Tonight is the night. Ladies and gentlemen, tonight we will be in Mission Valley at Dave & Buster's 13 hours, 56 minutes, 50 seconds. It's the Wipeout Viewing Party tonight at Dave & Buster's. We're all getting together. We're all hanging out because Woods and Jay were selected out of 75,000 applicants to be on the nationally... syndicated TV show, Wipeout. Feeling kind of manly. Dude, I don't blame you. I just do not blame you. Boy, that show looks easy on TV. Man, doesn't it? Gosh darn. Well, it looks fun. It looks easy. Looks like you guys are having a great time. Brutal. Saw a picture on, I think it's your profile picture, right, Jay? Yes. Mine too. And Woods' profile picture as well on Facebook.
It's a photo that looks painful. It looks painful. That was, Mike, five seconds into our very first day. Oh, my gosh. I am completely upside down. And covered in mud. Yeah. Already. That's five seconds in. And I'm not kidding. His entire body is mud. Yep. And Woods looks like he's right about to fall down. Yeah. Can we tomorrow... Break down the whole thing for you. Tell you how the whole thing works. Because we haven't been able to talk about it. I can't wait. And it's freaking awesome. Oh, yeah. I cannot wait to hear the whole story. You can call us, 570-1949. Especially M1s that are going to be there tonight. M1 Nation is coming out. The M1 Army, the M1 Nation, whatever you want to call it. It's yours. An M1 is a Mikey Show listener. When you call in, you turn your radio down, get to the point, and don't cuss. It means you know the rules. And those are... The rules. Girl, how drunk is you? I need that drop, Jay. I don't know where it is. I'll find it for you. I need it. M1 screenwriter from San Diego. Hi. Hi, I am excited for tonight. I'm trying to plan my evening and I got a question. What do you got? Well, tonight, will the station be providing the full meal or will it just be the appetizers and the open bar? Look at you. Aren't you? Aren't you? Girl, how drunk is you?
Should we just pick you up, too? Should we swing by and get you? Yeah, we're supposed to get you and just take you home and give you a goodnight kiss. What? Tuck you in. What? If I'm buying you dinner, I better get a goodnight kiss. Well, we know this. We know this. We have $40 Dave & Buster power cards that will be given out throughout the night to people as prizes. And as far as I know, other than going into Dave & Buster's and watching... wipe out with your friends Woods and Jay. I don't think there's much else going on. Well, Jay had said that he was going to buy everybody drinks. Jay said he's going to buy the first round for every human being. Everybody that's there right now, I'm buying drinks. Right this second. Screenwriter, you're going to love it. It's going to be fun and we can't wait to see you, dude. Come on, Jay. Here's your prize. I am going to try to read your script on the train. Awesome. I'm going to be on a train. I'm going to read your script. All right. I hope you enjoy it, brother. I do, too, because it's hard for me to read. It's okay. This is easy. I would rather it be spoken word to me. We could arrange that, but that would be okay. Yeah. This guy's sitting on the train with me. All right, Mike. Scene one. Exterior shot. Close up. Joe walks into the bar. Exactly. Thank you, screenwriter. We love you, man. I love you guys. M1 Castile from Escondido. What up? Good morning, guys. Good morning.
I just want to let you guys know I'm excited for the night. I got my wife. She's getting off work early just so we go to Dave & Buster's and cheer on. Hollywood! Hollywood! Hollywood! Yeah. It's going to be great. I'll tell you this, though. Woodsy is all freaked out. He's all freaked out because he's embarrassed that he's going to look dumb and blah, blah, blah. It's not so much that. It's not embarrassing. You know, listen. I look dumb on a daily basis, and it doesn't bother me that much. But I think it's the fact that... there's going to be people around me that are going to be like, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, pointing at me. That's going to be, maybe I'll get a VIP table. I don't think was, I mean, this is just me. I don't think they're going to be doing that because I think that most people are going to be sort of stunned at the fact that they're looking up at the television and they're you and J.R. That's kind of.
That's cool. Surreal and cool and surreal. So I don't think people are really going to be like, oh, you're a moron. I think people are going to be like, holy cow, that's crazy. That's a reaction that I would enjoy saying. And that's what I think you'll get. That'd be fun. Hey, thanks for the call, Castile. We love you. No problem. Love you guys. 570-1949. Text 949mikey at gmail.com. Let's see. Word of the day, factory. When you hear us say factory, between now and 10, And you're Caller 9. You get the same prize we had yesterday. Big prize. Two pairs of tickets to two different concerts. Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow, August 2nd at Cricket. And then we're going to send you the L.A. Coliseum for L.A. Rising, Rage Against the Machine, Muse, Rise Against, and Lauryn Hill. So pretty cool. Be listening for me to say the word factory. I will work it into a sentence. And then you've got to be Caller 9. And you win. Yesterday?
I would say, was a very, very pivotal day and a big day for San Diegans. Charger football is back. Press conferences yesterday. Flash bulbs. Lights going off. All of the press there. Woodsy was there. Woodsy was asking questions and talking to Norv Turner. It was incredible. The atmosphere, I'm guessing, Woods, must have been pretty badass. Electric, man. For me? Dude. Yeah. It was awesome. I'd never, you know, I've never gotten to do anything like that before. And next thing you know, I'm sitting there and Norv's five feet in front of me and guys are firing questions at him. And I'm looking at him because I've known Norv a long time. Right. He was coordinator in Dallas where I grew up. Guy was winning Super Bowls left and right. Right. And I'm there firing questions at him. It was awesome. So you got to ask him about Takeo? Yep.
As I said, I think the one thing that a veteran player like him brings is the great understanding of how much you have to do off the field to get ready, the preparation part of it, the leadership skills there. And then he brings a real physical presence. I know there's a lot of people, you know, talk about that leadership, that who's your guy that brings that on defense. Well, certainly. When Bob Sanders runs downhill and tackles the tailback for a three-yard loss, I think everyone gets excited. And I think Takeo brings some of that physical presence on the inside that will get everyone's attention. You think so? Yeah. That was fun for me, man. Bob Sanders, Eric Weddle, Takeo Spikes, Sean Phillips. This is this defense. Quinton Jammer, I think we got a defense. Had a defense last year. I think the most, you know, one of the things that Norv was talking about yesterday was there was a couple really cool things he said. Number one, he goes, listen, you guys talk, I love to talk about systems. Can this guy play in this system? Can this guy play in that system? Look, a good football player is a good football player. Doesn't matter where you put him. If you hear people talking about systems, that's an excuse. A good football player can play anywhere. Yeah. And it was rad.
Yesterday was a big day. They re-signed Eric Weddle to a monster deal. Monster deal. Wait till you hear this. Five years, $40 million, $19 in guaranteed money. It's an average of $8 million a year. It's a $13 million signing bonus. Now, there was a guy in there in the press conference. I don't know who he was. Older gentleman. And he asks Norif. He goes, so. Why? Why re-sign Eric Weddle to that contract? It's got everybody scratching their heads. And Minerva looked at him and he goes, hmm. Well, guy had two picks last year. He dropped six other ones. This is a 26-year-old guy that's on the verge of superstardom. So why wouldn't we get him and lock him down? It was rad to be in there and listening to, you know, the Chargers head coach talking about his team. Yeah. You know. Yesterday, Woodsy told me about it. And, you know, you can call us and tell us what you think. 570-194-9 is the number. You can call us and tell us what you think. But I asked the same question. Woodsy goes, you know, this came fresh off the wire. He goes, listen to this, pal. Chargers just locked up Eric Weddle. And he is now, didn't you say he was like the highest paid? Yeah. Yeah, he is the highest paid safety. He's the highest paid safety. Now, I love Eric Weddle. I think Eric Weddle is awesome.
And I think he's a solid player. I just was kind of wondering, too. I was like, oh, wow. Is he the highest paid defensive backer slash safety in the league? Is he really? I don't know. I mean, I haven't necessarily seen that yet. But apparently, they do. And they're professionals. We're just the dudes that watch TV. Well, you know, again, there was a market for him. There was a few other teams that wanted him. Now, it's a lose-lose for the Chargers, right? If they don't sign him, well, how the hell did you let Eric Weddle walk away? You moved up in the draft to take him. Why would you let him walk? Sign him. That's been the beef here in this city is, well, good players leave. You know, Cromartie left, Tomlinson left. Sign him. When this is a young guy. And if he dropped six interceptions last year, that's one thing North said they want him to work on. They're like, hey, this guy can catch the ball. He's going to have eight to ten picks. But he just catches the ball. That's it. Oh, man. Which would be phenomenal. Here's what I hope. I hope that that happens. And I hope that an $8 million a year contract doesn't get between his ears. Right. And he doesn't go, I have to catch everything thrown my way. I have to catch everything thrown my way. I'm getting $8 million a year. I'm the highest paid safety in the league. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh.
And I just hope that that doesn't mess with this dome. There's some guys that it does. And there's a lot of guys that are like, all right, cool. I got what I wanted. Now I can focus on football. I don't have to worry about my family. I don't have to worry about paying bills. I'm good to go. M1 Kevin from Carlsbad. What's up? Hey, guys. How's it going? It's good. It is very good. I'm so excited for football. My prayers have been answered. I will have something to do this fall and winter. I'm just really excited, too, because most of our guys, we're starting to lock them down. They've been in the system for multiple years. And Rivers said he's been working out for weeks with the guys. A lot of other teams haven't even been working out. They're having to juggle free agents and figure out what the heck they're going to do right now. And I just think we're in the best situation where we are deciding whether we're going to keep or add. There's not really going to be a big loss. The only guy I hope we can keep is Malcolm Floyd. Yeah, no doubt. After that, I think everyone else, well, you know, you've had your time. See you later. We're moving on. And I think since we've been working out so long, I think it's going to be a great year. I'm really excited. Yeah, dude. I'll tell you, too, something that Norv said. You know, yesterday the guys all showed up, and they did some conditioning. And he said, I'll tell you, we are behind. We're behind. But 31 other teams are behind, too. Everybody's behind. But he said, our guys are in outstanding shape. They are all in outstanding shape. They look good. They're conditioned. They're well-conditioned.
You know, I think going 13-3 a couple years ago, you know, not making the Super Bowl that year, not playing well in the playoffs. I think last year not making the playoffs. There's an energy and there's a fire, I think, with a lot of these guys that they're like, all right, this crap ain't happening again. And also, this is pretty important. They did sign three of their eight draft picks yesterday. Second rounder Jonas Mouton, their tackle Stephen Schilling and Andrew Gachkar. their sixth-round linebacker. Oh, seventh-round linebacker. Definitely would, and the big thing is, too, is that we're in a great situation where, not like a lot of teams were, a lot of our rookies don't really have to come in and start. They just have to play special teams. That's a good call. So they're behind. Yeah, they're behind, but guess what? They're not going to have to punch in and be starters day one. They're going to learn how to cover kicks, and that's going to be what they're going to have to catch up to speed, and we've got all preseason to do that. Yeah, we've got a new special teams coach, a new defensive coordinator. I mean, there's a lot of kinks to be worked out for sure, but... You've got to like our chances, for sure. Compared to the rest of the league, we're golden. We're golden. Hey, thank you, Kevin. I appreciate the call. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show. Woodsy is our sports guy, and he's 36. L.O.B. is our assistant producer, and she's blonde.
Blue-eyed and the only female on the show now. She's just making me horny. Okay. And she's wearing an I Love San Diego t-shirt right now. Nice. You may know her also from her work in the Jerome's Furniture commercial. You may know her from her work in the Obama promo that was nationally done. And you may know her from her work as a stand-up comic locally. And you also may know her for dating her boyfriend, Matt Commerce, otherwise known as BFMC. Which, speaking of BFMC, M1 Cam from Oceanside. Good morning. Hey, so I was on Facebook yesterday, and even though BFMC's already on his way to, you know, enough to voice, I noticed they keep doing kind of polls and stuff to see, you know, who's going to win out. And BFMC was, like, just a couple of votes, like, beneath the main dude and the other dude. And so when I voted for him, he was, like, you know, pumped up to break even. How do we do this? What do we do, and how do we get... I want to get M1 Nation on this now to vote for BFMC. So what do you do, Cam? Do you just go to Facebook.com and look up? I think it's the NBC page. NBC. Yeah, San Diego. I figure if L.O.B. and Mikey's show put links to the NBC stuff, keep it fresh in M1's mind. Yeah, keep it real fresh. Maybe just every other day or so, just kind of see what they're doing. Yes.
Since we had to like NBC in order to vote for him the first time, they keep sending us updates now. Okay. All right. Well, then, it's NBC San Diego, like the page on Facebook, and vote for Matt Commerce. Yeah. So far, he's doing pretty good, but, you know, keep it fresh. Nice. Make sure that it's a landslide. Let's stuff this ballot box, man. Let's stuff that thing. Thank you. Show them what we got. Our producer is Jay. He's 48 years of age. And our phone screener is Chris. Cross! That's Cross. Yeah, so L.O.B., can you... That will be your thing. We'll have you get a link on our Facebook page to BFMC, and we will be voting for BFMC. What? Why? I don't even know what... I voted yesterday because I saw somebody else voted, but I don't even know where it is, but I'll look for it. Well, I just posted the page for NBC San Diego. Oh, look at you. Little angel in there. Well, Matt, I just want Matt to do well. Well, you know, that's why I'm looking at Lauren right now, and Lauren's like, look, I don't know what you want from me. What do you want me to do? Guy's got his own career, all right? Guy can take care of himself.
I don't know how many times he's out of his gigs promoting the Mikey show. Wow. Hey, listen. I will stand by my man. And that's my deal. You talking about me? Oh, wow. You get jealous in there, Woods? A little bit. Talking about my man, Matt Commerce. Perfect. Washboard abs. Washboard abs, bro. Fair enough. If you love him, Melody. He is a good friend and a lover. Take care of him. That's right, Ellen Lee. Ever had yellow fingertips from smoking cigarettes? Yeah. Think anybody's ever kissed Tammy Wynette and it tastes like menthol? She's ever woken up with bruised ribs? Oh, well. Stand by your man, not kneel by your man. Wow.
That's good, too, though. Here we go. Shock job. Howard Isbell. Jason R. Stern. My brother sent me this, and I do not know if it's real, but I've been getting a lot of people mentioning it. And I'm talking about the Casey Anthony latex rubber mask that went on eBay. Was at $2,000. What? At 9 p.m. Eastern. But the winning bid has come in. And the winning bid was for $999,000. $999,000. What? $900. All nines. Yes. You just said $99,000. $100,000. No.
No, I didn't. Let me say it again. $999,900. Well, how do you read it? Yeah, you're right. $999,900. No, that's not the way you said it. That's not the way you said it. That's how you should have said it. $999,900. Yeah, that's correct. $999. You're both wrong. Let's just call it a mil. A dollar under a million. Let's just call it what it is. Crazy. That's my question. It's on eBay, man. Here's what you do. You get somebody else to bid on it just to be outrageous to your friend so you know he's never going to pay. And it's your buddy so you can do whatever he wants. Do you think Jay's ever run an eBay scam real good? I've actually got an email from them telling me that they knew I was running an eBay scam. Oh.
Oh, my God. From selling coffee cups. From here. From here. Actual headphones, no. I was selling something, but I wasn't getting the price that I wanted. In high school, when eBay didn't exist. When you were in high school, when eBay didn't exist. It was called EJ. EJ. The internet didn't exist when he was in high school. I was not getting the price I wanted, so I had my daughter. bid on it to drive the price up. But they knew it was from the same computer. So then I learned that I had to do it across town. Hey, Matty, you got a computer lab at your school? I'm going to need you to round up 12 friends. And on your lunch break, y'all get in there and bid that sucker. And if you don't, you're grounded. I'll take your car, take your license, whatever. I was suspended, I think, for a week. I couldn't participate. I'm not the only one. Come on, people. My goodness. How often are you wheeling and dealing on there? Oh, I am a big-time seller on eBay. It's like an embezzler. I know. I sold all my autograph stuff that I had collected throughout my career. Sold yours, too, Mike. Yep. Sold all your autographs. Everything you ever got autographed that was in this Stidia has been shipped to Pennsylvania, Florida, Connecticut, and Delaware.
Unbelievable. It's outstanding. Well, who would wear a Casey Anthony Halloween mask? Why are you saying that? Because it's morbid? It's ridiculous. Like, the morbid Halloween costume is... Same people that wore the OJ mask and the same people that wore the... What was the blonde girl dyed... Natalie Holloway? No. No. Nicole Simpson. Let me think of it. Okay. You know the worst one I ever saw? Do you remember Payne Stewart, the golfer? Yeah. Died in the plane. They lost oxygen and the plane just crashed. So some clown out in Dallas one Halloween is walking around in the knickers. You know, he's got the whole outfit on with blood all over him. Oh, gosh. I looked at him. I was like, gross.
D, dude. You just said D. Oh, come on. People were dealing with pain and suffering in different ways. It's ridiculous. That's how he was dealing with it. That was how he was in mourning, by dressing up like the dead golfer, Payne Stewart. I was thinking Anna Nicole Smith. Anna Nicole Smith. You know, it's those people. It's a Yahoo. Clowns. My favorite costume was the, what was the Crocodile Hunter guy, Steve Irwin? Steve Irwin. Oh, my God. Instead of, I saw a bunch of costumes that year where they had just like a stingray stuck in his heart. Yeah. But this one, the guy was a stingray with a little Steve Irwin doll on his tail dragging behind him. That got woods a little bit. That got woods a tiny bit. He started to laugh. Alex Trebek chased down a woman. that robbed his hotel room. And we have all of the information on it. And I think Adam Levine, lead singer of Maroon 5, is a clown because of what he said. I'll play you what he said. More than likely.

When I have to say smart things on the spot, I'm like... And Jay. Please grow up on FM 94.9. Alex Trebek back in the day recording Jeopardy promos. Always good for some lives. So keep watching Jeopardy.
24 hours a day and call this number. You dumb son of a... You don't watch it 24 hours a day. Hi, I'm Alex Trebek. Huh? Wait a minute. Run that by me again. I don't understand that. I didn't pause. All right, let's start cutting. There's a daily cash prize of $1,000 and... Dollars, dollars, dollars, and dollars. Son of a... Somebody gonna tell me why? Here's a little hint. Pick up. Take one. $25,000. It's all on the same tape. How are they going to lose it? $25,000. $50,000. $25,000. $50,000. $100,000. Dollars. Dollars. Dollars. Well, I'm not quite ready, so I'm going to do it now. Dollars. It's for you. No. Call now and play, phone driver. You. You. You. You. And them, too. Minus the cursing.
That's pretty accurate to what it sounds like to record a spot. I mean, Jay knows it's the bane of my existence. Is it though? Because you're one take Jay. Yeah. It shouldn't be. It's a deal of the time because I feel like, you know, I get this across. I get this information across and I got to be genuine about it. And I really believe it, which is true. Right. But I'm having to do it six times in a row, which is unnatural. Right. For sure. It's unnatural. Yeah, if you've got to cut like five spots or something, it takes a while. And you've got to build that energy every time. It's a learning experience for L.O.B. and I, too. Oh, yeah. But I have to do, it takes me longer to do one than it takes Mike to do six. True story. Well, here's the deal with Alex Trebek. The reason that he's in the news today is because, first of all, the guy's 71, which I didn't realize. 71 years old. And he snapped his Achilles tendon.
Because he was chasing down a burglar that ran off with his cash and jewelry. So here's what happened. He comes back to his hotel room in San Francisco where he was staying last night. And there's a 56-year-old woman stealing his junk. So while he's chasing her down the hallway, he twists. He falls. Snaps the Achilles in one of his feet. Ouch. It's actual audio. Well, they got her. Happened at 2.30 in the morning. Trebek, what are you doing coming home at 2.30? What are you up to? What are you doing out there, pal? What are you doing on San Francisco at 2.30 a.m.? Just Asian tan real good? He was having a drink or something probably downstairs. So they arrested this woman, Lucinda Moyers. Felony, burglary, and possession of stolen property. Yeah, feast. She put the stuff. Here's what she took, by the way.
A bracelet that was given to him by his mom. So he was not letting this thing go. And she stuck all the stuff next to this ice machine in a corridor in the hotel. Now, all the stuff except for some cash and the bracelet got recovered right away. But I guess he's speaking out about it because he's hosting this thing called the National Geographic World Championship Quiz for students at the Google headquarters. In Mountain View, which is right where I grew up. Very cool. And anyway, he's in good spirits. He's reassuring the crowds that came out to see him. He says he's doing all right. Guy's been doing Jeopardy since 1984. Phenomenal. One of the best shows on TV. I love Jeopardy. Can't watch it because I don't understand one question. I don't understand one. I'm not saying that I'm not being flippant.
I'm not exaggerating. I mean to say that when Jeopardy's on television, I don't get one question correct. Are you a Mexican or a Mexicant? Mexicant. Now, you know why I think, Woodsy? I didn't go to college. I think a lot of that is things that you learn in college. It's useless knowledge. I mean, a lot of the time. And you guys know how my brain works when we play games really quick. Yeah. I'm a good, I can kind of speed read a little bit. The deal, I'm shooting out answers. Now, sometimes they're wrong, but a lot of times they're right. Don't you have to wait until Alex is done asking the question? Well, if I was on the game, I would. But when I'm at home playing against my wife or in college, we used to play every day, my buddy and I, every day. We'd keep score. And I would just destroy this kid. Destroy him. To me, it's always like about French poets and stuff. Now, those, you just let those go. You just shoot out a guess.
I wouldn't even know a guess. I wouldn't guess. I don't know. I don't have a guess. Mollier. Yeah, Mollier. From the Breakfast Club. You know what I like? I like a good pork Mollier in tortillas. Some warm tortillas. Make a little nice Mollier. Did you ever see Will Ferrell playing Alex Trebek? Yes. One of the greatest skits ever. With John Connery on there. Turd Ferguson. Speaking of Sean Connery, by the way, he's one of the people that I have a useless celebrity fact about. Did you know this about Sean Connery? So he was James Bond for years, okay? Dude started losing his hair when he was 21. So in all the 007 movies, toupee. No way. It's a toupee, bro. No way. Yeah. Toupee. James Bond had a freaking toupee. Oh, looks real good. You went to Maury. Exactly. I want my money. I want my money, Morgan. He's an incorrigible ball buster. Let's see. Piers Morgan. So I told you that this comment by Adam Levine bothered me. He's on Piers Morgan. And listen to this. The reason I like you, apart from the fact that I actually genuinely like your music, the reason I like you...
is when you tweet things like this. When people complain about paparazzi, I want to slap them in the face. You signed up for this dipshit fuck up. Hoorah! It's a little harsh. Yeah, but thank God we got somebody in the music business who recognizes it's a two-way street, this, isn't it? It is a two-way street. And also, it's a two-way street as far as the way you look at it. Because people do want to be famous for whatever reason. For me, I wanted to just be a successful singer. I think it had less to do with fame. Yes. You didn't want to be famous. What you wanted to be was a singer. And so fame just came with it. You didn't want to be successful in any kind of commercial way. So when Mercury Records came to you and offered you a record contract, what I'm curious about is why you didn't say to them, well, wait a minute. Does this involve videos? Because videos lead to notoriety, which leads to... Celebrity, I'm not interested in that. All I'm about is this right here, the voice. That's the only thing I'm interested in. I don't want fame. I don't want fortune. I don't want celebrity. I just want to sing. Well, if that was true, Jack Nail, you'd still be in the clubs playing clubs, and you would have said to all of your mates in Maroon 5 that it was going to be Maroon 4, and you were going to do your own thing.
This whole concept of, well, you asked for it. That's what it's like saying you asked for. It's the same concept to me as a girl wearing a short skirt and somebody saying she was asking for it. No, she wasn't. She's got beautiful legs. So she was wearing a skirt that accentuated her beautiful legs. She wasn't asking to be raped. Just like. these people like a guy from blink 182 that got into blink 182 and all he's trying to do is eat breakfast with his kid and a paparazzi is going hey your wife's a fat ugly pig which they do so that they could get a reaction from the person and then take a photo of it you know gremlins that's what paparazzi are gremlins ghouls you think there's any decent paparazzi out there you think that's a viable viable career choice. I think that there's probably some paparazzi that are alright. Some of the celebrities that work best with them are the celebrities that stop and give them their photo. Yeah, they just say, alright man, here I am. Now, I mean, the guys like Sean Penn and that are like, they see a camera and it's a punch. You know what I mean? That's wrong too. I think that you're right. I think there's cool paparazzi. There's probably some paparazzi that are just doing their thing. But you gotta understand, they're competing.
Oh, yeah, big time. They're all competing for dough, right? Big time. And so I don't know this for a fact, but what I will say is if they're in a competition, they know that they're going to win out by doing what they do. But I'll still give you this. Maybe there's some nice ones, right? There's some cool paparazzi. Okay. The ghoulish thing about it to me is the people that go, hey, listen, I'll give you your picture. Let me give you, you know, let me give you a picture. Just do me a favor, man. Just don't take a picture of my kid. Yeah. And they still take a picture of the kid. For sure. And anything else. But, you know, if you're going to sign up for this job and you're going to be on television or you're going to be doing music or you're going to be an actor, there's going to be a certain amount of this that comes with it. A lot of people that start hating it and when it starts to consume them and own them, they bring it out. They brought it on themselves. Sometimes that's not the case. But to complain about it so passionately, I think, is irresponsible because there are a lot of people with real problems.
Okay, SG&T, sounds good, not true. Everyone's got problems, pal. Everybody has problems. And everything's relative. So when you're talking about people that have problems compared to Christina Aguilera, there's always going to be a kid that's starving in Haiti that's got it way worse than her. Okay? And when you're talking about a person that has got cancer, okay, so you go, hey, what about the person dying of leukemia? And you want me to hear... Christina Aguilera complaining about paparazzi. Right. Well, when you talk about that person dying of leukemia, well, what about the people in Darfur, bro? Please. There's always something. And by the way, I agree with him about the whole consequence thing. Some of these starlets, they do. They bring it on themselves. Absolutely. If you know that paparazzi exist and you get out of a car and you don't have any panties on and you're going to show your thing. Hoo-ha. Hoo-ha. Hoo-ha. there's going to be consequence to that. They're going to take a picture of it. I mean, that's just not wisdom. There's no wisdom in that. But what I'm talking about is some guy that's on, that's an actor on Grey's Anatomy and he's trying to have lunch with his kid and they're taking pictures. This guy's not a drunken starlet, but they're taking pictures of, and they're going, dude, can you just be cool, man? It's my kid. It's my kid. And all they did, by the way, was do,
what anybody would do if they were born with a gift. Just ask yourself if you were born with a gift, what would you do? If you could sing like Mariah Carey, what are you going to do? You're going to go, you know what? I think I'm going to be a barista the rest of my life. You're going to be an accountant. Yeah. Sit in a cube. I'm going to sit in a cube. Crunch numbers. Yeah. I'm going to pound the phones all day long. Right. No, man. If you've got talent, you're going to use it. L-O-B. is one of the most extraordinary comedians and talented impressionist. She was working at the belly up, but that was not your dream. Your dream was not to work at the belly up. Your dream was to break into show business. You know, that doesn't give somebody the right to go, well, look, you signed up for it. So now when you're having breakfast with your boyfriend. I'm going to start calling names to get a reaction out of you, get a reaction out of your boyfriend. Now, this is a smaller scale. We live in San Diego, but in L.A., that's what they do, man. Yeah, Tori Spelling was going off on the same thing. I guess she got into a car accident over this crap. Just last month, Tori got into a car accident evading paparazzi who were stalking her at elementary school drop-off. She hit a wall, as seen in this TMZ photo.
Was the car accident actually caused by the paparazzi? The bottom line is the car accident was caused by me. Was it induced because of paparazzi? Yes. He was trying to take pictures. I was trying to back out to get away. I didn't want him to take a picture of the kids getting out. I didn't want him to take a picture of the school. And I hit a wall. It must have shaken you up. Yeah, I was frozen. My first thing was checking my kids and make sure they were fine. The second thing was I was really embarrassed because I felt like... I feel like I try really hard to fit in and to be a normal mom, and here I am bringing this upon the other moms. Now, my deal, regardless of what you think of Tori Spelling, who cares? I'm just going, you're taking a kid to school? You're going to take pictures of the school the kid goes to? It's kind of nasty. It compromises a kid's safety. Donna Martin graduates. Yeah, Donna Martin graduates, bro. Does she not have reality shows, though, with her kids on it? I know, dude. I mean... That's a double-edged sword to all this, man. There really is, because a lot of these celebrities, when they need paparazzi, they want them. You know, when they need them, they want them. Now, you can cross a line. There's definitely a line you can cross. But boy, I tell you, if Tori Spelling went to lunch and nobody took a picture of her, I bet she'd be like...
What the hell's going on? Nobody's taking a picture of me. I agree with you guys. If you have a reality show and you're putting it off there, you can't get mad at anything that the reality show is about. If you have it, don't get mad. Case in point, Kat Von D. Kat Von D is the chick from Inked. Is that it? Inked? She's a tattoo artist, but she was dating Jesse James until recently, and they broke up. And Kat Von D goes on Good Morning America, or excuse me, Good Day LA, walks out of the interview. Why? Because they ask her about the relationship.
I'm just getting the tweet in that Kat Von D just put out there, and she wrote, Dear Good Day LA, thanks for the waste of a perfectly good morning. Lack of compassion and respect for each other never fails to disappoint me. And I would say to you, Kat, bring it up with TLC, your company who sent the clip of your reality show with Jesse in it. We were just trying to promote your show. And have we other clips to show? Perhaps. I don't know. But if you're putting your life on a reality show, and then you're not willing to talk about it, it seems kind of... Contradictory. We sympathize. Hypocritical. That you broke up. I agree. Hundred. If it's on a reality show, anything on that reality show is up for grabs. Fair game. Yeah. LA Inc. is what she does. LA Inc. Now, the only time that I would augment that is when it has to do with safety. You know? Sure. If it has to do with safety, you don't do something that has to do with safety. Good call. You know, listen. You put your kids on TV. Don't be... upset if people want to then take pictures of your kids because you've effectively made them a celebrity as well. But that never, ever, ever gives the right to a paparazzi to say evil crap, which is what they do. They should never be goading them into getting a reaction. And dude, they do and say gnarly stuff. Of course we were going to ask about it. That's the clip that they sent us.
If you're doing a reality show and you're putting your life out there, you better be willing. I did a little reality show with my husband. If people want to ask me about our fights, you better be willing to talk about it because we did fight on camera. That's part of the deal. Like, it's part of you're going to be out there, put yourself out there. Then you want promotion for it. She's here to promote her show on our show. I feel badly that we're spending more time on the misbehaving guests than on the guests who were actually showed in state. That's awesome, man. They were hot mad. I don't blame them. Nor do I. I don't blame them. I mean, come on. The chick has a right to be upset about it. If you're on a reality show, you talk about it. It's out there, you talk about it. So this was pretty funny. Jimmy Kimmel. Last night, Jimmy Kimmel's got Harrison Ford on the show because he's promoting Cowboys and Aliens. And it's directed by Jon Favreau, the dude that did Iron Man. And Jon Favreau agrees. to do this thing for Jimmy Kimmel. Jimmy had an idea. He thought, what if we have John direct a segment where Harrison Ford is in his agent's office and Chewbacca walks in? This is what it would sound like. So it's called what? Air Force 1-2. That's good. And they take over the plane again, right? Great. I love it. As long as they can make the deal.
Come in. What are you doing here, you son of a bitch? Oh, cut the s**t. You think you can walk in here and say you're sorry after what you did? I'm done with that Star Wars crap, and I'm done with you. Haven't you heard? I'm in Cowboys and Aliens. Daniel Craig's my Wookiee bitch now. Get the hell out of here. Out. Get out. Out of here. Get out. I don't want to talk to you. Get out of here. And don't come back. She was my Wookiee. She's still spinning up hairballs. Not bad, right? That's pretty funny. I love Chewbacca. I really did. I loved it. Wait. Yeah. Jay. One more time with the Chewbacca. That was me. That was you. Please, one more time. Thank you. Thank you very much. Man, we got a big show for you today. There's a town called Abbeville, Louisiana, where they just found bones that were stuck in a chimney of an old bank. Turned out to be some dude that was missing 27 years. Disappeared when he was 22 years old, but his family didn't report him missing because they knew that he was kind of a delinquent and that he was usually in trouble with the police. And they thought, oh.
I don't want him to get arrested. And they also knew that he would be gone for long periods of time and stuff. At the time, he was wanted for possessing a stolen car. And so anyway, they just found this guy and were able to identify him. It appears he died in this chimney. Don't know why he was in there, but it appears that he died in this chimney from dehydration and starvation. In Texas, there's a guy that was going to a high school in Texas, playing basketball. Turns out he wasn't a teenager. He was 23 years old. And when you're 23 years old and you steal somebody's identity so that you can play basketball at a high school, you might not want to have sex with a 15-year-old girl because that will also get you on felony charges of sexual assault and tampering with government records. So this guy is in trouble. Woodsy, what's going on in sports? Well, the Padres lost last night to the Diamondbacks 4-3. Drop a heartbreaker.
It's been a tough, tough year for the Padres so far. Also coming across the wire this morning is Heath Bell expects to be traded to the Texas Rangers by tomorrow, my friend. Tomorrow. Oh, gosh. Yep. Also, the Diamondbacks will take on the Padres tonight at Petco Park. It's actually this afternoon, 1235. It's Dustin Mosley. I'm sorry. It's Matt Latos against Daniel Hudson. The biggest malcontent in the NFL that whines, cries, is always in trouble. He skips stuff. He doesn't work out. He doesn't play. He doesn't play hard. He's going to be a New England Patriot. Oh, my. I think it's a Belichick ego bit, man. I think he's like, I can change him. Yeah, look what I did for Corey Dillon. I can change this guy. I had Randy Moss. Yeah, I had Randy Moss, and he played pretty well here. All right. We'll see. If it works out, it's a pretty good move. Woods and Jay were selected out of 75,000 people to be on the show Wipeout, and their episode premieres tonight on ABC. How about that? Whoops! There it is! And we are doing a viewing party of this with all M1s. It's the latest I have stayed up in a long, long time. High school. School night.
It's tonight from 7 to 9. And we're also going to have some Dave & Buster's power cards we're giving away out there. But yes, it'll be a late night. Well, what time do you think you're going to crawl into your bed? I am going home directly after the show today to get into bed. I've already alerted my wife, Rebecca. No babies. Oh, not today? I didn't say making babies, Jay. I didn't say that. I said to keep the babies out of the room. And so, you know, I'm going to put the little ear plugs in, the little eye mask, and I'm going to go betty-bye. The reason I ask, Mike, is I noticed that you have bought a new comforter, a blanket. So I wanted to know when you will be able to crawl under that fresh new Tommy Bahama down alternative blanket that you bought recently. Okay.
Now, this is a picture at Exhibit A that Lauren and I would like to submit into evidence of a Tommy Bahama down alternative blanket. It was sent to me this morning and to Lauren this morning by Rebecca R. Esparza. Well, my wife wrote me an email this morning asking if her and I could go to the movie tomorrow night. Oh. And I said to her, well, we can go. Listen, just want you to consider the day. You know, tomorrow I'm supposed to go right after our program. I'm going to go meet with Orlando Hudson. And then after that, have a doctor's appointment. And then after that, we would be going to this movie. And tonight we're going to be out of Dave and Buster's. This is going to be a long night for me. I'm not going to get a lot of sleep. So you figured you needed a new comforter from Tommy Bahama? No. What I figured was that that would be a good opportunity as I was responding to her email to ask her. And by the way.
L.O.B. and Woods just showed me some picture of some Tommy Bahama foolishness. And I want to know, did you actually send them to them or are they doing a bit? Now, I haven't heard back from her. Okay. We're not doing a bit. No. You are not. It's from Rebecca R. Esparza at Hotmail.com. I cannot believe that Rebecca R. Esparza at Hotmail.com would A. purchase a comforter from Tommy Bahama. Well, she knows what her man likes. You know what I mean? She's a good wife. She knows your likes and dislikes. Well, she found your wish list on Amazon and was just trying to, oh, I'll do something nice. Oh, my gosh. I'll fulfill his wish list. Yeah. So listen, that came from my wife? Yeah. Yes. Get her on the phone. You're going to need to come clean before the entire audience right now. Listen, it's okay. It's just a store. The body of the email says, do with it what you will. Monstrous. I don't know about that. We will be posting the picture on our Facebook, by the way. Thanks, Rebecca. You're an angel. How could she? Well, I've got two issues. Number one, I can almost guarantee you, she didn't pay enough for that. And it's not going to be comfy enough for me.
I'm very particular about bedding. This was on your wish list, so I'm sure it'll be just what you want. It wasn't on my wish list. Yes, it was. I don't wear... Dude, not only do you wear Tommy Bahama, you wrap yourself in Tommy Bahama when you sleep. You sleep in it. You sleep in it. You bathe in it. You're ensconced in Tommy Bahama. You eat Tommy Bahama cakes. You have Tommy Bahama gum. This was a joke that started years ago. Because I wore one shirt. I didn't even wear it to work. I announced after coming home from a vacation in Hawaii that I'd worn a Tommy Bahama shirt. And Ashley on the old show said, Tommy Bahama, huh, Mike? Bet that's what you wear all the time. And then it suddenly turned into eyewear. Tommy Bahama and Sienna brought it over here like a disease. She brought it over here and this has continued to disappear. If the Hawaiian shirt fits. Right. If we go over the evidence, there's shirts, there's towels, there's freaking chairs, there's alternative, down alternative blankets, man. DABs. You got DABs in your house. Rumor is you are Tommy Bahama. Correct. You've never both been seen at the same place at the same time. Good point, Jay. I don't wear Tommy Bahama.
a palm tree tattooed on your forearm. Yeah, with TB underneath it. That is not a true story. Your license plate is TB man number one. Really? With the music, Jay? It just brings it back for you, doesn't it? No, it doesn't. Hi, darling. Hi, sweetheart. Is this Mrs. Bahama? This is my wife, Rebecca. Bahama. Rebecca B. Rebecca B. Did we have to replace the comforter? Did Jake pee on the comforter we had to replace it? Well, you know, last night I went shopping with Lori to get some things for her new house. Oh. It was a really good deal, and I know how much you love it. And so I got it. Yeah. You know I don't love it. Don't you? Don't you.
I don't love it. Yes, you do! She wouldn't waste her money on something you didn't love. Right. She's very frugal. Yeah. She keeps the money in the house. When you were buying that, was there no shame in you? Was there no part of you? Was there no part of you that went, I've done bits to him about Tommy Bahama. She does bits with me. I know. I figured, you know, once it was on the bed and you were enjoying it so much, you wouldn't even know. Well, you would know because of its luxuriousness. Its signature TB feel. Yep. How dare all of you. Oh, my God. You really bought Tommy Bahama stuff. It was a great deal. For you, dude. At least the collection. Yes. It's the last thing you needed for your bed. When we went to Hawaii the last time. We were out because I needed to get sandals, flip flops. That was before we left. And it was before we left. And she, you know, she's my shopper. Right. So we go together and I go, well, pick out what looks cool. Right. So she picks out this pair and she brings them over and I go, oh, that's funny because they're Tommy Bahama. And she goes, what? And I go, what, what? It's Tommy Bahama. And she goes.
Oh, babe, please. Really? And I looked at her like, really? And she goes, we're in Hawaii. Nobody knows. And I go, it's the principle. I can't do that. I can't. I can't. It's forever been ruined. But that's what every good personal shopper does. That's right. Things that are specific. To your wants and needs. They meet your preferences. How dare you? How dare you? Is that going on our bed? Yeah. Let me tell you. If I have to take this joke the rest of my life, that comforter better be so comfortable. You probably slept on it last night. You don't even know. Did I, babe? No. Well, it'll feel, when you crawl inside of it, it's going to feel like home for you, pal. Okay? Oh, boy. It's creepy. Our bed is a cat box, by the way. Jake has now peed in that bed. Oh, yeah. He's peed in here a few times. Oh, no. Well, he sleeps with us, and he's, you know, he's working on the overnight. Hold? Yeah. Should we shame him?
No. My goodness. Oh, for goodness sake. It was just a joke. Don't you know a joke when you hear one? Listen, babe, I know that you're into timeouts. I know that you're into that sort of thing. I was thinking there's this new Psychology Today article that came out. Psychology Today, you say? Yes, Psychology Today. It's a new article that came out that says that the best thing for bedwetting children. is to take them aside, put your index finger right up to their face and say, you listen to me, you dirty little bed peer. You do that again and you're out of here. And you were adopted. Well, also you make them stand in the yard until they dry off. Exactly. Spray them with a hose. You spray them with a hose. Do you want the hose again? Didn't think so. No, he's only four. That's the way I learned. Yeah, Rebecca came in to the bedroom last night, pulled the curtain back. Rebecca came into the bedroom last night and said, your son is crying. And I said, really? Which one? Which one of my children is crying? Now, when she's had it, let me tell you, when she's had it, it means it's bad. And she goes, well.
I'll let you guess which one. And I said, is it my son, Ryan? Yes, it is. It's Ryan crying. And I said, what is he crying about? And she said, what isn't he crying about? And I wanted to say something clever back. So I was going to say, I don't know, eating. And then I thought, no, he could conceivably be crying about eating. And I told her that. And she goes, that's what he was crying about. Wow. He cries. That little cry cry. He cries. And if Sienna were here right now, she would be screaming at me. I'm telling you, that child, he's one of the cutest kids in the world. He's so sweet. He's so gentle and sensitive. He's so sensitive. I mean, you look at him wrong and he starts crying. You know what he cried about? True story. Do you know what?
Ryan cried about over the weekend. Rebecca, and this is, you're going to think, oh, this is an exaggeration for radio, blah, blah, blah. He cried because she did not, and you're going to go, well, it's impossible. He's not, he's only two. He cried because Rebecca did not properly say goodbye to him. There's a way that he, it's got to be like sort of a pomp and circumstance. There's got to be sort of a, oh, bye, buddy, I love you, and the patting on the back. But if you just walk out, And say, bye. It's the same thing with Woods. It's a true statement. Yeah. All right. This is boring. And I know a lot of times we talk about kids. It can be boring to people because unless it's your kid, it's like, oh, that's really cool. That's nice. But then what you're thinking in your head is, I don't care. I don't know your kid. So I'm not going to talk about it anymore. But suffice it to say. He cries a lot. Yeah. Cries a lot. He's probably sensitive because his father gives him the cold shoulder. This father does not give him the cold shoulder. They say that kids that cry a lot are starved for attention. Fatherly attention. Specifically fatherly. Paternal attention. Maybe a weekend getaway for the two of you. Yeah.
Hey, listen, TB tour. Maybe you guys should spend some quality time snuggling in the Tommy Bahamas. Absolutely. Today. Absolutely. Crawl right in that TB. That thing better be comfortable. It's got a big palm tree on it. You'll be fine. What's the thread count? Oh, boy. I don't know. You don't know? No. She doesn't know the thread count, you guys. You don't really get thread counts on these kinds of things. Of course you do. That's what determines how soft it is. That's for sheets. Yeah, and it's Tommy Bahama, so you know. You know it's good. Mike, it's TV. You wouldn't have approved his production if. Listen to the caca. She thinks it's so funny. She thinks it's so funny. We'll be driving down the road, and from 1,000 feet away, she'll go, babe, look, there's a Tommy Bahama sale. And I just keep driving. I just look straight forward on the road. I don't even look at it. I don't respond. I love Rebecca. I love when Rebecca's in on a bit. There's nothing better.
Well, in this case, it's not even really a bit. She's a team player. Just bringing evidence forth. Yeah. I love you. I love you. Consider us the prosecution. I think you're going to really enjoy it. I know you will. Oh, you know you will. Yeah, you will. Thank you, honey. Bye. Bye now. Bye-bye. Let me see. Is that going to be put on the interweb? Yeah. Immediately. Hello, B. Can you handle that? Sure, why not? She didn't buy this. She took a picture of this. She didn't buy this. We have a California King. It's on your bed. It can't be. It's a snuggle blanket. Yeah. It's like a throw. I bet it isn't ours. I hope it isn't. It's yours. You know it. Maybe it's just for her since she sleeps on top of the covers. Could be. Could be. Our number is 570-1949. So this woman in South Carolina.
She had balls on her truck. Now you've seen these. They go on the hitch. Right. And they look like balls. They're balls. Yeah. They're plastic. Sometimes I've seen them around town a lot and they're like steel. They're made of steel. Steel, plastic. Steel balls. And they look like steer balls usually. There's some that look very real. They look like J's. Yeah. Yep. Well, what happened is this lady decided that hers were going to be red and plastic and she had them on the car. And now a jury's going to decide whether or not it's free speech or she was just being obscene. She was given, her name's Virginia Tice. She was given a $445 ticket. Give me a break. And it happened on the day after 4th of July and it's violating the state's obscene bumper sticker law. Oh boy. It's not a bumper sticker. Well. They're considering it the same thing, Jay. What if you're walking your dog and your dog has a big set? Are you going to get a ticket then as well? No, because that's natural. This is unnatural. Yeah, it's not real. It's like if you put a Klan hood on your dog. You couldn't do that. You couldn't do that. You could do that. That's obscene. That's obscene. When you wear your Klan hood out when you're walking your dog, you can't. I've never gotten a ticket. Well, that's true. And he's wearing it right now. Jay had special headphones created that...
Go through his hood. Go through his hood. It's worth it. And he does the entire broadcast on the back of a white horse. And he sets up a cross every morning and burns it. You guys smell that? He's quite a racist. Yes, he is. Hey, baby. Hey, baby. You get in trouble for the balls on the truck? Yeah, you know it. That makes me so mad, baby. Believe me, I'm sad because they were a replica of your testicles. They was? Yeah, my favorite, my shining object. Shining armor. No. Shining object? My pride and joy. Yeah. That's right, babe. I'm so sad. Why, babe? I wrote you a song about it. You did? Yeah, I went into the beat laboratory. You can still play it. You play your heart out. All right, baby. Everybody wants them balls on the truck. Balls on the truck. Balls on the truck. Balls on the truck. Everybody wants them balls on the truck. Everybody wants them balls on the truck. See, it's already you got it in your head. I'm saying it. Balls on the truck.
I wrote that for you. I love it, baby. Thank you, baby. It's got to be one of our amendment rights. Yeah, who don't want balls on each other? That's what I'm saying. This is an interview that I have been waiting for actually for years because this story has fascinated me for years. It's the story of United Airlines Flight 232. You may have seen it before through images on television. If you've ever seen anything that has to do with disasters, you've seen it. Recently on BioTV, there's a show called I Survived. And Captain Al Haynes is...
One of the people that's featured on the show, along with two other survivors, senior flight attendant and also a passenger. But we're going to talk to the captain of United Airlines Flight 232 right now. This is Al Haynes. Are you there, Al? First of all, thank you for coming on. I've been looking forward to talking to you for a long time. What happened to you is something that very few people have ever lived through. You were one of 184 survivors. But let's go back. It was July 19th of 1989. You were the pilot of United Airlines Flight 232 and had been a pilot for how long, Al? Well, let's see. I was 58, so I started flying when I was 24. So you do the math. Yeah. Now, that day started out for you in Denver? Right. Going from Denver to Chicago. And walk us through what happened from the moment that you stepped on the plane. What was that day like? And what was boarding that day like? Oh, it was a fine day. A beautiful day. A nice, warm, sunny day in July. And weather was fine. Weather was clear. Light breeze. Just boarded the aircraft. It was almost full. We had 296.
Total people on board. Wow. And just a routine flight to Chicago until about an hour into the flight, just a sudden explosion and a vibration, and then everything went to pieces from there. Now, describe that explosion. When you say explosion, was this something that you can audibly hear really loud, or you can just tell that it's happened because of the vibration? Oh, it was loud. They heard it on the ground. It was so loud. Oh, my gosh. How did you know from the instrument panel that it was the rear engine? Is there something that immediately says you've lost some sort of pressure or something like that?
All the flight gauges would tell you they're moving and turning. The number two engine was the one that failed. We began the shutdown procedure for it. It was routine just to shut the engine down. We could go on to Chicago on the two, had all things been equal. On two, it even flies well on one. But we soon discovered that that wasn't the case, that something impossible to happen happened, and that is we lost all of our hydraulic fluid. And the DC-10 is flown strictly by hydraulics. There's no direct linkage between the cockpit and the control surfaces. It's all done hydraulically. Are they in any way prepared on an airplane like that to be able to manually take control of it? The way you can do it is with the power, by using the alternate power on the two engines and simultaneous power on the engines to control the altitude. It's something that we cannot train or we don't train for because it's never supposed to happen. So it was strictly foreign to us, and it was so wild to try to figure out.
how to get the airplane under control. We managed to get it under control. Not under control, but to keep it from crashing anyway. That's about all we really did. Now, the senior flight attendant was a woman named Jan Lohr. Jan. Jan Lohr Brown. Yeah, Jan. At the time, did you know her as Jan Lohr or Jan Brown? She was Jan. Jan Brown. And this is what Jan Brown said. as she was walking up to the cockpit. I did a very casual walk up and knocked on the door like everything we're supposed to do. And when the door opened, I just, as I was walking up, I was telling myself, well, we have an emergency here. But when I opened the door, it just, to this day, it makes my skin crawl because it was like... I just thought to myself, oh my gosh, this isn't an emergency. It's the worst possible crisis. What did she see that scared her so badly, Al? Well, she saw Bill and I on the flight controls. It was very difficult to see. We were trying to steer it with both of us, too. I guess she could see the tension in our shoulders and arms or whatever. And that kind of concerned her. And I was psychologically, not frantically, but on the radio, trying to get to our maintenance base and talk to them and find out how to control the airplane.
We're talking to Captain Al Haynes, who flew the ill-fated United Airlines Flight 232, very famous, Sioux City, Iowa, July 19th, 1989. So here you are, and you're at what altitude? We started at 37,000 feet. That's when the engine blew. We were at cruise altitude. Okay. And to get control of the airplane, both of you are gripping on the yoke. And are you pulling it, again, to the right or to the left to try to maintain control? One way and the other, because the airplane was trying to roll over to the right. Now, we didn't know why. We found out later it was damage to the tail. But the airplane should have been just going straight. But it was trying to turn over to the right, so we would try the right wing up. And we found out that wasn't working, so we had to use the throttles to get the wing to go up and down. So we were both using the yoke and the throttles at the same time, and I think that's what Jan saw that concerned her. Were you able... Al, to at any point speak to the passengers? No, I never spoke to him. The second officer did that. We were so busy that he got on the radio and on the system and told him. At first, it was very routine that we just lost an engine and we'd be in Chicago. That's what he told them, because that's what we thought. And it was the same thing to him for a while. It was Jim Jan when she told her the situation, and then she started back with her flight attendants, and they were taking care of the passengers.
So what was the announcement that was made once you knew that something more serious was going on? What was the announcement that was made to the passengers? Well, I got on the public address system, and it didn't come over the cockpit voice recorder, so nobody remembers exactly what I said. But from talking to the passengers, it came out that we were not going to Chicago. We were landing in Sioux City, Iowa, and I think I told them that the landing would be very good. We had some control problems. I didn't say none. I said some. The landing would be very hard, and two, I would tell them when to prepare for the landing. Now, Al Haynes, he was the chief pilot that day, and you say there's no training for something like this. And so my question to you is, in your head at that moment, were you thinking, we can do this, we can do this, or were you going, I don't know how we're going to land this plane? Well, of course, I didn't know exactly what to do.
But I never felt that we were going to lose it completely. I felt we could just keep it flying until we got to the ground because of where we were. There's a lot of flat land out there. Maybe we could just put it down short of the airport somewhere, but under control. But we really never did have control. Again, 296, as they say, souls on board. And you've now blown the engine in the tail of the aircraft. You're trying to maintain control of the airplane. Passengers, I'm sure, are starting to get nervous. Senior airline attendant Jan Brown is trying to calm people down, let them know, be prepared. One of her, one of the biggest things that she's had to deal with is that her training dictated that she tell people with toddlers to put the toddlers on the floor. Yes. And at the time, that was protocol. Right, that's the way it was done. And so she did, and she says, She remembers thinking in her head, this seems crazy, but this is what we've been taught. We tell the people to put the toddlers on the floor. That was what they had been taught. And so she did. And so now you're coming in and you're starting to make this landing. We actually have the call in the cockpit. Absolutely chilling. That is the actual call from the cockpit as they were coming down.
We hear a sound, Al, talking to Al Haynes, pilot of United Airlines Flight 232. We hear a sound right before impact that sounds like some sort of an alarm. What was that, Al? Well, that's called the ground proximity warning system. Five different things will set that off if you are not properly set for landing. And, of course, we didn't have flaps down, so that would set it off. We were going too fast, and that would set it off. Our rate of closure to the ground was too fast, and that would set it off. And there's no way you can silence that. You can if you're going to make a no-flap landing. You can silence it, but with all those other factors, it's whoop, whoop, pull up. That's what the warning is. Of course, there's one thing we could do about that. What was the word from the ground when you were in the air and you were telling them about the problem? Kevin Bachman, our controller, remained remarkably calm. I think he set the groundwork for all of us to stay calm as we could throughout this whole operation. And his word was, okay, we'll just vector you to the airport. And he acted like it was just a routine vector to the airport. My question is, did anybody have a way of telling you what you could do? No, no. We tried our maintenance base. They couldn't help us. We kept referring our second officer to the emergency book. And he was a step ahead of me. He said, I've already been there. And he said, well, go to page so-and-so. He said, I've already been there. There is no method or no way at the time.
The senior vice president of flying told me in the hospital room the next day, once you lose your hydraulics, there is no way to fly the airplane. It cannot be flown. So there's no procedure for doing it. I was told, if I remember correctly from watching the documentary again, this was recently on BioTV's I Survived. And I believe they said that they were calling the manufacturer. They called Douglas. They called General Electric, the engine manufacturer. Just no one had any idea of how to do it. Fortunately, we had an instructor on board the aircraft, Captain Denny Fitch, and he came up later on and was a great assist to us. Actually, four of us up there working instead of three. But he had no more knowledge about it than we did, except training as an instructor at how the systems work, but the systems were working. So let's... If we can, let's now walk into when you're starting to come down, everything I'm guessing is going as well as it can go. When did things start to go wrong in terms of the landing? Well, right at the end, we were lined up with the runway, which is remarkable. We were able to do that. But we were going too fast. And when you say too fast, Al?
How fast should you have been going, and how fast were you going? What altitude should you have been at, and what were you at? Well, it was okay. We were lined up for the runway to land on the end of the runway. We would have made it to the end of the runway, so the altitude was fine. The only problem is we were supposed to be doing about 150 miles an hour. We were doing 250 miles an hour. Oh, my. And you're supposed to be letting down, and as you flare the airplane for a touchdown, you want to be going down about 1 to 300 feet per minute, and we were doing 1,850 feet a minute. Oh. Oh, my gosh. We knew that we were going down too hard and too fast, and just exactly what would happen when we hit the ground, we didn't know. That was our concern. What is the last thing that you remember? Telling, pull back on the yoke to try and, you know, we were pulling back on the control wheel trying to stop the raiders there, which was doing no good. And the captain who was working the throttles for us, he shoved the throttles up because that sudden increase in thrust would pitch the nose up and put you more in the landing attitude.
But it was too late and it didn't do any good. Now, if you have ever seen, you know, if any listeners have ever seen the footage, what happens is, you know, because TV crews knew this plane was coming in. So TV crews were set up and saw this as it happens. And what you see is the aircraft, correct me if I'm wrong, Al, but the aircraft pitches to the right. Is that correct? That's correct. The right wing went down. The right wing hits the runway, and when that happens, the aircraft breaks apart and starts to spin end over end. Is that correct? Well, they said we cartwheel. We broke, we hit, the right wing hit, and the airplane came back with the right wing sheared and the right wing wing gear. It skidded kind of on its side for about 1,500 feet, and then the airplane went up on its nose, bounced three times on its nose, went over on its back after getting slightly airborne. And then back down again and off to the right side. Unbelievable. And if you watch it, the entire aircraft is engulfed in this gigantic ball of flames. And where did the cockpit where you were come to rest? Well, the cockpit, the tail went straight on down the runway, straight down the runway. But the rest of it went off to the right. The cockpit broke off and stopped about, oh, I'd say 400 feet or so.
Oh, my gosh. My goodness. Now, one of the most remarkable things is that Jan Brown, senior flight attendant, she's okay and is able to help people off of the aircraft. And she says... that it appeared so normal at that point she was almost in her head and she was in shock she said it almost occurred to her to say thank you for flying with us thank you for flying with us as people were getting off of the aircraft because she was leading them she saw light led people to the light and was getting people off the aircraft they were walking off some were still alive there were 111 people that died in that crash but there were many
Many people that survived. 125 had minor injuries. 47 seriously injured. 76 died of smoke inhalation. And 35 died of smoke inhalation that were in the first class section. How many people total survived, Al? 184. Holy cow. 184 survivors. Now, when we come back, we're going to talk to Al about the first thing that he remembers. And also, he talks in the episode about how he had to deal with surviving what so many others did not. And we will do that when we come back. People are going to like this. If you're just joining us, we're talking to Al.
He was the pilot aboard United Airlines Flight 232. They made a movie about it called Fearless. And it is simply one of the most remarkable stories I've ever heard. And it is currently the subject of a documentary on Bio Channel on a TV show called I Survived. We're talking about a DC-10 that was en route to Chicago from Denver. From Stapleton International Airport. And halfway there, about an hour into the flight, they lost the tail section of the aircraft. And Captain Al Haynes, along with the rest of his crew, did an incredible job of trying to bring this aircraft to the ground. This was what happened in the cockpit in the final 57 seconds. Line with us right now.
Al, when we left, we were talking about how it took 30 minutes for them to get to the cockpit area where you were, and it took an hour for them to extract you guys from the cockpit. Is that right? Yeah. They just didn't recognize the cockpit as a survival of anything in there. It looked like there was an unoccupied portion of the aircraft for a while, and then they finally got over there. Do you remember the rescue at all, or is your first memory at the hospital? No, I remember part of the rescue. I was knocked unconsciously at the ground, so I didn't go through that. But I remember coming to in the cockpit, and I remember bits and pieces of it, but not very much. The collection was in the hospital. And what happened to you physically? I had a few. I had a cut on my ankle. I had a bruised rib and sternum. I didn't break any bones. I took about 92 stitches, and I had a concussion. That was my most serious injury.
So you remember waking up in the hospital room. Are you surrounded by family at that point when you wake up? Oh, there were two doctors in there sewing up my head and a nurse. And so are you asking what happened or do you remember what happened and you're completely aware? I don't remember. I just remember talking to the doctor, but exactly what was said. I don't remember much of that day at all, even when my son and daughter showed up. But after that, then everything kind of cleared up. Do you remember seeing the footage on television? Three days after the crash, I wouldn't allow the TV to be turned on until after we talked to the National Transportation Safety Board. Then I turned the TV on, then I saw the crash. And the National Transportation Safety Board, what was that? You had to give them a debriefing? Oh, yeah, they have to come in and interview you and find out exactly what each person's version of what happened to us. They talk to each crew member individually.
So at that point, you did that, and then you turned the television on. What were your thoughts as you saw the wreckage? Well, my wife was standing beside the bed, and I asked her who it was. When did that crash occur? Oh, my gosh. I just didn't believe it. You couldn't even recognize that it was your crash? Oh, no. No, I had no idea that was us. My goodness. Well, of course, the part where they saw the airplane coming down, yeah, but when they turned the TV on, they were actually showing the crash portion. So we didn't see that the airplane was with EC-10. So they were just showing the crash when it hit the ground or when the big ball of fire was. And so I asked who that was. And then I saw the rest of the video, and I realized it was us. Oh, my goodness. Talk to me about what we see in the documentary show about your feelings of, and these are natural feelings of, why? Well, may I make one correction first? Sure. The movie was not fearless. That was a different movie altogether. Our movie was called A Thousand Heroes. Got it. Okay. But anyway, I had terrible guilt. I felt very guilty that we did what we did, or that nature. Their job is to take an airplane and it's passenger safely from one point to another, and I didn't do that, or we didn't do that. The whole crew feels the same way. So you've got this terrible guilt of survival. You survived this crash, and other people did not. And whether it was your fault or not, it doesn't matter.
You didn't do what you were supposed to do, so you have to fight this fear of guilt for quite some time. And that was one of my biggest problems was handling that. How long did it take before you were able to talk about the accident? Oh, I talked about it right away. I had two psychiatrists in my room with five hours of psychiatric care when I was there telling them, you've got to talk, you have to talk, and I'm a firm believer that you have to talk immediately about it. No matter how bad it is or how much you don't want to, you have to, because that's the only way you're going to be able to accept what's happened to you is to talk about it. So I'm going to talk about it right away. Next question is a hard question to ask, but one that I have to ask you. Have you dreamt about it? You know, I never have. I never did dream about it. I dream about flying, but I don't dream about the crash. I've never had any nightmares or flashbacks about the crash, and that is, I know, very unusual, but just haven't had them. And did you ever fly again? Oh, yeah. After three months, I went back to work and flew for two more years. And then I had to retire at the mandatory retirement age, which was then 60. I had to retire. Unbelievable. What was the first flight like? Very routine. I was a little concerned about that last 500 feet, whether I would be recalling the accident or not. So I had a flight instructor go with me as the first officer.
That way he would recognize any problems that would be developing as they develop. If you just had a regular first officer, no matter how experienced he is, they tend to let you go if you're making mistakes. But these instructors are there to see when you make a mistake, they kind of know the next thing you're going to do wrong. And so I had him there for that reason. And I told him, if you see anything, hesitate. Just take the airplane away from me. We'll talk about it later. And things went very routine, and we went on from there. Talking to Al Haynes. He was the... He was the pilot aboard United Airlines Flight 232. You can see the video of it right now on our Facebook page, facebook.com slash Mikey Show. Like the page, you can see the video of the crash. Al, what was your wife like during this period? She said she hadn't seen the video until she heard I was okay. But everybody else said they didn't see the video.
but she didn't remember that. They hopped and they brought her to the next day, she and one of my sons and my daughter, and they were just there to support me and help me and fly home with me five days later. Have you kept in contact with any of the survivors or other crew members? The crew, we used to meet fairly regularly on reunion times, but now we just send emails back and forth occasionally. We've tried to get together once before. We have gotten together a couple of times since the... The accident. But one or two, Jan, I stay in touch with constantly. But a few of the survivors we're friends with now, and I talk to them. But basically, it's just you go on with your life, and it's about the best you can do. You know, Al, tell people what Jan has done since. Well, she has been very upset about this child restraint seat situation. And she has been before Congress. She's written letters to congressmen.
She's been, ever since the accident, she's been trying to get something done about child restraint seats in airplanes because this holding a baby on the floor is always, to her, kind of a ridiculous idea. But what else could you do? You can't hold them because centrifugal force would tear them away from you. And you can't put them in a seat belt because you could crush them with your body with a seat belt. So that was the procedure. What it is now, to tell you the truth, I don't know. Now they put them in a car seat? They put them in a car seat if they have them, but somebody's got to pay for that seat. And that's been... Yeah. Well, she was incredible in the documentary as well. It's available on iTunes. It's called I Survived. And the episode is Al, Jan, and Jerry. Oh, Jerry. Yeah, and he's one of the survivors. Jerry, as you mentioned, he's now the voice of the Colorado Rockies.
Unbelievable. And yeah, he was a survivor and is on the show and just unbelievable. Thank you so much, Al, for joining us and sharing your story with us. My pleasure, Mike. Thank you. We appreciate it. Thank you. I can't even imagine what it must be like to be in that kind of a situation and live through that kind of a situation. And then as he says, dealing with that guilt of feeling like you did it, like you were responsible. I'm supposed to get them safely there and I didn't. And how do you rid yourself of that? I guess it just takes time. I guess it's just years. You know, him saying that, you know, it doesn't matter. Fault. You know, it doesn't matter if the plane explodes. It's his job to get him from point A to point B. And he said, we didn't do that. But, you know, the way I look at it is a crash that severe, there should be no survivors. None. Nobody. Nobody. 296 people on board.
111 died, and there were 185 survivors. He's an absolute hero. Absolute hero. Absolutely. Just unbelievable. That cockpit, when you play the cockpit stuff, when you hear that alarm goes off, and then there's a real quick little moment of silence right before the hit, and it is chilling. It is, man. And you hear him yelling out, left, left, left, left. And, you know, it's really interesting because what they've done in a lot of cases, you can find them on YouTube. It's Flight 232. They've, through animation, reconstructed from about five minutes before impact along with what you're hearing in the cockpit, which is pretty fascinating to watch. And you hear them saying the words 232 heavy, meaning we're coming in and we don't have any power and this plane is loaded for bear. headed towards that runway and uh you know the truth of the matter is and this is what people need to remember is that uh airplane travel is extraordinarily safe in fact you're safer in an airplane than you are in an automobile um your chances of being hurt in an automobile are much higher than they are being uh flown this was a freak accident that um took out the rear uh engine but uh you know
Just an amazing story that has always fascinated me. Flight 232 has always fascinated me because it was, as you can see by watching the video, one of the most destructive crashes ever, yet people walked. I mean, walked off of that plane. More than 100 people walked off that plane. Into a cornfield. Just insane. Now, he says the movie Fearless is not based on this. based on this. I think the reason that he says that it's not based on it is because there's a lot of... Jeff Bridges is the star of the movie and the depiction of Jeff Bridges doesn't have anything to do with anybody real in terms of what that character does in the movie and what he's like and all that. However, Rosie Perez's character is very similar to...
at least one woman in particular that was aboard that flight that lost a child uh but anyway uh that movie is called fearless and it's a very good movie but there are movies about this flight 232 uh that are available and um you know you should watch them because it's an interesting deal uh well done man that was i would never put my kid on the ground though even though i knew it was gonna be ripped from me because like man i think yeah i think yeah But see, you know, now I'm putting myself in that position. I'm like, man, if they tell you, you know, they know I don't, you know, they know what to do. They're smart about it. Plus, I'm not thinking, oh, we're going to go crashing end over end. Right. I don't know. You know, who knows? Holy smokes. 570-1949 is our number. And if you want to text us, 949mikey at gmail.com. Always wanted to talk to somebody that was a survivor of Flight 232. And so for me, as an interviewer, that was a big thing, man. I'm always going to remember 2011 as the year that I finally... I wanted to talk to him or someone from that flight for 10 years. Great interview. For 10 years. Really interesting, man. Thank you. Okay, so tell me what you think about this.
Um, we got an email and you can call us 5701949 says Mikey show. My wife and I got an invitation to a adults only wedding on the East coast for a family member. We have two kids under the age of five. So I guess this means not only are we going out there for your wedding and getting a hotel, but now we have to find a babysitter to stay with for our four kids for four days or for our kids for four days. Happy birthday, huh? Whatever happened to all in caps family? Is this the new bit? The adults only wedding and one lawn gnome. I've seen this. They don't want kids there. And, you know, I look at it this way. If you have kids and you get invited to a wedding that doesn't allow kids, it isn't about you. It's about the wedding people, you know. It's about the wedding people. It's their call. It's their call. It's kind of lame, but it's their call. Is it? Isn't it? Why? I mean, you're asking me to fly across the country. I got a family. I'd love to be at your wedding, but I got a family too. You can get a babysitter. Yeah, a piece of cake. Yeah, for four days. A piece of cake for four days. Overnight babysitter. Oh, you know what? I'm going to go ahead and fly to the East Coast at about $800, $900 a ticket. You know what else I'm going to do? I'm going to go ahead and get a hotel.
You know what? I mean, you're talking about the guy basically when he got that invite, might as well just handed you a bill for $4,000 in there too. Because that's essentially what it is. But if you've got to travel for a wedding, isn't that the deal? He's saving you money. Oh, yeah. Is he? Well, yeah. You don't have to take the kids now. Oh, boy. I've got to pay. And now I'm worried because I've got some clowns staying at my house for four days. I mean, here's the deal. It's a bill. The guy sent you a bill for $4,000. Well, even if they're local, though, still. No kids? That doesn't bother me as much as the destination. The local, like, I'll get somebody to watch it for a couple hours because I'll go for a couple hours. It's still crabby. It is crabby. Well, some people think that that's an inconvenience. Oh, I can't take my kids to your wedding? I thought you're my brother. What is this? Well, it's a wedding where we don't want to be saying, do you take this woman and hear her crying in the background? Well, you know, the local thing, the local thing doesn't bother me. Like, I had people over on Saturday and I said, you know, no kids. And that's for a multitude of reasons, but mainly I've got seven dogs that I can't keep my eyes on at all times. Some kid opens the gate and my dog ends up in the street. Some kid gets bit in the face by the dog. It's on me. So I don't want that headache. It wasn't because I wanted to have a key party. It's because I didn't want kids to mess with my dog. Well, if you didn't want to have a key party, yeah, why did you have a bunch of keys in a punch bowl? And you wore the shirt that said, I'm having a key party. You're having a key party. And how come your wife came home with me? Yeah, why that?
You silenced wood. It's nearly impossible. Listen, I have no problems with the no kids thing. Listen, when we have parties, we have our kids over Grammys. When kids run around screaming. It's local, though. It's a local thing. You're having glasses of wine at a reception. You're drinking. You're doing your thing. Come on. Anyone that has a wedding is going to have out-of-towners. It's your special day, though, LLB. You know what I mean? Well, I wouldn't do it because I have so many people in my family that have kids, but my mom said that the reason that the brides do it is because they don't want attention taken away from them, like on the dance floor or something. Because, you know, kids will do like the, yeah, like they'll do like Michael Jackson impressions. They'll do the robot out there. That is the most hideous thing.
The robot dance? That is pretty bad. That too. If there's a woman that exists that would feel that she'd have her spotlight taken away by a seven-year-old doing the robot, I don't want to know that woman at all. That woman, if you're that woman, I'm sorry. This is good for you to know. You're a beating. You're a huge beating. You're a whip. And chances are, you're going to become an even bigger beating. So if you're married to that woman or thinking about marrying that woman... Oh my gosh. Hey pal, I'd pack your stuff, grab your passport. Fake your own death. Oh yeah, if you're marrying the woman whose spotlight is taken away by the seven-year-old on the dance floor doing the robot, that woman's creepy. She's creepier

Oh, speaking of, somebody owes somebody some money. I'm waiting on a receipt. I'm waiting on an x-ray. I'll trade you. You clowns. You need a receipt? You don't believe him? No.
Plus, I want him to subtract from the total. I want him to subtract from the total all that chicken and potatoes that he took. I'm not paying for him to eat. I'm pulling a J on this one. It's a good idea. He took $40 worth of chicken and potatoes. At least $15. I took eight drumsticks. B? Yeah, serious S. You know I stole the chicken anyway. Right. I just made $90 off you. I made $90 off you. Just bring that receipt in. I will. You get paid. I went to the chicken factory, and I said, hey, y'all got any almost spoileds? How about some beaks that I can grind down? That's right. Y'all got any day olds? You got any day olds? I'll take the fat tissue. I'll eat that. I'll eat it. Hey, if I put it in enough barbecue sauce, nobody's going to know. Let's see. Oh, man. M1, Mike from Vista. Are you there? Hey, what's up, Mikey Show? Not too much, dude. What do you think of this whole only adults can go to a wedding bit? Well, my wife and I just recently got married in June, and we decided we want an adult-only wedding. And I've got family members that thought their kids should go, and they still won't talk to us. They threw a complete fit. It's your day, not theirs. We've seen it happen. But see, they can't, you guys, this guy that we're talking to, he can't.
then get mad at somebody for not going. You know, you can't be upset if your Aunt Mary can't make it because they got three kids. Yeah, if Aunt Mary says, hey, listen, Mike, we can't make it, you know, we'd love to, but we're having a hard time with a kid thing. Flying cross country. Would you get mad at that, Mike? Oh, no. If they came to me and said, hey, look, we really can't afford it, that's fine. But on the other hand, my wife and I can't afford $220 a person for their little kids to run around the dance floor and make a mess all over the place. Yeah, makes sense. I agree. Now, Mike, are you, how old are you? You sound very young. Yeah, 23. Yeah, you sound young. How old is your wife? 22. Gosh darn, he sounds young. There you go. All right, Mike, thanks. M1 Brandon from San Diego. What's up, Mike? What's going on? I just thought of an interesting point when you were getting so disguised, was getting taken away from her by her child. I'm getting married August 13th, and there's going to be kids at our wedding, but I could never imagine my fiance getting upset or someone else's children stealing the spotlight. But you said, you know, if that woman exists, something funny, but it popped in my head. I'm like, oh, that woman does exist. Her name's Casey Anthony.
Wow. You little. It's true. I was listening to you guys the day of discuss about how the verdict came out, and I was blown away just off of the fact. I'm like, sounds like a woman who gets upset about those kinds of things. You know what I mean? Thank you for the call. Great call. Because I wonder, who's that lady? Who's that lady? Plenty, plenty. Are you married to her right now, guys? Is there anybody listening? You're married to that woman that would get upset over she's losing the spotlight to a kid dancing? Mike, your kid, Jake, it's really cute. Don't get me wrong. He's really cute. But he's doing the robot on the dance floor. And we are supposed to do dancing, me and my husband, my new husband. Okay, we'll get him. He did the worm like seven times. It was funny. He's not actually doing it right either. But everyone has to clear out of the way. Well, would you like, if you guys are going to do your little dance, we could clear everybody off. No, you know when you form a circle and people get in the middle and you take turns? Well, Jake keeps going in there. Yeah. And no one else is really getting a turn, namely me. Yeah, exactly. Well, wait a minute. You guys just talked me out of something. If that were said to me.
My thought would be, Jake. Get out of there, dude. And it shouldn't be. Come on. He's four. He's four years old. Everybody have fun tonight. Kid's having fun. Yeah, everybody wang chung tonight. Yeah. Well. Kid's just trying to wang chung, dude. He's at a wedding. He's having fun. Let the kid wang chung. Hey, wang chung. Wait, wait, wait. You wang chung, but, you know, you don't like. You only get one wang chung? Yeah. One or two wang chungs? You get a wang chung all night. You get a ticket at the door to wang chung once? Yeah. Dude, happy birthday. You can't just sit there and wang chung all night long. Yes, you can. You know why? Because you're four. He eats to wang chung all he wants. Keep waiting until you fall asleep. Jake's not precocious. I've seen the precocious kid that I do want off the dance floor. I'm like, come on, buddy. Get out of the way. I went to a wedding. The precocious kid will get. He's great. The precocious kid is great. Last year when I went to that wedding, it was a she. And she was out there. My friend Gabe, his daughter Sawyer, she's like seven. She's out doing the pop and lock. Dude. Right.
I looked for her when I was looking. I wouldn't want to watch some. But she's not precocious. She's very precocious. The precocious one is the one that's out there all the time and knows him. Cheesy and really, like, not cheesy, excuse me, the big ham. Yes. That's great. That was me when I was a kid. To a point. To a point. I'm still a big ham. Big ham. You know what? Listen. The precocious kid and the over drunk guy. would have a lot have a have a lot in common i've been they both make you nervous because neither knows when enough is enough the precocious kid is fine he's having fun he's dancing great and that's really cool but it's been an hour and it was really cute the first six times honestly honestly the first six times that Adults were dancing and he came, you know, centipeding in. The first six centipedes were like, oh my gosh, he is something else, isn't he? But that seventh centipede is like the guy that says to you for the seventh time, hey, Crookie Sheriff. Really? Hey, Crookie Sheriff. Hey, Crookie Sheriff.
You just going to sit over there writing fake citations so you can pocket the money? Or you want me to give me sympathy to eat inside? Hey, Mikey. Guess what my friend said? Did you look at that? Come on, dude. Come on. Come on. Wayne Chung with me. Mikey. Quickie chirp. Wayne Chung with me. Wayne Chung with me. Okay, dude. I'll Wayne Chung. I don't know what that is. What do you want me to do? Just freaking. Why are you acting like that, dude? Wayne Chung and I. Okay, okay, I'll Wayne Chung. You tell me what the Wayne Chung is and I'll do it. Oh, look at Crookie Sheriff getting an attitude. Look at Crookie Sheriff getting a little bit of attitude with us. Crookie Sheriff. Crookie Sheriff. Crookie Sheriff. Come on, Joey. You're all done now, aren't you? Joey. Hey, Lauren. Yeah?
Is that your cousin, your little cousin? Yeah, yeah. Where's his parents? I think they're over at the bar. You should probably get them to get Joey off the dance floor because people are trying to dance. Has he been out there too long? It's the 20th time. I know. Adults are trying to dance. Let me ask him if I can. Joey, come here. No. Joey, Joey, Joey, get his arm. You get his arm, I'll get his legs. You get his arms, I'll get his legs. All right, ready? He weighs 300 pounds. You have a choice. You don't have to watch little Joey if you don't want to. Right. No, sometimes it's a small dance floor and there's only room for Joey. It's uncomfortable, though, Jay. Don't you think? It's like, okay, Joey, gosh. Joey's going early anyway. There'll be plenty of time after Joey has to go to bed. That's right. It's not a stealing of thunder. It's just, hey, Joey, you're not as cute as you think you are. And this is annoying now. Come on. There's adults here. And more than that, hey, Joey's parents, maybe you recognize that Joey's been out there quite a while.
Maybe people want to dance. My parents were like the dance police. They'd be like, okay, that's enough. Come on. Can you imagine LLB just wanting to dance and pop out there? Come on. Don't be an idiot. M1 Surf Daddy from Cardiff. What was the word of the day? Factory. That is correct. Pal, you're going to L.A. Rising July 30th at the L.A. Coliseum. Rage Against the Machine. Muse. Rise Against Ms. Lauryn Hill. And also you're going to... Hey. Be quiet. Hang on a minute. Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow. That one's August 2. Over at Cricket. I ain't done, buddy. Hang on. Over at Cricket Wireless. Now I'm finished. Hooray. Yeah. Love you guys. Good for you. Hang on. Hang on. Hang on. Gift or a good prize. That's right. Gift. Gift. It's both. It's a wedding. Let's see. Jay doesn't know about this. Woods was loading in some sports audio. Took me a while today. It did.
The reason it took him a while is because what Jay thought he had deleted, he did not. Yes. What am I talking about? Little audio clips that Jay thought would never be played again. Yep. I'm through with standing in lines. The clubs will never get in. The bottom of the ninth and I'm never going to win. Life hasn't turned out quite the way I want it to be. Tell me what you want. I quit. You're welcome, everyone. You're welcome. I hate you. You're welcome. You're going to pay. I always pay. Tell me what you want. How about this? Dirty babe. Oh, look at him. Shirt shimmy. See these shackles, baby? I'm the slave. Where are you going, Jay? Don't let him go delete him, Woods. Woods, don't let him delete him. Don't let him delete him. He's going to try to delete him. Where is he? He's going to go try to delete. Don't let him delete them. Come on, girl. Come on. Get on it. Get on it?
Hit it again. How about this one? Them baggy sweatpants and the Reeboks with the straps. She turned around and gave the big booty a slap. She hit the floor, hit the floor. No, shorty. Did he just say what I thought he said? That's my favorite. Again. No! Them baggy sweatpants and the Reeboks with the straps. She turned around and gave the big booty a slap. She hit the floor, hit the floor. And then you know, shorty, I low, low, low, low, low, low, low, low. Ain't gonna say nothing. Dirty babe. All day. I can do it. See these shackles, baby, I'm the slave. The slave. I'll let you whip me if I misbehave. What?
It's just that no one makes me feel this way. What? Come on, girl. Come on, get on it. Come on, girl. Go ahead, get on it. Come on, girl. Go ahead, get on it. Come on, girl. Go ahead, get on it. Come on, girl. Get on, get on it. Come on, get on it. Come on, get on it. Woo! Wow. Oh, that's amazing. That's really good. Dirty baby. Come on. See these shackles, baby, I'm the slave. Give your boys an advice. I'll let you whip me if I misbehave. It's just that no one makes me feel this way. Play the third one again. Them baggy sweatpants and the Reeboks with the straps. She turned around and gave the big booty a slap. She hit the floor, hit the floor. And then your nose shorty got low, low, low, low, low, low, low, low. Ain't gonna say nothing. That's one of my favorite things ever. I love it so much. We'll never be doing that again. Yes, we will. Them baggy sweatpants and the Reeboks with the straps. She turned around and gave the big booty a slap.
She hit the floor, hit the floor. You know, shorty, I low, low, low, low, low, low, low, low. Ladies and gentlemen, Chad Kroger. I'm through with standing in lines. The clubs will never get in. At the bottom of the night, then I'm never going to win. This life hasn't turned out quite the way I want it to be. Tell me what you want. I want a brand new house on an episode of Cribs and a bathroom I can play baseball in. A king-size tub big enough for me. Plus me. Oh, wow. What you need. Plus three, I think. I need a credit card with no limit. Uh-oh. Big black jet with a bad room in it. Bad room? I just want a bad room in it. It's the greatest. You're welcome, M1 Nation. Wow. You're all.
Very welcome. Hey, did you listen to the songs on your headphones? Yes. And then just sing along? Yes. It's incredible. Incredibly painful. Oh, that's so good. Maybe once a week. That you... Oh my gosh, I want him to try out for... The voice or something. X Factor. You're mine. No way. I can't sing in front of me. I was hard enough doing that. I think if you keep those where they are, Mike, I don't think he can get to them. You'll be surprised what I can get to. Just keep them there. And I'll hide them somewhere else, too. Those will never go away. They're never going away. No. Never. No, they're not. Fire him if he does. I'll take that. I'll fire him. I quit. These cannot. Them baggy sweatpants and the Reeboks with the straps. She turned around and gave the big booty a slap. She hit the floor, hit the floor. And you know, shorty, I low, low, low, low, low, low, low.
Ain't seen nothing. Ain't seen nothing. Ain't seen nothing. You're a goldmine, Isabel. A freaking, a freaking goldmine. You're a freaking goldmine. You're like Texas T in there, dude. Jay, what do we have as a prize? Oh, let's see. What do we have? We have... Dirty baby. That's helping. See these shackles, baby, I'm the slave. I'm the slave. Go ahead. I'll let you whip me if I misbehave. Those will be on bumper music tomorrow, by the way. Jay, what do we have? Four pack of tickets to see Weezer, August 6th. The Del Mar racetrack. All right, here's what we'll do. We have Weezer tickets at the track, but we wanted, let's do the M factor. You know, we had people call in and sing, and we had good people. Oh, damn good people. So if you can sing. Call us. Call us and sing. Just know you're going to be judged by me, Woods, and L.O.B. But we're going to do our own version of the M Factor, Mikey Idol. So you have to be a good singer. We did this a couple of weeks back, and people with good voices called and sang. And so that's all you got to do. You just got to sing in the phone. I'm Stacey Cohen for FM 94.9. We're calling it live in July because we got a whole studio audience here right now. Tonight is the Wipeout Viewing Party. Woods and Jay are going to be on national television tonight on ABC's Wipeout. 8 o'clock tonight on ABC. Chosen out of 75,000 people that were trying to get in there. And Woods and Jay were selected. Unbelievable. Being dynamic, dude. That's right. Hollywood.
Hollywood. Hollywood. Hollywood. So we'll be telling you about the seven-year-old pole dancing classes. But right now, it is time for the M factor. Charge your football back in, too. Oh, yeah, dude. Real good. We'll be talking about that a little bit more. But first, let's hear what Mikey Show listeners got. Let's hear what M1's got. First up. is M1 Josh from San Diego. Are you there, Josh? Yeah, I'm here. What are you going to sing? I don't know. I was hoping you guys would just pick a song for me. Pick a rock song. All right. M1 Doug from Vista. Are you there? Yeah. Wow. What are you going to be singing? Easy, Simon. Hey Jude. What are you going to do? Hey Jude. Hey Jude by the Beatles. I like it. Yeah. All right, let's hear it. Okay.
Hey, June, don't make it bad. Take a sad song and make it better. Remember to let her into your heart. Then you can start to make it better. All right, thank you. First of all, I need to point out. For those of you driving your car, Woods, after the first couple of notes, took his headphones off. Now, I feel that that was a, you know, I mean, it's certainly not bad. I mean, you're not a bad singer. Let me just, my dispatcher, I'm actually working. My dispatcher called in and she has a really, that's her. Yep. That didn't have anything to do with it. We heard the interruption, but that didn't have anything to do with it. We're judging you strictly on your voice here, okay? Okay. Now, going strictly by the voice, very ordinary, nothing special. I didn't feel that there was anything that stood out to me necessarily as a gifted singer, but certainly can carry a tune. Woods? Good.
Okay, and L.O.B. Wow. Well, I will go ahead and echo what Mike said and say you're not going to Hollywood. But if you were my boyfriend singing in the shower, not bad. Yeah, not bad. Not bad for the boyfriend singing in the shower. Now, up next is M1 Josh. He's called back. And this time Josh has selected a song that he's going to sing. And what have you selected, Josh? I've selected call today. Cold as ice by Foreigner. I like it. All right, let's off you go. Okay, I'll start off from the beginning. You're as cold as ice. You're willing to sacrifice our love. Someday you'll pay the price I know. I've seen it before. It happens all the time. You're closing the door. You leave the world behind. You're digging for gold. You're throwing away a fortune in feelings. But someday you'll pay. All right. I think that you had some moments where you're a little off key, but I like, I think you have potential. I definitely hear some potential in your voice, but you had some very off key moments there that made me wince a little bit. But I'm going to say yes. Woods. Oh, no question. Really? And I think you put this guy through a decent microphone. Dude.
Guys, rad. That is not an easy song to sing. All right. L.O.B.? Ballsy song choice. I like it. And I agree with Woods. I think once he has a little bit of tweaking and the right mic and maybe stands up straight, belt it out right. Look at that, dude. You're going to El Cajon. Hang on the line. Let's see. M1 Geneva from Escondido. Are you there? What's up? Not too much. What are you going to sing? It's called Could It Have Me by Lex Lange. Lexaland, is that what kind of music? It's kind of bluesy. Bluesy. Yeah, not a lot of people know about it. I don't know about it, but it's okay. We're just going to get a feel for your voice. Okay. All right, let's hear it. Okay. Yeah, if you wanted me, you could have had me, baby, a long time ago. Easier than you know. Oh, you should have seen me. I love it. I love it. I think you have something really cool in your voice. There is some kind of character and some kind of... There's something in your tone that I dig a lot. I would say definitely yes. Woods?
Thank you. If I was single and she was of age, I would try to make sex to her. There's no question. Wow. And L.O.B.? If I were single and she was of age, I would also try to make sex to her. Sassy. Sassafras. That voice was like honey and whiskey in my ears. I'm actually glad I didn't know the song. Me too. Yeah, me too. I'm actually glad I didn't know the song and that you sang it the first time I heard it. How old are you? I'm 18. 19? Oh, well, then we're good. No, you're of age. Perfect. I'll make sex to her. Get ready. All right. Can you hang on the line? Because you may be the one that's selected, but hang on the line, okay? Okay, I will, thank you. But right now, you're going to alcohol. Gosh, she was good. Holy cow. And when shoots. Singing was good, too. Oh, wow. Shoots from La Mesa. What are you going to sing? I'm going to sing Over My Head by The Fry. All right. Off you go. And everyone knows I'm in over my head, over my head. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. That is M1 Shoots from La Mesa. I would say that sounded a lot like my drunk cousin Becky. And we're like, hey.
Becky has had too much to drink, and she's singing again. And I think it's the fray. And a lot of people are leaving. Woods. Yes. L-O-B. After Geneva, you know, it's just hard. Oh, that's a very diplomatic way to say it. That's true. Not going to El Cajon. Not going to El Cajon. Still spitting up hairballs. Thank you, Chutes. Up next, M1, Shantae from Marietta. Are you there, Shantae? Yes. Shantae, what are you going to be singing for us? Bohemian Rhapsody. Oh, wow. Oh, my gosh. That's a hard song. I'm confident. Geneva was really good, so I'm going to give it a shot. All right, let's hear it. Mama, just killed a man. Put a gun against his head. Pulled my trigger, now he's dead. Mama, life had just gone all the way. Thank you. I think that you probably have a good voice. I think that that was a terrible song choice, but you probably have a good voice. If you'd chosen a different song that suited your voice better, I probably would have liked it more.
But because of the song choice, it didn't work well with your voice, in my opinion. Woods. All I have to say is, I see a little silhouette of a man's got a booze, got a booze. Will you do the fandango? And that's it. L.O.B.? It's hard to do Freddie Mercury. I do agree it was wrong. Some men would agree about that L.O.B. Actually, there's quite a few out there that would disagree. Oh, wow, wow, wow, wow. I heard it was easy to do. Oh, my gosh. Go ahead. But I would send her to El Cajon. She's going to El Cajon? Oh, wow. There was something lost in the phone connection, too, that was cut. I'm sending her to El Cajon. All right. You're going to El Cajon. Hang on the line. And up next is M1 Laura, actually from El Cajon. So you won't have to travel far if you actually make it. Although, I will say this. I just read my call screener, and what you're going to sing is a... Hefty song choice. You know it. Is it Adele? Nope. What are you doing? You said hefty. I'm doing Fallen by Alicia Keys. Oh. Fallen by Alicia Keys. Yes, sir. Off you go. All right. Falling here. Weary. Sometimes you make me blue. I feel good. At times I feel you. Loving makes me so come to you. Thank you. Yes.
I say the most natural voice that we've had, the most natural talent, the most natural talented singer. You would have gotten my vote for the win overall today because I think that you have the most naturally talented voice. But that's just me. But you're definitely going to El Cajon, in my opinion. You're a great singer. Woods? I definitely would send her to El Cajon, but she's not better than that 19-year-old. Geneva? Geneva. That little angel. L.O.B.? Geneva is still my favorite, but I would still send her to El Cajon. And I have a feeling she's been singing since she's been like two. You're right. How old are you, Laura? I'm 45. You're a good singer. Thank you. See, this is the thing, man. That's what gets Woods. You wouldn't have known how old she is. You got to have the look, too, dude. It's about the voice. It's about the voice. It's about the voice. Oh, yeah. Look up the legends. Review.com. The strip club? Woods. She's a hottie with a body. And you know what, man? That's why I say, I wish they'd open it up to any age. I want to squeeze them. Yeah. No. Oh. These.
contest because I wouldn't have known how old she is. I would have said, I don't know, 28, 29, 30. I don't know. 45. 45. Got a great voice. Well, that's because you have big jugs. All right. Of course I do. All right. Of course I do. A woman singing like that's got big jugs. Hey, Geneva hung up. Oh, darn. She'll be back. Geneva hung up. Yeah, she's not there. Oh, too bad. So sad. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Let's check. Do you have her number? Oh, he got her number. Look at this kid. This kid's a freaking beast. Chris got a 19-year-old's number. Oh, my gosh. I'll just kill him any time I get a chance, man. Well, there you go. All right. Well, hang on the line. We're going to get your number because you were good. Yeah. She was good. All right. We're going to do one more. We're going to do one more. M1 Chad from San Diego. What are you going to sing? That Bruno Mars song, the Don't Feel Like Doing Anything. Immediate disqualification. Stop it. I need you to turn your man card. Not to me. Not to me. It's fine. I'm not familiar with a song, but hey, sometimes that's better. Yes. This is a song about wood. What's it called? It's a lazy song. The lazy song. All right, let's hear it. Chad, let's hear it. All right, here it goes. I don't feel like doing anything. I just want to pick it up.
Messed up. It's all good. It's okay. What happened? It's all right. L.O.B. made a suggestive kind of hand movement that made me embarrassed. I did the microphone first. I understand. All right. This is what I would say. I felt like I was a cab driver with a gay couple in the back seat, and one of them... Wanted to sing really loud. He was drunk. And he was drunk. He was wasted. And wasted. All right. 915. Woods? Yeah, no. Zero percent. All right. And L.O.B.? There's just too much distraction for me, Chad. Yes. There was a lot of distraction for you there. Yes.
If you can hear my sexiness, that's the distraction. That must have been it. That is true. That is true. Sorry about that, Chad. Well, I guess it's a no-brainer. It's two against one. I thought the Alicia Keys 45-year-old was the best, but Woods and L.O.B. both agree that the winner is M1 Geneva. So, Chris, can you get her on the line? He's going to try. He's trying. He's trying. He just said stop screaming at me, Mike. Her head has already gotten so big, she hung up on it. Yeah. She's like, you find me. I'd almost like to hear her sing something else. 100%. I think we got her. Geneva, are you there? Hi, yeah. Sorry, I'm at work right now. That's okay. Congratulations, you won. Sorry, no, don't shut up. Hey, are you allowed to tell us where you work or where you get in trouble if you do? I might get in trouble. I'm a nanny. Oh. Well, yeah, you would get... Mike, I may get in trouble if I tell you where I work right now. Okay, well, would you be able to sing for us one more time or will... You're done. I can real quick if you mean. Same song? No, we wanted to hear you sing something different. I could sing the new Demi Lovato song, Skyscraper. Can we hear it? Okay, just a little bit. Yeah, just a little bit. Skies are crying. I'm watching.
Catching teardrop in my hand. Only silence. Is it ending like we never had a chance? She's good. She's really, really good. She's damn good. Winner. She reminds me of my brother-in-law, but female. My brother-in-law, Ryan, that sings. Yeah, yeah. Like that same group. Geneva, we want to have you come in here and sing in the studio. Yeah, we do. Oh, my God. Not for the reasons that Jay is positioning right now. Hang on the line, okay? Hang on the line. She's going to see Weezer for sure. Maybe you'll let the kid pick a little bit and she can sing. That'd be great. That'd be awesome. Yeah. Let's see. Tonight, Dave and Busters. Raise your hand in the studio if you're going tonight to Dave and Busters. Get those hands up. Oh, man. Only got a few. There we go. There we go. We got a lot of people going tonight. It's going to be very crowded, but fun. Let's see. We got a text that says, Mikey, do girls intentionally wear jeans that let you see the top of their butt crack? Oh, yes. I believe the answer to that is yes. And the only reason I believe the answer is yes is because how could they possibly not know? Thank you. They know.
What? He's about to come out of his skin in there. I know. He's got his both hands together in the praying position, and he's sitting straight up. Showing.com. It's called whale tail. What's a whale tail? What's a whale tail? When the underwear comes up, that little thongish underwear, it looks like a chainsaw start. It's called a whale tail. Like a whale? Like a wishing whale? Like a fishing whale. Like an orca tail. Some people would call it. A whale tail. Oh, that's what I said. I thought it was like a whale tail. Well, tail. Well, tail. Hey, listen. The pot's done. Everybody's folded. It's going to fold. So, well, tail. Or a coin slot. Coin. It's like you put the change right in. Slink, blink. All right. Well, guess that just about wraps that up. Run your credit card. Oh, wow, wow, wow, wow. The vein is out on L.O.B.'s forehead, and that means serious blushing. The vein came out. How did Kim introduce you to her parents? How did that happen? They've been married 27 years. It took 25 to like him. A devoted father of four makes a good living. They're like, we can't stand it. It took 25 years. It's because he talks about...
Yeah, because your wife, your daughter, has the best-looking whale tail I've ever seen. Oh, boy. You read the email. They do it on purpose. They do it on purpose. They all do. You all do. I'll include you in that. They all do. They show their boobs and their boobs and butts. I mean, how would a girl not know that her butt crack is showing? Because sometimes... Well, sometimes your butt crack is showing, right? Sometimes it just... lips, you know? I guess it is, huh? Well, Mike, your butt crack shows up because you're fat, you know? That's not what I said! It's different, Mike, because when yours is showing and you don't know, it's because you're overweight. No! Mike, the other day, you dropped a penny. And then you went to pick it up? Holy crap.
Guess what? I was singing. Them baggy sweatpants and the Reeboks with the straps. She turned around and gave the big booty a slap. She hit the floor, hit the floor. And then you know, shorty, I low, low, low, low, low, low. These get loose. Oh, my God. Yeah, Mike, it's like you're a plumber. Oh, my God. Biggest coin slot I've ever seen. Oh, totally. Crap. More like a 50-cent piece. Cruel, cruel monster. One of the ones you put four at a time. Oh, my gosh. Is he Silver Dollar? Yeah. Oh, my gosh. That's a great new nickname. Silver Dollar. Please stop. I'm dying. I'm dying. It's like if you were to cut a redwood tree in half. Oh, my gosh. Oh, wow. It's different, L.O.B. You know, like, it's different.
My answer to that is sometimes my jeans get looser if I wear them too much and I realize, is this showing? I don't know. No. It's those jeans that ride low on the hips. Right? Low, low, low, low. Isn't it those types of jeans, right? Every girl. Hip huggers. But don't they wear them for that reason? Yes. No, LLB? That's like saying that girls don't wear cleavage shirts for the purpose of cleavage. And their underwear is halfway up their back. That's on purpose. I believe. Not a bad look. No, it's a great look. That's a good look. Good, solid look. It's sexy. Butt cleavage? Yeah. Actually, I prefer it with no well tell. I like just the nothing. Then you know they're going commando. I call it all natural. Wiener time. Mike, you uncomfortable? Oh, God. Get me out. Get me out of here. Get me the hell out of here. Oh, no. You're dying. Oh, man. I hope the topic of jeans comes up tomorrow. I'm going to make a racist remark in rap song. Yeah. I'm going to do that. And then I'm going to set L.O.B. up to just knock Mac's head clean off.

So rest assured, your kid is fine using their mobile. Mostly because kids, I think, are just resilient. Kids are just, they stand a better chance. Now, tell me where you are on this. Pole dancing classes for seven-year-old girls. Apparently, there's a lot of people that are upset over it. It's happening in Britain. And it's a fitness group that is teaching pole dancing to seven-year-old girls. And the woman that runs it is a woman named Jess Norris. She's 18. And she says that there's nothing rude going on. And that she teaches pole fitness, nothing else. And that she hasn't received any complaints. Well, maybe we don't sexualize seven-year-olds. Come on. We don't have a class that's whore in training. Well, it's strippers. That's what they do with a pole, strippers. Seriously? I mean, all they're doing is working out. They're not dressing in. What's the implication? Just because that is what primarily is they're doing. Primarily?
Only. Firefighters slide down them too. Maybe it's firefighter class. It's just a workout. They're not teaching them to be sexy. It depends on what they're doing. I've been to a pole dancing class. They are teaching you to be sexy as well. It depends. I like what you're saying though for sure. Even the adult women in there sniggle. It's sexual. I'd have to see the class to be able to. Oh, no, that's just disgusting. Not like that. That's just disgusting. I mean, depending on what they're teaching. If they're just teaching them to climb the pole and do inverted stuff. Jay, good God. Let's set the Daughters of America up for more. It's so creepy, Jay. He didn't mean it like that, he says. He said, as long as I can get to go see that class and watch them do inverted stuff, then I'm in. That's precisely what he said. Why am I wearing a shirt that said... Why does he have a thing that's a seven-year-old? Pole dancing class is okay with me. It says seven-year-olds like it hot. Oh, my God. L.O.B. It's disgusting, Jay. Jay, you're repugnant. L.O.B. was in a stripper class. Yes. True. It was training. Not training to be a stripper. Aren't you? Wasn't I? Just in case. What's the deal? It is. It's a fitness class. I was sore for like four days afterwards. Fitness?
It's fitness because it's hard as hell to do it, but the whole implication was... Stripping. Stripping. It was sexy. Did all the women in there, did you feel silly? Yeah. You had to get over it. I mean, a lot of the women were just... It'd be hard to get over that. Were there any real big girls in there? No. Oh. All cute girls in there. And, you know, she's doing things like, and you want to face your audience. I mean, if it's just. Face? Yeah. If it's just fitness. Your audience. Maybe they're doing the fitness version of this, though. This was marketed as a fitness class. I've taken a striptease class. Same thing. Oh, wow. You've taken a striptease class. Yes. Where? You are a smelly pirate hooker. At the University of Nude. No, it was at a dance studio. Sluts Inc. It's really, really fun. It's a fun way to get in shape, but it all has... Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Excuse. Where did you see the advertisement? Hustle. I forget. No, you don't. Craigslist, probably. I don't know.
Online somewhere. I took it with a bunch of girlfriends. Was it under casual encounters, LLB? No, it was like women seeking women or something. It was in my lesbian phase. I was going through a phase. So, when you went in there, did they teach you, really, how to take your clothes off? Yeah, we didn't actually take anything off, but the motion was, here, do this, do this. And then the instructor, at one point, actually took things off and threw them at us. A shirt hit one of my friends and she screamed. Maybe Jay and I signed up for that. Well, it was a 75-year-old woman that was teaching the class. No, it was a former dancer. Exotic dancer? Mm-hmm.
Well, it was burlesque in her day. She danced in 1925. She danced in Tombstone. Yes, she danced at the first saloon in Tombstone. She was at the OK Corral. She was hot. Rose from the Titanic. Didn't you guys feel, okay, so the two separate classes, a stripper class you took, a stripping class, and then you took a pole dancing class of the two, which was sillier. Probably the striptease because it was week after week and you got to know people in your class and you had to be like... Oh, wow. You know, do the hand motions by your eyes. Where? Where? Where? In a dance studio. I know, but in the city of San Diego? This was Encinitas. Address. I forget a long time ago. My goodness. You learn something new every day. Yep. What's the next class on your agenda? Let's make some noise in our live studio audience that we have here. Any ladies in the room taking a pole dancing class ever? No? No? Would you like to? I'm giving one out here. Let your voice be heard on the Mikey Show now. Why don't you tell me the whole story? Time to wake up, sir. Call 570-1949. Or shoot him a text at 949mikey at gmail.com. Let's hear it. Live in July, ladies and gentlemen. There's no easy way to put it. We're taking a vacation next week. Oh, God. Oh, God. I was having breakfast with a friend this weekend. And you know what? I'll tell you what. I will ask listeners. I'll ask M1s. What is the best way to do that? Should we not say? Should we say?
I'd be willing to do whatever. We've had this conversation before. I know. We never know what to do. I never know what to do without, to keep, and I was having breakfast with a friend. And she goes, she goes, how come people get mad? And I said, I understand. I said, anger is hurt, sadness, and fear. And they're sad. She said, what are they sad about? I said, it messes with them. They're routine. It's a routine. You know, you're, you're. It's like your coffee. Don't jack with my coffee. I like to have my coffee at this time. Right. You know, and then I think also people go, well, didn't you just, it feels like we just took time. Yeah. Even though we didn't, the last time we took time off was April. Right. And it's now going to be August, you know, and so that's not that bad, you know. We got a big second half of the year coming up. We got cool stuff going down. Yeah. We need to shut the engines down. Yeah. Get them back to neutral. Yep. Okay. And then we're going to come back strong. Firing on all cylinders. That's right. Yes. That's right. I know me, for one, I need to relax. I need to see my family, my friends in Texas. I'm going to do that. I haven't been to see my brother in years. Yeah. Years. And you're going to take a 15-hour train ride to get there. Yep. So. Weird. Talk about relaxing. I have one of those. I have a room on the train. A little room. Yeah. It's very little.
Yeah, it's a little cabinet. Yes. But that's, I love that. It's like an Asian hotel suite. No, it isn't. Yes, it is. How do you know? I know stuff. Japan, they have those tiny little rooms. Tiny. Yeah. I should have said Japanese. Sorry. How do you know? Because I've seen pictures. I'll show you pictures. It's a little coffin. But you like that stuff. I do. I do. If you could sleep in like a cockpit, you'd be fine. I'm the opposite of claustrophobic. Right. You're phobic. Yeah, I'm phobic. Just cluster. Cluster. Does it upset anybody that we go on vacation? Yeah, DC back there shaking, nodding his head. He gets mad. Come talk to us. Come on, Dan. Tell us. Dan, walk me through this because I want to be able to help. Come on up. I want to be able to help. Go to this microphone. Come over here. You want to sit on Mikey's lap. I want to help. You can sit on my lap. I'll walk through this process with you. Now, pull the microphone up close.
We have the vacation, so we got to take the vacation. We got to take the vacation. What should we do? Should we tell you? Should we not tell you? You got to tell us. You got to get prepared. Got to prepare you. My wife says that too. I agree with that. Rebecca says, let everyone know so that they feel like, okay, we're leading up to this. We know it. We know it. We know it. So maybe that. Maybe put it on Facebook, right? Right. Maybe a good idea. And I'm going to tell you guys something. That doesn't mean that you just have free will to go other places. You'd still listen. Yeah, don't pour around. No, you don't. Don't cheat on us. If you're committed, then be committed. Don't cheat on us. Be committed all the way. Don't even sniff something else. You understand? I'll come back and I'll go, were you hanging out with Chainsaw? You smell like Chainsaw. You smell like Cologne. You smell like Cologne. You smell like the show. Why are you wearing a Boston hat? Were you? What do you do? Where did you get that new purse? Where did you get that new purse? Were you listening to the showground? Were you listening to the showground? Were you in the air? You son of a... I can't believe this. I thought we were a thing. How'd you get Legoland tickets? Look, we love you and we want you here. We want you here always.
And you may have missed some stuff. Yeah, we put together a Best Of show. We took all the best and put it together for the whole week. And it's a lot of brand new Best Of stuff. Makes it with some old vintage. Old favorites. Old favorites. M1 Chris from Oceanside. How are you, Chris? I'm doing great. How are you doing? Good. What's going on? First of all, I want to say thank you guys so much for the Comic-Con tickets. You made my niece. It just made her life. She was trying to get them for four years. That's awesome. Yeah, she accused me of making a deal with the devil. That's impossible. I want him for Mikey. But, hey, I was just saying, for those that can't make it to Dave and Buster's, because I can't, I'll program my DVR. What time is Wipeout on tonight? Eight o'clock. Eight to nine. And is it that, do you guys know the episode says boss versus employee or something like that? It's boss and employee. Boss and employee. Okay, so I got it right. I got it programmed. Yep. I thought maybe there might be listeners out there that can't make it as well. I'm sorry, guys. I want to be there. It's okay, man. If you wanted to be there, you'd be there. Yeah, we'll catch you next time we're on Wipeout. Yeah, we'll just get you the next time we'll make our debut on national television. How about spotting me the 20 for the gas money? I'll make it. Done. See you there? Yeah. And he will. It's a done deal. Yeah, we'll give you the 20. I got a fresh 20. Look at he calls me out on it. Yep, we'll give you 20 bucks. You show up.
Come on. I'm not doing that for everybody, but just FYI. Yeah. We'll do it for you, though, Chris. I might call you out on it. Come on. Yeah, we'd love to meet you. There you go. There you go, man. We'll see you tonight. All right, you guys. I'll be there. All right, bro. All right. Look at that. That easy. Thank you. Hollywood. Yeah, tonight is a big night. Woods and Jay. Bam. On TV. Boss employee. This is what I will tell you about it. I do know this. I know that Jay gave Woods a real hard time during the episode. Oh. Yeah. Come on, chubs. Come on, chubs. Come on, fat ass. Get up here. It's awesome. On TV. On TV. Have you seen it? No. We have not seen it. I don't know what they've used or what they didn't use. We haven't seen a lick. We have no idea. I know that I cursed several times on the course. Shocking. On the course. Well, when you're running and something flies out of nowhere, it knocks you 30 feet into the water. You're bound to curse. Yeah, when that happens, do they...
Bleep? They bleep. They bleep, put a little thing over your lips so they can't read it. I can't wait. Oh, my gosh. We may have said some things about Jill. Really? Really? We didn't realize. We knew we had the recorder on, but we forgot because we were just standing on a platform for a while. Jill is the host of the show. Oh, my gosh. You guys. Very foxy. Very foxy. And they capture you when you're just having conversations? You guys might want to buy flowers. Yeah. Her well-tell. Her well-tell. We don't know what they're going to use. Oh, boy. But when we were talking on this said platform, I go, oh, we have her quarters on our head. Yeah. That's not good. After you had said. After we had said all kinds of things. Oh, that's so good. Well, it's Jay and I. We're creeps. Hey, Jay, this is what I want to make sure. We got to make sure that we can hear. Like, we got to be able to hear it because I hope that it's not. Yeah, you know, because a lot of times maybe they would just have the screens on. We got to be able to hear it. I was telling Jay earlier and M1s, I know that you're excited to be there and we're excited, but I want to hear it too. I want to hear it. It's a viewing party. So during commercials, we're going to be yucking it up. And we're there the whole first hour so that we can kind of hang out and mingle.
Eight o'clock when that thing starts. Hopefully we're all in it and we're all absorbed in it, you know? Is there an area that we're in or is it just... Yeah, it's when you go into Dayton Busters, you'll take that ride into, it's like a big... meeting room and it's got stair-stepped and the whole thing, it's a giant screen. Yeah, yeah. That's a cool room. You guys might need like a silent enforcer. Yeah, exactly. Like at the golf course, they hold the sign up. Quiet, please. I'm sure that would be effective. Yeah, seriously. I'll just crack skulls. Woods is so nervous that people are going to make fun of him and I'm like, dude, it's television. Like you're on a nationally national show. People are going to think it's cool. Listen, they've already, there's already a picture me up. Okay. There's already a picture of Jay and I up there. And they're making cracks already. And I'm like, my bit is, hey, when were you on Wipeout? So why don't you feast? All right. Exactly. But you can tell because you're like grumpy, serious about it. Like you're not like joking, funny about it. He's been really, really like nervous. And leading up to this, he has had private conversations with me where he's like, dude, people are going to be awful to me. And they're going to say.
So great. Yeah, it sure is. That's why I'll be on Xanax. Hill, what do you got coming up? Well, I am going to play that new Switchfoot song because I get a lot of calls for it. Dark Horses. It's really good. And I have a leftover request from yesterday for Drama-Rama. I also grabbed Surfer Blood, TV on the radio, and at noon, a Desert Island disc that is going to melt your face. This is going to be a weird day for me because I'm going to go home and go to sleep. Because I go to bed at 6 o'clock at night, get up at 1.30 in the morning, and so... This thing won't even be over until 9 tonight. So tomorrow's going to be a fun day on the air in terms of our wackiness. I think we're going to be loopy. So anyway, see us tonight. It's the Wipeout Viewing Party at Dave & Buster's. It starts at 7. It goes from 7 to 9. Tonight at Dave & Buster's Mission Valley. One more time, make some noise in our live studio audience. Thank you for joining us here. And we will see you tomorrow morning at 6. The Mikey Show is out.
What? We're not independent? You're kidding me. There must be a way to find these things out. FM 94.9. It's about the music.
