Monday August 16, 2010
Scary music set to wild animal footage makes Mikey tremble in his lil boots. Woodsy bemoans being the only dude wearing real skinny jeans at the meet and greet and Sienna reports on the tragic events of the crash at the off road race in the desert over the weekend. Tila Tequila got treated to a chaotic barrage of thrown objects (many of them harmful and sickening) when she tried to rap and flash boobs at an Insane Clown Posse Juggalo event. M1 Slide calls in to aptly describe what a Juggalo is. LOB confuses a strip mall with a strip club and Sienna recaps going to the movies with her mom. Poor Lauren got lost in the Horton Plaza parking garage maze. WoS reviews a wild weekend in sports. The panel ponders a 5-day after birth control pill and Rubik’s Cube super geeks. The gang gives play by play on a police chase live on television and ponders the mentality of the person who decides to run from the police by car. Tense audio of Lindsay Lohan’s mama as she tries to paint her daughter as a saint yet double-speaks all over her own excuses and forgets how many rehab opportunities Lindsay has had. Meet and Greet audio is played of Mike and Woods strutting down the street while The Kid’s fly was open and their foray into the bowels of the Tipsy Crow where M1’s greeted them with laughter. Hoyle bitterly complains that “Vinegar” ain’t got enough skills to be in his rap group as the pair argues in auto-tune! WoW gives sound advice on how to pick up waitresses and counter girls, those annoying ride-less roomies, and first date women’s apparel. Who is the biggest pervert on the show? Manly movie lines are the theme of NTT and Jay once again ups the worth of the final points exponentially to try and thwart Woods out of another win. Did it work? A M1 calls in upset with the gang for “always talking about kids” and gets Mikey talking about kids and germs. Even when his own twins eat, Mike is grossed out. Is life in prison appropriate after a lush gets his 9th DWI? An email about a jobber who lied about college experience to get the job is now sweating getting caught. Terri Hatcher’s bizarre photos she released on Tweaker…uh, I mean Twitter is discussed and if you haven’t seen them your stomach acids thank you. Sienna reports on the 12 words most people mispronounce as the cast plays along. Rough Riders Woodsy and Mike sing the praises of Bad Blake. Things women can. Cannot, and shouldn’t even bother to change in a guy reminds us of the power Lauren and Sienna have over the guys on the show. Nobody can bleeping change the bleeping Kid’s mother-bleeping cursing habit! An ‘aaawww’ moment is had with M1 Josiah’s email to his wife. Cheryl Crow demands stuff backstage that can only be found on the highest mountains in Tibet.

Good morning, every Bubba. 602. It's a Mikey show here on a Monday. And we are available for your phone calls right now. 570-1949. Or if you want, you can text us. If you want to text us, it's real easy. It's 949mikey at gmail.com. It's that simple. We'd love to hear from you. It could be about anything you want to talk about. Whatever's going on in your world. Or you can call and ask a question. We'd love to talk to you if you went to the meet and greet on Friday, which was really fun. Oh, it was great. That was awesome. And, yeah, just anything you want to call in and talk about, you can. Don't forget, 7.30 this morning, you're going to hear what happened in the studio with our station manager, Hoyle and Woods. Their new band is Hoyle and Vinegar.
So you'll get to hear what happened in the studio. By the way, the word of the day today is hamburger. So when you hear us use the word hamburger in a sentence and work it into a sentence, caller number 95701949, you will win a prize. What do we got, Jay? Tickets to the San Diego Wild Animal Park. Sweet! Still haven't been there. I want to go. Oh, you got to go. I want to go. I heard it's awesome. This weekend on High Definition, I saw this new show called The Speed of Life where they go into Africa and all these different parts and they film these animals in super slow-mo. I can't get enough of that stuff. I'm just imagining you. I know. Oh, I was so engrossed. And, you know, the only thing is that I wish that I could have it my way, like Burger King. I wish that I could have the show the way that I want it. They played really scary music and it scared me. Wow. It scared me. It did. It kind of frightened me. And I thought to myself, this is a little spicier than I need it. You know, like, you know, if I was putting hot sauce and I was shaking hot sauce onto a taco, this is too much hot sauce shaked on there. Was it like when lions were on or something?
To make it real dramatic? Ferrets. Every animal. They would do it for every animal. That's unnecessary. So they would show spiders and they would play this really... It would be like... Forget it. Oh, it was creepy. I hate close-ups of spiders. Oh, yeah. All their eyes. Their legs. Hair. It was hair. Their hair and their face. With their facey eyes and their eyesy faces. Fangs. Gross. So anyway, call us up 570-1949 or text us. The meet and greet was great. Home run. Yeah. A little bit later, we're going to play you audio from the meet and greet where we walked in wearing skinny jeans. Mortifying. Well, one of us did. One of us just wore some regular old chinos. One of us wore skinny jeans. Woodsy. Dude. Mine were skinny. Yours are skinny jeans. They were skinnier than usual, but they were not skinny jeans. Yes, they were. Woodsy is so upset about this. Everybody was coming up to me like, those aren't skinny jeans. Really? And Jay's, too. Jay's were. They're like, look at Jay's bunch. He had 15 rolls from his calf on down. I'm like, yeah, those are super tight. I did have one person.
There was one person that said to me that you were the only one wearing skinny jeans, which I really silently resented because I felt that I was wearing skinny jeans. You were wearing skinny jeans. You were wearing skinnier jeans. Let's call them skinnier. Rebecca even took in Mike's jeans. Oh, I know she did. At the ankles. It made them tighter. So there was effort involved. The ones I had were painted. Yeah, they were. Yeah, for sure. Jamie said when you tried them on, you were upstairs, and she heard a loud scream. She said, there's a woman in the house. I screamed every curse word that you could imagine. Screamed at the top of my lungs. Name it. And I said it. I was like, I'm not doing this! So we'll play the audio from that. You looked good. I'm telling you, you didn't even look bad. I hated it. I hated every second that I was in there, though I loved seeing everybody. I was like, get me out of here, get me out of here, get me out of here. I'm just kind of glad it's over, though. You guys have been whining and complaining for the last two or three years. I'm with you on that. Never again. They wore these skinny jeans because I had hidden audio of Mike, who said, you know, Lauren offered up eating tofu for lunch. Mike said, I would wear skinny jeans before I ate tofu.
We never ate the tofu, so hidden audio captured, Mike. I'd still wear skinny jeans over tofu. Every single person, by the way, was like, I love the hidden audio. I had my recorder in my purse. I was showing it to people. They were like, oh, like holding it up. I would now rather eat tofu than do the skinny jeans. You guys are babies. Sienna's been pregnant for nine months. I know. I've heard less about her baby woes than your skinny jeans. That's true. Yeah, guys. Man up. That's women and men, man. Men are complainers. Women are. Not. Kimberly liked me in my pants, so whatever. In and out of my pants. Jay has said that maybe 15 times. Kim really liked me in my skinny jeans. We got it, bud. Why don't you get a billboard, bro? I know. Can we? Why don't you keep it at home? The billboard just says, Kim really liked me in my skinny jeans. And people are talking and they're going, have you guys seen that billboard on the 5 that says, Kim really liked me in my skinny jeans? Yeah, my fake skinny jeans. Yeah. They're regular jeans. They were like four sizes too big. Yes, they were. That is the size I wear. Yeah, but in regular. I don't know. 5701949. Hey, listen. If you are just waking up and you have not heard this very sad story where it's the front page of the Union Tribune today. Very sad story. CNN, National News. Yeah.
about these men from Escondido that were killed in a crash that was supposed to be good times for everybody. And what happens, Sienna? Well, basically, I mean, we've all heard of these off-road races that happen in the desert. This was in the Mojave Desert, San Bernardino County, on Saturday night. And people, you know, there's crowds of 200 that were there. And there's these big trucks and big cars, and they race. It's legal, by the way. In fact, sanctions. Yeah, it is legal. And what happened is, is one of the drivers got out of control. Car... went flipped and went right into the audience. Now, there's no guardrails in the desert. People are just, you know, crowded around these sectioned areas for cars to be driving. And this car flew right into the audience and killed eight people. Three of them were three men from Escondido. One of the men, this is so sad, his girlfriend was right behind him holding the three-year-old son, his three-year-old son. And she and the little boy were okay, but like...
Right in front of them, the dad died, you know, because the car landed on him. Just so, so, so devastating. The driver, his name was Brett Sloppy, 38 years old from San Marcos. He's okay. Yeah. You know, imagine this guy waking up the next morning and you've killed eight people and you're OK. You know, I mean, it was obviously an accident. Yeah. Still his Facebook. He wrote a message saying so incredibly lost and devastated. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the families and friends involved. Thank you to all my friends for sticking with me even through these tragic times. I love you all. Oh, very sad story. So sad. And like Sienna said, it's making global news today. Yeah. Because of, you know, how tragic. was yeah well you know and i know it hit home for a lot of our listeners because i mean i know two guys um m1 dc was one of them and um garrett and garrett foster and you know garrett was at my house this weekend you know i mean and he lost a couple buddies and um man it was it was really sad to hear these guys talk about i mean this is a this is a way of life in a um um an event that i'm not super familiar with and and you know the
The tragedy that happened was just so catastrophic. Sienna said there was a couple hundred people there and eight of them passed away. Terrible. It's scary that that kind of stuff happens and there's no protection for the audience. It's even crazier that this hasn't happened before. The audience knows exactly that they're in danger and that's kind of the adrenaline rush for them as well. They know that they're right on the edge. It's the chance they take. I've seen them do this in Europe, too. In Europe, they'll have these races. Even, I think, in the Baja 500, spectators are right along the side of the road. I've been down there for that. It's crazy. Yeah. And it is. It's part of the adrenaline rush. It's like everybody's kind of sharing in it. It's just too bad. It's just this terrible thing that happened. You know, I'm sure it affected a lot of our listeners. Hey, Mikey, I posted on the Mikey Show Facebook the donations for Brian Wolfson's family. You can donate right on there. That's great. Go to Facebook.com slash Mikey Show and find the Mikey Show on Facebook. Become a fan. Yeah, all three guys in their 20s, Brian Wolfson, Anthony Sanchez, and Aaron Farkas. Very sad. Well, you know, and I'm sure they're going to make some changes now.
how they run that deal. I mean, they have to, don't they? I don't think they can. For it to be legal, they're not going to keep that legal if that many people die. Well, and that's the thing. It's like, I definitely think that they're going to take a look at it. The problem with doing anything about it is that that's a part of it. It's almost like that's a big part of it is that people get to spectate the way they do. Yeah, and it's an amateur deal. What I read is that it's an amateur event. Okay, so these guys aren't... professionals per se um so i don't know man i i you know hey if i had a kid i don't think i'd let him go out there oh man watch that thing you know as cool as it is and as awesome as it is to watch um man that's just a risk i don't think i'd take i'm so you know when it comes to to to the safety thing yeah i'm an overreactor me too and so i would probably overreact with my kids and be like you ain't going to that yeah you know yep but away yeah you know oh man Sad. Very sad. Then the other big story, there was pretty big stories that happened over the weekend, and the Chargers played some football, so Woodsy will be talking about that and Woods on Sports in just a bit, and whether or not the Chargers won or lost, and also, how did Ryan Matthews look, the rookie? Yeah. So we'll get to that. Remember the Craigslist killer? This was the creep that went online to Craigslist, found girls in the exotic...
the personal ads, lured them to a hotel room, and they killed them. He killed one that was a New York masseuse that had traveled to Boston after he contacted her in Craigslist. And he'd also attacked two other women that he met through Craigslist. And he's been in jail since about April 2009, over a year. His name is Philip Markoff, and he committed suicide yesterday morning in jail. In his cell, right? Yeah, totally alone in his cell. And as far as the evidence indicates, it was suicide. Yeah. Now, he had pled not guilty, but usually the suicide leads you to believe that he was guilty and that he wanted it off himself before the trial. Yeah, and you know one of the things that I ran across this weekend, because I was fascinated by this case. I thought it was, you know, anytime somebody has that double life, you know, that they're leading. This guy was a med student. He was engaged. Very pretty fiance. The day they were supposed to get married was Saturday. Yeah, so he killed himself the day after. The day after. He was supposed to be married and having a new family and all that, and nope. Wow. I know. Sad. Yeah, it is. But good, I guess. I don't know. I don't know how I would feel about it if I was the victim's parents, you know? 570-1949. You can give us a call, or if you want to text us, 949mikey at gmail.com.
Tila Tequila. This is another huge story right now. I mean, everywhere. Over the weekend, she was performing at a concert in Illinois. Not only is she a Playboy model and reality TV star, but apparently she can rap or sing as well. Now, what I know her most as, first of all, Tila Tequila became popular for a reality show on MTV. Yeah, a shot of love with Tila Tequila. Which I never saw a moment of it. Never saw one second of it. Sorry, sorry. Now, what was the idea that they would have? It was kind of like The Bachelor, but kind of a skanky version of it. The skanky Bachelor. It was a skanky Bachelor, exactly. Well, she lived in this mansion that they got for her, and she paraded around in her bathing suit, and there was like 40 guys there initially, and they got eliminated through the weeks. Like they all slept in the same room. And wasn't it guys and girls? And she was like bisexual. Yes, guys and girls. And they had one huge bed for all the contestants. Tila had her own room. But all these guys and girls slept in the same giant bed. What a nightmare. It was, yeah. And they would basically just go through like competitions like eating.
gross stuff and drinking and being in their bathing suits. Everyone was like naked the whole time practically. And so the end was, you know, you don't know, is she going to pick a guy? Is she going to pick a girl? Like who's going to win her heart? Yeah. There was two seasons. It was awful. Yeah, sounds like a must-miss for me. Yeah. For sure. What do you mean, Mike? You don't have that on DVD? Right up your alley. Yeah, I don't have the first season on DVD. Bar of mine. I'll get it for you for your birthday. I know, there you go. Well, then she became well-known because the whole Sean Merriman thing. Oh, yeah. Sean Merriman was kind of seeing her, and she accused him of assault, which was later the whole thing was thrown out of court. Yep. You know, I remember during that time talking to Sean about it, and she was drunk, and he didn't want her leaving the house and getting killed, and it's on him. And so he was...
trying to keep her there at the house, and she turned into a big mess. It was a big mess. Well, on Saturday, early Saturday, she was performing in Illinois, got on stage in front of everyone. Second she walks on stage, people start screaming and throwing rocks and bottles at her. Oh, my gosh. Yeah, and, I mean, you want to laugh because it's tequila, but it was actually pretty bad. I mean, her face was bleeding, crazy stuff. And what does this girl do to try to stop them from throwing things at her? You know, just show her boobs. Flash them. Yeah. Yeah! You know, like that's going to stop them. So she does that. It gets even worse. They start throwing more stuff. Woodsy was telling me, he read an article where they're throwing... feces at her and a watermelon that was soaked in urine. People had been soaking it for a week to throw at her. Disgusting, dude. This was her show? It was Insane Clown Posse. It's called The Gathering of the Juggalos. I don't know what that is, but she was performing there. I think she was in an MC role, maybe. She was going to come out and like...
Yo, this is my... Because I looked at her Twitter. I saw this thing yesterday. I was like, oh, disgusting. So I looked at her Twitter and she's like, yeah, insane clown posse. This is going to be crazy. It's going to be off the hook and all this stuff. And then she goes out and you see her. She starts rapping. And it's awful, awful. And they're like, hey, show your whatever. And so she's like, she keeps rapping and then they start just... throwing everything at her and she stays out there for a while and tries to continue but then you know people are throwing firecrackers and stuff crazy stuff at her so she runs off goes in her trailer everyone not everyone but a lot of people follow her to her trailer, shaking the trailer, pushing it, breaking the windows. I mean, she's inside and she gets away and she's okay. You know, she has some cuts and bruises and stuff, but man, it was, it was not good. It was not good at all for her. I don't know. I, you know, honestly, to me, it's not really like what, what the, the first thing I think is I don't really think that people are necessarily mad at her.
It sounds like people are mad. Just angry. Just in general. And it was a reason. That show was crazy anyway. Insane Clown Posse. Insane Clown Posse. Those guys aren't hanging out smoking close cigarettes. You know what I mean? You think there was a lot of anger in that crowd? All their songs are about, I'll slit your throat and swim in your blood. Oh my gosh. Oh, it's insane. Well, she got on Twitter that same day, Teala Tequila, and said that she's going to be suing the festival. Yep. Wow. Man. Yeah, I mean, she posted a picture of herself. That's what I was thinking. I was like, man, this is sad. It's terrible. She posted a picture, and you could see a gash in her cheek and blood just coming down. I mean, people are throwing everything at her. I mean, she's ridiculous, but nobody deserves that. No. No, of course not. I mean, it's terrible. It's awful. Let's see. Mikey Show, who's this? Garrett. Garrett? Yep. Hey, Garrett, what's going on? Hey, guys. What's up? I just want to say God bless to the... ones that were passed this weekend in the off-road race. Yes. And if anyone wants to make a donation, it's www.fast-aid.org. There you go. And I know Jay posted it on our Facebook fan page, so people can go there, too, to check it out if they want to donate. Millen Family is donating. BJ Baldwin, Chad Ragland, all the top namers of Florida. Okay. Thank you, man. Appreciate it.
Thank you, guys. Thank you. M1Slide, you there? I am. What's going on? Too much. Love listening to the show, even though I'm across the country. Thank you, bro. Yeah. I wanted to let you guys know what a juggalo was and why that probably happened. Okay. Oh, boy. Have you seen Insane Clown Posse? You know they do the crazy clown makeup? Yes. All their fans do that, too. They're the guys in the dark clothes, look kind of dirty. Right. Scary. Yeah, flashing is probably the worst thing she could do. They went there planning to hurt her. Weird. Why is flashing the worst thing she could have done? It enraged them. It enraged them. She's kind of like everything, you know, in society they don't like. She's the anti-insane clown posse. Basically. Yeah, wow. I wonder if that's... I wonder why they had her there. Yeah, it sounds like, I mean, it sounds like a setup. Yeah. It sounds like a setup, like they thought it would be funny or they thought it would be cool to have her go there so that they could make a fool of her. The gathering of it was kind of like a...
GWAR concert for the less educated. And I know GWAR is hardcore. Oh, dude. You guys know GWAR? No. I'll show you a picture at the break. You'll die. Yeah, but they're more amusing than, I mean, these guys. Clown posse is insane. Yeah. Well. Scary. I like a little bit of their music. It all sounds very different from my weekend. I know. A little bit. A little bit. Yeah. A little bit. Yeah, I was not at the insane clown posse juggalo. You were with the insane jester posse. Let's be clear about that. Yes, 100%. I was in bed, nursing a cold, on antibiotics, watching high-definition spiders getting their prey. Jay's sick, too. You guys are freaking me out. Oh, jeez. Perfect. Maybe... I stay away from you. I was in bed most of Saturday, but I think it was my allergies. Well, I think I had a sinus infection, but I don't know anything. I don't know. I had razors in my throat. Oh, yeah. You don't sound good. I feel dynamite. Do you? Yeah. That's good. Better knock on wood. Knock on wood. Oh, gosh. I'm scared being next to you. Well, I'm feeling a lot better. Good. Thank you. And next week, I'm having surgery, so I better get better quick. Yeah, for sure. Well, let's do this. We got so much stuff, man. We have so, so much.
Just material today. Don't forget the word of the day is hamburger. So when you hear the word hamburger worked into a sentence, be caller number nine at 570-1949. And caller number nine wins what, Jay? Wild Animal Park. Wild Animal Park. There you go. All right, so let's get this thing going. It's a Mikey show. It's a Mikey show. It's a Mikey show. It's a Mikey show. It's a Mikey show. It's very exciting. I know it. Coming up this morning at 7.30, we're going to be playing the new song from Hoyle and Vinegar. It ain't the song. You're going to play what happened in the studio. We ain't got no song. You don't have a song? No. No, why is there no song? I thought you guys were working on a jam. Let's just put it this way. He's hard to work with. Yeah, and Hoyle and Vinegar.
May not last. It's not going to be a lasting duo. It may not last. Yeah. The first tour they do is going to be a reunion tour. Exactly. Good one. Exactly. Thank you. Where's your horn, Hoyle? Yeah, where is my horn, man? I don't know. What happened to my comedy props? We got rid of those long ago. That's right. You had him sitting on a big beanbag chair in the corner. You didn't have room for it. Oh, man. I need a beanbag. Me too. I would love to do this. Beanbag chair or beanbag? I would love to do this show from a beanbag chair. It would be so comfy. Oh, yeah. I hate beanbag chairs. I love them. How come? Get all like. That's sacrilege. Yeah. You can never get comfortable. It's like. You know what I do hate about them, though? Isn't every position comfortable? No. That's all good. But if you're wearing, like, shorts or something and your skin is rubbing and you sweat, you're like, ah! That is gross. Well, then, like, it gets all flat in certain parts and bunched up in other parts. But I thought that was the appeal. Yeah. I thought the appeal is that no matter where you sit, you mold into it and you squeeze your hands and you squeeze in those little white beads inside. I mean, on the beanbag chair. I hate when there's a little tear.
Yeah, there's always a little tear. Always a little tear. Have you been on the love sack that's got little rubber things inside of it? Love sacks are great, by the way. What is it? It's like a fancy bean bag. Yeah, it's super fancy. You guys ever been to like a, I call them ghetto malls, but you ever been to like a mall that doesn't have like the traditional stores in them? Are you talking about like a strip club? No, a mall. I'm like a mall. Like where you walk in and there's like... Yeah, what I meant was a strip club. Not even close, but what I mean is like when you walk in those malls, they have like... Hey, there's a store that you can get airbrushed T-shirts. Right, right, right. You know what I mean? Sure. Or the hats with the metal on the front. Yeah, a place where you get, like, Al Pacino as Scarface airbrushed onto a T-shirt. Exactly. And so they have those, like, love sack stores in there. And you're like, oh, they're so comfortable. And they're so expensive. They are. They're like $300 or something. Are they really? Yeah, and that's a small one. And you get all the different sizes. They've got, like, four-person beanbag chairs. Yeah. Four-person? Yeah, yeah. Maybe we make that right. Wow.
How about we all get lean bags? That would make us really even closer. There's not a chance I'm sitting on a lean bag chair with you guys. What are you going to get, like, a leopard print? We're all going to spoon. Velvet carpet? Yep. We're going to spoon real sweetly. Not a chance. She's not going to sit there with us. No way. So, Sienna finally saw that movie Charlie St. Cloud. I did? You did? This weekend. I went with my mom. She didn't say a word about it. Remind me what this is. Zac Efron. Two hours of your life you'll never get back. Oh, yeah. Yeah. It's that movie that you see the preview and you're like, oh, I'm going to be a goner and cry throughout the entire thing. He's driving in the car with his little brother. They get in an accident. You know that the brother's going to die. Right. And it's his struggle getting over it, you know? And he sees his brother. Yeah. It doesn't suck. Sees his brother out in the forest and he goes and he plays ball with his little brother who passed away. And, I mean, just watching the trailer, you're like, It's the most sad, depressing thing I've ever seen. What do you call it? Emotional terrorism. Emotional terrorism. No one would go with me, so I called my mom yesterday morning. I was like, Mom, you want to go see a movie? Mom. Mom. Mom. And she was like, yeah, sure, what movie? And I said Charlie St. Cloud, and she didn't know what it was. Yeah. But she just wanted to go to a movie with me, you know?
So she went and we're sitting here. You trapped her. I did. I did. That's the beauty of a mother, man. She's like, where are we going? Yeah, let's go. Get your oil change? Sure. She came and picked me up. It was great. She paid, I'm sure. No, actually, I treated her. Oh, did you? She went with me. I felt bad. She didn't know what she was walking into. Yeah. And as the previews are starting, she's like, so what is this movie about anyway? You're like, it's called Paranormal Activity. And I kind of filled her in. She's like, Sienna, you took me to that movie? Oh, my gosh. She's like, I'm going to be a goner. I'm going to be a goner. And we actually, she cried a little bit. I didn't even cry. What? I know. It wasn't really that sad. Really? It was sad. I don't know. It wasn't as good as I wanted it to be. Of course not. Zac Efron's in it. Zac Efron, though. Man, is he a good looking guy. Sharp kid. Even my mom was like, wow. How old is that cat? He's like 20.
Four. Okay. I don't know. He is a good-looking guy. I thought he was like 14. No. Me too. No, he's getting older. And I'm just sitting here all quiet like, wow, Sienna's really into a 14-year-old. No, it made me uncomfortable a little bit because he was drinking wine in the movie. I'm like, you're not old enough to drink wine. Yeah, you're just a little boy. This is throwing me off. Like, maybe a beer, I understand, but a glass of wine? Oh, my gosh. I know. Who was it? Okay, I think it was, yeah. Lauren watched movies all weekend, and so did Jay. Weird. I should have because I was sick. I watched documentaries. Weird. Weird. So Lauren saw Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. I saw part of it, yeah. Oh, my gosh. So did Jay. Really? That's weird. Listen to this. Jay wasn't feeling well. He saw the movie Boondock Saints 2. Confessions of a Shopaholic. Wow. Oh, my God. I couldn't even get through that one. Choke. What Happens in Vegas. Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Oh, my God. And Aliens vs. Monsters. Wow. Good Lord. My goodness. That's a marathon. I watched one movie not even all the way. Yeah. I couldn't get out of my chair. I sat there and watched movies. That's a successful day right there. I watched Crazy Heart again. Weird.
Really? Yeah. Watch it again. It's a good movie. It's a great movie. By the way, we are going to go and play audio from the meet and greet in a little while. And what it was like when we walked in in our skinny jeans. Torture. Lauren got lost trying to leave the meet and greet in the parking garage. That's real sweet. My team just left me behind. Yeah, we did. Third time in a row. You know, your team, well, at least my part of the team, said to you, Hey, are you going to go? We're going to go. And you go, no, I think I'm going to stick around for a little while. Well, I was in the middle of conversations with M1s. I didn't want to rudely. Well, how did I, how did we leave you if I say, hey, Lauren, you know, we're going to get going. The rule was no man left behind. Was that? So, oh, so the proper thing would have been to say, okay, well, then we'll stay until you're done visiting and you're done doing your thing. And then we'll all go together. Is that what should have happened? I didn't want to be rude. I didn't know you were being rude. I didn't know you were. Honestly, I didn't know. I thought it was. I got a text later. I was like, oh, boy. I did, too. Every time we leave a meet and greet, I'm the last one there. And we always say, we can't leave Lauren by herself. We can't leave Lauren by herself. But every time. You're right. We shouldn't. But here will be the new thing. The new thing will be, hey, Lauren, you got to wrap up, you know. Okay. We're out. Yeah, so we can go.
Because we had stayed a while. I thought we stayed past the meeting. We did. See, but that's what I did. You guys were like, oh, we're out. And I said, oh, okay. And I was talking to people. I was like, oh, I guess Todd, we're going to head out too. My phlegmy lungs were on fire. I'm like, we got to go. I thought about it, but it was Liberty's birthday. We had to go meet for dinner. And I'm the only one that shows up by myself and leaves by myself. Yeah. So what happened? I walked out with a couple M1s to the parking garage. Yeah. And then I was like, oh, there's my floor. I'll see you later. Ten minutes later, still walking around. Ran into a couple other M1s that I had seen like ten minutes prior to that. What do you mean? You mean you were lost in the actual garage? Yeah. Not even in your car. You mean...
I couldn't find my car. Because it was five tomato was where I was parked. I was like, oh, that really helped. That's the mall. What were we? We were too orange. We were too orange. I got a spot right in front on the street. I did too, on the street. I didn't even try to go past the street. Did you get to that point where you, because when you're looking for your car, there comes a point where there's levels, okay? There's frustration, okay? And then after frustration is worry. Yes. Okay? And then after worry comes panic. Panic. Yep. Full arm panic. I was like, I thought for sure I got towed. Because I was like, I know it was here. I know it was here. And then the added pressure of I had then the two M1s walking committed to helping me find my car. So then I had the added pressure of, okay, now I've got two other people's borrowed time. And I'm trying to find my car. That's awkward. You're like, you guys can go. It's okay. I'll find it. It's very awkward. No. Very awkward, very frustrating. It's terrible. Losing your car wins a Padres game on a school night one night. And I was like, I'm going to be out of there by 8 o'clock. Got out to the garage at 8. Still walking around at 8.30 looking for my car. Beating myself in the face. Well, my validation ran out. Did it really? Yeah, because I couldn't find it. So I had to pay then. Yeah, it cost me a small fortune to pay too. Oh my gosh. It's ridiculous.
I hate looking for a car. I hate parking garages. Me too. If you guys had iPhone, they have a free app. They do? To find your car. Really? No. How does that work? Yeah, you hit the app when you get out of your car, and then when you leave wherever you're going, you just hit the app again and it takes you right to your car. That may be enough to sell me on the iPhone for good. It's pretty cool, right? I'm going to get that. That is the... Two out of three meet and greets where I've lost my car and been by myself. How come you lose your car? Because I'm an idiot. Maybe we all carpool. That's a good idea. I'm crazy for feeling. I went by myself again. Wow. It sounds like you had a rough night. One can only get rejected so many times before they stop asking. That's the truth. That's true. We do ask you all the time. When was the last time you asked me to do anything? I don't know. Friday night? When? Didn't we ask you? Nope, I asked you guys. We all went to a party called the Lauren's Not Gonna Be Here Party. It was a big blowout. I asked you guys if we were going to dinner. No, we weren't. Nope. No dinner. Cubby was sick. Yeah. I wasn't feeling so hot. I was feeling a little under the weather. My wife was upset because she was starving. Yeah, man. We were all like... Yeah, me too. I didn't eat until like 9.30 and I went to the only place that was open. What was it? Acadia Pizzeria. Delicious.
Good pizza. I hit a jack in the box. I got a milkshake. It was awesome. Called Sips. Why does late night food taste so good? I know. It's so good. It's so good for you to eat a lot of ground beef and then go to sleep. I had a chicken parm. I was like, could I have anything heavier? Oh, my gosh. Did you have nightmares? Yes, I did. Both nights, actually. My brother told me if you have a heavy meal and go to sleep, you have nightmares. Spicy food, too. Yep. All right. I'm completely lost. I feel like I'm foggy. I'm on cold medicine right now. Sports, right? Yeah. Are we ready? Let's do a little, let's do a little sports. I was watching this show this weekend about the green berets and what they go through to become a green beret. And these guys were so out of their minds from exercise. They go, they're taking this one guy out of there and they go. What day is it? And he goes, Hash Bruns. It's so great. It's so great. Woods on Sports is brought to you by our friends at Clearview Eye and Laser Medical Center. What a weekend in sports. I don't even know where to start, but I think I'll start with the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. I have never seen anything like this. What happened yesterday? So Dustin Johnson is leading, and he shanks the ball off to the right, and he goes to play the ball.
And there are over 1,000 bunkers, sand traps on this course. Well, he's in what looks like sand. But what it was really was a patch that had been worn down because he hit it into the crowd. Right. Okay, so it wasn't on the course per se. Yeah. But he was still in bounds. Yeah. Goes up, hits his ball, finishes the hole, whatever. He misses a three-footer for the championship. Right. So they grab him after his round. They're like, hey, come with us. Pull him into the clubhouse. They're showing him video. You cannot put your club on the sand. if you're in a trap. But he's like, I didn't think I was in a trap. And they call that grounding it. They call it grounding your club, two-stroke penalty. So if he had made that putt, he would have been like, I'm the PGA champion. And they would have been like, yeah, no, you're not. Oh, my gosh. I had my hands over my mouth. I was watching for this poor guy. Because did you see it when he did it? And did you in your head go, oh, my gosh, I think he just grounded it. No, because he wasn't in a trap. He was in a worn-down piece of grass that had turned into Dirt and sand. So he's like, man, you know, I've been playing golf. I know there is. I got a little audio from here in a minute. But what happened was Martin Kamer from Germany ended up winning in a playoff against Bubba Watson. Should have been a three-man playoff. This guy had to go hit the showers. That's Dustin Johnson. They're playing, doing the playoff, and he's in the shower. Really? It was brutal. Here he is on the penalty. Cut one. Well, yeah, he said, Nick and Dustin, come here. We got an issue. He said, you know, I think you grounded your club in the bunker. I'm like.
What bunker? And so, but then, you know, we looked at it on the TV, and I definitely got in my club, which, I mean, I never denied. Oh, my gosh. He didn't think he was in a sand trap, and nobody else did either. The commentators were like, it sounded like somebody got shot. They were like, oh, my God, I can't believe this is happening. But it was a very memorable last, you know, hour to the PGA Championship. So, German Martin Kamer does win. Also, the Padres. Had a huge series with the Giants. And if you guys remember Friday, we were talking about the Giants pitcher, Jonathan Sanchez, said, hey, we're going to play the Padres for three games, and we're going to win all three. Yeah. They won one. So the Padres won two out of three from the Giants at their house. Nice. They beat the guy that was running mouth, Jonathan Sanchez. It was really – I watched the whole game yesterday. It was awesome. They're three and a half games up in the West. Here's Bud Black on the Giants, though. Cut two. I mean, they're a good team. There's no doubt. And they've added to their roster. with a great deal of experience and talent, they're not going anywhere. But that pitching and that lineup, you know, they're a good team, and we don't take anything that we've done in the past for granted. Yeah, it was – what a series, man. Beat Linscombe yesterday. It was filthy. That's awesome. Also, preseason football this weekend, the Chargers.
Heard they played a pretty good game. I didn't know because I couldn't watch it, but I read that they played really well. They won 25-10 over the Bears. The defense forced two turnovers, had six sacks. So everybody wanted to know, Ryan Matthews, how's he going to look? He looked great. He averaged 7.1 yards a carry, was catching balls out of the backfield too. Here he is on the game slowing down for him. Cut three. You know, it was going fast at first. You know, the first couple carries was real fast. And then, you know, it started slowing down a little bit, you know, a little bit. But like I said, it's still going to take some time for me to really get adjusted in there. Now, do you girls know how sexist? Do you girls know what he means by that? I was just thinking, listening to his voice, thinking he sounds so young. He is young. Yeah, he is. Young kid. What he means when he says that the game slowed down. The biggest thing that the college kids say when they come to the NFL. is how fast it is in the NFL. Speed, man. Everybody is twice as fast. Yeah. And the game itself moves quickly. Yep. And so when a guy can say, hey, it's slowing down for me. Like a quarterback drops back and he's looking and he's like, I got this. You know, everything is, he can see it finally. And that's what Ryan was saying is that when the first couple carries, he was like, oh my gosh, this is really fast.
The more the game goes on, the slower it gets for them, which is good. That's what you want. Really good. Man, I'm fired up for football season. I wasn't really in, but after watching some games and stuff this weekend, I'm on board. Tim Tebow had a nice game last night, too. That was cool. He had like a 10, 12-yard run last play of the game, and he dove in and knocked this dude out. It was pretty solid. Yeah, that's going to be fun to watch, man. Yeah, it is. I'm excited. You know what gets me fired up? What? When I hear that. Oh, for sure. And then also, guys, Monday Night Football is tonight. It's going to be your old boy, LaDainian, and his Jets taking on the Giants at the new $1.6 billion Meadowlands Stadium. Do you think they're going to have that Faith Hill singing before? Oh, yeah. I want that to go away. Yeah, I'm not a fan. Does it count as Monday Night Football? Yeah. It's preseason. It's Monday night. Monday Night Football? Monday Night Football is not the big thing anymore, though. Now it's Sunday Night Football. ESPN is the Monday Night, and that's something weird about ESPN having Monday Night Football. I know. That's Woods on sports. The panel is where we talk about stuff that's going on, and we get 20 seconds to discuss me, Woodsy, and L.O.B. By the way, I got an email, kind of angry, from a listener who said that I was using improper grammar when I do the panel.
And Woodsy's an English major. He said it's improper grammar for me to say myself, Woodsy, and Lauren, which makes me feel so foolish because I'm pretty good at, you know, with the grammar. You should always put me last. Me or I. So you go Woodsy. Woodsy, Lauren, and I. Woodsy, Lauren, and I. Actually, and me. I think it's I. The panel is... Woodsy, Lauren, or Brian, and I. Now, what is a proper way to use the word myself? Me, myself, and I. Is that it? I don't remember. Woodsy, Lauren, and myself. Oh, wow. That's good. Whatever that meant. I don't know. Somebody will let us know, I'm sure. Yeah, that dude. I want to know. You know, he thought, well, that's great. Well, tell me at least how to use myself. You should always put your... Me, myself, or I last after anybody else. And then the way to know whether or not you use me or I is to take the rest of the sentence out. I love that. Take the rest of the sentence out. And so give me an example of how the panel should sound. The panel is me. You wouldn't say the panel is I. Right. Yeah, you're right. That's right. That's exactly right. That's cool. So the panel is Woodsy, Lauren O'Brien, and me. There you go. There you go, Mike. I got it. I'll never forget that. Yeah, right.
No, English is the only subject that I was ever really, really good at. I don't remember a lot of the grammar rules, man. I really don't. And it's kind of like the spelling bee we did last week. It's a lot easier to write them than it is to spell them out loud. Okay, 20 seconds on each topic. The first one up is something called the Ella contraceptive. Yes. Ella. Ella. Well, the Food and Drug Administration approved this new emergency contraceptive pill on Friday. Now, it's sold under the name Ella, E-L-L-A, and can prevent pregnancy up to five days after having sex, which is two days longer than the Plan B morning after pill. So this is a, you know, it's a morning after pill. We all know what a morning after pill is. But it's pretty crazy because... Taking it five days after? That's kind of pushing it. So there's, you know, people, abortion opponents are saying that this pill, Ella, could cause a fertilized egg from implanting in the uterus or dislodge one that has already been implanted. Oh, boy. Yeah. And it's unknown if that could happen because Ella has never been tested that way. Woodsy, what do you think of that? Pass. I don't know, man. You know, the...
Maybe just stick to the pill. I don't know. I don't know what to say. I'm at a loss, dude. I really am. I don't know. I've always been afraid of those morning after pills because it just doesn't seem right. But I don't know. I feel like leave it up to the medical experts. I mean, if it is destroying an already fertilized egg, then that doesn't seem right. It just seems weird. Five days after, it's like, whew. It's awful. It's just terrible, and I don't like it. And the reason that it seems bad is because it's bad. Yeah. Plan B, the morning after pill that's been around for a long time. How about stick to plan A? Oh, gosh. How about we don't have to move to plan B? Plan B is over the counter for women 17 and older, and Ella, you would require a prescription. Yeah. Oh, boy. Oh, my gosh. I know. It's touching. One of those things guys just don't want to hear about. Reset.
This is polar opposite. This next one is polar opposite in content. It's the absolute lightest thing there can be. Yeah. Rubik's Cube. We all remember the Rubik's Cube. Of course. Which I guess you could still get, right? Yeah, absolutely. Oh, yeah. Try to get like the digital app. Yeah. They still sell it? Yeah. Can you buy the show? Yeah, you can go to Toys R Us and get it. Nice. They still have that? Well, could any of you solve the Rubik's Cube? Come on. Apparently there's different ways to solve it. There's not just one go-to way. And so an international team of researchers have been, you know, studying the Rubik's Cube for like 15 years to try to find out how many different ways it can be solved. And they found out it can be solved in 20 moves or less. Wow. Maybe cure AIDS. 20 moves. But, you know, every solver of the cube uses an algorithm, and there's all kinds of different algorithms. But it took 15 years for them to figure them all out, and they won't disclose how many or how powerful they are. The Rubik's Cube is really good for people with Alzheimer's. No, I agree. Can I tell you this, though? The current world record holder, he...
Can solve the puzzle in 7.08 seconds. How do you do that? So they always arrange the same way then? What do you mean? The squares? No, well, yeah, I think there's a lot of different ways to do it. They're saying they won't tell you how many different ways there are, but you can solve it in 20 moves or less. Mm-hmm. Woodsy, were you good at those fads like the Rubik's Cube, the Hacky Sack, the 80s? Did you even do them? I'll tell you, I had a Rubik's Cube and my buddy and I, we figured out a way to solve it too. We took all the stickers off of it and then put them on the right way. That's how we solved the Rubik's Cube. I took it apart. I just took it apart. Oh, and I've done that too. Take the rubber bands. Yeah. The beating that thing was, man. I'll never forget getting one. I was like, oh, this is rad. Five minutes, I was like, I'm done. Yeah. Where's the girls at? 100%. He didn't answer the question. Yeah, I did it. I did it. But were you good at this? No. No. I told you I did it. I took the stickers off. That's how I solved it. Pogs. Lauren.
I was really good when I was little, but the older I get, the more I'm like, I hate this thing. Like the little pegs in the Cracker Barrel. You can still solve it, though? If I gave you a Rubik's Cube all mixed up, you could solve it? No, I don't think I could. When I was a kid, I could. You're driving me nuts to try to do it now. Could you do it fast? Not very fast, no. But I won Super Mario Brothers, stuff like that. Oh, yeah, I did that. That's different altogether. I had a Rubik's Cube. You compared that to Rubik's Cube? That's a fad, right? I had a Rubik's Cube, never solved it once. Took it apart, put it back together. And my mind doesn't operate that way. My brain doesn't operate that way. I used to be terribly hurt, sad, and fearful of the children that could do it. And just couldn't understand why they were able to. And I wasn't. It made me feel, the Rubik's Cube made me feel insatiably stupid. So dumb. I felt so dumb with the Rubik's Cube. The word of the day, by the way, is hamburger.
Don't forget that. When you hear the word hamburger worked into a sentence on the Mikey Show between now and 10 a.m., caller number 9 at 570-1949 wins tickets to the Wild Animal Park. Lindsay Lohan's mom went on the Today Show and really, I think, summed up why Lindsay is as bad off as Lindsay is. But something kind of interesting happened while she was on the show. Matt Lauer brings up the fact that Lindsay's been in rehab four times. And Dina Lohan says, no, that's not true. She has not. And then a few moments later in the interview, Matt Lauer looks through his notes and is able to prove that that's the case. And so we'll play you that audio next. This is Colin Farrell. Oh, yeah. Colin Farrell, the actor. Listen to this.
Better than anything out there. Dude, it sounds real, man. I mean, it sounds real. So good. 7.30 this morning, you're going to hear oil and vinegar in studio. Oil. Oil and vinegar. Breaking news out of Los Angeles, there's about... Look at that. Probably nine cops at least. I'm counting... Uh-oh. Four, five, six, seven, eight, nine. Oh, there's probably like 15 behind, too. His tire just blew out. I don't know if they shot it or if it just blew out. It was a high-speed chase in L.A., and finally the guy's tire blew out, and there's 20 cop cars surrounding you. There's so many cop cars behind him. Guns drawn. What's he going to do? I wonder why so many cops. I mean, couldn't you get the job done with two? Show of force. Guy's getting out of the truck. He has his hands up. He's not going to run. He better lay down. You better lay down, dude. Yeah, lay down. Oh, man. You know what? He should get a fashion police ticket as well. Cargo shorts? For the cargo shorts and what looks like Teva sandals on. He looks like a very unlikely high-speed chase offender. Yeah, he does.
And there's just some person sitting in the car, too. Oh, my God. Look at all those cops. There's 20 cop cars directly behind me. Why LA all the time? Why? It's a place to do it. Lots of freeways. If you live in Michigan and you want to be a high-speed guy, you know, a high-speed chase guy, you're like, well, I better get to LA if I want to get discovered. Tinseltown. Yeah, I got to go to Tinseltown if I want to be, you know, if I'm going to get any coverage. I counted 23 cop cars. 23. She's not kidding. She's not kidding. It's a little white truck, two-door. Osama bin Laden in that thing? Oh, he got back in. Oh, my God. Now all the cops are running back to their cars. That cop's door's open. Yeah. Wait a minute. It must have rolled forward. Wait, no. He got in. He got in? Yeah, I forgot to put a brake on. Sorry about that, guys. What an idiot. Now he stopped again. His tire blew out. He can't even try to out-drive it. It had to have been that it rolled forward or something. Classic. This got in poorly. No, he jumped back in. Maybe he was going to put the emergency brake on us. Sorry, guys. I totally forgot the e-brake. He had a blown tire. What is happening? Guys, I just called AAA. Don't even worry about it. They're going to come fix this for me. Now he's backing up with his hands up. He does look like an unlikely high-speed chase guy. Oh, he's lying on the floor.
He's down on his knees now. He's laying down. He's about to get a knee to the back real good. All those cops got out of their cars and then scurried back when he got back in. The other person in the car is not getting out. Wouldn't they need to get out too? I guess. That one guy have his dog out ready to go? Yeah, he's got his dog right there to release. Good boy. Anyway, we're going to play Hoyle and Vinegar in the studio at 7.30. We'll see how that went. We're going to play the... Audio from the meet and greet in just a little bit. Woods of Wisdom coming up. If you want to ask Woods anything for Woods of Wisdom, then we can figure that out. And, yeah, you can ask him anything that has to do with guy stuff. He'll answer all guy stuff. Let's see. I'm starving. We just ordered some food. Oatmeal's on the way, Cub. Just relax. I don't want oatmeal. Well, you got it. No, a hamburger and fries. Oh, I would kill for a hamburger and fries. Man, I like to think about all week it was a hamburger and fries. Sold. Let's see. Oh, Lindsay Lohan. Her mom went on the Today Show and was talking about Lindsay going to jail and all that stuff. And at one point, Matt Lauer said, yeah, you know, she's been to rehab four times. And her mom disagrees. No, she hasn't been there four times. And then a little bit later on.
Matt is able to prove no. Oh, boy. I can prove it. Awkward. So we'll get to that, but let's play some of this audio. A couple of weeks in jail. What was it like for her? Actually, it was the judge is now being. How startling is it that her mom sounds so much. They sound so similar. Just like her. Yeah. My mom and I sound a lot alike, too. Really? Yeah. That's so kind of cool. We have a new judge on the case. I don't know if you know that fact. It just happened two days ago. So I think she went overboard and played serious hardball with Lindsay. You don't think she deserved time in jail? You know, not for this particular offense. Mom. But for other things she did that you don't know about. I know. Well, Mom, how does Mom say not for this particular offense? You know, how many times did they give her a chance? They gave her a lot of chances.
She violated, actually didn't violate, but did violated. She was supposed to be, you know, she was in for just. What did she say? Actually, she didn't violate, but she didn't violate. But she was in for. But there was a violation, but it wasn't on her part. But no, she didn't. But she was in for she was in violation It's very simple. She was violated and it was violation violation. She was violated Right a couple of classes that she made up and she was working at the time. So the judge Went overboard and put her in serious lockdown for Matt Lauer can't do it But imagine if he was the sort of pot stirrer that went, what? Say it. She sounds so much like her. I know. It's weird. It's very unprofessional to do, but imagine. She's kind of hot, by the way. You would do that. If you took the 12-year-old. I would do that. What did you say? I said she's kind of hot. Dina Lohan. I have no idea what she looks like. What? Kind of cougarific. Yeah. She looks like Lindsay. Well, Lindsay's pretty. Doesn't surprise me. She'd be pretty. She looks more like the little one.
Allie. Yeah. What did she tell you? No, her actual name on the birth certificate is the little one. She's born on a reservation. I actually did. This is the little one. Whispering class. And Lindsay missed driving classes that she had made up when she went to court. And now the judge is being taken off the case. And it's a really serious offense for a judge. I'm sorry, man. Nobody. wants to hear her mother on the Today Show making excuses for her, man. Nobody wants to hear that. Of course not. Like, that's just the worst. I'd be like, Mom, get off the stage. Plenty of ditches being dug. Yeah, for sure. So here's where, oh, there's a picture. She looks like your typical pretty mom from Rancho Santa Fe. Yeah. Cougarific. Cougarific.
So here she is disagreeing with Matt Lauer about how many times Lindsey's been in rehab. This is the fourth time that she has. No, actually not. How many times has she been in rehab? 2007. She was incarcerated for, well, it was only 22 hours. I'm talking about rehab. I'm talking about rehab. How many times has she been in rehab? Two. Two times? Okay. My notes had four. No, I don't know where you're reading something. Let's say it's two. Clearly. rehab the first time then did not work. Well, I actually put her in rehab and when you say not works or works, I don't know where you're getting those words, but I'm just saying. Oh, wow. What do you mean, mom? Somebody's combative. Getting arrested for alcohol and drugs. I understand. I mean, she's her mom, though. You don't want to hear it. Well, she's been there four times. Obviously it doesn't work. She's going to defend her daughter. Maybe just stay home. She's going to try to in a bad way, apparently. Maybe don't go on the Today Show. Maybe stay home. I don't want to say, I don't want to go. Well, no, you know, you can't blah blah blah because I mean, I don't know I mean, I don't want to fast-forward the tape on me 20 years and I'm like Listen, you know Luke didn't do anything wrong. You know He's a good boy. No, he didn't steal your car. No, but Mikey you're of the belief that if you make your bed you got to lie in it. Yeah, I am of that belief. I don't picture you
Going, you know, talking to some reporter and going, hey, listen, you know, your kid does whatever he does. And I don't picture you defending something that he's done to get arrested for several times. No. You know, I just don't picture that. I don't either. But it scares me because I'm like, oh, man, when Sienna says, oh, it's your kid, though, blah, blah, blah. I'm like, yeah. I wonder. Maybe I would. Mike, it doesn't mean you can't support your kid if they screw up. I mean, good Lord. You don't go out and make matters worse for them. I will never forget hearing the description of codependency. Codependency is helping someone to do something wrong. Well, for sure. That's the definition of it. Helping someone to do something wrong in their wrong behavior. aiding them in their wrong behavior. That's the very definition of codependency. I put her in, you know, she was 19 years old, went to Los Angeles and was a young girl and got in trouble. And I'm certainly not condoning drinking and driving and what she did, but she's still paying a price from 2007 to now. It's the same offense. So it's nothing, nothing's changed. That sounds like an...
Apology. Yeah, I mean, like, not condoning, but making excuses for it. Okay, so here's where Matt figures out, no, I think I was right about how many times she's been in rehab. Let me start this with something we talked about in the first interview, and that was Lindsay's times in rehab. I said this was her fourth stint. This is not a gotcha moment, by the way. Isn't it? Of course it is. When I say it's not a gotcha moment, what I mean is... This is exactly a gotcha moment. Well, I bet you what happened was he got off that interview and was like, who gave me this sheet with four times? Four times. He dropped the hammer. And the person that was like, oh, no, no, no, it was four, and I will find out. Yeah, I'll show you. I'll show you, Matt. I promise. I'll get you dates. I'll get you names. Let me talk to Harry. Yeah. Did Harry see this four times stuff, and then we're on there, and she says it hasn't been four? I bet that's exactly right. Harry was trembling. Yeah, Harry was like. He's like, it's Mr. Lauer. Yeah, it's Mr. Lauer. I need John on the phone immediately. Who's John? His name's not Harry, it's Barry, Mr. Lauer. I thought it was Harry. What does it matter anyway? Get him over here. Check your facts, pal, before you give me a sheet and I go in the air with it. I did, I checked it. And I rechecked it. Idiot.
This is her second stint. I went back and looked, and I just want to talk to make sure we're on the same page here. January 2007, she went to a place called Wonderland. Well, that's a mistake to begin with because that's Michael Jackson's mistake. It's John Mayer's song. Yeah, it's John Mayer's song. It's not a rehab. They make rehab sound so fun. Wonderland. Rehab is Wonderland. It's not Wonderland. Are you kidding? Wonderland. How would you not want to go to Wonderland? Absolutely. Then in 2008, she went to a place called Happy Town. Yep. Did she go to Happy Town? Yeah, she did. Disneyville. Did she go to Disneyville? She went to Toontown. I like the ones that are like trembling hills, whispering pines. Promises. No, I'm not saying court order. I'm saying her time's in rehab. Oh, I thought you meant just the court order to rehab. That's why I said only two. If I had known that what you meant by she'd been to rehab was, you know, like rehab, rehab. Forcing her to go. Yeah. I thought you meant voluntary. And, oh, I also thought you meant the ones with the letter A and T. Yeah. In them. Oh, initially it was court. You said court ordered. No, no, no. He never did.
And this isn't an I got you moment, but no, I never did do that. And the first thing she started talking about after he first asked her was the time that she sent her to rehab. So if he said court ordered, why would she start talking about that first step? I sent her when she was 19. In rehab. Correct? Well, I've got Wonderland in 2007. The first wasn't court-ordered, actually. She was 19, and I put her in there, and that was the original DUI, which she is still paying a price for. And she went to Promises in 2007. Promises. She went to Circlodge in Utah in 2007, and now UCLA Medical Center. So it's the fourth time she's been in some kind of rehab. And the only reason I bring it up is because that's a lot of... So I forgot the other two. What do you want to assume? Yeah, sue me. Why don't you, yeah. Man, he's digging, though. It was four times. But she's still, he's got the facts in front of him. She's a mess. She's still fighting it. She's a mess. But I'm like, man, she's just trying to help her kid. Like, you know, you don't want to be like, yeah, she has been there four times and she's going again, you know. But you don't deny it. Yeah, I'll tell you what, I hear that.
And I feel sorry for Lindsay and say the apple doesn't fall too far. She just shouldn't have gone on the show. She didn't have a chance with that for a mom and that lunatic for a dad. Just excuses, excuses, excuses. Never owning up to anything. Where do you think Lindsay gets it from? You guys heard her in her court appearance. She's like, oh my God, I didn't do anything wrong. That's what she's been told. I spilled champagne on my... on my bracelet, and that's why it went off. Why are you making her have the same voice as me? I'm not. You're right, though, man. I mean, she's learned from her folks. Well, she's learned from her mom. It's not your fault. It's not your fault. It's not your fault. And if that's all you're told, you know, like, I was kind of the opposite. It's your fault. Something wrong? Yeah. What'd I do? You know what I mean? I did it. I got to tell you, man, I mean, if you have to err in one, I'd rather err on the side of accountability than the side of, you know, I don't have any part in this. Times to be in and out without some sort of success. And again, I ask you the question. What do you mean by success? He's like Bill Clinton. He breaks out the dictionaries.
It's just so uncomfortable to hear people backpedaling. And bickering, like, in an interview. When there's facts right there, just be like, yeah, you know, it didn't work for her, and we're hoping this one works. Right. You know, back off. She needs some help. She's getting the help she needs. Like, that's not that hard to be like, she's in rehab, Matt. Like, she's doing the work. She's doing what she needs to do. She's served her time. Like, did, dude. Don't worry about it. We talked about... We talked about the day that she was sentenced. She had F.U. on her fingernail. She did. Lindsay. Lindsay Lohan did. Only it was written out. Which everybody was like, what is that all about? Well, Matt, who is a pit bull. I mean, listen, in interviews, Matt Lauer goes for it. He'll get you. He'll get you real good. He asked her about the nail polish. You talked about some of the choices and some of them you say have been blown out of proportion by the tablet. It is, by the way, tough for a parent to have to answer for something that the parent didn't do.
Made some smaller choices recently that may seem inconsequential at the time. She showed up at her hearing in court not long ago and was going to really talk about her freedom. You're going to talk about, like, nail polishes. But as a mom, that's a choice. No, no, no, that wasn't a choice. What was it? No, somebody actually tied her down. She was drugged. She was drugged and somebody tied her down and somebody wrote that. They actually vandalized her fingers. Yeah. We're actually suing them for vandalism. And she didn't have time to get nail polish remover before the trial. So it was just like a nightmare. Her limo broke down. I mean, it's not easy. A two centimeter tall vandal with a little one millimeter sized can of spray paint. Tagger. tagged her fingernail. And we're in litigation. I can't talk about it. She didn't see it coming. Actually, she didn't even think. We thought when she was going to court that day, we thought she was going to be let off and everything was over. Of course. We were blindsided. And when she went to court, now the judge is not even on the case anymore because she went overboard. So that whole dynamics was...
But you asked me if I, you talked about my children, okay? And I do have three children. Yeah, I'm very young, right? How old are they? 9, 6, and 3. There you go. But if one of them... We'll see. You'll talk to me in five years. Oh, wow. Oh, my God. Oh, wow. Oh, boy. Oh, that's so tense. So tense. You know what? It's just, it really, I mean, I know I said it already, but it really explains why Lindsay was making those kinds of excuses in court. And I'll talk to you in five years. Meanies. In other words, you're sure that my kid's going to be your kid? I mean, what is that?
And I hope things are okay. Girls? All girls? Boy, girl, boy. If one of them, though, were going through a difficult time where they were under scrutiny, as Lindsay has been under scrutiny, I would want to make sure that they made the kind of choices that told the world, we take this situation seriously. And that choice raised some questions. You can tell your children whatever you want to tell them, but they're going to do what they're going to do when they turn 18, 19. Now, that part I agree with. This much I know. You can raise your kids as best you can. At the end of the day, your kid's your kid. They're their own person. They're going to make the choices they're going to make. And so, you know, you can only do what you can do. You can't control every second of their waking moments, you know? Anyway, that was big news, man. That was on Friday. I don't know what she was thinking, agreeing to go on there. She is combative. Both of her parents just need to... Stop it. Stay out of her way. You're like immature. So immature. Okay, so this is the meet and greet. Let's see. Meet and greet was Friday. We had to wear skinny jeans. Some of us. One of us. Well, Woods did for sure. For sure. Skin tight. Mine, I thought, I thought mine were skinny.
Woodsy didn't. The majority of people that saw them came up to me. They're like, you're the only one. You're the only one. Yeah. Check my Facebook. Have them call in. Everyone's like, those aren't good. By the way, before we do, M1 Diane from Santee, are you there? I am. What was the word of the day? Hamburger. That is right. Oh, my God. If I didn't like her before, I think I hate her now. Yeah. I don't know anything about her. I don't know much about her. I hate her. God. Way to make a situation that's awful ten times worse. We just need to stay out of the way. Diane, do we have your information yet? No, not yet. All right, hang on. Can I pull the curtain back a little bit? Yeah. Woods is looking at me like, when did we say the word of the day? I'm like, you said it, pal. First Mikey said it, then you said it, then Jay said it. Nope, never remember. Hamburger was the word of the day. And I said, I don't want oatmeal. I want a hamburger and fries. You said I would love it. And I said, oh, that sounds delicious. I would love a hamburger and fries. Hamburger. I'm an idiot. He's looking at me like this. So meet and greet on Friday. Tipsy Crow. Tipsy Crow. It was awesome. It was. I loved it. We had to wear the skinny jeans.
When we walked into this place, first of all, here we are walking down the street. It's just you and Woods that came together, right? Yeah. Weird. Hands in each other's back pockets. When I got there, Jay was the only one there, and he was rocking his skinny jeans that looked like regular jeans. Just call them jeans, because that's what they were. He was rocking his jeans. His maroon jeans. His means. Yeah, it's mean. People are maroon, though. It's pretty bad. This is Woods and I walking down Fifth Avenue. We are turning on to Fourth Avenue and G Street. It's the middle of the day. It's 5 o'clock in the daytime, and me and Woods are wearing skinny jeans. How do you feel? Miserable. Absolutely miserable. You embarrassed? I lost a bet. That's why I'm wearing these. I lost a bet. He's saying that to strangers. I would never wear these. He's saying that to strangers. Half of downtown has skinny jeans on, by the way, you know. As they were walking, I mean, these were people he didn't know. Right. I lost a bet. I lost a bet. I lost a bet. We were standing at a stoplight. I turned around and there's this beautiful girl staring at us like, I'm sorry, I lost a bet. Oh, my God. So sorry. I look like such an idiot. Well, you're sitting there thinking, well.
What could make that situation worse? Big six foot tall guy, pair of skin tight, skinny jeans. What could make that situation worse? This. Your fly was down the whole time? Yeah, my fly was down the whole time and I'm wearing white man panties. Pants. My fly was down the whole time. You are a clown, buddy. He was exposed to the end. None of you guys saw it? As soon as he said, he goes, Mikey, I turn around and you see white underwear. And his fly wide open. Yep. Wow. They're looking at us. People are staring. People are staring. I lost the bet. I lost the bet. You guys are so dramatic. I know. So dramatic. This was us walking into the place. Now, this is what I thought was so interesting about the following piece of audio. There was a lot of people there. But you don't hear that much reaction. The reason?
Wide eyes, staring, smiling, pointing. Oh, stop. Oh, yeah. Snickering. Stop it. People in shock. Snickering. All right, so we're about to go down into the belly. So traumatic. Maybe the most traumatic rose ceremony ever. Ever. I love how you guys are so traumatized by wearing the skinny jeans. Traumatized. Yeah, it's the Monday after, and you still won't stop talking about it. They loved skinny jeans, I think. Nightmares. Nightmares. Nightmares. Oh, my gosh. There are people here. There's a lot of people here. As you're walking in? Yeah. All right. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Listen to people laughing. Yeah. Yeah, great. Glad I'm here as a clown. Yeah. They're not even that bad. That was me. Was that you? Yeah. Jay. Yeah, tell me what you think. I don't know about those pants, man. They're kind of scary. Yeah, I feel like Pee Wee freaking Herman. That's disturbing. They look good on you. They look good on you. Oh, yeah. They look good. Yeah. They're regular jeans. Oh, wow. Yeah, baby. He's fitting. Hello, baby.
Poor showing at the meet and greet, by the way. In my poor, I mean zero. There is a famous pop star out there right now that apparently scaled the wall at Prince's house, basically trespassing, breaking, and entering to get him a demo that he never responded to. We'll play you the audio of who that is next, and we'll also give you some woods of wisdom. If you have a kid. specifically if you have a daughter, young daughter, she might like the music of Kesha. Is that Milkshake? No. I don't see what I know. Walking to the club with a bottle of champagne. That one. Or whatever. Sounds like she's real bratty when she sings. That's right, we played that last week. Ew. Don't stop, make it hot. Yeah, it's kind of catchy. But anyway, Kesha is one that...
Apparently she snuck over Prince's wall, like scaled the wall to give him a demo tape and never heard from him. Weird. Yeah. Sienna, what's going on in the news? Well, we all know about the escapees from the Arizona prison. Three people that escaped, two have been captured, and one is still on the loose with his... who helped throw the tools over the fence at the jail. Well, a warden and a security official from the prison have just resigned due to the escapees. Yeah. So they're trying to get out of there. Also, a woman from the South Bay here in San Diego just turned 111 years old on Friday, making her one of the oldest living people in California. Really? I know. Oh, wow. She graduated with Larry King. Yeah. Yeah, I dated her. I took her to the prom. No, she is the oldest living person in California. I'm sorry. And she's one of the... 81 people in the world who are over 110 years old. Me too. I'm 112. She's a very cute little woman. Woodsy, what's going on in sports? Sad day this weekend at the Del Mar Fair. I always say the Del Mar Fair. The Del Mar races. Tuscan Evening is a horse and it collapsed and died after having a heart attack. Which just breaks my heart, man. And also, really weird. An NBA player plays for the Heat, got arrested for marijuana.
What? Udonis Haslam was pulled over and stopped and had more than 20 grams of weed on him. It's weird. Isn't that a lot of weed? Really weird. It's a lot of weed. It never happens in the NBA. No. That's a lot of marijuana cigarettes. That's like saying that an NBA player would come out with a rap song. I know, yeah. It's almost as weird as that. That's very strange. Very odd. But yeah, he plays for the Heat with LeBron and all those guys. Yeah, well, guess who's not coming out with a rap song? Who, Hoyle? Hoyle and Vinegar. What happened? It's him, Sienna. It's him. It's Woods? Yes. What did he do? He's a control freak, man. He won't cooperate. Weird. He thinks he's Brian Wilson or Phil Spector or something in the studio. And it's very clear I'm better than both. I'm better than Brian Wilson. I'm better than Phil Spector. You've heard the kid before. Nobody tells the kid what to do, Hoyle. That's right, dude. Apparently, I was trying to get him to do the greatest idea ever. You know what it was? What? I said, listen, let's do that new song by Eminem and Rihanna. Oh, yeah. I love that song. Love the way you lie. Right. I said, let's do it. I said, you play Rihanna's part, and I'll sing the Eminem part. That's awesome. Oh, my God. Oh, boy. You know that's supposed to be a guy and a girl, right? Why didn't you do that one? We tried. Oh, really? Yeah, we tried. We tried to auto-tune it. That was his big bit.
The auto-tune. I go, you know, you'll hear it. You'll hear it. We got an argument. Hoyle's just trying to impress Mikey because he knows Mikey likes it. He knows Mikey loves auto-tune. Roll tape. All right, Vinegar, and a one, and a two, and a one, two, three, and... Just gonna stand here. No, no, no, no. Stop, stop, wait. Oh, my God. That ain't good. You're not putting any emphasis on anything. All right. Just gonna stand here and watch. How come you don't sound happy, Vinegar? You don't sound happy. You got something happy. Because I didn't want to do this, but you're making me. I know I am because it's going to be... Now we're arguing in auto-tune. Yeah. What is that? A hit, but it's already a hit. We're going to auto-tune it. Now come on. Come on. Just gonna stand. No. Just gonna stand. Smile. Just gonna stay. No, don't look at me when you smile because that's cute. Hoyle. Just gonna stay. No, don't look away. Wow, Hoyle. What? You are a control freak. Yeah, he's terrible to work with. I am not terrible to work with. I am perfection to work with. First of all, Woods is a talent. You know who's a talent? Wyatt Hoyle. That's what they used to call me back in the Wild Wild West when I first started out. Wild Wild West. Wait, what Wild Wild West? Listen. Weirdo.
Weird oil. Light oil. What, what? Tupac, God rest his soul, ain't here today. Or he'd tell you, I worked with him. The only reason he can't tell you is because he's not here anymore. It's Tupac. Get into it. That's what I meant. Yes, vinegar, yes. I've never had an argument in auto-tune. Well, you have now. Now I have. Do you guys have more? No. Oh, my gosh. I stormed out. I can't work under those conditions, man. I don't like to be barked, you know. Don't bark orders at me. Trust me. There is a lot that is on the editing room floor. Okay. Well, you guys need to kiss and make up. Oh, you're going to hear more. And put that out because that was awesome. That's just a little taste. I want a full song. Hoyle, you need to learn to just relax a little bit and let him work some of his magic in as well. Yeah. And then maybe you guys come up with a finished product. Well, on the last take, he finally got it, was into it, and you interrupted him. Yeah, I was right in the middle of the group. Yes, vinegar, yes. But by that time, he'd already ruined the mood. Yes, vinegar, yes. Vinegar. Oil and vinegar. The whole vibe was broken. My buzz was gone. The whole thing was off. What were you drinking, kombucha? No, I was drinking 40s of King Cobra.
Malt vinegar and I was drinking hell of it. Steel reserve? Are they still in the brown paper bag? That's right. I drink my Mickeys right out of the brown paper bag. Good. That's the way to do it. Wild, wild Hoyle. Oh, wow. Wyatt Hoyle. Wyatt Hoyle, yeah. That's your old nickname. They used to call me back in Memphis. Oh, wow. And Mobile. And Mobile. What did I say, Memphis? Yeah. That's not what I meant. You get all your facts mixed up, Hoyle. Maybe you get all your facts messed up. Let's do some Woods of Wisdom. What do you think? You got some good ones today. Got some questions for Woodsy? Come on. You can call him 570-1949. What's it? It's my favorite part. I did notice on our Facebook fan page somebody ordered a pizza this weekend under the name Hoyle and Vinegar. That is so great. That is gutsy. That is so great. So you know over the phone they were like, Sagan? Sagan? Hoyle and Vinegar? I said Hoyle and Vinegar. That's genius. Love it. First question for Woods. And these are questions that have to do with guy stuff. Could be fashion. Could be chicks. Could be anything. First question for Woodsy.
Woods, is it possible to know if a sales girl at a counter or a waitress is vibing on you or if she's just doing her thing for her job? M1 Clueless. Good question. That's a great question, man. Happened to me. I got duped at the kiosk. Yes, you got duped. Here's the deal. It's really hard to be that guy to pick up the bartender or the waitress or the girl. A girl at the sales counter is a little easier. I feel like the bartender's easier. No, because you can get in a conversation. If I go to the perfume counter at Nordstrom's, I can sit and have a conversation with this girl, more than likely, because there's really not much going on. Right. Dude, the bartender who's busy, and you're like, yeah, I like those pants. Those are great. Cool shoes, you know? You're just another customer. So you've got to tread lightly, man. Sales girls at the mall have a ball, but... Oh, wow, that kind of rhymed. But the bartender and waitress says, man, you've got to really pick and choose your moments. And you've got to do something really cool. Maybe just kind of slide your card over. But this one time, Lauren O'Brien went to the mall. Didn't work. Saw this really delicious-looking black dude. Yes. And he was calling her over and showed her his cell phone. And she didn't want to buy the cell phone.
But she was in on him. She wanted to buy him dinner. She wanted to buy him some dinner. Absolutely. Or have him buy it for me. And in a very bold move, said, yeah, how about we hang out? I said, how about I program my number in that phone? Oh, yeah. It was kind of a smooth move. It was a very smooth move. Didn't go over so well. Good work. He had a girlfriend. He had a girlfriend. Oh. He goes, oh. Didn't mean to give me the wrong impression. Wow. So you got to be careful, man. Don't be another jerk customer. See, and I used to wait tables, and I would say 95% of the time when the guys were hitting on me, I would be like, I'm out. And then sometimes... There's no way. Sometimes I was like, oh, okay. So it's a tough game to play. It is. Sometimes you may get lucky. Hey, Woods. Yo. My roommate's car broke down, and he hasn't asked me to give him a ride yet, but I can tell he needs it. Should I volunteer to take him, or am I opening a can of worms? No, you absolutely volunteer. Your roommate's your boy, dude. You take care of your boy, okay? Or your girl, for that matter. M1 Sloma. Be helpful. Yeah? Be helpful. It's a nice thing to do. Absolutely. Woods, I'm having a first date with a guy this weekend, and I want to know from a guy's perspective what would be the greatest thing I could wear, do, or smell like. Can you tell I want this date to work out? M1 Verbena. Hmm.
So, yeah, Woods, if you're going on a first date with a girl, what do you want her to dress like? What do you want her to act like? And what do you want her to smell like? Be honest. I want her to be in a cute little summer dress. Oh, yeah. Summer dress. You know, maybe some high, those cute strappy high. What are those? Wedges? No, not wedges per se. I don't know. My wife has some that are really cute. I think he means wedges. Do I mean wedges? I think you do, yeah. Fine, wedges. Can somebody Google image that for me? I want you to smell like summer. I want you to be like a light-smelling perfume. Maybe a body spray or a musk. Right. No, no musk. No musk. I don't want to smell like Mikey. Really? Yeah. Just sitting here. Here's how I want you to act. I want you to be confident. I don't want you to be needy. I want you to be confident and secure in who you are. Yeah. I want the opposite. I want you to be needy, broken, and like a fawn with a broken leg. Not me, man. Confidence is attractive. Something like that, too? Yeah, yeah, cute, but taller and more strappy. Taller? Yeah. Wow. I like those. Those are wedges, and they're very comfortable for a lady. They're cute. You wear those real sweetly. Yeah, with a summer dress. Maybe a little cleave.
For sure. I'm in on that. Maybe a little locket. Yeah, a little locket. A locket. A little gold necklace. Is that what it's called? Well, not a locket. Because a locket's got a picture in it, right? No, no, no. A charm. A little silver charm. Something delicate. Something delicate. A delicate chain with a delicate charm. Something very delicate. Something very feminine and delicate. I'm just talking about wedges. Good lord. Yeah. I like hearing about this, though. Yeah, that's a good bit. Is there too much jewelry? Yeah, there's definitely too much jewelry. Something just subtle. Maybe a little watch, cute watch, and a little pendant. I think the next date that I go on, and by next I mean first, I'm going to get some video of the getting ready process. And I'm going to take... The wedges, the delicate necklaces, the perfume. Do the whole bit. I think we should do it on the air and you should bring in a bunch of options and the guys can pick. Oh. You can do that. Let me tell you. Yeah, we get to dress you for your date. I'm all the way in. That should be a, is there anything better then? Woods, and this only applies to men listening, but is there anything better than a girl perfectly done up? No.
Perfectly done. Oh, yeah. There's nothing better. Like, wow, you look good. Like, you remember, and we're all, you know, most of us in here are in relationships and some, you've been in relationships before. Remember that when you have that first date or second or third date with somebody and, you know, you walk the door and you're like, God, I get to walk out with this girl? Oh, dude, every, let me tell you. Like, my wife, man, when I, we used to go out and stuff, she'd come, you know, I'd meet her and I'd be like, good lord. I'm still that way with my wife, but, you know what I mean? Smells so good. Every date with Rebecca, I thought, I can't believe. Me too. Me too, dude. I still feel that way. I walked downstairs Friday night, and I was in my skinny jeans. My wife, she walked out. She was all ready and done up. I was like, God, look at you. I didn't want to hold Rebecca's hand because I was embarrassed for her to have to hold my skinny jeaned hands on Friday night. I walked in front of Jamie. I'm like, she looks too good. I look like an idiot. She looked too good for me. I'm like, I'm not going to put you through that. You guys are being very mushy right now.
See, I'd rather have Kim just right out of the shower, still just wrapped in towel hair wet. Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy. No makeup on. Yeah, don't need that. Jay says, and maybe it's just that when he talks, it sounds like this. All of us take a deep breath. When Jay talks, we go, uh-oh, what's going to come out? Yeah. People love what Jay says, though. I practically hold on to the table like, Jay's going to say something really filthy and appropriate. That wasn't filthy. No, no, no. When you said when my wife comes out of the shower. I know. And we were like, oh, no. Here goes. Yeah. On Friday, you guys tried to rank the most perverted members of the show. Oh, we did. That was off the air. Yeah. It was off the air. And I said, by far, Lauren O'Brien is the most perverted person on the show. No doubt about it. Sienna. Jay Isbell. Yeah. Number two, Jay. Number three, me. Sienna. Don't you think Jay. Then Sienna. Then me. I would be before Mike. Don't you think Jay is more perverted than I am? No. No. I've calmed down. Richard Pryor is not as perverted as you are. I think that Jay is more, his creepiness happens more often, but you throw in ones that it's like, whoa! But when was the last time I did? When was the last time you did? Last week. I didn't say anything. We got you one last week. And let me tell you, off the air.
Little dirty bird over there. Oh, filthy. Just tweeting around. Oh, but the filthiest one off the air is by far Woods. 100%. 100% off the air. But my filthy, like, creep, like, I have a foul mouth. Foul mouth in meetings and stuff. I'm the worst. But L.O.B. is definitely the most pervy. You want to play Name That Tune? Let's do this. Okay, so let's do it this way. Call right now, 570-1949, and pick your horse. It's going to be me, Sienna, Woods, or Lauren. And you pick which one you think will do better at Name That Tune. And it's not. traditional name that tune it could be a song from a movie it could be anything what's the theme today what's the theme today is a movie drops movie drop movie quotes uh and we use our name as a buzzer so you just have to figure out which one of us you think will do good at that woods um and we'll do it next that's a very nice image of jay hanging out with his kids this weekend just watching movies and hanging out with his kids watching movies yes sir Family weekend. It was a family weekend. Mikey's show is myself, Woods, Lauren O'Brien, Sienna, and Jay. And occasionally a phone screener named Krabs. That's Krabs. Today we have Will. Today we have Will. It's Will. Not the same. It's Will. Still fun. Will's a new guy. Let's see. I want to do a little, you guys, how do you guys feel about playing name that team? I'm in. I'm in. Let's see who everybody's going to pick.
M1 Wheat Fix, who do you want? I will take Lauren. You got it. Hang on the line. Holler. M1 Ivan. Oh, I'll take Woods. Attaboy. Hang on. M1 Keep It Hot. And keep it clean. There you go. Who do you want? Mikey. There you go. Every time, it's all right. You know what? I have other strengths, okay? And you know what? Scorekeeping, for one. Mikey controls what line he goes to. Yeah, that's right. M1 Dennis, are you there? I'm here. You got Sienna. Go, boy. Don't worry. It's good. It's good. Don't say it like that. You got Sienna. Maybe I chokeslam all of you. Hang on. Maybe you all are going to get in a lot of trouble here in a minute. Maybe I win. Yeah, what if you win? You know, like, it could happen. It has happened. You've won before. I've won a couple times. I'm going to say there's no chance of that happening today. Yeah, thanks. It's because.
47-year-old picking the topic from 25. Just means there's movies. Maybe you get to know a few more movies than cartoons. All right, I like cartoons. Well, all the movies that you picked to her defense are in black and white. Yes, Jay. All right, here we go. Oh, there are talkies. Hold on. Here we go. Here we go. First one. I'll be back. The Terminator. The Terminator. I thought there were songs. I was like, what is that? Did you hear me yell? Here we go. Get off my lawn. Woods. Gran Torino. Wow. I even knew that one. Nice. It's a comedy in good and bad. That's right. He was the only guy in the theater laughing. I know. That's genius. Yippee-ki-yay. Mikey. Die hard. Yippee-ki-yay. Wow. He's running away with it. So far, these are really girly movies. Yeah. You don't have to answer that question. I'll answer the question. Lauren. Mikey. Lauren. Two good men. Here we go. I know what you're thinking. Mikey. Dirty Harry. Wow. Lauren Woods. One. Woods. Three. Mikey. One. I'll stop there. That's pretty good. Mikey. Mikey. Mikey.
What? Scarface. Dang it! These are all in the same genre. They're men's movies. Yeah. Yeah, that's what we're doing. He told me enough. Mikey. Empire Strikes Back. What? Nice, pal. Nice. You guys are crazy. I am your father. Just a drink. A martini. What? Shoot, dude. It's James Bond. It's Sean Connery. Goodness. Oh. That could have been one of 30 movies. It could be any. Yeah, he says it in all of them almost. Here we go. Cena's bound to know this one. What we've got here is... Cool Hand Luke. Wow. Never heard of it. Don't want to. I know. You love Clint Eastwood, apparently. That's not Clint Eastwood. That wasn't Clint Eastwood. You still love Clint Eastwood. No, I'm just making a point. You love Clint Eastwood. That's what I'm talking about. The score is Lauren one, Wood six, Mikey two. So how many is this worth? This is going to be worth. We have three left. We're going to be each of our three-pointer. Yes. Don't change it. Don't tell me what to do. Okay. I'm sorry, Wilson. Mikey. Come on. Mikey. I quit. Mikey. I yelled louder. I don't have a mic in front of me.
She counts as two. Yeah. Okay. Here we go. Woods has how many? Nine. Nine? Nine points. No way. Yeah, I just got, I had six. I just got three. Oh, that counted as a three-pointer? Institute your, this one's worth 8,000. This one's worth 8,000. Let's steal it from Ivan. There was a firefight! Lauren! There was a firefight! Nice. How many is that really worth? That was really worth nine, so. No, it was not. Ten points. Sorry, Ivan. Wait, how many is that worth? It's worth nine. Really? Yeah, that's stupid. Oh, jeez. So this one's it. This one's going to be all for all the marshmallows. This is for all the marshmallows. So why don't we just do one question for all the winners? Just do one. Hey, how about we don't argue on the air? Okay. It might be a tumor. It's not. Mikey! Kindergarten cop. Get! Get! Why are you yelling get? Get what? I'm telling all of you to get. Why? I did really good. Ivan, enjoy. That was my best day ever. Where is he? Where is he? He's gone. I can't find him. I'm unhappy. Maybe we give a second place prize. I'm the nice one that shares my microphone with Mikey when he comes across. I know. And I get punished. You got punished. I'm just kidding. No, that's fun. It used to be a fun game. That was fun. It still is. I had fun.
The baby's upset. I know. The baby's upset. It's kicking. Poking through. Could you really feel a baby? Yeah. No, it was like an elbow poking out. She was like, get. She's like elbowing Woods. Get out of my way. Hey, have you guys heard that they're asking? No, I don't know where. Sienna will tell us. They're asking kids to bring toilet paper. On their back-to-school list? Yeah. Now, this is an article in the news right now. It's nuts. But it's like in Alabama schools. Schools really all over the country. In Texas. But some of these things on kids' back-to-school lists. I mean, it's nuts. It's because of all the schools, you know, shrinking budgets and stuff. And now, when you go back-to-school shopping, it looks like you're shopping for a janitor. You know, because it's... toilet paper is on the list. Can you imagine the poor kid that has to leave class carrying a roll of toilet paper? That's terrible. Oh, no, yeah. This is a...
I think it's a kindergartner's list of back-to-school stuff and some of the out-of-the-ordinary things. Two double rolls of toilet paper. That's ridiculous. Three packages of Clorox wipes. Three boxes of baby wipes. Two boxes of garbage bags. Liquid soap, Kleenex, and Ziplocs. That is insane. How cute. I saw some little kids this weekend at the store with their mom picking out their school supplies and stuff. How sweet is that? Seeing those little kids everywhere. That was so fun. I loved it. I'd be like, I want a driver keeper. New backpack. Wait. Wait, you guys loved the experience? Oh, yeah. New shoes. New pencils. New everything. Not my experience at all. Well, my mom always wanted to get the generic brand of everything. I'd be like, that's not a traffic keeper. Yeah, you get the gangster with the mead one. That was my deal. This was back to school for me. All the kids were wearing Vans and I would wear pans. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Exactly. Cads and you would wear meds. I would wear meds. Me too. Oh, it was awful. Back to school was awful. M1 Rafal. Am I pronouncing it right? M1 Rafal? Yeah, but my friends call me Ricky. Your friends call you Ricky? Yo, Ricky. I see the correlation. Yes. All day. What's going on, Ricky? Man, you know, okay. I hear you guys talking about kids.
A lot. But I don't know. You know, you call me an M1, but I don't know if I can be called an M1 exactly. I'm just calling in right now because, I mean, I haven't been listening all that long, but I'm calling in now because I just want to tell you that I can't stand kids. You can't stand kids? Very popular opinion. That's a bold statement right there. It's a very bold statement. Look, honestly, I can't even stand listening to you talk about kids. Oh. Ricky, you were a kid once too. Yeah, dude. Yeah, why do you feel that way? You know, okay, the toilet paper thing, look, I can understand that. And don't curse. Why do I feel like this guy's going to curse any second? Hello? Are you going to swear? Are you going to swear? Don't swear. Did I swear? No, but I'm afraid you're going to. Did I swear? He didn't even know.
I'm just afraid you're going to. You sound angry and sweary. I'm a little upset, and that's why I'm calling in. There's some things I've got to get off my chest. How old are you? I'm 28. Okay. 28. How are you doing? I hope I never have kids because they're absolutely messy. They should be banned from grocery stores and restaurants. and places that I want to go out with my girlfriend and have a good time, and I can't because there's a kid screaming in my face. Man, I hope you never have kids, too. No kidding, man. You know, at some point, Ricky, you're going to have kids. Not necessarily. Everybody ends up going. This is what people do. I don't ever want to have kids, and then you end up having kids. Yeah, plenty of people that never have kids. I hope that doesn't happen in this case. Yeah. I can have a mastectomy. Yeah, you could. My girlfriend could get her tubes tied. Yeah. I mean, it's a non-issue as far as I'm concerned. In places like France, kids are out of sight and out of mind, and I think that's how it should be here. Yeah, yet another reason that we hate the French over here. So there you go. Kids are out of sight in France? Yeah.
Really? Yeah, that's what you have nannies for. Is it like all adults only in Paris? Adults are expected to be out at restaurants and keep their social life and everything. Wow. I don't necessarily like how you're saying it, but there's a part of me that doesn't... Mikey! Well, there are places that are like adults only and stuff like that. I mean, because sometimes you do, you want... night out where it's not like a family style restaurant I feel bad woods when we go out to dinner and Mike and the kids dude never don't ever feel bad that's life you can't leave them locked up at home no I know but you know you're just people are trying to enjoy a meal and my kids screaming at the top of his lungs like that but who cares that's what they do yeah and then you just walk the kids well Ricky's yeah Richie Ricky's very judgmental in the fact that You know, hey, man, hey, Ricky, to each his own. I mean, you know, tomato, tomato. But, you know, you were a kid once, and, you know, they're not meant to be a nuisance, man. They're a treasure, you know? They're a filthy, filthy treasure. Oh, wow. Oh, boy. A filthy treasure? Can I just say, thank you for the call, Ricky. I appreciate you calling in. That's awesome. Can I just say that I'm not going to name the place.
I've said it off the air. But there is a certain place that serves salad. That's their big thing. It's like a big long salad bar. Okay. You know what I'm talking about. Right. Have we been there for lunch? No. Okay. I was thinking of something else. My wife loves this place. She loves it. I do too. I don't like it. And the reason I don't like it is because there's a lot of little kids. So what? Put in there. little germy hands. You should have to be a certain age to go do that. There's a lot of little kids putting their little germy hands all over utensils. Hey, pal. And then they're scooping those utensils on their plate. Pal. And then I'm coming along and I'm grabbing the utensils. And then I'm wiping my nose with their cold. And now I got a cold. There's a lot of germy adults too, bro. There's a lot of guys who go in the bathroom, do their business, walk out. Absolutely. And then they grab your little thing. Absolutely. But I'm telling you this. I can tell you this as a dad of a three-year-old. Kids are germ farms. They're sweet. Yes, they are. Two things can be true at once. Adults are germ. They're germy.
Adults are germ farms, but they can hide it better. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, like we, you know, we don't put, see, as soon as I say this, everybody's saying, yeah, we do. But in general, we don't put our snotty hands all over stuff. Kids don't have a filter for that. They just put their snotty stuff all over. I think kids are better about washing their hands than adults because we put it in their heads. No. Wash your hands. Da, da, da. Please. That's in one ear and out the other. No way. I agree with Lauren. Every time they use the bathroom, they wash their hands. They know to adults. Hey, if no one's looking, I'm going to walk out. No one's going to know. I know. When Jenna walks out, she's nine. I'm like, did you wash your hands? Yep. And she'll show me. See? Yeah, she does. But then you know what kids do? They wash their hands. And then immediately they're wiping them all over their nose. Jasper will tell us he washed his hands. But we'll say, let me smell him. He's like, oh, OK. Oh, yeah. I know. I know that trick. It's soap. It's soap you're smelling for. Nothing else. You smell the hands for soap and you smell the breath for toothpaste. Exactly. That's a trick. Those are tricks. I do the breath one for sure. Let me smell your breath? Yeah. To make sure they brush. Brush your teeth. You've got to instill it in them early. I'm not a very patient dude. You guys know that. But something about little kids. If I'm on a plane and a kid's screaming, I don't flip out, man. Because you know why? It's a little kid. It's a little kid. I don't flip out, but I know that other people flip out.
Well, this woman came onto the plane on my way home from New Orleans. And she, it was Southwest, so you can, you know, you choose your seat. And she sat down and was like, I'm going to sit here because I know that there's only middle seats left. And she's like, I don't want to be back there with a crying two-year-old and blah, blah. And like imposing. I paid my dues. Yeah, and she was like imposing her views on me about the crying. And she's like, you know what I mean? Because it's only going to begin and blah, blah, blah. That's how that dude sounded to me. Oh, for sure. I had a boss. We'd go to the restaurant and he'd say. I want a table. No smoking and no kids. Yeah, people said that a lot at the restaurant. Dude. Just kid. Why? Just kid. They're crying all the time. I mean, come on. I'm trying to have a meal. I think there should be adult-only places. You can't eat with a kid crying? I can, but... My kids do destroy a restaurant. Yeah. That's for sure. I mean, there's crackers flying. I think that there should be... Some places that are adult-only places. Hedonism in Jamaica. That's one. No, certain restaurants. Strip clubs, adult bookstores. Yeah, kids can't go to a lot of places. You tell me my kid can't come in a restaurant. I'm not going to be happy about it. Yeah, and you're never going to go to that restaurant yourself because you'll be mad. You would never take him to Pampamoose. I'll admit something else. Oh, no. Mike. Do you know what makes me crazy in my head? I think it does my wife, too.
Little kids my boy's age, Luke and Ryan, when they eat, is the grossest thing I've ever seen in my life. Oh, it's cute. They're learning. It's not cute. They're learning. It's not cute. It's not cute. It's gross. His twins are a year old. There's food on the cheeks. When will they start going to the bathroom by themselves, pal? Dude. You're freaked out now. When I see little green pee. pee soup stuff in their hair. I'm like, oh. Really? I think it's funny. When I see it in their hands. Yesterday, yesterday, I'm feeding Ryan yesterday with a little tiny baby spoon. Uh-huh. I can't believe I'm admitting this. And I'm going to go to feed him, right? And every time I go to put the spoon in his mouth, he takes both hands and he's trying to grab my hand. And I keep backing up. And I'm like trying to get it. And he gets me and slimes. Both sides of my hands. And I'm like, oh. That's better pee than something else. He's trying to hold your hand. No, I mean pea soup. That's what I mean. Pea soup. Yeah. Green pea soup.
My niece, I held her up over my head. She's five months old. And I held her up and she goes, and spit up all over my head. And I'm laughing. I'm like, oh, it's funny. I would get sick to my stomach. Really? You guys. It wasn't you that Luke did that in your mouth? Who was it? I thought it was you. No, it wasn't spit up. It was just saliva. It was Luke. It was saliva. It was just saliva. Yeah, Woods held Luke over his head. And was like, hey. And it just dripped from his bottom chin. Drool. You just shrugged it off. Oh, yeah. I shrugged it off. Yeah. I wasn't like, ah, take the baby. Throw the baby. You shrugged it off. I would have had to see a therapist. No. Mikey. Stop it, Mike. I am very skeeved easily. I'm easily skeeved. Some people are, it's so hard to skeeve them. You will eat a penny off the ground. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. For sure. That is true. But if I see, like, last night, he had. goulash, like, you know, little elbow macaronis and spaghetti sauce, and it's in his hair, in his face, and in between his fingers. Delicious. And I was like, ugh. Little kid food does kind of gross me out. It's a little risky. And they mash it. Oh, the mashing. I think it's in between their fingers, but it is kind of gross. Have you ever seen a smash cake?
When a kid has a smash cake, when they're young, you give them their own birthday cake. That's what we just did. It's hilarious, though. It's hysterical. It is hilarious. Yeah, it is. It's gross. It's not. M1 Janie, are you there? Yes, hi. Hi. I was just going to say, it's not the kids so much, it's the parents. If you don't ever take your kids out to eat, they don't learn how to be civil in public. Yeah, you've got to teach them when they do this stuff. You know, the most appropriate thing I hear, you know, what most psychologists will tell you is you hold your thumb out and you go, I'm going to take that thumb, put it right in your eyeball if you just continue to. Oh, no, that's true, though. What movie was that? Oh, Best in Show. When the kid is on the, he's sitting on the roof and the guy comes out, he's a suicide hotline. He's a suicide hotline operator. He goes, don't worry, I can handle this. I can get him down off the roof. Son. You see this thumb? I'm going to stick that right in your eye if you don't come down off that roof right now. You understand? She's right, though. I mean, sometimes you do sit next to these babies that are perfect. They don't make a sound, and they eat their meal, and they're great. Yeah? I was that kid in this restaurant. I was not. I never acted up, dude. I read my book. I was a little kid, like four years old. I had a little book, and I read it and eat. That is cool. What happened? I don't know. Yeah, somewhere along the way. I lost my way.
570-1949-M1. Scott, are you there? Yes, I am. What's up? First of all, good morning, you guys. Love the new show. I've been a listener for a long time. Oh, thank you, man. You guys crack me up every morning. Woods, you kill me, dude. Thanks, brother. Hey, I'm a relatively young parent. I'm 41 and I have a 15-year-old, about to be a 16-year-old. And let me just tell you, kids, you know, they don't ask to be born. They are a direct reflection of their parents. So if you've got an issue with a kid, you know, they're the ones that need to be taught. You've got to look at who's doing the teaching. Yeah, that's true. But again, isn't it also hardwired into a kid to be their own individual self? Absolutely. Absolutely. But, you know, you need to guide them in the right direction and, you know, kind of prod them a little bit when they're not doing what they're supposed to be doing. Yeah, that's the deal because, listen. My son, Jake, is very well-behaved. My son, Luke, is not very well-behaved. He's only one. Sometimes you get completely different kids, though. Same parents, different kids. My brother and I, he was an angel. I was a devil. Well, you know, the parents, and you see it at the movies, you see it at church, you see it at restaurants, that when the kid starts crying...
You know, the parent that yells and is embarrassed, that's your kid's going to notice that. He's going to notice that. And what I think what my mom always did with my brother and I, if we were in a restaurant and one of us was crying, she'd take us out and she'd calm us down and bring us back. We cried again. My mom's like, well, I guess I'm not eating tonight. You know, and she'd take us out again. And that's exactly what my wife and I used to do. And until we figured out, hey, buffets are a great place, dude. Yeah. Because when you go to like hometown buffet, especially when they're small, tiny kids. Everybody's throwing food. Everybody's screaming. Everybody's yelling. Yeah. And all the parents kind of look at each other with this easy look. Like, we got it. We got it. We're cool. Yeah. I had five kids in my family growing up, and we always went to those kinds of places because it was the only place where we could have a separate booth as kids and, like, push each other around, like, throw stuff. That's what's going to be the deal. People need to chill out, man, about kids. They're kids. That's what they do. We've all been kids. It's easy for me to say we don't have kids, but, you know, I'm ready for the challenge. Is a life sentence too harsh for a guy in Texas that was convicted of what I'm going to tell you about when we come back? Steven Tyler, lead singer of Aerosmith. Is he going to be a judge on American Idol? That came up a while back, and he's got more audio of him talking, responding. We'll see next. Welcome back. It's the Mikey Show.
Sienna, what's going on in news? Well, in case you didn't hear about that big crash on Saturday at the off-road race in the Mojave Desert, eight people were killed, three men from Escondido in their 20s. Such a sad thing that happened. Also, on a lighter note, well, kind of a lighter note. I'm telling you guys, this Friday the 13th stuff is real. A 13-year-old boy was hit by lightning at 1313 on Friday the 13th. Wow. He's okay. He's okay, which is, you know, the light side of the story. So that's military time. And he was 13th, you know. 13 years old. What is that? 13-year-old boy. Happened on the 13th. Happened on Friday the 13th. Like one in the afternoon, I believe. 1313. 1313. Yeah, 113. Wow. In England. Hmm. That's nuts. I bet it happened at 1-11. No! I bet it did, too. No! Let's make it. How do you pinpoint that? There were witnesses. They saw it. It immediately recorded the time. That struck-by-lightning thing is crazy. I know it. Woodsy, what's going on in sports? Okay, so you guys all know Steven Strasburg is. San Diego native, pitched at San Diego State, pitches for the Nationals right now. He's the quote-unquote phenom.
Throws real hard, and he's real good. Well, the Nationals have the top pick. They drafted Bryce Harper, who's also a very good player. They have until midnight tonight to sign him. And basically, Strasburg has said, hey, listen, if he wants to play here, he's going to sign. If not, we don't want him here. Oh, wow. If he doesn't want to play here. Very strong words for a guy that's been in the majors for about, you know. Three minutes. Yeah, exactly. And then this was really, really sad. Stephon Johnson, you may know this guy. He played at USC. He was the guy that dropped the weight bar on his throat and crushed his larynx and all that. Well, so he comes back from that. He gets to the NFL. First game as a Titan, dislocates his ankle, man. They took him off on the cart. He had his hands over his face, tears in his eyes, and he's pointing up to heaven. Pete Carroll, it was against the Seahawks. Pete Carroll ran over, was talking to him, told him he loved him. Man, I was heartbroken for this kid. He has overcome so much, but he says he's going to be back. So, you know, continue to pray for that kid. Oh, man. What a story. Isn't that sad? I know. Tonight's 8 o'clock album is The Heavy, The House That Dirt Built. Did that catch you, Woods? Yes.
What do you guys want to call the new record? What about the house that Gary built? No, no. Because my stepfather Gary once built us a house. It doesn't have that kick to it. I like it. What about the house that Shea Holmes built? No. How about the house that Dirt built? I like it. I like it. It means they were dirt poor. Maybe that's it. It just got me. Guy in Texas gets convicted of a DWI for the ninth time. Oh, boy. And what do they give him, Sienna? Life sentence, life in prison. Do people think that's too much? 5701949? Did he hurt anyone in any of his? No. Well, he did injure a driver in the last incident. He had a blood alcohol level of 0.32, which is four times the legal limit in Texas. Yeah. I mean, and this is his ninth time, 54-year-old man. He didn't kill anyone, but yeah, injured someone. And people are saying, you know, that his sentence life in prison is too harsh because he has a struggle with alcoholism. Clearly he has a problem. So instead of putting him in jail forever, they should be, you know, putting him in rehab or something like that. And so that's the argument here because a lot of people think that that's a crazy punishment for someone. But nine DWIs, that's a DUI here.
You're driving into the influence. Aren't you waiting for him to hurt somebody? It's a matter of time before the guy kills somebody. I absolutely don't think that's too harsh for him. And yeah, he's got a drinking problem. He's had eight times to fix it. But they should have. Before the ninth time, they should have put him in rehab. I guarantee you he's been in so many alcohol classes. And definitely done time already. Oh, yeah, you've done time. I have been in that guy's shoes, not nine times, but I've been there. I mean, I'd have to see what kind of, you know, what kind of, I don't know what the word I'm looking for. punishment he's had so far. Has he had to have the thing on his car to start his car, a breathalyzer? Guaranteed. It would have to see what the court has tried to do to lead up to this. And you don't want to wait for this dude to hurt somebody. No. You know, that's the thing. Let's see. M1 Tom, are you there? I am here. What do you think? You know, I'm thinking that this is this guy's ninth deal, his ninth DWI. And after a ninth one, there's already been so much, so many classes.
rehab-type options that were probably court-ordered. And at this point, if this guy's on his ninth one, lock him up, put him in jail. Maybe not life, but give him some years in jail. Definitely some years. I bet you he's an older dude, isn't he? He's 54. He's 54? He had some other crimes that he'd committed before, a rap sheet of burglary, credit card abuse, supplying alcohol to a minor. I mean, he's gotten in some trouble before. but nothing that you would think would cause life. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, and here's the thing. When I was in high school, we had three kids from our high school were killed by a drunk driver in the middle of the afternoon by a woman on her third offense. Yep. And you sit there and you say, you know, why was she slapped on the wrist two times and now the third time she, you know, she destroys all these families. Yeah. And imagine if it was a ninth. Right. The ninth, you're going to be like, why wasn't more done? But I think life might be a little. A little harsh. So Steven Tyler was asked about if he's going to be an American Idol judge. Here's what I thought was interesting about that clip besides everything. They're going to have to lay out some bread for me. Like dough. I know. Like Mike.
Money. He's talking about money. Cash. Oh. Cold hard. Last time they used the word bread? Bread. He's still stuck in the 70s. Yeah. Hey, Jack, you're going to need to lay out some bread for me on the flip side. I pulled up to a dude the other day, yesterday, on a motorcycle. And it was one of those motorcycles that was so loud. It was so obnoxious. That when he's driving fast, I mean, it was loud. Like, it hurt my ears. Yeah. And I actually, the thought went through my head. I thought, how come it doesn't hurt his ears? Like, it hurt my ears 100 feet away from it. How does it not hurt his ears sitting on it? Because he's in on it. He's in on the whole thing. Well, I know, but how does it... No, no, he likes it. No, I know. Noise canceling helmet, maybe? But I'm saying that even if it does, even if you like it, it still is, you know, the decibels is loud. He's got his helmet on. I like, you know, the deftones, but if you turn it up loud enough, it's going to hurt because it's so loud. That's what I was wondering. But anyway, so I pull up next to the dude. He's probably like in his late 50s or something. And, you know, he's all done up. He's got the gear on and everything. And he had one of those bikes that had a stereo on it. And a song was ending. And I don't know what the song was, but I was like, oh, my gosh, I'm fascinated to know what's going to play next. And it was The Doors Love Her Madly.
And I thought to myself, I'm looking at this dude, right? Gray goatee, right? Black sunglasses on, the helmet, all the leather stuff in his bike. And I was thinking to myself, that dude had a real good time in high school to love her madly. You have to be a confident person to be on your bike and play your radio for everyone. Yes. I mean, how many times do you roll up your window and turn your music down because you don't want people to listen to you? Oh, yeah. I do it all the time. Did I tell you guys about when I was filling up with gas, the Chevron that's close to us? I was filling up with gas, and I see this dude, and he pulls up on this badass bike, pulls up to the thing, gets out. He's got his earbuds in, and so he's listening to tunes. And I'm filling up, and I look over at him. I'm like. That guy's kind of a hard ass. Cool. What's up, man? I'm looking at him. All of a sudden, out of nowhere, he's like, I was getting tired of my lady. And he starts singing. On my mother.
He's like, do you like Pina Claus? I swear on my mother. On my mother. That's fantastic. I was like. That is a confidence. And he could have cared less. He's looking at me like, do you like Pina Claus? That is great. I was looking at him like, are you kidding? And this bike was like chromed out. He was a real big hard ass. Dude, that would be a great movie scene. Sailing takes me away. He's like, man, I feel like a woman. Always and forever. That is fantastic. I can't believe I forgot to tell you guys that. It was fantastic. 5701949 is our number. What do you think of this email? Mikey, need to ask you what you think about a situation I'm running into at work. Let me see. How can I say this? I lied about my college education to get a job. I started college but never finished. I saw this company's posting that said, must have a college degree. So I lied and I got the job. It was a small company and they love me and I'm killing it. But now, three years later, the company is getting bought by a big company and going public. They want to do background checks on everyone. Should I come clean before they find out?
Or should I just wait and see if this is the kind of stuff they're looking for? Help, M1 Daniel. That's an interesting question. Should you come clean or should you wait? Well, first of all, I think that what you did first was a mistake. You know who wouldn't have to worry about this? You know who doesn't have to worry about this? True, true. I do think it was a mistake. Well, it wasn't a mistake. Actually, I want to rephrase that. What you did the first time was wrong. Right. You knew what you were doing. You knew what you were doing. It wasn't a mistake. Right. I purposefully did something wrong. You didn't trip and fall. But I think that the, what I think the appropriate thing to do is, I think that if they come to you and they ask you about it, you come clean. Do I think that you go the extra step of turning yourself in? That's between you and God, in my opinion. You know, if it were me.
and I did something bad, and I'm asked about it, I tell the truth. It's not about why this, it's about what next. And so I tell the truth if they ask me about it. But I don't go and go, hey, by the way, I now want to put my foot deeper in it by letting you know, you know. I don't think that there's any altruism in that. There doesn't seem to be any. I would totally do that. I agree with you because as a guy that recruited for years and, you know, that was the number one thing, man. We did background checks on everybody. And you would be surprised at these guys that you talk to. They've got 20 years in the business. They're top producers. They say that they graduated college and they didn't. And I'm like, bro, you didn't have to lie to me. You didn't have to lie to me. All you had to do was tell me you never finished. we weren't even looking for a college student. And if you came and asked that, that's what they should do. I would tell them and they would still lie. And I'm like...
Did you not think we were going to catch you? See, I just think no matter what, you're going to score whatever points you can get back if you go up to them and just say, look, and you're honest, and you say, I did lie about this. Even if they're not questioning you, if you wait for them to come and question you, then you look shady because you sat back even when you knew. And you're hiding it. Maybe they're not looking for that. That's what I was going to say. What if they're just looking for criminals? Right, and they could be. Hey, man, if you've been there three years and you are killing it, as you say, you're killing it. Dude, listen. They're not going to, what I've found, they're not going to fire you, man, for that. But the parent company might. It was a dumb move. It was a dumb move, but I'm killing it for you. I don't know, man. I think you got to take it by the horns. And I'm also not thinking about it from the perspective of, oh my goodness, I want to try to hide this. How do I get away with this further? Right. My thinking on it is, this is unnecessary. In my opinion, it's unnecessary. to further make a jerker yourself. So you think it's going to raise some flags if the guy's walking and going, so what are they going to look for? What are they going to do? No, I think I would just, the damage was already done, so I would just sit back and wait.
And if they came to me, I would say, yeah. I mean, at the time, I thought it was a really necessary thing. I think I've proved myself up to this point. It was stupid that I did that. But if you do the preemptive, like, hey, by the way, I lied on my application three years ago. It depends on how you do it. I just think if I was a boss and my employee came forward with something that they lied about and it showed that they had a conscience and it was eating at them that they did that, I would be like, man, props to you for having the guts to walk in here. Like, that isn't even what we were looking at. Or maybe it was. But it shows that that's a good person. cares about their job I could see that you'd hate to lose you'd hate to lose that gig man where you've been killing it for three years here's the thing it depends on the relationship like if I did something like that I'd feel comfortable enough going to you Mike or even Garrett our program director and I think I have a close enough relationship that I'd be like look I did this and I have to tell you because I'm like driving myself crazy mm-hmm yeah five seven oh one ninety four nine what do you think and you can also text us nine four nine Mikey at gmail.com. Has anybody ever done that? Have you ever lied your way into a job? Absolutely. Everyone probably. You ever fudge on your resume back in the day? You ever have a resume? No. No. I never did because I was terrified. Did you not? I had... I never. I fudged some numbers on mine. I never did. Oh, yeah, bro. Like, you know, because we had this award called Marketer of the Month, and I won it four times. Maybe I said I won it six times. You know, stuff like that. You weren't afraid?
No, because they can't prove that. That's how I got my internship. Really? I told them I was going to college for radio. Then I was not going to college for radio. I was not going to college. Wow. What about the contact information that you put on an application or whatever? You put your godmother's phone number down? Your references. Bark Maumann has always been my reference. Always. I put friends, but I put their real profession. Yeah. Well, I put Bark Maumann, who was my best friend. Senior sales manager, Clear Channel Inc. You know what I mean? They're going to call him and get that reference from him. You ever had anybody ask if you could be a reference and you're like, oh, I don't really want to be. Bro, I had to ask you for the adoption thing and I was about to vomit. Why? I just was. I don't know. Asking somebody to be a reference for something like that, I was like, bleh. I texted Mark Malman. I said, hey, can I list you as a reference for our adoption? He writes back in a text. He goes, please don't. But he was kidding. It was so funny when Woods asked me to be a reference. Oh, wait. Yeah, I've known you six months. You imagine if they call her and they're like, it says here that he's known you two years. Yeah, exactly. She's like, no, that's not correct. Yeah, I've known him. I barely know him. I barely know him. Who's Steve Woods? 570-1949. Woods on Sports. Yeah, Woods on Sports.
Have you ever lied your way into a job? I have not, because I was always afraid. I was afraid that somebody would call me on something. Man, you just, you, if you knew some of the stuff that I saw, and we verified everything, you know, and we'd call their employee and be like, so it says there that Lauren was here for two years. She was a top producer. And the guy's like, that broad worked here for three days. You know what I mean? And you're like, how do you think you're going to get away with that? I never, ever, ever, ever, ever did. We'll take calls, but I want to ask. Sienna, if she knows about the pictures that Terry Hatcher posted of herself. Have you seen the pictures? She posted these pictures of herself and she's not wearing any makeup. And basically what she's, you know, kind of bringing up to people is, well, how bad do I look and is beauty about makeup or is it, you know, about who we are? Here's the thing. It's not about Botox to me. I don't have any judgment about doing Botox or not doing Botox. I've done Botox. I may do it again. I don't know. It's not the point. First time I saw it, I went, holy cow. Really? The picture? Well, yeah. I mean, but... You have that? I want to see it. You can Google it. If you Google Terry Hatcher picture, you'll find it immediately. She looked weird? Yeah, but it was because part...
Part of the reason that it looks so bad, and I'm just being honest, it looked bad. But part of the reason that it looks so bad is because she's making a sourpuss. I bet she's like this. Yeah, she's kind of making a face that looks weird. And if it's not about the way you look, she's had more work done than almost any TV star that I've seen. Really? Yeah, the first time I saw her on the, what was that show? Desperate Housewives? Yeah. I had seen her as Lois Lane on the Superman years ago, and she was on that. I'm like, what'd she do to her face? Holy smokes. Let me see it. Holy smokes. It's because she's making it, like, okay, Lauren. Ew. But if she did, if she had, like, her hair normal and just didn't have makeup on and maybe was smiling. Yeah. But she's making this face. Let me see, Sienna. The second one's not that bad. I really like her right now. Imagine waking up next to that after a long night, pal. How come, Sienna? Because it's brave kind of deal? Well, not only that, it's just like she is, her hair is soaking wet. She has like a zit or something on her forehead. And it's like you can portray yourself without makeup.
to look a lot prettier. Yeah. And it was like, she was intentionally trying to look bad to show women, you know, what, what she can really look like. Yeah. And I admire that. Well, I do too. I mean, I actually, I actually do admire the thought, but one of the things I thought was strange about it was, Hey, listen, cause I kind of follow in her thinking here. My, I go, I don't think women have to wear makeup to be beautiful. In fact, Lauren and Sienna, they don't wear a lot of makeup and they're beautiful. And so. I don't think you have to. My wife is beautiful without makeup. And so I don't think that women have to wear makeup to be beautiful. But the face. What are you doing with the face? Why are you making a face? She's showing the Botox. And the lines. And the lines. She's like scrunching her face so that you can see a wrinkle. Is it for some sort of campaign or just? TerryHatcher.com. I don't know. I've seen ghouls better looking than that. It just seems like an attention cry. Guarding the front of a castle. Absolutely. It doesn't make any sense. I'd rather make out with a gargoyle than Terry Hatcher in that picture. Holy smokes. Well, dude, if she was wearing makeup and she was making that face. But if she was making that face with makeup on, wouldn't you go, that looks weird. Will you take that down? Because it's scaring me. She's trying to pout. Let's put it on the website so people can see it. It's like a serial killer. Jay, I'll send it to you right now. I don't get it.
I really don't. She's saying beauty is skin deep. Everybody's doing it now, though. Have you seen that? Everybody's taking their makeup off now. Well, they were just showing on Kathie Lee and that other chick show. They have, like, no makeup days where they're on TV with no makeup. Is that a thing with girls now? That is ballsy. That dudes need to know about? Like, this is a thing? This is becoming a thing? Let's not start a bit, guys. No. We do that bit every morning. I'm telling you, especially if women is your demographic and you have a show like that and you're going to do it. Do you know how many women are going to go to look to see what they look like without makeup and love them for doing that? Because so many women, they don't have the time to put the makeup on every day. They don't have the effort or the money to go buy all this stuff. Well, and I think it shows guys, too, that like, yeah, celebrities look a certain way because of lighting and camera and makeup. Not everybody, nobody can be as perfect as you're portrayed. Hey, listen. Hang on a second. I don't care how much makeup you put on some girls, they ain't going to look like Megan Fox. Right. Well, no, yeah. You know what I mean? But I've heard things about what Megan Fox looks like in person. She's a sweet little angel. She's an angel. I've heard.
Really? Have you? Have you? I have. Megan Fox? Megan Fox. Please. What, is she ugly without Megan? I cannot imagine her looking bad. I have, I've heard. She looks like a sleet stack from Land of the Lost when you take that stuff off. I've heard she's a little like Marilyn Manson-esque and she's even said it herself in interviews. No way. She looks like a tranny. In. Not buying it. She looks like a tranny. That's one tranny I'm all the way in on. Maybe I Google Megan Fox without makeup. Let's see if we can find it. She's an angel. She can do no wrong. Pretty hard to ugly up Megan Fox. Well, I saw Paris Hilton in person a couple times. Let's just say praying mantis came to mind. Wow. I think I found one. Did you really find one? I think so. It says Megan Fox about makeup. It's loading. It's going to be like a porn site. We're used to seeing. Gorgeous. She's still gorgeous. We're used to seeing. You can't really see her that well. Look. She's still beautiful. She's beautiful. Flawless. Flawless. Flawless. See, we see Sienna and Lauren. without makeup like when they put makeup on woods don't you kind of go I look really different yeah it is it's different it's it's still good though I mean I'm still good no it's good like you guys look good without my wife too man I call her classic beauty because she doesn't have to slather a lot of stuff on her face but when she does come out all done up I'm like nice yeah that makeup's good but I can also wake up next to her and go oh nice yeah I think it's just trying to show that like hey they're not as perfect as the image that
that goes out in public. We know that now. I don't want Laura Ingalls Wilder, okay? Seriously, dude. I don't want Nelly. Like Terry Hatcher, I will never look at her the same again. But, I mean, there's little things. on your skin, blemishes and stuff like that, that, like, on Friday, if we have listeners in the studio, it's like, that's the day I'm going to try to put a little makeup on, you know? Yeah, me too. Like, you want to try to look nice, so I understand. We all fancy up on Fridays. Yeah. Not so much throughout the rest of the week. I know. I'm wearing running shoes right now. I didn't even fancy up on Fridays until we started taking pictures. Yeah. And that was a real test. President Obama said that Muslims have the right to build that mosque at Ground Zero. Then the next day had to respond to those comments. And we have both of those comments. And you're going to hear them. Number one country song in America is Taylor Swift. The song's called Mine. It really is. I believe you. I thought you liked her. I do. Little Angel.
I don't like it when Jay says he likes her. Does she have age? Yeah. You have to find out before you make your creepy comment. Yes. I think. I don't even know. Sure hope so. 18? Okay. Yeah, it's different when I say it than when Jay says it. Because Jay's 47. Jay says it and I love Taylor. Yeah, he has two daughters that are older than her. Yeah, exactly. Ew. It's creepy. I do not have any daughters there. Put it like that. The Mikey Show is myself, Woodsy. Oh, I'm not supposed to say myself. That guy's going to get so mad and write me another email. How dare you? Easy Captain Callout. The Mikey Show is me and Woods and L.O.B. and Sienna and Jay. I mean, technically, you should have said all of us first and then said me. And then said me. Technically. Technically. Let's see. Oh, don't forget Jared has a new website. He does createyourdesignonline.com if you're looking for a graphic designer, somebody to do a website for you, make business cards, that kind of deal. He does that, but he also does this new thing where he'll take a photograph that you have and make it look like a painted portrait.
It's amazing. I called Jared this week because my wife and I are adopting a child, and we have to put together this three- or four-page portfolio full of pictures and all kinds of stuff, so Jared's actually going to do it for me. No way. He's going to do it. It's going to look sharp. Amazing. Oh, yeah. I bet you we get picked. Of course. Picked. His new website is portraitprints.net. PortraitPrince.net. That dude is a pro, man. He's like, oh, Woods, don't worry. I'll take care of it. I know how to do this. Because I am not good at that stuff. And, you know, Jamie's pretty good at it. But this guy, he's going to kill it for us. He can knock it out of the park in no time. Hey, we got an email from M1Hanna. And I wanted to mention this because you've probably seen it on the news. Her dad has gone missing. And, again, this has been big San Diego news. And her dad's name is David Mao. And if anybody knows anything about his disappearance, he drives a 2005 Silver GMC Envoy license plate 5LJV959. They've created a Facebook page for him, Help Find David Mao. And they also have a website, HelpFindDavidMao.com, M-O-W.
They don't really know what's going on. He's been missing since July 22nd. It's heartbreaking, man. And they really don't know any details. They don't know what happened. But because Hannah is an M1, certainly we would love to help in any way that we can. And so that's what we could do. We could give you that website. Helpfinddavidmau.com if you know anything about it. President Obama. had this to say about the mosque that they're considering building at Ground Zero. Let me be clear. As a citizen and as president, I believe that Muslims have the right to practice their religion as everyone else in this country. And that includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in lower Manhattan in accordance with local laws and ordinances. This is America. And our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakable. The principle that people of all faiths are welcome in this country and that they will not be treated differently by their government is essential to who we are. He is 100% right. You know, the only thing that I, you know, the only issue that I think that anybody has with it is the issue of sensitivity.
And how it can certainly be thought of as being highly insensitive to build the mosque. Right next to Ground Zero. Right next to Ground Zero. The location. Some people find that in poor taste or to be... But I wonder who would be up in arms if the people that were flying those planes were Christian and the church was built. They would probably be very up in arms. In fact, they wouldn't be allowed to if it weren't America. In fact, if it were a country where the overwhelming religion of the land were not that, you wouldn't be allowed to do it. In this case? Yeah, in this case, Christianity is the overwhelming... So you're saying if it was two Jewish guys that hijacked that plane and they were going to build a synagogue, you think people would be flipping out this bed? No, no, no. No, what I'm saying is that if we, if the same tragedy had happened in, say, a country that speaks Farsi. But there's plenty of people that are Muslim in America. Right. Yeah, it's just not the overriding religion. For instance, in a Muslim country, Islam is the overriding religion. Had a tragic thing happened in a Muslim country.
and it had happened in the name of Christianity, they wouldn't be allowed to build a Christian church. Right, exactly. But you're also talking about New York City, which is a lot more diverse than if you look at America as a whole. Yeah, but that doesn't change whether or not somebody finds it distasteful. I mean, legal? Of course. They're not breaking any rules. That's what I said. I agree with him. Yeah, but I would like to see the breakdown of how many people actually practice that religion in that area. If it's really a slap in the face or if it really is just serving the community. It's just I think the people see that area in particular as a really sad area now where people go to visit and to pay respects and to be sad. And the people who cause that sadness are now going to... Worship in the same spot. And that's what's important to remember. It's not the same people. There's wackos that did it. We said it the first day we talked about it. It's like, okay, yeah, you have every right to do so, but man, aren't you just opening yourself up to something? Pouring salt in the wound. I don't think it's salt in the wound. I think it is possibly opening yourself up to something. And see, I agree with you, except for possibly. I think there's no question something's going to happen, and then we're the...
Well, yeah, stuff is already happening. There was a mosque that was harassed. They did something in Texas recently because of this. I mean, it's like, you know, you have to know that people are going to rebel. It's touchy. That's really touchy. Well, President Obama took some heat for saying that. And here's how he responded to it the next day. everybody equally in accordance with the law regardless of race regardless of religion i was not commenting and i will not comment on the wisdom of making a decision to put a mosque there i was commenting very specifically on the right that people have that he's right back to our founding that's what our country is about and i think it's very important that you know as difficult as some of these issues are you know we stay focused on who we are as a people and what our values are all about. Gosh, he has to think so carefully when he speaks. Whenever I hear Barack Obama now, I picture Mikey's face. Isn't that sad? Our president, I picture Mikey. Is that because I do the voice? M1 Sarah from San Diego, are you there? What's up?
being built is the name that they've chosen for it. I've heard that. It's called Cordoba. And basically that was one of the, that was the first city of Western civilization that the Muslims came in and conquered in Spain. And so that has a lot of controversy of why are you building that name of a mosque next to ground zero? It was like almost their conquering. Gosh. Wow. Yeah, that makes it worse. In my opinion, a lot worse. That makes it a little worse. Now, let me just say this. I've heard that, okay? The name of the mosque is Cordoba, and somebody sent me something that said that. The only reason that I haven't said it on the air is because I've read it. I just don't know if it's true. Yeah. Okay? Sarah has now said it, but I don't know if it's true. So we've got to wait and see. I mean, that changes things. It really does. And, yeah, the wisdom of it all. Stupid. I just need to know. You know me.
You guys know how I operate. I don't want to be the guy that goes on and says stuff that turns out to be... You don't want to be the guessing guy. We talk about that all the time. I've done sports stories even that were like, eh, we can't do that because we don't know if it's true yet. You look like dummies. You look like an idiot. I look like an idiot plenty. Because, I mean, I do the news, and I haven't seen that anywhere. I just Googled it right now, and there's an article from the Associated Press, but it says the mosque is a project of the Cordoba Initiative. Yeah. You know, and listen, I'm not saying it isn't true. Maybe it is. I'm just saying that, you know. My oldest brother, Mark, has said this since I was a little kid. Just because somebody says it, don't make it so. I've heard that from my brother since I was a little kid. And it stuck with me, and I think it's true. I mean, I'm not saying it isn't true. Maybe it is. If that is true, that's kind of, again, in really poor taste. Yeah, I mean, if you take the emotion out of the situation, then you would say, yes, everything that Obama said. We're a country built on religious freedom. Absolutely. You know, freedom of speech, everything.
But if there are some underlying, you know, motivations, then that changes it. M1 Anthony? Yeah, how are you guys doing? Good. Yeah, actually, just a couple comments about this mosque. You know, they talk about it being built at ground zero. I mean, it's actually being built about three blocks away, and there's already another mosque already built, like, a couple blocks away from that one. And it's just interesting to me that, like, it's how political it's turned with having something that's just, I mean, on-state community center. And there was a great piece done recently on The Daily Show where they went to actually where they're going to build it. And there's a ton of Muslim people there who just live there. I mean, it's hard not to remember that, you know, a lot of people who are just, you know, Muslims who aren't fanatical, who aren't crazy like that, lost their lives as well. You know, and it's like to say the same people who attacked us or the same people who are building the mosque, I mean, they're not the same, you know. To be fair, though, Anthony, to be fair, it isn't just a community center. It's also a place of worship in a mosque. It is. It's both. And no one's saying that they should be tearing down mosques that were already there. I think it's just a touchy subject to build a new one right there. And it is. I mean, it's touchy. Obviously, it's touchy, yeah. I mean, it's a big deal. But it's like what I said, too. It's like if it's serving a community of there's a lot of people there that practice that and it just happens to be three blocks away, then people can connect the dots if they want to. But I don't know enough about the motivation behind it and if there is controversy behind it.
570-1949 or 949mikey at gmail.com if you want to call us and weigh in on it. I'm having surgery next week, which I'm really glad. I can't wait to get this over with. I got a hernia that I'm having repaired in my gut for the third time. Maybe make that ride. Hopefully this time it sticks. Yeah, third time's a charm. Yeah, third time's a charm. Kid will bring you some real sweet treats in the hospital, pal. Nice. I like it. I like some soup. I'll bring you some soup. I like soup. He'll bring you some flowers, some chocolates. Tortilla soup. I'll bring you some tortilla soup. Anything that a lover would bring. A Monday gun. I knew I'd quit you. Really? Just one pal helping out another guy. Yeah, with red roses. Just friends. Oh, wow. And nothing more. What about you, Lauren? Are you going to bring me in? I'll bring you stuff. Real sweetly. I won't say it in that sweet, sultry voice, but I'll bring you some stuff. Lauren's going to show up and go, hey, Mike. Can I borrow 20 bucks? Yeah. We'll borrow some money from you, pal. You almost done with this? Yeah. I got things I got to do. Hey, you almost done? Yeah. Lauren's going to show up and go, hey, how long do we have to visit you? I've got to go for a jog later. So can we...
How long did you stay? 15 minutes? 15? Is that good? Can you pick me up? And then I can't stay. I can't stay. I can maybe... I'll wave to him, but I can't. I'm going to drive separate. Lauren, I'll pick you up. No, I'll drive separate. That way you can leave whatever I want. Hi, Mike. Bye, Mike. Hi, Mike. Bye, Mike. You guys act like this happens all the time. No, we just pulled that out of the name. 12 words that you didn't know that you were mispronouncing. Oh, this is great. Now, I have to be, I'm not sure how many. Well, you better pronounce them right. Well, I know. Doesn't that scare you? No. You're scared to death. I can pronounce them. It has the breakdown of how to pronounce them. But I wanted to ask you guys to see if you knew, and I'm not sure. How to ask you. How to pronounce them. How to pronounce, how you pronounce it to see if you're right. You know what I mean? Spell it. Spell it. Okay. Here's a restaurant. C-H-I-P. Hey, wait, hang on. Don't yell it out? Don't yell it out. Okay. C-H-I-P-O-T-L-E. Oh, wow. It's a Mexican restaurant. This is familiar. Okay. I know for sure how to say this. Me too. Me too. Mexican. Chipotle.
Chipotle. Chipotle. Chipotle. You're all right. Yes. Chipotle. I say Chipotle. I've heard Chipotle. Oh, God. Yes. Oh, wow. I've heard Chipotle. From Hoyle, yeah. I thought that is how you say it. How is it? Oh, now I'm embarrassed. I went to Chipotle the other day and I got myself a nice bean. I heard you say Chipotle the other day. I didn't say Chipotle. I said Chipotle. It's Chipotle. I go down to Chipotle and I get the no antibiotics pork. They don't use antibiotics. They don't use any... Delish. Falsicities. Okay. Here's another one that Lauren and Jay love. Holy cow. This just in. There's a new car chase happening in Los Angeles right now. There was one two hours ago. The second car chase today. Wow. My goodness. Sorry. Go ahead. Okay. Here's another one. A. C. A-I. No one knows this one. It's like the smoothie drink. This is the worst. I say acai. And I now say acai because of her. Now I do too and I feel like you're an idiot every time I say it. I know. I would always say acai. I thought it was a kai. I thought it was a kai. What is it? Acai. Yeah! Acai. She's right. Karate move.
They say you pronounce it like it's A-H dash S-A-H dash E-E. A-S-A-I. A-S-A-I. A-S-A-I. It's the in, like, you know. Oh, it's such the hip berry to be feasting on right now. A-S-A-I. A-S-A-I. Okay. Now, here's another one. Okay, go. It's another type of coffee. E-S. P-R-E-S-S-O. Oh, I know what people say. We're saying that wrong? Espresso? Espresso. That's right. People say expresso. People say expresso. And I want to punch them in their lip. Drives me nuts. Express. In their lip. Can I get an expresso? I guarantee you my father would say expresso. Oh, yeah. This is Statler Brothers, American Online. Yep, yep. American Online. I think I say it.
I think I say espresso. No, you don't. I think I do too. You guys. Of course Jay does. I know that it's espresso, but I think I'm like, oh, an extra shot of espresso. I think I do. Oh my gosh. Don't ever do it again. I'm so sorry. I still will do it, I'm sure. Jay talks about old timers disease. Old timers. Yeah, Alzheimer's. Alzheimer's. Alzheimer's. Alzheimer's. Okay, here's another really good one. Alzheimer's. It's something at a Greek restaurant. Oh, gosh. I always say this wrong. G-Y-R-O. I got it. I think it's hero. No, it's gyro. I say gyro. I mean gyro. Gyro. It's gyro. Gyro. Yes! Gyro. Can I get a gyro? Isn't it gyro and O-B-G-Y-N? I say gyro. That's gyno. No, that's gyno. My friend Rob Mastros, a.k.a. Gerolibos Mastranopoulos. That's his real name. He taught me how to say gyro because I was saying gyro. Oh, I want a gyro. He's like, easy, hayseed. I thought it was gyro. I thought you were going to say that tzatziki sauce or whatever. Tzatziki sauce. Okay, now here's one that...
Now that I'm telling you, you're going to stumble across it, and now you're going to know. Okay. It's a very, very common Vietnamese last name. Tila Tequila. I already know it. Tila Tequila's last name. Nguyen. Yeah, Nguyen. It's N-G-U-Y-E-N. Nguyen. Nguyen. Nguyen? Nguyen. Yeah, Nguyen. It's the Smith of the Vietnamese world. Oh, yeah. It's as common as, like, Smith. I see it all the time, and if I have a story to tell, I'm like, and... There was a book, I can't remember when I was a little kid, and I'll never forget it. I was reading it, and I was like, Nagayan, Nagayan. That guy's last name's Nagayan? I thought that for 15 years. Me too, me too. It wasn't until Dat Nguyen started playing linebacker for the Cowboys that I figured it out. Okay, here's a punctuation symbol. A-S-T-E-R-I-S-K. Asterisk. Asterisk. Asterisk. Asterisk. That's a hard one. I've never said it right in my life now that I'm reading this. Asterisk. Asterisk. You say asterisk. I say asterisk. Asterisk. Asterisk. I think I say asterick. Asterick. It's asterisk. Asterisk. That's a hard one too. Man, that's hard. That's my friend's dog's name. Asterisk? Yeah. What about the little scooter that you ride around on the sidewalk? Razor?
No, it's Vespa. No, S-E-G-U-E. Segway. Segway. Oh. Segway. Some people call it a Segu. Or a Segu. A Seeg. Segway. Segway. Okay, what about this one? S-U-D-O-K-U. Sudoku. I have a problem with that. Sudoku. Sudoku. Sudoku. Sudoku. Sudoku. Right? Is that Sudoku? I hate that game. Woodsy? Yeah, Sudoku. Sudoku. Yeah. Those are all the best ones. Sudoku. That game is ridiculous. It's taking over the airport. Asahi! Nguyen. Tila Nguyen. Yeah, Tila Nguyen. Oh, wow. There's some stuff that can be changed in us as dudes by women. Really? Yeah, but there's some stuff that cannot be changed. Please. Nothing. I'll tell you when we come out. I'm going to give you what you want. Ladies and gentlemen, let's give a big Pueblo, Colorado welcome to Mr. Bad Blake. To those listening, if you haven't seen the movie Crazy Heart, you probably want to get on that. That's Jeff Bridges. I want to know him. I do too. I said to Woods the other day, in fact, I remember where we were when we were driving, because I always remember where I am driving when I have conversations. I said to Woods,
We're on Encinitas Boulevard in 101. Together in the car? Yes. And I said, holding hands, yeah. Massaging each other's feet with lanolin. With what? Lanolin. I go, dude, if Jeff Bridges wanted to make some dough, what if he did a tour as Bad Blake? I think you guys are overestimating the Crazy Heart phenomenon. My dad loves it. I think it's you guys. I don't think so, because every person I've told to watch it, you haven't even seen it, so you can zip it. I was so upset that Isabel hadn't seen it. Hey, way to watch, you know, Confessions of a Shopaholic and not Crazy Heart. Hey, you know what? I was trying to bond with my wife. Unbelievable. You still haven't seen it? No. Ridiculous. I will watch it. We're not every person that we've told. Bring it in for him. I don't have it. I have it on my laptop. I think I do. I have it. Every person that we've said, hey, watch it. You clown. I have like a thousand movies. Watch it. I will. I'll tell you what, though. Movies like Donnie Darko, phenomenal, but not huge blockbuster hits. But Crazy Heart won an Oscar. It won two Oscars. Donnie Darko won an Oscar winner. It should have been. Bridges won an Oscar and Ryan Bingham won. Oh, really? Yeah. Oh, then maybe. The movie's brilliant. I hear mixed reviews. I think the music's good, too. Oh, the music. He does a great job.
My dad has a soundtrack and the DVD. He loves it, too. He should do, like, a bar crawl. Yeah, he should. That'd be awesome. He doesn't need the money, dude. If we heard that Jeff Bridges was going to be playing Bad Blake, playing at 4th and B. Or, like, in Cahoots. In Cahoots. I wonder if Mikey would go on a school night. Oh, absolutely. I think he would. I'd say we're, you know. He would not. I think he would. Every M1. He would go. Invite him and say, what are we going to do? It's Jeff Bridges playing Bad Blake. That's Bad Blake. What am I supposed to do? Jacob McClure's up there. Is that a phone call where you're like, dude, let's go, or are you kind of embarrassed to admit that you're going? Oh, no embarrassment at all. None? I make a t-shirt. Yeah, I rent a billboard space to say I'm going. Team Bad Blake. Yeah, and on the back it says I was born bad and I'm going to die bad. Yeah. It's what we talk about the whole morning. It's all of us going. So great. Speaking of good, FM 94.9 and Fantasy Jam is going to be good this year. He's not playing there. He's not playing. We should get him to play. Edward Sharp, The Magnetic Zeros, Rogue Wave, The Whigs, Delta Spirit. And the local stage is going to be good, too. Silent Comedy, Nervous Records, Burning of Rome, White Apple Tree. Now, this is a $30 show. Oceanside Pier, August 29th. And it's going to be good weather. It's going to be fun. The Burning of Rome is like...
coolest band name i love that it's pretty cool yeah uh so enjoy um let's see okay yeah stuff that women can change about a man and stuff they can't okay I have three different lists or categories. You cannot change. You can change and don't even bother trying to change. I like it. I feel like everything should be on the don't even bother to change. Well, the don't even bother is more like this is not the guy for you if you have a problem with this. Oh, I gotcha. But the don't change, you don't like how he dresses. Don't try and change it. Every woman I know changes the way a guy dresses. I 1,000% change the way I dress. You two women change the way Woods and I dress. Yep. It's funny because my wife never has. But you guys have. But maybe that's... I think that may have irritated Rebecca. That she couldn't change the way I dress, but these two girls changed. Wouldn't that kind of... If you were trying to change something about Todd, and then all of a sudden the two new girls at work... Oh, I would be mad to think of it. Yeah, that's true. When you put it that way. But we don't consider ourselves the two new girls at work. We're like your two little sisters.
Yeah, but that's his wife. That he's not listening to. But Rebecca can't nag at you for what you wear because it would hurt your feelings. We kind of can. Something about calling you out on air, too, with all the listeners backing them up. That's true. We had phone lines backing us up. Surveys. Something you cannot change if he plays music too loud in his car. Jamie Woods. Did she try to change it? She tries. She turns it down, and I'm like, do not touch my stereo. Kim does the same thing. I said, I can't help you hate music. I love it. Leave it alone. Ditto. It's embarrassing. People are looking. What is with guys playing their music loud in cars? You know what's with Rebecca and I, it's reversed. She likes it loud. I'm my dad. I get in the car. I turn the radio off. Clown. When you're with somebody else? Yeah. Yeah. When I'm with somebody else, I want it, like, way down or off. I turn it off. You should have a conversation. I turn the volume completely to where you can't hear anything. I drove us home the other night from the meet and greet. The radio's cranked. Mikey's probably like, oh, God, get me out of here. Yeah, loud as it can go. Yeah, well, I feel like I'm not even riding with anybody. Yeah, exactly. Like, you're in your world and I'm in my world. Yeah, I'm driving. Let me jam.
So we all agree that's something that we can't change. Yeah, you can't change that. Okay. Don't even try. He eats too quickly, noisily, and unhealthily. I eat unhealthily, I guess, but I'm not a loud eater or the other thing. We all eat quick. She does this. I breathe. You know. You guys have heard me. And she's like, we'll just be eating and watching TV. And she's like, dear. And I'm like, what? You're breathing so loud. I'm like, okay, sorry. Do you say sorry? No. I know. Because I've been around people that do weird, loud stuff when they eat. I'm never aware of it. Other people have to point it out to me because I'm in my own world. That is my number one pet peeve is when people eat loud and that noise. Mark Bauman. It takes a lot for me to notice. I don't even notice. It's the smacking of the gums. Eating pizza, looking at you while he's talking to you. Yeah, that food sounds real good. I had one boyfriend that ate way too fast and another boyfriend that would take breaks and eat really slow. He used to take breaks and cross his hands. I'd be like, you down already? He would cross his hands? Yeah, like this. Oh, that is a little too feminine. He drives me nuts!
They have a bow in his hair and he's on a swing? I know. He would be like, same thing that Jay just said. Just letting it digest. I'm letting myself get full. It's the smart thing to do. Do that after. It made me feel like a pig because I'd be like, are you done with that? Actually, I wasn't, but feast. This is one that really bugs me too. And Woods, you can do it. And I don't know how you do it. He doesn't turn down the TV when you get a phone call. You can make a phone call when we're... all having a conversation, and there's so much background noise, and Woods is just on the phone, no problem. I don't get annoyed by, like, the only time I get annoyed by outside noises is when I'm trying to sleep, and that's it. But, like, if you guys are having a convo, or, like, Mikey's jamming the radio, or, like, I'm playing, like, if you're playing the guitar, I'd be like, whatever, it just doesn't bother me. The bother is everybody else in here. I get nervous. When we're in the car, and we're doing anything, and Rebecca makes a phone call. I want everybody to be quiet. So she can concentrate. Right, right. Yeah, absolutely. The music goes down when my phone rings in the car. Oh, yeah. But here's one thing that guys will do, or at least guys I've been around. Even if you're the only one with them, they have to walk away when they get a phone call. Oh, I hate that! Yeah.
Yeah, I do that. Walk into another room. Walk outside. Walk around the block. Oh, yeah. It's like, what's the covert up? They're always suspicious about something. But yeah, if I'm talking to you on the phone, I go outside. If I'm talking to you, Brett Porch. All guys do that? I don't know. It drives me nuts. Todd was talking to cable people on the phone the other day. He walked outside. I'm like, really, is this a secret conversation? I know. I hate it. So you can continue on doing what you're doing. Privacy. And plus, you know, and I. Privacy from SDG&E? Yeah. I know, right? Why? It's SDG&E. I know if I'm on the phone or she's on the phone. If she's on the phone with one of her friends, I do it on purpose. I'm like, who's that? How are they doing? I do that bit. And so I don't want it done to me, so I leave. I won't be in the same room. If someone's trying to watch something or do work, I wouldn't be in the same room like, what's up? Talking to one of my girlfriends. But I'd be within earshot, so it didn't seem so suspicious. I'm so oblivious to it that I don't even know what I do. That's how oblivious to it I am. I don't even know what my MO is. I'm not sure what I do. Another thing that girls cannot change in a man is disagreeing on how much to tip. They say you can't change the way he tips, basically. You need to call him out if he's El Cheapo, man. But will he change it?
I don't know, but you need to keep grinding at him. Or tip on top of it. The things you can change are a lot easier things, of course. He curses too much. His table manners are suspect. He makes jokes about your relationship to your friends. He makes no effort not to control his bodily sounds in public. Do you fart in front of Jamie? Yeah. I don't think I can change that. I fart on Jamie. Write that down. You are a sad, strange little man. You have my pity. I'm sorry. Todd is Woods and I am Jamie in that situation. And if I were to ever do it back, he'd be like, whoa. You may get a dead leg for that. You may get an Indian burn real good, Sienna, if you try that. I'm pregnant and still I'm like, I would never do it. And then the things you don't even want to bother with if he does this, like, this is not the guy for you. He's rude to people he doesn't know. He always has to be right. He's immature for his age. You know, stuff like that. You can't change me from cursing, though. Like, you can't even try. You can try. I'm a cursor. I just am. I have a foul mouth. I hate it.
Struck out yesterday. Boy, you should have seen that. Oh, dear. Yeah. Kid can curse real good. He can catch you. What's the flavor that you like and that you have a preference to? What's it say about you? So if you're the type of person that likes stuff spicy or sweet or tart or whatever, tart. I hate that word. People, tart's like the new in flavor right now. Tart? Like the frozen yogurt. I would like the tart, please. Pinkberry. Tart. So when we get back, we'll tell you what that says about you. What was that promise that you made? Why won't you tell me what she said? What was that promise that you made? Tonight's 8 o'clock album on FM 94.9, The House That Dirt Built by The Heavy. Gonna get to what does your flavor preference say about you? Do you like spicy? Do you like sweet? What do you like? And what does it say about you? I wanted to read this for a friend of mine. His name is Josiah. Good man. Good dude. Yeah.
I met Josiah about three years ago. He wrote me when I was at the other station. And he was in a dismal place when he wrote me. He was addicted to cocaine. And I talked to him and I said, what do you love more than anything? And he said, my wife and my kids. And I said, if you don't stop doing cocaine and do this thing, then you will lose them within six months. and I was wrong about that. It took him three months, and he did. He lost him. Well, it was March 12th of 07 or 08. I can't remember, but it was March 12th, and I met him out in front of North Coast Church. I gave him a Bible, and I said, if you commit yourself to this, we'll meet here again one year from today. Your life will be completely different.
He got him back. He got off coke. He got off drinking. He got off all that stuff. Turned his life around. Met him in front of that building a year later. Both of us with tears in our eyes. With a completely changed life. And he wrote me this today. He wants me to read this to his wife Naomi. And I said you got it. Happy 29th birthday. Today's her birthday. He says happy 29th birthday and happy 8th anniversary. Tomorrow's their anniversary. Naomi you are my everything. And we've been through some very tough times. But with the help of God and great friends, we've made it work. You're so beautiful, and I'm in love with you more than I have ever been in my whole life. I look forward to getting old with you and watching our kids grow up. I look forward to every morning waking up next to you and every afternoon to come home to your awesome smile. I love you so much, babe. You're an awesome mom and a great wife.
It's M1 Josiah. Good dude. So happy for him. So happy for him. Such a good guy. Congratulations, you guys. Absolutely. Happy anniversary. Happy birthday. Really, really cool. Good friend. Good dude. And a heck of a baseball player. Did you know that? No, I didn't. Yeah. I know he's a big USC fan, but that's in my book. He's only got one strike. That's the only strike against him. I'm in on him, the rest of him. All right, so I like spicy. What does that say about me? You're Latino. That means I'm Latino. Yeah, that's it. You're a self-assured adventurer. Really? Yeah, right. So much for that list. So much for the list. It says the people that enjoy spicy are inclined to be impulsive and take risks, but they aren't reckless. They're also very confident, resourceful, and analytical. It's opposite day. That's me. Well, I am analytical. One of nine. Oh, my gosh. Great. All right, I like sweet. Okay. You know that. The sweet lifers are more family oriented. They're very spiritual and very modest and also the most kind and loyal of the flavor group. What are all the choices of flavors? Well, he is loyal. I'm loyal and I'm family guy. Love family and, you know, whatever. Oh, my God. They're savory, sweet, spicy, and tart.
Are you savory? I mean, they're savory or spicy. I don't know. What the hell is savory? I don't know. Like gravy? Yeah, like mashed potatoes. Yeah, savory. Well, the savory people are the conventionalists. They're introverted, self-described homebodies. They have little sense of adventure, but they do enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and camping. Don't like to hang out with their work friends and are generally the last to arrive. They also have a passion for politics and reality TV. No. Don't own a television. I know. Is that on the list? No. But the tart flavors are joyous joiners. I hate tart. I hate tart. I think I'm in on it now. Tart makes your face all scrunched up. I like sour. Yeah, I do like tart. Sometimes. I like sweet. Fat, sweet. I'm in. Well, the tart people are the joyous joiners. They're extroverts who are involved in their community and enjoy entertaining at home. They're the most active on social networking websites and tend to be the happiest and most satisfied of the four flavor groups. Tart faces. I think my wife is tart. I think she likes tart the most. I would either be tart or spicy, but I don't know if I apply to any of these. Is that it? Oh, boy. Yeah, that's it. That's weird.
Especially now that he has a cold and his voice is like, hey. She is spicy. This is so is. They're saying that 2010 is on track to be the hottest year on record. It's up to here. Yeah, the National Climatic Data Center. Just said that last month was the second warmest July on record, and 2010 is on track to be the hottest year. The average temperature worldwide in July was 61.6 degrees Fahrenheit. Yeah, that's how much it's been on average here this summer. There was frost outside this morning, I swear. Seriously, I have a giant sweater on. I swear. I walked out this morning, I go... It's August. It's cold this weekend. It's August. The water this weekend was... Freezing. Freezing. Have you seen the green slime? Yeah, of course. I saw it yesterday. In the water, algae. Jay, the first time you and I surfed was March, right? Right. And it was butt cold in March. It was as cold this weekend. It felt like to me. I had the same winter suit on and everything. Well, the air is colder probably. Well, the water dropped way. It was super low temperatures again. I was on my surfboard. I was like. One of the things that we've talked about is will we eventually get the summer here? Will it come late? I don't think so.
I don't think so. It's going to turn into fall when it turns into fall. I live in Portland. I work at the North Pole. Freezing in here, freezing outside. Went to play ball yesterday and got to the field in El Cajon. It's supposed to be super hot over there. Got to the field at 8.30, and I had to get my FM 94.9 jacket and wear it out for warm-ups. No way. Because it was that cold. I warmed up in it. That is so weird. That is weird. We won, by the way. San Diego Brewers in the playoffs, I think. Well done. Thank you. Sheryl Crow has a writer, you know, because a lot of these big, you know, recording stars have a writer. That's the list of things that they want backstage for them. Yes. And what is one of the things that she wants? Well, there's a few things that she wants, all of which are extremely green. Of course. She wants traditional light bulbs swapped out for compact fluorescent bulbs in... All offices, dressing rooms, and common areas. What a beating. What a beating that would be. It's like, really, I need to put them in my office even though she's not going to be in here? Yes, you do. It's one thing to go on the internet and order you some beer from BevMo. Yeah. What a beat. Here you go. How about this? Eco-friendly cleaning and bathroom products and post-consumer recycled toilet paper and paper towels. Oh, my gosh. Well, didn't she have cancer?
Am I right about that? Yeah. So maybe she doesn't want to stay. She wants to stay away from the stuff that possibly caused it. She wants an assortment. Maybe she's green. Yeah. She wants an assortment of biodegradable non-petroleum cups. Yep. And 24. I would take those at this point. Yeah. We don't have cups in this building. Oh, yeah. And 24 disposable napkins made of 100% recycled fiber. 24? Yes. 24 napkins? Yes. There's only 22. We're not playing. She also wants a wide variety of drinks and snacks, including organic coconut water and two bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon. Nice. I'm on board with all that. Cabernet Sauvignon. What? Cabernet Sauvignon. Sauvignon. Cheryl's favorite is Stag Leap Artemis, whatever that is. Whose isn't? Two good quality dark organic chocolate bars are described as, in all capitals, very important. Wow. Hillary walked in and I'm sure agrees with the entire list. Would you have anything really weird on your writer list, Hillary? Just to do it. You know there's some awesome ones out there? The two best writers, and you can find them on the Smoking Gun, are the Foo Fighters and Steve Martin. Foo Fighters just had beer, right? No, no, no. It is hilarious. You've got to read it. You can find them. When they came to San Jose, that was a big deal.
They gave us a writer, and all that was on it was Coors Original. That's genius. They must have a few different ones or something. Because there's one where they get into detail about bacon and how bacon is God's currency. I mean, they're really good. They're just backstage feasting on bacon in Coors Original. I see Steve Martin's. And it says under buffet, the buffet section, one platter of cold cuts, ham, turkey, roast beef, six packs of canned beverage. For Steve to compare his abs to. Twelve coconuts hollowed out and split in two for the musician's bras. Oh, my gosh. One whole roasted chicken for Steve to use as a dancing puppet. Oh, my gosh. One packet Lipitor. Yeah, cholesterol medicine. Oh, in gel cap or tablet form. Tray of iceberg salad. Maybe get your own prescriptions, pal.
Is it Lipitor for your cholesterol? Important note, iceberg must come from Scandinavia, Canadian, or Russian Arctic. Artists do not like taste of Antarctic icebergs. Who does? I'm not an iceberg lettuce, dude. I am. I like it. I like it. This is delicious. That's funny. Star Wars is finally coming to Blu-ray, which is great. Mike, you just probably made people crash if that was the first time they've heard this. Yeah, yeah, well. The deal is that you can get it on DVD, but it looks like an old VHS tape when you play Star Wars. What is Blu-ray? Blu-ray is high definition. It's fancy. High definition. It's nice. That's all it is. I need to get one. Yes, well, over the weekend, 20th Century Fox announced... That's something which is like, ever since Blu-ray was a possibility, people are like, Star Wars, Star Wars, Star Wars. Finally, they're announcing that it's coming out on Blu-ray and people are going nuts for it. Why don't they just call it High Definition? Because it's a brand. There used to be, it was called, I think it was just called High Def because I've got a bunch of them that are useless. They used to have two brands of High Def video. And I have it and they don't make them anymore. So I don't know why I have it.
Got to get rid of a bunch of them. Yeah. 570-1949. Hillary, what do you got coming up? What are you going to be playing? So much good stuff. I grabbed some Black Sabbath for a Monday morning. Nice. And the Postal Service and Mumford & Sons and a new song from The Temper Trap. There you go. There you go. You got some new stuff. All right. We got to go. Lovely and talented Hillary's up next, and we will see you tomorrow morning at 6 o'clock, and we'll do this again. Mikey Show's out. Late.
