What's up? Mikey Show is in the studio and ready to go. And very glad to be here. And we would love to hear from you, M1 Nation. You can do that by dialing us up. 570-1949 is the number. And if you want to, you can also text us, 949mikey at gmail.com. There are five of us here on the show. It's myself. I'm Mikey. I'm the host. Woods is our sports guy, and he is 36. And L.O.B. is our assistant producer, and she is... Oh, wow, I thought I shut you off. Stop. L.O.B. is our assistant producer and comedian and voice person extraordinaire. She is 30. And Jay is our producer. He's 49 years of age. No, I'm not.
48. No, thank you. 48. That's right. I'm not going to give you that extra year if it doesn't have to be there. And our phone screener is Chris. That's cross. Word of the day, thunder. When you hear me say thunder between now and 10 o'clock and you're calling nine, you will get a pair of resort hopper tickets to Legoland. California. So you'll be able to go to Legoland and you'll be able to go to their big aquarium, which is really cool. And kids will love it, man. So there you go. Oh, and don't forget 830. We're going to do the old man that does acting. Jay is the old man that does acting. And we will randomly draw what... Oh, no, we won't. We have a prepared script for him. I prepared it yesterday. Yes. And it is a beaut. Of course it is. It is a beaut. I can't wait. So the big news over the weekend was the stage collapse for the band Sugar Land. They were going to be playing at the Indiana State Fair. And Sarah Barry Ellis, I don't know how to say her name. Sarah Barry Ellis. She sings that song.
I never wanted to hurt you. I don't know. I'm making up the words. Isolate that. I'm not going to write you a love song. I'm not going to write you a love song. Or I never meant to hurt you. I've never heard that in my whole life. You have. I promise you. I don't know what that song is either. But anyway, so it was in between her performance and the performance of Sugar Land. And there's these terrible winds. I mean, the winds are, they're saying up to 60 miles an hour. Yep. I mean, just crazy. 60 to 70 miles an hour winds. Did you see the footage? Yeah. Holy cow. Now, check this out, Woodsy. So, I'm seeing footage like that night. Okay? Because the news breaks and all of a sudden these YouTube videos start hitting of people that had their cameras out, right?
But by the next day, they were coming in as high definition. See, because that was the strangest sneeze I've ever heard. I was trying to hold it in. A little squeaker. Yep. But as time went by, you were starting to get better and better footage. Yep. You know, from people's cameras. Anyway, here's what it sounded like. Oh, Mike, Mike. That was cursing. Holy ass, holy ass, holy ass. Really? Yeah. I was reading, you know, what I'm about to tell you. And so I didn't hear that. Dang it. That's not supposed to have cursing in it. Nope. Terrifying. Pandemonium. Yeah. Total pandemonium. And I guess they had just come on, like the announcer had just come on and said, hey, you know, in the event of. But there were people there that said that the rain hadn't even started falling when, you know, basically this thing became a big giant sail.
You know, because it's like got this top that just the wind got underneath it and picked it right up. And then when it stopped, it just came crashing back down. All of these extremely heavy, you know, trusts and stuff like that, they came falling down. Now, the governor of Indiana, he is saying that this was a fluke, you know, and that there wasn't anything that could have been done to prevent it. Four people killed. or excuse me, five people were killed. Four of them were killed because they got hit by the scaffolding that holds the lights and stuff. And the stage equipment and all that stuff. And then a fifth person apparently died overnight. 45 people were taken to hospitals. There are probably more people that actually went to the hospital. They just did it on their own. But at least 45 people were taken there by ambulance and stuff. But just a... And the band Sugarland tweeted immediately, hey, we're okay. We're just trying to get through this, blah, blah, blah. They hadn't gone on stage yet, so they were fine. But just a gnarly video, man. Yeah, if you haven't seen the video, you've never seen anything like this. Yeah, you've got to see it. It's insane. You can't believe your eyes. No, you can't believe that's happening. And then when you see it fall on people, they're like, oh, my gosh. Yeah. I was amazed that there weren't more. I know, right?
Wiped out. Way more people didn't die. Woodsy, what's the latest with our San Diego Chargers? Well, you know, we're on the countdown. Every week it's going to be, hey, we're counting down six days until the next game because everybody got a little taste last week. They did lose the Seahawks, but it's okay. You know why? We've got another game coming up. Yeah, it's preseason. We're working on the kinks. Sunday, August 21st against the Dallas Cowboys in Dallas. So they get to play in that. Crazy, crazy stadium. Be on about 5 o'clock here on Sunday. So you'll be able to catch an hour of it, my friend. I remember seasons growing up as a 49er fan where the 49ers wouldn't win a game in a preseason. And they go on to win a Super Bowl. Yeah, exactly. And that was kind of the deal. If you had a great preseason, you're like, oh, boy, we're dead. Also, over the weekend, they did re-sign veteran linebacker Stephen Cooper. He's good. Yeah, he is. But they really wanted to get him to help mentor the young guys that they got, Donald Butler and Jonas Mouton. So he's not going to start. He's not going to start anymore. But he's going to be there as a reserve and as a backup and a mentor. He's not going to start? Nope.
He's a hard hitter. Maybe they think Takeo Spikes is the man. Could be. Yeah, I read the press release on Stephen Cooper. And A.J. Smith wanted to make sure that he let everybody know that, yeah, Stephen went out there and tested the market. He's back. Phone really didn't ring, so he's just going to come on back here. Yeah, you know, Stephen, he wanted to go see if the grass was really greening. It's just nobody wanted to mow the lawn. It wasn't. At all. So he's back. He's going to get what we give him. Yeah, maybe if Stephen is reading this, he can see that maybe you just take the offer that we put out there for you. We know best. We know what we're doing. All right. How about that Cardiff kook? How about that guy? Okay, the Cardiff kook.
For those of you that don't know, most people know about the Cardiff Cook, but let's say you're from San Diego, you don't know who the Cardiff Cook is. Cardiff Cook is not a real person. He is, in fact, a bronze little boy very effeminately riding a surfboard in Cardiff, right there at the beach, you know. And there is a lot of... controversy about the Cardiff Cook because some people think that it's ridiculous looking. I think I'd fall into that category. I mean, what is that boy like of all the poses for this little boy to be in on this surfboard? Why is it such a hello? I mean, it's it's truly so many options. Yeah. But if you had to say, what do you think that kid is saying on that surfboard? I would definitely go with. Hello. You silly sausage. That's what his friend was saying to him from the water. There you go. Absolutely. Well, anyway, here's become the bit. The bit is that he gets dressed up. The one time they put him inside the mouth. In fact, when was the Jaws thing? Earlier in the year? Yes.
Like three months ago, probably. Oh, my gosh. It was probably 2010. Was it? Yeah. Seems like just yesterday. Apparently. That made the Wall Street Journal cover. Oh, yeah, man. That was on CNN. They put the Cardiff Coug inside a giant papier-mâchéed Jaws. Well, let me tell you something. Of all of the various pranks that have been pulled on the Cardiff Coug, none. I mean, there's this, what happened this weekend, and then everything else. I mean, this will stand, I believe, as the most elaborate forever. How can they outdo this? One of the people that saw it probably the earliest was L.O.B. because she was out early, saw it. Happened Saturday. So everybody that was waking up on Saturday, they were going to get to see it. L.O.B. was one of them.
What were you doing, driving by? Driving back, yeah, from breakfast. And there was already a crowd around it. And I wanted to U-turn the car, but that's what everyone was doing. So I was like, I'll just ride my bike back later. And you did. Yes. And she texted us, all of us here on the show, she texted us when she first drove by and said, wait till you guys see what the Cardiff Cook is. And we all texted her back and said, what is it? She said, I'm going to go by there in just a little bit of my bike and I'll text you. It is a pterodactyl, but not just a pterodactyl. It is a pterodactyl with a very elaborate backdrop of prehistoric times. It's insane. Oh, awesome. It's incredible. I mean, just incredible. And now here's the question. Is it okay to do this? Obviously, it took them hours to put that up and nobody stopped them. So, obviously, we've all come to be okay with it. Yeah. I guess it's just all right. It's just their bid. Yeah. The city cares. Yeah. I mean, there had to have been cops that drove by and were like, have fun. There's those guys again with their scaffolds and their ladders. I mean, I don't have a problem with it. No. I don't have a problem with it. It's not anything dirty. No.
You know, if it was something that was, you know. Don't give Jay any ideas, Mike. Wait a minute. Don't give him any ideas. By the way, first time that happens, probably going to be the end of it. Oh, yeah. I always wonder if, because people dress up the kook almost every day, not like this, obviously, but if two people ever get there at the same time and they're like, oh. Oh, hey. What do you want to do? I was going to do the Tinkerbell bit. Rochambeau. Yeah, and somebody else is like, oh, that's great because I was going to do an old wise fisherman. Well, shoot. Let's combine them. So a gay Tinkerbell old wise fisherman. Okay. Cool, cool. I could work with that. I tell you what, why don't you take the house and, you know, because I think I got here. Why don't you take it to the house because I'm more elaborate. Well, true, but I did get here a good 60 seconds before you're lazy. How many times have you done this? This would be my first. Okay, well, I'm kind of a legend in Cardiff. This is my seventh time doing the kook, so maybe you get. Well, so now you're pulling the seniority thing on me. Are you from Cardiff? Not technically, but... Oh, that'd be a big... Hey, listen. Hey, listen.
You look like you're German. I mean, you're not technically originally from here either. I mean, your ancestors. I'm not even from California. I just wanted to see what you had to say. Look, I'd have half this salty sailor's beard done right by now. Old salt. So anyway, yeah, we'll see what happens. I mean, I don't have a problem with it. I think we know who did it. I mean, personally, no. Yeah. As in the person's been in my home. Yes. Yes. And I like the guy. But yeah, I think we know who he is. We're going to try and get him or her on the phone later. Yes. I think we can say him. Man, you were really wanting to leave it ambiguous out there. Even though it's in the article. L.O.B. just does it. Lest anybody think a woman is not capable of doing such a cool prank.
But this is the prank of all pranks. It's a pterodactyl, and you can see it everywhere. The shark was July of last year. Yes. A full year ago. A full year ago. That's three months ago. I remember it was a day much like today. It was a while ago. It had to at least been 90 days. 90 days ago. It's a long time when you're a little older. You know what I mean? To me, that's like a lifetime. Yeah. I don't have many days left, so. That's a true statement. Cherish each and every one. Wow. Jay really knows how to bring the room down. Be around a lot longer than you guys, but that's probably true as well. I don't eat as much as you do. And what I eat is actually healthy. It's good for you. Yep. My poop would turn to powder. Unlike y'all's. Much like my dogs. Yeah. But it's just full of preservatives and y'all's will probably be here stinking the place up eons and eons from now. Thousands of years from now, somebody will go, ooh, what's that? Probably be a broken down sewage tank. From Mac's house. Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Big at the box office for the second week in a row. Second week. In its second week made 27 and a half mil in the second week. That's a lot of dough. I actually, I would like to see it. I like that kind of stuff. Woods does not. How come, Woodsy, why can't you lose yourself in this stuff? Talking Apes. What's the Planet of the Apes? You know, it's the old franchise. Do they talk?
Do they talk in the new one? I don't know if they do. I don't think they talk in the new one. I think they just rise up. There you go. But it doesn't matter. Yeah, yeah, yeah. A whole planet full of apes, right? That's the premise? Well, it's Earth. It's Earth. It's taken over by apes. Yes. Yeah. So that's enough. Enough said. Enough said on that one. Okay. Probably don't need to. Any kind of movie like that. Yeah. Is there any exception? I mean, when I was seven, yeah. There was a lot. Ghostbusters. Yeah. Now? Well, no. Oh. Then. I mean, I'd watch it again because I liked it when I was a kid. Like Back to the Future. That couldn't really happen, but it was a good movie when I was a little kid. Now, a lot of these films, though, they're geared towards adults. Oh, I know. But you're still out. Yes. See, I draw the line at animation. A lot of people don't even do that, though. My line is drawn there as well. Yeah, yours is drawn way before the animation. I don't do animation either. I don't watch cartoons. Woods likes westerns. He likes...
Drama. Documentary. But Footloose could happen. That's reality. Well, it is. It's a drama. Is it reality? Isn't it? It did happen. What in that movie couldn't happen? Him coming into town, he's just going to dance his way into everybody's heart. So nobody's ever moved towns. Yeah, they've moved towns, but they didn't dance their way into it. Just a tough guy dancing. He does have a point. Listen, when's the last time somebody got mad? And dance. Let's just dance. Timberlake and Britney Spears had a dance-off. That's a true story. Well, a dance-off is one thing. Well, that's what they do. He's angry dancing. But my question is, when is the last time that somebody got so angry? I don't know. But could they? That they drove in to an empty warehouse. But could they? Through a beer bottle. Oh. And started. Doing gymnastics. You mean since we reenacted it? With the scaffolding. Yeah. You mean since we reenacted it? We did reenact it. So that technically could happen. Let's just angry dance. Yeah. I'm in. Let's go. You know, I'm all the way in. I think he got you on that one. He didn't get me. Oh, you're gotten. No, I don't think so. No, it could happen. It could happen. Men do know how to dance. Yeah, they do, but do they angry dance?
Yes, but men don't know how to jump on to a piece of scaffolding and do a triple half pike off of it that even an East German judge would give them a 10 on. That's right. They absolutely do. That's the wrong song, by the way. What you're looking for is heaven help, is what you're looking for. By who? Kenny Loggins. My goodness. Woods even knows the song being played. Don't mess with me. Heaven Help. Oh, my. By, well, there's a lot of choices here on U-Tunes. U-Tunes. U-Tunes. That's a new one. That old favorite. No, I don't know. We'll have to find it later. No, but see, that is a reality thing. That could happen. A Planet of the Apes. Come on. Not so much. Not so much. And then this, have you seen the preview? Okay, so what came in number two? The Help. This movie, The Help, made 25 mil. Have you guys seen the previews for The Help? Nope. Read good things, though. Oh, man. The trailer, you couldn't keep me further away from the look of the movie. Now, it's about, like, civil rights and stuff like that, which is all good.
But the look of the movie is that where they take a real story and then they just make it so fantastically Hollywood that it seems so, oh boy, really? Like, did it really go down like that? Right. So over the top feel good BS. It's a period piece, is it not? It's about the 60s. But anyway, and then Final Destination 5. I've never seen any of those Final Destination movies, but they look fun. The first one was pretty good. It came in third place. That's the reason they keep making them, by the way. They still make some dough. They probably don't cost a lot to make, and they make a little bit of dough. 570-1949 is our phone number. What are we missing? Did I miss anything? Call us if we did. 570-1949. If I missed a big story that you feel like, how are you not talking about this? Cardiff Cook was the biggest deal, and so was the stage collapsing. Those are the two biggest things I can think of. Rick Perry said that he's going to run for president. He's the governor of Texas. Or is he a former governor? Former. Former governor? Yes, sir.
What's your thoughts on that dude, Woods? You're from Texas. You know, I was never a giant Rick Perry fan, but he did something really nice for my family and signed something for my late father-in-law who passed away. My wife got to meet him and he signed this bill for him and stuff, which was pretty cool. So I thought that was a class move. My father-in-law was a very popular head football coach in Texas. He was? Yeah, very big. For college? For high school. High school. Yeah, which is like college. You're a legend of football. So he signed something for him. So Jamie got to meet him and hang out with him. Said he was a really nice guy. So maybe she could say I met a future president. We have his autograph. So feast on that. Joy Behar got married. She's been dating this guy. It's been her boyfriend for 29 years. When's that baby do? Poor bastard. L.O.V. What? What did L.O.V.? She goes, L.O.V. Oh, please stop it. You think you could stick it out for 29 years, L.O.V.? No, could not. I don't understand what the deal, what made her change her mind? She's, you know, bride-to-be. I wonder if she'll have a bachelorette party. I wonder if she's going to enjoy her first time with him. Oh, wait, wait, wait. They already did this. They're hitched. Yeah, they're hitched. Oh, right, right. Right.
After she got married, she tweeted, this is not a joke, she tweeted, gone fishing. Don't even know what that means. Maybe you have to be 104 to get that. It means they're doing it. Really? They're in their bedroom, gone fishing. That's gross. Gosh. What? I don't know what that means. That was a colloquialism. Yeah, sign me up for that. Most commonly used in the early 1920s. Back in the Depression. They said gone fishing. It means don't bother knocking. The trailer's rocking. Huh. When we come back, you'll hear Dennis Rodman cry. Why did he cry? You'll hear why. It's audio. You'll hear it next. Oh, my God. It's better than I thought. Let your voice be heard on The Mikey Show now. Call 570-1949 or shoot him a text. 949mikey at gmail.com. Now, this is what it sprang from. We thought it would be funny. Zella B., she claimed to know more about football than some random person. I can't remember who it was, but anyway, it was a random person. And we said, well, that's big talk, girl. That's a bold statement. That's a bold statement. And so, anyway, there's a girl on ESPN that she was making a comment about. And I understand why she made the comment. The reason was because this girl that was on ESPN was just, she appeared to be just a pretty face. Yes. She was a very pretty face. Well, that got us to talking. We thought, I wonder who knows more about football. Jay or L.O.B. And L.O.B., I don't understand why he played that. I don't either. About himself, I think. You're playing that about yourself. Yeah. Okay. Because Jay didn't know anything about football.
Don't care to know anything about football. Now, I don't know that that necessarily makes him a sally or anything just because he doesn't know anything about football. But what the inference was, was that really got to L.O.B. because she's like, how dare you? How dare you? He doesn't know anything. I know something. Therefore, how could you even bring up the question? And so you're going to call right now, 570-1949, and you're going to pick L.O.B. or J. Who will know more in a showdown? I will say I know a little bit about a tight end. Our old creepy Uncle Jay. Right there, everybody. I do know how to punt. Put it in your end zone. Hey. Just shoulder pads. I'd like to give you a tackling drill. Gross. All right, so why was Dennis Rodman crying? Because they inducted him into the Basketball Hall of Fame. That's right. That's why. I want to get you to bulk of my playing days. It wasn't Dennis Rodman. We all sound different when we get emotional. Wow. We all sound very different when we get emotional. Oh, and then that's the nervous reaction.
It's a nervous reaction we have as an audience. We want to support him. That's how we do it. It wasn't me. I didn't play the game for the money. I didn't play the game to be famous. Play the game for the girls. Yes. What you see here is more just an illusion that I love to just be. An individual that's very colorful. Well, you were. Yeah. Probably the most colorful player in NBA history. Absolutely. Beyond a shadow of a doubt. It's been very good to me. You know, I could have been anywhere in the world. I could have been dead. I could have been a drug dealer. I could have been homeless. I was homeless. And a lot of you guys here that's been here, a lot of you guys are here that's in the Hall of Fame.
You know what I'm talking about? Living in the projects and trying to get out the projects. And I did that. But it took a lot of hard work and a lot of bumps along the road. I'm going to make an observation. This is not, this observation is not in any way intended to be mean. Simply an observation. As I was listening to his voice, it sounded like it's the voice that creates what I call. Yeah. Now, I don't know how to spell that. I don't know how to spell it. I just know how to say it. And it's pronounced nyah. And what nyah is, is it's the little white stuff that forms at the corner of the mouth. And the reason that I call it that is because as you talk, it goes nyah, nyah, nyah, nyah, nyah. My wife there, Michelle, has put up with a lot of crap for me. Oh, boy. I'm being honest. It's been a lot of crap for me. Do you hear the nyah? Yep.
You know, I haven't been a great father. I haven't been a great husband. No, what he's saying is really cool. Honestly, honestly. Being honest. You know, but she's tolerated everything for me for 11 years. And she's raised two beautiful kids. I mean, three beautiful kids right there. I forget. I forget sometimes. Sorry about that. Feels real good. Sorry, Sarah. Yeah, Sarah, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. And I've been very much. appreciative of what she's done. No problem, Dad. No problem. It's cool, man. I'm used to it, actually. It's actually been happening now for 22 years. Yep. Middle child. Yep. Not the first time or probably the last, Dad. Thanks, Pop. That that'll happen. Is that Ryan talking? That's a reference to my son, Ryan. Oh, gosh. I'm nervous. It's okay, because now I'll be able to get Jay back because we're going to play. Yes. Mikey Morning quarterback. M1 Rick from Escondido. Who would you like to select? I would take Jay, please. How insulting to L.O.B. L.O.B. Just because you're a woman. That's it. M1 Rebecca from Kearney Mesa. You've got the back of a woman here, don't you? Yes, I do. There you go. Yeah, girl power and whatnot. Hang on a line. I can't wait for these answers. I cannot wait for these answers. I wish I cheated and looked stuff up. Oh, you know Jay did. Me too.
Did you guys? No, I didn't cheat. All right. I wish I did. I have in my possession eight questions. Now, if, Woods, can you keep score? Yep. If they tie, which I think is impossible, but if they do tie, I've got tie breakers. Okay. Are you the official judge, Mike? Yes. Okay. And I'll be fair. Okay. I'll be fair. Can we say ladies first? Sure. Yeah. Sure. Would you like her to go first? She can go first. Don't overthink it, L.O.B. I'm going to tell you that right now. Don't overthink it because when I asked these questions to Rebecca as a test, she was like, oh, I would have said that. I thought it. Objection. Leading the witness. L.O.B., what are the three most common options on fourth down? To pass, to run, or to kick off.
I would say that those are not the most common options on fourth down. Well, the most common options are to go for it or to punt. Punt, not kick off. Oh, easy in there. Or to kick a field goal. Those are the most common. On fourth down, you're going to either kick a field goal, you're going to punt it away, or you're going to go for it. Okay, okay. All right. What are you looking at in there, Jay? Oh, really, Jay? You know you're next. You know you're next. All right, Jay? Yes. What is play action? Play action is just what it says. It sounds like it's when the ball is in motion. It is when the ball is in motion. Yes. That is incorrect, Jay. Felt good, though. Play action is when the quarterback, he pretends to give it to the running back. Like it's going to be a running play. He goes, hey, look at you. I'm going to give it to you. Then he goes, no, I'm not really. I'm going to throw it instead.
That's called play action. Now, my dad has a very interesting take on play action because probably one of the best at play action is Peyton Manning. Probably better than anybody at play action. Really selling that thing and making it look like he's handed the ball to the running back, fooling the defense, and he goes and throws the ball. My dad says, you know what? The only thing I don't like about Peyton Manning is he's terrible at play action. And I always just go, mm-hmm. But in my head, I'm thinking, Daddy, maybe the best at it than anybody that's ever played the game. He's really good. L.O.B.? Yes. What's another name for a halfback? Midback? Not a midback. Can I answer? Can we let them steal if they know it? I knew play action. No. No. No, you can't steal. Because we do a similar game with you and Jay. There's no stealing. That's true. I'll hear what you were going to say. I was thinking maybe a quarterback? No, that would be...
I'm speechless. No, no. What is it? A running back. Running back. Oh, I was going to say that. Darn it. A running back, so. Well, at least we're tied. Yeah. All right, Jay. Yeah. Another term commonly used to describe a team's punt, kickoff, and field goal units is? Special teams. Wow! Yes, that's right. I'm up by one. Jay's at zero. Actually, L.O.B.'s at negative two. You don't have to give us negative. No. Okay, fine. Feast. Oh, wow. All right, so Jay has one. Jay's got one. I've known both of Jay's. That's not fair. Oh, well, convenient. Yes, very. All right, L.O.B. The Steel Curtain was a nickname given to what football team? The Pittsburgh Steelers. That a kid. Look at this. We are tied. Here we go. We are tied. Defense wins championships. There you go, LLB. Jay? Yes. Who was famous for coining the phrase, just win, baby? That sounds familiar to Jay. Sounds familiar to Jay, maybe. He's saying, somewhere in my long life, I've heard that. Who said it? Who was the person that said,
Just win, baby. No idea. You don't know? No idea. It was Al Davis. He was very famous for saying... Al Roker? No, Al. I was going to say Al Davis. He was very famous for saying, just win, baby. He's said it now for about 50 years. Now he says... Just win, baby. Just win, baby. Ella B? Yes. What is it, draw play? Oh, I'm glad you asked. Oh, wow, wow, wow, wow. Oh, wow, wow, wow. It means that it's like an audible, like a quarterback calls it at the last second in the huddle. Damn it! No, that's not right. It's the exact opposite of play action. It's the exact opposite. So what it is, it's when the quarterback pretends he's going to throw the ball, but instead hands it to the running back. Oh, my. That's totally what I meant. All right.
They are tied. They're tied one apiece. They're tied at one apiece. All right, Jay. Dandy Don, Frank Gifford, and Howard Cosell comprise the famous team of what TV show? ESPN Sports. That old TV show. No, that's actually a... Channel. Network, yeah. L.O.B. is enjoying that. Like, when I say enjoy, there are levels of enjoyment, okay? She's at the highest level of enjoyment that there can be. ESPN Sports. He looks at you and goes, ESPN Sports? Oh, I got that one for sure. It was actually Monday Night Football. It's like saying NBC Network. Yes, it is. It's like saying NBC News. That TV show, NBC News. Well, we, as it turns out, are going to have to go to the tiebreaker questions.
Jay won, L-O-B won. Yes. All right, L-O-B. Thank you for that. What were the last two football teams to join the NFL? The Tennessee Titans and the Carolina Panthers. Very close, very close. Half right. It was the Carolina Panthers and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Wow. Same colors. So close. Tennessee moved from Houston. Yes, they did. The Oilers. The Earlers. Jay? Sure. Don't worry, you're still tied. For the win, though, right? This is it right here. What famous quarterback was known as Broadway Joe? Joe... Joe... Montagna? Isolate, isolate, isolate, isolate, isolate, isolate. That's the greatest isolation, maybe, that has ever happened with Jay. Okay, Mike. Can I steal it? Excuse me, excuse me. It's Joe Montana. Right. But that's not the answer. It's not the answer. I would still be wrong. It's Joe Montana. He says, Joe Montana? Question mark. He had a tilde over the end. Mike. Can I steal that? It's 6.50 a.m. Can we play this for another three hours? I could. I could. Like, I want to keep going off the air. I want to keep going off the air. I do too.
Now, sometimes I call this wrong. Sometimes I think you guys are loving something we're not loving. So you've got to tell us on Facebook. Go to Facebook.com slash Mikey Show. Because, man, if I'm wrong about this, I don't want to be. Because I'm having fun. I'm enjoying it. The answers are the best part. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. For sure. It's ESPN Sports. So, Woodsy, you have to tell me. It's not over, right? No, it's 1-1. 1-1. If you don't have more, I can answer that question. I have more. He's got more. But go ahead and answer it. Joe Namath. That was right. That would have been right. Dang it. That would have been right. I just want to kiss you. I just want to kiss you. L-O-B? Yes. What do you call a long pass with little to no time left on the clock? Hail Mary! Bam! That is correct. That's it. That's the game. That's the game. I didn't get a chance to. She went first, though. Oh, wait. That's right. Isn't that right? If he misses, he loses. If he misses, he loses. If you miss, you lose. All right. Are you ready? Yes. Tom Brady got his big break as the backup for what famous player? Tom Brady got his big break. Peyton Manning.
No. Good guess. Good guess. No idea. Was it? Was it a good guess? It was a good guess, that's for sure. It was as good a guess as any because, you know, that is a famous player. All right. That is a famous player. Rick from Escondido. The answer is Drew Bledsoe. Oh, dang it. He backed up Drew Bledsoe, but yes, that is correct. Rebecca, M1 Rebecca from Kearney Mesa, L.O.B. brought it home for you. There you go. Yeah. I want you to hang on the line. I really hope that listeners dug that because I want to do it again next week. Every Monday. Every Monday of the season, I'd like to be able to play a little bit of... Like trying to be the best at watching sports on TV. That's right. Clearly. Listen. Obviously. Not trying to be the best. Not trying to be the best. It's so gold. Now, I had one. What I did was I tested these out with the wife. And I also tested him out with Rebecca. My wife, I met my wife, Woods. But I also tested him with Rebecca. And the one question that I had here that Woods was unsure of and my wife was unsure of was, what football analyst was fired for saying that black players are better players because they were, quote, bred that way? He got fired from CBS Sports.
for saying that black players were better than white players. And the reason was because they were, quote, bred that way. And do we have a prize we could give away to somebody, Jay, if they call with the correct answer? Yeah, we sure do. We can give them the new Street Fighter 4 3D. Sweet. There you go. 570-1949. Who was that person that said that? It didn't take long. They fired him. right away for saying that. Yeah. For making that comment. You know, Howard Cosell, I believe, said, look at that little monkey run. Didn't he? Wasn't it Howard Cosell? Oh, man. I'd be fired if I were an announcer within a week. Yeah. And he just wouldn't know, you know? You're just talking. You're always talking. You're always talking. Just running your mouth. M1...
Let's see. I'll just take these. Let me just start going down the line because it'll take too long if we're trying to just screen everybody. But let's see. M1 Bruce from San Diego. Who was it? Is it Jimmy the Greek? That is correct, my friend. And I love what... I have to pull the curtain back on Chris. Chris wrote that the person that did it was Get Me to the Greek, which is actually... It's a movie. It's a movie. And Chris heard it too fast and very quickly wrote, get me to the Greek. But in fact, it was Jimmy the Greek. Chris was smoking marijuana cigarettes. Maybe. I don't know. But you did win, Bruce. Hang on the line. Yeah, you know, the black players better because, you know, they're bred that way. That's what he said. Come on. Are you kidding me? Use your head. Are you kidding me? Jimmy, use your head. That was one of those situations where they're like, look, we don't have a choice.
You put us in a place. We don't have a choice. We have to fire you. There's nothing we can do for you. That's right. And now back to The Mikey Show with Mikey. I don't like it when it's cheap. Lauren. I was a bit of a pyro when I was a kid. Woods. I haven't moisturized for days. Dying. And Jay. I'm an awesome beer drinker on the course. On FM 94.9. This is one of the songs that's on your slay list. Well, it was. I'm purging that whole list. You take that off the list, huh? Did not get played this weekend. Oh. Oh. Well, that was more information than we probably did. All I said was the list didn't get played. Yeah, but I think we know where you're going with that. I'm talking about making love. Yeah, I think you were. Definitely think you were. Yeah, what shows are watched by dudes? We're going to tell you. Most watch show by dudes.
Old man that does acting at 8.30. Haven't said the word of the day yet. So, we did a big, giant poll here in California. And they were trying to find out what fish were most concerning in terms of us eating them. And this is what they found out. Bass. Now, we're talking about the ocean. Bass, perch, rockfish. Shark, very contaminated here in San Diego. In fact, heaviest spot for contamination was San Diego Bay. And they sampled 42 different areas in California. And here in San Diego, yeah, they found concerning levels of PCBs. Nobody has a clue what that actually is. We just know it's bad. And methylmercury.
So maybe that's the reason that we watch a lot of people fishing out there and throwing those fish back. They don't want to eat them. But anyway, that was one of the findings that just came out. Also, this is concerning to our family and could be for yours. Families that have a kid with autism, autism spectrum disorders, ASD, they are at a higher risk for their next kids developing ASD. than previously estimated. In fact, in this study of 664 infants that were born into families that already had an affected child, the autism recurrence was 18.7. So you're 18.7% more at risk if you already have a kid with autism, which is higher than they already thought. And so, yeah, it definitely affects us. My wife calls it,
sprinkles what she means by that is that like especially with ryan you know we had both of our kids tested ryan and lute the twins that were came after jake we had them tested and they said they're both fine but what she'll see sprinkles what she calls sprinkles in ryan where she'll see one particular trait and she'll go that is concerning because it's one particular thing that is sort of symptomatic right so we got to keep our eye on ryan and if we need to we got to take him back and get tested if we think something may be up uh but lukey there's no question that dude is as typical as they come they have no idea what causes any of this environmental they just know that it could be genetic or environment and or environmental it's just weird in terms of the autism autism
Or as Jay calls it, autism. It's increasing, too. I mean, more and more people. Oh, for sure. The diagnosis is. It's always been around, then. They're saying it's always been around, but they called it something different. In the 80s, they called it attention deficit disorder. In the 70s, they called it. And they still have something that qualifies as attention deficit disorder. It's just that now they can tell the difference between, oh, this isn't attention deficit disorder. This is actually on the spectrum of autism. And the reason that they call it a spectrum is picture a rainbow. Some kids are real low on that spectrum. Some kids are real high on that spectrum. We're real lucky with Jay because he's high functioning on the spectrum. Hopefully 20 years from now, what it'll look like is you won't be able to tell it all. I don't think people can tell now, but there are things that as his mom and dad, we definitely know where we go. He shouldn't be doing that. Seems like a normal kid to me. Woods, what's going on in sports? Well, sports is brought to us today by our friends at Frank's Red Hot. Frank's Red Hot. So the PGA Championship was this weekend. It was won by a gentleman I had never heard of until...
this weekend. His name is Keegan Bradley. A young, sharp guy won in a playoff with another guy I'd never heard of named Jason Duffner. Now, a lot of notables. This is a major? This is a major. Yeah, the PGA Championship. We haven't even heard of them. Correct. The top three guys, I had never, ever heard their name before. Tiger Woods did not make the cut. He played two days and that was it for him. I said it last week. I wonder when we'll stop. You know, even mentioning this guy who doesn't even make the cut for majors anymore. It's just crazy. But also the San Diego Padres have a new winning streak of one. They beat the Reds 7-3. And the Mets will be in town to take on the Padres now at 7.05 p.m. It's Ari Dickey against Aaron Harang. Beast. I'll bet you're going to skate through this season, Woods, without having to pay off that bet. I'm knocking on wood, Mike. When the season started. I said, how about the Padres got to win four in a row? And people looked at me like I was a monstrous animal, like I should be caged in a cage and fed through a pail of water and food. Right. I said 10 games. You said four. I said four. And people said, Mike, that's an awful thing to do. Why don't you just make woods? Right. Shave a fryer haircut into his head. I said, fine. What about five?
Mike, what's the matter with you? You mean, awful. What are you, Hannibal Lecter? You're diabolical. So finally we said, fine, six games. Well, it may be that these Padres can't put six wins together in a row. And if so, Woods does not have to shave a fryer cut into his hair. He does not. The top shows for guys. Let me guess. Go ahead. Boardwalk Empire. That is incorrect. That's a show on HBO, a drama, and that is not one of them. Debbie Does Dallas. No, these are TV shows. Oh, ESPN Sports. Oh, Espen Sports. Espen. Mike. Yes. So they cannot be on a cable network? They can, but it's got to be a TV show. Mad Men. Mad Men is incorrect. Not one of the top shows for men.
Now, I have the top six. I have the top six shows. And that's not one of them. You guys want to guess more? I'll take more guesses. Breaking Bad. Is not. That's another HBO show, right? No. True Blood. True Blood is a good guest? No. Dexter. Dexter's a great guest. Showtime? No. Rescue Me. Rescue Me is a good show. Is it still in production? Yes, it is. No, the new season just started. Jay is giving you a look. Jay is giving you a look right now. That's the last season. Let's place a bet. Two and a half men. Not on there. Entourage. Nope. Great guess. Not in the top six. Not in the top six most viewed. Now, I'll tell you. Part of the reason for that is because those shows that you guys are mentioning, they are cable shows. However, At least a couple of these. At least three of them, in fact. Swamp People? No. Wipeout? Nope. Here they are. Family Guy. Makes sense. Tosh.0. I love this show. I forgot about that. Pawn Stars. Big player. Jersey Shore. Guys? See, now this is what's funny to me. People like to say...
I would never watch a show like that, please. Shows like that are not familiar. I'm a guy. But then when the data comes out and you actually see what people are putting their eyeballs on, you go, oh. The voice. Whoa. The guy player. The git. Mac Commerce. Now, was there a typo? No. Gay. No. That's what they mean. Yep, that's exactly what they're saying. Yeah, see, most guys. Most guys that probably actually watch these shows would say the same thing. Yeah, does it have in parentheses here that these are queers, Mike? Does it? Because I'd never watch such a show. If the role, I'm a dude. Yeah, right. Because guess what the number one show watched by guys in America is? Don't say it. Filthy men. Stupid. Filthy men are watching American Get.
Yeah, just loving it. You know why? Why? Because their broads make them want it. No, the guys have control over the remote, and you know that. Married guys. That's it. They listen. Single guys still trying to make sex with their girls, so they watch what they're told. Those are the big ones. Listen, that's embarrassing as a man. Yeah. That's really embarrassing. The voice. Matt Commerce will be on The Voice. Are you going to be giving it a hard time then? No, but... I'm not going to be crazy about tuning into it. Neither would Matt if he wasn't on it, I promise you. No, he didn't even have a TV. Speaking of giving a hard time, Woodsy, I'm going to have your back big time on this one. Okay. Weird. Is it? It is. I have the backs of others. In fact, sometimes me and Woods will have the biggest disagreements. Yes, that's true. But on this one, we do not, my friend. All right, let's go there.
Talking about the fridge. Now, the reason that I bring up something that's so particular, because a lot of you people might be saying to yourself, well, I don't, listen, this ain't my fridge. No, but at your work right now, you probably have a community fridge. Many works do. Some places don't. You may be a delivery person. You say, we don't have one. But even if you are a delivery person, I bet you might. Back at the hub. Back at home base or whatever. All right. But we have a fridge that is just for the Mikey show. It's a mini fridge. We actually have two. Two refrigerators. Yes, we do. Yes, we do. One of them was a promotional item for like Sobe Energy drinks. Let's just say Sobe Energy drinks. Sounds good. So that we don't have to argue. But it's a beverage fridge. A little guy. A little fella. And then I got us a bigger fridge. That we use to store our stuff that we need to keep cold. Now, Jay is what I like to call the fridge police. I just like to call him a busybody. That's what I like to call him. Somebody has to do it. A nosy busybody. Now, I predicted that Lauren O'Brien would have Jay's back on this one. As did I. I don't necessarily. Don't. Don't.
I want to hear the whole case presented. You already said somebody has to be. Oh, well, somebody has to stay on top. That thing gets filled up and nobody takes their stuff home. That's not true. It is 100% true. I cleaned the other one out last week. Jay. Myself. Jay complained this morning to Woods because there was too many yogurts. About what time, too, Mike? Five something. That's what I start my week off with. No. Mother hen. This is what I said. Over my shoulder. First off, first off, let's get into details here. All right, let's get into details. The devil's in the details. Okay. This little refrigerator. It's pecking away at him. This little refrigerator right here. You know why this little refrigerator's here? Why is it here, Jay? Because I went to the old office and got it. Okay. It had been abandoned, left behind. Now, what does it have to do with... Well, here it is. It's right behind my little area. And when I come in, I put my stuff in there. And it's small. Oh, so it's yours. No, I'm not claiming. I'm more than willing to share. Aren't you, though? Because you've made the point that you brought it over here. There's the big nasty refrigerator that people bring their slop in and leave it. It is in there forever. It gets mold on it. Nobody ever does anything to it. I cleaned it last week. Well, because you had to, because nothing else would fit inside of it. Last Thursday morning, I cleaned that sucker out.
So now Woods' bid is he'll bring in three or four yogurts at a time. Two. And an apple. The apple had reshaped itself into something. It looked more like a prune. I didn't hear anything about an apple this morning. Yeah, I did. I said there's four yogurts and an apple. Right. I threw the apple away. You're like. And here's how they're put in there. The door's open, thrown in. In a plastic bag. Yeah, I threw them in. And a plastic bag. So it takes over the whole top shelf. And then another one on top of that. And another. There are three big plastic bags with yogurts and apples. So no one else can make use of the refrigerator. Woodsy, I used the right side of one shelf to put apples and yogurts in. That is untrue. He is an old, anal mother hen. If we are going to discuss this, because I know that a lot of people deal with this at their work. If we are going to discuss this, we must agree that we will be honest. We will not exaggerate. Yes. There shall be no exaggerations. Now, if I'm going to properly adjudicate this case, I need to know, Woods, is he exaggerating or is he telling the truth? And we need the truth here. Do I throw them in there?
No. I don't think you do either. I don't throw them in there. I don't think you do either. I think that's silly that you would open the door and throw them in there. Do I delicately place them? Who cares how you put them in there? They're in there. Who cares? You've never done anything delicate in your life. Fair enough. Very true. But is he right about what was in there? There are four yogurts in there, and that's all I saw. Each one in its own plastic bag. No, two in one, two in another. No, that's not true. I guarantee the one yogurt that's been in there is... There's proof. You have it, right? I have the bags right here. Where are they? Let's see. If that's true, that's pretty crazy. And what's the difference? It's my lunch bag. It's what I bring it in. Wait. Why does he give a frog's fat ass what is in that fridge? Because it's tiny. At the end of the day, this guy has been breaking my balls for a week about like... For sure. We all do something, and he goes after me. We got to tape it. We got to tape it. He's like my, it's like coming to work with my mother. He's worse than my wife. L.O.B. used to do it, but she stopped. Yes, I did. Whoa. First of all. Wait, wait, wait, Jay. First of all. He came in. I never shopped at Ralph's once. These were in there. These are mine. These two are mine. This is the apple. So, Jay. You going to eat that? Wait, wait, wait. So, Jay. So, Jay. You got that one wrong. Yeah. Those are mine. These are mine. There were two bags that belonged to Woods. He went scrounging in the garbage looking for proof.
Yeah, and all he found was bags that don't belong to you. Yeah, he went through the garbage. I'll prove it, right? I'll prove it. So he gets so upset about... Take a picture of this fridge. This fridge. This fridge. It's really small. That's what he's upset about because it's his. No, no. I welcome you. I welcome anybody who wants to put something in there. It sounds like you are. You're a regular. Now they're stacked on one side and they'll be there for the rest of our lives. He'll go buy Mario. Will they? Yes. Will they? You never even look out here. You bring new yogurt every time. Well, here's my thing, Woodsy. I will say this. If I'm leaving stuff in the fridge and it starts to smell. It doesn't smell. They're in containers. It's not like it's loose yogurt or homemade yogurt. He's got a point there, Jay. Dude, that is, you know what that's doing? That's being a jerk just to be a jerk. Yes. If it's yogurt in the container, who really cares? Just stack it. It takes up the whole shelf. I can't, I mean, you have seen the size of this refrigerator, right? The whole shelf, no. The whole top shelf is gone. Nobody used Jay's refrigerator anymore. It's like 12 inches by 12 inches. Yeah, and I have to organize your...
I mean, stack it in there. Welcome to it. I did. You did not stack it in there. Now I have to know. L-O-B? There's nothing wrong with Woods keeping his stuff in that fridge, even if it's four yogurts or six. You know what I mean? He's not doing it to be malicious. Right. But it's a tiny fridge you should make as efficient of the space that you can. Agreed. I know that didn't make any sense. Well, and you're right, because I don't use the fridge very often, but if I do... I want to be able to put my junk in there. So that includes leaving him out of the bag. But the difference is I wouldn't say anything because I'm not an anal de-hit. Because you're a slob. No, I wouldn't say anything. Your mom doesn't work here. Question. Doesn't she? Isn't her name J-effing Isbell? Isn't that my mom's name? Isn't that she sitting right in there? Question. Because this is fascinating to me. I want M1's takes on this. 570-1949.
I can see both sides of it. Me too, me too. On one side of it, I go, you don't have to be my mom. You know, I don't want you to be my mom. And on one side of it, I see that. Like, quit handpicking me. Right. I don't need to hear it. On the other side of it, I see, like, all I want as a person that works here is to just be able to put my crap in the fridge. Wait, I just want to put my crap in the fridge. But there's somebody that works here that feels that they could just do whatever they want. No. They didn't stack their yogurt up to your standards. They didn't stack their yogurt at all. What if I can't put my stuff in there because it's choked out? Then move it out of the way. Are you kidding? Oh, so I have to move your stuff. I have to move your stuff. Yeah, you're making me work. Oh. Holy crap. Why don't you take two seconds and do it right? I put it in there, and then I go get it when I need it. 570-1949. I want to know what M1s believe.
is the right thing. I just wouldn't say anything because I got bigger fish to fry than somebody's yogurt. I stopped saying stuff because it was poking the tiger. Yeah, that's what I get to start my week off with is, hey, you gonna stack these yogurts? You ever gonna eat them? I'm like, oh my God. Maybe we'll get Jamie to come in here and clean up after you. Fine. It's ridiculous. I can get where you're coming from. I think I get where both are coming from. I do too, I do. You can't be Switzerland on this one. You can't be on the fence about this. On one hand, I see, on one hand, I see, leave me alone. On the other hand, I see, pick your stuff up. My stuff was picked up. It was placed in the refrigerator. I didn't leave it in his chair. It's in the fridge. So let me ask you this. Let me ask you this. I want to have you listen to this clip. And you can call us, 570-1949. I'm going to have you listen to this clip. And as you listen to the clip, I want you to ask yourself, does it sound bad? Does it sound bad? what you're about to hear. I think it does, but you got to listen to it and tell me for yourself. Overcast skies will greet you in light and variable winds, so still fairly clean. It's all about that tide coming in. Beach breaks, needle waist high, maybe a few pluses on top of that. And looking a bit walled up right now, structured area is better. Top south-facing reef area is showing a little bit of life as well as some of those other man-made structures too. CreateYourDesignOnline.com. I'm telling you, there's Jared, and then there's everybody else. The guy is the greatest when it comes to graphic design, websites, business cards, everything. You're nuts to go anywhere else. Speaking of Jay, Jay is the old man that does acting, and he will be acting at 830. Doesn't know what he's going to do yet. We give him a script, and we just have him go. All right, so... I just had Woods watch this video and I posted the video on our Facebook page. So you can go right now to facebook.com slash Mikey show and watch video for yourself of this guy saying that he was shut. I mean, when you listen to him report on this, he makes it sound like he was just assaulted.
Take a listen. Something very disturbing happened. Michelle Bachman was supposed to show up at 5 o'clock and speak for about 20 minutes, as all the candidates have done. She showed up at about 5.30 and spoke for about three minutes. And then on the way out, we have some of the video, reporters started asking her questions. And I asked her very respectful questions about her performance last night. Where does she think she's going to end up on the straw poll? Two of her staff members, two blonde women that you see there in the video, the one in the white dress, the one in the black dress started elbowing me and pushing me through the crowd. And her husband. By the way, it's two girls, by the way. And there's video of it. So I'm watching it. I'm like, where are the elbows flying, pal? They're in tight quarters. They're walking. It's the same thing you've seen a million times. Cameras in somebody's face. And there's a bunch of people. And these two women elbowed me. This guy's the Sally of the Week. Sally of the Week. Marcus did the same thing. He even pushed me. He's talking about her husband now. Marcus Bachman. He elbowed me into a golf cart where I hit my head and caused people to start spilling stuff. And caused people to start spilling stuff. Oh, holy cow. Careful in there. You got shoved, didn't you? Again, watch the video. It's at facebook.com slash Mikey show. Watch the video for yourself. See if it's as violent as it sounds. Reporter Shannon Travis has been covering her campaign and says he's never seen anything like this before.
He's never been shopping at Nordstrom with women. Maybe he's never been to a Nordstrom, that guy. Maybe he's never been on an airplane. Maybe he's never been on an airplane. You've never been to a Padres game before? Hello? You've never been on an escalator at a mall? Clearly, this was an embarrassing display on their part. I don't know why all of this happened, but it was embarrassing and unfitting. Here we go. This guy will not get out of the way. He's walking right in front of him, too. He's like, he will not get out of the way. It's that bit. Get out. Here we go. Oh, my gosh. Now, L.O.B.'s recap. I said to her, L.O.B., make sure I talk about your recap today. Lauren O'Brien, she's the pretty blonde to my right. She's got glasses. Seems to make me want it. Okay. Thank you very much. I understand, Rampage. This is her recap. It's got multiple layers. It's an onion today. Oh, yes. Multiple layers.
This weekend was the first time in a long time I had zero commitments. I laid really low and kept feeling like, wait, don't I have to be somewhere? She said, I am officially a candidate for LASIK. Winner. That's right. That's right. She said she's going to be getting LASIK surgery either this Friday or next. Wow. Look at me. That's huge. All growns up. Now it's this next part that got my attention. As you know, I'll take the little shots of wheatgrass juice. Yes. Which I call, by the way, I call that my bit. A fake bit. A fake bit because I'm not convinced it's actually doing anything. You still get sick. Yeah. Well, LOB says, also, I had an algae shot this weekend and I think that this will be my new bit in the mornings. It tasted like ocean water.
Algae shot? Algae. Algae shot, my friend. What the hell is that? Just what it sounds like. It is algae skimmed off of a lake in Oregon. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Yeah, that's it. We're done. I am done. What more can I contribute? There's nothing else. What else can I do? I've officially heard everything at this point. I've heard it all. I've heard everything. It's the most hippie move I've ever heard of. Hippies are like, get over yourself. They're disgusting. I, too, was like, come on, really? Were you? Were you? No, I went with my friend to the farmer's market. Weird. And she was like, oh, I got to find these people. Well, I got to get this stuff. And she was calling it by its brand name, which was not algae. So we finally get down. Now, was it next to the Birkenstock, you know, display there at the farmer's market? The patchouli stands. It was in between the patchouli oils and the Birkenstocks. It was next to the raw food exhibit. Oh, my gosh. So she finally tracks this woman down and she buys this bottle. It comes out of a cooler with, like, steam coming off of it. Chances this lady was wearing sandals and one of those long beaded dresses that came down to her ankle. Yeah. Chances that she did not have any.
hair coloring done. Natural, long, natural colored hair. Chances there was no bra in effect from her either. You guys have been pretty honest with her. No bra. Probably used a rock from that freshwater lake as deodorant. It smells like carrots and throw up. No. How much did it cost? It was $32. You paid what? No, no, no. What? Would you just listen? I didn't buy it. I asked one simple question. $32 for 32 ounces. So one ounce shots. So a dollar a shot. Okay. You have to break it up into shots yourself because it's frozen. You have to keep the algae. Nobody else will touch it. Yeah. She paid a dollar of American money. Currency for algae that was skimmed off the top.
Of a lake. I'm going to buy my own bottle. Of course you are. In Oregon. Where else would it be skimmed from? Of course. Where else would it be skimmed from? Listen, I thought it was a bit. She's going on and on about its benefits and how she'll... Yeah, what are the benefits? She said it's very much like a wheatgrass shot. What am I mad about? Because I'm angry. I'm furious. You are. Yeah, what is it? What is it? It's like a detoxifier. It's an immune booster. It's an energy revitalizer. All this stuff. And I'm thinking in my head, same thing. I'm like, is it? Is it? Whatever. So I take the shot. All afternoon, I was bouncing off the walls. I was fluttering about. It's in your head. It's in your head. Yeah. No, I forgot about it because it was like among other things that I did that day. And then I was like, all over the place. She didn't mention she also did four lines of cocaine. No. So I'm going to try it. I'm going to go get the frozen bottle and break me off a piece of algae every morning and just down the hatch. Nicely. It's frozen.
It's frozen. Is it a cube? No, it's a bottle of it. But it is. It's a solid little cube. You have to leave it in water for 15 minutes. Of course you do. Mike, you wouldn't know anything about it. Of course you wouldn't know anything about antioxidants, would you? It's the same plebeian that doesn't know anything about PCBs. Why does it have to be from Oregon? Let me ask. Because if you knew anything, you plebeian, you would know that Oregon... is the number one state in the union for holistic materials. What do you know about holistic materials? Because I've actually been to Sedona and I just read the name off a map. That's in Arizona, though. Yes, it is, but it's the most holistic capital of the world. Oh, for goodness sake. I've been there three times. Of course you have. Have you ever been to Scottsdale? Some good bars there. No, I haven't been to Scotts. The Los Angeles of the desert.
What about Vegas? You like Vegas? No, I've not. Oh, boy. What do you do? You go there to get laid? Is that it? Have you been to the hot springs outside of Vegas? Obviously. Yes, I have. You like the Hoover Dam when you go to Nevada, don't you? I've actually dined under the stars in my lifetime, all right? You know why? Because I'm a plebeian. No, by the way, I don't go to Vegas. To get laid. Don't. I'm married. Don't. You. I used to, but I don't anymore. You wouldn't understand. Yeah. Holistic medicine like Lauren and I. Isn't holistic, in fact, code for fake? Yes. No. I mean. No. Isn't holistic mean in ancient Greek? Fake. No. Not real. Don't hate. Our friend. Lauren O'Brien, our friend, our friend, our friend is going to pay $31 for frozen lake algae from Oregon. When you put it like that, it seems very odd. I have heard it all. Who was that person, by the way?
Just pretend to scrape it into a cup. You think we can sell this in California? For sure. They'll believe anything. Yeah, hippies will buy that crap by the buttload. 100%. They've been in business since 1989. Holy Lord. Do you want to know what it tasted like? You said it tasted like ocean water. It tasted like the ocean water that got pulled into the corner of a boat and then froze it. My mouth just filled up with saliva. You're like, oh, someone didn't clean up right. Let's skim this all into the boat or into a bucket and freeze it. Is it cow math? Yes, it's cow math. No, no, no. That's the name of the lake, I believe. Or cow mecca or something like that. But the company itself is called... Cows sitting around doing arithmetic. Is that it? Cow math. You just watched... Let me guess. Lake Kalmath is probably, you know, they've done tests on Lake Kalmath, and they've discovered that Lake Kalmath is very high in... You're right. At the highest concentration of blue-green algae. It's a crater lake. So you know it's good. Of course. You know, craters are known for their holistic... Parabens. Parabens.
And non-parabens alike. Non-parabens. Yeah, non-parabens. Parabens are bad. Chloroform. Yes, they're known. They're very well known for antioxidants, which no one knows what that means. They just know it sounds, oh, I want antioxidants. I need them. I need them. You've got to have them. I need, I can't have any PCBs. You can't have any oxidants. No oxidants. I can't have oxidants. I'm anti-oxidant. I'm anti-oxidant. I need it. I need my system to be. I want a product that's scraped off of a lake that will make me poop all the oxidants out. And that I no longer have them in my system. I'm inventing something. How is it any different than you taking grass ground up and squeezed for its juice to come out? Well, here's what I was led to believe about that bit. I was led to believe that if you are Tubby McTubberson, like I am, you probably don't eat a lot of salad. You probably don't eat a lot of veggies on a daily basis, which as it turns out is true. I don't. Okay. Now, what I heard was, so if you do this bit where you drink a shot of wheatgrass, you are giving yourself your daily allowance of veggies. You don't have to eat them. You just consume them in one fell swoop. And that's what I thought I was doing. Well, now I've discovered this new product.
That helps me to poop very regularly. And it also gives me all the greens that I need. Cheesecake! Because I like cheesecake. And this will help. He likes it! He likes it! Now, I've actually lost a couple of pounds. I've actually lost a couple of pounds. And it's as a result, I believe, of this green powder I drink every day. Yeah, I do the same bit, the green powder. It's good stuff. I do too. It says the algae. That's pronounced algae. Algae. No, no, no. Jay, it's pronounced algae with an L. Algae. Algae. Yes. Algae. Agi. Agi. It says it's the appetite suppressant, so. Ooh, I'm in. He just pointed at you, Mike. Yeah, he pointed right at me. Something for you. Something you might want to consider, Mike, or meth. But consider something, I beg of you. Something, for God's sake. Will you consider something? Anything. Well, the good thing is it's live, so it needs to be frozen so that it's live. What the hell does that mean? It's not dead. It's alive? It's a living thing? Yeah. Algae. L-O. Hey, it can't hurt, right? Can't it? It's frozen.
But you said it's not cubes. What is it? Frozen, what does it look like when it's frozen? It looks like a vitamin jar. She chips it off? No. No. No, I mean, it's a slushy form. It's not like a hard... Flash frozen, probably. It's slushy form? Yeah. So you gotta wait. You're supposed to soak it in lukewarm water for 15 minutes, and then it gets slushy enough that you can... And then you just take a shot back. I'm proud to say I didn't own any shot glasses in my home. You're proud. I had to put it in a champagne flute. Wow. Very classy. Just sip it back. Your friend, buddy. Algae in a champagne flute. I've heard everything. This is a great weekend. I thought I had. But then Ella B. comes up with something that I'd never heard of before. She now is drinking. Frozen algae from a lake in Oregon. I'm going to start boxing up my turds. You might as well. Might as well. It's natural compost slash lunch meat. Again, it goes back to who was the first? Because there are people that will drink coffee that's been run through a cat. What do you mean, Mike? Oh, I mean this. They take coffee beans in...
Hong Kong, and they have a cat eat the beans. Then when the cat poops the beans out, they dry roast the beans because now they're higher in acidity. And they grind them up and they make a delicacy coffee out of them that costs a lot more than regular coffee. Now, again, I say, who was the PhD in clownery? that was the first to, A, think of it, and B, drink it. Who thought to themselves, though? You know what? This is good, but I know how to make this a little better. The cat ate the coffee beans, and the person was too cheap. Yeah, it was like J. Like a Chinese J, because it's an uncle. I am not a god, a to-ru, is that? Cafe. So, I'm going to Kim. That's your actual name. Kim. Kim, right. Save that. Poo-poo. We have to strain out of the cup of beans. And then went, you know, that's not the bad. That's not the bad. That's not the bad. That's not the bad. That's not the bad.
To the point that I think it's actually good. We should celebrate this. There's probably some hippie. Brown girl. In California. Who will buy this. And think it's good for them. Yeah, sign me up for that. Question. Yes. If I bring you guys in a shot, we'll... Come on! 100%. I'll do it for the radio. You will? Sure, I'll do it for the radio. But you can't spit it out. No, I won't. Or you owe me a dollar. Or some fresh algae. Yeah, because that's the kind of thing that's going to get... People will listen to me and you would do that. Because there's nothing I want to do less than that. Wait till you hear my ratchet. I'm gagging. You'll feel great the rest of the day and then, hey, maybe you'll be on the new algae kick. There you go. We have... A list of the most hated American celebs, guy and girl. So we'll tell you. And you can take a guess at it. Who do you think that is? The most hated American celebs. President Obama does not have a good approval rating right now. His approval rating just sank below 40%, which is a first. Now, this was from a Gallup poll that was posted on Sunday, and it showed that 39% of Americans said that they approve of his performance as president. 54% said they disapprove. By the way, the margin of error is plus or minus 3%. To give you some perspective on that, it took President George W. his second term to get to that. Shocking.
And his didn't drop below 40% until October of 2005, two months after Katrina. So Obama is not doing well, according to most Americans. Woodsy, what's going on in sports? Can you guys think of who it would be for women and for men? Cover them up. Oh, gosh. Snooki. Oh, great, great guess, Woodsy. It is not correct, but that's a good guess.
And is not Snooki. That clown from The Bachelor that everybody hated, Brad. Brad is a good guess. I know who you're talking about. My wife would always complain about him. She hated him. Yeah. Every woman did, I think. Ella B, do you have a guess? Donald Trump? Oh, good guess. Donald Trump's a good guess? Incorrect. This is a top ten. The number one hated female celebrity? Anne Hathaway. No. And I don't want to, I know people are going to argue the fact that this person is a celebrity, but you have to understand. See, wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute. I was about to argue that case, but then I thought to myself, no, I'm going to argue that myself, aren't I? They list Casey Anthony. Not a celebrity. She's famous. At first, she is. Infamous. She is. I was going to argue it. No, I can't argue. You know why? Because a celebrity is somebody that's celebrated. Exactly. But there are celebrities that aren't celebrated. So maybe we've kind of lost the meaning of celebrity. We have. Reality television with court television, we have lost the meaning of celebrity. Celebrity. We've blurred it now into famous. Right. For the dudes, it's Spencer Pratt. Oh, I forgot about that clown. Then Octomom. Again.
Is this someone celebrated? Did she ever have a show? She is famous. The public figure. Public figure. OJ's number four. Still? Still. Hey, man, I rushed for 2,000 yards for the Buffalo Bills. If I could do that, then I can hang in there, man. The top five and most hated. You've been in there for a long time. Man, I've been in there for a long time. But, hey, that's my plan, man, just to keep holding on. It's killing me. Actual audio. Oh, wow. Number five, John Gosselin. Why is he aided? I thought it was the wife that was the beating. He bailed on her and started making it right with young girls. It's true. Babysitter, I think. Number six, Levi Johnston. Oh, come on. Yeah. I'll leave that kid alone. Yeah, what'd he do? What'd he do? He's a clown. He's a clown. So is she. Yeah. We're not talking about her. We're talking about him. He's the bigger clown. They're both clowns. What did she do wrong? Yeah, what did she do wrong? What didn't she do wrong? Give me an example. Okay, so the whole... She says that she was drunk. Like she was drunk and she didn't know she was having sex and all this kind of stuff. Really? Yeah. She knew what she was doing. She knew what she was doing. That's kind of clownish. Oh, because that never happened. Well, that is kind of clownish. This is Sarah Palin's daughter we're talking about. Russell Palin. Levi Johnston's baby daddy.
And the reason that that's clownish is because it's not taking very much accountability. Yeah. But if it's what happened, it's what happened. She says, well, she tries to make it seem like, oh, it wasn't my fault. You know, I was drunk. I'm not going to call it rape, but I'm not also going to say it was consensual. Right. Fake bitch. Which is not, that's not cool. It was her boyfriend. Yeah, they'd been drinking and they slayed. Number seven, Jesse James. Makes sense. Yep. Number eight, Paris Hilton. Still holding on in the top ten. Number nine, Heidi Fleiss. And number ten, Howard Stern. Why? Still? I love to hate him. The guy you love to hate. He hasn't done anything wrong, though, has he, that's put him in that position? No? M1, Christina from San Diego, what was the word of the day? It was thunder. Oh, Mike, loud. Thunder down under. Thunder is correct. Barrett tickets, Park Hopper tickets to Legoland. Hold the line, all right? Nice. Thank you. You are welcome. We also have on the line with us M1 Cyrus from North County. And are you there, Cyrus? Yeah, I'm here. Now, Cyrus, are you the guy that filmed the Cardiff kook getting, you know, pterodactylized this weekend? Hello? And then he was gone. No. No, Cyrus. Oh, no. Oh, Cyrus.
He goes... Call us back, Cyrus. L.O.B., fill us in. He videoed? He is in the article as the videographer, yes. Yeah. And... If you didn't know, the Cardiff kook this weekend was transformed into a prehistoric scene, complete with a pterodactyl landing on the surfer's head. Incredible. And a big, giant backdrop. Of prehistoric times. Talons were hooked onto the surfer's arms. Cool. Because he's got his arms up in a fruity little stance. Yes, he does. So. He does. It's weird. He looks just like me when I catch a wave. It's very odd. All right, we got him back. Hi, Cyrus. Hi there. So you videoed the thing. I did not. I woke up in the morning and there was a hard drive containing the footage on my front doorstep. Got it. Got it. Yeah. I got it. I got what you're saying.
Before you found said footage, what time do you think, if you had to take a guess, because obviously at this point it'd be all guesswork, but if you had to take a guess, what time do you think that Pterodactyl got there? Oh, it's pretty interesting. I have a buddy who heard from another buddy. Who heard from another buddy, right. Right, right, that it happened at about... 3 a.m. And the buddy of mine was setting up a time lapse to take the entire thing coming up. And as he was setting up, two cop cars rolled by in the span of 10 minutes. And I was at about 3 a.m. So he thought that the whole operation would be hosed. And it ended up that when they went down there, I think they spent 45 minutes setting it up between 3.15 and 4 a.m. or 4.30 a.m.
Aren't the cops kind of cool about it? Like, they're not, I mean. You know, I think because those two cop cars came right before and that there's no cop cars in the span of, I think it was over an hour, really. It took, I mean, they must have known and just kind of sat on the hill and watched and had some, you know, coffee and laughed about it, you know? Sure, sure. Because it's not, come on, it's kind of fun. Yeah, it is fun. Minus the kind of, it's fun. It's fun. When it's good. When it's good. When it's not, it's... Well, this isn't just good. It's incredible. It's unbelievable. Those guys did a great job. I mean, if you look at the rails, the actual diorama box fits around each one rung of the rails. I mean... That's rad. Incredible. You got to appreciate that. What is the backdrop made out of, Cyrus? Allegedly. Allegedly. Well, by now, Cyrus could have gone down there and seen it for himself because it's out on display. So what is it made out of? Exactly. Yeah, I did actually go down there after the fact. And it looks like it's made of cardboard and two by fours and painted on top. Yeah, that's awesome. Like a diorama, like a kid's shoebox diorama. That's crazy. Hey, listen, I know you're not in the business of doing this kind of stuff. You're merely you're as much of a fan as any of us are. You're a guy that knows somebody.
Yeah, you're a guy that knows somebody. An admirer. An admirer. But let me ask you, Cyrus, if you had to guess, and again, all speculation, but if you had to guess, how long do you think it would take to prepare something like that? Oh, it took months, I'm sure. Yeah, I'm sure it did. I'm sure it did. I hear from a friend of a friend that it went through a couple machinations. The first one was they tried to build the pterodactyl out of paper mache, and it just ended up being way too heavy. And the logistics and the fact that it could fall on some little kid taking a picture with his mom was too kind of daunting. So they recreated it last minute out of bed sheets that they glued to the wire frame, which made it a lot lighter. I love these guys. I love them. They should be working for NASA. Yes.
It's so cool. And it went from being about 100 pounds or I think 80 pounds to, I think it ended up being like 30, like 20, like an awkward 25. Wow. All I can tell you is that I hope that these guys have kids so that somebody can continue the tradition on. Because I love the way that it's going down right now. The way that it's going down right now is that clearly the city has gone. We're fine with it. And so they let it stay up for a little while and they take it down, which is the best case scenario anyway, because we want to see something new. We'd get we'd get kind of bored of the same thing. Yeah. And so I like that. You know, it's always something new. Well, not only that, I mean, there was a I was down there interviewing people the day I got put up and there was an art teacher that went to Columbia and she. was just waxing out about how she was teaching her art students about graffiti and kind of street art, you know, and how much it adds to the culture of a place. And the more a place has street art, the more rich and vibrant the social fabric of that place is. And Southern California tends to be a bit arid, you know. If you go to other places, you're like, whoa, this is actually, shit's actually going on here, you know. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You got to watch your language.
Watch your language. You got carried away there. Well, here's the thing. We're talking to Cyrus. Cyrus is a guy that lives in the Cardiff area and talked to somebody that talked to somebody that talked to somebody that knows about the people that made the Cardiff kook. You know, the different weird cool stuff that we see with the Cardiff kook. Now, I will say this, Cyrus, and you may disagree, but I do think that all it will take is one Yahoo. to put a big wiener up there and it's done. It's over. Don't say it. Don't say it. I know, I know. But this is the deal. The guys that are doing this right now are cool guys. You could tell because they actually had the heart to say, we don't want to hurt anyone. We don't want this thing that it's too heavy, it's going to hurt kids. They're good guys. In fact, I could know one of them. And he's a good dude. If I knew him. But who knows if I do. You probably don't. I probably don't. But anyway, I just hope that it gets to continue. And in terms of the street art, I think we do have to have the rule that street art's not allowed because you'll get yahoos. One man's art is another man's wiener. And that's going to be the problem. Some guy's going to go, oh, what? To me, that's art.
But how it is right now I think is pretty cool. That Cardiff kook is way better dressed up. Hey, you know what we should do, Cyrus? Since you're in the know, we'll hang up and we'll have people call in and give suggestions as to maybe what we do next. And when I say we, I mean as a community. You know, what should, you know, because you guys, excuse me, those guys. Yes. maybe wanting to hear some good ideas. Or they may know what they're going to do or whatever, but it's always fun to take some fun suggestions and ideas. You tell the guy that knows the guy to keep up the good work. We enjoy it. If you happen to run into them again. If you happen to. In the meantime... I'm sure that they wouldn't mind getting suggestions from M1s saying, hey, here's what would be fun and cool and wouldn't get anybody in trouble. I think that's an awesome idea. Cool. All right, Cyrus. Well, thank you. We appreciate it. Sure thing. Yeah. Did you guys check out the video? Where can we see it? It's at CorduroyTV with a K. K-O-R dot or K-O-R-D-U-R-O-Y dot TV. And it's a. Okay. Spell it again. Spell it again really slow because I'm.
bad at that k o w w dot k o r d u r o y dot tv okay and it's on the uh it's on the front page it's just a it's a do-it-yourself surfing website you know i can't imagine that a lot of dot TVs are taken. I wish you'd have gone with something a little easier to remember than quarter roll. How about ABC dot TV? You know, I mean, uh, Hey, listen, I know it was taken. Uh, well, thank you, dude. And, uh, we'll check it out. The video. I want to see the video and, uh, you tell the people that can tell the people that, uh, it's fun and keep up the good work. He said, yeah. Thanks a lot, man. Thank you. All right, thanks. M1, Jackie from Oceanside, what's your suggestion? Well, this is for my husband because he loves Star Wars. Either Darth Vader or Stormtrooper. Yeah, I like the Star Wars theme. It's good. A Star Wars theme could be great. How about a Mikey Show theme? Yeah. Oh, I'd love that. They could probably slip a lightsaber into his hand.
In the Mikey show theme? Oh, I meant with the kook. Or the Star Wars theme. Oh. Into the kook's hands. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. They could do that. That would work. You build a fake J, a fake L-O-B. Yeah. Fake Mikey. Do the whole thing. Yep. They could just leave the kook as wood surfing. Fair enough. It's true. I'm kookish. But I meant feminine. Gay is what I really meant. Yeah, yeah. Gay surfer. Homosexual. Twinkle toes. Twinkle-y. Fairy. Yeah. Very light. Light in the loafers. Light in the loafers. Yeah. Quirr. Quirr. What else would be good? Bullfighting? Matador? Of course, that's what you would think. Because of your heritage. Tortilla roller. Tortilla roller and maker. Taco stand owner. Enchilada. Lover. Harry Potter. He could be Harry Potter. Yit. Yeah, Harry Potter's a good theme. Yeah, he could hold a little wand. Cast a spell. What's happening? What's happening? Culturally. The TV show. What's happening? The TV show. Rerun. What's a big cultural phenomenon right now? Casey Anthony. Oh, Woods. Is it too soon on that? It was in my head and I thought, well, I can't say that. I thought it popped in my head and I was like, well, I can't say that. Because that would be. That would be of poor taste. Reprehensible. Reprehensible. What else?
He kind of ruined it, so I don't think we should really list what else. I mean, after Casey Anthony, where do you really go? 5701949. Got ideas for the Cardiff kook. Let's see. I asked the question before. Is veterinary a bit? Well, we know that veterinary in and of itself isn't a bit. Taking care of animals. Taking care of animals.

My obsession with black men came from Bill Cosby. Isn't it? Yeah. And Jay. Man, if I could just be a home dad. On FM 94.9. I said it, I stand by it. I believe that by and large, veterinary is a scam. Now there may be veterinarians out there that go, no, it isn't.
It's not to say that they don't take care of animals. They do. I just think it's a scam, L.O.B. I think it's like mechanics, man. You got to know a good one. Yeah. One that you can trust. And if you do have a good one and one that you can trust, you tell people about them. Because last night, Woods took his dog, Shooter. Shooter is the lab. Yes, black lab. And Shooter had a jacked up ear. I believe is the medical diagnosis. He had a case of jacked up here. He's had it actually for six months, but they just didn't notice because they don't talk to Shooter. They don't talk to Shooter, really. Really? Yes, we do. Do you? Don't we? You talk to the Yorkies and give much more love and attention. Dude, the whites get more love and attention than Shooter does. Well, they are smaller. And they don't shed. Cuter. Cuter. No, Shooter's gorgeous dog. Are you a racist? Beautiful. No. Sure. Why would I be a racist? Give the whites more attention than Shooter. Lucky's black. That's true. But you like the cuter animals. Smaller. Hmm. I love them all. Well, anyway. Not equally. Much like you and your own sons. I love them all. Well, the difference is that I admit it. I won't admit. I just admitted it.
I love some of them more than I love others. Well, Shooter had a problem with his ear. So they took him to the vet. Now, the problem was an infection made the ear swell up. Like you've never seen. Yeah. Wood sent me a picture of it. Now, what do we do when we have an infection? Now, I understand this in dog. I get it. But what do we do when we have an infection? We make an appointment, we go to the doctor. We make an appointment, we go to the doctor. And what does the doctor usually do about it? An infection. Give you an antibiotic. Let me see your insurance card. Okay, you're good to go. 15 bucks. See you later. Antibiotics. Okay. Well, I'll have you know that Shooter's having surgery this morning. Yeah. And by the way, the bill has come to $1,129. Woods had to take out a line of credit. Oh, no. By the way, the bill was more than $1,129. But Wood said, we can't pay this much money. And they said, well, hang on a second. Let's see what we can do. And they lowered the price.
We actually had you guys two separate estimates, one of which was around $330. One came with the leather seats. Yeah. One had this optional CD disc changer. Pinstripes. Yeah. So I'm sitting here, and they itemize it, and I'm sitting here reading all of the different charges. Now, one of the things that they gave him was something called Tramadol. Tramadol is a non-narcotic pain reliever that I've taken before. When I took it, I took 25 milligrams of it. Did you buy it on the street? Came in a pill. No, I did not buy it on the street, Jay. Prescribed. As I said, it was a non-narcotic pain reliever. Strange.
I don't buy pain relievers on the street. Well, you go to like down to Tijuana. Well, Jay just gave me a look like that's not what I heard. So again, when I took tramadol, a non-narcotic pain reliever, it was a 25 milligram. And I would take one of those per day. Well, apparently the tramadol for shooter is 50 milligrams and they gave him 60. The quantity is 60. I've got plenty for sale, just FYI. I mean, did they give that to you or did they give that to you? No, I'll have to get it today. So you're going to fill that prescription? Yeah, when I get out of here today, I'll go pick him up and then do all the prescription bits, which will cost me God knows how much else. And the prescriptions come from like CVS? Yes. Wow. Dog prescription. M1 Shelly from Rancho San Diego. Hey, Mikey. How are you doing today? Good.
I don't think veterinary care is a scam. I think it's the same as going to the doctor without insurance. So all you've proven is that going to the doctor without insurance is a scam, which maybe I agree with you. It is. Maybe it is. But we're looking at two scams, aren't we? Yeah. Okay, fine. Then thank you. Okay, we agree. Looks like they're both a scam. I don't think it's a scam. I mean, they've got pet insurance out there. You can get it. Well, just because you can have it, you can have your scam covered, which is what you do, you know, with, you know, people docs, doesn't make it any less a scam. Well, the bottom line is this. When you take a sick, whatever, child, dog, whatever it is, you take it in, they give you an estimate, and then you're like, man, that's just, that's out of my, you know, I can't afford to pay that. They're like. Hang on, I'll be right back. Leave. Let me go talk to my manager. 20 minutes comes back. Okay, here's what we were able to do. If we just take this and we'll cross that out. Keep buying a car. And that will take that out too. Well, wait, don't I need that stuff though? I mean, if he's in here and you originally put it on there, don't we need that for the dog? It's preferred.
preferred. Yeah, so we can take this off and then what it's going to do... Well, wait a minute. You're taking things off that are preferred. Yeah, it's preferred. But here, here. This is the best part. Yeah. I can get it down to... How's that look for you? Whoa! Well, that's way cheaper than what you originally... Well, now, hold on. Let me double check. Oh, you're leaving again. You're leaving again. Babe, I don't know what to do here. I know. I feel like, why wouldn't they just come out with... Why wouldn't they say that from the very beginning? Guys, I was able to go ahead and get this. This is locked in stone. Kind of. It may fluctuate a little bit. It could fluctuate a little bit lower. But are you leaving something out that's going to help our dogs? Not that you know of. Oh, okay. So is he not going to get the best care because we can't afford it? That's one way to look at it. Some may look at it another way. that some of this just may be superfluous. Oh. Oh, well. So if you just sign here. M1 Kristen from Escondido. Hey, guys. Hi. Woodsy, you're not getting scammed. I promise. You sure? I work at an emergency hospital and a regular hospital. And I'm telling you, does he have a hematoma? Yeah, he does. Okay. If you let that go, then you're going to be spending about three times that in a couple weeks to chop his ear off. Oh.
That's eight. And you know what they told him? What's that? They said it will heal. It could heal on its own. Oh, it could. In five months. In five months. But it would be painful. It'd be painful. So on one hand, you're saying, oh, no, his ear will fall off. And then they're saying, no, it'll heal by itself. No, I said it could. Yeah. It's not an exact science. I'm not a doctor. I can use those words. All right. No, I'm just saying they give you options because. They want to tell you what they would recommend that you do. And if you absolutely can't do that, then, well, this is what we can get away with. Well, and see, I had to practice what I preach because, you know, my stance is always, yeah, you take as good care of your animals as you would your child. Now, I don't have kids. These are my, you know, substitute children. So I had to say, okay, let's do the line of credit and let's go for the big one.
I want the guy to get the best care that he can get. See, and that's the deal. Lest anybody think I don't love that dog. I just spent a fortune on him. I don't think that it's a lack of love to want what's fair. Right. And this just doesn't seem... How do you walk back and come back out with a new number? What, are you buying a car? Yeah. M1 Jerry from San Diego. Go ahead. Yes, you're on the air. Scam, 1,000%. Why do you think so? I had a dog, or have a dog, got a rattlesnake bite, but I didn't take him to the vet. Went to the vet finally, too late to get the antivenom. Soon as the vet found out I didn't want to put him in the, you know, overnight and IVs and $1,500 worth of this and that, the guy wouldn't even talk to me after that. So I was like, well, what can we do?
And they're like, well, you can try these antibiotics and hope for the best. And, well, I didn't have the $1,500, so I got the antibiotics. For $85, my dog's still here today. Wow. I mean, that... Oh. Our dogs used to get bit by rattlesnakes all the time. What? We never took them in. I lived on a farm. They were working dogs. Yeah. Well, guess what? This guy wanted to hook him up, IVs, blah, blah, blah, $1,500. I'm telling you. We got our phone lines full right now of people saying it's not a scam. I'm sorry. I'm looking across from a good friend that I feel got scammed. You're looking at a rube. And that dude, what he said right there sounded to me like a scam. And before we put our cat to sleep, boy, I'll tell you, what we were hearing sure did sound like a scam. I'm not saying they can't help animals. They do help animals. They can help animals. I also think that it's a scam. It's a business, and they're trying to make as much money as possible. M1 Cheryl from San Diego. Hi. Hi. How are you doing? Good. Yeah, I don't think it's a scam, and you haven't really given any valid reasons as to why you think it is. I'm a pre-veterinary student. I've worked in the veterinary clinic. I've worked with estimates with clients. And, yeah, you present the best possible estimate.
to your client so that they can get the best care and you get these people that come in no offense but people come in and they're cheap and they don't want to pay for their animals and they don't want to give them the best care so you have to knock things off because the vet wants to really wants to treat this animal so that they can leave the hospital healthy but you have no choice it's like your hands are tied behind your back yeah you have to knock things off like we have dental estimates and yeah dental estimates can be three four five hundred dollars But people come in there and say, oh, well, I don't want the painkillers. Well, your animals should have the painkillers. Oh, well, I don't want them. So you have to take it off. It's more of a... Hey, I get it. I get it. They have more input. It's not like at the doctor's office where you have insurance and everything's covered. People, they nitpick everything. Cheryl, wait a minute. Cheryl, you're saying I haven't given you any reason to make my case for it being a scam. How about this? Woods paid for an ear cleaning that cost $29.45. Could you have done it on your own? No. Exactly. Oh, so then it's worth $29.49? Yeah, you know, you're going in, you're getting this ear clean, you're paying for the doctor's time, you're paying for the technician's time. Yeah, and I didn't, you know, my thing, here's the interesting part, though.
The reason why I thought I was being, or, you know, continue to be scammed was that I wasn't nitpicking. I looked at the bill and I go, I don't have $1,200. And they go, all right, hang on. Then they started taking off what they felt I didn't need. And my whole thing was, well, why was it on there in the first place? And we're talking a difference of $800. Because it's a standard of care. $800 worth? That's a lot of dough. $800. Hey, I'm not saying veterinary medicine is expensive. You see it as expensive because you don't have insurance for it like in human medicine. For sure. And that's why it's expensive. And having a pet is a luxury. And people just think they can run out and have a dog and, oh, they're never going to have to spend anything on it. But that's just not the way it is. You have to prepare yourself that there are bills for it. I have a dog who's very sick, has valley fever. I have to spend $50 a month on her medications. I have to get... Regular blood tests for her. I knew that in the beginning. I knew that was a responsibility I had. And people don't realize that. Things come up. Animals get sick. Animals need surgery. I agree. It's expensive. I agree. It takes time. Veterinarians spend. I'm going to spend just as much as a medical doctor to go to veterinary school. But when I get out of school, I'm going to make maybe a third of what a doctor makes. And that's a general practitioner. Well, I got a way for you to make more.
What, go to medical school? No. Just tell people that they need to do this and they need to do that and they need to do this and they need to do that. And then if they call you a scam artist, what you can do is go, I'm just an altruistic animal lover. Just looking out for your best interest of your puppy. I'm just trying to give you the best possible care I can possibly give you. Isn't that how doctors tell people too? They always say, well, you should do this. And you should do that. I think that's a scam as well. Yeah, I think we've established it. Yeah, I do. I had a specialist come in to look at my daughter's lip. Just walked in. One minute. Yep, that's an asymmetrical cry face. Walked out. $800 later. Yeah, so it sounds like both are a scam. Hostage. Hostage. Hey, listen. Okay, listen. You're only proving the point, though. I'm proving any point. That it's a scam. Well, she brought up something that...
It doesn't happen to me at the doctor, but it does happen at the dentist. They present me with options. Right. And they try to package it as the first option is really the best. It's going to be the least corrosive. Yeah. Make you feel the best. It's preventative. Or you could go with this one, which is what most people choose. And then you can go with the turd that only your budget can afford. That's true. I mean, maybe it's the same line of thinking there. Here's the best possible option. here's what most people do, and here's what we'll just, the bare minimum. This is what homeless guys do when they're having to get their teeth cleaned. This is what they do. At least then, if you're presented with options, you feel better about it. I mean, they're giving you options. But, like, what this, this seems to make you upset. Because, honestly, I think that they got you because you're so emotionally invested. Oh, yeah, man. And my deal was I can't not take care of them. You know? So, here we go. You know? Pick him up today. Let's see. M1 Frank from PB. Are you there? Yeah, that's me. Oh, man. I got a little Yorkie, right? Yeah. We were at the dog beach, and this crazy pit bull just grabbed him by his waist kind of, and he just twisted his head around, and pretty much I thought he was going to kill him. But he let the dog go because I went over there and kicked him in the ass.
But I picked him, my little dog, and he had, like, a hole on the side of his rib cage. And I tried to get him to walk. He couldn't walk. So, you know, long story short, the pit bull pretty much punctured his lung. Broke a couple of his ribs. Frank, you got to fast forward for me. Go to the part of the vet. Oh, shit, okay. I took him to the vet, right? And they revive him and everything. They tell me he's going to be okay, okay. Now they send me the bill. They're going to be like, okay, this is going to be three nights. You know, we need to keep him here for three nights. It's going to be, like, three grand. I said, what? Three grand? I didn't even get, you know, that's too much. And I'm like, well, I mean, they try to, like, negotiate with me. And I told the veterinarian, I'm like, I'm not buying a car from you. I'm not negotiating with you. And she got so offended. I told her, you know what, just give my dog if she dies, whatever. So they charged me $400 just to revive him. I took the dog to TJ. I got a vet over there in TJ. $300. They charged me for three nights, medicine, and the dog is fine. Oh, wow. But it's not a scam. No, no, no. It's not a scam. Yeah, of course not. Absolutely not. Hey, thank you for the call. Listen, do I believe that they can give your animal great care? Yes, of course I do. But I'm looking at an itemized list right now from, you know, that Woodsy has and I just go, come on. Yeah. And if your argument is, well, it happens with human beings too. Okay, well, all you've showed me is that we get scammed too. And I think we do. Yeah. I think we do. Pets and people should get.
the same care. You should be able to get care for a price that you can afford. Good Lord. Well, some people without insurance can't get the care. Which is crazy. Yeah. Hey, fellas. I'm going to tell you what you need to take off your Facebook. Because if you don't, it's going to be hard for you to get a date. And it's a real list. I looked at it. I agree with it. Also, we got a great email. A ton of good show left, and we've got a live studio audience coming in here. When we come back, old man that does act. Yeah! She's got a cigarette on me and charm. Well, it looks like the 8 westbound Sports Arena Boulevard, that injury accident, still working. It was a van that flipped over the freeway down into the basin. Flatbed tow trucks still on the scene, and they did take that driver away in an ambulance. Watch out on the 15 northbound before the 805. There's a top of a desk in the number three lane. Pretty slow traffic as you come through the 67 in both directions between Lakeside Avenue and the 8. It's in the teens in that area. This report brought to you by USAA, USAA's commitment to service. And now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. I get along better with women than I do with men. Lauren. And I'm a klutz and an idiot. Woods. I remember my first French kiss. And Jay. I'm so tired. On FM 94.9. Welcome back to the Mikey Show. This is Jay. I'm 48. I like to go out. I like to surf and skate. I got L.O.B. over here. Hot little blonde. My mic was off, Jay. Oh, sorry. You can turn on yourself. This is weird. Mike's black, guys. I do, yes. Thank you. You got my buddy Woods across the table from me here. He's fat. Yes. No, no, I'm kidding. He is a good guy.
Chronic Taco, we just want to say thanks to those guys. Two locations on Disney Boulevard, now Community Real. I mean, Ralph from CBS. Hold on just a minute. 15 minutes. Oh, wow. He gave you the finger. Oh, you got the look. How long? 15 minutes. Three minutes. Easily, easily two or three minutes. Was it really? Yeah. Did he get everybody to yell and scream? No. I was giving Chronic Taco some love. They brought food in for us today. Well, let's make some noise, and it's Mikey Show Live. You gave a love to Chronic Taco. I didn't finish. I just was given their first location when you came in. Encinitas Boulevard and El Camino Real between Ralph's and CBS and also in Solana Beach off Loma Santa Fe on the east side of the freeway in the Vons and Big Five shopping center. Breakfast all day long, which is good. Love that. And if you want more, you can just go to...
Wait a minute, that doesn't, the website. EatChronicTacos.com EatChronicTacos.com I was like, I was looking at them like, I think that that is maybe a misspelling, but it was just the way I was looking at it. Did I tell you I woke up in the middle of the night last night and my wife was asleep, fell asleep with the TV on, and Jake was half watching. Rob Zombie's Halloween. I cannot believe that. Jake's your four-year-old son. Four years old. To her defense, there was no sound, so he was just watching a woman stab a guy in the face. You know. We turn off that TV. Yeah. Because you don't know what's going to be coming on late night programming after you're done watching, you know, whatever nerd show she was watching. We had a very civil disagreement, but it was civil. We were able to work our way and maneuver our way through the DVR. And at one point I asked her, are you asking me to not use the DVR? And she goes, no.
No, that is not what I'm asking you. She said, what I'm asking you is, is to set it so that it will only take first runs. And I said, why? And she said, well, because some of your theology programs will have some sort of theology marathon. And they will take 40 episodes of a theology show that you don't watch. And I said, okay, yeah, you got me there. Fair enough. Fair enough. She actually is right about that. And so I had to give her that. But we came to what I think was a very fair and equitable agreement. And that is my shows get the top priority. Whoa. Because. Whoa. That didn't seem fair. Wait, wait, wait. I have four shows that I take. I'm not kidding with what I'm about to tell you.
Do you know how many she has? 12. No. 15. No. 19. 17. No. More. Yeah. 26. No. 30. No. 36. Come on. Surely you just. You're full of it. I'm not. I'm telling you. 40 programs. 4-0. 4-0. Need a blog idea for tonight? Maybe you write down all Rebecca's shows. That's gold, dude. That is. Dude. I'm curious. That's it. I gotta know. I gotta know. I gotta know. I gotta know. I gotta know. Please write that down and send me the idea. I will. That's a great idea. And that is absolutely the blog. Tomorrow. 40 shows. No way. 40. So, hey, listen. She was cool about it. She goes, all right, yours get top priority because you only watch four just as long as their first run. That's fair. That's fair enough. You guys work well together. That's right. We do. Let's see. I'm Mikey.
That's Woodsy. That's L-O-B. That's Jay. And our phone screener is Chris. That's Chris. Okay, so what I was going to share with you, fellas, is about the Facebook. All right? You're on the Facebook, and you are at the same time trying to get lucky with ladies. Okay, you need to remember a couple of things. Number one, be very careful with your pictures. Okay? And this actually goes for both men and women. Be careful with your pictures because the first thing somebody looks at is those pictures when they're checking you out on Facebook. So be selective about the pictures that you post or the ones that you're tagged in, okay? And ladies. Now, I don't agree with this next one. In fact, the only people that I think agree with this next one are ladies who are saying it to ladies. What is it, L-O-B? Don't take pictures of yourself doing duck face. Yes. It says ladies.
Do not do the duck face. I like the duck face. Get the duck face. I like it too. It's very sexy. I just wish that nobody had pointed out and given it a name. Now I feel like a sex pervert for liking it. Yeah. You should. I wish it didn't have to be given a name. I wish that, you know, it didn't have to be pointed out. Now we're idiots because we like it. Yeah, because it wasn't something that I really, that I went, oh, that's a particular thing. Right. You know? Now it's given this name. Now it's given this thing. And now it's like shame on you. Well, it lends credit to the duck fetish that you already have. So it's fair enough. Now it's just kind of like, just because I go to duck fetish.com doesn't make me a duck fetishist. You try to act like you're not into it. And then you open up your lunch box and box and feathers fly out of it. I'm like, Mike, that's true. Uh, Okay, here's number two. Number two with your Facebook. Be careful about the posts about politics or religion. Mikey! Well, I'm not in the dating community. Aren't you? No. I'm not in the dating community. But if I was, I wouldn't stop that. Ever. I wouldn't stop it. No!
No, it's a strike against you. It's not my list. I didn't know. Listen, this is against you. This was a social this was a social like study that was done. I agree. It says we're not saying you shouldn't feel free to express your opinions. Just be aware that you might isolate part of the dating pool in the process. On the other hand, if someone doesn't like your Sarah Palin is the Antichrist status update. you probably wouldn't get along anyway. Which is the truth? Yeah. Now, our consultant, who's widely considered to be one of the best radio consultants there is, often says to me, Mikey, don't need to tell everybody that you're Christian. There may be people that are Buddhists that are turned off by the fact that you're Christian. And don't necessarily have to talk about your faith. Mikey, take off that.
Tim Tebow jersey, okay? You live in San Diego. And while you're at it, take off your habit. Which, here's the thing, you know, we all have various types of friends, and our friends are not necessarily just like us. In fact, a lot of times, our best friends are very different from us. LOB drinks green algae. True story. That was skimmed off a lake in Oregon. And I love L.O.B. I'm not going to do that, but I love that about her. It's what makes her interesting to me. It's intense, though. Facebook is lighthearted. Coming through with these intense, like, it's a mood killer. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Where was it written that Facebook... is lighthearted. It is. Come on. Facebook is just as much of a community as San Diego. It's not a political forum. But wait a minute. Isn't that like saying San Diego is lighthearted? No, it's not. Our neighborhood is lighthearted.
Our neighborhood sometimes is lighthearted. Sometimes our neighborhood is serious. Sometimes our neighborhood is funny. Sometimes it's sad. That means, hey, if something really sad in your life happens, don't put it on Facebook. We're lighthearted around here. You can't take yourself too seriously on Facebook and put posts up like that and expect people not to give you a hard time. That's what you're expecting. Isn't that a sad post? In other words, if you say, I'm so sad because my dog got hit by a car. If you put that. we've established that Facebook is lighthearted. Yeah, but I wouldn't necessarily put a picture of his insides on the highway up on Facebook. You don't have to. I don't know that anybody would necessarily put pictures of their insides up on their Facebook picture as their status, but if we follow your logic, they shouldn't be mentioning the death of a dog because that's not lighthearted. Well, not always lighthearted, but it doesn't have to be so intense. See, I think it's this. That's what they expect of you. Now, I have a couple of friends that I have taken them out of my newsfeed. And the reason I took them out of my newsfeed is I was sick of reading the drama. Drama, yes. Drama. I was sick of reading the drama. Drama's worse than the political and the religious stuff, man. The drama bit's the worst. Well, to you. Maybe from somebody else, it might be, oh, I can't stand the religious. You know, when Mikey puts a quote from the Bible, I don't like it.
I don't do that a lot. But if I did, hello, it's your friend Mike. What do you expect? Yeah, that's what you're going to get. Like me, I'm going to talk smack about the Red Sox. Of course. I'm going to try to stir the pot. Right. Number three, be very careful about your friends and their comments. If you're trying to date, you're looking at the SIG other. You're trying to get yourself a SIG other. Very careful about what your friends and their comments are saying on your Facebook because... Bro, that pig from last night was the fattest girl you've ever met out with. And you've met out with some fat ones. This is why some people disable comments on their wall. Yeah, that's an instant delete. Well, that's the thing. It says not only are potential dates going to be looking at what you post, they're going to be looking at your friends' comments. It's killed by association. Yeah, for sure. So if you're a girl, you got a lot of guys commenting on your status updates.
That might not look that great to a potential dude. Or if you're a guy. Or if you're a guy that sees a lot of guys coming in, you're like, she's easy. She's easy. I'm in. Bam. Or all she has, oh, really? Maybe she just has a good sense of humor. Maybe she's easy. Maybe she's easy. Maybe call a hooker if that's all you care about. My goodness. You don't want to pay for it, pal. Well, that's what match.com is for. Oh, got it, got it, got it. It's fishing with dynamite. And then last they say, careful with the pages that you're liking. It's true. You know what I mean? That you're a fan of. Because it's just like status updates. Sometimes the pages that you like can reveal a lot about you. If you just liked Mel Gibson's Facebook page, people may judge you by that. It's true.
Yeah, but then again, what if you like Mel Gibson? What are you going to do? Yeah. That's who I am. That's who you are. Like, you like Jesus. You're going to put on there. You're on Jesus' fan page. Sometimes, you know, you'll see my stats would be, I like Jesus. I love Jesus. Yeah. And then I'll like it. Then you'll like it. Right. Or somebody, maybe you'll write a dislike. Yeah. I wish there was a dislike button for this. I try to go easy on our fan page. On my personal page, it's my page. Yeah. Do whatever you want. There's that picture of you and Jesus with their arms on each other that is everybody's favorite. That's my Uncle John. He's got a long beard. He's got a long beard. No, you thought that was Jesus all along. That was my Uncle John. He just got a long beard. Fair enough. He just looks like that. Where's Birkenstocks? Yep. That's the deal. Jay's the old man. He's the old man with the poetry. He's so good he's on the money. Come on in here, Jay. An actor with ability. He blinded me with acting. He blinded me with acting. But he failed to pronounce clearly. I'm good at everything, including acting. Well, when I've got a script that maybe I read once or twice. It's a cold read, pal. I'm on IDMB. Oh my gosh. It's a cold read? Yeah. Real fair. I just read.
What he's going to be doing. Before I hand it to you, let me get the music here. You ready, Jason? Sure. Let me kill the music. And let me give you the music that you're actually going to need. And here you go, Jay. You will be playing the part of Dr. Lecter. Oh, God. Silence of the Lambs. Now, the idea is that it's going to be a cold read. You're auditioning for the part, Jay. And action. They were slaughtering the spring lambs. Yes, they were screaming. So you ran away? No. First I tried to free them. I opened the gate of their pen, but they wouldn't run. They just stood there, confused. They wouldn't run. But you could. You did. I took one lamb and I ran away as fast as I could. Where were you going? I don't know. I had no food or water. It was very cold.
I thought, if I can save just one, that's so heavy. So heavy. I didn't get more than a few miles before the sheriff's car found me. The rancher was so angry that he sent me to live at the Lutheran Orphanage in Bozeman. I never saw the ranch again. What became of your lamb, Clarice? Try not lying again, but try to keep in mind the letter is taken right from where you were. But what became of your lamb, Clarice? Not German. More British. More British on that, Mike. Just give me a little more British on that if you could. I've been in America for a long time. Like for how long you been here, Lecter? But what became of your lamb, Clarice? Leprechaun. Yeah, pretend you didn't just jump out of a box of cereal on this one, can you? Go ahead. Do it any way you'd like. Oh, but what became of your lamb, Clarice?
T-O-N-T means continued. Did you fall asleep there? You still wake up sometimes, don't you? Wake up in the dark with the lambs screaming. Yes. Don't you think it's safe? What? Do you think if you save Clarice, no, Catherine, you could make them stop, do you think? If Catherine lives, you won't wake up in the dark ever again to the screaming of the lambs. Slow that down on that mic. Yeah, you're calm fast. It's a big run-on sentence. Yeah, just try it again, but with grammar. Look for the punctuation marks. Do you think if you saved Catherine, you could make them stop? Do you think if Catherine lives, you won't wake up in the dark ever again to the screaming of lambs? Do you? You want me to continue on with that, or should I have him go again? I can't really play off of that. Yeah, I know.
Jody, we're sorry. Jody, we're sorry. Jody, we apologize. It's a young actor we just got in that we were trying to work with. We'll find it soon. Yeah, we'll figure it out. We'll figure it out. Hey, I tell you what, Jay, we'll call you. Don't call us, though. Don't call us back. Please. Whatever you do, don't call us back. Why is he mad at me? He can't read. He hates. The old man that does acting. Jay's the old man who does. When he sees punctuation, he just blasts right through it. Oh, I know it. Do you think if you save Catherine, you could make them stop? Do you think if Catherine lives, you won't wake up in the dark ever again to the screaming of lambs, do you? Oh, man. It's the greatest. Oh, Jason. Let's do some Name That Tune. Play a little Name That Tune. Wow. All right, now here's how we do Name That Tune. You call us 570-1949. You're going to pick me, L-O-B, or Woods. And we use our name as a buzzer, okay? So what that means is that as soon as we recognize the song, we will say our name and that will act as a buzzer. Where actually we just ordered something. It costs like 300 bucks, man.
And I haven't expensed it yet, but I'm going to try to get it past the boss, see if the boss will pay for it. But $300, we just got these new things that Jay actually found. It's actual buzzers, okay? And what's brilliant about these things is that they work on colors, you know, lights and stuff. And so they will definitively be able to tell us who buzzed in first. I was thinking about it, Jay. Yep. What if somebody presses that? Well, it's as soon as you know the answer, though. So you can't cheat. You can go early, but then you take the chance. You miss it, you lose a point. Yeah, you lose a point. So we won't be using our name as a buzzer anymore, which will mean... No, we still actually... No, we won't, right? He'll call it. Jay will call it. Which means we'll no longer be thieving hacks. So that's a good thing. Well, what's going to be great, Woods, is that... Every time we play these games, Woods complains. Oh, yeah. So we're going to know. Well, we're going to know. We're so competitive. We need a $300 system instead of just yelling out our names. Well, it's true because what happens now is Lauren will go, Lauren. And you'll clearly hear her say Lauren before you hear Woods say Woods. And Woods will go.
Is she? I still think we should yell at our names for the audience to participate so they hear it because there's not a beeping sound that goes on with that. I think that we should still go, Lauren. Yeah, maybe we do. So to make it fun still. Yeah, but Jay will be the final call. Can he be trusted? Yeah. Well, yeah, we'll all see it. We'll all see the light. Whatever unit it is, reflashes. All right. M1 Jason, are you there? Yeah. Who do you want? Give me my boy Woodsy. There you go. Hang on the line. M1 Rick from Escondido. Who do you want? I'll take L-O-B. Yes! You got it. He loves me. He's back. And M1 Spencer from the college area. You've got me. Fantastic. Bring it on. All right. Hang on. All right. We use our name as a buzzer. What's the theme, Jay? It's Indian-style cover songs. Got it. And so obviously we'll... the real artist or title work? Yes, it will. So the real art, we can either say Madonna or we can say like a virgin either way, we are going to be okay. And we've got a $50 gift certificate to Al-Ali. I think Action Sports warehouse sale on August 28th through the 21st. I think it's Al-E? No, it says on here, it says pronounced Al-I. Al-I. I know. Al-I. Al-I.
Okay. All right. Let's do this. Name is a buzzer. Here we go. Here we go. Oh, what? Club can't hold me? Close. Close enough. Give it to him. He knows what it is. He can't handle me now. It's Clowrider. There you go. All right. I'll give it to him. I would have never got that. I would have never got this. Nope. I was going to say Lady Gaga. Close enough. How did you know? I don't know. Here we go. What? Nope. Shoot. Tony Basil. Mickey. Yeah. Lauren. Go ahead. Lady Gaga. Yeah. Darn it. I'm trying to keep my hands up and you're begging me for more. I don't have to do anything. I just have to. It's Lady Gaga. I said it was Ricky Iglesias. I like it. You mean Enrique Iglesias? Hold on. Just hang on. Just let it pour over you like butter over pancakes. Just let it just go over you and fill you with delight.
Wait a minute. So which is it? Is it Enrique? He says on his, you know, YouTube video, that's who he said it was. Yeah, he's probably right. Okay. I think everything's Lady Gaga. Yeah, apparently. All right. Here we go. I want to hold them like they do in Jackson. What's Lady Gaga? There you go. Man! Son of a gun. Here we go. Mike! Woods. Three, two, one. Yeah. Mikey already said his name after that. Yeah. I think I'm wrong, though. Okay, well, you go ahead. I'm going to say, well, I'm going to say, I think it's TikTok. Yeah. Go ahead, Lauren. Damn it. Woods and I are tied at zero. Mikey's negative one. All right. Here we go. Lauren. Kesha, TikTok.
It was your TikTok. Oh, man. I don't even get it when it's the real one. Here we go. Catch my plane. Lauren. Mikey. Katy Perry. Damn it! I knew that one! It'll be two, wood zero, Mikey negative one. Feast. Here we go. Lauren. Miley Cyrus. Mikey. Why did you get that one, Mikey? Dang it. I knew it. This one's pretty rough. Mikey. Beyonce. Please, let's hear it. Please, let's hear it. Oh, wow, wow, wow. What? That's fantastic. Oh, wow, wow, wow. We got a break. We got a break. How many are left?
We have two remaining. All right, let's do them. Oh, I'm sorry, three remaining. What are they worth? I don't know. What's the score? I'm at three. These two clowns are at zero. Should we break and then come back and finish? Yes, let's do that. If you go on a campaign to make it so that Bert and Ernie are gay, you might have a lot of time on your hands. Minus the mic. But I'll tell you about that as well as finish this game when we get back. Let's make some noise. We got the... Mikey Show Live going on. We'll be right back. The Mikey Show coming up in minutes. That was a half an inch away from being the greatest thing I've ever seen. Call Mikey now. 570-1949. Does anyone want to explain why the cab driver's in the backseat? Let's make some noise in here. We got a live studio audience. It is Mikey Show Live. And we've had a really good show today, man. We talked to somebody that knows somebody that knows somebody that knows somebody that knows somebody that may know somebody involved in the Cardiff kook thing.
Yes. In other words, he was involved. And it was awesome. It was pretty awesome. And the Cardiff kook, if you didn't know, this weekend was made up to look like a pterodactyl complete. A victim. Pterodactyl victim. Pterodactyl victim. If you will. It was awesome. All right. Let's finish up. Name that too. We've got three questions left. And we're using our name as a buzzer. Jason from Miramesa took woods. Rick from Escondido is back on LOB's train. And Spencer from the college area. Picked me and doesn't have a chance, I don't think. What's the score, L.O.B.? It's three, me, Woods, and you have zero. All right. And these are worth how much, Jay? Two points. All right. Let's go, dude. Here we go. And this is Indian cover tunes. Give it to me, baby. Nice and slow. Lauren. Beyonce. Yeah. We're back in it, dude. We are back in it. She just lost two points. Who is it? 50 cent. Candy shop, right? Candy shop, yes. Darn it. We're back in it, dude. All right. We're back in it. Here we go. Body, yo, woman. Queen.
One final one. Holy cow. Right on the wire. Mikey. Mikey. Jason Mraz. Yeah. That's it, right? No. Lauren. Lauren. Bruno Mars. No. Got you. Right. Last question. Right down to the wire. Man. M1 Rick from Escondido. All right. You're back. Redemption. You're back on the winning streak with L.O.B., dude. Nice job. Yeah. Sweet redemption. There you go. What did he win, Jay? He won the tickets. No, he got the passes. Hold on a second. I'll tell you what he won. $50 gift certificate to Ally Action Sports Warehouse sale going on August 18th through the 21st. There you go. Here from Volcombe, D.C., Burton, and Moore. There you go. Hang in line.
Very nice. I'll tell you. Okay, so we told you about this Taco Bell thing. This guy works at Taco Bell, 24 years old. His name's Jason Dean, and it's in Georgia, Dalton, Georgia. Guy had a thing for his 18-year-old co-worker. He liked her. He used to ask her out all the time. She would say no. So finally he said, okay, I got a new tactic. I will handcuff myself to you. Oh, boy. Until you talk to me. The boss got called. The boss had to call the cops. Cops came. And he's been arrested for false imprisonment, which is a felony. So what he thought was going to be a good time is maybe not going to be such a good time. I guess girls just aren't seeing the romance and things anymore, are they? Yeah. Because years ago that would have been, oh, he's so romantic. He's so romantic. He couldn't live without me. Yeah. Now he's a rapist creep. Yeah. Wow. Now we all know. that men do not like to ask for directions. Some men don't mind. I don't. A lot of men don't. Women, as it turns out, they don't like it either. They don't like to ask for directions either. They just did a survey that said 30% of men and 50% of women say they still don't like asking for directions. Now, here's what else it found. 10% of women and 2% of men
say that they're bad at reading maps. 50% of women and 80% of men say that they're great at reading maps. How the hell are you bad at reading a map? It's a map. That's where the phrase, what do you want me to draw you a map, came from. I am terrible at reading maps. Terrible. It's a map. Still. You have to point the map in the direction that you're headed. I have to stand in the map. Ask me which way is northwest. I have no idea. Okay, but if I give you a map. But your map has north as up. So if you're headed south, then you've got to turn the map. I don't know where I'm going. I'm trying to drive. I'm terrible. Terrible. Oh, thank you, Jay. I have to break one minute ago. I was busy in here. Okay. Let's hear it in our live studio audience, ladies and gentlemen. I still haven't got to this freaking Bert and Ernie story yet, but I will. And wait till I tell you what a dentist was trading drugs for. You give me this, I'll give you drugs. We'll tell you what it is next. The Mikey Show coming up in minutes. Hot quiz, hot shot. Is the Mikey Show. I know. Mikey. Everybody freaks out about guns and stuff. I don't freak out about them because my brother, I grew up around them. My brother had them the whole time I was growing up, so I don't freak out about guns. I like them. Woods. I flooded an entire Hampton Inn. Lauren. I used to be really into the Grateful Dead. Fantastic. And like the knob chomp of. And Jay. I don't want to miss somebody calling just like, hey, let's go serve. Or let's go do something. Oh, Jay, shut up. This is the Mikey Show. Can you believe it? On FM 94.9. We call it Mikey Show Live. That's right. So, it's official. Bert and Ernie are not gay. You silly sausage. Now, apparently there was an online petition with thousands of signatures. People wanted them to be gay. PBS had to come out. Get it? PBS had to...
PBS released a statement via Facebook that cleared things up that said Burt and Ernie are simply best friends. Yes. And there's a TV critic named James. I've heard of him. And he said, honestly, my first reaction to this was that I was glad that they weren't making Burt and Ernie a married couple because I think Burt can do better. I feel the opposite. I think Ernie could do better. Well, Ernie. he said, is kind of a jerk to Bert. He does tricks on him. He lies to him. Steals his pizza. It's like me and you, dude. And then he goes, yeah. And so, yeah, he thinks he could do better. So, anyway, there's the deal with Bert and Ernie. How about the dentist in Massachusetts that was giving painkillers and anxiety meds to female patients in exchange for... allowing him to fondle them. Wow. You can do that? Just when L.O.B. thought she'd heard it all. She's like, wow, men really are horny, aren't they? And these ladies must be hard up for pain. Like it in. Yeah. Now, I wonder how that began. Like, did it start with him making an initial offer or a woman making an initial offer?
Oh, it's not. It's way grosser than you think, Woods, because, yeah, that's what he did. He took the pill case and just, shh, shh, oh. Woods is making out with the pill container. What can I, do you see this? I do, I see those. It's a vacuum. It's straight up. Can I have some of those? Well, you do for me, I do for you. You mean seriously? You do for me. He just popped off the cap and it landed right in front of me. What would you say to one? Yeah, I need those. Two, three. Maybe I get a little... Seriously? Yeah. All right. No! Wow. There it goes. Easy as that, Mike. Yeah, I guess so. Actual audio. That's actual audio. He was 69 years old. That's a good age. Pervert. God! He's got to wear an electronic monitoring device. Sex offender. Yeah. I mean, you know...
I'm just like, really, man? Really, 69-year-old, creepy 69-year-old dude? Just being 69, almost 70, just grabbing boobs for Vikes? I bet he wants to stay that age just to tell people how old he is. I'm sure because he's a creep. I'm 69. 69. Not great. Motorboat? You play the motorboat? You motorboat son of a bitch, you old sailor, you. How about this one? The first reported human... rabies has been linked to a vampire bat. Blah. Blah. The CDC said on Friday that the first death has been related and linked to a vampire bat. Her son was bitten by a vampire bat. It was on his heel. He was sleeping at the time. And they didn't know how to treat it in Mexico. Sleeping in a cave? I don't know. Bats are so creepy. They're the creepiest.
They're like rats with wings. It's disgusting. I don't see them as much here, but at home when we would start to, it would be dust and you would be like, they would just go right by your head. We used to throw rocks up and watch them attack the rocks. They swooped towards them. It's so creepy. Yeah, because they work off sonar. Yep. Andrew Zimmern, the guy that I like to watch eat weird stuff, ate bats. He ate giant bats. And he said that they tasted really, really good because they ate fruit. And, you know, a lot of times the stuff tastes like it's what they eat. That's why they say corn-fed beef or whatever tastes better. But he said that they were good. They were big, giant things. Think how good beef-fed beef would taste. By that logic, Mike. How are you doing, Hill? I'm doing great. How are you guys? We're doing good. And even though it looks kind of...
A little overcast-y. I think it's going to be nice today. I think the stuff is going to burn off and it's going to be a nice day. It was a nice weekend. What did you do this weekend, Hill? Oh, you know, Pump It Up, Kid Ventures, Pinkalicious, the musical. Wow. That's how I roll. We were doing a lot of that kind of stuff, too. We did their second birthday. Oh, right. How'd they like it? They loved it. We had a... What do you call it? A DJ Lance look alike. Stop it. I love yoga. And he fooled my son. Luke thought it was him and was just I've never seen that kid smile so big following him around. And yeah, I walked in and I saw him. I saw this guy and I walked up to him and I go, hey, man. Hey, how you doing? DJ Lance. Here's Mike. He goes, hey, doing Trey. Nice to meet you. And I wanted him to be DJ Lance. You know, I wanted him to be DJ Lance. Hey, what's up, Trey? How you doing? You guys on break. Yeah?
He wasn't in character at the time. Can't fall in character. When Yo Gabba Gabba Live came to San Diego, it was maybe like six or eight months ago, we got some tickets and went and we were on the floor and they invite the kids to come up towards the end and my daughter actually got a hug from DJ Lance and she talked about it for like two months. I bet. I did too, actually. I'm still talking about it. I was thinking about it and I was like... the real DJ Lance for celebrities, dude could probably make like 10 grand to go do an appearance. He probably does. He's probably not talking about it, but he's like, hey, he puts it out in the Hollywood community. I'm coming to your kid's party for 25K. Absolutely. And how much fun does he have? Oh, yeah. Well, that's the thing. Like I, his job to me would be the Worst job in the world. Can I just tell you, there needs to be a bet where if Mike loses, he has to wear a DJ Lance outfit. And go to a kid's birthday party. See, that's the part that would kill me. Because this guy had to sit there for two hours and be like, okay, kids, do you want to play bowling now? And I was like, oh, this poor guy. This poor guy. Sounds like a bet. Did the twins like the presents?
Uh, did the twins like the presents? Yeah, you said that kids don't need presents. Dude, no. No, no. I mean, like them, I mean, I guess, but they were like, they don't care. We're opening the presents. They can't even, they don't even know what, you're like, hey, here's a present. They don't know what it is. They don't even know yet. Jake, he gets it. Next year. Yeah, yeah. Two is a little. Maybe. A little young. Maybe. How'd the pictures come out, though? Great. That's why you have it. Pictures were great. That's why you do it. Pictures were fantastic. What do you got coming up here, Hillary? I am going to play Portugal, The Man, who unfortunately got all their gear stolen, their van stolen at Lollapalooza. Terrible. But they are one of our recommended albums this month. Great album. Play that. Some Cracker, The Specials, New Blink-182, and one of the bands that's doing one of our two upcoming About the Music shows. Get them on, too. There you go. Yeah. Lovely and talented Hillary is up next. Enjoy the rest of your day, and we'll come back tomorrow morning at 6 and do it all over again. Mikey Show's out. Yep.
