word of the day sausagefair expansionPadres winning streakWoods fryer cut betCasey Anthony trialJeff Bridges concertNatalie ticket issuePick a sceneBlood Love FameFrederica Moss interviewJoey Chestnut hot dog eatingunibrow plucking advice
The show opened with Mikey reviving the 'sausage' word‑of‑the‑day game and teasing tickets to L.A. Rising, then moved into a discussion about extending the county fair to ease traffic. Sports talk centered on the Padres’ winning streak and Woods’ promise to shave a fryer‑cut bald spot if they hit six straight wins, while the bulk of the hour was devoted to the Casey Anthony trial, weighing defense claims of innocence against prosecution accusations of premeditated sacrifice. Later, Mikey detailed the awkward moment at a Jeff Bridges concert in Phoenix when he realized his brother’s girlfriend Natalie lacked a ticket, and the show featured lighter bits such as a Pick a Scene rehearsal, listener stories in Blood, Love, and Fame, a chat with 111‑year‑old Frederica Moss, Joey Chestnut’s hot‑dog eating record, a debate over advising a teen to pluck his unibrow, a report on a motorcyclist’s death during a helmet‑law protest, and a lively Name That Tune impersonation game.

No, it feels like Monday. It's not. It's Tuesday. Tuesday, the 5th of July. And we are here. And we are ready to do this thing with you. Give us a call. 570-1949 is our number. And if you want, you can text 949mikey at gmail.com. So many things going on. So much to talk about. The weekend. What happened over the weekend? Drama in my personal life. Crazy things happening this weekend to tell you about. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show. I am 41. Woodsy's 35. He's our sports guy. He sits right across from me. To my right is a pretty blonde, blue-eyed girl named Lauren O'Brien. We call her L-O-B. To my left is a pretty married woman, mother of one. And technically mother of two. Yeah. Technically mother of two because she's got a stepdaughter. Her name's Sienna. She does news for us. And Jay is father of four. And he is 48. And our phone screener is Chris. It's cross. That's cross. And today's word of the day is sausage. Now, what do I mean by that? You silly sausage. What I mean is that when you hear me weave that into a sentence.
Creatively. Caller 9 will get a pair of tickets to L.A. Rising. And also included in that concert, Rage Against the Machine. Meows! Rise Against and Ms. Lauren Hill. Wow. Quite a lineup. L.A. Coliseum. So it's a big prize. Got to be listening for me to weave the word sausage in. Could come during commercials. Could come at any time. But it has to be me saying it. Okay. Not Jay playing it. Me saying it, not Jay playing it. You silly sausage. Doesn't count. Doesn't count. So the fair is over. Yay. The fair is over. Now, a lot of people say yay because of the traffic. I mean, the traffic is just disgusting. But guess what? Because the fair is so popular, they're thinking about...
expanding the amount of days the fair is here next year. So right now the fair, for the last, you know, always it's been 22 days the fair is here. Now they're thinking 24 days. But it might be actually better on traffic because it's going to be more spaced out so it won't be so crowded in one day. That's what they're hoping. Maybe we move the fair, we build Fair Island. Yes. 20 miles off the coast of San Diego with a big bridge. Or inland. Just take it in. Yeah. Like El Centro. Yeah. The desert. Yeah. Would be great. It's, you know, it's a lot of traffic. Even to the people that don't live there, if you go to the fair, you got to deal with the traffic getting in and out of the fair. So even if you live in El Cajon, you still got to deal with that massive traffic getting in and out of the fair. Wouldn't it be great if it was easier? Yes. It's just a pain in the butt. Yeah, I guess it's... been crazy breaking attendance records the last three years on the last day of the fair. So clearly everyone wants to go. Yeah. Is it more about the food or the rides? Food. Rides. Food. Rides. Food. What do you think, L.O.B.? Food. What do you think? Pig races. Oh, that's a good one too. Adorable. Adorable. It could be. Weird that you guys think that the food is the most important part of the fair. We do because it is.
We do because you're... Do you eat there, Jay? I eat a little bit while I'm there. I'm not a big fan of the fair food. I'll find a salad there. I'm healthy. I find a salad, Mike. I like you. Maybe kebab. Yeah. Chicken kebab. We went on wristband day, so you get to ride all the rides as many times as you want. Yeah, I'm not a big ride guy. Nor am I. And really, especially at fairs, I'm not. They scare you, don't they? Something could go wrong, right? Yes. Built in a day. Yeah, built in a day. Mm-hmm. Padres wins. And while we were gone, the Padres lost a game. That's too bad. And it took Woods out of contention for having to shave a fryer cut into his head. Oh, no! We suck again! See, if the Padres win six games in a row, Woods is going to shave a fryer cut into his hair, which is a big bald spot. A big bald spot. Right in the middle of his head. Yeah, and then I'm going to go to a Padre game sporting said Friar haircut. Yeah. Which will probably get news coverage. Because it's pretty crazy. They will go, look at that idiot with the Friar's haircut down there. Yep. And so, anyway, they lost. Now it had to start all over again. Where are we? Well, they had won four in a row, as you know, and then they lost Friday to Seattle. Seattle. And they actually...
Took on the Giants yesterday. And Tim Linscombe, one of the best in the game. And they beat the Giants. They beat Linscombe 5-3. Okay, so it's only one game. They've only won a game. The streak has started at one. Okay. Yes. Well, if they get six in a row, Woodsy's got to shave. Casey Anthony trial wrapped up. I followed it like a madman. So did L.O.B. And this weekend we went to Phoenix. My wife and I, Woods and his wife, went to Phoenix to see Jeff Bridges in concert. And so by default, Woods was having to watch all of it as well. You know, because I'm glued to it. And it was really, really good stuff because they gave their closing arguments. And I like closing arguments because it's not as boring as a lot of testimony. It's somebody getting up and telling you, why this person's guilty or why this person is innocent. And I think it was some pretty compelling stuff. This is some of the defense's closing arguments. They gave you two weeks of testimony that was completely irrelevant and served only one purpose. And that was to paint Casey Anthony as a slut, as a party girl, as a girl who lies.
and has absolutely nothing to do with how Kaylee died. Here's a little bit more of the defense. That's what I told you from the very beginning, that this prosecution would raise the level of desperation to make up for their lack of evidence. The strategy behind that is, is if you hate her, if you think she's a lying, no-good slut, then you'll start to look at this evidence in a different light. You'll start to... Oh, wait a minute. Maybe I'm seeing something that's not there. Well, speaking of something that's not there, the jury would have to really believe in stuff that isn't there to believe what the defense is saying. The defense says Casey did not kill her kid. Her kid drowned. Casey's dad found the body and decided instead of calling 911.
that he would stage it to look like a murder for no apparent reason. So talk about having to suspend common sense. I mean, it's the very height of suspending common sense. Some of the prosecution's closing arguments. The evidence in this case proves beyond any reasonable doubt that Casey Anthony decided on June 16th Something had to be sacrificed. That the conflict between the life that she wanted and the life that was thrust upon her was simply irreconcilable. And something had to give. She chose to sacrifice her child to live the life that she wanted. I think he's right. You got to decide for yourself whether or not you think he's right. I think he's right. My biggest fear. Prosecution.
is that common sense will be lost in all the rhetoric of the case. That you won't step back and take a look at the evidence as a whole. You got to look at the big picture here. A couple of things to point out. Yesterday they went into the deliberation, okay? So the jury gets the information and they go into deliberation. They sit in a room and they've got to hash it out. Now, if a verdict comes back, Very quickly. It's indicative of either. A very quick. Not guilty. Or a very quick guilty. When they come back real quick. It means they've decided on one of them. So if they came back quick yesterday. It was my feeling. That it would have been a guilty verdict. If they came back quick. They did not come back quick. And it was the 4th of July. Which I said. I thought that that played into.
The prosecution more because these people have been sequestered for 31 days in a hotel with no TV, no Internet, and that they would want to be with their families and that they knew that if they got into deliberation, came to a quick decision that very afternoon, they could be with their families at the beach talking about all this openly. But they didn't. They they are continuing to deliberate, which means there's a couple of clowns in that jury that are saying, I don't know, man. I don't see that she did it. I think it was her dad because he molested her, which doesn't have anything to do with anything. And during the trial, that didn't play out to anything. That led nowhere. And so it's going to be real. Oh, by the way, Cindy Anthony, her mom, she perjured herself. They did have her old employers get on the stand on Saturday and say.
Despite what Cindy Anthony claims, that she was the one that searched for the words chlorophyll and chloroform, that she was in fact at work, signed into her computer, sending emails at the same exact time she claims to have been at home searching chlorophyll and chloroform. Effectively perjuring herself. Why did she perjure herself? Because she's got a daughter whose life she was trying to spare. And in the process of lying, may have... killed her daughter. Because the jury is now going to go into the deliberations and go, so she lied about that. She must have lied about it because she was trying to cover up. Why else would she lie? Trying to cover up for what? Her daughter who killed her own kid. So it's going to be, now I'm going to tell you this, that jury comes back and the Mikey show is on the air, we're going to it. If we're on the air when they come back.
We're going to go to it. It's the biggest thing happening right now. The judge also ruled that no evidence of sexual abuse was presented. And so he barred both sides from mentioning in their closing arguments. I thought that was interesting. Yeah. And see, that's the deal. Like I said, that whole thing led nowhere. Right. It was just there. There's a lot of throwing stuff to the wall and seeing what sticks, you know, in the defense's case. Imagine throwing something to the wall. It never makes it to the wall. Right. It falls on the ground before it even makes it to the wall. On the opening day, the defense comes out and says, we're going to show you that this girl did not report her daughter's death for 31 days because she was of the mindset that you do not talk about family dirty secrets. And the reason she was taught that is because her brother and her father molested her from the age of eight. And then during the trial, that never came up. Woods, do you still feel like you know it's going to happen? Yes. So your sealed document. Yeah, my sealed document. I sealed a document the other day with what will be the verdict. And it's sealed. If Woods is wrong, he has to watch Lord of the Rings, which goes against every bit of his constitution. Correct. He hates sci-fi. Yes. Fantasy. And fantasy. Especially fantasy. Fantasy more than sci-fi. What's your line? I don't like fantasy. Yeah, I like girls. I like girls. Okay, so.
If he's wrong about the verdict, then he will have to watch Lord of the Rings with me. And write a report. And write a report. If he's right, I've got to watch Donnie Brosco, which I've never seen. Which is like, it's basically like me saying, hey man, let me show you some cool, hot centerfolds. Donnie Brosco's awesome. That's right. Family drama this weekend with me in Phoenix, I'll tell you about. Of course, right? Of course. Brace yourself. So you know. So you know. You know. So you know. Strauss Kahn. Yes, the former head of IMF. He had his sexual assault allegation from when he was staying in a hotel in New York, and apparently he put the moves on a housekeeper there. Well, the housekeeper, due to, they said that she, something's up with the housekeeper. She's not.
She's not telling the truth. She's kind of sketchy. She's not credible. Right. She's not credible at all. So he's no longer on house arrest. He's basically in the clear up until now. There is now a French writer, writer, journalist who says that he tried to rape her as well years, years ago, about eight years ago, more than eight years ago. Her name is Tristan Bannon. And she claims it took place, the incident, when she went to interview him in a Paris apartment. And he insisted that she hold his hand. During the interview. And after the interview. He was making advances. She had to fight him off. He tried to undo her clothing. It makes me think. That there's money. And shenanigans involved. In why he's not. Having to pay up. For what happened in New York. Yeah he was almost out of that one. And now this woman. Doesn't it make you think that somebody was paid? I don't know. It's weird that she's just now speaking out about it. I guess she had said something back in 2007, but she didn't say his name. She just said a guy. Maybe she felt compelled when this came out to say something about it. Man, that's weird. I know. So what about DUIs over the break? Arrests over the break? By the way, if anybody is up and you're having to go to work and you're fighting through...
your day because you got to go back to work today we want to hear from you 570-1949 open phones anything you want m1s it's m1 nation you can call in right now 570-1949 or text 949mikey at gmail.com so how did it go well they always compare DUI arrests to the previous year so there were a lot more DUI arrests this year than last year Not a ton more, but there were 95 people arrested so far that they've put the numbers to this year and 86 people last year. Yeah. You got to know on Memorial Day, they're out there looking for you. Yeah. Three fatalities this year. One last year. Not Memorial Day. And Memorial Day. Fourth of July. Yeah. There's cops everywhere. I saw so many hiding, you know, in little hiding spots on the side of the road. Yeah. It's the 4th of July. You got to know. I know. Maria Shriver has officially filed for divorce. She did it on Friday in L.A. Yeah. And she wants to share custody with Arnold. Yeah. Fine. You can do whatever you want. She asked for joint custody for their two minor age kids. They have four kids.
Two of them are grown. And she also requested spousal support, Weird, and asked that he pay all the lawyer fees. Now, their net worth is estimated to be anywhere between $200 to $800 million. Yeah. It went up $100 million when the Criterion Edition version of T2 came out on Blu-ray, available on Amazon.com. Or at any other place that you can buy DVDs. I'm not trying to plug it. Arnold, you sound like you're pitching your DVDs is what it sounds like. I'm very upset about what happened. I'm just saying that if you wanted to see T2, Twins, Terminator 1, Predator, or any of the other films I was in. Kindergarten Cop. Kindergarten Cop. Any of the movies. Am I forgetting any? I'm just saying. Expendables. Expendables. Junior. Junior. Twins. Great movie. In fact, Junior is now going to be available on Blu-ray as well, and you can find it at Amazon.com or anywhere else you would buy DVDs. It's a biopic, right, Junior? Yeah, it's a really funny film. It is a biopic, and I wouldn't have said that to myself, but I'm so glad LOB brings it up because you can find it right now, available on regular edition, standard edition, with all the extras added in and me doing commentary right now on Amazon.com or anywhere that you would buy DVDs. Arnold, you don't sound...
super upset about your divorce. You sound more like that you're wanting to pitch some stuff. Are you fake crying? Are you fake crying? No, I'm really upset. You guys, what is the deal, Sienna, with the granny that got into some sort of an argument with her grandson over bacon? Mikey. Really? Well, apparently this grandmother was very upset that her grandson, who's nine years old, ate too much bacon at breakfast. So what did this 63... It was a king-size breakfast. That's what I used to have when I was a kid. I got one king-size meal a day, and maybe that's what it was. Did you? Really? He's allowed to have one. Whether or not he snuck more... You know how you know that you're a fat child? If you have to negotiate one king-size meal...
Do you remember off the top of your head what a king-size meal would be? Yes. Why are you going to force me to have this? Okay, so for breakfast you have cereal. That's not a king-size meal. No, no, no. It was always breakfast. I'll admit it. So what was your king-size breakfast every day? We have to do this? Yeah. The people want to know. By the people? Who's the people? Every person with their radio dial tuned to 94.9 wants to know. what Mikey had for his king-size breakfast. Detailed. Fried, frozen potato, potatoes, which were like French fries. Right. Eggs, bacon, tortillas. Oh, gosh, man. Every morning? Not every morning. Did you ever have a king-size lunch? Rarely. King-size dinner? Yeah. Daily. Yeah, sometimes. This is the greatest. Special occasions when you guys went out. There were some sizzlers. Sizzlers! Did you not, in fact, sneak one day and get two king-size meals, one including a trip to Sizzler? Yes, Miss Callout. Yes. That is, in fact, true. Back to the... Okay. So the grandma was mad that her nine-year-old grandson ate too much bacon at breakfast, so this 63-year-old woman...
chased him out of their Pennsylvania home, pinned him down on the front lawn, and blasted him in the face with a garden hose. That's so weird. He was not injured, luckily, but she was busted on endangering the welfare of children, simple assault, harassment, and disorderly conduct. Imagine the thought process, okay? So grandma goes, you know, he's eating too much, and I think it's unhealthy. I'm seeing him gain weight. I'm his primary caregiver. His mother's nowhere to be found. Look at him right now, eating that bacon. Something's got to be done. I haven't thought about it. I really don't have a solution. Ah, I've got it. I'll chase him until I apprehend him, and then I'll tackle him to the ground. Now, all of these things are firing off at one moment. Once I get him to the ground, how can I show him the error?
in his ways. What can I do that will prevent him from wanting more bacon? I've got it. A garden hose to the face. Then he'll see why eating too much bacon is unhealthy. She sat on top of him while she was spraying him in the face and the nozzle setting was on full blast. That's pretty powerful. Why are you spraying yourself? Well, you know you're in trouble if you can't outrun your grandma. Yes. That's true. That's an incredible point. I'm not condoning it. I'm not either, but you're kind of fat if you can't outrun your grandmother. Listen, it's bad what she did. It's not right. Funny. Why is it? You know, I hate when stuff, you know. It's bad and funny. And bad and funny. Because it's funny. M1 Cam from Oceanside. Good morning. We're doing good.
Hey, I just wanted to thank you all. I was the word of the day winner on Wednesday, and I got the four-pack of tickets to the fair. Nice. Me and three of my buddies had the most epic four-day weekend. That's right. Went to the fair on Friday, had a little drink, had some food. We tried almost everything. Oh, wow. What did you like the most? The bacon-covered maple donut. Oh, we had that. We had that. Yeah, we had it. They brought it in. Yeah, that was great. And we capped it all off over the weekend by spending all yesterday at the beach and then chilling out on Tuesday at my buddy's house. So I want to thank you guys for making that all possible. You got it. Hey, how rad was that weather yesterday? Oh, it was so perfect. Oh, thank you for the call. It was 117 degrees in Phoenix. Yes. I mean, I mean. Chilly. Just blazing hot. I mean. Blazing hot. It's like a punch in the face when you open the door. You're like, oh. My brother keeps his air conditioning set to 78 degrees. And let me tell you, that feels so nice. It feels icy cold because it's 117 outside. It's so hot. It's oppressively hot. It makes me wonder how cactus survive. It's so hot you think that they would shrivel and die and they don't.
So we got so much stuff coming up on the show today. It's really, really incredible. Somebody called Princess Diana, an anorexic, bulimic narcissist. And we're going to tell you who that was. It's insane. Did somebody throw up at the Nathan's hot dog eating contest? Did they throw up? Because yesterday we were at the airport and. And Woodsy's wife, Jamie, goes, oh, don't show that. And I looked up at the TV, and it looked like maybe somebody was getting sick, but I don't know. And you don't know, right? I don't know. I DVR'd it. I'm going to watch it later. You did? Yeah, it's my Super Bowl. Okay. Carson is. I'm surprised you're not a competitor. Wow. Shocked, actually. It was a cheesecake eating contest. You probably fake an injury, then.
Wear some sort of boot. Yep. I actually have a broken ankle. Do you? That I'm wearing a boot for. Yes, I do. Bad sprain. What'd you do? Try to run to the drive-thru? You running into Krispy Kreme again, slip and fall? So we'll tell you who it was that called Princess Diana. We'll even play you the clip. An anorexic, bulimic narcissist. Still got to tell you about the drama that took place in Phoenix that Woods had to be. Oh, how uncomfortable. How uncomfortable for him to have to be there for that. We'll tell you. On FM 94.9. Works kind of similarly. We'll explain. Word of the day is sausage. I haven't said it yet. But when I do, caller nine is going to get a pair of tickets to go see L.A. Rising, Rage Against the Machine. Yeah, Rides Against and Miss.
Ms. Lauren Hill at the L.A. Coliseum. It shouldn't surprise anybody. It was Ann Coulter on The Insider that said this about Princess Diana. What is your problem then with Lady Diana, for that matter, the royals? I find it a little baffling when Americans get so gaga-eyed over a princess, and particularly Lady Di, who was just, you know, this anorexic, bulimic narcissist. Well, here's the thing. Ann Coulter, ultra-conservative, blah, blah, blah. She's got a new book out called Demonic, and it's about the liberal left. I'm a conservative, and I think Ann Coulter's a clown. Now, I'm a conservative. The reason I think she's a clown is because I think that that shows poor judgment. And you don't...
get people to take you seriously when you're a pundit and all of your comments are so radically sensational. Maybe, and this could be true, it could be true that Princess Diana was an anorexic, bulimic narcissist. To be honest, I don't know. Maybe Anne knows more than I do. But even if she was, we don't have to say it. It's the equivalent, if she's saying she doesn't tell the truth, it's the equivalent of walking up to your mom and saying, man, Somebody's getting fat around here, huh? Somebody's put on a couple of pounds. And by a couple, I mean 30. What, Mom? What's going on? Sometimes the truth doesn't need to be said, as Thumper's mom taught us. Was it Thumper's mom, Sienna? If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Yeah, in Bambi. I have a question. Did that exist before Bambi? That saying, did it exist before Bambi? Because when we think...
If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Don't we all think Thumper? I do. I do. You don't, L-O-B. You think your mom? Just the old adage, you know. See, because I think Bambi, and I wonder if that's where the adage came from. At least that's where it was popularized. Oh, we've got some interesting texts. Now, if you don't know. Jay provides the texts for us here on The Mikey Show. He'll print them out and hand them to you. The important ones. The ones that are very important for our program. Only the ones that are very important for our program. The topics for us to discuss. Pretty much. Interesting things that happened over the weekend. As Jay Leno would say, yeah. This text says, Mikey, just want you to know, Jay once visited the Virgin Islands, and when he left, they were renamed The Islands. Bravo. Bravo. That's M1 front to back. That was dynamite. Oh my gosh, Jay. This next one says, Mikey, I've got to correct you. Last week you mentioned that Jay got a vasectomy. He actually didn't get a vasectomy. He simply spoke to Kim's womb and said, you will not get pregnant again. That's M1. I'm right. Powerful. And then finally, Mikey J. Isbell made me pregnant.
With his voice. You're welcome. M1Amy. Ridiculous. He's apparently a very powerful man. Dan Fields is our photographer. He's on Facebook and he's also got his website, danfieldsphotography.com. Saw pictures that he took of some fireworks last night that are extraordinary. He's probably the best photographer I've ever seen. And he can be yours. by going to danfieldsphotography.com. I'm dying to tell you what happened over the weekend but can't tell you until 7 because I'm trying to stretch you along. I'm stringing you along in a relationship, M1s. I'm stringing you along. Since yesterday to me, I'm going nuts. And I want to tell you. I want to, but I can't until 7. What I can tell you is a couple of things that happened.
with all of us over the weekend. LOB stayed off Facebook and Twitter and the internet all weekend long. Doesn't surprise me. LOB's very good at shutting her down. And she did, however, check the Casey Anthony trial because she's obsessed. I got into a fight with my boyfriend over it. He didn't want you to? He told me I was unhealthily... Obsessed, or whatever word is the correct word right there. You're obsessed and it's unhealthy. Mm-hmm. And I told him, I don't want to go on a walk with you anymore, and I turned around. Oh, good for you. Wow. I support that decision, LLB. Thank you. Your boyfriend, Matt Commerce, otherwise known as your BFMC. Mm-hmm. Were you walking? We were late to leave for our walk because I had to see the closing arguments. Yeah. And so we started walking down the driveway and he was saying, you know, this poor family and you're just this voyeur and blah, blah, blah. And I said, I don't want to walk with you anymore. The only reason he's saying that is because he hasn't seen a second of it. But if he had, he'd be just as drawn in. See, that was me. Sienna talked about this trial and about this case ages ago. I didn't even, I could care less. All it took was one, one.
Like Dateline NBC or 48-hour mystery or just seeing what this thing was about. I read a deal the other day that said, why are we obsessed with the Casey Anthony trial? Now, many of you aren't. Many of you that are listening right now are not obsessed with it. But if you're curious why I am and I'm a 41-year-old man, the reason is because you have an extraordinarily beautiful young woman who killed her kid. But that's not it. That could happen and no one would blink. What's extraordinary about this is her capacity to lie and to lie convincingly and to lie in such grandiose ways. Her kid was missing 31 days, guys. Her kid was missing 31 days before she said anything about it. And during those 31 days, there's pictures of her on her Facebook in a hot body contest, partying it up, dancing. And she didn't tell any of her friends. She didn't tell her own boyfriend that her kid was missing. Yet there's still, there's still question. Now, she is an attractive girl. There's no doubt. Now, I think she's a beautiful girl, but I was talking to my wife about it this weekend. And I said, in fact, I remember the exact moment. We had just hit the tarmac in Phoenix. And of course we were.
excited because that meant we could find out what the latest was. Oh my God. I know it. Wow. I know. Yeah. You need help. And I said to my wife, I said, why will LOB and Sienna refuse to acknowledge that she's a pretty girl? And my wife said, cause she isn't. And I said, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. She said, girls and guys process beauty differently to a girl. If a girl is an extreme slut or child harmer, we simply can't see the beauty in them. Physically or otherwise. Which just infuriated me. And I told her it was childlike and she brushed me off. That's what she does. She brushes me off. She just walks away from me mentally. Which infuriates me because I'm standing there going, don't walk away emotionally. I want to continue to argue about this. Woods saw Super 8. He called it Super Git. Catchy. Broke your heart, didn't it? Of course it did, Sienna. Of course it broke my heart. I wanted him to acknowledge that it wasn't bad, but that it was fantasy land, but it wasn't bad. He wouldn't do it. What, Woods? What was your problem with Super 8? Where do I start? How long do we have? What's the problem? The monster was my problem. I told you that before we went. You said it was only going to be a second. There was way too much of that monster.
Way too much. And when those eyelids peel back and those pretty brown eyes. That's the part I told you about. It's absurd. Yeah, I agree. It's absurd. Now, what I told Mike after the show, and if you haven't seen it, feast, I'm sorry. But what I told Mike after the show is, hey, if they had delved. Don't give away. I won't. I won't. But if they had delved more into what the little kids captured on the Super 8 camera, I would have been a little more in on it. And I would have been able to look past that ridiculous, ridiculous monster scene. One guy told me, he compared it to the movie Field of Dreams. And he said, and I know this guy, he's on my baseball team. And he said, Woodsy, Field of Dreams couldn't have happened. And I said, dude, but that character in that movie actually existed. Monsters don't exist. That was my, you know, I can separate fantasy from reality sometimes. But not when there's some goofy looking. Monster with his eyes rolling back. Granted. Understanding what a seven-year-old kid is saying to him. Granted. I wish that they redid them. I wish somebody would have been smart enough to say, take that out of the movie. Yeah. And make the monster shadows and mirrors and smoke. I loved the music because it was like in the 70s. Loved the music. Loved the cool cars. And the characters in it were pretty good. You loved the hot sister? The hot sister. But boy.
It lost me. And it lost me quick. And when I looked over at my wife and she goes, when that scene happened that we're talking about, I knew I married the right woman right then. Because I started cackling. Yeah. Loud. Now, we went to a movie theater in Scottsdale, Arizona called IPIC. When you walk into it, it looks like a Vegas nightclub. I mean, but not just a Vegas nightclub, a high class, exclusive, very well put together. extraordinarily sexy nightclub in Las Vegas. At the Bellagio. At the Bellagio. It's legit. Dark and just wood paneled floors. Brush steel. Brush steel and just really cool like drapes and just, I mean, it looks like it cost $40 million as a nightclub. It did. It's got a bar. You walk into this bar and there's flat screens with sports on and for the ladies, You walk into the main area where you get your food and snacks, which doesn't look like an area that you get food and snacks. It looks like a nightclub. And in the middle of the room is this gigantic kiosk. And the kiosk is a wine dispenser with various bottles of wine with straws in them.
And you pick between small, medium, and large. And you take your wine glass and put it underneath and put your credit card in and press the button and it fills it with fine wine. Wow. Wow is right. Oh, and then Sienna, you go into the movie theater and all of the seats are gigantic leather recliners. Whoa. What do you guys, when you guys go to the movie and you want candy, what do you get? Hot tamales, Reese's peanut butter cups. You know what you got here? Tiramisu. You can get tiramisu at the counter. Now, if you're inclined in your movie experience to want the traditional candy, they've got it. They've got it. But they've also got sliders and quesadillas that they bring to your seat. During the movie? Oh, yeah. Did I tell you about the blanket and the pillow during the movie? When you sit in your seat, the leather recliner, it's got a blanket and a pillow when you sit down. Yep. So you put the blanket over you, the pillow, you recline back, a waiter, a waitress comes up. You know how much that costs? $17. And they include popcorn. Wow. Are they in a plastic bag? What? The pillow and the blanket. No. So the bedbugs are free. Oh, gosh, Jay. Oh, boy. He can just find a way. Debbie Downer. How do you ruin that? Yeah. I don't know. He is able to take my joy and experience and somehow find a way to buttercup it.
Yes. And then just rub it all over the face. I felt the same way, though. Well, it's pretty cool. It's freaking crap. Until the blanket and pillow. Everything else. You can. You don't have to use it. You don't have to use it. It's there if you're so inclined. But guys, think about it. When you go to a regular theater, you think you're not sitting on filth? Oh, I'm sure. Yeah, same deal. But anyway, so they bring you the food. They do all that stuff. The thing reclines back. How do they know where you're sitting? When they bring you the food. Because in order to go to this theater, you register online. And when you buy tickets, it's like buying tickets on an airplane. You get your seat assigned to you. So when you order your food before the movie, they know exactly where you are. Absolutely. They can find you in the dark theater. Was it annoying when they're walking around? Slightly. Yeah, I could see that being a little bit annoying. It was slightly annoying, but not too bad. And by the way, you want a beer? You want a glass of wine? Of course. You want a martini? You want a shot? You want a kamikaze? They had a full bar. This is a nightclub. It's like a nightclub. I mean, it would blow you. Like, we walked through with our jaws dropped open. I said, how is this not happening in San Diego? Yeah. So do you have to be over 21 to go to this? That's a good question. I don't know. That's a great question. All I remember is there were some little dimes working there, too. Oh, boy. Of course you remember that. In other words, they were 10. Yeah. Yeah. Very cute. Right up your alley.
Yes. My wife, Sally, too. There was, you go into this lounge area, that a dude with a Taylor guitar just playing music sweetly. Get out of town. Just playing jazz. And this was at 12 o'clock in the afternoon. I was like, what is this like on a Saturday night? This is brilliant. Was it packed? Brilliant. No, dude, it was not. And we asked, how come it's so empty? She said, because it's 117 degrees outside. Imagine San Diego, though. Where it's 70 degrees outside. And people like to go to the movie and blah, blah, blah. I mean, that heat was oppressive. It was so hot. It was so hot when we were in Phoenix. It was incredible. I want to go. We had appetizers. We had a full meal. They need robots to deliver the food. That's the only thing they should work on. I agree. They had robots delivering it. Because I will say this. During one of the really exciting scenes in the movie. The girl comes up and she goes, so what I did was I went ahead and put your check here. And if you want, you can just, you can wait until the movie's over when the lights are on and then you can sign. And there's like explosions on the screen. And I'm like, uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh. Get. Yeah. Yeah. But other than that. My only complaint was that they didn't come pick up the food.
after you were done with it so it started to kind of smell they did it just took a while yeah yeah it took a while should be a button my only call button absolutely i said it needs a button system what said there needs to be a button you press it started to smell it did but i mean if you think about it If you think about it, how much would you be willing to pay for that kind of an experience? And it's $17. That's awesome. You're already paying, what, $10, $12? They throw in the popcorn? Yeah, just should have seen a different movie, but other than that. The story that I have to tell you about us going to Phoenix is so much that we can tell you about what happened in Phoenix, which is that we went there to see Jeff Bridges perform his music from the movie Crazy Heart. He was fantastic. He was really good, which, by the way, I didn't think he would be. I had seen a video of him on YouTube doing something similar, and I thought he was terrible. But apparently he's had time to practice and rehearse a little bit. And so he's gotten really good. And so his performance was really great. He played for about an hour and a half, and it was really, really good.
Now, Jeff Bridges is a very, he was, you know, music from the movie Crazy Heart. Jeff Bridges is a little eccentric. Yeah. Now, I and Woods, my wife, his wife, we wanted Bad Blake to come out on stage. And when Jeff Bridges walked out on stage, I must admit, he actually looked like Bad Blake. Beard, mustache, he looked like Bad Blake. Put on an old strat and the big old leather strap on it said bad. It was the same one from the movie. He sang this. I mean, and he sang it good. It sounded like this. It was great, right? But I don't think Bad Blake would drink from an environmentally friendly green canister of water. One of these. And all the rest of the people in the band. I wanted him to come out with a bottle of Jack.
Yeah. McClure's whiskey. And because he's Jeff Bridges and he's very eccentric, in between songs he would go, well, I'm real glad everybody's here tonight. I'm surprised everybody's here. I don't mind people. And then he'd pick up that environmentally friendly green canister of water and he would drink from it, put it down, and he would take a long time between songs to tune his guitar. Yes. One time he made the old mistake of tuning the wrong string while trying to tune the guitar, which took a long time. And then it was just dead silent in there. So the clowns started to come out. Oh, boy. Big Lebowski! Hey, that rug really ties the stage together. Doing bits. Oh, gosh. Hey! Falling and flying!
Falling and flying. How annoying. And Jeff Bridges would go, yeah, that's a good one. What can you say? That's a good one. Shut up. I wanted to crawl under the table. Woods wanted to yell out, maybe let Jeff pick. In fact, I did at the end. There was a woman that was sitting in front of us with three gay gentlemen. And they, she, we don't know if they were gay. Well, he had black jeans on, black boots, and his shirt. Let's say a shirt has eight buttons, a button down. Two of his buttons were unbuttoned. His hair was slicked back, and I think he was drinking Cosmopolitan. Hello. Okay, he was gay. The other two next to her were holding hands. Okay, fine. I grant you that. Here's this woman. Here's this woman the whole time during the show. Jeff's up there playing his song, and she's sitting. I can't believe it. The Billboard is doing something like this. This is really cool. I can't believe it. This is unbelievable. Did you get something to drink mine? I'll get you wine. I hear you so loud. Hey, do you need something? I'll get you something too. Do you want something to eat? I wish that they weren't doing that. True story. Screaming. When he started to play The Weary Kind, which is the theme from Crazy Heart, I did this. I went... He did. He did.
She turned around. She goes, I love him too. Yeah, she did. Do you? Zip your lip. Maybe you get a hoagie. My wife, Rebecca. My wife, Rebecca, has this thing where if you get her started laughing, she can't stop. And I was so irritated at Woods. She couldn't. And she had a glass of wine. Makes it worse. Yes. I got her. There was a guy. There was a guy there and he was wearing a t-shirt that had a picture of like a galaxy. It was a shirt. Button down shirt and it had a picture of like a galaxy on it. Napoleon Dynamite? And Woods leans over to my wife and he says, oh, I guess the Milky Way shirt must have been dirty. And Rebecca had wine in her mouth and she went into her glass. And then she couldn't stop because she kept thinking about it. And she'd see him. He'd walk past. He'd walk past. I'd go, hey, babe, is my Merlin shirt out of a dry cleaner? It's not. What about my sorcerer with the dragon? No, I'll just wear the solar system shirt to the Bad Lake show. Now, when we come back, I'll tell you about one of the most uncomfortable situations. Yikes. In the history of uncomfortable situations.
And I feel so bad for Woods and his wife, Jamie, because they had to be there and see it all play out. The Mikey Show. I like it. I like it. Be a part of the show. 570-1949. I'm Barbara Brooks, FM 94.9. Woods and I went to Phoenix to see Jeff Bridges in concert. Sienna, what's going on in the news? So you know the case with the missing Indiana University student Lauren Spear? Well, it just got crazier. A female body was found in a creek north of Indianapolis. Right now they're doing an autopsy to find out if it's her. Also, the Secret Service announced yesterday that they're investigating after a Fox News Twitter account was hacked and false updates were posted saying that Obama was assassinated.
Yes. Holy cow. Saying that he was shot to death in Iowa and the shooter was unknown. That was false. Obama is okay. Also, it's going to be 77 degrees in San Diego and sunny today. Nice. Woodsy, what's going on in sports? Sports is brought to say by our friends at Frank's Red Hot. Frank's Red Hot. Get some! Well, we watched UFC 132 this weekend. It was at the MGM Grand in Vegas. We're doing live in July. So we went to Phoenix this weekend, Woods.
And his wife and my wife and I went out to Phoenix this weekend. And just a little background on how this whole thing came up. My brother, who knows that I'm crazy about the movie Crazy Heart. Woods got us all into it. He sent me an email a while back. And he said, hey, check this out. Look what I just found. And it's a link. I go to it and it says, Jeff Bridges performing the music from Crazy Heart. And I went. You got to be kidding me. So I said to Woods, Woods, would you go and your wife go if this happens? And Woods said, yeah, sure. So I wrote my brother back and I said, what do you think of this? If me and Rebecca come out, can Woods and his wife come out and can we stay with you and would you go? And he wrote back and said, yes, yes, and yes. So I went online to buy the tickets and they had.
A VIP, two VIP packages. One of them included front row and get to do a meet and greet with Jeff Bridges and his band. The next VIP package included no meet and greet, but the first five rows. And then there was general admission. Well, the VIPs were sold out. So I purchased the general admission. Now, we have an M1 that has a connection at the Biltmore. And she wrote me and she said, hey, I heard you talking about going to this concert. Do you want? tickets and i said oh we we have tickets i said but you know the vips were sold out we'd love to be close is there any way that you can help us with that well she couldn't get us the meet and greet of the front row but she was able to get us the vip so we were ecstatic right and so uh she said all i need is the names of and you know the way they appear on your on your driver's license so i sent her all of our names
And then as it got closer, I wondered, okay, well, what do we do when we get there? How does this, because all we have is these general admission tickets. When we walk in with them, that's where we'll go. So I wrote her and asked her and she wrote back and she said, don't worry about it. It's all taken care of. You're on this list to be on the VIP thing. And you will get an email explaining what time to arrive, what to wear, what's allowed, what's not allowed, so on and so forth. Okay, cool. I get the email. It explains that due to extreme heat conditions, we must arrive at six and that they've changed the area where you register and check in to an air conditioned area. That's how hot it was, 117 degrees. And so we arrive and my brother has a girlfriend and her name is Natalie.
And we arrive and he had told me that Natalie had moved out to live with him. And I had forgot. So I was kind of surprised by that. Oh, wow. Now you got to know, my brother, he's a pretty private dude in terms of, you know, talking about all that kind of stuff. So, and I'm used to it and it's okay. It's his, you know, it's his deal. Got out there. That Sunday morning, we got out there Saturday night. Sunday morning, the concert Sunday night. Sunday morning, we went to see Super 8. And then after Super 8, we came home. And at 6 p.m., we had to leave the house to go to the concert. Well, around 4 p.m., his girlfriend began to get ready. And there was a voice in the back of my head. And on a scale of 1 to 10, the voice said this. Oh, no. The voice said, Well, she's got to have a ticket somehow. She's got to have a ticket somehow. On a scale of 1 to 10, it was a 1. Now, I'll tell you why it was a 1. I was in denial. I didn't want to take that thought any further because I thought, that can't lead anywhere good. He never asked me. He never told me. He never said a word about her. But she's got to have it. And I'll even say this. At one point.
I overheard him say to her, you have a connection over there, right? And she said, yeah. So I thought, and I'll admit, it was a part of my mind that wanted to think, oh, that must be how she's going. That must be how she's going. So at six o'clock, we embark together, all of us, six of us. And we go out to dinner. And you guys haven't brought up anything. No one said a word that his girlfriend is there? No. Oh, my gosh. Because in my mind, I'm thinking to myself, I'd have a ticket. Of course. Of course she's got a ticket. Of course this has been worked out. It hasn't been worked out to me. I had no idea. You were never told. I was never told. We even made the point of saying in the car on the way to Steve's house, man, this is going to be weird if she stays home. Yeah. Isn't that going to be awkward? And I said,
She'll probably want a night off. She'll get a mani patty. She'll hang out with her girlfriends. Maybe she'll go out to dinner with one of her girlfriends. Yeah. So we go out to dinner. Oh, my gosh. I'm so uncomfortable. Oh, just wait. Oh, no. Oh, no. I can't even look at you. So we go out to dinner. And then we all drive to the venue. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. You waited this long? L.O.B. What am I? Oh, my gosh. I mean, I know where it would go. The old pull aside. Yo, Steve. Yeah. Okay. Hold on. So we get there. We get there. And he drops us all off to go inside. And she's with him. Good sign. And they're going to go park. Good sign. He and her are going to park his car while we go inside. Right. When we went inside, there was a table set up for you to tell your name.
and get your red VIP wristband. And at that point, my wife turns to me and says, how is she going to get in? And at that point, the volume level of my self-conscious was no longer a one. Now it was a 12 and it was screaming at me. And it was fight or flight. It was saying, do something, do something, do something. Oh my gosh. And my wife said, text him. And I said, okay, okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. Would you guys like to hear her? Yeah. Yes, please. I have not been privy to these texts. I can't wait. These are to your brother? To my brother. Who's standing next to you, basically. No, no, no. He's parking. Oh, okay. Oh, my gosh. He's out in the parking lot. We figure we have about a three-minute window before he shows up and there may be a fist fight. So we got about a three to five-minute window before they park and walk down to where we are. Oh, my gosh. And she is with him. The concert starts at 8 p.m.
I texted him at 7.32 as he was parking the car and said this. Hey, man, what's your plan for Natalie? You never told me about her and we have five VIP tickets. I didn't even know she lived out here. This is a text now. Now you say this. Again, in my mind. Oh, my gosh, Mike. Wait a minute. In my mind, I'm thinking she's got to have. And by the way, it only really hit my consciousness at four o'clock on Sunday. Because up until that point, A, I had forgot that he had mentioned that she had moved out and lived with him. He mentioned it once. And the morning of, I called him and she was there and I could hear her. And he even referred to her as my girlfriend. But I didn't think to myself, it still didn't, in my mind, she wasn't going. I understand that.
Okay. In my mind, she wasn't going. It never even occurred to me. Yeah. It didn't occur to me until Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. when she was getting ready. And then I became anxious, but my subconscious told me at a volume level of 1 to 10 at a 1, it's okay. It must be figured out. Oh, my gosh. So, again, I said to him, hey, man, what's your plan for Natalie? You never told me about her, and we have five VIP tickets. I didn't even know she lived out here. He texts back, what? With five exclamation points. Oh, boy. WTF, he says. Oh, boy. Why the face? Yep. Then he calls. The phone instantly rings. You should have called him. Well, I was trying to be discreet. But your first text said too much. You were defensive. I don't even know she lived here. You shouldn't have said that. You're right. You're right.
Well, I mean, wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute. See, if you say that, it implies that I would have had to play some sort of game. And I don't. I'm being honest. It's a true story. I'm being honest. I'm being as forthright and forthcoming as I can be. I'm willing to say everything. But you waited until 28 minutes before the show to say I didn't even know she lived out here. Right. Here's the deal. The only reason that that happened was because when we walked up to that booth to get our little wristbands, there was no more denying the truth. Right. It's kind of like, I think I might have a disease. No, I'm sure I don't. I should stop looking on WebMD because it's just making things crazier. But then I look in the mirror and my face is red with spots and blah, blah, blah. And I'm like, oh, gosh, I can't deny it. Something's wrong. Something's wrong. Yeah. And that's what happened when we walked up to the VIP desk and they said, are all five of you here? And there's six of us. That's when we couldn't deny it any longer. My stomach did a flip, a flip went. And so my phone rang. Mind you, she's sitting next to him.
So I answer the phone and I go, what's going on, man? And he goes, what the hell? You know, he's furious. And I said, Steve, I had no idea that she was coming. Oh, my gosh. And he goes, really, dude? Really? Now I'm searching myself. I'm like, I'm doing an inventory. And I'm like, oh, gosh, where did you fail? Where did you fail? I'm thinking about emails that have gone back and forth. I'm thinking about phone calls that didn't happen. Emails that didn't happen. Girlfriends that weren't mentioned. Girlfriends that weren't mentioned. Now he's on the hot seat. And he's sitting next to her. Yes. Now, what he can't say is, oh, I guess I never did mention her. Right, because she's right there. She's right there. And so I go, dude, I said,
I don't know what I did wrong. You got to tell me, what did I do wrong? He goes, whatever, dude, have fun. And now my feelings are hurt. I'm sad. My brother is not going to be there. And I'm fearful that I've done something dreadfully wrong when my interior is telling me I have not. So I'm angry. And you're staying at his house. And we're staying at his house. And he says. Just call me when it's over so that he can come pick us up. That was nice of him. Yeah, it sounded nice. Just call us when it's freaking over. Have fun. He hung up on me. So I told Rebecca and Rebecca says, babe, we can't do that. We can't call him. We'll just take a cab. So I texted him and I said, we can take a cab home. Not I'm so sorry about this. Hang on. He wanted a call back.
Hang on. Oh, no, he didn't. Oh, no, he didn't. I know my brother. He didn't want to call back. He didn't want to call back. Hell no. I would have. Well, he didn't want to call back. When my brother hangs up, like girls will hang up on someone because they want you to chase them. Guys hang up on somebody because they want you to go away. So I said, we can take a cab home. And he says, K. Just text back the letter K. And I, now. By this time, Bad Blake is being introduced on stage. Jeff Bridges. And I'm texting back and forth with my brother. Yep. And my heart's pounding. And I say to him, I would have bought her a ticket had I known. I had to submit names. I don't even know her name, bro. I had no idea she lived here. Now, that's not true because, well, I didn't think I knew. But he says that he told me when he was here three months ago, which he probably did, and it's my failure.
That I forgot. Question. Did you send an email or call your brother before all of this had happened and asked him his exact name on his driver's license? I believe so, but I don't remember. Because if you had done that, then it's clearly his bad for not being like, oh, and by the way, Natalie's name is this, you know? Yeah. Well, I was privy to an email chain. I was on an email chain about the extreme heat. And it says in there, hey, you're all set. Here's your five tickets. This is who's going. Never once was he like, oh, dude, we got to get one for Natalie. Never once during the day of the show did he say, oh, we got to get one for Natalie. We got to get her in there. Never once. Never once. He was on the chain that said, here's your five tickets. Yeah, but he didn't read it. He says, or I said to him, I don't have your address for the cab. He wrote back and said, I told you and Mark in San Diego. Mark's my brother. I told you and Mark in San Diego that she lived here. Now, he's probably right. He probably did tell me that, and I probably forgot. That's mean. What is? You forget that he is in a serious relationship. No, I'll tell you why. I'll tell you why. It would be mean if you forgot that your sister was in a serious relationship. And the reason that it would be mean is because you guys talk about that. With Steve, he doesn't mention...
anything. That's why you shouldn't have forgotten because he told you and that should stand out. You know, I hear that, but I'm telling you the truth. I didn't. And I would. I believe I would. And the reason I believe that I would is because of prior experience. Now, there's no doubt about it. I forgot he mentioned that. And in the past three months, he hasn't been like, man, Natalie really left his laundry out. No, no, no, no, no. Oh, my God. So I texted back and said, bro, I promise you. And then I put in all caps. I promise you. I had no idea. You never mentioned me getting an extra ticket. I didn't know. Now we all feel bad. We didn't know. I'm trying to figure out my failure. He says. We're over it. Have fun. I said, please send your address so we can get home. This trip is ruined. You said that? Yes. And then I said this because this was my mad. This was my mad. This was my mad moment. I said, so, you know, I will explain to Natalie how you don't explain anything. And I had no idea. She can decide for herself. Oh, boy. Oh, boy.
Shouldn't have probably said that. I shouldn't have. I'll tell you why. It isn't right, but I'll tell you why. The reason is because at this point, Jeff Bridges is on stage performing his opening song and I'm feeling like a monster texting back and forth with my brother. When you flew all the way to Phoenix to see Jeff. Yes. Which sucks because it was ruined a little bit. And he responded with his address only. Well, in his mind, it was ruined for him, too. Yeah. And he hosted you guys. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I texted back, we shouldn't take the fall for your deal. Oh, boy, Mike. Why? He texted back, front door will be open. Will it? I texted back. He's taking the high roads now, and you are taking the low roads. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. How well do you know your sister? Very well. Very well. Scale of 1 to 10. 11. Me too. Then I said, Steve, it's not fair. You're playing the victim, Mike. I have a question. Hang on. Okay. I said, Steve, it's not fair. How was I supposed to know to get that ticket? Which I gladly would have. True statement. True statement. How was I supposed to know out of nowhere? And now we look like jerks.
He texted back with his address again. So I didn't text again. About an hour later, I'd cooled down and I texted back, I'm really sorry, Steve. I let you down. I'm sorry. He said, so am I. Let's move forward. Now, the gallery is now open for questions. So before you went to see Bad Blake, You guys went to dinner, the six of you, his girlfriend included. Yes. Was there ever a moment that you said to Woods or Rebecca, dude, what are we going to do about the girlfriend? Never. So did you think at Woods while you were at dinner? No. And you know why? We had this conversation after the whole thing went down and I said, you know.
When I heard her come in and say, oh, my friend Jane at the Biltmore, you know, she said this and that. And I can just call my friend Jane and I can ask her about this and that. I assumed friend at the Biltmore. And it was a dumb assumption, obviously. But when I heard it, I was like, oh, she's set. She's got a friend there. She's good. And you both thought this but never discussed. I thought that the reality was impossible. I thought that what really actually ended up happening was impossible. There was no way. Right. There was no way that that could be the deal. So in my mind, she's got a way in. And I know my bro. He can get things done. My brother, if he wants to, he'll be at every Super Bowl. That's the way he rolls. He's got connections. He's got stuff. That's the way he works. And there was a very quiet part of me that said, that's got to be the... What can't be a reality, my subconscious said very softly is,
is that she doesn't have a ticket. And that can't be true because she was never mentioned. Right. When you saw her getting ready, my thing is you should have immediately, even if it was from one to 10, a skill of one of worries. I agree. I agree. Hey, Steve, you're staying at his house. I agree. You know, I agree. And the reason that I didn't was fear. Yeah. Oh, I completely understand it. I think it's weird that you ever got your brother just a single ticket. But he was a single guy. But would he ever go anywhere just by himself? Yes. Oh, he would? Yeah. If you called me and were coming to town, I would just think you would assume that I'm going to bring somebody. Well, dude. I mean, if you're going to... I would not go by myself. Wait, wait, wait. If you're going to bring somebody, just heads up so I can buy the ticket. I never... I mean, I would always get a pair. Okay, but he wasn't buying his own ticket. Right. I had to buy the ticket so we'd all be together. And they had to submit names. What an awkward situation. I'm going to go hang out with two other couples. Not at all. It's his brother. And Jay, even if it is, even if it is, all you got to do is say to me, you know, if I'm buying the tickets, all you have to do, I'll gladly, you and a friend. I would just think that you would know. No. You would never assume a pair, ever. He's a 50-year-old single guy. And he's single for a reason. The guy loves his independence. He's never been married. And he invited his brother to come out.
No, I invited myself. Okay. And your friend Woods. And I said to him, will you, I said, hey, can we come out and will you go to the show? And I'll buy your ticket. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it was never, and if he had written me back and said, yeah, man, hey, can you get another one too? Oh, no problem. I mean, I wouldn't even, it wouldn't even have been a question in my mind. Of course I would. But hey, I want to, I want to know what M1s think. Oh my God. I want to, and listen. I will say my failure, I shouldn't have denied it. I should have, even if it was going to result in bad, been better to have bad at the house than bad at the venue. And I have another question for you, which if Steve is listening, he's going to be mad at me for asking. Save it. 570-1949. This is The Mikey Show, FM 94.9. So I got to tell you about AT&T. Bird Sur Shed with the FM 94.9 Authentic Surf Report for a Tuesday morning. Brought to you by Frost Brewed at Coors Light. San Diego's number one beer. Coors Brewing Company, Golden, Colorado. Today the surf is on the smaller side and that's saying something since it's been pretty small throughout the weekend. It's down about another foot or so though running in that ankle to knee waist high range on average. A rare plus on that at the standout spots. Beach breaks most likely to be at the surfable spot again today as that west north west swell remains dominant and touches south crossing it up. Really not much activity for the reefs. Lower tide this morning once again at dawn, slowing all spots down as well. Water temperature remains warm, and we've got some high overcast right now. Looks like it could burn up relatively quickly into another nice day. Water temp hovering in there in the mid-60s to upper 60s, so even though it's smaller, there's still something to ride. A scene for pick a scene that will be played out in this studio on Friday. Okay, so we're trying to decide. You know, and I put my life out on the radio. I tell you what happens in my life. And Woods and I with our wives went out to visit my brother this weekend. Went to see a concert. Got to the venue. And my brother's girlfriend did not have a ticket. Now, I was the one that bought the tickets. So that we could all sit together. We weren't buying separately and end up in different places. So I bought them all and everybody could pay me back kind of thing. And he never mentioned that somebody was coming with him. And in terms of, well, I would just naturally assume and buy an extra ticket. I would never do that because I don't want to end up with an extra ticket if nobody's. And then he's like, what's the extra ticket for? Well, I just assumed you would bring someone. No, I'm not bringing anybody. Well, I guess I'm out the money for that.
He never told me he was bringing anybody. And if he had, absolutely, I would. I'm not paying for it. He's going to pay me back. What do I care? I'll buy you however many you need. Just pay me back. Whatever. He never mentioned it. Well, when we got to the venue, there was no ticket for her. And while they were parking the car, I texted him and told him that. And he called me back furious and said, I should have figured it out. It's his girlfriend. What did I think was going to happen? And so I've been doing the same. Oh, am I wrong? Did I screw up here? What did I do? And, you know, as I play it back, I still can't figure it out. I still can't figure out. But I want to know what people think. 570-194-9. Or if anything like that's ever happened with you. But I feel terrible. Now she must think that I purposefully didn't get her a ticket. I mean, what would the question be? Did you tell him to get me a ticket and he didn't? I can't see how he would say, no, I actually didn't. I actually didn't tell him to get you a ticket. You know why? Maybe he will say that. Maybe he'll go, I just assumed he knew. Yeah. He will probably say that. You, Michael Esparza, are a hero. Oh, my God. Hold on. Let me finish. That makes me creeped out. You are like the Secret Service. How? Because.
You did not know about said girlfriend. Okay. Your brother for not saying, hey, by the way, get a ticket for my girlfriend, Natalie, who lives with me. Your brother is, in fact, and I love him. He's awesome. A monster for not getting a ticket for his girlfriend, taking care of his business. But how does that make you? You took a bullet for that guy. How? Because now he gets to go to her and say, yeah, my brother's just a jerk and he forgot. Of course I mentioned you, babe. Of course I did. You're my girlfriend. But what's the opposite of that? What else could I have done? You mean I'm a hero for not going to her and saying... Yes. You took a bullet. Which is what I threatened to do, by the way. I know. I threatened to do that. But you didn't do it. He was at a podium giving a speech. You jumped in. You took the bullet. Now, Steve, it sucks because they're conspired against you, even though Steve knows in his heart, Mike didn't do anything. I should have freaking told him in the email, in the 16 emails leading up to this trip to make sure he has one for my live-in girlfriend. If I'm his girlfriend, though, when he says to me, I just assumed he would know to get you a ticket, if I'm his girlfriend, I'm like, I wouldn't. That's what I'd say in my head.
See, here's the thing. Matt and I lived together for a year. And if my brother was coming to town with his wife and then two of their friends who were a couple and he was going to buy me a ticket, I would assume that he would have bought one for Matt. But I guess I would have made sure. But that was because he's met the family. They know we live together. We talk about it all the time. So my question would be, could there be any sliver? of steve that did that um that purposely didn't mention it to see well he will just do that you know because like a test yeah like some sort of way that he would just be like well he would know because we live together so he better treat my girlfriend as important as you know it wasn't a test i think that what happened was he forgot yeah Do you think that he knew he forgot and also thought that maybe you had some strings to pull at the front and it wouldn't be a problem? I think he did what I did. Assumed? I think that he got an inkling and suppressed it and went, that can't be the case. Why wouldn't you, as soon as you walk in the house and you see her there, like, oh, wow, he's got a girlfriend living here. I would immediately ask him, what's she going to do while we're at the show? Bro, that's a great question, Jay.
we, before we even went there, said, isn't it going to be awkward tomorrow? But I would have said it to him. I mean, my brother's like, dude, what's the story? What's she going to do? And then he'd go, oh, she's coming. I'll tell you the reason that I don't say that to Steve, because he does, he'll do stuff that I think is very different than I would do with my gal. You know, that was not unusual. The fact that she wasn't going to go didn't strike me as out of character. That's weird. Not at all. Not for him. Not for him. If it were, you know, and I don't ever hear about it. I don't know about it. I don't have, you know, like. You and Rebecca, package deal. Sienna and Todd, package deal. LLB and Matt, package deal. Same with me, same with you and Kim. Yes. Package deal. You get one, you're going to get the other one, period. And even if the cases were, even if it was reversed, and we're going to take phone calls because now people are lighting up. 570-1949.
even if it was reversed, and he said, hey, concert out there, bringing my friends, can we stay with you? And by the way, do you want to go? I'd answer yes. And I would say, even with him fully knowing about my wife, obviously, I'd still say, hey, can you get Rebecca a ticket? Since he's paying. Hey, can you get Rebecca a ticket? I wouldn't assume you're going to buy that ticket for my life. And I didn't even know about the loved one. I didn't know about the loved one. Now, he says he mentioned it once months ago. He doesn't talk about his romantic stuff ever. We will talk every once in a while. He and I will talk, not that often, but we'll talk every once in a while. And that's one thing that he's told me before is sort of off limits. And he says that it's off limits. And the reason it's off limits is because he doesn't want people. Asking him questions and him having to answer, which is fine. It's his prerogative. He's an adult. I don't. But listen, I didn't know, man. I didn't know. 5701949, M1, Nate from Oceanside. Nate, go ahead. What do you think? M1, Lizzie from Encinitas. Well, I think that, you know, you're not a mind reader, but waiting until you got to the concert was probably your bad.
It was. It was. Waiting for the concert to mention something's going to make an annoying situation. It was denial. I kept thinking to myself, this is not, this is taken care of. This is not, this is taken care of. Yeah, I think that threw you at wrong. Yeah, I did. I did. No doubt about it. I should have, I should have said, hey, what's the deal? You might have been able to make a phone call at that point and see if you could discover a ticket, not one down. Oh, I tried to get one. Yep. But I mean. hours before the show instead of while he's on stage i think they're you know once this is what this is the difference to you guys is that we were all um talking earlier in the day about man let's try to get there close to showtime so we don't have to wait around and it's hot she full-on heard mikey making calls to the the hotel to find out hey can you tell me what the dress code is hey can you tell me what this isn't doesn't she have a responsibility too to be like no she assumed am i good care of business yeah She assumed her boyfriend got her a ticket. Didn't she have a responsibility to go to her boyfriend and double check and make sure? Not if he was saying, hey, we're going to a concert on Saturday or Sunday and you're not going to be there. I feel bad for her. Oh, I do too, man. That sucks. I do not. I do, man. She didn't have any part in it. Yeah, what did she do? She said I look like Kevin James, so that's my problem.
A fat Kevin James, though. Oh, wow. Wow. Monster Jay. Jay's just swinging a samurai sword today. Now, M1 Lynn from San Diego. Lynn? Hi. Hi. Yes. Hi. Good morning. I'm listening to it in the car on the way somewhere, and I was just thinking that your brother just made a big mistake, a simple mistake, but he just should have said, can you get us? tickets he said can you get me he should have said us no he never he never said can you get me i i said can we come out stay with you and do you want to go so he never requested anything i asked him oh yeah i asked him hey do you want to go not do you and natalie want to no not do you and natalie want to go because i had forgot that she even lived out there she was a fictional character in your mind basically who the hell's natalie yeah yeah it's gonna blow over It will. It will blow over. It was very uncomfortable when we got home from the cab. And we walked in the house. And Mikey ran to the back room and left me standing there with a bag full of snacks. And I was like, hi, Steve. How are you? I thought in my mind, would it be wrong for me to say, hey, do you want to watch Crazy Heart? Oh, my God, Woods. You should have gotten to Hotel Woods. Me? Why? What did I do? I'm just throwing that out there.
I thought about sleeping in the front yard. We all were very uncomfortable. M1, Linda from Elfin Forest. Hey, Mikey, I love you guys. Oh, thank you. Okay, here's the deal. You said your brother is so connected. He can be at the Super Bowl every year if he wanted to. If that's the case, there is no way that he's going to walk into this situation just assuming that magically her name is going to be on the list. He should have known better. He made... I think we both did. I think we both made subconscious moves. We both went subconsciously, he's got this covered. And he said subconsciously, he's got this covered. You know, it takes a little bit of jumping through hoops and you're relying on, you know, you said some M1 had the connection and that's what kind of bumped you guys up to, you know, from general admission. You know as well that it's not easy just to, you know. Plus one. That's not the way it works. And I tried, by the way. I tried. And I felt so bad trying. Oh, gosh. It's obviously your brother's gig. He made some sort of decision. And if I were Natalie, the girlfriend, I would see right through the whole situation. It's a really terrible thing that your brother did. Well, maybe she does. I don't know.
But thank you for the call. Yeah. Oh, man, did I feel bad when I went up to the girl and I was like, hey, I messed up. We have one more. Is there any way? And she was like, you should have seen her face. I don't blame her. I don't blame her. I don't blame her. I don't either. I mean, I mean, yeah, it was it was the face of like, oh, you know, like we can't. And I don't blame her. Of course they can't. This place was. It was very. you know, very cool thing that had been sold out for a while. There was, we got to meet the M1s that won and went out there and we met them outside in the, it had really cooled down to 101 degrees by the time we went outside at 9, 10 o'clock at night. Because you guys brought jackets. Yeah, sweaters, you know. And they didn't even know, you know, what had gone down. But I mean, you know, I'm sitting there, I'm trying to enjoy the concert. It was hard.
But this is all that's going on in your head. It was hard for me to enjoy it knowing that he wasn't enjoying it because that's our bit, man. Bad Blake's our favorite thing. Yeah. And I'm looking over at Mike and he's just like, I can see the wheel spinning. I'm like. You guys are kind of like one. So it's like when one of you is hurting, you can't help but have the other one to be hurting. So you feel his pain. Did he pay you back for the ticket? No. I didn't ask. And the reason is because he bought something that was 20 bucks. And I had told him beforehand anyway, I said, let's just call the concert ticket even. Why would he have to pay you back? Of course he would not need to do that. You're staying with him. Yes. Yeah, of course. Come on. He is the cheapest man alive. Yes. What is wrong with you? Zero social graces. Oh, my God. 570-1949. If you have a guy question for Woods, call us. 570-1949. You have a guy type question about style, about dating, about any of that stuff. Woods, he's our guy's guy. He's our sports guy. He answers all those types of questions. You go to MikeyShow.com if you want to ask. This first one says, Woods, what are your thoughts on the truth comes out when you're drunk? I have an ex.
that I touched base with about a week ago. She texted me at 12 in the morning and we stayed texting until 2 a.m. And she was saying things like, she wishes things were different, she wishes we would have worked out, and how much she misses me. Then the next morning I get a text saying, I was so drunk last night. But she doesn't mention anything about what she said. Do you believe that someone who is intoxicated has these feelings inside and just doesn't have a way to communicate it while she's sober? So she says it when she's drunk. Do you think she's just blaming it on the alcohol because she's afraid of what I may think? I'd love your thoughts on this. Thanks, M1 Anonymous. Woodsy. I'm beating my head against the wall because I think there is no clear answer. It's not the answer he wanted, but there is no clear answer. I am a gentleman who drinks and says nasty stuff, mean stuff. It's been known to happen. I don't feel that way. I don't really feel that way. I am also a gentleman who has drank and spilled my guts and told my true feelings. There's no, it's a person to person thing, in my opinion.
It just depends on the person. And what I would say based on my experience with this, being that it's a woman calling you drunk and telling you she misses you, she probably misses you. Based on my personal experience, she probably does miss you. Can I add my two cents to this? Absolutely. I believe that with all of these questions that any person has, not just about this, but about anything where you're going, I wonder if, I wonder if. And you're sort of in that gray area. You're trying to decide. The best way to decide is to do it just like a trial. What you do is you take a look at the evidence. What is the evidence? And then weigh the evidence with your own common sense and discernment. Okay? Now, what I would say about this one is, the evidence is that she wrote him and said, I wish things were different. I wish that it would have worked out. And I miss you. And this happened between midnight and 2 a.m. That's part of the evidence. Part of the evidence is that she was drunk. The other part of the evidence is that they're no longer together. Then the next morning comes the most compelling piece of evidence. Because the next morning when she texts, I was so drunk last night. She's actually...
looking at what she wrote the night before because she texted you and you see the conversation right in front of your eyes which tells you she's keenly aware of what she said she's looking at it therefore and there's something really important about the word therefore the word therefore tells you what it's there for therefore She's not really interested because if she was, she wouldn't have said, I was so drunk last night and she would address these feelings. You would think. I disagree. Okay. I disagree. That's fine. Because of the, when you, if you've ever told somebody in a relationship, especially when there's broken up, there's upper hand. Okay. Because a lot of relationships, you're still talking to your ex. You're still friendly.
There's upper hand. She just lost her hand. She had the upper hand. She's now lost her hand. When she looked at that, she went, holy crap. What did I do? I just lost the hand. He now is in control. I agree. She was embarrassed. She was embarrassed. But I really feel if she wrote it, you have an in. You can get back in if you want to. She also could have been drunk and emotional. Could have been. If it were the other way around, a guy writing a girl. I would say he could have been drunk and horny. Horny. Yeah, he wanted a taste. But not, it's a girl, so I won't say drunk and horny because she probably wasn't horny. Maybe she was. She for sure was. Oh, she was. Absolutely. That's why the late night text. What else did she want at that time? Okay. Hugs. Comfort? No. I'll take it from you gals because you're gals. Okay. All right. But what I am not convinced of is that what she was interested in was him romantically.
Now, I would have thought that if, A, it wasn't a drunk dial and it wasn't the next day you got the – see, when somebody says, oh, I was so drunk last night, there's something implied. And the implication is, oh, just so you know. I don't remember anything. She's embarrassed. She's embarrassed. So what she wants to do is, like, maybe he didn't immediately give it back because he was confused. So she's, like, trying to discount what she said before she gets, you know, too deep in. Well, could be. She's letting him off the hook by that. Yeah, I would go over there and get some. 100. Of course you would. Did you know that somebody prank called Michael Jackson as Akon? And he bought it. And they recorded it. And they were even making, like... Kitty jokes with him and stuff. And he thought this was Akon. Oh. Amongst other things that this person was doing. We actually have the audio. Because the Michael Jackson estate is suing him. Oh. And we have the conversation. We'll play it for you next time. Be a part of the Mikey Show now. Call 570-1949. From somebody pretending to be Akon, I couldn't tell you what Akon sounds like. Hello. Texy, that's what he sounds like. Then it must mean he's a black dude. Sienna? A court-ordered search of some vaults beneath the temple in India. They found some serious treasure after this. Rubies, sapphires. LOB, replicas of coconut shells made of pure gold, worth $11 billion, all of these treasures combined, which are going to be staying there. Also, be careful if you're in the water. There are some sharks. They're saying this could be the second largest shark ever found off the coast of California. It's a basking shark. They can grow up to 40 feet. They're looking for this shark. It's been spotted, so be careful. You're going to need a bigger boat. Also, today's... 25. Three tons of them. Nike. It's also going to be 77 degrees and sunny here in San Diego today. I love it. Woodsy, what's going on in sports? Well, the sensational Serbian. Every time you say Serbian now, all I can think of is you saying that Jay pantsed you last week and that you looked like a 40-year-old Serbian. Yeah!
I haven't manscaped in a while. But the sensational Serbian Novak Djokovic won his first Wimbledon title by beating Rafael Nadal 6-4, 6-1, 1-6, 6-3. Killed it. Yes, he did. And this is an interesting story out of the NFL. There is a group of retired players, including Franco Harris, Marcus Allen, both Hall of Famers, that are asking the collective bargaining agreements to stop because they say they are being excluded and their benefits are being... You're listening to The Mikey Show. I'm Mikey. That's Woodsy. That's L-O-B. That's Sienna. And Jay is our producer. Our phone screener is Chris. That's Kraft. So Michael Jackson, before he died, was prank called by a guy, I believe, named Ralphie G. And he called him pretending that he was Akon. How you doing? I'm doing great. And yourself? I'm doing for Akon. Yes. Let me ask you this. Yes, go ahead. Where did you see me last? At the Bellagio. That's right. Now, let me ask you this. I'm trying to figure out why you don't sound just like yourself today. I'm trying to figure out, is it the phone? It might be the phone. I'm actually in the air right now using one of those airplanes. You're in the air? Yeah. Oh, okay. I was saying, is somebody pretending to...
Okay, it changes the tonality of your voice. I see, I see. Yeah. So... I want to make history on this one, Akon. Well, let's do it, Michael. I mean, I don't... And he did record a song with Akon. Mm-hmm. See, really, what can stop us? Nothing can stop us. Hopefully. And we want the world, and that's what we're going to do. We just have to... I want you to pull from your gut and your soul and see it done already, like in your imagination. Just see it accomplishes. You know, setting world records. We could do this. If Oprah can do it, we can do it. If we can do it? If Oprah did it, we can do it. It was an impersonator. Now, when it first happened, Michael Jackson's people released this thing that said it wasn't even Michael. He was using a Michael impersonator to do... Well, now they've come out his estate and said, oh, it was Michael. Not only was it Michael, we're suing him, this impersonator, for selling this prank phone call. That's, I don't know. That's funny. How do you get Michael Jackson's phone number? How do you? How do you get that number? And he's prank called a lot of famous people. This guy, Ralphie G? Yeah, he's gotten through to Donald Trump, Paris Hilton. I don't know where he gets the numbers. He's a beast. That's powerful. How do you get those numbers? The funny thing is, is he used his normal voice. It would be like if I called.
You know, Michael Jackson's like, hi, this is Akon. How are you? I mean, it sounds, you know. Right. I have no idea what Akon sounds like. He doesn't sound like that. Not like that. But Michael Jackson's like, wait a minute. I need to test this. Where were you when we last saw one another? We were at the Bellagio. Okay, yes, that's right. That is you. You sound weird, though. Yeah, I'm in an airplane. Okay, that changes the tonality of your voice. He really wanted to believe it. He did. Sweet. Sweet kid. It's Never Never Land. Believe in things. We're going to change the world. Oh, it's Michael. How do you know we're not going to change the world, Woods? Because you're not. You're dead. Well, yeah, but this was when I was still alive. Right. So how do you know I don't change the world with an Akon song? Well, because you're kind of a clown. That doesn't mean I can't change the world. It's true. You can heal the world. In fact, you said so in a song. Heal the world. Please don't. Let them know. Please don't. But you see? You don't have to. Music can heal the world, Woods. Okay. Woods. What? How come you hate me so much? Why do you hate Michael Jackson's voice so much?
Hang on. I have to sneeze. Yes. Please don't sneeze. Go. Please don't sneeze. Line up. Please don't do it. Please don't sneeze. Please. Huh? What? Come on. Doesn't that get you even just a little bit? You're better than that. I'm not. I'm not better than that. You are. No, sir. I'm worse than that. You're way better. I'm right on par. Please don't sneeze. That's exactly where I'm at. Please don't sneeze. I'm not. Uh-oh. Please don't. Look at the sun. I'm looking at the sun. Here it comes. Please don't. Please don't. Please don't. What's your problem, man? How do you not love that word? What's wrong with you? You're better than that.
Did Michael Jackson give Aaron Carter Coke when he was 15 years old? Now, what is this? Aaron Carter, by the way, is the younger brother of... President Carter. Jimmy Carter. No, who is he? Nick Carter is a backstage boy. Aaron Carter is his little brother. He was famous for a while, dated Lindsay Lohan, all that. But there was a big story. There's some controversy right now because OK Magazine in Australia reported that Aaron Carter got cocaine and alcohol from Michael Jackson when he was only 15. Coca-Cola. Cocaine. Nah, it was cocaine, dog. But Aaron Carter's rep said, no, this is a completely false story. The girl that originally broke the story in Australia said Aaron Carter did tell her in a lengthy interview in Spain that not only did he give Aaron alcohol and coke when he was 15, Michael Jackson also invited Aaron Carter to sleep in his bedroom. And when Aaron woke up in the bedroom doesn't mean with me. And when Aaron woke up at 5 a.m., he found Michael on his bed.
That's because I thought there was a spider on it. I did. I saw it and I thought there was a spider on your bed and I was trying to protect you. Yo, man, I had to put, what you call it, a bureau? I had to put the bureau up against the door, man. No, you didn't. Yes, I did, man. He sold me cocaine. What? I sold it to him. I didn't sell you cocaine. What was it? Legos. White Legos that you told me to snort up my nose? Yeah, but it was a joke. It was Legos. It wasn't anything for bad. It was for good. Why was I up for like 18 straight hours? Because you brought cocaine to my house. You sold me the cocaine. I rang your doorbell. Then you tried to make love to me. No, I didn't. I saw a spider crawl onto your bed. By my bed, you mean down my pants? I met Aaron Carter. We have the same gynecologist. We'll be GYN. When I was pregnant with the twins. You were pregnant? Yes. You don't even have twins. Yes, I do. Prince and Oprah. It's Paris. Paris and Oprah. It's Prince and Paris. And blanket. And blanket.
That's ridiculous. I would never have a kid named Blanket. You do, though. For real? For real. It's his nickname. That's right. Why would I call him Blanket? Because when he was little, there was a blanket over his head. Doesn't everybody have a... Yeah, but everyone does that, and everyone has that. So that would mean every child should be named Blanket. Because every child is... hung over the Paris de Beauvoir in France over the balcony with a blanket on their head. So we met at the OBGYN's office, and that's where we discovered our mutual love for Legos. That's the whole reason I invited him over to the house. That's the code for cocaine. He used to call it Legos. He used to say, you want an eight ball of Legos? And I said, yeah, I want some. I mean, I'm only 15, but... You're 15? That's right. A little old for you. I didn't know that he was 15. How old did you think he was? Eight. Changes the whole game. All right, it's time for pick a scene. Oh, no. Here is the way that pick a scene works. I have two cups. One has all of our names on it, and the other one has a scene from a movie. So I will pick two of us to act out a scene, and then the scene. All right? So.
We'll do this on Friday. Full props. Cross. We'll record it, edit it, put it on the internet. I'm reaching into the basket. And the name that I have retrieved's name is, on the name, on the piece of paper, is that I read. Lauren O'Brien. Lucky. Okay, again. You are performing with the name that I will read to you now, which is named... Mikey. Finally, finally. And the scene that we will be acting out is as follows. The You're My Night in Shining Armor scene from On Golden Pond. Excellent. Do we have the clip of that? Yes, we do. Oh, boy. Night in Shining Armor. That is Catherine Hepburn. Henry Fonda. Oh, wow. It's the movie that won Best Picture. I think Henry Fonda won Best Actor. His daughter won Best Supporting Actress. Catherine Hepburn was nominated. Very dramatic film. And L.O.B. and I will apparently be acting that out. Yes. On Friday. Now, since Catherine Hepburn's voice is one of your specialties, Mike. Yes.
Will you be, in fact, playing the part of Katharine Hepburn, or will I? Well, I think that only makes sense now, doesn't it? Yes. Oh, my God. Which means I will yet again be a man in the scene. Lauren will be playing the part of Henry Fonda, the old 78-year-old Henry Fonda. I'll use J for my muse. Yes. Yes. With the Gilligan hat. The old man glasses, the old cardigan sweater. Oh, God. It's going to be great. It'll be fantastic. I can't wait. All right, so here's what we're going to do. We're going to do something that we heard about from some friends of ours called blood, love, and fame. All right? Here's how it works. Today is the 5th of July. We had a long weekend, 4th of July weekend. Here's what I want to know. Who got hurt, found someone, or met someone famous? Ooh. Who got hurt, found someone, or met someone famous? Again, it's called Blood, Love, and Fame. 570-1949. Did you jack yourself up over the 4th of July weekend? Did you meet somebody who you think might be the one? Or did you meet anybody famous this weekend?
570-1949. Best one wins the prize. We got anything cool? Jay? Absolutely. We have... Let's see what we have. We have a pair of tickets to the ultimate opening day VIP party at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club. That sounds good. July 20th. That sounds good. Free admission and live music and private wagering. Whatever that is. LaToya Jackson. A lot of times people, you know, when... When somebody's passed away, they say that they feel their presence. I would imagine with somebody's presence like Michael, you would often feel his presence. Do you ever? It's interesting. That's a very interesting question because a lot of people don't believe in that. But I do. I'm sorry. I do because I have felt his presence. And when you say that, then they go, oh, my God, she's weird. But it's not. You do. Well, that's not what it took for us to say that necessarily. You feel the presence. You feel someone in the room. You feel him. You feel that. You feel that. And it's amazing. It's a good feeling. Actually, he was seen right after he had passed. He what? Sorry? He was seen. He was seen. That turned out to be Larry King's reflection in a mirror. True story. They did think that they saw him. Turned out to be Larry King in a mirror. Larry King was at this Neverland Ranch filming, you know, from there.
And they thought they saw Michael Jackson. Wait, this is a true story? True story. This is a true story. Larry King was broadcasting live. I thought you were doing a bit. Not doing a bit. Larry King was broadcasting live from Neverland Ranch right after Michael Jackson died. And people thought that they saw a ghostly image walk by. And upon first seeing it, you kind of do. Then what you realize is. The camera is set for you to be focused in on something very close, and the background is very blurry. And what you're seeing is a mirror in the background and Larry King walking in front of the lighting system. And people thought it was Michael Jackson. And by people, I mean Latoya Jackson. At his house. And did you see him? No, I didn't see him. Actually, I talked to him on a walkie-talkie. When I was at his house. For some reason, you know, you hear when a person pass and their spirit and the whole bit. And the lights started blinking off and on. And I go, Michael, is that you? And I heard. And then through the TV, I saw a little silver glove. And I thought, Michael? Is that you? Is that you? Or is that another person associated with a silver glove? I can see it's like one of those 3D images.
If I focused on it, the silver glove would pop out of the TV screen. That's the craziest. One time, I saw a black guy wearing military-looking suit with one glove doing the moonwalk through my kitchen. And I said, Michael? Beat it. Is that you? Turned out. It was another black dude wearing a military-style suit doing the movie. One time I saw this guy and his hair caught on fire. And people were screaming, help him, help him. And I just kept saying, Michael? Say you. Say you. One time I saw a jerry curl float across the living room on fire. Turned out not to be Michael. One time I saw Macaulay Culkin. And he was on the step talking to another African-American. And I said, Michael, what? And he said, sorry, my name's Bob. One time I saw a guy doing his tribute during the Motown 25th anniversary right in our living room. Turned out it was Jermaine. And he was actually doing a tribute to Motown.
I was in the vanity and I was doing my makeup and I said... One time I was talking on the telephone and I could have sworn I heard Michael's voice. And I said, is that you, Michael? And then I realized, no, it's me. I sound just like freaking Michael. And the light started blinking off and on. And I said, okay. If that's you, I want you to blink the lights. You know, you just say something a certain amount of times, and it happens, and it stops. Okay, Michael, if that's you, I want you to do something that will let me know it's you. Hey, Latoya, it's me, Michael. I think that might be Michael. I'm not sure, though. And I kind of felt that his presence were still there because you could feel it, but I also... I've been told that spirits will come around if they feel that they're... First of all, I didn't point out the fact that she said presents. And I thought his presents were still there that he had bought for Christmas. And then she said... Toad. I was toad. She could fill it. I could fill it. I could fill it. I'm not going to frighten you when they feel that you're ready. But yes, I do believe his spirit was in that house because when he passed, because...
When I asked for him, he came. Can you do it now then? Maybe you asked for him now so that we can interview him. Well, I can't do it right now. He doesn't like to be bothered a lot of times. He said that the only time that he would like me to do it is on Memorial Day weekend when a Twilight Zone marathon is on. And just when I'm by myself. That's it. I can't do it. He doesn't like a lot of people. He doesn't like people to know. I mean, and plus, that's rude. Wouldn't you like to spend a day with the Jackson family? No. Because I would. I would just like to spend a day with them. Nice questions. That'd be a reality show I'd watch. A day with the Jacksons. Be careful. I know. What you wish for. Fair enough. Dwight Gooden's on Celebrity Rehab. Dude has been at it for a long, long time. You know who else is on there? Amy Fisher, the chick that shot Joey Buttafuoco. She does porno.
Now, I think part of the reason is because she says she can't get a job. Maybe it's true because she's got a felony record. It's hard to get a job with a felony conviction. And so, you know, maybe she can. I think it's sad that she's got to resort to porn. I think that's bad that she's got to do that because she feels terrible. And she's using drugs. And Dr. Drew, host of Celebrity Rehab, said, are you using because of the porn? She says, yeah. But anyway, Dwight Gooden was on talking about the coke use. You're how old now, Dwight? 46. 46. And how many rehabs? Five. Starting in? 87. Any complete sobriety in that period of time since 87? From everything? From everything? No. No. And the cocaine started at age? At age 20. And it's been a problem ever since? Pretty much off and on, yes. Went four months while we used three days.
Take a day off. We'll basically pass out. My question is, what's it going to take? It's going to take dedication for my part. You're such a nice guy. Do you bullshit people? Do you use your niceness to get away with stuff? People please people. And then you just do your thing? Yes. You had cocaine in your urine. It was. Are you sure? Cocaine as in the drug? Are you sure someone didn't just knock over their stash into my sample? Are you positive? Is that what you mean there was cocaine in my urine? Like, in other words, yeah, like L.O.B. said. So, in other words, there was a cup of my urine and somebody accidentally poured their cocaine into it? I'd hardly say that's my fault. I mean, if you guys don't have people watching to make sure that the cocaine stash doesn't get near the urine samples, you can't really put that on me. You can't put that on me. It's not my fault. Yeah. The thing is, I'm not... Yeah, I love Dr. Drew's answer. Oh, my gosh.
Okay, there was coke in my urine. Okay. Coke in my urine, too. A lot of coke in my urine. What are we going to do about it? Do you want it? It's on. Duh. Winning. Coke in my urine, duh. Why don't you tell me something I don't know? Like there's not coke in my urine. Now that would shock me. I'm consistently happy in my own skin, if that makes sense. I get that. I deal with guilt. Those are my things. What are you guilty about? Just the way things start out. I left my kids and my first wife for cocaine. Even though they forgave me. My kids still love me. Everybody's great. But I have a hard time forgiving myself for those things. Imagine protesting something that you think is wrong and then dying because the thing that you were protesting is the very thing that would have saved your life. We'll tell you what that is when we come back.

Because the very thing that you're protesting is the very thing that would have saved your life. Here is what we are talking about.
State troopers in New York say a motorcyclist participating in a protest ride against helmet laws died during the event this past weekend. It's a tragedy, but whether or not a person wears a helmet, the government should not be involved in that. Everybody should have the choice of wearing a helmet or not wearing a helmet. You know, I went to Florida this year, we rode 2,000 miles, and a lot of the time I didn't wear a helmet. I loved riding in a state that I didn't have to wear it. I guess I would go without it once in a while if I felt to, if it wasn't a law here. 55-year-old Philip Contos was riding with about 550 other motorcyclists in the Independence Ride, an annual event organized by the local chapter of the American Bikers Aimed Toward Education. State troopers say Contos hit his brakes. Then his motorcycle fishtailed out of control, and Contos flipped over the handlebars of his Harley Davidson. His head hit the ground, and he was eventually pronounced dead at a hospital. The organizers are saddened by Contos' death, but they still oppose the mandatory helmet law. See, it's tough for me because I think about it and I say, well, that in terms of the helmet law, this is what he's proved. Had he been wearing a helmet, it may have saved his life. But shouldn't it be up to the person that's riding the bike, the motorcycle, to decide for themselves whether or not they wear the helmet? Because if you don't decide for yourself...
Aren't you having a freedom taken away from you? That, you know, it's America. What about safety belts? Welcome to America. What about kids in kids seats? I would say the same thing about a person wearing a safety belt. I wouldn't say the same thing about a child. Because now you're talking about endangering someone else because of your decision. But if you are putting yourself in peril by not wearing a safety belt, that's your choice. I don't think you should be able to put that choice on someone else. But if you're choosing to ride your motorcycle without a helmet, you're putting yourself in danger. Yeah, but it's America. You're allowed to make that choice. You're not doing something, well, at least until we made the law, you weren't doing anything illegal. Right, but when I get in my car after the show today and drive home, if I don't have my safety belt on, I'm going to get a... freaking ticket that's going to be expensive oh right and what i'm saying is is that there was a time where there was no helmet law there was no seat belt law right why one and not the other well and i'm saying if i had voted yeah on that i would have said i say we keep government out of it and we make our own choices the only time i think that government should step in is when it does have to do with hurting someone else now a kid
I think it's our responsibility as a culture to protect our children. And if some parents don't see fit to protect their child, then I think that government has a responsibility to protect the child. But if it's somebody making a decision for themselves, I don't know. I mean, I think that that's your God-given right. You know, with the seatbelt and with the helmet. M1 Riches from Sereno Valley. Good morning. Good morning. You know what? I was listening to you, and I completely agree with you. Keep the government out of it. And I believe you should let the strong survive, the strong and the smart survive. So, therefore, if you don't want to wear a helmet and you die because you didn't, hey, it's a natural consequence. And, you know, the smart and the strong will survive. This also goes back to, remember last week on your show, how you were saying, oh, with kids, we used to ride in the back of trucks. And remember that little...
thing that you read off last week? Yeah. It kind of goes back to that. It's the government stepping in. Now we're not allowed to ride in back of trucks. Why? Because somebody got hurt. Now we have to wear seatbelts. Now we have to be in car seats. Our kids have to be in car seats because the government is not, you know, stepping in. And I agree with protecting our children. I just don't believe government should step in when we're over the age of 18 and say, wear a helmet. I don't think that the government should step in when it comes to our personal. Because if that were true, if we were to follow that logic, we would outlaw cigarettes today. Because cigarettes are proven to kill people. In fact, I would be willing to bet that cigarettes probably kill more people annually than people that are riding in a car without a seatbelt. I don't know. But I'm just saying you're probably right. And I don't think that we should outlaw cigarettes. It's your right. If you want to smoke, you can smoke. I would be OK with putting a warning label on a seatbelt that says, if you don't wear this, the chances of you dying go much higher. I'm fine with that. And I'm fine with helmets saying.
The non-use of this product could result in your death. Then they should do the same thing with marijuana. What do you mean? Hey, it's bad for you. That's what they're saying. It's bad for you. The difference between... Well, wait a minute. It's only bad for me. It's only going to hurt me. Let me ask you a question. Are you now admitting to me that marijuana is bad for you? No. That's what I'm saying. Well, then how can you make that point? If it's not bad for you, how can you make that point? Because they're the ones saying that it's bad for you. They're like, hey, if you smoke this, it'll, you know... It isn't legal. It isn't legal. Well, neither is riding without a helmet. But you're saying that – You're saying take something that isn't legal and make it legal. Whereas this is reversed. This is something that wasn't – It's illegal to ride a motorcycle without a helmet. You're saying – It is now. It is now. It's been outlawed. It's been stopped. At one point, you could – there was marijuana and there was hemp fields and everything growing. Well, what you're suggesting is – starting to do something that isn't already happening in other words you're in your example it would be like this you didn't have to uh not wear a helmet before and now you get you don't have to does that make sense in other words uh uh marijuana is not you can't do it right now right okay and it used to be that you didn't have to wear a seat belt now you have to we're forcing you to
Okay? And what you're suggesting is we're forcing you to not do something right now with marijuana. Right. Okay? And I'm trying to think of a precedent like that. Where is there a situation where you're not allowed to do it and then we make a law that allows you to do it? Prohibition. Prohibition. Which I would have voted no on. And look at it now. I agree with Jay. I think alcohol is more dangerous than pot. Sure. Can be. Can be. Can be. Yeah, I think alcohol can be more dangerous than pot, but I don't advocate the legalizing of things that are illegal right now. I don't think there can be an example of something that you can offer to me that I would go, it's illegal right now, but I think it should be legal. Well, the reason marijuana is listed as illegal is because they say it's bad for you, which is the same thing. They've got statistics that they say show. Same thing with riding a motorcycle without a helmet. It's statistics show that you're like your chance of dying are a lot higher. So using those two things, they should both be illegal. Women voting. Yeah, that should be illegal. Just kidding. Well, it's a social and that's a social that has to do that doesn't have to do with safety. No, but it was once illegal and became legal. That's an example. Yeah.
The reason that it became legal, though, is because it was a basic human right. Just like black people not being able to drink at a drinking fountain. That was a violation of an innate human right. I mean, that kind of makes the argument for me. It's our right to not have to do something. But what Jay is suggesting is that we make it okay. to be able to do something that we're not otherwise able to do. And, you know, I think that that's weird. I'm not, I don't think you'll ever find me for that. Let's see. M1, M1 Silk Screener is on the line. And is it Silk Screener or Silk Screener? Silk Screener. Silk Screener. Silk Screener, yes. From San Diego. Go ahead. So, as you know, It is better to wear a helmet because of the statistics of getting an accident and saving lives. Not everybody knows those statistics. And we used to have to spend, that is, the state spent a lot of money on wear your helmet, wear your helmet advertisement. And that was money we spent, you know, towards that. Once they made it a law, no more advertisement, no money spent to do that because it is now a law and it does save lives. Wait a minute.
What? Hang on a second. On one hand, you're saying that we had to spend money to let people know about it. Right. Because had we not spent the money to let people know about it, they wouldn't know. It's not like they're going to get a memo, right? Correct. So how'd they get the memo on the law? You can't have it both ways, silkscreener. You can't have it both ways. In other words, they found out about the law just like all of us found out about the law. They heard about it. And I don't think that you got to, I don't think you got to figure that. Listen, you don't wear a helmet, you get in a crash. I think you know what happens. You know what I mean? I think we know what. But do you think everybody knew about the statistics about it? I don't know about the statistics now. No. I don't. Just know that it's a law. I don't know statistics. I have no idea what statistics are on. I was just being devil's advocate. Okay, that's fine. No, I'll let you. I'm just, you know. She definitely has a point. Hashing it out. She definitely has a point. I still love you, Mikey. I really do. I love you. I love you. They're trying to educate people. They're trying to educate people. Instead of just when they made a law, when you go to get your driver's license for a motorcycle, it says, you're going to wear a helmet. They're like, oh, all right. I guess I'm wearing a helmet. What's the beef with the helmet?
From the motorcycle. Kill yourself. No, no. What's the beef from the motorcycle rider? It's just another thing that we have to put on. First of all, we've got to spend money on it. Now I have to buy something. Second of all, I don't like the way it looks. And if I want to kill myself, that's my right. Fair enough. It all comes down. That's what the government's trying to do. Because it's government employees that have to, you know, to put it lightly, clean up after when people are in these accidents. Maybe there's something to that, right? Healthcare. Okay, let's say somebody gets into an accident. We got to pay for it. We got to send our resources out there to take care of it. Yada, yada, yada. Could be. Somebody bring something to eat in here. Smells good. You cooking something out there? No. Does it mean you're going to have a heart attack if you smell sausage? Okay. Want to do why are we here? Sure. Okay. Here's how why are we here works. I am going to reach in. I'm going to reach into a basket and I'm going to pull out a couple of names or a name and then I'm going to pull out the location and we got to figure out why we're here. Two names and then we're going to figure out why we're here. Are you ready? Yes. I'm reaching in and I have pulled out a name.
and the name that I have pulled out is OJ. So it's OJ Simpson, and he is there with, hey, baby, the redneck couple. Oh, no. So the redneck couple, hey, baby. Hey, baby. How you doing, baby? I'm good, baby. I still got my 4th of July bathing suit on. I could see that. And OJ Simpson. Now we got to figure out where they are. Where are my sound effects, Jay? On that? What page? Keep going left. Oh, there. I got it. Okay. And we are going to be at Legoland. So we got to figure out why is OJ with the Hey Baby redneck couple at Legoland? I'm from Florida, so it always be looking like this all the time.
O.J., you ever been to Legoland before? This is your first time. Oh, this is my first time, man. I've been to plenty of golf courses, and I've chopped a couple people's heads off. Oh, my gosh. But I must say I've never been to Legoland. Oh, you're in for a treat, handsome man like you. Hey, is that your wife? Yeah, that's my wife. Why? She's a good-looking blonde, man. I mean, there ain't no doubt about it. She is white trash, but she is a good-looking blonde. You're not so bad yourself. If looks to kill, I'd end up like your ex-wife. Baby, don't be flirting with him. Is that wrong? Yeah, it's wrong. You can't be flirting with that, man. I'm sorry he's sharp and you said it, too. Hey, you gotta act like we're together, baby. Okay, I'm sorry. You said he ain't bad for a killer. Shorts, I did say that. You said it. Shorts are too short, too. My shorts are too short. Yeah, they're too short. I can see your butt cheeks. Well, they're coming out the back. That's my second set of butt cheeks. It's true, man. I can see them butt cheeks. Should I cover up? Hey, can I ask you a question? Y'all want to go ride on that small little world where we would go on the little boats through the ferry brook? That's the wrong place, baby.
I told you to quit calling him baby, baby. I'm sorry. I'm just used to it. Don't be calling him that. I'm used to saying it. It's all right. It's all right. Y'all don't fight. When a man and a woman, when a man and a woman get into a fight, sometimes. Things get ugly, right? Sometimes things can get ugly. And I'm not saying it's right. But I understand. Maybe we can make a guest house out of some Legos. Baby, I told you, don't be talking to him like that. Well, I just said Legos. We get that Kato Katelyn, what's his name, living in one of these Lego houses. I haven't seen that guy for 45 years or something, man. I guess that's it. We leave? I guess so, baby. Bravo. Wow. Let's go poop in the night out. Ew. Game is called Why Are We Here? I don't believe this because the oldest person that I've ever heard of is Jay Isbell. No.
Oldest person I've ever heard of is like 110. I've never heard of them being an American. Is that what you're telling me, Sienna? Yes. Well, not only is she an American, but she's from California. Frederica Moss is 111 years old, which means she's the second oldest living person in California and the 18th oldest living person in the United States. So she lives right here in La Mesa and she credits. resting as the secret to her long life. Well, we're in good shape then. The way Story of the J works is we will give a story and talk to that person we actually have. What's her name, Sienna? Frederica Moss. Frederica Moss, the oldest woman in, well, La Mesa for sure. Second oldest woman in California. Are you there, Frederica? Hi, Frederica. How are you? You're in La Mesa, right? Hello, Frederica. She has a hard time hearing. She has a hard time hearing. She's 111. She's screaming at us. Oh, don't know what you said, Frederica, but it's...
Kind of strange. I'm not going to. It's okay. You don't have to repeat it. Frederica. Frederica. What is it? How do you get to be so old? What can we do? How do we get to be as old as you? Around the room. Okay. Yes. Yes. That must be your alarm clock. That's shaped. Okay. Perfect. Thank you. That's Frederica... Moss. Moss. She was talking about vibrators. I think so. I don't. I know so. Hey, just because I'm on the phone and you can't actually see me means I can do whatever I want. M1 Steen from San Diego. What was the story, or excuse me, what was the word of the day? Sausage, Mike. That is correct. Sausage was the word of the day. You're going to go see L.A. Rising, Rage Against the Machine. Yes, rise again. Sausage. And Ms. Lauren Hill at the L.A. Coliseum. Yeah, you're welcome, dude. Hang on the line, okay? Oh, I got to get to this email. This email is fantastic.
I still want to find out if somebody puked at the hot dog eating contest, the Nathan's hot dog eating contest. I guess Kobayashi is like yesterday's news. I think he's been banned, my friend. Oh, has he? Yeah, he's been banned. I don't know what he did to get banned, but he is no longer welcome at the Nathan's hot dog contest. Well, the new name, I guess, is Joey Chestnut. He's the one that won. Joey, 62 hot dogs, five-time champion. How sweet is it? Tastes pretty good. Dude, I remember when 45 was the record. I think they have 12 minutes. I think they have 10 to 12 minutes. I can't remember. It's one of those. 60-some. 60-some. Joey, 62 hot dogs, five-time champion. How sweet is it? Tastes pretty good. I came out here to win, did what I had to do. I might be hitting the Pepto-Bismol later, but I feel great. How did the weather affect you today? It was a little overcast. but really humid. Really? What? We're really making this into a sport. It sure is. It didn't affect me that much. I didn't start out as fast as I wanted. I was having a little bit of trouble with the water, but I can't complain. I came out on top. That's what I had to do. Hey, Joey? Yeah? You've performed statistically better on turf and during the day. Any explanation for that? Probably because, you know, the turf.
Traditionally gives me... Hang on, I'm having a pain in my left arm. Joey? Joey's not saying anything. Is Joey dead? Joey's dead. No. I'm not sure, but... It's getting to the point where inmates are now asking for this and saying that if they don't have it, it's against their constitutional rights. Tell you all about it. Yes. Sienna, what's going on in the news? This is crazy. A two-year-old Chinese girl was left unattended and fell 10 stories from her family's apartment window, but survived after being caught by a woman passing by. The little girl's okay. Sienna, what do jail inmates think is a violation of their U.S. constitutional rights? Well, it's actually one jail inmate for now until the word gets out. But a Michigan jail guy that's in jail is 21 years old.
His name is Kyle. And Kyle has a big problem with the fact that he can't watch porn while he's in jail. He actually says that it's cruel and unusual punishment because he cannot have pornography. He says denying his request for erotic material subjects him to, quote, a poor standard of living and sexual and sensory deprivation. So does pooping in front of 12 other guys, bro. But guess what? It's called... prison yeah the reason he's in jail in case you're wondering is bank robbery it's like if i put jake in a timeout and he says that not having an ipad to play with while in timeout is somehow a breach of his constitutional rights hey it's called punishment it's punishment poor standard of living you're in jail like dude i mean Porn isn't even something you can watch just anytime, anywhere, even if you're not in prison. Exactly. It's not like if you're at a restaurant, you're going to complain to the restaurant because they're not providing you with porn. You know what I don't want to watch in prison? What? Porn. Porn.
You know, Jay makes a good point. You don't want to rev anybody up, okay? You don't want to get their engines running, all right? Hey, what are you doing later? Locking my door. You almost want to show them, like, traffic accidents. I know. Grotesque, you know, deformities and things. Yeah. 5701949, because it's time to play Name That Tune. Now, the way that we play Name That Tune is that we use our name as a buzzer, and we buzz in if... We know what the song is. Is it songs today? Nope. Today is I've got two different guys that are doing impressions. And you've got to figure out who they're doing. Okay. And so we've got to give you the person that they're doing the impression of. And 5701949, what prize can somebody win? We're going to hook them up with a pair of tickets to the ultimate opening day VIP party at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club. Opening day at the Thoroughbred Club. Thoroughbred Club. That? July 20th. The Thoroughbred Club? It's the Thoroughbred Club. Very hard to say. It's just the club. The Thoroughbred Club. The horse club. Just call it the horse club. Nay. That place is the bomb.
That is, I mean, like, opening day is already a big deal. Thoroughbred Club is the bomb. Mm-hmm. So, all right, 570-1949. You're going to pick me, Sienna, Woods, or L-O-B. M1, Travis from Lakeside. Who do you want? Mikey. All right, hang on. M1, Surf Daddy from Encinitas. Who do you want? Woodsy. You got it. M1, M1, Jake's teacher from San Diego. Who do you want? L-O-B. You got it. Yeah. And finally, M1. Is this M1 kick puncher from San Diego? What? You got it. Facts. I got the facts. Those are the facts. Those are the facts. You got Sienna. Hang on the line. All right. We use our name as a buzzer. We're going to be listening to impersonations. Is that thing turned on so they can hear over there? Yes. Okay, cool. All right. So we use our name as a buzzer. We know what the imitation is. We yell out our name. Let's go. Here we go. Woods. That's Al Pacino. The person being impersonated? Yes. Here we go. Sienna! Dang it! No, I got it. I'm going to gas. Chewbacca. Step right over me. She goes, Sienna, dang it! I first thought it was Vince Vaughn doing the motorboat. No, it's impersonations of a real person. Okay, here we go.
Frankenstein. That's Christopher Walken. Here we go. My friend Andy Dufresne. It's Morgan Freeman. It's Bill Cosby. All right. I'll play this game. I'll play this game. Go, Mike. Go, Mike. Mikey. Lauren. Yes, Mike. I'm doing this, too. I'm doing this, too. I see what you're doing. Why don't we all play fair? Here you go. Mikey. Mikey. Bill Clinton. Wow. President's back to back. Here we go. Mikey. Lauren. Darn it. Woods. Jack Nicholson. Mikey. Woods. Let me just start playing it again, I think. No, you don't have to. Woods knows. I know. Woods. So does Mikey. Who's in? I don't know. I don't know because I was listening to her answer. I said it the same time he and she did. Is it me? I don't know. It's you. It's Ronald Reagan.
There you go. Maybe mix up the president's power. George Washington. Abraham Lincoln. President Obama. Warren G. Harding. William G. Tack. Richard Nixon. John Kennedy. Easy, president. Okay, and like... Mikey. John Travolta. Oh, he's killing me. Wow, he's hot. Mikey Woods are tied. Mikey Woods, four. Lauren, negative one. Sienna, one. Great. So we have two left, so we're going to make them both two-pointers. Here we go. Mikey. Oh, no, Mike. Dang it. Technique does not work. Sometimes it doesn't. You're taking a chance. Here we go. Continue. First guess. Woods. Oh! Woods. That's Johnny Carson. Dang it! Woods won. That's it, right? That's it. Dang it! And it backfires, pal. But you did really well. You win some, you lose some. Dang it! M1 Surf Daddy from Encinitas. Woodsy brought it home. Weird. Love, Woodsy. There you go, dude. How come nobody jinxes him like they do to me? I cannot be jinxed, L-O-B. That's the deal. Hang on a line. I will not be jinxed. Oh, I love that game. That's so fun. Well, our hearts beat like little bunny rabbits. They really do. They really do. I hate your new bit. I hate it. I hate it, too. I tried it, and I failed. I hate it. Well, it didn't work for me that time. It worked like three times, though.
hard uh let's see uh the most expensive thing you can't believe that you bought now this is uh it came up because we found this list and it's a list of things that are extraordinarily expensive for what they are yes for instance sienna a 2600 bottle of water why is it why it's from the great smoky mountains of tennessee And that's all it says? Yeah, it says the company that bottles the water for... It says its water is sold under 90 brand names. It just says it's from the grape bottle. It's just crazy. Yeah. Bentley of Bottled Waters. Bling H2O. Really? Usually they give you a reason. They promise to quench consumers' thirst for both award-winning spring water and the luxe life. It's water. Yeah. That's just wrong. Do you think we could get... Lincoln Financial to pop for a bottle of that and we do a taste test. Of course, yeah. Oh my gosh. An $11,000 exercise bike. It's an Italian made Ciclot. Does it say anything special? It's made of feather light carbon fiber. But it's an exercise bike. It doesn't go anywhere. It doesn't go anywhere. Yeah, why does it need to be light? Just in case you move. In case you move. It's for moving purposes.
It's made out of carbon fiber, so if you have to go from one apartment to the other. If you have an $11,000 stationary bike, you're not living in an apartment. A single game seat at the Cincinnati Reds Park. You can buy a ticket for $2,835. It's a season ticket to stuff yourself and eat all the food that they sell there. In? $2,835 to stuff yourself with all the food. Wonder where? I wonder where in the stadium, like, how good the seats are. It's a season ticket? Yeah. It says for a season ticket. That's rad. A season ticket, yeah. What else? Professional Roomba. It's a... Roomba! A Roomba is a... It's a vacuum. It's a vacuum. It's $599. It's a professional version of iRobot's Roomba vacuuming robot. My brother Steve has one. What? I want one. He has one. He put a camera on it. And he plays with Echo, his dog. And you can see his dog running and he chases Echo with a Zumba. But that's not even that much, you know. But there's a $7,000 mattress. It's a Swedish bedmaker, Hastens Sangar. And it's a superior to mattress. It says it offers a sleeping experience on a whole new level. Well, what does that mean?
It has an arctic pine frame topped with horse hair, wool and flax. L-O-B. There better be a nude woman in it next to me if I spend that much money for a mattress. $7,000. They have, I think, even more expensive ones, too. I didn't think that was that expensive for a mattress. You? How much? $7,000. Mine was like $4,000. It's got a lifetime warranty. Easy, Jason Priestley. It's got a lifetime warranty. It lasts forever. I figure it's the last bed I'll ever own. Even though I wear it out. I've worn that son of a bitch out so much. I've tried everything. I mean everything. And it's pristine. Let me tell you something, man. About my mattress that's got a lifetime warranty. They should have given me two lifetime warranties. Because I'm going to wear the first one out. They didn't know who they were dealing with. It was made for someone like you. That's right. Where they knew. They'd never have to pay up in this lifetime. I'm sorry. I missed a spot with the... You hang on, girl. Sorry, Jay. Sorry, Jay. You hang on because I'm going to tell you something right now. That bed, it ain't never seen nothing like Jason or Isabel. Your name is not even Jason. Oh, yes, it is.
When I got that thing, I was looking at the person selling it to me and they said, oh, don't worry, Jason. They're looking at my credit card. I said, don't worry, Jason. This comes with a lifetime warranty. I just smiled. I knew. I said, oh, does it? Well, guess what? You're going to give me another free one in about two months. Now, the only thing they might have going for them is I'm 107. So, my lifetime might be. The other good thing is that I, Jay, and my wife, Kim, are very fit. Yes. We're not fat at all. Mikey. Mikey. Wood. Wood. Let me tell you something. The first three weeks we had it, it was as if two apes had been playing basketball on it. I walked in that store. I said, last time? Really? Really? Try again. They had to redefine it. Now it's called a J-Time. I messed up on the bottled water. I'm not sure you could tell. They had 10,000 Swarovski crystals on the bottle itself.
So you're buying a bottle of water which has Swarovski crystals. I was searching. I'm like, I know there's a reason. I can't find it. It's made from Celine Dion's pee. Why would you buy that? Just to have Swarovski crystals on a plastic bottle? Because you're a rapper. Yeah, and you want to show your Swarovski crystals. It's insane. I don't want swastikas on my water. No, no, no. I mean, that's not very cool. Swarovski. Swarovski crystals. New releases, Woodsy. What do we have? What? It's like a Monday to us. Quiet. Brian Eno. Oh, good. Is out today. This is a German car commercial. This music was used in German car commercials. In German overdue. Endorsed by David Hasselhoff. That is the new Brian Nino and the new old 97s is out today as well. Good stuff. And out on DVD today, DVD today is Of Gods and Men. And that is a very slow new release date. Yeah, probably because of the 4th of July. Yep. Let's see. Got an email for you. How much time we got? Let me see. I want to read you this email. Hopefully get some feedback on this.
Let's see. Mikey, what do you guys think about this? I told my son's best friend, who's 13, that he should pluck his unibrow because he was getting made fun of at school. Trust me, something had to be said, poor kid. He did it the next day, and not only does it look better, but now kids have stopped picking on him. He has since thanked me for it. However, his parents are furious with me. They said I crossed the line. And had no right to tell their kid that. Did I cross the line, M1 scruff? Yes. In my opinion, M1 scruff, you cross the line. The only reason I say that is because it was a kid. It was somebody under 18. If the person's an adult, you could say to them, hey, listen, I think a donkey show in Tijuana is right up your alley. You can say that. It's an adult.
And if they want to do said donkey show, they could do whatever they want to. They're an adult. But if you're taking liberties with someone else's kid, it's different. Not like he plucked his eyebrows for him. Say what? It's not like he plucked it for him. He just said, hey, if that was you, man, I'd get rid of that unibrow. Well, yeah, but now what you're doing is you have effectively become an accomplice in this kid's low self-esteem. And if he didn't have it, now you've effectively made sure that he does. And you've also instilled in him that what's important in this world is that. And you've given him the nickname of Groucho Marx. Yes. Caveman. In addition. Liam Gallagher. Frida Kahlo. Bert of Bert and Ernie. What's up with that caterpillar? Yeah, I wouldn't want somebody telling my kid, hey, you really should pluck that. I would say something for sure. I would say something for sure. What? Absolutely. It's not your kid. You're not doing it. You're telling them. The kid doesn't have to do it. He can go to his parents and say, hey, what would you think about this? Because if his parents aren't paying attention, somebody needs to, you know. What if he's overweight? You're going to tell him? No, that's not something you can fix in a second. But you can fix it. They need to know about it, but I'm not saying anything. I mean, I might call him Chubbs or something, but I'm not going to. Oh, my God. I'm not going to.
I might say it to my fake kid. I might say, hey, where's your friend Chubbs? Oh, gosh. You know? Say, hey, where's Chubbs? Don't try to bail yourself out. Are you going to Chubbs' house? Adoption fell through. Are you going to Chubbs' house? Tell Chubbs he's not walking over here anymore. Kid ate four hot dogs here yesterday. Oh, my gosh. The qualification is not whether or not it can be taken care of immediately. In my opinion, it's the same thing as saying to him, hey, listen, looks like you've gained a little weight. I know someone that started eating this, this, and this, and they were able to lose some weight. And then the kid goes home and tells mom what they said. I'd be furious if I was the parent. I'd be like, especially now, and there's two bad things with this one. A, you said it. B, you suggested a particular action to take. And, you know, like the losing the weight. You're hurting their feelings. That seems so different to me, the losing the weight. It's like you can't compare the two. Why? I don't know. Because losing the weight, it's very, very difficult to fix for a lot of people. Plucking your eyebrows takes 15 seconds. What if you said to the kid, hey. And it's something, I mean, it's just, it's not a big deal. It's a domino effect. Well, it isn't a big deal to you.
What if it's a big deal to your parents? What if your parent actually... I understand why they would be mad. I do see that. But I don't see it being a huge issue. And I think the kid is obviously thankful. He probably didn't know what to do. What about papers and our eyes and maybe keeping our eyes on our papers? Doesn't Jay have a drop, a rejoin that says, why don't you let me raise my own kid? Yeah. Exactly. Who wouldn't want me telling Jasper, hey, pal, you need to pluck those eyebrows? He doesn't, but Finn did. Well, yeah, Finn will tell him. It's his brother. He can. Finnegan had the unibrow. Oh, wow. Well, it must be fun to be Finnegan right now. People have it. It's something that you fix. Hey dad, maybe I kicked your ass. You know, you fix it. It's not a big deal. It's a small adjustment that makes you look much better. It's not like he's having plastic surgery and said you need a new nose. That's up to that parent to tell that kid. You know what I would do though? I can see myself doing it. If I had a kid, let's say he was like 12 or 13 and his friends came home, I'd be like, why don't you shave that crust ash? Like I'd make fun of him and like poke fun of him.
That unibrow, I don't think. The crust ash is something he probably intends to. Yeah, he intends to. I'd be like, easy crust ash. And that's up to his mom and dad. Like, you're making fun of them. Yeah, I make fun of people, though. I know, but that's not very nice. I am a monster. I know that. It's fine. And if my kid came home and said, hey. Old Man Woods is making fun of me. I'd be like, hey, maybe Old Man Woods doesn't make fun of a kid, man. What if Ryan came to my house and he's 12 years old and he had a mohawk? And I was like, easy with the mohawk, pal. Well, it's different. I'll tell you why. And it would be different if M1 Scruff, I think it's different if this is somebody that you kind of have known since they were a baby. Yes, I agree with that. That's true. That's different. That's kind of what I was thinking. If you know the kids since they're a baby, I think you have that kind of relationship. You get a little leeway. With the parent. Yeah, with the parent. I'm not even talking about the relationship with the kid. I'm saying, although, Woods, if you hurt their feelings, that would bum me out. Well, for sure, and I would never do that. I know, but if you made a joke to Ryan and you were like, easy, Chubbs, and he cried and told me. I said mohawk. I know. You said Chubbs. I said mohawk. But what if you said easy Chubbs?
Well, I would never do that. Yeah, that's true. I would never do that. To his face. Sometimes it's easier to say something to your friend's parents than your own parents. And I'm just envisioning this kid talking to his friend's dad, needing advice. That's different. Well, that's how I see this. If my kid came home and said, and I noticed, like, did you do something to your face? And they go, yeah. And I go, what is it? And they go, I... tweezed my unibrow. First thing I'd say is, how do you know that's called a unibrow? And maybe they go, because everybody does, Dad. Maybe they would say that. Or maybe they would go, because Uncle Woods taught me. What did he say? He said that I had a unibrow and it didn't look good and that I should shave it. I would be like, he did what? What did he say? I would be on the phone right away. I'd be like, dude, what are you telling my kid with this? You telling me how to unibrow? Yeah. Kids are impressionable and sensitive enough. Leave it up to their parents to put it delicately. Hey, zit face. Maybe you get some oxy. The kid thanked him for telling him. He said thank you. It's real easy, Sienna. All you do is just dab a little oxy-10 on there. It'll be gone in a minute. It's a couple hairs. Hey, you see this commercial? It's for proactive. Maybe you take a look, pal. Jessica Simpson does it. It's cool. Maybe you do what Bieber's doing. I probably would go to the parents and say, hey, man, where's the little caveman? And let them. Where is?
The little caveman. You would not. I would. You would not. You know, he says that, but he wouldn't do that. Ever. Where's the little caveman? I'd stumble over my words first, and I'd say, where's the... Who's got a caveman? I mean, your caveman. Gecko. Gecko. Gecko. Gecko. Hey, where's that gecko caveman? SNL skit from a couple years ago. Some bumper sticker free speech. You know you can get in trouble for them? You can now. Let me strip for it when we come back. Now back to the Mikey show. You people never cease to amaze me. With Mikey. I would have no problem picking any girl's nose. Lauren. If they took an x-ray, they found a break, good. If they were like, it could be this, it could be that. Well, thanks. I could have could have did it all day. Woods. You know what I think chicks look cool in? Pick up trucks. Sienna. Nick Carter from Backstreet Boys looks amazing. And Jay. So the human body is a miracle. On FM 94.9. You know what we forgot to mention about the Jeff Bridges concert? I do. So we went to see Jeff Bridges, Woods and I, and our wives went to see Jeff Bridges perform this music from the movie Crazy Heart. So we went to see this performance in Phoenix over the weekend. Some M1s won tickets too. So we go out there and Jeff Daniels. Bridges. Jeff Bridges. He did this thing where.
He said, now if you look along the walls here, and did you notice he adopted like kind of a southern accent? Very much so. Because he was doing country. Yeah. Which I thought was pretty cool, actually. Yeah. He's an actor. He looked like Bad Blake. He, from Crazy Heart, beard, mustache, you know. Slick back hair. Slick back hair. I mean, it looked pretty cool. And this ballroom was huge. I mean, it was gigantic. I mean, there was probably 500 people in there. Easily. A lot of people. And there's these giant works of art all over the walls of this ballroom. And he says, I support childhood hunger here in America. And I drew some pictures. Pictures are all up here. I drew them today. And when we're done here tonight, we're going to ox them off. And half the money is going to go to the Phoenix Food Bank. And the rest of it is going to go to... childhood hunger here in America. It's cool. That's awesome. It was nice. It was really nice. And in the middle of one of his songs, you know, the song ends and he says, you know, I was thinking about those pictures. I was thinking about them paintings and everything. And I said to fellas in the band, I said, we got any paint around here? We got any more of that paint? And they said, yeah, we do. And so he walks to the back. He disappears.
He comes out with this sort of, he's got this dolly that he's got these big buckets on full of paint. Oh, my God. White paint. He says, I noticed that we had a backdrop here. It's a big old brick wall. And they had these frames that were hanging from the ceiling at different levels. And he went behind them and he started doing artwork. Sure did. And it would take a while. And the song would keep playing. And we were sitting there. Watching him paint. Yeah. He just came up with it. He came up with it that afternoon. He was inspired. He was inspired. And it was really kind of cool about the first 15 seconds of the painting. Yeah. Four minutes into the painting. Oh my God. Yes. And the band is just jamming. And you're.
You know, you're just kind of, oh, I wonder when he's drawing. Yeah, it's a big circle. Circle. Another circle outside that one. There's a smiley face. There's another circle. Modern art. Yes, and then there's a bigger circle around the four smaller ones. Look, he's still drawing. Oh, there's a plus sign that he put in the middle of him. There's another plus sign, and he's painting another plus sign. Is that a heart right there? It's not a heart. That's actually somebody's head. Oh, okay. Here's the band. That's the band. And he's back there. Yeah, he's painting. He's, yeah. Back to the audience. Mikey's demonstrating the painting. Back to the audience. Paintbrush white paint. Steps back, looks at it. Oh, I missed this. Oh my gosh. Mike's still painting. That's a true statement. Just a bunch of arcs and dots. Yeah. It was one of the more awkward moments in a concert. There. Yeah. Ever. Yes. Marilyn Manson doesn't do weird stuff as Jeff Bridges did. He's not used to being on stage. Marilyn Manson goes, oh my God, that guy's on drugs. Yeah. Marilyn Manson's sitting there with one leg crossed over the other going, this is weird. This is strange. With one blue eye and one brown eye. He's like, this is weird, man. When he started painting, I leaned over to Mikey and Rebecca and Jamie and I go,
Did we take acid? Because I could swear that Jeff Bridges is painting on stage. So is a bumper sticker considered free speech? Maybe you use them to brag about your student of the month. Or the candidate you support. Or it's your love of a sport. Whatever your reason, for just about every opinion, you can find a bumper sticker. There's been some funny ones and some, you know, cute ones, but I really don't pay attention to bumper stickers that much. But what if your bumper sticker isn't safe for TV or for the road? Tennessee has a law for that. In addition to obscene bumper stickers, it also prohibits patently offensive bumper stickers, as well as obscene window signs, markings, and movies visible to other drivers. The fine used to be between $2 and $50, but starting July 1st, the fine is automatically $50. Government ever just get into stuff and just tell you what you can do? Listen, I would not put a bumper sticker on my car.
that had obscene stuff, but it's America. I mean, I just, I feel like such a cheese ball. You tell somebody, you can't do that to your, you can't say that. I mean, isn't that America? I thought that was the reason for our country, that we were free to be able to have like civil liberty. What if they're watching porn and you're right beside them and you look in and they're going at it on the little... picture thing. Well, they can. Well, they can? Yeah. Yeah. I mean, that's a completely, I mean, they can, but it isn't a bumper sticker. It's different. I mean, that's in their car. And I agree, man. Hey, dude, if you're asking me, I say they're in their car, man. I mean, they got the right to do whatever they want to do. I have the right to not like it. Make love? Yeah. Well, I mean, what are you going to do? You're going to pull somebody over and be like, You can't have that on your car. What are you talking about? It's my car. That thing's legal. I can play whatever I want. I mean, listen, I wouldn't. I wouldn't want my kid to look at it. And I would be upset about it. But it doesn't give me the right to like legislate what they're allowed to do. Like people are allowed to do what they want to do. Somebody want to have an F word and a big sticker on their car. I'm not going to like that. I don't think that's.
OK, but I mean, if we start getting into a thing where we're saying you can't do this and you can't do that and you can't do this in terms of our preferences, you know, again, you can't have it both ways. Can't have it both ways. I mean, we're either going to be a culture that says we have the right to say what we want. Now, unless it's a like a safety hazard, you can't go into a movie theater and yell fire. That's against the law. You're not allowed. I'm not allowed to go on the radio and announce something like an emergency if there is none. You're breaking the law. And there's safety things that go along with that. It means that you're jeopardizing people's safety. I guess somebody could make the argument, oh, well, that sticker freaked me out so bad. No, please. Yeah, I agree. I don't like the sticker. I'm not down with that sticker. I used to like the Howard Stern show. Now it's not my cup of tea. I would never say, take him off the radio. It's America, man. I don't listen to it. Again, we've said it before. Unless that bumper sticker is spewing hate, if it's promoting hate or violence, then they should take it off, I think.
Yeah, I mean, that is a safety. Is that that may be a safe? Yeah, it's a safety to whoever they're spitting hate against. It's a safety hazard. And here's the deal, too, Richard Simmons. If if somebody has let's say somebody puts they don't they don't put a bumper sticker that says to do that. But let's say that they put a bumper sticker that says I hate and then insert your own racial slur here. That's more dangerous for them. Oh, yeah. Absolutely. That's more dangerous for them. Absolutely. Somebody's going to clobber them. Yeah. You know? A knuckle sandwich. Yes. Mouthful of teeth. Yeah. You know, I'm talking about two pieces of bread with knuckles in there. Yep. Mustard. Mustard. Light. Light. Light layer. No onion. You know, you can mess up a knuckle sandwich so easy by putting onions on it. I know. I know. And if the lettuce is wilted, you don't want that either. You'll jack it right up. It's disgusting. Who's that guy? It's hideous. Who's the dude that puts tomatoes on a knuckle sandwich? You're an idiot. I prefer it with tomatoes. Oh, you. You're that one guy. You're that guy. You're that guy. Perv. Yeah, perv. You're a sex pervert. Sex pervert. Tomatoes on a knuckle sandwich? It's a sex pervert. How's your van? Yeah, weirdo. Weirdo. You have a cache of lollipops back there for little kids, too? Yeah, and how's your vag? Creep. How's your vag? Here's Jay. Here's Jay. Here's Jay, by the way.
Here's Jay, by the way. Here's Jay, by the way. Oh, wow. In his head, he goes, got to weigh it. Got to weigh it. Should I? Should I? Should I? Should I? Should I? Should I? Should I? Should I? Should I? Should I? Should I? Should I? Should I? Should I? Should I? Should I? Should I? Should I? Should I? Should I? Should I? Should I? Should I? Should I? Should I? Should I? Should I? Should I? The beach about 7 a.m. Set up camp with a couple of families. We set up ladder ball, volleyball, bocce ball. We sat. We drank our coffee.
We waited for the sun to get high enough to shine on us. Stop it. Then we paddled out, surfed for a couple hours, and goofed around on the beach till about three. And then back to our house for hot dogs and pool time. It was a great weekend, four exclamation points. All American. All American, all perfect. All better than Woods and Mac. Or anyone, pretty much. I'll tell you what. Must suck to be fat like Mike. Couldn't get that little porcupine on top of a surfboard, could you? Couldn't watch the sun come up and shine. Well, I could, but there'd have to be some sort of king-sized meal for him to get out there. Maybe if I sent a surfboard with an All-American Slam from Denny's out into the surf, then I could get him up on a board.
Maybe. Maybe. Maybe if I had a tugboat pulling a big old thing of flapjacks. Or if that surfboard was made of pizza. You're going to need a bigger surfboard. Maybe if I baited a hook with a maple bacon donut, I could get him in the water. Just maybe. Maybe. Yeah. I'd get Mikey in the water. If the water was made of scrambled eggs. And hot sauce. If I filled my pool with syrup, yes, he would swim, okay? Mikey, what if it isn't bocce ball, but it's bocce ball made out of sausage and bacon? What if I used donut holes for the bocce balls? But you come in. I bet you'd be world champion, Mike. Went home, made love to my wife endlessly. Just ran that lifetime warranty mattress into the ground. Again. Again. Sienna said that yesterday, her and her husband, Todd, they walked home a little early with their daughter, Sage. And the second that they had a moment to themselves. No, Todd left early with Sage and left me at a block party.
Jenna. Got it. Okay. And then within 15 seconds, she says, this guy comes and sits next to her and he starts asking her if she's on Groupon. Now, first I'm going to tell you what Sienna said. Then I need an explanation of what everything's about. Okay. But Sienna's like, really? I'm at a neighborhood block party. I'm with my kids and this D is trying to sell me something. So Sienna's like, dude, this isn't the place. And now's not the time to be selling me a bunch of S to a bunch of people. I said S too. Wow. You did? I was pissed. She said, it felt great. Wow. Now, what is, I've heard Groupon a jillion times. But what is, is it like Amway and people try to sell you on it? I don't know. This is the second time that this has happened this week. It's like people are going around, you know, asking you to sign up for Groupon and all these special things. Groupon is.
LOB's on it. I'm on it. How does it work, LOB? I signed up for it, and you tell them what city you're in, and there's a deal a day that comes through to your email. They try to cater it to you once you've started to purchase things, but it gives you a discount. It'll give you sometimes 60% off a service, usually a local service. What does it have to do with you trying to get me to join it? I don't see why anyone would want you to join it. It's not like a social network sort of thing, unless the person works for Groupon, and he's like a mole. He's the CEO of Groupon. When people come up to me outside the grocery store and they want me to sign up for something, I ignore them usually. I'm like, nope, not interested. I don't want anything to do with them. And here I am at a block party. My kid, Sage, just left with Todd. So I'm like, I'm just there with Jenna. I can kind of relax. And I sit down to catch my breath. And this guy comes right up to me. So I was just like, dude, we're at a family block party. Don't.
come up and like ask for my signature and sign up for some. So he was trying to get you to sign up for something. All he said was, Hey, have you checked out this Groupon? He had an iPad, an iPad. And he was showing me and I was, I looked at him and he didn't get that. My look was like, get that the heck away from me. So he continued. And I was like, dude, I was pissed. I bet I know what he was doing. There's some of them where if you get four people to sign up for it under like the code they give you, then you get that for free. You're supposed to be doing it to your friends, not strangers. Yeah, the 4th of July. Pyramidski. Maybe don't Amway me out. Hey, Mary Kay. Yes. Chill out on the 4th of July. Slow your roll with your pink Cadillac. Yeah, we are a Girl Scout. You slinging cookies. Get the hell out of here. I'm just trying to have a hot dog, bro. I'm not kidding. I was sitting in this. I went and sat on the curb in the shade. Like, I was like, I can't breathe. Sage is gone. There's hundreds of people around. And I just. deep. Oh, I was so like, really? He was a creep. What did he do when Sienna said? He got up quick and left. Yeah. I was so mad. Fantastic. Fantastic. The lovely and handsome Jeremy is filling in today. He's filling in today for our lovely Hillary. How you doing, man?
I'm happy to be back. How was your fourth? It was fantastic. Spent a lot of time with the family. Made some beer. Hung out with the family. Jeremy makes his own beer, man. What'd you make? I did a Saison. Who didn't? It's kind of an herbally Belgian beer. Kind of some peppery flavors to it. I put some coriander in it. I've got some orange in it. Wow. Not that you would know. Not that you would care. No, but I mean, I get it. That sounds cool. And good Fourth of July. You watch any fireworks? I did not watch any fireworks, but I blew up some things in Bakersfield over the weekend. And I got to enjoy the sounds of fireworks at my place. It sounded like Beirut. Yeah, it did. For a lot of people here in San Diego, it sounded like Beirut. Did you see that one of the barges was on fire this morning? No way. Yeah, one of the firework barges, I guess, was smoldering last night. Weird. A certain part of it caught fire. Oh, wow. Great, now there's not going to be any fireworks next year. Oh, nobody got hurt. Everything's fine. Hey, man, there's places in America where you're still allowed to do that. Texas, right? Oh, yeah, dude. We do it every 4th of July. Drop about $300 at the fireworks stand. Easy. And go to town. Listen, it does sound like fun. I've got to admit, it sounds like fun. It's a blast.
Your hands are black by the end of the night. Things shooting at you. I would never be the guy. I need Jay to do it. Who's your news? Who's your don'ts? That's right. Jeremy, what do you got coming up? I'm going to play some Nine Inch Nails of the Downward Spiral. Woodsy, I got something off Pearl Jam's version.
