they freaked him out. Why'd they freak him out? Because I don't know who you, like, you guys are going to jump me? Oh, I thought you meant because of his response, he was fear. I think he was, that's why he apologized, because he was fearful of what was going to happen to him. Oh, no, no, no. I'm saying, I'm saying he got angry, obviously. Yeah.
Why was he angry? Was he hurt, sad, or fearful? He was, I think he was fearful. Maybe not being jumped. Maybe he thought they were making a joke out of him. Making a joke out of him. Maybe he thought that they, yeah, a bunch of kids making a joke out of him. Or maybe he thought that they were going to ask him something that was going to like make him nervous. Didn't the old no comment bit work just as well? Yeah. What about no comment? Yeah. And they just came up to him with a video camera in his face too. Like that's got to be like, hey, if he's not used to that, just walking down the street, I mean. Now, they asked him also, was there any other physical contact in the confrontation that you had with these kids? I came here today to do one thing. That was to apologize for my actions. And as I said, no matter how intrusive or partisan. I thought he was going to say, I came here today to do two things. Drink some beer and kick some ass. Can we save that clip? Can we save that clip? I came here today for one thing. To apologize. Oh, really? And every time Woodsy's late, we can play that clip. Every time, really? I can't wait today to do one thing that was to apologize for my ass. We can play that every time we bring up Woodsy. Perfect. So next time it's referenced on the show, which, you know, hey, M1 Nation, don't start already making t-shirts that say, got alarm clock? Got alarm clock.
Got backup. Got battery. What time does the show start? Yeah. Don't start making t-shirts that say that. But every time from this moment on that it's ever referenced. Please don't breathe like that when you didn't brush your teeth. That Woods was 45 minutes late. It's a word. Really? 35. We're splitting hairs here. I came here today to do one thing. What's that Woods? Oh, Paul Jeff. Apologize for reactions. Can I just put this right here? Clipboard. For the rest of the day. Blocking your vision from Mike. As I said, no matter how inclusive or partisan our politics has become, there's just no excuse. I know about it. I've been through a lot of tough situations. What? Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. She just wrote something and you laughed. No, she did it. Yeah, she did. No, she did it. I was trying to diffuse the situation. What did you do? I told him to black tooth you. Give me a raisin. Oh, I do have raisins. Now you're going to have to pop it on him. Would you black tooth me on the freeway yesterday? He drove up next to me on the freeway. Are you serious? He looked over and he had put something black on his tooth and looked like he had a black tooth and made me laugh.
I'll admit he's funny. But now you'll be expecting it. I wanted him to black tooth you. That's still funny. Children. I'll leave these here for some ammo for you. The funniest part of when Woodsy does black tooth is when he first looks at you with black tooth. The expression on his face is flirtatious. He's so proud of himself. The expression is picture flirtation. He, like, wiggles his eyebrows up and down. Delicious. It's difficult to stay mad at Woods. It is. Tell that to my wife. Kid's got a heart of gold. Wears it on his sleeve. Yeah. He's got an alarm clock of wood that he has. That he has a heart of, doesn't he? Of wood. It doesn't work. He's got an alarm clock made of coconut husk. I actually used a sundial. I used a sundial to wake up. There's an Aztec that sits in your room. Oh, my gosh. He's got a rooster. Holy cow, my head hurts. Unbelievable. What's more shocking, Representative Bob Etheridge or Woodsy not showing up to work? I showed up to work. I'm here. Are you? Aren't I? Do you think that Bob Etheridge...
is super easy on his teenage kids. Oh my gosh. Do you think that's an easy house? Do you think that's an easy household? They get into a sleeper hold if they come home after their curfew. Did you eat my Oreos? You know your mom bought them for me. He's doing wrist lock in the Oreos. Where's the Oreo? Where's the Oreo? I don't know, my dad. I don't know. I swear. Why are you slapping yourself? Yeah, why are you slapping yourself? Where's the Oreos? Why are you slapping yourself? Where are they? That's so sweet. Oh, man. Oh, my God. The why are you slapping yourself bit. Why is it so funny? That's great. Even when you're getting it done to you, I'm like, oh, I love it. I don't know. I cried quite a bit when I was seven years old and my brother was. pulling the why you're slapping yourself bit. Did he do the loogie down to your face and slurp it back up? Yeah. Yeah, I did that to my brother. Did that to my wife the other day. Oh, what? I had a boyfriend. Yeah, I did it to Jamie the other day. I had a boyfriend that did that to me. It's the best. He would pin me down. He wouldn't get you, would he? Yeah, sometimes they drop. Oh, yeah.
You cannot let them drop. Mine dropped in her hair. Listen, if you let them drop, you're diabolical. It was an accident. Don't give me the accident. It was an accident. You slurp them up before it gets over. I didn't have a battery in it. I had a power surge. Don't let it get to the point where you have to slurp it up. You know what makes them real good? Chocolate milk. Chocolate milk and orange juice. Oh, gross. Oh, I just remember screaming. Yeah, she was mad. It's the worst. Yeah, I got mad. Oh, boy, oh, boy. She was mad. Well, I did it last week. I would be furious. My brother would hold me down, and he would be like, and I had to recite things. Like the Mexican national anthem? You're the coolest. Yeah, you're the coolest. I'll never do it again. He would just say stuff, and I would be like, I'm so gay, okay? I'm so gay. He'd be like, I'm so gay, and Steve's awesome. I'm so gay, and Steve's awesome. Totally. It's a wonder more big brothers don't get shanked when they're older. I know it. You know what I mean? My brother cold cocked me. Cold cocked me one time. Did he really? For all the payback. Yeah, he paid me back real good. I did too. It was in our kitchen. Knocked me out cold. In our kitchen on Felice Drive. I was 17. My brother beat me until I was 17. In fact, it was the same day that I went on the radio for the first time ever in my life. Wow. No kidding. Yeah.
I bet all of us can remember either the time that we said enough is enough and got back at our bullying sibling or the time that the one that you bullied was like enough is enough. Yeah. Sure. It was my brother's high school graduation night. It was? Yeah. And I made a fat joke about him and he turned around and went whack and just boom. Did he get you good? Got me good. Knocked me back into his closet. Oh, my God. Before graduation? Before graduation. Yeah, it was over after that. There's pictures of us after with our arms around each other. I got a little. I mean, like, because when I did that to Steve, there was no more. Never again. He never messed with me again. Never again. My brother was 17. I haven't messed with him since. Well, he got in another fight after that, but that was like a fight. Yeah. Me and Steve one time, too, but it was silly. Yeah. Brothers, and see, Rebecca, my wife, is probably listening right now. She's going to have to. understand that sometimes boys, they work it out. You know, brothers, they work it out. I mean, as a dad, you go, don't do that. But the boys, they... The siblings. It's going to freak her out. I know it's going to freak my wife out. Your house is going to be crazy in about six years, seven years. Well, less than that. No. I mean, you got to be... Yeah.
Jake will be seven. The boys will be four or five. I mean, yeah, it's got to be a little bit older, but it's going to be nuts at your house. Yeah. He took my truck. Jake's going to be so sweet. Yeah. And the two of them are going to mess with him, and they're going to aggravate him to where he's just going to snap. They already do. They already take, you know, we'll grab his stuff. But they don't know. They don't know. They're going to do it on purpose now because they know it gets a rise out of them. Jake is like my older brother and I was the worst little sister. I mean, my brother would build out of blocks like a castle or a fort or something amazing. And as soon as he put that last block up, I would come and just wham! Wow! Oh, my brother was the nicest. He was like in first grade. I was in kindergarten. It'd be a birthday and kids would bring in cupcakes. My brother would save his cupcake to bring home to me. And I'd just like eat it. Oh, Taylor. I know. Sweetest brother to you. Seriously. That's how Jake is. He's so sweet. Just like that. Jake is super sweet. And even now, the twins, twins are 10 months old now. Ryan does not take anything from Luke.
Never. He doesn't take stuff out of his hand. He doesn't take stuff. Luke can't stop taking stuff. Hey, he took a 20 out of your wallet yesterday when I was over there. I know it. He does. He's just curious. Yeah. Luke's like me. He's not being malicious. My little brother. He was probably like eight years old when it finally stopped, but he spilled a gallon of milk when he was like four. And I was like, oh, and I cleaned it up. I did like the big daddy bit, like put like paper towels and newspapers down on it. And I held that over his head for like four or five years. Every time he would do something wrong, I would go, milky, milky. Oh my gosh. And finally one day he shoved me into the counter and said, I don't care. Tell mom about the milk. I'm you. Oh, I love it. Oh, okay, okay. And then it was over. Totally over. Never used it again. You never held the milk again. No, never could time him, never could get a fast one by him. Milky, milky, milky. And isn't it great that we become paralyzed by our siblings? Yeah. Like, that's all it takes.
Like, that's all it takes is milky milk. And you're like. Yeah. He says it now. He's like, what was going to happen? You were going to tell mom that four years ago I spilled milk in the kitchen? I was going to go to mommy prison? Like, what was going to happen? The time that Steve, I went on the radio. OK, I went on the radio for the very first time. I got a phone call from my buddy that worked at a pirate radio station. He said, if you can be here in 20 minutes, you can go on the radio. Well, I didn't drive. I didn't have a car to drive. And the only thing available was this 10 speed bike that my brother Steve had borrowed. Somebody else's. Somebody else's bike. I had I was like if it was fight or flight, like I was either going to get on the radio for the first time ever. But in order to do it, I was going to have to take this bike and I was like, oh my gosh, what do I do? What do I do? And I was like, I'll tell him when I get home because he was working and it wasn't going to make a difference to him. So I took it. Nothing happened to it. I came back, got back home and I am so excited. Like I'm coming out of my mind from being on the radio for the first time. And I walk into the living room and I go.
I was just on the radio. I just went on the radio. I was just talking. And he stands up and he's got the remote control in his hand. Oh, gosh. Oh, gosh. And he has some colorful language. Oh, gosh. And he says, where the bleep did you take that bike? Oh, no. And I was instantly filled with rage. Oh, yeah. Like, you're going to steal this moment from me? Like, I know that he, in any other circumstance, I would be like, this is how the response would have gone. And then he would have been like, really? Is that right? He would have walked over all hard. And I'd have gotten my A kicked. That's how it would always go. But this particular time, there was no stealing this moment. And so he was pushing and he finally threw the remote control. You flipped. And something inside my brain went. Sprung a leak. Hey, thank God you did. Oh, yeah. It sprung. Did you get him? We would all not probably be sitting here today. No kidding. It's a good thing I decided to take the bike, right? Did you get him? Oh, dude. Did you get him good? I got him. I got to tell you this. When we come back, I'll tell you. I want to hear it. I will tell you what his exact words were to me as he walked out the door. He walked out the door and he had these parting words. And by parting, I mean he left for a couple of hours. Oh.
I'll give you his parting words as he walked out the front door. Let your voice be heard on The Mikey Show now. I'm ready. Call 570-1949. I'm going all to shoot him a text. 949mikey at gmail.com. Brothers can really mix it up. Sisters can too. But my brother, Steve, next closest in age to me, he's eight years older. Guy would get me up until 17. At 17 years old, I finally fought back and I got him good. We're in the kitchen and I was teeing off on him. I had to because if I didn't...
It would have just gone on and on and on. It was going on forever. Had to end. Had to end. And so I bloodied his face. Wow. That's how bad we got into it. Because I was all those. I think it was all those years. Pent up. Of pent up, you know, frustration, anger. And I mean, Steve got me, man. And so he's walking out the door and he goes, I can't believe that you hit me. You're not my brother. And I remember thinking, really? Really? Like that was supposed to be very profound and impactful, you know? Did it get you like maybe an hour later? Oh, I rolled my, never got, I mean, I rolled my eyes like, really? So let me get this straight. You used to pound my face mercilessly with your fists. And suddenly I'm not your brother? You're not brothers. It sounds like it was impactful because you remember his exact words. Oh, yeah, but I also remember. He was laughing, I think. Really? At the goofiness of. It was a great comedic moment in your life. It was a great comedic moment. I mean, he said it, and I was like, that's great. I think we've all said it at some point. Have you ever yelled, I hate you? Of course. Oh, yeah. To your parents. Oh, man. He still references that today. Oh, man. You're not my brother. That's right. Let's do this.
How apropos. That's right. Sing us a song, Sienna. We should get a longer intro. Yeah, we should get one that's 14 hours. I love it. We should get a longer one. It's very peppy. It is very peppy. The way that this works is we do it just for fun to see what Sienna knows. A lot. It thrills us. Well, musically, Sienna knows what she knows. She knows a lot of pop. Country. Hip-hop. Hip-hop. Yep, yep, yep, yep. I'm 25 years old. It's okay. When it comes to some of the rock classics, not so much. But we will wager. We'll see. What about Sienna singing Bob Seger? No chance. I say zero percent chance. No way. Because she's got Todd. Depends on the song. Three percent chance. Four. Depends on the song, actually, I think. Yeah.
Can we know the song? Can we know the song? Old Time Rock and Roll. She knows it. Oh, yeah. Everybody knows that song. Everyone knows Old Time Rock and Roll. Bob Seger. Bob Seger, Old Time Rock and Roll. It's a song that they played while Tom Cruise. Tom Cruise did his deal in his underwear. A little panty dance. Yeah, his panty dance in Risky Business. Guaranteed Sienna's never seen that movie. No. Guaranteed. No. She knows the song. I'm like, Tom Cruise in his underwear. You ready, Sienna? Yes. Here we go. Whoa. Whoa. She's getting it. She's getting it. She got it. It sounded like Mitty Madness. Yeah. It's the best one I could find. I'm sure. I was trying so hard to laugh. How about? One for one. Carpenters. Oh, no way. No way. Superstar. Zero percent. You guys, every time you have to say zero percent. There's a zero percent. I just got one. I think it's zero percent. I think it's one percent. I say it's negative 14 percent. Negative 14 percent.
I'd say you won better and say negative 15. I'd go $1. 101. Carpenters, superstar, here we go. Long ago. And oh, so far away. It's smoky. It's smoky. It's so smoky. You're so smoky. I fell in love with you. Oh, my God. She's a loud singer. For the second show. Oh, wow. Welcome to the carnival elation. Your guitar. Welcome to the Holiday Inn in Tulsa. This is Sienna. It sounds so sweet and clear. I disagree. But you're not really here. Cut it. It's just. It's just. Thank you. Wow. Sienna. She definitely had a little Neil Diamond influence on that one. Long ago. Clear. Yeah. Okay. Wow. The next one is a quandary for sure.
Will CNN know? Lynyrd Skynyrd, Simple Man. Oh, yeah. Yes, I think she had it on her bumper music one time. I know Jay did. I did too with the Deftones, but I think she might have also. 25% chance, I think. I think there's a 25% chance. Better than zero. I'm going to go 48%. Wow. Wow. What is it? How do we measure who's right? 48.7. I say there is a 36.4% chance that she does not. 62.3. All right, here we go. Mama told me. Oh, yeah. Oh, man, that sounds good. When I was young. Sit beside me. Besides me. Oh, yeah. My only son. That's good. She sounds good. That's a good key for you. And listen closely to what I say. Do this. It'll help you. Sunny day. Good. Nice, Jamie. Yeah. I sing better.
When it's a guy's song. Yeah, that's good. Write that down. Me too. At the old station, we had Sienna sing, what was it? Catherine McPhee. Oh, yes. You nailed it. Oh, come all ye faithful. No, it was the best. That was the most nervous I've ever been on the radio. Oh, I bet. Oh, yeah. She killed it, though. She got it. She got up there real good. Until you started playing fart sound effects while I'm trying to sing. That is true. You know that kills me. That is true. I did play the fart sound effects. Really, Mike. I was trying to test the boundaries of her ability. You know what we haven't talked about at all this break? Woods being late to work today. Oh, that's right. Oh, yeah. That's right. For those of you just tuning in. For those of you just tuning in, Woods didn't show up to work today at FM 94.9. I did, too, because I'm sitting right here. Well, you showed up two hours later than normal. Mm-hmm. You sure did. Mm-hmm. Aren't we proud of him? I'm just going to poke the tiger all day. Must have got a good night's sleep. And I'm going to bother Woods. And you're going to bother Woods. Must have been real nice sleeping in. It was. Felt great. Not having to do sports. Felt real good waking up this morning, too. Let me tell you. The sun's out. Must be nice. So terrifying. Yeah. Sun was out when I woke up. Do you feel like Edward Cullen when you woke up? I felt like I wanted to jerk my car off of a bridge.
Easy with that. Yeah, I was so scared. The terror feeling? Oh, I bet. I've gotten it after a nap, and I'm like, I'm done. Terror. I'm done. Terror. Terror. But, of course, we wouldn't be sitting here joking about it if it were me. Wouldn't we? L-O-B. Really? I'm not part of an endless love. Aren't you? It would be awkward silence. Yeah, it would be. What do you think would happen? Yeah. L.O.B. You dance your way out of a lot of trouble on this show, my friend. First of all, I wouldn't be called L.O.B. all day. I would be referred to as... Really? Lauren? I would call you Lauren? Yeah. All day. And then you would say, hmm, that's an interesting opinion. Anyway, Sienna... Let me tell you something. No way. Let me tell you. If the roles were reversed, if she were our boss... Oh, stop it. And I messed up. Oh, you'd be dead. No way. Dead. I'm the late queen. I would forgive it. She kills me now. Well, I know. She kills me now. She gets me. Mikey would, like I told you. She gets me real good. Like I told you earlier, yours would stop with a lecture. It'd be over. You would get a talking to. I'd give you a lecture. And you'd get. You'd be done. And it would be done. Yeah.
Right. I'm going to have 17 hours today. Yeah, right, Mike. I'll have dinner at the Esparza house tonight. He'll be over there on a unicycle juggling real good. Yeah, then you're going to, like, massage his feet. Yeah, he'll make me rub his feet. Tuck him into bed. Just like any other weekend. And iron all his robes and everything. I'm going to be like Dwight in the office having to do his laundry. If Mikey's pens are out of order when he comes in the morning and gives me the Manson lamps, like, hey, what about that pen that was supposed to be here? Yeah. If that were true, then those pens wouldn't be out of order. Yeah. They are. I just like to test you. And they are. Oh, boy. Every day. Every day. So I posted yesterday, if you're on our Facebook page, if you go to Facebook and you're a fan of the Mikey Show, just search the Mikey Show. We are 8,613 strong. If you are a part of the M1 Nation, you are on our Facebook fan page. And so we'd love to see you there. So yesterday I posed the question, how do you spot a tourist? Here in San Diego. Oh, my gosh. It was a polarizing question. Yeah, it was. How many comments did you get? 137. No way. 137. They're out. The tourists are here. Oh, yeah. And the responses are hysterical. Did you get any tourists respond? Did not get any tourists. You got one, pal.
Well, Woodsy's kind of a tourist, right? Yeah. He got so upset he showed up late. That's one thing I like about the June gloom is the tourists that come in and they're thinking, ah, it's time to hit the beach. And they're all dressed in their bathing suit stuff. And you're like, ha, have fun. Well, literally, if you came from Wisconsin right now, you'd be like, wow, it's warmer at home. It's freezing here. I know. It's true. It's true. So here's some of the responses that we got for how do you tell a tourist here in San Diego. M1 Cara said. They go to order Mexican food, squint at the menu for a while, then pronounce grande, grand. Oh, that's my mom. And ask what a horchata is. You hear that, you know you're looking at a tourist. Don't forget a polo asado sandwich. Tortilla. Yes, a polo asado sandwich. What is polo asado? You know that you're spotting a tourist when you see socks and sandals. You do that. I do not do socks and sandals. Don't you? No. Do you wear socks and sandals? No. Yeah, yeah, yeah. With shorts. Yeah, I wear socks with sandals. Ankle socks is okay. Yeah. You don't wear socks with sandals? Wait, wait, wait. If you're going to wear shorts, you can't wear the ankle socks with sandals. I don't wear the sandals when I wear shorts.
I don't think it looks bad. Todd, he doesn't usually wear socks, but he's done it. And he has black cynics, and they're black socks. So you can't really tell. Yeah. If you don't know what cynics are, maybe the greatest pair of shoes I've ever owned. I'm wearing mine right now. Me too. Oh, we all are. They're delightful. Yeah. I saw they sped you on your way. Yeah, they sped me on my way here. Yeah. They sure did. M1 Ivan says, oh, that's easy. They can't drive. Ever notice when somebody's driving ridiculously slow, and they have out-of-state plates? Mm-hmm. I've got out-of-state plates, and I drive real fast. Yeah, but you don't know where you're going. Oh, you're better now. I'm way better now. I was in the car with your wife, Jamie, on Friday. And she's like, what is going on with people today? I'm like, it's Friday. It's San Diego. Got some out-of-towners here. That's right. You know how you spot a tourist? They think fish tacos are weird. What? They're repugnant. They're not. Yeah, they are. They're an overrated bit. You feasted at the fair. I've had one that is good, and that's one out of 30 that I've tried. You have not had 30. Yeah, I have. 30 different places. 30! Such a liar. Such an exaggerator. Such a liar. Whenever you try something and you don't like it, you're like, I'm out, I'm out, I'm out. Never again will I have that. Never even had the hummus. Disgusting. M1Steven said, they work on the Mikey Show, dip Copenhagen, blast cigs, and run red lights. That's right. And show up late for work. That's right. That was before I showed up late for work.
Lauren, I want your new bit to be working that in whenever you can. It thrills me. Because I'm always the late one, and now I'm not. Kid bites his tongue a lot. Maybe he doesn't bite his tongue anymore. Really? Everybody likes to throw their two cents in. Everybody likes to throw their two cents in. The kid's collecting coins real good over here. Kids collecting them are real good. Don't, because that tickles me. Today is the day that it's a freebie for everyone. Don't make her stop. It's no freebie. Come on. Get out of jail free card. Come on. Lauren, I want you to always do it. I want to pass go and collect $200. We'll see. Kid's got a trough of pennies over here real good. Get it? You get it? Yeah, I do. Two cents adds up to a lot of pennies. Stacks of pennies. This is how you know a tourist. When you hear them ask questions like, what did they have at In-N-Out? Or, what is in a California burrito? I have no idea. Or, what are carne asada fries? Painful. Or, where's the smoking section? That's an out-of-towner. That's a tourist. I just checked yes to all those, by the way. Now, here's the other thing. I want to put this out here.
Before I play you this, first of all, I want to say that we know tourism means a lot to San Diego. We know that. If it weren't for tourism, I wouldn't be living here right now. I came as a tourist. Most of us would. We're all tourists at some point in our life. Except for Siena. Well, not a tourist to here. I was born and raised in San Diego. And so to you business owners here in San Diego, we love you and we're glad that you're getting supported by the tourists. Absolutely. Not to everyone else. In traffic. Yeah, it's a bit of a beating, isn't it? Yeah. It's a bit of a beating. I like it. I'm sure you do. You won't come August. Yeah. It's the least wonderful time of the year. Oh, yeah. It's the least wonderful time of the year. I love it. With the cars and the zonies and everyone crowding our beaches with beer. It's the least wonderful time. I want this every day. We will all feel like sardines when all of the mom genes are crowding our peers.
It's the least wonderful time. It's the least wonderful time. It's the least wonderful time. She won a Grammy. It's the truth. She changed the name of San Diego. Really? To guess what? What? Perfect film. Is that right? No, the majority of people in San Diego were all tourists, and all of you were at one point, and I fully embraced all of you. You know the one I saw yesterday that burned me up? What? Somebody goes, when you pass somebody on the street and they say hi to you, I'm like, really, dude? Oh, like that's a bad thing? Yeah, like it's a bad thing. Oh, I love it. I miss it. I love it. Tell me about it. I love it. We'll say this to you, though. Woodsy's already becoming a local. Zero percent. Oh, really? Zero percent. We were driving home from going out to the lagoon this weekend. Got on the five south.
Bumper to bumper traffic on a Saturday at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Del Mar Fair. Del Mar Fair. Yeah. And Woodsy goes, where's everybody going? And I go. That's not against tourists. And I go, dude, I go, it's tourist season. It's people from the OC. It's people going to see their boyfriends and girlfriends in San Diego. It's, you know, all that stuff. And he's like, get. Nah. That's just woods. I just don't like traffic. And when you live by the beach, too, it's like people are parked in front of your house, and you can't get anywhere, and it's just madness. You know what I do now? Because I'm a friendly dude, as you guys know, and people here, for the most part, besides the people we've met through the show and stuff, are super nice. But out in public, not so nice, truly. And, I mean, the guy will slam at you with his grocery cart, and you'll be like, excuse me. So my bit now is overly happy guy. Overly friendly dude. Hey, man, how you doing? Good to see you. I kill him with kindness. Oh, that's what I do. Kids are killer. I'll tell you this. Right now, it's got to be the trippiest San Diego weather ever. It's June. I got blamed for that, too, by the way, in an email for the earthquakes and the weather since I moved here. Gary Coleman. Gary Coleman. June is usually pretty bad, but this is pretty crazy. June 15th. Yeah. I wore a scarf on Friday night.
Yeah, it's cold on June 15th. I wore a scarf to work yesterday when I was here on time. Hey, Al Gore, it's your problem. Oh, don't get me started. What do you mean? What is it? I don't know. You tell me. What does that mean? Don't get you started with Al Gore. Because then I'm going to have to talk about how I believe in global warming and I'm going to have to get roasted. I probably believe in it. I say probably. I say probably because I'm not smart enough to actually know. Al probably isn't. I think this is part of El Nino. I do, too. Which means, of course, the Nino. The Nino. Which in Spanish means the Nino. I don't know. I just wish it was a little warmer. 5701949. It's the least wonderful time of the year. That's the greatest song.
It lasts for a while, too. I was at the grocery store yesterday, and you can just tell tourists at the grocery store. They were like, so where can I find... I'm looking for marshmallows. We want to do s'mores. I'm like, man. What? Can I just shop in peace? What's wrong with that? You're running around all the stores in town going, do you have penguins? Do you have penguins? Doesn't make you a tourist? I didn't ask. She's from here. I'm from here. I looked over during the song. First of all, I love that song. Sienna's eyes were closed. She looked like Stevie Wonder. I was. Back and forth. She was loving on it. It's some good stuff. I've been waiting for that song for 25 years. Well, of course. She's one of the few people that I know that's actually from here. That's my bit. And I'm like, wow, really, Dad? When I say this joke, every time I meet someone that's from here, I go, oh, one of the few ones. I'm like, really? Did I just say that? You want to know how you know if the shrimp that you're eating and the seafood that you're eating from the Gulf is okay to eat? Oh, and what about Obama? Did he have any of the seafood when he went down there? Dude, you're dumb on the way.

What? Frappé. You're not making any sense. A frappé, as in McCafe Frappé. What are you talking about? McDonald's takes a little coffee magic, iced, serious sweetness, then puts it on a blender and makes a delicious cup of perfection. Wow. In mocha or caramel flavors. Nice. I drop a straw through the whipped cream and chocolate or caramel drizzles, and suddenly I'm on a fast train to Blissville. There room for two on that ride? McDonald's new sweet blended iced McCafe Frappés, made with a hint. So how was your first train to Blissville? Sweet. I'm thinking of making one more stop at the, uh... Caramel Station.

If I had my choice, I'd be sitting on a beach having a Marlboro. Doing nothing. Sitting. Playing my guitar. That's it. Sienna. Yes, I have big boobs. And Jay. I'm so tired. On FM 94.9. Oh, yeah. What movie, Woodsy? Pacino? American Gigolo. Oh. Remind you of your Studio 54 days? Yeah, back in 1977. Seven years old, just blasting cigs at Studio 54 in Manhattan. You and Drew Barrymore hanging out. Me and Drew Barrymore, yeah. Can I get in? Yeah. Nobody photoshopped obese Mikey in front of Studio 54. Seven. Seven. In a white bell-bottom suit.
Oh, my God. Okay. So, Sienna, tell us, how do we know if Gulf seafood is bad? Well, the FDA, the Food and Drug Administration, and the National OSHA Grand... Oceanic. I'm good at combining words these days. Oceanic and Atmospheric Association. They have been stepping up their efforts to make sure that the food is safe. They do tests. State and federal agencies are monitoring all the fish that's caught near the restricted areas where the oil is and to ensure that they're safe. So they say that all the food coming from there is safe. And if it wasn't, they would be able to tell. You would see it on there. There would be a smell. Smell. They do a smell thing where they pick them up. They pick all these shrimp up in their hands. I saw it. They pick all these shrimp up in their hands and they go. Oh, really? Yeah. And then they do this thing. They do this thing where they wave it and they're like trying to get a waft of it. Yeah. They say it's almost impossible for it to ever make it to the market if it's not safe because you can see it. And like Mike said, smell it. Are we not going to talk about LLB at lunch yesterday? It makes me feel real good about my lunch yesterday. We went to lunch at an Italian restaurant and LLB ordered some calamari. Calamari. Well, what was my first question? You said.
I have a question about the shrimp. He said, yes, signora. Yeah, yes, signorita. And that was an Italian place. Signora. Bella. His name was Jose. Si, Bella. And she said, is the shrimp from the Gulf? And all the rest of us suppress laughs. And he said, yes, it is. Yes, of course. Oh, yes, yes. Because he didn't understand a word she said. Nope. It was amazing. Yeah, and then I said, well, in that case, I'll take the calamari. Yeah, straight from Galveston. Straight from the San Diego River. Right. So here's Obama talking about the seafood thing. Dealing with the aftermath of this spill also means protecting the health and safety of the folks who live and work here in Theodore, here in Alabama, and here on the Gulf Coast. As part of this effort. I'm announcing a comprehensive, coordinated, and multi-agency initiative to ensure that seafood from the Gulf of Mexico is safe to eat. Now, I had some of that seafood for lunch, and it was delicious. Did you? But we want to make sure that... How come we have... Yes, Mr. Obama, I have a question. Why do we have photographs of you eating a Carl's Jr. $6 hamburger? What you don't understand is when I said by that seafood, I meant seafood I had flown in. That's all I'm saying.
That's all I'm saying. From Maine. He chewed the food up, opened his mouth and said, you like seafood? Yeah. The food industry down here, as much as possible, is getting the protection and the certification that they need to continue their business. And by as much as possible, I mean not at all, even a little bit. Just so you know. What if we did a little bit of do-do-do? You've known them. You've seen them. They may even be me. They may even have showed up late today. It's time for Dude, You're Dumb. Dude, You're Dumb is that guy. No, I mean really, that guy. That guy standing right across from you, Stephen Woods. Had to be a Tuesday where I came in late. Dude, You're Dumb is... Had to be done, dude. Had to be done. Maki. Maki. So lame. Are you guys done getting the kid yet? Not even close. Roast still going on? What am I, a bitch? Am I talking a moron? I'm going to get you guys real good. We're done. Comes around. Is it 10 o'clock yet? 10 o'clock. Oh, guess roast is just on real good on the kid. Kill me. Kill me. Kill me. Kill me. Kill me. Kill me. We're going to do this bit or what? Kids collecting pennies real good. We're going to do this bit? Yeah. Kid can collect some coins. All right. Mocky. Mocky. Mocky. Dude, I got an English degree and I'm talking like an idiot. Okay? Mocky. Get some Bill Shakespeare out. We'll see who smokes.
Oh, wow. So, dude, you're dumb as those guys you know. Mocky. That drive you nuts. Mocky. Mocky. So stupid. Mocky. God. Stop it. Mocky is it, Tanya? Really, Mock? Yeah, Mocky. You just sit over here. He's baking his head on the microphone. It's going to get somewhere worse. Give me some dude, you're dumbs. No. No, come on. Don't play this way. I don't want to. Don't play this way. Don't play this way. Yeah, Maki, why don't you read it? Okay, I got one for you, dude. Dude who high fives things you don't agree with, dude. Explain it. What a mean is, okay, guy comes in and says, hey, Mike, let's get wasted tonight. Okay. Except a high five. I get it, Woods. You're butchering it. Give it to me. I get it. I get it. That's a guy that says something and high fives you, and you're like, I don't want to high five you. I fundamentally disagree with that. But you don't want to argue. Hey, dude, what's up? Guy's making out. You're like, no. Whoa, I don't want to make out with you. I don't want to make out with you. I don't want to make out. I retract. I retract. Taking it back. And you're already, your arm, your hand is already up going for it. Reactionary. Reactionary, yeah. He's like, what's up, dude? Oil spill. Yeah.
I don't want to high-five to that. R.I.P. Gary Coleman. No, dude. No, no, no. I don't want to high-five to that. The other one I really like. All right, showing up late for work. All right, being perfect. Yeah. Maki. Oh, I can't wait till one of you. I can't wait till one of you screws. Really? Wait. Maki. Maki. Maybe I sabotaged somebody's car. Really? This one I really love, and you'll see it a million times a day on your Facebook. The guy or girl who changes their status from in a relationship to single every two freaking weeks. Yeah. Are we in high school? Wait, wait, wait. Don't forget about the it's complicated in between stages. Oh, yeah. I'm in a relationship, but it's complicated. Really? Don't even bother. switches back and forth, and you see 40 people write, what happened? Yes! Glad you guys worked it out. Call me, girl. Call me. Anyone who puts it's complicated just wants all of the attention in the world. Why would you even put that? I wonder how complicated it actually is. On a break, maybe? But why do you even need to put that? It's so complicated.
He's not that into me. It's so complicated. He doesn't even know yet that we're in a relationship. It's so complicated. He has no idea we've been dating for four months. Yeah, but I'm just stalking his Facebook page, so he better update his relationship status. I have a couple of young friends, youngish, 26, 27-year-old guys, and that's their big thing. Their girlfriends would get mad at them. They're like... why doesn't your Facebook say that you're in a relationship? And they're like, because I'm not in eighth grade. And like, if you don't put that up by the end of the day, this is over. I'm not doing this anymore. Because I saw girls writing on your wall. I'm like, holy cow. So they're for real. Oh, they're dead serious. It's such a whole new dimension. It's making me want to delete my Facebook again. To relationships, really. It is adding a new thing. Something that just didn't exist. In fact, you know the show, The Last Comic Standing? Yes. This is actually pretty good. Talking about that very subject of the social networking and what it adds. I think all these websites, this MySpace stuff, we just swap photos and everything. I think it's bad. I think it's bad for dating. If you're in a relationship and you're on these photos swapping chat sites, it's just one more thing for you and your girlfriend to argue about. And that's what creates tension in a relationship is drama. It's just one more thing causing drama. Why do you think your grandparents made it? You ever hear somebody bragging?
About the grandparents. I believe in true love. My grandma and granddad have been together 62 years. That's because your grandma never had to check his Facebook page. They never had that argument. I'm pretty sure your granddad didn't come home a couple hundred years ago and have to explain why Eunice was on his Twitter account. Who is Eunice? Why are you tripping? We just picked cotton together. We're at the same plantation. That's all it is. Holy cow. Now you guys understand why I don't want Todd to have a Facebook. I couldn't agree more. What a winner. That's your winner for Last Comic City. That was brilliant. Yeah, I love it. Why is Eunice on your Twitter? Why is Eunice on your Twitter? I didn't do anything. What's so big about Harriet Tubman that you have to keep retweeting it? That's so awesome. It's so awesome. But it's true. There is a lot of the relationship out of a relationship. It's complicated. This one came directly from Cubby Bear. Cubby Bear Mikey. Mocky? Little Mocky. Mocky. As I call him, Mock. Mocky. Mocky. You guys are clowns. I have 900 coupons, lady, in front of you at Vaughn's, when all Mike has is a bag of chips and salsa. Weird. How about you get in the express lane, Mock? Because sometimes the express lane is just as long. How about you do the self-checkout, Mock? He doesn't know how.
It's easy. He doesn't know how. We'll try it. He doesn't know how. How about you harvest your own salsa? What's she supposed to do? The woman is trying to save money. How about you harvest your own salsa? I mean, let's get real here. But the woman is trying to save money. She has taken the time to cut out the coupons. She obviously wants to, you know, save a few bucks. Yeah. And you do. You save a lot of money. Yes, you do. Have you ever used a coupon? Yes, I have. Never. I have. My dad cuts coupons. He loves it. Let me tell you. Your dad, you have. He's sent me with coupons before. Coupon bit's great. The worst is standing there while they beep, beep. Oh, stop. It's quick. I'm with you, dude. Yeah, I feel like there's two things that that lady could have done to alleviate the situation. Number one, let you go first, but then she's got to make sure there's four other clowns behind you with just one or two things. Or turn around and be like, sorry. You know? Either way, it's a beating. She has a right to save money. The neighbor bit? We kind of talked about it. I meant to email it to Woods last night. Weird. Forgot. Maybe we should roast you then for the next four hours. Maybe become prepared to work. I don't know. Maybe just be prepared. Really? You really want to go there, Pat? What happened to sports today? Maybe she came to work. Maybe they showed up. The neighbor that refuses to say hi back to you.
Or for that matter, the person that you keep seeing on your jog circuit that just refuses the return hi. You're like, hi. And they're just... Excuse me. I broke one of those people recently. Wait a minute. I said hi. What if the person doesn't hear it? You see them all the time? You throw the hand out. Text message me. Remember? All the time. On my flight? No. Last Friday. What? Friday, leaving work. Oh, yeah. How did you know? Because I said. I felt awful. Oh, weird, weird. Bromance. He was all upset. You spun him out for the whole weekend. What happened? What did you do, Mike? Mike has a thing where he doesn't hear me quite often. It isn't just you. It's not just you. Isn't it? No. No. It's not. Sometimes it's Jay. It's, I don't. Well, here's the thing. He comes, when he comes into the room, we're already here. Yeah. You guys are gone. If you come into his world, he's.
Not seeing you. Right. When he comes into your world. Then I hear it. But once I start on the computer, gone's out. No, I know. And I don't, I'm not mad. I'm just, I feel like, cause you've made comments before when I say, hi Mike, and then you won't say anything. And then I'll be like, hi Mike. And you're like, oh, and I'm glad you finally, you said hi. Cause I was thinking you were in a bad mood. Like you've done that before. And I'm like, well, I did say hi a few times. You just didn't hear me. And so now I want to like go out of my way and say it like five times to make sure you don't think I'm being rude. The way that you do it is you come right, right up behind me. Hi, Mike. Hi, Mike. Hi, Mike. Well, my big, I mean, I just, I don't want anyone to think that I'm being rude and just leaving because you guys were all going to lunch and I wasn't feeling good. And so I didn't want you to think that I was a party pooper. Have I done that with you guys too? Yeah. I do. Like I said, if we come into like your world and you're already in the zone, sometimes it takes two or three times.
But the high on the street guy, that's still like, all right, I contact Establish and you decided to divert your eye attention somewhere else and you're choosing not to acknowledge me. And we've lived in the same building for over a year. Why don't you call that minding his own business? Oh, come on. It's common courtesy. We have a neighbor, too. Jamie, the other day was our neighbors that we now think. hate us for probably because of our dogs barking. Yeah. Jamie walked in. She goes, hi. And the guy literally looked at her and just looked away. I get that. And I was like, I'm going over there. I'm going to go say something. No. 100%. Say something. Why did you say hi to my wife? No. Marky. What's your problem? Maybe I take my belt off. Like my dad. Mm-hmm. You may need him to wake you up one morning, so I wouldn't get on his back side. We might have to call him the next time you sleep in. We have a neighbor that when he drives by the house, he'll look the other way on purpose not to have to wave. So I get out there and I get in the road and I'm like, hey, how you doing? I say hi to every single person I pass. See, I am that guy, and so I understand the psychology behind it. Why do you do it? You're not rude. No.
It isn't about rudeness. There's a difference, though. You know when somebody's in space and they're spaced out and when they're being a D. When you just pass, you're like the only two on the street and you pass each other. What are you going to do? Are you going to look down? Well, just because somebody doesn't say hi doesn't mean they're a D. Because I've been that guy. Honestly, I'm just telling you, it's because I'm uncomfortable. Saying, hey, how you doing? Yes. What if they say hi to you first? Great lovely afternoon, isn't it? Just throw the chin. Just give them the... Throw the chins at him like I do. Do the toothless smile. Sometimes. Give him a black tooth. Close mouth smile. Give him a black tooth. Mike, just smile. Just be friendlier. That's not nice to just ignore him. I feel phony. Why? I feel like that's so... phony did you read the social graces book i got you no i have it in my i have it in my little briefcase i'm telling you if i walked by someone i've never seen in my life and they don't even look up and at least acknowledge i'm there i'm like okay jerk yeah and by the way this doesn't mean that i because i do enjoy when i'm out and listeners say hi because i feel like i know m1s even if we've never met i feel like i know them as long as they're polite yep you know
If they say something rude or weird that makes me uncomfortable, that's a bummer. But what about the guy like, let's just say that you jog and let's say you're on a jog. Let's say you're on a jog and you pass someone in the neighborhood and they give you like the, like out of breath, like quick little smile high. Yeah. You can't just act like you didn't like, that's what I hate. People just, no, I'm just choosing. Yeah, I'm not going to say hi to you. To not return that little gesture. That drives me nuts. Got another little tip for you, San Diegans. Somebody holds a door for you, maybe say thanks. Yeah, agreed. How about that bit? Agreed. Or I got another two words you can use. Excuse me. Yeah. How about that? That one's good, too. Social graces. Kid's about to wreck some shop down at Albertson's in San Marcos. About to take my nightclub down there. Yeah, that's going to be real good. Because what? Rude. People. Everywhere. Surrounded. Can I tell you, I broke one person recently. And I'm so proud of myself for it. I would walk because I walk by the beach and stuff. I try to do a little walking now. And I see this one old lady walk by the beach every single day. Same time she goes on this walk. And every day I pass her, I'm like, hi, how are you? Nothing. Doesn't look at me. Doesn't say anything. Nothing. Hi, how's it going? Have a good day. Like just nothing. Nothing. This has been going on for months. Finally, like two days ago. Hi. She said.
Hi. Oh, yes. I'm not kidding. I went home. I was like, Todd, you know that lady I was telling you? I was so happy. I bet that was so hard for her. Kids lived in my house for 90 days. I've met one neighbor. One. Maybe you stopped complaining about their campfires. One. Great point, L.O.B. And that's the neighbor I met, L.O.B. One. How about the person who doesn't wave at you when you let them in? How about that? When you let them in what? In the car. When you wave them to get into traffic, you cut them a little break? I'll intentionally slow up to let them into the traffic. And all I want is a little, hey, nice day. That was good stuff, brother. Hey, we're all on the same team kind of thing. We're all human beings. We all have blood coursing through our veins. The courtesy wave back always gets me good. That's all I want. You know if somebody lets you, if you're on foot and they let you, and you always mouth the thank you? Yeah, and you don't actually say it. And the guys, there was a cop the other day that let me walk by and I went, hang on. And his window was open. Then I went, oh, thanks. Thank you. It was so awkward. 570-1949-M1-Josh from Spring Valley. How you doing? Good, man. Love your show. You guys won me over. Thank you, bro. Thank you, Josh. Yeah, you're right. My kids listen to you every morning on the way to school. That's great. Awesome. That's great.
A couple weeks ago, me and my 11-year-old were walking into a store, and I held the door open for an older woman. I mean, I went out of my way to hold the door open, and she ignored me. It's not a character for me, but I'm like, you're welcome. Yeah, I'll do that sometimes. My son laughed, but he actually wanted me to tell you where he's in the car right now. Something that happened last week. I was at the ATM, and there's two of them outside my bank. And this woman walks up, and it's in El Cajon. She's smoking a cigarette, and the smoke's blowing right in my face. And I don't like cigarettes very much. And it's just blowing right in my face. And all of a sudden, I start just hacking, you know, just baking off. Yes. And she didn't say anything. I got back in the car, and the kids were laughing. Classic. Isn't it amazing we have to put up with this? These... People. Thanks for the call, man. Sure, though. Take care. Have a good day. Thanks, Josh. If I hold the door, like sometimes I go out of my way and I'm like, all right, it's clear that I'm standing here for four seconds. For you. Holding the door open for someone. Yeah. You're going to walk right through it and just keep looking at your cell phone? Really? You think I work here? I was blasting a cig in my car the other day. Came up to a stoplight and there was a car that wasn't directly next to me, but I could see kind of out of the corner of my eye. This broad looks over, shakes her head.
And I could hear her go, you were probably on your phone. No. I was smoking a cigarette. You were not on your phone? No, it wasn't on my phone. It stinks at my car as well. Rolled up her window. Sorry. Rolled up her window. Hey, if she doesn't want it in her car, there's nothing wrong with that. Maybe you got to give her a smack. M1 Sticky Toes from Encinitas. Hey, Mikey. How you doing today? Good. All right. Love the show. M1 to death. Just want to let you know, with the self-checkouts, they have them in Spanish. Wow, that's pretty good. I guess I'm just going to be over here getting roasted. Mocky. Mocky. It's just a mocky roast today, huh? I hate you all. Wake up on time. Mocky. When do you think that Woodsy will stop hearing about being late today? Never. Never. It's not going to happen. It will never happen. Maybe on his deathbed you can be like, you know what? You forgive me. I forgive you. I forgive you, man. I was late once, too. So.
You guys want to hear what it sounds like when our little boy, Lukey, is getting sung a lullaby by my sweet wife, Rebecca? Oh, yeah. I see what that might sound like. Yeah. It's really interesting. Let's see. Just give me four more years. Hey, we should do it right after the commercial break. Yeah, that's right. Is that right? Let's briggity break. Bring it on back. You know what? We'll do it after the commercial break. We's late. 570-1949. Or tech. 949mikey at gmail.com. How did you morons even get in here? More coming up on FM 94.9. Hey, guys. I don't know. Apparently, all these ingredients are found in your leading iced teas and sodas, many of which are calling themselves all natural in quotes. Yeah, not. so much. These are so-called ingredients that they say are coming from the earth and they're organic. I don't think so. Here's another list of ingredients I have. It's purified water, organic green tea leaves, organic cane sugar, organic honey. That's more like it to me. That's organic. That's refreshing. It's natural. A little cure, jumping someone else's train. His name is Song. And welcome back to Mikey Show. Mikey. Mikey Show. Mikey. What's he? You know what's... He got you. You just got toothed. Yeah, you just gave me a black tooth. You know what what's he said during the break? He goes, when you say that, Mikey thing powers me down. Spins me out. I don't like it. Oh, shit. Oh, I thought you were talking about the swigety swat. That's what he was talking about. I was talking about that. Yeah. You were? Yes. Maybe you listened. The swigety swigety swat. That powers me down. That powers me down. It really does. No, it does not. Don't you dare stop, Mike. How could it? I don't like it. No. Makes me feel very uncomfortable. Don't you dare stop. Makes me feel uncomfortable. He is not serious. You stab it right now, Mr. Woods. You are serious? No, he's not. Don't. It kind of throws me off a little, too, if I'm talking to you. What?
When I'm trying to get stuff together and you guys are all singing, I'm like, I'm real glad you guys are having fun over there while I'm trying to get ready for the show. We're trying to be dynamic, Sienna and I over here. I love it. They cannot be serious. I will think about this today. Do not think about it. They're being facetious. If you're not ready when the music kicks on, then you're never going to be ready. I wait till the last minute to get things from Woods and Mike. So they wait till the last minute and then I have to prepare. After the lateness that they ensue on me. What they're talking about is when we start the show, we play No More Sorrow by Linkin Park. Was that the name of it? No More Sorrow. No More Sorrow. No More Sorrow. Yeah. There, listen. It's this bit. And every once in a while, Mikey would start off singing along to the instrumental. This is what you would have heard this morning if you had been here. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's true. So we play this. The microphones haven't even opened yet. And this will be playing. Everybody's getting their papers together. And I start banging my head. And I go... Every morning. Every morning. And I'm trying to read and get stories together. That Mikey told me five seconds before that. Yep.
You did it for so long before any of us said anything. I don't even think people notice. I just do it every day. Woods goes, it's a weird bit. And I've been laughing now. Every time you do sweetie de swat, I die. Yeah, she slays her. Yeah, I don't even, it's not even conscious. Now you'll think about it. It's conscious now, you guys. You and Lauren make a big deal about it. I love it. I like it. Spinning out. I don't like it. It's a good thing half the time you're not here to do it. Half the time. There you go. Maybe the kid wakes up early. Half the time. It's a good thing you wake up to this as your alarm. Oh, Darren has the best woodsy late jokes. Oh, yeah. She's great. This is all off the cuff, folks. Yeah. You know what? It's called improv. It's called improv. Oh, my God. She's working the room. Someone had to be dynamic today. That's right. Fifty-three minutes. We're almost there, Woodsy. Yeah, and then we get to go hang out. Yeah, great. So you want to hear what happens when my wife sings a lullaby to our 10-month-old son, Luke, who has an attitude already at 10 months old? Yes. Okay, Lukey, time for bed. Great, bedtime already. Oh, what an original song. I haven't heard this one 3,000 times. Oh, yeah, cradle rocks. Yeah, the bow's breaking.
Yeah, yeah, great. Wrap it up. I want to go to bed. La, la, la, la. Yeah, great, great, great. Here, here, here, here. Yeah, yeah, great. Maybe sing it one more time. Oh, man, this is great. Maybe mix it up a little bit. How about a little Zeppelin? How about a little Deftones? No? Yeah, bow's breaking. Perfect. Maybe go sing to Ryan. I'm tired. Yeah, great. All right, get. Wow. She's the voice of an angel. Wow. Does she sing that to you every night, Mike? Oh, yeah. Woods came over yesterday. Woods came over yesterday. Jake is bouncing off the walls to see him. Luke, or Ryan, gets a big giant smile. He walks up to Luke. Luke, he stares at him. Stares a hole through me. And I'm like, I'm doing everything I can. I'm like, hello, my baby. Hello, my doll. And he's looking at me like, I can't wait to get out of here. Yeah. He's like, oh, you're the radio guy, right? Oh, yeah, funny. Mr. Funny guy. He's been again. Yeah. Oh. Are you the baseball team guy? Yeah. I play baseball. Number 22. I get it. Yeah, you two, too. Yeah. Double do's. Double do's. Are they crawling around now? Oh, standing.
Yeah, he's standing. No way. Luke was standing yesterday. Like, leaning against tables? Hold on to the table. Luke's ready to walk. He'll be jumping hurdles in, like, three weeks. Oh, my gosh. It's so exciting. Luke's ready to walk. It's exciting, but scary. Well, you child-proofed, right? Yeah. That's what's so scary. The little faces on corners just terrifies me. Ryan's face is, like, totally black and blue from falling on the tile. Oh, no. I mean, you cannot childproof enough. You can't. You'd have to have rubber floors. Yeah, rubber floors. Bubble walls. Yeah, have him live in a bubble. Live in a bubble. He does the thing. Both of them do the thing where they'll sit up on their knees. And then they go to walk, you know, to crawl. And one arm goes down and slips. And slips out. Bam, bam. And it's always the, here's what happens. There's a second and a half between it. So you hear. Yeah. So it's first you hear the thud, and then you go, wait for it, wait for it, scream. It's part of the learning process. Oh, it kills me. Because you can tell, especially when they have a painful cry, and there's actual tears just flowing. Little Jake got me yesterday, dude, when he pinched his finger. Of all of them, of Luke, Ryan, and Jake, Lukey has a cry when he gets hurt where you just go,
Get me out of here. Let me out of here. Let me out of here. Get me the hell out of here. Baby tears are the saddest things I've ever seen. I feel like Ryan has never even cried. Ryan crying is completely manageable because it doesn't last long. He does his little cry. It's out of his system. Jakey is the... most heartbreaking little try. It almost brings tears to my eyes. He pinched his little finger yesterday. I pinched mine on purpose. He was watering. We had a little thing and we were out back and we were watering the plants. And he squeezed his finger in the gripper. And when it happened, he was you could tell that it hurt so bad that he was kind of like You know, like doing the hop, you know? Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. And the big crocodile tears pour over the eyes, you know? Oh. Oh, it breaks your heart. When Liberty was a baby, we walked into a Denny's with this other couple. It was early morning. Weird. And Kim had her sitting like this, facing forward, and we sat down at the table. When she did, Liberty swung forward and hit her head on the table. Oh, boy. Kim goes, Kim goes, get up, get up, get up, get up, get up. She steps up.
Has time to walk all the way to the door. Liberty the whole time is just like... The build-up. The build-up. Erupting like a volcano. It was... Like, her head was going to explode. Tears were just, we couldn't even go back in. At last, she cried for 40 minutes. They just broke. Kim felt like the worst mom in the entire world. I mean, you know, kids bump and kids hurt themselves. Oh, that's what I'm so scared of. Kim was crying. I was crying. It'll happen. Like, Sienna, remember this conversation and just know it's okay. Yeah, I know. Remember this conversation because it happens and you feel terrible. Oh, I'm so scared. You just have to know it's totally okay. My mom and dad were telling me about when my brother, their oldest child, was a baby and they had him in like this Moses bassinet and each of them were holding a handle and one of the handles broke.
And so he went wham right on the floor and swung right out of it. And my dad's like, oh, probably the worst fight your mom and I ever got in because that's our first baby. Just got him infant, you know, and stuff like that happens. And it's like you have to be like, OK, I'm not going to kill my spouse because this happened. It's not their fault. It was an accident. And I'm just like, oh, God, oh, God, like be have the strength. Watch out, Todd. Watch out. First one. I know it. Don't touch that child. First one's the toughest. Rebecca left me with Jake for the first time yesterday. First time she ever left me with Jake. She leaves. I put him on the bed. We have a really, really high bed. Well, high for me. It's normal size. It's two feet off the ground. But for me, I've got to throw a rope. Get a running start. No, but it's a high bed. And I put Jake up there and he was just learning to crawl. And he crawled. Over to the other side of the bed. And then he sat down and he leaned back. And just right back. Went right off the bed. Holy. I'll tell you what. Dude, I thought I was going to die. Oh my gosh. Oh, I cried. It was like, I felt like I was the worst human being on the planet that I would have allowed him.
And he was smiling. Like, he sat up. And he had just had a good time that he had just crawled over there. And he was smiling. And then he leaned back in the smile. And it was like terror. Slow motion. Slow motion. You just can't watch them 24-7. I've been terrified since the day my niece was born that I'm going to drop her. And that I'm going to. Oh, man. I feel that way, too. Really? Yeah. What you have to remember is it's happened for millions of years, man. And their bodies are able to take that. I just feel like I'll carry her in that little car seat and I'll be going downstairs and these terrible pictures flash through my head like, oh, the handle's going to break. I'm going to be holding it and the baby's going to roll down the stairs. I trip as it is, so I'm like, I'm going to be the one that's holding the baby and I'm going to trip. I'm getting those now being pregnant, walking downstairs. I'm like, I bet. My mom was walking with Ryan the other day and in my mind... I picture she's going to step on a toy. Oh, gosh. Yeah. She's going to fall. Why do we do that? Because we're insane. Because we're nuts. We prepare ourselves, I think, for worst case scenario so that when the little bumps and bruises happen, we can be like, it's just okay. It's okay. Well, you would have had to tell me that when Jake was born because the little bumps and bruises still affected me like so terribly. You'd have care flight over. Oh, yeah. Now I'm, I mean, we called the fire department. Amazing. That's right. I read that story. Yeah.
A fire engine. See, I mean... A fire engine came to our home. He was coughing, right? He was fine by the time he got there. No, I meant the firefighter. Really? Well, Jasper got 22... I told you the story about Jasper getting 22 stitches in his bottom lip. Oh, that's a lot of stitches. He hit his face on the... His thing was, he's got a giant head. Hope he's not listening. But when he was little, he would whip his head down when he was standing up. When he saw me, he's like, he's so happy to see me. Bam, he hits his lip right on the gate. His lip explodes like nothing I've ever seen. 22 stitches. But the worst part was they put his arms in this pillowcase and had him lay on it. Oh, no. Because you have to restrain him somehow. They'll freak out. And so, you know, he was two or three. He was a little bitty. And they came in, they stitched him up. And he didn't really talk all that well, but he had a word for outside. He was like, I lie, I lie. He kept saying that. He wanted to go outside so bad. I was like, in a minute, buddy. Oh, my God. I'm going to cry. I'm seriously going to cry. That kills me. Oh, I'm terrified. Jakey, yesterday, I was, like, my eyes, like, welled up. Yeah. When he looked over and looked up at me and his eyes were filled with tears. I was like. Does it make you want to cry? It does. It almost did. And I was like. I'm going to cry now. I did it, too. I did it, too. They're so innocent. And the tears of pain. Oh, my gosh. And all I can think of. I'll kneel down by him. I'll put my arms around him. And all I think of is.
If I was a little kid, what would make me feel better than anything right now? And so, you know, I tell him a funny German joke. You have to like run and fall on the floor or something. Just hold him. Yeah, I do. Kiss his cheek. Kiss his cheek and tell him it's all right, buddy. When I told him, I go, look, look. I go, ow, ow, ow, Jake, I got it too. And he looked, he goes. He stopped and he goes, where? Where is it? I'm like, it's right there. He's like, okay. It made him feel a little bit better. That he was not alone in the pain. M1, David from Poway. How you doing, Mikey? Good. Yeah, back when my little girl was an infant, my wife and I, we were loading her up into her car seat. And you know how they got that chubby little fat on their legs? When they're a little baby. I know it's coming. I know it's coming. Once you go click, the car seat in it pinched her little baby fat. Oh. The little roll. It hurt so bad, I bet. It drew blood. Oh, no. No, no, no. Baby. Yeah. And for years, my little girl, literally for years, she was afraid to get buckled into the car seat. I would have to do this little thing like, don't worry, we're not going to pinch you every single time.
My little niece has an Aldi belly button, and I'm afraid every time that I'm going to pinch her little belly button in the car seat. Yeah. Hey, so, David. Yeah. I think the even bigger question is, did your wife get over the trauma? Actually, I had to console my wife as much as I did in my little car. Oh, I bet. I bet. It was terrible. In fact, I felt that as much. bad for my wife as I did for my little girl because, you know, just the very idea of doing that to your kid, you know, you want to smack yourself in the face. Yeah. When we got our dog, Zipper, when she was a puppy, I was sitting on the bed and she was sitting on the bed with me and we have a high bed and she, like, moved really quick and jumped off the bed and her little legs, it was too much. She's a wiener dog, short little legs. And so when she went down, she went, like, this loud cry. Like, we had her for two days and she was limping and I was like, oh my God. Like screaming, crying, tears. I cried for like an hour. I was like, what am I going to do when I have a child? Yeah, we had, I gave Sonny a little tiny piece of a Jack in the Box curly fry. Yeah. And he ate it and got sick. And he actually had, I can't remember what it was called, a pancreatitis. And we had to put him in the vet. Because of the fry? Because of the fry. Oh my goodness. It was like the spices or something. He got pancreatitis. A thousand bucks.
He went overnight, and we went to see him. We went to visit him. Of course. And he looked up at me with these giant brown eyes, and he was hooked up to an IV. And I was like. Oh, my God. I ran out of there. Oh, dude. And then Penny got bit by a spider, and there was this big black hole on her leg. Dude, I was driving to the vet with Jamie at the emergency hospital. bawling crying. I was like, I'm never going to be able to have kids. I can't. Yes, you can. I'm telling you, it stretches your heart to the limit. The limit. It was too much. It stretches your heart to the limit when your kid hurts himself. It's good, though. It's good for the world to have a big heart and put it back out there. The baby had hiccups last night for the first time. I felt it in my stomach. And it's like, you can tell it's hiccups because it's like a consistent beat, you know? And I was like, oh my gosh, Todd, is this hiccups? Do I need to sit up? Am I doing something wrong? I think there's hiccups. He's like, babe, chill out. It's normal.
Okay, well, like, should I drink water? Like, will that help the hiccups go away? Drink it upside down. Have a spoonful of sugar. Hold your breath. Yeah, but it's not me with hiccups. It's the baby. All I'm telling you is, thank goodness that, you know, Todd is there to chill you out. Oh, I know. With me and Rebecca, it was like this. The baby's hiccuping. Is everything okay? I bet it's not. I bet it isn't. I bet something's wrong. Oh, my God, something's wrong, right? It's normal, yeah. A lot of babies hiccup. Todd's done it before. He has Jenna, you know, and it's so reassuring. If I ask him a question, he knows the answer. I'll be you and Rebecca. Both of you guys wrapped into me. That'll be me, and Jamie is like the cool, calm, motherly, thank God for her. Yeah, Jamie's cool as a cucumber. Balance each other out. Absolutely. Real good for the kid. She didn't wake me up this morning, though. Oh, boy. Maybe it wasn't her alarm clock that failed. Maybe you get a Duracell. It's not her job. Maybe somebody gets a Duracell in their alarm clock. Maybe.
Maybe Mikey told you to do that. Did he? Yeah, I think he did. I don't recall that. Oh, I do. I was standing right there. No, you weren't. I was standing there when Mikey told you. What are you doing creeping around there? I was standing there. We hadn't even invented you yet. Trust me. I was invented and I was standing right there. You're just a figment of my imagination, Hoyle. Is that right? Yeah, it is. Wow. Big men of your imagination? Yes, and Mikey's together. Hoyle is more upset than Mikey about you being late, Woods. I'm more upset that Woodsy says that he invented me. It was at the pro shop that I was invented. Yes. By? It was the both of you. It was both of us. Maki? It was me and Maki. Maki. Whoever the hell that is. Woods and Maki? Woods and Mikey. One of these days, I wonder if we could have the person that sort of inspired the Hoyle character. Zero percent? No. Zero percent? It would never happen? No, we hated each other. Oh. Weird. Really? Anybody have anything sweet? I would love something sweet. I feel like, Jimmy, go get you something out of the machine? All I know is I just ate some of the trail mix that L.O.B. brought in. It's so healthy. Tasted like wood. It's bird seed. Bird seed. Yeah, birds would be like...
Want to throw some sugar in there? Yeah, you got a cheesecake in here, dude. This is repugnant. Can we get you something out of the machine, buddy? I lost 50 bucks bending down to pick up this trail mix. We got to talk about that, too. When we come back, I'm going to play you audio from a 16-year-old girl who describes exactly what it feels like to be bitten by a shark, because she just was. You're part of the Mikey Show now. They have these boxes of M&Ms and they seem like a big box, you know, and you open it up and there's inside of that is a little pouch of like nine M&Ms. What? Yeah. Double packaging? It's like getting a bag of chips sometimes and you're like, oh man, this thing is plump. Yeah. It's all air. It's like air. There's four chips. I actually wrote. A chip company. No way. I sent an email. I was like the Jimmy Dean sausage guy. So that's why they put contents may have shifted during shipping. I wrote them. I was like, dude, I just opened. There was four chips inside. I came back to my desk. I had a sandwich. I had my hoagie. I was ready to go. Wow. Four chips. It wasn't literally four? Doritos? It was like eight. Four. Was there really four chips? I called my wife and I was like, can you believe this? She's like, you have nothing better to do at work. I was like, I'm writing them. I'm writing them. Did they write me back? No, they didn't write me back. Oh, it was like a canned response. Like, we will look into your inquiry, and I never heard that. They didn't give you like a free bag of chips? No, nothing. You should have. I know. That ain't right. Mm-mm. They got to make restitution. They do. 16-year-old girl got attacked by a shark. Oh, God. Please don't say San Diego. No. Florida. Weird. Her name's Hannah Foster, and she describes it. Take a listen.
So, Hannah, you're in the water. You're enjoying some time. School's out. A little boogie boarding. How did you realize that there was a shark biting on you? I didn't even consider anything else could have hurt that bad. I could kind of feel all the teeth inside my skin. She could feel all the teeth inside of her skin. Oh, my gosh. And the shark was like, and I was like. I know. And I was like, what is this shark? Get your jaws off me. Oh, my God. And the shark was off. Shark was all, I didn't even know. She's a little girl. I didn't even know. This is totally BS. And the shark was all, sorry. I'm going to have a freaking scar on my calf now. The shark's all, I didn't even know. If I'd known, I wouldn't even bit you. OMG. I would have gone after that chubby guy, that Mexican guy on the boogie board. Why really? You know what?
Maybe a Mexican guy on the biggie bar is cute. I would have gone after the guy that didn't show up to work on time. Why is the shark all of a sudden the valley girl now? Maybe I got up on time today and I was hungry, so I want to get something to eat. Maybe I was totally hungry and I was like, oh my gosh, I want to feast on woods. Wait, he's not at work. He's not here. I don't know where to go. Where can I find him? Oh, I know where to find him. I bet he's totally in his bed. Sleeping. Oh, wow. People surf in their beds? Yeah. Maybe he's surfing in his bed. No, he's couch surfing. He's totally surfing the internet instead of showing up for work. Yeah. Maybe he has surfed his way into dreamy dreamy lab. Really? Maybe he surfs his way to a battery store. Channel surfing. That's what I was trying to come up with. Maybe he starts his way onto the internet. Is this going to be the bit when I make a joke about anybody? Maybe we get here on time. Just for today. Well, maybe this week. Maybe this month. Or this year. Fiscal year. How quickly we all forget the nice things that the kid does. Is that right? The kid just shares M&Ms. Just shared M&Ms with everyone. It's true.
We got new releases. We do. Got some new stuff that's out today. See if I recognize any of it. Drake is out. Thank me later. Bear with me. It could take a bit. Oh, whoa. And my dreams are who I'm racing with. But you can see I'm pacing it so that I'm always chasing it. Wayne put me right here. That's who I get the paper with. I hope that my success never alters our relationship. Yeah, this life is something I would die for. October zone, but it's looking like July 4. Sounds like everybody's doing a Jay-Z imitation. Sounds like telequality to me. Yeah. No, that doesn't. That sounded good. That's like Keith Sweat or something. When we did that, it sounded good. Really? To me, it did. I'm excited about the next one. Oh, no. I'm great. It means it's going to be something new from Aladdin. No way. It's going to be Miley, and you're going to be all in on it. All right, maybe. No, Mikey. It's a Madagascar soundtrack. Mikey and Woods are pretty close. What is it? Randy Newman, Toy Story 3 soundtrack. Oh, my gosh. He's the worst. Why is he the worst? You got a friend to me.
She's right. You got a friend in me. He's the worst. That's the greatest. I love LA. You got a friend in me. I love it. Short people got to know me. He's the worst. It's perfect for Toy Story. It's like Weird Al Yankovic and Randy Newman. Stop. He's like the official spokesperson for Toy Story. Yeah. You know who plays Randy? You know who plays Randy Newman? Dr. Demento plays Randy Newman. Stop. You got a friend in me. Who else? Oasis, Time Flies, 1994 to 2009. That's Honey Pal. Is that another best song? I'll buy it today. It's 15 years. Maybe they should have stayed together and actually put out some stuff. Maybe two brothers got to get along. It's so good. It's so good. It never gets old. That song never gets old to me.
It feels the way I do about you now. That's too bad. John Mellencamp on the rural route, 7609. That one I don't have. Okay, Steve Winwood, Revolutions, the very best of. That's not what I think of when I think of Steve Winwood. No, I think of like... Yes, exactly. Did you guys see him perform at the Super Bowl? He performed right before the Super Bowl started out in the parking lot. With Eskimo? They had a few people out in the parking lot performing. Didn't sound anything like Steve Wynwood anymore. He was like, bring me in higher love. I would never be on the same ticket as Steve Wynwood. Really? Who is that guy? Come on, Eskimo. If they had invited you to play the parking lot. They did. They did? Yeah, my dad had tickets and he asked me to go, but I didn't go, okay? I had to be dynamic.
You had other things to do? Yes. Did you end up playing like a Super Bowl party that day or something? No, I wasn't invited to any parties. I was riding in my Mustang. She lives out of her Mustang. I don't believe she actually does live out of her Mustang. I think she makes that up to sound like Jewel because Jewel lived out of her van. I think she lives in PB somewhere. Yeah, I think she lives in PB in a nice apartment. I think OB. I am too sophisticated for PB. Really? I'm pretty sure I saw a bus pass last time she was here. Is that right? Yeah, Jay, you want to throw me under that bus? Thanks a lot. All aboard. All aboard. Also on today, Robin, Body Talk, Part 1. Wow, she's back. Oh, my. She's the one that's saying that she had short blonde hair from, like, the late 90s. Maki's all the way in. Look at him. Yes, that's auto-tune. You love it. I'm listening to this, and I'm trying to get into it. Oh, I know what she's saying. Oh, that was a good song. Could be that there's three women singing at the same time. It's all her. Yo, do you remember that song? Do you know what it takes to do my rest? Or whatever she says. That was a jam. That was good. The like, release me. Where do you listen to this? On my headphones. While you're running? While you're trying on jeans, maybe. Maybe that's why I don't listen. You're making love, dude. Really? Making love to this? This is love making? No, it's not love making.
This is gym shopping. They play it at the Gap. Yeah, that's what you listen to when you're shopping for girl jeans. Yeah, getting ready for a sock hop, maybe. Another good one. Okay, I'm going to say this wrong. I'm going to apologize ahead of time. Frankenritter. Yes, Donovan Frankenritter. Donovan Frankenritter rocks some Sanooks. I never. Never heard of him? He's from Orange County? He's a surfer. Yeah. He's sponsored by Snook. He's very quiet. He's a quiet fella. I think he's buddies with Jack Johnson and all those guys. Yeah, I could see that. Real laid back. Nose three chords. Ready for the DVDs? Yeah. What do you got? The Book of Eli. Oh, today? Denzel Washington, yep. I already saw it. Dude. You don't even watch movies that you own. You're excited about watching a movie you've already seen? I want Rebecca to see this movie so bad. She won't see it. She goes, if you take me to see Valentine's Day, I'll watch Book of Eli. Well, she got Valentine's Day on demand. Yeah. I still like that movie. Love Book of Eli. I thought it was really good. Yeah, it's out today. Is it on Blu-ray? Do you know? Yeah, all the new movies come out on Blu-ray now. Sienna slept through that one.
Yeah, she did. Shanna slept while we saw Book of Eli. No, but I slept through all the other ones for longer. She was in her first trimester. She was tired. You liked that one the most. Yeah, that one I liked the most. This one I did not. Youth and Revolt, Michael Cera. Yeah! Is also out today. I can't wait. I'm watching it tonight. Wood saw it twice in theater. And I'm going to watch it tonight. He cracked up. Yeah, he did. It's brilliant. And all of us were like... Read the book. It's an interesting flick. You liked it. It's an intelligent comedy. I wouldn't watch it again. I'd watch it if it was on the plane. M1 Ashante from RB, are you there? I'm here. What'd you want to tell me about that song from... The song you just played about, like, I don't know, about jeans. Girl trying on jeans is a gap. We don't play that at the gap. I swear we don't. That's because it just came out. Maybe Old Gravy does. Give it a little time. Maybe you guys will play it. Probably not. All right. Forever 21. Yep. We get, like, pre-selected CDs of all the music that we get to play in the store, and some of the music's actually really good. I like it. I'm sure. What about the Brath Plum at Nordstrom? They play a great jam. The Brath Plum. What is that? It's a section of Nordstrom. Why do you know it? Because my wife goes there. I don't know. I don't know.
No, I go there. Don't you? I go there and buy my vests. Brass plum? Yeah. Is that where you buy your moisturizer, Mike? Yes, Lauren O'Brien. That's on the first floor. My moisturizer. I need to make a moisturizer run, too, so maybe we can make that right soon. Me and you. Yeah, we can just talk about that off the air. What else? The last thing is when in Rome. What is that? It's an Italian romance. It stars Kristen Bell. Never heard of it. It's also a great 80s band. Yeah. It's also a great... Little saying that people say. When in Rome. If you can understand it. All right. And those are the DVDs. Nice. It's your new releases. Van der Sloot's lawyer quit. Yeah, he did. Good. Yeah, he probably was like, what's the point? Yeah, you guys are a rat. He resigned from defending the murder suspect, and he said, this has created many problems for me. Really? Yeah. English speaking? No, according to the Peruvian prison authorities, he was the only person that visited Vandersloot in prison. And he's, no, I believe he's from Peru. I was being facetious. This has created many problems for me. But you know, Vandersloot, he did say, we haven't really talked about this recently, but he did say that he knows where the remains of Natalie Holloway's body is in Aruba. And that he will tell them where it is if he gets transferred to Aruba.
Maybe you tell us where it is if we get a few minutes with you in a room with a 9-iron. Yeah. He is in a high-security area of the prison where only two of the 10 cells are occupied, and the other inmate, which he sits in the common area with, is a Colombian hitman. Oh, man. I bet Natalie Holloway's dad would like to try to convince him. 30 minutes. Could you imagine? Let's see. You may have already seen the video of the BP security guard arguing with a reporter at a public beach about how the reporter can't be there. It's a public beach, pal. I can't be here, really? On a public beach, I can't be here? It's an incredible dialogue that goes on back and forth between these clowns. It's next. Oh, my God. It's better than I thought. Mamatesta Taqueria. Authentic Mexican food. Richmond and University in Hillcrest. And now back to the Mikey Show. With Mikey. I think Nickelback may be cooler than Dodgley. Lauren. We all like the chase. Woods. I buy sticker price for everything. I cannot negotiate. At all. Sienna. Those are nutty bars? Yeah. Those are the best. I don't claim to be a Steve Miller band fan, but every time it's on, I'm like, this is a good song. Absolutely. I saw him in concert once. He literally walked on stage. played his entire Greatest Hits album and walked off. Oh, boy. It was like, every song you're like, yeah, the Joker. That's awesome. That was so cool. Fly like an eagle. Why doesn't every band do that? Yeah. Instead, every band's like, here's a song you guys have never heard that we recorded eight years ago, but we want to do it for you. And it's like, maybe they're sick of their heads. How about this bit, Mike? You go see one of your favorite bands and like, we got a new record coming out. Yep.
And we're going to play the whole thing for you tonight. There's some people in the audience who are like, yes! I am not that guy. I'm not that guy either. Jamie and I went and saw the Black Crows one time. I mean, the Black Crows should come out ripping through all their good stuff. They jammed for four hours. They played three songs. My story is the Black Crows. He comes out and he goes, it's this bit too. I don't like, please sing the song like I know it. Yeah. She never mentions the word addiction. Imperfect company. I'm like, they got organs and stuff. All kinds of weird stuff going on. Yeah. She tell you she is. You know how many times he's probably sang that song?
I don't care. I bought it. I bought the song, the record. I had to buy it on iTunes. I bought the cassette. Now I paid money for the concert and I got the t-shirt. I'm paying $9 a beer. Make it right. You want to sing along with them. Yeah, mix it up a little bit, maybe. I just want to hear you sing your song. You also don't want to hear the exact... I mean, if you wanted to hear what was on the album, you could just push play and sit in your house with surround sound. No, because it's different live. No, it is different live. I just want to hear it. He can get out there live and go... She never mentions a word addiction. See, I like to hear a deviation from it. Oh, you get that. If I see a band that sounds exactly like their CD, I'm like, cool, yeah, basically just push play. Oh, great. Why don't I just get William Shatner to come out here and recite it then? Blue Jean Baby. L.A. Lady. Seamstress for the band. Great. How about Elton Sings It? Yeah. Instead of Will Shatner coming out here. Giving me some sort of a haiku. Right there with you. I just want what I know. That's all. Not every band does it. No. Not every band does it. Black Crows, notorious. I don't mind a band speeding up a song and doing it with a little more energy. Pearl Jam does that a lot. They'll take one of their songs and they'll play it just really full of energy. And you're like, oh, that was amazing. But you don't deviate from what works. See, I think like.
Dave Matthews is a good example of somebody that, like, he adds a little jam to his live stuff, and sometimes the live versions are better. That's right. I do. Yeah, I know. I haven't heard you in a while. Why don't you give me what we want, though? I used to go to your concerts in high school. We like to jam, man. We're a jam band. Let me give you a guitar. You play. All right. And what I want you to do, though, is play what I know. Yeah. I don't want you to do some weird version, Dave. But sometimes he'll, like, add these words that... They're not the lyrics. It's not the lyrics that I know and that I love. How do you like it? I don't know. I want to hear what I know on the record, like what I heard on the radio. Where are you going? Love it. Yeah, it's perfect, Dave. With your long face. I forgot how to play that song. It's been so long. It's your song, though. It's your song. Pulling down, don't hide away. It's beautiful. Like an ocean. Yeah, it's beautiful, Dave. You can't see, but you can smell. What? Is that what it says? The rain crashed down. I am no Superman. Perfect, Dave. That's perfect. Yeah, that's... How do I play that? That's what I like. Bravo. Yeah. You do that. You left your capo in front of me. Oh, I did. There you go. Every once in a while. That holds my joint. Yeah, it's double purpose. That'd be a big joint. Don't smoke in a studio. Sorry. We got equipment in here, pal. Put some clothes on. Don't worry about it.
I do worry about it. It's illegal. Why didn't you ask me to fill in when Woods didn't show up this morning? First of all, because you were sleeping underneath the console. So was he. I can do sports. He was sleeping at home. I didn't want to disturb either one of you. What do you know about sports? I know a lot. Like what? Do you have a favorite team? No. Do you have a favorite sport? No. Do you know any professional athletes? Charles Barkley is a good friend. Yes. How do you know him? Smoke weed together. Okay. Thanks, Dave. Mix it up. You know the name of the baseball team here in San Diego. Nope. So why would you do sports? Yeah. Why not? Somebody has to. That's true. I'd rather you just play your hits like you play your hits, dude. I like that. Fair enough. Liked when you did it. Is there any other bands that do that? Van Halen was great. Every time I saw him, they played him just the way I know him on the record. Journey. I saw Journey, but with the new guy, the new Asian guy. Yeah. And that was like.
That was just the right mix of liveness and just, yeah, play it like I know it. He has just the slightest Asian inflection. Does he? He does. I didn't notice that. He's from the Philippines? I think so. Yeah. He's good. He is good. He's just a city girl. Riven in a lonely... She took the midnight train. Oh, my God. No, Mike. Detroit. Detroit. Philly. Seattle. It's not growing any rare. It's not growing any rare.
But I'll tell you, man, he sounds just like Steve Perry, doesn't he? He does a good job. There's no replacement for Steve Perry. No, but Steve Perry's still out there, just being a big baby. Is he? There's two Steve Perry wannabes in the studio right now. You know what happened. That was great. He just multiplied. That email is Mikey at MikeyShow.com. I'm telling you, I've heard the records. I've heard him live. I heard him. I didn't notice that. Oh, it's the slightest. Oh, boy. It's awesome. The dude hits Steve Perry's notes better than Steve Perry. There's no way Steve Perry could hit those notes that way now. Not anymore.
So it's like you're at a concert in 1982 when you hear this guy. Just shut your eyes. Yeah, shut your eyes. You'll think you're there. Or sit really way back in the nosebleeds like I was. Stop. It's fantastic. I'm saying I love it. It's beautiful. That is not funny. for tomorrow. We're dead. What are you talking about? I'm going for exactly from what I'm hearing on the thing. Yeah. Plebeian. Making fun of Steve Perry. It's not Steve Perry. Fine. Steve, whatever his name is. What's the matter with you people? I was joking. Don't you know a joke when you hear one? Oh, for goodness sake. I made my day. Hillary's here. Hello. Hi, Hill.
Hello. Hey, Hal. Hello. How are you doing, Hal? I'm going to play some Iron Maiden with Blaze Bailey. Are you really? No, really not. Yeah. It's kind of the same situation, right? Hey, listen. Can I tell you? Wasn't it Tim? Oh, no. Tim the Ripper was in Judas Priest. Oh, right. Tim the Ripper Owens. They found him, like, in a cover band in Iowa. That's who I was thinking of. That's who I was thinking of. But wasn't Blaze Bailey? I'm confused. I might admit something to you. Never mind. I blew that. I might admit something to you. Please do. And you got it wrong. Bark Malman. Bark Malman Woods and my friend from Texas was in town. And I was in the car with the two of them. And they were blasting Iron Maiden. And they were singing it. And they were talking about how cool this record was and how much they remembered it. And I was there like totally into it. No idea. Wasted years, dude. I know. And they were saying how popular it is. And I was trying to pretend that I was like totally. He's like, yeah. Yeah. What is this one again? Yeah, dude. Break that. Kind of like how you like Dumb and Dumber, huh? Yeah. Yeah. That's awesome. Oh, Mikey. Wasted years. Mikey. Mikey. Go home and listen to some Iron Maiden. That's your homework. All right. I'm going to write a paper on Dumb and Dumber. He sure is. I need some help. Maybe I need some cool questions or like a theme.
So maybe email me. Really, Bookworm is really the one that needs to email me because she's got that brain. And we need to get some good questions for Mikey to really focus on when he watches the movie because I'm going to make him write a paper. Is that how you do a paper? They ask you questions? You're not just supposed to write a paper? What would you write about? You need a topic. You do? Yeah. Okay. Hill, did you tell us what you're going to be playing? No. What do you got? Well, I grabbed the National and the Breeders and Phoenix and stuff. But yesterday, there's this... A band out of Denmark, out of Copenhagen, that we've started playing. They're Denmarkians. Denmarkians are great. They're great, too. Hilary, are you playing any Scorpions today? Tons. Tons of Scorpions? This band is called New Politics. And they have this song. They don't even have a record out. They just moved to Brooklyn to record a new record. I found them on Twitter and started following them from the stations feeding yesterday. They wrote us a little, they tweeted to. Nice. They were like, yeah, thanks for all the love. So I'm going to play them. New Politics. That's cool. A catchy little song coming up. Lovely and Talented Hillary is up next. And we will take a 20-hour break and come back and do it again. And hopefully Woodsy shows up. And it should be a real good time. Mikey's show is out.
