Friday November 12, 2010
Woodsy is out traveling so Todd the God is sitting in. A M1 calls in with an interesting eye problem that will leave him with two different colored eyes. If you want a mayonnaise sandwich then take a cruise! Kids who survived the ordeal are interviewed; let’s hope their lives aren’t tarnished forever. Schools are now having shooting drills along with fire and earthquake drills. Due to a flat tire LOB rode into work with Mikey and she witnessed his Lil’ Bib! The Situation puts out a workout video where he must have been paid by the number of times he says his name. Jay explains how he does the P90X. ToS (Todd on Sports) predicts the NBA championship, a high school coach whipping his players with a weight belt, terrible football raps, and wrapped bundles of cash for college “student” athletes. Kanye doesn’t need to look at Bush’s face, admits he shouldn’t have called the ex-president a racist, and then flips his lid at the Taylor Swift video played over his answers. Sienna trips out when Todd says he’d like to see her as a blonde. Rebecca’s fondness for Clint Black came as a surprise to Mikey, which leads to things your spouse does/likes that you’re unaware of. Younger LOB didn’t like finding out a guy she was dating was a Republican and Jay was surprised to learn Kim likes techno music. Creeper Jay tells what the best thing to do to country music is and Sienna describes what she wore when she dated a cowboy. Mikey has a Freudian slip when referring to Chris as Clint! M1s call in with stuff about their partners they just learned about that shocked them. Mikey’s friend has been with a guy for two years and he never says “I love you” and claims that he never heard it growing up therefore he can’t say it. Dudes tell LOB they love her all the time. Woods calls in after 8am to opine on Sienna’s parents’ dilemma about paying for a family dog’s expensive surgery or putting it down. M1s call in with their dog saving stories. Kutless comes in the studio (www.kutless.com) and talk about their latest tour and the adrenalin they get from performing live. The band then jams two acoustic songs. Kutless talks about “runners” and fans driving them around which gets Mikey to revisit the time he drove Oingo Boingo around Arizona. LOB explains why she wants to learn pole dancing and Jay has no shortage of creeper remarks. Todd suggests Lauren pole dances at the Mikeython. An email about looking at old pictures of ex’s gets a debate going but don’t blame Facebook, blame the looky-loo. Todd is convinced Facebook is an unnecessary evil and Rebecca will “like” comments Mikey’s ex’s will post on his wall. Movie Plot Hot Potato has LOB square off against Jay and will she have to take a BB? Airplanes are built to withstand lightning strikes, Sienna reports, and she gives advice for nervous flyers and things not to say to pilots. Would you rather have a male pilot or a female? I flew with a female pilot once; she left the turn signal on from L.A. to Chicago (rim shot). Mikey’s testimony touches on gratefulness and redemption.

Welcome to the Mikey Show, everybody, with a live studio audience. We have a full audience in here today, man. This is cool. 570-1949 is our number if you want to give us a call. And you can call us right now about anything. Nation. The M1 Nation is Mikey Show listeners. If you are an M1, you are a Mikey Show listener. And you've got to know the rules. That is, when you call in, turn your radio down. Get to the point and don't cuss. That is the rules of being an M1. And you make new M1s. You're constantly telling new M1s to start listening to The Mikey Show. So give us a call right now.
570-1949-949mikey at gmail.com if you want to text us. So, real quickly, The Mikey Show is me. I'm the host. I am 40 years old. Big weekend. Big weekend plan. We got the FM 94.9 8th Anniversary Bash. Yes! That is tomorrow. Someone I know is going to be performing, I think. Yeah, we'll tell you about that in just a second. Woodsy is our sports guy. He's 35. He's in South Carolina? Yes. Charleston, South Carolina. Living it up. Yeah, living it up real good. He's at another wedding. This makes his 42nd wedding this year, I guess, that he's been a part of. 43rd. He's been at a million weddings, and he's out there in a wedding again. And Todd the God is filling in today. So, Todd, you want to talk this far from the microphone. So you want to put a hand up like this, and that's how far away you have to be. You have to be that close, one hand's length away. So there you go. Say hi, babe. This is my husband.
Hello, everybody. Now, Todd, we knew would be a good choice to fill in for Woodsy because he knows about sports and he loves sports and a Laker fan, right? Absolutely. And you grew up out in Pennsylvania? Yep, Pennsylvania. So he's also a Steeler fan. There you go. And so you're going to be helping us out today with sports. And let's see, L-O-B is our assistant producer. She's 29. Sienna is our... News Girl, she's 25. Jay's our producer. He's 47. And our phone screener is Chris. Oh, it's gross. And you are M1, so give us a call. We'd love to talk to you. We've got so much stuff to cover here in our opening break. We're going to be talking about and playing audio of the cruise ship that came into port yesterday that everybody's been talking about. The one that was out at sea and was crippled out at sea and had to be towed in. Yep. So we'll be talking about that. Also, we're going to be talking about what returns to San Diego this weekend. We're going to be talking about a shooting drill that went on at a high school that was too realistic. And where you can get free shipping for the holiday season on the Internet. Yeah, that's a very big store. So you're going to want to hear it. M1 Bobby is on the line. Are you there, Bobby? What's up, fellas? What's going on?
That's a beautiful name. That's my daughter's name. Oh, I like your daughter. There you go. So Bobby, you are getting a very unusual eye operation in a couple of weeks, right? Yes, I am. So currently you have two blue eyes. Correct. And what is the operation going to be for? It is multiple sclerosis. There's different people that have different versions of it. Unfortunately, lost the sight in my right eye. It's like basically looking straight ahead, but you only see like one quarter of what you're looking at in my right eye. It's getting worse. Okay, so what they're going to do is, is it a complete cornea transplant? Yeah, it's like a corneal transplant, and I asked a brown eye. So he's going to have one blue eye.
And one brownie. Nice. Yeah, David Bowie style, baby. Yeah. Isn't there a dog like that, too? Yes, and I had an Australian Shepherd, yes. Sometimes the Huskies are like that, too. Huskies. I thought it was going to be super bitching. And I don't know if my wife's going to be happy with it. Looking at me, you know, from, I guess, upwards. Yeah. Oh, wow. Straight ahead. Yeah. One hot guy on the right and one hot guy on the left. Yeah. It's a win-win situation for me. Yeah, she's stoked. Yeah. That's going to be great. Wow. Dude. Now, was the doctor cool with it? No, they wouldn't do it. I had to pay it extra. Wait, you had to pay extra for a brown eye? Yeah. Wow. How much? I don't know if I'm allowed to say that. I already told you before how much it was, but it's over. It's almost two grand. Oh, wow. I would think the blue eye would be more expensive because brown seems more common. Yeah. They probably have to do some sort of rewiring. Yeah. Maybe not. Rewiring. I don't know. They don't even worry about it. How does that work? Just the Irish. So smart. They don't worry about it. If you can reattach like an arm and a leg, then I should be no big deal. Yeah. I mean, come on. Are you nervous? No, I want to get back in the water. Is it going to affect like the way that you see?
They said that yes, it might because blue eyes are more susceptible to sunlight. They're sensitive. My eyes are really sensitive. But as long as I can still pull in the tube, I don't care. Why wouldn't you go with two brown eyes if you will surf better that way? You almost got through an entire phone call. You almost got through an entire phone call. I know it. I know it, Bobby. Be careful, Bobby. Be careful, Bobby. with the swearing, okay? Mikey, I'm trying my hardest. Yeah, you're doing great. You did great. And, hey, listen. If I had two different brown eyes, you know, if two brown eyes, you know, I'd have to be blind for, what, how long? A long time. Probably six to eight weeks recovery. Yep. All right, Bobby. Bobby, I got to let you go, but it's a cool thing, and send us a picture. Yeah, send us a picture when it's all done. Thank you. All right.
Remember Vinyl Radio. Thank you. That hits his band. Oh, okay. Vinyl Radio. He's in a band called Vinyl Radio. All right. Thanks, Bobby. We love you. Bye, guys. We'll see you. Bye. This is M1 Rawl from Oceanside. What's going on, Rawl? What's going on, Mikey? What's up? Well, I was just calling in because last night I fell asleep listening to one of your podcasts and I woke up to the song Touch My Body. Oh, that's a great song. That is such a great song. If you're not familiar with it, it's a YouTube sensation. It was originally done by Mariah Carey, but it was made popular by this young man. So gorgeous. A hundred and do. By the way, I just want to put this out there. I am not familiar with the Mariah Carey version. I've only heard it once. I'm more familiar with this version. And so just like M1 Raw.
I get the song in my head, too, but it's him. Yeah, I get him in my head, even though I've known Mariah's version first. I don't, I mean, I will all day long be going, and there's a camel up a hill, and I do, I know. I do in my head all the time. And it's his voice. Well, I'm sorry, Raul, and you're welcome. All right. Well, have a good show. All right, man. Thanks. Let's see. M1 Captain Mo from San Marcos is on the line, and you can call us at 570-1949. What's going on, Captain Mo? Hey, Mikey. I just wanted to plug the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Walk for a Cure tomorrow. Right on. Where is it? It's going on tomorrow at Balboa Park. Early morning. Right on. Just trying to raise some money to help cure juvenile diabetes. I love that, dude. I love it. Yeah, my five-year-old nephew was diagnosed with it a couple months ago. And, you know, he's still getting used to it. It's kind of a pain in the butt. Yeah. But he's still playing soccer and still doing all the normal stuff.
Well, right on, dude. I appreciate you getting that out there, man. Thank you. Also, you can help donate by going to walk.jdrf.org. Nice. And donate there, too. Right on. Thank you, dude. Thanks, Mike. Thanks. 5701949 is the number. The word of the day today is Snickers, which is not going to be tough. Maybe I was craving a Snickers. I don't know. Well, it isn't going to be tough for me to work that word into a sentence between now and 10. And so sometime between now and 10, you're going to hear me say the word Snickers. And when I do, Caller 9 will get tickets to Snow Jam, plus a Lyft ticket, a $50 gift certificate, and tickets to go see Rolling with the Stones, which is an incredible Rolling Stones cover band. Yes, the best. They're great. They're going to be at the House of Blues. So fun. Yeah, so we'll throw that in. The band Cutlass is going to be in the studio performing this morning at 9. There's a concert tonight for Cutlass. And we would love to have you go out to this Cutlass concert. Because if you do, you're going to be raising money for Outside the Bold, the organization that I'm going with to Haiti. And found out the other day that the guy that's going to be our host family, he was sick with dengue fever. No! Yeah. He's over it.
He's over it, but that stuff is... While you were supposed to be there, he was sick with it? Well, he was hearing it. He came back to America, okay? And they lived there. They lived there in a compound in Haiti where we're going to be staying. And he was starting to feel kind of sick before they came back for this quick trip to San Diego. By the time he got back to San Diego, the dude is just full on 104 temperature. Oh my gosh. And... And then they went back. They were going to be going back two days before we got there. But then the hurricane came. So they didn't go back. So they didn't go back. All the flights in and out were canceled. And so he recuperated completely and now they're back. But yeah, it's pretty gnarly. 570-1949 is the number. Okay, so the cruise ship. Everybody heard about this Carnival cruise ship that was out in the middle of the ocean, stranded for days. It was supposed to take a 10-day trip to Mexico. Yep, living it up. And instead they were stranded in the middle of the water without air conditioning, without food that you could cook. They ate mayonnaise sandwiches.
You know I like that. Because the refrigeration is turned off. The turkey, whatever they had, is no good anymore. They had spam being brought out there by the USS Ronald Reagan, Pop-Tarts and stuff like that. But they were also given mayonnaise sandwiches. And these people were all interviewed when they were docked in San Diego yesterday. By the way, if people are wondering, well, why didn't they give them any food? It's because the generator... They have a backup generator that will produce electricity, but it burnt. Yeah, it was an engine fire. An engine fire. And another thing, because we're finding out what the passengers were told now that they're here. Yeah. Passengers were told that there was a flameless fire. What? Yeah. How do you have a flameless fire? That's a really good question. I have no idea, but that's what they were told. And I guess they were telling them that because they knew that, you know, they were going to be able to get under control and they didn't want people to panic. Right. So they were told there was a flameless fire. That doesn't make any sense. Yes. They didn't have air conditioning. They had to take cold showers in the dark. You know, no lights. A flameless fire is a lot like a silent but deadly fart. It obviously has a thing to it.
But it doesn't make noise. Yeah. Basically, I think they just said, look, a flameless fire is just a lot of smoke. I don't know. Because they were told that there was a lot of smoke. Like they combusted maybe? Yeah. I don't know. So the ship ran out of food. They started making mayonnaise sandwiches. Before Clay Aiken came out, he was a flameless fire. And when he came out, then it was out there. You know what I mean? Blame on. So anyway, all right. So here is some kids that were aboard this Carnival cruise ship talking about what it was like and all that stuff. We're now going to talk to two of the youngest guests aboard the ship. This is 8-year-old Caitlin and 11-year-old Ryan Harlan. And Caitlin, for you, what was the worst part of it? We had no electricity. That was the worst part. And that meant walking around in the dark with no elevator and all that, right? Yes. And we had to go downstairs many, many times with our luggages. Luggages. And how about for you, Ryan? What was the worst part for you? Not hanging with my chick. Probably waiting in line for gross food. Gross food. The food was gross. Well, what were you eating?
We were eating, like, for example, I one time had a sandwich with just cheese or a sandwich with jelly and butter. I call that lunch. What did you eat, Caitlin? Yeah, why would someone have a sandwich of butter and jelly? I don't know. I'm sure they got to choose what they wanted. You know, you have these options. What do you want, kiddo? Give me the butter and give me the jelly. Peanut butter and jelly. We don't have peanut butter. We've got regular butter. Are you supposed to refrigerate peanut butter? No. And regular butter you can leave out as well. I wonder if they burn through all that stuff. Salad. I did not like the rest of the food. I don't blame you. But he said he had a sandwich with cheese on it. Wow. That doesn't sound bad. Krill cheese. So tough. Maybe it was like the easy cheese, because doesn't cheese have to be refrigerated? It doesn't? Oh, yeah. You're probably right. I bet it was out of a... What about what people have to do every day? Shower and brush your teeth and, of course, use the toilet. How'd you get around some of that stuff, Caitlin? Well, I didn't take a shower, but I brushed my teeth and went to the bathroom.
How about for you? I didn't get to the shower, but the toilet didn't work for a couple of days. That's the worst part. Mikey just threw down his pen, his face is in his hands, and he doesn't know what to do with himself. Mike, what would you do if you didn't have a toilet? I don't know. I guess you lean off the side of the boat. Don't mind me, guys. Let's keep moving. Can I get a little privacy here, please? Please? He's in a crouching position. I mean, what do you do? What else? I don't know. I don't know how they would do it. And they announced that it worked. And before that, we had to just go to the bathroom and it'll be in the toilet. No. No way. No way. No way. That's what I'm saying. Scoop. That's awful. Cry for me if it smelled or just what? It smelled. I didn't really smell it. How about you? I smelled it. It smelled terrible. I can't believe this. That's the hard-hitting news right now. How did it smell? There's the drop we need right there. I smelled it. It smelled terrible. It's a great drop. Yeah. Well, all I can tell you is how do you make up for that if you're carnival?
Like, what do you offer? Free cruises the rest of your life. Who would they go? Yeah, no one wants to go. They can use them until, I think, a couple years from now. No one wants to. No. I'd never want to be on one of those boats again. Well, in this news article, it also said, you know, kids, a lot of kids liked it because there was this kid's camp. And they, like, got to play with their friends all day. And, you know. Yeah, I saw some of the guys interviewed, too, and they're like, that was great. No big deal. Really? Yeah. The elderly had a hard time. I bet. But some people, you know, get hung in there. I consider myself the elderly in terms of comfort. Creature comforts. You know? You have the same expectations. I do. I do have the exact same expectations. Santa Ana wins are back this weekend. Is that a bit? Or is that real? It's back. No, it's real. I mean, Santa Ana winds are a real thing. Yeah. Apparently, they were back a little bit last night. I didn't notice. But the Santa Ana winds, which are a real thing, yes. Okay. They bring back the heat, too. It's supposed to be in the 70s with the winds, mainly tomorrow on Saturday. Nice. Great. Great. Just in time for the weekend. There was a shooting drill at Warner Springs High School, and they're saying that it may have been too realistic. This is pretty crazy.
There may be mixed opinions on this. So there's a school in Warner Springs and it's a preschool all the way to 12th grade. So we have a wide variety of children here. Which, by the way, to me is the coolest thing. Really? You know why? Same school? Yes, because it makes me feel so comfortable and safe thinking that my kids would grow up with the same friends all from being little kids all the way to being in high school. The only thing that's weird about it is how would you really have a girlfriend? Or a boyfriend. Because you would always think of them as icky. Yeah. And as you got older... You remember them picking their nose in first grade? Remember when you picked your nose? Because you get something in your head, you never get them out of your head that way. Or it could be really sweet. When I was in elementary school, we used to play boys chase girls, girls chase boys. You used to play... kiss boys when they're sleeping. When I caught the boys, I would tackle them and be like, come on, come on, and try to kiss them. So maybe it would be really sweet. Nothing's changed. Nothing's changed.
I'm interested to see what you guys think about this because basically there was during one week, there was a letter passed out to the parents the week before and said, look, we're going to do a drill for school shooting and it's going to be pretty realistic. It's going to be crazy. There's going to be a deputy that's going to be posing as a school shooter with a cap gun and it's going to be unannounced and it's going to happen next week. But, you know, it's going to teach the kids what to do in case that happens because it's becoming a really realistic thing. It happens all the time, you know. And so one of the parents, only one parent pulled their kid from school the whole week because they didn't want their child to be around that. And everyone else showed up, all 235 students that go to the school. And they did it. And a deputy had the cap gun and, you know, pretended to be a school shooter. And they all knew it wasn't real. But, like, you know, it's still scary, especially if you're a little kid. You know who I want to interview? Who? That parent. That pulled him? Yeah. I want to know. Like, I want to know. I want to know. I want to know. Yeah, I mean, the sergeant spent three years organizing this hour-long drill. So there was a lot of thought going into it. You know, he didn't want to scare them. No one wants to scare them, but you want to make sure the students know. Why would a realistic police officer with a gun that looks real and sounds real firing off shots into a classroom, why would that scare anyone? No, but if you're warned, though.
You know it's coming this week. The kids know it's coming at some point, so you're like, okay, this is it. And if it's a cop and he's wearing a uniform, I feel a little bit safer. It's like a fire drill. I'm thinking back to when I was a teenager in high school. That would have been fun. I would have been stoked, and I'd be like, is it today? Well, think of all the... Kindergarteners. See, I'm thinking the preschoolers. The one that got, the student that got pulled out was only three. That's scary. How about being that one kid, too? It's like, hey, you didn't get to be here for the cool thing we did. Oh, he didn't, though. If he's three? Yeah. That's true. Yeah. But I think it's good because. I do, too. I mean, look what happened in Carlsbad. You don't want to think the worst, but those kids were scattering everywhere. They hadn't prepared for it. Now they know where to go. I'm sure they showed them all the things. Okay, so. There's a really, really. popular store that's going to be doing some free shipping if you order from them online on a lot of products. We're going to tell you who it is. Now, you've heard of high school coaches getting out of hand, abusing kids sometimes. It's been a story every once in a while. You'll hear about that kind of deal, right? Yeah, unfortunately. Well, I can almost guarantee you that what we're going to tell you about when we come back is the worst that you've ever heard.
Like, this will shock you. Absolutely. And there's video of it, and Todd will tell us about it in Woods on Sports. Todd's filling in for Woods today. And make some noise in here. Let's do it. On the Mikey Show with a live studio. I've got to say, this is the best studio audience I've been. They are so great. Such a good live audience. Very energetic. Absolutely. Cutlass will be performing live in this studio a little bit later on this morning. And this is Cutlass. And tonight I'm going to be with them at the show that they're doing at the Edge venue. And if you want to go, all you have to do is go to OutsideTheBowl.org and you can get tickets. And VIP tickets are $35. Meet and greet with Cutlass and me. And we'll give you some food while you're there.
And you also get early entry with that VIP, all the money going to starving kids in Haiti. So we're going to have Todd, who is Sienna's husband, filling in for Woods today because Woods is at a wedding. And he's going to be telling you about this really bizarre story out of, where did it happen? Mississippi, I think. Yeah. His high school coach. doing something that I think is pretty much completely insane. Word of the day today, Snickers, when you hear me say that, when you hear me work that into a sentence between now and 10, you will get a chance to win a $50 gift certificate and lift ticket and tickets to Snow Jam, and also get to go see the band Rolling with the Stones, which is a great cover band, Rolling Stones cover band. Okay, so Sienna.
Walmart? Is that the place? Yes. So what are they doing? This is a big deal. How many of you shop at Walmart for Christmas? A lot. Online, it's like the greatest. Well, they just announced yesterday that they're going to be having... Free online shipping on 60,000 holiday items with no minimum purchase required. Oh, wow. That's huge. I mean, they're really stepping it up. Like, good luck to all their competitors because no shipping fees? That's amazing. That's pretty awesome. And, you know, I'm sure there are some things that, you know, you are going to get charged for. They said that 60,000 holiday items. So, I don't know. It's pretty amazing because, you know, when you think about it, it's exactly like, you know, the deal with going to the Walmart yourself. Would be that you don't have to worry about the shipping and handling. Now it's like going, but from your house. Yes. It's great. And no lines, nothing. They're saying that it includes all electronics except iPods and iPads. There's a bunch of video games, select video games, toys, home appliances, furniture, baby products, jewelry, and other items. That's a lot of stuff without any charges for shipping. Yeah, for sure. So I'm not really familiar with the show Jersey Shore. I don't watch it. L.O.B.
I am familiar with it. Very familiar with it. By the way, just want to let people know, L.O.B. and I traveled into work together today, and that was not a plan. I was driving in, and I get a phone call from L.O.B., and she goes, hey, I just got a flat tire. And I go, where are you? She goes, I'm at my place. And I'm pretty close to her at that exact moment. Yeah, thankfully. Yeah, and so I went and picked her up. chef flat, and she got to see me wearing my bib. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. What bib? Nobody usually knows this or sees this. No one knows. Has your wife seen this bib? No. There was a little bit of a hesitation. He was like, okay, well, I'll come pick you up. And I was like, oh, no, no, am I going to get a lecture or something? I just want to let you know. You're going to have to see me wear a towel because I have a white shirt on and I'm drinking my coffee. What's the big deal if you spill a little coffee?
I'll be humiliated. And does it happen that often to where you need a bib? Yes. I was like sitting there being like, that's pretty smart. Think about how many times I had to spill coffee on myself. Yeah, that's what I am thinking. Before I brought a towel to the car. So it's just a towel. It's not actually a bib. I put my seatbelt on and I put a towel over myself. Staying perfectly still, of course. And I drive. drinking coffee with a big towel over me. It looks like a poncho. Why not just wear a towel over yourself driving to work? Yeah, it's my poncho. Why not just wear a real poncho? You should get a poncho. It was cool. I felt like I was on a ride. Did you, L.O.B., did you... Were you embarrassed when you would look over and see me wearing a towel? No, I thought it was a great idea. In fact, it's one of the reasons I don't drink coffee in my car anymore because I used to spill like every morning and I hadn't thought of the whole bib idea. Yeah, the bib works great. L.O.B. is the only one on the show that would not give you a hard time for that. I think you were so lucky that Lutz or I or Jay were not in the car. Oh, yeah. I was cracking. I was like walking through my neighborhood all quietly because I didn't want to wake up my neighbors and be like, ha, ha, ha.
But I was giggling when he first told me. Well, this is what's great to me. I know everybody on the show so well. I know exactly what everybody would say when they open the door. And I can hear Woods in my head going, really, dude? Yeah. Really? Really? With a towel? Okay, so Jersey Shore has a person on it. Name the situation. Situation's in good. Like the situation. And he's in good shape. He is. He's got some abs. Yeah. Well, he's putting out a workout video. Of course he is. Oh, wow. I counted. You're going to hear the word, the situation, 15 times. Oh, no. He's smart. By my calculations. No, man. I'm thinking right after the workout, bro, you think there's a chance we could... You know, have a situation with, you know. I think that we could certainly be situated. Mike the Situation Sorrentino, star of MTV's hit reality show Jersey Shore and personal trainer, releases his first ever workout DVD. This workout is no joke, okay? No joke. The first video of its kind, the first. The Situation workout offers five intense workouts. This is the demonstration of the situation. Choose from wrist upper body. Let's go.
This is the correct spotting technique from the situation, okay? Juiced glutes and legs. The gluteum maximus situation right here. Killer arms. We don't want that jiggle behind our arms, and that's what this is for. Awesome abs. In this video, there are no rules. We're having fun. We're making it happen. Insane abs. Come on, three, this is abs. Two, everybody loves the situation. Some of the most famous abs in America right here. And the situation's own secret recipe for his famous six-pack. If you don't love the situation, I'm going to make you love the situation. Make it a good situation over here. Oh, we definitely will later. Wow, this guy. Everybody's got their own situation. It's just time to show it. Get a total body workout and have your own abdominal situation in no time straight from the man, the myth, the legend. From my situation to your situation, you're that much closer. To a situation. Wow. The situation workout. Now available. Guy's worth millions of dollars. He has ruined the word situation. I know. You know what? I think that will actually do pretty well. I would do it. Yeah. I would do the situation workout. I would have a body like the situation. We should do it together. Would you? I would. I would like that. You'd buy the DVD. Yeah. I don't know if you'd do the workout. Yeah.
Well, hey, now hang on a second, Jay. Let's discuss because this was interesting to me. Okay, so Jay is doing P90X with his wife. Yeah. All right? Now, he said the problem with it is it makes him want to eat. I want to eat all the time. It's good. You're bringing calories. It's a hard workout. I know, but I'm not losing any weight. I'm just like, oh, food. Now I feel like I can cheat. I can eat as much as I want. So, Jay, how long have you been doing it? You know, we're not sticking to the hardcore everyday plan. Everybody that I've talked to. Yeah. That does P90X. And I've talked to probably no less than five people that have done P90X. Every time I talk to somebody about it and I say, now, are you doing what they go? Well, the conversation, the statement always begins with, well, dot, dot, dot. Who? I want to meet one person. Hey, listen, P90X is not a suggestion. This is the way we're doing it. OK, so. Basically, what we've done is over the last three weeks, probably, we've done six workouts. But what happens is I'll go surf, and I'll go surf for two hours. Over how many weeks? Over like three weeks. You've done six? I've done six over three weeks. So two a week.
So about two a week. So on the other days, like yesterday I ran with... It's P12X. I know. Mike's like, this doesn't count. But he's also working out other days. He's just not doing the hard course. So I'm not into it. I made that commitment. It's a great workout. Yeah. I mean, it's a great workout. They're doing things that you wouldn't think would be as hard as they are. Yeah. Like yoga. I'm kicking a... Well, yoga, I usually go to a real yoga class when I want to do that part of the workout. But there's just easily the plyometrics where you just kick over a chair. No big deal. Keep doing it. Yeah, keep doing it. It kills you. It has you kick over a chair like a bunch of times? Yeah, you just do one leg over a chair, and then the other one follows, and you just go back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. How long do you do that? It's probably only 30 seconds. I mean, each thing is like 30 seconds, and it's just really fast moving. You're lifting weights, then you go do over, do as many chin-ups as you can do this way, and then this way. I had surgery August 24th, and I stopped working out two weeks before the surgery. I'm going back today for the first time since two weeks before that. Are you nervous? Nervous isn't even the word, Sienna. Terrified. I'm terrified. You're sick to your stomach? Yeah, and I've talked myself out of canceling twice. Don't cancel. You've got to get back on the horse again. I'm going to get back on the horse. You were so happy when you were working hard and you were loving it. Yeah, next week I'm going to start with that same bit that I used to do. I'm going to come in here with cheese.
and eggs. Stinky, hard-boiled eggs. You would eat those in the hallway. But I lost weight when I did it, you know? And I actually had muscles and now I have a lot of fat. I have a lot of fat where the muscles were. And so I'm going to try to get back to where I was. We all need to. We should. New Year's resolution. No, I'm starting now. I can't wait till. But we'll get in shape for the new year. Alright. All right. Today, Todd is filling in for Woodsy on Woods on Sports. Todd is Sienna's husband. And so he's filling in today. Like a proud parent. Todd, Todd, Todd. Todd, Todd, Todd. Todd on Sports. Woo! Oh, I love the intro. That's right. Well, today's sports is brought to you by Clearview and Laser Medical Eye Center. Yeah. Sweet. Before we get to that story Mikey mentioned earlier, let me give you a rundown on some of the scores from last night. In the NFL action, Atlanta beat Baltimore 26-21 last night. Really wasn't much of a game until the fourth quarter. Matt Ryan was 32 for 50, 316 yards, and three TDs. Yeah, I had to play him in fantasy football. That was awesome. I'm playing our program director, Garrett! Garrett!
And he has Ryan Matthew. Three touchdowns. It's great. It was a great game. Yeah. In NBA action, Boston beat Miami for the second time this year already. 112-107. Miami's big three is not playing real good. One and three right now in the last four games. I don't know what's going on in that. Yeah. And my... Lakers did not do so well last night against Denver. They blew with a big lead they had in the third quarter. They were outscored 33-19 in the fourth quarter. They lost 118-112. Todd, if you had to predict it now, do you think that if you had to, if I put you up against it, you had to predict now, do you think it'll be the Heat and the Lakers in the finals? Well, definitely the Lakers. I don't know. I think Boston. You think Boston will beat the big three? I think so, yeah. They've got two O'Neals, Jermaine and Shaq. I think those two are going to make a big difference when it comes playoff time. And this is the Lakers' first loss, right? Yep, first loss for the Lakers. Man, they're good. Yeah, I guess they are. Love those Lakers. It's the third loss for the Heat? Third loss for the Heat. All right, what else is going on?
Well, there's a big story out right now. Marlon Dorsey, who is a coach of a Mississippi high school boys basketball team, has been accused of beating his players. Whipping them. Whipping them. Whipping them. Now, when he says accused, like there's video of it. Yes. Yes, there's a cell phone video that has been out. And, yeah, there is clear view of this coach paddling players. Yeah. What it is is a weight training belt. This weight training belt weighs 10 pounds. And these are high school kids. These are high school kids. Yeah, I've seen it. And I didn't know until you said that what he was whipping them with. That thing would hurt. Oh, yeah, man. I mean, whatever it is that he's whipping them with looks extraordinarily painful. How could he think that that's okay? Well, and my deal, too, is they see it got suspended, right? Right, he's suspended. But my deal was. How do you not get arrested? Yeah. Assault. That seems so strange. In high school, they're under 18. You know, those are kids. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, and he's even come out with a quote here saying, I took it upon myself to save these young men from the destruction of self and what society has accepted.
and become silent to the issues our students are facing on a daily basis. I am deeply remorseful of my actions to help our students. Oh, wow. So he really thinks this is the right thing to do. Oh, my gosh. You guys think Woods would be okay with somebody whipping his kid? 100%. Yeah, he would flip his mind out. Yep. What else is going on? Oh, and other news. I don't know if you guys remember this story. I think Woodsy reported on it last week or two weeks ago that Aaron Mabian, who was voted the worst NFL player. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah. He was the, he plays for the Bills. Yes. And they said that he was the, statistically. Poor guy. He was the worst player in the NFL. And now he's attempting to become the worst rapper alive as well. Oh, my gosh. We actually have audio of this. It's cut one. Oh, no. Oh, no.
Craven. Go hard. Crazy. Defensive. West Craven. That old line can't save him. He stay misbehaving. You go hard. He go harder. Not better. Sergeant Slaughter. Bill's bottom. Joe's bottom. Party hard. No bottom. We'll be right back. Oh my. I don't listen to rap and stuff. So to me, this doesn't sound bad. Like if I heard it, I'd be like, it's all right. Oh my gosh. I do not like this. Really? I don't hate it. Listen, this is what I'm used to. This is what I'm used to when it comes to NFL players rapping. You probably remember this time. Super Bowl shuffle. Super Bowl shuffle. Horrible. 1985.
But how great was the dance that went along like this? The video? It was the worst thing I'd ever seen and still is. It still is. They're all in their uniforms. Clapping all the time. Dude, still to this day, I don't think there's anything worse than that Super Bowl shuffle. It's terrible. It's hilariously bad. Oh, that's it. It's hilariously bad. What else going on? Oh, we got a couple stories on Brett Favre, of course. He's always in the news. He was interviewed yesterday, and he was asked if he would return in 2011. Brett Favre said no. So, of course, he always says that every year. I think this will be the last year. I have a feeling. Probably because of the scandal. I think so, for sure. He's over it. Yeah, the weird thing about Favre is, is that when July rolls around, and all the guys are going back, he's weird. He's just weird. Even in the interview, he had mentioned about how they had to come back last week, and he just said that there's no feeling like that that you could ever have anywhere else. So it makes you think it kind of still leaves it open. He's addicted to it.
The other story on Brett Favre is that Jen Sterger girl that we all heard about who came out and accused him of sending nasty photos and inappropriate text messages. She met with the NFL yesterday. No details have come out on that yet, but I'm sure we'll hear more soon. Yeah, we will. And what else? The other big story in sports right now is Cecil Newton. This is a crazy story, and this audio that we have is really nuts. This is Cam Newton? This is Cam Newton. Oh, Cam Newton, sorry. His father is Cecil. I was like, Cecil, is that his real name? Well, check it out. Okay, so Cam is this player for, who does he play for now? Auburn. Auburn. And the story was that his dad was looking for money for him to play for a school? Yeah, basically he was playing at a junior college before this. Now he wanted to go to a Division I school. His father started getting involved in the recruiting process with Mississippi State and wanted money. And there's actually audio and proof that this happened. All right, so this is a former Mississippi State player, and he went on ESPN Radio yesterday in Dallas, 103.3 ESPN Radio in Dallas, and basically dropped a nuclear bomb.
he said this. Did he ever tell you flat out, this is what it's going to take for any school to get my son to go sign a letter of intent and play for them? Yes, he did. How much was it? Anywhere between $100,000 and $180,000. To go play college football, to sign a letter of intent? Basically to get his son. Holy cow. Holy cow. It's hard to say what Auburn really paid him. Yeah. Yeah, and the kid is an incredible football player. Great player. Incredible football player. So, anyway, that's... Feel bad for him. He was the No. 1 choice for the Heisman this year, and with this going on after what happened to Reggie Bush, his chances are real slim right now. I agree. Okay, when we come back, this is going to be good audio. I purposefully have not listened because I want to hear it when we come back. Kanye West, he goes on the Today Show yesterday. And Matt Lauer shows him something that really upsets him. So Kanye gets really upset. And you're going to hear his reaction, what upset him, what he did. And then they're like rolling B-roll. After he gets upset, they're rolling B-roll. And Kanye can see that they're rolling this. He gets mad again. Make some noise in here. Welcome back. It's the Mikey Show. I was just telling.
everybody here in the studio that I came home yesterday and my wife Rebecca had bangs. I can't believe that. It's a bold step. I know. I bet she looks good in them. She does. And she didn't know that she was going to do it. She went there and got talked into it. It looks good though. I could never decide something like that at the last minute. I need to know what I'm going to go in there for and be prepared. I get talked into everything. Yeah. I might have... suggested that at some point she dye it red. What? What? She looks good as a blonde. What? Yesterday you did? Uh-huh. What did she say? She goes, really? And I go, that'd be cool. That'd be different. Why's your voice so wrong? She looks really good. She's like blonde blonde. She's blonde blonde. And she goes, why? And I go, I don't know. I don't know. It would look cool. She goes, because of Allison Hannigan? Mike's love. And I go, no. And it really wasn't. Allison Hannigan? I just like red hair. I just think it's cool. That makes my mouth warm. Join the club, Rebecca. Is that okay to say? I've seen it kind of reddish before, actually. Yeah, and sometimes she'll put kind of darker streaks. But my question is, is it okay for a husband to... Yeah.
I think it's okay. It just makes you think maybe that, oh, so you don't like me with blonde hair. Oh, no, I do. You know? Yeah. I do. But I would like to, I used to ask Matt all the time because I've played around with my hair color all the time and I would be like, what do you think about brown? And he'd be like, I just like change, so whatever you do, you know. Yeah, just yesterday I said to Todd, I was like, I think it's time I go lighter. It's getting really dark because I couldn't dye it the whole time I was pregnant. And he's like, yeah, it's time. Yeah. Yeah. Well, it's not like I said, hey, you know, maybe you become an Asian or a Latina. You know, I just, I thought, you know. There's hair. There's hair. Yeah. You know. You're growing yours out. Why not have her make a change? Looking real good, Mikey. How did you say it is what I want to know. I don't remember. It's all in the approach. Yeah, very true. Call her and ask her if it was all right, Jay. I'm freaking out if I. Do you want to talk to her or do you just want me to check for you? All right, I'll talk to her. I was fearful that it was like not okay to say. Are you now because Lauren said that or were you worried last night too? I was worried last night because I've never tried that out before. I would kind of like it. I would like it and then I would be like, I might for a split second be like, so does that mean I look like crap now? Of course. Every girl would say that. Yeah.
Every girl thinks that? We do, but we know that you don't really. Yeah, of course I don't. But we would be like, oh, what? So my hair's not good enough? I would say it out loud to get your honest reaction. If you were like, no, you look great. But if you were like, no, no, no, no. I just thought maybe it'd be cool. Yeah, I definitely didn't do that. Okay, good. I like it. All right, so here is Kanye getting annoyed yesterday when he was on the Today Show. He got annoyed with Matt Lauer. When they started talking about President Bush. Yeah, weird. What I wanted to speak to with Bush was just to say that I empathize with the idea of being pegged as a racist. Just play the tape. Don't even listen this time. I want you to just look at his face when he is commenting about you. And just look at him. I mean, this is the most emotional he got during my entire three and a half hour interview with him. What would you say to him if he would meet with you face to face? And I'm not sure he would, but if he would. You know, I mean, I didn't need you guys to show me the tape in order to prompt my emotion to what I'm going to say. I'm just asking you, when you look at his face, what would you say to him? I mean, pre-looking at his face, I came up here because I wanted to say something to him right after the fact. You know, I would say... So they're showing him video of Bush. Yeah. But they're not playing the audio. They're just showing him the video of President Bush getting really upset. Yep.
When this topic of Kanye calling him a racist by saying President Bush doesn't care about black people during Katrina and just seeing the emotion on his face is upsetting Kanye. It's like I don't have to do the TV stuff with me. This is reality. This is this is the real thing going on. This is, you know, I'm saying I don't I don't need all the jazz. I have something to say about that. Yeah, he's on the very same show. So if he's saying that that that's TV and that's sensationalized, then. Wouldn't he say that his interview is in a sense kind of glamorized as well? Yeah, he's doing it too. He's doing the same thing. Why discredit the interview from a few days before? It's the same show, the same interviewer and everything. Yeah. I would say to... Can we be quiet for a second? Oh, wow. Oh, wow. Diva. He's such a diva. He bugs me. Connie's a strange cat. Get over yourself. I would tell George Bush...
and my moment of frustration that I didn't have the grounds to call him a racist. He is a strange cat. He is. And a very, it sounds like, needy individual. You know, I remember hearing one time from somebody, there are people that are in need, and then there are people that are just needy. And there's a difference between the two. Okay, so in this next clip, what you hear is, so they stop playing the Bush thing, right? They stop playing it. But then as they continue with the interview with Kanye, they start to roll it again. And he gets upset all over again. Yeah, eject. After our interview, Kanye fired off several tweets, including this one. Quote, I really wonder if Matt Lauer thought that blank was cool to play the MTV clip while I was speaking about Bush. End quote. Here's the moment Kanye's talking about.
We're alluding to when you walked onto the VMAs and grabbed the mic from Taylor Swift. And some people said this wasn't a guy expressing his musical preference. This was a guy who was making a statement about race, that Beyonce was better than Taylor Swift. And you got accused of racism. Yeah, exactly. And I just, and it was so funny to me that it could be a race thing because where I was expressing was my frustration from years and years of seeing, you know. Yo, how am I supposed to talk if you're going to run this thing in the middle while I'm talking? It's just, it's under. You won't be hearing it much. But I'm hearing it while I'm trying to talk. Okay, can you take the sound out of the overheads, please? Just pick up. You said it wasn't a race thing. Please don't let that happen. It's, like, ridiculous.
You know, it's something we do every day. When a guest is talking about an incident or a location, we run video of that location or that incident. There was nothing improper about it, nothing unusual about it whatsoever. I agree. Yeah. Of course you do. You got to. You have to. He handled it well, though, Matt Lauer. He was kind of like, all right, rise above. Yeah. Keep going. He did really well. Kanye handled it pretty well, too, didn't he? He turned that up. I don't like that. Please don't let that happen again. Oh, my gosh. My baby. My wife is on the line. Oh, good. Hello, darling. Hi, hon. How are you? I'm good. How are you? We were just talking about your hair. Yeah. Love your hair. I was worried when I came home yesterday. Now, did you hear us? Did you hear what I was talking about?
about that you suggested that I might dye it red. Yes. Now, I don't remember because L.O.B. asked, L.O.B. said, well, how did you say it? I don't remember. How did I say it? You know, I'm not sure that I remember either other than it was just something like, it was pretty casual. I knew he was joking, but... There was a little hint of seriousness in it, too. Just a little hint. Rebecca, I'm going to pull the curtain back. I'm going to pull the curtain back. Pull the curtain back. When you said you knew he was joking, he made a face. Oh, I know. I know. What is the face, honey? The face is, was I? She knows you so well. She knows me so well. It was the exact face. Was I? Big laugh right there. Totally kidding. I was totally kidding, was I? If she doesn't remember how you said it, you probably didn't say it wrong. Yeah. Okay, good. He knows. I don't really care. Yeah, she didn't care, right? Would you ever dye your hair red because he likes that? You know, I don't think so. I just, you know, I've changed my hair color a lot, but I just don't think that red is.
I like her as a blonde. I like her as a blonde. Maybe we see. You can do those computer simulated things where you put your face in and you can change all the hairstyles and everything. Oh, yeah, yeah. I guess I could see. Give it a whirl. Just get some wigs. You could just throw a different wig on every other day. Yeah, we have to remember, though, he's growing his hair out right now, and I don't really care for that. But she's being really cool. The kids will be like, where are my parents? Yeah, I wonder if that would be confusing. Is that something that all guys have? What? My husband's in the room, so now I'm thinking. You're like, oh, maybe my wife would look better as a redhead. Is this something that all guys think? Todd, would you ever be... Curious to see Sienna with a different hair color? I'm nervous. I'm nervous. Oh, yeah, absolutely. What color? Do you have, like, an envision? Like, I wish she would do this. Yeah, I just think real blonde, full blonde. Ew. Now, wait, now, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Just to see. Hang on. Hang on, hang on, hang on, hang on, hang on. That's so great. Okay, let's hang on. Hang on. Hang on. Question.
Because there's all kinds of blondes. Do you mean blonde like L.O.B. has, which is sort of a brown, a dirty blonde. Dirty blonde, yeah. Okay, so not platinum blonde, which is what my wife has. My wife is platinum blonde. So you're saying like the dirty blonde hair. Right, yep. Sienna, would you, look at Sienna. Sienna is in shock. I had no idea. Yeah. You would look good with this hair color, but not as light as Rebecca's. Yeah, super light. Yeah, I've had lighter hair, and I knew. that you liked it. It has never been as light as Lauren's though. No. Maybe I try. Will you? Really? I don't know. I don't know. Maybe the summer. Yeah. Summer. Why? Why the summer? What I need to remind you, Todd, is that... Hard D. Hard D. I'm in trouble. Is that roots come in, and this would mean I would need to go more, and it's going to add up in the wall-in. And so you can't complain when I'm like, okay, babe, take the kid for three hours. I need to go get my hair done and spend $300. Oh, I'm out. I would not be opposed to trying it, though. This is one of those deals where Rebecca
finding this out like oh I didn't know I didn't know yeah I'm gonna pull the curtain back with my honey Rebecca I found out recently because we were in her car and we were driving and Jake's in the back and you know she turns the radio on and apparently Rebecca hadn't told me but she likes Clint black And I had no idea that she liked Clint Black. The way he looks? Yeah. She's listening to him. And I go, Clint Black? So you're leaving her, right? No. I go, Clint Black? And she goes, yeah. And I go, is this on the radio? And she goes, no, it's on my iPod. And I go, you like... Clint Black? And she goes, yeah. It was as if she were eating a cheeseburger in front of me. She's a vegetarian. As if she was chopping on a cheeseburger. And I was like, you like cheeseburgers? Well, I'm sure she's thinking that because you're Mr. Miley Cyrus and you have all of these artists that no one would expect you to have. So she's like, what? I have one too. Get over it. Yeah. But, you know, to each their own.
But it brought up the topic and, you know, we'll put it out there to M1's 5701949. Have you ever found out something about your significant other that just made you laugh? Like you had no idea. It just happened to me. Yeah, you just found out. No, we have donuts. One of our amazing M1's brought in donuts. And I'm like, baby, you want me to get you a donut? Of course, I'm bringing him food, you know? Yeah. And he's like, yeah, get me one. And I come back in and I'm like, well, there's a lot. You just go pick. Out of all the assortment of donuts, maple, chocolate, sugar, he gets the plane, the one lone plane donut with nothing on it. What's wrong with that? Who knew? Who gets the plane donut? Yeah. Apparently your husband. He doesn't know it. Who's like, ooh, forget the chocolate. I want the plane. Right. Well, I heard something yesterday on the air about you that I never knew. What was it? You get into bed with dirty feet? I can't believe you've never done it. How did you not know? I don't check them before we get in. Yeah, I'm really bad. I'll walk because I'm all about being barefoot and I'll walk even outside and take the dog and it'll come back in with my bare feet and climb right into the bed. Rebecca and I will eat in bed. I do that. Right, hon? Yeah, we do. I enjoy it. I do too. I'll wake up.
And Rebecca will have those giant headphones on to not wake me up. And I'll hear... And she loves Tostitos. There's two things she loves in life. Tostitos and Clint Black. Just eating crumb cake in bed. A little coffee crumb cake. Real good. I do it all the time. I don't mix those two. Alright, honey. Thank you. Love you. Here's some Clint Black. Clint Black. Clint Black. That's so random. It was so random. I'm like, are you dating a cowboy? I know. I don't know it. I was dating a guy for like two years. And when I was younger, I was like kind of hardcore, like liberal, Democrat. Now I'm much more middle of the road. But we moved out here together. And he said to my sister, something came up politically. And he goes, yeah, because I'm a Republican. And I was like, no, he's kidding. He's not. He's not. He's like. Yeah, yeah. I'm a Republican. How did you not know? Because we were in college. You don't really talk about that stuff. And I was like, really? And I like seriously went home and was like, I don't know if I can date him anymore. Really? Yeah. He's like, yeah, I voted for. I was like, so you're saying when you went to vote, you voted for George Bush. He's like, yeah. And I was like, oh, my gosh. Deal breaker. Oh, my gosh.
Yeah. It was. Well, yeah. I'm shocked, though, that that didn't come up. Like, you know, and the reason I say that is because, like, that's one of the first things. It's that politics are everywhere, you know? Not when you're like, I mean, we went to the same school and we ran into each other, like, in class and at parties and stuff like that. So it wasn't like, hey, so who'd you vote for? Right. Yeah, I guess. You know, listen. It's one of the first things that I try to find out about people. In fact, the first time I had breakfast with you, I think I said to you, so how do you go politically? Yeah. And then I was like, well, you know, I'm kind of middle of the road. And you were like trying to be more direct. You're like, so how are you registered with the state? And I was like, I'm nonpartisan. And I go, okay, how do I put this? Not answering you at all. And the thing is, and the deal is, is that it didn't matter. You know, to me, it didn't matter. The only thing that I wanted to make sure of it was that we didn't have. everybody on this show be Republican. Yeah. Because that's ridiculous. You know, we can't have any conversations. Well, now I'm much more. There are some times where I have a Republican and conservative view. So I really do think I'm just nonpartisan. 570-1949. Call us if you found out something about your spouse that you just didn't know it. And you find out, or maybe your boyfriend, maybe your girlfriend, you find out that they're into something and you're like, really?
You like that? Yeah. And you had no idea. Jay, do you have any of those? I was thinking about it. Kim's all into the trance music. You know what I'm talking about? The clubbing. I got in the car the other day and it's like... And I'm like, I like it, but I was just like... And it was all that she played for the whole time I was in there. And you didn't really know? You didn't know she was into that? And then so I was like, wow, can we listen to something else? And then she... flips over to a radio station and then it's all like violin. It's like easy listening. I was like, who are you? Yeah. Well, I mean, I guess we go through phases or whatever, you know. I like it all. I would listen to Clint Black. I don't care. Really? I don't judge. I would not. I don't know. I don't know a single Clint Black song. I couldn't tell you this in a million years. I wouldn't know that this was Clint Black. I can see you looking at her. What is this? Yeah, my jaw dropped open. Yeah. And I was like, I go, what is this? She goes, Clint Black. It seems like the only thing you could really do to this music is square dance. Yeah.
What else would you do? Line dance. No, that's not true. Oh, yeah. Would you drive? Put your thumbs in your belt. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Let's do some line dancing. Yeah, exactly. Boots on. All you could do is thumbs in the belt and you just move. No. You could practice being a rodeo clown. I could two-step. You could definitely practice being a rodeo clown. Yeah. You could definitely shoot some Budweiser cans. Yeah. You could definitely take a shotgun and shoot a pumpkin to this. Oh, for sure. You could definitely chew on some hay. Yeah. You could definitely get a Budweiser foam mustache. Oh, easy. This is hound dog washing music. Yeah. You could definitely make a Mexican joke about me while listening to this music. You could definitely hang out at the back of a pickup truck. Oh, yeah. Drive your tractor through town to this music. Yeah. With your shirt off. Yeah. You could definitely bass fish for eight hours. I'm going to fill dress a deer to this music. Yeah, you could dress a deer while listening to this. Kiss your sister to this music. Okay. That's disgusting. Leave it to J.
How many times do you think that a deer has been skinned while listening to this music? You can't count them. You can't, you can't. How many times has a deer head been mounted over a fireplace to this song? To this music. Too many. Oh my. 570-1949. I wasn't mad at that. You like it. I think I'd listen to that. That's what I'm saying. Where would you listen? In my car. In your car? Yeah. You'd fall right asleep. That seems sad. Yeah, it is kind of sad. Sad cowboy. I like that. I don't like sad. I don't like Tori Amos sad. But I love country sad. Now, if I went down the street to Inca Hoots and that was on, I would be rocking. Hips swaying. I'd be having my thumbs on my belt buckle. Yeah, the little loops there. L-O-B, have you ever dated a cowboy? No. Never dated a country kind of guy? No, where would you find one? You guys, where would you find one? No, no, no, it's a valid question because, you know, L.O.B. grew up in New Jersey. Not too many cowboys. There's not a lot of cowboys. Now, I grew up in Gilroy, California, and there was cliques, okay? And there was cowboys, the 4-H guys. And they wore Wrangler jeans and cowboy hats.
I grew up in Texas. And they were tough, man. I grew up in San Diego and I dated one. Yeah? Todd just said it. Yeah, he knows. Did you save a horse? Ride a cowboy. Sorry, Todd. I know. Great. It's just my wife. The rodeos come to town in Ramona on Lakeside and, you know, you go and you have a great time. And I went with a group of friends and we each had our own little cowboy. Describe your outfit. Slowly. Okay. I wore jeans. Not Wranglers. What kind of jeans? Whatever I had. No, not whatever you had. You didn't wear sevens when you went to do this. You didn't wear Rockin' Republic when you went to do your cowboy stuff. I was in high school. I was junior, sophomore, junior is when we went all the time. And I wore, yeah, whatever I was wearing, seven jeans? Yeah, I wore them. I saw you had Wrangler jeans on. I never had Wrangler jeans on. Come on. Did you have the jacket with a fringe on it? No! Did you dress like Reba Mack? Well, maybe a couple times. What kind of skull did you dip? No. I wore regular jeans. I had a full belt buckle, like with a big buckle. Like a cow's head with horns? Yes, but the cow's head was made out of turquoise. Is that a true statement? I have it still. That's a true statement. True statement. I beg you to bring it in. I beg you to wear it in. I would wear it. It's beautiful.
Well, of course it is. It's solid turquoise. Where did you get it? My grandma gave it to me. It's Sedona, California from a Native American woman that chiseled it with a rock. My grandma is from Fort Worth, Texas, so she has all these things. And I had some flannel shirts that she had custom-made, handmade for her. Wow. Well, it's because you have big jugs. And they fit because, you know, it doesn't just run in my family. They gallop. So they fit. And I wore the other flannel shirt. I'd roll up the sleeves and I'd even tie it under my boobs. Cowboy hat? I want to tweet them. Yeah. Do you still have the cowboy hat? Yes. It's a Stetson. It's black. I would never get rid of that. Wow, Sienna. Sienna, you wore a black Stetson around? Yeah. Wow. That is hard. And I had cowboy boots. Did you have your name on the back of your belt? No, I wish. Yeah, I had that. Wow. Are you serious? Oh, yeah. I grew up in Texas. There's a picture of me in just the tighty-whities and boots like I was in kindergarten. Redneck. I'm standing on the front yard with a little cowboy hat on. No way. I could very easily find pictures, show them to you guys, post them. I don't care. It looked great.
I did not look as good. Jay sounds redneck. I was redneck. Yeah, I was like La Jolla cowgirl. La Jolla cowgirl. That makes sense. Oh my gosh. We got a lot of people on the line right now. The phone lines are blowing up. 570-1949 is our number. Go ahead and keep everybody that's on hold, Clint. Don't forget, Clint. What's on your mind? Wow. Could I really just say that? It's Clint. It's Clint. Do you think that we'll ever call him Clint again? Yeah. I didn't even notice that you said it. It's Clint. It's Clint. It's Clint. 5701949 is our number. Good luck getting through. Cutlass in the studio at 9. Movie Plot Hot Potato at 8.30. And that will be four Cutlass tickets for tonight. And make some noise in here with our studio audience. Let's make some noise in the studio. Very nice. Welcome back to Michael's show. Sienna, what's going on in news?
We all know Carrie Prejean, right? Yeah. She's pregnant. Is she really? Yes. She and her quarterback husband, Kyle Bowler, the Oakland Raiders quarterback, are expecting a baby in May. Oh, wow. First baby. So congrats to them. There you go. Also, if you didn't hear about this, pretty crazy. A tower in Ohio tumbled the wrong way. They were trying to demolish it. Yeah. And they were expecting it to fall one way and it fell the other way on top of a building housing backup generators. Oh, that's not good. Yes. No one was hurt, luckily. there were some detonated explosives. It was pretty crazy. Woodsy is out today because he's in South Carolina for a wedding. And Sienna's husband, Todd, who is a very big sports fan, was cool enough to come in. Help us out and fill in for Woodsy. So what do we got going on in sports? No Charger game this weekend, guys. So the key game for you guys to watch is Kansas City at Denver. Root for Denver. It helps you out in the division. Which we never want to do normally. Yeah, so do it this time, though. It's all right. For sure. Another big game this weekend, San Diego State Aztecs at No. 3, TCU at 1 p.m. You guys should tune in for that. Root for the Aztecs. They're doing good. It's 7-1 this year.
It's going to be a tough game. TCU has a number one D in the FBS, so it should be a big challenge. There you go. Jay, what do we have as a prize we could give away right now? Just a random prize. It could be anything. I have another pair of tickets to the Rolling with the Stones that we can give away. Okay. I'll give that away in just a second. Here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to play you this clip, and then we're going to get back to these calls. I want to take these calls on... Things that are strange that you just found out about your significant other. Your husband, your wife, your boyfriend, your girlfriend, or whatever. You found this out and you're like, what? I never knew that. It could be funny. It could be weird. It could be whatever. But in order to win that prize, you want to win tickets to go see this cover band, Rolling with the Stones. All you have to do is tell me, who is this singing? I'll give you a hint. It's a famous actress. 570-1949. If you can tell me what famous actress that is singing that. I'll give you tickets to go see that Rolling Stones cover band. Okay, so you're calling us right now to tell us, what did you just find out about your significant other? M1 Tom from Carlsbad. You there? Yeah. What did you find out? I've known my wife for 22 years. I've known her since I was 12. The other night, she's putting the baby down, and I think, oh, I'll make some snacks here. So I toast up some really nice bean and cheese burritos.
Put them in the oven. I'm like, oh, this is a good little snack food. My wife comes out. I present them, you know, with a big smile. I hate beans. Don't you know that? You didn't know in 20-some years that your wife doesn't like beans? Well, the guy that finishes her food, you know? So I never realized if she didn't, she would eat a little off one. So I figured, will you order them? And she's like, I hate beans. Wow. I don't think there's anything left that I don't know that my wife doesn't like. But it's easy for me because she likes four things. That's true. And so, but just the fact that it's beans is funny. Yeah. Because they're the magical fruit. And they come up all the time, beans. It's not like an uncommon thing. They're everything. I'm not a huge fan. I try to sell her on it, you know, because I see her eating it and all these other, you know, items. And she's like... Yeah. Nicely done. I'll never forget that. How come you don't like them, L.O.B.? I don't know. I just don't like the consistency of them. I like refried ones that are like mushed up, but I don't like, I don't know, skin on the beans. Black beans?
I'll eat them. I mean, I will because they're just prevalent, but I can do without them. That's my new favorite. Like a trumpet. You know what I think is interesting? What? Is the ones that get L.O.B. Because she can hear 10. And they don't make her laugh. But then she'll hear one. The one that you talked about on your camping trip that was so sudden that almost sounded like a fart. I mean a cough. Now that one was good. What? Oh, were you not hearing that? I didn't hear that. I need to know. Just remembering it. Just remembering it makes me laugh. I had never been. Oh, you'll laugh, Sienna.
I'm dying. I need to know. Okay. So I had never, I had never been in a cabin before. Okay. I'd never gone to, well, I'd never been camping. Like, you know how there's summer camps? I'd never been on one of those things where you're in there with like, you know, seven guys or whatever. Oh no. Okay. So I just did this thing and I'm up there. And I wake up, it's like five o'clock in the morning, right? And I'm in a bunk bed. Top or bottom? Weird. Bottom. Okay. And so there's, oh, that made me feel weird. And so there's, you know, I mean, there's seven of us in there. Yeah. And this guy is sleeping. And he farts, but it goes, it goes, bah! They're all different now. Like a quick punch in the face. It was so sudden. It was like a weapon of mass destruction. Oh, wow. Uh-oh. And it really, it really started. It legitimately and genuinely startled me where I kind of jumped a little bit. Wait, what, did you like laugh out loud? Oh, yeah. Or did you pretend like you didn't hear it? It was such a surprise. Uh-oh.
It made me, oh, my gosh. Nobody go in the bathroom for about 35, 45 minutes. Yeah, it was something else. Farts are funny. They are. And I talked to a friend yesterday, and he said, yeah, he goes, I think that God intended for our farts to be funny because babies laugh at them. They do. They do. They're hysterical. Some girls don't get it, but. To me, there's nothing funnier than a fart. When they're home, they do get it. Every girl, I think. Hey, by the way, because you just said that randomly. Ever just rabbit trail mic? Do you know people, and I won't say her name because my wife would kill me. I really won't. But we have a friend who has been dating a guy for two years. He's never said, I love you. And she was wondering if that's unusual. Yeah. Does she love him? Yeah, yeah, she does. And they've talked about it. And he says that he's not an I love you guy. And that when he grew up, he didn't hear a lot of I love yous around the house. I mean, it's one thing.
If they've talked about it, which I hope they have, because I'm sure she's wanted to say it by now. She does. Oh, she does say it. She does say it, and he doesn't say it back. She's strong. Yeah, that would be hard for me. Yeah, he does the thank you bit, and he said that he does. Thank you. Well, here's the deal. He says that his dad and his mom, he never heard them say that. It doesn't matter. I didn't hear it a lot. I think when I was a little kid and then this whole adolescent period, it was not said. And then my parents just started saying it a couple years ago when I moved away. Really? Same here. What do you mean, Jay, that you just started? Well, I mean, it was 2000, you know, some early 2000, and I was... My mom and dad just never said it. We never said it as a family to each other. And you're saying that you started saying it with Kim or your parents started saying it to each other? Oh, Kim and I said it from the first day we met, pretty much. But then everybody else, my parents were just out.
They just would never say it. They would hug you, and everything is a family, but no one ever said it. I know people that are like that, whose parents, they don't really say it to them, but I don't know anyone who they don't say it to their girlfriend or their husband. But I never had a problem with boyfriends saying it, didn't I? But then when my parents say it, even for a while, they would say it, and I'd be like, goodbye. I was the one who started saying it to my parents. I was like, I love you. You'd hear them, we love you too. I was like, you better. You better. By the way, we have an answer to the celebrity that was singing. This is M1 Steve from Old Town. Who was it? I had a feeling. She's good. She's really good. Isn't she big friends with Madonna? Yeah, I think so. Yeah, she is. Hang on the line. Hang on, Steve. So you can call in about either one of these things. The things that you're finding out about your significant other. Or you can call in about this. Is it weird? Yes, it's weird. I would have a really hard time, yeah. Does she intend on marrying this guy? I think so. I couldn't marry somebody that hadn't told me that they loved him. They're not going to either.
That's the thing. They're not going to. They were not raised in an environment where that was normal and it's not normal. I buy that. Yeah, I buy that and maybe it's hard for you, but maybe you overcome it because maybe you care about this person and it's a big deal. That's why with the total different direction. Because I've told my kids I loved them from the get-go and we still, either older and they still, I love you. What if it makes you uncomfortable? To say it to a woman that you're in love with? Yeah. What if it makes you uncomfortable? Rise above. Go to see a therapist. It's always awkward, no matter who you are, the first time you say it. And then even for the first couple months when you start saying it to someone, you're like, by the way, I love you. But if the other person's already saying it, the pressure is off. Yeah, exactly. L.O.B., would you ever be capable of being the first to say it? I never have been. So I think I probably will have always waited. So if a guy didn't say it, you would never? I don't think so. Really? You too, Sienna? No, I almost did with him. I tried with Todd, who's in here. And I said, you know, I was like, I have to tell you something. Hey, can I say something? And he would be like, yeah. And I would set it up. Did he know? Did you know, Todd, what she was going to say? I knew what she was going to say. For like a week, I kept trying. I was like, hey, babe. And he'd be like, yeah, babe. Nothing. Or I'd like come up with something else because I like, I needed to say it. But you knew. Oh, I knew.
And then one night he had been out of town for a couple days because he used to travel for work. And he came home and I was like, I'm going to say it. I'm going to say it. Why can't I say it? And so I was like, babe. And then I stopped myself as I've kept doing. And then he's like, and then he saved me. He's like, I love you. And I was like, yes, I didn't know to say it. Oh, that's great. That's great. Yeah. So how long had it been? A week. No! No, I mean, no, no. But while you were saying it, 45 minutes. No, no, no. No, I meant how long you were trying to say it. I was struggling for like, yeah, a week. And then he finally saved me. But we were together for like three months or something like that. Four. That's usually like the jumping off point. Four. Three months, people start to be like, I should probably start thinking about saying this. Let's see. M1 Angela is on the line from San Diego. And what did you just find out about your husband or boyfriend? It's my husband. We literally just got married last month. And what did you find out? I found out that we had been dating before we got married five years. And what I found out was that just a few months ago, we were talking about movies for whatever reason. And I cry at basically every movie I see. And I asked him, I said, have you ever cried at a movie? And he said that the first movie he ever cried at was Top Gun. Oh, wow. Oh, wow. When Goose died? Yeah, when Goose died. I knew it. He was like, I was.
I was like, how old are you? He said he was like, I think he said he was like 14 or something. Oh, wow. Just imagine him sitting alone watching it. That was sad. That was sad. I know. I was like, I felt so bad for him. Didn't get me. No? He was like embarrassed, though. Thank you for the call. Thank you. Maybe he had like that best friend, you know? It's like, oh, it got me when Goose died. I was like, you, you, you, you. Didn't get me. That was his wingman. Come on. I went on a date to the movie Titanic. Bad decision. Very bad decision. Really bad decision. Long movie and sad. Hold on. She let go, though. I'll never let go. I know. She let go. I hated that scene. What a hose beast. Maybe you hold on to his hand. Yeah. After all. But that water's so cold. And he let you. Get onto that gigantic door. He could have fit on that door. I'm sorry. He could have fit. Of course, but Rose. Selfish. Was it that there just wasn't enough room with Rose on there? She didn't want to try. Women. She didn't want to try. No, just Rose.
Drown in the icy water every time. The worst scene is when you see him sinking down. He's like blue. Thanks for the room, though, buddy. Keep your painting. Yeah. Guess you're the diamond of the ocean now, right? The heart of the ocean. You know that, Mike. The heart. The heart of the ocean. M1 Mobile from Temecula. Hey, what's going on? Not too much. Yeah, I met my... She's my wife now. I met her about... Almost three years ago. And after about five or six months of us dating, it was getting real serious, you know. And right after the I love you stage, I found out she was incarcerated for about two years. Oh, wow. What? doing a lot of drugs. Oh. Yeah, she was trafficking and all kinds of stuff. Oh my gosh. So did she go, oh, I didn't tell you that? Yeah. Oh yeah, I used to be a drug trafficker. How did you find out? How did it happen? She asked me, I was just, it was actually the day after I got out of the military.
She goes, hey, you want to go somewhere with me? And I was like, sure. Tunnel in Tijuana. Yeah, tunnel in Tijuana. She goes, kind of dressed nice, so I put on a tie and everything. And we went to the courthouse in Temecula. She had to go to a court date to get all... Wait, wait, wait. So you didn't even know until you got there? You didn't even know? Yeah, no, I had no idea. She was just like, where are we going? She was like, oh, we're going to go take care of something. We're going to go out to eat. So we got there and she was like, just sit out here. And I was just like, what am I doing? You know, what's going on? I sat out there for like 45 minutes and then she comes walking out with a big smile on her face. All her charges got dropped and everything. So she was happy and treated you to Applebee's. That's funny. That's exactly where we went. Wow. Oh, my God. Wow. That's pretty awesome. Wow. What did you order? Do you remember? Alice Spring Chicken. What do you recommend over there? You know, they got the $20 for two people now. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for that. Are they still together? Yeah, you guys still together?
Oh, yeah, man. You know, like you all, you know, the past is the past, man. And we've got an 11-month-old little girl. Everything's perfect. Yeah. That's so good. You got your trafficking, trafficking, trafficking, trafficking charge. Hey, hang on a second. This is M1 Halix. Is that how you pronounce it? Jalex. Yeah, J-A-L-E-X. Jalex. Good morning, guys. Good morning. Basically, I wanted to go back to the whole I love you part. You say that your wife, Becca, has a friend that the girl is complaining that the guy is not saying I love you too much, right? At all. He's not saying it at all. Oh, okay, at all. What I wanted to comment on is that I've been in relationships where the girls would say it way too much. Now, I just wanted to know if this girl was one of those girls that just overly used the words I love you. I did when I was a kid. I liked this girl and I told her I loved her. I overloved her. You overloved her. Yeah, I overloved her. And, you know, but not since I was a kid. And I've never obviously had a girl tell me too much. But how much is too much? I say it constantly. I say it all the time. Constantly. I doubt she probably doesn't say it anymore because she knows it's not going to be reciprocated. So she probably doesn't say it that much. I love you. I love you. Do you love me? Hi there, mother.
I love you. Just like that guy. Just like that guy, I also was raised, actually I was raised where we rarely ever said it. I was also raised where it was to show any sort of emotion. Yeah. Yeah. To me, whenever I'm into a relationship, I don't say I love you fairly quickly, and I rarely do say it, but that doesn't mean I don't love you. When you go home tonight, drop a big I love you. With a kiss. Thank you for the call. Maybe flowers. All right. Diamond ring. We got some good stuff coming up for you. Russell Crowe gave a very inspirational speech to the University of Michigan, and they won the game because of his speech in the locker room before the game. And you want to know what he said to them? It actually had to do with a sound more than anything else. So we'll tell you all about it. We got a live studio audience in here. And Cutlass is coming in here to play in an hour, so don't go away. I ever do that before? That's okay. Don't queue up the song. Welcome back, everybody. It's the Mikey Show with a live studio audience in here. Let's see here. So, yeah, in just a second, we're going to be telling you about what did Russell Crowe say to the University of Michigan?
Football team to get them so inspired they went out and won the game. Beat up on Notre Dame. Speaking of Notre Dame, Woodsy is a big Notre Dame fan. Woodsy's out today. He's going to be at a wedding in South Carolina today. Cutlass will be playing at 8.30 this morning. We'll be doing a movie plot hot potato at 9 o'clock. Don't forget, word of the day today is Snickers. So when you hear me say the word Snickers between now and 10, call her 9. You get to go see Rolling the Stones. I wish I had a dollar for every time I heard you say Snickers. That's right. You would be a very wealthy man. Okay. So yeah, so Russell Crowe is at the University of Michigan and has the opportunity to go in and give a little pep talk to the guys. Here's what he said. Yeah, well, see, I walked into the dressing room and I didn't know what I was going to say to these guys, but I had this.
a driver called Patrick in Washington, and I'm going towards the airport, and I said, what am I going to say to these kids, you know? And he goes, well, Mr. Crowell, the Wolverine has no natural predators. And he just started talking to me. I'm like, how lucky am I? I've got this fountain of knowledge right here. So I took all these things that Patrick the driver said, went into the dressing room, and ramped it up, and sort of added a little... gladiator thing there you know yeah because it was this sort of cool thing i thought i wonder what it sounds like if i get them to tap their pads yeah while i'm talking uh-huh so they started doing it and it was this cool sound like wow oh cool i can work with that so i had a little chat with them and stuff and and and vibed them up and they went out and they just kicked notre dame's butt 50 points i think reed just went to notre dame yeah and his kid this kid too for sure i know he did um so speaking of notre dame We're going to talk to Woodsy about this because Sienna put in her recap that her parents have a debate going on right now. Yes. They got an 11-year-old dog named Roxy, okay? Oh, Rox. Roxy's been limping around in pain for the last few days, so Sienna's mom took her to the vet, found out that she has a torn ligament, $3,000 surgery. Ouch. Yeah. Problem is, Roxy's getting old, more and more problems recently. Yep.
Still an active dog and everything, right? Yep. Still loves to play and go on walks. Yep. But the problems have been happening more and more. And Sienna's dad does not want to pay $3,000. Smart man. It's expensive. He thinks it's crazy because the dog's getting older. And your mom cannot even fathom or imagine not paying. That's her dog. That's our dog. That's Roxy. We love her. She's been around for 11 years. So how do you decide what to do? Gee, I wonder what Woods. Oh, yes. Woods, are you there? How you doing, buddy? Everybody say, hey. What's up, Mike? He's doing his own show there. We've all seen the leprechaun. That's right. How you doing, buddy? I'm good, man. We just finished the 15th hole, and we are going to 16 right now. That's great. Happy birthday, pal. Yeah, we're just in the trenches here. Being dynamic. I'm having all my boys from Vegas and in this British.
guy that's been drinking for 24 hours straight. It's a lot of fun. It's a lot of fun. He has called me Kevin James the entire time. Woodsy looks like Kevin James. Paul Blart? Yeah, the night should go pretty well. Be different. Be different. Be different. Be different. Slid his throat, plain as blood. So, Woodsy... 100%. We need your help, Woods. We need your help on this. Well, Woodsy is an animal lover, man. I mean, he loves animals. And so we were just talking about this deal with the debate between Sienna's mom and her dad. Sienna's mom wants to pay three grand to get an 11-year-old dog a ligament surgery. And her dad says, no, it's too much. What would you do? He's upset. He's upset. What if it was like 10 grand, Woods? I guess, Beth, without being in a lot of pain, you know, I don't think I can put a dog down for anything, really. That's the hard thing. It's like, well, what do you do? She's hurt, you know. You can't. I mean, I think if you get a foot. I mean, it's, you know, dogs are part of the family, too. That's so, I mean, my parents, they could do it, but it's also like, okay, well, I have a sister who's a senior in high school. She's going off to college. Like, that's a lot of money. Is it life-threatening? It's just a ligament, right? Yeah, but she can't really walk, you know, and so it's.
She's in pain. You know, you don't want her in pain, you know, and I just don't think I could put one of mine down. I just don't have to have Jay do it. But what if you didn't have to put her down? Hey, if you had a ligament torn, I'd put you down, Woods. I know, exactly. So, Jay. I'm going to tear this British guy's ligament in half. Jay, what is your philosophy on this? Well, I just went through this recently. I lost two dogs in one year, and I had to put them both down. Because of the money? No. One was quality of life. It had just evaporated. She was having, she'd go into these fits. And she was, you know, 12 years old. She was 160 pounds. She's a big dog, great parent. He's beautiful, sweet, sweetheart. We'd had her. We loved her. But it just came down to quality of life for her. Two months later, our new, you know, our four-year-old, black, beautiful Lab Blue.
he had something go wrong. And he was losing all this weight real fast. And he already had this autoimmune disease. So he was already sick and already on all these medications. The medications weren't working for him. And then it was almost like being at a car dealership. The veterinarian slid like, here, look at this and tell me what you think about this. You mean the number? The number. And I'd look at it, I was like, nope. It's like bargaining. Yeah, bargaining with me. I was like, are you kidding? And so we went back and forth a few times. And I was already probably... $2,000 in, which is ridiculous. And I just said, no. That's a lot of dumb. I'm not going to do it. So then they took him in and did it. And then they did the procedure anyway after they put him to sleep to see. Just to see. And then she calls me up to tell me it could have worked, maybe worked, I don't know. It's a point of even telling you. Yeah, why? Why call me up? And my wife was just torn up. I bet. Just killed her. Woodsy, have fun out there. Be safe. We miss you.
We miss you, buddy. We'll see you on Monday. How's everybody? Everybody's good. Great. Good luck out there with Harry Potter. Todd did a really, really good job. Wow. Oh, man. I don't know. The audience is the best. This is the best audience. Hey, Woods, there's some definite dimes in the audience today. You're missing it, buddy. Golf course with a bunch of dudes. That makes sense. Go figure. Have fun, Woods. I'll see you guys Monday. You got it. See you, Woods. We'll see you. Yeah, you know, listen, Woods has the take that pets are just like humans. And for Woods, there is no differentiating between a pet and a human. I don't feel that way. I feel like there's a difference between a human being and a pet. And I don't obviously want a pet to ever be in any pain. Pain, right.
Well, first of all, they wouldn't let your child just die. No. But they will do that with a dog. They can say, well, this is not much it costs, and if you're willing to pay it, okay. But they don't do that in every situation. With adults that are of age, over a certain age, you can do a DNR, do not resuscitate. And I want that. After I'm 80, I don't want to go in and have them work on me. endlessly in a hospital to keep me alive. As a matter of fact, it's in my will. Yeah, well, you're only a couple of years away from that birthday, so. Well, you know what? Then put me in a boat and send me out in the ocean. Just send you out there? It's just hard. It's like, how do you decide when you're married and one person wants one thing and the other person wants another thing, you know? Yeah. It's like your cat, Jules, Mike. Yeah. Ugh, it's hard. Well, we, you know, Jules had a sister. We did that. Really? Oh, it's just so hard to do. Had to put her down, you know? And it wasn't even my decision. It was Rebecca's decision, you know? She took her in. She had some stuff wrong with her. It was a lot of stuff. And Rebecca thought, you know, she's an old cat anyway, you know, and she's not going to live much longer. And so she made the, you know, gut-wrenching decision to have to do that. M1 Joey from Bonzil is on the line. This may be the most I've ever heard anybody paying for a pet. How much? Hey, we've 10 grand to have our dog thrown back up.
Oh, wow. $10,000. You can get hit by a car. You can get a pretty nice car for that. He's a little Pomeranian, and the neighbor's Rottweiler came into our friend's yard. He ran up to him, being all protective, and he just grabbed him and ripped him. And they were able to save the dog? Yeah, he tore the skin off his back from back legs to front legs all the way around his belly. Oh, my God. But they were able to save her? Yeah, we rushed him to San Marcos where they have an emergency vet. And after like three or four skin grafts and a bunch of other stuff, he's back to new. He just looks like a little Frankenstein. $10,000. Did you know that the bill was going to be that ridiculous and you just didn't care? Yeah, we knew it was going to be that much. And we just said go for it. I was in the emergency room or, like, the veterinarian office, and I was, like, bawling. Oh, yeah. I'm, like, 6'6", 350. I feel like a linebacker, and I was just, like, sobbing in there. What's the dog's name? The neighbors who owned the Rottweiler ended up paying for half of it. Oh, that's cool. What's your dog's name? Brutus. Do you ever say to Brutus, like, hey, Brutus?
You should be a little cooler. Maybe you don't poop on the carpet. He's still a hothead. He's still a hothead. Does he know that you saved him? Do you think he gets the feeling that he was close? Yeah, I think so. I cannot imagine being in that car driving to that hospital with a dog in that condition. I would lose my mind. You know, Rebecca's friend Lori, she recently got married. and her husband had a dog, and it was kind of like a smaller version of a greyhound. Oh, yeah, those little mini ones. And Lori went running and took the dog with her. And before I even tell you the story, I'm going to tell you, the dog's fine. Okay, thank you. Yeah, the dog's fine. I'll tell you that before we get started. I appreciate that. Yeah, yeah, because you'll freak out when you hear this. So the dog is, they go through this little canyon trail. And the dog runs off by itself. Lori all of a sudden sees a coyote come over the mountain. And the coyotes are wild animals. And they are, you know, starving. So Tac's the dog, right? Rips the dog's belly. Now, this dog makes it back to Lori. And Lori's like kind of in shock.
So she was just standing there watching this all happen? She saw the dog. She saw the coyote come over, but the dog was far away from her. And the dog was not on a leash. No, it wasn't on a leash. And so the attack happens, and somehow the dog was able to get itself away from the coyote. And once the dog did that, the coyote got spooked and ran. So Lori scoops the dog up and is running. She's got to run something like three miles. Oh, my gosh. She ran like three miles with the dog in her arms. Bleeding, too? Yeah, and the dog's bleeding, and she gets the dog into the car. And her husband's name is Kelly, and Kelly is with his buddies. It was his bachelor party. Oh, wow. It's his bachelor party that night. They're getting married. Lori and Kelly are getting married. Bad timing. And so he gets a phone call, and it's Lori. And he doesn't answer because he's doing the bachelor party thing. Strippers. No. Actually, you know where they were? They were at K1 Speed. They were doing those little cars. Yes, I told Kim too. So she calls right back. And when she calls right back, he knows something's going on, right? So he answers the phone and she goes, babe, I'm at the blah, blah, blah. And her phone.
Was losing power. And cuts off right then. She gets out. She goes. I can't remember the dog's name. But she said. Whatever the dog's name is. Got attacked. Phone dies. And he's like. That's his dog. It's his dog. He doesn't know where she. And so he tries to call her back. Straight to voicemail. Because her phone died. And so. He knew. That she was going to this place. So he took his Audi. And he's going through a canyon in his Audi with his headlights on. Because that's where he knew that she was. He doesn't have a 4x4. He's got an Audi. Oh my gosh. And he's driving an Audi through the canyon looking for... That's what I would be doing. Yeah. And that's how freaked out he was. And finally, she was able to plug her phone into the charger long enough to get a phone call into him and tell him, I'm at the vet. You know, we're going to the vet. Dog's fine. Looks like Frankenstein. You know, but it's fine. But I'll tell you what, man. I mean, when it comes to your pets, people are willing to go. Yes, they are. But there's one thing when it's an emergency situation you have to react on. It's a little different in Sienna's parents' situation. Well, we heard $10,000. Is there anybody listening that has ever had to pay more than $10,000 with their animal? I bet they have. To get fixed up. M1, Paul from Escondido, are you there?
What's up? What's going on? Dude, my cat. All right. My cat is pretty much the love of my life, right? Everybody has their animal love or not. And this guy was just limping around and acting real weak. And so I took him into the vet, you know, 200 bucks. And the guy's like, well, he has this oversized kidney going on. I'm like, really? And he's like, oh, you can feel it. I'm like. Yeah, it doesn't really feel like it, you know, too much. And he, no, well, here's the x-ray. Here's the picture of a regular kidney. I'm like, bro, this looks like a regular kidney to me. He's like, okay, we'll run some more tests, run some more tests. Comes back, he's like, okay. So we think he has cancer. So then he hands me a pamphlet. He's like, here are the treatments you can do. And this is the one I would recommend. $27,000, bro. Holy. Did you say, well, listen, it's either a down payment on a house, a brand new Honda Accord, totally loaded with every accessory, or this? Well, I kind of felt like slapping him, but I'm kind of a nice guy. So I'm like, you know, all right, let me think about it. You know what? Let's just see if I can sell my house, you know? Yeah. Like that, you know? So what did you do? What did you do? Honestly, I went home and I sat down and I prayed. And I swear to you.
When I came home, my cat was fine. Really? Nothing wrong with him. It was like, I don't know, maybe a miracle. That's right. Wow. It looked like he was on his deathbed, like he was going to pass out and die. Dude. I came home three hours later, and he was fine. Good for you, bro. Wow. That's good. Good for you. $27,000. $27,000. That's insane. Sounds like it should be illegal. Yeah. This is Cutlass and Cutlass will be playing live in our studio coming up next. I want people to get tickets for the Cutlass show tonight. I'll be there as well. It's going to be at the Edge venue in Vista. And if you want to go, just go to OutsideTheBowl.org and you can get tickets for it. All the money going to Outside the Bowl, which is the organization that I'm going to Haiti with. And you're going to be helping a lot of kids if you do that. We'll be back with Cutlass next. Make some noise. Oh, yeah. Welcome back. And also, please want to say thank you so much to Gaglione Brothers who brought in some really good food today. They are so good, man. I mean, you talk about...
Really good cheesesteaks, man. They make the best cheesesteaks. And you can get them. Gaglione Brothers. Two locations, Friars Road. And they're also at the Sports Arena. And my favorite one is called the Baja. And it's got little jalapenos in it. It's delish. It's so good. They just started serving beer at the Friars Road location, too. They did? Yeah. Go grab a cold one. Get a cold one. And they're also located at the Sports Arena. 3944 West Point Loma Boulevard, if you want to go see them there. Gaglione Brothers, famous stakes and subs. Really, really good stuff. Make some noise for Cutlass, who's in the studio with us this morning. And Cutlass is going to be playing tonight. As a matter of fact, they're... They are headlining this thing that we're doing for Outside the Bowl. You've heard me talk about Outside the Bowl. It's the organization that I'm going to Haiti with, and they're doing a benefit concert there tonight. And tickets are still available. You can go to OutsideTheBowl.org. $35 is VIP tickets where you get to do a meet and greet with Cutlass. And I will be there at the meet and greet, but you want to meet Cutlass, and that's what you should do. They're going to have some dinner for you, and you also get early entry with the VIP.
And then for $25, you could just get general admission tickets. It is the coolest venue. It's the edge, and it's so cool. It's going to be a fun time. Guys, thanks for getting up early and coming in here and doing this today. It's nice to have you guys. Thanks for having us. Now, what's the deal? You guys were just doing a tour, right? And did you guys just finish a tour, or you're almost done with a tour? We just finished. You did just finish. Okay. And so... Where did you guys wrap it up? The last show was in Wisconsin, Brookfield, Wisconsin. No one brought us cheese curds. Really? Not a single person. How about that? See, we come prepared, man. We get you all prepared. So when was that, last Friday? Yeah, yeah, yeah. So this is cool, man. You guys do play San Diego often? We've played here a fair few times. Yeah. Third or fourth time this year, I think. And you guys are originally from Portland, right? Yep. So you guys are sports fans of any of the teams up there? All two of our teams. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yes, I do like the Blazers. Hey, we have professional lacrosse. And I'm very proud of our Portland Timbers for joining the professional soccer team. But football, which way do you guys roll? Seahawks? I lean Seahawks. I lean Oregon State.
Oregon State. College ball is the only football that matters to me. Did you guys go to school up there? We all dropped out of school, man. Yeah, me too. We're in a band. Me too. Yeah, I went to college in Portland. You did? Warner Pacific College. That's actually why I moved to Portland originally. And I took a pass, no pass bowling class at a local community college so I could live at said college with John Meinberg. Well, who didn't? Really, who didn't? Now listen, if you've never seen Cutlass Live, they're amazing. They have a DVD of them playing their hometown in Portland that is amazing. Thank you. Was that a pretty cool night for you guys? When you get to play at home and then you're filming a DVD, that's got to be pretty cool. It was super fun. Yeah. Yeah. That crowd was amazing too. Like, I mean, it was, you know, hometown crowd. It was like, I don't know, about 3000 people packed in. And, uh, I remember just the energy of that night. Like we had a, we had a big front drop in front of the stage. So you couldn't see anything in front of this big, this big front drop. And then like, you know, like we had this intro rolling and everything and, and you could kind of just feel the energy almost coming through that thing when that thing dropped.
crowd, you know, big reveal and everything. The energy coming from the crowd was almost tangible. That's rad. It almost, like, knocked you over. It was crazy. That's rad. It was really, really cool. On nights like that, when the show's over, is it, like, it has to be hard to fall asleep because you're adrenaline. Yeah. Right? Yeah. I routinely go to bed, like, 4 a.m. Really? Oh, yeah. I mean, just because the adrenaline's got to be so high that you can't just fall asleep. It's good, you know, because you're so excited from an experience like that. I mean, I don't know what it's like to be a rock star. Yeah, well, it doesn't help that we go back to the bus and make another pot of coffee usually. Oh, boy. Holy cow. We're addicted to coffee. Yeah. Well, you guys are going to... Well, some of us are. Our singer would like to clarify that he is not. I'm from the Northwest and I don't drink coffee. How weird is that? That is weird. That is weird. Now, one of the guitars that you... Josh, is Josh... One of the guitars is your guitar, right? Two of them. Two of them. Yeah. We have the luthier of the guitars in the studio. Yeah, man. I know this guy, Josh, and he makes guitars, and they are the sweetest sounding guitars, and they're beautiful, man. Just beautiful guitars. They're made out of wood. Yes, they are. Wanted to let the M1s know that they can go to the Mikey Show, and they can watch on the webcam.
Oh, okay, cool. We've got the webcam up and running. Okay, so go to MikeyShow.com. We've got our webcam going, and you can check it out on our webcam. Have you guys ever played to a radio studio audience before? Yes. You have? Yes. You have? Okay, so you're no strangers to this kind of deal then. Oh, this is cool. Very nice. So what are you guys going to play? The first song we're going to do is a song called Remember Me. It's on our newest record, the It Is Well record. Right on. And, yeah. All right, there's Cutlass. For a moment The passion in your cry The chains of life are broken To death by your feet You came to bring us life Only hope for the hopeless You remember me The shame I put down Hitting my hand To the ground To save Liars and thieves
Sinners like me Your own blood sets us free Who am I? You would remember my years Stealing from the world With everything I had I was still so poor You had everything to lose But you're dying here with me I believe I believe you remember me. The shame I've been put down. The head in my head. My life on the ground. Heaven to save. Liars and thieves. Sinners like me. Young blood sets us free. Take me with this cry. Life on the ground. Heaven to save.
Liars and thieves, sinners like me Your blood sets us free The shame put down in my hand Life on the ground is heaven to see Liars and thieves, sinners like me Your blood sets us free Who am I? That sounded great, man. That sounded so awesome. It's real good. And dude, I got to give you props for being able to get the high notes at 840 in the morning. It's a little early for me still. It's 840 in the morning and you're still able to get it. That's pretty cool.
So you guys are playing tonight and there's a band called Love Light that's going to be playing with you. And they're really, really good. They're going to open the show and they are really good too. You can find Cutlass' albums on iTunes and anywhere that you buy music. And you can also find them on my phone because almost every ringtone is Cutlass. Yes. You guys ever heard that, by the way? You guys ever been walking around somebody, like their phone rings and it's your song? Yeah, it's usually... runners at shows so for those of you listening who don't know what a runner is when we show up to a certain venue day after day there's people that have usually volunteered uh on staff to run the show right to uh run us around town for errands like either run to the hotel or They run us to Target to fetch new undies or something. For example. So runners inevitably are always listening to Cutlass in their CD player. As they should be. Hey, you guys, you recognize this? Turn it up. And then their phone rings and it's like, hey, it's my cousin. You guys need to say hi to him. But it's Strong Towers, their ringtone. Right. It's pretty awesome. So is that?
Is that uncomfortable when you're driving and you're listening? It depends on who it is. Yeah. They're all saying, no, it is uncomfortable. Okay, yes, it's uncomfortable. I was trying to be nice. It all depends on the person. The person makes it or breaks it. You know what I mean? If they're just genuinely excited on life and they're really stoked about it, it's kind of cool. Can you guys record my greeting for my voice, man? All the time. Do you really get that? Yes. Oh, yeah. Oh, my gosh. She was filming you? She was driving and filming you with her phone? Yeah, you're like, you know what? We can pull over when you stop, and I'll do that for you. Yeah. We found out from a friend of ours in a different band recently. He actually literally told a kid to pull over, made him get out, and he was like, I'm driving. You're not. Duh. That's crazy. You know, I can relate to it, though, because when I was 18, I was working at a radio station and the band Oingo Boingo was in studio. And I was 18 as my first radio job. And I lived in Tucson, didn't know Tucson at all. I just moved there, basically. And as my first gig and they go, hey, can anybody, you know, after the interview is over, can anybody in the station van, can somebody take them to the venue? And I was like, oh, yeah, I'll take them.
And they go, okay, it's at the Tucson Convention Center or whatever. And I was like, okay, cool. Got in the car, started driving. I'm like, I had no idea how to get there. Like, none. No clue. No clue how to get there. I knew it was by the U of A, and I drove there. And it was actually Danny Elfman remembered how to get there from the last time they'd played in Tucson. And Danny Elfman told me how to get. to the venue that they had to play at. That guy is so brilliant. Oh, yeah. He is, man. With directions, mainly. Yeah, yeah. For sure. We've had you in 18-year-old form so many times. A lot of times. It's amazing. You roll in somewhere, you're like, hey, is there, like, a place to... eat or something around here. They're like, I don't know, I'm not from here. They're like, why are you the one driving? Yeah, that or they're like, yeah, let's go to my mom's house and she'll make you guys a sandwich. I have a spread actually in my basement. Yeah, if you want. Yeah, let's go to the basement and you make something. Thank goodness nowadays that we got our iPhones to pull up directions for our drivers. Have you done that? Oh yeah, all the time. Almost daily. Alright, so you're going to do one more song for us. What song are you going to do?
Yeah, we can do a song called I'm Still Yours. Right on. Cutlass. Go to OutsideTheBull.org if you want to get tickets for the show tonight. stay and take this life you will see if it's not what I expected and I may have when there's nothing left to steal
If you'd like to see Cutlass, and I'm not even sure. I'm not sure what I'm doing there tonight. I'm going to be there. I don't know what I'm doing, but I'll be there tonight. You can get tickets to Outside the Bowl, or you can get tickets at OutsideTheBowl.org, and it's $25, general admission, $35 for the VIP tickets, and the money's going to the Outside the Bowl organization, who I will be going to Haiti with in... And there's a lot of kids that this will really, really help. One of the things that I didn't know before I got involved with Outside the Bowl is that world hunger kills more people every year than AIDS and malaria and tuberculosis combined. And so it really made a difference to me, especially with kids. Any of you guys have kids? Yeah. You guys in the man? And so, you know, when you have kids, it just kind of changes things, you know. You know, so it really made an impact on me. And you can help out by going to this show tonight and seeing a great show in a very, very cool venue. And so we would love to have you come out and do that. Guys, thank you for coming in at this time of the morning and doing this with us today. It was really cool. And a big, big round of applause. Thank you very much. We appreciate it. All right. We got to take a quick time out. Got a lot more coming up for you. You know, some people.
We'll give this for Christmas. Some people don't give this for Christmas. Is it politically correct to give this? Are you supposed to give this? Do you give this? We'll tell you what it is next. Todd, do you have an office at home? Yes. You do? Is it clean? Yeah, pretty much. I'm a neat freak. You are? Big time. I cannot keep my office at home organized and clean. Oh, I'm crazy about it. I'm one of those guys that the pen's got to be in the right place and the stapler and everything. It's the same spot every time. I'm definitely that here at work. That's why I'm good with Mike. Sienna knows that. But at my office at home, there's various pairs of shoes and flip-flops everywhere. There's open boxes of Amazon all over. Piles. Yeah. There's just stuff everywhere. Food.
There'll be like a paper plate with toast crumbs on it. Oh, yeah. Just hangs out for days. Coffee cups and stuff. Shocking. I can't keep it clean. I don't know why. I don't know what the deal is. See Snickers wrappers laying around? Just everything, everywhere. 5701949 is our number. And Jared is our graphic designer. If you want a website built, Or if you would like a billboard, if you'd like business cards, if you'd like anything, a website, anything that has to do with graphic design, you got to go to createyourdesignonline.com. Check out what Jared does. Guy is absolutely amazing and did my business cards, did my website. He does all. BeDifferentPack.com is all. Jared's work. He's really amazing. So go check out his website. He just did that website for Todd. Speaking of amazing, I want to make sure everybody knows Jeremy, our engineer, killed it today. He did, man. Jeremy was so great today. That sounded so good, man. He made it sound so good. Okay, so before we went to break, I said that there are some people that give this and some people that don't give this. The whole deal is whether or not this is PC this year.
if it's tacky, and that's giving money, giving cash for Christmas. But before we get to that story, M1 Cassidy from Chula Vista, you there? Yeah, I'm here. What was the word of the day? Snickers. That's right, buddy. Missed it. Real sly. Okay, you just won yourself tickets to see Rolling the Stones, and you also won... Tickets to Snow Jam, which comes with a Lyft ticket and a $50 gift certificate there. Congratulations, buddy. Hang on the line, okay? Thank you very much. You got it. Okay, so what's the deal with it, Sienna? Like whether or not you should give dough? Yes, and whether or not, you know, is it proper etiquette? Is it impolite? And also do you ask for money? Well, according to these etiquette experts, depending on who it is, if it's someone you're close to, you can ask for money. But you cannot ask until they say, what would you like for Christmas? You can't just be like, oh, by the way, you know, this Christmas, I'd like some money.
They have to say, so what are you really into? What's on your list? What's something you really need? You're not supposed to say, I could really use some cash. Yeah, unless they ask and be like, well, really, the one thing I do need is some money. And then you can throw it out there, if it's someone close to you. But know that some people, they just will never give cash. My mother is one of those people. She gives gold bars. Yeah, gold bars. I mean, gold bars. Bricks, gold bricks. So you can just take those to the bank. Well, if you have a smelter at home, you can smelt the gold down. And use it just like that. 570-194-9 is our number. And a couple of things. One is that Lauren did not get to go to her pole dancing class. Lauren? It was full. Yeah. Well, don't you sign up or something? You have to, before you're going to go, you have to let them know ahead of time because there's a limited number of spots. Not the one I go to. I did a little bit of research to find what I thought was the best place. Okay, what I don't get is you're not going to be a stripper. No. Isn't she? You're not going to be a stripper, so what's the point of a pole dancing class? I've always thought that it looks really cool. They have the U.S. or maybe the world.
competition of pole dancing I've been in it they do yeah and it looks amazing really it looks amazing plus I think it's just a good it's a it's always fun you'll it'll be easier for you to exercise if you find something fun to do isn't that called stripper idol stripper idol but then it doesn't feel like oh gosh I gotta go work out it's like oh this is gonna be fun I get to put music on I get some upper body strength there is obviously something inside every girl that wants to do it for a sexy purpose. Yeah, that as well. Yeah. Yeah, but you can't. Why? Because you don't have a pole. You never know where there might be a pole at a party. Write that down. Write that down. Have you ever been to a party? Unfortunately, yes. Yes. Where there's a pole? They have portable poles. Yeah, they do have portable poles. I've been to clubs that have them. Oh, it's great. Yeah, the club's called Cheetahs. I wouldn't do it out in public. I wouldn't do it in public. I've done it in public. Oh, gosh, Jay. Jay is so creepy. I know. He has a pole at his house. He's installed it. No, I wish. Lauren O'Brien. Michael Esparza. You would not do it in public. No. Maybe for the Mikey-thon.
I probably won't be good by then. Uh-oh, she's set up now. Doesn't matter. I have to at least have a few classes under my belt. And cocktails. I'll take you on in a head-to-head competition. If you're saying you would never do it in... public, where would you do it? I wouldn't break it out at a bar to be like, hey, look at me. I'm Miss Pole Dancing Girl. But if I was at like a party and I thought I learned some pretty cool moves and they were my friends, I'd be like, hey, look what I can do. Oh my God. That would make everyone uncomfortable. You would show your, like if we were hanging out. Oh, not us. We're your friends. Like if you were there, she would not do it. You would not do it if I was there. I don't think I'd do it if J.R. Woods was there. If I was there. Yeah, if Sienna was there. Really? Yeah. You would pole dance in front of Sienna? Yeah. Really? Yeah. I'd show Sienna some moves. I bet she'd be great. She's really flexible. I'm not. I can attest to that. Ghost, ghost, ghost, ghost, ghost, ghost, ghost, ghost, ghost, ghost, ghost, ghost, ghost, ghost, ghost, ghost, ghost. Weird, weird, weird, weird, weird, weird, weird, weird, weird, weird. But yeah, they look really graceful when they do it. That's so...
Crazy, because you'd never picture L-O-B. Now I can't do anything but picture it. No, I wouldn't. Because of the sexuality, I wouldn't do it in front of coworkers. Yeah. I mean, it's one thing. Any girl that wants to do it, I guarantee it's a really good workout, and why not learn how to do it? Yeah, it looks so cool. It'll become handy one day. 570-194-9 is our number. And apparently in the future, they're saying that soldiers will be wearing Iron Man suits. This is ridiculous. Now, they had a guy in Salt Lake City wearing one of these suits, and I guess he was testing it out, and he was doing, I don't know, what's shadow boxing? Yeah, you're just pretending to... Oh, okay, he was doing shadow boxing. He broke three inches of pine boards wearing these suits, and I guess it's 72... pounds of ammunition cases. He could do anything in it. It makes you stronger by wearing this. It amplifies his strength 17-fold, is what they said. It's like a body tank. Yeah, exactly. It's an iron suit, like in the Iron Man. They want one day for military to wear this because it makes you stronger. It's safer. For one of them, it costs around $150,000. I don't know how many people in the military are going to be wearing them.
Sounds pretty rad. So rad. Listen to this email. Mikey, a few days ago, I was trying to access a site that my friend sent me over the weekend for holiday gift ideas. I went through the history on our computer trying to find this website and ran across the name of my... husband's ex as I was scrolling when looking closer I realized that my husband was checking out her Facebook picture albums as well as some other women including some exes that I know of I instantly got a sinking feeling in my gut even though it looks like he didn't message them or anything I'm still upset by it is it cheating I've been obsessing over it for a few days now trying to figure out what it means so I'm riding in to see if you can shed any light on it. I don't live in San Diego anymore, so I don't mind if you guys talk about it in the air. I just need an unbiased opinion. Thanks, M1 Kelly. Everybody's going to have a different opinion about this, I'm sure, on this show. But cheating, it isn't cheating, I think, in the traditional sense of the word cheating. But I think that it falls into that category of emotional cheating because...
you're doing something that you wouldn't do in front of her. You probably wouldn't do that in front of her. Vice versa. I don't think that a girl, if you were looking at pictures of your ex-boyfriends or whatever, you probably wouldn't do that in front of your husband. I wonder how uncomfortable it is right now, by the way, for Sienna to be sitting right next to her husband. No, I'm an open book. I think that sounds crazy to me because if you went back and looked at your yearbook, I call it a flare, Is that cheating? If you look at your yearbook? You're looking at the old photos of the girls. That's how they look then, though. You're looking to see how they look now. But what if you just want to see? If you went to yearbook online, no, I don't think it would be bad. If you go to Facebook.com... He's saying it's the same thing. Either way, you're looking at a picture in a yearbook or you're looking at a picture online. Well, first of all, Lauren said it. If you go to yearbook... I'm making up a website. If you went to yearbook.com and you're looking at... So-and-so Smith from 1986. Well, that's one thing. But for you to be actively going, wonder what so-and-so Smith is up to now. Yeah. That's a little creepier. A little. I know it's going to sound so weird because, Mikey, you always say, okay, let me get a piece of paper and write down the rules and stuff. Yeah, yeah, yeah, let me write the rules. But I think the fact that he was looking at, like, one after another in a row makes it different than just taking a gander and being like, oh, yeah, look at this girl, you know? What?
Don't you think it makes it worse? Okay, what's the number? I don't know. Two? I don't know, but it makes it... So I looked at two pictures of her. I don't... I think it's no big deal. Yeah, it really doesn't... I mean, it's one thing that it sucks, kind of. Like, if Todd ever looked at a picture of an ex, he wouldn't do it around me because I'd be like, excuse me? Yeah. You know, but... I would be bummed, but it's also like, I can't tell him, you can't look at a picture, it's not cheating. No, and you've heard me say before, I don't think that you tell somebody, you can't do this. Yeah, but I wouldn't classify it as cheating either. I think that's totally fine. It's definitely not cheating, but it kind of hurts your feelings. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. I don't think it would bother me just because she chose to be with me. She's with me. She's just going back and she's like, oh, look at him. I like what he looks like now and blah, blah, blah. Okay. Imagine, Jay, you're looking for this site that your friend sent you and you go through the history and at 834, while you were hard at work, you see, oh, she's looking at John from right before me. Oh, wait.
Two minutes later, she's looking at Jeff from high school. See, it doesn't affect me like the same way it affects you. Really? No, because I trust her. If you saw it over and over, I'd be like, what are you doing? Well, if it was every day. I think people go through other people's photo galleries and lurk and want to see what happened to them. I mean, you're curious. So let me take out my pen. And Jay says if it was every day, fine, let's get the rules down here. No. How many days in a row is it okay to look at ex-girlfriends on Facebook? Well, okay, if things around the house aren't getting done and all she's doing is Facebooking, then it's a problem. But if it's like, hey, one day she sits down and goes through it. You know, it's like, then I'm all in. This is why Facebook is trouble. This is why I don't want my husband to have a Facebook. No interest. For the record, Kim doesn't have a Facebook account. And if they don't have them, then the temptation is not there. I have one. I've tooled around with getting off of it for a while because I end up on, like, random people's, like, guys. I'm looking at, like, pictures of their wedding and stuff, and it could look like I was being a creep, but I was just being curious and ended up wherever I ended up.
you ended up liking something called black guys. That was before Facebook. I don't know. It is. There's not rules for it, but I do agree with Jay. I mean, it's one thing if it was like every day, but if it's like once, if it's like twice a year that they were to go and look. Twice a year? Yeah. There you go, Todd. Twice a year, you're allowed to browse your ex-girlfriend's photographs. Let me go ahead and stamp your... Oh, there, stamp. You pull a little card out of your wallet, and Sienna will take a little hole punch, and she'll punch it and go, okay, that's one. I would want to look, too. Okay, what if you're just not friends with your ex and you won't have that problem? You can still look at their photos, most people. I mean, like, look at his. How do you know, you creep? Hey, this is the way it works. That laugh, by the way. Oh, wow. Oh, my. Yeah, I think it's trouble. It's touchy. It's so brand new. It's like, where have you ever run into this five years ago? M1, Rudy from the college area? What's up, man? What do you think? I don't think it's...
that big of a deal. I mean, first of all, you have to have trust, you know, with your person you're with. No, no, no, listen to that. So you have to have that. And if you have that, then you really don't, then everything's good. And everyone, everyone likes to kind of see what their ex is doing now. Yeah. We all do it. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Everybody, maybe everybody does. Everybody doesn't do it. And by the way, when you go, you have to have trust. Listen, if they're looking at their ex, then I think trust may have been violated. If I'm going, listen. No. Hang on. Hear me out. Hear me out. I got some exes, okay? If I'm looking at their pictures on Facebook, there's a reason. Why am I looking at their pictures on Facebook? Because their friend requested you. Or you're saying how your wife is so much hotter than them. Really? She's still got him. Let's walk through this process, okay? Look at her. She's getting 20 pounds. Let's walk through this process. I go, you know what? I want to make sure my wife's hot. No, that's not what you're saying. I think she's hot. You want to see what the ex looks like? Listen, I know how hot Rebecca is.
We all do. And to prove it. Jay, you creep. And to prove how hot my wife is. It's like I'm the great Santini, you know, the magician. I'm like, and to prove how hot she is, I will now log on to Facebook and look at pictures of my ex. Yes. No, no. Well, that's the thing. Think about it. It has to be. The person that's doing it has to stop and think, am I doing this on purpose or I just end up here as a landing spot? Oh, really? Did I just accidentally? I accidentally had intercourse with someone. Are you going to say that? It's an accident. I don't know how to happen. Here's the deal. These are people that you grew up with in high school. Now they've maybe married somebody that you knew in high school. No, Jay. No, Jay. 100%. It's somebody who did it. Not all of them. You go to make sure that you're better off now. No. And that you won. So you're going like that. Okay, so here's what the click process sounds like. You're like, oh, yeah, Rebecca's hotter. Rebecca's hotter. Well, that one's actually. But still, Rebecca's hotter. Rebecca's. I mean, please. It's like there's this little tiny box that belongs to Pandora, and you're like, oh, I'm just going to open it up. I'm going to open it up. I like to look at it like, oh, look, she got married. Oh, look, she's got kids. Oh, or, oh, look, she's got a bunch of cats. Look, she's all alone by herself. Oh, look, she's got a bunch of cats.
Oh, look, she's in a string bikini. Oh, look, she's not in a string bikini anymore. Come on. Listen, if you're looking at ex-girlfriends, and I can't speak for women because women are weird. Like they can look at guys and not get turned on. It's weird. Dudes, we're not like that. We're not wired like that. Please, Jay, what are you? Are you like Ken doll down there and it's smooth? You got guy parts, man. You got guy parts. I know, but I can also have control. Oh. Really? Yeah, total control. Listen, you're the first man in the history of planet Earth that's able to look at hot women and not care. So every girl that friend requests you, you're like, oh, can't look at her page. I will get a, you know. No, dude, I'm telling you, I got rid of my regular Facebook account. And the reason that I did is because I would see ex-girlfriends pop up and it'd be them with their jagungas.
popping out and sometimes it wasn't even sometimes it wasn't even excess sometimes it was just women and I was like you know what maybe I don't need this as an issue in my life and I mean seriously it was too much it's too much stuff that I'm you know inundated with and I'm a guy I'm prone to it I want to look at it I want to see it and so I had to go I'm going to turn this off for a little while. Plus, I was being inundated in my inbox. In fact, I had to go back on it the other day. I had to activate it again the other day because for whatever reason, when I do the Luke on our Facebook page, it shows up as Luke. So I'm trying to write stuff on our Facebook fan page and it's Luke saying it. And so Luke's my one-year-old who has his own page. He's a baller. And so I went and... activated my old account to be able to put luke as a administrator right i had like 48 messages in my inbox there weren't more i know it was it's nuts and so i activated it and two days later had like yeah oh wow um and so that's a deal but listen if you look at ex-girlfriends it's gonna get
The head remembering things. We're going to agree to disagree. Todd is nodding his head in agreeance to you, Mike, and it's upsetting me. It's just trouble. Facebook is trouble. It is trouble. It is. M1, Caitlin from San Diego. Hello. What do you think? Well, I think that Facebook is definitely trouble, first off. But second off, if it boils down to trust, then she should just bring it up to him and say, listen, I stumbled upon this. Should I be worried? Yeah. You know what? Okay, wait, wait, wait. Let me stop you there, Caitlin. I'm picturing the guy that goes, you know, yeah, you should. You know what? Not only should you be worried, you should be terrified. I mean, worry was two weeks ago. What if they're really open with each other and he's like, well, I have been feeling like you've been really withdrawn and we haven't done it in a while. No guy. No guy. The response would be, no, look, she's a cow. Don't worry about it. And she's going to go, is she? Is she? Say again, Caitlin. I said I'm gay, so I don't really have that male perspective. Well, still, you could see your girlfriend looking at some old girlfriend and be like, what are you looking at, girlfriend? Actually, both of us have a lot of exes as friends. So for me, I mean, I cared about them once. I'm going to continue to care about them and their exes for a reason. And that's kind of how I see it. I'm very open with her about.
You know, my friendships with them and vice versa. And I think that if you're in a committed relationship, especially for, you know, somewhat long term committed relationship, then there should be that line of communication at least. Even if you're not friends with your exes, there should be a line that says, you know, hey, something happened and it's bothering me. L.O.B. I hate, hate the line. their exes for a reason because sometimes it wasn't always your choice for someone to become an ex sometimes people are still hung up on someone years later what do you think about that Caitlin well I mean I don't have that problem I certainly I'm sure that some people do. She's a heartbreaker. Don't you? If anything, you're with the person you're with for a reason, right? Yeah, well, what's it like over there in perfect though? I know, there's no way. M1 Wonder Woman. It's not that easy. It's not ever been that easy. It is right now. I'm in a great relationship, but it hasn't always been that way. There's been a lot of drama in the past. But like I said, I think that if you're in a committed relationship, there should at least be communication about it. Thank you. That is in a perfect world. Thank you, Caitlin. Thank you. M1 Andrew from Mira Mesa.
Hey, I've been listening to you since San Jose, so what up, dude? What up? Anyways, I am 100% with you. I think Facebook, MySpace, all that stuff is bad news from the beginning. It's just going to lead you into texting that person or, like, you know, instant messaging them or something. Because you're always going to check, but then you'll want to go a little bit further, you know? Yeah. And nothing's there to stop you. And it's just, you're opening up a can of worms, like, from the get-go. Like, how is that helping your relationship with your wife or your husband or your spouse? Yeah, I think, you know, Facebook is a community. It's just like any neighborhood. Only nobody's really seeing you check out the neighbor. Exactly. You know what I mean? And it was first only available to... Harvard students and then only college kids for a long time, which I think is probably more appropriate. I mean, I'm on it.
I'm addicted to it, but I think it's probably more appropriate for that age group. L.O.B., you're never getting off Facebook. I will. You know you won't. Oh, I will. She is never. All my sisters and my aunts and everybody I know are on it. I would get off it in a second. You would? I would cancel it right now. I don't care. No way. You're doing it because of the listener aspect and keeping in touch with our listeners. I do it, yeah, because of the listeners, and that's cool. Yeah. But, no, I mean, any exes, as friendly as we were when we broke up, I'm not friends with them on Facebook. How did you get that? And that's the truth. I don't need to. Rebecca's pretty good about sniffing around my page all the time. And so she'll say, she'll like, and here's her other thing. She likes to, if somebody makes a comment, she likes to like that comment. That was LLB hitting her head on the microphone. So a girl, like a girl will be like, you know, hey stranger. You know, what have you been doing? Or something like that. And Rebecca will like it. As Rebecca? Genius. Yeah, she'll like it. Oh, Rebecca, I like your move. And I don't respond to it. And then it just stays like that. And you just hear. Crickets. Cricket in air.
You know Thanksgiving's like a week away. I'm so excited. A week and a half away or something. My new favorite holiday. Thanksgiving? Oh, yeah. You eat turkey, right? Like a madman. You don't have beef, but you like turkey. No beef. I got a checklist for you. You got to get ready. There's stuff you need to be planning for. It's very important. I can't wait to eat Thanksgiving food. Again. Welcome back. It's a Mikey Show with a live studio. So if you would like to play Movie Plot Hot Potato, give us a call right now. 570-1949. The way that it works is you are either going to pick Lauren or Jay. Because today Woods is out. And so L.O.B. and Jay are going to be playing Movie Plot Hot Potato. The way that the game works is that they toss.
a hot potato back and forth. They give me the plot of a movie. I have to guess it. And as soon as I guess it, they get to throw the ball to the other person. And whoever is holding that ball, that hot potato at the end of 60 seconds is the loser. And so you're calling right now and you're going to pick either L.O.B. or you're going to pick J. And the loser gets a BB. That's right. And L.O.B. said she will take a BB if. She loses. If I lose, I'll take it. Yeah. 570-1949 is our number. Ah! Jay's shaking the gun. Don't forget, tomorrow is FM 94.9's eighth anniversary bash, and it's going to be a good time, man. There's going to be a lot of really cool bands that are going to be playing, and we'd love to see everybody come out and be a part of this thing, because it's going to be real good, and I'm going to be singing with the FM 94.9 band, Company of Thieves, Hold Steady. New politics are going to be there. It's going to be real good. And so love to see you come out. Okay, so Thanksgiving checklist. What are we supposed to have? Okay, well, this is...
You know, it's in, what, a week and a half? Yeah. So what you need to be doing is cleaning out your refrigerator because you need to make room. Smart. Make sure you have all of the cookware that you need, you know, meat thermometer, whatever you need to put the turkey in. Like, buy all that stuff now. And you can even, they're saying, like, make the breads and stuff. You can do that now and freeze it. Oh, yeah. And they'll be just as good if you take them out of the freezer the day before. So, you know. Start planning your table decorations. Centerpieces. Do you guys do that kind of stuff? Centerpieces is a good idea. Oh, we do like full centerpieces. Do you really? Oh, yeah, it's a big deal. Oh, wow. Linens on the table. Diamonds. Diamonds and rubies. Yeah, big bars of bricks of gold. So, you know, there's a lot of things you should be doing right now because Thanksgiving is very chaotic, especially for the women. I'm sorry, I'm going to say that right now. Or Mike. Who cooks? I cook as well. I cook both the birds. Oh, do you? Well, I take that back then. Both the birds? Yeah, we do two turkeys. We don't do the big turkey because the smaller turkeys cook better. It's a good idea. And we do them rotisserie on the barbecue pit after we brine them overnight. Oh, boy. Yep. Sounds good. Sounds complicated. Thank you to Gaglione Brothers, famous steaks and subs, who came in today and brought some delicious sandwiches located at Friars and Sports Arena. Get the Baja.
That's my favorite one. It's got little bits of jalapeno in there. They're so great. I had a new one today, though. It's the turkey one. I had that one, too. It's got stuffing and cranberries on it. Good. It's time for Thanksgiving. Not bad. Wow. Okay, first up is M1 Victor from La Jolla. Who would you like to select, Victor? You got it. Oh, wow. Hang on the line. Come on. It's my first time. M1 Robin from Mira Mesa. Are you there? I'm here. What's up, guys? Not too much. Jay is going to represent you today in Movie Plot Hot Potato. Hang in the line, okay? Word. Okay, here's how we do it. Don't let me down, Mike. I'm going to do great. So, 60 seconds. Whoever has the ball in their hand at the end of the 60 seconds is a loser. And here we go. Okay, this is Kevin Costner. He's a Civil War. He's at an exile post. The mailman. Nope, it's... Oh, yeah, yeah. Dances with Wolves. Yes. Okay, this is... A bus is going to blow up if they don't go fast enough. This one was... There was a little portal into the guy's head, and you got to spend 15 minutes in his head. Being John Malkovich. Okay, this has hobbits and the good immortal. Lord of the Rings. Johnny Depp, he can't use his hands. Edward Scissorhands.
This is a George Lucas film. It's got Luke Skywalker. Jack Nicholson. He's like OCD. He's Helen Hunt. He's got the gay neighbor with the little puppy. Oh, good. It's got good in the title. A good thing. A good thing. Keep going. It's a good, good, good. Doesn't get any better. Don't give any hints. I can say that. Good. It's a good life. No, keep going. Good people. Good people. Good. Not any. Goodness. You can do this. What the hell is it? As good as it gets. As good as it gets. I'm so nervous. What did you say? Can't get any worse then? As good as it gets.
My next two were knock out of the parks, too. Apollo 13. I had two good ones that I knew you'd get. I had great ones. Oh, my gosh. As good as it gets was a risky one. I know. I like to give Mike credit. You lucked out because L.O.V. would have had to have taken a BB, so she gets to shoot. But I've never shot one before. Yeah, he'll teach it. Yeah, that's probably. Hold on to the boys. All right, so Todd, hold the door open. Jay is going into the other studio. He's going to go stand by the bean bag. He just shook up. It's fun to shoot it. L.O.B. L.O.B. You see how there's a thing at the end of the barrel like this? Okay. And then there's another thing like this close to you. You want to go like this, L.O.B. Look. You want to line this thing up like that. Okay. And you've got to hold it like this. You've got to hold it like this so you can look down the barrel. No, no, no. Did she turn around from the hip? Oh, yeah! Did she get you good? Oh, my gosh. That's so hard to do. It looks like you got him. I think you went left cheek on him. Wow. Did she go left cheek? She went right cheek. Right cheek. Oh, it was right cheek. Oh, my gosh. Isn't that fun? Yeah. Do that all day. All right. So that means that Lauren won for M1 Victor from La Jolla. Are you there, Victor? There you go. Holler.
We want to thank M1 Live the Life because he bought and donated tickets to The Cutlass Show tonight, and that's what you just won, Victor. You get to go to The Cutlass Show tonight, and I'll be there, and so will Cutlass, and Love Light's going to be a nice, fun night, man. We're real happy to have you do that. So you've got to come to the station and pick those up, okay? Thanks, Mike. You got it. Hang on the line. Let's see. New movies that are out today. What do we have, Sienna? Well. Over here. I have. Unstoppable with Denzel Washington, Chris Pine, Tony Scott. I want to see it. I haven't heard of it. PG-13. It looks great. It looks great. They're on a runaway train, and it looks like awesome action. It's filled with explosives. Yeah. It's like speed. Looks variety with a train. And also out today is Skyline with Donald Faison and people I've never heard of. Eric Balfour. Haven't heard of it. Yeah. PG-13. Directed by Greg Strauss. Wait a minute.
I might have... Do I have a scene from... It's a sci-fi movie. Hey, wait a minute. Let's go back because I have a scene with... I have a scene from Unstoppable. Okay. What are you doing? Take off right now. We get back on the main. We can chase it down in reverse. Whoa, wait a minute. Wait a minute. The only way to stop that kind of power, grab it by the tail. Boom. Gun in the opposite direction. We can't just chase that. If it goes down, we're going to be a wreck on a wreck. Doesn't matter. There's a good chance the derailing won't work. It's called a derailer for Christ. That's what they do. I'm training that size, going that fast. It'll vaporize anything that gets in its way. They wouldn't use it if they didn't do it. They're wrong. All right? They're wrong. How come everybody acting with Denzel Washington sounds like an amateur? That's what I was just thinking. Sounds like an amateur. Yeah. It's like a high school play except for Denzel. He sounds amazing. Denzel is the best. He was in another movie with a train with problems too, wasn't he? He just likes trains with problems. I think so. Here we go again in the same movie. He's always that same guy. The guy that's got some sort of conspiracy going on and he's in the middle of it. What else? Is that it? Yeah, those are the two big ones. Okay. Let's see.
Wow, Woods. Woods put the music together today. Augustana Boston. Maybe he did it because he knew he wasn't going to be here and he can get away with it. Oh, wow. I still have secrets that pilots won't tell you. I can't wait to hear what that's all about. I love this list. It's great. It's coming up next. There's stuff that pilots won't tell you. Like what, Sienna? I love this list. Now, this is from a bunch of pilots throughout the country, and they're talking about different things. Now, these are things that they're asking you, you know, questions that they hear a lot. Like, they're like, okay, I may be in uniform walking around the airport. That doesn't mean I know the directions, because how many people walk up to pilots like, do you know where this is? I don't know. Do you know how many airports they fly to? Stuff like that. I would think they would know. Yeah. They look official. Yeah.
They also said that most of the time, how you land is a good indicator of a pilot's skill. Like, if you have a bouncy, rough landing, it means they're not as great of a pilot. Really? Yeah, so the best compliment you could give a pilot when you're walking off the plane is nice landing. Really? If you say that was a really nice landing, they'll be like, yeah. Yeah. Like, they'll know that that was really good. Which is great, except it's not going to get us anything. We're getting off the plane. Yeah. Well, you're making them feel good. Yeah. Be different, Mike. Cabin air is not as dirty as people think. Isn't it? That's great news. That's a lie. That's not true. I don't believe it. No, the airs run through hospital quality HEPA filters. And it's actually cleaner than... I'm sure they're changed all the time. I'm sure they're changed every... Why can't you just be like, oh, that's great. Because there's no way in the world... I'll tell you why. Because every time I fly, two days later... That's probably because you touch things that other slimy people touch. I touch things and then I wipe my eyes immediately. The two worst airports for pilots is Reagan National in D.C. and John Wayne in Orange County. Why?
John Wayne is especially bad, they say, because all the rich people who live near the airport don't like the jet noise. So they have the noise abatement procedure where you basically have to turn the plane into a ballistic missile as soon as you're airborne. And that's what the pilot says. So flying into Orange County is like the most dreaded airport. It's scarier. Like it's because I mean, I don't know what that is. That's what they said. But the noise abatement procedure where. They said you turn the plane into a ballistic missile. So they're saying it's a dangerous place? Probably because you have to shoot-ups, go up straight, quick. Well, they're saying it's the two worst airports for pilots. Oh, they don't like it. D.C. and Orange County. San Diego's tough because it's hard with that parking garage. I know you have to be a certain seasoned pilot to be able to fly into San Diego. You do? Because it's difficult to land because that parking garage is in the way. I do it all the time. They say don't ever worry about lightning in planes. A lot of people are worried. Like, what if there's lightning? Why would we? This guy. Why would you possibly be worried about lightning? The Alfred Hitchcock? What is that? Twilight Zone. Yes. I'm telling you, he said that this pilot said he's been struck by lightning twice while flying. Most pilots have. Airplanes are built to take it. You're not going to fall out of the sky. Nothing's going to happen. They're built around that.
If you're going to recline your seat, check behind you. The pilots are saying because I would guess so many laptops are broken constantly by reclining seats that go back. People get mad about the recline now. It used to be that we were all entitled to a recline and now people get mad. No, I totally recline. I just do it slowly so they don't really notice. Yeah, me too. Some advice for nervous flyers. If you hate flying, they say the smoothest place to sit is often over the wing or near the wing. The bumpiest place is obviously in the back, and the plane is like a seesaw. If you're in the middle, you're not going to move as much. Also, if you're a nervous flyer, book a morning flight because thunderstorms are more likely to happen in the afternoon. Really? Mm-hmm. I didn't know that. Some things that drive pilots crazy, they say, please don't complain to me about your lost bags or rotten service. Do people do that? How annoying would that be if you're a pilot? I don't care about your lost bag. So like the pilot's standing outside of the aircraft in the baggage area and somebody starts to whine to them? Yeah, complain, yeah. They also said, don't ask us. Who's that guy?
You know they exist. That's not me. Last time I flew this airline, you know that you lost my bag. I didn't. So you better not do it. I'm sorry, ma'am. I didn't do it. Well, one of you did. I did. One of you is. Maybe your friend. No, no, no. My friend's a co-pilot. We don't handle the bag. Well, talk to your friend then. Talk to whoever's in charge because last time you all lost it. But I'm not in charge of the bags, ma'am. Well, figure out who is because I don't know. Do I work here? No. You're the one with the gold stripes on your jacket. But that means I fly the plane. I don't. Well, talk to somebody. You're official. Well, ma'am, I don't know who to talk to. Just figure it out. Oh, wow. You got to be smart to fly this plane, right? I am smart, but I don't control the bags. And just a few more secrets pilots are letting us know. They said that... They often carry snakes on the plane. Right, right. No, they said, please don't ask us about the scores of a ball game and stuff like that. They're like, we're actually flying a plane. We're not watching the game. Trying to keep you alive. Yeah. Who's that guy? I've heard that guy before. Oh, yeah. Do you know the score? Do you guys know the score of the game? Like knocking on the pilot door? Yeah, and they'll ask the flight attendants, can you find out if the pilot knows them? Oh, yeah, I believe that. Sometimes the pilots can... There's a pilot just on ESPN.com? Well, there's controls, you know, and they can radio when they radio in, like, what's the score of the Chargers, you know? So that's what the... Imagine if you're a hardcore sports fan, you're going nuts up in that plane because you want to know what the score is. So those guys are going to do that. I would never think to...
ask the pilot. I bet you Woods would during the World Series Yankees in there. Absolutely. I just would never think the pilot would be that guy. Well, I've been on planes where the pilot will come on and he'll tell you the story. Yeah, that's true. That's cool, but I just would never. There's some things that I don't think the pilot is basically anything outside of flying the plane. Yeah. Yep. They say we don't make you stow your laptop because we're worried about electronic interference. It's because you'll have a projectile object on your lap that if something were to happen, your laptop could fly and really hurt someone. That's why? Yeah, when they tell you to not have it out, that's why. I had no idea. I know, I'm learning a lot, huh? There's a couple more. We're not trying to ruin your fun by making you take your headphones off. There you are. They want you to hear in case there's an emergency. What if I'm trying to do a broadcast? Wouldn't I see it if there was an emergency? Hey, look, aren't we crashing? Yeah, and one thing that we covered briefly yesterday is people obviously don't understand why they can't use their cell phones, and people like Woods always pull it out, the cell phone, and use it in text. They said if, you know, like 12 people decide that they're going to call someone just before landing, it can cause a false reading and makes them, pilots, think that they're higher than they really are in the plane. Yeah.
So this shouldn't be getting high? This pilot says, we miss the peanuts too. People are like, why don't you bring me the peanuts? And now you pay to eat. You pay like three bucks for a turd sandwich. It's the worst. It's the worst food. And one that was listed a lot by female pilots. And they're like, please, next time you see us, don't say. oh my gosh, you're a girl pilot. This girl said, do you say, oh my gosh, you're a black pilot? Like, no. You're like, wow, I thought you guys just got to vote. To fly planes. I thought those were pretty informative, so hopefully you guys learned something. I've never seen a female pilot. Oh, I have. You have? Yeah, I don't think I have. I have not. Me too. Sienna. What? If you were getting on a plane and they said, Ma'am, this is a really unusual thing, but you get to pick. Would you like a male or a female pilot? I would say male. I'm sorry. Lauren, too? I've never seen a female pilot. Wow. Women are the most sexist creatures on the planet. You know, I know that I shouldn't say it, but it's true. I think men are better drivers. You know, women get distracted. I do my makeup when I drive. I would say that.
I'm sorry. I'm going to make a lot of people mad. I'd say that about a bus driver. Wow. A police officer. Taxi. A firefighter. A firefighter. Firefighter, absolutely. Firefighter, absolutely. But driver or pilot? No, we're just talking about who we want to make out with. Feel safer with. Right. Who you feel safer with. All right. We got to go. 570-1949 is the number we had people calling, by the way, that were saying that, yeah. Flying out of the OC is like a roller coaster, they say. Wow. That you just fly practically vertical when you're getting out of there. So they said it's a real fun time. Let's see. End of the show on Fridays, I give you my testimony and tell you my story. And tonight, I may or may not be doing that. If you come and see me at the Cutlass concert, I'm not really sure what I'm going to be doing there, but I'll be there. And it's to raise money for Outside the Bowl, so we would love to have you come out and be a part of that. I feel sometimes like the luckiest guy alive. There have been times in my life where I know that there's no doubt in my mind that I shouldn't be here because I should have died or been arrested and put in jail. But I'm really, really lucky. My entire life has been spent being fearful.
or being guilty, or feeling ashamed, or feeling worthless. My entire life, I read something the other day that said, when I met God, everything from my past became my past, and it was dead. And now, it's something completely new. And I really do feel that way. The reason that I tell you my story, which has everything to do with God, the reason that I do, is because He used me. He took this kid, me, that was so ashamed and embarrassed just to be me. Ashamed to walk in my own skin. And he changed me. He changed me into something completely different. And he did it so that you could see that if he could do it with me, he can do it with anybody. I remember that one time in my life I had an eating disorder because I was trying so hard, man. I was just trying so hard to be liked.
I wanted really badly to be thin. And I remember there was a lot of shame in that. Embarrassed telling you now. But think about that. Think about all the stuff in your life that you're embarrassed about or that you're ashamed of. Imagine all of that washed away. You don't have to be ashamed of it anymore. Are you ashamed of anything? Are you addicted to anything? Do you feel hopeless? If you do, go to MikeyShow.com. On the top of the page, you're going to see the word help. Click on that word and there's resources for you. For depression, eating disorders, addiction, whether or not you got money to be able to go to some place or you don't, there's some options there for you. But really, the reason that I tell you this story about me meeting God in 2003 is because it was that that changed my life and saved my life and brought me to where I am today. Genuine and true joy.
Happy with a family. You can have it too. If you have ears, listen. MikeyShow.com At the end of the show, I play a song and there's always a real meaning to the lyrics behind the song. This song is about hope. The song I'm going to play for you is about hope. And so if you're going through a divorce or a breakup or you've lost a family member or God forbid, a child. If you're going through something that is really, really painful right now and you feel like there's no hope, I want you to know that there is hope and this song is about hope. I really want you to listen to the words of the song. It's by a band called Third Day. It's called Tunnel. Still tickets available for you to come and hang out with me tonight at the Edge venue in Vista. Go to outsidethebowl.org.
