Thursday July 15, 2010
The awesome Footloose video is up and it’s kicking butt and taking names! 30 stingrays got their sting on at beachgoer’s expense and The Kid wants to harpoon them all. If rays, sharks, and jellyfish were not enough, there are killer bees on the land! M1s call in with their scary ocean stories and M1 Chubs sounds like he enjoys the hippy lettuce. Little Jake digs him some Mariah Carey pictures! Eh-HAH! LOB is recognized in public by her laugh. Sienna tells about her embarrassing moment with her belly out. Mikey is eventually going to have hernia surgery. WoS has big story about the Chargers team doctor who loves the sauce. M1 Hawk breaks down the British Open. Sarah Palin may not be happy with her daughter’s engagement but she sure is funny to listen too! To everyone’s amazement Mikey announces he’s going vegetarian. Is Mikey a Sally? Dave Matthews makes his return with an open robe and jokes about Mikey’s beard, and then he breaks out a hilarious song about Mikey’s face. Is there anything worse than…? LOB does a great voice automation voice. I wonder what Adam Ant would think of “Ant Art”. A huge topic on step siblings being real family or not is next. A jerk calls in saying Todd should never have married Sienna. Another great moment in radio occurs when Hoyle brings in a real Mariachi band to jam live! Hoyle proves he’s a radio genius as the ratings soar while the band cranks out one classic song after another. A M1 with a son in dance camp starts an argument. Would Jay let Jasper wear a dress? Jay used a nanny cam to catch a nanny abusing her privileges. After Rebecca calls in, Luke calls to put in his nanny requirements. Weather Girl Sabrina can sure use some motivation. Mad Mel part 4 has Whoopi Goldberg audio defending him and her own comments. Topper struts in to discuss Mel and bash Woodsy’s P90X. Crazy “pre-nubs” among celebrities gets a big discussion going. Donald Duck Hot or Not ruffles some feathers! LOB needs a speakeasy to get her Kombucha. Hilary admits she’s a hippy, and then scares Mikey about chemicals in everyday products.

KBZT San Diego, the Lincoln Financial Media Station. The new home of the Mikey Show. This is FM 94.9. Look at that. Thursday already. Hughes making his return. And something quite spectacular during the 8 o'clock hour. How do I know? Talk to our station manager, Hoyle. Something he's very excited about. Something he's excited about. And I'm going to tell you... I've never heard it on radio before. Nope. And so you're going to find out about it a little bit later. 570-1949 is our number. If I were you, I would text your friends and text your neighbors and even Facebook status it. Whatever you have to do to let people know you're listening after 8 o'clock this morning. It's going to be pretty crazy. Welcome to the show. Five people on the show. Myself.
I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show. I got my FM 94.9 work shirt on today. Rocking it real sweetly. Real good. Yeah. Woodsy is our sports guy. Yeah. He's got... When's it going to end? The self-call out. Yeah, he does the self-call out. Yeah! Woo! And he's our sports guy. He's wearing the white V-neck today. Weird. Every day. Every day. L-O-B is Lauren O'Brien. Yeah, I love that. She's the blonde over here to the right. She's getting the catcalls. From myself. That's right. She's rocking it real sweetly, too. And there's Sienna. We're just an auburned-haired girl over here. That's right. They don't just run the family. They gallop. They do. And Jay is our producer. He's 47. He's in the next room. And we also have Chris in here. and he's doing some phone screening for us. So if you want to hear the sultry sounds of his voice, call us right now, 570-1949. Get on the radio. We've got so much to do. First of all, I want to let everybody know our Footloose video is up at MikeyShow.com. If you go to MikeyShow.com. What was great for me, too, was reading all the comments on Facebook because we put it on Facebook yesterday. If you're not a fan,
Make sure you become a fan on Facebook right now. Go to Facebook.com. Search The Mikey Show. And we are getting so many comments on that and on my regular page. And it was fantastic. One of the things that really cracked me up about Facebook and some of the comments is some people didn't understand. Really? Well, they didn't understand because they haven't seen Footloose. They don't need to live in this country if they haven't seen Footloose. I know. You need to see them. You need to see Footloose. It's one of the most iconic scenes ever, ever. You got to see it. You got to go. And at least if you want to know the scene, first go to YouTube and search Footloose Dancing. OK, if you if you search Footloose Dancing, you'll see the actual and real scene with Kevin Bacon. And our videos on YouTube, too. Just in case you're not on Facebook, you can see ours up there. Yeah. Ours is there, too. Then go to MikeyShow.com and check out the parody with Woodsy playing the role of Kevin Bacon. You know, for me, it was really a labor of love. It really was. Because I love that movie so much. And to be able to recreate that scene was genius. Yeah. So fun. So you can go see it. We're such clowns. It's so ridiculous. And the thing that I thought was cool about it, too.
was there's Woodsy recreating Kevin Bacon's part. And then myself, Lauren, and Sienna, we wrote ourselves into the script. We did. We gave ourselves new roles. I'm sorry, but I played Kevin Bacon's Love Interest for a split second. Yeah, you did. And you played the cop. Yeah. That's great. Yeah. I wrote myself in. Some good stuff. Well, there are scenes that we do that are from the movie. There are scenes that we do that are not from the movie. And if you want to know what we mean, go to MikeyShow.com and check out that video, which is becoming quite viral. That's what we wanted, man. It's pretty cool. Make it viral. My favorite part is Mikey bobbing his head. What's up with your mic, bro? What's up with that mic? I don't know. What's up with it? I'm hearing you from Chris's microphone. You put a soda can around it? Get the duct tape out. I know it. 5701949, give us a call. I'm writing a note to myself to mention to you what happened yesterday at my doctor's appointment. Because if I don't write it down, I'm not going to remember. And it's, boy, it's really uplifting. That's crazy. Yeah, it is.
And I'll tell you all about it in just a little bit. Big news out there. A lot of animal news. Yeah. There's a lot of animal news out there today. Yes. So we know that the weather has not been great the past few weeks, but now it's amazing. It was beautiful the last two days. And so everyone's going to the beach. Now, things you need to be careful about when you go to the beach when the weather gets warm are the animals that live in the water. Right. They like warm water, and they've been used to people not being in the beach, so the animals have been going closer to the shore because there's been no people in the water. Yeah. Well, now, all of a sudden, the beaches and the water are filled with people. Oh, boy. So there have been some incidents. Well, we heard about the black jellyfish yesterday. There's a bunch of black jellyfish out there, which L.O.B. loves, but a lot of us. Only the black kind of jellyfish. That's right. She's like, well, white jellyfish are okay, but the black jellyfish. So yesterday along the beautiful beaches of La Jolla, there were a few stingray encounters. A few.
And by a few, I mean 30. Oh, oh my gosh. Are you kidding? 30 people were stung by stingrays yesterday. At least. At least. I've never heard. I've lived in San Diego since 1994. Never heard that ever. I'm telling you, it's because it went from freezing cold weather to gorgeous. And all of a sudden, everyone is in the water. Because the water was never really that cold. It was the air that was cold. Maybe they get. And so the stingrays have been up, you know. No, it's natural selection. They've been up on the coast, on the shore, just hanging out because there hasn't been any people. They don't need to worry about them. Yeah. And so two people were hospitalized. Wow. Due to allergies, most likely, because if you're allergic to bees, the odds are you're allergic to stingrays as well. Right. And there's a lot of people that are allergic to bees. I don't want to get stung by fish. Oh, I don't either. At all. I don't either. Not any part of me wants to get stung. I was watching on the news. There was pictures of lifeguards holding little kids that were stung. Adults. Adults crying. Oh, my gosh. Yeah. There was one girl who was about a teenager, and she was surfing out there. And she said, you know, I know to shuffle. I've been surfing for a while, and so I always shuffle. But when I fell off my board, I landed on one.
Yikes. Yeah. I fall off my board a lot. A lot. I could get stung in the throat feasibly. Yeah. Feasibly, I could. The odds of that are so low. But I fall. I fall backwards off my board. At one point, the lifeguard... Only if your throat hits him. Yeah, keep your throat and hands and feet. Try not to limp throat first. Or heart first. Maybe get a stingray throat guard. Maybe I trademark that. Maybe I wear... Would a wetsuit help? No, just wear a suit of armor. Would an armor suit help? Yes. Go out there dressed like King Arthur. Let me do that. That'll help you surf real well. Chain link vests. Lifeguards said at one point they were treating 11 people at the same time. Maybe we get harpoons. At the same time. LLB, here's my reasoning. When you look at the horizon and you look at the ocean, you see forever. They have all that space. Give me these 50 yards. They're going to retreat. Like Sienna said, they were used to being up where it's warmer, where the sun, they can bask a little bit. They'll back up. The day before yesterday, there were 20 stingray encounters. Oh, my gosh. Yeah. Can't call yourself an animal lover and then want to harpoon things. I am an animal lover, but I'm a land animal lover. Let's put it that way. Hey, listen. I don't like fish I can't see. My deal is. Wow.
My deal is I'm concerned that it went from 20 to 30. You'd think it would go down. I think there was just more people at the beach yesterday. A ton of people yesterday. Wouldn't that scare them off? That's what I'm saying. Aren't they going to get scared off? They will. They will, yeah. Will they? But, I mean. I live in La Jolla and La Jolla Shores has always been the beach that has the stingrays. Yeah. Like there's other beaches there that I've never even seen one in my life. La Jolla Shores, Black's Beach, they do. Where would those be? Yeah. What? Where are those that have no stingrays? That's where I want to go. Well, I don't know if they have none. I've just never seen them or never seen anyone get stung there. That's where I want to go. La Jolla Cove, Windensee, Marin Street. You know, you get, you gotta go get your stingray whistle. You blow your stingray whistle, and they go away, you know? You're like, hey, you blow your stingrays. Here's the bit. When I fall off my board and my foot grazes like grass that's in the ocean, I freak out. So I can't imagine what's going to happen when inevitably I get stung. I've hit stingrays before. I have, too. I mean, fortunately, not the barbs.
What do you hit? Like, their wings? Their little, yeah, their little, I don't know what those things are. Does it brush you up? Yeah. Yeah, like, sometimes they're lifted off the sand a little bit, and, like, my foot has hit the side of it. Yeah. And they slap their back with the tail. Gross. So, if your foot's on their back, you get... You should go dive out there and see how many there are. No, I will not dive out there. There are thousands. It's amazing. Oh, don't talk about it. It's freaking me out. You know what, though? There's parts of... The world, like parts of Australia where there's those box jellyfish, you can't even go in the water. Yeah. There's parts where there's sharks everywhere you can't go in. Get me out. Let me out of here. Get me the hell out of here. I need part of them. So you guys going to go surfing this weekend? No, I'm not either. My husband last night said, I'm waiting till winter. I surfed one time, now I'm done. I'll see Todd in November. You know what I want to do? I want to wait until you report, well, there were two incidences yesterday. And that's when I'll feel safe to go back. Still won't feel 100% safe. I know. And then the other big news concerning animals is the beehive.
One safe story to the next. Right? Yeah. Not. Yes. At Balboa Park, an area where, you know, there's hundreds of walkers, joggers, bikers every day. Yeah. There is a beehive that just hangs above the path. And there is an estimated 2,000 honeybees hanging directly above this pathway. Yeah. My guess is that they are Africanized because they say that most of the bees in California are. Yeah. Um, there's, they don't think these ones are. They don't? What does that mean? Africanized are Africanized honeybees and they are the ones that attacked. Remember Amanda and Sanitas died about a month ago. It means that they're more aggressive. Yeah. The Africanized ones are more aggressive. Yeah. How did, what did they do? They tested these bees and they said, no, none of them are. Yeah. There've been people looking at it. The agricultural pest control was there. They're, you know, they were supposed to get rid of it last night. I haven't seen any updates yet, so hopefully it's gone, but I don't know if you can just do that in one night. I wonder where you put it. They wanted to wait until nighttime because when it's cooler, the bees are calmer. So I don't know. But I guess pedestrians have been reporting this hive for about a week and no one's done anything. And then yesterday was all over the news. This picture of the beehive right above the path where you can see people walking. It's enormous. Yeah, that's a great question, L.O.B. Where will they put it? I don't know. They remove it. Where do they put it? Maybe in Jay's attic? Yeah, Jay's attic. They have places. Do you remember what bees say when it's hot out? What do they say?
Swarm. Get it? Oh, boy. It's Swarm. It's Swarm. Swarm. 570-1949. People are calling to scare Woods. Yes. M1 Moose is on the line from San Diego. Go ahead, Moose. It's actually Boose. Boose, what's up? Not much. How you guys doing? Good. Woodsy, man. I just wanted to give you a little, you know, a little peace of mind at the beach. Several years ago, I was a sponger and out boogie boarding and was new to San Diego and didn't know what I was doing. I got caught in a rip current and was scared to death because I could, you know, it was getting dark and I was getting pulled farther away from the beach. And so I'm already panicked. And it's me and a friend. And in my panic, I felt something brush my leg. And seriously, I almost started crying. I was so freaked out. And my friend convinced me, you know, was trying to convince me that it was just my imagination, that I was, you know, just hysterical and I didn't show up. And then after I felt it brushed my legs, a few seconds goes by and something bit me. Oh, God. Oh, wow. Yeah. I was done. What was it? I had no idea. It was something small.
Hermit crab. Well, you know what it was? It was actually me. I was swimming out there at the time. Tattoo, what were you doing in the water? I was swimming out there, and I was little, and I bumped up against him. Why'd you bite him? Because I was hungry. I did not die for so long. I was hungry, and I said, oh, look, it's some white meat named goose. So did you fly out of the water? Well, we were caught in the rip current, and so we had a friend there, and he was able to keep me somewhat level-headed, and we figured out how to get out of it. And we got back to the beach, though, and I had blood running down my leg. Ooh. Wow. I think you maybe kicked a little bit of a reef or something. Maybe coral, yeah. Hey, you know when you get bit. Yeah. No, it was definitely a bite. And, yeah. I'm glad you made it. At first, they thought that it could have been tattooed because it was small, whatever it was that bumped up against it. Upon further investigation, realized that it was child actors Haley Joel Osment and Dakota Fanning. Highly unlikely, but sometimes in that part of summer, you can find that out there.
I swear, if you ever want to see a grown man act like a complete three-year-old girl, just get him in the water. Yeah. Bring him in the water. Absolutely. Yes. Oh, God. Oh, I found something. Scary. So does Boos, do you go out regularly now? Kind of like every day? Yeah, not every day. Oh, you do? This was years ago. Yeah, I'm over it now. Good. Good man. It's going to happen. I want to get the first one out of the way because I know it's coming. I've never been stung. But you're not me. Yeah, you're not Woods. If it's going to happen to anybody, who's it going to happen to? Hey, Steve Woods, dead of great white shark attack. No. Seriously. You'll be like, it'll be like a bee. It'll be like a bunch of bees, only a bee. Stingrays. Right. You know? You know what, though? Everything happens to Woods, but somehow he gets out of it. He does. He steps in it and doesn't stick to his shoe. Yeah. If you know what I mean. Something's going to happen weird and he's not going to feel pain. Yeah. Shark's going to...
cruise right by me and be like, yeah. It'll be Stingray with like the cure to AIDS. Yeah. Stingwood. Not that I have AIDS. Well, no, but we'll figure it out. Yeah, we'll figure it out. We'll catch it. Through your deal. You know what I mean? We'll be like, wow, Steve got stung or Woods got stung, but I know. But we found out. Thought we got the cure to AIDS, which is great. Woods, he's now a hero. Yeah, now he's a hero. He always gets the ultimate scare. M1 Jason from Encinitas. Yeah. What's up? Hey, how you guys doing? Good. Hey, on the bee thing, well, two things. On the bee thing, I was seeing in the newspaper yesterday, an elderly couple in Lemon Grove got attacked by them. Yeah, those were the Africanized bees. Oh, were they? Yeah. These guys, they chased them into their house. Yeah, crazy. One got stung 30 times, one got stung 40 times. You hear more and more about it. Yeah. Let me all just stay inside. I'm telling you, man, like those bees, they're nasty, man. Those Africanized bees are nasty. Especially if you're allergic to them. Oh, yeah. Back to the ocean thing. I mean, I grew up surfing in the ocean. Man, I tell you what. I was on a scene a couple of years ago where there was a fatality from a shark attack. Oh, my God. You were, what are you, an EMT or something? Yeah. Oh, wow.
What are you doing? Was it the Solana Beach? Yeah. Dude, you were an EMT for the Solana Beach attack? We were there. Oh, my. That was crazy. It was pretty gnarly. I don't think I will ever be back in the water. I mean, I've been surfing my whole life. Oh, wow. Really? It will make me a little bit uneasy. I'm not saying I'll never go back in the water, but I'll definitely have kind of a new respect for looking around. You haven't been in since? You haven't been in since, Jason? Jason, can you hear me? Oh, we lost. Oh, bummer. He's going on a rescue. I wonder if he was pulling our proverbial. It didn't sound like it. That guy was swimming way out, though. If you stay close to shore, the odds are way down. Maybe I take up skimboarding. You don't want to detract from that fatality, obviously. But that's one that you've heard in a long time. I don't know how many years. And that could have been some whacked out, weird, crazed shark that's not like the other ones.
We don't know. Think about how many people go swimming every day here. For sure. M1 Chubbs from OB. Hi, Chubbs. Hey, what's up, mate? Not too much. You do the shuffle truffle? Yeah. No, I'm sitting here watching the surf right now. It's nice, actually. Thank you. So, I was listening. First of all, I want to say I really love your show. Thank you, bro. And Mike, you get me every Friday, mate. Thank you, man. And I want my own pepper pots, mate. Sweet. You have a pepper pot in there. Anyways, my story was I turned the radio on a little late this morning, and I started hearing shark stories, so I can tell you my shark story. Okay. I got to, I went to Oaxaca, to Puerto for the first, and this was years ago. And so I went, first thing I wanted to do is do what everything everyone else was doing is go and surf. So I go and I get a surfboard, and the guy's like, I wouldn't go in. straight ahead. He's like, I'd go over on the beginner's side. As soon as I heard that, the beginner's side would be my bathtub and I'd fly back home. Yep. I was like, no, I was adamant. I was determined to get through, you know? Hey, M1 Chubbs. M1 Chubbs. M1 Chubbs. Yeah. I'm going to ask you a question real quick. All right. Go on. Have you had any marijuana cigarettes this morning? Okay. That sounds like an answer to me. Go ahead.
Are you serious? Why would you ask me? Like, because I'm animated? No. Because you're stoned. No, it's early. Maybe he's just a little sleepy. Yeah, maybe not. All right. Well, anyway, chubs, what happened? All right. So I go through, right? And he tells me not to go, but I had to go through this set. So I finally took me ages, but I finally got through and I was like, whoa, I can't drop in on this. This is huge. And I hadn't been in the water in ages. And I was already knackered. So I think to myself, you know what I'm going to do is I'm going to paddle into the bay part, right? You know, just for exercise. Wrap it up, Chubbs. I need you to get right to the point. So I start paddling towards the bay. And I finally get to the point where I can't move anymore, right? Literally, my arms are rubber. I cannot move anymore. Dude, please get to the point. Please get to the point. So there's all these fishing boats. Oh, my gosh. All right. Well, thank you for the call. I love you, Jeff. That was really great. Oh, my goodness. Don't get up, my friend. Oh, my gosh. Hey, listen. Oh, Jeff. If I'm able to survive that, I can survive any stingrays or shark attack there is. Listen.

Walgreens, there's a way to stay well. I'm Stacey Cohen, FM 94.9. And now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. I don't really like to swim, unlike most Latinos. Lauren. I got a little pepper up my nose. Had to sneeze. I can put down a 20. pack of chicken nuggets, no problem. I'm like a little bit Irish. There's everything white, I am. And Jake. No, I didn't cry. I'm a man. On FM 94.9. Remember how yesterday I said that before I had kids, I actually wondered to myself, when people would tell me stories about their kids, I would be like, that's nice, that's nice. It was never as cute to me when they would tell me about their kid that said the darndest thing. It was just never as cute to me as it was to them. And then I had kids and was really careful in what I would share with people because I didn't want them to be like, that's really cute. It went in their head. They were thinking, dude, I don't care. I don't care. This isn't something that Jake necessarily said but did that I thought was just funny. And I was belly laughing. I very rarely belly laugh.
Anyway, I just don't belly laugh. Like, where I'm just like, oh my gosh, it's killing me? Which made him laugh hysterically. Like, he's laughing hysterically. I was working on my laptop last night in bed. Weird. Nude. And, no, wearing skivvies. Always wear skivvies if Jake's around. Jonies. Man panties. Yeah, you know, because that's just creepy to me. I don't want my boy crawling around while I'm nude in bed. Watch his hands. And so, Jake is... sitting there and he's using my iPad because it's got a bunch of apps on there for little kids. I look over at him and he knows how to use his finger to flip through stuff. I look over at him and he is flipping through the most provocative photos of Mariah Carey. Oh my God. I mean. She's not naked, but she's like, it's like pictures of her in high heels, like bent over with, you know, and I look over and I go, oh, my God. And he had been sitting there for a while flipping through, you know, all these of Mariah Carey. And I go, oh, my God. I go, Bob, what are you doing? And he didn't say anything. He just kept flipping. I'm like, what are you doing? So I go to grab the.
iPad. And he holds onto that iPad. Like, no, no, no. And he's not going to give it to me. I go, bub, bub, let me see. And he goes, I want to look at this. That was his words. I want to look at this. And he kept flipping through. And I had to physically pull Mariah Carey's provocative photos away from Jake. Do you know where he got it? Where? I have an app on my iPad. And what I did was I had to go back to the main screen and say, bub, what did you press? Flickster, which tells you what movies are playing. Yep. They've got like galleries of actors. I mean, actors in general. There's just actors. Apparently he, you know, his preference is Mariah Carey. He likes chicks. Yeah. I was going to say, how big is the part of you that was like, that a boy. A little bit. You were like, that a boy. I think a lot. Maybe a lot. Maybe a lot, but still. And it was a sigh of relief, boys. He likes the hot ones. So I called Rebecca, obviously. That's what I do. Walkie-talkie. I called her. She was at the store. She was downstairs. She was downstairs. And I said, hey, can you come up here? And shared the story with her. And she goes, see, apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
Do you have some sort of affinity towards Mariah Carey? I don't. I really don't. I really don't. I mean, I think she's hot. Yeah, she's hot. You know. She was. She's got two great qualities. Yeah, Jake thinks that she's hot. That is so funny. He's three. Start with D. Yeah. This was kind of funny. Lauren got recognized yesterday by her laugh at Kehlani's. No way. Yeah. No way. What happened? I was standing in line trying to figure out because I've only been there a thousand times what I was going to get. I can do it right now. I can order. Hawaiian food. Well, I just kind of like vacillate between like two or three items. So I was just like, which one do I want? And then I laughed at the something that the person I was with said. And then. The one girl that was working there who I haven't seen yet, she goes, is that? And the other girl's, mm-hmm. The girl that we know. I wish I knew her name so I didn't have to refer to them both as the girl. She said, yeah, it is. She goes, oh, my gosh. I totally know who you are, and I know because of your laugh. That's fantastic. That's fantastic. Lauren has the most unique laugh I've ever heard. That's one way to put it. Yeah.
My wife does it at home all the time. She does. It's the best. But they said they missed her. Now I do it. I go, ha ha! Yeah. Ridiculous. Real quickly, every single person on the show had something interesting in their recap. Which is so funny that you said that because I looked at everyone's recap today and I go, all of our recaps suck. Really? I didn't think so. I had nothing. I was like, what did I do today? All of ours were really short. What did Jay do yesterday? Went and rode his bike for 10 miles, did 25 push-ups, 50 sit-ups, 10 chin-ups. He has been inspired because of Woods, which I think may be a male thing. I think that when guys start to get in shape, guys around them are like, oh, really? You started the whole thing, dude. You did. I think it's just a human nature thing. Girls, same thing. Girls do the same thing, but let me tell you that Jay... He can work out. I'm gonna. Woods is doing P90X. Yesterday did what? What was he yesterday? Bison tris. Biceps and triceps? Juicy. Oh, my gosh. So good, man. I got out of there. I don't know if I talked to you after before, but I was like, whoo! I talked to you right after. I was like, yeah, yeah, yeah. He goes, I'm all swole. I was all swole up. Really? It felt great. He's starting to feel good now. I mean, my body.
Yeah. Aches. But I'm, it's, it's kick ass. Dude, you're getting all, you know, hooked up completely because he's getting in shape and you're getting LASIK on. Manana. Tomorrow. Tomorrow. Wow. I'm so excited. It was crazy. The guy that wasn't going to, you know, change when he got to California and now has changed his eating. Yeah. Changing his eyes. Yeah. Not wearing cargo shorts. No cargo. Flip flops on right now. California kid. Assimilation. California kid. How long have you had those? Since I was 14. Not these, this model, but I've had glasses since I was 14. Glasses are contacts. You know what's amazing is that how old is the prescription you're wearing right now? Probably a year, year and a half. So you know what? When you get this LASIK, you'll probably have better vision than you do with those glasses on right now. I hope so, man. And not having to put these things on every day. Being able to sit up and go, wow. Being able to go to the ballpark without contacts in. Being able to surf. Surf without contacts. Being able to ski in just sunglasses and not. big giant goggles when it's 50 degrees out. You know, I mean, it's for me the greatest thing that's ever happened to me. I know I oversell a lot of stuff. This is it. Clearview. What is it? What's a place that's hooking you up? Clearview. Clearview Eye. Clearview Eye and Laser Medical Center. Sweet. Dude, that's rad that they got you hooked up. So great, dude. We had glasses the same amount of time. We have? That's 10. Yeah. Really? It sucks.
Sienna was saying that she went shopping for nursing clothes and stuff. Are you becoming a nurse? No. No, for nursing as in breastfeeding. Oh, okay. Why didn't you just say breastfeeding clothes? Well, listen to this. She bought a waistband that's supposed to put her hips back into place after the baby's born. Yeah. Which made me think to myself. hasn't mother nature been providing that for thousands and thousands of years it's some people say that your hips never go back to the way they were so this helps and it helps do it faster because what do you mean like sexy like like it makes your hips back to the same like right now with the baby growing my hips are going wider and wider and wider to make room for when the baby comes out yeah and so i want those hips right back the way they were before And after the baby's born, I mean, you know your wife just had twins. It takes a while for your stomach and everything to shrink back into place. Yep. So that's supposed to help. Wow. It was real fun as she demonstrated it on me in the store in front of everyone. Oh, wow. Did she really?
She's like, take off your clothes, dude. No, I was wearing leggings and she made me lift up my dress because I had leggings on. Oh, wow. And so I'm sitting there holding my dress up, like, I mean, not showing my boobs or anything like that, but I had to, like, so embarrassing. It's embarrassing. My whole stomach was exposed. Oh, my. Really? Yes. Holy crap. I know. I went to the doctor yesterday, had a really, really embarrassing moment where I was walking into the bathroom and someone was walking out. They kind of giggled like, hey, hi, as a female. I hope so. Yeah, as a female. And went in the bathroom and I closed the door and I went, oh, my. Did somebody wreck some shop? Oh, did somebody wreck some shop? Somebody went to war in there and it was her? Yes, they did. Holy cow. Yeah. And I thought, oh, my gosh, that's got to be so embarrassing for them. I hope I don't see them. Or was it a one person? Yeah, it was one person. One banger. Could have been the person right before her. I do that like in this building when we have the one in the hallway that's only a one person. If I approach and get hit with the wave, I'm not using it because I'm not going to be the one accused of it. I would tell people. I would say that wasn't me. I want you to know. I know I don't know you. I'll probably never see you again. But I need you to know from my peace of mind and from me going to sleep tonight, I need you to know that I did not defecate in that restroom.
I did not, in fact, do that. And I wouldn't. And I'm sorry for what you're about to experience. But no, it wasn't me. And here's my card if you need to do counseling or whatever. I would probably say the exact same thing. But you know what they would think? And imagine them saying it in Woods' voice. Yeah, sure it wasn't, pal. Yeah, exactly. Thanks a lot, pal. There's other people in this building besides you. Went to the doctor, found out that I have my hernia is back and that I need to have surgery. What was really disappointing about that for me was that I've been working out and getting healthy. This is the healthiest I've ever been, probably. And need to have surgery that will keep me out of commission for six weeks. I can't lift anything for six weeks. Now, I can work, obviously. I can come back to work. So that's not going to be an issue. So we won't miss too much time on the air when I have to have the surgery, which, by the way, I don't know when I'm going to have the surgery because I've got some sort of reflux problem. They're going to do an upper GI where I swallow the barium. Yeah. And they're going to do that and determine whether or not I need to also have surgery for that. And they'll do it both at the same time. Holy cow. But the thing that was discouraging was, well, I'm going to miss six weeks of not being able to lift weights and do what I've been doing. Yeah. But like I said to Jay this morning.
And obviously, it doesn't mean that I can't get back to where I was and even go further. So I'm going to. And cardio, Mike. Like, that's what I told you. You're doing a whole lifestyle change. You've changed your eating habits. You're just being healthier overall. Yeah. So don't give up that stuff. And then you can still, like, do cardio things as long as you don't exert yourself too much. Yeah, I'll get back. I'll get back. And a small bump in the road, but we'll get it done. We have something very special planned for you just after 8 o'clock with Hoyle, and Dave Matthews makes his return to the Mikey Show, too. I'm going to tell you in one second about that Chargers team doctor, but first of all, the second half begins tomorrow for the Padres. They're going to take on the Diamondbacks tomorrow at 7.05. This is a call to arms, okay? Well, to the Padres and the Padres fans, okay? Padres fans. Get out there and support your guys. You're two games up in the West. The Rockies are coming on strong. The Dodgers are always tough. And the Giants have a great pitching staff. Expect them to be around. They're going to need you out there. Now, a call to the Padres. Make some moves. Get your fans excited about coming out and seeing this team. Make some moves. Houston's looking to get rid of Lance Berkman, Roy Oswald. Go get those two guys.
Really? Yeah, make it right. Those guys are going to be out there. We need bats and we need another starting pitcher. So this is a call, you know, if you guys want to win, now's the time. Now, actually, Mike, Padres closer Heath Bell said that everybody's really happy for them, but nobody thinks they can get the job done. Cut one. They're all happy for us, but I don't think anybody truly believes in us. You know, I think, yeah, you guys have a nice season. You're doing really good. Colorado's going to catch up. Or Dodgers are going to catch up. Or San Francisco. You know, we're just going to go second half and prove everybody wrong and just go, we believe we're going to win the whole thing. We don't believe we're going to the playoffs. We believe we'll win the whole thing. It's a good attitude to have, man. That's the goal. Let's do some of this. This will get you fired up. That's what I'm talking about, right? Wow, could not make me less fired up. Listen, this is the official Padre song. Came out years ago. As cheesy as it is. No, I can't even say that. As cheesy as it is, it still gets me fired up. It just makes me want to eat cotton candy or something. Yeah, it does. Ride a Paris wheel? Yeah. Hey, listen, in 1982 when this first came out, I can tell you, it got people going. Roller skating with a Walkman on? That's what I'm talking about. Okay, so Chargers team, Dr. David Chow is in trouble. This is crazy. He wrote basically what he did. He wrote 108 prescriptions to himself since June of 2008.
Um, the DEA has said there is no reason to believe that he's using this medication himself. Um, so he's been in trouble before the States filed a complaint against him for basically alcohol abuse. He's had two instances where he got in trouble with the law regarding alcohol. Um, so this thing is not over by a long stretch. They're going to look deep, deep into this thing. And, um, you know, this guy's in, could be in some serious trouble. Oh, That's terrible, man. And a lot of this stemmed from when Kevin Ellison got arrested with those Vicodin. I mean, you know, and he's now since been released. So it should be interesting. This is the cover of the Union Tribune today. Front and center. Yeah, front and center. The biggest story in San Diego today is Charger team doctor David Chow, who has been arrested? No, he has not been arrested. Okay. He hasn't been arrested. He's being investigated. Boy, they are looking into him with a fine tooth comb, my friend. The ESPYs were last night in L.A. and some pretty funny stuff went down. I think we'll play some audio of that later. But here's a couple of the big winners. Drew Brees actually won Best Male Athlete. I like this guy. Cut two. Thank you. First of all, I'd like to say congratulations to the other nominees. It's an honor just to be here. I'd also like to first and foremost thank my wife.
My son, Balin, who's at home, in bed, I hope. My other son, who will be here in three months. You're such an inspiration to me. I love you so much. That was the little boy that he was in the picture with after the Super Bowl. I'd also like to thank all those who sacrificed so much for me and believed in me along the way. I'd like to thank our head coach, Sean Payton. I'd like to thank our general manager, Mickey Loomis, and our ownership, the Benson family. I'd also like to thank my team. The offensive line, they put you guys too far back. You guys should be front row. You deserve it. And I'd also like to thank the Houdat Nation. We love you. Thank you. You hear that? You know what that is? Get out of there. Get off the stage. You're done, pal. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's a class act. And then Sean White, Carlsbad's own Sean White, won Best Male Olympian. Cut three.
All right. Thank you so much. I mean, I can't describe what it means to be up here. To come here year after year and to be on stage in front of you guys, it's a true honor. So thank you. Thank you, the fans. Thank you, everybody that supported us. Without you, our event wouldn't really be here. And thank you, my family, my friends, all the supporters. And thank you, USA. That's awesome. Very nice. Absolutely. Flying tomato. The flying tomato. Red Zeppelin. Red Zeppelin. And finally, today, the British Open starts. And we've got a very special guest on the phone. I think you guys may know who it is. M1 Hawk. M1 Hawk is Woods' dad. He's our golf correspondent. That's right. Woods' dad. And he is our golf correspondent. How you doing, Mr. Woods? I'm doing great, guys. I think it was a pretty classy move for the Mikey Show to send me over to St. Andrews to cover it. How great is that? We've got a big budget for you. We've got to take care of our own. That's right. There you go. I've got a question for you, M1 Hawk. Yes, sir. They say that St. Andrews in the past has been good to Tiger, right? He's won the last two times he's played there. So it's been really good for him. And, you know, it's wide open. He can just...
Keep it away from the right side. It's really a left side golf course. So if you can keep it on the left side as far as he hits it, he'll play really well. Is it true that St. Andrews is a driver's? What I heard is this place is made for Tiger. Guy's great on those long drives, right? And that's what this place is. That's right. And like I said, it's a right to left course. And he can hit it over most of the trouble. So it sets up really well for him. He's probably one of the three stories so far. John Bailey shot a 66. Wow. He last won here at St. Andrews in 1995. Tiger, the story is his new putter, first putter that he's changed in 11 years. He won 13 majors and 83 million with the old putter. Wow. Oh, my God. It's got grooves in it to get the ball rolling faster because the groove is a little slower at St. Andrews. M1 Hawk, this is a Nike putter now, right? It is. It is. It's a prototype, but the thing that's key, it doesn't seem like it should be, but the shaft and the weight are exactly the same as his old putter, but it's got the insert grooves that get the ball rolling faster, and on slower greens, that's important to get the ball rolling. M1 Hawk. Does my dad know some freaking golf, or does he know some golf, dude? Not only does he know golf, but he's really good at this, and I'm not kidding. M1 Hawk, I got a question.
Yes, sir. Is this, hey, this really is going to help my golf game, or is this an act of desperation for Tiger Woods? No, this is, I think what's going to happen is on these kinds of greens, I don't think he'll stick with this putter forever, but it's really good for him here. So on courses like this, he'll use it, and it proved well today. He missed one fourth, shot 67, and he's tied for fourth right now. Wow. So this round is done. Yeah, he's done. 67. John Daly's done. And the other story was Rory McIlroy. He's the 21-year-old kid from Northern Ireland, shot 63 to tie the lowest round ever in the major. Wow. Oh, my gosh. 63. That is a kid, too. In a major. When you look at this guy, this kid from Ireland, he looks like he's 12 years old. Absolutely. That's great. M1 Hawk, thank you. You're fantastic. He's a man. Whenever we talk about these majors, we've got to have you on. Every time. I'm happy to do it. I always look forward to it. Thank you, M1 Hawk. See you, Pop. Have a great show. There you go. That's Woods' dad. Beast. Let me tell you. Hey, I'll tell you something. Ten years ago on the golf course before he had problems with his leg, dude, that guy was filthy to watch play. Just filthy. Yeah. His nickname was Gorilla because he hit the ball a mile. Bristol Palin is in the news today, and it's because she's engaged? Yeah. To who?
Her baby daddy, Levi Johnston. Oh, boy. Are you kidding? Yeah. Now, this is the second time they've been engaged. This is the second time they've been engaged. But as I'm sure you are all thinking, wasn't he a total D to her entire family? Right. Yes, he was. And that's why about a month ago, he issued a public apology, apologizing for everything he put Sarah Palin and their family through. Now they are getting married, Bristol and Levi. They apparently reconciled about three months ago during a custody discussion about their 18-month-old son, Trip. And he proposed two weeks ago. Here's the statement that he issued to Sarah Palin. What's the matter with you people? I was joking. Don't you know a joke when you hear one? I don't find that very funny at all. I don't blame you, Sarah. I don't blame you at all. Michael or Levi. I don't blame you. I don't find this to be a joke. It's not. Or anything. Marriage is not something to be poking fun at. That's right. Moosing around. No, messing around. You said moosing. I meant messing. Messing around. I read it in all the magazines. I know you did. I know. You don't read magazines. I read all publications. No, you don't. No, you don't. Well, the Palins.
They just found out about this engagement along with the rest of us. And as of yesterday, they have released a statement. Maybe Sarah read it herself. Yes, Sarah, read your own statement if you don't mind. Oh, okay. Go ahead. Put it in crayon because we thought that might be easier for you if you put it in crayon. As parents, we obviously want what is best for our children. But Bristol is ultimately in charge of determining... What is best for her and her beautiful son? And Bristol believes in redemption and forgiveness to a degree most of us would struggle to put in practice in our daily lives. You said most of us. I said most. All right. Sounded like you said most of us. There's a little bit more, but basically she gives her... acceptance to it. You guys have me cracking. I give it a blue thing. Thank you. I have an announcement to make. Yeah, I do. And don't everybody freak out when I tell you. And don't laugh at me. Don't make fun of me. Really?
This is the safe tree when we come back, all right? No, this is the filet bird. It's not the filet bird. It's not the filet bird. Don't make it the filet bird. It's on M1site.com. It's on our Facebook fan page, the new Footloose video that we did. It's one of the most famous scenes in Footloose where Kevin Bacon, he's so upset, he does what all of us do when we get really upset. We dance. Well, let's put a caveat to that. Yeah. You get in your VW Bug and you drive to an abandoned warehouse and you dance into gymnastics and smoke and drink beer. Yeah. You dance like you've never danced before. You dance your ass off. You do. That's what you do. That's right. That's right. So if you want to see Woods basically playing Kevin Bacon's role and us being there to support him, well, are we? Some of us. Are we? MikeyShow.com. And you can see our version of Footloose. Thank you to Stephen B Productions.
for putting this together for us. My brother. Yes. The man. He's a man. He did a great job on it. Go check it out. You ready for me to make an announcement to you? I'm nervous. I need you to be supportive of me and not laugh. This can be the trust tree for a minute. For a minute. For a minute, and then we're going to make fun of you. He gets out of control. I have decided to become vegetarian. What? No way. No way. Mikey. Mikey, no, you're not. What? Why? We must be on Fantasy Island. Yeah, seriously. Trust tree. Trust tree. Trust tree. Just explain why. Explain why. Explain why. Oh, I know why. His wife. Hasn't stopped him in a couple months, so. As you know, my wife is a vegetarian. Yeah. Pressure getting too much for you at home? She's been a vegetarian for a few months now. Yeah.
And all I've seen is her dropping LBs. That's what happens. Not always. Not always. Protein's good for you and red meat has protein. Mike, you realize what vegetarians eat and what they don't eat, right? Yeah. You know the definition of a vegetarian? Do you know what it is? Yeah, you guys are like, maybe Mike doesn't know it. He just thinks he needs to add more vegetables to it. You know that delicious Hawaiian pizza that you like from Pizzacatto? I could get that. I could get that just without that ham. I don't need that ham. I could just have it with that. Then it's just a pineapple pizza. And that would officially make you gay if you had just a pineapple pizza. What was that? I do that all the time. What was that delicious marinade that you love called? Which marinade? Oh, bass. Yeah, enjoy that on broccoli. You know you're not going to be able to have that now, right? What if? Make sure you don't get any meat in your pasta sauces. Wait a second. But what if I took, and I'm being completely serious with you here. What if I took some kind of vegetable that I really do love, okay? Compare it to meat? No, no, no. What if I took eggplant, sliced it into big pieces and chunks,
And I soaked it in Basque sauce. And then I grilled it. It would taste like eggplant with Basque sauce. It would taste like vinegar flavored eggplant. It's no meat. That's for sure. Enjoy Pamplemousse from now on, pal. What are you going to have? Salad? Come on, dude. That's almost below the belt. I'm not trying to shame you out of it because I think it's great. I'm saying check your sack. Men aren't vegetarians. I'm just trying to be. I know you. You know what, though? Mike, you're pretty crazy. Like, you drink soda numerous times a day. Yeah. And one day you're like, I'm done with soda. And all I've seen you drink is water. That's it. I've never done it once since then. I've never done it once. That was months ago. Not one time. Not one soda. You have a lot of willpower. I haven't done it. You eat grapes in here and stinky eggs. Try. He brings grapes. We usually do. Yeah, we do. But you're, I mean. You have some willpower, man. If you put your mind to it, you can do it. You could maybe do it. I'm going to ask M1's men. I'm going to ask men. Am I a Sally? No. Now, I'm telling you, my wife has not mentioned it to me one time. In fact, I'm telling you, my wife is finding out about it right now. If she's listening. What commune are you a part of now?
Oh, stop it. Can I come visit you on the weekends, or is that forbidden? Jay was a vegetarian for years. He's grown a beard now, you know, Mike is. Yeah, I just don't eat red meat. I mean, I still eat chicken and fish. But you used to not eat any meat, right? No, I've always pretty much, you know, chicken. Yeah, Mike, say bye to chicken. Yeah, maybe, I mean, maybe you just start off small. Just go red meat. Are you going to go the whole way? He's going the whole way. Yeah, I'm going to eat vegetables. No, I'm just kidding. I'm going to eat pizza. I can eat pizza. Yeah. I can eat bread. I can eat stuff. The only thing I don't eat is meat. I'm with you. What about menudo? I can't eat menudo. I can eat menudo. I just can't eat the meat part of it. Wait. So you can have all the stuff. You just can't eat the meat. Menudo the intestines? Well, yeah, but I can have the soup. I can have the hominy. I can have all the fixings. I can have all the stuff. Hominy. Hominy, hominy, hominy. Hominy, hominy, hominy, hominy, hominy.
I can have all of that stuff. The only part of it that I cannot have. The Mexicanness is what defines you. Is that I cannot have the meaty meat part, you know? Now, tell me, when did you come up with this brilliant idea? I've been observing my wife. I've been watching her drop the LBs. I've been seeing her eat healthier. I, in fact, have been eating healthier. And I thought to myself, okay, I have two obstacles to overcome. Every M1 that's a man in our audience, okay? Yeah, that's just a small one. There's plenty of vegetarian males that listen to the Mikey Show. And I have, also to overcome, I have the eyes of my cohorts on the Mikey Show. Sienna Woods, Lauren, and Jay, and even Chris. One in particular. Yeah. One pair of eyes in particular. One pair of eyes, well, two pairs of eyes in particular. Lauren O'Brien from Woods. No way. You might inspire me. Right now, I don't eat red meat, but if you can do it, then maybe I'll cut out chicken and stuff, too. Or maybe I'll be a pescatarian. What is that? Just pester people all the time? Mike, I feel like I need to run down every type of meat there is. You know what you're doing. You'll flip me out. Well, good. You'll spin me. Oh, you know what's going to be delicious? No bacon.
No turkey bacon. That sucks. Don't tell me that. Football season's coming up. What are you going to barbecue? You can have soy bacon. I'm never coming to your house. I'll never come to your house again, pal. Later. Toe bacon. You know how you like to barbecue by the pool? What are you going to barbecue? Veggies. Eggplant. Broccoli. Veggie burgers. Disgusting. No one's going to come. Veggie burgers. Tofu dogs. Veggie burgers. I'll be right over. 570-1949. On Thanksgiving, you can have Tofurky. Yeah, what are you going to do on Thanksgiving, pal? Oh my gosh. Tofurky? I felt like I was kicked in the nads when you said... I felt like I was kicked in the nads when you said... Football season is coming up. Yep. And I continue to be kicked in the nads with each example that I hadn't thought of that you're giving me. That really sucks for Jamie and I because we're probably not going home for Thanksgiving. So we were going to come to your house. Oh, we'll still do it. We'll still have mashed potatoes. We'll look forward to that. We'll still do meat for everybody.
Like, if we do a barbecue, it's not like we're going to make everybody live our lifestyle. And when I say we, my wife is finding this out for the first time. We should get her on the phone. Yeah. That's true, though. I mean, I could see you sitting there with meat and not going for it. Yeah. You are pretty strong. You do have strong will. M1 Chemistry from San Clemente. What up? What's up? Well, various health benefits, so I won't go into those because they're pretty obvious. But there's a couple things you need to think about. You're going to be going into surgery. And first of all, you've been working out a lot. And you've got to really consider that if you're going to maintain that high level of foot, you really need to be careful about, or not careful, but you need to be conscious of the protein sources you're taking because you're really going to need to have a high level of protein. You can probably get a lot of that from shakes and whatnot. That is true. And my wife is finding all of this out right now, that she needs to be having a lot of protein. I've got to be having a lot of protein and all this stuff.
Really wondering about the Sally factor. Am I a Sally M1 chemistry? Yeah. Thank you for your honesty. Now, what about eggs? Can you still have eggs? Because technically... I can have eggs, right? I'm vegetarian. I can have eggs, right, chemistry? Yeah, I mean, if you think a chicken embryo fried in butter is vegetarian, go for it. Okay, I cannot. Gross. That means no. I would definitely take that as a no. I would take that as a no. Yeah, they can't eat eggs, I guess, huh? It depends. What about milk? You're not hurting a chicken. Anything that's an animal byproduct, a vegan won't have. Vegetarian's a little different. M1 Runner from San Diego. Holy man. Runner, are you there? Oh, yeah, yeah, I'm here. Go ahead. Yeah, I was meditating for about four years. And, you know, Mikey, it just really depends on how strict you want to be with it. I mean, like, I was still lacto-ovo. Like, I still ate eggs and I still drank milk and stuff like that. You were, I'm sorry, you were lacto-ovo? La, la, la, la.
Yeah, like I still drink milk and dairy products and stuff like that, and I still eat eggs. Is that Spanish for lactose intolerant? No, it's the opposite. Mike, that was lacto-ovo. Lacto-ovo. It means he allows himself to have the lactose stuff. Chicken and stuff like that. The hardest thing for me to give up was seafood. But you've got to be careful with, like, Mexican places especially because, you know, they use lard in the beans and chicken stock in the rice. Yeah, they do. It just depends on how strict you want to be. Okay, I don't want to be so strict, okay? I just don't want to eat hamburgers and meat, all right? Don't you? At that point, it's not that hard. At that point, it's not that hard. Just like the caller before said, it's just a matter of making sure you get good protein. I'm exhausted. There are so many different kinds of... People that give things up. This is going to have to be Mike in the restaurants. Yeah, can you tell me what the soup of the day is? No. Yeah, we have a minestrone soup today. Is that made with vegetable stock or chicken stock? Chicken stock. No. Oh, yeah, I can't have that. I won't do it. What's in the albondigas? Do you have a tampon that I can possibly have? My wife is on the line. Oh, yeah. My wife is on the line. Honey? Yes. Wow.
I keep looking at the clock, convinced that I'm dreaming right now. So are you shocked by this announcement? Yeah. I seriously, I'm just, I can't believe it. I'm shocked. I'm thrilled. It sure will make life easier for me. Does this mean that the kids? No. I make two separate dinners right now. Yeah. So that'll be a lot easier. The kids are not vegetarian. No, they are not. And I don't have it. They will not be, yeah. Now, I'm going to give this a shot. I think that it's going to make me healthy. I'm going to be having some protein. I'm trying to get healthy in life. In general? Yeah, I think it'll be great, hon. I'm concerned that you haven't really thought about that. Clearly. Aren't chicken breasts healthy? Hey, by the way, I want to say this too. I want to make it a point to say there's nothing wrong with eating meat. Eating meat is good. Eating meat is great. I say eat meat. I am just... I'm trying to get some healthiness here. Protein is healthy. Yeah, I'm going to have protein. Chicken.
Yeah, I'll have shakes and all that, right? Delicious. It'd be great. Now, don't start being like a carb overloader now. No, I won't. I won't. Say goodbye to KFC. I got it all. I was thinking about the jalapeno poppers that he can't have anymore because they're wrapped in bacon. Oh. Yeah, maybe I'll wrap them in zucchini. That sounds good. Asparagus poppers. It's hideous. Thank you, honey. I love you. I love you. All right. Love you too. Bye. It's really weird when you do that. I love you so much. Can we get Dave in here, please? Yes. Please get Dave Matthews. Dave. Hi. There he is. He's back. Dave Matthews. It's been a while, buddy. How is that? Hey, man. You ain't going to make it, Mike. Just so you know. Man. It looks exactly the same. Yeah. He's got slippers on. You're not going to make it on that vegetarian kick. How do you know? Because I know. Dave, listen. I see you shoveling pork chops and all kinds of stuff in your mouth. You ain't going to make it. That's true, I do. I do, but if I make a decision and I get my resolve behind it, you don't know. I'll really make a go at this. Please close your robe. Your robe's open too much. What's with the beard? You in a Fidel Castro look-alike contest?
You getting lazy on me, man? What's going on? I get midlife crisis? No, I don't. Your beard's worse looking than mine. He did just turn 40. I did. You buying a Porsche next? You get a 16-year-old, 18-year-old girl? What's going on? Midlife? We need to talk? Maybe I'm going through the midlife thing. It looks like it. Yeah. Turning into a giant woman. Listen, Dave. He's got his ears pierced, too. Women don't have ears. Yeah, what's with the one diamond earring? I do not have the one. What is with the diamond, man? I don't have a diamond earring. I don't have an earring. It's a dangling cross. It's a diamond studded Fidel Castro lookalike. No, it isn't. Stop, Dave. Close your robe. I mean, seriously, could you at least put something on under there? We're all natural here. L-O-B, right? Oh, yeah. She don't mind. Jay don't mind. So gross. Do my feet stink? No. Yes. Keep the slippers on. Well, I wrote you a song. You did? I did. I wrote it specifically for you because...
I've been seeing your creepy face in my nightmares every night. Who, Mike? I started growing that beard. Creepy face? Are you talking to Mike? Yes. Why? Because of my beard? That beard, man. I don't know, man. You look like a degenerate. I look like Ellen Degenerate. No, a degenerate. Dude, wow. Let me hear it. You want to hear it? Yeah. Okay. It's gorgeous. Your face is looking so trippy. I think you're scaring L.O.B. Looks like you may be going artsy. But it's looking real manly, sort of. Your face looks mean. Scruffy guy.
Are you thinking about giving UFC a try? Your face looks mean. Your scruffy side makes you look like a Wolverine. You look so mean. Really gorgeous. Really pretty. Your prickly wickly face is scratchy. Might cause me pain. Your new job should be stalking, stalking. Macho man style you'll portray. Oh my gosh. Thank you. You're not going to let me finish? No, no, I think that's perfect. It's perfect, Dave. Your face looks mean. Want to borrow my razor? My face does look a little, it does look a little mean. Creep.
But I like it. Look who's talking. Yeah, you're calling me a 40-year-old creep. You got your robe hanging open with everything hanging. Don't ever open up your robe. Are you going to borrow your lighter, Mike? No, you can't. I don't have a lighter. What lighter are you going to borrow? My torch. I got to go. Thank you. Thank you, Dave. We appreciate you coming in. That was awesome. Can I just tell you that... This morning after 8 o'clock, radio history may be made. I know because I've talked to Hoyle what's going to happen here. It's out of control. It's out of control. May make radio history. 5701949, we have M1 Kelly, who is a yoga instructor on the line. Are you there, Kelly? I teach power yoga at a couple of studios and a gym, and I'm offering my services to you. I hear you're trying to get healthy, and I think yoga is the best way to do it. Listen.
The moment I start farting in a yoga class doing a downward dog, it's a blast thing for me. Mike in a yoga class. I will come to the studio in the morning. I will give you guys some yoga. Oh, my gosh. I would love that, actually. I have to do mine today for P90X. Today's yoga day. Oh, wow. I'm sweating it. You going to class? No, no. I teach a power yoga style. That's the only style I would do. I can go easy on you guys. I'll give you beginner level. I'm in. I'm in. After the baby. Listen, I'm already eating hard-boiled eggs. I'm already working out. Do I really have to go yoga now, too? Sean Merriman does yoga. You will feel awesome. That is true, Sean Merriman. Sean Merriman goes to Jay's studio. Yeah, but Sean Merriman does it for flexibility when he plays on Sundays. It's strengthening as well. I play on Sundays. Very manly. And the scenery is not too bad. Yeah, Nintendo. My office. Kelly? If you look into the style Ashtanga yoga, they're called the gorillas of yoga because they're really, you know, they have really good muscles. Oh, yeah. Check it out online. And you might go, hey, I want to look like that. And then bring me in. I'll come and give you guys some yoga. Thank you. Thank you for the call. It's M1 Kelly. Ashtanga yoga is hardcore.
That's what I've always said. I've been quoted. I've been quoted so many times. I just kind of paraphrase what you had already said. Please. I'm pleased with it already. Please. Please. I can't take it anymore. I've already done too much. 570-1949 is our number. You give us a call if you want to. The other day we did. Is there anything better than? And it kind of got me to thinking, is there anything worse then? Ashtanga yoga? Is there anything worse than Ashtanga yoga? P90X. Yeah, P90X. Is there anything worse than running late to something and having anxiety about it while you're on your way to that place? Story of my life. What's he do to you? You're not a late guy. I was late once. Oh, he's been late. Yes, you were. Which is why I have such bad anxiety about it. Yep.
Is there anything worse than getting right up to the front of the counter and hearing, oh, sorry, actually the line starts over there. You're like, oh, this is awesome. You go right up to the, you stand there. You're like, I can't believe that there's nobody. And they're like, yeah, the lines. And you look and there's a line. Wrapped around. Wrapped around something. And you're like, oh my gosh. Such a letdown. And then you have to go to the back of that line. and stand for an hour to whatever it was that you're doing. Anything worse than going in the bathroom at a public place, wrecking shop, walking out, and somebody's standing right there like what happened to me yesterday? That's pretty bad. Wrecking shop. Embarrassing. Going to war. Is there anything worse than an overdraft notice? Dude, I used to get so many overdrafts. By used to, I mean like two weeks ago. I know what's worse than the overdraft notice. Yeah. The overdraft fee. Oh, yeah. Dude, or clicking on your bank all stoked because you think you have money and seeing the red. The overdraft. It's Friday night. It's Friday night. You're like, cool, I have negative $60 to play with all weekend. Guess I'm going to have soup all weekend. Real sweetly. How about this one? Is there anything worse than you're at home, you're starving, and you go to make your favorite sandwich, and everybody has it, and there is...
Just one item out of any of the items that it takes to make said sandwich. Just one. I don't care if it's mayonnaise, mustard, the meat that goes in there, the bread that goes, any of it. One item. If there's one piece of bread missing, is there anything worse than that one item being missing from your favorite sandwich? There's nothing worse than that. So close, but so far. You're right there. I can touch it, but not quite. You have plenty of bread. You have plenty of peanut butter, but you don't have any jelly. And you find that out at the last minute. You go, oh, God. No! No! No! Or like old bread or the heel. If I find the heel, I'm like, I will sling it around my head like one of those wrecking balls and I'll throw it across the room. I'm so mad. What about the breads there but there's a few spots of mold? You're like, come on. Is there anything worse than that mad? throwing away of the moldy bread. I hate it. You open up the garbage. Yeah, exactly. So angrily. I wanted to eat you. I wanted to eat you. Is there anything worse, anything worse than automated customer service? Oh, no. Press one for English. Creep. Para Espanol, primera dos. Am I kidding?
Is there anything worse? And getting lost in it? I don't so much mind the press button. What I don't like is the voice recognition. Yeah. When you call the airport or American Airlines or whatever. Yeah, I need a Denver. No, no, Denver. You have selected Charlotte. Denver! You have selected Delaware. Denver! You have selected Alaska. Don't you guys just push zero? No. I always do. Because if it's voice recognition, you go Denver, and it goes, you have selected Dover. How about this, though? When you call and you get the automated, you hit zero right away. They're like, that is not a viable option. I keep pushing it. I just want to be like, sorry, I cannot understand. Goodbye. Is there anything worse than... I do not understand. Goodbye. Goodbye. They say it like that all like 20 minutes later. You guys know I got that right turn speeding ticket six weeks ago. Still don't know how much it costs. I've been sitting on hold on their automated line for hours a day. For three weeks. Dude. You are the next caller. All customer service reps are currently assisting other people. The current wait time is 47 minutes. You are eighth.
in line. You are currently eighth in line. Of eight people. Is that a lot? Is that a little? How long is this going to take? 570-1949. Call us if you got there. Is there anything worse? So by now, everybody knows that Mel Gibson made some pretty racist remarks. Whoopi Goldberg, of all people, was really defending him, and she's getting filleted. So she finally responded to it. We have audio of her responding to it. And we'll take your calls for... Is there anything worse than... If you're calling us right now, by the way, you are currently eighth in line. Touch a west-northwest wind swell that has tapered up just a bit. But still need ways, chest-out ways can be found with some pluses on top of that. Maybe even some shoulder-high plus ways at those top south-facing areas, but fewer and far between. Dealing with a negative low tide this morning, which is further stepping the life out of most places as well.
so that will have an effect on your surfing location to choose this morning. Beach breaks seem to be okay, because some sandbars and structure areas look fairly fun. Some of the reef breaks, top open areas to the south's world, look decent as well. No real winds this morning, so pretty clean. Water champ is freezing, like 57, 58 degrees when I surfed last night, and that time of the year, or for this time of the year, that's about as cold as I've ever heard it. For up-to-the-minute surf reports and forecasts, you go to surfline.com for everything you need. Order to go surf, check out one of the South Coast surf shops, and make sure you stop by South Coast Wednesday this Saturday from 9 till 3. Hang out with Larry Ritchie and Robin Verdadovich, talk surfboards, and ride some South Coast demo boards. This surfboard is brought to you by Guayaquil, and it can only be heard three times daily right here on FM 94.9. This has been the FM 94.9 Authentic Surf Report. Back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. He's in a piece of broccoli in like eight years. Lauren. I accidentally had a piece of beef yesterday. Yes! Wood. The best movie ever made, Footloose. Sienna. Todd and I went to downtown LaHouette to Prospect. And Jay. I can make 100 hush puppies in like 30 seconds on FM 94.9. 5701-94.9 is our number.
What do we got going on in news, Sienna? Well, I hate to start off with a sad story, but unfortunately it is. The mayor of Coppell, Texas, this is right outside of Dallas, shot and killed her 19-year-old daughter and then herself. Yeah, police found their bodies inside their home on Tuesday. And they were going to investigate because she didn't show up to a city council meeting. And there was an envelope taped to the front door with a key to the house and a note warning them of what they were going to find and being unpleasant. And then there were more notes. with instructions on how to handle some family affairs. So just really, really, really sad news. BP yesterday began testing the new tighter fitting cap, which is good news. Hopefully they'll find us. A cure. A leak. Stop the leak. Yes. It's either going to hold the oil inside the well like a stopper or they'll bring it up to the collecting ships on the surface. Woodsy, what's going on in sports? Well, the second half of Major League Baseball season starts tomorrow. The first place Padres will be taking on the Diamondbacks. Get out there and support your bunch. Chargers team doctor David Chow is in trouble for writing 108 prescriptions to himself. And the British Open starts today. John Daly, I think, is the leader at 600. Is there anything worse?
M1AJ from Ramona. Hey, how's it going, guys? Good, dude. What do you got? Oh, man. This is the worst. This has happened to me, like, five times in my life, and I lose my mind every time. What is it? Like, when you're on your, like, your cell phone, and you're on, like, a hole for, like, a really, really important call, and it's, like, getting to, you're, like, over an hour and a half at this point. Right. And then your cell phone, like, starts to die. Oh, my gosh. You know, and you're just like, no, I can't let this go, or... Like for some reason, this has happened to me. It just disconnects. Like they mess up or they're trying to transfer you. Please hold. You're about to be transferred. I've gotten like the, they go, hello. Yeah. Yeah. I'm here. Hello. Click. Dude. I've been there. The worst moment is then you're like, do I call back? Cause I can't bring myself. No.
I am not calling you back. Like, it's the worst. You got to shut down and regroup and try again the next day. You're so upset that you've been waiting. That's the worst. That is the worst. Hey, dude, I've been there, man, where you've been sitting there. You've been on your phone and you've been driving and driving and driving. You've been on hold. And finally, the person comes on and goes, thank you for calling, blah, blah, blah. And you dropped the call. Yeah. Exactly. I've screamed. I've screamed. Yeah, me too. I've screamed. I've cried. I've cried. I've definitely cried. Mad cry. Mad cry. Why? But I cried, dude, when that happened. Oh, it's the worst. It's the worst. Thank you, AJ. M1 Eddie from San Diego. Are you there? M1 Eddie, San Diego. You guys are going to love this. What is it? I lose my job, right? So I'm already kind of stressed out. I apply for unemployment insurance and I qualify. Boom, got it. The check's not coming. Bills are piling up. I'm already kind of stressed out. So I call them. After listening to like 10 minutes of this message of, you know, what Congress is doing and blah, blah, blah, they finally go, there's too many callers on the line. Call back later. Oh, God. Are you kidding? I don't have a job. I can hold this time. Oh, my gosh. This is awesome.
Oh, my gosh. So annoying. I don't see. I just kind of laughed afterwards. It was awesome. Phone stuff will get you. It'll get you good. M1 Virgin Nikki from Escondido. Hey, guys. What up? This is the funniest bit. Lauren, your automated voice is killing me. So I actually had M1 AJs, but I have another one. So I do all the government programs, like to help out families, you know, like WIC. Medi-Cal, all that kind of stuff. But, like, once a year, you have to go into their office and fill out, like, all this paperwork. You have to wait in line and wait in line. And you walk in there, and there's, like, a hundred people and a hundred people with their five kids. And you have to sit and wait for them to call your name. And you're there for, like, eight hours. Oh, yeah. It's like being in an emergency room, a doctor's office. Yeah, being at Disneyland. Yeah. Except without the fun. Yep. And you're just like, you want to, you just want to die. Thank you. Headphones on, you just want to die. It's awful. It's awful. Thank you, Virgin Nikki. Yeah. Is there, is there anything worse in general than being really, really sick in an emergency room? No. And you don't know what's wrong with you and you're waiting and you're waiting. And you're assessing everyone else. You're like, I got it worse than that guy. Yeah.
Maybe that girl can go first. Those are the worst. 570-1949. Give us a call and tell us, is there anything worse then? You know what we want to do real quick? And don't forget, just after 8 o'clock, something pretty crazy is going to happen. Monumental. Monumental. 570-1949 is the number. And if you want to text us, 949mikey at gmail.com. The panel. The panel is where we go, kind of like they do on ESPN's Round the Horn. And we find out what's happening in the news and do a little commentary. It's Woodsy. It's Lauren. It's myself. First up, do you even know how to cough and how to hide your and like where you're supposed to cough? There apparently is a way. that you are supposed to properly be doing it. Is that the deal, Sienna? Yes, and a lot of people do not know how. I do. Myself included. How do you think? I believe that you're supposed to make a fist and cough into it. No. Wrong. Wrong. That's what the majority of people do. Yeah. You're supposed to do the inside of your elbow. Yep. Because if you make your fist or if you cough in your hands, you're touching doorknobs, other things, other people touch them, they get sick. So there was a...
a study that was just done and students were watching and observing like a ton of people in one day and they saw that one in 77 people coughed correctly and covered with the inside of their elbow. Everyone else did it the wrong way. Some people didn't even do it at all. By the way, cover. That should be, is there anything worse than seeing people cough and just cough? Yeah. Is there anything worse than that? The handkerchief or a tissue is another one of the good ones to use. Because that goes in the garbage, hopefully. Woods, my question to you is, are we pansying out as a country? Yes, absolutely. I think for millions of years, people were fine. Now I know that germs have taken on a life of their own. But I mean, I do it. I cough in my elbow and I sneeze in my shirt. If you guys ever notice me sneeze, I sneeze in my shirt. You do? Because I don't want to sneeze all over you guys. But yeah, I think we're definitely becoming... big wusses and freaking out about stuff too much. That's the alarm that says that we've gone. I like that. We have a new little alarm. Some people told us that the TikTok was annoying and it was too loud. And so we're going to kind of a silent timer. LOB.
Where do you stand on that? Are we pansying out, or do you think that this is all good? I think it's good. I didn't know about the elbow thing until the outbreak of the H1N1 virus, and I learned the right way to cough, and now I do it. It makes sense. All these diseases are being introduced, reintroduced, mutating, and yeah, we got along for millions of years or whatever he says, but... You know what my take on it is? Darn it! I wasn't done! How about a little common sense, man? How about we just exercise common sense? All this stuff to me, you're coughing the wrong way. You're not doing it the right way. How about common sense? You know, common sense says that you don't cough, you know, just cough in the middle of a room where all your spit's going to go out in the air. That's all you got to do. It's really awkward to lift up your elbow like that. You guys don't see me do that every day? Every day. I do. I do it all the time. Awkward. I mean, you can. I mean, there's nothing wrong with it, but I'm just saying it's all a little. pansifying for me. Anybody here ever been to Carl's Jr.? Carl's Jr. is now selling foot-long cheeseburgers. Foot-long cheeseburgers. What about a couple of those to plug the hole in the Gulf of Mexico? Sienna, this is a true story, right? Yes, and it's another thing that you're not going to be able to eat as a vegetarian, Mike. Oh, my God.
Yes, Carl's Jr. is testing footlong cheeseburgers right now. They're testing it at the Santa Ana locations. And also Sonic is doing something similar. They're kind of competing. But with the Carl's Jr. one, it is the footlong cheeseburger. And it's not what you're thinking. It's not one long. It's not like a sub? It is. It looks like one, but it's numerous little patties throughout. It's not like one long patty of beef. Okay. Yeah, I pictured a submarine sandwich with a big old thing, like a big sausage of beef. You can get it normally, or you can get it deluxe, which adds onions, lettuce, and tomatoes, which is, you're only going to be able to get onions, lettuce, and tomatoes, Mike. Sorry. I'm vegetarian. Woods, where do you stand on that? I think it's, dude, first of all, I've never eaten at Carl's Jr. I hear good things, but I'm on, kids on a real strict diet, and it's no wonder we're the most, obese country in America. I mean, come on. Only in America would a regular hamburger not be good enough. Yeah. L-O-B. Gross. Right. That's it? That's it. My take? Exactly what Woodsy said. When are we going to stop raising that freaking bar? That's hideous. That's hideous. Like, dude, I already feel like a fatty yesterday.
I went and I got a hamburger. And I felt like such a... Screw you. I felt like such a fatty eating that thing. And listen, I mean, everything in moderation, right? A foot-long freaking hamburger? That's like three burgers in one. At least. Other countries must look at us and go, hey, fatso. Hey, fatso. Why don't you... Share the wealth. Why don't you eat some fish? Please. Starting at $4 for this long cheeseburger. Sienna, tell us about the dude that made a bunch of art out of ants. This is the weirdest thing I've ever heard. 32-year-old man got 200,000 ants. Killed 200,000 ants so that he could put them all together with tweezers, dead ants, and rearranging them to make a picture. What did he make? Crazy. Yeah, he is. Here's a picture. He made a picture of a little boy dressed as a cowboy standing next to a wooden fence. And it's pretty amazing. Yeah, it's spectacular. I mean, it is amazing. He bought batches of these ants for $40,000 alive. $40,000? Or no, not $40,000, sorry. Batches of 40,000 ants. Got it. For $1. No, not for $1. No, no, no. For 330 pounds.
Each for those batches. And like I said, there's 200,000 ants in there. So he had to buy a few batches. About 500 bucks or something. Lars Ulrich has a big, gigantic, wall-sized piece of artwork that is a biplane crashing. And it's made out of flies. Disgusting. This fly picture is 48 inches by 42 inches. Ant picture. It's ants, right? Yeah. This one's ants. Did I say fly? Yeah. Because you just said fly. I just said fly. Okay, sorry. This one's ants. This ants is 48 by 42 inches. Yeah. And Ripley's, believe it or not, bought it for $35,000. He spent more making it. Believe it. Or not. Woods. You know, it reminds me of the French impressionistic painter George Surratt and what he did with, I don't know what I'm talking about. I think it looks pretty cool. I was kind of skeeved out by it, but it looks. pretty rad. Yeah, because it looks like a photograph. Yeah, it looks really cool. Look at this photograph. Yeah, right? It looks cool. I like it. It's pretty crazy. L-O-B. It does look pretty amazing, but I mean, it just goes back to that thing where you put a price on different animals' lives. Like, you know what I mean? If people did that with puppies, it'd be a big uproar. Don't even say it. Killing ants like that, that's disgusting. Yep. That was my exact deal, man. If this, if this,
were puppies people would flip out now the fact that it's not a cute animal and it's ants whatever most people would hear this story listen people are people are going to hear this story and a lot of people will brush over it the fact is is that if it were dolphins in the cove that they were making photographs out of people would flip their lid. It's not like he killed two. He killed 200,000 ants. Can I tell you guys this too? It took him several years to do this. He actually took a year off because he felt so bad about killing the ants. He didn't think he could finish. Did he? And he did finish. And he says the whole reason he did this is because when he was five years old, his younger brother and he attacked an anthill and they were bitten by red ants. Oh, wow. Well, that's what happened to me. He felt inspired. What do you guys do when you see an anthill in your yard? Yeah, you... Get poisoned. Yeah, you burn it. Yeah, you pour gas on it, light it on fire. Build them an ant house. Yeah. You don't want ants biting you. You don't want ants in your house. Biting your kids, your dogs. They're not a bunny rabbit. They're not functional. They're not cute like a bunny. You know what we don't go out and stomp on? We don't go out and stomp on, you know, rabbits. We don't go out and stomp on squirrels. I've tried. It's hard. It's hard.
But still, I mean, there's one thing to like squish them if they're invading your yard or your home or something like that. But to go out there and like raise them, cultivate them just to kill them. It seems a little barbaric. Hey, what do you guys think of this? And call us on this one, 5701-949. Or you can text us 949mikey at gmail.com. Just after 8 o'clock, Hoyle's coming in here with something special. Mikey, recently got married to a wonderful man who is now the stepfather to my kids. My ex, my kid's dad. is not being very civil about the whole thing. The most recent problem is, my most recent problem with him is that I am introducing my new husband's family to my kids as their family, such as saying grandma, uncle, aunt, so on. My kids who are five and three went to their real dad's house and were talking about their new family members. Well, my ex had a fit over it. and told me that he is going to continue to tell them otherwise. He will tell them that these are, quote, not their family, unquote. He says, I am only confusing them and making poor choices, and threw in that my marriage may not last. In my mind, this is now my family, and they are also my children's family. They're not going anywhere. What's so wrong with having an extra grandma? Am I missing something?
That's M1 growing family. My answer to it is, I would say to this ex, to the husband that has a problem with the kids being introduced as whatever. Hey, listen, man, it's a consequence of the divorce. You got a divorce. It's a consequence. Now, this to me is a perfect example of I want everything. I want it all. I want my cake. I want to eat it too. I want to be able to get tired of a marriage, get a divorce, and then say, I also want these rules, by the way. When you meet somebody new, I still want to be known as King Dad. I still want to be known as, you know, whatever I choose. I want to be able to paint the picture of your new family. Sorry, bro. I'm sorry. It's one of the consequences of getting a divorce.
You got the divorce. Now she's married. She's introducing the kids as grandma, uncle, whatever. That's the way it is. What do you guys think? It is, man. And, you know, my Jamie was married before and she had a whole nother family. And I have nieces and nephews that are they call me Uncle Steve, you know, and I wouldn't have it any other way. And those guys are precious to me. But, you know, this guy is a clown because these people are going to end up taking care of his child and loving his child as if, you know, it was. The normal way, quote unquote. So I think he's clowning out big time. 570-1949 is our phone number if you want to comment on it. It's like that show Modern Family. Got an email from a lady that said that her and her husband split up. She's got a new guy, has remarried, and that she introduces her new husband's family as uncle this and aunt this and blah, blah, blah. And the ex is real mad about it. And he tells their children, that is not your family. Weak. That is so lame of him.
570-1949. Don't forget, killer, killer 8 o'clock album tonight. Feist. Love Feist. Yes. One, two, three, four. Tell me that you love me more. The album is the reminder. That's tonight. 8 o'clock album right here on FM 94.9. We have M1 Tim from Mira Mesa on the line. Are you there, Tim? Yeah, I'm here. You believe that the guy is doing the right thing. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, it's basically a consequence of her getting remarried with minor children. I mean, she's already been through one divorce. She shouldn't be dating or getting married until those kids are 18 and up and out anyway. Wow. That's a statement. Wow. That's heavy. So, Tim, again, isn't that sort of drawing whatever picture that you want?
it to be in other words okay i'm allowed to split up and when i do i can you know basically make the rules and the rules are you can't get married again until the kids are 18 you can't do this you can't do that no you should get married just realize there's going to be consequences to it but they're only her consequences not your consequences you get to make all the rules yeah and then if she doesn't like it then try to go to court and get full custody but bottom line she should not be Remarried or dating until those kids are up and out. Well, question, Tim. Why her? Why are the consequences for her? Well, him either. He shouldn't be dating anyone either. The kids don't need any more drama. I'm thinking about the kids. Yeah, I don't know. But if you were thinking about the kids, then if they are a good family and they're going to love and take care of that kid as if it were their blood, niece, nephew. Until the next divorce. Who says there's going to be a next divorce? I have a stepchild. Are you saying that my husband shouldn't have married me? Absolutely. Oh, my God. You are insane, dude. You are insane. What if that man cheated on his wife so she should be single the rest of her life? Or single, I'm sorry, until her kids are 18? Yeah, until the kids are 18. Wow! Okay, well, I know that my stepdaughter, who's nine years old...
loves me to death. And I've been in her life for four years. And I think that I am one of the most positive influences in her life. And I think anyone in her family, even her real birth mother would agree. Hey, listen, and I got to say this. If you are of the mindset until the next divorce, if you are of that mindset, then maybe marriage isn't for you. Because if you're on the bad end of an old marriage and you're thinking already about the next divorce, even for your ex, it means that when it comes to marriage, it may be time to go back to marriage school. That's one man's opinion. 5701949. M1 West from Bay Park. Are you there? Are you there? Yeah, good morning. This is M1 West. How you doing? Good. How are you? Glad to be on the show. Thanks, man. Yeah, I just wanted to call in just to draw off my own personal experience. more or less coming from the children's point of view. When I was a kid, my mom passed away, and my dad ended up remarrying a few years later to another woman who her first husband passed away. Both of them had little kids. I was seven at the time that they got married, so there's like a four-year difference. But that whole time was super confusing for me, my sister, and my two stepsisters. And one thing that they did,
is they really made it clear to us and drew a line that although we're going to teach you and remind you about your natural parents, that there is no such thing as step-parents or step-sisters or step-brothers or even that there's a line in the distant family. So we ended up having four sets of grandparents, dozens of cousins and uncles and nieces, and they ended up raising us and loving us just like I was part of their blood. And I think I didn't understand that when I was a kid, but as I got older, I got to draw back on that. And it was really powerful because it was all about the children. It wasn't about the parents or the mom, and it wasn't about the grandparents wanting to step in and make sure that my birth mom was my mom. And I think when you have kids, you have to realize that it's not about you anymore, and it's not about the stepdad anymore. It's about his kids, and what's going to be the best way to raise them. If they have an extra set of grandparents and an extra set of uncles, then it's just, you know, more love and more presence on Christmas form and a better system to raise them. Exactly. So that's my opinion. Thank you, Wes. I appreciate the call. You know, I truly believe that the last caller, Tim, his opinion was motivated out of selfishness. And I believe that.
When divorce occurs, in fact, almost anything, as I'm sitting here thinking about it, I'm thinking almost anything. When divorce occurs, I think it may be an issue of selfishness. This is what I mean. The other day I said, put your spouse first every time and your needs will be taken care of. All I can tell you is that ain't easy. That's freaking hard. And the reason that it's so hard is because you got to take yourself out of it. And we want what we want. We want to be instantly satiated. We want instant gratification and we want it our way. And I've also said a million times that really we're just little kids and grown up bodies. We really are. And so when it comes down to it, we could resolve a lot of issues if we said it won't be my way. It'll be your way.
Even if we don't like it, it'll be your way. In fact, you go a step further. What more can I do for you? I want to help you here. I want to do more for you. That's not easy to do. Now, M1 Barabbas from Mira Mesa, he doesn't agree. He agrees with the last caller. Tim, right, Barabbas? Yeah. Hey, Mikey, I just wanted to start and preface this. Like, Fiena was pretty fired up over that last caller. You know, the exception should never make the rule. And I'd say that that's awesome with Tiana's situation that her stepdaughter loves her and she's such a great influence for her stepdaughter. And that would be great if everything was like that. But, you know, statistics are terrible about second marriage, divorce. And a lot of times, my personal experience, my dad did the same thing to my brother and I when my mom got remarried. He would just, you know, pump all kinds of negativity towards my stepdad into us.
And that's one of the consequences of remarrying after the first divorce. If my husband based our relationship on statistics, then we wouldn't be married and we wouldn't be having a baby. And his daughter, who's nine years old, who I love, would not be so excited that she's about to be a big sister. So sometimes you can't really base things on statistics. Sometimes there's not a right or a wrong. It's just it's the fit and it's something that works. And I mean, you can't you can't. If you're suffering from a divorce, a divorce is an awful thing. It's so hard on everyone, children, people that were in the marriage. But it's it's I just you can't punish the other person. Not only that, I got something good for you, too. And I think that this is the truest thing about where Sienna is with Todd. It's the perfect example of it's not about why this it's about what next and what they're doing right now is rad. It's the right thing. It's the right thing. They're raising a killer daughter in Jenna, and they're about to raise another daughter. They're about to have a lot of estrogen in their house. Team estrogen over there. A lot of estrogen. M1 Eric from Del Mar thinks that dude was a freak. Absolute freak. I mean, the most powerful place on Earth is when one sees their needs as no different than another's. And it just boils down to, like, okay, somebody's grieving, so their needs,
need to be met. Well, the other person wants to expand a life, and there needs to be met, and there's no difference. There's no one that's stronger than the other. Absolutely. I agree. I agree with you, man. Hey, thank you for the phone call. All right. Just makes me think that this dad is just bitter that maybe he hasn't found anyone. It's the same thing I'm going through right now with Garrett, the program director here. Oh, really? Oh, really? You're going to weigh in on this, Hoyle? Yeah, I'll weigh in on it. I'll tell you what the deal is. I've been telling him for months. Y'all know it. Take advantage of the fact that you've got Mikey on the radio station who's Mexican. Yeah. And really do something with it. Now, how long have I said what y'all got to do is you got to get more ethnic on the show. All the time. You say that all the time. I'm already ethnic, though. I don't get it well. I don't think ethnic is the right term. Listen, what's the right term? Spanish, he's my, I'm sorry, Mikey, you are my amigo. I don't even speak Spanish, Hoyle. He doesn't even know what that means, Hoyle. You, Mikey, look at me. You are my friend. We are friends. I get that, Hoyle. I don't have to look at you to get that. Now, what y'all need to do is consider the format change. How long have I been telling you hip-hop? Months. Too long. Yeah. And y'all haven't gotten down with the program. Do y'all know how many?

The key is y'all just got to do mariachis, alright? You take any song and as long as you play it to mariachis, the numbers are going to go up. I've been telling Garrett that forever. You may be right with the money. You may be right. That's what I'm saying. Can they stay? Absolutely. Forever. Yeah, forever. You all got another song you want to hear? See, yes. What about, you know, Spoon, Got Nothing? That's a good one. Yeah, let's hear it. Oh, they do. You guys are so good. Y'all, I told you, I think y'all are finally starting to get it. We got to seize the day like Robin Williams said. That's a great example of it right there. Maybe Garrett gets him on.
The main stage at Independence Jam. That would be fantastic. Can I make a request? Yeah, go ahead. What about, I don't know if this is like hip enough, but Gwen Stefani? The number of cases of the whooping cough in San Diego so far this year.
Past last year, 2009. There's 183 cases of whooping cough right now compared to 143 last year. Just this week, 13 new cases. And now this is mainly affecting kids. All of these kids are under the age of 12 in this week's. So make sure you have the booster shot if you're hanging around kids. Yep. Very important. An Arab TV station aired yesterday, Faisal Shahzad. Do you remember him? Yeah. That was the guy who pled guilty of carrying out the Times Square bombing. Well, the video was recorded before the attack, and it shows this guy meeting with the senior Pakistani Taliban leaders and vowing to attack the U.S. to avenge the deaths of Muslims killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. I said, hey, listen. You got to start listening to me just having mariachis come in and play with Hillary, Tommy. Yeah. Do the 8 o'clock album mariachi style. Done. I would do it. I would do it. Tell me what you think of this. You can call us 570-1949.
Hey, Mikey, you're not going to believe what I'm about to tell you. My wife put our seven-year-old son in dance camp. Apparently, his best friend, a little girl who lives next door. Mikey. Mikey was signed up and my boy wanted to do it too. Not only did my wife. Put him in this girl's camp. But now I have to go to a performance at the end of next week. Poor bastard. I want to support my kid, but dancing is too much. My wife thinks I'm being a jerk, but come on, guys. Someone have my back. Please, M1 Wave Runner. Wave Runner, I have your back. Wave Runner, I have your back. Wave Runner, I have your wife's back.
Same with me. Jay, you have the wife's back. It's dance lessons. Really? It's dance lessons. It's not going to kill. It doesn't make you change. It's dance camp. It's not dance lessons. I definitely feel for the dad. I see where he's coming from. But if the little boy was the one that wanted to do it, like who's the one that's going to say no to that? Gosh, I'd hate my kid to grow up and be Justin Timberlake. Yeah, right? That'd be awful. I actually would. A talented singer and dancer. Wow, that'd be horrible. Wow. How do you know that he's going to grow up to be Justin Timberlake? Yeah, Jay, thanks, dog. I appreciate that, player. That's right. If he gets to football camp, how do you know he's going to be Joe Montana or whatever? You don't, but at least it's something that boys do. Boys dance. You know what? Your boy's going to be who your boy's going to be, and dance lessons are not going to change you. Yeah, they are. Woodsy, I saw your moves on the Footloose video. You did some dancing there. I was going to say, said from the guy whose favorite movie is Footloose. That's true. You know what there is in dance camp? I love the story. A lot of girls. There's a lot of girls in dance camp. Yeah, I'm sure that's why a seven-year-old wants to go, so he can hook up. When I was five, that's what I was looking for. Michael Jackson was dancing at that young age. Yeah, he turned out just perfect. Oh. Jesus.
Great. You send your seven-year-old to dance camp. Yeah. Next thing you know, he's buying mummies. Yeah. He was an icon. Little monkeys. Yeah. Oh, my goodness. So was Charles Manson. He had a little ranch called Neverland. Bobbles? Yeah, a little ranch called Spawn Ranch, too. Listen. Oh, my gosh. I'm thinking through it, and I'm going, man, if my wife already wants to get our son an accordion. Oh, so does his Uncle Woods. I know. I just want to do it to drive you nuts. I know. What's the thing that bothers you about the accordion? That it's not a cool instrument? The female repeller? Same thing that bothers me about the dance camp. I'm like, listen. Okay, I just figured it out. I just figured out what my point is. My point is that it's not that there's something wrong with dance camp or the accordion. I guess my point is, what's wrong with football? What's wrong with the karate? What's wrong with the guitar? It's different strokes for different folk. He's seven. He doesn't know his strokes yet. He didn't know his strokes. Well, let him try. You tell him his strokes. Maybe he'll do football camp next summer. This summer, he wants to do dance. Does he? He may do football camp next summer, but he'll be at camp for cheerleaders instead of the football players. Come on. There's nothing wrong with that. Isn't there? Nope.
The wife has to have known. She did. I mean, she has to have known he was going to flip. Oh, this is so conflicting for me. I don't want to be a jerk and be like, oh, I'm not going to let my kid do something. But at the same time, I'm like, can't a kid just go to surf camp? Your parents force you, no, you're not allowed to do, put your CB radio away, weirdo. CB radio doesn't have a stigma like, you know, dance. Is it? I mean, I totally see where the dad's coming from, though. Yes, I do. He has to go to the performance. Oh, my God. He's going to be there surrounded by women with cameras. My eyes are closed. And he's, and like the other dads are all going to be taking pictures of their daughters and tutus and stuff. And yeah, and you know what they're all going to be doing? There's a little boy up there. Little Billy up there. There's plenty of little boys up there. Well, there. Yeah. You got shows like So You Think You Can Dance Now, Dancing with the Stars. Dancing is like... Hip-hop dancing. There's all kinds of dance crews. Step Up. Haven't you seen that movie? That guy's a stud. All my kids went to piano. Nothing wrong with that, dude. That's different. But then they had piano recitals. That's different. Still, it's music. If Jasper wanted to do ballet.
you would go and watch him and support him? Absolutely, if that's what the little guy wants to do. See, and that's the thing. You want to support him? Well, wait, wait. You have to. You have to. You're not stoked. But do I really want my son going into ballet? No. They said dance camp. They didn't say ballet. They said dance camp. I thought of it extreme. Daddy, daddy, I want to go to dance camp. Let's go. I'll go with you. Yeah, you know Jay would. You wouldn't say a word about it like, are you sure, pal? You sure you want to do it? Oh, my God. M1 Bruno from San Diego. Go ahead, Bruno. Hey, Mikey. How's it going, man? Good, dude. What's wrong with your little boy saying, Dad, I just love to do hair. Put me in cosmetology school. Good. See, don't we all kind of go, oh, we don't want to. Daddy, I want to do makeup. Yeah, I mean. My mom's been doing that for 40 plus years out of 100. Come on. We know how many guys are actually working it right. We live in such a politically correct world. Oh, yeah. That I'm not allowed to say, I don't want my son to be in a thing that may make him look gay. We live in a politically correct world. Like, even saying it, I'm like, oh, gosh. It's not about being politically correct. As a dad, I'm like, you know, if my son was gay.
I would be like, okay, son. I would talk to him about it. I'm not going to tell him, get out of here. No way. At the same time, you know the way I roll. I'm going to discuss it with him. I'm going to give him my take on it, the whole deal. But now, we live in a culture where I feel wrong saying, I don't want my son to be a hairdresser. No, no, no. Wait, wait, wait. I'm going to get killed for that one. I'm going to get slaughtered for that one. Rewind. So you're going to have a million guys calling going, dude. I cut hair. I cut hair. What's the matter with you? And then you do, okay, sorry. I didn't, no, forget haircut. Ballet. I think the problem that a lot of dads would have is not necessarily what he's doing, but the repercussions he's going to get from doing it from other kids his age. Other guys his age, he's just going to have a hard time if that's what he does. Well, then let him get tougher by getting that from his friend. By getting his butt kicked. No, maybe it will make him tougher. You guys see Karate Kid? Yeah, great. He was doing karate, though. That's the difference. He decided to take karate because he was getting made fun of for being the new kid. So that's what you want to do? You want to make your kid get tougher by getting his butt kicked and forced into defending himself? No, let kids learn their lessons about whether or not they want to take the heat or not. Maybe it'll make them stronger. Oh, boy. Aye, aye, aye. We're now going, I know how to make you stronger.
I'll put you in something to get your butt kicked out. No, it's not about necessarily being stronger. It's about learning life lessons on your own instead of your parents choosing what you should and shouldn't learn. M1 Preston from Camp Pendleton put his son in dance, right? I did. And? He's a better athlete. He's five. He's doing t-ball and pop runner football, and he competes better than any kid his age. He's five? Is it because of the dancing? Yep. Why? Like more rhythm, agility. Now, I will say this. There have been some NFL athletes, wide receivers, that have taken ballet classes. I think Chris Carter took ballet. The dude was filthy, right? But that was when he was an established athlete. When they're a kid and there's that stigma attached to it, if it was my kid, I'd let him do it, but I would have to have the talk with him before and be like, are you sure you want to do this, man? Yeah, here's what's going to happen. It's the funnest thing in the world to watch my son go out there at weddings the last couple of years. Yeah. And he just sits out there and dances with everybody else. What kind of dance are we talking? He's doing hip-hop, just modern dance. He's not doing ballet or anything, but he's just dancing. He just got his rhythm. Yeah, I mean, I guess that's okay. I'm kind of sold on it now. Were there other boys in the class? There was one other boy. Oh, my gosh. So then you give him a leg up. Guess who gets the most attention at weddings even when they're 23?
The guys that can dance. The guy that buys the shots for everybody? No, the guys that can dance. Oh, I'm so conflicted. You got moves on the dance floor. You got moves somewhere else, too. Oh, boy. That's what I'm saying. I totally see both sides now. M1, Erica from El Cajon. Hi. Hi. Sorry, I'm driving to school, so if there's a lot of noise, I apologize. It's all right. My thoughts on the issue, I really think that if a little boy is... I guess smart enough to pick up on a girl's want to go into dance class. And he's also smart enough to go ahead and say, I want to spend more time with this girl, so I'm going to go into dance class too. I think the dad should be proud because he already has his... That's not why, though. But Erica, he didn't decide that he wanted to go into dance because he wanted to hit on girls. How do you know? His best friend who lives next door is doing it. He doesn't know from hitting on her. He just wants to hang with her, though, maybe. I have one of those. Jasper wants a girlfriend. Jason, he's seven. He wants a girlfriend. No, the little girls are all about Jasper. And he's like, yeah, you know, they're cute. I like them. It sounds like the girls like Jasper.
But Jasper don't like him back. Trust me, seven-year-old boys, we're not like that. The girls are. They talk about it, though. They talk about it. I'm going to marry her. Where do we draw the line, though? And this is me being an idiot, but I'm just going to say it anyway. Like, what if your kid, Jay, was like, you know what, Dad? Sundresses are more comfortable. I want to wear one. Dad, I want to wear one. And they are more comfortable than these shorts. Would you wear it, Jasper, wear a dress? No, because it would be disruptive to class. At school. If we're talking about school. Really? Maybe it would be disruptive. Maybe it would be disruptive to dad. In the summer. Dad's eyeballs. In the summer. It's the summertime, right? It's now summer. And he goes, Daddy, I found one of Liberty's cutest dresses. And it is so comfortable and flattering. I want to wear it when I go out and play. I think I would say no. Yeah, I would too. I would hope so. I would say no to the dresses. I would too. But if he came to me and said, you know, whatever age, and he said, Dad, you know, all of a sudden I'm, I like boys. I like dudes. I like dudes. I'd go, okay, that's what you like, and that's what you like. Yeah, I would too. I would too. I've had that conversation with my wife and multiple people.
Yeah, I mean, it's to each his own, and everybody has a decision to make, and have a ball. As long as I'm not involved, I'm okay. Have a ball, pal. Do what you gotta do. That's one of those things, if you have a daughter, you don't really need to worry about it. Like, I was the biggest tomboy, and I was in a baseball camp. I was the only girl out of 150 kids. Wow. And never once was that weird, you know? No, but it's different the other way around. They're like, who's that girl with the huge cans over there at third base? Yeah, I was like, eight. You know, there's no such thing as a Tom girl. There's no such thing like that. You don't get filleted for being a tomboy. That's what I mean. That's one of the scary things about, yeah. You start wearing flannel in a leather wallet. Exactly. A lot of little girls go through the tomboy phase. You did, didn't you? Were you tomboy? Yeah, absolutely. Tomboy, you know, there's a lot of little girls go through it. You're right. And there's not a stigma attached to it. It's like, whatever, you're a tomboy. What if Jake was like, oh, it's my kid. He's just a tom girl. No big deal. Are you kidding me? He's a Tom Tom girl. A Tom Tom girl. Don't get me dragged into this, Mike. Thank you. M1 Stevo from Mira Mesa. Yeah. Are you a dance success story? I'm now 56, Mikey. And by the way, go to The Rock also. When I was a teenager, I decided I heard that dance was pretty good for athletes. So I took six years of dance and voice. I appeared in Cats and Fiddler on the Roof. Wow.
And Woodsy, one year at double A ball, Fort Lauderdale Yankees, baby. That a boy, man. What did your boyfriend think about it? Two snaps. And I'm married to a beautiful Filipino princess. What kind of dance did you do? Broadway, jazz, that sort of thing. Did you do jazz hands and pas de bourree? Wow, you did a lot. Oh, yeah, he did. Pas de bourree, pas de bourree. Hey, Stevo. Stevo, did you take any heat for doing your broad? You know what? A couple of my good friends gave me some crap about it. And I said, hey, you know what? The first class I went to, I couldn't even make it through the warm-up. And I challenged any athlete out there to go to a dance class. Warm-ups are usually an hour and a half to two hours. Well, wait a minute, Steve-O. You're making a different argument. You're making an argument that you're making this argument as if somebody said to you, dance is easy. That's not the argument, bro. So you're not going to win any hearts by going, it's really hard, man. You really sweat. Okay. I mean, I think we can all agree on that. We believe you. I don't think that's what's a question. What's a question is.
You know, the stigma that goes along with it. What kind of razzing you're going to take? Do you really want to put your kid to that kind of razzing, that whole deal? But honestly, one of my friends joined me, and he played football like I did. And afterwards, he's like, I'm never doing that again. Football's so much easier. Dance is brutal, dude. Oh, yeah, for sure. There's no argument. Nobody's trying to argue that one. But in my particular case, Jamie and I... My wife, we're about, well, we're in the process of adopting a child. We have a meeting next week, first big meeting. We're really excited about it. And obviously, I want a boy. Every father wants a son. And I want a little boy. And you picture in your head what you think that your little boy is going to be like. And, you know, for me, I don't really know what I'm going to get. You know, I don't know. I don't know what kind of DNA this kid's got. I don't know what he's going to want to do or be good at. But I certainly won't. dissuade him from doing anything he wants to do. But he will get my take on it. I would say to him, hey, Billy, that's really something that little girls do. But if you want to do it, you can do it. But little girls do it. Yeah. Listen, I think that's a good thing to do. I mean, Sienna was showing us pictures. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have their daughter dressing like a boy and cut her hair like a boy. And I said,
What is that all about? She looks like a boy because she's a little kid. Can't tell. To me, it seemed messed up. Like, why are you doing that? So do you think that the people that let their boys' hair grow out, is that messed up? No, because culturally right now that's the style is for boys' hair to be long. It's not the style. Is it the style for little girls to be dressed in like, you know, a tuxedo? Yeah. It really is the Janet Reno look real big with little girls right now. And I didn't even the Janet Reno look. It's the Al Roker look. I mean, let's be honest. It's a haircut that's like totally a boy. She had beautiful hair. Come on. Their daughter, Shiloh, was wearing, you know, like camouflage baggy pants. She had like a sword sticking out of her belt. It's like the same shirt as her brother with short hair. It's just. You picture it in your mind. You have your mind's eye of what you picture things going like when you have a child. Yeah. Me, I picture my kid sitting on the couch with me on a Sunday afternoon, right in daddy's arm, watching the New York Yankees or watching Notre Dame or watching. Hey, he may not be into it. He may be into video games or fantasy. Maybe he's a Lord of the Rings guy playing Dungeons and Dragons. I'm screwed at that point, but I got to do what I got to do because he's my kid. Yeah, of course you do. I got to get into it. Of course you do. You know.
Todd played in the minor leagues baseball. And Jenna wants nothing to do with sports. She loves, you know, video games and stuff like that. And animals. Little girl stuff. But he does it. You deal with it. I don't really have any expectations with my three sons. I don't have any expectations with them. I know Jake is all about music. He is all about music. That kid plays piano. He plays guitar. He plays... His nickname is 94.9. Yeah. The kid, let me tell you, that kid gets after it when it comes to instruments. He can play, too. He can play. Yeah. I'm sure Luke will play my patience. Luke's going to rebuild old cars in your driveway with a pack of cigarettes rolled up in his sleeve. He's James Dean. Yeah. 5701-949 is our number if you want to call. Fascinating topic, dude. Get in on that conversation. Yeah, that's, I don't know. I just pictured this poor guy going, putting on the requisite suit and tie for this recital and just being, I can picture his wife dragging him to this thing going, this is going to be great. He'll be proud once he's there. He may dig it once he's there. Hold the video camera. I don't know if I've talked about it on the air, but we've been looking for a nanny for a long time.
We have twin boys that are 11 months old, and we also have a three-year-old son, Jake, who has autism. He's going to be four in September. And so Rebecca has her hands full. So we've been looking for a nanny. And by the way, our nanny wanted us to be her sponsor, which we've been trying to figure out what that means. It sounds like it's some real heavy liability. And so if anybody knows about that. Mikey at Mikey show dot com. Love to get people's take on that if they've done it and all that stuff. But anyway, so we've been looking for a nanny. And Rebecca says to me the other day, hey, listen, I'm looking into a pair stuff. I'm looking into this. I'm looking at that. I talked to a friend of mine. She said who had a nanny and they think that this one's pretty good. They watched her on nanny cam. It went really good. And I went, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. They watched her on what? And she goes, on nanny cam. I said, what is that? Is that a new TV show on Fox? She said, no, nanny cam. It's a thing where they can basically hide cameras in teddy bears. And you put these up. And I said, isn't that illegal? She said, no. It's your house, right? Not in your home. It is absolutely not illegal unless.
You're taping them while they're compromised in the bathroom or whatever, and it's illegal. Jay? I've done it. Not in the bathroom, but I have taped a babysitter before. We've let the video camera hit. Wow. Really? Of course. Busted her. Doing what? She was having boys over, and we kind of had a feeling. Multiple boys. Yeah, well, we let her and her friend babysit, and it's gone a couple times, and each time we kind of noticed some things that were a little different at the house. So this time we decided, okay, set the camera up underneath the table. Took the baby monitor so we could hear and then left. So then we drove around the corner. We're sitting there with the baby monitor. And we hear, okay, they're gone. They're gone. Come on over now. And they were just parked around the corner. They came to the house. We walked right back in right behind them. Oh, my gosh. That's insane, Jay. That's nuts, dude. But we ended up keeping her as a babysitter because she apologized. It never happened again. But a few more times, we kind of baby cammed her and did the whole thing just to double check. But we're still friends with her today. I babysat everyone in my neighborhood, and I was always so afraid that there was going to be one. Because I knew so many people that had them. Right. And I don't remember ever seeing one or ever hearing about one, and I always went back and babysat again. So I think I was lucky, but I was obviously a great babysitter. You were conscious of it, though. Yeah, but I was always, always very aware. Like, there could be a camera on me right now. Right. Yeah. I mean, they've been around for a while. Do you know that I was a babysitter?
What? I babysat. When I lived in Connecticut, I think I was in eighth grade. I swear, I do not remember. Did you go to dance camp too? No. I don't remember how it happened. And if my parents remember, they can call in. But I babysat this couple's baby for the whole summer. Me. I was a babysitter. How old was the baby? Or the kid? A year? Year and a half? No way. Oh, yeah. How old were you? Eighth grade. And you took care of a... One-year-old? Yeah. You guys know I love kids. Love kids. Yeah. Always been really good with kids. In high school, I worked at the YMCA. Babyset 50 kids after school. That was my gig. Wow. And I don't know how I got this job, but I remember like, okay, we're all going to the beach. And I was like, the male nanny. No way. Yeah, going to the beach. We had a boy babysitter, and I had such a crush on him. It didn't last for very long. Your relationship with him? No. No, him being the babysitter because.
Just didn't have the maternal instincts. Finn's done it. Finn's babysat before. Really? Yeah, they love him because he doesn't do the normal thing. He plays the chase and tag and all outside activities. We would never. Would you not? No! I wouldn't either. Never in a million years. I would never, ever, ever, ever, ever hire a male babysitter. Here's the deal. If when we get our child, whenever that will be, and let's say Jasper's 13 years old, I'd be like, Jasper, you want to watch the kid? Yeah. Yeah, it wouldn't bother me. No males. Or Jake. No males. If you knew him. Yeah, if I knew him. It would be different. If it was like some random guy that's like, oh, I babysit. You'd be like, oh. Would you let the kid watch Jake? Yes. But I'm a male. Yeah, but you listen. And, you know, it comes down to how well do I know you? And even then, I mean, listen, so many times you hear of stories where. You would never suspect that it was that person. Yeah. You know what I mean? Yeah, for sure. And so, oh my gosh, we totally trusted. We totally trusted. And it turns out, blah, blah, blah. Forget it. Yeah, we had a woman. Her name was Kay. She was a family friend. If any of my siblings are listening right now, they're probably like in a ball in the corner in the fetal position. For years, a couple years, my parents, I think she was either an aunt or mother to one of our neighbors.
And she was an old lady. My parents would go out of town on vacation. She would watch us. And she was a witch. How old, Ella B? Because old when you're young is like 35. Probably like 75. Oh, wow. When you were a little kid? She used to wear her bathrobe around the house with her nightgown and she smelled like mothballs. Wait, wait, wait. Would she change? before your parents came home or when they came home? She was an overnight babysitter. Oh, wow. She would stay when they went on vacation. For weeks at a time. For days at a time. Days at a time. Yeah, and she used to, like, she had us on a star system. Like, we would get gold stars, silver stars, red, green, depending on our behavior. She used to tell us when we were eating spaghetti, she would be like, you know, my son. was jumping on the bed, and he hit his head on the dresser, and his brains exploded everywhere, and this is what it looked like. Oh, my gosh. She used, like, scare tactics. She dunked my sister in the bathtub. What? Are you kidding me? It's like, don't tell mom the babysitter's dead. Oh, it was a nightmare. So you get nothing. You lose. Good day, sir. Let me ask you. Was she ever nice?
Nope. My little sister has Down syndrome, so she had a special thing with my little sister. She was very protective of her, and she would have her own little side relationship with her, but she was always just like, even if she was nice, she was creepy. She called us lovey. She would go, lovey. Hello, lovey. Yeah. Weird. So we finally, like, we were so scared of her, and she would go, you better not tell your parents. Oh, my. And finally, one day we banded together and we're like, we're going to tell them. We are going to tell our parents this is over. Let's do this. You did it? We told them at first. They were like, no way. And they were laughing at us. And then once my mom finally believed us, she started crying. Really? That is terrifying. Did they fire her immediately? Oh, yeah. Immediately. Oh, my gosh. My wife's on the line. Hi, honey. Hi. Oh, my gosh. That is terrifying. Oh, yeah. Hello, lovey. It makes me so scared. This whole process is so scary. Yeah, we lost our nanny, Amanda. Like, how long has it been now, hon? A couple months? Yeah, about a month and a half, two months. Yeah, it's been a while. And we've been trying to find somebody to replace her. And I didn't even tell you this, hon, but I am looking into an au pair program.
No, I know. I saw your paperwork. No, I know. What I didn't tell you is that they contacted me the other day and they're like, you know... based on kind of your, you know, requirements and what you're looking for, you know, would you be open to having a mail opiate? No. No. And no. I didn't ask you. No. Because I knew what your answer was. Hey, listen, and I would have been crazy. I mean, if it had been me, I'd be like, are you trying to put a molester in my house? I'd have been weird about it, man. I'd be like, no. Well, I mean, like, already it's kind of an unusual and a little bit awkward situation. You have somebody coming from another country, you know, who in most cases has never even been to the United States before. Right.
Like a strange foreign man. Yeah. Hello, I am here to watch after Jake and the Luke and also for the Ryan. Why is the naked man in the bed? Can you tell me about small, bald-headed naked man in bed? Who is he? Oh, my gosh. Yeah, no male nannies, babe. Yeah, I told him. Hey, babe, I'd love to get that nanny cam, though, and hook that sucker up. Do it. A lot of people do it, and, you know, it's safe. It's like there's daycare centers now that you can log in on their website 24-7, and it has a live feed video into the room that your kid's in. Oh, that is so cool. Smart. It's really, really smart. Way, way, way better. Reassuring. I've looked at a couple, like, you know, daycare, preschool-type things, and, I mean, there was one I walked in, and I... practically started crying because it was so... Yeah, she was telling me that some of the ratios of person watching to the number of kids is gnarly. Yeah. You know, but, I mean, forget it. Well, thanks, babe. Love you. I love you. It's a weird process, man. 5701949 is our number if you want to give us a call. Is that my... That's my son.
My 11-month-old son, Luke, is a problem child. Don't call me dude. I'm daddy. No, you didn't. You said dude. I heard you. Okay, yeah. I heard it, though. It was dude, definitely. You didn't say dad. You have a request. Yeah, I got a request. That's my son, Luke. What's your request? I want a new nanny. Yeah, I know you do, son. We're working on it. Are you about to start describing what you want the nanny to look like? Golden. Golden blonde. D-cup. Okay, you're a nutball. At least a D-cup. You're a nutball. No older. 17. Okay. Oh, wow. That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard, son. Hold on, hold on. Let me go on. Come on. All right. Thank you. Thank you, Luke. 17 is legal in California. All right. Thank you. Thank you. Appreciate you. That's my 11-month-old son, Luke. He's a troublemaker. He's a troublemaker.
Got to get to the Mel Gibson stuff. Some pretty racist remarks. Oh, by the way, did you know that part four was out today? I mean, give me a break with it already. But anyway, Whoopi Goldberg was defending him and just getting full laid for defending Mel Gibson. So she went on the defense yesterday to try to defend her comments. We will play you those comments next. Heard on the Mikey Show now. Call 570-1949 or shoot him a text. 949mikey at gmail.com.

It really is. It really is. For me, it was a tribute. I really had to get myself into the right headspace. It's pretty awesome. To portray Wren McCormick. You did great. Thank you. Oh, my gosh. Yeah, Wren McCormick. He just dropped a Wren McCormick on us. A big city boy, moves to a small town, runs into some problems. It's pretty awesome. Sounds familiar. Stop it. That's very similar. San Diego is such a small town. Yeah. Life imitating art. Yeah, I just, I don't. I don't understand things here. Just trying to make my way. That's right. We have a new weather girl. We've been doing a lot today. We've had mariachis in the studio. We have had just a variety of different things. Dave Matthews came in. He did. Played a new song for us about my beard. Your face looks mean. Your face looks mean. And we have our... new weather girl, Sabrina, who's really young. How did you get the job? My dad is Jerome Ritz from Ritz-Carlton. Not the Ritz-Cracker, right? No, the Ritz-Cracker. What does that have to do with the radio? I don't know. I guess he knows the guy that owns this building. So you go to school here or what's the deal?
No, I don't go to school here. I'm sorry. No, I didn't mean in the building. I meant, do you go to school? Did you graduate? What are you trying to do? You want to get into broadcasting? I don't want to do anything. I just want to hang out. Sounds nice. My dad's making me go to school. I go to UCLA. You go to UCLA? Yeah. Really? Yeah, my dad's friends with booze. You know, booze, Alan Hamilton. That's the name of our building. Yeah. It even says on our building, it says Booze Allen Hamilton. Your dad's friends with booze. Yeah. He's friends with, like, Mike Booze or something like that. Oh, my gosh. I don't know. I try to stay out of it. So you're on summer break. Yeah, and he's making me do this stupid job. Oh, cool. Well, welcome. You're very tan. And look at her. She's very tan. She's got the fingernails, everything. What is this, the Mickey show or something? It's a Mikey show. Oh, right. So you don't listen a lot is what you're saying? No, I don't listen to the radio. Your dad just made you get the job? Yeah. He was like, hey, do booze a favor. Lucky us. He was like, hey, I know a little bit about booze, but not that kind of booze, you know? Oh, my God. Lucky us. We're so glad that you're so stoked to be here. Yeah, I'm totally stoked. Well, it works out kind of good because the weather's really been kind of crazy. Yeah, BTW.
It's hot. Yeah, it is. It's so hot. It is hot. And I'm not talking about like hot, like good hot, like sexy hot. Yeah. You're talking like it's been really warm outside. Like some sort of hate wave. That's hot. Some sort of like hottest weather we've had so far. It's going to be like. I don't understand a word she just said. Hottest weather we've had so far. Oh, hottest weather we've had so far. Yeah. Sorry. Yeah. You mean to like slow down for you or something? No, I don't. No, I don't, Sabrina. Well, too much for you. Too early for you, Mickey. Sabrina Ritz. No, I'm fine. My name's Mikey. Mickey. Uh, Sabrina. What do you take at UCLA? Sorry? What do you take? At UCLA. I take lunch bags. No, you take naps. Yeah, I take naps. I don't know. Some different classes. I'm just figuring it out. I've been there for a couple years now. How old are you, Sabrina? I'm 21. Why do girls that are 21, they put such an emphasis on the S's? Do you guys notice that? Yeah, I don't know. It's almost like there's a rattlesnake in the room sometimes. Yeah, true.
You've never noticed that, Sabrina? No. She's looking at me right now. Daggers. Are you done? I just want to get this done. All right, fine. What is the weather? A tanning appointment or something? No, actually, I'm going to get back to bed. Okay. This is so early. Like I said, it's going to be hot. It's a heat wave. And it's going to be like 80s at the coast. And inland, it's going to be like 90s and hotter. Brilliant. She looks like she could care less. She could care less. She doesn't look like she could care less. No, I think the point would be that I could care more and that would probably be better, right? If I cared a little more. Totally. My dad always says to me, try to care a little more, Sabrina. Sienna, would you hate hanging out with Sabrina for a day or would you love it? Don't answer that. She already knows. So you already know what my answer will be? I just... I didn't come in here for the roast. I came here to give the stupid weather and leave. Can I go? Yes, you can go, Sabrina. Okay, bye. Sabrina, she's kind of a pain in the ass. She knows booze. She knows booze? She knows booze. She's 21, yeah. Her dad knows booze. Mike Booze? Yeah. From Booze Allen Hamilton. That's right. That's the building we're in. So part four came out today of Mel Gibson, which, by the way, if you want to hear it, you can find it a million places. Everywhere. If you want to hear it. It makes me want to barf. So whatever. Honestly, for me, honestly, I'm played out with it. But still newsworthy. What's the latest stuff, Sienna? Well, he talks about how he wants to burn down the house that she lives in. He freaks out. on her because she didn't give him sex one night. See, at this point, you could basically say anything and it would be like, well, of course. He wants to, I don't know, kill a kangaroo and put it in her living room. This was mainly about, it's like, threatens her with physical violence and oral sex stuff. I mean, it's pretty crazy. Weird. Fascinating. And demanding it from her. I'm even kind of over it. I watched Lethal Weapon 3 last night. Did you really? Yeah, because I have that Netflix thing where I can watch on my Wii. Right. And so I was like scrolling through movies and I go, well, let's just remember the good times. And I clicked on it. I was like, yep, freaking genius he was. Hysterical. Well, Whoopi Goldberg has been supporting him and getting filleted. Killed. Oh, yeah, they're killing her for supporting him.
And so she wanted to kind of speak to that. I had the audacity. Did she say audacity? The audacity. She did not have the audacity. She's very audacious. I had the audacity. Some people have problems with different words. Listen. She was heated. It comes out. I understand. Hey, listen. Jay says he would never get a prenup. Prenub. Prenub. We got a prenup. I've heard library. Library. Valentine's Day. You can take a picture. A picture. I've said library. Library. I don't do it anymore, but I used to. Instead of wolf. I do that. Roof. Wait, what does Jay say? Roof. Roof instead of roof. Let's hear what she said. I had the audacity to say that I had some personal time.
with Mel that goes over years and years and said that I did not think of him as a racist. People lost their minds and said, oh, you are defending him. I do believe, had you actually watched the show, all of you nice bloggers out there and all the folks that sit around at home and try to figure out stuff to do, if you had actually watched the show, you would have heard us say, and you would have heard me specifically say, I don't condone this. I don't think this is right. I don't think this is smart. But here's the piece of information that I have. My experience tells me that this is not a racist. Now, being a black woman, you'd think you would give me a little bit of leeway to have some feel if I was around a racist. But okay. Well, this is the same woman that was dating Ted Danson when he blackfaced. He did the blackface. Yeah, but what does one have to do with the other? I'm saying she's kind of okay with things that are a little off color. Yeah. Well, wait a minute. No pun intended. Hang on a second. What Ted Danson did was at least meant to be humorous. Right. What Mel did was not meant to be humorous. However, I've said this before. I think two things can be true at one time. I think that it is possible for him to have made racial slurs and not hate blacks. To me, there's a difference between making racist comments.
Or a racist joke and being a racist. Because the racist to me means that you have a hate in your heart for a particular group of people. It's racist. And I think that there are even ethnic people involved. Listen, I've heard my own race make jokes about my own race. I make jokes about my own race. No, no, no. I understand. I understand. But I think what my point is, is that I think that it's possible to be two things at once. I don't think that he hates black people. I don't think he was aiming it at any race specifically. I think he was just... Hating everything and everyone and himself. Yeah. Danny Glover, dude. That's his boy. Is it? Yeah. Just because you co-star with somebody doesn't mean you. Well, unless you think that the time that he was co-starring with him secretly, he hated him. I don't know if he hates them, but I think he's a racist. If anyone's going to throw those slurs out there, you've got a little racial card in you. I don't know. I think.
good for her, Whoopi Goldberg, that she spoke her mind. Honestly, I see nothing wrong with what she said. She knows him personally. None of us know him. None of the people in the news know him personally. And she says from her experiences with him, she's an African-American woman. She does not think he's racist. To her face. I think you just said it, Sienna. He was throwing out venom. Yeah. Did you say that? Yeah, I said that he wasn't throwing out hate at any one race. He was throwing out hate at everyone, everything, and himself. He's obviously not right. And Whoopi is not saying, oh, he did a great thing. She knows he messed up. But she's saying, I personally don't think he's a racist. And I'm not going to point my finger at him. Maybe we take the word racist out of it and we just say hates blacks. Could you agree with that, L.O.B., that it's possible that he made those comments? but doesn't hate blacks. Oh, absolutely. But I understand what you're saying. You're saying that you believe that even to make a joke that has to do... It's not a joke, though. He didn't make a joke. He threw out slurs when he didn't think anyone was listening. That's true. You know? That's true. It's one thing to make a joke and be like, I kid, I kid. It was for the sake of humor. Sorry if it was in bad taste. He threw that out when he didn't think he had anything to justify. She's right. Yeah. She's right.
My office. Called my office and went off on the young lady that works there. I wonder what she means, by the way, when she says they called my office. Whoopi Enterprises. Like, I have my office. No, I'm sure that there's, like, a direct line or something if you want to leave a message about, I don't know. There are probably ways you can reach them. 4-1-1. Can I get the you, please? No, no, no. Can I get Whoopi's office, please? What city, please? New York City. Connecting. Oh, wow. Maybe it's like her publicist or something. I always wonder what that means. You're going to call because you think I'm doing something wrong? And you do the same thing to this young lady that you don't even know that Mel Gibson supposedly did? Who are you? Great point. You can kiss mother high. I don't get it. What did she say? They were calling her assistant, whoever answers the phones in her office. and dropping the hammer on that girl, doing the same thing Mel did. Exactly. Two wrongs don't make a right. And dropping the hammer on the girl that just answers the phone for Whoopi Goldberg, who has nothing to do with the situation other than she's friends with Mel Gibson. Yeah. Interesting. The whole... Oh, no. I don't... Cover up, Lauren. Yeah, cover up. Both of you guys cover up. You need to get off my boy, Mel.
Oh, really? Mel is a friend of yours? Long time friend. Family friend. You know, Topper... It's been a while since I've seen y'all. How old are you? You know how old I am. You're 39? 38. 39 years old? 39. Are you? I don't know how old you are. I just told you I was 38. I know, but I think you're lying. I think you're actually 39 and you work at the movie theater. No, I just got back from Australia. Oh, okay. Surf trip, man. I'm starting to think that maybe Topper drops names. I've heard four days in a row y'all been ripping this guy, man. And he's a good friend and he's misunderstood as most geniuses like myself are. Genius? Yeah, my IQ is 440. No, it is not. That'd be a world record. It doesn't go that high. Well, to you maybe. I'm looking at a guy who is a self-proclaimed genius who, by the way, mentions his... MySpace page. Yeah, what about it? Everybody that's anybody has a MySpace. Nobody has a MySpace anymore. Everybody. Who are you, by the way? No one has a MySpace. Don't look at me like that. Are you like 40? Almost. Older the berry, the sweeter the juice. Older the grosser. Leave our weather girl alone. That's the grossest thing I've ever heard you say, Topper.
It's the grossest thing I've ever heard you say. Well, I don't want to come in here and debate about Mel because, like I said, dude, he's a friend and I'm not going to stand for y'all. You've never met him. Hold on. Oh, he's going to fall out of his phone. Oh, really? Get off your phone. I thought he was going to show us that he had Mel Gibson's number. It's Mel on the phone now. As soon as I get out of this crap bin. Put the phone up to the microphone. He just told you to shut up, Mikey, on your own show. Are you cutting out? Oh, he's cutting out. Oh, is he? Yeah, he wants me to take him to Utah, man. I got to charter us up there. Yeah, let me see. I got to get him up to my place in Utah, dude. We got to clear the cobs out. He's got to clear the cobs. He's having a rough week. It doesn't help when, you know, people like you. Your friend has got a pierced tongue. People like you that don't even know him make fun of him. Take your sunglasses off. Fine. That's so weird. Oh, my gosh. How red are your eyes, dude? Put it back on. Put it back on. Put it back on. Put it back on. I told you I just got back from Australia. It's a 24-hour flight, but my plane gets here in 12. Oh, wow. Awesome. United Airlines flight 2021. No, man. Topper flies the friendly skies. Does he? Yeah. Topper has his own. Where's Woods, dude? I heard it. That guy's doing P90X. He is. Yeah. P for the P word because that's weak.
Really? That's a weak workout, dude. P90X is one of the hardest workouts there is. Dude, I do Q365Y. What? Really quickly, say it again. What do you do? Q365Y. What is that? It's a topper zone workout. Do 365 days a year. What's the Q for? Queen. You're queen. Queen you are. Really? No. Freddie Mercury invented it, but... I perfected it, okay? It's something I've been doing, dude. I've been getting my swole on. Can't you tell? Look at these abs. Don't show me that. Don't show me that. I've been staying lean and mean with the teen, brother. The teen? You have pierced nipples. The teen, protein. He's just a teen. Staying lean and mean with the teen, dude. Protein. You might not want to say that in front of people anymore, you know, because I don't know if you realize how that sounds. What I'm going to be doing, if y'all go to Topper. at MikeyShow.com. I'm going to be posting pictures of my abs because it worked for Ian Ziering, who's a friend, and Mario Lopez, and he's a friend, too. He just got his own TV show. I don't know if y'all heard. It's pretty badass, dude. They give it to the talented people, and he's a talented dude. Really? So you're friends with Ian Ziering? I don't know if it's him calling right now. I got to go, dude. Really? I got to go.
I don't know why you keep letting that guy on, Mike. Because he's a nutball, that's why. What happened? My music. What'd you do? I don't know. Topper probably screwed around with it. Probably. I'm so wasted. That was Topper. Okay, here we go, here we go. By the way, celebrity went undercover and was testing their chops at a karaoke bar. I got one word for you, dude. Yeah. Sienna. I was a really good student. And Jay. I'm a romantic, so sue me. On FM 94.9. Email I got from Eskimo Blue Water says that tomorrow morning at 7, she's going to be debuting a new style of music. So Sienna, what celebrity went undercover and was testing their chops at a karaoke bar? Jewel. Are you kidding me? Speaking of Eskimo Blue Water. Yeah. She went. In a disguise in L.A. to a karaoke bar wearing a dark wig, glasses, prosthetic nose and butt padding and was dressed in a business suit. And she took on the alter ego of Karen. And she's saying. She should have taken on the alter ego of someone named Eskimo. Yeah. She's saying who will save your soul and foolish games. Her songs. And I guess the people.
in the karaoke bar were nuts. They were going nuts, cheering like crazy, and one person even said... That's bad. Did you see it? I watched the video, yeah. That's awesome. A couple people said it to me. The reason she did this is for the Will Ferrell's thing, FunnyOrDie.com, and I guess she's going to do another one coming up here pretty soon. I think that's the raddest thing I've ever heard. She looked like a more portly and maybe like... A homelier version of Elaine from Seinfeld. Really? That's so good. Someone compared her to an American Susan Boyle. That's what they said she sounded like. Let me tell you, if like Jon Bon Jovi, you know, dressed up as somebody and went in and belted out a Bon Jovi song karaoke, that'd be rad. Check this out. I read, I don't know why, but I read Dennis Rodman's book. And he went to Hawaii with Pearl Jam. Yeah. With Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam. Right. So they go into this beach side bar and they walk in. They're going to have a couple beers, a little lunch. Well, there's a cover band on stage and they're tearing through these Pearl Jam songs. Yeah. They're doing all these Pearl Jam songs. Vedder goes, yeah, they're not doing it right. Gets on stage with them and starts singing his songs with this cover band. That is the coolest thing I've ever heard. Imagine sitting in a bar going.
Wow, that's really him. Oh, my gosh. Isn't that awesome? That would be the raddest thing in the world. And especially if you're in that band. Yeah. You're like, oh, my God. I'd be so nervous, though. Yes. You're looking over there and the real dude is doing it. Please don't go home, man. That's awesome. The other big part of that story is Dennis Rodman. They were boys. Eddie's from Chicago. Well, Eddie's from here. Yeah. But claims roots in Chicago, too. Rodman played for the Bulls, and Eddie was a Bulls fan and a Sonics fan, but they were hanging out. They were boys for a while. Crazy. Back when Rodman was semi-normal. Semi. Yeah. It was way back. Way back. It was a while ago. 5701949. So did she ever reveal who she was? I don't know. That's so cool. I'm sure people all found out towards the end. She sounded exactly like herself. I want to see that. Not hard to do. Yeah. Let's see. Tell me what you think about this. I got five pretty wacky prenuptial agreements. And I don't know that they're necessarily wacky. These are just some of the biggest ones. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have a prenup. Yeah, we want prenup. For every year that they are married, Katie Holmes will collect $3 million for up to 11 years, as well as a gigantic palatial house that they have in California.
This means during the marriage or after? After, you know, if they split up. So if they're married for eight years, she'll get $3 million for each year. $24 million. And a house in California. Yep. Sounds like a pretty good payday. Yeah. Pretty big. Also, if they last longer than 11 years, the prenup is null and void. Wow. She better get out of there at the 10-year mark. And Katie Holmes will receive half of his entire fortune. Oh, well, that would be a lot bigger payoff than the 33. Oh, yeah. She's hanging in there, all right. So maybe she should leave at 12 years. Oh, boy. Maybe they stay married forever. Charlie Sheen, Denise Richards. That didn't last. No. They had a prenuptial agreement that will give $4 million. To the one that did not cheat. Oh my God. How weird is that? So Charlie had to pony up four million. Did he cheat? I don't know. Charlie Sheen. Maybe next time he'll think before he does. Yeah. Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas. I love them. Catherine Zeta-Jones prenup with him entitles her 2.8 mil. Every year the marriage remains in effect. Those two seem very in love. They do. Maybe it's an act.
She likes her older men, too. Yeah, she does. She's like a little Sienna. Older Sienna. Is he way older than her? Yeah. Really? 20 years or something. Really? Really? Do you know that Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman, they have one? God, who makes more? Yeah, good question. Great question. Gotta be her, right? Keith Urban seems more relevant, though. You know what I mean? That just sprained my brain. I know. Who makes more, Nicole? Who's worth more, Nicole Kidman or Keith Urban? Gotta be her. She's probably got more staying power, but he's more relevant now. Yeah, but... It must be that she makes more. Here's why. Keith Urban nets $640,000 for every year that he is with her. So she made him sign it. Oh, wow. There's a clause that says that if he, a former cocaine addict, uses illegal drugs... he will not receive a cent of her fortune that is estimated to be worth 150 mil. Yeah, when they first started dating, he was in and out of rehab. And she was married to Tom Cruise, too, so I'm sure she got a piece of that change. Well, you know how those Australian cowboys can be. Oh, yeah. See, I don't know much about Australian cowboys. Right, because he's the only one. Yeah, he's the only one. No, no, no, all the guys in the outback, those are cowboys. Yeah, but they're not country western singers.
Well. Brad Pitt and Angelina. Oh, they're not even married. Maybe they're California domestic partners. Common law. Common law? Okay. It says that reports indicate that if Pitt and Jolie are bound, are bound, that it will guarantee her custody of the kids if the marriage goes south. Why would he sign that? Wow. I would never sign that. Yeah. I would never sign up. He's basically giving his kids away. Yeah. Full custody? That's what he seemed like. Maybe that's why he won't marry her. Maybe. Are prenups a good idea or are they bad luck? Good idea. I don't like them. I don't like them. I don't like them. I think it's basically putting the caveat in there of... Just in case. Yeah. Probably going to get a divorce. I think they're a great idea. You think they're a great idea? Well, okay, so here you are. You've worked hard all your life. You've accumulated all this money. All of a sudden, everybody is interested in you. You've got all these women that are just throwing themselves at you. How do you know if they're for real? Yeah, I guess when you reach that level of stardom. Not for me. I don't need one, clearly. If you don't feel that you can make that sort of discernment.
Maybe not get married. Don't get married. Don't get married. Yeah. Well, look at all the people that have been used and abused. Yeah. Well, yeah, there's a lot of people that have been used and abused. But my feeling is if I go into a marriage with a clause that gets me out, I shouldn't go into a marriage. Yeah, it's I see what you're saying. And like, it's very much kind of a bright side perspective. And I get it. I totally get it. And I agree with you. Yeah. But when we're talking about hundreds of millions of dollars. That's pretty rough to give up half of what you've earned. Wait a second. The only, you guys know my take on divorce. For sure. The only thing I feel like you get a divorce for is infidelity. Right. It's the only thing that allows for a divorce. But if that person's unfaithful, you're in a state where there's no fault. Right. And even if you're the one that makes all the money and you date someone and they cheat on you, you still have to pay them out money if you're living in California. That's 100% true. That is 100% true. Now, in my world, I cannot get into a relationship with someone if I have any doubt in my mind that that person is going to be unfaithful. But I'll tell you what I can't do. I cannot go into it thinking to myself that it may not work out because in my mind, it's a contract.
It's a binding contract that says we're not allowed to get into any kind of fight. Here's what we're not allowed to do. We're not allowed to change in a way that would make us incompatible anymore. Who gets married thinking that the other person's going to cheat on them? No one. Some people think that it might happen, which to me is the same thing. No. Yeah, it is. Not to me. You're thinking that it could happen. I'm thinking that it could happen. I'm thinking I can only control myself. This person is the greatest person I've ever met, and I want them to be my partner. You have to know that you can't control another human being and what they're going to do. You can control yourself, and so why not protect yourself in case anything happens? You're not saying it's going to. You're not hoping it's going to. You're not wishing it's going to. I'm pulling the temptation out of the mix. Well, basically what I'm doing is like, okay, hey, we're meeting, we're dating. All of a sudden we're getting serious. What I want to do is I'm going to take the temptation of marrying me for the money out of the mix. If you love me for me, you're always going to be with me. So why do you need something that protects you? That means that you're testing. Both ways, no. You're having to do a litmus test. And if it comes out purple, that means, oh, you do love me. If you're going to stay with me for the rest of our lives.
You're going to be taken care of anyway, aren't you? If you haven't figured that out by the time you're making that kind of a commitment. But I have. Maybe not be with them. People act. I mean, people can be really, especially in a place like Hollywood, be a really good actress. And you're going to convince that person that you love them with all your heart and no matter what. And you are around and you've said all the right things and you've done all the right things. But in the back of your head, you're like, but. You're freaking Brad Pitt. So if I marry you... Let's say that you have that philosophy in life and you go, listen, there could be people that could, you know, be an actor and they're acting in order to get my fortune. If you're that guy, okay, don't get married. Because what is marriage? Are you saying every celebrity can't get married? Well, what's marriage? It's a contract. What is marriage? Marriage? Oh my... Do we have time? Yeah. A union. It's a lot. Yeah, marriage. It's a union. It's a commitment. It's a contract, like you said. Lives committing to stay together for the rest of their lives. Yes. It's a lifelong commitment. Right. And so if that is what it is and you still have in your head, but this person that I am going to agree to this with could be an actor. They could be. I'm not 100%. Listen, I'm 99% sure they're not acting.
In fact, I'm willing, well, I'm not willing to bet my life on it. If I were willing to bet my life on it, I would go for it without a prenup. But I'm not willing to bet my life on it. I think there's a chance, I'm marrying L.O.B., a chance L.O.B. could be an actor. Even though we've fallen in love, I think we have. I think we've fallen in love. You've fallen in love. Mike, people that have these doubts aren't going to get married. You are going to be like, L.O.B. freaking loves me and I love her. Right. You have no idea she's acting. Yeah. At that level. But you believe. But in order for me to get a prenup, I have to kind of think maybe. No. It's covering your bases. You have to think that something could happen. You don't know what. Not necessarily that she's going to cheat, not necessarily. You don't know what's going to happen. You never know what life is going to bring you. So why not protect what you have right now? I wouldn't sign one and I don't need one, so I wouldn't put one out there. I'm just saying someone at that level. But it's just tough. I mean, when you have expectations for people, a lot of times you get disappointed because you can't expect other people to have the same convictions that you do. And just because marriage means this to you and you think that it means that to that person too, you can't always control.
them changing their mind or them having a lapse of judgment or any number of things. You can't ever. You're 100% right. There's no way I'm doing it based on, man, if that's anywhere a part of my reality, just don't get married. Because let me ask you this. Why is marriage, and we're talking about that guy, you know, the guy that says, I'm just going to have an insurance clause here, right? That guy. Why is marriage so important to that guy? Why take that step? Honestly, I wouldn't even have been offended if my husband had said, I want you to sign it. I wouldn't have been. I don't think that he would love me any less. I know who I married. And if I had asked him to sign it, he wouldn't have had a problem. I guarantee it. Because he knows who he married. So do you cut that check happily? If something does happen, she cheats on you. You cut that check with a smile? Not only am I not happy about it. Not only am I miserable about it, all of that stuff, and I mean both ways. When the stuff happens and somebody gets this amount of money, this person gets it, I think both sides, awful, awful, awful, awful. You hope no one has to go through it. Ever. It's the worst. Don't forget tonight's 8 o'clock album, Feist, The Reminder. And also don't forget, Independence Jam 2010 is still for sale if you want to get a hold of it.

On FM 94.9. Tell me what the text said. I like that one. My mom texted me about the whole prenup thing. She said, prenups are a great idea when you have assets to protect. It's like having insurance. You don't assume you're going to be injured, but you want to protect yourself if you are. One's an accident, mom. No, it's not because... That one's an accident. You had to read that just so you... Yeah, because I said that's a great point. I like that. Okay, but is it an accident if you get in a car crash? No, okay. Yeah, that's an accident. You get in a car and you have to have insurance and you want insurance because you could get an accident in a car. The accident is an accident. You didn't choose it. Okay, but what about the person who gets cheated on in a marriage and...
What did they do, though? It was an accident that they married in the first place because they didn't know that the other person was going to cheat. They didn't have anything wrong. I've never bought that bit. What? I'm telling you, I've never bought that bit. I think it's one of those things, and we've got to come up with a name for it, where you say it, and it sounds really great when you say it, but I think that when you get cheated on, there was something about, when you look back on it. You go, okay, maybe I ignored that. People change. So nobody's ever been blindsided before? What about skydiving or something? And you get hurt skydiving. You want to have some sort of insurance so you can go to the hospital. But you chose to skydive. Yeah, you chose it. You chose that. But you chose that person. But you chose that person. If you chose that person, I believe that you can always look back and you can go, hmm, maybe. No, what about the people that change? They have a midlife crisis. They, like, develop a sex addiction. You know what midlife crisis is? Midlife crisis is buying a Porsche.
No. Midlife crisis. Becoming a vegetarian. Midlife crisis, becoming a vegetarian and growing a beard. That's a midlife crisis. And some guys, they act out in immature different ways or some girls as well. And they're like, I want to see if I still got it. I'm going to get. It's awful. See if I can get some tail. It's awful. As well as you think you know someone, people can change. People can change. Absolutely. Hey, Donald Duck. Kourtney Kardashian, hot or not? Not. Not? Not at all. Not? Not. Whoa. She's a little Kardashian. She flip-flopped. Donald Duck, Julia Roberts, hot or not? Hot? Yeah. You like the redheads? Milk. Milk. Milk. Milk. Donald Duck, Zooey Deschanel. That's the girl from Elf that sings in the shower.
Definitely hot. Try to figure Donald out, you know, trying to get what Donald's into. Yeah. Donald, Lady Gaga, hot or not? Oh. Oh. No, no, no, no. His feathers just got all ruffled. Yeah. He's getting upset. Jail got all whacked. Easy one. Donald Duck, Alyssa Milano. What? Donald, are you nuts? Donald, are you nuts? You got me. I'm kidding. You got me, too. I was like, what? Not a chance. My first crush. Let me tell you something. Is there a guy in the world, including Donald Duck, that doesn't think that Alyssa Milano's hot? No. There's not. My husband. Elton John. Elton John. Elton John would sleep with her. I wish. Clay Aiken just called in and was like, she is the hottest girl. I would dare.
Adam Lambert loves her. Yeah. Adam Lambert just ran into the room, screamed Alyssa Milano's hot, and ran out. She's like one of those, she defies what usually happens to females. I feel like she got hotter as she got older. God. And I loved her when she looked like a dude back in fifth grade. Samantha. She is beautiful. Gorgeous. Alyssa Milano. Loves her some baseball players. You know, we haven't really, we haven't really made a big deal out of it, which we should have because L-O-B drinks that, I haven't. Kombucha is, it's a fermented drink. Tea. Well, they call it a tea, but it tastes like vinegar. And it's got little pieces of mushrooms on the bottom of it. Gross. And they say that it's really good for you. It's not necessarily mushrooms. It isn't mushrooms? No, it's not necessarily. They don't know what it is. Some of the different ones are made with mushrooms or like. What else is that little bits of stuff?
It's like fungus. Yeah. Isn't fungus mushroom? It can be. It can be. It can be something different, though. Yeah. Fungus takes different forms, not always mushroom. Some of it's dirt. You know, dirt is delicious in your drink. Why'd it get recalled? It hasn't been recalled. No? But has it been recalled? No. They won't sell it. Isn't it taken off shelves? It's been taken off shelves voluntarily by the retailers because it's being investigated. So you can't buy it anywhere? No, you can. Oh, you can? I got a tip. You have a source? I'm not saying it on the air. You have to search. I got a tip, and I'm going after the show. Really? I'm going to fix them up for me. Yeah. The places that we're selling them were places like Whole Foods and stuff before, and now you can't find it anywhere. I got all these free coupons. Nowhere to use them. Yeah, a little bean's got a source. I'll pass. There's senior beans. What kombucha lovers didn't know is that there's alcohol in there. Well, I knew that there was. Oh, really? No, I mean, even a soda will have a trace amount of alcohol in it. A soda has a trace amount of alcohol? Oh, yeah. The food coloring, the flavoring. Vanilla extract has alcohol in it. That's a good point. Well, kombucha has in each bottle a little bit more than 5% alcohol, which is the legal limit. No, no, no. 0.05.
It says 0.5. 0.5, yeah. Yeah, 0.5. Yeah. 5%. That's half a percent. 0.5. I said 0.5. Oh, yeah. If it was 0.5. If it was 5%, that'd be more than a beer. Did I not say the point? No. You said 5. Okay, sorry. And then I said 0.05, which is wrong. 0.5. That's 0.5. That's minuscule. But that's the legal limit for a drink not to be considered. alcoholic however because it contains alcohol and the fermentedness and everything they're saying that that they're looking into it because it may need to be in the beer and wine section see the problem with it because they don't pasteurize it so like the longer that it sits there and ferments the alcohol level can rise and rise and rise so it's like not every bottle is the same so the FDA is trying to be like well if you just pasteurized it and regulate a bit Pasteurized kombucha? But then that takes away the benefits. I mean, hey, I'm over 21, so I don't care if you put it in a liquor store or else I'll go get it. That's crazy. It's all Lindsay Lohan's fault. Why? It is. Because her stupid bracelet went off because she had like 15 kombuchas in one sitting. Really? Yeah. Her scrambler bracelet went off because she was having the kombucha. Lauren?
I know that you're gullible and everything. I think maybe her scram bracelet went off because she had a couple of Long Island iced teas. And said... In a kombucha bottle. She's been seen. She was, like, getting her hair done or something, and she had, like, several bottles in a row. I've only had more. You're not supposed to have more than one. Several bottles in a row of what? McClure's. McClure's whiskey. In a kombucha bottle. This story has been around for a little bit and some people may have known that, but over the last month they've been doing research and now it's all of a sudden everywhere. Oh my gosh, kombucha has alcohol in it. And so I saw it last night and we need to specify Lauren's not drinking it at work anymore. Lauren's not a hippie, but I think she's a hippie because she drinks kombucha. I haven't had any in weeks. You haven't? You must be. Joneses. I am. I feel weird. It's like my energy level is like. Go have one. Scratching the inside of your elbow. But you have a source. Now I do. I just got tipped off today. Got a new tip. Yeah. Hillary just came in.
You like that stuff? I do. It sucks to not be able to find it. Hillary's not a hippie, but I think she's a hippie because she drinks kombucha. Are you a hippie? I am a hippie on the inside. Sometimes on the out. So you do the organic, the all-natural? Oh, yeah. Ask Sienna at your birthday party, your surprise party. I had a couple glasses of wine. Sienna's pregnant. And I kind of went on a rant to her and Todd about all the... All the baby products, the food, the household cleaners. No way. Gnarly and organic and careful and BPA and phthalate free you gotta be. No, my gosh. And at the end of it, I was like, whoa, I'm sorry. I just ranted. I'm a little bad. No, it was great. I have one foot in both camps. Me too. Firmly. Me too. Like, I... I kind of like see some of that stuff. And then the other part of me is like, you're crazy. And the other part's like, no, I'm not. I'm for real. And I'm like, no, you're clearly a nut job. And I'm like, no, you're not. Well, every little bit counts. And like, you know, there's all so many studies now about why autism is on the rise. That's why I got that foot over there. Yeah. Okay.
So, and now when they test women's breast milk or just like do blood tests on women, the level of environmental chemicals that are in our systems, which when we're carrying these babies gets passed right on to them is like insane. And it's higher than it's ever been in history. Here's what fights the, here's what fights. So I'm totally, I hear it and I'm like, yeah, it's true. It's true. And then the other side of me is like, you also have women that are like, do, you know. do crazy stuff and their children are healthy. Or let's say they don't even do crazy stuff, right? Let's just say that they eat a Big Mac and they also, you know, they're not even doing drugs. They're not smoking crack. They're not smoking cigarettes. They're not whatever. But they're... They're drinking Coca-Colas. They're doing all this crazy stuff. And the kids are healthy. Well, here's one thing. I don't want to get on my soapbox. Don't you? The largest organ in your body is your skin. So anything that you...
put on there, like, topical that you put on there yourself or anything in the environment from all the pollutants, anything that goes into your skin that gets, like, processed by your kidneys and it goes, you know, it's in your system. Yeah. That's right for, like, babies. And even me, like, I bought by all, like, paraben-free lotions, shampoo. What is paraben? What is that? I never even heard of paraben. It can affect your hormones. It's, like, I'm learning about new things I've got to be afraid of. Okay, so, like, we're adopting a kid. I can't use paraben? Well, paraben's like a preservative, and it... It makes the lotion, it congeals the lotion so it's not all runny. So what do I use on my child's butt? A coconut, a raw coconut. A raw coconut. And you get the good stuff. I will too. I will be a psycho dad. You will, trust me. But it's not a big deal. You just got to know what you're buying and putting on your kids. Oh my gosh. About eight years from now, we're going to learn about some new thing eight years from now that we never... I'll be like, Sienna.
I can't believe that you're using Sotokwins. Do you know how many Sotokwins are in that product? And you're going to be like, what's a Sotokwin? I don't know what a Sotokwin is. But we're learning. But every little bit helps. But people told me, someone said, because I was like, oh, I'll just get Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo. No! They were like, no. No, that's good. You need to get Aveeno or something. I'm like, oh my gosh. Not even that. Oh my gosh. No, go to Henry's, California baby. Oh, wow. My mom and dad used Johnson & Johnson on me. I became an alcoholic. See the relation? I've been drinking organic milk. Good. Hormone-free. I have been. It tastes better. There you go. It lasts longer, too. It also stinks to high heaven, doesn't it? It does, dude. The lovely and talented hippie is coming up next. That's right. Hillary's up next. And we'll come back here tomorrow morning at 6 o'clock and do it all over again. Mikey in the Morning, about the music all day and night.
