Yours truly was in the studio this morning, making it right for Woodsy’s birthday this upcoming Monday. Talk of nasty school food is lost on Debutante Sienna. How’d you like to have Sienna in your auto-shop class? Jay sure would. The Kid says GIT! to yoga. M1 Soonersfan calls in with a painful story that will make your skin crawl. Apple announces a press conference and the gang speculates on what it will be about. Even Microsoft is getting in jabs about Apple’s recent woes. Mikey inspects a M1’s IPhone 4. BP finally caps the oil flow and Mikey can’t understand all the mean things people are still saying on Facebook. Stingray mania brings Wolfgang into the fray. Woods wonders aloud what would happen if he got stung on his wiener! Really? Sidelined from a sneeze? It’s true; the Padres’ ace pitcher goes on the DL after his schnozz caused an injury. The Panel takes on Mikey’s whacky weather theory, the Arizona immigration law, and Baskin Robbins’ flavor throwaway. A forensic expert thinks something’s fishy about the Mel Gibson audio. Eskimo Bluewaters says she is running out of ideas but then creates a new music genre; Popera! EBW then name-drops her new sponsor. Mikey likes Larry King’s interviewing techniques as audio is played of him having Laurence Taylor’s wife on his show. Jay thinks LT was set up by someone. An email from a teenage girl who wants a nose job creates a big discussion. Food from Maria Maria is delivered, which explains this taco stain on my notes. LOB admits being teased about her looks while growing up. Blair Witch is debuted in all its hilariousness! Check it out on Mikeyshow.com if you’re the one dweeb who hasn’t seen it yet. Should I say more on Lindsay Lohan or moron Lindsay Lohan is next? Radio Charades sees Sienna kung-fu fighting, LOB going batty, and Woods committing suicide. But Sienna, he’s Todd the God, and deities need their sleep! Pregnant or not, you better not wake The Kid. M1s call in with crazy pregnant wife stories. DP stands for Dr. Pepper, says Woods, but what dirty Jay says it stands for draws howls of laughter! A story about a plummeting Pink is next. Jay tells his awesome death defying failed parachute story. During a break, I was in the hallway and witnessed two giggling goons racing back to the studio and then Mikey tells why in his bromance bathroom story. Cash-less friends leads to Woodsy’s funny “Frank the Armenian” story. Sienna explains resume dos and don’ts. Sabrina the Weather girl returns for more updates. Mikey plays Red after his testimony.

Sooners Fan described stepping into habanero sauce, ripping up his toenail, and enduring an ER injection under the nail while Mikey and the crew recoiled. Mikey, Woods, Lauren O'Brien, and Sienna tracked the iPhone 4 and BP crises, then argued over Arizona's immigration law, the Mel Gibson tapes, and whether a teenager should trade her car fund for a nose job. Eskimo Blue Waters unveiled “ropra,” Sienna admitted waking Todd because pregnancy insomnia felt unfair, and Mikey, Woods, and Jay confessed stories about being the cashless friend. Mikey ended with his most serious story: childhood sexual abuse and low self-worth fed his alcoholism, Rebecca cried with relief when he chose rehab, and he said faith in Jesus Christ replaced his hopelessness.
What happened, in order
Habanero Toenail Torture
Sooners Fan described slipping in habanero sauce, tearing up his big toenail, and needing four corpsmen to hold him while an ER doctor injected anesthetic beneath the nail.
Apple's iPhone Crisis
Mikey and the crew debated whether Apple's surprise iPhone 4 press conference would bring an apology, a costly recall, a Verizon announcement, or a software-and-bumper fix for the antenna failure.
The BP Cap Holds
After BP stopped the Gulf well for the first time in 86 days, Mikey argued that even a temporary halt deserved relief while Lauren O'Brien and listeners stressed the destruction, delay, and uncertainty over whether the c
Arizona Immigration Clash
Woods objected to racial profiling under Arizona's immigration law, Lauren O'Brien said the enforcement standards made little sense, and Mikey argued that illegal entry still mattered and noted Mexico's harsher rules.
Inside the Mel Gibson Tapes
The crew reviewed the latest Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva recording and debated whether its gaps and unusually professional sound showed a planned setup even though Gibson's words remained indefensible.
Eskimo Invents Ropra
Eskimo Blue Waters performed the Black Eyed Peas' “My Humps” as an opera-and-rap fusion she called “ropra,” leaving Mikey and the crew alternately baffled, mocking, and half-serious about Auto-Tune.
Car Fund or Nose Job
A 16-year-old listener wanted to spend her car fund on a nose job, prompting Mikey to defend teaching lasting self-worth while Woods and callers raised bullying and corrective surgery as reasons a parent might agree.
Pregnancy Misery Loves Company
Sienna admitted waking Todd because pregnancy insomnia made his easy sleep feel unfair, and callers followed with stories of hormonal breakdowns, barbecue obsessions, and extreme late-night food runs.
The Cashless Friend
Mikey, Woods, and Jay confessed how they once let friends bankroll nights out, including Woods being embarrassed by wealthy Frank and Mikey being bluntly told by his brother Steve to grow out of chronic broke-friend beha
Mikey's Recovery Testimony
Mikey connected childhood sexual abuse and lifelong low self-worth to severe alcoholism, recalled Rebecca's relief when he chose rehab, and said faith in Jesus Christ gave him hope and began changing his life.

KBCT San Diego, Lincoln Financial Media Station, the new home of The Mikey Show. This is FM 94.9. Everybody on a Friday with a live studio. How do you feel? Good. Welcome to the program. Let's open the phone lines for you. 570-1949. It is 6 a.m. straight up. And we're looking for your phone calls right now. You can call us about anything that's going on. Just do it right now. 570-1949 or text 949mikey at gmail.com. There are five people on the Mikey Show. Six, if you count our phone screener, Chris. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show. Today I have on a t-shirt from my junior high. It's as retro as it gets. I was going to ask you about that. It's from my junior high school. You were a star athlete at Brownell, weren't you? No, I was not. By athlete, you mean...
Cafeteria food? Star athlete. Absolutely star athlete. You downed some sloppy joes. I did. I killed me some tater tots. Tater tots were big in elementary school, weren't they? Corn dogs. Corn dogs. Delicious. Pizza? Cafeteria pizza? Awful pizza. There's nothing worse. It's like a slice of Wonder Bread. Yeah. With tomato sauce on it and, you know, grated cheese. Awful grated cheese out of a bag. Yep. There's no bad pizza, you guys. Pizza school. You know what? Sienna just said that. I've always agreed with that. It's like there's no bad pizza, right? Wait a second. What about elementary school pizza? It's not good, but it's not bad. Oh, it's bad. It was my favorite day of all the food. Are you serious? At school, though, it was my favorite day of all the bad food. You didn't think that that tomato sauce was gross? It was. You've got a little higher standards than the rest of you. No, man. But compared to like meatloaf and like soggy string beans. There ain't nothing right about elementary school vegetables. No, nothing. I never had a cafeteria. You didn't?
At La Jolla? No, Mike. We actually had Jack from Jack in the Box flipping burgers. A sushi bar. There was a sushi bar. Sushi bar. Not a big deal. You guys didn't have a sushi bar? Yeah. You guys didn't have a foie gras bar in elementary school? No, we had hot lunch like once every two weeks or something where they brought in like Pizza Hut. Pizza Hut. So did you have to bring stuff in? Yeah, my mom made a lunch. You could order lunch from... You were like Claire in the breakfast club. You were Claire in the breakfast club. Brought out your bento box. I kind of was, yeah. She's like, sometimes it was so bad we would get lobster out of season. It was terrible. Sometimes they'd never devein the shrimp. I was furious. Sometimes we had to shock our own. We had to shock our own muscles. It was awful. I was like, come on. I want this ready to go. Come on, man. I don't have much time. My brother, they built a new school in my hometown. And I went to Grapevine High, and they built this new school in Colleyville. And he had a freaking Taco Bell.
In his high school. Oh, dude, I think that's the deal now. At high schools, they do. They sell stuff like that. High schools now, that's what you got. You got fast food on the place. It's like a food court. That's no good, though. I'm surprised. It's pretty rad, though. It's pretty awesome. I'm surprised that Terminator hasn't done something about that. I know. Because you would think he would be like, I don't want fat kids. I don't want to eat in there. Fat food to the fat meat. In high school, though, you're going to eat whatever you want. Oh, yeah. You know, the parents really can't control that anymore. We were able to drive off campus, which they stopped the year after my senior class because kids wouldn't come back. Like me, wouldn't come back. We'd leave, go to lunch. We wouldn't come back. I would have loved to be able to do that. You couldn't? You had to stay on campus? Well, I mean, I physically could. I wasn't allowed. Oh, you're allowed. But you didn't. I did it. You were not allowed? We weren't allowed. You were supposed to stay on campus. Did you cheat and go off campus? Sometimes. How were you guys able to get back with the food or did you eat? Eat it there and then come back and be like, I just got something out of my car. Yeah. Did you ever heard of zero hour? We had zero hour our senior year in high school, meaning regular class started at eight. Well, if you went when you're a senior, you're eligible for zero hour, which started at seven, which got you out. We got out at noon.
I was done. Senior year in high school, my day ended at noon. When do most kids get out of school? I don't even know. Two-ish. Two. And when you're a senior, like two, and, you know, earlier grades, like three, 3.30. Oh, for us, it was the same for everyone. When's it start school? Eight? Eight, 8.30. Eight to two? We went in at seven and got out at noon. Not a bad day. My senior year, we started with all the other grades, freshmen, sophomore, junior. But I got out after fourth period, and I had two periods of auto shop. Really? Are you serious? Just working on Jags. I told you guys. I was a really good student. It's in school. They get an hour lunch on Wednesdays. Yeah. They get to go off campus and they go anywhere they want. Well, that makes sense why we saw him in Kehlani's. That's right. And he was so embarrassed. That's right. Jason. Hey, how do you think all the dudes in auto shop felt about this one? Oh, yeah. Being in there with him. I dropped a wrench. Pick it up. Yeah. I was in auto shop. Like I said, two periods my senior year. And then I was in it three years, though. The teacher loved me. I was first period and fourth period. So I would come in at the end of the period, take attendance. And then go. He had me take it. And then I would leave when it started, fourth period. And he would only let me park my car in auto shop because at La Jolla High, there's no parking lot. Of course there isn't. Yeah, it's ballet. It's ballet only. No, you had to.
It was miserable. It's so great. It's so great. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show. Woodsy is our sports guy, L.O.B., Lauren O'Brien. She is our assistant producer. Sienna is our news girl. And Jay is our producer. Went and worked out yesterday very psychosomatically. What I mean by that is I convince myself in my head that I'm worse, that I'm ill. No. I do. I do. You know, now that I know that I have to have surgery, you know, sometime next month, now when I go to work out, it's like there's an issue. I'm so weak. Yeah. I'm like, oh, ow. I don't blame you. The day before, I didn't know I needed surgery, and I was like, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh. Yeah, if I were you, too, I'd be like, yeah, I guess I don't really need to work out because I'm going to have to take a break soon anyway when I have the surgery. So I'd give myself whatever excuse to get out of it. Yeah, well. You know what I heard? What? Somebody wrote me last night because I'm getting LASIK done today. Yeah. Somebody wrote me and said, dude, you know you can't lift weights.
Oh. And I go, why? And he goes, because you're straining on your eye. Oh, my gosh. Dude. I'm like, you know what I have? Thank goodness that person wrote Woods. Because if he hadn't, nah, they probably tell you. Don't you think the doctor would do it? They'll tell you. But it's not on any of my lists. They'll tell you. And maybe that person's crazy. No, no, no. They're not crazy. I had the LASIK done. And they do tell you, don't lift. Yeah. What am I going to do? I just started this stupid thing. I'm going to have to start over. You can do calisthenics and stuff. You just can't lift. Yeah. What did you do yesterday? Yoga. How was it? Terrible. P90X. Yeah, P90X yoga. I've never done yoga. I'm not flexible, dude. It's really hard. I have a whole new appreciation for those gay guys that do yoga. It's really, really hard. They have you doing the splits? No, I can't do the splits. First pose? Yeah. Ready? Yeah, go ahead. You're going to love this. Check you out. I'll describe it. Oh, look. Woods is putting his hands up in the air. Oh, and then he's... And bending down. That's as far as I can go, and he wanted me to put my hands on the floor. On the floor flat. Which would be downward facing dog. Like touching your toes but laying your hands on the floor next to your feet. Standing. What normal guy can be? Of course you can. You're a woman. I don't know if I can do it now. Okay. Hey, dudes. Wait, wait, wait. Stop, guys. Hang on. How many guys are there? One, two, three, four, five. Five men in the studio. Can any of you guys bend over and put your palms flat on the floor? No. Straight legs.
I can't do that, Jake. That was the first pose on the thing. I'm like, oh, this is going to be a long afternoon. I can do it. And I'm like, can you just go as far as you can? You don't have to touch the floor. Oh, my God. Oh, my gosh. Sienna. She's pregnant. She could do it. Dangle. Can you do it? I'm not going to play. You're not? No. How come? Can't you play in a way that nobody can see things? No. We're going to see the audience. Yeah, I got it. I can see you right now in the kitchen bending over a hot stove. That's true. But I can't see the stove. I can see you right now in the kitchen. Really? I'm wearing a dress now that I think about it. Yeah. It was awful. There's a lot of guys with giant smiles on their faces. Do it again. Do it again. Wait, I didn't see. Are you sure that your legs straight? Let's see. We have M1 Sooners fan on the line from San Diego. What's up, Sooners fan? Man, how you doing, Mikey? Pretty good, dude. What's going on? Man, you know, I just had to call and tell you all about this injury that I've induced myself through. My son knocked some habanero sauce off my kitchen counter, and I, of course, didn't know that. So when I walked up on it, I slid in it, and it jammed my big toe under my cabinet. But that wasn't enough.
the cabinet caught my big toenail and lifted it up. So when I splashed through this habanero sauce, it got under the toenail. Worst case scenario. I took about six hours of the pain before I finally just went ahead and went to the emergency room with this thing. You know what? You know what? The North Vietnamese didn't do that. That's torture. That's torture. That is... Oh, my goodness. Oh, my goodness. That is so horrific. It only gets worse, Mike. Oh, no. Oh, my God. I don't know if I can do it. So when they go to... Wait, wait, wait. Let me give you the right music. I got to give you some really cool music for this. Hang on. Go ahead. Oh, my gosh. So as they go to numb... Numb, numb, numb, numb, numb, numb, numb, numb. Yeah, they realized they weren't able to get the tip numb. What's that? What's that? The tip of your toe? The tip of my big toe. The tip. I thought you said the pit. Now, so they took the needle, and they told me this was going to be the worst part, but they shot it under my big toenail and the tip of my toe. Oh, my God.
And if you can hear my voice kind of off, that is actually from the banshee scream that I let out. This was three days ago. Were you in the ER? In the ER, yeah. Oh, wow. You know what? Let me tell you something. Let me tell you something, Sooners fan. The way that you know that it's going to be bad is when a hospital attendant looks you in the eye and says, I need to let you know. That this is going to hurt. Oh, my gosh. They actually not only warned me, they brought in four corpsmen to hold me when they gave me this shot. And it took all four of them. Holy cow. Oh, my gosh. How old is your son? Oh, he's five. He's still alive, too. I was going to say, if he's a teenager, he's gone. He's dead man, yeah. Moving out. And the family, of course, through this entire thing, including right after. It just felt like it was hilarious. Oh, my gosh. All three kids, no idea. Hey, Boomer Sooner, look on the bright side. There isn't a bright side. There's no bright side. There's no bright side. He'll laugh about it one day. He'll laugh about it in 15 years. It's a great story. Remember when I got habanero juice in my nail? Yeah. It was ripped off, and I had to shoot a needle into my toe in my nail? Good times. Are you going to be able to use habanero sauce again?
You know what? I was able to taste it right after that. It actually got into my system. I don't think I'm going to want it for a while. No way. Dude. Ew. You know that doesn't happen to you? People in the kitchen. The guy that doesn't eat habanero sauce, dude. That's what it doesn't happen to you. Habanero sauce tastes good. Hey, Boomer Sooner, why did they have to shoot you up anyway? What was that about? Well, the... the numbing agent you know because at the point that they're doing all this they're grabbing onto my toe like it's you know just the habanero they haven't even realized yet that it's broken okay I'm now nauseous. That one took some air out of me. And, Mikey, I've got to tell you, as you've shared with us, I, too, am a recovering alcoholic. So I tried to do this with no pain medication. You are a daredevil. You know what you are? You're an extreme Olympian. That's what you are. I'm that woman who thinks that they want natural childbirth. Yeah. So they get there. That's right. Hey, Boomer Sooner, thank you for the call, man. Good to hear your voice, bro. We'll see you.
A few things to talk about. Oh, wow. Got to get past that one. Yeah, my butt just clenched. Oh, man. That is heavy stuff. I love those stories, though. I do not. I don't. Take a listen to this, ladies and gentlemen. Well, all over the country today, there were huge lines at Apple stores for that iPhone. Not to buy them, to return them. Yeah. Well, apparently Apple is addressing problems with the iPhone. Pretty good. From now on, if you buy an iPhone, they throw in a Verizon Blackberry so you can make a call. Whatever. Zing. Whatever. That's hysterical. Oh, my gosh. Well, Mikey, you'll be really excited to know that Apple is going to be doing a press conference this morning. Here's the significance, okay? Here's the significance. Apple only holds press conferences when they have a new product. It's the only time they hold a press conference. Yeah. So it's pretty significant that they're holding a press conference. One of two things is going to happen. This is what they're saying. Either they're going to say to the world, we messed up. Sorry. Which is a big deal. Yeah. I mean, billions, not millions of dollars. Billions and billions. To have people to fix this. Okay. If that's the deal. Yeah.
But they also, they say, might be calling this press conference to say, we're going to Verizon. Speculation is that it's going to be the problems. Everyone's freaking out. Me too, man. I'll get one this weekend. Oh, if they go to Verizon? It wouldn't be until January. They'd say in January. It's called sarcasm, folks. You know what? I think there's also significance to it being at 10 a.m. Why? I think that they avoid, first of all, they avoid the Today Show. They do it on a Friday. Wow, smart. They avoid the Today Show. They avoid Good Morning America. They avoid CBS This Morning. They avoid every morning show, Yahoo, like myself, in the country. That's why, that's a good publicist, okay? That's why Jessica Simpson, when she was getting divorced with Nick Lachey, they made the announcement on... The day before Thanksgiving. And what it does is it takes the legs out of the press. People don't really get a chance to get. And by the time everybody's back, it's old news. And so you still have it, but it's just not as. And so it's a Friday. People are going into the weekend. If it's that we screwed up and we have to recall, it's one p.m. in New York on the East Coast. And so they.
Do have to deal with that. But for the West Coasters, we're already out of the Today Show and they're already out of the Today Show on the East Coast, all that. Part of me is so sad about the antenna thing, but part of me is also relieved because I'm like, I don't need to worry about getting it right now. And I'm leaning towards them saying that they made a mistake because I ordered an iPhone last week and they said it would take a few days. I haven't gotten an email saying it's in. And my guess is the reason why is because Apple said, stop selling them. I bet you you'll get somebody else's used one that doesn't work. That's probably what they'll do. Or a new one that doesn't work. Don't even say that. Probably a used one. I bet you Mikey has been leaning out the window looking for the mailman every day. No, no, no. Email. Email. They said an email that he has to go to the store. Refresh. Refresh. Refresh. Refresh. Refresh. Refresh. Every day I've been going, is it here yet? I bet it's a used one. I even look in my junk mail. With fingerprints on it. You're looking in your spam. Yeah, I'm looking at my spam. Just in case. Yeah, I see. You never know. Just to see. Yeah, and one of the things that they said was a fix for it. There is an easy fix for it. The fix is either duct tape or another fix is that you put something called a bumper on it. Most people have bumpers on their phones. It's just something that you buy at a store that you put around your cell phone to protect it. But the speculation with that was Apple wouldn't do that.
Because it would make them look really stupid. We put out our our flagship product and you have to buy something to make it work, which makes them look bad. The other deal is this was kind of funny. Do you see the Microsoft thing? No. Microsoft releases a statement just to be D's. Yeah. And they say the Microsoft statement says it appears that. The Macintosh iPhone 4 is Microsoft's version of Vista, which doesn't bother us at all. And I said to Rebecca, I go, you know what's interesting about that statement is that it's admitting that Vista was a turd. Yeah. And she said they did already. And I said they did. And she said, yeah, they've publicly acknowledged that Vista was a mistake. It was. I don't know if anybody even remembers. I don't even know what it is. Microsoft released a new.
version of their operating system called Vista. And I remember when it was coming out, it was a big thing, big thing. And apparently it was horrible to the point where Mac had these new commercials with the Mac guy, the cool Mac guy, Justin Long, talking to the nerdy PC guy. And he was like, how come you don't work? You know, that kind of deal. Wow. They'll probably make a commercial now. Because they have a lookalike, by the way. Did you know that? No, it looks like Justin Long. They have a Justin Long lookalike, and they have a PC guy lookalike. Macintosh is actually used in commercials to make fun of Mac. And what they do is they turn it around. That's hysterical. Can they do that, though? Yeah, they can do it because they're able to get around it by where they release it, what medium they release it to. I saw it virally, but it was very expensive and highly produced. You know what it is. It's guerrilla marketing. And it's effective. So anyway, I sure hope that when they make that announcement today, that's not what it is. But I think it is. Well, at first, Apple tried to say, too, like, oh, all other phones of all other companies have problems like that. Reception problems. And the consumer reporting agency is like, we didn't find it with anything else except new iPhone. Yeah. Yeah. Well, it stinks because I love the products. I think they're great products.
I think this iPhone, even this one, because what's so funny is there's so many people that don't have any issues, but there's people that do. Are there so many people that don't? Yeah. I mean, they were talking about, I was reading about it yesterday on websites that beat up everybody. That's their whole thing. They just beat everybody up. Seven whole people that are not having any problems at all. It's probably people that have those bumpers. Yeah, and they work at Apple. Do you have a new one? Have you had problems? No. Can I see your iPhone for a minute? It sounds like somebody's iPhone is ringing. I thought we were having a fire alarm. I was like, dude, we got to evacuate. What are you doing? Okay, I'm holding her iPhone in my hand, which is really nice. And they say that the problem comes from the bottom portion of the iPhone. I bet there's no problem. Really? Everybody's just making it up. You're so jealous right now. I am. M1 Papa Driss from Oceanside. Do you mind if I keep that? Go ahead, Papa Driss. Good morning, Mikey. Morning. I've been keeping pretty close tabs on this whole situation. I've been an iPhone user since the first generation. And I just recently got into Apple products because all my friends have told me how good their customer service is. And I do still believe that it's a software issue because when you hold the antenna, you're not.
grounding the antenna. You're just shorting the antenna out between the Wi-Fi antenna and the GSM antenna. Wait a minute. Hang on a second, Papa Driz. Woodsy is holding his hand up in the traditional Vulcan greeting. Droid. Which is to say, greetings, nerd. Now, I understand what you're saying, but unfortunately, many, many people do not. But that's okay. I can explain it in layman's terms. I can explain it for you if you want. Go ahead. Layman's terms. On the iPhone, you have two separate antennas. On the top left corner, you have the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth antenna for connecting to wireless network and your Bluetooth headset. From the bottom left corner all the way around to the top right corner is the antenna that connects you to the cellular network. And so when you hold the phone in your palm in your left hand, it shorts those two antennas together.
I believe, and I've been keeping tabs on this pretty closely, and I have faith in Steve Jobs because he's a genius, that it's a software issue between the way that it interprets the grounding. You know what that means then? All they do is they go, hey, we're going to issue a new thing, download it, you're good to go. In my opinion, that's what they're going to do, but they are in the process of making it. All right. Hey, Papa Juice, Papa Juice, I got to move on, man, because I got to move on. Thank you for the call. I appreciate it. That actually made a lot of sense the way you explained it. That's true. You know. The other big news was from BP yesterday, which I was really, really excited about. I got a CNN alert. Yeah. And they only send me those when something really big has happened. And what was it? Well, for the first time since April 20th, 86 days later, there is no. Oil gushing out of the well. Now, this is all because of the new cap that they put on on Monday and after tests that they did on Wednesday. They finally shut off the leak entirely yesterday. The official time of the choke being fully closed, which meant the well was fully shut in, is approximately 225 this afternoon. And as of that time, there is no flow of oil going into the Gulf of Mexico.
That's the vice president of BP. However, they're not declaring victory yet because they need to wait 48 hours, which is the most critical time, just to make sure the cap's going to hold everything in and that the seafloor doesn't crack. Really? Because they're holding in a lot of oil. A lot of pressure. It's pretty crazy. And the relief wells are still going to be drilled. They're still planning on being done by mid-August, which is great. But this is, you know, so far it's a sign. It's in the right direction. Well, sure. When you see live pictures of that well and it doesn't look like a chimney and it's just ocean, that's kind of... That's cool. That's a good feeling. It's a good feeling. There's a lot of people that are very skeptical. Well, that's what I want to ask you about. That's what I want to ask you about. And specifically you, L.O.B. You're a cynic. I am a cynic. You are a cynic. Maybe you weren't cynical about this. But did you guys see my post on our Facebook page where I said, hey, this is great. They plug this thing up. I go, oh, no, Mikey. I thought you might have jumped the gun a little bit. On our fan page? Yeah. The one that's like, no, there's no more oil. Hey, listen. Even I considered that. But all I was reacting to is.
At this moment, here's the news. There's no oil leaking into the ocean. And that's the first time we've been able to say that. Right, which even if it's temporary, it is a small victory. If it was for five minutes, there's no oil in the ocean right now. For five minutes, yeah. For five minutes, okay? Anyway, what I was so surprised about was the reaction that my post got. Because a lot of people reacted going, screw BP and, you know, they're a bunch. And I was like, hmm. I was just, if anything, I was confused. I genuinely wanted to go, how come you're not, I mean, yeah, BP sucks. I get it. I understand. But you're not stoked? Because really people were like, they're monsters, blah, blah, blah. And I was like, this is so strange. I think they just didn't want to give them a pat on the back because. That was their that was their duty. They had to fix it. So that's what I guess that is the deal. And I understand that, except for the fact that I never said, you guys, let's all stand up and applaud, you know, British Petroleum for their wonderful efforts. It was like, hey, guys, there's no oil spewing into the ocean. Who gives poop?
Who did it? Yeah. You know what I mean? Somebody fixed it. It's fixed for now. It's stopped. It's stopped. There's a lot of people in the Gulf area that are like, yeah, for now. Let's see. Let's see if it sticks. And I think there's been so much destruction and industry basically killed. And the fact it took so long to make a cap. 86 days. I think there's some relief being felt of good. Good that it's not flowing right now as we speak. Great. You already ruined everything. And is it going to last? If I had the flu and I was getting sick every hour on the hour and suddenly I stopped, I think it would be really odd to say, yeah, well, let's see if you stop throwing up. What? Hey, I just stopped throwing up for the first time in months. I just quit throwing up. It's good to be positive, you know? Let's try and be positive and optimistic about it, and hopefully it will work. We have news on the Stingrays that have been coming to San Diego. I don't know if you knew. I just got reminded of the worst haircut ever that I had. I forgot about. I had the rat tail. On FM 94.9. We talked about it yesterday. The fact that there's a bunch of stingrays that are swimming off the coast of San Diego. We have some.
Fish experts in here that have lived here for a long time. Sienna, Jay, and L.O.B. goes in the water a lot. You guys said warm water. Right? They like it warm. They like it warm. They do. So what's the deal? Well, we reported yesterday on it. 20 people stung on Wednesday at La Jolla Shores. Oh, wow. 30 people stung Thursday. 25 people stung yesterday. Oh, no way. At least. Why are people still going in the water? Because it's the water. Because it's San Diego. It's an amazing thing. I know, but if, oh, they don't know. That must be it. It must be that they don't know. Yeah, because if you knew, if you knew, why would you go in? You wouldn't surf La Jolla Shores, though. Well, there were 30 people reported being stung at other beaches in San Diego. Is that where it is mostly, La Jolla Shores? No, I mean. It's all over. That was a big one, though. That one, I've known my entire life, you really need to shuffle there because they hang out there. You did it.
And it's warm. Yeah, Black's Beach all along there. Oh, so I can't go to Black's like I would normally do. With your laptop? With my laptop. Is that a bit or is that real? Black's Beach? Yes. The nudity? No, it's a nude beach. Oh, that's for real. It's a nude beach. And actually, the truth. Not officially. Yeah, yeah, yeah. In fact, I was watching an episode of, what is it? Beach Patrol, I think is the name of the show. Yeah, in San Diego. That they film in San Diego. It's called Beach Patrol. And they showed black speech. They had to digitize the people's privates out. And they show the lifeguard walk up to them and say, you know that this is not a nude beach. And they were like. They just pretend they can't speak English. Yeah. That's what this girl did. Really? Yeah. I would do that. Oh, my gosh. I wonder if that's like the bit that what people do. Because that's what this girl did. Because in a lot of like European areas, that's just normal. So if you're just like. Ma'am, we're going to have to write you a ticket. Why don't you write me a ticket? I don't need that ticket. Are you really from Germany, sir? Yes, absolutely. Really? Great. You're wearing a baseball cap that says the New York Yankees. Everybody loves the Yankees, Michael. It's a worldwide team. Okay. Well, I know that you're not nude, but you are wearing a bathing suit that's shaped like a V. Would you like me to tuck? I'll be happy to tuck if you like. You are. Tuck. Tuck. Would that be a little bit better for you? I thought he said tuck, too.
I said talk, not talk. I wish you had said talk. And you're being inappropriate. Yeah, I know you are. Well, there it is. So more stingrays. On the news, people are being real tough. I mean, they seem to have a good sense of humor about it. It's real funny. They're like puppies. Yeah, don't give me that bit. I've only seen one person get stung my entire time in San Diego. And I'm never going to forget what he yelled. Oh, it's smart. Oh, it's smart. 106 years old? It's smart. Did he have a fedora on? Was your uncle Bing Crosby? He yelled, it's smart. It's smart at the top of his lungs like 30 times. Was he an English person? It's smart. No, he was from here. I think he was from Texas, actually. How old was the gentleman? I don't know, 40? 157? It's smart. Oh, it's smart. Genius. I was like 10 years old, and I'm never going to forget it. Can we please bring that back? Yeah. Wow, that's really smart. Dude, that's smart so bad. Holy cow. My friend is a chick who got stung, and she got stung, and it ripped through her wetsuit and left a scar, and she was surfing. She was like, I think I got stung, but she was tough. She didn't even know it, and then she looked down at her leg, and it was gushing out. I had no idea that that's how rough.
It could be if the barb catches you. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. What if you get stung in the piece? See you later. Don't even think like that. That thing whips up in between your legs and you're toast. It's not that long, that, either. Oh, boy. Which one? Let's everybody just scale it back a little bit and just take it easy. Is it valid concern? Too many visuals right now. Is it? Is it not? Is it not valid? It's valid. You're ridiculous. No, it's not. Really? You're fine. Am I? Yes. Why don't you wear a protective cup into the ocean? Maybe I will. It gets your peace. Yeah. It's wrong of you. Cover the UT today is that there was a big fire yesterday in Mission Valley. Yeah, people could see it driving on the 8. You could see the flames and helicopters dropping water on it. Burned six acres. And it started right over on Camino del Rio South, right south of Interstate 8, about 2.20 p.m. And 20 homes had to be evacuated. A second fire broke out 20 minutes after the first one because of the embers apparently landed somewhere else and some other brush and started another fire. It was crazy. I've never understood how fires get started just because the weather is actually warmer. Now, I understand that means dry. I do understand that.
It's only been warm here two days. We don't know about the Mission Valley fire. They're still trying to find out what started the fire. However, there were a lot of other fires in the county started because of the weather. There was lightning that started it. Because how crazy was the weather last night? Yeah, there was like thunder. Yeah, there was thunder in North County. Yeah, so they're still investigating. Yeah, they're still investigating this Mission Valley fire, but there was 46 drops of water from helicopters that they were getting from the San Diego River. Just nuts. Yeah, Hillary, our midday DJ, said she could see it from the studio. Yeah, just flames and smoke. Wow, that's pretty gnarly. Let's do a little of this right here. Little Woods on Sports. And we got the panel coming up, too. Well, I'm going to get to that Matt Latos story in a second, and it's going to blow your mind. Though it's not the craziest one I've ever heard, but it's pretty crazy. So the Chargers doctor, Dr. Chow, we talked about him a little bit yesterday. Yep. He had basically, he's being investigated by the DEA, and they are looking into him writing a lot of prescriptions to himself. About 108 prescriptions were written to him, from him. And so one thing they said is maybe he's just stockpiling his office, but that's illegal. You can't do that.
But what they did come out and say is we have no reason to believe he's taking these himself. So he's not an addict. He's not writing prescriptions for morphine because he loves opiates. He's doing it presumably. So they could give them to people. Absolutely. Yeah. Which I would think, in addition to being illegal because you're a doctor, would also be illegal because you're now a drug dealer. Well, and you can't give other people your prescription. Like, Woods couldn't give me his prescription. Oh, that's another charge. That's another thing. A whole lot. So he has denied the allegations and says he will continue to treat injuries just like normal. You think he's worried, though? You think he's vomiting in his hands every morning? Oh, my gosh. I'm sure. You know who doesn't get worried? Yeah, exactly. The guy that doesn't do that crazy stuff. So Padres ace, Matt Latos, the guy's been by far the best pitcher on the Padres staff. He's going on the DL. And you know why he's going on the DL? Because he stifled a sneeze and he hurt his ribs. Wait a minute. Wait. That is legit. No, it's totally legit. I've done that coughing. I haven't broken ribs or anything, but I've hurt my back before. Do you stifle a sneeze because you're embarrassed? Well, they said he was walking down the stairs at Coors Field. I guess he was walking out into the dugout or whatever, and he goes... And...
He goes, I don't know what it is, but it hurts and it's close to my ribs. So he's on the DL. He's on the 15 day DL. That is like hurricane speed winds coming out of your lungs. Just sneeze, bro. Yeah, let it flow. You're in a dugout. Maybe he was in the middle of a conversation. And sometimes it's embarrassing. You're a grown up. Sneeze into your hands and wipe it on your pants like normal people. I think it's so funny how as adults. Sometimes we're embarrassed of our sneeze because some people have those. Me. Jay. Or some people have the fluid that goes everywhere. Some people have embarrassing sounding. Jay does sneeze rather loud. Right, Jay? It scares me. It scares you. It does. It can be a little bit loud. Oh, yeah. And so I can understand. He was trying to, he didn't want to embarrass himself. And, well, he's now in the DL, so that sucks. But he's eligible to get off. They did it retroactively before the All-Star break. So he's eligible to return July 24th. But he's going to miss a couple starts. And that's, hey, that's two wins in the bag right there. Seriously. The way he's been thrown. Don't say that. The British Open continues today. South African Louis Oosthausen has made a charge today in the British. He fired a five under.
Today, he's actually 12-under for the tournament. Yesterday's leader was awesome. 21-year-old Rory McIlroy from Ireland shot a 63. He's 9-under, cut one. Here he is. I didn't get off to a flying start. I was 1-under 3-8 holes, and then the eagle on 9 really sort of turned things around for me, and I just got going from there. So, you know, it was great to get into the rhythm of the round and get into a flow. Yeah, it was just a very pleasant round of golf. Kid looks 12 years old. He really does. That curly hair. The kid was balling yesterday out on the course, though. And Tiger Woods had a really, really good day, too. Guy has not been playing very good golf. But the conditions there have been such that there's not a lot of wind. And like we talked about yesterday with M1 Hawk, my dad, who's the golf king, when there's no wind, that guy can hit for days. And that course is wide open for him. Here's Tiger on his good day yesterday. Cut to. With the conditions we had. you had to go get it. You had to take advantage of it. I felt like I did a pretty good job of that today, and I let the round mature. You know, most of the guys were under early, even though I wasn't. And I said, you know, just let the round mature. Just keep hanging in there and keep plugging along, and, you know, it could have been a pretty good round today. Yeah, he's definitely in contention.
The biggest surprise so far of the British Open, which is, have you seen any of it yet? No, but I can't wait. It's such a cool tournament to watch. John Daly. He's back. He's back. Guy shot a six under yesterday. Was he smoking cigs out on the course? He had Paisley pants on. Really? He looked like a train wreck. I'll show you the picture at the break. A train wreck. Did he have beers out there? No, I think he's sober. Is he? I think he's clean. Was he smoking cigarettes? Always. Okay. I love some glasses. So here he is about being in contention. Cut three. It's great. You know, I'm not out of it. I'm in it. And, you know, even if somebody goes out and shoots, you know, seven or eight under. You know, and that's what you want to do. And I haven't been in this position in a long, long time. But, you know, I feel the game's coming around. And, you know, when I'm hitting my driver the way I am right now, it brings confidence. 700 yards. The guy hits the longest ball. How? How insane is that? I mean, he does things with a golf ball that should not be humanly possible. When he was in his prime and I guess now the way he's hitting the ball. Yeah. Ridiculous. Finally, Mike, so the Miami Heat, they've made a couple offseason moves. If you guys didn't know about it, they got LeBron James, Chris Bosh, and...
retained Dwayne Wade services. And they just added another great piece to their team. Mike Miller, who's a sharpshooter from the Grizzlies, shot 48% from three-point land last year. He's really, really solid. He took less money because he wants to go play because he thinks they're going to have a real shot at winning the championship. So they are filling out their roster right now and kind of interested in seeing what they look like next year, to be honest with you. You know what I heard? Guess who I heard wants to come out of retirement and play for the Heat? Michael Jordan. Dennis Rodman. Penny Hardaway. Anfernee? Yeah, he hasn't played. Anfernee. He hasn't played since 2007. Wow. But, you know, you almost want to say, hey, Penny, you can't just have a ring. Yeah, you can't just have one. You're not just allowed to have one. Like, you can't just go, hey, can I have a ring? Like, Dan Marino goes and plays with a Patriots in the Super Bowl. Yeah, he's like, hey, can you put me on the roster so that I can get, you know what I mean? Like, no. It's one of those things. It's like.
Okay, great. Who wouldn't want to go play for the Heat? You know what I mean? Yeah. That's Woods on Sports, buddy. 5701-949 is our number. You can give us a call if you'd like. Love to talk to you, or you can text us. 949mikey at gmail.com. The panel is what's happening in the news right now, and we will give you our opinions on it. Me, Woodsy, and Lauren O'Brien. First is the weather. Now, the reason that I... thought it was interesting is because of how kooky it is. Okay. Now I'm going to throw this really strange theory out there and I'm going to see what you think of it. And I mean, it's whacked out like Al Gore. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, is it, and I don't know anything about anything. That's what makes this fun. It's the ravings of a madman, but follow me on this one. What if, The oil that's leaking into the Gulf is taken up into the atmosphere and rain comes down. Lauren's about to leave the studio. Taken up into the atmosphere and screws everything up because our ecosystem is off. Woods. Sounds pretty plausible to me, dude. What do I know? I don't know anything. How'd the Yankees do last night? They didn't play. They played tonight. I don't know anything about weather. Okay, fine. All I know is the weather here was not as promised.
And that's all I'm going to say about that. See, and I think that our... I'll save it. L-O-B? I'm sorry. Tell me the theory again. Okay. My theory is that we're experiencing weird weather and that weird weather is being experienced across the world because of the oil spill. She's about to fillet you. L-O-B. No. No? I don't think so. Not yet. No. Not yet. Not yet, if ever, I should say. I mean, I'm from the East Coast. We have really extreme summers. It'll be hot as... All get up. Bowls. And then all of a sudden there'll be a thunderstorm, and that's just how it goes, and I'm used to that. Well, see, the reason that I think so is I'm like, well, what do we think? It's not going to happen. Isn't it naive to think that we're going to put gajillions of gallons of oil into our oceans, which turns into rain? It's the way it works. And then it's not going to have any effect? No, but you've been spoiled by perfect weather here for the last 15 years. So that when it does get a little bit screwy, you're like, something's got to happen. I thought it was screwy in a lot of places, though. It's screwy in a lot of places. I thought it was. It is, but it was like that. It's weather. This winter before the spill happened. I see your theory. I don't think it's nuts. No? I like it. Now you got me thinking, though, L.O.B. See, I'm usually... What you just said.
is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. Listen. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to that. Okay, listen. Now listen. I know it seems strange, but I'm usually on the yellow beat tip. I'm the guy that goes, oh, please. Cyclical. All this stuff happens, then it doesn't happen. Oh, I mean, it will have a profound effect. Oh, it will. On everything. Need a few more gallons out there? No, I just don't think yet, and I don't think it would... Do you think it was thundering last name because of the oil? I think that it's... What I think is... I'm not laughing, Mike. What I think is, we've been experiencing... No, I did think it was thundering because of the oil. I mean, you never know. I thought all this crazy stuff, like our mildness. I would say possibly, I mean, there's the whole theory on acid rain and everything. I would say possibly, like, yes, that the precipitation that comes down may have some sort of disgusting element to it. I'm not talking about just, I'm just talking about weird weather. I don't know. It's weird. I admit it. It's nuts. It's weird. I agree. Maybe it's nuts. That's the last time I make a lunatic thing about weather. Because I am L.O.B. Speak your mind. It's okay.
Do you know that nine states are backing the Arizona thing with illegal immigrants? So the Arizona law, which takes effect July 29th. We know that President Obama's administration filed a suit in federal court recently to block it, arguing that immigration is a federal issue. Now, nine other states are backing Arizona's immigration law, Alabama, Florida, mainly Michigan, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas and Virginia. And now on the cover of the UT, it says today that there was a poll in California that says 49 percent. of the population is in favor of the Arizona immigration law. 45% opposed to it. No, it means... The majority are for it. Yeah, and the other 6% don't know. They don't have an opinion on it. How many people are... 45% are in favor of it. Is that what you said? 49% are in favor of the...
illegal immigration move 45 percent opposed to it so there's a four percent difference oh wow four percent more are for it oh wow uh what do you think of that woods really i say give us you're tired you're you're poor you're hungry kids is bleeding heart dude i'm i'm a humanist and i think uh if we can i think it's pretty wrong to um Do what they're doing or do what they're talking about doing and singling out people because of the color of their skin and what they look like and what they perceive as to be an illegal immigrant. This has been the toughest thing for me to wrap my head around. L.O.B. It is tough for me to wrap my head around, too, because I'm on the same school of thought as what they do think. I'm all about immigration. And I mean, I wouldn't be here if it didn't happen. But. I've heard some of the arguments on what they're using to profile and now pull somebody over because they suspect, and I still, I just still can't figure it out. Sombrero? Sombrero. No. If they're wearing a sombrero, they pull you over. Mariachis? No, I heard, like, the tape, though, that officers are now given some of the standards that they can use now, and I still am like, I don't get it. I'm Mexican, and I don't really have a...
I don't know. I don't think I, I mean, I haven't heard any compelling evidence yet. The spirit of the law to me is not, you know what? We're doing this because we want to pull over some Mexicans and give them a hard time. That's what we're, I don't see it. Isn't it? No, I don't think it is. I don't think that's the spirit of it. I don't. I just have to say, illegal immigrants. The word illegal is in there. What's wrong with that? We would be pulled over in Mexico if it was reversed. It's ridiculous. Oh, the laws in Mexico for being an illegal immigrant are gnarly. You would never come back to the U.S. Oh, it's so much like if you're illegal in Mexico, forget it. Just go ahead and point your fingers at us, but don't look in the mirror, guys, okay? Yeah. Wow. Well, I'm all about immigration and people should have to go through the process. Yeah, me too. One more real quickly. This one will do very fast. Baskin-Robbins says, what, Sienna? Baskin-Robbins is going to be retiring five flavors. What are they? French vanilla, one of the first flavors launched in 1945. Catherine Hepburn's favorite.
You don't like French vanilla? Who does? Nobody eats French vanilla. I do. Of course I do. French vanilla. Dude, it's delicious. Classic. Disgusting. Really? Okay. Well, maybe Woods must be right because they're getting rid of it. Ooh, French vanilla bean. No, because now Baskin-Robbins steps it up all the time. They have new flavors, so kids want the new ones. All right. Caramel praline cheesecake, which was introduced in 1970. Pralines. A kid would eat that. In a heartbeat. This one sounds really good. Campfire s'mores. It's good. 1975 is when it came around. Apple Pie a la Mode, 1976. Say goodbye to it. And also Super Fudge Truffle, which is the most recent that's going to be retired. It came around in 2007. And the reason they're doing this is just to make room for new flavors. The only reason I brought this up is because I want you to make an argument, Woods, for the best ice cream flavor. Pistachio. I love pistachio. Lauren. I don't have a favorite. I don't need ice cream. It just feels like... Do you not? No, I do. It's just whatever I feel like. I love pistachio ice cream. Pistachio almond. You don't have a favorite flavor? Mm-mm. Mint chocolate chip is the correct answer. Oh, God. It's so good. Yeah, I have three. That's one of mine. Oh, yeah. Rainbow sherbet. Cookies and cream. So delicious. Oh, yeah. Delicious. A forensic audio expert was on Good Morning America, examined the Mel Gibson tapes, and...
tells us what's going on. We have the audio of him breaking it down. Oh, by the way, did you know, today, part five. Oh, boy. Oh, yes. Really? Yeah. Mel Gibson's tapes are now part five. Put the whole thing out. There's going to be like part 87. Yeah, the police academy. It's so stupid. The police academy. It's like police academy. Yeah, it's like Lethal Weapon 5. Yeah. I'm Stacey Cohen, FM 94.9. KBCT San Diego, Lincoln Financial Radio Station. Now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. My name is Mikey.
And I did not graduate from high school. Lauren. I have to admit, I like party in the USA. Woods. I don't like being alone. I don't like going places alone. Sienna. I like Nickelback. And Jay. I'm so tired. On FM 94.9. Welcome back. It's the Mikey Show. There are five people on the Mikey Show. Myself, Woods, Lauren, Sienna, and Jay. And we also have a phone screener named Chris. And you can hear his voice by calling right now. 570-1949 is our number. As usual, I forget things. The Blair Witch Project is done. Yes! No, it is not! Are you serious? I forgot. How did you forget it? Well, I'll tell you. Came in at 2 a.m. Came in at 2 a.m. So, 30 minutes after you woke up. Yes. Yeah. 30 minutes after I woke up. Immediately. I know. I'll show it to you. And I sent it to Jared to post on the website and all that. MikeyShot.com. But it's done. And if you want to see our first movie parody.
We did a movie parody of Footloose, and you can see that at MikeyShow.com. The Mikey Show did that. We're such clowns. It's the most clownish thing I've ever seen in my life. They will make you laugh, though. Will that Blair Witch be up on MikeyShow.com today? Yeah, as soon as Jared gets it and gets it. Maybe we call him. Posted. He'll have it up. I want to see it. Yeah. It's brilliant. He'll deliver. He'll deliver. What did you think when you saw it? I don't even want to say anything. Oh, my God. I don't want to, you know, I don't want to. You don't want to oversell or undersell? Not oversell or undersell. I was there, and I know it's going to be good. It's funny. I know. Oh, it's great. Mel Gibson, part five came out. I don't know what the, what can I tell you the highlights are? The highlights are Mel Gibson says that he doesn't have any, that he doesn't have money, right? Yeah, I haven't heard the audio. He says he doesn't have money. He says that he has spent more than $5 million on Oksana. Wow. Oh, geez. He says, I'll never forgive you. He says, you're mean. He says, your son is a mess. I didn't know she had a son. If you want to hear the audio, it's everywhere. You can go find it. I just don't want to hear it because it creeps me out. It makes me so skeeved out. I'm over it. It's just a lot of the same thing. Yeah.
And I also don't like the way that we're all being manipulated by part five, part six. Better wait. We have more. That makes me feel like a dork, like I'm the pawn. Right. So I don't like that. I have some other news on Mel Gibson, though. Some good news for him is yesterday he had to go to court over the request to see his child, you know, visitation rights. And he has not been stripped of visitation, although Oksana Gregorieva wants him not to see their nine-month-old daughter at all. So he will get to see her. He's going to be able to see her during daytime visits and one overnight a week. Also, Mel Gibson's ex-wife, Robin Gibson, they were married for nearly 30 years. She has his back. She says, Mel never engaged in any physical abuse of any kind towards me during or after our marriage. Mel was a wonderful and loving father. She says that she thinks this is nuts. He wouldn't have done that. Well, there was a forensic psychologist. Don't know if you've ever even heard the term before. Forensic psychologist. And this person was on Good Morning America analyzing the Mel Gibson tapes.
Don't know why it isn't playing. No clue. Why? Because I'm pressing play. Because you're doing it. Yeah. You've been doing a good job recently. I don't know what's going on with this thing. Let's try again. You examined these tapes closely, and what were you able to determine, Arlo? Well, in the tapes themselves, there are several things that would raise a red flag as an expert. I found gaps, transients, and fades. All three of these things would be... considered in authenticating the audio itself. I got to say, Arlo, one thing that jumped out with so many of our viewers, and they just peppered our message board, our shout-out board, the clarity of her voice compared to... The guy's like, what's a shout-out? Hola! ... compared to Mel Gibson's voice. What else did you pick up on? Well, you know, that's a good point, because I believe these are professionally done. I think she had help.
She clearly was speaking into what we would consider a large diaphragm microphone. So her voice is very... For those of you that don't know what that is, that's a professional microphone. I'm speaking into a large diaphragm microphone. Really? Yeah. Wow. It means that it's not like a little... You know how every once in a while, Sienna will record us secretly? Yes, I do know that. I often seem to be the butt of those secret recordings. That's on a little... It's on a little handheld. Handheld recorder, yeah. She went out and bought professional... Expensive. Wow. Microphones. Well-engineered. Sounds great. In fact, the audio in these recordings is extraordinary. Yeah. You know who uses large diaphragm microphones? Whitney Houston and the Boston Philharmonic. So, I mean, that is suspect. So that was her bit, man. She wanted to set him up. That's fine. Looked like an idiot. Hey, maybe she wanted to say, hey, listen, and, you know, you guys have made the point, and it's a good point. Maybe she wanted to show the world, this is the way that I'm treated, and I wanted everybody to know it. Yep. You know? LLB, you said that when they came out, and that's a good point. Well, why doesn't she just say that? Maybe nobody would believe her. Yeah. Maybe nobody would believe her if she said, you know,
And really, what is she going to do? Why doesn't she just say that she recorded him? I don't understand why she's trying to hide it. That's what I want to know. It's like he knows. No, no, no. Oksana, where did these come from? I did not tip them. How did we get it? There was a man inside the house. There was a man inside your house? There was a man inside the house. Wait a minute. Side house. Oksana, how come we hear you so clearly? I didn't speak like clear. old times. I know you do, but that's recorded right next to you. You couldn't have not known about it. Maybe it was a hidden recorder. I don't know these things. I think you're high right now. I think maybe a website. They find something in my house. They found something in your house. They broke into your house. I'm friends with musicians. Maybe they leave microphone in my house. Wait, in your cereal? Where would they have it? Maybe in the cabinet. In the cabinet. Any place. Yeah, while you were talking to Mel. How come it only recorded you in Mel and it didn't record you having a conversation with... I use diaphragms. Now we're getting personal. Don't need to know anything about that. Too much information. Well, anyway, that's the deal. I agree, though. It doesn't matter either way what he was saying was bad. By the way, a little bit later on...
We're going to be playing audio of Lawrence Taylor's wife, Lynette, who went on Larry King Live to defend Lawrence Taylor. Wow. Tell you all about that in just a bit. Every time we say Lawrence Taylor on the show, I think you guys are talking about my, like, seamstress. Lawrence Taylor? Lawrence Taylor. Your seamstress. I don't even have one, but I think you're saying, like, Lawrence. Taylor. Lawrence Taylor. Lawrence Taylor. I did not get that at all. That is so great. Every time. Use someone who hems your pants. It took me a second. Yeah. We're talking about Lawrence Taylor. Two different people. Lawrence Taylor is a different person than Lawrence Taylor. That's great. Every time. I get that whenever someone says CNN. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh. No, CNN. Go ahead and let her end, Woods. Really? Yeah, Eskimo Blue Water's been waiting patiently. Is she smoking inside? Tell her to put that out. Yeah. It's a smokeless cigarette. It is not a smokeless cigarette. Yes, it is. First of all, you smoke cigarettes like they're cigars because you know you can't smoke. You're not, you're...
You try to do it to put off an image, but you don't even really smoke. No, I like the way that it tastes. Do you? Especially clothes. Those are my favorite. If you don't know. Who doesn't? Eskimo Blue Waters is a local entertainer. She's a musician. Yep. She's a ventriloquist. She does all kinds of stuff. I've done stand-up comedy. Stand-up comedy. I read poems. Read poems. She's yodeled. I've yodeled. Yeah. She doesn't get a lot of gigs, but she still likes to come on and talk about the ones that she does get. Well, it's your interpretation of what a lot is. By the way, we found out last week that her real name is Judy Douche. Oh, really? First of all, it's Douche. Second of all... Douche? That was a lifetime ago. It's pronounced Douche. Yeah. She's from La Jolla. From La Jolla. And she is... She's never told us her age, but it turns out she's like 32 years old. She's still trying to make it into show business. I told you that I was a child prodigy, so I'm a couple years younger than you think I am. All right. All right. Well, what we've said was that she wrote me an email. She said she wanted to come on, and she wanted to introduce a new style. A new style, yeah. I mean, honestly, I'm running out of ideas, and I'm not going to be...
I'm not going to be a sheep like all of you. What do you mean you're running out of ideas? Aren't your ideas good ideas? You shouldn't be running out of them. They should all work, you know? Or here's another idea. Maybe perfect one. One. Perfect one. Yeah. Don't half-ass a lot of them. This is what I'm thinking. Mariah Carey wasn't a weightlifter in addition to being a great singer. She was a singer, you know? True story. Yeah. And I think... True story. That is a true story. Thank you. Yeah, it is. I think you guys, I mean, last week... Peanut set me up. Peanut's your dummy, by the way. Yeah, my ventriloquist dummy. She set me up with stupid poker face and made me sing. It was basically a ripoff. Yeah. I'm really embarrassed. Yeah, it was a ripoff. It was a direct ripoff. Yeah. Of poker face. And that was Peanut's fault. And so I figured, I'm just going to start covering things. Because, hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Right? Well, that's one way to look at it. Cover. Well, yeah. I mean, I'm going to be... I'm an artist. I'm a cover artist, but still an artist. Yeah, like a tribute artist. Yeah, it's kind of like a tribute band. Yeah. What are you going to do? It's a fusion style. It hasn't been done since Meat Loaf. Oh my gosh. I don't. What are you about to do? Well, you know Meat Loaf saying big like... Yeah.
Operatic. Yeah. Big voice. And it's going to sell. It's a comeback, and I know it's going to sell. I didn't like Meat Loaf. Oh, I didn't. Yeah. I didn't either. But you're still going to give it a shot. I sold a lot of records. I mean, I don't like Justin Bieber, but he's doing something right. That's right. Eskimo Blue Waters has her cowboy hat on. She's got on the dark glasses. Dreamcatchers. The Dreamcatcher earrings. She loves those things. She's got on the t-shirt. These are made out of real peacock feathers. Yeah, are they? Yes. Why should we believe that they're made out of real peacock feathers? I think she got them at the fair. I do too. Because I saw some at the fair. Yeah. No, I handcrafted these. Did you? When I was on a camping trip in Nepal. Wow. So, put that in your pipe and smoke it. All right. Well, let's hear your new style. What do you got? Okay, I need some water, Jay. Oh, boy. Yeah, right on it. Yeah. I guess I'll just drink out of this canteen here. Yeah, sure. Go ahead. Take a swig. She's going to clear the pipes out. Okay. All right. Let's do this, Eskimo. Oh, wow. There's a little turnout. That was my warm-up. Yeah, let's hear it. Okay. So it's a cover of a well-known song, Black Eyed Pea song.
Okay. Is it a karaoke version? No, no. It's a new style. Oh, fusion. It's a fusion. Oh, my gosh. And it's the song My Humps. Let's hear it. Okay, ready? Yes. What you gonna do? Oh, my gosh. Inside that tree. Oh, my gosh. I'm gonna get you drunk off my home. Is this real life? What's happening? Make sure I kill myself. She even put her hand up in the air. Well, for effect. Yes. That was, that opens up the diagram. You guys, it's called, it's a season of rap music and opera. Ropra. Ropra. And? Yeah. Well. Well, we're here in the Ropra room. And? Mike? Let's see what I thought of that. Everybody? Oh, man. This is a bunch of bull. It was really weird.
Where's Garrett? Garrett's our program director. I'm going to be honest with you. That's weird. I mean, if you walked out on stage looking like that, dark glasses, cowboy hat, cowboy boots, layered necklaces. I'm a rock star. Yeah, you're a rock star. Is Black Eyed Peas really rock? Okay. That's a great question. Okay, so that was popra. Yeah, popra. I can do one more example of it. Do you guys think Beck is a rocker? Yeah, background. Yeah, for sure. I was going to say, that's opera. Yeah, we got a big picture of him in the studio. So I'm going to do one more attempt. Let's hear it. Let's hear it. That one was better. Yeah, it was. It was like Tiny Tim ran into the room. With his ukulele. Yeah, sang and then ran out of the room. It makes my skin crawl. Yeah. Who wouldn't go see that live? Everyone. Everybody. That's like nothing out there. You know what, though? Maybe you get a good producer. You lay it down. Auto-tune it. Auto-tune it. Oh, that's not a bad idea. That's not a bad idea. That is not a bad idea. Maybe we check that out. I'm feeling like...
You guys are on the up and up with me. Yeah. I'm feeling a little bit more support than I did last time. Yeah, well, Sienna said it sounded, the second one sounded better. Thank you, Sienna. You're welcome. And I feel like... What was that? Nothing. Is that Sean, the sound effects guy? Nah! No, you don't. Listen, you know that Sean's not our sound effects guy. That was a dig at Woods because you know that the audience was clamoring for Sean to be on the show. Yeah, he's probably washing his hands somewhere. You know, that's a cheap shot at Sean because Sean happened to be OCD. He happened to have some OCD issues. He was shaving his body. Great guy. He's a good guy. I mean, I think I'm really... I'm breaking ground with this because it's a love of mine. I mean, obviously, rock music has always been a love of mine, and opera. I first fell in love with that when I was in Juvenile Hall. You were never in Juvenile Hall. Yeah, I was. You went to my high school. You went to Lavoie High. And if you notice, I'm not in every yearbook because my sophomore year, I was in Juvenile Hall. Were you? I stole Jules. I was a Jewel Thief. You were a Jewel Thief. You stole Jules' songs. Yeah, you stole her songs. That's kind of Jewel Thief you are. Really?
She looks mad. I had a cellmate. Her name was Helen. Really? She listened to opera, and it was tough growing up in and out of the joint. Was it? Yeah, it was. I don't buy that you were ever in the joint. In fact, we know that you went to La Jolla High. Yeah. Well, try to find myself more yearbook. Okay. You won't find it. Maybe you were sick that day. Yeah, you're a lot older than me. I don't think I can track that one down. Picture day. She was sick. I'm trying to leave it on a high note because you guys are getting under my skin. You gave us a high note. Corporate sellouts. But Mike, if you're willing to, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you guys, the guys over at Apple, for sponsoring my show this weekend. Apple sponsored your show. Yeah. Steve Jobs and Apple. No, not that Apple. Not Apple computers. Apple bakery supply. They aren't actual. sponsored, but my mom knows the couple that owns it. Harry and Michael. Anyway, shout out to them. I need some caffeine. Can I get a Pepsi? Yeah, sure. We'll hook that up for you. Harry and Michael. Yeah, you can let yourself out, right? Right, Eskimo? You know how to let yourself out there, right? Yeah, thanks for the support. Yeah, no problem. That's Eskimo Blue Waters, ladies and gentlemen. Still on the way for us. Still on the way for us.

Looking at some smaller surf today, as we've seen that northwest wind swell kind of fade out, a touch of southwest out there too. One of the big problems this morning, though, is a very low tide, .07 low, right around 7 a.m., so that's literally sucking what little life and swell we have out of it. So expect waves running in that kind of one to two-foot range, ankle knee high, waist-high sets on average. Top spots open to that southwest swell still out in the water. We'll see inconsistent chest-high sets. All spots improving later in the day as the tide fills in. Summer reefs, they've got a couple corners here and there. Not much to really be hanging out there for. Beach breaks look to be a little bit better again as the tide fills in. Don't expect much and expect cold water. That tamps down in the 57 to 62 degree range. Not what you would expect for this time of the year. But, you know, things are all different all over the place, aren't they? So for up-to-the-minute surf reports forecast, go to surpline.com. For everything you need in order to go surf, check out one of South Coast Surfshout's five locations. This surf report is brought to you by Guayaki Herba Mate. And it can only be heard three times daily right here on FM 94.9. This has been the FM 94.9 Authentic Surf Report.
Welcome back. Sienna, what's going on in news? Some exciting news. A girl that was kidnapped seven years ago from a Los Angeles area restaurant. She was taken to Arizona, raised by a couple. She was only one when she was taken. Has now been found at this house. She's about to turn eight, so she doesn't remember her parents. You know, nothing like that because her entire life, basically, she's been living with these people. But she's now been found and reunited with her foster parents that have raised her since, you know, the day she was born. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Yeah, not her birth parents. She was raised by foster parents until she was taken at a restaurant from her foster parents by three women. Her biological aunts, I think they were. Yeah, aunts. Wow. Her actual aunts were the ones that took her? Yeah, two of the aunts were talking to the foster parents, and one of the other ones took her out. And then she was missing for, you know, seven years, and they just found her in Phoenix. Yeah, she's very traumatized, as you can imagine, being almost eight years old and thinking that those were your parents and finding out that they're not. You know, that draws such an amazing moral dilemma. Yes. Blood or foster? Well, not that. That for me. No, to me, it's the whole thing of like, do you do the, obviously the right thing is, this is not your child, but do you jack with the kid's head because all they know.
Is this person for eight years. And she was raised by people who weren't even her aunts. Just a random couple. Yeah. Unrelated. Amber Nicholas is the name of the little girl. I mean, she was just a little one. Because she's going to mess with her head. This is who I think my parents are. How do you think three women are your parents? No, no, no. Then she ended up with another family. What the hell? I don't get it. How was she taken by three aunts and ended up with another family? Okay. They don't really know yet. They're still finding out. Yeah, the three aunts confronted the foster parents because they knew of each other. Right. Because this little girl was only one at the time, and this happened in L.A. at a restaurant. Two of the aunts were talking to the foster parents while one of them grabbed the little girl and left while they were distracted by the other two aunts. So who raised her? Another couple. They don't know the ties. They don't know the ties. Now I understand. And this other couple had two other kids living at the home also. So they're like, wait, who are these kids? So there's a lot of research going on right now. But good news is that she was found because she was kidnapped. The foster parents were her parents. So strange because as a foster parent, you're not an adoptive parent.
And so as a foster parent, you're not even really thinking, I don't think, that the child is going to stay with you forever. You're just a foster parent for now. And the child may. I don't know how it works. I don't either. All I know is that she was kidnapped and for seven years they've been trying to find her and they found her. Unbelievable. Yeah. So that is the good news is that she's been found, you know. The Grim Sleeper suspect, the serial killer, he was attacked in jail. This just came out. It happened last Friday, and there was another inmate that did the attacking, Antonio Rodriguez. Apparently, they were both in an attorney waiting room when the assault happened. The inmate didn't have any handcuffs on, and he knew who Franklin was, the Grim Sleeper. Socked him in the head twice. I mean, yeah, beat him up pretty good. Wow. Woodsy, what's going on in sports? Well, the Chargers physician, Dr. Chow, is under investigation for illegally writing prescriptions to himself. That's going to be an interesting story and seeing how that plays out. Matt Latos, the Padres ace, is going to the DL with sore ribs from a stifled sneeze. And the British Open is underway right now. As of this morning, Louis Usthausen was the leader. But I have a feeling that's going to change today.
Tiger. Tiger is very much in the hunt. Can't wait to watch that this weekend. It's going to be great. So, Woodsy, for people that don't know, what is Lawrence Taylor being accused of? Rape. I think some sort of, like, keeping somebody in captivity or solicitation of a prostitution. All kinds of that. Underage. Underage. Girl was underage. Yeah, dude. It's not. Good. Now, this girl was a runaway who was taken by, well, you know, taken, was in the presence of a pimp who turned her into a prostitute. Correct. And Lawrence Taylor. Made the call. And is in a hotel room with her. Yep. And swears he did not have sex with her. Now, this is Lawrence Taylor's wife, Lynette, on Larry King, talking about it.
What did he tell you what happened so we can clear it up from his end? What did he say to you? The truth. Trust me, I know everything as if I were inside of that room, okay? Everything, every detail, every single word, everything that happened, everything that went on, I know everything. And what can you tell us? That he didn't rape anyone. He didn't have sex with anyone. He didn't call a pimp. He did not go cruising down. Now, let me say what I think is the most interesting about it. The fact is that he was in that room, right? Yep. With a prostitute or underage girl, right? Mm-hmm. And she knows that. Yes. So in order for her to be saying what she's saying, she must have some kind of story, and he must have some kind of story, that is wildly different. Absolutely. Okay. Because how did she get in that room? How did she get to his hotel? It wasn't his. How did she pick? I don't think it was. It was his room. Because it was late. Why were they alone in there? Why were they alone in the room? Yeah, I think it was his hotel. Okay. She came to his hotel. You know, a store where prostitutes hang at. He did not do any of those things. I mean, that is a bold. Oh, yeah. Yeah. A bold assertion.
Just seeing the facts as they lay out, that's a bold assertion. It means you have a story. Dying to know what that story is. Ditto. So she gives a little bit of it here. What was the girl doing in the room? The girl was in the room because she let herself inside of the room. She had a key? See, what a lot of people, what a lot of people, no, no, no. What happened, his friend left, and he left the door propped open because he had been back and forth in the room, in and out of the room, and he forgot to put the, you know, the chain lock thing. He didn't close the door, which is the same way that the police got in. How did she know he was in the room? Great question. By the way, for those people that say, Larry King, he's 150,000 years old, he needs to go, blah, blah, blah. If you didn't know, Larry King's style of interviewing is he doesn't have prep. He doesn't have prep. He doesn't have a bunch of questions laid out in front of him. All he wants to know is who's the person I'm talking to and why are they important right now? And then he just lets his own questions come out. So that's his question. Well, how did she know he was in there to walk in there? Well, pretty much everyone in New York knew that Lawrence was going to be in New York. He was doing an autograph signing session the next day.
You think Lawrence Taylor is big amongst the 16-year-old girl crowd? Huge, right? No way. And he probably posted somewhere where he was staying and what room number and all that. So they probably knew exactly where to find him. Go back to his 60-minute interview. He's explained to you that he and his friends, they were sending hookers to each other's rooms and stuff like that. This was really an extortion prop. Well, then, where's the friend saying... I can clear all this up. Yeah, I did it. I was playing a practical joke on LT. My buddy sent a prostitute to his room because, you know, we all do that. Could he get in trouble if he came forward and said that? I don't know. No. Well, you can't solicit a prostitute. Yeah, maybe that's why he's not. He didn't solicit it for himself. But the friend would say, yeah, yeah, I did something illegal. Remember that time I sent that prostitute to your house? Right. How funny that was. How hysterical. You remember that? He didn't smoke the weed. I bought it. I bought it. And put it in his house. It was a joke. Because I was trying to be funny. Yeah, it was a joke. Sourcing plot that went wrong. Here's the deal. I have to applaud her for standing by her man. Oh, yeah. But what I'm really wondering is, does she believe what she's saying? No, I think she's been eating stupid sandwiches again, dude. You believe that she believes it then?
I mean, I think that she believes it to an extent, but she's doing the finger quote right thing. She's standing by her husband. There's no way. But she's doing more than standing. She's like coming forward. She's on national television. She's speaking with conviction because she's so convinced. Listen, if I'm traveling, okay, and I'm arrested for a 16-year-old prostitute coming in my room, and I say to my wife, babe, here's what happened. I'm picturing this right now. Babe, I know how this sounds, but I got to tell you, Woods sent a hooker to my room because he's a clown. He's a clown. And he sent a hooker to my room. Now, and Rebecca says, how did she get in your room? And I say, because I was so dumb that I left that stupid door. You know how they have those bolt things? The chain. Well, I left it and it kind of propped the door open. And so this girl knew that I was there and she was like, and you know me, I sleep right through that stuff. I slept and then she came in to the room and I was in there. And then the next thing you know, rape charges. It's pretty, it's going to be a pretty easy solution, right? Because LT, if he called for this prostitute, they're going to have a record of it. Period. I mean.
Plain and simple. They're going to be able to look at his phone records and say, oh, yeah, a call was placed from this room or a call was placed from his cell phone to this pimp or this. So hold on a second. So you're saying this is not plausible at all. No, not at all. There's no way that it's now. OK, if this was basically anybody else but Lawrence Taylor or Daryl Strawberry, I may. You can't, though, dude. If you're on a jury, you're not allowed to consider their past. Aren't I? I'm not allowed to, but I'm gonna. I'm sorry, I'm going to. Listen, they're going to find jurors who don't know who Lawrence Taylor is. They're not football fans. I don't know who Lawrence Taylor is. And his past is going to be... They won't even be able to bring it up. They won't even be able to bring up his past. But to the billions of people that know who he is, it's going to be tough to overlook. That's why, in my mind, I'm like... Dude, you called for a hooker. She was underage. Maybe you slept with her. Maybe you didn't. You're still going to get in trouble. You're still going to get in trouble. To me, it sounds like the perfect setup. I mean, you get a guy that's already got a record.
And you go, okay, look, this is how we can get a book deal out of this. There can be all kinds of things. So you hope that he's going to pay up or something? You're saying from the pimp's perspective, he's like, I know where LT's staying. I know where he's staying. We're going to set him up. You're 16. You don't look 16. We're going to set it up. We're going to get in the room. I don't know how. Maybe pay somebody off at the hotel. I mean, anything is possible. It's possible she could be an alien. You know, you never know. Anything is possible. But I'm saying. Knowing this guy's past, dude, and what I know of him, he got called for a hooker. I have a question. You know, when you are in trouble with the law and there's a pending trial and blah, blah, blah, the deal is you can't go on TV and talk about it, right? Right. I've never really heard of somebody going, but I'll let my wife do it. I know. I've never really heard of that. And by the way, I'm not really sure what my point is. I'm not saying, I don't know what my point is. I think that his wife. believes him. Yeah. I fully do because she has his back and most wives, if that was me, I would not want to be interviewed. I would not want to be in the spotlight. That's a terrifying thing and she knows how she's going to come across having his back. People are going to be like, look, she sounds crazy. You know, you're crazy. And she'll look foolish if it came out that he did actually do that. Yeah, exactly. But I think she believes him. I think so too. M1, Dave from El Cajon. Are you there? Dave. Dave's listening to his radio, I think. David?
Dave? Yeah, he is. It's too bad. Kind of interesting point. So good. What was his point? He said that the pimp was in the room also. The whole time? I don't know. I want to talk to Dave about it. I've heard different stuff. I heard he was in the car. I heard he was driving around. Man, I've heard so many different stories. A lot of this will, can get cleared up either way from the phone records. Here's a... More of the interview. The document released said he had admitted to police that he paid $300 to engage in sex, but he thought she was 19. No, wait a minute. What's the difference? What's going on? There's a difference between paid and gave. There's a huge difference. Okay? Anyone who... No, I see. I see. He didn't pay her for services rendered. He gave her money. And we're about to find out why. It's alleged John or whatever. Everyone knows what the price of, you know, everyone knows that that's a high price. Okay. It wasn't about paying anyone anything. It's about giving someone money. It's a big difference. All right. Why did he give her money? Because she sat there telling him about all the problems she had. I thought she was going to say that the pimp strong-armed him and was like, you better pay up. And he was just like, get out, get out. Yeah.
No, she's saying that he did it because he was being charitable. Yeah, he's a regular Robin Hood. No, that's... Always has been. He just happened to have three fresh bills. Yeah, he always has been just a regular, just a good old... I guarantee you, though, those guys carry that kind of money. Yeah. But for him to just sit and listen to her problems, like, that's where it's like, oh, wait a minute. What if? I mean, it's possible. It's not. Is it even possible? Especially if he was sleeping. Because I don't want to feel like a dummy. You know what I mean? Exonerated. Oh, my gosh. I'll take that role. That's fine. All right. Man, it seems crazy, though. Yeah, it does. 570-1949. I got an email for you that's a doozy. This one's a doozy. Tell me how you feel about this, M1s. M1s are Mikey Show listeners, by the way. Mikey, been listening to you for the past two years since my dad has been driving me to school. It's so cool. You got to help me. There are three kids in my family. We've been lucky enough for our parents to put aside a car fund for each of us. Nice. When we turn 16, we get to put that money toward a car of our choice. Sweet. Yeah, sweet. Which would you have loved? Sienna. I turned 16 in June and instead of wanting that money for a car.
I'm trying to convince my parents to let me get a nose job with the money. I know it might sound silly, but I have hated my nose since I was five and a boy once made fun of it. I often cry about it. I absolutely hate it, Mikey. I don't need a car. I don't even care about getting my license because I have plenty of friends that drive. what the money is intended for. If they don't let me, I will start working and saving nonstop. I'm getting a nose job. Can you help me convince my dad? If you were my dad, would you let me use the money for what I really want? Thanks, M1 Spiker. No, I wouldn't. No, I wouldn't. I wouldn't. Why? Because my job as a parent is to tell her the truth.
And the truth is, is that it isn't her nose that makes her beautiful. And I haven't even seen her. I can tell you that it isn't a nose that makes you beautiful. To her it is. I understand that. She's young. But that's not because of the truth. That's because of a lie. And the lie came from the culture. The culture said to her, this is the truth. And she went, I buy it. But that doesn't mean it's true. In fact, the truth is, it's a lie. It's a lie. The truth is, is that her nose is not what makes her beautiful. It's just what the culture's told her and she's believed it. So that's my job as a dad. Now, her deal is that she can save her money. And if she decides to do that, especially after she turns 18, can a kid get surgery? Yeah. They can't. Yeah. Without me? Oh, I thought you were going to say under the age of 18 like that. You have to have parental consent. But your dad's got to sign off. A guardian of some sort. Yeah. Has to sign off. So let's say you're. Your daughter has been working, working her butt off, and she comes to you with the money. She's got the money and says, I need consent. You don't give it to her? No. I wouldn't. No, no, no. Really? No, I absolutely don't. I would say, hey, if you still feel like you need to make this decision when you're 18, I can't stop you. You're not beautiful because of your nose. Exactly. And I would say, hey, by the way, if you were born with genes like Sienna.
where they don't just run in the family, they gallop. They do. It isn't what makes Sienna. What makes Sienna is Sienna. Right. You know what I mean? She said in there, a boy made fun of her once and she still thinks about it all the time. What I was made fun of my entire childhood, like the one thing really was my voice and how it was so raspy and I sounded like the boys. Yeah. And like, look, I'm on the radio now. Look who's laughing now. It's true. No, it's true. I mean, I feel for her, man. I feel for her big time. It's obviously up to the parents what they're going to do with that money that they've set aside for her car. Right. But I feel for this girl, man, as somebody that was picked on and bullied a little bit. Who wasn't picked on? Absolutely. It makes you look unique, too. So many people look alike, but Jennifer Grey. Yep. Ashley Tisdale, or Ashley Simpson even. They fix her nose, and then all of a sudden, hey, you just blend right into the crowd. And that's what they want when they're young like that. They want to just blend it and not stand out. But what you were saying about as the dad, your job is to tell her why that her nose doesn't make her beautiful. Culture tells her why she's beautiful. You're not going to change culture as her father. No, no, no, no. So it's my job to change.
To show her the lie of society? It's my job to show her the truth and the lie. Good luck. Thank you. I need it. I know. I know. I know that. I mean, it's a big haul, man. But my job is to try to teach her the truth and the lie in culture. And my job is also to say, let's give another example. Let's say that my kid was really overweight and was being made fun of at school. That is a health issue. OK, she was born with that nose. The overweight thing, it's a health issue. When I see overweight kids, I have to go, what is the what are the parents role in that? You know what I mean? Let me ask you this. Devil's advocate. You have three beautiful boys and I know them well. But let's say for some reason, Jake's ears outgrow the rest of the size of his head. And he comes home every day in tears. Daddy, daddy, daddy. Everybody's making fun of me. They're calling me Dumbo. There's a surgery. It's $2,500. What they do, they cut it and they pin the ears back. I have a friend who got it when he was 12 or 13. Made all the difference for him. Had confidence. There's no health issue there, but he's coming home every day and he's crying. Daddy, it sucks. They call me Dumbo. They put elephant pictures in my backpack. What do you do? It's $2,500. It's a quick fix. It's not going to hurt him. I have to make the choice of whether or not I am going to instill in him for the rest of his life.
that what he is is about the way that he looks naturally, what he was given naturally. It all has to do with that. And I'm telling him, I want you to know that I'm paying $2,500 to correct you. Yeah, and how long before big noses or big ears are in? It's like if we just try to keep up with what's out there. I mean, you never know. Big butts are cool now. For a while, it was like you had to be like Kate Moss. You know what I mean? And now you have, like, J-Lo, Kim Kardashian. Go downtown and have a rat gnaw that thing off your face. Oh, my God. But, I mean, you can't just follow the societal norms. It's easy to say until your kid comes home in tears every day. Oh, yeah. Dude. And then you're like, dude, for $2,500, I can make my kid happy and make him feel better about himself? I mean. It's kind of like this. I'm probably going to cut that check if that's me. Truly. I get it. No question. And I understand. This is the deal. I have to think beyond today. I got to think about, listen, there was a lot of stuff that my parents did for my own good that at the time didn't make sense. And I had to talk to them about it through tears. It didn't make sense at the time. Now that I'm older, I'm an adult. I have the perspective to be able to look back on it and go, I said to my dad, dad, I remember the worst whooping you ever put on me.
I remember it. It was the belt and it was a good one. Got the belt real good. I got the belt real good from my dad. My dad gave me many opportunities out of that belt. And I remember that before he gave it to me, he was in control, man. My dad didn't whoop me out of anger. I remember exactly what his disposition was like. Calm demeanor. Calm demeanor. Because he gave me a lot of opportunities. And I kept saying no. And I kept lying to his face. And he knew I was lying. And he said, this is going to hurt me a lot more than it's going to hurt you. Which I thought, is it? Maybe you let me beat you with a belt. Yeah, maybe I give you the leather then. And we see if it's going to hurt you. Now, I can tell you now, as a dad, he was right. Absolutely. He was 100% right. And let me tell you, that guy. skinned a smoke wagon that day. Wow. He skinned a smoke wagon. Real good. Oh, I still remember it today like it was yesterday. And he taught me a lesson about lying that never left me. Yep. Never, ever left me. So a lot of times, even though there's tears at the time, as an adult, you go, oh my gosh, am I glad my dad was a man? Am I glad my dad actually did something for my own good that really meant something that changed my character? That's what

Free to play, lots of chances to win. I'm Stacey Cohen, FM 94.9. KBZT San Diego, Lincoln Financial Radio Station. And now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. I don't like feet. Lauren. I worked at Comic-Con. Woods. I eat Omen Joyce by the truckload, dude. Zienna. Oh, I love the bedazzler. And Jay. I have the worst body hair, I gotta tell you. My ears, I'm getting ear hair. I'm getting old man ear hair. On FM 94.9. Oh, wow. Really. Really good food. See you later, diet. Dude. Oh, my gosh. That is good. Oh, man. Really good food. The food is brought in today from a restaurant called Maria Maria, who actually has ties with Carlos Santana. They do some charitable work. And aside from being just great people, the food is delicious.
Man, that's good. It's very quiet in here. You can always tell that the food is good when it's dead quiet. When we ask you to keep the music going so we can keep eating. When it's dead quiet, it means the food is good. It's called Nuevo Mexican. Now, you know me. I'm a foodie. When I take a bite of something and I stop. That's what happened. I took a bite of it and I saw it and I went, ooh, that's good. I just had a duck taco. It was amazing. It's one of those deals where I went, I can tell that whoever put all the ingredients to put this thing together, they knew what they were doing. That is really, really good. And they're right across the street from us, so maybe we make a lunch date. Maybe we make that right. Yes. Yeah, they are. They're located at Hazard Center.
The latest location, 1370 for Z Road. Right here in Mission Valley. Hazard Center. Let's see. Mojito Mondays, 4 p.m. to close. Holler. L-O-B. Taco Tuesdays with $1 tacos. Holler again. All day Wednesday, L-O-B is... Margarita Thursdays. Maybe I go on a bender next week. Seven days a week. And Sangria Sundays. Featuring the legendary sangria for only $3.50. How would Bear Grylls describe this food? Absolutely delicious. Once, while stranded at Hazard Center, I found the most delicious restaurant. It's called... Maria, Maria. That's right. I didn't stutter. I actually said Maria twice. Maria, Maria. What would Neil Diamond say? He would say, this is the most delicious food I've ever had in my entire life. Why doesn't everybody shut up while I eat it because I'm trying to eat? What about tattoo? I would say that you cannot get this kind of food in France.
And it is absolutely delicious. What would our president say? I would say that out of all the Mexican food that I have had, this is the best. Would Bill Clinton like it? I would absolutely like it. How about your nephew? If you were trying to get me in some trouble, dude. Maybe I would like it. Maybe you don't get me in trouble, dude. Can't help it. It's so good. It's so good. 570-1949 is the number. Maria Maria, thank you for coming in. That is good. By the way, we are broadcasting live commercial free on Monday night. The dead weather. Monday night. How great is that? Awesome.
They're going to be simulcasting the show. How great is that, dude? That is really, really cool. You're welcome. That was actually from my appearance on American Idol, which is really great. Still getting used to the stuff. Me too. I love it. Tonight's 8 o'clock album. I don't know, maybe you've heard of a band called ACDC, and the album is Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap. We got a lot of people calling in about the stuff that people are talking about. Today's topic has been surgery. And would you let your kid have plastic surgery? Plastic surgery, more specifically. Cosmetic surgery. M1, Kristen from Carlsbad, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. Go ahead. Hi, so when I was in kindergarten, my parents elected to have plastic surgery on my ears, like you were talking about, to pin them back.
I disagree that it instills that that's a quick fix later in life because now I'm, you know, all grown up. I'm a mom and I lived in Orange County for many years where you're a minority if you don't have implants and Botox. And I don't feel like I need any of that. So I think, you know, it's more about the parenting and less about I think that there are certain circumstances where you can have surgery as a child and not grow up thinking that that's OK for everything else. What was the surgery that your parents elected to have on you specifically? You know, I don't know the exact name, but basically my ears stuck out a little bit and I didn't have that crease, that fold. And so what they did is they pushed them back and gave me that crease that, you know, everyone has kind of towards the back of their ear. Okay. Now, let me say this. If my child were born and let's say that they had some sort of webbing in their hands, okay, where there was a malady. I'm okay with that. I'm okay with a malady being corrected. What I'm not okay with is, hey, mom, I want to have bigger boobs. Hey, mom, I want to have silicone injections. Nose, to me, is different than boobs, I think, though. Really? Yeah. If it's a deviated septum, that's more like, okay, there's a reason that needs to be fixed. And I don't think that this...
kid's nose is a malady. If this girl had a crease, there was no crease in the back of her ear. I don't know what that means. Where's the crease? In the back of your ear, you see how it does this, how it bends, and there's a crease back there? It was just skin. And doctors were able to correct it. It didn't look that weird that... I would have grown up and, you know, I've seen other children that don't have that crease and it's not that noticeable. I probably would have been fine. I would have been made fun of a little bit, but it wasn't like wept hands or something. You look like he had six fingers on each hand. Yeah, I mean, I don't think it's six fingers on each hand is what I'm saying. Thank you for the call. I appreciate it. Now, Emma and Andrea, we talked about before we went to break from Carlsbad. Are you there? Yeah, I'm here. You had a guy friend that had a breast reduction. Yeah, we grew up in, like, southern county, and he got picked on a lot. I guess he just got overdeveloped. He just had, well, pretty much man boobs, and he got made fun of and tortured. So the entire time, he would tell his mom, hey, mom, can you help me out? Can you help me out? And no one would look at him, and it got to the point where, like, PE coaches would give him a hard time. So I think there's a certain point where even things that don't...
seem like a big problem you know kids who are overweight but try to overcome that and just can't get rid of certain body parts like you know boys with you know their overdeveloped chest or girls with bigger noses I think you don't realize how badly kids get picked on for little things like that and there's a parent's part is to protect their kids and sometimes I think that means you know getting that surgery done he got to a point where he was actually going to take a knife to himself and could open his own chips to, you know, get attention and say, hey, I need to get rid of this before his parents stepped in and said, okay, we're going to help you with this. Yeah. Well, I mean, listen, I am, the emotion is not lost on me, especially being the dad of a kid with autism. Yeah. You know, that I recognize the whole making fun of thing and I'm very, very sensitive to it to the point where I go, I wonder. If it's a mistake that a guy that is so sensitive to people being picked on had a son with autism, you know, I believe God knows what he's up to. And, you know, I love my son and would kill me, you know, if somebody made fun of him. Yeah, you got your, he's got his Uncle Woods. Yeah. See, Uncle Woods would go straight to the belt. Hundred percent. You know, and I am not above.
going to a school oh we you know we heard the story of our buddy cb you know you're not gonna pick on his daughter you're not gonna pick on my son you're not gonna pick yeah you're not gonna pick on my my my son or my daughter absolutely not gonna no you're not gonna now with that in the middle of lunch yeah mind you yeah what are you gonna do when your child is in high school and you can't just go in and do that you're gonna embarrass them and that's and totally you totally are and i think that what you do is You have to there has to be constant from the time they're little. You have to start to teach them what it is that forms their self-worth. I can't tell you. And I love mom and dad. I love you. They didn't. This isn't a mess up on mom and dad's part. All I'm telling you is what my experience was and what I'm going to do. But I don't remember conversations about what made my self-worth. I don't remember that. Jake and Luke and Ryan, they're going to hear about what makes their self-worth. Now, Jake, what's he said last night? And I agree with him. I say, man, I'm trying to take my own bias out of it. That's a good looking kid. Dude. Handsome. He's a sharp little guy. I showed Jamie that picture and she goes, he is so handsome. I know. He is. And I think that that may help him as he gets older, especially because he's got autism. But.
At the same time, I have to teach him. And I told Rebecca this. I said, you know, specifically, we may have to teach him as he gets older that if he continues to be a handsome kid, that that isn't what his worth is about. The fact that he's a good looking kid. That's so important. My stepdaughters. Gorgeous little girl. And I am always like, look at that painting you did. You are so talented at drawing. Because everywhere we go, people are like, oh, she's so pretty. Oh, she's so pretty. And I don't want her only hearing that. She's going to be such a dynamite mom. This one right here. Oh, yeah. Ridiculous. Thank you. Sienna was born. 25 years old. She was born to be a mom. You know what an idiot I was when I was 25 years old? You know what an idiot I am now? Think about me 10 years ago. Thank you. Right? 570. One ninety four nine. And I knew you 10 years ago. I was an idiot. I think it's just you can't put emphasis on looks in either direction because I was like a kid that went through phases of really, really awkward to that. Like, oh, look at her. She's so cute. She's so beautiful. But I mean, I don't think I would have a sense of humor like I do if I wasn't made fun of. That's one of the things, too, is, you know.
Someone with a nose that they don't like, that's something you deal with. And you're going to have other characteristics that are going to rise because of that, because of that flaw that you think you have. People that don't have the genuine good looks, they are funny. They have other things. And you bring other things out because of what you think you lack. I'll pull the curtain back a little bit with L.O.B. One of the first things that I told my wife about you when I met you. Because we had breakfast. And I met you face to face. She said, what did you think? I said, you know what stood out to me? Character. Character. Good character. And I was digging. I was trying to figure out who she was. I wanted to know exactly what she was going to be like. Now, we know about L.O.B. She's pretty guarded. There's no doubt about it. She's pretty guarded. When you first get to know her, she puts a little bit of a wall up and it takes a while to knock the wall down. Great Wall of China, maybe. But the one thing that I could tell was that there was character there. There were certain aspects of her, not personality. You can't confuse personality with character. But there were things about her that I asked real bluntly.
what would you do in a situation where you're trying to get along with people? What would you do in a situation where there's conflict? What would you do? Blah, blah, blah. You know, I asked her flat out and she has stayed true to it. Yeah. And that all has to do with character. Yeah, but I mean, like, I was made fun of for being flat chested. I mean, up until probably this morning. Like, you know what I mean? Like, and I'm... You're smuggling raisins over there? Yeah, exactly. All right. Tic Tacs. All right. But, I mean, it's... I didn't have that problem. I had the opposite problem, actually. I mean, if it wasn't that, it was buck teeth, or it was, like, I was at a point in my life, I was too skinny, and my legs, I looked like a daddy long leg. Like, every name in the book. And it makes you be like, all right, well, like, you know what? I'm going to come up with a really witty comeback the next time you call me a daddy long leg. But not everybody has that reserve and that resiliency to be like, yeah, I'm fat, but I'm going to be funny. You know what I mean? Like Chris Farley. Like, they made fun of him, but what did he do? Well, look how he ended up. Well, I mean, and I think it could go back to the parenting. If you go, you know, if a parent tells you, like, you do have big ears, but.
Maybe one day you can fix those. It scares me to death to be a parent. 5701949 is our number. I am going to premiere some audio for everybody right now. The people that are in the studio are going to get to see it because I'm going to turn my computer around for people here in the studio. First time. It still stinks in here. Yeah, now it does. Really bad. You guys scared? Yeah. What is that? Is that? I used that thing. Where's the women's bathroom?
What are you doing? We're going to eat. Yeah, watch. We're going to eat. Great. This face when that door opens. This face when that door opens is priceless. So good. I love the hat. The hat. Go to MikeyShow.com if you want to check it out. I'm filming a documentary. Yeah, and you go, and Woods goes, about what? About what? And I go, it doesn't matter what it is. Yeah, it doesn't matter. 5701-949 is the number. Go to MikeyShow.com and you'll also find that on YouTube. We have our Footloose video too that we did up as well. We have two of these. For the record, I can do those every weekend. I'll gladly give up my Saturday for those. It was great. It's so funny. My brother... is the guy that made them, and he's really good at it. He's so good. And it's funny, because he's like a director. He actually is giving you directions. He made me do a couple scenes, like, nine times each. I can't tell you how many times I drove in and out of that warehouse in L.O.B.'s car. Yeah, and the footloose scene. And he would say to Woods, as Woods is doing the thing, he'd be like, get angry. You're angry. Come on, feel it, man. You're mad right now. Feel it. I can't see, too. Is that Marty Scorsese over there? But the best, my favorite part of the whole day,
Was watching the interaction of Mike and his brother. Yeah. Because Mike, as we all know, is a burgeoning film director himself. Am I? And it's one of his fantasies. If you weren't doing this. Oh, absolutely. You'd be directing films. 150,000%. And to watch those two together, trying to get on the same page. I was dying. Maybe we get some hidden audio of that next time. I'm in. You know why? Woods is saying that. Artistically, my brother and I don't necessarily see eye to eye. No. He is really, really. really talented at shooting things and getting a shot. And he is so creative. And I'm the, I don't know. You're the wouldn't it be cool if. And the comedic. And the comedic. The comedic aspect of it. Not that Steve's not funny because he's hysterical. He's more visual and you're more like abstract. Yes. And my brother is not, he does not speak the abstract language. If Steve had had his way.
we would have done the entire Footloose movie scene by scene and exactly what they said. Just with us as characters. Mikey wanted to make it funny. And he's like, I don't see it. I don't see it. I want to do the exact cut. He's like, we've got to get this shot like this and blah, blah, blah. And I'm like... No, no, no, no. You don't get it. This is supposed to be funny. It was funny. Let me tell you, it's good. And Jared, our web guy, just got it up on MikeyShow.com. By the way, if you want to hire Jared, you can. Go to CreateYourDesignOnline.com. That's where you find him. And he is high-end printing and design. He did our billboards. He did a website. He's good. You can get him. CreateYourDesignOnline.com. When we come back, we will be playing radio charades. Nice. Oh, and by the way, we announced earlier that Apple's having a press conference at 10 a.m. Speculation is that it's going to be about the fact that they're going to have to address the fact that their new iPhone 4 has issues. If there was a recall, it would be billions and billions of dollars. But I actually...

Erin Andrews, the ESPN reporter who is on Dancing with the Stars, has filed a lawsuit against the stalker, Michael David Barrett, who, you know, we all know the story. Wow. Yeah, and the hotels involved in the incidents with the peepholes and him videotaping her naked. You would think that she wouldn't want anything to do with that dude, let alone...
have to drag him into a courtroom and have something to do with him. Right, well, she wants to humiliate him like he humiliated her. But doesn't that, like, make him, I mean, you're dealing with a crazy person, you would think. Yeah, he's in jail right now. Isn't that going to make him more, like, crazy? Like, you're giving him what he wants. You. You know, you're engaging him. Weird. Yes, and also the hotels. She says they were negligent and invaded her privacy because she told them, yes, she's staying here, and here's her room number, and Tim the room right next to it. Wow. Also in San Diego, yesterday, federal officials arrested a man and a woman who came from Mexico. They were both 30 years old, and their minivan was pulled over at the Border Patrol checkpoint on the 8 by Pine Valley. $1.2 million worth of cocaine in that minivan. Wow. Yesterday morning. 49. I'm so wasted. Oh, my gosh. 49 packages of cocaine were concealed inside the door panels and weighed over 125 pounds. Oh, my. Give me an idea. Give me an idea. Good weekend, pal. You know what I mean? Woodsy, what's going on in sports? Well, Dr. Chow, the Chargers physician, is under fire right now from the DEA.
They are looking into some allegations that he wrote 108 prescriptions to himself to possibly dole out two players. And it's a big, big scandal. And they're going to get to the bottom of it. Matt Latos, the Padres ace, has gone to the DL with ribs that he hurt sneezing or stifling a sneeze. And also tune in to the British Open. It's going to be a good one. The conditions are good. People are shooting low scores. Should be a very exciting weekend. I'm going to get to the Lindsay Lohan. Thinking in just a second how she may possibly be getting out of going to jail. Weird. So earlier we discussed how the iPhone 4 has had problems. And at 10 this morning, Apple has announced a press conference. Apple doesn't hold press conferences unless they're releasing a new product. So the fact that they're holding a press conference has people speculating. Are they doing this because they have to address the fact that the iPhone 4 is jacked? Or could it be something else like rumors of the iPhone going to Verizon? Well, I was of the mind that it was about the messed up iPhone 4. And the reason that I was is because last week I ordered one and I was supposed to get an email telling me, okay, it's available. Never did. And I thought, well, that makes sense. Because if that thing was messed up, they're not going to keep selling them. Yeah, especially if they're going to be recalled. If they're going to be recalled.
It wouldn't make logical sense for them. I just got the email saying it's in. It's somebody's old one refurbished for you. I think you're getting excited about nothing. You mean the press conference? I think they're going to come on at 10 and say, yeah, we realize there's some problems and we're working to fix it. Yeah, but people are mad. Oh, I know. And they look bad at Apple right now. Which is why they're doing the press conference. They're going to break tradition today. Well, they could do this. They could say, There's been a lot of speculation over whether or not the iPhone 4 is defective and has reception problems. And the truth is, is that yes, it does. We figured it out and we're going to fix it with an easy download solution. Could be. That'll come out next Tuesday. You can download it, put it onto your brand new iPhone 4 and it's working perfectly. Wouldn't that be nice if they could do that? That'd be great. Yeah. And somebody called this morning and said, maybe they, you know, it's possible. So anyway, that's the deal. I just wanted to tell you that they're still selling them.
You'll be Skyping yourself in less than four hours. So that's what you're really excited about. We know that. Let's see. Okay. How exactly is Lindsay Lohan maybe getting out of jail? Well, she's supposed to be going to jail on Tuesday. Yeah. And as we all know, she does not want to go. So what did she do? Check herself into a sober living house in L.A. You can just do that, I guess. Apparently so. She arrived on Wednesday afternoon and was still there yesterday. Really? She made it a whole 24 hours? Yes. Wow. Holy cow. We know that she was sentenced, just in case you don't know, to 90 days in jail on July 6th for violating her probation in a DUI case from a few years ago. Right. Now, the thing is, is this sober living house was founded by the famous defense attorney, Robert Shapiro. OJ. Defended OJ. OJ. Right. Now, word is, Lindsay's at this sober living house getting to know Robert Shapiro, trying to get him to represent her to get her out of jail. For a DUI violation. Yeah, he's not yet her official lawyer, but apparently she's meeting with him and other addiction specialists, and he's going to be assessing her situation before he makes an announcement whether or not he's going to be her lawyer. I don't like it, but I also don't blame her. I mean, she's doing what...
somebody with the resources to try to get out of a situation would do. I don't like it, though, because as a citizen, I'm like, hey, you shouldn't be able to, you know. Skirt the law. Skirt the law. He's like, let me think of the most obvious crime where somebody got off. Yeah. I know. And let me get their attorney. Yeah. Well, also. Yes. What is the most high profile case? Let's see. Robert Kardashian's dead. So I need to get. Could be. Johnny Cochran's dead. Son of a bitch. Hey, hey. You can't say that I was guilty, man. As a matter of fact, I'm trying to find a real killer. Now. I'm trying to find him on the back nine later today. Well, you're in jail. Oh, that's right. Yeah, you're not playing any back nine. Well, fine, man. Technicality. Technicality. What do you know? That's kind of how you got off. Fine. Well, asides from getting Robert Shapiro to defend her, her voluntary admission into the sober house was also in the hopes that her jail sentence would be modified. If I'm the judge, fine. I'll take a day off. Yeah. Yeah, you did one day in the sober house, one day in jail. Yeah.
M1 Brian from Oceanside, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. What were you calling to say? Oh, actually, I just heard you guys talking about the iPhone. And last night, they actually released a software update for the iPhone 4 that's supposed to change the calculation for the antenna. Really? Yeah. Go Mike. Well, wait a minute. I don't know if it works, but they released that last night, but they have this press conference today. Do you have iPhone 4? Not yet. I don't have an iPhone 4. I just know it was there because they actually released that same upgrade for the iPhone 3GS. Where did you hear that? Where did I hear it? Yes, sir. All over the place. You can just plug your iPhone on your computer. I know, but you heard that somewhere. Somebody told you, and I just want to make sure that your source is good. Oh, I actually got an email from, because I get updates when my phone gets updates. Oh, okay. As long as it's from a reliable source. Because Mikey's hopes are going to go skyrocketing. Thank you. I wonder what this press conference is then. You'd be happy if they're going to Verizon, you guys, right? You only have to wait an hour and 20 minutes. Really? Gosh. They have to wait until we get off the air. What's up with that? She's killing me. She's slaughtering me over it. What's he? Would you get it? Yeah, I'd get one. How about you, LV? Skype with my wife in the next room. Would I? If they're going to Verizon? Heck yeah. If they fix the whole duct tape thing. Question. I have iTunes on this.
On your laptop. Will all that go into that iPhone? You bet it will. All of it? You bet, buddy. Everything. All of it. And everything in your phone will be stored. I have like 4,000 songs and like 30 movies. Yeah, not only that, buddy, but when you make a, if you put something on your iCal on your laptop, automatically. You're in the iCal. I've started using it. The iCal saves his life. iCal runs my life. I know. But I can never, it never pops up. Yeah, mine doesn't pop up either. What do you mean? It needs insight. It never pops up, dude. It never gives you messages. No, it never says you're not setting it. I'll show you how. My Mac right now, when I try to open it and start it, it has a flashing folder with a question mark in it. You think maybe that was because you poured Coca-Cola down into it when you first got it? It could have been the root beer, could have been the Dr. Pepper, the hot coffee. She pours stuff into that thing and she turns it upside down and goes... Like it's an old Nintendo game. Yeah. She's trying to get to work. First time we met her, we... We knew L.O.B. five minutes she dropped a coffee into her laptop. Yeah, and then I dropped a Dr. Pepper a couple days later. It's what petrifies me about sitting next to her because I have my Mac that I cherish. Train Rick. But yeah, that just happened. That's the newest thing. It's got all my pictures, phone. I mean, songs. It's great. It's awesome. It's the best. It's the best. Listen, and I use PC. I'd never go back. I agree. Ever. Ever. I agree, too.
570-1949 is our number. Let's play Radio Charades. Yeah. Let's do it. Call us right now if you want to play Radio Charades. And what is the prize today, Jason? I have the Dead Weather's Sea of Cowards CD. Dead Weather's good. That's Jack White's band, right? Yep. A fantastic CD. It really is. Give us a call right now. And by the way, the Dead Weather, we're going to... Commercial free. Is it the dead weather, right? Monday night. Somebody's birthday. Commercial free. Monday night. Monday is Woodsy's birthday. Broadcasting live. Broadcasting live. In my honor. Yeah. That is 100% correct, buddy. I'll be home asleep. Okay, so this is the way that Radio Charades works. I am going to be your eyes. And it's all movies. It's always movies. Always movies. It's always movies. Jay just gave Sienna the movie. How do you feel about this movie? Do you feel you'll do okay? Yeah, I'm a little worried about wearing a dress. Oh, boy. Jay, you creepy guy. No, no, no. He's like, which one can I give her? No, it's not. Hang on a minute. Okay, let's see. I've got to get my timer going here. I use a timer for this one, right, Jay? Yes. How long do they get? They get the 60 seconds. Okay, cool. All right, first up, M1 Matt downtown.
Yep, here I am. How you doing, buddy? I'm doing all right. All right, you will have to rely on me to be your eyes, and Sienna is going to act out this movie, and hopefully you'll be able to get it within 60 seconds. Are you ready? I'm ready. Here we go. Three words. Here's the second word. Karate. She's doing, like, karate. Karate. Yes, that's the word. Karate is the word. Karate Kid. Kick because I'm wearing a dress. Yeah, so like Dirk Diggler doing karate. Oh, that's fine. Okay. I couldn't kick. You don't say I would have done a full like that. Yeah, you really can't kick in that dress. I get it. I get it. Hang on the line, Matt. Oh, I'm so relieved. I got it. You are a winner. He's like, how am I going to do kid?
Call us right now, 570-1949 if you want to play Radio Charades. Right now, Jay is telling Lauren what her movie is going to be, and the player is... She doesn't like it. M1 Cindy. Oh, L.O.B. does not like her movie. Cindy, I'm already going to tell you, L.O.B. looks like she does not like what this movie is, but I am going to be your eyes. All right. I'm going to be your eyes, and I will tell you exactly what L.O.B. is doing. Are you ready? Yes. Here we go. One word. She is flying. She's moving her arms like a bird, like she's flying around the room. Now she's doing the upside down glasses. When you do the upside down glasses, where you put your hands to your face and make the A-OK sign, but you do it upside down on your face. Now she's putting a cloak around herself. She's doing a cloak. She's doing like a cloak. It was like, I don't know. Now, oh, she's like a bat. Or like, yeah, she's like a Batman. Yes! That is correct. It was Batman. You are a winner. Hang on the line. That's hard. You did really good with that. I loved the bat move. It was quite a bat move. And I like the upside down eyes too. The mask. This one's a little bit tougher. Woodsy is now going to go for M1.
Buenos dias from Encinitas. How are you? Good. What's up, guys? Not too much. Okay. Woodsy's going to be the guy acting it out for you. I'll be your eyes. You ready to go? Ready. Here we go. Three words. Third word. Woodsy is walking. He looks very... Yes, walking is the word. First word. Oh, he shot himself in the head. He's shot himself. Dead man walking. Yes! Unbelievably good. Buenos dias. Buenos dias. You got it, dude. That was killer. Well done. Got yourself a Dead Weather CD. Hang on the line, sir. All right, thank you. Best game ever. Best game ever. I actually think you guys are getting better. Yeah. Each week, you guys are getting better. You're getting better, too. Yeah, dude, you killed it today. Yeah, well, I finally figured out the concept of charades. It took you six weeks. Yeah. Didn't get it at all, but I'm finally starting to understand.
So Sienna said that it's officially turned into a nightmare for her. If you don't know, Sienna is in her third trimester. She's going to have a baby next month. She's like only about a month away. Yeah. And she brings up an interesting topic that dudes may be able to relate to. If you have a wife that's had a kid. Any man will, I'm sure, relate to it if they've dealt with a pregnant woman. Over the last two weeks, she hasn't been able to sleep at night. So she keeps waking her husband Todd up.
Because he is sleeping. It's not fair. I would do this. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You guys, can I explain? Please. Okay, so I wake up very early, 3 a.m. So I try to get in bed early, like 7.30, 8. I'm going to lie down. This jabroni, my husband, is in the other room watching TV, having a glass of wine, a beer, whatever, having a great time. He comes rolling into the bedroom at like 10.30. Meanwhile, I'm still. awake because I can't take anything to fall asleep. I'm hot. I'm uncomfortable. You know, the whole deal. He comes in immediately. Head hits a pillow. Out. And I'm like, dude, not only are you drinking and having a great time in the other room, I'm here sleeping, sweating, miserable, uncomfortable. Carrying your child. That was an overreaction. And I have to wake up at three. He gets to sleep next to three hours past me. So why should I be the one uncomfortable sleeping less than him? Has anyone listening? She's a child. I am. I know. Trust me. I know. I agree. I have sat up. Crazy. I know. I'm crazy for three nights. No, I got Sienna's back. You guys, it's like I... You have Sienna's back. Yes. It's like you can't control it. As I'm lying there and it's ticking towards midnight and I'm sitting there like, awesome, three hours until I have to get up. Awesome. Mike's going to love me when I show up.
I sit up and I cry sometimes. And I know. You guys have never done that? You can't sleep? This is Todd. No, he has been a saint, this guy. And because I'm sitting there and I know, like, waking him up is not going to do me any good. It's not going to make me go to sleep any faster. But it's like, I have to wake him. Misery loves company. I have to wake him. That's what it is. That is exactly what it is. Misery loves company. Sometimes I nudge him. Sometimes I just whine really loud. I come out here and love talking and run him off. It's the worst. You know, I've tried everything. I drink warm milk now. I buy sprays for my pillows. Listen. Yes. Lavender. I remember Rebecca doing weird stuff. But I don't remember that one. But you guys know me. I would not have been cool. No. I would have been like, what are you waking me up? What are you, nuts? Because you have the same schedule as me. We have freakish schedules. We do. So that's what throws me off. Yeah. Well, I do remember Rebecca doing some crazy stuff. Rebecca like Sienna.
was 150 degrees all the time. Yes. Because your body is working to make a kid. And so you're hot all the time. And so she would get out of the shower in the middle of winter. She would get out of the shower. She would turn the air conditioner on in the winter. And she would stand soaking wet, naked, with her arms out underneath the vent. So the air conditioner would blow on her while she was wet. Yeah. And it would be freezing. It's wintertime. And I would be like, babe, you put the air conditioner on? And she's like, it's so hot! In her defense, you were nude, too. Yeah, that's true. That's why it was cold. It is true. I'm telling you, but... But men are like, I don't know. Todd has turned into a saint since I've been pregnant. Yesterday, he went and bought me the biggest fan I've ever seen in my life. And he came home and put it together and it was blasting on me all night. Therefore, it's blasting on him. Sure. And he didn't complain. He was good. Here's what I want to know. I want to know if there are dudes listening right now that your wives did whacked out stuff.
That you were like, are you kidding? I don't know if we have enough phone lines for that. I know. It's true. I would be so mad if I got woken up just because you couldn't sleep. What are you getting me up for? Now we both can't sleep. Can I do my imitation of what it would be like? Perfect. For always. Great. Guess I'll just get up and go, you know, put some bread on the table, keep a roof over our head with no sleep. I'm going to have some coffee now, too. Yeah, great. Why don't you do some crack cocaine? Yeah, seriously. I would be. Why don't you just do that? I remember. Can't he, like, tickle my back or something? Oh, my God. Do something to get you to sleep. Jamie, I remember when I was on a normal schedule, and, like, if she went out for a girls' night out, and I got woken up, dude, world war. Three. Every time. I mean, I'd throw stuff. You know what my bit was? What? Why don't you have a little respect? No. Great. I got to get up in the morning. She wasn't working, and I was, and I'd be like, did you have a fun night out? How about a little respect? I got to get up and go be dynamic on the phone. No. And you said, too, that Rebecca, and I don't have this one, but I know a lot of women do, is the ice thing. Oh, yeah. Yeah, Rebecca would, every time we left the house. Yeah. Every single time we left the house.
Rebecca had, we had to stop at any place that sold fountain drinks, not so that she can get a fountain drink, so that she could get a 32-ounce cup filled with fountain drink ice. Had to be, no, no, no, not crushed. Had to be that, you know, the squares? You know those square ices? Had to be the square ice. Couldn't be crushed. It couldn't be ice out of the refrigerator. Had to be a certain kind. I know those squares. It had to be the square hollow in the middle. They shatter really nicely. They're like Hall's cough drops. They're shaped like that. She had to have it. Kim would, with our first child, Maddie. I would come home. I was working nights. So I would come in in the middle of the night. And she'd be in the living room vacuuming like a crazy person. I'd walk in. She'd go.
Hey, can you go get me some ice cream? And if there's some popsicles and like, what's wrong with you? She was nesting like a lunatic. And so, of course, there I go to the store in the middle of the night. You would go get the ice cream? Like I had a choice. Yeah. Go get it. I'm going to suck you up this vacuum. I'm going to switch this room and then I'm going to do our room. I was like, can I go to sleep? My sister developed a huge, I mean, she is a health nut. She makes me look like a junk food eater. And she developed this sweet tooth. And she said in her first trimester, she went to VG's Donuts. and she wanted to get she wanted to get two donuts for herself but she didn't want to look like a pig so she's like she made her selection then she goes what would he want She goes, no, he doesn't like chocolate. That's so awesome. Oh, that's classic. I was pretending like it was for her husband. I went to the grocery store yesterday just to buy ingredients to make homemade chocolate chip cookies. Oh, my gosh. And Todd keeps saying, stop buying all this stuff. Like, I need to lose weight. He's getting 700 pounds. I'm gaining weight being around you. And I said, I don't care. You better gain weight as long as I am. We'll do it together with some babies. That's awesome. 570-1949 is the number.
I want to hear from dudes that just had wacky, wacky stuff from your wives. That's funny. I would do the same thing. You can't stop it. Not being able to sleep is the worst. I can't imagine being pregnant and being able to sleep. Would you wake up your significant... Yes. Oh, yeah. You'd wake Jerome up. Yeah. Yes, you would. Brother's trying to sleep. You're going to wake him up. An A-list singer is seriously... Very, very sore after an accident on stage with one of those, like a trapeze thing. Harness. Like a harness trapeze deal. You've seen them. I've always thought to myself, too, are those safe? Well, apparently there can be accidents. We'll tell you what happened. Pop it in. Turn it on. Be a part of the Mikey Show now. So we got people calling in that are talking about how their husbands were a little bit with the stuff that they put their husbands through. Yeah. When they're pregnant. M1 Hallie from Virginia? Is it Hallie or Haley? It's Hallie. Hallie. Are you actually calling from Virginia right now? Yeah. Oh, wow. Whoa, what part? Yeah, what part? Well, nobody, no place you would know. It's Chase City. It's really, really rural. So you're listening to us online. Yeah, I do. I'm a San Diego native, but I live here now. Nice. And I can't live without my radio. What did you make your husband do? Well, we were driving here when I was six and a half months pregnant. Oh, griddle. Yeah, it was rough. And we stopped at a Taco Bell.
And I had, like, a complete mental breakdown inside, and it kind of freaked him out. And what started it was I was really tired, and the lady asked me if I wanted, you know how the quesadillas have sauce in them? Yeah. Yeah, well, I was trying to tell her I didn't want any sauce, and she was getting confused, and I was really frustrated. So I was, like, staring at her and asking her why she didn't understand. Oh, God. Oh, God. Why don't you understand? Oh, God. Oh, God. The emotions. I just want it plain. Yeah, the emotions. I was so tired. Yeah. Yeah, I just wanted it plain. And she didn't understand. And when I got it, it had sauce on it. And so we were sitting at the table. Breakdown. I broke down. Breakdown. I started crying. My husband was like, well, we can get you something else. And I was like, no, it's fine. You know? She was freaking out. He didn't understand what was going on, and it was just, it was hormones, and he was really great. You can't control it. I just had, like, a complete breakdown. Crazy. But am I right? Like, you know you're completely insane, but you don't care. You can't control it. Can't help it. No, you can't. You can't control it. You're completely, you're just insane. You know what I don't understand, Hallie, is that it seems to me that the...
hormones are inside of a little package called the baby. So how come your hormones are crazy? No. We're holding everything. Do you produce more hormones? In your own body? More different kinds. They like go into overdrive. Crazy. Yeah. Why do you think it was so hot all the time? I have a question too, Hallie. Okay. When you started to break down because there was sauce in your quesadilla, how did your husband react? He just stared at me. And he was so concerned. It was the worst thing in the world. I was just crying. It was like you lost a parent. And he's consoling you. He's like, babe, you know what? We'll get through this together. We'll get through this somehow together. That's the best way he could have handled that, though. I've cried because I had sauce in my case deal and I wasn't even pregnant. I just don't like the sauce. Mad cry. Thank you, Hallie. Appreciate it. M1 Randy from Claremont. Are you there? Yeah. How are you guys doing? Good. Good. Hey, first of all, I just want to say I love the show. Thank you, bro. Just, man, you guys are great. I love the crew. Thank you, man. Awesome. Hey, so my wife and our first child, my wife could not go a day without having barbecued ribs.
Oh, wow. Really? That is awesome. Wow. Our house looked like a butcher shop. A graveyard. A slaughterhouse. It looked like a slaughterhouse. I went out and bought a smoker. Oh, my God. I mean, we were at least like three or four times a week. I mean, I was like just racks and racks. To this day, my kid is a barbecue junkie. He's 12 years old. That's so great. You had to buy a freezer to get the heifer. You had to buy a half side of a cow. Deep freezer. I did buy a second refrigerator. Oh, that's great. But one of the best stories, she was freaking out. She wanted ho-hos. So this is like 1030 at night. So I run up to Vaughn's. I get, you know, looking for the box, but they didn't have the box. They just had, like, the packs of two. So I grabbed every one they had, like, eight of them. And I figured, well, I better get a half a gallon of milk because she's probably going to want to drink some of that, too. Smart man. I'm standing in the checkout line, and I hear this voice, two voices from behind me going, nice dinner. I turn around and look.
And all I can, the best way to describe it would be these two women probably named Bob and Steve. I just look at them and I go, well, they're for my wife who's at home pregnant with my child. And they kind of like took their stuff and walked away. I would have thought somebody's got them on cheese. Yeah, you should have told her to git. Yeah, should have given her big, giant, fat git. Smoke job. That is genius, dude. Oh my gosh. See, he comes home, he's like. So, what's for dinner? Ribs or ribs? Baby backs or beef or what? Mesquite or sweet. That is freaking funny, man. Every day he's like, that's great. That's hilarious that his son is 12 loves him. I know. What's always weird is when she probably, now she doesn't watch it. Get those things away from me. Rebecca hasn't had a cup of ice since those twins were born. Hasn't had a cup of, no desire for it, doesn't want it. Something takes over you and you're like. What do you want, Sienna? Oh, man, recently it's been really bad stuff. She's like Latino, man. It's really weird. It's really strange. No, yesterday when I was at the grocery store, I had in my hand, and I was like, don't do it. Don't do it.
A box of the Edmonds chocolate donuts. Do it. And I was like, oh gosh, they have the hard chocolate shell around them and they're yellow in the middle. I want them so bad. And I'm not kidding. I went back to them a second time. I still, I left them though. Because I was like, I can't do it. Right now, I like to do this every once in a while. I'll put the thought in your mind and you have to try to imagine the smell. Imagine opening the top of a white box of Edmonds. Hard chocolate coating around it with the yellow cake in the middle. I thought to myself, what if I just get the mixed ones? Because I don't like powder. Yeah. That way I don't eat this whole box. Because I will. Plain ones. I'll just throw those out. I know. I cannot eat those white powdered donuts. I don't like them. It's like putting baby powder in my mouth. It's so gross. It's gross. Dang it. Have you ever heard of Mrs. Baird's? No. I don't know if they have it here.
But they're real, real soft. I mean, if they're hard, they're no good. These are soft. You wash down with a little DP. Dr. Pepper? No, Dr. Pepper. You know that. We didn't. Oh, my God. And you're being inappropriate. Of course you are. It's like. It's like you have that German shepherd that the company's over, everybody's having a glass of wine, and your German shepherd goes number one all over the carpet in front of everyone. That's Jay. That's Jay. Oh, I'm so embarrassed. I backed up off the pervert truck. My gosh. Wow. M1, James from Lakeside. Are you there? Mikey. What's going on? Hey, when I was in the Navy, my wife was pregnant with our first kid, and I drove literally. From Tacoma, Washington to Portland, Oregon for Carl Jr. You win. You win. How far? One way, 160 miles. One way? If I knew how to do math, I would add that up. I brought a big ghoul with me. We stocked up. Wow, dude. That's over two hours of driving. What'd you do, bro? Come over to the microphone. Come over to the mic.
I can incur that distance because I lived in Washington for two years. There is no Carl's Jr. in the state of Washington. Wow. Why would... Wow. Listen. I understand cravings. I understand cravings. But why would a woman want the most disgusting, gelatinous, cold, cold, by the time you get it back 200 and something miles... 320. Did she not go with him? No. He had to go drive and get it. That's cool. I wonder if she went along for the ride. Maybe, maybe. To get a hot feast. Yeah, that makes sense. Yeah, because it would be cold and gross. They loaded up the cooler for, you know, reserves. Yeah. I don't care. I'm starving. Now I crave things that I've never liked before. I mean, you just want what you want. Like German caviar. Yeah. I grew up in Russian. Exactly. I'm used to beluga. I was like, I'll take it. What do you have a craving for now? I don't know. Weird stuff that Todd likes. He always makes these chicken pot pies. I always thought they were gross. And I'm like, oh, God, give me a bite of that chicken pot pie. What is that? What is even in here? It's a mystery. It's awesome. Freaking food. I was in the grocery store yesterday, and I'm on my diet, and it sucked. Oh, it's the worst. And I was pushing a cart full of chicken breasts and broccoli, and I walked past the ice cream aisle, and I was like...
I had drool coming out of my mouth. I was like, get me away from here. Everywhere I turned, it was Snickers, whatchamacallit, peppermint patties. I was like, I've got to get out of here right now. I can't go back to the store. Did you really do that? I lost my mind. Ask Jamie. And I was walking by the ice cream, talking to them, telling them, I miss you. I miss you. In four days. I miss you the most. In four days. You don't understand how many sweets I ate. That's fantastic. I'll miss you. I'll miss you. I'll see you soon. 570-1949. Okay, so, Sienna. Tell the story about what happened to Pink. Oh, man. Yeah, yeah, yeah. She was performing on stage. Pink was in Germany on Wednesday. And I don't know if you've ever seen how she does her acts on stage, but she's been doing the same thing for a few years. She gets a harness on her, and she wears this skin-tight outfit, like a leotard. And she... goes up into the sky of the auditorium and does all these tricks with ropes and puts her body in these compromising, crazy positions. And she's just hanging there by a rope, basically, doing this trapeze act.
Her life and my life are really different. Let me tell you, this girl is ripped to be able to do the stuff she does. It's insane to watch what she does. It's like Cirque du Soleil. It's too much with pink. She's too masculine. If you ran into her in the dark alley, what would you do, Mike? Get down on my hands and knees and just give her my wallet. I would be so terrified if she didn't like me. I'd be like, I'm dead. Yeah, you're dead. Doesn't she remind every girl of the girl in high school that used to beat you up or threaten to beat you up? You don't look cross at that girl. No. You don't even look at her. Yeah. So on Wednesday night, she was in Germany, like I said, and apparently whoever's job was it to harness her in didn't do it correctly. So as she was up hanging feet, like dozens of feet probably, above the audience, the harness breaks and she falls. Oh my gosh. How far up? It doesn't say. But, I mean, obviously not far enough to kill her. Not far enough to kill her. Not far enough to break bones or anything like that, luckily. But she said, you know, she was immediately taken in an ambulance to the hospital. And she got on Twitter a few hours later and just said, I'm so sorry to end the show that way. I'm doing fine. I'm just incredibly sore.
Oh, my gosh. I saw the video of it. You did? Yeah, it was on TV. Did she fall on people? It didn't look like she fell that far. It didn't really show where she landed, but it only looked like six, seven feet. I've seen her do this, though, and she goes high. Really? I mean, terrifying. Like, you're watching Cirque du Soleil. Honestly, if you're the dude that that's your job, how do you not check and double check and check and double check and check and double check? I mean, if that was my job, I would be scared. Sometimes you check and double check and... Stuff just breaks. I mean, you can see how she hangs. Yeah, I wonder if it was just faulty or if they did it wrong. I don't know, but thank goodness she's okay. That could have been bad. That's why I don't like skydiving. Yeah, no kidding. Somebody had a, you know, I mean, a lot of guys, they pack their own parachutes and everything, but I didn't. I don't pack a parachute. Plus, I'm like, you know, that thing rated for my weight. I won't feel it. If it goes wrong, you'll be fine. I felt it when that parachute opened up. Screamed real high. Oh, yeah. Hello. Hi. But I'm saying, you know, the ultimate. The ultimate way to go. Yeah. Yeah, you don't feel it, right? I bet you don't. Don't you? I bet you don't. Really? I bet you don't. You know what? You know why I say that? That's the guy that survived one of those. No. Would you? You know why I bet you don't? If it gets you, the reason I bet you don't is because.
It's like when you get in a car accident, people always go, oh yeah, I don't remember anything. Right? I remember everything. You do have a long time to think about it. I think maybe you just have, when it's happening, you're so scared. I had my parachute break one time. What? Of course you did. It was being pulled behind a boat, though. Parasailing? Parasailing behind a boat in Mexico. I've been watching them do it all day long. And watching, watching, I was like, okay, I'm going to do it. And Kim's like, are you sure? Because she had a horrible thing as a kid. So I went and did it. I go down. I'm going with the wind. You know, everything's cool. Come back around and start to really catch wind and go up super high. I was higher than the hotel, which was like 16 floors or something. Bam, my strap breaks, the chute wraps, and I just free fall into the water. Ouch. You free fell 16. Oh, it was way up there. I mean, I had time to think about it. I had time to, okay, cross your arms, you know, tuck straight in your legs. Shut up. And was Kim watching? Kim's watching. Shut up. Oh, my gosh. So then I go down. I just hit the water super hard. Lucky it was deep because I went down. I was probably 40 feet down. Oh, wow. Did it hurt when you hit the water? Oh, yeah. It's like hitting the ground. So then the guy in the boat's still driving, and I'm still connected by the strap. No. So now it's like I'm thinking, oh, I survived.
So then all of a sudden I'm being drugged along behind the boat for a little bit. I'm going, okay, this is great. Bumping up against dolphins. So then all of a sudden the other strap breaks. I'm like, oh, thank God. And then all of a sudden I look up and I'm 40 feet underwater. Oh, dude. Oh, my gosh. Maybe it wasn't 40, but, you know. Far enough. Far enough. And then all of a sudden, because my chute won't let me come to the surface. Question. Oh, my gosh. I saw the chute on. When you were going down, did you go? Oh, you know I did. You took a giant breath like right before? I had time to think about everything. Luckily, the chute kind of wrapped, so it streamed me. It slowed me down enough where it obviously didn't kill me, obviously. Are you sure it didn't kill you? I'm a zombie. So then I finally made my way to the surface. I've got the parachute undone. I swam out of it. I'm like, come up to the surface. By now, the boat is turned around and coming back to me. I mean, it's got a long rope. And as soon as I come to the surface, the guy goes, you broke, you pay. No! No. I will kill you. Did you? How much? I didn't pay. I ended up getting in the boat. He drove me back over to the break. I had to swim through. There was like, you know, double overhead waves and stuff. Oh, my gosh. Swam through. All the parachute companies are breaking down. They're leaving because they know there's bad news coming because the cops come. And I went and got my money back from the guy. I need to know what your wife did. She was freaking, yeah. She was the whole time. She was like, what is going on? Maybe I would have given that guy the belt when I survived. Wow.
Oh, my gosh. Maybe I would have given him the belt when I survived. Would it be weird, though, at the end of his story? I would have been like, yeah, okay. Because you'd have a belt on while you were doing appearances. I'd go back to my hotel, grab my belt, come down and pistol it. Go down to Boot World and buy a belt. That's right. 100%. How crazy would it have been at the end of his story if he would have gone, guys, kind of sad, though? I died. I died. I actually passed away. Yeah, it was really sad. That is insane. Moment of silence for me. Yeah. I'm not surprised though. 570. Houdini meets Evil Knievel. True. Over there. 570-194-9 is our phone number. Rebecca asked me the other day, because we have a babysitter that just turned 17 yesterday. She goes, Rebecca says to me, if you could be 17 again, would you do it? And I went. Do you know what you know now? That has got to be the question, right? Because what if you didn't? If I didn't, I would never do it again. I would. But if I knew what I knew now, I would do it again. Because that was my question. I said, do I get to know what I know now? And I could tell that the girl that was 17 had that look like, oh boy.
Like, you really know so much. Old fogey. Mr. Wise Man. Oh, yeah. You know it all. You know what they say? The youth is wasted on the young. That's right. Even if you did know what you know now and you got to become 17 again, no one else, none of your friends would know. And they'd be like, come on. But this is what would be great. This is what would be great about being 17 with a 40-year-old's experience is that stuff that used to spin me out at 17 would have zero effect on me. Zero. None. I would have girls be like, I'm never talking to you again and hang up. And instead of crying. Yeah. Building a house of cards or something. Wow. Mikey likes to build houses of cards. I was 12. And by 12, you mean 17. And he built them with girls in his room. One girl. Anyway. Hopefully. I was 13. If you had it to do over again, would you have done the house of cards bit? No. You and Rebecca have never built a house of cards? No, Sienna. On your anniversary. That's not how you wooed her? No, Woods. Have you showed Jake how to do them yet? No, Sienna. Hey, Jake, I'm going to show you a little tip. It's going to help you close a lot of business with the ladies. When you're buying your engagement ring. Go get your daddy a deck of cards. Guy builds one house of cards with a girl. One too many. One too many. And his friends never let him forget it.
Why would we? That's why we call you the Jack of Spades every day. We're like the Queen of Hearts. Today it's not the trust tree, it's the filet fur. It is. I was 13 years old. I had a crush on this girl. I asked her to come over. She did. And I said, would you like to build a house of cards? She respectfully declined. No, she sat there. She felt bad for you. She requested me on Facebook two years ago. What do you think about that? That house of cards had a great effect on her. I wonder if she would remember it. I found her, by the way. Let's ask her. Let's ask her. Let's get her on the phone one day. Let's get her on the phone. Do you think that she remembers it? Should I try to get her? Try to get her. Let's get her on the freaking phone today. I'll try right now. I'll try right now. Oh my gosh, that'd be so great. Let your voice be heard on The Mikey Show now. The YouTube. Yes. And so anyway, you go check it out. It's pretty good. Let's see. Oh, reminder, especially since we're playing the White Stripes, reminder that Monday night we're going to be doing a live broadcast, commercial-free, dead weather. Jack White. Pretty cool. Earlier I was mentioning that if Huey Lewis had toured again, I would go. And Woods just found out that they're going to be at Harrah's Rincon. Rincon. Harrah's Rincon. Oh, get the spit out. Hey, Maki. You can never believe it. Hey, man. You're going to be at Harrah's Rincon, dude. Can you believe it? I think it's some sort of venue called Rincon. Rincon, bro. But apparently it's here. Yeah. Maybe get your boy and make a rat. In San Diego. East County San Diego, Maki.
Which he just got so mad at me. R-I-N-C-O-N. I'm like, it's Rincon. You spiced it up. I thought you were an English major. I am. That's not English. I'm just kidding. It's pronunciation. R-I-N-C-O-N. Rincon. You know why? I just remembered. There was a pitcher named Juan Rincon. That's how he spelled his name. That's why I said it. That's why you said it. Manly reason. It's tough. Grab a bat. Woodsy just got really mad at me. You play ball like a girl. Do what? Tell everybody why you got so mad at me. In the bathroom? Yeah. Yeah, he has a new little bit that he likes to do. It's a new bit. His new bit is, I'm going to pee and see how fast I can get out of there with Woodsy in there. It's not my point. It isn't my point. We both go to the bathroom. This is the weirdest thing I have ever heard. And most men will concur. Why are you admitting you guys go to the bathroom together? We don't. We had to go. We don't go. It's not like, hey, I'm going to put my makeup on. Want to come with me? Do you guys hold hands at the urinal? No. In fact, I went to a stall. He went to the urinal. We had a little separation. And so we get done at the same time. And we're washing up. But I took a little extra wash time. He didn't.
He finished washing, dried, and ran out the door. And I'm like, no, no, no, no. No, he didn't. He goes like this. Really? You leave your boy? Yeah, leave your boy at the sink. Wait. Just wait for me. This is what you call a lover's core. Is it? Yeah. This is. Weird. It's not weird, dude. I don't know how to react. Let's say we go to lunch today. Like, Lauren, do we laugh? Do we cry? I don't know. Let's say we go to lunch today and you and Lauren go to the bathroom. You're going to walk back to the table together, right? No, I don't think so. If she was still hanging out, I'd be like, later. That is not. Who wants to hang out? What do you do? Where do you put your hands? You visit, sweetly. Excuse me. We can visit at the table. This is what was great about it to me. He was mad. I was mad. He opened that door and I was dying. He opened that door red hot. Mikey, you were playing hard to get. He was red hot. Let me see if he'll follow me. I made him. He was extra mad because he was in there with a kind of uncomfortable situation. A fellow
DJ from another station in the building happened to walk in at the same time. So I left him with uncomfortable chatter. Yes. See, during uncomfortable chatter, it's always good to have a buffer there. A wingman. How much chatter can you have when you're drying your hands off? How long does it take? There's chatter. I don't understand. I got to get back on the air. End of conversation. It's not. He wasn't like left hanging, just talking by himself. You guys were washed. If you guys were really washing your hands, you would have seen him leaving. Don't stick your hands in my face. Oh, my goodness. Fresh. So you're not going to believe this. Somebody whose TV show who is extremely popular in the ratings is hitting. All-time ratings lows. Who is it, Sienna? Oprah. I knew it. I knew it. Oprah Winfrey. I'm absolutely shocked. Yeah, with her most recent ratings report fell below the 3.0 mark, which is the first time in the show's history. Why, do you think? I don't know. 3.0. I think that, you know, I don't know. Like, I know she's coming out with her Oprah Winfrey network.
Cable show, O-W-N. And that starts in January, so maybe people are just, like, bailing and waiting for that. I don't know. My new network, OMG, is coming out. OMG. I wonder if it has anything to do with her support for Obama. I don't know. No. Because his ratings are not... Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. His ratings have fallen. I guess, you know, some of it may have to do with Wimbledon, too. Because it was around the same time. Because a bunch of people are watching Wimbledon? I don't know. I mean, she still has the number one daytime talk show. Wait, are we in England? Yeah. But, I mean, her show's never fallen below the 3.0 mark before. Maybe retire. Let's see. 570-1949 is our number. And if you want to text us, you can do that. It's 949mikey at gmail.com. Did any of you have or were you the cashless friend? Yeah. I've been both. Of course. I had been that guy and I've been friends with that guy. Yeah, both. I feel I'm more familiar with being the cashless friend. Mm-hmm. I'm way, you know, because I remember like I was so, it became my, it became my, what do you call that? Shtick?
Yeah, you're my shtick, but it became my persona, my identity. That's what it was. Being a cashless friend? Yeah, my identity became Mike. Oh, yeah, he's a cashless friend. And here was the deal. Everybody wanted me to be a part of stuff, and they were mad. They were so mad because they knew my bit was I don't have any money. And you know what your dad instilled in you growing up like mine? If you don't have the money, you don't go. No, my dad did not instill that. So I would go. I would go. I would let them pay. Oh, you would? Oh, yeah. Really? No, this is what I would do. I would go like this. Mikey, I did too. You did? What? I didn't. Here's what I would do. Here's what I would do. I would go, hey, dude, you want to go? We're going tonight to this bar and blah, blah, blah, and doing this and da, da, da. And I can't, man. Broke. Broke. And they would be like, again, I'll spot you. And I would do my obligatory. No. No, dude. I can't, can't I? Yeah. Deep down, you're like, yes. I was always cashless, but I found a way to become, like, if they needed something fixed, I would fix it. And then they were like, or I would be the driver for the trip. You know, I was like, they always took me. They chip in. Oh, yeah, that's a good idea. Drive. You want that dude with you wherever you go. Sure. I'm telling you right now. You do want Jay with you wherever you go. When I was in, it reminds me of when I was in college. I went to school in Chicago.
And I worked at a bar and I had a friend that owned a bar on Rush Avenue, which is a big, Rush Street, which is a big street full of bars. He had a boat, kind of a big timer, a little bit older, but he was Armenian. And he was shorter than Mikey, if you can believe that. Oh, wow. Really? That's pretty short. Let me tell you, that is so short. He talking like this. We go out tonight. That's how he talked. His name was Frank. Yeah. And so. Most popular name, Armenian name, by the way. Frank. So we'd be out, and Frank knew a lot of girls, and he owned a bar in Chicago. I mean, the dude had money, and he was kind of a little bit of a baller. Yeah. And we'd be out on the boat, and we'd have these girls out there, and he'd be like... Oh, when we get in, we go eat steak. And I'd be waiting to get off the boat and run home and have my ramen noodles. I don't have $4 in my pocket, dude. I'm not going to Morton's with these girls. And he'd want to pay for everything. And he's like, it's okay, Woods. I pay. You have no money again. You broke. I know. And I'm like. Oh, so embarrassing. And these girls are looking at me. I'm like, college. Don't.
You put your head on Frank's shoulder. Frank takes care of you again. The girls are like, oh, you're gross. You crawl into Frank's baby barn. I bump you, okay? We go to Morton's. I pay again. I get bottled. Everybody rely on Frank. Oh, man. Just this big. Frank emasculate you. Frank emasculate you. It stinks, isn't it? Did you just fart? Who has the B.O.? Is it you again? He has the worst gas. Have I ever told you about my friend Woods? He's so smelly, him. I'm telling you, dude. And you feel... This. Yeah. You ever have the big timer friend with all the cash, dude? It's the worst. It's worse. And like you take the scraps. You're like, you need that rind of that steak. I guess I'll have some. Or you get used to like Hyrule and you're like, yeah, this is a lie. Oh, that was the deal I had. There was this girl that I knew and she was a buddy and she would pay for everything. She would pay for everything. Well, she eventually got.
to this point where she was like, you know, I'm not going to pay for everything. But she just decided it one night while we were, you know, out. Oh, she didn't tell you? Yeah, she didn't tell me. Oh, no. And so I did my usual, oh, no, no, no. And she was like, okay. See you later. She was like, okay. And so I was like, oh, my gosh. Oh, like you offered to pay and she said, okay. Yeah. Yeah. I was like, well, that I was going to pay for myself because I, you know, I always had, I never had money. And so I did the thing where I was like, oh, she goes, hey, I got this one. And I go, oh, no, no, no. Let me get it. Let me get it. And she goes, okay. See, she did you a favor. And I was like, I do. Did you not have money? I had to use a credit card that was bad. Wait for it to come back. Yes, this was declined, sir. Really? That's so weird. I don't know. It was the worst. This is probably before you could use a debit card and just overdraft. Oh, yeah. Just overdraft it. I've done this bit, too, of a buddy calls, like, let's go out tonight. Dude, actually, I lost my wallet. I've lost my debit card. I left it in the machine. I have no access to money. I can't get cash out. It's past the time the banks are open.
Don't worry about it, Woods. Just come out with us, man. You know what I'll do? I'll write you a check. Yeah, yeah. Write me a check, bro. Write me a check. It's going to bounce like rubber. Yeah, maybe he doesn't write a check. I don't relate to any of this. What are you guys even talking about? Write the check 10 days ahead and be like, what was I thinking? Oh, man. I didn't get that date right at all. But like, you know, I don't make a ton of money, but it's like if I want to go out and I want one of my boys there and he can't go, I'm to the point now where I'm like, dude, just. Just come, man. Like, I'm going through this right now. I got a buddy that lives in Dallas. He is unequivocally my best friend. We've been friends for 30 years. And he's got two kids, man, and times are tight. And he's like, dude, I can't afford to fly out there. And I'm like, I'm flying you out. And he goes, no, absolutely not. That's charity. And I said, dude, it's not charity. I just want you here. I want you here. I want to hang out, go surf. And he's like, no, you're not flying me out. But I'm going to just buy him a ticket. I had one of the most embarrassing conversations I've ever had with my brother when I was 27 years old. He goes, hey, you're 27 years old. It's time to stop being the guy that can't go out because you don't have any money. And I will never forget that conversation. It was so like. Which brother? I felt like a little kid. Which brother? Which brother do you think? Mark. Of course. Steve. Really? Yeah.
You're 27 years old. How much older is he? Eight. Wow. Eight years. I thought you guys were like. I know. I call him my little brother, Steve. Yeah. Steve's brutally honest to you. Oh, yeah. Well, we both are. Oh, yeah. We both are. You guys are thick as thieves. Yeah. But we can't. It's weird, too, because if you have multiple siblings, some siblings you can talk a certain way with. Right. But you can't talk exactly that way with the other sibling. Right. If I pulled that stuff with my brother, Mark, he'd be like. Who are you talking to? Yeah, exactly. I'm going to come over there and slit your throat. If you ever want to feel big time, just go now. If you are gainfully employed, go to like a college town and be like, I'll get you guys a round of drinks. Oh, yeah. Seriously. They're like, what? Right? Get them like a can of Schlitzes or something. That's right. A Schlitzes on everyone. What is that? We got a Schlitz on everybody. Oh, I want to play the whole song. Oh, so good. There are some things that you could be doing on your resume that are jacking you up. And you don't even know it. You do it. You think it's the right thing. You think it's great. Guess what? It's not great. I'm going to tell you that. Come ask the master, pal. There you go. Listening to The Mikey Show on FM 94.9. This Wednesday, July 21st, the biggest party of the year returns. If it's broken, there's a 99% chance that I can fix it. On FM 94.9. Don't look at me. It's part of what makes you dynamic, pal. That's right. You're a little out there. We're about to go on the air and Woods is like, hey Mike, will you show me how to set up this calendar? No, right now, real quick. I go over there and I'm like, what, what, what? Like running.
How do you have the calendar here on the computer to tell you? I'm like, we're going back in the air. He's like, no, no, no, show me, show me. Don't big time me, pal, okay? I big time you. You don't big time me. Don't forget, 8 o'clock album tonight, ACDC, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap. And then live broadcast on Monday, dead weather, Monday night, commercial free. How about that? Pretty nice. Let's see. What are the things that we could be doing on our resume that are messing us all up? These are seven things what not to do. Do not apply for a job for which you are not remotely qualified. You're not going to get it. I did. Wait, wait, wait. You didn't apply. No, I'm not talking about this one. Which one? While we're on the subject, I did that too. What? Which one? My first job out of college. It was like five years experience minimum. And I was like, it's close to my house. Sounds like I could do it. Did you get the job? Yeah. No, it's nice to be hot, isn't it? No. See, she doesn't ever think. It's not why. She will say. No, that's not why. Yeah, no, no, no. I was a recruiter for five years, but no, that's not why. He told me it was my thank you letter. Oh, yeah. I was a very good writer. That's great. I had to write, like, press releases and marketing materials. Oh, yeah. I was a good writer. Oh, I know. Not taking anything away from you. Yeah, me either. But as a recruiter, I see you. I see somebody else with more experience. I go, I'm interviewing her. 100%. You didn't see my picture, though. I find you on Facebook.
No, that's not. 100%. I'll find you on MySpace. This is 1967. Before MySpace. Some people, too, I mean, they put like, oh, must have five years experience, but they don't really mean it. I just lied. That's how I got my job. Oh, wow. I was an intern. They asked her, are you going to college? I said, yes. As far as you know. As far as you know. I don't think they'll check. You can't do that now. Yeah, now you have to. all this proof. Anyway, another thing not to do on a resume, include a lofty mission statement. They don't really care about your hopes and your dreams. I'm sorry. Can I just say, in general, I mean, forget resume. I mean, resume, of course, but I mean, in general, brevity, in general. It's a soul of wit. They don't need to know your sign. No. Like, I mean, it doesn't matter what you're doing. Listen, what's the harm keeping it brief? Yes, brevity. And then it gives the interviewer something to ask you about. If they want more on something, they're going to ask you. Give them just a tiny bit. Give them a little taste. Another thing not to do, use one generic resume for every job listing. You need to personalize each resume and make it fit to that job title. That's a great one. You know what I mean? It's true. Don't just print out 40 and drop them off at whatever you see on Monster.
Do not make recruiters or hiring managers guess how exactly you can help their client. Let them know what you have to offer. That's what Woods did for a living. He was a recruiter. Make sure you don't explain how past experiences translate to a new position. They say that candidates should avoid jobs where they have no experience. They absolutely should. Okay, so here's an example that they give. So don't explain how past experiences translate to a new position. Are you guys confused by that? So you're like, hey, yeah, I was a mechanic, but you know what it taught me? Yeah. It taught me people skills and I can really deal with people. So I'm qualified to sell these. Or like the example they gave is maybe you were a high school English teacher, but you're applying for a new job. You can cite human resource. resource management because you have people skills, record keeping, writing, and training because of your other job. Say, hey, I worked at Arby's, but let me tell you why I'd make a great astronaut. Yes. I kept everybody fed and they were on point every day. And you know what? In the space shuttle, they got to eat. I've got a good tip for your resumes, people out there that are looking for a job. Put as many numbers on your resume as you possibly, possibly can. Yeah. You know, 150% of goal, 200% of goal. You know,
Top achiever of beat budget by 90%. I mean, the stuff that I looked for as a recruiter that recruited salespeople, numbers. That's what I want to say. Well, what about people who aren't in sales? Well, then they're pretty much screwed. Yeah, because you wouldn't be looking for them anyway. Right. What you were looking for was people that had those. And I'm talking about people that have performance-based jobs, that your salary and your commissions are based on how you perform. Speaking of numbers, Sabrina's our new weather girl, and yesterday it was a warm one. But it was weird because it was also kind of thundering. If you don't know it, the Mikey Show broadcasts from Mission Valley from the Booze Allen Hamilton building here in downtown Mission Valley. Downtown Mission Valley. Yeah, right in the middle of the metropolis of Mission Valley. Downtown. And, you know, the Booze Allen Hamilton building, of course, is... Well, I don't know. Sabrina says that your dad... It's Mike Booz. My dad's friends with Mike Booz. Mike Booz? Mike Booz. Okay. You like Booz? I like that. I'm saying it like you were saying it, but you were... Mike Booz. Okay, Mike Booz. You are the daughter of somebody that's obviously very well off. You're part of the Ritz. Ritz, yeah, as in Ritz-Carlton. Yeah, Ritz-Carlton. So tell me this. You don't really want the job.
No, my dad's making me do it. Did you go to UCLA? I go to UCLA. I've been going there for a couple years now. And he's just making me, I don't know, do something in the summer. So what's the weather going to be like today? It's going to be nice. It is. That's it. It's going to be nice. Stay nice. Nice. Tomorrow's going to be nice. Yeah. Yeah. So be brief. You're being brief. I like that. Yeah. So go to the beach and stop crying about everything. Yeah. Well, what have people been crying about? Thunder and it's too hot. It's like get an AC or have your driver get an AC. What have you been doing in the, you know, nice weather that we've been having? What kind of stuff do you like to do, Sabrina? I stop at the pool. I got a manicure. pedicure, a massage, and I had some cocktails in my girlfriends. She's 21. Maybe 22. It's none of your business. Just your boss. I'm your new boss. I am doing this for free. Nobody hates the boss of me. There you go. That's Sabrina. You're all done. Thank you. It's fun to have you in here.
And Sabrina. Don't you all feel like you've learned a lot? Yeah, I know that it's going to be nice. Nice. It's going to be nice today. It says a lot. Speaking of Sabrina, Kourtney Kardashian is being sued. Don't know if you know that. She is. She also, her family had a little kid's clothing line. They have Dash for girls. And then they had another store called Smooch. Whoa. A girl would name her store Smooch. If I was opening a store and I told and Woods said, what are you going to call it? And I said, Smooch, he'd have me arrested. He'd call the police. I know. Well, another clothing company is suing Kourtney Kardashian because they say that she failed to pay over $2,000 for items she sold in this kid's store, Smooch. Yeah. So there's a hearing. It's been said January 3rd. Yeah. If I said to Woods, hey, dude, I'm going to open a store. Called Smooch. He'd go, yeah, creep. Yeah, you're disgusting. You're disgusting. You're a filthy creep. Courtney actually closed the store last year, though. But she's still being sued. Oh, Smooch. Smooch. Smooch, magooch. Anybody got anything that they want to promote happening this weekend? I do. You do, Woodsy? Well, I'm getting LASIK today at Clearview. Nice! Clearview. I'm really excited about it. So excited. And you know...
We have one of the San Diego brewers in here. I don't know if you guys knew. Yes. Chris Brooks back here. He's actually a stand-up comedian. He's performing tonight at the Comedy Palace at 8 o'clock, and he is hysterical. He's on your baseball team. He plays in Mean Left Field, too. Sunday. There you go. Sunday. Oh, I'm sorry. Sunday. Sunday at the Comedy Palace? Sunday, Sunday, Sunday. Where is Comedy Palace? Nice, dude. Claremont right off of 163. That is very, very cool. Sunday, 8 o'clock. And I'm playing in a bocce ball tournament with the radio station tomorrow. Yeah. Nice. Hell yeah. Where is it again? It's at Doug Beach in Del Mar. Very cool. Very cool. I love it. At the end of the show on Friday, I give you my testimony. I tell you about my story. And the reason that I do is in hopes that there is a part of my story that you can relate to. There's something in my story that you can. That you could say, yeah, that sounds like me. You know, I've talked a lot about how when I was a kid, I felt so much different from other kids. And it wasn't just how I felt around them when I was a big group of kids or a small group of kids. I always felt different. Part of it was because I was a real smart kid. But the other part of it was that I was very, very insecure. I grew up real insecure.
But in addition to growing up feeling insecure, I also felt I also have very low self-esteem. Some of it I created myself and some of it was a result of sexual abuse when I was a little kid. There may be people that are listening right now that you have that in your past. You've never told anyone. And that's why I tell you my story. Because of where it led. If you've listened to my program for any length of time, you know that my history is in addiction. I can be addicted to anything. And I have been. Earlier, we were talking about the different ways that you would try to instill in your kid a sense of self-esteem. How can you instill in your kid a sense of self-esteem and a sense of self-worth? That is something that I just...
I didn't have that when I was growing up. I did not have a sense of self-worth. I didn't have the intellect when I was a kid to explain the concept of worthless, but that's how I felt. I felt worthless. In fact, all through high school and all through my 20s, I felt worthless. I may not have acted like that. I may have acted like I had it together, but inside, I felt worthless. If any part of that sounds like you, And you were or are at a point in your life where you feel like you don't have any hope in your life. That's where I was. When I was 33 years old, I was addicted to alcohol. To the point where I would have to drink, get sick, come back, drink more. I'd have to take sleeping pills to go to sleep. I was also smoking. And I knew, I knew that I was going to die. There was no doubt in my mind that I was going to die.
And the reason was because of the health. I had really, really bad health. I was laying in bed one night, and I knew I had to do something. I called Rebecca. She was my girlfriend at the time. And I told her that I was thinking about going into rehab. Up until that point, admitted to her that I had a problem. And I remember she started crying, and it was tears of joy. And she told me that. She wanted to make sure that I knew that she was crying because of how happy she was. And I hung up the phone, and I was drunk. But at that point, I drank so much that I could speak without really sounding like I was drunk. At that point, I just needed alcohol to function. And I was staring up at our ceiling, and I asked, out of hopelessness, completely being lost, I asked Jesus Christ to come into my life. Had no relationship with him at all.
And he did. And then he started to change me. And today, I'm a living, breathing testimony of what he did. He remade me, continues to remake me, continues to change my thought patterns, the way that I think, the way that I act. It wasn't a cure-all. It isn't a cure-all. That's not what it was about. It was leaving behind hopelessness. I am no longer hopeless. Not at all. There's always good and there's always bad in your life. But it was through his power that I changed. And I only tell you that because I know there's people listening right now that are desperate and hopeless. If you are, go to MikeyShow.com. And on the top of the page, there's a section that you can click on that says help. And if you go there, it'll get you help for all the different stuff that I've mentioned. You can find help for addiction, depression, eating disorders, any of that kind of stuff by going to MikeyShow.com. And know that you don't have to be...
Hopeless. There is hope for you. There was hope for me and I found it through Jesus Christ. At the end of the show, I play, at the end of the show on Friday, I play a song and I'll switch the songs up. This one is called Pieces. It's by a band called Red. It's always lyrics. And I choose this one because it describes exactly where I was when I formed that relationship with God. And there may be something in it that you hear that changes you. I hope so. Lovely and talented Hillary is up next. We'll see you again on Monday. The Mikey Show is out.
