The show kicked off with Mikey welcoming M1 callers and noting Gavin DeGraw’s recent assault in New York, then moved into a discussion of the Dow’s sharp drop and Jay’s questionable stock tips. A recurring Wheel of Pain segment saw the hosts guess real versus fake band names and suffer comedic punishments, while Woods shared a personal tale of being jumped in a Chicago alley. Later, the program featured in‑depth interviews—first with baseball legend Trevor Hoffman about his impending number retirement, then with Mark Devine of SealFit detailing the grueling 50‑hour Kokoro camp. Throughout the broadcast the crew weighed in on topics ranging from Facebook’s impact on students to the Kings of Leon tour cancellation and a listener’s food‑court stalking story.
What happened, in order

Woods Chicago Alley Jump

Wheel of Pain Punishments
During the Wheel of Pain game, Woods endures hot‑sauce drops, bag‑tag shots, a dodgeball hit, and a duct‑taped wax job to the chest.

Let's do this thing then. Call us up. 570-1949. Are you an M1? Are you a member of M1 Nation? M1s are Mikey Show listeners. They turn their radio down, get to the point, and don't cuss when they call in. And if that is you, we want to hear from you. Now, your question may be, well, what do we call about? Mikey, what do we say? Well, you can say whatever. You can talk about whatever you want. You can. It's your, you know... It's your time, as Jeff Spicoli said in Fast Times at Richmond High. Well, if I'm here and you're here, doesn't that make it our time? Our time? It does. Which is what they said in the Goonies. They said that in that too? And they said it's our time down here. It's true. There you go. So, even more reason. We got so many things to tell you. For instance, Gavin DeGraw, we got to tell you about how he got jumped. Wow.
We're going to tell you about the Dow, which is a freakish story. And if you're the type of person that is inclined to know about stocks and all that kind of stuff, love to talk to you. Please call us, 570-1949, because you will be well equipped to tell us. And I don't understand it all that much. And I want to understand it more. Well, Jay's here. I can tell you everything you need to know. Yeah, we'll ask Jay. Jay is the last person in the world. to be asking for advice on stocks because he suggested this stock to Woods that he didn't himself even buy. That should be the indicator, though, wouldn't it? We didn't know that you didn't buy it. We thought you were going to buy it because you suggested we buy it. What I said was is that this guy told me about this stock that had potential, that was like waiting for some patents. I do not remember it being that way. I don't remember it. He said... You guys need to get in on the stock. That's a lie. You guys need to get in, and you need to get in big. Great stock. He said, I have a feeling about this one. Yes. My brother, my little brother, bought 5,000 shares of it. Oh. Oh. Not a good idea. I bought, like, 200. Not a good idea. No. Steadily declined. Say it is. Can't see Charles Schwab in there? No, it's not. Apparently it is. I didn't buy it. It's not Charles Schwab. Good point.
I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show. I am 41, and I have learned at 41 years of age to not buy penny stocks. I've only bought one, and it was a turd. It went south, and it went south real fast, and I got rid of it. I do have a couple of stocks, and the best advice I ever got was from George Chamberlain, who's on NBC San Diego, and what he said was, just buy stocks and the things that you buy, use on a regular basis because you believe in it. Like Marlboro and Copenhagen Long Cut? Pretty much. I wonder if Copenhagen Long Cut... Of course they do. You think? Of course they do. Let me see your can. I'm not going to suggest that anybody do tobacco because tobacco is a bad thing. So bad. But yeah, there's a parent company. It may be Copenhagen, but there's a parent company. Make that right. Yeah, I mean...
I wouldn't feel comfortable buying that stock because, you know, it's an addictive product. No. Do you think wheat has a parent company? If I invest in that? Acai? Yeah. Maybe? See? Kombucha? There you go. Kombucha does have a parent company. You know, your favorite brand has a parent company. And so, you know, you could get stock in it. You could get stock in Vivid. There are woods. And I. Did some stuff that is pretty freaking funny. Well, it's stuff that I would rather not think about. Vivid, huh? Wicked. F Street. How do you feel about that, Mike? Good morning, Mike. Hello, Mike. Let's talk about pornography. Mike, I'm just trying to get you in the mood. I'm scared to see Jay's portfolio. Joke at 6.03 yesterday. A little behind that. $8 this morning. I won't get you. You're blessed. Woods is our sports guy. He's 36. He wears white V-necks every day. New brand. That's right. And I really like it. Try to get all new fresh ones this week. Lauren O'Brien is that blonde, blue-eyed girl sitting to my right. Why the glasses today, young lady? Because on Friday...
I am going to Clearview Laser Iron Medical Center. Who are you going to meet with? Dr. Sandy T. Feldman. And I'm going to get a consultation to get my eyes did. Bam! So you can't wear the contact lenses? They want me to wear glasses for the next couple days. I asked them if I could bend the rules and pop them in for like an hour at a time to get a workout in. They said no. Stop it. Why do you need to see well to get on a treadmill? I don't get on a treadmill. I will run outside. What do you do in the gym? You need your eyesight. I can't see five feet in front of me. Everything. I would literally run into a wall or a person or drop a weight. I can't see. I got you. You wouldn't know, Mikey. You're never in a gym. I'm just that voice behind your head that says, here I am, Mike. Ready to slay you. I'm going to get you and get you and get you. I'll just get you over and over and over again. That's a 20-footer. 25. Three tons of them. You hear that, Mike? Three tons of them. That should have been three tons of you. You have Mike Esparza. You should have just said three tons of Mike. Esparza. In the script. Michael Edwards Esparza. Esparza. Jay is the man sitting between me and that glass. Yes. It's on the other side of that glass, and he just sits over there, and he just...
Just loves on you. Shirt shimmies. Shirt shimmies all morning long. Hugs for everyone. And our phone screener is Chris. That's Chris. And he is the youngest guy on the Mikey Show. He's only 22. And he's our phone screener. So if you call right now, you get to talk to him. Like M1 Cam from Oceanside. What's up? Good morning, Mikey Show, and welcome back. Thank you. Hey, so you said that you saw Captain America and you enjoyed it, yeah? Yes, sir. Did you stay after the credits and see the little teaser for next year's movie? My brother made me. My brother knew and we did. We stayed in the theater and we waited until every last credit was finished. And then you saw a trailer for the movie coming out next year that will involve all of the movies put together. Iron Man with Robert Downey Jr. It's going to be all of these characters that you've seen are going to be in one movie called The Avengers. Cool. Maybe I'm in. So Captain America and Thor and that's the thing I've said. Woods made a face. Iron Man and am I forgetting one, Cam? Well, they're going to introduce an archer dude who's basically a ripoff of Captain Arrow. But you can keep Thor and still enjoy The Avengers.
Yeah, my brother said the same. I told him I didn't want to see Thor. And he said, it's good. And I said, I don't believe you. And he said, well, Natalie Portman's in it. And I said, okay, well, then you convince me. I'll see it. Really? Because of that? Yeah. Well, that's a reason not to see it. No, I didn't think she'd be in a bad movie. She's not a bad actress. She's a good actress. She won an Academy Award, pal. Wow, great. So did Tatum O'Neill. Big deal. She was good, too. She's a good actress. Okay. I mean, the person's good. You know. And there's also Scarlett Johansson. Oh, okay. Sold. I'm in on that. I'm in on those. Yeah, for sure. Oh, I get what you meant. Do you put the feeling on what I'm putting down there? I do. Something dirty. I watched that little angel yesterday and lost in translation. Angel. She's an angel. Yeah, she's a beautiful girl. Cam, thank you. No problem. Thank you. You got it. 570-1949 is the number. So yesterday, oh, wait a minute. First of all, word of the day, symphony. So when I say symphony between now and 10, if you're caller nine, you'll get to go see the Chargers and the Seahawks at Qualcomm on Thursday night. Nationally broadcast game and first one of the season. Be nice. It'll be real good. Wheel of Pain at 730. Quickly becoming a M1 favorite.
The nation loves it, and what it is is we have fake band names and real band names. I read them off, and Woods and Jay have to tell me, that's real or that's fake. The person who gets the most right does not have to spin the wheel. The person that gets the most wrong does. And the Wheel of Pain is finding a new item on it today. And what is it, Jay? It is a duct tape wax job. Like 40-year-old virgin. Up top or down below? Up top. Oh, okay. On your chest. Thank God. On your chest. Thank God. Are you sure? 570-1949 or text us 949mikey at gmail.com. Call us if you know about the Dow. I can give you the facts. Yesterday was a bad day for the Dow Jones Industrial Average. 635 points. Now, that's the worst decline since December 1st.
of 2008 it's bad now i gotta think that what this does mean though is that it's a good time to buy which is when you know the last time it was really really bad is when i bought and it was good because it was cheap yeah but then it goes back up again right you know so this may be a good time for you to buy but anyway i'm sure you know by now that our rating as a country our economic rating Went from AAA to what they call AA+. Sounds like batteries. But went from AAA, we were a AAA country, the strongest in the world. And now we are not. Well, but this is a bit misleading. Don't freak out. Because everybody's freaking out and they're like, oh my gosh. This is one company that said this, Standard & Poor's. Okay, S&P, you've heard of the S&P? Standard & Poor's, they said it.
OK, there are other ones, too. And they we still have a great rating with them. And so President Obama, he was trying to let everybody know, look, we're still a triple A country, despite what Standard & Poor's says. Donald Trump. I don't get Donald Trump. He was on on the record with Greta Van Susteren. And it sounds like he's seen two different things. Like on one hand, he's saying that. The people from the S&P from Standard & Poor's are a bunch of like – they just are wallowing in the attention that they're getting right now. Doomsayers. Yeah, but that they're enjoying the attention that they're – like they're on the news. Right. Listen to what Donald Trump said. It's so weird. Oh, gosh. My connection. Oh, boy. Now, I know the S&P from lots of experience, including watching them miss so many calls over the last couple of years. These people are probably publicity hungry. They probably love doing what they're doing. I see their representatives all over the press. They're being heroes. Publicity hungry. They did it because they want publicity. Takes one to know one. Yeah, fair enough. Going home to their wives and boyfriends and everybody else. And, you know, I think they're loving it. I just watch them. I see them being interviewed. And I think they're loving it. They're losers. They shouldn't have done what they did.
But they did it, and they had a reason to do it. Well, which is it, Don? They're publicity hungry, or they had a reason to do it? They wanted to do it. They shouldn't have done it, but they had a reason if they wanted to do it. And the reason is that we really do have a dysfunctional government right now. So they're not losers. But they are losers. But they are losers. But wait, Mike. They're not losers, but they're losers. They're doo-doo heads. Yeah, butt heads. There you go. Anyway, 635 points is what they lost yesterday. 5.5%. That's a lot. It doesn't seem like a lot, but it is when you're dealing with it so much. My portfolio is shot. It's shot, man. 401k. See, listen, Woods. When you pretend that this doesn't affect you because you don't have stocks, that's not true. Listen, I know it does. I live in this country, all right? I get it, but it's a bummer for sure. You don't really believe it's a bummer. I do. You think it's boring. No, it scares me. It doesn't scare you. It does. You're pretending right now like it does, but you're like, eh, whatever. I don't like the bear market, all right? I like the bull market. See, he's just making up.
He's saying things that he's heard before. The truth is, it feels very adult to him. There's a debt crisis. Very grown up. Yeah. To many of us, it seems very grown up talk. Boring, eye rolling, shark eyes. Your eyes roll over like a shark until they turn white. I'm telling you, it affects all of us. There's no question it does. I know. Do you know what they're saying about it? Yeah, totally. It's bad. It's really bad. Really. Interest rate. We should be against it. Yeah, I vote no. points this is a good time to maybe try to buy a house yep where's the money for that well not here and not in california it's not just take all your mcdonald's money and pull it and that's a shot at you woods i know you're on my sides too little one won't get you i'll see you i see you i'm sitting up here in my blind with my 30 eye and there's a little bitty Fawn walking right out in the middle of the field in the woods. I'm not a fawn. Oh, yes, you are. You think you're a buff? I'm a buff. I got you in my crosshairs. Me, little fawn. Me, little fawn. Me, little fawn. You're a little girl. I'm not a fawn. Come on now. I'm not a fawn. I'm going to feed you right out of my hand. Hand feed you and then slit your throat. I'm taking Nick Duggets, all you can eat. Here's a chocolate shake. This guy. He likes vanilla shakes. That's true. Come on. That's right. True story. Oh, man. I almost lost it.
If the Padres win six in a row, Woods has to shave a fryer's cut into his hair. And they had won four in a row. Yeah. They had won four in a row. And last night, they... Oh, no! They suck again! They blew it real good. Real good. Okay, so they're up. I blame Woods. Yeah, everybody did. I blame you. I blame you because you won't let me out of the bed. I blame you because you're wishing it upon me. Oh, now I have to. Last night was crunch time. So they're up four runs. The Padres, let me preface. They have the best bullpen in baseball. Period. If you can get to the game, if you can get to the eighth inning with a lead, they've won a hundred and some odd in a row. Okay, so you give it to Chad Qualls and Heath Bell. That's been the formula. Qualls gives up two runs. Heath Bell comes in. He's got a two-run lead in the ninth. And I'm looking at the TV going, well, I'm screwed. I'm done. There's no way Heath Bell's going to cough this thing up. Guy gave up three runs on four hits. It was a walk-off win for the Mets. I almost jumped out. And I love Heath Bell, and I love the Padres, but I almost jumped out of my own skin. My wife was jumping up and down with me. She does not want me to get a fryer's haircut. Because Woods is growing his hair out. Yeah.
And it's, what's the name of that actor? Fat Bradley Cooper. Well, I'm going to be the Fat Bradley Cooper. You're not fat. My face is fat. No, it isn't. It's fat. It's chubby. It's fine. And so, you know, you've grown your hair out. Yeah. It's long. For me, it's the longest it's ever been. It's longer than it's ever been. So you're going to have to cut that hair. I'm not going to. Unless they win six in a row. And they had won four. Last night would have been, should have been five. Longer than it's ever been. It is long. Your hair. You've been using an ovation? Absolutely. We got it in the shower at home. So anyway, there it is. Padre's not doing so well. Oh man, it was a close one. But Heath Bell had converted 65 of his last 67. Can't win them all. Can't win six. Cannot win them all. It sucks rooting against them, but you gotta be done. You're cursed, Wood. You are. You're like Oliver from the Brady Bunch. You're a jinx. Good. M1 cave dweller from Wisconsin, of course, can explain the S&P 500, the Dow Jones Industrial Average, all of it. Break it down into regular terms for us, my friend. S&P downgrade is nothing more than pressure from the financial sector being exerted on the political sector. Right. Now, wait, I thought that was pretty easy to understand. You get that, right, Woods? They're just putting pressure.
They're saying, hey, you guys, you don't pay your bills. You look like you're not going to be able to pay your bills. You actually can pay them. But the fact that you look like you can't makes us worry about you. That's it, right? Yeah, yeah. And unfortunately, the way that affects consumer confidence, because we're very, very fickle and we change our minds very quickly. For instance, with all the movement in the market, my parents lost about $50,000 in retirement. In five days. Oh, my God. That's a lot. That's a lot. But wait. But if they just hang on, the market can recover and the money will come back. Yes. The only problem is if you're close to retirement age or because of the accident my father had last November, he might get a severance package. be let go. I hope not. At which point he'd have to retire and he may have to live off of that and 50 grand is a year's worth of living. Yeah, you gotta tighten the belt for a couple years. That's right. That sucks. Thank you very much, Cave Dweller. As usual, you're a wealth of knowledge. Thank you. Smart, dude. Smart. Crystallizing my thoughts eloquently. It's just gorgeous. Let's hear it for me. Let's do it. Yeah. Smart. How about this monster?
that shot this cop here in San Diego. It's a nut job. Officer Jeremy Henwood. He's only 36 years old, four-year veteran on the police force here in San Diego. And this guy walks up to a parked car at the In-N-Out Burger in El Cajon and shoots a guy in his car. The guy's just sitting there, okay? And then he takes off. By the way, this nut job had written a suicide note, left it at his house. And after he shoots the guy in the face, by the way, that guy is expected to recover. But after he shoots the guy, he gets in his black Audi and he speeds off. And this police officer sees the guy. By the way, the guy that shot him is Dijon Marquis. Dijon Marquis White, 23 years old. He has also been killed because cops shot him.
They got into a shootout. But anyway, so this police officer that died, he sees some erratic driving, erratic behavior, chases the guy, and he's going to pull him over. Then he speeds off. He's going 100 miles an hour. And a civilian, after he pulls up alongside of this cop and shoots the cop, and a female civilian takes that cop's radio and starts asking for help. They said they saw a vehicle that matches a vehicle they're looking for involved in a shooting that occurred in El Cajon. So southbound 15 from an 8, there was a black Audi with no plates, about 5 years old. It was occupied by a black male, 25 to 30, driving at a very high rate of speed. And again, it closely matches the suspect vehicle involved in a shooting in Bradley and Magnolia. Suspect in that shooting was a black male, 6 foot, short curly hair.
Green shorts. He was armed with a shotgun. Again, that's a black Audi. They thought he was about five years old. A no-maker model. And no play given. There's an officer's shot. There's an officer's shot. He's still breathing. That's a civilian right there. He's really a hero to me. This woman just, wham, grabs the radio and starts asking for help. 45th and University. 45th and University, 1199. I don't know who that is on the air. Put it out. 45th and you. How many going? 1199, 45th and U. Is there a supervisor on the air? 13 Sam Templar. Receiving a hot call about a citizen calling 45 University regarding 116, 1199. We got him. We're on the way. 45th and University. 45th and University, 1199. I had a citizen on the air saying that there was an officer shot. Somebody rolling. 813 Sam 97 there at 45th and U. 813 Sam there.
All those cops, man. I mean, it was every cop in the area coming up. I mean, that's as serious as it gets, and unfortunately, the officer did not make it. He had survived a couple of tours in Afghanistan. And then to come back here and get shot by a suicidal clown, you know, it's just brutal. Brutal. This guy's taking the crazy easy way out where he wants to be shot. Suicide by cop. If you're going to do it, just do it yourself. I know. Don't involve other people. Take somebody out with you. Almost two people. Dirtbag. He was obviously, you know, nuts. He's crazy.
It's tough because, you know, you think to yourself, well, you're not dealing with a regular person. You're dealing with somebody that's clearly nuts, but it doesn't bring any, you know, doesn't still hurts. Now, Gavin DeGraw, you may or may not know who Gavin DeGraw is. As soon as I play you the music, you'll go, oh, yeah, I know who that is. Hear about what happened to him. Happened in New York City. He's in the hospital. We'll tell you what happened to this guy when we come back. Oh, and also, have you heard about Al Gore's cursing tirade about global warming? Freaking out, cursing. We got it bleep, but it's nice. So your military action against Jay has nothing to do with us civilians, yet he's promising an attack back on us. I'm a woman and you're a child. Yeah, I'm a child and she's a woman. But you're the boss.
I didn't, hey. Control his bodily functions. Okay, what happened was. I follow the rules. You're not allowed to fart in this studio. Correct. Okay. This is part of the studio. No, it's not. Yes. What he did was Woods walked out of our inner sanctum studio where Jay is and he said, watch this, guys. I'm going to go fart next to Jay. Yep. And he did. Every time. And he did. And Jay got upset. And Jay came in and announced, I'm going to come in here and do that and get you back. And me and L.O.B. protested. We said, this is not our. This is not our fight. I'm bringing the war to your shores. No. Yes. This is not my shore. There's going to be casualties at home. Yeah. I mean, it's casualties of war. I'm like Switzerland here. Yeah. We're Switzerland. We're both Switzerland. Switzerland and Mexico. That's right. Well, you guys need to form like a UN and control it. That's not my job. It is. Well, I'm sorry. Someone call America. There's going to be some bloodshed. I guess so. Gavin DeGraw. Gavin DeGraw, I like to call him. I'm a fan of his music. I think he's got pretty good music. He's most known for this one. I Don't Want to Be. A song that broke him. Made him famous. They put it on the show One Tree Hill. Oh, that's where it's from. And after it was on One Tree Hill, he got discovered and then he became a star. So, dude is in New York City and he gets jumped by what they're calling a group. That's all they say. A group.
They don't mean a group like Journey. They don't mean that. Boston. Yeah, they don't mean Boston. They're just saying that he got attacked, and it's not clear what led to it, but it happened in the East Village. They don't know how many people were in said group that jumped him, but his manager issued a statement that said, Gavin DeGraw was assaulted late Sunday night and was taken to the emergency room at Bellevue. By ambulance. He's under observation. And they say he had a broken nose and cuts on his face, but that he's okay. He had just left hanging out with his friends when it happened. But no further details are available. Now, who knows what that means? It could mean that he was a hapless victim that was walking down the street and got jumped. Or it could mean that he was lippy and he was by himself. There was a group of thugs and he got it.
Happened to Woods one time. Yeah, it did. Who's Lippy with a group of thugs? Woodsies. Woods was. Woodsie, how do you? Didn't you calculate? Oh, there's more of them than me. My deal, what happened to me was when I lived in Chicago, I was going to my girlfriend's house and there was two ways to go. And there was the long way or the way through the alley by the train tracks, the subway or the L train track. So I walked through the alley and these dudes. Basically, it costed me. And I'd had a few pops. Wait, these guys were in the alley. Yeah, chilling. Like, literally leaning on a dumpster, like smoking a cigarette. Right. And they, like, kind of surrounded me. And my deal was... Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I thought they were mouthing off me. They were. They were. But I'm just... And you mouthed back, and then they surrounded you. No, no. They were catcalling me. And I was like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And then they just kind of... They, like, blocked me from walking down the alley. And I was like, great. And my deal was one of you is going to, like, die or, like, get hurt. I'm going to – you guys are going to get me, but I'm going to get one of you. One of you is walking away with something. I've seen the pictures. It looks like you lost. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, three on one. Three on one. Why didn't you turn around as soon as you saw them, like, leaning against the dumpster smoking?
Because, you know, I lived in Chicago for a while. It was just my deal was I was going to walk through the alley and go to my girl's house. You know, I wasn't thinking they were going to jump me for my money. But you're brave. Well, brave slash dumb because you will not have guys say stuff to you and not say something back. Never. Never. Maybe now. Maybe. I don't know now. Because of this job, probably. I mean, that's really the only reason. Shoot. I see three guys standing in a... alleyway. I'm immediately going the other way. But that's Chicago, though. I mean, that's everywhere you go in the big city, man. I mean, if you lived your life like that there, you wouldn't make it a week. Well, I'll tell you this. If three guys are lippy to me, gentlemen, very sorry. Very sorry. I don't care what they're saying. Very sorry. If I say anything at all. You gotta think, too. I was 22. And full of beer. Yeah, full of beer. There'd be a cartoon outline of me, and I'd be gone. Yeah, so they worked me over pretty good, but I got a couple good shots in. They got a dollar out of my wallet, by the way. I had been out with my boys. I was in college. I didn't have money. How much were your medical bills? I don't know. I mean, I was on my parents' insurance. It looks like they were large. It was big.
It was big. I had a broken nose, a broken elbow, a mangled face. Don't you have a metal rod in your arm? I've got a screw in my right elbow. Oh, my gosh. I got the kid. I got you good. It's the beauty about being young, though. I healed up. In like four weeks, I was completely healed. When you're young. Oh, yeah. I'll tell you what, though. I was never that courageous. Physically, you're six feet tall. Yeah, but I was skinny as a rail back then. As a rail, but just a little bit nuts. Yeah. Just a little bit. Little screwy. I fought all the time, but it was always a one-on-one kind of situation, man. One on two? Three. Yeah, one on three will get you. One bar fight like that, and I lost it. Not me, man. I only got in one fight in my life. I was in high school, and I got sucker punched. It's the worst. Yeah. I've been...
I got sucker punched and it was so humiliating. It seems like things have changed. People don't fight like that anymore. Growing up, we fought all the way. All the time. The coaches usually allowed it. I fought one whole class period. They made us keep fighting. You know what? I do remember Jay fighting when I was a little kid, but I didn't fight as a teen. All the way up through high school. Do you guys remember that feeling that you got in your stomach? Well, you got one fight, you still remember it. I got in a few, and the feeling that you have, like, all right, it's on after school, dude. It's on. And you're like, yeah, yeah, yeah. The whole day, you're just like, the adrenaline is like nothing. So glad I'm a girl. It's like nothing you've ever experienced, that adrenaline. It's the worst feeling. Especially when you know you're going to get your butt kicked. Yes, which has happened to me many a time. There would never be a time where I thought that I wasn't. I would never be in a situation where I would go, oh, I'm winning this. Oh, I got this. Never. What if he was a blind guy? If he was a blind guy, I would feel that way. You might have a shot. But I'd still have a little bit of reluctance. Like, he might get me, though. But then you're the guy that beat up a blind guy. Yeah, then I'm the guy that beat up a blind guy. You gotta beat up his dog, too. That's right. Wow. It's the truth. Yeah, well. It's Jay. Shock job. He just has a walking stick.
Kane doesn't have to have a dog. All you have to have is a Whopper Jr. for Matt. Distract him. He'd be on the scent. Matt could go for the Whopper Jr. Kick him in the head. Punch him in the neck. Karate chop. So listen to this Al Gore rant. Now this is loud. This audio. So I'm going to turn it down. He's appearing. He's appearing in front of this media panel, Al Gore is. Man, he sure is into that global warming, man. Listen to this. You might need a new laptop. It's not. Ours all works. You should just give me that one. I'll take it. It's a wildest. It isn't working. Should we just reenact it? Very frustrating for me. I know it is. You hate it. Worse than anything. You hate it more than anything. Here we go. I think. He's really into the earth getting hot.
Yeah. He's into it. Older people cursing so vehemently makes me laugh. And the old guy just cursing. The old guy, like, so passionate about stuff that he has to curse, it just kills me. You know what would probably set him off? Knowing that you thought it was funny. Oh, yeah. That set him off. Would me doing my styrofoam bonfires, you think that would make him mad? Yeah. Smoking inner tube tire cigarettes. Definitely. I'd get him mad. Jay really wants us to play Dolly Parton rapping. So bad. For days. He's been saying for days. You ever going to play that, Mike? You know Dolly. I just waste my time? Just take my ideas and shove them down the toilet? Cool, man. How's this work? I'll kill you. I guess I'll just send you ideas and you say you're going to do them and then... You don't follow up? Don't. Guess you're the boss. Whatever. Whatever. Happy birthday. Noted. I guess I'll just have to start my own website for cool stuff. I'll give out the website. It'll be called jstuff.com. And if Mike don't play it, you can go there and hear it. Jay's cool stuff. K-E-W-L. Jay's cool stuff.com. Or I'll just get on Facebook and say, watch this. Right. Post it. Check it. People will. You know they will. Loud jam. Right out of the game. Record that a little hotter. No. It's perfect.
Piping. Piping, smoking. Territory. Oh, God. And in my territory, we'd be singing, she'd be coming around the mountain when she comes. Shut it up. Turn it off. Hey, I don't know nothing out of you. You should. This is between me and the queen. You're getting all of it. Please turn it. Please turn it. Oh, where do I go from here? I don't have it. I don't. It makes Woods angry. Okay, I'll be your therapist. What is it? Is it hurt? Is it sadness? Is it fear? It's hurt. Because you used to like her? I'm fearful. You're fearful that people will like that? Yes. I'm fearful that human beings will find that amusing. I love you. I love it. That's what scares me. Woods is angry. Loved it. The decline of...
The video is hideous, too, because she's standing with her arms all bowed, and she's like... To me, it didn't sound like the crowd loved it. To me, it sounded like the crowd was confused. And nervous laughter. Nervous laughter. That makes me uncomfortable. Yes. But she's done it more than one time. Oh, it sounds like a standard bit. Because the drummer is playing the beat. It's her bit. Yeah, but it was terrible. It's infuriating. She needs to work it out. No, she doesn't. That's her whole act, though. Her whole act is just... Is rapping? Jay, how do you know that? How do you know what Dolly Parton's... Y'all didn't know she's on tour with Wu-Tang. She puts her tees out there and she starts rapping and that's what she do. I've seen her in Branson a hundred times. Yeah, man, I've been to Branson. That's where I spend every summer. She's got tassels and spurs. Y'all should see it before you criticize it. Jay, did you like that? No! Are you sure? Yeah! Didn't you? Wow. Do you guys know Kim Kardashian suing Old Navy because they put a lookalike, like a Kim Kardashian lookalike? I heard something about that. But then I saw it was about Kim Kardashian. So people can't look like her anymore. Right. They're not allowed to look like her. She's on Good Morning America talking about it. Oh, I'm going to kill it. I'm going to kill it. I'm going to put an arrow through it.
Once we go to break, I'm going to restart it. Oh, gosh. You should restart your computer. Oh, gosh. I'm going to lose my mind. My ever-loving mind. Last month, Kim sued Old Navy over this commercial featuring a lookalike. Parent company, The Gap, hasn't commented on the suit. I think that when there's confusion out there and people might mistake me for working for another company, it was just, I think, a smart business decision to make sure that no one confuses me with anyone else other than my own clothing lines. What's the matter, Woods? What's your problem with Kardashian doing that? Makes good business sense. Does it? So I can sue Chaz Bono for looking like me? Yeah. Nope. Why? Because you don't have your own clothing line. Not yet. And if somebody came out looking like Woods, okay, so Woods starts his own guitar company called Woods Guitar. It's popular. People are buying it. And then some...
A company like somebody that you are not into. Right. Somebody that you are not into. Nickelback. Yes. Nickelback decides that they're going to get a guy that looks like Woods to advertise their guitars. Right. And you're like, hey, man, that ain't me. I know it looks just like me, but don't try to make me into a Nickelback guy. You're just upset because you think she's a clown. Yeah, that's probably it. You think she's a clown? Maybe it is a good business to move. You can't trademark a look. Yeah, you can't trademark what you look like. Yeah, if they said Kim. Right. And her name was KK or something. Everyone looks the same now anyway. Yeah, so all these big butt girls are now out of work. Yeah. Does a girl in the ad have a big butt, L.O.B.? Well, I'm just seeing her face and it looks like her, but it's not like they're putting her with two other sisters or anything like that. Okay, but here's the thing.
It looks so much like her that it's like, I thought I was looking at Kim Kardashian. That girl can't help what she looks like. Please, you know what they're doing, L.O.B. Oh, come on. Come on. Children, we're going to act like we don't get that they're doing... She looks like her, but I can definitely discern the difference. No problem. Please. If I had showed you that, I bet you'd have gone, oh, it's Kim Kardashian. And then you would have criticized him and been like, I hate her. If anyone's a Kim Kardashian fan... then they would know that that's not her. That's pretty close. How do you know that? Are you a Kim Kardashian fan? I've watched Keeping Up with the Kardashians. I've seen it. Isolate. I've seen it as well. It's a boring show. It is. Gee, a bunch of sisters that cackling don't do anything. It's boring. I don't watch it with the sound, though. You always know they're getting into shenanigans because they play that music that's like... Oh, they're just up to no good. The producers, they're like, hey mom. And you're like, oh boy. I have no interest. Like zero, beyond. I didn't think I would either. Upside down interest. I got negative 10 interest. I don't know anything about Kim Kardashian other than she's gorgeous. People think that she's a clown because I guess they're watching. I don't even, I don't know. I feel sorry for the dad. Bruce Jenner.
Gosh, what is he? And whatever's going on with his hair. And one Franklin from Carlsbad. Hey, what's going on this morning? Well, I'm learning a lot about L.O.B. and J. That's what's going on. I wanted to comment. I read, and I know we're not going to get into gossip, but I heard that that woman that does the Old Navy spots also for a time dated Reggie Bush. I thought that was interesting. Well, yes, but only because Reggie didn't know that it wasn't chemical. That might have been it. Hey, listen, that's how close she looks to Kim Kardashian. No, maybe that's why she's suing. That's her beef. Hey, listen, that is a lucky woman. She looks just like Kim Kardashian. I wish that people sued me because I looked so much like Bradley Cooper or Brad Pitt. Not going to happen. Maybe Danny DeVito. Yeah, what if Danny DeVito came out and was like, this radio host is trying to hack my look? Would you sue him? I give up. Danny DeVito. Maybe, Mike, let's pretend Louis Anderson was Mexican and a midget. Remember Dom DeLuise? How about Tattoo? Yeah, remember Dom? Hey, what if Dom DeLuise and Tattoo had a baby and then got short? Mexican. Let's say Dom DeLuise, Danny DeVito had a baby and they put him in a tannin bed. Slapped a goatee on him. Shaved his little head.
What if every Munchkin and Wizard of Oz came out of the woodwork, Mike? And then turned Mexican. What would you do then? Mike, what if Munchkinland was Mexicoland? Still think it's a good business idea, Mike? Good business decision? Oompa Loompas. Talk about yourselves. Oh, boy. I swear it once. I swear it all. At one point, he'll always lose control. Because he gets a car up to 100 miles an hour and he's speeding down. Yeah, it looks cool. For a while, but eventually, there's going to be an accident. Oh, yeah. He'll hit an oil slick somewhere. Yeah, sure. He gets the car going. Here we go. But eventually, it's going to crash. Pretend that the Wizard Oz was like... The Wizard Oz... Pretend the Wizard Oz was like...
We represent the lollipop girl. The lollipop girl. The lollipop girl. Pretend now, you know. Oh, my face hurts. It's killing me. Of a weatherman live on TV and a moth flies into his mouth. And I'm going to play it next. A screw loose to go in for that sort of thing. Call 570-49. Or shoot him a text at 949mikey at gmail.com. I got the world by the tail. In fact, I just got a new pair of, what do you call it? I'll post it on our fan page. I just got some Wayfarers because they're back. Ray-Ban's Wayfarers are back. But here's the thing. You know, that's a designer brand. And when you think about it, you're going to the mall and you're hassling with trying to find parking and hassling with the whole mall thing only to get in there. And they don't even have all of the designer brands. Sunglass and Optical Warehouse, they're the largest selection of the designer brands. Over 7,000 pair. Over 7,000. Think about that. It's a lot, man.
Now, they've got three locations. Sports Arena, Kearney Mesa, La Jolla. And they've been doing this for years. It's the only place that I'll go. And I mean it. I want sunglasses. I'm a little nervous, but I'm going to try something different here. I'm going to try to deliver a couple of stories without perusing them first. It's going to be an experiment. I'm pulling the curtain back. I'm going to let you in on it. Facebook is causing kids to do worse in school. Apparently. It's distracting kids. Now, I know that that doesn't sound like that much of a big deal to you. But it used to be that that was something that kids would do on their little breaks and stuff like that. They're not anymore. Now they're doing it right when they're in this class. And they're saying that it could even be causing some psychological disorders. Can you imagine that? You've got to really be careful with your kids in the Facebook, man. Give them smartphones. Yeah. That's why they're doing it. It's on their phone.
Why don't you get them the cheap kind of phones that just make phone calls? Yep. I'm fine with that. And text. That's it. You know why people don't? You know why parents don't? Because they don't want to hear their kids bitch at them. It's an image thing, too. I think a lot of parents want, oh, of course they have the iPhone. Look how cool they are. It's like Air Jordans were when I was a kid, or the Bo Jackson cross trainers. I had to have them and would have done anything to get them. See, I never got them. Boy, I had to have them. I had to have them, too. My parents said no. I mean, my dad put me through the ringer to get them, but I got them. I just got a friend request from a 13-year-old, a friend of my family, 13-year-old. 13. It's pretty gnarly. They did tests of 700 preschool kids' packed lunches, and they found that fewer than 2% of the meats and vegetables and dairy products were cool enough to be safe. They were too hot. Yeah. It makes sense, man. It does. When you think about it. I do it with my lunch all the time when I bring it. I'll take my lunch out of the fridge hours before I eat it. Probably six hours before I actually end up eating it. That's not good. When we were kids, we took tuna sandwiches with cheese on them to school. It's true. And they stayed in our locker the whole time. No one died. No one died. It's true. He's right. He's right. It's disgusting, but he's right. We'll be all right. We'll be fine, right?
Ignorance is bliss. What's going on in sports? Hey, sports is brought to us today by our friends at Frank's Red Hot. Frank's Red Hot. Get some! Jumped the gun a little early on that one. Hey, so if you're a Chargers fan, you're going to like this story because there is some dissension in the ranks in Denver in the quarterback position. Kyle Lorton has been named the starter, but Kyle Lorton has said everybody in Denver is in love with Tim Tebow. I mean, the whole city wants Tim Tebow to be their starter. Kyle Lorton said, Well, thank God the people don't make the decisions. That's really all I've got to say about it. Well, not really all you had to say because then you said, my last goal is to win over the fans. The last thing I'm worried about is winning over the fans. You're saying a lot there, aren't you, Kyle? It's gnarly in Denver right now, which is always good for Charger fans because you love to see that organization, you know, in the crapper where it belongs. I'm sorry, but Tim Tebow is one of those guys that I wish played on my team. I do. Jesus bit. Jesus bit. It's nothing. Wow. Okay. Tim loves Jesus. Mikey loves Jesus. Hence, Mikey loves Tim. See, I can't escape it. If anybody in the world is Christian, I happen to like him. That's what you guys point to, and that's not what it is. That's exactly it. Also, this is a crazy story here locally. San Diego State tight end Hunter Hewitt has pleaded guilty. You know what this guy did? What? He got hurt. He got some pain pills. And instead of taking them, he decided to sell them on...
Craigslist. And they caught this young man. And so now they have dismissed the felony charge, but he'll have a misdemeanor guilty plea. And, you know, he'll do some counseling and things like that. But just a dumb mistake by a kid. And yeah, not bright. You're not going to get away with selling Vicodin on Craigslist. Craigslist. Craigslist. Oh, boy. Really traceable. Yes. Extremely. 570-1949 is our number. By the way, today is... My son, Luke and Ryan's second birthday. Terrible twos. Here we come. My twin boys. They're two years old today. And it's pretty crazy, man. Time has gone by really fast. My son, Luke, is on the line right now. Hi, Luke. Hi. Hi. What are you doing? What am I doing? Yep. Well, you called me. Happy birthday, Luke. Happy birthday, buddy. I'm working. Thanks, Lauren. Thanks, Mike. It's not Mike, it's Dad. Well, first of all, thanks for leaving this morning without saying happy birthday. You were sleeping. You were sleeping on the floor of your bedroom. Yeah, I know. I don't like that bed. I know you don't. I hate it. Okay. I need a bigger bed. He crawls out of his bed, right? First of all, I don't crawl anywhere. Oh, sorry, sorry. It's his thing now, it's letting everyone know that he walks. Yeah, I haven't crawled in a while. Sorry, you climb out of your bed. Yeah.
I do a lot of climbing. I like to climb and I like to eat out of mommy. That's something that Jay says, Luke. You're just repeating it. We can hang. So what did you get me? I actually didn't get you anything. Weird. What did Rebecca get me? Rebecca's your mother. Right. What did she get me? To be honest with you, I don't. Oh, actually, I do know. She got you a Thomas the Train. Thomas the Tank Engine. I don't want that. What do you want? I want a trip. You want a trip? Yeah. Trip where? Vegas. A trip to Vegas. Yeah. I don't want you, Mike, or Rebecca to go with me. Nita. It's mom and dad. I'm Gary and Brad that works here. She can come. Your nanny? Your nanny. She's not my nanny, but she's a friend. She's not a friend. She's your nanny. She's a good friend and a lover.
You are a tiny child. You're only two. Today you're two. You need 19 more years. Allegedly. But you get a good choice. I want to go. But you have good choice. You have good choice. Good taste. Good taste choice. I want. Jay says, hey, Luke, Jay says you have good choice. Are you laughing, Luke? Nope. Hey, Luke, you're two. What does it mean when someone says he's got good choice? You ask that every time you call. It's the stupidest question in the world. You know what time I get off. I get off at 10. I'm hanging out. I know, but he's ridiculous. He's two today. Little angel. That guy is just...
Something else, isn't he? On one. He's on one today. Weird. It's his birthday. He has a good choice. He has a good choice. Oh, he likes a Hungarian girl? He's got good choice. Oh, my God. I say he's got good choice, man. Holy crap. It works for me. I know it does. But you're the only one. That's what makes it so brilliant. That's what makes it so great. You're the only person that it works for. He's got good choice. Ooh, look at that one. I'm going to adopt that. Hey, Luke, good choice, buddy. See, that works. It doesn't! No, if he said, hey, Luke, good choice, that works. Oh, right. But, hey, Luke, you have good choice, does not work. You got good choice in women. That's it. There you go. That's the choice you make. Oh, man, that got Luke real good. Luke might have snotted all over himself. Hey, is it...
Does anybody take umbrage with the fact that I don't believe that you should get presents for a two-year-old? Yes. What? Yeah, I don't think you should. Why? Because they don't know and care. Yes, they do. Two, I think they do, don't they? No, bro. Okay. I don't want us to argue about this, but here's my deal. Okay? They don't know. Yes, they do. No, they don't. Yes, they do. They don't remember, but they know. They don't remember who gave it to them, but they like new stuff. How much fun is it to open something? You like to open something. Guys, when you get older, you know it's your birthday. Okay, this is when you buy a kid a present. When they know it's their birthday. No. Yes. I have been buying my niece presents for every holiday since she was born. L.O.B. Yes. When is your niece's birthday? In March, she'll be two. Hang on. She'll be two in March. She's a year old right now. Between March and today, we're in August. Have you bought that little girl a present? Anything? Yes. Okay. And that's the deal. When little kids are little, they get stuff. Auntie Lauren's going to buy them stuff. Uncle Woods is going to buy them. Mommy and Daddy are going to get them toys.
And so when you're a little kid, you get stuff. What's the difference between that and the birthday? You know why? It's for the pictures. That is the only reason. That bit. It's for the pictures. I want to get her a big gift, and I can't justify just popping it, springing it on her. So I've already got an idea in mind for her second birthday, which is next March. Don't say it on the radio because she might hear you. I know. Kids love it. When you watch their faces as they tear the paper off, the present. It is the best. And they are so happy. And then they get it. They're like, okay, here's another present. You can't tell me that I'm good. And they have favorite toys and stuff. Jay sounds like my wife romanticizing. Right. Romanticizing. But reality versus the real deal. Right. I mean, that sounds so... I've watched my kids. I have four kids. I've watched all of them go through it. Mike, I'm a good dad, all right? That's what a good dad does. They rip them open. They know that there's paper on there that they're supposed to take off. I mean, sometimes it's hard, Mike, because my cape gets in the way while they're... Maybe put your clothes back on and go downstairs and watch them open the presents. True. That is true. It's true. Something you should do. Think about it, at least. Yeah. It's been 17 minutes, Mike. I haven't mentioned that you're fat.
17 full minutes have gone by on the clock. I haven't mentioned it. What I'm doing now, though, I'm talking about what a crap father you are. So I think that's always a good one, too. Well, fat was at 7. And at 7.17, so hit on Crap Dad. And then about 7.40, we'll hit on Crap Husband. Bad lover. Bad lover. Bad lover. Your hat. No, hat. 8.58, 8.15. 3, 2, 1, you're fat. Oops, broke the rule. Uh-oh. Jesus at 8.50, 8.40. We'll hit on that. 8.40. Trevor Hoffman's calling in today, though. That's right. 8.15 said, we'll have to wait on Bad Lover. We'll do Bad Lover 8.30. Trevor should be done. They're retiring his number. We got him on today. So, what are you going to do, man? What about fat injection in your forehead? What time is that going to hit? We already did that. Yesterday. Within the first 10 minutes of the show. I don't think we spent enough time on it. Tell you the truth. I'd like to bring it up. Yeah, I'd like to talk about the fact that Mike is so ugly. If you got to get fat injected into your head, you might be an ugly head. Dear diary. But fat. Dear diary. My boss is so ugly.
How ugly is he? I put in parentheses. How ugly is he? He is so ugly. That boy had to get injections in his forehead, take away the fat, and was actually happy about it. But I will take that joy right away from him. Dear diary, I walked in and I said... What happened to your ugly face? And he looked confused, per usual. I pretended that I hadn't been talking about it earlier. And so I said, gee, Mike, your eyes sure do look bright. By your eyes, I mean your forehead. Your fat head. By your eyes, I mean what the hell did you do to your face? You call it a five head. Well, you used to before you got fat put in it. Now you really are, fathead, fathead. I don't know why the hell the other crew couldn't handle you. You're the easiest target I've ever done messed with. Let's see, I've done touched on fat, short, Jesus, crappy dad, crap dad, bad love, crap dad, bad lover, Jesus. I just can't think anything else. How's your constipation? James constipated yesterday. Not me, man.
I never suffer from anything because I am the healthiest, most fit man there is. That's right. Unlike little Mexico. They do surgeries to replicate my insides. The stuff they put in your forehead was probably engineered from my butt. Because it's so tight. My abs. Firm. Rock hard. How does it look? Good. Freaking good, man. It looks good. I'm glad I did it. I think it made me look younger. Have you caught yourself staring at it a little more in the mirror? Uh-uh. Oh, I would. I don't remember what it used to look like. That's how I am with my hair now. Just look at it. That's called being vain. No, I just have never had long hair. You know, I was trying to think in my head. I was like, boy, there's something to that. Wait a minute. And then L.O.B. just hit it. She's like, oh. No, I've just never had it. I've never had a Julius Irving, Dr. J afro before. I do now. Yeah. Nobody believes me. It doesn't look like an afro. That's why they don't believe you. It looks like an afro. It looks like Brendan Fraser in like... Oh, boy. All right, let's listen to this NBC weatherman with a moth flying into his mouth. Or not. Or maybe we don't. Because my internet! Yeah. Yeah.
That was an overreaction. Yeah, it's great. It doesn't work out yet. Let's pick it up at 6 a.m. As usual, not a whole lot going on. I swear a moth just flew into my throat. I was going to swat it away, but I thought that would not be appropriate for TV. But I guess it's more appropriate. Until it's ready to play. Not sure when that is. This is what you call a major market. San Diego. So when you're on the radio here, you're the best. Best of the best. Think Dave Rickards ever has his audio stop playing like this? Who cares? I wouldn't know. I don't listen. Nor do I. Well, I'm listening right now. You have an earbud. I have an earbud. I just steal everything I hear. Yeah, fair enough. That's why I'm talking like this. Because I steal everything I hear. You're a thief. I'm a thief. Don't you know the Ten Commandments, Mikey? Don't you know the Ten Commandments?
Thou shalt not steal, buddy. What number is that, Mike? Yeah, which number is it? You should have it memorized by now. Jesus freak. Call you a JF. Isn't that right, a JF? Isn't that right, Mikey? Yeah, what did the big guy upstairs say about stealing, Mike? Stealing. Freaking thief. A little bit later on, I'll try to play you this clip of a weatherman choking on a moth. What do you suppose we can do about this, Jay? That's going to be a problem. We've got to restart what? Your computer. Oh, no. Really? Yeah. Every day. For sure. Yeah, you need to. I started it from scratch today. Clear your history. Clear your cache. Mine works perfectly. Is it cache or cache? I thought it was cache. Why don't we argue? Is it cache or cash? It's cache. Are you sure? Yes! Hey, don't yell at me because your computer sucks.
Maybe we should plug you straight in instead of being wireless. But then I can't... I have something good that we can do in the meantime. And it actually is really good. Woodsy gave it to me. And... How'd it feel? Gosh, Jay. I mean, when I'm already reeling. I mean, I'm falling back. I'm reeling already. He just pushed you off the cliff. He pushed me over the cliff. You were teetering. Where is my... On top. Is it the next thing on the schedule? Oh, yeah, yeah. It's at the bottom. That's why I didn't notice. Woodsy gave me this. It's adult truths. All right? Yes. Part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die. Yes. Your cachet. Yeah. I do not. I'm reading. I know. These are not my personal thoughts. Number two. Nothing sucks more than that moment.
During an argument when you realize that you're wrong. No question. I agree with that. I am adult enough now to come out in a minute. Are you? I would know about that one. Never wrong. What does wrong mean? Number three. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger. Number four. There's a great need for a sarcasm font. I agree with that. 100%. There is. Number five. How are you supposed to fold fitted sheets? It's a question I've had for millennia. It's impossible. Yeah. Can't be done. Can't be done. Moms can do it generally. Can they? They get it pretty flat. Yeah, I found a way. I'm not a mom, but I am a woman, so it's in my DNA to be able to fold clothes. Yeah, agreed. I've come pretty close. Yeah? Mm-hmm. To making it look good? Yeah. Number six.
What, what, what? I was laughing at my sexist joke. I was being passive-aggressive. Yeah, she was being passive-aggressive. Oh, I thought she meant that. No, she was being passive-aggressive. Oh, wow. What's the matter with you, people? I was joking. Sorry. Don't you know a joke when you hear one? Didn't realize. There's more. We'll give you more. But, but, a very, very famous person just compared themselves to Hitler, and they are taking a lot of heat for it. Tell you who it is and play the audio of them saying it next. Good morning to you. This is Bird from Bird Surf Shed with the FM 94.9 Authentic Surf Report update for a Tuesday morning. This is, of course, being brought to you by Frostbrew Coors Light. It's how San Diego breaks. Coors Brewing Company, Golden, Colorado. San Diego is smaller today on the way it breaks as that west-northwest windswell is all but tapered off, leaving us basically with the remains of a south-southwest swell direction. That means the inconsistent smaller waves running in that ankle, knee, waist-high range on average, maybe a few chest-high waves at standout spots. Occasional pluses on that at the far north county spots like Ponto, Oceanside, or so forth. Other than that, though, pretty weak and somewhat bleak. Higher tides this morning are going to back down a lot of spots as well. Longer board waves or maybe wide-body fishes, round, eggy types of boards might copy a few waves at the beach breaks. Reef breaks are all but shut down right now.
Overcast skies, light and variable winds, clean conditions, water temps slowly warming up. Still in the lower to mid 60s, 62, 64 degree range though. But that should warm up as the wind swell has backed off and the new south-southwest pretty swell pulses that will slowly fill in, push that warmer water back up. Right now this morning, kind of weak and bleak. For up to the minute surf reports forecast, go to surfline.com. And for surfboard repair restoration needs, you'll see Joe Roper. The Authentic Surf Report can only be heard three times daily right here on FM 94.9. This has been the FM 94.9 Authentic Surf Report. Back to the Mikey Show. Come on. With Mikey Mikey. I'm not good at pretending to be Guy in Schwoz. But I'm super gullible. Lauren. I have a crazy suggestion. Maybe you like somebody for their insight. I'm going to open my beer right as we start. Internet's working. Got it all going. Happy birthday. Want to hear that dude now? Well, take me. Forget it. Forget it. I've had it. Yeah. Sign that you shouldn't play it. Word of the day. All right. So here's the weather map. Let's pick it up. Are you kidding me? My God. Are you kidding? Maybe it's one of those days. Yeah. All right. I'm going to play it.
All right, so here's the weather map. Let's pick it up at 6 a.m. As usual, not a whole lot going on. But I swear a moth just flew into my throat. I was going to swat it away, but I thought, oh, that would not be appropriate for TV. But I guess it's more appropriate to swallow it. We get into the afternoon, and as you can see, there's a lot more green south of the triangle and southeast. So we will continue. Now, don't bring me any water because it's already down my gullet. You know, a moth is pretty disgusting, right? There's other things that you could swallow insect-wise that wouldn't be as bad. Moths are hideous. I'm going to tell you one that's going to get you. It's going to get you good. My sister-in-law, Joanne, she's afraid of bugs, okay? She's got a real bad fear of bugs, particularly cockroaches. She was a child. Her mom sent her out to the backyard to the shed to get something. She opened up the shed, and these cockroaches were disturbed. They began to fly. When they flew, they flew into her hair, which was very long. And as much as she swatted, which only made them angry, she couldn't seem to get them all out.
When she thought that she'd gotten them all up, always one left. He retrieved all the roaches from the hair. Yeah. Stop it. Just continue to fly, fly, fly. Flutter away with her wings. Gone into his coffin. I don't blame you. It'll get you. Don't like roaches. I told you the story about Natalie Merchant singing on stage and the cockroach flew right into her mouth. She's like... Did she stay on stage? She did. She walked up to, she spit it out. She goes, oh my gosh, you have flying cockroaches here. But she stayed on stage. And she grabbed a bottle of water from the listener, or the listener, or somebody in the audience, and drank it, washed her mouth out. Continued. Went right on. Continued on. I mean, she's a trooper. I mean, she gets up there and does a good show. She will not quit. She won't quit. No matter what. Now, this is a woman you're talking about? This is a woman. Where's she been? Natalie Merchant? Yeah.
It's like when Cindy Lauper hit a high note and got a bird poop in her mouth. Yeah. She went on. She just stayed on because that's what performers do. I know what you guys are doing. I know what you guys are doing. What do you mean? What do you mean? I don't understand. What's the problem? You know what's up. What, Woods? What? What? Don't play coy with me. I don't like coy. Okay? I don't like coy at all. What? Do you guys know why Woods is freaking out right now? I don't know. He's freaking out. No idea. Don't play coy. Very defensive. Don't play coy with you. Why are you so defensive? I know what you're doing. Right. You're making fun of one of my favorite bands. Oh, that's... You're talking about the Kings of Leon. Yes. Oh, you mean the quitters? Quitter. Somebody... A few people have called them Queens of Leon because they... That's a good one. They had pigeons poop on them and they left state. That's a funny joke, Sinbad. Well, here's the deal. Woodsy's right. It was a lot of birds that were doing it. Pigeons. Pigeons. It was at least three. Yeah, 300. Angry pigeons. So... Who wouldn't leave the stage? Plus, since then, they have a sterling record of staying on stage and performing. Until? Never throw a fit. Until last week. What? Again? Shut up. Wait a minute. My niece has got tickets to see them in September in Phoenix. She won't be seeing them. And you know she won't be seeing them. What? What? You know that. You're playing coy. What? What do you mean? Don't be coy with me. They've canceled their North American tour. Oh my gosh. Something bad must have happened. Yes. One of them must have...
been in some sort of accident well he's he's an alcoholic mike who is caleb followell he's the lead singer yeah now wait he has alcohol issues are you sure yes in the past he has right i mean i wouldn't want to make fun of the afflicted you know in the past he has no all well always yeah he's got the disease he's got his dad had it oh he's got it i didn't know that is that true yeah it is true His dad was an alcoholic. No, his dad was. But does he have a history of going in and out of rehab? No, this will be his first. Because I do. I've been to rehab. This will be his first. And they're trying to get him in right now. So he doesn't, in fact, have a history of being known for being in rehab. He has a history of hard partying and a lot of alcohol. Well, a lot of us do. A lot of us do. But that doesn't necessarily make us. have a history of being in and out of rehabs. No, I didn't say he had a history of being in and out. Well, you did. I said he has a history of being an alcoholic. You said he's an alcoholic. Right, he is. Just because you go to rehab, that doesn't make you an alcoholic. I know a lot of alcoholics have never went to rehab. How do we know he's an alcoholic? Because he's clearly jacked up. He is now. His sex is on fire. I know that for sure. That is the truth. Yeah. That was a good one, Gallagher. You smashing watermelons out there, writing jokes? What happened? Well, I was at the show.
Where the meltdown happened. And he had a lot to drink. And it was real, real hot. And you don't drink tequila outside in Dallas if it's 108 degrees. You just don't. And they played about 11 songs. And he had told us around the fourth or fifth song. He said, listen, my voice is shot. I got nothing. I don't know what I'm going to do. I need your help singing these songs. So we helped him out. We sang along to all the tunes, and they got to the 11th song, and they played it. And after, he takes his guitar off, and it's plugged in. So he lays it down on the stage, and it falls. It goes, you know? He walks up to the mic. He goes, hey, listen, Dallas. And he's drunk. I mean, you can tell he's drunk. You'd seen him drinking beer. We saw him doing tequila shots. Walks up to the mic. Dallas, listen. My voice is gone, but I want to say that I married the most beautiful girl in the world. And you guys are the best effing audience that I've ever seen. And 15 people at that point are like, yeah. Because we know what's up. He walks up to the mic. He's on the mic and he's like, listen, I'm going to go backstage. I'm going to vomit. I'm going to drink me a beer.
and i'm gonna come out i'm gonna play three more songs oh gosh and we're like and i'm looking i'm like all right there are 11 songs and i've seen them six times they're a 25 song a night band period they're two hours 25 songs they rip through it they're dynamite live they're convivial with the audience he's always convivial wow what is that uh friendly like uh engaging could you just said that oh no no no he's always very like He's always interacting. He's talking to the audience. And, man, he took the mic, threw the mic stand down. And we are sitting there. I'm with my brother, my wife, and her friend. And I'm looking at one of my favorites, Caleb Falwell. Throw that mic stand down. Then he goes over to the other mic, his brother Jared's mic. And here's his bit. I don't know what that is. What is it? He's talking. The mic's not on. Yeah. And we're sitting there watching. And we're like. I'm in my head going, the mic's not on, the mic's not on, the mic's not on, the mic's not on, the mic's not on. Then he takes that one. Throws that mic down. They walk off stage. We are stunned. Stunned. Stunned. We're like, what the hell's going on? 15,000 people. More. More. So we go, have a beer, smoke, come back. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. 35 minutes. 40 minutes go by. Lights come on.
Out walks Nathan, the drummer, and his brother. Nathan is his brother. And Jared, also a brother, walks out. The bass player. They go, Dallas, we are so sorry. Caleb is unable to go on. And we don't know. We don't have the words to say how sorry we are. And we apologize. Don't hate us. Effing hate Caleb. Oh, wow. See you later. And they walk off the stage. It doesn't sound very convivial. Well, they don't really talk. They're not going to win Mr. Conviviality. Not at all. It's the lead singer that usually is just normal and great. And, dude, they walked off. So later, I was fascinated. Texted Mike, told him the whole deal. Then looked at the tweets. And they were like, listen, we know you guys aren't stupid. We know that you know it's not from exhaustion. We have very big problems in this band. go further than not drinking enough Gatorade. We're not breaking up, but we are canceled. They're canceling the tour. They're trying to get him into rehab right now. He is a mess. He's a mess. They said blame him? Yeah, they go, don't hate us, effing hate Caleb. See ya. Now, in all seriousness, I'm being completely serious. I'm not making a joke. When the turd from the birds happened, was it Caleb's idea to leave? No, it was Jared, the bass player. Because he got it.
Like, on his face. And he's like, I'm done. But here's, you know, my thing is, I love that band. They mean a lot to me. But you don't do that. You don't do that. I mean, you figure it out and you stick through it. And they were 11 songs in. So, you know, 11 more, 10 more, whatever. You can fake your way. You can get eight more songs in and walk. And people would have been happy. But I was reading some comments. And people were like, listen, dude. We drove 400 miles to see you. We spent $500 for VIP tickets. We spent $18 a beer, and you gave us 11 songs. It's weak. What they did do, they gave us all our money back. We got all of our money back, which is pretty rad. They just refunded your credit card? Yeah, they refunded their credit card. So we got all our money back. Everybody that bought tickets will get their money back, which is great, but people would rather see the band. That's why you bought the tickets. It was a bummer. I'm sad for those guys. Were you about to say that people are going to sue them? Yeah, they're about to be sued. Probably by the venue. By venues. I think they said $15 million, roughly. It could cost this band. Because this guy just can't control his booze. They have been on the road. $15 million? These guys have been on the road for three years straight. And I mean straight. They've done probably...
Probably 600, 700 shows in three years. I mean, I'm not kidding. That is a lot. I think they're just fried, especially him. Couldn't they just put a babysitter with him to keep an eye on him? Yeah, you know, they could. And I don't think they knew it was going to, you know, they knew he had problems, but I don't think they knew it was going to get this bad where he'd never missed a performance. And there's a lot of bands that have done this. You never want to hear about it, especially if it's a substance abuse deal. Well, and the thing is, is that, you know, take it from an alcoholic. He had to have started that day pretty early. Right. And get to the point where he couldn't continue. What time did that happen? The show started. They came on stage. What time did he walk? 10, 15, 1030. And I had to have started it like. in the afternoon it's interesting that you mentioned that because i was listening to a local station home that i love and one of their guys was there he called in on saturday to report about it and he goes i have friends that work at this place jackson energy center he goes they said he was guy was boozing all day long yeah all day when you sober up from it from a night like that mikey do you like immediately have all that guilt
I mean, you know you just cost. Oh, yeah. So isn't that the time where you go, okay, look, I know I have a problem. And don't you, can't you immediately start working on it, though? It's not that easy. It's denial. But you can't deny that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's a big mess. No, his, oh, I'm sorry. His deal is just his, what he said is, I'm exhausted and my frigging throat hurts. That's my deal. I'm not an alcoholic. I'm tired and my throat hurts. I need a break. Man, but you know in your head. Uh-uh. You don't? No, because you're sick. You're sick and you, you're. your illness will hide it at any cost. Even lying to yourself. Because you want to protect it. You want to protect it. You don't want to stop. No. They have this lifestyle that they're accustomed to. Traveling around and drinking. They're Southern boys. That's what they do. They love watching football and drinking beer and playing horseshoes. Dude, it's going to...
I hope for the best for those guys because I love them. They're a convivial band. I mean, there's no doubt about it. They were voted most convivial in 2011. In high school. Three years in a row. Most likely to be convivial. Most likely to be convivial every day. Well, Woodsy, I mean, when you are going to throw a word like convivial at us, you know that there's going to be a little... pushback on Convivio because it's a great word. It is a dynamite word. It's a dynamite word. It's just not used that often. Maybe in your circles. In my circles it is. Really? How dare you? Kings of Leon circles. You're getting a wheel of pain for that one. You ready? Yeah, let's go, Jay. Come in here. Here's how wheel of pain works. Come on, Jay. Don't delay. Here's how Wheel of Pain works. We have an actual wheel. Of pain. Of pain. Let's put it over here. Okay. And, oh, wow. Woods just had it. Not so convivial now, are you? I'm not feeling very convivial. You've never been convivial. You've never been. Here are the things on the Wheel of Pain. Three drops of hot sauce to the tongue. That one will affect Woods. Yep. Three bag tag shots. That'll affect both guys real bad because they'll both give it to each other.
Dodgeball hits. Weak, but they... No. Oh, you got smaller ones. We got real balls. Oh, those are deadly. Those other ones hurt like crap. Really? Yes. Those are going to hurt worse because they're smaller now. Oh, I know. Man, the shirt shimmy is working. I'm about to do it myself. Yeah. Three days with black fingernail polish on. That's weak. Lame. Stupid. Take it off. Do something else. You've got to walk around with that. Yeah, you've got to walk around with that. You already said you didn't want to do it. No, you've got to do it, Woods. You've got to do it. We should put Fryer's cut on there. Oh, my God. Forget it, L-O-B-L. I'll murder you. Keep the nail polish. Shut your mouth. Three hippity hop hits, which is those big, giant hippity hops that you bounce on to the back. And then the new thing that we've added. Oh, I forgot. Three shots from a BB gun. And the new thing we've added is a duct taped wax job to the chest. Oh, and three shocks from the dog collar, which we want to come up so bad in a house. No, we don't. No, we don't. You're a sadist. You're a sadist. Yes. Okay, you ready? Who starts this time? I think... Oh, maybe it's you, Woods. Can you keep score, L-O-B? Uh-huh. I'm going to give them a band name. They have to tell me if it's real or fake. Woods, The Anchored Chefs. Fake. It is fake. Jay, The String Cheese Incident. It's real.
Damn it, Mikey. Everybody knows that band. Real, real. They do? Yeah. I'm sorry. That's a hippie band. Jam band. Damn it. Woods? Sorry. He's like... Two Tailored Toys. That's real. Damn it. I made it up. Two Tailored Toys. Jay. Jay. Grateful Dead. Jay. The Stone Temple Pie... Ooh, that's a rough one. Amish Ambush. That is real. Dang it. I made it up. It sounded so made up that it had to be real. I know. Don't get inside your own head. You just got to go with your gut. Woods. Yes. The honored quail. That's real. Damn it. I made it up. I thought he was for sure on that. The honored quail. The Amish incident. Clown. Jay, best coast. Real.
Oh boy, Jason Bleed. That's real. Of course it is. Woods Frozen Plasma. We're fake. It's real. It's a real band. You give him Best Coast and String Cheese Incident. All right. Well, wait a minute. Did you know that Best Coast is a real band? Oh, yeah. I've played them on Bumper. We play them on the station. Best Coast? Yes. Sorry. Yeah, Mike, maybe I fire you. And then hire you again. Who's up? It's me. J, the Von Bondys. It's real. Of course it is. You're kidding me right now. You're doing a bit with me. You must be. No, but I'm going to stop doing this because I thought that these were bands that were... The Von Bondys, Jack White beat the crap out of their lead singer. I'm sorry. I'm dead. I'm sorry. J's up. Can we try... I have eight more. Can we do them? Yeah, we just keep going. I'll need one more. Keep going. I can come back.
I can come back. I can come back. I can come back. All right. It's Woods. It's me. Woods? Yeah. Ear full of wine. It's fake. Oh. It's fake. I made it up. Oh, my God. J. This could be it right here. Ref the party. Yeah, I got three right already, Woods. So this would be my fourth. Ref the party is fake. I'm a winner winner. Wow. 4-2 over the kids. Jay Led Zeppelin. I have more. I lost. He lost. Luck of the draw. Portugal the man. Okay, I'll make sure next time that they're super crazy. But I'm still not going to, because I thought those were super crazy. Nope. Spin that wheel of pain. Maybe you can run them by me next time. Okay. I'll double check. That's a good idea.
Well, would you double check? You know, I mean, the real ones I thought were fake sounding. Right. I'll see the ones that are glaringly real. Okay. Woods, in the meantime, you get to benefit from my stupidity. Yes. Are you ready? Yes, I'm more than ready. Spinning the wheel of pain. Come on, pain. Three drops of hot sauce. Yeah. Oh, Woods is doing a thing like a who cares? Who cares? All right. Oh, my gosh. Here we go. Aren't you? It's on the wheel, man. I did it. You can do it. What do you mean you can't? Ghost pepper? You got it. I did it last time. One drop. No, I'll do the three. No, not three. Yeah, I'll do the three. No, not three. AJ, he's saying he can't do it. He's saying that it'll, like, will it make it throw up? I don't know. You know that Frank's red hot to me. Yeah, okay, that's it. That's it. No, I'll do the three. I'll do the three. Some guy called me a puss yesterday. I don't want to be a puss. No, but Woods, like, you got to tell me what's going to happen. I don't know.
That's three. Well, and that's the thing. I don't want to do it. Let's do something. Have something ready. Wait. Wait, wait, wait. Why don't we do Tabasco? Because to him, that's just as hot. No? I've got another thing. How about we don't do that? What if he gets two other spins? We just take that off. Are you willing to do that? Two other spins of something else? Does that make me a puss? No. No, you're doing two painful things. Because you get to decide. You can either do two other painful bits. Two other things. That's your choice. Two other things, or you eat the hot sauce. Woods, that's going to get you. It gets me. It gets me. I'll probably go to a party after. Two other spins. He threw away the cracker. He threw away the cracker. Two spins, two spins, and we've got... Three bag tag shots. Okay, we need to break, so maybe we punish him when we get back. When we come back... Do you want to spin right now? Let's spin right now and see what else you're going to do besides the bag tag. Done. So Woods already has three bag tag shots plus the dodgeball hit. The dodgeball hit. That's a good trade. Lots of balls. Lots of balls. So you get a dodgeball hit and three bag tags next. Mikey Show coming up in minutes. Oh, stop it.

Oh, you got to be kidding me. You got to be kidding. Oh, wow. It is one of those days. Let me go. A judge in Sacramento just approved the payment of $232,000 to the victims of survivors of Ted Kaczynski. Wow. The Unabomber. Court ordered auction of some of his stuff. And they took the money and they gave it to his victims. Good. Yeah. I think that's pretty cool. Jay was in on some of that stuff. You heard Jay was in? No, remember he said he was interested. Oh, he's going to buy some? He was looking at it. Yeah, sounded good. There you go. Switchfoot, big winners at the San Diego Music Awards. Nice. Monday night, yeah. Congratulations to those guys. They won a bunch of different awards, but Silent Comedy won Best Pop. How about that? Pop? Oh.
All right, are you ready, Woodsy? Yeah. What do you got going on in sports? Well, Joe Paterno is 84 years old. He is still the head coach of Penn State University. Maybe he takes it to Sizzler for the early bird because he was taking notes on the sideline the other day, and one of his players ran into him. He fell down. Oh, gosh. He has a cracked pelvis. Oh, no. Maybe you take it to the house. Yeah, you're 84, and it's time. We get it. You're a legend, but you get it. Also, this is pretty. Insane. Real Madrid is a soccer team out of Spain. Mikey's favorite. And they have now signed. Brace yourself. A seven-year-old. They signed a seven-year-old named Lionel. Oh, I'm sorry. Named Leo. And he is. They're going to wait until he develops and put him on the team. He's seven years old. And they signed him. Beast. You can sign a seven-year-old. Apparently. In Spain. In Spain. Yes. Mike. Mike. That's the. oddest story. Isn't that nuts? Yeah, they signed this kid. It's a symphony of wrong. There are so many things that are wrong in that. Okay, are you ready? I'm ready. Oh, by the way, yesterday we had a guy call and say that his girlfriend takes lunch at the UTC food court every day. And he surprised her and called her up and said he was going to do the whole bit where he's like, what are you doing?
Nothing. Look to your left. And he'd be standing there. Creepy. And so he's looking at her sitting with, well, he didn't know because he turned the corner and saw, he said. But he's talking to her and he says, what are you doing? She goes, oh, I'm looking like a dork because I'm eating lunch by myself. He turns the corner at UTC at the food court. And there she is having lunch with a guy. And he proceeds to watch for 40 minutes. Sketchy, crazy, all around. Yeah. So anyway, we're going to try to call her. 570-1949 is our number. And on the line with me right now, M1 Francisco from San Marcos. What was the word of the day? Symphony. That is correct. You, my friend, are going to see Chargers and Seahawks on Thursday night. Hang on the line. That was the word of the day. Nice work. All right. By the way, Trevor Hoffman on the show any minute. The way that this works is that we have a ball and it gets one bounce. The ball weighs at least a pound and a half. And Jay gets one bounce and then into Woods' crotch. He gets three shots at it. Steve Woods. That's you. Okay, here we go. There was one. One right to the right.
Or lefty. No, that was straight up. Oh, straight up. Yep. Oh! Oh, that was to the right. That was to the right. That hurt. Here comes that creep. Here comes the third one. Third one. Third one. Oh! Same spot. Same spot. Same spot. Same spot. Oh, gosh. Oh, that's my right. Oh, yeah. You got it in your belly. You feeling it in your belly? Oh, yeah. It's creeping. Creeping. And then the other thing that you got to take is the dodgeball hit. Chris, I'm going to need your help to roof me. And we're filming it, so you'll see it. We'll put it on our Facebook page. Oh, gosh. Oh, he's got on, like, eye protection. He's got on a whole face. Oh, he missed. Jay missed. Woods just gave a victory. Oh, almost. Oh, did it get you? Oh, my God. Oh, wow. Oh, wow.
Oh, wow. Those balls. We got smaller dodgeballs. Oh, look at that. Holy cow. Is it red? Oh, yeah. There's a big, giant spot on his back. That's a lot of work for Chris. Oh, boy. Don't you join in, too. Anybody else see the ceiling panel? Yeah, he broke the ceiling panel. Did you? You did? I'll build another one. Shut up. Rick R. Jackson's going to freak out. We have a burn mark on the ceiling in here from his science experiment. That SOB hurts. My arm hurts. His arm hurts. Three tries. I'm not trying to be the best at throwing. I'm just trying to make it hurt. 570-1949. Hey, by the way, we are doing Mikey's show live.

Just go to MikeyShow.com. You can sign up. And as long as you got the day off and you're willing, you can come in here. Here's some other truths. MapQuest really needs to start their directions on number five. The reason? I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood. Okay? It's true. That's good. The first five directions are telling you how to get out of your driveway. How to get out of your own neighborhood. That's a good one. Next, it says obituary. These are truths for adults. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died. Agreed. I always do a little investigating and try to see. charity that they left it to. If they said donations to be made to the suicide hotline or whatever. I always want to know. Or search for a news article maybe. Always. Another truth of being an adult. Can't remember the last time. I didn't write these. Not this is bad. Not this next one is bad. I'm reading them. I saw them. Woodsy gave them to me. They're great. Can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired. Woods.
100%. Absolutely. 100%. If you're an adult, especially now, especially living in San Diego where you've got to work your butt off to be able to afford to live here, you probably can't remember the last time you weren't at least kind of tired. Unless you were on crystal meth. Right. Unless you have my diet. And my DNA. Right. Unless you poop regularly like I do. Plenty of vitamins. All bound up like Mike, I'm sure. You don't have problems. Number 10, bad decisions make good stories. Well, that's been true since the beginning of time. Cavemen would make bad decisions and grunt to each other what they did, and it's a great story. Or they would draw it on the wall. Or they'd draw it on the wall, the bad decisions. That was my favorite one. Bad decisions make great stories. Since the beginning of time. No question. Number 11, you never know when it'll strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know you're not going to do anything productive the rest of the day. And that is a true story. Oh, yeah, dude. That is a true story. This is probably Trevor Hoffman. Yeah. This guy is a legend in San Diego. He's a legend everywhere, man. Legend in Major League Baseball. A absolute Hall of Famer. Yep. And Woods, quickly, how did you, tell everybody about your, how did you come to know Trevor? I did a MC thing.
I emceed the Nativity School Gala, and Trevor was there, and his wife was running it, so I worked with her and helped auction some stuff off, got to meet him, talk to him. Awesome guy. Yeah. On the line with us right now, Trevor Hoffman. Are you there, Trevor? I'm here. Good morning, fellas. Good morning, man. Good to have you on. Yes. They're going to be retiring your number, Trevor. It's an amazing honor, isn't it? Yeah, man. 601 saves. I mean, just absolutely amazing. And they're going to be retiring your number, 51, on Sunday, August 21st, before the game. Yeah, before the game with the Marlins. Do you remember, Trevor, your very first game as a major leaguer?
about three days to get into the ball game in South Florida. The last guy to get used out of the pen, but you don't forget your Major League debuts. I might have forgotten everything else in between, but the first and last one you definitely can remember, but pretty special. It's going to be an awesome day on the 21st. Get an opportunity to thank the fans here in San Diego for really all the support they gave me for 16 years, man. It was a special place to come in and pitch, and it's going to be fun on Sunday. Do you ever just, are you ever listening to the radio and you hear Hell's Bells come on? Does it happen? Does it happen and you're like, you know what? I got to get out there. I got to throw something through a wall. No, I got to roll out the window so nobody hears me driving around. Exactly. Just have it on loop. Just have it on loop. Hey, Trevor, do you dream about the game? You know what? I'm kind of a fan now. I enjoy watching the guys play now. I enjoy watching from this side of it, not having the anxiety part of trying to get ready and who you're going to face and what are you going to do? What are you going to trick them with to try and get them out? Right. It was more nightmares before and now it's probably dreams. And that's what I was thinking. Like when you played the game, did you dream about the game when you played? Well, I think as anything, you can always second guess yourself. And so when things didn't go good, you kind of dreamt about, well.
Maybe I should have tried something different, or maybe I should have thought about a different pitch with a particular guy. When things go well, you kind of don't think about it. I picked that thing great. You just kind of know it worked out the way it did. When you play every day and you play as many games as the guys do, you just prepare, and you get lost in that routine, and you don't try and overanalyze things. You know that you can be successful with the... The work you put in and the thought process that you've had before, that work, you just trust it and you get lost in that routine. Talking to Trevor Hoffman, whose number is going to be retired on August 21st here in San Diego. Number 51 will be forever remembered here in San Diego, Trevor Hoffman's number. Trevor, who's the toughest batter you've ever faced, toughest hitter you've ever faced? You know... All big leaguers, when they step in that box, can hurt you, that's for sure. I've been asked that question a lot, and Todd Helton's name just keeps popping up. He was a guy that was able to make adjustments pitch to pitch. He's still a disciplined hitter. He still has a really good feel for where the strike zone is and never really off balance. I can never get him off balance between the fastball and the changeup. So he was a guy that was kind of always a thorn in my side.
If you talk about nightmares, I make sure I don't watch many Rocky games for a number of reasons, but he's definitely one of them. Yeah. Woodsy, do you remember watching him? Oh, yeah, man. I've watched Trevor for a long time, and just the changeup that Trevor hopping through. I coached Little League this year, and I was trying to teach my kids. all of them had to throw a changeup. They all want to throw sliders. They all want to throw curveballs. You know that, Trevor. Hey, coach, watch this. I got a split finger. I'm like, you don't have a split finger. You're 12. What you need to learn is you need to learn a good fastball, two seam, four seam, and you need to learn a changeup. And that's all you need until you're 18 to 20 years old, period. I mean, Trevor Hoffman can get 601 saves with a filthy changeup and a filthy fastball. That's all you need, pal. Yeah. By the way, hey, Trevor, I want to mention the perfect game All-American Classic, Sunday, August 14th at Petco. You're the honorary chairman of that. Yeah, you know, it used to be called the Affleck Games. It's, you know, all the really top juniors in high school will converge on San Diego from all around the country. It's called the perfect game now. It's held at Petco. They get in town Thursday, I think, and then they do.
A couple events. They're going to do a Rady's children's visit, and they're going to go see the Marines out at Miramar. Festivities and a banquet on Saturday with a workout at USD, and then the game on Sunday is the 14th, I believe. Yeah. Backtrack seven days from the 21st, I think. I think kids will be stoked to be in that with Trevor. Incredible. Hall of Famer. Trevor Hoffman. Okay, so Trevor, I'm going to get under the hood here and talk about baseball. And I want to try to dissect this. Now, one of your best pitches was the change-up, correct? Okay, yep. If not the best, the change-up. Now, the change-up, for people that don't know, the change-up looks like it's coming in one speed. No? No. But it's actually coming. Your arm? And your motion looks the same. And your arm comes through at the same speed as when you throw your fastball. Your arm. Right. The ball comes out about 15 miles an hour slower. Right. And you are just, you're off balance. So it looks like it's coming at one speed, but it's actually going much slower. Right. And that was a really, that was, Trevor, that was your, would you say it's your best pitch or one of? You guys got it down. You know, the best pitch is always strike one. Doesn't matter what. Absolutely. But this is what. You guys got it down. You guys got it down. You're pitching coaches too.
There you go. But, okay, this is what I want to know about this pitch, though, Trevor. Because I know you were known for that pitch, correct? Yep. Okay. Did you say to yourself when you were young, I am going to figure this particular pitch out? Or did you just have a freakish ability with that particular pitch, and you figured it out when you were young, and you went, S-O-B. I can throw this thing really, really well. How did that pitch come to you? It's kind of twofold, actually. It was a situation where I spoke with some teammates about how their grip was with a change-up and kind of morphed into a palm ball that I used throughout my career. But also, playing in the backyard, trying to figure out how to get your older brothers out and trying to come up with this trick pitch. You learn to throw a ball with that same arm speed and that same fastball delivery and make sure it doesn't come out as hard. It's kind of the only way I was able to get my brothers out.
So I think if you combine the two, you took what you learned as a kid in the backyard and apply it to some of the information you get from your teammates, and all of a sudden it morphed into a pretty decent changeup. Trevor, could you teach that to somebody, do you think? Like, you know, could you tell your son, all right, look, I can teach you how to throw a changeup if you do what I tell you. I can show the exact grip that I use. I can show them how my arm comes through like a fastball. I think it was unique to my arm slot. I think it was unique to my hand and the way the ball sat in it. I constantly am showing kids in Little League, travel ball, Padres organization. And the concept is kind of weird for the guys at first because they're always trying to propel the ball. They're always trying to make it come out of their hand with velocity. And when I choke the ball, it's kind of a slip pitch. And so for them to kind of get that grasp is a little different.
But it's something that we talk about. It's something that is hard for an older player to try and learn because they're kind of learning on the job and they're trying to make it happen when they're out on the field. So there's not a lot of opportunity for them to learn as they go. I think I know the answer to this next question, but I'm going to ask it anyway, and this is what we'll wrap up with. What do you miss most about the game? You know, people talk about it. The competition, I think that that was one facet that I knew when I left the game, you're not going to be able to recreate. So I kind of got over the fact that I wasn't going to be able to find something that was going to fuel that fire. But being a teammate is a huge deal to me. I enjoy going to the field every day. I enjoy listening to guys' experiences throughout the day and the banter that would go on and on. It's a sanctuary in that clubhouse that once you leave it.
Regardless if you come in as a visitor or a former player or manager, you're not one of the 25 that are suiting up and you get to go out and play in between the lines. You're part of a team when you're that, but the teammate aspect and the camaraderie that's a part of it is something that I've missed. Yeah, that's what I thought you would say. You've heard a lot of players say that. It's hanging out with the guys, that kind of thing. And I guess I lied because I do have one last question. Is it true that you controlled the music on the plane? When you guys would fly places, you were the guy that would pick what you guys listened to. It took a while to work my way to the back of the plane, just like it takes a while to work your way to the front of the bus when you're driving around in the cities. Right. I made it to the back, and I always was conscious of Guy's concerning taste of music. That's awesome. It would be well-rounded.
I always tried to kind of, if a guy had a good game, I'd make sure that we played a few songs for him to get him riled up. That's awesome. One of the things that was kind of fun in the back was we'd have the dueling iPods. You'd kind of come back there and you'd say, I want to be a part. You'd throw a song on there and they'd vote you like Caesar. He'd get a thumbs down and a thumbs up. That's great. Yeah. It was pretty fun. I love that. Trevor Hoffman. Hey, man, you're a lot of fun. Thank you, Trevor. We appreciate it. And don't forget. August 21st, they're retiring his number at the game. And that's going to be a special night for you, Trev. Special night. Special for all the San Diego fans, man. I can't thank them enough for all the support. It's going to be great. That's so cool. Hey, did we miss anything, Trevor? Should we get any? Is there anything? If you want to let anybody know about anything else, we can put it out there. You know what? We talked a little bit about the instruction, learning how to throw a change up. I do have an iTunes app out there that instructional video for kids that they want to try and figure out how to pitch. Download it. You'll have it in the archives forever. It's a pretty good gig. Get it in the game. It's called .com. They brought in a lot of guys. Joe Montana is the world. Barry Sanders is the world. That's rad. It's incredible. It's pretty cool. It's pretty cool. Spent about four or five hours at Petco breaking down some instructional video.
I'll be watching that. It's an app. It's an app called Get In The Game. Yep. That's great. All right, Trev. Hey, thank you, man. We appreciate it. Fellas, thanks for letting me plug that stuff. Look forward to seeing folks out there on the 21st. You got it, man. It's Trevor Hoffman. Thank you, Trevor. Go to Padres.com slash Trevor to get your tickets. What do guys think about drinking, cars, status, crying, punching their boss in the face? These are real questions that were asked to real guys. And I have the answers. I'm Stacey Cohen, FM. 94.9. Good morning. And now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. Don't really like to swim. Unlike most Latinos. Woods. I can put down a 20 pack of chicken nuggets. No problem. Lauren. I got a little pepper up my nose. Had to sneeze. And Jake. No, I didn't cry. I'm a man. On FM 94.9. Woodsy was telling me one of the greatest older guy moves is air sacks. Making a comeback, too. Oh, yeah. It's a big dad player. Oh, yeah. Big player with dads. Air sacks. Oh, yeah. You got to be a badass to pull it off, you know, like you're just... Or a giant dork. A doofus. Well, you just wonder, you know, you're like, so when you decided to do that air guitar at the bowling alley, did you think that the women were going to go, ooh? If you were black, you could pull it off. Yeah, well, you could pull...
anything off. I think only Clarence Clemens could have pulled off the air sacs. Nobody can. Smooth old black man could do it. Wow. Pull anything off. Isolate that. Like your shirt. Or Pants. Oh wow. No. These are the jokes. Just jokes baby. What percentage of men do you think care about what you think about their car? I will guess 70%. It's actually less. Wow. 54% of guys care what you think about their car. You do. Of course. I don't. Yeah, I mean, I have to be honest. Okay? Pull it back. I'm going to pull the curtain back. I care about a lot of things. I'm being dishonest if I say,
I care what you think about my car. If you like my car, I think that's cool. Sure. But it's more about what I think about my car. That's a good point. And I really feel that way. Now, if you like my car, that's great. But it's more about what I think about my car. On that one. Now, I'll tell you that what you think about my nose is a different story. Like somebody that pointed out on the internet. today that my nose looks big and my sunglasses. Very sweet. It's not my sunglasses that makes my nose look big. It's my nose that makes my nose look big. But that I would care about. The car, if you like it, that's great. But if you don't like it, well, that's a matter of preference. You know what I mean? It's a matter of preference. Unless you have a clunker and then you do care that people... No, you have a clunker. I've always, most of my life had clunkers. And what are you going to do? You know, what are you going to do? You strive to get out of the clunker. Yeah. What percentage of guys get manis and pedis? I hope it's low. Fifteen. Seven. Seven percent. Holy crap, Melo B. She hit it right. Oh, my gosh. On the button. You're a minority. He's Latino.
Man, I'm a double minority. Not actually a minority. That's true. Not anymore. Yeah. Got one this weekend. What? Which one? Both? You got a minority or you got a manicure? I got a manicure. Wow. Not a full boat. I have a bigger problem with a manicure than a pedicure. What? No way. Yes, I do. I do. Personally. Can I just say this? Yeah. Remember yesterday I said that I got on a train? and that the woman that was assisting me didn't like me, and I don't blame her, I don't blame you for your thought about that. Thank you. I don't blame you. I deserve that. Yeah, you do. Okay, fine. I'm not denying it. I mean, I'm not going to say. I don't get them. I've had them. I've had, in my life, I have had three pedicures, one manicure. Three. What's next? A skirt? Mikey has a nightgown.
Yeah, it's getting close. It's already been a tough one. It has been a tough day, but holy cow, just pile on. Woods has a deep condition. Mike, you also have a small one. Yeah. Kind of like we're on The View all of a sudden. Bunch of cackling hands in there. Hey, don't let me into that. Ultimate Man's drink is still a beer. 35% of dudes prefer it. 28 say whiskey, 27 scotch. You can't drink any of that, Mike. Yeah, Mike. You don't fall into any of those percentages. Oh, duels doesn't count, sissy. Mike, what about AA? Is there a percentage on that? Oh, wow. Good Lord. You go to AAA meetings? Hi, my name is Mike, and I am fat and alcoholic. Mexican. Short. Short. Bad lover.
I got pedicures. Pedicures, manicures, wrestling. What did we say? Crap dad. I'm a crap dad. I'm a crap dad. They ain't got enough support groups for you, Mike. You probably have to form it. You should just form one that just has everything. The worst anonymous. Yeah, the worst anonymous. That's you. WA meeting. Founder. Only be one guy there. You. Woods can go on Sunday. That's McDonald's addiction day. Now, this is all guy stuff. The average man has four to six pairs of shoes and one to three suits. That's about right. I'm way off on both of those. I have way more pairs of shoes than that. Me too. You do too, Jay? Oh, I have tons of shoes. I have tons of shoes that he got for free at radio stations. No, they were radio stations. They were actually movie... Reps from the company. He has Repo Man shoes when the movie came out. I'm the sample size. I can't help it. I can't help it. Let's see. How many suits you got? One. One. Wow. One mandatory suit. For funerals and weddings. Yeah, one suit.
And the only reason I don't have more than one is because I never know what's going to happen with my weight. And that's a true story. I saw it. Holy cow. Just get it made out of elastic. What a great invention. She takes such delight in that. I know. I like the face when my kiss hit with an arrow. With a right cross from Muhammad Ali. I said to Woods off the air during the break, I said, Some days are diamonds. Some days are stones. Some days you're the dog. Some days you're the hydrant. Today I'm the hydrant. Yeah, you are. So is Woods. Are you not having a good day? I said to Woodsy, I go, something's off. I think he hates me. No, I'm having a great day. I just meant that me and Jay were ganging up on the two of you. We're the dogs. It's totally fair. I'm having a great day. Are you? Yeah. So if I check your phone right now and look at the texts. Yeah, for sure. I won't find.
Text your wife telling you. You'll fine text my mom. Because I have a. My sister-in-law is giving birth today. Yeah. I'm excited. I'm nervous. I'm anxious a little bit. I wish you'd told me. Oh, I did. No, no, no. I mean that's what's. Yeah, I'm just. I'm anxious. I'm just. I hope everything's okay. When is the baby supposed to be born? She went in this morning. At 5 a.m. Dallas time. And she's still in there. And my mom just texted me that they're thinking at about 3 o'clock Dallas time. So about 1 o'clock our time. That's cool. My nephew. And I'm just, it's my first blood nephew. Yeah. And I'm just, I'm happy and I'm sad. Anticipation. I'm the whole thing. You're the whole boot. Yeah, the whole thing. Today is Luke and Ryan, my twin boys. Today's their birthday. Lots of birthdays today. Today's a good day. Yes. We will celebrate by doing nothing. Well, you will celebrate by doing nothing. I'm sure your wife has something planned. Yes, she does. Yeah, of course. M1 Brendan, are you there? Yeah. Brendan, you called yesterday and you told us a story about your girlfriend who works at UTC. We have her on another line right now and she cannot hear us on that line.
But we said that we were going to call her back today. And we have her on a line, but she's on an isolated line. She can't hear us. But anyway, she works at UTC. She has lunch at the UTC food court every day. And you went to surprise her. So you called her up and you said, hey, what are you doing? And she said, eating by myself, looking like a dork. You turn the corner. And you're going to surprise her and say, look to your left and you're going to be standing there and she'll be like, oh, what are you doing? Only when you turn the corner and she had said that she was sitting there eating like a dork by herself, it turns out she wasn't. She was with a guy. And so you got off the phone and proceeded to watch her for 40 minutes. Creepy. And we said that today we would get her on the line and ask her about it.
So what we're going to do is we're going to let her know that it's us, and then I'm going to let you ask her, okay? All right. Is that cool? Yeah, that's cool. Okay. I got her on the line, I believe. Vanessa, are you there? Yeah, hi. Hi. Hello? It's Mikey, and you're on the radio. It's FM 94.9. It's a Mikey show. Hi, Mikey. Hi. And we have Brendan, your boyfriend, on the line. Say hi to Brendan. Hi, Brendan. What's going on? How are you? I'm fine. You know, I called and I asked these guys if they would help me out to solve a little mystery that I kind of stumbled onto. Okay. And so, you know, I was going to come surprise you when you were having lunch the other day. You know, we were talking on the phone. You said, oh, I'm sitting alone in the food court. I look like a big dork because I'm sitting here all by myself.
but I was going to surprise you, and then when I turned around the corner, you were sitting there with some guy, and you were not quite as alone as you had let on. Oh, my God. Brendan, why are you asking me this on the radio? What's just stood up out of nervousness? Okay. Sure, Jimmy. First of all, he's a co-worker. He's a friend. He's gay, in fact. So I don't know why you get jealous over every guy that I talk to. But why are you stalking me at work? That's so weird. Hey, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Hang on. Vanessa, but you did lie. If he's gay and he's a co-worker, what do you have to hide? It's just too long of an explanation to go into on my lunch break. I get like 20 minutes at my lunch break. So you thought it would take 20 minutes? Because you spent 40 minutes with him because he watched it for 40 minutes. But did you think that it was going to take 20 minutes to say, I'm having lunch with my friend from work? Look, I just know how he gets. He gets jealous and a little crazy sometimes. And I didn't want to embarrass myself in front of him answering all these questions about who this guy was. Wait, like crazy, like watch you for 40 minutes behind a pretzel stand crazy? Wait, so you were protecting him?
Yeah, I didn't want to embarrass him because this guy is my friend. He's just a friend. You say he's just a friend. You say he's just a friend, but baby, please. If he's just a friend, couldn't you just say that he's a friend? Why would you have to lie? I don't know. It was just easier in the moment. I don't know. I didn't think about it. I get it. I totally get it. I see what she's doing. You have lunch with a lot of girls? No, I just would. I mean, it's just easy. Like, you know, I'm just sitting here looking like a dork. I mean, I would definitely. But she specified, I'm by myself. I'm by myself. Hey, guys. She doesn't want to explain. If Kim knew how many girls I was having lunch with when she's called me, if I had to tell her every single girl that I was having lunch with when she's called me, if I gave her a dollar for every time, she'd be a million. Yeah. It's easier to explain. But, Brendan, why don't you just come up and talk to us? Yes. She's a normal person. Yeah, that's normal. Why didn't you, Brendan? Why didn't you go up to him? You know, it seemed like it made me suspicious that you would lie to me. I felt like an idiot because I was trying to surprise you and do something nice. I got it. I know why. I know why he stood there and watched. He wanted to see if...
Anything would happen. He wanted to see if there was any playful touching, playing grab ass with each other. He wanted to see that. Is there a history of jealousy, trust kind of stuff with you guys? Well, he gets jealous with every guy that I ever talk to. I wonder why. Is that true, Brandon? Are you a jealous guy? I think I'm a protective guy. I don't know. I would call it out of turn jealousy. You wouldn't call it protective. Everyone else, or you wouldn't call it jealousy, but everyone else might. Yeah, but L.O.B., that doesn't excuse the fact that she, A, lied. Yes, she did lie. And it still sounds shady. And if the shoe were on the other foot, I would be pissed. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. You can come to lunch today and meet him if you want, if it'll make you feel...
better about the situation. I would take her up on that, Brendan. 100%. Because what that's called is a bluff. If it's a bluff. If it's a bluff. If it's a bluff, it's called a bluff. But in her mind, there is 0% chance that now you would do that. Oh, I would 100% do that. So I say do it. Do it. What does that prove, though? Well, you get there and he's like, hi, how are you? Yeah. Well, maybe he isn't. Maybe he's like, hey, how you doing? Yeah. But one way or another... Well, you'll know real quick. It's like, hey, so I hear you're gay. Yeah, you know right away. I hear you're gay. No, you don't say I hear you. Oh, I would ask. Really? You would walk up to somebody and say, hi, I hear you're gay. Yeah, I would. Really? Yeah. My girlfriend here says you're gay. My girlfriend here says you're gay. What if they're having an affair and she tells him to pretend to be gay? Okay. Wait, wait, wait. Devious minds. He wouldn't do that. Nobody walks up to somebody and goes, hey, hi, Josh. My girlfriend here tells me you're gay. No one would do that. No one. Sorry, here you go. I'll meet you today at lunch. I'll ask him. The reason that I would go and meet him is because if there's something going on between the two of them, there will be a weirdness. If he doesn't know.
Let's say she's cheating on you and he doesn't know. He'll be a little curious when you announce that you're her boyfriend. Which you could somehow work into a conversation. Well, what if he knows about the boyfriend but they're still doing the hibbity-dibbity? Then there's nothing he can do. And he shouldn't be with her if that's the case. Now, what if what she's saying is completely true? It could be. Very well. It probably is. It is true. I believe her. Listen, she sounds like a little angel. She does sound like a little angel. Maybe send us a picture. I forgive you for lying. Oh, wow, wow, wow, wow. What if she's not lying? Or what if she isn't telling the truth? What if she's a cheater and you two creeps are sitting there? Because of the way she sounds. Because of the way she sounds. Because she sounds cute. And you two creeps are wanting her to send a picture. He said picture. I said I forgive you.
I say, Brendan, you just let it flow. No. Be all good. She's trustworthy, man. Go see her. Go meet this guy. Go meet him. Why not? That's kind of a psycho move. Just come meet me at lunch. Everything, you'll feel so much better once you meet him, I promise. There's three options. One, she's lying and bluffing. Or two, she's lying and the other guy could be in on it and be a part of it. Or C, she's telling the truth. And there's nothing going on between her and that guy. But see, that one's kind of tough for me to believe. Because if that's the case, Vanessa, why are you with a guy that you know is such a jealous guy that you have to lie to him on the phone? Like, why? Why would you do that? Why would you be with a guy? Because I love him. You know, we all have our issues, and he definitely has some with jealousy, and I know it's just out of insecurity, and I want him to know that I love him, and maybe, you know, if he surprised me with roses rather than just stalking me. L.O.B., L.O.B., you are a detective. Yeah. I want to know what you think. Now, personally,
I, if I weren't doing anything wrong and were being, if I was being stalked and accused and also put on blast on the radio, I'd probably be a little more defensive. So I'm very skeptical. Because she's not that defensive. No. But if you're defensive, like. She's not defensive, so I believe her. I'm saying I would be defensive if I didn't do anything wrong. Almost a little too calm about it. Oh, yeah, come meet him. It's all good. I mean, Brendan's going to get his later for putting her on blast. There's no question about it. Oh, yeah, he's a dead man. Dead man. I'm already waiting for that. Oh, yeah, you're a dead dog. There's no question. There's no getting around it. But there's something in her voice that she's almost, she's like, listen, dude, there's nothing going on. I lied to you because of you. See, but I feel there's something in the voice that's saying like, oh crap, he better not come. No, I don't know. I don't think so. I'd ask the guy if he wanted to have a three-way and then see if he pays more attention to you than he does for her. You want to get it on with a dude? No, but then you would know as soon as he started paying attention to you. Why do you want to have a sword fight? That's when you know if this guy is truly gay. But if he's not into chicks also, then he also might not want to. So there you go. So a win-win for you, Jay.
Mike's face is priceless. You can't put a price on this face after that latest comment by Jason R. Isbell. Creep extraordinaire, San Diego, California. Peace. Good luck, you too. I want an update. Oh, yeah. Brendan, can you please, please go? and meet him today. Take her up on her offer. She's offering. She's offering nicely, and then maybe we talk to you tomorrow. All right, man. Yeah, I'll let you know what happened. All right. Rad. Thank you. Thank you, Vanessa. Yep, send us a picture. Little Angel. Bye, Little Angel. I am so creeped out. There's a lot of girls in there, mate. There's also a lot of guys in here, so who knows who he was talking about. That's true. We all know he's by curious. Before we went to break, he was talking about... Having threesome with a dude. Just throwing it out there. If he did, I didn't say I was going to go through with it. Didn't you? I was just putting it out there. Yeah.
Literally. If you want to check me out on my Facebook, guys. I was going to see if you guys thought I was serious and then I'd know if... If y'all were. If you were. Exactly. Now you're picking up what I'm throwing down. Turns out Woods is straight. Yeah. Is he? Who knew? Isn't he? So welcome back. It's the Mikey Show. And I'm Mikey. That's Woods. That's L-O-B. That's Jason R. Isbell. And our phone screener is Chris. Crawl! And we have Mark Devine in the studio. Now, the reason that Mark is in here is because his company is one of the most fascinating things I've ever seen in my life. Woods' birthday. And welcome, Mark. Woods' birthday. We're down at the beach, my wife and I and Woods. It's about 10 o'clock in the morning. And my wife goes, oh my gosh, look at those guys. And you see these guys and one girl. And they are dressed in what kind of pants, Mark? They were cami fatigues. Cami fatigue, like pants, you know, heavy cotton pants. Right. White t-shirts and combat boots. Right. And they are carrying what looks like a telephone pole. Yeah. It looked like a telephone pole. Yeah. And they're carrying it into the water at the beach. And then they're carrying it out of the water. And they're very tired. And they lay the thing down on the beach.
And then these drill instructors are telling them, you got two minutes to pack your bags, hurry up, blah, blah, blah. You know, and I had a video camera and I ran over to document. And it is, it looks unbelievably hard. Now, I call one of your guys over and I say, are you guys in the military? And he says, no. And I said, what? He says, no, they're paying for this. I said, what? This isn't like a prison sentence. This is not prison? No, this isn't like work release. I said, what's going on? He says, well, it was 11 o'clock in the morning. He says, well, they've been at it since 12 o'clock yesterday afternoon. I said, wait a minute. They've been doing this all night long? He goes, yeah. I said, well, when do they stop? And he says, day and a half.
They go for two and a half days doing this. And I said, two and a half days? And they didn't, I said, when do they sleep? He goes, they don't sleep, they rest. They'll get a little rest, but they don't sleep. I go, the human body can do that? They can go two and a half days? He goes, well, when they do the seals, it's six days. Six days. Shows how tough those guys are. Yeah, it does. So, Mark Devine. I got the card. I said, we got to have him on the air. Oh, yeah. He is the founder and what he calls the head coach of SealFit. And what is it? Tell us what it is, Mark. Well, SealFit is a training business, but our mission is to forge mental toughness in our clients. And so one of the programs is the program that you saw, Mikey. It's a 50-hour nonstop. physical training evolution that we call the kokoro camp and that kokoro means warrior spirit and so you know we we train them physically very very hard i mean people have been training for about a year to two years sometimes for longer for this camp and a lot of our clients are actual seal candidates and green beret candidates and you know marine special ops candidates okay so that isn't missed on anyone they train for a year to train
Yes. That's right. In this program. Sounds kind of odd, doesn't it? Oh, my gosh. This is not for the faint of heart. This is not for me. Or? Woods. Oh, wait. But wait. Not 50 hours, guys. Jason or Isbell. Our producer. Yeah. Said that he would do it. Oh, yeah. He said during the break. I said. He said I'd do it. I said, let's hear what it has to do. What? Woods said. He's going to tell us. We'll find out exactly what it is. 50 hours is insanity. Do you have a 24-hour one? No. 50 hours. But if Jason wants to do it, we'll extend it. Jason? Free tuition. Jason, free. It's on the house. It's on the house. I'm at the train. You don't need a train. I thought you were a Superman. I would be buried. I couldn't come back in on Monday. What a wuss. When I saw it, it was all guys and one girl. And I just asked Mark. During the break, Mark Devine, SealFit, what's the website? SealFit.com. SealFit.com. I said, the girl make it. He says, yeah. 50 hours. She went 50 hours. She was our fire in the belly awardee, which is, we give two awards. One is called the Honor Man, which is, you know, the overall top performer, the leader, the, you know, the guy or girl, I suppose, that you would expect to kind of like kick ass. Right.
And then we give a second award we call Fire in the Belly, and that's for the person that kind of rises up and, you know, just won't quit, right? Is there at the end when we didn't expect them to be. And this woman who is an Army, like, specialist that wants to join a special intel program in the Army, she did it. And she went the distance, and she was a real inspiration for everyone. She was about five feet tall, man. She was a short gal. She was humping it, man. She was just going for it. Tough as nails. Oh, yeah. I mean. And she had a smile on her face the entire weekend. It was amazing to see. And she had actually had a little bit of a leg up because I have a academy, a live-in academy. And she had spent the previous week training from 6 a.m. until about 8 or 9 at night with me, along with about six other guys. And so, you know, a lot of the things that we. um that she went through in the camp we we taught her you know a lot of principles to survive right to thrive so we actually teach mental toughness and then we put them through the test i would like you to teach me the mental toughness but i don't want to go through the test right i'm looking at mark he's one of the most fit people i've ever seen in my entire no doubt about it he's he's all sinew i know i was gonna say i bet he's
1% body fat. If that. If you could find 1%. Yeah. You probably couldn't find the 1%. Oh, my God. Whatever. I'm just sick of it, Mike. Is this interview just going to go on and on forever? Mark Devine, he has sealfit.com. And let me tell you, this would be the reality show. Because they do reality shows on people that really go through, you know. Those are the real deal that are going through the training, which is really interesting to watch. These are regular Joes. In fact, one of the guys, I don't know who it was, but one of the guys was a former NFL player, and he was just out there, and he wanted to see what he had. Another guy was a guy in his 50s. What's left in the tank? Do I still have the balls to do this? In his 50s. And he was out there, and these guys were going for it, man. And all I could think to myself was, he said that... A lot of them, you know, they're puking. Yeah. And they'll drop out. If you drop out, oh, well, you know, you don't get your money back, which is good because it's an incentive. It's like, hey, I'm in this. I'm in this thing. I'd go for about 25 minutes and then I'd be like, whatever I paid is totally worth it to get out of here. It's totally worth it to get out of here. 23 minutes more than I could do it. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You and Mikey should form unfit.com. It's like 50 hours of McDonald's and Wendy's, and you guys can lay around on the couch. Just be yourself, really. Yeah, just unfit.com. That's pretty cheap. Unfit.com. Hi, we're Mikey and Woods for unfit.com. You want to be like us? Sign here. That's right. You could have a 50-hour webcam on yourself. Yeah. Not moving the whole time. For 50 hours, you're not going to move. Donuts for 50 hours. For many of those hours, you will sleep. Mark, when was the last time you had a donut? It's been a few years. He won't even look at them. They repulse him. A donut to him is like a turd. It's the same thing. He puts turds and donuts in the same exact category. Did you know that they still had donuts? You think that was like something of the 80s? I heard rumors. He's like, I thought it was like a Patrick Nagel painting. It was like a fad, donuts. So tell us what it's like at the end of this thing. How does it end, the 50 hours? How does it come to a close?
We have a lot of false summits, okay? And so one of them is really at the very end. So the guys and ladies have been up for, you know, 48 to 49 hours straight. And one of the final evolutions is a 20-mile hike, you know, under load at night, and they're not allowed to talk, right? So, again, it's all about, you know, going within. That almost just made me vomit. I'm going to throw up. I swear. I feel I'm going to throw up. Okay, so we pull them off, you know, the mountain. And we go immediately into another evolution. How much does the pack weigh? 40 pounds. Oh, my gosh. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Just to wrap my head around it. 40-pound weights. A 40-pound pack. Right. They've been awake how long? Long time. Like 30 hours. 30-some-odd hours. 30-some-odd hours. Right. And then they go on a 20 what? A 20-mile hike. 20-mile. Uphill. Well, half of uphill, you know, and then they come back down again, of course. Oh, my God. Oh, wow. It's making my grundle hurt. Oh, yeah. Badly. Sounds exciting. Well, that part is actually pretty rewarding for a lot of them. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. For sure. Much like the feeling we get as we pull into the drive-thru. As we get into the drive-thru and we manage to finish our meal before we get home and our wives found out that we went to McDonald's. You know what's really crazy is that I have nothing to...
like reflect like that upon. I don't have that sort of rewarding feeling. I can help with that. Oh, no, you cannot. Yes, you can. Oh, no, you can't. It would take, I mean, that's just something I know. I can't, I will never experience a 20-mile hike, let alone the other stuff. Like the 20-mile hike, that's the cherry on the cake. Yeah. It'd be like you guys attempting that 72-ounce steak. Yes. That's his equivalent. If you can make it to the end of that, you're a hero in your own mind. In our world, that's what it would be like. I felt that way. The fire in my belly really came in college. I put down a 20-pack of chicken nuggets one time, and I was like... It's a crowning moment. I did it. I freaking did this thing. So they come off of this 20-mile hike with a 40-pound pack. and do they know that's the last thing, or do you even tell them? Well, the sun is coming up. It's day, you know, two and a half. They're starting to know that we've got to end this thing sooner or later. A lot of them have plane flights home, right? So it's not going to go on for another day. So we pull them off, and we redirect them, and they immediately go into another mission where they're being really challenged. Okay, so it's about two hours of work on the beach. When we finish that,
We're, like, congratulating them. Incredible job. It's time to power down. You know, let's go have some breakfast. And so we get them all dried, warm, and we go have breakfast at this really nice local restaurant. It's a piece of lettuce, I guess. Yeah. What do you have? They eat these manhole pancakes. Do they really? We know that they're going to lose their, you know. They're going to lose it. They're going to lose it probably a little bit later. But anyways, and then I teach them a little yoga class. And one of the things that I like to do is integrate kind of, you know, Eastern and Western. You know, hard training, but then we pull back and we go soft to give them some rest. And so I, you know, stretch them out. They're really tight. We give them yoga. And then I put them into what we call the dead man's pose. And within about 15 seconds, they're all snoring. Right? I mean, they are just dead to the world. Yes. What is the dead man's pose? Shavasana. Shavasana. Yeah, you just lay there. Oh boy, you show up. And you shut down. Shall I be? Good Lord. Of course. What does Shavasana look like? She's like, oh, the Shavasalon? Yeah, the Shavasalon. No, do you do Shavasalon one or two? It's the dead man's pose. What does it look like? You look like a dead man. You just lay out flat, straight like that. Yeah, you just...
lay flat on the floor and they fall asleep immediately fall asleep of course they haven't slept you know since thursday night oh my god right it's now sunday at about 10 or 11 in the morning and then you fire cannon pretty much yeah then all you know we get let them sleep for 15 minutes which is just long enough for them to literally dip into rem you know because they're so tired and you go hey guys and then you know how much i would curse break them out Do you really have the water hoses? Of course. Nuh-uh, for real? Well, not the fire. No, but a water hose. But we use water hoses and bullhorns and a lot of loud noise. They're completely disoriented and completely out of their element. They're running around like chickens with their head cut off. We get them out to the grinder, which is where we grind people's spirits, forge their mental toughness.
And that's where we put them through about two hours more of probably the most intense training of the entire weekend. And that is the crowning, you know, training piece. And we do not secure them. Describe it. Well, we get them literally back under the logs that you saw. These logs are 300 pounds. And so we might have two or three boat crews under these logs. And we won't secure them until they can all, as of class, move these logs with exact precision through communication and just kind of that team spirit has come together where they're all working as one unit, one mind. And we get them there without fail every class. And it's extraordinary to watch because, you know, they've gotten to the point where they've left their bodies behind. Their bodies aren't, you know, barely functioning. Their minds, you know, at this point, this is why we call it the Kokoro experience, the warrior spirit. Their minds pretty much are shattered. And so they're drawing from the resolve. I feel tougher hearing about it. I do. I mean, just hearing about it, I'm like, I think I can conquer things. I'm blown away. I cannot believe, I can't wrap my head around it. Are you awake the whole time as the trainer or do you work in shifts?
He's like, yeah, are you crazy? What, are we going to do that? For crazy people. For the first about 10 or 12 camps, we were, but I've got enough of a cadre, enough of a staff that we can now do shifts. Do you need me to come in on the weekend and maybe help out? Of course, yeah, absolutely. I'd love to. I'd love to. It'll take a 12-minute shift. A 12-minute shift. By 12, you mean two. That is Mark. We're talking to Mark Devine. What were you, what are your, um, what's your experience? Like what, you know, what are your qualifications? I ate a lot of donuts, which gave me the mental toughness. Yeah, right. I hear that. No, I'm, um, I've been a Navy SEAL for 20 years, 10 of it active duty and the other 10 in the reserves. So I'm a commander in the Navy, retiring this year, um, submitted my papers. So I'm, I'm done with that phase of my life, but I'm also about a 20. Did you know any of these guys that we just lost? Yes, unfortunately. Oh man. It's too bad. It's hard to hear. It's tragic. For sure. Yeah, I appreciate that. Anyway. Yeah, anyway, exactly. Where do you go with that? Anyways, I know. I've got about 25 years of martial arts experience and a lot of work with different martial arts and about 15 years in yoga and teaching yoga. And I'm really passionate about leadership. I used to be an adjunct professor of leadership at the University of San Diego. And so kind of what I've...
How this came about is in 2006, the Navy hired me to put together a nationwide mentor program for actual SEAL candidates. And it was supposed to be a five-year contract. I had a one-year run in it, and then a larger company kind of manipulated it and kind of took it over. And so I looked at that and said, you know what, there's a silver lining here. I don't belong in government contracting, but what I really love to do is to train people, you know, mano-a-mano. And I want to train people who really want to learn, like who don't want to be a statistic for the SEALs. They want to be standing there at the end of the training or a civilian, you know, not unlike yourselves, who wants to experience, you know, that ultimate test, right? What is it like to go through or to be fit like a SEAL? And that was kind of my initial thinking around SEAL fit. And it's kind of expanded to where... I really teach a whole new model of thinking, especially in my academies, right? How to live at a more powerful level, how to make better decisions. You know, I teach that fitness is really integral to basically living, you know, a productive, good life. And that's, you know, at least one of my belief systems. And so it's become this kind of labor of love. And I've got a pretty broad following now. We've got thousands of people doing our workout that we offer every day online at sealfit.com. Now, when you did this again...
The statistics, by the way, for people that are trying to become Navy SEALs is that only 10% of the people that try make it, correct? It's close, yeah. Something like that, yeah. That's so elite, dude. 90% failure rate because they just drop out. They can't do it. I mean, it's a whole different category of human being. And this is the thing, too. You know, as we were listening, as Woods and I are listening, Woods, I don't know if you're anything like me. You're going, never. I mean, never. I couldn't. Okay. That's not, I was made to do voices and I was made to do, you know, whatever. Like I got my gifts, physical stuff. Now there are people listening though that are hearing this and they're like, I didn't know about this. There are people listening right now that are going, I want to challenge myself and I would do that. Which to me, if you're that guy or girl, kudos. Yeah. Right. No way. Jay. Even you, and you're the most physically active human I've ever seen. You set records on the course at Wipeout. I don't think. All due respect. He's laughing. He's like, Wipeout? He's like, Wipeout? Yeah, 50 hours is a lot. I mean.
It's just a whole different universe. Do you think Mark, if he had his hands tied behind his back and his feet bound, could still beat you and I up at the same time? Yes. A Girl Scout could do that. Your wife must feel like... The most protected woman on the planet. She feels safe. Yes. My entire neighborhood actually feels safe. Oh, yeah. They've expressed that to me a few times. I would be just taking him muffin baskets. Thank you, man. Just thanks for being here. If I had a choice between a rabid German Shepherd or Mark, I'd get Mark. 100%. Every day. I'm surprised he doesn't work for, like, Kanye or something. Like, protecting somebody just huge. Well, protecting the guys that protect Kanye. Right. Right. The guys that protect Kanye, they hire Mark. Yeah. To protect them. Yeah. Oh, my gosh. Well, listen. Nate, it's sealfit.com. It was one of the most fascinating things I've ever seen. People pushing themselves to the point of just absolute exhaustion. But what's the stats on your guys going to the SEALs?
For the folks who we train in our academies, the one-week and three-week academies and the Kokoro Camp, which is the 50-hour, we have 100% success rate. Holy cow. 100%. You want to be a Navy SEAL? Go see this guy. If they make it through his program, they're in. The flip side of that is we have SEAL candidates who have already gone to the recruiter, didn't take the time to train themselves at the level that we know they need to be prepared. will come to our Kokoro camp as a last tune-up, quote-unquote, and they quit. And so we tell them, listen, you've got to go back to your recruiter and say, I'm not ready. I need six more months or nine more months, or else you're going to be chipping paint on the USS butt plug or something like that. It's Jay's favorite boat. Yeah, it's his favorite one. Mark, did the 50-year-old guy that I saw, did he make it? Oh, yeah, he made it. How about the NFL guy? Derek Price was the NFL. He played for the Detroit Lions. And he's an interesting story, actually, now that you ask that. He had broken his neck, and that ended his NFL career about 10 years ago. And so ever since, he's been trying extreme challenges to try to prove that he's still got the stuff. So he's run the Hawaiian Ironman. He's done long open-dition swims. And when he heard about our camp, he thought, okay, here's the next challenge. It was all about him.
Anyways, he literally went through a transformation in the Kokoro camp because he realized very quickly it wasn't all about him. And his biggest value was to help the team. Literally, to help the team get through. That's what I'm saying, man. Reality show. He sent me this amazing email, this testimonial, saying literally his entire paradigm of life has shifted after the camp. He's got chills. Deep, introspective process goes on through 50 hours of nonstop training. You have a lot of time to think about your life. And he's completely shifted to where literally the next phase of his life, he's all about other people. He's trying to find opportunities to support and help other people, just normal people. His concept of team expanded from I'm a member of this elite football union. Isn't that crazy? That's awesome. Hey, big round of applause from Mark. SealFit.com, incredible program. Thank you, man. Thank you for coming on. Thanks for having me. I show him how I got to grind down like a science. It sounds like a riot on hush. I will put the words in your mouth. I love it. Let your voice be heard on The Mikey Show now. Why don't you tell him the whole story? Time to wake up, sir. Call 570-1949. Or shoot him a text at 949mikey at gmail.com. Shut up. The big, big, big new release today is
The Throne, which consists of Kanye West and Jay-Z. Together, the album is Watch the Throne. The song's called Otis. I like it. It's weird. I heard they had to reinforce the studio to support both of the egos when they were recording the album. Yes, they did. Put extra beams in the floor. They actually had to do it outside. They had to widen the door to fit the headset. Yes, exactly. Wow. Oh, and this band is probably my number one most hated band ever, the Bare Naked Ladies Snack Time. Oh, B&L. Yeah, B&L. And each one has their share. Woods. Woods is in his coffin. Snack time. Woods, did you know that Bare Naked Ladies, they have followers like Dave Matthews. Oh, I know. I saw them in concert. Weird. Big players in Virginia and the East Coast. I think this is a kid's album, though, because the whole thing. Snack time. And it starts going through, like, their favorite snacks. I thought of you guys. Snack time. Snack time.

It sounded like a part of the song. It did. Oh, God. Oh, good. Oh, man. Out on DVD today, the only movie of note is Your Highness, which is a stoner comedy with Danny McBride and James Franco. That's it. That's it.
Not a lot. Oh, I know. I'm going to check out that new Kanye and Jay-Z record, though. Not going to check out Snack Time by the Bear Nation later. I can't do anything here at all. Lauren. I wash my hands like a thousand times when I cook. Woods. I don't like to be tickled because I... Squeal like a little girl. And Jay. Hey, I like the skateboard. On FM 94.9. Mikey Show Live. Let's make some noise. Four things to think about before you send a sext message. Number one. Is the photo sexy? Now, for me, this has to do with husband and wife. Is the photo sexy? That's just the way I play the game. I mean, you can play the game however you want, but when I play it... You play husband and wife. Fake husband and fake wife. The most humiliating sound effect Jay's ever come up with. He hits it over and over because it's so bad. Like a broken whistle pop. Right. It's so bad. Is the photo sexy? For some reasons, guys think that sexy means sending a photo of their junk like Brett Favre. That's not what it necessarily means. So back off a little bit is what they're saying. What about the tuck back? Oh, that's solid. No. No.
That is never, ever, ever attractive. Number two, does it show your face? This is an obvious one, you know, but it's very important, very practical. It will, you know, keep you out of a lot of trouble. Number three, who's going to see it? Something LOB should, you know, she should think about that with her boyfriend, Matt Commerce, because you never know. You never know what he's going to do. I don't have to worry about that. I don't do that kind of stuff. Well, if you did, if you did, if you did, is what I'm saying. I have a friend that I used to work with that used to show me his, which is really creepy. His girl? Yeah. Yeah. All guys do. It's true. Oh, really? Mm-hmm. Huh. Why would you want to show your boy your chick? Hey, look what I got. Bragging rights? Yeah. It must mean you're not too serious about it. It has to be. I mean, you don't care about her at all if you do that. It's pretty cool, though. Oh, wow. What if someone accidentally... What if someone else has your phone and they're using it to look up directions and then boop. Right. One of the dangers. That is... Yeah. So you have to send what they call the scout text. Mm-hmm. I know all about those. How do you know about those?
I heard about him somewhere. I think maybe I read it somewhere. The scout text is, where are you? What are you doing? What are you doing? Who's with you? I have a burning in my loins right now. She's a dirty bird. Creeper. No, I'm just telling you. I read things and I watch documentaries. You're sexually perverted. No. You're a sex pervert. You're a sex pervert. As I use my lips. That's creepy. And number four, double check the phone number. What does the bit where he switches people's numbers to get them? I've done that bit to some old friends. Oh, my gosh. It'll get you. Also, I... I wouldn't appreciate it. I would be furious. Yeah, I also got... I was with Jay. We were driving to Wipeout. Do you remember that, Jay? I do. And I got a random text from somebody that was like, Hey, what's up, Jennifer? I'm like, Hi, how are you? And I creeped on him for about an hour and a half as a girl. You pretended to be a girl? Yep, I did. It was the best. You didn't feel like a gay guy? Hey, babe. No, I was just doing a bit. I know, but isn't that... I like to be funny. I know, and you are. I know. But isn't that like going into a gay chat room and being like, hey, I'm just... No, I didn't get... I was just like doing a bounce, having fun. I didn't get sexual.
I didn't get sexual. I wasn't like, you know, I wasn't sexual. What did you say? She was, she actually, this person, was it a she? It was a she. It was a she. She was asking me for marijuana. And she thought you were Jennifer? Yes. What if she was an undercover cop? I don't care. I didn't do anything wrong. I was just doing a bit. I wasn't going to sell it to her. I wasn't going to sell it. This came on your phone? Oh, yeah. Don't you get those? Haven't you got those before? I used to get calls. All the time. Like, crazy, crazy numbers. Do you get those, LLB? Every once in a while. I call them back. Me too. And normally they don't pick up. Yeah, so I'll just pretend that I'm who they're texting and engage in conversation. It was great. We cracked up for an hour and a half.
driving as I'm negotiating marijuana prices. He didn't know whether he's a girl or a male at first, and so he's going back for it. He's like, man, I need a hookup or something. She's like, I'll hook you up with a man. That was crazy. Really? She went, yeah, I'll hook you up with a man. How did she convey that? How did she convey that? I don't know. I just said. It's pretty good the way all girls talk. It's a pretty good bit if you can get it. Yes. I got a call from an 858 number while I was on the East Coast, and I was already asleep, so I woke up the next morning at 7, called them back, which would have been 4 a.m., just to get them, because they got me. It was a Spanish-speaking woman on the answering machine. Briefly, I thought, I wonder if Mikey called me from one of his relatives' landlines or something. That was my first thought. If we counted how many times you've stabbed me today. It did a lot. I'm going to come out just my t-shirt shredded. I'm getting you with exit wounds now. That's right. That's right. We interrupt this broadcast. This is Sean Brokio. And we interrupt this broadcast to read you some Facebook news updates. M1 Felipe says, so bummed. Went to purchase my Jay-Z tickets. Sold out. Sad face. Sad face.
M1 Brandon says, Lindsay is making me watch the third season of Bachelor Pad. What do you think? Murder, suicide, question mark? Oh, wow. M1 Jarese says, is enjoying a piece of homemade cake and a glass of almond milk with the wifey. Yummy. Smile face. M1 Rob says, Hume Lake is amazing, exclamation mark. M1 Danielle says, Amber thinks that she's James from Big Time Rush. Lord help me. What? And finally, M1 Jen says, I want to karaoke Eminem criminal. Ha ha. And now back to regular programming. Tom?
Wow. Love that guy. Those are very informative. He's good. Do you ever get the news updates from people that are like three or four paragraphs long? Yes. They're a little update. Yeah. Facebook weirds me out sometimes because we have gotten, we are trained and conditioned now. I have a nephew being born today. What is the first thing I'm going to do when I hear about my nephew? I'm going to post it on Facebook. You can't though. You can't. Why? Because that's supposed to be for them to be able to do. No, I can do it. I can say I'm very happy to welcome mine. Dude, you're supposed to. That's protocol. Wait, what? I can explain. I can explain. I can't say I'm so excited to meet my nephew today. You have to wait until they do it. This is nothing new. Parents should be the first people to make the announcement. Parents are supposed to be the first ones to make the announcement. I remember my wife was upset.
Because people were calling her to congratulate her. She hadn't put anything on Facebook. She let somebody know. And they started putting it on Facebook. Oh. Family. That's my brother. This is my first blood nephew. And that's what Rebecca thought. She thought that family should be the one to do it. Or her. Yeah, I'm family. Yeah, I guess. I'm really excited. You know your brother. Yeah, I know my brother. You don't care less. I waited. I'll freaking wait now. I've just been shamed into it. Yeah, you're supposed to wait. And then the other thing, too, is that if somebody tells you what the sex of their kid is, you can't Facebook it. Oh, no. You can't do that. You can't. My brother did. My brother, Steve, did. About your voice? Yes. He said, just found out that Mike and Rebecca are having twins. Because we called them when we were leaving the sonogram. I think that's a big deal for a woman. That's not sex, though. No, it's not intercourse, but it's, you know. He didn't reveal the sex. But he revealed something even bigger. Twinsies. Twins is big. No, he did. He said the twin boys. Wow, double whammy. This is a double whammy. He's excited. He's family. He's uncle. Yeah. Hillary is not in today. She's on a little vacay. And so, filling in... I believe Drew is there?
Drew's here. The lovely and talented. Lovely and talented Drew is filling in today. Let's see. Kate Gosselin from... What is it? Wes and Kate in eight? Mary and Kate. Mary and Kate plus eight. Mary and Kate? Kate is enough. Mary and Kate Gosselin. Plus eight. She was on the Today Show. I'm hoping that that person is out there because the kids on a daily basis are just begging. for me to get married again. They bring it up all the time. And I'm like, I don't, I'm not dating anyone. My brother, my oldest brother, used to watch Jane and Kate Plus Eight. And he really enjoyed it. And I said, well, what was it? And he said, well, you know, that Kate was a real ball buster. She used to really give John a hard time. She wore the pants.
in the family. And the Rod Stewart haircut. She wore the Rod Stewart haircut and the pants in the family. There's only one person wearing the Rod Stewart haircut and it was Kate. It wasn't him. It wasn't him. Only one person in the Gosling family had a Rod Stewart haircut. If you had to guess, one would think it would be John. No, it wasn't. It's Kate. From Kate is Enough. She was a real ball buster though. I didn't watch it. We watched it. Yeah, my wife did too. How about you, Woodsy? No. No, gosh, sorry. But, Jay, you didn't, do you, all right, Kate Gosselin, would you? I don't know. Is my wife listening or? No, no, it's not that. It depends. There was, I don't know why. Is Kate hearing this? I don't know if I'm a weirdo, but I kind of thought she was kind of hot. She's kind of hot. She's kind of hot. I thought so. She had a lot of work done though, right? Yes, now, she's hot now, I think. Yeah, I'm thinking. Oh, Jay, you're so gross and creepy. Gosh, darn. What, what, what? Been a lot of activity. You don't want me to say an analogy. You can't say it, Mike. No, no. There's been a lot of action. A lot of pez came out of that dispenser. Hot dog down the hallway. All right, I got you. All right, well. We'll sign off. And that brings a close again to.
Mikey's live and sold. That's right. Another PG-rated program here. My gosh. I'm just going to slip into a nice warm bath now. Blood. Hey, let's make some noise in there.
