The Mikey Show aired on FM 94.9 following a mass layoff of 15 staff members, including news girl Sienna, which devastated host Mikey and the remaining crew who had to continue without her despite instant chemistry and strong fan reaction. The broadcast featured recurring bits like the Buzzword game with 'camel' as the word, the 'That's a true statement' cup game sparking debates on topics like women using sex appeal and the Goo Goo Dolls song 'Name,' and Sam the Cooking Guy discussing his new book and grilling philosophy. Callers weighed in on the layoffs, expressing sadness and frustration, with some blaming Mikey despite his efforts to keep Sienna, and others discussing the show's identity and chemistry in her absence. Sports updates on the NFL and NBA, celebrity bits like the old man cold read, and promotional segments for local events and advertisers rounded out the show, but the core was the emotional transition and redefinition of the morning show format.

It's different and I don't like it, but this is the deal. We were not on the air yesterday. And the reason that we were not on the air is because we were having a real bad day. The radio station let go of a lot of people yesterday. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 15 people were let go. And Sienna was one of them. And we're very, very sad and we're very disappointed. But there was nothing that I could do about it. And I wanted to. And, you know, it's business. And because it's business, I did my side of the business, which is consult my attorney and look at my contract. That's business. Simply business.
I wasn't trying to fight with the company. I simply wanted to exercise any right that I had, and I did not. And so it was able to be done, and it stinks because we love Sienna. And, you know, for those of you that are new listening to The Mikey Show, you may not know who everybody is to begin with. I'm the host of the show. My name is Mikey. I'm 41. Woods does sports for us. He's 35. Lauren O'Brien, L-O-B, is 30. She is our assistant producer and also a comedian. Sienna was our news girl. And that's who we lost. Jay's our producer. He is 48 years old. And we also have a phone screener, although he is...
A part time member of the staff. And I don't know, you know, I don't know ever what the deal is. I don't want to ask. I just know he's here every day. Chris is here every day. And I'm real happy about it because he's the best doing what he does. No question. No question. And speaking of that, you know, part of the thing that was so tough for me was that I feel and you can call us. 570-1949. You're waking up right now. You're just hearing this. Sienna is no longer on the show. And the thing that's so rough is that, first of all, I used to work over at Rock 105. And when our contract ran out in 2009, I did not have a news girl for like the last couple of months.
Because my news girl was out on maternity leave. And so I was talking to my attorney and we were trying to get a new deal done to stay at the old station. And one of the things that we had to do was get a deal. from another station so that we had any kind of let was so you find out what there was fair market value we needed to establish what fair market value was which if fair market value was way less than what they were offering us well then feast we got to take what we're you know offered and so uh sienna was filling in for my news girl and we had instant chemistry um now the instant chemistry was great everything was awesome The only thing is, is that as I was putting together the thing to come over here, I did it with all of my old crew. I'd worked with them for 10 years, whatever. And I didn't know it, but they'd been talking to management and working out their own deal to form their own show and stay. And they didn't tell me about it. So I'm under the assumption that we're all coming. We're all either staying over there or coming over here.
And on December 17th, 2009, I got called up to the office to find out what was going to happen. Were we staying at Clear Channel or were we coming over here to FM 94.9? And I found out that I was not staying, that they were not going to match my portion of what was offered to all of us. The rest of my crew over there had decided that they were going to stay, form their own show with autonomy, no longer call it The Mikey Show, remove the name Mikey, and stay over there. And I was devastated. In fact, it's the toughest thing I've ever been through in my life. I was shocked and didn't believe it. I thought, no, this can't be. And then my next thought was, oh, no, I'm out of work.
Because FM 94.9 was hiring the Mikey show with me and all the other ones. And so I'm out of work. And they had everybody's, you know, names on the docket ready to go. So I'm out of work. And I called the general manager of FM 94.9 and told him, fully expecting him to say, sorry, pal, but we wanted the Mikey show. We didn't want the Mikey, just the Mikey. And he, with incredible dignity and incredible character, said, we will allow you to put together a show and come over here. Now, at the time that I was putting together the show, I didn't think that I could have Sienna come over here. And the reason is because one of the things that I knew in my contract was that
I could not bring any employees outside of my own show over there. I couldn't bring any employees from Clear Channel over here. I couldn't do it. Lest anybody think that I ever planned on bringing Sienna over here, I couldn't. In my mind, I didn't think I could. But then there's this whole right to work thing. I had even asked a girl to be the news girl because I didn't think I could have Sienna. I asked this other girl. She said yes. And I had to go back to that girl and say, listen, this is really tough. But I just found out that Sienna can come over here. And I didn't think she was available. And the girl was really cool, totally understood. And Sienna came over to be a part of this new version of the Mikey show along with Woodsy and L.O.B. and Jay. And she was a rock to me because.
A, we had instant chemistry. Better chemistry than I've ever had with a news girl. Better chemistry than I've ever had. But more than that, we had this bizarre connection where she really understood my psychology. And she could instantly tell if something was wrong with me. A lot of people, when you listen, you don't know that. You don't know that that's the deal. But that was the deal. She would know if something was wrong with me. She'd say, Mike, what's wrong? And I'd go, I'm all right. And she would go, Mike. Mikey. And then you would say, freaking Woods. I would say. We would go from there. Or she would say, what did Woods do? Right. Exactly.
And she would tell me things like run. I'd want you to stand up and I want you to run into the beanbag. I want you to run and jump in the beanbag. Now, I can tell you that no one can get me to do silly things like that. But Sienna did. She also kept me on track and she understood me in a very, very different way. And I fought to the very. last that i could fight and uh i wanted to be here when they let her go i wanted to be here and yet i didn't want to be here because it's so awful but i knew that because being here was the hardest thing to do it was also the right thing to do and so i was waiting in the studio on the couch and uh we had an appointment
to go in and meet with the boss to give her the bad news. And she walked in 10 minutes early and came into the studio and I had been bawling. And, you know, we looked at each other and, you know, I have been very distressed, very distressed because I think that she is the best at what she does. Unfortunately, Our economy right now is in the crapper. And so 15 people had to be let go yesterday. And, you know, it's just the state of radio. But beyond it being the state of radio, I think it might be just the state of the economy, period. The state of our country. Yeah. So there was nothing that could be done. But I am so sad. So sad.
Now, I asked if we could keep our website the same for a while. I don't want to take her off of that. Weird. I don't want to take her off of our rejoins. You know, and I've been talking to her and she said that this is sort of like, she feels like it's sort of like a breakup. I said, yeah. I said, it does feel like sort of like a breakup. I said, but it also kind of feels like when your parents force you to break up with somebody. Like, you don't want to break up. That's a great way to put it. But your parents say you have to break up. And we're moving to Cleveland. Yeah. You know, and you're like, well, no, we can't do that because I love this person and we're in love and da-da-da, you know, not in love, but you know what I mean. In work love. In work love. I'm in love with Sienna. Who isn't? And so, you know, we couldn't do anything.
And I think you go through those stages of not, you know, because and here's the thing. Somebody said yesterday on Facebook and I'm not telling you this because I'm trying to throw anybody under the bus or trying to, you know, anything like that. I just I want to say it because I think it's worth mentioning. I think the person deserves an answer. Somebody was like, man, I wish I could take the day off whenever I was sad. Here's the problem. See, the problem with with what we do. is that the very definition of our job is that we bring our friendship to you on the radio. That's been the design of the Mikey show from the beginning. The design, like if you look at every morning show on the air, you know, every morning show has their shtick. You know, Dave Rickards over at whatever, Jack FM, you know, his bit, his shtick is he talks like this. He talks like a big time DJ. And he's got bells and whistles and he plays these sound effects and go whoop, whoop, whoop, whoop. And then he's got a guy that talks like this and that's their shtick. And it's been working, you know, they've done it for years and it's what they do. You know, and if you are, you know, if you're a guy and you dig that, that's cool, you know. Then there are other people and their shtick is that they give away purses and stuff.
That's their shtick. They give away purses. And they have a very large audience for the purse giveaways. My shtick, I found a long time ago, my shtick will be whoever I am, put it out on the radio, because I saw that that worked for Howard Stern. And if that means that who I am is a very sort of introverted, odd... Listen to Miley Cyrus type music because I really do. And, you know, yet I'm I have tattoos and talk about the fact that I'm short, overweight and, you know, talk about all of my frailties and all of my insecurities and bring people onto the program that are very talented and funny, but more than talented and funny, very likable.
When I had breakfast with L.O.B. for the very first time, I went away from that breakfast going, I like her. And people are going to want to be her friend. They're going to like her. Woods, forget about it. It's like a no-brainer. He's the funniest scene in any movie, and he's Vince Vaughn in real life on the radio right here. And you get to hear him every day, which is incredible that you get that. Jay is just crazy. And you get to hear that. He's their perverted uncle. That's really funny. That you want to go out drinking with. Yeah. You know. And Sienna is just flat out one of the most positive, kindest, sweetest people I've ever known. And I just love her. I just love her. And it's just sad. You know, it's sad. And but at the end of the day, it is a business. It is a business. And I understand that. And, you know, and 15 people. And I'll tell you this. Our boss, I feel bad for the guy because he's a good dude. He's a good dude. He's a fair dude. He's probably the fairest dude I've ever worked for ever. He is.
Just a badass. He's such a good guy. And that dude cried. You know? But it had to be done. 570-1949. M1, Carrie from North Park. Hi. Hey, how you doing? Good, how are you guys? Good. I just wanted to call and say my jaw dropped to the floor when you made your announcement this morning. I'm really sad and I'm going to miss her laugh and her motherliness. And you guys have like a foursome really worked together. And I totally agree with what you're saying is you brought friendship to the radio. I've loved it ever since I've moved down here. And I'm really sad to hear the news. Well, I am too. And I'm going to forgive you for forgetting me as part of the foursomes. I mean, it was more than just Sienna J. It was more than just Sienna J. Woods and L.O.B. I was here, too. Okay? I was here, too. She's frazzled like the rest of us. You're frazzled like the rest of us, so I will forgive you for that. But, well, thank you. We appreciate it. Thank you, Carrie. You're awesome. I love you all. We love you. We love you. And that's the thing, man. I mean, yesterday, I got our Facebook all fired up, you know, like a jerk. And people were very...
upset and hurt and sad and fearful. There was a lot of hurt, sadness, and fear yesterday. Yeah. A lot. My whole bit is that when you're pissed off, you're hurt, sad, or fearful. Some guy said he doesn't believe that. He believes that it's also frustration and confusion. Well, I call frustration and confusion frustration and confusion. Yeah, I'm very frustrated or confused. And I'm not saying that every time you're hurt, sad or fearful, you're angry. But what I am saying is, is that every time you're angry, you are either hurt, sad or fearful. I am saying that. I was very sad this morning when I walked in because I'm usually the first person in here with Sienna. And that's our bit. We have a morning routine.
And I get to hear about Sage, her little baby. And I tell her about usually the dinner I had the night before. And we shoot the breeze every morning. And it's going to suck without her. Let's see. M1 Jim from Lemon Grove. Hi, Jim. I don't know. I just think that you're no Howard Stern and Woods is no Vince Vaughn. At what point do you guys kind of say, this thing isn't happening? Well, I guess we do that when the ratings are really bad, but they're not. The ratings are really good. Feast. That's my response. You don't have to tell him a feast. I think I will. Yeah, it's fine. I think I will. But, I mean, dude, I'm giving you a real answer to it. Is that it? Did you hang up? You hung up. Sally. You know who Jimmy V is? Just never give up. Yeah. No matter what. Just never give up. Just throw in the towel. Keep fighting. Right. Well, yeah, I mean, he says at what point do you give up? Well, first of all.
I don't know that you direct that to us. I don't know that you direct that to us because, you know, we're doing good. You know, we're doing good. But that's beside the point. You don't have to hang up. I'll talk to you. I think he blew his mind. Oh, okay. There goes my whole argument. I got nothing I'd like to stand on. This is the definition of the word coward. A person who lacks the courage to do or endure dangerous or unpleasant things. So he hung up. You didn't have the courage. Listen, courage is in short supply with men. I really believe that. Courage is in short supply with men. I believe that every dude that's in Afghanistan has courage because he takes balls to do that. Big time. Big balls. Okay, so every man and woman that's in Afghanistan or fighting in our armed services that actually, you know, they're out there with bullets flying over there, they have courage.
But I also think that it takes courage and balls to say your name. You know, say who you are. You know? Your real name. Your real name. Yeah, my name's Mike Esparza. I'll say something. If I have something to say and I mean it, I'll say it to you. Yes. Now, if you don't, you're a coward. You're a coward. But you already know that. Because cowards know. You know where you know. You know in your gut that you're a coward. Every coward knows they're cowardice. Just like every warrior knows in their gut they're a warrior. That's why they're able to be a warrior. Let's see. M1 Cave Dweller from Wisconsin. Good morning, Mikey Show. Hi. How are you guys doing? We've been better. We've been better. Weird. Jerks ever just kick you when you're down? Yeah, of course.
Well, hey, listen, here's the thing. I wish that guy the best because I'll tell you something. And it's the same deal with the people that write real bad stuff on Facebook or that call in and say things like that. If you have a life that involves a loving relationship with someone and you've got a great job and... you really find your life fulfilling. You don't place that call. And the reason that you don't is that to place that call makes you feel ghoulish. The only thing that allows that call to be placed is if you don't have the barrier between ghoulish behavior and ghoulish action. You don't have that barrier. Something makes you a ghoul. Now, I know because I used to be a ghoul.
But who I was was this extraordinarily insecure, very unhappy, inward creep. You know, that's who I was. And guys that do that, they're just, they're cowards. They're cowards. And by the way, just so every coward listening knows, I will always put you on the air. I will never stop you. You know, I invite you to give your name. But I understand that cowardice won't allow you, and so that's all right, but I'll still put you on, you know? Go ahead, cave dweller. I just wanted to say that not only do I feel bad for Sienna, but for the other, what is it, 14 people that had to be let go yesterday. Absolutely. They were good people. Yeah, for sure, for sure. And, you know, I hope that the Facebook stuff didn't sting you too bad, Mike.
I know that that's got to be a little difficult to have to bite your tongue while some of that stuff's going on. Yeah, I mean, and it is, but at the same time, you know who doesn't have people putting a bunch of stuff on Facebook? Probably the guy that doesn't throw, you know, ammunition out there for them to do it. Well, but at the same, you know, and I told you this yesterday, don't... don't shoulder all the responsibility for that because that's not your fault. You know, you're allowed to feel how you feel and express yourself the way you want to. You've always said that yourself, you know, and it's up to other people to respect you enough to realize that even though you let us into your personal life, that's a privilege and not a right. Hey, thank you, man. It's rad. I love you, bro. I love you, Cave Dweller. Thank you, bro. One of the best, dude. Right there. He is, man. We have every phone line lit up. And so when we come back, we'll talk about it. You know, Sienna is no longer a part of the Mikey show because there was 15 people let go yesterday and she was one of them. And she loved the Rolling Stones. This is her favorite song. She's not dead. She's still alive and we love her. But she loved the Rolling Stones and that's what we did this one for. I love this guy. Since the Duke sex scandal. More from the Mikey show coming up in a respectful and sober manner. Be a part of the show.

I knew this was going to be the most difficult part. Now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. I don't pass gas in front of my wife. Lauren. I wouldn't make my own dress if I knew how to sell. Woods. Do you have a problem with me peeing in my backyard? No. Because that is done at least three times a week. Zienna. Tomorrow's the royal wedding. And Jay. I've had my tips frosted. I believe you. I believe you. Uh-oh. FM. You'll notice that when it comes to those rejoins, Sienna is still in that rejoin. And it's because I don't want to hear it without her right now. I know. And, yeah, I don't want to hear it without her. Now, if she, you know, we talked yesterday, and if she didn't like that, we would, you know, I would not do that. And, Sienna, if you're listening, I hope you let us keep being best of because I don't have anything. Without you? Yeah, I don't have anything without you, kid.
I miss her a lot. If you're just tuning in, Sienna is no longer on the Mikey Show because the layoffs yesterday in this building affected 15 people. She was one of them. And, you know, it's just really, really sad. People blowing up the phone lines want to talk about it and want to know, you know, just asking questions. M1 Anonymous in San Diego. Good morning, Mikey Show. It's a sad day. It is. It is a sad day. You know, she is such a loving person. It's just kind of giving me chills to think she's not going to be there. So I was wondering if all the M1s could, without getting you guys in trouble, come up with a way of maybe they made a mistake or we can talk to somebody or tell them how much we love her. Yeah, and that is a very nice sentiment. And what I can tell you is that the same thing could happen.
with any of the other 15 people or 14 people that were laid off yesterday, and it won't change it. They won't reverse course. They needed to do it in the first place, and it wasn't because they didn't think that she was valuable. It was a tough thing to do, you know, and it sucked. And so, yeah, it would probably irritate them. It wouldn't do it, you know. And it's like, If he could, and by he, I mean our boss, if he could, he'd have kept her. That's the deal. So it's not like he would hear overwhelmingly from people and be like, oh, you know, I better do something about that. You know, he made the decision because he had to. I understand that. And also, I didn't want to, you know, forget the rest of the unfortunate let go. But that's just it's just sad to hear this this morning.
I wish you guys the best. I know you guys will keep going on and love the show. Thank you, man. Thank you. Thank you. M1 Mean Gene from Georgia. What's up, guys? How y'all doing? Been better, but hanging in there. Yeah, you're telling me I'm over here blasting my second cigarette in a row now. I'm waiting on this phone call. This is really hard for me to say because I don't do it a lot. First off, I just want to apologize to Sienna. I posted on Facebook yesterday, and I saw how serious it got, and I kind of tried to make light of it because I didn't really know what was happening with everybody else. And had I known the severity of it, I wouldn't have done that. So I felt like first I needed to say that. Thanks, man. That's cool. But one thing that I wanted to call about, because I've heard you say this, and I saw it. you know, several times on the post thread yesterday of this comparison between you and Stern. And I just, you know, I just want to say, dude, that that's just, in my opinion, that's just not true. Your relationship, your show's relationship with your audience, to me, is the complete opposite, man. The guy, he exploits his audience and you connect with us. I don't think Tyler Stern would ever post on my Facebook, hey, where you been, pal, when I haven't called in for a month. Woods did that.
They didn't have to, you know, and I can't, I just can't, I can't accept that. You guys are better than that. Much better. Well, thank you, bro. You know, and if it weren't true, I wouldn't be, I wouldn't, I've never met Sienna and I'm upset right now. Yeah. You know, I'm upset because I know you guys are hurt and that sucks. I hate that you guys are hurt because I can feel it. And I just want to say, man, you know, I'm not worried about her. I'm the one that's hurt because I've lost something because I'm not going to be able to. continue to experience her life, but she's going to be fine, man. She's going to be, she's an amazing person. Yeah. Just like the rest of you guys are. And, you know, I'll be praying for you guys and just want to say that I love you guys. All right. Love you, man. Thank you, bro. Appreciate it. Yeah, it sucks. I was telling Sienna over text, like I, I know she's going to be okay, but it's just so tainted. I mean, I love the station. I love the show and it's just, it's not going to be the same. You know, there's going to be, there was before and there was after. Yeah. And we lost, in addition to Sienna, some really, I almost cursed, some really talented people. And it sucks. And I know it's not an easy decision for anyone, but it just sucks. I feel like every day I'll walk in and it'll just feel a little different. Yeah. Yeah, yesterday was heavy for all of us. I mean, I felt like I'm walking into walls. Yeah. You know? Like, you know what I did? I freaking cleaned my house.
You don't ever clean your house. That's how jacked up I was yesterday. I put on my iPod and I was sweeping and I did the laundry. I folded clothes, which I haven't done in a year. Woods, that breaks my heart. Seriously, that's how jacked up I am. So weird. I said to Woods, I'm like, man, picked the wrong year to give up drinking. I said, I wish I smoked. Just start blasting cigs. Let's see. M1 Green Bear is calling in from Oxnard. What's going on, bro? especially since it's your first year in radio. But just know we're 100% behind you, Mike. I love you guys. But it's, God, just bring her back. You know, just bring her back. Yeah, dude. Yeah, just do it. I wish, hey, man, snap our fingers. I wish we could. She'd be sitting right here. Trust me. I don't want to bring Hannah back. I don't understand, like, why would you do that? Thank you, man. We appreciate it. Thanks. M1, Eric from San Marcos.
It's so hard to say goodbye. He's doing Sienna. My girl, Sienna. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Mom. Mom. Yeah. I just want to say that I love Sienna. She's the best. And anyone who has anything bad to say about her, they can just gluttony feast themselves. Thank you. That's a tribute. Mike, did you see, before you take the next call, did you see what one M1 posted on Facebook? It made me laugh, cry. What? It said, Santa dear, it's your grandmother. I shall buy you a new radio station for which you can read the news. Waverly, for you, an old tin can. And I died laughing. Died laughing. Well, I was so emotional. And I said to everybody on the show, I was like, hey, everybody, stay off Facebook, all right? And like 20 seconds later, I go on Facebook and I'm like, I'm hurt and sad and fearful. Yeah. And they're like, huh? Didn't you say stay off of there? I thought you said it. Stay off of there. And then later, you know, and it causes this just poop storm, you know? Yeah. And somebody. Genius.
Somebody wrote on there in regard to me, and this will stand forever. I told Woods, I go, I can use this forever. The person wrote, Bush handled Katrina better than this. It made me laugh violently. Touche, my friend. Yeah. It was brilliant. 570-1949. M1 Ninja from Claremont. Hey, guys. Hi. Hey, I just wanted to call and say, you know, I've only been with your family for about a year. But I think the reason why people have such varied and odd reactions to things like this is because you're like family. You know, like this week I've had a terrible week. I called in. My family is you guys, my real family, my friends and my dog. My dog has been missing. I know. And I have been a wreck.
Hard to get a bed wreck. And so the thing that's been most helpful have been the people that say, you know, it's okay to be sad. It's okay to, you know, to kind of lose your mind for a little bit when you lose someone that you love or something. And some people get it. And some people say, well, you know, that's life. And people get laid off and dogs run away. But just let yourself be sad for a little while. Yep. I agree with that 100%. I'm so sorry about your dog, too. Gosh darn, it killed me. Yeah, he's my life. Yeah, I know the feeling. Like just, you know, you got to put on a happy face and just let yourself feel whatever is natural for you and don't let other people tell you how to react to things like this, you know? Hey, thank you. I appreciate it. Yeah, I love you guys. Love you. Love you. Now, about moving forward. In terms of moving forward, that's exactly what we're going to do. Because... We don't have an option. One of our options is not to be a sad show. That's not an option. That's not what we're hired to do. So although we are sad, that's not an option for us moving forward. We have to continue to entertain in the same way that we have. We have to do it without Sienna, which sucks.
Yes. And it's disappointing. But we have to move forward and do our best. And, you know, we have to move forward and do our best because we have a responsibility here and we have a responsibility to our families and we got a responsibility to you. You know, you're driving to work and we want to make you laugh. That's our job to make you laugh while you drive to work. And so that's what we want to do. And our hope is that you spread the word, let people know, and just continue to listen. 570-1949 is our number. And love to hear from you. M1 Nubian Prince is on the line. Good morning, Mikey Show. I'm so sorry, guys. Yeah, man, it's a bummer. Hey, but moving forward. So my suggestion is like a two-year backstage pass for Sienna. So she can come in in the morning at like 5 or whatever. What a great idea. And then sit on the couch and, you know, take care of business on the side. It's a backstage pass, bro. So she's like a volunteer, dog. That's great. You know, I mean, you guys have done things, you know, in the air. Like, I mean, you've done K-Wave, dog. You know what I mean? Yeah.
Yeah, I just, I wonder if after like a year, you know, Sienna's like, hey guys, you know, this is fun. Yeah, I mean, this is a really good time and everything. Don't get me wrong, it's fun. It's great, but... I mean, you know, you guys have an option, brother, you know, so, you know, give her a backstage pass, man, and let her come on in and, you know, sit there with Woods in the morning and let them shoot the mess together and, you know, reconnect with... All the M1s, seriously, we all love her, dude. Love it, man. She's got carte blanche, but waking up that time. It's so funny, too, because I talked to her the other day, and I was a wreck when I talked to her, and she was the strong one. And I talked to her husband, and he said, man, she's so strong. She's so freaking strong. She is. And she goes, I was talking to her the other one, and she goes, Woods, I don't even think anybody's going to care. And I'm like, are you out of your mind? I go, are you out of your mind? I go, Sienna, you are so loved and revered by us. You just don't meet people like Sienna every day. You just don't. You just don't, man. You know, the other thing, too, when I went in there to sit with you guys, she seriously was like an air traffic controller. Yeah, she is. Oh, yeah. That was so cool.
She goes, what if nobody calls Woods? I go, come on. Come on. Hey, Sienna, if you're listening, Sissy, we love you, mama. We love you. She was so sweet. She texted me this morning. Wow. And she said, you'll do great this morning. Miss you guys already. Dang it. That sticks. Yeah, she told me she's immediately. She's like, I'm going to try to listen to you guys in the morning. I'm like. This girl's got brass balls. I know. She does. I couldn't do it. I couldn't either. Nope. Changing my preset for a little while. I talked to her yesterday. I was just trying to get a handle on how everything went down. And she said, yeah. And Mikey was a mess. It was Rick and her. They were in Rick's office. They were in here. Oh, in here. And then she said, yeah. And then when I stood up to leave, she goes, I gave Rick a big hug. And the guy who just let her go. Yeah. Gave him a big hug. And out the door she goes. My parents met Sienna just once.
And they still talk about it. They're like, she was just so warm. She's one of the most genuine people I've ever met. Big smile. My dad doesn't talk about people a lot. And he always is like, how's Sienna doing? I want to meet that baby. Yep. Yep. Well, you know, I don't want to rule out that maybe one day she'll be back. You know, they didn't now because they clearly had to make cuts, you know, but hopefully at some point. Economy turns around. Things change. I just hope Waverly's doing okay. You know what I mean? I bet Sienna gets scooped up. I mean, unless she makes the decision to stay home with that little... Maybe we don't say that, though. Beautiful baby. Maybe we don't... Maybe zip your lips, right? Yeah, maybe we just don't put that out there. I just think, you know, we need to be there for her family. Her entire family. You know? Too soon. I want to squeeze him. Hey, Waverly, I know you're going through a hard time. I was going to say, like... I figured I'd just tee you up. Waverly is Sienna's...
Beautiful. Young sister and, you know, she's not yet of age, but very close to it. Stop Woods. Countdown. Woods. Not Stop Woods. It's a bit. Woods. It's a bit you brought up. Why does it have a countdown on your laptop? Yeah. One year. Happily married man to a beautiful woman named Jamie. Wait a minute, I'm so sorry. Do you want to cry? I can cry. You're not going to see the new Twilight. I'll be over the house now because I need to see Sienna. Like at noon if you're there. If you're not, it doesn't matter. Your parents' house? Oh, wait. Do you live somewhere? Oh, yeah, your parents. Do you have a window in your bedroom? Is it vertical or horizontal? I can climb. Kenny. I was on Wipeout. Wipeout next week. Just a little levity to the situation. Just let me tee you up real good. You know I was on network TV. Do you know I'm a star? Hollywood. Do you know July 28th I'm going to be on ABC's Wipeout? Do you know they call me Hollywood? Hollywood. Hollywood. Have you heard that? I hate it. Diana Telly, she made it up, but it's kind of like how cool I am. Hollywood. She didn't make it up for no reason. I don't know where it comes from. Not everybody loves me. Most, but not everybody, but most people. That's all I do.
I don't know how my voice turned into EBW. We are going to all get together. Wipeout Viewing Party, Dave and Buster's July 28th, 7 to 9. To watch Jay and Woods on Wipeout. It's going to be a tough morning because I'm somewhere in that area of like, well, where do we go? Where do we go? Where do we go? Where do we go? You know, we could take calls on it. I don't want it to be morose. But at the same time, you know, got to let people know what's going on and everything. All right. Here are some of the things that are happening in the world. Dave Grohl got really mad at a Foo Fighters show because he's playing and he looks out into the audience and there's a couple of dudes fighting. Hey, mother. Stop, stop. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. You don't fight at my show. Who's that right there? Let me see him. Who's fighting right now? Who's fighting? Let me see him.
There's that guy in the striped shirt right there. Hey, mother, look at you. Hey, look at me. Hey, in the striped shirt. Look at me right here, mother. Look at me. To my show right now. Wow. You don't want to see people fighting out there, man. It's pretty awesome. It's a show. You're not supposed to act like that. You're supposed to have a good time. So I got something for you to trip you out. Casey Anthony had this attorney, this woman attorney that had real weird hair. Remember her? I don't know if you remember her, but anyway, somebody asked her, would you let Casey Anthony, since you defended her, would you let her babysit your kids? Oh, wow. Wait till you hear her stammer. Also, the old man that does acting coming up. Really? That's right.
Mikey show coming up in minutes. If you quit, it's going to follow you for the rest of your life. So be a part of the Mikey show. Now. Shoot him a text. And call 570-1949. Hey guys, this is L.O.B. And I just wanted to share a little story with you. I had a friend the other day telling me that she chopped off all of her hair. And she was really bummed. And I just had to brag to her how much ovation works. It's helped me grow my hair so long. Ridiculously long, in fact. There's three products that I use. gets a four-pack of tickets to SeaWorld, I will weave it into a sentence. So you got to listen carefully. It could even come during commercials. So you got to be listening careful for it. It could happen at any time. So people may be wondering, so in terms of the actual day-to-day process, what's going to happen now that Sienna's gone? I'm going to be doing the news. And delivering the news stories, Wood's going to be doing the sports. I told him, rest easy. The kid will not be doing the news. Okay? Just chill out. I'm not doing it. The heavens parted. Yeah, don't worry about it. Our boy Mike's got the reins. Yeah, I got the reins. So I'll be giving you the big stories. Are you ready to do that? What's that? Are you ready to do sports? If we did like news and sports right now, are you ready to do that? Yeah, we can do some sports. So apparently Ted Danson is going to be joining the cast of CSI. And that's a big deal because Ted Danson really hasn't done anything. Except be Ted Danson in his private life. And have exceptionally white hair. Yes. Plugs. But aside from that, he hasn't been doing a lot. But he is now. He's going to be.
Apparently he's going to be joining CSI. And it's because Lawrence Fishburne has left. That's also a breaking news story to me, is that I was unaware that Lawrence Fishburne had been on the show, but apparently Ted Danson is going to replace him. And apparently he's going to be a new supervisor on the show for the Graveshift. And he's heading to the crime lab in Portland. So there you go. If you're a big, you know, if you were on Ted Danson dot net this morning, you may already know. I might have been down because I might have been flooded with so many people. Exactly. That's true. Crashed. And then another thing that is pretty big deal is that Netflix prices have gone up and that's really gotten a lot of people upset. Are you a Netflix? Personnel OB? Yep, dropping out. Oh, wow. It went from $9.99 a month for one service to two separate services of $7.99 a month. Holy cow. So it went up $6. Yeah, they said 60%. Yeah, get. 60%. Why would anybody do that? Because they think they have the market cornered. I'll tell you what, man. The day is coming where you're going to be watching movies that are coming out in theaters at your house.
I can't wait for that. Me too. I'll pay whatever for that. Of course. Of course. Woods, what's going on in sports? This is a huge story, man. Well, first of all, sports is brought to us by our friends at Frank's Red Hot. Frank's Red Hot. That's him! So you guys know who James Harrison is. Plays for the Steelers. Was the most fined player in the NFL last year. He has a new article coming out in Men's Journal where he is ranting against Roger Goodell, the commissioner of the NFL. Calls him a crook and a devil. Said if... If that man was on fire and I had to urinate on him to put him out, I wouldn't do it. I hate him and I will never respect him. Wow. Called him an anti-gay slur, stupid puppet and dictator, and then proceeded to rip his teammates Ben Roethlisberger and Rashard Mendenhall for their performance in the Super Bowl. Wow. What's the thinking there? Or is there just no thinking there? I think it's no filter from brain to mouth. I mean, I can't imagine that's going to do anything for you in the locker room. Well, you would think also that that would be worthy of the commissioner kicking you out of the league or something. Yeah, I mean, he was fined over $100,000 last year for illegal hits.
Dude, I mean, it is going to be salacious, so I'll definitely check that out. And this is a really cool story. This weekend, the Padres' wives are holding what they're calling a mystery fundraiser. And what it is is when you go to the game on Friday and Saturday, you can buy a bag for $40. Inside the bag is an autographed baseball. Now, great, you don't know who it's from, but they have... Players like Tony Gwynn, Albert Pujols, Trevor Hoffman, Ichiro, Prince Fielder, Chipper Jones, among other players. So you could pull that open, get a Tony Gwynn signed ball right there. Now you could get Will Venable, which is fine, but you could also get freaking Albert Pujols. So $40, get you the bag, and you see what you win. It's a really cool story. So if you're going to the game this weekend, make sure to check that out Friday and Saturday. So old man that does acting coming up in a little bit. in just a couple of minutes. And if you've never heard of Old Man That Does Acting, Jay sometimes has a tough time with enunciation. Whatever you think you know about this man is a reveler. And so what we have found is a good time is to bring Jay into the studio and cold read. I didn't hear what Jay said. Whatever you think you know about this man is a reveler. Oh. Now, the brilliance of this is that it's like an audition.
Okay? And so we give him his lines. He sees them for the first time when we hand them to him. Doesn't know the scene, the movie, nothing. And he's just got to read for the role. And we'll be doing that in just a moment. He dropped a new one on me yesterday at Mike's house when we were having a little meeting. He said, well, I think it's the end of their physical year. So that was the greatest. Physical. It was dynamite. Physical. It was so great. It's probably one of the reasons that you see so many firings going on is because it's the end of the physical year. Correct. I know what it is. I said it, didn't I? I said physical. I get a fiscal every year for my life. You don't think I know what it is? They told me, whatever you're doing, keep doing it. Keep doing it. You're perfect. That's true. That's true. He also mentioned... doing, for Sienna, doing some sort of a... Homage. Homage. He said something like homage. No, I didn't. Homage. Yeah, you're wrong. Yeah, you did. Homage. I said homage, not homage. Yeah, he did. He said homage. I said homage. And we go, or we could do an homage. We could do an homage. I guess it's, you know, either way, we could do homage, whatever. I got an idea.
We need to do a homage for Sienna. You know like the homage people that live in Pennsylvania and make their own butter? I think her husband might know some homage people. He's from Pennsylvania. He probably knows homage. They grow carrots, beets, radishes, rutabagas. I walked up to Jay and I just patted him on the back and I said, dude, you're a wealth of gold. That's what you are. He absolutely is. So anyway. This is this is Dorothy Sims. She was one of the female attorneys for Casey Anthony being asked, would you let Casey Anthony babysit? I mean, you think she's innocent. She's admitted as much that she thinks Casey Anthony is innocent. So would you let her babysit your kids? Now, when I saw that, that's what the clip was instantly in my mind. I knew that she would go, of course. I mean, that's what you do if you're defensive, you believe, blah, blah, blah. But listen to the stammering. Let me ask you something. Do you have children? Yes. Would you let Casey babysit your kids? You say she's innocent. Well, you know, my kids are older. Well, let's say they were younger. Would you leave her with your children? I liked Casey Anthony. I came to trust her. And that's a really...
I felt very comfortable with her. I felt that the person that I became close to during that trial, I felt comfortable with her. Well, I guess if you believe she's completely innocent, then you would. Well, again, my children are grown. How about your grandchildren? I think Casey Anthony has been so unfairly represented in the press. The person that I know, I felt very comfortable with. Not with my grandchildren. Right. You haven't answered the question. She didn't answer the question. Not with my children, not with my... My children are grown. No, I wouldn't. Your children, yes. I wouldn't. No, I'm saying even my grown children, I would not let her babysit my grown 45-year-old son. There's no way. I would rather let Michael Jackson babysit my children. Now, many people are asking themselves, who is Michael Jackson? Michael Jackson. First of all, whoever...
Whoever Mackle Jackson is, is clearly ripping off Michael Jackson, which is inappropriate. It's inappropriate. Is he also known to be a bad opponent? Beat it. This is Mackle Jackson. Hey, this sounds familiar. Of course it does. It's Mackle. Hi, Mack. Hi. How are you? I'm good. It's not that often that people mention me, so when they do, I pick up the phone. phone i'm like oh my gosh somebody actually recognized we were paying homage to you you know and all that you do for michael jackson that's so nice of you okay i love you thank you don't call it no i am not i was talking about what are you talking about about woods very clean audio michael
That is Mackle Jackson. Okay. So, I think it is time. Jay's the old man who does acting. We need this, Jay. He's the old man with the poetry. He's so good, he's on the money. Is that big enough font for you, pal? He blinded me with acting. But he failed to pronounce clearly. So, uh... Like I said, occasionally Jake will mispronounce words, you know, like he just said Mackle Jackson. And that's why we think it's fun sometimes to go through a scene with him and have him do a cold read. Today it's good, fellas. And I will be playing the part of Henry Hill. And it will be...
Jay's job to reprise the role that Joe Pesci made so popular. Tommy. Okay. Are you ready, Jay? Ready. Yes. Am I ready? No. Do I have to be ready? Yes. Here we go. You're a pistol, Tommy. You're funny, man. You're so funny. What do you mean funny? I'm funny? It's funny, you know? It's a good story. It's funny, you know? You're like a funny guy. What do you mean? You mean the way that I talk? What? It's just, you know, it's like, you're just funny. It's funny, like the way you tell a story and everything. It's funny. Funny how? What's funny about it? Tommy, no, you got it all wrong. Oh, no, Anthony. He's a big boy. He knows what he said. What did he say? Funny how? It's just, you know, it's just funny, like the way you're funny, you know? What? Just, you know, how you, you know, funny, funny like funny like you're funny.
You mean like, let me understand with this, because, you know, maybe it's me. I'm a little jacked up, maybe. But I'm funny how? I'm funny like a clown? I amuse you? I make you laugh? I'm like, I freaking amuse you? What do you mean funny? Funny how? How am I funny? It's just you know how you tell a story. No, no, I don't know. You said it. How do I know? You said I'm funny. How the heck am I funny? What the heck is funny about me? Tell me. Tell me, what's funny? Hey, Henry. Get the hell out of here, Tommy. USOB, I almost had him. I almost had him, you stuttering clown. Frankie, he was shaking. I wonder, well, sometimes. Henry, you may follow the questioning. Acting. The old man with the poetry. Oh, that made me happy. That's so good. He's on the money. That made me happy. Oh, Jay. An actor with a bill. So good. You make me happy. You make me happy.
He blinded me with acting. Oh, it's so good. But he failed to pronounce clearly. Oh. He reads those lines like a run-on sentence. It's the best. I love it. It just, it. 570-1949. Let's play buzzword. Oh, yeah. All right, now. That'll help. It will help, and I want everyone listening to know that Lauren always wins. No, not true. Buzzword. Who won last week? Lauren did. Yeah, of course. Now, she guarantees a victory today. Correct. She says, I cannot lose today. Yeah, she told me that this morning. I never actually have ever said those words. She said it this morning. So you're going to call and you're going to pick myself, Woods, or L-O-B to represent you in Buzzword. All right? Now, you call us, you do this, and Jay, here's how Buzzword works. Jay's going to give us the word, then he's going to give us a hint.
and we have to, from that hint, gather the word. The word is in the hint, okay? What's the word? Jay! Get your stuff together, Jay! All right, let's take callers and find out who everybody wants. Let's see. Who is this? M1 Lisa from Lakeside. And who would you like, Lisa? Woods. Okay, hang on. Mikey Show, who's this? This is M1 LA Kingside. This is M1 who? L.A. Kings fan. Okay. L.A. Kings fan, you get, who do you want? Who do you actually want? L.O.B. Yeah. You got it. You got it. M1 Kiko, are you there? Yep. You've got me. Okay. Okay, hang on the line. What's the word, dude? What? Come on. The word. What you doing in there? I'm doing Chris's job at the same time, so I'm answering phones as well.
What's the word? What's the word? Stop stalling! Okay, here we go. Here we go. Say it! The word is Chuck. Chuck. Chuck. Chuck. Chuck. How much wood? Wood. I'm going to give you all three a point. Oh, for the love of... Sienna, can you... We all knew it. Oh, gosh. Too soon, dude. Soon! Who's keeping score? Lauren. That is not funny. That's not funny. Of course, Jay. That will never be funny. Of course, Jay. That will never be funny. And now we're going to get on the website. Jay is so funny. He's so funny. I love him. I love how he made a lot of a situation. He was actually able to bring me laughs. Miss her. Walker, Texas Ranger. Chuck Norris. Chuck Norris. Darn it. Woods. I'll give you that. God. Chuck Rican. Chica. Chimichurri. Chimichurri.
Hamburger meat. Chunk meat. This is so hard. Dang it. What did you say, Mikey? Chunk chunk. Everybody chunk chunk. Here we go. The lunch mobile. Chunk truck. Chunk truck. Chunk truck. Mark it. You never know that. Use this to tighten the drill bit. Chuck wrench. Chuck tool. I don't know any chucks. Use this to tighten the drill bit. Lucky Chuck. Chuck point. Chuck point. Good luck, Chuck. Chucker. Shush. Chuck saw. A chuck thing. It's a chuck key. Chuck key. Idiots. Stupid dummies. You ever been to Home Depot? Bunch of fatzos. Ever run a drill? Vomit. Woods. Darn it, Woods. You're such a chucker. How about another word or something? Almost. Chuck you. Throw it away. Chuck it out. Chuck it out. Chuck it out. Mikey got it first. I said chuck it. You said it a hundred times, but he said it first and correctly. I could have said it in 40 BC and Woods would have gone, did he? Just because he said it four times. We need buzzers. Yeah.
Scary character in Child's... Oh, Chucky! L-O-B. Back in the game. Wait for Mikey to pay attention. I'm paying attention. Host of the gong show. Chuck Woolery! Chuck Woolery! Chuck Woolery! No, no. Chuck Samson! Chuck Ladd! Chuck Taylor! House of Chuckles. Three, two, one. Chuck Beerus. Chuck Beerus. Oh, give it to him. He's on the buzzer. That was good. That was good. Oh, gosh. I just had a heart attack. Score, score. Mikey three, Woods five, me two. Let's see here. New word. What's the word? What? What's the word? The word is cotton. Okay. C-O-T-T-O-N. Didn't we do cotton already? No. Probably. Probably. Don't put this in your ear canal. Cotton balls. Cotton swabs. There you go. Wow. Cotton balls. Cotton squabs. Swabs. Or swabs. Either way. Either way. A puff to remove nail polish. Cotton ball! There we go. L-O-B. That's when nobody yells out but one. The worst. A Dallas New Year's Day tradition. Cotton ball! Cotton ball! Cotton ball! I think Mikey got it first. I think we said it at the same time, actually. I'll give you both a point. All right. The score is Mike, four. Woods, six. L-O-B, four. Woods, you think that was fair, right?
You said it at the same time. Okay. Here we go. We'll do a couple more. A fluffy treat of sponge candy. Darn it. Mikey. Ooh, that's getting close. Let's see that honesty. Hey, you think that was right, right? That's why I nodded to you. Because you beat me. Famous bunny. Cotton gin. Cotton bunny. Cotton. Peter Cuttail. Who said Peter Cuttail for here? I did. I did. I did. You said everything but. She said everything but. Woods did. Woods did. You were like, cotton ball. Peter cotton ball. Peter cotton face. Cotton bunny. So what's that, seven? Seven. Peter touching cotton. All right. Let's see. Last one. What's the word? Cotton? Cotton. Cotton. And this is a three-pointer. Cotton alive. A sip of water relieves it. Cottonmouth! Weird, you know that. Woods is the cotton-picking winner. Cotton-picking. Dang it! We're going to give them $40 of gameplay to Dave & Buster's. They should bring that out to our Wipeout PU party. Absolutely. M1 Lisa, Wood brought it home for you. Way to go, Wood. Yeah, Woody. Hang on the line. Hang on the line. Couple of things.
One is we're going to play that's a true statement, which is very controversial because I reach into a cup and I pull out something that we've all written down. All of us had to write down three things that we think are outrageous, but we also believe are true and can back it up by saying that's a true statement. Then we'll all hash it out. Also, you know how that dude asked Mila Kunich? Mila Kunis. Mila Kunis. Macho Jackson. Macho. Okay. Now a chick got that idea in the Marines. A girl got that idea, and she made a YouTube video, and we'll play it for you and see if this dude responds. With everything in this country tied up in the court systems, I think we need a little more of this. The Mikey Show now. Shoot him a text. 949mikey at gmail.com. Call 570-1949. I'm Stacey Cohen, FM 94.9. and a touch of northwest wind swirl is all but gone. Combine that with a negative low tide at pre-dawn hours, and we're looking at a pretty small surf to start the day off with. Running in that ankle-knee waist-high zone on average, still some chest to occasional shoulder highways, but only the areas most open to that fading gets still dominant southwest pretty small direction, and expect some kind of a size and shape improvement throughout the morning as the tide fills back in. And it's happening in slow motion. But the rest of the images on the screen are going in regular motion. I like it. I mean, ouch. Got us. It hurt. It would have to be a mythical camel. Yeah. To be able to hold the two of you up. Right. Mac, it'd have to be a prehistoric camel. Right. T-Rex. By camel, did you mean brontosaurus? Why don't you just say brontosaurus if that's what you meant? But that ain't big enough.
What could be? How about a crane? Can y'all ride on a crane, like a steel crane? Maybe they could dress a warship to look like a camel. Because that would support you. Maybe. That would maybe support your weight. M1Gen from National City, are you there? Yes, I'm here. What was the word of the day? Camel. That is correct. Four-pack of tickets to SeaWorld, and Jay heard that your name was Jen. It's all it took for him to go, mm. Just that little giggle. How old are you, Jen? I'm 27. Oh, that again. Winning. Nobody says that anymore. Winning. 14 years from now, Jay will still be going, oh, winning. Winning. Hello. Jealous. What up? Love you violently. You're 27. I'm blushing right now. I bet you got hips. Wow. I bet you have milk holding breasts. Milk holding breasts. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Okay. Hang on the line. You're going to SeaWorld. We love you, Jen. We love you, Jen. Love you too. We love you.
She's like, I love you too. Get out of here. Stop. You're raping me right now. Yes. I have to clean my ears. All right. So this is Sergeant Scott. Or excuse me. Sergeant Scott Moore asked Mila Kunis to a dance on a YouTube video that went viral. And she said yes. As a result, Corporal Kelsey DeSantis has done the same thing with Justin Timberlake. So, Justin. You want to call out my girl Mila? Well, I'm going to call you out and ask you to come to the Marine Corps Ball with me on November 12th in Washington, D.C. And if you can't go, all I have to say is cry me a river. Hit me up. Why do you have to be so confrontative? Yeah. She's a Marine, dude. Yeah, I know. But, I mean, you can't be at least a little bit sweet in it, Kelsey. She's tough, dude. Hey. Hey, Justin. I heard you called out my girl Mila.
Well, F you, first of all. And second of all, I bet you don't even have the rocks to ask me out. And if you did, are you even man enough and have enough testosterone to take me out? Yo, girl, I'd take you out, but you're too fat, so I can't. You are a jerk, Justin. That's right. Why did you have to say that? I'm not fat, first of all. I ain't even seen your picture. You just sound fat. Well, so now it's an insult. Yes. You want to get in an insult fight? Yeah, sure. What you going to do? What you going to do? I can play sound clips of Charlie Sheen. Why would that be relevant now? Maybe six months ago. Jay thought it was relevant. That ain't going to do nothing to me. I'm JT. Really, dude? Really? Y'all going to have seen about it? Y'all going to have seen about it? I'm sorry if I offended you. I didn't know you were so sensitive. Shut up. Shut up. Stop. Move forward. The board doesn't lie. Never has.
Got you! Beat him in a sheen off. Dang it. We sheened off. It's been too long. ESPYs were last night. 2011 ESPYs. I guess now the bit, if you do any kind of award show, you have to. It's like a roast. Used to be award shows were just normal. Now you got to kind of roast no matter what. But it was funny. Seth Meyers did it. By the way, I should point out the proceeds from tonight's show. go to a very worthy charity, the Los Angeles Dodgers of America. Dodger outfielder Matt Kemp is here tonight. Yeah. Frank McCord told Matt Kemp, have fun tonight, and then added, if they have any ketchup packets, grab as many as you can. Because we have run out of ketchup. Dodger Stadium no longer has ketchup. The Dodgers are so broke when players steal bases, Frank McCord asks that they please return them. The Dodgers are so broke, their third base coach is just a mirror reflecting the image of their first base coach. That's good. The Dodgers are so broke, three of their players tested positive for ramen noodles. That's funny. That's dynamite.
Seth Meyers about sexting. But steroids abuse is just one of the latest examples of poor choices by members of the athletic community. The one I'm more concerned about is sexting. So I want to give some advice to the married male athletes that are sending out pictures of their genitals. Guys, don't send a picture of the part of your body your wife is most likely to recognize as being yours. Here's what you need to do. Take a picture of your business. Trade it with one of your teammates for a picture of his business. Now that's the picture you send out to ladies. Then, if you get caught, you can tell your wife, look, it's not mine. And if she says, oh yeah, that's not yours, that's Kevin's, you know she's having an affair. Dallas Mavericks won best team. Justin Bieber presented an award with Danica Patrick. I want to hear that. Yes. No. Yes. I don't really know what to do with my hands. Just, just... Danica's got a deep voice. That actually wasn't Danica. It wasn't Danica. Justin Bieber. That was Justin Bieber. Maybe we isolate that. I don't really know what to do with my hands. Just put them down by your side, Ricky Bobby. Ricky Bobby? Yeah, from Talladega Nights. I'm really thrilled to be here tonight because I'm really into fast cars and fast... Justin. Fast women? Is that really what you think of me? Nerd.
I was going to say fast food. Yeah, fast food. I'm sorry. Why don't you leave the bits to people that can do bits? Yeah, maybe Seth Meyers does the bits. Who got that one wrong? One of them did. Are you guys ready to play that's a true statement? Boy. This always is controversial because what I have here is a cup. And the cup says that's a true statement on it. And inside, we have all written various things that we believe are bold and true statement. And we'll stand behind it. When I pull it and read it, I'll ask who wrote that. And then we'll discuss it. And you can call us at 570-1949 or text us 949mikey at gmail.com. I'm reaching in. I'm pulling one out. Oh, boy. And it says, all women use sex to get what they want. Now, I want to be clear that this says all women, which excludes no.
Women. The phrase, all women use sex to get what they want, means that there are not women that don't. I believe that Jay Esbel wrote this, but I could be wrong. You're 100% correct. I am correct. Our producer wrote this. Now, Jay, how is it possible that all women use sex to get what they want if there's virgins? Well, the allure of sex. Oh, the allure of sex. Promise. They have everything. So you're saying all the cards. You're saying every woman uses her sex, either sex or sex appeal to get what they want. Absolutely. How? Ella B, you're a woman. Yeah. Can you refute that? Have I ever used it? No, that's not what I asked. I said, can you refute that? Can you refute the following phrase? All women. Use sex or their sex appeal to get what they want. My answer is in the form of a question to you. Of course it is. Have I ever used... That's not what I'm asking. Okay, well then... You, maybe you have. Maybe you haven't. Then the answer is no, because I'm a woman and I don't use it. She doesn't... Well... Give me an example. L-O-B. L-O-B. L-O-B. Never. Never.
I've used it first. Of course you have. But not all the time. Of course you have. Not all the time. I'm not saying that every moment of every day. I'm not doing it right now. I've used it before, but you have too. I can refute it. I can refute it. I can refute it. You have. What about ugly women? Still. Still. Ugly women can still have sexual intercourse. I know they can, but can they use it? Hell yeah. Wait, wait, wait. You're telling me that ugly women can use their sex appeal and sex to get what they want? What if nobody wants to have sex with them or finds them sexually appealing? Somebody always wants to have sex. Any woman can have sexual intercourse at any time. Any time. That's not true. That's a true statement. True statement. All right. I'm not picking on Roseanne Barr. I'm not. picking on Roseanne Barr. I'm simply using Roseanne Barr as an icon for this demonstration. Okay. Are you saying that at any time? Yes. She's got a boyfriend of seven years. She walks into a truck stop and goes, hey, I feel like getting slayed. Who's in? Somebody's going to be like, alright. It's a dumb deal. I think Jay might be right. Is it right that all
And, hey, listen, I'm open to anyone. You can call. You can disagree. Refute it. It's just one of the many things in the arsenal, though. That's fine. That's not what we're arguing, though. But I know that that's not going to work every time. You guys have used it, too. That's not the argument. That's not the argument. Fine. That's not the statement. This is the bold statement. It's the first two words, L.O.P. Yep. All women. That's... Crazy and bold. But the operative word is use. Fine. What does that mean? What are you saying? We don't use it. I have used it before. So you use it. I don't say it. I've said it. I don't do it. I've done it. I've done it. That's not who I am. I've been it. That's all we're saying. All we're saying is that at one time in a woman's life. And when I first read it, I went, no way. Every woman. I thought to myself, no way. Every woman. Not every woman. What about women? Okay, I got another objection. What about women in Middle Eastern countries that can't? Aha. Aha! They've got burkas on. The eyes are so telling, though. They're like, hmm. Come hither eyes. Come hither, yeah.
Bedroom eyes. They can get killed for come hithering. Oh, please. I can. But what if all you see is their eyes and they go? Yeah, eyebrows moving. Yeah, I'm sure they do. Eyebrows. They get over here. He's right. He's right. That's where the phrase tit for tat came from. That made no sense. M1 Fay from San Diego. Hi, guys. How are you this morning? Good morning. Good. Good. Very good. Very excited to be on your show. Thank you. I'm kind of a new listener, and I'm just... drawn by you guys every morning now. That's awesome. Now, here's my question, Faye. Have you ever used your sex or sex appeal to get what you want? Yes. I'm first to come out of my single days, and I'm recently married. And even being recently married, I see a difference in my life. And my point is that, yeah, when you're single, even then, versus being married, either way, you do in ways that you don't acknowledge.
You may be using definitely to get what you want for sex. I think Jason R. Isabel may be right. I mean, Faye's agreeing with it. The prospect of sex is so powerful. It's an allure. A man will do anything. M1 Brian from San Marcos. Are you there? I'm here. How are you doing? Good. Do you have an objection? Catholic nuns have never used sex to get what they want. Here's my objection to your objection. Been Catholic nuns. Bam. Catholic priests, however, have been used their sex appeal. What? Catholic nuns are the mindset of being married to God for their entire life. Otherwise, they wouldn't take that drastic step. Okay, wait a minute, though. Are you telling me that Sister Nancy, she becomes Sister Nancy at the age of 21? And let's say she becomes Sister Nancy at the age of 21, and she's a virgin.
Are you telling me that when she was 14, she didn't use her sex appeal on another 14-year-old that she, you know, was interested in? I think the girls... To get what she wanted? ...are not the kind of girls that are even thinking about sex that early. Maybe that's why they became nuns, pal. Brian. All right. Thank you very much. All right, let's reach in and pull another That's a True Statement. Please don't let it be mine. This one says veterinarian. Veterinarians are a bit. Yep. I guess that was Jay. Yeah, me again. Oops, sorry. You are a moron. No. How? Well, I need explanation. I need to know what you mean. Stupid. What does that mean? Oh, that's just mean. That's just mean. Wait till yours comes out. I wasn't talking about you. I was talking about your statement. It's not. When was the last time you went to one? I don't have a pet. Well, there you go. So you maybe don't know. Okay, Jay, I want an explanation. So last time I went to the veterinarian, they were like, well, you know, your dog, bad shape, bad shape. I'm going to write a number down on a piece of paper and slide it over to you. And this is what it's going to cost to get your dog to where it needs to be healthy. I'm like, what do you mean you're sliding this over? It's a bit. They're just work. They're just. So if I understand you correctly, another way of saying this would be.
Veterinarian is a scam. It's a scam. It's a scam. It's a scam. It's a money-making... I will say this. It's not the first time I've heard of this. They got your emotional... They get your emotions. Now... They're holding you hostage. This is what I need to nail you down to, though, Jay. Are you saying all veterinarians are scammers? Yes. Wow! In one way or another. That means that in one way or another, wait, hang on. In one way or another, every veterinarian at some point, maybe not all the time. Hey, LOP doesn't use the sex appeal thing all the time, but she has. And maybe what Jay is saying is that at one time or another, every veterinarian has gone, listen, Puffy is hanging in there. Now, what we can do is nothing.
We can do nothing. And I give Puffy a 2% chance of making it through the weekend. By the way, it's Friday, and it's 4 o'clock in the afternoon. We close in an hour. Now, I could do a transfusion. It's costly. It's about $550. But it gives him about a 50-50 chance. What would you like to do? Let's do it. Well, even the phrasing on it is, I'm sure that you want to do... everything in your power to make sure that Puffy makes it right. One appointment he went to. Hey, I've heard of it, L.O.B. I've been there a bunch of times. I've had dogs continuously my entire life. I took my dog Lucky Inn when he was having seizures and they saved his life. For free? Feast on that. No, I paid for it. Okay, hold on. Let me finish. Go ahead. Do you go to the doctor? Yes. Do you pay? Yes. It's a business, not a charity. It's a business, not a charity, pal. I understand. They got a charge. I understand, but...
Haggling doesn't happen at the doctor. No, it doesn't happen at the vet either. They tell me what I need to do to save Lucky's life. I do it. Here's the problem, though. Most people are not in a position to have insurance for their pet. They do. Some people do. But I think that that's where they can kind of get you. Whereas if you go to the doctor and they say you've got to have surgery, well, it's usually been covered. You don't think that doctors recommend things based on what they can get out of your insurance? Fair enough. Yeah. But that's not what we're talking about. That's a scam. We're talking... But that... Because something... Okay, you know what else is a scam? Guys writing emails and saying that they're a prince in Saudi Arabia. That's real. We're not talking about that. Mikey, that's real. We're talking about veterinarians. It's opportunistic and business-minded. Ooh. Hey, all I know is they're lifesavers. It may not be human lives, but they're lifesavers. There is no doubt. It's harder to be a vet than a human doctor. Correct. Jay didn't say they don't do a good job. Right. What he said is it's a scam. Well, Jay thinks the grocery store is a scam because you have to spend money for food, which you can grow yourself. So Jay, it may not be the foremost authority. I'm not done with that's a true statement. We simply cannot be. It's the best. We simply cannot be. And by the way.
We are getting people calling about this very topic right now. 570-1949. Somebody has an answer to Jay's statement that may end the conversation one way or the other. Nice. Oh, the Roger Clemens case that is in the Supreme Court about him using steroids seems like a giant waste of money to me, but they're going to investigate, and now they have said that there is DNA on needles that is Roger Clemens. Oh. Yeah, so it's going to get gnarly. Oh, wow. And Roger says he has never injected steroids or HGH in his career. He shouldn't have autographed him either. He shouldn't have twit-picked himself. Putting it in his butt. Oh, wow. I meant the needle. The needle. Gosh darn. Most people knew what you meant. I know that, but then Jay's on the show. Let's see. I'm Mikey. That's Woodsy. That's L-O-B. That's Jay. And our phone screener is Chris. That's Chris. And the name that we are missing is Sienna. Sienna was let go yesterday with a bunch of people. She was laid off with 14 others here at Lincoln Financial.
due to cost cutting stuff and we're very sad um we are very disappointed uh it's the state of the economy um our boss is a good dude and he was he was bummed can i say that if i see one more person blame you that i will give them a knuckle sandwich is that still happening yeah even after i explained yeah can i say that though like where has that just give you the belt Just all kinds of stuff. That's on our fan page? Yeah, it's been there. You know, I've seen it. It makes me mad because I know how hard you work. Sienna told me that she knows how hard you work to keep her. Who said that? I don't remember. What's on there? Like, even this morning, after I made the announcement, I can understand if people thought that it had something to do with me. I didn't lay 15 people off yesterday. Right. Exactly. And that you didn't do everything you could to keep her. cut your salary to keep her and all kinds of stuff. It just, it bumps me out and I'll give you a knuckle sandwich. Yeah, I can't, well, and that's the deal. I could not afford to pay her salary and her benefits. You shouldn't have to. No. You know? Yeah. It doesn't happen. You would have if you could have. Of course. Yeah. And I can't. And the company's deal was the same. Yeah. The company said, we can't either.
That hurts my feelings. Oh, it hurt my feelings, too. It pissed me off. It's coming from a place of hurt, sadness, or fear. Because I'll get you. See, and I don't know. To me, that seems like it's coming from a place of evil. For sure. Evil. If he said that, I think that's evil. That's really crappy. Well, that just brought me down big time. Well, I'm sorry. If Sienna were here, she would say, it's okay, Mike. It's okay, Mike. Woods just does that to spin you out. I wasn't trying to spin you out. I was trying to protect you. No, I know. You're never trying. You're never trying. Sometimes I do. Well. Because I think it's fun sometimes. I didn't know that. Sometimes it's fun. Oh, okay. You know that Mike doesn't like to see the stuff that's on Facebook. Yeah. But he's pretty active on Facebook. Yeah, but if I don't know about it, you know. Really? So now that it's my fault. No, no, no. Hey, Mike, to those people out there that said that Mike is a fat louse. Oh, they didn't say that. You know, he's my friend. I'm going to stick up for my boy. All right. And my girl. And he doesn't eat 12 Big Macs a day. That was stupid to say about Mike. He's nine. He's nine. Just trying to stick up for my boy. Thank you. You're welcome. I didn't know, but now. You would have. Yeah. Fighting the good fight. You would have.
When I came in, he told me about one I didn't know. How about you stop doing that, Woods? Oh, boy. It's all my fault. He goes, hey, you see what that guy wrote? I'm like, what? Just going forward. Let's just. Yeah. I'll just be quiet. Hey, Mikey, it's going to be okay. You're going to be fine. I don't want to know. You're going to be fine. Jerk people. There's too much out there to even keep up with. My head is spinning. That's a true statement. I won't defend you then. I just won't tell you. Yeah, defending me isn't letting me know necessarily. I appreciate the, you know. It comes from a good place. It does. No, no, no. It does. You're a jerk. You said you do it on purpose. Not that stuff. I do stuff like, you know, I might, yeah, I might rub your head, you know. I do that stuff, yeah. 570-1949. I never would try to hurt you on purpose. M1 Stephanie from La Jolla. Are you there? And you are. You work at a vet. I see you guys every morning from my treatment room. And you're saying. Get him. You're saying that undeniably vets will from time to time take liberties or are you saying that is not true? I think it's the same as with any other human being you ever deal with. If they're in it for the money and I have worked for vets who are in it for the money, that's what they're going to do. But the majority of us go into this profession because.
Because we care about the animals. And on the opposite side, it's really hard because, good example, my company is running a free first-time client. So you come in, your first office visit is free. You get these people who come in for their first office visit, and then, okay, your pet needs shots, your pet has fleas, your pet has worms, your pet has really bad ear infection. Oh, but I came for the free office visit. So then you didn't bring any other money to treat the pet after we tell you what's wrong with your pet? So it's a double edged sword. And it's really, really about what do you think, Jay? I'll give you another example. My brother in law had a very sick dog last week. Very sick. He called me and I told him what he should do. And he took her to a vet. Not going to name the vet. Big corporate vet in San Diego. And they pulled out a thing of a thousand dollars. This test, that test, all sorts of stuff, which is diagnostically, that's what we have to do. Our patients can't.
Tell us what their problem is. Our patients are hot-wired to hide their issues because that's the way the chain of life goes. I said, give me your dog. I'll take her to my doctor. Save them $500. Because it's all about where you go and the type of care that they want to give. So you are an honest, good vet out there. I treat every single patient that comes onto my table like they are my pet. That's really cool. Well, maybe I just need to find a good vet then. Maybe I'll retract some. A lot of them are bits. What is your place so that people can know that you're good? Ask them questions. See how willing they are to talk to you. See how willing they are to actually understand your life situation, your history with your pet, your pet's history. Do you want to say, though, what your vet is, what place you are? I work for Banfield. Banfield Vet. I work for Banfield in La Jolla. In La Jolla. At a PetSmart, and I work at many places. Just bringing up stuff to remind us of Sienna? Yeah. Just kidding. Hi, guys. No, I'm just kidding. No, that's cool. I had a call for an hour this morning listening to you guys crying about her before I walked into work this morning. Thank you. So, you know, it's devastating, and I'm just really sad about that. But once she started saying vets or quacks, I was pulling blood from a pet. Stopped pulling blood and called you on my phone. Atta girl.
Thank you. You're doing good work. I appreciate you. I do, too. We love you. Just go look and find a good one. Make sure they talk to you. You know, you don't walk into a doctor's office and the doc looks at you two seconds and then you think, oh, what a good doctor. Thank you, Stephanie. We appreciate the call. Little angel. Well, some of you called and said, what about the zoo? What about vets at the zoo? Yeah, they're good people, aren't they? Well, I mean, they're not scamming anyone. They're not scamming anybody. They're just helping animals. They work at the zoo. They're a vet. I have a problem with zoos as well. Very competitive field. Well, you may have a problem with a zoo, but you can't have a problem with a zoo vet. They're not in there trying to scam a customer because... Well, there are no customers there. That's what I'm saying. So, obviously, veterinary is not a bit because there are vets at the zoo. They're not saying to the zoo, well, we could do this, but it's going to cost you $8 million for me to give a hysterectomy to this hippo. It's their job. They give hysterectomies to hippos. Fair enough. You know what I mean? Well played. M1 Jordan on our website says the following. One thing that really bothers me about the Sienna thing is that Sienna took the biggest risk in joining the Mikey show. The fact is that she had a job over at Clear Channel. Mikey asked her to leave for the new show. And now the company that she worked for has left her high and dry. What is she supposed to do now?
Ask her prior employer for her old job back? I think not. I'm so sad for Sienna and hope her goal in life was to be a stay-at-home mom. That would be the only way I could spin the situation into a positive. We miss you, Sienna. Well, here's the thing, Jordan. She was a part-timer when she was over at Clear Channel. So to become a part of a morning show for her was a dream come true. And it was a dream come true for me, too, because I loved working with her. But to me, when I read that, the suggestion was, you know, Mikey, that's not very cool. You know, you dragged her away from this beautiful cottage. How could you do such a thing? And that's not the deal. What I did was I offered her an opportunity and did everything in my power to keep her here.
And I mean everything in my other than paying her salary and her benefits. I did everything that I could do to keep Sienna here, including and not limited to bawling my eyes out. Groveling. Groveling. Yes. Good. I heard some screaming. Trying to come up with everything that I could do. I wondered. There were times where I wondered. I wonder if my voice is loud. Because I wasn't yelling. I certainly wasn't yelling. But I was talking very loud. There were times where I was talking very loud. And there were times where I really vented some frustration. Yeah, that's what Sienna said. There were times where I definitely vented some frustration. And, you know, thought that it wasn't, you know, a good idea. But the bottom line is, is that it's, you know.
I think that even our boss would admit, well, it's not about that. You know, of course not. No, it's radio. Radio is, you know, and when I first started radio, I was at four different stations in seven years. It was insane. I mean, a year and a half sometimes is a good run. Yeah. I mean, I was for a long time. I was only I was at a place for three years that I'd moved to a new station. It was just the way it went. You know, just things change. Yeah. And that's the kind of stuff I'm talking about. It's not your fault. No. That's what I mean. It's not your fault. It's good on her. I mean, that kind of stuff drives me nuts. People that don't know what went down. It's fantastic on her resume. I mean, she was a part of a morning show and she was the news girl. I mean, that's huge. This will only, if Sienna wants to continue with radio, which I hope she does because she's meant to do that, this will only favor well for her. And it just sucks that it's over. I told her TV. I did too. I told her TV also. She's beautiful. She'd probably do great. Oh, my gosh. With that bubbly personality and the sparkle in her eyes. Those jugs. Those giant jugs. You know? I mean, it's not going to hurt her. She's easy on the eyes. Yeah, she's easy on the eyes. Yeah, I think we could just say she's easy on the eyes, you know? Do you have to go into detail? Well, I mean, yeah, I mean, truth be known. Fair enough. Truth be known, yes. Do you want to get crazy? Truth be known, yes. I mean. I do want to get crazy. Truth be known. She's gone. I can say it.
You've laid off. I want you. Finally, I want you. I don't care what Kim thinks. Are you out there seeing her? If you are, I want you. I want your laid off bones. I'll fat you, Dad. Well, it's because you have big jugs. What a creep. Mac, I want her so bad I'd kiss her on the mouth. I want every bit of her. I want her back so bad that every part of her, I want her back. I ache. Bring on the big ones. make me so happy is to wrap my arms around her. Yum, yum, yum. Have you ever missed somebody so much? Like you got an erection. Oh, wow. Easy. Lauren O'Brien! Oh, my God. What? Oh, I'm in my coffin. I'm in my coffin. Did I go too far? She is the dirtiest birdie. Yep. What? Filthy. I'm Mikey. It's Woodsy. It's L-O-B. It's Jay.
It's gross. That's gross. Let's pull another that's a true statement. Let's do it. Please don't be mine. Every human alive likes the song Name by the Goo Goo Dolls. Yep. That's a true statement. I did not write that. I did. Woodsy did. Spaz. But. Spaz. But I agree with you, Woodsy. Every human. Osama Bin Laden. Loved. Loved name. Listen, I'm not going to try to deny. First time I heard, I was like probably the only good song on the album. Yeah. I didn't even like the other songs on the album. Every human. Our program director, Garrett, will tell you he doesn't like it. He likes it. He does like it. He likes it. Hey, Woods, I hate name. No, you don't. No, you don't hate name. You can't hate it. And the reason that you don't hate it is because you have blood coursing through your veins. Yes. And everyone likes it. How can you not? And there's a lot of people. That's why I picked this up. There's a lot of people that say they don't.
because of the name of the band and they think they're lame. And I don't think they're, you know, Zeppelin. But that is a damn good song. Yeah, see, we're not saying that they're the toughest heavy metal band to ever walk the face of the earth. What we're saying is it's damn near impossible to dislike this song. In fact, no one does. Right. I play guitar and if I came in and said, hey guys, I wrote this new song, I want you to hear it. And I started playing it. You guys would be like, that's freaking great. J would be like, that is dynamite. M1 Enviro Scientist from Orange County. I hate that song. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. Tell me what you hate about it. I don't like the words. I don't like the tune. And maybe it's because I'm a drummer, but there's just no percussion. I'm listening to percussion as we speak.
I'm listening to cymbals, which I... Ooh, cymbals. Well, he's not John Bonham. And, you know, he's not Neil Peart, but it's just a good song. It's a good guitar riff. It's a good voice. It's melodic. Are you married, Enviro Scientist? Yes, I am. Are you telling me that your husband, while you were dating, never gave you butterfly kisses and little tiny kisses on the neck to the song Name? No, I cannot say we've never listened to that song together. Well, you guys are missing out. You're missing out. I say tonight you French kiss him. Yep. And you listen to the song Name by the Goo Goo Dolls. Well, I'd have to find that song because I certainly don't have it in mine. Don't you? Don't you? Don't you? Don't you? You listen to it in the closet like I do. You go in the closet and you shut the door and you put pillows on the bottoms of the crack of the closet. and you listen to Name by the Goo Goo Deal. Yep. Woods, how long have you come out of that closet? No, I'm sorry. I really hate it. Thank you. Thank you. Don't believe you, but thank you. You don't hate it at all. You like it. I think that was... I think she changed her M1 name. I think that was M1LJ that called in before about how gorgeous she was. Did you recognize her voice? Sounded the same, and she's from Orange County, no?
Yeah, she was from Orange County. She never accepted my friend request. Old bloodhound over here. People don't know this about Lauren O'Brien if you don't know. Magnum P.I. Uncannily. It's a hunch. Uncannily. Not always right. Yeah, and sometimes she should get you. Just wanted to hear it again. Did a mashup? Yeah, just wanted to hear it more. I hear about the lady that whacked off her husband's private part. Not Lorena Bobbitt. Right. It's not Lorena Bobbitt. It's a different woman. Was that the best way you could have phrased that? That's what I'm saying. Sliced it. Thank you. Thank you. What'd I say? Thank you. I don't want to repeat it. Sunshine has a temper sometimes, but he's not all bad. Mikey. A problem here in La Mesa, still working it on the 125 southbound after Lemon Avenue. It's an accident. where this car rolled and it landed in the number three lane. Loans made pursuant to a Department of Corporation's California Finance Lenders Law license. I'm Stacey Cohen, FM 94.9. And now back to The Mikey Show with Mikey. I get nervous when I watch shows like The Real World. They make me nervous. Lauren. One of those things, no matter how many times someone tells me it's good, I'm not going to go see it. Woods. I'd vote for Ted Nugent over normal trucks. Sienna. And I think that guys that drive big lifted trucks are, you know, overcompensating for something that is little. And Jay. I think that a kid should be able to be a kid. On FM 94.9. So we still have Sienna on those little rejoins that we do. And the reason is because we love her. And we miss her.
Don't want to take it down yet. You said this the other day. You know how you know you love somebody? Even the stuff that would annoy you, you miss. Oh, yeah. That's how you know you love somebody. Oh, my eyes just filled up with water. I do miss her a lot. And it's only been a day. Yeah, it's been three hours. Two hours. That's pretty cool. When you have that impact on a human being. When you have that impact on human beings. That your personality is so sweet and so cool that when you're not there, they want you. Yeah. That's pretty cool. She's one in a million, dude. Just one in a million. Do we know what tonight's 8 o'clock album is? Tonight's 8 o'clock album? Michael Jackson. Hear it. Thriller.
We'll find out before the end of the show. I highly doubt it. I highly doubt it. That's probably not it. Probably not. We can just keep guessing, though, if you want it to be fun. Tonight's 8 o'clock album, Steely Dan. Garrett. Peg. Okay, I have it. Bat out of hell. You mean to write it down or do you want me to say it? No, say it. It's the shins. Garrett. Shoots too narrow. There you go. The shit! The shit! I was a little busy, Mike. Right? Seriously. It's one of the many things Sienna was able to stay on top of. Yes. Hey, gosh. Yeah, like her husband. Nothing's off limits with that guy. There's never a bad time for a joke. He's the guy at the funeral? Yes. Yes. And look, he's stiff. Get it? Get it. He's so ugly. I can't believe they're doing open casket on this guy. Good Lord. That's my uncle. I don't care. That guy's ugly as so big. I'd say he got the lucky end of the gene pool. Get it? Why does your grandma have a mustache? I don't get it. It's like Tom Selleck.
So this woman was charged yesterday because she cut off her husband's penis with a kitchen knife and then she put it in the garbage disposal. Her name is Catherine Kueh. How's that? What's what? That's funny how you said her name. It's funny the way you say it. No, I'm just saying, tell me, it's funny. You're a funny guy. You're a funny guy. Do I amuse you? Yes, you are. You do. My name is Catherine Q. What do you want me to do about it? Catherine Q. Q. Catherine Q. You're doing karate over there? I picture you breaking a board when you said that. She's 48. She is accused of tying up her husband while he slept and then pulling his pants down. Who sleeps in their pants? Maybe he's sleeping pants.
Where do you get sleeping pants? Pajama pants. Pajama jeans. Pajama jeans. I've seen those. Sounds good so far. Well, no, this is a legitimate news source, and it says that she's accused of tying him down and pulling down his pants. And I'm like, but already that doesn't seem right. It doesn't seem like he'd be sleeping with his pants. She put a sedative in his food to make him go lie down. Well, apparently her husband was 60 years old, and they got into an argument over friends staying at the house. And that's what happened. That's it? I thought he was slaying somebody else, for sure. That's what you would think. He had friends over at the house. At the end of the Mikey show, the credits would roll, and it would say, sound effects, dot, dot, dot, J. Isbell. Jason R. Isbell.
Isabel. Parentheses, Mr. Perfect. Can you imagine that conversation? Hey, babe, my friends from out of town are coming in town. They can stay here, right? At school? We good? They can stay here, but I'm going to wrap off yours. Why don't you go take a nap? Well, first eat this. Yeah, feast on this. Feast on this. You get drowsy, and then I'm going to wrap it off. Wow. Catherine K. You can finish her last name, Mike. Right. No, it's finished, you know. Cute. Cute. With Lorena Bobbitt, they were able to sew his wiener back on. Now, with this case, they can't. Because she ground it up. What do you do? You have a vagina. No. No, no, no. You can't. And you can't, by the way. You cannot. You look like a Barbie doll. Probably. They will. They'll fashion it into some sort of... But they can't... You know what they can't do is they cannot make it into a vagina. They can't. Couldn't they just take your big toe and... For me, they'd take my arm. No, they wouldn't, Jay. Trust me. So they did that for missing fingers. Exactly the same thing. They can make a cast with a number two pencil. Make a cast. Or a hose. Or a Sharpie. I love the hose.
Hot dog. Ice cream cone. Microphone. Beer can. Corn on the cob. Lighthouse. Wiener schnitzel. Okay. Ketchup bottle. All right. Oak tree. Mustard. Elephant. Campbell's soup pan. Ant eater. Ant eater. Elephant truck. Dirt flame log. L-O-B. Baseball back. Husky pencil. Semi-truck. Yeah, sign me up for that. Y'all ever seen those pipes that carry oil from out in the Gulf back to shore? Longer than it's ever been. Y'all ever seen those? Yeah, I've seen them, Jay. They're about 28 miles long. That's right. I have a burning in my loins right now. Easy, Lauren. Wow.
Easy. Oh, my God. You cue that one up yourself or longer than it's ever been? Sometimes you work with what you got. You know that, Mikey. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. Where's his face? He's a ghost. All right. Let's see. Milk is going after men in campaigns because they're telling men, that it can cure PMS for their ladies. Elizabeth Cohen joining me now. And Elizabeth, I just want to bring up the website because it's pretty hysterical. It's very funny. It really is. Let's roll it. It's everythingidoiswrong.org. It's a hilarious campaign. Yeah, check this website out. Everythingidoiswrong.org.
You can see the guy right there in the middle of the screen holding that glass of milk saying this can help with PMS. So give us a reality check. Is there truth to that? You know, there actually are studies that show that women who get a lot of dairy products, not just milk, but a lot of dairy products, low fat, do seem to suffer from PMS. I am so lucky. Rebecca does not have PMS. I don't like in terms of like behavior. Right. I've dated girls that do. Rebecca never does. She's the same. She's always the same. Why did you just look at LLB? I didn't. You did. I swear I didn't. I'm telling you, I observed you. Just in conversation, it was not engaging her. What I'm saying is that I saw you very quickly take a quick look over to your left, your immediate left, where LLB is sitting. Fair enough. Fair enough. Well, what happens? Is that there's a release of hormones. And you can't help it. It doesn't have to do with you. You can't do anything about it. The hormones are released. They're released in a very large dosage. And you have estrogen. Estrogen creates, you know, emotion. Irrational behavior. Yeah. And if you've got so much of it out going in through your body, you know. And the worst part about it is you know that it's happening. And you just can't.
Do anything about it. Oh, gosh. Until after the fact, and then you apologize. That's horrible. Have you ever used it as a bit? No. No? Never. I would. Like a madman. Sorry, man. You do. When I was a teenager, I used to think that PMS and cramps were a bit. But I've realized now as an adult man that that is not true, that they are real. Why do you have a shirt on that says PMS and cramps are a bit, in fact? Because I didn't think you were going to tell everyone. That's what I'm here to do. You got a letter here that your membership card for PMS is fake.org. It's finally come through. It's up for renewal. This peachy folder that I have that I wrote on graffiti style with red ink that says cramps are a load is not mine.
It doesn't belong to me. That's not my peachy folder. Well, it's somebody's. It's somebody's. It's just in front of me, but it doesn't mean it's mine. Why do you have a tweet up that says PMS question mark LOL? Why do I have a tweet up that says, can you believe these broads pound PMS is a bit. All one word. I would like to say hello to John Dimmick, who is now following us on Twitter. He is our big boss, and he is following me on Twitter. He is following all of us on Twitter. I'm going to assume that he's listening to us from his headquarters in Atlanta. And I would like to welcome him as a new follower of us on Twitter. You're going to like what you see, pal. We guarantee it. That's the voice of Stephen R. Woods. Now, I cannot guarantee you you're going to like what you see.
From me or L-O-B? I can. Wood says you can. You guys are good tweeters. 99% of what I put up there is a joke. I tweet about once every six months. All right. All right. I'll be part of the team. Did a camel just parade through the studio or did we? Where'd Jake go? What was that? I tweet every six months. Later. Where'd he go? Where did he go? Where did he go? Do you think that the big boss of this company likes me? No. I don't either. But I like him. And every time I see him, I'm very happy to see him. But it's not unlike any big company that I've ever worked for. The big guys don't like me. They just don't. On the local level, they like me, defend me, try to get the people that are the big people to understand why I'm likable.
But the big guys, they think, well, let's just put it this way. If they had to make a decision between getting their arm bitten off by an alligator or having to spend one moment with me in a car just to go down the street to get a pack of cigarettes, they'd rather get their arm bitten off and have the alligator go into a death roll. I agree with that. For 45 minutes, then hang out with me. I don't know why that is. I don't either. It's just the case. It's an unwritten rule. Now, Garrett has said to me. Garrett! Garrett! Our program director, Garrett, has said. Garrett! Garrett has said, it's not true, Mike. John likes you. In fact, he loves you. He loves you. I said, then why does he have a t-shirt on that has a picture of me with a circle and a line through it? Yes, he wears that t-shirt a lot. Yeah. I can't explain that, Mike. It's a bit.
It's a bit. He thought he thinks it would be funny. He thought you'd like it. Why does he have a t-shirt on that says down with short, bald Mexicans? He's talking about a different one. A.K.A. Mikey, though. It says right next to it. That might not hold up in court. Garrett. Hey. How you doing? It's Sam the Cooking Guy. How are you? How you doing, man? It's good to see you. Sit down. Sit down. This is a while. Because I remember. It was at the old station. No, it wasn't even. It was in San Jose? No. Where? How you doing? Steve Woods. Nice to meet you. Sam, the cooking guy. Sam, where was it? It was at... Oh! We're on. We're on. We're on. We're on. Yeah, we're on the air. We're on the air.
No, no, no. It was the waiter event. Oh, man. Oh, yeah, the celebrity waiter thing. Celebrity waiter event. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I didn't mean to interrupt. For Star Pal. Oh, you're good. I came to sit here on the cover. No, come on. Sit down. Oh, that's funny. Sam the cooking guy just came in. It's dropping bombs. It's all right. You didn't know. I like it. I didn't know. I didn't know. I didn't know. Can I see your book? Yeah. I figured they sent you some. They did. They never sent enough. They did, but it's at home. I brought a couple more because. There's always a couple people that don't get it. Sam the Cooking Guy's got a book called Just Grill This. And you look at the cover and you put three of the greatest looking things ever. Grilled shrimp, a perfectly grilled steak. With herb butter. With herb butter. And it's great because they snapped the picture right before the herb butter started to ooze over the steak. Yeah, the ooze is the porn part that they chose not to put on. Yeah. Well, as Andrew Zimmern, I heard Andrew Zimmern say the other day, he's like, this right here is the foreplay and this right here, that's making the baby. Yes, Andrew Zimmern said that between mouthfuls of snake ass. That's a true statement. And then you've got grilled corn.
The caramelized, blackened part. That's the Mexican grilled corn recipe that's in the book. It hadn't gotten to the point where the mayonnaise got spread on it and then the cheese over the top. Thank you. Mamacita. My goodness. Is there lime on that? You got some good. There's a little lime on that. Of course. I got a million questions for you, but we'll wait. We're not ready for me, as I obviously know. I don't need to. No, no, no. But Sam, you got to understand that's, I don't do, we're just going to talk. Right. I'm not going to be like, we're here and, you know, we're not going to do like that kind of thing. We'll just, we'll talk. We'll talk about your new book and all that. The first time I met you was at the, what's the event? It's called the Star Pal Celebrity Waiter. Star Pal Celebrity Waiter event, right? Yeah. So up to that point, I had only seen you on billboards. Uh-huh. And you looked like a badass MF-er. Yeah. Not in person. And I met you at that thing. I was like, wow, he's such a nice, sweet guy. Yeah, that's nice of you. It's just that, you know, you can't judge a book. I totally believe that. Yeah. We have a similar affinity for one another. Yep. Man, dude, this is good looking food. I'm starving. Oh, my gosh. This is good looking food. I have to say, I love the comfort of this. Studio? Studio. I ran into some guys outside. I got my little name tag from the thing. And they said.
And here for the audience. And I said, no, I'm here to talk. And the dude that didn't say that, the guy he was with, goes, hey, man, that's Sam the Cooking Guy. And he goes, oh, I think I've heard your commercials. He goes, great. I got a whole freaking TV show and books all over the place. And you know me from a commercial, man. I'm clearly not working hard enough. Oh, my gosh. What you got? I have Paige. 66. Look at that, Woods. Oh, man. A chicken parmesan sub. Grilled chicken parm. Because here's the thing. That thing is normally deep fried. The chicken is breaded and then deep fried and it's all fatty and there's a heavy sauce. I grill it and then the sauce is made from taking...
Big slices of tomato and putting them right on the grill and letting them soften up and get a little blackened in spots. Oh, my. Yeah, it's good. Dude. Well, we'll talk. Sam the Cooking Guy is here. And when we come back, we are going to discuss his new book and what he's got. And I'll tell you this because I have the book. And took it home. And he's got... You know what, man? This is just... It is guy... Like, guy, guy, guy. Everything that a dude loves to eat, it's all in here. Yeah, you don't have to be a master chef to know what to do with his book. It's good. We'll be right back. That's because I'm not. Yeah, we'll find out. We're going to hear the whole story. Hang on. Hey, gang, it's your old pal, Woodsy, for Denny's Tour of America. It's a new limited-time menu. It's offered until August 29th. Dude, we get Denny's in here a lot, and their breakfast is so good, and we love it so much. But what they've got, they've got six new celebrated dishes from the Midwestern and Southern states, as well as Philly, California, and Hawaii. I don't admit very often when I'm wrong. Ziena. I have the fastest wiener dog on the planet. And Jay. I love that sappy move. On FM 94.9. In July, and what it means is a live studio audience here with us today. Welcome back. We have Sam the Cooking Guy in the studio with us right now. And Sam the Cooking Guy's got TV shows. He's got a cookbook out right now called... Number three. Just Grow This. This is number three. Yeah. Wow. And... I'll send you guys the other two. Should I do that? Please. I would love it. I'll send the other two. I would love it. But I was telling, you know, when we were in the break, I said to Sam, as I looked through the book, you know, you can just... And I think it stands for just about anything. When you meet somebody in a given profession, you can kind of go, wow, they really get it. Or maybe they don't.
But Sam gets it. And all you have to do is flip through the pages of this book to realize, dude gets it. I feel like I get simple things that go together easily and quickly and without a lot of fuss. And my goal is, I mean, in anything, you need to know who your audience is and what your brand is and stuff like that. My audience is a lot like me. I was saying, I didn't go to culinary school, so I can't do the fancy tricks. I can't use the fancy ingredients. I don't know that stuff. And because of that, the things that I put together have to be simple for my simple mind. But I think that's what people that follow me want. Every so often somebody will write in and go, oh, teach us how to do something with foie gras or something. I go, dude, that's why God invented restaurants. Yeah. You go out for the food that you can't make or don't know how to make. Right. I'm not going to do foie gras at home. Right. Because most people aren't doing that. Yeah. My show is about... Most people don't even know what foie gras is. No. And we don't even have to talk about it because it'll piss people off. But my show is about regular food that you can get at a regular, everyday, mainstream supermarket. Well, yeah. Stop there on the way home and buy it. I've got to digress for a second. I just sprayed this nature's call. Oh, that's the poop drops. Yep. Are they sponsored? There's poo in here.
No. No. I had to think about that because I was thinking ahead of what you might say, and no, they're not. I just think a box of wooden matches are the answer. But then it smells like somebody lit your poop on fire. No, it smells like sulfur. It smells like sulfur. See, I use those at home, and now I smell poo. Because I use those at home. It's like Pavlov's dog. It's Pavlov's dog. Poop problem. I went on a date one time, Sam the Cooking Guy. I'll digress with you. I went on a date one time, walked out of the room. Yeah. When I walked out of the room, the young lady that I was on the date with farted. Right. When I returned into the room. Completely natural thing, by the way. Totally. Just not on a first date. Not from a woman. And not from a woman. No, we don't want to know that the women are doing that. But they are. Come on, let's be honest. No, they're not. We can be honest. But if we're being honest, I'll also let you know that I don't want to smell it. Right. Neither do I. Just in honesty, I don't. Absolutely. I didn't. Maybe I had to. I held it. I wish she had. And to this day, whenever I smell CK1... Oh, no. You smell fart. I smell fart. Luckily, only German guys wear CK1. Is that true? It's a proven scientific fact, yes. They've done studies. I read it somewhere.
German man is on the one. Excuse me, Klaus. Have you got the CK1? Of course I do. Of course I do. Of course I have. You want to borrow? I might have to pass some gas later on. I want to have some extra to spray around the room. He's holding a bottle called Nature's... What is it? Nature's Call. Nature's Call. You spray it in the bowl and it eliminates soda. You know what? Unfortunately, this poor guy over here, I sprayed it in his direction. I just wanted to get a scent of it. Yeah. Dude, now you're going to smell like a toilet bowl. But maybe when it interacts, do you spray it before you flush? Before you go. Shut the hell up. Before you go, shake bottle, spray directly into the toilet bowl before doing your business. Then do your thing and leave the bathroom. Confident that it's safe to enter. Now, they're ripping off a company that I had originally found that has been unavailable. a product that was drops called Nature Calls. Now, I don't know how they engineered this thing, but it worked. You dropped a few drops into the bowl, and it virtually eliminated odor. Do you just carry that in your purse? I don't get it. I mean, what do you use to walk in there carrying a bottle of, you know, spray? Well, at home, you just leave it on the toilet. I use it at home, Jay. Yeah, I don't take it to Disneyland. Well, it's here at the station. Somebody left it here. Well, yeah.
It's not for our personal use. Yeah, I don't. And I think that's meant for home. I don't think that you're supposed to take it with you on rides. Was it George Carlin that did that bit about going to a woman's house and having to go number two on a date? So he goes in, but it won't flush. So he takes it out of the bowl and puts it up in the tank and shuts the lid on. That's hideous. That is hideous. Let's get back to this. And I'm a food guy. He's a food guy. Yeah, we're talking about food. I didn't intend for it to digress. All right, all right, all right. Let's talk about food. It's Sam the Cooking Guy, and he's got a new book called Just Grilled Us. Now, how's this? Grilled bacon and mashed potatoes? On a pizza. Oh, dude. Oh, on a pizza. On a pizza. Now, at first, you go, well, mashed potatoes don't belong on a pizza. Why not? Why don't they? This is my outlying thinking that I write in the book. Tell me about it. What do you say about that? What do you say to the person that goes, Sam, you can't put mashed potatoes on a pizza. They don't go together. I mean, hey, I had dim sum yesterday. I ate chicken's feet. What about the first person that went, you can't eat a chicken's foot? What about the first person who thought of cheese? Yeah, exactly. Cheese is pretty simple. It's not like chicken's feet. It's not the same category. But you can't dog it unless you've tried it. And unless there's something, you like pizza, you like mashed potatoes, you like bacon, you like cheese. How couldn't they go together well?
I never had a rhino's horn. I don't want to, though. What about that? You know what they say it does for you? Yeah, it's supposed to... Yeah, it's exactly... Strengthens your manhood. Strong like bull? That's what they say. That's what they say. But you're right. I mean, if you've never tried it, you got to, and you did, and it tasted good, so you're like... And the thing is, you know, I mean, I don't... put stuff in a book that i've not worked on somewhere and a lot of the stuff came out of the show the day we did and that's grilled pizza on the grill pizza done on the grill not like an oven you can do it in the oven but pizza done out on a grill is amazing so i did it on the show and that day the crew consisted of which normally does me shannon behind the camera who also shoots the show and michelle who produces it And those two ate like it was their last meal. Shoveling the grilled mashed potato bacon pizza and they could not get enough of it. That's so great. And now we were talking and you were telling me about one of the things we were talking about is truly enjoying your job. Yeah. And you love what you do. Love what I do. I feel like the luckiest kid in the planet. I bet, man. I mean, to be able to cook and cook the way you want to, you know, and get paid for that is a pretty cool job.
You quit your job at one point, went into this line of work. Again, never been to cooking school, but just had kind of a knack for it. You know what it was? It was supposed to be a travel show that got derailed by 9-11. I actually quit my biotech job because I hated what I was doing so much. I had this idea in my head about a travel show. Me going to a complicated place, showing people that you could go someplace complicated and just figure it out, right? You don't need to be... What's his name? Steve. Steve. Who? The guy that does that travel show. Steve. Are you talking about the one I was talking about? Andrew Zimmer? No, no, no, no. Steve. I don't know. Jobs. Not Steve Jobs. Let's just throw Steve's out there. Steve Irwin. Stephen Colbert. Steve Stone. Stephen Colbert. Stephen Spielberg. There's a guy that's got a travel show. Steve, what the hell is his name? Maybe it's not Steve. That travels Europe and whatever. But mine was supposed to be a guy with no travel training, no travel experience, goes to Hong Kong, shows you, you can go figure the place out. It's totally, and the part of actually figuring it out, for me, that was the excitement. Oh, that's terrifying. Isn't that terrifying? No. See, I went with my brother-in-law. But Sam, you're going to eat turd food. If you do that, you know you're going to have some success.
But there's going to be like... But it wasn't just eating. It was about going. It wasn't a food show. Mikey, it was just a travel show. So I would go shoot in Hong Kong. You see, the problem is I took a vacation. My brother-in-law went to Tokyo for work for a week. And he was on a convention, and I went just to hang around. During the day, it was just me walking the streets of Tokyo, eating the food, finding my way around the subway, taxis, that kind of thing. Fighting off the crowds. Came home, told my friends about it. They were like, dude, I could not do Tokyo by myself. And I go, why not? And they go, you don't know what to eat. You don't know how to, you can't read the signs. Nothing makes sense. You don't know what the food is, you know. You walk into a restaurant and you can't understand anybody, so you have to point and go, I'll have that, what that guy's having that looks on the outside. Like a bowl of rice, but underneath there could be an octopus head. Sure. You really don't know. Right. But for me, that was a little bit of the invention side. I don't want to jump out of a plane, but I want to do that. Yeah. So I thought that could be my show. Quit my biotech job a month before we were going to leave to go shoot a bunch of demo footage, 9-11 happened. And I always say, that day changed thousands of other people's lives much more significantly than it changed mine. But it left me on September 12th of 2011.
With no job to go back to and no job to go to. So I sat at home. I watched TV. I liked the idea of still being that guy, that regular guy that could show people how to do something they thought they couldn't do. I just had to fill it in with something else because travel was gone. Have you met a lot of these, you know, cooking people? I don't know anybody. You don't know any other people? I don't know anybody. Do you like any of these guys? Are there anyone you watch, you go, yeah, I beat that. Yeah, that looks good. Yeah, but I don't know if I want to meet them. We started a live cast a couple months ago. It's a video podcast we do three nights a week. It's called the Sam Livecaster. We shoot it live. It's uncensored. It's uncut. It's quite unlike the TV show. The Sam Livecast. You can go to samlivecast.com and find it. We've started a new segment on it called Why We Hate the Food Network. I don't watch it anymore. I used to love it. Why don't you watch it? Same reason I stopped watching MTV. There wasn't videos anymore. And there's not cooking on that show. It's just freaking competitions. I hate the competitions. And I feel like everything is so staged and formatted and set up. I just want it to be something that's honest and whatever. I cut myself on my show, which I do, or I burn myself all the time. We leave that stuff in because that's what happens when you cook. If you're going to be a lifeguard, you're going to get wet.
It's just the way it is. If you're going to cook in a kitchen, you're going to get cut or burned or something. We leave that stuff in. You should. And people watch the show and they're like, you're like me cooking in my kitchen. It's compelling television. It's good. MTV stopped doing all the videos and they started playing all the reality shows. The Food Network stopped cooking and started doing cake. Oh. And I'm not interested. Cake and cupcake and Disneyland ice cream scapes this week. And I mean, it's just everything's a competition. Everything's staged and set up. It just makes me sick. Yeah. I do enjoy, as a guy, I love grilling. Yeah. I love cooking. Yes. And that's why I appreciate. Thank you. I appreciate this book. Thank you. Sam the Cooking Guy just grilled this. Really, really good food in there. And easy to make. I mean, it's not hard stuff to do. I mean, it's easy enough to do. Check this out. Grilled sesame meatballs. You buy frozen meatballs from the supermarket. Any idiot can do this. I can do this. I'm an idiot. Frozen meatballs from the supermarket. You let them thaw. You toss them in sesame oil. And you throw them on a hot grill.
Sounds great. You're pretty much done. You roll them around until they get color on them. You put a little bamboo skewer in each one. That's good. And then you mix anything you want. I suggest hoisin sauce, which is like Chinese barbecue sauce. Yeah. And a little chili paste for a little spice. Sounds good. You take them off. You dip. The best thing to do, have a bunch of people over, give that job to one of your friends. Yeah. Because anybody can do that. Here, okay, you'll know this better than anybody because I've never tried this, but you'll know. Yeah. I go to the grocery store. I'm looking at the... I want to get something to barbecue. I want to get something to grill. Yeah. And you'll see these pre-made things of hamburger with like cheese in it. Yeah. Is that a bit or is that any good? No, I don't think it's any good. I mean, I purposely not bought it because I thought that looks like it's going to be weird. Here's the deal. I like to get a burger. where it needs to be, and then I like to do the cheese thing on top. I want to see the cheese on top. The only inside cheese thing that I would do, and what you're talking about is little chunky, tiny, tiny bits of cheddar mixed in with the beef, right? I'll do lamb. Are you lamb? I love lamb. Okay, so do this. I take lamb, ground lamb. I put little bits of red onion in it, chopped up, finely chopped up red onion, little bits of mint, little olive oil, season it, kosher salt pepper.
I form it into a patty, and then I make a divot in the middle, and I jam like about a one-and-a-half-inch chunk of feta in the middle of that, and then I close it back up again. Now, Woods, I know, is about to barf because you can't get him. It's hideous. I can't get this guy, Sam, to try these new things. I don't need to. I know what I like. I know what I like. Do you know how old the Greek culture is? Thank you. Yeah, great. There's new things. Another reason I don't live in Greece. Listen. Okay? I'm telling him. I'm telling him. I say, if you tried it, you would love it. I've tried lamb. It's hideous. It's delicious. It's delicious. Someone can look hideous. I don't think hideous is a word that you are. I still smell this bathroom thing. I know. I know. Speaking of hideous. I'm going to try that. That sounds great. It's great. And I don't even do a bun with that thing. I just do a good, good, really good extra virgin olive oil over the top of that. That sounds great. Sam, the cooking guy. He's got a new book out called Just Grill This. And best way to get it is, you probably get it on Amazon, but you can get it on your website, too. If you go to the website, I don't sell the book, but it'll link you to where you can get it. But this weekend, I'm at Costco Saturday. The new crazy-ass Costco in San Marcos. That's the one my dad talked about like it was Disneyland.
My dad talked about it like he went to Disneyland. I can't wait to see it, but I don't know what's going on there. Something. Something is going on. Magic. I think they're giving out $300 bills at the door. My dad, I'm telling you, my dad talked to me about that new Costco in San Marcos as if they had just opened some sort of Eden in the middle. Are there rides? You talk to my dad, you'll think that maybe there is because the guy's in love with it. Toilet paper. Dad, don't they sell that at a regular Costco? No, you got to see it. Not like this. Not like this, son. Not like this. I can't wait. I want to get in that money tube. That's the ride I want to go on. You know when they put like a bunch of 50s in that thing and send it up through the system? Yes. That'd be a badass ride. Yeah, it would. The thing that goes... The tube would have to be a little bigger. M1 Chris is on the line from Oceanside. Go ahead. What's up, Mike? What's going on? Hey, Sam. I totally dig your point of view, dude. I've been 25 years in restaurant business. Didn't go to culinary school myself either, but rocking the simple flavors is what it's all about. It's exactly right. You know, the live cast last night, we had Matt Gordon from Urban Solus, and I don't know who's been there. In North Park, he does, I'm not sure this is his description, but sort of Americanized comfort food. Uh-huh. And honestly, some of the best food in San Diego. The guy never has taken a culinary...
class, a second's worth anywhere. It's about doing something that you want to do that your heart makes you happy. And I say this to people all the time, you know, your last day on this planet, you're not going to remember the money. And I don't care the rich people that are walking around it now all douchey with the attitude that go, no, dude, it is about the money. It's not about the money. It's about waking up in the morning and being happy that you get to go do what you get to do. And a lot of us have that. And a lot don't. And my advice is try and find it. And I'm not saying quit your job to go do what you believe would be the dream job. But I say you add a little bit into that into your life. I had a teacher come up after an event I did and said, your story has just really spoken to me. I love teaching, but I think I want to become an actor. I'm thinking of quitting. So here's what I think you should do. Start involving your life with a little community theater on weekends. See how that goes for you. Because you might suck as an actor. And then you've given up an amazing career to do that. Maybe you find that you're satisfied with community theater on weekends or at nights. You become a prop person or a lighting person or a costume, whatever it is. Even if it's a little bit in your life, two, three days a week, two, three nights a week.
I bet you that's going to make you a better teacher, and it will help fulfill you. Well, there's certainly nothing wrong with that advice. No. I mean, there's nothing, you can't find a flaw in it. Don't do what I did and jump off a cliff and quit a job to a completely uncertain future. M1 Bear from Claremont. Hey, good morning, guys. Morning. Hey, I just had a call. My wife actually had our second child last night. Congrats, man. Congrats. Appreciate it. And in all honesty, Sam, I'm not... because you're on the show, but we were flipping around, and we saw Sam the Cooking Guy, man. The thing we love about that show is, like you were saying, you can just go to a grocery store. You don't have to go search all these fancy meat markets. That was my biggest thing was, like, you know, they say, oh, you've got to get the steak with this type of marbling. You know, like, man, I don't have the time to go searching for the perfect meat store or whatever the case may be. So we just appreciate the simplicity and being able to make it. That easy, so. Thanks, Randy. You know, congratulations. And by the way, just let me say, remember all that sleep you've been getting? That is about to end. Say goodbye to that. That is about to end. I appreciate it. Sam, when you go to the fair, what do you like? Is there a go-to that you have to have every time? We do, six of us do the fair every year. Three couples. We do the same stops. We always go to Chicken Charlie's.
Who we had in the live cast. Amazing story, by the way. You would never expect his background to be his background. Really super great guy. So we just go there to try his new stuff. And the fried Kool-Aid he was doing this year. Did you try it? It's really good. Did you like it? Loved it. Yeah. Somebody told me they had it and they said it was good. They said it was kind of like cake. Really, I think it was taken like Kool-Aid and mixed it with Indian fry bread kind of batter. It was really good. I don't like the sweet chocolate bar things. I'm not that guy. How about the cinnamon rolls? We don't do cinnamon rolls. Man, do I love those. I feel like I can make those at home. You can? Maybe we hang out. I love, and I know you can get this anywhere. The original Hot Dog on a Stick. The blue, the red, the white, the little pompy hats, the outfits. I shot a show a bunch of years ago. It's what I'm wearing right now. Hot Dog on a Stick truck came into my driveway. And we shot part of it in their truck. They're amazing people. They make the best one. We do the block of curly fries that they cut with an apple.
peeler. And then they deep fry this whole block and they do chili and cheese on top of that. Nice. The falafel burger. That sounds good. That guy's crazy good. That sounds good, man. That's amazing, yeah. Woodsy, what's your favorite thing to grill? To grill? Steak. Steak. Love steak. What kind of steak do you like? All kinds, man. Ribeye, New York. I love New York. Love filet. Filets are, you know, they can be kind of a pain to cook. My wife's kind of a pain to me. Can I make a suggestion? Sure. You go to Costco and you can buy a whole filet, a whole tenderloin. So really, it's like eight or ten filets not cut all in one giant piece. My contention is it's easier to cook one big-ass steak than it's ten separate ones. You can always find little well done on the ends for somebody that likes it like that, not that somebody should like it like that. Medium rare is where it should be. It's ridiculous. I agree. But you do that. Buy one of those. They're going to be about $60, $70. But they feed a lot of people. You've always got some left over the next day. And it's an amazing, impressive thing to bring on a big platter. And they don't take very long to do. Now, one of those Costco deals, how many people can I feed off one of those things? 20. Oh, my gosh. Dude.
That's the bit, man. Or just you. 20 little kids. Oh, wow. Or just a snack, man. I do classes. I do classes and I have 40 people in a class and we do two of those. Wow. But I'm not feeding like, it's not like meat fest. 2011. Isn't it? We definitely have others. Isn't it in fact? She is. Look how cute she is when she says that. I know. That's her thing. She looks all innocent and cute. That's exactly it. She's just using her sex appeal real good. Yeah. There it is right there. That's right. But it is. It's so cute. She will say. Cute. She'll do it with a straight face with this cute look and she'll say. The filthiest thing. Well, Sam's wearing a shirt that says meat fat. Meat fat. I mean, what am I supposed to say? You just got to get a camera on her for those moments, right? It's the truth. You're telling me. Hey, let's hear it for Sam the Cooking Guy. Thanks, guys. Thank you, Sam. We appreciate it, man.

My voice is always sweet. Woods. If I had my choice, I'd be sitting on a beach having a Marlboro. Doing nothing. Sitting. Play my guitar. That's it. Sienna. I've always wanted to punch someone in the face. And Jay. I killed my first deer when I was seven. On FM 94.9. It kills me not to know this, but I've all but just forgotten what the color of her eyes were. And her scars are how she got them. As the telling signs of age rain down, a single tear is dropping. Let's make some noise with our live studio audience who's having here. This world has forgotten. Sam, the cooking guy's cool. Poor guy. Yep. Funny guy. Good food. Very good food.
Let's see. So, what? The breaking news? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. You want me to do it? Yeah, go ahead. Yeah, well, this is crazy. About an hour ago, I told you that Roger Clemens may be in trouble because they found DNA on the needles, his DNA on the steroid needles. Well, now the judge has declared it a mistrial. A mistrial. So, basically, what happened is... Clemens off the hook. Yeah, I mean, for now. So can they try it again? What his attorney is going to do is go, well, you can't because it's double jeopardy. So then he's off the hook. For now. There's a motion filed for a double jeopardy hearing. So the prosecution has till August 2nd to respond. Hearing would take place September 2nd. But what the prosecutors did, it's their fault. They dropped the ball. Judge said, do not put this evidence in. They did it anyway. And the judge said, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. You can't do that. You can't. I told you you couldn't do it. You did it. It's a mistrial. See you later.
Crazy. So how are you saying that he could maybe... Because it's a mistrial and he's not acquitted. Double Jeopardy may still be able to do that. Double Jeopardy may not apply. Right. They said they're going to have a hearing on Double Jeopardy by September 2nd. Oh my. It's crazy. Well, he's got to be pretty stoked. One would imagine. 570-1949, if you want to play TomTom tunes, the idea here is that we'll bring TomTomGirl in here, and you will have to listen to the TomTomGirl, give you the lyrics to a couple of songs, and you have to tell us what the song is, or the artist. I was listening to Garrett on the air yesterday and he even had some trouble saying that word. This woman has a PhD. Her name is Mary Ann Layden. She was on Capitol Hill giving a briefing about porn. Several decades ago.
Researchers conducted a study in which they inserted electrodes in the pleasure centers of rats' brains and then hooked the electrodes to a button that the rats could push to give themselves a burst of brain-generated pleasure. The rats liked it so much they began to push the button continuously, and they forgot to eat, to sleep, or to have sex, and they died. They pleasured themselves to death. I once had a patient that we will call John. He told me he had a fantasy about a career that would be ideal for him. He spent a significant amount of time preparing himself for this career, training, looking for career opportunities, making contacts, and applying for jobs. Then one day he came to a therapy session with the exciting news that he had an appointment for a job interview that was the dream job. This was his big chance that he'd worked for for so long. didn't go to that interview because the morning of the interview, John could not get himself to stop surfing internet porn sites. My patient Harold loved his wife but stopped having sex with her. Because of his pornography use, he could no longer get aroused by a real woman. His sex drive had been burned out and exhausted by the constant bombardment of images of women with unnatural body parts.
engaging in more and more extreme, degrading, and painful sex acts. Hey, listen. I've said it for a long time. I think you get desensitized. You get desensitized to stuff. I know I did. When I used to look at porn, I got desensitized to it. I also think that it is, you know, like a drug. I've done a case study. It shows the exact opposite. It's about a 40... 48-year study. Really? You started at birth? At birth. He has a lab coat, in fact. Yeah, he does have a lab coat. An OBGYN lab coat. Science, Holmes. Oh, gross. It's outstanding. I think it does. I think that a lot of dudes have less sex with their wives when they're looking at porn on a regular basis. Me, personally. I don't, man.
Fuel's my fire. For tomorrow's old man that does science, I bring in my evidence. Of my case study. Four kids. At least, Mike. Did that tell you anything? It's just unfortunate I wasn't able to document my study. Right-handed. Holy cow, dude. Oh, wow. My goodness. Holy cow. That talk we had about this. Ooh. Wow, that was... I kind of thought it would be me that said stuff like that when he hired me. Oh, man. Even I know not to say stuff like that. To say things like that, right? I mean, I know better than that. Caller number one is M1, face for radio in San Diego. How are you, face for radio? I'm good, Mike. How's the crew? Everybody's doing well, bro. Say hello to the TomTom girl. Hey, baby doll. Hello. Wow, that was arousing, wasn't it? She is a machine, so she does not exactly sound human. She does have a very robotic sound to her. How have you been, TomTom girl? I am doing okay, Mikey, considering the circumstances.
What she said was, considering the circumstances, but again, it's robotic and so it doesn't come across quite the same. M1, face for radio. You're going to have 20 seconds to decipher the lyrics to this song. Starting now. I remember when rock was young. Me and Susie had so much fun. That is correct. Hey, what did he win?
