Mikey asks call screener Chris what its like to be “Chriiiiaaaaas” and Woods reveals that Jamie is not a fan of the bit. After two straight months being trapped underground, the Chilean Miners are being freed one at a time with their supervisor deciding to be a man’s man and be the last one up. Captain Buzzkill calls in early, upset with another Cat Crack drop and question’s LOB’s love for black dudes. CBK can’t say enough about Jagger & Kristi and he even reveals his favorite Mikey Show cast member! Do you know who it was? Conan O’Brien’s commercial has him ranting about Steve Woods stealing his sweetheart! A boy who cries over the Chargers’ loss to Oakland video is next and begs the question; have you ever cried over a sport? WoS has the scoop on the MLB league championships, the NFL commish’s take on Brett Favre’s crank, and Norv Turner’s reason for the season. LOB is convinced she has either bedbugs snacking on her legs or a flesh eating bacteria. Deborah Norville stops by the studio and talks about her early career leading up to Inside Edition. Deborah inspires the writer in Mikey with her work ethic. Asian Journey brings us back from the 7:30am break and the new young singer wonders why the band gets a better hotel than he does! Jay admits his man crush on Steve Perry. News of the impact a passed Prop 19 would have on the gang cartels says little would change. (Who paid for the study? A pharmaceutical company?) The crying Charger kid audio gets the gang to talking about what and why do kids complain about not having things they never pay for. Luke calls in to explain his diet of girls, junk food, and cigs. The Union-Tribune’s “Sports Chick” Annie returns and talks about Raider fans swarming her at the game. Annie then breaks down what’s wrong with the Bolts and why she is still single. The real 911 call of Bob Barker’s collapse at a L.A. gun range leads to stupid people and their ridiculous Price is Right bids. M1 Kevin from Tuesday’s show calls back with his indecisive girlfriend Brooke who claims she doesn’t want to rush into marriage because her parents had divorced. Brooke does not find Woodsy’s jokes amusing, but the rest of us do. Mikey sings an acoustic ballad for poor Kevin and then wishes he could turn Jay’s mic off as the creeper comments fly! LOB makes Woods uncomfortable while dancing at him during Cat Crack. Rob Zombie admits directing CSI Miami was no fun and actor David Caruso was tough to work with. Red-headed Caruso jokes ensue. The Kid reacts to a story about an angry DJ who had his parking space taken and a role-play is needed to iron things out. So long Sean Merriman.

Mike Esparza, Steve Woods, Lauren O'Brien, and Jay Isbell mixed coverage of the Chilean miners' rescue and a Chargers fan's viral meltdown with comic riffs about Conan O'Brien, Bob Barker, and a swaggering fake-baby persona. Debra Norville described nearly quitting a Today Show fill-in after trying to read every prep packet, until producer Steve Friedman told her to study only the one subject she did not know. Kevin and Brooke confronted their stalled proposal live: Brooke said divorce in her family and Kevin's earlier breach of trust made her cautious, while Mike argued that six days of silence after three years together was a reason for Kevin to leave; Kevin said a rejection would end the relationship. The cast also discussed Josh Hamilton's alcohol-free celebration, Christine O'Donnell's use of an Antoine Dodson-style reference, Rob Zombie's complaints about directing David Caruso, and whether a morning host had any right to humiliate Krause over a parking space.
What happened, in order
Miners return to daylight
The hosts followed the Chilean miner rescue live, celebrating Florencio Avalos and Mario Sepulveda and praising shift supervisor Luis Alberto Iribarren for volunteering to come out last.
Captain Buzzkill calls in
The combative regular caller Captain Buzzkill accused the show of trivializing the miner rescue, then sparred with the cast over its games, gossip, and supposedly mindless chatter.
Conan says Steve Woods
Steve Woods was stunned that Conan O'Brien used his exact name in a nationally aired blimp promo, prompting the cast to joke that Conan must secretly listen to the show.
Chargers kid melts down
The crew repeatedly played and dissected a viral clip of a teenage Chargers fan crying, shouting at his mother, and nearly vomiting after the loss to Oakland.
Ginger ale celebration
Josh Hamilton avoided the Rangers' champagne celebration because he was a recovering alcoholic, so his teammates brought the celebration to him and drenched him with ginger ale instead.
Norville reads everything
Debra Norville recalled getting almost no sleep while reading every Today Show briefing packet until producer Steve Friedman told her to prepare deeply only for the interview topic she did not already understand.
The swaggering baby
The cast voiced Mike Esparza's 13-month-old son Luke as a scotch-drinking, nightclub-going Facebook operator with hundreds of friends and an implausible friendship with Reggie Bush.
Bob Barker at the range
After playing the 911 call about Bob Barker collapsing at a gun range, the hosts improvised a long run of Price Is Right jokes and absurd first-aid instructions.
The unanswered proposal
Kevin and Brooke discussed his six-day-old unanswered proposal live, with Brooke citing fear of divorce and an earlier breach of trust while Kevin said a final rejection would probably end their relationship.
Politics borrows a meme
The hosts compared Christine O'Donnell's campaign-ad language to Antoine Dodson's viral 'hide your kids' interview and argued that a politician was taking a risky shortcut to appeal to the YouTube generation.
Directing David Caruso
Rob Zombie described directing CSI: Miami as an exhausting ordeal, leading the crew to debate whether David Caruso was a talented actor, an overactor, or an impossible prima donna.
Move your car
An unnamed morning host demanded overnight DJ Krause's keys, tossed them back, and ordered him out of a parking space, sparking a debate over legitimate parking rights versus needless humiliation.

We got the gold. We need to do the gold. Let's give you some gold. Here is the phone number if you want to call us. 570-1949. If you want to text us, you can do that too. 949mikey at gmail.com. It's the Mikey Show. I'm Mikey. That's Woodsy. That's Lauren O'Brien. Sienna's not here. She's out on maternity leave. Jay is here. He's wearing his FM 94.9 work shirt today. I like it. It's a mechanic. Get the work done. That's right. And screening phones for us this morning. That's crap. That's crap. Mrs. Woods is not a fan of that bit. Really? She goes, I hate it when you do that. I think just me. Because I go, it's crap. So I told her I'm going to give her an extra real good one today. Really? Yeah. How come she hates it? What is it about it? She's clownish, I guess. I don't know.
She doesn't say why? She doesn't go because it's annoying? Yeah, she's like, it gets on my nerves. I'm like, I don't care. I love it. I do it at home. Scraw! It's evolved. It's evolved. Chris, come here. Come here, Chris. Scraw. Screen the phone calls in a second. You can call Chris, but he's coming in here for a minute. 570-194-9 if you want to call us. Scraw! So, do people, your friends, people in general, do they say to you, it's cross? Some of them, the people that listen to the show. Really? They know and every once in a while you'll get. I answer the phone and they'll be like, it's cross. I can't even do it. It's great. I love that. It's cross. People will call and just say, it's cross. They write it on my Facebook. It's C-H-R-I-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-S. I'm like,
That's awesome. Thank you, Cross. Man, we got a show today. We got a big show today. We have the host of Inside Edition, Debra Norville, in studio with us today. Yesterday, we got a call from Kevin, and he was calling about his girlfriend, who he proposed to, and Both of them are coming on the show today. Here's what happened. M1 Kevin from El Cajon has a bad story about proposing. So what happened?
I'll think about it. Dude! That's gorgeous. I'm like, so I'm like, where am I going? I'm in the middle of this restaurant on my knee with the ring out, and she's thinking about it. Holy cow. Are people looking at you guys? It's a little awkward, because, I mean, it's like five days old. The situation, it's kind of come up, but like I said, she danced around it. And so it's just like... I don't know if I should go and approach like I always do or if it's like stand back. So that's what happened yesterday. And her name is Brooke. And they're both going to come on. It's huge. They're both going to come on. She agreed. I can't either. I know. They're both coming on at 830. And Annie the sports chick will be in. Yeah. It's no secret. Annie is gorgeous. She's very. Attractive young lady. Yeah. She works for the San Diego Union Tribune. Yes. With Kevin Acey from the Tribune. And if we haven't mentioned it, she's gorgeous. She goes on all the road trips with the Chargers and stuff. She's got the inside dish. There you go. Dish. So when she comes in, we'll have crowds. It's crowds. In here.
Taking pictures just like he normally does. Yeah. Not to be creepy or anything. No. He always does when we have guests. Clearly. So we will take pictures of our guests. Absolutely. And then you can see them on Facebook and also you can see them on MikeyShow.com. So that's that. How about the fact that 11 of the Chilean miners have been rescued so far? How do you like that? That's awesome. Awesome. 22 left, right? Yes, sir. The first miner being rescued last night. Please. And by the way, Woods, tell everybody about that CNN website and what they're doing there. Yeah. If you go to CNN.com, it's cool. They have a clock up.
shows how long they've been, you know, at it. Then it shows how many have been rescued and how many are left. It's really cool. I watched some of it last night. The live feed and all that. Here's the first one. First person coming out. Applause. Imagine the families as they get to see this happening. Florencio Avalos. That was his name? Yes. Here is the second minor. By the way, that's him leading them in that cheer. Wow, really? Mario Sepulveda. Yeah. Sepulveda. That dude is leading the cheer. How awesome is that? That's rad. 40 years old. They put him on a stretcher. He asked his wife, how's the dog? Are you serious? Would have been my second question. How's the dog? How are the dogs? He came out of the mine shaft just cheering. Fired up. That's awesome. That's pretty cool, right? That's awesome. If you go to CNN, you can see that they do have a little ticker there.
11 rescued, 22 still underground. Now, to give you some perspective on how long these dudes have been down there, they went down on August 13th. That was the day of our meet and greet at the Tipsy Crow. Yes. It's a long time ago. Think about that. Yes. Yeah. That is a long time. Two months. It's unbelievable. Unbelievable. It is a testament to the human spirit. And you guys thought wearing skinny jeans to the meet and greet was bad. Yeah, I guess we shouldn't complain ever. Yeah. Ever. Yeah. Let's see. There is a lot of gay news today. I'm sorry. There's gay news. There's so many stories. You count the stories today. There's like six. Yeah. There really is. The big one, obviously, is that we talked yesterday about Carl Palladino, who's running for governor in New York. Yeah. And he had said some pretty inflammatory stuff. Well, now, of course, he's come out and apologized. And his quote is, I sincerely apologize for any comment that may have offended the gay and lesbian community or their family members.
Any reference to branding an entire community based on a small representation of them is wrong. He said if elected to governor of New York, he will fight for the rights of all New Yorkers. That's good. Yeah. You know, it's funny, too. There's another story about him that came out today that he, Carl Palladino, had some real estate and had some land and some buildings, and he rented two gay nightclubs. Yeah, one of them was called Cobalt, and the other one was called Buddies 2. He rented them? Yeah, he rented to them. Oh, rented to them. I guess it's okay if you're making some cash off of it. Well, wait a minute. I don't think that you, unless their laws in New York are different than our laws, but if you don't rent to somebody in California based on their sexual orientation, it's illegal. But if he knew that they... If it's a business that he was like, I don't know if I want that in the neighborhood. You can still pick and choose. They present their plans to you and then you pick. Businesses are different than residential. Cobalt, which operated as a gay bar in 2004 and most of 2005, was run by Palladino's son, William. So he knew exactly what he was doing. He knew exactly what was going on there. Wait a minute. His son ran the club? Yeah, ran the building and the club and the whole thing. Is his son gay? I don't think so.
He's a real good kisser, though. Yeah, building manager. Oh. So, I mean, it's cool if you're making some jack off of it. It's not a big deal. Right, right. Yeah, it's fine. I made money. They're paying my nut every month. I'm cool. I'm good. Wow. That's great. In other gay news, well, I mean, seriously, the big top headlines today are things that have to do with, you know, either gay legislation or gay stuff. And the other one was the big don't ask, don't tell. Yes. And a judge ordered an injunction on the don't ask, don't tell policy of the military, which is that the policy used to be that you don't outwardly let people know that you're gay. You just don't talk about it and people don't have the right to ask you about it. Yeah, what it says here is it prohibits the military from asking about the sexual orientation of service members, but bans those who are openly gay. Under the 1993 policy, servicemen and women who acknowledge being gay or are discovered engaging in homosexual activity, even in the privacy of their own homes, off base.
are subject to discharge. And this federal judge yesterday is Judge Virginia Phillips, judge that this is unconstitutional, and gays and lesbians in the military are fighting and dying for our country. So they issued the injunction. Now, U.S. Department of Justice attorneys have 60 days to appeal, but legal experts say they're under no legal obligation to do it. So the ruling may stand. Yeah. That's good. That's really good. Finally. There you go. 570-1949 is our number. You can also text us. The text is 949mikey at gmail.com. They're showing footage of guys coming out right now of the Chilean mine. They look good, man. They look good considering where they've been. It's crazy. It's insane. Let me tell you, these guys obviously. they have to have on these super dark glasses. Yeah, the sun. Super dark glasses. I can't even imagine. A hug from the president. The Chilean president has been there, and you can see, obviously...
since last night and the miners usually either go from their families then to hug the president or sometimes i've seen them hug the president first as well i guess you're just like i'll get anybody anybody but he's looking pretty good there he was apparently ryan responsible for um keeping the miners upbeat yeah that was so important underground you see him right there hugging all the different rescuers there he was also running up to 10 kilometers a day down in that mine. It was a small spot in one area, but there was also a pathway where you could run back and forth. That was so critical to this effort because they had to stay in good physical shape. But Robin, those sing-alongs, all of that helps with the psychological aspect of being in that hole. I've talked to experts about this, and they said what's so important is keeping the positive mindset. And that also prepares you for when you're going up through that hole. They're even saying now that when the miners are coming out, one of the biggest things long-term to watch out for is going to be the psychological effect. effects you've been through trauma you've been through extreme trauma and they've got to make sure those guys are okay but this is such a miracle to see these guys coming out when all the different things could have gone wrong it could have gotten stuck someone could have gotten out of the water yet you know let's let's not go i just can't you know what i'm wondering is is just what goes through your mind as you're coming back up in that tube it's a 30 minute ride is what they're saying are you serious yeah it's not a quick process 30 minutes i read this this morning i got
Misty-eyed reading this. The last to come out will be Luis Alberto Iribarren, 54. Like the captain of a sinking ship, the shift supervisor volunteered to stay behind until all his men were safe. Wow. Dude. Oh. You know what that is? It's called a real man right there. Sure. Sure. Just awesome, man. Did you read the story about the 63-year-old man that was down there? He was 63, been mining since he was 13. He's the one that said, I'm never going under again. He goes, I'm never going under again. That was it for me. Maybe it's time. Maybe it's time to just hang him up. I quit this bitch. Hang up the mining stuff. Trying to stay in shape, I guess. Oh my gosh. Kid would have been weeping in a corner somewhere. I know it. 570-1949 is a number. And, man, I'm so happy about what happened. It's amazing, man. And somebody likened it to the fact of, you know, years ago we saw somebody walk on the moon. Now we're seeing men come out of the earth. And it's just as powerful. Let's celebrate this moment with another happy moment. Oh, yeah. Oh, I thought I accidentally deleted that. Really? This early?
It's early. It's 6.15. I mean, what are you doing awake? You don't usually call. No, I haven't. Maybe I have. No, I'm not tired. No, that's not why. The reason I'm not tired is because I have been inspired by watching live coverage of the Chilean Rescue. So have we. Wasn't it beautiful footage? Yeah, it was. Except for the fact that Mikey just interrupted a really incredible moment. With cat crack? With cat crack, which is something that I will be reporting to PETA. Did you write a letter to Rick R. Jackson yet? Are you mocking me? No, I was just asking. I saw Rick in the hallway after our show yesterday. He said he hasn't gotten any of your letters. That's not true. That's what he said. He hasn't gotten any. I don't believe it.
He said that. He did. We talked to him. He's my boss. Are you putting stamps on him? I think you're just saying that, though. I said, oh, hey. You're trying to hurt me. He said, oh, what did he call you? Captain. He didn't call you Captain Buzzkill. Fat Man's Delight. What? No. Chubbs McGee? Captain Lowbrow. Captain something or other. Captain Game Boy. Killjoy. That's what it was. Captain Killjoy. You're making that up. No, he said that. He's so exasperated. Why can't he hang up the phone? He needs to go to bed. He's really grouchy and grumpy. I bet you're still there. We are. You're like a stalker. We can't hang up. You're like a stalker. You called us. The reason I called you is because I want the entire world to see you for what you are. What's that? People that don't care about Chilean miners. We love the Chilean miners. I was up late last night watching it. I should have been in bed.
You should have been in bed and playing Halo until now. I really went up texting fake African-American men that you supposedly liked. No, I wasn't. You're getting a little personal there. Why would I fake text somebody? How do you fake text somebody? Something that CBK would do. She says that she liked African-American men, yet there's no proof of it. Are you saying she's a racist? No. I'm saying that she's trying to... Perpetuate? No, she's trying to brown nose the African American community. Why did you say brown nose? Yeah, you shouldn't use brown. I bet he's still there. I bet he's there listening. Yes, you are. What are you doing? Why do we hear you? Are you on narcotics? Are you going to come to our next meet and greet whenever we have it? Yes, you will. Yes, you will.
I like your Facebook page. You look really foxy. You like my Facebook page? Uh-huh. Are you talking about Captain Buzzkill with a K? Yes. We're friends. Friendly. I'm talking to the four people listening. You know what I think is so interesting about your show and your supposed M1s? What? How every morning Mikey says, Open phones. You always tie up our phone lines. That's your fault. You should be. Because without me, you would have exactly zero phone calls. He actually has a pretty good point. You call us from your landline, your cell phone, your Skype account. I have, and I don't have to. It's my First Amendment right. It is. Keep calling. We love it. You can write what you want. You can post what you want. You know what else you can do? What?
You can listen to whatever the hell you want to. Check it out. I bet other morning shows wouldn't put him through all the time. Jada and Christy would put me through. Oh, yeah? Yeah, they would. How many times have you? They hate you. They don't hate you. I talk to them. I go to every single thing that they do. They think you're a joke. They do not. Yes, they told me. I'm in the business. They think you're a joke. That's not true. Yeah, go make some crafts. Go ahead. Am I right? Go ahead. I've written him already. Have you? He hasn't gotten any of them. You're sitting in the wrong place. I'm going to start a Facebook page called Get Mikey Off the Radio. Too late. Yeah, it's already been started. There's like four of them, so take your pick. Apparently there's the same number of sites as there are listeners. I cannot stand your radio show. I love it. Who's your favorite character? Is it Tom Tom?
Neil. Is it Dave Matthews? My favorite character on the show, by default, is Jay because he talks the least. Actually, my favorite is Chris for two reasons. He puts me on the radio. And secondly, he talks the least. You know who my least favorite characters are? Everyone that talks on this. show about mindless blather. That's all of us. That's all of you. Well, first of all, we don't talk about mindless blather. We just talked about... Let's just review the topic. Let's review it. You ready? Chilean minors. Okay. Okay. Don't ask, don't tell. That's good. Okay. The gubernatorial candidate in New York. Okay. What else? What else should we talk about?
How about all those stupid things that you guys do every single day? Like? Like, why don't you talk about those stupid games that you play? We love to play those games. They're for fun. They're for the listeners. And it wins our listeners' prizes. I don't want to talk about crafts. You'd be really boring over the radio. I'm not a 60-year-old woman. Autumn coming. We did. We did. And talk about. What else? What else do you want to hear? If you had a show. If you had our show, what would you talk about? If I had a show, first of all, I would spend a little bit more time on gaming than you do. Me too. I would talk about what's hot in the PC world. I would talk about new graphics cards that are coming out. I would talk about Inspirion getting ready to release their fourth edition. Wow. I'd like to see how your ratings were after that. Yeah, no kidding. You'd probably be number one. Probably not. Let me tell you something else. I would talk about... Macworld. Have you ever seen that magazine? Yes. Maybe you invest in it. I don't need to. We should hang up on Captain Buzzkill. What about when we talk about Warren Zevon? Frank Zappa? All your favorites? I like Warren Zevon. Of course you do. I like Frank Zappa. Of course you do. They're inspirational. Are they? You worked him up. I always do. He's easy. You got him really worked up. I also proved him wrong. We don't talk about just inane blather.
Don't we? You know that Roger Goodell broke his silence. He's speaking out about Brett Favre and the controversy. If you're the commissioner of football, how do you talk about somebody that took pictures of their private parts? How do you do that? Well, you'll hear it for yourself. Plus, we got audio from North Turner. You sure do. Deborah Norville. is coming in the studio at 7.15. The word of the day is discombobulated. So when you hear that word between now and 10, call her nine, four-pack of SeaWorld tickets. Come back with all of it next. The word of the day today is discombobulated. Yeah. Did I tell you about this? This is the craziest thing. Oh, by the way, don't forget Debra Norville, who's on Inside Edition. She's going to be in the studio.
So is Annie the sports girl from the Union Tribune. She's gorgeous. And the fellas like her. And she's going to be on. And the ladies like her too. But the fellas like her because she's very pretty. And we're going to be telling you about Roger Goodell in just a second. A couple of things. One, found out that Andy Richter is going to be on Conan's new show. Oh, good. Yeah. So they're reunited and it feels so good. It feels so good. But I don't know if we talked about this. This is the craziest thing. So Conan O'Brien has this commercial slash promo on the air where he's flying in a blimp and promoting his new show. And listen what he says at the end of the commercial. Forget the playoff game. There she is.
So funny. I almost fell off my couch. So funny. How did we not spin that and be like, so we got Conan to do this thing for the show. Yeah, exactly. M1HB sent it to me. She's like, do you have something to tell us? And I'm like, what is this? What is this? Every time I get a video, I'm always like, You're a little skeptical if it's even like spam. Yeah. And I open it. I'm like, great, Conan. Great, great. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. What? And then I go, you know what? It's a bit. It's a bit where you can type your name in and they say your name. Yeah. Not a bit. It's not. I had people in Texas watching the playoffs writing me going, dude, did you see the thing with your name on it? Steve Woods. That is cool. All the names in the world you can pick. Steve Woods. Now I want to get Conan on the air and be like.
Obviously. You listen. Yeah. Obviously, you're a fan of the kid. The kid. For sure. That's pretty crazy. And I never did, for the record, date a Cassie Lundquist, whatever her name is. Cassie Lundquist. As far as I know. As far as you know. So many women for a little time. Ever just forget girls you've known? Yeah, for sure. Known. Most of them. Finger quotes, known. Most of them. You forget all of them, right? Once you get married, you forget them all. There's one woman for me. Her name is Jamie Denise Honeycutt Woods. So sweet. She just rolled her eyes. So have you heard about the charger kid crying? Woods has, I guess. I have. Pretty viral video on YouTube right now. Really? Chargers lost to the Raiders, and the kid got upset about it. And his mom broke out the little flip minnow. Decided to take a little video. I'm on to Oakland. He almost vomits? He almost vomits. Get away! Get out of here! I'm trying to watch the damn game!
Mom, it's not over yet. Get out of here. He tries to throw a pillow up the stairs. He's in the basement. I feel you. Amazing. That is a fan. It's amazing. You ever cry over a sporting event? Yes. Have you? Yes. What? 49ers-Giants playoff game, 1989. 49ers-Giants. Oh. They lost, I guess, the Niners. Yeah, they lost. The World Series win. 9-11 happened. And it was in New York. And the Yankees were in it against the expansion Arizona Diamondbacks. We came back. I mean, the Yankees had to win it because it was for New York, 9-11. Freaking Luis Gonzalez gets a bloop hit.
off Mariano Rivera and the Diamondbacks win it. And I wept. Wept. Wow. Wept. Like, it's not fair. New York should have won it for the people. Did you go, get out of here, mom. You beat it, mom. I was in college. Or it was right after college. Clowns. We need sad music. Hang on a minute. Sorry we care, Jay. A sport. Yeah, sorry we care. It was more than a sport that year. It was about this country and what it stood for. Jay, you know you cried when they got rid of kombucha. Yeah, but I'm good. I did. All right, let's try it like this. And so it is. Oakland. Oh, my God. I don't have to Oakland. Get away. Get out of here. I'm trying to watch the damn game. Mom, it's not over yet. Get out of here. Oh, no, it's not over. We were in field glory. Oh, my God. Get away, Mom, please. I'm really trying to watch the game. It's beautiful, really, on a lot of levels. Yeah, it is.
How old do you figure he is? 14? Yeah. Oh, yeah. What would your mom have said if you said, Mom, get out of here. I'm trying to watch a damn game. My mom would be like, who are you talking to? Who do you think you're talking to, pal? What, do you want to be a dead man? Yeah. I'm trying to watch the damn game. Excuse me? You ever take a game real serious? Hey, it's week five, kid. You're okay. It ain't a playoff game. I used to. Yell at my mom so bad at my sporting, at my baseball games. Yeah. Because if I would strike out, a kid might sling a helmet, might throw a bat. And from the stands, in front of all the other parents, girlfriends, all the bad. Steven, do not do that. And I'd be like, shut up, mom. And then after the game, I'd be like, sorry. I didn't mean to tell you to shut up. I'd be so mad. She's telling you while you're on the field not to do that. I'm like walking back to the dugout and I like. Slam my helmet down, throw my bat. Stop that. You don't throw your equipment. And I'm like, shut up. You're gassing me. That's fantastic. That is fantastic. 5701949 is the number. Don't forget, in about an hour and a half, we're going to be having Kevin and Brooke on. Kevin called yesterday. He asked this girl to marry him. Now, six days ago.
Yeah. And she did not say anything. She hasn't said anything. She didn't even think about it. Yikes. She needs some time. She didn't even mention it, though. She has trouble communicating. Apparently, so do I. I wonder what her new boyfriend thinks about that. Yeah, I wonder what the guy she says. Oh, stop it. What do you think he says? Mike, do you think her secret lover has an idea that she was potentially almost engaged? Great question. You guys are cynical. Do you think that her other boyfriend is helping her mull the decision over? No, I don't. Do you think that her other boyfriend is helping her to create a list of pros and cons? Brooke would never do that. Never say never a little bit. I don't know. I'm kidding when I say that, but am I? The one thing that I do think about it is that I think it's very odd for somebody to not reference being asked to be married. That is odd. But she seems like, from what I gathered, when I didn't meet her. When I've never spoken to her. When I've never spoken to her. In all the years that I've never known her, I have never known her to do anything that I'm familiar with. She's like, maybe not the best communicator. Alright. Seems weird to me, though. Seems like you would say something. Like, yes. Or...
No. One of those. Not always black and white, gentlemen. No. What's on Sports is brought to you by our friends at Clearview Eye and Laser Medical Center. The Major League Baseball playoffs are set, and they start Friday night. There it is. Cliff Lee was absolutely dominant last night against the Tampa Bay Rays. Guy threw 120 pitches. 90 of them were strikes. Oh. Yeah. That's filthy. Struck out 10. Did not walk a man. I mean, the guy is amazing in the postseason. And now my Yankees get to face him. So also over in the National League, it's going to be the Giants against the Phillies. That series starts on Saturday. Here is Cliff Lee talking about his performance. Cut one. I didn't walk anybody. That was a huge part of it. Obviously, a big part of their game is running the bases and being aggressive on the base path and making things happen with, you know, hitting runs and bunts and stuff like that. So by not walking anybody, it kind of eliminated some of that stuff. That's cool. Yeah, he's a good pitcher, man. And, you know, if you guys remember, the Yankees almost had him at the deadline, and he went to Texas instead, and good move for him. But now we'll see what the guy's got. You hear about Josh Hamilton? Uh-uh. So Josh Hamilton is a recovering alcoholic, and when they win, team is celebrating with the champagne and all that stuff. He didn't want to be doused with champagne. So he was back out on the field. Yeah. You know?
because he just didn't want to be doused in champagne. I knew he did that for the first series. Yeah. And that's what he did last night, too. So his players kind of rallied around him, and they didn't want him to miss out on the experience. They go out there, and they douse him with ginger ale. That's huge, man. Isn't that cool? That's huge, yeah. And, you know, Josh is a guy that I really look up to and really admire. But in order to beat the Yankees, you need to start hitting the ball, and hopefully he doesn't. Also, Roger Goodell said any discipline for Brett Favre is possible. But he wants to do his bit. He's got to gather all the facts. And he said it's premature to give any timetable for when he might make a decision. Here he is talking about the Brett Favre case, cut two. Our staff has been working aggressively on this, gathering all the data. I'll get reports on that and then make some determinations. So I'd be hesitant to say any timing until I had a chance to understand that and make sure we can get all the information. As you know, we're seeking to get cooperation to make sure we understand all those facts. Yeah, he's got some sniffing around to do. A lot of sniffing around. A lot of sniffing around to do. And then also the Chargers will be taking on the Rams in St. Louis this weekend. They were asking Norv kind of about some of the questions he had on this team and maybe why are we two and three? Cut three. You know, I look at our football team and when we started the year, there were so many questions and a lot of you had the questions. You know, how are we going to run the ball? Could we run the ball?
How are we going to get the ball to Gates without being able to spread the field? You know, who was going to be our deep threat? Did Vincent gone? How are we going to manage it? Left tackle, defensively, could Kason play? And I can go on the list. Defensive line, are we going to be physical enough? You know, those things certainly are not the issue in terms of why we're... Where we're at. I think where we're at because part of it is because there's a parking situation at Fashion Valley Mall where there's just not enough parking spaces. You're getting more parking spaces out there because when you think about it, you got, in December, a lot of shoppers there for Christmas and there's not enough spaces. Yeah. That's really a San Diego-wide problem I've found. That's what I've been talking to my players about. It's been tough to find parking for me in a lot of places I go. So I talk to my players and I say, maybe we just figure something out where we can get more parking going. Yeah, probably a good idea. Probably the best thing you could be talking to your players about, North. And then finally, there is a really interesting article coming out in Sports Illustrated. I read some of it yesterday. It's going to be out October 18th. There's this agent that is kind of now the former agent. He's kind of whistleblowing on some things that went down. His name is Josh Lukes.
Used to pay Ryan Leaf, send Ryan Leaf about $500 to $700 a month in hopes that Ryan would sign with him. Ryan did not sign with him. Oh, wow. San Antonio Holmes, Chris Mims, who played here, this guy was kind of the guy for greasing guys under the table. And he names names. I mean, I'm telling you, dude. The guy names names. I'm looking at this right now. Okay, you know Jonathan Ogden, the badass left tackle for the Ravens, 11-time Pro Bowl? Yeah. He wouldn't take money, but he did accept some Janet Jackson concert tickets. Tony Banks, Rob Waldrop, all kinds of names in here, man. There are a ton of players. And this guy is coming out and saying, yeah, these are the guys that I used to pay in hopes that they would sign with me. And this article coming out next week, it could be like the steroid thing in baseball. Really? Truly. It could be that big. You think they'll go back to these dudes? They have already. Some guys have confirmed it and some guys haven't. I know, but are they in the game? Well, what are they going to do now? I mean, the thing is, is it's going to really change the way, I think, college athletes are looked at and college athletes are approached and whatnot. I mean, those guys, I was watching something last weekend in college football. I mean, those guys generate hundreds of millions of dollars.
These agents are coming up, so these guys don't have any money. The agents are coming up and saying, all right, dude, I'll grease you 500 bucks a month. You promised to sign with me on draft day. Right. You know, is that wrong? 12 minors have now been rescued. There's still 21 of them underground. The rescue has been going on now for 11 hours and a half. So they're still working on it to get these guys up. And it's pretty awesome. And so it is. I love the Oakland. Oh, my God. I wonder if he's local. I love the Oakland. Get away. Oh, breathe. Get out of here. I'm trying to watch the damn game. I'm trying to film you. Mom, it's not over yet. Get out of here. Oh, I love the Oakland. It's going to take a couple more minutes. Almost done taping it. Kid likes the Chargers. He's a big Chargers guy, man. And was upset that they lost. Thanks, Mom. Can't take that away from him. No, the guy's a true fan. That's right.
How many of us were that upset this last Sunday? I wasn't. Nope. Can't say I was. I was. Jay, when's the last time you saw a Charger game? 76. Three years ago, and it was because I had to work it. Oh, wow. I had a press credential to get on the field. I have never, and I mean never, met a dude from Texas. That doesn't like football. Until now. I'm pretty much the only one. Do you know that Lauren truly believes that she has bed bugs and she doesn't have bed bugs? She doesn't. I think I've moved on to a new theory. What now do you think it is? It could be fleas. Or it could be like a flesh-eating bacteria. It is not. It is not. It is not a flesh-eating bacteria. Let me see your leg again. Is it still there? It's just scratch marks. It's just scratch marks. That's fleas. That's fleas. I'm going to get you a collar. Yeah, we need to get you a collar, and we're going to take you to the vet. I don't have pets. Yeah, I know, but I bet 98% of San Diego County, even if they don't have pets, has fleas. What? You get them from the beach. No. Get them everywhere. Get them everywhere. You make sure you kill them in your yard, and you'll be fine. My yard? How? You have fleas. You really do. I'm serious. LLB was convinced that she had whooping cough. Yes. She beat it. She beat it. She beat it. She beat it. She beat it.
She is also convinced that she had bed bugs, which we've convinced her now that she does not. Yeah, I flipped my mattress all over, and I washed all the bedding and everything, and I searched with a microscope to see. Oh, wow. I didn't see anything. I don't think I had a bracket. Like a magnifying glass? Yeah. Yeah, didn't find it. I just had it. Doesn't everyone? Sherlock Holmes starter kit. Yeah, she's got a big Sherlock Holmes magnifying glass. A lot of stuff laying around the house. Yeah, most detectives do have a magnifying glass laying around the house. She's like, so I ran a DNA test on it and came back negative. Forensics. Forensics. The results haven't come back yet. She dabbles in forensics in her spare time. Yeah, who doesn't? She and my wife. Of course. That sounds like fun, actually. That's L.O.B. with her big magnifying glass looking for bed bugs. Okay, well now I'm itchy, so what do you mean I can have fleas? You have fleas. What do you mean? I mean that there are fleas living on you. Let me see. Come here. Show her your leg. How about dry skin? No, it's fleas, bro. I think it could be dry skin. It's fleas. There's flea bites. There's bites on her leg. Yesterday she was, can you put your foot up? Yesterday she was adamant. Yeah.
That's fleas. Those are flea bites, Jay. You know that. I've got five dogs. It's no big deal. No, it's no big deal. Well, they're only localized to one spot, but I'm itching everywhere. You're just infested with fleas. It's not a big deal. You'd see them. That was an overreaction. I know, because I looked it up online, and it said that fleas would be dark brown to black, and they'd be hopping around. Oh, you'll find them. And there's no fleas in my house. I searched. I cleaned the whole place yesterday. Maybe it's here. Maybe I have. I don't have any bites. I don't itch. But until you start scratching, then I start to itch. I think it's dry skin. There's bites. That could be a spider bite. She's so freaked out about it, though. Several spider bites? There's three bites. What about this here? That's a cut. There's three bites all in one spot. L-O-B is fantastic. Yeah, fantastic. All right, fine. I have experts weighing in on what legalizing pot in California will do to the cartel's revenue. Wow, why are you looking at me? Then I'll tell you about it next. Deborah Norville coming in at 7.15. Word of the day, discombobulated. We have a lovely sports chick Annie coming in, too. This is Ozzy Osbourne. We're right in San Diego, like, listening to Mikey's show. I hope I'm 94.9, man. Shut up. Word of the day is discombobulated.
Is it discombobulated? Discombobulated. Oh, okay. I thought you said it different. I don't know. I'm not calling you out. I'm just asking if maybe I was pronouncing it right. No, I probably said it ridiculously. By the way, it doesn't count. That was just repeated. No, it doesn't count. No. Big surprise you couldn't pronounce it. Of course you could eat it. Tomato, tomato, really. Spelling bee loser. G-E-D grabber. Mexican. SAT non-taker. Mexican, the guy's just racist? Yeah, what happened? He's just a racist. Fatso. Call of me. Oh, wow. Short stuff. Loser.
I'm Mikey. That's Woods. That's Lauren. Sienna's out on maternity leave. Jay's our producer. And screening phones for us. That's gross. That's gross. Kevin called yesterday and told us that he proposed to his girlfriend, Brooke. And it's been six days now because it was five days yesterday. And she just has not responded. And so... She hasn't brought it up. Yeah. Nothing. Chella B thinks is like, hey, maybe she's a little worried about it or whatever. Yeah. And she's coming on the show with him today at 8.30. I'm blown away. I would think that she would go, all right, babe. They would wake up in the morning, and she would go, listen, babe, I'm really sorry about last night. You got to give me a few days, okay? Yeah. And then every day, say something like, I love you, but I'm still thinking...
You know, weighing everything out. Not a word. Just like it never happened. Maybe she thinks that if she doesn't bring it up, he'll forget that it happened. Yeah. Oh, boy. They never forget that. They live together. You never forget that. Hey, Debra Norville is here. Nice to see you all. Nice to see you, too. I'm literally walking in in the middle of your conversation. I apologize. That's okay. Hi, morning. That's okay. Good. Debra Norville is here. And, Debra, I'm a big fan. Well, thank you. I am. I'm a big fan. Thank you. And, Debra, as you know, is the... lead on Inside Edition. I am the only on Inside Edition. That's right. You've been doing that a while. 15 years. Oh my goodness. Yeah, yeah. We just moved over to Channel 10 here in San Diego, 730. That's cool. Yeah, it's really cool. So, and now... The first time that I became aware of you was when you were on the Today Show. Sure. I remember you were doing news on the Today Show. And you were probably doing early morning radio. Yeah, I was. Keeping each other company. That's right. Yeah. It's the truth. It was my first producer job. And you were doing the Today Show. But I don't know if people know this. She's also substitute anchored for both NBC Nightly News.
and CBS Evening News. It was a big deal. Yeah, I'll tell you, it was funny because I remember one time I was at CBS. After NBC, I went over to CBS News, and it was during the OJ thing. And that was when Dan Rather and Connie Chung were the anchors of the Evening News, and neither Dan or Connie were around. And there was a really important preliminary hearing that had happened that day. And I'm sitting in the anchor chair, and I'm, you know... doing the live breaking news thing. And it was the hearing where they had presented the envelope that we later learned had the knife, the bloody knife in it, but nobody knew what was in the envelope. And so anyway, whatever this show, the day event was, but this thing is really weird. Is it too loud? No, no, no. It's like one minute you're hearing it in left ear and one minute you're hearing it in the right ear. There's a short in your microphone, so I just took them off. So anyway. So, yeah, I handled the coverage, and they said in my ear, throw it to so-and-so. There's a new pair, by the way, if you need those. And so I threw it to this legal analyst out in L.A. or whatever, and then it was all over. And I said, Ann, the court date will be such-and-such, and jury selection will be so-and-so, and da-da-da-da-da, all of which was information that I had just remembered. Right. Later, the...
producer who'd been managing that thing said that was amazing you heard everything i told you the only thing i didn't tell you was to throw to so-and-so because i didn't think you knew that they were a cbs legal analyst i said well i never heard you you never spoke to me well but yeah but i told you this and i told you that i said i never heard you i said all that stuff because i knew that was the information those were the facts that's awesome and that's exactly what she said you mean you knew all that Yeah. That's pretty awesome. That's what you pay me for. That's cool. And it turned out they had me sitting in Dan's chair. Yeah. And she was pushing the girl anchor button. Oh. Okay. Not Dan's button. Not Dan's button because I was sitting in Dan's chair, so they weren't pushing the button for Dan's headset. Yeah. They were pushing it for Connie's. I'm like, okay. Well, that was cool. It's kind of a surreal moment for me because I remember having very vivid conversations saying, Debra Norville's really good. Yeah. Well, thank you. And Debra Norville should be doing something, should be having a bigger role. And I remember when the changeovers were happening at the Today Show, and I remember thinking, well, why isn't it Debra Norville? Did you think, why isn't it me? What, to be? Yeah, I mean, when opportunities were happening. You mean after I had already been on the Today Show? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, you mean when they brought Meredith in? Yeah, I mean, for things like that, you know. Or how about, you know.
I don't know. I just always thought... First of all, that's a very nice compliment, and I thank you for that. And listen, I know I could do any of those jobs. If Brian Williams or Katie or Diane totally can do those jobs, because I'm a good live broadcaster, you're a good live broadcaster, and it's not something everybody can do, but I got a great job right now. The reason I... left CBS News, and I probably would have been on that track or whatever, is at that point I had my second child on the way. And at a certain point in some people's lives, and I don't say this is for everybody, but you've got to make a choice. And if you're going to be balls to the wall on your career, hey, that's great. But there will be other aspects of your life that have to take a second role. And in my case, in television, that would have been my family and my kids. I wouldn't prepare to do that. So here I am now 15 years after being at Inside Edition. I had a second, a third child while I was there. Brought my baby to work and was able to take care of her. No way. Good for you. Yeah. That's awesome. You know, and not everybody can do that. I was lucky to have a job that had that kind of flexibility. And, you know, now that one is 13 years old. My oldest is in college. So if somebody came calling and said, hey, we've got another opportunity, my family situation would allow me to do that.
So let me ask you this, because now you've written books, you've done books, you're doing Inside Edition. One of the things that I thought that I wanted to know was, how do you do the balance thing? Because I have been offered the opportunity to write a book. You should do it. I talked to my wife about it. Here's the deal. We got a four-year-old with autism. We have twin boys that are 13 months old. I am involved in a tremendous amount of ministry outside of here where I speak at churches on the weekend. I need to be a dad. I need to be a husband. I have this radio show. And somewhere there's got to be a little bit of time for you. That's the deal. And me too. I need time as well. Yeah, Woodsy needs a little of my time. He needs more than a little. Ridiculous. I can't believe I'm that far down on the totem pole. But who's he with right now, dear? That's true. Yeah. That's true. But we're working. So my shrink says to me. She goes, what do you do for you? And I said, nothing. Absolutely not. I don't do anything for me. And so I saw all the stuff that you do, you know. But I didn't do it all at once. You know, you're looking. See, that's the other thing. You look at that resume or that whatever and, oh, my gosh, that's the product of my entire career that you're looking at. Well, but how do you do inside edition on a daily basis and write a book?
Because I can't figure out and be a mom and be a wife. The book writing thing is intense. And the way I do it is I do like a major data drop. Like my last book was called The Power of Respect. And frankly, it was driven by some of the junk that we do on Inside Edition. I was so. Today, for instance, we have a story about a woman in Michigan who stupidly on Facebook put a picture of her little neighbor. little neighbor girl across the street seven-year-old girl who is dying of Huntington's disease and put a skull and crossbones next to her picture and then put the child's mother's picture next to the little girl now the mother is already deceased from Huntington's disease so We can't say on the radio. Why'd she do that? She's evil. Just an evil person. She's just, oh, I realize now it's a stupid thing to do. I'd like to go and apologize, but I can't because of the personal order of protection. Well, thank heaven she can't go across the street to the woman's house or she'll be arrested. So there's just, why would you do that? Why would you be so mean? Why would you be so disrespectful? And those kinds of stories inspired me.
I work on television. I have a little bit of a platform. Maybe I could write a book that would at least draw attention to it. So that's how the power of respect happened. So that book for me, I felt compelled to do because I was so upset about what was going on. So I thought, how can we bring more respect into our schools? How can we bring more respect into our personal relationships, whether it's at work or at home with our spouse and our family? How can we bring respect to the business place? And my whole thing is people. People will do the right thing if they see something in it for them. You know, we'd like to think we're all altruistic and we do the good thing. But, you know, what's in it for me? That's what motivates. Look, you're here at work. You have a great time. You do a great show. But the paycheck at the end of the week is part of the motivation to get up every day at three in the morning. So I wanted to write a book that would hopefully focus on research that shows when you treat people with respect, you benefit in that. at work if your bosses treat you guys with respect. And that's simply defined as giving you the tools you need to do the job, recognizing your efforts. Hey, you know, that was a great show you guys had on the other day. Keep it up. No big deal, but just a small recognition of, hey, somebody's paying attention. They know what I'm doing. And give you a sense that you've got a job with the future. Not that you're going to be promoted in X amount of time, but, you know, keep these things up. I know good things are going to happen for you. If not, here's somewhere else. When you get that, not only do, duh, your workers.
work more enthusiastically and you know with um you know more energy and all that but they'll have 50 more creative ideas you ever meet somebody and you're like you're a real talented person i was sitting in my mind going Wow, she's impressive. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I'm looking at her also going... But this is truth. I'm just speaking truth. I'm going, I'm an idiot. I'm an idiot. No, you are not. Aspire, aspire, aspire, aspire. But see, you know what it starts with? It's curiosity. Think about the things you're curious about. You just were saying that you do all these Sunday ministries and stuff like that. You could take your sermons and collect them. And if they're inspiring that small group of people on a Sunday, when you speak to them, think how many more people you would be able to reach if you put it on the Internet or put it between two covers of a book. It's so easy to publish now. You don't have to have some fancy-dancy publisher. Oh, yeah. I mean, the book thing can be a reality. The deal is that I go, well, where do I have time to write a book? Do you have an intern? Yeah. I'm right here. Are you the intern? No, no, no. But we have an intern. Yeah, okay.
How wonderful an experience would it be for your intern to be tasked with the opportunity to take these sermons, which you probably got on your laptop or something, and collate them and just say, you know what, see if you can do something with this. That kid's probably got the talent to do it. I have a whole rap. I have a whole spiel. I have a million anecdotes and crazy life experiences from addiction to partying at rock stars' houses to just from being a kid and sexual abuse. And I talk about all this stuff on the air. Right. And then what God did in my life and how I changed and all this stuff to a successful radio show. And there are people that want to publish this book. In fact, when I do speak, people go, have you written the book? My answer is always not yet. And I want to. I just go, I don't have time to watch TV. I'd like to just watch a TV show. Don't watch a TV show. You should never feel pressured. You know, because God does work in your life, you know that God will make it possible for you to write that book in his time.
So if you don't have time to write that book right now, it's because God has something else in mind for you right now. And it sounds like, I mean, just, you know, I'm not your shrink, but I'm your friend. And what I'm hearing is... You just need some chill time. Yeah, I do. Go watch some stupid, mindless show on TV. Jersey Shore. Oh, God, don't go that far down the pike, please. Don't be that mindless or that stupid. How often do you have to cover the Jersey Shore, by the way? The good news is, and I encourage all of your listeners to watch Inside Edition because we watch that show so you don't have to. That's fantastic. Okay, fine. So something ridiculous may have happened. And if it was ridiculous enough, you know, our threshold for ridiculous is pretty high. So if it hits our threshold for ridiculous, we will have it on Inside Edition and you will get to see it. And so you have spared yourself the agony of having to watch that dreck on cable. So question, let's go back. Question about the Today Show when you used to work on the Today Show. Because I've always been fascinated by the...
level of work that must go into it so what did a typical day for you oh my gosh what do you want to talk about not being able to sleep well they have they give you the rundown and that's sort of the listing of stories when they're going to happen what order what time and so on who's going to do them and up in the upper right corner it would always say merely a guide because that meant this is flexible things can change the truth was only a prayer this didn't have a snowball's chance in hell of ever appearing on television the way it had appeared in the fantasy of the producer right so They know what they're going to have. So when you leave in the afternoon around, I don't know, four in the afternoon or something, you may have a small pile of stuff like this file folder in a book or something to take with you. Then at six o'clock, a packet comes. And that should be your main packet of information, background notes from the producer of the segment. They've usually spoken to the guest by that point and will tell you, you know, the guest views on this and that and the other are. So you're not being blindsided by what the person says. Well, the six o'clock packet was always very, very thin, but it would arrive in a chauffeur driven. limousine at your house at your house at your apartment in new york so then another packet would come at nine and at nine o'clock that was the one that was jam-packed it was usually three packets with lots of crap and and and i
dutifully sit down. The first week I filled in on the show, I would get the large packet at nine o'clock and I would start reading and I would go through the notes and read all the articles. Two in the morning, I'm still reading. I've got to take a nap because I was also doing NBC News at sunrise. So I would go to work at three thirty in the morning. So I would take a nap for an hour and I would go to work. So finally, by Wednesday, I went to Steve Friedman, the producer of Today, and I said, Steve, I'm sorry, I can't do the show the rest of the week. No, no one has ever said no to the Today Show. He says, what? Are you crazy? What do you mean you're not going to do this job? I said, Steve, I can't. I'm dying. He said, what do you mean you're dying? I said, I haven't slept in three days. Well, why not? And I explained to him that the information isn't coming until 9 o'clock. And he looked at me with the same, I wish you could see your face. His jaw has dropped. His eyes are big. He's like, you haven't slept for three days during television. Two TV shows, too. And I said, but I get all this information at 9 o'clock. And Friedman looks at me. He goes. You mean you're reading that stuff? Well, it's coming to my home in a chauffeured limousine. I figure it's pretty important stuff. I'm reading it, yes. He said, well, don't do that. By now, I'm sleep deprived and I'm completely confused. And he said, just focus on any given show. You'll have maybe five, six interviews that you have to do. Focus on the one.
that you don't know anything about. And if you can't cook and you've got to talk to the cookbook person, you focus on the cookbook interview. If you've got to talk to the guy doing the arms control talks in Geneva and you know nothing about nuclear throw weights, then study up on the nuclear thing. But pick the one. You're well read. You know what's going on. I went, oh, okay. So. I would have done exactly what you did, though. Yeah, me too. Because I have that fear of being not prepared. Underprepared. Underprepared. And I would have done exactly what you did. Oh, there's nothing worse than they have dead air. I get up at 1.30 a.m. To prep for your show. Yeah, I mean, I'm up at 1.30 and I'm doing, you know. And what time do you go to bed? Six. Well, I get in bed at six. I don't fall asleep until 7.30. And that's hard with little kids. I mean, right now it's a little bit easier because the munchkins are still, you know, you can. And I got a little boy that is sleeping with us that decided last night it would be a good idea to pee in the bed. So that was really good. You wrote a book, by the way. You wrote a few books. You want to tell people about them more than you can get them? Well, I'll tell you about the newest one, which I did not write, but it's called Chicken Soup for the Soul, Think Positive. And I'm sure a lot of your listeners are crazy about the Chicken Soup series. They've sold like 122 million books in the world. They're unbelievable. And they came to me.
I don't know, earlier this year, they said, would you write the foreword to our next one, which is going to be Think Positive. And it was so perfect for me because my last two books were about respect and the power of gratitude. That one was called Thank You Power. And the Thank You Power book... shared the research that I collated from really top academics out there that proved a connection between gratitude and positive impact on your life. For instance, if you just write down three things every day that you think were blessings in your life, and it can be something as stupid as, I was late for work and I hit green lights the whole way. Thank you. And you write down green lights all the way. Just bullet points in your little book or whatever. If you write three things down that you thought were blessings, the research proves that you get more on your to-do list done, that you... on average exercise an hour and a half more per week, that you are better at making associations and connections. And so you can see answers to your problems that you couldn't see before. Because what it does is it activates this part of your brain right here in your forehead, your cerebral frontal cortex. You feel good, right? When you focus on what's right, you feel good. That's where your dopamine receptors are. That's also where your cognitive association function is. So you've activated the part of the brain your smarts are.
When you feel good, you're smarter. But it's hard to feel good if you can't come up with anything positive in your own life. So this book, Chicken Soup for the Soul, Think Positive, is a great way to nudge you into, oh, when you read somebody's story. And, oh, that's so cool. And then it makes it easier for you to come up with things in your own life that are positive. And then lastly, here's the last thing that I've got to ask you about. What's the biggest stuff going on out there in the entertainment? you know, inside edition world? What's the top stuff right now? You mean like in terms of entertainment or just on our show? Well, on your show, what's the biggest stuff you're talking about? Well, I think the reality TV phenomenon is something that seems to be constantly, every day we have something related to reality TV, whether it's the situation and dancing with the stars or dancing with the stars, which is a reality show too. I think it's a little worrisome when you see the direction some of these things are going in. And, you know, as viewers, we can vote with our channel selector. Yeah. And the networks are pretty quick. I mean, ABC killed one show. I think it was not. What was it called?
Lone Star. Yeah. I mean, I think it aired twice before they pulled the plug on it. Wow. So if people vote with their channel selectors, they actually are paying attention. Yeah. I think the other thing is just along the lines of the whole political scene. Yeah. People are frustrated, and they're expressing their frustration in a lot of ways, and we're covering that. There you go. Hey, listen. It was a pleasure. It's so much fun. Thank you. Yeah, I enjoyed talking to you. Deborah Norville. Don't go anywhere. Don't go anywhere, because we've got some good stuff. Remember we played audio of Lisa Rena on the Today Show? Her stores being burglarized as they're on TV, that whole deal? She's talking about it. So we got the audio of that. It's coming up. Don't go away. Word of the day is discombobulated. And so when I say it and I weave it into a sentence, you got to be caller 9-570-1949. You get a four-pack of tickets to SeaWorldWorth236. Do you know what his name is? Arnel Pineda. He's Filipino. He is Filipino. The guy that sings for Journey now is a Filipino guy, and he's got to be 20 years younger. At least. Yeah. When all the guys in Journey. When did Journey come out?
Like the old? Oh, yeah, the old Journey? Like Neil Sean, all the guys that are still in the band? Oh, dude, early 70s. Early 70s? Yeah, well, before Steve Perry was in the band, Journey with Neil Sean and all those dudes were a band. Their lead singer was a guy named Greg Raleigh. And so they've been around forever. 30 years. Oh, yeah. I mean, if they were all Filipino, they could be his grandfather. Do you think he likes hanging out with them? I don't think they do, because I don't think they have anything in common. Are you guys going to the Prebo mansion tonight? Yes. We, the guys, got an invite from Hef. He's an old friend. We used to hang out there a lot in the 80s. What time do we go? Well, the thing is, is that we're going to go. What time do we go? Arnell. Yeah. Great. Great job tonight, by the way. Thank you. You killed it. Thank you. You're welcome. I'm going to need you fresh. We're playing the Omaha County Fair tomorrow. Tomorrow. Tomorrow, and I'm going to need you fresh. We're going to fly out to the mansion. Yeah. And we're going to visit, and we've got some stuff that we have to do. What time we leave? We're actually going to go, you're going to need to stay and rest up. You can't. I can't. I stay where?
You stay in the hotel here in Omaha. Oh, are you good to Paper Mansion? Yes. No! Yeah, we're going to go without you, though. But hey, good job, dude. You killed it tonight. Arnell. Question. I love you. No, wait, wait, wait. Before you go. Yeah. You stay in Ritz-Carlton, okay? Yeah, we do stay in the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, yes. Why am I staying at the Quinta Inn? The what? The Quinta Inn. Why are you at the Litz Carlton? I am at the Rakinta Inn. Here's the deal. How long have you been in Journey? A year. A year, four years. You're two, four, five. I've been in Journey for 40 years. So, zip your lip. Seniority. Seniority. Zip your lip. Go back. Get yourself free continental breakfast. I'm going to the Playboy Mansion with my other guys. I'm going to need you to stay here, though. You think that's what it sounds like? 100%. Not anything in common. Oh, poor guy. 40 years younger. Yeah. Can't, yeah or no. Not gonna. Not gonna let you come roll with us. But hey, keep up the good work. You're doing a great job. You killed it on Lights tonight. I watched, on Lights, I watched some YouTube stuff of him. And here's the deal. The dude is a spot on Steve Perry. Oh yeah. But it just.
You're watching it and you're looking at Neil Sean and you're like, I know you're not into this. I know you're not into this. I know you don't want to be up there doing this if you had your way. Yeah. Payday. Exactly. I saw them live in concert. He was good. Oh, yeah. He's phenomenal. He was real good. He got the moves down. Woods is right. Neil Sean now looks like I'm over it. I've done this for 175 years. I watched the Behind the Music on Journey. And he was over it when Steve Perry was in the band. He was over getting on stage singing Faithfully and Open Arms. He wanted to shred and rock. He wanted to rock. And he had to go up there and do... Yeah, ballad. And he was like, oh my God, really? He didn't like that. Made him a billion dollars, but he still didn't like it. Well, and when they did rock, you knew that he lived for those small moments. Yeah, separate ways.
That's his jam. Yeah, when they would get to finally do something that was rocked a little bit, he was really into it. Steve Perry always bothered me. Oh, I had a man crush on Steve Perry. Did you? I was like, oh, that guy's got the vocals of an angel. That Filipino guy sounds just like this. What song is it? This is Keep On Running, but how about this one? Sing it with me. Come on. It's great, dude. Didn't you watch him the other night? Oh, yeah. Hit live in Manila. This is his homeland. Yeah, they went to Manila and played. It was great, too, because, you know, they're very proud of him because he's the lead singer of Journey and everything, but he would get to a part where he wanted them to, like, sing it dead silent. Really? Yeah. He would get in it.
Yeah, nothing. They're looking at him like. Yeah, we don't know. I don't know lights. We like it. It's good. You're good. We're proud of you. You're doing great. We're proud of you. We don't know the song, you know, and it was fantastic. So what about him wanting to take the band out in the Philippines in Manila? Yeah. You know what, Arnell? Dude. We're good. We just found out we all have the flu. We just found out. Wait, wait, wait. How do you have free now? Like on the flight. I got it. Fake cough. No, no, no, no. That's fake cough. I feel terrible right now. You didn't just talk right there a minute ago. I feel terrible. I'm going to take it to the house, to the hotel. Yeah, Arnell, I just talked to Ross and Ross, our bass player, and he said, He has H1N1. I got H1N1 right now. See? So he can't. He can't do it tonight. We're not going to be able to go to dinner with you and your grandmother and your family. We can't do it. We can't do it. I'm jet lagged. Let me tell you something. We were looking forward to it. Yes. We were looking forward to it. Unfortunately, Ross has H1N1. Who doesn't want?
Fish head soup. We wanted to. We wanted to try it. We wanted to. I want to. So bad. So bad. I can't, dude. I can't. He can't. He can't. We can't make it. So we're going to take you to the hotel. We'll see you in the morning. This is wrong. You keep up the good work, though. We don't want to hang out with you outside of ours, okay? Poor guy. They're 58 years old. Yeah. He's like 26. 26-year-old guy from the Philippines. Dream come true. Oh, yeah. Okay, so experts have weighed in on what legalizing pot in California will do to the cartel's revenue. Okay, Proposition 19, we talked a little bit about that last week, which would legalize marijuana in California would do little to curtail the violent Mexican organizations that smuggle it across the border. Mexican America!
And it said it would erase no more than two to four percent of the revenues that gangs receive from drug exports. Yeah. And this isn't, you know. Mikey's information. This isn't Mikey's research that he did. This is from Bo Kilmer, who's the co-director of RAND's Drug Policy Research Center. That's just facts. That's what they said. It's not going to do anything to the drug cartels. They're still going to be doing their thing. 570-1949. We're worried about what it will do for the U.S. Well, there it is. That's real data that's coming out. And that's what we're hearing. Speaking of the situation, he was kicked off of Dancing with the Clowns last night. So he will not be on that show anymore.
Here's his parting words. It is what it is. You know, I tried my best, and at the end of the day, somebody's got to go home, and it is the fourth round, and if I made it to the fourth round, that was my best, I guess. We heard yesterday that dude's a millionaire. Oh, yeah, multi. He's going to make $10 million this year. He's a multi-millionaire. Yeah! I can't believe it. It's flabbergasting. It's where we are today. That's the country we live in, and that is super unfortunate. If I could play two things at the same time, let me see. I can. It's magic. So here's what I'm going to do. If you haven't heard it, the kid that was upset that the Chargers lost to Oakland. It hurts. It hurts bad. I wonder if, you know, because today's Wednesday, I wonder if he's over it. Probably. I'm sure. It's had three days, right? He's on to something else. On to something else? Yeah, he's upset they don't have chocolate milk anymore. Cafeteria. No more Coca-Colas. Corn dogs. Did anything make you more angry when you were a kid than when you were out of something? Which was, when you think about it, you were mad at your mom. Because she didn't keep...
That stocked. And you think about it now. You're like, I didn't even pay for it. Yeah. And you were like mad. I do that now. You were pissed. I do it now. My kids do it now. Yeah. I do it now. I get home and I'm like, oh, I want a sandwich. At least you're paying for it, bro. Yeah, but she tries to sneak some low-fat Miracle Whip by it. And I'm like, what is this? Yeah. We didn't have any regular Miracle Whip. You ate it all. Oh, great. It's too far to run up to the store, huh? Perfect. My kids are over 18. I went camping this weekend. I come home and they're like, hey, so you left without going to the store. Oh, wow. I'm like, yeah, I did. Oh, wow. You know what you can do? You can get in your car. Yeah. And you can go to the store and buy food. Yeah. Well, then I have to pay for it. Yeah. You're like, guess what? You're 38 years old. Gravy trains over, pal. Maybe you get out of the basement. Yeah. Captain Buzzkill. My dad would put. the kibosh on that stuff with me real quick. What? There's no food in here. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You like to buy food? Go ahead. My brother Steve, I told you this story, was staying with my brother Mark and got kicked out because my brother came home. Steve's living in his house. My brother walks in the door and Steve goes, who ate all the peanut butter? Amazing. And Mark goes, get your stuff and get out. Get the hell out of here. And Steve was like,
You know, I made a mistake. Get out. Don't care. Beat it. That was a straw. I go to the store, and I'll buy what I want, and I come back the next day, and it's gone. Oh, of course. Finn's in his room just with the whole bag over his face. Like, I will. Our friend Doogie, he hides. He has to hide stuff. My dad used to all the time. My mom hid stuff. So you wouldn't get it? Yeah. Little Debbie's, apple turnovers, all kinds of stuff. He's hiding under his bed. Jasper will do it with popsicles. We bring a whole bunch of popsicles home and we go, oh, we're all out of popsicles, Jasper. And he goes, if I find one, can I have it? I'm like, sure. And he's like, he's had popsicles for days. He's like, I'll throw them everywhere in the freezer. Brilliant. I'll buy, even now, I'll buy a bag of chips and I'll go to have my chips and there's crumbs, crumb chips. And I'm like, what happened? Where did those go? I just I haven't even had any. Yeah. And that's for a dad. Oh, my God. That was his thing. The chips. If he came home and his chips were reduced to crumbs. Oh, boy.
Oh, yeah. My kids love to eat everything that's in the box and just leave the empty box there so you don't even know it's gone. So you're like, you'll fix everything. I'm thinking I'm getting crackers. I'm making tuna fish. I'm getting some cheese cut up. And I go and grab the box and the cracker box is completely empty. Just left on the shelf. Probably makes you crazy. Is this my son? Is this my son? That's your son. Again with the chips bit? Mm-hmm. Yeah, maybe you don't. First of all, you're one year old, Luke. Maybe you should not be eating chips. It's in a salad. Oh, wow. That's all right. Maybe you get off Facebook a little bit more. You're on the Facebook all the time. Dude, first of all, let me tell you. First of all, I'm not dude. Let me tell you this. I'm dad. You know what Facebook is? What? It's a hot pool of leads. Lauren. He's one. Yeah, he's one. He's one. Dude, it's like shooting fish in a barrel. Is it? I got three girls coming over this afternoon. No, you don't. No, you don't. You're a baby. You're a baby. You're a year old. What? They're 15 years old. Oh, really? Older women? Cougars? Is that the deal?
They are cougars to me. Don't do that. Stop crying about your chips. I like chips, too, and Mom doesn't buy anything but, you know, organic pita crap, and all I want is chips. You buy the good stuff. I need the good stuff. You can't have chips. I need the chips. Your stomach can't digest it. Shouldn't you be eating, like, strained carrots or something? Shouldn't you? That's what you eat, L-O-B, strained carrots. Yeah, it's delicious. I eat strained carrots. I eat steak. I drink scotch. Drink scotch. I drink Budweiser. No, he doesn't. I smoke cigarettes. No, he doesn't. And that's really my diet. You want to know what my diet is? Scotch, steak, Budweiser, cigarettes. Take those sunglasses off. And dad's chips. Are you wearing sunglasses right now? Yeah, I'm wearing your sunglasses. You know what else I don't like? What? I don't like the fact that on your Facebook page, you're making it seem like you went to Vegas. You didn't go to Vegas. You also make it seem like you're friends with Reggie Bush. When you were laid up with your little, when you got your little... Got your little hurt? You got your little surgery? Remember when you got your little surgery? He had a hernia. I had a hernia. You couldn't even move? Mama had to take care of you. I had a hernia. Like a little baby? That's right. You're a baby. You're a baby. I was in Vegas. No, you weren't. Blowing it out, throwing dice, hanging out at light and aura and all kinds of places. What is that, light and aura? They're clubs. You wouldn't know anything about it. You wouldn't.
How'd you get in? You're not of age. I know friends, man. Reggie friggin' Bush is a buddy of mine. You think I have a problem getting in anywhere? Plus, my dad is Mikey from the radio. So you walk up to, yeah, and I'm sure that makes a big difference in Las Vegas. No, they remember you from back in the day. Is that right? Is that right? Is that right? Is that right? Is that right? Is that right? Is that right? You are a little bit of a legend. So you rolled with Reggie Bush in Vegas? Yeah. A few times, but when you were... Where'd you stay? Where'd you stay? We stayed at the Bellagio. What room number? 646. Really? Yeah. There is no 646 in there. Yeah, sure there is. I mean, 1646. You just made that up. Don't do that, Luke. Hey, what time do you get off work? Don't ask me what time I get... This is the stupidest question. You know, I get off at 10. What time do you be home? Why? Yeah, why? Why? Why? I'd like to be all close to business. That's when you sniff around. Get off the phone. Goodbye. I gotta go. He's a clown. He's got more important places to be. Do you want to know how many friends Luke has on Facebook? How many? 764. Oh my gosh. Insane. Kid's a little baller. He's 13 months old. He has almost 800 Facebook friends. Legendary. Like his Uncle Woods. His last quote was, his last Facebook status, Luke Esparza.
His last Facebook status was, now here's a little story I got to tell about three bad brothers you know so well. Beastie boy. It started way back in history with Jakey, Rye Rye, and me, Lou Key. Oh, wow. It's so clever. He's like the next M&M. I like the one before that where he says he can't date all your daughters. Yeah. I'm just going to put this out there. I can't date all of your daughters. I have this chick I'm seeing right now, but she's about to graduate to preschool. It's complicated. She wants to be all serious, and I want to play it by ear. She's such a baby. She's such a baby. How ironic. He is a precocious little one, isn't he? He's got an attitude. Yeah, he does. You ask me. It's all right. 8 o'clock. Annie will be in here. Annie the sports chick. Everything Chargers. And a very attractive gal. And Graz will be in here to take pictures. It's what's on the inside that counts. Yep. It's what's on the inside that counts. That's right. Barely say it with a straight face. I don't know what you're talking about. I don't see women. I don't objectify women. I don't look at them as objects.
That's good, Woodsy. That's sweet. It's time for some cat cry. Really? If you want to see the video for that, it's at MikeyShow.com. Fantastic. You know Bob Barker was collapsed and he's fine. Yes. He collapsed at a gun range in Los Angeles. It's the weirdest thing. We'll tell you about it. We have audio with a 911 call. It's crazy. We'll play it next. But before he left, he went and maimed me Sue. Word of the day today is discombobulated. So when you hear me say that and I weave it into a sentence, Caller 9 gets a $236 value. Four-pack to SeaWorld. I'm Mikey. That's Woodsy. That's L-O-B. Sienna's not here because she's out on maternity leave. Jay is our producer. And our phone screener is grass. It's grass. And we have sports chick Annie in here with us today. She's back with us.
And we've talked about Annie before. A, these are the reasons that we love Annie. She knows a lot about the Chargers. She knows a lot about the Chargers. And she's pretty easy on the eyes. That makes my mouth. Yeah. She is very, she's a very pretty girl. That's right. Thank you. Still single? Still single. We have a lot of creepy listeners out there if you're interested. A lot of inmates from Oakland that were interested. It's always good to know that that's my fan base. Lauren's like, really? You say inmate. You have their return addresses. Yeah, exactly. Just take a little trip to Oakland. Just hang out. Oh, LLB has a timeshare in Oakland. I've never been to Oakland in my life. So, haven't you? Well. She has, but it's been through the computer. She takes tours of the city through Google Earth. That kind of deal. So Annie, when you were there, it must have been a hit on festival. Because I'm thinking to myself, pretty blonde girl, beer, football game. Does that turn into... Raider fans. Raider fans. Raider fans. And they're bold.
They don't care. They're just coming out of there, and they're grabbing me, or they're saying stuff, or just heckling and whatnot. I will say they were nice for the most part, besides the ones that cursed at me and called me bad names. But the other ones. Did they really? Why? Yeah, they just get into it. I mean, they're just, you know, you can't. I couldn't even talk to a Chargers. I do these videos before the games where I'm out with the tailgaters, and I'm talking to them. And I couldn't talk to one Chargers fan without just. a swarm of raiders i would actually try and grab them and go hide somewhere and interview them and out of nowhere they'd be coming they'd be flipping off the camera they'd be cursing and and it's just it's just their environment i mean they're just having fun and um but then you know the next five minutes later they're like do you want a water you okay you know like so that's funny but but yeah they were uh Yeah, they're a special breed. So what is the problem with the Chargers? What's the deal? I would say two words. Special teams. Special teams is on a breakdown right now. And it's just this weird thing where, you know, we were just talking about it. Kevin Acey just texted me. Number one offense, number two defense. Whoa! Insane. The Chargers have the number one offense and number two defense. How is it possible? How does it feel to not win because of special?
Don't blame me. I don't have a thing to do with it. Every week I go out there and I can't play the game for the fellas. They've got to get out there and play the game themselves. I can't do it. All I can do is tell them the best thing at halftime, and I do that. But I can't control them. I will say they're as bewildered. It seems like they're as bewildered as everybody else was. In the locker room after the Raiders game, there was just kind of this... feeling of what just happened you know yeah is this real like did this really just happen yeah so i i do think uh they're a good team and i think that their their strength their strengths on offense and defense are awesome you know and so they fix this exactly there's that little kid from youtube right that's just freaking out yeah yeah like he just watched the game yeah by the way i think they felt that way by the way did you hear the charger kid the charger kid crying Oh, my God. Not to Oakland. Is that you, Mikey? Yeah. Might as well be. Might as well. He almost vomited. He's really upset. Get out of here. I'm trying to watch. He's like hyperventilating. It's not over yet. Get out of here. Wow. Not to Oakland. We were a field goal.
We all felt that way, didn't we? I was going to say, that's probably most of San Diego. They just didn't YouTube it. So you fly out with them and everything? We fly out the same day usually. We're not on their flight or anything like that. I've seen more Charger fans this season in the airport going to these games than I ever have. Why won't they go to the games in their own city? You know what happens then? Isn't that weird? You know what you don't have to do? You don't have to buy a plane ticket. You don't have to get a hotel room. You don't have to get meal money. All you do is go watch your team in your own flipping stadium. And at least we know that the game's going to be televised this weekend because it's in St. Louis. Isn't that something? Yeah. Because, you know, Oakland was blacked out, but it was shown here, obviously. But it's funny because all these road games they've lost. And, you know, everyone's flying out there. They're all excited. And they're on the plane back. And everyone's just kind of down, you know. What a waste of money. Let me ask you, Annie. Do you think, like, if the Chargers don't, let's say. Worst case scenario. Let's say that the Chargers didn't make the playoffs. Do you think that there would be a change at head coach? And at this point, I'm asking myself, I'm like, what if the Chargers don't make the Super Bowl? Because if they got the number one ranked offense and the number two ranked defense, how long will we go where it's like one game out, two games out? You know, like we got to go to the Super Bowl.
You know what I mean? Yeah. You know, that's a good question. I would channel Kevin on that one. I mean, you know, from what I know, they're high on Norv. And I don't think that they're going to do anything drastic like that. I mean, but I don't know. You know, that's a good question. I think that... They're going to turn it around. I really do. I think they're going to get the special teams things fixed. Well, that's the bit here, and that's what I heard when I moved here, is don't worry about the first six weeks of the season. They always start slow. They're going to come out hot, but they're going to get to the meat of their schedule here pretty soon. They've got some tough opponents coming up. It's like the Cowboys. I grew up in Dallas, and the Cowboys are 1-3, and they've got the Vikings this week. It's like, man, at some point, you're going to have to turn the thing around. You better do it quick. Because there's only so many games you can play. All right, Annie. So let's talk about the real stuff. You're still single. And my question for you, I think, is what every guy would be asking himself right now. How are you still single? Now, I think a lot of guys ask that about LOB, too. Stop it. It's true. It is true. Now, here's what I mean. Here's what I mean. Tell me. Please.
That's not the first question you ask a single woman. We've asked other questions. We talked about the special teams. Mike said, I think what every guy I want to ask. Hey, you want to make $14 the hard way? Okay, wait. That's Jay playing inappropriate drops. What? Very appropriate. My question is time, right? It has to be that you don't have it. Or is it a thin dating pool? Like they're not. Heavy. They're not heavy dudes. Well, they're inmates. They're inmates. In Oakland. And long-distance relationships typically don't work. Exactly. And especially when you're having to deal with parole officers and things like that. I mean, there's a lot going on there. Exactly. Exactly. Do you know how many really great-looking, successful women that we know, they're single? There's not a lot of eligible dudes. It's hard for girls to find guys. That, like, have responsible jobs and stuff. Ambition. Big douches. Yeah. That's hard to find. That's the thing, I think, is, you know, and you know how, like, a lot of guys like to kind of put up front and stuff. I'm just not into that. Yeah. I'm just, like, you know, I'm doing my work. I'm hanging out. And I think, I don't know. I just don't. I'm not meeting a lot of people. That's the truth. I'm so busy. Yeah. It's hard to meet people because you look at you and L.O.B.
Two young, attractive gals with everything else. Beautiful gals. Great personalities. But there's just dudes that don't have the moxie. They're douches. That's why. Do you remember the last date you went on and was he a douche? When was the last date you went on with a douche? I would say the last year. Last year? No, in the last year. In the last year. Was it terrible? Yeah. You know, there was a douche date about a year ago, and then there was just kind of the dates that are just not. Nothing. There's just nothing there. No spark. I love my wife so much, and I am so happy that I don't have to date anymore. At least you'd be, you know, you'd have some skills. Well, I mean, I've got mad skills, but I don't want to have to. Does she like me? Am I being an idiot? Am I talking too much? Is she talking enough? Is there anything worse than dating? No, there's nothing worse than dating. But you guys have not considered the possibility that being single is a choice. Well, yeah. It clearly is. No, we're not saying there's something wrong with either of you. We're actually blaming it on the men that are out there. Men out there, you guys are clownish. Yeah.
It's kind of like the Chargers. It's just a slow start. And it's going to pick up, and I'm going to get the teams fixed. Get special teams in order. Yeah, get your special teams in order. 570-1949 is our number. And if you want to text us, 949mikey at gmail.com. Average day, what are you doing? Going to? Union Tribune. Yeah. Working there all day. I'm at Chargers Park all day. All day. So I'll leave here and I'll go there and I'll start, you know, fixing up some videos or whatever and getting ourselves ready for today. Today is the role. Today is our Chargers role show. So we'll do that tonight at Tony's Sushi. Yeah. A little plug for that. And then, yeah, we're there until, I don't know, 9 or 10 at night. So it's a long day. It's a long day. I'll be on the couch with a blanket under my chin and like. Probably like four hours. If I could steal this cool thing behind. The love sack. I would. The love sack. And I'd take that. We have a bean bag in here that seats three people. It's pretty comfortable. Yeah. But, you know, going to St. Louis this week, this weekend. Nice. A lot friendlier fans up there. A lot friendlier. And, you know, they lost to the Lions. Yeah. Bad. Really bad. They lost to the Lions. Which is a trip because the Rams actually have a pretty decent defense. And so.
Maybe it's interesting. If the Chargers don't beat the round. Oh, yeah. If the Chargers don't beat the round. Oh, and is Marcus McNeil, so is he eligible to play and will he play? Supposedly. Oh, he's eligible. This is the first game he's eligible. Supposedly, that's the rumor. So there's been nothing official that's been announced on that end, but that's the rumor is that he will play. He'd be the likely starter. Or the likely in the game. If he's in football shape, is he ready to go? Has he been working out the whole time that he was out and all that stuff? He looks good. Yeah? Yeah, he's trimmed down. He looks pretty solid right now, so he looks good. Yeah, L.O.B.'s eyes just lit up. Yeah, I'm like, keep going. Come to work with you. Is it bringing L.O.B. to work a day? That's awesome. 5701949 is our number. Okay, so Annie's with us, but I want to be able to play this because people are wanting to hear it. It's the audio that I promised you. So, Bob Barker, did you hear about Bob Barker? I did not. Apparently, Bob Barker is out at a gun range, okay? He's fine. Guy is like 90-something years old. He's 86. 86? Yeah, 86 or 87. He's at a gun range in Los Angeles. He's fine. Everything's good. But here's the 911 call. Ambulance is a hard word to pronounce before anybody starts to make dispersions.
There are many words that sometimes are not the easiest words to pronounce. Ambulance is one of them before we all start freaking out. Did I stutter? Angelus. Shooting range. It's 12651 Little to Hungry Canyon Road, Lakeview Terrace, 91342. Okay, we're at in the shooting range. In the building or outside or where? Outside. And what's across the street, did you say? It's no cross street. It's Osborne Street. Okay, and what's the phone number you're calling from? 818-899-2255. And what's the emergency at your shooting range? Bob Barker collapsed. I'm sorry, did you just say that Bob Barker collapsed? And you're at a shooting range? Is that right? You don't mean the Bob Barker that used to play Plinko on Price is Right, do you? Couldn't be that one. Same Bob Barker, yes. Yes, ma'am. Why don't you come on down? Bob Barker?
He's breathing, he's conscious, but he can't walk when it's done. He's still laying on the... He's 90 years old also. Okay, we're on our way to 12651 Little Tujunga Canyon Road. Yes. We're on... She gives the address, and Bob goes, the actual retail price is... We're on our way out there, okay? And you're not with Bob, are you? His friend just came in. Don't try to start stuff. Okay, he's married, I'm married. Don't worry about it. There's nothing going on. I got my pet, Spade. Right. That's right. And neutered. And neutered. Oh, okay. But he did tell you that he was conscious, he was breathing, but we don't want to move him at all if you go back out there to them. Okay. Okay, if you guys got any shade, is he out in the sun? He's in the shade. Oh, good. He's on the pistol side range. Okay. Of course he is. 80-some-year-old guy out there just blasting 357s. Blasting pistols. Yeah. Okay, good. As long as he's kind of in a shady area, I'm not sure how hot it is out there. It's not a shady area. It's a nice place. Yeah, it's nice. It's not a bad part of town. There's no drug dealing going on there. It's not shady. If he's feeling hot, you guys may want to make sure that you guys can drink something cool on him, maybe to keep him cool, all right? Okay, we got him some water out there. That's great advice.
If he's hot, what you're going to want to do is you're going to want to cool him. If he's too cold, what you're going to do, you're going to warm him up. Now, let me just tell you, because I'm a professional, we've been trained. If he is, in fact, hungry, give him something to eat. If he complains of being thirsty, you might want to find some water. Water, if you can. Maybe a soda or maybe a lemonade. Something liquid. We have paramedics on the way. If he complains of boredom... Sudoku if you can if there's a Sudoku around try to supply him with that until the paramedic can arrive and get there absolutely Okay, if he is at any point if he is at any point asking for literature Maybe some David. Now, I don't want to press my views on you, but maybe you pick up some David Sedaris. It's very heady. It's very heady. It's a bit cynical. I hear Oprah's new favorite is freedom. You may want to grab that. Put that in his hand. Give him something. If he's saying he wants literature. If he's unconscious, don't give him any water. That is a good point. It's a great point. Great point. Great point. He drowned him.
Here are the things that you shouldn't do. Bother him, annoy him. Don't shave him. Don't shave him. Do not shave him. Don't shave him. Leave his pants on, man. Leave all of his clothing on. Leave his pants on. Nobody wants to see that. Hey, and this is the most important thing. Don't not spade or neuter your... dogs or cats. And don't be the guy that when someone says 150, don't say 151. And also, don't bet a dollar. Don't be an idiot. Don't bet a dollar. Don't bet one dollar. Because he knows that bit and he's seen that bit. About a million times. So don't go there. Hey, I know you probably wouldn't. Don't say come on down. Yeah. It's not funny. When you're guessing the price, laundry detergent doesn't cost $34. Use your head. Some places. Yes. Wait for the second package. It's better. Yes. Don't take the living room deal. No. A two liter bottle of Mountain Dew is not going to be more than $4.75. It's about 99. If you land on 95 cents, don't spin again. No. That's brutal. You're just dumb if you do.
That's funny. We're just telling you. You're just dumb if you do. Annie is in, and Annie is awesome. If you have not, people can follow you on Twitter, right? They can. You know, I tweet. I have a personal account, but I mostly tweet from the SDUT Chargers. You can find me on Facebook. I'm in the social networking world, but you can see all the videos on sign-on. There you go. Chargers.uniontrip.com. Yeah, she'll be roaming the parking lots before the games and all that stuff. You knock back a couple cold ones with the gang out there? You know, I don't, but it's amazing how many fans like to try and get me wasted out there. Oh, yeah. Weird. Guys trying to get her drunk. That's so weird. And they're like, come on. I'm like, I can't. I'm working. Come on. Come on. I got Rufy Collado's over here. Grab one. Let's go. Time to party. Creeps. Men are such creeps. Sports chick Annie. We love her. And she works for the San Diego Union-Tribune and is all things Charger. What is America's worst credit card and why? And do you have it? And when we come back, we're going to be talking to Kevin and Brooke. Kevin and Brooke. We haven't heard from Brooke yet. We'll hear from Brooke today. But we talked to Kevin yesterday. He proposed to her six days ago. She hasn't brought it up. I haven't said anything.
Yeah, so we're going to talk to both of them and find out what's going on. We'll do that next. You know what, Woods? The only reason that I know this song is because I've heard you imitate it. That's the only way. So when I'm singing it, I'm just singing what I've heard you sing. I love it. It's such a good song. Mexicans love Morrissey. Yes, they do. Mexican-Americans don't like to just get into gang fights. They like flowers and music. And Morrissey. And Morrissey. So we are getting ready to talk to M1 Kevin and M1 Kevin's girlfriend, Brooke. Fiance? No, not fiance. Let me play from yesterday's show.
the call that we took from Kevin. M1 Kevin from El Cajon has a bad story about proposing. So what happened? I'll think about it. Oh, dude. That's gorgeous. I'm like, so I'm like, where am I going? I'm in the middle of this restaurant on my knee with the ring out, and she's thinking about it. Holy cow. Were people looking at you guys? It's a little awkward because, I mean, it's like five days old. The situation, it's kind of come up, but like I said, she danced around it. And so it's just like.
I don't know if I should go and approach like I always do or if it's like stand back. So, M1, Kevin, are you there? Yes, I am. Here he is. And we have your girlfriend, Brooke, on the line, too. Brooke, are you there? I'm here. Hi. Oh, boy. Hi, Brooke. Hi, Brooke. Hi. Hi. So, Jay talked to you yesterday. Told you you're coming on the air and that we're going to talk to you about this situation, which is really awkward because you haven't even talked to Kevin about it. And I told Jay, please tell them not to discuss it. So the first question I have for you is, did you abide by those rules and not discuss it until this morning when we come on the air? Yes, I have not talked to him about it. Perfect. Okay. It's par for the course, right? Oh, stop it. Sounds like about normal. Now, it has now been six days, and tomorrow would make one week since he proposed to you. And you have not brought it up, Brooke. And so there's no beating around the bush. We'll get right to it. How come you have not said anything, and how come you haven't brought it up?
I'm definitely one of those types of people that I like to really think about stuff before I make a decision, and I really don't ever want to say anything that I don't mean. And so, you know, I've internalized it and been thinking a lot about it, and I just wanted to make sure that I didn't, you know, say the wrong thing or say something I didn't mean, which is why I said that I needed to think about it, because I didn't want to say yes and then later go back and go, you know, I'm having... stats about this. L.O.B. has a look on her face right now like, told you. So you're like a hopeless romantic, one might call you, right, Brooke? She's logical. Yeah, I'm kidding. That was sarcasm. Yeah, it was sarcasm. It's me being a jerk. Why, though, Brooke, would you not, you know, if for no other reason, just to have mercy, be sweet, nice, kind, uh consider it sensitive not loving loving not want him to jump off the brooklyn bridge you know that kind of thing why would you not tell him something like something he knows how i am and he knows that i like to think things through a lot before i make any big decision and that's a big decision and to not say i guess to not say something is my way of just i don't know i didn't think it would be considerate to really
talk about it without having the chance to really internalize it and think it through yet and formalize my thoughts about it. She said she needed some time. What she's doing is taking time. Give you 24 hours. Exactly, exactly. And living with someone, it's hard because they're always different, so I really haven't had the time to really think about it when, you know, we're together a lot. Brooke, so where are we in this process now? Or is it still maybe a little more time? Maybe wait until the next summer solstice. No, stop it. It's good. Yeah, maybe Haley's Comet. Leave her alone, leave her alone. Maybe it's the premiere of Iron Man 3. It's a big decision, and we're just so young. She's 25 and he's 27. My mom had two kids by the time she was 25. My mom had four kids by the time she was 25. Sienna has one kid, and she's 25. Oh, you guys relax. Well, I don't know. My parents got married really young, and it didn't work out for them. And so for me, I just see it as I really want to get married once. I don't want to have to go through a divorce. Being a kid that's gone through it, I know how it felt for me, and I don't want to ever make anyone feel that way. I know how hard it was for them and for me. Hey, Kevin, pipe down, bro.
He's speechless. Do what he expects. The love of his life. He wanted to marry her. She doesn't say anything. He said his part. This is like the first time she's actually saying anything about it. He probably feels better. Yeah, he's listening. But, you know, we live together. We bump into each other all the time. Oops. Sorry. Oh. Excuse me. Just going to grab the milk. Excuse me. Oh, I'm sorry. Did you need to get in here? Yeah. I just got to go number two real quick. Yeah, it's okay. No, fine. Excuse me. Oh, Brooke. Brooke, what does your other boyfriend think about her? Stop it. Don't listen to him, Kevin. Brooke, that guy that you're seeing on the side, does he think you should marry him? Brooke, I'm just plenty of man for me. That a girl. That's sweet. In defense. Maybe you marry him. I mean, I love what we have. I love living together. The ring is beautiful. Maybe you spend the rest of your life together. Stop it. She would be a monster if she said yes just to placate him and then felt like afterwards was like, you know what? I said yes because we were at the restaurant, but I really needed more time. I would have been happier with that. I swear I would have been. Now, in defense to Brooke.
Brooke, have you and your other boyfriend had a serious talk about it? Stop it. Just a joke. We're just teasing you. What's the matter with you people? I was joking. Please. Don't you know a joke when you hear one? Come on. You're going to plant a seed in Kevin's head that doesn't need to be there. He's going to start sniffing around. Yeah. Well, I mean, there's nothing for him to find, and I'm kind of upset that you guys are... We're just kidding! No, no, no, we were kidding. We were kidding, Brooke. We were kidding, were we? I have to... Brooke, in all seriousness, I want to get this out there. Full disclosure. Yesterday, I said I thought it would be a bad idea for Kevin to continue in a relationship with you. Now, I said that because I think that it's... You guys have been together... I don't know how long you've been together. He said you guys have been living together for a while. How long have you been together? We've been together for about three years. Okay. Now, if you're with somebody for three years, and especially, you know, that you're living together, which I don't suggest. Oh, boy. 85% of couples ended a divorce in the first 10 years when they lived together. Oh, boy. Just a stat. He's a stat guy. I'm a stat guy. But.
You know, my thing is, is that after three years, I'm saying to a guy and I'd be saying to a girl, hey, listen, if it's been three years and you know, you're still, you know, you're playing house and the whole deal. I mean, you don't know. I don't know, man. I just I kind of feel like if Kevin were my boy. And he said, you know, first of all, I would know that he was going to be proposing to you. And I would be dying to talk to him as soon as it was over. Be like, dude, so how'd it go? What happened? And if he said to me, yeah, dude, she said she doesn't know. And then it were five days out and six days out. And he was still saying to me, yeah, dude, she hasn't even brought it up. I would be saying to him, bro, bail. Pack your bags. No, it doesn't matter what you, it's all about Kevin and Brooke. It doesn't matter what Kevin's buddy thinks. Let's run, let's recreate it. Let's recreate it. We'll recreate it. We'll recreate it. All right, Mike, I'll be, I'll be Kevin. Yeah? I'll be Kevin and you be my boy. Oh, yeah. Yeah, for sure. No, who cares what Kevin's boy says? It's not Kevin's mean. It's not Kevin's boy's life. Mikey. It's Kevin and Brooke's life. Who cares? This is Woods and Kevin, and you be Kevin. Okay? Hey, bro. Yeah? You didn't call me last night after the deal, after you took her out to dinner.
Dude, are you engaged? I didn't call anybody, man. Are you freaking engaged? She said yes, you went home and made love all night. Sweetly. No. Really? What happened? Kind of was a bummer, dude. A bummer? Dude, you got engaged. Not engaged. She said no? She didn't say no. She said that she wasn't sure and that she needed time. You're joking. She's sitting right next to you. With the phone up to her ear with you, right? Let me talk to her. Brooke. Dude, I'm not. No, I'm seriously. You're family now, kid. I'm not kidding, dude. She really did say that. BS. Well, like I said yesterday, guys, my boys were there. Yeah. Oh, that's right. They were like taking pictures. Yeah, they were all set for it. So, I mean, they saw what happened. So, I didn't have to tell anybody. It's not embarrassing. You didn't have to whisper down the lane. They all saw it. Yeah, that's not embarrassing at all. It's not very emasculating. My guys are always there for me. But this time, they didn't even know what to say. No, I wouldn't even... M1... Hang on just a second. M1 John from National City, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. Go ahead. He said that he does not think that she wants to marry him. Totally. Well, that's not... That actually isn't in question.
That's not a question because if she did want to marry him, she would say, that's not true. I want to marry him. And Brooke can't say that. Well, you guys have to understand how he and I have never really talked about marriage, so this proposal caught me off guard. It's not something that we've really discussed because in conversations, we've talked about how much we love living together. And he knows I'm kind of an unconventional girl. And we've actually had conversations about how... Marriage wouldn't give up anything that we don't already have. We get to live together. We have a committed relationship. We've worked through trust issues that came up early on in the relationship. I feel like we have a really strong relationship. Trust issues with who? With you or him? Well, I don't really want to bring it up, but he and the boys that were there taking pictures, I wasn't happy that they were there because there was some stuff early on in the relationship that made me... You know, I have trust issues with men. My dad cheated on my mom, you know. And Kevin what? What's the issue with you and Kevin? What's with Kevin and his boys? Oh, you know. Hey, boys will be boys. Say what? Wait, what? I'm interested in this. Me too. It was early on in the first year that we dated. They went on like an all guys trip and some stuff happened. Hey, boys will be boys, guys, all right? I know all about that.
Yeah, that's not good. We've worked through it. They work through it. They're still together. Who cares? People make mistakes. People make mistakes. Oh, yeah, I know people make mistakes. You guys all in Perfect Town? No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Tiger doesn't change his stripes. Yes, he does. There's a tiger who would change stripes. I changed my stripes. I changed my stripes. But, you know, hey, listen. She's got fright. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, it sounds like she does. You're probably on a break. Yeah, I bet they were on a break. Kevin did not mention that yesterday. Yeah, weird that he didn't, but hey. Give you life history. We're talking about now. He was so long ago, and we worked through it. I mean, I love him very much. I mean, this happened before. Is he, look, Brooke, Brooke, is he the one? He could be the one. How do you know? How do you ever really know is my question. Well, you know that phrase? When you know, you know. You know, you ever heard this one? When it's right, it's right. You ever heard this one? Only fools rush in. Three years is rushing? I don't think three years is rushing. Six weeks is rushing. Six days is rushing. Yeah. Fools rush into three years? Have you ever heard this one? Sleep on it.
For a week. Was she Rip Van Winkle? She's been sleeping 1100 days. She's got a beard now, dude. Sleeping beauty. Yeah. Okay, how about this one? I just knew. I just knew. When I saw him, I knew. Yeah. Love it first. That happens in the movies, you clowns. I can say I just knew that he was the person I wanted to move in with. Oh, wow. That's got to feel... That feels amazing, I bet. I bet you just want to pick up an acoustic guitar, Kevin, and just write a song about it. Oh, yeah. That'd be a great song right now. Yeah, here's how it would go. Check this out. I, but I can't get married I've been living with a girl named Brooke for the last three years She's been treating me like the guy that she thinks is another guy's girlfriend. And I don't know why she's doing this, but she's treating me bad. All I know is that I ain't like her dad. Whoa. It's a heavy message. It's a heavy, heavy message. That was Steve. Thanks for that.
He's like, I'll be at the bar if anybody needs me out in Chula Vista. Well, when do you think that you can know, Brooke? Because I do think he can't wait. Well, I mean, I'd like to say something to Kevin because I know he feels, he's obviously upset with me. And Kevin, I know this is unfair to make you wait. And I'm sorry about that. But I promise that I can have an answer for you soon. I mean, I... You know how I am. I need to think things through. Live on the radio. Live on the radio. Live on the radio. Live on the radio. Say it! Wait a minute. We're going to take a couple calls. M1, Monica from Mira Mesa. I just wanted to say I have gone with my boyfriend recently, who's actually John from National City that just called it, and I went to see engagement rings with him, and when I saw the ring, I knew that was it. He's like the one. You know that. She didn't know though. You know that, right, Monica? She didn't go shopping. She didn't go ring shopping. Like all of a sudden, boom, he just put a ring in front of her. She thought she was just going to have some lettuce wraps. Yeah. Right. Well, you know, like it's almost like a convenience that they're just living together. Like I think it's more of a convenience, more of a roommate situation. Oh, wow. Oh, boy.
She doesn't want to commit to buying a cow just yet because this free milk is really tasty. Yes. At least what I'm thinking, it's more than roommates because, I mean, the relationship feels like it's there. It's more than roommates to me. Listen. It's not roommates. Listen, Kevin, I hate to be the one to say this, but she doesn't have to buy your milk. If she's getting it for free. Yes, Kevin. In what world is anyone getting this alleged free milk anyway? Or when is anyone ever considering buying a cow? So come on. Trust me, he's paying for that milk. You want the milk. You want the milk. You get the milk, but you gotta buy the cow. You can get milk free everywhere. You don't just give that milk away. Milk is never free. Milk? You can go to PB and there's all kinds of free milk. Yeah, but if you want milk from a particular cow. It always has a price. What about chocolate milk, L.O.B.? I would like some chocolate milk. At least the milk is cheaper than a ring. Chocolate milk's delicious. Listen, she doesn't want to marry you, Kevin, because she gets to make love to you for free. I don't think that's... That is a guy thing. It probably is a guy bit. Yeah, totally. Listen, why would I marry her? I'm slaying her anyway. She's being cautious.
Because she's been a little bit jaded. You're overthinking it. I think Kevin feels pressure, like, from, I mean, society wants people to get married, but who says, I mean, there's plenty of people that live together their entire lives and have common law marriages, but they never actually have to, you know, sign it on paper. They still have committed relationships. It's a pretty good tax break, though. I'll tell you that right now. Do you want to ever get married, Brooke, or are you just not? I mean, I'm just, I'm... Marriage is a little scary to me. You're just jaded. I've never really talked about it. And, yeah, it's just hard. I mean, that's a big step. And I've seen a lot of my friends get cold feet walking down the aisle or they've gotten divorced within the first five years. And I just don't want to do that with Kevin. I mean, I just care about him a lot. And I don't want to put him in a situation where I'm feeling any sort of unsureness. And I say, like, yeah, I can commit to this. All right, one last question. One last question. In all honesty. Is this a decision that you think that you'll make within the next few days, or do you think it's a decision that you'll make within the next few weeks, or what do you genuinely think? I feel incredibly bad about the hurt that he's going through right now, and I do care about him and love him a lot, so for his sake I will decide in the next couple days just because I know that he must not be feeling very good right now, so I have to decide. That's the fair thing to do. One last question for me.
Do you think that there's just going to be like a light bulb that goes off or do you think you're going to, are there like steps you're going to go through? What's happening over these days? What's your process? What is she doing? What are you doing? That's what, if I were Kevin, I would ask. I would wonder, like, well, what is going on during these days? Like, what do you ponder? And do you have a time set aside where you're like, oh, it's three o'clock. This is the hour that I think about Kevin and spending the rest of my life with him. No, I'm thinking about it all day. I just don't know how every time we bring it up or, you know, we're in the room and it's like getting to that point where we know we're going to start talking about it. You just happen to come up with something to do. And it seems like it happens all the time. You haven't brought it up since. We haven't talked about it since. We haven't talked about it, but every time it's... He's a little wounded. Yeah, he's hurt. I think you have to bring it up. Are you guys still doing it? No, I know, I know. I saw it.
The ring is beautiful. The proposal was great. Kevin, I just don't want to say yes and then, you know, not be totally ready for such a big step. So I'm saying that it's a possibility. I'm just saying when I say yes, I want to be sure about it. I just wish you were sure about it now. Woods has a question. I just forgot my question. He's waving his arm. No, Kevin. No, no, I have a question. Go ahead. Kevin. So let's say Sunday afternoon rolls around and she comes in and she sits down and says, you know what? I've thought about it. I've processed it. I've internalized it. I've used all the bit words that I can think of to tell you what I've done. But God's honest truth is I don't think I can marry you. What are you going to do? You packing your stuff? You guys still going to live together? You still going to date? How does that go? Wow. And that's crossed my mind. Sure. It would have to if she didn't say yes. It's a possibility. He hasn't gotten there yet. You love her. And, Brooke, I know you love him. I know that this is your process and this is what you guys are going through. I get that. I get it big time. But if you end up not marrying him, Kev, do you guys think you'll stay together? Kev. That's my boy, Kev. You don't know Kev. K-Bone. K-Bone. No, you don't. K-Dog, do you think you guys will stay together? K-Dizzler. You and B-Love? K. Yeah.
Are you and B-Diz going to work this out at some point, or do you think that it would have to be over? Because the bedazzler has put you through enough the last five to six days. Brewdog is just like... She's killing you with it. I'm going to have to say that I feel like it'll be over. I feel like the relationship is just going to be over. It's an ultimatum. It's a reverse ultimatum. Everything. That's fair. It's fair. You should get in there and knock it out one more time. I can't turn... No, you can't. I can't turn his mic off. I don't have control over it. I can't, even if I wanted to. All right. Brooke? We love you. We love you guys. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You guys should talk about it. Talk about it? Not on the radio. Not on the radio. We've opened it up. Yeah. Yeah, we definitely will. Okay. Hey, and Kevin, please call us back. Let us know.
And, Brooke, tell your new boyfriend what's up. Oh, stop it. You can get married on the air in here. I can tell you. She's not going to buy the fish if she's getting the pole for free. That's right. I don't know what that means. Can I turn his – is it possible for me to turn his mic off? No, you can't turn his mic off. All right, Kev. Thank you. And thank you, Brooke. Thank you, guys. You guys are good sports. No problem. Thanks, guys. You're very good sports. Good luck to you in your upcoming or not nuptials. Thank you. Bye, guys. Wow. I'm drained. Heavy. I'm bad for both of them. I do, too. I feel terrible. That's a no-win. I feel like she's going to say yes. I do, too. I hope so. That's the entire reason I was able to have that much fun with them, because I think she's going to say yes. I do, too. I do, too. Because can I just say this? If you make someone wait six days and you say no, you're a monster. No. Yes, you are. Yeah, you are. With three heads. And talons. Yeah, giant talons. How do I feel so out of sorts? What's the matter? I don't know if I woke up too late or something. I turned my alarm off instead of snoozing this morning. You did? Yep. It was 10 minutes late. I'm all discombobulated. Me too. I feel like $100. Hey, today's Lauren's dad's birthday. Yes, it is. Yay.
Happy birthday, Mr. Dad. Happy birthday, Dad. Four guys laid up on the couch. Turning 42 today. Yep. Not bad. Young. What's wrong with him? Young guy. He had knee surgery a little while ago. I bet you he's enjoying his time. He is going insane. Is he going nuts? Really? He can't sit still. First day I talk to him, he's just like, ah, it's the worst. You guys know me as a pretty antsy dude, right? Mm-hmm. When we were on vacation, I sat on the couch for two weeks straight and didn't move. And loved every... It was so bad my neck was starting to hurt. I could enjoy it. My dad can't sit still. When I had my surgery, it was like being on vacation. Yeah. Really? It was... Just relax. I didn't have to do anything. No, nothing. I didn't have to do anything. He relaxes from fixing things around the house, running errands, going to the gym. Let's talk to you. My name's Mike Esparza. That's Steve Woods. That's Lauren O'Brien. Sienna Farrar is also on the show. Jay Isbell's in the other room. And it's Krause. It's Krause. He's our phone screener. I don't know that my real name has ever been said on the air before. It has. Like once. It was said earlier today in a Conan O'Brien clip. Fair enough. That's right. M1 Donnie from Carlsbad. What was the word of the day? Discombobulated. Very well done.
I didn't expect your voice to be like that, Donnie. That's right. D-O-N-I? Is that the deal? D-A-W-N-I-E. There you go. Donnie. Donnie. Donnie. There you go, Donnie. How old are you? I'm old enough. You don't worry about it. Not supposed to ask that. Until the break of break of Donnie. Thank you. That's kind of rude to ask. I know. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Donnie, what is your bust? Hey, what? No, I'm sorry. My bad. Goodness. How much do you weigh? Don't do it, Jay. How much do you weigh? Don't do it. Jay, keep your hands off the buttons. Hang on the line, please, Donnie. Hang on the line. Hang on. Okey dokey. Okay. Just going to slit our throats. A couple cocktails to support it, I think. Really? No. A couple Bloody Marys. She just had some energy. A couple Bloody Marys real good. Get your day going. Give it a break, will you? Man, that sounds nice. Why don't you give it a break? Why don't you give it a break? Why don't you give it a break? It's killing me. It's killing me. Wow. How long has it been? Dude, come on. 45 minutes, Woods. I'm sorry, man. Such a D. Watch this. Now you're going to just do it because you know I hate it. I'm loving it. Every time it plays, I love it more. Well, if that's the case. Oh, my God.
She's dancing in my face. Oh, yeah. Gangster dancing. Gangster. She is straight up gangsta dancing on Woodsy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. That was awesome. I had to turn the tables on him. He always does that to me. He does. He dances. So uncomfortable. I won't do it anymore. I love the Cat Crack song. Oh, yeah. I can't get enough of cat crack. It's so high, bro. Yeah, Woods is like, you know, it's just, I don't know, man. It's not that smart. Really? Literature major? What are you doing over there? I just finished my latest Sedaris novel and I heard cat crack and just thought it was so lame. Oh, my gosh. They'd never play that in Istanbul where I originally... When I was smoking in my hookah. I spoke the language. Spoke the language. You two are a bunch of idiots. Plebians. Yeah, hey, Mikey. Don't you play another cat crowd? Go ahead, yeah, idiot. Here it comes. Moron. Oh, yeah. You ever heard of George Carlin? Yeah. Cyrus Levin. Tuner. So stupid. So dumb. Kill me. Oh, my gosh.
Should recite some poetry instead. That's right. 18th century French poetry. That's right. 18th. 18th. Not 16th, but 17th. 18th century poetry. So do you guys know who Antoine Dodson is? Oh, yeah. The hide your wife, hide your kids guy? Yeah. Oh, yeah. This guy was on an actual news report. It was an actual news report. They were doing a story, I guess, on... An intruder. An intruder. Yeah, there was an intruder going around this neighborhood and, like, I guess, attempting to rape women. So this was on the news. Well, obviously, we have a rapist in Lincoln Park. He's climbing in your windows. He's snatching your people up, trying to rape them. So y'all need to hide your kids, hide your wife, and hide your husband because they're raping everybody out here. Okay, now... This became a viral video. And it was very, very, you know, people were finding it to be very, very funny. They auto-tuned it. They auto-tuned it. Weird. Yeah. And now I had the opportunity to play it. And I said, I don't know if we can play it because it's talking about rape. Like six weeks ago. Yeah. And I even said, I go, you know, guys, sometimes rape just isn't funny. That's what you said. Sometimes. Sometimes.
Get the irony there. But anyway, so this thing is a viral video, right? And they've auto-tuned it and they've made it in. Because what the deal is is, oh, can't you sort of see the humor in the way he says it? Obviously, we have a rapist in Lincoln Park. He's climbing in your windows. He's snatching your people up, trying to rape them. So y'all need to hide your kids, hide your wife, and hide your husband because they're raping everybody out here. It's incredible. Now, Christine O'Donnell. Oh, boy. I'm not a witch. Christine O'Donnell. Running for governor of Maryland? Delaware. Delaware. Same thing. No, no, no. She's running for Senate in Delaware. I'm an idiot. She's running for Senate in Delaware. It's Sienna coming back. She's running for... County treasurer of London. Of London. Yeah. Of Istanbul. She's going to be the new athletic director at the University of Maryland. That's right. That's right. I got it. For the Terps. Yeah. Crab cakes and football. So she's got an ad right now and she sort of like puts a reference to that. She does a bit with it. She kind of does a bit with it in her ad. One man who was county executive.
She's talking about her opponent. So do you think that she is? Oh, yeah. Heck yeah. She's trying to be like funny and appeal to. The younger generation? Yeah, exactly. The YouTube generation? Yes, I agree. I wonder if she opens herself up to the opportunity. See, it's one thing for me, because I'm like, you know, we're comics. We're doing funny stuff on the radio. Trying, yeah. We're trying to be funny on the radio. We're clowns for a living. We're clowns. Yeah, big clowns. She's a politician, so I wonder if somebody could genuinely say to her, you know, sometimes rape just isn't funny. Yeah, exactly. Well, I think maybe she was parodied on SNL. She's like, hey, if this whole Delaware thing doesn't work out, then maybe I can get a Dancing with the Clowns deal. The next Sarah Palin. Yeah, exactly. The book deal, the whole thing. She's trying to follow Sarah Palin's footsteps real good. It could be. I mean, maybe that is exactly what she's doing. Yeah, but that's probably not... It's probably not one of those pop culture references you really want to incorporate into your thing. We should play the auto-tuned version of it just so our audience can hear.
The difference. Do we have it? I can find it real quick. Okay. I agree. 1,000%. In the meantime. Oh, my God. I defy you to get that out of your head today. Consider yourself defied. You can't. There's no way. I've got Tom Waits in my head now. Really? There's no way you can get through the rest of the day without. I know. I'll be driving along. I have Nietzsche in my head at all times, you moron. I'm quoting Nietzsche here, idiot. Usually I quote Nietzsche, but because of your stupid show, I drive home addicted to cat crack. I was trying to go over the Play-Doh notes in my head, and I just can't seem to get through it. You're drowning out my Socrates. Yes. I was going to have my Socrates Club tonight. It's called... It's rather humorous.
You're always missing one Socrates. See? Funny. That's funny. That's funny humor. That's funny. See, that's highbrow. That is highbrow. Don't you hate it when you're always missing one Socrates? I agree. 5701949 is our number. Let's see. I had to tell you about... Hey, go to createyourdesignonline.com. Check out our boy Jared. He has the coolest deals going on for you right now. As far as graphic design, there is no better high-end stuff. He is the bomb. Did my business cards, which I've given out three. I have one. I have one as well. Yeah, and the other one my wife has. I have a lot of use for my business cards, but I have to have a business card. It looks phenomenal in my wallet. Yeah.
I have a stack of them in my wallet. Just ready to give them out? I was 100% sure that I needed them. Do you ever buy stuff you don't need? You'll need it. If by that you mean like every Pixar movie that's ever been released? Pretty much every movie that's ever been released that you've never watched. Do you know what Talking Through the Baby is? Yes. I think I do. When we come back, And if you think you know, we'll talk about it. See if it irritates you. We'll do that. This band will be playing live in our studio. Cutlass. When is that again? Do you know? What is that? When is that? Do you know? The date will be November. Hang on. Sorry. Put you on the spot real good. I know. I don't know. I think it's November 12th. Yeah, I do know. I do know. It'll be Friday, November 12th. I won't be here. Damn it.
You won't be here. I know. I miss all the good stuff. I'm doing two concerts in two days. I know. Look at you. I'm doing the Cutlass show, which if you want to get tickets for the Cutlass show, that was Cutlass that I just played. They'll be playing here in the studio. And it's to raise money for Outside the Bowl. That's the organization that I'm going with to Haiti in the beginning of November, which is a really, really... Cool thing. They feed little kids. I can't wait to hear your stories, man. I know. So if you'd like to get tickets to see Cutlass, I'll be there that night hanging out with you, rocking out with you. Concert starts at 7. If you would like to buy tickets and all the money going to Outside the Bowl, all you need to do is go to OutsideTheBowl.org. OutsideTheBowl.org. And that's Friday night. Then, Saturday night, I'm going to be singing with the FM 94.9 band. That is rad. The anniversary bash. The anniversary bash, which is going to be great. It's going to be at 4th and B downtown. That's the next night, the 13th. The Hold Steady, the Night Marchers, New Politics, and a new band has been added as well.
Tickets are $26, no additional fees. Dollar out of every ticket sold is going to the About the Music Fund, which helps support music education right here in San Diego County Public Schools, which is really cool. That's awesome. So if you want, get the tickets right now. You can get them online at fm949sd.com. Get out there and support your boy Mike. Guy's going to be shredding on stage for you. Sweetly. You just made me so nervous. You're going to be on stage, man, singing. Oh, wow. You know? Don't. That's going to be. Stop. It's Company of Thieves is the other band that has been added. Company of Thieves, The Hold Steady, The Night Marchers, and New Politics. And Mike Esparza. At the FM 94.9 8th Anniversary Bash. With Mike Esparza. like to just get into gang fights and like flowers and singing at the anniversary bash with Garrett and Hillary and L.O.B. on November 13th at 4th and B. Mexican Americans like to go see Cutlass and have them play in the studio and support outside the bowl and buy up a product. Wow.
You can get tickets to that at OutsideTheBowl.org. I think I just did the worst Mexican-American accent ever. Quite possibly. This is pretty funny. You guys know Rob Zombie directs movies. Horror movies, right? Scary. Yeah, horror movies. Weird with a name like Zombie. I know. Well, he directed an episode of CSI Miami. Oh, wow. And he said... My wife's seen it. I bet she has. I also got to ask you about directing CSI Miami. Oh, yeah. That's the response I expected. Longest three weeks of my life. Longest three weeks of my life. Wow. Just throwing people under the bus. That's the one with David Caruso. Caruso? What was that like? Not easy. You are so honest. I started off, I'll be honest, I started off being enthusiastic. I'll get this to work. And by the last day,
I was sitting, I wouldn't even get up from the chair. I was sitting behind the monitor. He'd be like, how was that? I go, I don't give a s***. Wow. Let me just tell you. First of all, David Caruso, I believe, is a brilliant actor. The problem is, David Caruso has bright red hair. Why is that a problem? I'll tell you why. Because there isn't a lot of call for leading men in Hollywood. that have bright red hair and freckles. Yeah, you get the supporting role usually. You get a supporting role. Caratop. Snatch, wasn't that guy redheaded? It wasn't the lead actor. No, I guess he wasn't. Not a leading man. Napoleon Dynamite. He's not redheaded, is he? And that's a comedy. And he was redheaded. He was? I thought he was blonde. Napoleon Dynamite? Yeah, he's got blonde hair. Anyway. You guys know what red means, right? Yeah, I know what the color of red. Are you sure? Crazy in bed.
Red. Can I shut Jay's microphone off? Is that possible or it's not possible? It's not possible. You can talk to the engineers and see if they can hook you up. I did. I did, but they said the way that this is configured, we can't. And I said, that's a problem. Weird thing is I can shut off your mic. He can shut my mic off. Do it real quick. He can shut it off. Oh, boy. There, thank you. Wow. But anyway, yeah, David Caruso refuses. Refuses. He's not going to change. He's a clown. He's not going to change his hair color. He's not going to change his look. He's not going to change. He doesn't have to. Now, the bottom line is that he's going to work in television on the show CSI. He tried to make his break into movies years ago with a movie called.
Jade. It was terrible. It was god awful. Sounds good. Lauren, it is not good. It was so bad. Nicolas Cage was awful in it. Weird. The movie was terrible. You know what other movie he was in? Rambo. Oh, yes. He played a skinny cop. No, he was in First Blood. Yeah, the first one. Yeah, First Blood. Yeah, he was a skinny cop. Skinny cop. That's right. He was on some good show that he quit to go do that movie. Yeah, NYPD. Oh, that's right, yeah. He's like, you know what? I've done. I've done enough here. I can only go so far. I'm going to go to movies. Dude, I do think he's a good actor. Come on. You don't think he is? No. See, I really do, man. He's the king of the over-actor. That's what I think, too. Here's Dave Caruso reading this news story. The investigation into Zahara Baker. The hearing-impaired 10-year-old in North Carolina. I mean, he can't. He just over-acts so bad. I like it. And there are other guys, I think, that do that that are thought of to be real awesome. Robert De Niro. Guy ever overact? He does. He's brilliant, though. He overacts, bro. Yeah, he does. No, Pacino does. Pacino does. Pacino does. Pacino does. They both do. My best Pacino. You're out of order. Can't see too well. Is it Craig Gass over here? That was Al Pacino. Are you going to be a fourth and B this weekend? So, here he is. More on Caruso.
I was so beat down by the process. I heard that he, in terms of direction, he cannot do two things. Like, he can't talk and pick up something. So when he's walking through a doorway, when he has to say something, they have to have him walk through a doorway without talking, and then they dub it in. No, this was like the funniest stuff. I'm not, whatever, who cares. 99.9% of all of the people I've worked with, but it was just weird. No, it'd be like, okay, so this scene, he'll drive up and get out of the car. David's not great with driving. No. I was like, okay. We won't have him drive up. He'll already be parked. He'll step out there. Not good with doors. Sounds like a giant prima donna. Oh, yeah. That was the wrap. Even back in the movie days. I've heard that. Yeah. Don't you have to be good to be a prima donna? Well, I don't think he should be a prima donna no matter what. But I disagree. The guy won Emmys when he was doing NYPD Blue. The guy is a good actor. The problem is... You know, he's difficult to work with. He was good. Yeah. Was he? I thought he was good, and then I saw him in this show, and I thought, wow, what an over-actor. Even though he just takes his sunglasses off. I got to agree. You know, I saw an episode, because I was a big fan of his when he was on NYPD Blue. I thought he was the coolest dude. Me too. I did, man. I thought he was really a good actor, and I thought that that character was great, and so did America, man. I mean, the guy won Emmys. He won me over. He won me over. I wouldn't.
Go so far as to say he's the coolest dude. Oh, I thought he was. I mean, back in the day when he was on that show. Yeah, Dennis Franz was also a cool dude on that show. Dennis Franz wasn't known as a real cool dude on that show. But Caruso's character, he was. Rogue cop. But can you imagine this? First of all, he believes that he should be in motion pictures. Right. And probably winning Oscars. Yeah. The guy that is the lead singer of white zombie shows up and is gonna direct him And he's got purple hair and pink hair and blue hair black fingernails black fingernails You know he looks like Elvira and Caruso is probably like That's the guy they saddled me with. Do they know who the hell I am? This is who's directing my art. I'm the talent. This is my craft. I'll direct myself. Yeah, I don't need a director. I direct me. I direct me. Do this easy way or hard way. And we'll just sit in there. Sitting. Not really good with sitting. I'm like, well, so basically what he's good with, he'll come in, he'll find a hero shot. Yeah. Yeah. And we'll.
block the entire scene around him standing in front of whatever, Mount Rushmore. I'm going to show up tomorrow. Your call time is actually 9 a.m., Dave, if you could make it. You hard of hearing? I'm going to tell you one more time. I'm not hard of hearing. I'm just a key grip. I'm a key grip. I'm a key grip, whatever the hell that is. I'm actually best boy. I don't give a crap if you're best boy, key grip, or craft services. My name is Steve. I used to work on the Mikey Show. Do you know what my name is? Dave Caruso. Yeah, David. I'm sorry, David. Mr. Caruso. That's right. I call you Big Red. Oh, right. A real hot shot. I got a mouth. How about a knuckle sandwich for you? Oh, really? Yeah. We call the director over here. You never work again. Are you a big telephone tough guy? I'll be here tomorrow, 3 o'clock. I'm going to work for 40 minutes, okay? Okay. You are going to bring me some ice cold water. Okay. I can do that? Yeah. It's going to be in a sealed container because I don't trust you. I can do that. More like your greasy hands. They're not greasy. I'm Caucasian, actually. Take your hat off. Caucasian, my hat? Take the hat off. Okay.
Hats off. Caucasian. You wired right now? No, I'm not wired. I'm a key grip. For TMZ? No. You work for TMZ. For what network we on? Bernie. CBS? Who is this? I'm a key grip. I told you. I'm a key grip. You're a key grip. I am a key grip. You can call me KG. I'm going to call you KG. KG, do me a favor. Yep. Why don't you run your chubby little self over to Dunkin' Donuts for me? Okay. I can do that. Give me a cup of coffee. Iced. Iced coffee. So you're homosexual. Okay, really? We're going to go. We're going to fight, me and you, right now. Working with David Caruso. We just do a segment every day called Working with Kevin Caruso. I could do that all day. David Caruso? Did you say Kevin? Did I say Kevin Caruso? First you said David, and then you said Kevin. It's his brother. I have two personalities operating in my head at all times. Kevin, who's nice in me, he's also a math abate.
And then me, David. Okay. Which one are we talking to? I'm straight. Okay. I'm David. All right. I'll get your donuts and iced coffee. Yeah, you're not back yet. I'm on my way. I have a story. I will not tell you who this is. I will not tell you. Won't you? No, I won't. I will tell you off the air. Okay, you won't tell them. I'm not going to tell listeners. Sorry, guys. And the reason that I'm not is because it isn't fair. It isn't fair. True story. The reason why is you don't have a giant bus that you're ready to throw this person under. I don't want to. But I will tell the story. I will tell the story. And I wish that the guy that it happened to could be here to tell you the story. Here's what we're going to do. I'm going to take a quick time out. And when we come back, I'm going to tell you the story. It is one of the craziest stories of... ego and crazy like mean wackiness. When I tell you the story, you'll go that can't be true. That can't be true. But it is. What's the consensus on Coldplay? That they're awesome. If I could sing like that and play piano, that's all I do.
day long. I think the guy's kind of ridiculous on stage, though. He's jumping around. He gives it a little over the top. I've seen him a few times. He's a really good live. It's one of those albums I can listen to. They've been declining for me, man. Every record has gotten worse, I think. Yeah, but like Parachutes. Great. Yeah. You can listen to the whole album over and over again. I was in Dallas and one of the DJs on, remember Ayo? Handed me this. He goes, you're going to like this. Before it came out. I put it in. I was like, holy crap, dude. That is incredible. Loved it. There you go. Goosebumps. Cool words, too. Great lyricist. I knew it. I knew it. Chris Martin worshiper. Can you get any more mainstream, please? What's the matter, Mikey? Miley Cyrus busy today? Gonna go to Staples Center to see them? You're gonna pay a...
Servicing press. Service charge on a ticket. Service charge. You knew what I meant, plebe. Let me guess. You're going to sign on to ticketmaster.com? What's the haps on the newest Jay-Z record, Mike? Yes. Please thrill me with your breakdown of Eminem. Why don't you just quote me a review from Rolling Stone? The biggest commercial sellout magazine of them all. Annie Leibovitz. What spit? Why don't you talk about the White Sandals? That's a real band. Granted, nobody's ever heard of them yet, and they're in a garage in Detroit, but who cares? And if they ever become popular and sell over a million records, I'll talk about what plebes they are. Story, your story, your story. I want to hear it. So this DJ works overnights, and...
The morning guy. I will not tell you who the morning guy was. Different town. It was a different town. It wasn't me. And the guy that this happened to was a guy named, coincidentally, Krause. And so this morning guy walks into the studio. And every morning he would come in, he would not talk to the guy. The guy that was there on the mic doing nights. The guy that was there doing overnights. Overnights, sorry. The guy in the shift before him. The shift before him. He'd come in and he wouldn't talk to him. Jerk. And so he comes in and he goes, where's your keys? He says to the overnight guy, where's your keys? And he goes, in my pocket. And he goes, let me see them. And he hands him his keys and the morning guy tosses them back to him. And goes, move your car, you're in my space. Oh my gosh. Imagine going through the process of, where's your keys? Right, right. Let me have your keys. Tossing the keys. So I can throw them at you. So I can toss them at you and say, move your car, you're in my space. So the whole walk from the car up to the studio, he was plotting like. This is what I'm going to do. How can I embarrass and mortify this guy? I'm going to get you. I'm going to get you.
And so he did. What a jerk. He went and moved his car. You know, that doesn't happen to you. The guy that doesn't park in the space. Park in the talent space. Oh, no. Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow. I'll tell you one thing. If I had my own spot here, some clown parked in it. But I bet it wasn't his own space. I know. It was just a space that he liked to park his car. No, I bet you it was his space. I don't think. I mean, I've never known anymore in his show to have his own parking space. This guy would have his own space. I got to reach out to this guy. You got to find out. The deal is that I'd be mad. I know he told me. I know he's told me. And I just don't remember. If it was a designated space, the overnight Chris would not have parked in his spot. Who would do that? I've worked with a ton. I actually had an engineer do that to me one time. I got there really early, parked my car, and he came in to where I was working. He's like, hey, you parked in my space. I was like, what do you mean? It's not marked. He's like, no, no, it's just known that's where I parked. We all kind of have a spot that we all park in.
But if you beat me here. Yeah, but still. If somebody beats me, I would never be like, move your car. We're not this guy, but I'm saying we all kind of are like, hey, that's my spot. I got to tell you, though. I got to tell you. I know this guy, and I know the city in which he comes from, and I know if he had his own designated space, I'd be pretty steamed about it, too. Well, I don't think he did. So would you. So would you. I don't think he did. If he did, I'm saying I'd be pretty steamed. Let's say he did. Let's say for argument's sake, he had his own spot. L-O-B. You pull in, and there's... Chris, our guy that answers the phones, and he's parking your spot, you'd be like, hey, pal, you need to move your car. Oh, yeah. Oh, I would definitely tell him to move his car. If it was my dedicated space and then I had to go park like three levels up. Yeah. Okay, hang on. If it said L-O-B on it. Let's discuss. Let's talk. Let's talk because I'm guessing that if you have your own space. it's come with some sort of an agreement. Like, hey, you get your own space. Got your name on it. Which means that it was important to you. Yes. That's something that you wanted. It was negotiated as part of your contract. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. And so you've negotiated. You've got to get in on this conversation. You've got to get in on this, Hillary. Hi, Hill.
Did you hear any of this story? Yeah, let me see your keys. Yeah! Because now Woods, this is where you probably didn't hear, but Woods was saying, hey, listen, if I had an assigned space and somebody parked in, I'd be mad. Okay, so we're talking through this. Now, like we have acknowledged, if you've got your own space, it's because you've gone through the steps to, like, negotiate it. You've earned it, my friend. You've somehow earned the right. Okay, whatever, but it's your space. Got your name. If somebody parks in it, my first reaction is not that they purposefully disregarded blah, blah, blah. And even if I did, even if I thought, okay, they purposefully disregarded it, I think first go around, first time, like, is not time to break out the bat. No. No, not the bat. Definitely not. But you say something. I would say something. Yeah.
I think that if it were me, the way that I would say it is, do you drive the the, you know, blue Beamer or the blue Mazda or the blue whatever it is? And they go, yeah. And you go, hey, man, not to be weird, but that I got the space like that's part of my thing is I got this space. And if part of the reason the person had the space, the the morning guy was because the parking garage is a nightmare, as we all know. You're going to be late for your shift. So part of what you got negotiated was, I need a space because it's a headache. So I want my space. And so if you come in, now you're late. Now you're driving around in circles. You know how if your morning routine got thrown off, Mike. That was part of the guy's routine. Listen, what I'm not down with, though, is the... His approach. Even if you scale it a thousand times back, what are you okay with, Woods? Let's run through the routine. I'm the overnight guy. Just shut the mic off. Hey, buddy. Hey, dude. Hey. First time you said anything to me. Oh, I'm sorry. Just kind of busy in the morning. I got a number one show here trying to work through it. Oh. Hey, listen. Just FYI.
There's a spot downstairs that I park in, and it actually has my name on it. It says Woods on it. So you drive the Trailblazer, right? Yeah, and dude, you know what? I'm sorry. No biggie. No biggie. I just want to let you know. You usually don't show up until like two minutes before your shift. Just want to let you know, and you're usually gone by that time. No big deal. I'm usually gone. I just want to let you know that it does got my name on it. Yeah, yeah. And dude, as long as, you know, if you want to park there for a little while, have a ball until things open up. That's fine with me. I'd like it open when I pull in, if that's cool. Yeah, yeah. I'm not trying to be Elton John. I know. Don't argue with me, though. Don't argue. I don't want to be Elton John, but it does have my name on it. Yeah. It doesn't say Elton John. It says Woods. I know. It says Woods on there. It says Woods on there. And I'm usually out of there. I'm so sorry. I wouldn't be that bad, FYI. But I would say, hey, man, you parked in my spot. No, I wouldn't. I wouldn't. I think you would if the person was rationalizing. Let's do it. Oh, I would be super sweet about it. Let's see. I'd be like, hey. First of all, I never would be the girl that didn't say hi to the guy. Right. Okay, so let's say we did. Hey. Hey. Sorry. So you drive that trailblazer. Uh-huh. Did you know you parked in my space? The question. She just shamed you because she questioned you. That was so chilly. Oh, it's chilly. Did you know that you did? She's like a mom. I figured you probably didn't know because you wouldn't.
You wouldn't do that. Nobody would ever do that. Oh, I mean, it would take a complete moron to do that. No, I mean, I figured you, like, you wouldn't do, I know you didn't do it on purpose. No, no, no, I didn't. No, no, no, I did, but I thought that you would be, because sometimes you get here, like, right before, and I'm gone. Yeah, I do, I do, I do. And I'm usually gone. Yeah, I just, I had a lot of work I wanted to get done this morning. It was part of, like, I negotiated in my contract because. I'm just weird if my routine gets thrown off in the morning. I'm just like crazy. Yeah. Oh, so you're like Nike. Do you mind, whenever you finish up here, do you mind just moving it? Because I'm actually, I'm parked in a handicap spot with my emergency blinkers on. Well. Just wait. There's no spots. Is it cool if we just wait until my shift is over? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Finish up whatever you need to do. But then how are you going to get? The quicker, the better. It would be good. Hopefully I don't get a ticket. We'll cross that bridge when I come to you. You're going to park it for me when you go down to move your car. Go ahead and move mine into the spot. I'm not kidding. I'm not kidding. I'm not kidding. I think he did. I think he did. I'll get him. I'll reach out to him. I'll get him on the air.
And I'll tell him, I don't want to say who it was. Right. Because the person is famous. I almost said his name. I know. Holy cow, I almost said his name. The person is famous. I love you. I know. Craziness. Yeah. Crazy. Would you be mad? I mean, not mad, but you'd be like, oh, would your initial reaction be like this? Yeah, Hillary, would you be mad? Yeah, I mean, anybody would, I guess. would you go at that point if you have your own spot maybe you're a little spoiled by it and maybe I would be like dude you're used to it you might be running late but I would I would do I think what you said Mike like I would give them the benefit of the doubt and just be like hey it's no biggie but I need that spot because I need to get in here on time. It's funny we're talking about this because I just had to park on the fifth floor of the parking lot and had a conversation about parking on the way to the elevator with the women. How about this approach? It's so bad in our parking garage. Do you know who I am? Do you know who I am? How about this approach? Where's your keys? It's the worst. Let me see your keys. I want to see that.
and rough-talked him and run him off. Yeah. That's intimidating. He acted it out for me when he told me the story, and I was like, no way. It's so emasculating, too, because you know he probably had a million things he wanted to say back to him. Yeah. Go ahead, Woods. Breaking news, you guys. San Diego Chargers have placed linebacker Sean Merriman on the reserve injured. Injured reserve. I think, yeah, why would they say reserve injured? I don't know. It's IR. With a calf injury and a minor injury designation, it's a less than six-week injury, which means he's a six-year veteran. He must be released by the team when he becomes healthy, which... I don't get it either. I don't get it at all. What? Don't get it. They have to release him. What? Once he gets healthy. Pick him right back up, or I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. Maybe you get a better sports guy. I have no idea. Dude, I don't think anybody gets that. I don't get it. I don't get it. But he is out. He is out and done, looks like, for a while. So because he's hurt, he's off the chargers? Off the chargers, and they're going to have to release him once he's healthy. I don't understand why. Free agent? Tila Tequila's behind it. Yeah, probably. Right? Lovely and talented Hillary is up next. What do you got, Hill? What are you going to be doing? Ah, I grabbed Death Cab for Cutie and New Politics. One of the bands playing our 8th anniversary bash. Recommended music from Maximum Balloon. TV on the radio side project. Good stuff. There you go.
We'll come back tomorrow morning at six o'clock and do this again. Mikey shows out.
