The show opened with Mikey welcoming listeners and discussing the Chargers loss, then Woods and Mikey reflected on Magic Johnson's HIV announcement from 20 years ago (P12). Later, the crew debated Andy Rooney's obsession with cotton in pill bottles (P8‑P10) and played a lively Name That Tune round identifying songs by bands with deceased members (P28‑P34). Jay Isbell faced scrutiny over his claim of being sick when he actually attended a garage sale and sold tickets (P35‑P42), while the hosts dissected the Penn State child‑abuse scandal involving Jerry Sandusky and Joe Paterno (P52‑P55). Tiffany called in to defend using her appearance to advance her career, sparking a debate about looks versus merit (P107‑P116), and the program closed with a discussion of a national study revealing widespread sexual harassment among middle‑ and high‑school students (P182‑P189).

Jay’s bike‑ride controversy

Identical outfits in China
Woods describes a trend in China where couples wear matching outfits, debating whether it’s cute or creepy.
Tiffany interview
Tiffany calls in to defend using her looks to land a management job, sparking a debate about appearance versus merit in the workplace.

Yeah, Charger fans, it's been worse. Think of it this way. There was a rally. It just didn't happen. Welcome to the Mikey Show. We have an open phone policy at the beginning of the show, so you can call us right now at 570-1949 and say hi. And talk about anything you'd like. You can talk about the Chargers, you can talk about your weekend, you can talk about anything on your mind. And we will discuss it at this moment. You got five of your best friends here today. I'm Mikey. I'm your very strange friend. I'm a very weird guy working on it. And Woods is a very good friend of mine. And he is also our sports guy. A little strange myself. A little strange himself. Can be. But it's a lovable way.
Woodsy is wearing an Izod, which is different for him today, but I think he's playing golf in this beautiful weather. Yeah, I am. Got a golf tournament with my boys from Dave & Buster's today. There you go. Up in Poway. There you go. Real good. L-O-B is Lauren O'Brien, comedian, blue-eyed human. Jay Isbell is our producer. Yes, sir. 48 years of age and wearing a belly-up t-shirt. Not a big fan of football. You'll know more about this. And Nicole is still hanging out with him. I remember her name because Woods taught me how to remember somebody's name. Yes. Yeah. And the fact that she's smoking. She's 20 years old. Hey, she could still be smoking hot at 20 years old. Well, here's the deal. You know that because there was a girl that you thought was smoking at about, what, 14, 16? But she wasn't an employee. Yeah. It doesn't matter. You'd still be hot as an employee. Yeah, that person didn't have an HR director. Yeah. I don't think I'd get in trouble. If I went, hey, I have no clothes on out here, and she's smoking hot, then that's a problem. Yes. I think it's all dependent on how you make Nicole feel, really. That's creepy, Uncle Jay. Hospital work environment.
I think Lauren may have just nailed that perfectly, actually. She may have actually just... I've been a manager for many years. I've been harassing people for many years. Look, I know how to do it where you don't get caught. I wrote the damn manual on it. I have a bug in HR's office. As soon as they start yapping their mouths, guess who comes in and says, Excuse me, I don't need to talk to you. Can't wait. You nip it. Yeah, nip it right in the bud. Nipple it. Nipple it. That's right. Let's see. We got M1 Brooklyn on the line calling from San Diego. What's up? Good morning, Mikey. Good morning, crew. How are you guys doing? What's going on, dude? Hey, I'm all right. I just wanted to take a second this morning to thank you for what you guys do. Obviously, the show is great. It's hilarious. It's well-produced, Jay. Every now and then, you guys do something different that you don't hear elsewhere on the radio. Mikey, sometimes you open up and you give us a little bit of your testimony. Yeah. And sometimes it even goes on for a few minutes. And I want to tell you that, at least for me, I can't speak for the listeners. But sometimes that's just what I need. Thank you, bro. Hey, that is an encouraging thing to hear. I needed that. I like that. Thank you. I really appreciate that, bro. Thank you very much. God bless you. God bless you. I needed it. It's nice to hear that.
Word of the day is invention. So between now and 10 o'clock, I will say the word invention. I'll weave it into a sentence. You got a list. Could even happen during commercials. So you got to be listening for it. And if you're calling nine, when you hear me say the word invention, pair of tickets to see Black Lips and Raw Raw Riot at Mammoth Mountain. That includes lift tickets to Mammoth Mountain on the 12th. That is nice. That's a Saturday. Real good. So, yeah, be listening for that word, invention. Woodsy, it was not a good Charger day. No, it wasn't. It started very powerfully in the Chargers' favor. We thought, oh, what a great game this is going to be. It's just what we needed. You drive down the field on the opening drive and you score a touchdown. Yes. And that's what you want. And, you know, thought a lot about it. I'm pretty impressed with the way that they came back and fought in the fourth quarter. Me too. I really am. But three interceptions by Phillip, two for pick six. You spot a team like that. Here, here's a free 14 points. It was a difference in the game. And they lost by a touchdown, 45-38. And it's sad to see, man. It really is. Because we were like, well, they're 4-1.
Looking great. Great start. Now they're 4-4. Here's the deal, though. They're tied for first in their division. Now the Raiders are coming to town on Thursday, and that's going to decide. They're all tied. The Raiders, the Chiefs, and the Chargers are tied for first. Oh, wow. Lucky for us yesterday, the Chiefs lost to Miami, and the Raiders lost to the Broncos. So you don't really lose much. We had a chance to beat the world champs. I mean, no question. We had a chance. We had them on the ropes. Their defense was putrid. Absolutely putrid. Then again... Kind of so was ours. We made some big stops when we needed to in the fourth quarter, but, man, Rodgers was like a surgeon. Aaron Rodgers just dicing us up. He looks as good as any quarterback in their prime. Joe Montana, you know, 15, 20 years ago. He looks that good. Absolutely. I mean, he just doesn't miss. So there were some more mistakes, sloppy play, eight penalties, 64 yards. I mean, they're killers. And the thing that happens with their penalties, not on first down, I mean, just the worst.
timed penalties that you've ever seen. You know, and a lot of that starts with the head coach, and Norv wanted to talk after the game about what went wrong. You're playing a team like that, you can't give them a couple scores. Obviously, our guys did a great job fighting back and competing and giving us a chance in all three phases, but you spot them like that and you're playing that good a team, I think it's real difficult. Yeah, and there was a... Phillip Rivers wasn't real happy after the game. Mike and I talked about it this morning of, hey, you just go out and you lose a heartbreaker, and then you've got to answer questions from fat, cigar-smoking guys. Trying to bait you. Trying to bait you. Chubs like me in there asking questions. Not that I'd ever get there on a Sunday, but if I did, I don't know that I could ask him anything. This is Phillip. When they asked him, Phillip, are you hurt?
No, I mean, I appreciate everybody trying to come up with a theory and reason that I'm hurt. I'm not hurt. I've thrown a handful of picks that I normally don't throw, and I'll probably throw some more throughout my career. And there won't always be a reason why. Gosh darn it. He's just... That's true. It's so true, man. It's a true fact. Well, and to add insult to injury, guess what they get to do today? They get to get their butts out of bed. Sit in a hot shower for 20 minutes and then drive to Chargers facility and practice today. Because they have a Thursday night game. And they're just beat up. They played Monday night. Then they had a short week to Sunday. And now they have a real short week to Thursday. And they're just beat down. They lost both those games. No thanks. No freaking thank you. It's Thursday night games. Everybody's watching. Yeah. They want to see it. NFL fans, you want to see a Thursday night game. And that turns out a good matchup. It's not a dumb game. It's for first place in the division. Holy cow, man. I don't know what's wrong with these cats, but Phillip ain't helping. And he's the guy. Also, unless you didn't hear, every time...
Woods talks about a celebrity. Something happens. Who was the first? Gary Coleman? Yes. Woods talks about Gary Coleman. Made a joke. Made a joke. Guy dies that day. He died that day. Who else? There's been a string. I can't remember, but then I know M1s will tell us. Oh, yeah, they will. They like to remind me. But anyway, this was Andy Rooney, who passed away over the weekend at 92 years old. At one time, talking about his death. Our internet is really slow today, so we're going to have issues. It's still trying. It's not much fun growing old, is it? That is not Andy. That was not Andy Rooney. That was Mike Wallace. Maybe you should talk about him, Woods. Is he still alive? Yes, he is. Yes, he is. I mean, I'm going to die, and that doesn't appeal to me at all. Do you think about death? I do. I do think about it quite a bit. And? I don't like it. Now, what was Andy Rooney known for? Well, a couple of things. One thing he was known for was being the camaraderie old man. And he was always the camaraderie old man, even when he wasn't old. Also, his eyebrows. He had Oscar the Grouch.
Eyebrows. 100%. So do you think when he was 30, he was out at the pub like, what's the deal with light beer? Yes. It's not light. It's who he is. Now, if you don't know what we're talking about, this is an entire segment he did one time on cotton that they put in pill bottles. He did a segment on that. What's the deal with the cotton on the bottom of the pill bottles, and why does it have to be there, that kind of deal? Do you realize I've been doing these comments on 60 Minutes for nine years now and haven't once mentioned the cotton they put in pill bottles? I don't know anything offhand that mystifies Americans more than the cotton they put in pill bottles. Why do they do it? Are you supposed to put the cotton back in once you've taken a pill out? Look at these bottles of vitamins I bought. Look at all the cotton they got in here. I bought another bottle just like it. Take the cotton out of that one, too. I bet I can get all the pills in this bottle into the other bottle. You've got to admit it's good stuff. It's what comedians do. It's observational humor. He just did it in a deadpan way like he meant it. And America loved it because it was basically watching a comedian every week. I bet comedians ripped him off. It's like Seinfeld's whole bit.
Yeah, what's the deal with cotton? Yeah, you just didn't notice these things, but he did. Oh, but about three or four pills. This is a bottle of Eli Lilly bicarbonate of soda. I mean, is that much cotton really necessary? Oh, my God. I called the Eli Lilly company in Indianapolis. Of course you did. And they seem like a good, responsible company as far as I know. I wanted to talk to the person in charge of deciding how much cotton to put in a bottle of pills. I love that. Yeah. Love that. I hate it. Why? I hate it. Why? Why don't you zip your lip? I love it. It's funny. I hate it. He means it to be funny. You get that, right? No. I think he's really pissed off a lot. I thought he was a pretty pissed off guy. Well, I think in some cases he was, but I also think that in other cases he saw weirdness in our lives and went, what is up with that? You know what I mean?
And I genuinely think that he thought to himself, I don't think that Cotton kept him up at night. Yeah. Oh, I think it did. I don't. I think it really did. And that's where we have the disconnect. The camera went off. He's like, I'm not kidding. Look at this freaking Cotton. Do you think I'm joking? I guarantee you. I think he found the humor in it. And I want to know who is in charge of that. I want to know who made that decision. And I want to know how they figured out. how much they were going to put. I learned, among other things, that they don't even use cotton at Eli Lilly. Their cotton is rayon. This is Maalox for upset stomach. The bottle comes in this box. You take the bottle out of the box, take the cotton out of the bottle, and if they just use the box and not use the bottle, look at this. All these pills would have fitted into the box. I freaking love it. I freaking love it. All right, here he is talking about his eyebrows. The famous Oscar the Grouch. Gigantic. How can you not trim that? So wiry. How can you not trim? There are literally pipe cleaners flying out of your forehead. And you haven't done a thing about it. I'm burning times. I'm waiting for the thing to load. What's the deal with the internet anyway? We really need this. You know, what's the deal with wireless?
Yes, we aren't wired, but things go wrong all the time, especially here at KBZT. Why? I haven't had a good connection here at KBZT in the entire year and a half I've been here. I've got an entire studio devoted just to the Mikey Show, yet I can't get a wireless signal worth an ass. It's very passive-aggressive, Andy. Yes. It isn't passive-aggressive. It's observational. It's just aggressive. I'm simply stating a fact. Andy. I'm stating a fact. We've got a wireless connection here, and you'd think that it came from the Stone Age. In fact, I think in the Stone Age, they probably had a better wireless connection than we have today. Are you kidding? Yeah, I'm still waiting. You want me to unplug it and plug it back in? The old on-off bit. Will that help? Yes. Sure. Why not? That won't take much time. I'll do it. That's good. Yeah. I'll play this segment after it reboots. We got a problem with the internet, you know? Yeah. It's very crotchety this morning. Very Andy Rooney-esque. Today, it was 20 years ago today, in 1991, that Magic Johnson...
gave that incredibly memorable press conference where he announced to the world that he was HIV positive. That was 20 years ago. That's crazy, man. I remember where I was. Me too. Where were you, Woods? My living room. Just got home from school. Me too. I was in my parents' living room. You were too? Yeah, just got home from school. Just couldn't believe it. Magic Johnson. Florida. Yeah. And then everybody started to wonder. Did he have sex with a guy? Did he use drugs? Did he have promiscuous sex with women? You know, it was like everybody was wondering. His wife stood by him. And, you know, that guy is doing really, really good. He responded well to the medication that they gave him. And, you know, worked out really good. Is that the urban legend that he's not testing positive anymore? I don't know if that's an urban legend because I've heard that as well. Me too. I want confirmation. I've heard that when they test him for the HIV virus that it is not present, but I don't know if that's an urban legend. Can I try it now, Jay? Give it a go. All right, let's see. Andy Rooney and his eyebrows. I don't know what to do. I try to look nice. I comb my hair. I tie my tie. I put on a jacket. But I draw the line when it comes to trimming my eyebrows. I wonder what his downstairs look like. I was in the process of...
Figuring out a clever way. How is that not clever? That's clever. How's it not? Well, I was trying to think of a way where I could say that, yet at the same time not just say it. I said downstairs. Oh, so you thought there may be some people that are actually thinking, well, he means of his home. His toes, maybe. Use a tack. Is he talking about his toes? He just told me use a tack. Jay did. Use some tact. When Jay tells you to use some tact. That's insane. What is wrong with you? He's right. You work with what you got. Yeah, you do. I wonder what his pubes look like. Maybe we phrase it. I said downstairs. I'd say his junk or his crotch or any of that stuff. I wonder how he is down under, mate. There's so many things wrong with it. It did. Yes. Well, there it is. There it is. That was nasty. Stop it.
Forest for the tree. He's just dancing on his grave. Identical J. Isbell. Guaranteed. Nope. That's how every man was back then. When men were men. That's right. That's before the days they started to manicure. Like we're making some sort of origami. Salt and peppered up real good. Acting like a bunch of women, really. Yes. It's true. Back in my day, we didn't do things like that. We weren't trying to make some sort of maze that people would walk through as if it were edges. We were men. Do you think the fellas that were fighting the krauts out there in Germany were doing anything? Why not? That's very offensive to the Germans. Well, back in my day, that's who we were fighting. We're not in your day anymore. Oh, for goodness sake. Everybody's so politically correct. Justin Bieber is vehemently denying the paternity suits against him. Vehemently denying this was him on the Today Show on Friday. Or not. What's the deal? Solid connection. So, did you guys have a good weekend?
I'm going to try this one more time. I'm going to start pedaling. Get the internet back up. Here we go. It makes me sweat. There is a lot of good that comes with celebrity. You know that. So they asked him this question out on the mall in front of all of the spectators. White hot spotlight. And you found yourself under it recently. Some headlines. There's someone who's filing a paternity suit saying you're the father of her three-month-old son. What would you like to say about that? I'd just like to say basically that none of those allegations are true. And I know that I'm going to be a target. But I'm never going to be a victim. I think it's crazy because every night after the show, I'm gone right from the stage right to my car. So it's crazy that some people want to make up such false allegations. But set the record straight, none of it is true. Do you know this woman? Her name is Mariah Eater. Have you ever met her? Never met the woman. Here's the deal, man. I mean, it's going to be real easy to figure out. Absolutely. It's going to be real easy to figure out. And if it comes out that...
he's not the father of this kid, even I will feel like the biggest douchebag in the world because I thought to myself, wow, man, how did that happen? How did that all go down? Maybe he didn't do it. Yeah, it's very possible. I mean, if he's being that vocal about it, he's probably pretty sure that he did not sleep with her. Her name is Mariah Yeeter, and she is from San Diego. And by the way, she has a bench trial in Vegas December 12th because she is up on battery charges. Could land her in jail for six months and come with a thousand dollar fine. According to a police report, she slapped her 18 year old ex on December 21st of 2010 while they were arguing about the guy's new girlfriend's broken car window. Oh, who doesn't? I feel you, sister. Yeah. And he says.
I've never met this chick. I never met that girl, man. Never? Man, Matt, I told you don't want to be asking me even about that. When we was in the green room and you came in and asked me if you could ask me, and I said, no, man, don't ask me about that. Especially not out in front of my fans, man. Justin, I think that there are probably a lot of guys in the legitimate hip-hop world that listen to you, a 17-year-old Caucasian kid from Canada, speaking this way and get irritated. What would you say to those? I keep it real, man. You know, that's how I do. Okay, let me ask you something. From Canada, man. What's up, brother? Let me just ask you this, Justin. I mean, how are you, in fact, keeping it real when you are speaking this way? Well, man, this is how I grew up, man, you know, and the music I be listening to, you know, and just how I be, man. That's how I do this. You know, like I said, man, when I get off stage, man, I go right to my car and I get on the bus. Did you just say you go right to your car? Is that what you said? I said I go right to my car.
Okay, but there's only one. That's what I said, Cora. Okay, but that's two syllables. You're making it into two separate words. We split in Hurrah's here, man. I don't want to, you know, I don't even want to get into this with you, man. It's not Hurrah. Nice Bieber. Thank you, Justin Bieber. Anytime, Matt Lauer. We all owe him an apology if he didn't father that kid, don't we? I mean. I wasn't really pointing the finger. I mean, Mike, you definitely jumped right on that. How dare you? I can't believe the hype. Why did you have that shirt on and said, I can't believe you, Justin Bieber? Have you ever heard what it sounds like when a news reporter is giving a report on an earthquake as the earthquakes happen? It's live and happening. You're going to hear that audio next.
And we're going to play Name That Tune, so call us. 570-1949, and we're going to play Name That Tune. Jay, what is the prize? Our light's shaking quite a bit here. It is now calming down as another earthquake has just hit. I still hear a few lights rattling here in our studio.
And we will, we still have our, if you can see our Duratran back here, I don't know if you can see it behind us, still shaking. Can you tell us what a Duratran is, please? Oh, the Duratran is shaking. What am I looking at? You can see our event tied back there. It's having a real hard time. Here in Oklahoma City. We do not know the epicenter as it just now happened. And we will continue to gather information for you, obviously, as this is a second large earthquake here in central Oklahoma today, the other early this morning. You can see our Rubicon and definitely our 360 is having a tough time. Folks, I want to direct your attention to our fossil fiend. You'll see it's just behind me here. Oh, I love it. I love it. All right, it's time for Name That Tune. Let's turn on our little gizmos here that will determine that Woods is not always first. Yes. That's the reason that we have these devices. They are actually electronic devices. that cost $350, that we press the button so that there is no argument over who was first. Isn't there? There's still an argument. Yeah, he still claims there's something wrong with the machinery or something of that nature. The button didn't work. All right, now, this is the theme today in Name That Tune is... Oh, oops. Weird. For those of you that aren't here, I just want you to know that...
Woods accidentally hit his button. Already. His hand just lingers on there. Typical fat guy. It's only okay when the drop says it. Well, yeah, I mean. It has nothing to do with me hitting my button early. Your hand's too heavy. Premature would be one thing. Yes, yes. All right, Jay. It's Dead Guys, right? It's Dead Guys. Yep, bands with dead guys. Here we go. Woods. The Who. Wow, what was that song? Eminent Front. Wow. Will you take title or artist, my friend? I will. Who's dead in the who? John Entwistle. Wow. Yeah. Wow. You can't just make up names. I'm not. Bass player. Here we go. L.O.B. Pink Floyd. Yep. Oh, wow. Who's dead in there? Sid Barrett. Wow. Here we go. L.O.B. Nirvana. God bless. Kurt Cobain. Oh, what's up?
Woods is still questioning it. Such BS. Wow. That's awesome. How is that even possible? It's awesome. It's the best. It's not. Shut up. Here we go. Go ahead, Mikey. Otis Redding. Oh, okay. All right. All right. Here we go. Going to continue. LLB. Is it Ike and Tina Turner? Wow, look at you. Ike's dead. Yep, Ike's dead. Ike is dead. Reset. Reset. Here we go. Oh, come on. L.O.B. Queen. What's the leaves? I mean, there's no question. That is so great. We have to film this next time. God bless. Oh, my gosh. And away we go. I don't know. Oh, what? Well, you're first. See, it does work, Woodsy. Your light is green. What? You got to deduct a point. Deduct a point. All right, let's try again. Here we go. L.O.B.
Shoot, is it the Ramones? Yes. Woodsy, you should have stayed in there, man. Here we go. Oh, my God. L.O.B. Grateful Dead. She is killing you, Woods. I mean, she's absolutely wiping the map. It is six. She's wiping the map. It is six to zero. This is James Spader. She is absolutely making you look like a toilet. Well, maybe I get a chance to redeem myself. Maybe you do. Jerry Garcia's dead, by the way. Mikey, if you didn't. So's Pigpen. Here we go. Woods. Rolling Stones. Go ahead, LB. You didn't reset, but it's the Beatles. Oh, yeah, it is. Wow! Freak me. Even I'm rooting for her at this point. Where are we? Where are we? Seven, nothing. Seven, actually negative one, Woods. Oh, yeah. LB has seven. We have nothing. I have negative one. Oh, my gosh. We got hoes. All right, this next is for ten or what?
No, I have four left still. All right, let's do this. Come on. Let's do it. Mikey, what do you got for me? Well, since I was first. Yes, clearly. The band was in excess. 100%. Michael Hutchins. That's right. Hung himself. We know. We know. We know. We know. We know. It may have been dirt. We know. We know. We know. We know. We all know. It might have been an accident. So these next three. Oh, boy. Well, it's the next one. The next one's a four-pointer. We'll figure out what those are worth as we go. Here we go. Oh, son of a... I'm terrible today. I'm going to kill myself. Sweet Home Alabama. Yeah. Leonard Skinnerd. Leonard Skinnerd. Here we go.
Did I get any points for... You got three. You got four. That was four. You got one for in excess. Oh, that was a four-pointer. Yeah, it's a four-pointer. You got a watcher. You got a watcher. You got a watcher like a hawk, dude. Sorry. Unbelievable. I just couldn't believe it was a four-pointer. Unbelievable. How many are left? Here's another four-pointer. Oh, God. Get. Who has it? I can't see anybody. It's Woods. His time is up. It's not up. That's the fat boys. Hold on, hold on. Quit hitting it. Gotta reset. Gotta reset. No, L.A.V. You reset it. I reset it. Rolling Stones. What is going on? I don't know. You're good at this game. I'm really good at this game. I'm terrible today. I'm in your head. She's in my head. She's in your head. This is a 50-pointer. I'm standing up, that's why. Ow, my hand hurts now. This is a 6-pointer. Come on, Jack! This is the last one? Last one. Oh, God. Oh, come on! Mikey? Pantera! One, two!
But we're still tied. Oh, you're tied. Yeah. Nice try, guys. Okay, I have a breaker here. I have one breaker. Shut up! I'll stay out. I'll stay out. Shut up! He's got a tiebreaker. A tiebreaker. Here we go. I hate your guts. I'm out. I'm out. Here we go. You ready? Yep. Easy. Go for it. Mikey? It's Stevie Ray. Yes, it is. Oh, boy. I recycle. Winner, winner, chicken dinner. Yes! Jay, you're a boy. Wow, Woods has his shirt off. Woods has his shirt completely off. Exposed skin. Exposed. Way to hose the listener, I guess. There's no listener hose. M1 Super Mario. Yeah, way to hose. Super Mario, are you there? It's ridiculous. Yeah, it is. Six.
pointer. I fought the fight of my life for you, bro. Yeah, he got three right. Congrats. How do you feel, man? How do you feel? I feel great! He got three. I got eight! Now you know how I feel. Oh my gosh. It's the worst. Super Mario, you just won. Hang in line, alright, bro? Alright, bro. Yeah. And his time was up on that TV ring line. You got hosed. I know. There's no doubt about it. Actually, it's not really me that gets hosed. It's the listener. No, it's you. No, a listener still wins. A listener still wins. Yeah, but not the listener that should have won. Not the listener that chose wisely. Wow. It's a crowd shoot. It is. I guess it really is. You know what I mean? It's just like rolling dice, really. It's not a game of skill. Don't go off a skill. I guess just pick your favorite next time. Mike came in when... That's what I'm talking about. That's what you said. I'm embarrassed for my performance today. Absolutely embarrassed. Hey, wait a minute. I got it. Hang on a second. We got breaking news. We have breaking news. This has never happened before in the history of The Mikey Show. Two people on The Mikey Show have the same recap. Whoa. I will first read Woods.
For this, I need some poetic music. The reason I need this kind of music is because one of the people on the Mikey show can be quite a plebeian sometimes. Calling others out and saying, Ha! From Woods. Recap. Had a pretty awesome weekend. Hit beer fest with Jamie and L.O.B. on Saturday. I just saw Jay give a look like, yeah, go ahead. I am prepared. Bring it. I am prepared. I was sure that I'd see. Let me just read it. Yeah. Wood says, I was sure that I would see my man Jay Isbell there. Yep. Free food, free beer. Since he guilted all of us when we failed to mention the show at the end of the show on Friday. But surprisingly enough.
Jay wasn't there. It's true. He told me he was sick. Feeling bad. Not feeling good. Not feeling good. I wasn't completely sick. I was just not feeling good. What was the deal? What were you down with? What did you come down with? Head cold kind of thing. Head cold. Still have it still. Hard to breathe. No, I do too. No, I think I've got a sinus infection that just won't go away. Congestion, definitely. Chest congestion. Now, that's why Wood says that he found it odd that when he talked to Nick, Jay's future son-in-law. Hopefully. He heard... They're not engaged yet. No. Everyone just relax. He heard that Jay had that very day that he'd told Woods, can't make it, I'm under the weather. He'd invited Nick to go on a bike ride that very day. As everybody knows, it's the cure for a head cold. That's right. Ride a bike. And Woods says, yes, I am, in fact, Carl Callout. Now,
L.O.B. has the same story. Weird. It's what you call a corroborating story. You see... We didn't even talk about it. No. But separately, L.O.B. saw Nick and Nick told L.O.B., yeah, the reason Jay's not here, I don't know. I don't know why he isn't here. He called me earlier. He wanted to go on a bike ride. Sounded fine. That's true. That's true. I never talked to Nick over the weekend. Oh, my God. Oh, wow. I swear to God. I only wish that we could get Nick on the phone. We talked earlier in the week, and we had talked about, hey, we should go on a bike ride this weekend. But that was earlier in the week. Will the real Jay Isbell please stand up? Well, here's what happened. So 6 a.m. rolls around. Yes. And my wife gets up to put on her garage sale. Yeah. So around 7, I wake up.
And I walked downstairs and I helped her drag some tables out. I'm like, man, I just do not feel good. Because I was going to leave the garage sale at about 11 or so to go for free food and free beer, which is in my wheelhouse. Yes. Just couldn't do it. Couldn't do it. So my neighbor, who had been asking about tickets, I gave him my tickets so they wouldn't get wasted. Now, by give them, I mean I sold them for face value. He said it was the best time ever. I sold them for face value. I swear. I think that's a little. I don't know. It's a little unusual. You have to admit that there are portions of that story to be questioned. In fact, if I were an investigative reporter, I would want to know right from the very beginning, did Jay actually go to his next door neighbor and say, listen, I can't make it. But if you'd like to make it, I'd love to give you these tickets. Now, I notice that these tickets actually have a monetary value. But I wouldn't dream of... Doing that, I wouldn't dream of it. Of course, that would be wrong. I could just give you the phone number to this guy. Please! And I can also show you my phone history. Is his name Liberty and Justice For All? No, his name is Mark Solnare. Mark, if you are listening, please call us. Kim, if you're listening, I can show you my phone history.
Kim, if you're listening, I would like to know how sick was your boy, Jason R. Isbell? Your Honor, I have a question. Yes, go ahead, please. Did you, in fact, go on a bike ride? I did not. Remember that you are, in fact, under oath. I did on Friday. You are under oath, sir. Did you go on a bike ride on Saturday? Nope. I'm going to ask this question one more time, and I expect an honest answer. Because if we have proof of it, say a photograph taken from a phone. An M1, perhaps. Yes. Go for it. Good luck to you. What I will say, though, is I did go to Kehlani's later that afternoon. Oh, you must have been feeling real sick. How dare you? I had to get free food somehow. Kim was buying, so for the garage sale money. Well, I had money. I'd sold some tickets at $80. I was like, hey, let's go feast. I had $80. Yeah, I mean. Why did you pretend you were going? You were never going. You were never going. You pretended just to make us feel bad. You knew that garage sale was happening. You knew you were going to get money. And you knew you weren't going anywhere. I wasn't going to help her. I wasn't going to help her. You weren't going to help her. No. I knew it. I knew it. I knew it. Gosh, I love this guy. Wow.
He's something. Paging Dr. Clown's shoes. There he is. We got him. He made us feel so bad. I did. I actually felt shame. I felt shame. I felt like it was just assumed that I was going. So I didn't feel like I needed to flaunt it on Friday's show. I just wanted to make sure people show up. They showed up in droves, my friend. There was a line around the block. There was one person that didn't show up. It was a beer festival. Well, yeah. Well, I was talking about you, Mike. That's correct. That's correct. Well, we didn't expect a recovering alcoholic to be at a beer festival. We expected a man that wears free t-shirts from 1987. And an actual alcoholic. Oh, my gosh. Current alcoholic and training. Alcoholic and training in AIT. I, this weekend, flew up to Tracy, California via Oakland, California. And the Oakland airport is probably the grossest airport. You were on a plane? I was on a plane. Where did you go? I went to Oakland and then I went to Tracy. But for what? I went to go speak. Wow. I went to go speak. I did not know this. You did not? Yes.
You guys do a lot of stuff, talk about a lot of stuff when I'm out in the room. Oh, God. Or when I'm doing work with my headphones on. Oh, God. Middle child. No, I'm just saying. Now, was there any part of you that thought right now, I'm always the last to know? No. Okay, good. No, I genuinely wish I would have known because I would have said, good luck. No. Knock them dead, kid. Or I would have also asked, how did it go? And speaking of that. Chris, did you ever post the video of me on my hands and knees begging L.O.B. for forgiveness? I missed that. You missed it, Jay? I missed it entirely. On Friday, we hung out here for a little bit. Jay was out of here early because I think he had a bike ride to go on. That is true. He couldn't muster it. But it was me, it was Woods, it was L.O.B., and it was Chris. And I was leaving. And I said bye to Chris because he was standing right there in front of me. I said, see you later. Or no, I didn't. No, just me. Yes, that's right. I didn't. Just your old pal, Woodsy. Woodsy and I were talking. Friends for life. And I said goodbye. Kiss him on the lips. Oh, boy. And then I left and Woods had to go to the bathroom. He walked out. I was waiting at the elevator and Woods walked up and he said, hey, you should say bye to L.O.B. And I instantly was like,
Oh, my gosh. I didn't say goodbye. She goes, oh, bye, Mike. Have a great weekend. Don't worry. I'll have a great weekend, too. Oh, my God. It was like an arrow. And I came back in here, and I literally got down on my hands and my knees, and I crawled into the studio. It's true. It's a little dramatic. And I said, please, please understand this. Please forgive me. That it was an error in judgment. I didn't, and I'm sorry. Happens every Friday. She crossed her arms. She crossed her arms. She looked at me and went, uh-huh. Well, hey, have a great weekend, Mike. Oh, boy. Oh. She will get you. She will cut you. I will. Will get you and get you good. I've got to steal my trap memory. Are you not going to share with our listeners your purchase in the Oakland airport? You're not going to just glaze over that? Do you think that's interesting? Yes! You do? Yes! You guys know everything about each other. Man. You really do. You would know. I asked you to come with us to U31 yesterday, which is when I told him the story. Correct. I didn't get a call. You were sick. You're sick. As far as we knew, you were ill. Yeah. You were down for the gadget. So you didn't even call to check on me. Are you feeling better?
Jay, are you going to... Hey, do we need to get you covered for Monday because we know you're not feeling good? I knew you were riding bikes. Oh, my gosh. Can we go get you some chicken stew? We figured there was no... They haven't made stew since 1784. It's thicker. It's called soup, and it's been called soup since the 20s. The last time it was called chicken stew, it was Davey Crockett that was not yet. Call it stew! on Progresso. I do too. Progresso chicken stew. You ain't gonna bring me some chicken goulash, Mike? That's what I would do for you. Where's my porridge, Mike? Where's my gruel? Please, sir, can I have some more? Out of my head. Alright, well. Woods thinks it's interesting. It is interesting. It is? Okay. Alright. Little cubby, y'all. All right, well, we'll tell you when we get back. And also when we get back, we will give you audio of Jimmy Kimmel and Manny Pacquiao singing a duet of How Deep Is Your Love. Yes. How great is that?

This is The Mikey Show with Mikey. When I was in high school, I never made love with a girl. Woods. That is what heaven is. In my mind. I get up to heaven and I'm like.
Oh, my God. It's a Krispy Kreme. Lauren. My butt doesn't go straight down. Sticks out. You know, junk in the trunk. In the trunk. And Jay. I tell you, Kim got me on the organic ketchup, and then I went back to the Heinz. This is The Mikey Show on FM 94.9. I'm Mikey. That's Woodsy. That's L-O-B. That's Jay. And our phone screener is Gross. That's Gross. But he is training Nicole, so if you call in, you're going to hear from Nicole. 14-year-old kid. from Oceanside has caused more than $113,000 worth of graffiti damage. Mikey, a local news source, says this kid was arrested Wednesday at his house and he's been charged with 262 felony counts. I've never had a felony, as far as you know.
Yeah, he put his name on utility boxes, signs, fences. Yeah, perfectly smart. What does dad say? Hey, dumb A, what are you thinking? His name, his address, his last four digits of his social security number. Two years ago, got arrested for the same thing. Oh, boy. What's going on in sports? Well, I'm going to give you the latest in the BCS polls and tell you about the game of the century. But first, I wanted to tell you that sports is brought to us today by Dave and Buster's Eat, Drink, Play Football. You can see the beautiful, talented LOB at Dave and Buster's tonight. Nice. She's going to be... Yeah, let's go ahead and start with that. The Chicago Bears are heading to Philly for Monday Night Football. They're going to play the Bears against the Dream Team tonight. That's not what they're called. Well, they called themselves that. I didn't make it up. One guy on the team. Yeah, yeah, yeah, but that's what they're called. They're the dream team. They're so mean. It's going to be a really good game. These are two pretty good teams that are looking to find their way. The Eagles have won two in a row after losing four games, and they are three and four on the season. Also, the much-heralded game of the century was Saturday night. It was Alabama against LSU, both undefeated. Listen.
I'm going to call a turd a turd. It was a turd. It was 9-6 was the final in overtime. It was a turd. 9-6. It was punts. It was missed field goals. And, you know, people are like, listen, dude, it was a defensive struggle. It was great. Dude, you're watching the Game of the Century. You want to see some offense. 9-6. And I watched the whole freaking thing. But, so LSU remains number one. Alabama has dropped to number three. And Stanford is in number four. Unbelievable. Oklahoma State's number two. By the way, Woods and I have been talking about this scandal that is rocking Penn State. Rocking Penn State. It's something. It was the defensive coordinator years ago? Yeah, Jerry Sandusky. That is being accused of, on 40 counts of sexual abuse to kids. Yes.
And it has absolutely rocked the sports world and also, obviously, Penn State. Joe Paterno knew about it because somebody actually saw it happening. Yeah, an assistant saw it in the locker room of the training facility. Reported it to Joe. To Joe. And then what did he do? Joe went and told the athletic director. And the big thing is that that athletic director, his name is Tim Curley. and Vice President Gary Schultz have attempted to, in a grand jury, cover this whole thing up. They have both stepped down as of this morning. They will both be arraigned this morning. Being a college football fan, you see a lot of scandals come through. The Miami scandal we talked about this year. Last year, Notre Dame, the kid died at practice. He fell off the scaffold there. And, you know, man, you see a lot of stuff in college football. This one, numero uno. I mean, by far. Biggest scandal ever, and it's as bad as it can be. That's as bad of a crime as there is. And now, and one of our M1s said this, and I think that it is fair to say, and that is, hey, listen, he hasn't been tried yet. And in this country, you're innocent until you're proven guilty. With that said, there are 40 counts, and they've put together a three-year investigation on him. Yeah, and the interesting thing about this guy, Jerry Sandusky, is that...
He ran a children's charity, so he had access to a lot of underprivileged kids. In some of the grand jury testimony, they said that Sandusky once gave one of the kids $50 to buy marijuana, drove him to purchase it, drove him home as the boys smoked the weed, also bought him a snowboard, golf clubs, hockey gear, football jerseys. Also been reported that a lot of these kids used to stay at the Sandusky's home. They had adopted six kids, fostered six kids in their home, and they had a basement area where... Just random kids would stay. And if it's true, again, it's one of the most egregious abuses of power I have ever seen in my life, and it's disgusting. Oh, man. I mean, it's as bad as it gets. I tried to read the grand jury, the whole thing, and it makes your stomach turn. It's very graphic and very, very sad and disgusting. Okay. Now. This is audio of Manny Pacquiao, which you know Manny Pacquiao is, he's tried his hand at singing. He really has. And he actually has an album out, Manny Pacquiao. Who is Manny Pacquiao? Philippine, he's from the Philippines. He's an incredible boxer. In fact, many say that pound for pound, Manny Pacquiao is the best boxer.
In America. In the world. In the world. Now, this is at one of his matches. Finished the match, won the match, and treated the audience, this was years ago, treated the audience to his rendition of... Oh! Honest is too much. Honest is too much. Daisy. Okay. There he goes. That's Manny. Yikes. And so now I'm going to play you Manny Pacquiao doing a duet with Jimmy Kimmel. And this duet is to the song How Deep Is Your Love? Originally done by the Bee Gees. Great song. Okay. Let's see. Here we go.
Oh wow. Oh boy. Oh! Identical berry gift. Identical berry gift. Identical berry gift. Great harmony. Oh, my God. Yeah, it sounded like Crosby, Stills, and Nash. Oh, my God. Oh, wow, wow. It reminds me of something. You want to take it from the top? Let's try it. Mark Wahlberg and Boogie Nights. Oh, my God. Oh, uh-oh. Work it out. Work it out. Figure it out.
I think we should repeat that again. Good idea. Yeah, yeah. Totally. Yeah, it's definitely cool. Let's lay it down. Yeah. Nick, were you rolling on the rehearsal? Oh, man. Were you rolling on the rehearsal because... I hope we didn't waste that take. It's not going to get much better. Yeah, I mean, there was a lot of magic in there. First time they ever played it, and they're going to lay it down. That's right. Fantastic. This email says, email. And you can call us, by the way, to discuss. 570-1949. Hey, Mikey, my dad always likes to get my kids the big gift. Kind of shows me up for the kids. Birthdays and Christmas. Don't get me wrong.
I'd never step on his generosity. Shouldn't he ask me first? I want to be the hero for once in a while. I want to be the hero once in a while. M1 chick chick. I can't relate to this. Even a tiny, even little... You can't? No. Which part? The part of the selfishness that... It's about you more than it is the kid. No, no. It's my son or my daughter. You need to ask me if you're going to buy him a high dollar present. No, I need to ask you if I'm going to buy him a...
Pistol. Other than that. That's not true. That's not true. I need to ask you if I'm going to get him a subscription of Playboy. Crossbow. You have to ask regardless. You should be asking. If it's a high dollar purchase or a big intrusive purchase, you should be asking. Drums. I can see a drum set. Drums. Playhouse. Not a ask. Maybe a heads up. No. Heads up. Permission. You should ask, especially when they're that young, because what if... You're both getting the Elmo doll is big this year. If you both get it and Grandpa gives it first. I'm just going to surprise you. I'm getting him a trampoline. Awesome. I'm not going to tell Rebecca. We're just going to show up with it. Heads up. No. That's what I said. I said heads up. That means you can veto it. No, no, no. What if she tells me no? The only reason I say heads up is because what if I'm already getting it and I go, oh, dude. We already got it. We're getting it. That happened with you and I. That's fine. I was going to get Jake an accordion, and you're like, dude, I already got him. Yeah. I'm like, oh, okay. We already got it. So I got him something else. Why did you do that, though? Why did I do what? Why did you give Mike the heads up? Because the heads up is proper. I didn't ask him permission. No. The heads up is the same thing. And, by the way, and, by the way. This is semantics. No, no, no, no. No, I told him. My heads up is asking permission. Check it out. That was Jake's numerous. He didn't want anything else. Right, yeah. The only thing he wanted in life.
was an accordion. That should come from his parents. Try it on me, Mikey. Try it on me. Please. Okay, okay. Jay, hey man, I just want to give you a heads up. I know Jasper's birthday's coming up and I got him a Huffy bicycle because I know he was looking for it. Man, I don't have any room in the garage. Okay. So there you are. You asked me permission. Okay. That's basically what you just did. Okay. What about, I got Jasper the Huffy bicycle. Well, yeah. I mean, why do you have to? Is it true that you don't have room in the garage? He already has a really nice bike. Well, why not say that? Well, why not say that? Well, I would, but I mean, I was not telling the truth. He was giving a hypothetical. I was giving a hypothetical. I mean, and that's fair. If I don't want it, I'm just going to find a way not to have you get it for him. You mean you're going to lie? You don't have to lie. What if you don't want it, or what if also... You're getting that for him. Or he already has something similar. And again, that's what I said. He'd be happy with something around $20 would be great. Oh, boy. Oh, boy. Oh, wow. Let me write down the rules. Try it on me with my fake son. Jay or me? Me. You try it on me. LLB? Uh-huh. Your son is turning eight? Yes. And I know that he had his eye on guitar, on the...
That guitar. The baby Taylor. The baby Taylor. Oh, wow. Yeah. And so I was going to get it for him. Oh, well, we were going to maybe ask Santa for that. Oh, OK. Christmas. So I don't. That's very generous of you guys. Well, it doesn't look generous. You're furrowing your eyebrows for generosity. We don't like to get the kids too big of a gift for their birthday. The smaller things, big purchase stuff, we let Santa get that. Fair enough. Hey, fair enough. Listen, I'm not going to get in the way of any parenting. You know what I mean? Seriously. Nobody's going to get in the way of any parenting. But that's what he says in the email. But the grandfather is. I am in favor of a heads up, but I'm not in favor of a permission. It's the same. It's the same thing. It may be the same freaking thing. It is. All right, fine. It may be just a different way of saying, hey, is it okay that I get him, that baby Taylor? Heads up. When you walk in the door, especially when you walk in the door, it's like, it's my son. You had your chance with me. Now it's my son.
I want to raise him like I want him. The kid gets a shaft. And you get to decide. Yes, who loses? The son. You get to decide how expensive and nice of things you want him to have, how spoiled you want him to be. I mean, I think that's right. Well, I'm going to spoil the crap out of my nephew. And so I guess my brother's going to be like, hey, dude, enough with the surfboards. Yeah, we don't want him to have anything nice. Well, I spoil the crap out of my niece. But for the bigger, like the thing that I got her for Christmas, I told my sister. A month ago when I got her. Did you do this? Did you go, I just want to know if I have your permission to get my niece. I didn't say it in those words. Please, of course. I said, is it okay if I get her? I'm not going to say it just in case she's listening. Is it okay if I get her this? She's very young. Oh, trust me. The word? If I say the word? Spell it. E-L-M-O. Oh, yeah, yeah. If I, yeah. And I said, I just want to make sure. Is that okay? Were you guys planning on getting that? She said, no, we're getting her T-R-A-I-N-S-E-T. Yeah. So I said, okay, good. By the way, as a parent, I have learned how to, if you had talked to me seven years ago, I would have had to go, can you spell that again? Write it down. Show it to me. But because of that, now Rebecca has to spell a bunch of stuff. Oh. My mom used to be like...
And I'd be like, what? What? She tried to say it, like, to not let my little brother know something. It's parent language. Way too fast. My parents' parent language sounded like this. So, yeah, I guess I am saying the same thing. I just, I think that it, okay. I just crystallized my thought. I think the thought is, if you're not getting it for the kid, okay, fine, I'll give you this. You ask for permission. If you're not getting it for the kid already, then I think you're a monster if you say to the person, no, you can't get that. Please, the kid is losing because you don't want to have your little, your witty-bitty feelings hurt? It could be any number of things. It could be a number of things. You don't want, you have space for it, you don't. That I understand. Those are what I call extenuating circumstances. And if there is extenuating circumstances, i.e., we're trying to provide a different kind of moral attitude towards big gifts, that I get. I understand if you don't have room for a gigantic trampoline. But if it's about this.
I want to be the hero once in a while. So be the hero. Let me paint this picture. Go ahead. They have rich parents. But his whole life, the guy's decided, I'm not going to take handouts from my dad. I'm going to work for it. Right now, all I'm making is 30K. I got three kids. I'm doing the best that I can. And what I have decided for little Ryan this year is we're going to get him this really cool train. And it does things. You push this button. You push that button. And you've been saving up. You've been eyeing it up. You saw that he saw it in the store. You're like, this is going to be it. It's going to make his Christmas. Right. Dad comes in and he's like, we're going to get the train set. Kid doesn't care about the train anymore. And you're like, great. Well. Great. Here's the way that I would look at it. I would look at it like this. Man. Without Pops. That kid ain't going to have a train set. And this Christmas, he's going to. Well, this Christmas, but not every Christmas. That's what he's saying. I mean, he's saying once in a while, I want to be. He says his dad shows him up every time. Well, I get it. I mean, I understand, but I couldn't disagree more. Woodsy, where are you on this? You know, I've got pretty generous parents. Actually, I've got very generous parents. And there'll be some of that, I'm sure, if we ever have a kid. I'm sure, you know.
There's always competition among the grandparents when there's a kid. And I think that there will be definitely some of that going on. And I won't mind. I mean, at the end of the day, knowing me and how I am, my kids are going to be pretty spoiled, I'd imagine. What if he's saying no and you're like, no, because I want to be the hero. And your parents, their grandparents, kids' grandparents go, okay, sure. Then we'll get... Savings bonds. Yeah. You know what we'll do? We'll get something small. We'll get an ELMO for him. Yeah. Which is still good. It's not making the kid suffer. No, but don't you feel bad that the kid is going to miss out on a trampoline you can fit? Like, you're saying no to that trampoline. For you. Selfishly. Yeah. For your reasons. So that your feelings are spared. Yes. You are going to forfeit. Your pride is spared. Yes. Your pride. Your pride. Your motive is going to forfeit the kids' happiness. I wouldn't. I would let my pride sit aside, but inside I'd be like, gosh. I mean, every time. I never come out like.
the winner with my kids, and my kids think I'm just some sort of schlump that doesn't make any money and can't provide for them. I think it's the way, and also you have to, you pitch it to your kids, like, look how freaking awesome your grandparents are, and you get excited about it. And that's what my thought was. Now, when she said that, when Ella B. said that, I had to really think about it, because I was like, man, would, I mean, would they? Would the kids, would the kids actually think to themselves, and she's got me thinking, would the kids think to themselves, Man, wish Dad could afford that. Yeah, wish Dad could step up to the plate. Maybe. I wonder. I don't know. That even beats Santa Claus, though. Santa Claus, I mean, he doesn't even bring that big of stuff most of the time. Sometimes Santa does. But if you know that Santa's not, you know, say you had a talk with Santa, and you know what Santa's bringing this year, and then Grandpa's going to bring the bigger gift than even Santa. It's like...
Wow, why do we even care about Santa coming anymore? Well, we should have Grandpa talk to Santa, and then they can work that out. Grandpa can talk to Santa. Yeah, Grandpa knows Santa. Let me tell you this. Santa, I think, would be happy. That child is happy. Well, I'll tell you what. Santa has been dealing with Grandpa longer than he's been dealing with you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They've been dealing with Santa for a long time. Let's still say Grandpa has to ask me. I think there's every once in a while where Grandpa and Grandma don't. really have to ask because that's what grandparents are for. Thank you, L.O.B. But if it's a pattern of every time you're the ba-ba-da-da, I come through with this gift. Happy birthday. How about a trust fund for the kid, Grandpa? Let's make sure that he's got college money. Boring. Yeah, because... No, it's not boring. Trust me. You know why, Grandpa? Very lucrative. You know why, Grandpa? Because if you don't do that, then my feelings... Yes. No, I'd rather prepare for the future than little Johnny being able to play with it. Would it? Bicycle. Let's be real. Or a trampoline. My grandma Woods and grandpa Woods gave me savings bonds one time for Christmas, and my brother and I both. Cool, man. Thank you. Yeah, you don't really understand it. Hey, I get 50 bucks in 2006, so we'll look forward to that. It's only 14 years away. They were awesome, but, you know, I mean, listen, kids like toys. That's true. That is a true fact.

It might seem hard to lead a healthy life today, but it's easy when you practice the ancient art of on-the-side-ism. Let's start with salad. Just have the ranch, the Roquefort, the Italian, or the Thousand Island on the side. Put the mayo on the side of your turkey sandwich. And leave the butter and sour cream as optional equipment on your baked potato. On the side-ism fears no sassy waitress, snooty chef, or emasculating comment from a friend. And it isn't just a way around the menu, it's a way of life. It's a towel. So go ahead, work those long hours at the office, but make sure to have some playing with the kids on the side.
For every hour you're stuck in traffic, make sure you have a minute of bike riding on the side. Zone out in front of the TV, but go out dancing on the side. It's an easy ideal to practice, but at Kaiser Permanente, we think this mantra of moderation can have big-time results on the way you look, the way you feel, and the way you thrive. Might want to have a warm cup of that this morning because it's pretty chilly out there. Passy cold front, leaving behind some clearing skies and some offshore winds. and that's putting the offshore texture on some broken up lines, west-northwest and southwest swell combination. A little bit up from yesterday, not by much, primarily out of that west-northwest direction. Looking at waves running in that waist-the-chest high zone, the occasional plus, top spot, seeing a few shoulder-high plus set waves on occasion. Again, we're looking at a high tide this morning, really slowing things down, five-foot-plus high tide right around now, as a matter of fact.

Everyone considered him Howard of the county. It never stood one single time to prove the case. If you are in your 30s or 40s and you had parents, then you're probably familiar with this song. My mom loved hers and Kenny. Mine too. Mine too. I think all moms secretly had a fixation on KR. They love that beard real good. Yeah, they did. Guess what my first karaoke song ever was? What? The Gambler. Was it really? Rebecca believes that the song Lady is the most romantic song ever written.
It's creepy. It's not. It was Jamie's mom and stepdad's wedding song. So every time we hear it, we always sing it. Well, she thinks that what he's saying to the lady is amongst the most romantic things ever said. It is. L.O.B., why is your heart so... It's very melancholy. Yeah, why is your heart so callously callous? There's something about not maybe the words, but the music that's very melancholy. Lady. The piano that... I bet he didn't write it. Zero percent. I bet it was Lionel Richie. Identical Lionel. That would not fly today. This song is a freaking great song. You know what I loved about the 70s and 80s? These dudes were unabashed in their, like...
Sappy. Sappiness. Yes. Feminine side. Yeah. It's coming back. You know what else I heard is coming back? I heard it this morning. I heard that members-only jackets are being sold in high-end retail stores. I have one. My Amelia Earhart jacket is a members-only jacket. Is it really? Yes. Stand up, by the way. This bit? Her pants? No, maybe they're not the ones I'm thinking. No, these are exercise pants. Okay, because... I've been seeing girls wearing like the business pants with T-shirts. That's like a bit. You know, like the business pants that have the strap, you know, the, I don't know what that thing's called. The clip. The clip. I haven't seen that. Dude, I saw it three times this weekend. Wow. I'm going to wear that tomorrow. Yeah, that's the look. They do the business, like the gray women's business pants and a T-shirt. I'm doing that tomorrow. And it's oddly sexy. For so many. It's weird. Get ready for me to bring the sexy, I guess. Oh, wow. There you go. By the way, Lindsay Lohan, she got sent to jail last week, 30 days. And she did, in fact, serve four and a half hours of that. Wow. I think she learned her lesson. I'm sure. No more drink or drugs for her or stealing. She didn't want to spend four and a half hours.
Yeah. In a private holding tank. Right. I was in the Oakland airport longer than she was in jail. The golf tournament I'm playing in today will take longer. Well, twice. Yeah, almost twice. Twice. The people that were stuck on the runway in Connecticut, twice as long. Yes. And they were treated worse. Yes. Most Thanksgiving dinners. Oh, yeah. take place longer than Lindsay Lohan was in jail. The Chargers football game was almost like a jail sentence. That's about half the time it takes me to make love to my wife. That's true, Jeff. Four and a half hours. About half the time. About a third. A third of the time. One third of the time. Usually 12, 13 hours. Oh, man. We get it done. That's great. For starters. And I know a lot of people will disagree with this, but I still find Lindsay Lohan to be a very lovely girl. Except for... Her teeth. She got them fixed. She got them fixed. She looks great. Yeah, she's smoking. I don't think lovely is the word you can use. No, but hot. I think she's beautiful. Hot, I think. Jay, we'll be checking out her Playboy pictorial. Oh, yeah. She had to redo it. That creeped me out. Hugh Hefner was not happy with her photos. She had to redo it. She had to redo her thing. Why? Probably because of her hideous teeth. Oh, she got her teeth. Or maybe her saggy, you know. Come on. She's only 20 or something. She can't have saggy.
25. Gravity does not occur at 25. Years of not wearing a bra and just flopping them around. That's not true. I would know because I haven't worn a bra and mine are still perky. Yeah, they're perky. Yeah. All right, they're not. They're not knee shooters yet. All right, they're not. Bananas. Okay, everyone, Sticky Fingers from San Diego, how are you? How about you guys? We're good. We're good. We're great. Are you ready to play? You're going to be representing yourself. And, Jay, what is the prize? Today's prize is a pair of tickets to the 2011 Body Art Expo, the largest tattoo and body art expo going on November 18th through the 20th at San Diego Concourse. There you go. Okay. Here's the goal. You're going to be listening to LOB out and about. She was at a bar. You don't have to say which one. I wasn't at it.
You were not at a bar. No. I went to the Brewers Guild Festival, which is where FM 949 was. So if you missed the show, you can hear some of the music in the background. There you go. So there you go. Like Jay. You'll be able to hear it. Here you go, Jay. Now, here's how we play. It is me, Jay Woods, and M1 Sticky Fingers playing for himself. And what we'll do is we will listen to the questions that she asked the individual. We will try to figure out. at what level of inebriation they may be at, and at that point try to take a guess at how they'll answer, if they'll get the answer correct. Let's listen to the first person LOB talked to. What is your name? My name is, you want first and last? My name is John Lawless. And John, how old are you? I'm 41. Wow, you look younger than 41. Thank you. And how many beers have you had today?
I have not counted. I started at 11 o'clock, so I've had like maybe anywhere from 15 to 20. Oh, my. Now, these weren't regular size. They weren't like 12 ounces. They were smaller. Thimbles. They were small glasses of beer. But there was a point in there where I heard a little heavy tongue. They're larger than a shot glass of beer. About two shots. Yeah, about two shots. And they are very high. Okay. Yes. Higher alcohol content than usually like a domestic. Got it. Here's the first question for this gentleman. The Republican currently running for president that was once the CEO of Godfather's Pizza. The answer is Herman Cain. Now we must wager, will he get that correct? I believe he will. Jay? He will not. Woods. He will. M1 Sticky Fingers. I think he'll get it. All right. Three of us believe he will. Jay says he will not. The answer? Daniel Radcliffe. Oh, wow. That's not the right one. Nope. Is it matched up wrong? No. That's right there. Oh, no. Should I hit that? That's a good question. Daniel Radcliffe. Uh-oh. Well, oh, no. Oh, gosh. L.O.B., do you remember? If he got it, do you remember? Yes, he did, but all those are wrong. They are? Yeah.
They're all going to be the female answers because we had to reload this morning. Do you want me to have Chris try to work on that real quick? Can he? Yes, maybe we should move to the female. Yeah, we can do that. All right, let's do the female. We'll start with the female. Sounds good. All right, we're going to start with the female. Here she is. Jenny. I am 26. And how many drinks have you had today? So many. Seven, eight? I don't know. No, just right. Oh, boy. Fifteen. Fifteen? Okay. Now, she does not, at least to me, sounds like she's had a couple, but, you know. She sounds like a very bubbly, gregarious person. Yeah. Yeah. That's what I would say. All right. First question for Jenny. Who plays Harry Potter in the Harry Potter series? All right. Well, we already know. It's Daniel Radcliffe. Yes.
She guessed that right. And she guessed it right. We know it. All right. Question two. What was the last state to join the union? Oh, boy. Last state to join the union was Hawaii. Jay, will she get that correct? No way. No chance. No chance. Sticky fingers. I really don't think she can get that. I believe that, unless I'm just way off, I think that's pretty easy. I'll say she'll get it. Hawaii? Yeah! Son of a... Darn, that little smart minx. All right, here we go. Question number three for Jenny. What is the name of the biggest stock car racing organization in the U.S.? The answer is NASCAR. Woods. Will she get that right? No. M1, Sticky Fingers. Yeah, I think she will. I say she will not. Jay. I, too, say she will not.
So we got two yeses, two no's? Three no's. Three no's, one yes. Here we go. Oh, my gosh. Dang it. Sticky fingers in the house. Gosh, darn it. Got that right. Gosh, darn it that chick knows some stuff. She's smart. Let's see. Okay. So let's do a third one for her. Name the faces on Mount Rushmore. The faces are as follows. You know, Woodsy. I don't. Abe Lincoln, you got. FDR? Right. No. No. You got Abe Lincoln, George Washington. You got, of course you got freaking... That's right. You got Nixon. No. No idea. Gerald Ford. George Washington. Clinton, I think, is on there. It's George Washington. Right. Thomas Jefferson. Oh, yeah, that guy. Now, here's the tough one. Theodore Roosevelt. Yeah, you said FDR. You said FDR. Other Roosevelt. TR. TR. And Abe Lincoln.
Now, I would think to myself, I don't even want to say, I'll give you my logic after we ask Sticky Fingers what he thinks. What do you think, Sticky Fingers? Will she know? What's that? I don't think so. You don't? I don't think she will either because Woods is one of the smartest guys that I know and he was clueless. Baffled. So I say no way. Jay? I'm going to say yes, she will know. It's a good strategy. And Woods has already said no way. Washington? That qualifies. Oh, so close. She was close. She was close. Holy cow. Alright, so who was, was anybody right there? Well, right now... I was. Yes, you were, and so was Sticky Fingers. So, right now, Mikey and Sticky Fingers are tied for the lead. Okay.
Chris is working on. And Chris is working on it. I think we've got it. I'm reloading right now. Okay, cool. It's all right. Oh, there we go. Here we go. All right. All right. Question numero uno for John. This is a Republican currently running for president that was once the CEO of Godfather's Pizza. The answer is Herman Cain. Yeah. And that guy, he sounded a little tipsy. I was initially going to say he knows. I'm going to change my answer to he doesn't know. Jay. I still say he doesn't know. Woods. I say he does know. Sticky fingers. Yeah, I think he knows it. Okay. And his answer was? Kane. Gosh darn it. Look at you. I'm falling to pieces here. So am I. Gosh darn it. Go with your gut. I got to go with my gut. What? Oh, wow. Question number two for this guy, John. Who is the Libya leader who was recently killed during protests in his country? Jay, will he know that? It is Muammar Gaddafi. Absolutely.
Yeah, he's my boy, Muammar Gaddafi. Yeah, your boy, Muammar. Yeah, he'll know it. Sticky fingers? Yeah, I'd like to think he'd know that. All right, fine. I'll use my strategy and say he does not know. Muammar Gaddafi. Muammar Gaddafi. What was that? That qualifies, isn't it? Muammar Gaddafi. What? Muammar Gaddafi. Muammar Gaddafi. Muammar Gaddafi. Muammar Gaddafi. I am not doing well. Where are we in the scoring here? Right now, Sticky Fingers is in the lead. Look at you. Look at you, Sticky. With five points, Woods right behind him. Then Mike, then Jay's only got... One right. Two more questions left. Here is question number three. Did the Chargers win or lose their last game? Now, that was the game before this weekend. Yes, because I asked him on Saturday. She asked on Saturday. She did this on Saturday. So the Monday night game against the Chiefs. And they lost. They did. So... Weird. Woods, will he know? Will John know if they won or lost? You've got to really decide. Is this dude a sports fan? No, he doesn't know. M1 Sticky Fingers? Yeah, I think you'll know it. He appears to be up on the news. I say, no, I'm going with my gut. He doesn't know. I'm going to go with my gut. Jay? He knows. The answer is? Really? Really?
My best friend is a Chiefs fan, so they lost. Boo! Of course. He knew. Even I know. Did you? I shouldn't have gone with my guts. Yes. Shut it. How many times have we said that? Do we have a winner? We do. Sticky Fingers is the winner. Look at you. Look at you. Sticky Fingers, you did it! Get some, my man. There's one more question, then. I find hilarious. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You are already a winner, but hang on the line. Let's hear what the last question, the tiebreaker question that she had asked John was. What Hollywood starlet was recently sentenced to 30 days in jail? We just gave the answer. She only served four and a half hours. But it was Lindsay Lohan. Will he know he knows sports? He knows world news. World news. He's got it. He knows. I say he knows. Let's see. Sticky Fingers. Let's see. He's on hold. Put him on hold. Yeah, put him on hold. Sticky Fingers, did you hear the question that was asked? I did not hear the question. The question that we asked him was, what Hollywood starlet was recently sentenced to 30 days in jail? The answer is Lindsay Lohan. Do you think he'll know? Yeah, he'll know that. I love it. Double or nothing? Oh, boy. No.
I say he will not know. He will not know. Wow. He will know. All right. And his answer was? Oh, wow. Can you say it one more time so I can play it on the radio? Lindsay Lohan. Wow. He said Lindsay, MF, and Lohan. Oh, wow. The first time. Wow. Strong. Strong take. I didn't have a bleep, so I had to cut it out. Oh, wow. Strong take. Yeah, very strong take. Guy knows his stuff. Yeah, smart dude. On top of it. Yep, hang on the line. I get some pretty smart people out there. Yeah. I guess it just goes to show we have pretty smart listeners. Yeah, we do. That is a true statement. That is a true statement. Let's see. Jay. Yes, sir. Wants to tell the world about something that he found. It's the coolest thing I've discovered lately. What is it called? Sonos. It's a... It's a speaker system for your house. Like, I wired my house. I took the time, and I ran all the stereo wire through the house. Right? No need. Why? Because it's a stereo system that goes through your Wi-Fi connection. So basically, whatever Wi-Fi you already have going, you just buy these little speakers, and they plug in. They plug into your electrical, and it just connects right up to your Wi-Fi. And you can turn on zones in your room.
And you can turn them off. And they just have real small ones. And then they have big booming ones. Like if you want to take outside, but you can take it anywhere you go. No wires, no nothing. It just connects right to the Wi-Fi. Woodsy, does that do nothing for you? No, it gets me. Does it? Yeah. It gets me good. You like it? Hell yeah. I went over to my friend's house. Because one of my wires shorted out in the wall, weird. And I was like, damn, how do you rerun wire? You're done. That dude. That is the future. No question. Yeah, it gets me. Unless your wireless connection cuts out, because if we had speakers in here, I'd be like... But my home doesn't do that, so... Neither does mine. Hey, I mean, I'm not even supposed to... I'm not... I don't have to talk about this right now, but I'm going to, because we're doing a campaign for AT&T, and when I saw the thing this weekend, like what I was going to be talking about, I was like, no kidding. Do you know they do a thing now? Where they do wireless. They do like a wireless box. So you can now take your TV outside. Oh, yeah. Plug the box in. And it's exclusive. Nobody else has it. Wow. I know. What? Yeah, dude. A freaking Super Bowl party? Yes. Just run one out there. You don't have to run cable? Nothing. That's insane. How about by the swimming pool? If there's a power outlet, you plug it in. You have it. And you watch it wherever. You put it in the kitchen.
Bring it in the bathroom with you. Bring it in the bathroom. Just plug it in. Anywhere you want to go. Anywhere you want. Take it in the bathtub with you, Mikey. Oh, wow. That seemed aggressive. What? Attempted murder. First degree. Maybe you didn't know that you could do that. What a fabulous idea. Well, it's not. It's not. You died. I'd get shocked. The other cool thing is you can control all the speakers in your entire house just from your iPhone or your iPad. Oh. It's too bad you don't have an iPhone. And your Android as well. There you go. I can do that now. They have an app called Remote. Fancy. I'm so freaking far behind in technology. It's not even funny. How come you don't like technology? I do. It's expensive. I don't need... It isn't always. Yeah, it is. No, it isn't, Woodsy. No, it isn't. Yeah, it is. Depends on what you get. I'd rather spend my money on Copenhagen Long Cut, my friend. I know that's a true fact. Maybe don't tip 20%. 25%. Yeah, it's now 25. Well, I tip 25. Well, and that's the actual amount that it's changed to. It's not 20% anymore. It's not. You're not tipping 25%. It is not. You're a monster. That's just an upscale restaurant. No, you're a monster. You are a monster. It says it. I don't go to places nice enough. It says. Where'd you read it? It.org. It.ca.
Woods saw me do it this morning. I read this headline about what the new trend in China is and laughed out loud. And not quite, I mean loud. I laughed out loud. And I'll tell you what it is. Woods. I smoke a pack a day. You're going to live longer, pal. And Jay. I'm wearing Dockers right now. On FM 94.9. Oh, that's some good stuff. Oh, yeah. Mike Reno. Curly mullet. Yeah, just wearing red leather. A red leather one piece. So bad. He'd be arrested today. Oh, yeah. For sex perversion. Sex pervertedness. That was his invention, by the way. What's that? The one-piece leather red suit that zipped up from the crotch all the way up to the top. Nothing like red leather to keep you real comfortable. Especially when you're in concert in Austin in the middle of August. In an amphitheater. I shouldn't wear that on the golf course today. Red leather outfit. That's great. By the way.
I wanted to let you know that a Los Angeles food distributor is recalling frozen oysters from South Korea. Oysters. Yep. What are they? Oysters. Oysters. Oysters. Oysters. I don't hear the difference. Oysters. Oysters. Oysters. Oysters. Oysters. Oysters. It's even wrong when you say it. I gather the news, and I saw a story about oysters, which I couldn't care less about, but I said, oh, that's got to go in there. Oysters. Yes. What are they, Jay? Oysters. That's correct. Is that closer? Not at all. Oysters. Not closer. Woodsy, what's going on in sports? I'm going to give you some football scores real quick. The Houston Texans beat up on the Browns 30-12. The Saints 27-16 over the Bucs. Falcons 31-7 over the still winless Colts 0-9. The Dolphins got their first win of the year. They beat the Kansas City Chiefs 31-3. Mark Sanchez and the Jets took care of the Bills 27-11. The Niners 7-1.
Beat the Redskins 19-11. The Dallas Cowboys over the Seattle Seahawks 23-13. The Cincinnati Bengals, dude, are 6-2 with a rookie quarterback named Andy Dalton. He threw three touchdowns yesterday. They won 24-17. Broncos 38, Raiders 24. Giants over the Patriots. Eli Manning let them down on a game-winning drive 24-20. Cardinals 19, Rams 13. In New England. In New England. Ravens 23-20. They've beaten the Steelers twice this year. Unbelievable. M1 Robert from National City. What was the word of the day? That is correct. Dude, you just got yourself some lift tickets to Mammoth Mountain. You're going to see Black Lips and Ra Ra Riot up there. And that is on the 12th. It's a Saturday of this month. Congratulations, dude. Thank you. Hang on the line. When I read this, I laughed out loud. There is, in fact, a new fad in China. Couples wearing identical outfits. You mean twins? No, Woods. You mean like your twin boys? Nope. What I mean is lovers. I mean partners. I mean boyfriend and girlfriend. The new bit is that they wear identical outfits.
Outfits. Sometimes that happens by accident if you've been together for a long time. You've worn the same outfit as your boyfriend? Well, it usually happens to those older couples. Like, we had a girl that I ran track with. Her parents would come to every single meet, and no matter what they were wearing, it was like the exact same outfit. Oh, wow. But I did. Matt and I were both wearing a white shirt with blue jeans on Saturday night. T-shirts? No. His was a... It was like a button down and then the sleeves roll up. We both had the rolled up sleeves with the fastener thing. I'd change. Yeah. We didn't know until we were already out. Oh, gosh. We didn't even realize it because we were just that connected. I would tell everyone that I came in contact with. I didn't plan this with her. Oh, yeah. It would make me crazy all night. It would make me insane. I'd say we're stopping by. I don't care where we stop. Go to Target and grab a sweatshirt. Yeah. But I'm getting something to cover this up because I'm not going to wear the same outfit.
Even Jay would buy a shirt covered up because he doesn't want to look ridiculous. We had a pink scarf. I felt like that kind of spoke for it. My mom, for one Christmas, bought my girlfriend and I the same sweatsuit. No way. And she wanted to see it on us. Oh, no. She demanded that we change. Do you have pictures? I hope not. What did it look like? It was gray, but it had this felt liner thing inside of it. Velour. It was like a velour, yeah. I wonder what her thought was. Was it like, they will look so cute. Yeah. That's what she said. That's exactly it. You're going to look so cute. I'm like, Mom! Mom! Oh, my gosh. We're in a freaking velour tracksuit. Listen, guys and girls, we couldn't be more different. Like, I bet every chick listening right now is thinking, they're not, I'm going to take a guess, and I'm going to ask Ella B. But my guess is, I don't think that women think, oh, you should do that. I don't think that women think that. No. I just think that women go, oh gosh, it's not that big a deal. I think women think that. It's no big deal. Relax. Whereas I believe every single guy, and I mean every guy, with the exception of none. Chinese. Exception of Chinese. Exception of Chinese guys. Who, by the way, find it to be
outrageously cool to dress just like their mate. I don't think it's cool. Okay, you don't think it's cool. I'm not saying that you think it's cool. What I'm saying is that if it happens on accident like it did with you and BFMC, it's not the end of the world and who cares? It's not that big a deal. Right. And what I'm saying is every dude, every single dude goes, oh yeah, that ain't happening. He didn't care. That it happened by accident. He didn't care. It made me nuts. It made me nuts. All right. So there's one guy. And about a billion Chinese people. Chinese guys. Yes. Yeah. All right. A billion Chinese and Matt. Okay. Your boy. 99.9% of guys would go, I am not wearing this. Would you care, Jay, if you showed up? By accident, both wearing the same thing. And you're wearing matching outfits with Kim? Absolutely, I would care. What? If it was identical, it would look like... Well, identical. Kim doesn't wear airwalks. If I showed up somewhere in a white button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up and a pair of jeans, and I meet Rebecca at a party, and she's wearing jeans and a white button-down with the sleeves rolled up, I will ask...
the person that lives at the home if I can take a look at their clothing. Right. Borrow a windbreaker or something. What? Borrow a windbreaker. You guys are crazy. That's part of the reason that those beach pictures skeeve me out. Oh, yeah. With everybody in the khakis and the white shirt, the whole family dressed alike. I'm like, what are you, why are you guys dressed all the same? Yeah. That's lame. It's ridiculous. That's okay with me. It's not for me. Oh, so lame. I'm all right with it. Not me. I'm not, what I am not okay with is... Husband and wife, boyfriend and girlfriend, we've decided. We've given up. Well, what we've decided is that we do everything together and we are of one mind. No, it just happens. You're on the same wavelength. Not there in China, dude. They're planning that. Yes, they are. And they are ready to rock. They are planning that. Yeah, they are. We're going to blow their minds when they're all just the same. That's lame. We are going to cute you out. We get the same blouse. Yeah. You're going to be so full of cute. It's like Mark and Mindy. Yes, Mark and freaking Mindy. Let's see. Oh, we came up with this last week. Do beautiful people have it easier? Undeniably, yes. There is absolutely no question. If a man is applying for a management position,
And he has the exact level of experience as his counterpart. Only he's not attractive and his counterpart is very attractive. The good looking one is getting the job no matter what, without exception. No question. I don't think the same applies for women. Worse. It's more. It's more. I agree with you. Only if it's like a customer facing sales position. Otherwise, they think if you're attractive, you're not smart. Maybe she's right. All I can speak to is recruiting. And the hotter the girl that we sent in, the better chance they had of getting hired. She's saying sales. No, I know. That's all I can speak to is the sales. Wait, wait, wait, though. I was tracking with you there. But then I thought, well, wait a minute. What if I'm the guy hiring and I've got two resumes in front of me and you guys have the exact level?
Because then I'm not thinking, you know, one's dumb. I'm thinking to myself, well, they got this. You're probably thinking, ah, she slept with her professor. Oh, wow. All I know is when I first started working in the workforce, I worked for a software company. I had to go to networking events and talk to smart engineers and people that had computer science backgrounds and stuff like that. If I went. The way that I was used to getting ready, which was hair down, makeup on, everything. No one wanted to talk to me about software or anything like that. It was, do you have a boyfriend? Can you unbutton your shirt? Oh, God. Stuff like that. Did you sell the stuff? In a way. It was a very long-term sales cycle. In a way. But it was a... They weren't going to buy it from me because I was cute because you're dealing with hundreds of thousands of dollars. So you weren't just going to, like, I wasn't going to bat my eyelashes and they were going to buy it. They actually wanted to know, okay, like, why am I going to buy it from you because you're going to screw up my product if not. But when I went with no makeup, hair in a bun, glasses on, all of a sudden. Really? All of a sudden. People took me seriously. But L.O.B. Yeah, because when L.O.B. doesn't wear makeup. Oh, hideous, right? Right. Just disgusting.
You can't even begin to... You can't imagine what it's like to be hideous. Right. Oh, I can. No, you can't. I've seen some pictures. You? No, we all take fat pictures. I mean, I look like a fat pig in most of my pictures. But I know when I walk in in a suit and I'm all perfect hair cut it up, I'm going to get that. What do you have makeup on wise right now? You got a little... I have nothing on. Nothing. She looks beautiful. Yeah. Wow. That's my experience. And also when I had giant boobs on Halloween, I got a lot more attention. True statement. possible drink offers and sex offers. Sex offers? Yeah. Sex offers? Yeah. Hi, would you like to do it? I'd like to make sex to you. Hi. M1 Tiffany from San Diego. Why are you calling to say? Hi. Is this true? I think it is. Yeah. You get more attention because you are a looker? I got my job for the way I look. So... I got the call for the interview from a guy named Dan. He said, meet me here at 2 o'clock for the interview. You're going to interview with me. My name's Dan. And I said, oh, God, it's a guy. I got this. And let me tell you, I had no experience on my resume for what I went in for. And I got the job. And boom goes the dynamite. Of course you did.
I wore a dress, I wore a push-up bra, I wore four-inch heels, and I got the job. Good for you. You're a monster, L.O.B. Lauren O'Brien, the person got a job. You can't deny it. You can't slight somebody for getting work. Set us back. Hey, listen, the old saying is, if you got it, flaunt it. Yeah, sure. Why is it bad? Well, it is bad. It's not bad. She shouldn't feel ashamed of how she looks. No, no, she shouldn't. But what the guy should be ashamed of is that he hired somebody based on appearance rather than content. It set us back, not you guys. It set men back. Men are disgusting. Well, then the next girl is expected to wear a low-cut dress and four-inch heels to an interview. You can say what you want. I recruited salespeople for years, and if this girl is in sales, which it sounds like she may be, you're more willing to take a chance on somebody that is better looking because when she walks into a business, chances she closes that deal are better than a girl that's a deuce and a half walking in there. It's just the way it is. Use what you have. Work the other way with me. If you have brains, you can use them too. If you came dressed to work in promotions in Hills and you had on super tight pants where you couldn't even bend over, I was like,
You're not going to work out. But I think the reason you knew that is because a lot of that job has to do with working. Yeah, actually working. But they all say they can. Physical. Yeah, they all say they can when their high heels are click, click, click, click. What are you going to do? Just looking like Bambi. Yeah. Well, Tiffany, I don't. Did Tiffany do anything wrong? No. No. Use what you got. If you have your brains, you use them. If you have orange heels and a low-cut dress, you can use them. You can have both. You can have both. You can. My wife does. She's absolutely using it, though. Let your best foot forward. Tiffany, do you find that when you go out, you have special attendance? It's a stupid question, because of course you do. When you go out, what is it like? When I go out, I don't even need to bring anything with me. I need my ID and my phone, and that's it. Holy cow. I don't need money. Guys will buy me drinks. They offer me drinks all night, right? When I walk in the door, they'll come up, what are you drinking? You don't need money. You don't take money with you. Will you go alone or with friends? I don't need to. I go out with my friends, obviously. But if I go alone, I can meet friends. Holy cow. Meet friends. Yeah, what's that like? Have you ever gone out and you just didn't take any money with you and you knew that you didn't have to?
Yeah. It was Halloween night. And Halloween, you're allowed, I mean, it's the law. You're allowed to dress slutty. It's the law. It's called the Tiffany statute. It's Tiffany's law. Tiffany's law. That's a beating. I cannot imagine what it would be like to go out and not take money and know I don't have to take money. I'm covered. All of my food and beverage. Cab, home. Everything. I'm good. Now, I mean this in the most genuine sense of the question. I don't mean it rhetorically. I mean it genuinely. What's that like? It's nice. It's nice. You don't have to worry about not having money to go out that night. All you have to worry about is how you look, whether or not you went tanning that day. and what you're going to wear. Tiffany, how old are you? I'm 25. What will you do when it all starts to go away? I hadn't thought about that. She'll get married. You're probably right. She'll be divorced by then. I don't know. Oh, L-O-V. You just go for it. It's a poison-tipped arrow. Depending on who I mean, I could probably get it all fixed. You know what I mean? Wait, wait, wait.
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Tiffany? Oh, boy. All right. Now what we have is an interview. Because now I am fascinated by you. So now we're going to have an interview. I watched, I was talking about it last week, the 48 Hours mystery where the gold digger had the husband killed for millions of dollars. Right. And I mean, from the very beginning, she was smoking hot. And from the very beginning, smoking hot chick did this like she would. Her bit was meet a rich guy, get taken care of, get a divorce, meet a rich guy, get taken care of, have a baby, get a divorce, get yourself back into shape, find a rich guy. And she was. Rich by doing it. So my genuine question for you, Tiffany, even though I know you're not a murderer, my question for you is, is there ever a time where you think to yourself that it's kind of gnarly to use your boobies for cashola?
Is it ever? Or do you think to yourself, because I was trying to put myself in the position of the gold digger and I was thinking maybe what she convinced herself of is he's a creep. So he deserves this because he's older than me and he's going after me. And so the way that I will rationalize this is he's a sex pervert creep. And so I'll show him. How do you, and I mean this really, how do you get these dudes? And in your mind, you're not like. Well, a lot of them are good looking guys, honestly. And, you know, 17 year age difference, 20 year, you know, whatnot. They're still not bad looking guys. Okay. Okay. Okay. What about this? What about this? One more question. I got it. Well, I have a few more, but this is the next question. Is there any part of you that's like, man, I should go to school and I should like. Figure out how to do this on my own. Well, because of my dress and my shoes, I got a job. Oh, wow. Oh, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow. More power to it. I mean it. I mean, that's savvy enough. She's got assets and she's using them. But they're going to go away. Sorry. Go ahead. Go ahead. Even though I did almost lose that job once because the lack of experience, I still have the job and I've been there for two years and it's management.
Handle it under the table. I have a job. I can take care of myself. I just want more, you know what I mean? So you, like what kind of purse do you have? So I have Coach. Of course. I mean, it's not like a ridiculously expensive purse. I know, but did you? Okay, the money. Okay, I'm going to guess you've got nice stuff. What do you drive? I drive a Volvo. Okay. XC90. Is it a nice one, a newer model? Yeah, it's 2010. Okay. It's SUV. This girl. And what do you look like? Foxy. Yeah. Well, you know she's foxy, but what do you look like? I'm five, four and a half, brown hair, hazel eyes. I wear glasses. I'm about 108 pounds. Just describe bookworm. Yeah, our friend bookworm. She's taller than that. M1 bookworm. She's taller, but in appearance.
She described them on Bookworms. Are you busty? Yeah, I was just going to ask that. I'm a large bee. I mean, for my body size, because I'm very petite. But I do have a butt. That's my best asset. This is something that men simply cannot do. You can't do that. You can't walk into an interview and be like, have you seen these abs? Look at these abs. Check these out. But it isn't going to last. I mean, you know, she's 25. She's the time of her life right now. She's obviously working what she has. You're down with it, L.O.B. Not for me, but if that's what she's... I worked on my sense of humor, and I like... learned things and tried to get smarter. Oh, God. But if you want to use that stuff, then that's great. But this girl's in management, too. I was very passive aggressive. That's not passive aggressive. I think it's great. Minus the passive. I think if that's what you've decided, that that's going to be the thing that you've got, then do it. Why not? Does that make... Honestly... Could you... Let me ask you something, Tiffany. Could you hear any passive aggression in L.O.B.'s voice, or did you think that she was being genuine? She's being genuine. Yeah. Yeah. Tiffany, send us a picture.
L.O.B. What? L.O.B. I am 100. I'm being 100 percent. Lauren O'Brien, have you never used your sex appeal? I have not. Never. Never. He's gone. He's gone. He's gone. He's gone. He's gone. That's right. Yes. Never. Wow. He just quit. I've used it to flirt with somebody I'm interested in. What about for a cocktail? No. Never. You've never taken a free drink? I didn't say that. I said I've never used my sex appeal to get one. Well, how do you think you got it? Just because you're funny? No, but sometimes they get sent my way and I haven't always said no. Well, then that's using your sex appeal. No, it's there. I didn't use it. You can't help it. Yeah, you can't help it. You're good looking. You can't help it. And you also, I can't fault you. No. I can't fault you. I don't know if I could. You're not faulting me because I didn't do anything wrong. Didn't you? No, but you've used your looks. I have not. Yeah. Only to hit on people. That's the way that I believe they should be used. To hit on people that I want to make sex to and not people I want to die from. Emma Tiffany? Yeah. Oh, I'm so uncomfortable. You are in a management position and you are not qualified for it. You've been doing it for two years. You drive a nice Volvo and...
You're single, right? Now, wouldn't you eventually like to settle down? Meet a nice guy? Like a 27-year-old cat? No, because he don't have enough to offer. He don't have the money to offer. He's a 45-year-old. Guys my age are the worst right now. Between 24 and 28 are the worst. They are. Guy needs to have his own plan. That ain't what it's about with Tiffany. With Tiffany, they're not the earner yet. Dude, there's nothing wrong with wanting security. There's not. No, there isn't. No, there isn't. But there is something wrong with just wanting somebody for... There's nothing wrong with that. If the guy's stupid enough to be like, hey, I don't care if she loves me or not. It's arm candy and I've got money and that's what it's for. You see that a lot. Yeah, you see that a lot. You see that a lot around here. That's what works for people have at it. Tiffany, thank you for joining. Send us a picture. No problem. Thanks for having me. Thank you.

And M1 Sponger from San Diego, you've got J. Hang on, all right? All right, now, here's the deal.
Oh, I'm nervous. What we do is we ask questions. We ask questions that have to do with football to L.O.B. and Jay. Jay is a male, correct? From Texas. From Texas. He's a male from Texas. He played football. Football lives. Played, yeah. And he is not interested at all in spectator sports. He's just not. Yeah, if he's not playing, he's... Yeah, I'm out. Who started last time? It's her turn. It's my turn to start. L.O.B., you are now being referred to as her. We have a $20 gift card to Dave & Buster's in Mission Valley, the perfect place for the holiday party. Maybe buy her.
Free drinks. Shot. No, it's Motivember. No drinks. Motivember. I forgot. L-O-B? Uh-oh. Name one and buy one. Oh, boy. I mean singular. In number. I mean any. You mean any. Yes. From? I'm talking from now until the beginning of time. Okay. Okay? As we know it. Any, then. Any. Okay. This is when I start overthinking it. Name any football analyst on ESPN. Any. From any time. On ESPN? Yes. Must be ESPN. Guy with the two different colored eyes. Stuart Scott. Bam. She got it. Holy cow. Oh, yeah. Jay looks downtrodden. Wow. You like that? Yeah, she came out of nowhere with that. Jay? Oh, gosh. That was easy.
Name any. Any. Any? What do you mean by that? Well, I mean encompassing all, ever, any, any time. From any time. Any time. Any time. Any time. Name any offensive lineman in the history of the world. Ever. From any time. Any time. The refrigerator? Dang it. The Refrigerator Jones, as you called him, or William the Refrigerator Perry. He was a defensive player. He was not offensive, but it's a good guess. LLB. Yes. What is it called when a quarterback is tackled behind the line of scrimmage without advancing the ball? What is that called? A sack. A blitz. She got it. She got it. She said it. She said sack first. She re-guessed. So great. Sack first. Good job. Thank you.
Jay. Yes. What is the line called where the ball's placed? It's the scrimmage line. I sleep. Woods, I don't know what to, I don't know. You just said it in the previous freaking question. Try again. Really? It's the defensive line. It's the line of scrimmage. Oh, the line of scrimmage. The scrimmage line. Oh, my God. It has scrimmage in it. You can't say down touch and have it be a touchdown. Yeah. It's different. It's got scrimmage in it, the answer. She has a point. Does she have a point? She has a point. That's a down touch. That's a down touch. Down touch. A back corner. Oh, touchdown, down touch. What? It's a scrimmage line. Touchback, touchdown, same thing. A back running. You're telling me they never say the line of scrimmage.
No, they do say the line of scrimmage. They don't say the scrimmage line. Yeah, they do. No, they don't. The scrimmage line? They never say, hey, look at that. He's 20 yards behind the scrimmage line. I bet people that speak Spanish that don't live in this country that don't know, they might call it the scrimmage line. No, I disagree. I say my Hungarian nanny goes, this is line of scrimmage. I bet I Google it and it says, yes, you are correct. No, it's a scrimmage line. It comes back and it says, what are you trying to say? Ask it a different way. I don't know what you mean. It'll say, yes, you're correct. But whatever. Ella B? He hates it. Ella B? Who has won the most Super Bowls in NFL history? The Steelers. Oh, look at you! She's red hot. That is correct. The Steelers. I was doing Jay voice. Jay? Apparently. Jay? Yes. In what state do the Vikings play? That's a great question. Vikings. Oh, that's a great question, Mike. I'm glad you asked. Let's see. The Vikings play. Where is it again? Oh, God. Is it the...
The Vikings. Yes, the Vikings. He is using one eye right now. He's got one eye open. He's got one eye open. Well, they're Vikings, so where would Vikings be from? They would be from, it would be Cincinnati. That's not a freaking state. They're not from the state of Cincinnati. They, in fact, are from... Mississippi. Kansas City Vikings. The Detroit Vikings. That's not a state either. Wisconsin Vikings. Oh, Tennessee Vikings. He's guessed every state in the union. Nevada Vikings. The Wyoming. What was that? What was that? It's the Minnesota Vikings. He just said Massachusetts. Dang it. Minnesota. Washington.
Minnesota. I just said it. Minnesota. California. All right, here we go. I love this game so much. LLB, you get this one, and you have won. Yeah. Weird. LLB, in what state do the Saints play? Louisiana. Look at you! She's only lost twice. She's so good. Someone get me a broom so I can squeeze them out. That game is so much fun. Oh, he hates it. He hates it. I'll just take my $10 and go. M1 Danielle from Oceanside. Daniel. Oh, it's Daniel. Daniel. Daniel. Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry. Daniel. Ella B. Ella B brought it home for you, buddy. Yeah. I swear to God. I can play that for an hour. For an hour. You know, and it's funny, too, because I had said to Woods, I said, do you think listeners are still in on Mikey Morning Quarterback? And they have written and said that they can listen to that bit for hours. Can they? Yes, they can. For hours upon hours. God bless. It is just, I mean, it is a gift that doesn't stop. It just doesn't. It's good stuff. Massachusetts. Massachusetts. It's our boy.
Scrimmage line. Still saying that's not good. Are you looking it up? I'm trying to. Here is a question for you. Do coaches go too far? We are going to disagree here. It's okay. This is a coach you're about to hear. All right? High school football coach. High school. And this is what he was saying. I don't give a s***. Go right now. We can play without you. So help me not. I'll pull the freshman team up here and play tonight. Nothing changes tonight. You think you're a man trespassing if I see him again. He's on another campus. It's illegal. Trust me. You don't want to be a dragon. You just want your buddies here. It's a bunch of mean people. You don't give a s***. Coach, I'm sorry. I can barely. I can't hear you. I don't care. Don't do it under my name. Coach, I'm sorry to interrupt.
I have an orthodontist appointment. Coach, I have to pee-pee so bad. It's identical Billy Bob Thornton. Are you sorry to y'all? In. In. In. And, and, and. I am inspired. I'm going to go kick some tell tonight. What's tell? I'm going to kick it if I find it. Hey, listen. I'm down with a guy screaming and carrying on. You know, it's football and everything. Hey, douche. The curse. It's high school. It's freaking high school, man. It's high school. And you, wait, wait, wait. You're not a student.
Okay, maybe students cuss. Maybe? Wait, hang on. Yes, they do. Okay. They do. Just want that clarified. Oh, oh, oh. Well, then that must mean it's cool for adults to do everything they do, right? See, the point is, this douche is supposed to be the example. He's not a douche. If that's your argument, what is the highest aspiration that a coach can be? What is the pinnacle for them, a coach? To win a championship. At what level? At any level. Well, at what level? You want to be a professional coach, right? Okay, sure. So, dude, I've seen it. You've seen it. Norv dropping F-bombs. I've seen all kinds of college coaches. That's what coaches do. Those are adults. Right. Those are adults. And I'm saying those people that they're coaching are adults. Oh, so as soon as it clicks 18, you're like, oh, language. Then you can curse at them. Well, I guess you could use the same argument and go, oh. So I guess can't have sex with a 17-year-old, huh? But as soon as they turn eight different, man, that's sex. You're comparing cussing to having sex? I'm comparing adult to an adult. These aren't adults, man. Just words with words they hear. They need to be treated that way. They do. He's talking? You guys missing that he's talking to, and this is the word they use when you have sex with a 17-year-old, a child? Yeah, minor. They're children.
They're not children. Yes. No. Well, according to the law, they are. And if that dude was saying that, I'd go up to him and I'd go, Hi, coach. Do me a favor. If you coach college football, say whatever you want. You're talking to adults at that point. You know, they're in college. Maybe try to work on the X's and O's a little better so that you don't have to have a little... Tantrum. Hey, Mike, are you in my locker room? No. Get your ass out of my locker room, Mike! If you continue to talk to my freaking kid. Your kid wouldn't play. Your kid needs to be playing tennis, Mike! Yeah, or golf. Hey, so here's a question. Are you going to let him see movies, Mike? You're going to let him see Alien? No. You're not going to let your 17-year-old see Alien? 16-year-old. Okay, wait a minute. Yes, I am. Oh, wait a minute. They cuss in that movie, Mikey. Oh, my gosh. You ready? Yeah, I'm ready. The difference is that in that situation, I am exhibiting parental control. So are you when you sign. I have a choice. You sign them up for football. That's what they're going to be in for. You better not let your boys play football. That's what they're going to get. Or any sport. Listen, I had coaches that cussed. I had coaches that didn't cuss. I didn't. I never had a coach that didn't cuss. Yeah, I didn't either. Now, the guy that does it on a...
Every day, and it gets old. How about that guy? That guy had a reason. They were doing something that they shouldn't have been doing, and you could tell he was at the end of his row. It's when you know he's serious. It holds more cachet if you do it every now and then. Now, I coach Little League. I'm not going to curse it to Little Leagues. Why? They're little. They're little. So what? They're little. What's the deal, Jay? What's the cutoff? The big difference is when you're in high school. Oh, okay. They're getting recruited at that point. So let's use Jay's logic. Oh, so this day they're not in high school, but this day they are. Oh, yeah. It's big time. Oh, big time. Hang on. Jay, so they're not in high school this day, but they're in high school this day. That's right. So that means this day they couldn't handle it, but the next day they could. I'm not saying they couldn't handle it, but there's no reason for them to handle it. Wait, wait, wait. Sports get a lot more serious once you enter high school. Why can't they handle it on Wednesday when they weren't in high school, but Monday when they were? What's the difference? So why can they drink when they turn 21, and why can't they drink the day before? I'll tell you why. Because we have established that there's an age that you're an adult, and it's 18. Well, there's no law against cursing at kids. It's 21 now, apparently, for drinking. What about this? But there's no law. Are you okay if that's the geometry teacher?
No. And these guys were supposed to be studying for a geometry exam and they didn't. And he's passionate about it because it's what he does. And he's like, you mother effers! Football's a violent, aggressive. It's aggressive. And they're teaching these kids how to be aggressive. I'm telling you, man. You've got three boys. One of those kids is going to play football. Yeah, I understand. I'm hopefully going to have kids too. And if I sign my kid up for football and his coach screams at him and curses at him, I don't have a problem with it. He puts his hands on him. we got a problem. If he grabs his face mask and yanks him, we got a problem. Yeah, I got a problem. He cusses to a high school kid. I go to him and I say, what are you thinking about? He's getting fired up. We need to be aggressive out there. Good luck. Good luck. Do you think that the principal of the school thinks it's okay? I don't know. I bet you he doesn't. So that would mean that if I went to the principal and I said, you know, your coach is talking to the kids and he's cussing. You know, listen, it's high school, man. It's high school. Let's try to be an example. Let's not try to be... Well, you better not let them listen to music. You better not let them look on the internet. We're not talking about music. But you were just talking about having sex. You were just talking about having sex. I'm using the example of there's an age. I'm using the example of music and of movies. With music and movies, with music and movies, those people are not playing to... Those people are not high school teachers. Well, they're playing to high school kids, though. Right. Yeah.
Yeah, they are. Playing to high school kids. You don't have a problem with that. They are. And as a parent, you have the right to be able to try to monitor. Sure. You can't monitor that if the kid's at school. And the teacher's cussing. I expect it. As a parent, I expect it. I got cursed at if it was important like that. My baseball coach yelled at me so freaking bad and cursed at me. You know what I didn't do? I didn't miss a sign again. I'll tell you that. Because I missed a very important sign. And he cursed at me in front of my parents at a game. And I didn't ever miss a sign again. Ever. Never, ever, ever. Yeah, if it was a high school game. It was high school. Yeah, I wouldn't. If you can't stand cursing, you might be a little too soft for football. Yeah. That's what I think. You might try it out for the knitting class. Listen, here's the deal. It isn't that I feel that my kid's delicate. I'm glad you said that. Because that's the point that I really want to make. My kid hears the F word from his coach. I don't believe he's damaged. No. I don't believe he's been injured. I don't believe he's been damaged. And I don't, I really, so I'm glad that was said. I don't. What I do have a problem with is that I believe that years back that didn't happen. And the reason that it didn't happen, in my estimation, and we can call my dad right now, I will guarantee, because my dad was a varsity quarterback for Gilroy High School. I can guarantee you his coaches yelled.
Their butts off. But I can guarantee you he will say they never cussed. You know why? Because it was 1957 and you just didn't do that because it wasn't appropriate. Now it is. Now it is. Not only is it appropriate, it's like people think you should do it. Yeah, we're okay with it now. That doesn't make it okay. It's still stupid. It's just words. It's not like he's calling them things. Oh, yeah, I agree. I mean, listen, man, it's a freaking football locker room. That's a football locker room. I'm okay with it if it's college. I don't have an issue with it if it's college. Are you okay with him? My problem is with him. Not the kids like, oh my gosh, my delicate ears. That's not it. I just think he's a clown. If he's yelling and you hear him, he's throwing stuff. You're good with that. I'm not good with him throwing stuff either. That was at the end of it when he throws the thing. It sounds like he turns something. I love a guy walking in there, grabbing the freaking Gatorade thing and pulling it down and saying, you guys get your heads out of your asses and let's get out there and play. Tony Dungy never had to do that. Somehow. Tony Dungy never had to do that. He's a Super Bowl champion. Absolutely. But Vince Lombardi did. And Mike Ditka did. And it worked for them. Yeah, it did. So, I mean, there's, you know.
It doesn't mean it's just because they did doesn't mean that's... And by the way, those are adults, man. Yeah, yeah. Talking to adults. Right. What about Varsity Blues? That's good. That is good. Varsity Blues. I don't want your life. I don't want your life. M1DC girl from Washington, D.C. agrees with you guys. Go ahead. Hey, guys. Love the show. Hi. Yeah, my husband's a football and wrestling high school coach, and these kids just... They think they're adults. They think it's like college. They watch all these things on TV, Reggie Boyce, this and that, and they feel like they're entitled. Just like you say, Mikey, this is the entitlement generation. And these kids, if you don't stand up to them, they walk all over you. And my husband has to deal with that every day. It's a constant battle. And these kids just, they don't want to respect. They think they're entitled and their parents just, you know, go in there. If they hear like they're cussing on the sidelines, their parents just attack. And listen, DC girl, I mean, all I think about is, hey, man, I understand that the kids have an attitude. But to me, that doesn't govern the behavior of an adult. Like, see, they're kids. That's why they act like that, because they're kids. But these are adults. And adults should know, hey, I'm a coach, man. I'm a coach for high school kids.
Oh, my dad's on the hotline. My dad's on the hotline. I gotta go. I gotta go, DC girl. When we come back, we'll talk to my dad. I have a screw loose to go in for that sort of thing. Call 570-1949. Uh-huh, that's right. Okay, so in just a second, we're going to be talking to my friend Miller, who has something really cool that he wants to tell listeners about. First, though, my dad is on the line. Oh, boy. Dad, are you there? Yes, uh-huh. Okay, now, what we were talking about, did you hear about this coach that was high school coach screaming and cursing at his kids, at his high school team? I heard about one that was molesting kids. That's a different deal. That's the Penn State defensive coordinator. Yeah. Okay, this is a different story. This is a high school coach. And let's see if you can hear this. Okay, now here's the deal.
I don't have a problem with a coach yelling at his kids. I don't have a problem with that. What I do have a problem is they're still in high school. And if you're still in high school, you've heard the F word a million times. You've heard it from your friends. You probably say it yourself. I just think it's wrong for an adult who's supposed to be talking to kids to be talking that way. You get into college, you're an adult. You're 18. You know, it isn't a question of the kids. It's not that I think the kids are. It isn't that I think that the kids are getting, you know, their little sensible ears are getting hurt and tortured. I think it's poor judgment on the part of a coach. Now, we got into a conversation about it, Dad, and I might be wrong. And I said to Woods and L.O.B. during the break, I said, if I'm wrong, I'm going to feel like such an idiot. But I said. I believe that it's our culture moving in that direction. My father was a quarterback at Gilroy High, and I bet that the coaches yelled. What I don't bet they did was use the F word and cuss at the kids, and that's what we wanted to ask you. Yeah, no, they never did that. And why didn't they? It was the times, you know. The kids had a lot of trust in them, and so did the parents.
And they just knew better. They were there to teach, and they weren't going to teach by using the F word and talking to kids in that manner. Yeah. Now, see, it's 2011. And in 2011, it takes a lot to shock you. Oh, yeah. It takes a lot to shock you. In fact, 10 years ago, 15 years ago, it took a lot to shock you. But this has always been my point, is that... I feel that our culture is becoming a toilet. Our culture is becoming a complete and utter toilet. Sure. We've made a lot of advancements, no doubt, especially in civil rights. We've made a lot of advancements. But the one thing that I like about my dad's era is that men were still men. They just didn't have to say the F word to be a man. Well, for sure. And there was like values and you didn't do that because. That was freaking wrong. You don't do that. Yeah, dude, but you're also talking. I mean, I get it. I would love to have the Norman Rockwell living on Main Street. That ain't Norman Rockwell. Oh, yeah, it is. Bro. Straight up. The white picket fence. That implies that it's like this unicorns and rainbows sort of. No, it's not. It's exactly as you described it. And there's no unicorns. There's no rainbows. Guys went off to war, and they were men.
And, you know, I mean, everybody was they didn't have to curse it. Like you're saying, it's exactly that time. I would love to live on Main Street and raise little Timmy and Sally. I think it'd be great. But it's just not where we live. And it's not realistic to think that we can never get there again. The only reason that it's not where we live is because we've allowed it. Of course, man. Of course. My dad went to high school in the 60s in Camden, New Jersey. And he's told me some of the stories about his coach and. Some of the teachers. Oh, yeah. Including priests. Now, I'll tell you what. I'll tell you what. I think the 60s was a pretty pivotal time in American culture. Because in the 50s, chicks weren't rubbing mud all over their bare boobs. Yeah. And in the 60s, they were. Yeah. In the 50s, they weren't. 60s, they were. Yep. All right. So that's when the thing took the little turn. Sure. Now. I like boobs as much as the rest of them. In fact, I like mud on boobs. I get it. Isolate that. Isolate that. Isolate that. Who did you raise? Do it. Or lose it. Oh, my gosh. Hey, listen. I like mud on boobs like the next guy. That's so awesome. Oh, no. You know, I think you're just giving those words way too much power.
You are. No, I'm not. Yeah. No, I'm not giving him too much power. You would be like a young Republican back then. No. In the 60s. No. Here's what I'm saying. It's like saying, I think you're just giving Lady Gaga too much power. I think you're just giving Call to Duty too much power. No, I think what's happening is that our culture has got claws. And it's got the claws right in our kids. For sure. I don't think that you can support the NFL and then also not support what that coach is doing. The NFL is talking to adults. They're talking to adults. But we're breeding them from like age 10, really. I mean, the bar has been raised. These ninth graders? Yes, the bar has been raised. Hold on. We have a listener. We have a listener, Whoopi. And one Whoopi. Her son, I believe, is in ninth grade. Kid rushes four touchdowns a game, 250 yards every game he touches a ball. He's a little freaking Marcus Allen, Eric Dickerson. She's already getting calls from coaches. Already getting recruited. When they go to play high school football now, straight up, it's a business. I mean, it's a business. It ain't about the game. It ain't about fun. It's a business. That doesn't have anything to do with the behavior. They treat them like men. Yeah, they treat them like men. Right.
They're teaching them to be men. Maybe that's true. I'm not denying that. I'm just saying it's freaking wrong. It's wrong. Maybe they are treating them like men. Maybe they are doing all that stuff. And what I'm saying is if I were running for a political office, my platform would be can we get back to having different values? Like we get so caught up. in what's our normal right now. Right now, it takes a lot to shock you. It takes a lot to shock you because that's our normal. And all I'm suggesting is maybe we get back to what gave us the cachet that we have. SG&T. Sounds good, not true, bro. I mean, you can't get in the DeLorean and go back to 1956. You just can't. Okay, and... I would submit to you that a year ago you could have told Egypt that there's no way that they could overthrow a government with freaking Facebook. And they did. But it's progression. I mean, I don't want to go back to 1956 as a woman because there was a lot of different ideals then. That's what I said. There have been some civil rights. But that's what comes, the good with the bad is what happens. And here's the deal. That's why I want to change it. One.
wrist band at a time. I want to do it one B different band at a time. It's not the way you would coach, but it's like Jay said, you're lending. If the guy went in, you're okay with him yelling. You're okay with him screaming at the top of his lungs at these kids. What you have a problem with is the S word. Woods. Everybody that feels that way, I'm going to tell you this. By the time my kids have grandkids, the coach will be saying, You guys are going to do that? Why don't you ask my please? Well, that didn't make any sense. My coach said that. I didn't do it. That's what the guy from Penn State said, apparently. But, you know. We will get to the point where they are saying things that today we would go, oh, wait, now that's wrong. It's over the line. Now that's wrong. Maybe. Maybe. This is where we live here. We live now. I know. And that's why here, now, today, I want to go.
Wake up. Wake up. Wake up. Everybody's in this daze. Everybody's kind of in a daze of like, we just do like the culture. We do like the culture. We do like the culture. We do like the culture. You don't have to. I'm okay with him not cursing, but I'm also okay with him cursing. It's a freaking high school football coach that's obviously really fired up. And his team are... I know this from coaching. I had the 11-year-old tell me to F off. I mean, the kids are different. You talk about us being different in 1957. Doesn't change you. The kids were different, too. You bet they were. You bet. Kids today are terrible. There's no doubt. That's why we, as adults, see a bunch of kids that are terrible. You know how they got to be terrible? Because adults cursed and they went, I guess this S is all right. That's a leap. That's a big time leap because my coach totally cussed at me. My coach totally cussed at me. He would read me the Rydeck. You're not the example of look how I turn home. But he is. He's a husband. He's a good father. I got four kids that I play with. You are a good father. You are a good father.
Curse like a sailor. Yes. And what does that hurt? So do I. Really? What does it hurt? It's all right. It doesn't hurt a thing. Time and place. Yeah, time and place. Time and place. My dad knew the words. He didn't use them around me. Hey, man, all I'm telling you is my pops even now. Even now. My pops, I don't hear my dad with the F and the S and the F and the blah, blah, blah. I don't hear my dad or mom either. And I think that's kind of cool. But they know him. I think that's good. You know what else? Listen, and I'll get off my soapbox, man. I'm sorry, Rick Jackson. My general manager is like, This is why people hate you. No. No, you got it. I have a strong opinion about it. All right. Let me just say this. So you have the cursing high school coach. Right. Okay. Which didn't happen in the 50s. If you ask my dad, hey, dad, how come people weren't getting divorced like crazy in the 50s? His answer would be because we just didn't. Yeah. It was the times. Sure. It was the times. And what I'm saying is.
Is there any part of us that kind of goes, oh, man, maybe those parts of the times we should embrace. You know, maybe we don't embrace the parts that have to do with equality and, you know, civil rights. You know, I don't believe in that. But in terms of just values. Sure. Just values, man. Values. For me, that is important. Pop, I love you. Thank you for coming on. All right. Start with your boys and your boys will spread it on. That's right. I'm trying, man. That's what we definitely got to do. I'm trying. Hey, listen, I watch my mouth at your house. I don't want to curse around your kids. I don't want to, you know, I don't want to say the S word in front of Jake. That would kill me. It would break my heart, too. And that's the thing, man. He's going to hear it. Yeah, he will. He ain't going to hear it from me. And he's not going to hear it from me. He's going to hear it from Auntie Lauren. That's who he's going to hear it from. Not around Jakey. No. They're not. And here's another thing I'm sure the radio people would be mad at me about. I endorsed AJ from AJ's Playhouse because I believe that sometimes values are more important than ratings. Samsung did it. Samsung did it. Samsung as a company said, we are going to release this Android, this new and improved Android. And then Steve Jobs died.
They didn't do it. They said, we think it's kind of in poor taste. It's disrespectful. It was a sign of respect. A multi-billion dollar company was able to put aside dough because they wanted to have values. You rarely see it anymore. I said, AJ from AJ's Playhouse, a competitor of mine, is on a crane and he is... And he's having people bring toys down. And he's going to try to break the record from the year before. And those toys are going to Children's Hospital. That's awesome. And I want people to go give toys to AJ. And thank him. And say, dude, this is cool. And I don't care about the ratings part of it. Because there's something bigger at stake. And it's little kids having toys. Yeah, absolutely.
It's little kids having toys. And if you can't get behind that, you're a stooge. And what I mean by that is I really hope that our radio station doesn't pull me over and say, you should never go on the air and promote one of our competitors. And if anybody does say that, I'm going to report it on the radio, you know, anyway. We're a reality show. We're a reality show. It's my duty. You get it all. You get the good, the bad, the ugly. The ugly. And the fat. You shouldn't call me that. Yeah. Yeah, and the fat. Don't forget. Yep. That's why Miller is here. Miller's a friend. Hi, Miller. Miller does something rad. Now, listen to this. And a lot of people say, Well, today is November the 7th. Why now? And Miller, don't worry about breaking anything. You can grab that thing and pull it. You got to be about this close to the microphone. Perfect. A lot of people say, well, why now? Because it's November and this thing is called Operation Santa. They want as much time to help you as possible. Miller, tell people what Operation Santa is.
So we're from a service organization over at UCSD, and we put on a project called Operation Santa for the past five years. And the goal of the project is to find families that need help for the Christmas season, and that's where we can come into play, where we can find out what the wish list is, and based on our funding, we can actually bring the gifts to the families at their residences a few weeks before Christmas when our members are done with their finals. How awesome is that? Incredible. So cool. How awesome is that? Now listen, this is an example of a family. They wrote and said, I've been unemployed after a serious attack by a patient at work two years ago. I've exhausted all state disability payments and unemployment. We're not eligible for any county benefits due to my minimal income for taking care of our disabled child at home. Her dad was diagnosed a year ago with colon cancer and was out of work for 14 months and just returned to work. This has been a very stressful year for all of us. I just can't imagine my daughter not having Christmas. I can do the dollar store for her stocking, but I feel so lost. I've never had to ask for help before, and I would do anything in my power to perhaps help y'all in any way I can from home. This is somebody that was in need. And what do you do?
So after we get all our nominations, we filter for the ones that we feel need the most help, such as the one they just read. And then we call them up, ask them what they need for Christmas, especially needs for such as food or clothing, in addition to the gifts. And then we set up a delivery date, and then we just deliver the wrapped presents to their house. And then if they want their kids to see it, they can be there. Or if they want them to be away so that they can believe in Santa Claus still, then that's fine with us as well. So how do M1s, who, by the way, Mobilize like you wouldn't believe. I mean, genuinely like an army. Genuinely. Genuinely like an army. Mobilize and get stuff done. So what can people do? So go to our website. It's operationsantasd.org. And there are three things that you can do on there. First is obviously we can take donations if you guys can spare it. The second is that if you're willing to adopt a family, say you know some coworkers, some friends or families that want to just get together and be a part of this process, you can actually deliver these gifts yourselves and experience the joy that these families are experiencing from what we deliver to them. Or the third thing is if you know a family that needs help or if your own family needs help.
then just nominate the family on our website, and then we'll do our best to try to help them out this year. Can we, as a show, adopt a family and do that as a show? Absolutely. Any of you guys that are willing to do it, including M1 listeners, just get your coworkers. It's such a fun process. Let's do it. Let's adopt. That would be great. Jay, are you in? I'm in. And you can't nominate yourself, Jay. Well, there's a little boy known to Jasper. That's right. You're good. All right, so it's operationsantasd.org? Yes. Okay, cool. And you can nominate, you can help, you can do any various ways of being able to help out these families. And the more you go there to that website, the more chances to help families here in San Diego this year. And again, it's just like the thing that we talked about with Mikey-thon. This is not... I know you do. I see them jeans. I see them. You should wear that more often.
Disgusting. I know you do, but what am I? Yeah, Jay, I don't like you in jeans. Oh, it's so weird. Yeah, what's up with the jeans? You don't wear jeans. All my shorts are dirty. All right. Why don't you do laundry? Are you just waiting on your wife to do it for you? I'll get to it. That's what you told me off the air. That's not what I said. You said, Kim ain't done laundry. No, that's not what I said. She's too busy with a garage sale. That's right. What's a garage sale? And taking care of me when I'm ill. Oh, yeah. He was so ill this weekend. Hey, I couldn't move, man. I know. I was decapitated. Don't you mean incapacitated? Yeah, I think that's what you mean. Yeah. He does look like a sex pervert in those jeans, though. I do not. Yeah, you do. They're not you. They're me. They're way light. They're too light. They're baggy. They're not that baggy. Something's weird about them. This is so creepy. Yeah, you don't wear them. I don't wear them. I wear shorts all the time. All right, so listen to this. And by the way, it'll shock you to know that I believe that this is natural. National study finds widespread sexual harassment of students in grades 7 to 12. Listen to this. Half of the 7th to 12th graders experienced sexual harassment in the last school year, according to a study scheduled for a release on today, actually. With 87% of those who have been harassed reporting negative effects.
such as absenteeism, poor sleep, stomach aches. Now, here's what they defined harassment as. An unwelcome sexual behavior that takes place in person or electronically. Check. Okay, now, you can't say check because you're not... Grade 7 to 12. Yeah, but I did it. I was in 7 to 12 once. Me too. And it was a sexual harassment real good. Yes. Now, listen to this. They defined the harassment as unwelcome sexual behavior that takes place in person or electronically. Overall, girls reported being harassed more than boys. So weird. That is definitely weird. So weird. But what's really weird is that 40% of girls... between 7th and 12th grade are harassing, that is, giving unwelcome sexual behavior in person or electronically to the boys. Where were they when we were in school? Are you talking about the teachers? No. To each other? The students. Oh my gosh, that's not sexual harassment. That's just called flirting at that age. No. No. Unwelcome sexual behavior that takes place in person or electronically.
boys were more likely to be the harassers, according to the study. So weird. Now, when I started, I said, I think that you will find it interesting to know that I think that this is natural. I don't think that it's right. I don't think it's good. I just think that at that age, boys and girls are sort of inclined to that type of behavior. I thought it was for if you could provide some kind of gain. Harassment. I mean, if you're harassing somebody. If I ask you out and you don't want to go, is that now harassment? Well, it could be if it's unwelcome. Really? How do you know? I mean, you never know until you're not supposed to do it at work. If it's like repeated. It's not at work. They're at school. I know. I know. But they're not. I don't think that they would say.
Hey, this boy asked me out and I didn't. And the reason that that doesn't qualify is because it isn't sexual behavior. I don't think that that's what's going on. Yeah, it's sexual behavior. Asking a girl out is not sexual. Yeah. Asking a girl out. They're talking about unwelcome sexual behavior that takes place in person or electronically. And I can tell you that in eighth grade, all of us, all boys, well, a few boys maybe didn't, but a lot of us, me included, loved the... bra snap bit. And if you were a girl that decided to go to a base, you were going to be harassed for a long time by boys and girls. So even if you went to first base, you were getting... As long as the news was out that that was your first time hitting that base. Landing on that base. Getting to that base. I found it fascinating that 40% of girls are giving unwelcome sexual behavior to boys. That was kindergarten. Yes. For LLB it was. Yes, it was. I was tamer. I got some sexual harassment, but it wasn't unwelcome. I was always in on it. Yeah. For the most part. Well, here's what I remember. I remember that girls sometimes, and they were kids. They were evolving. Yeah, they haven't figured it out. So sometimes girls would get mad that their bra got snapped.
grab your boys and yank them and be like, you see how it feels? Just weird stuff like that. It's the age. Gosh, those were good times. Son of a gun. Those were good times. Not for me. Back then they didn't call it sexual harassment. Now you're Clarence Thomas when you're in 8th grade. Here's what I didn't know. If it were true of that time when I was snapping bras. If it was causing absenteeism, poor sleep, and stomach aches, that makes me feel like a freaking creep. If it was. I mean, I thought it was. I thought the girls were like. They were. They were. I think it was mostly. Like, you know, there would be the girl that wore a sweatshirt with cats on it and, like, sat by herself. Yeah, but you're not sexually harassing her. A lot of the guys would yell things to her. Oh, no. To, like, tease her. That's mean. That's mean. Do that with the hot girls, the cute girls. But some guys, because they knew, they actually, you know, doing the like, hey, you know what I mean? I saw that stuff. I had a friend, and she was like, we were really close. We went to school every day together, and we were really, really tight friends. I was shocked. She had really big boobs. And I didn't touch her, but as a joke, I thought it would be really funny.
to pretend that it was a boxing punching bag. And I go... With my mouth, I was going... And I thought she would think that's hysterical. I didn't actually touch her body. I was just doing the mimicking motion. And she goes, don't do that. And I remember when she did that, I was like, oh gosh. Like, I was surprised. Because she thought everything I did was funny. Even with her. But apparently she was very self-conscious. Oh, yeah. Yes. Which would never enter my mind because I thought she thought she was the luckiest girl on earth. Absolutely. And it doesn't work that way for men because we all grew up, we were in locker rooms together, and you saw the guy that matured a little before you did. I still remember his name was Anthony Braswell. And I was like, wow, look at this guy. That's not fair. How's that fair? And he was walking around like... And you actually said that to him? No, but we would be like, did you see that thing? It's freaking ridiculous. But you're not saying it to him. No, but he walked around like he was proud. Look at this. So as a guy, when you felt that way, you thought, oh, girls must feel that way too. And they didn't. Matt said he had a good friend all through middle school.
I forget what her name was. Let's say it was Jessica Catan. And he said they would bust each other, bust each other back and forth. And then one day he said, Jessica Catan has a chest like a man. And it was like... Dunzo. And see, that I would... Dunzo. That I would get because I wouldn't think that a girl would want that. But if a girl had something that men think is cool... But then she came back that summer with like the biggest boobs in school. Oh, wow. And guess who was SOL? Matt Commerce. Did she have a boob job? No. Oh, she blossomed. Yes. A lot of girls, you'd come back and I was like, I never got that sweet vengeance. But there would be the girls that were like, you know, they were harassed and then they'd come back and be like, guess what? Yeah, and you ain't getting none. Be nice to everybody. Mikey. Oh. All right. And now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. I love watching human beings in their natural habitat. Woods. I have a fear of dentists. A fear, like when I go to the dentist, it's palpable. Lauren. I'm more apt to listen to a specialist than a general practitioner. And Jay. You guys don't make homemade ice cream? They watch. On FM 94.9. All right. So, talked about this earlier, but many of you may have missed it. The chick that is from San Diego accusing Bieber of being the father of her kid, she's busted. Like, she slapped her boyfriend in Vegas. And possibly broke a car window. Yeah, because they were arguing about his new girlfriend. And so, anyway, Bieber vehemently denies that...
He even knows the woman. There is a lot of good that comes with celebrity. You know that. There is also a pretty white hot spotlight. And you found yourself under it recently. Yeah. Some headlines. There's someone who's following a paternity suit. Exactly. Saying you're the father of her three-month-old son. What would you like to say about that? I'd just like to say basically that none of those allegations are true. And I know that I'm going to be a target. But I'm never going to be a victim. You know, I think it's crazy because. Every night after the show, I'm gone right from the stage, right to my car. So it's crazy that some people want to make up such false allegations, but set the record straight, none of it is true. Do you know this woman? Her name is Mariah Eater. Have you ever met her? Never met the woman. All right, so here is her attorney, Matthew Pear. Based upon the evidence that we have, not all of which has been released in the media by any means, there is credible evidence that's going to support that he is the father of this baby. I mean, in the relevant time period, she wasn't having sex with anyone else. And that's how we know that Justin Bieber is, in fact, the father of the baby. That's really what it all boils down to. But I'll again harp on the we need the paternity test to verify that scientifically 100 percent. Yeah. And that's that. Now, if it turns out.
that it's his kid, that's bad. Real bad. But if it turns out it's not his kid, then she's crazy. He's got to have the best PR people in the world. If they said, go ahead and deny it, he better be pretty sure. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Same thing Clinton did, though. That's true. Well, he said that woman. I did not have sex with that woman. I met a different woman. I met somebody else. I didn't mean Monica. I thought you all were talking about some girl from Applebee's. You got her too, didn't you? Yeah, I did. Girl at Friendly's. Girl at Applebee's. How about that girl when we went to that tire store that one day? You slept with that girl? Remember when you had to get new tires? Oh, we wanted to work in a... Remember her? What about that cook at Fuddruckers? That's right. Was she the cook? Yeah, and that's what you said. I like the way you flip them burgers. That's right. And she came back and she gave me her number. Cigar. Two cigars later. No, that was Monica. Oh, yeah. I did not. That's not your only business. You did not have sex with that woman. That's true. But the girl from the tire store. You know, she turned out to be happy. Yeah. I know that because she smoked marijuana back at her apartment. You didn't inhale. No. Hell no. I ain't going to do that. I'd be wrong. I mean, I'm smoking pot. Right. That ain't right. I wouldn't do it.
Identical J president. That's not true. 100. That would be your first business. Oh, yeah. First order of business. Done and done. To try to legalize marijuana nationally. What's the day you get sworn in? The inauguration. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yes, I do something. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Run back. Kim! Draw them papers up, girl. Yeah, just say pot legal. That's it. I'll sign it. Take the tarp off the marijuana field. We're celebrating. That is one drug I never could do. Oh, man, did that make me feel terrible. I just hated the feeling of marijuana. That's me, too. Not me. Gosh, darn. You know, one of the side effects of it is paranoia. Is it? Yeah, that's true. Some people. No. It is. Some people, yeah. Some people, I guess. Well, I'm not saying that you get paranoid when you smoke marijuana, but I'm saying that, okay, here are the side effects of marijuana. The munchies. Oh, yeah. Paranoia is one, although it doesn't affect everybody. Right. Sleepy. And not every time. Right. Side effects may include. Side effects may include munchies.
Paranoia. Sleepy. Sleepy. Drowsiness. I would get the sleepy munchies. Are you only paranoid because you think the police are going to come arrest you? No, because it's pot. I never cared. No. Because it was pot. I'm like, what are you going to do? Listen, I felt more that way when I was snorting methamphetamine than I did when I was smoking marijuana. But when I smoked marijuana, I was very paranoid. Still got this. Over your shoulder, man. I felt, listen, I know that this is weird, and I'm glad that the drug period of my life is over, but I know this sounds weird. I felt, when I was smoking pot, I felt, oh my gosh, I'm a real bad person, drug user. Really? Yes. Really? But when I snorted meth and coke, and I never had that thought. No kidding. Never had that. Wow. You know, even though one drug is clearly. Right. More illicit and hardcore. It must be because marijuana allowed you to get really cerebral. Yeah. You know what? Listen, I told the story before. The one time I remember that I was working in San Jose and it was when I used to work with Sky and she said, you're smoking the wrong stuff if it makes you feel that way. And I said, I'm telling you. And she goes, you have the good stuff. And so I get the good stuff. And I believe that it was.
quality marijuana, but I was watching, I'll never forget, I was watching different strokes. That's the first problem. Yeah. Maybe that was the problem. Well, I mean, it's a comedy. It's a sitcom. Well, you're looking at Gary Coleman, you're like, that guy's 36 years old. He's playing a five-year-old. So, there's problem number one. I don't get this. Is Mr. Drummond a creep? Is he a creep? I'm wondering. All I knew was that I was sitting there on my couch. It was just me. Sitting there on my couch, and I was thinking to myself, What would my mother and father think? Oh, you're that guy. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. I didn't think that when I was doing the most illicit of drugs. That guy, we had a guy like that in college. We all ate mushrooms one time. And he, in the middle of the night, decides.
He feels guilty and he drives home three hours and crawls into bed with his parents and confesses everything. So it was super comfortable when they came up to visit and there's the other six guys that did it with him. They're like, so you're the freaking guys. You're the mushroom eating. disgusting bad influences my child came home he did crawled into bed how strange is that i'm so sorry this is what i did and i don't want to do it anymore i need to go to rehab and we're like we're like dude please don't drive home please don't go home please we're begging him and he goes i have to tell him he goes home tells him i had a really um kind of funny like paranoia experience long time ago i don't um do drugs anymore but Back in the day. Or recommend them. It's not fun. May have smoked marijuana once or twice in my life. It was 1997. I had just been hired by 91X and had moved to San Diego from Denver, where I'd been living for a couple years. And it was my...
First night in my new apartment in Mission Beach. So I was in the heart of Mission Beach, El Carmel Place. Oh, there's no way to find marijuana. Not at all. You had to search. Super crappy apartment, but I was living by myself. So I was super excited to live alone. My dad had helped me move all my boxes in and everything. And, like, linoleum peeling was dumpy. But, you know, right in the middle of things, though. I was fired up. I was, like, 24, you know. So my dad leaves. My house is all boxes except for, like, my mattress. I had no phone plugged in. This is, you know, 14, 15 years ago. So it was before everybody had cell phones all the time. No phone plugged in. And a bunch of Brazilians, there was like six Brazilians in a one-bedroom apartment living downstairs. So my friend Malcolm comes over. My first night in San Diego, right? I have no idea what's going on. Maybe we smoke a little bit of weed. And he's like, all right, peace out. I'm going to go home. Oh, no. School night, right?
So I'm sitting there kind of tripping out like, okay, I'm by myself. I'm in Mission Beach. My first night in San Diego. Everything's in boxes. No phone. And the Brazilians get in a fight. Oh, God. Oh, God. A knife. fight. Oh my God. I was like in the fetal. No phone. Don't know hardly anybody in San Diego. I was like, what do I do? What do I do? So I ended up. That's hard without marijuana. So I ended up laying flat on the floor because I was afraid gunshots were going to come flying. Like that's what I was thinking. It was and they're fighting in Portuguese. Get a visual. I couldn't understand what they were saying. Yes, and it was like all of them poured out into the courtyard right below my apartment. Oh, my God. Oh, my heart. Yeah, it finally, you know, finally calmed down. I finally was able to go to bed. It's still making my heart worse. Now, were you a I never smoke marijuana type person? No, I dabbled. Yeah. But still, I never did it very often. Oh.
I'm telling you. That gets me. I'm telling you. Yeah, it was crazy. It was not that fun. Don't do drugs, kid. Don't do drugs. Seriously. And don't live above Brazilians. They get into knife fights. They get into knife fights. They ended up being good friends. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Nothing wrong with Brazilians. That's how they play Monopoly. Knife fighting Brazilians. Stay away from them. Telekinesis played, and they were way more, like, rocking live than I thought they would be. I'm going to play something from their record, The Pixies, some Switchfoot, Cold War Kids, and one of our recommended albums this month, which comes from a legend. I will play something from him. There you go. Lovely and talented Hillary is up next, and we'll see you tomorrow morning at 6 o'clock. The Mikey Show's out.
