Later, a caller praised the Steve Jobs biography, LOB played a drunk trivia game, the crew played Name That Tune with alternative songs, Woods shared a hilarious story about sharing a bed with his dad and uncle at Notre Dame, and Lieutenant Dave Bennett and Chief John Grote described their Bomb Patrol Afghanistan mission.

The P.O.D. Chargers song, because we play that after a victory, but they didn't win. Should have won. Didn't win. And your thoughts and feelings, of course, at 570-1949. And the text, 949mikey at gmail.com. Feel free to give us a call. And don't forget, we do something here called Word of the Day. Word of the Day is... When you listen for it during the show, I'll say it and I'll try to blend it in there and you'll barely notice that I said it. And when you do hear it, caller number nine, I'll give you a pair of tickets to see City and Color. Bam. Nice. At the House of Blues, November the 8th. So that's the word. The word today is bubble. All right. The word today is bubble. So be listening for it. I'm Mikey. I'm 41. And still go by Mikey. Although everyone calls me Mike. But, you know, the radio name I can't get rid of is Mikey. Woods is 36. And a very good friend who spent the weekend in South Bend, Indiana at the Notre Dame game. And has some deliciously incredible highlights from that weekend. I was laughing so hard. And my wife said, what are you laughing at?
I told her what Woods had texted me, and it was just, it was incredible. What are you doing? Where are you going? Oh, gosh. What are you doing? What is happening? I'm tornadic already. Huh? I screwed up something. Oh, boy. Sorry. Wow. Gosh, darn it. Gosh darn, Woods. Stupid idiot. Flips me out when he gets up and runs around. Typical Woods. I take care of business. He's running, he's running, he's running. Tornadic. Wow. He's tornadic. So tornadic. Very. Lauren O'Brien is the blonde girl sitting to my right. Otherwise known as LOB. And she is our assistant producer and a comedian. And Jay is our executive producer. He is 48? Yes. 48 years old. And a very funny man who is trying to start a new catchphrase. And the new catchphrase is my man. Oh, it's caught on. My man. Sounds natural. Yes. Very, right? It's my man. Yes.
But the way Jay says it, it's a little off. Try the man. He and I were texting this weekend. He'll use it in text. Oh, no, he didn't. Oh, yeah, he did. No, he didn't. Yeah, he did. Yeah, he did. Hey. Oh, Jay. And our phone screener is Chris. It's gross. That's gross. And he's a young guy, 22 years of age. Never been kissed. Oh, wow. Gosh, darn it. Yes, he has. Yes, he has. It was not a good day for the Chargers. No. They went in to New York and for a half looked pretty darn good. Yep. And then what? Well, we all thought that, you know, there's some smack talk this week. It was Rex Ryan saying, hey, if I'd been the coach here, I would have had a couple rings already. And, you know, we actually saw Norv Turner fire back. Yeah. And say, well, where are all those rings you've been guaranteed? So we thought they'd come out possessed, ready to kill. And you know what? They did. They had a nice lead. You know, one of the first plays of the game, I was getting ready to board the plane in Chicago. Sanchez throws, and we grab it right out of the dude's hands and run it back for a touchdown. I'm like, this is going to be a freaking blowout, man. We are fired up and ready to go. Well, man, it did not turn out that way. They lost 27-21, and it was an ugly loss. Shut out in the second half. Oh, boy. With all those weapons. Vincent Jackson.
15 yards receiving. Ryan Matthews did nothing. Nothing. Antonio Gates was a lead receiver. He's got a busted foot. Yeah, he at least scored a touchdown. Yeah, he scored a touchdown, cut five for 54 yards. He looked pretty good in his comeback. I hope he's okay. Do we know that he made it through the game and he's still okay? When I looked at the injury report this morning, the only injuries I saw on there were Ryan Matthews. He has a thumb now. There's a couple of things going on, but I didn't even see Antonio's name on there. So hopefully he's going to be ready for Monday night. But, dude, let's play the blame game. So Antoine Cason gets burned for three touchdowns from Plaxico. Yeah. Phillip Rivers throws two picks. One of them just juked out of his jaw. Out of his shoes, man. Yeah. Phillip Rivers throws two picks. You know, offense shut out in the fourth quarter. Coaching was terrible. Yeah. Penalties. Mike, penalties. 13 penalties. Oh, gosh. I highlighted it. Oh, boy. Here we go. 13 penalties for 95 yards. Oh, come on. That is more penalties that have been called against them in exactly three years.
Well, it isn't my fault. I don't play the game. I know you don't. I can't be out there for the players. All I can do is stay on the sideline and try to motivate. Well, with a 21-10 lead, why wasn't the foot on the accelerator, man? Well, you know, if you put your foot too far down, sometimes you jam your foot in your butt. That's what I tell the players. It doesn't make any sense. You know what I mean. I can't say the word, because you'll get fined by the FCC. We just like to see it beats a quality team. If you put the pedal down too hard to the metal, sometimes you'll burn your foot. You've heard that saying. No. But let's beat a quality opponent. That's a good idea. How about that? The teams that we've beaten, now listen, they are freaking frustrated. And there is no one more frustrated than my man. Phillip Rivers. It's a little bit of a long clip, but listen to the exasperation in this guy's voice. I don't know, and I don't know that it matters. I don't know that it matters, what we learned, other than something to fill up tomorrow morning's news. It doesn't matter. All I heard for six months was the regular season didn't matter. Now everybody wants to know it's a matter. We're 4-2, and we've been worse. We've been worse.
And, hey, we had a chance to win this game. No, we didn't. Poor guy. The ball was going to be kicked off on Monday night in Kansas City, whether we won it or lost it. I mean, we can sit here and think of a bunch of the reasons why. But, I mean, bottom line, I mean, we came out playing really well. And we just didn't finish off the game. We didn't play. If we had played the second half, if we had played the first half, it would have been a... two touchdown victory. But we didn't. Those were all yes and buts. But we're 4-2 and there's a long way to go. Women can understand this, but I don't think they can relate in the same way that guys can. And this is what I mean. For a woman, the way that she, you know, when she gets older, okay, just like you got a boy becomes a man. You got a girl becomes a woman. And for a woman, One of the things that's really important for her is to, if she gets married, is to keep her man happy, have a nice nest, the whole bit. If they have kids, that's their bit. For us guys, it's the providing. It's providing. So our job means a lot to us. Phillip Rivers must have one of those deals going on inside right now where he's like, this is my freaking job.
And I'm so frustrated because I want to win so bad. And it's not happening. Imagine this. Imagine you have a bad day on the show. I had what I consider a bad day on the show Friday. If I had to leave the show Friday, go get on a podium and have a bunch of people like M1's asking me questions. Why were you bad today? I would lose my mind. And you know me. I would kick the podium over. I would flip the table of drinks over and I'd walk out. Yeah. I can't imagine after throwing two picks. Listen, he's thrown nine picks this year. Whoever that is out there wearing number 17, that ain't Phillip Rivers that we know here. It's just he's lacking something. Something is missing. And I can't imagine having to go get on a podium and be like, what did I learn today? What did I freaking learn today? Oh, I learned that we didn't win. Yeah, I learned that we didn't win and we're still 4-2. Leave me alone. I would lose my mind. What is a possible answer to that stupid question? Seriously. Well, you know, I'll tell you what I learned. I learned how to bake a fondue. Right. I learned how to tie my shoes in a new way. I never didn't know how. I do a double knot now. Yeah. Well, I feel bad for him because I know he's a winner. He's a stud. The State Department in the United States asked Iraq if we could maintain presence there. And Iraq not only said no.
Thank you. They said, get out. And President Obama said the following. Today, I can report that as promised, the rest of our troops in Iraq will come home by the end of the year. After nearly nine years, America's war in Iraq will be over. Very low clap. Well, it's nice. I think it's awesome, right? I mean, it is awesome. They're coming home and that means a lot. To a lot of people. Absolutely. Because they're going to get to see their loved ones for Christmas and everything. I know what bothered you so much. What? I know what bothered you. Oh, stop it. I know what elicited that snarky look in your eye. As promised. That got you real good. Shouldn't he have said, as ordered? Becoming months...
Come on, don't get me. Come on, don't get me. Don't do it. Don't do it. Don't do it to me. I knew it. Another season of homecomings. We just had this thing at my church where the pastor's like, hey, listen, you got to honor your leaders. And that includes our president. I don't care what you are, whether you're Republican or you're Democrat. You support your leaders. And I believe that. I believe that. I believe that. I believe that. I believe that. I believe that. Just because you tell yourself you do doesn't mean you do. I do. I do. Most of the time you do. I will give you that. I do. But I just, I, when I heard that the State Department issued a statement saying that Iraq said, get out, all right, leave. Get the hell out of here. Okay. Imagine you get evicted from your house and you say. As promised, I'm moving out. He's damned if he does, he's damned if he doesn't. He did say, technically, that he was going to bring the troops home. Technically, yes, he did. There you go. And if he didn't ask if we could still occupy, then it would be like, hey, can't just leave unfinished business. I mean, it's just... He probably knew what the answer was going to be. Across America, our servicemen and women will be reunited with their families. Today, I can say that our troops in Iraq...
will definitely be home for the holidays. Well, that is awesome. It is awesome. And I cannot deny it. And I can't deny it, and I'm happy for the families that are going to get to work. It's the credit where... It's taking credit for something that, you know, it's tough. He didn't say as I promised. He said as promised. He said as promised. He said as promised. It was his promise. You know, he said he would do it. When he was first campaigning, he said he'd do it in the first 90 days. And then he... realize that's not really realistic. Yeah. So then he changed it to the first hundred days. But that is not realistic. And you know what? You live and learn, right? Yeah, you do. Especially in politics, you live and learn. Yeah. Pretty much in politics, here's the bit. You say whatever you want. I guess so. As long as you get in a deal, as long as you get to where you want to go, you're like, hey, listen, that was an oversight. I know. And I'm going to switch it up. I'll tell you what, man. It's true. I was looking this weekend at the GOP and I'm still, I'm still going.
I'm a Republican. I'm still like, gosh darn, there ain't nobody. There ain't nobody that I think is any good. You know? Nobody. M1AppleFreak from Mission Valley. Hi. Hey, how's going on, guys? What's up, dude? Not much. Mike, did you hear about the 60 Minutes interview with the guy that wrote Steve Jobs' book? Yes, sir. From many people. A lot of people were telling me about it. You know, I didn't see the episode. I've got a lot of clips to play, but one of the coolest things was how the iPad has done so much for kids with autism. Right, right. I was thinking about you the whole time. It was really touching. But I wish you had DVR did or something. Oh, it was epic. Yeah, yeah. You know, I was really kind of bummed, too, because when I woke up this morning, I was looking at the audio, 60 Minutes. None of it has the stuff about... autistic kids and the thing that Apple has done for them. But there is some really good stuff, man. Really good. Right, right. Are you going to buy the book? Oh, yeah. Yeah, I will. I had a Walmart at 12 o'clock last night. I bought it as soon as it came out. Oh, wow. You are Apple freak. You are M1 Apple freak. I'm a slow reader, so I'll probably read it in about two months. But, you know, at least I got it first. There you go. Did you cry when he passed away?
No, he's a big jerk-off, to be honest. I liked him. I mean, well, he was, to be honest. He could be a tyrant, I heard. Yes. A little bit of a tyrant. That's probably the word I would have picked. I loved him, for sure. I loved the guy. Thank you for the call, Doppelfreak. One of the things my wife told me about it, because she watched it, is she said that the people that worked for him found him to be quite a jerk. And the reason was because he could be demeaning and that he could be, you know, very forceful and getting stuff done, you know, attention to detail. And I said, does that sound at all familiar? Listen, you can be as forceful as you want and have as much attention to detail as you want. Won't bother me a bit. Demeaning. Yes. Demeaning by a guy would get me. That would be everything else. Hey, man, I love a strong leader. Same team. Somebody that's demeaning. Feast. Knuckle sandwich. It's just a jerk is a jerk. Yeah. Yes. Well, I told my wife, I said, those are all qualities that I've tried to work on. Because I have felt that I've been a demeaning boss. And that I've been, I don't know, I saw a similarity. Now, what I said to Rebecca is, I said, I wonder if there's a thing. Like with guys.
That have all these, you know, visionary guys that go, I want to do this. I want to do this. And I want to launch this. If their brain processes in that way, you know, because I find it a struggle. I literally don't know what to say. I mean, literally don't know what to say and have to be taught. Well, from brain to mouth sometimes. Yeah. Everybody, I think, in a position of power or boss. That you lose a little bit. Because you're constantly thinking about how to be better. How to improve this. How does this get better? How can I get you doing what I need you to do? And brain to mouth, there's lack of filter sometimes with guys like that. Yeah. I mean, I've never thought you were anything like some of the stuff I've read about him. I haven't read it. I haven't read it yet. Jerk. I haven't read it. But I'm interested. But one thing that you can't deny is the dude had some... Good ideas. Oh, yeah. I bet he was I bet it was petrifying to work for that guy. Petrifying. Well, he says, you know, that he would argue with people and he thought that it was an OK thing. Apparently, they didn't. I feel totally comfortable going in front of everybody else. You know, God, we really up the engineering on this, didn't we? That's the ante for being in the room. So we're brutally honest with each other and all of them can tell me they think I'm full.
And I can tell anyone I think they're full of sh**. We've had some rip-roaring arguments where we're yelling at each other. Jobs loved the arguments, but not everybody else did. And Isaacson writes that some of his top people began defecting. He was not the world's greatest manager. In fact, he could have been one of the world's worst managers. You know, he was always, you know, upending things and, you know, throwing things into turmoil. This made great products. But it didn't make for a great management style. That's me, right? Isn't it? I think about it and I go, I wonder if that's why my old team defected. I don't know. I don't know. And I can tell you this. When I was over across the street, I was different than I am here. I think I was kinder. I think I was kinder there. Yeah, I mean, listen. Hey, listen. In this room, pull the curtain back. We've had some knockdown drag outs in this room before about stuff. And, you know, I've told you, hey, screw you. And you've said, hey, you know, whatever, same thing. And it has only always made us stronger because we were able to say, all right, that was ridiculous. I'm sorry. I'll see your point. You'll see mine. And you have to have. Admitting when we're wrong. Admitting when we're wrong. It's been a big deal. Absolutely. Absolutely. And I've really tried to do that. Yeah, all of us have. You know, I've tried to say. And, you know, what I thought was interesting about what it said at the end was.
There was a trade-off. Yes, there was a great product, but people thought that he was a jerk. And I don't know. I've worked for some real, real big a-holes in my day. And I mean guys that were just so off the handle for no reason. We would recruit these boot camps, right? So they'd show up on Monday morning. Our boss would come in and look at them for two seconds. Two seconds. He'd look at them. Walk back to our recruiting area and go, this is the worst effing class I've ever seen. Wow. Didn't look at their resumes. Didn't know their background. He would look at them and go, this class sucks. Oh, wow. What the eff are you guys doing back here? Jesus. You know, walk out, punch the wall, and we're like, dude, you've spent two minutes with them. Oh, wow. Then Friday, come in and be like, that's actually a pretty good class. I'm like, easy, Steve Jobs. Wow. That stuff would make me nuts. Wow. Decaf. Yeah, seriously. 570-1949-M1 Juanito from San Diego. What up? What's going on? I was just going to tell you a story about Steve Jobs. I know someone who worked for Apple, and they did a group picture for someone's promotion, and Steve Jobs looked at the picture and said, who's this guy? And they told him who he was, and he says, well, I don't like his demeanor, and made him leave and made everyone retake the picture. What? Wow.
Oh, wow. Oh, wow. His demeanor. Oh, wow. That's something else. Now, that's not me. No, that ain't you. Well, that might not be anybody. That's not anybody. That might not be anybody. Needless to say, he works for Google now. Wow. Wow. Now, I'm sure there's just as many good stories. Yes, I'm sure. There are bad stories. You know, slipping a $20 bill into a young man's. pocket as he walked down the hall something like that yeah one of those we'll hear about i'm sure yeah maybe maybe i don't know i i mean i genuinely don't i just know that i like my ipad i know that i walked by the apple store on michigan avenue at about eight o'clock in chicago and went oh my god my dad goes good god look at all those people packed to the gills i admitted to my wife last night i said when that ipad came out even i wondered what am i gonna use it for right You know, what am I going to use it for? I said, I can't get enough of it now. I'm on it more than I'm when I'm at home. I'm on the iPad more than I'm on anything else. And she said, you know, there's school districts that are buying that for their kids because it's really helping. Absolutely. I mean, it's really helping for autistic kids. It went it did a thing where for 20 years, some of these people had not communicated for 20 years. Oh, wow. And then they started using the iPad.
And they started to communicate with their parents. What was, did they say what it was about it? Yeah. What it is, is that people are unpredictable. That's one of the things that's tough for Jake. That's why he loves exactly the same. You know, the iPad, when he plays a game on the iPad, it will say it the exact same way. It will do it the exact same way every single time. And for his brain. That's perfect. I remember him. Jake was about six months old and I was sitting on the couch with him and he was thrilled because I was going one, two, three, four, five. And I was doing that. One, two, three, four, five. One, two, three, four, five. And I went and I put all five fingers up and I went.
Five, four, three, two, one. And he broke out into a crying, screaming fit that up to that point in his life I'd never seen. And I remember talking to my brother Mark about it and going, dude, this scares me. What do you think that is? And I remember what Mark said, which comforted me. He said, dude, don't worry about it. Well, he didn't say dude because he's never said the word dude. He has never said that word. But what he said was, don't be worried about it. He said, I think the reason that it probably scared him or the reason that it upset him is because it was different. He said it's the reason that kids are afraid of clowns because their expressions are exaggerated and because everything looks exaggerated. And so maybe when you did it backwards, it was real exaggerated to him and it freaked them out. And don't worry about it. Well, as it turned out, that's not why.
It was because he's autistic and one of the things that they really, really focus on is patterns. They need patterns, you know, and predictability. It's got to be, that's why they recite and that's why they do this kind of stuff. But the iPads really helped them, you know. And they're communicating after 20 years of not communicating. People are actually talking to their kids and stuff. And that's pretty cool. Yeah. Very cool. Hey, remember the Gumby robber here in San Diego? Dude walked into the 7-Eleven. And the guy, he walked in the cell alone. The dude thought he was joking around. And then he started pretending to be fumbling for a gun and everything. And apparently, his sidekick, because you know it was too, yeah, yeah, pokey. It's two 19-year-olds, Jacob and Jason. Well, they both had walked in. The other dude was plane closed. He walks out, gets into a minivan. And starts honking the horn like, dude, you're in there too long, Gumby. Oh, God. Hey, buddy Gumby, you're in there too long. Start honking the horn. Finally, his buddy comes back out and they turn themselves in. Probably because the plainclothes guy knew, well, they caught me on camera. I'm going to get caught. Oh, my gosh. So anyway, November 8th is when they got up here on burglary charges. Three misdemeanors. Three misdemeanors is what they're going to get. Wow.
Wanted to update John. Oh, and they also found, they believe they found the source of the cantaloupe listeria. You know, the food poisoning people were getting from the cantaloupe. I think they found the source of where it was coming from. And then this thrilled me. How long do women look good after they put their makeup on? They have figured out an approximate time. And women, by the way, agree with this. So when they found out how long it is, women say, oh, yeah, it's about how long it is. So we'll tell you. It's going to be a lot of fun. And I want to have that place packed so we can do it there again next year. Yeah. Very important. So go to bellyup.com right now. Buy some tickets for it. $11. $11. All right. So Woods sent this to me. And it's pretty humorous. Beyonce is performing. And obviously she's got a lot of fans that are all, you know, and they're all up there in the front. And Beyonce comes walking down in front of all of them, touching, you know, grabbing, holding hands and all this stuff. And there's a woman. And this woman is, I don't know, if I had to guess, I'd say she's probably about 34 years of age. 34, 35, mid-30s. And she is a...
Beyonce fan. I mean, when she sees Beyonce walk up, she's losing her mind. Her mind is just flying right out of her. Now, when certain people lose their mind and their marbles, okay, when you lose your marbles, some people do it in different ways. Some people do it where they're screaming and they're, you know, jumping up and down. Some people do it. in the way that this woman does it, which is more of the awe factor. So she's like, just, you know, almost hyperventilating. Oh, my gosh. Shaking. Oh, my gosh. And Beyonce's singing this song and invites the woman to sing it with her. And that's what you're about to hear. Beyonce. How will I know, Mike? Oh, there will be a slight difference when she hands the mic.
What she did was she handed the microphone to her and let her sing along. The beauty of it is that it even made Beyonce laugh. Even Beyonce couldn't help but go, you just went... Isolate, isolate, isolate, isolate, isolate, isolate. That girl. Well, if you combine all with a lack of singing talent, the two do not mix. You know, it's peanut butter in champagne. The two do not. They don't go together. That was her moment. That's the moment that she was dreaming of. And it actually happened. It actually happened. And now what? And she just, ooh. Because she wants to barf.
Like, she's so excited, her body is telling her, eject, eject. This is too much joy. Eject. This can't be real. It can't be happening. It can't be happening. Oh, no. Oh, God. Let's hear it for her. I love it so much. You think after the song was over, like, in between that and the next song, she was like, I feel like I don't know. I don't know if I hit the middle. No, you were great. You nailed it. It was pretty cool. She's probably there with her kids, and they're like, Mom, God. Oh, gosh. Oh, gosh. Now she's all over the Internet. Oh, how embarrassing. Every radio show. Every radio show. She'll be on Tosh this week. Oh, man. Guaranteed. That's perfect. Oh, wow. Oh, wow. Made my day. All right. L.O.B. After you get ready in the morning and you do your thing getting ready, how long do you think? Now, I'm not talking about work here.
I'm talking about when you're getting ready and let's say that you've got a job where you've got to be seen by the public. You're getting makeup, hair, the whole bit. How long do you think that look is sustained? All day? No. Not all day? You do not feel it happens all day. How long do you feel you're looking good until that look falls apart? Until it falls apart? Until it... Yeah, you're right. That was... Okay. Until you need a touch-up. Probably like two, three hours. She's exactly right. Now, this is what tripped me out. I didn't even know chicks do this. You know why I didn't know it? Because when they asked dudes the same question, basically half of the dudes that were asked said that they look, quote, great all day. Well, Woods, in your prime,
When you had, you know, the PHC going the perfect haircut and suit and the whole bit, when you put on your, you know, the stuff in your hair and you left for the day, do you feel that your look faded? Oh, yeah. You do. Yeah, dude. I think, you know, the clothes would get kind of wrinkly. You start to sweat a little bit. I would give it about the same, about two hours. Oh, really? That's why you always, if you, when I went on the road, I'd have my biggest meetings first. Yeah. Because by the end of the day, I'm like. My shirt's wrinkled. It's probably got a little pit stain in there. Yeah. 75% of women said that over the course of the day that their appearance, quote, goes drastically downhill. Wow. Oh, wow. Drastically downhill. That's a little extreme. That's very extreme. I saw some commercial on TV. It was like an infomercial about some new thing. that women stick in their hair that's made of ceramic, and it keeps the curl. I had no idea that when girls curl their hair, that over the course of the day, it goes... You didn't know that? I had no idea.
I thought once a chick did the hot rollers and all that crap, that's what you got, man. It's immediately failing as soon as they take them out. It's immediately failing. I did not know that. How do you know that, Jay? I have three older sisters. And daughters. Yeah, and daughters. And I had no sisters growing up. And my mom, you know, I don't pay attention to that. But I had no idea that if you did. And Rebecca does the hot roller bit. She's got that old egg looking crate. You know, it looks like an egg carton, a big rectangular egg carton with a clear top with rollers in there that she plugs in and they get hot. And then she rolls them up in her hair. I didn't notice that they come out. Yeah. It's gravity. Yeah. Some girls have super straight hair and it doesn't hold a curl. Right. Easy, Paul Mitchell. I didn't know. Hey, Vidal Sassoon. How'd you know that? I like to recommend those little Aquanet. Little Aquanet. Yeah. Hey, L.O.B., do you ever have to do that? Sometimes. I had a wedding this weekend, and it was all outside. Yeah. Oh, congratulations. Oh, gosh, Jay. It wasn't my wedding. It was not, and I, you know, I think you knew it. Well, I think you would be invited anyway, so you might not have known. Always a bridesmaid. Oh, gosh, guys. That is just... It's all over. Oh, gosh, Jay. I was a guest at my friend's wedding. Oh, that is unbelievable. That's unbelievable. Unbelievable. Thanks.
Holy smoke. I mean, holy smoke is right. I'm sure Jay will find out on the air if I have a wedding because he wouldn't be invited. You don't even know. I won't. I want people there that support everything. That's right. Jay, don't say that anymore. No, no, don't. No, Jay. No, no, no. No, no. So creepy. So, L.O.B., you were saying. Oh, God. What I was saying was it was wet outside. Like, it was humid outside, so that will pull it away, too. Unbelievable. You girls, what you chicks have to go through. Oh, yeah. They found that the average chick spends 10 minutes in the shower. This is average. 10 minutes in the shower. 11 minutes drying and styling her hair. 8 minutes doing makeup. And 9 minutes.
Picking what they're going to wear. So why does it take them an hour and a half to get ready? Because these girls are lying. And how come it takes Mikey twice that long? Jay. Yes, sir. We're going to work on being nice today. Yeah. Just like in kindergarten. He's heard this before. Today. About 75 years ago from his kindergarten teacher. Today we're going to work on being nice. Now. I'm just wondering. I'm just trying to figure out how it takes you so long to mattify. It takes me. It takes me, for your information, 30 minutes. It does. It does. 35. 35 minutes. 45 minutes. No, it takes 35. I know it. You know, I've got it down to a science. It's taken a while to get to that, to whittle it down that much. It has. Can you imagine, Jay, kindergarten? Jay in kindergarten, like, Hey, Tubbs, what, you drinking two milks?
Hey, fatso. You fatso? What's that in your lunch? Snickers? Wow, weird. I can't believe it. Y'all clean up your station. You can't leave paste everywhere. You're tubby. Now, little J, you can't do that. You can't say that to people, little J. Well, because it's not polite. It's mean. I know, little J, but that's not a very nice thing to say to him. Little J, don't say that. It's inappropriate, Little J. You're going to get paddled. She'll grow up and give it away. You're going to get a paddling. L.O.B. went to a wedding this weekend and had a couple of drinks. Now, she's going to do something called the Dumb Drunk Dare.
Which is my way of showcasing, you know, it is possible to be stupid when you're drunk. Now, what I did not anticipate was our very own LOB having a couple of adult beverages herself. Yes, more than a couple. Whoa. And so she wrote me, texted me actually, and said, hey, buddy. Hello. Hello. Hello, Maggie. And she wanted to know, hey, about that dumb drunk there. Is it cool if I am slightly? Oh, what's your name? Sarah. Sarah, how old are you? You know what she said? You know what she said in the text? She said. She goes, Ruh-roh. Ruh-roh. That's what she said in the text. Ruh-roh. She said, oh, that's rule number one. You got to be sober as the interviewer. And she wrote back, Ruh-roh. Ruh-roh. There's L.O.B. at Beyonce. L.O.B. at the Beyonce having a couple of drinks. And here's L.O.B.
Pretty close. Oh, man. Pretty, pretty. So, well, I asked her. I go, LLB, now, how much are we talking here? And she writes back, and she just put two words. Cricket Sheriff. Oh, wow. Yes. I'm like, oh, no. You're a genius. Oh, no. Oh, no. It gets worse the more questions I ask. Oh, my gosh. What's your name? Oh, no. Oh, no. What's your name? Do you think that we'll have any isolates from today's? Yes. What's your name? What's your name? Oh, what's your name? Oh, my God. I love it so much. The more complicated the words are, the more it's... Oh, no. Thank you, baby Jesus. What do you have at a wedding, L.O.B.? I couldn't decide. That was the problem. What a beach. That was the problem. I had a margarita. I had wine. I had a glass of champagne. And then I had a beer. Hello. What's your name? Sarah. Sarah, how old are you? Oh, my God. Uh-oh. Oh, you're a genius. Ruh-roh. Ruh-roh. Ruh-roh. You are a genius. Hello. Hello. You're a crooked sheriff. Oh, man.
I had to edit out some of my responses, which included curse words. She is something else. That's effing correct. I mean something else. That's effing correct. That's effing correct. That's effing correct. It's unbelievable. I texted her early in the day. It was like 8 o'clock at night. Was it? I'd been at the wedding since 3, Mike. Oh, God. Was it 8 o'clock at night? Yes. That I texted you? I believe it was, and I'd been at the wedding since... I texted her, and I said, hey, L.O.B. So nice. Lately, I've just been loving you guys like when we all first met. Actually, even more. I just wanted to tell you how happy I am that you took this job. I thought you'd be good, but you're better than I expected. Now, I texted that to her at 5.05 p.m. Oh, really? So nice. Oh, really? Look at L.A.V. Really? Well, okay, so I didn't have my phone with me. It was in my little gold purse that was sitting on the table. And then as I was leaving, I was like, Mikey texted me. I love it. So at 11.54 p.m. What? At 11.54 p.m. What's your name? She texted me back.
Eight hours now. Eight hours later, she texted me back, and she said, Hey! With three exclamation points. Thank you so much! Four exclamation points. Just leaking party now. Just leaking party now. Yes! Just leaking party now. What's your name? I love it. Oh, boy. I'm so happy right now. That was the stupid autocorrect, okay? I'm leaking party right now. Oh, my God. My head. Oh, boy. Oh, my God. What's your name? What's your name? What's your effing name? Is that... So then, the next morning, at 9.38 a.m., she texted me again and said, Sorry. Sorry, that was my tipsy response.
Things have been really great with all of us on the show lately, and I think everyone is really shining. Thank you so much for the opportunity. And I'm not going to let her get away with that. No! So I write back and I go, I laughed so hard when I saw that. And she writes back, well, you'll hear in the audio just who the dumb drunk was. Oh, genius. I wrote back, well, you've learned your... First lesson in the dumb, drunk, whatever, you have to be sober. And she responded, rut, rut. Can't get high on your own supply, L.O.B. That's rule number one, kid. Holy cow. What's your name? Oh, I love it. I love it. I love it. What time are we going to play the dumb, drunk air? We're supposed to do it in the next break.
Well, then we will. Then we will. We'll do it in the next break and you'll get to hear the whole thing. I should have just said I forgot to do it because I will never live down this evening. Well, this is the way that we do the dumb drunk dare. You will call and you're going to hear LOB asking questions to a couple of individuals. And you have to wager. Will they get the question right? And it's pretty awesome. What do we have as a prize, Jay? We have a $25 gift card to Dave & Buster's in Mission Valley. There you go. Call us right now, 570-1949. What we'll do is it'll be me, Jay, and Woods, and one of you, an M1. And you'll be playing for yourself. So call us right now, and we will hear the audio of LOV at that wedding. I can't wait. I can't either. Coming up.

Made 123 people sick and killed more than two dozen people. CDC is looking into it, trying to find out how it could have been prevented. Woods, what's going on in sports? I'm going to give you some World Series updates and tell you about Monday Night Football, but wanted to tell you that sports is brought to us today by Dave and Buster's Eat, Drink, Play Football. Well, the World Series has been really, really good. Derek Holland pitched an absolutely incredible game for the Rangers last night. Pitched eight and a third scoreless.
Texas wins 4-0. They've tied the series at two games apiece. The game before, Albert Pujols hit three home runs in one World Series game, joining only Babe Ruth and Reggie Jackson. He's on fire. He is on fire. But this series now comes down to a best of three. Win two out of three, you are the World Series champion. And tonight, Monday Night Football, is the Baltimore Ravens 4-1 against the 1-5 Jaguars. Not real excited about that game at all. Ravens. Ravens should roll. And later, I'm going to give you a bunch more scores. There's a bunch more stuff to talk about. Not only is he going to be giving you the scores, but there's a particular score that is completely a news story. Oh, yeah. It transcends sports. The score of the game is a news story. Yes. There's actually two games that I want to tell you about. One on the really low end and one on the really high end. There you go. A lot of stuff to talk about. The Dumb. Drunk Dare. Sometimes it's not a good idea to be drunk. Well, in my opinion, all the time. But this is coming from a recovering alcoholic that does not believe that getting drunk is the answer. But listen, what we do is we get somebody on the line like M1 Daniel from Oceanside. Are you there, Daniel?
Okay. Now you're going to be playing for yourself, representing yourself. And what we're going to do is you're going to hear some audio of L.O.B. out talking to two people, asking just regular questions. You know, it's the kind of stuff that you, it's kind of modern, or excuse me, pop culture type stuff, what everybody knows. And so you just, we will go around me, Jay, and Woods and see who's right. Who can guess right in terms of... how well they're going to do. First, we have to establish, though, what they sound like and where in the evening they are. Now, as you explained earlier, L.O.B. had a couple of cocktails herself. Hello. What's your name? Sarah. Sarah, how old are you? 32. And Sarah, how many drinks have you had tonight? Oh, wow. A lot. Oh, oh, oh, wow. The next part is the best part. Oh, gosh. Oh, wow. Oh. Me, too. Okay, can I ask you a few questions about trivia? Yes. Okay. Well, here is the first question. Who was a GOP candidate that ran against Obama in 2008? Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. Woo! He's a crooked sheriff. That is as crooked sheriff as it gets. Oh, yeah. That's amazing.
What is that? Okay. The answer to the question, by the way, is John McCain. Okay? The answer is John McCain. Will she get it right? I'm going to say, undeniably, no. What do you think, Jay? I'm going to say yes. I'm going to say there's no freaking way. And what do you say, Daniel? I think she'll get it, yeah. You think she'll get it? Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney. Oh, my God. Oh, wow. No way. No, she did not get it. She did not get it. She did not get it. That would qualify as not getting it. It's a negative. We had been drinking for about eight hours at that point. Oh, my God. Wow. Here is question number two for Sarah. Name three judges from American Idol. Oh, L.O.B. I'm in my coffin. L.O.B. Yep. It gets worse. Oh, my God. Name three judges from American Idol. Oh, my God. Name three judges from American Idol. Oh, wow. I love that so much. It gets worse. I am going to say that this girl, because I think girls would know.
But I'm going to take a chance and say no. She does not know. Jay, what do you think? I'm going to say yes, she does know. Woods. No. And Daniel. No. Okay. Oh, the recent one? Okay, I'll tell you. Steven Tyler, J-Lo, and what's that black? Randy. But I'll tell you, I missed Simon a little bit. He told it like it was L-O-B. Wow. Wow. Wow. So Jay got that one right. And we should have actually started with Jay on that one, but I was overcome by the vocal stylings of our friend LLB. Question number three. What is a swashbuckling movie franchise starring Johnny Depp? What is a swashbuckling movie franchise starring Johnny Depp? The answer is the Pirates of the Caribbean. It gets worse. It gets worse. How could it get worse? She ordered another drink. What is a swashbuckling movie franchise starring Johnny Depp? Oh, wow. All right, Jay, let's start with you this time. Will this girl, Sarah, get the answer correct and say Pirates of the Caribbean? She will. Woods? I'm trying to think if this broad knows what swashbuckling means. I'm going to say yes. I had a hard enough time saying it. That's right. Daniel, do you think that she'll know?
Yeah, she'll get this one. I think she'll get this one as well. Here's the answer. That swashbuckling movie is called The Pirates of the Caribbean. I've actually never seen it. But I think it's stupid. I think it's stupid. I've never seen it, but I think it's stupid. What is a swashbuckling movie franchise starring Johnny Depp? Oh, that is unbelievable. It's just gold. So wait, I'm sorry. Yes, L-O-B. Daniel had said yes? Yes, he got it right. Yes. And Mikey said yes, and Jay said yes, and Woods said yes. Okay. All right. All right, now we are going to move on to a guy named Matt. Now, this is not your boyfriend, Matt Connors. This is actually a different Matt. Different Matt. And let's hear the introduction. What's your name? Matt Archer. How old are you? Thirty-five or thirty-six? I'm right in that range. I'm in that range. How many drinks have you had tonight? Thirty-five. Thirty-five. Thirty-six. Never. Thirty-four. Have some more. That's the father of the bride. Have some more. What? This is at a wedding. This is at a wedding. What? What did he say? Oh. Oh, my God. Have some more. He said.
Wow. I'm floored. Here is L.O.B.'s first question for the guy. What is the name of the movement that has protesters down at City Hall? Oh, my goodness. I told you. Oh, my God. There was definitely a drink in between the first interview and the second interview. Oh, wow. A bottle of grain alcohol. And you have to understand. Hello Bee is a small, you know, she's not a big person. I don't have very much of a tolerance anymore. So trying to keep up with people obviously didn't work out. So Woods, let's start with you this time. Do you believe that this guy Matt will know the answer is Occupy San Diego? Yes. And we will also, Occupy Wall Street will work as well. And you say he will know. I say he will know. Daniel, what do you think? Yeah, I think he'll know too. I do not think he will know. Jay. I think he will know. I'm not on a limb. Okay, here we go. Occupy Wall Street. Yep. Yes! Nailed it. Holy cow. Or am I a freaking idiot? Have I been in a cave? I don't know what is Occupy. What do you think I am? I think he sounds sober compared to me. Sober-ish, yeah. Yeah. Oh, my God. Well, he didn't know his age. No. Didn't know how old he was. Yeah, but that's just... Question.
Number two. Who is the mayor of San Diego? The what? Who is the mayor of San Diego? I'm sorry? Who is the mayor of San Diego? Okay. Oh, my God. Mayor of San Diego is Jerry Sanders. Daniel, will Matt know that? No, I don't think so. I am going to say the guy knows Occupy Wall Street. Yes, I will say he knows who the mayor is. What do you think, Jay? I'm going to say no. Woodsy. I think he knows. I hope he's from here. I think he knows. Here we go. Jerry Sanders. Yes. Wow. You sound like a Chewbacca in there. I think Chewbacca was there. If my eyes don't deceive me. This is question. Oh, my gosh. I'm looking at what she has to say.
Oh, I think this was the worst one. Well, I'm looking at what you have to say. I'm pretty sure this was the worst one. The question is, it's a tongue twister sober. And here's the thing. Okay. I thought I sounded, I was like, I need to get it together. Like I went in the mirror and like, like redid my lip gloss and everything. And I was like, all right, I gotta like, I gotta be on the radio. So, so I. This is my version of me thinking, I said. That you have it together. I have it together. All right, so here's what you're about to hear LOB ask. Oh, it's so sad. What is the name of the federal agency designed to aid Americans during disasters? And the answer is FEMA. All right, so let's hear how LOB said it. What is the name of the federal agency designed to aid Americans during disasters? Woods and I. Woods and I. Our jaws just went. Yes, that was the worst one. Ow. That girl over there.
It's something else. She is something else. What is the name of the federal agency designed to aid Americans during disasters? My eyes are the size of saucers. I'm blown away. I'm blown away. This is what you call professional journalism. Yes, very much. I am going to say that this gentleman, he's a smart guy. I say he knows. Jay? No way. Woods. No. Daniel. No, I don't think so. I'm the only one that thinks he's going to know. FEMA. Oh, my gosh. Damn it. He sounds like a smart guy to me. So right now, we have a tie between Mikey and Woods at four. There are two tiebreaker questions. We have two tiebreaker questions. All right. So let's go back to Sarah. Tiebreaker question for Sarah was, name any state that borders Florida.
That's what you're about to hear LLB say. Name any state that borders Florida. That what? I'm sorry. Name any state that borders Florida. Well, Jay, do you believe that Sarah will know a state that borders Florida? I'm going to say no. By the way, there is only two states that border Florida. Georgia. Georgia. Alabama. Alabama. That's a hot guy. Woods, what do you think? No way. Daniel? I don't. She'll get this one. Oh, she'll get this one. Wait, you'll say she'll get it? No. Oh, she will not. Okay, and I'm going opposite. What did you say, Woods? I said that there's no way she'll get it. Okay, then I'll say she'll get it. Okay. Georgia. Damn it. Oh, man. That's it? That's it. Oh, great. You got it, Woods. No, you got it. Any state. Any state. Is that it? You're the big wiener. We'll still give you a prize, Daniel. You still get a prize. Hang on a line. What is the prize, Jay? I had a $25 gift card to Dave & Buster's in Mission Valley. Just for giggles? Maybe we hear the tiebreaker question that LOB asked.
It's a Matt. What federal agency... Oh, wow. Oh, my God. Why are you screaming at him? You're screaming. You're screaming at him. I forgot I had to go back and find him for the tiebreaker. Oh, my gosh. I was like, huh? One more question. I forgot a question. Her tiebreaker question for him is, what federal agency maintains the U.S. border at the Canadian border? It's a trick question. It's the U.S. Border Patrol. It's the same one that patrols the Mexican border. Right. But, you know, I figured kind of a trick question. Yes. What federal agency maintains the U.S. border at the Canadian border? What federal agency maintains the U.S. border at the Canadian border? Oh, wow. Oh, my God. Oh, my God.
Woods. It's like cheesecake. It's so decadent and rich and sweet. I shouldn't be eating it, but God, it tastes good. I mean, yeah. And his answer was... The U.S. Border Patrol? That's a smart cat after 35 years. Smart guy. I love that. What federal agency maintains the U.S. border at the Canadian border? She's something. That was me. Drunk, but thinking I sounded sober. That's the best part. I can only imagine what I sounded like when I decided to just let loose. By the way, M1 David just wrote on our fan page, gold freaking mine. Oh, yeah. It's unbelievable. That is unbelievable. I should bring on a recorder more often. No doubt. M1 Chris just wrote, I'm sober. Those questions, her screaming those questions is the best part. You landed at the border. Who is the GOP candidate that ran against Obama? Amazing. I like how it starts off really loud. Yes. Who is the GOP candidate that ran against Obama in 2008? That's not as bad. That's not as bad as the last question. Name any state that borders Florida. What is a swashbuckling movie franchise starring Johnny Depp?
Oh, wow. Name three judges from American Idol. I'm sorry, what? I'm sorry, what? Name three judges from American Idol. I love that. Name three judges from American Idol. Name three judges from American Idol. You have to play, okay, question one for the girl next to question four for the guy, and you can hear the difference. Who was a GOP candidate that ran against Obama in 2008? Or? What federal agency was the U.S. border on the Canadian border? You're yelling, you're yelling, you're yelling. There was definitely a future. What federal agency was responsible? American Idol. American Idol. American Idol. When I listen the next morning, I'm like, I sound like I'm doing a bit. Like, people actually sound like that. Who was worse? Me at my birthday with the crooked chair for that. Oh, Woods. It's night and day. It's night and day. Oh, L-O-B. Oh, it's night and day, L-O-B. It's not even a ballpark. L-O-B, excuse me, exhibit A. Name three judges from American Idol. Okay, I would like to take a recorder to anybody after they've had a few drinks. Oh, I agree. And you sound a whole lot different. There is no doubt about it, but when you... What's your name?
Matt Archer. How old are you? 35 or 36. I'm right in that range. I'm in that range. How many drinks did he have tonight? 35. 35. 36. What's your name? Sarah. Sarah, how old are you? 32. And Sarah, how many drinks did he have tonight? A lot. Me too. There's so many isolates, it's going to take us a month. Dude. We could literally isolate every... Yeah, damn near every word. But we won't because I'm the one that does it. You know what the problem is going to be? It's going to take somebody 16 hours of work to isolate those. What is your name? What is your name? Hello. Hello. May I ask you a question? Who is the mayor of San Diego? The what? Who is the mayor of San Diego? What is the name of the federal agency designed to aid Americans during disasters? By the way, I can hear it. She's edited. She's had to edit even the question because there must have been like... What is the name of the federal agency designed to aid... Oh, in the background. In the background. L.O.B. is like Mike.
Don't be ridiculous. Some of the cussing was you, though. No, but I didn't cuss in the middle of my questions. My questions were fine. They're flawless. They're flawless. What is the name of the federal agency designed to aid Americans during disasters? She's screaming a little bit. It's unbelievable. What federal agency is on the U.S. border or the Canadian border? Glad you guys are enjoying it. It's unbelievable. It's my Saturday night. Listen. Enjoy. How did you feel yesterday when you woke up? You know, it was surprisingly good. Yeah, just like invigorated? No, but I thought I would feel a whole lot worse than I did. You mixed literally every kind of alcohol. Plus I had a shot. I definitely had a shot. Do you realize that you don't weigh very much? Right. Do you realize this? I didn't eat much. No, I didn't. You don't weigh very much. You can't.
You know, every once in a while, you just got to let your hair down. Sometimes you got to cut loose. I do it on my birthday. It's a wedding, a lot of friends, a lot of jubilee, a lot of drinks. A lot of moonshine. A lot of old Harper. Mike, do you know what you look like with those glasses on? I got to admit it. You look like a crooked sheriff. You know what I mean? Like a sheriff in town. And he just, you know, he's up to no good. He's just crooked. He's up to no good. He's crooked. He's taking money on the sly. And that's what... Under the table. Under the table. At least I didn't cry. I get, like, angry when I've had that many cocktails. Oh, no. My audio would have been a little different. Mine is very joyous. You're fun, LLB. You are fun. That was fun. She is. We had a fun night. What you call something else. Let's play another game. Let's play Name That Tune. Let's do it. Yeah, let's play Name That Tune. Call us and pick a horse. Me, Woods, or L.O.B. And we will play Name That Tune. What is the theme, Jay? For if I could take us to the Scream Zone. Okay, cool. That's the theme. That's the theme. What is the prize? Sorry. What is the theme, Jay? He can't. He can't because he's recording. The theme is alternatives.

Bird Surfshed with the FM 94.9 Authentics Report for a Monday morning. Now, I'm about to tell you right now, we've got overcast skies and very small, small pulses, primarily out of the southwest. Some secondary west, northwest all have gone right now, too. There could be some possible forerunners of a new southwest pretty swell that is expected to fill in through today, late today, more importantly into Tuesday and Wednesday. But it's getting very high tide this morning. We're looking at surf running in that kind of one to two-foot range on average at the Beach breaks right now, barely rideable for a longboard. Some of the kids are having fun on the inside shore break sections, but really not that much action going on. Reef breaks are completely shut down. Pretty clean right now, though. As the tide heads out, we could see some more size. We should see some more size. But right now, pretty weak and somewhat bleak water temp down there in the low, low, low 60s or upper 50s more likely. So for up-to-the-minute surf reports and forecasts, go to surfline.com. And for all your surfboard repair restoration needs, go see my pal Joe Roper down on Marina Boulevard. The authentic surf report can be heard three times daily right here on FM 94.9. I'll say it sometime between now and 10. When I do, I need you to be calling nine and you get some sitting color tickets. Be great. All right. So let's play a little Name That Tune. We're going to play a little Name That Tune. And then after we play Name That Tune, we're going to tell you about. Wood's going to South Bend this weekend to see the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Just call them the Irish. The Irish. Just the Irish. They weren't fighting. And you'll get to hear a little bit about Woodsy's pop. It's pretty funny. Oh, wow. That's weird. Wrong one. Creepy. Very strange. M1 Buzz from Claremont, who would you like to represent you in Name That Tune? There you go. It's a good choice. M1 Meter Reader from Oceanside, who do you want?
There you go. And M1 Casey from San Diego. You've got me. Hang on the line. I'm not very good at it. Alright, let's turn on our little buzzers. Reset Jude, dude. Or Jude. Hey Jude. Two Door Cinema Club. Oh, it was Two Door Cinema Club. It's a hit. It's considered in the top 11 hits of 2011. All right, Jay, show off. Here we go. Woods. Woods, that's Silver Sun Pickups. Woods won for you.
Total destruction. There we go, baby. Thank you. Total destruction. Well, it was 8 to 10. It wasn't total destruction. Man. Oh, boy. By the way, this is a kind of cool thing. We've talked about this before. Our neighbor and a good friend of ours, Dom and Amy, their daughter has something called neuroblastoma, but she's doing really good. She's about a year and a half old. And her little sister, Gianna, is donating. Older sister. Older sister. Sorry. Oldest in the family is donating her hair. Today, they're doing it at a class assembly. It's going to be carried live on television. No way. On KUSI. And if you're listening and you're a woman, you got long hair. I guess if you're a guy, too, I think. I don't know. Absolutely. Yeah. Is it locks of love? No. All you do is go to Pantene.com slash beautiful lengths. Oh, that's cool. Pantene.com slash beautiful lengths. What a sweetheart. Yes. And there's other kids at her school that are doing it as well. That's so cool. Yep. And so it's really a cool thing.
Okay, so Woodsy went to South Bend this weekend. His dad actually played football for Notre Dame. And so Woodsy grew up a Notre Dame fan and went to see the USC game this weekend. Unfortunately, Notre Dame didn't win, but it was still a good time out in Chicago and getting to visit your old stomping grounds. Now, Woodsy's dad is notoriously frugal. He knows the value of the dollar. And will do his best to try to cut some corners to make things go farther. Right. You know, it's a good way of saying it. For instance, this weekend, Woods texted me to let me know that he and his father were sharing a bed. Oh, man. I know he's listening. I bet he's so pissed. He and his dad were sharing a bed. I had to do that at Notre Dame because all the rooms are taken. Well, L.O.B., this was in the city of Chicago. And it would be impossible if the continent of Europe decided they wanted to come to America to fill up all the rooms in the city of Chicago. Oh, no. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. I laughed. I laughed. Let me tell you something. When I got that text from Woods.
I laughed so hard that there were little tears coming down. And Rebecca goes, Rebecca goes, what is so funny? And I could barely get it out. I go, what? It's like a scene in a movie. It's a scene in a movie. It is. You actually wrote me back, that can't be true. That can't be true. It can't be true. Like, I thought Woods is just trying to make me laugh. No, and I wrote back, explains a lot, doesn't it? Wow. So my Uncle Jack lives in Traverse City, Michigan. It's my dad's brother. And he, you know, it was a late addition to this trip. It was supposed to be just my pops and I. Well, Uncle Jack said, listen, let me crash with you guys. I'll drive you around. I mean, dude, he picked us up from the airport, drove us to South Bend. We didn't have to rent a car. It was great. And it was great to see my Uncle Jack. He's legit. And so we get to the hotel. My dad's like, the whole time we're at the airport, he's like. I sure hope it's like a suite and they have one of those couches or like a pullout. And I'm like, yeah, me too. We get to the room. How does he not know? He knew. He knew. So he's doing that. Well, I sure hope. Preemptive bit. Yes. All right. We walk into the room. What place? It was like the Fairfield downtown. It was really nice. It was a great hotel. Yeah. And there's two double beds. And he goes, well, me and you sharing a bed. And I'm like, I'm six foot. Because Uncle Jack is taking the other bed. Right.
Yeah. Oh, wow. And I guess, you know, me and my pups sleeping together is a little more natural than him and his brother or me and my uncle. Or you and Uncle Jack. Right. So we walk in. I go, oh, wow, the double beds. So immediately I'm preparing myself for, I'm going to have to sleep with my dad. I was a wreck. I was a nervous wreck. You didn't call for a cut? No, because, well, because we didn't want to tell him there was a third person in the room. Oh, my gosh. And I asked my dad that. It's just, it gets better. He's so mad right now. Whatever. It's hysteric. Dad, you're hysterical and you're the best. So we go to dinner, see one of my best friends in the world. He comes out. It's about 9.30 and I'm like, I'm beat. Go back to the hotel and my heart is just... The room is about, I don't know, 85 degrees? And we're like, dude, get the freaking AC down. We put on the AC and everybody goes to bed. Well, my Uncle Jack snores like... A bear. Sometimes it takes people a while to fall asleep. Not Uncle Jack. Two seconds after he hit the pillow, here's what you hear. That's it. And I'm laying there and I'm like, oh, dude. And I can't sleep with any noise. And it's hot and sweating. And that's what I hear. And you know how you snore for a little while? Then you stop. He didn't stop. It was steady. So I look at the clock. It's 10.30. It's 11.30. It's 1.30.
It's 2.30. Oh, my God. And I haven't slept. I have my earphones in, and I'm just playing movies on my iPod. Yeah. I'm listening to them. I listened to Private Parts, Howard Stern movie. I listened to The Perfect Storm. I listened to Riding Giants. The entire movie. All three of them. Laid there, woke up, or looked over, flipped to the next one. And your dad's sleeping next to you. Next to me. Wasn't sleeping. So, finally. Your dad's on the line, by the way. Oh, God. I'm sweating bullets. I get up to look at the A.C. It's got the heat on. The heat is on. Oh, my gosh. My dad and I are butt to butt. Oh, my legs. I got Jimmy legs always. So I'm Jimmy and my legs are out. And my dad finally gets out of bed at about 3.34 in the morning. He goes down to the lobby. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. M1 Hawk is on the line. That's his dad. I knew it. Hi, Hawk. Good morning, all. Oh, wow. Stern. Frugal. Frugal. Well, I mean, you know. I think that's a nice way of saying, you know, that you like to, you know, the value of a dollar. Resourceful. Resourceful. Resourceful. To my defense, when I made the reservations, it was just Stephen and I. That's right. I told him I said that. Right. My brother decided that he was going to come a little bit. I know he was sleeping bare. Oh, man. You know, because Stephen wanted to stay downtown Chicago, visit some of his buddies, you know, hit some of the old stomping grounds. Mashed potato.
It was one of those nights. It was just one of those nights, you know. One of those nights you just, you'll never forget. You'll always. Hey, memories, you know. That's one way to look at it. You can just say memories. Hey, would you could have always paid for your own room. Yeah, and I asked him, I go, how much are rooms here? He's like, I don't know, like 350 bucks. I was like, forget it. That's not frugal in my book. No. We know. It was a very classy establishment. Nice place. Very nice hotel. Yeah. I had no idea about the Jimmy leg, though. It was kind of creepy. Oh, no. My legs just move. So anyway, so we go to the game the next day. And then my dad's like, hey, the only hotel I could find is like 50 miles outside of South Bend. So we go to the game. It's a night game. We drive to Deliverance Country. And I mean, there is nothing. It's called Dawagiak, Michigan. But we're all so tired from the night before and just pissed because the game was terrible. I get on the phone in the car and I was like, I get the number for the Baymont Inn in Dawagiak, Michigan. I call him like.
Yeah, can I get a room, please? How much do you charge? Like 80 bucks. I'm like, I'll take one. Uncle Jack's like, I want one, too. So he booked the last two rooms. Wow. My dad gets the room with no heat and no AC. My Uncle Jack gets the room that was a previous smoker's room. They're both allergic to smoke. Oh. I had a king. I slept like a baby. Oh, no. Gosh. Oh, what a nightmare. Happy birthday. Yeah. Oh, you're probably so tired. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. What's his sweating, by the way? He's sweating. He's wiping sweat from underneath this T-shirt right now. It feels like our hotel room in Chicago. And then, you know, the next morning when we're checking out, my brother and I are checking out, and Stephen's sitting there having breakfast, and he's like, yeah, handle it, Dad. No problem. Did you pay? You didn't pay. Oh, yeah, I did. You paid for mine? Yeah. No, you didn't. That's on my debit card. You don't have to. It's 2011. You don't have to go check out anymore. You just leave. They got your card information. Well, as he gives them a debit card that's all taped up and falling apart. It's broken in half. My credit's good. You don't worry about it. Did you thank your dad? He brought you breakfast. No, it was Continental breakfast. Continental. Continental. I thought you guys... The room? I paid for my own room. I looked at it this morning.
Well, you better dispute it then. Oh, look at you, Little Angel. That's very sweet. I didn't know that. Wow. Now that is very nice. We had a blast. We did. But the sleeping in the same bed was absolute comedy gold. It was gold. Well, it sounds, I mean, I always compare Woods to Vince Vaughn. It sounds like a Vince Vaughn movie. Me and my dad laying there, both in boxers and a t-shirt. It's 85 degrees. And I'm like, my Uncle Jack put it on heat. He put it on heat in the room. On a mistake. On a mistake. And he's... As you guys know, there's a little bit of exercise in Stephen's future, but I felt more like trains, planes, and automobiles. Oh, wow. Yeah. Those aren't pillows. I don't like it. Those aren't pillows. I got John Candy next to me. Thanks, Dad. Oh, wow. I don't know what's going to happen. Oh, wow. My old dad. John Candy. Oh, man. Hardly. Thank you. Thank you very much, M1 Hawk. Have a great day. You're the greatest. We love it. I guess the gloves are off now. Yeah. Listen, he's thrown the gauntlet. He's thrown the gauntlet. But that sleeping in the same bed bit is maybe the funniest. I just got a visual of it and it killed me. Us standing there with our suitcases, both of us looking at each other, then looking at the bed, then looking at each other, looking at the bed. I was like, oh, this is going to be a rough night. Let's see. All right. So here is Steve Jobs talking about.
You know, there's a book coming out today by Walter Isaacson. Last night on 60 Minutes, Steve Jobs, a big focus. And they were talking about Steve Jobs curing his own cancer. And then they do a biopsy and they're very emotional. They say, this is good. It's one of these very slow growing 5% of pancreatic cancers that can actually be cured. But Steve Jobs doesn't get operated on right away. He tries to treat it with diet. He goes to spiritualists. He goes to various ways of doing it macrobiotically, and he doesn't get an operation. Why doesn't he get it operated on immediately? You know, I've asked him that. He said, I didn't want my body to be open. And soon everybody is telling him, quit trying to treat it with all these roots and vegetables and things. Just get operated on. But he does it nine months later. Too late.
Well, one assumes it's too late because by the time they operate on them, they notice that it has spread to the tissues around the pancreas. How could such a smart man do such a stupid thing? Yeah, I think that he kind of felt that if you ignore something, if you don't want something to exist, you can have magical thinking. And it had worked for him in the past. He regretted, you know, some of the decisions he made. And certainly I think he felt he should have been operated on sooner. Oh, wow. Dude, I didn't know he could have been alive still. Here is Job's view on the afterlife. Did you have any discussions with him that day or at any other time about an afterlife? I remember sitting in his backyard in his garden one day and he started talking about God. He said, sometimes I believe in God, sometimes I don't. I think it's 50-50 maybe. But ever since I've had cancer. I've been thinking about it more, and I find myself believing a bit more. Maybe it's because I want to believe in an afterlife, that when you die, it doesn't just all disappear. The wisdom you've accumulated, somehow it lives on. Then he paused for a second. He said, yeah, but sometimes I think it's just like an on-off switch. Click, and you're gone. He paused again. He said, and that's why I don't like putting on-off switches on Apple devices. Did you know that? Wow.
There is no off switches on Apple devices. There's only a power button. Wow. Yeah. That's deep. That is deep. Deep. I mean, the guy was into every little tiny, small detail. Yeah. It's amazing. And that was one of them. Interesting guy. By the way, you'd think the, you know, CEO of Apple, which, by the way, they fired him. Did you know that? No. They had fired him at one time. Wow. Because, you know, people couldn't stand him. They failed miserably without him. And so 10 years later, they asked him to be a consultant. And they were literally weeks from filing bankruptcy. And he came back in and did what he did. But how would a guy that made that kind of money live? What was his house like?
His house in Palo Alto is a house on a normal street with a normal sidewalk, no big winding driveway, no big security fences. You can drive in the driveway? You could walk into the garden in the back gate and open the back door to the kitchen, which used to not be locked. It was a normal family home, and he said, I wanted to live in a normal place where the kids could walk. The kids could go over to other people's houses. And I did not want to live that not so lavish lifestyle that so many people do when they get rich. That's awesome. Interesting. That's very awesome. We're going to be talking to a very interesting guy, Lieutenant Dave Bennett. Wait till I tell you about this story. Pretty incredible. And our phone screener is Chris. It's Cross. It's Cross. It's Cross. So you've probably heard about this, seen it on Facebook. There is a guy named Cameron Remmer. He's 29 years old. Disappeared October 9th. And he was visiting San Francisco. And apparently...
He has mental illness. And his family is looking for him. His brother Chris took off on Wednesday to San Francisco to try to find him. Last time anybody saw him, he had come back to the hotel to get some stuff. But he was sort of ranting nonsensically. And he is off meds. And it's very important that they find him. And so, you know, you can find information about it probably on Facebook. You know, his name is Cameron Remmer. There's a Facebook page, you know, made all about it. So, Woodsy, what's going on in sports? Well, there's the tale of two games yesterday. First, I'll start with what I like to call the Turd Bowl. Okay. And that was the Seahawks at the Browns. Guess what the final score of this game was? What? Six to three. Oh, wow. Imagine gearing up and going out to watch the Browns play, and you watch them win six to three. Field goal in the second for the Browns. Field goal in the fourth for the Browns. Field goal in the third. Oh, wow. On the opposite end of the spectrum, last night's Sunday night game. Yeah. Wow. The Saints and the Colts. Colts in New Orleans. 62-7. The Saints win. I asked Mike this morning, when was the last time you saw 62 points in an NFL game? Never. Drew Brees threw five touchdown passes. They had 36 first downs. Oh, wow. The Colts are still winless.
It was a pummeling. It was a pummeling. Drew Brees is still throwing touchdowns right now. On the reg. Wow. 62-7, man. That's unbelievable. If you're the Colts, you're just like, dude, come on. It's demoralizing. It's way demoralizing. They pulled him in the third. Okay, so if you are into documentary specials and if you're into, if you ever saw the movie The Hurt Locker. Yes. The movie The Hurt Locker is about specialists that will go in and they will dismantle EODs, explosive or excuse me, IEDs, improvised explosive devices. I mean, if you watch the movie The Hurt Locker, your heart's beating through the whole thing because you're like, you don't know if these guys are going to blow up any second. Actor, the actor Josh Duhamel, he is the voice that's narrating this thing. It's on G4. Locally, if you got AT&T U-verse, that's channel 149, channel 316 on Cox Cable, and channel 240 on Time Warner Cable. So we have Lieutenant Dave Bennett in here with us right now. Is that right, Lieutenant? Yes. Lieutenant Dave Bennett. And I need you to go right up to that microphone, right up to it. We got Lieutenant.
Dave Bennett in here with us. And we also have Chief John Grote. John, why don't you come around and sit in my seat? That's fine. Is that cool? Yeah, that's fine with me. Okay, cool. And I'm going to explain to you what this is. This documentary is a real life hurt locker. Guys that are out there dismantling these IEDs. And when he first came to me to talk about it and see if I was interested in it. I wasn't sure. You sent me that episode on DVD. And I put this thing in. My wife's sitting there. And the first 10 seconds of the show, my jaw drops open. I'm like, oh, my gosh. I mean, it is like edgier seat type stuff. And so let me talk to you guys. First, Lieutenant Dave Bennett, who is not on the show, but you were sort of in charge of. putting it all together right right right and you did it with i didn't know this but there is a civilian branch of the military that all they do is take uh offers from production companies to do tv shows is that right yeah whether it's movies tvs commercials they kind of check it all out and say does this make sense can we do this or can we support it operationally right and if it makes them look bad they go no but if it makes it you know if it's a good thing they'll say yeah let's do it
Well, the whole idea is that we just want to educate the public on what we do. We think it's important. We owe it. We're stewards of the taxpayers. So that's what that is. I mean, so that's what they do. Like, make sure that it's going to make sense and people are going to benefit from it. It's called Bomb Patrol Afghanistan. It is a hour-long, 10-episode series. And it follows the U.S. Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal. And they are the world's premier combat force. For countering IEDs and weapons of mass destruction. And they also have balls of steel. And I will tell you that when, you know, I've only seen one episode. And when Chief John Grote walked in this morning, I'm like, holy cow, you're that guy that I saw. And I go, you know, and I really wanted to talk to you because, first of all, thank you for coming in. I'm glad to see because I don't know. I haven't seen. whole series, but at least I know you're alive. At least I know you're alive. He gave part of the ending away, huh? I really appreciate that. Yeah, you're giving part of the ending away, but you are alive and you were there for five months in Afghanistan. And this is, let me describe to you what I saw. The thing that I wanted to ask you about instantly, they go off-road in Afghanistan.
which is very dangerous, correct? Absolutely. When you leave the road, and there had been some people that had died right before you guys went on this off-road experience, going off-road, is that right? That's correct. It's a road that leads to the Afghan National Police Overwatch Station, and one of their officers was riding a motorcycle, hit an IED on that road. And you're traveling down that road? Yes. So you're watching it, your heart's like... And every few feet, they'll stop. Because you guys are looking with binoculars to see, is there anything on this road? Is there anything on this road? You're looking for fresh dirt, right? Correct. Okay. So explain the box that you guys are moving towards and what it is. The U.S. had donated basically a Connex box that's pretty fad with office living spaces in it. And the Afghan police were trying to get it up to the top of this mountaintop for...
For the police station, they have a place to go in and out of. So they drop this giant box. How big is the box, would you say? It's basically one of the Connex boxes you see on the back of a semi-truck. Okay. And they drop it from the sky. No, it was trailered in. They trailer it in. Yeah. Okay. Well, it's sitting in sand. Correct. Dirt. And you guys got to get to it. But what they do is the Taliban will put these explosive devices around it. You guys got to go out there and figure it out. in and of itself freaked me out because I thought, how can somebody be so freaking calm? But you guys are wired differently. And what's the name of the 19-year-old? That's Chase Holzhauer. Chase. Yeah, he's 22. 22. Well, Chase wanted to be in the Navy SEALs and decided to go this way, and he's going to do this stuff with you guys. Now, excuse me, I hope this doesn't offend, but he's kind of a smartass. He's, you know, that's his personality.
He's kind of a smart ass. And Chief is his boss. And you guys send a robot out. And I don't want to give too much away. But this kid kind of screws up. Chase screws up a little bit. And after he screws up a little bit, he's kind of mouthy about it. He's a little lippy about it. And Chief's asking him, what happened? And he's like, what do you mean what happened? He's like, I mean, and there's a lot of bleeps. So you know. That was me at my probably angriest point. Yeah. That was you at your angriest? That's about as extreme as I get. Because he was so, he goes, what do you mean what happened? He goes, well, I don't know, blah, blah, blah. Now we're dealing with stuff that, this is what I couldn't believe. It got to a point where if this kid screwed up again, it was going to be the chief that would have to walk out there and do it by hand. And you still weren't pissed.
I still didn't see you. If it were me and that were Woods, I'd be like, dude, come on. I got it. Yeah, I got to go out there. What's the matter with you? And you were just calm. Is that a part of the training? They just teach you guys that or is that the way you're wired? I think it's a little of both. I'm wired pretty mellow. Yeah. But we. We do this over and over and over again. So it's pretty much second nature, how we respond, how we react. But you never know. When you get in that situation, you never know how you can react. And I thought I was pretty fired up, but I guess I wasn't. I thought you treated that guy as good as you can possibly treat a guy, given the circumstances. Because we're talking life and death. And when I tell you that these bombs are big bombs, they're freaking big bombs, man. I mean, they're nasty. Those are nasty bombs. How are they triggered? There's several different ways. That one itself was booby-trapped. It was designed to get you when you were trying to move this thing. So that one was a very tricky setup the way the Taliban had set that one up. So how does it work? What sets it off? There's a bunch of different ways. This one was designed. You grab the cable and it detonates. And that's why.
When you see the episode, you'll... You'll see what happens. You kind of understand what happened. And this is obviously something that I guess takes... You've got to train to figure out how to do that. Dismantle a bomb. Well, our school itself is over a year long. And then our training cycle is almost a year from the time the team gets put together to the time we deploy. So we have a pretty extensive workup cycle. And before we left, I... I ran drill after drill after drill on the guys to make sure everything they did was second nature. And that's what's important. You know, if you've seen the Hurt Locker, they send out these little robots and stuff. And when they send those robots out, one of the things that I didn't realize was that they're controlled by basically what looks like Xbox controllers. I mean, it's the exact same bit. It's like the exact same thing, right? Yeah, for that robot, it is an Xbox controller.
It's an actual Xbox controller. It comes right out of the box from iRobot that way. Wow. It is. Dude, it's unbelievable. So be easier on your teenagers when they're out. Yeah. They're learning. Save someone's life later. The other thing that tripped me out was how you guys, you don't know where the enemy is. And they blend in with everyone else. You're driving through these streets. You don't know who's who. You don't know who's trying to kill you. And as you guys are doing this, you're just making jokes, man. Just driving down the road. I'm like, I would be cowering in the back of this vehicle. And you guys are just like, that's your work day. That's just what a work day is. I'm going to play you a clip of what the show says. Is it here? I'm going to play you a clip from the show. Again, it's going to premiere tomorrow night on G4. And it's called Bomb Patrol Afghanistan.
Right now, our situation is we're on Shock Road, heading south towards the suspected IEDs, and then we'll prosecute it from there. We're going out there against something that doesn't have a personality, a soul, and it wants to kill you. About 50 meters, we can see it pretty good. It's on the left-hand side of the road. Guard is in the center. No matter what goes down, I know that other guy's got my back. Hey, here at the topside, we found a cache. I got the demo. Hey, load up, load up. We're pushing it out. It was a couple minutes. Can you hold? Getting ready to move. A couple blocks, and we're going to freaking blow this guy. All right, bring the robot up. Get all your guys down. It's gritty, and it is unbelievable balls. I mean, just unbelievable. Watching these things blow up, watching these guys out there, and at the end of the first episode, they show you what you're going to see the rest of the season.
They give you some highlights the rest of the season. One of the most chilling things I've seen is a guy walking up. And you guys know there's a bomb there. And your communications aren't working. And so you're literally screaming to him, stop. And he can't hear you. And he just keeps walking. And they cut it off right there. It's unreal. Unreal. It's called Bomb Patrol Afghanistan. By the way, the thing that gets your heart racing from the very beginning is a firefight, which I can't even imagine what it's like to have bullets coming at you and how you fight back. Because doesn't that require you getting out of the vehicle? Yeah, we try not. If we don't have to get out of that vehicle, it's a big bulletproof vest, basically. So if we don't have to get out. We don't, but there are occasions where we've got to get on the offense and move with our security element. But we've got guns mounted on top of the truck, so we put guys up on the mounted weapons. And they're behind some kind of big plate or something? Yeah, there's a big steel barrier around it, but they're still out there and open. You've got to be able to see what you're shooting at. Yeah. So the target's small for us, but it's still being exposed. Well, the last thing you hear is that they fire an RPG at you, a rocket.
Correct. It's some of the scariest. And that's where they stop it. That's coming up later in the season. And then it says five months earlier. And you're like, no, no, no, no, no, no. I want to know. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I don't want to five months earlier. I need to know what happens. So, listen, it looks really, really great. I'm so excited, kind of. I don't really even know what to ask. Can I, I'd like to squelch something here real quick. Yeah. While you're watching this during the firefights that are on there, there's a guy screaming. Just know that that's not my guys. That's the cameraman. So I want to put that out there. Really? Absolutely. There's a guy screaming. It's a cameraman. It's the cameraman inside the truck. Get a casualty in here. He's screaming, yeah. Holy cow. That's the camera guy. Oh, wow. Yeah, things you don't see is myself or some other guys telling him to, hey, relax a little bit. Hey, calm down. Calm down. And, yeah, he was a little stressful. Because he was working everybody else up from his brain? No, he's never trained for that. So his adrenaline was kicking probably a little more than it should be. Can you imagine just being a regular guy and all of a sudden bullets and rockets are flying at you? No. Well, yes, I play Call of Duty. Oh, that's virtually the same thing. Unbelievable. Listen, I can't imagine what it's like, but seeing the show...
Your heart's beating the whole time. I mean, it's a gnarly watch. How long would you be out at one time on a patrol? How long does a patrol last? It varies. It could go from one hour, two hours to two weeks, three weeks. It just depends what's going on. The one that you saw, the first episode, that was actually the third call for that day. So we were out about 18, 19 hours on the first episode. How many EODs did you guys, how many IEDs did you guys defeat well in that five month? Wasn't it like 400 or something? No, no. We had, you know, close to 180 responses, depending on what that was, whether it be IEDs or caches or explosives or just responses to, you know, whatever we need to respond to. 180. How do you guys know if the, because a lot of times they'll turn, you know, the.
Afghanis will tell you guys, hey, there's an IED over there. How do you know they're not lying to you trying to set you up? We don't, but we always keep that in the front of our minds. So we approach everything like it's the first time, like there's something there. Whether there's something there or not, there's something there until we determine there's nothing there. I mean, because they could very easily draw you in to go try to fix it and ambush you, right? Absolutely. That's why we roll with a security element. whether it be Army or Marines, we don't go out there by ourselves. Unreal. And they train so much. Right in that mic, right in the mic. And they train so much here in San Diego, up in China Lake. And if I'm right, Chief, I mean, that scenario that you were there showing, you've done that multiple times as far as training for it, even though they're all slightly different. But you guys train like you fight, fight like you train. Yeah, like I said, we train. I hit the guys hard before we went. We also receive a lot of weapons training. What do you mean when you say you hit the guys hard? What do you mean? Before we go, I tried to run every possible scenario I could as far as IEDs go, being engaged by the enemy. Anything that I think or we've seen in Afghanistan, I run that on them so that it's not the first time they've seen that drill or that IED.
So when they get out there, they know what they're looking for. It becomes second nature, and we're able to formulate a plan quicker. How close, you know, the movie The Hurt Locker, how close to the reality is that? It's not. I mean, the guy that they portray is the team leader. He's more cowboy-like. We're not like that. We work as a team. Nobody's going to go out on their own. It just doesn't work that way. But in terms of the bombs, was that a true depiction? The way they were set up, you know, in some of the scenarios they had there, yeah, there's stuff like that. But the way he handled them, there's nobody out there that's going to do the things he did. We think a lot smarter than that and approach things in a lot safer manner than he did. C4 is an explosive.
How does it work? How do you detonate it? Well, you have to utilize some type of booster. C4 is pretty stable by itself. I mean, you can burn it. What is it? Like a block? It's almost like putty. It's white. It's like Play-Doh for men. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So we utilize blasting caps with an initiation source to fire the blasting cap because the blasting cap is a lot more sensitive. Is it fun? Blowing stuff up. Why else would we do this? That's why I say they're wired differently. You can tell. You guys dig it. Don't all guys dig that blowing stuff up? Blowing stuff up is great. Getting shot at is not great. And that's the thing I couldn't do. I'd love to go out there if that was in Nebraska. If that was in Nebraska and I'm just out there and nobody's shooting at me, great. If I know that I can trust everybody, great. If I know that... You know, things aren't going to blow up around me. Great. The whole time I'm like, I think something's going to blow up every second that you guys are out there. But it's a great show. It's called Bomb Patrol Afghanistan. It's on tomorrow night at 10 and it's on G4. And thank you both for coming in. I can't recommend this show anymore to people. It is scary and cool. Thank you guys. Thanks, Mikey. Let's see. It bothers me that I don't know how to be woods. That's why I don't eat that. funk cheese that you eat. I eat Kraft American singles. Lauren. My obsession with black men came from Bill Cosby. Did it? Yeah. And Jay. Man, if I could just be a home dad on FM 94.9. Woods, I don't read your playlist ahead of time. Most of the time. And so every once in a while, I'll hit the start button and I'll hear these songs and I'll just start laughing. So genius. England dance. And...
John Ford Coley. Do you think John Ford Coley was like, hey, why can't you just go by Dan? Why can't you have to go by Dan Abramson? It's your God-given name. Because I think England Don will catch on. But I'm already using my full name, John Ford Coley. Listen, we're both Englishmen singing country music. I mean, give me a break. Look, Ambrosia just called and they said, hey, you guys are a bunch of peas. Is that right? Is it right? And now you're going to be calling yourself England Dan. Were people in the 70s just giant wieners or what? Yes. God. Oh, my gosh. What do you do? Like, dude, why don't you sing some rock and roll? Why don't you just cut your wiener off? I quite enjoy it. I do, too. I do, too. It's 40 years later. If I was a high school student and they're like, and the new single from England Band and John Forcouli, I'd be like, I gotta get out of here. It's make-out music. Oh, it's free love. Free love. Get crazy. Oh, wow. That's right, my man. It's really natural. Natural is a hard attack. That is right, my man. That's right, my man. That's right, my man. My man. He's starting... Oh, God. His new bit is catchphrases.
They've embraced it. Oh, they've embraced it already. His flock has embraced it. His flock is confused. No, they're not. I don't think they are. They know who they love, and they'll do anything he tells them. He's like Charles Manson. Yeah. Hey. It flows real well, and it has a meaning. That's not fair to Charles. It's the opposite of Charles. That's true. It flows so well. Say it. Here is our... Everything's good, my man. I don't know how long it is. You guys want some coffee, my man? I can't take it. That doesn't make sense. What's coffee, my men? Well, you can't say, do you guys want some coffee, my man? Yeah, you can. Well, you can if you're Jay. If you're Jay. You do whatever you want. Just listen to me talking to one man. There's a couple men in there. All right, here is our neighbor, and her daughter is going to be cutting her hair today in front of a whole assembly of her school, second graders.
And it's on KUSI. Who was just talking. I know we jumped on here kind of early while you were talking there a little bit. This is so great what your daughter's doing. And I want to remind people that we're here for a very good cause. And that's because your Louis one was diagnosed with a tumor, a cancerous tumor on her spine. Yes, it's called neuroblastoma cancer. She was diagnosed when she was nine months old. And so the doctors came in, got taken care of. But one thing that your daughter was seeing with her sister... It's so weird because I've partied at a Super Bowl party with her when she's got a couple of glasses of wine in her. My wife caught me looking at her boobs and called me out in front of her. That was a true fact. True fact. She was losing her hair, and she wanted to do something to give back to those others who were losing hair. Yes, it's pretty ironic that she ended up losing her hair. She had more hair than any baby you had ever seen. And so it was pretty traumatic for our family to see her lose the hair. And her older sister, Gianna, felt like it was something that she could do to help somebody else. So I love it. Here goes the three girls. Actually, she has friends. I want you to help me introduce. So we have the three friends who are going to be helping out getting the haircut also. This is? Catherine. Catherine. In the middle is? Gianna. And then?
Ronnie. Ronnie. And we have some teachers, as she was saying, helping out there, too. But here goes little Angelique right here. And she's doing great. Look at her. She's moving around and everything. Oh, little Angelina. And your family here. We have to say the school is your family. It's so wonderful. The school helped us with meals, prayers, hugs. Melt your heart, man. They spent the night with me in Ronald McDonald House. And they've just been here for us day in and day out. By the way, for those of you that are new listeners. This was the same child whom Woods and I visited when Woods met Mike Sweeney. The baseball player, Mike Sweeney. Philadelphia Philly Mike Sweeney. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Kansas City Royal. All-star. All-star. Yeah, multiple-time All-star. 297 lifetime hitter. I don't know anything about him. Nothing. Nothing at all. Angelina's daddy, Dom, at one time was an incredible baseball prospect, and that's how he knows all these guys. Woods thought he looked familiar. Very familiar. And so you said, do I know? Well, we were all crying. Yeah, I was bawling crying because a little angel laying there. Yeah, and so Woods looked over and said, I know you. And the guy said, I don't know. Woods goes, do you play baseball? And he goes, yeah, actually, I do. I do. And Woods goes, really? Is it S-D-B-A-B-L? San Diego Adult Baseball League? And he said, no, no. Sorry, what is that?
Wood said, it's a San Diego Adult Baseball League. And Sweeney went, no, no, my name's Mike Sweeney. I play for the Philadelphia Phillies. Oh. It's almost like the same thing. Yeah, yeah. See how you can make that mistake. Yeah, my mistake. My mistake. They've been friends ever since. Fervently. You have. You actually have. Yeah. Without them. I love it. All right. Are we ready to cut hair? Are we ready to cut hair? We ready to cut hair? Why are you screaming? Are you ready? Let me go down here. Action. We can come down here. How are you? Good. Good. No, it's little Gianna. It's her sister. It's her sister. Are you ready to have your hair cut? Yes. Yeah, and you're doing it for a good cause, right? Yeah? Yes. Now, how old are you? Seven. Seven. And that makes you, what, like 22, 23? No? No. So you're six? Yes. Yes. So that makes you 31? Nope. No. I think I said seven. Do you remember that? Do you remember that? Do you remember that time? Do you remember that time? No, I'm just kidding. All right. You have a lot of long hair. How long is her hair? How long is it now? I know you're measuring it. From the ponytail down, it's almost ten inches. Ten inches. She's been growing. All right. Are we ready? And this is with us cutting the hair. Christine. So they wouldn't let me cut it because I was going to cut you. They weren't going to let me. I'm a good stylist. Do you want me to try it?
No. No? She's so cute. All right. She's like, ha, ha, ha, ha. Hey, Richard Pryor, you did. You don't know the difference between 22 and 7. So I'm not going to trust you with scissors. But this is so great. And where are we donating the hair to? It's through Pantene Beautiful Lengths. And we chose them because they will take 8 inches or more. And for a 7-year-old, it was kind of a long time to get to 10 to 12 inches. They're cutting her hair. Are you ready to have your hair cut? Oh, wow. And so how long have you been growing your hair? That's so rad. So rad. She's donating that hair. There we go. We got the first cuts going there. We're going back and see what the final looks like. It's so great, man. Good morning, San Diego. Hey, by the way, if you want to do this, and this goes to people that are doing chemotherapy, if you want to donate your hair.
Go to www.pantene.com slash beautiful lengths. So heartwarming, man. I think you have to have at least eight inches to do it. You do. I did it for the locks of love, and you had to have at least eight inches. Locks of love, well, most of them require more. And Pantene only requires eight. So that's good. That's a good thing. Our number here is 570-1949. And you can give us a call if you want to. Why don't we do a little Mikey morning. Oh, yes. Oh, man. Jay watched football this weekend. I did not. Well, here's what you do. You can call us right now. Our number, 570-1949. And I'm going to ask questions of Jay and LOV. We're going to see who knows more about the sport of football. NFL football. Jay's just getting a couple of websites queued up right now. As usual. Got to make sure we're all set. Jay, you're not going to cheat, are you? I am not going to cheat. Isolate. All right. It's Mikey Morning Quarterback, or as Jay writes when he writes to me, Monday Morning Quarterback. Momentary. He'll be writing me tonight to get him the new release for tomorrow. Oh, boy. M1 Esco from Escondido. Are you there? I am here. Who are you going to select? I will take LB. All right. Well, that's a good choice. Got it.
Jay won last week. Yeah, it did. First time. One for seven. First time. M1 Sticky Fingers from San Diego. You've got Jay. Hang on, okay? All right. That's right, my man. Okay. Who started last time? Jay did. Jay did. So, L.O.B., you get to begin. Your question is, what team did Walter Payton play for? Oh, yes. The Saints. We just went over this. That's right. Yes, we did. Darn it. Walter Payton played for the Chicago Bulls. I knew that. Look at it. And then he gives the thing like, did I? Did I? I know I did the one sheet for the interview. I still didn't know. Darn it. I knew it. All right, you ready? Here we go, Jay. Jay, what are you looking at? Don't look down. I'm just minimizing things. What is that guy out there doing? I don't know. He should have to come in here when he plays. He's got the chat option open on his Facebook. You better not. You should come in here and play. Jay, come in here. Come in here. Come in here. That's a new rule. Yeah, it's a new rule. He's got some flock members. Yeah, he's got, yeah, one of your flock members. A lifeline. I do not. I should. That's smart, but I didn't think of it. You SOB. I know. All right, you ready, Jay? Yes, I am ready. What player was known as the bus? Not the refrigerator. Do you mean...
Refrigerator Jones, as you referred to him? Not him. You called him Refrigerator Jones. The bus. Who was the bus? Oh, that would be LT. No. The bus was Jerome Bettis, and he played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he's got a... Nobody knows that. Oh, yes. Fighting Irish. Oh, really? That's right. LOB, what team did John Elway play for? The Jets. Miami. The Broncos. The Broncos. Burn it. I'm going off of a very quick instinct here. Does she get it or no? No. No. She guessed wrong. You keep them scoring? Yeah. Zero to zero. Zero to zero? The Nintendo game. That's right. There's nothing to keep. It's the easiest game to keep scoring. Here we go. Jay. Yes, go ahead. Name any, and when I say any.
I mean any team that Deion Sanders played for. And I mean as long as you name a team. The Cowboys. Bam! That is correct. Son of a gun. That is correct. I did not think you would get that. Me neither. L.O.B. Yes. What team did Dawn Shula coach for? Come on with all these. Don Shula. Don Shula. Shula. Don Shula. Don Shula. He's from Shula Vista. Don Shula. Don Shula. Come on. This is ridiculous. The Kansas City Chiefs. Oh, boy. No, Don Shula was a famous coach for the Dolphins. Undefeated coach that never won a Super Bowl? No, he's the only undefeated coach, period. Oh. That's the only team that's ever won every game. 72 Dolphins? 72 Dolphins. They're real proud of that, aren't they? They sure are. Every year when a team is undefeated, when they lose, all the guys get together and pop champagne. Oh, Shula. Bunch of clowns. Shula Vista. Shula Juana. You ready, Jay? Yes, I am ready. I'm going to lead. What's the first team that Randy Moss played for? Oh, the first team.
Oh, the first team. I know the second team. Well, Randy Moss is a very famous person. Very. First team they played for had to be the Lions. Right division, wrong team. Vikings? That is correct. He played for the Minnesota Vikings. That's who drafted him. LLB, why do you always know the ones? I always know J's. All right, you ready? Yes. I hope I didn't ask this one before. Okay. You'll know. What does NFC stand for? The National Football Conference. Man! Wow! Oh, wow. You never asked that. I was thinking Coalition. Never asked it. What's the deal? 1-1. Oh, no. You out? Go ahead, Woods. Are you out? Yeah. So this could be it, because she started it. It could be it. Okay. I got a homemade question. Oh, I got a question. I got one, too. Okay, go ahead. All right. Name any. What do you mean by any? I mean ever. Any, any player. Comprises.
Of. The whole sum of. Ever. Any player ever. In the history of the world. In the history of the National Football League to ever play for the Oakland Raiders. What was the question again? Name any player ever to play for the Oakland Raiders. Ever. Ever. Ever, ever, ever, ever. In the history of the franchise. In the history of the franchise. Antonio Gates. Dang it. Oh, my God. I knew the name. Antonio Gates. Didn't he play for the... Wasn't he the storied... Oakland Raiders. Legendary tight end for the Oakland Raiders. I don't watch football. I understand. L.O.B. for the steal. For the win. Oh, let's give her a hard one. Like, what is the football made out of? L.O.B., can you name... Because yours have been so hard. Any Oakland Raider ever. Any Oakland Raider ever. Currently or ever.
Ever. Ever. You're overthinking it. I am overthinking it. I always overthink it. Any. And I mean any. Any. From any time. That's not fair. I wish they paid attention to my sports reporting. You do sports? They just traded for Carson Palmer last week. Last week. Go ahead, Miguel. My question for you, Jay. Is what number did Junior Seau wear? Don't look around. Look at him. Don't look around, Jay. You can't look around. Number seven. Same question? No, I'll give her a different one. I'll give her a different one. Amazing. Seven. So confident. L-O-B? Yeah. Before the Philadelphia Eagles, where did Michael Vick play?
at the Atlanta Falcons. I should really have a chance to tie it. She started it off. But I'll let her win. But wasn't that a sudden death? Yeah, it was a sudden death. It was overtime. M1 Esco, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. Esco, L-O-B, brought it home. Way to go. Very poorly. Now, as you know, You may not know. I'll fill you in. If you've never seen L.O.B., she's a foxy gal. Very. She's been in a lot of TV commercials. She is a blonde. She has blue eyes and looks a lot younger than she actually is. She, in college, used to party, but since college is not much of a party. Oh, you're going to play that again. Well.
I think we should. I think it's only... Happy birthday to you guys. It's only fair. It's a new audience. Yeah. A lot of the audience that's listening right now was not listening earlier. And they're going, what the hell did I miss? What did I miss? Oh, man. What was the highlight? Yeah, what was one of the highlights from earlier in today's show? What made everyone's day at 7 o'clock? Except mine. Yeah. Well, L.O.B. went out and she did something called the Dumb Drunk Dare. And the Dumb Drunk Dare is where she will ask questions, just regular questions, common knowledge to people to see if they can answer them. We wager on whether or not they'll get them right. But this was at a wedding. And as you know, at weddings, people like to imbibe. And that was not limited to LOB. She decided she was going to imbibe a little bit. A lot of it. Now, wait a minute. Well, wait one second, LOB. Yeah. The listener is going to have to make their mind up. I want you to listen closely to the question and see if you could tell at any point if L.O.B. has had a drink. Name three judges from American Idol. Sounds worse now than it did. American Idol. Now, it's tough when I make you have to strain your ears.
To strain your ears to hear, hmm, can I tell? What is a swashbuckling movie franchise starring Johnny Depp? Oh, my gosh. That word's not fair. Okay, to someone who's had a few thoughts. Swashbuckling. Name any state that borders Florida. They all run together. They do. All the words. They do. I love it. Who is a geo? Go ahead. This is me keeping it together, by the way. Me being like, all right, it's time. I got to get this thing done. I got to get this audio. I have to go to work. I'm going to work. I got to work. I got to go work now. The music's off, everyone. I need to do something. Who was a GOP candidate that ran against Obama in 2008? Obama. Obama. That's not bad. That wasn't that bad. Obama. Obama. What is the name of the movement that has protesters down at City Hall? She almost fell asleep during that question. If you listen closely to hear, she almost dozed off. I may have, actually. In the middle of that question, she almost dozed off. What is the name of the movement that has protesters down at City Hall? Oh, there she went. There she went. There she went. I don't like thick fry. Lauren. I'm a lyricist. Woods. Oh, I want filth. I want straight.
As filthy as it can get. And Jay. I've got bees in my attic right now. On FM 94.9. It's like Portland outside. Next time it's sunny, can we just put a bubble over it all and save it? Just bottle it in. Bottle it in. They did an autopsy on Gaddafi. They know that the way that he died was... From a gunshot wound to the cabeza. Now, what they don't know was, was it long range or close up? Or at least they're not saying. They're not going to tell you. Woodsy, what's going on in sports? Well, there have been some changes in the college football rankings. There were a couple of big upsets this weekend. Oklahoma lost to Texas Tech, who was a 28-point underdog. Oh, wow. One of my many universities I attended. Well, I was enrolled in.
You went, yes. You didn't actually attend much, but LSU and Alabama are the top-ranked teams. Oklahoma State is third, and Boise State and Clemson round out the top five. Also, this is a big story coming out today about Indomitian Sue, who's the defensive lineman for the Lions. Apparently, yesterday in the game against the Falcons, Matt Ryan got hurt, and apparently Sue was running his mouth a little bit and said, hey, get the cart, get the cart, among some other things. I didn't really have a problem with it because, well, it's football. Number one. And number two, sticks and stones, Atlanta Falcons. But they're all up in arms. You shouldn't taunt a player when he's hurt and injured. Fine. Warren Sapp had a company called Quarterback Killer. So, feast. I mean, this is offense against defense. It's football, fellas. Sticks and stones. It's not very classy. No, nobody said it was classy, but, you know. It's kind of classless. Don't cry about it. It's football. Yeah. You know. What are you, British? You got all these. You know what I dug? I dug Jerry Rice scoring a touchdown hand and a ball over the rest. Well, I dig it, too. I mean, I don't need a big celebration. But, hey, if a guy wants to run mouth, run mouth all you want, sticks and stones. Now, if he jumps on his face or something, that's a different story. I say sticks and stones, break bones, and words hurt, too. Not if you're an NFL lineman. Don't they? M1 Angel from El Cajon. Are you there? Is it Angel or Anhill? Angel. Okay. Angel, what was the word of the day? The word of the day was bubble. That is correct. Little Angel.
Little Angel. Little Angel. There you go. Congratulations. You're going to see City in Color. Hang on the line. Unemployment's going down in San Diego. That's a good thing. And sorry, Seattle, but we have better coffee than you do. There was a big competition and Bird Rock Coffee Roasters in La Jolla won. Wow, all of them. Nice. So that's a pretty big deal. I'm going to need to get me some of that. That's right. CreateYourDesignOnline.com is our friend Jared. Check him out. He's amazing, does amazing work. If you want a business card, if you want a website, if you want anything graphic design, he's the guy to call, and he's unbelievable, and he will get it done fast. Okay, the game is called, Are They Real or Fake? And do we do a thing where people pick us? Pick a horse. All right. So call us. 5701949. You're going to pick me, Jay, or Woods. I'm terrible. Me, Jay, or Woods. And L.O.B. is going to give us facts or maybe they aren't. We have to decide. Facts in quotes. In quotes. Finger quotes. Tell us stuff about her. And it could be real. It could be fake. We've got to figure it out. And you've got to take everything into consideration.
And the prize is the Ben 10 Galactic Racing for the Nintendo Wii based on the Ben 10 Cartoon Network series. You have figured that word out. Darn it. Real good. I have to practice before I say it every time. Nin. I want audio of that. Nin. Nintendo. Nintendo. Damn it. Nintendo. Nintendo. Video game for the Nintendo. It was Nintendo. Oh, wow. M1. Mark from La Jolla. Who do you want? Woods. Hang on the line. Oh, boy, that's a bad pick. M1. Mustache from San Diego. Who do you want? Mikey. Okay. I'm the Ryan Lee for this game, dude. So far, Mike's done the best. Oh, yeah. I've got one right. Oh, that's right. I'm sorry. Yep, I won once, too. And let's see. M1. Maloney is on the line from Santee. Are you there? Yeah, I'm here. And you've got Jay. Hang on the line, okay? Thank you.
All right, so we're going to hear things about LOB. We've got to decide. Are they real or fake? Let's do this. Okay. When I was in first grade, I was in the newspaper for helping to make a dinosaur out of recycled plastic bags. If that isn't true, that is clever. It's fake. Jay's shaking his head. Fake, fake, fake. Okay, I say it's real. I say it's fake. I say it's fake. LOB? It is real. Dang you. Damn it! You little hippie. You little hippie. I thought there was no way your mom would let you do that. Recycle, man. It was reduce, reuse, recycle. Oh, my God. Big program. Explains a lot. Give a hoot. Don't pollute. Yes, exactly. Just burning patchouli oil at six years old. Okay. When I was in seventh grade, I had a solo in the play Oklahoma. No. It is fake. Fake.
Woods? It's fake. We all say it's fake, L-O-B. Yeah, sorry, I couldn't help it. It's fake! Yeah, fake. Yes. You guys know I can't sing. I know you can't sing. All right, all right, all right, all right. Okay. It's fake! When I was eight years old... I haven't said anything yet. Fake. Fake. When I was eight years old, I cut my finger by putting my finger around the rim of a peaches can that had just been opened to try to lick up the peaches. Oh, yeah. It's real. That is real. There's no question. It's real. That is fake. No! It's brilliant. That's brilliant. God, you're like Hemingway. Gosh, darn it. Making up stories. My little brother actually did that, but with iced tea mix. Gosh, darn it. That hurts. Oh, it is.
His whole finger. There's nothing worse than the little slices. Oh, God. You know? Two to one to one. Miguel in the lead. Miguel is in the lead. Okay. When I was a freshman in college, I was in our school's gong show, and I did a dance routine to Beastie Boys' song, Girls, dressed as a man. Real. Jay. I'm going to try to even this up, so I'm going to say fake. I'm going to say it's real. It's real. Dang it. Yes. I was playing the odds. Right now, Mike is in the lead again. Dang it, Mike. Three. Let's do this. Woods, two. Jay, one. Maybe you switch up the order. By the way, it's the only game that I win at. You're good at it, pal. Okay. I just have one more for you guys. All right. We'll switch it up. All right. Switch it up. How many points is this worth? Should I do that? Yeah, yeah.
This will be a four-pointer. Oh, my God. Four-pointer. Four-pointer. Four-pointer. All right. When I was 18, I had a fake ID that I got from the DMV. Jay. I'm going to say that is... Woods. There is no way she has balls big enough to go do that. There's no freaking way. It's fake. I say it's fake, and Carly did it, her sister. It is real. Dang it. Holy. Oh, my God. I could have taken this whole enchilada. You did that? Yes. Took your sister's birth certificate. You are ballsy. Ballsy. Took my sister's old license. Oh, my God. And her yearbook. That is a piece of gold in your hand. Oh, yeah. Did I win? L-O-B, you little minx. Yeah, you won. So, Mike, you won. That's three. M1 mustache. Congratulations.
Thank you. Hang on the line. Dude. Which I do not advise people out there doing. That is ballsy. Don't you see? So I had a legit ID. Yeah, legit with her picture. My picture, her name and information. Wow. Yeah, it's ballsy. Mariah Carey, is she as uptight and as diva-ish as people think? Well, let's see. Now, some people are going to find this to be annoying. Some people, maybe you can really relate to it. You tell me. Mariah says that late in her pregnancy, she could barely move, barely get out of bed by herself. I was afraid I wasn't going to be able to walk properly again. It was a huge strain. I would sit and then someone would need to help me up. I couldn't go even to the...
Lou by myself. I was just like, what are we doing? Are we going to the hospital? No, I'm going to stick it out. I'm going to keep taking this medicine to keep these babies in. So they could be born full term? Yes, I wanted them to be. But I made it to 35 weeks, and then the doctor said it wasn't safe. Then you had a C-section? Yes. Rebecca went 37 weeks with the twins. They were six pounders. She had 12 pounds of baby in her. She had to be helped to the toilet? Really? Really? It's different for everyone. It is different for all women. That's what I've heard. Some are a piece of cake. Some are just worse. Some people are on bed rest just with one. Yep. Yep. She couldn't get out. She had to have somebody help her though. Plus she's a little older. She's, you know. She's not like, you know, the grandma from the Beverly Hillbillies. You know what I mean? Granny. Granny. That's hideous. She's married to some guy named Nick Cannon. Yeah. He's about 15.
He's 15, he's in 98 Degrees or something? Wow. He's in one of those boy bands. No, he's an actor. He was a solo artist, or is, I don't know. Singer, right? Yeah. And he's got a radio show. Now, tell me what you think of this comment. You told me that you were afraid that you could never trust anyone again. Do you trust him? Sometimes. Do you trust him? Sometimes. Sometimes. Wait a minute. Oh, he's sitting there. He's there. Oh, wow. What'd you say about it? Do more than sometimes? You tell me. Absolutely. Okay, then I trust him. Are you happy together? Absolutely. You think she ever questions? Especially when he's nice. When he's nice, he's the best guy on the world. Other times he's not nice? Yeah.
You know, he's a man, Barbara. Gosh darn, dude. You know, let's put it the way, let's call it what it is. Maybe you zip your lip. She's honest. Is she? Is she or is she just a diva? Zip your lip, dude, about what goes on in our home. Can you imagine if he said that? He's like, hey, zip your lip, dude. Zip your lip, B. She's honest. She's stupid. Yeah, she's dumb. No, she's not. You keep your family, air your dirty laundry. Not to have that lisping Barbara Walters. No. Sometimes she trusts him. Is he really mean? That wouldn't be an exciting interview. Yeah, everything's great. Perfect. Well, yes. He can be a real pain. There are some questions, though, that are a little surprising. She's basically saying, do you think this dude's faithful? Right. And she's like, eh. They probably got in a fight like the morning before Barbara came over and she was like, mm-mm. Baby, baby. Hey, baby, please. Don't say nothing. Please don't say nothing to Barbara. Don't talk to me. Don't say nothing to Barbara. Don't even look at me. Don't be airing our dirty laundry apartment. Don't even. Please don't say nothing. Girl, don't say nothing. Please don't say nothing. Shut it. Identical L-O-B. Do you mean identical Mariah? No, he meant Mariah's identical L-O-B.
Oh, Jay. Jay is just digging a grave. You're just a mean person. You are. Isolate. I am so nice. Isolate. You are not. I'm nice to my fans. Yeah. Real nice to them. I'm just trying to get the my man flock going. Thank you. Do you guys know Madonna got booed at the screening of her new movie? Oh, boy. She has a new movie? I guess so. Must miss. Yeah. I agree with that. 100% must miss. Sincere. This is Madonna. I'm absolutely appalled. You're from Queens? Yeah. I live in London now. Great. You're from Queens, New York? I know. So, what is your point? You have an accent, though. Well, it's just my affectation. Yeah, but that's not the way you talk. You're from Queens. Right. I believe this is a Queens accent, no? The Queens, yes. Yeah. Yeah, that's... Does anybody have any thoughts? Why is she getting booed? Either her movie sucked. I bet they didn't see it. No, they don't like her. They just hate her, yeah. I thought you guys would know. Oh, well, she did blah, blah, blah. No idea. I don't really follow Madonna much. I know there was controversy with her a couple years ago because she was trying to illegally adopt that.
Kid from another country. Yes, exactly. Was it illegal? I think she was trying to like cut corners and yeah, legally do it. Because she was trying to hold star power. Listen to this. Jay's recap says, took Kim to lunch yesterday. While Kim was in the restroom, I did my favorite thing. Eavesdropping. Eavesdropping. Like the eavesdropping. There were two young girls behind me. One was holding a baby. So I stared at her boobs naturally. Well, that's what you do. I couldn't. They were right behind me. The girl with the baby was saying how disgusting breastfeeding was. The other girl said she had read it wasn't even necessary to breastfeed anymore. She said, and I quote, science has made breastfeeding obsolete. The girl with the baby said, OMG, that is so cool. I had to do everything in my power to not take the baby and run. I wanted to grab that baby up. Why? Because she, wow, Jay is shocked that you guys would even say why. Breastfeeding is huge for a baby.
And there's nobody that's out there saying that breastfeeding is not good for a baby. Well, it's the best option. Well, this one girl said they. Science has made it so that you don't have to do it. No, you should still do it, right? Yeah, absolutely. If you can. If you can. Some people can't. Yeah, if you can't, that's fine. But if you can't. She used to say it was gross to have a baby do that. Her baby. She thought it was gross. That's what she was saying. It's her own kid. I was just... When Kim came back, I was like... Wait, wait, wait, wait. You know what? Actually, that doesn't surprise me too much because I get grossed up on my kids. Oh, really? Yeah, dude. It was like... I remember when Cindy Crawford was talking before she got pregnant. She was talking about she didn't want to have a baby and get pregnant because it would give her stretch marks and stuff like that. And people attacked her. But it was an honest thing to say. I mean, they said it was like... how vain are you that giving birth to your kids would have some sort of physical effect on your appearance. But I think the girl's just being honest. Britney Spears had a scheduled C-section. Yeah. She scheduled a C-section and purposefully got a C-section because she didn't want to go through the pain of childbirth. To each their own. Yeah, that's what I kind of say. I mean, not for me, but... I had all my children vaginally. Isolate. No. No.
Hey, if you isolate that... He's pointing. He's pointing. I will have that. No. No, no, no. That was for comedic effect, and it is not to be played back. Not to be isolated. That's clean and perfect. That was perfect. Much like your births. Yes. My births all went fine. Natural. They were all natural, which was tough, you know? Your body is a wonderland. I didn't want... to have to put anything into my body. So I made sure that they were all natural. Did you get to the point where you were almost like screaming for the epidural? Oh, for sure. For sure. And then they said, it's Mike, you're at 40 centimeters. 40. Maybe you're just walking out. Hello. Which is a foot and a half. Oh, man. And so, yeah. But otherwise. That sounds just like a stadium. Identical stadium. That is some weird echo. Hello, hello, hello, hello. We'll do our own. Do our own audio. We'll do our own audio. Okay. Hello, hello. Hello, hello. Save me back. Now we can do the shower. Hello, Mike.
Here we are, Mike. Mike, it's good to see you in the shower. Good to see you too, man. Won't you join me? Hang on, I've got to start the steam again. It's weird. Why are we in the shower? I don't know, but this machine is cool. This machine kicks ass so much. Hey, why don't they just put a sign on the door that says, you have three weeks left here, okay? We don't like you. You're going to work here three more weeks. And we haven't fixed that thing because you're out of here anyway. What's the point? What's the point? We don't want to waste our time. That's awesome. I got an email for you and I'm going to read it to you next. And I hope, I hope it doesn't freak a lot of people out. Tell you what it has to do with. It's going to upset somebody like Woods that the cheap bit kills Woods. Slice it. Yeah. Pop it in. And turn it on. Hold on.

The reason I've never been comfortable around kids, I'm always petrified they're going to go, You're short and fat. You don't skimp on hair products. You don't skimp on haircuts. You don't skimp on DJs, designer jeans. And you don't skimp on your teeth. Lauren. Yep, I admit when I'm wrong. And Jay. They will eat my edamame if I leave it out too long. On FM 94.9. Do you know this song, LLB? Mm-hmm. It's a good one. I need to make a playlist with some of this in it. Help you. All the fears you cry. I'll be excited when this comes back. Because it will.
Everything's cyclical. Everything's cyclical, bro. Hair metal will? Yes. It will absolutely come back. It'll absolutely come back. I hope not. Why? What? L-O-B. You don't know it. You can't put it down. Yes, I do. I know it. I like one in every 30. I don't get it. It was so good. It's fun. God takes me back such a good time. Just French kissing girls. Not me. I didn't get to do any of that. Second base real good. Yeah, for me, it was friends with girls real good. Just making them laugh. Just making them laugh, just being there. Being there for them. At least you were hanging out with them, though, right? Right. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays. Yeah, I mean, the weekends were reserved for when they had to go on dates and stuff. Yeah. That's when I would just, you know, stay home, I guess, and watch TV. Eat your feelings. Your feelings? Your feelings. How did sadness taste, Mike? That's delicious. What's despair taste like, Mac? I've always wanted to know. Mac, did you just, every once in a while, even years later, do you still get a hankering for dignity? Hey, Mac, when you say anger is hurt, sadness, fear, were those your side dishes? Oh, my gosh. Just a buffet. Oh, my gosh. Mac, do you know the... Did you get those on the side, Mac? You know the s'more it is, Mac? Yes.
That's what you went to every Friday night. Just eat your pain away. Smartest part of sad. And loneliness, despair. Take some shame. Get a little shame. You need a little shame on your clip. I would like some shame. Oh, give him another scoop. He wants more of that. Do y'all have pain back there tonight? Because, boy, I need some pain tonight. Humiliation's still two for one. If it is, I'll take four of them. Double scoop. It's so great. Just kick a guy when he's down. Speaking of that, this weekend took the kids to the pumpkin patch. And they've got these spinning, I don't know, you sit in them. Dreidels? Yes, Woods, they're spinning dreidels at the pumpkin patch. How did you guess? They're made of clay and you... It's a game. Oh, my head. They're like giant buckets. There's about eight of them in a circle. And one person sits on one side. One person sits on the other. So Jake wanted daddy to take him. So I put Jake in and put the little lock around his waist. And then I had to get in. And I'm thinking to myself, Lord, I love you. Will you please let me fit? Because if I don't, I'm going to have to announce to this.
English as a second language gentleman. Dude, that made it worse. I'm going to have to announce to him that I don't fit. Then I'm going to have to get out. Then I'm going to have to have Rebecca get in. And Jake's going to be very upset because he wanted daddy. Why, daddy? Why, daddy? You don't want to play with me? I fit. Room to spare? It's designed for a kid. Is. And their parent. It. So, it starts to spin. And when it spins, there's a circle in the middle of it and you grab the circle and you spin it and it goes more. Now, Jake's having the time of his life. He is loving it. And so he asked me to spin it. And I do. And I'm not kidding you, man. I don't get sick on rides. I'm not that guy. But I'm so dizzy that I feel like I'm going to black out. But I'm with my son and he wants to spin.
So I'm trying to make the conscious decision. Do I sacrifice his fun for my passing out? And I decided, no, I'm going to sacrifice my passing out. I'm going to spin this thing. So we're spinning wildly. And I'm feeling like a test pilot for the Navy back in the days when they were testing G-forces. Oh, boy. And I feel like, yeah. And I'm thinking, and I actually, for a moment, I'm going, I'm going, I'm going. And I didn't. But when that thing stopped, it took me the rest of the day to feel normal. That's called injury to the insult. You know, I mean, it's already there. I don't think your size has anything to do with it. Jay does. Jay does. Jay.
Gosh darn. Why did I ever say those words? Why did I ever make that noise? Why did I ever give him? You thought you were in the trust tree. I thought I was in the trust tree. Never in the trust tree. I hate spinning so much. Nauseating. Nauseating. When we went to Disneyland with Jake, Mike and I both go, no, no, no, no, no, no. It's cool. My wife, Jamie, took Jake on the teacups because I can't do it. Even as a kid. I can't do them, dude. Oh, the teacups. Spinning. I'll do the through the fingers vomit on the ride. Oh, wow. Just the hideous. Wow, that was graphic. It'd be good to know that about somebody that can't spin around in circles. There's an insult there, but I don't know. That's Wipeout, I think. That or it was being sexual. One of the two. No. That's all he's got. Wipeout? Fat and sex. Wipeout. Fat sex. That's all he's got. Fat sex. Fat and sex. Wipeout. Somebody should know that they can't spin around. Yeah, they spun me like a madman on that thing and I couldn't handle it. Soaked in palm olive and throwing rubber tires at me and foam bricks at my head. Weird. I couldn't handle that. What a P word I am. Not everybody makes it through. It's difficult. That's true. I don't know. The 17-year-old girl did a week later. Smaller center of gravity. Less weight to carry around. Much smaller. All right. Hey, in Japan, they're going to start pink Pepsi. Strawberry flavored. Check again. Strawberry milk. Yes. So freaky gross.
Gross. That's the worst thing I've ever heard. Why? Why? Why do they want that? Strawberry milk. It's the last thing in the world I would want. You don't like carbonated strawberry milk? Doesn't everybody love carbonated strawberry milk? Every time I go out to eat, I'm like, do you guys have carbonated strawberry milk? Not this week. Ma'am from Japan, are you excited that the new strawberry milk Pepsi is coming out? Yeah, because of her. Strawberry. And the taste of the Pepsi product. I cannot wait to buy strawberry milk. Oh, wow. That is some gross stuff. Sick. That's hideous. Hey, man.
I haven't had sodas in a really long time, and I had a diet A&W root beer this weekend. I thought I was drinking again. I was like... Did it get you? Did it have you thinking about getting another one? Oh, no. Real good. I won't buy them, but there was two in my mini fridge. And I was very thirsty and I drank one. And I'm not kidding. It was like drinking a beer. Rebecca comes in. She's like, what is that? What are you doing? I'm calling your sponsor. I'm calling my sponsor. I don't know what happened to me. What'd you have? I had an A&W. Root beer? Yeah, I was dying. You're fine. We'll do the e-mailer for you next week. on the Mikey Show now. Call 570-1949. Text them at 949mikey at gmail.com. That's it. And you can't find it. I can't find it. Every time I bite into it, it goes... Lauren. I write bad reviews about them online. And Jay. She'll go on a girls trip and I'll go on like a surf trip or something. But if I have a choice, I would rather be together. Whoa, what am I hearing? Now. On FM 94. They have something called the Litter Robot. It costs $339. $339. And it claims that it will.
Keep you from having to clean up your cat's poop. Sold. Well, it's $339, dude. I think that's a good investment. That's a good investment. Yeah. It's pretty disgusting. They have pet high chairs. What? Yep. $50. 99 cents. Because a lot of people like their dogs to be with them at the table. Oh, man. Even I'm not that psycho. I've seen the strollers for dogs. No, there's nothing wrong with those. Dogs should be able to walk. A dog stroller. Yes. That's borderline. Isn't it borderline personality? No. Disorder. And I'll tell you why. Disorder. I'll tell you why. Disorder. I'll tell you why. Don't give me the little legs bit. No, no, no. It has nothing to do with what they look like. When I did the pet expo bit, there was a lot of people walking their dogs around in strollers because there was a lot of other dogs around. But on the leash, they're not always protected. So in the stroller, they're protected.
They can't jump out? No. There's actually a little, like a netting. So they're in there and you push them like a little baby. Very sweet. That's too far. It's too much. It's not. It's actually unfair to the dog to not let the dog walk around. Fair to me. They like it. Me and you. They like it. Penny Belle jumps right in her bag. When we open her bag and it's time to go, she dives in that thing. So they love it. They absolutely love it. Prisoners learn to like their sails as well. What's a sail? It's what they live in. Did you mean a sail? Sexy beast fragrance for dogs. No. Not for dogs. $65. Are you kidding me? $65, especially for dogs. We might have bought some spray perfume and cologne for our dogs before. Maybe. Maybe. We might have. Why don't you just give them a bath? Because there's seven of them and it takes a while. We might have bought some perfume and cologne for our dogs. Might have. Maybe. That's...
Excessive. It's excessive. We might have. Kind of crazy. We might have. Borderline personality disorder. No. We might have, though. It's borderline personality disorder mixed with just a touch of bipolar disease and... It's a little excessive. Schizophrenic. Schizophrenia. It's a little excessive, I think. And psychosis. A little excessive. I think maybe cystic fibrosis as well. Cystic fibrosis. Wow. No kidding. Yeah. Borderline diabetic. Bowser beer, 1999. What might that be? Exactly what it sounds like. Is it beer for your dog? Dogs like to party. They like the taste. It's $3.34 a bottle. It doesn't have alcohol, though. Maybe O'Doul's. Penny Bell likes Pinot Grigio. Maybe water. It's a true story. That is bad for your dog. Just a little sip. She likes it. That is bad. She loves Pinot Grigio. Also likes Pinot Noir a lot. Doesn't really like Chardonnay. That is really bad. It's not really bad. Oh, it is not. A lick of wine keeps the doctor away, L.O.B., even for a dog. Come on. That's not bad, L.O.B. Do you know how small their little livers are? Yeah, but he only gives them a little tiny lick. But my mom can get drunk off of half a wine cooler. Right. My mom's a grown woman. That's a lot of stuff.
They're just taking a little dab. She sticks her face and goes... It's the equivalent of a thimble. Yeah, not even. Not even a thimble full. Just give it to our kids then, too. Oh, wow. Well, hey, they did. They used to. Used to give you whiskey. A little bit of whiskey on the gum. Did your parents do that? No. I'm thinking about that this weekend because Jake's about to start losing teeth. You should do meth. Oh, gosh, Woods. Oh, wow. That was hardcore. Lose teeth real well. Yeah. Ow. He's knocking right out. But I think it's pretty trippy that we, you know, that our teeth fall out. Yes. That's disgusting. Isn't it kind of disgusting? I was thinking about that too, yeah. Your teeth fall out, then they come in and you keep them your whole life. Well, then they fall out again when you get older. It's one of my number one fears, a loose tooth. It makes my stomach hurt to one day reach my mouth. I've had dreams about loose teeth. I've been like, oh God. That means something. I know. It's anxiety. A lot of people, they say that's like a really common dream about your teeth falling out. It's anxiety. The loose tooth bit. If one of my teeth was loose, I don't know what I would do. What does it mean naked dreams? When you're naked in public. You're a sex pervert. Yes. If you're naked in public, sex pervert. Sex pervert. I think it means you feel like very vulnerable. Vulnerable.
Dreams of flying means you want to escape something. I never have dreams of flying. I dream that I'm flying nude with a loose tooth. That's really weird. It's the worst. When I was a kid, I hated loose teeth. And the reason was because nothing skewed me out more than breaking that tiny piece of flesh. Did you ever do the bit? No. With the string? No. And try it in the door? No. We tried all that stuff. You did that? Gosh, dude. No way. Mine was the slightest hint of being loose. I would wiggle that thing so that it was out by the end of the day. It's something that we all relate to. Every one of us, every human being has taken their tongue and wiggled their loose tooth with it. Sitting in class for three hours just going... Yeah, just wiggling it. It tastes like copper when it's gone. When it's gone, that slot feels so giant. The giant cavity. The pit in your gums. It's so soft. You run your tongue over it. I hated losing a tooth. I hated the moment. I never messed with it. I wanted it to fall out on its own.
I messed with it until it fell out. Me too. My kids are always so excited because the tooth fairy is coming that night. What do they get at your house a nickel? No, the tooth fairy usually brings about a dollar. That's cool. They get like granola. A little piece of berry or two. A little blueberry. It's only because I meet the tooth fairy at the door before the tooth fairy comes in and I say, I'll give it to her. Trust me. I took 95% of it and put the rest under Maddie's pillow. Yeah. College fun. She didn't know. She had no idea. But the fairy said, no, it's my job. And I said, no, no, no. It's all right. My house, my job. Why does the fairy talk like me? I'm going to shoot you. It's my house, my rules. And yeah. I'll come in here. I'll shoot you. Nobody will know. Give me that dollar. I could bury you. Nobody would know it. That's a big desert. Actually, all the kids would know. No, they won't. They would. Hey, listen. Kids ain't going. Well, what I'm saying is it's going to take one hell of a private investigator. to figure out which house she's at. All right? Because you don't keep no log book, nothing like that. No flat plan? You don't have a flat plan. You don't have a log book. You don't have nothing. What's a flat plan? Yeah, what's a flat plan? I said flat plan. You heard it. Don't play... I seriously thought that. What is a flat plan? Yeah, it's a flat plan. The other guy sounds like you say flat plan. You too, huh, Hillary? You're going to do it to me too, huh? Team up. Yeah, just get it. Everybody just...
Is that like a day planner? Yes. Organizer. Flat planner. Careful in there. He's been cutting very deep today. Listen to this. One in six bosses will drive by your house to see if you're really sick. What? One in six bosses will drive by your house to see. They called in sick, huh? Oh, wow. Check that out. Let's just see about that. Wow. Careerbuilder.com did a study. What if they were at the doctor? That's a good excuse. That would be mine. Drugstore. I'd need to see a receipt. And a doctor's note. I've been asked for a doctor's note before when I was not sick. What did you do? I have a friend that we called a good doctor. I made a call to the good doctor and he faxed me over a doctor's note. And I went, give him the finger. There goes your note, pal. Even though they were correct. You don't ask me. I was incredulous. Yes, I was. Hey, here's your doctor's notes. Suck on it. I'll be at my desk.
If you choke on it. It's too bad there wasn't a formal investigation open. Dude. But here's the deal. I get sick. I get sick days. I wasn't over them. Don't worry about it. People can be sick without having to really be sick. I'll just sip this one out by staying home today. I don't need to go to the doctor. So great. The thing I hate, though, being on the radio and calling in sick. Oh, yeah. I get the biggest not in my stomach. Doesn't matter who my. program director is making that call you know at that early in the morning and and and they have to like scramble to find a replacement for you or they have to do it themselves yes that's why i'm not sick yeah it's tough you know it's though well it freaks me out to make that call i'm driving by your house i see i don't see your car here where are you it's in the garage I looked in the garage and I didn't see anything. How did you do that? Yeah, you don't worry about it. What I did is I lifted it up just enough to see. I didn't see a thing. I was at the doctor. Where are you? I was at the... What doctor? Doctor, doctor. Doctor what? Doctor Pepper. You're fired. Hillary, what do you got coming up?
Well, I was thinking about it over the weekend with Guildfest coming up November 5th, where we're celebrating the FM 94.99th anniversary. Yeah. We play Matthew Sweet. We play Telekinesis. But this other band, Stone Foxes, is playing the main stage. We don't really play them that much, so I'm going to play them. There you go. Sweet. So everybody can hear what they sound like. The Stone Foxes, they are awesome. Mastodon, Switchwood, I grabbed Foster the People, and The Church, Starfish record. Nice. Nice. How are you doing? Lovely talking. Hillary is up next. We'll see you again tomorrow morning at 6. The Mikey Show is out.
