Woodsy’s folks are in studio and Mikey apologizes for the crappy weather. Meanwhile, the east coast is hot and miserable. LOB got kicked out of the hot springs by the cops along with her friends and a naked guy during her hippyfest weekend! Everyone can get behind “Behind the Music” even if it’s J-Lo and P Diddy. Woods breaks down the red hot Padres, the all star snubs, and Brock Lesnar’s amazing win. Former hot dog eating champ goes postal at an eating event he wasn’t even participating in and Mike plays the hilarious audio of him getting arrested. NL save leader Heath Bell calls in and talks about the Padres awesome season so far. When is it ok for a parent to discourage their kid from doing something brings out Sarah Palin. Listen to find out what happened the last time Mikey played catch. Sienna recaps her big neighborhood 4th of July party- La Jolla style. Jay witnessed cooler raids by thirsty cops at the beach. NTT has Woods wish there was at least one non-gay song in the mix. Bill Clinton says it’s ok for democrats to join the KKK, just not republicans. The Kid has new spittoon and his mom tells what it’s like having a ladies man for a son. WoW tries to help a lonely gym rat who lives at home and creepy “BFFs”, which gets Frankie to chime in. Need a pick up line? The Kid has loads of ‘em, real good. Jay’s sad story about putting down the family dog leads to talk about pet insurance and Sienna’s yarn and fish hook story. Mikey’s latest issue with Miley Cyrus turns into a double standard debate. Papa Woods (M1 Hawk) does a perfect version of his very own WoS! Bark Maumann was thrown in jail on his birthday. LOB tells her funny drunken search for a pickle story. Chicks Sound F/X gets everybody giggling. Pop-question hot shot: you wake up to find a strange nude dude asleep on your couch, what do you do? Poor sweet Sienna, she tried to convince a girl at the mall into admitting she was Blake Lively! Greatest Sienna line from that story is she “blubbed around the mall”! A week has yet to go by where we don’t hear another crazy Jay story, I won’t give it away but it involves a naked Jay, a stranger’s house, and a ham sandwich! How did Lindsay Lohan ruin Lauren’s Kombucha? Get ready, The Kid is soon to start his intense P90X workout. Perfectville bodied LOB thinks she’s fat and out of shape, yeah right, and I’m Phillip Rivers. Paris Hilton went to the World Cup with a spliff. Do-it-yourself home repairs list has Sienna and Lauren say they love caulk!

Lauren's illegal Ojai hot-spring trip, Bark Malman's thunderous parental scolding, a double refrigerator-shelf collapse, and Sienna's refusal to believe a stranger was not Blake Lively supplied the biggest personal disasters. In sports, Takeru Kobayashi was arrested after trying to reach the Nathan's stage, while Heath Bell joined the show to challenge his All-Star snub and explain the Padres' unselfish chemistry. Mikey and the group also argued over Bill Clinton's explanation of Robert Byrd's Klan past and whether criticism of Miley Cyrus reflected a gender double standard. Other standout oddities involved a yarn-wrapped fishhook saving a dog, a hair trap exposing a thieving girlfriend, and jam allegedly made with Princess Diana's hair.
What happened, in order
Hot-spring trespass
Lauren described sneaking into a private Ojai hot spring, meeting the lone naked man there, and being politely evicted when police arrived.
Let Kobayashi eat
After Joey Chestnut won Nathan's contest with 54 hot dogs, barred former champion Takeru Kobayashi climbed onto the stage amid chants and was arrested while resisting officers.
Heath Bell's snub
Padres closer Heath Bell called his All-Star omission mind-boggling, credited the team's success to confidence and unselfish chemistry, and said another hitter would help without being essential.
The eulogy defense
Mikey argued that Bill Clinton weakened his praise of Robert Byrd's later repentance by explaining Byrd's Ku Klux Klan membership as an attempt to win votes.
Yarn saves the dog
Lauren said a veterinarian avoided a costly operation by advising her neighbor to feed his dog yarn, which wrapped an ingested fishhook so it passed safely.
Miley's double standard
The hosts split over Miley Cyrus's claim that she was criticized for a sexualized image while young male stars such as Zac Efron and Taylor Lautner could show skin without being shamed.
An epic lesson
Bark Malman's calm account of handling his own release after a birthday-night arrest ended when his German father suddenly roared that he hoped Bark had learned an epic lesson.
Condiment avalanche
Lauren came home drunk at 3 a.m., lied that it was midnight, and twice collapsed her mother's freshly cleaned refrigerator shelves while trying to get a pickle and erase a barbecue-sauce smudge.
Not Blake Lively
Sienna repeatedly pressed a teenager at Fashion Valley for Blake Lively's autograph until the girl's mother arrived and confirmed the mortifying case of mistaken identity.
The hair trap
Lauren's waiter friend proved his girlfriend was stealing his cash by laying a hair across his wallet before showering and finding both the hair and money gone afterward.
Princess Diana jam
The show recoiled at a London art project that dissolved a purported strand of Princess Diana's hair in gin and mixed it with milk and sugar to make sellable preserves.

KBZT San Diego. The Lincoln Financial Media Station. The new home of The Mikey Show. FM 94.9. Tuesday, huh? Yeah. Means garbage should be delayed a day. That's what you gotta know. Oh, that's right. Garbage delayed a day when you have the observation. That's what they call yesterday. We're observing the 4th of July. Just observe it a day later. Not mad at that. Yeah. It's pretty nice, right? For those of you that are visiting San Diego, welcome to Bangor, Maine. It's like a Stephen King movie. It really is. It is. Except colder and rainier. Well, here's the thing. Well, first of all, I want to welcome Steve Wood's parents who are in the studio with us today. They're in the studio with us.
I feel responsible. Like, I want to apologize to them about this weather. I know. And I've seen them twice, and each time I go, hey, I'm really sorry. You know, and they say they love it, but it's just... It's 105 at home. Dude. Yeah, I'd say it's probably better than a heat wave and 100% humidity, but it's still ridiculous. It's not what we're used to. It's not 75 and sunny. Yeah, it's not. It's July gloom. Oh. Great. It's July gloom. So there are five people on the Mikey Show. And call us, M1s. M1 Nation is Mikey Show listeners. And you call in. You get to the point. You don't cuss. You turn down your radio. That's what makes you an M1. And you know those rules. So call us up right now. Say hello. You can talk about your weekend. You can ask questions about ours. You can talk about anything because it's basically an open forum. You can text us, 949mikey at gmail.com is how you text us. You just type that into your phone text and it'll work. So, yeah, lots of things to tell you about the 4th of July weekend. Later on in Woods on Sports, Woods is going to be telling you about the Kobayashi fiasco. That's what I'll tell you it was. Kobayashi, of course, former.
World eating champion. You know the Nathan's deal they do every year where they eat the hot dogs and dip it in the water. They chomp them down. And one of the smallest men alive. I don't understand. So we'll tell you about his fiasco. We're going to be talking about what's going on on the East Coast. We're going to talk about, Woodsy will also tell you about what happened in the UFC over the weekend. Lots of stuff to talk about. And so get in here. Start calling. 570. 194.9 is the number. Let's line you up and get you ready to go. So, 4th of July aftermath, Sienna. You want to hear about the shenanigans? Sure. Okay, well. This is starting from Friday. There were 60 people arrested for DUI starting Friday night, which is actually down from last year. They had 77 people arrested during the same time last year. 912 arrests statewide. Two people were killed on the roads in San Diego this weekend. Now, that's the downer. That's the downer. OK, but are these numbers down or are they? They're all down. That's good. Yeah, everything is, you know, everything is good news. Yeah.
But the trash, the amount of trash, obviously, on the beaches, the beaches were not as packed as I'm sure they have been years before because the weather is freezing. I wonder why. Why? Because polar bears were scaring people off. They're going to get bitten by polar bears. There has been a dramatic decrease in trash. When people went, the volunteer workers are there the next day to clean up, and they were like, oh, this is pretty easy. I'll be home in a half hour. I hit an iceberg. Yeah. On my surfboard the other day. Yeah, it was great. Broke my board right in half. Right in half. And you know what, though? People will always find a way to drink in public areas outside if they can't go to the beach. Because have you ever been to the park, Kate Sessions? Oh, yeah. It's North PB. Hundreds of people at Kate Sessions Park. There were arrests. I believe there were 12 people handcuffed. See, where the garbage was is everywhere you can light campfires, because that's what everyone wanted to do. Yeah, there were 12 people handcuffed and taken away. Hundreds of people packed that beach. How many hot chocolate burns were there? Oh, my God. Cider burns. A lot, a lot. Hot cider scaldings. Chowder accidents. Chowder accidents. Santa Claus sightings. That's awful. I know. I hate this weather. By 10 a.m., though, on the 4th, all of the beach parking lots filled. Really? Up and down the coast. Filled. People still went to the beach, but I don't think they stayed for long. Yeah.
You know, it was the first year I haven't gone. Yeah, well, it's good news. I mean, garbage down, arrests down, deaths on the road down. That's all good stuff. But we all know the deal. You live in San Diego. This is the time of year where we have a lot of tourists. And this is the time of year where that stuff is going on. We call it the least wonderful time of the year. It just is. It's the least wonderful time of the year. With the cars and the Zonies and everyone crowding our beaches with beer. It's the least wonderful time of the year. It's like a Broadway play. Oh, it's a musical. Oh, big build up. Oh, here comes the finale. It's the least wonderful time of the year. I feel like I'm like, it's a small world. It is.
We will all feel like sardines when all of the mom jeans are crowding our peers. It's the least wonderful time. Sing it out. It's the least wonderful time. Come on now. That's good. Yes. It's the least wonderful time. Oh. Oh. It's really beautiful. I have to say, I was headed north. I headed north this weekend. No. Gridlock traffic for hunt. At least 100 miles. Oh, my gosh. Coming into San Diego when I left and going out of San Diego when I came back. There's so many people here. That's insane. People were really hoping that, oh, you know, it might be cloudy where I am, but San Diego is always beautiful. Not. Maybe not. Hey, Heath Bell is going to be on the show at 630. San Diego Padres pitcher, closer, Heath Bell. He's a man.
He's good. Yes. He's the best in baseball right now. So good. He's the most saves of anybody. Does he really? Yeah. That's great. Guess where he's not going. Don't. No, no, no. That cannot be true. Guess where he's not going next week. Are you kidding? Yeah. I'm not kidding. He did not get voted into the All-Star. Sure didn't. No, no, no. No. No. Is there anything? I'll tell you all about it. I was livid, livid all weekend. I'm sure he is, too. That's irritating. That's irritating. I was. I was furious. When they made the selections, my dad and I were watching them. I was like, no Latos, no Heath Bell, no Luke Gregerson. I made the call last week that you'd see four Padres on the All-Star Game. I thought you were right. You know how many are there? How many? One. Adrian Cantalas is it? Adrian. That's it. Oh. Shocking. What is that? Irritating. Irritating. Garbage. Garbage. That's where all the garbage went. Junk. Yeah. Dumb. Philly's manager. Lauren. Charlie Manuel. I don't even know what you're talking about. Idiots. So as cold as it is here, there's a bunch of heat on the East Coast. Have you heard about this? Only that it's kind of dangerous now. If you know anyone that lives in New York, Philly. Philly. A family. Up and down the East Coast. I mean, it is crazy. They're saying today's going to be the worst in certain areas like New York and Philly.
This is what the weather officials are saying. Today's triple digit temperatures could trigger, quote, a dangerous situation. There's a number you can call 311 for cooling centers to get information on how to stay cool. Yeah, people are freaking out. So if you live in Maryland and it gets really hot, you dial 311 and you're like. Maybe if you don't have any AC or if your AC broke or something, it's imperative that you stay cool. I know. Just imagine that, though. I'm so hot. I'm so hot. What do you do in the cooling center? You sit. There's air conditioning. It works. It's called beat the heat. What did they tell you? Put some ice on it. Go to the mall. Huh? They probably are like, go to the mall. Go to the movie theater. Go to the movie. Thank you so much. I remember when I moved to Chicago. For college, the first summer I was there, like 50 people died. From the heat. Yeah. Yeah. Well, it's too bad they didn't have 311. I know. Heat to heat. Today's supposed to be the hottest day, so 311 is going to be blowing up. Yeah. I talked to my mom this morning. She said, oh, it's supposed to be 106 here today. Oh. In New Jersey? Uh-huh. Get it.
Out of here. 106. 106 in New Jersey. Yeah. When you were growing up there, what was the hottest it would get? It would get that hot. Every year? Not every year, but you'd have those heat advisory warnings of, if you know, like the babies and elderly, try to keep them indoors, keep an eye on them, give them a call, make sure they're okay. Is it humid? Yeah. Gross, gross. I used to play double headers in Texas. It'd be 110 outside and with 80% humidity, double header. That's so filthy. 14 innings of baseball. I hear that Dallas and Houston bring new meaning to the word hot. It's unbelievable. We have a listener calling in from Pennsylvania right now. Philly. Yeah, Philly. Where it's 12 minutes after 9 a.m. Who is this? What's your name? Scott Mitchell. M1 Scott. Hi, Scotty. That's Todd's friend. Is it really? Listen to us online. That's your husband's friend. So, Scott, it's 9 a.m. What's the temperature out there? First of all, what part of Pennsylvania are you in? We're in Central. I live in Williamsport. We're in the Little League. What's the temperature there right now? Do you know?
It's like 85 right now. At 9 in the morning. It's supposed to be 97 today. Gross. Did you guys go outside and watch the fireworks and stuff, or was it too hot? No, actually, by the time fireworks was, it was good, but it was hot most of the day. Did you guys go sit by the statue of Todd the God at the baseball field? That's what they call it. That's what they call Sienna's husband. He knows. I've been with Todd so 20-some years. I mean, part of his fan base. Yeah, yeah. I thought I was with Todd, Scotty. Just picking up his scraps real good back in the day, huh? He's not bad. Scotty's the man. Thank you, Scott. Hey, thank you guys. Hey, man. Hey, dude, grab a mocha. Come on out here. It's wonderful out here. Grab your vampire cloak. Come out there in October. Yeah, we'll see you then. We'll see you later. Yeah, I texted Woods that Edward Cullen called and said that this town is depressing. Too cold. He's going back to Forks. It's so sad here. Was it like that all weekend? It's horrible. You were up in Ojai. It was really nice.
It was nice during like a very small window of the day. We would get a lot of sunshine. But the guy, we rented a house and he's trying to show us how to use the AC and stuff. We had the heat on all weekend. Are you serious? We had the heat on. A bunch of girls. We're like, woo! Yeah. But we hit the natural hot springs, which was nice. You're such a hippie. Really? The natural hot springs. She bathed in the natural hot springs. Did you go, wow, this is so great. Glug, glug, glug, glug. No, it smells like sulfur. You don't want to drink that. It smells like our studio. Yeah. Thanks, Mike. Thanks, Mike, with your hard-boiled eggs every morning. I'm trying to be good about my eating. Maybe eat them in the car. Maybe eat them in the hallway. You're right. It's the most disgusting thing. They smell. They blend in just perfectly in the bathroom. Oh, they're awful. They smell so bad. They do. They do. It's really good for you, and it's the best to eat them in the morning like you're doing. I don't have to eat them in here. I'm not going to.
Because it grosses me out. We just shamed him out of that. Well, no, it grosses me out. I don't want to be around it. You should eat it on your way in. You should get that metabolism going anyway. Well, anyway. Because he eats his salt and pepper and his habanero spices and all the stuff that he puts on it. And he has to be wearing his robe when he does it. It's just not going to work. Sitting on the throne. My robes. Peel your eggs, sir. His cloaks and everything. Well, Lauren went up to Ojai, which, I don't even know where that is. I didn't know where it is, where it was. It's like southeast of Santa Barbara. It is? It's that far away? Yeah, it was that far away. How long did it take you to get there? Well, I stopped in L.A. first, so it took me about... Compton, right? Yeah, of course. Had to pick up my boyfriend. That's right. Probably about three and a half hours, maybe four. Oh, God. Forget it. It was fine. I loved it. I was in my car by myself listening to good music at the windows down. That's the best time forever. I love it. It's the best thing for you. I love it. You must love that. She's like, oh, this is great. No friends, no people. Yeah. No phone calls. No phone calls. I love this. Yeah, it was. What are the temperature of hot springs?
The hot springs can get up to, like, the hundreds, but it was probably, like, maybe, like, 90s, high 90s when we were in. I've heard it's, like, good for you. It's supposed to be good for you. I was, like, because I was expecting a bunch of naked people in mud. It wasn't? There was one naked guy who definitely felt way out of place. He was allowed to be naked in you? No, it's private property. You're not even supposed to be there. The cops came down and kicked us out. Really? Mm-hmm. You went onto private property and got into nature's natural screens? I mean, only Lauren. And Jay. And Jay. Well, my friend was like, hey guys, cops, cops. And I was like, so? Because I didn't realize we were on private property. I would have flipped out. If I had found out that we were on private property. Yeah, then I did. And they were, oh my gosh, they were so nice about it. They were like, hey guys, this is actually private property. The owner's been calling. You got to get out of here. It's a very interesting group of people that were down there. I bet there were. The one naked guy. He was in his late 30s, early 40s, and he said, like, we got to talking to him, and he's like, because it's a secret spot. We got to talking to him. We did, but it's a secret spot. Of course he was naked. Of course you girls did. Hi, naked guy. What are you doing?
He's like, how'd you guys find this spot? And we told him how we found it. And he's like, you know, I'd been here years ago. We Googled naked guys. Yeah. But you could tell he was like the last couple times. He hadn't been there in like 10 years. He was like the last time he had been there, it was like a naked fest. So you could tell he was kind of like. He was ready to party. Yeah. Was he by himself? No, he was with a girl. A Chilean girl. Was she naked in there too? She was in her bathing suit. You could tell she was probably like, I thought you said everyone was going to be naked. Oh, my gosh. You're on your own, pal. Wow. How would you feel if the guy here first was the only naked person there? I don't know. We should hear Rebecca on the phone and find out. You know what? I did that in the privacy of my own home while I'm on the Internet. Except when other people are there. He wasn't being a pervert. He was being very discreet. And then when the cops there, he scrambled. He was being discreet. He was. He did the tuck before he jumped in. How are you discreet if you're naked? Because he had his, like, everything was closed up and he was sitting in, like, a corner. And then we got out. He, like, grabbed the towel to cover his junk. Why not just put on some trunks? Yeah, bro. It looked like there was a pile of, like, patchouli and, like. Oh, my God. And, like. Where were you? Hashish. Hashish. I was in the natural hot springs. Write that down. Please.
We were lucky to even find it. It's a secret spot. That sounds like it. That sounds so miserable to me. It was awesome. If I had to hike there, Mikey. Yeah, we did. Oh, God, forget it. Oh, no. Did you just park the VW Bug and get out and just hike up there? No, we parked the Prius. Oh, my God. Next to the other four Priuses that were there? Yeah. Oh, wow. Was the guy attractive, the naked guy? He was not. Yeah. Yeah, you just waved your head no. Yeah, he was. Yeah, he was totally. He was. Totally attractive. You should go to Burning Man. They have a hot springs there, but there are. 500 to 600 naked people. That's not my scene. Of course. I can't do big crowds. It was perfect. It was cool. There was just like 10 people there. It was perfect. That was your limit. One naked guy and his Chilean girlfriend. Over under, we could get Mikey to Burning Man this year. Really? Zero percent chance. Negative percent. Negative percent chance. Mikey hit Burning Man. Oh my gosh. I'd rather be a Burning Man than go to Burning Man. You'd rather literally be a Burning Man.
Oh, my goodness. So freeing. I'd rather have a Vuvuzela playing in my ear. Constantly and nonstop. The fair is over. Yeah, it closed at 10 p.m. last night. It did? Yeah. You guys are excited? Yes. I went three times. You did? Oh, wow. I didn't go. What, have they got any numbers on it? Yeah, there was more than 1.3 million people, which is the record-breaking year was this year. I have a theory. Why? Why? Food was the theme. Delicious. People just like food. That was the theme? Yeah, food. It was like something like... Taste the fun. Oh, that's right. They sold over 10,000 fish tacos. That's what I heard about the fish tacos. The fish tacos were the best. Really? They were the best. I think they were the best food there. Really? Personally. Wow.
Also, look forward to, guys, now that you're happy that there's not going to be traffic, you won't have long because the races start Wednesday, July 21st. Love the horse races. They're not taking much time off. Maybe we can move back to North Park. Yeah, so Wednesday opening day is going to be crazy on the roads over there. 570-1949. Are we going to go as a show? Yeah. Opening day? No, no, no. Couldn't get me anywhere near that opening day. You won't wear a hat? I'm going to wear my big red dress. It's fun if you go easy big time in the VIP area. Yeah. Because it's like less people. Have you been there? Yep. Of course you have. When you're young and blonde, I guess you just get to do stuff. Yeah. I used to. Not anymore. Danced her way in. Yeah. Danced her way in. Excuse me. Is this seat taken? It's fun, but opening day is a beating. I'm sure. Opening day anywhere is a beating. It doesn't matter what it is. I did it once. It takes you eight hours to get in there to park. Everyone's way better looking than me. Oh, no. Everyone's wasted, too. They get there on the limo buses and stuff and everyone's falling out. Leaving is the worst. Yeah, leaving is like, whoa. Rich, drunk people. Yeah. And they're just all hot and sweaty. They're not sweaty because they're in the turf club. Yeah. Nice and ghoul up there. Sounds good to me, actually. I'm still waiting to hear the bad parts. Yeah. Well.
We'll see when opening day gets here. It's an experience. If you've never done it, it's fine. Get a big hat. You have to wear a hat. Okay. So, Sienna, what is the story of the 10 retail power players? What is that? Like, the best places to go buy some electronics and stuff like that. And not just electronics, just the big retail stores. Like, what's one that comes to mind? I'll give you the top 10, and they're in order. Best Buy. Number 10, Best Buy. Walmart. Number one, Walmart. Costco is on there. They're number six. Lowe's is number eight. Statler Brothers. My dad would call it Statler Brothers, but it's Stater Brothers. They sell groceries. That's not on there. Prize. No, you know what is on there? It's Sears. Oh, yeah. I never go to Sears, but I do like Sears. They're really big. I do. The Kenmore washer and dryer and the Whirlpool refrigerators. On washer and dryers real quickly. They don't make washer and dryers like they used to. They're all fancy now. I agree. And they stink. Why? The fancy one. That's what we have. A fancy one? We have a fancy one, too. My mom and dad had an old Kenmore. They still have it. It lasts forever. 70 years old. I know. That's how ours is. It's really old, but it works. It's great. Not only do they work, they work great. Now.
these new fandangled ones. And I've talked to people that have different brands than we do. Those front loading washer and dryer, they stink. They, you know, they make your clothes smell mildewy. And I talked to a lot of people that have that issue. Do you leave the clothes in there for too long? She'll leave them in there, but still. It wouldn't do that. It wouldn't do that in the old ones. I don't feel like they get very clean. No. Like I sometimes feel like I need to wash them twice. Well, me, I used to like to put the, I would put two times the amount of fabric softener that they tell you to. I like some soft clothes. Yeah, I liked my clothes to feel like cotton candy. I've never used fabric softener in my whole life. Oh, it's the greatest. It's the best. And the new fandangled ones, washer and dryers, they only let you put a certain amount in there. What I love about them, though, is they're so quiet. They are quiet. You know, the old ones are so loud. The one at my house is so loud. Yeah, but they work good. Mine are double stacked. You know the little Hawaiian dancer that you gave us? Yeah. I put her on the edge of my washer so that when it gets all crazy, she starts doing. That's funny. That's funny. What did we miss? Give me the ones that we missed. Also, Lowe's is on there, number eight. CVS, number seven, like Lauren said. Costco. They do. They sell electronics. I love CVS. Walgreens, number four. Target, number three. Kroger. That must be somewhere else. That's a grocery store in the East Coast. And Texas. And like Mike said, Walmart, number one. All right, so UFC stuff coming up. And also.
Wait till Woodsy tells you about Kobayashi. Kobayashi, former hot dog guy. Former hot dog guy. Eats the hot dogs. He got arrested. I don't know if I can make it through this audio without crying from laughing so hard. It's the best. It's fantastic. Fantastic. So we got it next in Woods on Sports. And Jay. I'm a romantic. So sue me. On FM 94.9. One top song in the country right now is this one from Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg. Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg. It's called California Girls. Welcome back. It's the Mikey Show. We enjoy you listening. Thank you for doing that. Who's the band in the 80s that sang that song that went... Who was it? Missing Persons. That's what she's doing. She's doing Missing Persons. This is such a summer song for every girl in high school. Yeah, great. If we were in Maryland, maybe it would make sense. It's summer there. Yeah, it's summer there.
I know. It's like we're in Australia. It's true. It's probably warmer there. It's probably warmer. It's awful. Let's see. Okay, so behind the music this weekend, and don't forget, we're going to be telling you about the Kobayashi thing coming up here in just a second. Woodsy's going to tell you about what happened with UFC and also with Kobayashi, who got arrested. We'll tell you all about it. Behind the music is back. The best. It's really good. I mean, they could do it on anybody. Anyone. They could do it on Missing Persons. I'd watch it. Absolutely. I love that stuff. But they just did one. And I don't know about this incident. We'll play this and you tell me. Jennifer Lopez, when she was dating Diddy. After a night of dancing, a scumple broke out in the VIP section of the club. Jennifer says she and Puffy decided to make their way out. We're moving through the crowd, trying to exit. The crowd starts moving like this. Next thing you know, there's gunshots. I'm running up some stairs. I'm hiding. The guys are gone. I'm in the club by myself. Oh, my gosh. One of the guys comes back for me. We go out a side door. And then, you know, next day I knew we were in the car. And it was just, I mean, it was just all so fast and surreal. So, I don't know anything about. You don't remember that? No. Oh, yeah. He went to trial. Do we know what it was about? Like, were they trying to kill?
Was it just random? I don't know, man. I don't know, but it was a big, big deal. It kind of broke them up. It did? Yeah. Back then, Jayla used to wear bandanas every day on her head. She was Jenny from the block. That's right. Don't be fooled by the rocks that she's got. Did she kind of transition out of that? Yeah. Of course she did. She does better that way. Every guy she dates, she goes towards them. Whatever they like is how she portrays herself. So she would just sit around and... browse the internet if her and I dated. Become slovenly. Lay in bed and browse the internet. That's what she would be known for. She would be like, I love watches more than anyone. She'd be wearing cloaks. Cloaks, perfumes. Keith Bell from the San Diego Padres is going to be on the show here in just a moment. Right now, M1 Papa Drizzt from Oceanside. Are you there? Good morning, Mikey Show. Good morning, dude. Hey, I know why those front-loading washers smell so bad all the time. Why? It's because they have to be sealed because the water's going on them. And so a lot of people don't leave them open because the door gets in the way. And so when you close it, there's nothing to let the water evaporate. When you have like a top loading washer, it's not sealed. And a lot of times you leave the lid open. So they recommend that you leave that door open. But a lot of people don't because it gets in the way all the time. What a pain. And thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Leave it open overnight, maybe. How often? Like all the time or just every once in a while?
I mean, until it gets dry and you don't really know because you can't see where the water is. Oh, okay. How filthy do they stink like mold? Ugh, I know. I think they can figure it out. Maybe overnight leave it open. Hey, thanks for telling us that, Papa Driz. No problem. Have a great day on the show. Thank you. I wonder if they sell the ones that open from the top. I'm sure they do. I have one. Yeah, I'm sure they do. New? Yeah. It's a stackable washer and dryer. That's cool. You can go see her today if you want. Look at them. I bet the cheaper they are, the better they are. Just me and you. Should we go to Sears? Look at some... Just browse. Hold hands. Yeah. Real sweetly. Talk about your feelings. All right. All right. You guys can share a step on the escalator. Your hopes and dreams. All right, yeah. We can both slide down the escalator together. Run on each side. No, you can catch Mikey at the bottom. At Savannah? I think I hit my limit there where the man woods are in love jokes. Yeah, sure you have. You done? 5701949. Don't be in love and we won't joke about it. You know who doesn't get joked about? Words, words, words. Words, words, words. Words on sports. I'm going to get to that Kobayashi story in a minute, but I wanted to tell you first about the Padres this weekend. They took three of four from the Astros. Imagine that. Nice. Went to the game. You know, one thing, and Heath Bell's going to be calling, and I want to ask him how it feels to be on a team that...
finds a way to win those close games. And every game that they play, it's a close game. And that is the mark of a really, really good team. So I want to know what it's like in that locker room, man. I'll tell you what, man. That's what's so cool about this version of the Padres. Yep, absolutely. Well, I got to tell you too, dude. I was watching the All-Star Selection show on Saturday, I believe. And I was just waiting. I'm waiting. I'm like, okay, this guy, really? This guy, really? My dad's watching on that guy, really? Well, there were three Padres that were left off. I mean, just flat out left off the roster. Heath Bell's one of them. He's leading the majors in saves. He's got 23 saves. Major League leader. He's not going. How does the guy that's leading not go? Matt Latos, one of the best young pitchers in the game. He's got a phenomenal record, phenomenal ERA, quality starts, seven-inning starts. He's one of the best not going. Luke Gregerson, one of the best bullpen guys in the majors. He's not going. Of the three, though, Heath Bell. 1,000% should be at that All-Star game. 1,000%. So it's a bummer. It's next week. It's July 13th. Heath Bell is up for the final man vote. So you can go to MLB.com and vote for him. I did probably 15 times between Saturday and Sunday. So there's still a chance if we can vote him in. We got to do it. M1's got to go, and you got the people, got to speak, and go vote him in. Yep, MLB.com. Go now. Go now.
Absolutely. UFC 116 was this weekend. Brock Lesnar was out for a year. He had diverticulitis and had lost all this weight. They said, you may never fight again. Well, he fought again. And he came back and he fought Shane Carwin and he beat him. He got him to tap out in the second round. Here's Brock Lesnar on his win. Cut one. This isn't about me tonight. This isn't about me tonight. This is about my family. This is about my doctors. This is about my training partners, my training staff, my God. I stand before you, a humble champion, and I'm still the toughest SLB around, baby. Well, kind of humble then. Yeah, it's kind of humble. We had Mike Goldberg, play-by-play guy for UFC on Friday, and here was the call. Trying to stay very lax to Shane Carwin with one of the strongest men. Love it, dude. That's awesome. It's so great. It's such a cool fight. All right, so if you're driving any cars right now, you're going to want to brace yourselves for this one. Uh-oh.
Is this it? So this week they had the Nathan's hot dog eating. For the 4th of July. Yeah, and so your boy Joey Chestnut is your champion now, right? Defending. Defending. He ate 54 hot dogs in 10 minutes. Disgusting. I watched the highlights. I retched several times while I was watching it. Do they eat the buns? They do. They do? They eat the buns. They dip it in water. Ew. That's so gross. I retched. I can't watch it. I cannot bring myself to watch it. So here's the interesting part. They pan to the crowd, and there's Kobayashi, who wouldn't sign a deal with the World Eating Organization. And so he wouldn't sign this deal. So he goes to the event anyway, and he's watching, and he's in the crowd. And I guess I'll let... Kobayashi explained what happened. Cut to. Maybe you should explain it. Yes, he said, I went there as a spectator just to cheer on my ex-buddies who I've been eating with. And actually when I was there, everyone started chanting for me. Let him eat, let him eat.
And he said, I jumped on the stage hoping that maybe because of the cheers, the Nathans would actually let him eat and prove that he was the champ. But then he got arrested. She spoke. Four times as long as he did. Yeah, exactly. Isn't that great that in Japanese you go, He said that when he first came to this country, he was nervous about doing this, but after a period of time, he felt more comfortable doing it. So he gets, so he actually is resisting arrest. They showed the officers grabbing him, and he's like fighting him, and I was like, He looks like he's a scrawny little guy and he fights like a tank. It's the most awkward arrest ever. They threw him in jail and this is him on his night in jail.
By the way, he just read the Gettysburg Address. The whole thing. Front to finish. I'm hungry. You're hungry. He said he had a sandwich. And one glass of milk. And he said that basically he's just really hungry. Did you have any hot dogs? Really? You got to do that? I would ask for that. Yeah. I wanted to eat a hot dog. Of course he did. Did you have 57 hot dogs? Did you write the record in jail? Woodsy, we interrupt Woods on Sports to speak to Heath Bell, who is on the line. Heath, how are you? I'm doing pretty good. How are you guys doing? Good. So good to have you on. Let me tell you. We are just telling our listeners right now to go to MLB.com and vote for you and get you in the All-Star Game, which, by the way, I cannot believe that you are not already in the All-Star Game, being that you lead the major leagues right now in saves. It's unbelievable. Yeah, it's mind-boggling to me, too. Maybe since...
Kobayashi didn't get a chance to eat such a hot dog. Maybe I won't get a chance to go to the All-Star game. Did you have any hot dogs for the 4th of July? Did you have any hot dogs? No, I did not because the party that I went to had burritos. There you go. I probably had about five or six of those. Well done. Being that it's 17 degrees outside, that's another reason people haven't been grilling as much. But Heath Bell. is absolutely tearing the major leagues up right now in saves. And, Woodsy, you wanted to ask him something. Well, I mean, I want to ask you a million things. But you guys, I just moved to town, Heath, and have been following you guys pretty regularly, really every night, and watching you guys win these close games, man. I mean, 2-1, 3-2. How does that feel for you guys to be able to win those games that maybe in previous years you guys haven't been able to pull out?
Well, for me personally, and Adrian Gonzalez, because we've been here the longest, it feels great because, you know, the young guys last year that came up are pretty much here this year, and they have that confidence that you need in the major leagues that, you know, if you just go out there and do your thing, you'll get guys out, and you'll win ballgames. But a lot of times guys try to do too much, and that's when mistakes happen or errors happen or they leave a pitch up. So there's that confidence. And then also we've instilled in the young guys, the coaching staff has, is don't compete against your own team. Compete against the other guy. You don't want to take so-and-so's job. I mean, initially, I know Mike Adams and Luke Gregerson want to be closers, but they're not trying to take the closer's job from me. They're just like, you know what, I just want to win this year, and then whatever happens the next year or two, then that's what's going to happen. But I just want to win and help the ball club win. These young guys are definitely believing that and doing that. It's amazing to see every day we go out there. This all-star game, we all were joking around that Adrian was going to get snuffed because our pitching staff was so good. Now, we don't even have one pitcher there. In the paper, Matt Latos, one of our starters and young guys, he's got better numbers than three of the guys that are going now. Then they also put my numbers up there.
better numbers than every closer that's going. So it's just kind of mind-boggling how we didn't even get one pitcher in there. Well, I was shocked because last week I had said, I go, hey, you guys watch out because there's going to be four Padres on this staff. And I had originally said, you know, obviously Adrian and then yourself was a no-brainer to me. And then I said Luke Gregerson is deserving, as is Matt Latos. Latos, he's a number one. I mean, straight up, he's one of the best pitchers in baseball right now. At least the last two months he definitely was. Absolutely. Also in the newspaper yesterday that we saw was every first-place team in the American League or National League had three or more players. Yeah, except the Padres. The Reds have three players. The Braves have five players. We have one. That's shocking. And I have a feeling that either somebody in the baseball world, I'm not going to name names, doesn't really care for us, or they just don't like us, plain and simple. I wish you would name names. Me too. Well, I don't know who does all the picking, you know. Heath Bell is on the line. He's a closer for the San Diego Padres and best in the country right now. Heath, let me tell you, this team is really different. I mean, there's something really different about this team. And Woodsy said it earlier, they're winning those games that in the past were hard for them to close. What's been the difference this year in this team? What's going on? I think we believe in ourselves and we believe in each other.
and we're having fun, and there's no bad apples whatsoever. I mean, we were joking around on the plane today or yesterday saying, you know what, if we got one hit and it's the seventh, eighth inning, we got them right where we want them. Exactly. So great. Exactly. You know, and then Eckstein jumped in and goes, yeah, we don't want to score early because then they'll want to score back. Exactly. Somebody jumped in and goes, yeah, by the time they realize that we scored, the game's over. Yeah. Well, Heath, so the All-Star game is coming up. It's one of my favorite days of the year. I absolutely love it. I hope that we get to see you there for sure. But let me ask you this. The trade deadline is approaching, too. What do you guys need, or do you need anything? You know, one, it would be nice to go to the All-Star game and to represent the Padres there. Absolutely. And then, two, for the trade deadline. You know, I think we would love another bat, but we've got to make sure and be smart about it because we have a great clubhouse chemistry and everything. I mean, it would really help Adrian out. It would help us out as pitchers to get, like, you know, another run or two during a game instead of just one-nothing all the time. You know what? Go ahead. Go ahead, Heath. But, yeah, we would really like another stick. You know, somebody could hit. But also, we also, I think we've talked, and if we don't get it.
getting another bat, we're just fine with that because we'll go out there and beat guys the way we are. You know what is going to be great? And this is one of those things that people don't realize. Other cities that have got guys in the All-Star game, and here we are looking at getting you in, they don't realize the power behind the M1 Nation. And when I say that, I don't say it flippantly. I mean it. Our listeners are rabid fans. When we put them on this, I'm telling you, they go nuts. So I am calling on everybody listening right now to go to MLB.com, vote for Heath Bell. That's it. Plain and simple, go to MLB.com and vote for Heath Bell. Let's get him in this thing. Yeah, and you can vote several times. I voted 15, 20 times this weekend. I'm going to vote some more on a break here today. We're going to get everybody to do it. And by the way, Heath, I'm batting about 300 in my men's league team. So if you guys need another stick, man, I'm here. Just waiting on the call, brother. All right, well, you know, when we get back in town, I'll watch you. Let's do it. Tell him to get, Heath. Just say get. Hey, Heath, I got a question.
Did you go to the fair this year? Yes, I did. Did you walk by the pitching game? Yeah, but my wife didn't let me play. Are you serious? Did you want to? Oh, yeah. Absolutely wanted to. She only let me eat one funnel cake, and I wanted to have more than that. Because I actually, when I saw it, I actually thought about that. I'm like, I know the Padres come here. I wonder if Heath Bell will win his wife, like, a prize. Well, see, the thing is, my wife does not like stuffed animals. Me neither. So she didn't watch. She's like, no. So she talked you out of it. She thinks they're dust collectors. Oh, that's so hilarious. She doesn't even like them for our kids. So it's one of those things that I'm like, you know, you want to get your girl or wife a nice, cute stuffed animal or something. She's like, ah, no. Well, I mean, dude, if you're Heath Bell and you're at the fair.
Of course. I mean, just to say that you did it would be fun. He doesn't want to attract too much attention. Really? Can you imagine him getting up and just ripping off like a 92-mile-an-hour fastball? Oh, that'd be so awesome. That'd be so great. The kids got to play some fair games. That's cool. That is cool. That's so funny. Well, Heath, we're going to get you in there, man. We're going to get the M1 Nation on it, and we're going to get people voting for you. You can vote as many times as you want. I want people to go, and especially if you have today off, just sit there all day long and vote for Heath. Just click on it and click on it and click on it and click on it and click on it as many times as you can. That's pretty much what my dad did on his fourth July party in Texas. You know, and this isn't us being homers at all. This is us giving the guy that... absolutely deserves to be there. I mean, there's no reason he shouldn't be there, so let's make it right for him. Cool guy. Thank you, Heath. We appreciate you coming on. Hey, I appreciate you guys' vote. You bet. Thanks, man. We'll see you. That's Heath Bell. He's real, real good. Yeah, he is. And the fact that you can vote as many times as you want, all it is is a resolve contest. How resolved are we? Are we resolved enough to sit there all day long and just keep voting? We should, because that's awesome.
Did we miss anything, by the way, big in sports? A couple things, man. Amari Stoudemire, one of the biggest free agents out there, is going to the New York Knicks. Really? Yeah, just an absolute turd of a team, but he's trying to get them back to where they need to be. Five years, $100 million. Oh, wow. Yeah, I've actually got a clip of him, Mike. This is him cut four on his new squad. Let's hear this. The Knicks are back. You know, it's definitely great to be a part of a beautiful organization. Something that, you know, is well-appreciative and looking to, you know, to build something special here. L.O.B. Also, Mikey, Rafael Nadal won Wimbledon. He did. Yeah, he was great. And then I have the Bonehead of the Week Award. Two? Jamarcus Russell. How come? Got arrested. He did? Sure did. For what? A little cough syrup. Yeah. Cough syrup. Cough syrup. He, like, had it on him? Yeah, and didn't have a prescription for it. Like, how does that happen? Some cops walk into your... I think I got him in the car. He had his cough medicine in the car with him? It probably explains why he's been asleep on the field for the last two years. Yeah, maybe it does. Oh, my gosh. Really? Yeah, terrible. Oh, that's the worst. Sarah Palin's daughter, Bristol Palin, was on a show last night on ABC called The Secret Life of the American Teenager.
Here's my question for you. Would you tell your kid if you could clearly see that your kid did not have talent for something? Would you tell them? Could you tell them? I think my dad did. He did? I think he told me. No way. I want to know what. Maybe it was ballet. Could be. Maybe you just didn't have the chops for ballet and he couldn't stand to see you out there. Well, we all know that's not true. Is that? Yeah. We all know. That's right. All right. Well, I have a clip. of her acting. Oh, wow. And I listened to it this morning, and I thought, and that's, the question came to me. Maybe you care about her, and it's like putting a blanket over her and going, let's go, come on, everybody, all right, it's all over. I think everybody's seen what they want to see. You know what I mean? So I play it. We'll play it next. This is The Mikey Show, FM 94.9. Parents like to give you advice.

power to just be able to deal with it. Some kids would crumble and be devastated, you know? Well, let's listen to Bristol Palin acting in last night's The Secret Life of the American Teenager on ABC. Who is it? It's your buddy, Bristol. Who? We're on a buddy system here. We're buddies. Open the door. I don't know anything about that. Are you Amy Juergens? We have to get to class. You missed orientation. Oh, my gosh. Oh, God. She's reading up a teleprompter. Second grade play. I couldn't find the school. I came back yesterday morning at 9 to go with you. Oh, I was up by 7. I left you a note on the door last night, but I see it's still there. Yeah. Mike, stop! I lost my day. Sorry. All right, well, I'm just going to turn off my computer. I was just going to send something to my family. Real actor. Do you have a son or a daughter? I have a son. Me too. How did you know I had a baby?
Real actor. And you have a son? We're all teen moms and musicians. Everyone in this program, the program, it's for teen moms. Oof. So I didn't get here on my own? Of course you did. I think we've heard him. Wow. That's funny. I think we get the point. Maybe she was just really nervous. You think so? On the 81st take? Is it just me or did they both sound exactly alike though? No, I thought one of them sounded like a professional. The one girl had a little raspy and she had good... Intonation, pause. I mean, one of them was an actor. I mean, whether or not they were a great actor, that's up to you. But I mean, one of them clearly was not an actor. I'm sure the show seeked out Bristol because she kind of fits with the show and it would have drawn an audience. And look, we're playing a clip from the show. I don't get it. Is it a reality show or? I think it's a. No, it's like a One Tree Hill. Oh, yeah. Why did she play herself? She couldn't play anyone else. She couldn't even play herself. Yeah, it's hard to play herself. But that's why they did it, I'm sure. They thought, well, how bad could it be? She's going to play herself. My question, though, is that if your kid's not good at something, do you say to them, sorry, son.
But you just, you don't have any talent for this. No. Don't do it. You say no, Jay. No, you have to let them take their chances and fail or succeed. I mean, you can't, oh, you should not try that. You know, you just let them go for it. And you never know if they can get better. Yeah, absolutely. I think you could be like very ginger. I mean, she could put in work and she could get better. She could take acting lessons. Maybe if you've exhausted all your efforts and they're still horrible. Yeah. Just gently nudge them into. Something else. Sounds good to me. I think they'll get gently nudged on their own. Yeah. What about Rudy, Mike? What about Rudy? What if his parents would have said to him, you're too small, Rudy? They did say that to him. They did? Yeah, and he did it anyway. You know what, too? In spite of them. Junior Seau, he never made the football team when he tried out in high school. Michael Jordan. Yeah. Didn't make varsity. What if their dads or moms had said to them? I know. What about Michael Shannon? Yeah, what about Michael Shannon? Michael Shannon. That was me back in the day. What about Albert Einstein? He couldn't talk until he was like five. And he knew stuff. What about Steve Woods? What about Steve Woods? What about you, Steve? You realize what a terrible baseball player I was when I first started? Really? I didn't get a hit my first probably two years of playing ball. Look at you now. Look at me now. Blowing up the phones for Reach Local and then working here.
San Diego Adult Baseball League. Starting first baseman. Yeah, dude. What if your dad had discouraged you? You would not be on a must-pay-only basis baseball team. Exactly. Here in San Diego. Batting seven. Where everybody's uniform is different. You wouldn't be doing that. Exactly. If you had given up on it. What if I, what if I, yeah, what if my dad had told me, you're not that good? Yeah. Didn't he? No. You wouldn't be paying, you wouldn't be playing. To at least four to five people a weekend. Every weekend. Every single weekend, at least. Wow, you are cutting deep, Mike. Kind of like the Padres game sometimes. That's true. Sometimes we outdraw them. You guys are in the same league. Yeah, sometimes you guys have a bigger audience. Well, 570-1949 is our phone number. Or you can text us, 949Mikey, at gmail.com. If your kid isn't good at something, would you say to him, listen, kid. You don't have the chops for this. Or have you? Yeah. I'm sure some parents have done it. Has anybody ever done it? Have you ever had it done to you? Do your parents ever say to you, you're not good at this. I don't want you to do it anymore. And here's the other question. See, I understand the logic and agree with the logic that Jay's giving. I agree. And L.O.B. said it too. I agree with you guys. I think that you let your kid.
At least get out there and give it a shot. But my question is, what about when it's going to be on a national stage and you know that they're going to be embarrassed? If you were Bristol Palin's daughter or mom. Can you get on a stage in front of people? That's what they did. They got on a national stage. What? Maybe she just choked. And like when she ran her lines at home, she was great. She was great. But when she got in front of the cameras, it was a different story. I'll tell you, Mike, if someone had discouraged me not to play tiddlywinks. Shut up. I may not be in the political. You are an accomplished political person. I read all publications. I know you do. Even tiddlywinks today. I know. What if you hadn't read Highlights Magazine when you were a child? You wouldn't be where you are today. I wrote for Highlights magazine as a child. So awesome. See, she wrote for Highlights when she was a kid. 5701949. It appears that topic is blowing up. We have absolutely no calls. Crickets, crickets. Seriously, I thought that was interesting. I was like, well, listen, I want to know. What would I tell my kid if I watched him? They think you're a monster, Mike. Yeah. I wouldn't say to my kid, listen, you don't have any talent for this.
But the only reason I wouldn't is because Jay and LLB just talked to me. Well, my dad, like, I wasn't allowed to do certain things. Like what? Because, like, I wanted to play the clarinet. My dad was like, no, that's not going to. Not going to happen. It's not going to take you anywhere. You're going to play sports. I don't want Jake to play the accordion. Yeah. That's too bad because Uncle Woods was online pricing him this weekend. Stop. No way. He's getting it. He's getting it. Guess what, Mike? Guess what my biggest desire to this day is? What? Play the clarinet? That I could have been a musician. Could have been playing the clarinet. It would have led to other things if I would have learned music theory at a young age. But now I'm just like. You'd be in Los Angeles later today scoring a movie on the clarinet. I could be Eskimo Blue Waters. Yeah. I could be making commercials. Thanks, Dad. Playing fake gigs. Thanks, Dad. I could be an accomplished clarinet artist right now if it weren't for you. It could have led to other things. But I'm saying, don't discourage him. Don't discourage him from getting that accordion. You let your kids do whatever they want to do. I'm buying it for him. Why not? M1 Eve did it from Vista. Are you there? Yeah, I'm here. You discouraged your kid, right? I did, unfortunately. And now he doesn't like to do anything. What did you discourage him from? From playing baseball because he can't catch. Bring him up here. I'll work with him.
We'd throw the ball. My husband and I would throw the ball to him, and he misses every time. Sounds like little Mikey when I was a child. Give me 10 minutes with that kid. I'll make it right. You know, he finally learned how to catch a football, but a baseball he can't catch. Well, let me ask, Woods. Let me ask you. If the boy can't catch, how do you teach him? I guarantee I already know what he's doing. What's he doing wrong? He's probably holding his glove like this, and he's probably backing his head away from it. Maybe his glove is too stiff. Upside down, yeah. Upside down. There's a million things. I can coach like a madman. M1 Eve. Maybe you should. Maybe I would. Eve, are you there? I'm here. How old is your child? He's going to be 11. Oh, yeah. Would you consider letting Woods teach him, or does he already know how now? He doesn't. He still doesn't. Yeah, I'd probably consider it. I mean, I played softball. You know, his dad didn't play any sports or anything, so I think he gets it from him. Call out. You should teach him. When I was a kid, I was five or six. I was playing catch with my brother in the front yard. The baseball hit me in the face, and I started crying on the grass. And all I wanted was for my brother to come over and comfort me. And he was like, get up, you Sally. And I was staying there, and I'm like, any second he's going to come over here and comfort me. And he wouldn't.
And he finally gave up. He walked off. I was like, well, that's the end of baseball for me. Really? Yeah, it was a sensitive child. It's tough love with little kids in sports, though. You have to, yeah. You got to say, get up, you little jerk. You Sally. What, are you going to sit down to pee? Yeah, what, are you going to sit down to pee all your life? Yes. Yes, I am. Turns out I do. Turns out I do. Yeah, you have to teach them when you fall, you get right back up. Otherwise, every time a little boo-boo happens, it's going to be like... Well, how about you walk over to him and you say, sit up now. I've got to teach you something. When the ball hits you, you've got to take it and you've got to get back up again. But that's your brother. He didn't have the years of wisdom that a parent would have. That's right. It's true. He was 17 at the time. And he didn't really know. I'm not saying it scarred me. I'm just saying that 47 years later, I still remember it as if it were yesterday. That's all I'm saying. I'm not saying it made an impression. Was that the last time you played catch? Of course it was. Someone, Denise from Ramona is online. Are you there, Denise? Good morning. Yes, I am. I totally agree with Mikey that I think you should tell your child if they're not really excelling at something. However, if they have a passion for what they're doing, let them continue to do it.
Subtly, or not subtly, but kindly and gently tell them, hey, you know what? I know you love this and I love watching you or listening to you or whatever it is. But you know what? I don't think you're really going to do something with it. Wait, Denise, time out. Denise, time out. I wouldn't. I don't want people to think that I was saying that I would tell them. I probably wouldn't tell them. I probably wouldn't tell them. Okay, well, then I disagree with you. Yeah. It's more embarrassing to get out and think you're great at something because your parents have told you how great you are to find out later from people that you don't know that you really suck. They're going to give up naturally. Yeah, but wouldn't you be like, my parents are awesome. They encourage me to do it no matter what. Exactly. Encourage them and just love them for regardless of whether they're good or they're bad. You know why, Denise? Because if they stink at it, they're going to stop anyway. Exactly. They're not going to make the cut. They're not going to make the cut. And they're going to go, ah, forget it. Or if they have brothers and sisters, they'll be there to tell them that they suck. Jasper played baseball one year, and then she was like, okay, done with that, Dad. He's too little to even know if he's good or bad at something. They have a full-on pitching machine that the ball comes flying at the kids. That's second grade, though, yeah. Yeah, I guess you're right. And that's what I was going to say next. The one thing that I am really, that I wish that my parents had not done is let me quit stuff. Yep.
They let me quit guitar. And if you quit that, they should have said, okay, then it has to be something else that you try. Yeah. See, and I understand it. Now as a parent, I get it. They stopped because it was like, oh, cool. That means I don't have to drive you to a lesson. So they were like, you want to quit? Oh, that's too bad. Okay, great. And I get it. I mean, it's a pain in the, you know, it's a pain in the jeans driving your kid to one of these deals. You know, you don't want to do that every week. That's why I played soccer because. My sister played, and the practices were in the same field there. So I was like, oh, your sister plays soccer, you're going to play soccer too. Did you like it? I did, but I ended up being better at field hockey. Better with the hand-eye than the foot-eye coordination. And L.O.B. is freakishly talented when it comes to running. Yeah, she can run. I wonder if that's because your body is like, if your body has something to it that helps you to do that. Like Lance Armstrong, he's supposed to have like extra, ventricle and his heart lets his heart beat. Both of my parents are fast, but the problem is when you're a woman and you develop hips, you slow down a little bit because instead of running straight, you're running side to side. You must be really slow then. Oh, wow. Jay. Wow, Jay. You are smooth talking. Some other hips over here. 570-1949 is our phone number if you want to give us a call. M1 Mean Gene is calling in from Georgia. Yes, sir.
What's up? What's up? What's up? Hey, I got a question. I hear all this discouragement about discouraging kids that they're interested in sports and stuff, but how come when a kid is not really good at making grades in science and math, we don't think they're one of the discouraging kids in math? It's so true. It's so true. Hey, you know what? Your volcano looks a lot like a horse. Why don't you just say that? Aww. Aww. That's the beauty of college, man. And, you know, it's one of those things. Maybe elementary school should be more like college to where you really get to hone in and focus on something that you're good at. Hey, son, you got all D's this quarter. Maybe we give this up. You know, maybe this school thing isn't for you. Maybe grab a shovel. We go dig some ditches. That's right. That's a great point. We teach you something different. Teach you a trade. Fourth of July. We already found out that L.O.B. went to someplace in the universe called Ojai. Natural Springs. Where there's Natural Springs. She hung out there with a naked guy and his Brazilian girlfriend. Chilean. Chilean. Talked about the World Cup real good, I bet. It didn't. And let's see. Sienna, I'm sure you did something that involved gold bricks.
They're in La Jolla. We went diamond mining. Yeah, we blew up diamonds and watched them explode into beautiful colors. Well, you guys will like to know that Todd, my stepdaughter Jenna, the dog zipper and I went to a little neighborhood gathering, which is so cool because you don't see stuff like this anymore. All of the neighbors in this neighborhood pay for this. And there was like... Five big Astro Jump things with obstacle courses, clowns, a band, face painting, kegs, all you could eat. Cost 1.4 million dollars. Everybody chipped in in one block. Everybody in one block chipped in. It was packed. Ringling Brothers Circus is there. No, there were. There were mini ponies. President Clinton gave a commencement speech. He was like, hey, we can now start the 4th of July. There were mini ponies that you can ride. Here, here, let's get this started. Here, what's up Mulberry Drive? Mulberry Drive.
I said, Todd, do you have cash? Because we need to make sure. I don't know. I haven't been to this thing in a few years. It used to be really awesome, and you didn't have to pay for it. Grab that stack of $500 bills over there. It's under the bread. It's under Juan, our gardener. It's underneath him. Pick him up, and there's a wad of hundreds underneath him. It started as a parade and there were extravagant floats and stuff everywhere. Of course. My goodness. They paid for it. The neighborhood paid for it. The neighborhood paid for it. It's so cool. We didn't have to take out our wallet one time. You want to see marching band? Yeah, seriously. It was great. I mean, everyone was there. It was awesome. That was the opposite with us. Oh, yeah. It was cloudy, rainy. It was the grodiest 4th of July. Did you just say grody? It was. I haven't heard that in a while. It was grody. M1 Ulysses from Encinitas. Your grandfather. Hey, hang on, okay? For a second, Ulysses. I got to keep Ulysses on the line because I want to get caught up with what everybody did.
We had the Woods' over on Sunday, 4th of July. Had you guys over to swim, which was beautiful swimming weather. Me and all the kids. Did you guys wear wetsuits in the pool? No, I went just normal board shorts, but I was the only adult swimming. Only adult swimming that day. Throwing all the kids? Yeah, throwing all the kids. Jumping off the rocks. Swimming down the slide. Yesterday, Jakey said that Uncle Woods is his favorite adult. I said, what about daddy? What was his answer? What about daddy? I went, hey, what about daddy? You like daddy too? He's the best. He said, yes. I said, oh, good. Yes, but. It's hard. You don't get the break. You're with them all the time. Woods gets to go home, you know. I get to be the hero. I swoop in, grab him, throw him around a little bit. Kid loves him some Uncle Woods. He does. So cute. He loves him some Uncle Woods. Yesterday, he had to get punished for touching mom at the table again. He did this back to his bit. It's his bit. He just.
Because he just is pushing limits. A three-year-old. I know it. And it's so sad because I had to scold him and he'll cry. And it's the hardest thing in the world to do. No question. It's the slow, quiet cry. Oh, my gosh. He puts his hand over his mouth. And his eyes fill up with tears. And he does that thing where he goes, I'm so... Sorry. And I'm like, my heart and my stomach. I know. I'm an awful person. My heart and my stomach. And I'm like, I look over at Rebecca and I'm like, how do we do this? How do we do this? How am I going to live through this? No, you're doing him good because you don't want him to be the annoying kid in school that's like poking people and bothering them. It's true. It's just so hard. It's so hard to do, though. I don't know how I'm ever going to do that. Tough love. It's good for him. It would be easier if he were a brat about it. Yeah. It would be easier. genuinely sorry and upset. Oh, he's so sorry. And he's so like, I did something wrong. I'm sorry, Daddy. It's the hardest thing in the world. It's the hardest thing in the world. Let's see. Did we miss anybody? What about... Jason? Yeah, Jason. What did you do? Oh, it was a fantastic weekend. Spent a lot of time on the beach playing some bocce ball. Nice.
In parkas? Yeah. No, no, it was nice. I mean, the sun came out. I don't know where you guys were. Well, you were in Costa Rica. Yeah, you went to Costa Rica. You swam there. We fastened a jet together. I saw people get raided. Their coolers actually got gone through. What? No way. Because we always bring a cooler to the beach. I'm not going to say what's in it, but the couple down from us, you know, they weren't crazy. It was an older couple. They had their kids there. Wow. come up and went through their, actually opened their cooler, go through it, gave them a ticket, and evicted them from the beach. Oh, my God. It's an older couple with kids. They're getting real rowdy, apparently. Yeah, apparently. Wow. That's lame. Who doesn't get evicted from the beach? Oh, come on. They weren't doing anything wrong. You know who doesn't get evicted from the beach? The guy who grabs his cooler and runs it up to the truck. Yeah. Jay. Hey, let's do some Name That Tune. Call us right now. 570-1949. And you pick a horse. You pick me, Sienna, Woods, or L-O-B. And it's easy. It's just like Name That Tin. We yell our name out as a buzzer. We've got tickets to the zoo. It's for summer times, during nighttime zoo. Oh, that's going to be fun. Experience an evening with surprises. What's the category? It's going to be top 10 downloaded songs from iTunes. Top 10 downloaded songs? Like right now or ever? Oh, great. Okay.
I'm going to go to the bathroom. I'll see you guys in about 20. All right, let's do this. Let's do this. I'm going around, coming around to the other side of the board, and we're going to give this a shot. So it means it's... I wonder if we're going to get any. You'll get some, for sure. Yeah! I don't know, because I don't know that I'm going to know all that current to songs. I won't. We'll see. I know a bunch of them, so... I think you'll do. You have kids, though. Here we go. Is he talking to me? No. Okay. Who's got the score? Ready? Here we go. Ready? Let's go. Lauren. Wow. We just listened to it. Katy Perry. Oh, you know what I thought that was? I thought that was Keisha. The one that goes... Oh, it does sound like that. Was it the right... Did I get it right? You got it right. Here we go. Speechless. I came to dance, dance, dance. Oh, Mikey. Jason Derulo. Dang it. I hit the floor because that's my planes, planes, planes, planes. I'm wearing all my favorites. Nobody? Nobody. It's Tayo Cruz. Oh, of course it is. Yeah, everybody knows that. I've heard of that. I liked it. Yeah, it's good. Here we go. Woods. Lil Jon. Lauren. T-Pain. Yep.
These are all number one downloaded songs on iTunes. Top downloaded songs on iTunes. Come on. Let's sing along to it. I know. If only I still worked on 933. If only LLB could date this guy. I know. This is the voice. I don't know. Usher. I was going to say that. I was going to say that afterwards. My. Here we go. Your love made me blind. Your love made me blind. Sienna? Enrique? Jay, don't look at me with disappointing eyes. I have a guess, but I don't want to ruin it. It sounded Enrique. Love made me blind. We're all even. Nobody? Nobody.
Jason Derulo. Mikey is your boy. Here we go. Get your glow sticks out, Mikey. Oh, he's got the glow sticks moving, Mikey. Lauren. Enrique Iglesias. Thank you. It says it right there in the song. Hey, let's run down the score. Listen to this. Lauren won. Mikey, Wood, Sienna, all negative one. Amazing. Yes. Here we go. Oh, Mikey. Keisha. Is that the one that goes da-da-da-da-da-da-da? I hate the lyrics. I hate the lyrics. Someone told me that, a couple people told me I sound like her. Really? It's Kesha. Is it Kesha? I know that one. Yeah, it's Kesha. For the dollar sign. I don't know who spells her name like that. Kesha. Is there any non-gay in there? No. Can I get some non-gay? I know. I don't even know it. Lauren. Justin Bieber. Yeah!
Clay Aiken just called me and went, this music is so gay. It's so gay. Oh, I heard that little froggy voice. Okay, here's our last one. Again, Lauren should be dating this person. Oh. I'm more than just an option. What's, uh, Nelly? I know it is. I can't remember this. Refuse to be forgotten. Mikey, Mikey. I'm just going off the clue that Woods gave Amari Stoudemire. Oh, can I answer again? No. Drake. Hey, Woodsie. I was about to say, even I know that one. That's what I meant to say. I didn't know any. That's it, right? That's it, who won? Me. LLB won. Winner, winner, chicken dinner. Lauren, too. Woods and Mikey and I all negative one. Perfect. So that means... Who knew I would get the pop music? Yeah. You like it. More music. I don't even know any of those...
songs. I just recognize the voices. Good job, L.O.B. And the one set, Enrique Iglesias. M1 Boss from downtown. You there? Yeah, that's me. L.O.B. One for you, bro. Awesome. Gracias. There you go. Hang on the line. Guy gets to go to something that's actually pretty cool, that zoo at night. It sounds really cool. If you've never done it, my wife has done it before and says it's really cool and kids love it. We should all go as a team. Should we? At nighttime? I'll go. What night? Wednesday, Thursday. Let's go to the wild animal park instead. Let's do the zip line at the wild animal park. We could all go out for dinner after. Tuesday night. Yeah, Tuesday night. Get home about 1.30 in the morning. Take it to the house. Don't go to sleep. Yeah. Just pull an all-nighter. Just pull an all-nighter. Got a text for you. Woods of Wisdom coming up in a little bit. Got a text for you. See what you think about this. This one says, Mikey. Never written a radio station before for advice, but I've been listening to you guys for eight years now and almost feel like you are a buddy. I have a question about marriage I'd like to toss around. My wife and I just recently got married on Valentine's Day. Married life has been great so far, and every day I count my blessings from my beautiful wife. However, she has this notion that I kind of find ridiculous and I want...
some perspective. She wants us to celebrate our six-month anniversary next month. Yes! Yes! Really? Before we were married, we dated for about eight years, and she was always big on the six-month markers. Oh, yeah. Every girl is. When you date, yeah. 7th grade, real good. Been together six weeks, seven weeks. But now that we're married, I feel like that kind of stuff... Just has to go out the window. I mean, we're still getting wedding gifts from people. How can I delicately tell her that we're married? Maybe you should have broke the six-month rule when you were dating. Yeah, good call. How do I tell her that you don't celebrate the half-year marks? That's M1 newlywed. Well, I've said this before. I'll say it again. Why are you surprised, dude? Yes. Why are you, I mean, you know. You did it when you were dating. Yeah, you know. But even if you had, I mean, you know this woman. She probably celebrates her half birthday. Yeah. Oh, my God. Of course. Oh, my God. It's not her fault. It's not your, listen, you knew this going in. You know who, you know, you know, you know. Well, he was probably hoping it would subside. Like, okay, you know, we've got the little hash marks halfway there. That's cute. Cute.

He was 92. 92, okay. Did we say that Senator Byrd had been in a former KKK member? No, we did not. Did we say that? We didn't say that? That wasn't mentioned. Yes, he had been in the KKK. Nice. Did Bill Clinton just justify him being in the KKK? You be the judge. He did.

Camp Pendleton on the southbound side, that 5 southbound between Oceanside Harbor Drive and Birmingham Drive. It's pretty slow for you. It's in the mid-20s.
For the 163 southbound between Washington Street and the 5, we've got slow traffic in the mid-40s. This report brought to you by Advil. Spend less time lying awake with annoying aches and pains. A little more time to sleep with Advil PM. I'm Stacey Cohen, FM 94.9. It's time for the FM 94.9 Authentic Surf Report. Good morning to you. This is Bird from Dragon Eyewear with the FM 94.9 Authentic Surf Report on a Tuesday morning being brought to you by Guayaquil Yerba Mate. Might want to have a nice warm cup of that this morning because it is kind of nippy out there. And we do have some funky south winds to greet you. Other than that, though, there still is some surf on the water as that southwest swell has reached its peak. Still dominant. Touch of west-northwest crossing it up. Both spots running in that waist chest. Inconsistent shoulder-high zone. Top areas head-eye plus still on occasion. That will taper off throughout the day. And unfortunately, south winds once again are on it. So that continues to be the spoiler. Seems to be what we've been having for about the last three months.
Got to deal with it once again. Again, kind of smaller, the protected areas from that south swell. Those top spots seem to have had I-plus that ways on occasion. Water tamp kind of dropped back down to the lower 60s as well. So pick and choose corners today, dodge the winds and watch the tides. For up-to-the-minute surf reports forecast, go to surfline.com. And for everything you need in order to go surf, check out what a south coast surf shop's five locations or go online at south coast. This surf report is brought to you, of course, by Guayaki Yerba Mate. And more importantly, it can only be heard three times daily right here on FM 94.9. This has been the FM 94.9 Authentic Surf Report. And now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. I don't have any, you know, athletic ability. Lauren. I was a bit of a pyro when I was a kid. I knew how it worked. I knew how destructive it was. I still started fires on the reg. Woods. I don't like to be tickled because I squeal like a little girl. I love cruises. And Jay. I'm wearing Dockers right now. On FM 94.9. Number one alternative song in the country is the Black Keys. It's called Brothers. Welcome back. So I said that a little bit may have been an education for if you didn't know. Senator Byrd, he died last week. He was in his 90s. He was a very, very old guy. He was a former KKK member. Wow.
At his eulogy, many people spoke, including Bill Clinton and even President Obama spoke at his eulogy. And the question was, did Bill Clinton justify him being in the KKK? Now, before I even play this clip, I'm going to tell you that he goes on to say that Senator Byrd admitted that this was a mistake. And about changing his life. But does Bill Clinton justify him being in the KKK? There are a lot of people who wrote these eulogies for Senator Byrd in the newspapers. And I read a bunch of them. And they mentioned that he once had a fleeting association with the Ku Klux Klan. And what does that mean? I'll tell you what it means. By the way, if you're in the KKK, I don't know that it's fleeting. I mean, you're in the KKK. You know what I mean? Yeah.
For about a month, you think that Miley Cyrus is cute? That's a fleeting little crush that you had, and whatever. But if you're in the Ku Klux Klan, if you put the sheet on, I don't know that it's fleeting, you know? You got initiated. You know, you're in there. He was a country boy from the hills and hollows of West Virginia. He was trying to get elected. Oh, boy. And maybe he did something he shouldn't have done. Oh, boy, he's right. And he spent the rest of his life making it up. And that's what a good person does. I agree, by the way. Bill, I agree that that is what a good person does. If you do something wrong and you make amends, that's great. I agree. My question was, maybe we just leave that out. We don't justify it. You know what I mean? I mean, maybe we don't say, well, here's why he did it. He was trying to get elected. It was kind of okay until he said he was, well, he's doing it for the votes. Yeah, you know, he was just trying to get elected. Because, I mean, if you grow up in the South during that time, 92 years ago, I mean, it was a different time then. Sure. And sometimes it's all that you know, and maybe he was young and he made a mistake, and that could be like, okay, we could skip over that and see why he did it. Well, I mean, if that's true, that it was for the votes, that would mean that maybe.
your opponent took the opposite viewpoint. Now, why was he doing it? Oh, my gosh. Was he doing it for the votes or was he doing it because it was the right thing? Because it's the right thing. You know what I mean? And if he was doing it because it's the right thing, what does that say about the guy you're eulogizing? I'm just saying. I'm guessing that Bob Bird probably would not want that in his eulogy. It would probably be a time he'd like to skip over. Damn it. Maybe you leave that part out. Yeah. 570-1949 is our number. Do you celebrate the six-month mark in your relationships? 570-1949. M1 Maria from San Diego. Hi. Hi, guys. Good morning. How are you? Great. How are you? Now, this is a safe tree. You're in the safe tree.
I don't know. Yeah. Even Lauren, even Lauren and Sienna just looked at me like, is it? So one of the reasons why I'm calling is because I've been dating my boyfriend for four years now. And at the beginning of our relationship, I found myself having to beg him pretty much to take me out to celebrate or just to take me out on a date pretty much. I started using the excuse of the six months in order for him to take me out, you know, to a nice dinner. Not even, like, a whole entire celebration or a carriage ride. And that worked the opposite to a guy that doesn't like celebrating. The answer is, well, I know how I'll fix that. I'll have him celebrate more. Well, maybe he should, I don't know, maybe she's saying he's pretty low-key and doesn't want to go on fancy dinners just for no reason. Well, actually, that's the thing. I think it just became to a point where he was just clueless. And it was my fault because I didn't tell him, you know what, actually, this means the world to me if, you know, we go out on dates more often. But, you know, instead of me actually talking to him, I would proceed with the half a year celebrations in order to be able to treat it out. And it's weird. I mean, now we don't do it. Now he does it on his own. Is it enough that he just says nice things to you?
Hair, beautiful hair. Does it tell you how much she loves you? Do you think it should at least be acknowledged? Because I'm thinking, yeah. No. Wait, wait. It's the first six months, though. Like, no to a year in six months, no to two years in six months, et cetera. But maybe just the first six-month mark of your marriage is, I think, maybe worth celebrating. By acknowledging it, Tiana, do you mean, hey, babe, we've been married for six months today. That's what I see as acknowledgement. Yeah, that's acknowledgement. Maybe a little celebration. No! Oh, my gosh. Better make the Donovan's reservation. Here we come. Six months coming up. No, I don't know. I don't really see anything wrong. I agree with Woods. It's like eighth grade. I feel like we're in eighth grade. I wouldn't see anything wrong with it if someone went and, you know, like if Sienna got Todd a card or whatever or like. I wouldn't even do that. I wouldn't be like, you're ridiculous. Of course. But I wouldn't expect it. I would be. I wouldn't expect gifts. I'd be like, you're ridiculous. But I think a nice dinner is not bad. Nothing wrong with a dinner. Lauren wouldn't. Lauren does not celebrate those things. No, I do. I do, I do, I do. You do? So do you celebrate birthdays? No, that's not true. You don't celebrate Valentine's Day. Valentine's Day is the made up bit. She thinks Valentine's Day is made up and there's no reason to celebrate it. St. Valentine. Yeah. Begged to differ. What did he do?
Created love. Shot the bow and arrow. He worked for Hallmark. Can I just discuss Woodsy's new spittoon? Really? Woodsy has a new spittoon. You don't worry about it. You can't see it? This one's the weirdest one I've ever seen. It's a little glass Martinelli apple. That's apple juice comes in. Can I talk about all your jewelry and stuff? No. Yes, you do. All your fancy jewels. Yes, you say easy. I just got blinded by a watch. What is he spitting into a little perfume bottle? Well, I saw him this morning. He came with reserves. He had two little apple juice bottles like a child next to his seat. I bring those in. They're delicious apple juices. And I saw one of them finish and I was like trying to be the mother hen of the station. I was like, oh, I'm going to put that in the recycling. And then I thought to myself, I bet. He's saving that for a little. Of course. Absolutely. Of course. That's a new one. I have not seen you use that yet. That is a new one. That's a new one. It's real pleasant. Delicious. 570-1949 if you have a question for Woodsy. Well, I know you need your words, your wisdom. Come on. Relationships. Yeah, he can fix them. Woodsy. Woodsy. Woodsy. Woodsy. Dropping out advice for free.
What's he, our guy's guy? He is. I mean, the guy's spitting into a little spittoon right now doing his snuff real good. A little apple juice, sippy cup. A little apple juice. But the guy is, he is a guy's guy. And he's also been known to do fairly well with the ladies. His mom and dad are in the studio today. I have to, will your mom talk to me? I don't know, let's see. Will she come on the air? She's so cute. She's the best. She brought me a baby present. I have a genuine question here. Is it kind of cool as a mom that the ladies love your, you know, if the ladies dig your son? Absolutely. It is cool, right? It is cool. I would think that would be cool. Like if my sons grew up and like all the girls dug them, I think I would like that. Be proud, yeah. I'd be like, look at that, my son. But I love my daughter.
You do. Because I didn't want any girls to like him. No, I know, but I mean, as he was growing up, I've always known him as being, and that's why we do Woods of Wisdom, because he's always been pretty good with the ladies. The ladies love Woodsy. Is your head getting any bigger right now, Woods? And I just wonder, because as a mom, I wonder if you're like biting your nails over it or if it's cool. No, I think it's cool. It's cool, right? All right, well, let's give some of these questions to Woodsy, and you can call if you want. 570. She just kissed him. Give me a kiss. So stinking cute. 570-1949. Oh, by the way, we're going to be doing some Woods on Sports in a little bit. That's going to be a little bit different. Yes. Woods' dad. Yes. M1 Hawk. Gary Woods on Sports. That's right. It's going to be great. So that's coming up. All right. So the first question. Woods, I've been at the gym working out at night lately. And I've seen the same girl in there a few times. She's drop-dead gorgeous about my age. I'm usually a pretty shy guy, but I'm feeling gutsy enough to take a chance. Only thing is, I'm not sure how to approach her. The catch is, I'm only 20. I'm home from college. And I'm currently living at my parents' house to save some coin. Not much upside here. I know when she walks in, every guy does a few extra reps.
And I don't want to be that guy who talks to the girls at the gym. Every time I leave the gym, I kick myself for not approaching her. What should I do and how should I break the ice? M1 Beach Night. What's he? Well, you're in a tough one, man, because the gym is, well, for guys like me, not a place I want to try to meet girls. But if you are feeling gutsy enough to walk up. Don't walk up with some lame workout bit. Like, so you're doing this. Let me show you the right way to do it. Don't do anything lame like that gym-oriented. Do something like, hey, I see you in here a lot. We're always usually here at the same time. Would you want to get a drink? Maybe go to dinner? Just something casual. Keep it casual. The problem is, you better hope she's got her own place, pal, because you're going to look like a dork trying to take her home to mom and dad. He's just coming home from college. I think you have to go up and talk to her. You're dumb if you don't. And here's the deal. You're going back off to school, so who cares if she says no? Yeah. Just play the truthful card. You go, hey, listen, would you like to come back to my mom's house? Yeah. No, take her out somewhere. And have her make a grilled cheese sandwich for the both of us. Take her out. Take her out right off the bat. My mom can make some great bologna sandwiches. No, it doesn't. You don't have to focus on that. What if we go back to my place?
And my mom makes us some chocolate milk. She may live at home with her parents. I did. I moved back home. Maybe she does. You give it a shot. You got to give it a shot. Home from college. Great. A friend of mine met one of his girlfriends at the gym and. After a couple weeks of seeing each other at the same time, she had to come up to him. Really? And say, so are you ever going to ask me out? Wow. That's a power move. She walked up to a stranger and said that? Yeah. Well, they had built more of a rapport than this couple. They said hi. Yeah. They had talked a few times. He actually worked at the gym. That is a gutsy girl. She could have cried and maybe gone to her car. He'd be like, well, I was thinking about it. Lauren did. Remember Lauren that time? That you're at the mall? No, I don't know what you're talking about. And the black dude at the kiosk called you over? You went and said hi to him? Turns out he was just trying to sell me a phone. Yeah, you asked him out on a date. Yep. He said, sorry, I have a girlfriend. You cut it off like it was a bit. I backpedaled. I'm like, sister, father for the Mikey show. That's right. And then she went to her car. Went to her car and cried. I hate being single. It feels good to have a little cry. Sometimes it does, right?
This one says, Woods, I'm in college. There's a guy in my class I've known the past couple semesters. Now, this is a guy writing in. He says, Woods, I'm in college. There's a guy in my class I've known the past couple semesters. Ask him out. No. He says, he started out being a cool guy. And we were friends at school, but we never hung out outside of school. He has a serious girlfriend, and they plan on getting married. He told me a few months ago. that when they do get married, he wants me to be his best man. He says, it's starting to creep me out. For example, he tells me when he gets married and we're out of school, we're going to get rich and live next door to each other and own a business. He tells people, me and Kay are best friends. Oh, sounds like Frankie. Yeah. First of all, I don't see anything wrong with it. He says, if I'm sitting in class, there's not a seat next to me. He'll get mad and ask the person next to me. No way! Quote, can I please sit next to my best friend? I can't see tools like Mikey and Woods. Oh my gosh. Really? This is weird. He says, it's embarrassing and I don't even like the dude that much anymore. It's getting creepy and the list goes on. I can't just get away from him or tell him to hit the road buzzard because we're in the same class every day.
What do I do here, Woods? M1K. What do you do, Woods? Dude, you have to lay it down right now. If it takes longer, it's going to get worse. How do you say it? It's not going to get better. It's like a relationship. If your girl's crazy when you meet her, it ain't going to get better. It's going to get worse. So what do you say? So you need to go to him and be like, hey, dude, you need to be as straight up man time as you've ever been. But did you even just get kind of uncomfortable? Yeah. Oh, it would be super uncomfortable. It would be like. I would have to pull, I'd be a D. Really? Let me just wait for the semester to be over. Like maybe tough it out, but I'd be like, hey, dude, I'm not your best man. We don't even know each other. Like you're weird. Like I would have to be a giant D about it. You can't say no to him asking to be the best man. Yes, you can. You don't even know him. So what? He doesn't have any friends, clearly. Sucks for him. That's mean. I know plenty of people that have been the best man and been like, what am I doing standing up here? I've never met anybody that has been a best man. God, they just don't have, you know, the strong brohood. Have you ever seen I Love You, Man? Yeah, it's a movie. Yeah. And that's an uncomfortable thing. That's uncomfortable, man. Well, it is, but it's like. It's like single white male. Would you rather do something nice for someone who doesn't have anyone else? Like, just do it. That's not nice. That's weird. Like, hey, we're going to live next door to each other. It is. That part's weird. He would be the best man. He would be nice to accept being a best man. This guy doesn't obviously have anyone else. Or you'd just lie.
I'm out of town that weekend. You don't know what weekend it is. Yeah, you find out. Oh, dude, I've got a golf tournament I'm playing at. We'll move the wedding. I want you to be there. You're my best man. Maybe you're just there for your friend, man. You ever think about that? Maybe just being there for the guy? It's not your friend, though. They're friends. They're not friends. What if the dude's even videotaping your baseball games? Try to help you. Really? Go over film and stuff. I don't need it. Work out some knots in your muscles. Yeah, great. Real sweetly, even all that, you're not going to be cool to them then, man? No, because they're not buddies. They sit next to each other in class. He said that there were buddies. That's like me walking out in the hallway and grabbing somebody from Kayson and being like, hey, you want to be the best man at my wedding? I don't know who this guy. No, it's different. I just did that with Clint. Is that weird? That is weird. 5701949 if you want to ask Woodsy a question. All right. This one from M1 SoCal. Woodsy, of all the pickup lines you've ever used, do you have a go-to or something new and original? M1 SoCal. Oh.
You're damn right I do. Oh, no. I didn't know you had a go-to. No, I don't have a go-to. Well, I'm a married man. Back in the day. No, I have one I've created. You created? I will give the single girl stamp of approval on this. I told L.O.B. She loved it. Am I going to do it to L.O.B.? I'm going to blush. We're at a bar. We're at a bar. Because that's pretty much where I've met every girl I've ever dated. So I will go up to her and say, Excuse me. Would you step outside with me for one second? Why? Because I didn't want to tell our future children that I met their mother in a bar. Oh. Dumb. You don't like that one? No. It's brilliant. I think any pickup line is dumb. Just talk to the girl. But it gets you to laugh a little bit. I'm a big, I am huge on sense of humor. Icebreaker. Icebreaker. Yeah. 5701949. That's a good one. And you can say to him, that's.
That's super cheesy. Yeah, I know this. But it's like, yeah, I got you to smile, though. Absolutely. Hey, listen, maybe the girls call us right now. They tell us the ones that have worked the best. Can I cook for you? No. That wouldn't work. M1 Woody from El Cajon, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. You were calling about the other topic, right? The thing about celebrating? Yeah. How often do you celebrate anniversaries of your wife? Every month. Oh, God. Oh, my gosh. Wow. You're a saint. Every month? What do you do? All we do is we recognize it. Oh. How? We say happy anniversary. So how many, you guys on like 83 months now? Why is that bad? Mike, you have your jaw wide open. Because I think it's a lot of work. Just remembering a day? Do you say how many months it is? I like it. We've been doing it for 14 years. How many months? How many months? How many months? I can't do that. They don't do the months thing. He just says happy anniversary. Happy anniversary. Just acknowledge it. Mikey, what's your anniversary? Quick. Tenth. Of? February. Sometimes we'll miss it and we'll see it the next day. When's yours, Woods? November 2nd. You know that. Wow. See? So then every second and every 10th, you guys just say, happy anniversary, babe. I mean, that's the cutest. Mine's October 31st. Halloween. If my wife did that, it would drive me crazy. Drive me batty. Yeah, but if he's on board with it, like he's on board with it, obviously. And, you know, it's not like he needs to go buy a gift. I would say, if my wife had made that a thing, I would very, very kindly say, hey, babe.
You know what we don't have to do? Yeah. And it's totally okay. We don't have to say happy anniversary. Yeah. Veto. I veto the whole thing. She can't get mad if you forget, though, because that is hard every month. Oh, my God. Just try. Try and remember. It's an exhausting thing. You guys. Let's see. Oh, man. One of the best hamburger joints in San Diego is getting a new location. I don't care who you are. You want to know. You want to know. Yep. My wife, vegetarian. Pulled the In-N-Out cheese only in the In-N-Out burger. Real cheese? Yeah. She's still sticking to the vegetarian bit. I'm impressed. Wow. Yeah, she's still vegetarian. That's been months. Ticket number two with onion, no tomato. Oh, and no beef. Mikey Show now. 570-1949. Or text 949mikey at gmail.com.

The first one's some sort of chemistry lab manual. It's S-sulfane, potassium, hexamethosetophane, phenylkananaritics, I don't know. Apparently all these ingredients
are found in your leading iced teas and sodas, many of which are calling themselves all natural in quotes. Yeah. Not so much. These are so-called ingredients that they say are coming from the earth and they're organic. I don't think so. Here's another list of ingredients I have. It's purified water, organic green tea leaves, organic cane sugar, organic honey. That's more like it to me. That's organic. That's refreshing. It's natural. It's an overturned pickup truck on the right shoulder. Container came off the back of the truck, and it's blocking eastbound lanes. It looks like there's a whole bunch of debris across the road.

Oh, my gosh. They're so delicious. Now, we all know Hodads in OB on Newport Drive, Newport Avenue. Are they leaving? No. They're going to be staying there. But people are unsure because Hodads, it's like there's surfboards all over the wall. It's very beachy. Yeah. And they're moving it. They're going to have a Hodads 2 downtown. It's great. Now, it's not going to be in the fancy gas lamp area. It's going to be about five blocks away on Broadway and 10th Avenue. Yeah. And it's going to be opening the beginning of the fall. When you see a line out a door, there's a reason. It's good. Yeah, it's so good. I spent about four and a half hours on 10th Avenue as I was heading down to the Padres game the other day. So I got to see the new location for about two hours of that four and a half hours as I was sitting in traffic. It's great for people that work down there. It's great for, I'm going to hit it. We'll hit it all the time. Before and after the games? Absolutely. People will be trucking from the gas lamp at late night all the way over there to get some burgers for sure. I saw, speaking of downtown.
We were talking about this off the air. I told this story off the air. I went to have lunch with a friend downtown last week. And we saw a guy finding a box to put a cat in. What? Because the cat was injured. You didn't tell us this? You did not tell anyone. I told you guys about that. Yeah. No, you didn't. I didn't? No. I would remember this. Yeah. I remember the cat in a box story. Guy was putting a cat in a box. And I know what it was about. He's going to take it to the vet and take care of it. And I mean, here's the thing. It's very noble. It's very sweet. And it is different than calling because you have options. You could either A, not do anything about it. B, take matters into your own hands. Or C, you could call animal control and they can come out and help the animal. But I remember back in the day, Sky did that with a cat and it cost her, I think, Like $1,000 or something? Yeah. And it costs a lot of money. A friend of mine, too, one time saw a dog get hit on the freeway. She pulled over off the side of the freeway, ran out, got the dog. This is a girl who was in high school at the time. Threw the dog in the back of her little cabrio and took it to the vet. She paid thousands. Easy. Holy cow. Easy to save this dog. Saved its life. How is that not like a county hospital? Like something that...
For dogs? For the indigent? Yeah, because if you saw someone hurt on the side of the road and you took them to the hospital, you're not paying their medical bills. That's true. I don't really know why. She ended up keeping the dog. Absolutely. Because no one knew whose it was. She paid thousands of dollars for it. She might as well keep it. A miracle. They probably figure it's... cheaper to euthanize since we don't have taxpayer dollars. How much have you guys spent? What's the most you guys ever spent on a pet? Who are you talking to? Woods, I'm sure. Woods, of course, right? The combined what we paid for a lot of our pets is pretty expensive, but the maintenance is astronomical. Shots, checkups. I just had to put a dog down not too long ago. And I hate the way the vets do it now. It's full on there. Well, it doesn't look like he's going to make it, but Here's an estimate. They slide a piece of paper like I'm buying a car. Here's what we think it's going to cost. Oh, my gosh. And I'm like, well, you know, he's a great dog, but here are the reasons why. He had some kind of autoimmune disease and all these things going on. So I was like, I think I'm just going to put him down. They're like, okay, well, here's another estimate that we think would maybe. They're bargaining. Are we bargaining?
Oh, my gosh. To save the dog? Yeah, and then finally, so I was like, no, we're not going to go through all this. Because I said, well, it's going to be $1,000 for this procedure. And then it's going to be $800 for him to stay. And then this and that. And I was like, okay, we're just going to let him go. We're going to, you know, let him go. We're crying. And she calls me up. She goes, well, we went ahead and did the operation after we put him down. And, yeah, it was not any good. I'm like, well, you did the operation. Anyway, why didn't you do it before you put him down? Why didn't you do it for free? Yeah. Were they doing it for giggles? Oh, I would have been furious. For teaching purposes? No, there was nobody else in there. They wanted to see if it would have worked. So if it would have, they would have called you and said, well, could have saved him. How could you see post-mortem if that would have worked? Way to go, cheapskate. Maybe they see how bad it was. Maybe they open him up and they go. Oh, it was so bad it wouldn't have made a difference. But the call. But why not try if they're going to do it anyway while he's still alive? That was my point. Why put him down in bin? Yeah. And they call me and tell me, oh, yeah, yeah, hey, good. Oh, I would have sued him. Oh, baby. Well, we've had to take Penny to the emergency room a couple times.
Sonny went to the emergency room, had to stay over, get an IV. Senior beans. Senior beans. Senior beans. Yeah, we did. I gave him a tiny piece of a curly fry. And for something in it, the spices or something sent him over the edge. What happened? He had something. I can't remember what it was called. What was the reaction? Vomiting. Vomiting, vomiting, vomiting. He couldn't take the spiciness? He couldn't take it. Senior beans. Senior beans. You would think that he had some Latin in there. Yeah. Our cat, Jules, Rebecca had to take him to the vet because he ate a Mylar balloon. Oh, no. No, no, no. Wait, he didn't eat a Mylar balloon. You know what he ate? He ate the string they tied to the Mylar balloons that you hold the Mylar balloons on. And it tied itself in his intestines. Oh, my God. Poor baby. That's why we pick those up off the beaches when we see them people. How much? Oh, $2,000. Yeah. My parents had to spend three. Or he was going to die. Yeah. You have to. So you're like, oh, well, I can't let him die, so I'll come up with two grand. My parents had to spend three on kidney stones for their little Bichon. I spent three on my dad's kidney stones. It's insane. I got to get pet insurance. I've got to. Five dogs, bro. Five. Well, this is exactly why you need it. You said I wouldn't spend that on my dad's because he's got insurance, so he's got to.
deductible or copay or whatever. This is kind of crazy. One of my neighbors was walking his dog on the beach and the dog ate a fish hook on the sand, like a little fish hook. And the guy watched him swallow it. He's like, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, like new. I mean, that thing's got to come out and it's going to rip in his intestines and everything and just be awful. So he's calling vets, calling vets, trying to get all the help. They were saying, you know, five grand for an operation, just ridiculous amounts of money. And so finally he called this one vet and he said, you know what you should do is just put a bunch of yarn in the dog food. And just hope that he eats the yarn. And the dog did. Gobbled it all down. And his next bowel movement, there was a fish hook completely wrapped in yarn. Genius. Completely wrapped around the fish hook. What a cool vet. Isn't that amazing? Totally free. Gave him brilliant advice and it worked. And saved the dog. I bet that that will come back and be good for that vet that was cool. Absolutely. M1 Joey.
on the line. Are you there, Joey, from Temecula? What's up? Oh, okay. My mom took my grandmother's dog to the vet. He had about three teeth that were not doing very well. That was what I originally thought was going to happen. Well, when we got the dog back, they pulled 16 teeth. Oh, ow. One six. A dog has a total of 46 teeth. He doesn't have like, I believe, 36. Well, no. Less than that. But anyways... It was going to be $400 total. They wanted $1,200, but they didn't even call us and let us know that they were going to pull about... So they just did it and threw the bill at you? Wow. Yeah, basically. And what do you do after that? Is it a racket? What do you mean? Vets. No. Like a mechanic. No. Is it a racket? No, it's not a racket. It is not a racket? Mm-mm. Sure sounds like a racket. Have you guys been to the dentist recently? Is that a racket? Oh, yeah. I got upsold for two hours in this lady's office. I don't, like... I've never had a cavity before. Is he perfect now? Well, when I go to the dentist and they're like, there's a couple soft spots back there. I'm like, no, there's not. That's a bit. I leave. Just leave. Yeah, I got up. I had a cavity of tooth and I go, just pull it. It's a back tooth. I was like, pull it. And they're like, we really need to put a $9,000 crown on it. I was like, I don't need a crown. It's my back tooth. Pull it. Oh, wow. You pulled a tooth out instead of figuring it out? Is it still out? Yeah. Let me see.
Just tie it to a string and slam the door or what? They pulled it out. It is helpful. But that was like $200. To pull it? Yeah. They wanted to go for the five grand crown and root canal. I'm like, dude, it's my back tooth. Pull it. What if it's a racket? No, it's not. It's really actually very difficult to become a veterinarian. I'm sure. There's only a few schools in the country. Well, I'm sure that's the deal. That doesn't mean I ain't a racket. I don't know if it's a wreck. I'm just listening to these stories and I'm going... That's scary that they would do something like that and not even ask you or give you a call beforehand. Jay had a dude negotiating with him. But that might have been one corrupt doctor. I don't think as a practice it's a racket. I think that they've got a love for animals. They would rather not euthanize them. I wonder if a hundred vets just looked at their speaker and went, isn't it? Isn't it? I don't know though, man. I know a vet that's a very good vet that would dole out free advice if it meant... saving a pet over making money. We get a lot of those things like, remember, it's time for Sonny's nine-day checkup and his nine-day... It's checkup. But here's the thing that you guys forget. I'll do the checkup. Let me look at Sonny. Sonny's great. It's a business just like everybody else, but I don't think that they make up things. You don't. You're very trusting. I'm not very trusting. That's the thing.
I just don't think you would become a vet unless you were an animal lover, and I don't think an animal lover could just sit there and watch. I don't think an animal lover would want to make thousands of dollars every year. No, they would. Wouldn't they? On, like, maintenance things like that, but I don't think if it came to life or death, they would, like, scam the money. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I took a look at the dog, and so he needs an operation. It's going to cost $5,000. That's insane. You know what, though? You keep your little sweetheart here. Your little Penny Bell. I think there's a few bad apples for sure, but I think overall as a practice, I don't think that's good. That would be such a hard job to be a vet. Yeah. It'd be awful. You just work with nothing but the sweetest little innocent faces. Sweet little angels. Little hurt angels. Listen to this. Get your guys' temperature on this. Tell me what you think. This is, uh, this kind of irritated me. Every time I talk about Miley Cyrus, I get nervous. Why? Because I know you're going to just berate me. Because you get filleted for it? I get filleted for it. Rightfully so. You're a 40-year-old man. 40-year-old man. I feel like a creep because I find the music so catchy. She's a talented artist, Mike. Is she? She is. Van Gogh was a talented artist. Yeah. She's a turd. She's a performer. I find her music really catchy. Okay. What does Wood say? So's Gunneria, pal. So's Gunneria, pal. Doesn't mean it's good for you. How dare you? It's so hard for me to remain true.
to Miley Cyrus when she says these things. Listen to this. Oh, no. Good. I hope you're out. Girls are immediately going to say, oh, she's trying to sell sex. Well, I love Zac Efron, but what's he selling? He's gorgeous. He's hot. I don't go see his movie because I'm like, he is such a fantastic actor. Like, I think he's hot, so I'm going to go see his movie. Is that her? She sounds like Joan Rivers. How old is she? She's like 17. I'm 17, Lauren. Really? Her voice is very beyond her years. Yeah, it's a very deep voice. What's wrong with that? It's not deep. It's like... Hickish. Sounds like a hillbilly. It just sounds like a weathered woman. Why don't we all be nice to this poor teenager? Well, here's the deal. I'll tell you what my issue is with what she said. This is going to irritate many people, Lauren especially. The deal is, is that there is a stigma. If you're a girl and you sleep with a lot of guys, the stigma is that you're a flooze. If you're a guy and you sleep with a lot of girls. You're still a hooah. Are you? But that's not really the stigma. You're like the man. You're the man. Not, by the way, that I think that we look to culture to decide what's right and wrong. Because I think we don't. That's stupid. In my opinion. And it's stupid. But this is what I don't like about what Miley said. Well, it's okay for me to go out there and dress like a stripper.
And knowing full well that my audience is 12-year-olds, it's cool. And the reason that it's cool is because that's what Zac Efron does. And sex sells. That's not what Zac Efron does. And sex sells. And it isn't what Zac does. Her point was this. I can go out and dress like a stripper because Zac Efron is good looking. Yes. What does that mean? That means nothing. It means, you know what it means? It means, how come they don't call Zac on it, but they call me? I'm a victim here. He's not wearing pantyhose and dancing around like an idiot. Yeah. She was trying to say that there's a double standard. Double standard. There's not. There's not. There is a double standard. There is. There absolutely is. There is not. Okay, who's going to make fun of A.C. Slater? Let's talk about somebody. No, look at. Let's talk about somebody irrelevant. Look at Jacob. His little wrestling outfit. Look at Team Jacob, Taylor Lautner, whatever. He has his shirt off more than it's on, and nobody is like, what a little skank. He always has his shirt off. He's only 16, 17, however old he is. People are like, what? We don't make the rules, LLB. But I'm saying, is it not a double standard? Yes, it is. It is. It absolutely is.
Is it weird, though, like if a guy takes his shirt off, it's not the same as a girl taking her shirt off? No, it's not. But how much more could he? I mean, he could still be in a Speedo. Look at David Beckham. He's all over the place in Speedos. We don't call him a Hua. Is he? He's an underwear model. He's an underwear model. Hoo, yeah, Armani. Yeah, absolutely. Great call. Listen to them. Oh, yeah. Yeah, but that's what we do. We all go, oh, yeah. But it's not like, ew, look at him. What a skank. I'm in such a conundrum with it because what I want to say is, well, that's because our culture accepts that. But I can't do that because then I put myself in a, I box myself into something that I don't like, which is that we're supposed to look to our culture for what's right and wrong, which I don't believe. Well, if you stop to think about it, you can say, yeah, there is a double standard. But worldwide, women are taught to cover up a lot more. You know, in some cultures, you can't show anything besides your eyes. This is what I think Miley Cyrus meant because she and Zac Efron share a similar, you know, demographic. All the people that like them are relatively young. However, parents criticize Miley Cyrus for showing skin. But when Zac Efron shows skin, parents let their kids put posters on their bedroom walls. It's because I'm sorry, world, but Zac Efron isn't thought of as slutty.
That's because it's a double standard. It's not. Yes, it is. Miley Cyrus isn't getting caught doing things. It's just totally her image that people are against. She's trying to say Zac Efron's doing the same thing. She's covering the privates. Zac Efron's covering the privates. Is she? But he's taking his shirt off. Her belly and her legs. Those aren't private parts. Like a bathing suit. And Zac Efron can be in a bathing suit on a girl's wall. I think it's definitely sexy and racy and a little bit too racy for someone of her age. But I agree there's a double standard. M1 Bug from Rancho Bernardo. Hey, I think here's the difference is women have to sell sex in order to sell their product, whatever it is. The S. And men don't. No, they don't. Sarah McLachlan. They kind of. Yeah, Sarah McLachlan. You're right. Seriously. Sorry. Millions of records. Yeah, but she's, you know, throughout the years. Oh, she's talented. That's the difference. Oh, my God. She's got talent. That's the difference. What about Natalie Portman? Does she have to use sex? To sell her product? No, she doesn't. Talented. But she did. Closer, she was like a... Oh, yeah, she's a little who in that movie. She was playing... But that movie was not like a... It wasn't like American Pie. But people got it. It was an artsy movie. Did you see Natalie Portman? Yeah. Oh, my God. A lot of women will do that in movies, I think. Yeah. I don't think she did anything wrong, but everyone at some point does realize, like, okay, if I've got the goods, maybe I'll flaunt them and maybe it'll... Again, talented. Yeah.
Super talented, Natalie Portman. She didn't have to do that to sell the movie. She would have been fine without it. 570-1949 is our number. Do you know who Bobby Fisher is? Oh, yeah. Chess guy. He just beat 190 opponents recently in the junior division of the 2010 Pokemon Video Game National Championship in Indianapolis. So now he's going to be moving on to Hawaii to go worldwide. It must be out of my generation thing because I don't even know what Pokemon is. I've never heard of it. Yeah, it's like a little game, video game, cards, collector's thing. Well, his alleged daughter, her name is Jinky Young, has requested a DNA test. Now, he died in 2008 and his body is in Iceland and they had to exhume him so that they could do a DNA test. And they did this yesterday. Why does she want to know? Because she says that she claims that she's his daughter and she wants to know.
You know, how else do you find out if that's her father? Definitely. You have to. What is she? I guess she wants to know because she wants to get money. So, yeah, there was a doctor and a priest and a bunch of people there while they did this. Yeah. That sounds creepy. He was 64 when he died in January of 2008. We're going to do something kind of cool. We've been wanting to do this for a long time. You know that we do Woods on Sports here. But M1 Hawk. Woodsy's dad is in the studio with us today. And we're going to allow him to live out kind of a sports fantasy here. We're going to do Woods on sports, but it's going to be different Woods. It's going to be the senior Woods this time, not the junior Woods. And it's his opportunity. This is so great. Love it. Hi, everyone. A little update on golf. The PGA Tour wrapped up the AT&T National in a rare mink. Pennsylvania, Justin Rose, an Englander, one of the hottest guys on Tours 1 with a score of 10 under par. He beat Ryan Moore by one shot. This was a tournament that Tiger set up a number of years ago to benefit his foundation, although Tiger didn't have such a good week. He, for the first time since 2007, didn't break par one day. Really? Finished 14 shots back of the winner. Woods? Woods, Junior Woods? Yeah.
He's good. Yeah. I'm not kidding. Maybe a little too good. Maybe better. He doesn't even have any notes. He doesn't have any notes. He's good. He's good. He does our golf bits. Yeah, seriously. I'm all in. Remote contact. Hey. Does he have any more, or is that the only story he's doing? I just told him to do one golf story. Dude. He could probably talk. What else is coming up? What's coming up soon? Well, the British Open's coming up, and Tiger's already in Ireland playing, getting tuned up for that. And it's going to be held at St. Andrews, which is one of his favorite courses, and it's wide open, so he should do really well. Is he going to figure it out? He actually is. I mean, he's hitting the ball well. His driver was really bad over the last couple months. He's got that figured out. He just didn't make any putts this week. Did you see what he shot in the Pro-Am? Yeah. What? Not good? Seven over. Oh. What's up? I mean, is it going to get fixed, though? You think it'll get fixed. Yeah. He's as good as it gets. And he's watching his own video of a swing a couple years ago when he was spot on. Right. So, you know, no teachers anymore. He's going to do it himself. Wow. Hey. That'd be money. M1 Hawk. Woo! Appreciate the time. I love it. He did great. I like it.
Isn't that fun? It's great. Hey, little one. Yo. Maybe you learned from your pops. Yeah. Maybe you learned from me. It's good. Just kidding. 570-1949. That was so great. I want to give female sound effects a try again. Yes. My favorite. This is where we get a couple of girls on the line, and they go against each other in sound effects. Hmm. I don't remember how we play it. Two verse each other. Two girls call in, yeah, and then we judge. When we judge. We give them a bunch of them. That's right. 570-1949. What do we got to give away? We're going to give them the new album from the Wigs. And Mikey. Why don't we pick girls? Because it's funny because they can't do sound effects of their mouth. I'm really good. I don't know what you're talking about. They get tickets to see the Wigs or the Wigs album? Wigs album. Wigs album. Catchiest song of this year. Great album. Great album. I was singing that during the commercial break. Yes, you were. 570-1949. Call us if you're a girl and you want to do girl sound effects. It's the best. You can do it, ladies. Yeah, give me one. I want to do them all the time. Okay. In the meantime, I got some other stuff that we'll do in the meantime while we're waiting for some girls to call us to do the female sound effects. And again, the Wigs album. That's what you can win.
You know what I want to talk about is this topic that came up when our boy Bark Malman was in town. Oh, boy. I know this one. How do you know? There's so many. Because I can read. I know it. He knows exactly. I know exactly what he's going to talk about. For me, I'd never heard this story, and it was a defining story about him. And I thought, you know, I bet a lot of people will have a story similar. I feel so bad for him. You guys talk about him all the time, and he never gets to defend himself. But his identity is concealed. That's not allowed. Yeah, and no one knows who he is. I mean, after all, I'm calling him Bark. Bark. You guys are changing two levels. That could be anyone. That's right. It could be anybody in Dallas that works somewhere else. We're not inverting anyone's name. It's just. Yeah, it could just be that his name was Bark. A lot of guys named Bark. When he was celebrating his 25th birthday in Texas. He went out with his boys and he tied one on pretty good. Real good. And he got in trouble. He was not driving. He was not driving. But a friend of his was driving and got in trouble. He ran a, well, he went through a red light. Oh, wow. Or a stop sign. Stop sign. Okay. Cop pulled him over, busted him. And Bark spent the night in jail. Do you remember what his friend said to the cop? Yes. That was the interesting part, too. Was his friend Stephen Wood? No, I was not there. His friend got in trouble.
because he was actually articulating pretty well, doing okay talking to the cop. But when he said to the cop that he wasn't familiar with San Antonio, and that's why he ran the stop sign, the cop had a problem since they were in Fort Worth at the time. Oh, my. True story. True story. I just don't know the streets of San Antonio that well. Where's the Alamo? Go ahead and get out of the car, son. You're coming with me. Yeah, night's over. Oh, my gosh. Genius. So anyway, Bark and he spent the night in jail. Now the next morning, his dad came to pick him up with his mom. Uh-huh. How lovely. Yeah. Nice little Sunday morning. That's right. They're German. German. German family. Straight from Germany. No way, really. Yes, yes. German family. Still have the accent? Yes, the right accent. That's right. And so Bark sees his mom crying.
And he's like, oh, no, you know, no. This is bad. He feels so bad, you know. He feels terrible. But he's an adult grown man. Right. Just celebrated his 25th birthday the night before. And his dad sees him, doesn't say anything. Now, you've got to kind of know a little bit about Bark. Bark is a very mature guy. He thinks he is. Well, he thinks he is. He is. And let me tell you, when he puts on the mature speak, he comes across very... Well put together and mature. He'll sell you real good. Oh, yeah. Sold me. So he got in the back seat. His mom is in the passenger seat. His dad is in the driver's seat. And they're driving home. Not fun. He says it's relatively quiet in the car as they're driving home. And his dad asks him, how's your friend? And Bark says, he's doing good, Dad. He says, what about you? Are you okay? Bark says, Yeah, Dad, don't worry about it. I took care of everything. Went ahead and paid the fine. Got out. Everything's going to be great. Because it was a misdemeanor. Didn't have much on me. It's going to be all right. Not even going to be on my record. Sounds good. Sounds so mature. So adult. You're sold. Yeah, if you're his dad, you're sold, right? Let him know it's not as bad as you think. It's not as bad as you think. And his dad says in the car with the windows rolled up, after a few moments tick by, big long pregnant pause after Bark wrapped that.
Sentence up. Well, I just hope you've learned your episode! Screamed at him. He says it reverberated in the car. His hair blew back. It was like the windows in the car shook. His mom was like, oh, wow. Now, when Bark was telling me this story, I didn't see that coming. In a million years. I mean, if you would have had me write down a million different possibilities of how that story was going to end, that is the last thing I thought he was going to say. I laughed so hard. I thought I blew one of my intestines out. I laughed so hard when he told that story. I hope you learned your epic lesson! I had a similar thing happen to me. You did? Yeah, my parents live in New Jersey. I live here. Hey. And when I went back for the Christmas holiday, I went out with some friends from high school. Really.
Tied one on, is that what you said? Yeah, tied one on. So I came back, and my parents are still like, when I come back, they want me to be back at a reasonable hour. They still set the alarm, and it's like, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, when I walk in the door. Lauren's a 30-year-old woman. 29. My... To be fair. Careful. To be fair, 29. This was this last December, right? It was like two Decembers ago or something. Still. Yeah. 28-year-old woman. Yeah, so... They want me to be in at a reasonable hour, and my mom says, I can't sleep until I know that you're home. Same bit. Mrs. Woods is pointing at herself. Mr. Woods is pointing at Mrs. Woods. Yeah, 35-year-old man. Does your mom do that? Yes. So does hers. Yeah. So I was out till 3 in the morning. Oh, boy. Came in. A little sauce. A little snockery. Yeah, a little snockery. And it was Christmas time. And we have, like, my mom every other year has a Christmas party with all of our relatives. There's, like, 50 to 75 people that come over. She makes all the food. She stresses out for, like, days. And she had all these, like, dishes that she had made. This is the day before Christmas Eve. Like, ready to go in there. So I go in there. And all I wanted was a pickle. So I go in and I get the pickle.
And somehow the refrigerator door, all the shelves fell and knocked over all the condiments, like everything. Glasses shattered. It made the biggest. Well, oh, I forgot to add this part. Before I went to get the pickle, I came in and my parents, my mom said, Lauren, is that you? I said, yeah. What time is it? Like 12. Even though it was 3 in the morning. See, she's playing into it. She's an adult woman saying, yeah, it's 12. I think it's like 12. So I go down to get the pickle. That happens. Everybody, they yell down, what happened? Oh, my God. My mom says, did you not? I'm like, no, no, no, it's fine. It's fine. My older brother, who's a couple years older than me, was sleeping in the basement, comes up and is like cracking up because there's condiments everywhere. And I'm trying to like wipe them up with a paper towel and I'm just smushing them everywhere. So he mops it up. Everything's taken care of. Well, about 10 minutes later, I decide I'm going to go back in there. Oh my gosh. Well, I just wanted to make sure that my mom, because she had also just cleaned the entire refrigerator because we were having company. She took everything out.
Cleaned it with a sponge, pine salt, the whole bit. So I went back in just to wipe. There was like a smudge of barbecue sauce on the shelf. So I went and I wiped it off with a sponge and it all fell again. No. Oh, my God. No. No. Made the huge bang. So now I hear my dad comes running down the stairs, looks at the clock, looks at me. What are you doing? I'm like, I was just getting a snack. And he said, as loud as you can, loud as you can say it. For three hours. The next, like every, you know, we still say it. But the next day, all at the Christmas party, they're like, for three hours. That's amazing. For three hours. We reverberated throughout the whole house. Oh, my God. Woodsy. Yeah. We've partially heard this story. What I didn't know was that she cascaded a bunch of stuff down there. I didn't know that she was drunk getting pickles. All the glass bottles broke. It was like a combination of salsa, pickle juice, Italian dressing, mayonnaise, all mixed together on the ground. I would have killed you. I think I'd have been mad too. I would have been like, get out of here. My brother's like, why did you go back? I'm like, I was trying to clean.
Idiot. Because I remembered some barbecue sauce. My nice brother took a mop, like cleaned up the whole thing and was like, now go to bed. And I was like, okay. Oh my gosh. That is nuts. Okay. Well, call us if you have. Here's the stories I'm looking for. You're an adult. And you have a story about your parents doing your 16-year-old deal on you. Yeah. But you're an adult. Yep. The reason, they're hysterical. They're hysterical to me. Hearing an adult getting scolded like a kid is funny. It's just always funny. That bark moment, I'll never forget that. It's the best. It's the greatest. Every time I see him, I'm like, tell me the story. Tell me the story. And you know what I asked? My first question to him was, when he yelled like that, what did you do? How did you react to that? And he said, I stayed dead quiet. Dead quiet. I did too.
Of course. And then the next morning I woke up in my high school bedroom in my twin bed and I was like, oh man, I'm in trouble. Oh my gosh. And then you're like, am I? No, but all day it was like, yeah. You getting a nice little snack last night? Some little hungover? Oh my gosh. I was like, no, I feel fine. I feel great. I'm like mad for your parents right now. I would have killed you. Yeah. Oh, my gosh. And twice? Twice. Like, the first time, I bet one of her parents was talking the other down. Yes. And saying, it's okay. It's fine. That was like a 13-year-old move. Yes. But the second time? Yeah. Okay, well, the first time, the problem was my mom cleaned the refrigerator and she didn't put the shelf back in right. So it fell. Mom's fault. Mom's fault. Yeah, clearly. No one else managed to do that. That's amazing. All right, let's do chick sound effects. Emma and Puppet from Chula. Chula Vista? Yeah, hello. You're going to be going against M1 Phoebe from Fallbrook. Are you there, Phoebe? Yeah, I'm here. Okay, cool. Now, we're going to judge the two of you on your sound effects, okay? The reason we do this is because chicks can't do sound effects with their mouth. Nope. And when they do try, it's funny. And so we're going to give you guys sound effects and vote on who gets best out of five. Are you ready? Ready. M1 Puppet from Chula Vista, you will begin.
Let me hear your elephant. Oh, wow. Oh, wow. M1 Phoebe. Okay, wait. Elephant. It's like trying to start a lawnmower. Let me hear it again. Okay. Sienna, puppet or Phoebe? Whoever just did that last one. That was Phoebe. Yeah, that was good. What's Phoebs? Phoebe, you totally redeemed yourself. There you go. All right, thanks. All right, M1 Puppet, let me hear your motorcycle. Oh, wow. One more time. Okay. That's what I would have done. Wow. M1 Phoebe. Okay, what kind of motorcycle is it? Oh, really? A hog. A katana. Does it matter? An Indian. Vroom, vroom, vroom.
Holy crap. Did she just say vroom? Yeah, she just said vroom, vroom, vroom. The best is that she caveated with what kind of vroom. Okay, vroom, vroom, vroom. Vroom is very accurate, and I'm going to give my vote to Phoebe. Oh, my gosh. I'm going with puppet. Me too, puppet. Puppet, you won that round. 100. Vroom. Puppet, let me hear your foghorn. What's that? Oh, there. That actually wasn't bad. Phoebe? Yeah, what is a foghorn? Is it like for a lighthouse? Yeah, yeah. We have a lot of lighthouses around here. Yeah, no, we don't. We need them. Nowadays. Looks like Nantucket outside. Yeah, it does. All right, Phoebe, let's hear it. That's amazing. Holy crap. She killed it. It's amazing. Phoebe, let me hear your foghorn. Okay. Oh, my gosh. Sienna. Puppet. Puppet. Wow. Puppet is leading two to one. It's the greatest game ever made. If you win one more, Puppet, you're the winner. You'll get yourself a Wigs CD. Puppet, give me your best doorbell. It's very creative. Phoebe. Sienna. Phoebe.
This is my grandma. Phoebe, 100%. Phoebe, I love that doorbell. I know that doorbell. We're tied. Yeah, my grandma has that doorbell. There you go. Now we're tied. We're tied. This is a decider. M1 Puppet, we're doing chick sound effects. M1 Puppet, let me hear your best wind howling. Okay. Terrifying. Did you just hear a bunch of air? Phoebe, let me hear yours. Puppet. Puppet. Wow. Puppet. I'm sorry. It was close. I felt like I was watching The Wizard of Oz. I know. It was amazing. Puppet, you are our winner. Congratulations. Good job, Phoebe. Awesome. Bye. Phoebe, you did a great job. You did. Puppet, you are the chick sound effector that reigns supreme today. Hang on. Very well done. This is the greatest game ever. I love hearing chicks. Vroom, vroom, vroom.
I would have said the same thing. I was like, oh, why didn't I think of that? What kind of motorcycle? Not bad. Mine would have been... What is that? It's a motorcycle. You know that. Is that what I did? No, I got what you were saying. 570-1949 is our number if you want to call about the last time as an adult. In fact, what I think would be the funniest is the oldest adult that we can get that still gets it from their parents. My parents still get it from their parents. Do they really? Yeah. Maybe not scolded, but the, what are you doing? What? Well, we've heard it a million times that parents don't stop being parents. Nope.
What's funny about that is that kids don't stop being kids. It's the same reason that Lauren woke up and was like, oh my gosh, I'm busted. You revert back to being a child. Especially when you're at home, man. You do. When I go home, I haven't been home in a while, but when I do go home next, I mean, you kind of try to follow the rules of the house, man, you know? I can tell you this. If I were around any adult and they said to me, ooh, you don't want to wear a jacket? It's cold outside. If I were around any adult that said that to me, I'd be like, no, I'm good. But for whatever reason, I'm like, mom, I don't need a jacket. Mom. I'm fine. Michael, put your jacket on. Miguel, put your jacket on. Put your jacket on. I wish I knew how to speak Spanish. But then, like, it goes both ways because when I stay with my parents, I wake up in the morning. I'm like, where's breakfast? You do? Yes. Oh, my God. You do too? What? Dude, we're at the lake. Like, I'll wake up and be like, we smell anything cooking yet. Mom's not up. We just not going to eat or. Mommy. Are you doing laundry? It's so true. I do not.
have any experiences of this. Mom! Mom! Last time I was at my parents' house, I was making them breakfast. You were? Yeah, I go over there in the morning. I live by them. That's probably the difference. That's my house. I revert. I'm a kid at home. My sister and I fight. I hate you. She always gets what she wants. My sister is 32 years old with child. But you'll say that as an adult. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. I refused. Last time I was home, I refused to go into Philly with the rest of my family because I was like, no, it's always what she wants. That's fantastic. That is fantastic. Oh, dude, we did it this weekend. My brother and I were like fighting because he's like, we're going to go to the Padre game. And I'm like, all right, we got to leave early. We got to get there. I want to see the first pitch. We got to get it. I want to get a new hat. Right. The whole bit. He's like. We go to a surf shop because he needs a sweatshirt. He has to have a sweatshirt. So we go to a surf shop. I buy a sweatshirt. My wife buys a sweatshirt. And he goes, man, I don't like these. Let's go somewhere else. Let's go to that one we went to the other day. Went to South Coast. Right. So I was like, so now I got, instead of going to the game, I got to go to frigging PB before we go to the game. I got to take you to PB before the game. Did you say that? He's like, yo, it's in the store in front of everybody. I was like, for a GD sweatshirt? I lost my mind. Really? I like lost it. I was like.
Now I got to go eight miles off the highway to get you a sweatshirt. We're at a sweatshirt store right now. Did he start arguing with you? Oh, yeah. But he's visiting from out of town. He wants a cool San Diego sweatshirt. That's the bit that I got from Jamie all weekend. Okay, so here's the deal. Is this the rule? Just because somebody's visiting, they get to do whatever they want to do? Carte blanche. It's ridiculous. Carte blanche. I'm out on the whole thing. I'm with you, Woods. I'm with you. Obviously, Mr. Throw Your Fit because you don't want to drive. No, here's the thing. Like, hey, you're in my town. We're going to do what I say. No. Oh, my gosh. You're the worst host ever. Ever. PB. I mean, I see that that's annoying, but it's like he's here for a short while. He doesn't live here. He wants a cool sweatshirt. We got cool sweatshirts at the sweatshirt store. That wasn't cool in his opinion. You know what I would say? What did he buy? I wouldn't even be going to the sweatshirts. I'd be like, hey, listen, why don't you go in my closet and borrow a sweatshirt? You know what he bought? A baby blue sweatshirt. I was like...
Great call. I like it. I'm glad we had to drive 40 minutes out of our way. I like it. Then we hit all the traffic. I'm like, you did it? Yeah, I did it. You drove to South Coast? I went to PB. Oh, my gosh. There's cool stuff there. Yeah. Don't blame him. I mean, we scrapped the whole time. You get off the five, you drive all the way. 89 lights. 89 lights. 89 lights. It's 7.9 miles off the highway. I know this. 10 minutes out of your way. It is not. Not in 4th of July traffic, Seattle. Not in 4th of July traffic. It's like 40 minutes out of your way. It was 40 minutes out of the way. Yeah, 20 minutes in, 20 minutes out. Oh, my gosh. Oh, I almost lost my mind. I did. You're not used to the people visiting you, because when you live here, they're always visiting. I am now. Speaking of PB, you guys hear about the dude from Mission Valley who decided to get drunk, get naked, and go sleep in a stranger's house in PB? It was not me. I was with my family all weekend. Sure. Didn't even have one drink. Dude, this story actually made national news, and we're going to tell you about it coming back. Maybe somebody knows this guy. Call us. Voice be heard on The Mikey Show now. I'm ready. Call 570-1949. I'm going all day. Shoot him a text. 949-Mikey.

This is the number one country song in America right now by Lady Antebellum. Is this, it's a quarter after one and I'm drunk and I need you now? Yeah, my wife goes, have you listened to the words to this? Because it was on in the car. I go, no. I like this song. My wife loves this song. She does too. I thought this was Taylor Swift. It isn't.
Where is this coming from? It sounds funny. It sounds kind of janky. I totally thought it was Taylor Swift. I was like, oh, yet another Taylor Swift song I like. Lady Antebellum is like one of the biggest country stars I know. It does not sound like a country singer. Two guys and a girl. Yeah, they sound like a top 40. No, their name. Lady Antebellum? Yeah. It doesn't sound like a country. No, it doesn't. No, Lady Antebellum is like... Gaga and all that. She probably had her name before Gaga did and Gaga ruined it. I like the song. Me too. I do too. And we're gay. It's a group. It's not just a girl. Who is the dude? Oh, that's just someone in the group. There's two guys and a girl. Okay. I thought it was Taylor Swift and like Keith Urban or something. Hey, L.O.B., I ate at that restaurant. Oh, you did? Did you like it? I truly. Eat truly? Oh, it's eat truly? I don't know. Eat truly. I say eat truly. Oh, my gosh. Is that good? Did you guys have to wait? Because I know that you can't do the reservations. It was packed. But for good reason, right? Food is good, man. Sienna, have you been there? No. You've got to try this. It's outside the bubble. It's outside the bubble. It's good. It's outside La Jolla. We tried. When? We tried on Saturday. Too packed? Yeah, well, we didn't. I called, and they said their kitchen was closing early, so I went to Via Italia. Delicious. Well, Via Italia is good, too. So good. You wanted to try something different.
There's two camps, they said. You're either at Itrulli or you're Vietta. I am. I'm Itrulli. Maybe I'm both. You got to get into Quero, too. Oh, yeah. I called that place. Quero? Yeah, it's also on 101. It's Peruvian food. Rebecca was like, well, muslims. Oh, no, it's good. See, and I guarantee, Woodsy and my wife, and Sienna just made a look like, you know, she was about to barf. I bet all three of you couldn't. I can't name. Who knows what that even is? Was it a plate of cocaine, plate of coffee? What is it? It's that Latin influence. Everybody says it's great. It's so good, though. It's so good. You can't get a reservation. You can't. In fact, for two weeks, they said, and I had left a message, and I said, they say, leave a message, and, you know, we'll call you. They didn't even call back. Of course. We should go there for lunch one day. Really? Such a sweet kid. It's a lot easier to get in for lunch. What is that? What do you mean? What's a food? What is Peruvian? To me, it's a lot like South American food, you know? I know, but I don't know what that is. Well... Fried bananas. Fried bananas? Yeah, there's plantains. There's like, I don't know, the dessert we got was like tres leches, which you can get. Tres leches is good. No, I want to know about meat. What kind of beef do they have? Everything has like a story on the menu, too. I don't care about anything. I just want to eat. It tastes good? Yeah, it's very good. 570-1...
94.9 is our number. Or text 949mikey at gmail.com. Okay, so this dude lives in Mission Valley. Yep. Went out and got, he tied one on. When you said that, I had no idea. Have you not ever heard of that? I think that's like an above 30 thing. Maybe it is. He went out and tied one on. He tied one on, see? Paint in the town red. So, yeah, there's this guy from Mission Beach. He went out in PB, I'm assuming, because he ended up naked on someone's couch at their home in PB. Now, the man who lived here came downstairs, saw this naked stranger passed out on the couch. Which probably wasn't that big of a deal to him in. PB has probably happened before. No, no. So then he ran back upstairs, got his wife, said, you need to call 911. There's someone sitting on the couch butt naked. And I guess he went down and woke up this guy at about 7.30 a.m. Oh, my gosh. And the guy was really... He let him sleep in a little bit. No, it was right then. And he was really apologetic and, you know, sober by the time he got up and just said, oh, man, I'm so sorry. And he just got dressed and left.
So his clothes were there. He just took his clothes off and got laid down naked. He probably sleeps in the nude. Thought he was home. Yeah. That used to happen in college all the time. It did? Not to me, but like. No, we would end up. Wake up in some dude's bed. I don't know. We had a couch on our porch. And a lot of times we'd have this guy, like a guy sleeping on our couch. Some of the apartments look exactly the same. The floor plan. A couch on your porch? Yeah. College. I guess. Went to school in Virginia. See, Mike, we had a couch out in the park. It was covered. Our porch was covered. A big jug there. No. Old hounds sleeping underneath. No. But some of the floor plans, too, the apartments were the same. So people would mistakenly go and they would think they were in there, but, you know, drunk. Hey, beautiful hair. Oh, wow. Oh, wow. That's Lauren's next door neighbor. I know. It really was.
The worst thing is one year we moved into a neighborhood that wasn't like college friendly. It was townies. And there was a whole lot of that going on. Was there? Toilets in the middle of the street. Flaming shopping carts. That's amazing. Where did you live? That's whack. Wow. That's horrible. Hickville. Well, the guy that owned this home in PB, he's not pressing any charges against the intruder. But the door was unlocked, which is how the guy got into these ladies. That's amazing. Yeah. Sienna. I almost didn't read this because I don't know who this is. What? Who's Blake Lively? The chick. She met her. She's hot. Yeah. It's the girl from Gossip Girl. Yeah. She's gorgeous. Blonde, beautiful. And Gossip Girl is like one of the big shows. It's on CW. I'll find her for you. Sweet. Yeah. So I did. I met her yesterday. I was at the Fashion Valley Mall doing a little maternity shopping. And I spotted her. And I was like, oh, my gosh. I was by myself. And I was like, oh, my gosh. like totally dorked out for a minute. Woods is showing me a picture. Oh, she's really pretty. She's gorgeous. She's in the sisterhood of the traveling pants. Why didn't you call her? Who isn't? Well, because I didn't want, I mean, I didn't know how long she was going to be there.
She was with her mom. And so I was like, oh my gosh, my sisters love the show Gossip Girl. I'm not going to lie, I do too. And I thought, you know, I'll be a real good big sister and I'm going to go introduce myself, be real cool about it and just ask for her autograph. She was at the pretzels, Wetzel pretzels. You know what they, Wetzel pretzels, the food. So I walked up. And I was like, hi, I'm so, so sorry to bug you. I'm just like, you know, I love your show. And my little sisters there in high school, they are just the biggest fans of you. They love you, you know. And she was just like looking at me like kind of annoyed, you know, and just like, okay, okay. I just want to get a pretzel. Yeah. And she was kind of waiting outside and her mom was in line. And she was like, no, no, no, I'm not who you think I am. And I was like, what are you talking about? I said, it's okay. I just, you know, if you could just sign this really quick. Like, I've actually interviewed your co-star, Chase Crawford, before. I actually work on the radio. It was the station. Oh, my God. Well, I'm just trying because she was looking at me like I was nuts.
And I'm like, what? You must get this all the time. You're a beautiful girl. You're famous on TV. I'm famous too. It's no big deal. It wasn't like that. I was just trying to let her know, like, look, I'm not trying to creep on you. I'm not some stalker. I'm a professional here. I just, you know, just a quick little signature and I'll be on my way. And she was like, no, look, who do you think I am? And I said, Blake Lively. She's like, I'm not Blake Lively. You're a clown. No way. No, you guys, this was Blake Lively. Are you sure? It was her twin. I mean, if it wasn't her, then I don't know who it was. I'll tell you who it was. It was Samantha Thompson. No, you guys, it got worse because I still didn't budge. I was like, oh, stop. Oh, my God. I said, trust me, like, I'm not going to make a big deal about it. Just, you know, I'm already making a big deal. You guys, I think I'm nuts and pregnant and, like, I don't know what's wrong with me. She's like, mom. Mom. Mom. Help me.
No, and finally her mom came. She got the muscles. And her mom was like, hi. She's like, Diana, what's the matter? No, her mom was really sweet. Her mom came up and was like, hi. And I was like, hi, I'm a big fan of your daughters. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Holy cow. You guys. Holy cow. I really, I still think it was her. What did her mom say? Oh, you watched her play volleyball at Poway. You big fan? Her mom said, she was like, what do you mean? Shopping. Oh. And then the girl, Blake, obviously. I'm not Blake Lively. She started to laugh. She started to laugh. She was like, Mom, she thinks, you know who Blake Lively is from Gossip Girl, right? And the mom's like, oh, I know the show. And so at that point, I was like, oh. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. What did you do? It took me like five attempts of, no. No. That's mortifying. That's mortifying. And I'm by myself, this cool pregnant girl.
Blubbing around the mall. Amazing. Blubbing. Did you just shuffle away? Yeah. I did. You're like, oh, wait, there's Wesley Snipes. Hello, B. No, I just, I mean, finally when the mom was like, oh, I know that show. I just started laughing and I was like, oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. I am so sorry. Oh, my gosh. And it said you. This is the ultimate compliment. If someone told me I look like Blake Lively, I would be stoked. You're gorgeous. She's gorgeous. Goodbye. I would have given anything to see. Because we know when Sienna blushes... When Sienna blushes, she turns... Her body blushes. Her whole body gets... Her boobs blush. Crimson red. It does. You must have been so red. I was mortified. Oh, my gosh. All by herself. Wow. I know. I immediately walk away. First thing I do, grab the cell phone, make a phone call. Oh, my gosh. You know, like, I'm not a total loner. Holy crap. Oh, my gosh. It was the worst, you guys. I'm trying to think of what I would do. It was her. I swear.
Wouldn't she be in LA? I wish I had taken a little paparazzi pic with my cell phone. What if you did that and mom whacked it out of her hand? No, the mom was so nice, but she didn't even say that she's gotten it before or anything. She was totally surprised. Maybe it was her doing a bit. That's shocking. I think it was. M1, Jeff, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. So you get mistaken for who? Marc Messier, the hockey player. Oh, yeah. We had been at a Christmas party, work party, and my buddy and I were dressed pretty nice. We lived in South Mission, and we went into the beachcomber. We're standing in there, way overdressed for the place, but we're drinking. And some girl's checking me out, so I'm thinking, hey, I'm doing all right. And then a couple minutes later, she walks up and goes, are you Marc Messier? And, I mean, I look just like the guy. I know it. Bald, wrinkly. You actually do look like Marc Messier? I look exactly like Marc Messier. Wow. Googled Marc Messier for me, Woodsy, so I could see what he looks like. Sharp dude. Is he? Yeah. He's an old-time hockey player. Played with Gretzky. Oh, yeah. You've got to start using that to your advantage. Well, you know, I do all right. I get Matthew McConaughey all the time. All the time. Oh, yeah. You want to have your shirt off a lot? Exactly. I was at the Padre game this weekend, and a lady asked me for my autograph because she thought I was Chaz Bono. Yeah, that's really great, isn't it? That worked really well. Thank you. Appreciate it.
Did I tell you the one that happened to me? I was a bartender at a bar in Chicago called The Hunt Club, and I, like an idiot, hung out there on my days off because I could get free drinks and free food and hit on the waitresses and all that stuff. So I was having lunch with a buddy outside, and a lady walks up, that very timid, hi, how are you? I'm so sorry to bother you in the middle of lunch, and I know this is, you know, I know you don't like this kind of stuff, but would you sign this for me? And I start laughing, and I go, who do you think I am? And she goes, you're Judd Nelson. What? Judd Nelson from The Breakfast Club. I was like, I looked at her like, are you high? See, to me, I don't see it. I don't see it at all. Our boss, our boss here, Rick Jackson. Yeah.
He looks like Robert Duvall. Identical. Oh, yeah. He really looks like Robert Duvall. If you convince yourself that that is the person, then all of a sudden they start to look unmistakably like them. Well, he said that people also mistake him for James Taylor and that he was at a concert and a woman came up to him and wouldn't stop. Wouldn't stop bothering him. She refused to believe that he wasn't. I've gotten the... Persistent Lindsay Lohan. Really? That's awesome. I get Lindsay Lohan at least once a week still. All the time. People will be like, Lindsay, you're pregnant. 570-1949. Give us a call. M1, Mikey from Mission Valley. Mikey. Mikey. Mikey. Mikey. Has woken up in somebody else's house before. Was that him over the weekend? You're not that same guy though, right? No, man, no. At least I had my clothes on. But you have done that. Yeah. Yeah, I was back in high school. Me and my buddies were at a party up in Mira Mesa. And I don't really remember the details of the party, but I remember very vividly. It's burned in my brain. In the fetal position, on the couch, bright lights, the morning sun has come up in my face.
And I got two complete strangers in robes and nightgowns looking down. Oh, my God. Like, who the hell are you and what are you doing on the couch? In our home. That's terrifying. That is horrible. I'm trying to think. I'm like, where the hell am I? How the hell did I get here? What is going on? And it takes a few seconds for me to process, like, okay, I can't answer any of those questions. So I just got up and ran. I got up and ran. I ran out the front door and just started running down the street. Yeah, I would do the same. When all else fails, just run. Just run. I was out of there. I was like, where am I? What's going on? Oh, my gosh. And, you know, a few minutes later, I kind of found where the house was. We were down the street at that party, and, you know, all my buddies were already packed out inside the house. And I go in there, and my heart is racing. And I'm just sitting there, like, stunned. That's pretty wild. That's a good way to get shot. Yeah, it is. Oh, my gosh. For sure. I'm going to joke about that. 570-1949 is our number. You know, I was just thinking as he was telling that story, before I met Kim, I remember waking up in a living room completely butt naked with a ham sandwich in one hand with a bite missing. And I was like, where's that bite? It was still in my mouth. Oh, my gosh. That's a phenomenal story. Oh, my gosh. I spit it out, put my clothes on. My clothes were all around. Put my clothes on.
Sneak over to the phone because there were no cell phones at this point. I was like, call my buddy's house. I said, I don't know where I am. I said, but I'm going to meet you on Main Street, wherever that is. And I just took off. I did the same thing. Took off running. This looks familiar. You know what I want to know the most out of that story is? Did he go into a stranger's house and make a sandwich? Did someone give it to him? 100%. He made himself a ham sandwich. He made it. He probably came home naked. Or came to that person's house, went in there, spread the mustard and mayonnaise. How do you get that? By the way, there's nothing grosser than a house ham sandwich. What? It was just filthy. Are you talking about Oscar Mayer's slice? No, boar's head. Apparently I was kissing some girl on the dance floor and then I stole a moped. I don't remember anything else. Oh my gosh. How do you get to the point where you can't actually swallow the bite? You could have been like Mama Cass choked on that ham sandwich, pal. You're lucky you didn't wake up. All the leaves are... All the leaves are ham. All the single life. Gosh, 570. That's such a good story. 194.9.
Sienna believes that she met Blake Lively. If you were at Fashion Valley Mall and you saw Blake Lively, please call so I'm not alone. Or if you're that girl that goes to... Claremont Mesa High School. Who's on summer vacation right now. He was just wanting to go into Aeropostale and buy some clothes. Just got your braces off, trying to celebrate with a pretzel. Emma Wasabi just wrote in and said that they Googled Blake Lively and she's on location in Paris. You guys, I went to Paris. I was in Paris. Nation Valley. Paris. Maybe she flew home for her mom's birthday for just the day. Yeah, could be. And they got Wetzel pretzels. She's a celebrity. There has to be. Whoever that was, if she's from here, had to have told that story to somebody. Thousands of times already. So if anybody's listening. She's twittering it as we speak. As we speak. She's tweeting it. You guys, I mean, and what kind of an idiot am I to be like, but I've actually interviewed your co-star. She's comforted. It's the best. Who am I? What is wrong with me? You made her year. Of course. I guarantee it.
570-1949. She was weirded out at first with a crazy pregnant lady, but it's a good story. People come up to me all the time. They're like, Shamu, oh my gosh. You kissed my girlfriend's face. It was so sweet. Here, here's a fish. Yeah, here's a fish. Is that your Shamu noise? Yeah, it's my Shamu. Wow. 570-1949. Why am I doing a dolphin to imitate a killer whale? Who knows? I don't even think killer whales make noise. Oh, yeah, they do. Holy cow, L-O-B. What was that? It was a killer whale. It was Free Willy. It's a cat. It's a cat. M1 Travis from El Cajon. It was a pretty good day. Woke up naked where? No, actually, it wasn't me. It was a buddy of mine. Quote, unquote. Woke up naked outside of a cop's house about two doors down from my house. It's a bad place to wake up. Yeah. Oh, man, it was really bad. The cop had to give him some clothes. And in the morning, because he went and knocked, I had to take off his pants for him. Yeah. And I told him, lay on the couch and just go to bed. Hey, dude, hang on a minute. Hang on, hang on. I got to be careful because he said something that could have been a little bit. Toes aligned. Yeah, like half and half.
Dips the toe in. Yeah. Doesn't jump all the way in. He didn't jump all the way in. He got the dump button. Yeah, he got a dump button. He didn't go all the way in, but he's testing the water, so I got to be a little careful with that one. I get the idea. I think we understand what you're trying to say. He had an accident. Twinkle toes. Yeah, he had an accident. 570-1949 is our number. This was interesting, too. This is something that I know people can. relate to, I've actually heard of this. And that is the, Lauren, the story about your girlfriend. Do you have a girlfriend? Yeah. I thought you liked black dudes. Oh my gosh. Isn't that right? I do. Do you know what story I'm talking about? Yeah, the little MacGyver move. It's actually my guy friend, but he was ambushed by his girlfriend, ex-girlfriend. What do you mean? Well. Tell me about the stealing thing. Yes. Yeah. Because we were waiting tables.
When you're waiting tables, you get a lot of cash tips and stuff like that. Sometimes you just store it like a little squirrel until you can get to the bank. My friend was doing this thing, and he kept saying for a couple days he'd come in and be like, dude, I feel like I'm losing money. He's checking his apron at work. He's like, I feel like I'm losing money, just showing up $20, $40 short here and there. And he's like, the only thing that I can think of, he's like, I feel like it's in my house, but he lived alone. He's like, I think one of my neighbors is stealing or something. So he decided to set up a little trap. He put his wallet, closed his wallet, his little metal wallet, and took a long hair, put the hair, laid it ever so gently on the wallet, and left the wallet out in plain sight, took a shower, came out, hair was gone, money removed from the wallet. His girlfriend's... Sitting there, reading her Cosmo magazine in the living room. His girlfriend was stealing. Hey, babe. That's gross. His girlfriend was stealing money. Shocking. Stealing from him. Well, here's the thing that is really creepy about this. I heard a statistic. There is a shockingly high statistic that has to do with chicks as adults that steal. Amazing. Women.
That shoplift. That don't need to. I mean, it's not like they're doing it out of necessity. They just do. That kind of sets the light bulb off for him because he thought, okay, wait a second. She nannies and she's constantly broke, but she's got designer clothes. She's got like nice things in her house. And then he started to pay attention and realized she was like a total klepto. Wow. Like stealing from people she babysat for, stealing from stores. Yep. That is crazy. Yeah. 570-1949, if you're familiar with the phenomenon. Somebody is on the phone and convinced that they saw me. Two, three, four, five. One, two, three, four, five, six. Mikey Show, who's this? This is Allie from TV. Hi, Allie. How are you? I'm good. How are you? Good. Did you see a short, overweight Mexican with a bald head? Yes, so I kind of have to preface the whole story with when you guys started your show, I moved here about the same time, and I'm also in recovery, and I go to VA, and so the fact that you shared your story on the air, I was, like, so stoked on that, and I thought it was, you know, I don't know, I just found it super inspiring, and the fact that you had the courage to, you know, come out and say that. Right.
I also go, there's an AA meeting in PB every morning at 7 a.m., and I'm sure some people there are hearing me say this right now, which is going to be embarrassing, but I was there one Saturday morning, and I see this short, bald Mexican guy with tattoos all up and down his arms and facial hair, and I'm like, oh, my gosh, that's him. 100% got it. Like, look at me. I'm going to talk to him. My boyfriend's going to be so jealous. Because we love your show. We listen all the time. And I'm like geeking out on this. And he's sitting probably like five chairs away from me. Eating something. Yeah. Clearly. Throwing down some donuts. Obviously. Bean and cheese burritos. Bean and cheese burritos. Coming out of all of his pockets. What'd you do? Pretzels. So this is at like the beginning of the hour. And I'm like scamming on him, right? Well, from his perspective, I'm like 21. He's a younger guy. Why did you think it was me? I'm 40 years of age. Okay. Well, okay. He's like maybe 30. But at this point, this is a couple of months ago, I had seen your picture from afar on the website, but I hadn't like looked up close. We got to wrap this up, Allie. So you got to make this as quick as possible. Okay. So I think it's him for the whole hour. I'm planning on what I'm saying. I'm like, you know, flirting with him kind of with my eyes. I'm like, hey, we're going to be friends.
The very last minute he, like, gets called on to share, says his name is, like, you know, Mario. Of course. And he's, like, checking me out as I, like, walk out of there. Oh, boy. And I, you know, blinded out the door. Right, because you're his at that point. You've been making googly eyes at him the whole time. It's fantastic. Thank you, Allie. When we come back, I'm going to tell you about jam made from Princess Diana's. Hair. Ew. I'm not kidding. Ew. I'm not kidding. I'll fill you in. I'll fill you in next.

Mikey Show with Mikey. I want to be a movie director more than anything else. Lauren. Yes, I'm going to get a wheatgrass shot. Woods. I'm a great baseball player, but I could be better. Sienna. Only time I'll eat spinach is if it's in artichoke dip. And Jay. I would rather be skating or surfing any day. On FM 94.9. Leather jackets with shoulder pads real good. Oh, real good. 570-1949 is our number. Welcome back. It's the Mikey Show. Yeah, jam. Made from Princess Diana's hair. Delicious. Disgusting. Okay, let me just start at the beginning. There was a hair that was bought on eBay for $10 from a U.S. dealer who collects what he says was celebrity hair. Yeah, what a creep. And sells it in extremely tiny particles. Yeah. Well, someone, of course. It's just a side business. It's either going to be an eBay business or selling hair. Or jellies. Yeah, jellies.
So I got my canning license and I'm doing great. Oh, my gosh. So there is now a preserve, as some people call jelly, made by the tiny speck of the late princess's hair with gin, which is then combined with milk and sugar to create this jelly product. And right now it's vanilla. Oh, my gosh. Right now it's at an art show in London, and they're selling these five-pound jars of jam with tiny particles of hair. That's so stupid. Isn't that gross? They're saying it's both art and food. It's neither art or food. Just creepy. It's like cannibalism. First of all, who wants gin-flavored jelly? Yeah, why would they put gin in it? I don't know. Christmas tree jelly. To preserve it, maybe? I mean, this jelly is next to Salvador Dali artwork at this museum. That's so gross. They're selling jars, five-pound jars, for $7.60. Who's that guy, by the way?
Ooh, yum. Jelly maker? Who knows? You work with that dude? No, I'm talking about the guy that buys it. Oh, that buys it. Yeah, you work with that guy. Look what I bought. Gross. Mikey. Really? 570-1949. Breaking news. Lindsay Lohan's been ordered to attend alcohol classes during three-year probation. That's what she already had. Isn't that what she had? Yeah, she's been in court. Was ordered. Was. I think that's an old woman. Yeah, this was was. This is they're still at recess right now. Lindsay Lohan is in court right now over whether or not she's going to be going to jail for breaking her probation. Years ago, a couple years ago, she got a DUI. She has to wear the alcohol bracelet and she alcohol showed up in her system from the bracelet. It went off. So now she's in court. And she may be facing jail time. We'll be finding out momentarily. The judge is at recess. And she says she drank a bunch of kombucha, which set it off, which has now pulled my beloved kombucha off the shelves. Because it's got alcohol in it. Yeah. Well, because it ferments. It ferments, yeah. So it's not pasteurized. M1 Rose from Carlsbad. Are you there? Hello? Hi. Who did you think that you saw in your yoga class? Joaquin Phoenix.
I believe it. I could see him doing yoga. I know, and that's what made it so believable. So did you approach him and say hi? I did. Okay, so like the whole class, I just kept looking at him like we were doing downward dog. I just kept like trying to... Through your legs. Only him, right? Because he was in the back of the class. He came in late. I was like, okay, he's just trying to be inconspicuous. Even like at the end when we were doing our meditation, our teacher was telling us. He was saying a lot of stuff to us, and he said, you know, it doesn't matter who you are or what you do. Wow. It's him. Oh, yeah. I bet he knows it, and that's why he came in like that. Trying to do that bit. Yeah, he's trying to play it up, coming in all, you know, quietly. Why? I think he was really upset that I thought that he was Joaquin Phoenix, because I came up to him, I went up to him, and I said, are you Joaquin Phoenix? Okay, I have a huge crush on Joaquin Phoenix. Who doesn't? I was really nervous. Did he have the scar on his lip? Yes. Wow. He had the hair lip? I was like, wow, you know, like, yes, it has to be him. It wasn't like Joaquin had a very deep scar, and this guy didn't have a very deep one, but I was like, okay, well, maybe they just make it.
I don't know. I was thinking of all these excuses. Like, I probably had someone, like, punch him. He did it himself. He probably didn't even have it, but once you convince yourself that it's there, you see it. He did not have the scar. You see it. She was like, he does. So what did you say? So you say, you say, are you Joaquin? Yes. And he's like, no. And I was like, okay. I'm like, really? Really? Like, are you sure? Yeah. Are you sure? Always a good one. Yeah. Are you sure that you're not? He's like, no, I'm not. I go, okay. I'm sure people have told you that you look like him because you really do. You really look like him. He's like, no. Rose, how old are you? I don't want to say. All right. Because what I want to know is if would-be Joaquin took the opportunity to hit on you. No, I think he was upset that I thought he was Joaquin. Was he? Why would you be upset, though? What a jabroni. I mean, if somebody came up to me and said, Louie Anderson, oh my goodness. That would bum me out. Yeah, I could see that. Chaz Bono. Yeah. If somebody came up to me and they said, you know, oh, are you... Brad Pitt. Yeah. Nice. He said that some people had told him that, but he didn't say it. Why was he so surprised? Grow up, Joaquin. Get over yourself, Joaquin. He's a yoga boy. Yeah. He's a downward dog.
He never came back to yoga class. Maybe go throw the football around, pal. Knowing how weird Black King Phoenix is, maybe it was him. Sean Merriman was in my yoga class. Was he really? Yeah, he really was. He didn't make it all the way through, though. Wow! Thank you, Rose. We appreciate it. Man, you outlasted Sean Merriman in a yoga class. Wow. I know, he probably had to be somewhere, but I like to say that I big-timed him. Envisioning guys doing yoga just makes me laugh. It's funny. Watching a big guy do yoga is funny. I know. Yeah, Woods is going to be doing it soon. Yeah, I guess you have P90X. Part of P90X. Is it? I'm going to be doing it in the comfort of my own home. I didn't know that. I thought it was all like calisthenics. I like to recommend a class, Woods. No. Go in there. Don't they turn the temperature up to like 100 degrees? Bikram yoga. I've done that. And guys roll in in their bathing suit. I'm in the process of creating my P90X room right now. Are you really? Oh, yeah. A room? Dude, it's on. He'll have the room. I saw the room like a week ago, and it was just boxes on the floor. I'm in the process. I heard that you have to train to get ready to be on P90X. What? Seriously. It's hardcore. It's hardcore. Lauren, I'm hanging pictures of Chaz Bono in that room, by the way. I'm not kidding. Are you kidding? No, I don't. I know that you're telling the truth. Motivation. I'm sure you will. I'm treating this as a part-time job for one hour a day, and my payoff is $1 million. That's how I'm looking at it.
I have to talk myself into it. It's more than an hour a day. It's one hour. It's your whole life, though. Yeah, but it's your food and everything. I'm working on that already. Yeah. As soon as Jamie gets into town, he's going to start eating right. You don't worry about it. Keep your eyes on your own paper over there. Jamie's been here for months now. Wait. Yeah, that's right. Maybe some hush puppies. Maybe get some more Hello Dollies in here. Maybe some hush puppies. You can be eating them on that P90X, buddy. Uh-uh. Uh-uh. Eating a lot of chicken, tuna. Fish, broccoli. How long is it? By the end of the 90 days, you might be able to do what you're supposed to do day one of P90X. Oh, I know. You work up to that. I thought I already just thought of what your next push off is to be like, oh, well, my birthday is just around the corner. I'll wait till after my birthday. Yeah, maybe that. Because your birthday is. You're not going to be able to have cake? You're not going to be able to kill it. I'll have one piece of cake. What about when we go to the track and stuff? Oh, yeah. Are you okay? I actually have willpower, if you guys didn't know that. No, it's no fun. I like the ones that eat. I'm addicted to those, Jay. That has nothing to do with willpower. Those are addictive substances. That's so hard to lose weight. It's the worst. I'm a 40-year-old man. It is not easy for a 40-year-old man to lose weight.
You 20-something dudes, you're so lucky. I'm telling you, the cool thing is that I look at it like I've been looking at surfing. We went surfing the other day, and Jamie's like, God, you can stay out there forever now. Used to. When I would go with Jay, I'd go out twice. I'd be like, I was out there for an hour and a half. Like, straight. Didn't come to the beach for an hour and a half. My stamina's really increased. So I'm going to look at it, and I'm really going to put my head down and focus, and we'll see what happens. 570-1949. Probably make it three days. I know. I really like the woods that brings in Hello Dollars. No, I don't want to be that fat pig anymore. I know. I say you can do it. Thanks, Hello Bill. I think so, too. Thanks, Jay. I say you cannot do it. Thanks, Mike. Mike Esparza. Misery loves company. He said he needs me to tell him that he can't do it because it's motivational. Keep telling the kid that, dude. Slay all of you. Keep telling him he can't do it. That's what will make him do it. Maybe wait until I have the baby. We'll do it together. No, I've got to get going now. I'm starting next Monday. Now or never, pal. You get all the menu all set up this weekend, next Monday is the day. Real sweetly. Real sweetly. Call 570-1949. Or text 949mikey at gmail.com. How did you morons even get in here? And now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. My name is Mikey.
And I did not graduate from high school. Lauren. I have to admit, I like partying in the USA. Woods. I don't like being alone. I don't like going places alone. Zienna. I like Nickelback. And Jay. I'm so tired. On FM 94.9. Welcome back. You can call us if you want to. 570-1949 is the number if you want to call. You know that OB homeless sticker? It's causing a bunch of controversy. Don't feed our bums. Is what the bumper sticker said. Yeah, it says, Welcome to Ocean Beach. Please don't feed our bums. Which I thought was tacky. Harsh. They sell that at one store in OB, and it's still for sale there. The Black is the name of the store. Oh, I know that spot.
Yeah, and there's people that protest. A lot of people are really upset by it. But what they say is the reason they have it is because it's the younger people that are more tourists coming in and leaving their trash and just not like the guys that have been there forever. But now there's another alternative sticker that has surfaced, and it says, Welcome to OB. Together we end homelessness. So it's kind of like their way of getting it out there but in a nicer way. So those are available as well. I wonder if a portion of the proceeds go towards it. anything that will actually help stop homelessness. Yeah, and for sure I do think that there's a difference between somebody that is homeless, genuinely homeless, can't find work, and the slovenly person that refuses to work, refuses to help themselves. And they have been getting both, apparently. Well, and I think that's what the difference is between a homeless person and a bum. A bum would be like, it's a derogatory term, meaning like Get up and do something. Yeah. You're capable of it. You're just choosing not to. You're choosing not to because you just want to. You want to be a bum. Yeah, you want to be a bum. So anyway, that's the deal with that. You'll probably be hearing about it a lot. You know that there's a TV show about San Diego Beach Patrol? Yes. So good. I've seen it being filmed. It's really a good show. Have you guys ever seen it? No. You got a Hulu. Hulu?
Hulu. You got to Hulu that. Hulu it. It's really good. I'll check it out. M1 Casey from Oceanside's on the line does P90X. Casey, you there? Hi. Good. How long have you been on it? Well, I did like three months and I took a break and I kind of just maintain now by doing it a couple times a week. Did it really get you all awesome? Yeah, you really do see results fast. I didn't do the sweet plans just because I like to eat whatever I want, but I loved it. I saw results really fast. I was listening to you guys talk about it, and I don't necessarily think that you have to, like, train really hard before you start it. Just be in some kind of good shape. You know, just, like, have endurance and that. You mean like LLB where you can run six miles? Or surf for an hour and a half like the kid. But just know, like, remind yourself that those guys in the video, they invented this. So take your time. Don't push yourself too hard.
And you'll get there. But a couple of my buddies, they would try to push themselves too hard on day one, and then they'd give up because they're like, oh, I'm too sore to do it. I'm too sore. I can't do it. Yeah, I don't think we need to worry about that. If I can just make it through, man. Can we take a picture of you? Yeah. Why? That's motivation. With my shirt off? Yes. Before and after, you know. Before and after. Or you could just say, like, updates. Really? I'll do it. It's the perfect body. No. She's all skinny. I'm not. So I'll do it. I'll do it. All right, I'll take one for the team. I'll do it. Really? I told you I want to be in killer shape before I get to age 30. I'm telling you, doing something like that, though, is the ultimate motivation. Mm-hmm. I told you guys how I did a weight loss contest. I had to get on a bikini and street scene on stage. That's good motivation. And there's nothing more terrifying than that. Yeah. I'm in a couple weddings later on in the year. I'm, you know, I just want to look better. I want to feel better. I don't think I could handle it. Will you let me do it? Well, Lauren. You won't let me. Lauren, you can do whatever you want, obviously, but you can do whatever you want. But do you, I mean, you on P90X? What? You're like, you don't need it. You're not like the P90X. Tell that to my big fat butt. Listen. Really? Lauren, you're being annoying right now. Lauren, I'm going to tell you that. You're being annoying to every chick listening. Everyone that's skinny and says they're fat.
Every chick listening is going, really? Any chick... There's girls driving right now going, listen. Any chick that reaches over the age of 25 knows that your body changes a lot. But you exercise. Yeah, but you guys see me in clothes, okay? But you exercise. But for you to put a picture before and someone... That's what I was just going to say. Get out of here. I won't do the picture. I won't do the before and after just because I don't want anyone to see the before. Now, if people saw the before, they'd be irritated. Like, really? That's your... Yeah. I have a conundrum, too, with it. Because my wife wants to do it with me. Yeah. Which is great and good. And I love my wife and I love spending time with my wife. But I feel... like it's something that I have to do by myself. Why? I just do. Here's the deal. I understand that. I don't run with people because I don't like to talk. Neither do I. I don't like to talk. I need to lock the door. Just tell her. Put my thing on. I guess you just did. Yeah, I just did. I love you. And crank up my music and then just do it. Well, why don't you guys do your workout separately but keep each other on track? Oh, we will. Oh, for sure. You're going to want her dieting too. Do it separately because it's really like... I can't do the workout with her because I'd be embarrassed because she's doing chin-ups and I can't.
Don't do the stuff together, but be on the diet together and count the days together. For me, working out is kind of a... There's a guy. It's a personal man. There's a thing, you know. She keeps asking. Do you have a female trainer, though? She's like, we're going to start it. We're going to start it. And I'm like. Why don't you guys go to LLB and get matching sweaters? I don't think she means that you guys need to work out together. I think she's like, let's be each other's support. I think she does. Well, compromise. I think she wants us to be downstairs watching the DVDs together. I think Woods knows exactly that that's exactly what she wants to do. You guys are on different schedules. Make that compromise. Well, you don't have to. We're saying it all on the radio. Yeah, we're saying it on the radio. M1 Brian from Santee, how much do you lose? 28 pounds in three months. 28 pounds in three months on P90X. How do you look now? Do you look shredded? I do. I look a lot better than what I did. I want to look like one of those 21-year-old dudes taking a MySpace picture. Yeah, who doesn't? I want to be one of those guys. In the bathroom? Yeah. At the end of it, I want to be in the bathroom with my phone going.
Don't ever do that. I don't want to be like, I don't want to be, I want to lose weight, but like, I don't really care really about the way I look per se, but I would like, I feel better and then like be able to take my shirt off and be like, yeah, I'm not the most muscular guy, but I'm also not a fat pig either. My shorts aren't skin tight like they are now. I think you look fine. I know you do, Frank. You're the only one. You look great. You're the only one. 5701949. Well, the thing is, once you get in that kind of shape, too, you don't really want to give it up. So it's easier to maintain once you're in the shape. It's harder, like, when you're completely falling out of shape, you're like, what's it going to hurt? Another donut, you know? Well, see, my wife doesn't like food. It's good for you, though, dude. She's back to her weight before the twins. Wow. She looks great, man. She looks so good. But she doesn't care about food. See, we like food. We like food. I love food. Here's the deal. I can't go out to dinner. No, you can't. There's no dinners out. No. That's okay. Yeah, you'll save a lot of money. Don't ask me. Don't tempt me. Mikey. Mikey. I'll have to bring, like, chicken breast with me. I'll be that guy. Yeah. Paris Hilton had some weed. Weird. And she was where? Where they...
Down in South Africa where they were doing the games? Uh-huh. She was at the World Cup with one of her friends, Ann Woods. Just so you know, this girl was a Playboy Playmate. Just so you don't need to imagine. That's hot. But the two of them were caught with a little bit of a jerk. Oh, wow. However, the friend was the one holding it. So Paris Hilton is in the clear and she wanted to let everyone know that everything's fine. She said the case has been dropped. Everyone is super nice and friendly to me. Is that a quote? Yeah. This is what she wrote on Twitter. That's sexy. Everyone was super nice and friendly to me. I love South Africa. Such an amazing place, especially during the World Cup. Especially when I break the laws and try to smoke weed. She was down there buying weed. She had a little half a joint. Yeah. Still, I wouldn't take my chances in any other country. She didn't take it. She didn't take it on the plane. Probably bought it down there. Still. I was watching some of that Locked Up Abroad again this weekend. Oh, did you watch it? Scares it. Oh, yeah. I saw the one with the dude that we had on the air.
Billy Hayes. Oh, it was so good. I got it on DVR. I'm going to watch it. That is enough to scare me out of following the rules. Because you were about to start smuggling. Yeah, she was thinking about it. I was this close. Lauren was like a part-time job to supplement. Yeah, I had the duct tape out, stretched, ready to wrap it around. I thought, what would Billy Hayes do if he had to do it again? And then you put the duct tape down. No more hashish smuggling for me. Put the hashish back under my mattress. Yeah, you took the hashish back to where you bought it. And you were like, I changed my mind. The legal dispensary that I bought it at. That's right. They may be making hybrids louder. Yeah. Because they sneak up on you, those little things. Has that ever happened to you? Once. I live in an alley. I almost got killed. Well, yeah, there's been a bill that they're trying to pass saying that, you know, the majority, like there's a big percentage of car accidents with pedestrians that are caused by the hybrids because you can't hear them in the blind. They don't, you know, they base their life in walking by the noises they hear. Yeah. And so it's been an issue. So hybrid smarter.
What if they can't see? They can't see. You know what? They can make a little, you can honk your horn for them. Jay. So you're driving by somebody and every time you drive by, you got to go beep beep. Yeah. Why are they crossing the road? I mean, normally there's like the lights indicated. They're blind. To get to the other side. To get to the other side. Why did a chicken cross the road? If you cross at an intersection now, it's got a beep, beep, beep. It tells you to cross. Not all intersections. Some of them say, wait, wait, wait over and over again. Hillary's here. Hi, y'all. Hi, y'all. Hi, Elle. How you doing? I'm so good. Glad to be back. Yeah. Nice little three-day weekend. Yeah. Glad to still have a voice. That's right. I'm worried about her. Is she barbecue here in Bangor, Maine? Uh... Over the weekend. Real nice weather. Nantucket. Here in Nantucket. Cape Cod. I think of Martha's Vineyard. Do you have fun? Have a little white wine? I love that. This time of year on the Cape, just really gorgeous. It's amazing. It's just warm enough to wear your jeans. That's right. It's just warm enough to wear your jeans. So what did you do, Hill? We actually went up to where I grew up in Manhattan Beach, just in L.A. County. So my whole family is still there. So we went there.
Had a great weekend. Actually, the sun came out both days. But on our drive home yesterday morning, I mean, like through San Juan Capistrano and stuff, we were like, is this winter? It was so thick. The fog and it was so dark gray. And we had the windshield wipers going the whole time. Unbelievable. It's so weird. And it's like that right now. It was raining this morning. I don't know what the weather is like right now. I'm so glad I moved here. You brought it here, Woods. Hopefully it gets warmer as the wheat goes on. Mikey gets so upset when I complain about it. He feels like it's his fault. I'm so sorry. I'm serious, because your parents are visiting this weekend. I thought about you, Woods, and your family the whole time. I feel awful. What are they going to do? They can't even go to the beach. They've liked it. They've enjoyed it. What do you got coming up, Hillary? I got all kinds of good stuff. Vampire Weekend. I grabbed some old stuff. Faith No More. And Primus, but also Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeros. And a new one from Free Energy, one of our new recommended bands. It's like the total 70s throwback straight-ahead rock band. I'll play that before noon. That's cool. Yeah. We got a text message from M1 Mean Gene that says, FYI, Mikey's show started February 1st. Mean Gene started working out February 1st. Mikey's show is now number one. Mean Gene has lost over 50 pounds. Wow.
I don't know what point I'm making, but Woodsy showed up late to work. That's M1. Wow. M1 means you. I thought that was my boy. I thought that was my boy. Five unusual ways to stay cool. I guess we don't need that, do we? Just step outside. Walk outside. No. Stay warm. What do you have? What do we got on that? Go to the one that I just put down in the pile. Is it? Well, this one, yeah. There's... You know what? I don't think... What? Do you want to do that? Because there's another one here that's really interesting to me, too. The home repairs. That'll save you dough. Yeah, hire Jay. Hire Jay. Now, these are some things that you can do yourself, and I don't even know. I don't want to say this wrong, Woods. I can't do anything myself. Went into our... Really? You're going to make me say that word? Let me say it. C-A-U-L-K. Caulk. Caulk. Caulk. Insulate. One of the quickest ways to save money on your energy bills is to insulate. You can do that yourself. Change the air filters. Install a thermostat. Fix leaks. Calc is good. You can do a lot with calc. Oh, boy. You can.
Just caulk your bathroom. I love caulk. Caulk everything. LLB loves caulk. All different colors. Okay. Okay. Last one. Last one. That's it. Install dimmers. They make black caulk? All right. Oh, wow. LLB. Over the line. At the end of the show, every day, she flips me out. What's the matter with her? Do they make it? I'm sweating. I'm sure they do. Oh, sure. I'm sweating. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. No, L.O.B. Come on. No. I'm backing it up. She's like that German shepherd that just chewed on the couch. You're like, no, bad girl. No. No. Hey, it's not my fault if you guys take these little things and twist around what I say. Is that it? Really? Who's the one with the dirty mind? I mean, you. L.O.B. Yeah, we went in our bathroom. We have a light that has the, it's a fixture that has a thing over it. Yeah. I have to unscrew the thing, and I don't know how to. Michael, take the screws off, then the glass thing comes off, and then you put the light bulb in. Nope. What is wrong with you, Mike? Do you need me to come over? And I think it's one of those bulbs that's not like a regular bulb. It's like one of those twisty bulbs. Just make sure the light switch is turned off so it doesn't get hot. Forget it. Fancy. That's all I know. Don't want any part of it.
None of it. Lovely and talented. Hillary is coming up next. We'll see you tomorrow morning at 5 a.m. No. 6 a.m. Why would I randomly? Say 5. See you tomorrow morning at 2.46. We'll be here. Check out. It's been out real good. Mikey shows out late. In financial media station. Mikey in the morning. About the music all day and night. FM 94.9. It's about the music.
