Mikey's biggest story was his humiliating Facebook mix-up: he mistook a church acquaintance called Joe Thompson for a former transgender coworker, questioned him about transition and sexuality, and learned that fiancée Anthony was a woman; Joe and Anthony laughed and accepted the apology. Mikey, Woods, Lauren O'Brien and Jay also broke down the Chargers' turnovers, Floyd Mayweather's knockout of Victor Ortiz, the deadly Reno air-race crash and George Lindell's unforgettable eyewitness narration. The sharpest argument came when Woods said Michael Vick's dogfighting past made him enjoy seeing Vick injured, while Mikey insisted that punishment and apparent reform deserve the benefit of the doubt. Lighter bits included Jay's 'Crap Dad' parody and terrible impressions, Woods improvising through an unexpectedly long gig, Lauren crushing easy NFL trivia, a discussion of vaguebooking relationship fights and a sprawling debate about what qualifies as a sport.

What happened, in order

  1. Chargers Turn It Over

Woods and Mikey blamed red-zone turnovers, Mike Tolbert's costly fumble and Norv Turner's failed fourth-down gamble for the Chargers' 35-21 loss to New England.

  2. Mayweather's Legal Sucker Punch

The crew replayed Floyd Mayweather knocking out Victor Ortiz while Ortiz was apologizing for a headbutt, then marveled at Mayweather's furious confrontation with Larry Merchant.

  3. Woods Plays Through It

A sick Woods described drinking honey onstage and improvising an extra hour of songs with Ryan Honeycutt after they accidentally reached their planned finale too early.

  4. Reno Air-Race Crash

Mikey and Woods discussed the Reno air-race disaster that killed nine people and questioned whether danger is part of what attracts crowds to air shows and auto racing.

  5. Reality Hits You Hard

The hosts delighted in George Lindell's sound-effect-filled eyewitness account of a crash, fallen power lines and electrical arcs, especially his line, “Reality hits you hard, bro.”

  6. Painfully Easy NFL Trivia

Lauren O'Brien dominated Mikey Morning Quarterback while Jay confidently named T.O. as a Carolina Panther and confused Chargers owner Alex Spanos with general manager A.J. Smith.

  7. Vaguebooking a Fight

The crew and callers compared cryptic Facebook relationship posts, 'it's complicated' changes and subtweets, with one caller admitting she posts insults from her boyfriend's own account.

  8. The Wrong Joe Thompson

Mikey mistook a church acquaintance called Joe Thompson for a former coworker who had transitioned and sent an intensely personal birthday message before Joe and his fiancée Anthony laughingly corrected him.

  9. Crap Dad

Jay unveiled 'Crap Dad,' a venomously funny Michael Jackson parody attacking Mikey's parenting, appetite and sex appeal, and the room immediately wanted it replayed.

  10. Can Michael Vick Be Forgiven?

Woods admitted enjoying seeing Michael Vick hurt because of Vick's dogfighting past, while Mikey argued that prison, reform and redemption should earn a person the benefit of the doubt.

  11. Jay's Imaginations

Jay improvised disastrous impressions of Elton John, a Minnesota football coach and Julie Andrews, repeatedly drifting into Hannibal Lecter, Manhattan and nonsense.

  12. What Counts as a Sport?

The hosts and callers argued over whether NASCAR, golf, running, dance, surfing, chess and competitive eating qualify as sports by requiring exertion, skill and competition.
