What a show. Oh my goodness, do we have a show just jam-packed today. Jam-packed show. Welcome to Mikey's Show. I'm Mikey. That's Woods. That's L-O-B. That's Jay, our producer, and our phone screener is Chris. That's Chris. I did not put on a watch today, which makes me feel so nude. I always wear a watch. You do. Always wear a watch. You have a tan line. I know. Eat my chicken. Why did you forget it? I don't know. I do know. I planned on wearing a special watch for John Foreman. Oh, my gosh. Can I please vulnerable? He's a dude. I know it. Let me be vulnerable. I think he's a married dude. Gosh, darn you. Happily married. It isn't about gay. Isn't it? He's cute. He's a good-looking guy. He's sharp. I want to appear presentable, okay?
I want to appear presentable. Stop laughing at me. With you. With you, yes. We're laughing with you. Near me. You're laughing near me. Woods does the same thing when the Charger cheerleaders come in. Right. I get it. For good reason, right? I get that. I thought on a day that we're having an important person, John Foreman, the lead singer of Switchfoot, coming in, that maybe I would look presentable. The watch wasn't anything special. It was just nice. It's your Switchfoot fan club watch. No, it isn't my Switchfoot fan club watch. It was just a watch and it was nice and I was going to wear it. And I forgot. And so I left the house without it. Now, I could have just said right now, I could have just said, hey, I forgot to put one on. But I thought, you know what I'll do? I'll make myself vulnerable. Now, LLB, did you dress up for John Foreman? I did not. Jay? No. Mike, is this the watch where when the minute hand gets to 12, it goes ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding. I don't have a watch that does that. You don't? No. Does it dare you to breathe at one point? Or move? I don't know. It's both. I dare you to breathe.
That's right. I dare you to breathe. I dare you to lift yourself up and breathe right up off the floor. I dare you to breathe. I dare you to breathe. Like you never took a breath. Like you want to live. See, it makes a lot more sense. I'm going to tip him off on that. Amazing. A recording of Jay. Hopefully she gets put in the general populace, whatever it's called. General populace. There, I got to know. Did you? I think what you were searching for there was general population. I'll get it out if you give me long enough. Hopefully she gets put in the general populace, whatever it's called. General populace. See, there it is. That's not even a rhyme. That's not it. You said general population. It was close. Genual. Yesterday, Jay asked me if I was going to be eating any salsa. Hey, do you know how to salsa dance? What kind of dancing is that? Is that salsa? He's my dad. Yeah. Every dad does that. He's a dad. When do you start doing that? I don't know. All my life. It's so great. American online, my dad says. Your Statler brothers instead of Stater brothers. The end of the physical year. The end of the physical year. It's just Jay. One of my favorite Jay-isms.
No matter how many times you correct the dad, the dad just keeps doing it. Whatever. Whatever. Yeah, he acts like you are a nitpicker. Yeah, you are. Like, you're just so perfect. That's what dads do. And Jay. Like, oh, what? Like, it really matters. Come on, you knew what I meant. Genual populace is my favorite. Hopefully she gets put in the general populace, whatever it's called. General populace. There it is. There, I got it now. We're so much better now. The looks on our faces when one of those moments occurs. Woods described it best yesterday when he said, it's like Columbus coming to the new world and discovering spices. And silks in the West Indies. Word of the day is alphabet. When I say alphabet, between now and 10, caller 9 gets, you will get a single day pair of tickets to Comic-Con, which is sold out. So get ready for that. Now, yesterday, we kind of had a coup in terms of who we had on the air yesterday. There's a bounty hunter named Leonard Padilla who is suing Casey Anthony and her attorney.
because they flew him out in 2008 to look for Kaylee Anthony. And he watched the opening statements in the trial, and they said, yep, she was dead the whole time, and our girl Casey knew it, but she'd been trained to not talk about things that were real bad. So Leonard Padilla, who is probably the best bounty hunter in the United States, who had been flown out there already, said, well, they wasted my time. And I posted a $50,000 bond for her. And I spent seven days in their house and with that family and hanging out with Casey and had meals prepared. Eating fish patties real good. With Casey. Crazy. And we found all that out yesterday in this interview that we did with him, which in 23 years of radio was the...
most compelling interview I've ever done. And we're going to play it back today at 8.30. It was unbelievable. And like I said, John Foreman from Switchfoot will be in at 9. And they are going to premiere their brand new Switchfoot single right here on FM 95. It is opening day at the races today. And Comic Con opens tomorrow. So a big week here in San Diego. Yesterday was Woods' birthday to kick it off. Started with Woods' birthday. Moves on to the opening day at the races. Then Comic Con. And we sort of end the week with Lauren's boyfriend, Matt Commerce's birthday. But all in all, a very big week. What is that, Woods? Some new lotion I got. Can I see it? Sure. Do you like it? What the heck?
I knew it. I knew you were going to. Looks like a bottle of gin. A cheap plastic bottle of gin. Oh, it's so good for your hands. Oil-free Cornhuskers lotion. Smells like dad lotion. Heavy-duty hand treatment. Smells like dad lotion. What's the deal with this? I have really dry. No, no, no, no, no. Oh. I know that you have dry hands. Real dry. What's the deal with this? It's lotion. I know that. What's the deal with it? My grandfather used to wear it. And when I saw it. This actual bottle? He used to use this actual bottle? That brand. Where'd you find it? CVS. At the very bottom shelf. It's like 40 cents for a bottle? About $2. I think my grandfather used the same stuff. I recognize that smell. Does it? Does it? It doesn't really work that great. Oh, yeah, it does. Well, Woods, how could it if it's $2? It's for Cornhuskers, pal. And who has rougher hands than Cornhuskers? Man, does that smell like an old dude. I mean, it smells like an old man. Oh, get used to it real good. I think the reason that you have dry hands is because at one point in your life, you started using lotion and it dries your hands out. Could be. Chapstick, same bit. Could be. Addictive, you know. Happened to me with cocaine, you know. I wasn't addicted to it. I just like the way it smelled. Exactly.
Oh, come on. What's the matter with you people? I was joking. Don't you know a joke when you hear one? I was trying to. So opening day, L.O.B., Lauren O'Brien, this blonde girl here to my right, posted a picture. Well, didn't post it. She sent me and Woods and Jay a picture of her yesterday because she got her new hat for opening day. Giant. Grotesque. And I looked at the picture and I went. First, when I looked at the picture on my phone, I thought, I didn't know who sent it. I just saw a picture. And I did not recognize it as LOB immediately. What I first thought was, is that it was like a fashion model. Get out of here. No, no, no. I'm being serious. I went, oh, wow, look at that. That's cool. And I thought, it obviously has to do with where the surf meets the turf down at Old Del Mar, right? And then I realized.
Oh, holy crap, that's L.O.B. She's got her new hat, put on her glasses, chick looked like Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's. You know what I thought? What? You thought a spring had broken, you went off a diving board. You went off a little diving board. Then a bigger diving board. Then a bigger diving board. Men are so interesting. You really are. How's that, L.O.B.? Because, okay. I only go to opening day like once every three years. So this year I was like, you know what? I'm going to get into it. I'm going to get a hat. So I went to the store and I got like the biggest hat that I could find almost as a bit. And I thought it looked so ridiculous. I put it on in the car with my sunglasses on and took the picture and made my face like try to look serious. Like I can't believe I'm wearing this thing. So pretty. And then it blew up. Yeah. Men. Look dynamite. Yeah. My wife loved it. Yeah, so did my wife. She looks so pretty. I think my wife was a little jealous. I could tell. I can only say that because she threw me under the bus for being jealous. It's a true statement. Since we're throwing each other under the bus for being jealous, she looked at it and she goes, that's really pretty. She was probably of the same mindset that I was, which was, what's the big deal? I don't think that was what was happening. Nah.
But, you know, we're going to post it again. And people get to see what LOB is going to look like today for opening day. And if I were you, LOB, I would not reveal where you got the hat because then you let people lay on the secret. There was only one of them. Wow. Then you can tell. I got it from Pangea in Del Mar. Really? Of course you did. Pangea. Best hat. May I ask you a personal question? Yes. What's a hat go for these days? And you know what? That makes me think. Maybe we should guess. I'm going to guess that a fancy hat like that is 50 bucks. Woods. 45. Jay? 28. L-O-B. It was 45. Which I told Woods this morning when I came in. You did. Whatever. Oh my goodness. But there was ones that were more intricate. That was just a very...
Plain, I thought. Very elegant. It is. Very elegant. It's beautiful. What are dudes supposed to do? Suits. Suits. Yeah. Seersucker. Yeah, seersucker. Light color. What's that? Seersucker. Like that gingham material. It's like a paper towel. Don't know any of the words you're using. I'm just going to wear a button down. Jay's wearing jeans. You're going? Jay? Yeah. Really? Mm-hmm. Got my tickets right here. Bam. Who are you going with? Your wife? Hey, how'd you get four tickets? Because I'm rolling deep. I'm going with Adam. You're going with the Adam? With Adam. All right. Did your wife ever give you a hard time about Adam? Because you guys are in love? Yeah, you guys hang out a lot. Well, we're doing it as a station bit. No, that's a good one. Today's a station bit, yeah. I'm only going to be there for a little bit, but he told the client we would come out for a little bit. That's a great one. I wonder if Kim buys that. The old station bit? Yeah. Hey, babe, it's for work, so. Work thing, so. Got to go. Hey, listen. What am I going to do? The wifeys are going. No? No. Only going to be there for. I'm going to go out there, bam, in and out. Well, I know that my work wife and my home wife and your wife, you know, when Woods and I or you and Bauman talk on the phone too much and all that stuff, oh, it's Woods. You know, we're always hanging out. Yeah. And the ladies will get on you about that stuff. My wife's favorite is when she walks in the door from work and the phone rings and it's my friend Bauman and I talk to him for an hour when she walks in the door. That would...
That would get Rebecca probably bummed. Well, feast. Jay's going to opening day and L.O.B.'s going to opening day. You are not, right? Right in the middle of nap time, pal. I'm not either. I will tell you this, man. If you plan on going, just know if it's the first time you've ever been to opening day, when you arrive, you won't be sorry because there will be plenty of eye candy. Whether you're a man or a woman, you're going to see some very, very handsome men and you're going to see some very, very beautiful women. And they're all dressed up and they're all wearing the hats. And it really is a showcase of glitz and whatnot. Now, what I will also tell you is that if you are presently taking any medication for high blood pressure, maybe you call your doctor and ask if you're supposed to up that today while you're trying to get in.
to the Del Mar fairgrounds for said opening day because it's a freak, it's a freaking, freaking beating. More than 40,000 racing fans could show up today where the surf meets the turf out in Old Del Mar. And last year it was 45,309 human beings, human souls. For opening day? That's all I needed to hear, by the way, to sway me against going. Yeah, 40,000. The fair got me bad enough sitting waiting on Via Del Valle for 45 minutes to go eat a corn dog. Opening day at the races makes the busiest day at the Del Mar Fairgrounds look like child's play. I've only done it once. Now, again, it's worth it when you get there.
When you get there, there's nothing like the excitement. You literally, it raises the hair on your arms with the sound of 40,000 people. And that, and literally Del Mar is one of the most beautiful racetracks in America. I mean, next to like Churchill Downs, it is absolutely stunning. And it's San Diego. So the ladies, they tend to be pretty. They're all dressed up. There's nothing like it. but getting in there. Holy Toledo. Taking a shuttle in. Are you? With some shuttle stations around. Noah Be Good is an invisible shuttle that flew. A helicopter. Yeah, that'd be solid. Helicopter, helicopter. Not that day. Helicopter, helicopter. That's not what we meant at all. It is going to be an experience. Helicopter, helicopter. Heard you the... Helicopter, helicopter. All right.
That'd be a nice way to get in there, huh? On my helicopter? Helicopter. Helicopter. Short ride. Yeah. Be a long ride. Skinny ride. It'd be a thin ride. Be a thin ride, wouldn't it? Shut up. Be a pinchy ride. Be a big, long. No. Be a gray. You guys. Serbian. No, no. Bushwhacked. That'd be one ungroomed ride, ALOB. It gets a little hairy going around the turn, if you know what I mean. Yeah, minus the little. Big. You're right. Thanks, Mikey. So there you go. Woodsy, we got actual news to report in the lockout in the NFL. Yeah, I've been going to law school at night so I could surmise what the hell's going on with the lockout every day. Essentially, lawyers for the NFL and the players met yesterday. They worked into the night to try to get a deal done.
What they want to do is they want to put this up for a vote today. Now, early returns this morning say they're not sure if it's going to be done for a vote today. But if that's the case, it'll be voted on tomorrow. What they do is they write it all out. They get it all prepared. Then they hand it to the representatives from the 32 teams. They have to read it over and then sign off on it. I think you said yesterday that if they agree on this thing, it's going to be good for a long time. Yeah, 10 years is the deal that they're looking to do. Good, because I don't want to deal with this again for a decade. Exactly, exactly. And, you know, there are some other things that are standing in the way, though, and this is pretty interesting stuff. So there are 10 plaintiffs that are suing the NFL, led by Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Logan Mankins, and our own Vincent Jackson from the Chargers. And what they are saying is... Jackson was franchise tagged before all this stuff went down. So he gets an average of what the top receivers in the league make. Now, what could hold this whole CBA up are players like Tom Brady, Vincent Jackson. Really? They want compensation. Vincent Jackson wants like $10 million if this deal gets done. And so they're suing the NFL. So you've got all these lawsuits going.
They were talking to a guy from ESPN, his name's Adam Schefter, and they said, is Vincent Jackson really going to hold up the NFL season for 1,900 players, the clubs, and the fans? He's too smart a guy for that. He went to Twitter, Vincent Jackson did, and said, appreciate the support, guys. Can't believe all you read or see in the media. I have made no demands. I want to play ball like the rest of my peers. So it sounds like if the deal gets done, these players possibly will drop their lawsuit. I hope so. Another crazy story out of this whole deal is the freaking punter for the Minnesota Vikings. The freaking punter. I'm sorry, man. No offense to punters, but you just should zip it. Zip it and just go punt. And kickers. And kickers. Chris Kluwe is his name. He said on Twitter, the new bit, sigh. And once again, greed is the operative byword. Congrats, Breeze, Manning, Mankins, and Jackson for being that guy. Douchebags. Punters and kickers may be myopic in the way that they don't understand that most people see them as kickers and punters. Correct. Most people. Now, there's a few people that don't. Their wives, for instance. Their father-in-laws. Their father-in-laws do not see them as kickers and punters. They see them as superstar football players. Yeah, athletic football players. Yes. Maybe kids in the neighborhood. Kids in the neighborhood. Possibly. Young kids. Young kids. But most people identify them as a kicker or a punter. I will never forget.
For as long as I live, I was standing on the sideline of a Monday night football game at the new Cowboys stadium. And the punter for the Carolina Panthers was looking at my wife. And I like, oh, boy, get the hell out of my way. And he's doing his little lame warm up kicks into the net. And he was like the ball bounded over my way. Yeah. And I picked it up and I kind of flipped it to him. No, thanks. Hey, appreciate it, man. Nothing. Looked at me like I had. KKK hood on. I mean, he looked and I was like, easy, dude. Yeah. Who are you? But you did have a KKK. That was the weird thing. That was the weird thing. That was kind of the strange part of it is that, you know, Woods was... And a David Duke t-shirt. Yeah. It's like easy punter. Yeah, how come you have a t-shirt on right now that says, I support David Duke? DD for Prez. DD for Prez. Let's see. Easy punter. So, Lauren O'Brien's boyfriend, her... Did you just say, mmm? Jay, when I mentioned her boyfriend? Maybe. He didn't even know what he's mmming anymore. Spy curious. He's awfully smooth. Ken doll. Get it? Anyway, Lauren O'Brien, L-O-B, her boyfriend, Matt Commerce, BFMC, he competed on television locally, and he is one of the people moving on to Los Angeles to be auditioning for the TV show The Voice. Bam!
Hollywood! Hope he didn't break his ankle. That was a reference to Woods because Woods and Jay went up to Los Angeles to be on the show Wipeout. I was talking to a friend of mine about it the other day and said, you know, hey listen, sometimes you do well and other times you do well but not as well as you want and stuff. My brother says, well how's Jay and Woods. And I said, well, you know, one of them maybe hold a little animosity towards the other one, but I don't know. A little? I think some words were exchanged on the battlefield. Can't really say too much until we watch the episode. Nine short days away. Well, yeah. Eight short days away. Well, here's the thing. We are doing a wipeout viewing party since Jay and Woods are on the show. It's going to happen in eight days, 13 hours, 34 minutes. We've got a countdown going on on MikeyShow.com.
Dave and Buster's viewing party. And to watch Wipeout, to watch Jay and Woods on national television. Right here from the Mikey Show. They're going to be on there. And it's July 28th from 7 to 9 p.m. We're going to be giving away Dave and Buster's power cards. Hey, can we still vote now? There's just a tiny picture of Matt on NBC San Diego because he was day one's winner. So they were just showing you how to vote. Can you? No, he already won. He already danced. Every day it moves on to a new pairing of people. So five lucky musicians are going to move on to a VIP audition in L.A. for The Voice. Can you guys imagine what if Jay and Woods are going to be on Wipeout on national TV and then L.O.B.'s boyfriend, Matt Commerce, BFMC, makes it. On to The Voice. It would be awesome. So awesome if Matt's on that. Special thank you to everyone that voted for Matt. No, Matt. Commerce. Commerce. And ones came out strong for that. Yeah, they did. It was really great. Rupert Murdoch got attacked yesterday in Parliament when he was doing his testimony. We have audio of it. Why is Rupert Murdoch... First of all, this is a big story.
It's a huge story that I haven't really talked about. And I don't feel like an adult because I haven't really talked about it. But I think it's boring. But it's actually one of, it's probably the biggest story in the world. In the world. And I haven't talked about it. So I'll tell you about what the biggest story in the world is when we come back. So coming up in minutes. If you quit, it's going to follow you for the rest of your life. So. Be a part of the Mikey Show now. Hey, Rip Van Biggen. Shoot him a text. 949mikey at gmail.com. And. Toyota owners, San Diego Toyota dealerships have a $24.95 lube oil and filter replacement for United States Armed Forces members and vets, including your immediate family. Sophisticated pallets. Oh, really? Woods. I mean, hey, listen, I did snuff on the plane, okay? And Jay. I have a pond. I built a pond in my yard. On FM 94.9. Padilla from yesterday, which was the best interview that I've ever had in 23 years of radio. And so Woods said yesterday during a commercial break, he goes, man, you should replay that. And I said, I think you're right, man. I think we have to. No doubt. So we will replay that interview with Leonard Padilla. He's a bounty hunter, and he was actually working for Jose Baez and Casey Anthony and is suing Jose Baez now for 20 grand. And you'll hear why, and you'll also hear things that you've never heard about his very, very up-close hanging out with Casey Anthony before he knew what we all know now.
If you like insight to stuff, you'll love this interview. Oh, yeah, man. It is good. John Foreman from Switchfoot will be in here at 9, premiering the new Switchfoot single right here on FM 94.9. So you'll hear it here first. So before we went to break, I mentioned that there's a lot of things that happen in the news that are very grown up that I just don't mention because they seem too grown up for me. It's the kind of thing that my dad might be interested in, but I don't understand. Rupert Murdoch. He's the guy that owns Fox Television, but he also owns a lot of media outlets around the world. Very rich guy. And, you know, he's also very influential. Well, the reason that he's in the news is because some of his people that work for him in England were apparently hacking into people's phones and celebrities. Celebrities' phones. And they were taking private information from them. And they were publishing it in their version of like news rags. You know, like their version of the Inquirer. And the way that they were getting the information was not legal. They were hacking and busting into their phones. It was even put out there that they were doing the same thing to some victims of 9-11 families.
Now, what they would want from families in 9-11, I don't really know. But they were doing that. And yesterday, they called Rupert Murdoch in front of Britain's Parliament. See, already, I'm bored when I hear things like Britain's Parliament. But there was a few reasons that it was kind of crazy. Wacky guy. Listen. Can you just tell me whether or not the Taylor supplement included a confidentiality clause and maybe the other supplement did not? Oh, dear. Oh, no. The sitting is suspended for 10 minutes. We'll just take 10 minutes to clean him off and then... Poor guy's 80 years old, dude. Poor guy. He's 80. I understand. And it was not cool. Nobody deserves it.
Right, but yeah. It was shaving cream. But I don't. But he's 80. I would have rather it been like whipped cream. Yeah. At least you can eat it. Because you can eat it. You know, either way, it's embarrassing. Cheesecake. Cheesecake. No, that's to be, I think that would, the texture would hurt. No, pick it right off your pants and eat it up. No, it wouldn't hurt. I'll let you hit me in the face with cheesecake and I'll eat the whole thing. It'd be delicious. Dude, if I hit you in the face with a cheesecake, it'd break your nose. No. Cheesecake. Cheesecake isn't. like whipped cream or shaving cream. Shaving cream and whipped cream are, you know. It's not a brick. You could put your finger right through it. Put your finger in a cheesecake. Here he is apologizing. I would like all the victims of phone hacking to know how completely and deeply sorry I am. What kind of accent is that? Are you American? Are you British? Are you Australian? I mean, I know you're Australian. But why do you have so many different affectations? Apologizing cannot take back what has happened. Still, I want them to know the depth of my regret for the horrible invasions into their lives. I fully understand their ire. You don't hear that word a lot. We rouse their ire. He said that he was let down by the people that he trusted.
The people that they trusted. So obviously he thought that he was doing the right thing. And somebody screwed up and he's taking the fall for it. I think. I don't know. Neither do you. So don't start flipping out. There's another clip. Mr. Murdoch, do you accept that ultimately you are responsible for this whole fiasco? No. You're not responsible. Who is responsible? The people that I trusted to run it. And then maybe the people they trusted. I know there's people that are listening and they know that he's in charge of Fox News, which is a conservative media agency. And so I'm sure there are plenty of plebeians listening right now that say, well, there it is, Mike, isn't it? There's your conservative hero mounted up there on his altar. Well, how do you feel about him now? Your pagan idol. Go ahead, Mike, light candles to him.
draped with the sun newspaper right now, aren't you? Take quite a few issues, by the way. Looking body. Like a toddler. Can I ask you a question? Have you been following this story? Of course I've been following this story. I actually read. You see, I read the New York Times. I listen to KPBS. This radio station used. Following the Padres at all? You just made me start to shake. What do you think about Ashton Kutcher joining the new cast of Two and a Half Men? Excuse me, I have to vomit. Hey, are you going to go at the Del Mar races today? Be a lot of girls? Don Francisco this afternoon to participate. What are you protesting? Dairy prices. Real hot, bud. Yeah, that's true. I do know nothing about him. But Murdoch is going to. He's not my hero, by the way. He's not my hero. Not at all. You've never mentioned him. I've never mentioned him. Never once.
You journal about him, you dream about him. You worship at the altar called Fox News. Supposed you'd be voting for Sarah Palin, won't you? I don't even like Sarah Palin. You don't like hope either, do you? Tell me all the things you don't like besides gays, hope, and love. I don't dislike gays. Peace, you dislike peace. You hate peace. Against peace, why are you wearing a t-shirt? It's the peace symbol with a circle and a line. I want a free Tibet. to just get together and have a big bonfire, don't you? Mike, you have a shirt that says, enslaved Tibet. Mm-hmm. Which is, you know... I don't. I thought you did. I don't. I thought you did. Is that enough Murdoch? That's plenty. Are you satiated? That's absolutely plenty, Rupert Murdoch. Do we feel like we've heard enough? Plenty. All right, fine then. I'll give you one more Rupert Murdoch clip. The behavior that occurred went against everything that I stand for.
And my son, too. And not only... And your little dog, too. It not only betrayed our readers and me, but also the many thousands of magnificent professionals in other divisions of our company around the world. So let me be clear in saying invading people's privacy by listening to their voicemail is wrong. How dare you? Don't you try to... Class me out. Privacy. Advertisement. Mobile. That's just how they say it. Mobile. Call me on your mobile phone if you like any privacy. If you had any sort of class at all, you'd be more like Lauren O'Brien and eat vegetables. Vegetables. With privacy. With privacy. It's your privacy to do. This information is wrong. They are inconsistent with our codes of conduct and neither is any place in any part of the company that I run. But saying sorry is not enough. Shut up, please. I'm done with it. I wasn't even listening. I was playing that clip. I wasn't even listening to it. Is anybody over the YouTube Marine Corps ball invitations by joining the ranks of celebrities talking about going to the Marine Corps ball is Terminator 2's very own Linda Hamilton.
Hi, my name is Linda Hamilton. I don't know if you know who I am, but rumor has it that you like your actresses vintage. Oh boy. In 47 years. So I thought I would just take a shot here and try to find you. I'm going to leave the shades on because I was just, my eyes are puffy from crying all night long. I don't know. It was just a terrible night thinking about you and this situation. And then Betty called and I talked to her for hours and I know she feels terrible. So after my workout this morning and my shower, I just decided that I would try to reach out to you and say, look, I know that I am no Betty White, but I would be really, really thrilled. If you can't find anybody else, and I know that's unlikely, but if you can't find anybody else. Imagine if this Marine who asked Betty White was turned down because Betty White's making a movie. Imagine if he heard this, saw this, and turned her down. Go to the ball with you. I'm no Betty White. I am only half as mature as she is. Wink, wink. But I am twice as funny. So I think that works out.
And I don't want to get pitiful, so I'm going to go now. But, you know, please take me down. Oh, my gosh. Please, Ray. Call me. I picture her like she was in Terminator 2, crazy in that room. And they have her strapped in to the, she's like buckled down. It almost sounded like she was doing the character from the film. Sounded a little crazy. She sounds crazy. I mean, I'm sure she isn't crazy, but... Very desperate. It sounded like she's really, you know, she wants to get in the news. You think her agent called her and was like, hey, listen, this is a great bit. Nobody's seen hide her hair from you for 15 years. Ask some dude to the bowl. Just go on, make a YouTube video. Say that you talked to Betty White. You didn't, because she doesn't talk to you. And then go with this guy. Just go with it. His friends are not going to be impressed by Linda Hamilton.
Yeah, aren't they? I could probably get dinner with Linda Hamilton tonight. Hi. My name is Linda Hamilton. I don't know if you know who I am. I don't. I'm 24. Yeah. 24 years old. No idea. We know Betty White because she's relevant. She's been in the news a lot. She's coming out with a new movie. Oh, wait, wait, wait. My dad talks about you. You're very tan, and you were in a movie called... I forget. I just know you're a tan guy. A tan guy? No, no, that's George Hamilton. Then I don't know who you are. Yeah, that's a totally, that's a dude. And I'm just hearing this audio of you. You're a... I'm a female. I'm Linda Hamilton. But rumor has it that you like your actresses. And I like black guys, so I think that we're a good mix. And I can almost guarantee you that I'll sleep with you on the first night.
Guaranteed. Well, there you go. What a strange woman. Didn't expect it, but how could you? Who's next with this bit? Record day yesterday. They just, it was crazy what they did yesterday. All-time highs with their quarterly profits and revenue for the iPhone and the iPad. They sold 20.3 million iPhones in their physical third quarter. That's fiscal, Jay. Fiscal. Yeah, they are the leader now in mobile phones. Their stock was selling for $375 a share yesterday, which is a lot, which is an awful lot. So they did really well. Don't think it's a bad time to buy stock in Apple because it's only going to go up, you know, go up still, even if you buy two shares of it.
One share of it. It's going to go up. 5701949 is the number. Are we prepared to do air horn birthdays? Yeah. All right. Good morning, my little angel. Good morning. How are you? Good. Nice and woke up now? Yeah, that was a good wake-up call. Yeah. How old are you? 27. Aw, look at that. Nice. Married? Uh, not yet. Boyfriend? Yes. Got a boyfriend. How long have you guys been dating? About five months. Aw. Fresh. Real fresh. Feels real good. You are... Oh, wow, Woods, that was so weird.
Feels real good, Mike. Five months. Elizabeth feels really good. I bet you can confirm that, can't you, Elizabeth? Toss it out. Holy cow, Jay. That was so overboard, Jay. That was so far past any semblance of decency. Took my breath away. Well, on that note, Elizabeth, that's always a great time in a relationship. Five months, you're usually... Very in love at the five-month point. Yes, definitely. That's awesome. Well, what are you two going to do for your birthday? Well, actually, I have to work today. It's opening day at the races in Del Mar. I work at La Berge Del Mar. Oh, my goodness. Fancy. Oh, wow. And she's pretty. Girls that work at La Bears, you can't work there unless you're really pretty. Now, there's a new, in my hometown where I'm from in Dallas, Texas, there is a all nude male strip club called La Bears. It's actually the same thing. I swear, that's a true statement. I'm kidding. It's a nice high class restaurant. It's gorgeous. Beautiful. Yes, I work in the Kitchen 1540 part. You work in the what? The restaurant there. The restaurant is Kitchen 1540. And are you a line?
cook or what do you do there? No, the restaurant's called 1540. Oh, my bad. Sorry about that. I apologize. Oh, wait, I've eaten there. Is that across the street from where Epizodi used to be? Yeah, it's across the street from Pacifica. Yep. My wife and I actually considered getting married there. Oh, yeah. There's a lot of weddings there. They're very beautiful. That's a good restaurant, too. That's a good restaurant. You work there? Yes, I do. That's cool. Is that where you met your boyfriend? Yes, it is. That's cool. Wow. Look at you. That's pretty awesome. Just dipping the pen in the company real good. She didn't necessarily say she worked with him. He could be a customer. He could have been. Fair enough. You know, he could have been. Could have been. Could have been. Could have been. Are you a server? I'm actually a food runner expediter. There you go. Well, that's awesome. I will bring you your food and you will like me. Very cool, Elizabeth. You're my favorite person. I probably met you. I probably met you. Well, Elizabeth, happy birthday and, you know, Godspeed. Yep. Keep on keeping on. Keep drinking. You guys are awesome. All right. It's kosher. Oh, it's cash. It's cash. All right. Thank you, Elizabeth. We love you. All right. Cool, guys. Bye.

single. We're going to replay that Leonard Padilla interview at 8.30. You know what I think would suck if you were a marine scientist off the coast of South Africa, 241 miles west of Cape Town? I think it would suck a nine-foot great white shark jumping into the boat and landing on the boat's fuel and bait storage containers. You know what else would suck if that animal that we're talking about weighed 1,000? 102 pounds. Oh, wow. Radioed in for help, and they were pouring water over the shark's gills to keep it alive. Tied a rope around its tail, tried to get it back in the ocean, didn't work. Wow. So they just eventually towed the boat back into the harbor, and then a crane lifted the great white back into the water. You go inside the cage, the cage goes in the water, you go in the water, the shark's in the water.
Is that how Rebecca gets you in and out of the bathtub each day, Mikey? In Northern California, there's a private elementary school up there where apparently the owner and principal of this school has been suspended and have his license temporarily taken away so they can investigate whether or not he was, in fact, molesting some of the kids that were there. 43-year-old mother said, I didn't have any bad feelings about him at all. You are going to pick Woods or Jay because we're going to play movie plot hot potato. They're going to give me the movie plot and toss a ball back and forth. And I have to try to guess what that movie is. And if the ball leaves their hand, they're good. In fact, last time, that's exactly what happened. The ball had left Jay's hand. It was in the air when the name of the movie was called out. Jay was off the hook. Woods was running away from the ball like he would want to catch it. That's right. M1 Genie from Kearney Mesa, who would you like? You got it. Hang on the line. M1 Brooklyn, are you there? Yeah. Who would you like? Going with Woodsy. You got it. Hang on the line. Really no choice left at that point. We got 60 seconds to do these plots. Woods, you're starting, right? Yep. Here we go. Russell Crowe in the Coliseum fighting. Gladiator. This is a monster in space. Sigourney Weaver has to fight it.
Mafia movie in the 70s. Brando. Godfather. Macaulay Culkin. His family. I'm sorry. Oh, that one must. Right. Tom Cruise. Legal drama. You can't handle the truth. A few good men. Sorcerer movie just ended. Harry Potter. Tom Hanks has AIDS. Philadelphia. This is Harrison Ford. Harrison Ford. Harrison Ford. Harrison Ford. Indiana. Indiana Jones. Wait. No, no. There's a name. Raiders of the Lost Ark. Yes, thank you. This is You Complete Me, Tom Cruise. It's a name. Jerry Maguire. Yep. There's elves, there's gnomes, there's Gollum. Oh, Lord of the Rings. Follow the Yellow Brick Road. Wizard of Oz. Jimmy Stewart. It's a Wonderful Life. Eminem Raps. He's a rapper in Detroit. Nine Mile. Eight Mile. Little Robot Left Behind to Clean Up the Earth. Yeah! Yes, yes, yes. Woodsy won. Jay. A little robot left behind to clean up the earth? Yeah. What is that? Oh, that's it. I know what that is. Oh, I would not have got that one. What is that? Is it Wally? Is it Wally? Oh, I would not have got that. Who's Macaulay Culkin? Harrison Ford. You know who I'm talking about. That.
That is a guy named Harrison who drives an old Ford. Oh, a Mustang, yeah. He drives a Mustang. You call it Harrison's Ford. You call it Harrison's Ford. Jay's not having it. He's running over. He's up against the wall. Woods is pumping the Daisy BB gun, pointing. Wow! Oh, wow! Hey, don't get another. Oh, my. Oh, my gosh. He shot him in the thing. The thing? Oh, the hangy thing? Yep. Oh, gosh, Jay. Yeah. Sorry. He just got the dingly-dangly. Oh, boy. The Macaulay cocking. Oh, boy. Cocking. Harrison's Ford. Harrison's Ford. There's no gnomes in Lord of the Rings, either. That's incredible. You know, the gnomes. Gollum. One of them gnomes. They got little golems in people's front yard, and people steal them and put them on awful towers. You knew what I was talking about, though, didn't you? I did. M1 Brooklyn, what's he won for you? Yes. That's right. Hang on the line, will you? Thank you. All right. Oh, it's amazing. Let's see. So, Nat Geo. I'm telling you, I've been saying for a long time, that Nat Geo, it's got good guy stuff, man. Is he a rapper? No.
He is a television show, television channel called the National Geographic Channel. Oh, yeah. They show good stuff. They got a new TV show called The Indestructibles. And the whole premise of the show is people that have been captured on video that should have died but don't. Like this guy that didn't die. He did, though, fall 15,000 feet skydiving. Solo with a helmet cam. And his shoot didn't open. December 13th, yeah, it was like any other day. You know, just went to work and, yeah, it was a beautiful day. Blue skies. Michael and I were doing our jobs as usual, showing people a good time, introducing them to skydiving and filming their experiences. We were quite a long way out over the water and I noticed something off in the distance that turned out to be Michael.
Michael's parachute doesn't open properly. You get that sinking feeling in your chest that your friend is in a bad situation. Michael has one last chance, avoiding his malfunctioning parachute and triggering the reserve. I could see that he pulled all the handles that he could. And then when I saw him pull his reserve and the reserve didn't activate like it should, then I kind of thought, right, okay, he's a dead man. Jonathan watches his friend hurdle helplessly toward the ground. Michael, too, loses hope. I'm impacted with the ground, and I could hear it from 400 feet up in the air. Dude, I'm telling you, Woodsy, you get to see the entire thing. He's spinning, and you're watching the ground come up really fast, and the last thing you hear him say is, bye. Oh, wow. And then, bam, he hits.
And that camera stays on and you see grass blades. It is incredible. And the guy lived. How? How? That's why the show is called The Indestructibles. They've showed footage for this show, which I saw the commercial for it the very first time and immediately searched for it on the DVR and season passed it. They show. This one will blow your mind. They show from. an intersection, you know how there's cameras that just record everything on intersections? A car loses control and goes barreling, and it's an SUV. It looks like a Jeep Cherokee. Comes barreling through an intersection. And there's a guy that's right about to step onto the street from the sidewalk to walk across the street. And this thing, this Cherokee comes barreling down the street and loses control. And it actually flips and rolls. And on the flip and roll, Catches this guy as he's walking across the street. And I mean catches him in the middle of the vehicle. Flush. Like passenger side door. As it's flipping, boom, boom, boom. There he is. Bam. Hits him. Doesn't kill him. It's some of the most amazing footage that you've ever seen. And you go, there is no way. There is no way in the world that person is alive.
But all of the people on the show survived it. So you saw the skydive one? Yes. Is he walking or is he? Oh, I haven't seen the whole episode. I haven't seen the whole episode. I want to know what kind of shape he's in. Oh, yeah. It looks like it's going to be really good. It's going to hurt. Yeah. So yesterday, well, first of all, yesterday we actually premiered a few things. One thing that we premiered. was Rebecca Black's new song, My Moment. Sounds like this. Yeah, she's the girl that gave us the song Friday, Friday. Everyone knows it's Friday. And so this is her new song. Oh, wow. All right, well. So we premiered that, okay? But in addition to that, we also premiered the new song from L.O.B. called Angel of Light. She recorded in the women's bathroom here at the building. She said that she could do a better job in the bathroom on her phone, and she was right. In three minutes. She did a better job than Rebecca Black in three minutes. Multitasking. That she didn't do that. She did not do that.
She doesn't do that. She's a girl. She's female. Rebecca Black talking about this. I guess the big question a lot of people had was, how do you follow up a hit like Friday that just got so much attention? What was the pressure like in order to come out with something else that could rival that and be as good, be as popular? It's hard because Friday was such a hit. It's hard because I can't tell if you're being a jerk or if you're being real. To get something, you have to find the perfect song that kind of tells off the haters a little bit, but still shows that you're a serious artist. It's hard. Maybe hold off on the interviews for a couple years. Maybe keep looking for that perfect song, too. The haters. If you're out there. You talk about telling off the haters. How do you deal with some of that negativity? Obviously, you can put new music out there, but in those private moments, what do you turn to?
Cocaine. Heroin. My mom has been... Methamphetamine, Quaaludes. Oxycontin. Grass. Grass. A lot of grass. A lot of grass. Best supporter. With all of this, she's always supported me ever since I was a little two-year-old in dance recitals. So... As opposed to... She never supported me. She always told me I would amount to nothing. She was convinced from the beginning I was destined to be a loser. You never hear that. It's hard because you have to deal with bullying being a teenager anyways. And now to have the whole world, I mean, that's not normal. So, I mean, luckily the haters don't have to watch Friday or my moment. So they can turn it off if they want. They don't have to hate, but it doesn't bother me anymore. Stop saying that.
If you didn't like the attention, you wouldn't put out a second song, though. The whole world. Is that your sister, Hollywood? Really? She did have, like, 50 million views on that video. It's true. It's a true statement. A friend of mine lives in Rochester, New York, was telling me something that I grieved over a little bit, but you tell me. Maybe he's right, I'm wrong. But he likes this girl. that we will call Beth if he's listening online. And she invited him to, I'm using finger quotes, hang out, watch some movies. Okay? Do you understand this finger quote thing? Yes. Hang out. Like hook up? Listen, I'm using finger quotes. She invited him to come over and hang out. Okay. And watch movies. I'm going to try to put this lightly. He thinks she's hideous. That's what he said to me. And I scolded him.
It's what he said to me. He said, I think she's hideous. Easy, Hollywood. He said there's no way that he'd ever like her. He does, however, really like her roommate, who we'll call Jill. So he likes Beth as a friend and a friend only. Only. Only. And she's hideous. Yeah. Now, I'm dead silent on the phone. And I go, how do you reconcile? And he said, it's easy. There's absolutely no way, no matter what, that I'm going to hook up with Beth. So, what's the harm? Well, the harm is that you're leading Beth on. Aren't you? Aren't you? Aren't you? By hanging out watching a movie? You're not, you know, nude while you're hanging out watching a movie. You're just hanging out watching a movie. But you know she likes you. Don't you?
You've got an inclination. She likes you. I mean, you could prove in court that you didn't know for sure. Right. There is reasonable doubt. I thought she was just wanting to be a friend. I thought we were just going to be pals. We were going to eat stuff together. I thought she wanted to watch a movie. Can't two friends watch a movie? Right. Why can't we not just watch a movie? There you go. Can't guys and girls be friends? Yes. Can't we just be friends? I thought that's what girls say all the time. I had no idea. He needs to put it into the hideous girl, Beth. He needs to put it into her head immediately that he's interested in the roommate. What's her name, Tina? Jill. Jill. No, I didn't. That's not a real name. That's not a real name. You know that's her name. Maybe you don't change names on the kid.
Maybe don't ever tell the kid. I know. Maybe I have to tell him stuff. Yeah, just don't tell me the real one. Don't finger quote. Yes. So he likes Jill. Jill. Jill. Yeah. A.K.A. Tina. No. What? Oh, I didn't. I'm sorry, Bill, if you're listening online. Bill. Bill. Let me just edit that out of the podcast. Yeah, we can. Let me go, Woods. But anyway. I think the harm is that, yeah, this poor girl, she thinks he likes her if he accepts the invitation. Yep. Don't do it. And now, I guess I can't argue with what Woods said. That is stand up. If you let her know right away, hey, I'm not interested, in a nice way, you're at least being upfront and honest. You know, you're not hiding anything. You're not being sneaky. And you let her know, hey, I...
Although some people would probably say that's pretty cheese ball to go after the roommate when you know a chick liked you. It's tough to get it done. It's worked before, but it's tough to make it happen. What do you mean it's tough to get it done? It can't be a long-term relationship because the roommate is always going to want to side with the roommate. They have a code. They have to live together. You can sneak around. You can always sneak it on the side. Oh, boy. It's like a one-off. That's comfortable. It's creepy. So I wonder if he'll get Tina or not. Stop, what? Hey. You going to tickle Tina? You know, next time it's your friend and we have to change names. We won't be inverting the letters. I am going to give you some figures on traffic. I'm going to give you some figures on traffic. You're not, you don't know how much traffic there's going to be because of the races, and I'm going to tell you. Skeletor, that's Terminator's wife. I don't like how this is already beginning. That's an input email, by the way. So if you have input, you've been in that kind of a situation with a roommate or liking a roommate, liking a chick, whatever, call us 570-1949.

It's picked up a bit. West-north-west wind and ground swell combination along with some south-southwest really swell. Itched up another notch or so and looking fairly fun.
Still dealing with some low tides this morning, but they are leveling out. Look for ways in that way to chastise zone, shoulder high, maybe a few pluses in standout spots. Fairly clean right now, light and variable winds, maybe a slight little west wind chapter on it. Reef breaks out some ways, too, but due to the crossed-up combination of the swells, beach breaks appear to be better. Water temperature fairly warm, too, in the upper 60s as well. As the day continues, the morning at least, look for the tide filling in. It helps size and shape at all spots. Expects those westerly winds to pick up more, though. And right now, the sky is looking like it'll burn off relatively quickly, so not a bad day for a go-out. For up-to-the-minute surf reports forecast, go to surpline.com. You're so excited. Woods told me that. And I almost lost my mind. You can only buy it through the app store. And it's... They only come out with a new operating system every few years. And when they do, it's great. This does so much cool stuff. Word of the Day's Alphabet. It's Casey Anthony in San Diego. A lot of people wondering. They say that... You know, her former attorney, who she's still in close contact with, so is her attorney, Jose Baez, that he's a pilot whose plane is registered right here, Carlsbad. So a lot of people think she could be in Carlsbad. I kept my eyes peeled yesterday driving around. Me too. I did too. I really did. I lingered in the Carlsbad area. Yeah. Me too. I want to see her. I want to take a picture of her on my iPhone. All of us do.
Like dorks. We're all dorks. Yeah. You know, because we're not going to see her. No. I want to get on all fours and stand behind her and then have somebody else just push her shoulder. Push her over? Yeah. That's what I want to do. I want to pants her. Oh. Gotcha. Oops. Gotcha, Casey. I dropped my contact lens. There she goes. Look out! Oh. Leonard Padilla speaking to Casey Anthony is going to be on at 8.30. We're going to replay that interview. It's the best interview I've ever had in 23 years. Woods and Jay are going to be on the TV show Wipeout. Yeah. National television. ABC. Hollywood. Yeah, I'm so Hollywood I'm not even going. Yeah, you are. Yeah, you are. Yeah, you are.
The Wipeout Viewing Party is going to be at Dave & Buster's Mission Valley on Thursday, July 28th from 7 to 9. And that will be happening in 8 days, 12 hours, 20 minutes. We have a countdown going on at MikeyShow.com. You guys have fun. It's going to be great. Let's see. Also, we have John Foreman, lead singer of Switchfoot, coming in this morning at 9. And they're going to premiere the new Switchfoot song right here on FM 94.9. It's a weird place to hear it. I can't wait to hear it. So the traffic, it's going to get bad. It's going to get real bad. Why? Because the races are back and they say that here in San Diego for the weekend, traffic will in fact triple. Traffic, once again, traffic will triple.
Now, if you're going to be downtown because Comic-Con is going on, just know downtown they're expecting 126,000 people. 126,000 robots, vampires, wizards, goblins, ghouls. They're all going to be down there. 126,000. Now, the Del Mar races begin today. And as I mentioned earlier, they're expecting more than 45,000 race fans to be going in there today. And in typical Mikey show fashion, of course, Nancy Grace, our correspondent, is there right now. Are you there, Nancy? I have accepted your request to be on the show this morning. Is this television?
TV's Nancy Grace, that's correct. TV's Nancy Grace is on the line. Got it. You're going to be there all day covering what's happening opening day at the races. I will, Mike. And I think the question on everyone's mind is what will Top Mom look like? Top Mom is... She won't go. Top Mom will, in fact, attend the races. No, she won't. And she will... After being in disguise, Mike, I don't know if you realize how that works. Top Mom will not go to the races, Nancy Grace. Someone in a high profile, excuse me, murder case such as Top Mom will have to show up in disguise. What will she be? Will she be blonde? I don't know. She won't go. Maybe she'll be an African American. Maybe. Perhaps she'll show up looking Mexican. She can't. That's weird. Nancy Grace, first of all, I hate that you call her Top Mom. It's Casey Anthony. It's so dumb when you call her Top Mom. Second of all, she's not going to go to the races. 45,000 people would recognize her. 45,000 people, you would know a thing or two. You might be one of those people that knows a thing or two about horses. Right, Mike? Why would I know about horses? I guess you have not told your listeners about the illegal importing of horse meat.
I don't do that. I don't do that. Nancy, I don't import horse meat. That's freaking gross. Have you subpoenaed by the U.S. Supreme Court? No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. Undeniably no. No. Categorically no. Wow, that's interesting. I guess I'll have to check my sources. Yes, you will. TV's Nancy Grace. Yes. TV's Nancy Grace. Well, also that your people are famous for being jockeys, right? What time did your race go off today? First post starts at 2. Where can I find jockey Mike Esparza? I'm not a jockey. I'm not racing in the horse races today. I'm not. I'm not. You knew that. You did it as a joke. How much do you weigh, Mike? What? How much do you weigh? That's none of your business. How much I weigh. I would assume that is why you've been disqualified from your position. It's really rude. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I'm sure your relatives are very disappointed in you, Mike. Get off my phone. I've been looking for Top Mom today. You can look for TV's Nancy Grace reporting live. Goodbye. Goodbye, Mike. I'll see you at the races.
Horse meat. I hate her. I don't import horse meat. She said that there's a surplus of horse meat in your refrigerator as we speak. There is not. There might be. There might not be. She calls me and accuses me of stuff I don't do. You've got a surplus. I don't have a surplus of it. It's just what you can eat. I don't even have a little bit of it. Mike, do you or do you not like Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmer? I like that joke. But that doesn't mean that I import horse meat, and I think that's irresponsible. I feel like there's going to be some investigators at your house. That's disgusting. It's Mike's backyard. So hungry I could eat a horse. It's just a figure of speech. Yeah, Mikey. You don't have to take everything literally. Wow. 570-1949 is our number. If you want to text us, 949Mikey at gmail.com. This text from M1 Bamboo says, Mikey, the girl I just started dating is a bad kisser. Does it mean that she's automatically bad in bed? Well, first of all, in my world, you would wait until you're married to find out what she's like in bed. Yeah, because that's a good place to find out. Yes. Yes, it is. Thank you, Jay. Jay is now in agreement with me. Apparently, he's come over to the dark side. Well, that's what he's trying to say. Instead of doing a test drive, is this what he can assume? Take it out, see how it handles.
Really? So if you marry someone, first of all, it's like pizza. It's all good. Oh, it's not. It is, Jay. It is not. Okay. If it's a dead person, then you're right. Nope. Most people only keep their cars for like an average of five years. I mean, marriage is forever. Yes. So you kind of want to make sure that's a good fit. That is true. Look under the hood. Hey, my parents have been married 54 years happily. All right? Mm-hmm. There's no test driving? No, there was no test. As far as you know. Hanky-panky in the boys' room? No, there was no hanky-panky in the boys' room. In the boys' room. Smoking in there, too. Back in 1957, I'm sure my parents went into a boys' room. And made love. And made love. Well, here's my take. My take is that, first of all, if you're dating a girl, she's a bad kisser. Nothing wrong with talking about it. Yeah, you gotta train them. If you get into bed and you're married... You get into bed and there's something you don't like. You talk about it. You figure it out. A bad kisser belongs with another bad kisser. You either have it or you don't. Hey, you could teach. Teaching the other stuff is easier than teaching somebody how to kiss, I think. Well, easier doesn't qualify as impossible. I mean, maybe it is easier. Maybe it is easier, but it's certainly possible. What would you say? I don't like when you do that with your tongue. You do this. Well, you say, hey, you do it.
in a playful, joking manner. I've done it. In a playful, joking manner. Before I was married to my lovely wife, I dated people, as I'm sure she did as well. Who was he? Who's the name of the guy? Who's the guy you dated, Mike? You're obviously gay. Hey, Mike, what was the name of the guy you met in a singles ad in Blue Boy magazine? Blue Boy. Was he a chubby chaser? Oh. Can you have horse meat? How does that got me? That'll get you. That'll get you real quick. So not only was he gay, he liked chubby guys. What you call a multi-layer insult. Yes, several different. Jay is able to insult like an onion. Yes, peel, peel, peel. Peel it back and there's another insult. Oh, look, another one. He'll get you.
What you do is you are playful about it. No, you don't tickle. You say playfully, joking around me. You go, you catching flies? Oh, you're dead. Dude, you're dead. A giggle. A giggle. If you do it like I said, and you tickle him, it'll work. He's not teaching anything by tickling him. But you tell him. As they're laughing, you're a terrible kisser. Oh, that's terrible. First time I ever kissed somebody. Which was when you were four. Well, French kiss somebody. And let's be honest, that was an assault that you did? Yes, I did do that.
sexually assaulted another child when she was four. I had a run of it. One guy was napping. She was a serial kisser. One guy was napping. It wasn't a guy. It was a kid. You were a kid and he was a kid. One little boy was napping. I was also a little girl at the time. We're the same age. And then the other one was in a lake and I chased him. That's why I'm after him. I don't know that story. Almost drowned him. What? How old? Maybe five. It was before I got into kindergarten, so five. Wow. What did you do? I convinced him to go skinny dipping, and then I got into a part where we couldn't stand so that he would drown. Where were your parents? L-O-B. It was a different time then. You were allowed to run around the neighborhood and do stuff. Back then, in 1982, it was okay to be a sex pervert and five at the same time. Clearly. Skinny dipping. Hey. Little four-year-old kid. Hey. Want to get nude and swim? Well, if we went in our clothes, then our parents would have known. It was like a really hot day. You were really, like, you had it figured out. You figured things out. I used to chase the boys on the playground, but who didn't do that? Boys chase girls, girls chase boys. True. So, was it a lake? Yes, it was a cedar lake. That was the name of it?
No, a cedar lake means like the wood from cedar, so the water's almost like a reddish, rusty color. It's hideous. It's disgusting, I know. But yeah, so we got into this part. We weren't supposed to be doing... I didn't think it was possible for a creepy story to actually get creepier. But not only did she assault this kid when she was a kid and have them both remove their clothing, but she was also doing it in a... Blood-stained lake. Red lake. Red lake. With clay on the bottom. If you swam to the bottom, you could bring clay up. That's disgusting. That's hideous. So you chased him? Well, once we got swimming, I got to a point where he was either going to have to stay afloat and give me a kiss or we're going to sink together. So you said, kiss me. No, I just got, I was like, going after him. And did he give it? He's like, stop it, stop it. He didn't want to get away. And then I got him on the cheek and then we sang together. L.O.B. Like a song. L.O.B. has been horny from a really young age because she says four years old, kid was napping. She was supposed to be napping. Woke up, got frisky, stole a kiss. At four. At frisky. In preschool.
Yes. Anyway, so then comes middle school, and I had lost that aggressiveness. I was terrified, and we played spin the bottle, and it was time to go into a basement. Of course. I have a burning in my loins right now. It's reminiscing. Oh, my God. Sometimes Jay edits those kind of rough at the end there. I have a burning in my loins right now. Sometimes it's hard in commercial. I know. Let's hear it again. I have a burning in my loins right now. So when it came time to kiss him, it was the first time I had ever French kissed anyone. I was a little late in the game. And right afterwards he said, you know, you're not supposed to do it like they do in the movies. You shouldn't be moving your jaw around like that. Oh, goodness. Please watch closely as I use my lips.
Lauren, that is over the line to say that, right? It is. I know. Oh, babe. I didn't say that. That wasn't just now. Longer than it's ever been. Now you're just being shocking. You're not going to laugh your way out of it. Anyway. What were you moving your jaw like? Like a fish. Like a fish. Yeah. I'd only seen like dirty dancing and stuff. I didn't know. I'm going to. Describe what I just saw, and I'm going to describe it perfectly. If you've ever been fishing and caught a trout, a rainbow trout, and you take the hook out of the trout's mouth, and the trout is desperately trying to get water across its gills, picture what the trout does. Ew. Yeah, sign me up for that. Poor guy. Was that the last time you kissed like that?
Oh, yeah. I didn't kiss for another, like, two years after that. Did it harm you when he said that? No, it made me ship up. I mean, shape up. But didn't it hurt you? Easy, Jay. Shape up. Better day. Shape out. It made me think, okay, I'm doing it wrong. But it was also the first time I'd ever done it. But it did make me, I'll never forget, like, how not to kiss. Yeah. I first kissed at five. French? It was my idea. French? I don't recall. I don't think so. But it was at a cousin's wedding. We went on the side of the hall. Was it with a cousin? Yeah, were you related? No, it was a friend of the, it was a relative of the guy my cousin married. Gotcha. She was the flower girl and I was the ring bearer. Always a hookup. No, it's guaranteed. Always a hookup. Guaranteed.
When you get the call to be the ring bearer, you're kind of like... I'm in. She better be hot. That's all I know. Yeah, that's what I said to my cousin. She better be hot. I'll do it, but she's got to be. I said, I'll do it, but who's the flower girl? She better be smoking. And so, yeah, we went over there. I remember she had very curly, almost like Shirley Temple type locks. And I, of course, was already overweight. And she didn't have a lot of options. Had there been... one other child available. Even one. Probably would have played out differently. But lucky for me, I was the only five-year-old there. That's right. They have to put how many calories and fats in everything now when you go to a fast food restaurant? Well, they just did a study and found out they've been wrong. People ever do studies? That doesn't matter to you, Woods? I don't look at the calories, you know that.
Clearly. Well, I'm going to tell you how they were wrong when we come back. Little Sunshine has a temper sometimes, but he's not all bad. He's a real beef castle. It's on the Mikey Show wall. Guy just wrote, let me see. If you go to our fan page, facebook.com slash Mikey Show, M1 West, he just said that on the construction site, he's singing, I'm an angel. Thanks, guys. What is I'm an angel? Our very own Lauren O'Brien, L-O-B. Good looking blonde sitting over here to the right. Woods is left. She said that she could do better than Rebecca Black's new song in three minutes by just going in the bathroom and recording on her phone. Turns out she was right. Yeah, sure. Recorded it in the bathroom. She wasn't doing it. Somebody next to her. Well played. Great timing, pal. You realize we can make millions of dollars selling them. I know. And I need music behind me while I do it. San Diego's hospitals are the best in the nation. How about this? UC San Diego Medical Center, Rady Children's Hospital, and Scripps, La Jolla were each ranked nationally in their programs. Pretty cool. This is disgusting. Listen to this. If you're on a bus...
Better for you to hold on to those poles or to the straps. Or hover. Or hover. Microbiologists in Portland, blah, tested different parts of city buses and trains. They found the average cloth seat holds about 80 colonies of bacteria. The only dirtier place on a bus is the floor and not by much. Average floor has 97 colonies. So when you're sitting on that seat, it's got 80 colonies of bacteria. Less than those leather straps or poles that you hang on to. I wonder how many colonies are in the average stripper pole. I was thinking the same thing. They clean them after every dance. Yeah. Wipe down. Mike, I can speak to this. I actually have testified as an expert. Various court cases. I've done some swabs.
Woodsy, what's going on in sports? Well, if you didn't hear earlier, the Padres did win last night 4-0. Their record is 42-55. That's 13 games below .500, which is not great, but they will keep at it tonight against the Florida Marlins. It's Aaron Harang, who's pitched very well this year, against Ricky Nolasco. And I know you're very sad, Mike, to hear the news today that Chinese great Yao Ming has, in fact, retired from the NBA. It's sad. He was the number one draft pick in the 2002 NBA draft. And he has said in a statement very succinctly, I will formally end my career. Wow. There you go. See you, Yao. Thank you. Back to China, maybe. You'll be missed by us. Yao Ming. We're going to replay the Leonard Padilla interview from yesterday. We're going to replay it at 8.30. If you didn't hear it yesterday, it is... The best interview that I've ever been a part of in 23 years of radio. He's a bounty hunter, and he's talking about how he was hired by the Casey Anthony team to find Kaylee Anthony back in 08. Went out there and basically got duped and is now suing Casey Anthony and her attorney, Jose Baez, for $200,000. Switchfoot will be in here at 9 o'clock. They're going to premiere their new single right here on FM 94.9, the same radio station.
That broke their single. Back when they very first came out. If you're an M1. You're a part of something. You're a part of the Mikey Show Nation. We protect our own. We love our own. We love you as an M1. We are united as fans. And you belong. If you're an M1. An M1 is somebody that turns the radio down. Gets to their point. And does not cuss when they call in. We say no. The rules. And we love M1 Nation. In fact, M1 Nation will be the deal. I mean, that's just going to be the deal forever. And I mean this. I posted the other day on our fan site. I love our M1s and I mean it to my core. Oh, I love our listeners. And we really are. It's like a very, very exclusive club that anybody can be a part of. You just got to listen to the Mikey Show.
and recruit new M1s. So they started putting these calories. You drive through any drive-thru, it says Big Mac, 300 and some calories, whatever it is. Well, 20% of the meals tested by scientists have about 100 more calories than are indicated on the menu. Some of the foods are off by as much as 225 calories. Now, they found that this was more prevalent at the more popular restaurants. They did 42 fast food sit-down places. That's where they did these tests. Burger King, Olive Garden, Outback, McDonald's, Taco Bell, Chuck E. Cheese, all of these places. That's a recording taken out of context of me wheezing.
And Jay plays it to humiliate me and to point out that, yes, in fact, I am overweight. Give me food. Oh, calm down, Mike. It's just an article. It's an article. There's no food in the article. I want tacos and burritos. Okay, fine. We're just not talking about that right now. Focus. Quit throwing us off. That isn't me right now. You're saying chuggy cheese and then keep going. That was a clip. Boston Market listed that they had 358 calories in three pieces of dark meat chicken. But it turned out there was actually over 500 calories. How does that happen? I thought chicken was good for you. Cranberry chicken, cranberry pecan chicken salad at Bob Evans, which is a chain in the Midwest. They list. that the cranberry pecan chicken salad has 841 calories, it actually has exactly 1,100. Might as well eat a piece of cheesecake if you can eat that salad. You might as well eat two pieces of cheesecake. That makes me sick. A friend of mine wrote me and he said he felt bad for his wife because she spilled a whole super gulp or something. Big gulp.
No, but it was the one size bigger than that. The giant one. The double gulp or something. The Dumbledore. The Dumbledore. See you later. But all I know is, anytime I go to one of these places, I order a small because it's like a large. And I've never understood those big size drinks because does anybody ever finish that? No. Can't. And it goes flat. It goes flat. Watery. It gets watery. I have a friend who's, like, super overweight, and she starts the day every day. She has two of those. And from start to finish. Really? Yeah. How does she have two? Does she go back and get it? She goes back and gets another one. She has to have it. I'm like, do you... Coca-Cola? You know, it's a Coke or it's a dollar pepper. It's Diet Coke, Mike. It's Diet Coke. Those are, like, one of the biggest culprits of weight gain. Yeah, they are. The sodas and the fruit juices.
Yeah, I've cut it out. I don't do the sodas anymore. I have not. Clearly. Woods likes diet. Dr. Pepper. Yeah, regular Dr. Pepper. Diet. My girl, I drink the good stuff. The hard stuff. I think the more of those you drink, the more you want. Yeah, they are like crack cocaine. Addictive. They're darn good though. Dr. Pepper's, if I was going to drink a soda, I wouldn't. It'll get you. People are outraged in Milan because they were using mannequins that were actual people. They were wearing shorts, bikinis. They're in the window of a department store. People are walking by and they believe that that is the merchandization of the human body. And these are, you know, obviously Italian men and women that are models.
Oh, wow. Jay just sighed like, really? This is it? Jay's about to be an Italian model. Everyone, just buckle up. Never heard him do an Italian voice. So this will be the first time we get to hear him do an Italian. Hi, is this an Italian model from Milan? Did you just fly to Paris? Okay. I see. You're Italian. Yeah. So tell me. Speak your language. Did you. Excuse me, Italian model. Did you. Do you feel that your body, your human body is being. I am so well endowed that it does not bother me that people want to see me in windows.
This is the story of the J. Lifted straight from noon to the day. Oh, boy. What a clown. What a clown. We. We. We. Is this an Italian model? We. We. We. And then Como Sayama. Unbelievable. Wow. J something else. Oh, boy. Our number is 570-194-9. You want to text? You can do that, 949mikey at gmail.com. What is the white trashiest thing that you do, Woods? And don't care at all when you do it. We have a house that we've been in a couple months. We have in the master bedroom, there are two skylights. And it's a pretty high ceiling. And when you come home from work, as we do, usually around noon. It's hotter than blazes in there. It's bright. You can't nap. You can't do anything. I got a ladder and I took some brown pillowcases and I nailed brown pillowcases over the skylights. Oh, wow. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And could give a rat's ass. I don't care how it looks. All I know is when I walk in there now, it's cool. It's dark. When I get home today for a nap, dark and cool. Come on, nation.
Give me something. Something. Give me something. BFMC does a similar thing. He has a skylight and then a thin little stained glass panel, so he stapled a towel over the skylight. Oh, yeah, dog. And then he piles in this thin thing. He puts a couple pillows and then a sleeping bag, and then he ran out of things to stuff in there, so he hangs a winter coat at the very top of it. Skylights must be the deal, because I took a couch cushion and just pushed the whole thing up in the skylight. And you don't care. Well, now, Jay shocks me because he's married with kids. This was before I had... Oh, before. And because he's MacGyver and could make really anything. He was doing a lot of math and ran out of foil to foil the windows. That too. Is it white trash for a girl to drink out of the container and stand with the fridge door open? Yeah. Does she have a person that lives there too? No. What is she wearing? No, it isn't. Underwear. Or anything. Is her name Lauren? I mean, it's all hypothetical. Yeah, hypothetically. I don't think so. If you don't live with someone, then I think you're alright. Isn't that WT to drink right out of the carton? Yeah, but if you don't live with anybody, it's like, you know, if you sneeze in a forest and no one's there, will anyone hear the sneeze? Or if the tree falls. That's more of a common... Eating soup straight from the pot.
That's WT. That's awesome. What about pulling your car into your yard to wash it? On the grass? On the grass? Oh, you hee-haw. Are you kidding me? That one wins the prize. Why? Unless there's somebody listening right now. 5701949. I want to hear. I want you to call because you're bold about it. You don't even care that you do it. You can't have runoff. Why? Because you don't want soap and grime from your car to go into the gutter, so it goes to the ocean. Actually, it's illegal to wash your car in your driveway. Oh, boy. You. Go to the car wash. I don't want to spend $6 to get my car washed. Oh, my God. Woods, why does that make me angry? Am I hurt? Am I sad? Am I fearful? It infuriates me. It makes me irritated. Which part? My car's clean. Which part? The part that he will park his car on his lawn to wash it because he doesn't want runoff. It's not a dainty car either. No. Listen to this guy. And we'll let people call about the WT stuff they do. Listen to this guy, Jay, our producer. 48-year-old father of four. Married to a beautiful wife named Kim. Yesterday says to her, help me wash my truck. And then I help you wash your car.
And she said, no, I want to pay a guy six bucks to wash the car. And why don't you do the same thing? And he said, because I can wash my truck for free. And Kim said, it's not free. It's going to cost you a dollar for water and soap. They're haggling. It's not free. He says, now my truck's clean. Her car's still dirty. I win. I win. I win. I bet you he used. I bet you he used. A bottle of 99 cent suave that he got at CVS. His car smells like coconuts. Shampoo plus conditioner. I use Dawn because it's biodegradable. Yes. Which is slitting his own throat. He's got a film probably all over his whole car. Dawn. It's biodegradable. Hey, listen. You can sit here and make fun of it. You want to know the truth? By the time I die, I will have saved $8 my entire lifetime. That's right. And one billionth of this universe. Okay, Mike? I'll tell you a WT thing I'd do. And my wife will attest to it. If my wife is cleaning the rugs in the bathroom, rather than going to the dryer and get the clean ones, I'll just put a towel down and use a towel. Do it. Done it.
We're monsters. How about this? You wake up in the morning and you have seven dogs, hypothetically. Hypothetically. And there is some pee on the floor from one of said dogs and you throw a towel over it and just go to work. I don't know if that's white trash so much as just very lazy. What about... Leaving it for your wife to pick up. Showing up to an open house. Of new places for sale, knowing that you have no intention of buying a condo, but going there for the free barbecue and pretending like you're interested in buying a condo. Who does that? Who did that? Just a boyfriend of someone I know. Oh. Who may or may not have dragged his girlfriend there while they're on their way to lunch. Oh. Who was then full for when they went to the actual lunch. Oh. Oh. My gosh. I almost fell out of my chair. I like that guy. I don't even know what to say. What do you say? What do you say? Congratulations. Yeah. Realtors in San Diego, if you see Jay Isabel walk into your condo or house, just kick him out because he ain't buying anything. Or cat momers. Or cat momers. Can I ask you a question about this? Sure. Are all the plants warrantied? Yes. Yes. How are you enjoying that?
Barbecue sandwich. Wonderful. Y'all have anything to drink? Yes, there's a cooler of soda right next to that. Great. And a bottle of water, too. What's the HOA fee per month? That's a $3.50. $3.50. And what we can do is we can write that right into your mortgage. Oh, good. Good. Good. Good. Babe. How's that macaroni salad? Delicious. Gosh, you have a big helping of that on your plate. Y'all have any of this to go? Do you have any tinfoil? We're not a catering company. I'm a realtor trying to make a living. Are you interested in buying this condo, sir? Oh, yes, I am. Let me give you my business card. Do you have a card? In my truck. Let me just get another. Baby, get another. Can you get some chicken? Please, get just this time. We can just go. Actually. My wife is anorexic, and I need her to eat. She won't, and that's why she's acting this way. Sir, this is not soup plantation. You can't just load up on stuff and just go whenever you want. No, you want to take a plate and keep enjoying your food while I wait. We just take a plate, please. What do you want me to do with it? Put it in your purse. How did this turn into me? Because you would do that.
What if they also gave out raffle tickets for the new and interested home buyers? Would you then accept a raffle ticket? Your boyfriend's phenomenal. He's phenomenal. What do you guys like? Oh, yeah, the one bedroom. The one bedroom. The one? Oh, this is the one? Nice. Okay, cool. You guys got any threes? Sturdy. Oh, my God. Sturdy. And eating, the whole time munching on a barbecue sale. Not even just one. Like, the entire plate piled up with no room for anything else. Oh, wow. I sat there with my arms crossed the whole time. I'm going to say I kind of, I disagree with this one, Tracy. I'll let you say this, but only because every guy does this. But go ahead. Tracy from Carlsbad, what does your husband and his friends do? My husband and all his friends, I mean, we'll be like having a barbecue and have people over and suddenly you'll look over and they're peeing in the corner of the grass. Or actually, people four have been right just at the barbecue and just turned around and you're all... I've done that. I've seen it.
Men love to pee outside. But then my son is two, and they're teaching him this, and he'll only pee outside now. Hey, I'm going to tell you the truth right now, Tracy. I'm not ashamed to tell you. My four-year-old son asked me last week if he could pee outside. And his nanny, Nita, was standing by. And I said, come here. Come here, bub. Put my arm around him, and I whispered in his ear. I said, right now, Nita's here. And so you can't do that. But when Nita's not here, then you and Daddy can pee outside. But when we're at the park or something, my son will turn around and be like... Well, you've got to teach him. You've got to teach him. I have time and a place. You've got to know when to hold him. Yeah, you've got to know when to hold him, know when to fold him. You can only do that in the backyard. Yeah, I know, but a two-year-old, you know, they'll... You just tell him. Just let go, because it's going to happen. Just give up. Give up. Because it's going to happen. Give up. Every guy, every guy likes to pee outside. At his home. Every single man. And I don't know what it is. It's something in us. And I don't care who you are. Every man listening right now, if you have a house, you pee in your backyard. And not only do you pee in your backyard, you enjoy it. Yeah, real good. Yep. Phone lines are blowing up. But when we come back to Leonard Padilla interview, and at 9 o'clock...

And there's a very good chance that smell is attached to some sort of food. So Kaiser Permanente suggests why not cook it for yourself? Fill your kitchen with a smell that you remember. Bake that cobbler in Nana's memory. Invite your sister over for a grilled cheese. They got an album coming out in September. Yesterday. We talked to Leonard Padilla, who is a bounty hunter and had very, very close contact with the Anthony family, the Casey Anthony case. In 23 years, best interview I've ever had and wanted to replay it for you. So here you go. He was the subject of a National Geographic documentary, and we talked to him last year. His name is Leonard Padilla, and he is a bounty hunter.
Perhaps the best bounty hunter in the United States. He was hired by Jose Baez and Casey Anthony. And he is suing now for $200,000. Are you there, Leonard? It's nice to have you back on the Mikey show. I'm good. You know, you have a very, very unique point of view. You are, as CNN.com says, suing for $200,000. Because you were flown out to Florida in 2008 to help search for Kaylee Anthony, who was then missing. Let me put it in. I was in eight. I was in contact with Jose Baez as a result of some conversations with mine in New York in the media. And we decided, OK, let's see what he has to say about us coming in on the situation and helping get her out of his client was in custody at the time.
As a result, I talked to him while he was in New York and also in Florida. I was in Sacramento in all these conversations. By getting her out on bail, there might be an opportunity to get her to come forth with the child. We thought the child was just taken out of Florida for safekeeping by herself. And he agreed to it. There wasn't any discussion about repayment or anything like that. We flew to Florida after we met with him several times. How much did that cost? The bond itself was provided by my nephew, Tony Padilla, here in Sacramento. He owns a bail bond agency, but at the time, I paid $50,000 for it. We then took her to her parents' home and provided security, because obviously the crowds were getting unruly. So we had some extra security thrown in. Was she in your car, Leonard? We were in a vehicle together, myself. Rob Dick, the head of security attorneys, and herself. We're talking to Leonard Padilla.
Widely considered the best bounty hunter in the United States, who at one time was involved with the Casey Anthony case on a basis of trying to find Kaylee. So go ahead. You go to her parents' house. We have several discussions with her, myself, who was basically 24-7 staying with her the whole nine days. Rob Dick, who was providing the security, and several other individuals. And we talked to her, and she told us about the babysitter having kidnapped. child one thing or another. We were busy looking for the child, investigating as best we could amongst her friendships and relations. How convincing was she, Leonard? Excuse me? How convincing was she? Best liar, and I've dealt with the best. She is the best. She will convince you just damn near anything that talks about. So you at no point, at no point did you question the validity of her story? It got to the point where, yes, I did one day about the babysitter.
How long did that take for you to get there? We'd been there approximately... So a full week after being there, you started to go, something is not right. Correct, yeah. It was a full week. And what was she like when you talked to her? And, you know, we've only seen her on television. How big is she? Wow. She's happy. Tracy McLaughlin nicknamed her the cruise director. She was always bubbly, always happy. And the whole time we were there did she mention her once that she should. Never once did she sit down here at the kitchen table and figure out what we're going to do to find my daughter. Never once did she do that. We're talking to Leonard Padilla. Leonard Padilla is a bounty hunter who was hired by Jose Baez and Casey Anthony to fly out to Florida in 2008 and look for her then-missing daughter, Kaylee. And you were there for a week. You were talking to her. He says she is the best liar that he's ever met, and he's met a lot of them.
He said she was the best. And so when you were around, she was smiling and she was in a good mood all the time? Never once. There was a couple of instances, like one time when her dad threw a serious fashion about, hey, tell me where my granddaughter's at. What's happened? She reacted with a get away from me. Don't you treat me like I'm your daughter. Act like a father for once in your life. From him went to her room. Would not discuss a child with him either. So that happened in front of you in the Anthony home? Not in front of me. I was outside the house. It happened in front of Tracy McLaughlin, my associate. Dude. So what were Cindy and George, how did they strike you? What types of personalities did they strike you as, her parents? When they were around their daughter, they were always walking on eggshells, always saying, hey, we got to treat her lightly. We can't.
We can't be too strong. We can't come on like that. We have to just wait for anybody to cooperate with us. It was a situation when we'd never been involved. Anna went along with it because we were okay. Yeah, she's been in jail for almost two months. We will see what happens when she readapts to be at home. It wasn't anything that happened. It just did not happen from the time she got out of jail until the time they put her back in jail 10 days later. She never changed her attitude, never changed her ability to just be happy, bubbly. Even when she went back into jail, it was like, okay, I'm going back into jail. No big deal. What sorts of things, if she wasn't talking about her daughter, when you were around her, Leonard, and I don't know if you can remember, it was 2008, but do you remember the types of things that she would talk about? Like, what was on her mind? She hops into the kitchen. My nephew's got some, Tony Padilla's got some paperwork for her to help. Tracy's in there, and she starts brownies, fish patties.
Macaroni, Tony and Tracy, never mentioning the daughter at all again. I mean, it was just like, okay, this is the first night she's out of jail. You're on to be expelled from, and it was always just a very easygoing situation. Not a problem. It didn't seem like a, I mean, I couldn't believe that here she's got a two-year-old that she says has been kidnapped. Somebody's got her daughter. When you got to that seven, when you got, we're talking to Leonard Padilla, who was looking for, uh kaylee uh because he'd been hired by jose baez and casey anthony to come out to florida in 2008 he's one of the best bounty hunters in the country if not the best uh the focus of a national geographic documentary on bounty hunting and so when you went out there um leonard and you're talking to her and after seven days you start to get this inclination that maybe something ain't right here did you ever confront her about it or did you just go hey look i'm out of this thing yeah basically when she started
coming on with her. Zonida, the babysitter, took the baby away from me at J. Blanchard Parlor. I said, look, I didn't come 3,000 miles to leave my chihuahua behind in California to listen to this. The information that we need for baby, whether you took the baby out of town, the Zonida lady's not involved. He jumps up and says, you can't talk to me like a cop. Get out of my house. At that time, we had an RV parked out in the front yard, so I just went up to the RV and I sat there and talked to the guys and I said, hey, I have somewhat of a dilemma here. I'll agree that, yeah, if you don't want to cooperate, there's got to be something more to this than what we thought it was. It doesn't look like it. The FBI came out with a fact mission in the trunk of her. Now, let me ask you. So let me ask you, Leonard, because, you know, you're suing them for for two hundred thousand dollars. And it's because his opening Jose Baez is opening statements. He comes out and he says, well, I was never missing. Child was never missing. Now.
How did you find out that that's what the opening statements were? Or were you watching? Holy cow. Holy cow. We were all, when he came out with that, we just kind of looked at each other like, can you believe this? We were back. They were played. Dummies. I mean, we were for many, many years. My goodness. This attorney and this youngster had played us was appalling. Oh, my gosh. You know, listen, I'm rarely at a loss for words. But I'm almost at a loss for words because literally I could talk to you for a couple of hours. Here's the thing. How can an attorney sit there and encourage us to look, lie to us, look us in the eye on behalf of his client? And three years later, he's on national television saying, I knew it all along that she wasn't missing. I knew all along that she was. What kind of guy did you find Jose Baez to be when you were in Florida? Well, I knew that he was.
attorney uh i own the lorenzo patino law school it's an evening law school in sacramento and have operated it for 30 years so i i've been around attorneys they're thinking i've never run into an attorney that knew that his client's child was dead and represented to us that was alive why do you think he was doing that why what was in it for him to to represent that she was missing point in time i i didn't obviously know it but now when i look back i'm still at a loss Why didn't he just, when the initial calls came from me in California, why didn't he just say, not interested? Why did he lead us into it? Do you think, because you knew George Anthony, you spent time with George Anthony, you spent time with Cindy Anthony, you spent time with Casey Anthony, hearing what she has accused her father of, what was your reaction when you heard that? That she had accused him of molesting her?
Accused her brother. Did you ever meet Lee, by the way, the brother? Yes, he had no involvement in molester. The father definitely had no. Wow. It was a horrible thing for her to come up and have her attorney go in front of her. An attorney should never, ever, ever send to the jury that he does not believe to be true. And I just cannot believe after he had met George on several occasions, many occasions, that he would even represent such of the jury. It was just terrible of Jose Baez to do that. Your thoughts on Cindy Anthony? Cindy Anthony is a strong-willed, headstrong person that wants the world to know the universe. She runs outside that front door. Everything is okay. It's wrong inside that house. She's not about to let it become part of her life outside that. What did you see as, we're talking to Leonard Padilla, who is suing for $200,000. He's suing Casey Anthony and Jose Baez, her attorney. And he flew out to Florida in 2008 to look for what he thought was then,
a missing Kaylee Anthony, the relationship between Casey and her mother. At one point, it actually occurred to me, Leonard, that it was possible because the relationship was so strange between Casey and her mother. My wife and I thought, because we followed this case so closely, we thought, is it possible that she may have done this partly because she wanted to hurt her mother? What was that relationship like between her and her mother? It was a relationship over a child. One of my partners, she intentionally killed her to get her mother. Wow. I said, Rob, that's a difficult thing for me to accept. He says, that's the way I feel about it today. And he was with the family more often than I was. Holy cow. I mean, he was with Casey every day. He says she did it on purpose. I still find it hard to believe, but that's his belief now. And he was, like I say, he was there with her the whole time. Leonard, I've been in radio 23 years. This is the most incredible interview I've ever done in 23 years. And let me tell you something. If anybody ever asked me, what's the best interview you've ever had? Leonard Padilla. Hands down. Leonard Padilla. Leonard, finally, were you ever contacted by the prosecution to testify? Never. Not myself.
McLaughlin, not any of the people that had firsthand knowledge of everything that happened in that house. How? How could you not? How could you not be contacted? How could you not be contacted? You would have been an incredible witness for the prosecution. Ashton made a mistake in handling of the trial. He didn't. Baez didn't win the trial. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. Leonard, listen. Like I said, 23 years, you're the best interview I've ever had. This is absolutely, I mean, just, is there any other thoughts that you can give us as we're closing here? Is there any other thoughts you can give us about Casey because you were around her and you knew her? One of the things that has come up as a result was the meter reader that found the body has filed a lawsuit against me, which will give us an opportunity to dig further into the situation. Yeah, what's that guy's name? Roy. Roy Kronk. Roy Kronk.
Now, why is he suing you? I defamed him. So he filed a defamation suit. And he has thrown into the suit, which is a public record. I have not been served yet, but it's a public record, that I defamed him by alleging that his girlfriend that he lives with, the sheriff's office, gave him the information where the body was because she got it from individuals that overheard a conversation between Baez and Dale. In other words, we believe that law enforcement over Michelle Carpentier, girlfriend, he's suing, saying that I have. basically maligned his character. And then he's got a bunch of other allegations. Wow. Allegations that he does state that is when I said that his girlfriend gave him the information as a result of law enforcement. Leonard Padilla. He is seeking $200,000 from Casey Anthony and her attorney, Jose Baez. I don't need to tell you this because you're the best bounty hunter in America, but many people believe that she's here in San Diego County right now.
Which is unusual. Go ahead. Here's the thing. All you have to do is run down an attorney by the name of Todd Macaluso, who flies his own airplane, who was part of the defense team. Oh, my gosh. Carl's bat might not be a bad guess. Oh, my gosh. Thank you, Leonard. Hey, incredible interview. Thank you, Leonard. Appreciate it. Leonard Padilla. This on the Today Show. Here we go. With Casey Anthony. And the question, is she hiding out on the West Coast this morning? NBC's Kerry Sanders is in Carlsbad, California, with the latest on this story. Hey, Kerry, good morning. Well, good morning, Anne. Yes, I'm in Southern California in Carlsbad, which is an upscale coastal community not too far from San Diego. When Casey Anthony left the jail in Orlando two days ago, she vanished. But now sources say she climbed on board a plane.
a private aircraft that's kept in a hangar right here. That plane then started to fly west, making multiple stops where Casey Anthony may or may not have stepped off. This is the first place you would go search. Todd Macaluso was a high-powered California attorney, once a member of Casey Anthony's legal team, who reportedly gave her $70,000 before leaving the case last year. There is substantial evidence. And that proves, Your Honor, her innocence. On Macaluso's website, he advertises his private plane, a plane that enables us to travel anywhere within the United States in seven hours. The day before Casey was released from jail, Macaluso's plane was on the ground in Orlando, according to FlightAware.com, a website which tracks commercial and private aircrafts. Pilots are not required to file flight plans for every trip. But the next time the plane showed up was in Panama City, Florida, nearly four hours after Casey's release from jail. After changing its planned destination twice, according to FlightAware records, Macaluso's plane headed to Prescott, Arizona. Almost 15 hours later...
The plane stopped in Northern California and then landed at the John Wayne Airport here in Southern California. Macaluso declined to comment to NBC News, and Casey's legal team will not say if she was on board or if she's now in California. There might be somebody if they want to spend enough money and effort and energy trying to find her. It won't do them any good because they won't be able to get to her. They won't be able to talk to her. And when they blink, she'll be gone. It's unclear who's funding Casey Anthony's life right now. She left jail with only $537.68. There's talk of a possible pay-per-view television interview. But she's also been hit with an IRS tax lien and four different lawsuits. There it is. The Leonard Padilla interview from yesterday. Let's hear it in our live studio audience. We got a live studio audience in here the entire month of July at 9 a.m. And.
You know, we were just talking about it because we're liking it so much. We may continue to do it because it's been going so good. Welcome to the studio with us right now. John Foreman and Chad is with us as well. Thank you guys for coming in here. Let's hear it. It's so great to have you guys in because this is you guys are going to be putting this new record out in September, right? That's right. Record comes out in September. You just played a show at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. When did you guys, when was that? Like about a month ago? End of June. Right around the Bro-Am. Yeah. The Bro-Am. And the Bro-Am, I heard, waves were great for, which was good, right? You guys kind of get blessed with the good waves on that thing every year. Man, every year we've had some good waves. And the people, that's what I come away from, is just so many amazing people that come to the Switch for Bro-Am. So it was a good year for that. And you guys had just come off a gigantic tour. You guys just did a gigantic tour where you're everywhere. How long did the new record take to record? Well, the last one we...
We took our time. We tracked more than 80 songs and just holed up in our own brand new studio at the time here in San Diego. And this one, we decided, you know, let's be very deliberate. The songs felt like they came to us in a very kind of specific manner. And so we just took, what was it, a month and a half? Yeah. Just a couple months focused, really focused on about 15 songs. Yeah. A smaller batch this time, not 80. Wow. Yeah. How do you guys, I was asking last time you guys were in, I was asking kind of what the writing process is like and how you guys like to work. Is it a, you know, when you guys are in the studio, are you writing while you're in there? Is it all done by the time you hit the studio and you guys are just recording it at that point? You know, for me, I always like to save, like reserve the right to add a few songs at the end, you know, because I love writing songs. And you never know what's going to happen. You know, inspiration strikes or you feel a need to say something. And sometimes the studio can actually illuminate what the record is more than like sketching it out beforehand. So usually we got a really good idea of what we want to say. And then the studio adds a little bit of clarity to that. And then we write a few more tunes. So when you guys are in there and you guys are recording stuff. And actually, let me go back a little bit.
The actual writing process, do you write lyrics or is it music that you hear and then you put lyrics to it? You know, it changes every time. I usually love it when the two are written at the same time. I feel like there's a marriage of your headspace when you're thinking. about music that will marry well with the song and you're in the same frame of mind you know so sometimes the best songs you know you'll write it in three minutes and three minutes later you got the song and it's there intact you know that happens sometimes and other times it's a fight you know um well for example the the new single on the record dark horses um you're looking for inspiration anywhere and i've been writing these pieces for huffington post um and one of them was called dark horses And I was thinking about it, and the inspiration for me for that song was the Care House, Stand Up for Kids, Casa de Amparo, the groups that we've supported for the Bro-Am the last seven years. And so it's a matter of looking everywhere for your inspiration. And for Dark Horses, it's...
homeless kids you know thinking man these are kids that society is in many ways thrown away and it felt like the music um as i was writing it felt like um you know rising above and and surviving the situation and and um and the lyric kind of marries with that so it kind of wrote wrote itself you know because you guys have you know when you're a musician and you're able to do that you're obviously using a part of your brain that other people don't have that Part of their brain developed? No, no, no. I think everyone's got it. I mean, it's like learning anything. You just have to love it and devote enough time to it to where you really see it through. Because I think everyone can write a song. It's just a matter of finding that place where you can actually be a kid and not be cynical for that moment. and dream big enough to say something, you know? Because I'll tell you, man, I'll listen to your guys' music and I think, well, how did that just occur to you? You know, that's the thing that gets me about songwriting. How did that occur to you? How did the melody occur to you? How did those words, which I think, I just couldn't put it like that. How did that occur to you? And that's the part that I think is so...
crazy different than something that i could do but you say we can it's in us but i hear it sometimes especially melodies melodies are so hard because we've we feel at least i feel like well i've heard melodies a million times so every melody i'd come up with would be something i've heard before but then i hear new melodies and i go well that seemed easy you know it's funny john writes a lot of songs and when we're on tour you know he'll be singing a melody into his phone and and leaving himself voicemails all the time. And even in an elevator, I remember once, the top floor to the bottom floor, between that, you know, 30 seconds in an elevator, him writing a song and singing it into the phone. It was a long, long trip, you know. At least eight floors. Well, seriously, I, like, I'll go, you'll hear, and I go, well, that makes sense. Right. That makes perfect sense. That's great. How come I didn't think of that? That's great. That sounds good to the ears. How come I didn't just start going... I'd be a millionaire right now if I had just thought... But that's what makes great songwriters, I guess, is you guys just have that stuff running through your head. And I don't know where it comes from, but all of a sudden you just get an idea. Well, it's different because when you go home, you're...
thinking of radio like it it never turns off never you're you see something in a parking lot has nothing to do with radio and you think oh that's good that's true i gotta remember that it's the same for a comedian they're thinking oh that's funny that's and for me like my song my mind is always thinking about songs i never turn it off it i can't turn it off you know i actually have to like I've been trying to get other hobbies because it's like, you know, like. John, can you think right now, can you make up a melody that I've never heard before? She got the guitar sound. Can you make it up? Can you make it? Can you just go. See, you did it right there. You did it. I didn't say that. You did. So I can make something out of that? That just happened. Maybe I can make something out of it. Oh, wow. Sounds like a burlesque song. Sounds like Milton Berle's going to come out. of a sitcom we're dancing right we're dancing i'm feeling it yeah you need a top hat and a monocle see that yeah exactly that would be the worst is if i became a songwriter but it's all songs i hate i write i play guitar and i try to write songs and i'm like oh wow that's absolutely terrible just horrible my wife gets tired of me playing the same riff over and over and over she's like you put words to it or stop playing it well music is so subjective it's really hard to say to somebody it's really hard to say for somebody to go
well, I really like this song. And for somebody to go, well, that song's no good. Because it's subjective. It's like eating spaghetti and you go, oh, this is really great. Well, I don't like spaghetti. You can't argue it. This person likes it. This person doesn't like it. But we were talking about, Woods and I were talking about songwriting the other day and what it takes to be a songwriter and what your flavor is, whatever your particular flavor is. I love your guys' music, and I've always loved your guys' music, and it's always meant something very emotional to me, you know, the music and the lyrics. And there's another artist that I really like named Dallas Green. He's got a band called City and Color, and really all it is is him and a guitar. And the words are really incredible, you know, the words and the music. And I just think that it's such a gift. to be able to do what you guys do. And 2% of the world, I heard, 2% of the world gets paid to do what they like, which is a bummer, you know, because it means a lot of people doing stuff they don't necessarily, it's love, that was the word, do stuff they love, which means that everybody else either likes it or they don't like it or it's like, eh, whatever. So to be able to do something you love and make a living at it.
That's a gift. That's pretty cool. Yeah. And you know what's crazy is I know so many musicians that are in bands that don't love it. Yeah. And that's where I think, you know, like, maybe it's time to get a day job. Yeah. You know, because, I mean, there's so many kids out there that would love to play music for a living. Do you mean that they are tired of playing the same songs? They're just tired of doing it. They're tired of the road. They're tired of playing rock and roll. They're tired of their songs. And I just, they're tired of their bandmates. Yeah. And for me, I'm so... Just over the moon. Every time we get a chance to play. I'm thankful. I'm thankful that the song still means something to me. I'm thankful that we're still great friends as a band. That's a gift. I've interviewed you guys a few times and I try to think... I don't try to put too much thought into it because I always just want to have a conversation instead of an interview. Yeah, conversations are way better. Conversations are better than interviews.
But one thing that I wanted to remember to tell you the next time that I saw you was that, and I mentioned this off the air one time to Woods. What's really great about your voice is that it's not somebody else. It doesn't sound like someone else. I'm with a lot of rock singers. You go, oh, you can hear the influence of this. You can hear the influence of that. And you've got a very iconic voice in that it's only you. And when you hear it, you go. oh my goodness, that is so distinctly John Foreman, which is so cool that you were born with such a different instrument, you know, because a lot of guys, me and LLB have this ability to be able to do impersonations. And so I can talk like this, you know, and I can do a thing where I sound like someone, you know, you know. But no one, we know comedians that are gifted as impressionists. Craig Gass, one of the best impressionists ever. He can't imitate me. It's really weird. He's tried, but I don't really have a distinctiveness to my voice. He's told me, dude, you kind of sound like a lot of people, so I can't put it together. He's tried to put it together. Your voice is so distinctly you, which is really cool, man. Thanks, man. You could see it. When I was a kid, it was always just trying to sound like...
Led Zeppelin or Bob Dylan or whoever else. So it's a failure to sound like all these other people. And I can't imitate Ozzy. Well, that's okay. You'd do a great John Foreman. One of the first songs we ever covered as a band was Aretha Franklin. Yeah, that's my dream. If I could sing like Aretha, that'd be like... I mean, really, that's all of our goals, right? You just blew my mind. I'm like, wow, that's pretty cool. In fact, later, we got to play this for people. Jay found you guys covering Crazy in Love by Beyonce. Oh, there you go. It's awesome. It's awesome. I'm watching it and my jaw drops open. I'm like, how do you still sound like Switchfoot and you're doing this Beyonce song, which is a completely different genre of music? Sounds like the Beyonce song, but it's distinctly switchfoot. The hardest part about that was the stilettos. I mean, just being honest. The stilettos had got to... Dancing and heel. It had to be painful. I had a hard time with that. All right, so we're going to play this song, Dark Horses, from the new album. What is the new album called? The new album is called Vice Versus. It comes out September... 27th. 27th. Yeah, so Vice Versus... Are you allowed to tell us this? How many...
Are you allowed to tell us how many songs are there? Yeah. 12 tracks on the record that were recorded right here in San Diego. Yeah. In our own studio. Now, I'm a foodie. I love food. And so I was asking last time you guys were in, I asked you, I said, hey, I love this band so much that it's like a new, it's like you're opening a new restaurant and it's going to be this whole new menu. And so I'm like, okay, I just want to make sure. Is there like... Is there this? Is there that? You know, like, because I'm just making sure that I'm... And he's like, yeah, don't worry. There's going to be the, you know, the anapasta salad. Yes, yes. All the things you're looking for. Yeah, I like my switch foot anapasta. Right. Then I like the entree. The dessert. You got to have the dessert. I got to have the dessert. And so I'm trying to make sure... You got some mud pie. Yes. It's great. It's all there. We'll let you listen to it, man. I'd really love to get your opinion. Oh, man. Okay, well, let's listen to this one. And Woods... Saw you guys at saw you guys when you were at the Del Mar Fair and was texting me because I didn't get to go. And he was texting me the whole night. And he said, you are going to flip out. You know, you guys were playing some new songs. And he was telling me. And then I talked to him. He said, you're going to flip out. So people are going to lose their minds over this record. This is Dark Horses. This is new from Switchfoot. What do you guys think of that in here? What do you guys think?
As soon as it starts. As soon as it starts. That is great. It's called Dark Horses. The new album is called Vice Versus. And it comes out on September 27th. And a big tour to follow? Yeah. We're actually going to be out with Amberlynn most of the fall. Then we head over to the UK. And then probably hit the rest of the world. In 2012. Right before the record comes out, we're actually playing at Petco Park on September 18th. Speaking of the Potters. Speaking of the Potters. We were talking about baseball earlier. Sunday afternoon. That's fantastic. Let's hear it again for Switchfoot. Settle down a little bit. Settle down over there. Thank you guys. Thank you guys so much for coming in and doing that. Del Mar races kick off today. And, uh...
Probably go through the alphabet and there's something going on in San Diego this weekend. But, okay, so I was telling you the five things that you will absolutely have to know going into Comic-Con. I already told you, Purell, you need stuff to disinfect your hands because you're going to touch disgusting stuff that people with disgustingly sweaty hands and germy hands and poopy hands and pee-pee hands are going to be touching. So you need that. You also need Sharpies, okay? Because you're going to want to get Jabba the Hutt to sign... You're going? Your Jabba... Oh, my gosh. That one was real. I mean, just... That was one of those kicks that they keep showing in slow motion. They'll show him in so much. So you're going? So you're going? So you're going? I almost cursed, dude. I almost cursed. They'll show him saying, so you're going from like five different angles so that the audience can see it from five angles. They'll super say, so you're going? I'm a going. Going. Guy.
Takes the sharpest instrument in the world and he just slides it right into your belly. Unprovoked. Yeah, just really. Everybody's being sweet. We're just having the dumb photo. And the dumbest photo in the world. That is true. We forget. Y'all was making fun of me for dumb face. Dumb face hall of fame, Mike. Mean anything to you? Dumb photo. What? Identical. Identical, Jay. Oh, gosh. He's mad this time. You keep doing it. Keep it up, Patty. Go ahead, Orca. You know what, Shamu? I'm going to get you. I promise you that, you little tiny bean. I'm going to get you. I'll make a burrito out of you. Then you'll eat it. Mike, I know you're into philosophy. Why don't you ponder this one? If you was a bean burrito, would you eat yourself? If you were a whale, because you are, would you eat tuna? Sit down.
If he is a woolly mammoth, because you are, would you dig yourself up and eat you? You're an elephant. He's just saying. You're fat. Fat. Hippo. Chubs. Everything that's big. Here, let me say hi inside of Mike's mouth. Is anyone in here besides dairy products, lunch meat, baguettes, sausage, Salsa. Salsa. Enchiladas. Mexican mouth. Piñata hanging from the back of your throat. What's that hangy thing called where you got that piñata? A uvular. A uvular. Yeah, your uvular is a piñata. Candy come out of that. Yeah, right. Bacon. Mikey, when he was a kid, had a piñata over at the house and bacon. He had Big Macs. Pizzas.
Cold turkey. Mackie, remember that year you cried and cried because your mama wouldn't put Big Macs inside the little burra? Wouldn't fit, fatty. You broke that sucker open with a broomstick. Out fell Big Macs. You're going to need a point-and-shoot digital camera if you go to Comic-Con. Now, that is a true story. You definitely do. Woods and I used... A lot of point-and-shoot cameras. We pointed and shooted a lot. A lot. We pointed and laughed a lot, too. Well, hey, they're laughing, too. It ain't just us. They're laughing. They know it, and they dig it. You set yourself up for it. Well, they get it. You walk in in a hazmat suit, all right, pal? Hey, that is supposed to be a safe place. You guys stay out of there. They are having fun with themselves, even. They're making... Every time. That's creepy, Uncle Jay. We just call that an afternoon. Like you don't. I just call it every second. Like you don't. I call it, Kim, go to Henry's. Give me about 15 minutes, Kim. Okay, forget it. Five minutes. Three minutes. All right, here's what else you need. You need an iPod, an iPhone, because of the lines it says. Something to do. You need something to do because there's a lot of lines. There's nothing better than watching a robot eat nachos.
That's a true statement. We saw it. Yeah. There's nothing better than a wizard eating a burrito. What about Catwoman eating a hot dog? It was great. We saw it all. Saw it all. We saw a woman, I think she freaked out over her french fries. She was unhappy with them, the quality of them. And she was dressed as a witch or something. And she disgustedly threw them into the garbage. Just furious. Furious. God, it was fun. And she was dressed fully as a witch. And just... Throw them in the garbage. It was one of the most fun days I've ever had. It was pretty awesome. And the last thing that you need is a plan, they say. Well, comfortable shoes as well. Sure. I know from experience. Also, you're going to want to leave your condoms at home because you shan't need them at Comic-Con. You just won't need them. So you don't want to weigh yourself down, so you just leave them in the drawer or in your wallet. For the record, Hillary just said, you never know. Robots need love, too. That's true. Fine, take your condoms with you. Bring your A-game, though. Okay, bring your A-game, guys. Speaking of Comic-Con, M1, Chris from Oceanside, what was the word of the day? You know, it's those cases of soup I have in my closet for Jasper. Alphabet soup. But what was the word? Alphabet. Thank you. That's what he said. Oh, my gosh.
I'm sorry. I had to be a wise guy. I know. Weisenheimer, you. That's right. Well, guess what, bro? You're going to a sold-out Comic-Con. I've never been. Hey, Woodsy, thanks for the important safety tip. No pun intended. What was that? Oh. Condoms. Okay. Well, you may need them. I'm married. I'm good. Oh, thank you. Thank you. Well, there it is. That's what you need for Comic-Con this year. We had to eat there last year. The food wasn't that great. We were not pleased with the food. You don't go to Comic-Con for the food, fellas. We did. You're there a long time. We wanted to see Tom Sizemore, but he didn't show up. Are there ins and outs at Comic-Con? I haven't been in a few years. Once you're in, I think you're in. You've got to go across the street to that seafood restaurant, which the name is escaping me. It was a... of humanity. Outside, before we walked into Comic Con, I took a picture because Woods and I were standing there dumbfounded at how downtown had absolutely transformed into moving humans. And into Nebulon. Yeah, into Nebulon. But it was, picture New York City streets as busy as you've ever seen them, and it was more than that. It was more than that.
And it really was fun. We had a blast. A blast. How long were you guys there? Like two hours? Two hours. You couldn't go two hours without eating? Oh, Jay, you just... We would have stayed longer, but we had somewhere to be. Mike had to go do a speaking thing after, so I went with him. We got Church's Chicken after Comic Con. How do you feel now? You guys held hands the whole time? We did stop at Church's Chicken. Before the speaking engagement. After we'd eaten. Oh, wow. That's a lot of eating in a two-hour period. Well, you don't see it at churches all the time. So we're like, we're here. We got to do it. And we did it. Don't shock me, man. He is a good friend and a lover. I didn't just say that. Well, you did say it at one point. I wasn't talking about Woods when I said that. That's taken out of context. You were. I didn't say that about Mike either. No, he wasn't. No. He's reading, actually. Jay makes it seem like we're saying it to each other to embarrass us. I guess I do understand the taken out of context bit now because that's the definition of it. Woods, for the record, was singing George Michael at the time. So I don't know if it's that much better. That's a true statement. All right, that is true. In context, I mean... It's not much better. That's true. I do like George Michael. Isolate. Hillary, did you hear the new Switchfoot single?
It's good. It's really good. I'll give it to you. You can play it. Okay. Yeah. It's good. Cool. Super good. It's called Dark Horses, and it rocked. Those fellas in Switchfoot could not be a nicer bunch of guys. They are the nicest and most humble dudes. I kind of love them. They are so, so good people. Really good guys. Very foxy, too. They are foxy. I'll say it. Well, you're a gal. I agree with you, Woods. You're a woman. Woods and a weird kick. You know, it's... It's a vicarious kick. That's what we can do. It isn't. Yeah, no. It's okay. It's okay. I mean, I'm married, though. That's the thing. Not that there's anything wrong with that. That's the weird part, is that he's married. And vicarious. And vicarious. And vicarious. Hill, what do you got coming up? I'm going to play new music from Arctic Monkeys. I have... Two leftover requests from my 2 o'clock hour yesterday. We'll start with a complete legend. And I'm going to play a band that will be on the new Nirvana tribute album that Spin Magazine just put together. It is a free download. I will tell you all about it. Have you seen the Foo Fighter doc? Yes. Did you like it? I did. I haven't seen it yet, but Wood says it's fantastic. Oh, yeah. Oh, gosh. You've got to see it. Real good. It's so interesting. I want to get it today.
It made me think about Dave Grohl in a new way. Because every time I've met him, he's just a crack up. He's just like super funny and friendly and stuff. But he is a bit of a control. Dude's focused. Yeah. He's focused. Yeah. It's interesting. You got to see it. Do you walk away from it going, oh, that's Dave Grohl's band? Oh, absolutely. It ain't no band. It's Dave Grohl's band. It's Dave Grohl's. They should be called the Dave Grohl's. The Dave Grohl's. All right. Lovely and talented Hillary is up next, and we will see you tomorrow morning at 6 o'clock. Mikey shows out. Get Financial Media Station. Owned by a large insurance and financial services corporation. Not that we're bragging, but the benefits are pretty good. FM 94.9. It's about the music.
