Monday July 26, 2010
A stabbing at Comic Con gives nerds a bad name, and new meaning to the term ‘Pen Pal’. The Kings of Leon were pooped on by pigeons at a gig and a debate about poop stopping shows ensues and KOL becomes “Queens of Leon”. Mikey describes seeing pigeons doing it. The gang recaps their day at the races and celebrity sightings. LOB recaps her stand up gig and getting sprayed by a skunk. The panel takes on plastic surgery, a ‘dislike’ button on facespace, and tracking security tags. Senator Kerry’s bold prediction gets a great bar joke out of Woods. Mikey and Woods tell about their trip to the “nerdathon” known as Comic Con with plenty of geeks being interviewed. With a mouthful of food Mikey interviews two costumed dweebs, gets manhandled by “Free Hugs Guy”, and meets the “Agents of A.I.M.” who will be saving us all from super-villains everywhere. Tom Sizemore makes The Kid feel like a kid and Mikey had to eat next to a witch and a ghoul. Sienna reports on the best Cardiff Kook prank ever. In a segment of somber tones, Woods chokes up talking about Jamie and his adoption plans and their emotional struggles. M1s call in with their support. More Comic Con audio is played of Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy rubbing Mikey’s beard while he makes one mistake after another. M1 Misty calls in about her problems with her husband spending too much money on his kid’s summer camp classes. After a few callers Mike changes his mind on the subject. Sienna is passionate about summer camps! Mikey recaps his brush with cougars at the races and gets roasted real good. Eskimo Bluewaters comes in as the consummate professional and decides she’s got what it takes to be a hypnotist. EBW then “hypnotizes” Mikey and Woods. WoW gives advice on dating Red Sox fans. Things all single people need to do before getting married draws a diverse reaction and sees Mikey earn a new nickname; “Green Bean”! Would you travel alone overseas? Lauren has. Being heartbroken leads to a big discussion about emotions and how to deal with them. Sabrina wonders how to do the weather and talks about breaking up with her boyfriend. Anthony Robbins gives his self-help advice to Mel Gibson. Sienna’s grilling tips coincide with Woodsy’s love making mantra; “Keep it hot, Keep it clean, and keep it lubricated”! The cast salivates when Hilary recaps her camping trip.

The Mikey Show on FM 94.9 featured Woodsy and Mikey's first-ever Comic-Con trip, covering a stabbing incident, men with realistic assault rifles, and Kings of Leon walking offstage due to pigeon poop. Throughout the broadcast, hosts interviewed eccentric Convention attendees including the Free Hugs guy, a Saw head trap mask wearer, and costumed Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn who playfully tormented Mikey. The show also delved into Woods' emotional adoption journey with wife Jamie after her cancer battle, debated Facebook's potential dislike button, and included listener calls about kids' camps, relationship deal-breakers like sports rivalries, and humorous topics such as skunk-sprayed cars and grilling tips, with regular segments from Sienna's news, Jay's producer updates, and Woods' sports corner.
What happened, in order
Padres & Comics Banter
Mikey and Woodsy discuss Padres being in first place, baseball practices, cloaks and scepters, and joke about Comic-Con costumes and Burger King jesters.
Comic-Con Stabbing
A man stabbed another in the face with a pen over a seat argument at a Universal Studios panel, resulting in a minor cut near the eyelid and the attacker being escorted out by cops.
Realistic Assault Rifles at Comic-Con
Mikey and Woodsy see two guys walking with giant assault rifles that look real, prompting the weapon tagging station explanation and concern about people packing heat.
Kings of Leon Pigeon Poop Walkout
Kings of Leon had to shut down after about three songs because pigeons in the rafters kept pooping on the band, including in Jared Followell's mouth, forcing them offstage.
Skunk Spray on Car
Woods' car gets sprayed by a skunk after he brakes for it in the road; the spray hits the grill, smells repulsive and toxic, and the skunk saunters away.
Facebook Dislike Button Debate
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg says they're thinking about a dislike button but later decide against it because it would do nothing but bad; Woodsy, Lauren, and the hosts debate its pros and cons.
Comic-Con Pipe-Wearing Idiot
An idiot in a full outfit with pipes sticking out of the sides almost runs over Mikey and hits him in the rib with a pipe as he walks to Sith Land, ignoring Comic-Con spirit.
Free Hugs Guy at Comic-Con
Free Hugs guy with a cardboard sign gives out hugs; Woods and Mikey accept, resulting in a full, moist hug that Woods describes as "moist like a lightsaber fight."
Joker's Girlfriend at Comic-Con
Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn in full costume approach Mikey at Comic-Con; Poison Ivy rubs her finger along his beard pretending to give him poison ivy, causing a hilarious and uncomfortable interaction.
Adoption Process Discussion
Woods and Jamie discuss going through adoption after Jamie's cancer treatment left her unable to have children naturally; they fill out extensive paperwork on preferences including race, age, and relationship with birth

It's Monday already. Monday, I don't know the date. Yeah, I do. It's July 26th. How about that? Summer is almost over, isn't it? Oh, my gosh. You've got like a month left. Is that for real? Yes. Oh, my gosh. That's insane. Well, yeah, it is. Being that yesterday, at least in North County, it was cool. Yes. Like, not warm, cool. Yeah. Like, I would say that it goes like this. Cold, cool. Warm. Hot. Comfortable. And it was cool yesterday in North County. I just hope we have a late summer. Seriously, an Indian summer. Yeah. You know, through November or something. The rest of the country has it. The rest of the country's hot. Yeah. I keep reading all these Facebook things of people on the East Coast like, I'm dying. Triple digits. I'm like, hmm. I've got a hoodie on. I've got a hoodie on today. It's so weird. It's so strange why we're not experiencing real summery weather. It's my fault.
Did you bring it here, Woodsy? From Texas? Yeah, I did. Could be. Woodsy brings everything. Bad luck, kid. But the Padres are in first, so I'm going to take credit for that. Yeah, you might as well. Padres are a real good baseball team. They are a good baseball team. They're professionals, you know? Who would have known? Yeah. San Diego Brewers, not so much a good baseball team. That's your team? That's my men's team. Yeah. Men's pay-to-play adult league. Men's pay-to-play adult league team. Not so good. I asked Woodsy one time, do you guys practice? He goes, no. Which we did before the season started. We had a couple practices, which is a lot of fun. I would practice baseball five days a week. Why don't you? Because it's schedules and everybody works. And, you know, we're gathering cloaks and scepters and stuff after work. And it's just hard to. Mike does leave the cloaks lying around. Yeah, you know, I'm constantly doing this stuff. I don't wear cloaks and scepters. Somebody's got to pick it up. Right. 5701949. One day, could you just walk in with a scepter and a crown? And have someone ahead of you roll out the red carpet and rose petals. How about next year at Comic-Con? Yeah. Burger King. Burger King. You should have one of those little clowns called that dance around the king. A jester. A jester. I'll hire a jester. I'll throw rose petals all over Comic-Con. I love it. That would be good.
So I'm Mikey, your cloak and scepter guy. I'm the host of the show. And Woodsy's our sports guy. Lauren O'Brien is our assistant producer. We have Sienna, who's our news girl. And we have Jay, who's our producer. And today, Austin, screening phone calls? There's the man. There he is. And your phone calls, 570-1949. How was your weekend? What'd you do? Call about anything you want. And talk about anything you want. Got a lot of stuff we want to tell you about. We're going to tell you about our day on Friday in a little bit. Seeing some celebs out at the racetrack. Yeah. Tell you about that. And want to hear about Lauren's stand-up comedy on Friday night. So we'll ask her about that. Some of the big news stories that are going on. Oh, and by the way. This morning, we're going to be giving you Comic-Con audio at 7 a.m. because Woodsy and I went to Comic-Con. Cannot wait for that. And got some audio out there. I'm just going to say, it did not disappoint at all. No. It was everything I imagined and more. And me too. I'd never been. Over 125,000 people at this year's Comic-Con. Insanity. 125,000 people. Oh, my. And let's put it this way. I will never not go back.
Yeah. For as long as Comic-Con is here, I will be there. Let's hope it stays. You know what I have to say, too? I think we should write that down. No, I'm serious. I'm surprised by that. Oh, dude. It's like, it's a goldmine. Well, we'll get to it. We'll get to it. I thought you don't like fantasy. I don't. Yeah, you wait. He likes comedy. I like comedy. There you go. Apparently, Comic-Con was dangerous this year. Apparently. Guy was stabbed. At Comic-Con. Yeah, there were two young guys waiting for the start of a Universal Studios panel. And they were like arguing over their seat. And so one guy got so mad. This isn't funny, but he stabbed the other guy in the face right by his eye with a pen. Oh my gosh. Yeah, blood got on his shirt and stuff. The guy's okay. They said it was a minor cut near the eyelid. But the guy was escorted out. Cops there. Now, if that had been like the San Diego auto show. A guy probably wouldn't have had a pen, but it was Comic-Con. Yes. Guy had a pen. He had a pen. There's a whole... On him.
A weapon tagging station at Comic-Con for everyone with their costumes that come equipped with weapons. Yeah. You had to go through like a screening process so that the security could determine, okay, this is a fake weapon. That got passed. And then it got a little pink tag on it. Just so you know, the stabber was wearing a Harry Potter t-shirt. Are you kidding? Is it a true statement? Yes, it was. It's a true statement. She's not making, she can't make this up. She was wearing a Harry Potter t-shirt. And he was booed by all of the other thousands of people that were over there. You should be. People got their inner superhero on. Boo. Uh-huh. Stabbing. And this guy could face possible charges of assault with a deadly weapon. For sure. Yeah. Deadly weapon. I'm against it. If I go stab somebody in the eye, I'm going to get in trouble. Of course. You can't just go stab people with pens. You can't go stab people in the eye. I don't care if you're... You know who doesn't get in trouble for stabbing somebody in the eye? Yeah. People that don't stab people in the eye. People that don't wear Harry Potter shirts. Okay. Well, there's plenty of people wearing Harry Potter shirts, though, Woodsy, that didn't stab anybody. Yeah, that's true. You know what I mean? As far as we know. The guy that loses his temper over his seat at the panel. At Comic-Con. That's right. Maybe you guys can discuss it like grown-ups. Yeah. Excuse me. This is my seat. Did you see a lot of grown-ups there, pal? Did you write your name on it? No, I'll write my name on your eyes. I mean, come on. I want to see Tron. I'll tell you what, though.
And I mean this seriously. I bet when that dude took that pen out, even if the pen was open, he did not mess his shirt up. You want to know why? He's got a pocket protector that protects the integrity of the cloth underneath it because it protects it from the pen. If you pull the pen out, if the pen happens to be open, he gets the pocket protector instead of the clothing. That's right. I'm surprised the other guy didn't have a... cape on that would make him invisible. What if? If he threw it in front of him. What if? Get a lightsaber. Knock his pen right out of the way. M1 Paparazzi from Oceanside. What's up? Good morning. What's going on? Here's something that's kind of odd. I always never could understand about Comic-Con. You're not allowed to bring in weapons, say part of your costume, if they're real weapons. However, once you get into Comic-Con... You can buy real weapons on the floor. Oh, yeah. Really? They sell real weapons? Like a samurai sword or something? Did you not see the samurai swords? I thought they were like plastic. Oh, no. For real? For real. They were real? Yeah, they have like hidden inside a cane. Like you pull the handle of the cane out and there's a sword inside of it. Oh, that's weird. Oh, yeah. Huh, that doesn't make sense. If you feasibly wanted to cut somebody's head off at Comic-Con, you could. Yeah. Feasibly. People would be like, that's a great, great special effect. Yeah, good job. Wow. Hey, you know.
Thank you, M1 Paparazzi. I was really, really surprised that some of these guys are walking around and their thing that they're into is like military. And they had these guns that looked real. Those two dudes. That's why they have that whole weapon tagging station because some of the people need to make sure they're not packing heat. Mikey and I saw two guys walking towards us. I was like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. And these guys had giant assault rifles. And they looked real. Yeah. Full gear. Full get up. It's so great. Wait till we give it a whole rundown. I can't wait. I can't wait. 7 o'clock audio. 7 o'clock we'll play it back. So, what's the deal with this i5 expansion? Well, there's talks of adding a sixth lane.
And it would cost about $3.3 billion to $4.5 billion to do so. For the state or for the federal? That would be state government, right? They said that. I have to breathe deeply because we, last November, passed a high-speed railway. Yeah, I did not. I voted against that. I did, too. Well, they say officials are saying that half the funding would come from the county's trans net fund, which is financed by a half cent sales tax increase. And then the rest would come from state and federal sources. It'd be great because it would only take 17 billion light years. To complete. Oh, yeah. Listen to this. Four lanes would be built along the middle of the freeway. Kind of like the express lane on the 15. And then there'd be two conventional lanes that would be added to the regular segment of the coastal freeway. Where? Do they say where? From La Jolla Village Drive to... Where does it go to? La Jolla Village Drive on the 5. To Oceanside. Northern Oceanside. My goodness. That might be...
A nightmare. A nightmare. It's run through six cities. That's my entire drive home. Yeah, I mean, that would take... You know what would happen? We would be turned into fossilized oil before that. Yeah. If anyone drives out to Riverside, they've been doing that for years. Oh, man. And that center divide where it gets really skinny, they make these makeshift lanes, and it's just... Traffic for years. They're saying 40 bridges and overpasses along with noise reduction walls next to more than 1,500 homes, like apartment complexes and stuff. Because think of the noise with all the construction. And I'm not saying this to be funny. By the time it's done, I bet it's like already too crowded. Jake will be graduating from high school. Yeah. I just kind of feel like it's one of those things where if it wasn't in place to begin with, then. Kind of just got to work with what you have. Yeah. I don't know. Well, the state has scheduled five public meetings that have just been released starting tomorrow and then through August to talk about this. It'd be great for the guys that build it and everything, but for the folks that drive there, just a nightmare. Come up with a better public transportation system. Yeah. That's my vote. See, they got to build that too. And if they built something like in Chicago down the Edens Expressway.
You're sitting in traffic yet the train is going right past you. So let's say they had that train from La Jolla Village Drive to Oceanside and they make stops along the way. It would be great, but it's not here yet. And they got to build something like that, which is going to be just as bad to have like that train. They've got the train track there. Trains. I would take the train. If I could, every day I'd take the train. Yeah, there's a train that's there. It's not the way our city's laid out. Like down the middle of the highway, though. But it doesn't stop everywhere. It starts. And that's a deal. See, from the freeway, most of us get off the freeway and travel for miles and miles. Yeah. It goes like Solana Beach, then to downtown. Right. And think of, you know, all the stops in between. Yeah. Not practical here. They should stop at more places. It should. I would definitely take it every day. I would, too. Park my car and get on the train. My little jet pack. Maybe a flying car. Maybe a flying car, yeah. How long until that happens? I'm all in. 100%. I'm all in just because it sounds fun. A couple more years, probably. I told my wife that one time. She said, you know, this is going to give you more problems. You'd just be upset about something about that. Yep. I said, like what? She goes, people that get in your way while you're trying to fly. $40 million a gallon for gas. Yeah, they wouldn't be able to put lights and stuff up there, would they? Mm-mm. Oh.
You know, people jamming into you from the side. Flying. Flying into you from the side. I'm willing to give it a shot. Yeah, I'll give it a whirl. You know what I mean? It's your pilot's license. Let me try it. 570-1949 or text 949mikey at gmail.com. How come Woodsy in golf? How come in golf, when you watch golf on any given week, because golf is on every weekend? Every weekend. But how come not all the big stars are always on? Because they don't play in every tournament. There's a tournament in Dallas called the Byron Nelson, and every year it gets worse and worse. And Tiger doesn't play, then Phil decides he doesn't want to play because they want to gear up for other tournaments, the bigger tournaments. Because there was golf this weekend. You're like, who are these guys? Where's the names I know? It's the worst. It's the worst. That's the tough part. Do people really watch that? Oh, yeah. I put it on, and I was like, I kept waiting. For some big name. And I was like, this isn't happening. Facetious, but are there about five names that people actually know? Yeah, well, I don't know. Probably, like, for me, who's a very passive golf fan, I probably know 20 guys on the tour. All I know is it's a, here's Marty Wagner team. Come, Marty. But, hey, these are the guys that are the next Phil Mickelsons and the next, you know, Sergio Garcias and Tiger Woods of the world. I guess. Oh.
This will be something for us to talk about. Woodsy is a big Kings of Leon fan. Or Kings of Leon. And did you hear about what happened to them? Was it this weekend? Yeah, it was this weekend. What happened? They were performing in St. Louis. St. Louis. St. Louis. On Friday night. And they had to shut down and go offstage, Kings of Leon, because there were some pigeons up above in the rafters that were pooping. On them. Yeah. They made it through about three songs and then they had to call it quits. Why? Because the poop just wouldn't stop. It kept hitting the band members. It was raining poop. It wasn't raining poop. There was occasional poops dropping. Why didn't you fight through it? That's what I want to know. Really? I don't know. Would Zeppelin? I don't know. Would you, if a bird pooped in your mouth and you were singing a song and a bird pooped in your mouth, would you fight through it? If a bird pooped in my mouth. They did. I didn't read anything about poop in a mouth. Maybe you grab an umbrella. That's what I was thinking. It pooped in Jared Followell, the bass player, pooped in his mouth. Really? Because he plays the bass like this? With his head? Yeah, absolutely. He put his head back? Well, sure. Mikey, I'll tell you what. I don't believe that. I don't believe that would be such astronomical odds that the bird was able to write.
50 pigeons or whatever. There was a ton of pigeons. It rained poop on them. It was everywhere, they said. Couldn't they just go, shoo? Yeah. You know what's weird is that people in the audience, they said that even the ones up close, no poop on them. They didn't get pooped on them? No. Because it's on the rafters. It's right above their head and above the stage. Why don't you go off stage and, you know, just grab a rifle maybe? Rinse out your mouth and come back out on stage. Let's say a pigeon was right above Mikey's head. And let's say right now, a pigeon pooped on your head. Jay would hold an umbrella for Mike. Yeah. Or get like a fake owl or something. Hey, dude, I had a similar situation. I just come out of rehab, was doing a corn concert at 4th and B. Somebody threw a beer in my mouth. That's delicious. Fought through it. Well, yeah. I was all mad. I was all bent out of shape. You're not playing a three-hour set, though, dude. All right. They should have had a little fun with it. All right, guys. There's about a million pigeons up above. Start throwing stuff up there. You'd have been PO'd. Oh, I would have been PO'd. If I was in the fans, I would have been PO'd. You're in the audience, and they were like, there's pigeons. We're leaving. Really? Jared, the bassist, said, it's not only disgusting, it's a toxic health hazard. It is.
Poop. It's poop. I'll tell you what. I got pigeon poop in my, well, not pigeon. I think seagull. Some sort of poop in my hair a couple weeks ago. And I took a whiff of that. Yeah. It is toxic. Imagine if they went through, though, and they were just covered in it. Yeah. People would love him even more. He said when he walked on stage. If the audience is willing to, that would be my take. Bro. If you guys are willing to do this, we're willing to do it. It's not like they were all standing in the rain. There's rafters above them, right, that covers up to the edge of the stage. So it was an outdoor deal. But up in the rafters, right above them, the pigeons are hanging out, pooping on them. They should have taken a break and had people that work there go up there and shoo them out. Would it be better? Probably. No, you rally through it. These guys have been touring for two years straight. They're pretty road-tested at this point. Oh, really? Can't get through a couple pigeons? I'm going to start throwing doo-doo at you guys while you are on the air, and we'll see how well you fight through it. Listen, if we were doing a live remote... We'd move. We would fight through it. No, we wouldn't. We would move. Well, I'll tell you what we wouldn't do. We wouldn't be like... See you tomorrow. Later. Imagine. But, like, I mean, that would be...
I almost want to say legendary. They're going to come back. If they were completely covered and fans are going nuts. Disgusting. They should do this. Like the Asian bird. Yes. There's all kinds of health risks. I hope that they do some sort of skit on this during SNL. I know. You don't worry about the kings, okay? They acted like a bunch of queens if you ask me. I'm a little disappointed. You shouldn't be. The queens of Leon. The queens of Leon. The queens. You guys shut up. If Woods had been waiting for that concert forever and he called me and said, hey, guess who's driving home right now? Nine o'clock at night. I go, why? Because Kings just walked off the stage. Why? Somebody throw something on stage and hit him in the face with a beer bottle? No. No, a bird pooped on him. Jared said he walked out on stage for the first song and he looked down at his pedals because they have all those different effects pedals. Crap everywhere. Gross. It's like, oh, perfect. This is going to be a great night. That stinks. That is gross. Where? What city? St. Louis. Yeah. St. Louis. But they did say they're going to come back and do a whole, probably do a free bit. They better. They better, yeah. I mean, if it was like cow poop, they wouldn't have gone on stage. Right. You know? If it's cow poop. Oh, come on, Sally's. If it was T-Rex poop, all right, they wouldn't go on stage. This is a pigeon. I mean, how often could they really be pooping? You know? A lot. Have you? Really? You guys ever live in a big city?
We live in one now. No, a big city. Chicago. There's a million people here. Chicago, New York, L.A., a big city. San Diego is so small. Your city is bigger than mine. With a billion pigeons everywhere. Whole city covered in doo-doo. What do they do? Do they go home? What do you mean? The city. Do they shut down? Yeah, they shut down and go home. I just think how many could fit up there. A lot. And how often are they really going to go? We saw, me and my wife saw two birds, two pigeons doing it this weekend. What? Making love. Rebecca goes, get a room. This is a family show. It was really interesting to watch them. I didn't know birds did it. They faced each other. Okay. And then they put their beaks together and they rubbed their beaks together and then moved their heads down. And they did that like three. Yep. I bet it was. For real. For real. I bet it was. They did that like three or four times. Then the other one went behind. Oh boy. And. Flew. Made it right. And made it right. Yeah. A few times. They did a few times. Good for him. They're showing it on TV right now. Kings of Leon hit my pigeon droppings during concert. They're showing pigeons doing it on TV. I saw beluga whales doing it one time. You did not. When I was a little kid at SeaWorld. They were doing it? Because you know how you can go down underneath and look through the glass, you know, of them in the water? And I was with my mom. I was probably like seven. And I remember being like.
This is not right. Whoa. It was massive, let me tell you. That's pretty incredible. Baby Beluga. I know. Who would have thought? It's a mating call. Something I never forgot. Clearly. 570-1949. It's like when Harry met Sally. It really is. Let's see. You know what? One of my songs has been taken down from my first page. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Darn it. What song? That love song from Manny Pacquiao. Oh, no. Can you put that back for me, Jay? Whoever took it down, thank you. It's the most beautiful song ever recorded. You love it. You do. It's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. It's so bad. You have it on your iTunes, don't lie. It's so bad that it's good. What song is it? You asked me if I loved you. And I'd something for my return. That was actually pretty close. Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao wants to be a singer in the worst way. And that's what he did. Maybe stick to what you know. Maybe. You know what I mean? 7 o'clock. 7 o'clock we got...
7 o'clock, we got audio from Comic-Con. Here's some Kings of Leon for you. That's right, brother. Queens of Leon from now on. It is. Sorry, it's not Justin Bieber. He would stay out there. He would. I'm at the radio on. I'm on my phone. Zienna. I love sharks. And Jay. Of course, I have an outrageous story. On FM 94.9. Big bandage on my ear. Because I cut my ear open this morning with a pair of scissors. That's a spot that you don't ever think about. But imagine it getting cut. Your earlobe. Yeah. I was trimming my beard. I didn't even know I cut myself. That's how sharp it was. I didn't even know. You do it with scissors? Yeah. I have these little tiny trimmers. And I was trimming my beard and it went into my earlobe. Bleed? Bleed. Bleed a lot. Bleeds. Yeah.
Bleeding. That's how I knew. I thought you got a new earring. I did too. I thought I was getting spacers. Spacers. Yeah. I went and found a small little band-aid. I had to cut the band-aid so I wouldn't be embarrassed with a big giant one. Yeah. And even the small bandage is embarrassing. Did the thought cross your mind? Maybe they won't notice. There was no chance. I knew the second I saw you, I was like, whoa, are you there, Band-Aid? Yeah, no chance that I will not be Band-Aid for the day. That I will not be known as Band-Aid. Is he Band-Aid? That's right. Is he Band-Aid? Careful there, Band-Aid. Watch out, Band-Aid. Don't trip. Has anyone seen Band-Aid? I think he's in the bathroom. Band-Aid, go to the bathroom. Is Band-Aid ready to go? What's Band-Aid one for lunch today? We got audio from Comic-Con at 7. And Woodsy's going to tell us all about who the Padres don't have to face anymore. That's good news. Yes, it is. And they're in first place, Padres. Man, they are doing so good. Padres are great. Yep. We went to the races on Friday as a show. L.O.B. could not go because she was doing stand-up that night, which I want to find out about. But we went as a show. And Jeffrey from Pample Moose gave us his tickets. So nice. So nice. Yeah.
Norv Turner was sitting two rows behind us. Have those seats back there, Norv. Yeah. I go, I go. Woods walked up and I go, Norv Turner's sitting two rows behind us. And Woods looks up at him, puts his head back, looks at him and goes, eh, maybe he goes back and watches some film right now. Doing it up at the racetrack real good. I guess you're satisfied with the way the team's been looking the last few years. Go ahead and go out and enjoy the races with your pals. Have a couple beers. Oh, stop. I'm allowed to enjoy time off. You are, Norm. For personal time to enjoy myself, I'm allowed to do that. Yes, you are. And then we saw Jim Rome. We did. Wow, really? God, he's sharp, dude. Yeah, he's pretty hot. Really? Wow. But in a way, like, you never. Did I just say yeah? You did, buddy. You did. He looks like Matthew McConaughey, like when Matthew's, like, all slicked up and looking good. Yeah. He's a pretty sharp dude, right? Saw Bob Baffert. Yeah, who owns... Very famous. World famous horse trainer. Like, world famous. Yeah. Number one guy. I know one horse trainer. It's Bob Baffert. One more than I know. Exactly. But it was cool. You saw Tim Conway. Saw Tim Conway. It's crazy. Yeah. I didn't win one single race and bet on everyone. That's so annoying. Yeah.
I won like $7. My wife actually did pretty well, but she actually has a system that works really great. She'll bet on every single horse to do something. Really? She would come back with five tickets. She's the only one that walked out of the money in her pocket, though. I know that. Mikey did okay. Yeah, if you get paid for last place horse, I would be a millionaire. Me and you both. Pick the wrong horse every single race. Oh, man. I'm pretty good at those things, usually. Really? Do you have a system, or do you just go by the names you like? There was one time where I would go by, like, the jockey. and try to pick him all the time, and then I would... Box up a trifecta. And then I would go by like the first name that jumped out on the page. The first name of the horse. That's what I do. Go with that one. Mikey's wife, Rebecca, is really good at it. She helped Todd on one. And she throws a horse named something Edward. And she was like, oh, Team Edward. Do that one. And Todd did. It was Kid Edward. It was Kid Edward. And I met it too. She immediately thought of Team Edward for Twilight, you know. And it won. Sucker won, didn't it? I know. L.O.B. did stand up that night. I did. How'd it go?
It went pretty well. I don't know. I'm just really hard on myself. A lot of the guys that were up there are big time. The guy that went on before me writes for Mad TV and Ugly Betty and stuff like that. I know. I went after him. That's not intimidating at all. What am I doing going after this guy? That's like Heath Bell pitching against me on Sundays. You know what I mean? To be real fair. Yeah. I just was like, wow. I felt very amateur. I felt like I was up there with a big voice. Really? I saw a lot of very positive comments on Facebook. Yeah, people were really great. I mean, it was, I'd never done this sort of gig before. I mean, I'm up there with guys that are doing at least 100 nights out of the year, and I'm doing like once a month at that, you know, at most. But I'd never been in the situation where it's the whole bar. So there's a whole, like... playground of things that you can be doing besides a lot of times i've been spoiled and done comedy clubs it was like the whole bar so you can be watching there was like football going on in the back room like hot some highlight reel was happening like people were playing pool so it was hard to focus because i and then i was right at the door where the smoking area was so i could hear every conversation that the smokers were having and so it was really hard for me to concentrate i do this thing where like
I feel like I'm standing behind myself watching myself perform. Really? Yeah. It's like real out of, like out of body autopilot sort of thing. Well, you need to not take mushrooms before. Yeah, that's a big part of that. That's a big thing. That's a big thing. Yeah, I just find myself being like, just get through and get off stage. Yeah. I would black out. Yeah, sometimes I do. That would be, I gotta hand it to you. That sounds hard. L.O.B.'s car got sprayed by a skunk. It's great. It was like. I stuck around. It ended up being a way later night than I thought it was going to be. I thought I was going to go on at like 8, and I went on around 10. Yeah. And then I stuck around and saw the rest of the show. And, you know, so I'm driving home. It's like after midnight, and I see these two little beady eyes in the middle of the road. And I thought, and I saw the black outline, and I was like, Sienna! Yeah, she's a black cat. The black cat. Turn around. So I slammed on my brakes. Skunk just stared at me. And then, like, turned around a 180 and sprayed right onto my grill. Did you stop? Yes. So you stopped to not hit it? I stopped to not hit it. I was like, you know, like, went over the whole, like, skipped on a speed bump and everything. Yeah.
And the thing was not phased at all, turned around and just sprayed the grill on my car and I saw it come out. Did you immediately smell it? Oh, yeah. Holy cow. You can see it come out? Is it like a green? It's green. In my headlights, it looked like yellowish, but I don't know if that was just because of my headlights or what. It's repulsive. It was like shocking. Oh, what a jerk. And then it just like sauntered off. It just saved your life. Yeah, exactly. I just saved your life. That's what you do to me? You spray me full of stink? I think it would spray you if you ran over it, too. It comes out. I've never actually hit anything. Knock on wood. Yeah, knock on wood. One time I ran over something that was already dead in the road. That's the worst. Yeah, I spun out and started crying and everything. What did you hit? I hit. A cat and Gilroy ran out at nighttime in front of us. Band-aid. It was awful. How could you hit a cat, Band-Aid? I know. Band-aid. It's so sad. What else can we tell you about? Oh, Jay, this was so funny. Jay wrote in his recap that he was playing with Jasper over the weekend, his seven-year-old son. They were playing, and they've been playing this game.
Since Jasper was a little kid called Angry Puppy. Is there such a thing? Sounds like an indie rock band. Where Angry Puppy chases you around on the trampoline and barks. And if Angry Puppy catches up with you, he growls and he tickles you. Oh, I know that game. Until you get away. Oh, really? Easy, Lauren. From being a kid. So Jasper and his buddy, they love the game. But this weekend, Jasper. Hold Jay aside. And what did he say, Jay? Actually, it was Jay, his little buddy. He said, Dad, or he said, Jay, we can play the game, but can you not tickle me? And I'm like, hey, that's part of the game, buddy. You know, you got to play the game like we got to play the game, you know? He's like, no, no, no, no. Not this time, because if you do, I've got to go number two real bad. And I can make no guarantees. Why not just go? And miss the game? Miss the game's about to start. I would say, okay, Mr. Isbell, give me five minutes. I'll be right back. Real rec shop and I'll be back. Let's play a good puppy after I...
Relieve my angry puppy. Little kids don't want to miss a thing. No. Big people don't want to miss a thing. It's true. That game, I can just see it right now. When you're a little kid, you get so scared. Fantastic. You want to be scared. Woods and I, after we went to Comic Con, we were starving and pulled into a church's chicken. Church's chicken is delicious. We had the worst iced tea. Ever. Without question. Ever made. How is that even possible? It wasn't iced tea. It tasted like chemically sweetened. Lemon flavored pee. I mean, that's the way I thought of it. And it was like, you know when you get lemon juice and little plastic lemons? It tasted like someone went... With like 12 of those. Really? It was so bad. I had one sip and we got the big ones. It's this big. It's, you know, a foot tall. A gulp. At the stoplight, I ripped the top off and just poured it out. It was the filthiest thing. It was the filthiest thing I'd ever drank in my life. Oh, gross. Like, I think that Tom Hanks would have not drank that on Castaway. On Castaway. I'll just wait. I'll wait for it to rain. I'll just dehydrate.
Gross. Well, I'm going to tell you here in a second who got traded out of the NL West. But first, I wanted to let you know the Chargers camp opens today. Nice. With rookies and select veterans. And then Thursday, all of the veterans will report. Well, most of them. There's some folks that still aren't signed here. Oh, jeez. Oh, man. But, you know, the thing is. Chargers veteran quarterback Phillip Rivers is really, he's super excited about camp. And they were talking to him yesterday about, you know, Phillip, what's going to make, they were asking him, where's McNeil? Where's Jackson? Where's, you know, where's Merriman? Are these guys going to come? And he said, basically his quote was, listen, we can only control what we can control. And he says the only thing that's going to keep them from having a really good camp is these constant questions about guys that aren't there. Yeah, how about you get off our backs and let us practice? And that's the thing is, like, If you're going to move on, you've got to move on. And especially him being the leader of the team and the quarterback, he's like, hey, I can't think about Vincent Jackson. I've got to see what these guys out here can do. So camp, again, starts today. Very, very exciting that football is back. I, for one, am thrilled. It's going, man. It's going. It's going. It's time. Best time of the year. I feel like there's been so many changes to the Chargers. I know. Phillip Rivers is the only one I can be like, oh, yeah, yeah, he's coming back. Yeah, and he's going to play well. Scrollzy.
And Sproles-y, and we got to get Ryan Matthews on that field, man, this week. I mean, I bet A.J. Smith is just working nonstop to get this guy in camp. Well, yeah, without him, basically, Darren Sproles is... He's the guy. That's the guy. If we don't sign our first-round draft pick. That's right. And also, Jamie McMurray continues his great year behind the wheel. Man, this is pretty amazing. He took the Brickyard 400 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend. And he also won the Daytona 500 this year. So that's a pretty big accomplishment. But the interesting thing is his owner, Chip Ganassi, is the first owner in history to win the Indy 500, the Brickyard 400, and the Daytona 500 in the same year. How's that feel? That's a triple crown for you, pal. Holy cow. Here's Jamie McMurray talking about it. Cut one. When Kevin gave me the outside, I thought that was my only chance. He sounds 12, by the way. He does. He does. We both spun the tires really, really bad. But when I got down to turn one, my car just had a lot more grip than it did the run before. I don't know if the air pressure had built up a little bit. I worked my tires in really, really hard under.
the yellow to get the pressure built up. And, man, I just had way more grip that last run than I did the run before that. Yeah, I guess so because you've now won the Daytona 500 and the Brickyard 400. That's pretty incredible. Yeah. Also, the Hall of Fame, the Baseball Hall of Fame inductions were this weekend. It's always really cool to see these guys that you grew up watching get inducted. Andre Dawson, his nickname was Hawk, played for the Cubs. He was great, played for the Expos. Eight-time All-Star. Whitey Herzog was a manager, won a World Series with the St. Louis Cardinals. Here's a message to the young players from Andre Dawson, cut two. Individuals have chosen the wrong role. Or chosen. And have chosen that. Or chosen. You know what? Others still have a chance to choose theirs. Do not be lured to the dark side. Wow. It's a stain on the game. A stain gradually being removed. Sounds like a sermon. I know. I know he did. The preacher man. And also the Padres swept the Pirates this week and returned home to take on the Dodgers this week. Good job. Their season starts tomorrow. Because it gets tough now? Dodgers coming in. Yeah. Dodgers coming in. Like I said, they're coming off a three-game sweep of the Pirates. They're 19 games over 500, but the cool thing about it, they could care less. Here's Gonzo. Cut three.
Look at 19 games over 500 all you want, but if you don't finish on top of the division, it doesn't really matter. You can get all excited as you want right now, but you've got to continue to play good baseball all the way through. We're not even focusing on that. I don't think that's even a thought in our heads. That's the thing I like about this team. They're not patting themselves on the back because you know what they realize? They haven't done anything yet. They haven't won the West yet, and they have a long road to hoe. Heath Bell, who's quickly becoming my favorite Padre. Had some of the same comments about it. Cut four. I think it's really impressive to me that I don't think any of us know that. Yeah. That we're just going out there and playing, and we just want to win. You know, we're not looking, going, dude, we're 19 games up. Hey, we could be 20 games up. We could be 30 games up, over 500, this and that. We're just going out there and playing ball. Good job. I like it, man. These guys are really focused. And so there's a guy that they're not going to have to face anymore because he has been traded. to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. His name is Danny Heron, and he is the ace of the Diamondbacks staff. Not having the best year, but he's one of the best pitchers in baseball. Here he is on the trade to the Angels, cut five. A couple days ago, I thought I was going to go to New York, and then Philly, and all these names. And then it turns out to be Anaheim.
You know, it's been crazy. I'm definitely glad it's over. So are we. Get some closure and move on to the next chapter of my life. Kick rocks, pal. There you go. And that's Woods on Sports, buddy. So we got this thing that we do called the panel. The idea behind it is we talk about the big news of the day. And we have a panel, myself, Woodsy, and Lauren O'Brien. First thing up, what do you think about this, dudes? I want to ask the guys specifically what you think about this. There was some woman that contacted Kim Kardashian and told her that she wants to look like her. It was on Twitter. She wrote, I'm getting head to toe plastic surgery next week to look like Kim Kardashian. So my husband won't leave me. He worships her. And Kim Kardashian read this on Twitter and immediately responded, no. She continued, said, please don't. Your husband should love you for who you are, et cetera, et cetera. And you shouldn't have to change yourself, you know, for anybody but yourself. Be yourself. Woodsy, who do you think the hottest woman in Hollywood is? Megan Fox. Okay. Would you advocate your wife, Jamie, getting plastic surgery to look like Megan Fox because she's...
Megan Fox is hot to you. Absolutely not. No. It's one of the most absurd things I've ever heard in my life. How come? Why is it absurd? Yeah. Because I married Jamie. I didn't marry Megan Fox. That's a woman I love. Forget it. It's ridiculous. And that would creep me out to no end. Yeah. It's plastic surgery to alter your appearance to look like somebody else is very weird to me. I just immediately think of Octomom, Angelina Jolie. Angelina. She wanted to look like Angelina. So creepy. Lauren. I think that that guy is just such a D for even, like, letting this girl think that that's a good idea and then pushing her to do it and be like, yeah, yeah, I'm going to leave you unless you do that. I mean, it's just taking fantasy to a whole new level and putting somebody's health at risk to do so. Do you think the guy, I mean, we don't know if the husband said that. That may have been the woman's absurd idea. Being a nutbag. Yeah, I mean, my feeling is you marry the person you marry, not Kim Kardashian. Yeah. It's, listen, not to overstate the case, it sounds like she's kind of crazy. Yeah, a little bit. Yeah, why was I so afraid to say she sounds completely crazy? Like, who says that?
She sounds completely crazy. I just think it's cool of Kim Kardashian. Like she probably gets, I don't know, like anyone that's on Twitter, you get that at and it's somebody's, you know, kind of sending you a direct tweet either about you or to you. She probably gets thousands of those. And for her to see that and respond to the girl, I think that's pretty cool. I can't tell you exact, I can't picture and visualize in my mind what she looks like. Kim Kardashian? Yeah, in fact, because I'm so, I'm out of the loop when it comes to a lot of that. particular kind of stuff so we had kim kardashian on the air one time when i was at the old station i had to tell her respectfully i'm not that familiar with you you know and i remember asking her you know can you tell me and and other guys maybe that are in the same position that don't know exactly what you do what do you do i don't think she'd be able to tell you a tough time i'm a celebrity yeah i go to red carpets yeah She's a person that's famous for being famous. Slay football players. One in particular. She was boyfriend and girlfriend with... Really? Reggie Bush and Miles Austin now for the Cowboys. That's her new boyfriend. Really? Yeah. No way. Has that been confirmed? Oh, 100%. Me and Kim Kardashian. You do? Yeah. Like the brothers. You both like... You think Reggie Bush and Miles Austin's pretty hot, right? On Facebook, they have...
a little button that you can click on that says like it means somebody put something or you see something that you like and you can click the little like button to let people know i like that yep like let's say somebody writes uh have a fantastic tuesday maybe you go i like that sentiment i'm gonna click on like maybe somebody puts their fan of the mikey show you go i like the mikey show too i'll click like that's what like is well now they're asking people About something new, right? Well, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg told Diane Sawyer, apparently Diane asked if they would ever add a dislike button. And he said, yeah, you know, we've gotten comments on it before. That's something that we're thinking about. However, later on it came out that he would never add a dislike button because it does nothing but bad. You know, the like button is something that's good for people. It makes people feel good if people like their comments. But a lot of people think that there should be a dislike button. And there's 3.2 million fans that started a page trying to get a dislike button. Woodsy, should there be a dislike button on Facebook? Yes, I'm one of those 3.2 million fans that is requesting a dislike button. Yeah. I think it's very important. If you can give one side, you should be able to give the other. There should be two sides of every coin. That's right. Lauren? I agree completely with Woods. I think some people might at first abuse it.
try to clown their friends that are like, I'm having such a great day, and their friends might at first dislike it. And then it'll fade. But I think it'd be fun to kind of point out when someone's putting something stupid to you. I don't know. I think that Zuckerberg is wise to not have a dislike button because I know that the first time... I wrote something and somebody disliked it, it would hurt my feelings. That'd be sad. It would hurt my feelings. And I think that it's just another opportunity for people to be mean. Yeah. And I don't want to give, I don't want to put a weapon in their hands. There's enough meanies out there. But you would hope, I mean, there's plenty of people that put a status like, man, I'm having the worst day. Like, I just hope. Or, like, sometimes I feel like, why do I even bother? And, like, you don't get a whole lot of people liking that. You know what I mean? Yeah, but you don't have to. Maybe what you see when people do that, I think, is you see people writing them and going, ah, man, cheer up. But I'm saying you could look at it that way as well, that when you put up a status update that's, like, saying, like, my life sucks right now, and if someone liked it, that'd be mean, you know? What if somebody puts, hey, I just saw a...
I just saw this movie, whatever, and it was great. And somebody's like, dislike. You're like, really? Jerk? They're entitled to their... There's comments that go like, really? You like that movie? I'm disappointed in you. Yeah, you can make a comment. You can make a comment on anything and say anything. And Lord knows we've all seen some nasty comments in our time. And, you know, I mean, I think it's no different. You know what I bet you'd start hearing around the office? So... I wrote blah, blah, blah on Facebook. And freaking Victoria disliked it. And I was like, what's your freaking problem? And she was like, I just don't like it. I'm telling my opinion. I was like, well, whatever. Why don't you just shut up and not say anything? Not click on anything. Or like in conversation, like we'd be talking about something and I'd be like, OMG, dislike. Dislike. Dislike. Yeah, it'd be like the new phrase. Dislike. What's the deal with the Walmart? Radio tags. Okay, well, starting next month, Walmart is going to start having removable smart tags on individual items of clothing. And basically, they can be read by a handheld scanner. But Walmart workers will be able to quickly learn where the...
Wrangler jeans are and which are missing and how many they have and everything about them. But there are people that don't like these. Did you just say what? Did you just say, Jay, when Sienna said Wrangler jeans? No. Oh, that's awesome. He can't hear you. Did you hear me? Oh, no. I'm just planning where I'm going to put the body. So basically, they're just a new, really smart tag on all of the items of clothing. But people are upset about this because I guess these tags can be removed from clothing and packages and whatever you buy, but they cannot be turned off and are trackable. So if you go home after you buy something and, you know, they take off the smart tag, I guess you can still track the item of clothing as to where it goes. Yeah, but isn't that like those things that they put on clothes so you don't steal them? Yeah, and it should be removed. I think it's like, you know how you get a CD and there's that square? Yeah, that little white plastic square. Yeah, and sometimes it's in an expensive item of clothing. Woods, what do you think about that? I'm a little confused. It's a tag that's going to go in your clothes, and if they forget to take it off, they know where you are. No, they can take it off. It can be removed, but I guess there's privacy advocates that are saying that marketers or criminals can...
Find your house by these tags. Yeah, in your trash can. Yeah, in your trash can. Even if they are removed, items are always going to be like permanently tagged, even when they remove the big plastic thing. So even if they take it off, you're still trackable? I guess. That's what they're saying. The tag itself is always trackable. So even if you throw it away or even, you know, if it's in your, once you take it home and cut it off yourself, it's still in the vicinity of where your home is, where your trash is. And criminals? They can find it. Basically, it's a tag from Walmart that they'll always be able to track it wherever it is. Wherever that tag goes. Yeah, if you cut it off and it's in your trash, criminals can track. How? I don't know. I don't either. That's why I think it's... Let's go around. My quote is gift. I think that's ridiculous. I don't want my jeans tracked. I don't want my wranglers. I don't want them to know where my wranglers are. Wrangler butts drop me nuts. It should be deactivated the way that the sensor thing, the magnet thing is deactivated. I mean, find out a way to do that. And if you can't figure it out, then don't put it on there. I think it's the stupidest thing. Like, who's who's going to I don't think people are going to be going on the computer and tracking me down because I bought Wranglers.
Grow up, everybody. We've got to grow up. But that's just like how you have to think now, unfortunately, you know? What if the diamond earrings are tagged? What if the more big ticket items are tagged? New flat screen. Maybe I want to go to that guy's house and steal that TV. You're overthinking it. Senator John Kerry apparently knows how many years it's going to take for there to be no ice left in the Arctic. Oh, wow. And it isn't long. Okay, what he said. Now, he also said that he was a swift boat captain. And that wasn't true either. So, how long do you think we got left in the Arctic? Ice. How long is ice going to last in the Arctic? And how do you just say this? How are you allowed to just say... I want to say to Senator Kerry, how come you just get to say that? Say whatever you want. I guess you can. I guess you're allowed to just say whatever you want. Also, when we come back, Comic-Con audio. Mia Woods at Comic-Con. And what happened?

So there is still plenty of time to book your summer vacation, and we're once again joined by Meredith Hanrahan, Chief Travel Officer for CheapFlights.com. Now, Meredith, if you're traveling with kids, what are some tips we should keep in mind? I mean, like, we should always board the planes early, right? You know, it always sounds like it's a really good idea, but the downside is you're going to be sitting on the aircraft in small, cramped spaces for another 45 minutes before the flight. And your kids are going to get really, really bored. We actually recommend the opposite and say bored last. So you minimize the time that you spend with nothing to do.
So now you're on a plane, what can you do to kind of keep the kids happy? Well, there are a couple of things. We always say bring a new toy or a surprise bag of toys that they've never seen that have new activities, whether it's coloring books or sticker books or a new CD, so that they're really engaged in something they haven't seen before. We also talk about, you know, having a reserve lollipop or some gum as a backup to keep the kids distracted. I like the lollipop in the back pocket as a secret weapon. I can't tell you how many parents have told me about the secret power of the lollipop. Thanks, Meredith. Check out the website today, CheapFlights.com. February 2009, Marquez versus Diaz. Senator John Kerry wanted to be the President of the United States of America at one point. He was not elected. What he does not have that Obama had was that presence.
That charisma. When Obama spoke, people were captivated. When John Kerry speaks, he does not hold an audience in the same way. You can really hear that in this clip. But he does say something that, to me, is freaking nuts what he says. I know, right? Right? And it is. Really? There's no doubt about it. I think that so far what I've heard. I was kind of like, I was falling asleep. But wait till you hear what he says. I am not a global warming expert. I'm not. I am not. I thought you were. Most people did think that. Come on, Band-Aid. But what I will tell you is, is that I think it's a pretty bold statement to say that the ice in the Arctic is going to melt within the next five, ten years. Now, maybe.
Maybe it is. But all I can tell you is, is that if it doesn't, if it's five years from now and there's still ice in the Arctic, 10 years from now and there's still ice in the Arctic, do you think that Senator John Kerry will be reminded of his comments? Of course. And isn't that, by the way, isn't that a little bit of an alarmist statement to make to a planet that's already kind of, aren't we all kind of freaked out anyway? Yes. Take it easy on us. Yeah. You know, John Kerry walked in a bar one time and the bartender looked at him and said, hey, man, why the long face? All right. I know what that's meant to be. Come on. Because John Kerry's. He's got a long face. He does. He does. So did Abe Lincoln, though. It's okay. Long face. Some people just have it. You can't help it, you know. It's the way his face whispers. Fuck. So, Woodsy and I went out to Comic Con. Oh, boy, we sure did. What did you wear? I need to know everything. Yeah, I don't remember. You guys, you even talked about wearing a sheet and dressing up like this. What happened to that? Thought about it. Chickened out. Chickened out. Guys. Well, can I just set the stage from the get-go? Sure. So, we drive down and we get our passes and everything. Oh, no. We pull into the parking garage and we're parking the car and we see two dudes about Jay's age. Old.
Older guys. Jay's 47. 47. They're walking in, and they're in full Stormtrooper regalia. As they should be. Minus the helmet, right? So their helmets are off. They're carrying their helmets. And trudging behind them is a little five-year-old kid that's like, you can see it in his face, like, great, my dad's a dork. Yeah, you can see in this five- to seven-year-old's face, you know what? Tommy's dad is taking him to the podge. Yeah, yeah. Where am I? I'm here at the Nerd-a-thon with my nerd dad. Kids like Comic-Con. This kid didn't. Maybe he just got yelled at right before he saw him. This one was not clicking the like button. Maybe dad didn't let him dress up how he wanted to. Yeah, that's what it was. Dad is a giant nerd. It looked like it was a long day in Hoth, too. He should have been the young Luke Skywalker. First thing that Woods and I said to each other, by the way, because we'd been at Comic-Con at that point for 5.8 seconds. And I looked over at Woods and I go, Not too much dressing up this year, huh? Because that's what we had heard. That's what you guys were telling us. That's what we had heard. We'd heard that, you know, we're really going more mainstream. Not as much dress up. The hardcores will always dress up. Oh, let me tell you. They were there. They were there.
I almost got, so we get our passes, we're walking into the event, and then this idiot in a full outfit with pipes sticking out of the sides almost runs me over, and one of his pipes hits me in the rib. And I stop, and I go, hey, really, dude? And he just kept walking back to Sith Land or wherever he was going. You need to get in the spirit of Comic-Con if you're going there. Oh, I was in the spirit, believe me. There's 125,000 people you're going to knock up against each other. I know. First person that I interviewed. I'm in the middle of a mouth. of the worst vendor cheeseburger I've ever had in my life. It's like a soy burger. It's disgusting. It was so bad. I'm in the middle of eating this thing. And Woods goes, with a mouthful, Woods goes, Mikey, interview this guy right here, right now. And I'm like... So you can hear me trying to swallow my food. Swallow my lunch as I start to talk to these two guys and try to figure out... who Tobin Bell is, because one of them really wants his autograph. All right, so I'm here live at Comic-Con. Oh, wow. Wow, you weren't kidding. I sure wasn't. And let's see. Make sure that this recorded level is good. Swallow. Testing one, two. All right, so I'm here live at Comic-Con, and I have a couple of guys here with me. What's your name, sir? My name is Chris. And Chris has a giant...
like bowl over his head. It's like a box. It's like a box. It's like a box. It's full of water and, you know, gives the appearance that it's underwater. What are you? I'm trapped in a saw head trap mask. It's drowning me right now. Yep. All right. Of course. And now, did you, is this? Of course you are. Of course you are. By the way, you hear the echo when he talks because he had a box. Mikey had to put. The recorder. The recorder down into the box. Oh, yeah. I was picturing how you were doing this. You had to stick the recorder inside of his box, which, by the way, was fogged up from his breath. From his breath. He sounds cute. Does he? Yeah. Isn't that pretty hot? Yeah. Yeah, he won a beauty contest there later in the day, I guess. Did you make it? Yes, I did. How long's construction on something like that take? It took me... Longer than the Death Star or shorter than the Death Star to construct? In six and eight weeks. Six and eight weeks. Now, how often can you eat with this on? Not very often. I have to take the entire thing completely off to eat or drink. And it's quite heavy, so I don't mind taking it off frequently. How much does that thing weigh? Sounds like a nice guy. Yeah. He's a great guy. He weighs about 18 pounds. Whoa! And then that's without water.
18 pounds, and then he puts water in it. Wait, so there was... I was picturing, like, saran wrap. There's real water in this thing? It gives the appearance that this dude is drowning with just his eyes above the water level. Oh, my gosh. It was really a cool deal, but... That's hardcore. It was very intricate. Yes. That is quite a contraption. Now, you guys are friends, right? Absolutely, yeah. What's your name, sir? My name is Jay. And Jay, what are you? I'm a Saw victim from the first Saw movie. First you are. Yep. Okay. Now, did you make this device that you have on? Yes, I did. How did you do that? A metal contraption? Yeah, the one that, like, rips their jaw apart. Made from a lawnmower. Looks like a little. Well, I used to work at a hardware store, and instead of working during work hours, I was constructing this for about four weeks. Oh, wow. His boss is like grace. When you're done with it, what do you do with this contraption when you're done? Well, I put this on the shelf with a few of my other creations, and hopefully I get this autographed by Tobin Bell. Yeah, for sure. How many creations did he have? He said he had a bunch at home. Yeah, Tobin Bell. He was hoping Tobin Bell would sign it, and I just looked at him like, who's Tobin Bell? And I know, everybody's going to know, Tobin Bell. I don't know who Tobin Bell is. Tobin Bell, they're going to start writing and calling and texting. I feel like the guys that dressed up, Saw, Saw's not even really.
I know. Science fiction or anything. It's just horror. Horror. But they got everything there now. I know. Now the Comic Con is everything. This next person was Free Hugs guy. Oh. He had a big... Oh. Tobin Bell. Woodsy's showing me a picture of him. He's the actor that plays the Saw villain. He was also in The Firm. All right. Looks like something from Lord of the Rings. I know it. Well, free hugs guy was a guy holding a cardboard sign giving out free hugs. I love that guy. Big M1, too. Big M1. And Woods decided to take him up on the free hug. Good man. Several. Bro it out? Yeah, bro it up real good. Shirtless, actually. Did you do the pat? The backpack? We did a pantsless, shirtless hug. Yeah. Really, we got excited for it. Wow. Okay, so it's Woods. I'm standing here. I'm at Comic-Con. On sensory overload. I've never seen anything like this. I'm standing here with a new friend. M1 Blaze. M1 Blaze. Yeah. You have a sign that says. M1 Blaze towered over me. Really? That was a little like Kermit. Yeah. Yeah. Well, he was as big. He was a big man. Big dude. And I hugged him. Full. Full hug. Full, full man. You got into it? Do a little shake. Yeah.
Free hugs. Yes. Why are you giving out free hugs? Free hugs are a safe touch, and who doesn't want to hug? Free hugs are a safe touch. That's right. That should be the slogan for free hug. Yeah, safe touch. Free hugs are a safe touch. Safe touch. Safe touch. I want one. I want one. Here we go. Oh, my gosh. Is that a trifecta? Yeah. Three of us hugged the same time. Tight. Tight. How many comic books? You guys. Moist. It was moist. I'm sorry. It was moist. Like a lightsaber fight. It was moist. I mean, a little weird. What concept have you been to? Since 92. Whoa. I've had to miss four. You've missed four. I should have asked why. What made you miss the four? Probably deaths in the family. Yeah. Yeah, you don't want to ask. It's probably serious, right? 18 years. Guys, no joke. He is not screwing around. I want to get one more free hug. Yeah, one more free hug. Let me get a hug, buddy. Let me get a hug. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. What? It's moist. Thank you. You ready for this next one? You ready for this? This was, if this is what I think it is. This guy, these two guys, these two men.
We're in the lobby of the convention center. Oh, gosh. Wiz, what did you do? In big, giant, yellow, biotoxic suits that were homemade. Uh-huh. Definitely homemade. 100% homemade. Black rubber gloves. Uh-huh. Up to here. Up to their elbow. They looked so, like, warm. Did they have masks on their faces? Oh, yeah, like, homemade. Full with foil, um, sea. This is awesome. That's what you're supposed to do. Did they say who they were supposed to be? Oh, yeah, they do. Oh, yeah. No, they didn't let us down at all. Yeah, here, we talked to them. Can I interview you guys for the Mikey Show here in San Diego? Sure. Oh, yeah, yeah. You guys are nuclear salt and pepper shakers. We are agents of AIM. That's advanced idea mechanics. Yes. Of course you are. I knew that. Yeah, of course you knew it. We all knew it. No, you guys are the guys from AIM. Advanced idea mechanics. Are you sure that that's not a salt and pepper shaker? They both had these helmets on that were like round tops, and they had holes poked in the top for air, obviously, for air. They look like salt and pepper shakers. You're the henchman of science in the Marvel Universe. What planet are you from? We are from Earth. We're Earth. We're humans right underneath these masks. I know, but like what city do you hail from if you're from Earth?
Well, we have different cells all over the planet, but mainly we actually are based out of San Diego. We're from the San Diego branch. Okay, and because you're so heavily garbed, this is really good that we're experiencing a mild summer. Yes, very much so. We're already quite hot and our ventilation systems have broken. I can't tell if they're talking as themselves or if they're speaking in character. No, they're speaking in character. They're in character. What do you bet they have droid cell phones? Just so they can say, I have the droid. A hundred percent. They are earthlings, though. Don't forget. What are the insurance benefits like with this position? You know, when you start off as kind of your low-level grunt, you don't have that many benefits. But if you work your way up like we have. Can I just tell you, I guarantee they're better than what we have at Lincoln Finance. 100%. I guarantee that. Of course. He says I wouldn't be surprised. I wouldn't be surprised. Well, don't be surprised, buddy. I love that. Because it cost me $157,000 to fill a prescription. Yeah.
All right. It's possible. They need to have good insurance because of how often we are attacked by superheroes. Oh, yeah, they're in character. Happens a lot. Yeah. It happens all the time. These guys are exactly what Comic-Con is all about. Yeah. All about. You have to stay, like, in character, you know? Yeah, Woods and I did. No, we sure did. I know, wife. I asked, the question I just asked him was, You know, what kind of toll does this take on a wife? You know what? I'm not married. She couldn't handle the stress of me going and working on potentially dangerous technologies. It's hard. And also with the fact that... You have to have a wife that kind of gets it. She gets it. Hey, listen. Hey, honey, I'm with AIM. What is it? Advanced idea. Machinery. In the movie, this is what the scene would look like. Babe. I'm not a banker, okay? I don't keep bankers hours. I don't keep bankers hours. I'm not a banker. I am a member of AIM. What is AIM? AIM is what protects you, babe. It's the name of a toothbrush or a toothpaste. No, no. Yeah, maybe it is, but you know what else it is? It's a made-up job. It's something that allows, well, first of all, it puts food on our table. Yes, it does.
But in addition to that, it keeps our city free of menace. Yeah, so does Batman. You know what? How dare you? You're buried to Batman, all right? That's when he picks his napkin up and he goes, you know what? Likes his face. Likes his face. Puts it down. Takes his wallet out. Takes his chair back. That has his aim card in it and he just throws a couple 20s down the table and walks out. Labs are constantly broken into by Captain America or Thor. As you guys can see, health and fitness does not play a big role in my life. What about in yours? We have to do daily exercising. We have to do at least a mile once a week. A mile once a week. Very rigorous. It's a mile more than I do. Well done, guys. You guys are kind of my heroes. If we work out together, maybe you can push me. Probably don't hear this enough. Thanks for what you do. Thanks for what you do to our community. Thanks to our country. And mostly our country. And thank you just for what you do as, you know, citizens. Well, you know, that's what we're here to do, and we're here to provide for the public. Thank you. Thank you very much, guys.
Guaranteed those guys got laid that night. You think? Maybe they did. 100%. What do I know? Fight each other. No. Did they make that up, that aim, or is that from an existing movie or something? I don't know. I like girls. L-O-B? So do they, and girls love that. They stayed in character. They fight villains. They're heroes. They have their rap down. I know. They have to have a woman that's strong enough to be able to handle what aim is going to ask of their husband. Over under that. Don't you say that they do some sort of training, like at home during the week? They write out scripts before Comic-Con so that they know. Okay, Comic-Con's over. It's Monday. Are they getting up and going to training right now? They're in Balboa Park right now, and they've got their... Training. You think? I think they're back to work at Qualcomm or something. They put their blue polos back on, and they're heading back to Best Buy. That's the brilliance is that they blend right into society. You don't know. It's like a superhero. It is. That's true. Because what they said was their labs are constantly being attacked by Thor. They have to have a facade. Their regular job has to be a facade. We...
We were not prepared for what our eyes were going to consume. How could you not be? And I'm talking when we entered into the convention center floor, there was so many things happening and so many displays and people and costumes. And I just was not prepared. Mikey was on his phone at one point. He was texting somebody weird. I was like, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude. Look up, look up, look up, look up, look up. Every 30, every three seconds. Yeah. Did that ever stop or did you get used to it? No. Somebody was walking by. We were like, oh, my gosh. There's a picture on the Facebook page of Mikey with a guy in a Speedo. Yeah. Yeah. Who was he? Who was he? Just a man. Aquaman. Just two men. The picture is hilarious. I was so. Did you guys see celebrities? I saw LL Cool J. LL Cool J. There's so many. Tom Sizemore. was supposed to be there. Yeah. Big name. Yeah, I mean, I think Tom Sizemore's a pretty big actor. I love Tom Sizemore. You don't know Tom Sizemore? Well. He was in Heat. He's more of a guy. Yeah, he's a guy. He's a guy actor. He, you know, big, listen, bad boy. Bad boy. Loved him. I wanted to go back. I turned into the Comic-Con guy. I go, we went to eat lunch. I go,
Hey, on our way out, can we stop by the booth where Tom Sizemore is so I can say hi and get a picture? We went back there and there was a sign up that said running 45 minutes late. We were like, weird. Weird. Guy's had his issues. He's had his issues with drugs and alcohol. Yeah. Here he is talking about it. The thing for me that was really difficult was like when I get clean is looking at the devastation that I have wrought in my life. He was broadcasting from Mars. That's right. Yeah, he was broadcasting from Mars. That place was the wackiest. Wacky. Here was a moment. We get our vendor cheeseburger. Delicious. And they won't let us sit down. We sit down on the floor because we want to eat. And the guy comes on. Guys, can't sit here. He tells all of us there. You can't sit here and eat. You have to get up. And Woods goes, showing great restraint, by the way. Woods goes, where do we go? And he says, you can either go upstairs or you can go outside.
So we get up and he says, or you can go and sit in one of the aisles, which I don't know what that even means. What does that mean? Just block the flow of traffic. So we get up. We're not blocking the flow of traffic, by the way. We get up. We walk about 20 feet down. We sit again. Five minutes later, he comes by. Guys, you're not allowed to sit here. Sorry, I don't mean to be mean, but you can't sit here. So we get up. We go and we find this area that he's talking about called the Isle, where all these witches and warlocks and ghouls are sitting eating, okay? And I go, what's, what's, what's, what's, what's, what's, what's, what's, what's, what's, what's, what's, what's, what's, what's. Because I see two women. They're witches. One's a witch. And one, I don't know. She's cloaked. She's a ghoul. She's a ghoul. She brought one of your cloaks. She brought one of my cloaks. There she sat. And I just want you to just try to visualize this. Sitting Indian style is a witch with a full witch regalia eating fries. And Woods goes, Woods goes, he goes, hey, Mikey, here's what the interview would sound like. So here we are. We're talking to a witch. You're obviously a witch.
That was a fry. Shouldn't she be eating rats or something? Something out of like a cauldron. Some cat eye or something. There's just something really surreal about watching a woman dressed as a witch shoveling fries. There's just something innately comical about that. When we come back, Woods is going to be talking about an area of his personal life that he's never really discussed in detail on the air that's a pretty emotional subject for him. And if you don't know Woods very well, you get to know a lot about something that we as his friends know about pretty intimately, but you're going to know about as well. We'll talk about that when we come back. How are these levels, friends? Call 570-1949. Or text 949mikey at gmail.com. More of the Mikey Show coming up in minutes on FM 94.9. Maybe a waist-high plus wave at the top open areas to that rare and random southwest swell direction. Overcast skies will greet you. A little bit of residual wind bump from yesterday's winds and some early onshore westerly winds. And there is a negative low tide earlier this morning that is further hurting size and shape. Sienna, what's going on in the news? Well, there's been some crazy weather, as we know, throughout the country. And on Saturday, the Lake Delhi Dam failed as a result of heavy rain. Where's that? Pretty crazy. The Lake Delhi. Is that here in San Diego? No, no, no, no, no. It's over by Cedar Rapids. Oh. In Iowa. Okay. Yeah. I mean, a huge, huge flood, dam breaking, 200 structures at least destroyed, over 1,000 damaged buildings. I mean, just crazy stuff. Millions of people put out by this dam flood. Yeah, so pretty crazy. But some local news. Do you know who the Cardiff kook is, the statue? You know what? I heard that and don't know what the Cardiff kook is. When you're in Encinitas or Cardiff, I think right when you drive in, you see a statue of a surfer. It's like a bronze statue.
This? Yes. Yeah. Well, some pranksters decided to mess with the Cardiff Cook statue over the weekend. And I don't know how they did this, but they put a huge 15-foot paper mache great white shark around it as if it was eating the statue. Hilarious. It's supposed to look like the Jaws poster, right? Yes. Okay. Have any of you guys seen it? Oh, yeah. It's on my Facebook page. I went and took pictures of it. I got to see it, Jay, because from what I've heard, it... Oh, my. I'm showing him a picture right now. They mess with him every weekend. They'll put him in a tutu or a bathing suit or whatever. So it's always, like, one-upping it. Didn't you tell me that nobody really likes that statue? Nobody. They could have put Rob Machado or somebody up that's, like, a town hero surfing, you know. But this guy's got his arms all out like a crazy person. He surfs. He looks like me when he's surfing. The sculptist or whoever it is was watching a beginner, and that was his muse. Some random beginner guy. Me and Mikey. So you mean to tell me, well, first of all, this is very involved. Yes. Oh, yeah. I guess days leading up to this, there were shark fins placed near the statue, and each day they were...
being seen moving closer and closer to the statue. Shark fins. Right. And police were removing them and stuff because they would wake up in the morning and there would be shark fins about to make the attack. And then Saturday morning, there's a huge great white shark paper mache eating the statue. Yeah, I'm surprised it stayed up as long as it did because... Pranksters. I was glad. Everybody's out there taking pictures of news channels. We're all there. Hilarious. Yeah, Jay, what do you think? I love it. You like it, right? Well, I hate the statue. How come? And that's what I wanted to ask you. The dislike of the statue, is that kind of the norm? Well, it is. Everybody in that area is just like... Get it out of here. They want to tear it down. There was, like, a petition to get you to take it down. There's bumper stickers. Remove the card of kook. I don't feel that strongly about it. Oh, my gosh. I had no idea. I don't feel that strongly about it, but, you know. Why is it?
Because it's taxpayer dollars to this thing. Nobody surfs like this, you know? That's what it's about? Nobody surfs that way? I would have rather seen Rob Machado up there, like, you know, stand on the nose of his longboard or something like that. That'd be cool. Yeah, you've got somebody that, like, is on the map, you know, is a surf legend that's a local right there. You look right up above there. Right. His view is looking right over that area. Yeah. But, Woodsy, you're just learning right now. Oh, okay. Maybe someday. Woodsy, what's going on in sports? Well, for those of you who have been going to the Del Mar races for years, you know the name Tyler Bays. He's a jockey there, and he had a rough weekend. He's being treated for facial injuries after being head-butted by his horse. Holy cow. He's in the hospital, and surgery has been recommended, man. So, you know, prayers to he and his family for sure. A friend of mine Frenched him real good. Oh, boy. Alberto Contador won his third Tour de France. Really? Third in four years. And the first thing he said when he finished? What? I need a cold beer. Is that what he said? Was Lance out there, you think? Yeah. Riding it up? Okay. Lance, maybe you hang up the yellow. Yeah, Lance is done. Let's go live strong somewhere. Yeah, let's go live strong, bro. So this is, we have, you know, Woods has alluded to this on the air before. He's never talked about this in depth.
But it's such a big part of his life that he's willing to talk about it. And that is that you're going to go through the process of adoption. We are. You know, for those of you guys that don't know, Jamie and I have been together. Man. Coming on about nine or ten years. Dating and been married for three in November. So been together a long time. Been through a lot of stuff together. And I mean. We've been through more stuff than a lot of married couples I know. Yeah. You know, she lost both of her parents last year. It was brutal. But when we were dating, we were probably four or five years in, Jamie was diagnosed with cancer. And to be a 26-year-old guy, 27-year-old guy, you know, kind of immature and kind of an idiot. And to, you know, be in love with somebody and for them to get that diagnosis was pretty rough. You know, it was rough on her. It was rough on me and rough on our relationship, really. And so basically she had to go through chemotherapy, radiation, you know, very painful, very painful to watch and to be there through that with her. And, you know, just a really rough time. And she beat the cancer, which is great. And, you know, the.
The bad part about it, I guess, if you want to call it a bad part, was that she's not able to have children. And so anybody that knows me and anybody that knows Jamie knows that we love kids. We love kids. I mean, we ever since I was, you know, a young man, like the way that I was with my brother or kids in the neighborhood, I worked it. at youth camps i worked at the ymca in high school like i love kids you actually babysat babysat yeah and so it was hard you know it was really hard for us to to get our arms around that fact that you know we wouldn't be able to have kids the finger quote normal way um and you know after so many years of going through this stuff together and we uh you know we're able to now kind of joke about it you know and and to see You know, you'll see some parent kind of snap at his kid in the store and you want to kind of grab him around the throat and tell him you're really lucky. You know, there's a lot of people that take their kids for granted. I know that that's not something that she and I will ever do. So we had a really we had a tough day yesterday, man. We're we are going through the adoption process. And last week we went to.
a county adoption meeting, and it was, you know, it was fine. And basically what that was was more about foster care. And we're just not really in a position, and to be 100% honest, it's not really even something that we want to consider at this point in our marriage and our relationship, fostering somebody. I think it's so admirable for people that can do that. It's just not for us right now. And that's okay, dude. Right. But we walked out of that meeting feeling. really guilty you know and we got home and and we're sitting on the couch and jamie was like you know she kind of got teary-eyed and and she's like well you know i'm sorry i can't have a kid you know and so so it's never been for me like it's never been an issue you know but yeah he's getting misty she is just she's so like to get through that yeah what she did and and You know, to be who she is. It's so hard to talk about. Oh, my goodness. And she's just awesome. She's awesome. And I've never. You're getting me teared up. I know. I've never cared. I've never, ever been upset that that couldn't be that way. And I've never been, like, you know, resentful about it. And it is what it is, man. And I always make the joke of.
I always tell her, I'm like, it's fine because we don't need any more of my DNA running around. But, like, she's just such a good woman. The perfect mom. The perfect mom. Out of everybody I've ever met, you know, deserves to be a mom. And so we struggle, man. With that, it's a big part of our life. And, like, we had a rough day yesterday. So we have a meeting tomorrow. It's, you know, a really good thing with the private adoption agency. We're excited and we're nervous, but, man, they give you this paperwork to fill out. And, bro, I'll tell you what. When you're filling out a request for what you want, dude, it's the hardest thing we've ever had to do. They're not going to make it easy. They don't make it easy. And so it asks us, would you consider this? Would you consider that? And you feel bad if you don't.
Mm hmm. It's the old saying is beggars can't be choosers. Right. Well, we're not really begging. We want a child. But, you know, to to write down, you know, that you don't want a child with special needs or something is really hard. You know what? Really hard to do. And we were talking about this yesterday. Woods and I were talking about this yesterday. And I have a kid with special needs. And, you know, Jake is very high functioning autistic. And this is what. I say about it. It's the same thing that I said about the deal with a foster. It's you're allowed to have boundaries. And anybody that would look at you with anything that you wanted or anything that you didn't want and say that they want to judge anything that you would want or not want, that person is a ghoul. Is a ghoul. You are allowed to have
any wish or desire that you'd like. And you're also allowed to have a desire to not have another situation. And as a dad with a kid that has autism, bro, Rebecca does the work. She does all the heavy lifting with Jake. And all I can tell you is, is that it's hard. It's hard. Yeah. And you know, we filled this thing out and like, Hey, we, we put down, yes, we will take. And they actually have it broken down, you guys, into quarters. Would you take somebody that's a quarter African-American? Would you take somebody that's a half African-American? Would you take somebody that's a half Mexican-American? We put yes for all three of those. We would take 100% African-American baby, 100% Caucasian baby, 100% Mexican-American baby. But there's like five other nationalities on there that we were like, I don't know. I mean, and like you feel I felt like a turd.
I felt like a turd. When you think about, you know, on the flip side of the coin, you think about a kid that is so far removed from maybe a culture that you know. Right. And you think, like, would it be fair to them to not be able to let them know things about their culture? Would it be more appropriate for someone of a different background? Especially if you're getting an older child. Right. So you have to consider that, too. It's tough. And you write down, you know, you write down. Zero to six months. Yes. Six months to 12 months. Yes. 12 months to 24 months. Yes. And then you get like into the three, four and five and you're like, I mean, we put we have our we have our preferences. But you guys know who we are and how I like to think big our hearts are. I mean, look at my house. We have five dogs in my house. Why? Because we can't say no. You know, so if if somebody came to us and they said, OK. You can have a baby, but he's got a five-year-old brother. We're doing it. I mean, we are doing it, period. And, like, we just want, but we want the chance, like, you got, like, you're about to have, like, Jay's had, you know, four times. We want the chance to raise a baby as our own. You're going to be such a good dad. And that's all I've ever wanted. You know, I had such a good dad growing up and such a good mom.
We learned a lot, and Jamie's too, man. And for her to lose both of her parents last year, for us, it's really important that we get the chance to do this. We're getting a lot of calls. M1 Pablo from Fashion Valley, you there? Hey, good morning, crew. Good morning. How are y'all doing today? Good. Hey, first thing I just wanted to share, before you guys came on the radio, whoever I was listening to before were a bunch of geeks. I didn't realize. But anyways, on this topic, I was actually adopted when I was about a month or two old. And just something on a side note, and I know it's something that maybe comes across your mind. My dad was able to have kids. My mom wasn't when she went into surgery or something like that. Something went wrong. But anyways, I was adopted. I'm 31 years old now. There aren't anyone else in my life that I would consider my parents. My mother and my father are my full-hearted, 100%. Like, I feel I came from them. Again, I almost feel bad when I hear the word biological parents because, again, I have full respect for the people that put me up for adoption. I have that unknown love for them. But my mom and my dad are my everything. And even more so, it's kind of strange. I have become exactly like my dad. It's funny. Yeah. I mean, I'm exactly like my dad now, which is crazy.
I mean, it's a great thing what you're doing. Thank you. I mean, obviously on the altruistic level, but even on just like on a parenting and all that stuff, those are going to be your kids and they're going to love you. Like, they're the only parents that they know. For sure. And, you know, we have, you know, there's another thing that's really weighing heavily on our hearts. And, you know, it asks you, are you willing to have a relationship with the birth mother? And we said no. i think that's okay we said no and and um you know it's weird with my job if because this company that we go through this birth mother will actually get to pick you now with my job being doing what i do um that person would have the opportunity to because that will be i'm telling you guys will be woods on sports it'll be woods on baby every day because that's what you guys are going to hear about um when when we do get our child and and She would have that opportunity to listen and kind of know about the baby that she gave up, and that would be tough. That's going to be tough, too. Dude, the reason that those questions are there is because you have a choice. I know. Otherwise, it would be you're taking this, and you don't have to. It's okay to be honest with what you think your abilities are and what you think your limitations are. M1 Chubbs from University Heights. Yeah.
What's up, dude? You know, I was listening, and I wanted to call in and hold my hands up to Woods because no matter what kid he, no matter who it is, he's going to be a very well-rounded kid, very well-rounded individual. I listen to Woods. Don't know who he is. Don't know who you are, Woods. Got nothing but love for you, man. Thank you, man. That's cool. Appreciate it. M1 Veronica from Escondido. Hello, guys. How are you? Good. Hey, Steve. I wanted to thank you. I myself, as I've told you, I'm a birth mom, and thank you for going through this, you know, with me. It was a tough decision, but you know what? God put the right people in my life as, like, the first profile that I picked. They were exactly what I wanted, and they are doing such a fantastic job. And you know what? I thought, you know, the doctor was like, oh, yeah, he's fine, he's fine. But actually, he turned into a special needs child because he has hearing problems. You know, we didn't know that until he was two years old. But God is going to give you the people and the baby that you guys serve. And you and Jamie are going to be fantastic parents. Thank you. So I just wanted to call and thank you. Appreciate it. Thank you. There's no doubt. Listen, I mean, all you got to do is ask my son, Jake, what he thinks about Woods. Uncle Woods. Yeah. Don't know if it's true, but we'll tell you what they're conjecturing, and she actually responds to it. The Mikey Show is myself, Woodsy, Lauren, Sienna, and Jay. Eskimo Blue Waters will be in here in a minute. She's a local musician. Her real name is Judy Douche. I think she said it was Douche. She says it's pronounced Douche. She's wrong. But it sure looks, you know, when you read the spelling of it. Douche, D-O-U-C-H-E. C-H-E. I didn't see any accent mark either. I didn't either, but she says it's pronounced douche. I guess I'd call myself douche if my name was spelled douche. Yeah, exactly. She really, really, you know, you would think that this is a woman in her mid-20s or something, you know, the way that she's trying to get going in show business. But as we learned from Sienna, she's actually about 30. Two years old. Yeah. But anyway, we'll be talking to Eskimo Blue Waters. She's in a mood. She's in a real mood. By the way, I just saw her. My kid had to go dry his eyes in the bathroom. I just ran into her. Yeah. She is in a mood. So we're going to be talking to her in just a little bit. You're also going to hear about the woman that tried to rob the drive-thru attendant with underwear on her head. Woodsy and I went out to Comic Con on Saturday. Home away from home.
The wrongs of people. It was scary how much we actually fit in, though. That's the funny part of how much I actually enjoyed myself. When you enter Comic-Con, they give you a giant oversized bag. And when I say giant oversized bag, I mean that this bag is the size of like a poster. It hung to Mikey's feet. Around his weight. Yeah, hung to Woodsy's knees. Hung to my feet. Dragging behind him. Woodsy had no problem. They gave him this bag, and Woodsy had no problem putting it on immediately. I was a little embarrassed, but I'm like, went and home. Did you guys buy anything while you were there? No. Because they have some funny t-shirts and stuff. Yeah. We bought a nasty burger. A terrible hamburger. We met these. Two girls while we were in there. One was green, green hair, green face, green skin, green. Green. The other was a nurse. But she looked to me like she was a zombie or dead or something, which apparently she wasn't, which you'll see upsets her. Oh, dear. Because I didn't know. I didn't know. I also didn't hear this, I'll tell you, so that when you listen to this clip, it'll make sense to you.
I didn't hear her say they were from Batman. I didn't. Oh, is she Poison Ivy? Yes. Yep. That's what I thought. Oh, my goodness. Oh, my gosh. Hey, it's Mikey from The Mikey Show and my boy Woods. Hi. And from FM 94.9 here. What's your Ivy? I'm Poison. Poison, I'm sorry. Poison. And you are? Harley Quinn. Harley Quinn. In character. In character. Of course. Character. Awesome. And what are you guys, like, from? We're from... Black man. Arkham Asylum, we escaped today. I didn't. You didn't process that. Didn't process it. And I'll tell you why, in Mike's defense, why he didn't process it. Because the one in green was rubbing her finger with her long nail along his beard. No. Yes, she was. It's the creepiest thing. It was the creepiest thing. I think you can hear his uncomfortable audio. Oh, my gosh. She's doing it the whole time. The whole time. It was so. For the first. 30 seconds she was doing this. Just rubbing her finger along his beard. This big green press on him. She was obviously, guys, trying to give him poison ivy. You escaped from the asylum, and here you are at Comic-Con. Now, forgive me, because I don't know everything. I'm going to ask. What planet? Earth.
Don't you know about Batman? Idiots. Gotham City, Mike. Try Earth, she says. Jeez. And the look in her face was, you're an idiot. It was disgust. I mean, for someone to ask such a stupid question at Comic-Con, it's like, get out of here. Yeah, that's the stupidest. You hack. You moron. You novice. Yeah, you village idiot. Mike, I'm disappointed in you. I know it. Plants, really, not planets. But you're green. Yeah, she's really from the planet Earth. She's from Earth, but she's green. Consider me Mother Nature. Toxic waste dump. Toxic waste dump. She looked like a real pretty model-like lady under all the green, you know? From a toxic waste dump. You're so beautiful, and you're toxic. I am. That's her. Creepy. That's her touching his face. I am. For yourself, buddy. Listen to me laugh. Oh, my God. Yeah. Oh, yeah. You can, like, give me poison ivy. I can. Oh, my God. She is. She's giving me poison ivy. Clap. I got my shot. Oh, wow. Oh, wow. We can play. Do you have any questions for poison ivy? Oh, my God. She's a really beautiful girl. And she's. Yeah. Now, at this point, the other one noticed that I haven't acknowledged that she's beautiful. I'm only saying that one of them was beautiful. You are a monster. You are. Yeah.
Yeah, really beautiful girls. What am I, chopped liver? No, but you're... What am I, chopped liver? Why did she say it in Katharine Hepburn voice? Yeah, what am I, chopped liver? I would have said the same thing. Like the dead. You're the dead, right? Next mistake. Oh, huge mistake. Next mistake. No, not the dead. Nope, she sure isn't. No, you're not the dead. The dead. No, not dad. Dead? No, not dead. She's a clown. You're a clown. You're a clown. You know what? I'm the Joker's girlfriend, and when he finds out what you've been saying about me, he's going to kill you. Oh, yeah. Oh, my gosh. L.O.B. just looked at me. L.O.B. just looked at me and was like, oh, wow. Oh, yeah. Oh. This was, we were right next to them. She's going to slit yourself. Why did you not have a video camera on your face? Because at that moment, I'm sure you were terrified. Next year is all I have to say is going to be epic. I've got a year to plan it. It's going to be ridiculous. You should be Chewbacca. I'm going to be something. I'm going to be Chewbacca. You're dead. You are dead. This is the greatest thing I've ever seen in my life. Bad life if this is the best.
I do have a sad life because this is the best. Hey, Mike, calm down, you dork. Yeah, you're the dork. You're the dork. I am. You're the dork. No doubt about it. You guys are amazing. Thank you, guys. You're beautiful and really awesome and toxic and awesome. Thank you. Thank you. Sure. Bye. That's the Joker's girlfriend, pal. I'd be looking over your shoulder if I were you. Yeah. Guaranteed when they walked away, they said to each other, what a bunch of idiots. Morons. Couple of losers. Dork. What nerds. 570-1949. Go ahead. I was just going to say that I go, Mike, it feels pretty good walking around here knowing that I can beat up everybody. Stop. They have samurai swords. M1 Blaze from Hillcrest. Hey, Mikey, this is the Free Hugs guy. Free Hugs! There he is! I want one. We played your audio earlier. You had a sign that said Free Hugs at Comic-Con. That's right. So what's going on, Blaze? You asked about why I missed Comic-Con for those four years. I was out of town. You're out of town. Thank goodness. Emma Night's Cream is super jealous that I met you and she hasn't yet. Not happy!
Oh, she should have been there. She was in a panel. Oh, she's in a panel. Those panels will get you. They will. They'll get you every time. We'll suck you right in. Tell her we'll meet her next time. Oh, wow. What is she into? What is she into? She's into comics. She was there for the True Blood. Almost everything there. All right. Blaze, tell Night Scream we love her, and we got to run. Okay, not a problem. Thanks for the hugs, pal. Thank you for the hug. Thank you. I asked Jay if he would get M1 Misty on the line because she had written us an email. And I think that this is something that people might be able to relate to. Even me, maybe. Misty, are you there? Tell everybody what you wrote us about. Well, my husband and I are...
So I'm in a little bit of a disagreement right now. We have two children. One's nine, our daughter's nine, and our son is 11. And they had expressed interest in doing things over the summer that, when we talked about it, you know, my son wanted to do a soccer camp. He's very interested in soccer. And my daughter wanted to take swimming lessons, and she wanted to enroll in this. It's like a kid's art program for the summer, and there's got to be pottery and stuff. So it was mentioned a passing, and he seemed okay with it. And then the bills started coming in, and he hit the roof. Yeah, you know why? Because these things are real expensive. Camps, oh, yeah. Well, they are, but, you know, I mean, I don't know if he didn't ask about the price. You know, and I didn't want, I was very happy that my kids didn't want to sit around watching TV all summer. You know, we've always talked about how we want well-rounded children. Misty, in defense of your husband, I have to say that in your email, you listed off quite a few activities slash camps slash stuff slash money slash dollar signs slash checkbook.
slash bank accounts, slash credit cards. Slash in the red. Slash in the red. They're doing a few camps each this summer. She listed them and it was a lot of stuff. And she was writing kind of to see, am I crazy because I'm like a good mom and my husband is complaining about me being a good mom. And I was like, holy cow, like reading them going. Holy cow. Holy cow. Holy cow. Holy cow. Holy cow. And I know just from us, you know, Jake has music and this and trumpet and baritone and, you know, like drums, drums. And he's got accordion class and he's got, you know, like there's always classes. They add up, you know, and, and, and so she's Misty's doing the whole, well, I'm a good mom, right? And I'm like, well, you're not a bad mom, that's for sure. My mom was just like you, Misty. I was in a million camps, back to back, all summer. Yeah, you know what camp I was in? It was called playing the kitchen camp with Tupperware. Watch movies. Yeah, you know, like my friends were getting a brand new, you know, storm trooper model thing. Yeah, I was playing with spoons and Tupperware on the floor of the kitchen. That was my toys. Drum lessons. Played baseball every day, all summer.
Yeah. I went to the swim club. And swimming. Yeah, I mean, they think about their school year and they don't have the time to do these things because, you know, they've got the homework and they've got the extracurricular activities. So when they express interest in something that I think is going to, you know, help them be more well-rounded later in life. Maybe you glue some popsicle sticks on some paper. Maybe you glue some popsicle sticks on some paper. Do you work, Misty? I work part-time. Okay. So, I mean, they would have to go to, they would have to go to like a daycare or babysitter or something, right? Otherwise. No, I mean, I schedule, I kind of, I schedule my hours. I do some part-time work at our church. So I schedule some, my hours around their activities. So I'm, you know, I can drop them off and pick them up. So your husband's probably like, oh, really? I'm spending all this extra money when you could be home playing with them yourself.
Yeah, making some popsicle sticks on some paper. Why don't you do popsicle sticks? Making some hand turkeys. Yeah, maybe. How about some hand turkeys this summer, babe? That's about, I don't know, like maybe $800 a week cheaper than the 45 different classes. Is there anybody listening right now? Oh, I said 45. Listen. 43. 43. Is there anybody listening with a take on that? 570-1949. Is it completely wasteful? Wasteful to spend the money on that. No. Mike, it's not wasteful. I don't think it's wasteful. It can't be wasteful. Maybe make a hand turkey. Stop it. You can't indulge. Your kids will hate you. You can't indulge a kid's every whim. You just can't. That's what I was going to ask her. Are the kids seeing a flyer and being like, I want to do this? And they get to do whatever they want. I want to be in yacht camp, Mom. What about yacht camp? I almost went to yacht camp. I didn't let them do everything they wanted to. Trust me. That's a small portion of what they were asking. One of them wanted to go to the moon. I didn't let them do that. They didn't get to go to the moon. They wanted to go to Angelina Jolie camp. I didn't let them. I almost went to sailing camp.
Holy cow. When I lived in Connecticut, we went to Mystic Seaport. Somebody's found something. We went to Mystic Seaport in Connecticut and they had this camp and they would take you out for like two weeks. You learn how to sail. And I was like, dude, I'm in. Dad, can I do it? Yeah, why not? Let's put some boat shoes on. So my dad's like, that'd be pretty cool. Spend the summer on the water. Yeah, maybe tie a little sweater around his neck. He asked how much it was. $4,500. My dad goes, yeah, never mind. You're going to baseball camp. That would have been me. I wasn't in one. Yeah, this would have been Woods coming home singing this. Air blowing in the wind. Yacht rock. Slow motion 12-year-old Woods on a yacht with little loafers. Little loafers. Shorts. They have beautiful hair. I would have loved it. But yeah, $4,500, my dad's like, absolutely not, man. Camps are important, though. I mean, kids are going to be bored, and it's good for mom to just put them off camp a couple times. Camps are important. Yes. You know what is important? Dentistry is important. Stop it. Camps are important. You learn a lot at camps.
What about the neighborhood kids? Yeah, you know what you learn? You learn how to French. I went to diamond polishing camp. It was no big deal. I think that's what happens at camp. Am I wrong about that? That's not true. Jasper just finished up Junior Lifeguard. He did two things in a row. Junior Lifeguard is great. He Frenched somebody. Guaranteed. He learned about rips and the currents. Yeah. Full on swimming out around a lifeguard in the water. How to swim in the water when there's a rip. I mean, I don't have a problem with camp. I think you should get to do one a summer. That's what I would let my kids do. Pick one. Pick one. Pick one that's like three days. I did Camp Stevens and Julian every year when I was little. And they teach you about the wilderness and cooking and the things you can eat outside. Yeah, how'd that work out for you? Yeah, you camp. We're real outdoors. I can't see you. Is that Eddie Bauer next to you? Is that Paul Bunyan sitting over there with an ax in her hand? Excuse me. Just because I don't do it doesn't mean I don't know how. Oh, my God. I could do something. I've never been to a camp in my life. Ever? Not once. Fat camp? But I'll tell you, I went to baseball camp between freshman and sophomore year. Had a good freshman year. Had a great sophomore year, man. I learned more baseball than I'd ever known. So great. M1 Jeff from Carlsbad has a very, very interesting question that may cause controversy. Are you there, Jeff? Yeah. What's your question?
Well, you know, when I was a kid, I had a bike. You know, man, I used to ride my bike and my mom and dad didn't sign me up for like 400 camps. It's different now. I have two little girls now and they have so much activity. It's ridiculous. Well, his question was, why do kids have to be so active all the time? Oh, my gosh. I had a bike. I mean, why do we have to cart him around every little thing and keep up with the Joneses and what the other kids are doing? I think that Jeff may have just hit on something giant. Could it be, Misty, I don't know. I'm just throwing this. Misty, let me throw it out there. But could it be that we live in a culture now where this chick's driving this SUV and this chick's got that bag and this chick's kids are wearing that brand and they're going to this camp. And if I don't want to look like a complete loser mom, I got to send my kid to camp. A cheapskate. No. No? I think so. No. I think it has something to do with it. Okay, if your kid doesn't want to go to the camp, a lot of the kids don't want to go to camp. A lot of kids just want to sit around the house because they're used to waking up and going to school. Why not? Times have changed. When we were kids, we could jump on a bike. When we were kids and you could jump on a bike and you could go cruise down the street, go play in the field with the trees or down by the creek. Yeah.
Now, your kids go out and sometimes you want, are they going to come back? I mean, it scares the heck. We watched Jasper when he runs down the street to play at a friend's house. We watched him the whole way. I mean, it's... Yeah. Maybe you might go ship him, Jay. It's a whole other... No, I mean, but that's so true. And even, I mean, when I was young, you could just hop on a bike. Now, it's so scary. Like, when do you let your kids go out on their own? That's what we're trying to always figure out. You know, it's like, when can you let them go? Yeah, I used to be gone for hours. And then your parents would, like one of the parents in the neighborhood would just yell her kids' names repeatedly until the kids came home. That was me. My parents, Jay, come on. Yeah, and then once that person went home, you're like, okay, I've only got a few more minutes before I got to be home. We'd be gone. For hours at a time. Oh, yeah. M1 Benjamin from University City. Hi. Hi. Well, my daughter's nine years old, and I first started off hating the idea of having her in these karate classes because they're very, very, very expensive. But I'm listening to what you guys are talking about. How much? How much? How much? How much? You're going to be that guy, Mike. I'm going to be an inappropriate money guy. I'm going to be an inappropriate money guy. How much are they? $185 a month.
Oh, my gosh. That's more than yoga. But, you know, listen to the story this previous caller was talking about. Me, too. I used to ride her on my bike all the time by myself. Ride her up to 7-Eleven, ride back, no problem. We can't have her doing that now. I know. But when she's a black belt. There you go. You just sold me, by the way. You'll be a little bit more confident. The whole safety thing. I want her to have the kind of freedom I had when I was a kid. Sold. And not be afraid. And I want her to be out in the world not being afraid. So I'm coming around on this. It's been two years. Hey, Benjamin, you just got me. You changed my mind right now. All of our kids are now going to be signed up for martial arts. Money well spent. There is that mental focus and all the other good stuff they push, but really the benefit is the peace of mind for me. And Jessica, looking at her, looking out and knowing, you know, she's not going to, if she gets assaulted, she has a... reasonably good chance to get away. Kick the guy's butt, I hope. I like that. Jenna, you hear that? You're going to karate camp. Yeah. Hey, listen. You never know, man. You invest that money, your kid can be out there on that boat like woods, learn how to set up a rig. That's right. Drinking white wine. Yeah, yeah. Don't you want your kid to know how to select the proper white?
Don't you? Don't you want your kid to know how to cut brie properly? I'll never forget M1 Hawk, my dad's face, when that guy told him how much that kid wants. Hey, M1 Hawk, how do you expect your son to know how to take a loaf of French bread with his hands and tear off the perfect artisan-sized piece for cheeses and wine? Yeah. Thank you for the call, Misty. Thank you, guys. Good luck to your husband. Stay strong, Misty. Yeah, stay strong with all 80 of those. I guess your husband needs to get a second job. Yeah, he's getting a part-time job to support. Waiting tables. They're life lessons the kids are learning at each camp. Are they? Yes. Are they? Oh, my God. I just looked out the window, and EBW looked in here at me. Oh, no. Glaring eyes. Like tapping the watch.

You guys may have heard that the BP CEO, Tony Hayward, may be stepping down today. And by stepping down, he may be getting fired. We're not really sure, but there's supposed to be some meetings going on today, and we will find out. The BP Managing Director, Bob Dudley, is most likely the one that's going to be replacing him. Also, happy 100th anniversary to the Boy Scouts. Oh, wow. Yeah, they're celebrating their 100th anniversary. I was a Cub Scout. Yeah, prevented me from getting a really hot girl because she thought I was in the Boy Scouts, and I wasn't. Why did she think that? I don't know. Because you were wearing a Boy Scout uniform. There's nothing wrong about being a Boy Scout. It's a really good thing. And they're celebrating with a national jamboree in Virginia. Starts today. More than 46,000 Boy Scouts from around the nation are going to be there. Maybe they don't call it a jamboree. I did it. I loved it. All right. So good. Jay's got a Boy Scout outfit on right now. Yes, he does. What's going on in sports, Woodsy? Chargers camp opens today with select veterans and rookies. Hopefully Ryan Matthews gets signed and gets into camp as soon as possible. And the Padres swept the Pirates this weekend. They return home to take on those nasty Dodgers. Got to go get them this week, boys. You know what we were talking about when I turned the mics on? Yes, let's discuss. Let's discuss, pal. We went to the races on Friday, the Del Mar racetrack.
The joke all night was how I was very chatty with some cougars that were sitting behind us. That's the word on the street. And you're wearing a Puma shirt today, I think. As a nod to the cougars. Mike comes walking in looking sharp at the races. He has a blazer on. And there's these women sitting directly behind us. And you had ordered some fried green beans with wasabi dipping sauce. That's weird. I know. Most people get nachos. And apparently, I didn't hear any of this, but apparently these cougars were like, what is that? Excuse me, excuse me. Ask about what you're eating. Yeah. And so that's what happened. They go, excuse me, excuse me. And I turn around and they said, what is that that you ordered? And I said, it's green beans that are fried. You got to try this. They're good. They're delicious. They're really good. And so I shared it with them and I go, no, no, no, no. You told them what it is and then you were like.
feeding them. Then you were feeding them. I wasn't feeding them. They had their heads kick back. You were dipping it in their form and feeding it into their mouths. I'm crazy. Look like a Roman orgy. You let them put their filthy hands on your food. Yeah, I did. Here, look. Look at the pimp, dude. It looks like Scorsese, man. He just showed a picture of himself. I just showed her. Real proud of that. I know. He's like, look at this side profile shot. Look at the look that went over the cougars. Rebecca took that picture of me and I went, oh man, I don't ever get to see myself in a suit. Yeah, you looked dapper. The guy looked sharp. I wasn't flirting with cougars. I wasn't flirting with cougars. 100%. I wasn't. 100%. Your wife was right there and she looked at me at one point and was like, you see this? Yeah. See my husband? I'm not attracted to cougars. And I said to Rebecca, I go, hey, guy wears a blazer. He thinks he's George Clooney. Mister, I'm too shy to talk to anyone ever. I've never seen Mike like that before. He was like, oh, here, you've got to try this. Guys, what's the option? What's the option if they go, if they go, excuse me, what is that? Am I supposed to go?
Find out for yourself. You didn't tell them, but you don't have to feed them. I didn't feed them. You have to feed them and then fan them off and kiss their feet. I know. He didn't feed them, but he was like, you need to know seriously. Should I not do that? Don't let strangers touch your food. It's disgusting. It was perfect, Mikey. You did the right thing. I would not let strangers touch my finger food. You did the right thing. It was just funny knowing Mikey and how normally he would never turn around and talk to these cougars. It would be me. It would be one. Yeah, he had no choice. And listen, they made it very obvious that they wanted to make mad, passionate love to Woods the rest of the time we were there. Because I'm telling you, they chatted that guy up. Way to deflect it. I'm not kidding. It's the truth. They chatted it. Every time he walked by, they were like, hello, dear. Who are you taking in the fifth? True. It was true. I didn't see Woods feeding them food. That's right. You know who doesn't get a dirty look for his wife? The one whose wife is busy placing $500 bets down there on every single race. Yeah, exactly. Mrs. Woods. That's right. Mrs. Woods won every time. She won every time. That's what happens when you bet on every horse to do something to win places or shows. She's so funny. Tonight's 8 o'clock album is Tokyo Police Club Champ. The name of the album is Champ. So that's tonight. Again, tonight's 8 o'clock album. We do this all the time.
And it's Tokyo Police Club. Thank you very much. Let's see. You're a childhood. If you could have seen him. Play the gong. Play the gong. We should just get a real gong in here. I know. I thought that was. I love it. Very relaxing. Woods, go get her. Oh, my gosh. Eskimo Blue Waters is outside the door. Why are you so uptight? Oh, you're so uptight. She's in a mood. So uptight. You guys done with the yuck yucks in here or what? Yeah, I mean, we had you wait one break. A couple breaks. Break and a half. Is that what it was? I've been here since three and you know that. You've been here since three? Yeah. Not all of us come strolling in at our leash. At our leash.
Why were you here so early? Because I'm a professional, Sienna. Professional. What are you professional at? You do a lot of things, Eskimo. Pick a card, any card. Yeah, she's trying to be, I mean, would your business card say entertainer? Yep, exactly. Entertainer. Entertainer extraordinaire is exactly what it says. She doesn't own a guitar. When she plays gigs, she'll borrow one. You made that up. That's the true statement, though. You have a guitar case, but you keep your dummy in it. Well, I keep her in it because I'm getting my guitar re-strung. It's been months. Speaking of her business cards, have you seen them? Uh-uh. You know the old Mead notebook? Yeah. That you rip out. It's got all the little crinklies down the side. Yeah. She actually wrote out her business card, and she's cut like 30 of them. No, that's the front style. The one I got still has the crinklies on it. That's the card and the font style. Each one is an original. You got it like that? Are you too stupid to read? Oh, that's fantastic. I'm an artiste. You're an artiste. Yeah. Very poor artiste. Well, allegedly. Not all of us are made of money. It's true. Eskimo Blue Waters has tried singing. Yodeling. Yodeling. Opera.
Opera? Ropra. Ropra, because it's rock opera. She read my palm one time, told me I looked like I would be having a baby soon. Babies in Sienna's future, I'm telling her. Stand-up comedy? Yeah. Didn't go so well. Are you... What are you... playing music this weekend or what are you doing? What's your new thing? No, I'm trying to do that castration therapy that you guys did last week. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. That wasn't castration therapy. What is it? Cessation therapy. Cessation therapy. That's what I said. Nope, you didn't. Carnation therapy. You said a different thing. Sensation. Nope, it's not sensation. Cessation. Cessation, yeah. Hypnotism. Right, and Woods tried some bit. And everyone went to that lady's website and stuff, so I'm thinking I can do that. You're going to be a hypnotist? A hypnotist. Yeah, I think I have the power to do that. I've always been sort of like a clairvoyant. Sort of? In a way. Sort of a clairvoyant? I feel like I'm pretty in tune with people. Like, I've figured out.
What all of you guys need to be hypnotized for. What do I need to be hypnotized for? Mikey, you need to stop eating something. He is. He's on a diet. He's on a diet. Wait. You figured that out. Is he? Is that what you just said? Yeah. You figured that out through your power. I know your needs more than you do. Okay. This is going to make you all better people. All right. Jay. I'm going to stop you from having so much gas. That would be huge. Or maybe just teach you when and where to use it. Gross. A restroom would be probably. Yeah, exactly. You could teach him that and hypnotize him with it. For Woods, I'm going to get him to stop smoking. I just did. I already did. That's what he just did. I am very good. I work quickly. No, you didn't do it. You didn't do it. I did it in the hallway in the commercial break. I haven't smoked in four days. Yeah. Four days. That's amazing. I do maintenance. What about Sienna? Yeah. Sienna, I'm going to hypnotize her so that she thinks she's from Arizona. Arizona? Just for no reason? She doesn't like zonies. That's true. That's true.
I'm going to change all that. Yeah, a teacher, you know, like to have tolerance for zonies. I'm from one place and one place. LJ, you know that. We'll see about that once I start using my old watch here. That's a Casio. That's a Casio watch. That's right. What you want is you want a stopwatch. A gold. A gold. Pocket watch. What am I, Sienna? I don't have gold watches just playing around. Why didn't you call me? I could have brought you some. You need a pendulum. You won't give me your number, Sienna. She's dangling a Casio. Yeah. You need a pendulum or a pocket watch so that the person that you're hypnotizing can watch it swing back and forth. That's a rubber black Casio that you bought at Long's Drugstore. But you know what? Speaking of stopwatch, I'm thinking that part of the reason that this isn't going to work is I never have enough time here because Jay always tells me to keep it quick. He's Mr. Stopwatch over there. Yeah, he is. Like a new superhero at Comic-Con. Mr. Stopwatch. What's up, Mr. Stopwatch? Your special powers.
tell me to hurry up? Yeah, they do, actually. You take a little bit of time sometimes, you know, Eskimo? Does anyone want to volunteer? Yeah, that's not going to work. You're not going to hypnotize anybody with a Casio, but you could try. You could try, yeah. Should I try with you, Mike? Yeah. Okay. What do I have to do? Just watch this thing, I think. You don't even know. No, but I heard her on the radio. I know. Well, then you got to do it properly. Otherwise, I'll try it. I'll watch the VHS. Okay, ready? We need, like, some music. Yeah, let's hear it. Let me give you some music. Relax your mind, Mike. You're getting really tired. You're thinking, food is gross. I don't even like truffle fries. Are you really going to do this? I don't even like truffle fries. You got to let your mind go, Mike. You really need to get in the spirit of this thing. I believe she's being passive aggressive. I'm looking into her face right now. Watch or watch try. Maybe it will work. If this works, I'm going to start hypnotizing people into giving me gigs. I want to try it out on you, man. Go ahead. Okay. You don't even like meat. You're such a jerk. You're such a jerk. If you're not going to take this seriously. I'm not. You want to try somebody else? Okay, Woods. Watch the Casio, bro. Okay, I'm watching. I want you to imagine all the cigarettes you smoked in your life.
That's exactly what he already said. Woman said word for word. Word for word. What Sarah, you're my smoking cessation. You're just repeating what she said. Well, hey, if it ain't broke. Yeah. But I can't really practice this yet because I need to get some office space so I can do this in a more controlled environment. Is this the wrong environment? Yeah, you guys are like yucking it up, not taking it seriously. I'm looking at some places in Hamul right now. Oh my gosh. We'll see what happens. Some office space in Hamul? I mean, if I do get my hypnotism license and I get bonded and everything. Who knows, Mike? If you decide to take this seriously, then... Maybe you can do an endorsement for me. Really? It depends on what you tell me. Hey, this is Mikey for Eskimo Blue Waters Hypnotism. Carnation Therapy. Carnation Therapy. Out in Hamul. The next time you're out in Hamul, stop by and get hypnotized. And I'll say something along the lines of, you're getting very tired. Where's the harp music? Oh, sorry. Let me give you some harp music again. I'm very sleepy. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Give me a second. Here we go. Harp music.
Do your bit again, Mikey. Hey, this is Mikey from FM 94.9 for Eskimo Blue Waters. Sensation therapy. Carnation. Carnation therapy up in Hamul. Hey, listen, next time you're there, stop by. Let her hypnotize you. She'll get you to stop looking at food and meat. She did for me. You're cutting in on my endorsement. You just cut in on my endorsement? So if you don't want to eat meat or look at food, or be fat, just call up Eskimo Blue Waters Carnation Therapy up in Hamul. Thanks. That's a great... Oh, it wasn't... It's gorgeous. I wasn't done. All right, go ahead. You're getting very tired. I'm tired of being a schmuck. This is ridiculous. Come into my carnation therapy. And I'll help you out. Thanks. Signing out. You know what? Maybe she'll be good. Maybe she'll be. I've been told a very soothing voice. You haven't been good at anything else so far, so maybe this is it. If gravel is soothing, then yes, your voice is soothing. I feel like I'm getting some backhanded compliments. I think you're just getting backhanded. Hey, maybe you live with mom and dad until, you know. Maybe I live on the road in my Mustang like a woman. It's not true.
We know that isn't true. Thank you. My car is parked on asphalt, which is the road. That's true. Bye, Eskimo. Eskimo Blue Waters. Bye, guys. Think about it. Hey, Sienna, tell everybody about the woman that robbed the drive-thru with underwear on her head. Oh, yeah, the McDonald's drive-thru in Oklahoma. Police are trying to identify this woman. Pulls up to the drive-thru, underwear on her head. That was her disguise. That was her disguise she used when she grabbed money from the drive-thru. I guess she went in through the drive-thru around 3 a.m. on Tuesday, and they saw her through the camera. She somehow had a key to the register. Really? Well, the first time she drove through, there was another car that came by, so she left. And then she came back a second time with a key and opened the cash register. Here's what it would have sounded like. Can I help you or take your order or something? Yeah, you better freaking believe you can. You are done. I am robbing this place right now. Yeah, can you see me? I see you. What is that? Is that underwear on your head? It's a mask. It's a mask? Yes, it's a mask, and I'm dangerous. Is that the best you could do? Would you run out of pantyhose? Grab the next best thing? Yeah, maybe I did. Maybe you grab a thesaurus.
You're having a hard time talking. You don't understand me? Is that your Comic-Con costume? What if it is? Is that the best you could do? Yes, it actually is the best I could do. Why don't you just quit being such a comedian and hand me over the money? What's your superpower there? You give atomic wedgies? Yeah, maybe I give atomic... I'm an atomic wedgie lady. Shaking. Really? Give me your money. I'm not kidding around. I'm not giving you any money. Get out of here. This is so complicated. Wow. Listen. Couple of adults. Couple of adults. Yeah. Just trying to have a good time. Having a mature situation. Hard at work. When you're running down the list of things to stick on your head to rob a place. Panties. Don't you eliminate panties? Yeah. Oh, man. Don't use, doesn't it snap into your head and you go, well, I can't do that. Well, there's two holes for where you can see. Seems like a likely. Why not? You know? You have a big face if that is the deal. Oh, they should have done the mugshot like that. What if it was a thong? Ooh. Stupid. It was Oklahoma. Yeah, it's Oklahoma. Not everybody can be as sophisticated as the...
Geezer Bandit. Yes. That's true. Know what I'm saying? Mm-hmm. Hey, I know what we should do. I know what we have time for. I say we do a little Woods of Wisdom. Nice. Let's do it. 570-1949 if you want to ask Woods. Well, I know it. Your Woods of Wisdom. Relationship. Yeah, he can fix them. It's a drooling out. Guy stuff. You know, it could be anything guy stuff. It could be relationships. It could be clothes that you wear. It could be the girl at work. Anything you want advice about. If it's clothes that you wear, you may want to ask Alibi and I. Really? Really? Says the man who's now wearing plaid shorts. Badass plaid shorts. Who was it that made fun of him? Yeah, but the girls turned you on to her, right? Yeah, they sure did. I'm no dummy. This one says, Woodsy, I like this girl a lot, and I'm having a serious issue. I have not asked her out, but she's amazing. She has said before that she never wants to have kids, and I do.
Am I being a loser for not asking her out because of that? M1 Lind. No, not at all, Lind. Yeah. No, you know what you want. She obviously knows what she wants. Now, there was a time in my life when I was younger that I thought because of the way that I was and because I was, you know, kind of a train wreck. Right. That I thought, nah, baby kids aren't for me. But always in the back of my mind, I kind of knew that I would grow out of this stupid stuff that I was doing. And, you know. be a father one day. So, dude, if you know you want kids and you know she doesn't, pack it up and move on. I think that you're setting yourself up for disaster. If the person that you are considering has a completely polar opposite view than you do about kids, I think you might be setting yourself up. Wouldn't you then look back on it and go, oh my gosh, why didn't I do that? Yeah, it's like me. If I was single, like me dating a Red Sox fan, it's not going to happen. Dude. There'd be no way. And I'm dead serious. I'd be like, sorry, see ya. Do you want to hear the third? No way! Seriously, listen to this. This is the third one. No way! I'll read it now, though. Woods, I'm a Yankee fan like you. Would you ever seriously date a girl if she had been a Sox fan? No. I'm one albatross. Absolutely not. There's no way. It's like...
It's just, it doesn't, there's no coexistence. Why, though? There could, what if she was blazing hot? So, there's another one out there. Yeah, what if it were like Megan Fox? If she's a Red Sox fan, chances are she's not. Oh, my God. We did a story. Oh, my God. He just pretended he knocked it out of the park. I know plenty of beautiful Red Sox fans. We did a story last week about a couple in San Diego who are married and they're Charger Raider fans. That's nothing compared to Yankees Red Sox. Charger Raiders ain't Yankees Red Sox. I'm sorry. It would be really uncomfortable, wouldn't it? It is not. Yeah, I agree. Babe Ruth, dude. Probably the biggest rivalry in the world is probably Yankees-Red Sox. In the world. It is. In the sports world. In the sports world. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're not talking about Jews and Palestinians. I'm not talking about the Persians and the Spartans. Right. No, it's out of the question. Wow. You are a child. I think it makes it fun. I know. 5-7-hour, 194.9.
Well, I would have to be put in a mental institution if my wife was a Red Sox fan. What if someone was like a different political party than you? That wouldn't bother me. I don't care. It would. It wouldn't bother me at all. When you're a team. My wife is different than I am. She was George Bush all the way, and we went head-to-head about it, but it's not going to mess us up. But aren't there more fundamental issues than the team that you root for? No. I think he's right. I think Woodsy's right. If you can picture yourself sitting in your own home being miserable because your wife is rooting against the very thing that you love. That you love so much. I guess if you're that passionate of a Yankee fan. Which I am. Yeah. As you know. Woodsy, what's the most... important club in your golf bag i don't have a ton of money but i'm gonna but if i'm gonna spend money on one club which should it be and one merchant you know for me it is my sand wedge my my actually my wedges because if you have a really good wedge that you can hit and you know if you can get within 100 yards of the green your sand wedge or your pitching wedge is key dude go buy yourself a cleveland sand wedge you will not regret it i love cleveland sandwiches
Sand wedge. Sand wedge. I just wonder if this will irritate me. It's going to irritate me or no? I don't think it will. No? Yeah. Number one, travel alone. Yes. Yeah. Just travel alone. Agree. Why? Why? Find yourself when you travel alone. Here's the thing, and my wife's probably going to kill me, but there was something I always wanted to do, and now I literally can't do it. Why? Because I got married. Why can't you then? I'll tell you why. Make out with a girl? No, make out with a dude. No. I wanted to travel Europe with a buddy and backpack and do that whole bit. Yeah. Now maybe just go with your wife. Well, she won't do it the way I want to do it. She's not backpacking. We're going to have to stay in the fourth season. He wants to do it with no clothes on. I want to go pantsless. I think if you explain the importance of it. She's told me unequivocally no. Really? Yeah. She wants to go do those things with him. And the best part.
She's like, yeah, and you're not going. Yeah, it's my nightmare. Put that out of my mind. To be alone? To be backpacking across Europe with euros. What about me and you? What about me and you? Backpacking across Europe? Never. Come on. Eating strange food with red money. No. No. Come on. Money's all red. So I've always, I always wanted to do that trip with just me and one other buddy. Like Bauman, me and Bauman go do Europe together. But no, that's never going to happen. Lauren's traveled alone. Yeah. Instantly conjures up BO thoughts and trains. So stinky. Stinky. The smell of the grease that is on the trains and the tracks. Having to sleep sitting up. Oh, yeah. How about sleeping in a hostel, Mike? I've done that. I'm going to vomit. I've slept in plenty of hostel. Going to the bathroom in some weird toilet. Weird toilet. Having to wear sandals in the shower. I'll tell you what, though. It makes your toilet and your shower at home seem like the Ritz. That's right. In defense of Mike, his toilet at home. It is the Ritz. Better than the Ritz. Have you traveled alone?
Alone. I've traveled with buddies before, but that was way before I got married. Who cares? You wouldn't want to travel alone. I think that's kind of important. I would never want to travel by myself. And what does that mean, find yourself? Oh, look, there's Mike. There he is. I found him. You know what it means. What does it mean? It's a spiritual journey. What does that mean? L.O.B. found herself. No, I didn't. That's the thing. I went traveling alone, and I would absolutely recommend it to someone and whatever, but there was plenty of times where I wanted to turn to someone and go, isn't that? Oh. Wait, I'll just write that down in my journal. Really? Write that down. No, I mean, there was times where you really wish that there was someone there to share it with you. But I didn't. And I put too much emphasis on thinking I was going to find myself. You're not. Listen, what is that? It conjures up, like, in a world where one man is searching for who he is. This summer, get away and help.
Find yourself. Well, you have a lot of your own internal thoughts that you can't just, like, fill the room with chatter. You have to listen to those thoughts, you know, and you have to, like, learn how you act in odd situations when you don't have, like, a buffer zone with you. I studied abroad in Spain. Yeah, would study a lot of broads. But I think that counts as going alone, and I think that I found a lot about myself. You did. Give me an example. That I love La Jolla. And I don't ever want to leave again. I don't like traveling outside of La Jolla. I cried a lot when I first got there because I didn't know anyone. And it was hard. But what did you learn about Sienna? That I am a dependent person. See, I learned that I like a lot of alone time, but I don't want to always be alone. Really? I want my eternal travel buddy. Not me. You don't? You know what I want to travel? I don't know, like the aisles at McDonald's, maybe. I want to see the rest of the world. The Greek aisles? No, no, the McDonald's aisles. No, the aisle at McDonald's leads to the... The aisle at McDonald's. I want to see the rest of the world. I just want to see it with somebody. What else do you do? Wallow in the ache of a broken heart. Everybody needs to have a broken heart before they get married. 100%. Yeah. Why? Why? Yeah, why? Because it teaches you that you can get over things and be on your own and just to know what it's like. All right.
I'll do the work for you. If you're listening and you've never had a broken heart, you can get over it. All right, work is done. No, that's not true. I actually, because we replayed the clip of my breakup with Matt on the air the other day as a best of, and a lot of people emailed me this past week thinking that that was happening live, even though it happened two months ago. And I wrote back to somebody today and I said, You know, she had said, you know, I believe everything happens for a reason. I said it didn't seem like it at the time, but I went through a breakup a couple of years ago where I had this heartache that was like. I talked to your wife, Rebecca, about it. It takes the wind out from underneath you, and it, like, debilitates you. And after going through that heartache and going through it again, I was like, oh, I know that I'm going to get through this. Yeah, because I have to know that you'll be okay. I got through one, and when I thought that, like, my life was going to be over because... I'm glad. Okay, all right, then. I'm glad that this was said. If there's anybody listening right now that has never been through that before...
Speaking from someone that has been through it, I want to let you know that you may feel like committing suicide, and I'm not joking. No. You may feel like committing suicide because you're so hopeless and desperate. The pain of heartache is the worst. I'm going to tell you, you can get through it. You can. Everyone does. And you may be saying to yourself, because you may be going through it right now, and you may say, but you don't know what this particular thing. We know. I've said that to my little sister who's in high school, you know, going through a breakup. And it's like, you just, it's her first love, you know? And she's like, no one's ever going to be like that again. No, it's never. And I'm like, yes, it will. Not only that, here, this will really blow her mind. Because she'll never be able to wrap her head around this. It's going to be better. I know. Well, yeah, and it's... You can't wrap your mind around that. Because you learn something from each... I look back on why I was so upset about that. And I'm like, what was wrong with me? And I was with the wrong guy like years ago, you know, and I thought that that was going to be the person I was going to be with forever. And we weren't right for each other. And I came, I did all these, like I started surfing. I wouldn't have done that in the relationship I was in. I traveled up by myself. I wouldn't have done that. And I felt so much better equipped the second time around to be like, hey, I can handle things. I can do this. What else, Sienna? Another thing all single people must do before they get married, don't come home all night.
Have one of those nights out where you just... Totally against it. Don't... Come on. Why do you need that? Have a night. You've had them? You need that, really? Yeah. You don't need that. You need it. No, I shouldn't have. I wish I hadn't. Have a night where you just don't come home that night? Yeah, you can blow it out with your boys. Sounds healthy. I mean, it doesn't mean... Ain't nothing good happening at the ATM at four in the morning. Sometimes it could be. Lauren just said another one. Have a real adventure. Learn to surf. Learn to fly a plane. Learn to do something you've always wanted to do on your own. Mike, why do you not like that? No, no, no. I'm not being cynical. I think that's great. Of course. Of course you should learn to be a pilot. But some of these things. Something that you want. Some of these things you can still do when you're with somebody. I mean, you just have to discuss with the person like, hey, if this means a lot to me. All right. I'm going to go do it. Okay. Have a white castle out of the vending machine. You know, live a little bit. Mikey. Mikey. That was below. Below the belt. He likes those burgers. He likes white castles out of the vending machine. I just don't like this article because I've had this discussion recently. It makes it seem like getting married is walking the plank and being like, that's a thing. In a lot of ways, though, it's not walking the plank, but in a lot of ways, it is. It's not walking the plank, but it's. It's hard to do things on your own.
foolish things behind you. You put it behind you and you grow up. And a lot of this stuff is tomfoolery. It is very, let me tell you. Tomfoolery. What is that? It's very different. It's very different from being boyfriend and girlfriend. Well, I know. And every decision you make is now as a unit. And with somebody else in mind, you can't, there's no such thing as selfish decisions when you're married. I know that. I said to my wife the other day, babe, can you please not, can you please, when you use the mirror. Can you please turn it around? One side is magnified eight times. Oh, I don't want to see that. And when I walk up to it, it frightens me quite frankly. It's scary. Quite frankly, it frightens me. You can see into the depths of hell in my pores. The abyss.
Why is that even available? For vain women, dude. Or maybe vain men. Or guys like me that want to pick nose hairs. Pluck eyelashes. Nothing good comes out of looking in that mirror. First of all, this was the mirror that she was angry that I put in that she uses. She loves. She said, really? She goes, really? Want me to make sure I turn that thing around? Close the closet door while I'm at it. Dead man. And I said, yeah, yeah, babe. You know, all I'm asking is that, you know, when you venture into my territory as a foreigner, in my territory, in my land, as a nomad, when you come into my land without a passport, perhaps as a visitor, you, and she goes, no, no, no, we are one.
She said, when you stop hitting on cougars at the racetrack, I'll flip your mirror around. Green bean. Green bean. Green bean. Mikey's Band-Aid and green bean today. Be careful what you do. Anything you do, you're going to pick up a nickname. Easy green beans. Easy green beans. Feeding green beans to cougars at the races. I wasn't feeding them. With your Band-Aid on your ear. Wasabi sauce flying everywhere. Oh, no, make sure you dip it in the wasabi. Giving wasabi massages. She put the wasabi between her breasts and we were dipping the green beans in there. I heard that Mike was giving like a Shiatsu massage with the wasabi. Or whatever it's called. What else should we do before we get married? Learn how to take care of yourself. Oh, my gosh. Yeah, Green Dean, you're going to want to do stuff like that. There's not always going to be someone there to dip your wasabi sauce for you. Of course you should learn to take care of yourself. But wait, why did I get married then? I will not take care of you. She refuses. Refuse. You take care of yourself, you adult. Guy's got a dangling arm from one strand. She's like, not my problem. I'm going jogging. You know how to drive. I'm going jogging. That's not true. I'm always like, poor me. You are? I don't buy it. I don't buy that at all. I don't buy it.
You say poor baby? Yeah. Poor baby. Really? If someone's genuinely in pain and not just trying to, like... Be a pain in the butt. Be lazy. Doesn't that make you almost, doesn't that make you almost want to be in pain just to hear Lauren say, oh my gosh, poor baby. Poor baby. I give the lip out like, really? I mean, I stabbed myself real quick. Yeah. No, I do believe it. I mean, if you're like in physical pain. Yeah, if someone's actually in pain about something. If they're just being like, I don't want to make myself a sandwich. I'm like, yeah, your leg's broken. Yeah. Is there any more? Yeah. Things you should do before you get married. Buy something impractical just because you love it. iPad maybe? New iPhone 4. Put me on spit. Roast me up. It is a Mikey roast. Maybe some new scepters. Just be impulsive. Buy a scepter. Without busting for it. Just buy a golden throne while you still can. Make sure at some point in your life...
You're single for at least three months. Completely single. No attachments whatsoever. Just to be on your own. It's called 90 Day Slay Fest is what that's called. Everyone needs to have one of those. No, she's saying single. You don't have any contact. Just Slay Fest. Listen. There's no ties. No, I don't think that means celibacy. I think it's just that you don't have a go-to person. That you don't have a go-to person. Yeah, I think you're just, you're on your own. There's no that person that you call, you know. Solitary. I was always a guy that had to have someone. Me too. Really? Yeah, I've always had to have someone. Yeah, me too. Oh, man. Oh, please. Johnny Independent over there. Hey, I traveled lower. I did adventurous things. I've bought impulsive purchases. Really? Into the wild? Is that right? You're sitting there out in Alaska living in a bus out in Alaska. I'm talking about the Liz. Hunting for food. I will say I'm living like I've lived on my own before and I've gone on trips. It does make you very independent. You are. I mean, she has. Yeah, you're independent. I couldn't do half the stuff she's done. She's too independent. She needs, I want her to, I want her to need. Well, I did. Once I lived with a guy, all of a sudden I was like, I don't know what to do.
Yeah, that's me. That's me too. I like, I've always had to have somebody. If I didn't, I was so lonely. Yeah. If I try to put something together, that happened over the weekend. I got a vibrating chair for a baby. Stop it. It's a baby chair. Lifesaver. And I tried to open the box and I was like, babe, I can't even open the box. And he had to do it. Really? It's really pathetic. Except in my house, that's reverse. I know. That's me. I'm like, I can't put this desk together. That's how I am. Emma and Chris from Oceanside. Are you there, Chris? I'm here. What's up, man? What's going on? Hey, no, I just wanted to talk to you guys. You guys mentioned really quick that about the, you know, about feeling that suicidal tendencies when you go through a heartache and stuff. Yeah. And personally, myself, I've never gone through anything like that. Maybe it's because, like I was saying, I'm maybe emotionally immature. I feel like I'm very mature with my emotions, though. How old are you? How old are you? I'm 27. Listen, maybe you're wired that way. I was wired like a wuss. Me too, like a giant wuss. I'm wired like a giant wuss. But I'm all woman. I got cheated on. I thought I was going to die.
Well, that's happened to me, but the thing about it is that... You said it hasn't. You just said it has not. No, no, no. It has. He just was never that depressed where he actually felt suicidal. Oh, dude, I wanted to jump off the ledge, man. Okay, so Chris, you're saying you have felt that way. No, I have not felt that way. That's what I thought. He's been in heartache. He's experienced heartache. But he's never experienced it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I've gone through girlfriends, and I've had a girlfriend in particular that I was with a long time. She cheated on me. And, you know, nothing really happened. Lucky you. Listen, you're a he-man. No, that's not what I'm trying to say. What I'm trying to say is that I was so focused on finishing school and my career that that became secondary. And now that I'm a little bit more mature and older and I'm done with that stuff and I've started my career, now I can look back and say, Or now I can look into the future and really think about a family, really think about something solid. Yeah, that's true. And I know that I've gone through some heartache, not per se like... Yeah, but there's a feeling that, I mean, if you haven't felt it, you will. Because it's a feeling that you can't describe when someone breaks your heart. Yeah, Chris, only thing I can think is that that girl that you were with, like maybe... She didn't mean a whole lot. Not necessarily though, you guys, because there is a chance that...
There are people that are wired that way that when they just close off. And like you heard him, he put all of his energy into his career in school. And one of my old bosses had a traumatic, traumatic divorce. There were kids involved. And you know what this girl did? Didn't shed a tear. She came in. She worked 18-hour days and it did not affect her. Sometimes it's better if you busy yourself with your work. Yeah, but all I can tell you about those people is that it happens. Because it's kind of the concept of a pressure cooker. Oh, eventually. Yeah. I just feel like you can't get through life without that feeling. Everyone has that feeling. Like there are certain people that can do certain jobs. Like even like computer programming, you have to have a different way of thinking. And sometimes people just they think on logic instead of emotion. You know, they don't let their emotions get in the way. My son, Jake's autistic. He isn't. Well, this is supposed to be the rap is that he's not capable.
of experiencing, for instance, this used to be the deal. See, now he does, though. But it used to be a deal that if you were sad, he didn't pick up on it. He didn't pick up on that you were sad. Like people say all the time, oh, what was it like when Rebecca was pregnant with the twins? What was it like for Jake? Jake, there was no response. Yeah, I asked Rebecca that this weekend, if Jake noticed the big, like, huge belly with twins. There was no response to it. Zero. It was like another day. There was no change in him. Even when they were born, people would say, oh, how did he react to the twins? Like there was no one in the house. There was no change. But now he's picking up on emotion. Is that why he cries when they cry? I don't think that that's why he cries when they cry. I think it upsets him because it's an upsetting noise. Maybe. I bet it has something to do with it. He doesn't like to see his little brothers in pain, maybe. Could be it. It seems like he definitely feels emotion now. Yeah. When he sees Woods, it's like general excitement, you know, or very excitement. Yeah. Yeah. He's starting now to understand emotion. Yeah. Like if Rebecca and I are having a conversation and I'm passionate about something, he gets uncomfortable. If I'm going, well, babe, that's why.
those people, you can't just go into a place and economy and blah, blah, blah. And I'll be talking about something really passionately. I want the new iPad. I want the new iPad. Please, can I have it? That's a wrap. Do you know that there are some habits that you probably have that you thought were meaningless, harmless, whatever, but they're actually aging you like you wouldn't believe it. And now back to The Mikey Show with Mikey. I don't want to cry. I don't want movies that make me cry. Lauren. I'm so scared of authority, so I start crying. Woods. I haven't moisturized in days. Dying. Sienna. I'm a big girl now. Got married, having a baby. Now I can rent a car. And Jay. Yeah, like long, soft kisses. Whatever. On FM 94.9. It's called FM 94.9's Independence Jam Coastal Invasion 2010. But what is it really? It's badass. And it's on August 29th. Listen, there's one big concert thing going on this year. This is it. It's Independence Jam. It's so amazing. We're talking about Edward Sharp, Magnetic Zeros, Rogue Wave, The Whigs, Delta Spirit, San Diego's Delta Spirit. This is just an awesome concert. If you're not going on, I want to know you. $30, no extra fees. It's great. Oceanside Pier. And it's one of those deals, too, where it's like...
You want to be there because you don't want to be the guy. Afterwards, it's like. Why move? Why move? Yeah. What am I missing out on? What am I missing out on? That's right. That's what you say all the time, Sabrina. You taught me that. I used it a few times this weekend, by the way. OMG, you did? I did. How'd it go? It went great. And what I was missing out on was people doing fun stuff. And I was sitting there in my house. Not doing anything. And all you had to say was why moo? And then you're like, okay, at least now I know. Yeah, Sabrina taught me why moo. Y-M-W-M-A-I-M-O. What am I missing out on? Love that. What's the weather going to be like today, Sabrina? Oh. Why don't you prepare? I didn't know what time it was going to be on. I think it's going to be cool. It's a quiet call. Sabrina goes to UCLA. She's 21. All she's supposed to do for us is weather. She's never prepared. What are you guys going to do when I have to go back to school? Probably get a weather girl. Probably get a weather girl that actually knows the weather. That'd be interesting, wouldn't it? What is it? San Diego? Yeah, that's where we live. San Diego. Checking on the internet. Are you Huntington Beach? Is that where you're from? Originally, yeah, I'm from Orange County. The OC. Yeah. So she got this job, kind of forced into this job. Yeah, her dad makes her come here.
Yeah. Well, okay. So you just want to know today. That'd be great. Yeah. It's going to be a high of 67. Oh, perfect for... 67. San Diego, California in July. 67 degrees. Chance of precip? 10. Do you know what precip means? Participation? No, it doesn't mean participation. Precipitation. That's what I'm saying. Precip. When she gets something wrong, she gets angry at us. Yeah. It's our fault. Well, you guys are supposed to give me the notes. I'm just supposed to come here and read this stuff. Notes. Not true. By the way, it has one syllable. Not notes. What? Notes. Notes. Like I do sports for the Mikey show. Sports. Mikey doesn't give me the sports. Well, what do you do? Where do you go? Sports.com? Yes. You go to sports.com. You know, you could actually go to weather. That's just where I was. But nobody showed me how to do this job. And I was just like, hey, Mr. Bruce needs a really big favor. This guy named Mickey on the air is like, oh, yeah. It's Mikey. Who? Mikey. It's not Mickey. It's Mikey. That's Mikey right there. That's what I said. Mike. I said Mickey. I was just being like, I was trying to be a brat. You ever been in a relationship, Woods, with that girl? That girl? Yeah, Sabrina. That girl is hot. Might have went around in the lab.
Went around the track a couple times with a girl like that, but never in a relationship. Oh, my gosh. What would that be like? They're fun for about four hours. Four minutes? If you're lucky. What would it be like? No, if you're lucky, sweetheart. What would it be like to be, that's your girlfriend? That would be the worst. That would be the best day of your life, Mike. Don't act like it isn't. I think it would be very high maintenance and difficult to be in a relationship with Sabrina. Well, I am high maintenance. I require a lot of prep and primp, and I expect P&P to be provided by my boyfriend. You expect. P&P. What's P&P? Primp and prep. My boyfriend will fund it. BFF. Do you have a boyfriend? Boyfriend fund. Boyfriend fund. Boyfriend fund. BFF. Had a boyfriend, broke up this weekend. Maybe I'll get back together this week. Are you okay? I'm fine. He's an idiot. Oh, okay. That's a good way of looking at him. Troy. Troy. Troy. Yeah, that's right. Of course. Put you on blast. His name is Troy. Yeah, I'm going to put him on blast because Troy. What did he do? Yeah, why'd you break up? Do you break up with him? Did he break up with you? I broke up with him because he thinks it's really funny to, like, drunk dial me when I'm trying to get my beauty rest. And he's like, oh my gosh, I'm out on PME acting like an idiot.
So you broke up with him? Yeah. Don't call me at three in the morning when I'm trying to sleep. Maybe turn your phone off. Yeah. I need it in case of an emergency. Him calling me to tell me how funny him and his stupid friends are, not emergency. All right. 67. Sunny? Cloudy? What? Partly cloudy. PC. PC. PC. That's right. So, Sienna, what are some things that we do? That are normal to us. Habits that we have that to us, they're harmless. Sugar. Sugars. Sugar's aging me? Aging you. Not only is it bad for you, but they say it's aging you. You need to limit your added sugar to no more than 10% of the total calories. Great. Great. I know. This sucks. Obviously, sleep does suck. Sleep is a really big one. If you don't sleep enough, wrinkles are going to start piling on real quick. I wonder what enough is. Eight hours a night. Is it? Do we need that? I think humans can function on sex. Most people need seven to eight hours. I thought it was six to eight. What's that like? Oh, I know it. I don't know what that's like. Stepping that up. Do you know what? What? Listen, I'll say this before I even say it. My wife is more busy than I am, but I'm busy. I'm a busy person. You're a busybody. To the point where I have to have surgery, I'm looking forward to it. Just a little rest.
R&R. I'm looking forward to being in a hospital room. With your gown open and your laptop on top. And I don't have anything. And I don't have any obligations. You are a busy dude. You always have something going on. I have stuff. And so that, to me, is like a vacation. Bro, maybe you work into your schedule. Chill at home Saturday. Put rest in your schedule. See, you called me Saturday after we had our little fun day together. Yeah. And you go, are you couching real good? I go, that's exactly what I'm doing. I'm couching. You don't couch it, do you? I do not couch it. Ever? It's so fun. Oh, I do it. I'll tell you what, though. Yesterday, Little Boots got a nice little nap. Did he? Oh, it was so spectacular. How long? Two hours. Three hours. Maybe three. That's nice. That's good now. In the bed? Well, I didn't nap that long, but I know from noon to three yesterday, I didn't have any responsibilities. In the bed? In the bed. That's a nap. If you nap in the bed, that's legit. Noon to three yesterday, didn't have any responsibilities. Oh, that's so nice. Feels like a brand new day when you wake up. Oh, it was great. Yesterday was a really awesome day. What else? Another thing that will aid you, stress.
Now, I know sometimes you feel like you can't prevent stress, but you need to learn a way to limit your stress. So the breathing, all of that stuff is really important because. What? I said pod. Pod. Like sleeping in a pod. Yes. I pretend I'm in a pod. Oxygen pod. Did you think I said pod? Pod. I said pod. I was like, what? Pod. Todd will send me right down. Just send Todd over to Mikey's house. See, I need Todd. Todd, go to Mikey's. He can't sleep. I know. Todd's like, oh, I'm used to that already at home. Don't just exercise to lose weight. Exercise because you like to. Like, find something. I love it. No, but find something that you do. You know what I'll do? I'll just go jog. But surfing, dancing, walking on a bike. Woods, I'm stressed. Let's tango. Let's have a So You Think You Can Dance Mikey Show edition. Sometimes, though, if you're only exercising to lose weight or to get fit, you burn yourself out. So find something that you like. You know what I like to do? I like to put on a baseball cap to the side and suspenders and hip-hop dance.
Mexican hat dance? A little jumping bean? Yeah, it's me. This next one, Woods. What? This is going to age you if you listen to music too loud. Oh, sorry. Not changing that. Uh-huh. If you turn it off of 11 and down to 10. Nope. Hearing loss typically develops slowly, and it's from stuff like that. When you listen to stuff that's way too loud. I can't get my music loud enough. I can't have it loud enough. If music gave you wrinkles, would you turn it down? No. You wouldn't? No. I would. No. I would. Why wouldn't you? Because I love it. Why does it need to be so loud? It's like Gene Simmons said from Kiss. Oh, gosh. I love it loud. Okay. That's nice. Okay. Words to live. It's all, yeah. It's all just reflect on the words of Gene. It should. Is that it? No, there's more. Hang out with your friends because it's always going to keep you young. Eat your veggies. Oh, boy.
And make love as often as possible. There we go. There we go. All those things will keep you young. Oh, boy. I gotta agree with that list. Fornicate as much as you can. Well, I'm trying to keep it, you know, PC. I agree with it. I mean, not just the last part, all of it. In the jungle? It's true. Just go out to the jungle and sleep in a tree and make love. You know, the veggies. Eating a leaf. Getting some sleep. Eating some carrots. Waltzing up there. Yeah. Making love to African-American gentlemen. You doesn't have to be American. Oh, my God. I just got a head rush. Oh, my God. This is the creepiest story. When Sienna told me about this, I was like, you've got to be kidding me. Have you heard about... The fact that there were inmates in prison in Mexico that were released so that they could commit killings. Wow. Crazy story. We'll tell you about it next time. Voice be heard on The Mikey Show now. I'm ready. Call 570-1949. Keep going on and shoot him a text. 949mikey at gmail.com. I guess I was a little confused about that part. This is The Mikey Show on FM 94.9.

So, okay, Sienna, what's the deal with these inmates in Mexico? This is a crazy story. So there is a prison in Gomez Palacio. Nice. Seraso Prison. Oops, sorry. That didn't fit at all with the prison. I know, I know. Where they're playing harps now. My sound effect kept playing. Well, this is pretty nuts. Authorities, apparently top authorities at this prison, released some of the inmates in order to kill people. Why? Yes. Now, I guess these delinquents were committing executions as part of a debt settling scheme against members of a rivalry group. Weird. And it's all like an organized crime. And this happened on July 18th, the attack. And four of these officials, main guys at this one prison, have been detained. in the investigation because they released them in order to kill people. That is creepy. Yeah, including the prison's director. Oh, boy. Yeah, this story is, like, coming out more and more, but it's just nuts. I mean, innocent civilians were killed as well, and not good. So the other thing happening is the latest in Mel Gibson's deal is that there was a report that Oksana Gregorieva, Mel's girlfriend, that the...
tapes got out, and the reason that they got out was because of her sister. And they actually were asking her about it. And if, you know, if it's true, did your sister release these audio tapes? What are these reports about your sister releasing the tapes? Is this true? She erased them a long time ago. She doesn't sound very Russian there. No. She didn't have them. She erased them a long time ago. She definitely sounds Russian most of the time. Yeah. I think she's just... But on this, she's like, that's not true. Nobody did that. Whatever. What are these reports about your sister releasing the tapes? Is this true? She erased them a long time ago. Then why is Natalie's name coming up? Because Mel is lying. He's lying. There's no extortion and there's no text and no emails. He's lying, okay? And I'm fighting for my child and he's just a liar. And it will come up in the court. Just wait. You know, Tony Robbins, the inspirational speaker, he was on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and Jay asked what he would tell Mel. What would you do with Mel Gibson, for example? No, no, no, I'm serious. Here's a guy who everybody's known for years.
All this seems to be a recent occurrence. He doesn't have a history with his kids and married a long time. All of a sudden, the last couple of years, things seem crazy. He calls you. What would you do there? I'd find out what's changed in his blueprint. We all have a blueprint of how we think our life is supposed to be. And when it matches, we're happy. When it doesn't match, we're upset. When it's way off, people get crazy. Something in his life doesn't match where he thinks he should be at this stage. And it's making him insane. He's behaving in a way that nobody can support. I disagree with Tony. Do you? Yeah, I think that you can be very unhappy when you're exactly where you think you should be. And I think that you can be very happy when you're not where you think you should be in your life. Do you think Tony Robbins gets sore throats a lot? Yes. Sounds like Eskimo. It is so deep. I know. I'm like, oh, that seems painful to talk. It does. Blast and cigs. Real good. Yeah. Tell me about the... Ancient Chinese secret. Oh. Can you tell me about the... Surefire ways to keep, because right now, even though it feels like we're in the middle of autumn, this is grilled time. November and burning leaves. Yeah, I know. I can't wait to actually grill something. It just hasn't seemed like grilling. Not have to wear mittens. Without your mittens on? Yeah. Without a little windbreaker? Yeah. Without a beanie cap on? Yeah. But there's this thing that Sienna found about...
ways to keep food from sticking on the grill. Now, the thing is, is that everybody knows to spray Pam on there. Except if you're me, you think that the can's going to explode in your hand because your dad told you that from the time you were a little kid. I always think that too. Which I heard is complete BS now that they make them so that my dad always, you know, the flame's going to crawl back up in the can and explode in your hand. Yeah. Which I've heard now is a complete urban legend doesn't happen. Try it. So, I know of two ways to keep food from sticking on the grill. One is to put olive oil on a paper towel and rub it on there. And the other one is to spray it with Pam. What else? Well, this one that has to do with oil is preheat the grill grate, brush with a stiff bristled wire grill brush and oil well before you cook. That's what I do. And then when you're done, do that again. While the grate is still hot. Oh, I don't do that. I walk away from it like a lazy person and let it smolder out. Resist the urge to turn the food prematurely before the proteins have firmed up and are ready to release easily. That is another thing I do. It's real important. If you throw a steak on the grill, don't touch it. Leave it alone. I went to the La Jolla Strip Club. Yeah? I didn't know you had to make your own stuff there. Oh, yeah. It's a concept. I was just like, ugh. I got to cook.
No idea. I'm like spinning it over and over. I'm like looking like, trying to look at what other people are doing. I'm like, I have no idea what's going on here. You know what else you don't do? When you cook hamburgers, this doesn't have anything to do with it not sticking. But when you cook a hamburger, do not take the spatula and press it down on the burger. I do that. Don't do that. I do that when I cook. All the juices go away. Really? That happens? You'll make the driest burger. Yeah. If you squeeze it. You just wanted to make it quick though. Interesting. Yeah. Let it just sit there and you'll get the juiciest burger. I don't like juicy burgers. You do not? I like my steaks like medium rare. My burgers are like almost well done. Weird. Like a hockey puck? Yeah. It's weird. Another way to keep your food from sticking to the grill, turn food only once with a thin bladed spatula. I turned my one at the strip club like 400 times. Me too. I flip, flip, flip, flip, flip. This is nervous energy, Woods. Yeah, probably. Leave that sucker be. Nah. Limit your use of sauces and marinades with a high sugar content because they cause foods to stick as they caramelize. Yeah, and burn. It's got sugar in it. It'll burn up. Leave it alone. The guy that wrote this, his last tip is adopt my mantra for the grill grate. Keep it hot. Keep it clean. Keep it lubricated. Really? Is that what your mantra is?
My mantra for life. Family show. Keep it hot, keep it clean, keep it lubricated. It's my mantra for life. Is it? Yeah. And lovemaking. And lovemaking. Wow. Gross. Creep. Keep it hot. Keep it clean. Keep it clean. Keep it lubricated. It's his mantra. He can't remember it. And keep it lubricated. Maybe write your mantra down, buddy. Yeah. Get a tattoo on your wrist. Maybe have your mantra be shorter, too. Keep it hot. Keep it clean. Keep it lubricated. Keep it moist. Keep it. Well done. Keep it fresh. Keep it fresh. Keep it real sweet. Keep it seasoned real sweetly. Hi, Hillary. Thanks for that. Don't call on me. Don't call on me. What are you doing? What's your mantra, Hill? Keep it hot and keep it lubricated. It's inappropriate. You're making me blush. That word makes me so uncomfortable. Lubricated. Yeah. Did you have a good weekend? I did. We went camping. You did? Speaking of, I was getting ready listening to you guys this morning talking about, yeah, camping or backpacking across Europe. I love. Let me tell you what a fatty I am. As soon as you said you went camping, the first thing I wanted to know.
What you eat. What you eat. That's the first thing. How did you survive? Write that down. No, no, no. I wanted to know, like, because camping food is good. S'mores. Did you have s'mores? Oh, of course. We had s'mores. We had brats. We brought, see, my husband and my sister-in-law, his sister, grew up camping all the time. They're from Chico, Northern California. They camped all the time. So, I mean, we ate well. I bet. Like, they have grilled onions and bell peppers on the camp stove. made brats, toasted up the buns, brought all the fixings. I want to eat that right now. My sister-in-law's friend Amelia made this awesome like garlicky lemon coleslaw. Just the worst. It was great. Wow. And then yesterday. I feel like I'm salivating. I'm back on my diet, dude. That was the most ferocious I've ever heard. You know what I get to do? We almost just all attacked Hillary. That was hot, clean, and lubricated. Hot, clean, and lubricated. Keep it hot, keep it clean, keep it lubricated. So yesterday morning. Four fatties in here.
Keep talking about food. You know how much I love food, too. Hillary is fanning herself off. Oh, I love to eat. Yeah. So yesterday morning, my sister-in-law starts another campfire and breaks out a paella pan, sprays the pan, and makes blueberry pancakes on the campfire. Oh, my God. I want to go camping with your family. Oh, and bacon. We had bacon, eggs, potatoes the whole night. Yeah, come camping with us. We had a great time. Did you have a mini fridge in the car? No. How did you keep everything fresh? A couple coolers. Oh, wow. Yeah, lots of ice. That's awesome. It was great. What are you doing? in the day? Eat? And wireless? We went to fashion weapons out of reeds. Frisbee? Maybe some Frisbee? Yeah, we played cards. The wireless Frisbee? We walked around. It was at Lake Morena. So we went down to the lake and hung out. That's like real stuff. I want to go camping, Jay. I'm going this weekend.
Look at you. Thanks for the invite, pal. You know he'd hook it up. Oh, yeah. He'd be cooking filet mignon out there. Well, not him, but he doesn't eat meat. I want to go camping now. Yeah, it was great. Sounds fun. Some s'mores. You had me at s'mores. Write that down. What do you got coming up, pal? You had me at s'mores. You know, Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeros are playing our Independence Channel, which you guys are all going to be at, right? Absolutely. And there's a new song from their new record. So I'm going to play that. It's called 40 Day Dream. There's another song off that record? I know. We've been playing it at home a lot. But it's like our number one most requested song. Absolutely. Bad and Mumford & Sons. So yeah, I'm picking a different one. New Interpol and some Ramones and of course The Clash. New Interpol? Oh, it's so good. Wow. Yeah, it's called Barricade. I'm on it. Lovely and talented Hillary. up next. We will come back tomorrow morning at 6 o'clock and do this again. Mikey shows out late. The Lincoln Financial radio station. Mikey in the morning. About the music all day and night. FM 94.9. It's about the music. According to Sublime's new lead singer Rome, who is 21 by the way, the band is hitting the studio in October to start pre-production on a new Sublime record and they're going to release a single soon too.
Blime, that's April 29th, 1992 on FM 94.9. Cage the Elephants in one ear and Nirvana dive from Incesticide back there too. Good morning, it's Hillary. I hope you had a good weekend. I got some Ramones coming up and new Interpol. Also, another new song from Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zero's new record. You've missed concerts before and you regretted it. Don't kick yourself this year and get your tickets now for the FM 94.9 Independence Jam Coastal Invasion presented by Scion and Miller Lite. Sunday, August 29th.
