The show replayed Casey Anthony's acquittal, and Mikey argued that the drowning story, the fake nanny and Casey's behavior required listeners to ignore common sense. Alternate juror Russell Huchler countered that prosecutors never proved how Kaylee died, while defense attorney Randy Grossman explained why reasonable doubt, unpredictable juries and attorney-client privilege matter. Cindy Anthony's 911 call and Casey's jailhouse conversation highlighted the contradictions that made the verdict so shocking to the hosts. Away from the case, Woods lost his sealed verdict bet, Lauren O'Brien won a chaotic Buzzword game and caller Shelly's malpractice story overwhelmed the studio. The crew also mocked Nancy Grace's Tot Mom branding as part of its running courtroom satire.

What happened, in order

  1. The not-guilty verdict

The court announced that Casey Anthony was acquitted of murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter but convicted of lying to law enforcement.

  2. The drowning theory

Mikey attacked Jose Baez's claim that Kaylee accidentally drowned and George Anthony secretly turned the death into an apparent homicide.

  3. The jailhouse contradiction

A jail call captured Casey insisting she did not know where Kaylee was even though her later defense acknowledged that she already knew the child was dead.

  4. Zanny the nanny

The show replayed Casey's detailed claims about a nonexistent nanny named Zanny after noting that she had admitted inventing the woman.

  5. An alternate juror explains

Alternate juror Russell Huchler defended the acquittal because prosecutors could not prove how Kaylee died and he believed George Anthony was hiding something.

  6. Woods loses his verdict bet

The crew opened Woods's sealed prediction, discovered that he had changed his answer from not guilty to guilty, and sentenced him to watch The Lord of the Rings and write a report.

  7. Inside a defense lawyer's nerves

Attorney Randy Grossman explained that even experienced lawyers cannot reliably read a jury and compared waiting for a verdict to waiting for an unpredictable exam grade.

  8. Attorney-client privilege

Randy Grossman surprised the hosts by explaining that a lawyer may defend a client who privately admits guilt but cannot knowingly put that client on the stand to lie.

  9. Nancy Grace and Tot Mom

The crew performed a mock Nancy Grace call that turned her relentless use of the nickname Tot Mom into an absurd courtroom argument with Mikey.

  10. Buzzword meltdown

Lauren O'Brien won a frantic round of Buzzword with daydream while she and Woods shouted, jumped on furniture and treated the game like a championship.

  11. Shelly clears the studio

Caller Shelly described losing a malpractice case after a doctor left part of a tool inside her, and one blunt detail sent the entire crew collapsing in horrified laughter.

  12. Cindy Anthony's 911 call

Cindy Anthony told a 911 dispatcher that Kaylee had been missing for a month and that Casey's recovered car smelled as though a dead body had been inside.
