Friday July 2, 2010
Mikey has never seen a Jonah Hill movie,(weird). RIP Don Coryell- the man who revolutionized the game of football forever. Weather woes continue to drive Woods and Mikey crazy. Beaches in the Gulf area are making people sick and a poor out of work from the oil spill fisherman committed suicide. Obama is getting slammed by the press more than ever yet he still has enough nad to tell us what it takes to be a “real” American while Godzilla lurks in the background! Sienna controls the Panel on Toyota troubles, The Nerd…I mean Droid, and a hand gun hating mayor. Eskimo Bluewaters stops by with Peanut in tow, drops a burro joke on Mikey, and explains about her boyfriend named “Tad Corvette”. EBW then plays her Pinewood Derby jingle that sounds mighty familiar. Will Eskimo get her own blog on Mikeyshow.com? Jay drops a huge inside joke on EBW regarding her blog updating skills compared to another cast member. MIDI Madness has M1 Edward competing for Vampire Weekend tickets…coincidence? Best and worst national anthems are next, with the worst being the funniest. Thanks a lot Tom Arnold! The most anticipated bit of the day is the hidden Woods audio that Sienna recorded off air. Turns out The Kid was furiously trying to leave a good voicemail during several hilarious takes. While Sienna looks for black diamonds, LOB looks for black dudes! Oh Mama Testa, how the Mikey Show loves thee. Lauren has a boatload of eh-Hahs! for the voice mail roulette segment. Engineering snafus make for awkward moments and an Incorporator shout out. Why does LOB’s voicemail sound a lot like MC Mel Dog in an office setting? Woods drops a Runes reference that earns crickets. Don’t worry Mockey, I’ll pay a buck to the jar cuz you clowns are morons, Mockey! A text about a dude dating a girl who has no girlfriends wonders if that is strange, to which the short answer is yes, it is. Mikey is a BFF: A “Big Fat Friend”. A 49 year old calls in who claims she has no female friends because her last one tried to get her hubby to knock her up! When will the Twilight saga end, or will it? List of the best potato chips has Obese Mikey defending his Chip of the Month club. Hoyle gets upset again with the direction of the show. Radio Charades has Woodsy dance around for nothing but at least the second caller has a functional brain, then LOB pulls a winner. Bad ass band names has The Kid reminisce about being kicked out of “Gypsy Rose”. M1 HB calls in with “Your Mom”! Poor Jay went to the fair, had to file papers, then a little girl pointed out that toilet paper was hanging from his shorts! Run-ins with ex’s is sparked by Sienna’s Baskin Robbins story of humiliation. Gay dancer jokes abound when a caller tells about being face to face with her ex’s package. M1 Babyshaker calls in and LOB drops a dirty bird reference that even skeeves Woods out! Mikey delivers his 4th of July weekend testimony.

Friday with a live. Welcome to the program, every bubba. You can give us a call if you want to. 570-1949 is the number, and you can also text us. 949mikey at gmail.com is the text. We'd love to hear from you. So much going on today. First of all, I want to let you know, at 7.30 this morning, we're going to be playing the audio that we have of Woods. Really? Yeah, it's the hidden audio that we have of Woods. Great. He didn't know he was being taped. Looking forward to hearing myself sound like a big, giant douche. How do you know? You have no idea what it is, my friend. Maybe it makes you sound fantastic. Maybe it's a love message to Jamie. Could be. Maybe it isn't, but maybe it is.
Big weekend for the kid, by the way. Big weekend. Got his family coming in. He's got part of his family here today. Uh-huh. Right? My little brother is here. My sister-in-law, Tess, is here. That's right. My little brother, Brent, it's his 30th birthday today. I know. I felt bad because I just had to run by them, you know, coming in here. I know. Me too. I had to run by. And I love these guys. Thank you guys for being here today. It's nice to see you. And it's 30th? It's his 30th, yeah. Today? Today. Happy birthday. Happy birthday, man. Happy birthday. Very nice. We have one more birthday in here. And we do. Who else's birthday is it today? This little angel over here. That's so great. Harold brought his daughter in, and that's awesome. So congratulations and happy birthday. Got a lot going on today. So much stuff going on today. First of all, in terms of news, the big thing today is Don Correale, which we'll get to in just a second. But I want to let you know who everybody is. I'm the host of the show. My name is Mikey. Woodsy is our sports guy, and he is 34 years old. He'll be 35 very soon, though. Yep. We have Lauren O'Brien, and she's our assistant producer. She's a comedian. Comedienne. Waka waka. Comedienne. Comedienne. Yeah. Female version. Sienna is our news girl. She's 25. And we also have a new drummer who's working on the Sin Airs. They're called the Sin Airs.
They're really great. They're electronic drums. I got a nice little beat. No kidding. Somebody's mixing up stuff in their beat lab. Jay is our producer. He is 47 years old. And we also have a phone screener. And his name is Chris. Chris is great. He's great. That's right. And if you would like to say hi to Chris, you can by calling us at 570-1949. And at the beginning of the show, we do open phones so you can call about really anything that you want to. It's your topics and your questions and whatever you want to talk about. Woodsy's wife, Jamie, is also in here with us today, which is cool. Oh, by the way, 8 o'clock this morning. Woodsy got so excited about this, and so did I. This morning at 8 o'clock, we will be talking to John C. Reilly and Jonah Hill. Yes. Really? Yes. Funny, guys. That's right. John C. Reilly and Jonah Hill will be on the show today. Now, I am one of the only guys in planet Earth that hasn't seen the Jonah Hill movies. Shocking. I haven't seen Superbad. Shocking. I can't believe you haven't seen Superbad. Yeah, I haven't seen it.
I haven't seen it. I haven't seen a lot of those Judd Apatow movies. Yeah. And he's in them. Yeah. And he's also the star of a new movie called Cyrus, which is what they're on to promote. Looks amazing, by the way. It does. Yeah, it does. So anyway, we'll tell you about that. It's with John C. Reilly and Marissa Tomei and Jonah Hill. Jonah Hill plays Marissa Tomei's son. Really? Weird. Plays Marissa Tomei's adult son. They look so much alike. I know it. And one of the other things that I'm going to ask that Mikey Show listeners are very familiar with with John C. Reilly is a TV show called Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job. And because listeners of the Mikey Show know it because I've played it forever. I've played Tim and Eric stuff forever. And so we'll be asking all about that and getting some stuff from John C. Reilly on that very TV show. Can I ask him about 100 questions on Boogie Nights? Yeah. Michael. Well, that's, I mean, listen, the reason that I know John C. Reilly and love John C. Reilly so much is because of him being in a lot of Paul Thomas Anderson movies. PCA, yep. He's been in Boogie Nights. He's been in Magnolia.
He was, a lot of people really, if you're telling the average guy, who's John C. Reilly? He was Dewey Cox in Walk Hard, the Dewey Cox story. He's hysterical. Step Brothers with Will Ferrell. Step Brothers. He's a genius in that movie. So funny. He's so funny. Don't touch my drum set. Yeah. He's really, really funny. And he's, a lot of his stuff you can tell in a lot of his movies is just ad lib. Oh, 100%. He just does ad-lib stuff and is just so, so funny. The Chewie Cox story is so funny. I haven't seen that. Oh, my gosh. I want to. I want to. Maybe get out of the house every now and then. I know it. I know it. There's a lot of innuendos in that movie. Yes, there are. Is there? Yes. Maybe I don't see it. Maybe it's too much for my gentle sensibilities. Dainty self. That's right. Dainty self. You guys, when I would play the... Tim and Eric, awesome show, great job stuff. You guys will always go, what is that? What is that? This is Tim and Eric. John C. Reilly's on this show on a regular basis. That's not him. He's just on the show on a very regular basis. It's the weirdest show ever. Beach Blast! It's so weird. It's so weird. Every time, let me tell you, my wife, I got...
my wife into it too and she says the same thing I do. I go, I don't know if it's funny or if it's scary. It always, and I mean that. I mean that. I mean like it genuinely like creepy and I told her like I don't know whether or not I'm uncomfortable. Most of the time I feel uncomfortable when I watch it. Don't even really watch it anymore. Can't wait to talk to him. I can't wait. Big news today is the passing of Don Correale. Eric Correale, San Diego Charger head coach, former head coach, and truly a legend in this town. This guy's record blew me away when I read it. When he coached at San Diego State, he was 104-19. Is that right? That is insane. That is like you never hear that nowadays. I'm an Irish fan. If somebody said, all right, we're going to bring a coach in and over the next looks like 11 years, he's going to go 104 and 19. Right. Sold. Yeah. Sold. Yeah. But he's most well known as the head coach of the San Diego Chargers. He was Dan Fouts coach. And he was known as Eric Coriel because the guy.
What he wanted to do is just throw long. High-flying offense, dude. That was his thing. He was 85 years old. He passed away yesterday at Grossmont Hospital at around 315, surrounded by his family. Wow. And he had pneumonia. That's a long, long life. Long, really great life. And, you know, he, unfortunately, it was his first year of eligibility, I think, last year for the NFL Hall of Fame. Yeah. And he didn't get it. Yeah. But he's eligible again. He was inducted to the College Football Hall of Fame in 99. Let me tell you. It's always great as a head coach to have Dan Fouts and Kellen Winslow on your offense when you're putting together an offense, and he did. And longtime Charger fans, really a big deal to longtime Charger fans. 570-1949 to hear the seductive, cool, sweet sounds of our phone screen, Chris. He said, what? That's right. And then get through to us. You just have to. Tell them what you're up to. 5701949. Big weekend here in town. Sienna, do we know anything about the weather this weekend? Do we know if we're going to have beautiful, sunshiny skies? Well, earlier this week I reported that it was supposed to be a little bit cloudy. I don't have an update in front of me. I'll look and I'll find out. But last I read, it's not supposed to be real nice. We looked online last night. Little brother did. And we saw the high.
68. No. No. Really? 68. It's July. You know what, though? Like, I'm confident. I think it's going to be all right. I'm going to root for it. I wore a freaking blazer to dinner last night. July 1st. I had a blazer on because I was like. Let's all be real optimistic. Go ahead and Google. I'm going to let you Google L-O-B. Google and see what weather is going to be. Be optimistic, people. I guess I'm putting my wetsuit back on this weekend when I go in the water. It's going to be gorgeous. Water is like warmer than the air. And it's true. I heard the water is getting real warm if you want to get in the ocean this weekend, right? Just be careful of the Great Lakes. Shut up. I'm sorry to bring it up. Sorry to bring it up, but that's exactly what you are. They're migrating in Southern California. No, they're not. We talked about this yesterday. No, they're not. Yes, they are. Sienna had to make the announcement. She read that they were migrating up from Santa Barbara. There haven't been any human encounters, but there have been some with sea lions being thrown around. I'm trying to get my brother in the water. There's no way he's going in the water now. You got the weather? Yeah. What do you got, L.O.B.?
Oh boy, already. Get bad news. No, what? What's the forecast? The high of 65 all weekend. Everyone just smile and say it's going to be okay. Maybe just go out to Escondido or something. Maybe I get my cardigan out of a box. Wear that all weekend. How about that? Get my flannel PJs out. Throw on a nice little flannel. Good thing I'm leaving. Yeah. Thermal underwear? Yeah, for sure. Where are you going, L-O-B? I don't even know what it's called. It's spelled O-J-A-I. It's Ojai. Ojai. Compton. Ojai? What are you going to Ojai? I don't know. My friends are going. Is that in California? I'll go. Yeah. Yeah. Even I knew that. It's like northeast of L.A. Ranchy? I don't know. I want to say ranchy. It was a hippie fest? I have no idea. Smoked marijuana cigarettes and sit in style? No. At first it was like we were going to go to Mexico. Then we were going to go to Palm Springs. Then it was Big Bear. Then last night my friend was like, okay, I booked us for... She emailed it and I never heard of it. I was like, alright, I'm in. What a random place. Maybe you go to Compton for the weekend. Make it ride for yourself. Treat yourself.
You deserve it, L.O.V. Yeah, you worked hard. You worked hard. Now you deserve a little treat. It's true. Three-day weekend. That's right. Well, speaking of the not-so-great weather. What? Oh, Sienna. I know, I know, but it may mean if you're watching the fireworks on the coast, you may not be able to see them due to the marine layer, the fog. Fog? It's July. Welcome to London, pal. Where's Big Ben? There's been a real thick marine layer. It just kind of moved through last night, but they're saying it's going to be back Sunday afternoon. Be optimistic. I'm just going to keep saying it. I'm just going to be a little cheerleader over here. I'm the last person in the world that you would ever hear, you know, that used to be like, come on, sunshine. You know, I used to be obese Mikey. So I would be like, I just want to sit inside and make smarts. Be July 7th, you know, be July 3rd. Next day's 4th of July. Everybody wants to get in their bikinis and bathing suits. And I'm like, we get the grill. Looking forward to the hot dogs. But now, you know, you got the kids and stuff. It will be great no matter what. Everyone just like chill out. Be optimistic. It's going to be fun. It's a holiday. No work. Usually people have the next day off. Three day weekend. What's wrong with that? It's going to be cold, gray and full of traffic. The forecast says sunny. It's just going to be that.
Whatever the breeze is coming off the water. So if you go inland a little bit, it'll be warm. Yeah. Inland's really fun on a surfboard. Sand dunes. I'm just throwing my trunk. M1 Janine from San Diego. Are you there? Hey, yes. Hi. Hi. Good morning. Hi. Well, I just wanted to let you know that I've never been there. We've been, like, through, driving through. But Ojai is famous for being an artist's community. Oh, there you go. Hi, Luda. Good to meet you. Like artists as in people doing paintings and drawings? Exactly, and crafts. Crafts. Crafts. That's wonderful. And I wish I was going there. Will you bring me a dream catcher? Yeah, sure. Thank you. Yeah, you stop off, you get some white wine, you know. I'm going to bring an easel. An easel, yeah. I'll paint the horizon for you guys. There you go. Oh, man. Oh, hi. I mean, off the air, just because I can't spend too much time on it, Oh, hi. You know, because when I think Fourth of July, you know, I'm like, hey, girls, let's get together and go to Santa Barbara. Let's go to, you know, West Hollywood. Let's, you know, oh, hi. She even said herself, I don't know how to spell where we're going. You know, I mean, I don't know how to say it. I don't know how to spell it. What a strange thing. Uh-huh. Yeah. Well, Vegas was out, you know, they considered Vegas.
I made all the normal suggestions. My friends, they live in Hollywood, so it's like... They don't want to do that. They don't want to do that. So let's go paint something and drink some wine. But on the 4th of July, we have fireworks. I have a whole list. of these places you can go watch the fireworks and activities going on. All right. Now, I have so many that I can't list them all, but they're in Central San Diego, East County, North County, and the South Bay. I put them all on my blog. It has times. It has prices for kids if kids are welcome to these areas. Need it. If you have food. So I'm just going to tell you the Central San Diego right now. We'll start in the middle. All right. The annual Big Bay Boom 4th of July Fireworks Show, which is downtown, which is going to be really fun. The Maritime Museum of San Diego on Harbor Drive. Summer pops at the Embarcadery. which is downtown. Hornblower Cruises and Events downtown. Join Woodsy, yep. I'll be there. The Yacht America Sunset and Fireworks Sale, which is also downtown. USS Midway Museums, Apple Pie, 4th of July. Okay, now hang on. Now, all these different places, you're saying that these places are doing their own...
Firework displays? You can watch them. These are good places to watch. Right. Good places to watch. They have events like the Yacht America Sunset and Fireworks Sale departs at 6 p.m. The Hornblower Cruise from 7 to 10. The USS Midway Museum's Apple Pie, 4th of July. Doors open at 6. They're all good nighttime things to do. Watch the fireworks with your family. Cool stuff. It's cool. Coronado, 4th of July celebration at Spreckles Park is going on. Oh, Spreckles Park is my favorite park in all of San Diego. Do you like that one, Wolfgang? It's the greatest. Yeah, you're going to have to put a sweater on, though. No, that's fine with me. I'm from Germany. It's always chilly. Do you have a scarf? I bet you have a scarf. I do have several scarves. The Mission Bay Yacht Club, SeaWorld San Diego's Fireworks into the Blue, Mir Mesa, at their community park they're doing something, La Jolla Cove. I have so many. This is all just centrally located. Keep reading them because I think people want to know all the different places. Okay, Paradise Point Resort and Spa, the ninth annual All-American Barbecue and Fireworks Extravaganza. That sounds cool. That's in Mission Bay. Did I say Mission Bay Yacht Club? The 31st annual Ocean Beach. I think you just like mentioning the yacht club.
The 31st annual Ocean Beach Fireworks off the pier. Lake Murray Music Fest and fireworks in Lake Murray. Santee Salutes at the Santee Town Center Community Park. I have so many. Spring Valley Park, they're doing something. I'm actually kind of digging this. I'm like hearing it, but we'll name more later. Yeah, I have, I mean, there are a ton more. They're on my blog, MikeyShow.com, if you want to know the exact location, the time, how much it costs. It's all on there. By the way, if you were ever curious what everybody on the Mikey Show looked like, God forbid, except for the girls. You can go to MikeyShow.com and see what we all look like. You can also see a live webcam that's going on right now. And we're all in a live webcam that you can see by going to MikeyShow.com. Eskimo Blue Waters was going to all the different bathrooms this morning, putting the blue pellets into each of the toilets because she said it brings good chi. I don't even know what that means. That's blue waters. Oh, is that what it was? She's turning the waters blue. It's a gimmick. It's a gimmick. That's right. She wanted me to invest into a blue toilet water.
company that she was opening? And I said, well, the only reason I want to do that is because it doesn't really get your name out there. It goes inside the toilet lid. No one would ever see it. In the commode. In the commode. And she said, that's a detail that isn't important. And I said, well, isn't it central to the idea? She's not the savviest marketer. Not at all. But I see Woods is right. Her train of thought was blue waters. Blue waters. So you think of blue waters. And it's cemented in your mind. And the toilet when you think of her. Eskimo. Right. Everyone uses a toilet. True. And then. I remember Woodsy pointing out to her, do you really want the parallel to be drawn toilet and you? Do you really want that? And she said, as long as they come and pay, I don't care. That's right. And then I think she told you to get. Then she told me to get. She said get. 570-1949. One of the big things that is being talked about too right now is how many people are getting sick? That live in the Gulf communities, Sienna? Yes. Well, specifically this article, it's the Pensacola Beach area. Santa Rosa Island officials last week put up the double red flags, no swimming in this area. However, two days later, against the warnings, the local island authority director, excuse me, he reopened the beaches for swimming and told residents and tourists to go back on the beach. It's all good. Well, as you can imagine.
400 people later claimed that they felt sick after visiting the beach and swimming in the Gulf. Yes. That's so gross. Isn't that awful? Maybe stay out of the Gulf. Yeah. I mean, come on. I'm sure you guys have seen the pictures. If there was an oil spill here telling all the surfers to stay out of the water. I would 1,000% stay out of the water. You'd see plenty of people in the water here, though. That's insane to me. If that? If you grow up like... On the water, and that's your livelihood, or if you're on vacation and it's the one vacation you get in five years, I think people would risk it. No way. There's no chance. I wouldn't. I wouldn't, personally, but plenty of people would. The oil spill has hit the 140.6 million gallon mark. It probably smells like a Zippo wick out there, you know? As soon as you walk on the beach. I wouldn't even want a part of it. I mean, there are so many things that we're not even being shown, like pictures of animals. That's just so sad. I think I mentioned yesterday there's 70,000 little sea turtle eggs buried under the sand along the Gulf Coast that people are going in by hand and trying to save these eggs for these endangered sea turtles because they're all going to die due to the oil. So by hand, they're digging in there.
scouting them out and moving them like 500 miles away. So kind. People are volunteering to do it. I mean, it's just like, it's really bad over there. By the way, Sienna was telling me how she was doing some research on it and found that like Australian television, for instance, they're showing a lot more than we see. Oh. It's like we don't know if you're not really like researching it. We don't know half the stuff that's going on over there and how big it is because Australian media, they flew over to Louisiana and they, you know, they're checking out the Gulf. They're looking at everything. They went above where the oil is spewing and just showing footage that we don't see. We don't see. Why don't we see it? And the Australian. This was on YouTube. I actually put this on my blog earlier this week. If you want to check out some of this footage, it's really, really sad. Yeah. But. the Australian media that posted it on their news site, someone told them to take it down too. Even in Australia, you need to take this down. You need to take this down. So I think it's just so bad. They're trying not to scare people. However, people need to be aware and figure out how they can help because it's just, you know, showing stuff like the explosion and the people working and people like just pulling out globs fulls of oil out of the water and showing the birds covered in oil and stuff that is just, I mean, so, so, so, so sad. This is huge.
Sorry, I was going to say we have an M1 down in New Orleans that listens, M1 NOLA. And he sends me pictures of some of the stuff that's going on down there. And he's there right there on the forefront. And it's just like, it's mind blowing. Fishermen that work on the Gulf or worked on the Gulf. I mean. Out of business. They can't do anything. People telling them what to do. Get off your boat. I mean, it's just. It was real sad, man. We saw a story the other day of a guy that committed suicide because he was a fisherman down there. And he realized my livelihood is gone. My life's over. He had a father, a husband. That's all he knew. Committed suicide because he couldn't provide for his family anymore. Which is really, really a terrible, obviously a terrible story. But I think that what is the overriding deal is. How much we don't know. Yeah. And so, I mean, if you can do a little research and look around, like I said, that video I put on my blog earlier this week, you can really just get an idea. And it's from Australia. Like, they have accents of people reporting all this stuff. And it's like, why don't we see that here? Well, when I lived in Australia, I worked for News Limited. It's owned by Rupert Murdoch. What is that, News Limited? It's one of the, like, the big...
companies that do like they do news they do newspaper publications it's all the media over there and they're real big on kind of like the expose sort of stuff yeah and just getting to the bottom of things whether it be here there a lot of i mean they're kind of on a little island there so a lot of times they're doing world news more than local stuff you know magnum pi worked for them i know no kidding no wonder they had you there lauren really is like magnum pi she can do a lot of investigation 100%. All right, so we have so much stuff to get to. And so I'm going to try to get to everything. But here's the thing. You probably haven't heard this. If you have, great. If you haven't, it will probably interest you to know that the Chargers have suspended one of their players for three games. Great. And this is going to... This has so many layers of an onion to it. It's... I'm going to shake things up on multiple levels. Woods has it in Woods on Sports. We're going to do the panel where we talk about a lot of stuff going on in the news. We've got a live studio audience in here and a lot to do today. We'll be right back.

So stick around. You know, there's a lot of Obama snafu audio today. As I'm looking at the audio today, I'm going, there's a lot of Obama, like negative Obama stuff. And I'm like, you know, I'm a conservative Republican and I'm going.
I don't want to do a ton of this because it's going to look like I'm just trying to play up on it and all that stuff. Yeah, there's been a lot recently because of everything going on. I mean, with everything going on with BP and with everything. I mean, I'll tell you about the stuff. I mean, yeah, he went to a baseball game. He didn't even do the wave. Really? God, let's make that a national story. He played golf. Party pooper. He played golf one day. Here's the thing. Are you kidding me? I know what you're trying to do and say. pointing out that it's no big deal. Idiot. You know what? Idiot. Come on. I'll say it with you. It isn't. It's not a big deal. All right? It isn't a big deal. For instance, one of the things that they're pointing out with him today is that he misquoted a line in an engraving on the Statue of Liberty. He misquoted it. Okay, well, listen. I don't know what it says either. But you're not the president. You're not the president. I can see why he would catch heat. I'm not saying it's a big deal, but I can see why he could catch heat. I don't think it's a big deal. It's not a big deal, but you could see why someone... If George Bush mispronounced that word. If W had misquoted the statue. You mean when W misquoted? Well, I mean, yeah. If you fool me once, you can't get fooled again. That's right. Watch me hit this shot. All right, he said Dodo. There's no doubt about it. He said dumb things.
But if we're going to slay him, don't we also have to? Yeah, I mean, that's what happens. That's the price of being in the public eye. Here's what Obama said. I don't even know what it really says. Give me your tired and your poor, your huddled masses yearning to be free. I don't know what the real thing says. That sounds right to me. It says he misquoted it. Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses. If somebody knows, call us at 570-1949 and tell us about it. Now, this is interesting. This is him. Now, is everybody familiar with the controversy with Obama and the birth certificate? Is everybody familiar? Of course. If you're not, the deal is that in order to be a United States president, you have to have been born in the United States. Oh, look at Lauren. Oh, really? I know. Where is it? Where did it go? How did we let him slip in? He just slipped. It's like he...
It isn't that. He cheated on his background test. It isn't that. It isn't that. It isn't that. The deal is, is that word around the campfire. Whose campfire? Word around the campfire is that Obama's dad was a Muslim born in Africa, in a country in Africa. Okay? I can't remember what. That's how little I care, really, honestly. Although, the only thing that I say about it is, is that... I'm willing to make any concession for anybody as long as the same concession is made for everybody. Yeah, maybe he provides some documentation. In other words, who cares? You know what, Obama? I don't make a big deal. I don't make a big whoop. But that means that we don't make a big whoop about everybody, okay? We can't make a big whoop about a Republican later on either. Okay. Sounds fair to me. Anyway, here's Obama talking about it. Being an American is not a matter of blood or birth. It's a state of mind, Mike. Is it? It's a state of mind. I thought that being an American was a matter of, you know, birth. I thought, you know, according. Being a citizen, but American. I thought being an American was about. It isn't it about? Well, you were born in Guam. Yeah, but that's in the United States. I was born in a military base, a United States military base. Is it?
It's not like you were born in Cleveland. You were born on the mainland. I also wasn't born in a banana tree in Guam. Weren't you? Weren't you born on a borough? I was born on a borough in Guam. I was born on a United States naval base. Because my dad was, you know. Sure you were. Yeah, absolutely. U.S. soil and everything. Real good. You guys want to go to Guam after the show today? We'll all go grab lunch. I was born on a borough in Guam. I have a birth certificate. All right, more Obama. It's a matter of faith. It's a matter of fidelity to the shared values that we all hold so dear. What does fidelity mean? I know it's an economic company. It's a finance company. What does fidelity mean? Do you know? Yeah. What infidelity means. Infidelity is probably the opposite. Infidelity means no fidelity. You're an English major. It means being loyal, I thought. It's loyal, yeah. Don't quiz the kid this early, dude. I'll tell you. I can tell you how he blew the line, what it was supposed to be. What is it? He said you're huddled masses yearning to be free, and it should be you're yearning.
It's yearning to breathe free. Really? So far off. Wow. What an idiot. Oh, my gosh. If that had been Bush, this would be the reaction. He would have said, learning, learning to breathe, to breathe free. Y'all give me your huddled masses. Fidelity, faithfulness, and obligations. Give me everybody. Are you kidding? There'd be a YouTube mix of it already. Oh, for sure. Here's the definition of fidelity. Faithfulness to a person or cause. Or belief. It's a loyalty. That's what makes us unique. That's what makes us strong. Anybody can help. It's Godzilla. He's got a system. It's Godzilla coming in the back. Somebody better warn the president that in the background. The next great chapter in our history. Now, we can't forget the causes of immigration and eventual inclusion. has often been painful. Oh my gosh. Each new wave of immigrants has generated fear and resentments towards newcomers. Particularly in times of economic appeal. My goodness. It's so loud. 570-1949 is our number. And you can also text us. That is 949mikey at gmail.com. That's a little wood on sports.
I'm going to tell you who got suspended by the Chargers. And I'm going to tell you right now. I'm going to tell you first. Okay. Take a wild guess. Vincent Jackson has been suspended by the Chargers. Nobody's really surprised. He violated the NFL substance abuse policy. Got arrested a couple times. But Vincent Jackson doesn't really have a team because he didn't sign his tender. Yeah. So let's say he holds out. Great. He misses three games. He wouldn't have played in anyway. Okay, now does that mean, though, that another team that would be interested in him and that we could be using him? Yes. So if another team wants Vincent Jackson, there's two things holding it up, right? There's the fact that he suspended the first three games of the year. Sure. And the fact that he wants a long-term deal. Right. So good luck. Good luck. I mean, he's... He's really backed himself in the corner here. He's not in a good bargaining position at this point. No, but that also tells me that there's a chance that Vincent Jackson will be a charger after those three games and end up playing for us if no other team wants to take that. Exactly. Well, and like you said, he can always hold out, too. Yeah. But you don't get paid if you hold out. No. Also, the Padres lost last night to the Houston freaking Astros. Really? Yeah, and that is not a team you want to blow a game to. It was 3-3 in the 10th.
They brought in the guy that's been their ace out of the bullpen, Luke Gregerson. Well, he walked the first two guys, then gave up the game-winning hit. This is Luke Gregerson on his wildness. Cut one. Yeah, I mean, I don't really know what happened tonight. Obviously, I didn't try walking him. I just couldn't find the zone for some reason. I couldn't get my slider over, and it just ended up costing me a little bit. It's all right, buddy. Yeah, it's okay. It's going to happen to the best of them. He's been nails all year long. You know, the good thing about the Padres is they are a very resilient team. Usually they win games like this. So they did mount a comeback in kind of the late innings to tie the game, and here is third baseman Chase Headley on almost getting the job done, cut two. We worked hard to get back and tie the game. Unfortunately, we didn't do the things we needed to get the win, but everybody in the dugout and the clubhouse expects us to keep fighting and keep a push going when we're a couple runs down. He sounds bummed. He sounds bummed, and I'll give you this. more than other years, this is a resilience. They are very resilient, and they've got a lot of heart. Because in the past, what I remember about the Padres is that something like that would happen, and then they'd get all tripped out. Down, down, down. And they'd lose a bunch. Also, big news. Phil Jackson is returning for one more year to the Los Angeles Lakers. Far and away the greatest coach of all time. I mean, he's the winningest coach in NBA history. He has 11 titles, man. That's two more than Red Auerbach from the Celtics.
And he's going for a 12th this year. He's got two replaced hips. He's got a bum knee. He has to wear a brace under his suit. My goodness. They said, you know, because you see the coach. They sit on the bench and they get up and they go yell at the players. It's 82 games like that, man. The traveling, the flying, it takes a toll on your body. And he said, this is it. My last year. Oh, my gosh. Yep. Absolutely. I had no idea that that has such a... Yeah. Well, I don't know if that's it. He was a player. Well, he played, yeah. Part of it. So it's the hips and the knee. He's like, oh, one more year, though. So they want to go out on top. And, you know, they got a chance to defend their title. So they'll have their man behind the wheel. I think the basketball coaches wear suits. Yeah. And the football players or the football coaches wear, like, sweatshirts. I have the answer. Do you know, Woods? No. The answer is because of endorsements. And this was really cool. The NFL has a deal with, I believe it's Reebok. And so they've got to wear all the Reebok polo pullovers. And if they wear anything with their team stuff, they have to wear something with their team stuff. It's got to have that Reebok logo visible. This was kind of cool. Back a couple of years ago, San Francisco 49er head coach. Mike Nolan. Mike Nolan.
He dug the old suit look. The Tom Landry look. Tom Landry, which I think is sharp, man. And so he asked the NFL if he could get a suit that had the logo on it. And they let him. And it looked... One game? No, he did it the whole year. And it looked... Cool, man. Something about a guy in a suit. But also, basketball coaches are inside. It's always the same weather. You know what I mean? They dress nicely. When it's snowing outside, don't expect them to be in a suit. It's hard to wear dress shoes on the grass. Yeah. Exactly. The look that I always remember with Landry during the cold weather, though, was he'd wear that suit. He'd just put a big, giant parka, overcoat, hat. Real sharp, man. And also, four players are tied atop the leaderboard at the AT&T National in Pennsylvania. And Tiger is not one of them. He finished a 3 over 73. Here's Tiger on his round. Cut three. I hit it good all day. Let me just yell his name out. Get in the hole. Really? It sounded like Barack Obama yelling. Tiger! I just played awful, really. My speed was good, but...
I never hit the ball online. Tiger! I love you! Especially how good I was driving it. I was driving it on a string all day. What's the matter, Tiger? Cut four. If I keep hitting it like this, I'll be fine. The putts will start going in. It felt good to drive it on a string again. He likes that bit, driving on a string. Yeah. He's hitting it straight? Hitting it straight as an arrow. Driving on a string was something I've never done. I hit what I thought were two bad drives, and both of them landed in the fairway and just got into the rough. So that's a good feeling. Something I've never said in my life. Those words that Tiger just used, never put those words together in a sentence. You will. And finally, Mike, Dale Earnhardt is going to drive his daddy's car at Daytona. That's what I'm talking about. The number three. They're breaking it out. He's going to drive it as a tribute. It's where his father passed away at Daytona. So that'll be a pretty cool moment. He's going to drag it out and drive it Friday night in the Nationwide Series race. That's really cool. And that's Woods on Sports, my brother. 570-1949 is our number. A little bit later, we are going to have John C. Reilly and Jonah Hill on the show. I am in a tailspin. I'm lonely, loose, borderline desperate.
Don't, don't you want me? I have so much to give. I have all these gifts. I'm like, I'm a blast. That's fantastic. I'm having a conversation here. I'm going to have some conversations too here eventually. I love John C. Reilly. I love John C. Reilly. He's going to be on the show. So Sienna is going to help us out with the panel because I realized yesterday and the day before when we've been doing the panel. I'm not really a professional when it comes to delivering the news so much. You did good. And I said, I think I'd rather just talk about it. I feel more comfortable in that capacity. Yeah. And so Sienna is going to give us the stories that we're going to talk about in the panel. And then myself, Woodsy, and Lauren will discuss. Doing a little swap. That's right. So what do we got? Toyota.
has announced this morning that they're going to be recalling 270,000 Lexus and other vehicles. Now, yes, this is Toyota, the same company that had all those problems, are in many, many lawsuits. Another 270,000 vehicles being recalled because of valve spring flaws in the engines that could cause the vehicle to stall while moving. Perfect. Woods? I mean... I don't know. My take is just kind of, it's ridiculous, man. The quality of everything has gone down and prices continue to rise and the quality goes down. So I don't know. I need a new car in about two weeks. So I don't know what I'm going to get. Lauren. Yeah, it's tough. I feel like that name is just going to be tarnished for me. I'm actually getting a new car literally in the next two weeks and I just won't even consider Toyota because of all the problems. You know, for me, it's interesting because My family's always been a Toyota family, and I know somebody that works on the inside in car companies and says that there are so many of these things that happen with other car companies, and it never makes the news. The reason that this is making the news is because it's a pile-on, and it's still a great company, and I buy one any day. What else you got? All right, Mike, you're not going to like this. Oh, boy. The new droid.
The Droid X is getting some pretty good reviews, and it's not making the iPhone look that good, especially because of the reception problems that the iPhone is having. The new Droid X has a jumbo screen. It's 4.3 inches diagonally. That's what they're calling it. It's a quote, jumbo screen. Their battery. Really? It's as big as a loaf of bread, right? It is. It's big, yeah. They say that it makes you look like you're talking to a frozen waffle. It's ridiculous. Perfect. But the battery is supposed to be good. No, you know, Verizon's known for having great service everywhere they go. So what do you think about this? Can you hear me now? The Droid X. Woods. I'm not in on the Droid because of the name. And that's the only reason I'm not in on the Droid. I will not have a phone that is called Droid. So I'm waiting until they come out with an iPhone and I'm probably going to get an iPhone so that Mikey and I can video chat. Lauren. I feel like I am in a pickle because I've been eligible for a new phone since February now. I've been wanting to get the droid. I feel like I'm going to get filleted. You are. And now when I get the news that iPhone's coming out for Verizon in January of 2011, I kind of want to just sit still and wait for it. You want to know why there is such big hype around the iPhone?
Because it's awesome. Oh, boy. I have an iPhone. I don't know anything about the Droid. But you know why they sell gabillions and gabillions of iPhones? Because they're awesome. Because they do a lot of really cool stuff. I don't think the Droid is going to take over the hype from the iPhone. Okay. What else? There's a mayor in Chicago, Mayor Richard Daley, who has announced yesterday what city officials are calling the strictest handgun ordinance in the U.S. Now, this came three days after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Americans have the right to own a gun for self-defense. But this mayor does not agree. He wants to ban gun shops in Chicago and prohibit gun owners from stepping outside their homes, even onto their porches or garages with a handgun. He's felt this way for a while. He's tried to impose this for a while. The Supreme Court of the United States of America said, get out of here. It's the United States of America. That's why we have that amendment, the Second Amendment in our Constitution. Woodsy, where do you stand on people owning handguns? I don't have a problem with it, man. I really don't. I own a couple myself. So I think, like you said, it's a violation of our Constitution. If you were living in Chicago and that was a deal.
Would you fight it? Would you vote against it? I don't fight much, man. You know that. You just go with whatever happens. I watch a lot of baseball. All right. You got other things. You like girls. I like girls. All right. Lauren O'Brien. One girl. One girl. Not surprisingly, I agree with him. I'm all about the right to bear arms, but I think it should be in a controlled environment and in the safety of your own home. I don't like handguns strictly for the fact that they're meant to be concealed and accidents can happen in public and a lot of crime clearly happens in Chicago with handguns. Yeah, I'm for it. I grew up around this stuff because of my brother, Mark. So for me, the right to bear arms is the right to bear arms, man. I believe that it's our constitutional right. And I don't want anybody telling me what I can and cannot do in terms of that. Any constitutional right. I'm also a rule follower. So whatever the rules are about handguns, that's what I think we should do with it. We shouldn't be screwing around with them. Everything should be by the book. Oh, and by the way, I don't believe. that the people that are committing the crimes went into a gun store, put their driver's license down, and went through a background check and did everything the right way. What they did was they paid a nice fresh $75 or $50 out on the open black market and got themselves an Uzi.
Or whatever they have. Mike, this is your first time commenting and you already went over the buzzer. I know. Just giving you our time. I know. It's so true, though. We got a great text that I want to read to you and see what people think about it. And then speaking of Tiger Woods, man. Tiger went on the CBS Early Show. Talk about a question. So CBS Early Show, they figure, you know what? We got you. We're going to ask you some tough ones. They go, uh... How would you explain your recent troubles to your kids? And he answers it. And we'll do it next. Call now. Be a part of the Mikey Show now. Call 570-1949. Or text 949-MIKEY at GeneCom. This is the Mikey Show. More coming up on FM 94.9. It's on that right shoulder, rolled several times.
Still a lot of debris in the middle of the road. They had an ambulance there. It's left, but a tow truck is hooking that car up. Cooser Canyon Road, southbound at 76. It's blocked right now due to fallen trees. They've got cones around it. You're not going to be able to get through. A lot of congestion. KBZC San Diego. Lincoln Financial Radio Station. And now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. The auto-tune stuff is great. You love it. Oh, I can't get enough of it. I think it sounds great in my ears. Lauren. Do you have coconut water? Wood. Dude, do you know that I've ripped sheets with my toenails before? Sienna. We're going to a nice place downtown La Jolla on Prospect. And Jay. Howdy-ho, neighbor. On FM 94.9. Welcome back. It's the Mikey Show. Mikey Show is comprised of five people. Myself, Woodsy.
Lauren O'Brien, Sienna, and Jay. And there is also a phone screener that we got that's real good named Chris. And if you want to talk to him, you can call 570-1949. And you will talk to Chris. By the way, we're going to be playing Middie Madness here in just a minute. And, hey, Jaybeard, what do we have? Did I say Jaybeard? Jaybeard. Yeah, Jaybeard. Wow. Hey, Jaybeard. I thought you said that on purpose. I did, too. We have tickets to see Vampire Weekend at Soma on Tuesday, September 28th. What a tie-in with a whole Twilight thing. Vampire Weekend. My favorite band. Yeah. Blah. Blah. So, yeah, if you want that, go ahead and give us a call because we'll be playing Mitty Madness here in just a minute. Of course, Michael. I only call them Weekend. 570-1949 if you want to play. My wife went and saw Twilight last night. Oh, boy. What did she think of it? I don't know. They need to call her. She hasn't seen her. I'm sure she's going to be in a very romantic mood since the movie is so romantic. There's a song I'd like to dedicate to my wife. Manny Pacquiao. It's so beautiful.
You know, it's the Fourth of July weekend, and I think that there's probably a lot of people that are listening right now that just internally want to renew their vows to their boyfriend and their girlfriend, their husband, their wife. And I think that when you think of love, you think of love songs, you think of Filipino boxers. I know I do. I do. Who amongst us doesn't? I don't want to know you if you don't. I don't want to know. That's so beautiful. Speaking of recording artists that are really good, Woodsy, can you let Impatient into the room? Eskimo Blue Waters gets so... Oh, look at you. Oh, my goodness. With a cowboy hat. Hey, Mike. Hi. How are you, Eskimo? I'm good. I've been waiting. Are you blind? I know. Are you blind or you just always have the... That's not PC. I know, but you've never seen you without really dark Ray Charles glasses on. Well, I told you, I have these cheap prescription glasses and they're supposed to only do this when I'm outside. You've got the dang bright studio lights. Oh my gosh. Eskimo Blue Waters is a local musician who never tells us her age. Yep.
Woods believes that she's in her 30s. Oh, my gosh. Really? She looks a little haggard. Yeah, but she's not. No, I mean, I think she's gorgeous. Thank you, Mike. Yeah, but Woods is convinced. He says, dude, she's 34. Is he? Yeah. Is he? She's got on the cowboy boots. Yep. And, you know, they really have a worn-in look, but it's kind of like you've been kicking the sidewalk a little bit. Yeah, like kind of dragging them along the sidewalk. Yeah, doesn't it? No, I've had these for years. These are the only things that I could afford. Yeah. Well, you know, you live with mom and dad. No, no, I don't. That's okay. No, I don't live with anyone. I live on the road in my Mustang. And sometimes I park in my mom and dad's driveway when I need to clean up. Do laundry. Take a shower. Do laundry, right. That's it. I get it. She's a struggling musician. She's also a ventriloquist. She also reads poems. She also reads poems. Yes. She also yodels. Yeah. Yep. She's pretty much like a quintuple threat. Renaissance woman. Yeah, Renaissance woman. Yeah, Renaissance woman. Right. And so she hasn't made it yet.
But she will someday. Sienna always reminds us to stay positive with Eskimo. She tries everything. You've got to hand it to her. Thank you, Sienna. Sienna's always my backbone here. Yeah, she has your back. Yeah, that's what I meant. Maybe you try adult films. No, Woods. Maybe she doesn't try adult films. It's the most ridiculous thing ever. You don't work here, Eskimo. Yeah, well, I'm here. Okay. Why are you here today? Well... As you see, I've got Peanut with me. Yeah. It's your dummy. Yeah. Every time she says that, though, she holds Peanut, her dummy, by her side. And so she forgets sometimes that you're supposed to hold Peanut up to the microphone. Okay, but Peanut doesn't have any lines today. I don't have anything prepared. So why is she here? Well, as you guys know, Peanut was out of commission because I broke one of her drumstick legs on my Mustang spoiler. And yesterday I heard the touching story about Mancha the Chihuahua. Oh, don't bring it up. Saved a little infant's life. This little chihuahua saved an infant's life. A four-year-old's life. By getting in front of a pit bull and saving this four-year-old child. Right. But I just kind of thought, you know, what would I do if I ever lost Peanut? You'd make another one. Maybe build another one. No, well. Some drumsticks. I'm fully stocked on Elmer's now, but I'm just saying. Elmer's.
Works real nice, huh? You need water, Jay? You know, you've asked him for water every time you've come in. There's some water in a box. Drink water out of a box. I need a glass bottle, please. Don't you? Really? A glass bottle. Yeah. Can I get a glass bottle of water? Yeah. But anyway, Peanut's just here. I'm not... I'm here now! Oh, man. That's so weird. I don't have anything to say! You know, Eskimo, when you... I don't understand. When you do your ventriloquism, you're not supposed to move your mouth. That's Peanut telling me that. This is Peanut talking. She forgets to put Peanut up to the microphone, though. She speaks into the mic. And holds it by her side. That's just because of radio. I just have to be in front of the mic. And then we remind her, and she jolts Peanut up to the microphone. Look, if you would come to one of my gigs and see me on stage, you'd see how it really works. Stage. Yeah, Eskimo. By stage, you mean parking lot? The world is a stage. Thank you. We are merely players. We're just players, isn't it? If anyone is interested in ventriloquism this 4th of July, you know, it's the season. No, it's not the season. Yes, it is. No, there's not really a season for ventriloquism. That's a thing.
And it wouldn't be the 4th of July. Yeah. You got all kinds. You got the guy on stilts. You got the dummy. That's what you do. You got a burrow. I do. I get a burrow. But I still have some times available, so I'm always willing to hear you guys out. She does. Are you teaching a class? No, no. It would be me and Peanut performing. Oh, performing. Performing. Plenty of slots available, I'm sure. No, there's a few. There's a few. You got any gigs you're going to be doing or anything? Well, I've got the derby that you... The Kentucky derby? You know about that, Mike. Oh, by the way, yeah. Did I tell you guys about this? Well, I don't... The Boy Scout thing that she's doing? No, I don't want to... Boy Scout? Yeah, what's this called? Yeah, I don't want to... What's it called? The Boy Scout. I forget it. The Pinewood. The Pinewood Derby. Shut up. Will you race the little wooden cars? I have a really tough time with the name of this gig. I don't know why. She was trying to record a commercial. She snuck into one of our studios. And she was trying to record. Don't sneak in. My boyfriend works for the custodial department. How many boyfriends do you have? Allegedly.
Steve Maltz was my ex. That's Steve Paltz. Steve Maltz and Tad Corvette is my new boyfriend. Tad Corvette? Yeah. She just puts a couple of words together. Tad Corvette. That's his name. He's a custodian. Yeah. Hey, Woodsy. She can't even name all the Corvette kids you went to school with. I think I just put that together. What's my husband's name? I don't know. Todd Farrar. Ferrari, maybe? It's supposed to sound like Ferrari. Tad Corvette. He's Italian. Trying to put together Todd Ferrar? No. I never met Todd. Let me tell you something. I walk in a studio the other day, and she's making a commercial. Oh, gosh. Really? Plagiarizing. I didn't. You're the one that messed with the sound. Can I play you the audio back? Let's hear it. Of Eskimo Blue Waters recording a commercial? You did this. Listen. Hey, guys, this is Eskimo Blue Waters from FM 94.9. And I want to let you know about a gig I've got this weekend at the Pinewood Derby. It's for Troop 11. It's out there in Santee. It's going to be crazy off the hook. And to commemorate this event, I've come up with a new jingle that I think you guys are going to like. Ready? Three, two. Eskimos Blue Waters. Hey, what are you?
Mike. Let's pause the music for a second. No, why? What are you doing in here? I'm cutting a spot. Well, first of all, that's the Craig and O'Reilly music. What is Craig and O'Reilly? Craig and O'Reilly is a sponsor of the Mikey Show. They're awesome in here. No, I never heard of it. You're ripping off a well-known jingle and claiming it as your own. No, that's my music. How did you get that music? I made it on GarageBand. Really? And I'm in here trying to cut a spot. You made it on GarageBand. First of all, how did you get into this studio? I paid. I paid for this. Studio time. You're paid with what? With money? With trade. With estimate. Okay. And second of all, you're promoting you being at an appearance for Boy Scouts? Yes. That's it? You got paid to do a Boy Scout thing? I didn't get paid to do the Boy Scout thing. I'm trying to get paid by having people find out who I am. All right. And that, you're telling me, is your music. That is my music. 100%. You know how I am about copy infringement, Mike. Come on. All right.
Could play the rest of me. Go ahead. Okay, yeah. So, like I said, out at the Santee location. I don't have the address yet. But it's the Pinewood Derby. Look out for it. Troop 11. Like I said, Eskimo. O'Reilly. See that? That says O'Reilly. That's the music. No, you said O'Reilly. I know. I said that that was... I didn't. I don't know what this is. This is your engineer's fault. My engineer. My music was... I gotta go. Yeah. That is ridiculous. You see what I'm talking about? It's ridiculous. Now do you know what you do? No, I didn't do that. Mike came in and you started pushing buttons and everything got mixed up. You're ripping off the Craig and O'Reilly commercials. You can't do that. Look, you came in and pushed all those buttons. Do your plugs. What do you got? Okay, fine. I'm not even going to do the derby anymore because you guys ruined it. You know what that is, Woods?
It's where they race little wooden cars for the Boy Scouts. Yeah, it is. The Cub Scouts. I've read Archie comics before. Of course. Did I know about the Pinewood Derby? That's right. Yeah, well, you know what? I've been to one before. I'm giving back to the community, which is more than I can say for you. Listen, you have to start somewhere, I think is a well-known phrase. Yeah, that's true. Maybe gigs. It's like the Sahara in here. Can I get some water? Gosh. She always gets nervous and dry-mouthed when she comes in. Oh, yeah. You think she'd remember to bring water one day? Maybe you bring your own water. Maybe. I gave you my rider. I emailed you my rider yesterday. What would be on the EBW rider? What do you demand? Feathers. No, I'll put it on my blog. You don't have a blog on MikeyShow.com. I will, Mike. Maybe you should, actually. Gosh. How great would it be to have an Eskimo Blue Waters blog? Done. Holy cow. We'll talk to Jared today. Yeah, that would be awesome, Jay. Yeah, we'll do it. We'll get it done. Oh, gosh, that would be huge. Yeah, we'll do it. Consider it done, VW. There'd be another blog that's not updated. Are you referring to somebody on the show? Jay. Jay with the jab. Wow. Wow. Wow. Because I think that you could go to everyone's blog last night and you'd...
You'd find they're all there. Anyway, gosh, it's so hot in here. I do have one other appearance on the 4th I'd like to promote. Go ahead. I'm playing the San Ysidro Border Crossing at 4pm. Wait. What? You're playing the San Ysidro Border Crossing? Yes. Have you ever seen the line? That's like a goldmine. It's like playing Madison Square Garden, basically. Sure, yeah. And then she can tell people on her resume, I played to 4,000 people. Yeah, exactly. Granted, they were going into Mexico at the time. No, you leave that part out. No, you don't say that part. I played to 4,000 at least people. Right, yeah. But yeah, I got permission from my friend Esteban to set up. Esteban. There's going to be two shows, actually. Is there? There's going to be the 4 o'clock and the 6 o'clock. Okay. And the 4 o'clock one, it's a family friend, by the way. It's family friendly. Oh, really? Family-friendly. Drive by in your car. First one is not. The first ventriloquist act at 4 o'clock is family-friendly. The 6 o'clock one... 6 o'clock one's going to be a little blue. Are you doing any music, or is it just ventriloquism? No, it's just ventriloquism. Just four hours of ventriloquism. Maybe some donkey business, but we'll see. Wow! Oh, dear. You are the creepiest creep.
You are the CBS creep. All right, you are. Thank you. Thanks for coming in, EBW. She's a nut. I can't wait to read her blog, man. You never know what to expect. I cannot wait to read the Eskimo Blue Waters blog. So this is Tiger Woods. Yesterday he goes on the CBS Early Show, and he's talking about what he would tell his kids about the troubles that he has had. Just be upfront and honest. Simple as that. My dad was the same way. He made mistakes. My mom did as well. We've all had troubles and we've all had successes. And you can't go through life without having mistakes. That's a good take. I don't think you lie. You know, and if it comes up, I don't think you lie. I think you have to be honest. How fun is that convo going to be telling your kids that you slayed a porn star? Can you imagine? That's got to be the worst, right? That sucks. 570. 1949 is our number. If you want to text us, it's 949mikey at gmail.com. We're going to do a little MIDI Madness. Love MIDI Madness. The idea with it is that I'm going to play you a song that's played through a bad Casio keyboard. Something EBW would have. Yeah. Probably something better than EBW. It might be better. First up, M1 Edward from San Diego. That's the first thing I thought too.
When I said Edward, I actually thought that. Edward, did you, did you, do you encounter people that the first thing they think of when they meet you is Edward Cullen? No, I've never got that. Team Edward. You have not got that. All right. He does not even want to ever get that. Don't even bring that up. Yeah, I won't do it. I won't do it. Shut your mouth. All right, here's what we do. I'm going to play you a song. It's going to be played through a bad keyboard and you tell me what it is. All I need. is title or artist, and you get to go see, blah, Vampire Weekend, all right? Are you ready, Edward? Yes. Here we go. Can you hear that, Edward? Yeah. You're just enjoying it, right? He's getting a pedicure. Do you have any idea? Beneath my wings? Yes, you're the wings beneath my wings. I will accept that. I will accept you are the wings beneath my wings. Hang on the line. Some may call it, do the wind beneath my wings. Yeah, yeah. Whatever. Wings, wind. Wings, wind. I have a question for you guys. How much do you like the fact that I completely forgot that it's usually one player against another? I know. I was waiting to see if it was going to be Team Jacob. That is one dollar. That's a dollar. It's a kangaroo court. Especially, I said, right before, I said, remember, it's head-to-head. He looked at me and nodded. I walked out of the room. I got it. Thanks. I didn't know it. Are you telling me something I already know? Yeah. What are you telling me that for, Jay? I know that. You know that.
M1RJ, you there? Yes, I am. RJ, you're going to be playing Steve. Steve, are you there? Yes, I am. Yes, I am. Different Steve. This one's from Old Town. Steve and RJ, all you do is say your name loudly if you know title or artist, okay? All right. Here we go. Gorgeous. Steve, Steve. Steve. Country Club. I thought he said country club at first. I was like, easy, Sienna. You want to jump with me? I'm going later today. That's right. Man, I did not hear Steve. Can you imagine me with a hearing aid in here? I was yelling. You know that's coming. He's like, Steve! Steve! Please! All right, let's see. Sorry about that.
Sorry about that, RJ. You gave it your best shot. M1 Freddy. All right, you're going up against Ivan. Ivan from National City. You there? Hey, guys. All right, brother. You guys ready to give this a shot? Yeah, let's do it. Here we go. Yell your name out if you know it. All right. Like, I'll hear you. He said, what the heck? Yeah. Really? Not everyone's as good as he would. It's driving me nuts. RJ. No, it's Freddy and Ivan. Dollar. One of you guys say your name. Freddie, right here. Go ahead, Freddie. I have no idea. That one was a rough one. Neither of you guys know? No. Man, not either. That was danger zone. Yeah. RJ knew it. Yeah. RJ knew it. The problem is that RJ already played the game and didn't say his name. But I'll tell you this. Lauren lost a dollar to the kangaroo court. Didn't she? Idiot.
Real sweetly. Sorry, guys. Sorry about that. We'll see you later. Let's see. We got M1 Sarah. Sarah, are you there? Yeah, it's actually M1 James. Okay, well, you know, same thing. James. Did your wife call in and get you on the line? Yeah, she sure did. We're pulling to work together. Gotcha. So, Sarah is your wife? Yes. I wish I could have you guys play against each other. I know. Put speakerphone. Yeah, do it. Can you guys do speakerphone? Yeah. Here, I'll do that. It's hard to hear, but we'll do it. All right. What do you think happens? Sarah's like, I want to play. Then he's like, no, no, no. I got this. Give me the phone. You got through? Give me the phone. I'll handle it. All right. Can you guys hear us on speaker? Yeah. Okay, cool. All right. I think you guys should not have a problem hearing this. And this is Man Against Wife. We've never done this before. And it's Sarah. And what's your name, bro? James. James. James and Sarah. Okay, cool. If you know your name. Just yell your name out. Are you ready? Okay. Here we go. James. Is it Whitney Houston? Oh, my gosh. She's like, see, babe, that's what I wanted to play. That's right. How great is it? He had his hand over Sarah's mouth. She's like, yeah. Well, at least we know who James is going to be taking to the concert, Sarah. Hang on the line. You're really both winners when you think about it.
So every relationship, the girl calls in for him so he can play. How great is that? A couple of things here. Great text that I want to get your take on. We got a really great text. It's about, what do you do when you meet a girl? You meet a girl at work. You're going out. Everything's cool. And you start to find some things out about who she's friends with. I'll be more specific when we come back, but also. Bellboard.com, they did a list of the best and worst national anthem performances because we've got the 4th of July coming up. This vehicle's over on the right shoulder now. Rolled a bunch of times earlier this morning. Still some debris in the middle of the road. They do have a tow truck on the scene trying to remove it. Five southbound, or excuse me, the five northbound, actually, between Palm Avenue and J Street. It's pretty slow right now in the upper 20s. It's time for the FM 94.9 Authentic Surf Report. Good morning to you. This is Bird from Dragon Eyewear with the FM 94.9 Authentic Surf Report for a Friday morning. Brought to you, of course, by Guayaquil Yerba Mate. And heading into this Fourth of July weekend, we've got some swells starting off the... The day right now, west-northwest wind swell has picked up significantly, overriding some south-southwesterly swell combination. It's kind of on the taper. That end result means that we've got ways to chest-eye-plus surf at all areas, standout spots, even seeing that occasional head-eye-plus set wave. That's the good news. The bad news is we're dealing with a 0.0 low at about 7.30 this morning, so that is sapping most areas out of at least some size and strength. So look for some improvement throughout the morning as the tide fills back in.
Pretty broken up and shifty, as mentioned. Reef breaks not looking all that good. A couple selective corners here and there. The emphasis is on the beach breaks with some pick-and-choose corners there as well, mixed with some closeouts, sandbars, and the structure areas being in a better place to be. Overcast skies, no winds, and water temp likely to drop off quickly with that wind swell being dominant. So that's kind of the good with the bad, or the bad with the good, I should say. Bigger surf sometimes means colder water. So for up-to-the-minute surf reports forecast, go to surpline.com. This has been the FM 94.9 Authentic Surf Report. Now back to The Mikey Show with Mikey. I don't want to cry. I don't want movies that make me cry. Lauren. I'm so scared of authority, so I start crying. Woods. I haven't moisturized in days. Dying. Sienna. I'm a big girl now. Got married, having a baby. Now I can rent a car. Yeah, like long, soft kisses. Whatever. On FM 94.9. Reminds me of crashing a Honda S2000 into a ditch in Texas. That a boy. Wow.
Yeah, don't drive a Honda S2000 on ice. You know, when you see a lot of cars pulled over to the side of the road, why would you go, oh, I wonder why they're all doing that, and then just keep going? Maybe you just don't drive a Honda S2000. Yeah, really? I'm so glad that Woodsy just kind of zinged me. Oh, really? Are you? Because we're going to get to him here in just a second. All right, you guys. On the cover of the Union Tribune today, you may remember a boating accident back in December between Coast Guards and a boat holding some family members on it. A little eight-year-old boy was killed during the San Diego Bay Parade of Lights. Well, yesterday, the Coast Guard filed charges against four of their enlisted boat operators for the role in the collision. So that's a big story today. Also, the California State Assembly just approved a $20 million settlement for J.C. Dugard, the 11-year-old girl who was kidnapped and held captive. She's now 29, so she's going to get a lot of money. That's right. Yeah. Woodsy? The Padres lost last night to the Houston Astros. Not a good move. And Vincent Jackson has been suspended for three games by the NFL for violating their substance abuse policy.
They put together a list. If you want to, you can go see it for yourself at Billboard.com. But they put together a list of the best and the worst national anthems ever because it's Fourth of July. So off the air, we were taking some guesses on the best and the worst. First of all, the best. Whitney Houston. Jimi Hendrix. It's a good guess. Jimi Hendrix is a good guess. Anybody else? Mariah Carey is a good guess. I will tell you that in the top three. Jimi Hendrix and Whitney Houston are both there. Christina Aguilera. That's a great guess. The number three best of all time, Carrie Underwood. Wow. By the way, she's from some little podunk town in Oklahoma. She probably did this before she was even on American Idol. Probably sang the national anthem in that podunk little town a hundred times. There's a video of her when she was like 10 doing that at fairs and stuff. How crazy. That's gorgeous. She's great. It's really good. The number two, Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock in 1969. It's pretty good.
That is great. Man, that's so cool. Such an iconic moment. It is. You hear that and you see it. Instantly, you see it. Jay, what was it like there? When you were there, what was it like? Well, it was his 42nd birthday, so yeah. That's good. That is good. And then the number one, the best national anthem performance ever. was the Whitney Houston 1991 Super Bowl performance. Pre-crack Whitney Houston. Yes. Was word around the campfire that it was lip sync? Yep. Sounds like it. Really? Sounds like it, doesn't it? That they pre-recorded it and she just moved her mouth. No way. Oh, yeah. Everybody's thought that. Tell you what. Who cares? It's still her. It's a set of pipes, man. Yeah. And a really good voice. Most stadiums are always pre-recorded. Really? Yeah, they don't want you to get in there and all of a sudden act the idiot. She didn't do the finger, the no you didn't finger. Now she sounds like, and the Rockets, right? Something Larry King singing the national anthem. Mariah Carey kind of too. Oh, yeah. Mariah Carey's voice has gotten a little raspy. Well, she did that thing, the free or whatever she did on that part. And I remember after that, like little events that we would have at school, we used to get in trouble if we tried to mimic. Because that was the big thing after she did the.
Oh, whatever. Whatever the thing she did with her, the free. We tried to like, we would do that when we get pulled out of the national anthem and have to sit in the office. Really? I mean, not me. Not you, obviously. But people would do it. You wouldn't do that. That was like, I think I was in middle school when that happened. And that was like the big thing to imitate that. Any guesses on the worst national anthems ever? Roseanne. No, she did. Did she do national anthem? Yeah. Yeah. National anthem. And that's actually what M1 Herald said. He said Roseanne. Any other guesses on the worst? That was here, was it not? It was here in San Diego. Yeah, she grabbed her crotch and spit. Yeah. Disgusting. It was at Jack Murphy Stadium. Wow. Before it was Q. The Murph. Mm-hmm. The number three worst ever was Red Sox-Yankees game 2003, and it was Michael Bolton singing the national anthem at that game. Over his track. He is singing over his track. I thought maybe he was echoing. No, that's it. It's pre-recorded. He pre-recorded it, but then they're leaking. They didn't turn his mic off. How skeeved out would you be if you were in the audience? Oh, I'd be so skeeved out. I thought it would be silent. Is it like echoing against a green wall? It's not an echo. The stadium's so big that...
By the time your voice kind of reaches back to you, you're way delayed. I don't think it's a delay, dude. That's not what it is. I'm telling you, you'll stand there and talk, and you won't hear yourself for a full three seconds because it takes that long. So you freak out. You're like, well. And then all of a sudden, it's coming back at you, and you're like, okay. Oh, that would wig me out so bad. So it's a combination of both. That may be it. It's a delay of the echo, and maybe he didn't have a head beat. I did it at Qualcomm one time. You did it? Yeah. You sang it? No, I didn't sing. I just was talking on a microphone. Did you get all freaked out? Oh, they said, okay, you're going to hear a little bit of an echo. And I was like, oh, 60,000 people in the... Oh, my God. Holy cow. What did they want you to do? Welcome everybody? No, no. We were doing... It was the monster trucks. Yeah? And we did this giant slip and slide with chocolate and everything. And people had to... Oh, my God. Yeah. That's great. What haven't you done? Seriously. I know it. What haven't you done? I want to pick that brain one weekend. Oh, yeah. So this is the second worst of all time. Roseanne Barr, right here in San Diego, 1990. She thought it would be funny. I can't listen. Booze. Why did they even ask her? Because at the time she was huge. Literally. You know what I'm trying to say? But I mean, you have to know just by hearing her talk that she would not have a pleasant sounding singing voice. Yeah, it's probably true. That is booze.
That's the worst thing I've ever heard. So disrespectful, too. So there's something worse than that. Yeah, there is. By the way, I was told that Tom Arnold, she was dating Tom. I can't imagine if she was dating or married to him yet. Tom put her up to it. Oh, my gosh. Genius. Tom said, go out there and just be goofy. Mm-hmm. And she was like, really? Do you think I have to go now? And he goes, yeah. That's a good idea. Yeah. So just go out there and just try it. I remember the name of this next person. And I remember doing the audio of it at the time. It was a Dallas Cowboys game. The number one worst national anthem ever was someone named Kat DeLuna at a 2008 Dallas Cowboys game. And I do remember this. Tonight's featured entertainer is 20-year-old pop sensation Kat DeLuna.
I just remembered, if memory serves, I believe she starts to do what they call runs. I'm not talking about number three. It's when you do the... No, God. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Sorry, but it's not worse than Roseanne. No. Oh, no. They're booing? They're starting to. Ouch. Uh-oh. Cookie Monster just showed up. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Jeez. Oh, no. Osei was that. She said Osei was that? Yeah, Osei was that star Spagel. You getting it?
In the free. In the free. Oh, wow. Ooh. Wow. Don't add that. Don't add that. I guess it's probably worse than Roseanne because she was supposed to be real. That's the deal. Oh, no. Wow. I think that is a deal. That was bad. 570-194-9 if we're forgetting any, by the way. Okay. Are we ready? It's time to do it. I've been waiting. Oh, yeah. Gosh, I forgot. We're really late. We were going to do this at 730. We're really late doing this, but let's get to it. Light the fires. Let's get the roast going. All right. Real good. Well, here's the thing. What is it, first of all? Will you tell me? No, we have to just play it. Should we just play it? Wait, okay, hold on. Okay, let me reset. Reset. On Wednesday after the show, Woodsy was in the office, alone, and I was about to walk into the office.
When I stopped myself because I heard what he was doing. Is this when I was on hold? Just wait. And I was like, oh, my gosh, oh, my gosh, oh, my gosh. Going to my backpack, grabbed the recorder, turned it on. You little sneaker. And I stood outside the office. It's right around the corner, so he had no idea I was there unless he had walked out of the office. So I turned on my recorder, and I got some audio. Really? Uh-huh. This is Santa's new thing. She's going to secretly record us, and I'm terrified. It's so fun. And then I came in yesterday morning. I said, Mike, I got a little piece of gold. We're going to need to play it, but I needed to edit it together. There may be a few bad words that couldn't go in the air during it. Jay, page one. Jay, is it page one? I emailed it to you, Mike. Oh, oh, oh, is that how it was? Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry. Okay, sorry, sorry. Okay, I do, I do. Are you ready? Yeah. Really? So this was... Hey, this is Steve. I'm waving my phone. Please leave a message. I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks. Hey, this is Steve. I'm...
not by my phone. Steve. Hey, you've reached my voicemail. I'm not here. Please leave a message as soon as you can. That's a... The freaking intercom went off. Hey, this is Steve. I'm not here. Please leave a message. I will get back to you as soon as I can. Thank you very much. That's a good one. Hi, buddy. He walked out and I was sitting there and I was like... He had no idea. No idea. That's mortifying. I like the one, leave a message as soon as you can. As soon as you can. No, but he was in there, and there were some that I had to cut out. How many had he said? I heard probably eight different ones. Oh, my God. Yes. I've done it. I've done it. But some of them were, like, really mumbly, and then there was one where he swore, and so I was like, man, I can't put that one in. Let's hear it again. Let's not. Hey, this is Steve. I've got my phone. Please leave a message. I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks. Hi, Steve. There was nothing wrong with that one. Hey. Yeah, what was it? Let's start again. Let's walk through the process. There's never a good one.
When you're doing it yourself, you think you sound awful. Let's walk through the process. You tell me, what was the problem with each individual voicemail message that you were trying? Hey, this is Steve. I'm away from my phone. Please leave a message. I'll get back to you as soon as I can. What was your motivation on that one? What was the problem there? It wasn't very smiley. Yeah, it sounded grouchy. It was grouchy? And if it's your cell phone, are you ever going to be away from it? I love there's one in there that's like perfect, but then the intercom comes off. Hey, this is Steve. I just completely pooped the bed on this one here. Just a complete train wreck. I want to hear the train wreck again. Let's go back. Hey, this is Steve. I'm not by my phone. That's right. You've reached my voicemail. I'm not here. Please leave a message as soon as you can. As soon as you can. Call Janet. It's great. Listen, that wasn't going to be the right take anyway. As soon as you can. Dang it. As soon as you can. I'm so stupid. It doesn't work. Hey, this is Steve. I'm not here. Please leave a message. I will get back to you as soon as I can. Thank you very much. That's nice. He went out with that one. I think that's the one I went with. Was it great? Was it?
Let's hear it one more time, that last one. Maybe we hear yours. Maybe we hear your perfect voicemail. I mean, that's a good point. Get Mike's voicemail on the phone. No! Yes, I'm hearing Mike's voicemail! Call Mike's voicemail. Yes! Whenever you leave a message, it's yourself. There's no way. I sound like an idiot. What's with my voice? Hi, it's Sienna. I'm not here. I'm lodging diamonds. I'm really always enthusiastic. Hi, this is CNN. I'm in South Africa again. Looking for black diamonds. Let's do this. Hi, it's Lauren. I'm looking for black guys. Please send a message. Touche. Please say what you're going to think. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's take a break and let's come back and listen to everybody's voice. And we hear how we all... Probably. And she took her recorder out and decided to roll a little tape. Hey, this is Steve. I'm away from my phone. Please leave a message. I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thank you. Did you keep it? Thank you so much. Thank you so much. Maki. I want to know what you loved about that one. What made you go, yup, keeper? Good mood. I can tell you were smiling. I like it. My dad makes fun of that because I say, thank you so much. Thank you so much. Todd's left is me and Jay. I don't know if I've ever heard either one of yours. You never call anybody. I've heard. I've heard them. She never calls anybody. That's why. I sure do. Do you? Everybody picks up for me because they love me. Mm-hmm. Like, oh, my God, look at this. Lauren's calling. Something must be wrong. You ever called Lauren and she picks up? Never. I don't think... Oh, stop it. Never once. You're such a liar. Never once. I don't think it's ever happened. Never once. That's what I hear. I say, what up, son? Yeah, what up, son? The one time. Maybe this is technically difficult. It is. Let's try this, but not the Incorporated. All right. That's a lot of sense. We may have a system now. It's going so smoothly, though. Hello, this is J.S. Bell. Please leave a message and I'll get back with you as soon as possible. Thank you. That was so, like... All business. That was, like, very dad-like to me. Yeah, very dad. Woods just wrote on the dry erase board to me. He just wrote, wow, this bit has legs.
We do this every Friday. As our in-studio audience is falling asleep. Our entire audience just fell asleep till the 4th of July holiday. Oh. Boy, I really hope mine pays off well. Mike. Is yours bilingual? Hola, esta Miguel. Hi, this is Mike. I hate everybody. The worst radio bit ever performed. I can't get to the phone, so please leave me a message and I'll call you back. Okay. Hi, it's my head right here. Call me back. That one took you a few tries. What was that?
That took a few tries. Hi, it's Mike. I'm not here. Leave a message, please. I'm on my way to get the droid. If you're not here, I'm at Lord of the Rings, Avatar. So leave me a message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thank you. Percent of your chance, Mike's going to change that as soon as we get up here. Hey, it's Mike. I'm not here. 150%. You may have heard my voice on the radio. It sounds a little bit different on my phone. Hey, this is Mike. I'm polishing up my Dungeons and Dragons characters. I'm casting runes in my backyard. Casting runes. Really? I'll give you one big cricket for this whole bit. Yeah, thank you. Casting runes. What is that? It's like an old spiritual thing where you find out your fortune. Is that like the thing where Woods owes a dollar to the king? That's kind of what I like what it is. Because you guys are ignorant. I have the dollar. That makes sense. Hey, we paint with a broad brush here, pal. That's right. I don't know what that means. Oh, wow. All right, dude. Listen, Maki. Sorry, Micah, did I offend your sensitive, delicate sensibilities? I was an English major, Maki. Oh, wow.
Kid's real good, Mikey. People love the words. I hate it. Why do you hate it so much? It's so fun. It sounds nothing like me. Kid doesn't drink, pal. So, how can I sound like that, Mikey? Nobody tells the kid what to do. Kill me, kill me, kill me, kill me. Mikey. I got tears in my head. That's great, Mikey. Mikey, you're a Sally, that's why. A thousand percent, Mikey. Sally. Just a Sally. You just go sit over there and cry all day long. I was in perfect, Bill. Maki. You guys perfect over there or what, Maki? Kill me. Maki show, 94.1. Let me check it out sometime. Maybe we record your voicemail with this voice. That's right. All right, here is a text we got into this show. And you can call us and tell us what you think about this. 570-1949. said, Mikey, I need you guys to let me know if I'm completely tripping out. But I met this girl at work. We've been dating for a month. She's doing great. But she has zero girlfriends. The only two friends she has are two guys from work. Should I be concerned? Well, first of all, no, not at all. I mean, because I think Lauren is a great girl. And Lauren has two male friends at work.
No. Isn't it a little strange if a girl doesn't have any girlfriends? Yes. It is, right? Very. Isn't it? Well, any. Yeah, that's a stretch. Lauren's got girlfriends. She's going to Otay Mesa this weekend. Yeah, Ohio. She's going to Ohio. No, it's weird. It is strange if a girl doesn't have any girlfriends. I think it's odd if a guy... Doesn't have any boyfriends. Now, if a guy doesn't have any guy friends, that would be just as odd, right? Yeah, absolutely. I will say this. I think I get along better with women. Yeah, I get along better with guys. You do? No. I get along better with women because there's no, there's no. Because you're all dainty. Judging. Yeah, there's no preconceived sort of deal where I have to be especially guyish. Because I'm not. That's just not who I am. And I think I'm more sensitive. than your average guy. And so I can speak, see the judging eyes that Woodsy's giving me right now. I was about to say, write that down. That's why I don't have as many guy friends. I feel like around girls, I can speak. You can be yourself. I can be myself. Oh my God. Talk about gardening. Yeah, gardening, cooking. Yeah. I don't have to pretend to be something that I'm not. I dated a guy who had like zero guy friends.
And he had just, well, he had moved here, but it wasn't, it was years before. And like, I was, that was not a good thing. They get clingy, don't they? Yeah, he was clingy, but he like wanted friends. And it was like, why don't you have them? The important thing is to know why a girl wouldn't have girl friends. Well, I watched, when I was on the treadmill at the gym, I watched one of those episodes of The Bachelor. And the chick that won, the Vienna chick. It was like she was super catty and like kind of floozy and she didn't have any girlfriends. Yeah. So could be the case. And has everybody met the girl that will cycle through? Oh, yeah. The girl that will cycle through. In other words, they'll have- Don't they cycle every month? Okay. Once a month? No, they go through them and then they get a new group. Yeah. Oh, I see what you're saying. They'll get a good friend. They'll blow up with that friendship. It seems like the greatest friendship ever. Overnight. And then they show- They're crazy feathers. Yeah. And that girl goes, oh, you're crazy. Yeah. And she splits. And then she gets a new friend who in the very beginning thinks, oh, this girl is really cool. And then she goes, oh, you're crazy. And then she cycles out. Usually the guy does the same thing with that girl. Yeah. Oh, you're crazy. Yeah, you're nuts. Yeah, the girl that doesn't have girlfriends generally has had a lot of boyfriends, no? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
570-1949. Maybe you're that girl, or maybe I'm wrong about you. But I remember in high school, I don't know if this applies to the adult world, you have that really, really ridiculously good-looking girl, and sometimes she'd be the new girl or whatever, and girls would be so jealous that they wouldn't want to befriend her. And so sometimes she'd just be like, all right, well, guys are nice to me. I don't know if that happens in adult world. Let's show it is, yeah, for sure, in high school. It's so strange. You would think that girls would be, would think, oh, that's pretty cool. I want to hang out with her. Young girls are jealous. They're jealous. See, guys like to hang out with good looking dudes. Yeah. Because you get, yeah, you pick up scraps. Yeah. It's not bad. Yeah. Or you get to be, or guys, a lot of times guys would like to hang out with me because I'm the BFF. The big fat friend. Now, let me tell you, everybody's got to have the BFF because it does help them to look a lot better looking. Yeah, I think girls are more likely to do that than guys. Well, some guys, you know, some guys will do that. A lot of girls have that mother hen in their group that they go out with. I don't think so. She's like, you know. All my friends are dimes. You call them the grenade. The grenade. Sometimes you have to jump on that grenade for your boy. Yeah. You do it.
In other words, you jump on it. You have to talk to that friend. You got to talk to her. You may, you know, may even have to make out with her. Not me. But, you know, sometimes you have to jump on the grenade. Yeah, you do. You're like, hey, yeah, yeah, they're having a good time. They're getting along. I'll dance with Chubbs here and we'll have a great time and buy her some drinks. Maybe get her a hoagie later. And so you have to close the deal. Now, are you saying that? She'll buy you drinks. You know that? Yeah. Are you saying that because that girl. hinders the progress that your friend is... Absolutely. How? Where are you going? Why are you dancing with him? You're not going home with him, are you? Are you guys making out? Shut up here, have a taco. Someone's got to keep that friend occupied. Absolutely. M1 Babbitt from Encinitas. Are you there? Yes, it's Babette. It's Babette. You're the first time I've ever met him, Babette. What do you think about that? It's pretty awesome. It is. How old are you? I'm actually 49. 49 years old. And what were you calling to say, Babette? Well, I've not had a lot of girlfriends all my life. And when I do have them, they end up being a pain in the butt, some of them. I do get along better with men because, like you said, I can be myself. Sometimes when you're with...
Girlfriends, they want you to do something. They want you to be like them. Talk to me about the last girlfriend that you had. Talk to me about the last girlfriend that you had. Really close girlfriend. How long ago was it? Well, it's been, I haven't talked to her for a few years. And what was the falling out about? She just started getting really weird. She started going through her 40s. She's been single for a long time. Actually, she was in a relationship for a long time, and she broke up with the guy, got involved with somebody else. And I think she started having regrets. I know, but that's, wait, wait, wait. Yeah. You're telling me all about her and somebody else, which is great. What I'm interested in, and I want you to get right to the heart of it. Why did you guys stop talking? She was trying to cheat with my husband. Oh. My best friend was trying to get my husband to get her pregnant so she can start her life. Whoa. Okay. Well, that's, hang on, Babette. Hang on, hang on, hang on. You're still married to that guy? Yes, I am, but he told me about it. He didn't do anything. He told me about it. Okay. All right, so let's go to the... Hang on, Babette, Babette, Babette, Babette, Babette. Babette, let me lead you, please. Let me pretend we're dancing right now, and I'm going to lead, okay? Because I am fascinated, but I got to ask questions, and I need you to be as succinct and to the point as you possibly can be, okay?
Sure. Okay, so let's go to the girlfriend before that one. Oh, the girlfriend before that one. Well, she was a good friend, too. Why did you stop talking? I stopped talking to her because she just got, they just get all weird. I know, but how did she get weird? Well, she wants you to go do things like, you know, well, for instance, you know, she wants to go party. That's fine. I don't mind going to party, but then she wants you to start. Going to all these guys' house and bouncing around to place to place. And in this economy and the way everything is. I'm trying to figure this out. I can't figure it out. I know. I really want to figure this out, but I can't. It would take much longer than. I guess what I'm trying to say is they want you to do things that you don't want to do. And they keep pushing and pushing. But Babette. Like threesomes or something? I don't know what she means. Well, what I don't understand. Babette, here's my question.
See, don't you usually have friends with the people you have stuff in common? Yeah. Right? Yeah, I do. It starts out that way. We do have things in common. We go and ride horses and we do all these things. And sometimes they're in relationships. Maybe when they get out of their relationships, they change. But I'm in a relationship, so they want me to be like them because they're not in a relationship anymore. Okay. So girls are maybe more pushy than guys. Guys will just let you be and do your thing. It's like Bark Malman. Bark Malman is a 38-year-old single man. And he's a friend of mine. For those of you that don't know, he's from Dallas. And he's single. And, you know, it's tough to be a married man and have a bunch of single friends. And so, you know, they're like... They want you to go out. They want you to do stuff. You're like, I'd rather kick it at home with the wife and the dogs, you know? So I can see where she's coming from on that. I can, too. You know? I can, too. But that happens once or twice. How does it happen up until 49? Right. That's a good question, right? I mean, that is interesting to me. I wish I had more time. Maybe she's more of a lone wolf. Could be. You know what we're going to do?

That's Zucker. And the bill is $943? No, no. It was $9,043. You said you only had to order a new gestunk in a pump. Hey, a car has a whole system. All parts connected from gestunk in a pump to gas-capped to steering wheel. Oh, I knew I should have gone to Toyota Carlsbad. They have certified techs, warrantied factory parts, and they know my car's history. So what's your complaint, pal?

I'm Stacey Cohen, FM 94.9. And now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. I don't really like to swim, unlike most Latinos. Lauren. I got a little pepper up my nose. Had to sneeze. I'm busy being dynamic. Call Mikey. Tell him I'm going to be a little late to work. I'm telling you, man, the life of an actor, it does seem kind of like a cool job. Kind of? I mean, seriously. You get to play different characters and, like, really explore and, like, be crazy. Travel places. Travel. Sounds fun. Make a buttload of money. Like, the biggest complaint that I've heard about actors is, oh, there's so much time that goes by between scenes. There's a lot of, like...
I've been on sets before. It's like hurry up and wait. Yeah. But as an extra. And it's like, oh, really? So you got to like, what, read? It's just a long day. No, but it is. It's a long day. You have a really early call time and then you're there. You know how it is. Sometimes when we have our meetings, we're just sitting around. I actually like those meetings. Yeah, but you leave and you're like, oh, I'm tired. We have a very early call time every morning. Yeah. Yeah. But we don't have 12-hour, 16-hour, 18-hour days every day. Yeah, we don't make $7 million a picture either. And imagine this. Imagine if instead of doing a meeting where you're thinking about creative things, you're just kind of kicking back and you're just reading. Yeah. That's so great. You have to redo scenes a lot. You have to stand around. People have to put makeup on you. Yeah, Woodsy's playing the smallest violin ever with his index finger and his thumb. And I'm all with them. Well, and all the stuff like people don't realize with us, there's a lot of stuff that goes, we don't just show up and be like, what are we going to do today? There's a lot of stuff that goes on behind the scenes. So the actors have to like research the roles, memorize their lines. That is true. Can we do that one day? What? Just show up, see what happens. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Never. Just feel alive, Mikey.
See if you have it in you to feel alive. There comes a point where I know Woodsy is just getting me. I'm starting to get it now. Are you? I think. Because I'm dead serious. I would do it. He's got his trident. He's just poking you. I know. I would do it. He is. It would be so fun. Sienna, right? He'll do that with me where he'll try to just push the button. All the time. Yeah. Pretty much every conversation. He just gave me the eyebrows. I know he did. What's going on in the news? Big news stories right now. There was a shootout yesterday near the U.S.-Mexican border between some rival groups. Police believe the groups were involved in a drug and human trafficking, which is the reason for the fight. But 21 people died. This was 12 miles south of the border. The cause for the shootout is still unknown, but they did arrest nine people and six of them were treated for non-life-threatening injuries in the hospital. On a lighter note, Eclipse. The Twilight Saga still breaking records. Now, we talked about this yesterday. The midnight opening, only three hours. They made over $30 million. And just opening day, they made over $65 million. So they'll probably never make another one. Really? Of course they will. No, there's one more. There's one more. Twilight 98. There's one more. We'll get the numbers after this weekend, and they'll be huge. How many of those is there? There's four books. And so when would the last one come out?
Next year. Yeah, probably 2011. Or Christmas. No, when did the last one come? Oh, when did it? No, I don't know. Eight months ago. Does anyone know if she's writing another one? There's been talk that she's writing like a prequel kind of thing. She should. Oh, why? Does she tie things up in this last one? There's always room for more. Yeah? There's a whole, I mean, Bella and Edward are just starting their lives together. They've got eternity. She could write for eternity. Blah, blah. Blah. So my wife went and saw it last night. I asked her how it was. She said she was like a kid laying on her stomach watching old time, listening to old time radio with her chin resting against her little cupped hands. She loves it. I guess people are really into it, man. What are you going to do? That was a good visual. Did Rebecca write that? Yeah, she did. Yeah, she did. Woodsy, what's going on in sports? Well, Phil Jackson is returning to the Lakers for one more year. He's the winningest coach in NBA history. He's going for his 12th title. And Vincent Jackson has been suspended for three games by the NFL for violating their substance abuse policy. It's really going to mess things up with what's going to happen to him with us or somebody else. Let's see. What else is going on? Kelsey Grammer's getting a divorce. Yeah, his wife filed for divorce.
She's a pretty little bird. Yeah, she is a little dime. She filed for divorce yesterday in L.A. citing irreconcilable differences. She also wants primary physical custody of both of their kids. Weird. And spousal support. Real weird. What are the best potato chips? It's easy. Lay's. Lay's the best, right? No. There's different categories. Would you dare say Pringles? Best original Lay's kettle cooked original. The kettle cooked. Stale. Yeah, it tastes like stale chips. Stale chips. Why? I don't like kettle chips because they taste stale. Oh, I love it. Kettle chips, 15 years ago, kettle chips, I don't think were around, okay? And what I remember of opening a bag of Lay's, if they had been open for a month, that's what it tasted like, a kettle chip. Yeah. But sometimes you get a bag of lathes and you get to the bottom and there's just these thin little fragments of what used to be a chip. And we all drink the bag. Yeah, the kettle cook ones, it's almost like a potato slice. Yeah, it's also like shrapnel in your mouth. I've cut my mouth on one of those before. Yeah, they're like little pieces of shrapnel. Don't eat too many. He's a guy who eats metal in the room. Don't worry about it. What about the best crinkle cut?
It's Ruffles. Yeah, Ruffles. For sure. Is there another crinkle cut chip in the world? No. I don't think there is, no. When I'm super tubby, I belong to the Chip of the Month Club. You did? No, no. Write that down. Write that down. Write that down. Write that down. Mikey, there's no such thing. Yeah, there is. The Chip of the Month Club. It was a little club he started with his other obese friends. What do you guys want this month? Let chocolate chips count. Why the boo-boo is out loud? Because I need it to make me happy in those moments. Best barbecue chip. You don't want to know anything about my chip of the month club? Not really. Is it real? I thought it was just a line you said. It's you and your buddies, didn't it? It was real. No, it wasn't. It was real. It was real. It was real. It was real. Where did you sign up for it? Where did you meet? I'll Google it right now. Oh, boy. Oh, my gosh. No, it was mail order. It came in the mail. One brand or all brands? I just started to Google the word Google. You have lost your mind officially today. Come back to us, Mikey. All right, here we go. Yeah, it's called Anchor's Food Finds. Oh my gosh, I can see on his computer it comes with boxes of chips. Yeah, anchorsfoodfinds.com. What did your mom and dad say when those arrived for you?
Did you have a P.O. box you sent it to so they wouldn't know? I think I did this in Dallas, actually. Oh, my gosh. It's like a pot of gold. Yeah. I went through a phase where I was doing, like, the beer of the month club, the chip of the month club. Jelly of the month club. Yeah. Or just the chip. Yeah. Oh, my gosh. It's $248 a year for 12 months. That sounds good. Well, they started, though, as they start at $39.50. A month. You can get the real expensive ones. Yeah, you can get more expensive ones. For three months, it was $99. How many bags of chips did you get? But I got the six-month one. Did you just sit and eat chips? What did you need that? I was like, oh, I want to be a connoisseur of chips. I'm going to try different chips. Listen, I didn't have a girlfriend, Woods. What do you want from me? Not when you subscribe to the chip of the month. Yeah, that may be a big reason for it. Yeah, I wonder why I didn't have a girlfriend. Chicken or the egg, pal. I got mint jelly. I got strawberry jelly. Would you like to come over to my house and try some of my chips? Barbecue chips with mint jellies. Oh, God. How come I feel like Mikey? Have you ever dipped your chips in ranch? I don't think you would share your chips. Yeah. Yeah, that's true. My chips. Every day something comes out about Mikey and I'm like, really?
I can't tell. It explains so much. I love it. Do you have an opinion on the best barbecue chip? Lay's. Delicious. Casey Masterpiece. Casey Masterpiece. Lay's kettle cooked. Yes, I'm dumb. Why? Mesquite barbecue. Because they're gross. How about, well, never mind. Salt and vinegar? My wife bought the other day some barbecued flavored wafers. Baked. Where baked Lay's is repugnant. I pitched a fit. I tried them and I go. How dare you? I go, isn't this... They weren't good. They don't taste like chips, the baked ones. They taste like wafers. I like them. Wafers. They're good, but they just don't taste like chips. I go, these are like the communion wafers. Yeah. I gave Mikey communion at the beach with one. Are you serious? I thought they were good. I like them. They're not as greasy.
I wouldn't buy them, but I thought they were pretty tasty. You were just saying that to make her feel better, make me look like a D. That's not true. That's exactly right. Woods, I just said I wouldn't buy them, but I thought that they tasted good. They are good. I wasn't hating it. They're just not anything like a potato chip. If you take them out of the original packaging that Woods can't read, like you just put them in a Ziploc, he's like, oh, these are the best. Close my eyes. I'll do it any day. He reads organic or good for you or less calories. I'll bet you a paycheck that I can tell the difference. Oh, for sure. Well, baked Lay's and regular Lay's. Yeah, there is. But the kid got up at the beach and he goes, where's the chips? And she goes, they're right here, dear. And he goes, what the hell is this, dear? I don't want no bake lays. Get. And I go, let me see. And I tried him. I go, that's not bad. Weird. It's good. Those aren't bad. He goes, yeah. That was the worst. Where's some real chips? It's not like that was your only choice either. Jamie brought like 12 bags of chips. It's true. Homemade chocolate chip cookies. Sandwiches. And a bag of chessmen. Yeah, sandwiches. She had a nice oriental rug spread out. Origami all around the game. Candles. Candles. Little tea candles all over. Two girls fanning him. Feeding me grapes. It was awesome. She hooks it up real good. What else? What other ones?
salt and vinegar? Do you guys have an opinion? Jamie does. She likes Lay's salt and vinegar, huh? She was watching on some of those. I was too at the beach. I have the same relationship every time with salt and vinegar chips. I see them every once in a while and I go, yep. I want you. And then I get them and I take that first bite and I go, why did I do that? They're so good. I love them. Your tongue sizzles. Yeah, they tear up your mouth. And I go, yeah, well, that and like saliva instantly pours into your mouth. Salty and just so delicious. It's good to eat them with a bite of sandwich already in your mouth. How about the salt and cracked pepper? Gross. Gross. Well, salt and vinegar and the salt and pepper, they say the best chips are the Dirties brand or the Dirty brand. Yep. L-O-B. What's that even mean? Agreed. You like them? She's a dirty bird. Oh, yeah. Best jalapeno. This is a chip I've never heard of. Mikey. You ever heard of it? Anything Mexican and you say Mikey. Mikey.
Have you ever heard of Deep River Snacks chips? Uh-uh. Me neither, but I want to try those. I'm sure I had a chip of the month. And then the last one is the best cheese chip is the kettle New York cheddar. Yeah. That all sounds good. How about just chips? You know what was not listed there that's delicious? What? Is the Pringles. Oh, I love Pringles. I said in the beginning, they better not be on there. They're so good. I don't like Pringles original. No, I don't like original. Uh-uh. I like ranch and sour cream and onions. I like the sour cream and onions sometimes, but again, they don't taste like chips. Hey, Obese Mikey, did you ever do the bit where you took them out of the can like 10 at a time and went... Obese Mikey didn't do that. I did that, and I also used to make them flip to look like a duck. I don't like that. I like to take one individual Pringle and let my tongue form to the shape of the Pringle and then bite into it. I do that too. Don't we all do that? I like the stack of them. I like the sex, but then you get a lot of spillage. It's all over you. A lot of shrap. There's no way to do that. It's so good. We're really talking about how we eat Pringles. You guys just going to sit around and talk about Pringles and how good you eat them? Well, we caught our voicemails earlier. Didn't you hear that? Yeah, I did. That bit went great. Y'all should do that every day. I know it. You don't want to play hip-hop, but you'll sit around here and talk about Pringles and make bad phone calls all day, won't you? We will. Yeah, but you won't put any Tupac on like I've been suggesting. That's right.
That's right. That's because you called him Tupac and we didn't know who you were talking about. Did I say Tupac? Well, this time you said it right, but originally you said Tupac and we were like, what's wrong? That's right, because I've been spending time down in Compton. Sorry, L.O.B. I'm jealous. Go with her next time. Let's see. We're going to play a game here. Oh, boy. You want to? Yes. Got to get in the zone. What do we got? We will do... What are we doing? Radio charades. Oh, yeah, radio charades. Sorry. 570-1949. Now, I will be your eyes. This is actually really fun. We played this earlier in the week, and it was a blast. Jay came up with this game. When he did, I thought he was a nutball. Yeah. I thought he was high. Yeah. I thought he was smoking marijuana cigarettes. Maybe I was. Oh, my God. He just did that on L.O.B.'s mic and scared the pants off her. Literally. Not literally. Oh, my gosh. So the way that it works is Jay is going to say the name of a movie to Woods. Woods is going to act it out. Let me get M1 Ivan on the line. Are you there, Ivan? Yeah. Now, you're going to have... Do I have a timer here? Do I have a timer here? What do I use here, Jaybird? I'm going to have a timer, and you will have approximately 60 seconds in order to...
Figure this out, okay? All right. You got 60 seconds and let's see. Let me turn the microphones down so you can tell Woods what the movie is. I don't get to know what the movie is. I won't even know, bro, so I'm just going to be your eyes. You ready? Mikey? Yeah. Here we... The first number I hold up is the total number of words. Got it. Got it. Here we go. Say when. Go. Three words. Woodsy is doing like a dance. He's doing a dance. Okay, dance is one of the words. Three syllable, three words. Third word. Third word. Cat, like prowling, prowling. A cat or a lion. A lion or a cat. Oh, scratching, pawing, clawing. Pawing at the air. Dances and clawing. Dances, clawing. Dances, attack, attack. Howling, howling at the moon. He's howling at the moon. Dances and attacking.
Howling wildly up at the moon. Think of movies, dude. Yeah, dude, are you thinking about this, Ivan? Yeah, yeah. He's doing the dance. He's doing the dance. He's got the wolf. He's got dance and wolf, dance and wolf, dance and wolf. Man. Really? Really? Put down the pipe, Ivan. Holy crap. Three words. Dance is the first word. Wolf is the third. Dances with wolves? Possibly. Ivan, me and you are the dumbest people. You didn't get it? I didn't even know. Oh, my God. I'm not supposed to. Ivan is, but I didn't even get it. Michael. I did not get that. Yep. It's movies. It's movies. All right. M1 Fuzzy from Carlsbad. Are you there? I need the movie. I'm here. What's up, man? All right. Holy. How do you not get that? I know. I know. I got dances with wolves in the first two seconds. I know it. I know it. As soon as he started dancing, I was like, oh. All right. I'm going to turn the microphones down. And Fuzzy, I will be your eyes for you. You will have 60 seconds to be able to figure out this radio charade. Here we go.
Two words. Here's the first one. He's boxing, he's punching, he's boxing, he's punching, he's shadow boxing, he's getting in a fight. Fight, fight, fight, fight is the word. Fight club. Yes! You did it, dude. You did it. How do I even describe it? Oh, I was going to go like that, but I forgot. Very well done, Fuzzy. What's the prize, Jay? What prize do we have for Fuzzy? Vampire Weekend tickets. It's Tuesday, September 28th. Blah. Should we do another? Can I do it? Yeah. Yes. You do it, L.O.B. It was so fun. My heart's going to explode. M1 Yak from Camp Pendleton. How are you? I'm all right. How are you, Mikey? Good, bro. You're going to have 60 seconds. Jay's coming in to tell L.O.B. the name of the movie. Remember, it is Movies Yak. Are you ready? Yes. And here we go. Four words. This is the second word. She's pointing at her watch. It's time. Time.
He's pointing at a clock. Time is the word. Time is the word. Fourth word. Shooting. Shooting. Gun. Shooting. Death. Kill. Slicing the neck. Oh, passed out. Killed. Passed out. Killed. Third word. Here's the third word. Two syllables? Second word? No. Two people. Two people. No, just... Two. Two. The number two. Two... A time to kill? Yes! Mikey couldn't get it. It's two. I know that was confusing because you were thinking second word. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That was awesome. That was good. You got it. Never mind. I picked that movie and I didn't know what she was doing. Really? Yes, it was one of my ideas. You never give me any signs for syllables, right?
No, we don't do a syllable. But it was confusing to show you the number two. I should have drawn it on a piece of paper. I thought that was the whole second word thing. I freaking love Radio Charades. I love Radio Charades. You're a winner, bro. Hang on the line. My heart's racing. You guys get it! He got it. Did you know it, Sienna? Oh, yeah, everyone. Sienna's good at it. Something so... I mean, listen, I talk about humiliating things that I've done all the time. And we love it. Something happened to Jay. What? I can't wait. It's so embarrassing. Think of one of the most embarrassing things that could happen to you. If you made a top ten list of the ten most embarrassing things that could happen to you.

dealerships. I'm Stacey Cohen, FM 94.9. I think we should repeat that again
Feel my heat. Feel my heat. Yeah. It's definitely cool. It's definitely cool. Feel my heat. From Boogie Nights, John C. Reilly and Mark Wahlberg. How good of an actor do you have to be to be a decent singer and then pretend that you can't sing? I have to do it all the time when I play characters like Eskimo Blue Water. Is that right? Is that right? Oh, my God, man. You've got to pretend that you can't do it. Exactly. It's the best. I want to remind you, by the way, Independence Jam, FM 94.9's Independence Jam, Coastal Invasion 2010, is presented by Miller Lite and Scion, is going to be happening on August 29th. And tickets are $30, and that includes all the fees. And it's going to be at Oceanside Pier. Great bands, Edward Sharp. And the Magnetic Zeros, Rogue Wave, The Wigs, Delta Spirit. That is a cool name for a band. Delta Spirit? Delta Spirit. I don't mean to throw my wife under the bus. Don't you? She had the worst name. I said, babe, if you ever had your own chick band. Right now she's going, oh no. Oh no, don't tell it. I said, if you ever had your own chick band, what would you call them? Velvet Lantern.
That is unbelievable. Velvet lantern? Yeah. Velvet. Or velvet lampshade? No, velvet lantern. There's no such thing. I know there isn't. That's what I said to her. I go, babe, there is. She goes. What would yours be, Mike? Herb house is what. You were really quick on that. Back in the day. Herb house? Herb house? Back in the day. When I used to not smoke herb. Did you grow it? Like a chia pet? I didn't even smoke grass. Herb is what you called it. Herb House. Herb House. That's gorgeous. To me, that was like the coolest name. What kind of band would it be? Badass band. Herb House. Yeah. How about you? I have a great name, but you know, it's great. You don't want to put it out there? You're afraid someone's going to steal it. Give me, have you ever had any names for bands that you considered that...
Yeah, I've been in crappy bands with crappy bands. Wait, what was the one that you've said on the airline? Well, all right, so the bands I've been in in my life was in Gypsy Rose. As he's saying his band names being tough, he's putting on lotion. I'm dry. I wish everyone can hear because it's right in the mic. Oh, my. It's the smelliest lotion. Why not an unscented one? Don't worry about it. Okay, I just am asking. Gypsy Rose was my band back in the day. Maybe an unscented. They booted me out for this choir queen, and so they brought this guy in. Is that your friend? No, his name is Phil Allen. He wasn't even friends with our group, but they're like, that guy's got pipes. He's in the choir. How did they fire you? My buddy Fenwick, whose wedding I was in a couple weeks ago, called me. He was just in here. Yeah, he goes, hey, we're actually going to have Phil jam with us. Oh, he did it over the phone? Over the phone. I was, I mean, wrecked. Did you cry? How old were you? How old were you? Tenth grade. Sick to my stomach. Did you see it coming? I didn't see it coming. So you got a phone call one day. Yeah. Kicked out of Gypsy Rose. No longer the lead singer. And he says, and Fenwick goes, hey, we're going to put this queen in the band. Yeah, Phil Allen. Did he say, did you know Phil? Yeah, I knew Phil. You're still irritated. So he goes, hey, did he call you Woods or Steve? Yeah, Woodsy. Woodsy, we're going to, sorry, dude. We're going to go with Phil. We're going to go with Phil. I go, Phil who? He goes, Phil Allen. I go.
Really? Okay. And I was dying inside. And did you get mad and hung up the phone and did your thing? Yeah, I was really upset. I wasn't in a band until way after that. It really broke my heart. But then when they got Phil in the band, you know what they changed their name to? Did they vote? I don't know what they did behind closed doors. I wasn't privy to any of that information. You never asked Phil? Not Phil. Fenwick? Do you and Fenwick talk about it ever? Oh, yeah. You talk about it. Oh, dude, to this day. You'll still discuss it. Did you bring it up in your best man speech? I didn't do, I wasn't best man, but I was a groomsman. Oh, a groomsman. Oh, I was. Was Phil the best man? No, one of my bits I was going to do at the wedding was, hey, isn't this funny? He kicked me out of his band 15 years ago. Now he asked me to play his wedding. Shut up. How come you didn't have Phil sing? Yeah, where's Phil Allen? Yeah. So then they booted me out and then they changed their name. What would you have done if he would have, as a practical joke, called you when you were a groomsman and gone? Hey, dude, I'm sorry, but I'm going to have Phil be one of the drums. I lost my mind. Well, then they changed their name to the Uber Gay Acid Rain. That's what they changed. That was the full title? Uber Gay Acid Rain. Acid Rain. Really? Acid Rain. It was awful. I don't get the band title. All of them sound dumb to me. Well, then I was in a band in Dallas. It was a little two-man acoustic, and I didn't know what we were going to be called. And we had, like, gigs and stuff that we got paid for. So we just called ourselves the 22s. It was my lucky number.
22. That's not bad, is it? Thank you, Mike. Thank you, Mike. I always thought, like, now playing would be a good one. You'd see it on the marquee. Now playing? Now playing? Just now playing. How about coming soon? Yeah, there you go. M1 Hedge, are you there? Yeah. Do you have a good band name or a bad band name? I got two. They're pretty good. All right. We'll be the judge of that. Chemical Toilet. What? Oh, my God. Violet lantern. Toilet? Chemical toilet. Chemical toilet. And the pecan sandies. I like that one. The toucan sandies? Pecan. They're cookies. You know that. It's a cookie, but it's got another meaning. It's like a sexual meaning. Pecan sandies? Mm-hmm. You've never had them? They're delicious. I've never heard of that as a sexual meaning either. Me neither. Maybe email me what that means. Okay, weird. Maybe send a picture. Thank you. The Pecan Sandies. Maybe send it back. I can't even think of what it might be. I have an idea of what it might be. Of course you do, you dirty bird. I have a good one that I actually would want to form a band and call ourselves The Darlings. You gave it away. It's okay.
But, like, that's cool? Yeah, that's cool. I think it is. The Darlings? That's badass. How would it sound if they were in the Independence Jam lineup? Mikey, yeah. Independence Jam, by the way, is August 29th. It's going on at the Oceanside Pier Amphitheater. And it's $30, which is cool because no other fees are going to be added onto it. You got Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeros headlining. The Darlings are playing with Rogue Wave. The Wings dealt the spirit. Sounds good. Sounds like a band. How about Steve Woods and The Darlings? Good luck, bro, because that name's gone. Why is The Darlings badass, but Acid Rain is so lame? Acid Rain is ridiculous. It's dorky. And The Darlings sounds like something you'd hear on the radio. I would never, ever on the radio go... Yeah, here's the new one from Acid Rain. Well, it would be like, I don't get it. They all sound dumb. No. I like the Darlings. Darlings is a good name. The Darlings seems like girls. That's kind of the bit. That's why I mean, why is that badass? It's because it's badass. It just kind of has that sound. The Darlings, it's got a ring. It has a ring to it. You know what it sounds like? It sounds like there would be a, they sound like a classic.
punk band from the 70s. And from New York. Like a New York punk band. Yeah, it's like you would be watching VH1 and it would be like, now, Behind the Music Continues. It started at BC... What was the name of that? CBGB. Yeah, it started at CBGB's with the Darlings opening up for Blondie. And the Ramones. Yeah, the Darlings, the Ramones, and Blondie. The reason I did it is because... There's all these bands that come out, and they call them the Indie Darlings. Like, oh, this is the new Indie Darling of the year. Like, the Dandy Warhols and bands like that have always been the new Indie Darlings. So I was just going to shorten it to the Darlings. Well, here I am criticizing Acid Rain. Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeros is somehow like, what's the difference? You know what I mean? Well, you've never been okay with that name. You always call it Edward Scissorhands. Yeah, I do. But the music's good. M1HB from RB, are you there? Yes, of course I'm here. What's your band name? My friend's band in college, his band name was Your Mom, so he would always say, I'm in Your Mom. I love it. What band are you going to see tonight? Your mom. No, seriously. What band are you going to see tonight? Your mom. What are you, seventh grade? What band? Your mom. Forget it. I don't want to know. Yeah, it's Your Mom. They're good. Thanks, HB. M1 Trash from Carlsbad is on the line.
Hey, how you doing, sir? Good afternoon. Good afternoon. It's morning. Good evening. Good evening. Yeah, I guess my clock is off. Funny band names struck interest. There's a lot of them, and I interviewed some bands in Wisconsin. One was called American Standard, and when you're interviewing, it's always awkward questioning the people because you don't know them, and you're like, well, where did you get your name? Toilet. Dumb question like that. Toilet. And they said, well, American Standard is a good blues name, and it turns out that they got it from the urinal. Yeah. Yeah. Toilet. Yep, that was the name of an album, too. And that was where they got it, from the urinal. American Standard. There's also a thing on the internet that's a band name generator, and it'll combine like three or four words together. And like the girls are saying, most band names are pretty stupid. I think that's why a lot of bands make jokes out of them. But the band name generator thing comes up with some pretty cool combinations. Mm-hmm. Thank you, man. I appreciate the call. Here's some of the other bands that are playing. Because the Casbah, Local 94, and what the... There's a Casbah stage and a 94.9 stage that's like local bands. Here's some. The Silent Comedy, cool. They're an awesome band, too. It's a cool name. It's a cool name. They're cool. If you watch them, they just look like the Silent Comedy. The Nervous Records, which is great because it's spelled with a W, so it's different. The Burning of Rome is cool. And White Apple Tree. By the way, Stone Temple Pilots.
They were asked, why the Stone Temple Pilots? I know why. I wonder if we have different answers. Mine, what I heard is because they really like the STP oil logo. At first they were going to call it something dirty. Shirley Temple something. And they didn't because they couldn't. Yeah, that's what they were going to call it. And then so they went with Stone Temple Pilots. I also heard that Weiland really liked three names. He wanted three words, I mean. Yeah, he liked the three-name thing. He liked three words in a band name. Yeah, I like it, too. It is. It's pretty cool. And I like a visual, like Burning of Rome. I picture, like, Rome burning the white apple tree. It's like you can, I don't know, you just picture things. M1, Abel from Hillcrest. Are you there? How are you guys doing? Good. What band name for? You know, two different types of bands. All right. I got my rock band called Sheer Force. See, that one, to me, I was like, oh, that one's cool. I don't like the whole band thing. I never will. It's too blatant. See, that's the thing. I don't get it. See, that's the deal with acid rain. If it's too blatantly trying to, it would be like naming a rock band hardcore. Yeah. Black acid. But the burning of Rome sounds mean. The burning of Rome? I'm like, why would you ever burn Rome? You know why the burning of Rome is, you know why I like the burning of Rome? Why? Because it's so...
It's so, it's like, what do they call that? Abstract. Yes. That's why I like it because it's abstract. Anything abstract is always going to be cool as a band name. What's your other one, Abel? It's Baby Toe Knuckle and the Pud Crushers. That's funny. Wow. Now that's good. Baby Toe Knuckle and the Pud Crushers? Now that one's good. Shocking. Yeah. That's a good one. It's so crazy. What's a Pud Crusher? I don't know if any of it really makes any sense. I can say that on the radio, but it's a Pud Crusher. Yeah. That's funny. I mean, I don't really know what it is. Oh, it says something bad? Yes! Oh, I didn't know. Pud? Stop! You guys know that? Yeah. I don't know that. I know the dirtiest bird in the room doesn't know. No, I'm not going to say what it is. I think it's what they say in another part of the country. Oh, boy. Pud crushers. 570. I just want to keep saying it now that I know it's dirty. 194.9. Write that down. Write that down. For sure write that down. Man, that is Lauren's personality. Creeper. In one little tiny capsule. Yeah, perverted creeper. It's dirty. Bud crushers. M1 Rapture from Ramona. Morning, Mikey. Love you guys. Thank you, bro. Hey, I got two names for you. Okay. I got stainless steel chihuahuas.
Oh, sore subject with Sienna right now. I love you, Munchess. I love Munchess, too. I got Izzy Fivehead and the Little Black Raincloud. Izzy what? Izzy Fivehead and the Little Black Raincloud. You guys happy with yourselves? I like the five head. That's like what Tyra Banks says she has. Really big forehead. You used to have a four head, and now you have a five head. Yeah, why don't you just have woods to start reading words out of the dictionary? Just keep your eyes on your own paper. That's a good bit. Wow. Now, why don't we take more calls on it, Mikey? Why don't you just take 18 more calls on weird words? Santa's right. None of them make sense. Thank you, Oil. Let's sit there and talk about why. Hey, why don't you just start reading words that show up in the theater and wherever you walk? Do you know what pen crushing is, Oil? You know he does. He listens at home with his mom. You're a pervert. You just want to be saying stuff, Swiss Miss, and you know it. I just want to be saying a bunch of dirty stuff. Well, who doesn't? Normal people. Mikey doesn't. 5701949 is our number. Most of these are dirty. I'm starting to look at these on the call screen. Most of them are dirty. Does anybody have any good band names? Yeah. Like the Darlings? Really?
You know that name's gone. Oh, I know. Mine's going to be Steve Woods and the Darlings anyway. Well, there's a band in North Park that's already formed called the Darlings. Steve Woods and the Darlings? Yeah. Hey, I want to let people know, too, about our boy Jared, who you can find at createyourdesignonline.com. All of our graphic design is doing my business cards. And he's really, really good. He'll do business cards for you. $150 gives you logo design, business card design, and 1,000 cards. And you can go to his website, createyourdesignonline.com. You can check it out. And it's really high-end stuff. He's really, really good. He does our website, did our billboard, and the whole deal. Jay. Yeah. Thank you. I want to find out what happened. I know. He went to the fair and took his little boy to the restroom. They were walking out. Just take over, Jay. Tell everybody what happened. Actually, I didn't take Jasper with me to the bathroom. We'd been riding the rides, doing wristband day, rode all the rides, ate a little too much fried food. All of a sudden, the call of the wild hit me. And so Kim and Jasper stayed, waited in line. I darted off to the bathroom, filed papers, came back. And Kim, they'd moved pretty far along in line. And so I was kind of feeling guilty because it was just massive lines. So I kind of slowly made my way into the line.
Line creep. Yeah, line creep. So as I slowly get in the line, this girl behind me throws out, hey, mister. And I was like, oh, really? Yes, I'm on the Mikey show. Yes, I'm on the Mikey show. I turn around, she points, and I've got toilet paper hanging out the leg of my shorts. Holy about that. Wait, wait, wait. Is it a girl like? And she said mister. Was it a little girl? It was a little girl. I mean, she was like. Was she? 23. Yeah. Were you in a hurry, dude? Were you in a hurricane? No, I took my time with it. He wanted to catch the ride. Holy cow. I wanted to make sure she didn't get all the way to the front of the line. Maybe make sure that everything falls. Oh, really? I haven't really learned how to do that, apparently. Holy cow. He hasn't mastered the art. Yeah. Only been doing it 47 years. Well, in fairness to Jay, he started wearing Depends. It was hanging out of your shorts. It was hanging out of my shorts. Oh. And I never do this. I did the little thing where you make a little seat on the toilet. Oh, that's what got you. Yeah.
Oh, thank God. I thought it was the other. No, it wasn't still attached. Okay, that's what I thought. Everybody at one time. Everybody thought that. No, I didn't. Yes, they did. No one thought it was a dirty piece. Our audience agrees with me. One person. That's all it takes for woods. That's all I need. Everybody's had to make the makeshift seat cover. Who does that? Who doesn't? I never do, but I did this time because it was awful. It was like an experiment of some sort. I will say this. It has to be some nasty German outhouse in the back. I mean, it's got to be. Why does it have to be a German outhouse, Michael? It has to be. How about Scandinavia? It has to be the worst ever in order for me to make the makeshift. Normally you don't do anything? No. No. Really? Outhouses are very clean in Germany, Michael. Are they? No, guys. I bet guys, by and large. You don't put the paper down? No. I'll pretend to. That is repulsive. I don't think guys. I'll pull one of the things out. I think girls do that. Oh, yeah. I would not ever do it without it. The little toilet condom? You have to have the paper. I'll actually pull one out, crumble it up, and throw it in the thing. What? Just so people think I do it.
You do? Oh, yeah. What? Wait, wait, wait. Woods. Woods, Woods. Jamie's covering your face. Wait, wait, wait. What do you mean? How would people think that you would? There's somebody else in there. They heard the noise, so they think he's clean. Oh, you wanted to hear the noise. I do the... You turn the sink on and walk away, too? What? Yes, he does. Yeah, I've done that for her. What person are you? Filthy one. Oh, my gosh. Bye, Mikey. Really? I didn't know. Yes, you did. I didn't. Why not just... You guys hold hands all day. It's all slippery. I think that people are going to like this. The Mikey Show. It's a good time, you know what I mean? Call 570-1949 or text 949mikey at gmail.com. More of The Mikey Show coming up in minutes.

Back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. He's in a piece of broccoli in like eight years. Lauren. I accidentally had a piece of beef yesterday. Woods. The best movie ever made, Footloose. Sienna. Todd and I went downtown Loyola to Prospect. And Jay. I can make 100 hush puppies in like 30 seconds on FM 94.9. No idea what's going on with John C. Reilly and Jonah Hill. I'm so bummed. Yeah. Because I really wanted to talk to John C. Reilly. I don't really know much about Jonah. I know he's funny. I know he's funny. I just don't know much about him. Man, do I love me some John C. Reilly. Me too. So we're waiting. New movies that are coming out today, Sienna? Well, The Weird Weekend. This weekend's weird because it's a long weekend, so the movies came out earlier. What came out yesterday was The Last Airbender. Woodsy, do you remember the last time you went to a movie? Yeah, Crazy Heart. Oh.
I have not been to it. The last time I was with you guys. Jamie came into town to visit and she's like, you're going to love this movie. I was like, we'd worked all day and been to the zoo. Yeah. Best movie I ever made. I haven't been to the movie since we used to go as a show. When Sienna used to nap. That's right. I did. Sienna's nap time. That's right. Still has my nap time. And the biggest movie of all time, The Twilight Saga Eclipse. which came out on Wednesday. Pretty big movie. So those are the big ones this weekend, The Last Airbender and Eclipse. Must miss. You're going to go see Eclipse. You know that. I'm going to rent it. You're going to rent Eclipse? I'm going to rent it on a Sunday with my wife. Sweetly. You think maybe it's possible that you'll go to the movie theater? He's going to rent a seat at the movie theater to watch the movie. I won't see it in the theater, I promise you. I'm going to see Airbender in 3D. You didn't have to pipe on me on that to make sure that I knew that that was very guyish. It was almost like, listen, I won't, you know, I'm not going to see it in the theater. I won't see it in the theater. I'll just rent it. It's not bad to go with your wife to see it in the theater. What's bad is watching New Moon alone on a day when I invited you to the beach and you decided to stay home and watch that by yourself. That's bad. And eat bonbons. Yeah, Mikey actually invited me somewhere that day too. I was like, sorry, I got plans.
New Moon. Sounds like good plans to me. In the dark on a Saturday during the day. Under the covers. I've had a photograph of that. Under the covers, sweetly, watching a movie. Watching New Moon chewing snow. Yeah, dipping snow. So this is pretty funny. Sienna said in her recap that yesterday she had a very interesting phone conversation with one of her girlfriends. She's getting her friend was getting ice cream at Baskin Robbins. And during the conversation, Sienna heard a very panicked voice from her friend. And her friend said, I need to call you right back. She called back five minutes later and let her know that while she was while this girl was there at the Baskin Robbins getting ice cream by herself. Which, if you're a girl, now listen, guy-girl... There's nothing wrong with that. There's nothing wrong with it, but guy-world and girl-world is different. Yes. If a guy is in an ice cream place by himself getting an ice cream, who cares? No big deal. If a girl's doing it, A, she's lonely, and she looks desperate and lonely by herself. She's on her cycle. Yeah, and she looks like a chubby girl, regardless of who she is. Chugs, how many flavors? We got 31. Guys are not like that, though. Guys could do it anyway.
So she's already in a compromised position. She's the lone. Which is, she even told me on the phone, keep talking to me. I'm by myself in basketball. I'm like, okay. Hi, can I please have the better shots? She felt better knowing that she had a friend on the other line, you know? Well, so anyway, so she's in there. She's feeling bad, blah, blah, blah. And in walks her ex-boyfriend with his new girlfriend. No way. My gosh. Oh, my gosh. Welcome to the Hoya. I was really. nervous because she's like, oh my gosh, I gotta call you right back. And I'm like, what would go wrong in best of Robin? Did they give you the wrong flavor? Obese Mikey was trying to rob it. Give me all this ice cream. And they're like, don't you want the money? Sir, here's our money. Give me the ice cream. So I'm sitting there. I'm like, what in the world? What just happened? Oh my gosh, what happened? What happened? Is she okay? Finally, she calls back. She's like, Sienna. A fat guy just ran in here and robbed all of you. And I was like, are you okay? I think he's your boss. She's like, you are not. I think he's your boss. She's like, you are not going to believe what just happened to me. And I was like, what? She tells me. They broke up like over a year ago. She's over him and stuff, but still. Let me explain. Is there a worse time? Guy world and girl world, how different it is for a girl. If a guy walked in with his new girlfriend, saw his ex by herself.
I don't think as a guy, I wouldn't be like, oh, look at chubby girl here getting, you know, look at you, fatty. A guy would never think that, but that's a girl's world in her mind. She's like pathetic. She's by herself. She's getting ice cream. She's like a really cute girl and has no fat on her body. She just feels that way because that's what a girl feels like. My heart hurts for her. Would you? If you were with your new girlfriend, you walked in and it was your ex by herself, would you think something weird of her? I'd be self-conscious about me. Yeah, and the girl I was with. And the new girl. And I'd be like, oh, man, I hope this girl's good looking. Because I know she'd get the... Right, right. Hoping for a cat fight. Okay, but there's no worse place than to be by yourself eating an ice cream and see your ex-boyfriend. If you're the new girlfriend and you walk in and you know that's the ex, are you like... Yeah, for sure. And let me just say, someone that just went through a breakup, if that happened to me, I wouldn't even wait to get to the car to cry. I would cry right there. Really? Yeah. So your ex walks in with another girl, the Baskin-Robbins, and you're there getting a wheat-flavored ice cream, and he's like, oh.
Look who's here. How you doing? How you doing, Lauren? Oh, my gosh. No, he gives you the awkward. Oh, hi. Oh, my gosh. Have you met? Do you hug? I might cry right now. Have you met Kim? Have you met Kim? This is Kim. This is Kim. Like, do you hug? Are you overstepping boundaries? No, you know, I'd be like, can you put that to go? Because she's not feeling well. And I got to bring this for someone. I was getting it for orphans. Yeah. Can you just. Oh, my gosh. It would be horrible. It would take everything in my past. hour to not cry right there on the spot. There's no, I mean, there's no good place to run into an ex, you know, but boy, that is bad. Here's the deal. For the girl, there's a whole, oh my goodness, a ice cream place, guy and girl, very cute and romantic. It's very cute and romantic. For the guy coming in with the girl, it's totally different. The guy doesn't feel that way about it. He's going to get ice cream. What's the big deal? It's not a big deal. I had a situation one time when I was in college. I worked at the off-campus bookstore. Yeah. I was a junior when that happened. Yeah. My freshman year, I had a little run-in with an older guy. What does that mean? Yeah, you guys got in a car accident? No. A little fender bender? No, I saw what the inside of his dorm room looked like. Oh, a little...
pantsless dance. No, no pantsless. No, no, no. Weird, weird, weird. Just what you do when you're like 18, 19, whatever. It's my God, okay. Yeah, exactly. Right. So, like, then I saw him on campus and instead of being, like, cool and mature about it, he would have his, like, entire fraternity sing You Lost That Love and Feeling to me in the dining hall. Like, made it really awkward and we avoided each other for two years after that. I'm working in the bookstore and he walks in. I'm working there and he is picking up this little lavalier pin, which at our school and that fraternity meant that was the pin that you give to the girl that you're going to ask to marry you. So I had to be like, okay, last name. No idea. No idea what his last name was. It's the worst. You had to wait on him? Yeah, I had to wait on him. Didn't know what his last name was, which was horrible. Were you guys both pretending you didn't know one another? For two years on campus, we would look the other way. So when he did this, it wasn't like since you were face-to-face, you might as well go, hey, how are you doing? We did. How you been? No, we did. Both of our faces were like crimson. It was horrible. And you didn't do the how have you been? No. I'm like, hey, last name?
Oh, my God. You know her. She's not going to give an inch. You think he for sure remembered, too? Oh, we were both bright. I mean, we saw each other on campus, and we would be like the, look the other way, just pretend. Awful. That's awkward. Worse, worse, worse. That is awkward. Call us if you have stories of the most awkward run-in. Man, at my 10-year reunion, I'm married. I have kids. Sitting there at the table with some friends. My ex-girlfriend comes up, and she says, Oh, I guess you're still a worm. What? Oh, my God. Hey, how are you? Good to see you. In front of your wife? In front of my wife. Oh, my God. She broke up with me. What a weird, weird thing to say. What did you say? I said, oh, it's good to see you as well. Oh, my gosh. That's pretty awkward. Yeah, you packed on a few pounds since high school, haven't you? Yeah. You must have done a number on her, Jay. She broke up with you, Jay? Well, it's a long story, but she went off to like. Christian College, and then they decide, well, it's a long story, but I can't really mention it on the air. Let's just say she regretted some of her decisions she made before she left. Wow. You should have said, oh, you're still a B-word. He's like, yeah, I shot her brother. That's weird. 570-1949. Call us and tell us yours. Let your voice be heard on The Mikey Show now. And if you want to find out how you can be involved in that, it's called The Morning After Mess. And you go to SurfriderSD.org.
More trash on the 4th of July than any other day of the year produced at the beaches. There's a lot of it. So if you want to be a part of picking it all up and helping out with it, it's pretty cool. You just go to SurfriderSD.org and you can find out more about it. It's really good. Very cool. Nice thing to do. Don't know what happened with John C. Reilly and Jonah Hill. That's a bummer. I want to talk to him. Maybe we could reschedule it. But, man, I want to talk to him so bad. M1 Darcy on the I-5, are you there? Yeah. What happened to you? Interaction. When I was going to theater school, this guy and I had a terrible breakup, and we were in this show together. And he had a larger role than I did, and I had to help him with a quick change. So right after this huge dance number, he comes off stage, and I have to unzip his pants. Pull them off of him. No way. Oh my gosh. Male dancers, they don't need to wear tights or anything, so it's just you and the dance belt. It's your ex. And then put on a new pair of pants and dip them up and make sure he's good to go and then send him back on stage. Did you guys break up because he was a gay dancer? No, actually.
I would hate some girl, like, taking off my boyfriend's pants. Yeah. Like, is that really necessary? Yeah, and he'd come home, he's like... Honey, it's just work. It's not a big deal. I feel like, how about you take up your own pants, guy? I can't. I only have a couple of seconds. I've got to get a quick change in after my last dance number. I could never date an actor, anyone like that. It's a quick dance number. Oh, no way. Shut up. How about you go in the bathroom and change? Where's your eyelash curler? You're always just like breaking my balls all the time. I'm tired of it. Sienna, you can say to him, if you keep being like this, I'm not going to let you borrow my mascara. I'm not going to let you borrow my mascara. I have my own. I just don't know where the hell it is. Yours is L'Oreal and mine is Estee Lauder. That's right. I don't want you using my Estee anymore. It's the good stuff and I don't want to get confused. Shut up and take my pants off. Don't worry. Nothing's going to happen. Trust me.
I don't think it will. Are you jealous again that she's taking my pants off? It's such a weak bit. Could you imagine? That would be awful. There's only one time you get to be in the production of Hairspray, okay? So shut up. This is work. My God. Why can't you just be so poor? Don't cry. I hate my dream. Fine, you can use my blush, too. Thank you. Just don't cry again. You know, I get my BigBerry. And you just, every time, like, this is the biggest thing in the world to me. And you just start acting like this. You have to give me a hard time every night. Here's some glitter. Five, seven. I'm just breaking. I've just met, you know, those who can't do mock. So there you go. I can't act or sleep. I can't act or dance. No. So. Obviously, we got to make fun of it. 570-1949. That's what I do. M1 Baby Shaker is on the line. What are you doing? It kind of tripped me out because I thought y'all was talking about a totally different morning after mess. No. No. Yeah, I was calling because my ex, man, I had a crazy encounter. I went to this reggae fest and I met up with this girl and, man, she was hot.
And we hung out the whole thing. I know. Thank you. Yeah, you wasn't supposed to say nothing. Yeah, and then she was like, oh, can you give me a ride to the house and everything? I'm like, yeah. And I'm driving her to the house. And I'm like, wait a minute. This looks a little familiar. Come to find out, it was my ex-girlfriend's cousin that was in town. Needless to say, I still, you know. Sealed the deal. Interacted a little bit. Made it right. You still interacted a little bit. Why is Ellie bright red right now? Am I? Aren't you? correct way to say it. We interact. I got what you meant. I got what you meant. And I checked the website. I was trying to get the invite up there, man, but I didn't see it. You got to go to M1 Backstage Pass. Do you? Oh. M1 Backstage Pass. M1 Backstage Pass. Okay, okay. Well, Lauren, I get off at four today, okay? That's so great.
The time you guys meet. It's Lauren O'Brien on Facebook. Please make sure whenever you guys do meet that I'm present to watch the awkwardness. Look at her. Look at her. Look at her. You got to write him to get the link. Yeah. Then you'll get the link. You'll get the link. From me. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'll send you the link. Okay. All right. I want to know what size Link lawn wear. All right. Thank you. What size of what? What size Link? I don't understand what that means. I don't either, but Link. Like a necklace maybe? Yes. Yeah, see, there you go. See, yeah, I'm talking necklace or earring or something. Thank you, baby shaker. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. Lauren O'Brien. What? Lauren. What? Oh, my gosh. Look at Woods. Like, you just scared Woods. Do you know what kind of pervert you have to be to scare Woods? It's Woods. My goodness. I'm just saying, for example. M1. She said that. M1 Billy from RBI. Are you there? Yes. Go ahead. Yeah, I just wanted to wish my wife, Jessica, a happy birthday. I was wondering if you guys could sing to her. Yes, we can. We will do a.
We will do a high-pitched, yeah, falsetto Friday. That would be awesome. Her name is what? Jessica. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Thank you. You guys are awesome. That was very nice. It's M1 Veronica's birthday today, too. Happy birthday. Very nice. She made us some delicious s'mores cupcakes the other day. Happy birthday, Veronica. That's very nice. Feliz cumpleaños. Your brother, right? My little brother is a little dirty today. And Tabitha. And Tabitha. Happy birthday to Tabitha. How old are you today? 11 years old, Tabitha is today. Very cool. It is Friday. We've got a long weekend. And let me tell you something, man. One of the coolest things about being able to give you my testimony on a day like today is knowing that I'm going into a 4th of July weekend and it isn't going to be like so many 4th of Julys that I've had in my life. And maybe you can relate to this and maybe you can't. The reason that I give you my testimony.
is because I want to let you know that if you're listening right now, you're going into a 4th of July weekend and maybe I'm talking directly to you. One of the things that I do on Friday mornings is I pray that I'm speaking directly to somebody who is hearing my testimony and it's specific to them because they can relate to it. I remember so many 4th of July weekends where I was so lonely and so sad. I didn't have anybody. I just felt lonely and sad. I've spent so much of my life in that feeling of loneliness and sadness. I remember that all through my life, I would always have to have something that I could look forward to. And what I didn't realize was that what I was really looking for was hope. What I really wanted was hope. When I was in my early 30s, I'm 40 now. When I was in my early 30s, I was completely addicted to alcohol. But in my life,
I've been addicted to almost everything. I can be addicted to anything. I have a very addictive personality. And at one time or another, I've been addicted to everything. When I was 33, I finally made the decision that I was going to turn my life over to God. And I let him take the steering wheel to my life. It's the best thing that I've ever done. If I hadn't done that, I wouldn't be here today. I said yesterday on the radio that Really, I should be in prison or I should be dead. But my story is that God changed my life. He changed my life. If there's anybody listening and you are in need of hope, I tell you my story so that you can maybe do the same thing. If you go to MikeyShow.com, M-I-K-E-Y-S-H-O-W.com, there's a link at the top of the website that says help. And if you click on that link,
It'll take you to all kinds of different places that'll help you with the different things that I've talked to you about. So I invite you to check that out. Jesus doesn't have a website. So I'm going to give you two websites today. One is for people that are listening in North County. And maybe as I've mentioned that, as I've mentioned North County or as I've mentioned, say that and you go, that's me. I used to go to a church called the Rock Church. And they have a new venue in North County. You can go to The Rock, northcounty.org. Find out about it. It's in Carlsbad. And I'll give you my church, northcoastchurch.com. Why do I tell you my story? I tell you my story because I know that there's a lot of people that are listening right now at this very moment that are in pain and that feel desperate and that feel like they have no hope. And I want you to know that I'm an example of somebody that didn't have any hope in my life. None. Zero.
I felt so awful about myself every single day. And when I gave the reins of my life over to God, everything changed. That's why I tell you. That's why I give you the story. I play a song at the end of the show on Friday that I want you to listen to the lyrics to because the song is so hopeful. It's by a band called Third Day and it's called Tunnel. Have a great Fourth of July holiday and please be safe, lovely and talented. Hillary is up next. We'll see you again on Tuesday. We have Monday off for the holiday. The Mikey Show is out late. Mikey in the morning. About the music all day and night. FM 94.9 is about the music.
