After intros the big LeBron drama announcement talk begins. Will Miami be the best team next year? Not if my Lakers have anything to say about it! Cav’s owner flips his lid when writing his open letter to Cav’s fans, pretty much calling Lebron a loser and a jerk. What’s a Gitvuzella? WoS has emotional fan audio from Cleveland about Lebron James basically saying ‘C- Ya! Wouldn’t want to be ya!’ The Miami Heat jokes continue and are followed up by some third person audio. Sienna reports on a sea lion named “Cop Car” released into the wild. The Panel takes on metabolism, fish talk, and Lindsay Lohan’s daddy. LOB’s Pine Mouth revelation interests Mikey. What does Obese Mikey wish they put in vending machines? Sienna would like to see booze available in vending machines. An email about a college student who chose Grossmont over UCLA for a girl gets the gang talking. Hey Cubs, I got a surprise for you, Mockey! LOB cracks a great joke about the size of Mike’s cologne bottle. The roast is on as Rebecca calls in to reminisce about Mikey’s Hawaiian oxygen facial! Brand names versus generic leads to another hilarious Bark Maumann story. If you don’t like Lauren’s turkey chili then hit the road buzzard! Dudes call in with their go-to dishes they make to impress chicks. Woods is a “mad crier” and demonstrates his mad cry/wall punching. Movies are the theme for Radio Charades. Places you should not go on a first date get Mikey and The Kid to contemplate their bromance. We learn about LOB “Rocking your face off”! Talented local musician Josh Damigo stops by with his acoustic and wins over Woods even though Josh wears a Red Sox hat. Disneyland rides and Mikey at a water park with his shirt on jokes are next. Donald Duck is not pals with Mickey Mouse. Old Time Radio explains the ins and outs of the radio biz, followed by weird wedding locations. LOB makes another joke that discomforts Mikey. Food that helps you sleep sees LOB the butt of jokes. Sienna reports on Japanese monkeys pulling off the greatest escape.

The program also featured Mikey’s jury‑duty tale, a story of lab monkeys escaping via tree‑branch catapults, and Josh D’Amigo’s plug for Alex’s Lemonade Stand charity.

KBCT San Diego, a Lincoln Financial Media Station, the new home of The Mikey Show. This is FM 94.9. Welcome to LeBron Friday, everybody. It's real good. Letting everybody know right off the bat, you're going to hear a lot about LeBron James today. Sure. I'll tell you right off the bat. It's The Mikey Show on a Friday with a lot. So much going on. Obviously. This morning, it's going to be LeBron, LeBron, LeBron. Welcome to the program. We got five people on the show. Myself, I'm the host of the program. My name is Mikey, and I am 40 years old and went to jury duty yesterday. More on that in a little bit. Do you feel like a grown-up now? I do. First time? First time I've ever done it. Nice. I had never, ever fulfilled that civic duty. Now I have.
and am eligible to do it again in a year, they say. Sounds great. Let's see. Woodsy is our sports guy, and he is 34 years old. Not very long, though. He's not 34 or very much longer. Ten days. Ten days. I'm so not used to seeing him so clean-shaven. Really? He is so clean-shaven. Does it feel good to be so clean-shaven? Yes. Yeah. I shave once a week now. Do you? Pretty much the greatest thing ever. It's so weird that I didn't notice and you did, Mike. Really? Is it? We're going to get there and start like that this morning? Next to where we're going to get this thing rolling. I didn't notice either. I was laying in bed last night, and I was like, and I just had to get up in the middle of the night and shave. Really? Yeah. Let's see. Lauren is our assistant producer, and she is 29. She's a stand-up, and she's a very funny gal. That's funny. And she likes... She likes black guys. Yeah, she does. Now it's part of her introduction. Wow. Putting it out there. You know, I just want to let people know about her personality, what she's like. I like all guys. It's probably her biggest character trait, you know. Oh, boy. Oh, you're Lauren. Oh, you're the one that likes black guys. Okay, gotcha. Wow. Sienna is 25. And Sienna is our news girl.
She got herself some donuts from listeners this morning. I'm so happy. She is stagged. She is beaming right now. I will share with you guys. I had to eat one before we went on the air just to start things off right. There you go. Jay's not here today. Jay's our producer and he is back in Texas with family and will be back with us on Monday. Can we turn that down just a smidge? Really? Yeah, because I can hear like a little... A little tingy? A little tingy. Get the speaker on in the studio here. The listeners will be able to hear us. Is that better, pal? Yeah. There's no ting. Okay. I got no ting. No ting? Yeah, there's no ting. It means nothing. Jesse's filling in for... Jesse is the guy that usually does the overnight shift. Yep. I'm normally the guy who presses play and says clever things like, here's the white stripes. That's right. And he is with us this morning. He's filling in for Jade. Does a great job. Chris is our phone screener. You can call 570-1949 is our number. Or if you want, you can text us, 949mikey at gmail.com is the way that you do that. Yeah, so many aspects of the LeBron James story. But yesterday, LeBron decides he's going to do a one-hour special on ESPN to announce where he's going to go.
The proceeds from the advertising that ESPN gets are going to go to the Boys and Girls Club of America per LeBron James. Okay? He says that's what he wants. And here is LeBron making the announcement. Are you still a nail biter? I have a little bit. Not of late. We've had everybody else biting their nails, so I guess it's time for them to stop chewing. The answer to the question everybody wants to know. LeBron, what's your decision? In this fall, man, this is very tough. And this fall, I'm going to take my talents to South Beach and join the Miami Heat. Miami Heat. That was the conclusion you woke up with this morning. By the way, did you hear? There was like... It's such a strange reaction. Two claps. That was the conclusion I woke up with this morning. I think you woke up with that conclusion.
Long before yesterday morning, LeBron. Can one of you guys tell me why this has been such an anticipated? I don't understand it either. I mean, here's the deal. LeBron came out of high school. He's 17. Didn't go to college. Straight to the NBA. Superstar. Yeah. Off the bat from Akron, Ohio. So the fact that he went to his hometown team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and played and was an all-star, made the playoffs. I mean, it's a huge deal for them, obviously. arguably the best player in the game. Right. When I went to interview Metallica one time at the arena in Cleveland, it was in 2004. So he had only been there a year. And when I walked into the arena, they had the most glorious, gigantic shrine to LeBron that was permanently there. It was from the floor to the ceiling of this arena. I mean, giant. And it was this photo of LeBron. I'd never been into an arena where they had taken a player and basically made him into this big, giant, you know, focal point. After a year. After one year. That's nuts. After one year. I just remember being in awe of the scope.
Of this player. The guy can, I mean, he can play. I mean, he can flat out play. He was by far the biggest free agent the NBA has seen in forever. So that's the deal. That's what I thought. Like, because he's a free agent, because it was basically up to him. Yeah, it was in his, you know, it was his decision on where he wanted to play. I mean, any team out there would have given him whatever he wanted. So he went to Miami where earlier in the week they announced that that's where Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh decided that they were going to go. And so, LeBron, why Miami? Why? Like I said before, I feel like it's going to give me the best opportunity to win and to win for multiple years. And not only just to win in a regular season or just to win five games in a row or three games in a row, I want to be able to win championships, and I feel like I can compete down there. Woodsy, did you watch this special? I did. What did you think of it? Spectacle? I turned it on about. I turned it on literally about a minute and a half before he made the decision. I didn't watch the whole thing. Right. But I watched it from then on. Yeah, it was a spectacle. Yeah. It was a spectacle. I mean, you know, there's a lot of guys that have been free agents in their career and never seen a one-hour special on anybody. I never have. I mean, granted, it's like great for the kids that they got all that money and the sponsorship money and for the boys and girls clubs. That's great. Right. But couldn't you have just cut a check? Yeah.
Instead of all the pageantry. I watched him walk in with his entourage and his purple shirt. Yeah. And he was just like, what are we watching? Yeah, it's ridiculous. My husband was staring at the TV like he had to watch every second of it. Yeah. It's what we've come to. It's sad because I think it didn't bother me that he left Cleveland. It didn't at all. He took less money to leave Cleveland. Really? Oh, yeah. He's going to make less money in Miami. than he would have in Cleveland. He wants a championship. Which is refreshing, you know, to see. But it was the manner in which he did it with the whole, you know, he's the self-proclaimed king. Yeah. You know, and it's one of those things, man. I'm on board with that. You better, hey, now you better win one. Yeah. You better win one or your legacy is tarnished. Isn't he going to need to learn how to share the ball now? Absolutely. That's what they're saying, man. Now you got to share the ball, buddy. There's other shooters on the team. Yep. Hey, LeBron. How are you going to explain this to the people of Cleveland? How do you explain this to the people in Cleveland? I mean, it's heartfelt for me. You know, it's hard to explain. But at the same time, my heart and the seven years that I've gave to that franchise, to that city, was everything. I mean, those 20,000-plus fans that came out every night we played, and they seen me grow from an 18-year-old kid to a 25-year-old man.
I never wanted to leave Cleveland. My heart will always be around that area. But I also felt like this is the greatest challenge for me is to move on. What was the major reason for leaving the Cavaliers? Well, I don't even see it as, it's not like leaving Cleveland is the whole logistic of it. It's about joining forces with the other two guys that I feel like I respect their game the most. And I feel like we have a great chance of winning and winning for multiple years. Did anyone think, I mean, was there a large percentage of people that thought he was going to stay in Cleveland? You know, he said about six, eight weeks ago, Cleveland has the edge. And he left it at that. Cleveland has the edge. So they were like crossing sets of fingers. They showed fan reaction at a bar in Miami. And then they showed fan reaction at a bar in Cleveland. And dude.
Holy cow. I mean, if you're a Heat fan, you've got to be pretty stoked at what your team looks like right now, right? Yep. Woodsy, what about the owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers? I've never seen anything like this, man. In all of my years of watching sports and following sports. I've never seen anything like this, but basically Dan Gilbert is his name. He took it pretty well, right? Yeah, he did not take it well. He wrote a letter. I heard he took it sitting down. Yeah, and with total just class. Yes, I heard that the headline in Cleveland this morning I heard is Cleveland owner takes high road. Or the complete opposite. Hardly. Basically what he did is he wrote a letter to Cavaliers fans on the team's website and said, hey, It's accountability time for LeBron James. Quote, he's gotten a free pass. People have covered up for him for way too long. Tonight, we saw who he really is. And he basically called him out for every playoff performance he's ever had, saying he quit on the team. He didn't take shots. Also, he did not return a single phone message or text since the end of the season. Okay. Now, here's my deal to the Cleveland owner. You're saying all of this clearly as if it's bad.
OK, so obviously the fact that he quit during these playoff games is bad. Yes. So it's curious to me why you're upset that a douche like that is leaving you. Right. Exactly. So because if it would appear to me that a guy like that is not somebody you want on your team. In fact, you're describing somebody that you wouldn't you don't care for. You want to hear the capper? Yeah. The capper is. He said, you simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal. And then in all caps, I personally guarantee that the Cleveland Cavaliers will win an NBA championship before the self-titled former king wins one. That is a statement. Yeah, and that LeBron has taken the curse down to Miami. What? Dude. This is just such a personal attack. Oh, yeah. Absolutely. Sour grapes, real good. Maybe he doesn't know what the word betrayal means. I don't think so. Because here's what the Webster's Dictionary definition of the word betray is. To be disloyal to by acting in the interests of an enemy. Okay. Well, it appears to me that he hasn't acted in the interests of an enemy.
In the interest of himself. Right. It is to treacherously inform an enemy of the existence or location of. To treacherously reveal secrets or information. So, I don't know. I mean, just by that definition, I'm not seeing what he did as a betrayal. It would be one thing if he led... them to believe that he was coming back. Yep. You know, if he said, if he said to the owner, listen, I'm coming back. Yeah. And I'll be back. And all it takes now is just me signing on the dotted line. Or if he answered the phone. Yeah. Or answered a text. First of all, why are you texting LeBron James? Like, why are you doing business matters over text? Hey, what's up, big guy? Yeah. How you doing? Well. Call a meeting. And in terms of the, the texts and the, and the phone calls and all that stuff, if you are a,
Like if you're trying to act in wisdom, it doesn't seem very wise to me to be having those conversations with people before you've made a decision. Right. Because what you could do is open yourself up to putting your foot in your mouth. Yeah, he was smart to do that because how many times have you totally misconstrued something that someone texted you? Yeah, for sure. And so I think that now is the time for making fun. Well, I mean, not. Clearly the owners made it to where he didn't want to hear from him. But now would be the time to say, listen, I couldn't call you and I couldn't text you because it wouldn't have been prudent. It wouldn't have been appropriate. Now is the time to do that. I'll tell you what. I don't watch a lot of NBA basketball. Yeah. I'm tuning in next year when the Heat go to Cleveland. Yeah. Oh, my gosh. Yeah. I might watch that one game of the season. Me too. Insane. I don't watch the NBA, but this, yeah, now it sure does have a different storyline to it. It sure does. It's going to be, you know, the whole thing is, I'm a Yankee fan, so everybody always says you can't buy championships. And the thing is, very important on a team to have chemistry and to have these three superstars together in basketball, which is a lot more, yeah, it's a team sport, but it's a lot more individual than people, you know, notice.
Dude, those three egos in one room, man, it's got recipe for disaster. Is there any part of you that goes, because I totally agree with that, but is there any part of you that says, well, these guys have kind of banded together. A little bit, yeah. And so they're going to say to each other, let's really do this. I'm sure they start like that. And then they can't stand each other. Because somebody's getting more attention than the other. Somebody's scoring more points. Well, look at Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan. Scottie Pippen was a phenomenal player, but he always took the second seat to Michael Jordan. I think he was okay with that. And you know why he did it? Rings. That's why you do it. Somebody, they were saying last night, somebody has to change their game. D-Wade or LeBron has to changed the way they play basketball. D-Wade's won a championship. LeBron hasn't. LeBron now... Do you see LeBron James changing? No, absolutely not. This has got... And plus, they've mortgaged their entire future and their money for these three guys. And so, dude, they're the New York Yankees this year. It's win a World Series or your year is a failure. Yeah. Heat is on.
Oh, look at you. The heat is on. Look at you. The heat is on. Get it? I want to hear what people think. 570-1949. And I guess the question is, is LeBron James a jerk because he went to Miami? Personally, I don't see it. I don't either. This coach, I mean, he needs to grow up. He's the owner. Yeah, I'm sorry, the owner. He's the 25-year-old, I mean, in some people's eyes, still a kid. Who's just trying to do the best for himself. It's not a personal thing against the city of Cleveland. Yeah, he wants to win rings. But I'll tell you, as somebody that spent a lot of time in the Midwest, that's all they got. They got the Browns, the Cavs, and the Indians. And that's all those dudes have. And they live. It's like Green Bay. They live for their football there. Indians got beat by the Rays yesterday. It was a rough day. Yeah, it was a rough day for Cleveland fans. All the way around. So, man, I just, what a lot of hoopla. And this weekend is the World Cup Finals, right? Yes. That thing over, finally? Yeah. It will be. Four glorious years until the next one. That's right. Stop it. Until we hear the Vuvuzela broken out again. It won't be, though. It won't because it'll be somewhere else.
I bet you it becomes a trend now. You think? I bet. I bet it's going to be a new fit. They're going to bring it. They have to bring them. Yeah, they're going to bring the noise. You know that they're going to start selling. They're going to have Charger Vuvuzelas. No, they're not. You know they will. You know they will. Maybe I market those and make a million dollars. A get? A get Vuvuzela? A get Vuvuzela? Yeah. A get Vuvuzela? Yeah. It would be awesome. That's an idea. Yeah. Thank you. Oh, wow. Yeah. 5701949. M1, Luis from North Park. You there? Yes, I'm on Lewis. I'm here. What do you think, Lewis? Pretty much, man. I just think he quit on the team. I think that, you know, he sort of tarnishes whatever legacy that he had before. And, you know, players like Michael Jordan would have never left the Bulls for the Pistons just because he kept getting knocked out of the playoffs. I never could see Kobe leaving the Lakers just because he kept getting knocked out of the playoffs. Hey, you may be right. Maybe they wouldn't, but I don't know that that makes it bad that you do. that you go to another team. I mean, honestly... I have no problem with that. You know, I mean, he wants to go to another team. That's fine. I just sort of didn't really like the way that he went about it. The hour-long special, I thought that was a little... A little overboard. You know what it was? It was a little NBA basketball. And that's how the... I've always said the NBA to me is like a video game.
Watching an NBA game is like watching a video game. Who can do this? Who can do that? Who can do the most exciting thing? Watching college basketball, it's a whole different thing, man. The NBA is a video game. It's a live video game. It's more about showmanship than sport. Exactly. I'll tell you, yesterday they were showing highlights of LeBron. And the highlight reel is pretty... Awesome. It's filthy. It's filthy. I mean, I saw him do things. I literally went, wow. Like, wow. That's really amazing. He's got this really bizarre talent to be able to do things other people can't really do. But you have to be a team player as well. You'll be a little phenom, but you won't have a ring on your finger. M1 Roosevelt from Temecula. Are you there? I'm here, Mikey. How are you doing? Good, man. Go ahead. Hey, let's just say, great show, man. Sorry I haven't had a chance to talk to you in a long time, but I think that LeBron is going to be successful in Miami. LeBron is not a clutch player, and Wade is a clutch player. Wade already has a ring. LeBron now doesn't have to have the pressure of, in the last minute of the game, getting the ball in his hands and scoring a point. We saw that in the last playoff, that he's not a clutch player. So I think that for him,
His game is going to change now because he can relax a little bit more in the last minutes of the game. Yeah. Maybe. He's going to have to. He's going to have to change his game. Oh, yeah, big time. Yeah, big time. Hey, Roosevelt, thank you for the call, man. I appreciate it. Wait till you hear the audio that Woodsy has of fan reaction. It is simply priceless. And believe it or not, there are other things happening in the world. There are? Yeah, there really is. There's a sea lion on the cover of the San Diego Union Tribune. That's so cute. So we'll tell you all about it. We got the panel coming up where we're going to be talking about stuff going on in the world. And I want to know what pine mouth is. All I know is that Lauren blogged that she's got pine mouth, and I want to know what pine mouth is. A serious affliction. A serious affliction. All right, well...
Maybe stop eating pine cones, I love you. Yeah, that's right. Let's do breakfast. Your voice be heard on The Mikey Show now. I'm ready. Call 570-1949. It's a Mikey show. If you're just tuning in, LeBron James is still not a Cleveland Cavalier. He's a heat. He's a heat. He's a heat. He's a heater. He's a heater. Let's see. A couple of things. Okay, yeah. So we have this amazing audio of the fan reaction to LeBron James. And let's just get right into Woods on Sports so we can get some of this stuff, man. It's unbelievable, is what it is. Panel coming up, too. I'm going to give you that audio. I'm going to give it to you in a second. But first, I want to get to a few things. Matt Latos. Gosh darn, right? Guy did it again last night. So awesome. The Padres had lost two games in a row. And so every staff needs a guy that you call your stopper. And your stopper is the guy that stops the bleeding. And Matt Latos is that guy, man. He went out last night. He threw seven innings of shutout ball. And he hit a homer. It's unbelievable. He's so great. That's so awesome. And so they stopped the two-game losing streaks. Padres won 7-1. Latos was dominant again. It's the same thing that I used to think about Peavy when Peavy was here because Peavy would do that occasionally as well. And I used to think to myself, what kind of dude are you?
When you play for a major league baseball team and you're just a shut down pitcher and then you hit a home run. That's so sick. That's pretty awesome. So cool, man. And he's he is emerging. They're going to have to pay that kid one day. They're going to have to pay that kid. I know. Look pretty good in pinstripes if they don't. All right. But the major league baseball's final man voting is over. Joey Votto from the Cincinnati Reds. He's well deserving. He won for the National League. No big deal. Heath Bell's going to be there, everybody. Also, Nick Swisher from the Yankees. Oh, Swish. Thanks, LLB. I helped vote him in. Help me out a little bit. Interesting side note, I guess, the Swisher thing. Yeah, absolutely. I guess that's an interesting side note, right? Well, I just report. I report the facts, pal. By definition, a side note. Yeah, I report the facts. And he won. He beat Kevin Euclid of the Red Sox. So that's good. You've got your Yankee cap on right now. Here's Swish on his first All-Star Game appearance. Cut one. Swisher from the Yankees? Yeah, Nick Swisher. Oh, man, you know, I just was very fortunate. We're playing Yankee Audio. Five guys, very deserving. We're playing Yankee Audio. I'm sorry about it. Both on the American League and the National League side. We're playing Yankee Audio. There's a few people besides Kevin Euclid. I've been floating on clouds today. I really haven't touched the ground. That's right. And I'm just really, really excited for the opportunity. That a boy, Nicky. Wow. Good job, kid. That's crazy. Also, this, from Ikea, young, handsome, burgeoning golfer like yourself. Yeah. There's a guy, his name's Paul Goidos.
You know what this guy shot in the opening round of the John Deere Classic? What? He shot a 59. Oh, my gosh. A 59. That's an insane day. 59 is insane. You know what's funny? The guy behind him, the guy in second place, shot a 60. Imagine shooting a 60 and being in second place. Oh, my gosh. So, Paul Goydos, it's the best day of your life. Yeah, best day of your life in your second place. Isn't that ironic? Don't you think? Oh, wow. A little too ironic. It's only the fourth round of 59 in PGA history. The first since 1999. David Duvall did it back then. Here is Goytos on his round, cut two. When I look back and I'm not playing anymore, some of the winning on the PGA Tour is a big deal. But I think individuals, like, you know, I've got ten hole-in-ones. I've got three double eagles. 59, you know, is one of those things I'm going to look at and say, you know, that's pretty cool. He has ten hole-in-ones, too, by the way. Oh, my gosh. Only nine more than you would. Exactly, exactly. Wow. Isn't that insane? That's crazy. And so we talked about in the opener, in case you missed it, King James, self-proclaimed King LeBron James, is now a Miami Heat. Yeah. It doesn't sound right. We got some audio of some very emotional fans. I think we should play one and talk about it. Cut three. It was his right to leave, but it will never be the same.
Obviously, it'll never be the same for us, but it'll never be the same for him. And he's not guaranteed a championship at all. Cut four. For him to go on there and drag us through the... Uh-oh. Oh, yeah. Oh, boy. Oh, it gets better. Oh, wow. For seven years and established in the heart, he deserves everything he gets. I hope he never wins anything in Miami. He is dead to me. He's dead to me. He's dead to me. He's dead to me. And now for the capper, cut five. I'm a big LeBron fan. This is the worst thing that could have ever happened to me. Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. Pull it together, man. Oh, no. And I just want to say that I hope that LeBron doesn't win a championship in Miami. Okay. Okay. All right, sir. Crying. Oh, my. Is he a close personal friend or something? Yeah. Isn't he aware that it's a game and he doesn't know any of these people? He's crying. I have to. You have to. I'm a big LeBron fan.
This is the worst thing that could have ever happened to me. And I just want to say that I hope that LeBron doesn't win a championship in Miami. Uh-oh. That poor guy, man. Think of all of his friends that saw that. What's wrong with you, you boys? You got to have every guy needs to have a friend that will put their arm around their friends while there's cameras running and go, we're getting out of here. I bet he had. 19 beers before. Yeah. Definitely. I just love you, man. You can have one friend that's like, show's over, you guys. Go home. Don't do this to him. Don't take advantage. Get away from my friend, all right? It's over. I think you guys have seen enough. He's the sad one. The guy on cut four is, he's furious. Yeah. He is furious. Listen to this. For him to go on there and crack. From the very start. He's been screaming. That's why his voice sounds like that. Yeah. For him to go on there and drag us through the mud for seven years and establish in the heart, he deserves everything he gets. I hope he never wins anything in Miami. He is dead to me. They try to ask him a question. That guy's fists are so tightly clenched when he's talking. Well, I mean, if he's been drug through the mud for seven years, don't you want him out there? Get rid of it. Out of there? Yeah. Did he drag you through the mud? No. They brought the city up.
Yeah. He brought the city up. I thought it was part of your winning. The Browns, the Cavs, and the Indians are all just... That is a... That's a rough sports city. Maybe that's a guy that would put a little too much stock into LeBron James. Maybe. You know? I don't know. Go Buckeyes, I guess. Yeah. That's all they got. And Ohio State. They still got Drew Carey. Yeah. Cleveland rocks. That is strong. That is a strong reaction. Yep. 570-1949 is our phone number. There was a guy burning his jersey. Oh, yeah. Oh, wow. That's a statement. Yeah, I saw a guy burning his jersey. Oh, boy. You better stay out of Ohio for a while. Yeah. His mom should probably move, too. She lives there. I think it takes great resolve to take a jersey and light it aflame. Oh, absolutely it does.
I mean, it takes a very strong opinion. Yes. I think that you care greatly for. What must go through your mind as you're watching that jersey burn. Yes. That son of a bitch. I'll show you. Burn in hell. I just burned $150 worth of jersey. Yeah. This is LeBron being asked about them burning his jersey. I'm being told by producers that in Cleveland now, there were places where they were burning your jersey. I don't know if this comes in there as we've got some... LeBron goes, it must have taken some heat to get that going. He just starts using all little puns. You can't take the heat. Get out of Cleveland. Wow, it feels like it's really getting hot in here. Must be the heat. What's the heat index? Oh my God. Right now. Oh, wow. You surprised by this? Or just as you look, if you can see that image, how do you feel about it? I feel great. I feel phenomenal. Yeah. It was really good. I'm glad I spent seven years there. Yeah. Made the all-star team. Yeah. Went to the playoffs a few times. Yeah. So glad there's no hard feelings. Yeah. I'm glad I could have gone anywhere in the NBA and I went to Cleveland. Yeah. You know, I'm glad that I gave the seven years that I gave. Yeah. And, you know, I just, this is really, really a fun moment in my life. Well, I mean.
I can't get involved in that. You know, one thing that I didn't want to do was make an emotional decision. And I wanted to do what was best, you know, for LeBron James. Oh, no. No, no, no. Yeah, the third person. No third person. What a clown. Bad, bad, bad LeBron. Why do they do that? No third person. Why do athletes do third person? Why does anybody do that? Why does anybody do third person? Don't do third person. Micah Sparza thinks that third person is really bad. Well, the kid likes it. The kid likes it. That should be the first thing every publicist tells them. Okay, just don't refer to yourself as a third person. Don't do it. Don't do third person. Yeah. And for whatever reason, when the kid does it, it's funny. Is it? Well, there's a difference between funny and serious. Let's see. M1 Baby Shaker from Camp Pendleton. How are you? Hey, what's going on? What's up? Nothing much, man. I was talking to LeBron the other day. Were you? You know, I just put out a new underwear line, too, man. So I hope those... People don't try and burn those because they're going to really feel the heat then. Wait, you put out the underwear line? Yeah. Actually, I helped him put it out. You know, he modeled it after me. Did he? He said, I'm so chiseled. Thank you so much. Baby Shaker's just got bits. That's right. Baby Shaker has bits. I love it. All right. So, Sienna, why is there a sea lion on the cover of the San Diego Union Tribune today?
May get emotional. I'm going to try to pull it together this time, but you know how the animal stories get me. They do. Back in May, we talked about the sea lion in OB that was found under a cop car. Do you remember that? Oh, yeah. Yeah, and they nicknamed it Cop Car. Oh, wow. How creative. Why didn't they call it Donut? Yeah. Why didn't they call it? Why didn't they call it? Donut. Donut. Because cops eat donuts? Really? Donut. I get it. Come on, dude. It took me a second. Thanks for taking the wind out of my tree. No, I didn't get it for a second. LLB got it. I still don't get it. Didn't you? Yeah, I did. They should have just named it sea lion, though. Yeah, how about sea lion found under a cop car? Hey, cop car, come here, cop car. Where have they been keeping it? Probably at the zoo or the SeaWorld? Well, they found it under the cop car, yeah, and the SeaWorld animal rescue rehab people came and took the sea lion under their wings. And he was really sick, 24 pounds, which is really small for a sea lion his age. He was dehydrated, undernourished, and he was infected with parasites. So the SeaWorld people, I know.
That's sad. That's gross. So sad. Oh, baby. I know it, but it was- When you say parasites, everybody goes, ugh. I know. Well, the SeaWorld people helped big time over the last- month and a half, and they got him up to 41 pounds. They were feeding him fish. He's totally healthy now. And yesterday at 10.45 a.m., they released him back to the wild. They freed Willie. They freed him along with a few other sea lions, which they were helping. And they said that Klopkar, the sea lion, they opened the cage. He stuck his head out. He looked around for a minute like, really? I'm free? This is what's written here. It's like... It's like Shawshank Redemption. They get used to living there, and they're like, I don't want to go. Like Brooksy. Yeah, like Brooksy. Remember Brooksy? Oh, yeah, Brooksy. I hope it didn't turn out the same with Cop Car. That's what happened with Brooksy. Well, Cop Car, he paused, and then he dove into the water. Of course he did. Swam around, came back up, bobbed around for a few minutes by the boat. Like, you guys, is this really legit? Am I going to go? They still get fed at five and seven, right? I know. They released her right over by a little.
Koya Cove. What happens when he doesn't get fed at 5 and 7 like he used to? His instincts will kick in. He'll figure it out. So, and then he went on his way into the waves. That's awesome. Cup card. Makes me happy. I know. That's really sweet. I think that's very sweet. It is sweet. I just hope that he does just take right back to what he's supposed to be doing. He will. Because he was getting, you know. He'll be fine. He's getting three a day. What do they call it? Three square. Three hots and a cot. Three hots and a cot every day. Now that dude's got to fend for himself. You know what I mean? Hopefully he does good. He's been institutionalized, so hopefully he'll be okay. He'll be fine. Let's think positively. All right. Let's do the panel. Oh, by the way, Over the Line begins today. Tomorrow. Tomorrow? Yeah. July 10th and 11th, and it's also next week on the 17th and the 18th. It starts at 7.30 till dusk, and it's at Fiesta Island. Over 1,200 teams playing. Oh, wow. 1,200 teams and as many as 50,000 people will be making out to Fiesta Island. Oh, my gosh. What time are you picking me up? Oh, really? Yeah, right. You couldn't pay me $50,000. Woods, you should go just to check it out. It is a scene. I mean, you can drink there. I've heard. It's wild. It's wild. I've heard it's insane. Yeah. It's great if you're 23.
No. 35. 35-year-olds. No. Listen, come on. That's not even old. All ages go. I know. That's not even old. There's 74-year-old guys out there getting wasted. There are. It's true. Playing, yeah. Do whatever. It's like softball. All right. The panel is myself, Woodsy, and Lauren O'Brien. We just kind of, we hash out what's going on in the news. Give you some stuff that's happening out there. What's the first one? Natural ways to boost your metabolism. There's a few listed in this news article, and it is that it is really important for you to have a fast metabolism, helps you lose weight, burn fat. So these are the four. Gain muscle, keep hydrated, cardiovascular exercise, and drink lots of coffee. Coffee every morning will help. What's he? Is it a bit? To boost your metabolism? Yeah, or is that you believe in all that stuff that we just heard? My thing is I'm about to start getting really healthy. Yeah. Really? I really am. See, I haven't even had one of these cookies. Have you started with P90X? Okay, got it. How come Monday? Because I just needed a week. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. Don't worry about me. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just a question. Keep your eyes on that. All right. Lauren O'Brien? The question is, I think it's a bit. What do you think about these metabolism things? No, they're for real. Yeah? I do, like, when I'm doing all those things, I see results, so it works for me. I used to think it was a bit.
And now I'm, as you guys know, eating real stinky eggs a couple times a morning. You are. You're doing good. Little cheeses. I haven't had a soda in about two months, two and a half months. More than that. It says keeping hydrated. You drink a ton of water. And, you know, fat as a house. Stop it. Congratulations. No, you're not. You are not. Congratulations to me. You are svelte. It's really awesome. Really great what has happened with my metabolism. You're full of it. Quit on my trainer yesterday. You did? What? Well, because my stomach hurt. For the day, not for the day. Not well with doing stairs. Because it feels like there's a cut inside my gut. I know in her head she was going, is there? Really? Okay, Sally. Are you going to go to the doctor, Michael? Yeah, Wednesday. I have an appointment that I've had for two months. It's finally coming up on Wednesday. So find out what's happening in my guts. I believe that I either have an ulcer or I have some sort of acid reflux problem. Yeah. And I told Woodsy yesterday, I believe 0% chance that I don't have surgery. But I'm going to tell him that I don't want to and see if I can live with whatever the results are. Hopefully I can. Hopefully it works out. All right. Let's see. Let's get your take on this next one. There is a New Zealand researcher who is claiming.
Fish can talk to each other. They can. They make noises including grunts, chirps, and pops. Is that right? Yeah. And the fishes that can't physically make noises, they make like this vibrating noise that others, like for, they use it, you know, for mating and stuff like that. I guess the theme this morning is, is it a bit? Yeah, maybe quit eating mushrooms. What? How would you know if fish could talk to each other? Studying them. I'll tell you how. You smoke hashish and watch the wall. You listen to the wall. Haven't you seen Finding Nemo? Yeah, it's a cartoon. Yeah, it's a cartoon. Lauren, what's your take on talking fish? Absolutely. I mean, I don't think that they have like a structured language like we do, but. Oh, why not? It's naive to think that other life forms don't have a little language thing that they do. Really? Yeah. Of course they do. I think it's. preposterous. And I don't believe that fishies are talking to each other. You know what I believe fish do? I think they look at each other and they go, and that's about it. I believe fish live to do a couple of things. Eat, poo, and make other fish. And be eaten. Yeah.
But when they make other fish, there has to be some sort of communication going on. Oh, you're here, I'm here. Let's make it right. It's like the 70s. You're here, I'm here. I think that's how it goes down. The ocean is like the 70s. Yeah, I guess so. The dolphins make noises. I mean, I know they're mammals, but they're doing a lot of the same things that fishies are doing. Yeah, cats have nipples, Greg. Can you melt down? Let's see. And then, finally. On Fox News last night, Shepard Smith interviewed Michael Owen, Lindsay's dad, who just cannot get enough of the spotlight. And apparently the night that Lindsay was sentenced, she was sentenced a couple days ago, he was out and he was having a good time. He was partying it up and he was asked about it. I don't think a lot of parents understand the way you conduct yourself. But you understand why I mention it. Yesterday, a whole day-long ordeal, and you rush over to Larry King Live with Lisa Bloom to talk. And then these pictures after the sentencing the night before. I mean, what did you say you were doing? I was having dinner. I was waiting at the front table. My friend was karaoke-ing on stage.
After your daughter just got sentenced to not even in jail? It's right across the street from my hotel. It's where I eat all the time. It's the Saddle Ranch. How would you describe how you look? I'm just giving a plug to the Saddle Ranch. The Saddle Ranch? That's where the kid ate when he was in L.A. Did you? Yeah. Delicious. You read the book? The Saddle Ranch is real good. Delicious, yeah. That picture there. I mean, do you look upset about your daughter? Someone called my name and I was smiling. Big deal. Listen, you can make anything wrong. By the way, you've heard my thing on that. I don't like when people project their deal. We're all supposed to act a certain way, apparently. You know, not that I think that Michael Lohan is the epitome of, you know, acting properly. You know, he's not the model of propriety. I'm just saying, really, Shepard? What are you? Shepard? Really, Shepard? Shepard. I don't take anything out of anything. It's just all so damn weird. I don't really know how to process it all. Well, you know what? Don't process it. Don't worry about it. I'll worry about it. I don't worry about it, but, I mean, you're everywhere, and I'm like, if I get a chance to talk to you for a minute, I want to know how screwy it is. It's really hurtful. It really is hurtful. You know, listen, not that... Listen to me backing Michael Lohan. First time for everything. But it is kind of... Why don't you keep your eyes on your own paper, Shepard? Now, not that I think that Michael Lohan is, you know, dad of the year, because he isn't.
If he really wanted to do everybody a favor, he'd just shh. But I was blogging about it this morning. The only reason that Michael Lowen is able to be on all these news things is because somebody's buying. If it isn't me, if it isn't you, whatever. Somebody's buying. A bunch of people are buying. People watch. Probably because it's a train wreck. He's a train wreck and the whole thing is just one big train wreck. But anyway, that's part of the news today. You know what we didn't talk about, by the way? The day that Lindsay was in court getting sentenced, she had F.U. written on her fingernail. She sure did. Did you guys know that? Yep. On her fingernail, you know, like nail polish, really itsy bitsy and tiny, she had F.U. written on her fingernail. That was spelled out, though. Yeah, spelled out. And she was, like, holding her hand up to her face, and it was, like, pointed at the judge. I've never seen fingernails like she had. It was, like, airbrushed. Different colors. I mean, she must have gone somewhere. It might have been that new sticker bit. Yeah, it must have been. Yeah, you can get like stickers put on your nails as nail polish. And they can be like really ornate and they put the little sticker on and then seal it over. Weird. Yeah. And the whole thing is weird. It's not as completely weird to me as Pine Mouth, which we're going to find out about. Lauren.
blogged about it. Lauren was saying to us off the air a couple days ago, she said, I got this strange taste in my mouth. She said, it's almost like I've tasted the highlighter pens, you know? We were talking about it for a while. I said, seems like there can only be a few answers to this. You know? It's a pregnancy symptom, I know that much. Maybe you're pregnant. I said that to her. And I said, well, unless it was the immaculate conception. Not true. So Lauren, you believe that this comes from pine nuts. I am hoping it comes from pine nuts because I went on WebMD and I put like, I put bad taste in my mouth on WebMD. And some of the things that came up were like kidney failure, diabetes, like aspirin poisoning, all these things. And I'm like, oh my gosh. And then it says other symptoms too. So it was like one of the ones of diabetes was like blurry vision. So all of a sudden I'm like, it is. Things do kind of like blurry. I can't see anything. Oh, my God. L.O.B. Psychosomatic. Yeah, I came in the next day, and I was telling you guys about it, and then I'm on Google, and I put bad, because it seems to get amplified when I eat. And the more flavorful something is, the more this bad taste gets, it comes out. So I started to Google bad taste when eating, and Google fills in the blanks for you, and it said pine nuts. And I was like, oh, my gosh.
On Sunday night, I was in Ojai. Bathing in natural spring water. Yeah, bathing in pine. After we came back from the natural hot springs, we were like, let's not go out to dinner. Let's make dinner. We made some grilled veggies and couscous and put the pine nuts in the couscous. Oh my gosh. Grilled veggies with couscous. Yeah. Delicious. Oh, my God. And we roasted them up on the pan. I roasted them up on the pan. I was eating some in between. Does it say it'll go away? It says it could take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. If anybody has ever experienced this, 570-1949. You still have it? It's the worst. Yeah, and I'll think that it's gone. Because, you know, I wake up in the morning and I have something and I'm like, oh, I think it's gone. And then as the day goes on, it gets worse and worse and worse. Like, I ate this cookie and it tasted fine. And then once I got to, like, the aftertaste, then it started to be like, there it is. It tasted like highlighters. It's horrible, yeah. It's like if you've ever done the nasal spray and it drips down into your mouth and you go, and, like, you want to get that taste out of your mouth, it's constant. What at first seemed like a fun trip to Ojai. Party with girlfriends.
and turned into a strange taste in her mouth that suddenly took a drastic turn. Well, it's the worst because my other two friends are like, I don't know what you're talking about, freak. And when I read about it online, it just selectively affects people. Kind of like the whole asparagus thing, and then you go to the bathroom afterwards, you know? What happened next turned out to be stranger than fiction, in fact. What she found upon further investigation... Through an x-ray and an MRI, turned out to be some sort of strange sea otter living inside the house. 570-1949, people are now calling in to tell us about this phenomenon. M1 Spine Boy from San Diego, you there? Yeah, I'm here. What can you tell us? So, we made pesto a couple of months ago, and like the next day, my wife started complaining about how she had this nasty taste in her mouth. She said it tasted just like a pine tree. Really? How she knows what a pine tree tastes like. Did it stay like a day or did it stay for a while? No, it stayed for like three or four days. And the only thing that made it better was crystallized ginger. Oh. There you go. You know what that nasty taste was? What? Pesto. Oh, whatever. Pesto's delicious. That's what that nasty taste was. And it didn't affect you. It only affected your wife.
Yeah, I didn't get it at all. I didn't notice it, but she was miserable for like four days. Every time she ate something, she could taste it. Weird. We picked up some crystallized ginger at Henry's or somewhere, and then it went away. I've got some in my bag if you want. You do? Yeah, I've got some in my pocket. L-O-B, really? L-O-B, really? Big Woods has crystallized ginger. Well, he has that bracelet from the chiropractor. What does that have to do with it? So Chris has got ginger. Well, he's all into natural stuff now. You notice that he ate that bracelet three weeks ago, and he hasn't worn it since. He literally ate it off. I ate it off. My goodness. That was one of her biggest, most classic gullible. Oh, my gosh. It's my girl, dude. Well, you're turning over a new leaf, P90X. We have a great email that we got that, oh my gosh, we've probably known people that have done this. This guy's writing this and telling us about his kid. And when I say kid, I mean college age. It's pretty gnarly. And I got a news story for you about what they have in vending machines now. I got a story about my vending machine experience yesterday. I was like...

And now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. I had the worst prom. Nobody wanted to go with me. Lauren. Look, I'm kind of out of the loop when it comes to news, pop culture, that kind of stuff. Woods. I remember my first French kiss. Sienna. I've always wanted to punch someone in the face. And Jay. Yeah, I like to dance at weddings. On FM 94.9. That is a great album. Yep. That entire album by the Foo Fighters. Welcome back. It's the Mikey Show with myself. I'm Mikey. That's Woodsy. That's Lauren O'Brien. That's Sienna. And Jay is not here today, but Jesse is filling in for Jay. So when you're hearing a new voice, that voice is Jesse. We also have our phone screener, Chris, who will take your phone calls at 570-1949. I just had jury duty yesterday. And first time ever doing jury duty. Never done it before. And basically, it was at the Vista Courthouse. They had free.
Wireless. Good to you. Oh, yeah. That was really... Did you bring your iPad with you? I did. Did you? Yeah. Because somebody told me they might have the wireless. And so I took it and was reading books on there, doing the internet. Kept me entertained like a child for four hours. And then right before 12 o'clock, they made an announcement and said they don't need any jurors today, so all 200 of you can go home. Nice. And then in a year, we might call you again. So that was that. Wow. You have that to look forward to. Mm-hmm. While I was there, I got coffee out of a vending machine. What else did you have? How was that? It was hideous. Yeah, I can imagine. It was hideous. Did you have anything else? I also had cafeteria food, and it was maybe the most... I could just see you in line with a little tray. Oh, yeah. Is it a cafeteria? It wasn't your typical walk down a line and get stuff. You walked up. It looked like a cafeteria, but you actually walked up and said, I'll take this, this. I got a breakfast burrito that is making my mouth salivate just thinking about it. In a good way or a bad way? In a very bad way. The glands. Oh, yeah. Oh, man. Yummy. It had this...
Red stuff that they were calling salsa, which I thought was illegal, but to call it that. Ketchup. It was so bad. Obese Mikey wouldn't have eaten it. And obese Mikey would have eaten anything. He knows his burritos. 15, 20 years ago, I was morbidly obese. Mike. I wish that they would have had a turkey vending machine. Just had white meat and dark meat as the two buttons. The entire turkey? Just a whole thing. Yeah, come on. Gobble, gobble, gobble. Wow. Now I'll take it from there. That's a lot to ask for, Obese Mikey. I know. I think it's little to ask. Should they put cows in there too? Just put the whole cow. You press a button for a side of beef. I want sirloin. I want flink stays. Gross. I want tritip. Get it. Anything you want. But in Pennsylvania, they now have vending machines that are going to dole out what? Wine. Wine. This is...
Awesome. Why? Every high schooler's fantasy. This is great. No, no, no. This is awesome. This is what you do. You swipe your driver's license, you look into a camera, then you blow into a breath sensor, and voila, you get some wine. What? Got an idea. Got an idea. What? Maybe go to the store. Where would it be that you were made of any machine? Hey, haven't you guys ever been like, oh, haven't some people over for dinner? I forgot the wine. Yeah, I go to the store. Yeah, and then you wait in a line for 20 minutes. Do you? Yes. Sienna, you're making it sound like those infomercials where they're trying to sell you some new sort of knife. And it's like, have you ever tried to cut a tomato? And somebody's like, I can't cut this can. You can't cut a tomato. Okay. All right, Woods, how much do you like the DVD vending machines outside of 7-Eleven? Not at all. What? I never use them. I do. But it's convenient. Yeah. It's lovely. You know what else is on demand on my TV? I never have to leave my couch. Yeah. You know what else is convenient? The store. No, it's not. Well, what happens when the store is closed? Yeah, you go to the vending machine. Yeah. Like, how bad do we need wine? Yeah. You know, like, are we to the point now where we're like, dude. Oh, my God. Dude, I need some frigging Pinot, man. If I want some Pinot, I'm going to flip out. Yeah. You guys.
I don't have Pinot. I thought everyone would have my back on this. I want one of these by my house. Please. You're going to a CVS to the freaking wine box? Mom! I want some wine! Maybe she'll get me a vending machine. I'll just have one at my house. There's no Chablis and I don't want to stand in line. I'm going to be behind someone with a hundred things and all I have is a bottle of wine. No. Why? You think the vending machine wine is going to be better than the 7-Eleven wine? Okay, let me show you a picture of this thing. It's like four huge coolers. Oh, my gosh. They're not messing around. You know where else they have four huge coolers? At the store. I've already told you I don't want to wait in the long, unnecessary line. Now you've got a Bartles and James. But speaking of vending machines, I even saw another story in the news that in Tokyo, they have now banana vending machines. Oh, my gosh. Amazing. Oh, my gosh. What's wrong with that? And they have hair care product vending machines. Now that's something that we need. It just makes sense. Okay, got my hairspray. 570-1949. What should be in vending machines? What shouldn't? Kombucha.
No, kombucha should be. Can't find it anymore. But you said you went to a coffee. Why don't they have good coffee? Like, I want a Starbucks vending machine. Yeah, genius. How come there's no Starbucks vending machines? Yeah, like a little espresso shot maybe comes out. Really good. Sorry, but if they had a McDonald's vending machine. Done. Sold. Where the McDonald's employee drove up to the thing. He'd have to be there every hour, by the way, because it would be emptied out. Well, if he weren't here, if we had one here, he would. I'd eat 15 of those cheeseburgers a day. It wouldn't be made fresh like it usually is. Why don't they make it every morning? What? I'm serious. I would eat the fries, you know. Or even, I mean, is it good if it's frozen and you put it in the microwave? Nah, it's not the same. Not the same? What if they made a machine big enough? a McDonald's machine big enough that it would like fry your fries on demand. On demand. It would be incredible. So it would take the fries and it would dump it into some oil that's inside of the machine. We had one of those in college. It was an Orida machine. Oh, in. And it was like, it was in the library of all places, but it'd be open. You could swipe your little student ID card to get. How great did that smell?
I bet that smelled so good. Just feasting on fries. Especially, you know, after a couple boozy boos. Yeah. I was of age, of course. Sure. And I would get some. I'd be like, I want to get some fries, guys. Obese Mikey, get out of my way. Yeah. I want some fries. I'm sorry I've been here for 20 minutes. Get your mouth out of the way. Why don't you get away from me? You've never paid attention to me anyway. B7. 570-1949 is our phone number. There's certain things that you shouldn't eat out of a vending machine. Like, I remember one of the first meetings we had up here, Mikey was starving. Starving! I did that every day for a week. You remember what he got? Yeah. Do you guys remember? White Castle burgers? No. Sushi. What am I, Claire from the breakfast club? He went and got the White Castle burgers. I was like, where did you get those from? Yeah, I was starving. It's the weirdest thing. I just thought of a brilliant idea. What? In public bathrooms, there should be vending machines with toiletries, like a little deodorant in there, some spray, maybe a toothbrush. Have you ever been in a situation where you're like, oh, I need some deodorant right now. If they have tampons and condoms in bathrooms, why can't they have toiletries like mouthwash and stuff like that? You know what I mean? Maybe they figure people would break them too much to get, if it's too valuable. Yeah, maybe they would break into them. M1 Tony from Alpine, are you there? Yep.
You have Sienna's back on this. Oh, yeah. Yes, I do. What do you think? I think that they should have many machines of wine, too. So why the urgency for wine? Stay strong in your argument. Oh, because I'm Italian and I like to have my dinners with a glass of red wine. Brilliant. Yeah, you know where they have red wine? The store. I don't see where it would be more convenient for a machine over a store. If you sell me, I'll be sold. Aren't you going to the store to use the vending machine? No! They could be anywhere. Where are they? Like on the side of the road? No, they're outside of a store. Outside of a freaking store. How weird is that? You guys, how annoying is it on the 4th of July when you're like, man, I forgot to get some beer to bring over to my buddy's house for this party. You go in there and there's lines all the way down the aisles. Yeah, now there's lines at the vending machine. Now there's lines at the vending machine. No. Yes. Not in a perfect world. There would be. In a perfect world. Everyone, who's the genius? It's like, I'm going to bypass the store. I'm going right to the vending machine. Everybody.
Everybody's going to be there. Okay, well, why do they have iPods and vending machines now? It's awesome. That's weird, too. They do have that in airports. It's weird. No, they have them at the Vons in La Jolla. They do? Of course they do. They have gold bricks at the Vons in La Jolla and vending machines. I want an iPod. Can you imagine little kids running around there? It's right here in the vending machine. Well, that's the reason. I can't decide. Do I want bazooka gum or do I want bricks of gold? I'll just take an iPod, I guess. Do you have a million on you? Do you have a million dollar bill? You guys haven't seen those? Oh, yeah. I saw them in the airport. And, like, I kind of get it in the airport. It kind of makes sense to me. Because maybe you forgot your iPod. You're going on a long trip. And maybe you're going to go. Maybe you're Lauren. And you're going hiking in, you know, Nepal or something. And you want to listen to music. And you're there and you're like, I forgot my iPod. Well, how about an underwear vending machine? Because you probably forget. Ew. Okay, I'd buy that. Creeps. I'd buy that. They do that in Japan, but that's a little different. Yeah. Why is that creepy? I don't know. Hanes? Or, you know, ladies? Maybe if they're in plastic packs. Yeah, yeah. No, I'm talking about you in dirty underwear because you forgot yours. With the creepy perverts in the room. I just picture them, like, hanging. I immediately thought red. Yeah. I don't know why. Mikey's Maroon Man panties.
Can we please never bring those underwear up again? They're the most romantic underwear that I've ever had in my life. I don't know why I have red underwear. But I'm throwing them away. I'm throwing them away. I'm donating them to Goodwill as soon as I get home. In case you're ever chased by a cartoon bull. Guess who's on the phone, guys? Who? Santa's husband, Todd. Hi, Todd. Hey, what's going on, guys? What are you doing? Hey, I thought I'd call in and just help clarify why this wine vending machine is so popular. Yes, please do. Do my job better for me, babe. Please. It's because Pennsylvania has crazy liquor laws. You can only buy wine at a liquor store, which is only open from, like, noon to 9 o'clock at night. So say it's already 10 o'clock at night and you want to get a bottle of wine. You can't get it. Well, if it's that big a deal. Well, and it closes early on Sundays and stuff. Same thing with New Jersey. You have to go to like specific places. And a lot of states, they have those strict rules. But you guys, if that's the deal, if that's the law, if that's the rule. And so they're like, oh, so you know what we'll do? We'll put vending machines.
why don't they change the law? Like, if the guy put vending machines, why don't they change the law? Because they found a little loophole with the breathalyzer, the ID swipe. Like, if you need a loophole so bad, why not change the law? That's weird with the breathalyzer on there, though. Like, they don't want you showing up at midnight when you're already soused. If you're already drunk, they're not going to serve you. That's smart. What do they have? Little mouth condoms? Yeah, probably straws. They'd have to have mouth condoms or whatever. No, it'd be a straw. Yeah, but what about you blow, then I blow, then he blow? It'd be a pack of straws. They used to have that at a bar at the saloon in Encinitas. They used to have that. Hang on, babe. I've got to get us a bottle of wine. You guys, if you saw it, you'd do it just to do it. Oh, I would buy a bottle. It would be fun. And you have to look at the camera. Hi. It's me. Hello. It's me. See? I'm the same person on the ID. Yeah. Yes, it's me. Are you sure? I used to have to start my car that way. 570-1949. M1 Pete from La Jolla, you there? Yeah, that's me. Go ahead. My first point to Sienna is maybe you just go to the express lane or the self-checkout. It's even too long for me, man.
And then my second point is, an iPod and a vending machine at the airport, how in the heck are you going to download music on it? Exactly. Well, it's like, let's say, for example, Pete, that you have your laptop with you, but you leave your, like what I do a lot is I always forget my iPod in my car because I leave it in my car all the time. So let's say I'm going to Australia and I've got my computer, but I left my iPod. Okay, okay. You know what I mean? There's a pretty good odds, though, that you remembered that. What? You remember the laptop but not the iPod. But I guess it's plausible. Or let's say you're coming home from a trip, Mike. You've just done a long business trip and you want to get your kid a present. And there it is. Wait, wait, wait. My question. Are you purchasing the iPod? Does it now belong to you? Yeah, it belongs to you. It's yours. Bro, you can buy Bose headphones. You can buy iPods. You can buy all kinds of stuff. Crazy question. Okay. Why do we need a vending machine for that in the airport? Why don't they sell it in the gift shop? Yeah, you can do that too. Maybe there's a long line. You've got like two minutes to get to your gate and you're like, oh, 18 people in line to get books and magazines and gum. That makes sense. See, you guys understand that, but you don't understand my wine vending machine.
What is that? Well, I'll tell you why. Because I think that there would be less people inclined to buy an iPod, so there's no line. Right. Kidding, there's going to be... It's going to look like the cast of Sex and the City at that vending machine. Because everyone is on board with the wine vending machines. That's where they need the wine vending machine. The Twilight Premieres. The Twilight Premieres. They break them out for the Twilight Premieres, and that's it. And the new Sex and the City movies. For the Twihards. Yeah, for the Twihards. And, oh, you know what I won't bet will not be annoying? is if you get some sort of refrigerated wine and it comes out warm. Who are you going to complain to? Oh, yeah. Who do you take that to? You're going to go home and put it in the fridge, you big baby. If you're going to do that, go to the store. I have an idea, too. Do you have the time to go home and chill it? But now that Todd said that, this is what makes sense. It's annoying when you're like, okay, I'm going to go to the grocery store because I forgot about this now that I live here. You go to the grocery store, you're like, I'm going to get everything I need for the party. Oh, great. Now I have to drive 12 miles to go to a liquor store that sells wine. Now, if you have this vending machine in front of a grocery store, you can do one-stop shop. Yeah, that's brilliant. Tell me what you think about this, if you guys have ever experienced this.
Mikey, fellow dad here looking for advice. My son graduated from high school this year and he's headed to college in the fall. Through his hard work, he was able to get into a very few good schools, including my alma mater, UCLA. I thought for sure he'd be headed there, not only because my kids were all raised as Bruins fans, but also because it's a great school and it's still close to home. Well, he got serious with his girlfriend and he decided that in the spring... He'll be heading to Grossmont College to be with her. He now says that he might even just continue to live at home while he goes. Grossmont may be a fine school for a lot of people, but my son has access to so much more. I feel in this economy and job market, you need to have a leg up. UCLA is his leg up. I also think he's the kind of kid that would benefit from the entire on-campus college experience. He's 18, so I'm trying to respect his decision. But it's eating me up inside every day. Is it my job as a parent to tell him, I think this is a big mistake? Thanks, M1 Alloy. Yes, Alloy, I believe that it is your job as a parent to tell your child if you think that they're making a big mistake. But I also think that at 18, your kid is now an adult and obviously able to do whatever an adult wants to do. However...
it's up to you whether or not you're going to finance his decisions and his choices. You can finance his decisions and his choices if you want to. If you want, you can pay for him to go to Grossmont. But if you don't want to pay for him to go to Grossmont, you don't have to. And if he is willing to work hard and put himself through Grossmont College, that's his prerogative and he could do it. Aaron, by the way, it's your prerogative whether or not you let him live at your house. He doesn't have to live at your house. He is an adult. He's an adult. And so, see, a lot of kids get upset if the dad or the mom says, well, listen, it's conditional. You can, you know, I'll put you through blah, blah, blah, but you got to do it my way. It's kind of like when you live at home and your parents enforce these weird rules on you, right? And the kids that go, that's not fair. That's not fair. Well, listen, you don't have to do that. If I go and I live with my parents and they say it's a rule of the house that if you live here, you got to dress like a chicken. I don't have to dress like a chicken. That sounds amazing. I don't have to live there. Please. Please, someone tell him to do that. I would totally live in that house. Yeah, I would live in that house, too. I want to go visit that house. I'll tell you this. That'd be one crazy house, wouldn't it? Good morning. What do you think, Woodsy? Dude, I think this kid's blowing a great opportunity. I really do. And not that that's, you know, not that Grossmont College is a bad college, but, I mean, he has an opportunity to really get the full college experience, which, for me, lasted six wonderful, glorious years, was the greatest time of my life.
Wouldn't trade it for anything. Had a girlfriend when I went off to college. Within a matter of hours, she was forgotten. Truly. Where'd you go to school, buddy? Well, I started at Texas Tech University. It's a great school. Yeah, it is. It's a great school. It's not UT. No, it's not UT. It's a great school, though. Yeah, it's not. It's a good school. It was fun. Where'd you go most of the time? I went to, I did two years at Holy Cross. Don't be ashamed of it, dude. I'm not. It's a great school, all right? It's not UT. I'm not at all. It's not the University of Texas. And I graduated. This is your friend, Bark Maumann, talking to you, okay? I know that. It's okay. It's still. a great institution, all right? They got a great drama department. You can't take that away from them. Then I went to Loyola in Chicago and finished up there. Another great school. Absolutely. Not the University of Texas Longhorns, okay? No, definitely not. But certainly a good school with an incredible literature department. Absolutely. You cannot knock that literature department. That's where I got my degree. Thank you. I mean, this dude, this kid is missing out, man, for a girl.
Well, and it's two hours away. It's not like it's across the country. You could still come home and see her every weekend if you really wanted to. And isn't that the lesson? Don't you teach your kid, hey, listen, don't make decisions based on a girl. Or your friends, man. I was a dude. I went to tech because all my friends went to tech. I was this dude. And I can tell you from experience, yeah, I regret it. I regret it big time. It's so hard, though, is, like, guys and girls, when they're that age, they think that, like, they found the love of God. That's it, yeah. And, you know, the very rare circumstances, yet they do. But it's like, how do you tell them, dude, this is not who you're going to marry? I know. I mean, and they could. I mean, you have people that are high school sweethearts. But I don't think that you can tell, like, if you tell them, myself, much like the kid, I don't want to be told what to do. Right, right. I went to blows with my dad constantly, not physically, but we would exchange words over where I was going to go to school. And as soon as he told me what he thought was a good school and where I should go and shouldn't, I was like, oh, really? Really? I'm going to go. Where did he want you to go? He wanted me to go to Notre Dame. You know what? You probably could have gone too, right? With your grades? Not so much with my grades. I was working with the coach, but I wasn't working enough. Would the running have got you in?
Because you were a great runner in high school. Yeah. L-O-B. She was in a newspaper. My brother went there. I didn't want to live my brother's life. That's a good point. That's a good point, too. I wanted to do my own thing. I remember when I first met with Lauren, asking her, hey, where'd you go to school? And she said, well, you've probably never heard of it. I did say that. And I go, no, no, no. I go, I'm sure I've heard of it. What is it? James Madison University. JMU. JMU. JMU. Never heard of it. I hadn't heard of it. That was my dad's bit, too. Yeah, he said it. What did your dad go, I've never heard of it? Well, yeah. Yeah. He said that in so many ways. You know what I think is a weak bit, though, is I have a niece who wants to go to a certain school, and her dad wants her to go to another school. And he told her, hey, listen, if you go to that other school, I'm not going to pay for it. That's good. That's fine. That's weak. No, it isn't. It's kind of loud. Because it's his alma mater. And hey, they're rivals. They're rivals. They're big rivals. It's like if my kid came to me and said, hey, I want to go to USC, Dad. And me saying, well, I'm not paying for that. I mean, really? Am I really not going to pay for it? You really think he's not going to do it? He's not going to do it. Oh, wow. That's weak. Okay, Woodsy, I'm with you if what we're talking about are comparable institutions. That's weak. You're right. We're talking tech and Texas. Yeah. Are they the same?
No. UT's a better school and a better experience. Yeah. Well, in your opinion. No, no, in everybody's opinion. Really? You're talking Austin and you're talking Lubbock. Yeah. And institutional-wise, it's a way harder school to get into. It's a much better school. M1 Don from Santee. And I went to Tech, so I'll tell you. Don, are you there? Yep. Go ahead. My daughter, she was finishing high school in Ohio before we moved out here, and she did everything in her power to go where her on-again, off-again boyfriend went to Bowling Green University in Ohio. We did everything we could to help her get in there. She got in there last year, went for the semester, found out her on-again, off-again boyfriend was a real jerk, comes out here for her winter break, and doesn't go back. Now we're into the situation where... okay, where do I want to go to school now? And she's looking at the community colleges. And what really gets me is she got all these scholarships and all these grants that practically paid for her to go to school out there. And now she's like this little lost wandering soul out here. Thank you for the call, Dawn. I appreciate it. Let me tell you. It's so hard. Is there, Sienna was talking about it earlier, when you are 18 years old.
There is no one that is going to tell you that you have not met the love of your wife. You better not. You are sold on it. This is the one. This is it, Dad. I'm not kidding. You know what, Dad? You don't understand. I've seen you and Mom interact, and it's nothing like what me and Jane. What we have is real. This is real love. This is love, Dad. I know you never heard of that. This is not some puppy love fling. This is not some childish, you know. Fleeting romance, Dad. And I know I won't know the word fleeting for four or more years, but still. The best bet a parent would have is to just say, look, trust me, if this is meant to be, then it will be and you guys will make it. Well, and if they're 18 years old, talking to them on a leveled playing field, they are an adult now. Don't tell them what to do, but show them the benefits and the disadvantages. Yeah, we talked about Tylenol getting recalled, and now it's expanded. If you don't know about this Tylenol recall, you better listen because it's expanded now. Being brought to you by Guayaki Yerba Mate. Looking pretty weak and bleak out there once again today as that southwest pretty swell continues to taper off. There is a bit of a northwest crossing it up, but just a slight dose of that. Overall, looking at waves running in that ankle-knee waist-high zone on average. Maybe a few chest-high waves at those top spots still. able to filter in some of that southwest swell direction. Overcast skies will greet you once again, not as thick as it has been in northwest winds today. So that should be a curing wind, and that speaks of possible sunshine later. So that's a good thing. Overall, surf-wise, though, pretty small. Like I said, beach breaks most likely your best bet. And water tamp is going to be kind of hovering in that 62 to 64 degree range as well. Sophisticated pellet. Oh, really? Oh, I do a lot of things I shouldn't do. Sienna. I go on long walks. And Jay. I just got reminded of the worst haircut ever that I had. I forgot about. I had the rat tail. Oh, God! On FM 94.9. Tonight, cricket wireless. Kings of Leon. That's right! They're playing tonight. Look at this. I saw. Kings of Leon t-shirt. KOL shirt on. I'm like the kid in eighth grade that went to the concert and wore the shirt that looks good. Listen to it all the way there. I was just saying off the air. Yeah, of course you do. Off the air, I was saying Kings of Leon were probably looking at that tour date earlier in the year going, oh, yeah, July 9th, San Diego. That's going to be nice. Amazing. Girls, like, you know, with barely any clothes on. Nice and warm. Maybe not.
Bring your parkas. Jamie will be wearing her new L.L. Bean waders. Yeah. Looks like she's fishing for cranberry. Cranberry bogs. I dug a old roll neck sweater out of a box yesterday. So I'm going to be wearing that with some corduroys. We'll be fine. Unbelievable. Let's see. Sienna, what do we got going on news-wise? Some good news about the BP oil spill. They've just announced, BP did, that, you know how they're working on two relief wells that are supposed to be done in August? Well, they are ahead of schedule, and the first relief well could be done by the end of the month. Now, you have to remember, though, that hurricane season is upon us, so if there is some bad... weather, then it could postpone it. I wish they didn't say anything, and they just surprised us, like, that's done! Also, the biggest spy swap since the Cold War happened yesterday, the 10 Russian agents that were arrested last week were deported yesterday in exchange for four people convicted in Russia of spying for the West. Really? So, just hours after the trial... They did a trade. Yeah.
So just hours after the Russian spies pled guilty, they went right back to Moscow where they're going to serve time there. Yeah. They'll probably get fed better if they were here. Buy a loaf of bread with a pair of Levi's over there. So the Tylenol recall. Oh, what's the sports headlines? Yeah, Matt Latos does it again last night. Seven innings of shutout baseball and hit a homer. Padres win. Major League Baseball's final man voting is over. Joey Votto from the Reds, Nick Swisher from the Yankees making the appearance. And LeBron James, in case you've been living in a cave or a hole or a well, is going to the Miami Heat. And people in Cleveland are not happy. They're freaking out, burning his jersey. Oh, yeah. Crying. We heard audio earlier of a guy that was crying. In fact, if you weren't listening earlier, this is one of the... angrier reactions. For him to go on there and drag us through the mud for seven years and stab us in the heart, he deserves everything he gets. I hope he never wins anything in Miami. He is dead to me. He's furious. He is dead to me. Well, I don't know what that dude does for a living, but he better not ever leave his company. No. No. He's got to stay with his company forever because otherwise his boss could be like, you stabbed us in the heart. You're dead to me. You're dead to me. Guarantee he's going to watch.
Every Heat game, that guy. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. I knew it. I knew it. I knew it. I knew it. Hey, Cubs. Huh? I got a little surprise for you. What? You ready? Yeah. I'm feeling alive right now. Oh, you feel alive? I feel so alive. How alive do you feel right now? smallest, world's smallest bottle of cologne that Mikey made himself in Hawaii. Yeah! Little does Mikey know when Mikey was tucked himself... How did you do that? Did you go to my house? I was at your house last night. No, you weren't! Yes, I was! No, you weren't! You were sleeping. He was still awake. Oh, my gosh! You were up in your little boot bed. Yeah, you were up in your little boot bed, and I met your lovely wife in the driveway. She is dead to me right now. to get this little bottle. Smallest bottle of cologne I've ever seen. I know you're listening. This is my reaction to this. For him to go on there and drive...
Okay, this bottle, it looks like a little mini rum bottle or something like that, like gold lid. If I knew that it was going to come in a bottle like that, I wouldn't have done it. Wouldn't you? I wouldn't have. Really? I wouldn't have. Smaller, smaller than a bottle of clear eyes. It's the most feminine bottle I've ever seen. It's like from Alice in Wonderland. Not only that, but it smells like a 90-year-old. It does. It smells like Old Spice. I want to smell it. I want to smell it. You think it smells better? That's better on the skin. It's better on the skin. Mikey made this smell out. For those that didn't hear, Mikey goes on vacation to Hawaii and decides that, you know what? Yeah, the ocean's there. Screw surfing. Yeah, the pool's here. Yeah, we can go to volcanoes and ride mopeds and do all kinds of fun stuff. I saw a little kiosk for cologne making. And I'm going to go make myself up a batch of little man perfume. I'm going to be, you know, it's called Elizabeth Taylor for a day. And that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to go make myself some little perfume. And you did. You sure did. And you paid through the nose for it too, pal. How did she let that out of our home? She let it. She actually called us last night and goes, are you guys still awake? And I said, yeah. And she said, I've got that bottle of cologne that you requested. No! And I said, I will be over in five.
Are you kidding me? Five minutes. Let me see it. I drove over there like a bat out of hell. What are you guys doing? I'm passing it around and I've asked them to do something when they smell it and I will read you what they say when we're done. We have a live studio audience in here. How do you feel right now? They deserve to smell it. Mortified. Do you feel as big as your cologne bottle? I hate it. I hate it when you get me, and it's so clever and funny. It's the worst. It's like a dagger in the heart. Yes, I want it to be a bad joke, but when it's perfect like that, it kills me even worse. Rebecca was so funny, and she said, she goes, you know, Mikey's very into theology. And I said, yeah, I know. She said, I think there's some frankincense and myrrh in there. Easy three-wise. Are you the fourth wise man? There is not. Are you sure? I'm positive. Mikey. The reason that she said that is because the girl, Pam. Pam? Pam from Pam's Perfumes. That helped me with it. She said that, you know, she's like, she's got all, you go through and you. Yeah, fill us in on how it goes. Elizabeth Taylor. Yeah, Elizabeth Taylor. More like Elizabeth Arden. Yeah, Elizabeth Arden, fine. But anyway.
Yeah. You, you, you, you. Say it. I want to hear it. I want to know your thought process. But as I start to say it out loud, I'm like, are you really going to say this? Is your mouth going to let you say these words? You have to. We're going to take a picture just so you guys know in the car. We're going to take a picture of Mikey holding the perfume in his hand so you know. We're going to take a picture of you. We're going to take a picture of it next to a dollar bill so you can see how small it is. A quarter. Can we get it on Mikeyshow.com? Yeah. If we can't, because Jay's not here today, we're putting it on Facebook in moments. I'm going to throw up. Moments on Facebook. It's got a little gold lid. Oh, I can smell it from that lid. Yeah, of course you can. Smell the lid. Stings the nostrils. It's better on the skin. It's better on the skin. Made with real bits of panther. It's very ornate. Is this solid gold? It's not this lid. It's a solid gold lid. And Rebecca also gave me the prize. There's little flowers on it. Whatever she says is wrong. Really? I know she's wrong. She has thrown me under the bus. That little thing cost a fresh $2.50. No, it did not. I'm going to put it up to the webcam right now. Keep passing it because they're writing something about it. Everybody smelled it. Oh, they smelled it. Okay, good, good.
There we go. Yeah, you can smell this in El Cajon right now. That's how strong it is. He's got real bits of panther. Yeah, so you know it's good. Tijuana just called. What is that smell? What is that smell? What stinks so bad? What is going on in there? He's putting it on. Great. Now it smells like hard-boiled eggs and a dead guy. Formaldehyde. A dead guy. Oh my gosh. Did they pull this out of King Tut's team? Seriously? King Tut's the last guy that wore this. Oh gosh. Look at you. Come here. Tell me. Come here. King Tut's like, that's so 90s. Smell him. On the neck. Is it bad? Tell me it's bad. It is. It's better on the skin? It's better on the skin. Is it? It's better on the skin. I think it's better on the skin. Wait.
Come here, Sienna. You be honest. Say no, Mike. Go, no. It stinks. It's better on the skin, but it still stinks. How many different fragrances are in there, Mike? How did you make it? It smells like something. It smells like Old Spice. Like seaweed. It smells like what I would think of an 80s porn star to smell like. That's exactly what it smells like. It smells like Dirk Diggler's mustache. Oh, gross. Mustache. Okay, so I have just passed a piece of paper around the room to the 11 people in here. And I said, smell the cologne and in one word, describe what you think of it. You ready? In one word. Oh, no. My wife's on the phone, by the way. Oh, yeah. Okay, I'll read through these quick then. $2.50. Sage. Wait, it smells like $2.50? Yeah, $250. Really? $250? It was not $250, wasn't it? It was. Ew.
Female. 90 years old. Indian food. Man's sweat. Apple juice. WTF. Cinnamon and cheese. I would have had one. Pine mouth. Pine mouth. Seaweed. Oh, man. I think I may have gotten duped on that stuff. But it was an experience. Gee, you think so? It's okay. You're not trying to sell it. You just wanted to have fun. The worst. Perfume making experience. Suck Rebecca. Yeah. Hi, honey. Hi. Oh, really? Oh, my gosh. My favorite comment was WTF. WTF is exactly right. Well, so I was thinking about that day when we were in Hawaii. When you went to go have your signature fragrance. In the beautiful, beautiful weather. Which is, by the way, what they called it. Signature fragrance. I just, I want to get in a DeLorean and get it updated. And just go back in time and not do that. That was such a nice day. And I was trying to remember, hon. Did you do that before or after your oxygen facial? Oh my God.
Rebecca, you just got him good. Wow. He has no words. He is done. There's a giant bus in the room, and Mikey is under it. Mikey just turned away from the microphone. His forehead is in his hands, and he is upset. You know who doesn't get made fun? Exactly. The guy that doesn't get an oxygen facial. Rebecca, I want to know, what were you doing when your manly, manly husband? Probably hiking. Yeah, whittling. He was in the hotel room taking a nap. Oh, my God. While he was down at the spa getting his signature cologne. That's when I, that was, you know, when I was doing that cologne, when I was doing that cologne, that's when I saw Sandler. Yeah. Adam Sandler. And he was like, where's your smell? He goes, hey, somebody making something really stinky, right? It was amazing.
Oh, my gosh. Well, honey, let me tell you. No, no, no. Listen, when a wife gets paid back. When a wife. You get to talk about her on the radio every day. It's about time she gets to do something to you. Thank you, Rebecca, for that phone call last night. Thank you. Made my day. You know, I think it smells good. She was waiting for me in the driveway. She was so excited to give it to me. Oh, my gosh. Oh, yeah. Oh, my gosh. She was so excited. I think I might have to hang it up. I'm trying to talk myself into the fact that it smells good. No, it's your own. Maybe I retire it. Maybe I retire it to that garbage bin over there. No, you have to keep it. Maybe he's right. Bring it to the senior center. They would be like, I'm sorry, Dan, but it smells a bit old. It's like something they could use to revive people. Smelling salts. Smelling salts. Yeah, they use it in the octagon when guys get tapped out. Thank you, honey. Love you. Yeah, love you too. Seriously. No, really. Honestly. No, come on. Seriously. M1, Sully from Del Mar. Are you there? Yeah, brother. What's up, man? How are you? I'm going to Hawaii on Sunday. And I'm bringing back some essence of manhood.
Are you ready to drop a fresh 500 bucks on that? It is not. It is not. Dude, I'm telling you, I'm with you on that deal. I really am, man. I'm not kidding you. That's a beautiful thing. Listen. Now, where did you get it specifically? There's some place called Ajna. It says it on the bottle. Ajna. AJ. And the plot thickens. Ajna. Listen. Sounds like a song by Kajagoogoo. A-J-N-E. Yeah. Clay Aiken just called and he was like, that is the gayest thing I've ever done. Osnos, my favorite. Cologne maker. Right. Maybe we have him in the studio and we'll do a smelling test. Absolutely. I'd love to make my own perfume if I was gay. Okay, listen. All I know is that they had this advertisement and it said that Terrence Howard made... this cologne. And I was like, I want to believe anything. I want to be like Terrence Howard. You believe anything you read. Yeah, he was here. Yeah, yeah, he was here. Sure he was. Mikey gets talked into doing anything. I was like, hey, maybe I could be tall and black and strong. Oh my gosh. And then I would call you. I could be all cool like Terrence Howard. I'm like, if Terrence Howard can do it, I can do it. I would love to have been a fly on the wall when Mikey walked past.
Wow. What is that? Is that a cologne-making kiosk? I'm all the way in. I want to make my own signature fragrance. What do you call it? M. It's M by Michael Esparza. M by Michael Esparza. I want to come up with a really good name. Holy cow, man. That is hysterical. M1 LeBron is on the line. I made my decision to go to Miami. Thank you, LeBron. Somebody finally having the rocks enough to stand up and support a manly decision like an oxygen case. And I wanted to know if you would go in the party with my new underwear. I wanted to put your fragrance on my underwear. Sure, sure. I'll get your number, LeBron, and call you later. That's great. I love you, buddy, but sorry. It had to be done. How dare she? It had to be done. How dare she?
So great. Oh, my gosh. That's a wife right there. Did we even tell you about the Tylenol thing? No. We'll do it when we come back. Super. The Mikey Show now. 570-1949. Or text 949Mikey at gmail.com. So, yeah, Tylenol. Tylenol has a recall going on. Yeah. And what's it for?
Well, there's been over five recalls within the last nine months dealing with Tylenol and Johnson & Johnson products. But since January 15th, there's been a recall following complaints of a musty or moldy odor on their medicines. Now, this is affecting children's Tylenol, the liquid version, as well as... Benadryl, Motrin IB, Tylenol Extra Strength, Tylenol Day and Night, and Tylenol PM. They say they found little flex, little black flex in there too, remember? Yes, and a couple months ago we talked about how their factories were being inspected and there were things taped together and just dusty and gross. So yeah, they're saying, you know, everything, just basically try to stay away from some of the products. They recommend going to the generic brands because they're expanding the recall right now. And these are all over the counter, which is scary, of Tylenol, Motrin, and Benadryl. So, Sienna, you're having a baby pretty soon. Yeah. You're going to get the generics? Yeah. I mean, I don't want to deal with something scary. They're saying it's not really life-threatening. Not really. They're not saying it's certain.
But still, it's just scary. You don't want to mess with stuff that's moldy or musty, and you don't want anything near your babies or yourself. Of course not. I've never bought anything generic in my life. I don't know what I'm going to do. It's not just in the U.S. This is all over. I mean, this medicine, the Tylenol stuff is Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, everywhere. Let me tell you. I can tell a difference. If we do a taste test. Oh, stop it. We do a taste test. Oh, for the love of... Because it's not candy-coated? We could do a taste test. Bring in, like, Hydrox and bring in Oreos. Oh, well, that's not generic. Blind taste test. That's just a different brand. Okay, well. What about the difference between, like, Advil and over-the-counter ibuprofen is that sugar coating. That's it. It's delicious. Yeah. I wouldn't have even known that. Are you sure? Yeah. Ibuprofen, because I have to take it. I mean, it's got the same percentage of amount of that medicine, of ibuprofen. They don't coat it in sugar, though. Yeah, they don't. That's true. I don't believe it. What do you mean you don't believe it? What don't you believe? What I don't believe is that there's got to be some ingredient in the brand name that makes it good. It's magic. It's the brand name. I'm telling you. I think there is. I think there's something in there. Advil would like you to believe that.
Yes, they would. Would you buy, what kind of spaghetti sauce do you like? Prego. Would you buy spaghetti sauce? No. To save 15 cents? No. It's different. It's medicine. You're not really supposed to taste a pill. You just swallow it. Would you buy generic bubbly? Bubbly. Do you remember the Mark Malman? bobbly story? You guys. It's bobbly. It's bobbly. It's bobbly. How could I forget? In Italy, it's bobbly. Do you know what Bark Malman used to do? He would invite, he would ask a girl out on a date. He would kill us if he knew we were telling this story. Oh, he'd kill us. He's like the sixth member of the show. Yeah, he really is. No one knows. Well, it's because he does crazy stuff. Yes, he does. He's a character. He used to ask girls out on dates. have them come to his house, and he would pretend that he made homemade pizza dough from scratch. Would he have flour on his head? He would. He put flour. That's not a joke. That's no joke. No joke. He would put flour a little bit on his face. No. It's complete seriousness. Flour on his face. Apron. He'd put an apron on. Yep.
He would put like Prego into the little pan. He put the bobbly sauce in there. And the bobbly sauce, the whole deal. Oh, my gosh. And then the girl would, come in. Come on in. I'm in the kitchen. I'm just finishing some things up in here. Come on in. And she would go in and he would tell her that he had prepared all of it from scratch. She had to have known. Yeah. Do you think they were just like, well, he's so cute that I'll just pretend like I don't know. This is one of my favorite stories ever because he used to, I mean, she'd walk in, he'd have a glass of wine. He'd be drinking the wine. Hey, come on in, grab a seat. And they had bar stools in front of his counter. And they'd sit there and watch him. He'd be dicing tomatoes and all kinds of stuff, throwing it in the thing, putting little spices in the sauce. And it looked, I mean, if you walked in and saw it, you'd be like, the guy's cooking up some homemade. And he's like, he's really a catch. This guy's a catch. And he pulls the dough out of the. The oven, oh, look at this. Oh, wow. Ladles, the sauce on there. Egg, pour yourself a glass of wine. And he said his bit, he'd always leave the door cracked. And so when they'd come in, they'd be like, hello. He's like, yeah, yeah, yeah, come on in. I'm back in the kitchen. Just cooking. Just back here cooking. Who goes to these, like, extreme dishes? That's pretty phenomenal. Yeah, I mean, it's phenomenal. Best part is, he worked in radio. He was a sales guy at the time. And the morning show at the station KLBJ in Austin got wind of his bit.
Yeah. And they had a man. He used to do a sports segment for them. Yeah. And they started asking him about it on the air. The guy gets off the radio and has like seven missed calls from different girls going, really, this is your bit. For real? Uh-huh. Oh, my gosh. Like, oh, easy, bobbly boys. They called him bobbly boy. Did they say bobbly? They said bobbly. If they said bobbly, they were saying the name of the product wrong. Yeah, bobbly. Because it's called bobbly. Is it? Bobbly. Bobbly breadsticks. Bobbly. Woods, did you ever have a go-to thing that you would make for chicks? No, I didn't make anything. They're dinner. Nice steak dinner. I'd take them out. You'd take them? I thought your line was, hey, I'd like to make dinner for you. Yeah, but I couldn't cook. So what'd you make? Peanut butter and jelly? You didn't have one guy thing that you just, you knew how to make that one thing? I'd make grilled cheese sandwiches. Delicious. Knock your socks off. Maybe a girl would think that that was... What's the first thing you made for Jamie? That one had to be something you were proud of. Take out from CPK. What? True story. Wow. Did you market it as your own? No. But you had to make something at one point for her. Did he? Oh, my God. What about you? You know the kid. What about you ladies? Did you ladies have a go-to date thing that you would make? Reservations. Reservations, yeah. No, I make pretty good enchiladas. You do? Mm-hmm. For real? Yeah. From scratch? Yeah.
No. Yeah, Todd questioned me one time. I'm questioning right now. Because, you know, I work early in the morning and he worked all day. So I had the afternoon to prepare. So I prepared at home and like, you know, fried the tortillas and everything and layered everything, the sour cream and the cheese. No way. And I brought it prepared at his house, but I needed to just put it in the oven. And so I just, he's like, really? Your mom made that? Yeah, where'd you buy that from? You just bought that. And I'm like, no, I really, I made it. That's the kind of stuff, by the way, makes guys fall in love. No question. No. You can cook for a dude. You know why? Because it's like your mom. Yeah. It's what you process is love. My wife can cook like a mofo. You guys know. You've tasted some of her delicious wares. Amazing. Oh, that, dude. That Hello Dolly dessert that she makes is the best. It's the greatest. It's number one. Chicken parmesan, too. Like, every guy likes that. Yeah, chicken parmesan spaghetti. Last night, my wife is becoming a fantastic cook. Last night, she made chicken piccata. Wow. Yeah, and then she absolutely humiliated me. Yeah, she sure did. What about you, L.O.B.? Did you have a go-to meal? My chili. Really? Turkey chili. It's my mom's recipe. Is it turkey chili? Ostrich? Because it's lean? No, it's turkey. But you can't. I spice it up so well that you'd love it. It's actually llama, Mike. Ew. Turkey chili. Do you use turkey? Mm-hmm. Oh, L.O.B. Maybe I'll make it for you guys. Yeah, maybe not with bird. Maybe with moo.
Maybe I'll do two crackpots worth of it. My wife tries to sneak across that turkey across me. And I'm like, what am I? You think I'm a child? You wouldn't know. Taste test. I guarantee you. I'll do a taste test. Well, don't do a thing where you make both beef or both turkey and you're like, ha ha, I tricked you. I wouldn't do that. Only Sienna and Woods would do that. They did. And try to trick me on the air. They did. But I would love to do that taste test. 100%. Well, if it's a side-to-side comparison, I think you'll be able to tell the difference, but... Well, how would you like to do it? Back to front? I just like... No. Yeah, what other kind is there? No, I would like to just spice up the turkey. Yeah, she'd like us to have it one year, and then the following year, try the other. I'd like to spice up the turkey and have you try it and be like, that's just as good as beef. I won't. I won't either. You guys are babies. Bring it in. I'm sorry. Bring it in. I want to try it. My wife makes spaghetti, turkey spaghetti. I'm like... They're repugnant. This is not... Repugnant? Repugnant. It's not meat. It's bird in spaghetti. It doesn't work. 570-1949. You know how I like turkey? Thanksgiving time. Smothered in gravy. Yeah, but maybe she has a trick. Maybe it's delicious. Spice it up. That's what they all say. Every woman that cooks with turkey has their rap about it. That's their bit. And you know what the rap is? You never know the difference. No, you know, but it's just as good. And you know what I do with turkey? What? It's like...
I don't know where this comes from geographically, but I put it over macaroni instead of just by itself. You know why you think that it's just as good? Why? Because you're cute and every guy that you've ever given it to looks at you with a big giant smile on his face and goes, it's delicious. No. It's delicious. Turkey over macaroni neck noodles? Yeah. Like elbow macaroni. Like turkey and pasta? Mm-hmm. Yeah, I used to do that. I can't decide if I'm in. It sounds pretty good. Obese Mike used to throw some of that down. I've never even heard of that. I would make macaroni and cheese and I would put hamburger meat in a minute. No, no cheese. Just the plain macaroni noodles. Of course. It's like an Italian thing. Maybe some wheat. I used to bring it to like Super Bowl parties and stuff and people would just, you know, empty crackpot at the end of the night. You always know it's good. 5701949, do you have a go-to as a dude? Do you have a go-to thing that... This is good information for other guys. Tell us this one easy thing that we can do to impress a girl that's easy to make. My brother's calling, or my brother's listening to Colin. Does he have one? He makes stuffed peppers. Oh. This is like a signature thing. Really? Oh, yeah. It's good. What do you stuff it with? With white rice and the, well, he'll make it with turkey if I'm going to come over for dinner, but he puts the beef in it and he uses like spicy sauce.
It looks very intricate, but he's got it down to his eyes. It's a bell pepper, and it's got like... It's a big green pepper, open face. With beef and rice? And rice. Bring it up here, Brad. That sounds so good. Yeah, he should come in. Wow, that's impressive. I remember my mom went through a period when I was growing up where she cooked, and there was stuff that I remember that she made that I can still remember to this day that was so good. She used to make these little stuffed cabbages with meat and rice in it. Cabbage? I loved cabbage. Oh, I don't like cabbage. Really? Disgusting. I love it. Love it. That was like what I was forced to eat on St. Patrick's Day, like once a year. What are you eating cabbage for? I like it. Charles Dickens, dude, you don't eat cabbage. Disgusting. So it comes on fish tacos. Yeah. Woodsy, you know, you're scarfing those down. Yeah, I'm four at a time. Red cabbage is better than green cabbage. Love it all. 570-1949. My brother, Steve. He's probably listening right now because he's flying in this weekend. It's the pickiest eater. But that boy can cook. Can he? Oh, he cooks for women. That guy, he's got his own hot dog company. Oh, that's right. So he'll make like pepper and sausage sandwiches. Yum. And he's got like, and he'll make homemade fries. That's amazing. Cut them up and fry them up and make them all spicy and stuff. He makes his own.
You know, dip to put it in. When he comes to visit, is it guaranteed that he has to cook for you? Does he know this? We want it. Yeah. And we beg it. Maybe he makes it right this weekend. That'd be awesome. Maybe he would. Maybe he does. Maybe I'll hang out for once. Zero percent. Zero percent chance. Hey, if there's going to be homemade fries in there. 1030 tomorrow. Tastes like pine mouth. Not to rabbit hole too much. No. But we should a little bit. But I'm going to. Let's do. I needed to talk to LOB last night. Yeah, I called her too. Oh, I forgot. I was on the phone with Mikey and you called me and I didn't pick up. Straight to voicemail. No, I didn't. I was on the phone with Mike. Lauren, what did I say in the email that I wrote to you because I needed to talk to you on the phone? I know you don't want to. Do you know what I did, Mike? Really? She did. She gave the sigh. Because I was watching Dexter. But I was able to email you and also watch Dexter. And then when you wanted me to call me, I had to pause it. I called you, I had to pause it. You can hear it in her voice. Yeah, you can. Like the phone rings. She's calling. Yeah. Phone rings and it's her. And I'm like, I can do this. I can do this. I can do this. Hello? Hi. Hey, LLB. What's going on? I'm off.
clock, by the way. It's not 6 to 10. Were you calling me about the perfume? Maybe. Oh, yeah, maybe. The cologne. Anyway, 570-1949. You know that. Let's see. Okay, so dudes are calling, and they got their go-tos. M1 Gabriel from Oak Park. What do you do? Impressive chick. Real easy to make. Stir fry. Chinese stir fry. Oh, yeah, that's good. What are we talking? What's in it? Well, I mean, there's different things you can do. A lot of things, mainly like a broccoli beef is real easy. Let me see what else you can do. Any kind of meat is really easy because you just batter it a little bit. You do, like, a real light flour on it, and you brown it first. And as long as you prep it all, you know, as long as you prep it, it's real easy. You cook it in a wok? Yeah, in a wok. Yeah, you've got to get a wok. That looks pretty pimp. I'm going to walk it out. Sure it does. You've got to walk it out. Walk it off, dude. A lot of woks come with that little ring, and so you just take the little rack off of your stove, and bam, the wok's going to work great right there. It's huge. You know what else is great about doing that for a girl? Your breath isn't going to stink. If you want to get a smidge. Is it not? No. Chinese food. It will sting. You ever burp Chinese food? Depends on the marinade. I did it last night. Wait a minute. I almost knocked my wife off the couch. Wait a minute. We're talking about... Gross, gross, gross. We're talking about, you know, snap peas and broccoli. Well, yeah, but if you put, like, a teriyaki sauce or soy sauce or something like that. I'll stay away from all that, you know?
That'll get you. It's delicious. So you're staying away from actual flavoring. Yes. Yeah, I guess so. Steam it up real sweetly. A little jasmine rice. Delicious. It's hard to find. If you're planning on, you know, kissing a girl, it's hard to find that food that you're like, I don't want her breath to stink. I had this. I don't want to stink. I had this bit with Bark Malman for years. There's a restaurant in Dallas called Mi Casino. And it's like the hot, trendy Mexican food place to go. But the thing is, it smells like a toilet. No, I'm not kidding. When you walk in, you're like, dude, I heard them have this conversation. You heard it. Yeah, and Bauman's like, really? His bit is he'd take these girls to meet Casina, and I'm like, dude, you walk out, and it sounds like a port-a-potty just spilled on you. It's disgusting. You don't go to Mexican food on your first date. You just don't. There's too many chances for... Bad stuff to happen, and you know what I'm talking about. Isn't it the worst when you go on a date, and then the next morning you smell your clothes, and it stinks from the restaurant? That happens with any restaurant. Are you a basset hound? Hold your farts, bro. No. Really? You can't control yourself? Your chances increase. They increase. They increase? Yes, you go get a nice steak dinner. Maybe you go to the restroom.
Really? No, no. That is too much. Right there in the restaurant, just unleash it. Yeah, let it flow. Please. Do a little courtesy call for you to cover it up. I'm on Omar from Oceanside. Hey. What's your go-to? Brown sugar chicken. It's super easy to make. You just heat up some chicken and then glaze it over with some brown sugar. Yeah. And then it actually handles the whole fat breast thing because it's all brown sugar, nice and sweet. Okay, but now that you've got this chicken cooked in brown sugar, what do you do with it? You spoon it over? Eat it. No, you just eat it. What do you serve it with? You put it over rice? Yeah, you can either put it with some rice. You can offset it with some broccoli. That's always good because you kind of complement each other. I don't know about it. It's very poofy. I wonder. I don't know. Brown sugar chicken. Listen, you'd love it. I think it sounds great and easy. You'd love it. So good. It's super easy. Yeah. Super easy, and it takes about 20 minutes max. And then if you want to do it with rice, yeah, it works really well. And then it complements a nice glass of wine, too. There you go. I don't think Mikey likes sweet meat. You don't like, like, orange chicken? Orange chicken works, too. Orange chicken's good, but... No, but brown sugar chicken reminds me of that. It's like a sweet...
flavor. Sweet meat. Delicious. I wouldn't like it. And the more you cook brown sugar, the more the sweetness goes away. Yep. I want that recipe. It's really awesome. Delicious. I don't trust it. I'm going to try it. I think it sounds delicious, Omar. Thank you, sir. Thank you, Omar. M1 Lalo from Chula Vista. Are you there? I am here, Mike. What did you have a girl make for you that you loved? Oh, man. You know, I love Mexican food and she cooks really well and the other day she went to her. Mom's awesome. She made his tostadas, but I noticed that it was the Sienna that was talking about the red cabbage and the white cabbage. Right. And she has never put red cabbage on the tostada. Well, she put it this night, you know, a couple of weeks ago, like I said, a couple of days ago, and she put it on. And they were awesome. But I told her, I don't want any cabbage on mine, but guess what? About three o'clock in the morning, I take her out of my bed. Out of my bed. I go to the living room. I bet. And she was like, I'm so sorry. Gross. Yeah, disgusting. From now on, it's a no-no with the red cabbage for her. Yeah, the red cabbage give you gas. Really? Yeah, you go with the cabbage. Oh, it's like rocket fuel. I never knew that. I don't suffer from that. You go with the cabbage list to tostado. That's the best way. I thought it was like the mouth over my nose and I couldn't breathe. Yuck. That's so gross. You guys have a great day. Nice visual. Appreciate it. I think I appreciate it. It's funny. I like it.
Now that I think about it, I don't know that I appreciate it. Let's see. 570-1949 is our number. If you want to give us a call, we would love to talk to you. This is getting me in the summer mood, man. Especially the weather, right? Yep. Lovely New Hampshire. Beach! Blast! Oh, my. Wait for it. This is the good part. We're going to have the time yet of Summerland. We'll never forget all over Malibu. There will be so much to do. Yeah. We just arrived at the shore. Yeah. We'll surf the biggest waves and more this weekend forecast. It will be a beach blast. Sing it. It will be a beach. Is this what you're singing when you're making your perfume? Mike.
That was painful. It's the best song of summer. Poetry, my friend. It's the best song of summer. Well, SDG&E, San Diego Gas and Electrics, want you to think more about when you use your electricity and what it costs. So to do that, they want to charge more for power used during peak periods, such as summer afternoons, and less during the off-power period. So, for example... Yeah, well, Mother Nature's going...
To them. Your bill could go up or it could go down depending on when you do laundry. You know how they're going to get us? How? Our heating bills right now. Through the roof. I know. I know. So maybe start doing laundry in the morning or on weekends if you can. Program your pool pump to run at night. You know, stuff like that. Right. Also, remember the story about the little girl in Missouri who was kidnapped, the four-year-old, and then she was found at the gas station the next night or the car wash? Right. Well, they found the... The suspect. And when police approached him, he shot himself. What? Out of here. Pretty, pretty crazy stuff. 38-year-old Paul Smith from Hawk Point, Missouri. He was actually outside of his house. spray painting his car at the time. No way. If you want to know the crazy part, how they found him was the little girl was dressed in new clothes, clothes that he bought her from a Walmart. So they contacted that Walmart. They looked at surveillance cameras, saw him buying it, and he also bought a pack of cigarettes. And with a pack of cigarettes, he had to use his ID. So they scanned his ID, found out where he lived, got all of that, showed up at his house, bam, shot himself. Holy cow, dude. Crazy, yesterday afternoon. No way. I know it. Unbelievable. Woodsy Sports.
Well, LeBron James is going to the Miami Heat, if you haven't heard. Joey Votto and Nick Swisher won the MLB final man vote. Matt Latos does it again last night, shuts down the Nationals. And maybe possibly breaking news, the Yankees are close to acquiring Cliff Lee, the ace, from the Mariners. So hopefully that goes down. Hey, Cleveland fan, how do you feel about LeBron going to Miami? I'm a big LeBron fan. This is the worst thing that could have ever happened to me. Oh, my God. I just want to say that I hope that LeBron doesn't win a championship in Miami. You know, you can actually hear one of the friends in the background. It sounds like being like, come on, Jason. Come on, dude. No, I'm going to do this. I'm going to do this right now. I'm going to do it. You're really going to regret this. Don't do it. I'm doing it. Shut up. I'm doing it, man. Your mom's going to see you. I'm doing it. Radio stations all over the country are going to be playing this audio. I'm doing it. I don't care. Just let him do it. Let him say his thing. Whatever, Jason. Have a good time. You're going to feel bad, bro. For him to go on there and drag us through the mud for seven years and stab us in the heart, he deserves everything he gets. I hope he never wins anything in Miami. He is dead to me.
He had that thing, too, that you get when you get so excited and you do the... Yeah. You get kind of... And the voice does the crack thing. He was about to mad cry. Yeah, mad cry. Kid's a big mad crier. Yeah. We get so mad, I'll cry. Write that down. That's great. Great quality to have. Well, the thing that's great about it is it usually goes away at eight. At eight years old is usually when we... I am a mad cryer. Usually by nine years old, we're done for the most part with... You guys will see me mad cry at some point. At some point. Yeah, for sure. There's nothing more entertaining than a mad cry. The mad cry. The mad cry. For the person watching. I care so much sometimes about things. You get the tears going. He does the mad cry along with the wall punch. Yes, mad cry wall punch is a great combo. Jake was given some mad cry yesterday. Was he? Oh, he was so upset that the water that he was drinking was leaking. Oh, it upset him so much. That would drive me nuts, too. And I was like his daddy.
Did he have the wrong red pen? Really? You're just going to put me on the spit? You're going to roast it up real good, Maki. Oh, is this the game, Maki? Is this shit, Maki? That's what we're doing now, Maki. He's going to roast up the kid real good. Roast it up real good, Maki. Drunk Woods. Oh, my gosh. Sweet. So some positive news in the search for an AIDS vaccine. Yes, a team has been doing some research. Obviously, let's hope so. And this team is led by Gary Nabel from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. They just found two of the antibodies in. blood of an HIV positive patient who hasn't become ill despite being infected. And with these antibodies, they can help protect against some 90% of all the different kinds of the HIV virus. So right now they're saying that they're more optimistic about an AIDS vaccine at this point than they ever have been by finding these antibodies. So there you go. Some good news. Yeah. Good stuff.
You guys want to play some radio charades? I think we got the Wigs CD. We do. So we can do that. We can give away the Wigs CD. They're the guys that sing Kill Me, Kill Me, Caroline. Yeah, we got four of those. By the way, Wigs, of course, going to be at Independence Jam 2010. Presented by Miller Light and Scion. Edward Sharp. Magnetic Zeros are going to be the headliner. But Rogue Wave is playing. The Wigs are playing. Delta Spirit. Local Band is playing. And you can get tickets for it if you'd like for $30. That includes all the fees. And it's August 29th. And it's going to be at the Oceanside Pier. Okay. Now, the person gets 60 seconds to try to get this. Adore. The person will get 60 seconds. And it's radio charades. Basically, I will be your eyes. You call us right now, 570-1949. I'll be your eyes. Woodsy will act out in the charades the movie. And what, what, what? Three of them? Yeah, we got three. Okay, cool. Let's do three. I'll do two. You want to do one? Sure. All right. Yeah.
570-1949. How come I never get to do one? Do you want one? One each. Okay, let's do one each. Let's see. M1, Colin from Carlsbad. You there? Yeah, I'm Mikey. Okay, bro. So here's what you have to keep in mind. It is movies, okay? Uh-huh. I will be your eyes, and you just have to try to figure out what the movie is. Are you ready? Ready. Woodsy, are you ready? I'm ready. You're going to start. Go ahead. Two words. He is doing the motion like crazy with his index. Okay, that's a word. Crazy is one. And he's pointing to his chest. He's pointing to his chest. That is how the game is played. He did that in 14 seconds. Wow. Maybe a record. Thanks, brother. Good job, man. That was great, Colin. Hang on the line, okay? Oh, boy. Radio charades. M1 Papa Driz from Oceanside. Papa Driz. How you doing, dude? I'm doing great. Let's do this. All right. L.O.B. is going to be acting this out for you. You have 60 seconds. It is a movie. It is. Are you ready? I'm ready. Here we go. Three words. First word. Oh, I am. I'm blind. It's like I'm blind. I'm looking around. I'm walking with a. I'm walking. I'm walk. Walk. Walk is. No. Blind. Blind is the word. Blind.
Look it, I have beautiful long hair. I'm coating my hair. No, that's not it. No, I, let's see. She's got nothing. She's trying to think. Work with blind. Blind, second word. That is the second word. That is the second word. Blind is the second word. Oh, wow. I'm a girl. I'm a girl. I'm confused. I don't know what. I don't know. I've got flowing something. Something's flowing. Oh, something down the middle of me. Something down the middle of me. Right down the center. Center. Middle. Me. Holy cow. Side. Side. Side. I got nothing. I know what it is. That's hard. Is it blindside? Yep. Yes. Sorry, dude. Sorry, Papa Driz.
I'm sorry, Papa Driz. I can't think of a better way to describe it. That one's a really hard one. That one's hard. You did great. Thank you. You did great. Okay, it's my first time. Just not easy. M1 John. Sienna's is hard, too. From San Diego. Are you there, John? Yep. Okay, Sienna is going to be the person doing the charades, and I will be your eyes. You have 60 seconds to get it. Here we go. Two words. Second word. Drinking. Drinking and sleeping. I'm drinking. I'm guzzling. Oh, now I'm awake. No, I'm feeling sick. I'm throwing up. I'm throwing up. Throwing up. Retching. Drink. Drink. And throwing up. Drinking and throwing up. So sick. Sick. Hungover. Hungover. Hungover. Very nice. That was good. It's stressful. Yeah. Okay. It's hard when one of the words is the. I know. Can I tell you what Jay left us with? Yes. You know what that clown wanted us to try to act out? What? Sherlock Holmes. Are you kidding? How in the name of God am I supposed to enact Sherlock? You know, there's so many ways to pantomime the word Sherlock. Holmes. Yeah.
My goodness. And the other one was I love you, man. That one would have been good. Sherlock Holmes? Would I put a monocle up to my eye? I'm trying to think of I love you, man. I love you, man. I love you, man. It's hard. Yeah, but you can hug everyone to your heart and then point to me. I just point at you. Yeah, there you go. Sweet. Just play Endless Love. Yeah. Hey, you have beautiful hair. I don't have any hair. Let's see. Okay, so. Sienna, what have we got coming out in the movie theaters today? We have a couple movies, which I've never heard of before. Predators. Have you guys heard of that? Now, that's a remake. It's actually, I believe, it is not a remake. It's not. Adrian Brody. If you don't know it. Dude, I saw a preview. They were showing it on TV, and I saw the thermo vision. I thought that's what the idea was in Predator. No? Well, it's an extension of Predator. It's a sequel. Oh, so it's not a remake. It's a reversing of it in which our dudes go to their world. All right, Adrian Brody. Lawrence Fishburne, Topher Grace. Tell me about the movie. Here we go. Here's the scene. Just what the hell is going on here? It sounds like we're listening to a high school play. That's what's going on. Thank you, Topher. The cages, soldier, all of us. Are you sure it's not a remake? It sounds like the exact same movie. It is not. It's a sequel?
Weird. No, it's not even that? I read a description of it. It says they go to another planet and they are, like, hunted by a predator. I'm like, does that sound like the Predator? Sounds like Predator. This planet is a game preserve. It's a Predator! Predators the remake is a perfect blend of science fiction and horrors. I just Googled. Predators the remake, it says. Yeah, it is a remake. It's a remake of a most dangerous game. I don't know. I don't know anything about it. Were you ever in seventh grade? You should have read it. What else is out today? Despicable Me. Despicable Me has, oh, wow, this actually looks good with the sound of the cast. Steve Carell, Jason Seagal, Seagal. Jason Seagal. Seagal. I wanted to be fancy. Wait. No one knows. Seagal. Seagal. Here's a scene with... Russell Brand. Steven Carell.
Is it a kid movie? It looks weird. It's rated PG-13. No, it looks weird. All right. Sleepy kittens. Sleepy kittens. Three little kittens love to play. All right, great. Yeah, okay. It's animated. It's animated. Also out The Kids Are Alright and Winnebago Man. I can't do the animated movies. No. You know why? Huh? Because you're 40 years old. No. My brother swears by a man. My two oldest brothers. They love the animated movies. Some are so good now. I'm going to go see, hopefully, if Todd lets us, me, Jen, and Todd, we'll go see Toy Story 3 tonight. Because everyone says it is so good. I keep hearing really good things. Like you cry, like men crying in theaters watching it. I don't want that. I don't either. Like I heard Up devastates you. I don't want that. I want to be happy. What about happy stories like Bambi? Or like The Departed or Goodfellas. Yeah, what about those happy stories? No. My goodness. Why don't they animate Goodfellas? Oh, my God. Oh, my gosh. You talking to me? Who are you talking to? Let's see. Some places that you should avoid going on a first date. This may have stuff to do with like the bad breath thing.
Places you should avoid going on a first date. And there's percentages along with each of the places of people saying, you know, I would avoid going to this one. Like 81% of people would avoid going to family functions on a first date. Oh, yeah, duh. Who's the 19% that says it's a good idea? Mikey. Okay, I got a wrinkle. I have a wrinkle. What? Let's say that I wasn't married. I was single. And I lived in Texas and we had our lake house. We have an amazing lake house with boats and wave runners. What if I was like, hey, I'd like you to come out to the lake, and my family was there? That wouldn't be a good first date. I think that would be incredible. What? No. Pressure. I think that'd be incredible. Pressure, scary. No way. The girl's like, oh, I need to use the bathroom, but what if his mom's in there or something? Yeah, so how long have you and Steven been dating for? It was our first date. Love your house. Love your wave runner. Let's go have a party. How do you feel about kids? That would be weird. But you're stuck there if you're the girl. Like, if you're not having fun, you're stuck. Why do you think I brought her there, Sienna? I'm trying to think from a guy's perspective. As a guy, if I went to a girl's house to meet her parents, if that would be weird. Wouldn't bother me one bit. Dude, that's what we did all growing up in high school. That was every date we did. So why is it so different? What's the difference? Because you have no choice in high school. If it was like, hey, Lauren, you and I are going to go on our first date, and we show up at...
at Donovan's and my parents are there, that's weird. That's really weird. So is the family function. Like at my lake house. A girl would love that. You just like talking about your lake house. Question. I do. L-O-B. I love my lake house. Do you think that you would think that a guy is a little immature, a little too mommy's boy-ish if he wanted to take you to meet mommy and daddy? No, I wouldn't think he was immature. Mommy's boy, I would think, slow down, partner. This is our first date. Yeah. What if he said to you, listen, I think I'm in love with you. I'd like to make love and get married. Like Mikey and I would on the first date. I'm telling you. I think I love you, man. Woods and I, we're the early love you people. We say it too early. Yeah. To each other. Really? Jinx. Buy me a Coke. You guys have the same brain. Over dinner. Oh, my gosh. Just trying to have a friendship here. That's all. Just trying to be dynamic. I mean, what was the quickest you ever said, I love you? You guys both said within the first couple of dates. I've said. A hundred percent. Yeah. Crazy. Maybe it is crazy. I don't care. My grandma has been married a few times and two of her husbands proposed on the first date. Two of them. What? Isn't that nuts? Yes. Proposed. I mean, she didn't say yes.
But they were 1,000% serious. I want to marry you. I will marry you. Let's get married. And she's like, oh, my gosh. How many of those glasses of Chardonnay have you had? Yes. Chardonnay. How many hot tarties have you had? She married two of them, though. It's crazy. That is. Some other places to avoid. Dance clubs, 34% say do not go to a dance club on your first date. Of course. They like you. Yeah. I didn't know how to dance like that. That's the weirdest place to go. Dance club. Who goes to a dance club? People that want to bump and grind. Who goes to a dance club? Who goes to a dance club? Come on with the dance clubs already. Why? What's wrong with dance clubs? When you're young, you go. Well, and if you don't want to go stand at a bar and drink, go dancing. Well, yeah, dude.
Dancing, people are into that, man. Yeah. You can socialize in a bar. Yes, you can. Yeah, but you can dance. Woods, you're projecting you're not liking to dance upon the world. Yeah. Because you don't like dancing. I think it's... I'm the same way. I wouldn't be... I would never go to a dance school. I would never go to a dance school because I can't, you know... Well, that and like the people that are like, oh, he is such a great dancer. Good for him. One of you always loves to dance and wants to keep dancing, and the other one's like, can I sit down now? I have to just keep dancing. That weirds me out, man. L.O.B. is like, I love a guy that can dance. Oh my gosh, she's dancing. That would be me. Sipping on a beer. Just drinking, not dancing back. Where else? 31% say you should avoid going to the movies on your first date. Yeah. I agree with that. I agree. It's awkward. It's very awkward. Where do you put your hand? Two hours of popcorn. I'd have a dip of snuff in. There's no interaction. Yeah, no interaction. Perfect. I completely disagree with the next one. Let's go to an internet cafe. Mike. That one's on there, too. Is it?
Well, coffee houses, 9% say avoid them. Avoid a coffee house? It's a small percentage. I think a coffee house is great. What's the logic behind avoiding that? I don't understand what the problem is. Boring. Boring. And it says that. And I want to show how interesting you are. You're not distracted by the environment. Jesse, I'm not making up the list here, my friend. I know, but I'm trying to figure out where the logic is coming from. What is the logic? What do they say? They say. Boring. 12 R's. Maybe spring for dinner. Dating a boring person. Maybe spring for dinner. It's your first date. It's hardly romantic. Can you buy a latte? Come on. Is that it? I didn't spend enough? Probably. Well, the one thing about coffee is it's over. Once you drink the cup, you're like, well, I can't get another one. I'm going to be all jittery. So now what do we do? You imagine her, three or four cups of coffee. How about we talk? How about we have a conversation? Same thing we would do. What, are you going to get another steak? You know what you can do? You can do it over dinner. What's the difference? What do you live in Seattle? What are you going to a coffee shop for, dude? A coffee shop is good. It is 100% less scary than going out to dinner. It's a lot more casual. It's weird. You're sitting there drinking a latte.
You're done with your latte in 15 minutes. See you later. Biscotti? I go have coffee with my mom. I think there's nothing wrong with it. There's only 9% of the people that have a problem with it. This one, 24% say avoid sporting events. And sporting events are the most fun. One time. I did that one time with a girl. I remember the picture too. Why is she... In the charger seat. Why is that guy wearing white and the other... Why is that guy wearing white and this guy is wearing red? No, girl. Please, whatever, say that. She's saying... What are you saying? Why is he blowing the whistle? What does that mean when he does like... It looks like a washing machine. Stop talking, stop talking, stop talking, stop talking, stop talking. Wait a minute. So wait, I thought you liked the white team. Stop talking. Who's... Wait, which one's Kobe Bryant? You know what? We should go. Yeah, let's just go. We should go. Let's go get a coffee. Is this professional or is this amateur? Let's go get a coffee. Let's go get a coffee. Let's just get out of here. Let's just leave. I've got to get out of here. You're a moron. How are they on the third down? They were just on... Wait, it's first down again. What does first down mean? I have a cool idea. You should go pee-pee. And not come back. I'm going to leave.
I went on a date with a girl named Sabrina. Sabrina. To a Charger Kansas City Chiefs game. It was 455 degrees. Must have been in Kansas City. It was here. And I was pouring sweat. And I was doing this bit, this routine, taking the hand. Oh, God. Wiping it. Wiping it on the leg. Wiping it. You know, wiping his sweat on the leg. Oh, God. Awful. Why did you do that? You're trying to big-timer. Trying to get rid of it. You're trying to big-timer. Well, I had tickets to the game. Yeah, you're a big-timer. I was trying to big-timer. There's nothing more fun. There's so many conversation starters at a sporting event. You don't realize how hot and stagnant it's going to be sometimes at those sporting events. It's hard for a girl, though, because girls are like, what does a girl wear to that? Do I wear tennis shoes? I don't wear heels. Something slutty.
Do I wear a jersey? You try to buy the jersey, the hat, and the foam finger? You couldn't have said that creepier Woods if you tried to. Something slutty. Something slutty. Something slutty. Really? Something real sweet. Real nice. Oh, why is Avatar coming back to theaters? He mentioned the nerds. You're kidding me. Josh D'Amigo is going to be in here, local musician. Play a little music for us. Be real good. We'll do it next. You're listening to The Mikey Show. The Mikey Show on FM 94.9. How smart is a smartphone that can't even walk and chew gum at the same time? Now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. I can back up like nobody's business into spots. What I can't do is parallel park. Lauren. I just don't like the way beef tastes at all. Woods. I don't admit very often when I'm wrong. Ziena. I have the fastest wiener dog on the planet. And Jay. I love that sappy movie. On FM 94.9. Welcome back to the Mikey Show. There are five people on the Mikey Show myself.
Woodsy. Yeah. Lauren. Stop it, Lauren. Lauren O'Brien. Sienna. And Jay. I love it. Who is not here today. Jay is. I can make like a hundred hush. I don't play sports. So I'm not playing them. These are all things that Jay would say if he were here. I'm so tired. I love that sappy movie. Leave him alone. You guys have all his clips memorized. Absolutely. All four of them. It's hard to get little clips of Jay saying things about himself. It is. Yeah. We have those four. It's not the first time I've been grabbed by the long arm. All right. All right. Well, perfect. Grew up, child. Avatar. Going back to movie theaters. 3D theaters. Yeah, it's going to be re-released next month. What do you think, Woods? What do you think I think, dude? You're all in?
Really? He hates it. It's being called the Avatar Special Edition. And like I said, only in 3D theaters. But I guess audiences were repeatedly asking James Cameron, look, I want to know more about Pandora. I wish we could have stayed there longer. So they're making it possible. And James Cameron said, whether you already love the movie or you've never seen it, with this special edition, you'll be seeing it like never before. Why wouldn't you let us see it like never before the first time? Because you've got to keep on capitalizing on them. I mean, they made it the best as they could, and then people wanted more, so they're like, why not throw out some more features? Yeah. The nerds revolted. Yeah. I want to know more about the topography of the planet. I want to know more about Pandora International Law. Let me go outside and play. Do something. Let me go throw a ball around. You got a Frisbee. Grab a Frisbee. Have a ball. So it's going back. Josh D'Amigo is in the studio. Josh is a local musician. And Josh, you're going to be doing something this weekend. What do you got going on this weekend?
Alex's lemonade stand is what we're doing. It's going to be a fun time. I don't know if you know the story about Alex and her lemonade stand, but she basically, four years old, wanted to raise money for young kids with cancer by starting a lemonade stand, and it started this huge revolution, and everybody is doing a lemonade stand on Saturday. That's so crazy. So 94.9, you guys sponsor one, and Tim Piles, who runs the local show, asked me to headline it, and I was like, well, of course, because I'm so soft. and cuddly that I can't play the Edward Little concert or anything, but this one is something that we could do acoustic and have a little bit of fun with, so that'll be this Saturday. That's great. All the information's on the website. That's cool. So, Josh, it's been a while since I've seen you, man, and I know that you... My stats was the last time. Yeah, dude. You were going nuts. You were so tired. Do you remember that? Yeah, I was... You were emceeing, and you had, like, no sleep. You had work that morning. Yep. I remember everything. You remember nothing. You were out on a school night, Mike? It wasn't a school night. It was a Friday night. For a benefit. It was another charity. Yeah, but I get up super early. And it's the first time I've been to Lestat, which is a really cool place to see a show. It's actually where L.O.B. did her first stand-up, right? That's true. That's right. Yep. But a cool place. And Josh is a great musician. Thank you. And I asked him if he'd bring his guitar in.
Because you were going to be coming out and say, hey, dude, bring your guitar. Let's have you do a song. Right. And so what are you going to play? Well, the first song I want to play is Rock, Rock, Rock. And it's by one of my favorite bands. And it's just rock, rock, rock is the whole song. Maybe you've seen the YouTube video. It's pretty good. Let's see. Lauren's going to back me up on it. All right. Are you ready? This is your song. Oh, that is my song? Oh, my gosh. Rock your face up. Oh, rock your face up. This is the best. I learned it this morning. Are you talking about Lauren's YouTube video? Wait, wait, wait. Let me explain. Go to MikeyShow.com. You have to see this. Go to MikeyShow.com. Best video of all times. If you go to MikeyShow.com right now. Amazing. You can see an old YouTube video that Lauren did. It's like some school project or something. No, it was a 48-hour film festival. There you go. And me and my friends decided to have fun at the end with the Rock Your Face. Let's hear it. Do you remember it? You remember all the words? Are you ready? Yeah. Are you really about to see it? Oh, I learned it this morning. I was sitting there watching it like 15 times. Can you do the motions, too? Oh, my gosh. I don't know if I can do it. You ready? This is how the whole song goes, actually. You don't remember it. I don't remember it. There you go. Fair enough.
So then I guess we won't sing it. Okay. There goes our duet. Maybe once you start, then I'll remember. Oh, yeah. I'm going to sing that. I mean, your mama said. Yeah. When you're on the phone. Oh, wow. Rock it. Because your mama's not home. Don't stop. No. Bring it. It's the most. It's the most hysterical thing. Oh, it's great. Knowing that it's L-O-B. Go to MikeyShow.com. You can check it out. Okay, I was a backup singer. That sang the lead vocals. I did not sing the lead vocals. That was my sister. She sounds like me. But I don't remember all the words. That's fantastic. Because your mama's not home. That's great. That is a good lyric. That's deep. Yeah. Deep. Josh. So, anyways, the song that I really will play, this one's called Never Gonna Let You Go. My life got changed a lot in the last two years. My brother got home with something called post-traumatic stress disorder from Iraq, and he pulled a gun out on a guy in a cab. And instead of getting treatment and stuff, they decided that he deserved jail time, and so he's going to be serving the next six years in jail for something that was really beyond his control. The night before he left,
He asked me to hold him and told me that, you know, this has got to be a dream. And I wrote this song the next day. It's called Never Gonna Let You Go. And this is probably why I'm doing all these charities and stuff. It's because I've seen something that affected my family. So this one's called Never Gonna Let You Go. Without a fight. No, I won't go down. No, I'm never gonna let you go. I'm never gonna let you go. Never gonna let you go. No, I'm never gonna let you go. Never gonna let you go. Never gonna let you go. You can take my hands. You can bind my feet. You can take my chest.
Still the air I breathe. But I won't go down without a fight. No, I won't go down. Never gonna let you go. Never gonna let you go. Never gonna let you go. Never gonna let you go. Never gonna let you go. Never gonna let you go. Never gonna let you go. That's awesome, dude. That was awesome. Josh D'Amigo. Old friend of the show, man. Really, really good musician. And is going to be...
taking part in a charity this weekend that is really, really cool. And FM 94.9 is attached to it. And it's called, tell us again what it's called. It's called Alex's Lemonade Stand. So cool, man. Yeah, and you can get all the information on the FM 94.9 site. That's so cool. Dude, thank you for coming in and doing that, man. It's so good, man. It is. It is. It's beautiful. You know, I remember one time hearing about you know, what makes a great singer. And one of the things that they say makes a great singer is that they're not just singing lyrics, that they're actually feeling the lyrics as they sing them. And you could tell that you did. And man, it's great. Just a really, really, really cool song. And it's good stuff. And you know what? He's got a CD. How can people get this CD? Because I've heard it, man. It's really good. Your CD's really good. Yeah, there's a couple ways. There's joshdomigo.com is my website. But, you know, you can hit me up at facebook.com forward slash joshdomigomusic. That's the easiest way to get in touch with me. It's online at CD Baby, but it's also on iTunes and pretty much anywhere. If you Google D'Amigo, you can find it. It's good. Thanks, buddy. It's really good. It won the San Diego Music Award last year. Did it really? That's very cool. Thank you. Well, it's good to see you again. You just need to trade hats, though. Yeah. All right.
I was worried about that. I know. Josh has got his Red Sox hat on next to Woodsy with his Yankee hat on. Did he just say he wanted to trade, though? No, no, no. Yeah, I was going to use that one as a toilet. So a couple of things that I think that I think that are going to be interesting to some folks. There are just like we were saying, there are people that are really into the animated stuff. There are Disneyland people. Okay, what I mean by this is I got my good friend Russ and Rachel. They are, they love Disneyland. My wife. loves Disneyland. I never grew up with it. What about Phoebe and Monica? Do they like it too? I'm sure Russ and Rachel have never heard that before. These aren't the questions that you're thinking. It isn't? Because what I have is released on Disneyland's website the five most asked questions. And now you think it's going to be like, what is Club 33? I think it's going to be genuine. What do people really, really ask? Where's the bathroom? Where's the bathroom? Alright, you're right.
This is going to be top secret stuff. Well, you're looking at a big Matterhorn mountain. You're like, where do I pee, though? Well, you just guessed the number one most asked question. Where is the nearest restroom? For sure. What else do you think? Can I blast cigs there? Where do you smoke? Can I smoke? Nope. I would think that would be a question. 100%. No. How long is the wait? Yes. Does this ride have a FastPass service? Because, you know, they have the FastPass for some of the rides. Who wouldn't do the FastPass is what I want to know. It's expensive. I'd pay $3,000 not to have to wait in line. The FastPass is free. Isn't the FastPass free? No, it's extra. No, it's not. Yeah, if it was free, everybody would do it. It's free. Mikey, it's free. Isn't FastPass where you get to go to the front of the line? Okay, what you do is say you want to go on Splash Mountain. If you go to the Splash Mountain, you sign up for a fast pass. There's like a separate line. And then they say, okay, you have within, you know, come back in 90 minutes and then you're going to get to go in the fast pass lane, right? Yeah. And then you come back in 90 minutes after you do your other rides because you know Splash Mountain is going to have a long wait. So then you go through the fast pass line with your pass that you got 90 minutes ago. And it's a much shorter line. It'll take you five minutes to get through it. We're going on Tuesday. It's the least busy day to go.
Is it really? That was. Until now, yeah. Come on. Only the biggest rides have Fast Pass. I heard seven people go on Tuesday. I don't know if that's true, but I heard seven people go. It's really easy to get in. Or go during the Super Bowl. That's really good. By the way, my wife, I've never been to the California Adventure. Me neither. You're not missing anything? No, I heard there's some fun stuff. Nope. Do they have a water park? I want to go at a big water park. Do they have any of those here? Yes. There's Soak City and Chula Vista. How big is it? The Wave. Is it big? It's like this big. That big? It's just like your backyard. Yeah. Raging waters or something. There's a bunch. Just look it up. You know the free fall ride, though, where you sit down, you put the thing over you, it takes you up 100,000 feet, and then it just deadfall drops you? Okay, well, my wife went on one at California Adventure a couple weeks ago. She said that it's Twilight Zone theme. The great thing about it, though, is that... Oh, the Tower of Terror? Tower of Terror. Have you ever written on it? Yes. You have. My wife said she thought she was going to die. Basically, the idea here is that it works, Woodsy, on a computer that makes it random. In other words, what it does is it drops you, and then it raises you back up, but it's different every time, and even...
The people operating it don't know what it's going to do. It's a completely unpredictable ride that works off a computer. And so the computer makes it different every time you're on it. So you will drop 100 feet. Then you'll go up 10 feet. Yeah. Then you'll drop. I wish they just dropped you all the way. I don't like the up and down. Yeah, the up and down. Well, the scariest part, too, is it looks like a hotel. It looks like a several story tall hotel. Right. And you get to the top. You're on like a freight elevator. They get to the top and they open the doors. Right. And there's nothing separating. There's no glass. There's nothing. And you just have a view of Anaheim, basically. And you're like, holy crap. And then right when you're taking it all in, they drop you. Did it scare the pants off you? Yeah, but I wanted the whole drop. It was up, down. It was like, it gave me a stomachache. It didn't really scare me. And that's the deal. It's different every time. You may go on it the next time. Because my wife said it dropped all the way to the bottom. Oh, I didn't get that. I'll pass. I can't get you to go on any scary stuff. Will you go to water park with me? No. Do I take my shirt off? Well, you can be the guy in the t-shirt if you want. It always looks great. Yeah, it looks really fun. Put on like a Shaq jersey or something. Put on a basketball jersey. What am I going to do at a water park? Me at a water park? Yeah, we'll get on slides. It'll be a blast.
Can I get another drink over here? You would love it. Please. You can bring your boogie board, Mike. That's fantastic. Bring your swimmies. My aqua socks. So the Fast Pass is the fifth most asked question. Where's the best place to see the parade? Number four. What are the park hours? Number three. And number two. Where's Mickey Mouse? Is Mickey Mouse still wandering around? Yeah, he does. There's Donald. Donald, you do see Donald sometimes. Donald, where's Mickey? Do you know? I don't know. Where in the bar? Is your turn to watch him or what? No. Sorry. I can't remember Mickey Mouse. If you see Mickey Mouse at Disneyland. I don't think I've ever seen him, and I've gone so many times. He's a rare one to find. Very invasive, that Mickey Mouse. It's a big deal when you see him. It's kind of big time in people, too. I always see Minnie, and it's like, ugh, I want Mickey. I always see Minnie. Get out of here, Minnie. Minnie's a huge diva. Mickey's a huge diva. Yeah. Huge. I heard that sometimes he doesn't go out on stage for like two hours into the concert. Yeah, he thinks he's Axl Rose. He won't do an encore? No. Not anymore. Love Mickey. Too big of a star now.
Let's see. Hey, Mikey. My husband, Andrew, M1 Castillo, and my son, Zeke, are in your backstage pass today. They're in the studio with you. Can you please wish Zeke a happy birthday on the air for me, please? That's adorable. Nice. Zeke is 14 today. So very, very cool. And thank you guys for the seasoning. They brought me Santa Maria seasoning, which is nice. It's good stuff. Thank you guys. You know the way to his heart. That's right. Seasonings. 100% true. And now it is time for old time radio. This is a real old time radio piece. No joke. You know what it's about, by the way? What? Radio. Oh, nice. You probably have, and perhaps you've taken the tubes out to test them. The vacuum tube makes it possible to transmit sound, whether by radio, a loudspeaker system, or a motion picture projector. What would this guy have thought of a Clarion system bumping down Mission Boulevard back in 1920? What would this guy have thought of that? The tube has been responsible for the growth of radio into a business involving millions of dollars. Is that right? Where is that happening, by the way?
Like any business, radio broadcasting employs a great many people in general office work. All kinds of people. Bald people. People with goatees. Hispanic people. Hispanic people with goatees. Hispanic people with goatees and no hair. Correspondents, stenographers, file clerks, and bookkeepers. Debutants. Debutants. Yeah. Executives and managers of special departments. Salesmen who sell time on the air to advertisers. Interns with retainers. People found on YouTube. Radio broadcasting. Washed up musicians who live under the board. Fake musicians who steal people's bits. Writers prepare a script, and other writers handle publicity. Yes, we have writers that prepare a script. For us, every day. Every day. They called us. Where's my script, see? Yes. Who's going to go over my sides with me? Woods, it's time to go over the script. Let's do it, Mike. All right. Hello, Woods. Hello, Mike. Good morning. Hey, it's wonderful to see you. Great to see you, old pal. Hey, who's making the coffee today? Who is making the coffee today? Chris, you got that coffee made?
Hey, Chris. Well, Chris is mute. As you can see, Chris is a ventriloquist. Chris has no idea we're talking about him. Oh, that's fantastic. News and material for special national and foreign programs. News commentators broadcast stories gathered from all corners of the world. There you go, Sienna. Sienna. Sienna, do you express your own opinions while you're doing your news? I do at times. How... would it be to see Sienna as a news girl in 1940? Fantastic. It would be the greatest thing ever because she gets stressed and she pulls her stories, you know, from a multitude of different places. Yeah. But what if... If there's only one place to search. What if you had to like... Be like, beep, beep, beep, beep. Yeah. Shut up, guys. I'm doing Morse code over here. I was so mad. Mikey, shut up. I'm doing Morse code. There are so many different websites that I go to. LeBron James. Yes. LeBron James. To the heat. Okay. I got it. Right. I got it. BP. Yeah. Got it.
Got it, got it. Okay, I'm done. What was that? Rewind. Rewind. I didn't catch that. Oil fill or oil spill? Oh, that would be bad. How bad would that suck? Even just the newspaper alone, I'm like, what? These scheduled programs, the production department has a multitude of duties to perform, primarily concerned with planning and preparing the programs to go on the air. Sound effects add realism to dramatic programs. Did they ever think that those would be the sound effects that we would be doing on radio? And are produced by specialists in a small, although very interesting field. Yeah, we're Sean when you need him, pal. Oh, really? I miss Sean. He's so perfect. Love that guy. Actors and actresses perform for unseen audiences. And control men skillfully operate the apparatus, which mixes sound effects, music, and dialogue. Sometimes they make sound effects of their mouth that sound like the passing of gas. All the time. Like this. I love me some old-time radio. I love it. Script.
Especially when it's brought to you by Palmolive. Yeah. And no lie on Medicated Palette. You just read my line. Brought to you by Coca-Cola with real bits of cocaine. So you know it's good. I know I am. Lauren. I'm not a crier. Woods. I hate fantasy. So much. So much. Sienna. Put my head down because if I hear someone cry, I cry. And Jay. Wouldn't be the first time the long arm of the law caught up with me. On FM 94.9. You know I need to do some research on? What's that? When the weather is going to heat up. Not today. No? Not today? No. I was going to go to the beach after this. No dice? Great. We'll make a bonfire. I mean, listen, people have lived in San Diego much longer than I have. I've lived in San Diego on and off since 94. I don't remember a summer like this. Not since 1912, remember? That's right. That's what you said, right, Sienna? The summer of 1912. That's right. In certain areas, it hadn't reached that level of cold in July since 1912. Well, I just always remember it being...
Hot. That's where Larry King did spring break. Yeah. Yeah. Back then. Yeah, it was a wonderful time. A little cold. Yeah. They hadn't invented sand yet. So the beaches were still made of rocks. Hadn't actually pulverized into sand yet. So we laid out on the rocks. Me with my one piece bathing suit. Gross. That's great. Larry King. Let's see. Okay. So where is the new trend? Where are people getting married? Perfect, Bill. Their favorite places, Mike. Yeah. Where would your and Rebecca's favorite place be? In-N-Out. No, he doesn't like In-N-Out. It's her favorite place. Rebecca likes it. But that's a great example. If you like In-N-Out, then a good spot for you guys would be to get married at In-N-Out. Are people getting married? Not at In-N-Out, but people have gotten married at TJ Maxx. What? I'm not kidding. This is a quote from The Bride. The one constant in my life, no matter what, has always been TJ Maxx. Oh, my God. Really? The one constant in my life. Yeah. Exactly. They walked down the size... That shouldn't be the one constant in your life. Yes. They walked down the size 8 shoe aisle. Oh.
If I was their friend, I would go, no. I'm not coming. I'm not coming. I'm not standing in the bathing suit section to catch the bouquet. A few weeks ago. What do you rent out TJ Maxx? I don't. No, you don't. You actually go during business. Well, no, I mean, we talked about this a few weeks ago. There was a wedding in Home Depot. There's been numerous weddings in Home Depot. Yes, we notice you. We'll pay attention to you. The customers and the employees stop and they watch the wedding because they're like, oh, wow, there's a wedding in Home Depot right now. That's the most. Come on. Josh, to aisle seven, lumber, please. You take this, man. Isn't it enough when your friends make you fly to, like, Some crazy place. South Carolina. In November. One of the big things, though, is like right now for brides. For example. Brides just want to make sure that their wedding is different than anyone else's. And so they think this is the way to do it. How about a church here in San Diego? How about a reception out over the old Holiday Inn? Wouldn't that be great? How about that? You guys wouldn't do what two employees at an Ohio Cold Stone just did? They got married at Cold Stone Creamery last month in June.
Who is it? Like, I don't know who the person is. I'm trying to figure out that personality. I don't know him. I know I don't, unless they're in this room. Is there anybody in this room who get married at Cold Stone? No. Nobody's brave enough to raise their hand. I would like to get married in one of the vats of ice cream. And a couple in Illinois got married at Taco Bell. Holy cow. Mikey. I know. Countdown to Mikey. Three, two, one. Kristen from San Marcos. Hey. How you doing? Good. I just wanted to tell you guys, I work at In-N-Out, and some people actually did renew their vows there. Oh, my God. Wow. Where? Where? Where in where? It wasn't at our... store, but it was in the newsletter, and they showed a picture of them and everything. Were they, like, inside the... In front of the soda fountain? In front of the drink. Oh, my God! I thought In-N-Out was for the honeymoon. That's just me, man. Really? Wow. Wow. Wow. What? It's delicious. What? It's delicious. He just pulled a pearl necklace. Wow! Oh, my God! Lauren! Lauren! What? It's a point of reference. Bye, Mikey.
My skin just crawled. Bye. Bye, Mikey. See you later, pal. Have a great day, buddy. I'll see you tomorrow, okay? I'm going to be over at 1030. See you Monday. See you Monday, Mikey. Don't even bother. Mikey doesn't like those kinds of jokes. Well, I mean, it's just so outrageous. They make him uncomfortable. Hey, guess who stopped? For a day. Who stopped? You just brought it up again. M1, Ashley from Poway. Are you there, Ashley? I am. You know an employee that got married where? I have an employee that got married at Best Buy, but I currently work there, and so is my fiancée, and we've talked about possibly getting married there. No. Why, Ashley? That's where you met? That's where we met. I can kind of see that. How about your parents' backyard? How about that? We've talked about that. We've talked about that. Why don't you go with that one? But wouldn't it be halfway funny that, you know, he works games? I work Best Buy, so it'd be kind of funny. You know, his suit's already bought. He's got the white shirt. I'm in. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Do it. Marriage is sacred. Best Buy. Let me talk you out of it. Talk you out of it. Let Mikey talk you out of it. Marriage is not a joke, Ashley. Seriously. It's funny. You are going to have to send out invitations giving driving directions to the best, and people will be like,
These directions can't be right. Because I'm at Best Buy. I'm at Best Buy. Like, what did we do? Did we plug this in wrong? People know their personalities, I'm sure. And I'm sure they're like, oh, my gosh, that's funny. It's memorable. As long as you make the reception really worthwhile. Yeah. Where's the reception at? Aisle nine? We haven't talked about. Stock room. Stock room. It's been funny to show up, get married. You could hook up all the TVs. Do a camcorder. You can see the wedding happening on all the TVs. Bring some customers into our store. There you go. There you go. I bet Best Buy would love it. What if there's like... Customers with babies and they're crying. Oh, yeah. Like at some point you got to get serious, you know, during the wedding. Yeah. And there's a kid crying. Somebody vomits on the aisle. They got to get it cleaned up. Who's vomiting? There's sawdust. There's sprinkling sawdust all over it. Probably like obese Mikey's had to eat like, you know, icees and enchiladas. But kids can be at a real wedding and make noise. I mean, not that it's not a real wedding, but I'm saying they can be anywhere. It'd be a different thing if it was like your brother John's kid.
than if it's some stranger that's in there to get a DVD player. Honestly, Mike, if you got an invitation and it was for one of your friends that was getting married at Best Buy, you would laugh. I'd roll my eyes. You would laugh. You would go and you'd be like, perfect, I need a new flat screen. Yeah, but that's a story. She has a story to tell and it's going to make people laugh. This is how it would happen. I would go to the mailbox. I would take out the invitation. I would roll my eyes. Would you? Like a shark. About to attack. My eyes would roll back white. Wouldn't you think two birds, one stone? Babe. Babe. Look at this. And she would go, oh, wow. That's what my wife would do. She would go, oh, wow. And I would go, what do you wear? What do we wear? Blue. You wear a blue shirt? Blue polo and khakis. Khakis. That's all we guys shop for. M1 butt paste is on the line from Spring Valley. Are you there? Good. She had her wedding catered by In-N-Out. I think it was probably the greatest wedding I've ever had. That's pretty solid. That's cool. My wife's favorite food. I think the only bad part was that they didn't have anything animal style. Was it cold? No, actually, I was expecting that. I was expecting some frigging microwaves or something. How did they get the, did they fry the fries out there at the wedding? I'm sorry? Did they fry the fries out at the wedding?
Oh, they did. They probably like brought everything like as they made it or I don't know. But it tasted fresh? Oh, yes. Do you know how many people right now? Oh, yes. Oh, yes. You can remember it. That's an awesome idea. I think it's cool. All right. You guys are wacky. No. This is catered. Who cares? How about cake? Well, yeah. I'm sure there was cake. You have cake, too. It's traditional. Not everybody has five-pound lobster. It's your wedding. It's a chicken. Do whatever you want on your wedding. Chicken or meat, you know? You tell me you wouldn't love to have an In-N-Out burger. I would not love to. Well, you don't, okay. Well, say it was Burger King. Okay, I had... Really? That's what you thought the problem was with me? Taco Bell. Okay, let's be real here. Taco Bell. I love donuts, and I had someone there making donuts at the end of the night. That was awesome. We know. That was awesome. Who was complaining about that? Nobody. That was cool. That was awesome. People like little surprises like that. That I did like. Let's see. What do you think about this? Mikey, I wrote you once before about a girl. Is it time already? No, no, no, no. I got two minutes. Are you sure? Yep. So I'll put this out there and let people call on it.
Mikey, I wrote you once before about a girl I knew in college and wanted to get your advice one more time. I have a buddy that we will call Steve. Really? Woods. He was dating a girl. He was dating a girl who was a nightmare and cheated on him multiple times. Every time she did, I was there for him. And I would even talk mad blank about her to him. Well, he finally broke up with her for the last time in April. And he just took her back again. Four exclamation points. Everyone has one of those. Yep. I feel like I'm wasting my breath, but I also feel like I get wrapped up in it too, and I'm actually mad when he takes her back. What would you do? M1 race gear. Angers, hurt, sadness, and fear. He's probably hurt that his buddy listens to him say all this stuff and doesn't do anything about it. He's sad because she's going to cheat on him again. Probably. That's all she's done is cheat on him, cheat on him, cheat on him.
The odds are against her. Yeah. And he's fearful that it's going to happen. Sometimes you just got to cut the cord for the buddy. Buddy's got to learn his mistake. Well, what do you mean? What do you mean? That means that he says... He tells his buddy, dude, we can't... If you continue with her, after all the things that she's done to you, you can't come crying to me anymore. Okay. You can't come crying to me anymore. I've said that to someone. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't want to hear it. I don't want to hear it. It's your life. It's your choice. Let's go play golf. You know, let's go to the strip club, whatever you want to do. But I don't want to hear about it. Strip club. Absolutely. The steakhouse, L.O.B. You have a dirty mind. Yeah, you pervert. Delicious steakhouse. No, I think you're, dude, I think that's absolutely right. You can absolutely. It's called boundaries. You can cut him off anytime he's like, well, you know what Janine did? You're like. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. You should be able to do that. But also, like, what if this guy doesn't really have anyone else that helps him? And he's obviously a lost little puppy. Well, how many times can you be the lost little puppy? Right. I mean, he may be the lost little puppy, but it's like, bro, we're working on four times. You get lost. Put a leash on yourself. Like playing a broken record. Yeah. Definition of insanity.
Doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result. Call us 570-1949 right now. Weigh in. You know, there's stuff you can eat to make you sleep better. Everybody probably wants to know that. I want to know that. I want to know that. Talk about it in a second. This is The Mikey Show. More coming up on FM 94.9. And now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. I don't like doing the guy stuff. Lauren. I will take like a half an hour to get out of bed and be like, no. Woods. I drive fast, I smoke, I'm going to hit the radio on them on my phone. Sienna. I love sharks. And Jay. Of course, I have an outrageous story. On FM 94.9. He's going to see Kings of Lyon tonight. Yeah! It should be good. I'm stoked. Yeah. That should be fun. An hour and a half drive out would be perfect. He's going to be so impatient sitting there. Come on, come on. Are you kidding? I'm going to be losing my mind. We haven't seen a show since we moved here. Bumper to bumper on your way there. That was a big thing of ours. We love to go to live shows and have not gotten the chance to do that here. So we're really excited. A little date night. Nice. Wifey and I. I'll be seeing my brother Steve tonight. Be good.
What do you guys have going on? Do you guys have anything fun? Exciting? No? I think I may take a tour of the hospital this weekend. Nice. Nice. My boys from One Louder got a gig. Where's your gig again? What are you guys playing? Second Wind on Navajo. Second Wind on Navajo. These guys are awesome. I saw them play. So much fun, dude. So much fun. Good dudes. Great dudes. By the way, tonight's 8 o'clock album, MC5, kick out the jams. So some stuff that you can eat that will help you sleep better. Let me guess. Ground beef. Cheesecake. Cheesecake. Pizza. No, no. The reason they're doing this is you know the worst is when you're trying to fall asleep and it's always harder to fall asleep when you know you have to get up soon. You're just like, I have to wake up. I have to wake up. How do I fall asleep? Story of my life. Yeah. Mine too. They say these are the things to get up and eat. Nonfat popcorn. Oatmeal with sliced banana. Delicious. One cup of plain yogurt with two tablespoons of mixed nuts. Oh, amazing. Oh, it's like high protein.
This is like L.O.B.'s lunch and dinner. A pile of sesame seeds. There you go, L.O.B. Oh, God. A handful of pretzels. L.O.B. looks like Al Pacino in Scarface with sesame seeds in front of her. All over her desk. It's all over the desk. Look at me, man. All of my sesame seeds. I have a lot of sesame seeds here. And I like to have all my sesame seeds. I can't even have a little baby with you because your womb is so polluted with all of these. Sesame C. Okay. Well, these are all things that are supposed to help relax you. Wow. A four-ounce glass of unsweetened cherry juice. Never even heard of that. L.O.B. has. Of course. Of course she has. And red bell peppers. Here. L.O.B. brings them out. Eat it like an apple. Okay, it's not hard to get up, though, and then go grab a handful of pretzels. That's not hard to do. If you're going to have a midnight snack, have a red pepper or some sesame seeds. A handful of sesame seeds.
Delicious. Can you buy those in bulk? Am I a cardinal? Am I a cactus wren? What am I? I thought you could only get sesame seeds in the little thing. Imagine you taking a handful and just dumping them in your mouth and then smiling. It's awesome. 570-1949 is our number. Give us a call. Oh, this is a fun story. Yes, yes, yes. Apparently there are some monkeys that are in some laboratories and they don't like being there and so they've come up with something. Jesse, who's filling in for Jay today, said make sure you talk about the monkey story. This is phenomenal. Monkeys in a Japanese laboratory did not, they didn't like being in cages. All right, so this group of 15 monkeys escaped. How did they escape over the 17-foot-high electric fence? Well, they realized that they could use the branches of trees to catapult themselves over the fence. Yeah, they're monkeys. It's hysterical. So they did. All of them catapulted out of this huge tree, apparently, that was in the cage, and they flew over the 17-foot electric fence. That's hysterical.
It is smart. It's really smart. It's hysterical. But this is where their brilliance kind of wore out, is once they were all over the fence, they didn't know where to go, so they just stayed there. And so the people that worked there lured them with peanuts and got them back in. Wow. They want to be out so bad that they are going to catapult themselves out of there. Yeah, maybe let them go. Yeah. Imagine walking by the zoo. You make me feel all bad now. They stand outside blasting cigs, waiting for the bus. That was really funny. They're waiting for the bus outside the zoo, like... And got around there. Imagine walking by the monkeys at the zoo, and you see them flying over. Oh, that. And there's one back there, like, pulling back the brain. Yeah. You know the 15 of them got together, and they were like, hey, I have an idea. How did the last one get out? I know. That's what I want to know. We can get out. I think we can. We've got to wait until Fatso goes to bed tonight. Hey, what are we going to do when we get out of here? I've got a friend on the outside. He'll probably get us a job at his auto body shop. Done. Auto body. You've got to get an ID though.
You're the only one without an ID. I'll get one. Don't get McLovin on there, okay? You say don't worry about you. You can bring the whole crew down, man. Don't worry about me. I'll be fine. Just get me the hell out of here. Listen, man, this ain't heat, okay? 570-1949. M1 Marcus from Carlsbad. You there? Yeah, I'm here, man. What's going on? Nothing. I'm working right now, but I got my birthday. It's coming up tomorrow. Is it? Yeah. How old are you going to be? 31, man. 31 years old. There you go. Are you married? Yeah, I am. Sorry, Ellaby. What? Sorry about that. How long you been married? 10 years. Nice. What are you going to do for your birthday? Hang with the wife. I think she got me a fishing trip, so probably do that. There you go. There goes the surprise. You already know that she got you that? Yeah, she's terrible at that. Happy birthday, Marcus. Yeah, happy birthday, buddy. Appreciate it. Thank you for calling. 570-1949 is our number. It's my dog's one-year birthday on Sunday. Yay, Zip. Is it wrong that I think I'm going to throw a party? You should. A party? I'm serious. I know that they make special dog cakes. They do. I'm going to get one. Look at Covey. I got you.
I'm not saying anything. I'm outnumbered by you and Woods. I'll tell you. The two of you guys think that this stuff is so normal, so I'm not going to say a word. I'll tell you how it goes on Monday. I'm going to do something real special for Zip. A little zipper. Oh, my God. Woods, he's right there with you. Oh, 100%. My little baby's won. Yep. You're going to throw a party? Yes. Would you celebrate Jake's birthday? Okay. This is a can of worms. I know. That should remain sealed. How about Ryan and Luke? Are you going to celebrate their birthdays? Oh, boy. Okay. Exactly. I'll tell you all about it Monday morning. Maybe there'll be hats. There you go. Maybe I post pictures. Absolutely. Hey, there was Emmy nominations yesterday. Yeah. Who got nominated? Well, there's a long list, but you want to know? Big ones. Big ones. Okay. Lead actress in a comedy, Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Louis? Yeah, Louis. That show is stupid. Louis. Is that that? The Adventures of Christine when she was old and now she's new? New Adventures of old Christine. Whatever. I heard Modern Family did really well. Oh, man. They're like 14. It's so brilliant if you haven't seen it. Yes, dude. It's so brilliant. You know one of the biggest things is that Conan O'Brien was up for nomination for The Tonight Show and Jay Leno was not. Oh, wow. I don't care. Yeah, everyone's talking about it. I saw, too, Betty White.
She got a nomination for her guest appearance on SNL. Really? She got that because of the Facebook thing. She will win. That's awesome. Best comedy series, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Glee, Modern Family, Nurse Jackie, The Office, and 30 Rock. There you go. Lots of them. All right, we got to wrap up. Get out of here. Can't believe it's a Friday. Yesterday I had jury duty, so we weren't here. And so it almost felt... Monday-ish. It felt Monday to me. Yeah, it did a little bit. But it is Friday. At the end of the show on Friday, I give you my story. I tell you my testimony. Tell you about where I have been in my life. And the reason that I do is in hopes that you can see something in my story that reminds you of you. For no other reason, hopefully gives you hope. I was sexually abused when I was a... Five-year-old little boy. And I've told you before, I got a three-year-old. He's about to be four. And so when I look at him, that is very tough for me. It's tough for me to even tell you about that. But the reason that I do is because there's people that are listening that are like me. I didn't tell anybody that for a long, long time. It was a secret that I didn't even think about myself consciously. What happened created a big sense of shame in me. And as I grew up,
I didn't realize it, but I felt like I had an emotional deformity, and I did a lot of stuff to try to hide it unconsciously. I drank. I did drugs. I would try to lose myself in all kinds of things, relationships, porn, women, drugs, alcohol, anything that would be a distraction. I did that for years. When I was in my early 30s, my dad... said to me that if I continued to drink the way that I was drinking, he couldn't continue to have a relationship with me. Very devastating to me because I had a really, and still do, have a great relationship with my dad. So I left his house that morning. I was mad, but it kept wearing on me. He had said that. And one night I was laying in bed and I was looking up at the ceiling and I had tears coming out of my eyes, but I wasn't crying with sound or noise or...
anything like that. It was just tears running down the side of my face. I was laying in bed. I was looking up at the ceiling and I was desperate. I was hopeless. Is there anybody listening right now that feels that way right now? Desperate, hopeless. You know, I've told this story so many times on the air before and I say, I asked Jesus Christ to come into my life that night. You know what? I begged him to. I was so broken. I was so messed up. I was so jacked up, man. I begged him to come into my, I begged him to do anything to help me. And he did. He changed me from the inside out, made me into a person that's completely different from the person that I used to be. And the biggest thing was that he gave me hope. My mom has Alzheimer's disease. My dad has suffered some of the same symptoms that she does because they've been married for 53 years.
My son was diagnosed with autism the day before my mom got her Alzheimer's diagnosis, and I didn't like any of it, but I got through it all. Ten years ago, I had a drink about it. I do not do that today because I have hope in my life. I have hope in my life. I have hope in my life. That's real. Nobody can ever take that away from me. That is my story. That is truly my story that I own. And I tell you this story because some of you may be listening right now that are going through the same exact thing. If you are, go to MikeyShow.com. Up at the top of the page, there's the word help. Click on that and you'll get all kinds of resources to all kinds of different problems that you may be going through from depression to eating disorders to addiction. Just know that when I did that, it wasn't an answer to all of my problems.
It was just a light to get me through all that darkness. Jesus Christ saved my life. That's the only reason I tell you this story on Friday. I just want you to know that. He saved my life. He's my friend, and I love him so much. At the end of the show, I play a song for you that hopefully brings you hope or hopefully resonates in you as something that you can relate to. This song is called Pieces. And I chose this song to play because it represents exactly how I did come to know him. The words are great. You may be able to relate to him. Don't forget that website, MikeyShow.com. Lovely and talented Hillary is coming up next. Have a great weekend. And the Mikey Show will be back again on Monday morning. We'll do this all over again. Have a great weekend. The music.
