I said to my wife, Rebecca, I go, would this be a good topic for the air? I go, would you marry and have a baby with Casey Anthony at this point? I said, I would because I don't think that she would do anything crazy again. She would be afraid to do anything crazy again. And Rebecca was like, I don't know. What about the pathological lying? Would that concern you at all? And I go, oh yeah, I forgot about that. I'd probably date her. I like to get these too. Look at Sienna. They get so bad. Sienna laid back and went in her coffin. That's what we all do. We lay back and we cross our arms over our chest to say, what you just said just killed me. You got me. Lauren is almost past that point. She's got a look on her face like, that's over. I'm in heaven now.
You've so destroyed my soul. I've already come up with a plot to kill you for saying that. Yesterday we had on my... Hello. It was really good. It was great. Yesterday we had my attorney Randy Grossman on the air and he is on KUSI-TV right now. Casey Anthony did lie and all of a sudden that's what the jurors are going to focus on and that really could have hurt her tremendously. Randy, we know that each misdemeanor count carries a maximum of one year in jail. But talk to us about how the judge's role will play a part in this. And mention the Mikey Show, Randy. Absolutely. He's going to listen to the arguments of each of the attorneys. He's going to look at the support that Casey Anthony has in that courtroom. That's why it's important if she does have anybody supporting her. Does he have a goatee? He never did. They're human. He's going to take that into account. Looks like the judge is walking in. Let's go ahead and listen. And his hair usually isn't, like, you know, combed. Oh, gosh. Okay, here we go. Oh, gosh. All right, so I'm going to put you to the live feed of the sentencing. Let's all listen in. And, Jeff, I'll, of course, get you to weigh in. Let's go ahead and listen. It's the sentencing of Casey Anthony. I know, me too. Okay. Madam Clerk, you may call the case. Case number 2008, CF 15606, State of Florida versus Casey Marie Anthony.
Okay, let the record reflect that the defendant is present along with counsel for the defendant and assistant state attorney. Both sides ready to proceed. Yes, sir. I believe so, Your Honor. Mr. Mason, before we proceed to summits and Mr. Baez, you had asked me to reserve ruling on your motion for mistrial. We withdraw that, Your Honor. Okay. Casey is smiling really big. I'm pausing it. I've got to point a couple things out to you. Casey is in full makeup. Her hair is now down. Looks completely different than she's looked the last few weeks. Right. She no longer has to have the I'm a librarian look. Right. That takes care of that. She's beaming with happiness. You can see it. She's beaming. I get away with this. The defendant, Casey Anthony, is before the court for sentencing on counts four, five, and six.
providing false information to a law enforcement officer. Mr. Baez, do you know of any legal cause why we should not proceed to sentencing at this time, sir? There's four, five, six, and seven. And seven. Oh, one other reason. She's guilty. The only legal cause that we have would be previously filed motions of packing, none of it. No legal cause why you can't proceed to sentencing with the subsequent remedies if she takes them. Would the state... Care at this time presenting the matters relative to... You're listening to the sentencing of Casey Anthony. Not on that issue, Your Honor, no. State care to present any issues at this time concerning any other matter. Have something? Yesterday I filed a motion to tax special costs of investigation and prosecution and to reserve jurisdiction. The only reason that I would bring this up... prior to the actual sentencing has to do with the jurisdiction of the court. Once sentence is imposed, if defense counsel intends to appeal the misdemeanor convictions, then this court would not be able to entertain a later hearing until that matter is resolved as it relates to costs of investigation. 570-1949 is our number if you want to call us. I'm bringing us back to real time.
At a later point in time in a bifurcated type of proceeding that would not divest the court of immediate jurisdiction to handle this matter so that this can be closed as expeditiously as possible. She can't be niggling around with words like that. She's niggling very expeditiously. Yes. Bifurcated. Mr. Mayes. Mr. Beekson, Your Honor, will be handling it. Mr. Mayes. I do not object to the bifurcation process, Your Honor. They have not. Presented invoices to us. Oh, hurry up. Come on. Crying out loud. Do it. Casey's wearing like a blue. What is it? V-neck sweater. Sweater in July in Orlando. Well, it's air conditioned where she is. She hasn't seen light of day for a while. I guess pursuant to chapter 938. That's the statute that you're seeking those.
I think she looks better without the makeup. You think she looks better with the makeup, Woods? Looks like mortuary makeup. I mean, really? It's four misdemeanors. Get on with it. You're listening to the live sentencing of Casey Anthony. May it please the court? Good morning. Good morning, Your Honor. Your Honor, before sentencing, we respectfully request the court address the violation of double jeopardy at issue with respect to counts five, six and seven. Because all four statements in the indictment arose during the July 16th interview between Detective Mellich and Miss Anthony, all four counts. They're trying to get her off of lying to police or one continuous criminal act with a single intent.
Count it as one. Okay, they're just trying to get him to count it as one. It must be reduced to one conviction based on one occurrence and course of conduct. In Hamill v. State, which we provided to the court, that's 934 Southern 2nd, 634. What do you think? You think she'll get it? D.C.A. case from 2006. L.O.B. says no. Wood says yes. Wood says they'll make it one count. L.O.B. says no. They won't. among other things, arose from a single criminal episode. And Hamill, the court articulated the test to determine whether... Now, she's very stoic and stone-faced. Now, before this all began, she was sitting, you know, at the table with Baez. On his lap. It was weird. Practically, yeah. She didn't know the cameras were on. She keeps playing with her long hair. I gave that to the clerk, and I should have instructed that you needed... To have that. Okay. Okay, go ahead. Thank you, Your Honor. This test requires a court to look to whether there was a separation of time, place, or circumstances. All right, I'm going to go on with some stuff. And as soon as this lady's done talking, because I don't think we're going to hear anything with this lady talking, she's saying we want it turned into one, you know, one deal for sentencing. And we'll see what they say. Let's see.
We're going to be playing something new this morning called That's a True Statement. We'll play that at 7.30. What we've done is we have asked one another here on the show to write down something very strong that we feel and then back it up by saying that is a true statement. Now, what we're going to do is I'm going to pull them randomly out of a basket and then we're going to ask who wrote this one. And then we'll discuss it. But we will be doing. That is a true statement at 7.30, and it could turn into some craziness. I'm Mikey. I am 41 years old. I'm the host of the program. Woods is our sports guy. He is 35. Lauren O'Brien is our assistant producer, and she's also a comedian. She's got blonde hair, and she is obsessed with the Casey Anthony case.
As well as I am. Sienna is our news girl. She's 26. Got her hairs did. And they look good. Thank you. They do. And Jay is our producer. He's 48. And he is wearing a green t-shirt today. And our phone screener is Chris. It touches on the temporal aspects that are present in this case as well. However, the hug decision. Double jeopardy. Don't use big words with me. I don't like it. They're arguing Casey lied once, not four times. Pick a scene tomorrow at 8. I have to study. I haven't studied. That needs to be on my tomorrow email, Jay, because I will not remember.
I completely forgot about said scene. Pick a scene, yeah. You're going to be 80-year-old Henry Fonda, and I'm going to be 80-year-old Catherine Hepburn on Golden Pond. Also fitting. Yes. Wonderful. Woods recorded me in the bathroom this morning. I did. Singing. Yeah, it's on Jay's advice. Wonderful. To a law enforcement officer. Yes, sir. Specifically, what is alleged? He just said pacifically. Always. Specifically that on the 16th day of July 2008, that in violation... She could have been rude and been like, well, Judge, specifically... Atlantically. Atlantically. Do you swim in the specific ocean, Your Honor?
That specific allegation was... No, she is. She is, a little bit. Passive aggression. Minus the passive. It arose during the July 16, 2008 interview, as did every other charge, Your Honor. As a result of her telling the police that she was employed at Universal Studios, did the police have to take any resulting action with their investigation? They certainly did, Your Honor. However, if we're to charge her, we have to charge her for the crime. And the crime here arose out of all four incidences were a part of the same. Want to let people know that the word of the day today is grapefruit. So at some point between now and 10, I'll say grapefruit. When I do call her 9570-1949. Gets to go see L.A. Rising. Rage Against the Machine. Rise Against. And Ms. Lauren Hill.
July 30th at the DLA Coliseum. And did that require a separate and distinct act on behalf of law enforcement? Can you believe she's going to go free? It's so crazy. You know, one of the jurors is really becoming vocal. Her name is Jennifer Ford. You know, she says that they are absolutely sick about having to make this decision, but they were basically following the letter of the law. Listen to this. How emotional was it to be a juror in this case? I mean, there were quite a few people when we got back after the verdict was read. We were in tears. Why were you crying after you handed down a not guilty verdict on murder? Not guilty doesn't mean innocent. How do you feel about that, that you may have let... A woman who murdered her own daughter with that charge. It doesn't feel good. It was a horrible decision to have to make. But I had to do it based on the law. Michael Hopkins and Juliette Lewis, that she had told them of a disappearance of her child. However, we reassert that there's a materiality issue related to this particular charge. And again, assert that this is out of the same instance of conduct. And count seven.
Count seven, Your Honor. This is the same interview that we've been discussing. You know what I wonder? I wonder if Casey, in her mind, thinks that because she was found not guilty, we think she's not. I wonder if she thinks that. Probably. Probably. Oh, wow. Do you think the prosecution or the defense right now is being a little cocky? Oh, asking for... This and that. We'd also like the defendant to have a private plane. Right. I think if I were Casey Anthony, I'd be like, shut up. Let's just get in there. Let's get it done. Whatever they give me, I'll do with a smile because I'm not going to prison. She wants to walk out today. I know. Our client would also like to be given 45 shares in the Apple Corporation. I can't promise that you don't get anything like that. Okay, well, we'll accept Dell. Or Microsoft? I can't give you Adele stops. Can she meet the artist Adele? I might be able to hook that up. Continuous flowing act. When you're talking about, think about a river just flowing down and the water is going and going and going. You're not going to say that's one gallon of water. Is the criminal defense attorney telling you what's going on?
Look at the thing as a whole. What the defense is arguing right now is, Judge, if you charge her four times... Isn't Florida trying to get her to have to repay for the cost of investigating stuff? Yeah. There was about 4,200 searchers looking for Kaylee when she was missing and spent $112,000 in that search when the entire time... you know, Casey knew she was dead. Oh, wow. And so, you know, she should have to repay that. That's a lot of money. Of course. And Zenaida Gonzalez, Zanny the nanny, wants money too. Well, Zenaida Gonzalez, Zanny the nanny, is a name that she saw written on an application and decided to use it. Right. But this was just an innocent woman that never met Casey Anthony. And, you know, she saw this name and decided, oh, it's a good name to use for my fake nanny. Yeah. The state of Florida filed a motion yesterday, trying to get this money back and trying to get a hearing set so that they can slap this huge bill on Casey. Unbelievable, man. It's unbelievable. Ms. Anthony did not have time to pause, reflect, and form a new criminal intent for each one of those four separate acts. Yes, Your Honor.
Read books on tape. Under the Hamill decision, there has to be some separation of time, place, or circumstances. Takes 17 years to get through war and peace. Today there was one single interview. It can't be said that there was a break in either time. Hurry up. Say it. Woods, tell us about Lorenzo Neal, former fullback of the San Diego Chargers. Yeah, man, four-time pro bowler Lorenzo Neal. Has been arrested for a DUI over July 4th weekend. Okay, former football player arrested for DUI. Not that big a deal. However, Lorenzo Neal works as the chief information officer of Safe Ride Solutions, which is a DUI prevention program. And he now has said, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. I was cited, but I wasn't arrested. And cops are saying, we arrested him. I don't know if he's trying to save his gig or what he's trying to do, but he was on a golf course, had a few drinks, drove, hit a pole. Nobody else was hurt. He wasn't hurt. But they say he was arrested for DUI. And he says I was cited? Yeah, he said on his Twitter, for the record, I did not get arrested. I did not go to jail. That's how rumors get started. But I do take full responsibility for my actions. Well, kind of. There was a really, really bad accident at Camp Pendleton that involved injury and death.
Yeah, it happened yesterday around noon. One dead, five injured in a helicopter crash. Just awful. They're trying to determine what the cause of the crash was. They're saying maybe it was the heat, something related to that, but they don't know right now. They haven't released the names of the victim that passed away or the injured. But we do know that there were six people aboard the helicopter, you know, all of them. Injured, hurt, and staying right now at the Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla. One of them, five hurt, one dead is what I have? Right. All right. And then... Yesterday, what was Facebook's big announcement, Sienna? Well, it is what we thought, and Facebook is partnering with Skype, and they're adding video chat to their pages. Wow. It's going to be limited right now to one-on-one conversations, which are going to be free, but Mark Zuckerberg hinted yesterday that pretty soon it's going to be available to more people. You know, you can chat with two people at one time and more and more, but right now it's one-on-one Skype. To me, it seems kind of stupid.
But maybe people really think it's great. For me, it's something that you can already do and they're incorporating it. And this is what I mean by that. It's like, imagine if Albertsons said, hey, we're partnering with a walkie-talkie company. And now when you come into Albertsons, you can talk on a walkie-talkie. And you're like, well, I could talk on a walkie-talkie in Albertsons anyway. Right. You know, like, well, I could talk on a walkie-talkie. I don't need to do it at Albertsons. You know? What if Albertsons put an In-N-Out in Albertsons? You just blew my mind. Well, why not just go to In-N-Out? Because it's an extra stop. And not everything that you want, you know.
They're saying, hey, you can live here on Facebook. Plus, not a ton of people have. I mean, enough, but not everybody that I'd like to Skype with has an actual account because it's an extra step and software to download and stuff. And Facebook has to compete with Google, who just launched Google Plus last week. And Google Plus, one of their big things is they have video conferencing, which allows up to 10 people to participate in one video call. So Facebook had to step it up a little bit and add something. Well, I'm slow. going on this Skype thing. You know what it is for me? It's another feature that I'm going to have to turn off of my Facebook. Much like the online chat. Well, I don't understand Skype. Really? No, dude. It's so simple. It's like we FaceTime. Everybody says it's so simple. Same thing. It seems a lot easier to FaceTime than it does to Skype. I've done both. I've done both as well. You guys FaceTime? Skype is 100% easier. No way.
Kim's folks have it, and they're in their 60s, and they completely understand it. So you should be able to step right into a technology guy. Well, I know this. When I restart my computer, the stupid Skype starts up. And I can't make it stop. Yeah, he's going to probe the settings. I tried. It's a pain. Me and Mike FaceTime a few times a week. Yeah. And it's rad. FaceTime's great. And I'm always shirtless. Just write all that down. Yeah, that is weird. I'm disturbed. Why, LLB? Why do you guys admit that? Tried FaceTiming you. I never got the message. Decline. You instantly said, this person is busy. I was probably on the other line. I said out loud, weird. I was probably on the other line. You can use it on the other line. I've never gotten a FaceTime request. You know what I bet it is? I bet there's a setting in your phone that you have to have on. I probably have it off. Because I've tried it a few times and it hasn't let me. You don't want it on, do you? You won't let me FaceTime you? I don't want FaceTime. I want to be prepared if I'm going to be on camera.
Woods and I don't have to worry about that. Many shirtless FaceTimes. He is a good friend and a lover. I didn't just say that. Didn't you? That's a clip. That Woods didn't say that. That's a clip of Woods. It's kind of getting creepy. Well, neither of us said that. You did. At one point, you did. At one point, but it wasn't even in that context. We know where Casey Anthony's going to go when she... I'm not talking about hell. When she gets out of jail, when she gets out of jail, we know where she's going. We'll tell you. Also, we have audio of her parents' attorneys talking about why they left the courtroom early, what they thought about the thing, all the whole deal. Oh boy. Like a knife. Every day now I'm questioning why I have five dogs. I spent my afternoon cleaning up trash. I'm not a farter, but I live with farters. It definitely makes me laugh. What is the coolest thing I've ever made? We don't have that kind of time. I'm coming back to it right now because he's sentencing right now. The judge is sentencing. Having previously adjudged you to be guilty of the crimes contained in counts four, five, six, and seven, I will sentence you to one year in Orange County Jail, imposing a $1,000 fine on each count, all four counts to run consecutive to each other. Giving you credit for the time that you have previously served. Mr. Baez, Mr. Mason, we're going to spend some time this morning figuring out her credit for time served. And it's going to take us probably about an hour to sort of sort it out because of the previous.
Sentences that she has been given. But with the good time and gain time, depending on preliminary figures, sometime early August, maybe late July. But I can't say that until after I first determine time served and then the jail has to apply. I think the reason he's saying that is because he's talking about exact number of days that she has served. It's not just that you can flatly go. She served three years. She served a certain specific number of days. And there's 365 days in a calendar year. So they have to figure out exactly. OK, she was in jail. Then she got out of jail. Then they arrested her again. You know what I mean? No, because wouldn't you as the judge?
Do your homework and know exactly what you're going to do when you sit behind the bench? You've had a couple days. Maybe, but... He just said it's going to take an hour. He knocked that out last night, watching Friends on mute. Well, maybe they're going to haggle over it. There's nothing to haggle about. There is a number. They know the number. The judge has access to the number. It's true. I mean... But what I'm hearing right now is that she's going to do a year in jail. Oh, she's not. He just said probably late August or early August, late July. But is that what he meant by when you get out? Yeah, I think so. Why else would he have said that? Well, check it out. She did three years in prison. She's getting four years because he's putting them concurrent. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. She's only done three years. There's four counts. One year. He gets it to me on the 29th day. That's not going to be good. consecutive yet. I would do that to Mr. Mason. They have indicated that they believe they can have all the documentation to me within the time frame that I've suggested. And then that should give Mr. Mason ample time to review the validity of the affidavits of the sheriff's office. Well, I'm trying to give you a date now.
The week of August 15th, I will not be around. I'm going to Sandals. Jamaica. 22nd. Y'all know what's up. I'm involved in everything. Heatonism. On a 3851 case that's supposed to last three days. I have some time on the 25th and the 26th. Just pictured him limbo-ing with a penis rod out of his hand in Sandals, Jamaica. Hello. Have a great time. What's your name? I can fit you in on the week of the 29th. But I have to leave early that day because Belle Biv DeVoe is doing a reunion show at a local casino. I like Motown Philly.
Back again. That's Boyz II Men, Your Honor. Belle Biv DeVoe was poisoned. That girl is poisoned. You know that. No, I thought we got Boyz II Men tickets. We got Belle Biv DeVoe tickets. I couldn't get Boyz II Men tickets. Sorry. That means I got the wrong tickets. Yes. If they don't sing Motown Philly. I thought it was Belle Biv. Can we get our money back? No. Well, then I'll be here then. I guess I don't want to see Bill Bibdeville. So when would you like to hear him, folks? Any of those options is acceptable. You can have the 25th or the 26th. That should give you more than enough time to get the information, get it to Mr. Mason, Mr. Baez, and have them. On the 27th.
I'm going on a Motown champagne cruise. You want to do it Thursday or Friday the 25th of the 26th? I won't be available. Thursday's fine, the 25th. That's acceptable to counsel. And I don't know what Ms. Anthony's status will be at that point. Do they want to waive her appearance at that or have her present? I don't know if you want to address that issue now. Can she get... Bail? Or does she have to do that year in prison? It looks like what the breaking news says is that she's going back to prison for a year, which shocks me. That's why I didn't know if we wanted to address whether or not support would require... It just does. Because the four different times that she lied, each one is worth one year in jail. I know, but why does it shock you? Because I thought she... I mean, my gut feeling is that she'd be walking out this weekend, time served. I thought so, too.
I think we all did. Didn't everybody say that? Yeah, we all thought that. The reason that I think it's not happening is because the judge thinks that she killed her daughter, and so he wants to give her the maximum. Because he can, legally. She's bummed, though, because she was like, I'm out today. Yeah, you could tell. If you cannot afford the services of an attorney to assist you with this appeal, the court will appoint one to represent you. Bear those rights in mind and after consulting with your attorney, do you wish to appeal? I can have a moment, Your Honor. You may? Because we didn't expect this. Sweet. I was 100% that me and the young lady would be at the Four Seasons Miami by 2 o'clock. We have a check-in. Oh, gosh. Your Honor, we would like to reserve our right to make that decision at a later time. You have 30 days from today's date to file a notice of appeal or you forfeit or give up your right to appeal. Casey Anthony's going back to prison. Does she have the financial wherewithal, Mr. Baez, if she decides to appeal? I'll loan her the money. To pay for appellate counsel? No, Your Honor. Oh, wow.
If she decides. Wow. She just looked at him like, I won't. Did you see her eyes when he when he said no, Your Honor? He the judge asked, will she have the money to be able to afford this? And he says no. And watch her eyes. No, Your Honor. But we would. If she decides to do that, then please make sure that she fills out an affidavit of insolvency with the clerk of the court. To timely bring that matter so counsel can be. With all due respect to your honor, what is your problem? As you know, if she does not file a timely notice of appeal, then she forfeits or gives up her right to appeal. If she decides to appeal and she wants to appoint counsel, but it will be your responsibility.
To file the necessary appellate paper. All right, wait. Let's listen to Randy Grossman, attorney at law. Before any appeal would be heard. But that's really a decision for attorneys to decide and make whether they feel that she was truthfully and properly convicted of those counts. And it sounds like they will do it on their own penny if they do decide to do that. Yeah, I did get that impression from Mr. Mason who said that they would take it on. We're looking at live pictures as everyone exits the courtroom. Cindy and George Anthony just left the courtroom as well. We hear that there are pretty big crowds outside right now wondering what their reaction will be. If we can get a camera outside, we'll show that to you as well. We did hear reports that deputies were just... armed with gas masks just in case this morning the crowd got out of control. And the fact that she will remain in custody will probably relieve a lot of that tension that is going on outside the courtroom, obviously, that she will not be released today and continue to stay behind bars, at least for the immediate future. All right, you're seeing the wrap. Wow. That's pretty big news. Quite a hodgepodge of people exiting the courtroom. Yes, I just saw Santa Claus. Walk out.
He's not supposed to be in Orlando. Well, he vacations there. He does? It's off-season. It's summer there. That wasn't Mrs. Claus I saw him with. That's fair enough. Don't start rumors, Jay. I also got in black jeans, a black t-shirt with both sleeves cut off with bleach blonde hair. It was a Nike fit. And a medallion. It was awesome. I don't mean to be a buzzkill. I don't think Santa Claus should be vacationing. Dude, the guy needs a break. Maybe. Take a couple of days at the North Pole, but you can't just take off the freaking Orlando. He's got elves. Casey Anthony trial. He has a big night, one night a year. Yeah. And then he gets to, you know, put his feet up. Do you know how much work it is to get toys for every kid in the world? A lot of work. You don't just get to go to Orlando and watch the Casey Anthony trial? Like, we're not going to recognize you because you're not in your suit. If you're Santa Claus, you do. Yeah. He doesn't even have a passport, bro. Guy can do whatever he wants. How do you think we have all those ornaments and pictures of him on a surfboard with board shorts and a hat on? Right. I always thought that was Photoshop. That's real? Yes. It's real. He goes to Orlando every year. Every summer. Like clockwork. Get with the program. Hey, listen. I might be able to be okay with the whole Orlando thing. If it's Disney World and all that. Epcot. The Casey Anthony trial.
Of course. He's curious. It's the biggest thing ever. He needs to know if she's going on the naughty or nice list. I think we know what list she's on. Thank you very much. Santa knows. He doesn't need to need it adjudicated. Thank you. Mark Lipman is the attorney for the Anfernies and was on Good Morning America yesterday talking about... threats that have been made against Cindy and George Anthony. We know they are facing death threats right now. How are they holding up? They're holding well. Obviously, there's some concern, but the Orange County Sheriff's... They hold well. ...office is doing their job very well, and they're being protected. Mark Lipman, their attorney, talks about how George and Cindy reacted to the verdict. And we saw no reaction whatsoever from George and Cindy Anthony yesterday as that verdict was read. Were they surprised? I think they were shocked that it came back not guilty, but you can never tell what a jury's going to do, and they were expecting anything. Shocked because they don't believe their daughter is innocent? No, shocked just that the jury... Well, yes.
actually. I didn't find any sort of evidence against her. And even though the state did a fantastic job, the defense came through with defending their client as they predicted. Well, what do they believe? Do they believe? Well, unfortunately, those are some things I can't discuss because of attorney-client privilege. But they don't, the things that the defense said, certainly that they don't believe my client, George Anthony and Lee Anthony never molested her. Certainly, George had nothing to do with moving the body, and the rest of the things that the defense said about my clients in particular never happened. Yeah. In fact, I guess her statement to them would be, my bad. Sorry about that, Dad. Lee. J.K., J.K., J.K. Wink face. Hopefully, she gets put in the general populace, whatever it's called. General populace. There, I got to know. I love it. I love it so much. I love it so much. You tried three times. Put him in a genuine populate. Isolate. Isolate. That was better than the other one. He psychs himself out. He does. I'm going to say it now. Here it comes. Here it comes.
It's like a sneeze when he's going to. Thank you. Thank you. When he's going to do that. Hi, could I speak to Nicole, please? This is Nicole. Hi, Nicole. It's Mikey. Hi. How are you? I'm good. We had pizza last night. That's it? Yeah, that's it. There's some pizza? Are you going to celebrate this weekend or something? No, I got to work. Do you have a boyfriend? No. A husband? Are you married? No. Rub it in. I wasn't trying to...

We'll celebrate with her. Yes. Shoot us an email and you can come in. Yeah. Well, Nicole. You can bring someone with you or not. Yes. Nicole, we love you a lot. Thank you. Love you guys, too. And you know what we should do? Do we have something that we could give Nicole? Sure we do. We could give her $40 in gameplay to Dave and Busters. How about that? How about that? And then I found out, oh, no, she lives in a shoe with cats. No. When I was 24, I was single and loving it. Yeah. Single mingle, man. Well, you guys made me feel like a monster or something. I don't know. Hopefully she has somebody to take to Dave and Buster's with her. She does. Does she? Her roommate. She could just join us. Can I speak to Nadia, please?
This is Audia. Rise and shine, pumpkin. You guys are crazy. What are you doing? Just hanging out. Just chilling? How old are you today? 27. Look at you. I didn't do that. I didn't play that sound effect. What are you wearing? Oh, what? Gosh, Woods, you weirdo. I say that out loud? Yes. What's your wife wearing to work today? Yes. Oh, okay. You're 27. Are you married? No. It's okay to ask. Is it bad to ask people if they have someone in their life? Do you have a boyfriend? No, but if you have anyone in mind. I do. His name is Cross. Chris Ackerman. I got a handsome guy that I would love to. She'd be robbing the cradle. Yeah, she would. Feels real good.

I think he ever woke up on a couch and said, where am I? I think it was more like, where the hell am I? You think he's ever made love to Ken? No, Jay. I'm pretty sure he has. Think he's ever engaged in gay activities? It's like, what? Y'all think he's ever smoked crack? Ever dressed as a woman?
Sienna, what's going on in the news? Well, a man who was arrested on charges for murdering a woman in South Dakota told a TV station yesterday that he also planned to kill President Obama. His name is James McVeigh, and he said that he intended to travel to Washington to kill him while he was golfing. Oh, wow. Yeah. Also, an investigation just revealed that significant test grades made by students in Atlanta... We're the result of a cheating scandal by teachers and principals. About 178 different teachers involved in this scandal. They're saying it's the largest cheating scandal in U.S. history. Oh, my. Yeah. Woodsy, what's going on in sports? Sports is brought to us today by our friends at Frank's Red Hot. Frank's Red Hot. Get some! All day long. The Padres had won two in a row. They lost last night in the 14th inning to the Giants. They had a 4-1 lead early in the game, and they blew that lead. Pat Neshek was charged with the loss. Which means that you reset. Reset it up. If the Padres win six games in a row, Woods will save a Friars cut into his head. It is...
It's scary for me to watch Padres win these days. Yeah, I know. Also, Terrell Owens is shopping a sitcom on his life. It will be called Eight and One, and it is, quote, loosely based on my life and career. I have four kids by three different moms. It will showcase my skills as an actor, which is something I want to do after football. That, again, is Eight and One, the new Terrell Owens sitcom. Can't wait. She shook your head. Woods lost a bet and will be enjoying Lord of the Rings at my home tomorrow. Wouldn't say enjoying. Watching. Hey, Gollum. Do you think that you will be Woods' favorite character? I think I will get into his mind and hear all their impressions of me. Woods hates fantasy movies. I mean, despises fantasy movies. His phrase is, I like girls. Yeah.
I love girls, too. This is your nightmare. I would rather eat donuts off the bathroom floor. I mean, I'd, you know. You'd do that anyway. We've done that anyway. We just call that a Monday. Rise Against, and Ms. Lauren Hill. July 30th, L.A. Coliseum. So yeah, the prosecuting attorney in the Casey Amferny case was this guy by the name of, what is it? Jeff Ashton. Jeff Ashton. And he accidentally called Barbara Walters, sir. You know, it happens. And let me see. I'm trying to find it. Where do I have it? Here we go. What? No. I didn't get it. I screwed up. Oh, no, no, no. I do. I do. I do. Let me ask a question that some people are raising. That sounds like Gollum. I know. That sounds like the voice that L.O.B. did for Gollum.
Let me ask you a question. Ask a question that some people are raising. You seem to feel that you did your best, right? Yes, sir. Yes, ma'am. I got what I think. Oh, gosh. Oh, yes, sir. He's probably used to doing it with the court. That's what he says. Yes, sir. Yes, ma'am. I got what I think. I'm so used to judges. And only men can be judges. So that's the, I mean, no, no, no. I didn't mean, well, what I was trying to say, sir, I mean. Did you hear how quickly all the women jumped to his aid as not to confuse that he actually thought Barbara was a man? Of course. The hen house. He didn't think you were a man. No, that's not what he thought. No, I actually thought she was a man. Bob Walters. Jay's new bit is to tape people singing in the bathroom or doing whatever. So he tells Woods to take the recorder with him at all times. And Woods got this this morning. That's me. I know. So it's exactly like it. Dead on.
Oh my gosh. I think it's hasn't died. Hasn't died? Yeah. Oh, okay. How about it? Willie. That's identical to Willie now. Identical Willie. You're always... Are you taping? You did? Are you taping? Jay told me to. Who blames it on Jay? Of course. He did, though. You guys just playing with your willies in there? Vince words, Jay. I liked that one. He's been holding on to that line. It's true. Yeah, since this morning. He's been waiting so anxiously. This morning, when we play Willie Nelson, I will say, are you playing with your willies? Wiener time.
Tell me, Sienna, about Justin Timberlake and what he's doing now to revive MySpace. Well, the new owners of MySpace is Specific Media and Justin Timberlake is part of that. And the plan is they're going to have a talent competition on MySpace to draw more people over there, which is a pretty brilliant idea considering they're going to be focusing on musicians and it's mainly going to be music. This is Story of the J. Nah, look at him. He's like, no, I don't want to do Justin Timberlake. Every day we make J do voices because all of his voices sound the same. But we'll see. This time he's going to be Justin Timberlake. And we will interview him as just, it's so funny when I play that theme and he finds out for the first time, oh, that's what I'm going to be. Hi, Justin Timberlake. What's happening? Not too much. Oh, my God. How are you, Justin? So, Justin, you bought MySpace. Say again. You bought MySpace, and you're going to revamp it. You're going to do a big contest on there. Yeah, dog. I got people like $5 million down and bought me some MySpace.
What happened to your voice, Justin? You know, it's gotten very high. Very high, your voice. Extremely high. You know, Doug, I like to talk real high. And just be high. Pretty much, Doug, I like to speak. Thank you, Justin Timberlake. Outstanding. Oh, wow. Thank you. There's going to be a press conference on August 17th with Justin Timberlake and the new management. They're going to go over all the details. That's fantastic. Mickey Mouse. This is the most random thing I've ever seen. Ever. I couldn't make this up. We do a daily recap here on the Mikey Show where we... We'll tell you, you know, I have everybody write to me and say, what'd you do yesterday? Because sometimes there's some interesting stuff that comes out of it. Here's what Jay said. I was talking with a buddy, and we put together a list of things we find sexy. Here they are. Oh, wow. Tennis players. Damn, those short skirts. You're reading that off the page. Yes, dude. Yes, see that? I'm reading it. Oh, my goodness. A good sense of humor.
Needs to laugh. Good mothers. They take care of you. No, sorry. Good mothers. They take care if you. If you what? If you need it. Adventurous. Need to be willing to get crazy. Want to get crazy? Flexible women. Need I say more? You're kidding. No, I'm not. Tell me you're kidding. I'm not kidding. I can't tell you that. Runners. Runners. Tone and tan. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. Again, these are the things that Jay wrote on his recap that he and a buddy find sexy. By buddy, I'm sure he means Adam Martinez. Tone and tan. Tone and tan. Two more. Chefs. Something. Oh, no. Sorry. Three more. Chefs. Something about the outfit and knowing that they will cook for you. The white jacket with the weird hat? The hat? No, it seems strange. I like a woman to look like Chef Boyardee. Is that Mikey saying that? Oh, boy. Independent women. Strong and confident. And then lastly, on the list of things that Jay and his buddy find sexy, great bodies. Duh.
Dude, I couldn't make it up, bro. I'm speechless. Woods, I couldn't make it up. That's Jay's recap today. Need to be said. Do you not agree? Flexible women. Need I say more? There you go. Need I say more? By me and the buddy, do you mean you and your diary? I could actually read L.O.B.'s recap in Jay's voice because they both lead very healthy lives. So this is L.O.B.'s recap. Yesterday I had a very productive day. Caught up on some backlog in the work and then headed to a hot yoga class. Then went for a run on the 101 with my sister and visited with my niece. Then headed to Whole Foods to check out the latest health fads. Then headed back home. Right now I'm pole sitting for my neighbors, so I swam some laps and fine really.
relaxed in the hot tub overlooking the Pacific. Wow. As I was sitting in the hot tub, I couldn't help but soak in and appreciate my freedom. What? It was so nice to just be floating carefree without worries of, say, having murdered someone and spun myself into a tangled web of lies, having thrown my entire family under the bus and effectively ruined their lives. Having all of America hate me, you know, things like that. Wow. Very pointed recap. Sounds like L.O.B. is speaking specifically to or about someone specifically. It's not a subtle point you're making. Yesterday, I was talking to my wife on the phone as I was driving home and I heard her go, oh, no, no, no, no. And then I heard. And then.
A three second silence. And then basically the loudest, shrillest, gnarliest cry I've ever heard in my life. Blood curdling. Which one? And she said, I have to call you back. And I very calmly said, okay. You didn't ask what happened? Well, I wasn't going to ask then. Who it was? I'm not going to ask it then. She's in an emergency situation. She has to react. Am I going to investigate? That's true. Before you care for whoever is in dire need right now, can I ask a couple questions? Who is it? What's the problem? And how do you plan on resolving it? Wait, babe. Hang on. Just a couple more questions. Are they okay? Are they going to be okay? Okay, cool. Call me back.
To fill in the blanks. I knew who it was. Who do you think it was? It's the one whose toes point inward. My little boy, Ryan. Little guy's pigeon toed. Why? I'm a monster. Wait. Hang on. Wait a second. Hang on. Moment. What? I'm upset. You're a monster. Excuse me. Excuse me. Excuse me. It's not the way you have to describe him. I am painting a picture. I am a radio broadcaster whose job it is to paint a picture. I cannot simply say, you know, Orion. Why not? It doesn't say enough.
You do every other time. You're the crier. Ry-ry, the crier. Crying, cries. Oh, he's just crying. Gollum, cry, cry. But Luke's so cute. Luke's so cute. He's so strong. He's so lean. Oh, my gosh. You should see Luke. It's unfair, and it needs to stop. Monster. Okay, but I have one other story to tell you. No, I don't want to know. Monster. I got home, and all of a sudden, at the top of the stairs, there was Lukey. That cute little bubs crawled right out of that crib. Can you believe it? You guys? What? What? Why do you take joy in Ryan's misery? I don't. I don't take joy in Ryan's misery. Then why would you tell that Luke story? Because it was so dang cute. Because Luke's better than Ryan. He's not better than Ryan. Something happened to his toes that that was an important part of the story. Well, that's how he tripped. And the fact that the floor was slippery.
The lady had just... Claudia had just... You don't think that had more to do with it? Probably nothing to do with his toes. Right. No, no, no. Luke was on the same floor. His feet face forward. Luke was doing push-ups. You did a backflip, actually. It was amazing. Balancing on one leg. So Ryan is more like you, and Luke is more like Rebecca, is what we're saying. I'm going to fight for that little Ryan. Okay, okay. Yeah. What is that even? It's killing me. It's killing me. I will say, I was at Mike's house the other day. Luke was standing on the couch and nearly doing backflips. And I say nearly doing backflips. He almost had one at one point. I'm not kidding. I watched how he did the thing, how he did the crib thing. It's impressive. He's big and he's strong. It's really funny. He climbs on the corner of the crib and he...
Climbs out on the corner, and then he, with his own strength, lowers himself down onto the floor. Let's go. It's incredible. Like a monkey. That's incredible. You need to have a little one-on-one afternoon with your son, Ryan. I'll tell you what's cute about Ryan, and I mean this. Please. I mean this 100%. Don't you dare. No, no, no, I'm not. I'm not going to screw around. I'm not going to screw around. Okay. He was crying the other day. Weird. Backhanded? Yes. I picked him up. Uh-huh. And it was pretty sweet. He lays his, and I've never, none of the three kids do this, but Ryan lays his head on your shoulder. And none of them do that. That's pretty cute. He just appreciates your love. That's what he wants. All he wants is your love. Hang on. Hang on. That's not true. All any kid wants is your love. He also wants a lot more food. And he does this when he wants it. He does this sign for more. Okay. So like I said. We taught him baby sign language and he points a finger onto the palm of his hand. Yeah. Now, Lukey's just wired different. He doesn't want more. He eats what he has. He's fine. Ry-Ry will eat his food very fast. Okay. I thought we were saying positive things about him. I am. Right. Are you? How am I saying something negative? I'm telling you a story. I will also say that when I was at Mike's the other day, all I heard from Ryan, and this is a true story, all I heard was da-da, da-da, da-da. He loves you.
Kid loves his dad-dad. Oh, I love him. I love that kid. I love them all equally. I'm just telling you, that little dude, he cries all the time. Hey, listen. I'm going to defend. That's what I do. Yeah. So you just know, whenever you say stuff, you're going to get an earful from me. I said, do we cut him off at some point with the macaroni? We probably, we should. You know, because I've been down that road. Was it a King Says macaroni? Which is the meal that... I'd answer! Are you going to allow him a king-sized breakfast every day? The way your parents allowed you. All right. When I was a kid, when I was 12, I was very overweight. Borderline, you know, juvenile diabetes. And I was so large, you know. I was so big. And my mom would put me in cords, smaller cords than I should wear.
That was a motivating thing, she thought. Well, if they're tight, he'll lose weight. That was me walking down the street. Start a fire. Yep. Chords just rubbing back and forth. Beige cords just rubbing. Inner thighs just chafed. With your Mervyn sweatshirt. Your baby blue. Looks like you're wearing a throwback Chargers sweater. Without the logo. Without the logo. Without the lightning bolt. But just a yellow stripe on the sleeve. There's Mike. And my eating was so out of control, you know, to self-medicate myself at 12. The family, on the advice of a physician, decided that I would get one king-size... Give me food.
They called it a king size meal. Did they call that or did you name it that? I don't recall. I'm pretty sure it was you. But I remember once in Tucson visiting my brother with family and being on the verge of tears. Did you get hurt? No. Did they kick you? I was on the verge of tears because everybody was having breakfast. And I wanted, and we were going to sizzler that night. Oh, my God. It hurts. You're a sweet kid. I'm sorry. It's sad. I know. It's unfortunate. We were going to sizzler that night. And I wanted.
to, well, I tell you what. Just hang on. Or maybe we got it. Maybe we just said it. We did leave people hanging like that. It's my favorite. Gosh darn. Woods loves the stories about my humiliating... Your king-sized breakfast kills me. Woods and Jamie will say to each other, hey, you want to go get me? Let your voice be heard on The Mikey Show now. Why don't you tell him the whole story? Good morning to you. This is Bird from Bird Surfshed with the FM 94.9 Authentic Surf 440 Thursday morning. Being brought to you by Frostbrood Coors Light. When the mountains turn blue, it's as cold as the Rockies and ready to drink. Coors Brewing Company, Golden, Colorado. It's going to be a hot scorcher today and maybe good for a cold one a little bit later. Surf-wise, looking pretty small. West-northwesterly swell is the primary direction. But again, on a weak side, secondary south swell out there as well, but just lingering on. Overall, we're looking at knee-high, ankle-knee-high waves, up the waist-high, the occasional spots. Rare pluses on the tide push as that fills in later throughout the morning as well. Light and variable winds will greet you. Mostly sunny skies already, and it's hot and sticky. Never once turned it on. Sienna. I feel great because I love to go on walks and I hate to run. And Jay. I like mayonnaise and crackers. On FM 94.9. Just having some oatmeal and a grapefruit. It's real good. Trying to lose some weight. I lost a long pound. Yeah. Yeah, so I was telling you a story about my childhood. I was a chubby kid. Okay, I was 12 and I used to, I wore cords with tennis shoes. And I would wear a blue, a light, blue sweatshirt, like a sweater. So I would wear a sweatshirt in place of a sweater and then wear like a collared polo pullover type shirt with the collars poking out. Not by choice, by the way. I did not like that outfit. In fact, it made me feel hideous. But I felt that it was an appropriate little boy outfit, even though I was
12 and developing breast, he says. Breast? I remember we visited the school nurse, which was humiliating. By we, you mean who? You and your mother? Me and my mother visited the school nurse to discuss my weight. Yes, yes. And the nurse felt That it would be a good idea if I had one large meal a day instead of various large meals per day. Several. And so we decided I would have one large meal per day, which I remember upset me a lot. I wasn't used to just one. So we went to Tucson to visit my brother.
And we were going out to the equivalent of Donovan's for us. Sizzler. And it was as if we were... Have you seen the commercials where the little kids find out they're going to Disneyland? Yes. That's what it was like when my parents announced that we were going to Sizzler. Sizzler was my Disneyland. Your favorite place on earth. The happiest. Yeah, it was the happiest place on earth. And I would think, like a child would think about the Matterhorn, I thought about the line. Like a child would think about what a wonderful, what is it called? It's a wonderful life. It's a wonderful world. It's a small world. It's a wonderful life. See, I don't even know. Some kids would dream about, it's a small world. And I would dream about that little Texas toast that came along with the filet. With the little plastic red toothpick thing poked in there. Wow. Just write all that down. To let you know that it was medium rare.
Very vivid memory. I do. When it... Yep. When it what? Self-edit. So I remember it was all-you-can-eat shrimp. Oh. And that morning, my family was preparing a breakfast. And it was a typical breakfast that we would enjoy as a family. Fried potatoes with over-easy eggs, bacon, and... Fresh tortillas. And I wanted to have that. Yeah. And they wanted me to have like a little thing of cereal. I just want to hug you right now. Because we were going to go to Sizzler later. Right. And that was going to be where my king size meal was that day. Right. And you couldn't, you couldn't have the normal breakfast. That's two king size breakfasts. Did you ever try this? Listen, mom and dad, I'm going to do two king size today.
No king size tomorrow. No bargaining? Because you knew you had to have one king size meal a day. There would be no negotiation. I might have cried. I might have cried at the humiliating thought of A, being 12 and not moving. You know, each day. Not moving my body. And then, while everyone was enjoying this bountiful feast. Oh, and it smells so good. Smells so good. Smell the bacon and the eggs. So hungry when you wake up in the morning. You came down the stairs excited when you smelled it. That's right. And there I sat with my humiliation bowl. Humiliation bowl? It was a bowl of shame. It was shameos. Shredded shame. Little shredded shameos. And I would eat my little thing, crying. Aww. Aww.
But then mom would comfort me by saying, but you get to go to Sizzler tonight. Really? Seriously? Sad? It's the greatest story ever. Period. Period. M1 Nikki from San Diego. Hi. What was the word of the day? Grapefruit, grapefruit. That is right. Well done. Yeah. Well done. You just won yourself tickets to the L.A. Coliseum to see Rage Against the Machine, L.A. Rising. Meows. Meows. Rise Against. Yes. And Ms. Lauryn Hill. You got it. Hang on, my darling. Hang on. I think the sizzler ever panicked when Mikey came walking in. Mikey'd eat shrimp. Poison tip. You better need a bigger boat.
As if that story didn't get him enough. That's a poison-tipped arrow. I don't think that we have enough shrimp. Yeah. You guys. Look who's coming. Oh, God. Look, it's minivan. Look, it's minivan. Say that. It's so ridiculous. Look, it's minivan. Hey, guys, how much shrimp do we have? We got 60 pounds back here. Oh, no. Is that it? That's it? That's a lot of shrimp, bro. Give me four. No, minivan's here. Oh, boy. Well, I know. What time's the last runner going out? Well, I think they're done, but last year when he was here, we went through 179 pounds of shrimp. Should I call the Scottsdale location and see if... Call them and see if they can be here by... God, it's like two hours away. He's here. He's here. Well, he'll be here a while. He'll be here a while. I'll tell you what. Why don't we give him the first 60 pounds?
Maybe he'll have other stuff, too. This is the worst. Really, Betty? Oh. Really? Well, I mean, we got plenty of Texas toast. He loves the Texas toast. He does. I saw him shoving Texas toast in his pockets last year. Shoot, that could kind of throw a Mikey wrench. Well, that could throw us off. A Mikey wrench. Well, then you're going to have to, you know, be the... A Mikey wrench? He's going to throw a Mikey wrench in the whole deal. You be the strong arm, then. You stand out there, and if he starts to put stuff in his pocket... Well, I don't know. This will have to be the Gestapo. Yeah, you have to. Well, let's just start by giving him the 60, and then if we go further than that, we'll have to call it by our other stores. Let's put it on ice. And then it'll look like there's more. Yes. And kind of, you know. You know what sucks, too? Freaking soft serve machines down. Oh. Gosh. Hi, guys. Oh, no. Hi, Mikey. Hey, bud. How have you been, buddy? Oh, I'm good. We missed you. What are you doing, Steve? Oh, just working, man. Just working for a living. Yeah. Is everything going good at school? Yeah. Things are good. Just here for summer. I'm going to cry. Just working away. But you know what I want. I do.
It's right over there. All you can eat, right? All you can eat. Kingside breakfast. Well, we have... Hey, guys, listen to my ringtone. Sorry. I want you to hear my ringtone. Do you want to hear it? Yeah, you got a new ringtone? Yeah, listen. Five ways at Hometown Buffet. That's a competition. That's my retail. Hey, for around $10, create your plate with our new flavorful buffalo shrimp. Oh, that's cute. You're so savvy. You got a shrimp in your throat. It's a tail. It's a tail. You got to wait till your parents pay, bud, before you get in line. My mom's going to play. I did want to tell you before you get started. The soft serve machine is down. I'm not kidding. It's down. It's broken. It's the cooling agent. It's not. We have Jell-O, though. Yeah, there's Jell-O. There's a lot of Jell-O. We've got pie, I think. Pie. I don't want that. It's a kick-ass meal.
I got everything. You're going to have to deal with this one. We have whipped cream for the jello. I don't buy that. What if I brought you out an industrial size gallon of Cool Whip? Do you want a sticker? We have a sticker. He can't eat stickers. I know. He's not going to eat stickers. I mean, he may. He might eat stickers. Can we go to the store and get, like, a candy bar? Oh, boy. Like a king-size candy bar. King-size. That's where the term came from. Yeah. I bought one Snickers, and they were like, we should make that thing bigger. 570. 194-9 is our phone number. So last night, Nightline, Jennifer Ford, juror number three, talks about finding Casey Anthony not guilty. Why? Why did you and the other jurors acquit Casey Anthony of murdering her daughter? There wasn't enough.
There wasn't anything strong enough to say exactly. I don't think anyone in America could tell us exactly how she died. If you put even just the 12 jurors in one room with a piece of paper, write down how Kaylee died, nobody knows. We'd all be guessing. We have no idea. So it's cause of death that was a problem? How can you punish someone for something if you don't know what they did? She's right. This sucks. Yeah. She's right, though. When you all went... to deliberate this case? Were you unanimous from the start? No. Oh, no. Really? No. I mean, a lot of people, I mean, I don't know, I don't really want to speak for everyone else, but there were a lot of conflicting ideas, and some people were like, you know, I feel like she did, but there's just not enough to substantiate it. Some people were just like, no, she didn't do it. Like, they have nothing. They have nothing for me to even have any idea what happened. And I did hear someone say, you know,
We're from Pinellas County. We didn't have that emotion and whatever. That means we have no bias. We're just looking at the facts. And the facts, when you don't have that emotional connection, they don't prove anything. Like, I'm still confused. I have no idea what happened to that child. You don't? Because the child was in a bag buried. How do children get inside of a bag with duct tape and then get buried? Listen, if you found a goldfish that way, you know how the goldfish died. Now, maybe not. Maybe the goldfish was taken out of the fishbowl and it suffocated because there was no water. And then somebody put it in the bag and put duct tape around it. And that's for real, I guess. Right? All they needed, they needed a partial print. They needed something linking that woman physically to that bag, to that body.
And it was a done deal. Well, this is the one thing that I threw out there as devil's advocate that was making my wife crazy. I said, Kaylee's car, the trunk of it smelled like decomposition, correct? Yes. I said, who was that? She said, clearly Kaylee. I said, okay. I said, who put her there? She said, Casey. I said, explain. How do we know that? Right. How do you tie Casey to that smell in that car? You can't. Not physically. You physically cannot. Cannot. It's impossible. You can't. Especially when the car was found in an abandoned parking lot with the keys in it. Right. Which means that somebody could have stole the car and they could have, clearly everyone had access to the car. Yeah. They never had her explain that part. What? Why her car was just abandoned. Like that never came up. It did, but it wasn't anything out of the ordinary. It wasn't anything crazy.
You know, wouldn't start, blah, blah, blah, that kind of deal. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary. But I mean, she's kind of right when she says, can anybody answer that? If you be in that jury room and you go, hey, how do we put Casey with that car, that odor in that car? We can't. And people would be like, you know it was her. And you go, we're not allowed to do that. We have to actually tie her to that. Now, me, I would argue if I were in the jury room, I would argue, I'm sorry, but we have to believe that all of those lies were for nothing. That's what we have to believe, which to me is. And then somebody would have said, Mike, just because she lied doesn't mean she killed. What was her motivation for lying? She's a liar. She's been lying for years. She just likes to lie. She likes to lie. And it's been.
The prosecution proved a giant pattern of lies. And before her daughter was murdered, she was a pathological liar. She'd been lying for years. I mean, I think that, again, the lack of physical evidence, the lack of tying her to that scene is why she's free. The problem is that if somebody burns your house down and you don't do anything about it and you go about your life like it's normal, And then you tell people that you were just in your house the other day watching a movie. And it's discovered that your house in reality was burnt down. There is question that you're an arsonist. Sure, there's question. Do you have proof? Do I have gas in my hand? Yes. Do I have a mask? You don't have proof. Here's my proof, juror number four. I'll be juror number five. Juror number four. Yes, juror number five. Why the heck would you say you were watching a movie in your house? I was just being an idiot.
Okay, I'll buy that. I'll buy that you were just being an idiot. But your house burnt down. Yeah, it did. I don't want to talk about it, man. It was traumatic. I had a lot of trauma happen in my life. Things that you don't know about. He got me. He freaking got me. I mean, I don't... I'm sorry. He got... That's true. I don't have to tell you anything. I'll tell you what I want to tell you. He's right, man. I watch a lot of those shows. People have been put... Gosh darn it. ...put to death for a lot less mounting evidence against them. I think if this weren't such a high-profile case, she would have gotten convicted. But people were like... Yeah, but these people didn't know. They didn't know it was a high-profile case. Didn't they? No. That's why they were on the jury. They didn't know everything that was happening. They didn't know what it was. All they knew was that they were going to be on a murder case. The jury selection began in May of this year. This happened three years ago. No, no, no. Yes. No. I think that's about right. In May of this year. It did? Yes. That's why they moved it from Orlando, but almost everybody knew something of this story. Right. That's the flaw with the jury system is that...
They do the bit where they move counties, and it's like, oh, okay. And they knew it was being televised and everything like that. It's like if they did it in Temecula because it's Riverside County. Right, exactly. It's like you could have moved a Casey Anthony trial to Tijuana, and people would have been like, oh, that's the girl that killed her daughter. That's that girl that killed her daughter. Exactly. You don't necessarily want to be on the jury that sent someone to death. What about the fact, Jennifer Ford, juror number three, that you guys didn't even spend that much time, you clowns? 10, 11 hours? That was it? There have been people who said you only deliberated 10 or 11 hours, and that shows you weren't serious. That you didn't really look at the evidence. It's a 31-day trial or whatever it was, 33-day trial. They say you must not have looked at the evidence. That's speculation, and you know what? Speculation is not fact. We had a lot of discussions. started to look through stuff, but none of it, how did she die? If you're going to charge someone with murder, don't you have to know how they killed someone or why they might have killed someone or have something where, when, why, how? Those are important questions that were not answered. Doesn't it kill you that she's right? Yeah. Sienna, do you think she's right about that? I don't want to admit that she is. But she is. Gosh darn it, I hate it. I would have felt better if they at least looked at one piece of evidence because, you know, the trial lasted for what?

Also, crazy story, a man who was hiking with his wife in Yellowstone was killed yesterday by a grizzly bear. A female bear was protecting her cubs and went after this man. He passed away, and this is the first fatal bear mauling in Yellowstone since 86. Wow. Yeah. Woodsy, what's going on in sports? You guys ready for that's a true statement? Nope. Oh, boy. Gosh darn. Gosh darn. This is going to be spicy. I'm reaching in. Spicy. I am grabbing a piece of paper. It says the following. Oh, I tore it. I don't believe anyone is really scared of clowns. That's a true statement. Who said that? Me. Sienna. Sienna. Yeah. Explain. It's become like a popular thing to be like, ooh. Oh, I don't like clowns. You don't like clowns either. We don't like clowns. They're freaking humans with makeup on. What's so scary about it? Get over it. It's not a big deal. It's a bit. It's a bit. It is not a bit. Can I explain why? Can I explain what's terrifying about clowns? There's what? I'll explain. Exaggerated features. Oh, please. Get over it. Everyone has different features. Yeah, but nobody's got eyes.
That big. And if they do, they're scary. Yeah, if they do, they're scary. Yep. If they have a big, giant mouth and you look under the bed. It's ridiculous. Oh, man. If you look under the bed and there's a clown. If you look under the bed and there's anything, you're going to poop your pants. But especially a clown. Picture a room. LOP scared me. Picture a room at night. It's an old-fashioned room, Sienna. When does this happen? I just want you to imagine it. Clowns are at birthday parties. And circuses. They're fun. They're giving you balloons and face painting. Just walk through this with me. All right. You're in a bedroom, and it's old-fashioned, antique. Mm-hmm. In the corner of the room is a rocking chair. And sitting on the rocking chair is a clown. A little toy clown. Okay. The lights go off. Mm-hmm. There you are in the room with just the moonlight. Shimmering in. Yeah. Through the window. Mm-hmm. Just enough to illuminate that little clown's black eyes. Peering at you. Ridiculous. Yes, it's got a smile on its face, but behind that smile, well, it could be anything, couldn't it? Grow up. Grow up. Yeah, sure. It looks like a clown. Oh, my gosh. It's a stuffed dog. Oh, my God. It's a little doll on a chair. What if that dog came to life? Oh, gosh. You could paint that portrait.
With anything. Yes, it's ridiculous. What if there was an old man sitting in that chair when you walked in? You would pee your pants. And it could be your abuelo. Abuelo. What if there was a baby sitting on that rocking chair? Hey, if it was a stuffed baby, like a little, you know, toy baby, I'm screaming. Well, it looks so harmless, doesn't it, with its smiles to you? Oh, yes, clowns are very funny. So was John Wayne Gacy, wasn't he? Oh, my gosh. Not me.
You know what I think the scariest thing is about clowns? What? And this goes for mimes, and this goes for the guy that dresses in all silver, and the people that dress in statues. They don't say anything, even though they can talk. It's creepy. It's not that they scare me. I just don't like them. Because they scare you. They scare you. Because they're... Sorry, clowns. They are hiding behind the makeup, and they are... Smell of alcohol. They're entertaining children. No, they're not. They are. Get a real job. Get a real job. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. You know, they're just like, you know, they always have erections. Exactly. They got herpes. Yeah. He's naming things off that don't have anything to do with clowns. They smell like alcohol. And they've got their mustache. They're not shaven underneath their makeup. He's talking about a particular clown. Clown, right. He's like, yes. He's like, they always ask you into their Ford. In 1892. Yes. He's mentioning a very specific clown. I just hate clowns because they smell like alcohol. They're actually your Uncle Jeff. They're not happy people. They pretend to be happy. They used to work at the mill, but they got fired.
Drinking on a job. Yeah, drinking on a job. That's outstanding. Divorced your Aunt Anita. I foreclosed on the home. All right, I'm reaching in for another That's a True Statement. You can call us if you have one. 570-1949. Who said sushi is a bit? That's a true statement. Who said that? Guess I did. Sushi is a bit? Yes. What do you mean? Sushi is not a meal. People that like to go out for sushi, they like to go out for sushi because it sounds cool to say, hey, let's go get sushi. Same people who are scared of clowns. They think they're fancy. They think they're fancy. They don't really like it. You're a clown. You can take a turd and rub it in wasabi and soy sauce. Tastes like sushi.
I will go eat it. It's an appetizer. It's not a meal. You're trying to be fancy, and you're trying to be hip, and you're trying to be what you perceive as classy. So all of Japan is trying to be cool? Yes. Wow. They don't have the space for the resources that we have here, like cattle and corn and wheat. Yes, they do. Where do you think the Kobe beef comes from? What a tiny island. What you believe. It's a tiny island. It's not like Three Mile Island. It's tiny. It's like Coronado. With five billion people in it. Sushi's a bit. Okay. It's delicious. It's a bit. All right. It is a bit. You think you're fancy and you are not fancy. You're not cool because you go to sushi. I always try to look cool when I go with my kids to eat sushi. I'm sure you're trying to make your kids think that they're cool too. Hey, let's go get sushi. My kid eats sushi. Easy, Claire from the Breakfast Club. Bring in your sushi to lunch. I've just drawn from that's a true statement. And this one says, we all suffer from a mild form of mental illness. Who said that? I did. And that's a true statement. I believe, I have nothing to base this on, but I believe that we all, and by all,
I mean you. As you're driving, me, Wood, Sienna, Croft, L-O-B, especially Jay. What? Every human being suffers from a mild form of mental illness. We're all kooky in our own way. We all have our own thing that makes us kind of... I won't even fight you on that. I can't. Defend. I mean, it's absolutely true. My brother said it to me. It's not mine. But when he said it, I thought about it. I didn't want to just accept it. But I found that I couldn't reject it. So I'm cheating a little bit. Thank you, Mark. All right, here we go. Here's another one. This one says, more guys say that have cheated than have actually cheated. More guys say... Jay. That's got to be Jay. What does it say? It says more guys say that have cheated than have actually cheated. Supposed to say more guys say they have cheated than have actually cheated. That's you, L.O.B.? It's me. So what you're saying is that men fabricate cheating. Yes, absolutely. Wow. I will tell you that I believe not only are you incorrect, but it's the opposite. Nope. That men cheat far more.
than they ever admit. No, there's a type of guy that cheats, but a bunch of guys brag like, yeah, I've cheated. The kinds with penises. I've cheated. No, no, no. The kinds with testosterone. It's cool because exactly what you're saying, because you're not a guy unless you've cheated. Your guys will be like, oh, come on, bro. You never cheated on, never. That's a true story. That's a true statement, LLB. I got to agree with her. Come on. Do you believe, Woods, that guys pretend they've cheated? Absolutely. I think it goes both ways, but I really think that guys do that. Yeah, they'll be like, yeah, I did. Yeah, I didn't care about her. Hey, can I get in the dirtbag club? Yeah, I didn't care about her. I have never gotten in the, not only have I never tried to get in the dirtbag club, I've tried to, and I'm talking about old Mikey, I've tried to get out of the dirtbag club. Because you're guilty. Yes. When you're not guilty, you want to be like, well, I guess I'm not a dude unless I've cheated. Yes. Yeah. It's a true statement. Yes. Woods, have you ever known? A guy that has not cheated genuinely. No. Me either. How do you know? Do you guys have proof or do you have his word? I don't have proof. I have his word. You have his word. We have Casey Anthony's word, too. Casey Anthony's a chick. Women don't. Well, women cheat. There is no doubt about it. Women cheat. But we lie about it. We say we haven't. Yeah. That's a true statement, too. I think guys do, too. I've met guys and they say, I've never cheated.
Every guy I've ever met is like, I have cheated. Oh, that's saucy. That is so saucy. I cheated on it real good. I've always said to girls, I've never cheated. You don't want a girl to think you're a cheater. You say it to a girl you're trying to get with, but every guy friend I've ever had is like, yeah, I've cheated. You're not in the guy club if you haven't. That's spicy. Sienna, has Todd ever said to you that he's cheated? Yeah. How about you, Woods? Have you ever said to Jamie that you've cheated on her? Not on her. He never cheated on me. I cheated on you, Jamie. Girlfriends in the past. They cheated on her. He's admitted that, yeah. I don't know that I have. I did the bit that you did. Would do the breakup bit. The fadeaway. Well, not with Jamie. I would do the breakup bit. Hey, this isn't working out. And then go do your thing. Hi, babe. You ready? How are you? You didn't have to say that, you know. I know. I'm dead. Weird. No one is truly a good person. Who said that? I think Mikey said it. Yeah, it sounds like a Mikey. That does sound like a Mikey. I said it. And I believe it. A thousand percent. And by all and by no one, I mean me, you, everybody. Nobody is a good person.
I believe people are capable of doing good things, but that doesn't make them a good person. Just like when they do bad things doesn't make them a bad person. I've known good people. I know a couple of good people. I don't know any good person. You are sad men. You know people who on a spectrum, if you look at it like a spectrum, you know and what they have and what you've observed from them. is goodness. And trust me, in fact, maybe you've never even observed badness from them. You've never observed badness. And I can think of somebody specifically in my mind right now where I've never observed badness from them. Okay. However, what we don't know is what happens. First of all, I don't know tons of things about you guys. You guys reveal to me, and we all reveal what we are willing to reveal. But the deepest, darkest recesses of our heart, we don't reveal that. And we all have creep in us. All of us. Every one of us. We're not all perfect. Nobody's perfect. What's not perfect? A lot of people. Nobody. There's not one person that's perfect. Right.
The opposite of perfect is evil. Well, I agree. But I think that there are some. But if that's the spectrum, evil and perfect, there's good. Okay, even a bad person. Casey Anthony, bad person. Yes. Capable of good stuff. Yes. In fact, I'm sure that some of her friends would think, oh my gosh, she's such a good person. They wouldn't think. Her friends. No. Her friends. Her friends. probably thought she was a good person. No, they knew better. Well, they probably wouldn't hang out with her if they thought she was a bad person. They were drinking in the same type of person as her. I have social friends that I don't think are good people. I have friends that I know aren't good people. They're just buddies. And you have some friends that you think are good people. I think every person has an inner struggle. I've always thought that. Let's see. And we'll go to the phones. 570-194. Wait a minute. This is good. This is M1 Jessica from San Diego. Are you there, Jessica? Hey, guys. How are you? Good. How are you? Good. You guys, a couple nights ago, we were talking about cheating and trusting all that. And right now, I'm not really trusting my boyfriend too much. How come? He told me that he eats lunch every day at Panikin. He's a writer, so he goes there and has lunch, and then he stays there to write. What's Panikin? Coffee shop. Okay.
And so sometimes I'll talk to him while he's there over the phone. It's just a really quick conversation, you know, while he's at Panikin. And we'll talk for a few minutes and he says, OK, babe, I got to go. I need to get back to writing. And then he just hangs up. And not to sound completely and totally stalkerish, but I've gone there the last three days in a row and he's not there. And so right now I'm totally not there. Do you go there because you don't trust him? Or do you go there like why did you go the first time that you went there? Were you going there to check up on him? Not the first, the next few times. The first time it was just like, he usually calls a couple times a day and I only talked to him once and it was really brief. And I was like, well, just stop by, I'm out and about. And he wasn't there. And I was like, huh, hmm. And so I went the next day and he wasn't there. And I went the next day and he wasn't there. And he says that he was there? And he says that he was there, yeah. And he has lunch there every day. And he has, that's what he says. He says, because he's a writer. So he doesn't want to sit at home. So he goes to the coffee shop and he has lunch and writes every day. That's what he tells me. And now I'm not believing him at all. Well, have you asked him about it? No, I haven't confronted him that I've been there the last three days and he hasn't been there. But I asked him on all those three days, hey, were you panicking today? Did you go to your same spot? And he's like, yeah, I was there all day. Catching him all night. He's probably making love to one of the waitresses there.
If I had to guess. Well, Woods, he's not there. And he says he's there. That guy's a grown man. He can do whatever he wants. Hey, maybe he was there. Yeah, he can. Apparently he can lie. Maybe he was there. But she was there and he wasn't there. Maybe he wasn't there when she popped in and stalked him. Stalked him? When she went to stalk Panikin, maybe he had gone somewhere else. You never know. You never surprised a girlfriend before? No. You're right. I don't pop in. I don't like the pop-in. I don't appreciate the pop-in. You don't appreciate the pop-in? Hell no. And I don't pop in on people. Just to be nice? No, just because I'm not a psycho. I'm with you on the pop-in. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I'm not a psychopath. I'm not trying to catch somebody. If Todd walked in right now and was like, hey, babe. Todd's your husband. Todd's, you know, whatever. So when Jamie was your girlfriend, if she brought you lunch, that'd be psycho? Yes. What? Yes. I knew she was coming. That's... And if she just stopped by and surprised you with lunch, you wouldn't think that was sweet of her? What are you doing? What are you doing? Get that out of here. I don't want that sandwich. What are you doing? Is that a crazy sandwich? Yeah, what did you put in there? Mayo and crazy? Yeah, 100%. What? If she did it all the time, I would be like, okay, maybe give me some space. If she called me and was like, are you at work? And I was like, yep. And then she popped in with a Subway, I'd be like, what are you doing here? That's weird. You're crazy. What?
Why, Woods? Because it's weird. Okay, but walk me through. You're like checking up on what I told you. Wait, wait, wait. Remember, to me, this is ABC thinking. And ABC thinking is, it means that you go, instead of going A, B, C, you go A, C. So, something's in front of you, and you make a decision that totally hops B. Okay. And you go straight to C. So, something's in front of you. Lunch and a girlfriend. You decide. She's checking up on me. Yes. Maybe she's bringing you lunch. Yeah, maybe you call me and let me know, hey, babe, I'm coming to bring you lunch. Oh, my gosh. But then it wouldn't be a sweet surprise. So you never send anyone flowers because she didn't know they were coming. It's crazy. No, I would send them flowers because I'm not the flowers. Oh, my gosh. Okay. People like to be surprised. Maybe I send her a barbershop quartet to her office, too. I mean, I'm not there. I am. Let this be a lesson to you, ladies. Don't be psycho. Don't take lunch to your boyfriend unannounced or you're a psychopath. You're, in fact, insane. Okay. Jessica? Yes. What's his name? His name's Mike. I think you're making that up, but can we call him? I'm not going to give out everything. Can we call him? I'm going to put you... Please. Hang on. Hang on. Hang on. Did she cuss?
No. We can call him? Jay, get his number. Well, let's see if she'll... Should we have her on the line? Yeah. Let me ask her that. Can we keep you on the line? Is that cool if we keep you on the line, Jessica? Yeah. Okay, hang on. Alright, we'll do it next. You think you got something worth adding to the Mikey show? Thanks, Nostradamus. Sarah and her printer took a vow of silence. Why? Well, there was nothing to talk about since she switched to original HP Ink. She no longer had to yell things like, I'm out again, or ow, ow, foot, foot, after kicking the wall. You see, original HP Ink prints up to two times the pages than generic refills. So Sarah never had to kick the wall again, unless it deserved it. Original HP ink cartridges print up to two times the pages than refilled cartridges. Find them at a retailer near you. HP. Hit print. I'm Stacey Cohen, FM 94.9. Back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. Part of the problem with me is I like summertime. I just, I don't like going out and doing stuff. Lauren. I have ketchup packets in my drawer at home. So what? Woods. Mikey, I have a new ritual. What? I have to have a Dr. Pepper and a donut on the way to work every morning. Louisiana. I want to work out. I hate the gym, but I want to go. And Jay. I am a huge fan of meatloaf. On FM 94.9. Okay, so Jay got this guy on the line. We're talking to Jessica. Are you there, Jessica? Yep, I'm still here. Okay. We have your boyfriend on the line, but he doesn't know why we're calling, so we'll tell him. Okay. Is that cool? Yeah, totally. Okay. What's his name? I forgot. Mike. Mike? Yeah, Mike. Fake name. Is this Mike? Yeah. Hi. What's going on? Hi, Mike. This is Mike, too. It's Mikey.
From FM 94.9. How are you? I'm good. How are you doing? Good. We have your girlfriend on the line. Her name is Jessica. And we are calling because we wanted to clear something up. Is that cool? What would that be? Yeah. Oh. Sounds cool. Can you blame me? Jessica? Go ahead. Have you gotten any texts, Mike? Have people texted you and said what's going on? Or do you know? Or no? What you guys are talking about? Okay. Jessica? Yeah. Go ahead. Hey, Mike. Hey there. So you tell me or you say that you go to Panikin every day because you have lunch there and then you stay because you write. And I've gone there for three days in a row and you're not there. So what's that? Wait a minute. You've gone three days in a row. What do you mean? Is that his other one? I went the first time I went because I was going to surprise you because I was out and about. And I'm like, hey, he's at Panikin. I'll stop by. Say hi.
and you weren't there, and I was like, huh. And then I talked to you later that day, and you said you were there. So then I went back the next day, and you weren't there, and then I went back the next day, and you weren't there, and you said you were there. Okay, look, I just switched venues, all right? I'm going to the Mosey Cafe now because I like the burritos. I go to Panicking a lot, but I went there. Are you happy? I don't understand exactly where this is going. Well, because you lied. Why not just say one? When I asked you... I see I go to panic because I do go there. I mean, you take everything literally? Well, when I say, where do you... When I ask you, I was panicking today, and you're like, oh, it's fine, usual stuff, but you weren't there. Well, I was there at some other time. But not that day. I mean, they serve more than food there, so maybe I was there earlier. I didn't know I had to be there at the time you were going to, you know, sneak up on me.
Woods, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Woods, why are you pumping your fist? Because that's a true story. No, I specifically didn't want to tell her because she's always asking crazy questions. Weird. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Hey, wait, wait, wait. Stop, stop. And I'm not, listen, I don't know who's, what's what. I'm just going to ask. Is, how was panicking today a crazy question? Three times. No, no, no, no. That's not the answer. The question was, is asking you how was panicking today a crazy question? No, that in and of itself is not. See, now that's where I'm confused because you said she's always asking crazy questions. Now, if that's not a crazy question and then you answered it was great, but you weren't actually there, what am I missing?
I wasn't there to understand where she's going with this question. Yes, you do. Yeah, you do. You know exactly where she's going with the question. And Jessica, well, Jessica, he does have a point. Maybe he was there when you weren't there or, you know, like you were there at different times. Maybe the Wi-Fi sucked and I had to go to Moses. I mean, what's the big deal? Well, do you go there at the same time every day? Is that the bit? I mean, I go to eat or grab a coffee or, you know, whatever. You know, it's not always the same exact time. Have you ever said, yes, I was at Panikin, or, oh, Panikin was good on a day that maybe you weren't there? Because she has to, I mean, I can't see you going to two coffee shops in one day. That seems weird.
It does seem weird. No, not if you're a rider and you're riding and you're coffee hopping. Mosey has more food. Yeah, they have food. You're riding at one place and you're like, the chicks aren't even hot in here anymore. I'm going to go see what the chicks look like over at Mosey's. I'm going to mosey on over to Mosey's. I don't have any reason why I wouldn't say I was there if I wasn't there. I just don't get where this is going. Yeah, you didn't know you needed to fill out a time card every time you went somewhere and get approval from your missus. Or actually, from your girlfriend. All right. Once is kind of... Why don't you ask me the deeper question? I don't understand. Right. Come on with the question. Okay, wait. One day. Okay. Next day. Oh, weird. Third day. Still not there. Listen, that's unusual to me. That sounds like suspicious. He sees me after work. Why would you need to go during the day? Like, you go out of your way to check and see if I'm at a place? I mean, why don't you put a GPS tracking device on me? Oh, wow. That was really defensive. Don't give her any ideas, pal. I just think it's a little weird. Like, it almost seems like it's coming to that. I have two sides to this. One is she went three days in a row. She didn't ask him about it. We're asking him about it now. That's weird. Yeah. Number two, it's weird that she asks and he takes the dramatic step of...
Why don't you put a GPS device on me? Maybe I'm a little irritated because we're making a public case out of it on the radio. I see your point. Chalk one up. I can also say this to that. If there was something going on, that would be a clever response. If something was going on. I'm not saying anything is going on. I'm just saying if it was going on. it would be a very clever response. I'm not the bad guy. You're the weirdo. I like that you're putting that into her head now. Thanks. It's a man move. It's a thing that men do. Yeah, I've done it. We turn the table like you're crazy. Hey, listen. He may not be doing anything. I'm just saying. Do you know him to be there at the same time, or is he right, Jessica? He's not always there at the same time. I mean, I guess he could be there at different times, but when he says, I mean,
I'm going to Panikin for lunch and then going to stick around and write. You know, lunch is usually 11, between 11 and 1 maybe. And it is kind of weird that you'd have lunch in one place and then just pick up and go somewhere else. Sometimes lunch is too. I mean, if I'm inspired and I'm going to start writing, I mean, it might be later. Easy, Jason Priestley. Easy, Hemingway. I can't believe this is... No. It's okay. It's all right. Run for the hills. So tomorrow, Jessica, will you be checking out Mosey Cafe? That's the new bit. Mike, will you be filing a daily plan with your girlfriend as to where you'll be between which times? I'll be punching in my time card at Mosey Cafe at 1130. How's that? Oh, wow. He's pissed. All right, fine. I'll ask. Jessica, do you think he's up to... Funny business? Sure, because he's awfully angry and defensive. You know, it's one thing to defend your case, but it's another thing to be a complete and total jerk about it. Can I ask you a question because we're on the radio? Yeah, go ahead. Jessica, not you, Mike. Jessica, what do you look like? What do I look like? Yes, ma'am. I'm just a short, petite Italian girl. Cute. Okay.
How tall is she, Mike? Gosh, 5'5", 5'6". Short Italian girl. Tan skin. Nice body. Creep. Where is this going? I'm asking questions. That's all. Yeah, she's attractive. Jessica, what does Mike look like? Dead man. He's tall. He's probably 6 feet. Brownish hair. I'm in good shape. Good looking guy. About how old? A 30. Mike was there yesterday at 2 o'clock. Right, Mike? What were you wearing? Just asking. Nothing to be afraid of. Jeans and a black t-shirt. Maybe somebody saw him at Mosey. He'd call us. I know the people at work there. L.O.B. has that look on her face right now. Hey, everybody calm down. Calm down. Calm down. Calm down. That's so weird. We run it for the hills. That's so weird.
It's weird that she has to call a radio station. Isn't it? Isn't it? In fact, it's the definition of weird. You look it up and this is there. I wish that we could have a heart monitor on each line. That's what I'm saying. It would be a little excessive to be calling Mosey, I believe. All right. Thank you. How about just trust each other? So is that your new bit then? Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait. So what were you, let me ask you this. Let me ask you this, Mike. You go into Mosey and you write. Correct? But you said you need Wi-Fi. You need Wi-Fi to write? Well, I go online. Okay. M1 Bill from Oceanside. Are you there? Yeah, I'm here. The Mosey Cafe doesn't have Wi-Fi. So if you left the panic in for the Wi-Fi to go to Mosey, that'd be the wrong location because they don't have it. I knew that. Oh, my God. Oh, no. Shady. Thanks for the call, Bill. Sorry, buddy. Can I go? I want to go. What about man code?
Hey, what about man code? Yeah, you clown. I even had the man code. You freaking monsters. You're inspiring a nation of rats. You are monsters. It's called changing from M1 Nation to Rat Nation. That is awful. Rat Nation. Really? Yeah, stoolie. This girl is being pinned as crazy when she's not. She's being pinned as crazy. Really? Oh, I went to Mosey because they got a good internet connection. There's no wireless at Mosey. He never said that. Yes, he did. No, he didn't. He said, I. I left because the internet connection sucked. That's why he left. He didn't say I went there to use Wi-Fi at Mosey's. He said I left because the internet connection sucked. Mike, maybe that's the deal. Is that the deal, Mike? Yeah. What did he say? Why is there going to be something behind it? I don't get this. Jessica? It's the deal now because he got caught. Let's get to the root of the issue then, Jessica. What is your real issue? Not where I go to eat. That Mosey doesn't have Wi-Fi? I left panicking because they don't have Wi-Fi? No, it's what he said. Okay, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry. So a guy can't change his mind. A guy can't just say, hey, I want to go here because... Apparently not. Apparently not. I guess not. If you read between the lines, you say the Wi-Fi sucks, and I went to Mosey's instead, you're going there for the Wi-Fi. Because if the Wi-Fi sucked and you didn't need Internet anyway, why wouldn't you just stay? Because Mosey doesn't have Internet, so why wouldn't you just stay where you are?
Maybe I just wanted to change location. Maybe I wasn't getting anything out of my writing, sitting and panicking. Maybe I wanted to go to Mosey's. Three days in a row. M1, Adam from Mission Valley, are you there? Yeah, I am here. Go ahead. Yeah, I'm listening along, and my kid's actually listening to me. She's crying because you guys are beating up on this guy's event. Exactly. I don't think it's that weird if he's at one place, and he's not getting inspiration there, and he wants to go somewhere else. That's not what he said. Shit, I've done the same thing before, too, so I don't think it's that weird. Sounds like, you know, maybe a little bit defensive there, but I don't think that's strange. I think it's more strange that the girlfriend's stalking him on her lunch break. Adam, you don't think it's strange that he wanted to get a better Wi-Fi connection? Your Honor, that's not what he said. Your Honor, he never uttered the words, I left because I wanted a better Wi-Fi connection. He said, I left. Because the Wi-Fi connection sucked. That's it. Oh, well then where did you go? Home? No, I went to another cafe. I think he said maybe I left because the Wi-Fi connection was bad. I think he said I'm not sure if I left because the Wi-Fi was bad. Maybe he said...
You guys. Maybe he should check his notes because he has to write it down because he's going to be on. Oh, so that's the new thing. Not only does he have to tell her where he's going, he has to tell her why he's leaving if he decides to change his mind. Let me check. Dear Diary. Why do you have it out for me, man? Hey, dude, I don't have it out for you. You know me, man. I'm leaving because the Wi-Fi connection didn't get it. And I'm going to Mosey. Maybe I'm leaving. Even though Mosey doesn't have Wi-Fi. I wanted a burrito. I would just like to say my boyfriend, Matt Commerce, would probably withhold the same information from me because I would then, if I knew that Mosey was in the mix, I'd be like, what'd you get there? What do they have? Not because I'm trying to write a report, because I ask a thousand questions. How about this, L.O.B.? How about if your boyfriend, Matt Commerce, said, you know, I left this place because they didn't have any electricity. So I decided to go to an outhouse. I was in an outhouse three days in a row. And the reason I left was because there was no electricity where I was. So I went to an outhouse where there's no electricity. It's a little odd to me. Maybe he left Panikin, went to Mosey, thinking he'd get a better Wi-Fi. Didn't find the Wi-Fi, but found a delicious burrito. To your defense, I like burritos. Sienna? It's true.
What's going on? What do you think is going on? I believe him. I do. I don't want to believe him, but I do. Because I know, like Lauren said, I'm the same way. So, babe, what did you have for lunch today? Oh, my gosh, was it good? I haven't had that from there. I mean, girls just want to know details. They're Riddlers. We can be annoying at times, I'm aware. Well, here's the deal. I was having, you know, I'm a vegetarian, and I was eating some carrots at this place. But I left and went to McDonald's. Yeah, they have salad at McDonald's. Parfait. Yeah, parfait. Frozen lemonade. Milkshake. Milkshake. You know that. Apple pie. Apple pie. Yeah. M1 Justin from San Diego. Justin, you cut out right when you said my name. Is that me? Yeah, that's you, dude. You're on the air. Sorry, brother. Sorry, brother. Dude, this guy is such a giant D-bag. This guy and every dude in San Diego like this guy.
Quit pinning your BS on your girls and making them second-guess themselves. Women's intuition is money, dude. Yeah. Oh, my God. I love you. You know how many girls just fell in love with you right now? I have never heard those words. Women's intuition is money from a man. Where are your testicles, dude? Did you leave them at home? How dare you? Turn off Jay's mic. You can't. I can't. If you're a guy and you have a girlfriend and you don't want to be with her, Break up, dude. Amen. That's not what he said. That's not what he said. He didn't marry her. He's just dating her. Justin. Justin. Justin. Tell your girl you want to be single and cut her loose, dude. Yes. But don't do this nonsense where you cost baggage for some chick to go on and... Justin's 16. This guy's badass. He's 16. Justin's badass. However, Justin, how old are you, Justin? I'm 34. You're rad! I love you! I love you! Love this guy. Love this guy. That's a public service announcement. That's not necessarily directed at Mike. I'm all about guy code, but... Are you? His girlfriend's in the car. No, I am. Yeah, your girlfriend's sitting next to you. I don't have shady... No, she's not. I'm in my work truck. I don't have shady guy friends. I got guy codes for good guys. You're a good dude! I like you! I like you!
I like you. I like you. I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it. This guy is a badass. Justin, do you have friends that are guys? I have tons of friends that are guys. Then you have shady guy friends. Period. What is that? Really? No. Really? Not all guys are shady. Good guys exist and they're named Justin. Justin, you are, hang on the line. I'm going to force Jay to give you a prize. I'm not giving you a prize. He's coming in studio. He gets a shiny brown. Justin. No, he gets tickets. Negative. Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I have an idea. I'll go arm wrestle Jay for it. I'll arm wrestle you, brother. Hey, wait, wait, wait. Justin, Justin, Justin. You don't want that, my friend. Hang on. Hang on. Justin, Justin, let me ask you a question, Justin. Do you have a girlfriend? Are you single? What's his name? Boyfriend? Whatever. Shut up. Don't even. Justin, are you single or do you have a girlfriend? I just started dating a girl. I've been dating her for about five weeks. Okay. She has to be listening right now. Because I know this girl named Jessica. that might be available at some point. That sounds... I wish her all the best, but I think I got a good thing going. You're a good dude. You're a good dude. Don't tell her where you go to lunch or she'll show up. Absolutely. Hey, also, Justin, don't lie to her about a wireless that doesn't exist. He didn't. Hey, well, let me ask. I want to say something to Mike real quick. Dude, if I see Panikin or Moses, I might accidentally spill my coffee on me.
Justin for president. I love this dude. I love this dude. That's a badass. That's a man. That's a man. Love it. Thank you, Justin. Hey, Mike. Let me ask you. Was the internet access called the Zanny internet wireless? Yeah, that doesn't exist. The wireless that doesn't exist. Yeah, we're done. Sorry, Mike. Sorry. Yes, we're done. I might believe you, though. I do, but Justin was just too rad. Jessica, I'm sorry, and I want you to go on our Facebook and talk to us and tell us how it's going. That went well, Jessica. Hey, you know what? In my mind, it actually did. See what stalking your boyfriend can do? Bring the truth out. The truth as you see it. Okay. Thank you, Jessica. All right. Thanks, guys. We love you. I'm embarrassed to be a man today. How dare you? I am embarrassed. You've been revealed. God, I'm disgusted.

I don't have a best friend. I don't trust you. I've trusted you. Lauren. Am I what? Like feminine and girly. Eh, not really. I guess I can when I want to be. Woods. Nobody is more passionate about donuts than me. Sienna. I'm a ring person. I love gems. And Jay. If you need that person, I'm there to do it for you. On FM 94.9. The Mikey Show, where it is live in July. Live in July is every single day that we broadcast in the month of July. I'm excited. We will have a live studio audience in the 9 o'clock hour because we are giving back to M1s. I want you to be able to enjoy the Mikey Show in full. It's summertime. Gorgeous day today, man. Take your shirts off. Oh, wow. It's going to be 79 and sunny today. We discuss Justin. Justin. Justin. Justin. Clown. The entire break. Clown. She's a nice guy. Yeah, I noticed on our Facebook page, all the women.
No. It wasn't just women, dude. There was plenty of guys. There was plenty of dudes. I said all of the women were for Justin and three dudes were for Justin. Three. Yeah. No, there was more than three. Three. There was more than three. There was three. You're jealous of Justin. Be jealous of Justin and too ashamed to agree with him. Why is Justin in your bullseye? He just broke guy code, number one. Oh, please. Number two, he was lying. Because he's trying to gain favor with women. Number three, he is, in fact, a cheater himself. Oh, my God. I'm going to throw something at you in a minute. Holy cow. Agree, Jay? Agree. He's trying to throw the scent off his trail. You guys agree? Men? Because it was so necessary for him to call in. You guys are unbelievable. I'm upset with you right now. Mikey sides with the women, just FYI. Because there's only one Justin in San Diego. I'm sure he just really... I'm siding with... Justin, who should change his name to Justice, since that's what he is. Justin! Justin, I'm just playing. I don't think you're a cheater. I do think you broke major Geico. Whatever. I'm embarrassed to be a man. I really am. You are? I always want my girlfriend to go check up on me three different websites. That's not what he said. Especially when I'm cheating on her. And then, you know, why not just have a conversation with me and say, hey, why weren't you there? Yeah, after the first time. Yeah, psycho. Let me tell you something that makes me furious is when a girl catches me in a lie. Hey, Sybil!
Hey, Sybil. Oh, really? She's Sybil? Yeah, Sybil. Maybe ask me about it after the first time. Yeah. And go, oh, you know what, babe? I went down. I sat on the beach and decided to ride. This isn't about her. Because I'm a grown man. This is about Justin. I'm a grown man. This isn't about Justin. Justin's defending her. And it's not about you. It's about Justin. It's about that guy Mike, too. About that guy Mike. Yeah, Mike. Her boyfriend. Yeah, the Mike that just wanted to go right and didn't want to be nagged with questions. Not her husband. Yeah, her boyfriend. Let me ask you guys. Can I ask you guys? I'll ask you and Jay. How do you guys reconcile? I left because there was no internet. Easily. Easily. I left. Okay. Ready? Yeah. I'm on CNN SI and I'm looking at sports. Right. Right. And the freaking thing keeps cutting in and out. Yeah. And it's cutting. I'm like, you know what? Screw this. I'm out of here. I'm done. I'm going to grab my laptop and I'm going to go down to Mosey's. Oh, dude. Mosey's doesn't have Wi-Fi. You know what? Let me get a burrito. That looks pretty good. And I'm going to sit there, and I'm going to go, you know what? The inspiration just struck me. He's actually right. The inspiration just struck me. I'm going to start writing. He's actually right. You don't need Wi-Fi to write to do his job. He said the same thing. He liked the burritos. He walked me through it, though. Okay. Woods is right. Fed up. Just, ah, dude. Yeah. He was angry, too, though. I mean, he was ambushed. Why is she calling a radio station to talk about her problems? Wow. There's bigger issues. Thank God she did. I mean, thank God she did.
There are bigger issues at hand. Everything you're saying, okay, I agree with. It doesn't change the fact that Justin is a king. I even, yeah. Justin's a BS artist. Yeah, we're on Mike's side. He's a BS artist. Justin is not a BS artist. He's gaining favor with these two broads and all the other broads out in M1 Nation. Justin! Hey, Justin's coming back. Justin! Justin! Justin! I think I stirred him up. Please come to the studio, Justin. What's up, Justin? Hey, guys, how are you? Good. Hey, I'm at work. I need to get out of that customer presence. You get a raise, my friend. Talk to your boss. Yeah, no, I'm not trying to gain anything, brother. I'm not trying to gain favor with any girls. I got a girl. Well, you're trying to gain favor with her, which is why sometimes I buy my girlfriend flowers. Instead of telling her that she's always right. How dare you? And then her intuition is money. Hey, could it be that Justin just...
Telling the truth? Yeah. Could it be that he's trying to gain favor with his girlfriend? No. He's giving a public service announcement. That's not a possibility. My girlfriend doesn't know I'm calling. Okay. She's in the process of moving down. Oh. No, man. I get tired of all these good dudes. Causing drama for girls. What about that girl that stalked him? Justin, let me ask him a question. Let me ask him a real question from man to man, Justin. Is it not possible that the guy was fed up with where he was at and went to another place and then got upset because his girlfriend, who's supposed to love him and trust him, not only did she check up on him three times without saying anything, If you do it more than once, you're trying to catch somebody instead of asking them. You're trying then at that point to catch somebody. It doesn't sound like she handled it right either, definitely. But at the same time, you can't really put too much fault on her because she's in that confused.
place right now. Whatever. We call it crazy time. We're in the land that I come from. There are crazy girls. I'll concede that. But she's not one of them. She just called 94.9 to have us call her boyfriend. That doesn't make her crazy, dude. Stop attacking Justin! I'm not attacking Justin. You're attacking Jessica. She stalked him. And guess what? Caught him in a freaking lie. No, she didn't. I did not catch him in a lie. Can I ask Justin a question? Justin, do you have sisters? I do. I have a younger sister. That's why he's protective. I love you. You're a good dude, Justin. You very well may be a good dude, but you guys are all projecting a lot onto Mike. Yep. What you think. No, I'm not. It's not me. The guy didn't lie. Mike on the phone. Not you, Mike. Yeah, Mike on the phone. Mike's making it too easy. Listen to the guy talk. He's a writer, right? He spends a lot of time on the internet and on his computer. How long does it take to figure out? What is it? Mojis? If they don't have internet. Right. It takes one second. You hit the little Wi-Fi icon and there's nothing there. The guy was there. He was hungry. Yep. I mean, sue the guy. Eat real good. So should he have called? Three days, bro. Three days, dude? Three days without mentioning it to him, dude? Three days in a row. I know. Three days in a row she went there and didn't mention it to him. That's weird. It's her fault that he's a cheater. I don't think he's a cheater. He's projecting. He's not a cheater.
You ever cheated on Justin? He's not a cheater. He's a liar, though. He's at the very least wayward and wants out of the room. He's just not right. That's a lot of assumptions, dude. Justin? Just be single. That's a lot of assumptions. I agree with that. He should be single. Amen. Justin, come in and hang out in the studio anytime you want. Please. Love you, bro. I'm working, man. I'll see if I can work it out. All right, dude. Thanks. Let's do... You may think with songs you're super. You recognize them right away. Tom Tom tunes, they're never quite the same. The lyrics are read by the Tom Tom girl. There's our robotic Tom Tom girl. The best. Tom Tom girl, how are ya? I am doing adequately, Mikey. Have you been following the Casey Anthony trial? I have, and what reminds me a little bit of Jose Baez. Jose. It's actually Jose Baez. I'm not programmed for Spanish, Mikey. That's true. That's true. You're not. Update, by the way, right, Sienna? Yes. Brace yourself. We now know when Casey Anthony will be out of jail. 2012. July. July 13th.
2011. Oh, my. Today's July 7th. Six days. Six days she will be on the streets. Oh, wow. Oh, wow. Makes me sick. How about that? All right, let's play some Tom Tom tunes. This is M1 Mike from San Diego. Are you there, Mike? Yeah, it's that Mike, sir. There you go. You have 20 seconds to listen to the following lyrics and tell us either title or artist to win what, Jay? A four-pack of tickets to the Wave Water Park. There you go. Here we go, starting now. A little ditty about Jack and Deanne. Two American kids growing up in the heartland. Jackie going to be a football star. Deanne debutante in back of seat Jackie's car. Sucking on chili dog outside the taste freeze. Deanne sitting on. M1 Mike, title or artist for the win? Maybe the easiest. No. Tom, Tom tune. Life goes on. Why did I miss it? You're good. Yeah. That's the right song, but you've got to give me the name of the song or who sings it. Oh, John Cougar, Bellingham. You got it, buddy. Little Dick. Nice. About Jack and Diane. Two American kids growing up in the heartland. Jacket gonna be.
Music is different than movies because music plays better to me later. Like, I wasn't that into that song back in the day. Now when I hear it, now I'm more into it than I was when it came out. Let's see. M1 Justman is on the line from Valley Center. Are you there? Yeah, it's Justman. Justan. Justman, like J-E-S-M-A-N. Justman. Just Man. This isn't Justin, Justin, Justin. No, no. It isn't Justin, Justin, Justin. All right. Are you ready to do this? Yeah. Okay. You got 20 seconds to give me title or artist starting now.
Hey, Jude, do not make it bad. Take a sad song and make it better. Remember to let her into your heart and you can start to make it better. Hey, Jude, do not be afraid. You were made to go out and get her. All right, all right, all right. Who is it? I was like, that's enough. Hey, Jude. That's correct. Hey, Jude. Easy, Casey Kasem. Easy, Casey Kasem. Take a sad song and make it better. That was very well done. Remember to let her into your heart. You can start to make it better. Up next, M1 Dive Bomb from Bay Park. You ready to do it? Yeah, I'm ready. All right, you got 20 seconds starting now. Busted flat in Baton Rouge waiting for a train. And I was feeling nearly as faded as my jeans.
Bobby's Thumb Day DA sold down before it rained. It rode us all the way to New Orleans. I pulled my harpoon out of my dirty red bandana. I was playing soft. M1 Dive Bomb, can you give me title or artist for the win? It was tough. Sorry. Janis Joplin. That was tough. That was tough. I've never heard this before. Bobby McGee? Wow. That's so good. Me and Bobby McGee. She died on a ham sandwich. No, that was Mama Cass. What a waste of a ham sandwich. How? That's our Jason. Mike, the Dennis Leary bit about Mama Cass was he would do...
So great. Jay's favorite joke. Yeah, it is. We have Anya setting up, and she's going to be performing with her full band at the Casbah tonight. $15. Now, Anya Marina used to be a DJ here at FM 94.9 and is now a... full-fledged recording artist, and she's done a lot of stuff, man. She's been on a couple of TV shows. Her music's been on Grey's Anatomy. Her music's been on How I Met Your Mother, on CBS, The Real World, all kinds of different stuff. And so we're going to have her in here, and she's going to be performing. So it's going to be really cool. So hang on. She'll be in here in just a minute. She performed actually at our Christmas. What was our thing called? Our anniversary bash? The anniversary bash. And she's good, man. She's really, really good. And she'll be performing in here in just a little bit. Let's see. What is happening in the... Oh, Aaron Carter. We talked about this the other day. There was a thing out there that Michael Jackson may have given Aaron Carter, who is... Whose little brother? Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys. Is that the guy that was married to Jessica Simpson?
No, that's Nick Lachey. I get him confused. He's from 98 Degrees, Nick Lachey. Oh, boy. 98 Degrees. Yeah. I bet Justin's a big fan of 98 Degrees. Would you stop being so jealous of Justin? I guarantee you. I guarantee you. He has a 98 Degrees t-shirt on him right now. He likes real music. Well, here is Aaron Carter responding to the fact that... What's the deal? Did Michael Jackson give you cocaine or not? Australia's OK Magazine recently quoted him as saying the king of pop gave him wine and cocaine. There was wine at Neverland, so I had wine, you know. But Michael never, ever gave me cocaine. To say that about me, that I said Michael Jackson gave me cocaine, that is absolutely absurd. And that makes me very angry. I think that's wrong, man. I gave him, I gave him weed? I gave him a bottle of Trader Joe's $2 wine. Two Buck Chuck. Two Buck Chuck. I would never give him cocaine. You gave me Oxycontin. Oxycontin I did. Quaaludes. Yeah, you're the only person that still had Quaaludes from the 70s. That's right. In a hermetically sealed bag. That's right. Got them from Jay. That's right.
Is that true? Jay was the first person to make quaaludes. It was actually an accident. He was trying to make a barbiturate for injured Civil War soldiers. That is true. And it turned out to be quaaludes. He stumbled upon a lot of psychedelic drugs. One time, Jay was trying to make a pizza. And he went out into the forest because that's where he lived. And he picked some mushrooms. And they made them high. And he was like, oh, check it out. I found mushrooms. I invented mushrooms. Then there was this other time he invented weed. He was just walking around out in the wilderness. And there was some pot growing. And he picked it. And then he was like, oh, let me see.
Maybe I can smoke this. Because back then, Jay tried to smoke everything. That is true. Back then? And then this other time when he was in Nepal, he... No. Don't. You have a sneeze? Michael. Let it out. Michael, don't. Bless you. Bless you. It's okay. Let it out. No. Don't do it. You got it. You SOB. It's quite a sneeze, MJ. That's how I sneeze. I know, it's nice. It seems a little dramatic. No. It's fitting. Slightly. That is how I do it. How come you're laying in a coffin with your arms crossed over your chest? Woods. I'm not. Woods. Woods. Anyway, Jay was in Nepal and he found these beautiful flowers and he thought, I wonder if I soaked these in gasoline and alcohol if I could turn it into heroin. And he did. And he rode out of there on his horse.
And thus it became known as horse. There you go. That's a nursery rhyme I used to tell their children. Really? Blanket and Paris? I used to tell my son Blanket and my daughter Paris. I would tell them all about Uncle Jay's adventures in Nepal. All the children of the world, really. Right. That you had in your bed. I didn't have them in my bed, you creep. Didn't you? No. Wouldn't you have if you could have had all the children in the world? Sleeping bag. The world's biggest sleeping bag. Is that the name of another one of your kids? That's right. My third child was sleeping bag. What about Prince? Oh, I've always forgot about Prince. He was your first born. I forget him everywhere. One time the Caribbean. Don't. Don't do it. It's USOB. Don't do it. It's Dusty. No, it's not. It's Dusty. Don't do it. No, do not. That was a big one. That's the best name. Jake Gyllenhaal or is it Gyllenhaal? Gyllenhaal. Gyllenhaal. Jake Gyllenhaal is going to be on Man vs. Wild. I wonder if it's a good career move to have the real Jake Gyllenhaal go out into the wilderness with another guy.
You mean leave feature films and go do a cable TV show? Yeah. Re-enact Brokeback? That's what I was thinking. Never mind. We're going to pick up Hollywood actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Star of movies like Jarhead and Brokeback Mountain. You know, the movie about the gay carboys. He keeps in shape by hitting the gym, running, cycling, and is acclaimed as the fittest guy in Hollywood. If you're wondering if we're going to sleep in the same tent, The answer is yes, but only because it's cold and we need body warmth. There will be no funny business, nor will we at any point say, I wish I knew how to quit you. Now he wants to see how he stacks up in the wild. I'd say he stacks up pretty well. Wink, wink. Wink, wink. He did a grueling US Marine style boot camp. So what's he done for this? I've done nothing to prove.
prepare for this situation, so I feel like that's somewhat appropriate. Every time I've seen the show, I've just thought, oh, what would it be like to be there with him? That's why I'm here. I'm looking forward to everything. I'm up for it. I'm up for anything. Woods, you've never seen Man vs. Wild? Oh, yeah. I love it. Did you ever see when Will Ferrell went with him? No. One of the most hysterical things I've ever seen. I gotta see it. Dude, it's one of the most hysterical things ever. Is he doing bits the whole time? hysterical bits. But they really went out into the ice and the snow and stuff. It was great. He's like, when do I get to drink my own pee? Here's more of Jake Gyllenhaal. A mountain man once told me, let fear be your guide. It must be working for Jake. I just hope he's not going to burn himself out. Just shake the blood back into your arms whenever you need to. Wow. Is Brokeback Mountain again? Yeah, what are they doing? You guys are creeps. You creepy creepers. Wow. That's so far down. Oh, wow. Does that look quite hot? It's a... You're a creep. I've never seen Brokeback, but I feel like now I don't need to. I liked it. Pretty much got the same sound effect.
It's so weird. Brokeback Mountain take place at a swimming pool, Jay? A spring factory. When we come back, Anya Marina will play live. Get ready. This is the Mikey Show. The best. That's right. It's the best. You think you got something worth adding? Are you going to be careful here with what you say? Call Mikey now. 570-1949. What is it? The Vatican? Or text them. at 949mikey at gmail.com. I'm going to turn on your microphone there, Anya, because I'm going to talk to you and ask you a bunch of questions because I was going through this thing. I was going through your bio, and I'm like, holy Toledo, you have done some pretty cool stuff. You've been on, first of all, she was a DJ here. She's a DJ at FM 94.9, but she was also, this I didn't know.
You initially moved to Los Angeles because you were going to be an actress, right? That is true. And then she goes there and goes to school at the British American Drama Academy taught by none other than Richard Dreyfuss. That is true. That's cool. That's really cool. He was incredible. Yeah. He's like 5'3". Yeah. And told me one of the coolest things I ever learned in my life, which was... And anyone listening can use this in their life, so it's free. Yeah. You're welcome. On the house. He said, somebody once told me, you're never as good as you thought you were, and you're never as bad as you thought you were. I like it. It's a true story. I think about that after every show. I like it. Your performance was never as great as you thought. Band members, musicians are always guilty of this. We rocked. It was insane. We melted faces. No, you didn't. You probably didn't. And it's the same deal, too, when you leave the stage and you think it was terrible. It wasn't that bad. Yeah, most of us are terribly insecure and think, you know, you're up at 3 in the morning smiting your forehead like, why did I say that? Whether it's, like, on the air or, you know, on stage. I've had those moments many, many times. And it's never that bad. It's over. Especially in radio. That's the great thing about radio, right?
It's out in the air, and then it's gone. Don't you stress out sometimes? People are probably harping on that one thing I said. Yeah, I did it this morning. Did you? About what, the panicking guy? No, the panicking guy was fun. That was so cool. I didn't get to hear the end of that, so you'll have to fill me in there. He said that he went to a place that doesn't have Wi-Fi because he needed Wi-Fi. That's not what he said. Yes, it is. He said he left the place that he was. He left Panikin because the Wi-Fi was cutting out. So he went to Mosey Cafe. Yeah, he was frustrated. Where there's no Wi-Fi. I hope you're listening to Panikin about that Wi-Fi connection. Can we get it working? Yeah, get that fixed. You just ruined a relationship, Panikin. I love Panikin. I do, too. Never heard of them before this morning. They're delicious. They're pastries. I had to ask Sienna who Panikin' was. They have a drink called the Keith Richards. Actually, my first song I ever wrote, not to bring it back to me, but my first song I ever wrote was... Hey, before you play, can I get you... I'm going to get you over on this mic right here. Yeah, totally. Because I'll hear you better. I want to hear you better. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then we'll have you play. Is that cool? Yeah, but I...
I just wanted to remind you of the first song I ever wrote had the line, what's with the staff at Panikin? Because it was the first song I ever wrote, and I was living in PB, and I remember going to Panikin, and they just dissed me every time. I love it now. I'd like to go on record as saying that I love the Panikin, but I remember there was one particular barista. I think that he was vegan, so he was probably protein-deprived. Enough said. Now, vegan is the guys with the pointy ears from Star Trek, right? Yes. That's a vegan. Correct. Oh, that's Vulcan. Okay, sorry. My bad. Vegans don't eat anything, actually. They just drink water. Right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Vegans just drink water. They don't eat anything in fact. There's no nutrition. That's in fact not true. That's a true statement. This guy just ate three donuts out there. Me. Yes. Thank you. That is a true statement. I can't get away from anything. That is a true statement. I just want the listener to know that I just moved to the DJ seat and now I'm looking back at my band where I was standing and I'm just going to wave goodbye to them. They're filming you on their phones. I'm coming back to radio. I've never really...
This is so fun and comfortable sitting in the DJ seat. Isn't it fun? Yeah. You're back. There's more compression on my voice too. Isn't it cool? Yeah. So when did you work here at FM 94.9? I think I worked here up until 08. Really? Yeah. And I was here at its inception. So for like six years almost. You know what I can tell about you right away? You're very talented. And I can tell that right away. And it's the same reason that I liked Woods. And wanted Woods on this program. And Woods was not a DJ. And it's the same reason that I wanted him. I can tell instantly with you. You don't have the ability to be anybody but yourself. I can tell that instantly. Which is why you were probably good in radio. You're not going to do schtick. I can tell that instantly. So I would have hired you too. Good job, Garrett. Thank you. Good work. Good work. I've tried for many years to be other people, and it just never has worked out for me. I did. I did. For years, I tried to be Howard Stern. So did I. That was my first thing in college radio. I was like...
22 years old or something. I was trying to do that. But, you know, you have to do what you do to figure out who you are, right? Yeah. Well, I mean, I had to do that to realize, well, that doesn't sound very good. Right. And the truth is that I am an insecure, you know, chubby Mexican. And that was... And I had to... Hard to hide. I want to say that. I wish I could say that. Yeah. I'm an insecure, chubby Mexican. You can. You just did. You just did. I did. Yeah. I think you're very attractive. Oh, wow. Oh, man. Oh, wow. Gosh darn it. I'll stop now. You don't have to lie to him. Wow. Oh, boy, Jay. Oh, that hurt a little bit. By a little bit, I mean a lot. I like that we both have the Howard Stern thing in common. Yeah. Yeah, I did. I tried to do that for a long time and then realized, well, you're not Howard Stern because he's 6'6 and you're 5'6. That's also true. It's very different. LLB reminds me of that. So appreciate that. Fact checker over here. My wife once found Richard Dreyfuss's wife's wallet. Really? True story. Strange. Yep. She was walking and it was in the street. And I believe she's like Russian or something. And my wife found it and she returned it. And she says that she didn't want to leave it on the, you know, leave it by itself.
The truth is, though, she wanted to meet Richard Dreyfuss. Naturally. Yes. And so she went back and he was in a bathrobe and looking through the car for the wallet. And she said, excuse me. And he said, yes. And she said, I found this wallet. And he went, you're an angel. This morning it was as if two. pirates were fighting one another. And then you came along like an angel and you brought this back. And she was so delighted that he called her an angel. Anya Marina is at the Casbah tonight. It's 15 bucks. Now, should I say good luck getting in there because it's already sold out? Or can you still get in there? I think you can still get in. So go for it. And everyone come out tonight. We're excited to play. Casbahmusic.com if you want to go there and get tickets. And she's going to be performing with her band here in just a second. Okay, so you're here in 08, okay? You're at FM 94.9 as a DJ. What shift? I did middays, right? You did middays. Yeah, first I started doing nights, and then I got moved to middays. It was a...
Total joy. Wow. I think I did 10 to 2 every day. Hey, I knew you did. This is your program director, Garrett. It's Garrett. Remember when I hired you? Yeah. And then remember when I fired you? Then I fired you. I never fired you. I hired you. Tommy, you're thinking about. I'm thinking about Tommy. I hired Tommy in Seattle, then I fired him. And then I hired him again, then I fired him. And then I hired him and fired him and hired him. It got to the point where he knew I was joking around. I'd say, hey, Tommy, you're fired. He goes, no, I'm not. I'm hired. I go, okay, fine. I forgot. Hey, Tommy, I forgot. Did I hire you or fire you? I don't remember. Well, you're fired. I'm just kidding. You're hired. You're hired. So listen to the... I know, Garrison, we love it. So you do a Richard Dreyfuss. You do a Garrett. You do a Garrett. Oh, yeah. Next. Okay. So then... Yeah. I'm guessing, are you kind of dabbling with the radio? Or is music the main deal, Anya? Which one were you going... Well, whichever works out better. You know what? It was kind of... I had been dabbling with both things for like 10 years. And music was just a fun thing that I was doing on the side. I started back in college when I was in a band. And radio became my accidental bread and butter. I never intended to do either thing. But I just got...
really lucky in radio and i was able to i think because of the thing you said that i'm you know somehow myself or whatever it is that's paid off for me i mean i was always made fun of for my voice growing up it was always like i was told don't ever do anything with your voice you have this squeaky weird voice and this you know kind of odd personality and i'd never felt mainstream or anything so the fact that i was on this great radio station, and was able to work in radio for years, talking to people is kind of bizarre. And, you know, at the same time I was doing music for fun, I met Steve Poults, who, you know, years ago, we dated, he was my boyfriend, and he was like, you need to... Jay! That's so... That's the soundtrack of our entire six years together. Wow. No, but he gave me a guitar and said, you wrote some great songs. You should pursue this. I started doing open mics. And then it just sort of snowballed from there. I would take my vacation time here at FM 94.9 and go on tours. And I booked myself. And then one day I decided I'm going to put out this CD. Did that myself. And then somebody called from Grey's Anatomy and said we want to put a song in our show.
That was it. And that was the first time that I really thought, wow, I could actually make money doing this? Yeah, you've toured. Listen to who she's toured with now. Jason Mraz, Chris Isaac, Eric Hutchinson, Greg Laswell. You've been doing some pretty big stuff, not to mention in 09, nominated for three San Diego Music Awards, Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year. That's got to feel pretty good. It felt... Terrific. I was so burnt out at the end of that year touring by myself that I didn't even make it to that music awards ceremony. Really? I kind of lost my mind and had like a breakdown. Yeah. I was touring straight for nine months by myself in like a minivan. And I just lost it. And I remember thinking, how can I possibly be missing the San Diego Music Awards due to fatigue? People really do that? Like they say, you know, I'm exhausted. But it happened to me. And I kind of. Had to regather my energies. I moved out of Southern California. I got a place in Portland, Oregon. Just had a really quiet year. Wrote 35 songs. And I just recorded and finished a new album. Wow. And it's going to come out probably at the beginning of next year. And I got this great band together. How did you get everybody? How did you guys all meet?
Well, Portland's a lot like San Diego in that the music scene is really helpful. And, you know, one guy will say, you've got to meet, you know, my friend Polly. He's an amazing drummer. So I got Polly. I got Jeff Bond here on bass. who records bands up there and is an incredible producer and a mimic. And from one of my favorite bands ever that you guys are playing, Telekinesis, Cody Votolato on guitar has joined us for this tour. Who is really nice. All these guys, they all came in. I got lucky. Really, really good dudes. Can you sing for us? I'd love to. All right, cool. Ami is going to sing for us. What song are you going to do? We're going to do a song off an EP I just put out, which we'll have at the Casbah tonight. It's called Spirit School. You got it. This particular song's about being in a band, so anybody who's in one can relate. Or if you've seen one of these homeless-looking characters emerging from a van, you'll understand.
Won't see my love for weed. Hounds and miles to go with weed. Deep beads not a dream. Don't fray your pretty hair. You're looking like a walking dead. That's so cool. This one's called Notice Me. Thanks so much for having me. Yeah, absolutely. It was great. It's like a long summer haze. We're in outer space. On the dark side of the moon. Your brother's stereo. Good. Did you have a nice week off? I did. I did. I went to Northern California and it was like only 105 air conditioners were broken. But I had a good time. Is that a true story? It really is true. It was 105 and the air conditioner was broken? Yeah, at my husband's grandma's house. How many days? Well, no, that was actually only one day. One day. But still, it was 105. But there were fireworks. That's actually six days in heat time. It's illegal. Yes. Yeah. In heat time, that's six days. It sucked. Yeah. The heat part of it. Yeah. But fireworks are legal in the county right next to the county we were in. I went to Chico. So that's Butte County. So fireworks on the drive up from the airport. We kept seeing fireworks stands. You don't see that down here ever. Of course, we had to pull over, spent way too much money on fireworks, and then it was fun. I would too. So what do you got coming out? Well, you just played something off Nothing's Shocking, so I think I'm going to grab that, play something off that. We listen to a lot of TV on the radio on our little vacation, so I'm going to play something from their new record and new recommended music from a band they will be co-headlining with in September. Sweet.
There you go. Arctic Monkeys. So that's coming up. It's good to see you back. You too, guys. Welcome home, kid. Good to see you, Anya. It's so much fun. The lovely and talented Hillary is coming up next, and we will see you tomorrow morning at 6 a.m. The Mikey Show's out. Yep.
