Host Mikey kicked off the show with the word‑of‑the‑day litter game, promising Yo Gabba Gabba tickets to caller nine. Woods and L.O.B. led a lively debate about pantyhose pads, while Jay explained how bait cars cut San Diego vehicle thefts by 65%. The crew also remembered Amy Winehouse’s alcohol‑overdose death, celebrated L.O.B.’s egg Ballin, played Smart Guy and Lip Read challenges, and ended with Woods sharing a touching story about his deceased tarantula Rosie. The show featured a true‑statement round where callers weighed in on topics like single men at theme parks and big weddings, and the uncomfortable alarm was replaced with a softer sound effect. Throughout, regulars Lauren, Chris, and the M1 callers contributed jokes, personal anecdotes, and occasional heated exchanges.

Yeah, dog. Look at that. Phone lines already lighten up. That's what I like to see. 570-1949. You can also text us. 949mikey at gmail.com. All about anything you want. Phone lines open at the beginning of the show for you to call in as M1 Nation. M1 is somebody that listens to the Mikey Show. When they call us, you turn your radio down, get to your point, and don't cuss. You know the rules. Yo, Gabba Gabba. If you've got kids, this is a hot show, and it's probably sold out. We will give you those tickets. If you're caller nine, when you hear the word of the day, which today is litter. Litter. So I will work the word litter into a sentence between now and ten, and when I do, caller number nine will give you those Yo Gabba Gabba live tickets to the Civic Center at the Civic Theater. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show.
And I'm 41 years of age. Woods is our sports guy. And he is 36. And L.O.B. is our assistant producer. She is 30. Jay is 48. He is our producer. And our phone screener is Chris. So we're losing enthusiasm for it's gross. We got to keep it up. That's Cros. That's Cros. I understand. It can get a little bit old, but some people really like it and still, when they write his name on Facebook, we'll say Cros. I noticed last night that now people just write me Wood. They say, hey, Wood. What time are you playing Saturday? Wood. It's a bit. I like it. I like it. Yeah, I know you do. Last night there was...
No World Series, right? Yep. Why not? Rain, huh? Well, was there actually rain? It was a little bit rainy. And they actually said that it was postponed because of an accurate wet forecast. But Lance Berkman, who plays for the Cardinals, was like, I don't know what the hell. I don't know why we didn't play. And he said, you know, it was worse in game one. There was no rain. It was a little spring. It was soggy. The ground? Yes. And the air was a little bit rainy. Well, it's a World Series. Maybe you've got to do something different. And I'll tell you why they do it. Because starting pitching is at such a premium. In the first game of the Yankees-Detroit series, they only played about two innings. And then they had to yank our two aces. Once you sit out and after you've warmed up, you can't come back in unless it's a very short delay. So if you're talking more than 30, 45 minutes, there go your aces. And they're done. They can't pitch again for a few days. So in a World Series game like this where they're down to only two games left, and if the Rangers win one, they win the whole thing, they don't want to take any chances. Where was it? It's in St. Louis. Yeah. And they don't want to take any chances. So I don't have a problem with it, but I was laying there in my bed thinking about if I was one of the Texas Rangers. I'm one game away from the World Series victory. And they're like, hey, game's not going on tonight. You're like.
Oh, boy. Oh, my God. What am I going to do? What am I going to do for the next 24 hours? You're just going to stress out. Dude, you just pace. You pace. You chew your nails. I'd go through probably four cans of snuff. Well, so when are they going to do it? Tonight. They're going to try to get it going tonight. Weather is still pretty gnarly up there. So they're hoping that they can get that one in as well. Today in 1904. The New York subway system opened for the first time. Yeah, Jay. Remember that. Was it nice, Jay? It was pretty for the time. Was there rats back there? Yeah, there were still rats. Cost a nickel. Cost a nickel. So ride the subway. The subway cost a nickel. Yeah, but who had a nickel? I know. That's true. Back in 1904, a nickel was probably a big deal. I wonder what that was. I bet it was about a dollar today. Yeah. I bet it was. You think? That's probably fair. Did it feel like that, a nickel? I made a dollar a week. I remember that. Took me a whole week to make a dollar. Yeah, well, then it was definitely because Jay, as you know, is 425. Moses. Today in 1938, DuPont introduced the world to something brand new that had never been seen in the world before called nylon. Didn't exist before 1938. Wow. And it was today that they put nylon out there and banks would be robbed.
Because of it. Yeah. Real good. Going over somebody's face. You know, somebody would put that over their face. Women would be wearing them on their legs to make their legs look nice and sexy. Men would be disgusted by them sometimes. You're disgusted by them? By pantyhose? Yeah, they make girls' legs look nice. Have you ever seen a pair of pantyhose hanging over the shower? No. Have you not? No. Oh, well, you're done. Oh, it's hideous. There's a pad. It's filthy. Oh, gosh, I do know what you're talking about. You know what I mean, and that's what gets me, and I'm done. It kills me at Hooters. Oh, it slays me at Hooters, too. I'd rather just see your legs. Me, too. Why do they do that? Then everyone has tan, smooth legs. Health code, I'm imagining. I think it's to smooth them on out. It's to smooth them out, but the ones there are very exaggerated. Very exaggerated in color and shininess. Hooters is thinking to themselves, we cannot have a girl with white, white legs walking around. Or bruised up legs. We can't. They want them to all look the same. Consistent. Uniform. Consistent. Yeah, the pad is what gets me. And it makes me... Now, nylons, one at a time, sexiest thing that you can do. Yeah. Especially those little clippy things where they hang down and they clippy. Yes. The jump-ins. I don't need you. The jump-in pull-ups. Forget it. They work for me.
You guys aren't supposed to see the top part. They work for men. Seeing the top part is sexy. It's way sexy. It's the sexiest thing in the world. The part that goes around your waist? No, no. Oh, that's what I meant, yeah. One at a time nylons that clip. Yeah, the ones that we jump into, you guys aren't supposed to see. It's supposed to be the illusion. Oh, yeah, those are filthy. They're hideous. All growing up, my mom wore one of those deals that it was a full body. Do you know what I'm talking about? The full body. And you put your arms through it. It was the full body. And once she was in it, it was my job to go in the back and hike it up. That explains so much. Yeah, it does. It really does. I know why you went to the bottle. I know exactly why. You turned to the bottle. That was always fun for me. I thought that was fun. Yeah, that's what we're talking about. She didn't have daughters. All she had was boys. Somebody had to do it. Well, and here was the deal. She couldn't have... one of the older boys do it because they would give her a wedgie right but for me it was it was perfect yep just the right height just the right height just the right you know when i was a kid so i always remember having to pull that and and she would go again you gotta pull it really and i you know as little i go it was fun and i would pull that sucker up i don't know what those are called girdles maybe a girdle i don't know a full body full body
Wow. You know? What a pain. I know. Can you imagine walking around in that every day? Forget it. Get out of it. Yeah, just get out of it. If you have to go. Oh, I know. Yeah. You're all sweaty. What do you do? What do you do? Maybe that's why they stop making. I don't even know if they still make them. Is there any chicks listening right now that your mom's wore that or you wear that? Those things, man. Just, I would say, as a rule, you should just get rid of the pantyhose. Yes. From the egg, you know, the jump-ins. Just get rid of those. No. Wear some tights. They slip. What do you wear, L.O.B.? I hardly ever do wear those things. But when do you have to? I usually wear the ones that you jump into. With the pad. The pad gets me so bad. It's not a pad. It's a pad. It's meant so that if you need to go commando, you can wear just the pantyhose. That's right. It's a shield. Well, it seems like they're not meant to wear with underwear. You can wear them with underwear. Oh, weird. I wouldn't. That person is weird. Yeah, you're a sex worker. Yeah, they have issues. What? You guys don't know what you're talking about. They have nudity issues. If you have to wear, you're never nude. If you have to wear panties and then put on a pair of nylons over it, you're afraid of something. The dark, creeps. You don't want to.
Have your junk hanging out. You're not going to have your junk hanging out, are you? I thought they were like pants. What if it blows up? I thought those things go on like pants, you know? But you got the pad. Do they go on like pants? Yeah, but they're so thin. I've never been more creeped out than I am at this moment right now. All right, well, I'll change the subject to this. Vehicle thefts at the border plummet. They've plummeted. And you know why? Because they're trapping them. Which I'm all for. Yes. Bait cars. Oh. Yeah, bait cars. The old bait and switch. Woods, do you have a problem with them luring these guys into cars? They put it out there as bait. They lure them in. And then once they're in, the doors lock. No, you know, it's weird. I have a problem with them trapping them for other stuff, but not that. Why? Why not this? Because of car theft, you're a jerk. You're a jerk, right? Well, they went from... Steal a car.
It's dropped, in the last five years, it's dropped 65%. Whoa, that's working. That's nice. That's a lot. That's working. They went from 2,233 thefts in 07 to just 771 thefts this year. That doesn't bother me one bit. I think that's great. The number one reason that people steal cars is for the parts. And what they did is, like I said, they have these bait cars. The thieves get in there. And what they do is they partner, the San Diego Police Department, they partner up with federal officers. And they put stolen junk in there to get them to lure men. And then they get locked. Imagine your feeling when that door locks and you can't get out. Oh boy, I'm done. They showed it one time on Dateline NBC. They showed it because they had a camera in there. And there was this gigantically big dude with tattoos. And he was just badass, you know. He started crying. Oh, of course. Not everybody does. But, I mean, most of them didn't. But that particular big dude, he cried. He knew. He was done. Done and done.
Oh, Amy Winehouse. Her parents said that they thought that she died of alcohol withdrawal. No, she didn't. The coroner has officially said she died from drinking too much booze. It was too much alcohol in her system. And they said that it was five times the legal limit. Wow. That's heavy, man. Heavy. Gosh darn, she must have just been drinking. Yeah. Like that Nicolas Cage in Leaving Las Vegas type drinking. Have you ever seen it, L.O.B.? Yes. Leaving Las Vegas. I had a giant fight with my brother about that because he thought that there was no reason for that film. Thought it was the worst film ever. I said, you know that movie is nominated for various Academy Awards. It won one, didn't it? I believe so. I believe it did. I believe he won. I think he won Best Actor. And I said, what's your problem with it? He said...
There's no one good in it. He said there's not any good thing in it. There's no good person, no good people. It's no fun. I agree. There's nothing. He said the whole movie is just about down, down, down. Everything's down. I said, yeah, but don't you kind of dig the acting and all that? No. Isn't that life? He says he doesn't go to the movie for that. He wants to escape. That's exactly the way I feel. He doesn't need to go be sad. He doesn't want to be sad. He wants to be made to laugh. I like realism, man. He was a bit of an over-actor in that. He was a little... Pretty good job. Elizabeth Shue? Dime in that movie. Where did Elizabeth Shue go? I don't know. That was about it. She was cute in that movie. Gaddafi's family is going to be suing NATO. They said, well, you know, because you did that rocket launch, you killed my dad. You can't do that. And so we're going to sue you. I don't know how you can sue for a war. Right. You know what I mean? For killing a dictator. Yeah. Killed a lot of people. Eight months. Eight months of fighting. 30,000 lives. Are you kidding me?
Come on. Well, we figured, Mike, that we would like to get something out of this. Right? Well, what are you going to get out of it? Possibly... What are you going to think you're going to get? What NATO's not going to give you, dough? Maybe a little bit of money, gift card. We asked for stock in McDonald's. Gift card for things. We get Burger King here. Okay, gift card for Burger King. I'm fine. I'd like to get Levi's. Levi's Gene. Love. Oh, we love here. I love to have Levi jeans. Slim fit, boot cut. Oh, let me tell you something. You walk around the streets of Tripoli and you're wearing a skinny jean. You're too badass, man. Forget it. The girls, I call them my, they didn't have a chance, right? These are my never had a chance. Never had a chance. And if I wear these, my boot cut. I prefer boot cut. Slim fit. I'd wear the slim fit. And when I wear these, never had a chance. No. In fact, this belonged. These look really good, young lady. Yeah, no one really likes Levi's in America. Well, these will look good on your chair next to your bed. And Levi's are just hitting Libya. I guess so. They're just coming on. 5.01? Oh, my gosh. How do you like your egg in the morning? Why? How do you like your egg in the morning? Scrambled. Okay, point taken.
Okay. Do you know how I like my egg in the morning? No. How do you like your egg in the morning? Unfertilized. Can I borrow your cell phone for a minute? No. I went to call God and tell him his angel fall to ground. Hey, are those mirrors on your pants? No. Well, then how come I can't see myself in there? Everything about you guys is stuck in the 90s. Yeah, it is. Have you heard the new band Culture Club? Culture Club. Culture Club. Great band. I wasn't alive when they were. Do you really want to hurt me? It's like from my mom's oldies collection. Do you really want to make me cry? You know what else is a good one that just came out? Time after time. If you're lost, you can look. And you will find me. You time after time. Yeah, I don't know that song. You don't know? Before I will catch you. No. We will vain. Cindy Vopper? You don't know Cindy Vopper? No. She must have been before my time. Wow. She was on Celebrity Printers. Get me out of here or something like that. Oh, that old lady? Yeah, you know, Captain Lou Albano in the video with the rubber band around.
Oh, boy. You know what's funny? I couldn't think of any more pick-em plans after that. I know. That's all I had in my arsenal. You know any LLB? No. Ellie, you've said that you like them, right? If a guy's clever. If they're clever, yeah. I've never had a one-night stand. I've never tried the lines. Never done a lot of that stuff that a lot of young people experience. Right. Weird. Anyway. I don't want to ask you guys because it would be embarrassing. I don't have to ask. He's shaking his head. No, you don't. Whatever worked is what you try. What if nothing worked? Try and try again. What if you tried desperately a lot? Then you wait until closing time. You're married now. I'm just talking about back in the battle days. Don't think about that.
Yeah, boy. That's what I'm saying. Home Alone. Home Alone watching Home Alone. Yeah. Pretty much. Monday's Halloween. Does your wife do any decorations, Woods? No. No? No. How about you, LLB? Do anything to get yourself in the spirit? No, I have a box of decorations up in storage. Couldn't get into it this year. You haven't? Mm-mm. Why not? I don't know. Your boyfriend, Matt Commerce, go up there and get it and bring it down and... No, I can get it. Yeah? Yeah. I have a stepladder. I'm used to it. I live alone. So, get up there and get it. She had Ballin this year. Oh, yeah. Where's Ballin? Where is Ballin? Ballin's right here. Ballin is her egg. There he is. There he is. Only one.
She's carrying an egg around. We're seeing how she does as a mom, just like they did in high school. You had to carry an egg around for a week. She's done great so far. So far, so good. When you drive, where do you put him? He gets wrapped up in this pashmina thing. Like a scarf? Yeah. And then what? Like the little thing in between. Oh, you do not put him in the seat next to you. No, I'd be afraid that it might pop out. Yeah, yeah. If you had to slam on your brakes or something. He's well protected in that pashmina. Very well insulated and protected. And you put him into a place in the console where he fits nice and snug? Yeah. No, I mean, it's kind of snug. I can keep an eye on it. Yeah. I guess Jay wants me to read this. It's a real name. Ballin. Let me see that. The origin of Ballin. Let me see that. I need a source on that, by the way. It's there. An M1 wrote in. M1 Katrina? Mm-hmm. That's an easy name to make up. Yeah, 100%. Easy stat to make up. On the Facebook page is where I got it from, so she's real. What's real? It's like real, but different. Here is, okay, here's what it says. Ballen. Mm-hmm. German and Danish. Habitational name for someone from a place so named near Narbernburg. Yes. That old favorite. Made up name.
The I-N ending suggests Slavic origin. Okay. It also has French roots. I love French ballin'. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Who doesn't? That made no sense. No. Occupational name for a maker of straw mattresses. Ah. Old French ballin', it says. Yep. Old. It has a... Jewish origin, but it's a variation. It's only one L in Bollen for the Jewish version. And then finally, Austrian Leonese. It's a habitational name from any of the places in Austria named Valen. What does a habitational name mean? It means that it's to that area. It's cultural to that specific area. And so if you... Have a kid named Ballin. Yep. We'd love to hear from you. We've never heard it here in America. Never. Do you see Ballin? Do you see Ballin? Let us know. Let us know. The only Ballin we know about is L.O.B.'s egg. He's right here. And you've done well. Yeah. Very well. So far. Take any pictures yesterday? Yep. I put one on the Mikey Show Facebook page. What are you doing in it? Ballin is listening to podcasts. He's listening to podcasts. How?
Is he doing that? He has headphones on. He has headphones on? Yeah. He's in his pashmina, smiling, listening to it. Maybe he has a sneak peek of the Mikeython podcast. Oh, boy. He's just stirring things up because those things aren't available yet? Yes. Holy cow. Do people ever ask about them? No, never. We're trying to get those podcasts from the Mikeython up, but we haven't gotten the device back from Canada that lets us do it. One thing we probably won't do is let people know when they're available. Oh, wow. We'll just post them on the sly at midnight. We'll post them on the sly, and then we'll make you just stumble upon them. We will put them up as soon as we get them. I love smart ass. Oh, man. When we come back, we're going to play smart guy. Oh, yeah. And we're also going to tell you about this dude from Dancing with the Stars that got real bitchy and doesn't apologize for it. That's next. I always have to look my sexiest. That's why I'm wearing these tight size 42s. Be a part of the show. 570-1949. Or shoot him a text at 949mikey at gmail.com. I'm sorry, our time is up. FM 94.9 and Napa Auto Parts.

It's a new line of three select supplements from the makers of Centrum. Help make nutrition possible. I'm Stacey Cohen, FM 94.9. Let's get to the point. And now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the program.
I'm your diminutive friend. Woods. I am real talented, but I'm not stupid. Lauren. I accidentally had a piece of beef yesterday. Yes! And Jay. I like my coffee black. On Anthem 94.9. Okay, so the word of the day is litter. So at some point, I'm going to be saying the word litter. And I'm going to work it into a sentence you're barely even going to notice. Now, when I do, you've got to be calling 9-570-1949. I'll give you Yo Gabba Gabba tickets. We're going to be playing Smart Guy in just a second here, so stick around. This guy's name is Maxim Tchaikovsky. Maxim Tchaikovsky. He's a professional dancer. He dances on Dancing with the Stars. Let me ask you this.
Is that the generation of entitlement? 31. I'm 30. You're not. But I wonder if your generation is. You're not. Are you Y? Are you Y? Gen Y? I think so. Generation Y? I think so. Which means, I don't even know. I think the generation right after me. Yes, the trophy. What do we call it? The trophy generation. Okay, it's after you. Right after LB. Probably like 25. Yes. Because I sensed that. I sensed a sense of entitlement with this dude. First of all, let me play you what we're talking about. He's a professional dancer on Dancing with the Stars. And he starts getting into a real heated debate, or not debate, fight, with one of the judges.
I've been in this business for nearly 50 years. My criteria to judge is different. He said maybe it's time to get out. Wow. To the judge. Maybe it's time to get out. Let's not be disrespectful to everybody, right? Because everybody's putting a lot of effort. Everybody on that balcony has been dying and killing themselves only to hear your guys a little judgmental comment. No, they're judges. They're judges. If they're being judgmental, it's in the name there. I'm not being disrespectful. I'm just protecting my partner. Let me protect you. So that happens, right? Turns into a big thing. And Good Morning America had this clown on television yesterday. And they asked him, did you apologize for it? Here's what he said. Any other regrets? Any second thoughts, what you said to Lynn or anything else, Max? Not really. No? No? Not really. Robin, look, you know, last time I apologized was to my grandma when she was dying of cancer, unfortunately, for everything that I may have done wrong. I definitely have nothing to apologize for Tulane. Certainly not Carrie Ann, you know, so she can make all these faces all she wants. Why'd she say you're sorry? I wonder what he did that got him so up in arms. He said...
That was the worst dance I've ever seen. And I've been doing this for, I've been in this business for 40 years. That's the worst dance I've ever seen. Which, you know, I guess their job is to be, you know, very demeaning. Well, their job is to be very critical. They're judges. And he told this guy, and I guess his thought in his head is, I am now going to be the guy that is the worst dance this cat's ever seen. And that could affect my career. Right. I just looked up online and he's Russian. Yeah. That guy. I know that's like a big source of if you can be one of the best dancers in Russia, that's like a big thing for them. So he's probably been such a big fish in a small pond. So to come have some like clown judge tell him that was the worst dance I've ever seen. Right. Probably like. So if you're a great if you're a great dancer in Russia, it's a big source of. self-esteem and of uh you know public esteem and to be told you're the worst i've ever seen in 40 years by an american i probably wouldn't take it well either i probably wouldn't have either yeah you tell me i'm the worst dancer you've ever seen i'd probably tell you to get yep if you told me i was the worst dancer that you've ever seen and uh you're a judge i'm just keep my mouth shut
Play it classy. What if Howard Stern said you were the worst host he's ever heard? Well, he has. No, he didn't. Just kidding. Yeah, but you just wouldn't take it. You'd defend yourself. Especially if I had a girl that was not a professional dancer and she was taken. That was the worst dancer. He was like, hey, look, you're a clown. Maybe you retire. Howard Stern ain't a judge. I mean, that's their job. What if it was like a competition? If it was a competition and somebody told me I was the worst. What am I going to do? They're a judge. See, I hate that bit, man. American Idol, they do the same thing. American Idol, they would tell them, you know, they'd be bitchy to them or whatever. And they'd be like, you know what? You just don't know. And I'm like, the difference is. See, but they're amateurs. Yeah, they're amateur singers. Yeah, that's it. They're amateur singers. This guy is at a level where he's like, I mean. I know what good dancing is. He's a pro. Yeah. I think he has more of a right to defend himself than like. Chaz Bono or somebody saying, you don't even know what you're talking about. He's a pro dancer. That would make no sense because you're like, well, you've been dancing for six weeks. Cher flipped out, by the way, because she got kicked off. She flipped out, went to the media. It's such a bunch of whores. I don't regret anything. That's why I think I'm misunderstood a little bit in this situation. Everybody's waiting for me to buy my head.
Take a knee and say I'm sorry and plead for forgiveness. I have nothing to apologize for. Like I said, I'm in this business, you know, because I love it. And, you know, I can't really lose. And because I love it, you know, and because it is impossible for me to lose, because I love it, you can't tell me that I'm the worst. Now, if I didn't love it, okay, then I can understand you're saying this to me. But because I love... You can't... It's illegal for you to say. With... remarks like this or with that and people are looking like, you know, I'm reading what's being said. Oh, how is he dared to speak like this? Well, guys, it's very... In my country, if you said I was worst dancer, we would cut your head off. Yes. Then you would have your head decapitated. We'd wear your head as a hat. Yes, we would. Kung is a necktie. Yeah, it's a necktie that we make into a lamp or something. That would be in Colombia. That's right. Hey, listen.
My grandfather was actually turned into a clock, an actual grandfather clock, because he did this. He made this remark to someone. 17 years ago, I was given an opportunity to live in a country where I can actually exercise my freedom of speech. And you're not afraid to do that. People don't know. I know. People don't know. Where I grew up, it wasn't possible. So now that I'm here, I like to tell everyone that they can shove it. Robin Roberts is like, you're not afraid to exercise your right to free speech. He's like, I'm just a dancer. I just dance. It's not a big deal. I just dance. I just want to dance. I just want to dance. I just want to dance. Alright, you guys ready to play some Smart Guy? Oh yeah. I love Smart Guy. Alright, here's how it works. You call us 570-1949 and you get... Seven clues to get this answer right. It's a person, place, or thing. What's the prize, Jay? We have a gift card to the Smash Burger and a pair of tickets to the Haunted Hotel. There you go. All right. First up, M1 Sponger from Escondido. Are you there? I am here, yes. Okay. You want a person, a place, or a thing? Let's do a person. You want a person. All right. I'm going to give you seven clues. You got to get it within seven, okay? Sounds good.
Are you ready? I am male. Okay. Take a guess. Hugh Jackman. That is incorrect. I am a comedian and actor. Dane Cook. Incorrect. I've starred in many movies. Adam Sandler. I was born in Texas in 1945. I'm not sure. My song King Tut was a billboard hit. Sorry, I'm going to move on to the next one. I have hosted the Oscars. Let's go with... I don't know at all. And last, I've appeared on Saturday Night Live. Okay. Yep. I am Steve Martin. That was tough. All right. Thank you. King Tut sold it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. How did you get so funky? That's where I got it. M1, Sarah from Oceanside. You there?
Yes, I'm here. All right, Sarah, person, place, or thing? Thing. Thing. You got it. Here we go. I am an insect. Praying mantis. Nope. I am widespread. Butterfly. Whoa. Smart. Yes. It's you. Nice. My dad. Little angel. Well done. You're a winner. Hang on the line. M1 Bud. From San Marcos. Are you there? I'm here. What would you like? Person, place, or thing? Oh, let's go with place. Mix it up. Place. Okay, you got it. Here we go. I am a body of water. Um, the Bunny Ranch. No. I am nearly surrounded by two North American countries. Uh, let's go with a brothel. That is incorrect.
Five U.S. states border me. The bunny ranch. All right. I produce powerful hurricanes. Gulf of Mexico. You are a smart guy. Hang on the line. Hang on the line, please. 5701949. Now we'll play for you. Now we'll play for you. Just give us a call. Who should we start with? We'll start with Woodsy. What do you want, Woods? Let's go with Person. All right. He's the only guy not to be a smart guy last week. I didn't get it. Woods was upset. I was very upset. I've been stewing on it for a week. What's the prize again, Jay? It's Woods' plan, so... I know, but what's the prize that we can give to somebody? Oh, a $20 gift card to Smashburger and a pair of haunted hotel tickets. We have enough, right? I have one more of those. Okay. All right. Well, then we'll at least do one.
570-1949 is the number. And it's M1 Mick from El Cajon. Mick, are you there? Yes. All right. Woods is going to be playing for you, okay? Okay. So if he can get this, you're in the money. Come on, smart guy. All right, hang on. Let's do this, Mick. Here we go. Mind melt. I am a cartoon character. Oh, boy. Mickey Mouse. No. I socialize at the lodge led by the Grand Poobah. Bart Simpson? Oh, my God. I mean, yeah. No. My friend and I attend in big furry hats with horns. Hello, he knows this. I know it, too. Fred Flintstone. No. I drive my car with feet power. Barney Rubble. Yes! Smart guy. Scared me to death. Did it in four. Did it in four. Mick? Woods won for you. Hang on, okay? Thank you, sir. You bet, buddy. Hang on. Feast on it. Nice job, my man. Are we out? Oh, boy. Are we out or do we have any? We have other prizes, yeah. Let's do something else. What do we got? Yeah, let's go. We've got the Batman Arkham City for Xbox and PlayStation 3, the most anticipated game of 2011. That sounds cool. That's a cool prize. All right, L.O.B., you're on the hook. Mm-hmm. You are on the hook. What would you like? Person, place, or thing? I'll do a thing. Yeah, you will. Yeah. What am I? All right, cool. I'll do a what am I. All right.
And you are playing for M1 Canine from Vista. Are you there? Yes, I am. All right. Wish her luck. She's got seven. Willoughby? Yes. I'm an insect. Beetle. Nope. I've been around for a million years. Cockroach. Wow. That's two weeks in a row. That was going to be my first guest. Oh, my gosh. Lauren. I don't know that anybody's done it in one guess. She almost did. I wish I went with my gut. Canine, hang on, okay? Holy cow. She just won you that Batman game for Xbox. Hang on. Nice. Same prize, right, Jay? Yes. All right, you're up next. Okay, uh-oh. What do you want? Person, place, or thing? I want a thing this time. Okay, I will do it. I've actually got... Last time I messed up. I didn't give you a thing. This is an actual thing. M1 Ian from San Marcos. Are you there? Ian? Are you there? Let's see. Mikey Show, who's this? Hey, this is M1 Kova. M1 who? Kova. Kova. All right, Kova. Wish Jay luck. Are you ready, Jay? Yes. You're going to do fine. You're scaring me. I am a visible collection of particles. Milky Way. No. I can also be made up of smoke, steam, or dust. Fog.
No, I am above the Earth's surface. The atmosphere. No, in the sky, there are different types of me. There are different types of you. Clouds. You did it. That's right, my man. He's really trying to get that out there. That's right. M1 Red, are you there? Yeah. All right, hang on. You're playing next. And M1 Kova. Jay did it for you. All right. And it only took him four. Hang on the line. All right. M1 Red, I'm playing for you, okay? I'm good. All right. Hang on the line. Oh, Woods, you're going to have to dig down in there because I made sure those were okay. Let's go with Thing. What am I? I'm scared because that's not my comfort zone. I think place is the hardest. Yeah, I do too. Place is tough. Place is tough.
All right, so we're going thing. Okay. All right, you got it? Here we go. All right. Just mark them off as you go along. You got it. I got up to seven. I'm a musical instrument. A trumpet. I was first seen over 2,000 years ago. Lots of air to make me work. Flute. No. I have a very distinctive sound. Bagpipes. Yes. Smart, though. Come on, Red. There. There you go, dude. Blue did it for Red. Hang on. Very well done, all of you. Let's see. Smart guys today. Yeah, we got smart guys today. Speaking of insects. That is actually very weird. Yeah, right? Because L.O.B., her...
Insect was a cockroach. And listen to a recap. This morning I did something I haven't done in months, maybe years. Killed a bug. Stayed over at Matt's house. Went to get in the shower. There was two bugs on the shower mat. Thought they were beetles. I shimmied the rug around. And they split in two different directions. I did the inverted scream. What was that? The one went away, the other one came closer to me, and I realized it was a cockroach. Know how those things can multiply? So I picked up a candle, smushed it. Candle. Then I said, Woods has his hand over her face. Woods has his hand over her face. L.O.B., push yourself away from the microphone in shame. She has her hand over her mouth in shame. Go ahead, Woods. I'm going to eat. I know her. I know she did it. I know she said it. She said it. Tell your friends. How can he tell them? Tell your friends, bitch. I thought about that after the fact. I was like, you can't tell his friends. She's bright red. She's chopped out a couple legs and then sent him out there to tell him. I meant tell you other cockroaches. You tell your friends. I hope you guys saw that. I hope you're watching and listening. I know you're there. I felt like Will Smith.
Oh, my gosh. Tell your friends. It's so great. You're crazy. You are something else. It was a little one. When we come back, when we come back, you're going to hear a five-year-old call 911 and say, quote, Mom's going to be pissed at me. And it's a little girl. Oh, no. Maybe we isolate. You'll hear it next. Or call Mikey now, 570-1949. More of the Mikey Show coming up in a minute on FM 94.9. Halloween is almost here, and Vons has monster savings on everything you'll need. I don't like that. I like gritty drama. Lauren. Just give me your opinion and I'll be on my way. And Jay. Keep it together. On FM 94.9. I would like to hear Joe Elliott sing nursery rhymes. I think that would be interesting. I'm trying to think of a nursery rhyme. Twinkle twinkle little star? Yeah, like that. Twinkle twinkle little star. Sounds a little Neil Diamond-ish. Ew. Yeah. Why did I do that?
A couple things I need to tell you. Wall Street, the protesters, their patience is wearing thin in towns, man. They're not having much patience anymore. In fact, in Oakland, full-on riots, man. I mean, full-on riots. New York City, they're really cracking down. And so I don't even think it's happening here anymore. I don't even think it's San Diego. They were doing anything. Boy, they were up in arms about it, though, weren't they, for 15 minutes? Yep. But it is... Pretty much chilled out. That's weird, man. Except in other places, man. In other places, it's gotten violent. Gosh, that's weird. Woodsy, what's going on in sports? I'm going to tell you some news that came down about Terrell Owens yesterday. But first, I want to tell you that sports is brought to us today by Dave and Buster's Eat Drink Play Football. Hey, guys, I told you yesterday, Terrell Owens did a workout for NFL scouts. Nobody showed up. Guy got a contract offer yesterday. From? The Chicago Rush.
The Arena Football League. Oh, gosh. $400 a week. And he's going to do it? Hell no. Oh, he got offered. He got offered. And his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said, that's absurd. Terrell will only be playing in the NFL. Will he? Will he? CFL will probably take him. Yeah. And CFL's not bad. But the Arena Football League? Yeah. It's no good. Although, Kurt Warner came from the Arena Football League. Came from there. Going back there would be a different story. That is true. It's cool to start low and work high. It's hard to go back to... He could make more money working in promotions at a radio station than working for that football team. There's no question at all. Our promo guys make more than that, I'm sure. Also, it is official. Jed Hoyer is now the general manager. of the Chicago Cubs after almost exactly two years on the job here in San Diego. Josh Burns has replaced Jed Hoyer. He has been around the organization, was also with the Diamondbacks for a while. Jed, see you later, man. Thank you so much for all the good work that you did here and trading Adrian Gonzalez to the Boston Red Sox. And then just splitting.
Then getting in cahoots with your buddy from the Red Sox to all go together to the Cubs. That's good. Thank you. It's called collusion. But, hey, don't let the door hit you on the way out. Thanks very much for all the hard work for two years. Has there been any rumblings about who might replace him? Yeah, I just told you. Josh Burns is replacing him. I was not listening. I'm sorry. I was trying to get something ready. I was trying to prepare this. You're a busy man. I am. You're a busy man, Mike. And Josh Burns is the man. Hopefully he can do a little bit better. There's a story out of Ohio. Five-year-old little girl backing the car out of the driveway. Five years old. And she called 911 to let the dispatcher know. The 911 call came in just after seven last night. 911, your emergency. Not on accident. Not on accident. Not on accident, little girl. Oh, before we start. Oh, boy. She's fine. She's cute. She's so precocious. She is fine. She's not precocious. She's scary. She's precocious. A liar is a liar. It was an accident. Listen. It wasn't an accident. It was an accident. An accident. Maybe she put it in gear on accident. Yeah, she turned the car on, put it in gear.
Accidentally? She's calling 911. I was seven when my dad whooped my butt flying. A frightened-sounding five-year-old tells the operator she's home alone and doesn't know where her mom is. It's really good. Don't you? Okay. You're a monster, Mike. You're a monster. It's all a lie. She's lying. She knows exactly where everybody is. She's playing it up. Luke's future girlfriend. Right, honey. Mom's going to come back. Mom probably went looking for you. Turns out it was just the opposite. And she tried to drive the car to go find mom. Officer Ryan Grimshaw responded to the house to find the mother's SUV rolled backward out of the driveway, across the street, and into a neighbor's yard. You could tell she just followed exactly probably what her mom does when she gets in the car. I mean, she put the keys in the ignition, pulled it into drive, turned the headlights on like she was ready to drive somewhere, like she was a grown-up. Hey, by the way.
No joke, by the way, you know that Rebecca can't leave the keys in the car because Luke did the same thing. Oh, my gosh. All kids do. He crawled from his back chair. Oh, my gosh. She had unlocked all of them, and he crawled in there and put his hands on the thing, and it was in park. And so he turned it over. Wow. That's scary. Yeah. The girl wasn't prepared to confess to the operator. Did mom park her car across the street or did you get in the car and move it across the street? Somebody moved it across the street. The car's staying on running. Oh, somebody bit. Somebody. That's what I said to my dad, by the way. Hey, dad, somebody put a twig in the lock and it broke off. Somebody did. My dad said somebody did? Or did you? No, I didn't. The car is... I gotta get here quick. I gotta get there quick. I know my mom's gonna be pissed at me. Oh, she's... So cute. Why did she pick up that language? Her parents. She learned it from watching you. Probably learned it from watching TV. Probably learned it at school.
Oh, I doubt it. Oh, yeah, because kids don't talk that way at school. How long has she been in school for? She's five. Three weeks. She's five. Three weeks. She's in kindergarten. Yeah, three weeks. She knows how to roll a joint now, I heard. Yeah. Five-year-olds are in kindergarten. Where do they learn the word? Parents. Either parents or other kids that have heard it. Yeah, from their parents. Yeah, well, yeah. Hey, man. Are they older brothers or sisters? What's older? But you know what happens a lot of times? These kids will come home and they'll say something and you go, where did you learn that? At school. Don't blame the five-year-old. She's a little angry. She's a lying little five-year-old. Her parents left her at home. They have foul language. She was just going to look for her mom. Yeah, she's scared. Yeah, there's no doubt about it. Little kid sounds cute, but little kids sound cute. That's their bit. What kind of a mother doesn't pick her kid up from the bus stop? Right. Monster. Where's she at? Probably in a bar somewhere? That's safe. You got a point. You got a point. You got a point. With dispatchers, Grimshaw was able to reach the parents and sort out the confusion. The best possible outcome for a situation that could have ended very differently. I mean, she did the right thing by calling 911, but if she would have got home and been able to call an aunt or a grandmother or anybody.
It could all have been avoided pretty quickly. What is she? Who is this? This is the police department. Isn't it? She did a what? Madison? Ma'am, have you been drinking? No, I'm on cough medicine. What is it? You're on cough medicine? Yeah, I have a cold. You have a what? I have a cold. Did you just say you have a cold? A cold, yeah. Anyway, what does that little snot face do? Where is she? Well, that little snot face is safe here at the police station, ma'am. She's supposed to be making me dinner. Excuse me? She's supposed to be making me dinner. Do I stutter? No, you don't stutter. You stutter. I don't. No, you didn't. But, ma'am, I must tell you that you sound like you've been drinking more than cough medicine.
and maybe some old Jack's secret recipe. Old Jack's secret? Old Jack's secret recipe. Old Jack's secret recipe. Yeah. While your daughter is here, she's not going to be cooking you dinner tonight. Can you guys watch her for a little bit? No. I'm up in pool. We're not a daycare, okay? I'm up in pool, yeah. Hold on. She's playing trivia at a bar. Yeah. You know, electronic trivia. Electronic trivia, yeah. Oh, boy. Typical woman driver, though. Wrecked the car. Oh, wow. Alibi is giving me a look. She wouldn't even look at me. Oh, there it is. There's the look. Ouch. There's the look. Oh, boy. Couldn't be a break without Jay. Making a chauvinistic fight. Yeah, she's trying to fight. Wouldn't be the mic. I forgot. I forgot. So you guys are going to tell me. We came up with this bit, but I forgot what the. What the gist is. People think I'm blank, but I'm really blank. Okay, now I think I remember. It was this. It was like, people think I'm mean, but I'm actually very sensitive. Yeah, well, that's the deal. People do think that because I have tattoos and I don't smile. Because I feel weird, like, smiling. I don't know why. I'm not a smiler. L.O.B., do you get that? I think people think I'm stupid because I'm blonde, but actually I'm not.
Yep, that could be one. People think I'm dumb, but I'm really not. People think I'm a hard ass, and I'm not. Listen, I got tattoos, so they would think that. But actually, I'm really sensitive. I'm very sweet, but I cover it with hard exterior. Woodsy, do you have any of this? People think you're something, but you're really something? If you barely know me or you think you know me, people always think that I'm in... A good mood. Gregarious is probably the right word. And you're not always. That's such a bad one. No, but I'm kind of like, well, I get down like everybody. Hey, and that is true. Like, even we do. We think that he's always going to be gregarious, fun, and in a good mood. Maybe your deal is, yeah, people think I'm snobby. Oh, yeah, that's one. People do think that. Jay and I have talked about that, that that used to be the bit at KIOZ. Yeah, absolutely. People thought I was snobby. Yeah, people hated you, ma'am. People thought I was snobby, but the truth was I was just afraid of people.
Super quiet. We talked about it at lunch. We'd be in the break room and then be like, oh, there's old snob face. We used to do meetings about it. Do you hate that guy as much as I do? No, I hate him. I hate him. Look at him. Look at him, snobbish. We called you Snobby Robbie. I know it's not your name. That's what we called you. Well, the deal was is that sometimes I would come up to people and they would say odd or strange things to me. You know, people. think that if we make a joke on the radio then that joke is good in the hallway so they walk up and be like you really are fat yeah that's tough and it's tough you know so i was afraid of people and so i would walk you know i would walk around and i'd be afraid and uh i would keep my head down yep and people thought oh he just doesn't want to talk to people exactly that wasn't true yeah i mean i've got i've gotten a lot more call us by the way if you have this i've gotten a lot more shy Which is weird. I'm not a really shy person, but I've gotten more shy and kind of eyes down, averting stuff than I ever was before. Because you don't want people to... Well, the last time I was a little bit over Gregarious, I had an article written about me in the Reader. You're confusing Gregarious with drunk. Yes, those are two different... I can see, though. Yeah, I can see where there would be a... Yeah, you know, I just try to...
Keep my head down, my mouth shut now. There he is. Elbows to myself. Coming out of the lamplighter. Just like a lamplighter. Uh-oh. But I can see what you mean. They think that you're gregarious. No, you're in a bad mood. I'm not in a bad mood. I'm just hungry. I'm not screaming at us right now. You're yelling at the top of your lungs, actually. I'm not. It's not a bad mood. It's just kind of sedentary. Mikey Show, who's this? My name is Joshua. What do they think, Joshua? People think you're what, but it turns out you're actually something else. People think that I'm condescending. One of my workmates actually came to me recently and said, you know what, I realize you're a really nice guy, but do you know when you say this, people think that you're just this condescending jerk. Now that we've been working with you for a year, we realize you're actually a really nice guy.
I kept wondering why people would kind of look at me and be kind of cautious around me. Right. Well, can I do it all? Yeah. They were probably walking on eggshells because they thought that you were going to say something condescending. This is James Spader from Pretty in Pink. A lot of people have said that about me. They have? That I'm very condescending. Well, I called them a toilet. Right. And people tend to think that. I said your pants look like a freaking garbage bag. Right. Okay? There's a girl from sales that won't even talk to me anymore just because I told her she looked like an Alabama hooker. A cheap Alabama hooker. Oh, wow. It's so strange. I mean, and now it's to the point where you can't walk up to a co-worker and jokingly say, you look like an Alabama hooker. I'd rather sleep with a trash can than you. Yes. Apparently, people take offense to it. I walked up to... To our program director the other day. And this is James Spader 2. There's James Spader 1. I'm James Spader 2. Walked up to our program director the other day. And I said, hey, would it be okay if I punched you in the mouth? And suddenly I'm meeting with HR. You know. I mean, what gives? What gives? 570-1949. I know I thought stuff about LOB that was different when I first met her.
I thought she was the most demure, just absolutely innocent. Buttoned up. Buttoned up, shy, innocent. You know, I knew she was funny and I knew she did great voices. But she gave off this very sort of shy, you know, not dirty, you know. And then we went to our first Christmas party. And I realized that that. What was lying beneath the surface was a little dirtier. A little different breed. There's times where she could, if she wanted to, she could change. And at the drop of a hat, she could give you something different. Weird. But it was only certain times, right? Right. If you'd had a couple. What are you afraid of? I'm not going to do anything. What's the matter with you?
Why do you think I'm going to do something? Because you're talking like me and looking for drops of me. Yes. Okay, but other than that, what is making you think it? Mikey, show who's this. Hi. Hi. Hello. I just had something for the people think I'm this, but I'm really this. Go ahead. People think I'm younger than I am. I'm 36, and people think sometimes I'm 25. Most of the time, that's good. But sometimes it's really bad when, like, you're trying to get a good seat at a restaurant. They sit you by the kitchen. Because they think you're young? They think I'm young, yeah. So they're like, oh, they're not going to be a good tipper. Let's put her over her. Because me and my husband both look really young. And so we always get the crappiest table at a nice restaurant. Yeah, because they think, I could see it. I could, too. Wow, they do that? L.O.B., what about you? Because you're a...
server, would you ever do that? No. You would not think that? No. Just because they looked young, you wouldn't think that they're going to be bad tippers. I love me also looks very young. She doesn't look 30. But you're not a host either. You're not a hostess. No, but I've been a hostess many times. You ever been treated differently because you look younger than you are? Yeah, but not anything I complain about. Yeah. Free pie and stuff. I used to always get it. I had employees that were older than me. Yeah. And they would, when somebody was coming to see who was in charge, they would walk up to them and start talking to them. After a while, the guy would go, That's the guy right there. Absolutely. Jay looks like a teenager. He does, man. That's mine. A lot of people think. Well, he doesn't look like a teenager, but when I found out how old Jay was, I remember telling you guys, and I go, guess how old Jay is. 38. First he said, guess how many kids he has. And I'm like, two? That I know of. Oh. Sorry, Kim. Sorry, Kim. Listen. These are the comedy jokes. Listen, I do a show for a living. Oh, my God. I mean, every once in a while, I'm having a good time, you know? I like to bring up old taglines from the 90s. You're right. But don't believe everything you use. Ladies and gentlemen.
This is a momentous occasion. This is something that is very momentous, and I want to mark this occasion, okay? Because you're all going to remember what you just heard forever. I'm going to tell you what it is. Just a minute. I just want you to soak it up first, though. B got an email. The M1 said, Mikey, you have a sound effect that you play that you call the uncomfortable alarm. And I just want you to know that it's... screeches, and I don't like it. And I said, you know what? I actually agree with that. I knew exactly what alarm he was talking about. And it was. It screeched. It was very, very loud. And I told Jay, Jay, can you do me a favor? Scratch that. Get it out. Don't want it anymore. It's screechy. Replace it with something that isn't as tough on the ears. And so... Woo! Woo!
This is what he gave me. Woods is looking at me right now like, so I get yelled at for stuff, and I'm on the hook, man. If I mess up, Mike, you will let me have it. L.O.B. looked at me with complete confusion. Like, it was almost like she was lost. Like, she didn't know where she was. Because I do all the isolating. Yeah. When someone yells, isolate. Oh, no, he made that. I know. And so I was like, where did that come from? Wait. Oh, my God. I thought he was doing it. No. I never looked back. No, it's a recording of him. Woods is, Woods is, Woods, right now, Woods is. You thought that was live? No.
It's a recording. I never turned around to look at him because I couldn't believe what I was hearing. He went into the studio and did that. Well, I looked around. And he came in, by the way, just to pull the curtain back. He looked. Didn't find anything to his liking. But you know, Jay, he can build anything. Right. If he can't buy it, he'll make it. And so he came in and he said, by the way, I just want to show you a couple things. I put up. A couple sound effects for you. You can start using. I got a small group clapping. I said, okay, cool. I said, what else? What else you got? He goes, I have a big applause. I like that. So that's good. What else you got? He goes, I got a group of people, like a small laugh track here. Kind of funny. I like that. Oh, and you wanted me to replace that uncomfortable alarm. I said, yeah, yeah. What do you got?
I heard that much of it and I went, it's perfect. There you go. Because I knew that at some point it would debut. What is the matter with you? That's incredible. Yeah. Have you ever? Never. No one has. I know, I know, I know. Yeah. It's uncomfortable, isn't it? It's so uncomfortable. Identical alarm. It came off a little gay. A little. No, it wasn't. It wasn't gay. It was just really weird. It's so weird. It's like that smoking commercial from Herman Cain. Yeah. It's so weird. I picture him like putting on lipstick. Oh, yeah. And just full on, you know, close up of his lips. Yeah. Blotting. He's blotting. 94.9.

This is Bird, Bird Surfshed, with the FM 94.9 Authentic Surf Report for a Thursday morning, brought to you by Guayaquil Urba Mate. Today, Andrew, clearing sunny skies already this morning. It's looking like we've got a decrease in swell. Southwest pretty direction on the fade, along with some weaker northwest still kind of hanging in there. Both those directions are going to be hurt, though, by a high tide that we're heading into. It's going to really back down the already smaller surf quite a bit. Looking at need of waist-high surf on average, maybe a few pluses on top of that. Standout areas most open to the dominant southwest swell direction. Can see some chest-shoulder high waves, at least early on before that tapers off throughout the day.
Again, the big problem, though, is six-foot-plus high tide we're heading into, really going to back down quite a few areas. Then it drains out to a negative low, so definitely tide-sensitive throughout the different areas today. Beach break's kind of high and fat right now, but more rideable. Reef breaks at the lower tide will be your better bet. Again, clear skies at the moment, calm winds, pretty clean out there, just pretty small and soft. With Mikey. Mikey. I'm not good at pretending to be Guy-ish. Woods. But I'm super gullible. Lauren. I have a crazy suggestion. Maybe you like somebody for their insight. Jay. I'm going to open my beer right as we start. I hope I like the warm up. On FM 9. All right, Jay had a new idea. It's called the Lip Read Challenge. If you want to participate, call us right now. 570-1949. You're going to pick me, Woods, or Ella B. Today's prize is a Hulk Hogan's main event for the Xbox Kinect, the first wrestling game for Xbox Kinect available at Best Buy and GameStop. Let me explain something. You get to be in on this as the audience. We don't. So we're going to go one at a time. Jay is in another room.
You can hear Jay on the radio, but when I take my headphones off or any of us take our headphones off, we can't hear them. So the fun part for you is you're in on the joke. We're not. And so what will happen is I'll go first, I'll take off my headphones, and I will turn the volume completely down. Woods and L.O.B. are going to listen in real quietly. I won't be able to hear it. And you, the audience, will get to hear it. And I have to read his lips. If I can correctly read his lips, you win. Let's see. M1 Chris from Mira Mesa. Who do you want? Please. Hang on. There you go. M1 Paul from Temecula. Who do you want? Hello? Yes. Who would you like? Mikey. Okay, hang on. Peace, everyone. And M1 Melissa from Vista. You get Woods. Hang on, okay? Okay. All right.
All right, so I'm going to take my headphones off. Okay. And I am going to turn down the volume completely, and I need you to just practice so that I can see. Can you see what's going on? It's coming out of somewhere. It's coming out of these. Coming out of those other headphones. These. Oh, no, no, you go right there. Right over here by Wood's knee. Here we go. Oh, there you go. Unplug those, because I was still hearing them. Okay, how's this now? I was still hearing them from those other headphones. Okay, talk and say a bunch of stuff. Can you hear me now? Can you hear me now? I cannot hear a thing. I can't hear a thing. So here we go. Okay, you have to tell me when we're starting. Here we go. Okay, well, I'm looking. Can I? Wait, wait, wait. Can you turn the lights off? Yeah. Because there's glare. Okay, here we go. There's still glare. There's glare. I'm going to turn my lights off, too. Hey, I'll turn mine off, and you leave yourself. Yeah, can you turn one of those lights off? Because there's massive glare. I got Chris. Get out of the way. He's screaming at Chris right now. All right. How's this? Can you see me now?
Can you see them now? I can see them. Here, I'll get close. Chris, turn them back on. Turn my light back on, Chris. And can you turn those off, Woodsy? Yeah. Off? Yeah. Is this how you like it? All right. There we go. This is the best. Okay. Okay. Here we go. Are we ready? Here we go. Can I get a king-size meal? One more time. Can I get a king-size meal? I think he said something creepy. I think he said, can I get on top of you? No. No. Oh, gosh. Hold on. Hold on. You got the can I get. You got that part. Yeah, but that's it. You got the first few words. I think here's what we can do. We can ask him to repeat it as many times as we want. Okay. But once we give our answer, that's it. Okay.
Jay, what did you say? I said, can I get a king-size mill? Oh, how dare you? You monstrous monster. He said mill. Mill. Three times. M1... Don't hear it. It's awesome. Hang on. M1 Melissa? Yes. I'm sorry. That was me. She had me. M1 Paul? Yeah. I'm sorry, but I screwed up and you didn't win. All right. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Sorry. All right. Woods, you're next. Here we go. All right. Woods, you got to take off your headphones. Oh, yeah. Wow. Shove it. Turn them all the way down. Okay. You ready? Oh, wait, wait, wait. Now, practice talking. Can you hear me? Can you hear me now? Hey, everybody. Can you hear anything? Woods. No, not a thing. Okay. Here we go. All right. Dogs don't need to be walked. Again. Dogs don't need to be walked.
Woods cannot hear him. He's got his headphones off. He's trying to read Che's lips. One more time. Dogs don't need to be walked. Dogs don't need to be walked. Yeah! Nice job, Woodsy. Nice job. At first it says, Josh doesn't need a wash. Melissa, Woodsy won for you. Hang on the line. Alright, last but not least, Cello B. Switch with me a little bit. Can you see me? Here we go. L-O-B. Just change stuff up. Here we go. Oh, is he going? Are you ready? Yes, he is. Has it started? Yes, he's going. I like big butts, and I cannot lie. What? I like big butts, and I cannot lie. You want it again? Okay, wait. One more time. I like big butts, and I cannot lie. She's trying to read his lips. I think it's something really dirty, like a word I can't say. Well, it obviously isn't a word. All right, slow it down one more time.
I like big butts and I cannot lie. Ah, I got it. What is it? I like big butts and I cannot lie. That is it. That is it. You see how that applied to her, right? I thought he was saying the P word. No. I know he wouldn't, but that's what it looked like. M1 Chris from Mira Mesa. Congratulations. Nice. Just what I always wanted. There you go. Hang on the line. Oh, my. All right. Here's the new rules for Read My Lips. Three times. Three times. Yeah, three times. Three times is all we get. We get three times, then we have to take a guess no matter what. I like it. I do too. I like it. I love the fact that the audience gets to be in on it and we don't. And I hate the fact that I'm the only person that couldn't read his lips. If he hadn't slowed it down for me, I wouldn't have been able to do it. Hey, we told... the story the other day about Steven Tyler and how he fell in the shower and hurt himself. Have you seen the pictures of Steven Tyler? I haven't. You guys? Mm-mm. Holy cow. Is he jacked up pretty good? I don't think it's possible, Woods, for that. Oh! Oh, gosh, dude. Oh, my gosh. I thought it was a Halloween costume when I first saw it. Oh!
Oh, my God. I thought he was doing Woods. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Hang on. Hang on, Woodsy. Go ahead. Okay, you ready? And let me take it because... Yeah, yeah, yeah. That is... Dude, that is hideous. Oh, poor guy. Does that look like I fell in the shower? No, dude. That looks like I got jumped by a gang of Colombians. Yes. Oh, goodness. Mike's taking a picture of Steven Tyler. If you didn't hear, he... allegedly fell in the shower in paraguay and our boy mike is taking it is oh my god it's unbelievable that's one of my biggest fears something like that happened to me losing a tooth oh man it don't look like a shower fall oh it does not look like somebody that fell in the shower oh my gosh um Holy cow. And by the way, talk about dumb communication. When people, when you start to lie, that's where it goes. Always tell the truth. It's the easiest thing to remember. The stupid people from the venue said that it was gastrointestinal problems. It wasn't gastrointestinal problems.
And when you see this picture, you're going to go, yeah, that's not gastrointestinal problems. Wow. It's crazy. Yeah. Let's see. If you want to see this photo, it's going to shock you. I'm telling you right now that what you're going to see is going to shock you. If you would like to see the photo, go to facebook.com slash Mikey show. Unless I don't know, and that is a costume. I don't think it is, though. I don't think it is. I think it's the real deal. He claims that he fell in the shower and that this is what happened. Again, facebook.com slash Mikey Show. M-I-K-E-Y S-H-O-W. Wow. When I would get drunk, I wasn't a big... you know, fall and hurt myself kind of thing. A lot of people, you know, everybody's different. You know, my bit was passing out, that kind of thing. The blackout bit. Blackout bit. But, I mean, it is, oh boy, it just showed up on our Facebook page. It is something, isn't it? Yeah. It is something else. Oh man, it looks painful. Facebook.com slash Mikey Show.
Uh, let's see. How are we doing on time? Um, let's see. I am going to, I am going to read you a text that we got and see where you are on this. I'm especially interested to hear L.O.B. because she's a woman. But this text says, my boyfriend, uh, my boyfriend sold his truck and bought a Mini Cooper. What do you guys think about that? That's M1 Melissa. L-O-B? Where are you with that? If he were dating me, I'd be busting his balls. You would? Yeah. What's wrong with a Mini Cooper? It's a Mini Cooper. They're cool. It says Mini in it. Anything that says Mini, yeah. Right. What if he's a normal-sized guy and he just likes the Mini Cooper? What do you need a Mini Cooper for? They're kind of cool looking. They're for petite women. They are not. And little people.
For petite women and little people. I would have one, but not as a primary car. Just to get the convertible, just to have. I think it looks like kind of a cool car to kind of zip around the hood in. For a woman. Isn't it the antithesis of cool? In fact, isn't it the antithesis? Listen, there's only one car that I would categorically say is a woman's car. And that's the VW Bug. Or the Jetta. Or the Cabriolet. The Jetta. All right. Two. They're both made by Volkswagen. There are two cars that I believe are categorically women cars. But outside of that, I don't buy the that's a chick car. Come on. What about the Mustang convertible? That's a muscle car. It's a dude car. Mini Cooper is not really. I've never seen a woman driving a Mini Cooper. I've only seen. Is that right? Yeah. I've only seen dudes. I would never sell my truck, though. Oh, my gosh. What do you do without a truck? I know. That's a different lifestyle change, almost. Yeah. You know, a lot of people have trucks. They don't use them as trucks. I had a truck. I didn't move stuff. It's a gas guzzler if you're just using it as your primary. Mini Cooper gets great gas mileage. Yeah, so does an Accord, though. You know what I mean? Isn't that a chick car? No. Nah. That's not. No.
It's a normal-sized car. Yeah. A turbo Mini Cooper. I bet it'd be fun to drive. Oh, dude. Oh, wow. Yeah, you know what would be fun to drive? Up in Vermont where you don't see anybody and you're driving up looking at the Leafs. That's a blast. Hey, I'd rent one up there. That's right. If nobody saw me. Dude, they got a new turbo Mini Cooper. Yep. I think they're kind of cool. You should get one. Women like to drive fast, too, so they add that feature. I would have no problem driving one. Me either. I would love it. I would, too. Both of you are lying through your teeth. I actually ate that one time. Well, they're over 40 weds, so maybe that's what it is. Yeah, it's a give up. Yeah. M1AJ from Chula Vista. What's up, guys? What's up? I think it's a pretty bad idea. Vinny Coopers are pretty cool cars, man. I think so, man. It's a BMW. They're made by BMW. Well, it doesn't have a BMW label on it. It doesn't have anything to do with it. Yeah, I mean, just because they're made by BMW doesn't mean that... Yeah, because they're a completely different car. Lexus is made by Toyota. That doesn't make it a Toyota. A lot of, like, BMWs, the little sporty ones, look like girl cars, too. Yeah, that's true. And, you know, Ralph Lauren made Chaps, and it wasn't the same as Polo, all right? So that doesn't hold any weight with me. What was wrong? Was Chaps a... Remember how ghetto Chaps was? Yes. Yeah, you could buy Chaps at Walgreens. No. Yeah, you could. The cologne, you could. I don't want to...
Rabbit trail here too much, but some of the sexiest perfumes are cheap perfumes. Yeah, cheaper, for sure. They're like Walgreens. Listen, there's one that's like a Britney Spears. It smells good. I think she sells it at Walmart. It's the Britney Spears perfume. It's called the Trailer Park. It might as well be, but I'm telling you, sexy as all get-up. Reminds you of a strip club. That's what it is. Fair enough. Fair enough. No. 570-1949. M1 Crystal from Vista. Yeah, I'd like to add a car to the women's category. Mazda Miata. Yeah. Why? Because it's... She almost cussed. I can't even say it on the air. I've seen it. I see it every day. A man in a Mazda Miata is just flaming. See, here's the deal. Thank you, Crystal. Here's the thing. You silly sausage. I do think that it applies the other way around. What? I think that there are cars that women would look weird in. There's a few, but there's way more. I mean, I'd rather look like a tough girl than a sissy guy. Yes. I love a woman driving a pickup. Oh, I love it. It's so sexy. Yeah.
And I mean, he's totally gay and he's very positive. I saw this guy in a neon blue Mazda Miata driving down the 78. I don't know what he was doing, but he was on his little Bluetooth with sunglasses, hair blowing, and he was waving his hand. I don't know if he was trying to tell people what he was doing. I'm gay. I don't know. But I was like, you look like such a girl right now. When my wife... drives my car, I think it's strange. I don't think that women look good in sportier cars. I think that they look out of place in a... Yeah, what are they doing out of the kitchen? Oh, gosh. That's not what I meant. I didn't mean it. No, I didn't mean it that way. I mean performance vehicles. Why'd they let her out of the hospital from having kids? Oh, gosh. Oh, no. That's what Jay meant. How'd she have shoes on in the first place? No. I didn't mean it that way. You didn't mean it that way. That's all Jamin. I think a woman driving a performance car is pretty sexy. Really? Yeah, I think it's pretty sexy. I saw a girl in a Maserati once. Oh, yeah. Almost passed out. She was a dime driving it. It's like Christy Brinkley in the... Oh, the Ferrari. Yes. Amazing. I don't like it. You know why? I don't think it's feminine. It doesn't look feminine. I like girls to drive feminine cars. It's not girly. It's like...
Sexy. Yeah. Sexy. Take charge. Sexy. I think it's sexy, the girlish cars. Such as the Jetta? Yeah. Oh, yeah. Girls and Jettas are hot. Come on. Yeah. You don't think so? Very hot. He wouldn't catch me in one. Oh, boy. Because it's too girly? It's too girly. Yeah. You get it. Anderson Cooper? What about Anderson Cooper and a Mini Cooper? 100%. See it. He was defending... The 16-year-old girl married to the Green Mile guy. He was defending him. We'll play that for you next. Chance! Let's do it! More from the Mikey Show coming up. Be a part of the show. I don't think it's that simple. 570-1949. Or shoot him a text at 949mikey at gmail.com. I'm beginning to like the sound of that. What does it take to be the most premium brand of cold cuts? totally for the Confederate flag, has now said that he doesn't think that it should be a part of Texas anymore. Do you know that Texas is the only state out of all the states in the U.S. that can fly their flag, their state flag, equally with the United States flag? Everybody else, every other state in the Union has got to fly their state flag below the U.S. flag, except for Texas. Did you guys have to say the Pledge of Allegiance to the Texas flag? No. I'm actually surprised at that because when I lived in Dallas, there is no state that's more proud of being Texas. I was watching a documentary on death row and they were showing the kids saying Pledge of Allegiance to the Texas flag. Wow. No, we never had to do that. I don't even really claim it anymore. Didn't you have to...
Take history about Texas when you were in school like it was mandatory? Absolutely. It was mandatory. Yeah, we know a lot. We had to. Not here. I did not have to learn. You have to do California history? It was so funny because when I was in second grade, the reason I wanted to move to California, and I always have, since I was in second grade, I saw a movie called California Dreamin', and then we all had to do state reports, and I got California, and I was so excited to learn about the... California Condor and the Golden Bear and all that stuff. And you probably thought that this was the coolest place in the world. There's no question. And I saw this movie, this mechanic, and it was a TV movie. And he moves from Detroit out here. And there's women, beautiful blonde. I'm in second grade. Hey, man, I think California lives up to it. There's no question it does. I think they live up to it. At the end, he wakes up. It was all a dream. Oh! Blayed me. That's no good. Our nanny's from Budapest, Hungary. She said the thought of California in Hungary is that this place, every single person that lives here is a movie star. Every person, like if you move to California, everyone you meet, they're a movie star. That's what I thought when I was a kid. Really? Because I grew up in New Jersey, my uncle moved to California.
Now he's famous. And when he would come back, I'd be like, well, he's famous. Yeah, he's famous. He's a celebrity. So crazy. Just hanging out with Brad Pitt. Yeah. Woodsy, what's going on in sports? Well, some bad news for the Chargers. Larry English is hurt, and he has re-injured his foot, and he is going to be out for the rest of the year. They're going to put him on IR. He's in his third season. He's missed nine of the Chargers' last 20 games. He's good, too. Yeah, he's a good player. He's going to be tough to replace. Excuse me. Also, tonight, game six of the World Series will go down in St. Louis. Hopefully, the weather is clearing up there. It was canceled last night, but tonight's game is 5-0-5. It's Colby Lewis against Jaime Garcia. My game? All right. The person we were talking about was Courtney Stodden. Teenager. She's married to a 52-year-old guy. Same guy that was in the Green Mile. Percy. He played Percy. We all know the story. It's the creepiest story, how they got together. Obviously, the parents had to sign off on it, the whole thing. First of all, this is the two of them talking about it. They got kicked out. The women were... Kicked out of a pumpkin patch for inappropriate behavior and attire. Coming up to the manager and complaining. Because of the kids.
Because of the kids. A small handful. There were also a lot of people there who were enjoying, they wanted to take pictures with us. That's a dad. And we even overheard a dad say, oh, look, to his little girl. He said, oh, look, honey, they have a pumpkin patch girl this year. The dad loves it. That's a dad and daughter, too, honey. Yeah. All grown up. See that little girl with that man, her father? Or grandfather. I don't know. I can't tell. I can't tell. In the picture, she has her legs around him. He is grabbing her bare butt cheeks because the shorts cut. And he is squeezing her and they're kissing. And there's jugs everywhere. He's something else, isn't he? How old is the girl? 16, 17? I don't even know. She's underage. She's young. He had to get parental consent to marry her. Sign-off bit. Yeah. I saw two pictures. One of her... when she was 14, and then one now, and she had a ton of work. She got boobs, she got lips, she got an entire face. No, I didn't. You didn't? No, I just, I hit puberty. Wait a minute. That's amazing. You're smiling right now, though, and it's not natural. I have a really big smile. I'm happy. Yeah, but you were just fighting with...
Jay, and you're smiling. Even when I'm hiding, I'm smiling. But you can't actually close your lips. You can't close your lips. Why? Why would I? I'm smiling. But it looks like your face is pulled back tight. No, I'm so happy. You look like the Joker. I'm so happy with my husband. Your husband's going to be 60 in eight years, so you'll have to look forward to it. And I love him. I know you will. And his money. Here's Anderson Cooper talking about it. Courtney and Doug went out for some innocent, fun fall. onto the pumpkin patch yesterday, as newlyweds are wont to do. And once you know it, there just happened to be a professional photographer there. Getting thrown out of a pumpkin patch is just the latest injustice for these two kooky kids. These are just two people in love, and they get thrown out of a pumpkin patch like trash, like rotten pumpkins. Courtney likes to dress up, so what? Anyone who's familiar with her milieu knows that she turns heads. To put it another way, when she's a-walkin', all jaws be droppin'. Anderson. Really? He's a sap of the monologues. Yeah. You're not Letterman. I noticed the deafening laughter when he was delivering those jokes. Hey, by the way, speaking of, if you're so inclined, we do something here. We don't do it often, but when we do, people get happy. Jay's the old man who does acting. He's the old man with the poetry.
He's so good he's on the money. An actor with ability. That's right. He blinded me acting. But he failed to pronounce clearly. It's what they call in the business a dry read. Is that what it's called, Woods? Cold read. Cold read. Yes, sir. Cold dry, whatever. Dry run. Dry run, cold read. Well, bottom line is that Jay flubs words and he's not seen this script. Doesn't he? He has not seen this script. In fact, when he sees it in just a few moments, it's going to be the first time he's seen it. Now, Jay, I have to remind you that you have to take this role and whatever it is, you've got to become it. Yeah, much like we did a prank on Chris last week and Jay was great. He was like Bob De Niro. He was so believable and he was so good. That's true.
You were playing yourself, but you did it just so believably. So we want you to do the same thing here with this cold read for Romeo and Juliet. Oh, look at him. Romeo and Juliet. You are Romeo, obviously. Don't steal my line. L-O-V will be Juliet. Anytime. She speaks. Oh, speak again, bright angel. For art thou as glorious through the night. Cut, cut. For thou art. There you go. Cut. Cut. It's not the night. It's this night. This night. As glorious to this night being, oh, my head. As is the winged messenger of heaven. Unto the white, upturned, wandering eyes of mortals that fall back to gaze on him. When he bestrides the lazy, pacing clouds. Try that again. And when he bestrides the lazy, pacing clouds. and sails upon the bosom of the air. O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name, or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn, my love, and I'll no longer be a Capulet. Shall I hear more, or shall I speak at this? Tis but thy name that is my enemy. Thou art thyself, though not a Montague. What's Montague?
It is nor hand, nor foot, nor arm, nor face, nor any other part belonging to a man. Oh, be some other name. What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name. With smell of sweet. So Romeo would, were he not Romeo called, retain that dear perfection which he owes without that title. Romeo, doff thy name. And for that name, which is no part of thee, take all myself. I take thee at thy word. Call me but love. No, cut. Call me but love. I will be there. No, no, no. I will be new baptized. No, what? Wait, cut. Try that line. Let's take it from the top. Okay. Take it from the top. I'll... Uh-oh. All right, cut. I take thee at thy word. Call me but love. And I be new baptized. Oh, wow. His force. Oh. Hinsforth. Hinsforth. I never will be Romeo. I like it. It's three lines. If you could just take it from the top. I take thee at thy word. There you go. Call me but love and I'll be new baptized. Hinsforth. Well done. What man art thou that thus be screened in night so stumbleest on my counsel? By a name?
I know not how to tell thee who I am. My name, dear saint, is hateful to myself. No, not by name. My name, dear saint, is hateful to myself because it is an enemy to thee. Had I written it? No, no. Had I it written? No, boy. Let's cut and go back to that line. Had I it written, I would tear the wood. My ears have not yet drunk a hundred words of that tongue's utterance. Yet I know the sound. Art thou not Romeo and a Montague? Neither, fair saint, if either thee dislike. Well done. That was hard. Well done. Well done, my friend. That was really hard. That's the first time I've ever read that. I fumbled a lot. He does the ceremonial. tearing of the script. Every time. He wants it as far away from him as he can get it. Oh my gosh, I love it. I love it so much. Jay said in his recap that he went climbing about a month ago and he blacked out both his big toenails. I don't think it's gross. He said he was cramming his toes in the rock and he knew it hurt but he had no idea that he was blacking them.
The shoes are super tight. I mean, I have shoes that are really tight, and these weren't even my tight ones. He said yesterday he was wearing flip-flops, and his wife Kim looked at him and said, you should wear shoes until those fall out. Fall out. And he said, so much for sickness and health. How did you not know that you were hurting yourself to the extent that it was turning black? I just, I mean, you don't really have many choices. Yeah. But still, I thought, you know, they always hurt, but man, this is over the top. Is there anything worse than hitting your thumb with a hammer and it turning black? I can think of one. What? I was working on something for the pool, and I had a wrench, and I was banging it on the concrete, and the wrench slipped off. Bam! I hit it as hard as I could. What do you mean? It was a whole big, it was like part of the... the head of the pump. Uh-huh. And I hit it on the ground. I was trying to just hit the wrench, just kind of trying to break a nail free. Slipped off. I hit it so hard that the nail just shattered. Oh, dude! It's still numb. The tip of that finger is still numb. I just got weak. It was the most heinous. And I went over and I immediately, I put it in the pool and it just, blood was just pouring. Stop it! You know you're alive when that happens. Oh, I want it to be dead. You're very awake. Want it to be dead. When that happens. I got a quiz.
When I was five years old, I was taken to my aunt's house by my brother, Sam. He drove, and I was in the back seat. We were driving my mom's station wagon. I know, that got worse. Shattered. Well, get ready for this one. My brother took me to my aunt's. I hop out of the back seat. Nope. Nope. Shut up, dude. And when I slammed the door, Sam had been reaching back to try to lock the door. And I slammed his fingers in the door. Yeah. Oh, Mike. And he screamed and I thought, oh, I did something wrong and he's going to be upset at me. So I ran. I was scared and I ran.
Holy cow. Now, you're probably wondering, how did he get it? You know, how did... I don't know. I don't know the answer. You ran. Yeah. You thought you were going to be killed. I don't know the answer. Oh, my gosh. It makes me sweat. So you say, well, how did he get his hand out of there? I don't know. Oh, my God. I don't know. I ran into my Aunt Helen's house. Oh, gosh. How bad did Louie finally start? Well, this is what I remember. I remember I went into the... Because it was, you know, much later in the day. And my mom said, you need to go apologize to Sam. And I remember walking into the room and he was sitting on the floor, Indian style. And his hand was all bandaged and casted and the whole thing. And he didn't get mad at me. Oh, that's how bad it was. Yeah. He didn't get mad at me. It was, I mean, it was so heinous. It was so awful that he wasn't mad. And I came in and I said,
You know, I was five. Yeah. I was like, I'm sorry, Sam. And he goes, it's all right. It's all right. Yeah. I mean, what are you going to do? Have you ever done the bit where you've done your toenail and then you take a hot needle. You have to get it. You heat the needle up. And then you pierce the nail right in the center because it's got to relieve the pressure underneath. I didn't know that you are supposed to heat the nail. Yeah. Sterilize it. Well, I. Woods, by the way, is just. He's done. It builds through the nail. Oh, good thing Woods didn't hear that. But Woods, for the record, is leaning back in his chair and he's put his Yankees cap over his face. It feels so much better when you relieve that pressure underneath there because it's just building and building and building. And just the sense of relief. Have you ever either done this or had it done to you, closed someone's hand in the car window? I always think it's going to amputate it. Car window? Like if you roll your window up and someone was sticking their hand out or something. It doesn't hurt.
Oh, it stops. It hurts. I've done. Doesn't it stop? Awful. Yeah, it stops. But it like Lucky one time had his head out the back window and I rolled the window up on accident and I hear full on pull over. Yeah. Pull over. Wow. And was like, I want to die. I want to die. Yeah. My little baby. It hurt my sister's three nails. I closed. She was like, I guess had her hand on the top of the car. Out the window, and I was just talking and driving and rolled the windows right up, and she was like... Yeah, it doesn't hurt as bad as slamming it, but it hurts. Oh, yeah. Let's see. People are calling in. M1 Harold from San Marcos. Howdy. Hi. So I was on a job site, and this guy and I are hanging these really big exit signs. So it took two people. So I'm up there. I'm holding the exit sign. He's driving it in with the drill. The drill slipped, and the Phillips... tip went right through my thumbnail. That's pretty gnarly, dude. It was a plus mark on my thumbnail. A plus mark. Hot pit. Disgusting. My grumble hurts. So people know, Woods has the hardest time with this stuff than anybody I know. Like Woods, when he hears stuff like this.
He has the hardest time of a week's time. Nice beaver. Say what you want. Yeah. Tear less. Bottom line is, it's tough. It's very tough. Oh, God. Oh, wow. Oh, this is heavy duty. This next one is heavy. Woods. M1 dive bomber from Bay Park. Are you there? Yeah, I'm here. Woods, strap yourself in. Okay. Go ahead. When I was about 12, you know, I used to have to mow the lawn as a chore. Oh, my gosh. Woods is already flinching. Woods is already afraid of what you're going to say. Eyes are closed. I'd have to do it alone when my parents were at work, you know. And so, you know, one day I'm doing it. I'm mowing the lawn. I have my headphones in. And I'm just doing my regular deed. And, you know, going forward, going back, going forward, going back. And my buddy decides to just scare me from behind. And as I'm going back.
It startled me so bad. I lifted it up, and it just came right down on my foot. I was wearing sandals at the time. Never mowing sandals. It just shattered my toe. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. I just peed a little. No. Oh, that hurts. Oh, that hurts. I think I did. That made me lightheaded. That made me lightheaded. Dude. Lawnmower accidents. Is there anything worse? Dude, I was seven. And my favorite thing in the world was my papa had a riding lawnmower. And he used to let me drive it. But what he would do is he would turn it on its side and he'd tie the blade up so the blade wouldn't run. But the lawnmower would. So I'm in the backyard. I'm seven, eight years old. I'm driving, having a blast. And goofing around, you know, doing figure eights. Yeah. I lost control of it somehow, and it fell, and it landed on top of me, and the wheel kept spinning on my leg. It was right here. On your thigh. Took all the skin off my upper thigh. And they look outside. It was the wheel? The wheel was kept... Still engaged. Still engaged. And it was still running. Oh, gosh. And I am screaming bloody murder. Bloody murder. And they're like, he died. He's getting killed.
They thought that the thing. They thought the rope snapped and it was cut me in half. Oh. And the wheels just, but the wheels just turned on my leg and the whole weight of it is on my little seven-year-old body. Oh, my gosh. Did it leave a scar? Oh, yeah. It left a scar. It's actually, I don't think you can see it anymore, but he came out there. He was all of 5'9", 110 pounds. He picked that thing up off me. Oh, yeah. Like, whoop. Probably that adrenaline that gives you the super view. Oh, yeah. They patched me up. I didn't even have to go to the doctor. Dude. Lawnmowers. That's a true statement coming up. Also, we got to get an update on balling. That is L.O.B.'s egg. Coming up. This is the Mikey Show on FM 94.9. This is the FM. Hey there, it's a Lurie with some shows for you to go check out. Were you driving here, Manny Cooper? I was not. I was getting juice out of the fridge. My wife goes, will you shut up? And I was... All day. And she said...
Stop having Dave Matthews. I've seen that song. That was identical Dave Matthews. I wonder if he was throwing litter out the window. Guaranteed. But just didn't write about that. He said he was driving down 85, but he couldn't put that he was throwing litter. Just killed a Whopper. Chot fudge sundae. What's a chot fudge sundae? I don't know. But he would be too good for a Whopper. Chot fudge sundae. Chot fudge sundae. Really? It's the best you can do? They're delicious. Yeah. Chot. Hey, I'll take a... Give me a Big Mac, a chot fudge sundae, and some fries. Medium fries. Chot fudge sundae. What an idiot. Hanging out with this guy. It's contagious. Hey. What? Idiot. Okay, there's a couple of great directions we can go. That's a true statement. I need a ballin' update. We all do. Oh, wow. Gosh. Fatter sex. Fatter sex. Fatter sex. Fatter sex. It's got to be fatter sex. Fat or sex. That's it. Is that true? What Jay likes to bring it back to. Oh, fat, sex, or Jay being great? No. That's three things? Me being unmarried. There it is. Unchilded. That's right. Unchilded. Unchilded. But I got one now, so please.
M1. Doug from San Diego, what was the word of the day? It was litter. That is correct. It should have been Chalk Fudge Sundae. Chalk Fudge Sundae. Sounds delicious. All right, hang in the line. You are going to go see Yo Gabba Gabba Live. Yeah, L-O-B. How's Ballin'? He's good. Have you taken a picture today? Not today. I like to do it at night so you get to see Ballin' being taken care of at home. Yeah, a little bath. Not to call BS or anything, but what's to stop you from just leaving them in your bag all day and then just taking a picture at night? You better not be doing that. Boy, you better not be. What am I supposed to do? Take video of myself holding him? That'd be great. That would be really cool. Yeah, reading a story to him. Yeah. L.O.B. has an egg named Ballin. And she has to take care of him just like the high school thing. Yeah. She's got to take care of him for a whole week. She's doing good. What?
What? Do they ever just throw stuff out there? Like? Take a video of it. Maybe just another picture. Just putting it in your bag. Well, I mean, L.O.B., you're a very inquisitive person. You've been known to ask questions once or twice. The Riddler. It'd be broken by now. He'd be broken by now. That's true. I think we'd like a midday update. Yeah, that'd be nice. Happy birthday. Hey, what's such a big deal about a little midday update? Yeah, it sounds like somebody's got something to hide. We're busy. Listen, we're busy. Play dates. Jumping, jumpy stores. Well, next time you go on a play date with some more eggs. Sure. Take out your... Midday update. She is mad. Man, look at her. So angry. She's a mom now, so... Yeah. She's like, yeah, you know what? She's going to be like... Am I getting overtime for this? If I'm going to do stuff outside of the office, then there better be some compensation. Just draw me onto Facebook when I should be working out. She's got to give a shot. She's on one. She is on one today.
So he's doing good. It's her egg, and we'll see him tonight, I guess. We'll see him tonight. No, we'll get to see you twice. I'll be here until 4 o'clock. That's true. I guess I'll take a picture of him in the meeting. Bring him to the meeting. Pretty easy. Oh, wait, Jay, are you going to the meeting? Yeah. Oh, you are. Absolutely. Why would I not go to the meeting? Because you try to get out of every meeting that we have. What are you talking about? Minus the try to. I'll be there for a while. I have a charity event that I have to do. This is what we usually get. Hey, Matt. Yeah, Jay. Looks like an old man just grabbing his back. I can't make it a day. To the all staff meeting? Yeah, if you could just tell Garrett. You're wincing a lot. Yeah, what's the matter? You're in a lot of pain, I guess. Sorry, I was... Oh, gosh, are you okay? Are you okay, Jay? I hurt my back. Jay, sit down. Okay, hang on. That is not true. Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute. Should we call someone to pick you up? Oh, no, that's all right. You know what, don't come to the meeting today. The meeting's not mandatory anyway. It is. When your general manager says,
It would be nice if you're all there. That means get your monkey ass there. If you'd like to come, here's the date we're doing it. You can cancel your witch doctor appointment. That's right. Yes. Yeah, cancel your appointment with the guy that got his degree in the Caribbean. I'm able to stay for a while until I have to go do a charity event. I thought you had a doctor's appointment. I thought you had a doctor's appointment. No, it was a dental appointment, but I canceled it. What charity? Now you have a charity. It is a golf tournament that I'm helping with. That's tomorrow, and I'm in it. I know, that one, too. It's another golf tournament. Yeah, I'm doing two golf tournaments in a row. Yeah. I'm not actually golfing today, though. You could have told them that you weren't available because you have a meeting. It's a charity. Hello. Well, then they'll understand. They have a lot of volunteers. No, they need me especially. Yeah, because I'm the only one that knows how to use a drill. Oh, it's a sound system. Oh, you mean the charity event that you're getting paid to put the production on for? I donated it. My wife would be getting paid. No, he's lying. He's lying through his teeth. That guy. Every time we have a meeting, he's like, oh.
I got a dental appointment. I made it two months ago. I know. I am signed up to meet the senator today. Yep. Well, I'm speaking in front of the town council about the potholes in my neighborhood. Yes. The speeders on my street. The speeders. I'm trying out a new church. I got a meeting with the deacon. The deacon. Yeah, that's right. Mike, I'm getting baptized today, so I can't make it. You understand. You understand. You get it. Mike, they're making me an elder today. Well, I'm already elderly. That's right. I'm a nude model. Good one there, Carrot Top. I'm a nude model in blonde art class, so I got to pose. Oh, man. Always trying. I bet you he leaves early. I'll bet you anything he leaves early. If he comes at all. If he comes at all. I'll be there in spirit. You better be there. He doesn't care. He's ballsy when it comes to missing meetings. What's he going to do to me? I ain't going to do much. They love me. If they were to do something to me, the flock would... They'd flip out. Maybe his boss should have a talk with him. Yeah. Who's that? Yeah, which boss? Garrett. Yeah. Hey, Jay. You can do whatever you want. Thanks, Garrett. As long as Mike's here, I don't care. Yeah. Hey, listen. Garrett. I love you, Jay. You can't do anything wrong. Thanks, Garrett. I appreciate it. I feel the same towards you. Plus, if I did anything to you, the flock would freak out. It'd kill me. Skin you.
So, Woods, will you tell the story about the spider? It's unbelievable. Do you have it? I can get it if you don't have it. It's disgusting. You sent it by email, right? I did send it by email last night. My wife Jamie and I, we watched a scary movie and then we needed some laughs. And so we went to... She went to Facebook, I went to YouTube, and I was watching old Ollie G bits. And Jamie starts looking at something and starts dying hysterically laughing. And I go, what, what? She goes, just read this. Now, this is from someone that she went to high school with. Yes, sir. Back in Texas. The person's name is Lisa. Lisa says, it is with a very heavy heart and more tears than I think I have ever cried. Report the death of our dear Rosie. I take her tomorrow to the experts for confirmation. We thought at first she was just molting. Two weeks on Monday that she hasn't moved. Oh my God. Nice parenting. Words cannot express the grief that I'm feeling. She was my baby and not just a spider. The first person to respond was her friend Renee who just wrote, I'm sorry.
Renee's a good heart. Renee is a good heart. Lisa responded to Renee and said, thank you, period. Her friend Shelly was the next to express condolences by saying, I can't say I like spiders, but I have cried extensively over a chameleon. Yep. Sorry for your possible loss, Lisa. Possible loss. Possible loss. Yeah, that's what I confirmed, yeah. Sad face. Oh, my God. Now, Lisa responded by saying, Thank you, Shelly. We open our hearts to these creatures and we care for them, and I would never have thought that I would have a tarantula, let alone three. Ew. We almost got a chameleon when we got her. Wayne is going to make her a tiny casket. The pet store she came from went out of business. Weird.
They told me she was a baby, but she could have been old. Tanya was the next to write. Rosie is on me. Tanya said, sorry for your loss, hon. With five exclamation points. Elizabeth wrote next. She said, I'm sorry you lost your baby, Rosie. Tell, no period. Tell Wayne, I'm sorry too. Because I know y'all loved her. Very much. All he talked about was Rosie when he was here. That update right there had Jamie in hysterics laughing so hard. That was Rosie! That was my wife cackling in bed. Oh my gosh. That's all he talked about. Oh my head. Well listen. My head hurts. I don't know what it's like to be attached to a spider but she did. Bolting.
Easy, Charlotte. What? It was molting. What is that? I don't know, but it's something gross. They shed their fur. I guess it's ranch. You can't say that. She... Hair. When I started reading it, I was like, oh, babe, I don't want to see a dog that passed away. I don't want to see it. Rosie? To her, it's the same. It's the same. Well, I'm not going to say I get it. Wait a minute. If you are insensitive, that is the same as being insensitive. If it were a dog. No, it's not. Don't make me think about a spider as a spider. Dogs are not poisonous. Dogs are domesticated. Dogs are domesticated animals. They have shelters for dogs. They're rescued. So is the tarantula. When the Twin Towers crumbled, they had dogs come in. Dogs are very valuable to society. Tarantulas are not. You're right about that. Tarantulas are valuable. They kill off other insects that can be.
Right. They belong in the wild. Well, I mean, we could have said that about dogs at one point. Well, we could have had a monkey's arm coming out of our chest, but we don't. Well, and these spiders are now domesticated. Yeah. Yeah. It's a pet, those rosies. My boyfriend's brother said, if you have four limbs, you have a better chance of us having compassion for you. You've got more or less. We're like, eh. You have to have eight limbs. Yeah, eight. So, yeah, if you have more than four limbs. You're done. Forget it. Forget it. You're creepy. It's hard to have compassion. Yeah. What if you have no limbs? Well, like birds. I mean, technically, exactly. That's the thing that he was saying. Zero compassion if somebody's snake does? Zero. Really? They love it. They love it. I don't care. Well, how is that different than a dog? Because a snake is slimy.
Nope. And he's not cuddly. They're not slimy though. He's not cuddly. No, they're scaly. They're not sweet. They don't really have a personality. You know, dogs really do. You know, there's plenty of people that believe that they do. Believe whatever you want. What if they said that about a dog? Dude, dogs are common. Like, dogs as pets is a common thing. It's probably the most lovable. Don't argue with me, people. about this. I know you do, so don't argue with me. I do too, but I thought, why is he making it? But you're putting more value on a dog. Because a dog is more valuable than a snake. To you. To everyone. If it's important to Woods, it's important to everyone. Well, that could be the same for my friend Jay Isbell. No, is that true? I see the point. I'm not into spiders, but I can definitely see somebody's love for a spider. I cannot. I think you have to be a sadist to have love for a spider. Yes, that's what I'm saying. You collect moths in your basement. You want to look into the beady little eyes of a disgusting tarantula. With fangs? He's got fangs, dude. To her, Rosie was a member of the family. She is a giant creep. Dogs have fangs. Dogs do have fangs. Hey, we didn't break at 40, did we?
No, we're supposed to break at 55. We're in the 8 o'clock hour. We're in the 8 o'clock hour. That's 941. Oh, my gosh. Time flies, pal. I'm like, okay. This is what he's doing. Okay, good. Well, then that means we can take your calls. I want to know what you think. 570-1949. There's got to be people that are listening. Oh, I'm sure. That know about spiders and snakes. And maybe they have personalities. Maybe they don't. Yeah, tell me about their value to the home. Let's hear about it. That's what I want to know. Oh, my God. It's better than I thought. Let your voice be heard on The Mikey Show now. Call 570-1949 or shoot him a deck. 949mikey at gmail.com. More of The Mikey Show coming up in minutes on FM 94.9. Wow. Call 877-Wawanisa or go to WawanisaUS.com. I'm Stacey Cohen, FM 94.9. The spider story is getting a lot of reaction on our fan page. In fact, one of our listeners is actually a spider owner. And we're getting calls from people that, you know, have spiders, enjoy spiders. In fact, M1 Rich from San Diego. Are you there, Rich? Yeah, I'm there. So you have spiders? Do I love spiders? No. I said, do you have them?
I don't own any spiders, no. But you do have opinions about them. Yeah. Yeah, I don't find them as disgusting creatures at all, just like all the rest of us. Well, they're a little different, right? I mean, we don't have eight legs. Yeah, of course. We don't have eight eyes. No, we don't. We're not furry and, you know, that kind of thing. Yeah. So, I mean, a spider is a little different, don't you think? Yeah. No? Yeah? No? No. Would you make love to a spider? No, I would not. Okay. There you go. Yeah, I mean, personally, I agree that, hey, listen, if somebody has an attachment to a spider, they got an attachment like they do to a dog. No. Well, you... Oh, you can't say that. You can't say that. Yeah, you can. They can be the same. But that lady did. They're not the same. But they can have the same attachments. Yes. You can be attached to anything.
I mean, there are people that attach to some really weird stuff, like Jay. Some of the stuff he watches is attached to some weird stuff. Doesn't mean that it's... Doesn't mean he's in love with it. Listen, it's definitely not the norm. That's what I'll say. It's not the norm to be attached to a spider. Yeah, it's not the norm, but it's the same love that you have for your dog. Sure. You don't believe it's... No, I do. I mean, I guess you can. I guess you can love a spider as much as a dog. I think it's really odd, and I think it's not the norm. Ella Beast is no way. It can be the same love, but it's odd that it gets to that because you wouldn't think it would be reciprocated. That's it. There's not a lot of reciprocation. The same way. And I don't think there's as much personality as you'd get from a dog or a cat. Yeah. That's probably why we domesticate them. Spider can't lick you. Right. Also, you pretty much have to keep them in a cage. You know, all the time. Like a snake, too. You kind of got to keep them. You keep it in, like, an aquarium. An aquarium. You know. So, Mikey, that's how you determine if animals are good if they lick you? That's a strange way to kind of gauge it. Well, no, but they reciprocate. Yes. I gauge an animal's love. By licks. Yes. It's reciprocity. Yeah. Reciprocity. I was trying to make...
I know what you were doing. It's funny because the joke I had was ice cream says the same thing about you. You get it? That's why I love you so much. Plenty of licks. Mike, do you even lick once to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop? You just swallow it whole. The whole stick bag. Mike, don't you... Disengage your jaws. Roll your head back. Roll your head back in order for you to eat your hamburgers and whatever. You're like a snake. Yeah, just disengage them and then you can stretch your jaw out so that you can get the whole In-N-Out burger in there and then just chomp down on it. Sometimes just the bag, the whole bag. Mm-hmm. Down the hatch. M1 Cashbox from San Marcos. Hey, how you doing? Good. I got a good spider story. Go ahead. I have two daughters. They're six and nine. And they saw something on Discovery Channel about tarantulas, but they decided they wanted one. Yeah, and I have a co-worker who lives in Fallbrook, and he said he gets them across his property every now and then again. We do. You do? We get them all the time. Oh, my gosh. So his dog was beating one up on their deck one day, and he grabbed it from the dog.
And he brought it into work. And I guess the dog broke one of his legs. He gave me the seven-legged tarantula. And the only way I had to get it home was in the saddlebags in my Harley. You were taking the tarantula back to your daughter in the saddlebag of your Harley. Yeah. So it's this seven-legged tarantula that survives a dog attack that rode home in my Harley saddlebags. And she put it in her pink bedroom and named it Peanut Marshmallow. What? How did she? Why that name? You can't explain it. It's a kid. Yeah. So does she pick it up? No, no, no, no, no. That would be weird, LLB. But she kept it for like, I don't know, a month and a half or so. And this guy I know that knows a little something about spiders, I guess, said that it was probably a male if it was out wandering around. It's outside our house. When it started to kind of posture all weird, we just had her let it go. Oh. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I would have let it go. Do their legs grow back? Or are they just permanently broken? I never saw it grow back. I don't think. But what do I know? Yeah, man. We get them out at our house all the time. I see them on mountain bike rides. They'll be riding at night. And all of a sudden, there'll be one on the trail. No. Yeah. Don't you think they're kind of... I think they're kind of pretty. Ew, Mike. You don't think they're kind of cool with them? Ew, it's on me.
Ooh, it's on me. Ugh. Stop it. I think they're kind of interesting. They're not. It makes me so itchy to look at it. You know, tarantulas don't bite. Who cares? They crawl and they got fur on their legs. I think technically they can. You really have to. That's what those fangs are for. Yeah, but they don't. I think they're too big. They can bite little things. You put your hand and they'll, you know, you can't do that with a black widow spider. No. Black Widows can't crawl on you, but a tarantula can. I would faint if there was a tarantula on me. I would faint. Really? Sounds like a Monday bit. No, if I looked down. Monday. Quit Monday. You couldn't do it, Woods? I'd go into shock. Nope. I'd go into shock, and then you guys would all be sued. L.O.B. and Woods. Yeah, I have a friar. Because both of you guys have the same reaction to this. You guys do realize that these are not like a rattlesnake. You can't handle a rattlesnake. I would handle a rattlesnake. Oh my God, I would not. I don't do snakes or spiders or cockroaches and stuff. Okay, but you know that a rattlesnake will bite you because it's poisonous and it'll bite you. Yeah, yeah, I know that. You can't handle them. I won't handle a rattlesnake. I'll handle a boa snake before I would handle them. Yeah, boas, they don't, you know, you can handle a boa. Great, I don't want to. Black mamba? You can't handle a black mamba.
It's the most deadly yellow bee. She could definitely. That's the name of my last boyfriend. That's right. Black Mamba. This is his nickname. But, tarantulas you can. They don't bite you. They just crawl. When I was in kindergarten, they brought him in and they let the kids handle him. I know. You know how, like, if I was like, dude, just let me bring a Ouija board in here. You'd be like, no, I'm scared of that stuff. It's identical. That's how I feel about it. Well, let's do it then. No. Both. No. No. I come in, I'm like, Mike, lay into this. Grab the other side of this. Let's go. Let's see if we can contact. I would say, yeah, but that's like real. So is a spider. So is a freaking spider. Yeah, but the spider's not going to bite you. It might. And I'm afraid of it. It doesn't matter. It could crawl down your shirt. Whatever you're afraid of, you obviously have your reasons. Everybody's got their reasons. Yeah, your reason is it's going to bite you, but it isn't. I'll do a boa if you do a Ouija board. Really? Yes, because it's the same thing. I would never do a Ouija board. I would never do a boa. I would do a boa. Okay, yeah. Okay, so I understand the...
Tarantula. Right. What's your issue with a boa? Squeeze my throat, right? Squeeze me to death. It's on your arm. I don't want it on my arm, and it's freaky. I don't like snakes, dude. I don't like the way they look. I don't like their beady eyes. Gosh darn, those things freak me out. I like their beady eyes. My butt is clenched as tight as it can be. I wonder why they get you so much, because they ain't going to do anything. It's a primal fear. I mean, and it is deep. Did you get bit? I don't think so. Did you get scared by one as a kid? No, we had one in our house once in Dallas, and I made Jamie get it out. Maybe that's it. I'm not kidding. I made Jamie get it out. I wouldn't do it. And I'm not kidding. True statement. That woman is gay. She called me. St. Jamie. St. Jamie. We have a snake in our house. I go, great, get it out of there. I'm not coming home. My goodness. I watched a documentary on Halloween, and they said... That is a primal fear from the caveman days. A snake. From being out in the wild. Spiders and snakes. Because they were poisonous. Primal. You couldn't see them. They were sneaky. I hope that Rebecca is not listening. Because I'm going to tell this story. I hope she doesn't get upset. We were going inside in the garage. And there was a spider. And it had. And it was like crawling in this box. It wasn't in the box though. It was on the top of the box.
And it made a web, and it was a brown spider, but I know what a brown recluse looks like, and it wasn't one of those. Okay? But it was a brown spider. And don't everybody start calling and going, oh, my gosh, Mike, it was a deadly, you know, Bayeritha motombus. You know, it was a brown spider. It wasn't deadly. And she goes, you know, she's freaked out by him. She says, couldn't you kill it? And I said, yeah, well, actually, no, I said, I go, why don't we just leave it alone? It's not doing anything. And she goes, no, because I don't want it to make babies and they'll be all over. And so she walked inside and I just grabbed whatever was closest. And it was like one of Jake's like toys or books. And I just went without thinking. But then I was, you know, as we were telling these stories right now, I'm like, oh.
she's probably going to get that. You know, there's going to be a spider on there. Dead. Dead. Dead. Dead. But she'll be like, oh my gosh, how gross. That happened in my mailbox. Because for some reason, spiders have taken to my mailbox. Perfect place. I went about a week without getting any mail because I was too scared to go in there. Hey, how come the mailman, how was he able to get mail in there and not... And get around the spider. Because he wasn't as scared. Yeah, because he's not a goose. Wait, wait, wait, wait. The spider was not inside the mailbox. It was inside the mailbox. Oh, yeah. Well, then how come he didn't kill it shoving mail in there? Well, he did the second time around. Oh. First time I went in there and they were like, there was a couple of them and they were in the back. One of them had a big fat thing on it, which I think was like a sack. So I just, yeah, I avoided it. What color? Because I was like, it'll go away. White sack. Oh, the spider was black. Any other markings? I don't know. I couldn't look long enough. Black Widow. Black Widow has a red hourglass on it. It freaks her out. It gets me too fast. We live by the coast, somewhat by the coast, about a mile away, and we're sunken down. Our house is sunken down. You guys have all seen it. And there are... What? Easy, rich guy. I was thinking...
When you said that, I was like, I was trying to think of a baseball player. Like somebody famous. David Justice, maybe. He lives here. I was going to say, easy, David Justice. Well, it's a really small house, but it's sunken down away from the street because it's on a really busy street. There are more freaking spider webs. I walk out to my car every morning and go, Oh, that's the worst. Every day of my life. That is, I don't like that. And they'll run across our door. And I walk out and I'm like, oh, God, it's my girl. There are a lot of them by the coast. There are. And I guess my mailman smashed one of them with the junk mail that I got. And I was taking the junk mail and throwing it away. And my hand raised over some rough patch. And I turned it over and it was a smush spider. And I screamed. You know that sack is probably filled with babies. Oh, yeah. I got it out. I put my arm in a plastic bag. And I was going, oh, wow. And taking a piece of junk mail and getting it. So I got one on the junk mail. That's what BFMCs are for. Right. Yeah, I know. He has to live with me. Well, you tell him when he comes over, you tell him to get rid of the spiders. Yeah. Well, then they came back, too. They came back. So now I haven't been in there for another couple days. Poison. You need some poison. Poison for the mailbox? Yeah. What if I poison the mailman? No, you just spray the yard.
Aquanet with a lighter. Yeah, spray around. Aquanet with a lighter. I'm not a homeowner. You're straight. Everyone knows that you're straight. But here's the deal. Here's the deal. You get Raid. You get Raid. Then I'll smell like Raid. I'll get on my finger. What about balling? You make sure you protect balling. I know. I'm scared. Your little leg. Oh, my God. M1 Steve from San Diego. They're both itching themselves. Steve, are you there? Yes, sir. Can you hear me? Go ahead. Just want to let you guys know, as well as the black widow, there's also the brown widow, which is coming up from South America. Really? Displacing the black widows, and it carries twice as much venom. For real? Are you just getting us? Nope. What's it look like? That's control tech. Something to look out for. They have made their way up from Mexico? South America through Mexico, kind of like the killer bees did and the Argentine ants and everything else that's terrible to deal with. And now they're making it into California. Yeah. They don't fight the black widows. It's just that they reproduce quicker. They're outpopulating the black widows. Where you only see one black widow, you'll sometimes find three brown widows. Oh, wow. Stop it. That.
is scary. They carry twice as much. Do they have markings? They're almost kind of like a tiger stripe-ish. It's a mix between a light brown and a dark brown, but it also carries the red hourglass on it. Yeah, we found one. Kim found one in the garage. Got longer legs. That's what this thing was. It had longer legs. It had longer legs. Egg sack? Yeah. Is what she saw? Yeah. They also carry the egg sack, but it looks like a spiky cotton ball, as where the Black Widow is, just a cotton ball. I'm going to throw up. I'm going to vomit. What can I do? How many babies will they carry at a time? It's tough to count, but it's, you know, when those eggs open up, it's just hundreds. Get the move, Lauren. It means that right now as you are sitting here at work or wherever you are.
At your house, crawling around in some old lumber that you've got in the backyard. Perhaps as we get closer to fall, when it's time to start lighting fireplaces, we go out to the wood to gather up some wood for the fireplace. No, when we do, we put our hands right down into the wood and pick it up and sometimes don't notice where our hands are going on the other side of the log. We're close! The log where, of course. A brown widow has made its way all the way from South America, Mikey. Made its own on the bottom of that log pile inside. Now I'm freaking myself. Yeah. Oh, my God. The one that was smashed on my junk mail was like striped legs. That's it, dude. That's it. Brown widow. That's a brown widow. With a sack with hundreds of babies in it. LOP's got brown widows. Yes. No, you can do it really cheap. You just go get the stuff from Home Depot and you mix it up in a little water sprayer. Talk to your landlord. Make them do it. No, you get some raid at any grocery store. Raid. What if it poisons the mailman? It won't poison the mailman. I got crabs right now, dude. I know, me too. It's so hot and itchy in here. You guys have crabs. And one Chris from Oceanside thinks he came across.
Hey, what's up? What's up? Got the Jeebies. I'm cleaning out my garage. I'm not having a good time right now. Yeah. I did find one like that. I thought it was just like a male. I didn't know that that was like a brown widow. Yeah, apparently they have the similar markings, but longer legs. And what did he say about the cotton ball sack thing? Spiky cotton ball sack. That's what the babies are in. Okay, I found one in my garage. I'm going to bomb the whole garage. Oh, my gosh. Literally, I'm going to. Yeah. No, you mean C4. Yeah, yeah, C4. Absolutely. Maybe Nita has some. I made very special cat collar for you. We take care of the problem. Longer than it's ever been. All right, I love you guys. Thank you. We love you. I'll be going to get a mail. I have a burning in my loins right now. Might be a spider. Yeah, it's a spider. M1E man from IB. Are you there? Yes, I am. Go ahead. I just want to tell you about those brown widows. First of all, they come from Florida. And they have an orange belly. It's not a red belly. He said they came from South America. No, they come from Florida. And back in the late 90s, we got a lot of aluminum ramps from Florida. And we're putting them on the portable buildings. Oh, boy.
And when they come in, I noticed because I was working on them, there's these little spiders on them with these orange bellies. I was like, man, what are these? I've never seen them before. Next thing you know, six years later, they're all over the county, bro. Really? And we spread those. We put those aluminum ramps from one end of the district to the other. Well done. Oh, my gosh. Well done. I live down in IB, and we have them down there, bro. And I have people all the way up to Poway have them and stuff. Who knew they could reproduce so quickly and make it across a freeway? There's the air. Loat them. They put a little web out and they just travel on it. Cars? You ever have one in your car? I'm surprised I haven't crashed. Woods, this one will get you. This one will get you. When Rebecca's mom first moved here from Indiana, she would go to work every day and her car was rattling. And she opened up the hood and a rattlesnake had crawled up into the engine for the warmth of the car. Mikey, no! Mikey, no! For the warmth.
And so when she opened up the hood, it, you know, it got scared. My key. Oh, my God. And they had to call animal control to come out and remove the rattlesnake from the inside of her hood. I would have taken my 357. I would have opened the hood and stood above it and went. I think she said that, like, she can sit like she thought, oh, boy. This is where we came, you know? This is where we're living? It's scary. Oh, that gets me. That gets me. There's a picture of a brown widow on our Facebook page. What's a widow? Oh, like a white guy. Oh, yeah. Hey, widow. Hey, widow. Widow. What? Oh, wow. Look at that. Oh, gosh. I've seen it. Oh, God. I've seen it. I've seen it.
Oh, that is not... Oh, my God, Lauren. They got a lot of poison in them. I'm so lightheaded. I can't look at their legs. I'm so lightheaded. All right, which would you rather do? Kiss Steven Tyler like he looks right now. I would make love to Steven Tyler. There's no question. I would do it all night. Wow. Then have to touch one of those? Yes! I would! I would do that over the tarantula. Oh, wow. So what's worse for you guys, snakes or spiders? Spiders. Really, Woodsy? Spiders, always. So, L.O.B., you would hold a python before you would hold a tarantula. Are those poisonous? No, no. Yeah, I would hold a python. Wow.
I'm not afraid of them. I'm afraid of rodents. Which is weird, too, because they don't mean you any harm. Don't they? Yes, they do. They want to gnaw your eyeballs out. Yeah, they do. They don't. Rats do not. They mean you harm. Have you ever read 4,000 Days, the book 4,000 Days? Oh, my God. I have. Yeah. When they're biting him. Yeah. Attacking him. In the prison. They're attacking him. Yeah, because they were starving. Right. Yeah, read American Psycho, too, if you want to talk about rats. Oh, all right. That was imagination. M1 dog bait from San Diego. Good morning, Mikey. Good morning. Not really a good morning. They keep itching. Go ahead. I'm just enjoying a day off. I got some time off. I just had a baby girl. Congrats. Congrats. Thank you. I was calling because, you know, dog bait, I'm a meter eater. I've walked through numerous bushes. Brown widows. You see them probably all the time. It's crazy. You get spiderwebs going across your eyeball. Yeah. And then you just like chewed out like all day long because of that. Oh, dude. You've had a spiderweb go across your eyeball? Yeah, numerous times because we're walking through bushes all day just going at it. It's not the best feeling. Have you ever gotten them in your mouth? Yeah, the spiderweb get in your mouth?
Yeah, because you were just charging through people's bushes, you know, and just, yeah, you don't see them, and they're just going all over the place, and then you, if you see a big spider hanging on a web, and then you, like, don't see part of the web, and you walk through it, and then you think you've got the big spider on you, it's nuts. Oh my gosh, I couldn't do it, I couldn't do it. Vanessa, are you there? Yes. What happened? We were having a lot of brown, big, fuzzy spiders. At our house, we called an inspector and they came and we found out that we were actually being overrun by brown widows. And we couldn't see them until they started dying and they would start falling off the trash can. They were falling off the garage door. It was disgusting. So you, in fact, what you're saying is you guys were infested with them. We had a lot of them, yes. We didn't see them until they started dying.
I mean, my boyfriend almost ran into one walking out of the garage because it was dying and it started to fall from its web. It sounds weird that they were actually kind of pretty. They have a bright orange belly. Oh, shoot it. I'm going to shoot it. Now you can see pictures of the egg sack on the Facebook page. Thank you for the call. Go ahead. Go ahead. I said, I actually, I did get goosebumps, though, when the pest control guy said that they're double the poison that black widows. Oh, gosh. Oh, my gosh. That would get me, too. But L.O.B., the best investment is to get the pest control. People have not seen one spider, anything since they've come. That's good. Sign me up for that. Thank you. Oh, I'm so scared.

And now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. It bothers me that I don't know how to be. Woods. That's why I don't eat that. funk cheese that you eat. I eat Kraft American singles. Lauren. My obsession with black men came from Bill Cosby. Yeah. And Jay. Man, if I could just be a home dad on FM 94.9. Did you see that? I love it. Guy got bit by a spider. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. What is that? I love it. That is a... That is a scary photograph. Oh, I hate all these pictures. That's a scary photo. I can't look at the Mikey Show Facebook page. No. I can't. I'm sweating from it. One guy says he has a boa, and he goes, I'll bring it in for you next week. LOB said she'd do it. You won't do it. That means you're Sally. Then you didn't mind. You're like, fine. I said, you can call me. I'll wear a pink tutu before I'll touch a boa. Hey, the M1s have spoken. They want to see it. What? They want to see you.
With a snake. No, there's zero percent chance. LB with a spider. No, there's not a chance. There's no chance. They won't do it. A Mikey and a tutu. Yeah, I won't wear a tutu. I'll do the boa. How about a 3-3? How dare you? I mean, I mean, how dare you? That got me so hard. A 3-3? Bam! Hit me hard. Hit me hard, bro. Hit me hard. Reality hits you hard, bro. Yeah, that got me. Hit me hard, bro. What about a 3-3? Holy cow. Yeah, LLB refuses to laugh unless she says a dad joke. She gives me the, yeah, I heard it. I laugh on instinct. She goes, yeah, she does. She gives me the, I'm sorry, I only laugh on instinct to what tickles my funny bones. Didn't do it. Are you ready for, look, they're still itching. Both of them are still itching. Oh.
All right, let's do that. It's a true statement. Oh, no. I'm reaching in and I've pulled out a statement. Gosh. The statement is as follows. Single men should not be allowed admittance to theme parks. That's a true statement. Oh, please. You're a monster. Single men should not be allowed admittance to theme parks. There's no question. Why? Why? Why? Why? LB, when you're at Legoland and you see the one guy by himself walking around, just sitting there on a bench, people watching, creep you out at all? What about Six Flags or something? Different? A little bit. Yes, the guy alone at Legoland because it's specifically for kids. What about Disneyland? That's for adults, too. Yeah. We saw him.
Mike and I saw. Oh, yeah. And this dude couldn't have looked creepier. At Disneyland? Yes. The happiest place on earth. Oh, yeah. He was happier. He was really happy. He couldn't have looked creepier. Creepy. You can go with just your friends, though. Or just yourself. Oh, yeah. If you go there with friends, that's fine. But if you go single. Yeah. By yourself. He can go by himself. No, I don't mean a single guy like, oh, I don't have a girlfriend. That's what I thought you meant. The one guy. The one. Oh. A guy that's all by himself. He doesn't bring anyone with him. I have one caveat. He goes there by himself. I have one caveat. What? He's from out of town. And he's like, well, I'm here. My meetings got canceled. And I'm staying here in Anaheim. I want to go check out Disneyland. And he walks around. He sees it. But the guy we saw looked like a freaking seasoned vet. Of Disneyland. He had a camera around his neck. He had a backpack. This guy wasn't, hey, my meetings got canceled. I'm going to go check out Disneyland. Yeah, you're just taking pictures of architecture. Yeah, yeah. What are you taking pictures of, creeper? Let me take out my notepad and write down the rules. You should. That one should be numero uno. He can go. He? Don't restrict someone because they don't have any friends. Until he grabs your child. I'm sorry, L.O.B., but some 33-year-old dude.
No business. He's just walking around. Yeah. No, worse. A 50-year-old dude. Just a big kid who never found love. Wasn't able to create a family of his own. Has no friends. Is. Capital I-S. How dare you. I'm with you, Mike. I'm with you. Convinced myself. Yeah. You convinced? Yeah, I'm convinced. I say let him. You have fun, buddy. Good luck with those friends. You want him around ballin'? Yeah. No way. Yeah. Would you let him around ballin'? No, but I'm going to watch my kid. I'm going to watch my kid, okay? Yeah, I know you are, but you don't want some guy taking pictures of ballin'? Oh, I would walk up to him and say, excuse me, let me see that camera. I'm going to delete that picture. And he says, hey, listen, I was just taking photographs. It wasn't of you. Fine. I'll, you know, you need a search warrant. There's more security at Disneyland than any other place. All right, you ready for this one? A powerful motivator is fear. That's a true statement. So is heat. Heat? Mm-hmm. That's a demotivator for me. Yeah, me too. Heat will motivate you. It'll motivate you to jump right out a window. I'm talking real heat. Oh, real heat. Well, that's fear as well. That's fear, too. That's fear of being burned. I'm telling you. He's right. Jay, do you mean like in life or do you mean like at your job? In life. Just period, overall.
It is the number one motivator. I think it demotivates you. If you're afraid of something, you're not going to do it, Mike, when I point to you. I don't know. I don't know. Give me an example. I mean, you could be right. I just don't know. You're going to lose your job if you don't do this. Okay, I'll do it. That's different. That's fear. I hate management by fear. I hate it. But people will do it. If you don't perform, this is the number you have to reach. If you don't reach it, you're out of here. Yeah, and you know the deal is if you don't get ratings, you get fired. You know that. We all know that. We're motivated by fear. Well, see, that's not what motivates me, though. What motivates me is my insecurity. But maybe that's a form of fear. You're afraid of being less than. Maybe that's true. I'm afraid of not having a gig and not being able to pay bills. Is he right? Sometimes fear can be debilitating. It can be over the top, for sure.
But maybe he's right. I'm trying to think of something to motivate more. Money? Yeah, money? Love? Inspiration? Being inspired? Inspirational speech? Motivational speech? I don't know. It doesn't motivate me as much as fear does. Me neither. Fear. Nobody's going to inspire me to jump off the deck of the Titanic. I've got to be scared to jump off the deck of the Titanic. Into those icy waters? I've got to be scared. It's the biggest one when it comes to actual... Action. Action, yeah. Yep. Maybe he's right. That's a good call. That is a true statement. It's a true statement, Jay. I like it. Great job, Jay. I was worried about that one. This is the last true statement, I think. There's one down in there. Oh, yeah, there is one. All right. Big weddings are wasteful. Big weddings are wasteful. Oh, that's a true statement. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, that's the point. Yeah, case in point.
Kardashians. Yeah. They may be separated. Already. $20 million their wedding costs. Yeah. Yeah, why not save that money and buy a house? Why not save that money and buy an island? $20 million? Yeah. Even $40 grand. Two months, my brother. Two or three months they've been married. Anything for one day, I mean, come on. And they are struggling right now. I could see maybe $8 grand for a big party, but anything over that? You're not going to get much for less than, or for more than. Less than eight. Be a hell of a barbecue at mine. Mine was about probably 10, and it was a freaking blast, and I ran at a bar. All right, we're at 570-1949. We got one more. A part of the Mikey Show now. Text them to 949mikey at gmail.com. The reason I've never been comfortable around kids, I'm always petrified they're going to go, you're short and fat. You don't skimp on hair products. You don't skimp on haircuts. You don't skimp on DJs. Designer jeans. And you don't skip on your teeth. Lauren. Yep. I admit when I'm wrong. And Jay. They will eat my edamame if I leave it out too long. On FM 94.9. From Top Gun, right? Nope. What? Footloose. Footloose. If we don't start trusting our kids, when will they learn to be trustworthy? I want you to all join me in prayer to wish them well. Pray for their safety. Now I think I know how you feel when I do the Jaws stuff.
Yeah. Like, you can't relate to Jaws. You're just like, you know, it's an okay movie, but man, why do you love it so much, Mike? It's identical. It's identical Jaws. Do you remember Gloria Vanderbilt perfume on Girls? Of course, yes. Of course. Of course. Did you ever wear it? No. As a young girl? I did not. I wore sunflowers and cool weather. Oh, yes. Sunflowers. Elizabeth Arden. Big player. Red Door? No, sunflowers. Elizabeth Arden made sunflowers, right? Yeah. Gosh, that stuff smelled good. Weird that you know that. Oh, that stuff smelled good. It did. Yeah. And Clinique Happy. Happy was a real good one. Yeah. Happy was a good one for dudes, too. Mm-hmm. There was a dude version of it. I wore a... I remember we went on a family vacation, and I had just gotten a new bottle of Acqua Di Gio.
From Armani. And it spilled in my suitcase on the trip. I smelled it. I couldn't. If I smell it now, it makes me sick of my stomach. There are two smells I remember from being young. One was the Gloria Vanderbilt. Man, that was a player. Oh, yeah. And the other great smell from my youth was Pantene. Oh, yeah. I loved Pantene. I remember when it came out, it came in magazines. And you could sample. And I remember taking, I was probably eighth grade, maybe. Yeah. And I remember using my hair and I was like, I've never smelled anything like that. Oh, see. Pert Plus, too, was like that. Pert Plus smelled so bad. See, but Pantene, I do not remember it as a dude thing. It wasn't. I remember it being a girl thing. I used it. It wasn't a dude thing. You used it? Yeah. Along with his secret antipers. Mm-hmm. Yep. Deodorant. I mean, I was out closing business, but I used it. Yeah, it smelled so good. Mm-hmm. Lucky guys. Yeah, I couldn't. I couldn't. I wouldn't use it. I never wanted to smell. I wanted to smell guyish. Explains the Mashed Potato Club. Oh, yeah. You remember that, Woods? When you worked at that all-gay bar in Chicago? I was at all-gay. You don't remember that? Remember, Woods? It's called the Mashed Potato Club. Yeah, you worked at a place called the Mashed Potato Club. I did. It was, I believe, it was a gay-friendly, bi-curious bar. Yep. You had to be bi-curious to work there. To get in and work there.
Yeah, to even get in. That was why I heard. Yeah, they gave you a questionnaire and then you can go inside. I read it on Yelp. We had a lot of cute girls working there. Lots. Well, they were eventually girls. Eventually. Made a lot of money there, too. How many guys just said, I'll just have the woods? That's a good one. My man. Easy, Simba. Yeah, good one, my man. Hey, thanks. Duh. All right, one last. That's a true statement. Did you ever wear Pantene? Pro-V. Pro-V? I think so. I mean, it's just like shampoo, right? It smells really good, though. Nobody really likes jam bands like Fish. I do. Are you kidding me? That's a true statement. I agree. Nobody really likes them. Fish is one of my favorite bands ever. Can I just tell you? I think that you like the atmosphere of the show. I like mine. No. I love music. I could not disagree more with you. I like Mars Volta. Jay, what's your favorite Fish song?
I don't like Phish. I'm saying Mars Volta. I didn't say Mars Volta. But they're a jam band. Duff Leppard. They jam. They go up on stage and they just recreate songs and they just go. And I love it. They just jam. They just jam. Yeah. I love it when Phish gets into a groove with a jam and they stretch it out 10, 15 minutes. I have cried at Phish shows from happiness. I am not kidding. Oh, wow. Mars Volta. Here's in my eyes. Now, question. Were you high on marijuana cigarettes? No. Yes, but... Why, when you said no, did you have a very funny smile? But I... Oh, wow, wow, wow. And I rest my freaking cake. No! People wouldn't follow them around. I have flown to places to see fish. I took a day off about two months ago to see them at Hollywood Bowl. Because they played on a Monday night. I sat fourth row. I cried when they started. I loved them. Mars Volta played four songs in their entirety. Easy with the Mars Volta. Easy with the Mars Volta. It's a jam band. It's a jam band. I'm talking about 30 seconds to Mars, guys. No, no. They don't do it. No, I seriously, it is, I never really talk about it on the air because we don't play a lot of fish on 94.9. Right. But they have become, over the years, probably my number one favorite. Wow. I...
So you'll throw a CD in and be like, yes, Fish. It took me a while on them because I was a big Grateful Dead fan. And I felt like they were just posers. That was the word of the day when they came out. But I've been to a couple Fish shows. I think people like going to the shows to get for the atmosphere. That's a big part of it. Fresh marijuana, Samuel Smith's, Taddy Porter. But dude, they are incredible. He's a phenomenal musician. Incredible guitar player. Phenomenal guitar player. But they're music. Fishman, they're funny. I saw him on his own down at 4th and B. Yeah. Not good without the rest of the band. Oh, really? I saw him at open air, and I liked it. He's okay, but you're right. I saw their bass player by himself at an amphitheater in the Redwoods. He does play solo. He does. He's a bass player, and he did. And it was actually his first acoustic bass. Mike, Mars Volta. It was his first acoustic bass show in the Redwoods. Mars Volta. I heard it, Jay. Mars Volta. Mars Volta. You get it, you like them. You like Mars Volta. It's plenty of great jam bands. I know. It's a whole culture dedicated. Woods is just as close-minded. Am I? Aren't you? They're so good. Let's see. Sorry to interrupt Brian Adams. Yeah, it's Brian Adams. If you're new listening to the show, Woods is crazy about Brian Adams. Brian Adams.
So crazy. We all were, dude. We all were. Cuts like a knife. Everything I do. I don't mind him, but I like Ryan Adams. David Ryan Adams. That's what we'll start calling him. David Ryan Adams. We heard you. We didn't know that his first name was David. He should have gone with David. David Ryan Adams. Have you seen, Ryan Adams has a new talk show on YouTube. You've got to check it out. Night Sweats. I am all over it. Check it out. You guys are geniuses. Black metal. Canadians on TV. Not Canadians. He will be all the way in. Hillary, what do you got coming up? I grabbed a couple bands that are playing the Holiday Hootenanny in December. I also grabbed The Clash. The new Everlast record. Have you guys heard that? I have. I love Everlast. I felt like they needed to do something when they were producing that thing. The voice is a little... I remember hearing you talk about that. It got a little deep. Yeah. It's a little more than it usually is. I mean, he's just getting older. Laying it on thick, but I am going to play that. And some arcade fire. Mars Volta. How about some Mars Volta? Mike. Have I said it? Mars Volta. Mike. Include the gaslight anthem. Mars Volta. There you go. It's going to be good. Lovely and talented Hillary is up next. We will see you tomorrow morning at 6. The Mikey shows up. Mars Volta.
