Jay goes creeper on his own wife during intros! Mikey gives a teaser of the Bro Battle between Woods and Jay that the girls were witness to. Floatopia gets sunk by the city council, so take note boozehounds. M1 Babyshaker calls out his ‘baby girl’, LOB. Sienna’s second attempt to shop at Whole Foods drew many judging eyes and she barely made it through the check out. Dez Bryant refuses to play along with NFL hazing rituals and this draws a big debate. LOB is such a nice person, whenever I see her she treats this pauper like a prince. Callers weigh in with their opinions and Sienna loves the idea of hazing someone. One caller suggests Dez Bryant needs to be tied down and tea-bagged by the entire team! Mikey Court is in session to settle the hilarious big argument between Jay and Woods. Jay presents his case as “The King’s caddy” not “the Jester’s”. The Kid begins his defense by throwing in an “elderly” adverb directed at Jay. The girls tell it how they remember it and the case never needs to go to the M1 jury as it settles itself. After a break Woodsy apologizes to Jay and the two pals do a naked belly high five! Mikey worries about going in for his upper G.I. Senor Beans wants to go to the “Greet and Meat” and learns about “yesters” from Tio “Yay”. When is it ok to date your best friend’s sister? LOB gets roasted for her yogurt drink thrashing her voice. Tech talk breaks down the act of ‘jail breaking’ a cell phone. A text asking what is up with Lauren’s blog leads to another emotional moment as she cries while explaining what’s going on in her personal life. This makes two days in a row where a cast member through their honesty breaks down on air and is one of the reasons we love this show and the people on it so much(IMO). Can the amount of a mother’s affection lead to adulthood stress and anxiety? Sabrina big-times Mikey and blames the weather on the Jonas Brothers! MIDI Madness has Sienna on a different wavelength. Nothing like a few good Tom Jones jokes during new releases. Wolfgang sings the praises of the best German band, Kraftwerk.

KBZT San Diego, a Lincoln Financial Media Station. The new home of The Mikey Show, FM 94.9. Is it Tuesday already? How about that? No. Today is? Yeah, it's Tuesday. Welcome, everybody. It's The Mikey Show, and we've got open phones for you right now. 570-1949 is our phone number. If you want to call us, you can text us to 949-MIKEY. Mikey is spelled M-I-K-E-Y, unlike the mouse. That's M-I-C-K-E-Y. M-I-K-E-Y at gmail.com. So, yeah, love to hear from you. We got a lot of stuff to talk about. We got a lot of stuff to do, so let's get into it. I'll do a quick introduction so that you know who everybody is. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show, and I am 40 years of age. Woodsy is our sports guy. He's 35. Doesn't wear glasses anymore. Sure does.
That's pretty awesome. Lauren is our resident comedian, and she is our assistant producer. She's wearing tie-dye today. She's 29 years of age. She's got blonde hair and a Brazilian blowout. What else do you need to know? Dynamic. That's right. She's dynamic. Sienna, who's looking fantastic today. Why, thank you. I must enjoy this outfit. I know. Got my attention. It's pleasing to the eye. It's pleasing to the eye. I don't know why. It's pretty. Yeah. It's from Target. Is it? Yeah. My wife does that a lot. Throw down a lot of cash. Seriously, I'll be like, I'll be like, oh, babe, that's really nice. Where'd you get that? Target. Love that place. Amazing. Yeah. Sienna is 25. She's our news girl. And she's always got a smile on her face. Let's say, you know, Sienna. Baby's due in exactly one month from today. Holy cow. I know.
I woke up this morning, I was like, is he the 27th? Yes. Little baby girl. That's right. Wish I could say that I'm excited for you, but I'm going to miss you too much. I'm excited for you. I'm going to miss you too. I can't wait to hold a little baby. I know. Are you going to be cool about, hey. Hold the baby? I hope so. You don't know yet, right? I don't know. You don't know yet. I'm sure I'll be fine, but I keep thinking like, oh my gosh, what if someone drops the baby? Oh my gosh, it's my nightmare. I know, right? How do you not think like that for a second? I'm sure I'll be fine, I hope. Jay is our producer. Jay has four kids. He's 47. Can you believe that? Four kids, Jay. I can't believe it. 47. Has a gorgeous wife named Kim. Yep. Ew, he's dying. I know. Oh, my gosh, Jay. Good Lord. Weird. Oh, that is the creepiest thing. Yeah. That just got weird. 26 years of marriage, man. Hey, listen. That is what keeps it alive. Oh, yeah. When I say he's got a gorgeous wife named Kim and he goes, mmm. That is love and affection. Yeah.
That's what Def Leppard wrote that song about. It's incredible. You know what I mean? That was so great. Yeah, darling. Did you hear me talk about you on the radio this morning? Well, give me some. Yeah, seriously. I'll be home at 1045. 1045, baby. You be ready. Let's hope his four kids aren't listening. You'll know me. I'm the creep that'll walk in the front door. I think he talks like that in front of his kids. They're probably like, Dad! Do you, Jay? I do. Really? Gross! Hey, it's natural. No! How do you think I've got four kids, you know? Yeah, that's true. It feels real good, pal. Good point. Man, I bet the kids get creeped out by that. My parents used to say the same thing. How do you think you got here? Oh! Yeah! That was my exact response. Oh, that's so filthy. Mom, don't say that. My mom and dad have never had sex. Never. Mine either. They have never had sex. You just showed up one day. I'm sure of it. The stork brought you. They're way too sweet for sex. Gross. You trying to freak me out this morning? Isn't that gross? Hey, my grandmother used to tell my mom.
How dirty sex was and it's just so filthy. Thirteen kids. What? My grandmother had thirteen kids. Well, apparently somebody liked it. Wow! That's a lot. That's a lot of kids. Imagine going through what you're going through, Sienna, thirteen times. I think I'm good. Let's see. It's only seven minutes after six a.m. right now, but just after seven o'clock this morning. Everybody is going to find out about what happened between Woods and Jay. Now, Woods and Jay are boys. Woods and Jay are boys. There's no doubt about it. In fact, Jay taught Woods how to surf. And they are always, they always get along. However, I missed a little blowout that they had. Lauren and I did not. You were present when it happened? We were there and we were so quiet. You guys just stay quiet? I just kind of looked at each other and then looked at our phones. This is awkward. Jamie was on the phone with me. You were on the phone with my wife. But Jay didn't know that. He came walking into the room and Woods had his arm up. Question. Did you...
Hang the phone up to have this conversation. She heard the whole thing. Well, because it happened as quickly. It ended as quickly as it began. Was it fast? Kind of dragged on a little bit. But we went to lunch after. We didn't even talk about it. Real time. Real time? Three minutes. No. Oh, yeah. Really? Three minutes is an eternity, bro. It's an eternity. And let's try to be quiet for three minutes. Can't do it. Yeah, no. You can't do it. I was still walking down the hall running mouth. Yeah, that's true. And then Jay was walking by me again running mouth. It was a prolonged, all toll, I think. It kept happening, yeah. Well, just after 7 o'clock, we're going to tell you about what they argued about. And the reason that we're even bringing it to the radio is because as an M1, it's something that you can probably relate to. Yes. It is something that you have probably experienced. But even if you haven't, okay, even if you haven't, you will have an opinion on it. Oh, yeah. One way or the other. Now, this is what I thought was great about it. When I heard the story, I said, I can definitely see both sides. And I can definitely be an attorney for either side. I'd like to propose something if I could. Sure. I'd like to propose that you're the judge and that the M1s are the jury. Okay. Can we do that? We can do that. All right. You guys down for that? Yeah, sure. Present our cases in the best and most fair way. Absolutely.
Okay. 7.30 this morning, we'll do that. 7.30? Yeah. So you got to report to jury duty. And we will explain what happened. Yep. Yes. Because it was heated. 7.30 this morning, we will tell. And again, it's not just a Woods J thing. It's something that you will have an opinion on or that you've experienced yourself. Floatopia. This happens every year. In fact, it just happened. No, no, not every year. I thought it's been happening ever since they banned booze. It's happened like two or three times, but ever since that they banned the booze on the beach, you know, and they forgot to say in the ban, no booze on the water either. So, you know, people find the little loopholes and they get on their floats and their surfboards and they drink in the water because, hey, we're not on sand. It's legal. Yeah. Well, as of yesterday, the San Diego City Council has banned Floatopia parties and any loophole that there may have been about drinking on the water. I know. I know. Can I ask a question? Yeah. It's a big deal about drinking outside. What do you mean? What's a big deal? It feels nice. The deal, though, was more specifically is drinking on the beach. No, no. Okay. What is the big allure?
Why do we like it? Because you're outside, you're having fun, you're in the sun. It's just like when we all go and hang out at the beach and have a barbecue or whatever, you want to have a couple pops. No, I go to the beach to surf and hang out and play football. Seriously. I know you do. But Woods, don't you see that you also bring chips with you? Yeah, I eat. Okay, and you also bring something to drink and now I guess it's water, soda, whatever. But getting hammered in the sun for me is like... Okay, getting hammered and having a beer. But it's a nice backdrop. If you were going to have a barbecue at someone's house, have a couple beers. Can I say something about this? Yeah. What if you want to have a Bartles and James? No, not allowed. What if I want to go to the beach and all I want to do is bring a cooler and... My friend Tom and I want to have a Bartles and James. Not going to happen. Not anymore. Not in the city limits. Sorry. He drinks Boone's Farm. I'm sorry. I screwed it up. Drink Spoon's Farm. But what if you want to have one wine cooler? You're being responsible. Go to your house. Can't do it anymore. Let me go to a bar. Go to your house. You go to your bar. Let me go sit on a patio somewhere. You go sit on a patio. Why don't you be able to have it?
I want to have a wine cooler. Well, you can't have a wine cooler because it comes in glass bottles. What if I pour my bottle into a Coke can? I can't do that either. You could probably get away with it. Yeah, but I get in trouble because I'm drinking alcohol on the beach. Nobody catches that guy. They sell these things now that I saw at a surf store. It's like a big sticker that fits all the way around a can and it says like Coca-Cola label on it or something. So you grab one of these labels and you stick it on a beer can. You can make it yourself. Just take an X-Acto knife, slit it down the middle. Yeah, you gotta be James Gum now. I know. To have a beer on the beach. I'm, listen, I don't, first of all, it doesn't affect my life, which will irritate people because I have an opinion on it. It'll irritate people because they go, well, why do you have an opinion on it? You don't have anything to do with it. Eh, you sure do. You know, I guess, listen, I live here, that's all. I'll give you my opinion. I think that the beer on the beach causes problems. Fights, mostly. You got a lot of kids drunk, they want to fight. And then the other thing it causes...
is when you're inebriated, you don't care so much about litter. It's true. And it looks like a big toilet out there. And now, Flotopia, them going out there, here's what I would have said. They found a loophole, good for them. And if they went out there and they behaved like ladies and gentlemen, perfect. Apparently they didn't. They went out there, they were rascals. Oh well. You're a rascal. You lost your privileges. And litter was less of a problem when you could drink on the beach because there's plenty of people around to, I mean, literally you'd be on your last sip of your beer and someone would be around to take it because of the redemption value, the cash redemption value that you get for cans and bottles in California. So you're saying litter was not a problem. It wasn't, I mean, I'm sure that there was like, you know. people that would disagree with me that work for the city, but I think it was less of a problem because there was always people around scooping those up because you'd get money for all those cans. Well, it still was a problem with fights. Yeah, but that was, yeah, I mean, it was, but that was like on the big holidays in PB, you know, like there was a lot of people that were punished, you know, that never did anything wrong. I mean, hey, isn't that always the case? It is, it is. In anything, you know, like it's always the...
Yahoo's, the one bad apple, spoils the whole bunch, girl. Because think about that man in his 30s that just wants to bring three beers down to the beach and just chill with his wife or whatever. And he can't do it anymore. Can't do it because Yahoo's ruined it. You know what I like at the beach? What? Fresh Mountain Dew. Have you always liked that? Who are you? Yeah, I'm not a day drinker, man. I never have been. Oh, I love it. Day drinking is the best. It's a night owl. Fave. Real good. F-A-V-E. I hate it. You were never the dude that wanted to have a cold beer at the beach. Dude, I don't drink beer at a ball game. I don't drink beer. Really? Nope. I don't. Anybody's ever been at a ball game? I don't. Ask my wife. She drives her nuts. How come? I don't like to drink during the day. I don't like day drinking. What are you doing? He stays up all night. I'd rather go out at night and have a couple cocktails. That will change with this job, my friend. I mean, it's probably why I don't booze. I'd rather be done by like five in the afternoon. Feel great the next day? Good night's sleep? Not the kid. You don't want to have the kid running around drunk at 5 p.m. Bad things will happen. Well, hey, you can call about it.
I'm more than willing to take your calls about what you think. 570-1949. Call us up and just turn your radio down. Get to the point and don't cuss. That is the point of being an M1. M1s are always turning new M1s on to the Mikey Show. It's a community. You can follow us all on Twitter. Mikey Show followed by our name. Mikey Show Mikey. Mikey Show Lauren. Mikey Show Woods. Mikey Show Sienna. And Mikey Show Jay. If you're Twitter inclined. And if you want to, you can go to Facebook, facebook.com slash Mikey Show, and you can find us on Facebook. We try to get into all the social networking things because if we don't, we're behind the times and we look like nerds. The CEO of BP, it's official. Tony Hayward, goodbye. Yeah, he's out. The announcement came out this morning that he's going to be stepping down as CEO and will be replaced by an American, Bob Dudley. Bob Dudley. Yeah, he's the one who's been, you know, managing. He sounds more British than Tony. Bob Dudley, I know. He's the guy that's been managing all the, you know, the company's responsibilities with the Gulf of Mexico spill as of right now. So he's the one that.
clearly should be the CEO. He's been doing a lot of the work while Tony Hayward's, you know, been on a yacht, vacationing. He, remember, you may remember him quoting saying, I want my life back. Yeah. You got it, pal. Bunch of stuff like that. So he said in a conference call with reporters today, this morning, I believe that it is not possible for the company to move on in the United States with me remaining as the face of BP. It's a good call. Yeah. Yeah, for sure. Also, Thad Allen, just while we're talking about BP. Hey, hey, hey. It's Thad. Yes. He says that Static Kill could begin as of next week. Static Kill is when they put a plug in it. It's a great band. It's a great name for a band. That's when they're going to be pouring mud and cement into the well from above. There you go. Yeah. This one's for Lauren O'Brien, who likes black guys. M1 Baby Shaker from Camp Pendleton is on the line. How you doing? I was listening to y'all talking about drinking. As long as I ain't going to go to work, I would drink in the morning, in the evening. Are you drinking right now? I'm supposed to be going to work. And where are the white women at? That's another reason I'm calling. What happened, baby girl? You're supposed to be getting at me with the backstage pants so we can meet up. And where are the white women at?
That's supposed to be, that's Woods' job. That's right. Still have never seen an email from him. Hey, Baby Shaker, by the way, I did the drink all day thing. Trust me, it's not good for you. No. I used to do it, okay? I ended up just a maudlin alcoholic. You're right, because I'm headed that direction now. Don't do it. Don't do it. Don't do it. Well, that's why I'm trying to hook up with Baby Girl. Hang on, let me ask. Let me ask. Baby girl? Yes. I want to go. Baby girl? Yes, Papa. How does Baby Shaker make it right? He has to email woods at mikeyshow.com. But there's something in the guy room that a guy should not have to email some wood, okay? I don't even know what that means. I don't even know what that means. Email me. You could email Lauren. He's the man in charge. If you email me, I'll just forward it on to a man. That's right. Well said. Thank you, baby shaker. All right. Appreciate you. I love it. I'm one baby shaker. Hey, what's up, baby girl? Hey, baby girl. I like being called that. Yeah. I like being called that. I like being called. I like it when you call me baby girl. Oh, my gosh. It's very pleasing to me. My milkshake brings the boys to the yard. And they're like, it's better than yours. All right, Sienna. Bunch of dorks we are. I know it.
Oh, big, huge story today, too, is the hospital mix-up. You guys hear about this? Oh, my gosh. Gnarly story. Gosh, it makes me sick to my stomach. Yeah, me too. I know. So a group of kids, they go to Disneyland from Phoenix, Arizona, driving back, all in a car, five young people, early 20s, getting in an accident. Taken to the hospital in Phoenix. Now, there's three guys, two girls. The two girls are best friends, Abby Guerra and Marlena Cantu. And there's a mix-up in the hospital. One of them has died. The other is in critical condition. The one in critical condition, the hospital told the family, okay, this is kind of hard because it's confusing, but basically the one who died was the family got news that their daughter had died. Their daughter, however, was alive and they found out a week later that she was the one in critical condition the whole time. So the other family who thought their daughter was alive had been waiting over her bed while she's been in the hospital only to find out that that wasn't in fact their daughter. It was the other girl.
So one family got news that their daughter died. Yeah. And then they found out that she was alive. I mean, this huge mix up at the hospital in Phoenix. It was the St. Joseph's Medical Center. And I mean, it's happened before. It has. It's like because it was bad. I mean, you couldn't identify the body. And finally, after they got the dental records, they were able to say, you know, which was which. It happens because the people are so, you know, beat up from getting in a car accident. You know, and it's in all honesty, it's it's a pretty honest mistake. I mean, and. The case that I saw before, they were so disfigured that there was no way to tell. And in that case, I think it was Lisa Van Ryn. And in that case, when that happened, the girls looked very similar. Yeah, I think these girls look a lot alike. Oh, they do. They do. And they're friends. Yeah, and the doctors at first. So, so sad. So sad. I mean, this story is everywhere right now. The doctors at first asked the family, you know, can you identify some scars, some birthmarks or something so we could try to identify your daughter? And they did. And still, they switched the girls. And it's, you know, an honest mistake, but a big mistake. Laura Van Ryn was who it happened with before. And you know what, Mikey? And I think the mind is a really, really powerful thing. And when they tell you, that's your daughter.
laying there you're you don't want to think anything different because you already know the other girl has passed away and in your mind you're going to convince yourself that that's your daughter whether it is or not you know and and as you sit there and wait for her to get better man what a tough tough thing for both families and the girls were well for one family i'm sure it's quite a relief right i mean for one family They thought their daughter was dead or no, they thought she was. No, they did. Yeah, they did. Yeah, they thought they thought that their daughter had died. And days later, after the dental records came out, they were told, actually, your daughter is alive. And that's for them. Yeah. I mean, an amazing, amazing, you know, realization. Yeah. Second. And then for the other family, just total devastation. Because they, you know, the other family sitting there, you know, praying by this girl's bed, be okay, be okay. She's in critical condition. And then they find out, you know, that's not their daughter the entire time. Dateline NBC did a story on when this happened years ago. And it's one of the most compelling Dateline NBC's probably ever aired.
where these girls looked so much alike. Blonde girls? Blonde girls. And they got switched up because they, and let me tell you, in that case it went even further because as the girls started to recover, the girl's sister, the families couldn't tell. Even as she was recovering, she couldn't talk very well. And they still thought, this is my daughter, this is my sister, this is, you know. And it took a little time before they started to go. I don't think that this is her. Oh, gosh. It rips your guts out, man. Yeah. Because it's like you just want to believe with everything that you have. Yeah. That's got to be her. Please let that be her. Yeah. Gosh, it's awful. 570-1949 is the number. And you can also text us, 949mikey at gmail.com. You know who the Geezer Bandit is, okay? Geezer Bandit is the dude in San Diego that's been robbing banks with, like,
He looks like an old man. Could be a disguise. I believe it's a disguise. Could be an old man. I believe it's a disguise. Basically, he walks into banks and he has a gun hidden and he walks up to a teller, shows him the gun, says, give me your money. We never know how much money he walks out with. But this guy's struck, I believe, 11 times now throughout San Diego. Wow. Yeah. I bet they find him. He's a guy in his 30s or 40s. No. Or 17. Or 17. But anyway, we got a new robber in San Diego. And what's this guy about? They're not saying it's the Geezer Bandit, but it's a 71-year-old man in a wheelchair. And he was arrested yesterday, about five minutes after he robbed a bank downtown. It was the Chase Bank branch office. And it's right on Broadway. This guy wheeled in, wheeled out with some cash. He showed them a... stolen BB gun, a fake BB gun. No, this was a real BB gun. And that's... A pistol or... A BB pistol. Is that a difference? BB gun, BB pistol? Than a rifle. Like when you hear BB gun, it's a rifle. But a BB...
Pistol, it's the same thing, just shoots BBs. Who's the Sally Teller that gave the money to the guy in the wheelchair with a BB pistol? You don't know it's a BB. I didn't even know it was the difference between a BB gun and a BB pistol. If it looked real, I'd be like. If it had an orange tip on it and was clearly a toy, I would give him the money. If there was water leaking out of the plastic bottom. If there was water leaking out of the bottom of it. Then maybe. This 71-year-old guy, the reason I guess he struck the bank, he knew he was going to get caught. He wanted to go back to prison because he was there before because of health reasons. Yeah. That's sad. Really sad. Hey, the papier-mâché. shark around the surfer in Cardiff is now national news. It's everywhere. It's on CNN. It's on all the national news. I love it. And the mayor of Encinitas is Dan Daliger. And he was talking about it. And people are down there. It's like a tourist attraction. Yeah. You can see it on CNN.com and everything. People are like going down to take pictures next to it. Is it still up? Yeah, I think it's still up. I want to meet the guys that did it. Me too.
Shake their hand. If anybody knows them, yeah. Yeah, if anybody's listening and knows them, I want to, like, say, because they didn't do any, I don't, as far as I know, they did not commit a crime. They didn't break a law. Email me, lauren at mikeyshow.com. Or email the Mikey Show, you know. I mean, yeah, sure, you can email Lauren if you want. Send me a picture. Had to sneeze. I can put down a 20. pack of chicken nuggets. No problem. I'm like a little bit Irish. Everything white, I am. And Jay. No, I didn't cry. Come on, man. On FM 94.9. 7.30 this morning. Less than an hour. You're going to be finding out what it was that Jay and Woods got so riled up about with each other. And you will have an opinion on it. And you will also, for sure, I mean, it's just one of those deals where you hear it and you go, here's who I think was right, here's who I think was wrong.
Let's say Jay got riled up, and let's leave it at that, maybe. Jay did get riled up. Let's say Jay got riled up. Maybe he had a reason. And then you got riled up. Maybe somebody gets my back for once. I have your back sometimes. Sometimes. I see both sides. I do, too. Which means that I definitely see your side, Woods. It's like a coin. Fair and impartial judge. That's all I'm asking for. Yeah, I can see your side, too, Woods, but you're wrong. Well, we will find out, won't we? And at the end of it... There must be resolution. We'll have a handshake and a hug. I'll hug you now. I'll do pencil suck, whatever you want. That's weird. That's probably not necessary. You know what? You're shirtless? I'll do it, but I'm not wearing any underwear. Oh, gross. I'll watch. I don't think I will. Let's see. So we're going to be telling you what NFL team has extended an offer to Terrell Owens. Who do you think has extended an offer to Terrell Owens? Because we're going to tell you. Coming up here in just a second. This was interesting to me. Well, first of all, I think you need to know that Woodsy has now not smoked since Thursday at 12 o'clock in the afternoon. How about that? Almost a week. Dude, that is so awesome. You know, I don't like to...
I don't want to break my arm and pat myself on the back because I don't really have any time under my belt. But for me, that's a long, long time. How long has it been since you've done that? I mean, I think I quit for a week one time. But I was the biggest D that you've ever met for the whole week. And I've been my normal old self pretty much. Yeah, I'd say so. You're doing good, man. Thank you. So, four days? Thursday, or Friday, all day Friday, all day Saturday, all day Sunday, all day Monday, and then so far today. Five days. Really, for me, if I can make it here without Blast and Sig, I'm pretty much okay for the rest of the day because I'll go home and work out and stuff, and I don't really need it then, so it's that drive-in. In addition to not smoking, he's doing P90X, which is kicking your butt. I restarted again yesterday, and it was cool. The cool thing about taking a week off was I had seen the DVDs. I knew what I was in store for. Before, I didn't. So it really killed me the first week. I went up there yesterday with this vision and this focus that I haven't had because I knew it was coming. And I killed it yesterday. My arms, after I was done, were shaking. I was like, go, go, go, go. And I almost threw up. So I knew it was a good workout. Wow, I need to get that. It's hardcore. It's going to take me a while. I know. It's a bummer. After my surgery and all that. Mikey and I were talking about it. Yeah, I just have to take a long time.
He wants to get back in the gym. I could never do that. Get back in the gym. You were working out almost every day. Yeah, I was, you know, and I was, but I have to have surgery so I can't work out. And anyway, I'll get back to it. Can't eat anything today or drink anything until I have my upper GI later in the day. What a bummer. Sienna has, now, if you have not been to Whole Foods, if you're listening right now, you've not been to Whole Foods. I'm missing out. Well, A, you're missing out, and B, like, just take a day off. I went in there, and it was, like, the greatest thing I ever found. No! It's awesome. It's great. It's so overwhelming, you guys. In the best possible way.
I attempted for the second time in my life yesterday. First time I walked in and walked right out because I didn't know what to do. Second time yesterday, I walk in with a mission. I'm going to get some healthy stuff. Lauren was talking about 72% cocoa chocolate bars. And I was like, oh, why not? I should do that. You know, it's healthier chocolate and I crave it. So I walk in there and I can't do it, man. Everyone's staring at me thinking, what are you doing here? Everyone was. I'm convinced of it. And I'm like, I'm just trying to do some shopping. Please, please don't leave me alone. And there was one area, look, I brought it in, where they have like chocolate-covered pretzels and stuff, and you put them in a bag yourself from like these containers. There's nuts over there and berries and all that stuff they have. I didn't know you had to write a number down. I just see a scale there. I'm like, okay, do I weigh it? Do I just go to the register? I don't know what to do. So I threw in a few things in my bag. In one bag. And I waited. You need a tour guide. I need a teacher. Don't go in there alone for the first time. That's for sure. So I wrote down how much it weighed. And I went up there and I was like, I'm sorry. I don't know what I'm doing. There's people waiting. And then when I got up there, they're like, you just write down the bin number. And I'm like, well, I definitely didn't do that. And she says, are these just chocolate pretzels? And I was like.
Yes. Even though there was a few other things in there. You guys, it was awful. You know what they need? It was awful. When you walk in that joint, they should have something that says, have you ever been here? And if you haven't, they should have a personal shopper that goes, here's how you do this. Because how else are you supposed to know? There's a lot of places where I feel like. okay, this place is like a well-oiled machine and everybody seems to know what they're doing except for me. So you have to, like, I walk out because I'm like, forget it. I'm not kidding. People were looking at me like, you don't know what you're doing. Yeah. The only reason I am... So excited to tell people about it is because the food that they sell there tastes real good. It does. It's voted like the best lunch place in San Diego. Freaking good, man. They have pre-prepared dinners like turkey meatloaf with green beans and mashed potatoes. Amazing. I got one of those. Did you? Amazing. I didn't need it. It's off to five. Nobel? Is that the exit? Yeah, Nobel. Nobel exit off to five. Whole Foods. I discovered it last year and I called my wife on the way home and said,
I think I just found Disneyland here in San Diego. And they're building one in North County. It's pretty good. They are? Woodsy mentioned, you may have heard Woodsy mention Des Bryant yesterday. Rookie for the Cowboys. He's the only rookie to have signed from the first round this year. He's the first guy to sign, the only guy to sign from the first round. Plays for the Cowboys. And Woodsy was telling you about how one of the rites of initiation. for a rookie especially the first round draft pick the big guy is that they go through a little hazing and it's it's like it's very simple like it's no big deal it's harmless it's like a big fraternity it's a big fraternity and they do it for everybody you know they always got to do something well the deal with des bryant was that des bryant was supposed to carry roy williams shoulder pads from practice yep He refused. He said, I'm not here to carry pads. I'm here to play football. Shocking. Right. Now. Shocking? Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Don't even start. Because what's starting right now, I want to hear. Okay? And I want everybody, anyone willing to call up and talk about it and give me your opinion. I want to hear your opinion. We're going to talk about it. In fact, if you want to line up now, you can. Because I do want to hear what your thoughts are on that very thing.
Is Des Bryant a punk or is Des Bryant fully, you know, well, we know this. It's a fact he's within his right to not do it. So I guess that's not the question. The question is, is he a punk or is he not a punk? That's the question. I think it comes down to that. Punk or not a punk? 570-1949 because he did not want to carry a veteran's shoulder pads out from practice. What about this? Vuvuzela? That did sound like a Vuvuzela. They had some in the house last night at Tropicana Field. Dude, I'll tell you. This is the fifth no-hitter this year. Not since 1991 have they had so many. This is the year of the pitcher. Matt Garza for the Tampa Bay Rays went out last night and fired a no-hitter against the Tigers. Dominant. Just a dominant performance, man. He got in a little trouble. He had a couple of really nice plays behind him. Of course, you know, one of the M1s said, let me know, hey, Garza's about to throw a no hitter. Find it. Found it on the TV. Watched the last couple outs. Heart racing. And, dude, I'm a Yankee fan, and the Rays are right behind us, and I'm cheering for the guy. I'm clapping for the guy because it is so cool when that happens, man. There is nothing like it. And he's the first double Ray to ever do it. You know, there are two teams in Major League Baseball that have not thrown a no hitter. Do you know who they are? Would anybody like to take a guess? Pirates.
Nope, they have. The Angels? Nope, they have. White Sox? Nope, they have too. Swing game. Tigers? Nope. Padres and the Mets. Really? Yeah. Two teams left that have never had a no-hitter. Sorry to disappoint, but at any rate, Matt Garza didn't even realize he had a no-hitter until the ninth inning. Here's cut two. I just knew I had one guy on base because I'd walked him, and I was upset about that. I was like, man, I walked this guy, so okay, and just moved on. And I knew there wasn't people on, but I didn't look up. I was just looking at my pitch. I was like, okay, I got 100 this inning. Let's keep going. Let's keep laying it out. Let's keep laying it out. And the ninth inning, I roll out, and I look up. I go, crap. Yeah, looks up and goes, oh, wow. That's profound. I've got a no-hitter going. Pretty awesome. It's pretty cool, man. And we are going to get to, like we said, that Des Bryant story. We want to talk about that, get your opinions on it, because it's already polarizing the studio here. Yeah. Call in 570-1949. Is Des Bryant a punk or not? Absolutely. And the San Diego Chargers opened practice yesterday. They had a good practice. Here's Phillip Rivers. Somebody had asked him, is it going to hurt Ryan Matthews to not be here this week? Cut three. Or is it a detriment?
No, I mean, you know, I think you kind of cross that bridge if and when it gets here. I mean, I, you know, I mean, every rep's important, you know. So, you know, these next couple days, I don't see him really hurting him at all. Translation. Yeah, it's going to hurt him, and he should be here. I just don't want to say it because I'm the leader of the team. Oh, absolutely. Such a tough question. But, you know, Phillip was very diplomatic. And, you know, hey, but Phillip Rivers was a holdout himself and wasn't there the first day either. It freaks me out, dude. I want them in there. I know. I do, too. And he kept saying that during some of the other audio that I listened to, he kept saying that Friday. Friday was like this. big day like maybe he knows something we don't know and he's like friday it's gonna be all good we're gonna be without basically one or two people friday's gonna be good friday's gonna be good so hopefully this week aj and ryan are hammering out a deal be great and uh give up yeah it's it's pretty crazy man it's like you know it's like if you called me for this gig and i was right
I'll be there when I get there, pal. How do you think about that? I mean, I know that they have to protect themselves and make sure they know what they're getting into, but it's like when you're a little kid playing football and you dream of being a pro one day, when that opportunity comes, you don't think that you pull a holdout, you know? Yeah, and I understand wanting to get the best for yourself and all that stuff. I get it. I get it. It just comes down to, hey, listen, what are we talking here? Are we talking? a real giant divide between what you want and what the Chargers are offering? I don't know. Well, you know the problem, man, to be honest with you, is Sam Bradford is the problem. The number one pick in the draft is the problem. He hasn't signed. So what everybody does, they wait for him to sign and then see what the market's going to dictate. So if Sam Bradford would frigging sign, then 30 other guys would probably sign as soon as possible. So that's really the holdup. But North Turner was talking about, you know, this week and how important it is and working with the young guys cut for. Well, it's nice to get back on the field. You know, we have these four days with our young guys and then some of the guys that missed a substantial bit of our offseason. And this group of guys we practice with today are important to us. This young group of guys, you know, we're counting on them to come in and play roles, contribute, whether it be on special teams, whether it be special situations, or even some of these young guys could end up in starting roles. So getting them off to a good start is important to me.
Absolutely. And just a little bit more Charger news for you. Individual tickets for the Chargers' eight home games are on sale 10 a.m. this Saturday. Nice. They'll be playing at home. I'm going to give you the lineup of who they're going to be playing at home. There's some big ones coming. There's some big games. The Jags, the Cardinals, the Patriots, the Titans. The Broncos, Raiders, Chiefs, and Niner. That's great. It's going to be awesome. And then the first practice that's going to be open to the public will be August 1st from 4 to 6. That's so cool. It's back, man. Charge of season zero. It feels good. Right around the Kona. So here we go. Terrell Owens has an offer in his hand from an NFL team. Who might that be? The Raiders. No, the Cincinnati Bengals. Really? They have made him an offer. Apparently, he's been working out with Carson Palmer, and Carson's like, Guy's money. He told Marvin Lewis, hey, get this guy signed. He's going to be on one side, Ocho Cinco on the other. How do you have him? Those two clowns in the locker room together. I would love to hear Ocho Cinco's take on that. He's excited. Really? He's super excited. It's a reality show. It is. I will want to watch every Bengals game next year. There's going to be some serious nonsense going on. Oh, absolutely. Oh, my gosh. I mean, egos for sure. Well, that's a deal.
Terrell Owens, are you cool with being number two? Because you're not the number one receiver here. Not at all. You're not? In fact, are you the number two receiver here? I don't think so. What's his number, 81? Yeah. What if he changes his name to Ocho Uno? Ocho Uno? That's funny. And then finally, Lane Kiffin, the head coach of USC, is off to a really great start. They're now being sued by the Tennessee Titans. Apparently, Lane poached the running backs coach from the Titans. to be the offensive coordinator for the Trojans, and the Tennessee Titans have filed a lawsuit against Lane and USC. So, great work, pal. That's what's on sports. Mike, are you a USC fan? Yes, he is, and proud of it. Yes, I am. I'm sorry for you. You know who doesn't get sued? Just be proud, Mike. I'm the guy that follows the rules. Things happen sometimes. Don't give up on your team. Sorry, we'll talk about them in three years when they're relevant again. Oh! Don't take that. Dagger. Don't take that. It's too easy. Well, he's right. Yeah. And who doesn't get in trouble. Yeah, you know who doesn't get in trouble? When you're right, you're right. You know who doesn't have to give their Heisman back? You know what? Notre Dame kiss. Don't get in trouble for drinking. They did. They got in trouble. What happened to them? Their coach said they're going to be on a very short leash. Yeah, because you didn't tell us about it. I did, too.
Let's drag out of here. Did you? Okay, Des Bryant. Now, first of all, Des Bryant was controversial before he ever got signed. I don't know if you know that. Before he was ever drafted by the Cowboys, he was being looked into because they thought that maybe he was in with some shenanigans with an agent, right? He's got some character, and he has some character issues, man. He was in a little trouble in college as well, and, you know, there's all kinds of stuff that came out about him, but, you know, the... One of the home for wayward souls has always been the Dallas Cowboys. And, hey, sometimes it's worked in their favor and sometimes it hasn't. Yeah. But this guy on the field is supposed to be electric. Yeah. Electric. Well, he's a rookie. He's the first guy to sign in the first round. And as often happens in the NFL, they will do a rite of passage initiation, blah, blah, blah. And what they decided they were going to do is that Des was going to carry Roy Williams shoulder pads off the practice field into the locker room. Now, listen, some of the just to give you an idea, some of the other kinds of pranks or whatever that they do or the hazing initiation. Sometimes they'll take the guys, the rookies, and they will take the.
medical tape that they use to tape themselves up, and they'll tape them to the goalpost. Okay, like that'll be one of their pranks. Is that what this is? Some sort of a hazing? Yeah, it's hazing. That's why he's the one that's been asked to do it. Yeah, because he's a rookie. Because he's a rookie. They call him the bonus baby. And those guys get the big signing bonus, and they're the new hot stud on campus. Yeah, like here's what they did with Merriman. When Merriman was drafted, they all went out to Pamplemousse for dinner. And they gave him a $45,000 bill at the end of the night. And that was his initiation slash hazing. Okay. All right. It's a little steep. It's pretty steep, you know. So Des Bryant says, I'm not going to do it. And he says, I didn't come here to carry shoulder pads. I came here to play football. And he also said, Mike, this is the same as if they signed me as a free agent. They wouldn't expect a free agent to come in here and carry Roy's shoulder pads. So why should I? Because you're not a free agent. You're a rookie. And the rite of passage for rookies is to do this. Now, here's my deal with it. You have now drawn the attention of the United States of America. Really, you've drawn the attention of the world because the Cowboys aren't just big in America. They're big all over the world.
You've really drawn a lot of attention to yourself for not wanting to carry a guy's shoulder pads in. So and you've also cemented in the minds of your teammates, the rookies who are the veterans who have all done it themselves. You've also cemented into their mind that when it comes to being a team player, you definitely are a rogue wave. You're definitely a guy that is, you know, independent thinker and does his own thing. And you've also told your teammates you're a punk. That's what you've told your teammates. I mean, the very definition, in my opinion, of being on a team is that you play with the team. You don't decide that you're going to do your thing. You can decide that. But one of the consequences of deciding that is that you're probably not going to be very well liked by the team. If that's what you decide and that's what you want, that's great. To his defense, he is the first guy on the field and the last guy to leave. Absolutely. That's what they say. He's the first guy on the field and last guy to leave. And as long as he's scoring touchdowns, it probably really won't matter. But here's what I bet about our boy Des Bryant. I bet he is also the type that will have his feelings hurt when people don't like him.
And that's part of what goes into the decision making, my opinion. But I want to ask M1s, 570-1949. Is he a punk or is he not a punk? Now, we got differing opinions right here in this studio. And we'll hear them. And we'll talk to you about it when we come back. 570-1949. Is Des Bryant a punk because he didn't want to carry those shoulder pads off the field? Or is he not paid to be there to be carrying any shoulder pads? If he don't want to do that, he don't have to do that. And it's stupid that he had to. Call us and tell us. 570-1949. country song in the United States of America is from a band that I've never heard of called Sugar Land. I've never heard of Sugar Land? Jennifer Nettles. Wow, Sienna. That's good. You know that. Is it Sugar or Sugar? Sugar Land. Sugar Land. I like to say Sugar Land. Sugar Land? Sugar Land. Sugar Land. That's what they call it in Texas. There you go. Sugar Land. Sugar Land. Welcome back. It's a Mikey show. Don't fret. 7.30 this morning, you're going to be finding out what it was that Woods and Jay got into their argument about. And you will be a jury and get to decide what it is, who it is that was right and who was wrong in that. So Des Bryant, is he a punk or is he not? Yeah, let's hear this, L.O.B. What is your take on Des Bryant? He didn't carry, he's a rookie, and the rookies are supposed to, you know, do this act of initiation, kind of a hazing thing.
And the deal was carry veteran Roy Williams shoulder pads off the field. He says, no, I didn't come here to carry shoulder pads. I came here to play football. Yeah, I mean, I don't think it makes him a punk to not do it. I don't think it also is like no big deal. I don't know. I just think that. If there was other things that he could do, if there was some sort of tradition that everybody always did, but it seems like an arbitrary, like, hey, Rook, here it is. That is the tradition, though. To just randomly tell them to do something? Yeah, it's different. It's always different. On a football team, you have your defense usually hang together, your O-line hang together, your wide receivers hang together. And so Roy Williams is a wide receiver, and he's like, hey, kid, grab my pads. Yeah, it's just kind of condescending and stupid. Is this for, like, the whole season? Is this for, like, a month? It's usually during training camp. So let me ask you, LOB. Yeah. What would you do? You know the answer to that, Mike. You would do it.
No. You would not do it. Oh, come on. No, I probably would. Just not to cause a fuss. I probably would, but I'd be like, this is so stupid. I think, like, I wasn't ever a big fan of fraternities and stuff like that. I'm like, really? With the hazing and everything? Yeah. I have an interesting take. Yeah? First of all, I think he's an absolute clown for not doing it. I think, you know what? You're going to put Michael Irvin's number out, and you're going to go out on that field, and you're going to... Be the Cowboys guy. He does have Michael Irvin's number, right? He sure does. And if you're going to wear the 88 in Dallas, you do as you're told for a while until you make a name for yourself. The guy's never caught a pass in the NFL. Roy Williams, as bad as he is, has been a productive receiver. You do as you're told for a while. A rookie is be seen and not heard. Now, what if we have two phone screeners that work for us, and they answer phones, but we send them to do other little stuff for us. Now, what if they were like, absolutely not. You pay me to answer phones. We'd be like, way to go team player. You know what I mean? Like that's kind of the way I look at it. Take one for the team. Devil's advocate with that? Yep. The difference is, is that these guys are the most like lauded of the group. I get it. In other words, they're the highest in demand dudes, you know, like they're the guys that are the best in college football. Right. It's not like, hey.
We're just a regular Joe off the street and you gave us this job. We applied and we got the job. But they're the new guy too. That's true. They're the new guy. People are people. I'm just all about equality and treating someone on the same level whether you're a pauper or you're a prince. What about the spirit in which it's meant? What is it, though? It's fun. Just push weight around. No, no. It's like that's mean. That's mean. That's the way I perceive it. Listen, if you're if your deal is that you want to push weight around and you just want that rookie to know that he's a turd. Yeah, that's mean. But that's not that kind of like it'd be one thing if everybody was like they tied him to the they taped him to the thing. And it's like, ah, sorry. You know, it's just kind of a rite of passage, dude. Right. To be like, hey, Rook. Carrying my shoulder pads. It's a rite of passage and it's a respect thing more than anything. And it's like... The teammates, though. He's not his boss. You've played team sports before. Yeah. So when I was a freshman baseball player, we had to pick up all the balls after practice. Now, if I was the D that was like, I'm not picking up balls. You guys brought me in here to get base hits and make plays. I'm a jerk.
Instantly, all the guys on the team would go, yeah, no problem. He's that guy. He's that guy. It's like, I mean, it's supposed to be a fun thing. This guy should have a sense of humor about it and just be like, yeah, whatever. I'll put in my due, serve my time, and then I'm done and I'll show you guys on the field. And then he gets to do it to somebody the next year. That's not fun for him, maybe. It's not, but it's not a big deal. Do it next year. It's something you should be able to laugh about. And you know why it is equal? The reason that it's equal is because those guys have done it. They did it. Yeah, maybe stop a stupid tradition. That's what Merriman said. Merriman didn't like the $45,000 bill. Well, that's way different. It wasn't real, though, was it? Oh, yeah, it was real. It was a real $45,000 check. Oh, wow. Oh, yeah. Imagine that if you're Merriman. You're making plenty of money. Come on now. We spend that on a weekend. Come on now. Yeah, he didn't like it. And he says that Merriman won't do it. He won't take part in the hazing. For me, I think of it like the spirit that it's meant. The spirit that it's meant is...
You know what? You're a rook. We all do it when we're rooks. Hey, listen, and if you don't want to do it to the rookies, you don't have to do it to the rookies. I don't think anybody would look upon a veteran that didn't want to take part in it to the rookies as a bad guy. Or as a softie. But let's see what people are saying. M1 Cowboy from Miramar, what do you think? Morning. I'm a Marine of a Miramar. I've been in for a little while. And we kind of have the same thing. But with the Dez Bryant situation, I think it was just his nice way of saying that. Roy Williams really hasn't even shown that he's a true veteran on the field. I mean, he played one good season with Detroit, and don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Cowboys fan, but I think it was the worst move they could have ever made. And until Roy Williams shows somebody that, you know, maybe he deserves to have his pads carried, I think that Brian should have been Tony Romo or one of the better players on the team that's actually done production and given them some results on the field, then I could understand it. But Roy Williams, I don't think he's...
to be telling people to carry it. Woods. Well, so you're telling me, Cowboy, that if Miles Austin had said, hey, Rook, grab my pads, he would have said, okay, no problem. It would have been better because Miles Austin has shown, and here he actually had a chance, he's shown that he can do something on the field. I get that. I get that. But what do you think would have happened if Miles, instead of Roy, said, hey, kid, grab my pads? Do you think, I guarantee you, Bryant, would have said the same exact thing. I went to Oklahoma, and I walked down there because I went to Jordan Shipley, went to high school together. Oh, nice. I've met Des Bryant. He's a nice guy. And I honestly don't think that if Miles Austin would have said that.
He would have said no. Oh, wow. Come on. Was Roy Williams, did he get hazed before? Oh, yeah. So why is he not able to do hazing as well? Because he wasn't as productive. No, but that's ridiculous. If he did it, he can absolutely do it to someone else. Of course. Of course. Cowboy, you're making it out of a... You're making the hazing conditional upon, well, how good of a player are you? Right. And that's not the case. If you're a good player, you can haze me. Yeah. He put in his dues. Oh, really? That's no, that's BS. That's BS. You're talking to quality and then you're going to play that card. I'm just saying if it's going to be done, it's like, oh, yeah. Really? Really big-timer? You big-time me? Well, you may think that. You may think it. And he may look at Roy Williams and say, hey, pal, I'm going to take your freaking job this year, but I'm going to do this because it's what I'm supposed to do. Yeah. That's great. I mean, and what if you said that in a playful way? Yeah. You know, what if you go, yeah, no problem, bro. I got no problems carrying your shoulder pads. By the way.
I'm going to have your job by the end of training camp. Absolutely, man. Get back at him on the field. That's rad. You know, I mean, come on. Be seen and not heard if you're an NFL rookie. Sure. I would haze the crap out of someone. Really? It's fun. You guys, you guys, it's like anything, and if anybody's ever worked in an office environment, same thing. The new guy that comes in and he's piping up all these great ideas, you're like. Hey, pal, get some skins on the wall before you go running mouth. Really? You don't want to have new ideas? New ideas are good. What? Get some skins on the wall before you start running mouth. How about this, Woods? Instead of the idea thing, what I think it would be more akin to is somebody coming into the office and they suddenly go, hey, hey, hey, coffee maker should probably go over there. That's what I'm talking about when I say ideas. But, like, just running off at the mouth. Right. It's like, hey, pal, you see all those pelts on the wall? That's your boy here for three years knocking it out of the park. But you brought him on board for a reason because you want him to be an asset to the team. Because I'm going to train him the right way to do that. And what we're talking about right now has kind of a serious vibe to it. Whereas this, this stuff is meant to be fun. Yeah. And a rite of passage. It's a team tradition that everyone goes through. What makes him any better than anyone else? M1 John from Chula Vista.
Yeah, we just – hey, morning, Mike. Long-time listener, buddy. Thank you. Hey, you know, he's a punk for sure. I mean, the Marine was talking about it a while ago, but I'm a retired chief from the Navy. We went through in the Navy. We used to send our junior sailors around and look for 50 feet of fallopian tubes. I mean, you know, just things like that. It's a rite of passage. And like I said earlier, when I first got on the line, we pumped these guys up so big they think they're stars already. They think they're heroes already, and they're heroes. Earn your stripes, man. Have the respect for the veterans. Earn your stripes. Once, twice, maybe three times you'll carry the pads. So what? You'll get into the routine of football, and then you'll be reminding things. But he's a plunk for sure. Yeah, and just to continue that thought, I think it's probably a good idea to just, in general, just in life, it's probably better to take a humble attitude than a proud attitude. Absolutely. I just think in general and in life. M1 Nick from Lakeside. Are you there, Nick? Yeah, man. Go ahead. And then next week when the entire roster is there, after practice, tie him down to the old table and everybody teabag him. Can you imagine? Oh, my gosh. Can you imagine?
Holy cow. That may be a little harsh. That may be a little harsh. A little bit harsh. See, now, I may have a problem if it did that. I would have a serious problem with that. And for those of you that don't know, you can find out. Yeah, you'll do that. What that is. That's a brilliant call. That is so great. M1 Pat from Alpine. Hey, guys. I love your show. Thank you. This guy is a doofus because in two or three years, when he's now not a rookie anymore, he's going to want the incoming guys, he's going to be messing with them. You know, good darn well he's going to do it. So get off his little high horse, get a little icy hot in his jockstrap, and just shut the heck up and keep on going. Thank you, Pat. M1 Steve-O from Mira Mesa. Hey, Mikey Shaw. Love you guys. Thank you. Three words a bunch of people have mentioned that I said to the call screener. Rite of passage. From youth baseball all the way up to when I played with the Fort Lauderdale Yankees. Every step of the way, something like this goes down. It's not meant to hurt anybody. Buck up. Quit being a baby. He's just an ass clown, this guy. Thank you, brother.
You know, honestly, it does kind of scream something else to me. It screams to me a certain mentality. Now, I'm guessing because I don't know. I don't know Des Bryant. So how do I? I don't know. But this is what it screams to me. Are you kidding? I went to Oklahoma State and I was a star there. Do you know who I am? I'm a star. Yeah. Do you know that everybody at all I have to do is walk on campus at Oklahoma State and. Everybody knows who I am. Not only do they know who I am, they appreciate me. You know why? Because I put touchdowns on the scoreboard. I am a badass. Maybe you're reading into it. Maybe I am. Hey, maybe I am. But is it a leap to think that if, maybe I'm wrong, but let's say that that is his thinking. Is it a leap to think that a guy that thinks that way would go, Karen, your shoulder pads, I can't even score touchdowns. Because that's exactly what he said. That's exactly what he said. Is it a leap to think that maybe that's what that is born of? He's like, you guys are lucky to have me. You know, like that kind of deal. I don't think so. You never played in the NFL. Okay, well then is it this? Is it this? Maybe I'm wrong. And maybe that's not the attitude. In fact, maybe this was his attitude at Oklahoma State. I'm just lucky to be here. You know what? Honestly?
Honestly, I'm lucky to be here. And you know what else I'm lucky? I'm lucky I even have the talent that I was given. And I came to this school. I was very fortunate to be a part of a great winning program and even contribute to it. And it ain't about me. It's about this football team at Oklahoma State. And I'm lucky to be here. Does that sound consistent with the guy that goes, I ain't carrying your shoulder pads? I didn't come here to carry your shoulder pads. I came here to score touchdowns. Maybe I'm wrong. So if I'm wrong, which one of those scenarios sounds more consistent with the facts? Scenario A, Mike. To me, it does. But honestly, I could be wrong about it. It could be somewhere in the middle. I mean, and you've got to hand it to him. If he is the first guy on the field, the last guy to leave, I mean, he wants to be there. He's working hard. Got to give him that. But it's like, man, you're on a team. You have to be a team player. This is part of being on that team. For sure. 570-1949. Phone lines blowing up. Yeah, they are. So if you're calling right now, you're going to get a busy signal. M1 Skyler from San Diego. What's up, Mike? What's up, everybody? What's up? Hey, I just got to say, man, he's making a huge mistake right now. You know, I played football in high school. I was in the Marine Corps. I had to do the same stuff, man.
camaraderie. It's about breaking him down and building him up, man. They're making him do things. He's going to be part of the team, you know? Well, and here's the other thing. I don't know if anybody remembers the name Ryan Leaf. I don't know if anybody remembers the name Ryan Leaf. But when Ryan came to the San Diego Chargers, he felt like Des Bryant. And he didn't really like the hazing. He wasn't down with the hazing, and he let it be known. There was another player here. His name was Junior Seau. You may remember Junior Seau. Pretty good player. Pretty good player. We're number 55. They had some contact drills together. And Junior let Ryan know how he felt about it during one of their contact drills. And, you know, so that's all I'm saying. Yeah, there was a guy that played here, Matt Bush. He played for the Padres. Yeah. And he was actually arrested one time, and he's screaming at the cops, you know who I am? I'm Matt effing Bush. I am Matt effing Bush. Is he said that? And it's on video, and he's screaming and crying, and Matt Bush was the number one draft pick over all these studs that they could have taken. And, you know, it's just that attitude of, like, when you start with a new team.
You didn't come in here, LLB, when you started with this new team. You didn't come in here making waves. You came in and did what you were told. You know why? Because you're new, and we don't know what we're doing. And that's kind of the deal. And for him to get all upset about it is ridiculous. And I think the best thing he could do, you grab those freaking shoulder pads. But did he get all upset? Oh, yeah. Who broke this story? I don't know. You know? Well, it was reporters that were there. Yeah. You know, reporters were all there watching the practice, practice ends, and they saw this going down. It's crazy. What, L.O.B.? Sniffing around for a story real sweetly. It's a good one, though. It's a good story. It's a good one. That's a pretty decent. You're welcome. You are welcome. This is my sophomore year in high school. We have a woman on the phone right now that is, if I understand correctly what I'm reading, is probably going to get some people upset and probably going to get some people on her side. And we're also going to find out about Woodsy, and we're going to find out about Jay and what they got into. I didn't see it. Sienna and Lauren saw it. It was a sight. And we're going to let M1s decide who was right, who was wrong. It's coming up next.

Once again, looking at very weak and bleak conditions out there, surf has dropped down even further, one to two foot or so at best, out of some weak remnant west-northwest windswell and a trace of old southwest out there at the same time, too. 570-1949 is our phone number if you want to give us a call. Sienna, what's going on in the news? Man, have you guys heard about this whistleblower website, wikileaks.org, and everything that's going on? Okay, well, thousands of U.S. military reports were leaked by this website, and they reveal potentially damaging secrets about the war in Afghanistan. Just a few examples. They're saying one of the biggest revelations is that Pakistani intelligence agents are helping the Taliban attack U.S. and NATO troops. Some more of the reports talk about efforts by Pakistani agents to run networks of suicide bombers. In Afghanistan and other documents say U.S.-led coalition troops have killed hundreds of Afghan civilians in unreported incidents. So it sounds like they're reporting both sides of the. They are. But I mean, one of the big things is, is, you know, these are reports from guys in the military in Afghanistan saying that they, you know.
civilians in Afghanistan have been killed and they're not reporting it, which is pretty crazy. So right now the Obama administration is scrambling to fix any of the potential damage to the Afghan war effort right now. So this is a pretty big story. And here in San Diego, kind of a more lighthearted story, a dog been missing for five years. You know, I love my dog stories. His name is Mikey Brown. The dog? Mikey Brown. How ironic. I'm Mikey and I'm Brown. Well, he disappeared over five years ago while he was hanging out at his owner, Alex's garage door business in Claremont and went missing. He didn't have his collar on at the time that he went missing. So someone probably found him and thought he was just a lost dog. And then the person who found him just passed away. It was an older woman. And I guess he had one of the tags. Chips. Chips. Yeah. And so once this woman passed away, they chipped the dog to just see, you know, who may belong to, who may belong to. Found the owner. And I guess the little kids of this dog, the original owners, the kids were dreaming every night. Like, Dad, the dog's still alive. I know he's here. He's close. I can feel it. Little kids having these dreams. And the dog was less than a mile away the whole time.
Get out of here. I thought that was so cute. How long had he been gone? Over five years. And the owner said his kids were dreaming constantly that the dog's still around. What a great story. I know. My heart just swole. What? Swole? Swole. It swelled. It swelled. What did it do? Got swollen. It got swollen? That was my touchy girl story for the day. Woodsy, what's going on in sports? Oh, there's quite a bit going on in sports, my man. The Padres take on the... Dodgers tonight, which is just a huge, huge matchup. Chad Billingsley against John Garland at 7.05 at Petco. Get out there, support your bunch tonight. Maurice Claret, you remember that name? Got in trouble. Got in trouble. A lot of trouble. Used to play at Ohio State. Great football player, running back. Had to do three and a half years in jail for a multitude of charges. He is now out of jail and has re-enrolled at Ohio State to get his degree, which is a pretty good thing. And also, Des Bryant is a clown. That's right. Well, let's do this then. We have pieces of evidence being put into court. Yes, sir. We have exhibit A. We have all kinds of stuff. We have witnesses. I was not a witness. So I'm going to play judge. Let's clear the phone lines. Clear the phone lines, Austin. And we will let M1s, after you have heard the entire case, you'll decide.
I'm nervous. We promoted this throughout the day here on FM 94.9. Yesterday, if you were listening to the station, you heard us talking about how we would be discussing this this morning at 7.30. Apparently, Woodsy and Jay got into it. It happened in our office after the show, and it happened while Woods was laying on the couch talking to his wife on the phone. Sienna and Lauren were in the office at the time. Jay walked into the office and initiated. said argument. Now, Jay has requested to go first, which we will allow. And Jay? Yes, right off the bat, Honor, I'd like to submit evidence on my Facebook page, Exhibit A, B, and C. Okay, let me see. If you go to... I've linked it off the Mikey Show Facebook page. Oh, so you can go to the Mikey Show. What it is, is it's three pictures of a...
Pretty large size bin that Jay carries for Mikey every morning. It says, see the evidence on my site. Yes. And so if you click on Jay's name, it'll take you to three pictures. And what you see there is a big giant bin, okay? It's a big plastic bin that you could buy at Target. Like one of those ones that would slide under your bed. Exactly. Long, flat. Yes. Yeah. And what Jay keeps in it are the following items. It's an assortment. He keeps my microphone that I use. He keeps my headphones. He keeps a power cord for my, an extra power cord for my laptop. He keeps a wireless keyboard for my laptop. And various medications. Claritin. He keeps, there's some throat drops in there. Vuvuzela. Vuvuzela. Is there a mini scepter in there? A little mini scepter because I'm a king. And my cloaks. So all the items that I would use on a daily basis are in this bin. Yes. And I carry this bin back and forth each day. Every morning, Jay takes the bin from the office and brings it into the studio. When we get off the air, he takes it from the studio, packs it up, brings it back to the office. All right. So, Jay, you are up first to make your case. So I'm going to just go over the way it came down. So at the end of the show. In your opinion, Your Honor.
I was here for, I was in the studio to see even before. Me too. Jay stormed into the office. Yes. No, I was not. End of the show happens, and I go about my normal daily duties of breaking down the studio. I break it down, clean it up. Lauren and Sienna help clean it up. And get everything broken down, get the case ready, everything. You know, putting everything away, my computer, all the stuff I have, I look in the case and there's all of a sudden there's two sets of headphones in the case. And I'm like, gosh, weird. You know, one of these is not Mikey's. Somebody must have thrown in an extra set of studio headphones. I'm like, wow, that's weird. You know, and I kind of look at them and I pull them out and look at them. I'm like, God, could it be? For the record right now, Woods is pacing back and forth in the studio. I'm like, could this be Woods? Did Woods throw his stuff in here? And a bag of headphones, so you can compare, like, the size. It's like a size of 99-cent bag of chips. Oh, I'll get there. I'll get there. I'll get there. All right. I'll get there. That's perfect, and that is... 99-cent bag. You can look at Exhibit A. It's thick, you know. You can look at Exhibit A on my Facebook page, and you can see the headphones. It's the black bag that is in the top left picture. Yeah, we'll get there. We'll get there. I'm just, hey, it's my turn, sir. Okay. Sir. Your Honor. So...
And I'm like, wow, this is weird. And if you look at the picture number two, Exhibit B, you'll see that the case, this is without Woods' headphones in there, already doesn't close. This case overflows already. There's so many things in there, the lid won't close. And then if you look at Exhibit C, you will see all the things that I already carry each day. I have a backpack with a computer in it. I have a lunch kit that I bring my lunch because I don't have a lot of time to get in and out of the studio. And then the case. So I immediately walk back to our office and to find Woods laying on the couch, chatting up with his wife. Feet up on the cushions. The same place that I have now carried all the equipment, same place he was already going. And I set it all down. I say, Woods, are these yours? He's like, yeah, I'm going to start leaving them in there each day. Well, that's news to me who has to carry this stuff back and forth. And it's weird because. You're already where I'm going. So could your headphones have not gone along with you? Could you have not carried this small little, you know, 99 cent chip size bag with you? I don't know. I would think maybe you could. Okay. Now, do you have any more? Do you have any more? All I was saying in closing is I may have acted inappropriate with some of my outbursts and some of the gestures that I threw.
Because I may have acted like a trained seal offering to say, hey, is there anything else I can do for you, sir, while I'm on my knees? Right. And. Pretty classic. Yes, I carry the king's robes and scepters and all the rest of his gear back and forth every day. But I'm not bringing the jesters, the court jesters stuff. He has to carry his own stuff. Not unlike if you're going to war, you have to bring your own duffel bag. There's all kinds of cases where if I'm golfing out on the course, if I'm the king's caddy, you come over and you try to put your clubs in his golf bag, it doesn't work. There's only one king. Well played case. Wow. Absolutely. Give me a favor. We will now hear from the defendant. You're a pregnant woman. Hold these for me. Oh, my gosh. In your estimation. His unplugged headphones. In your estimation, what would you say the weight of those are? In your estimation. A pound? Maybe less than. I'll pass that. Mikey, how much would that weigh to you, my friend? Well, you know, I can actually tell you because we have to fill our baby's bottles up, and it goes by ounce. Okay. And I would say that this is about the same weight as a three-quarter filled can of Coca-Cola. Okay. So I'd say 12 ounces. 12 ounces. Okay, 12 ounces. Now.
I realize that. Could be as high as 16 ounces. Okay. Now, I realize that Mr. Isbell is the eldest member of the Mikey Show. And while I did take that into consideration, Mikey, you do a show every day here on 94.9. What time does your show start? It starts at 6 a.m. What time does your show end? 10 a.m. Who follows you? You mean on the air? On the air. Who follows you? Hillary does. Hillary does. What time does her shift start? 10 a.m. 10.05? No, usually. 958? No, no. It usually starts at 10 a.m. 10 a.m. Okay. Has there ever been a problem in the studio with people lingering into her shift? Yes, there actually has. So when her shift is supposed to start at 10 and it gets off at 10.06, that's probably not a good thing. Would you agree? No. As a matter of fact, I think that it's a generally good protocol to clear the studio as a matter of, you know, practicality for the next jock coming on to be able to set their stuff up and get rolling. Judges is hearsay. Not at all. Hillary's not here to... That is true. Hillary's not on trial. Hillary's not on trial. That is true. You're stating something that she's not...
not here to to confirm or deny hillary's not on trial that is true as a matter of as a matter how long do you have in the business sir 23 years 20 that's a long time yes that's a long time yes that's a long time yes so what it would be fair to say that you probably know what you're doing right well not i wouldn't say that anybody can ever know completely but it's always a learning process but uh but but i i have a certain handle on the things that i do know do you recall a time when when When are the facts going to start coming? I don't need anything for the peanut gallery. Do you remember a time when the defendant, myself, had a short in one of his pairs of headphones? Do you remember that? Yes, I do. Okay. Do you remember that he took them off in a fit of rage and slammed them on the ground? Yes, I do. And then he threw them into the garbage can? Yes. Okay. These are bulky. These headphones are bulky. They take up a lot of space, and they're fragile. Yes. Right? Where do you keep your headphones, Mike? I keep them in a bag. Oh, in a bag. The bag they came in. A bag that looks like this. It's a little leather pouch. Like Sienna said, it's about the same size as a 99 cent bag of potato chips. Okay. So in my, what I thought was, you know, I've already lost one set of very expensive headphones. So I thought, you know what? These can go in the bin along with, what if I put it in an extra pen? Is that going to weigh Mr. Isbell down? Because I need a pen in the morning too.
My thoughts were, I can put this in there. I won't forget them. Have I ever forgotten my headphones? No. Yes, I have. Oh, wait, wait, wait. I have forgotten my headphones before. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I thought, you know what? I want to be on point every day when I get here. I'm going to leave them in the bin where they go. Where they go. In my haste, where Mikey keeps his, the host that's been doing this for 23 years. In my haste, I thought, you know what? If I put them here now, I won't leave them in my backpack and I won't forget them. I assume that the elderly, Mr. Isbell, could certainly handle 12 extra ounces added to his daily strenuous activity. Okay. May I cross-examine this witness? Wow. May I cross-examine? Absolutely. Mr. Woods, great points. Great points. So let me ask you a question. Do you think that it's the responsibility of Mr. Isbell to make up for your deficiency? Absolutely not. Okay. Do you think that it is Mr. Isbell's responsibility to carry your headphones? No, it is not. It is not his responsibility. Is it really going to hurt him, though? Yes. Is it going to hurt him? Your Honor, what if I had put a pen in there? Hang on. Is it the weight? If anger is hurt, sadness, and fear, I have to ask myself, which was Jay? Was Jay hurt, sad, or fearful?
My guess is he wasn't afraid of anything, except that he might snap. My guess is that he was not sad about anything because he's, I don't know, headphones and things probably don't make anybody sad. But I can see how maybe it hurt him a bit to think that now he's the caddy for everybody instead of just me. Everybody or one other person's headphones? I get it. I understand. Now, I said yesterday, I can see both sides of the story. Now let me play. Devil's advocate for Woods. It is just a pair of headphones. I mean, and as Jay said, Jay put it great. Jay said, you're going there anyway, Woods. Maybe you carry your own headphones. The logic does kind of go both ways. I mean, you're going there. Maybe you put the headphones in there and it's no big deal. It is just a pair of headphones. My beef was the overreaction and the forcible raising of the voice and the anger. about a pair of headphones. I get it. And I acknowledge that. He acknowledged it. I get it. Not to me that day you didn't. Well, how about... And really not since. There's so many things that I could continue on with. Yeah. How about just... That's another day for... That's another day for... Just ask him. That's another day for M1 Court. I think we're focusing... We need to just focus on the issue, which is Woods thinking it's okay for him to put his headphones in there and Jay feeling it is not. Yeah, because I think that the two issues are these.
One is, eh, sounds to me like Woods is willing to concede. All right. I don't need to put my headphones in there. But what Woods' problem is, if he's going to file a countersuit is, maybe I don't get screamed at. 100%. Right? 100%. Now, he's already made amends for that because he said, and granted he said it today, but he did say, maybe I overreacted with that. Sorry, I overreacted. Right, Jay? Absolutely. Okay. Woods, are you willing to acknowledge? Because I think that that was a pretty good illustration that Jay gave with the whole caddy thing. Hey, listen, you can't put your clubs in my guy's bag because I carry his clubs. I'm not carrying your clubs. Would you agree with that? Absolutely. Okay. We may not even have anything to bring to the M1s then because it sounds like there's complete and total resolution to it. But... I have conceded that because I no longer put my headphones in the bin. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I conceded the next day. Yeah. So there's already resolution to it. But if I had to say, well, where did the foul come from? You know who doesn't get yelled at for putting this? Right? What's he? No. No? You know who doesn't overreact to something tiny? Somebody that's not a clown.
Somebody that's not a clown. What if Lauren and I put our headphones in there, too? Or in your backpack? It's your responsibility to carry your things. Here's the deal. I'm a team player. That's what I do. It's more about the name on the front of the jersey than the name on the back with the kid. And you know that. Hang on a second. I think that you may have issue with it, but you would go about it differently in saying it. You would. Of course. You would go about it differently. But I think it's fair that you would have issue with it. Are you saying that I've never taken one for the team? No, I'm not saying that. Because I've taken plenty for the team. Not only am I not saying that, I got to say, dude, in fairness to Woodsy, Woodsy is probably... one of the biggest team players I've ever observed. He is. This guy is a team player. He's working on that, Mikey, because he's doing the workout, so don't make fun of him. If you've asked me, if somebody has asked me to do something, or if somebody just assumed that I was going to do something, I did it. I've ordered sandwiches when I didn't have to. I've done all kinds of stuff when I didn't eat, and I don't, you know, hey, I'm not going to scream at you about it. Right.
You're going to make us feel a little bad for us? I'll make you feel a little bad, but I'm not going to scream at you. Yeah. I'm not going to raise my voices at you about it. Yeah. I get it. That was my issue. When I was sitting there on the phone, you know, talking to my beautiful wife and, you know, get screamed at. And my wife was on the phone. She goes, was he serious? She goes, was he dead serious? I go, he was dead serious. Hey, listen. He was, he's already admitted that was wrong. But what wasn't wrong, in my opinion, is having a beef about it. That, you know, there's no having. I've said this a million times. It's OK to feel however you want to feel. It's just not OK to rub that in somebody's face. Well, absolutely. Absolutely. So what you're saying then is from now on, then it's every man for himself. No, I think that's what it sounds like. OK, let me clarify. Because you asked a question. Is that what you're saying? No, it's not. And let me clarify. It is not every man for himself. It is still a team atmosphere. It is? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, okay. No, it is. It is. It's still a team atmosphere. It's just that whenever there's an issue with something, you know, you talk about it like ladies and gentlemen. Okay, so we'll just all do our own stuff. No, no, no. We still do stuff for the team. Ah, come on. Let's all do it. We'll just all do it. Can I ask Jay something?
If Woods would have said, hey, do you mind, I kind of screwed up my headphones once before or whatever, can I put these in the bin? Would you have been better with that than the presumptuous, hey, you're already going there anyway? We would have had a definite conversation about it then instead of me blowing up. You know what's interesting, Jay, is if you recall, that day I said, I think I'm going to start putting my headphones in here as to not forget them. No. What you said was, I'm going to start leaving my headphones here. Okay. In there. In the bin. Here. As a radio station. Which I'm all, there's headphones all over inside the studio. So you, wait, Woods, in your mind, it was clear that you were going to leave him in the bin. Yes, in my mind. In Jay's mind, it was clear that what you were saying was you're going to leave him here at the station. Maybe I'll hang him from the flagpole or something. The reality is you left him in the office the night before. No, I didn't. Yeah, you did. No, I didn't. Because you met me. You followed me in. I didn't leave him in the office, dude. You followed me off the elevator. You followed me off the elevator. You walked. through the front doors with me and you said, I got to get my headphones out of the office. I don't think so. I don't think so. 1,000 million billion percent, dude. Hang on. 1,000 million billion? 570. Think about it. I don't think so. 570-1949. 570-1949. Now, I have to ask before taking even one call, are we going to be able to do this? I don't think so. I don't either. I don't think so. Yeah, we could do this. Are you sure? Yeah. It's over. I carry my own headphones.
Jay's perfect. I'm not. I get it. Oh, really? Dude, I don't care. 5701949. That's a good bet. I think you cared a little bit. At the time, I was upset. Yeah. I was upset. I don't like being yelled at for ridiculous things. You want to yell at me, yell at me for something I did to deserve it. Senior Beans, your dog. Mm-hmm. He's probably mad at Jay. He's probably upset at Jay. And we'll probably hear about it when we come back. He's got some other stuff he wants to talk about and get off his chest. I don't blame him. I mean, listen. Woodsy's probably got him carrying him bags of dog food, stuff like that. Oh, my God. It's better than I thought. Let your voice be heard on The Mikey Show now. How about you take medicine all at once instead of... 12 different times. That's a totally good idea. I wish I would have thought of that. You're dehydrated and you're scared. I'm dehydrated, I'm dehydrated, and I'm scared. So you're finding every excuse. So I am finding every excuse. To drink liquids. To drink liquids. And specifically black coffee. Yeah. If you're going to get an upper GI later in the morning and you find yourself dehydrated. The best thing to do is take medicine. No. Swallow your saliva. Fake medicine. I need a vitamin. Because I'm not taking anything, but I'm pretending I am. And I'm drinking little bits of black coffee because I'm going crazy. I'm going crazy. You could be hurting yourself in the long run. I want somebody to tell me because they tell you. But is it okay just to take a little bit of coffee?
They would tell you that if it was. Here's the deal. I had elbow surgery and nose surgery in the same day. And they said, don't eat anything the night before. Kids feasted like a king. Yeah, feasted like a king. I woke up in the middle of the night and had Doritos. See, I'm not eating. I'm not eating. I'm not eating. And you should not eat. Do not do this at home. Do not do this. These are children we're dealing with. You don't want to tell people to eat. No, no, no. Nothing happened. It's a bit. But we don't want to tell people that they do it. You know why they do it? Why? They don't want to get vomited on. Without doing your surgery. You're not even going for surgery. You're going to be fine. Well, and you can choke on your vomit. Yeah. I wonder if that is it. Yeah, that's absolutely it. There are health risks. Health risks. Or else they would tell you, eat away. You're going to be okay. What is an upper GI? If you have a little water, you're going to be okay. Yesterday, I said, I go, I said to the lady on the phone, I go, by the way, what is an upper GI? And she goes like this. No way. Yeah, it was so funny. I was scared to death. Yeah, she started laughing. She goes. You don't know what an upper GI is? And I said, uh-uh. She goes, you're going to drink some barium tomorrow. That's all I know. I'm drinking barium. Are they going to stick something? I don't know. I don't know what it is. An upper gastrointestinal series is a radiological test that is used to visualize the structures of the upper digestive system. Yeah, that's what they're... It sounds like something you shouldn't be eating or drinking before. M1 Whoopi is on the line. Tell it whoops. And she is going to shed light on all of this.
I'm going to put you in a timeout chair and take you is what I'm going to do. Good. Needs it. You are getting an upper GI and they tell you do not drink after midnight because for the procedure you're going to have to take a little nastiness, a piece of nastiness called some barium so that they can read the scan as it goes down through the digestive system from your exosagus and see what's going on. It's delicious. Anything in you, liquid water, it's... Some people are very sensitive to the barium, and it makes them vomit and throw up, which is counterproductive to the test. Okay, question, Whoopi. Question, though. You're a 40-year-old man, Michael. Hang on. Hang on. Now, wait, wait, wait. Question, question. Now, I took barium last week. It was banana-flavored. Delicious. And it didn't bother me. I actually enjoyed it. I told my wife I didn't think it was bad. I enjoyed it. Let's get some of the stuff in the store. So, Whoop, am I going to be okay, or am I... kind of jacked. This is every test. You have to look at every test differently. You can't just assume, oh, I took this test last week. I'm not going to have a reaction. You have, and trust me, from a serial test person has to do all this stuff. One test works out fine. The next test is kicking your butt. Do not counteract what the physicians have told you to do, Michael. Fine. Fine. I'm surprised at you, Michael. You're on my lap.
Thank you, Woops. I'm not even going to get started with you. I will only have black coffee if I have to take medicine. I'm going to follow you around. Coffee has caffeine in it. You can't have these chemicals in your body when you're doing it. Okay, fine. I won't do it anymore. Thank you, Woopie. We love you. I'm surprised at you, Michael. You're usually a rule follower. I'm a rule breaker, so it's fine for me. You're a rule follower. M1 Oklahoma from El Cajon. Hi. What's going on, guys? Not too much. I'll tell you something else. When you go in to get the upper GI, they make you drink this stuff. It's almost like soda, so it bloats your stomach, and you're not allowed to burp. Well, that's the barium. Well, no. The barium is what you drink afterwards to make you see so they can see. the insides. So, basically, your stomach's bloated, you're not allowed to burp, and then they expect you to drink out of this giant straw about a gallon of barium phosphate, and then you try not to throw it all up or burp. Mike, are you ready for this? No. Yeah, that doesn't happen. People that don't drink. People that follow the rules. Follow the rules. Okay. Thank you. Pour his coffee out. I'm sure you'll be fine. I hope so. But, you know...
I hope I am. Pour his coffee out. There's a reason the doctors tell you things like this. It was just a tiny little bit. Just to take coffee. Just get rid of the cup. You don't even need to see a cup. Just to take coffee. All of us will hide our food and everything. If I have to take like a Tylenol, that's the only reason that I would. You don't need to take Tylenol. How many Tylenols you need this morning? You're okay. How many Claritins you had? How many fake ones? Are you faking? putting pills in your mouth? Just to make yourself feel better? I'm taking invisible. I'm taking invisible ones. You guys want to talk to Senior Beans? For sure. Papi, are you there? I'm here, buddy. How are you? I'm doing good, but I have a bone to pick with you. Oh, really? Yeah, I do. Stand in line, pal. I know you have not been very popular this morning. That's true. Hey, Papi, I have a question for you. You know who doesn't get yelled at by Jay when they bring in to the office? Who? Who doesn't? Yeah, who? Senor Papi. Senor Papi, exactly. That's why I apologized and said I learned my lesson. That was nice of you. Carry all my own stuff now and just really look out for number one. That was a good example to the little boys and girls. That's right. He was, Senor Beans. What are you doing? Just sitting here in Yale, man. Just in Yale? Where's Mama? Poor thing. Mama Yamey? Yeah, where's Mama Yamey?
Cheat shopping online. Again? Again, Poppy. She got three boxes yesterday. I know, but she also has three credit cards, so she's going to be shopping a lot. That's true. Great. I have a question for you. Okay. How come you no invite me to the greeting meet? What greeting? What? What greeting meet? I want to come to the greeting meet that you're going to do on the air. The meet and greet? The meet and greet? That's what I said, the greeting meet. No. The meet and greet. Switched them up a little different. What's the difference, man? You go there, you're going to greet, you're going to meet, right? That's true. You meet first. Isn't it the same thing? Listen, I get no invite. All I know is you guys do this all the time, right? Not really. You've done it a few times, let's be honest. Yeah, a few times. How many times have I gone? None. Okay, do that math. Well, you are one of five dogs, so, I mean, it's kind of hard to bring five dogs out. The other ones don't need to go. Why not? Because I am the king. They are my jesters. I wonder where he got that. Yeah. Thanks, Jay. Teaching my kid bad habits. This is Jay on the radio. You like Jay? Uncle Jay. I'm going to use some bacon. Uncle Jay. Uncle Jay teach me things on the radio. I think it's T-O-J, isn't it? Yeah, T-O-J. Yeah, T-O-Yay. T-O-Yay. T-O-Yay. Hey, puppy. Hey, buddy. When you get out of work.
Before you do the P90X, will you bring me some treats? I'll bring you, let's see. I'll bring you a bone. What kind of bone do you bring me? A beef flavor. You bring me a beef bone? That's right. Did you see that we are going to put your picture up on the Mikey Show page, the real Senior Beans? No, Papi. Yeah, we're going to put you up there. You're going to be famous. Superstar. What is your picture? It's you and your sombrero. Is this the one that they took the picture of me when I got arrested in TJ? Yeah, it's your mugshot. It's my mugshot. It's your mugshot. Everyone wants to know what you look like. Yeah. I don't want on the internet, if you don't mind. No, it's too late. Yeah, maybe you'll take it down. Yeah, maybe not. Once it's up, it's up forever. That's right. I don't want on internet. It's too late. I don't want. But it's too late, buddy. I'm your dad, and you're my son, and I said that it's going up there.
Can you listen to me for a second, puppy? Yeah, what's the problem? I cannot let people know my identity. Well, I was going to bring you to the greeting, mate, too. Okay, that is not what everybody can see if I was to sell doggies the fake ID. Yeah, you are. Do you understand what I'm saying? I do, I do. Okay, I'm not saying I sell fake IDs. But if you did. But if I did, I don't necessarily want for people to see what Beans look like. Well, that's, you know, that's why I'm the master and you're the dog. Puppy, can I ask you a question? Yeah. You freaking crazy now. Senor Beans. Yes? You are a puppy. No, I am not a puppy. I'm a full grown dog, okay? You look like a puppy. I may look like a puppy. You have a sombrero on in your picture and it's lovely. I may look like a puppy. But if you talk to the ladies around the neighborhood. You're the big dog? I have to go, puppy. All right, bye. I'll see you in a little bit. Love you, too. Poor guy's in jail. Treat him. He's got to stay in Yale. Yeah, he does. He poops on the floor. What do you want me to do? Well, we are going to have another meet and greet soon. Or greet and meet, as he put it. Greet and meet. And it's going to be great. We're working out the details. That's right. We're working out the details right now.
Let's see. M1 X-ray from El Cajon. Are you there? Man, how's it going, guys? It's going good. How you doing? Hey, not too bad. I just wanted to give you my two cents. And keep in mind, I don't want to contradict the doctor here, but I consider myself a bit of an expert. I've been doing fluoroscopic procedures like the one that you're going to go into for about five years now. That sounds cool. Yeah. I can tell you. I can tell you, man, from experience that... Having a little bit of caffeinated beverage is not necessarily the worst thing for you. Don't tell him that. Because it encourages something called peristaltis. Oh, she's the one that got, she's probably the one that got Lindsay Lohan all freaked out. No, that's Paris Hilton. Oh, that's Paris Hilton. Peristaltis, boys and girls, is the motion of the digestive system. So that would actually go good for your upper...
G.I. There you go. There you go. All right. Well, thank you. I appreciate the phone call, M1 X-Ray, and the information. No worries, guys. And he's guzzling black coffee as we speak. No, he's not. I won't allow him. He's bonging it. He's snorting coffee grinds right now. Okay. So tell me what you guys think about this email. Mikey, my best friend and my sister have decided to date. They've been talking on the phone nonstop lately and texting. It's really been bothering me. He didn't even ask my approval or anything. He's been kind of standoffish with me and very different since all this has been going on. What should I do? M1 Hardvark. Well, I don't necessarily think that it's wrong to date your best friend's sister, but it better be okay with the best friend. Otherwise, you risk... Getting the best friend mad. Yeah. Right? You have to ask your boy if you can, if it's cool, be like, I mean, it's an awkward conversation, but you can't just start dating his sister. Yeah. Yeah. Without a talk. If you're friends, you should be able to have the conversation first. Yeah. I mean, and he's your boy. He's probably not going to have an issue. Well. Isn't he? Well, what if he does? What if he does then? Then you can't date her, right? If he does, then. Well, you weigh it out.
Yeah, if he does, yeah, you weigh it out. You go, well, you know, which is more important to me? And by the way, if it doesn't work out with that girl, how's your boy going to feel about you then? Right. You know? I don't know. What do you guys think? I think absolutely have the conversation. Sorry about that. A little frog. Whoa, hello. Still there. Have a drink. I think it's a smoothie drink. She's got seeds in her mouth. Lauren drinks the most viscous. Thick, viscous drink. Yogurt. Yeah, it's like she drinks yogurt. No, I just started to drink it. I just started to drink it. It's delicious. Sorry, guys. I feel a little fear going to date your brother. Sorry. Mikey, I've got something in my throat. Yeah. So you think you should ask? Yep. Justin, I mean, in everyone's family, I feel like that comes up all the time. If you have a sibling that's the opposite sex, it's going to come up. Sure. You know, if I had a sister, who better to date my sister than my best pal? Wouldn't you want to know, okay, is this like Slayfest 2000?
Are you genuinely interested in this? Oh, yeah. I totally blew a great relationship. The guy that, like, we were tight, man. Everything we did, we did first together, going out, driving, putting engines in cars, all kinds of stuff. And all of a sudden, his sister, she came towards me, and I was like, you know, she was like my first true love. And bam, it broke up and killed him. He just, we couldn't hang out any longer. Really? I saw him last trip I went to Houston. I saw him, and he was just still like, really? Slay my sister. 570-1949, if you have a thought or opinion on this, or text us 949mikey at gmail.com. You got a brother, Sienna. Yeah. Did any of his friends ever want you? Oh, of course. No, I never did anything with any of his friends. A lot of his, like, best friends. have been around since I was little. So, I mean, they were always kind of brother territory to me and overprotective and never like that. Right. But I definitely know a lot of my good friends that, you know, they had brothers. Yeah. And it works out a lot of times, you know, and even if they break up and the relationship doesn't work out, you just know, don't talk about it. You know, move on, stick with your friend, don't bring up the sibling and you're good. Is there anything worse? Oh.
Than hearing about your sibling from your friend. My friend heard about it. No. About like sizes and stuff. Oh, yuck. Filthy. Filthy. She was completely about to vomit. And I was there. I was like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. You can't say that to her. No, you cannot. You don't want to hear anything. Yeah, you don't want to hear one thing. Not one thing. M1 Zach. is calling in right now because this very exact thing happened to him. I'm on Zach from PB. Go ahead. Not too much, dude. Thank you, bro. Just calling because I actually went through this experience myself. One of my best friends, one time my little sister came down to visit me down at college and the two of them hit it off. From, like, the moment they started, I was like, whoa, this could be something big. And they dated for a while. And, you know, Woods was saying it earlier, but, like, who better to date your sister than your best friend? Right, so it was fine with you, and you didn't have a problem with it. Yeah, but the thing was, he was super careful about the way he did it. He was like, at first, you could see that both of them were super interested in one another.
But then he came, he had that awesome conversation with me. He was like, hey, man, are you cool with this? And you said, yeah? Yeah. That's the thing, though, is you know that the person who's dating your sister is going to be on his best behavior the entire time he's dating her because that's your boy. Sure. Yep. Well, that was a good way to handle it. It depends, too, like, who it is, you know? Yeah. I wouldn't let them even look at my sister. Yeah, I've got a couple of those I wouldn't let near. But, like, my best friends, yeah, I would, if I had a sister, you know, that... I can't say that I was on my best behavior. No, Jay. Even though it was your friend, Jay? Well, it's probably why I didn't like you. The relationship went on and on, and she started getting crazy, and so I broke up with her. That night, she wrecked her car and broke both her arms. She got drunk and broke both of her arms. Flipped her car, broke both her arms. Oh, boy. So, technically, it was not mine. I broke up with her. I did the right thing because she was getting crazy. Like, you know, stuff I can't even talk about. Weird. So, he was upset because you broke up with her? Yeah, because I broke up with her. And then she got in a wreck. Because I would always say, I said, you don't drink and drive. You know, that was always my thing. Even back then, it's like, you don't get drunk. You know, she would get just toasted. And, of course, the first night, we're not going out anymore. That I'm not there to, you know, drive her or take care of her. She breaks both her arms in a driving car wreck. So, he saw it as a cause and effect. Got it.
Got it. Hey, does anybody know what a what it means to jailbreak a cell phone? OK, because here's the deal. It applies to every single person listening right now that has a cell phone. Okay, we've all used U.S. dollars in Mexico before, right? Yep. Well, now there are rules scheduled to go into effect in September that will basically be limiting how much U.S. cash can be deposited each month into a Mexican bank account. Oh, well, we haven't all done that. No, no, no. But, you know, I just mean that they get a lot of U.S. dollars in Mexico and, you know.
It makes sense, too. They don't want drug dealers. It's not uncommon. Yeah, they're doing it to limit money laundering. So businesses will only be able to deposit about $7,000 into the accounts and $4,000 for individuals. And people that work there are not happy, live there, are not happy because a lot of them rely on U.S. dollars. I'm going to have to close my Mexican bank account today. I got to close all eight now, which is going to be really tough. Now, there's also been drama going on with the Arlington Cemetery that graves were mislabeled. How do they do that? I know. Especially there. Well, now the number looks like has increased. They're saying the number of mislabeled graves there could be in the thousands. Yeah, so they're looking into it. The Missouri senator spoke about this yesterday. Not good. Hopefully they get it cleared up. Woodsy, what's going on in sports? Well, we told you yesterday Dan Heron got traded from the Diamondbacks to the Angels, made his debut last night for the Angels, got hit in the leg with a line drive, and lost to the Red Sox. Oh, wow. So not a good night for Danny Heron on his new team. And again, I mentioned it earlier, the Padres are taking on the Dodgers tonight. It's a huge, huge series. Chad Billingsley against John Garland, 7-0-5 start at Petco Park. It's going to be pretty intense. It is. Okay, so jailbreaking a cell phone.
What that means is that if you have, let's say that you're on Verizon. You want yourself an iPhone. Get an iPhone, you jailbreak it. It means that you now are able to get your Verizon account on an iPhone, even though iPhone is exclusive to AT&T. That's what jailbreaking is. You have to be really smart to be able to do that, right? Or can anyone figure that out? Well, I can't figure it out, but I can easily find people that know how to jailbreak phones. I've never even heard of that. It makes me nervous. Well, the only reason that I haven't done it is because my understanding was that it was illegal. Yeah, I think it is. Well, why would you do it? I would do it because I want Verizon. Well, you guys, I mean, Lauren and Woods, you guys have Verizon and you say that you want an iPhone, but you don't want to switch your carrier because you love Verizon. You know, that way you can have the best of both worlds. When you get an iPhone at the Apple store, don't they set it up and everything for you there? Yeah. They do. And then you take it home, jailbreak it, and then now you're on Verizon? Yeah. Somebody does something with, like, I don't know if it's the SIM card or... There is no... I don't believe that... Well, I think there is a SIM card in an iPhone, but you can't get to it. People, you know, unless you're a technician. Yeah. They make it so that the SIM card is not easy to get to.
Well, Apple is one of the cell phones that have fought really hard against legalizing jailbreaking of cell phones. Sure. But as of yesterday morning, the FCC announced that they made the controversial decision that it is now legal to jailbreak your iPhone or any other cell phone. M1, Scott from Santee has all kinds of information on jailbreaking, right? Yep. Okay, what can you tell us? What it does is it allows third-party apps into your iPhone, like other developers make all these apps, and not so much with Verizon, but any other phone with a SIM card, you can, what is called unlocking, which basically it unlocks your cell phone, unlocks the service, so you can pop any other SIM card into your cell phone, and basically it'll work. Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute. Pause. Yeah. So that means I was incorrect. in thinking that it was about carriers. It's not that you can get Verizon on your iPhone. Yeah, I've tried to do it. I haven't figured it out for Verizon. I'm not 100%, but as far as I know, it deals with SIM cards. Mike, I think you're right, but I think that's a lot harder to do. Most people that do the jailbreaking, I think they're doing...
They're getting applications, yeah, like Safari ad-blocking apps. They say alternate keyboard layouts, programs that can change the interface of how your phone looks. Mm-hmm. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Stuff like that. So you can customize it. Woods, can I say it in a way that maybe won't? Because Woods is like, oh, boy, come on. Let's go back to the nerdery and start pouring some nerd beakers together. But I think this is, just to break it down for you, a lot of people that have an iPhone. they want to be able to have all kinds of cool stuff on there that they can't. They don't want to pay for it. But you were right about the carrier as well. I have a friend that has T-Mobile and he has an iPhone. T-Mobile is one of the biggest ones where they do it. Isn't that advocating stealing? No, they say that you can do it. But we all know. You're still paying your T-Mobile bill. Well, Apple's like you. They say it's a form of copyright violation. But the FCC says no. Jailbreaking merely enhanced the interoperability of your phone and was thus legitimate under fair use rules. Those are their words. To try and prevent some sort of monopoly, maybe. You're on T-Mobile and you really want the iPhone. Yeah.
It's now legal to jailbreak it. You know what I use my phone for? Making phone calls? Making phone calls. So, I mean, for me, it's like right over my head because, yeah, I want an iPhone because the reason I want an iPhone is so I can have my tunes in my hand at all times. Music and phone calls. That's all I would want it for. That's the thing. I was going to say a lot of people stream our show that can't get it on certain phones. So, good for us. But, you know, I work on the show, so I really don't think I need to listen to it when I'm out here. Well, good for us to have listeners to do it. Absolutely. Absolutely. For me, though, the phone thing is just like it's so far over my head because I use it to make phone calls and listen to music. And that would be it. Dude, I use that iPhone to take pictures. I use that iPhone to take video. I use that iPhone. Why do you have a camera? I have a great legitimate question. I have a camera because the camera is for higher quality photos. I haven't had a camera in almost two years. And my iPhone has been my camera. And I have. amazing pictures oh yeah my wife has an iphone freaking loves it my mom has one loves it but like and i'll get one when it when i can yeah but i'm not gonna it makes me nervous to like tinker with it something's gonna happen to my bill or something
Somebody's going to come knocking on my door. Like, for once, I want to follow the rules and wait. For once. Now you are. Now you're following rules. But here's the deal. If they had a store that said, come on in, we're going to jailbreak your phone. That may be a different story than giving it to Eddie down the street to, you know, rip it open and make changes to it. That's what freaks me out a little bit. And here's another reason that should freak you out. M1 Papa Driz from Oceanside, you there? Good morning, Joe. Morning. Greetings, Wood. Greetings. No. When you jailbreak the iPhone, you're only going to be able to use it on GSM-capable networks. Unfortunately, Verizon is not GSM. They use something called CDMA. Yeah, forget it. Woods just tuned out because...
You started using a bunch of acronyms. As soon as somebody starts using acronyms, a person that doesn't get it is out. See, you're in. I'm out. Even I'm not in on that. It's like Charlie Brown's teacher. Listen, there's a TMI that works with the GT1 and the GTA. They're like, what? Stop. What's the risk? Okay, well, there's not really any risk. I mean, people have been jailbreaking it before. They're going to continue to jailbreak it. It's not really going to change anything. Apple is still not going to warranty the phone because Apple wants you to have the best quality experience. And they believe that's only with their software. And that would stink, right? I mean, if you had an iPhone and it breaks and you jailbroke it, you take it back and they're like, we ain't going to touch that phone. We messed with it. So that's a drawback. That's certainly a drawback. Okay. I have a BlackBerry. Can you jailbreak a BlackBerry? To get more apps. It says all those types of smartphones. You don't use apps on that. I don't. I play poker. But I think I know why you don't. I think the reason that you don't is because it won't look cool on there. I've seen you with your Facebook on there. It looks terrible. It's a pain in the butt. It looks bad. It's not cool. I think I would enjoy the iPhone. Kid likes to break rules.
In this case, I'm like, I'm going to go buy the book when it comes to technology and stuff. Well, yeah, because you forfeit your warranty and your insurance and all that, too. Yeah, and, you know, I don't download illegal movies. You know, I have never downloaded an illegal song ever in my life. It's good. Never. I've never stolen music. Even back in the day with Napster? No, never. I've always paid for a service, but I've never, like, stolen music. Wait a minute. Did you not do it? Because you didn't want to put viruses on your computer? That's part of the reason. And, you know, the other reason is I don't believe in that. And then the third reason is I was scared because I'm a computer idiot. Really? Yeah, and I'd screw it up. I've never done that. That's awesome. That's awesome. I'll tell you right now. Kid's not real tech savvy. Me neither. So we got a text message from M1 Wasabi. Wasabi? He's our boy. That's our boy. I know it. Wasabi. What's happening? He would like us to dig into this, dive in, and ask questions. And when I saw it, I was like, oh, yeah. I want to know what this is about. On Lauren's blog today. Oh, boy. Maybe I need to check this thing out. LOB, on her blog today, copied and pasted, according to dictionary.com, the definition of the word assume.
The definition is if you assume that something is true, you imagine that it is true, sometimes wrongly. Another definition, if someone assumes power or responsibility, they take power or responsibility. If something assumes a particular quality, it begins to have that quality. If you assume a particular expression or way of behaving, you start to look or behave in this way. These are the definitions of the word assume. But I think we all know what assume means. Yeah. My aunt said... That if you assume you make an ass out of you and out of me. Yeah. Yep. That's a general thing. But here's what L.O.B. goes on to say. She says, I'm learning not to assume anything about people. For years, I've also been working on not creating expectations for people. Someone else will almost always never behave as you think you yourself would behave. No matter how much you think you've pegged them, be it after 10 seconds or 10 years. Human beings are selfish and unpredictable creatures. In true fashion of natural selection, deep down, we are all concerned with numero uno. In the words of Ron Burgundy, it's science. Seems I've gone and made an ass of me. Seems I've gone and made an ass of, well, me. Time to start reading Darwin and watching Anchorman, I suppose. That was from Lauren's blog. M1 Wasabi's like,
What is this all about? Good searching was that. He was like a sleuth. I'm glad you did that. I'm going to tell you right now. Had he not texted this right under the radar. Under the radar. Oh, yeah. Just look at it and go, oh, it's interesting. See you later. Well, I don't get a chance to read. I barely read my own blog. Right. Exactly. And so I would not have known about this. And so he brought it to my intent. And so I want to know, L.O.B., what are you talking about? I was just generally speaking in specifics. Really? Yeah!
No, I mean, I try to be diligent. We all are diligent about getting a blog up every day. It's a great habit, and I know the listeners like it and everything. And sometimes you're just like, what am I going to talk about today? Right, and you're like, I'll make something up. I'll just put something about it. Or look at this funny video. Read mine for my grocery list. Yeah, and I happened to get off the phone and was just heated up about something, and I hadn't written my blog yet. So I was like, huh, maybe I do. Something a little creative here. Well, can you speak in general terms? Specifically. Specifically? Yeah, I can do that. Well, I talked, I guess, a couple, I don't even know, a couple months ago about my breakup with my ex-boyfriend, Matt. And in the past couple weeks, I've done something against my better judgment, which is step back into the gray area. Anyone that has been in and out of a relationship knows about that gray area. Absolutely. They know it's dangerous. They proceed with caution, but sometimes they proceed anyway, which I have gone and done. And, you know, we've kind of like we've gotten into this habit of let's just kind of.
Let's step into that gray area but not talk exactly about what we're doing. Let's just go with it. Everyone's done that. Everybody does. Everybody's done that. It's called the backslide. Yeah. Is it? By the way, Lauren said something hysterical when it first happened. She goes, I know what I'm doing, do I? Yeah, exactly. That's exactly what she said. Guys, guys, I know what I'm doing, do I? Do I? No. idea what i'm doing i mean and we've been open with each other of what are we doing what are we doing but because i mean basically the reason that we parted ways which which the ways the the way things were was we were living together and in my mind and and what we had discussed not just in my made-up mind but what we had discussed that meant like okay well we're headed towards marriage then and why else would you move in with somebody um who doesn't I have to worry about that person who does move in before that. It's called a preemptive strike against Mikey. Very nice. You knew that was coming. Hey, it works well. She's diffused me. Yes. But anyway, so we ended things back in April when our lease was up and went our separate ways and for a couple months didn't talk, communicate or anything. And then we missed each other and it ended up that, you know, started first it was dinner, then it was like a couple.
meetings up and then it's like oh we're back into old habits again and um yeah not and then you're like what's so wrong with this feels nice you know feels real nice yeah it feels real comfortable yeah right like an old shoe like an old shoe and so i had kind of a freak out over the weekend about like, what am I doing? I'm probably causing more harm than good. And so we had like a two-parter serious conversation. Like, I'm a girl and I was even dreading the second half. Like, oh, you know, I got to go to bed. I can't have this conversation tonight. So let's have it tomorrow. And come like tomorrow, I was like, really? I really want to sign up for this, which tomorrow was yesterday, if that makes any sense. Anyway, so in the conversation we had last night and getting off the phone, I mean, I don't know if it was, like, a final goodbye or not, but it was, like, you know, I guess I just assumed if you were going to waltz back into my life, I assumed that that meant, like, you knew what was at stake. You knew, like, don't come knocking unless you, you know? If I were him, I would have a good dodge for that. Woodsy probably would, too. Yeah. The dodge would be, I never said.
Yeah, he did. I know. And in all fairness. And that's why, you know, that's where the blog came about was, well, you know what? He didn't say anything otherwise. We just, we went back into it. Is that what he said, by the way? Was that his? He said, well, I thought that you understood that I'm still figuring it out, which, you know. You're ready for more and he's not quite there. And he's entitled to figure it out and whatever. Everyone's entitled. I mean, and that's what it's about. It's about what's right for you. It's not. it's not about trying to impose what's right for you onto somebody else. And it's not, like I said, with expectations. I mean, I almost always get disappointed when I set up expectations, be it from like a concert or like a good friend, you know, because I always... Expectations are resentments under construction. That's right. It's nice. It's true. It's true. Yeah. So, yeah, so I, you know, I do that a lot with people and then I like... If I were to behave a certain way, I would assume that a certain logic had been processed, you know, and that's what I assumed of him. And I shouldn't have done that. I should have tread very carefully, which I didn't. Is it wrong to think that there's differences, too, in the way that men think and the way that women think? No, I don't think so. And, you know, L.O.B., big props for talking about this because I...
I've been there. I was there. I've been there with my wife, you know, and you probably did too. I mean, you guys did the million breakups. Todd and I have for sure. Jay, probably not. But, you know, the thing is, is that when you, it does feel really comfortable. And, you know, I used to call it the Sunday, I used to call it the Sunday, single Sundays. Yeah. Because I'd be like, I'd go out with my buddies Friday and Saturday night, blow it out, have a great time. And then come Sunday, it was, gosh, I miss her. You know, I'm going to call her up. We're going to watch Sopranos and eat and hang out and be real sweet together. Man, that wasn't fair for her, you know, and it wasn't fair to me. But I was the idiot that kept kept doing it. And the gray area is the hardest part. And it's almost like you got to go. I'm all the way in or I'm all the way out. You know, it's just so it's brutal. Yeah. And I made that strong, like all the way out. And then I got, you know, you have a moment of weakness and you step back in and. It sucks. Sometimes it's for the worst. You know what, though? In the long run, and Lauren, I think you know this even now. And we all know this. In the long run, it's almost better that this happens this way. Because it gives you the opportunity to go, if that hadn't happened, I'd still be sitting here going, what if? What if? At least with a situation like what just happened.
You can have some closure to it or, you know, you have a feeling of like, OK, at least there's no thing in my mind of like, oh, man, I wonder. Yeah. And props to you for doing it one time and then learning, you know. So many people do it so many times and never learn, you know. And the other thing, LLB, is with a man, a lot of times if you would have thrown that ultimatum at him and said, OK, it's time to, you know. Esther, get off the pot. And he's like, well, I don't want to lose her, but I'm still not ready. So I'll just marry her. I mean, I know guys like that. I really honestly do that have said, I'm really not ready yet, but I'm going to do it because I think it's what I'm supposed to do. And that's what she wants. But Woods, isn't that, that's not the girl's. bad no i'm not saying that's the guy's bad he's just he's doing a dumb move he's doing a dumb move but then what happens after a year he's like wow we've been married a year and i'm still not ready and i don't want to be in this marriage anymore and then it breaks up i've seen it happen and that's exactly what we discussed i said i don't want to be with somebody and i don't want somebody to marry me because it's the right thing to do or because you feel guilty enough to do it or because it's even the next logical step like i want that unabashed like
I have to marry you because I can't live another day without you, you know? And that's not, you know, you can't force that on somebody. And you will find that because you deserve that, you know? And don't ever settle up. Yeah, I can't. Rebecca never, my wife Rebecca never put it to me in terms of a, I don't know. She said to me, we had a conversation where she said, I'm not getting any younger. And we've been doing this thing back and forth for a long time. And I just want to know, like, what's your plan? Yeah. And immediately I was fearful. Yeah. And I was angry. Yeah. You put on the spot. I was. OK. Anger is hurt, sadness and fear. Right. So I'm put on the spot. I'm sitting in front of the Verizon store on my cell phone talking to her. Probably all three of those emotions. Yeah. I was mostly fearful because I was like, what is this? What is this? What is this? What is this? What is this? Yeah. That's what was going on in my head. And I go, I don't know. I don't know. I don't know what the plans are. You know, why do we have to have a plan? And you guys know Rebecca. She's like, well, because we need to have a plan. She's a planner. And I go, well.
My phone's cutting out. I'm getting bad reception. I did it to Todd, too. Yeah. And so what ended up happening is I thought, okay, well, what happens if she splits? And my mind went boing. Fast forward the tape. Yeah, fast forward the tape. And when I fast forward the tape, I'm like, she moves on. She meets some six foot tall dude. He's a pretty sharp cat. He probably has hair. Good car. They get married and they have a kid. And then I'm out like slaying girls and I hear through the grapevine how happy she is. Oh my God. I'm like, will you marry me? It was two weeks later. We were in Tahoe and I had a ring.
I love you. I'll bring over Waiting to Exhale tonight. We'll have a little wine and watch Waiting to Exhale. No, I'm fine. I'm fine. It's, you know. No, I had to work out a few tears. But it's hard lessons to learn. And when it's happening, I'm like, it's hard because you still love the person. So it's like, it seems counterintuitive to not be around the person that you love. But you have to think logically sometimes. If it's cool, I want to bring over how Stella got her groove back tonight. Let your voice be heard on The Mikey Show now. Welcome back to Mikey's show. Mikey's show is myself, Woods, Lauren, Sienna. And Jay. You're so close now. So interesting hearing Lauren's story because as a guy, we can relate, you know, Woodsy and I. And every guy listening right now, you've either been in that situation or you've either been Lauren or you've been Matt. You've been one of the two. Probably. Probably. More than likely. More than likely.
I think I've been both. I have been both. I have been both, for sure. And it's rough if you're the guy because, well, it's obviously way worse for you, Lauren. Yeah, I mean, it's just one of those, it is a two-sided coin. I mean, I see, if I'm standing out there objectively, I see my point, I see his point, I see the whole big picture, but. I only see your point. I'm sorry. That's because you love me. That's true. But, I mean, listen. And my, I think that anybody that is, it's hard to be on the outside looking at it and going, hey, it's okay. Go ahead and know she's got these feelings. But still, it's hard to do that. I'm sorry. It is. It is. Trust me. It's really tough to wrap my head around it. And I've been that guy. So is Woods. Yep. You know.
Tonight's 8 o'clock album is The Clash. Give them enough rope. That's tonight, 8 o'clock. 8 o'clock album is cool, man. You got to tune into that. This is interesting. First of all, we're going to be giving away tickets to the Padres and the Dodgers coming up this hour. Nice. There is something that your mother could have done or not done that could affect your anxiety level as an adult. This is interesting to me. Yeah. What is it? There was a study that followed about 500 infants all the way into their 30s. And just wanted to test their affection levels and how they are with their mothers from a young age and growing up. And they found out that babies who receive above average levels of affection and attention from their mothers are less likely than other babies to grow up to be emotionally distressed, anxious, or hostile adults. Really? So basically a mother's affection can prevent anxiety as an adult.
Wow. So when you hear someone say to somebody, what's the matter? Mommy didn't love you enough? It actually means something now. Yes, you're right. Correct. I mean, it makes sense. It really does make sense. Yeah. Wow. What a trip. It's crazy that it's such a formative time when they're just little tiny babies. Yeah. I know. My mom gave me a lot of love and affection when I was a kid. have experienced one or more of all of those. Well, everyone does, but the higher levels. Anxiety. Woods, would you say that you do experience high anxiety? Not so much anymore, but yeah, there was a time in my life I was very anxious. I mean, I'm a hyper dude. I'm a hyper guy, but I'm not anxious, really. I could be okay. I could be. I mean, upon further examination. There's a lot of ways to look at it. Sienna, you do not experience, unless we don't, you're good at hiding it. I do get really anxious. You have anxiety? Yeah, like if I know that there's something coming up, I overanalyze it until it's done. And it can turn out to be something that's so stupid and dumb and small, but I will overstress because I get nervous about it. Okay, now that is, what I would call that is...
Conditional means, okay, you have anxiety, but only according to certain things. Rarely, yeah. Anxiety is if in general your personality is that you're anxious pretty much all the time. I think I just lied to everybody. I think I am anxious now the more I think about it. I think I just lied on the air. Yeah, I think I'm anxious. In general, you're anxious consistently. I'm generous. I think in general, yeah, I am generous too. You are generous. No, I think in general I'm anxious. I think I am. I am. I know I am. I think by looking at myself in the mirror for a second, I think I'm anxious. Well, you are always fidgeting with stuff. And I think that's part of anxiety is he's just, you know, like, oh, he's got to be touching something and what's coming next. But then again, I can lay for six hours and not move. I have been symptomatically anxious this year because I went through something traumatic December 17th. keeping track of the dates or anything like that. But, uh, yeah, because I went through something that like rocked my world, turned my life upside down. I have had anxiety, stress, blah, blah, blah. Um, but before that I had not really been symptomatic for anxiety, stress. It's weird, man, because with my, I know with my last
A couple of jobs I had where I just kind of felt dead end and just kind of always felt anxious and, you know, used to self-medicate a lot. And, you know, with me now and living here and doing what we do, yeah, there's stress, but it's a different kind of stress. And I think I'm definitely less anxious than I've ever been. And I owe a lot of that to this show and this city, you know what I mean, to be honest with you. And that's the thing. Like, I think that you have found a lot of really healthy ways to blow steam off urine. playing baseball, you're surfing, you're exercising. That's a great way to blow off steam. I used to blow off steam the wrong ways. Me too, brother. I wish the sun would come out, so it would help us all enjoy that outside activity. 570-1949 is our phone number. You know what we should do as a panel? Here's how the panel works. The panel is myself, Woods, and L.O.B. We will talk about the things that are happening in the world that are big stories that are out there. This is not for panel discussion, but I just want to let you know. Part six, I think, of Mel Gibson came out. Yeah. And he's telling her that he can't stand her. He talks about her ex. He talks about her ex. Yeah, stuff like that. Hey, does anybody think to themselves, just put the whole thing out. It's stupid. Give me the 45-minute version. Yeah, why the...
You know, part six, part seven. Just put it out. I hate that we even have the opportunity to listen to it. It's creepy, man. Man, talk about it, man. It's just like at this point, you know, they're not going to, you know, it's over. Like, it's over. He left the country, I think. Oh, it's not over. But I'm saying it should be. There's a child, yeah. It should be. And don't you go like, yeah, I get it. He's a D. Yeah, the guy's a big jerk. Oh, he's yelling again. Wow. News breaking. Yeah, I mean, seriously, I think that even a culture that is like, wow, I love this stuff is going, I get it. He's a D. Enough already. Maybe they're trying to see if there's something to warrant a criminal investigation. They're already doing an investigation. Okay, so here are some of the topics for the panel. First of all, how about this new hotel in Sweden? I love it. This hotel. They come up with some weird hotels. Yes. What is it? It's a tree hotel. Jay. I'm all in. This is like, you can't, I can't describe it. You have to see the pictures, but I could do my best to describe it. It's in Sweden and they have four different rooms available right now. These are tree houses. They're in the trees. Oh.
Cool, Leo. They're in the trees. I mean, it's nuts. And one of these is like literally a big box up in a tree that's mirrored. I'm so high. I know. It's mirrored so that, you know, it doesn't really disturb the natural habitat and the animals living there. They say that mirrors, birds can tell that they're mirrored so they don't fly into them. But like deer and whatever animals may be there are not going to be disturbed by it because it blends in. Question. It's nuts. Do they show any internal pictures of the place? Yes, Mike, they do. But let me just tell you that this mirror cube, this is one of them. They all look differently. Stands 12 feet high, 12 feet wide, and is attached to a single tree. It's completely covered in mirror glass, and it creates an amazing optical illusion, which makes it almost camouflaged in these pine trees that's surrounded by. Inside. Here's a picture. Lane. Let me see it. It looks like a... It looks like Ikea. I was just going to say, it looks like one of the, I don't know what they're called, showrooms at Ikea. Do I have any other pink? Yeah, it looks like Pinkberry. Listen, I'm not saying Ikea is lame because Ikea is cool. What I'm saying is that there's not, I don't see amenities. Look at the outside picture of the mirrored place. Now that is cool. This is cool. That is rad. Is there wireless? Mike, of course. Is there a toilet?
Yes. Okay, let me get to the toilet. I have pages and pages. I really need to know about the toilet facilities. Now, right now they have four different rooms and they're in different trees. They're said that their goal is in five years to have 24 rooms from 24 different architects. The rooms are about 160 to 320 square feet, elevated 12 to 14 feet in the air. How do you get into it? I'm not sure. That's what I want to know. How do you get out there? How do you get up there? How do you get your luggage up there? Forget it. If I had to climb... You're not going to have to climb. Well, how else are you in the treehouse? I'm sure there's a ladder. They jetpack you up there? Hovercraft. Yeah, Hovercraft. It says that they've all been constructed from wood and glass with an electric floor heating system, a state-of-the-art eco-friendly incineration toilet, and a water-efficient hand... Nope. Oh, wow. You're not burning my doo-doo. Nope. No, I'm not doing that. Not in front of me. I'm not doing that. I flush it like an American. You probably do flush it, and then it goes... Great. Great. I got to flush it. If you want to stay in the Tree Hotel, it costs 4,200 Swedish crowns, which is about $555 a night. $555? Yeah. 4,055 crowns? Each room is designed to hold up to four guests. Sounds very reasonable, Michael. It is. It opens this month, this hotel.
Here's a panel discussion. Woods, would you be interested in that? No. How come? Because I get a room with a W for $5.50 a night. Forget the price. Because I don't want to stay in a treehouse. You don't want to stay in there? Am I seven years old? I need TV, ESPN, the whole bit. They have it. The kid's not very adventurous. No treehouse for you? No. Grown man. L-O-B. I would totally stay in a treehouse. How come? What's appealing about it? Because I made tree houses all growing up. It's so awesome. You're like out there in nature. You get to see things from a height that you're not usually at. To see things, especially if it's camouflaged, you get to see the animals do things you wouldn't see if you weren't there. It's cool. Look at the stars. Go to the zoo. Oh, wow. Natural habitat. I believe there are two types of people. The person that would like to stay in a tree house and the person that wouldn't. I fall into the person that wouldn't category. Yeah.
There is nothing appealing to me about staying in a big glass cube in a tree where I poo into a thing that burns it up. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Party pooper. You're into it, Sienna? Yes. I love it. What for? Why would you not want to try it for a night? That'd be so fun. First of all, you wouldn't sleep. You wouldn't sleep because you'd be so tripped out by the fact you're in a tree. What? You'd be like, oh, I'm in a tree. Think about it all the time. I want to rest. It would be so fun. I want to rest my butt off. It's an experience. Don't say no to a new experience. Okay, how about this one? Apparently, we're about to run out of internet addresses. Did you know this? No. Sienna? All right, now I'm about to get real technical here. Uh-oh. This is not my area of expertise. Well, okay. Here we go. No. Come on. Follow this. Okay. Experts are predicting that the world is going to run out of Internet addresses in less than a year. Now, the Internet protocol used by most of the people on the Internet, they use IPv4, which provides about 4 billion IP addresses, Internet addresses. There are currently only 232 million IP addresses left. Oh, wow. Enough for about 340 days.
This is what they're saying. Not even a year. Yeah, not even a year. And they're saying that the reason they're running out so quickly is thanks to all the smartphones and other, you know, web-enabled devices. I wish I understood how. I know. That's what I mean. It's like, you know, IPv4. I don't know. There's people that do obviously understand that. But they're saying that there is a solution and it's IPv6. I was going to say V5. Yeah, which uses a 128 digital address, and it would give everyone more than 4 billion addresses each. So there's a way to upgrade it, but in order to get to IPv6, everyone's going to need to buy all new hardware. Oh, great. Who's going to want to do that? This is what I'm trying to understand about it. Does that mean that I can't think up a website and it's just not available? It'll be already taken. It's already taken? Like mikeyshow.com. If someone wanted to have mikeyshow.com, I mean, maybe you'd have to do mikeyshow.com too. I know, but what I'm saying is- I think there's no room for it. That's what it is. There's no room. That's what it is. There's no room. Like you can come up with googlywoogly.com, but- But there is only room for- There's no space for it. There's only about a year left of people adding new websites before they go, there's no room left.
I don't get it, man. Weird how that can happen. All right. Here's the question, though. Woods. Wow. Woods just woke up. I know. I just woke Woods up. Welcome. Well, here is an interesting question for you. This is, he just gave me the Vulcan hand. Like, greetings. Greetings. Honestly, this is an honest question. Woods. Yes. How is that possibly not interesting to you? I like girls. And sports. But you're telling me... ESPN.com. ESPN.com. But you're telling me... Podraise.com. You're telling me, fast forward one year from today, when you want get.com, you can't have it? I already got it. Okay. Let's say you want... Oops, time to move on. Let's say you want the kid.com and you can't. Ooh, the kid.com. It's got a nice ring to it. That's not interesting to you? Can't have it. Okay. Lauren? I think it's fascinating.
I think it's fascinating. I don't know what they'll do. Maybe they'll start, like, fleshing out ones that haven't been used in a while or they'll start selling them off. I don't know. There's got to be something because no way people are ready in less than a year to get new hardware. For sure. Does that mean we have to buy a new computer? Yeah. All new stuff. Perfect. No, they'll figure something else out. I think they have to. But here's my thing. I think that that's fascinating. And I go a year from now and I think to myself, well, what will we do? What will we do? We are completely reliant upon the Internet as a culture. Forget culture. As a world. Yeah. As a world. They're saying that if the Internet addresses run out, that it's going to cause, you know, a lot of the common applications that we use, Gmail, iTunes. Oh, boy. No more working. What? No more working. No more work for you. No more work for you. We do have another panel topic, but I'm up against the gun, and I would still like to talk about Padres. Yeah. And so, because we do have some Padre tickets to give away. Is it Derek? Jared. Jared. Jared, come on up to the mic. Jared from the Padres is with us. Hi, Jared. Good morning, guys. How are you, man? How are we doing? We have a big series in town, right? We do.
Big six-game homestand starting tonight. Dodgers tonight, tomorrow night, and on Thursday afternoon. And then the Florida Marlins rolling to town Friday through Sunday. Man. What time is that Thursday again? 3.35. Throwback Thursday. How about that? Fans voted early this season, and they're actually wearing the 1978 unis. Love those. So people are pretty fired up. Well, we have tickets to Wednesday's game. Which is tomorrow. Yep, tomorrow night, 7.05. And we... We've also got tickets to this weekend's game, Saturday and Sunday, the Marlins. Those are our big two giveaway promo item days, so we wanted to make sure you got you guys a pair of tickets for those. Thanks. And I brought in a sample of the Saturday game. I love it. I love it. It's a bobblehead. If this looks like Clayton, it's our Clayton Richard bobblehead. Nice. How much would this pay for one of those? That's great. We're giving those away to the first $25,000 on Saturday night against the Marlins.
Love a bobblehead. I actually brought two for you guys. So great, dude. Thank you. You guys have to scrap over it. Sorry. Yeah. Well, Jared, thank you, man, for bringing these in. And is there anything else that we can know about what's going on and how to support our Padres? Yeah. Obviously, people can get their tickets at Padres.com. And until the end of Saturday, the 31st. You actually saved $5 going online to get your tickets. But expecting huge crowds for all six games this weekend. I know we'll be over $40,000 for Saturday. We'll be over $35,000 for all three Dodger games. So, you know, the fans have been coming out. Petco Park's definitely been the place to be the last month or so. It's been a lot of fun. And, you know, with the team three and a half games up on the Giants and six games up on the Dodgers, it's a pretty important homestand. Thank you, bro. I appreciate it, dude. Thank you for letting us give these away. 5-7-0. 194.9 is our number. Give us a call right now. And these are great seats, too. Again, it's for the Dodgers. The first pair we're going to give away is for the Dodgers. Then we're going to give away a couple of weekend Marlins tickets against the Padres. Thank you, Jared, for doing that for us. And so we'll take some phone calls right now and give those away. We do have another panel topic, too. How big is too big to fly? This is a question that's come up before. I used to be so fat that

Let me see what the IP address is. Let me get this straight. You haven't. You're a weather girl. You're a weather girl. Allegedly. What if you went to me in the morning for sports and I go, hey, let me check it out. I was just so riveted with this story about you guys saying that the internet was dead or something. I bet you were. The internet is dead. I don't know. It didn't really seem like you guys knew what you were talking about. I knew exactly what I was talking about, Sabrina. I knew exactly what I was talking about. Oh, really, Mike? I did. What's an IP address? An internet?
Provider address. I think it stands for protocol. Does it? How does she know? I don't know. Because I go to UCLA. Up with the times. So anytime she gets an answer correct, she says, it's because I go to UCLA. Hello. They don't let just anybody in there. Okay. This is total BS. What? It's not going to break 70 degrees until August 2nd. Wait a minute. It says that it will not break 70 degrees until August 2nd, Monday. Second, yes. Perfect. What? It's going to be 70 degrees on August 2nd, and that's the warmest it's going to be. What's going on, Sabrina? You're our weather girl. Tell us what's going on with Mother Nature. I think she's really pooed. Why? Because of the oil and the acid rain and the... Jonas Brothers. I don't really know. I'm just hired to read the website. Well, thanks. I'm hired to read the website. Great job. Thank you. That was a really good job. As usual. 21 years old. Has a job because her dad knows Mike Booz. We're in the Booz Allen Hamilton building. Don't even really know if the guy's name is Mike. I don't think she does either. Let's call him a fat idiot loser. Yeah.
So Southwest kicked a woman off a flight to make room for an obese teenager. Mikey, what's the deal, Sienna? So there's this woman. Her name was not released, but she's 5'4", 5 feet, 4 inches tall, 110 pounds. She was asked to get off of a flight from Las Vegas to Sacramento in order to make room for a 14-year-old who needed two seats. Who needed two seats. An obese teenager. Now, honestly, if you need two seats, how on earth is it that you do not have to buy two seats? How on earth? In what universe? I don't know, man. And how on earth is it that... How is that fair? That the other woman got kicked off the flight? Well, and that, no doubt. I mean, no doubt to me that it seems unfair. But in all honesty, how is it...
possibly fair let's take the woman out of the thing yeah how is it possible that if you require two seats you're not required to pay for them how is that this is the same airline that asked was it kevin smith from um clerks clerks so maybe whoever this employee was went the other way and instead of saying to the girl you can't ride on the plane maybe she Told the other passenger, look, I'll give you an upgrade. I think that's exactly what happened. Well, you know, they're also the airline that asked a woman from San Diego to please get off the plane because they thought that she was dressed provocatively. Right. And she wasn't. Just hot. Yeah, we've had her in studio. So this employee is probably trying to be all like hush hush and do the right thing. She's like, well, I can't tell this 14. year old girl. Right. She's got to get off the plane. Right. Well, this other woman who was asked to leave is obviously not happy. Of course. Yeah. And she freaked out and caused a scene, I'm sure. And she said, you know, it doesn't seem right that I should have to leave to accommodate someone who only paid for one seat. Of course. Yeah. Doesn't seem fair. Yeah. So Southwest is in some more trouble. 570-1949.

All right, what you're going to be playing for is Padre Dodger tickets, okay? Perfect. All I need you to do to win them is give me the title or the artist of this song. Here we go. M1 Matt, do you have a clue? Okay, I found the tip of my tongue. Is that a... It's not Van Halen, it's... Come on, you got it, you got it. David Lee Roth. Yeah! Dude, that's it. Nice. He went through the exact same thought process that I went through. That is correct. That was Just a Gigolo by David Lee Roth. That's right. That's right. I thought it was something completely different. What did you think it was, Sienna? I thought it was That's Amore. Oh, my gosh. Hang on the line. That's Amore. Just a Gigolo. M1 Crystal on the 805. Title or artist to win, buddy? All right, M1 Mike, do you know what that is? Title or artist wins? No, I'm going to have to give up. Jerry Baker. Jerry Rafferty, Baker Street. Sorry about that, buddy. I'm sorry. All right. We'll see you.
Had that weird echo thing. I thought that was the Golden Girls theme. So did I in the beginning. It sounded like it at the beginning. I was like, what? Thank you for being in. Yeah, exactly. Well, that means that we have those two tickets so we can give those away as the week goes on because we got tickets this weekend. Padres Marlins going to be coming into town. And so we'll do that. We got some new releases to do. Avenged Sevenfold is out today. Let's play that. Let's see. Here we go. Didn't really sing along with that. No. Every once in a while we get albums that come out, you know, yesterday and stuff like that, but I will go through the weak ones. So Tom Jones, Praise and Blame. Wow. Tom Jones. Tom Get. I heard this the other day. It's like, is that Johnny Cash? Tom Get. Tom Jones. Maybe hang him up, pal. Tom Jones Country? What?
I don't know. If I turn it down. Oh, boy. Oh, wow. To the thundering sky. I've heard turd sing better. I don't know Tom Jones, I guess. Yes, you do. It's not unusual. Yeah. Like Vegas Tom Jones. That was Tom Jones? Yes. He's turning a new leaf. No way. Yeah, he's got a new bit. That's the dude that used to sing. Do you know that song, Sienna? It's not unusual. I remember it. I think I only know because of the very Brady sequel. Marsha liked Tom Jones. Oh, my gosh. That's how you know. Oh, my gosh. That's how you know. There you go. You're welcome. Okay, here you go. This is what he sounds like for those of you that are trying to remember. That's the same guy? He's a lot deeper now. It was like the Welsh Elvis. That one, yeah. Oh, yeah. See, I think this is cool. Yeah, in fact, they played this song in Anchorman. Yeah. Poor man's Elvis, though. Yeah.
Women still throw panties on stage at this guy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The only thing is the women are 80 now. Yeah, he was at the belly up last year. I don't know that any of the women are actually still alive. No, they were there and they were throwing. No, there's more Titanic survivors, I think, than there are actual Tom Jones ladies. This next album is one of Woodsy's favorites, Fat Joe, The Dark Side. Oh, wow. What do you need to learn? Did Kanye do something very similar? Holla. Yeah, holla. I had to holla at the pregnant ladies. Yeah, that's right. Bow well. For my hood. Oh, boy. Bow Wow's getting older. Yeah, Bow Wow's 94. I know. What happened to Lil Bow Wow? That's the same person, right? That's Lil Bow Wow. Lil Bow Wow's grown up. Now it's his Bow Wow. He's grown up. He dropped the Lil. He's like 19 now. No, he's in his 20s for sure.
For real? Yeah, he's only like a year younger than me. Wow. For reals? For reals. Also out, Mikey may love this. What? Menudo? No. Really? I'm just kidding. It's a country artist, Blake Shelton, Drag in the River. There it is. This is not it. Blake Shelton. Uh-huh. Oh, this is featuring his fiance, Miranda Lambert. I'd listen to this. Oh, Mikey, come on. I like both of them. I like twangy country. That made me really nervous. Is this the guy that sings some beach? No. Boy, he'd really be having a theme going if that was his deal. He's the son of a bitch guy. Yeah. Shinedown is out, the crow and the butterfly. I like Shinedown. Looks like Lestat is their lead singer. He's got the long black hair. He's one of these guys.
Takes the parts of the hair with the fingernail. One of those guys. Just played some Shine Down songs that you've liked. Oh, I like Shine Down. They're good. Yeah, they sound good. LCD sound system, I can change. I like that. Sounds like Kraftwerk, one of my favorite bands of all time, Michael. It does, Wilkin. Yes, it does. Sounds like Kraftwerk. So you must like it. Kraftwerk. Yeah, you like Kraftwerk. If you will. So you probably like LCD sound system. Of course, Michael. They're great at Coachella. Wilkin is barely wearing a rubber band right now. now. Just so you know. Barely. Now onto DVDs out today. Repo Man. That's one with Jude Law and Forrest Whitaker. IP Man is out. Oh, it's the one about the internet service provider. What is Ip Man about? Is it called Ip Man? No, I don't know. Maybe it is Ip Man. I don't know. What else? It says it's about a martial artist mentor, Bruce Lee. DVD. Clash of the Titans. The new one.
Yeah, it was Sam Worthington. Heard it was a turd. Couldn't convince my wife to go in there. That's it. That's your new release system. There it is. Hillary's in. Hi, Hillary. Hi. How you doing? Howdy. Good. How are you? Our moment with you made our promo yesterday. I heard that. Very funny moment. You sent me a little copy of that. That's right. Running Hillary. That's right. Were you a big Tom Jones fan? Never. Never? No. I mean, I can appreciate his body of work, but... The new body of work don't sound so good. Yeah. I can appreciate his body. That's my favorite part about being in here. While you guys are doing new releases is Mike Easton and Wizzy Lauren, they all have headphones on. Right. So you guys are hearing this stuff. Oh, you can't hear it. And I'm standing in the corner not hearing it, but I love watching your heads bob and you all react at the same time. Mm-hmm. We've got to start turning that little speaker on for you because we don't want you to miss any of that delightfulness. That was some pretty crazy stuff. What do you got coming up? I think I'm going to play most of my songs on the MIDI today. Nice. We love it. I do like that. That stuff is good. I grabbed Band of Horses' new one, Ben Folds 5, Dead Weather, Spoon, Black Keys, maybe some Clash. You got some good stuff. Clash on for you tonight. Yeah, Clash is tonight.
