Woodsy is a car salesman’s dream, especially if he’s hungry! Old age hair growth in unsightly places somehow leads to talk about attractive old Hollywood actresses then takes a turn for geriatric tennis stars! Weathergirl Sabrina prepares her wardrobe for a visit to hurricane Hercrimony, Her-my-mee, Her-Heiny or however the heck you pronounce it. What do you do with a dead killer whale? Jet Blue flight attendant is back in the news with the sad facts of his life coming into light. Pop music culture’s effect on youth sparks a big discussion on music and the cast’s own personal stories with innuendo and catchy melodies. WoS has to report on a fake report from the day before. What do you get when you blend NFL receiver TJ Houshmanzadeh with a Billy Joel song? You get a belly laugh, that’s what! The crazy Quran burning pastor tries to explain his actions and a Tea Party M1 brings out a playful Sarah Palin. More M1s call in on the Quran burning topic and call each other idiots. ‘Idiot’ is such a strong word. Try ‘imbecile’ M1s, it’s much nicer. Oh snap, LOB consumes sugar! Rebecca prepared “salad sandwiches” at home while Mikey scavenged the fridge for meat. Menudo confuses Mikey’s new nanny whose straight outta Budapest. “Sienna” calls in and the gold bricks drop faster than the octaves in her voice until the real Sienna calls in to set the record straight! Jay just can’t resist a boob joke when hears Sienna describe baby Sage’s voracious appetite. Sabrina calls in live from the hurricane as the wind and “flying Debras” threaten to topple her petite frame. Wyclef Jean just can’t sit quiet when Sean Penn badmouths him so he mocks the politically active actor in what else? A song about Penn loving cocaine. This gets Mikey talking seriously about the drama and lies spread about him over the last eight months and Woods opens up with his heavy emotions about biting his tongue against haters. Mike tells some personal stories about the type of person he was before he met Rebecca and his struggles with what happened at his former station in December 2009. Strangely coincidental at this time a fellow calling himself M1 Steve calls in which you won’t find on the podcast for valid reasons, but lets just say it was a call bound to create a lot of hub-bub, bub. After the 8:30 break Mikey interviews college payment strategy whiz Zac Bissonnette and Lauren falls in love with him or at least in lust with him. The Kid wouldn’t mind wearing Shape-up shoes and cut-off jean shorts to the mall if Mikey did it with him. Hey, here comes the Rooster (on LOB’s ankle)! Proper Orangutan pronunciation begins a huge debate including Tom Tom Girl and “Tang Expert” Jay! Mike Tyson explains how he lost all his dough in wild animal purchases. The sugar begins to take effect as LOB has blonde moment while brunette about Jerry Lewis. She follows by saying Corey Taylor (slipknot/Stone Sour) sounds just like Dave Grohl! To Mikey’s delight, Hilary explains the sport of ‘Noodling’.

Hey. All right, then. Let's do her up. Look at this. It's Wednesday morning, and it feels like Tuesday because Labor Day was Monday. Not everybody had the day off, but a lot of people. And here's what would put another notch in my lipstick case is if you called right now. Call us right now at 570-1949. You literally have a lipstick case. He just quoted Shania Twain. Yeah, he did. I also quoted Pat Benatar. Oh, yeah. Hit me with your best shot. Yeah. Oh, there you go. That's right. I don't know what Shania song says that, but it's blatant plagiarism. If Shania says it, too. Maybe she doesn't. Gonna put another notch in my lipstick case. Maybe that was just an L.O.B. moment. That was an L.O.B. moment. On that back mic. Back. Yeah.
One of the famous Bob Marley that once said, if you put another notch in my lipstick case. I think it was Dylan. It was Dylan. I think it was Muse. Here's my phone number. My cell phone is 858. No. Just kidding. The number here if you want to reach us is 5701949. Maybe Santa comes back to work. Yeah. Please. Maybe we're falling apart. It's so tough for us to get the news and all that stuff together. Get it all situated. But we're doing good. Are we? Our opening music came on. I was saying, nothing is nothing is done. Nothing is done. Nothing is nothing is done. Yeah. This is awesome. You ever just wing stuff real good for four hours? You ever just throw paper everywhere? All right, here we go. Ready? I told Woodsy. Now, Woodsy had a long night last night. Oh, dude. Got to get a new car. New car, five hours at the dealership. That's what it's always like. I have a theory. I think I figured out their bit. What?
and maybe I'm dumb because I haven't bought a lot of cars in my day, but the guy comes in. We're sitting in the room. We're in that little office. There's nothing in there, just a couple chairs. And he goes, well, we're going to get a couple options for you for financing. We said, okay. Comes back 20 minutes later. He goes, two out of the three banks called back. We're going to wait on the third. We're waiting for them. And I'm like, I'm pacing at this point. And I have in my mind what I want to spend. And the guy comes back and he goes, you know, 20 minutes after that. And he goes, uh, that one finally came back and it's really, I'm like, dude, you knew, you knew 20 minutes ago that that third one was already back. They make you wait so long. By the time they put in front of me, I was like, let me sign this thing. I'm out of here. Right. Paid more, a little more than I want to spend, but worth it. That's what they do, right? I will nickel and dime down to like the last dollar. Well, in my head, LLB, all I kept thinking was, okay, I've got to get home. I got to get stories together. I got to write stuff for the show. I got all kinds of work to do. I'm like, if it was double what I paid, I would have signed it. Because I was ready to go home and eat. I hadn't eaten. I was like, Jamie and I were like, come on, let's go. He could have come in and been like, your payment's going to be $2,000 a month. I'd be like, sounds great. Let's go. Get me out of here. I mean, I was ready to rock. They get you hungry. Oh, they do. They are brilliant. It's like interrogation. Yeah. So bring snacks next time you're going to go car shopping. That's a good idea. Maybe do it on a Saturday, not a work day.
Especially if you get up at 3 o'clock in the morning. That's right. But it all worked out. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show. Woodsy's our sports guy. He's 35. I'm 40. Let's see. I'm in my 40s. Whoa. That's weird. That is weird. Oh, man. I'm going to be in the best shape of my life in my 40s. There you go. That's good. Crazy. I'm not going to be in the best shape of my life in my 40s. You will. Yeah, you will. Lauren O'Brien is 29. Your best shape was probably when you ran track. Yeah, yeah You she was a great track star in high school, man Like in the paper kind of deal. Yeah, really good at it Look at you Wow look at you I heard that you were taking a long look at grambling Mm-hmm. Yeah, the college mm-hmm all black college She certainly was. Mike, I toured that campus three or four times. Where were you like eight years ago? That's right. Or however long ago I graduated. That's right. Grambling. So, hon, where are you thinking about schools? Notre Dame, Holy Cross? Grambling. Grambling or Southern, I haven't decided yet. One of the two. I was trying to stomp the yard. Maybe Emory down in Atlanta is a good one, too. One of those. One of those. Great, great drama department.
Great literature studies and female stuff. Yeah. Dad, I'll be there. Not a lot of athletes there. Sienna is our news girl, but she's out because she had a baby. Little baby Sage was born. Maybe she comes back to work. I know it. We miss you. Gosh darn, we miss her. Come on back here, woman. Bundle of joy. Yes. And then we have our producer is Jay. He's 47 years old. He's a sharp dresser. You'd never know that he's 47 because that guy. Except for the gray hair and the wrinkles. But beyond that and the old man hair on my ears. Mine's bad right now. I know. Me too. Get the little clippers, guys. I do tweezers. You can braid mine. Oh. I do tweezers. You don't tweeze those hairs out of your ears? Ow. I just shave them. I make the girl that cuts my hair do it. You do? Not tweeze them, but razor. I don't get that many. Get the thing. It's like a wand. I want to get a wax ear job. Yep. When you get older, man, as a dude, you start to get hair growing out of your ears. That's great. Yeah, you start to turn into Yoda. I don't know. I will. Yeah. I don't know what that happened. Hair in my ears. Dirty joke.
Why does it happen? Yeah. I know why it happens. Why? It happens because I think that it's God's way of saying you're done having kids. And the way that I'm going to make sure of that is I'm going to make you unappealing to females. Maybe. Maybe the same thing happens with women, right? It happens in men and women. Well, women don't grow mustaches. No, but gravity takes control and, you know, stuff. Starts to sprout hairs. Starts to sprout hairs. I hate it. Look. Look how bad. Oh, yeah. Terrible. I look like Yoda. Dude, they sell this thing. It's the same deal you use in your nose you can use in your ears. For men. You put a double A battery in there. It clears it all out. Yeah, I break those. They go. Oh, ow. Maybe don't wait so long. You know how you really know you're getting old as a dude? Your eyebrows start to get the Oscar, the grouch. things sticking out. You get the stray weird hair sticking out of your eyebrows. All the time. It's the weirdest thing. Yeah. Mine'll be four inches long, too. And it stops growing, like, on the head and stuff. What about you, LLB girls? Anything happen with you guys? That's what I'm saying. I think that women, like, well, I haven't, knock on wood, so far I found a gray hair, but.
They start to sprout random hairs, I think, on their face and neck. Oh, my gosh. They grow beards, which is amazing. When you go through, like, the hormonal changes, you get more testosterone and you get stuff like that. Poor ladies. Imagine getting a hair growing out of your chin. As a woman. You're the one of my Cheech Marin. Yeah. What am I, Mikey? What am I, Mikey? I know. My mom would sit there and she would pluck the hairs out of her chin with a... I know. That's crazy. It's terrible because you think, man, when girls are 17 years old, 18 years old. There's no crazy hairs growing out of the chin. 0%. Sometimes I'll look at old women and I'll go, I wonder what you were like. Yeah. I do too. I do too. I wonder if you were a foxy thing at 20. Can't you kind of tell? Yeah. I can too. She really can. Yeah. Betty White, you know she had to be a babe, right? Who's the other one that I really like that's really pretty older woman? She was in Grumpy Old Men. Is that what you're talking about? Well, she's gorgeous. Come on, dummy. Sophia Loren? Well, she's gorgeous, and then the other one that dated Anne-Margaret. Oh, Anne-Margaret. Gorgeous. I think I still would. That's probably in my top three most hideous things Woods has ever said. You have to take an iron to her just to get the wrinkles out. Oh, stop. I think I still would. And I'm going to gag. Stop it. Who was the girl who was always with Gene Wilder and...
in all those movies. Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, Terry Garr. I was thinking Bernadette Peters. Terry Garr? She's not that old. Was she not? Terry Garr was one of them. Bernadette Peters. Bernadette Peters was great, dude. I thought she was great. You guys are not that old. She was hot. How about Greta Gabo? Yeah. What about the woman that was with Kong? You remember her? What was her name? The gap between her teeth? What about the lady from Titanic? The grandma? Rose? She was young. Old Rose? Went to kindergarten with her. Old Rose? Yeah. Was she a famous actress? No. The lady that played Old Rose? You're just saying, that lady. I was just trying to put a mental image in your head of not an attractive older woman. I don't know. I thought she was foxy. How about the Where's the Beef Lady? I thought she was a real treat. Oh, yeesh. How about Magna from Something About Mary? What about the lady from Poltergeist that said, Carol Ann. Oh, my gosh. That's creepy. Go away from the light. So creepy. She's shorter than Mikey. Wow. Mikey did not like that comment.
You didn't do that to me. But he was having a great morning until that happened. Off my pain pills. I know. Advil. That's all I'm doing now. Great. It's really great. Woke up this morning feeling like John McEnroe was bouncing tennis balls off my abdomen all night. Really, Mike? John McEnroe was the most relevant tennis player you could think of? Hey, I pictured it. He was angry. Yeah. Why, Pete Sampras unavailable for a reference? Pete Sampras is a jerk. How about Roger Federer? Yeah, how about that? How about a relevant... Andy Roddick. Andy Roddick. Yeah, somebody that plays tennis in the new millennium. Without a wooden racket. It's like Jimmy Connors was... Bjorn Borg. Yep. Arthur Ashe. It's like Arthur Ashe. It's as if Arthur Ashe were playing tennis off of my abdomen. And he was being joined by Billie Jean King. Christopher, it wasn't available. Yes. M1 Diesel from Ramona. Mikey, what's going on? Not too much, dude. You got a car buying tip for Woodsy. Ooh. You never let them run your credit before you settle a price on the car. We didn't. Because I've gotten messed so many times when you go in there and they say, hey, let me run your credit. Don't they have to run your credit? No, no. I knew what we were getting the car for before he ran our credit.
But it just took me to learn that lesson. It took freaking forever. But, you know, the thing is, I told Jamie after we were done, I was like, hey, whatever. It worked. We drove home on a new ride. Although that's considered like a soft hit on your credit as opposed to applying for like a... A credit card loan, stuff like that. That's more of like a calculated big purchase. And if you have a couple of those in a row, it doesn't take like a whole ton of points off your score. Hey, thanks, Diesel. We appreciate it. There's people that don't know that, so you're giving some good info. Thank you, bro. Yeah. Thank you. M1 Paparazzi is on the line. Good morning. Good morning. I had come up with an idea last night, and since you're all foodies, I'd bring it up to you. What is it? One of my best friends is allergic to poultry. And I was joking around about how good the chicken was, and I thought, you know what? What is the worst allergic reaction you'd be willing to go through for your favorite food? I do it all the time. You do? Yeah. And by the way, your buddy that's allergic to poultry, I think that's a bit. Yeah. You think? Yeah, I think they don't like poultry. He cannot eat chicken at all. His throat swells up. Wow. That's the strangest thing. I've never heard anybody being allergic to a chicken. That's foul. That's foul.
That guy's a giant chicken, man. Just tell him he's chicken and he'll eat it. What a turkey. What a turkey. That's so stupid. Oh, my God. Oh, my gosh. So peasant. Yeah. If I eat anything with sugar, I get this reaction like I'm going to throw up and I have the flu. But sometimes I don't care. It looks too good. And I'll eat sugary stuff. Well, for me, allergies in general are a bit, so I'm not really allergic to anything. I mean, it's all a fake bit. No, they're not a bit. Aren't they? Real deal. Not when you're getting infections and stuff. That's real. Really? Well, what is it then? If you're getting an infection. Germs. Germs? Yeah. You got an infection from germs? Yeah. What if the germs are in your sinuses? Something got up your nose. Wow, that's strange. That's the fourth germy sinus thing you've had in a year. Fake bit. And then you get sinus surgery and you don't have another one. That's strange. Fake bit. That's odd. Fake bit. That's what happened to me. Just wait. Your allergies will change and then you'll know. Nope. Never had them until I came to San Diego. Same with me. I've lived here nine months. I haven't had anything yet. I didn't have them for four years. Me neither. Oh, really? Same thing, Mike. I've got that to look forward to. I think they're getting my wife. Obviously, I don't think they're a fake bit, but I think they're getting my wife pretty good. Get the itchy. I always tell the doctor, I'm like, I thought it was a bit. The doctor's like, oh. I literally used to bang on my forehead like this with my hands to try to get with my knuckles to try to loosen it up because it hurts so bad. Maybe take Mucinex.
I did, man. I took everything. I took everything. I had to have surgery. It was the worst. The word of the day is frisky. Okay. The word of the day is frisky. What do we got as a prize today? Today we're doing the four-pack of tickets to Legoland and a four-pack of tickets to the zoo. That's almost a $500 value. It's more because we're giving away two more Legoland tickets. Oh, two more? Yeah. Oh, that's over $500. Yeah. I went to the zoo yesterday. It's phenomenal. Now it's after Labor Day. Most of the tourists are gone. Although I felt like I was on vacation when I was at the zoo. I bet it was cool. It was awesome. I haven't been there since I was a kid. Really? It happens when you live in San Diego, man. You don't go to all the big attractions that we have. Everything changed. I kept being like, oh, we go this way. Nope, not. They changed it. Was it fun? Did you have fun? I had a lot of fun, but I kept getting mad that stuff wasn't where I thought it was. You know what I want to do, though? You ever seen the old people that ride those little carts and they have a basket in the front of them where you can put your purse? A rascal? Don't get me started. That's what I want. Don't get me. It's in my recap, which you haven't seen yet. That you don't like those? Or you want to let you do it later? I didn't like the three women that were holding up the panda exhibits. How were they holding it up? With their little motor scooters that they didn't need. Oh, that would be me. Oh.
That's what I want. You don't need one of those? No, I just want it. I wouldn't do it, but I want it. Free women in their 30s. I'm just too fat and lazy to walk. Exactly. Yeah, I'm just too lazy. I get chafed at the zoo walking around, so I rode the little double-decker bus, which was fun. We couldn't because we had two babies with strollers, so we were hoofing it. It was good. I do love the double-decker bus. I love the double-decker bus. Because you get to see everything first. and then you go back and walk to see what you want to see after the fact. It's nice. Jamie and I went when she came to visit, and I think we stayed like an hour. Really? Yeah, I was like, oh, all right, you done? Let's go. Jay's right, though. That's the way to go. You take the guided, which is included with the tickets that we have. You take the guided tour bus. It takes you all around the zoo. You mentally remember what you want to go see. Fun. Yeah, and then once you're up at the top, you take the little Skyfari down. Yeah. Skyfari. That's cool. Skyfari. It's awesome. I have friends that have season passes or whatever it is, and they go for lunch. Why? They just go to the zoo for lunch. Rebecca does. Yeah. For what? Season pass. Why? Because she loves the zoo. Well, it's totally different. For her, it's that she has the boys, and she just wants something to do. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That makes sense. You feel like you're on vacation. I felt like I was in Florida, out of town.
What's the coolest animal you saw? A hippopotamus. What was cool about him? He kept like swimming around in circles. You can see the tank. So you could get really as close as possible and you could see the little like wrinkles of the skin and everything. And then he would get up and open up his gigantic mouth. I bet his mouth stunk if you were close to it. When they do stuff, it's the best. Like if the monkeys are running around and they're swinging from vine to vine, that's great. But if they just sit there, you're like, that's a lion. You know what's the worst is when you see a lion in a cement cage that looks like it stinks and the lion's going like this. I know. Yeah, it's real sweet. The conditions in the San Diego Zoo, though, are amazing. I usually feel bad for the animals at the zoo, but at the San Diego Zoo, especially the elephants have so much room to walk around. You're like, how much is rent? Yeah. How much it costs to live here? We'll get to the camping site there. Word of the day, frisky. So when you hear me use the word frisky and work it into a sentence a little bit later in the show, now that could be any time between now and 10 a.m.
When we get off the air. When you hear me use the word frisky in a sentence, you'd be calling number nine at 570-1949. You want a $500 value. Over $500. And that's a pair of tickets to the wild animal park, to the zoo. A four-pack to the zoo? Four-pack to the zoo. Holy Toledo. Four-pack to Legoland. Oh, my gosh. That's a lot. It's a lot. That's a staycation right there. It is. So, San Diego prize pack. You're listening for the word frisky. And I'm sneaky, man. I will work that into a sentence and you'll barely even notice. I never do. Woodsy never does. Never. Never get it. I'm like, cool. And then I don't know if you've ever heard our weather girl, Sabrina. But in fact, Woodsy, we're going to fly her on an airplane out to the site of this latest hurricane. Go get her. We're going to put her on a plane. Hey. Wake up. Hi, Sabrina. Hey, Mickey. What are you doing? I just woke up. Wow, you're dressed fabulous. She's always done up. Doesn't matter if she's asleep. Doesn't matter what the deal is. It's a million bucks. Well, I had to go to bed like this because I was like, I knew I had to wake up. It's this ungodly hour. Do you have something in your mouth? It's called a tongue. Yeah. Whoa. She's wearing her big oversized sunglasses no matter what. Yeah. And occasionally she'll put her palm up to the sunglasses and adjust them. Yeah.
And the sunglasses are almost the size of her entire hand. Well, I don't want to get fingerprints all over the side of them. That is true. You can weld. They're almost the size of her entire face. Yeah, they are. So what? My face is almost the size of your entire face. All right, so here's what we're going to do, Sabrina. We're going to put you on an airplane, okay, because you're our weather girl. Okay. And we are going to fly you out to the site of Hurricane Hermine. Okay. Hermine. I think it's Hermione. Hermine. Hermine. Hermine. Hermine. Hermine. Hermine. Hermine. Hermine. So we're going to send you out to the hurricane. Is there hot guys there? Say that again? Is there hot guys there? I don't know. I doubt it. Like Corpus Christi? Is that where it's like spring break? Or no?
The big spring break area is South Padre Island down there. South Padre Island, big player. You're not going down there. Spring break deal. It's going to be awesome. Are you going to go dress like that, like all nice with a coach bag and all that stuff? Yeah, and heels always. You're going to go report from the hurricane? Yeah. What am I going to wear? Flats? Are you excited? Oh, my God. Stupid. That would be so stupid, right? Never. So you're going to go out there. Her outfit probably. $1,000. Easily. Easily $1,000. Yeah. So you're going to go report from the hurricane in that outfit. Yeah. And yeah, so we'll have you call a little bit later and we'll check in with you from the site of Hurricane Hermine. Hermine. Sounds good. And I'll call you guys and I'll be like, why moo? What am I missing out on? Why moo? Why moo? Why moo? What am I missing out on? All right, let's get you on the plane now. Sounds good. And we'll fly you out there. Bye. Bye. This is very sad news. Did you know that an orca died at SeaWorld? Sad, man. A killer whale named Sumar, who was the focus of that film Harold and Sumar. Oh, boy. Is that correct? It's too soon. No. That's wrong. For about one and a half seconds, I believed you. Color me embarrassed. I was like, really? Yeah. 12-year-old orca.
Didn't have a history of health problems. Which is very young for an orca, Mike. Is it? Yes. Like an adolescent. They can live to 40 years old. Oh, wow. Well, I don't really know what happened. We know what happened at 145 yesterday. And they had to cancel the early afternoon show so that they could care for the whale. So sad. Don't know what you do. What do you do? With a deceased. animal that large? It's such a good question. Where do you take it? Slice it up? What do you do? Do you? I don't know. That's a great question. Do you or do you not? You have to do something. Whale code out of there? What do you do? I think you dig a big hole. I think you do too. I think you take a... You don't dig a big hole. I do believe you do. I think what you do is you take a backhoe and you go out maybe in the desert. And bury a whale. Maybe go to the dump. But don't you think they're going to want to do an autopsy and the whole bit and probably research it for science? Probably. Yeah. Probably. You can't eat it. You can't. You can't take it out. I don't think that's a good idea to take it out to sea and dump it because it may wash up. So I think that what you have to do. Take a hole in the desert. There's a lot of holes in that desert. No way. You have to. What if they. No.
You truck it and they burn it. I was thinking, what if they like... No, you cannot do that. What if they feed it to the sharks at SeaWorld? They won't eat it. They won't? No. Because it's dead? No, it's dead. I don't think they'd eat it anyway. In fact, orcas kill sharks real easily. Orcas are incredibly... The bull sharks will eat anything. Did you intern at SeaWorld one summer? I watch a little bit of Nat Geo. Yeah, you do. Discovery. Who am I talking to? How many episodes of How It's Made did I see yesterday? 17. Found out about Carrie Byron, who's one of the hosts of the show Mythbusters. I'm like a Discovery TV fan now. Seriously. I like Mythbusters, but I wish that they would bust more myths per episode. Yeah, they only bust one. It takes up forever. Yeah. You're like, all right, already. I get it. Yeah, just tell me. Let's get to it already. And then the front page of the San Diego Union-Tribune today, by the way, is that these brothers have been charged into $1.5 million real estate fraud. Holy cow. A lot of San Diegans affected. Mm-hmm. San Diego. San Diegoans? San Diego DA. San Diego DA said yesterday. That's it. We're going to put these guys up. David and John Zepeda. Or Zepeda. Whichever. I don't know.
57 and 59 years old. 104 counts. Wow, man. See ya, fellas. Here's what they got them on. Rent skimming, grand theft, identity theft, forgery, conspiracy. Don't bend over for the soap, guys. They bought gold coins, silver bullion, a Bentley, a bunch of other high-end cars. Wow. With the money that they made. About 300 victims, all told. And took the identity of a bunch of people in San Diego. Scary, dude. These guys were forging. hundreds of deeds to properties already in foreclosure are there any sort of rep reprobutions that are paid to I always wonder that reparations reparations yeah what's retribution I don't know but uh it makes me think you know I've always thought that too L.O.B. I don't think so because you know when you get your identity stolen you're pretty much screwed unless you're like insured on it and your credit is you're toast And they're like, sorry, man. Not our fault. I mean, it takes people years to recover from that stuff. Well, now you can purchase protection. Can you? That's a good idea. They went through these guys' houses, and it turned up $335,000 in uncashed checks. Wow. They had gold watches on them. Wow. Diamond bracelets, rings, $33,000 in cash. You know? I have that on my couch. That's all they found? 8,000 silver coins, gold, and a Bentley.
Wow. Unreal, right? That's a lot. M1 John from Poway? Yes. What's going on? Good morning, guys. How are you? Good. Great. I had to work at a marine facility in New England when I was a kid, and they would, depending on the animal, if it had been there a long time, especially marine animals, dolphins, they would definitely do an autopsy, and then they would remove the entire carcass from the skeleton. Oh, wow. That's what I thought, yeah. And they would clean off the skeleton. skeleton and they would mount it and put it on display. Really? Wow. That's what I figured. Yeah, somewhere to put that. It should have been there a long time. Animals start to develop a little bit of a band-aid, believe it or not. Oh, yeah, for sure. And it's good for the trainers and good for the organization. It was kind of neat. Who knew, dude? But what happens to all the meat stuff? That's a killer whale. I'm going to guess. It does turn into some sort of bio-waste.
I mean, the animals we had that we would incinerate a lot of them. Yeah. They have incinerators that big? I don't even want to go into it. Who's barbecuing? Is me cooking whale? Is that whale? Is that whale or is it pork chops? Gosh. All right. Thank you, dude. Appreciate it. That's M1 John. That's some good info. Our M1s know everything. Part of M1 Nation. It's Mikey Show listeners. There is a major sports organization that has a little egg on their face today. A little false reporting yesterday. ESPN having a ball telling the world about it. Yeah, they did a little false reporting on an A-list star. And, hey, we weren't immune to it. We fell for it. Everybody did. I did, for sure. So we'll tell you about that in Woods on Sports coming up next. Don't forget the word of the day is frisky. And when you hear me work that into a sentence, then you call us at 570-1949. Big stuff in the news today, including this Yahoo that wants to burn the Koran.
I'll tell you about that genius in a little bit, too. 570-1949 is our number. Please call. We'd love to talk to you. And you can text us, 949mikey at gmail.com. Word of the day, frisky. So when you hear the word frisky worked into a sentence, real good, real sweetly, real slyly, then you call us at 570-1949. And you will win a San Diego prize pack that's worth over $500. We're talking about a four-pack of tickets to the zoo and a four-pack of tickets to Legoland. That's really good. I'm just enjoying this. Best part. That's a two-man band, by the way. Get out of here. Two dudes. That's it? Two dudes. Local H is two guys. Yep. Weird. Isn't that good for two guys? It is. That's good for four guys. Yeah. So our weather girl Sabrina is on her way out to report from Hurricane Hermione. Hermine. Hermione.
We just had a 20-minute debate about what it's called this morning. I figure if we just call it everything we think it might be, we'll probably be okay. We can't get filleted that way. They said on NPR this morning, Hermine, and then I looked it up and it had the phonetic little pronunciation which said Hermine. If they said Hermine, it is. But I just thought, I bet it's some Harry Potter fan that called it Hermione. But who knows? If they say Hermine, I'll go with what they say because they're smart. There's a major sports organization that falsely reported a story, and Woodsy's going to tell you about it in a minute. So we'll get to that in just a minute. Hey, this, you know, to me, file this one under not so fast. Yeah. Because when Stephen Slater, the story broke about Stephen Slater. He's the guy that had the meltdown. He's the flight attendant that had the meltdown on JetBlue. I said, listen. I don't think that that dude is somebody that we should be celebrating. And he was. He was celebrated. He was very celebrated. And I said, listen, I don't think we should be celebrating him. And the reason that I don't is because, A, I don't think that what he did was cute. I think it was stupid. And I think it was irresponsible. And if it had happened on a flight that I was on, I would have been like, hey, JetBlue, do me a favor. Why don't you hire...
some flight attendants that aren't going to go half-cocked. Now, this turned into a rallying cry for the working class. I didn't think it was a rallying cry for the working class. I thought it was a rallying cry for the cuckoos. I bought into it. I thought it was amusing. I thought it was sticking it to the man. I was all on board. I thought it was really funny. I was amused. Until I read that article. Hey, listen. I was amused, too, in that... I mean, it doesn't escape anybody. What was funny to me was the dude slid down the inflatable raft that gets you off the plane. With beers in his hand. With beers in his hand. Wahoo! I was quick to point out after my initial to go, it's also very sad that this dude is such a... He sounds unstable to me. Well, the latest report is that Stephen Slater... Apparently has a sad life. His dad has recently died. He's under pressure because his mother is terminally ill. And he is HIV positive. So he's got health problems of his own. And it's a sad thing. And the DA was talking to reporters after a hearing. And he said, you know, it might behoove the public to...
take it a little bit more seriously because it was a $25,000 repair that they had to do on the plane because of his funny little slide that he did. Wow. And the plane had to be taken out of service after it. And, you know, at the risk of sounding like a dad, the DA was like, it's not really very funny. Yeah. And it is and it isn't. I mean, you can't escape the fact that somebody sliding down that raft with a couple of beers in his hand is kind of funny, but at the same time you go, ah, man, come on, man. What's going on with you? And it turns out that dude is pretty, he's got some problems. Yeah, that's sad, man. I read it this morning and I was like, you know, they said, well, because of all these things that he's going through, you know, he's under a lot of pressure. Dude, I totally get that. But it sure changed everything for me. You know, it just made me sad when I read that. Well, you know, man, I've said this for a while. And that is that, you know, the culture that we live in.
The culture that we live in tells us a lot of stuff that I don't necessarily think is correct. In fact, I think most of it is BS. You know, there was just a study that was done that said statistically only 6% of pop music supports a healthy sexual lifestyle for teens. 6%. 6% of the songs. And I thought to myself, I wonder what that 6% is. Yeah. The other 94. The other 94% is sexually explicit. Wow. No, no, no. What it's saying is that any of the rest of the 94%, whenever it's talking about sexual behavior, is not representative of a healthy sexual behavior. Right. It's indicative of either getting laid without using protection, in a way that's going to get you in trouble. In trouble, yeah. You know, they said that the 94% is sexually suggestive. I said suggestive. There ain't no suggestive about it. It's pretty explicit. Yeah, because you know what doesn't sell records? Wait till marriage. No. Use a condom. No, dude. That doesn't sell records. It doesn't sell records. No. It never has. It never has. I mean, maybe the Osmonds. That's all I can think of. No, but you're right. It doesn't. It doesn't.
You know, it's your kids, man. It's your sons. It's your daughters. I think about it and I think about my little boy. My little boy is four. And I go, I got to raise this little dude who, first of all, is going to grow up and he's going to realize, just like all kids do, that that body part can feel pretty good. Oh, yeah. And so then you got to teach him, hey, listen, I know you're going to find out from the world and from everything that that feels great. And I'm telling you. Wait until you get married to do it. Well, what about you, Dad? Did you wait until you were married? No, I didn't. But do as I say, not as I do. So first of all, I've got to deal with that. And then after I deal with that, I have to deal with the fact that I go, hey, man, I just want you to know that a lot of the girls out there that you're going to be messing around with if they've already had sex. you're basically putting a bullet in a gun and spinning the chamber. Every night. Now, I realize that everything, every night. You know what I mean. Every time. Every time. Every time. It's like Eddie Murphy said, man, it's craps. You know, you throw in craps every night. And the deal is that I realize that even though I say it, it's probably not going to make any difference because it feels good. And I would, you know, I think to myself, well, what about you, Mike? If mom and dad had talked to you about that stuff, would you have not had sex before you were married? And I thought, probably not.
Probably not. But does that mean that they shouldn't have said it? No, they should have said it. I'll say it. I'll say it. I'll put it out there. Going back to it real quick, the music thing, are you going to let your boys listen to whatever they want? Not whatever they want, but are you going to put, or Jay, did you with your kids put guidelines on what they can and can't listen to? Here's the best way to answer that. My parents and my brothers. I'm just going to pick a random band from the 70s. Okay. My parents and my brothers didn't listen to Deep Purple. Okay. They didn't listen. But Deep Purple was a popular band. Sure. Okay. They didn't listen to them. They listened to other stuff. Right. So I didn't grow up going, man, I'm really missing out on some Deep Purple. And when I finally heard Deep Purple, it didn't really do much for me. I don't think anybody's ever said that. There are people that really dig it. Okay, so my point in saying that is, it's just not going to be on. They're just not going to be exposed to it. I wasn't exposed to it. And when I finally heard it, I didn't really care. It wasn't something that I was really into. Now, I was exposed by my brother Steve to Journey. That's all I heard growing up. He had every Journey album.
His Journey album started at infinity before Steve Perry was in the band, which I love all that stuff with Greg Raleigh. That's crazy. And that's all I heard growing up was, here's the bands that I grew up listening to. Journey, Styx, my parents, I couldn't stand it when I was growing up, listened to Neil Diamond, Barbra Streisand. The Bee Gees. That's what I heard growing up. Okay, well, now I love that stuff. I got it all on my iTunes because I heard it growing up. Okay, well, my parents didn't do that with forethought. They just did it. Right. And that's what my kids. My kids are growing up. They're going to hear Starfield. They're going to hear a lot of stuff. And they're not going to hear a lot of stuff. Right. And so hopefully they grow up with a love for that music, and then they like it. almost four, guy loves music. Loves music. I mean, he's obsessed with music. He wants every instrument in the book. So I just wonder, you know, he's seven years old. They're going to find music as well. Yeah, they will. They're not just going to go by what you play. And then some of the songs, even growing up that I was listening to, they may not have anything to do with sex, but in my mind, they had everything to do with sex. They're like, you know. Oh, yeah. A Cars song is like, oh, he's telling me to have sex. I should have sex. Yeah. Now, here's the deal. I...
Jay's right. Because I discovered Rat, nobody turned me on to Rat. My parents didn't play it. My brothers didn't listen to it. And I started listening to it. Now, I will say this. When I started listening to Rat and the lyrics that were being said in those songs and the stuff that was being said in those songs was so sexy to me. However, nobody ever said to me before I heard that stuff, let me tell you why that. Could potentially cause you harm nobody ever ever ever said that so the message to me was bang away. Yeah I was for my uncle We lived with my grandmother and my grandfather. My uncle was in high school at the time and huge Kiss fan. So I was literally four years old dressing up as Kiss and running around singing. They call me Dr. Love. I think it's like if your kids are playing the music loud enough for you to hear and you step in and say, whoa, whoa, whoa, what is that? You're not listening to that. It was too late. By the time my mom said no, I was too old.
I remember the first time my mom said no. First time she drew the line was when she heard Dazed and Confused. Really? By Zeppelin? Yeah, it freaked her out. Really? She'd never heard it before, and she heard that. She thought it was the creepiest, most wicked thing she'd ever heard. That's so funny to think about now. I was in my bedroom, and I was ironing a shirt, and I was listening to Dazed and Confused. I was a teenager. And she walked in and she said, I don't know what you're listening to, but I don't like it. It sounds wicked. Wow. That's funny. You told her to get it? I told her to get it. I tell you, I don't think music. It was too late. Yeah. I don't think music is not going to ruin a kid. I think if you've taught them the right stuff, I don't think music is going to change their views. Let me ask you, Jay. Okay. What about Doritos? I love Doritos. Will Doritos ruin a kid?
If they live on a diet. Well, if that's all you give them. Right, right, right. If you give them just Doritos, then yeah. Let's say they just consume Doritos. Okay. Is that bad for them? Yeah. Okay. I am going to suggest that if a kid lives on a diet of just Led Zeppelin type music, it's bad for them. I think there's nothing wrong with Led Zeppelin. Led Zeppelin. No. No, let me tell you why there's something wrong. I'm not going to just feed them Led Zeppelin either. I'm going to make sure that they get a good diet, a good, healthy, rounded diet. I'm not just going to feed them the Doritos, or I'm not just going to feed them one type of music. Well, all I can tell you is, is that my parents didn't feed me the music. I went and fed myself. My parents weren't going, I tell you what, Mike, we're going to give you a little Def Leppard. A little Black Sabbath. A little Black Sabbath. A little Led Zeppelin. Now, luckily... I don't talk like the church lady, so I'm just going to tell you what I feel about this Zeppelin stuff, okay? Because I enjoy me a good Zeppelin song every once in a while. But I don't live on a diet of Zeppelin. I don't live on a diet of Zeppelin. But the reason that I think that living on a diet of Zeppelin is bad is because if you think that you're not consuming what you're hearing, you're wrong. I'm going to tell you right now. If you don't think that you're consuming it just like you consume food,
You're wrong. If you believe right now, as you hear my voice, you go, well, I know I'm not. It doesn't have an effect on me like food. That's a lie. That's a lie. I want you to know that if you hear a voice in your head saying to you, I don't consume music like I consume food, that's a lie. You know, part of me agrees. I've always thought I'd be the parent, though, that the last thing I wanted was my kids. coming in going, Daddy, Daddy, let's go to Jonas Brothers. You know what I mean? I want my kid to have good musical taste because I'm a music snob, as you know, to a degree. But, you know, I... Definitely see where you're coming from. I mean, too much of anything is a bad thing. Anything. I also know that they can practice some self-control because that's what I'm going to teach my kids is, like, the music can't control you. It's what you have inside of you that controls you. Even though you may consume. They're putting it inside of them. Absolutely. I will consume some Led Zeppelin. I will, you know, ACDC, some DO. You know, I'll consume it, but it's not going to control me.
I'm going to control what I do. My reactions are going to be controlled. And my response to that is, that's like saying, I'm going to eat carrots, but the carrots aren't going to control me. No, the carrots aren't going to control me. They're just going to have an effect on me, just like a Big Mac does. If I eat, okay, here's my diet. This is my diet. Big Macs, a little Taco Bell, a little pastrami sandwich with a ton of Thousand Island on it. That is my diet. OK, my parents didn't say to me, hey, listen, you know, you eat this, you listen to this music and it's going to control you. And I didn't say anything like that. And I'm not saying it's going to control you. What I am saying is it will have an effect on you. But I don't think you can make a direct parallel between food and music because food has a. you know, a physiological, a physical effect on you that you can't just, you know, use mind over matter. With music, we have the brain power to distinguish, okay, this is, you know, fact from fiction, fact from entertainment. Some of us. Some of us. Some of us. I mean, you, you know, you remember the, we had a lot of goth girls in high school that were, you know, really into the cure and, you know, things like that. And their music was their lifestyle. You know, because of, of that.
what they listened to all the time. I mean, you know, freaking New Order, The Cure, all that stuff. That was their whole life, their lifestyle. Listen, this used to be, I used to listen to this all the time. And I like it. Pantera. Pantera. I like it. Okay. Now, what I can tell you is, is that I didn't consciously go, I'm really going to think about what I'm hearing right now, and I'm going to think about the lyrics, and I'm going to think about the beat, and I'm going to think about... I didn't think about that. But what I can tell you is that I was an angry, pissed-off dude. Yeah, listen to this stuff. Gee, it's weird. But some people work out to this, and they convert that into like... Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Here's the deal. There's no doubt about it that you can work out to it. Now, here's what I did. I started to... Because I have a craving for that type of music. I got a craving for it. I like that type of music. And so I just started to find stuff that I could listen to that would be that type of music, but what the lyrics were... Better message. I wasn't consuming a gnarly message like this. This can get a little bit. I can work out to this. Yeah, dude. That's pretty mean. It's real mean. Who's that? That's right.
That's mean. Dude, they're so good. Wait till you start singing. It's fantastic music. These guys are so musically talented. So for you, it's more about, obviously, it's more about the message of what it's saying. It's so funny that you say all this, because yesterday, or no, the day before, I was driving home and I was listening to the new Eminem and Rihanna song. Yeah. I love that song. And I was, like, finding myself, I was, like, pumping my fists in my car, and I was like, I'm going to tie it to the bed and set this house on fire. And I was like, whoa, whoa. I actually said to myself out loud, what am I saying? Oh, my God. That's hysterical. And here's the deal, man. The thing that's really tough for me is that, hey, man, I'm just, like, the next guy.
I hear this stuff, and I'm like, I can't help but be singing along to, and so I got on blah, blah, blah, blah with my bottle of Jack. And I'm like, really? Yeah, I know. Does it have to be that contagiously? I know. I hate it. I hate it. T.J. Hooshamazoo. T.J. Hooshamazoo. You hear about this guy? We'll tell you all about it. You know he got released. From the Seattle City. Good football player. Last year signed a ginormous contract. Already picked up, though. We'll tell you who. Will it affect the Chargers? Our overnight DJ said that this next story may be the stupidest thing anybody's ever done. And I have to say that he makes a pretty good argument. Have you heard about the pastor that wants to burn the Koran? Thanks for making my job harder. Yeah. Dumb-dumb. Tell you all about it coming up.
Yeah, Doug. Hey, here's our phone number if you want to use it. 570-1949. If you want to call us, we'd love to hear from you. And if you want to text us, you can do that too. It's 949mikey at gmail.com. Word of the day is frisky. So when you hear us say frisky, just be caller number 9 at 570-1949. But you have to hear us work it into a sentence real cleverly. Sweetly. And sweetly. And when you hear that, you could win a San Diego prize pack, which is worth over $500. Four-packet tickets to the zoo. Four-packet tickets to Legoland. It's huge. Yeah. It's still summertime, so... Is it? Supposedly, until September 22nd. Is that around the time? I think the 21st is the... What's it called? Summer solstice.
No, that was June 21st. It's the Autonomal Equinox. Oh my gosh. Let's save that. Let's save that. Yes! It'll be her. I don't know. It's the vernal equinox I know happens in... Oh my goodness. The vernal equinoxes. Saturn in retrograde. I want a refund. On? In the summer. I put that in my blog yesterday. I was like, if San Diego was a restaurant, I'd have to send my order back. Yeah, send it back. You go, I'm sorry, this isn't done. It's not what I ordered. It's not what I ordered. I didn't want this. Came here from Jersey. This isn't what I ordered. Exactly. It's supposed to be sunny all the time. Yeah. Clouds look like soup. Better than 110 and humid, though, I gotta say. That's true. You know what the restaurant would say to me? Maybe if you put a little... East County seasoning on there, he wouldn't complain. Yeah, absolutely. I think even East County at times has been like, it's been really summer. But they've liked it. I talked to someone that lives in Santee. He's like, oh, it's been the perfect summer. Enjoy it. Sop it up with some bread, man. Enjoy it as long as it lasts. Sabrina's on her way out to Hurricane Hermine. Hermine. Hermine. Hermine. Hermine.
Yeah, so we'll talk to her at 8 from the hurricane. One of our M1s said her mind's gone. It's moving on. We'll find out. There's still some effects. We're going to send our girl down there anyway. We'll find out. At least get her out of the office. That's right. One major sports organization has some egg on their face, and I want to know who it is and what they did. And what did they report falsely? Time for Woods on Sports. Woods on Sports brought to you by our friends at Clearview Eye and Laser Medical Center. Well, I'm going to tell you all about that story. Yeah. In a second. All right. First and foremost, the U.S. Ryder Cup captain, Corey Pavin, has made his captain's picks. They are Stuart Sink, Zach Johnson, and rookie Ricky Fowler. Really? Flashy guy? He's never won anything. No. He's the one that wears the bright colors and everything. Also, El Tigre.
He made it? Of course. Number one player in the world. Still ranked. Still ranked number one. If you've never seen Ryder Cup, I know you're just getting into golf. Yeah. Probably. I mean, next to the Masters, it's the greatest. Woods. If Tiger Woods got chosen and he's playing like a turd, what are they going to do when he goes out there and he represents and he doesn't do good? Isn't he going to feel like a jerk? He's been playing. a lot better. He played a lot better. This last one. I tell you what, it's something like when the papers got signed and that divorce went final, it was a load off the guy's shoulders. Really? Yeah. He's been firing 60 since then. He had a couple bad days here and there, but he's had some Tiger-esque rounds. And like I said, dude, if you've never seen the Ryder Cup, it is awesome. It's the U.S. against Europe. They're playing it this year in Wales. It's going to be phenomenal, dude. I'll sit there and watch three days of golf. Starts October 1st. Here's Tiger on his selection and quieting that Welsh crowd. Cut one. Great fun to play in front of. Crowds are that excited. For sure. You know, as a team member of the U.S. squad, obviously, you want to play well enough to make the crowd go quiet. And that's always the objective of every away team. You're doing the interview with the cucumber on his eyes.
Laying down. Getting his feet rubbed. Getting his feet rubbed. I think that maybe he's in a room where something stinks, so he's plugging his nose. Plugging his nose. Like a clothespin or something. Is it a gas leak? It's really fun in here. Smells like eggs. As a team member of the U.S. squad, obviously. You want to play well enough to make the crowd go quiet. Make the crowd go quiet. That's always subjective of every away team. Every away team. Tiger, how about we talk to you when the smell's gone? Okay, I'll be back. I'm going to go hit some balls and do some putting. Thanks, buddy. Also, last night the Padres got it done 2-1 over the Dodgers. Matt Latos struck out 10. Weird. For the third time in four starts. This kid's going to be an 8. He's going to look really good in Yankee pinstripes here in a couple years. Is it weird that they didn't win a game when we were on break and they've now started winning since we come back? Yeah, here's friend of the Mikey show, Heath Bell. Cut 2. Hey, it's better than 0-10. Now we're 2-8. In our last 10. So, I mean, it's one of those things that we're starting to build our confidence, our swagger. We're starting to get the chip on our shoulder again. And, you know, everybody just wants to help out in the wind. Guy loves him some Mikey. Yes, he does. That's what you need to do this time of year, boys. Keep up the good work. And so yesterday, yeah, I reported, I'll admit it right now, I reported because I got the story from Yahoo Sports.
That Reggie Bush was going to be losing his Heisman. Now, Yahoo Sports came out and they said that he's going to be losing his Heisman Trophy. They said it was a sources report. It's almost a done deal. Right. Well, I guess the chairman of the Heisman Trophy Trust came out. His name is Rob Whalen. He's executive director. And he said, quote, Yahoo Sports claiming Heisman Trust has reached a decision is completely false. The Heisman Trophy Trust has made no decision regarding the Reggie Bush matter. I took that to believe is, yeah, it hasn't happened, but it hasn't happened yet. I think it still may. I think there's still a possibility. Maybe, but it's not. But if I take that in the spirit that it's supposed to be, to me it sounds like... A leprechaun to me? To me it sounds like a leprechaun to me. That sounds like they've made a bad call. Yeah, and I think... So we ain't look like a level coming to me. Absolutely. That's what I'm saying. Absolutely. Also, Mikey, TJ Husmanzada we talked about a little bit. He used to play for the Bengals. He was with Ochocinco. They were a great tandem. He left as a free agent and went to Seattle. Seattle. And he took... I mean, he got a huge contract last year. Yeah. And just didn't produce. So Pete Carroll cut him.
Cut him. Just flat out cut him. They still got to pay him. And he got picked up by the Baltimore Ravens. So they got Anquan Bolden. They got T.J. Husmanzada. Pretty solid receiving core. There was one Raven that may have helped influence him a little bit. Cut three. His thing was if you want to win, it's the place to be. Ray Lewis. And he doesn't have to tell me that because I played against him. I know what they bring to the table. So his recruiting, it wasn't recruiting. It was just, you know, more so just conversation because I already know. you know, what they bring to the table. And he's fired up. Here's a song that I'd like to put out there for T.J. Hushmanzada. He may not have a mohawk or a Spanish nickname. In fact, by comparison, he is quite tame. But he'll be my hero long as he plays the game. This TJ's no hooker. He's always Hushmanzada to me. TJ's no hooker. He can catch a pass with one hand and a block for his backs. He can outrun the coverage when the defense attacks. And he won't jerk the coach with a bad penalty.
I like saying his name cause he's always hushmanzada to me He can score if he wants He's ahead of the path With the win and the stats or the publicity As other receivers who scream throw at me Not celebrate after every TD But I still like his name Cause he's always Hushman's Adder to me Wonderful. I love it. Brilliant. Really wonderful. Brilliant. So, if you haven't heard about this yet, you're going to. It's the guy that is planning on burning the Koran. He calls himself a Christian.
His name is Pastor Terry Jones. And the reason I say he calls himself a Christian is because there is nowhere in the Christian Bible that says to do anything like what this Yahoo is going to do, which is to make things worse and possibly endanger people's lives. I agree with you, except for the possibly part. You know what I mean? For sure. So here is Einstein discussing... Burning the Koran. Now, you're asking yourself, why is he going to burn the Koran? Because he says that it's about time that Americans stop being afraid of radical Islamists. You know, dude, I think that those mortar shells that we're firing off in Afghanistan are a pretty good sign that we're not afraid. In fact, that we're taking the fight to them. Right. I don't know that burning a Koran and... inciting people to violence is really the correct way to go. In fact, your Christian Bible tells you that, Pastor Terry Jones. But what do you have to say? We are revealing that actually Islam is much more dangerous, much more violent than people would like to believe.
You burning the Koran is going to teach me that? What does that do? I don't understand the risk versus reward. You know what I mean? What is the payoff for him? It's only going to elicit a response. That's exactly what he's doing. He's stirring a pot. That's all he's doing, period. This is Ingrid Mattson. She's from the Islamic Society and what she thinks about it. Book burning in history does not have a very good precedent for the rights of people whose books are burned. You think? Terrible things have happened after book burnings. So it's alarming. Oh, boy, with this guy. Here's Robert Gibbs, White House press secretary. And it puts our troops in harm's way. And obviously that hurts atmosphere, hurts atmosphere, hurts atmosphere. Any type of activity like that would be. that puts our troops in harm's way would be a concern to this administration. I'm fond of saying that anger is not a real emotion. Anger is something that we have that masks three very real emotions. Hurt, sadness, and fear. And when I hear this story, I'm hurt by it because I'm a Christian and I hear this Yahoo doing this and I think, oh boy, people are going to think that this is what Christianity is about. Second of all, I'm saddened by it because potentially...
There could be people that are led astray because of this dum-dum. And I'm fearful that we're going to lose American lives as a result of demonstrations against it. P.J. Crowley from the State Department. We've already seen small-scale demonstrations in various countries overseas where anxiety levels are building because of the publicity. But he's still going to do it. Idiot. And that's what bothers me. It says in this article it's a 50-5-0 member church. in gainesville florida this little tiny church so why did we give the publicity to say look what this guy's gonna do because now it's now it's national now it's global news i agree it's global now i mean the the like they said the troops that are are still you know did they say afghanistan they said that it's it's going to cause these people some harm when the images of the burning koran
are brought to light, I mean, man, it broke my heart and it makes me, yeah, it makes me very hurt, sadful. Sadful? Sad and fearful. The thing that gets me about it is dude has heard from General Petraeus. Right. Like, dude, this is a bad idea. Yeah. He's heard that and he's still so prideful that he's like, I don't care. I'm going to do what I want. I'm going to do it. I'm going to do it. And the reason I'm going to do it is because I'm going to get 15 minutes of fame. I'm going to get, and listen, you know. Maybe I'm taking guesses at what his motivations are, but it sure seems like he's going to get his 15 minutes of fame. It's like those guys that held up the signs that said God hates fags. Do you remember that? Of course. Those yahoos from some...
Middleborough Church or whatever it was. Yeah, and you represent such a small portion of the population, but to the people that you're offending, that represents a nation. Sure. Absolutely. And, you know, Mikey is a big fan and has taught me the fast-forward the tape bit. And so, what is this guy, if he fast-forwards the tape on this, okay, so I take the Koran, I take it out into the, you know, the common area of the church, take a match to it, and I burn it. Fast-forward the tape. What's going to happen? Do Americans go, I'm really glad that you did that. I think that's what he's thinking. Now I understand. Now I get it. We're not going to take it. Before you burned that Koran, I didn't really get Islam. Now I do. You've brought it into some sort of crystallized image for me. Now I understand. And you're breeding hatred. And as a pastor, that's not the message you should be doing. Absolutely, Lauren. The panel. This is going to be interesting today. This is really going to be interesting. The reason is because there's really some stuff for us to mull over here. If you've never heard the panel, and you can call in about that, by the way, 570-1949. In fact, let's take some calls on that before we move on. M1 Shampoo from Temecula, you there? Hey, what's going on, monkey? What's up, bro? You know, I agree with you guys that it's kind of crazy what this guy's doing, what this pastor's doing.
And tasteless. But, I mean, I think we're kind of seeing the same thing about this whole 9-11 mosque. I mean, think about it. It's tasteless than building it there, although it is their right to build a mosque where they want to build a mosque. So I'm kind of seeing it from both ends here. You know what I'm kind of saying? Well, there's nobody that's going to disagree with you that it's his right. Yeah. It is right. I mean, it's his right to do. I just think that it's foolish to do it. Again, look at the 9-11 mosque. It's their right to build this mosque, you know, two blocks from the 9-11, from ground zero. But it's tasteless. So here we are, you know, beating this guy up on the radio saying, you know, you shouldn't be doing this. We're showing all these posts. But then again, it's tasteless for them to build a mosque. Well, shampoo, M1 shampoo. Listen, respectfully, bro, I said the same thing about the mosque. I said that it was their right. And I know that you feel that way, but I'm just kind of like showing everybody from the other side. That's more subjective. The insensitivity of the mosque is more subjective. There's no other way to interpret the burning of a Koran. This is, you know, this is disrespectful.
Same thing to them, building a mosque on Ground Zero. Yeah, no, I agree with you. I think most people agree with you. I don't think anybody says that there's a difference between them. I think you're right. I think that they're the same. And it's something that I put on my Facebook. I'm a local Tea Party leader of the Tea Party. And I put on my Facebook a couple days ago, how can 70% of America not have a mosque being built, but one atheist can stop a cross and put on a soldier's grave? So, I mean, it just goes to show that it can be looked at both ways. Hey, since I have you on the line, what's the Tea Party all about? What is that? The Tea Party is a group of people that are usually conservatives and usually Republicans. A lot of people think it's a lot of old white guys, but actually I'm 25. I'm an afternoon member of the Marine Corps. I was in the news back in April, but it's just the people that want to talk about small government, government not having so much control in our lives, fiscal responsibility, making sure that the government... you know, is accounting for what they're spending. We're not just spending, spending, spending, and there's nothing to back up that spending, you know. And that's basically what it is. It's just we want a smaller government. We don't want the government to control every single part of our lives, especially like they try to do here in California with all the new green initiatives that are just killing the jobs locally. And that's what the Tea Party is about, about living in government and fiscal responsibility. Hey, listen, I'm a conservative Republican, too, and so I don't have any issues with...
anything you've said there, all I know is I hear that tea party and I'm like, huh? What is that all about? I hear tea party and I think crumpets. I know you do, Sarah Palin, but you do because you're a big backer of the tea party. Maybe biscuits. I know you like the biscuits, but... Maybe one lump or two. Thank you, shampoo. No problem. You guys have a great day. Sarah, you are whacked out with that. You're a wackadoodle. You little doodler. You don't know. M1 Jesse from IB. What's going on, guys? What do you think? One, that tea party guy's a moron. The government and he's a Marine, and he doesn't want people telling him what to do. But when I was stationed in the wreck... Wait a minute, wait a minute. Hang on a second. I'm going to defend him. Hang on a minute. It isn't that he doesn't want people telling him what to do. He doesn't want the government...
He doesn't want the government regulating everything. That's what he's saying. Not himself either, but he's... Two things can be true at once. I think... Oh, my God. Go ahead. The reason why I'm calling, the priest is an idiot for doing what he's doing, but even when I was stationed in Iraq, we couldn't even help repair a mosque because if we were to take paint scrapers to it and just to scrape off old paint, people could take pictures and twist it and say we're destroying them. Right. You know, so this guy, I don't even know. The guy's just an idiot. The tea party guy's an idiot. Everything that's going on is just retarded. I'm out of order. You're out of order. This whole courtroom is out of order. You can't handle the truth. Do you think it's putting soldiers all over the world, their lives in danger by this idiot doing this? Oh, definitely. I mean, whatever you talk about, one little thing blows up to a huge thing, and then...
Over there, I mean, just a normal hello, a wave, or a thumbs up means something totally different, you know? It's two totally different cultures. I think it was a great Donny Osmond that once said, one bad apple can spoil the whole bunch, girl. You know? I don't know who said it, but I agree. Yeah, that's right. That was my point on it. Jesse, thank you. Appreciate it. Strong take. Thank you, Jesse. It's a strong take. I love it. M1 Charles from Chula Vista. How's it going, guys? Good. First, I'd like to say I owe you guys an apology. When the Mikey show started, I was pretty irritated. I was losing my music in the morning, but you guys give me the best laughs in the morning. Yes, sir. Thank you. That's awesome. And I just want to thank you. I mean, seriously, I was disappointed I'd have to listen to NPR every morning, but now I don't because I get to laugh in the morning. I appreciate that, dude.
I do. I appreciate you very much. Absolutely. This goes out to every American that's listening to this. Everywhere in the U.S., abroad, in the U.S., whatever you're doing. Abroads, guys, it doesn't matter if you're a man or a woman. You know what I mean? Just because you're an American does not give you the right to do whatever the hell you want. Yeah, for sure. Think about the repercussions of your actions, and you have to think about other people. Yeah, wherever you are, you represent your country. It doesn't matter. And I'm sick and tired of the sense of entitlement that Americans have. Fair enough, dude. I agree. What an apropos song. Thank you, man. To take us out, too, Mike. Appreciate you, brother. Thank you. We haven't even got to the panel yet. No. We're cruising, man. I know. We're working our way to it. We'll get to it eventually. We did a lot of stuff today. I know. We got a killer email. We got, oh, this crazy video of Wyclef Jean. Him and Sean Penn are just going back and forth at each other. And we got audio of him, Wyclef Jean, in concert incorporating Sean Penn into being a drug abuser into a song that he sings. We got audio next. Like that? Yeah. You got to be to work at 9. You got an hour and 20 minutes. Very interesting observation. Get it in gear. People need to know, man. Yeah, it's true. Put your ass together.
I'm already dancing over here. I get moving. L.O.B. had a little cinnamon roll, man. Look out. Race yourselves. And that girl gets sugar in her? It's like crack cocaine. It's like meth for a normal person. I didn't have a little bit of it. I just took that down. It's like she snorted cocaine through a meth straw. Could be a crackhead. For sure. Very well could be. I love cinnamon roll at L.O.B. There's a bunch of homeless people that are upset in San Francisco, and I don't. blame them because the dollar menu on McDonald's is now 50 cents more. $1.50, that's not a dollar menu. That is not a dollar. It's a dollar and a half menu. It's about 50. I don't blame them for being upset about it. And people in Colorado are really upset because there's a lot of homes near Boulder that are being destroyed from fire. Big fires, if you didn't know. Bad, man. Big, bad fires happening right now. They're saying pray for rain. Yeah. They need it real bad. They need it. Woodsy, what's going on in sports? No idea. Okay. Zero. He's been having such a hard time. Probably because of last night, right? Yeah, last night. He bought a car. It took so long I couldn't get it. Yeah, and I was at the zoo until late. Sienna, come back to work. You know what, man? There's a lot going on in sports, actually. Boise State actually got, you know, the other night they played against Virginia Tech.
preseason ranked three. And everyone was like, well, do they really have what it takes? Those cats got eight No. 1 votes for the AP Top 25. No. 1, people are calling them. So I'm sure Alabama and Ohio State have something to say about that. But we'll see how that goes. They're a frisky little bunch. Those guys are doing so rad, man. They are. That's a great term for those guys, man, is a frisky little. It's the truth. Also, Mike, the Padres are taking on the Dodgers again tonight at 7.05 at Petco. Corey Lubke, who made his Major League debut last week, did not go very well. You can't just make up names of players, though, Woodsy. L-E-U-B-K-E. Lubke? Lubke? Sounds Polish. Yeah. He's taking on Chad Billingsley tonight. Tough matchup for the pods, but hopefully the rookie can get it done. Last night, you know, my wife is a vegetarian. Pretty much makes you a vegetarian, too. Yeah, pretty much makes me a vegetarian, too. And last night she made salad sandwiches, not kidding. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no. Stop. Record. Needle off the record, dude. Are you kidding? I am not. I'm not kidding you. I've got to sit down for this. Is it exactly what it sounds like? Yes, it is, L-O-B. It's salad in between a couple of pieces of chia bottom bread.
I didn't eat it. She didn't make it for me. She didn't expect that I was going to be eating at home last night because I was supposed to go over to Woodsy's, but we canceled. And so she made our new nanny, who is from Budapest, is vegetarian as well. So she made two peas in a pod salad sandwiches for the two of them. So you know what I sat down with and ate next to them? What? Menudo. Couldn't be farther from a vegetarian. Couldn't be farther from salad sandwiches. Doesn't it have brains or something in it? Intestines. That would be gross. Not brains, idiot. That would be gross. Intestines. Silly. Moron. It's not intestines. It's the lining of a cow's stomach. Oh, dude. This sucks. It does not. It's delicious. I have not seen Rachel Ray do Menudo or...
The Lining of a Cow's Stomach on a 30-Minute Meals episode yet. That just went right over my head. No, no. You don't know what Rachel Ray is? I've heard of her. I watch sports. EVOO? I like girls. How dare you? I've never seen a single episode of Rachel Ray, but I get the pop culture reference. No, I don't. I read books. 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Here's the bit with Woods. If he doesn't do it, it's nerdy. It's dumb. It's weird. You're an idiot. Right. Now I know you're gay. How? Because you macramade yourself a pair of jean shorts. Listen, I didn't macramade jean shorts by saying it. I'm just saying that I know who Rachel Ray is, you know? Anyway, so I sit down, and to make it even filthier, I'm not even eating it out of a bowl. I'm eating it out of a plastic Ziploc container. Oh, gosh. You know, like a little plastic bowl. Yeah. This isn't the one I gave you a week ago, is it?
Yes, it is. Oh, gosh. It's the final remnants of the soup that you brought to me. Can it stay? Oh, well. Listen, I'll eat things eight months after they're delivered. Yeah, you're a dad. That's what dads do. That's what dads do. They go in the refrigerator and they scavenge. Open it up. Does it smell okay? Yeah. Even if it doesn't. You're not going to throw it away. It's wasteful. Of course not. I'm like. I found something in there from 1976 last night. Yeah. My dad has actually, I think, cut the. mulled off of bread and then toasted it and eaten it. Who hasn't? It won't hurt you. It's repugnant. Milk, old milk. I won't drink. Jamie found an article that she goes, dear, look at this. It says it's okay for a week after the sell-by date on milk. I go, zero percent. If it's the 25th and I look at that carton and it says the 25th, I probably don't even drink it that day. I'll eat it on the 25th, not 26th. 26th, I will not touch it. 26, I'll give it the sniff test. No way. See, I can't smell milk. I'll vomit. Even if it's fresh from the teat. It'll still make you sick? Yeah, it'll still make me sick. Really? Yeah. I hate milk, but I like it in cereal.
I agree with you, Woods. If you poured me a glass of milk and said you have to, I'd put a gun to your head. I could have it with cookies. That'd be it. I can't. You know my wife, Rebecca's best friend, Lori? Uh-huh. Every single night, since she was a child, still to this day, every night, one glass of milk. Is it warm? Repugnant. Because there's nothing grosser than warm milk. Yes, it's warm. She keeps it in the car. No, but people... They love warm milk. I keep me up a glass of warm milk. Warm milk. My kids like that. Jasper loves warm milk. So anyway, I warm up this menudo. And my wife and our nanny, Nita, sit down to have their salad sandwiches. And I sit down next to Nita with my Tupperware bowl of menudo. Is it stink? It stinks to high heaven. Oh my gosh, dude. It's filthy. Then I sit down and she looks at me and she goes, what is this you're eating? What is this? And I said, you don't want to know. I'm not going to tell you. And she smiled. She said, what? She looked at Rebecca, what? And Rebecca goes, it's called Menudo. It's a filthy band from years ago. Yes. Yeah. You mean.
You mean to say this is like... Like there's five boys that dance with Thai jeans? I know who these are. Yes. These are boys that dance, right? Gay boys listen to it. Mikey's a favorite band. Yes, in Budapest we like very much. Yes, but I thought you were married to her. Why do you like Menudo if you are straight man married three kids? Why? In my culture, we call this veil. Yes. In my culture, we say, you come out of closet. Or stampede out of closet. You come flittering out of closet. You sashay out of closet. You sashay out of closet with glitter outfit. Super tight pant. You come out of closet with skinny jeans. Mascara. And even Clay Aiken says you're gay. Is this the same in our country? Is this same here? That's how it happened in Budapest. So I said, Rebecca goes, yeah, it's a filthy soup. She says, it's a filthy soup my husband eats, and I'm so sorry. Rebecca doesn't even like soup, period. I just found that out.
That's another thing on the, we should do a bit. We should do a bit of things Rebecca won't eat. Yeah. And just make a bit bored. I've never told you this. Okay, so one time, Rebecca may still have it and I may have saved it. One time I did on my blog, I said, here are the foods that my wife likes to eat. And I put four things. And I said, here are the things my wife doesn't like to eat. And I'm not kidding you. It was. About 175 items. No way, dude. So she likes four things, and she hates 155 items. That's hysterical. Oh, yeah. It was just unbelievable. M1, well, we don't know. Who is this? What's your name? Hello? Hello? Hi, what's your name? M1 college student. M1 college student. What was the word of the day? That's right, and you heard it. Dude. You won a $500 value prize pack from us today. You got the San Diego prize pack. So you got a four-packet ticket to the zoo and a four-packet ticket to Legoland. Congratulations, bro. You made my day. All right, dude. Hang on the line, okay? We do the word of the day every day. We announce the word at 6 in the morning, and then sometime between 6 and 10, we announce with the word of the day. The Mikey Show is five people. It is me, and it's Woods, and it's...
Lauren O'Brien, who we call L.O.B., and it's Sienna and it's Jay, our producer. Now, Sienna's out. She's out on maternity leave. She just had a little baby, Sage, and she'll be out for two days, hopefully. She'll be back in two more days. She'll be back by Friday. Hopefully she's back soon. Here she is. Is this Sienna? Hi, guys. Hi, Sienna. How are you? I'm good. I'm tired. No, she's... Yeah, you've got the baby and everything, baby Sage. I'm ready to come back to work. Are you? Baby Sage now two weeks old. Yes. And Sage there, can we talk to little Sage? Yeah, hang on. Sage here. Hello. Hi, Sage. Hi, Michael. Hi, cutie. Sage is two weeks old. She's so cute. Hi. Hi. How are you? I'm good. Wasn't I on yesterday? You were. Yeah. You liked you. Yeah, we just want to check in with you and see, you know, if anything's changed and how you are. Yeah, I'm a day older. You're a day older. That's one thing that changed. Yeah. Is your Grammy there? Yeah, your Grammy? Yeah, hang on. Let's talk to your Grammy. Grammy! This is Ann Seth, her Grammy. Hello. Hi, Grammy. Hi. How are you? I'm good. That's wonderful. What are you doing? Just doing the radio show. Can we talk to your other daughter, Avalon? I just dropped a gold brick. You did? Oh.
Don't drop those things. Take the phone. Let me talk to Avalon. Hello. Hi, Avalon. Hi. How are you? I'm okay. Is everything good? Yeah, I'm skipping school, obviously. Say, is your sister Waverly around? Hang on. Hello. Hi, Waverly. How are you? I'm good. How you doing? Good. Let me talk to Sienna again. Hello. Hey, Sienna. Hi. Yeah, it's so good to talk to you. I miss you guys. Oh, we miss you too. Oh, we miss you too. Is that baby just working you like crazy? You know that. Yeah, I bet. I bet. Let me talk to her. Your family's so cute. Hang on. Let me talk to her again. Hi, Mike. Hi, Sagey. What are you doing? Just doing the show. I told your sister Waverly that already. Speaking of Waverly, let me talk to her. Are you guys going to call me every day? Every day, yeah, I think so. Yeah, why not? Probably every day. I'll probably burn this out quick. Okay, hang on. Maybe. Hello? Hi, Waverly. Hi, Mikey. You think we've burnt this bit out yet? I don't think so. I don't think so either. Let me talk to Avalon. Hang on. Hello? One more time. Let's talk to your mom, Ansef. Hang on. Hello? Hi, Ansef. You like being a Grammy? It's the best thing ever besides gold and diamonds. That's so awesome. And sapphires. That's so great.
Well, thank you so much. Wait a minute. Hey, somebody wants to talk to you. Hang on a second. Is this the real Sienna? Yes! Oh, no. Get back in here, Woods. Get in here. No, we love you. Sienna, how are you? I'm sleep deprived, that's for sure. Oh, my gosh. She's sleep deprived, she said. She is? Yeah. You were always sleep deprived. I have an idea. Maybe you do the news stories every day and I just swing by on the way home from work and pick them up real sweetly. Are you dying? I want to slit my throat with my fingernail. Figuratively speaking. Figuratively. How many people want to ask Sienna when she'll be back but they don't have the rocks? Me? Me.
I have no idea, you guys. I want to be back. I listen. I get up every morning when you guys start, and I listen, and I'm miserable listening to you. Oh, I miss you. That's nice. Once you guys start talking after the intro music plays, I swear the baby recognizes all of your voices. That's so great. That's crazy. Yeah, we've all been in the same room. That's so great. I'm telling you, she sits there and she listens, and it's amazing. Yeah. Woodsy said the other day, he said, in the next couple of weeks, we give you a little time, blah, blah, blah. But then the next couple of weeks, maybe we bring you some lunch. We do a meeting with you. Oh, really? Yeah. She's like, no. She's like, no. I'm off. I'm off work. Yeah, we just thought it would be fun to incorporate you. Sienna, so is a baby not sleeping through the night? No. No way, right? No way. You know that. She wakes up a bunch of times? Yeah, she wakes up a bunch of times. Oh my god. It's a hungry baby. How's Todd doing with it? He's so good. He's a pro. He's done it before. That's awesome. How's Jenna like her baby sister? Oh my god, she loves it. What does Zipper think of her? Actually, I got video when we came home from the hospital of Zipper's reaction. I should post it. You need to. Yes! Seriously, I want to see it. Me too.
She was so overwhelmed because there was a lot of people at our house that day. She was like, oh my gosh, but she is really overprotective. In case you don't know, Zipper is our miniature dachshund, and she's a year old. Sienna. Sienna's working. She's working. I was just thinking, I'm like, we need to set it. We need to reset this. She's a pro. She's a pro. I got this. No, but she is so overprotective of the baby. Every time the baby cries, the dog is right there. Oh, man. So cool. That's so cool. You should post it if you have time. Oh, yeah. I could do it. My goodness. Maybe get some stories together if you have time. No. You relax. If you guys need help, I miss you guys. We miss you, Sienna. Hey, feel free to shoot any meeting ideas over my way. Yeah, that's true, too. Woods at MikeyShow.com. And, Sienna, we start in that new studio next week. We're going to keep your seat warm. Mm-hmm. Well, I'm going to have to come by with a baby because I'm going to go nuts knowing you guys are in there, and I have to sit in there. That'd be awesome. Can you come in next? Can you come in? Is it too soon? Do I not ask? Am I out of order? Well, she thinks every day is going to be different for her, so I think she'll just have to play there. But I want to, if you can, please come in next week if you can. Yeah. We'll get the nursery all set up. Absolutely. Absolutely. I'm going to try and stop in. That'd be awesome. I thought maybe you guys were going to be in the new studio this week. No. No. We're getting off the air. Training.
And we go in there and just kind of mess around to see what it's like and get used to all the new buttons and everything. And then we'll be broadcasting from there next week. And then to set the levels on your mic, Woods just goes on and goes, hello. Hello. It works. Just to let you guys know, it definitely does gallop in my family because this baby is well fed. She's feasting. Wow. They're like, you might want to cut her back a little bit. Wow. She's like, oh, yeah, I could live like this forever. She's so beautiful. Good job, Sienna. I'm going to tell you, and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to pull the curtain back a little. Uh-oh. There have been, I have seen. In my day, some not very attractive babies. Agreed. Infants. Agreed. Fresh from the womb. Alien-like. Alien-like. It happens. It happens. When we walked into that room, and she handed me Sage, and I got to hold her. I know. I mean, dude, you know, kid's a giant wuss. I started crying immediately. Big tears well up my eyes because we want a baby so bad, too. And I looked at Jamie, and I go,
How freaking beautiful is this child? She was gorgeous. She was perfect. She was. I am just obsessed with her. I keep crying randomly because she's getting bigger already. She's the cutest. She's a really, really good baby. That's so cool. I know everyone says that, but she really is. She is. She is. Well, we can't wait to see you, Sienna. Come see us next week. Or maybe we can see you. Yeah, let me know what day works and I'll be there with the baby and I'll just stop in real quick. You come in at any time. Yeah, well, we will have you do it because we'll start there next Wednesday in the new studio and we'll have you come in right away. Okay. Stop making fun of my voice. Nope. I'm not there to defend myself. You can do whatever you want. I love you guys. We love you. We miss you. I'll see you soon. Bye, Sienna. Bye, Sienna. Give Sage a kiss. We miss her. I do too. Such a bright light. Mm-hmm. We're falling apart without her. Okay. Let's see. Oh, whoa, whoa. I know what I got to do for you. So the... Oh, no. Am I late? Yeah. Weird. We've been late all day. Late all morning. I really want to play this audio because it's so good. It's Wyclef. Wyclef was doing a concert and started going off on Sean Penn. If you don't know, Sean Penn...
Wyclef wants to run for president of Haiti because it's where he's from. Sean Penn's been there doing some humanitarian work and said, well, I don't know where he's been for the last six months. You know, the weird thing about Sean Penn is he's not really an opinionated dude. So, you know, for him to come out and have a really strong opinion is really weird. Well, Wyclef goes on stage and he says, I got a message for Sean Penn and he's singing this song and he works Sean Penn into the song and talks about Sean Penn being a drug abuser. It's making big news. I actually have the audio. I'll play it for you next. So don't go anywhere. It's a Mikey show. We'll be right back. Oh, and Sabrina. We're going to check in with Sabrina from The Hurricane. We'll do that coming up. Mikey's show is myself, Woods, Lauren O'Brien, Sienna, and Jay. He's our producer. Welcome to the show. Already did the word of the day. You did? Yeah, we did. Oh, boy. Had the winter on and everything, Woods. We just talked to him.
FM 94.9? Yeah, FM 94.9. Maybe I was in another room preparing a phone call. Could be. Could be. Maybe not. Maybe not. You want to check in with the hurricane? She's there already? Yeah, our weather girl is Sabrina. She's a typical Southern California girl. 21. Very privileged. Yes, very. Dresses to the nines. She goes to UCLA? She goes to UCLA. I guess her semester hadn't started yet, huh? Used to work at Nordstrom. She wears the oversized sunglasses. Giant sunglasses. Really pretty. Yeah. A little young for us, pal. Definitely too young for us, but I'm just trying to give you the image of who she is. Not too young for Jay, but definitely for us. Definitely for sure. Let's check in with her at the Hurricane. Let's see. Sabrina, are you there? Hi, Sabrina. How are you? Are you standing in the hurricane? Standing here somewhere in the middle of stupid Texas. You're in stupid Texas. Yeah, can you hear me okay? I can hear you fine. I can hear you fine, but I can also hear the high winds. You've got to be careful. You're not outside, are you? I'm standing here on the street. There's lots of Debris flying around or something. There's Debris flying around? Yeah, flying Debris. Who's Debra?
Deborah you mean debris She means it says flying the breath. It doesn't say the breath. It says debris. It says flying debris No, it isn't. No, it's not. No, that's not. Yeah, I think I know. I think you don't. D-E-B-R-I-S. That's debris. That's flying debris, Sabrina. You got to be careful. You're standing in the middle of the street. She said flying debris. It's blowing all around. It's blowing all around because it's a hurricane. You shouldn't be standing out there. Are your glasses still on? Your sunglasses? Of course. Yeah. You guys are the geniuses that sent me out here in the middle of a hurricane. She thought she was going to spring break. Yeah, she did. In September. What about you? There's no hot guys. There's no hot guys because there's nobody on the street. Nobody's to be on the street right now. I think it stops. No, I've been through this before with weather people. You have to be careful when it stops. And is it sunny too? Yeah, it's really sunny. Maybe I'll go for...
lay out and go to town. No, you can't because that's called the eye of the storm. What happens is it eventually comes... It's called the eye of the storm and eventually the winds come back again and that's why it's very dangerous. It fools you into thinking that everything's fine. You're a fool. I'm not a fool. I'm saying that it fools you into thinking that everything's fine and then it starts back up. Do you see? OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG. See? That's... All right. You see, that's why it's dangerous. That's why you've got to stay out of the hurricane. Wow. Thanks for sending me here. You're welcome. What do you want me to, like, check back in or what? Check back in with us. Are you wearing your high heels? I'm still wearing my high heels, yeah. You have your bag with you? You're nice. I've got my coachee on my shoulder. You've got your coachee on your shoulder. Yeah. Watch out for Flying Debris. Yeah, don't be careful with it. Yeah, I know. I'm going to watch out for it. All right. Let's hang up with you. We'll talk to you in a bit. Thanks a lot. Thank you. Debris. That's Sabrina, our weather girl. She's not real bright, pal. She's not. No. I thought she saw a sign that said, be careful of flying Debris. Debris. It's debris. Like Debra, like a girl? Like Debra. Yeah, with an S. It's pronounced debris. Flying Debras. Flying Debras everywhere. It's pronounced debris. Flying softball players. That's right.
All right, so I got this for you. This is Wyclef Jean at his concert talking about Sean Penn. If I was president, if I was the president, if I was president, I got a message for Sean Penn. Maybe he ain't see me in Haiti because he was too busy sniffing cocaine. Oh. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Wow. Well, let's sing it. Pass for the tape. That's for the tape. That's for the tape. Why Clef? What does that get you? I said it to Woodsy yesterday. I said, you know, my take is going to be really simple. It's just not going to buy anything with Sean Penn or Sean Penn's fans. It's not going to go anywhere positive. No. If Sean Penn says that he hasn't seen you for the last six months that he's been out there, that's probably going to make you mad. And the reason it makes you mad is because you're hurt by it.
And so I say it stinks, but you just don't respond to it. It's tough to do. I mean, bro, you know, it happens to us. I mean, things like that happen to us all the time. And me, in my growth, as a 35-year-old man, an adult now, hopefully father-to-be one day, I'm learning every day that sometimes it's just better not to say anything at all. I was talking to a guy yesterday, a new neighbor of mine, and I said, There has been so many situations in the last eight months where bad things have been said about me. Yep. Lies. 100%. Flat out lies have been said about me. And I go, hmm. And I know how I want to respond. Yeah. Because the way that I'm wired, here's what God created with me. A guy with low self-esteem and a very fragile ego. And.
Somebody that is very self-absorbed. And he also gifted me with a very clever mind and a way with words. Now, the combination of all those things can be very toxic. Because if you're clever and funny and you have a way with words, but you're also insecure and you're self-absorbed. What? those things when they come together can be a very deadly cocktail of blech. And I know how to use my mouth to be destructive. And so when I hear things and I go, oh my gosh, that's a lie. That's not true. That's a flat out lie about me. I look at my kid and I go, that ain't your dad, man. Somebody's lying about your dad.
I look at my wife. I go, somebody's lying about your husband. And then I go, I'm going to let God take care of it. You know, and I've seen lies about you. I've seen lies about me, about you, L.O.B., about Jay, about Sienna, about the whole show. And the way that I am is, the way I am is I'm like, I can make fun of Mikey. You can't. Mikey can make fun of me, and you feel the same way. You can make fun of me. They can't. And it's one of the truth. And that's the that's the God's honest truth, man, is that because it comes from a place of love. Exactly. And, you know, the thing and you know what? You know me. You know me. You've met me. You've shaken my hand. It's it's one thing, man, that when I when we first started this job, you know, I was a recruiter. L.O.B. was an actress and a comedian and waited tables and things like that. She was in the corporate world. We were I wasn't used to seeing. bad stuff about me man never never all the things i saw about me hey woods does a great job here at work blah blah blah to read your name on the internet it was a real real struggle for me our first probably 60 days on the air i was banging my head against the wall i mean i didn't know what to do i really didn't and i fired back and now man it just i've realized it just doesn't get you anywhere you know i felt like kanye west on twitter yesterday saying
I want to meet every person face to face because if you knew me, you wouldn't feel that way about me. And if they knew you, Mike, they wouldn't feel that way about you. Period. And that's, you know, but that's the thing, man, is that those war, those types of war of war of words, it never leads anywhere positive or healthy. And I want to. Yeah, I think I said to you, even with this situation with Wyclef, you know, I don't want to be the source of fighting. between two people perpetuating it i want to be the source of healing between two people you know hey man i gotta say because i would be a dope if i didn't say this hardest time of my life god got me through all of it hardest time of my life god got me through all of it let's get you dude at first i was like i'm sure i don't know this
Because I only know I ran by Flock of Seagulls. And I'm like, no, I know this. You thought you did. I know this. And so you heard the sweet sounds of... Space age love song. That's right. Listen to this velvet guitar. That's good, dude. I don't care who you are. It takes me right back to high school. Just feathered hair, real good. Jean jacket. Isn't that great? M1 Cullen from Escondido. What's up? Are you there, Cullen? Cullen, are you there? Cullen is. Oh, wait. Sorry, I didn't have your button on. There you go. Now you're on the air. Yeah. Hey, thanks for taking my call, man. I appreciate it. Thank you, bro. I just wanted to call and just throw a little support to you and cast. You know, I was a long time, you know, with you at the other place from on the radio. And I was like, what's going on? You know, it was like everything. You know at the time what was going on, just that you weren't on the air anymore. And I don't know what's being said.
There isn't. There isn't. I mean, and this was stuff that was from months and months ago. Sure. And it's, you know, it doesn't really exist anymore, but it hurts. And, you know, I just wanted to say, man, I'm just I'm still absolutely huge supporter. I've been listening to you now ever since 94.9. I absolutely love the new show, love the new cast. And I really respect the fact that. the whole last nine months on the end of the, you know, you've always taken. And I just think that's, you know, I mean, I think that's a great example. And it's kind of yours. Thank you, bro. Love the new show. Not the new show, but love the show. Love the cast. Love what you guys do. And I just wanted to say, man, keep doing what you're doing. Thank you, Colin. I appreciate that, man. It's really nice of you. Appreciate it. Thanks.
This is going to be interesting. This is a guy named Zach Bissonette, and I hope I'm getting the name right. Zach, am I getting that right? Zach Bissonette? Zach is a senior at UMass, and he's doing something that I've never heard of before. This guy is obviously getting a great education. No debt. Zero. Great school, too. And he's writing a book about how he did it. He was on the Today Show. Let's take a listen to a clip from him from the Today Show. There's evidence that students who graduate with a lot of debt are less likely to enjoy their careers because they have to take a high-paying job instead of something that they're maybe more passionate about to start paying those loans. And I think that's really sad because college should be all about building a flexible foundation for your life. And a foundation of debt is not flexible. It's not something you want to build on. Okay, so that's Zach on the Today Show. How old are you? 22 years old. Now, I never went to college, but everybody that I know that went to college, all you hear is student loans, student loans, student loans, student loans, student loans. And people are paying off student loans their whole lives. Well into their 30s. Well into their 30s. Now, I don't know what you can give us outside of buying the book because I know that you want to sell the book and so you don't want to give away too much. No, I can give away a lot.
Here's the interesting thing about paying for college. Tuition and fees and room and board at the average public four-year college in America is $15,500 a year. After the tax credit, which most families will get, it's $13,000 a year. And that's including living expenses. So it's not really all that much if you go to a four-year public college. And if you break it down on a monthly payment plan, which you can pay it off over the course of the semester without any interest, it works out to about $250 a week. And if you have a student who's working while they're in school and the parents maybe cut back expenses some, and this is assuming you get no financial aid. So if you're low income, it's going to be less than this. But it's $250 a week with no financial aid. If it's $125 for the kid and $125 for the parents, and you're working, living on less, drinking fewer lattes, that kind of thing, it's not impossible to cash flow college. It's not easy, but it's definitely worth it. Wow, man. Wow, dude. It seems impossible, but you did it. Yeah. Yeah. Right, and I had a head start because I worked a ton when I was in high school, so I had a ton of cash and savings. But even if I hadn't had a lot of cash and savings, I think my concern is that a lot of people fill out the financial aid form, get the student loans. Everyone else is borrowing money to pay for college. So a lot of people aren't stopping to take the time to say, is there a way we can do this without debt? Really what I wanted to do with Debt for You was motivate people to get on board with the idea of how terrible student loan debt is.
and to get them motivated to do it without loans, and then to show them how to do that. So if you have a kid, what are you going to tell them? You're going to say, just go to work. You know, you're going to just get a job when you're as young as you can and start saving dough. A study that showed that students who worked while they were in college actually graduated with, on average, higher GPAs than students who don't work. So a lot of parents, it's the sort of mamby-pambyism, you know, liberal thing. You know, my kid can't work during college. He needs to have all his time to study. It's not true. The only thing that's going to suffer while your kid's in school if he's working is his performance in beer pong. Working does not hurt performance in school. There's a lot of evidence of that. So, yeah, I mean, working during college is a great way to cash flow it. And if you go to a private college and it costs $40,000 a year, there's no way to do that without loans. But at $13,000 a year, it's not impossible. I hope my kid, my three kids, I hope they're like you when they're 22. Listen to you. You sound like a CEO of a company. No doubt. That's so great. Also, I just looked up the cover of his book. He's very attractive. Wow. He's sharp. Hey. Are you single? Sharp cat. Sharp cat, dude. Do you want to see him? Yeah, let's see. Sharp cat. He's not bad to look at. Single, my friend? Oh, look at that dude. Yeah. Wait a minute. Come on. Zach, is that you? Is that really you? I am single, actually.
We put how I paid for college in the subtitle was that we had a different title and people would look at it and say, well, is that really him on the cover? Is that just some random college guy? It's Tom, your roommate from college. Dude, you're so good looking, you can probably get a broad to pay for your school. You come out to San Diego. Wait a minute, Zach, is that you, Zach? Yeah. It is? Yeah, he's a sharp cat. That guy probably gets free pie in restaurants. Yeah, that definitely helps your cause. Hi, the house just wanted to send out a free piece of apple pie for you, Mr. Bissonette. But honestly, I had a job in college. It helps you prioritize. When you've got to be somewhere, you're like, okay, if I have to be at work at six. I had a friend who just started working in college, and he said, you know, I used to come home from class at five. and go to sleep at 2 a.m. and sit around and do nothing and get no work done for nine hours and then go to sleep and not do my homework. But if I had to have a job and then only had two hours to do my work, I'd get it done. So in a weird way, having less time makes you much more productive. Yeah, for sure. I was a bartender in college.
Hey, that wasn't the problem. The money wasn't the problem. I made like $300 cash a night, four nights a week. The problem was his day job. He was a stripper. That was the problem. It's hard to balance the two. The problem was what I was doing with that money. That was the problem, my friend. I wasn't putting it in the bank. Let's just leave it at that. Oh, boy. The strippers can interfere with me. So you're graduating in December or in May? Yeah, you're thinking about coming out to San Diego? Do you know how to surf? Yeah. Zach, do you know how to surf? Because I can teach you. I can totally teach you. So, Zach, on this whole debt-free college experience, do you have a Facebook? I'm from New Jersey, so, I mean, I'm from the East Coast. Very cool. Look at Zach. He's making a love connection. Well, listen, Zach, this sounds like it. Tell everybody the name of the book. It's called Debt Free You, and you can get it on Amazon. It's actually on sale for $9.36. Nice. That's great. That's great. Well, hey, listen, you're on the Today Show, and you got a good idea here, man. You're telling people how they go to college and not have any debt. No, it's important. The single greatest gift you can give your child is a debt-free diploma. It's far more valuable than a diploma from a private school. LOB is fanning herself. Yeah, she's fanning herself. I'm flustered. He's smart, and he's attractive. That's right. And he's debt-free. And he's debt-free. So you think that guy's going to make a little coin in his day? You think?
Well, hey, Zach, we'll be watching for your second book. Absolutely. Called Living Single with a Lot of Dough. How I Slayed a Different Girl Every Night by Zach Bissonette. All right, Zach, thanks for the call. Thanks so much. We'll see you. Bye. Look at that. Smart, good-looking guy. Look at his arm. He's like ripped. Son of a gun, dude. I wonder if that's really Zach. Yeah, it's him. It says it's him. Yeah, I watched him on the Today Show. It's him. There really is. Is there a video out there? No, bud. Yeah. You have a YouTube to that? Does he have a sex tape out by chance? I'll find you on Facebook. Can I just send me that link real quick? Tonight's 8 o'clock album will go. Summer Teeth is the album tonight, 8 o'clock here on FM 94.9. Let's see. This was pretty good. Letterman went on The View. Oh, boy. You know why? Oh, because what's her face? Barbara. Yeah.
Barbara Walters came back from her heart surgery, so they wanted to talk to him because he had heart surgery too. So he came on and talked about it. Looking back on it, I don't know if I had specific heart-related symptoms, but I knew that for a couple of years before the surgery, I thought country music was getting worse. What? That's funny. That's so random. That's funny. That was one of his symptoms. Yeah. Let's see. Would you have to give up, Dave? Well, I'm only smoking about a carton a day. I've cut way down on the cigarettes. This guy sounds like a rat. I had to give up cigars. Oh, man. Did you give up cigars? Yes, I did. Yes, I did. Yeah, he asked Barbara Walters if she gave up cigars. I never smoked cigars. Yeah, it was never what we smoked. I just shooted heroin. Heroin? Heroin. It was only marijuana. Coquane. Speedballs. H1 Bilbo from Middle Earth is on the line. Hi, Bilbo. Bilbo, are you there? Yes, I am here. This is H1 Bilbo. I just wanted to give a shout-out to Mikey. You know, I would talk about some of that stuff before. We're all behind you, and we love you. I mean, we've had problems with Neil Diamond once when we showed up to the show to give you some props. And, you know, her feelings are hurt. We had to leave. But you know what? We're behind you all the way. The Neil Diamond thing didn't phase us. We looked past it. Thank you, Bilbo. Is H1 for Hobbit 1? Hobbit 1. Yes, Hobbit 1. We decided that...
You know what, Mikey deserves better. Let's take it to the next level. Give him H1. And that's why we're all behind. He's holding the phone with his feet. His ashen, oversized feet. Gnarled feet with a gnarled nail. Pointed ear. Yeah, the pointed ears. The big feet's attractive. And a lot of women, mostly East Coast, they like the big feet. Wiccan women? Yeah. On-phone hobbit. That's what it says right now on your screen. It says on phone, Hobbit. Hobbit. Thank you very much, Bilbo. It's Bilbo Baggins. I go, why didn't Mikey just say H1? He's losing his mind. That's what I thought. Yeah, he goes by H1. Can you just name yourself stuff? What's the deal? An L1 is a fan of L-O-B. That's right. An O-W-1 is a Woods fan. Not as fun to say. L1 is better. All right, let me kill this music because I have a debate for people. We're going to let you call in 570-1949. Woodsy says that this word is pronounced orangutan. You know why I say that? Why? Because it is. It isn't. It is. I say that it's orangutan.
5701949. Is it Orangutan or Orangutan? We need Bookworm to call. You're asking me. She'll know. Bookworm knows. Yeah. Come on, Bookworm. Creepy. Creeper. First time I heard it. In one second is all it took me. I saw those guys open for Foo Fighters. Dick Ulas. Jameet's World and Foo Fighters? Yeah, Jameet's World and Foo Fighters. It was solid. Dude, that's sick. You know that song, Bleed American? Yeah. Oh, dude. Maybe I'll play it tomorrow. That's great. They blew the roof off that place. Really? Where'd you see that? In Dallas? Yep. Such a good, good show to go to. Was it before that people knew who they were? Oh, no. No. People knew. Yeah, it was right around the time of their last album that they put out, which I haven't heard, but probably need to. A very underrated band. Very underrated. Oh, yeah. Bleeding Americans is good. That's mean, dude. I don't care. Yeah, it's good. You know the only problem with them? Their band name. Jimmy Eat World. Yeah.
Like Hoobastank. I can't get behind a band that's called Hoobastank. I can't throw a t-shirt on that says Hoobastank. Jimmy Eat World is way cooler. It's not way cooler. It's not way cooler. It's cooler than Hoobastank, but so is Velvet Turd. At least Jimmy Eat and World are all three real words. Fair enough. I wonder why bands do that. Why do they do that? Why do they go for the artsy names? I don't know. I'm a big fan of the names. The cult, the cure, the doors. I got to get you, you like them. You know, this is like, if you like this, you'll probably like this. Yeah. You'll probably like this. Yeah, that's great. I found this band because I was playing a video game and it was on the soundtrack. I've done that to like 10 bands. Who's that? Acceptance. Never heard of them. Never heard of them in my life. Every song on here is good. That's great. Isn't that great? Tickles the ear groans. Tickles the nostrils. Isn't that great? That's great. I picture myself running if I ever ran, like jogging, listening to that, but that's never going to happen. I picture myself sitting on my couch, thinking about jogging, listening to that. Wearing some running shoes with your headphones on. How much money, you know, cold hard cash, would it take for me to give you to wear those shoes that are shaped like a rocking chair? Rocking chair.
The oval-shaped tennis shoes. Step-ups? Step-ups? The Joe Montana? Joe Montana. Oh, the shape-ups. Shape-ups. How long? You have to wear it with jean shorts. Where? To the mall. For how long? The mall where there's like, you know, high-class girls. You would look so weird. Fashion Valley. Okay. Fashion Valley. You have to walk into Nordstrom. In jean shorts and shape ups. And a white tank top? And a white... Wow. Oh my gosh. Do I smell a challenge here? Oh, dude. I will videotape it. Would you pay me $100? That's it? I will do it for a bill. That's it? I'll do it for a bill this afternoon. We have to go in there, though. And we have to like browse. We'll hit the whole, we'll hit every department. Will you talk like Wolfgang? No, I will not. No, he's got to be him. See, if he could do a bit, he would just be like, yeah, it's a bit. And I'll do it. But if he has to go in there and be him in a white wife beater. Okay, one more thing. Just give me one more thing. The tank top has to be a little snug. Oh boy. I'm fat.
It has to be a little snog. Wow. That's going to look ridiculous. Oh, my gosh. He just pulled his shirt. He goes like this. Oh, my gosh, Woods. Jeans, shorts. Jeans, shorts, shorts. Shape-ups. Shape-ups. And his headlights are on. Oh. His headlights are always on. He was playing with them earlier. No, I bumped one of my nipples into the door, and it hurt. I did. They chafe really easily. Oh, wow. They do. Would you do it? For $100? Yeah. Hell yeah. Wow. You are brave. That's crazy. Oh my gosh. Would you? No. Maybe we go, oh, I got a better bit. I won't wear shape-ups, jorts, and a tight-fitting towel. I have a better bit. Me and you in matching. Shape-ups, jean shorts, white tank top, walking around Nordstrom's. No, because then people would think it was a bit. It has to be just one of you. Not if we were just casual. Just casual. We just walk in there like normal. And I wasn't like, oh, great, Nordstrom's. We're shopping. We're just shopping. You would never do that. How about I do white tank top, you do black tank top? Oh. Ying and yang. Oh, my God. Or, or. I just got lightheaded. We go, like, white jean shorts, black tank top, and then yours is reversed. Oh, gosh. Black.
Tank top, white jean shorts. I do that, and then you do black jean shorts, white tank top. And we look like a hip-hop band, like Criss Cross. Oh, my gosh. Would you do it? Shape-ups. Shape-ups. Oh, my gosh. Would you do it? It's the shape-ups that's got you hung up. That's what's got you skeeved? Oh, the whole thing, man. Got the wife beater. Oh, gosh. What? What if you can see my big belly scar through the tank top? It's okay. It looks cool. You can see everything through it. Yeah, you wear black. I got to wear the black one, which means I have to wear white jorts. Yeah, white jorts. Where do you even get those? Weans. Warts. Where do I get white jean shorts? Warts. I don't know. You could get white jeans and cut them. Oh, that's even better. Cut-off jorts, even better. We'll get you cut-offs. Stick them in the dryer, get them a little frayed. We'll look like hip-hop, man. We'll be oil and vinegar. You will not look hip-hop. You'll look like... Speaking of that... I don't even want to say it. I was going to say farmers. L.O.B. said in her recap... Where is my recap? Oh, boy. Here. There it is. This made me laugh. I'll do it for $100. I'll go in there for an hour for $100. L.O.B. said yesterday she went to the zoo and cut off jean shorts and a rooster tattoo on my leg. She goes, I am white trash. I am.
I am. I walked into one of our promotions guys' office yesterday, and our program director, Garrett, was in there. And I walked in. I said, by the way, I didn't dress like this in the office. He's like, why are you dressed like that anyway? I'm going to the zoo. What were you dressed like? She was wearing jean shorts. I bet they were real shorts. Was it jean shorts like with the prey? It's the ones I wore to Indy Jam. You saw them. But she has that big rooster tattoo on her. I hate this. We had like a five-minute discussion about my stupid rooster tattoo, and I was like, here we go with the bits. He didn't know? It just always comes up. Yeah, our program director didn't know she had a rooster tattoo on her ankle. Probably wouldn't hire her. Yeah, what the hell is that on your cap? Hey, is that a rooster on your ankle? You're fired. You're fired. M1 Bree from Del Mar. Hey, what's up? What's going on? Are we talking about the orangutan? Yeah, you've got to tell me. Is it orangutan or orangutan? You've got to tell me, what is an orangutan? I don't know. What is that? That's the proper pronunciation for the word that you know as orangutan. I believe it's a primate. It's a primate. When I was a child and I went to the zoo, I went to go see the orangutan. Me too.
Like tang. I know you do. Like the astronaut drink. So do the people in Kentucky and Alabama, too. All right? I disagree. Do you? I think it's pronounced orangutan. Why don't you look it up? Hey, Mike. What? I went to the zoo yesterday. Yeah? The lady that was describing the little primate exhibit. Yeah? It's not the way they say it in Arkansas. Over here on the right, we have the orangutan exhibit. That's right. Yes. Yes. My sister-in-law said, hey, that's wrong, it's orangutan. She did? Yeah, and I said, no, it's orangutan. I say orangutan. I'm going to stick with the lady at the zoo over a cubby. Look it up on your computer. See if you could find it. I'll find it. Yeah, on like what, pronunciation.com? Pronunciation.com. Some of those websites give the pronunciation with it. Yeah. It sounds like TomTom Lady. Yeah. Oh, dude. This one has, yeah, the voice activated. Go. Orangutan. That's wrong. Hit it again. Orangutan. One more time. Orangutan. What? Orangutan. Did you say? Orangutan. That's what I thought he said. Orangutan. Orangutan. Go to a different website. Why would I go to a different one? Because that one is probably wrong. That's my cousin, Mikey. M1, yeah.
Tom, Tom, girl. That's your cousin. Maybe she doesn't know the pronunciation. M1 Everett. Yvette. Yvette. Sorry, Yvette. From Solana Beach. Sorry. Just like he says orangutan. Hey, I'm here to support you, Mikey. Yes. I am a professional at absolutely nothing, and I say orangutan. Thank you. Yeah, there you go. All right. I think it's orangutan. It's not. It is. We can all say paschetti. It doesn't make it right. Paschetti. Tang, so they're for orangutan. Yeah, you don't drink it. I think of the drink. You don't drink tan. Hey, let me spell it. Mikey, if you spell it wrong, I'm going to give you a BB, by the way. Oh, I know that it's spelled orangutan. Spell it. All right, thank you for the call. You're welcome. I'm one, Yvette. It's spelled O-R-A-N-G-T-A-N. You forgot the U. You forgot the U. You're getting a BB. I won't hurt you. You just got surgery. Yeah, T-A-N. Orangutan. Yeah, why is anyone adding the G? You find another one? I found it. Well, let's hear this one. Orangutan. Tan! Listen to that. Orangutan. Weird. Hit it. What did it say? Orangutan. What? Say it. What? Orangutan. Yeah, exactly. That can't be. It can be. I've said orangutan my whole life. I know. Orangutan. I want to look for it. Let me look.
Are we going to go to the library after work, Mike? Yeah, exactly. You need me to draw you a picture? Happy Valentine's Day. I call her with some crowns. Yeah, crowns. The roof. I will punch you in the face. I'll come out here and rough talk him and run him off. Alright, I found one. This better not say orangutan. Orangutan. There you go. That one says orangutan. You doctored it. I didn't. I was an English major. Yeah. Okay? Orangutan. I am on freedictionary.com. They actually have it in here as orangutan with a G on the end. Brilliant. And then another derivation of it is orangutan. Maybe they're both right. Orangutan. Orangutan. Could it be right? Could it both? Orangutan. Let's get San Diego Zoo on the phone. Orang-a-Tang. That's so irritating. There's a movie called Bang Bang Orang-a-Tang. There is? Yes. It's not a movie that any of us can watch. That's a monkey adult film. I'm all in. Weird. An overworked and stressed out man in the middle of his career causes the worst tragedy that can happen to a family. Bang Bang Orang-a-Tang. Why are those girls topless? I don't know. They really were. M1 Mike in Cardiff. Hey. Hey. Yo. Hey, Chopper.
I got a cousin that looks like one. Yeah. I did know that. I learned that at the zoo. There you go. And you, it's, people have them everywhere. They have them in Burma. And those guys are cool, man. They remind me of, like, no offense, Mikey, but if you were to be an animal, you'd be an orangutan. For sure. Oh, none taken. None taken, of course. In fact, you know, most people say Mikey either reminds me of a whale, an otter, or an orangutan. Wow. It's orangutan.
Orangutan. I'm glad to hear that your hernia surgery went well. Me too. Thank you. I'm glad for your help. I met LLB over at the Java Hut in Encinitas a while back. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's cool. I thought you guys are so cool. I'm glad you're spending the love of God in everything that you do, and that's really kosher for me coming from a Jew. That's cool. To quote up today, I just want to give you guys a quote for the day. It's a true leader leads by example, but not by force. That's cool. Huge. I love it. I love that. I love quotes. Thank you. That's from the artist show at the R.L. from Stan Zoo. That's great. There you go. Thank you very much. I've got a quote, too. What? It's called Feast on This. That's by Steve Woods. Stephen Woods. I have a quote, too. Orangutan. Here's my quote. Orangutan. M1, Kurt from Vista. Hey, Mikey. How's it going? What's up? Hey, I was just... Just talking to my wife about it, she believes that people started calling it orangutan because of the powdered orange. Totally. Dang, yes. Yeah, there used to be an orangutan on the cover of it. Really? Yeah. So that's where it came from? No, it didn't. I don't believe it. Thank you. That's true. Can you get my bag and put my bag over there and see if it's my stupid iPhone? What's the matter? That's doing that. It's this one.
I was alive before Tang. There was no way. It was the Tang drink that changed. Jay, you are not the consultant on pronunciation, Mr. Alzheimer's. I know about Tang, let me just tell you. Prenum. Prenum. The Roof. What was that? Audio tune. Audio tune. Audio tune. Audio tune. I don't call it audio tune. Don't you? You're out of your core. But it's weird because he calls Audioslave, Autoslave. Autoslave. Do you have any Tums? Yeah. I want to get that lion attack thing. I've been seeing it on the news this morning. They caught a lion attack on tape at like a zoo or something. The lion clearly didn't want to do any harm because if it did, the guy would be dead. Exactly, yeah. He was just messing. Just bit his leg. How many do you want? Two, right? Sure. It looks like the female lion's like, honey, calm down. Take it easy, babe. Since when could two guys make a lion stop fighting you? It's like two guys are rough talking him. How cute are those things? Hey, you have beautiful hair. It looks like the lion. Yeah, the lion's just playing. Yeah, that looks like a real treat. You know who doesn't get bit by a lion? Yeah, exactly. Oh, stop it. He's a trainer. Training from behind the wall. Talk to Roy. I'm telling you, man.
Those lions, they're wild animals at heart, and so they're going to do something every once in a while. What do you think is going to happen? I'll have to show you guys. I got a picture from the zoo yesterday. The two Asian elephants, they were, like, doing their thing, and they came straight up to the fence. Oh, man, I wish I had the picture. You mean doing their thing? No, no, no. Well, we saw that. I was like, whoa. We saw that. But they came up, and they were doing their thing, and then they both came together and looked straight at, like. at the crowd, and were just staring at us, and I was like, they're going to stampede. What were they? Two Asian elephants. Wow. And they're just looking at you like that? Yeah, they came from, and then they came straight on. It's just, don't want to be eyeballing. You know what they have in Dallas that's really cool, not that anybody that lives in San Diego could care less, but it's a lion rescue, and you can go out and feed them, and Jamie and I took a pack of drumsticks, chicken drumsticks. You can take whatever you want? No, no. They made you a goulash. They ask that you bring drumsticks. Or lasagna. One of the two. And you can hold them up. Turkey lasagna. Giant lion will jump up and eat it out of your hand. No. I've got pictures. It's incredible. Keep me away from it. Two of Tyson's lions are there. He and his entourage showed up and go, we can't care for these anymore. Here. Tiger. No, Tiger. Tiger Rescue. I was going to say he's good. Tiger Rescue. Tiger Rescue. Yeah. So cool. Tiger Woods was there during his ordeal. For a month and a half. Hanging out. Hanging out. Nope. I'm going to leave these.
I'm going to leave these tigers with you with a couple of steaks. I don't really care for them, tiger. That's fine by me. I'll be here if you need mine. Why can't you take care of them anymore? Because both of them are renting free and pooping in the house. Everywhere. But you pay good money for them. I pay $4 million a piece. I can't figure out why I can't manage my money. I pay $4 million a piece for these tigers. Wow, that's a lot of money. You have $7 in the bank. How's that possible? I have seven tigers, too, with $4 million apiece. That's a problem. I bought 455 tigers. You made over $100 million in your career, Mike. I know, but I spent it all on tigers. Don't you have a thing for pigeons, too? I have pigeons, and the pigeons I bought from a special breeder, $455 a pigeon. I had 947,000 pigeons. And plus, if you put in the pigeon food, And the tiger food. That's how I went broke. Maybe sell the pigeons to the Kings of Leon. Oh, boy. The Queens of Leon. You guys are glad. Get pooed on by the pigeons. Maybe you can make some moisturizer out of their poo. That's right. I have made moisturizer out of their poo. How do you think I keep my tribal tattoo on my face so soft? True. That's true. It looks fabulous, by the way.
Let's see. I'm weird because you know what? I love that tattoo. I think it's so cool on him. I think it looks so rad. Anyone else? When he did it, I go, that's badass. You did? I did. I go, that is awesome. On him. Wow. I did not have that reaction. I did. I was like, that looks rad on him. I went, that poor guy. I think it looks cool. Bash for FM 94.9. It's going to be great. 4th and B downtown on Saturday, November 13th. New politics, the night marchers, and the hold steady. I got 10 oddly insured body parts by celebrities, right? Death by Vuvuzuela? Is that possible? It is, and I'll tell you how next. I'm going to tell you in a minute how it's possible to have death by Vuvuzuela. Somebody beats you over the head with it? Well, they're plastic, though. Somebody shoves it up your nose? That would do it. That'd do it. But that's not how. It's a different way. I'll tell you. First, I got some new releases. And these actually came out yesterday, but yesterday was Tuesday. Felt like Monday to us because of Labor Day. So some new stuff came out.
This is CD's first. The Acorn. No ghost. Don't have a problem with it yet. Nope. Smarter than me. Definitely way smarter than me. Sounds like it would be on the soundtrack of Juno. Yeah, it does. Yeah. Or Garden State. Garden State. So it was Zooey. Deschanel. Deschanel. I see Zach Braff driving his Prius down Sunset listening to that. I think you're right. Yeah. Yeah. But not me. Not Mikey. Amberlynn. Dark is the way, light is a place. Like it instantly. I played an Amberlynn song the other day. I like it. This next one can't. Oh, no. It's Bachman and Turner. It's not Bachman-Turner Overdrive, BTO. It's not that. You know Bachman-Turner Overdrive? Yeah, sure. BTO. Isn't that taking care of business? Taking care of business. You know I know that. But this is a band called Bachman and Turner. Maybe they dropped. Overdrive.
Overdrive. Bill Overdrive. He's out. That's them. You can tell. Sounds like them. That's them. Yeah, it's going to be good. Yes. Oh, wow. I'm not overdriving anymore. 100%. I would bet my child on it if I had one. Yeah. Still just as bad. Yeah. Just taking care of business. Writing the words of an already bad sound. But we took the same melody and same guitar chord. We're reworking our business. Every day we're doing parodies of ourselves. Every way. Very EBWS. Very much. Sarah Bareilles. Oh, I love her. Guilty pleasure. Never heard of her. Yes, you have. On my mother. Don't. On my mother. I never have. Mikey, look. Hand over my heart. Never heard of Sarah Borealis. Apparently there's a lot of piano on this one. I'm going to play you this song that was a hit by her, and you tell me if you know. You're probably going to go, oh, that's who that is. That's her, yeah. Okay, go. Never heard of it.
Come on. On my mother. On my mother, the Bible, whatever. I swear I've never heard that. Never heard that? Now, did you just get the United States or did you? I swear I've never heard it. Jay, you've heard that, right? Yes. Yeah, yeah. Anyway, Sarah Bareilles got a new one. It's called Kaleidoscope Heart. I'm embarrassed. Instantly. Instantly embarrassed. Beautiful. I'm gay. Apparently. Easy imaging heap. Are you stealing people's bits? It's the same thing. No, it's harmony. Less auto-tune. It's harmonies. I like that love song thing, but that one, no. Not so much. There's better ones. I heard other tracks. Interpol and their Self-Type. Yeah, and all the way. Absolutely. Interpol's cool. I like this. Okay, good. I gotta get this. Yeah. What's her song that we know? How are things on the West Coast? It's a great song. It's a great band. Self-titled, Brendan James. Sounds like a Timberland song. Mikey will have this on his iPod in 45 minutes.
Yeah, it sounds like a map commercial. It got better once it kind of kicked in. I'm sick of the same guy recycled with a different name. Yeah. I hear a lot of songs and I go, that sounds like an Apple commercial. Yeah. Or VW. Or EBW? No, VW. Volkswagen. The old Beetle commercial. Listen to this song from Switchfoot from their new album. The first time I heard it, I go, it sounds like an Apple commercial. 100%. Within two seconds. Now introducing the new 4G. Doesn't that sound like ours? Yes. When we first got the idea for it, we thought, this would be a perfect product, but it'll revolutionize wireless. Let's see what else. Jerry Lee Lewis? Honestly, he's still alive? The killer, listen to him. It's called Mean Old Man. Oh, wow. He's got to put his teeth in, though, dude. You can't just...
All the way in. Oh my gosh, you're right, man. Legend. Oh my gosh. For real, Woods? Yeah, dude. You're in on that? Yes, it's Jerry Lee List the killer, bro. Do you just say things that sound cool, or do you really mean it? I mean it. I'm going to ask you guys a question. What? That's the killer. I know you're going to make fun of me. What? That's a different guy that does Jerry's kids, right? Oh my. Right? That's Jerry Lewis? What if it isn't? Why don't we just say, Woods, why don't we just go, no. That's the guy that does Jerry's kids. Woods! Don't walk away and hide your face. Why don't we say, yes, that's the guy that puts the telethon on every year. No, but that guy's name is Jerry Lewis. He was a comedian when he was younger. And then there's Jerry Lee Lewis. Seeker slash comedian. Hey, lady! Wait a minute. You're telling me that that's not the Nutty Professor? That is totally the Nutty Professor. I don't know. I've never seen Jerry Lewis. I've heard of Jerry Lee Lewis, and I've heard the music before. He sung with Dean Martin, right? All the time. That's my favorite one she's ever done. I knew it was going to be wrong. I knew it was going to be wrong. Hey, I'm just saying.
That's my favorite one yet. 100%. It's not one. I didn't slip up. I knew it was wrong. That last 60 seconds of radio will live inside my heart. Oh my gosh. I'm just saying, what did Jerry's kids do? It was like somebody just poured hot water all over me. It feels so good. It's like taking a shower. What did that guy do before he did the telethon? That guy worked with kids. No, no, no. Before the telethon. Before the telethon, he played... piano with his feet. Oh, I never saw that. He was an actor, comedian. She's phenomenal. That's the best. You can't script that. You can't script that. I'm not the first person to ask that. You guys are going to call me dumb. You are literally the first person. First person. In the history of the United Kingdom, in the history of the Soviet Union. I wish Sienna was here. America. Sienna would have no idea. Sienna would back me up. I've never heard of him either. Ponce de Leon just came back to life and went, she is the first human. You guys are all fossils that listen to Jerry Lee Lewis and watch Jerry Lewis movies. Yes. Whatever. Hey, guys.
Crazy question here. Is Jerry Lee Lewis the guy that does Jerry's kids? I didn't say that. I said they're different guys, right? Which is essentially saying... I just wanted clarification on what the other clown did. Besides play piano with his feet or whatever. Guys, he did rock and roll hoochie coo and worked for MS, right? I don't know what... That was actually Rick Derrick. Didn't he come up with a rockin' pneumonia? Great balls of fire. Great balls of fire. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's Jerry Lee Lewis. That's Jerry Lee Lewis. Guys, crazy question. Did Jerry Lee Lewis have great balls of fire? Yeah, they were huge. Or did he do the Nutty Professor and was loved by the French? I saw the Nutty Professor with Eddie Murphy. Okay. Guys, was Jerry Lee Lewis and Eddie Murphy? The same person. It's not my fault you guys are old and know the answers to this. That was mine. I didn't know either, Lauren. Mark this for best of. Mark this for a punch in your face. Mark that for knuckles. Mark that for knuckles. This is Robin's new album. It's called Body Talk Part 2. Do you think Katy Perry is having any influence on the United States of America?
That's freaking terrible. It's awful. It sounds like a Casio keyboard. I liked it better the first time when it was called Berlin or Missing Persons. Oh, yeah. How good is Missing Persons? It's great. You know that? You guys know Missing Persons? Oh, yeah. Destination. I bet all you old guys do. That's the set tape I ever had in the car. Those are the guys that did California Girls, right? Great Balls of Fire soundtrack. Missing Persons. Did they find a cure for polio or were they a band in the 80s? I'm just asking. I'm just saying I know the answer. I'm just going to ask. I know the answer. I'm asking. Hey, what happened to there's no such thing as a stupid question? There's no such thing as a stupid question. Missing persons. So good. Never heard this moment. Oh, really? This is what Katy Perry does. Yeah. This is from the 80s. Doesn't that sound like Katy Perry? Yeah. Yeah, for sure. But I just still haven't heard it. You guys remember this one by Missing Persons? Destination. This one I know. It's a jam. Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah. I got my body. Let's see. I got one more. Stone Sour. Audio Secrecy. What's the problem? I hate that guy's voice. Sounds like Nickelback Creed. Yes, and I hate the name of it. Hinder.
You don't like Stone Sour? Stone Sour is a drink and it's awful. It is? Yes. Amaretto Stone Sour. That's what these people used to order. Okay, this sounds like the guy who sings more of these things than not Lafayette. That's Dave Grohl. Oh, never mind. That doesn't sound like Dave Grohl. It does. No, it does not. That part does. Yeah. I'm on a roll. It's the cinnamon bun. You are. She's crashing from the cinnamon bun. We got any more of that over there? Let me mainline her. Yeah. Maybe I'll get some frosting. Oh, boy. L.O.B., I'm going to turn these microphones off, and I'm going to say, I'm not kidding. That was my favorite one you've ever done. What a F. It wasn't even one. I'm tired. Oh, my gosh. She's having a sugar crash. You know what I love about it? It's one of those deals where you'll say, you'll hear people later in the day go, Did you hear L.O.B.? Jerry Lee Lewis telethon. It's a Jerry Lee Lewis telethon. Welcome to the Jerry Lee Lewis telethon, everyone. You guys are so old that that's funny to you. Today we're raising money for seniors to sing Great Balls of Fire. Death by Vuvuzuela. I don't even know the story. I got to figure it out and then I'll tell you when we come back because I know it's possible. You can die by Vuvuzuela. I'll tell you right after this.
I was just telling Woodsy that I was watching Survivor Man. And this guy, I've talked to him before. I've interviewed him before. He goes out for a week to the wilderness. And he just takes two video cameras. He doesn't get anything. No crew or whatever. It's just him and the cameras. And he has to live out there. So he's got to find food, find stuff to drink, that kind of deal. Goes out to the Kalahari Desert. And he drives a Jeep out there until the Jeep runs out of gas. And once it runs out of gas, it stops, and then he's got to survive. Goes out there. Kalahari Desert is 135 degrees. It's so horrible. And he's got a cold. Dude. And he almost called in the helicopters to get him out of there. No thanks, pal. And he didn't. I don't have that much reserve in the tank. Oh, I said.
There is no, it was 100% positive I would have called in the people to get me out of there. You know why? All I would have done is imagined what it would feel like to be getting into cold sheets. Yeah. That's all I imagined. With an ice cold DP or something. Yeah, and I was like, everyone will understand. Yeah, they'll get it. And he didn't. He muscled through it, and that was day two. He stayed out there five more days. Crazy. And the Bushman had given him a giant ostrich egg and he wouldn't eat it. He was waiting until the very last minute to eat it. He wanted to try to survive on whatever he could. So he ate scorpions. He ate everything he could possibly eat until he had to get to this ostrich egg. He was able to make fire and he stuck this ostrich egg on the fire and he hard boiled it and cracked the top of it. And he ate this ostrich egg and he said it was the greatest tasting thing. Greatest. Ew. Oh, he was so hungry. He was so hungry. And when he ate it, it was like the greatest thing that he'd ever tasted. What did he boil it in? He just stuck the ostrich egg on top of the hot coals. And it boiled and cooked it. And it boiled and cooked it. Holy cow. I've been watching this show called Dual Survivor. It's got the guy that's barefoot and then the other guy that's like a marine. And they go out. And this guy's walking around barefoot out in the snow. He's been barefoot like.
For 20 years, 25 years. Oh, I saw. I did see that. Yeah, it's a great show. Is the guy, like, he's all into, like, Indian and Native American and stuff like that. He will hug a tree like nobody's business. Oh, yeah. Literally? He's been barefoot 20 years. Shows you the bottom of his feet. They look like anvils. He's walking around on snow. He walked through a whole swamp. I mean, alligators and snakes are everywhere, and he's barefoot. I'm thinking, you're out of your gorge. No, thank you. Another good show that's out right now, Swamp Men. Swamp People, sorry. They go hunt alligators. It's fantastic. You know what else is good? That would make you cry, wouldn't it? Playoff baseball. Yeah. That would make me cry. Playoff pennant races in baseball is pretty exciting. Does a pennant race just mean the National League West? Is that all that means? No. If you win the pennant, you win the National League or the American League. Yeah. Okay? So there's three divisions, the National, three, and the American. And so all the American League teams are going for the pennant. All the National League teams are going for the pennant.
The National League pennant. Yeah, the National League pennant. The two pennant winners meet in the World Series. Okay. And then the Yankees win the World Series, so that's how that goes. In football, they call that division champions? Yeah, division champions. I wonder why they do that so different in sports. I love the pennant. Pennant races are the best. Is that what we're in now? Yes, we're in a pennant race. Yeah, I like to watch guys hunting alligators. I know you do. I find it fascinating. I even said to Woods the other day, I said, You're standing in my kitchen. And I go, don't you find people that live lives 180 degrees from yours interesting? And he goes, no. No. I go, you're telling me that to watch people that for a living hunt alligators. No. That wear overalls and nothing underneath it. Bunch of hay seeds pulling catfish out of them.
The river doesn't do anything for me, man. Oh, man. I can't get enough. I'd ever see a guy hit a 98-mile-an-hour fastball up the middle. Really? Yeah. And if I had to pick one of the two, I'd pick the alligator. Me too. I know you would. I'd pick the alligator. You guys are all clowns. It doesn't mean that I don't like baseball, because I do. I do. You get it, though. You've seen it. Yeah, you know. You played it. You lived it. What? No, and no, and no. I've never seen, dude. I've never seen. I've never seen hayseeds on a tin boat getting alligators with hooks. Never seen that. Care less. Going, I don't know if it's 400 pounds or 700 pounds. Maybe it's because I grew up in Texas. I'm kind of over it. Oh, man, not me. Hillbillies. All in on that. Hey, real quick, one of my favorite M1s, Eric Terman. Yeah. It's his birthday today. He calls himself my only black friend, but that's not true. That's not true, isn't it? He is funny. He's freaking hysterical, dude. He is hilarious. He's my man. So happy birthday, brother. Happy birthday. All right, so I got to get this out there about the vuvuzuela. This is how you can die from a vuvuzuela. If you were to blow on a vuvuzuela for as long as some of these people do, 90 minutes of that? I'm the worst vuvuzuela blower in the world. 90 minutes?
A lot of them do, those soccer matches. Yeah, they don't stop. Increases the pressure on your blood vessels. Holy crap. They can kill you. They give you an aneurysm. Yeah. Oh my gosh. Those are annoying. Hey, look what's on the TV. Orangutan. It's an orangutan. How do you say it, Hilary? Do you say orangutan or orangutan? Or do you pronounce it correctly? Orangutan. Oh, gosh. Serangutan. There's no G. I know. But that's how you say it. No, it's not. It's silent G. An invisible G, not silent. For sure. An invisible G. Yeah, it's an invisible G. Let's see. What do you got coming up, Hillary? Well, I want to suggest a movie, Mikey, that you'd probably dig. It's really hard to find, though. What? And I saw it in Austin, actually, friends of mine, called Okie Noodling. Have you heard of that? Is that Getting Catfish? Yes. It's a documentary. I'm in. It is so. And the soundtrack. That's different. Well, listen. And the soundtrack is by Flaming Lips. How do I get that? How do I get that? It's so hard. It's friends of ours who lived in Austin because it's like a southern filmmaker. This tiny little release. I don't know. Google it. Okie Noodling. He'll find it. It is so interesting. It's insane. I've seen Noodling on YouTube. It's an awesome movie. Now that.
It's a little different. Noodling is catching catfish barehanded. It makes your skin crawl. Go to YouTube. It's all about the culture of noodling in the South and the contests. There's contests and it is awesome. Those are hardcore dudes. And Flaming Lips soundtrack. That's pretty cool. Would you? No. Answer's already no. Jay, would you? Sure. Noodle? We used to do that kind of thing, looking for turtles and everything, where you kind of put your hand in the swampy creek along the edge there and try to catch them. Dude, noodling. See, people don't understand. Catfish, catfish are not what you think. They're not these little eight-inch fish. They're like four feet long. And their mouths are huge, and these guys come up with bloody arms and stuff. These catfish could swallow a pumpkin whole. Oh, yeah. And they put their hands and their whole forearm into its mouth, and it clamps down and bleeds. Yeah. And they grab onto it, and they pull it out of the water. It's on their arm. It's crazy. And they're, like, reaching around under the tree roots in the swamp. Yeah, it's getting scary. I mean, they're nervous. Have you done it? Have you done it? For catfish? Yeah. No, we did it for snapping turtles and that kind of thing. Dude, get it. Oh, yeah. What if we had a bathtub and we put some catfish in it? You think Jay would noodle one? I would cut noodle.
I'm thinking if I would noodle one if it was in a bathtub. Would you really? If it was in a bathtub because it wouldn't be. Dude, some of these are as big as a bathtub. The spikes on the side of them are poisonous. I mean, I had a buddy get hit in the knee and he had knee problems for two years. He had put a leg in a cast because it affected the nerves and everything. They're bad news for sure. No thanks. I've watched every show on noodling you could possibly imagine. Weird. I'm a Discovery Channel junkie. You are. You love it. I love Discovery. It's my two favorite channels. Discovery and National Geographic. To each his own. Mm-hmm. Yeah, Woodsy likes girls and sports. And movies about the mafia. Yeah. And The Sopranos. And The Sopranos. That's about it. A man of simple means. He likes that stuff. All right, Hillary? Okay, yeah. Okay, so. Besides the noodling documentary, what do you got? Well, you guys were talking about Jimmy Eat World while I was taking a shower, so I grabbed their new record. Sweet. Also grabbed new Interpol, a very old Jimi Hendrix song, because really, are there any other kind? Switchfoot, Mumford & Sons, it'll be good. Nice. Good set. Lovely and talented Hillary's up next. So we will come back here tomorrow at 6, do it all over again. Mikey shows up late.
