Birthday falsetto begins the day. The gang groans about having to do a whole segment in Jay’s studio later on after losing the bet with him. Woods remembers George Steinbrenner with accompanying audio. The National Anthem makes Mikey feel proud. Sienna does not know state abbreviations so Mike quizzes her! Black jellyfish are invading San Diego beaches, much to Woodsy’s dismay. Rush Limbaugh audio of the big blowhard hemming and hawing about “that cracker” George Steinbrenner is played. The Panel discusses Tori Spelling’s wisecracking kid, cougar women, and duct tape solutions for IPhones. Luke demands a Flatscreen for his crib. Funny Fox news audio of a cat fight is next. The Passion of the Gibson has more audio of the angry Aussie. Woods is tired of all the cultural hoopla. Ding Dong Sing-Along has a kind Mikey giving away prizes to clowns. Jay’s missing turtle named Hank caused a panic in the producer and when Mikey made light of it all heck broke loose! To make things worse, when everyone was looking for Hank, Mikey was checking his email. The gang pays off their bet and spend the 8am to 8:30 segment crammed inside Jay’s sauna of a studio. Hilarity ensues and poor claustrophobic LOB starts freaking out. An email about a husband who gets upset with his scantily-clad wife is next. What is it with Lauren and crosswalks? This time some creep took a picture of her! Meanwhile, in the cool, comfy big studio Jay’s sound effect skills evoke talk about Sean and what Woods did to counter the “Amigos” picture. Would you like to be under the sea, in Paul the Octopuses garden? Millions on Youtube sure do. LOB wants her own song as Sienna Sings begins. Sienna kills KISS, croaks Creedence, and assassinates AC/DC. Next is Woodsy’s gut-wrenching P90X workout recap. Senor Beans is eager to hook people up with fake ID’s. Two birds or not two birds? That is the question. Mike Tyson gives pet-owning tips. Will Gender Pyramid see a break in the girls’ streak? How much will Sienna spend on her baby the first three weeks?

Myself, I'm standing up today. I usually am sitting down, but I'm standing up today.
is because I feel like I have plenty of coffee in my system. Good. I like it. I'm ready to go. I'm the host of the program. Not entirely happy with the shirt that I have on today, but it's all right. You know what? We all have that. Is that a structure shirt? No. What's wrong with it? It's Nordstrom. I like it. Structure's nice, right? By Nordstrom, you mean structure? No, but isn't structure cool? Structure doesn't even exist anymore. It's expressed for men. It is? Listen to that giggle. I like it. I like it, too. That doesn't look like a structured shirt for the record. Yeah, and you know what we can do? After the show, we can lay it out over a table and have a nice picnic on it if you want. I like it. You know what it looks like? It kind of looks like the shirt that Woods is wearing in our promo pics. Yes, which was Jay's shirt. Which is my shirt, yeah. That's right. Yeah. That's right. We'll get a little picnic, a little wine and cheese. That's right. We'll make it right. Make it right. Woodsy is our sports guy. He is 34 till Monday, and then he'll be 35. Lauren O'Brien is our assistant producer, and she is the girl with the Brazilian blowout to my right. She's 29. Every guy thinks something different when you say that. You need to specify what that is. It's a hairdo. It's a hairdo. It's coming apart already. Weird. Straight hair. She'd take that back.
What's that? I'm going to take your receipt right back to that lady. Take my head back. Yeah. Tell her to make it right. Say, hey, what's up with this Brazilian deal? It's actually the Monaco blowout. I know. It's the Colombian blowout. The Colombian blowout. Sienna is our news girl. She is 25 years old. And she's having her baby shower this weekend, right? I am. That's right. Baby's on the way. Yeah, she really, really is. I wonder if she's going to be here early or if she's going to be right on the date. I don't know. I just hope she's not late. Yeah. My luck she will be. You know what I hope? What? That your water doesn't break while we're on the air. I hope it does so you can clean it up. I will leave. I'll shoot through that roof. Can you imagine? I don't think it will. Jay will deal with me. Jay can actually deliver the child. Yeah, of course. I'm sure he's done that. I'll be like, Jay, okay, you need to take me to the hospital. He'll be. Hospital, small hospital. Yeah, we'll do it right here. Just kick your legs up. You're two centimeters. I just need you to relax. Breathe, baby, breathe. Jay is our producer. He's 47. And he's in the other room, separated by glass. Who's our phone screener today?
Chris is in. All right. Chris is in. And we are ready to rock. Steinbrenner. That's a big story today. George Steinbrenner died yesterday at 80 years old. And last night was the All-Star game. They honored him at the All-Star game. I was absolutely shocked because what did I say yesterday? And I almost made a bold, like, bet. Oh, yeah. Told you. I mean, I was going to do something crazy because that's how sure I was about the result of the All-Star game yesterday. Was it kind of like when you put our studio on the line? Made that bet? Made that bet. We'll have to pay off today. Yeah, we're paying off a bet this morning because of my big mouth. I almost forgot about that. I forgot about that until you said that. Until you said bet, I was like, is he referencing the studio bet? No, man. We all have to fit in Jay's hot little studio at 8 o'clock. Farty studio.
Yeah, I'm getting it going in here for you guys. Two microphones. Two microphones for four people, and it's a quarter of the size of this room. Oh, my gosh. Perfect. Lauren's claustrophobic. I'm pregnant and hotter than hell. My brain probably stinks. Mikey's breath probably smells like eggs. Mine smells like Copenhagen. You know what? I don't need a mic. I'll just answer phones while we're in there. I'll just hang out in here. Let's see. We'll go to the bathroom. Yeah. So, yeah, the George Steinbrenner. Did you watch it last night? The All-Star? The intro and stuff and all the stuff they did for him? I didn't see it at the very beginning, no. Yeah, it was pretty cool. How did they pay homage to him in the beginning? Well, they, you know, I caught, when I turned it on, they were talking to Jeter about it. And Jeter said something. Jeter said, you know, I've known him since I was 18. Yeah, he's an owner, but he was a friend. And Jeter's 35 years old. He's known him forever. It's the only guy he's ever played for. He's half his life. Half his life. And he's played under George. And, man, one of the things, you hear so many different points of view about that guy. But I got to tell you, man, RM1s and my friends, some of them aren't Yankee fans. I am. But they were all super classy yesterday. They all realized what he meant to the game. They all wrote me messages. It was funny. Like, I knew the guy. They all wrote me messages.
50 texts yesterday. Sorry, man. Sorry, man. Sorry, man. Yeah. It was a rough day. That's sad. That's very sad. He did a lot for the game, and he did a lot for the people in New York. Very charitable. I don't like to lose. I don't like to lose for New York. I don't like to use for Yankee fans. I just don't like to lose. I'm not a good loser. Show me a good loser, and I'll show you a loser. That a boy. That's Steinbrenner. I love that. That's the attitude he took into the game. That's it. This is... Derek Jeter talking about him. Shocked, to say the least. I don't really know if you can put it into words. It's not like he was sick, right? He was sick. He was? The last public appearance he made was the 2008 All-Star Game in New York. Or seven. Don't quote me. Really? Yeah, he was very... He'd been ill for a while. And, you know, it was time. He's got a little old. Yeah. Sad, but... You know, you're just shocked. You know what? The thing is, is I have a great relationship with the boss. I've known him since I was 18 years old. That's what they call him, right? You know, we obviously there's a respect factor because he's the owner and, you know, I work for him. But we are more friends than anything. I go visit him in the offseason because we both live in Tampa. We have bets on Ohio State, Michigan football games. I've been in trouble a couple of times.
And we filmed commercials with him dancing. So it's tough because he's more than just an owner to me. You know, he's a friend of mine, and he'll be deeply missed. I wouldn't want to be in trouble with Steinbrenner. Oh, no, man. I think that that would be bad. All the Yankees had the armbands on last night, the black armband, which was pretty solid. How many times did he fire Billy Martin? Five. Five? Then rehire. He'd fire him, then rehire him. Fire him, then rehire him. That's amazing, dude. Fire him, then rehire him. When I became a Yankee fan in, like, 85, I was 10. Yeah. And that's when it was just garbage. I mean, the team was terrible. They lost, you know, 100 games a year. They were awful. Yeah. And it was every year it was a new manager. You know, we had the worst stinking ball club, and that's when we lived in Connecticut. So my dad and I would go to games up there and just watch literally the worst product on the field that you could ever imagine. Yeah. And then it just started to slowly change, and then they turned into who they are.
Now, Billy Martin, when he fired him and rehired him, that happened in the 70s, right? Because one thing that I remember was when I was seven years old, my oldest brother, Mark, took me to a convention. It was the first time that I ever saw a celebrity. My brother didn't like the TV show Star Trek. But when you grow up in Yuma, Arizona, there's not a lot of celebrities that come to town. But the guy that played Scotty on Star Trek came to town and he was speaking. took me six, seven years old to go see Scotty from Star Trek. Did you like him? No, but I thought it was the coolest thing in the world because this guy was on television. During this time was the period where on the news, the big deal was that George Steinbrenner used to fire Billy Martin all the time and hire him back. And so it came time for Scotty to do question and answer with the audience. And so at five, six or seven years old, I don't remember, I raised my hand.
And my brother leaned down and said, what do you want to say? Too late. And I said, I'll tell him. That's the cutest thing. Don't worry about it, Mark. And Mark said, you need to tell me what you're saying. And I said, I'm going to ask him if he has been fired and then hired back again and fired and hired back again. Oh, my God. And Mark said. you can't ask that. And so I didn't. That would be adorable though. That would have been great. He would have been like, who are you talking about, kid? If Mark had not told me not to, that was my question. And you know they would have called on you too. Oh yeah, little kid. Little kid wanting to ask a question? Oh, done. No, I've never been fired and then hired back again. Great question. Anyone else got anything? Oh, Scotty.
The All-Star game was actually pretty cool. Some girl from Glee sang the national anthem. Did you see any of it, Sienna? I did. I thought she sang it really good, did you? Yeah. Listen, it's the national anthem, but I thought it sounded really pretty when she sang it. Kid might have teared up. To honor America with the singing of our national anthem. Yesterday we talked about, is there anything better than? Anything better than... Joe Buck's voice. Gosh darn, he's got a cool, smooth as silk, that dude. It says football and October baseball to me, man. And now for the... Man, cool voice. Please welcome once again, Amber Riley. This chick is on Glee. Oh, say can you see by the dawn... Is she hitting some sharp notes for you, L.O.B.? Slightly sharp. Yeah? Slightly. What does the word or mean? Over.
Over? Yeah. Let me just say over. It doesn't fit. Over. You take the V out and replace it with an apostrophe. Yep. Or... We should use that more. That sounds good to me. It just seems really easy for her, you know? I'm like, why? It's not fair. It's not fair? Yeah. It doesn't happen every time for me. I'll be honest with you. Yeah. I could lie, and I could say, oh, every time. It doesn't happen every time for me. But sometimes I get really emotional when I listen to the national anthem because I think about our country. I don't do it every time. A lot of times it's just a process and I listen to it and I'm like thinking about the game or thinking about my own life or thinking about what I have going on. But sometimes I hear it and I'm like...
That's really beautiful, and that's all about our country, and that's really cool, and I get all patriotic and stuff. Was yesterday one of those times? No. Yeah, it was for me. It is as I'm listening back to it. Is that why you wore red, white, and blue today? Yeah, it is. That's why I dressed like a picnic. As I was watching it, I'm such a girl. I was like, oh, look, she got her nails done for this. She did. I would have, too, like thinking that. I get all jacked up like, yeah, I'm a freaking American. It feels good to be an American. Oh, whoa. Okay, well, then. Didn't get me on there. You know what gets me? The flyover. Flyover's real good. I'm like. Amazing. It's pretty good. You know what got me this year? I didn't watch the fireworks.
In person, I watched them on TV. Yeah. Over, I guess it was called the Capitol fireworks or something like that. I don't know. Yeah. But the song, and I'm proud to be an American. That one never got me and never will. That one will not get me. It's, uh, that one, it seemed like the guy that sings it is something Lee, Lee, Lee something. I don't know. Lee Greenwood. Lee Greenwood. And, uh. I always felt like when I heard it, I was like, are you trying to sneak up behind me and go boo? Really? Yeah. Well, I think Darius Rucker, is that his name from Hootie and the Blowfish? Yeah. Yeah, he was singing it. It got me. I love Darius Rucker. Yeah. He's a country singer now. He is? Really? Yeah. Yep. He looks good. Yeah. He's a great country singer, too. Sure you thought he did. Ha! Brother. He is. So, I thought I would play you the moment of silence, but what's the point? We can reenact it. You can hear people screaming in it. We can reenact it. Oh, I know. Did you guys notice it? It bothered me. It wasn't some, it was a few. A few people that have to scream during it. Stupid. Tonight, as we celebrate the spirit of philanthropy, we pause to remember the life and legacy of one of baseball's most iconic figures, the boss, George Steinbrenner, who passed away this morning at the age of 80.
His unbridled passion for family, charity, and winning with his beloved New York Yankees, including seven World Series championships, mark the cornerstone of a great American life. In his memory, please join us for a moment of silence. Really? Idiot! Idiot. Be quiet! What did he say? No silences, a-hole. Should I have another beer, bro? Yeah. Thank you. If you were sitting there at the stadium and one of those jabronis was sitting next to you, wouldn't you nudge them and be like, shut up? Sure they did. I'd go, listen, my dad didn't necessarily throw the ball around with me either. But that doesn't mean that I need the attention so badly that we're going to ruin a moment of silence. I know. I was watching that game last night and I'm like, hmm, that's an hour from my house.
And I'm here. That makes a lot of sense. What if you just walked into the stadium like you were late? You come running in and you're like, hey, who's going on? Oh, my bad. The moment of silence. I didn't hear that. Yeah, it really bummed me out. I was like, that's one hour from my home. Fears are on sale. Oh, no. 570-1949-949-mikey at gmail.com if you want to give us a call. Yesterday at this time, we found out that Sienna... did not necessarily know state abbreviations. Are we really picking this up right now? She has one flaw. It's not that big a deal. I have a few flaws, but you guys, really? Are we doing this? Yesterday there was a news story. I hate you guys sometimes. Yesterday there was a news story, and it was like the best places to live in America, and there were some abbreviations on there for the states, and maybe I didn't know a few of them.
Now. Maybe I didn't. I'm going to give you the letters. I'm going to give you the letters. And you're going to give me the state. Out of 10. All right. Are you ready? Okay. D-E. Delaware. That is correct. One for one. Georgia. No, you're not supposed to do it like that. Okay, I'm going to guess. I'm going to guess. Go ahead. Yeah. G-A. That is correct. Thank you. That really freaked me out. I was like, oh, that's harder. L-A. No. Louisiana. Yes. Oh, my God. Okay, I'm doing better. M.S. Mississippi? Yes. Wow. Oh, my God. Four. Four for four. N. Oh. New England? No. Seattle. Nebraska. All right. It's the first wrong one. New England's not a state. I know. I know. I know. It's great. Rhode Island. R.I.? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I know. I'm screwing it up. Wow.
Sorry. She got it right. Okay. Five out of six. That's not bad. Woods gave me this thing and he goes, hey, Cubs. Just to remind you. He goes, just to remind you, I put the state's name first and the abbreviations after. Will you get that? I'm like, of course. I got this. The ones that I don't know are the ones that like Indiana or whatever I didn't get because then there's like Iowa and they go together. We'll get to them. Oh, no. Five of six right now. Okay. W-I. Wisconsin. Oh, my God. Look at her. M-T. Montana? Yes. Yes! I immediately think so. Cities. W-A. Washington. Oh, my God. Look at her. M-O. No way. Didn't you say it? No. I thought it was Montana. That's M-N. Oh. M-O. That's M-T. Oh, I'm sorry. M-T. Missouri? That is great. Yeah! Yeah! Nine out of ten. That's a 90%. That is an A. You guys, I thought I was not going to get one. You got an A. You got an A. What were the ones you quizzed me? They're so mean. After the show, they're like, Siona, Siona, what's AK? And I'm like, Arkansas. They're like, no, Alaska. Now, might there have been a chance that you went home and did a little research last night? No, I promise. Just kidding. Good job. I promise. When we come back.
Swear on my baby. There you go. Wait until I tell you about what's washing up and showing up on San Diego beaches. It is. We'll tell you what it is next. You're listening to The Mikey Show. Never heard of this in my life. It's rare. Be of great interest to L.O.B., by the way. Are you ready, Woods? Yeah. Black jellyfish. That's a shark. John's music. Is that a shark? Well, throughout the entire 1900s, there was only a handful of sightings of black jellyfish. In the 1900s? Mm-hmm. Doesn't that seem like a really long time ago? Yeah.
It does. But throughout all of the 1900s, they only saw a few of these things. Really? So they're rare. And now they have seen about a dozen wash up at Shelter Island. Gross. Shelter Island? Yeah. Shelter Island is like Point Loma over there. And they just washed up on the beach? Yes. They're floating around in there, and they're dangerous. Some of them are, the average one is about the size of a lid of a trash can. Oh, my God. The average one is? They can exceed three feet in diameter, and their tentacles can stretch 25 feet. Holy crap. I know. Maybe I take up mountain biking. They sting you? Of course. Never been stung by a jellyfish. Oh, it's terrifying. I'll talk about it. Since you guys have told me the story of the stingrays and how you're supposed to shuffle your feet when you walk in the water, I freak out every time. Better safe than sorry. But I freak out every time I'm in the water now. It's awful. I hate it. No, in August and September, you have to shuffle constantly. The warmer the water gets, the more they're going to come. Really? Yes. They are all over the place in August. Great.
Black jellyfish. Enjoy. Have fun with that. It's coming up in just a moment. Well, the drought is over. The National League came out and won last night. Three to one. I cannot believe it. I can, dude, because I watched those guys pitch. It was the filthiest. Last night, I saw some of the filthiest pitchers I've ever seen. It seemed like every guy that was in the game. Through upper 90s. And I mean 97, 98. Well, with all those Yankees on the American League and the death of George Steinberg, I'm like, oh, they're going to go out at heavy hearts and they're going to be, let's win one for George and all that stuff. I honestly, I thought there is no chance. Yeah. The National League has no chance with that kind of emotion. It was, you know, I got to say, man, I love the All-Star game. I was kind of like, meh.
Really? I was kind of bored, dude. I want to see some sticks last night, man. With that quality of pitching, man, it was crazy. Phil Hughes, actually, he's a Yankee pitcher. He took the loss. He gave up two singles. They pulled him. Then they brought in Matt Thornton from the White Sox. He gave up a hit to Brian McCann. He walked a guy, then gave up a hit to Brian McCann with the bases loaded. That's all they needed, man. They were filthy last night. But the two Padres that were in the All-Star game were Heath Bell and Adrian Gonzalez. Heath came in for one batter. Got him out. Had a runner on. So he did a good job. Nice. And then Agon came up. He was 0 for 2. Hit the ball hard a couple times. Actually broke his bat. But, you know, nothing really to write home about for either of my bunches today. But now the National League has home field advantage during the World Series. Absolutely. Matt Capps from the Washington Nationals, of all people, got the win last night. And here is the National League manager, Charlie Manuel. Cut one. When you get down to it, it was a pigeon. I mean, that's what helped up at the end. and we did make some mistakes on defense, but at the same time, they didn't take advantage of it, and usually that's when you win games. We happened to get the right hit at the right time, and our pitchers got them out at the right time, and that's what it was all about. That's right. Yeah, and the MVP was Brian McCann. He's the catcher for the Atlanta Braves. Here he is talking about how special it was. It felt great. I mean, this is something you dream about. I mean, to be in a situation like that, just to be in the game, I mean, to share a locker room with these guys, I mean, it's,
As a kid, this is what you dream about when you play baseball. It's a moment I'll never forget. Tonight, I was lucky enough to be in a situation to come through. As a kid, I dreamt about peanut butter jelly sandwiches. I dreamt exactly what he dreamt. George Steinbrenner, as we said, passed away yesterday at 80. He had some pretty weird relationships in his life with a lot of his players. One of which was a San Diego Padre, Dave Winfield. Greatest Yankees ever. Basically what happened was George paid him a lot of money to leave San Diego, which he did to a lot of players. Dave came, didn't really live up to expectations as far as when they got to the World Series. Didn't do anything. George started calling him Mr. May. They used to call Reggie Mr. October. Right. They called him Mr. May. And so they had this really strained relationship. Why Mr. May? Because he only produced in May. It's spring training, basically. Beginning of the year. So George actually called him Mr. May. And, you know, there was an interesting story. George actually paid. This is wild. George paid this gentleman. What is his name? What is his name? I cannot remember. He paid him $40,000 to dig up some dirt on Dave Winfield. Are you kidding me? I'm not kidding, man. So they had this really tenuous, really strained relationship.
They made peace. The olive branch was extended years ago, and they're all good. Here's Dave Winfield on George Cut 3. He resurrected that ball club, and he did it in a fashion that everyone didn't agree with. And it wasn't good for everybody. It wasn't good for players, managers, media, a lot of people. But when it's all said and done, and you look back in history, he'll go down as one of the greatest owners. professional sports history. That's cool. He still had nice stuff to say about them all. They went 10 full years. The guy's name was Howard Spira that he paid. $40,000 to dig up some dirt on Winfield. They didn't really have a really good working relationship, but 10 years went by without a word, and towards the end of George's life, they made it right. So that's a good thing. And then also yesterday, Lawrence Taylor was in court. He pled. Not guilty. to rape and other charges. He's free on $75,000 bail. Here is his attorney, Arthur Adalia, cut four. A plea bargain is always in the realm of possibilities. We're not ruling anything out. There is no plea bargain. There is no offer. The track that we're going on is we're heading in the direction of a trial.
Yeah, I don't think that there's a plea bargain being offered because I think the prosecution probably has a pretty strong case. Absolutely. They're saying he'll be on trial early in 2011. So LT has that look to look forward to. And then finally, I'm not really sure why this clip makes me mad, but I know it does. And just another reason not to like Rush Limbaugh. This is Rush Limbaugh on George Steinbrenner. Cut five. George Steinbrenner. has passed away at age 80. That cracker made a lot of African-American millionaires. Wow. I'm going to pause it there. Yeah. I mean, listen, I'm a conservative. I'm a Republican. That sounds crazy. Crazy. That sounds crazy. I don't even, like, if we just stop it there, I don't get it in terms of like, so Rush, is it sarcasm? Are you being... Clever? Funny? What is that? He's just trying to get out, like have people talk about him today. I know, but I want the explanation. It's a shock factor. And the funny thing is, as you listen to the audio progress, you kind of see a point where he realizes, wow, did I just say that? Says something similar and then starts to stammer and stutter. Check this out. George Steinbrenner, the classic capitalist. Everybody around him became wealthy.
And like most successful capitalists, he made the people around him wealthy and a lot of African-American millionaires along the way. And at the same time, he fired a bunch of white guys. What is your point? No, there's no point. I guarantee there was someone like his producer looking at him. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Well, he's trying. I mean, in his head, if he's not saying it, he's got a point. He's not. Maybe he's not saying it. He's not saying his point. Sounds like what his point is. Hey, quit crying, black people. He paid you a whole lot of money, didn't he? He made a whole lot of millionaires out of you black people, didn't he? That's what it sounds like. Which is, where does that stem from? Yeah, what's that countering? Yeah. Like, was there somebody that made an opposite point of view that he's just trying to get this out there? As managers, left and right. I tell you what, Steinbrenner hasn't been himself for the past two or three years. But nevertheless, what a man he was and what a feature and a character he was in Major League Baseball. Why is calling someone a cracker even in his vocabulary? How is that a slip of the tongue? That cracker? Really? That cracker? But he's older.
I don't know. Maybe that was used. Cracker. It's a derogatory term for a white person. Oh, I didn't even know that. Oh. I thought it was like a jokester. No. It's a derogatory term. It's like the N-word for white people. That's what it's supposed to be. Oh. Yeah. And so you have to ask yourself, well, what's your point? What point are you making, Rush? Yeah, I mean, what a fine tribute to a guy that's done a lot for the city of New York. I mean, that's how he's going to... bid him adieu. You know what I mean? It's ridiculous. That cracker. His commentary is, hey, black people, he sure did make a lot of money for you, didn't he? Yeah. He paid a lot of money to you black people, didn't he? That's crazy. And he fired white people to do so. Right. So just quit complaining. Quit crying. It's like almost like... Yeah, kind of the entire planet Earth is going, we weren't. We weren't complaining. But, yeah, I saw that this morning and I was blown away, needless to say. That's a creepy clip. It's really creepy. I didn't like it. And it's one more reason why I don't like that pig. Oh, wow. Yeah, there you go. How do you really feel? The panel is where we go with new and interesting topics. Oh, wait a minute. Wait a minute. Before I do. M1 Chris from Escondido, you there? Yeah, Mikey. How you doing this morning? Good. Can you help?
Put a point on what Rush was saying? Kind of. Basically, I don't know, I think you guys covered a little bit. There's all these Black Panther trials and all that stuff that's been going on lately. There's been lots of clips out there of this guy saying that they need to go out and kill all the cracker babies and, you know, just kind of this whole racial thing. And then, you know, the Tea Party's been getting called, you know, racist and all that kind of stuff lately. So I think he was just trying to, I think he was being, you know, kind of silly. Yeah, I think that there's probably a lot of context that we're missing. Yeah, like, was his story before that maybe about the NAACP? Yeah, right now the Black Panthers are in the news a lot. And the reason that they are is because, if I understand correctly, there was a Black Panther standing in the way of voters. Don't know where. There was a Black Panther standing in the way of voters. Chris, do you know if that's right? Yeah. Got it. Thank you for the call. Thank you. M1 Tracy in El Cajon? Yeah, I was just calling to basically tell the same thing. It was because of the statement of the head of the Black Panthers that calling, you know, crackers and saying they need to kill cracker babies and crazy stuff. Now,
I wonder what Rush's point was in sort of tying that together with Steinbrenner and more specifically tying it together with Steinbrenner in terms of making black people rich. Yeah. Yeah. You know, black athletes. Other than he's trying to make the point that, you know, white capitalists aren't all bad. Oh, I see. I see. In other words, if the Black Panthers point is, oh, all you white people, all you do is get rich for yourselves and make white rich people and make a bunch of other white people rich. If that's the point of if that's the point of blacks, Rush is trying to say, well, you know what? He sure did make a lot of money for black athletes. Rush is an idiot. Yeah, I agree more defending his. But taken out of context, it might be a little more incendiary. That makes sense. The whole thing is just pointless. It's so pointless and unnecessary and stupid. It's stupid. But maybe, you know, it wasn't just one of those blurted out. It came on the heels of him talking about the whole tea party thing and the reactions to it. Doesn't that seem a little bit immature, sophomoric? It still is, but it makes more sense. Well, look at this cracker. You know what I mean? Look what he did for all you people. You know, it's...
It seems a little bit sophomoric to me. Especially five minutes after somebody died. Right. Right. And don't use a derogatory term to make your point. Just because somebody else did. Yeah. Right. 570-1949 is the number. So the panel is what's happening in the news today. It's the big stories of what's happening in the news today. And we'll do like they do on PTI or Around the Horn. We will go to Woodsy, L-O-B, and myself and hear about these stories and see what we think about them. First of all, Tori Spelling. She and her husband, Dean McDermott, have put their little three-year-old son, Liam, on Twitter. They post his best one-liners. And as most of us know, little kids have some pretty good one-liners. One of them was, Mama, the moon ate the sun and made it dark. Will he burp him up tomorrow so it'll be a nice day? But just the thought of a three-year-old on Twitter. Now, is he on Twitter? Does he have his own Twitter account? Or are they posting funny little things? At Liam's World. He has his own account. That they write for him. Yeah, he doesn't write it. He's three. He's not typing. I don't have a problem with it, dude. I really don't. You know, I see it on Facebook all the time. People saying the funny things that their kid says. It's not really exploiting their kids, I don't think. Lauren? I was kind of thinking along the same lines of words. I see it all the time on Facebook. Listen to what my son said today.
But I don't think they needed to go so far as to create an actual individual page for the kid. I don't know. It's a little bit of an exploitation. I can tell you unequivocally that there are very few times that my son says things that I think are cute that other people really think are as cute as I think they are. In fact, before I had a kid. Every time I read somebody or heard somebody telling me about the cute thing their kid said, I always went, I must have had to be there. Wow. I'm just being honest with you. I must have had to be there. Now that I have a kid, I think things that Jake says are really, really cute. But I don't tell anybody because I have a fear that they're going to go. That's great. That's so cute. You don't think some of them have got to be so over the top that you have to tell, though? Every once in a while, and I mean every once in a while, I will hear on television somebody tell a story about something that their kid said. And every once in a while, it'll really get me. And I'll go, that is quite extraordinary. Kids say the darndest things. They do. There's an old saying, though, Mike. Nobody wants to hear about your kids or your fantasy football team.
That's an old saying. Yeah, it's an old saying. Is it? It's an old Irish saying. My great-great-grandfather used to say that. All the time. Sounds like a proverb. Nobody wants to hear about your kid or your fantasy football team. Do you know fantasy football team guy? Yeah. You probably are that guy, aren't you? Yeah, well, I like fantasy football, but... You don't like to tell everybody about your team and who you got starting? No, not necessarily. I know a million people like that. See, if I'm in the bar and someone that I have on my fantasy football team, like... does something and I cheer. I'm like, he's on the fantasy team. Same bit. So I don't know if I would necessarily follow that. Now I want to know. Now I'm going to go to Twitter and I'm going to follow Liam. What is it? At Liam's World. Yeah, I am. I want to see. And then I might delete it after one day. Do you want to know another saying he said? Yeah. I love making Jell-O castles. Jell-O wiggles and parties in my tummy. That doesn't humor me. It almost sounds fake to me. It almost sounds like they're making it up. Everything he says has to stay under 140 characters. It sounds fake. That's not cute to me. He already has over 16,000 followers that he racked up on his first day. Oh, wow. All right. Up next, Miss Cougar Del Mar.
The second annual Miss Cougar Del Mar contest is underway. Now, this is so great. Oh, no. Last year's winner was Rosie Goldstein, who is from Tirasana. And basically what it is is you submit a photo and a short bio between now and July 23rd. This year's voting starts on Wednesday, today, on the Internet. Rosie is a rather older name, isn't it? Hello, Michael. Hello. Yes, hello. I'm Rosie Goldstein. Voting starts today, ends July 28th, and the finalists will be announced then. And you can win a bunch of stuff if you're Miss Cougar Del Mar 2010. You get... a day at the Del Mar package valued at $500, a table and a clubhouse admission for four, as well as VIP concert tickets to the paddock tour. And you also get a trophy and everything. And what they say is, calling all mature women who pursue younger men. Wow. You know. Wow. And they do this to help kick off the Cougar, the second Cougar handicap race on July 30th. What's the website? Do you know? Creepy. Let's see. Let's see. I want to go vote. I know. I'll find out. I think it's, you know.
Whatever. I think it's okay. It doesn't bother me. I think it's pretty funny, actually. Wouldn't actually, if they had a live pageant, wouldn't mind throwing my hat in the ring to be a judge. L.O.B. I think it's fun. Why not? I mean, if everybody's into it and you're not hurting anybody, it's fun. I like it. If an older guy likes a bunch of younger girls, he's a creep. I knew it. He is. And so I would say, yeah, I think that the creeps. at the Del Mar contest are kind of creeps. Creeps? I knew you were going to play that card. Hey, listen, in the spirit of fairness, if a 55-year-old guy is out there trying to slay 22-year-olds, he's a freaking pervert. Dirty old man. He's a pervert and a creep. So, hey, ladies, I'm sorry, creeps, have your creep contest, but guess what? You're a perverted creep. No. Because that's what we'd say about a dude that was doing the same. Is that what you would call Sienna's husband? No, I wouldn't. I'm saying if we're going to make the same point, You've got to make the same point. I don't think it's... But they're married. If that's the deal... He's got a few years on me. You know what I mean? What's the point? The point of it is, is if you're an old dude that's trying to go out and just have sex with a bunch of young girls, you're a creep. Absolutely. That's what we call you. If you are interested.
It says pursues. It doesn't say anything like slang. Okay, you can submit your photo and description to missmisscougar at dmtc.com. I'll put all this on my blog today if you want to check it out. And guys, I know you're going to want to view the submissions. You can do that at www.delmarscene.com. I mean, basically every celebrity man does that. Why not give a chance for a woman to think, hey, still got it. Woods just wrote those addresses down, by the way. 100%. So they're saying that duct tape could be the cure for the iPhone 4 reception problem. We've all heard about the aluminum on the outside, which causes bad signal. Aluminum. Aluminum. And apparently the cure is, consumer reports are saying, that iPhone 4 users should put a piece of duct tape on the device. And it is 100% fixed. What? Nothing like spending $400 on a new phone and having to fix it with a piece of duct tape. Maybe wait till it's fixed, pal, before you go out and drop your hard-earned cash on it. L-O-B? Maybe Apple fixes its phones so people don't have to go pack duct tape to fix their $600 phones. Okay, listen. Defender of the Apple, Michael Esposa. I will defend it by saying that if you put a bumper on it, you're fine. Bumper is...
What you put on it to protect it. Yeah. That's how you protect your phone. You put a little rubber thing around it. You do that, you're fine. Now, some people, like me, I don't have a bumper on my phone. I carry it just normal. I do, too. So if I decided to do that with the new one, I'd be kind of screwed, right? Maybe it would come with a bumper if it needed a bumper. Are you sure? She's got a point. Are you sure that the bumper fixes it, though? Yeah, the bumper fixes it. Okay, because they're, like, specifically saying silver duct tape. Oh, yeah, it will. Right. It does the same thing a bumper will do. It's more cost efficient. Yeah. They're saying, hey, listen, if you don't want to go out and spend some money on a bumper, just stick some duct tape. Maybe stick a twig in there, too. Maybe Apple makes those bumpers and then make a little extra coin. Just so you know. They do. I mean, they do. You can get one. Most people put a bumper on their phone because they don't want to get their phone scratched or whatever. Sienna and I both carry our iPhones without a bumper. We're weird, though. Most people put the bumpers on. Cars come with bumpers. You don't have to go get them and install them yourself, right? She's right. She's right. I can't do that now. What if you had to buy a steering wheel for your car? You buy a car and you're like, I really want that steering wheel. It's even worse. It's even worse than that, though. It's even worse. What it's like saying is you buy a car.
You buy a brand new car, not only a car, but a car that's highly talked about and that everybody is saying is the coolest car around, right? And one of the most expensive cars around. Right, yeah. If not the most. If not the most. But the way that you start the car is that you have to get, not a bumper. Duct tape. No, no, no. Not a bumper. The way that you start the car is that you have to take a piece of duct tape and wrap it around the steering wheel. Oh, my God. Things that wrap around their steering wheel because they're comfortable to hold on to. Now you either have to buy one of those or you got to put duct tape around your steering wheel in order for the car to start. I understand how this would upset some people. And just so you know, there are people that are asking for a recall of the iPhone 4. Would you like to know how much it's going to cost Apple if that happens? How much? A billion and a half dollars. A billion and a half. The iPhone 4, they've said, is the most successful product launch in Apple's history. This phone, the Apple 4. Well, I can tell you this. I ordered one last week, and they said it could take up to five to ten days to get, right? And they said when it's ready, you'll get an email. You can pick it up at the store. Well, I haven't gotten any email. You know why I think I haven't gotten an email? Because it's broken. I think that Apple may be going.
Maybe we don't sell these until we're... Mm-hmm. Right? Yeah. Think about that. Maybe you should have just waited to put it out until it was ready to go. Yeah, exactly. Maybe do a little test run. They thought it was. Maybe do a little test run. How much time would it have taken to figure it out that, hey, it doesn't work that well? I mean, that's the thing I was thinking. Can you hear me now? Don't they have people that use these things before they release them? Yeah, product testers maybe? Yeah, test them out to see if they work. Beta versions. What about the two chicks that got into a fight on Fox News? Started yelling at each other? No, but I want to. Yeah, I got audio. It's called The View. Oh, new Mel Gibson audio? Yeah, a third set. The end of the trilogy. Is it the end of the trilogy? I don't know. Once a day for the next month. Yeah, be like Rocky 7. Audio next. Be heard on The Mikey Show now. We're going to a nice place downtown La Jolla on Prospect. And Jay. Howdy ho, neighbor. On FM 94.9. Number one alternative song in the country is the Black Keys. Song is called Brothers. Welcome to the Mikey Show. I am the host of the program. My name is Mikey. Woodsy is our sports guy. Lauren is our assistant producer. Sienna. Sienna is our news girl. Dave Matthews will be crawling out from under the board. He's been under our board for a long time. We haven't heard from Dave for a while. So we'll be talking to Dave tomorrow at this time. My son Luke is on the line. He's 11 months old now. Hi, Luke. Oh, wait a minute. I can't hear Luke for some reason. Luke? I hit the line. Luke? I have the line. I could... Nope. I don't know what's going on. Maybe he's too young to be using the phone. Yeah. Maybe. Have mama help you. Luke, figure the phone out. 570-1949. Our phones in here have been a little screwy. I'm still dialing them in. For a while. Yeah, it's a power issue, but we're getting it corrected. Cool. If you want to text us, 949mikey at gmail.com is the way to text us. Kelly, Megan Kelly and Kristen Powers. Fox News.
Apparently they got into it. You're going to be hearing the audio of that in just a moment. Let's see if this is working now. Hello? There you are. Oh, it wasn't my fault. Okay. That's my son, Luke. He's 11 months old. He's irritated. What's the matter? Why are you so upset? You're only 11 months old. You don't have anything to be upset about. Did you watch that game last night? A little bit. Yeah, I know you did because your bulbous head was in my way the whole time. Luke, don't talk to your dad. Yeah, you know what? You want to know something, Sienna? He doesn't talk. He doesn't speak English when I'm there. When I'm there, he just babbles. It's his dada. Maybe I get a flat screen for my crib. Literally his crib. First of all, you're 11 months old. Second of all, if I was going to get a flat screen, it wouldn't just be for you. It would be for your twin brother, Ryan, too. Who's that?
Ryan is your brother. Your twin brother, Ryan. Do you mean Jake? No, I don't mean Jake. I mean your twin, Ryan. Oh, that other dude in my room. Yes, the other dude. The guy that cries all the time? Keeps me awake? Steals my cigarettes? You know, you cry too. Do I? Yeah, you do. Do I? Yes, you do, Luke. You do cry. I don't cry. You cry. I don't cry, Luke. You cry. You cry. Luke? You're going to get me a flat screen? No, I'm not going to get you a flat screen because that's ridiculous. You're 11 months old. That's stupid. You have one. I know I do. I'm an adult. I'm an adult person. Adults have flat screens, not 11-month-old babies. Hey, were you in my office this morning? It's not your office. I can't put my iPad either. It's not your iPad. It's not your office. I've got to chat with Katie, and I can't find the freaking thing anywhere. So maybe don't grab my stuff. Who is Katie? It's my girlfriend. You don't have a girlfriend. She's one of many, Sienna. You are wearing diapers right now, Luke. Yeah, and on the screen it says on the phone, Luke, angry baby. Yeah, they're diapers, but they're Louis Vuitton, so don't worry about it. Hang up the phone and don't call back. What time are you getting off? I get off at the same time. You ask every time. What time do I get off? What time? I get off at 10. Bring me something to eat. Wow.
Bring me something to eat. If I brought him something to eat, he couldn't eat it. All he can eat is soft food. What are you going to do when that guy gets to high school? I have no idea. He's out of control. Military. Yeah, military school. It's the only thing I can think of. Louis Vuitton diapers. Louis Vuitton diapers. Maybe don't worry about it, he said. What are you doing buying him Louis Vuitton diapers? I'm not. He made it up. Sure he did. Megan Kelly, who is an anchor on Fox News, was having a very civil conversation with Kirsten Powers over exactly what we were talking about just a little bit ago. This whole thing that has to do with the Black Panthers. And they got into it. That's the thing. I mean, we have a DOJ whistleblower who is alleging that there is a discriminatory policy in effect right now at the DOJ voting rights section, and no one seems to give a darn, Kirsten, including Congressman Sherman. Well, you, I mean, I'm sorry, you can actually put me in the same category of people who don't really give a darn, because I looked at the video.
The guy wasn't really intimidating people. They were walking past him and voting. So I don't really understand how he's being intimidated. Second of all, with respect, you don't seem to know what you're talking about. Well, I think I do, Megan. Well, I don't think you do, because I have read the testimony that was given before the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. The Department of Justice got an injunction against him. What do you want him to do? Have you read the testimony? I talked to the Department of Justice at length about this. They got an injunction against the guy. Have you read the testimony that was given to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights? It doesn't matter. They got an injunction against him. No. Is that the bit now? Holy cow. I guess that's the thing. What's the thing? You've got to fight now. Do you know the bit I hate? Have you read the testimony? Have you read the testimony? Have you read the testimony? Have you read the testimony? Have you read the testimony? Have you read the testimony? Have you read the testimony? That's the bit I hate so much. Why not recreate it on there? Yes or no? Yes or no? Have you? Yes or no? Yes or no? One simple word. Listen, man, when I was growing up, you didn't see that kind of stuff because people acted like grownups. They did.
And you know what they did? They reported the news. They reported the news. That's all they did. Somebody wrote the other day, somebody put, I wish the news was just the news. Yeah. You know, the news is not the news anymore. Now it's a WWF. Yep. Come on. It's true. Dorks. 570-1949. And if you want to text us, you could do that too. It's 949mikey at gmail.com. Well, the trilogy came out. Yes. The Mel Gibson trilogy. Third set of audio released yesterday. Yeah. Oh, man. What, Woods? What? Nothing. I'm ready for this audio. Are you? Aren't I? What just happened? Nothing. Well, here's the new stuff. What? I'm just goofy today. All right. My spirits have been lifted. Today, I guess they put this thing out that he... Did some more stuff or is it new or is it part of the same deal? No, this, I mean, it's just a new set of audio. We don't know if it's all the same conversation. I mean, it's just another set of new stuff that we haven't heard before. Is it well really that dry that you have to break this up into three pieces? You know? Mel Gibson, Return of the King. Three as far as we know. Yeah. As far as we know, there's three. Tomorrow there could be four, five. It's going to be 2012. We're going to be like.
We have more Mel Gibson audio for you. Just so you know, he, Mel Gibson, has not commented yet on any of it. Yeah, he's probably waiting until he's sure that it's all out there. Yeah. Now, when I saw it this morning, I said, well, I didn't even click on it. I haven't heard it yet. But there's still an appetite for it. There's still a, oh, I want to know, you know. Here's the latest scandal. In the Mel Gibson drama. Fine. Who's he calling the wetback? No, they had a Latino woman working at both of their homes. And that's apparently what they're arguing over, this woman. Yeah. So. Wow, Mel. He made a racial comment. He used the N-word. And now he said wetbacks.
Yeah, the ex-girlfriend, Oksana Gregorieva, says that this woman, the Latina woman who works for them, she's insisting that she keep her at her house with she and her daughter. And that, you know, this is what Mel's saying about it. Yeah. Whoopi Goldberg on Mel. I don't like what he did here, but I know Mel, and I know he's not a racist. Oh, really? Yeah, I do. Hmm. They do a movie together, Whoopi and Mel? I don't think so. Because she's really been defending him. I'm sure she knows him. Yeah, she must know him. She's come out really, really strongly to defend him and say that she doesn't believe he's a racist. But how can somebody that uses that kind of language not be a racist? I don't know. I don't know. He's just not right in the head right now. Yeah, he's real messed up. Yeah, and all of this audio is coming from Radar Online, who's been releasing it, and actually it does say that a fourth clip was provided by Radar Online exclusively to Larry King Live last night. Hmm. Uh-huh. Well, I don't know. Where are you with it, Woodsy? I mean, you know, I wanted to hear it because I just wanted to hear it. I wanted to hear what it said. I think it's fascinating to me what somebody could snap so bad like that. But, you know, like I think it's going to be blow over. And I think that, you know, if he gets the help he needs, he'll be all right. Yeah, he's real messed up. He's real messed up. Yeah. You know, as a Mexican-American, I hear it and I'm like, it just sounds like the...
Ravings of a nut. Police are investigating domestic violence allegations against him, too. Are they? Yeah. Well, they have to. Maybe a little time in jail. Clear his mind. Clear his mind a little bit. Clear his head. His ex-girlfriend has said that the voice is hers and the male voice is Mel Gibson. Well, we all know it's Mel, right? Well, yeah, but there's a lot of stories you'll read. It will say the male voice, and according to the ex, it's both of them. Let's see. M1 Maiden fan from Carmel Mountain Ranch. Are you there? Yes, I am. Go ahead. Hey, about the news and cable news and regular news, most 90% of what we hear on cable news is news commentary. And pretty much they let you know that at the beginning. Each network has maybe an hour. news show that just spits out the news. And then everything else is commentary. And most of the people are lawyers. Yeah, I get what you're saying. They're confrontational. I think what we're saying is that we didn't used to have to listen to the commentary. You know what I mean? That wasn't the American appetite. It wasn't the commentary. It wasn't the appetite. We just wanted news. Tell me what's going on. Tell me how I can help.
Give me the score of the game and let me be on my way. The stakes are higher now. Yeah. The stakes are completely higher than they used to be. How so? You're talking about a power struggle within our own nation that you have one side wanting to change the landscape completely and you have another side that's refusing and doesn't want that change. So you have people spitting out bits and pieces of information. I'll tell you this. Thank you for the call, Maiden fan. I appreciate it. I'll tell you this. You've heard me talk about this before, about how culturally we keep turning it up the volume. You know, with the fighting on the news and all that stuff. Woodsy was just showing me some billboard that they put out. Where? Iowa? Iowa. And it's a billboard that is anti-Obama. And it shows a picture of Hitler. Adolf Hitler. Then Obama. Then Obama. And then who? Vladimir Lenin.
And it says something like fear and ignorance has a history. Something about how these three people have used fear and ignorance. And I'm like, how far do we raise that bar? You know what I mean? Over Hitler's picture, it says national socialism. Over Obama's picture, it says Democrat socialism. And then above Lenin's, it says Marxist socialism. And then it says radical leaders prey on the fearful and naive. Live free or die. Yeah. Now, we're going to see that and we're going to be shocked by it, right? Absolutely. Okay. But then we won't be shocked by it. And so then it will take something worse to get us to be shocked. By the way, I think that's, again, I'm conservative. I think that's ridiculous. The people that put it up, I say, you're not doing anything for the party I belong to.
You're not doing anything for me as a conservative by putting that up. Except making us look like morons. Making us look like jerks. But now the bar is higher. You got to make the bar higher. It is always getting higher. Enough. Enough. I wish there was a brake pedal on the culture right now. Yep. Slow it down. I need to slow down a little bit. I need to slow down with Lady Gaga pulling her privates out at concerts. I'm telling you, man, I've been getting just like, take it easy a minute. It's the weirdest thing, Mike, because I've been feeling the same way about just everything, man. I went, you know, and I went to I went to a baseball game and it was like, it's not the same as it was when I was a kid, man. That's like it's all about winning free tacos or something, you know, like I want to go watch the game. You know what I mean? Like, I want to see the game. I don't need all the other hoopla that goes around with it. Maybe if people showed up at the Padres games. Fair enough. They wouldn't need all the gimmicks. They wouldn't need all the hoopla. But, you know, I'm tired of the hoopla. Hey, man, I struggle between do I sound like an old man or do I actually have a point in wanting to put the brake pedal a little bit on the culture? Now, the way that you know is if you are a young person listening right now who...
sees Lady Gaga doing all her stuff and you see all the stuff in our culture and you go, you kind of roll your eyes and you go, oh, give me a break. Come on. It's just what it is, what it is, blah, blah, blah. And then when you're an adult, kids are doing some crazy thing. The new person that's in the pop does this thing where she comes out on stage and slaughters a chicken or something. And you're like, that is so filthy and awful and terrible. And the kids are going to roll their eyes at you and go, oh, my gosh. They use the chicken to eat it anyway, so what's the big deal? I mean, come on. You're so stupid, Dad. You sound like such a grandpa. Old fogey. That's what I am now, and you too. I think I may officially be an old fogey. You're a fogey. Sienna is 25, so I know that we must still fall into the fogey category. But I think you're only about 10 years away, my dear. No, and I don't think you guys are wrong. You don't? You know, I see... Lady Gaga's ridiculous. Stuff like that's ridiculous. Yeah. But as far as commenting on the news and stuff, don't we do that every day? Yeah, I mean... Like, aren't we guilty of it? Yeah, but I think that the difference is that...
people don't come to us for news, they come to us for entertainment. And so the fact that we are an entertainment show first that is presenting it in that way, well, you know that's the deal going into it. But I've always thought of something called Fox News as the news. So that's the part that drives me nuts. That's where I'm finding, you know, Mel Gibson audio now and stuff like that. Yeah, seriously. It's weird. 5701-949. When you think of all the commercial characters over the past, I don't know, 10, 15, 20 years, maybe even longer, what's the ones that drove you the most nuts? Nice. The ones that drove you the most nuts. We've got some pretty good guesses, too. And we'll also do the ding-dong sing-along. You want to do the ding-dong sing-along? Absolutely. If you think that you can sing songs, whether you're a guy or a girl, you sing a song, big hit pop songs, or maybe not, maybe they're rock. I'll stop playing the song, You Take Over, 570-1949. Pop it in and turn it on. Be a part of the Mikey Show now. Call 570-1949 or text 949-MIKEY. It's a Mikey Show. More coming up on FM 94.9.

This is Bird from Dragon Eyewear, featuring their new cinch-style sunglasses with the FM 94.9 Authentic Surf Report for a Wednesday morning. This is being brought to you, of course, by Guayaquil Yerba Mate. Today we're looking at an increase in a swell, pretty significant increases, actually, from some northwest wind swells, some southwest-southeast swell combinations. Picked it up into that knee-to-waste chest-high zone, maybe even a few pluses on top of that at the standout combination spots. Again, that's the good news. because it is pretty much crossed up and lumpy-bumpy, not looking all that clean, but it does have some size to it. So sunshine will greet you this morning as well, so those two factors make it a lot better than it has been lately. Look for the beach breaks to be your better bet for a go-out, again, due to the crossed-up combination. Reef breaks, they've got some pot-shot peaks here and there. Negative low tide at dawn this morning, hurting all areas too, so we should see some improvement throughout the morning. Light and variable winds right now as well, so what are the better days for going to surf right now?

I love sharks. And Jay. Of course, I have an outrageous story. On FM 94.9. Welcome back to The Mikey Show. Sienna, what's going on in news? Colton Harris-Moore, better known as the Barefoot Bandit, was taken to Miami yesterday. As we know, he was taken into custody in the Bahamas early Sunday. And he was, you know, they were searching for him for a string of home and airport break-ins, various U.S. locations, you know, theft of vehicles and stuff like that. So now he is going to be in federal court today. Wow. Yes. That kid is the most famous kid in the world right now. Or infamous. He has shoes on, too, last I saw. No. Yeah, he's not barefoot anymore. Also, the San Diego Wild Animal Park.
is going to be changing its name. To? To the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. Apparently, people were getting confused at the San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park. That was too confusing. Percentage of chance that people start to actually call it that. I know. Zero percent. Everyone says that, but then you do. Yeah, because we fought Qualcomm. What about the Del Mar Fair? San Diego Fair? It's a Del Mar Fair. It's a Del Mar Fair. I thought that when it was, now I can't even remember. Costco. What was Costco before? Price Club. Yeah, I said I will always call it Price Club. Really? I never knew it was called Price Club. Now it's going to be the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, and the changes will take effect next spring. I think it takes three years, personally. It takes a while. It takes three years to get on board with the new deal. What's going on in sports, Woods? Well, the National League won the All-Star Game last night and get home field advantage in the World Series for that win. They won 3-1. Matt Capps took the win. Phil Hughes took the loss. Brian McCann was your MVP. George Steinbrenner passed away, as we said yesterday. Lawrence Taylor pled not guilty to rape and other charges. His trial will begin next year. Most hated commercial characters of all time. You know, people on commercials. Hated. Yep. Jared. Oh, from Subway. Yeah, because he's identical to me. These are the Zell guy. I have the top five, and some of them you guys are going to be like, who? Dude, I want Adele. You're getting Adele, dude. You're getting Adele, dude. Is he on there?
No. He got busted for pot, by the way. He did. That's why he stopped doing it. That's why he stopped. I mean, this is a weird list, but I'm going to give you guys the number five. And it's Flo, the progressive auto insurance girl. Now, you'll see. Oh, yeah. You see her face. You know that. Oh, yeah. She's super chipper. What does she say? The guy is like, what does she say? Free. And he's like, what about this? Discount or something like that. When they were in a boardroom discussing. The idea is for a commercial. Who said, I have an idea. Why don't we put a really, really annoying redhead? I mean, bright red. I mean, not just red, like Lucy red. You know, like Ricky's going to walk in the door any second and go, Lucy. Why don't we put that on? We'll have her be really, really annoying. I thought she was doing that. No, I think she's got red hair. Yeah. I think she has brown, but. Does she? Brown, red, whatever. But, I mean, it sticks. Somebody with really brown hair. Yeah. Yeah. So she's trying to sell insurance, and the commercial, you see her with this guy, and this guy's asking questions, and she's like, discount! Yeah. Discount! Too chipper. Oh, it's so annoying. But it sticks in your head, right? Yeah. Anybody watch the All-Star game last night? See the George Takai commercial? 5,000 times? No. Is that on there? I don't even know what that means. When he looks at George Takai from Star Trek, he looks at the flat screen, and he goes, ooh! 50.
Thousand times. I was like, I started muting the commercial. Well, you know what the deal is? Is that, yeah, it sticks out in your head. I couldn't have told you what the product is. Really? I saw that Takai commercial a million times. I still can't tell you exactly what it is that you say. But you're not the average person, Mikey. This next one you'll be able to tell. Woods, do you know what the flat screen was? You guys will know the next one. Geico. Oh, yeah. It's a lizard. The gecko. I like the lizard. You do? You do? I think he's annoying. I like anybody that talks in that accent. So the gecko's number two. Flo's number one. Number three is the E-Trade baby. That's not annoying. That's funny. Shankopotamus. Got a little bit too much. Did you? With the milk and the Lindsay. Shankopotamus, dude. Shankopotamus, genius. What's that? It's one of his lines. Number four is the iPhone hand. iPhone hand? Just the person's hand that holds the iPhone. Oh. He's like, how dare you? Yeah. It's the most hated TV commercial character. Really? It's one of them. I don't even know it.
Here's a picture. Oh, wow. It's a hand holding up. It doesn't bother me. Why are people so aggro? It's a strange thing. It's a hand. And then the fifth one is Smilin' Bob. Do you know who Smilin' Bob is? Never heard of him. It says take it from Bob. It's for Enzite. Oh, yes. Yeah, for Enzite. The guy about the male erectile dysfunction guy. He's like, it's Bob. Is Enzite a product like Viagra? I think so. And Cialis? I wouldn't know. I don't think it's available anymore. I think they took it off. Took it off the market? Yeah. I don't need that stuff quite yet. Oh, wow. Don't you? Do I? Could you? You're about to turn 35, my friend. I know. Monday. You're making a call probably Tuesday morning. That's the easiest game in the world, for crying out loud. All we're going to do is we're going to play a clip of a song and abruptly stop the clip. When we abruptly stop, you have to take over. If you don't know the song, be creative. Come up with something. I don't want to hear you go, I don't know the words to this song. Don't do that. Give me something. Don't say, I can't hear it. You can hear it. We've made sure that you can hear it.
So all we need you to do is be creative. If you're creative, you're going to win. What do we got as a prize today? We have passes to the 4 o'clock Fridays at Del Mar Racetrack to see Pimpak perform Friday, July 23rd. Come on, that's good stuff. Love them. Good stuff. M1 Snowman, you there? Yeah. Snowman's from Carlsbad. He knows how the game works, right? Yep. All right, so again, be creative if you don't know the lyrics, but try to take over when the lyrics stop. Here we go. Yes. You got to work it at the YMCA. You're nice, Mike. Somebody's feeling generous this morning. I'm feeling really generous. It's just called the Y. It's not called the YMCA anymore. That's where you're supposed to take over. Man, am I being nice with you, buddy. I'm going to give it to you, snowman. I love you, Mikey. Thank you, bro. Hang on the line. All right. That's my last. I got it out of my system. Well, no, I mean. Don't you talk to him like that. When they're really creative and if he were to sing about how Mikey likes chimichangas or something, then I would say give it to him. You're right. But that was a freebie. I like YMCA. That was a freebie. Can I be honest with you? Yeah. You didn't know the next set of words. You meant to hit the buzzard. I meant to hit the buzzard. Yeah!
Mix up the buttons. You got to win. There you go. You got to win. M1 Trappo from Mission Hills. You there? Yep. All right, Trappo. I'm going to play the song. What is it? Trappo. Trappa. Trappo. Trappo. One more time. Tomato, tomato. All right, buddy. You ready? Yeah. All right. When the song stops, you start. Here we go. I hit song when Jay was in high school. All I want to do is eat chimichangas with Mikey every day because he's the best in the world today. Done. Who doesn't know that? How did he not know somewhere over there? You guys are uber generous today. Yeah. Well, he was being... Hey, wait a minute. You know, if I really think about it, how creative was he being since we just gave him that? Yeah. Those lyrics. I know. But you know what, Ta-ha? You know what, M1? You win. Hang in line. Thank you. Man, we're being nice today.
I always said that if I ever tried out for American Idol, I would sing that song. That's what you would sing? Really? Maybe you'd sing us a little tune. Maybe you'd do it, yeah. Maybe we'd have you do that sometime. Yeah, write that down on my list of topics for next week's movie. I don't sing it well at all. I just think it like... Somewhere over the rainbow. This is so pretty. What about you, Woods? If you had to sing one song, what would it be? I don't know. You don't have a go-to? I've got a go-to, but you don't know it. This is a bit. That's a bit. This is like, all of us probably have one. You don't have one, Lauren? No. You don't have one that you love to sing, like in the shower? I guarantee M1s do. Oh, yeah. Mine is Turn Around by Whiskey Town, but nobody knows that song. No. I immediately thought, turn around. Every now and then I get a little. I wish you would go for that. LLB knows that one. Yeah, she does. M1 Smurf Sack from Del Mar. Wow. What up? How you doing? Great, man. All right, dude, I have a feeling about you. I think you're going to do really good in this, man. Really? When the song stops, you start. Let's do it. Remix. If I'd have known you was coming out, I'd make you a cake. Make you a cake. Make you a cake. If I'd have known you was coming out, I'd make you a cake. Said you get high. What'd it do? What up? You like it?
He's a genius. Gorgeous. Wow. Exactly what I wanted. You know, that is. I want to do that. Let me tell you. Let me tell you. That is exactly what we're looking for, actually. That is exactly what we're looking for. I got to say, we got to save that whole clip. Yeah. Of you singing. If I'd known you were coming, I'd have baked you a cake. I was trying so hard to not laugh. Oh, my gosh. I don't actually like pen bags, so you can give them to someone else. I just wanted to play. Dude, you were good. We'll give them to somebody else. You can donate them. I told you that I would make you a pie. Holy cow. That was fantastic. That's incredible. Gorgeous. Please call every day. Please call every day. M1 Vanessa from Escondido. Good morning. Good morning. I'm still laughing at the last day. Yeah, I know. That was one of the craziest. That was one of the craziest. Tough act to follow. I've ever heard. All right. Are you ready? I am ready. When the song stops, you start. Here we go. You spin me right round, baby, right round. Go rollercoaster. That was fantastic. Very well done. Very sultry. Yeah, that was sexy. Hang on the line, Vanessa. You are a winner. And an angel. That's right. Jay is in a much better mood today. Yes, he is.
Can I tell you about yesterday, by the way? No. Yeah, real fun day yesterday. What happened? What? I don't know what you're talking about. I never know what guys are going to say. Oh, we, yesterday was a beautiful day. So pretty. We had a little fiasco yesterday. Except for the little part. Except for the little part. We had a big fiasco. We had a fiasco. Okay. Is everything okay? Now it is. Oh, wow. Oh, boy. Sienna. Lauren, yesterday was one of the weirdest days I've ever experienced with my friend Jay. Have you guys noticed a little tension in the room this morning? No, not at all. We must be really good actors then. We were going to go... Is something wrong? Well, we were going to go surf yesterday because the weather was real nice. And we were all meeting at Jay's. We didn't surf. Uh-oh. We didn't surf. No, there was no surfing. Jay has a turtle. Hank. Hank. Hank. I know all about Hank. You guys met Hank? I haven't met him. I've heard a lot about him. I've seen him. Very important to me. We shook hands. He's very important to Jay. He is very important to Jay. And when we arrived at Jay's house, we were getting ready to go. And Jay realized that Hank had gone missing. Oh, no. That's terrifying. And I made a mistake. Big one. I said to Jay, how far could he have gone?
He's a turtle? Really? He's a turtle. Mike, you did it. He was still going to the car. Sienna, that's a valid point. You did it. That's his pet. It's his family. Have you guys ever heard of the tortoise and the hare? Yes. The idea is that the tortoise is super slow and the hare goes fast. You can make that joke if he comes back, but not while he's still missing. Mike is throwing out, let's go. Oh, I know that now. He was walking like we were still going. I was like, hey, the turtle is missing. He's going to the car. Oh, my gosh. His name is Hank Isbell. Hank Isbell. And I'm thinking to myself, listen, if we go surfing on a surf trip for four days, when we get back, maybe he went two feet. He's fast. He can get all the way across the road. It only takes eight days for him to get across that road. No, he can get across there in ten minutes. He's fast. Ten minutes. He's fast. He's a J family member. Woods, scale of one to ten, his snap. Fifteen. Yeah. Jay's? 20 to 25, I'd say. Oh, Jay can get mad. Oh, Jay can get mad. Rarely, but when he does, he brings the thunder. I was like... A scolded little puppy. Oh, no. Like, scared little... Like, oh, my gosh. Yeah, it was like that. It was like that when, you know, somebody puts an icicle in your belly, and me and Woods looked at each other like, oh, no.
Oh, no. No joke. We were rallying the search party. Woods and I were on board. He was deputized, ready to go. And Mikey's making his way to the car, checking his phone. Oh, not after the snap. Not after the snap. Oh, now he was in. Okay, okay. I need a reenactment. So you guys get to Jay's. You're going to go to the beach. Yeah. And then Jay notices that the turtle's not there. Well, I was going to feed my fish real quick before I left. Feed fish and turtle. He was going to feed the hogs. He always comes up. He always comes up. He always comes up. Just say hello. Hank always comes up to say hello. Yeah, he always comes up to say hello and eat a little something. And he did not come up. Oh, that's the worst feeling. So immediately I was like, Woods got right on board. I was like, oh, my God, he's gone again. Good animal lover. And so Mikey is kind of doing his thing. And I alert Mikey of the critical situation. And Mikey just immediately is like, oh, yeah, how far could he go? And Mikey gives that blank look like that. Wow, I'm really supposed to give an ass about this. Can't you just go get another one for the pet store? Don't they just sell those things everywhere? Hank is a family member. Listen, I wasn't suggesting that he replace Hank. I thought to myself, listen, we can go surf. I mean, Hank is probably in the vicinity. He's a tumult. You don't walk that fast.
They don't go very far, do they? I don't know. Okay, so I want to know how Jay... Holy cow. The moment you said that, what did Jay do? Holy crap. He snapped. He snapped. Like a turtle. Yeah, he snapped like a turtle. He goes, dude! Dude! And I was like, oh. It takes a lot to get Jay to that level. Oh, yeah. I've got him there once. Hurt sadness fear. He was afraid that he was going to kill you. Yeah. He was hurt that he lost his turtle. Yeah, and he was sad that he lost his turtle. He was fearful that he might not see his turtle again. Yeah, yeah. So he was angry. He was very angry. Sadness and fear. All of the above. Scale of 1 to 10, 15 to 25. Oh, my. Wow. So, but I don't want to be unfair about it. Jay, why don't you describe your flip out? It was not that bad. Wasn't it? Okay, it was, but... If it was on hidden camera, would you be a Marist? It wasn't Mel Gibson. It wasn't Mel Gibson. That's his jumping off point.
Mikey, I'm going to put you in the effing Rose Garden, pal. That's what Mel said. What was it? The 24-hour Bauer. Jack Bauer. Get motivated. Get in here mode. Get it done. The president's in trouble kind of mode. Yeah. And Mikey was like cell phone looking at texting. Mike, I can see you doing that. Oh, yeah. What is the deal? Wood snapped right in, man. As soon as I said, Wood was like, let's find him. Because he loves animals. Mike, however, is not really the big one. I don't hate animals. I didn't say you'd hate them. Nobody said you hated them. No one says. All I know is. You said you hated them. It's a turtle. I'm not saying it replaced it. It's a turtle. They walk slow. They walk slow. They walk slow. They walk slow. See, that's exactly what you said yesterday, too, and this is what got us to this point. You need to understand that he's more than just a turtle. He's a pet. He's a part of the family. His name is Hank Isbell. I don't think he's devaluing his... Oh, is he? It's a turtle. I think he was trying to point out that he was slow. No, no, I was there.
He was devaluing. I wasn't devaluing. If you call this devaluing, leaning against your car, texting. Also, we're running around frantically looking for this turtle. I helped look for Hank. What did you do? Lift a rock? He looked under his car. He looked at his phone. He wasn't on your phone? He wasn't on your contact list? Excuse me. Turtles live a pretty long life. You roast me real good, pal. Two hours. You looked for two hours? We did. I looked for an hour and 45 minutes. Okay, so only reason you didn't leave? Because I was there. You carpooled? No, because that would be too over the top if I left. Jay would not be speaking to you right now. Because we were already going surfing, so he had the time off, so to speak. Oh, that's a good point. And so if he had been like, oh, I got to go, we would have been like, well... We were about to go surfing. You want to still go surfing? We would have been all the way in. Listen. Yeah. When you start to look for a turtle, okay? I'm imagining all you guys looking for a turtle. When you start to look for a turtle and the turtle isn't turning up, you know, and your friend has made it very clear that, you know, hey, look, we're looking for a turtle today. Did you call for the turtle?
Come here, hey. That's ridiculous. I did. I would too. That would be ridiculous. Do turtles have ears? Because that would be ridiculous. Because that would be ridiculous. I would do it. What if Luke went missing? Would you look for him? Really? Would you look for him? Even though he can't go very fast either. Would you look for him? Or would you just say, let's go surf. We'll come back. Maybe he'll pop up. No, he's a baby. He can't even walk. You would never say he's a baby. You would just go, we've got to find him. Well, yeah. You know, he's a human being. Listen, I'm not devaluing the turtle. My thinking was he's got to be around, you know, right? Let's find him. Let's find him. You know, let's find him. Let's watch you guys find him. Maybe we find him later. Let's watch you guys find him. You know, maybe we find him when we get back because, you know, he's a turtle and everything. He probably didn't go that far. Now, if he said, listen, it's a cheetah. I lost my cheetah. I'd say, you know what? You better get in the helicopter and get looking for the cheetah. I found him at another house, like two doors down. He was at another house? Yeah. Not this time. Not this time. Where was he? Did you find him this time? Talk about this time, Jay. Okay. So he was in the pond the whole time. Crickets. He just decided not to come up this time. Yep. But he's been on this escape mode of going out.
99% sure that he had escaped. It wasn't two hours. Was he mad the whole time? Wait a minute. If it wasn't two hours, it was one hour and 50. Nine minutes. Was he mad at you the whole time or was it just like one snap? He started looking and he was off in his own thing. And I kind of was too. Woods was furiously, you know, doing his. Under rocks. Yeah. Everywhere. Woods was looking for that turtle. Absolutely. Even though I'm scared to death of turtles, but it's all right. Scared to death of turtles? They're going to bite you. Go ahead and from behind. Matt, what? I'm glad you found Hank. Thank you. Mike, I hope you learned a lesson. I slept better last night. You are such a... This kid slept like a baby last night. Is that right? Knowing that I gave you anything I had. How dare you? I left it all on the field yesterday. How dare you, sir? This will surprise you. Take a guess at who leads the world in online porn searches. Take a guess. Guess what? It's not who you think. Jay, guess what? What? When you guys come back, you're going to be in my studio. No. Holy crap. I'm going to vomit. That's right. No. Oh, my gosh. Yeah, here we go. From 8 to 8.20, we have to do the show in the studio. I don't want to do it. Is this professional? All my news is in here.

KBZZ San Diego. The Lincoln Financial Radio Station. And now back to The Mikey Show. With Mikey. Because I'm tiny. Lauren. I like fried chicken. Woods. I am real talented, but I'm not stupid. Sienna. Every time I go to the grocery store, I know someone practically in every aisle. And Jay. I could teach you how to do it in five minutes. On FM 94.9. Can you hear us? Yes, you can. Oh, wow. Hi. Oh, wow. Let's see. What about the other microphone? Jay, did you turn it on? Well, there's no other thing listed here as a mic. It says TV audio. I'm already freaked out. Yep, you are. Hello. I can barely hear. I'm already freaked out. This is cozy. This is how they did it back in the day. We're broadcasting from Jay's studio. The whole, everybody. It's really hot. It is hot. It's hot in here. It's hot. It's small.
How about we keep the door open? That's what I said. Can't. What? Everybody walks in and out. Oh, no. Everybody here? Everybody good? Yeah. We're good. We're here. I don't know if we're good. We're in a little small little closet. Mikey's sitting on my lap. Pretty much. Pretty much. Hi. Is there a camera on us? Yeah, a webcam on you. This is embarrassing. It's so nice in here. I've got the palatial studio. It's like just to myself. Help yourself with those scepters in there, pal. Yeah, the scepters. This panel is a little small. Well, it actually fits. Where's the big chair? Hold on a second. Look at him. Oh, he's sitting in Mikey's special chair. Mikey, he's lapping it up in there, dude. Look at him. Has anybody seen my red pen? Oh, my gosh. He's lapping it up. Can you turn my headphones up, Woods? I don't know if I can do this the whole break. Really? I'm getting short breath. Mine's the same, too. I feel like I'm really quiet. Doesn't it feel like the walls are closing in? I'm serious. I might have to sit this one out. It is. He has control of the sound effects. Oh, yeah. He can do everything. What else can I do while I'm in here?
Does he know what he's doing? No, I don't. I'm just complaining. Really? How hot is it in here? I know. It's hot. It's hot. Pregnant woman. Do you need me to turn your head off? There we go. Oh, wow. Now it's good. Good? Are you good? Yep. Look at Lauren is so freaked out. It's tiny in here. Lauren is very claustrophobic. Not a little. She's very claustrophobic. She's got her hands in her pockets. She's freaking out. Yeah, she had to take her sweater off. This is a really good idea, Mike. I'm glad you brought this to the table. Why did you do this, Mike? Say hi. I made a mistake. Yeah, big one. I'm sweating. By the way, tomorrow morning at 7 a.m., Dave Matthews makes his return from underneath the board, crawls out, comes back, sings a song real sweetly. Your voice sounds weird, Mike. Yeah, it does. How does my voice sound? You sound like Mikey. Yeah. Hey, everybody. You sound as sultry as ever. The floors are squeaky in here. Like I'm squeaking. I got a song for you guys. Oh, you're mean. It's really funny. It's the Jay Show. Jay and Chris, our phone screener, are in our studio and we're in Jay's studio.
Jay looks like a little kid. Yeah, look at him. Sitting in a cockpit, pushing all the buttons. Doesn't it look like a passenger went into the cockpit of a plane and just started messing around? That's amazing. Okay, so we told you before we went to break that we were going to tell you what place leads the world in online porn searches. Any guesses? Countries. Woods. Woods' house. The 949 studio. I don't know. Pakistan. Pakistan. And what else you got to do with that? A Muslim nation that's banned content on a lot of the web stuff. Really? Yeah. Leads the world in online searches for porn. How you doing, LLB? I feel like my hair is too close to my neck. That's hot. Jay's got control. All these sound effects. His face. He's amazed. We have to do this. Hey, wait. We got to do this till what? 820? 820. What time is it? We have 10 more minutes. We have 10 more minutes. Okay, I can do it. Let's do something fun. I'm so uncomfortable. I know. Let's do an email. It's just weird. Don't, Woods. Should we all three go? Say Mike. Woods is sitting in a chair with his legs spread open. Because it's the only way he can sit comfortably. It's nice of you to give the pregnant girl the chair. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, real nice. Yeah. Thank you. I'm a gentleman. I'm coming around. Here.
Stay over there. Woods doesn't offer his chair to pregnant ladies. He was sitting there. Mikey doesn't look for turtles when they're lost. I like when Woods speaks on the mic. He listens up really high, and then Mikey has to reach way up and then pull it back down to talk. I've shared a mic with Woods before. All right. So this email says, Mikey, what's up? I'm loving the new cast and new crew better than ever. Had to email you guys to make sure I'm not crazy. My wife says I am. My wife of three years is a runner. She runs every day before I get home from work. It's all good. Last week, though, I wasn't feeling so well. So I left the office early. I saw this gorgeous blonde running down a major road by her house. She was wearing next to nothing. That's sexy. Tight little shorts and a sports bra. As I got closer, I realized, yep, it was the missus. Well. I sped home and waited for her where I proceeded to fillet her, as Woodsy would say. Dude, put some clothes on. Am I insane? M1 Peter. Maybe if you weren't checking out other women that you didn't know were your wife. Yeah. Here's my take on this. My take is, for me, it's not a matter of, oh my gosh, dudes are checking my wife out. For me, it's a matter of safety.
It trips me out when girls are out there running. Alone? Yeah. Or in that outfit? Both. Both, I guess. You know? I don't think the guy had a problem with it until he realized it was his wife, though. Oh, yeah. He was on board. He was totally on board. Yeah, for sure. He thought it was sexy and everything. Yeah. But for me, it's just... Forget the sexy part. It's just the being by yourself, all that stuff. I don't know. If she was on a major... if she was on a major street where there's a lot of traffic and all that stuff, I mean, how little can she actually wear? I mean, what, you know what I mean? Guys can run with their shirts off. Yeah. I mean, a lot of girls wear a sports bra and like the little spandex shorts. Almost like, I need a lot more to hold these girls down. Okay. Parachute. Hold them down or hold them up. No, but, um. I mean, I see girls all the time, even young girls running like that. I mean, I see where he's coming from. Absolutely. If I saw my husband running down the street like a Speedo, I'd be like, what are you doing, dude? I'm sorry. I was just confronted with the fact that we're in Jay's studio. Yeah. I'm not comfortable. There's no clock. I can't. There's no door. I think that probably Lauren is having the hardest time. Yeah. It's a piece of cake, man.
Let me out. Let me out of here. Get me the hell out of here. I love having a little board of sound effects here at my disposal. That's right. Mikey's voice sounds all weird. Yeah. I know. The whole thing's weird. I'd do the whole show if I'm in here. No! Well, you sound like you're in a hole. It's in Cam. It's great. I love it in here. It's in a well with James Gunn. It's really hot, though. Sienna looks miserable. She's sweating. Beans of sweat. She's making a baby. She's making a baby. So hot. If you go to MikeyShow.com, we have a webcam. You can see us right now in Jay's studio. Just click on the J cam. I know, really? Let's just put it up Mikey's nostril. You realize it's just going to be a bunch of pixels for people when you do that. I don't know what that means. Don't do it. Don't do it. What's your take on this girl running? If you saw Jamie wearing a sports bra and little shorts. That's what she wears. I don't care. Really? Yeah, I don't care. I don't think there's anything wrong with a sports bra. I thought that's the purpose of a sports bra. It's to hold the girls down. Yeah, so is there really, I mean. But like, they're saying put a shirt over it. Are you supposed to? You can. Well, yeah, I think you're supposed, I mean, you put a shirt over your regular bra. Yeah. I think the bone, I think my wife, J-Bone, runs with a shirt over her sports bra. Yeah. I mean, if it's really hot, like it was yesterday, it was like.
Basically, the first day of summer. Question. I would feel really uncomfortable if I was just running in a sports bra. Okay, wait, wait. Is the etiquette with a sports bra that you treat it as if it's a bra? Because no girl would ever go running in a bra. You can do both. I mean, it covers a whole lot more than a regular bra would, and it makes like a uniboo that holds everything in. Why was a dude freaking out? Do you remember the, I think her name was Brandy Chastain? that played for the girls' soccer team. Yeah, yeah. And when she ripped her shirt off and she had her sports bra on, everyone freaked out. Yeah. No. Oh, yeah. Everybody. It was a huge backlash. Yeah, but... And was it because she took her shirt off to reveal a sports bra? A sports bra? Yeah. I admire girls that can do that because it's like you know everyone's looking at you when they're driving by. What about girls at the beach? Are they not allowed to show their skin at the beach? Show a whole lot more at the beach. Well, at the beach, you know, it probably wouldn't bother me if there was 455 girls running in a pack. Yeah. Yeah. Someone standing out on the side of the road. Yeah. I think as long as she's safe. You know, not in a...
The dangerous environment where she's like all alone on a little trail somewhere running like that. But if she's running on a major thoroughfare where all kinds of people are, then it's fine. Five minutes left. I would think that that would be worse for the husband, though. It's like, you know, everyone's looking at your wife. That doesn't bother you. Yeah. I got a hot wife. I don't care. People will. You could run down the street in a snowsuit and a guy will look. Yeah. Condition to look. Yeah, dude. Unless she's wearing a burka. Yeah. They'll still look. We're going to look at you anyway. No, they're still going to check out a burka girl. That's the hottest burka. Somebody took a picture of me in the crosswalk yesterday. Are you kidding? With their phone. Shut up? Yeah. Standing there. What a freaking creep. That's creepy, dude. Tell me about it. I would have walked up by the window. That's insane. Have you ever heard of that? No. I would have walked up. They drove by me. How do you not taste? I'm speechless. I was standing there in the same crosswalk where somebody told me to take it off. Hey, maybe I hang out in a different neighborhood. You know who that doesn't happen to you, L.O.B.? The person that doesn't hang out in that crosswalk. The person that's not a woman of the night. And by the way, maybe you stop wearing that t-shirt that says, I'm a prostitute. That t-shirt. I'm single, let's mingle. I said woman of the night. But yeah, he just drove by and did one of these.
Oh, my gosh. What's he going to do? I don't know. What do you think? I don't want to know. To a girl with clothes on? Well, that's the point I'm trying to say. What? Never stare at the boobies, kid. Jay! Maybe we made Jay the new sound effects guy. 100%. In the last 10 minutes, we've had 500 head sound effects we've had the whole time we've been on FM 94.9. It blows me away. Way to go, Jay. You find some pretty quickly. I'm good. We have three minutes left. It's hotter when you talk. No, Woods, we have three minutes left. We should do one more break. Oh, no, Woods. You hang out in here. I do every morning. I like it. While you're on the air. That's fine. I'll do the whole show from in here. Jay, you stay in there. I'll stay in here. Done deal. I like it. 570-1949. If you want to call in and not have me take your call. You can text us.
Yeah, or you could text 949mikey at gmail.com. Let's see. Yeah, click on that, Woods. Here, look up. I can see Mike's head getting more and more shiny. M1 invisible. Maybe let me get out of here. The host of the show wants to look at the test, and Woods just told him, get. Sorry, Cesar. Get, I'm doing it, man. This says, ow! That was loud, too. It's because Woods had it at your head level. Yeah, he was trying to get me to hit my head. This text says, shouldn't a wife want to keep her body modest for the sake of her husband? And vice versa, M17. I don't know. I mean, what is she supposed to run in? A burka?
No, you wear a T-shirt. But if she's hot and the T-shirt's sticking to her. Since T-shirts are so hot. I don't do it because I'm too embarrassed. It creeps me out, yeah. I don't know what, like, normal attire is for a runner. It just depends on what you're comfortable in. Spandex, shorts, and, like, a tank top, usually. I jog in a Speedo and nothing else. That's all I wear when I jog. Just a Speedo. Jay's got a new job, by the way. You're hired. Is he better than Sean? I want to be. I miss Sean. Sean was perfect. It's hard to beat perfection. Why would I miss Sean? I got the kid. I miss him. How do you like that picture I gave you for your birthday? Hey, buddy!
I haven't even seen it. We got one minute. Really? That's it? Yeah, I know you haven't seen it because he hasn't brought it into work. You know why? Because it's smeared from the printer. He didn't wait for the ink to dry. I'm so used to grabbing the microphone. You know why? Because he took a photograph and he put it on a Xerox machine and gave it to me in a frame. Mikey, you have a framed picture of Sean who used to be on your old show on your desk in a frame that says Amigos a million times. Woods is feeling, you know, like the... Ignored stepchild or something like that. And so he got a framed picture. What does it say on it? Lovers. No, it says something like, friends may come and go, but family is forever. Wow. And he put a picture of him in there. Yeah. And you haven't brought it in. Well, he almost put a picture in there. It literally is printed on a printer. And so it's all smeared. And so what I'm going to do is I'm going to get like. Where are you? an adult version of the picture, you know, an actual printed picture and put it in that frame and bring it to work. And then you're going to draw hearts all over it. I'm going to take a picture of that picture and post it. And it'll be better than the one that's in there. There's only one picture of one friend on Mikey's desk. We can go back. We can go back. It's been 20 minutes. Has it really? It's been 20. Is it time to break? I kind of like it in here. I'm doing better now.
I am not doing good. I have the most room at least. I want Mikey to bump his head on the mic again. One more time. Yeah, that was great. Oh, I forgot to fast forward that. Are there good texts? Somebody just said, funniest bit ever. Maybe Woods make it right and give the chair to the pregnant lady. I did. Make this bit once a week. 100%. Not once a decade. Not once a decade. Now we're talking. You guys are clowns. Unbelievable. When we get back, we're going to be playing you the octopus song. If you don't know what that is, it's another cultural phenomenon right now. It's a YouTube sensation. I had to ask L.O.B. because I know L.O.B. knows a lot of YouTube stuff. Sorry, I just elbowed woods in the gut. Unmistained. It's how close we're standing in here. So we'll explain what that is. Wait till I tell you what could be California's next.
State Park. This is so weird. Weird. This song is a dedication to you. Even though you don't have my picture up, I'm going to keep on loving you, dude. Thanks very much. Yeah, it's fine. I'll pay a dollar for that. Lauren just held her finger up to say one dollar for Kangaroo Court for saying something that nobody knows what you mean. Why don't they know that? No, because she talked about the song. I'm not going to know the music. I keep two dollars. When we come back... We're going to be back in our normal studio. Thank goodness. It's so hot in here. I told you it's hot. Open the door. We'll be back. No, let's visit. No, stop it. Listening to The Mikey Show on FM 94.9. The countdown is on. Already got my ticket. It's nice to see how the other half lives every now and then. That's true. There's double the amount of people, though. That's true. It was fun, though. I like watching you guys all freak out. That was really uncomfortable. Sadist. It was really uncomfortable. We just did 20 minutes in Jay's studio and he came in here. Oh, that was uncomfortable. That was worse. What is going to be, maybe, be California's next state part? Oh, wait. Sorry. It's going to take me 100 years to get used to it. I reminded you maybe eight times. I know.
You know what I'm going to do? What? Start highlighting it. I put it in bold the first few days. Oh, my gosh. We're doing a new thing, news and sports. Yeah. All right, Jana, what do you got going on in news? There have been six New Orleans police officers were charged yesterday on charges related to the fatal shooting of two unarmed people on the Danzinger Bridge in... New Orleans, just days after Hurricane Katrina back in 2005. Well, all of these officers are facing the death penalty if they are convicted. So it's a pretty crazy story. Also, 5% of the population in Key West, Florida right now, which is more than 1,000 people, have been infected with the dengue virus. Have you ever heard of this? No, what is that? It's been something that's been around for 75 years. really not that common i think it comes in flukes but you get it from mosquitoes and it can kill you it's uh it's a really crazy a common virus transmitted by by mosquitoes and uh just to let you know how many people that is in key west a thousand people five percent there's three million people in san diego so that would be um 150 000 people in san diego with that virus so it is a big chunk of people yeah it is
Yeah, so they're worried about, you know, infection spreading. So right now they're saying that none of the people with it have traveled. So it's right now pretty... I want to research the dengue virus. Yeah, D-E-N-G-U-E. Freaks me out just the name of it. Isn't that scary? Flu-like symptoms is what it is. Wow. Yeah. Woodsy, what's going on in sports? National League wins the 81st All-Star game last night, 3-1. We'll have home field advantage in the playoffs. MVP was Brian McCann. George Steinbrenner passed away yesterday at 80 years old with a massive heart attack. And Lawrence Taylor has pled not guilty to rape and other charges. His trial will be first part of next year. There you go. So what might be California's next state park? Neverland Ranch. Weird. I know. Creepy. Well, they kind of did with Elvis, right? I'd go, though. Who wouldn't? I'd go. It didn't even a state park. It just became an attraction. Yeah, that's an attraction. Well, yeah, but, I mean, meaning it makes a lot of money. People go through it. People pay to go through it. And that's why, I mean, Neverland Ranch is pretty awesome. And they make it a state. It's so strange. A state park, yeah. I mean, there's amusement park rides, Ferris wheel, a zoo there. How cool is that? So they're saying, you know.
Talking about converting it. And people that are for it are saying, I think Michael's history is world history. And I think it would become the number one attraction for the state parks if we can pull it off. There you go. Yeah. California's broke. Yeah. Whatever helps. I'd go. I would too. I'd want to see it. Yeah. Get to see what the inside of that place looked like. A creepy place. A friend of mine used to get to work there during the summer. He lived over in that area. Yeah. And he would get paid to play with, what's the kid from Home Loan? Macaulay Culkin? Yeah. At Neverland Ranch. They paid this kid to be Macaulay Culkin's friend. I thought that's what Michael did. Yeah.
Michael was his buddy. But Macaulay wanted kids his age, too, and they were the same age. And so he would, like, go into Neverland Ranch and just get to cruise around with Macaulay Culkin. Wait, you had a friend that did that? Yeah. Did he say Michael was ever perverted with him? No, he didn't really see Michael that much. He just, like, the help brought him in and he hung out with Macaulay Culkin. But he saw Michael sometimes. I'm sure he did. Nothing ever. He didn't say anything weird. Maybe we get him on the phone sometimes. That's fascinating to me. Of course. He works at the old radio station. Really? Uh-huh. Maybe not. Well, they wouldn't let him on. Yeah. Yeah, in fact, they'd have him arrested. Yeah. Drawn and quartered. Yeah. Remember the end of Braveheart? That's what they would do. Absolutely. If they found out. There's a new viral video out there. First of all, you have to know who Paul the Octopus is because I just found all this out. Paul the Octopus is an octopus that predicts the World Cup. Mm-hmm. Very well, my dear. In Germany. Is it a bit? No. It's real? It's real. His odds are pretty good, 8 for 8. I'd say that's better than pretty good. Funnily enough, Mark Malman was betting money on the World Cup. And he told me, he goes, hey, do your Malman put 500 bucks on the Dutch. And he calls me and I go, dude, you can't. I go, you have to switch your bet. I go, or he put 500, yeah, 500 on, who won? Who won? Spain. Spain won. He put it on the loser. He put it on the, on Dutch.
And I was like, dude, you have to switch. He picked Spain or whatever. I was like, you have to. Didn't do it. Guy lost 500 bucks. And the octopus said Spain would win. Yes. The octopus is correctly, which makes me think. That was a very flowing story. How does the octopus know? He just knows. He just knows. It's weird. I watched it on ESPN. Yeah. Like a tentacle moves. To the team that's going to win. It's really weird. It's a real octopus? Yes. I thought it was like a made up thing. It's real. They put mussels in the tank and he chooses which tank he wants and there's a flag to represent. The two different tanks. Imagine the person who first said, dude, this octopus. Yeah. This octopus is going to call the World Cup. Yeah, like quit smoking hashish. I know. And now everyone's like, wow. How do you sell that? He's now retired, which means he's probably going to be served up his calamari. Yeah. Delicious. Yeah. I've had octopus. Tastes good. Here's the new viral video out there. Paul the octopus song. Sounds auto-tuned, so you're probably in.
I actually like it. It's awesome. Is it wrong that I like it? I love it. I can't stop dancing. Let me explain. Let me explain. Everybody in the car just bob their heads. This is a global phenomenon. Yeah. I'm being 100% real. It only has like 80 billion hits on YouTube. I love it. The guy in the background is all tough. We will pull. I think I heard Wolfgang in there. Right. Paul the Octopus. National treasure of 70, Michael. I hope you like that. That's it. Paul the Octopus. Gorgeous. 570-1949 is our phone number. That was catchy. Yeah, it was. It was great, wasn't it? Let's see. Want to do a little... I say we do a little Sienna Sings. Oh. Absolutely. Why not? Let's do a little Sienna Sings. Let's do this.
weird that I heard the real version of a song in the car the other day and I was singing My Sienna. Oh my gosh. I'm tired of not having a song for myself. I need help. Is it weird that all Sienna's intros are 35 minutes long? I didn't write any of them. I love them all though. Isn't it weird that you skirted that issue, Mike? The long songs? No, the non... Bit having song of me. Crickets. What did that mean? What are you talking about? Remember how I said I wanted a song, an intro song? For? A couple different bits that never happened. What is she talking about? I think we had a couple. Lauren wants a song, but she needs a bit to have a song. Well, we, yeah. We had a couple. Did we? Yeah. Didn't we? I thought we did. Yeah. I thought we had a few of those, didn't we? We had a couple, but the bits, I think, went well. Yeah, I had them produced, and then we didn't do anything with them because it didn't work out. Well, we did do them a couple of times, right? Did we? I think. Yeah. What were they? I'm going to get your throat slit, so I'm just warning you. How about vegan girl? No, what were they? There was, maybe we should just go on with the game. Yeah, yeah, yeah. A dollar? Yeah. To me? No. No.
All right. Let's all have some fun. She's a doll. I'm about to make a fool out of myself. She could be on TV. All right. All right. We have to guess whether or not Sienna can get this song and sing this song. I'm 25 years old. I like to say that every time. She does. She doesn't know a lot of songs. She doesn't know a lot of songs. So it's, you know, that's the fun of it. Do you guys think that Sienna will know? I know a lot of songs, but they're not necessarily songs that you guys know. That is true. Or the general population. Or the general population, yeah. That's true. Do you guys think that Sienna will know Kiss rock and roll all night? 100%. Yes. I say no. I say no on Kiss. Everybody knows rock and roll all night. You ready, Sienna? I was born ready. She's got a little karaoke thing in front of her with the words. Following the highlighted words. Here we go. You show us everything you've got. You keep on dancing and the room gets hot. You drive us wild. We'll drive you crazy. And you want to go for a spin. The party's just begun. We'll let you in. You drive us wild. We'll drive you crazy. You got stopped. Give me the chorus.
Wanna rock and roll all night. Okay, okay. For sure. It's hard to do the verse. I need to get a feel for it. I'm shocked. I'm shocked she knew that. Okay, what about CCR, Bad Moon, Rising? Yes. Woods? No. Yes, Todd. That's her only hope. No way. Todd knows it, so she knows it. Well, her husband is, how old is Todd? 38. Sienna's 25. Lauren? I said yes. Yeah. I say she... I don't think she's going to know CCR. Todd. That's my only hope. Her dad would be my only hope because that was his 60s. Yeah, but Todd likes classic rock. Yeah? A lot. You ready, Sienna? Oh, yes. Here we go. I see the bad mood. rising. I see trouble along the way. I see earthquakes and lightning. I see bad times today.
on the rise. Yeah, there's no chance with a CCD. How old is that, you guys? I would say probably... 40 years old. You all knew that? Yeah. For sure. Oh. Oh. Sorry. ACDC for those about to rock. No flipping way. Lauren? No. Absolutely 100% yes. Yes. She knows this. I agree. Really? Absolutely. 100% yes. Have my back a little. Woods, how do you not know? For those about to rock. I do. I know. You know what? There are people in Pakistan searching for porn that know ACDC for those about to rock. Really, OB? What? The best part about every song that you say, I have no idea if I know it until I hear the music. I don't know any titles. Nothing like that. I just go with it. That title doesn't really bring it up. We'll see. Here we go. Yeah, oh. All right, I stand corrected. Ooh, ooh, ooh. Ooh, yeah, baby. Sounds like an adult film. We roll. We roll tonight. Oh, my God. Let it go. To the guitar bite. Keep it up, T.O. Yeah, yeah, E.O. E.O. E.O. E.O. E.O. E.O. Wow.
Wow. So would you say she knows it? Was I close? No. No, you weren't. Yeah, I had no idea what that one was. I didn't think there was a person in the world. Well, welcome. Welcome. Nice to meet you. 570-1949. Sorry to everyone. I love. Man. Man, that was good. E-I-E-I-O. Oh, yeah, baby. Oh, baby. Yeah, baby. It's hard, you guys. They say the words, and it's like slowly highlighting, so I'm trying to go along with it. I just got an idea. Woodsy, we should do those with you, only there'd be pop music, because there'd be a ton of stuff you wouldn't know. Oh, dude, I wouldn't know any of it. You know what I mean? He says he wouldn't. I guarantee he would. Maybe he would. I'd like to throw the gauntlet down. Hey. Hey, hey, hey. Admiral Thad Allen, where are we with the BP well? I think we are very confident we can take control of this hydrocarbon stream and then slowly close all these valves and stop the emission of hydrocarbons. What we can't tell is the current condition of the wellbore below the seafloor. Whoa. Wow, that was really riveting. I had to look up the word hydrocarbons because I don't know what a hydrocarbon is.
40 years old. I never heard the word in my life. It's apparently two chemicals, and then when they mix together, you can put them with other stuff and make just about anything you want. Nice. They're nervous because they have this new cap, and you have to remember that there's three different valves underneath the well, and if they put something that could cover the entire well, it could blow up on the inside. Wow. You know what I mean? So they have to be really careful. So right now, this new cap that... They're trying to put on. They haven't done it yet. Well, they haven't tested it yet. Yeah. And they don't really, they haven't announced when they're going to do it or the reason for the delay. Yeah, because if you cap it, it's like all that pressure blows a bunch of little volcanoes. Yeah, there's little valves all over the place. So you just, you have to be so careful. Lauren found this website this morning that showed how many gallons of the oil have leaked into the ocean already. And it's constantly ticking. Sickening. It's counting. It's like our national debt. Clicking off how many gallons? That's not depressing at all. It was like millions past the Exxon Valdez, right? Which was up until now the worst one. So there's a lot of oil going into the ocean. Woodsy's on day two of P90X. Yeah. How you feeling? Terrible. What'd you do yesterday? Plyometrics. What is that? Bunch of jumping and squatting. Holy cow. Oh, dude.
It's brutal. My legs are shaking. My stomach is killing me because you have to swing your leg over a chair and back and forth and back to a high chair. And my abs. I mean, dude, but when I got done, I was sweating profusely. I was like, wow, that was a workout. You really do it for an hour? Yeah. Oh, my gosh. It's hard. Do they give you little breaks? Yeah, you take breaks. How long do they give you to catch your breath? Or do they tell you to pause the tape? No, no. They give you a 30-second water break. Oh, my gosh. Yeah, dude. 30 seconds. And I'm pounding water, and then my fat gut starts jiggling water when I'm doing squats, and I feel like I'm going to vomit. Also, another tip. Don't eat a hard-boiled egg right before you work out. Oh, oh. Yeah, I almost vomited all over the place. Gosh. Stop talking about vomiting. Oh, my gosh. I was like, oh, and then I rolled my ankle at one point and hit the deck and shook the whole house, and my wife had to run up and make sure I was okay. So you do this upstairs? Yeah. Do you have, like, a room? Yeah, a whole P90X room. P90X room. Yeah. How did you roll your ankle? What were you doing? I was jumping, doing these jump squats. Can you imagine him? Like these, jump squats, and you go like this, and then you turn around. Son of a! When I turned around, it's on carpet. Oh, yeah. And so I turned around, and I rolled my ankle, and I was like...
Like as loud as it could go. With a remote control, trying to hit the pause button. As loud as I could scream, I scream. You should do this in the garage. It's probably hard on carpet. Too hot, dude. This is the hardest workout in the history of man. If you've never seen it before. Don't stop, dude. If you've never seen it before, they do an infomercial on TV of this product called P90X. In 90 days, you will get a ripped body. No, you don't get breaks. It's 90 days straight. Yeah. No weekends off. No. Now, is it this dude that you see on the infomercial? Yeah, who I want to slit his throat. Yeah, he's driving me nuts. He's the guy on the DVD. Already, day two. Day two. Yesterday, I muted it, and I just put the deftones on. Really? I just watched what they did. Yeah, I couldn't even listen to them. What's he like? Giant douche. No. And he just yells at you? Yeah. What if he says, now, whatever you do, don't repeat this move. They don't do that. It shows them do the exercises because I watched it the first time. Now, this is the wrong way to do it. I'm going to show you now the wrong way to do this exercise. I never do it this way. You can really hurt yourself. Dude, it's tough. It looks tough. It is tough. Hey, listen, I've seen the infomercial. I'm like, you don't get a body like that from, you know, easy. And when you're working out and you see that clock, there's a clock in the corner and it ticks down slowly. And you're like, all right, man, I've got to be. I don't look at it. And I'm like, all right.
Look at it now. And I'm like, oh, great. 48 minutes left. Oh, my God. Oh, yeah. And you just want to die. Holy cow. So that's to look forward to in about an hour. Are you eating what you should be eating? Yep. Are you? I am. Aren't I? Are you? I don't know. I am. Dude, I'm eating so healthy. I mean, from where he was to where he is now, he's doing amazing. Dude, protein shake for breakfast every morning. He's eating almonds. Piece of string cheese and water. No Cokes. We had a meeting the other day, and we all brought in Mexican food, and he sat there with almonds. And I had a salad and a chicken breast for lunch while you guys were feasting. He's doing really good. I can't wait to see the end result. Oh, you're going to see it, pal. Believe me. It's really cool. I think it's awesome. I may do the show shirtless from now on after those 90 days. Just shirtless. Please don't. Can't wait. Just board shorts and no shirt. That's fantastic. Just wear a shirt.
Maybe a little tank top for you. Oh, wow. What's your dog is on the line? Oh, good. Senior Beans. Senior Beans. A little buddy. Daddy? Yes. Hi, buddy. Hi, puppy. Hi. How are you? I'm good. How you do? I do great. I want to tell you something. Oh, yeah? What's going on? I called to tell you the shooter. Yeah. Shooter peed in the Yale. Shooter peed in his jail? It's not a jail. It's a kennel. Shooter's your other dog? It's just a kennel. He's the big lab. Oh, okay. He's the big boy who went pee-pee in the Yale because if you don't know, Papi put us in Yale. Mommy actually put you in Yale. Why? Papi didn't really care. Mommy put us in Yale because we do innocent things like pee-pee in the house. That's not really innocent. You know better. And they put us in the Yale and we've been staying in here. And also, I wanted to call you to let you know, Papi, that if there is any dogs that are listening and could be interested in getting a PEC ID. A what? A PEC ID?
Somebody who can do that for him. What is a peck ID? No, I said a peck ID. A peck ID? A bake ID. You know, a peck ID so you can get into the bars. Oh, a fake ID. You're making IDs now? I said peck ID. You're making IDs now? No, no, no. I don't make them. I don't say that I make them. I don't even want for anybody to have the dogs with the peck IDs. So why are you talking about them? Because if you want to get one, I'm just saying, if you were to want to get one, maybe I know how to get one. What's your cut? At 35%. But I don't do that. You are a little Yorkie. That would be so wrong. What do you need that money for? I'm going to buy cocaine. Oh, wow. That's a joke. That's a yoke. That's a yoke. A yoke. No cocaine in the house, fiends. Yes? When you come home today, will you bring something for me to eat? Yeah, I'll bring you a nice little treat. A little jerky. Yay. A little jerky. You want turkey jerky? I want to have a little bit. Bacon. Yes, bring me some bacon. I'll bring you some bacon.
Will you do me a favor? Yes. Will you let me out of the jail, please? As soon as I get home, I will. Are you in jail right now? I am in jail. Oh, poor baby. And Mama Jamie let me have one phone call per day. Up until now, I've been calling a friend of mine who can, if any dogs were listening, wanted to get a PIC ID, I am saying, I talked to him. I don't necessarily like it to get the PIC ID. But if you wanted to, fine, I can help. But I'm not saying to do it. I'm just saying I can make it happen. I don't think you should be doing that stuff, dude. Where is Mama Yami? Mama Yami is inside ordering thousands of dollars worth of things on the computer. Great. Great. She likes the Amazon.com. She sure does. Do you know that words? Yeah, she does. She likes to get things on there. Also, the Dulce and the Cabona. What? Get the Dolce and the Cabana. Dolce and Cabana. There's a dog stay in a Cabana. Yeah. That's what I thought. No, they don't stay in Cabana. But if they were to see Mexico and they wanted to drink and they wanted to get a fake ID, I'm just saying. Okay. I'm not going to do that. But if you wanted to.
I can make it happen for you. What is it that you got your dogs the other day to eat? Ice cream. No, it's called Frosty Paws. Remember those little Frosty Paws? I saw Woodsy, no, your wife put pictures up of you guys eating those ice creams and you looked so happy, Senor Beans. My mom let me out of the Yale to take the picture, but then she put me right back into prison. No, she didn't. Put me right back into prison. You got in a little trouble the other night. Yes, I did. Yeah, you did. What did you do? I did cocaine. No, you didn't. You went number two on the floor in the bedroom. You're not supposed to do that. I look at Mommy and Poppy when I do it. He looked right at us, ran in a little circle, and then... Then I jump up on Poppy's chest, and he let me kiss me. With my tongue. That's right. Oh, that was disgusting. That's how I kiss him. That's right. That's going to cry. He lets you kiss him with his tongue? Yeah, that's my baby boy. Dude, it's just making out. I love you. I love you, Papa. I love you too, Beansy. Oh, I can talk to him. He's something else.
I could talk to him all day. Sounds like a fire alarm. Why does Vuvuzela go off every time he hangs up? He blows his Vuvuzela. He's just playing soccer real good. We got him one for the World Cup. You did. He's a big fan of Spain and Mexico. Hey, look at this. M1 Yvette from Solana Beach. Are you there? I am. Your husband's doing P90X. Yes. Oh, my God. First of all, I talked him into getting it for me. And I'm scared to death of it. Can't even watch a DVD. It's awful. I'm just... chicken. So he's doing it and he's a manly man and I'm telling you he does the yoga. His one day is yoga. Kicks his butt. He can't even walk. Like literally can't walk. I'm giving him pampering. How long has he been doing it? I swear I am. Does that work? How long has he been doing it? He's been doing it probably it's been like two months. Have you seen major results? I mean he has a pretty hot body already. I do not. Which is hilarious. This is what's funny is that he works out and he runs. And so this is kicking his butt. Yeah. I mean, like you said, he totally wants to puke. I can hear him, like, grunting, and it's hilarious. That's fantastic. It is. It really is. And I do want to do it, but I'm scared. You should be. It's terrible. Is your wife doing it with you? Oh, yeah. She slays it. She's in such good shape. Really? Oh, my gosh. She was a triathlete, marathon runner. Like, it's no problem for her. She comes down and barely breaks the sweat. Thanks, Yvette. We appreciate the phone call.

570-1949 is our number, or you can text us, 949mikey, at gmail.com. So what... What celebrity is going to be water skiing to fulfill a bet? He's going to be water skiing naked to fulfill a bet. Someone you probably won't care that much about, guys, but the ladies will be excited. Who? Enrique Iglesias. Are you kidding? Can be my hero. No, he made a bet with the BBC back in June that if Spain wins, he said, I'm going to get drunk and ski naked.
Really? And water ski, that's what he says he used to do when he was kids. So he said a bet is a bet. He used to water ski naked? Apparently. Ow. Apparently. Jay? Yeah, he's done it. I'll do it. In the Biscayne Bay. Biscayne Bay. Percentage of chance that Jay has water skied naked. 99. Absolutely. Depends on what you mean by naked. I had shorts at my ankles. Naked. Shorts at your ankles is naked. You mooned everybody? Yeah. Moves over Miami. So he's not going to announce when he's going to do it, but he'll be doing it, apparently. We'll look forward to that. Can't wait to see the pictures. Let's see. So tell me what you think of this. This is a pretty interesting email that we got. 570-1949 is the number, or you can text us, 949mikey at gmail.com. Mikey, oh, man, do I need your help. My wife's about to celebrate her 30th birthday, big milestone, and the only thing she wants. are these two little birds that she saw at a pet store near our house. The last thing I want living in our house are noisy little birds. I keep asking her if she wants to have a party. No. I've asked her if I can take her on a shopping spree. No. How am I going to get out of buying these loud, messy birds? Two question marks. Help.
Exclamation point. Oh, man. Well, we had birds when I was growing up. My mom had these two little finches. What are their names? I don't think she had names. No. That wasn't my mom's style. Some birds are so cool. Yeah, some birds aren't. Uh-oh. These finches would get little bird seed everywhere. They all do that. And they stunk with their little bird poo. Did they fly around the house or did they stay in a cage? No, they stayed in a cage and they pooed and they would eat and all the poo would smell up the house. You have to clean it. I know. You got to clean it. All the time. You got to clean it all the time. What's the point? And then the little seeds would be all over the floor. What is the point? I don't get it. It's in between your toes. It's like David Wells was living in our house spitting out seeds all day long. Some birds, though, I'm telling you, I had a bird when I was little. His name was Featherhead. It's original. Featherhead. And Featherhead flew to us. It was a cockat... Teal. Oh, yeah. Feathers sticking up, you know. Can't say that on the radio. And the bird flew to us, you guys. And this was the coolest bird. It would dance whenever you put music on. Yeah, that's cool. I like those birds. And he didn't really make noise. He was messy. They all are.
But, oh, he was awesome. So you would be sitting watching TV and all of a sudden. We were outside in our backyard and I remember it like flew and landed on my dad's shoulder or something weird. And so it just kept happening. The bird would keep doing that and it was suddenly domesticated. We just kept it. Oh, it wasn't an inside thing. It wasn't an inside thing. It became an inside thing. We were outside and it flew to us. And you kept it. Somebody's pet. What are you doing when you dog walks in your yard? Jackpot. What am I supposed to do? Put signs up everywhere for the bird? Happy birthday to us. Happy birthday to us. No, you know what you do? It liked us. Hon, you know what you do? You leave it outside because it's a bird. But it was the kind of bird that you buy at the store. Ostrich. No, it was a cockatoo or a cockatiel. The ones with the yellow head and the gray bodies. Did it go in the house?
Yeah, it stayed by our side forever. But just outside. When you walked outside, it would fly to you. No, no, no. We bought a cage. We bought a cage. Featherhead loved shoes, too. We found a kid named Tad. We raised Tad. He's my brother. He really liked our cookies. Yeah, I had a pet Wolverine who doesn't. Maybe he found a turtle named Hank. Featherhead Richards loved us. And we would let her out of the, I don't know if it was a boy or a girl, a boy, let him out of the cage sometimes. And he would just like hang out in the kitchen and sit in there with us. And whenever there were shoes, he would go and bite on the shoe places. It was a person. That would drive me nuts. My advice to this guy is tell your girlfriend or wife, whatever. No. Maybe you get a divorce. You can't say no if that's the only thing she wants. You have to find out why she wants. Okay, fast forward the tape, hon. Say that to her. Who's taking care of this bird in three months? She is. She is. You know, it was like the time at an office I used to work at. This guy, they trained monkeys, and they brought a monkey in. And I thought it was the cutest, funnest thing ever. And I went home and was like.
We're getting a monkey. I love animals. And I got the fast forward the tape bit. Yeah. Yeah. You have a three year old for the rest of your life. Yeah. I'm like, yeah, never mind. Yeah. Oh, that's right. Jamie already had you. Exactly. Got to change the monkey's diaper. Yeah. To a woman who says no to a shopping spree. Yes. That's a woman who needs some birds. She wants her some birds. I think she wants some birds. And I think that after about four months when the. I don't know. Novelty. Novelty. Maybe she just visits like the SPCA and plays with those birds and sees if she really wants them. Do they have birds there? I don't know. Hey babe, maybe I'll get you a DVD of some birds. Yeah. No, it's not the same. I knew one of my friends' mom had a bird that she loved so much that it would shower with her. No? Yes. Yes. Wow. Maybe go hang out in the backyard. Feed the birds there. That's not normal. Maybe go to the wild animal park. The bird would shower with her. It was like a thousand dollar bird that was shipped from somewhere. Really? Yes. Some people really like birds. Yeah. You know, you know, parrot people. Yeah. There are people that are parrot people. Yeah. My brother had a parrot. They like Jimmy Buffett. They like a parrot head. My brother had a parrot.
Same bit. Yeah, it would talk and it would fly to his shoulder. Ah! Mikey's little cubby! You walk in the house and it flies to your shoulder. Ah! Stay out of the fridge! Stay out of the fridge! I see people with parrots at the beach all the time. What? Yeah, one time I saw someone driving and the parrot was on his shoulder. I was like, whoa, parrot lover! Captain Ahab? Give me a favor. Everyone married from La Jolla? Hi. My brother and I came home from school one time when we were kids, and in the backyard, a full-sized peacock flew into our backyard and just decided he was going to stay there. That must be what happens in La Jolla. Yeah. The peacocks everywhere. When you said she was from La Jolla, I was like, oh my gosh, we took her bird. Yeah, we took her bird. That's where we got our llama, Sandy. Just ended up in our backyard. So you kept it too? Oh, no, no, no.
No way we were keeping that. Those things are mean. It was loud, obnoxious, and it scared our dogs. What did you do? You called the animal control? You threw rocks at it. There was like a farm down the street, and we knew they had peacocks, and we called them. We were like, hey, are you missing a peacock? They're like, yeah, actually we are. How great would it have been if they would have been, nope. Nope. Not us. Maybe they were missing a featherhead, too. Yeah. Seriously. Turns out it was Petey Johnson. Yeah. Petey Johnson. It wasn't. Featherhead Richards. Somewhere there's a Petey Johnson crying his eyes out because Tommy, his bird, flew away and is now being nicknamed Parrothead. Featherhead. Featherhead. And I meant Petey was the bird's name. I got that. 5701949. Do you have birds? Would you let your gal get a bird? I have a buddy that moved in with his girlfriend in Dallas. He was here, the tall dude that came to visit. And they bought a bird. They did? And they thought it would be real sweet and domestic to buy a bird. Carmella. That's a great name for a bird. And my boy, he's a young kid. He goes out and parties and stuff. And he's like, dude, trying to wake up. You just got in at 3 a.m. It's 5.30. And Carmella's like, all morning. He's like, there's nothing you can do. He's like, I literally want to rip that bird's head off.
have wings and are meant to fly. Absolutely. I don't think they should be engaged. You don't clip those wings, dude. You let them go. Yeah, let them fly freely. But some of them aren't the domestic, I mean, they're not the wild type, aren't they? Aren't they all? Aren't they all? Maybe. It's like saying whales belong at SeaWorld. Yeah. You know what I mean? My dad nursed a pigeon back to life, and it stayed with us forever. Aw. Yeah, a lot of people do that. Was your dad in the Shawshank Redemption? Yeah. A pigeon? Yeah, Peggy. You had a pigeon? Peggy? Peggy's the best name. Are you kidding me? No. Every day? My dad healed it. He kept it. It would fly. Every day when he would pull up at home, park the car, get out of the driveway, and in the driveway, it would fly up. Oh, my gosh. No way. It never left? Mm-mm. That's amazing for a pigeon. Eventually, she passed, and we didn't see her again. You should have used it to send messages to people. Yeah, we should have tied a little barrel around her neck and sent her off to do stuff. Go, Peggy, go. You know, I used to race pigeons when I was living there. I know you did, Mike. You did a lot of them. Mike Tyson. Yeah, a whole bunch of pigeons up on the roof. Why'd you do that? Because I hadn't got my tiger yet. Yeah. You had a few tigers, actually.
Yeah, you can't keep as many tigers as you can the pigeons, though. Yeah. Did I ever tell you about when I would get mad at my tiger? Uh-uh. Punch him in the balls. Oh, yeah? What happened? Nothing. It was the way you like to play. It's the way the tigers like to play. Mike Tyson probably could take down a tiger. 100%. I did take him down. Punched him out in two and a half rounds. You bit his ear off, too? Yeah, bit his ear off. M1 Liz from Lemon Grove? Yep. Your husband? Your husband bought birds? Well, it was... It was Father's Day, and we were at the swap meet, and I had wanted birds for a while, so I made him buy me birds. What does he think of them now? What's your explanation to think of those now? I hate them. You hate them now. He was like, just give it a month, you're going to hate them. And sure enough, I hate them. They wake up at like 5 a.m. swap. Yeah. Yeah. That's what birds do. They're birds. Yeah, that's what birds do. And now I have no choice. Like, I have to keep them. Thanks for the call. 5701949. Rebecca told me we're getting birds. No way. You'd be crashing at the kid's house real good. But you don't really like cats that much, and you have a cat. But the cat was... Came with a deal. Oh, she already had the cat. Part of the package. Part of the package. Yeah. Yeah, I was thinking about it the other day. Like, what would I say if our kids wanted pets? You're going to need to figure that out. Yeah, because when Jules dies, and sadly, you know. Black cats. Sadly, Jules is getting on in years.
Mikey. It is sad. Yeah, it is. He's unfortunately reaching the twilight portion of his life. You know, he's 10, 12 something years old. You got another 10, 12 years. Yeah, you do. That cat's only lived to be about 15. Oh, no. 18-ish. 18 to 20. I bet you'll have some pretty good luck, though, once he's gone. Sienna heads. Really superstitious. It's a black cat. Don't want anything to do with our cat. Nope. Sorry. I guess we have that in common. Seems like a nice cat, but I'm just going to look at him from a distance. M1 Grace from Oceanside. Hi, Grace from Oceanside, yes. Yes, how are you? I'm good. How are you guys? You guys are awesome. Thank you. And I listen to you guys every morning on the way to work. Thank you, Grace. You're welcome. Well, I was listening to your segment on birds, and I was telling them, like, We had two doves, Shampson and Delilah, that were just gorgeous. Shampson and Delilah. Yeah, they love to be outside. Bird names are the best. My mom, we put them outside in their cage, which is a relatively big cage, you know, because they're big birds. And all of a sudden, we hear, like, the cage rattling, a bunch of ruckus, and we go out there, and we see these, you know, this dog, which is, like, the canine dogs, you know, the police dogs. I don't know what kind of breed they are. Jeremy Shepard. Jeremy Shepard.
Got into the cage, killed my bird. All there was was blood all over, feathers, and the beak and the head. That's all. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Wow. And it was doves? Huh? It was doves? And the poor doves couldn't fly away. Yeah, the doves couldn't fly away. The cage, I guess, I was thinking the gate, you know, the door was big enough for their head to just, the dog had to go in and just kill the bird. You know, that doesn't happen to me. People that don't have doves on them. The dog just walked away. I have to say the same thing happened to Featherhead, but with a cat. Really? A cat got Featherhead? When I was walking out in the morning. Thank you, Grace. You're welcome. Thank you, guys. Sorry for your loss, Grace. Sorry, Grace. Grace, I'm so sorry, and I feel your pain, because I saw the bloody mess, too. You did? Yes! I was, like, in fourth grade and was walking out to go to school in the morning. My dad left the cage outside. You know the difference between Featherhead and what happened with Grace? What? Featherhead doesn't taste as good when you put cream of mushroom soup all over him. Oh, gross. You're mean. I'm just saying, Dove is delicious. Dove is delicious. This is what it sounds like when doves cry. Oh, wow. Mushroom soup can opening up. That's right. Delicious. You wrap it in bacon real good. Oh, yeah. Put a little toothpick through it. Delicious. Throw it on the grill. Smother it in gravy. Stop. I'm dying. I'm so hungry. I haven't eaten anything. Yeah. Woods would eat.
A raw dove right now. 100%. With his bare hand. Yeah. Ozzy Osbourne just walked in and handed you a bird. 5701949. You know what we should do? You guys want to do a little gender pyramid? Absolutely. Let's do gender pyramid. Who's up this week? Lauren and Mike. Me and Lauren, yeah. Prepare for the dirt nap, Mike. She's good, man. She's real good, dude. Really good. All right. We need a guy and a girl to play gender pyramid. 5701949. Give us a call right now. And we'll do a little gender pyramid. The way that it works is categories. So we will give you a category. And Lauren will work with the girls. I'll work with the guys. And I'm going to be giving the guys girl categories. And Lauren's going to be giving her girl the guy categories. It's really tough because you have to know about the opposite sex, which I know a lot of girly stuff. Yes. Write that down. Nice. Oh, man. We have a whole collection of those kind of rejoins. Yes, we do. But give us a call, 570-1949. And let's see. We got our first player is M1 Public. How are you, Public? It's going good. I'm going to be your partner. In life and in love. Yes, that's right. From this moment on. And so hang on the line, and we'll get you dialed in, okay? Hang on just a second.
And you are going to be going up against M1 Ola? M1 Ola from Oceanside. Can you hang on? Hang on just a second, okay? Okay. We'll come back. We'll do a little gender pyramid. Don't go anywhere. And I'm going to go around to the other side of the board, right? Is that how we do it? Do I go around to the other side of the board? Or do I do it from here? I don't even know. I'll stand by Sienna Sweetly. All right. Is anyone going to time it? Yeah, I'm watching it. I'll stand in the middle. All right, the way that we do it is I'm going to be giving girl stuff to the guys, and Lauren is going to be giving guy stuff to the girls, and they've got to figure out what we're doing. Girls go first. Girls are up first. Okay. Are you ready, Lauren? I'm ready. Here we go. Okay. Sony, Hitachi, Samsung. Stereo. Vizio. HD. DVD. TV. Yeah. Okay. Indy 500. Race car. Racing. Daytona. Race car. Okay. Let's see. Babe Ruth. Derek Jeter. A-Rod.
More specifically, Mickey Mantle. The Yankees. Yes. Okay, Scarface. Donnie Brasco. Goodfellas. Clark. Gangster. Godfather. Gangster movie. Okay. Let's see. Heath Bell. Adrian Gonzalez. Matt Latos. Chase Hedley. Pawball players. Pass. Flush, Full House, The River Times. I bet she would have got that. I bet she would have, too. I could hear it. I bet she would have got that. It's very close. What was that one? What was that? The last one. Poker Terms? Poker Terms. How many did Gloria get? I've never played poker in my life. Four out of six. Four out of six. Not bad. She missed the Padres and Poker Terms. All right. All right, fellas. We're up next, and we have to mind-meld Chickley right here. Are you ready? Here we go. All right. Let's do it. Nordstrom. Pass. Seven. Sevens. Citizens. What did he say? I said Brad Pitt. No. He said Brad Pitt. He was still stuck on the Julia Roberts movie, which we gave him credit for. If I would have said seven for all mankind, would that have made a difference? Seven for all mankind? Citizens of humanity. They're genes. No, I've never heard of citizens of humanity. It's genes. I would have said Brad Pitt, too. It's genes.
Ladies, congratulations. I gotta say, the men have been getting smoked in this thing, dude. Women are far superior gender. Gender pyramid, they rock. Yeah, girls know me. Sorry about that, bro. We gave it a good try, public. I gave it my best. You did. Have I won one yet? We've tied. We tied. That's our best that we've done, Mike. A tie. Really? Yeah. We've never had a win, only a tie. M1 Ola, hang on the line. Thank you. Hang on the line. Great job, Rose. What was the prize? Angel or anarchy sunglasses. There you go. So since the ladies won, they're going to get angel. Sweet. If they choose. They can always go for the anarchies if they want to. Women are just as equal as men and can make the equal decisions, Jay. That's right. Give them the choice. I said angel is what she gets. They could. They could try it. They're anarchy. Speaking of angels. Is our Hillary back today? Should be. I think she is. I hope so. I think she is back today. 570-1949 is the number. If you want to text us, you can do that. Text is 949mikey at gmail.com. Did you guys know that an earthquake hit Chile again? That place has a lot of earthquakes. Yeah, they do. I know. What, California, you mean? Chile. A 6.5 struck at 432 Chilean time this morning.
And it was centered about 345 miles southwest of Santiago, the capital. No immediate reports of damage, though. Camp Pendleton is doing some controlled burning? No, this was an accident. They were doing some things that those guys do over there. Some tests and... Not tests. I'm looking for the exact story here. They do a lot of stuff where they're either... Training, blowing stuff up, that kind of stuff. Sometimes it's flammable. Yeah, they were doing some training exercises and it sparked a brush fire. And thousands of acres Camp Pendleton burned. Yeah, it's pretty crazy. The blaze started at 9.30 a.m. yesterday near the center of the Marine Corps station. And then at 5.45 p.m., the fire had scorched over 2,700 acres. Wow. Now, the flames were roughly 60% contained by last night. And they're saying it should all be good by today. But there was no damage. You know, nothing crazy happened. So that's the good news. Because that's a pretty, it's a lot of acres. How do we get to name this elephant at the San Diego Zoo? There's a baby elephant, a two-month-old baby elephant. And they are looking for a name. You can go on the website to name the elephant.
And it is the San Diego, no, just sandiegozoo.org. And you can do that now through July 25th and submit your names that you like. And then there's going to be some finalists and you can vote on them. That's something that basically only girls will do, I think. Mikey, best elephant name, go. Fred. Sienna, go. Gerard. Lauren, go. Grayson. Jay, go. Sir Humps a Lot. Oh, wow. I was going to say Pecker. Really? Pecker. Yeah. Yeah, and then by August 26th, they're going to announce the baby elephant's name. Pecker just won. I like Grayson. Sir Humps a lot. Sir Humps a lot. He's quick on the draw with that one. It'd be a good camel name. Octomom is in trouble again. Not Octomom, her doctor. Oh, the doctor. Yes, the doctor, he puts numerous, what is it, embryos? Yeah, yeah. And he did it to another woman. He's facing new allegations from the California State's licensing board that he planted too many embryos in one patient. Now, with Octomom, he apparently only put six embryos in her and one of them turned into triplets. Oh. Or no, one of them split into twins.
So that would be eight, six embryos. One of them split into twins. She had eight babies. And they're saying like, you know, why is this doctor doing that? Why is he putting so many in there? And one of them with this new patient resulted to death of one of the fetuses to the baby because there were so many in there. And so now he's facing some serious charges. So his deal is that he's putting too many. Yeah. What's his point? He's probably trying to increase the likelihood. Yeah. But it's like. Success rate, I guess. So that he can say that he has a big success rate. Right. But also, you know. The odds of delivering all healthy children when you deliver that many babies are slimmer and slimmer by the number. That's not good. No, I know it's scary. The city council here in San Diego, which apparently feels like we have a lot of money to spend. You know what? Let's just open up our checkbook and just throw some money around. We're going to throw some lights on the Coronado Bridge. Why not? We're going to build a new stadium. No, we don't know if they're going to put the lights on. We're thinking about it. They're thinking about it. Well, what they're not thinking about anymore is... This downtown library, because they approved it yesterday, $185 million for a new library. Isn't that $185 million? Have you ever been to the library downtown? I have. It's pretty old looking. Yeah. You know, and it needs a little revamping. But.
Man, that's a lot of money. What are they going to do? It's right downtown on the East Village. And they're scheduling for construction to start July 28th. And they're saying that it's going to be a nine-story dome-topped library with an auditorium, meeting spaces, sculpture garden, outdoor cafe, underground parking, and a charter high school that will house about 400 students. That's killer. For students to be there, that's a big purpose. $185 million? A lot of money. I'm the biggest nerd in the world. I love, love the library. You do? I love the library. I love the smell. I love the... books. I love everything about the library. I feel really out of place at the library. I love it, man. See, I love the smell. I think the downtown, the old one was kind of cool. Boy, that new one's going to be pimp, though. They're predicting the new library to open July of 2013. We should all get together and go down and read on Saturday. You don't even need a library. You just need your Kindle and you just go online and you can download as many books as you want for free. Yeah, but you missed the experience, bro. You missed the whole library experience. They're not looking for the experience. That's too bad because they're missing out.
I used to steal books when library. Well, you used to have to go out and milk your cows too. Are they missing that experience? Yeah. I stole a book. You stole a book? Yeah. I ripped the barcode out because I wanted it. What was it? Jim Morrison. No one here gets out alive. Creepy. Creepy. Who does that? I did. Woods. Do you still have it? No. I have another copy because I burned through that one real good. Wow. Yeah. You guys know who Haley Joel Osment is? Yes. Sixth Sense. I see dead people. The little kid from The Sixth Sense. How old is he now? He's at 49. 22. Oh, my gosh. Really? Yeah, we're getting old. Isn't that nuts? Wow. In your mind, don't you think he's still nine? Yeah. He was in a movie in 2007 called Home of the Giants. Yeah, no one. Black Bester hit. I don't think anyone saw that one. No. But he's going to be coming out back with a new movie called Sex Ed. It's supposed to be like a comedy. And he's playing a comedy. I'm not buying.
Haley Joel Osment in sex ed. You probably wouldn't even recognize him anymore. It's funny, though. He's going to be playing a college graduate who dreams of teaching high school algebra, but due to the budget restraints, ends up teaching sexual education despite being a virgin. Oh, boy. I believe the virgin part. Sounds funny. Yeah. Haley Joel Osment, I think, is a good reason that you need to maybe not have your kids do. You already played that song. Hi, Mikey. Hi, little bubs. Have I told you about the cops in Oakland? Oh, such a crazy story. It's pretty weird. Why cops aren't responding to 911 calls in Oakland? I'll tell you next. People are going to like this. The Mikey Show. It's a good time, you know what I mean? Call 570-1949 or text 949mikey at gmail.com. More of The Mikey Show coming up in minutes on FM 94.9.
Meet Jeff O'Brien, owner of a new Chevy Traverse. Well, last week what we had was a Honda Odyssey. We have four children, so we needed something with a lot of room. They're very active kids. They're doing sports and traveling around. There's usually a lot of hockey bags and lacrosse sticks in the car. And this car has a lot of room. We have a daughter who's 16, and she's a new driver. I feel very comfortable with her sitting here surrounded by what this car has to offer. She's starting to do a college search, so my wife took her on a four-day trip. The Cars. We love The Cars. Me too. Hey, tonight's 8 o'clock album, Pixies, Bossa Nova. Nice. That's a cool band name. The Pixies? Great band name. Pretty awesome. Yep. Woodsy had a great band name, found out that somebody has it. A California band has it. The Darlings? The Darlings. It's pretty awesome. Stolen. Really? Yep. I think they just came out like two weeks ago. They must have. And some friends in a band. Systematic. Yep. And they had to...
go through a whole trademark thing of seeing if anybody had that band name. Did anybody? It's like a whole process. Somebody did, but they were able to contact them. and talk them out of the name Systematic. Give them like 300 bucks or something. Basically, yeah. Something like some garage band and alcohol. Yeah. Systematic. That would be really hard to come up with an original band name now because you may have a brilliant idea and then it's like, man, someone else had that brilliant idea. Yeah. How many bands are there? Unless you're Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zero. That's true. Then you don't have to worry about it. That's a good point. You know what? I would be like, I think we're good, guys. Yeah, we're fine. Although Edward Scissorhands was like, eh. Yeah. It's a little clutch. You're treading, you know, you're walking a thin line. That's right. Why are cops not responding to 911 calls in Oakland? This is pretty nuts. They're doing some major layoffs up in Oakland, and the chief of police listed...
44 different situations in which if the layoffs happen, 80 officers being let go, then they're no longer going to be responding to these via 911 phone call. If this is a problem you're dealing with, you need to go online. And I'll tell you some of these problems. You cannot call 911 in Oakland if you have a burglary. Theft, embezzlement, grand theft, identity theft, false information to peace officer, dump waste or offensive matter, required or register as sex or arson offender, loud music, possess forged notes, pass fictitious check. I mean, there's a million of them. Embezzlement, extortion, attempted extortion. So now. What do you do? You call the police department. You go on the website. You go online and somebody's burglarizing your home. Yeah, that's the one I have. Because they're letting go of police officers and they're not going to be able to deal with 911 phone calls if everyone's calling the way they do. Burglary's not that big a deal. If you don't have the internet, just make sure you get over to the library. Yeah, or use your smartphone. If it's office hours. Use your smartphone. I know. Vandalism. Get over to the library. That's awful. Could you imagine? That's awful. Oh, gosh.
Someone's breaking in. I've got to get online and type. Wait a minute. I don't have internet, and the library's not open until 7 o'clock. Stop connecting. My internet's down. I wish I didn't have dial-up. My signal's so slow. It takes so long. That's pretty bad. That's awful. That's ridiculous. Woodsy said in his recap that he got an email from a buddy who lives in Chicago and recently got his PhD. Oh, yeah, he did. That's fantastic. Yeah, he got his PhD. Congratulations. It's a big deal. Public administration? What's wrong with that? Nothing. Nothing at all. Nothing at all. Except for the fact that he signs his emails now. Dr. Mastros? Yeah, Dr. Mastros. Is that how you say his name? Yep. Dr. Mastros. Public administration? It's a doctor? Yeah, really. Can you take a look at this pain that I have in my back, doctor? Oh, no, I can't actually. But I can help you follow that paperwork if you need. Oh, boy. That is weird. Doctor. Oh, yeah. And so. Obviously. That should be your bit with him, by the way. Hey, Doc. Hey, Doc. It's just pain. What's up, Doc? So my thing was I saw this email and, of course, just started to die laughing. Of course. And I've known this dude forever. So I ride him back, and then I call him. And I'm starting to talk to him on the phone, and I'm like, really, doctor? And I'm doing the bit with him, and he's like, what, dude? I worked hard. I worked my ass off for this degree. I'm like, oh, I get it. I get it.
I just think you're a clown, you know? And I finally, I was able, I was like, so, I was like, what do you introduce yourself as? He's like, Dr. Mastros. I'm like, you're not a freaking doctor. He goes, I am. I'm a doctor of public administration. Technically, he is. I said, you're an idiot. You're a doctor of idiot. What do you put an idiot Mastros on? So, I did the thing. I was like, when you call a restaurant, do you say Dr. Mastros? And he stopped and he's like, yeah, I have. I'm like, yeah, you're a moron. By the way, yeah, I have means Every time. Every time I call. What do you think went through his head when he was changing the signature on his email? He was like, I work long and hard for this. No longer Phil Mastros. Now it's Dr. Mastros. Well, the day before he got that degree. He was like, tomorrow I get to change this. I can change the email. That's like when you order anything online, they ask you if there's a prefix in front of your name. He's like, damn right. Yes, there is. He did everything. Changed the voicemail. Hey, this is Dr. Mastros. I'm not here. If you're going into labor, you better call the hospital because I can't help you. Called all of his credit card companies. How quickly can I get doctors? Yes. On my Amex. He probably can't help with paper cuts, though. Filing somebody in papers. Holy crap.
Yeah, the only thing, yeah. Look, I get it. I get it. I'm not discounting what he did at all. Congrats, but you're no freaking doctor, dude, okay? That's a pretty, that's pretty ballsy. I can't believe that even deserves a doctor title. I don't, why? PhD. PhD. You get a PhD, you're a doctor. Yeah. Be a doctor in philosophy, be a doctor in anything. Never understood it. We've just traditionally given that the MD, the doctor title. Is he married? Yes. Do you think his wife says, oh, yeah, my husband's a doctor? I'm sure his wife introduces him as doctor. This is Dr. Master. She'll get chokeslammed if she does it. Of course. I feel like the only place that applies is in a school, like a college or university setting. Yeah, you could do that. Call your professor Dr. So-and-so. No offense, but come on. You're not a doctor. You're not a doctor. That's so great. 570-1949 if you're a doctor of psychology. If you've received your PhD. Let's see. See, that's even different though, dude. Because you're helping patients. Oh, yeah. Well, psychology and psychiatry different. But you're still helping. You still see patients, I would assume. Oh, yeah. If you're a psychologist. Yeah. I think the kid's gone to a psychologist before. Probably. Yeah.
I think little boots has gone to a psychologist and a psychiatrist. I like the way you say little boots. That's right. Boots. You can text to, if you want to, 949mikey at gmail.com. Or you can give us a call. Let's see. Sienna's got her big baby shower coming up this weekend. We do. Is it wrong that I look on the baby registry every day to see what people have bought me? Yes. Every single. Is there a couple of things on there that you're like, oh, I hope somebody gets this? Yeah. Everything. Well, the thing is, is with baby showers, no one really goes off the registry. And so I keep looking and it's been like this certain number for basically the entire time. Really? I'm like, man! Really? It's okay because... Gold bars are expensive. They're really expensive. I want to know where to go. I want to go. I want to go. There's so many dumb things that you don't want to give as a gift that I have on there. Like a cover for my car that you put the car seat on so it doesn't make a mess on the seat. Stuff like that no one wants to give as a gift. They want to buy baby clothes and blankets and stuff like that. Which I need so I'm stoked on everything. Over under on what Sienna spends on this child. Oh gosh.
In the first three weeks. Yeah, yeah, yeah. $75,000? No, shut up. I wish. I'll take the over. No, I would say the over-under in the first three weeks, two grand. Over. Over? 100% over. Really? Well... I don't know. I've been really good so far. I really haven't. We got the crib and the big things that obviously we need to get on our own. But I haven't bought any clothes, really, except for one little cute Steeler onesie because Todd's a Steeler fan. And everything else, I'm just waiting for the shower. And once it's done, everything else I'm getting. It's fantastic. Sorry, Todd. Are you already dreaming up traditions and things like that that you'll have with the kid? Because now, listen, you're the artist. You get to dream up whatever you want to. I think there's so many new things happening. It's so exciting. Can't wait until she meets her Uncle Woods. I know. You're real sweet. I know. Bring her in. Oh, my gosh. You guys are all welcome at the hospital. Speaking of Uncle Woods, can I just tell you?
How I was on pins and needles when my brother Steve came this last weekend. All weekend. Because my brother Steve is Uncle Steve. Uh-huh. And Woods' name is Steve. It is? Yeah, it is. For those of you who didn't know. And when Jake first met Uncle Woods, he was known as Uncle Steve. But we had to change that. Yes. Because of my brother. And. Jake loves him some woods. Woodsy basically lives there. Yeah. He's there all the time. And so my brother came to town and Jake started. When Steve first walked in, we went, hey, look, bub, say hi to Uncle Steve. Aren't you excited? Your Uncle Steve is here. Your Uncle Steve is here. And he did. He goes, Uncle Woods? Uncle Woods? Oh, no. No, bub. No, Uncle Woods. Remember we talked about that 100,000 times? Did you at least warn your brother that it may happen? No. Because I was hoping Jake would just be like Uncle Steve. Did he throw a tantrum? No. And he has this thing where he says, Uncle Woods is my favorite grown-up. Oh, no.
And so I'm like, and I taught him. Did you teach him that one? No. And I told him, I said, you can't say that. You can't say that, Bob. You can't say that. Daddy's your favorite grown-up. And he didn't. He didn't when my brother Steve was there. He goes, Uncle Woods? And I, no, Bob, it's Uncle Steve. And I looked at him like, don't you say that thing. Don't you say that thing. At least if he said that's my favorite grown-up, you're like, hey, don't feel bad. We're his parents. And we don't fit into that. Oh, my gosh. That's true. Just wait until I present him with his new accordion. No. I will be. Are you really doing this? 100%. Have you talked to Rebecca? No. Yeah, Tucker. No, I don't. That's my little boy. He's my boy. He's getting an accordion. Jake really wants an accordion. Mike really doesn't see the meaning behind it. If for nothing else than to make him nuts, then I'm going to get it. You need permission from the parents. At least one of them. That's the good thing about being an uncle. You don't need permission. That's true. You give it right to him. You give it right to him. That's the best part of being an uncle.
Aquarian. Hillary is here today. Hi, Hill. How you doing? Just you wait till you adopt little baby Woodsy. I know it. Because revenge will be taken. That is sweet. My mom, over Fourth of July weekend, we went back to my hometown. My mom gave our daughter this, she calls it her trumpet. It's like a horn, but it has like piano keys on it. So she can play the notes. Oh, I know those. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, my God. Really, Mom? And you can just see the look in my mom's eye. Gotcha. Yep. It's the most annoying thing ever. Oh, my gosh. It's going to be great. So loud, always. It's going to be great. Oh, yeah, Woods. When we got that Vuvuzela, Jake was all over that Vuvuzela. And I said, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. That's for work. That's for work. And he said, will you bring it? And I said, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, son. He wants it back. Oh, yeah. He wants that Vuvuzela back. I'll bring him one. I'll get him one. Stop, Woods. I'll get him a Vuvuzela and an accordion. Woods. It's going to be great. Very musical. You've got to encourage your son's musical ability. We are. We are. We're encouraging. Let's get a bunch of squeak toys for all of us. That's fine. I love it. Hillary, what do you got coming up? I grabbed some black keys and space hog and broken bells and free energy and Bjork this morning. Sweet. Yes. Lovely and talented Hillary is up next.
