Friday August 13, 2010
Superstitious Sienna freaks out when she realizes today is Friday the 13th. Donald Trump adjusts his hairpiece as he rants about Jet Blue-by-you star Steven Slater. The Donald basically says that Slater is a bad employee and a self-serving jerk and Mikey agrees. As if once wasn’t enough, a kayaking dude sees sharks circling him and decides to go back for his camera and return to film them. A new game debuts that tests Mikey’s movie knowledge. A cocky Giant calls out the Padres on WoS. The panel ponders tweety birds on twitter and Dell’s answer to the Ipad. Woodsy beats the street to a coffee shop where he has to loudly repeat whatever Mikey tells him to via Bluetooth. The Kid blurts out random inappropriate things while the barista just wants to take his order! LOB recaps going to her friend’s house whose naked pictures of herself in yoga poses all over the walls made the girlfriend Lauren brought along very uncomfortable. M1s call in with strange things they’ve seen in people’s homes. Woods returns to the studio, although separated from his body in embarrassment. An angry Asian guy’s version of “Before He Cheats” is played and is scary enough to stop an alien invasion. Hoyle proposes his rap group idea with Woods called “Hoyle & Vinegar”! An email about a wife wanting to work full time while her lazy part time working husband claims he’d rather spend time with her and “get by” than be financially secure opens a big discussion. More audio of Jet Blue’s fly off the handle flyboy is played, this time from his ex-wife. Ice cream combos revisit Woodsy’s venom for “sample guy” and Mikey tries to shame LOB out of going to the self serve. The oatmeal cookie gender debate gets the pervert alert buzzing. Comedians Natasha Leggero and Duncan Trussell come by and rip on the Jet Blue goober Natasha tells about cutting her teeth (getting started in comedy) in a room that may or may not have been controlled by the mob. Are these two a couple? After all they share ownership of a dog they brought along. Sienna recaps her friend’s worries over marriage making people fatter. Dr. Laura audio of a black wife mad at her white husband for his family’s racist remarks makes The Kid squirm uncomfortably in his seat. LOB reveals that minority comics are allowed to make fun of anyone and everyone while white comics need to stick to joking about themselves. Sabrina reluctantly gives the weather report before bashing LOB’s clothes. Gas etiquette at the pump pumps up an impatient Woods. Which male body parts do women like best? Mikey and Woods whine about wearing skinny jeans for one last time.

What happened, in order
Slater: hero or hazard
The crew agreed with Donald Trump that JetBlue flight attendant Steven Slater's dramatic exit was funny but unstable, even as they joked that another airline could turn his notoriety into a marketing stunt.
Great whites on camera
Chuck Patterson returned to murky water with a camera after spotting sharks and filmed two great whites circling close enough for the hosts to call him both brave and foolish.
The hurtling BB bet
While arguing whether a baseball was hurling or hurtling, Mikey and Woodsy settled their muddled bet by shooting each other in the backside with a BB gun, then learned Sarah and Beau had broken up.
Movie hot potato
The first Movie Plot Hot Potato unraveled when Mikey blanked on Say Anything and Kingpin despite increasingly frantic clues from Woodsy and Jay.
Coffeehouse Kook
Mikey fed Woodsy absurd lines through a Bluetooth headset, forcing him to order coffee while announcing Team Edward, Metamucil trouble, a possible lazy eye, and bats in the cave to baffled strangers.
Nudes on the wall
Lauren described taking an uncomfortable friend into a woman's home covered with artistic nude self-portraits, prompting a long debate about confidence, visitors, photographers, and displaying intimate pictures.
Career or couple time
The crew debated Carrie Bear's full-time consulting offer, weighing her husband's wish for more time together against savings, ambition, independence, and a spouse's duty to support her choice.
Leggero and Trussell
Natasha Leggero and Duncan Trussell discussed Last Comic Standing, learning stand-up, touring together, and Trussell's absinthe-fueled Nikola Tesla installment of Drunk History.
The old photo fear
Sienna recounted Todd's friend discovering that his fiancée had once been much heavier, and the crew argued over whether fearing future weight gain was shallow, realistic, or irrelevant once love deepens.
Dr. Laura's race argument
After playing Dr. Laura Schlessinger dismissing Jade's complaints and repeatedly invoking a racial slur, the crew condemned her treatment of the caller while debating context, historical harm, comedy, and racial double s
Alzheimer's hits home
A caller promoted an Alzheimer's charity barbecue, leading Mikey and the caller to reveal that their mothers have the disease and to discuss early testing, mental exercises, and the illness's heartbreak.
Mikey's testimony
Mikey disclosed childhood sexual abuse, years of numbing himself with alcohol and drugs, and rehab, then said faith in Jesus Christ ended his hopelessness and pointed struggling listeners toward help resources.

KBCT San Diego. Lincoln Financial Media Station. The new home of the Mikey Show. This is FM 94.9. Let's get going. Friday the 13th. A day that is tricky. Gosh, I didn't even realize that. Oh no, Sienna. Oh no. This is superstitious. I didn't even realize, you guys. Let me tell you something. I just said that. I just said that. And Sienna... Meltdown. Well, here's the deal. I'm very, very used to a lot of Sienna looks like I can. I've seen like almost all of her expressions. You know, you get to know somebody over a period of time. You're going to see various different expressions and emotions. What I just saw from her terror was. Yeah. Like, oh, my God. I might as well have just said to her, you overslept. Oh, yep.
It was a look that was very similar to you overslept. Oh my gosh, I'm fired. I'm done. Yeah. And it was a look like, oh my gosh, it's Friday the 13th. She's very superstitious. She's so superstitious. And she's very, very pregnant. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You guys, we have so much going on today. And I just am realizing my lower back is really hurting. Oh, no. Oh, gosh. Oh, no. Oh, gosh. Friday the 13th. Oh, no. We have a lot going on. I need to go home and sit by myself. Just another day, kid. Just another day. All right. Keep telling yourself that. Although it's not because it's Friday the 13th. Just another day. You're going to do great. Today's Liberty's birthday. Happy birthday. That's Jay's daughter. How old is she today? She's 20 today. Big deal. How does that happen? I don't know. How does it happen that Jay looks that young? He's got four kids and two of them are in their 20s. That's insane. I know it. Well, welcome to the show. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show. And Woodsy is our sports guy. He is 35 years old. Correct. Sunburned.
He's very sunburned. Very sunburned. He went out into the ocean. In fact, he's so sunburned, he's got those sunburn chills. Yeah. Oh, those are the worst. Yeah. Did you put aloe vera on? Yeah, all kinds of stuff. Did you really? Solar cane, the whole bit. You had to do all that? I had to do all of it. Do you usually put on sunscreen? I do. And, you know, man, yesterday I went surfing in what looked like a lake because there were no waves. But I paddled out and I needed some exercise and I had to blow off some steam. Paddled out and just kind of messed around out there. And I had my rash guard on. Well, I laid down on the beach and was really tired. Took my rash guard off and I fell asleep. And I woke up and I was like, I gotta get home, I gotta get home. How long did you fall asleep? Probably like 45 minutes. Oh, wow. Yeah. Just crashed out. Laying in a tanning bed. Yeah. And I just had, I totally bricked and forgot to like rub down before I took the nap. Yeah. Did you put sunscreen on also? No, I'm saying that too. Yeah, I forgot to rub down and put sunscreen on. There it is. Hit the horn. You asked for it, basically. That's right. Pervert. Pervert alert. I told you we have a reason for it. I just didn't think it would come this early. I mean. That's. Oh. So dumb. I talked to Lauren yesterday. I said, she's a sociopathic pervert. I've been called worse. She's like the Dexter of perverts.
Fair enough. I love Dexter. Yeah. I can see that because you're just so perverted that we had to put the pervert alert in here. It's a horn that I constructed. And you control? I control it. It's so soothing to listen to. It is. I know. It doesn't even deter me at all. And I got to hit it whenever she says something dirty. That's. What? Lauren is our assistant producer. She is 29. And, boy, I'll tell you what. You take one look at her, and she's so unassuming. Oh, my goodness. What a shy, sweet little blonde. I know. That ain't what the deal is, though. She's more like a six-foot-tall truck driver. Seabass. Seabass. Sienna is our very superstitious pregnant news girl. How did I not realize what today was? I know it. I didn't either.
It's like the national holiday for superstitious people. That's right. We've been staying our meet and greet for like three weeks. Friday the 13th. I'm an idiot. I didn't make the connection. I just didn't even connect the dots. Sienna is 25 and then Jace 47. He's our producer. And it's Chris. It's Chris. It's Chris. Chris is our phone screener. And he's 21. Wow. Yeah. And you can call. Talk to him. Get on the air right now. Beginning and end of every show. We do open phones. You can call about whatever you want. And we'd love to hear from you. So give us a call. Tonight's a big night for us. It's our meet and greet. And it's going to be at the Tipsy Crow from 5 to 7. It's downtown. And the guys on the show, me and Woods and Jay, are wearing skinny jeans. My wife got my skinny jeans. You know, ready to go for me. They are skinny. They were a little long on you. Did she cut them? She shortened them and she tightened the calves. Oh, well done, Rebecca. Yes. We're going to look like idiots. Worse than an idiot. Worse than an idiot. Mikey said, I'm going to look nude. Yeah. As if that's different than any other day. I know, they're like a skin colored pants.
They are. Well, my skin color, not really my skin color. Well, at least they're not purple like mine. Mine are purple as well. Purple. Like Mikey's a lead singer and you and I are the backups. Oh, man. It looks foolish. It looks really foolish. And so we'll be at the Tipsy Crow tonight looking real foolish. I may be a Tipsy Crow. Yeah. That's right. Ridiculous. Gotta get comfortable. To get through this. Yeah. Hey, by the way, this morning... During the 7 o'clock hour, we're going to be doing our first coffeehouse kook. This is where we will send Woods to a coffeehouse with a Bluetooth in his ear. I'm so excited. And he will have to say everything I tell him to say. Out loud. Out loud. In front of everyone. In front of everybody. There is a slight possibility. Slight. Yeah. that I freak out and run as fast as I can. Well, just remember, it's during 7 o'clock. No one gets coffee at 7 o'clock in the morning. No one will even be in there. Oh, yeah. I may go, and then just run. It's going to be great. Oh, yeah. M1, Barry is on the line. Let's see. Barry, are you there? Yeah. What's going on? Hey, how's it going? Good.
You know, Sienna, I didn't realize she was a tridekaphobic. There's a name for what she has. Tridekaphobic? Yeah, tridekaphobia is people that are afraid of Friday the 13th. Ah, there you go. Who isn't afraid of Friday the 13th? I'm not. You're not. People are raising their hands in here. What's wrong? That was like saying that you don't mind cutting yourself shaving to Sienna. You know, I'm bald. I cut myself shaving all the time. I always look like buckwheat after I cut my head. There you go. Well, hey, dude, how did you know that that's what it's called? Oh, you know, because I'm always looking up words for, you'd be a surprise. You'd really be surprised how many phobia names there are for such things out there. Wow. And you're interested in phobias, and so you know about them. Yeah, because I'm always looking up, you know, different phobias and words in the day. That's cool. Maybe, hey, maybe you're a phobia guy for us. And you call us and occasionally you tell us what the different phobias are. He's afraid of not knowing the definition of what a phobia is. That's right. That's his phobia. Phobia phobic. He's phobia phobic. Here's a word I learned the other day. Here's one for you. Logeria. What is that? Logeria is someone that likes to talk a lot. They just ramble on and blah, blah, blah. So they suffer from logeria. I have logeria. I have logeria too. Yeah.
Pretty cool, huh? There you go. I like that one. Hey, guys, have a good day. See you, Barry. Yeah, I like those. So the JetBlue flight attendant, what's his name? Steven Slater. He's very well-known. Double S. Double S. He has become very, very well-known in a very short amount of time. Yes, he has. He's a cult hero. He is. He's a cult leader. That's what he is. Well. Yeah, yesterday, Lauren called him a cult leader. I had a momentary lab. Like David Koresh. Yeah. But it was funny because Donald Trump, of all people, Donald Trump was echoing my thoughts on Stephen Slater. I don't think he's going to be a folk hero for very long. I think as an employee, he is horrible. And as an employer. I would really go after him big league. They just caught up with him at a rave. Yeah. What's with people hanging out at raves recently? I know. Everyone's rocking out. There's more Trump on the flight attendant. We are celebrating somebody that doesn't deserve it. We are celebrating somebody that could have caused a major catastrophe. He's on a crime scene now. We are celebrating somebody that obviously is not very stable. And I think we should stop celebrating him pretty quickly. I think he's right.
I think you're celebrating somebody that seems not very stable. You don't seem very stable. You grab a couple of brewskis and slide off the bouncy thing. No, you seem pretty genius when you do that. I think you seem a little weird. Maybe we give him a job on our show. 100%. Not in a million years. Hi, Steve Slater reporting. Great. He gets upset. Hi, Steve. He gets mad and starts throwing stuff at you. Yeah. He just starts throwing, you know. F-bombs at my feet. F-bombs and coffee cups. It's a one-time thing. I'm not going to do it again. We don't even have an emergency shoot. Watch him. He's going to get some awesome job doing something like that. He'll have a reality show. A reality show, probably. He already does. Yeah, he does. That's true. This is a reality show. I mean, the guys are living a reality show, right? Mm-hmm. So what's the latest on him? Well, he wants his old job back. Sure he does. It's in the family. His dad was a pilot. His mom was a flight attendant. And they're saying that's in his blood. That's what he likes to do. Aw. Yeah. He wants his old job. I had a bad day, man. We've all had bad days. It's true. We've all snapped. There will probably be a reality show on who wants to be a flight attendant. Yeah. So you think you can flight attend? So you think you can flight attend? I would watch that. Yeah. Imagine all the drama that would go on on that show. Absolutely. Hook it up. One more. I think he's a wacko. I think he had a really bad day. I think that he probably had a fight with somebody that was very close to him.
And he let it out on the passengers. I don't think that's a hero. And I certainly don't think it's a folk hero. It's funny. I mean, it was funny. There's no doubt. But I agree with Trump. I think he's, you know, a little unstable. Throwing a fit, opening the door of the plane. Glass houses, Donald. Really? It's Donald Trump. He's a king clown. He's being so serious, too. Like, his opinion really matters. Let's really turn to Donald Trump. for some real insight into the human psyche. Yeah, the guy's also one of the most unethical dudes ever to walk the face of the earth. So maybe you get, Donald. Yeah, I mean, a little bit. I can agree with that. Yeah. Thank you. I'll rough talk him, dude. I'll come out here and rough talk him and run him off. He could be a crackhead. He could be a crackhead. Could be a crackhead. He wants his old job back. What has he done? He said to JetBlue, why don't you... And it's public pressure, by the way. That's what he's trying to do. Apply the public pressure. For sure. So that JetBlue goes, well, what are we going to do? Not give back a folk hero his job? Not a folk hero. Yeah, I think he's just making it known right now that that's what he loves to do. That's his passion because he was raised to do that. Tell you what, I'm Southwest. I snatch that guy up right away, pal. Yeah, you sure do. I snatch him up. Commercials around him. Absolutely. And you start...
Putting on the website what flights he's going to be attending so that you can... Yeah, exactly. Now you're talking, Mike. Yeah, I would never do it. They could do a reenactment of his whole bit and then be like, want to get away? No, boy. Genius. Oh, boy. Snatch him right up. Well, a little bit later, we're going to be playing you. Once the news gets a hold of something, there's not really much big going on. They'll play it up a while. And so a little bit later, we're going to be playing the audio from the Today Show yesterday. They talked to his ex-wife. I said, they talked to his ex-wife. Wait. Steven? What? Steven. Steven's ex-wife. Steven Slater's. Ex. Ex-slater. Ex-wife. Mrs. Slater. Mrs. Slater. Former Mrs. Slater. Former Mrs. Slater. Mrs. Slater. Ex-Mrs. Slater. I get it. X, Y. Emphasis on X. I get it. I emphasize my X's. I get it. Unnecessary X's. So funny. Oh. Again. Every day. Every day. Something going on.
This time it was close, though, wasn't it? Guess who was in the water yesterday swimming along? Alone. I was. Alone. Only man on the beach. Woodsy was. That's not a good idea. Looking like a chum suit. That's right. Well, let me tell you something. If that's my calling, then that's how I'd like to go out. Yeah. I'm saying bring it. You're in North County? Yes. Yeah, the next story is making national, probably worldwide news, right? Oh, big time worldwide news. Worldwide. Yeah. And it's a story that has to do... With local waters. By local, I mean San Onofre. San Onofre, just north of San Diego. That's right. How far from my house? You know where I live. A block. No. Just kidding. Half an hour. 450 feet. Seriously. How far up the beach? 15, 20 minutes. You think? Yeah, that's that far. 15 minutes. From your house, yeah. Yep. Well, there's a man. Wow, wow, wow. There's a man. Eight minutes if you have fins. who lives in Dana Point. His name is Chuck Patterson. And Chuck Patterson is a brave, brave man. Brave slash stupid. One of the two. Exactly. One of the two. 41 years old. He's out in the water and sees sharks. Now, exactly, there was a shark that...
hit the tail on his surfboard. Like, saw the tail moving over there. He was on, like, a stand-up paddleboard. Yeah, he was on a paddle. Was it a paddleboard? It just said his board. Oh, yeah. I think he was on a stand-up. I think so, too. Okay. Do you know what a paddleboard is? Yeah, you stand on it and you have a paddle. It looks like a longboard, surfboard, yeah. It looks like a lot of work is what it looks like. So this guy notices, all right, that's not just any shark. It's a great white. He goes back on shore. He gets a camera. He gets a 10-foot pole and mounts the camera on his board, and he goes back out into the murky green water. Oh, wow. I wouldn't touch that shark with a 10-foot pole, pal. The sharks are still there. Not one shark, but two sharks. Oh, wow. Both great whites. Oh, my gosh. What does he do? Puts his hand in the water, puts the camera under the water. It's an underwater camera, and captures footage of the great white sharks swimming around him. Right next to him. It's terrifying to me. Would you stick your hand in the water? I wouldn't. I wouldn't stick my toe in the water. No, I would stay perfectly still on top of that board. I would move to Cleveland. Yeah. Yeah. Well, these were an estimated nine-footer and a seven-footer. I don't care if they're two-footers. Holy cow, man. Yeah. That's a...
Big, big shark. Yeah. Yeah, like I said, the bigger shark showed up first, slapped his board with its tail before it swam off, and then the smaller shark circled his board for 12 minutes. He stayed in there for 12 minutes? Not only did he stay there, but he left, came back, brought a video camera, and stuck his arm under the water to get footage. Listen, if I'm that guy, all I want to do, first of all, I'd never do that, but if I was going to be that. I just go out there, get a couple minutes, a couple seconds of it. Like, show my friend. Hey, check out what I did. And then I'm done. 12 minutes. Yeah. 12 minutes. That's a long time. Yeah, it is. He probably was all amped off of Shark Week. Yeah. He was like, I'm going to get some footage. Well, it's difficult, too, because the water's been really green and algae-filled in North County recently. Like, the water looks green. It's disgusting. It's like, you feel like you're surfing in... Like an oil spill. You do. It's like slimy. I read a blog. It's not dangerous. Yeah, it's not. Is it not? No. I feel sick when I get out of the water. It is. It's an algae. And it's not supposed to be here. But it is. And it's flourishing. Gross. It's flourishing like crazy. I mean, it is. The waves are green. Now. It's crazy. Tell me that that has nothing to do with what happened in the Gulf. I don't think it does. No, because this has happened before. I think it came off of like a boat.
that was in a different water or like maybe even a bunch of surfboards came off of like a foreign vessel in the water. It came off of something? I think it was algae on like the boat or whatever was on there and brought it here. Yeah. It's a big boat. Ocean experts. And then it's like multiplying or something. I don't know. I don't know what I'm talking about. People have done tests on this water this week because people have been freaking out because especially in like Carlsbad over there, it's extra green and slimy. Yeah, that's where I serve. Oh, my gosh. Yeah, I know they've seen it in La Jolla, too, Black's Beach and stuff. M1, Matt from San Diego. You there, Matt? Yeah, I'm here. What's up? I was actually just calling in because I'm actually on my way down to go surfing right now. Oh, brave man. I just saw that video of the white shark that you guys were talking about, and he's actually not on a paddleboard. He's on a kayak. Oh, he kayaked back out. See, I didn't, I mean, you can't really, you can see the front of it, but you can't tell what it is. It just says he's on a board. Let me tell you. He could be on the USS, you know, Arizona, and I wouldn't be out there next to those sharks. Me either. Couldn't get anywhere near. Are you scared at all right now, going and getting that water? Not really. I mean, the chances of you getting attacked are pretty slim, so it's worth it.
I'm on board. Sharks around here are pretty mellow. Are they? They don't tend to bother me. They smoke a lot of hash around here. So that's why. And that's what this guy, Chuck Patterson, who did this, who got this video, he's knowledgeable of it. He's from here. And he knows that it's a seasonal nursery ground for young sharks. Maybe they'd build a nursery somewhere else. But they prey on small fish. Maybe we set up a giant electric fence about 100 yards off the beach. And then we can serve and not have to worry about it. Wouldn't that be nice? Yes, it would be nice, you know. That's like going camping and thinking that there's not going to be any bears. I know, but that's how I want it. That's right. If they set up a big fence and the waves just came in, you didn't have to worry about anything. How great would that be? You'd just be free, freewheeling. It'd be nice. That would be great. Jay, what prize do we have today for the word of the day? Today we have the LCD sound system. At Remak Arena. All right. If you want to go see LCD Sound System, you've got to be listening for the word of the day. Today's word of the day is shampoo. And will be used sometime between now and 10 o'clock when we get off the air. So when you hear us use the word shampoo in a sentence, you need to be caller number 9 at 570-1949. And you'll win those LCD Sound System tickets. Go see them at Remak. Does everybody know who the baseball baler is? Yes.
We talked about the baseball Baylor the other day. Houston Astros game. They're sitting out in the outfield. Young couple. Baseball gets hit out there. And instead of catching the ball, the dude jumps out of the way and the ball hits his girlfriend. He doesn't protect her. He doesn't stand in front of the ball. Whatever. He doesn't even warn her. Doesn't doesn't warn her. Hey, babe, there's a baseball flying at you. Hurdling at us. Yeah. And or hurling. And it's hurtling, actually. Oh, gosh. No, it's not. Yes, it is. If it's hurtling. Hurdling. Hurdling? It's hurt. It's hurtling. Hurdling is when you jump over those things. Baseball is hurtling at you. Can we bet on it? Yeah. I'll bet you BB. Oh, yes. You're on. They're shaking. They're shaking. If I'm right. She's shaking up the BB guy. If I'm right and it's hurling. A baseball comes hurt. I get to shoot. What if a plane crashes? It comes hurtling through the air. No, you hurdle over. Oh, I know you hurdle over a hurdle. And if something's flying at you, it's hurling at you. No, it is not hurling at you. It's hurdling towards you. Do you guys have bruises on your butts? You don't? I do. I let them shoot me with one BB gun after the show yesterday. I have no bruises. I have a little BB gun bruise on my butt. I took five. That was very satisfying to be able to shoot Laura with a BB gun. She so didn't want to do it. You want to come over here, Woods? Look at the dictionary.com.
I'm looking it up, dude. Hurdling. Hurdling. To hurl, throw an object with great force. They're not throwing it. Look up hurdle. Hurdle. I looked up hurdle. T-L-I-N-G. Oh, boy. Oh, boy. Oh, boy. Hurdling. M-G-R-T-L-I-N-G. We should get M1 Barry on the phone. He knows about words. Move at great speed, typically in a wildly uncontrolled manner. But I think we're going. Yet. Maybe you guys both get hit with a BB gun. You never heard of hurdling through the air? What's the phrase, though? I mean, both the definitions are right, but what's the phrase? The ball was hurtling through the air. Well, according to this dictionary.com, we can both use that. Well, maybe you shoot me, I shoot you. Nice. I think that's fair. I think that's fair. Maybe you could do it right now. Do a draw. Are we set up to do it right now? Like the Wild Wild West. Hey, Jay, are we set up? Yeah, we're all set. You guys come in here, though, and go down the hallway and shoot this way. Done. We can't shoot across people. Done. They're doing it right now. Oh, wow. Oh, wow. Oh, wow. We'll keep the door open. Oh, my gosh. Can you hold the door? Oh, they're going in the hallway right now. Just in case you don't know, we have a BB gun in the studio. Jay is a trained professional. Don't do this at home. Jay, it's a really old gun. It doesn't go that fast. Gun's older than Jay. Although it hurts. Hey, it's easy, Lauren. No, no. He's plenty far. That's plenty far. Here we go. Okay. Mikey's getting hit first. Oh, gosh.
He just got in. We don't have. I feel alive. Mike. Oh, Mike. Oh, please. He just said, owie, owie, oxen free. You ready? Now Mike's walking down the hall to shoot Woods in the butt. I don't trust his aim. Oh, Woods is bent over. Oh, boy. Just waiting. Oh, boy. Oh, my gosh. It stings. Might have gotten in the crevice a little bit. How do you guys feel? Are you awake? Let me just say that all on-air disputes must now be signed. No way. I'm never doing that again. They have to be solved. You guys are tough. They have to be solved with a BB. 100%. I know. L.O.B. was like... She's vehemently against it. Vehemently against the BB. Well, I let you do it, though. I was like, okay, now I'm curious. Yeah.
It doesn't hurt. Real quickly about the baseball hurler. Hurdler. Yeah, I guess we're both right. Whatever. Well, so this couple, right? Uh-huh. Baseball hits the girl, and everybody's giving this guy a hard time. Sienna thought he was a coward. He is a coward. Women want to be protected, right? Women want to be protected. Don't run out on us. True story. And so... We've been talking about this. Well, what's the latest with this couple? They've broken up. Oh, no. They did an interview on the CBS program, the early show. And the girl, Sarah, said that she and her boyfriend, Beau, are going their separate ways. What were they calling him? Beau the Baylor. Go to the Baseball Baylor. They're a young couple. They're early 20s. They'll get back together. I'm sure they will. They're probably already back together. I retract that statement, baby. That's how they talk. Babies. I still love you, baby. Well, the reason for the breakup, she didn't say, but she did specify that it's not because of his cowardly move. It is because of his cowardly move. Yeah, exactly. Lots of records. Okay, so M1 Nation, just want to let you know.

And they're going to play each other in a series this weekend in San Francisco. And as if first place isn't on the line and that wasn't enough, one of the Giants players has given some real good bulletin board material to the Padres. And the Padres, let's just say the Padres are now highly motivated going into San Francisco because of what this Giant has said. I like it. And Woodsy will tell you what it is next. Coming up in just a little bit, we're going to be doing our first coffeehouse cook where we send Woodsy out to a coffeehouse, and he's going to have a Bluetooth in his ear, and he's going to have to repeat whatever I tell him to say. Perfect. What did that Giants player say that has fired the Padres up so much? You're going to find out in Woods on Sports in just a second.
First, we're going to do the movie plot hot potato game. Now, this is pretty cool. Call us right now. You're either going to be picking Jay or Woodsy in the movie plot hot potato game. We've never played this before. Friday the 13th is a good day to try it out. So we're going to give it a shot. Does anybody have a potato? No, I don't know that anybody brought one with them. I think in my purse, I may have one in there, yeah. I have a burrito in my backpack. Of course you do, pal. Of course you do. So here's what we'll do. So the way that the movie plot hot potato game works is it's just like the game Hot Potato. Woods and Jay are going to have 60 seconds, and they're going to go back and forth. They're going to describe to me movie plots, and I've got to guess what they are. So whoever does a better job of describing is going to be the winner because when we get to that 60-second point, Whoever still has their movie in their hand and hasn't been able to describe it to me as the loser. They're stuck with the hot potato. That's right. You don't want to be stuck with the hot potato. So give us a call right now. We have M1 Steve on the line. Are you there, Steve? Yes. Good morning, everybody. Good morning. Good morning. Who would you like? Would you like Woodsy or Jay? Let's go with Woodsy.
Okay, you got Woodsy. Hang on the line. You're going to be sorry. Smart man. And M1, Steven. We have a Steve and a Steven playing each other. Steven, are you there? Yeah, what's up? Not too much, dude. You ready to play this? All right, I'm ready. All right, man. You have Jay. Jay is going to represent you. Okay, can you hold on? Right. All right. So 60 seconds we will put on the timer. hopefully I know what these movies are. I don't know the movies yet, so they're going to do their best to describe the movie to me, and whoever is holding the hot potato at the end of the 60 seconds, meaning they're still describing their movie, loses. Are you ready, guys? Yes. And here we go. Country singer. Old, battered country singer. Crazy heart. They're all blue. They're all blue, and they connect their hair into the flying thing that they're on. Oh, Avatar. Okay, a guy is holding a boombox up. He's in love with this girl. He's in love with this girl. Mikey knows it. He's struggling. Oh, my gosh. He's in a trench coat. Yes. He's holding the boombox up. Come on, clown. Oh, my gosh. Come on, clown. Come on, clown. In your eyes. Yeah. The light, the heat. Your eyes. Oh, my gosh. Mikey's looking at him like, I am so sorry. Second movie. Once he's punching the chair. Next movie. Okay. A bowler loses his arm. He's got a hook for an arm.
He's got a hook for his hand. Oh, no. Oh, my gosh. I'm so sorry, dude. What? Holy cow. Something about Mary. It's the guy that did something about Mary movies. Yes. He's got a hook for an arm. Pin. Pin. Pin. Pinhead. Pin. Pin. Pin. Oh, my God. I am so sorry. Pin. What is it called? Kingpin. Kingpin. And the other one, all I have in my head is life. Say anything. Life? It doesn't have the word life in it. Life? Well, that went well. Wow. It was entertaining. Maybe next time Sienna gets to guess. Absolutely. Since I didn't know everyone. Did you guys know those? Oh, my gosh. Maybe LLB moderates. Oh, my gosh. M1 Steven. Yo, what's going on? Yeah, you win. Great success. Great success. Listen, Woodsy was great at it. I wasn't so great. Not so good. Hook. I wasn't so great. Hook. Maybe Mikey gets a BB. Pinhead. Pinhead. Something about Mary. Something about Mary. That was great. Hang on the line, Steve. Watching his face. Oh, my gosh. That movie just turned my beard gray. My goodness.
Holy cow. Let's do a little Woods on Sports. That's funny. That's greatness. Don't forget tonight is our meet and greets at the Tipsy Crow 5 to 7. Love to see you down there. We'll be wearing skinny jeans. Woods! Woods, Woods, Woods! Woods, Woods, Woods! Woods on Sports! Woods on Sports brought to you by our friends at Clearview Eye and Laser Medical Center. The Chargers are taking on the Bears Saturday night at Qualcomm at 6 p.m. That's the only place you're going to be able to see that game as we talked about yesterday. It is blacked out as of now. North Turner, what's your strategy in the preseason? Cut one. We're going to evaluate. We're going to go meet tonight and talk about playing time and who we want to see and how much we want to see them. It's the first preseason game. I want everyone to get a feel for it. But, you know, we have a long ways to go before we play in the regular season. Yeah, that's a wonderful stating of the obvious. And thank you. Yeah, thank you, Captain Obvious. So the PGA Championship.
Went underway yesterday at Whistling Straits in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. And the leaders right now are Bubba Watson and Francesco Molinari at four under. All eyes, though. Can't just make up names. Like I said, those guys are four under. All eyes yesterday were on Tiger Woods. How did Tiger do? Well, had a little bit of a rebound. Shot a one under 71. He had to have been super relieved. Here he is on his game cut, too. I felt like I had pretty good control of my trajectory again. which was good, especially with being a little bit windy out here. I was able to flight the ball and maneuver it a little bit better than I certainly did last week. Yeah, last week was pretty rough for Mr. Tiger Woods, but he bounced back in a major. The guy's always been pretty nails. He's won a lot of majors, so we'll see how he does. And get your brooms out, because the Padres just finished a sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Great momentum for them. They head to San Francisco. So we told you in the open, kind of... A dumb move by one of the Giants. Guy's name is Jonathan Sanchez. He's a pitcher for the Giants. Pretty good lefty. Well, he says, quote, we're going to play San Diego and we're going to beat them three times. Oh, man. So if I'm a Padre, I'm like, really? Yeah. You take that. You Xerox it. Even though there's no Xerox machines left.
What you do is you mimeograph it. You mimeograph it, and then you put a Morse code, and then you post it up on your bulletin board in your clubhouse, and you let everybody look at it every day and say, oh, look what they're already saying. I love when those other teams say stuff like that. I love it. Here's the cool thing. Sanchez has the ball tonight. So if he doesn't deliver, he's just made he and his entire team look like an idiot. But they won last night, and Ryan Ludwig, who was the guy from the Cardinals that we picked up, had another homer. Here he is on heating up. Cut three. Great team effort. I mean, huge series to be able to sweep. Going into San Francisco, and now we have a big series in front of us. A lot of excitement. Yeah, do it up. It's exciting, man. It's going to be. This is one of those things where, you know, if you're a baseball fan and it's middle of August and you're in it and you're two and a half games up and you go in to play the guys that are two and a half behind you, how much fun is that going to be to watch and to play in and to be there for? I love it. Also, there were some NFL games last night. The Raiders beat the Cowboys 17-9. Patriots over the world champion Saints 27-24. And the Ravens beat my boy Jimmy Clawson and the Panthers 17-12. I heard Jimmy Clawson looked good, though. He looked okay. He threw a pick, but the guy fell down, fell flat on his butt when he was running a route. So, the guy right in the hands. But he looked okay, man. You know, for his first game out there, that's...
A little faster game than it was at Old NB, that's for sure. And that's what's on sports. So the panel is where we talk about the news of the day, what's going on in the world, and we get 20 seconds to talk about it, just like the show. Pardon the interruption. And what we do is... Around the horn. Is it around the horn? Anyway. Every time. 570-1949. Give us a call. And if you want to chime in about any of these topics, we get 20 seconds. That's it on the panel. All right? The topics today are... And I can't wait to hear what this is. What is Twitter's new button that people are talking about? Now, I have to read this to you because I'm not the best tweeter. Maybe LOB can describe it. Okay, Twitter yesterday introduced a new... tweet button that websites can put next to their content. Now basically it allows Twitter users to more easily share what they're reading at the site without having to copy and paste a link. Right. Because 25% of tweets contain internet links so it's an easier way to post what you're trying to do. Clicking the tweet button creates a shortened link that appears in a pop-up box tied to the Twitter user's account and a comment can be added next to the link. Are you following? Yeah.
You have to be a Twitterer, like, to really get it. That's why I'm like, I don't know. Yeah. I don't understand it. But I know when we get to LLB, she's going to help us out with it and what she thinks about it. You've used it. I thought you said you liked it before the show. I thought it was something else. Oh, you did? Yep. Oh, wow. Woods. Yeah, hi. Do you use Twitter? Yeah. Do you like it? You know that. It's okay. It kind of looks like Mandarin Chinese to me a lot. There's a lot of pounds and hats and things like that that I don't really know how to do. But I try to tweet to our fans and tell them what I'm up to. Who do you like to follow? I follow a lot of athletes. I follow a lot of bands. I follow a lot of clowns. Scott Baio is a personal favorite of mine. He fillets people on there. So if you're not following real Scott Baio, you need to do that. It's hysterical. I want to. It's funny. Well, you'd have to log on. I tried to the other day, and I didn't remember my password. Lauren, now I'm interested. What did you think it was? Okay, I saw a new little button on there last night that I didn't recognize, and that's what I thought it was. Okay.
But I like this idea because I always go to some website to shorten it, and I always have to Google Twitter link to know what the site is because I always forget what it's called. And I thought, I like to leave little funny stuff before it instead of just putting up a link because I wouldn't click on someone's random link. Who's your favorite people to follow? Conan O'Brien's probably my favorite. Who else? Kevin Nealon, Whitney Cummings. Who's that? She's a female comedian. You know, I don't tweet as much as I should. You know, I should be doing it more. And I like the idea of it. I like it. And I'm interested in even the mundane things, I guess. Because when I read that somebody's eating a piece of American cheese.
It's interesting to me. I use Twitter more than Facebook now. You do? I do not. I do not. See, I'll be on Facebook all day, not Twitter. I'll be on Facebook for hours. Twitter allows me to just put it up, set it, and forget it. Less interaction. This may summarize the new tweet button a little bit better. They're saying it's an official option for web publishers to count retweets and let their readers easily share content. Got it. What's the new Streak tablet from Dell? This is competition for Apple's iPad, iTouch, and iPhone. It's not, because I think even they know it's not. Yesterday, they announced that it went on pre-sale. It's the Dell Streak tablet smartphone. They're saying it's a replacement to the iPad. Although it does work as a phone, it costs $300 with a two-year AT&T contract or $550 without a contract. It's a five-inch touchscreen, which is not as big as the iPad. It works as a cell phone as well, like I said, and comes with Google's Android 1.6 mobile operating system. Woods is holding a giant, almost piece of paper-sized... Hello? Yes? It's ridiculous. Yeah. Who wants to talk on a phone that big? I don't know. I'll see you in an hour.
It's $50 more expensive than the cheapest iPad, and that's if you buy it without the AT&T contract. That screen is only half as large as the iPad. I mean, it doesn't compete. I'm sorry. Woods, would you ever have a use for a tablet? No. I mean, you know, the thing with, like, it's sad because Mikey's turned me into an Apple guy, too, and Dell comes out with something, and you're like, oh, they're trying. It's a little too late, buddy. But I, you know, my wife has a Dell computer and an Apple. And I look at that Dell and it looks like an old giant rock with a hole in it. That's the first wheel. You know, it really does. Yeah, for sure. Oh, and that's what you guys use and you can't stand it. Yeah, I have a shout out. To Jeremy that works in the building who thinks that clowns use Macs. Really? I have a Dell for work and I have a Mac at home. And this thing poops out on me all the time. That Dell. It freezes constantly. I would never trust a tablet made by Dell. Then again, I'd never buy an iPad. Yeah. Well, so, L.O.B., you have no use for any tablet of any kind, right? I have a broken BlackBerry.
Yeah. I don't care about that stuff. You're not interested. No. Pulled up next to L.O.B. yesterday on the freeway. Yeah. Why don't you tell everybody about your hands free? Okay. Well, you want to know where I went yesterday after I talked to you? Where? Verizon. And I got a little headset. You do. I drive with a stiff arm out, left hand, left arm. Gangsta. Gangsta. And I put my phone right here. And balance it on your bicep. And it's hands-free. I'm like, yeah, uh-huh, uh-huh, driving. What if you have to turn? Yeah. It's like a clown. If you turn, you just balance one arm and you bring the other arm up. Yeah, I do. I let go of this one and go like this. Oh, my God. She wouldn't look over at me. Okay, I looked over, and Mikey's windows are tinted, so I was like, creep. And then I kept talking on the phone, so I was in a very heated conversation. Oh, my God. So then I got... So I drove to the other side. Oh, wow. Oh, no. Really? Yeah. But she couldn't see me there because her bicep was up. Right. Blocking her vision. Blocking her peripheral vision. Big gun, you know. Yeah. Big gun with a phone on it. And yeah, of course, the dough tablet isn't going to. I mean, what's the point? You don't even need to say anything, Mike. I think we all know. Yeah, of course. You know what my feeling is on that. All right. So Woodsy has left. And the reason that he has is because he's going to be doing the coffeehouse kook.
He's going to go to a coffee house and he's going to put a Bluetooth in his ear. And he's going to have to repeat everything I tell him to say. And it should be a lot of fun. Don't forget the word of the day today is shampoo. So when you hear me use the word shampoo in a sentence, you've got to be calling number 9-570-1949 when you hear shampoo. And you'll get to go see LCD Sound System at Remac Arena. Meet and greet tonight. Be wearing skinny jeans. It's going to really be fun. Lauren had a waxing appointment yesterday. And she says that made her remember a funny story. Uh-oh. She never forgets a face, she says. I don't. She doesn't forget anything. She really doesn't. You don't forget anything. Like an elephant. I know. And what happened? Well, I remembered when I was waiting tables like a little over a year ago, I had this regular that would come in like. three or four times a day or a week for lunch. And he came in on a Saturday and he said, oh, this is my girlfriend. And I'm looking at her and I was like, oh, man, I know you from somewhere. So we went back and forth for a couple minutes. Did you work here? Did you work there? And I go, I got it. You used to wax up at the... Oh, wow. And she goes, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And then me, her and her boyfriend were all like... All right. So do you guys need more Diet Coke? Wow.
That's a little uncomfortable. That's a little awkward. She's like, yeah, usually I only recognize you by your bikini line. Yeah. Gross. Coffeehouse Coop is coming up. This is going to be phenomenal. It's the first time ever. It's our maiden voyage. So we're going to put Woods in a coffeehouse and he'll have to repeat everything I say to him. Out loud in front of everyone. And it's not going to be crowded or anything. No. It's only 7 o'clock in the morning. It's not early in the morning. Coffee place. So we'll do that next. God, it's better than I thought. Welcome back. It's a Mikey show with a live studio audience. We got a room full of people. Studio full of people. And let me introduce the show real quick. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show. Woodsy is our sports guy. Lauren is our assistant producer. Sienna is our news girl. Jay is our producer. And our phone screener is Krabs. So I want to let people know that we are going to have a comedian in the studio in a little bit. Her name is Natasha Leggero.
And she'll be in the studio in the 8 o'clock hour. Also, thank you to Surf Ride who donated our skinny jeans. They hooked it up with some cool stuff. Thank you, Surf Ride. Yeah, they are good. And they donated some skinny jeans for all the guys to wear tonight. Fedora hats, some shirts, the whole deal. And so we're going to be wearing that tonight. And it is time for our first Coffeehouse Kook. On the phone right now with a Bluetooth in his ear is Woodsy. Woodsy, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. He is at a coffee house, and you have to repeat everything that I say. Are you out front of the coffee house or are you inside the coffee house? I'm out front. You're out front? Yep. Long line inside or no? No. All right, let's go ahead and go into the coffee house. All right. And let me know when you're inside. Inside. Okay. And we will start now. So everything I say, you repeat after me. You ready? Daddy is tired this morning. He is tired this morning. Louder, louder. Maybe yell it. Morning. You know what really chaps my hide? A flame about three feet high. You know what really chaps my hide? Good morning. You know what really chaps my hide? A flame about three feet high. A flame about three feet high.
I'm going to have a grande caramel macchiato. Don't you wimp out on me. You keep going. I'm so thirsty right now. I could drink myself. I'm so thirsty. I could drink myself. Those coffee cakes look good. Do what? Those coffee cakes. Those coffee cakes look good. Those coffee cakes look good. You know what I really want, though? You know what I really want? A Cosmo. A Cosmo. That's what I give you right now. I know. It's a little early, but you know. I mean the magazine. I meant the magazine. Thank you. By the way, I'm Team Edward. Team Edward, by the way. Looks like I picked the wrong day to quit Metamucil. Really? Yes. Looks like I picked the wrong day to quit Metamucil. Looks like I picked the wrong day to quit Metamucil. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, poor guy. Do I look like I have a lazy eye? Do I look like I have a lazy eye? Did he say, do I look like I have a lazy eye? No. Am I? Oh, all right. I don't have any bats hanging, do I? Oh, no. There's no bats in the cave or anything. There's no bats in the cave or anything. All right. Good to go. You're good. You're good. Off to a great start today. Are you done? Yep.
Are you out of there? Nope. You're still standing? Are you still standing there? As far as you know. I want to tell him so many things to just yell. You can't yell him. You can't yell him. Why not? Yeah, because you get kicked out of there. What about like TGIF? Yeah, TGIF. Give me a loud TGIF. TGIF, you guys. Better luck next time, huh? Second time, huh? Are you done, Woods? Sure. Good job, pal. Good job. I love it. That's great. Come back in here. Come back in here. Holy cow. I know him so well. That was killing him. Oh, yeah. I don't know how he could listen to you and listen to the person at the same time. I know it. I couldn't do both. It's hard to hear something in your ear. I want him to yell.
Are there any bats in the case? Well, he's looking right at the person, right? People would think he's nuts. That's fantastic. Hey, so Lauren told a story yesterday and I am going to attempt to ask her for permission on the air without looking at her. Which story did I tell? If we can discuss it. Because if I look at her, she may give me a look like I don't want to talk about that. It's too late now. I'm going to look at you, Sienna, and I'm going to ask Lauren if we can talk about it. When she went to the person's house and the person had a picture in their house? I can talk about that. Okay, good. So I went to dinner the other night. And my friend, she's super into yoga and stuff. So she has pictures of herself naked. Go on. Oh, wow. In yoga poses on the wall. And they're like... Pretty tasteful, black and white pictures, but... Downward dog? Yep. Whoa. No! Yeah. Wait, wait, what do you see? Boob? Yes. Wow. Boob, including nipple. Can I say it on the radio? Yeah, you just said. Okay. Can you see the down below bits? No, that part's kind of shaded and like... Shadowed? Yeah, exactly. Question. Yes. That makes my mouth water. Okay. My question is, why?
I think it was one of those, I think it was twofold. While you got it, flaunt it. She's a beautiful girl. Yeah. She's got a beautiful body. Yeah. And she's, it's art. Yeah. Right? Yeah. I mean. She's saying art is beautiful. She's got a friend that's a photographer. Well, so I brought my other friend with me. She was not comfortable with it at all. How did she let you know? She pinched my arm. and was like, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh. And I was like, okay, okay, loud whisperer. You know what I would have done? Yeah, exactly. That's like what Woods, I'm like, Woods is the loudest whisperer I know. And she's like, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God. And I'm like, oh, do you guys, did you, when did you get this vase in the hallway here? And I'm like elbowing her. How many? Yeah. Approximately. It's either four or five part series. They're all up on the wall. Yeah. And it's different poses. And they're black and white. Yeah. And she's super flexible. So it's like, they look cool. They really do. They look cool. Like, and I didn't actually really think anything. I was a little bit like, whoa, there's your nipple. But like, I wasn't, I don't know. I know her. Do you think that she is uncomfortable when male friends come over?
I would think. Not, I guess. If you're down to put naked pictures of yourself in your house, you have to know the mailman's going to probably see it. She's a very confident person and very like... See, my nude photos of me are all color. Right. And so when you walk in, they're all there in sort of a mosaic. Well, I have so many nude pictures that we just put them in a mosaic to form like Marilyn Monroe. Right. Yes, exactly. It's Marilyn Monroe with her dress blowing up. But when you look closely, you realize, oh, it's all color photos of Mikey nude. Right. Oh, my. Yeah. See, I mean, and honestly, when you walked in and that was the first time you had seen these pictures, were you warned? I knew she was doing them. I didn't, I thought it was going to be, she was like, oh yeah, it's going to be really tasteful and like shadowed and stuff like that. And I at first was kind of a little bit like, oh, okay. But then when I saw them, I think I thought I was going to see more than I was going to. I didn't think, I thought that for some reason that the nipple would be like airbrushed out or something. I wish that I had, you know, I'm not really the photograph naked type, but I wish that I were confident enough in my body that I could do something like that. I mean, I'm not the type, but I still wouldn't.
Well, I've seen them enough times that I think I even just kind of, like, forget that they're her. Like, it's just almost like a picture of, like, a flower on the wall. I've been over there so many times. My friend was not comfortable with it. And then we got to talking about just how that, like, photo shoot went down. You know what I mean? Because you have to be like, hold on. And then, like, you know. Yeah, who took the pictures? A friend of ours. A guy friend. A guy friend. Lucky. Really? But you have to, like, I mean. It's not the most graceful thing to get into those positions. And he would have to be like, oh, wait, you have to scoot and maybe even possibly move her. I don't know. We didn't talk about how it went down. If you ever went to this girl's house again, would you bring a boyfriend? Oh. Like, I don't think I would want to. I'd be like, oh, I don't need my boyfriend or husband. Maybe bring a friend with you. Maybe the producer of the Mikey show. Wouldn't that be weird, though? That's uncomfortable. You would not. You would not take a boyfriend. I was saying not a chance with Jay because he'd be inappropriate. I don't know. I guess with a boyfriend, I would be trying to get a gauge. I don't know. We're talking about naked photos. Oh, wow. Look at his hands.
Was that hard? Yeah, dude. It was? Oh, man. You sounded nervous. Oh, I was beyond nervous. They were looking at me like, this guy's on crack. Oh, my gosh. You asked if you had a bat in the cave. Yeah, I go, do I have any bats in the cave? Was it hard to listen to us and listen to them? And, you know, it was hard to answer questions because I'm sitting there and I'm like, yep, yep. And they're looking at me and I'm like, oh. Oh, man. Was Chris in there with you? No, he stayed in the car. Oh, my gosh. Solo. But a listener, I was standing out front waiting, and a guy pulls up, and he goes, coffeehouse kook. That's great. So he stayed in there the whole time, and he was over on the other end, and he was like. That's so great. So I saw him laughing, and I was like, do I have any bats in my cage? Oh, dude. He was probably like this. Do I have a lazy eye? Really? Do I have a lazy eye? She goes. No, you're good. Did you guys hear them? Sometimes. What did the girl say when you said that you wanted a Cosmo? She's like, me too. I meant the magazine.
You did good, bud. I wish I could have seen it. It was great. Next time we bring a video camera. You know, I'll get better as we go. Oh, I can be mad props. It doesn't have to be just the coffee house. There can be all kinds of places. Did you hear what we were talking to LOB about? Just a little bit. Her friend, she took a girlfriend over to another girlfriend's house, walked in, and there was pictures of this girlfriend of hers, the house that they went to, nude, black and whites, like artsy. On the wall. Doing yoga. Sold. Yeah. Now, L.O.B. doesn't bother you at all. Didn't make you uncomfortable. No, but I hadn't thought about the whole, I guess I've never brought a guy over there, but I'd probably watch and see if he looked a little too long. Of course he's going to look too long. I don't know. Were they framed? Yeah. Oh, yeah. Because did she frame them herself or did she walk into Michael's and go, yeah, how much to get this one done, this one done, and this one done? I don't know. They're very, I mean, they're matted and framed. They're very nice. Because, I mean, that's not an easy thing to do.
I mean, but I guess if you're comfortable enough putting them on your wall, you're probably comfortable enough giving them to the dude at Michael's. The guy that took them, if he was a photographer, because he could probably do it. Well, he processed them, and I don't know if he mad at them or what. I went to a buddy's house, and we were in his garage getting ready to go on a bike ride. And I'm looking around his garage. He's got all kinds of cool tools. And I look over, and there's this picture. And this girl's in like these see-through lingerie. And I'm getting real up close, you know, looking, checking it out. Weird. Doing what I do. Weird. And I'm looking at it closer, closer. And he goes, yeah, that's my wife. I was like, oh, my gosh. He didn't care that you were looking at it? No. He had it in his garage for everybody to look at. It's a trophy. It's a trophy. It's a trophy room. That is awkward. Maybe keep it in your office. Absolutely. Keep it in your bedroom. Yeah, maybe keep it in your bedroom. Keep it in your wallet. I know. In your wallet. I don't know. I'd be comfortable without even my wallet. I don't know. Steals your wallet and you got a picture of your naked wife in there? I guarantee if Woods would have come with me to my friend's house, and I probably wouldn't have even thought about it because I've just blocked it out, he would have done what my friend did. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, yeah. I would have been like, whoa, whoa, whoa. But loud. Wow. She was loud. Hello, hello, hello, hello. You know me. I'm inquisitive. So I would have gone, is this you? You would have. I would have.
And she would say, yeah. And I would go, that's fascinating. Where did you do that? And she's the type of person that would sit there with you and go, oh, yeah. And point out things and go, right here, what I'm doing here. See, it was a little cold this day, as you can tell. She really would. And she'd be like, you know, you could get this done, too. Like, she would. She is. Was this uncomfortable to do? She would be like this. Really big-eyed. Why would it be uncomfortable? Oh, wow. That's natural. I think that's awesome that she could do it. Oh, yeah. She's got cojones. I would play it off if I saw it and was surprised. I'd be like... I wouldn't say anything. But the second we got in the car and got out of there, I'd be like, oh, my God. Did you see those pictures? Yeah. I was staring at them the whole time. I'm so self-conscious. Oh, I could never do it. I haven't heard a word that any of you have said in the last five minutes. Because you're just focusing on that. Not one word. You're still in that coffee house right now? Yeah. You're still there. I left my spirit there. You spun out. Yeah.
I can't wait to do it again. I'm sweating. What was the scariest thing? What were you so afraid of? There's a person standing in front of him while he says Team Edward. There's three girls behind me. There's three girls behind the counter, and they're looking at me like, this dude is a lunatic. And I'm like, oh, Team Edward, by the way. And she goes, ha, ha, ha. Oh, so then you guys heard what I ordered. What's your order? Caramel macchiato. Red seal, that thing you've ever had. Ever. They ran out of macchiato. It took them 15 minutes. I was like, oh my God, just where's my drink? Where's my drink? If I had heard that they had run out of macchiato, I would have had you say, just throw Ralph Macchiato in there and I'll be fine. Macchio? Yeah. Just throw Ralph Macchio in there. It'll do the same thing for me. Holy crap. Well, there's a dry cleaner next door, which could be a lot of fun. Yeah. Dry cleaner cook? Yeah. Yeah. It'll be genius. We'll send you all over the place. I'll go. As we were having that discussion, I looked over at Woods and his eyes were glassy. Yeah, just glazed. Yeah, from doing what he had just done. Good thing. You did good. 570-194-9 is our phone number. Give us a call if you've ever walked into a friend's house and seen something that was really embarrassing like that. Naked pics? Yeah. I'm sure. Because people do it, man. People are into that.
My mom had this picture growing up that she got from my dad for like their anniversary or something. She's in like a flapper dress. Oh my gosh. It's in one of those like old time photos. You know what I mean? And she's in like, she's got like a bottle of Jack Daniels and she's in a flapper dress across a bar and it's downstairs and my dad's like on his bar framed. Everybody, I think everybody in there, when you were growing up, when you were growing up, you probably had a picture in your house that was just embarrassing. Oh, yes. Well, I went with my mom to the photo shoot. So at the time, it was like in the mall. They did a shoot? They didn't do it at like Six Flags or something? No, it was in the mall. And she had like fishnet stockings and like a carter belt. I know. When I was a kid, I was like, how cool. And mom's playing dress up. And you did. And now like when I brought like boyfriends over and like college friends back, I'm like. Mom. Don't look at that. Yeah. Yep. My mom is.
like your friend. She would have put pictures of her naked in the house. In fact, there was one still in my house right now in a frame. Boudoir? No, she's not naked. Oh, my brother can vouch for me on this when he's in the studio. He's like, don't say it to you. No, she's in the bath and she's like the baby and you see some boob and there's bubbles. Which baby? I don't know if it was me or my brother. You know what I'm talking about, Taylor? It's terrifying. It's up on the wall in a frame, and you see a little boob, and I'm like, Mom, does this need to be on the wall for everyone to see? And she's like, it's just a body, Sienna. Maybe you bring it in. Let us have it. Yeah, weird. M1 Blue Fig from San Diego. You there? Yes. Go ahead. All right, so my second day at work, this had been a couple years ago. I came into work, and my boss was like, hey, why don't you go wait in my office? I'm like, oh, no problem. It's a pretty small company. So I walk in there, and I'm waiting for him. He has a couple shelves with some knickknacks and everything. So I'm looking at all of his achievements and his knickknacks, and I get to a photo of his wife naked. Completely nude. Completely nude. I mean, I forget what type of photography it's called, but...
It's called nude photography. Nude photography is the name you're looking for. It's called nudie photos. And as soon as I, it just happens to be as soon as I get to that photo, which is like one of the last photos, he comes in and he's like, hey, you looking at my wife? Oh, boy. Yeah. He can tell by your face. He just froze like a deer in headlights. It was so awkward. It was so awkward. He probably does that to everybody. Oh, yeah. It's his bit, yeah. Yeah, it's his bit. He waits until he knows you're over there, and then he walks in and he goes, what are you doing, you pervert? Yeah. Thank you, Blue Fig. M1AJ from Ramona, you there? Hey, Mikey, how's it going? Good, man. Yeah, I got one, actually. It's not a friend. My job requires me to go into strangers' houses for inspections. Uh-huh. And every now and then, there'll be, like, a nude photo of, you know, someone's wife. Well, that's kind of weird, but the worst one was I did this one house, and I guess they had their daughter and her husband or boyfriend living with them. So I went down to their basement crawl space area, which the homeowner, the guy, he was like, oh, I never go in there. So I get in there, and then right in the door, to the right, I guess, is the young guy's little personal collection. Oh, boy. And there's photos of the guy that's standing right outside his daughter. Oh.
And so, like, his daughter is, like, news photos of his daughter, like, right there to my right. So he doesn't even know. He doesn't know they're there. He's like, I've never even been in there. And so I'm assuming it's this young guy. So I come back down. He's like, hey, is there anything I need to know about in there? I'm like, no. Oh, my gosh. In fact, don't ever look in there ever. Yeah. Don't walk near that room. In fact, you might consider boarding this room up. Yeah, my wife will board it up. You said I'd never go in there ever. Oh, my gosh. He's like, oh, I wanted to show you one thing. I'm like, no, no, no, no. It's okay. Yeah. Oh, God. Oh, my God. So uncomfortable. If this guy comes in here and sees these, what is he going to say to me? Yeah, yeah. I'd be like, hey, she's pretty hot. Yeah. That's my daughter. Good job. I don't know. Weird. Thank you, AJ. Wow. M1 Sean from Kearney Mesa. Yeah, this is kind of the same deal as the other guy. I do a lot of construction. I went to a customer's house. Had to use the restroom when I was working on one of the other bathrooms. So I went to the master bathroom, opened the door, and there's a full-size statue of a man that was very graphic right there next to the toilet. A statue next to the toilet? Weird. That's classic. Well, I'm just trying. And see, for me, it's like the psychology of, you know, not only do I want that, but I think I want it for the bathroom. We'll compare.
You know what, babe? I was thinking about it, and I think that we should get a full-size male statue nude to put in the bathroom. I'm not sure, but I think that that would look really good in there. And I want it to be really graphic. Yeah, I want it to be super graphic. As detailed as possible. Yeah, she's like, well, like, what are we talking here? Are we talking like, you know, some sort of Leonardo da Vinci? No. No, I'm thinking more of, like, the guy from General Hospital. Oh, my God. Nude. A wax statue. Like a wax, yes. Ew. I think of the wax museum of, like, Alan Hale, the guy that played the skipper on Gilligan's Island. And have him just nude in the bathroom. Maybe Burt Reynolds. Maybe Burt Reynolds, circa Cannonball Run, and just put it in the bathroom next to the toilet. Weird. Genius. Thank you. M1 Jessica from Chula Vista, you there? Yes, hi, I'm here. What did you see? Well, okay, no, I didn't see it. My husband, he does floor houses, and then so he went to a customer's house and starts on flooring, right, on a bathroom. So from the moment that he walks in the house, this house is up in Hillsborough. So from the moment that he walks in the house, he's seeing pictures of...
Oh, you don't even have to say anymore. I think I know what you mean. And see, what's so great about it is that the person that lives there, to them, it's like their refrigerator. There's no big deal. But you're like, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh. Be cool, be cool. Be cool, be cool, be cool. Would anybody like to hear an elderly Asian man angrily singing Carrie Underwood's Before He Cheats? Wow. Yes. Me too. So we will play you that audio when we come back. Is the Mikey Show. I like it. It's blocking the number one in three lanes. They've got an ambulance on the scene. The 805 northbound University Avenue, we've got a wood fencing, a bunch of it, that's all over the roadway after it came off this truck. The truck actually saw it come off, but he kept going, and now it's scattered all across lanes. Don't let a bad battery unexpectedly leave you stranded in the heat. This is Bird and Dragon Eyewear with the FM 94.9 Authentic Surf Report for a Friday morning brought to you by Guayaki Yerba Mate. Looking real weak and bleak out there today, kids. Real small little dribble out of the southwest, a touch of west-northwest windswell mixing in with it. Even that combination isn't much better than able to give us an ankle-to-knee-high surf, maybe a waist-out wave on a rare occasion. And again, we've got overcast skies of greech in the morning. Looks like it'll burn off relatively quickly, but today we've got a pesky northwesterly wind putting a crumble on that already small surf. And we had a negative tide earlier this morning. So really, at this particular time, all systems mean no go. For up-to-the-minute surf reports, forecasts, go to surfline.com for everything you need in order to go surf. I don't like rain, I like sunshine. Lauren. If you don't use it, you lose it. Woods. I got one word for you, dude. Git. Sienna. I was a really good student. And Jay. I'm a romantic, so sue me. On FM 94.9. Welcome back, it's the Mikey Show.
Sienna, what's going on in news? Well, today President Obama is signing a bill that provides $600 million in emergency funding to help secure the U.S.-Mexico border. Some of the things the bill provides is about 1,500 new law enforcement agents, new unmanned aerial vehicles, new forwarding operating bases, and $14 million in new communications equipment. Actually, starting yesterday, the first wave of National Guard troops arrived in San Diego to be guarding the U.S.-Mexico border. Oh, wow. Also, you guys familiar with the Kathy comic strip? Yes. Been around for 34 years. Wow, really? Well, it's coming to an end, yes. The creator and writer says she wants to spend more time with her family. Who, Kathy? Yeah. Apparently. I think it is Kathy. I don't know. Yeah, her name is Kathy. Guess what? Look at that, Woodsy. How ironic. Amazing. Well, the last Kathy comic, if you are a fan, is going to be on October 3rd. We'll look forward to that. The Padres will be taking on their rival San Francisco Giants tonight. Clayton Richard against Jonathan the Big Mouth Sanchez at 7-15 up in San Francisco. And the Mets have suspended Francisco Rodriguez for beating the crap out of his girlfriend's father. Punched him in the face, slammed his head against the wall.
Very stable young man. Do we know why that happened? It's not the first time he's done something similar. He's kind of a head case. They've suspended him, and he's going to be in a little bit of trouble, I imagine. Oh, Team Edward, by the way. Team Edward. We've got a comedian coming in the studio at 8 o'clock, Natasha Leggero. I have two female comedians in the studio. She's much, much, much better than me. You guys should have a joke. No, I'd lose. I saw the look on your face. You're ridiculous. You're ridiculous. You're ridiculous. Hey, this is cool. Listen to this. A Mikey show. My family has a history of heart disease. Last year, I had a bit of a scare, was advised to exercise more. I started running and finally grew to enjoy it. Thanks to L.O.B.'s podcasting. You guys keep my focus off the pain. I call this training program P. Mikey X.
This Sunday, the 15th, I'm running my first half marathon. AFC. That's right. Since I'm short and taking twice as many steps, I'm really running a full marathon. He says, I'm going to turn off my radio. I'm going to turn my radio off on Friday the 13th. That's today. And save the fresh podcast for all 13.1 miles on Sunday. Nice. Maybe you guys can give me a shout out around the 7.30 a.m. mark to give these little legs a spark to make it through the last few miles. So that's what we're doing for him right now. Looking forward to getting amped up for the start with some big shig, shigitty schwa. Shiggity shwa. Shiggity shiggity shwa. Shiggity shiggity shwa. Shiggity shiggity shwa. I'm burgundy over there. I didn't understand it. Shiggity shwig. Maybe give him a little Woods on Sports to get him going, dude. We just, yeah. You know, like the music. Oh, the music? Oh, like Eye of the Tiger? You know? Hey, listen. Maybe not. If that mouse was charged up, I could. That was my pump-up song during the half marathon. Oh, Eye of the Tiger? Eye of the Tiger.
I was like, really? Good luck. That, by the way, was M1 Wheat Thicks. That's our boy. M1 Wheat Thicks. Go get them. We love you. Go get them, man. Keep going. Go for the gold. Run. Run. I can never run. No, dude. I couldn't run 12 sprints of 25 yards each. No way. Never. I can't drive a half marathon. There's no way. Write that down. I call that bull talk for a one-eyed fat man. Thank you. So this is a elderly Asian guy singing karaoke. Now, this guy, just so you know, as you listen to it, he's going to sing Carrie Underwood's song before he cheats. Okay, the thing about carving her name into the side. It's a great karaoke song. Sure. Now, what he did was, as a lot of us do when we do karaoke or when we sing a song, try to get into the mindset of the lyrics. Now, where is Carrie Underwood?
When she's singing that song, she's angry. She's angry. Angry. She's mad. Furious. Oh, yeah. She's kicking things over. Right. So that's where he's trying to get as he sings this song. And this is a elderly Asian guy singing karaoke. Right now, he's crawling slow, danceless. He's going to get frisky. Right now, he's crawling by his little drink, little fruity drink. Cushy, cashews, whiskey. Right now, he's probably up behind her with a full six. Now he's a combo. Oh, wow, wow, wow, wow. Oh, my God. Okay, well, that's... He's really getting into character. Yes, he's getting out. Yes, yes, yes. Oh, my God. Yes.
Maybe he'll think next time before he sings. How about that? That's right. Maybe she changed it to she. Oh, I know. I knew how to quit you. Wow. He gets after it. If you were sitting there at a karaoke bar and that guy got up, I think I would run out afraid. Whenever he would accidentally make eye contact with me, I would just take my glass and fold it up. Cheers. Keep kicking ass up there, man. Go get him. Do what you gotta do. Get after it. Off on the melody. He's up on everything. I don't know if you auto-tuned it, it probably will. I want to fall asleep to the song every night. Four-wheel drive into the leather seats.
You get the idea. Wow. Absolutely. I think you get the idea. Holy cow, dude. Of what was going on there. Guy's real good. Oh, my gosh. That was great. Hey, Woods. Yes. Speaking of music, I'm going to enlist you and me in a band together. We're going to start a band? Yeah, this weekend. This weekend. Hoyle, do you have any experience with being in a band? Yes, I do. Oh, really? Yeah. And I used to play a backup tambourine for a country and western outfit. As opposed to the lead tambourine? It was only when he was sick. You also grew up in the choir, though, because you used to run with choir gangs. I did. Choir gangs. But I'm going to start a rap group this weekend, and you are going to be my partner. The reason is because I've seen you on the axe. You're good. Yeah, okay. So we're going to work some stuff out. Am I going to rap, too? Yeah, you're going to rap with me. You're going to rap with a guitar? Yeah. Well, that's what we're going to do. We're going to fix our stuff in the beat laboratory with the guitar. Well, I guess Outkast, they play guitars and stuff in there, and they do rap, so they're pretty good. You know them, Hoyle? Yes, I do. Okay. Do I? I mean, here's the deal, man. I've been hanging out with my brother-in-law. He's been in town and kind of feeling the urge to get back in music. I wasn't really thinking about rap, per se.
Well, would you like to join Hoyle and Vinegar? Oh, my God. Hoyle and Vinegar? It's happening above your grill. Yes, it is. Would Woods be Vinegar? So, I guess I'm Vinegar. You are Vinegar. Hoyle and Vinegar. Yes, Hoyle and Vinegar. Hey, Vinegar. Oh, my gosh. Salt and pepper. Do you play basketball? Yeah, I'm okay. Because we're going to go into the inner city this weekend, and we're going to pick up some pickup games. Really? Can you play? Oh, I'm a baller. I didn't ask that. I asked if you could play. And we're going to win some money. Are you going to hose people? Yeah, we are. How long did it take you to come up with oil and vinegar? Ten and a half weeks. You tried a few other combos? Yeah.
I did, but I was going to go with oil slick. That was going to be one of them. But I was like, no, that won't work right now with what's going on with BP. Right. Oil and water. Oil and water. And I finally came up with oil and vinegar. And I said the whole time, Steve Wood's going to get out there with me and we're going to knock it out of the park. I'll be vinegar. Yeah. All right. You're also going to be a small forward this weekend. Now, with the money that we make. We're going to open up a recording studio, Beat Laboratory. Oh, wow. All the way in. How much money are you going to make this weekend? $455, if it's anything like last weekend. Oh, wow. Well, you're a hustler, aren't you? I am a hustler, and I'm also a basketball player. Thank you. Have you ever made a basket? Have I ever made a basket? You're not the tallest. You're not tall. The Pope poop in the woods? I don't know about that. I don't think so. He poops on a toilet. It's not the joke. There's a bear. Yeah, a bear. Bear does. I get my jokes backwards sometimes. I can tell. Hey, I'm ready to jam, so we'll wrap together. We're not going to wrap off anymore. We're not going to wrap against each other. We're going to join forces. Yeah, this weekend we get together, we ride a little bit, and then we're going to try to get inner city. Play for the people next week. Yeah, I'd really like to hear that on Monday, what you guys come up with. Would y'all like to hear on Monday what we put together? I would love it. People here in the studio, would you like that? Oil and vinegar. Oil and vinegar. Productions. We'll work it out.
We got an email here that I want to see what everybody thinks about. This was something that we got earlier in the week. We were going to read earlier in the week, and we just didn't get to it. It says, Mikey, wanted to see if you guys had any advice to offer in a situation I have with my husband. I love my consulting job and was just recently offered full-time work if I want it. Right now, I'm only working 20 hours a week, so my husband tells me that he doesn't want me. to take the hours because right now he only works about 20 to 25 hours as well. And he wants us to be able to spend time together. We both get paid well for what we do in our jobs and we've been fortunate enough to live comfortably doing part-time work. She says, don't get me wrong. I love that we've been able to spend so much time together the last few years, but I'm 32 years old and I think we should start saving. He's telling me that life is too short. We're getting along just fine. His philosophy is that you should work to live, not live to work. Am I crazy for wanting to work more? Or should I just appreciate that I have a husband that wants to spend so much time with me? Thanks in advance, M1, Carrie Bear. This is a strange situation. I've never heard of this situation. Where the guy wants her...
To not work so much so that they can hang out. I mean, that's awesome. Yeah. Every wife or girlfriend should want that, you know? Yeah. But. I don't know. I mean, if it's me, I'm going, hey, maybe you get something to do. I mean, you know what I mean? She's got a job. Yeah. And something that she really enjoys. Yeah. And maybe you. Make it right, pal. Yeah. And, you know, you can still spend time together even with a full-time job. How much time do you need to spend together in a day? Well, yeah. Well, here's the other question, though. Are you going to look back at life and go, gosh, man, I wish I would have worked so much more. That would have been so cool. You will never do that. Never say never, man. The odds are you're going to be working more and longer if you don't have a full-time job and money saved up. Yeah, when you're 70 and you're like, oh, I've got to go get a job because I don't have a nickel saved, that's not going to be really fun either. Well, if you have the opportunity, I don't know. I would do it for a little bit. I think it would be fun to do for a little bit, but doesn't it say something like they've done it already for a couple years? Yeah. Question. Yeah. You guys, any of us in here win the lotto, the big one. You win 30 mil, bring home. You work still? Oh, absolutely. Yeah, but I would work part time. I wouldn't quit this job. I'd start my own company. You would? Yeah. Jay?
Start my own company. You know, I've already got a plan. I don't want to work forever for somebody else. I mean, I'd be in a golden recliner with my feet up. Yeah. Woods on sports, but I'd be here. I'd pay people to do my busy work here and then just show up on the air. Yeah, show up on the air. Seriously. I mean, I'd actually, I'd buy the thing and I'd move us to 10 to 3. Yeah. Buy the station. Yeah, buy the station. Could I do my job from Kauai? Because then, yes. Because I'd want to travel. I mean, why would I want to, you know. I like to work. It's instilled in me from my mom. My mom is a worker. She turns 57 tomorrow. Or no. God, she'll kill me. 56, I think. And she still works 60 hours a week. See, I like to surf. I like to surf too. But with this gig, you can surf. I want to hear from M1s and the M1 Nation. What do you think of that? 5701949. And what would you do? I mean, if you had the money and you had the means to be able to take time off. so that you could spend more time with your wife or if you could spend more time with your husband, would you do that? Or would you continue to work and say to them, you know, maybe pick up backgammon? I think there's like, it just depends on how comfortable you are because there's so many things I would like to, I'd be like, let's go hiking. Let's go see this part of the county. Let's go do this. And if you had time to do it and you could get by, but.
I don't know. I'd like to know. Would you be irritated if your significant other didn't? Like, let's say you're in this dude's position. Would you be irritated if your significant other, L.O.B., could take the time off to spend with you but chose to work? Gosh, I don't know. Probably not. I don't think I'd be irritated. I'd probably be like, all right, maybe it's time to grow up. Would you be irritated? If they could and didn't? No. Maybe either. You know why? Because they're... going to be able to bring financial help to the table. So, I mean. But let's say finances are set. You're good. Are they ever set? Seriously. Like, I mean, here's the deal. They're good for the time being. They should be, like this guy, they should take this time to really be setting themselves up while they're young. I mean, I know I haven't. I haven't really even started setting myself up, but. But what if there is, what if they're saving for a rainy day and that rainy day never comes? What if they. Then their kids get that money. What if they don't have kids? Are they not going to? They don't want to? But when they get older, they're going to need it when they're too old to be working. What if they don't make it to old age? Oh, my gosh. What if all they have is today? What if my grandmother had roller skates? Exactly. It's deep. Thank you. I was really waiting for the crickets button on that. M1 at from Carlsbad. Are you there? Yeah, yeah. Hey. What's going on? Hey, Mike. Anyway, yeah, basically, I was going to say so much.
Pretty much the same thing is that you don't know that you have tomorrow. And you might want to appreciate the time that you have right now because, seriously, the love of your life is all you have. So what are you going to do if you don't spend that time with them? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, come on, man. Woods was just mimicking. You know what? I'm going to quit. Yeah. I'm going to go home and see my wife. Yeah, but, like, I mean, everyone's. I'm not promised tomorrow. Yeah, but everyone's goal is to get a job. Hey, I will say, though, Woods, we had this discussion the other day. He's going home. He wants to get his work done early so he can spend the rest of the day with his wife. Exactly, because I'm a man and a man works. But you want to get it done so you're not working all day. No, I know, but I like to spend time with him. What I'm saying is that fantasy of, you're not promised tomorrow. I get it. You're not. But you're also... You got to pay the electric bill and you got to put food on the table. But they're doing that. Right. But this guy's thing is all you have is the love of your life. I get it. We're not promised tomorrow, but you have to work hard every day just in case. I just don't understand. It's like, okay, I work full time. My husband works full time. We're on different schedules and we still get to see each other. Like how much time do you need to spend with one person in one day? Depends on what they're doing with their time. You know what I mean?
I would be P.O.'d if I was this girl. M1 Vanessa from North County. Hi, good morning. Morning. Excited to meet you guys today at the meet and greet. Right on. My take on it is that I think that if your husband loves and supports you as much as he should, that I think that you should support your wife no matter what decision she makes. And because you love her so much, you want to see her happy and you do what you need to do. to ensure that. And I believe that, um, he should support her decision and she'll know in time if it was the right decision or not. And if not, then, um, possibly she can go back to working part time. But for right now, I think that he should be supportive of whatever she decides because that proves a healthy marriage. There you go. It's a great point. And you know, the thing about marriage and it's something that I've been married three years, November, I'm learning every day, supporting what your spouse does, you know, and, and Getting behind it and really saying, hey, I understand. Jamie and I have this conversation all the time. Listen, babe, now is the time I have to work. As soon as I'm done with work, it's our time. And she supports me 100% in that, which is all you can ask. She's taking real estate classes. I support her 100%. You have to do that. I've never liked the deal of a husband telling a wife what she can and can't do. You can't work. Really?
I'm working for us. I don't think he's telling her that as like a machismo type of thing. I think he's like, I want to hang with you. Kind of a little wuss. Like, what am I going to do here by myself? Shouldn't he find something to do? Find something to do, man. GTL means gym tan laundry. Now, I've only recently found this out, okay? I only recently found this out. And I've never seen one episode of Jersey Shore. Mickey, I tried to tell you several times what GTL was. It's Mikey. What? What did I say? You said Mickey. Oh, little Mikey boy. It's Mikey. I told you several times what GTA was. I know you did, but I always forget. And you got the tea part on, you know what I mean? You little Mexican guy. I do. I do. Now, here. Now, this is Javier Bardem, the guy from No Country for Old Men, responding to what he thinks about Jim Tan Laundry. Do you know about Jim Tan Laundry? No. Jim Tan Laundry. Jim Tan Laundry? Jersey Shore? You don't know the Jersey Shore? No, no, but I don't even know what that means. No, I'm a serious actor. I will look for it in the dictionary. Where is he from? I'm an Oscar winner. That's who I am. Yeah, he is. And he doesn't know what Jim Tan Laundry is. Thank God for that, man. Yeah. He's from Spain. He's about nine feet tall. He's amazing. Word of the day is shampoo. When you hear shampoo worked into a sentence.

No pills, no pain, just relief. 15 northbound before the 805. Accident cleared there. That signal alert has been lifted. No more signal alert. Minivan has been moved. All the lanes are open, and you are free to move about the area. 52 westbound before Santo Road. We had a car spin out. Hit the center divider. He is sitting in the dirt now in that center divider.
And the 15 southbound between Valley Parkway, Center City Parkway, kind of slow this morning, about 30 miles an hour. Don't let a bad battery unexpectedly leave you stranded in the heat. Get to AutoZone for a ruggedly dependable Duralast battery, proven tough only at AutoZone. I'm Stacey Cohen, FM 94.9. KBZC San Diego. The Lincoln Financial Radio Station. And now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. The auto-tune stuff is great. You love it. Oh, I can't get enough of it. I think it sounds great in my ears. Lauren. Do you have coconut water? Woods. Dude, do you know that I've ripped sheets with my toenails before? Sienna. We're going to a nice place downtown La Jolla on Prospect. And Jay. Howdy ho, neighbor. On FM 94.9. And Natasha Leggero will be coming in here in just a minute. I want to say thank you to Surfride for giving us our skinny jeans that we're going to be wearing tonight. Very generous. They probably got some cool stuff. Tell you what, man. I got some cool shirts. Yeah, the shirts are cool. The problem is that skinny jeans don't look good on us. That's the problem. And we're going to be wearing them tonight and people can come down there and laugh at us.
And that's what they're going to do. They're going to point and they're going to laugh. I'm glad my face is sunburned to hide the red face that I have all night long. You'll forget about it. Will I? Yeah. Wow. And they're going to want to take pictures? Oh, absolutely. They may even want us to do a little dance. Yeah. We're going to be somebody's profile picture. Absolutely. Yeah. In skinny jeans. That's tonight, by the way. Tipsy Crow, downtown, Fifth Avenue. See us in skinny jeans. My wife. Had to cut mine because I'm short. And she had to hem them. Mikey walked out in them. And the ends were around his toes. That's right. And she took them in a little bit tighter. So they're a little skinnier. She works fast. So they're even skinnier jeans. Love it. This sucks. The what? This sucks. Oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah. I can't wait to get out of the car and walk into the place. Oh, my God.
You guys will be okay. You'll look great. I hope you have to park far. Oh, my gosh. Sadist. I know it. She's lapping it up like a German shepherd. I'm going to get her at the next meet and greet somehow. He's going to do something. Something. M1 Nation will be out there tonight in force celebrating our skinny jeans. Not celebrating like they're celebrating the JetBlue flight attendant who, by the way, It has turned into an overnight celebrity. It's all you see on the TV. That's all it is. That's it. All day long. They just did a reenactment of the slide coming out of the plane. Like, holy cow, man. Is this all that's going on right now? And then he hit a button and the slide fell. He grabbed two hunkins. Percentage of chance. He's going to be the most popular Halloween costume. Oh, yeah. That's genius. Absolutely. You're welcome for that idea, by the way. All right. Trick or treat. He's going to have beers. All over him. Is that Snickers? Wearing a flight attendant's outfit. People will dye their hair blonde and cut it really short, military style, and put on a JetBlue outfit and hold two beers in their hand. Maybe a little diamond earring. A little diamond earring. Here is Stephen Slater's ex-wife, Cynthia Suzanne. Oh, wow. Cynthia. Talking about him.
Other passengers say that he seemed agitated throughout the flight, well before this sudden blow-up. What do you make of that? You know Stephen. I do, and I really must say I don't believe it. I mean, perception is everything, and of course these passengers are going to have their opinions of things, maybe biased slightly by the frenzy ensuing. She sounds like a professional journalist. Yeah. Well, you know, I thought I knew him until I found out he was gay. Right. After I married him. So I don't really know if I'm the best person to ask. You know what? I'm not very happy with Steven and haven't been for the last four and a half years, to be honest with you. I don't know if it's an opportunistic situation for them to have some time within this media. I'm not certain. I know that Steven is the consummate. She sounds like any second she's going to go. And in other news, BP is testing their new plug for the oil. I know. He was literally born to fly. He absolutely adores everything about this. Well, if he was literally born to fly, he'd have wings. So he wasn't literally born to fly. He was figuratively born to fly. So I take umbrage with that statement. Thank you. Takes it very seriously. Always has. He's just a stellar individual.
Seems like it cussed out everybody on the aircraft for the intercom system. He sounds like a stellar individual. And then took two Budweisers, opened up the cockpit door. They were Michelob Ultras. You know that. Yes, of course they were. Use your head, pal. I find it very difficult to believe that he would be rude to anyone. Well, then what are you saying? That he wasn't? That he was provoked. Yeah. He was provoked. Right. Especially in the air. Well, he was. He was provoked. He was provoked. I mean, yeah, we get it. Past his breaking point. That reached his boiling point. Several other passengers have since come forward and said, in fact, some said they thought he was inebriated. Well, you know, I'm sure that you've seen this a couple of times with these kind of mass media frenzies and then everybody kind of jumps on the bandwagon. And it would not surprise me, again, if perception was not skewed based on the fact that there's so much going on with this at one time. I don't believe that he was rude to anyone. He was drunk, though, by the way. I'm not going to deny that. He was drunk? No, no. She didn't even say anything about that. Hey, you know what I think is really amazing that hasn't happened yet is the chick that he was rude to. Oh, yeah. And that was being rude to him that she hasn't become some sort of a celebrity. They haven't even released her name. Yeah, we haven't heard anything about her. I want to see her. Here she is more on that. So let me ask you about this meltdown. Have you ever seen him behave?
In that kind of a fashion. Never. Recess. Dinner bell. Yeah, what was that? Kids, lunch. Let's go. Go cheese sandwiches. Has anyone noticed, by the way, that he looks startlingly like Steve from Beverly Hills 90210? Ian Deary? Yeah. With the curly hair. Yeah, he does. Gentlemen, I think that this is an indicative sign of how... frustrated he must have been i i must go out on a limb and say that this passenger was a nightmare i mean something had to take him to that place i'm assuming i love how everybody is it's everybody else like and this i know this is just my opinion but it's everybody else's fault he was pushed he was blah blah blah it's everybody else's fault but his no accountability for dude with the beers and the Sliding down the slide. She's just saying this isn't a typical behavior. This was just a lash out. It's a pretty big lash out. Popping the inflatable on a plane. Genius. He didn't pop it. He just went down it. Go out with some flair if you're going to go out. Whee! What better way to leave a plane than down a slide? Are you kidding me? Absolutely. This passenger is just the end-all be-all of something he just...
Didn't want to deal with it. What do you make of the fact that now he's being hailed by some as a hero? Well, I again, I think it's a sign of the times. I mean, we've all stood in line behind someone watching them abuse the store clerk or, you know, just taking matters into their own hands by just being rude and self-serving. And, you know, it's it's it's everywhere. And I think that flight attendants more so than anybody else have to deal with these things. You know, they are not waitresses of the sky. You know, save your lives. Mikey, they're not. Aren't they? Waitresses of the sky. They're not. Aren't they, though? No. But aren't they doing? They give you peanuts and drinks, but they'll also be the ones to tell you when the plane's going down what you need to do. They tell you about the oxygen masks. But we just all said the other day that nobody pays attention to that except for me. You're right. I do. Because I've heard it so many times. Yeah. I watch the video. I know what to do. I don't have anything else going on. They know what to do in the event of an emergency. They do the things that the captain tells them to do. I'm not going to buy an electric dog-watering machine from SkyMall Magazine, so I'm watching. Has anyone ever bought any of that stuff? I've always wanted to. I never have. Woods? Maybe. I have. I think I have. You have? Yeah. What did you buy? What, are you surprised? No. Who are you talking to? I guess not. Some kind of alarm clock that plays your iPod. Did you still use it? Duh.
I've got good stuff in there. You guys know me. That stuff sits right up your alley. Right up my alley. It's a sharper image, Brookstone, that kind of deal. It seems slightly overpriced in that magazine. Slightly, yeah. I agree, except for the slightly part. It's very overpriced, but that stuff's fun. It looks like a lot of fun. Who doesn't need a hot dog making machine? Yeah. By the way, Stephen Slater has an attorney, and his name is Howard Turman. And here he is talking about his client. With all that's happened, why does he still want to be a flight attendant? That's his life. As you know, his father was a pilot. His mother was a flight attendant. That's in his blood. That's what he loves doing. Sounds like he loves doing it. It's his passion in life. Yeah. Sounds like a ball. Everybody can have a bad day, pal. That's true. Kids popped a spring or two before. Doesn't mean I don't love what I do. You? I find it very hard to believe that you've ever propped a spring. Really? He does. And anybody who knows him knows that he's a likable man. And I know some of you know his smile. And some of you know his grin. That's for the most part. Are you kidding? We all do. He's the most well-known person in the television today. Besides Jeff Probst on Survivor. This is...
His attorney, L.O.B. just did the, that went right over my head. Weird. L.O.B. hasn't seen television since the 80s. She's on TV. 90s. 90s? Yeah. I needed to make an A.C. Slater joke there, and she completely got that. Yeah, exactly. Here is Airline Guy himself thanking everyone for their support. Steven, do you want to thank everybody? Just say one thing. Yeah, I'll say the same thing I said on the intercom. F you and F you and F you too. Take that and see you later. Take that to the bank. Don't touch your bag. Yeah, I have something I'd like to say to everyone. Don't touch your bag. Sit down. Okay? And furthermore, sit down. And you know what? You want to know something? You want to know something? I didn't have a drop drink. Really? Hang on. Work it out. Work it out. Don't paint him with that brush. You don't know, pal. I didn't, and I resent it, and I resent it, and I resent it. Really? Thank you all so much. It's been amazing, the support and the love and everything that's been brought to me and given to me by the community and my friends and the industry at large. It's been absolutely wonderful. Somebody for young kids to look up to, Stephen Slater. Stephen Slater. Do not listen to that comment.
Do you think that kids will have Stephen Slater posters in their room like Farrah Fawcett posters from the 70s pretty soon? Posters that say it's Slater time? It's Slater time. We don't take no S from anybody. That's right. We're not going to take it. We're not going to take it, pal. What is the best food combination to get at Cold Stone? She asked that D that was in front of me sampling every one. Maybe ask him. Maybe he knows. He probably does know. Because he tried every combination in there. He probably does know. For 45 minutes while I waited on a hot summer night. Can I try your banana, please? Yeah, it tastes like banana. Oh my gosh, that does taste like banana. Can I try the cheesecake? Yeah, you know what it tastes like? It tastes like cheesecake. Some are different. Yeah, what kind of cheesecake? Cheesecake. New York cheesecake? New York cheesecake. What is it, strawberries? Nope, just cheesecake. Asked and answered. Can I try your mint chocolate chip? Yeah, you know what it tastes like? Mint chocolate chip. But what kind of mint is it? Mint chocolate chip. Okay, but is this sweet mint or is it more of a... Yeah, it tastes like mint chocolate chip ice cream. You know why? Why? Because that's what it is. What kind of chocolate? Semi-sweet? Chocolate. I know, semi-sweet. Chocolate. Is it carob? Chocolate. Dark chocolate? Chocolate.
It doesn't say carob. It says chocolate. Asked and answered. Tastes like mint chocolate chip. What's your Rocky Road taste like? Rocky Road. Tastes like a Rocky Road. Well, then I don't want it. There you go. I don't want to try it. Get your ice cream and move on, idiot. You're so angry. I have such a problem with that. I know. With you having a problem with that. There's 15 people in line. Well, that, okay. We were standing there and we were like, come on, dude. But there's nothing wrong with this. Let's give me some banana. There's nothing wrong. The whole, it tastes like banana. I mean, everybody has a preference over what brand of ice cream they like. But you know what banana tastes like, right? No, because it tastes different all the time. Everything that's ever been flavored with banana tastes like freaking banana. When's the last time you saw somebody... Without exception. When's the last time you saw somebody sample the banana ice cream and go... That's so strange. It tastes just like apples. It tastes like strawberries. Yeah, but sometimes it's chunky or it's too banana-y. Creamy. Banana-y. Honey, does this banana taste like a Whopper to you? This tastes like too much banana. Some bananas are better than others. Some are like, they feel like they're mixed with vanilla. Make your choice. This banana tastes like Count Chocula. L.O.B., you were a waitress. What if some guy walked in and was like, you had 15 other tables. He's like, you know.
I want to try your burger. You'd be like, dude, you know what a burger tastes like. Get it. But that's not our policy, but I let people taste wine as many as they want. Can I sample your Hefeweizen? Just sample it. Absolutely. Would you like an orange or not? Did it get on your nerves? When you were busy. When I was busy. Absolutely. But I gave everybody the same opportunity, whether I had one customer or 20. I gave him every opportunity in the book, and he took it. He had 15 samples. And I sat there behind him and just went. Three at most he had. Slit his throat. You ever get the weird combos over there? No. I am Johnny Basic. What's your go-to? I get one flavor of ice cream and enjoy that. I don't get like, ooh, throw that in there and that in there. No toppings? Not really. Me either. What? I'm Basic. Unless it's like a hot fudge sundae. In a cup. Wow. One flavor in a cup. Pistachio usually. I love pistachio. I don't know why. I read in a magazine what celebrity Julianne Hough gets when she gets frozen yogurt. Who's that?
Oh, she's hot. You'd love her. She gets vanilla, but on the bottom, she gets Heath Bar, and then graham cracker crumbles in the middle, and then she puts more vanilla on top, and then more Heath Bar. Oh, wow. Sounds like an accident. It sounds phenomenal. And I'll eat it, but... I want to go just to try that. See, I don't go to Cold Stone. I go to the self-serve little yogurt place. Oh, filthy. What? Delicious. Felt it germy. Not germy. Let me show you what happened before you got there. Snot. No way. That's what happened. The spoon for the Oreos. Yeah. Somebody took a snotty hand and spooned a bunch of Oreos. But I'm not eating the yogurt with my hands anyway. If I open the door to a restaurant, someone's snotty hand has been there too. But what if you grab that spoon and you spoon it on there and then later on you're like... I wouldn't do that. After I'm in public places, I wash my hands. It's just as dirty for you to walk in this building and hold a door. I know it. I know it. That's why I'm crazy. But you can control the layers. I like to do all the bad stuff for me on the bottom and the fruit on top so it makes me feel good. Makes you feel good? Like there's nothing bad underneath. You don't know what's under here. You're like, oh my gosh, I didn't know. No, I put all the Reese's and the chocolate chips and all that stuff on the bottom and then layer it up for
and yogurt and all the fruit, the healthy stuff's on the top. I can't believe you mix all that, though. Oh, I love it. It's so good. I get carob chips every time. Me too. It's like a fake chocolate. It's like a healthier chocolate. I love them. They're pretty good. I had some of her trail mix the other day. Not bad. Hey, yesterday we were talking about... We asked every... In fact... Let's do it. Let's ask right now. What's your name? The girl. Come here. Becky? The girl. The girl? The girl. Becky? Yes. Female. I'll give you a choice and you pick. oatmeal with chocolate chips or oatmeal with raisins? Cookies. Cookies. Be honest. Oh, cookies, chocolate chips. Yes! We may have just broken, we may have just cracked some code, like some sociological code. All right, so let's talk to the, who'd you bring with you? Who'd you bring with you? Let me talk to him. Manny. What's your name, Manny? Manny, yeah. Manny, oatmeal cookie with chocolate chips or raisin? Raisins. See? Oh, my God. It's so weird. Wait, don't even. We need more girls. Anybody else? What's her name? Neither. Neither. Kim? Chocolate chips. Chocolate chips on the way. You like chocolate chips. Every. Okay. Except for one guy. Yeah, two guys. Two guys. Two guys. Women pick chocolate chips. Men pick raisins. Wow.
Yeah. Chips. Two chips. There goes our theory. I love oatmeal raisins. We were like 10 for 10, though. Yeah, we did good. We were for a while. Men overwhelmingly pick raisins. And women overwhelmingly pick chocolate. Absolutely. We talked about this the other day about why it's so weird the effect that chocolate has on women. Women, and L.O.B. mentioned this yesterday, there's this whole thing about how there's a chemical in the brain for a woman that when she eats chocolate, it reproduces the same feeling of love. It's like love. It makes me so happy. So why don't you guys feast on chocolate? I do. They do. All the time. L.O.B. It's not chocolate. It's a double on tinder. That's right. Double on tinder. Pervert alert. It's a pervert alert. Wood said it, Hoyle. About you, though. Well, I'm not the pervert this time. We're going to have Natasha Leggero in here, are we? Have you guys heard about this serial stabber, Elias Abulazam? It's the best I can know. It's the weirdest story, man. Yeah. He was arrested at the...
Atlanta-Hartsford International Airport on Wednesday night. He was waiting to leave the country to go to Israel, but he went on a stabbing spree, stabbed 18 men, killing five of them. And yeah, he's been arrested. Terrible story. Crazy. But they arrested him. Yeah. On a lighter note, kind of a cool story. A baby was just born in Ohio earlier this week. The birthday is 8, 9, 10, August 9th, and was born at 11, 12. So 8, 9, 10, 11, 12. Weird. I know. Isn't that crazy? Weird. Woodsy, what's going on in sports? Well, the San Francisco Giants, it looks like, have pulled off a pretty good trade for them, man. They're going to get Jose Guillen from the Royals, and it's after the deadline, but there are a couple of loopholes that you can still make trades. He's a pretty good hitter, and he's going to probably be in their lineup this weekend against the Padres. So that's pretty interesting news. And then I'm going to give you the update on the PGA Championship right now. Matt Kuchar is in the lead. He's 5-under through 16. Tiger Woods finished the day. Still at one under. That's good. No, he has not started. I'm an idiot. By the way. But he's at one under. Tonight's 8 o'clock album, The Rolling Stones. Get your ya-ya's out. Great record. Heck of a night getting down here from L.A. and everything. Yeah. I mean, I know it's not that far, but it was a lot for us. Yeah, because the road, like, ran out or something. The tour road ran out. And we were drunk. Yeah, so the two of those things. Might have something to do with it. That might have had something to do with it. So you guys are here because you're going to be doing a tour with, first of all, you guys tour together. Uh-huh. But you're also, you've probably known Natasha from Last Comic Standing. And you were also on Reno 911. And you've been on Chelsea lately. Yeah, I'm on Chelsea pretty often, like every other week. And I was a judge on Last Comic Standing, which we just wrapped on Monday. You know, that show behind the scenes must be a lot of fun because it's a bunch of comedians just hanging out. That's got to be fun. Well, I feel like the contestants are all a little stressed out. They're freaking out. Yeah. But the judge, like, you know, it was me and Andy Kindler and Greg Giraldo and Craig Robinson. We were having a blast. Yeah. So how did you get picked? What did they do? They called you up one day and said, what do you think about judging comedians? Well, they said that, you know, I was never really a big fan of the show just because I think it's hard to do contests for.
for comedy. Right. You know, but they said it was Greg Giraldo, Andy Kindler, Craig Robinson. Are you in? And I was like, yes. That just sounded like fun. Because I love those people. Yeah. And they really were retooling the show and successfully they wanted to give it a little more merit, not put them in a house and, you know, really like hire respected comedians to talk about comedy. And if you watch the season, you see we did try to talk about comedy, like what makes something funny. Yeah. So what's the deal with this tour? Because you take seven finalists, right? And they go out on the road and they tour together? Or how does it work? Because it says that they're touring. I know. I don't understand. Are they? Everyone asks me about this show. I have no idea what's happening. They made the rules completely confusing. I never know what's going on. These reality show rules, it's like, tonight the bottom two decide which six will join the final five. Right. Right. America decides. I have no idea. Everybody asks me. So just look for them to come to your town and check them out. Hopefully you can figure it out. So how did you guys get hooked up on this tour together? Are you guys just buddies and you said, hey, let's do this? We're special buddies. Are you guys married and in love? No, but we have a podcast.
Same thing. Same thing. Podcast of the new children. So, are you guys romantically linked together? We're definitely linked. Have you guys ever flown JetBlue, grabbed a couple of beers, and flown down a little inflatable raft? Not yet, but that sounds so romantic. What does that mean? Well, that's that there was like a flight attendant. Oh, the one who freaked out. Who had a meth meltdown. He did. He did. I don't think that he was on. Oh, no. Why would you think that? He only grabbed a beer and went down an inflatable slide after the plane. Totally sober. You know, I bet he's totally sober. It was just heroin. Yeah. Not really sure. So he grabbed a beer. Two beers. Two beers. Two beers. Yelled at the person, got on the intercom, yelled at everybody and cussed everybody out on the plane and grabbed two beers and opened up the cockpit door. inflated the inflatable slide. Did anyone get that on camera? No. How is it? Because they make you turn off your stupid phone. Some of us.
God, think of the entertainment. Not everybody. No, that was a tragedy that they missed that because the guy's become a legend, right? He's an internet hero. And now you can make it up to be as tall a tail as you want. Now he's grabbed two beers. He's like the John Lennon of 2010. Everyone's flipping out about this guy. That's how bad things have gotten. That's our hero. The best part to me when you told me it is that they found him half hour later. With his boyfriend. Right. It's true. Blown off some steam real good. It's true. Like the police were looking for him? Yeah. Yeah, definitely. Well, he's like the hardest interview to get right now, too. You know, like the Today Show had to settle for his ex-wife. I'm sorry, his ex-wife. Wait, wait, wait. His ex-wife? Yes. Yes, maybe that's why it's ex. Wow. And she was actually in a pretty good mood despite everything, you know? I bet. Her ex-husband just humiliated himself. The one who humiliated her for being gay. There's nothing more humiliating than your husband being like, I like guys. Except for unless your wife says, I like girls. No, that's hot. I'm kind of on board with that. Yeah, that's okay. Nobody's embarrassed about that. So let me ask you. Can I keep this audience with me all day? Isn't that great? She asked. She's like, how do you guys get a studio audience? We just pay some extras. I bet you there's some famous comedians who just hire 10 people.
Follow them around and laugh at them. Exactly. We actually had Craig Robinson in here, and he said the same thing. He was like, what's with the crowd? Cool. So where are you guys going to be performing here? How can people see you here in San Diego? Comedy Store, La Jolla, tonight and tomorrow night, 8 and 1030. Nice. And I think, yeah, it's going to be fun. I love this club. Do you guys do the thing where you have to all the time? have a little pad of paper on you at all times for observations that you make so you don't forget it? Are you the type that can remember it? You don't have to write it down. No way you have to write it down. Yeah. Because those observations generally come when you're in a state of mind where it's hard to remember things. That's a good point. Are you really tired? Oh, yeah, I'd say tired. Yeah, or you just get down exercising. Or you're in the middle, you're jogging. Yeah. Right. You know, on ecstasy. So, Natasha, is that you? Are you the type that you have to write it down or will you just remember it? You know, you have to write it down because oftentimes I'll write stuff down and I forgot about it. Yeah. So if you try to remember it, I mean, doesn't Mitch Hedberg have that famous joke where it's like when he's laying in his hotel room, he either goes and gets a pen when he thinks of something or convinces himself that it's not that funny. Right. Right. Right. So, I mean, that is kind of the dilemma.
So sometimes you will convince yourself, but yeah, I think it's good to make little notes. So you guys are true. I was asking them about their travel because I'm always fascinated by comedians and what you guys do. You guys are going to Florida next. That's right. And then you're going to Atlanta. Georgia, yeah. And so how long will you guys be doing this? How long does your tour last? Our tour lasts... It's kind of an indefinite concept. It's forever, bro. You can go out as long as you want and then just take a break if you want? Well, I mean, we go out, like, I'd say every other week right now. And there's so many cities. So it's always fun to, like, go to new cities. I mean, I was just in Portland and Nashville. Like, cities that I wouldn't, you know, especially cities in the south. Like, you don't really realize that you're going to have so much in common with the people. And then it ends up being so fun. So, I mean, there's any, like, Louisville I was just in. And, you know, it's just nice to go to these. Because they're functioning, cool, vibrant cities. And I get very snobby. I'm like, New York, L.A. But there's a lot of cool places. Who were the funniest comedians to you growing up? You know, I'm from the Midwest. And I did not know about stand-up comedy. Really? Until I was like 25. It's not allowed in the Midwest. They banned it in 84. I just had this idea in my head.
I mean, I loved comedy. You know, I guess I loved Steve Martin. But, you know, I loved comedy and I loved funny things. You know, like I would, you know, Woody Allen movies. And, you know, I was, I don't want to get too sophisticated here. But, you know, I loved Neil Simon, like plays when I was little. And I think I didn't realize that you could do stand-up. I thought it was like an old man in a suit. How did it happen? I saw some young girl doing it. And I was like, oh, you can just like stand on stage and talk. Like, I thought you had to be, like, Jackie Mason. I thought you needed a wife. Right. You had to have a wife. Take my wife, please. What was the first gig you did? At the comedy store. Here? No, in L.A. Mitzi has this great place. Mitzi Shore, who owns both the comedy store in L.A. and San Diego. She has this really great room called the Belly Room. And she actually made it in the 70s for women. Yeah. Because it's... It's, I guess, like a creates the womb. What would you, how would you say, Duncan? Yeah, I think that's, it's like, yeah, it's, I guess, like comedians who are still in utero. Right. They grow in the belly room. So it's a great room for comedy. And also at the comedy store when it was owned by the mob. According to Urban Myth, that's where they did the illegal abortions. Okay, creepy, creepy, creepy. Yeah, that's true. The belly room.
That's where I started. Really? That's a great start. Yeah. And so that's where you got started. The first time you got up there, were you like... It was amazing. That's what I mean. The room is like low ceilings, dark, no bar in the back for distraction. So it's got everything going for it. So if it's a packed house, and I just had no idea people were going to laugh. Yeah. And so then when they started laughing... To me, it just felt like these waves coming over me. I was also on Vicodin. Yes. Been part of the hallucination I was feeling. But I feel like ever since then, I've been trying to, you know, that was still my best set I ever had. That's cool. But then the second one was god awful. Really? Because then I was cocky. Wow. And then, you know, it was rough for a few years. And then, you know, I've been doing it for nine years. You've also, let's see. Now, Duncan, where have we, have you been? I have some notes here, but I don't know. Well, this is probably the most recent thing. You can look it up on the Internet is HBO's Funny or Die just did this drunk history. Have you guys ever seen drunk history? So basically, the idea is they get you is drunk, like blackout drunk. They take a comedian. They have you talk about a historic event. So they got me drunk on absinthe and beer. Oh, my God. And had me talk about Tesla, who's kind of the father of electricity. A lot of people don't know that.
And then they got John C. Reilly and Crispin Glover to reenact my retelling of the story of Tesla. And so they lip sync your slurred. Were you nervous going into that? Like, oh, my gosh, what am I going to say? Well, I was nervous. And then Derek Waters, the guy who created it, he's like Hannibal Lecter. And he's really good at getting you drunk. Because he's got to get you way past your comfort zone of drunk. So he just kept. You have to sign a release? saying you won't sue anybody? Yeah, he hates you die. Where did they do it? They did it in our apartment. So they come to your apartment, set up cameras. And clean up the throw up. And it was my idea. I picked the absinthe and I was trying to be smart and bohemian. I'm like, you know, let's do absinthe as the alcohol. And then not remembering, you know, absinthe is like a psychoactive alcohol. It's European tequila. And so somewhere in the, I don't know how many shots of absinthe, my mind is getting that tequila lucidity.
But my mouth, it's like I'm a stroke victim. Holy cow. It's not catching up. Yeah, so it's not catching up at all. So in my mind, it's like, hey, guess what? You're going to be on HBO in the middle of a... Oh, wow. Yeah, yeah. I gotta see that. And the actors, actually another one they did when Sundance, another short, and I think that one was with Will Ferrell and Don Cheadle. But what they do that they're so great at is if the person telling the story starts hiccuping, you'll see Don Cheadle talking and then he'll do it too. They lip sync you, do they? They lip sync you. So it's so cool to see. what you would look like as a great actor. That's awesome. It's crazy to think that somebody dreamed that up. That would be so hard to watch. I mean, the first time you saw it, were you just like, oh my God. Really? Well, no, it was fascinating because I honestly...
didn't remember half of it. So I was like, wow, I don't remember saying that. And you were also on Curb Your Enthusiasm? Yeah, that's right. Brilliant show. Isn't it great? It's brilliant. It's super cool to work with those guys. Because I got to be in a scene with Garland and Larry David. And it was just, yeah, for me, that show's one of the funniest shows ever. And Larry David is just like... a comedy god. Didn't you say it was just like a bunch of old comics sitting around the table just having fun, like trying to crack each other up? Yeah, that's what I didn't realize is the way the scenes work is they evolve. I was going to say, did you know your lines or did you... Yes, they gave me my lines, but those guys have like, they just have index cards. It's kind of like, here's what happens here. And what I didn't realize is they probably, I don't know. 40% of the takes, they messed up from laughing. Because, yeah, because they crack each other up. And so one person will, and everyone on the set, is like holding their mouths trying not to laugh because it's so incredibly funny. What a great time. Yeah, it was so awesome.
We haven't mentioned this entire time that Duncan's been holding a dog. A little angel of him. He's got a dog with him. Our little angel. That's our chihuahua, Mayor Cutie. And you know what? You can see Mayor Cutie. We just shot something with her on Adam.com called Patriot Dog where she watched too much Fox News and turned into a Tea Party member. I just want to point out that Natasha said our dog. Yeah. That's our dog. That's right. So she's half Chihuahua and half what? Half not. Yeah. Jack Russell. Yeah. That must have been an interesting pairing. But very cute dog. Thank you. Very cute dog. You guys take her with you everywhere. Yes. And that's very cute. Well, you guys are going to be at the Comedy Store. And if you want to see them, they're going to be there tonight and tomorrow night. And what time? What time can people catch you? 8 and 1030. Okay, cool. I think there's still tickets left. Yeah. Yeah. Okay, cool. And if people want to get tickets, I'm guessing go to the website or just show up and you can buy them at the door.
Is that the best thing to do? Both. I would try to get them online just because I know that some of the shows are pretty full. Yeah. But yeah, or I'm sure you could get, at least for the late show. And you can call and reserve tables and chairs and stuff like that, I think. Yeah, the comedy store is awesome there. It's kind of like a loungy environment. It's really cool. I found Lauren O'Brien on YouTube. She's a... She's a comedian. An aspiring comedian. You are? Yeah. Awesome. And found her on YouTube doing stand-up. And she did stand-up for the first time at the Comedy Store not too long ago. The one here? The La Jolla Comedy Store a couple weeks ago. Awesome. Yeah. That was really cool. That's good luck. It's a good place to start. It's a cool place. Cool place to see a show. Thank you guys for coming in here. I appreciate it. This is awesome. Thank you guys. Very, very cool. Natasha. You can leave the dog if you want to. We'll take care of her. He loves dogs. Love dogs. Love them. Thanks guys. Thanks a lot. That's awesome. That's awesome. So this is what I want to talk about from Sienna's recap. Sienna on her recap was talking about.
Somebody, you tell the story about the weight gain deal. I don't even know how to get into it. Okay, this is so touchy. It's very touchy. Okay, so my husband Todd had a friend over recently, and he doesn't even know I'm going to tell this story. Yeah. And his friend was obviously talking to him about this, not me. You're doing a little eavesdropping, my dear? I was in the room. Did you have a cup up to the door? I was in the room, okay? But his friend's been... been with this girl for a while. They're engaged now. And apparently he went back to her family's house recently and saw a picture of her, his fiance, from about five years ago. He said she did not look like the girl he knows today. She was really, really overweight. And he had no idea. It looked like somebody ate his fiance. It looked like someone ate his fiance. Or she had been stung by hundreds of bees or something like that. Thousands of bees. She fell in a beehive. I think he even made that joke. And so he was saying, he's like, dude, like, is this something I need to worry about? Like, is that going to come back once we get married? Because, you know, people do gain weight after they get married. They get comfortable. Yes.
You gained the freshman 420. It's like, oh, I'm married now. Let's eat. Let's hang out. Let's order pizza. Let's have pizza and take a nap. So he was talking to Todd about this and I was just thinking like, does he have a point or am I really upset? Like, I don't I don't really know how I felt about it. Yeah. Well, the bottom line is that the looks are going to change no matter what. The looks are going to change. Yeah. I mean, you're you're. In general. I'm way better looking than I was when I got married. I think I'm better looking than I was when I got married, which is, my gosh, can you imagine when I got married? Beautiful hair. Thank you. Thank you very much. But I do think that it changes, you know, people gain weight when they get older. Most of the time. There's exceptions. Stuff falls down. Stuff falls down. But the weight gain is, I mean. Stuff falling down, you can't really help. You know what I mean? We all go through that together. Classic surgery. The weight gain, you can kind of help, but you don't. As you know, I used to be morbidly obese. I hate when you say it like that. That's an actual clinical definition. And I had the gastric bypass surgery. Lost 117 pounds. Wow. With the gastric bypass surgery. And yeah, I mean, I...
I've actually lost more weight in the past couple of years than anything else. And so, but I mean, potentially, right? I could put on weight. But there's people, you know, because it's like now he knows that that's a gene of hers. And so he's like, man, I didn't, I had no idea. Like I had, I'd seen pictures of her before, but nothing like this. And he's just like, I mean, she's a completely different person now. Could that come back? And if so, am I going to have a problem with that? I think that we are. We're societally afraid of saying that we think that it's wrong for somebody to really change physically. Like as a society, we go, oh, well, that's looking on the outside and not the inside. But I mean, if you met someone and their personality really changed, you would go, that's weird. Yeah, it's like that is a different person. Yeah. And if they if they change their appearance really drastically one way or the I mean, what? What if you married somebody and you were really attracted to them because they were chubby and then they became really, really thin? But isn't attraction there to initially pull people together? Yeah. And then you get way past that? You totally do. See, and that's the thing. I mean, personally, once you're in love, you're kind of trapped.
You're in love now. It's so romantic. You're in love. It's kind of like having a ball and chain around your ankle at all times. You're trapped. Let me tell you. It's kind of like you're drowning with cement blocks. It's kind of as if I have become bags of bowling balls around my wife's ankles. Right. Exactly. But is it bad? I mean, the thought would definitely cross my mind. Because if I were him and say maybe she did gain that weight back, you know, is he going to be like, Can you say something? Like, I don't know. No. You can never say anything to her about it? No, if you're the type of person that, if you're the type, see, by the time you're going to some place and seeing old pictures like that, you like the girl. Well, obviously, he's marrying her. He loves her. Here's what I would have done. I would have gone like this. I would have pulled the picture out of the thing. I would have gone easy chubs. Yeah. But you know what? That would have been, I just would have made fun of her. She would have cried and have been devastated. Yeah, dude. But see, I wouldn't think twice about marrying her. I wouldn't think twice. Well, that's good. What happened to you, Cheesecake? Oh, wow. That's sensitive. What happened to you, Cheesecake? But she looks good now, and I'm marrying her anyway. Well, I don't think it should be a deal breaker, but I think human nature, it has to cross your mind. Well, I mean. Oh, well, that happened. Here's the deal. That's a possibility. If you're in love, it's not going to matter. See, that's a deal. I got my wife now. She's in love with us. She can't do anything about it.
It's like she's trapped. She's trapped. She loves me. I know this is going to sound really cheesy, but once you know someone long enough, honestly, you can look in their eyes and they always look the same. You know what I mean? Yeah. And people change over time. And if you're with that person every day, you hardly even notice the change. Yeah, that's a good point. I was so much fatter when I first met Rebecca. I was so much skinnier when I first met me. See, that's usually the case, you know? I was laying in bed last night eating a piece of cheesecake. Easy cheesecake? Yeah. Easy cheesecake. Jamie, go get me another piece. Seriously. Well, I asked her to make me a piece. It took too long. I went down and made it myself. Yeah. I was meaning. You know how you know that you're gaining a lot of weight? You're fat. You have shampoo in one hand and you have cheesecake in the other. You're in the shower eating cheesecake. We have been talking about Justin Bieber getting hit in the face with a water bottle. You know, the video of him getting hit in the face with a water bottle. Guess what? We have a fan back here. Justin Bieber, and by the way, we're going to get to that Dr. Laura N-word thing. If you haven't heard about that, Dr. Laura.
Big controversy right now, saying the N-word on the air and how she said it, why she said it, the whole thing. We're going to play that for you in just a second. We were talking about the video that was pretty viral, went viral, of Justin Bieber getting nailed in the head with a water bottle, right? And so this was a big thing and we were talking about it. Well, we found out that it wasn't even a water bottle. And he also talked about... How it wasn't even recent. That was, like, two years ago that happened. I don't know why that just suddenly came up. It wasn't a water bottle. It was candy. Everyone has bad days. What? It was candy. It was a big, like, tube of candy. But he wasn't famous two years ago, right? I think he was still getting started or something, you know? But he was out. But he said it was a few years ago. I don't believe it. You don't? I think it was recent, and he's embarrassed. Really? Really? Yeah. How do you care? Because he sounds exactly the same in the video and as he does now. And doesn't your voice drastically change from 14 to 16? Mine sounds just like it sounded when I was 16. So the Dr. Laura thing, if you have not heard about this, this is what happened on Dr. Laura's show. Jade, welcome to the program. Hi, Dr. Laura. Hi.
I'm having an issue with my husband where I'm starting to grow very resentful of him. I'm black and he's white. We've been around some of his friends and family members who start making racist comments as if I'm not there or if I'm not black. And my husband ignores those comments and it hurts my feelings. Can you give me an example of a racist comment? Because sometimes people are hypersensitive. Two good examples of racist comments. Okay. Last night, good example. We had a neighbor come over. And this neighbor, every time he comes over, it's always a black comment. It's, oh, well, how do you black people like doing this? And do black people really like doing that? And for a long time, I would ignore it. But last night, I got to the point. I don't think that's racist. I don't think that's racist. No, I think that, no, no, no. I think that's, well, listen.
Without giving much thought, a lot of blacks voted for Obama simply because he was half black. Didn't matter what he was going to do in office. It was a black thing. Everybody's doing the pantomiming, digging the hole deeper. Oh, boy. I'm so uncomfortable. Can I go to the bathroom? Yeah. I'm so uncomfortable. Make your skin crawl, right? My skin's crawling. It gets worse. I really get to go to the bathroom. It does. It's not that she hasn't even said that. I know. She hasn't said it yet. I'm like, oh, wow. She's just going to keep going. Oh. Here's the thing, because I'm breaking it down, right? I'm listening to him. I'm like, oh, what do I think? Somebody comes over to the house and they say, hey, what do black people do in a situation with blah, blah, blah? And you're black. Okay, so somebody comes over to the house and they say to me, hey, Mike, in Mexican, you know, with Mexicans, what do Mexicans do with blah, blah, blah? Because I'm Mexican. I don't know. I mean, would that, would I?
What I personally, now whether she takes it racist. Right. It's up to her. What I take that as a racist comment is one thing. And whether or not it is a racist comment is another thing. Right. Okay. Whether or not I take it one way is an issue and whether or not it is racist. Okay. So we have to agree on, well, what makes something racist? I don't know if it's racist so much as inappropriate. It's inappropriate. Yeah. I don't think that, I mean, by someone being racist, I think you do not like a particular race. That's what I think. I think that racism is a hatred for a group of people of a particular race. That was a racial statement. It's racial because it's pertaining to her race. What do you black people do here? What do black people do here? I just think it's off color. Inappropriate. It's inappropriate. Not thought out well. I don't know. Ignorant, maybe? Yeah. Ignorant. I don't know if it's necessarily right. I think he could have just as easily said, what do you think in this situation? Absolutely. I don't know why. No, no, no, no, no. Because he specifically wanted to know about their culture.
He specifically wanted to know about the black culture. So if somebody wanted to know about the Mexican culture, which is fair, by the way. Right. I need more context in this. And you make jokes about it, and then we keep pushing the envelope because you're okay with it. But let's say I didn't. Let's say I didn't make jokes about being Mexican, and you were curious about the Mexican culture. For instance, Ella B's Irish. What if I wanted to know something about Irish culture, and I asked her something about Irish culture? And now that may be a leap for me to go, hey, Mike, just because I'm Irish doesn't mean I got a pot of gold behind my house and I'm like lucky charming my way into it on a pot of gold, you know, a rainbow every day. You know, just because I'm Irish doesn't mean that I have the recipe for. Corned beef and cabbage. But I think. Would it be racist, L.O.B., if I went, hey, L.O.B., how do you make corned beef and cabbage? You're Irish. How do you make corned beef and cabbage? No, but that's different because I don't feel like. That's her heritage, not her skin color. Yeah, and Irish is not a race, and also they're not traditionally discriminated against. Not traditionally. It's a what and not a race? It's like a heritage. I said that's her background. It's not her skin color. It's the same thing. But like Mexican does have different cultures. Ireland is a country. Right. So it is. But it's white.
But he's not, you're not saying. But isn't Mexico a country and I'm Mexican? Yeah. I'm really uncomfortable. But it's different. It's different. See how freaked out we get, by the way? Let me tell you where you can get the lowest gas prices in San Diego. It's different because you would be not saying because she's Irish. You would be saying because you're white, that's what this example is here. They're not saying your ethnicity. Because people can be black and be from different countries. Yeah. Yeah. Because you're Jamaican, you know, that would be something different, you know? And there's no doubt about it. If somebody said to me, if somebody walked into my house and they said, hey, Mike, how do you make tacos? I guess that kind of would sound a little racist, wouldn't it? I mean, wouldn't it? It would, wouldn't it? Yeah. It depends on how you say it. I think there's ways to not. What if someone said, what if someone said, hey, Mike, in the Mexican culture, what kind of importance is put on the role of motherhood? That's totally different. Totally fine. Totally different. Yeah. Now, if somebody had said to this lady that Dr. Laura's talking to, in the black culture, what kind of importance is put on motherhood? Different.
But Mexico is a country. That's the difference as well. You know what I mean? Okay, Africa is a continent. But not everyone that identifies with the race of black associates with Africa. Yeah. So many rules. So many rules. He's African-American, but you can be, I mean, look at Big Papi. He's from the Dominican Republic. Yeah, but he's not. Wouldn't you call him black? I don't know. I mean, I don't know. That would be uncomfortable. I don't know. See? I mean, Sierra said Jamaican too, but I guess that... I would call Big Papi fat is what I would call Big Papi if I called a man. It's only because you're a Yankee fan. Okay, now the next deal that went on was Dr. Laura oddly starts to talk about President Obama. Oh, boy. And how some people voted for President Obama because he's black, which I don't really get. Can't we all just get along and stop labeling each other? I don't really get how that has anything to do. With what this lady's calling about. I know. When I listened to it, my head turned to the side and I went... How long until Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson come out? I'm sure they are already. You've got to know that. That's not a surprise. Not everything that somebody says... We had friends over the other day. Got about 35 people here. The guys who were going to start playing basketball. I was going to go out and play basketball. My bodyguard and my dear friend is a black man.
And I said, white men can't jump. I want you on my team. That was racist. That was funny. How about the N-word? Now, wait a minute. She knows this guy pretty well, so she knows it's okay. If she walked up to the guy that was working in HR and said that, no, it's not okay. If she walks up to the guy that's working in accounting and says that, no, it's not okay. If she walks up to the guy that's working in sales and says that, it's not okay. If she says it to her bodyguard. Who she knows really well. You guys know me. I can walk in your house and go, hey, make me a taco. Of course. You're not going to get mad. Of course. But if your neighbor that you knew for five seconds said that to you. You'd be like, what? You'd be like, what did you just say? For instance, the guy that runs a corn stand at a fair. Right. That said that to me. Didn't know me. And he kept going. He kept going. Yeah. I know you want lime on your corn because you're Mexican. Right. Lime and mayonnaise. And mayonnaise is what he says. Yeah. And I said, I'll have you know I'm allergic to limes and mayonnaise. Black guys use it all the time. Turn on HBO, listen to a black comic, and all you hear is n***, n***, n***. I don't get it. If anybody without enough melanin says it, it's a horrible thing. But when black people say it...
It's affectionate. It's very confusing. Don't hang up. I want to talk to you some more. Don't go away. I'm Dr. Laura Schlesinger. I'll be right back. She's not even right necessarily in that regard because there's plenty of black people that don't like that word. Yeah. Even when another black person uses it. Sure. I mean, you can't use the, you can't, I mean, it's Dr. Laura. No. You can't say, if you follow that logic, as a matter of fact, if you follow her logic, that must mean that the word's okay. If it's okay for black guys to use it in their comedy, then it must be okay. Is that your point, Dr. Laura? Dude, she just dug a hole to China, my friend. Well, they started fighting when they came back from commercial. Her and the collar? Yeah. Oh, boy. They started fighting because the lady... Are you uncomfortable yet, Woods? Dude, I've been uncomfortable for 15 minutes. I'm so uncomfortable. I can't sit still. You want more or do you want more? You know I want more. I want more. Oh, yeah, it gets uncomfortable. Real uncomfortable.
I was a little caught back by the N-word that you spewed out, I have to be honest with you. But my point is, race relations... Oh, then I guess you don't watch HBO or listen to any black comedians. No, I do, so I'm sorry. It's okay. Do it again. Say it more. I mean, that's my thing. What is her point, Dr. Laura? She's saying that there's a double standard and she should be able to make the same jokes that a black man makes. No, you shouldn't. Here's the deal. Eddie Murphy, Martin Lawrence, those guys can go up and make fun of white people all day long. They're like, I'm like, hey, hey, they talk like this. Right. I'm in, all the way in. If I saw a white guy up there dropping the N-word, we all saw Michael Richards. Right. Dude, I fell out of my chair. Well, and it's where that word was derived from. Exactly. And I fell out of my chair. And, like, if I saw some guy, it's just, you're fine. Call it a double standard. There is. And there is for a reason. There is. And that word came from such a. time that if you look back on our history and you're like, wow, that's monstrous. I can't believe that that existed. And that's where, you know, in that time period. It was hateful. Yes. It was hateful. And the connotation of it. But that doesn't make it right. I mean, race is a big thing. My dear. My dear. That's not demeaning, by the way. Yeah. My dear. Listen, my dear.
Or condescending. She was calling Dr. Laura for help and got insulted. Dr. Laura, when my husband's friends come over and they say racist things to me, it hurts my feelings. That's just ridiculous because comedians, every black guy can say N, but I can't. Let me throw the N-word at you three times. I am trying to make another level that's unacceptable. Yeah, we've got a black man as president, and we have more complaining about racism than ever. I mean, I think that's hilarious. Oh, my God. Hilarious. Wow, wow, wow. Where's your Klan hat, dude? Good Lord. Because there's more white people afraid of a black man taking over the nation. I don't agree with that, by the way. I don't agree that we're afraid that a black man has taken over the nation. Don't agree. I want to be honest about it. Dear, they voted him in. Only 12% of the population is black. Whites voted him in. It was the younger generation that did it. It wasn't the older white people that did it. Okay. All right. All right. Chip on your shoulder. I can't do much about that. Yeah, I think you have too much sensitivity and not enough sense of humor. Oh, it depends how it's said. Is it okay to say that word? Is it ever okay to say that word? It depends how it's said.
Black guys talking to each other seem to think it's okay. But you're not black. They're not black. Oh, I see. So a word is restricted to race. Yep. I guess it is. Yeah, absolutely. I mean, I guess it is. It's kind of just an understood thing. Yeah. I mean, well, either that or the joke shouldn't be made, right? I think there's plenty of people, black, white, Asian, Mexican, that think that joke shouldn't be made, period. That word just shouldn't be said. I mean, I have to say I see where she's coming from, though, because it is a double standard, and it's frustrating that there are people that say that about their race, but if anyone else does, you're awful. No, no, no, not anyone. Not anyone. Just white people. Right. Well, but that, I mean, and I don't know. I would never say that word. I think that word is disgusting, and I think no one should say it. Yeah. But that's where I think she's coming from is if it's such an awful word in their eyes, why do some people say it? Well, that makes sense, and if it's such a bad word, then why do they continuously say it? I see that, but... It became a pop cultural thing and I don't think they should be saying it. But that's why it's like, it should just be banned altogether. You know, if it's that big of an issue, why do some people still say it? If it would offend them, if someone else would say it. Here's what's interesting, is that minorities can make jokes about themselves and other minorities. As a white comic, you cannot make jokes about minorities or you're racist. That was like number one rule in the comedy classes that I took. What was it? It was...
If you are any minority, you can go ahead and you can do your accents and you can make fun of other races or anything. White people can't do that. You can make fun of yourself and other white people and that's it. But white people get made fun of all the time. Yeah, I'm fine with that. So what are we supposed to say? Nothing? I laugh my ass off when they start doing white guy voice. Yeah, it's funny. I wanted to do a bit that we were going to call Pepper at the Apollo. Yeah. It was back when L.O.B.'s nickname was Pepper. The Apollo is traditionally black comedy place. And I want to do a bit called Pepper at the Apollo. And it would be Lauren doing traditionally black comedy. Only she would be doing that voice that she does like this. And she's like, are you crazy? And I go, no, it's hysterical. I go, you go out there and you tell like your mama jokes. But you go out and you go, your mother is so overweight. She eats wheat sex. Yeah. And she goes, no way. And I go, why not? She goes, because I'm white, I'll get killed. And I go, why? And all I've ever thought of it is from my perspective. And she goes, well, you can do that. You can get away with that. You're Mexican. You're a minority. You can get away with it. And I guess she's kind of right. Besides certain instances in history.
And historically, white people have never really been discriminated against. So it's like you can't really like throw out the, oh, I'm in your boat. I know what it feels like to me. You know what I mean? I mean, at least in this country. Tosh does it. He makes fun of everybody. Yeah, he does. He makes fun of everything and everyone. Yeah. And, you know, let's throw it out there. A lot of times people do take themselves way, way seriously. And, you know, my whole thing is I'm going to laugh if it's funny. You know what I mean? And if it makes me laugh, if you want to make fun of me, I mean, look where I work. I get made fun of every single day. If it's funny, I'm on board. If it's hurtful, I'm not. Yeah, if that's a difference. Yeah, that's definitely where it comes from. That's definitely what I think the rule is. M1 Nessie from Carlsbad. Hi. Hi. Okay, so I just wanted to kind of comment on what you guys were talking about. It's so true that it is particular to a certain race, I guess you could say. or whatnot or what you can or cannot say. And I know that a lot of people who aren't, say, Mexican or black don't really get it. But then again, they don't really understand what it feels like to be discriminated against. Yeah, exactly. That's true. It's hard for them to understand because they are not in our spot most of the time. It's really hard. And you can tell I'm getting emotional over the phone just because I had an experience like that recently where I was driving and I...
cut off somebody and it's like okay i'm i made a mistake but this person actually had to roll down their window and say oh we're not driving in mexico you know you know what kind of person says that and it's just like if i was talking to somebody and they were like you know mexican and then they jokingly said oh it's like well you're not driving in mexico you know like i would actually laugh it off because i can understand like they get it you know they get that you know sometimes in our culture like especially if you go across the border like driving is kind of weird and stuff but it's like You never really know when somebody else is not part of your culture if they really mean it from, you know, a funny place or not because it's so hard because you don't. You don't really know because they're not part of that culture. You don't know if they really get it, what they're saying. Do they really think it's funny? And Dr. Laura, I can promise you, has never been discriminated against for anything. As a woman. Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, oh boy. As a woman. She apologized.
in depth after that happened. Did she? Oh, yeah. She said, I talk every day about doing the right thing and yesterday I did the wrong thing. I was attempting to make a philosophical point and I articulated the N-word all the way out more than one time and that was wrong. I'll say it again. That was wrong. Wow. There you go. This just in, Sean Merriman shows up at Chargers facility. How about that? A league source says that Sean arrived at the team's training facility within the last hour. And whether he intends to sign his one-year tender and end his holdout is not known, but you can obviously conclude from him showing up to camp that it's probably imminent. That's a good thing. I have the cheapest and most expensive gasoline in San Diego when we come back. Where can you get both? I always have to look nice. That's why I'm wearing these tight size 42s.

Do I have to go to this stupid thing? Yes, you do, Sabrina. No way. You're on the show. I'm not on the show. Yeah, you are. I'm forced to be here. You're a weather girl. You're a weather girl. And what if tonight somebody wants to know what the weather's going to be like this weekend? Then they can go to stupidweather.com like I do. She does. Stupid. Sabrina, what's the outlook for the weekend? I'm going to blow it out with some of my girlfriends. No, no, no. We're going to go to downtown. No, I'm not talking about you guys. What? I'm talking about the weather this weekend. Oh, the weather. Let me see. She's going to go to the internet now. No, she doesn't. Maybe be prepared. I thought we told you to be prepared. We usually come to you around the same time. I thought I told you to get it. We said every day when you come in, you should have your weather now, and you still don't. I do. It's right here. What is it? What do you got? It's a 69 today. It is. It really is. How old are you? For sure. I'm 21. And you're still laughing at that joke? It's 69 degrees. I'm being serious. All right. And tomorrow's 69 as well. It's going to be 71 on Sunday. What? 71 on Sunday. I still didn't understand what you said. 71 on Sunday. 71, that's my name. What? 71 on Sunday? On Sunday, yeah. 71 on Sunday. 74, 74, 72, sunny. You know what's funny, Sabrina? I'm back down again. Sabrina.
Yeah. You know what's funny? What? People actually ask whether or not you're a real person. What? Yeah, I know. What am I, like a cartoon or something? Like people don't realize if you're real. A lot of people think that you're Lauren. What? Some people have even said that. That's ridiculous. I know, I know. Look how Lauren's dressed. It's ridiculous. It's not ridiculous. That's a nice thing to say. It's not very nice. What's wrong with the way I'm dressed? Yeah, what's wrong with it? I think it looks fine. Yeah, it's fine for like 1970s hippies. Oh, wow. I like that dress. Wow. Yeah, that's not very nice. Not nice at all. Sabrina. I'm not here to be nice. I'm here to do the weather. Whoa. Sabrina and L.O.B. probably will not hang out. Probably wouldn't get along. No, yeah. You're not going to see them at the same place at once. She's like geriatric anyway. What is she, like 30? She's 29. Oh, same thing. No, actually it's not the same thing. No, it's actually a year off. It's a year different. It's a year different. Would you like to know where the most expensive and cheapest gas in San Diego is? Yes. What do we got? Well, Southern California, first off, prices are going up. Great.
Really? They're climbing to the highest level of the year. The average price of a gallon of regular gas in San Diego County shot up three cents this last week. To what? Does it say? It says... To what? To what? It is now $3.167. Good God. It's not that bad. Which is... What? It was like almost $4 two years ago. $3.16 a gallon. They say that that's, yeah, $0.03 higher than last week's, $2.6 above last month, and $0.19 higher than last year. If it says $2, even if it says $2.99.99, I'm like... Yes. If it has a two in it, it's like an urban legend. Score. But if you want to go, the cheapest gas in San Diego is in El Cajon at the Superstar on Main Street and North Marshall Avenue. It's $2.95 there. Wow. Done. Yeah. I got a game there Sunday. I'm going to make it right. $2.95. I'm going to fill up three times if I can. That is great. Most expensive, Pacific Beach, Chevron. Grand. No. No? Garnett. Yeah. Yeah.
Garnett and Ingram, the Chevron, is 267. Or 367, I'm sorry. Oh, my. Yeah. Quite a difference. You know, Costco gas is real cheap, but you've got to wait in line for an hour and a half. It's brutal. It's awful. You run through your whole tank just waiting. Yeah. Yeah, you run through a tank, you park there. Is there anything worse than waiting to get gas? No. Out of the gas station? Come on, dude. You don't need a coffee. There's nothing worse than getting gas to begin with. I know. I hate it. Anything worse than driving up behind somebody that's got the thing in there on auto so it's filling up and they're inside the gas station? Or in their car. I've never seen that, but I have been behind people and they come waltzing out of the place and their gas is done. It's been filled up. I do that. I do that. I do it if I have to get something. Kill two birds with one stone. It's what the snake shop's for. Run in, run out. Maybe you fill up and then you park. Park. What? Who does that? There's like two parking spots. It's a perfect parking spot right in front of the pump. Oh, no way. Two birds, one stone. How long do they take? As quickly as I can get in and out. Oh, wow. Well, you know what? Sometimes you can't. Sometimes there's a line inside.
People really get mad about that? Oh, my gosh. Are you sitting there waiting forever? Sometimes you go in to just buy a can of snuff, and some idiot's buying lottery tickets and scratching them off at the counter, and then he's got to get the mega ball and the quick pick, and then he's got to go through everything, and then he's got to get more scratch-offs. Maybe he's allowed to match your money. How about that? Maybe you should go to a smoke shop, and then you wouldn't have to wait for the lottery guy. Really? A smoke shop? Yeah, Woods. People are in there buying all kinds of stuff. Why don't you look around for a fine tobacco? There's one on every corner. Maybe I'll just pick one. It's hard not to find a gas station around here. That's what happens. You want it cheap. Oh, that's awesome. I just want it fast. I'll pay double. I just want it quickly. Quick, quick, quick. All right, here's a question for you. Let's see what you think about this. And I will watch the faces of people in the studio to see what they think. Which of the following body parts do you think women appreciate the most on a man? Are you ready? Ready. Really? Where is my red pen? Are we asking men? Where is my red pen? Where is my red pen? Oh boy, oh boy. Life saver over there. Close one. The alarm almost went off. I'm sure you could handle pigeons pooping on you. Oh, wow. Easy Queens Leon. That's right. You ready? Okay. Do women like abs, arms, chest, butt, or legs?
Say it again. Abs, arms, chest, butt, or legs. What did they say they liked the most? Butt. It's a tie-up between two. Sienna? See, mine's back, but it's not on there. You like the guy's back the most. I do. I like their heels the most. No, I like a nice, strong back. You know, I like the Achilles tendon. Achilles tendon is really the part that I think... If a guy's got a really strong, muscular Achilles... A back. I like a strong back. But you can't see it, you know, usually. You can see it through the shirt. It's sexy. Yeah, if they grab their shirt and they put it. No, I agree with her. She's right. If you see the muscles in the back. You too. There's a girl in the studio that says that's her favorite body part is the back. I wouldn't say it's my favorite, but I do like it. It's nice and strong.
Carry me over the threshold. On that list, what is your favorite? Abs, arms, chest, butt, legs. I guess I'll say what people probably say. No, no, no. I want to know what you think. Of all those? Arms? I think they say legs. I think they say butt. See, I put arms or butt, but I think I would say arms before butt. Butt, probably. It's arms or butt. I don't know. I don't care about legs. Just give me a back. You guys are all wrong. What is it? Abs. 50% of women said? Abs. I knew it was going to be abs. That's right. I like a... I like a bear belly. Holy cow, Woods. Holy cow, Woods. Read him, read him, and we. Read what? I'm showing his stomach to everyone in the studio. Oh, my gosh, Woods. And they're laughing. Every... How many times... His sunburned belly. He shows that belly every day. How many times a week do we see... He's clapping it. Five times a week. His chest. His wife, seven times a week. Yeah. Oh, my God. Yeah, so I guess I'm out all the way.
I don't agree with that. I wish I had abs. I've always wanted them, but I don't want to work to get them. Lifting cheesecake's not going to do it. Next to abs, it was arms and chest. Then in fourth place, butt and legs came in last. Thank God for that. Women don't care about that. It's unfortunate to have really nice legs. That's unfortunate. This is from askmen.com. Oh my gosh. If you could get away with it, would you punch a colleague in the face? Sienna? Sienna would. Did most people say yes or no? Not a colleague. I like you guys. I know. I wouldn't punch a colleague. I would. Let me guess. L.O.B. would. I think I would, too. You would? Yeah, I think so. If you could get away with it, you would. Sienna, would you? No. I would not. Jay, would you? Punch a colleague? If you could get away with it, would you punch a colleague in the face? Absolutely.
Well, 49% of people agree with you, but 51% of people said no. Oh, please. They would not. I would not. That's someone you have to see every day. Like even, I mean, what's getting away with it? It's always going to be awkward. I think it'd be weird. I think it'd be awesome. You do? The kid is hot tonight, Woods. You know that. That's what he wrote on his little sheet. Wow. That's right. That's going to be my Friday, end of the show song, every Friday. When we come back, I'm going to tell you what airline is allowing you to check in on Facebook next. FM 94.9. Forget it. I want firemen. I want black firemen. He's attractive. Now, where on Mission Gorge? It's one block north of the 8th freeway. Okay. Okay. Hey, question for you, man. Because there was something about Alzheimer's in the news the other day. Did you see that? I did not. There's something in the news about Alzheimer's and that they thought that they found something. Yeah. We had that news story a couple days ago, but we never ended up getting to it. It was something like they can do a spinal, something in your spine. And predict. It's like an epidural, but for everyone. And they can predict whether or not you'll...
Most likely, well, whether or not you'll be diagnosed with Alzheimer's later in life. So you can find out early. Yeah, and I wonder if, you know, what the benefit is. I guess they could put you on some kind of medication early that would help you to not, you know, I don't know. I mean, to make it a better, you know, prepare you for it and make it a lesser. Well, mental exercises you can do to help prevent it too. Yeah, my mom. brushing your teeth with the opposite hand and stuff. That's what they tell my mom is that she's supposed to keep her mind busy. She's supposed to do puzzles, games, all that kind of stuff. Jamie's grandmother has it. It's probably the most heartbreaking thing you've ever seen in your life. Yep. It's terrible. My mom has it as well. Makes me crazy. My girlfriend's father has it, and she gave him a Rubik's Cube, and he loves it. That's awesome. And it really keeps the spine active. And so that's sort of where the idea sprung from. And it's also Marty Emerald's charity, and so we want to donate to that because she's in our district also. That's great. Good for you, man. Very, very cool. I like that. Thank you for calling, man. All right. You guys rock. And Sunday, 12 to 5. We'll see you there. We love it. We love it. Thank you. He says it's on Mission Gorge, and it will be a couple of blocks north of the 8. He's the lead singer. That's just his robe.
Horrific. Yep. Horrific. Maybe bring a scepter. That's tonight at the Tipsy Crow. Love to see you out there. End of the show on Friday, I tell you my story. I give you my testimony and tell you about where I have been in my life. Purpose is to hopefully have some people hear it that can relate to it. And I also tell you my story because hearing somebody's personal story is more effective than anything else. And, you know, people have asked me before, how did it start? How did you start doing that? It started on accident. I started telling you my story on accident. And I realized maybe it can help somebody. Maybe there's somebody that will hear my story and it'll be similar. And they'll say, if it can work for him, it can work for me. When I was a kid, when I was a little kid, I was sexually abused.
And as I got older, without even knowing it, I was trying to cover that up. In fact, I didn't even think about it until I was in my late 20s, early 30s. Didn't really think about it. In fact, I don't think I thought about it until I went to rehab. A lot of times, the stuff that hurts us the most is like if you were to get into a motorcycle accident and slide across the pavement. And if you did that, little pieces of rocks and asphalt gets caught under your skin. And then eventually it scars over. But if you touch it, it hurts. If you touch it in just a particular place, it hurts. That's kind of what it was like for me. It was like that my whole life. So I did all kinds of stuff to try to feel better and basically numb out. I just wanted to numb out. So I would drink and I would do drugs. I would try to distract myself with everything. Girls, everything.
When I was 33 years old, I was desperate alcoholic. What I mean by desperate really is hopeless. Felt like I didn't have anything to look forward to. It was my personal rock bottom. One night I was laying in bed and I invited Jesus Christ into my life. Gave him the steering wheel of my life. And I've been forming a relationship with him ever since. Now, if you're in a place in your life where you feel desperate, If you're in a place in your life where you feel hopeless, maybe you have one of those things that I told you about. You have addiction in your life or you have depression in your life or you have an eating disorder in your life. Nobody knows about it and you're desperate. I want you to know that the way out of it for me was never at the bottom of a bottle. It was never any relationship. It was never any girl. It was not porn. It wasn't anything.
The only thing that ever changed anything in my life, a lifetime of problems, was Jesus Christ. It's the only thing that ever changed anything. I couldn't get enough tattoos to cover up all the different pain that I'd gone through in my life. The only thing that covered it was Jesus Christ. The only thing that covers my sin today is Jesus Christ. The only thing that made me stop being hopeless was Jesus Christ. If you go to my website, mikeyshow.com, up at the top there's a section that says help. Click on that section, and you can find resources to all kinds of different things. Who knows how long I'd ever get to be on the radio? For the time that I do get to be on the radio, I hope I can tell you that. MikeyShow.com, it's called the Help section, and you can get help with all those different things that I talk to you about. At the end of the show on Friday, I play a song, and I want you to really listen to the lyrics because the lyrics are hopeful. And I remember being in my car and hearing these lyrics, and they brought hope to my life just by hearing the words.
The song is called Tunnel. Lovely and talented Hillary is up next. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Come see us tonight, 5 to 7, Tipsy Crow, and we will see you again on Monday. The Mikey Show is out late. The music all day. ZT San Diego. Lincoln Financial Media Station. Mikey in the Morning. About the music all day and night. FM 94.9. It's about the music.
