Friday November 19, 2010
The live audience gets to see Wizard Woodsy’s giant staff and hat; and all this with his clothes still on! Facebook decides the fate of the Michael Shannon tapes. Rain is in the forecast for the weekend, not that Sabrina would know, unless you produce some greenbacks. Mikey won’t be trying out for the Ice Capades anytime soon. Harry Potter talk is next, with in depth Potter trivia and JK Rowling cashes another check. Tony Parker and baseball player…er…actress Eva Longoria are divorcing thanks to Tony’s sexting with a former player’s wife. Jay breaks down his Turkey day preparations and mouths start watering. Who irritates Woods more, Captain Buzzkill or Prince Dumbface? An 11 year old went through a near death experience at age 4 and claims he went to heaven and met people he knew and had out of body visions. Woods hits the streets in search of a Whopper and a whopping reaction from regular folks about the Burger King employees writing “F U” on receipts. He hits a wall when he interviews the writer for the Mama Testa commercials. Wizard Woodsy calls in from the corner of Frazee and Friars as Mikey has him recite hilarious spells while the commuters honk and laugh at him. A M1 calls in while watching Woods drop magick on the passersby and Jay urges him to “show them his staff”! The Kid loves casting for blasting cigs so long as his wizard beard doesn’t catch fire. Donald Trump says he may run for president and vows to tax China while Sarah Palin chimes in. Sienna reveals the county speed traps and George Bush wants to be a greeter at Wal-Mart. Eskimo Bluewaters comes in fresh from the Harry potter premiere where she hit it off with a rapper named “$kittles” and she plays his song she produced sure to be a huge hit! EBW will be appearing at the LAC (Leafblower’s Association of California). Tiger blames golf itself for his cheating and Jay makes a “hole in one” joke. Sienna butt-slapped a stranger for his great hook shot. Woods used to think Mikey’s last name was Kioz, and then the Kid eats a cheeseburger, paper included! Of Course Jay wonders what it will look like when it comes out the other end. Mikey and Woods will be going to San Diego Harley Davidson to ride some hogs later in the day. A college professor youtube video calls out a yawning student and proceeds to flip out on the class. The gang analyzes the nutty professor’s motives for his tirade and Mikey agrees that yawning is rude. Classic Micheal Shannon tapes are played as the rotund DJ hits the easy-listening posts and reads news of a nude dude in British hotel while keeping one eye on his meatball sub. Next, Mikey’s old board operator JR calls in with more enthusiasm than a cheerleader team on amphetamines as he remembers Mikey’s old wardrobe, food habits, and white pickup truck! After a Chargers/Broncos MNF preview Mikey tells about meeting Ryan Matthews for bedifferentpact.com. Woods admits how the Bedifferent bracelet helps calm his urges to pop off in anger.

Welcome to the program, everybody. It is the Mikey Show on a Friday with a live show. Let me give you the phone number. It's 570-1949. You can call now. At the beginning and end of every show, we do open phones so you can call about anything you'd like. The topics that we're going to be going over or questions that you have or anything. If you're listening right now to the Mikey Show, you are an M1, which means that you belong to an exclusive club. It's called M1 Nation. An M1 calls into the Mikey show. They turn the radio down, get to the point. They don't cuss. That's what it means to be an M1. We're going to be talking about what weather is going to look like here in San Diego. You're going to find out what this deal is here in San Diego with this thing called the Cravery Cookies. Great. So delish. That's all I need. You're going to find out what's opening up at Horton Plaza. We had an earthquake. We'll talk about that.
And how people are going to be remembering the people that belong to the motorcycle club that were killed and injured. And also, have you heard this story about Tony Parker? Plays for the Spurs. The Spurs. All-star. And was having an emotional affair with a teammate's wife. Oh, my God. It's a guy that's married to Eva Longoria, you say. Pretty bird. So we'll talk about all of this stuff. 570-1949. You can call about any of this stuff that you like. And huge show today. First of all, Woods is going to be on the corner of Friars and Prazee this morning. And why will he be doing that, Mike? Well, Sienna, he is going to be, as you know, the movie Harry Potter opened last night at midnight. Yes, it did. And nobody could be more excited about that than you, Woods, right? And so Woods is going to be out on the street tomorrow. Today. Today, excuse me. Out on the street on Friars and Friseet, dressed as a wizard. Oh, my God. At 7.30 this morning. You didn't sleep a wink.
On your way to work, maybe he'd just drive by. Give him a honk. If you throw anything at me, I'm going to hit you with my staff. Oh, wow. But you can moon him. Yeah. Or you can flash me, ladies, if you're out there. I've got his walking staff in here. Giant walking staff. Oh, my gosh. It's a big wooden stick. Jay, show everybody here in the studio. Show everybody here in the studio. Look at that. I will club you with it. Isn't that great? Gigantic. I will club you with it. Does he have a hat? Oh, yeah, he does. Jay, bring the hat in so that we can see the hat. No, I didn't see it. It was hanging over the chair. It was? I missed it. I missed it, too. Kid was real focused this morning. This is a full-on get-up. Let's see what this hat looks like. He's unzipping and getting it ready for right now. Open the doors of Mordor and let us see what the... Hey, that is Lord of the Rings. Whatever, it's all the same. Totally different. Open Gandalf's wizardry door and let us see. Oh, wow. Oh, that is the real deal. I mean, he is going to be dressed.
As a real wizard. It looks like the sorting hat from Harry Potter. Oh, it's great. I don't know what that is. His cloak has shiny suede on the inside. Oh, my God. Crushed velvet. This sucks. This sucks. I just got so tickled right now. Can we just play music and all of us go down there and watch him at 7.30? Oh, wow. Oh, my God. He's a long, gray beard with a gray, long-haired wig. You're going to mess up my PHC, dude. Real good. Oh, wow, Woods. You look like Gandalf from Lord of the Rings. Oh, my gosh. Please drive by at 730 and see looks. Listen, listen. Hang on a second. I'm not kidding. I think that that outfit and him out on Friars and Friseet could make the news. Yeah. And I'm not kidding you. Like, I think it could make the news. It's that outrageous. Well, at least my face is covered up mostly. Call in news stations, M1s, let everyone know this is going to be nuts. This is a full wizard outfit. Oh, my gosh. You could reuse it and be a really creepy Santa. Oh, wow. Oh, man. I was, you know, I was a little.
nervous about it. I'm real, real nervous about it now. Alright, so here's what we're going to do. At 7.30, Woods will be down there and he'll be out there for a half an hour. No way! Really? Our entire break at 7.30. Like 10 minutes. Half an hour. Half an hour. From 7.30 to 8. Woods will be out there. And here's what I want people to do. We are encouraging M1s, obviously, to give a little honk of encouragement to Woods as they drive by. It's a little honk of encouragement. It would be great. And if you've never seen Woods, you get your chance this morning. Friars and Frazee, 730. We'll have him on the phone with us, too, the whole time he's down there, right? Yeah, this is the best part, Sienna. What I'm going to do is I'm going to have a list of spells. I have four spells, okay? And so I will do a... game of repeat after me with Woods. Woods has his hands over his face. What I will do is I will read the spell to Woods and Woods has to repeat it. It's going to be brilliant. Word for word, no cheating. Boy, I've come a long way in a year. I really have. A year ago today I was sitting in my own office managing a team.
Not anymore. Ripping the mic real good. Yeah. Closing deals. Yeah. Now you're a wizard, my friend. Look at me now. Now you're a wizard. I'm casting spells on cars. That's your living. Holy crap, that's what I get paid to do. Awesome. That's awesome. Does anybody know if Eskimo Blue Waters is here at the station yet? I'm sure. No. She's not scheduled to be on the air with us until 8. I saw some of her hair in the bathroom. All scattered on the countertop. Now, what do you mean? Does she shed hair when she gets ready? She, like, teases it and does weird stuff. I think she's trying to dread it up now. Ew. Weird. Okay. And then if you've never heard the Michael Shannon tapes, okay, years ago I was a disc jockey and, you know, I've been a disc jockey now for 23 years. And back in the early 90s, You've got to get a visual. I was obese. I wore tortoise shell glasses that weren't real. I wore them for cosmetic reasons. For fun, because they looked really good. I thought that that was a cool look. Classy. Suspenders? You know, Woods, I didn't wear the suspenders. Yes, you did. You wore them every day. Every day. You woke up, first thing you did. Sometimes without a shirt on underneath. Oh, good look. I wore the suspenders when I was dressed up.
To look sharp. Going out suspenders. Those are my never had a chance suspenders. The ladies never had a chance when I had those up. Because they were so hot. Rainbow real good. Purple. Easy mork. Did you wear them too? Easy mork. Did you wear them too, Woods? I had a pair. But you looked sharp. Yeah, but I actually, like... He was tall. I French-kissed girls when I wore mine. I like, though, when guys are dressed up now and they have some suspenders on, I'm in on it. And a vest. If they're good-looking, yeah, I'm totally in on it. I practiced kissing my pillow, which never came to fruition, you know? I mean, I could practice as much as I wanted. Look at Lauren. It was just dying. And those Mikey jokes tickle her. But I, yeah, you know, I mean... I was practicing for nothing. It would be like marathon training. You never run the marathon. Anyway, so we'll hear what I sounded like back in those days because I was like a light rock DJ. Smooth jazz. They're the greatest. Peel the curtain back a hair, can we? Yeah, sure. I said to Woods, I go, Woods said off the air. He said, I need some more Michael Shannon tapes. I need them. And I said to Woods,
Dude, and this was a real true convo. True convo. Right here. I heard it. I go, I said, dude, I think people are kind of over it. And I genuinely meant it. I said, you know, I don't want to put something on the air that people are like, oh, with this again. You know, that's my nightmare is to be putting stuff on that people are just like, really? With this again? Yeah. And Woods goes, no way. People love it. And I'm like, I don't know, man. My gut's telling me they're done like it's boring. And so I said, I'll put it very, very confidently. I said, I'll put it on Facebook and let people vote confidently, knowing that people are brutal on Facebook. And they'll say they are. And I knew and I knew that they would say over it, over it. And I figured it would be a page of over it, over it, over it, over it. And overwhelmingly, you know, people said that they wanted it. And there was one guy. Yeah. Out of the first 50 responses, we had 50 responses in like 10 minutes. 50 for 50. Yes. More. More. And I'm like, I told you. One guy writes, yeah, I've kind of been there, done that. And Mikey goes, see, I told you. I told you. I go, dude, no way. That's one out of 50. Yeah. So we'll play the Michael Shannon tapes today.
Hi, caller baby. Thank you. Yeah. Hi, call. Hi, Mikey. Hi, caller baby. Hi, Mikey baby. Hi, caller baby. Oh, it's so difficult. It's the greatest. It's so difficult. It really is. It's like being nude in a park. I bet. No, it's not. It is. It kind of is. It feels a little bit like that. We'll be breaking that down at 830. It's going to be a lot of fun. Santa. Do you see what I mean, Lauren? Payback. Do you see what I mean, Lauren? Okay, I see what you mean. I don't think Lauren is convinced. No! Listen, she recorded this for her boyfriend. Really? In a bathroom. And really, it was only meant for her and him. An eye for an eye real good. All I'm doing is illustrating that it can... Why do you turn the heat on every time you play that song? Because it gets really hot in here. One of these days we'll have to get your boyfriend, Matt Commerce, on the phone to tell us what he thought about that. Your BFMC. He liked it. Your BFMC. I'm sure he loved it. I'm sure he snickered a little bit and went, oh, that's what I got for Christmas. Interesting. That wasn't the only thing. Oh, I know.
Wasn't the only thing. He got a recycled bag. Yeah, he also got a purse made of recycled kimonos. He got a hug, you guys. A coupon for a free back rub a la L.O.B. He scored that year. Oh, and he got a lot of presents. With the gifts. L.O.B. with just a bow on her head. No. Applebee's coupons. That someone gave her. That's Woodsy's favorite. I love it so much. It's his favorite L.O.V. laugh. It's his favorite L.O.V. laugh. It's the greatest. It makes me so nervous, I think I'm going to throw up. The passive-aggressive laugh is the greatest. Word of the day is Kool-Aid. And here's the thing. Today we draw for the grand prize. The grand prize is a two-night stay at Aquarius Casino Resort in Laughlin and a $50 gift card that's worth $500. We've been qualifying people all week for that. And also, you will instantly win a Mikey Show t-shirt and a pair of sunglasses from Anarchy. That word of the day, Kool-Aid, can happen anytime between now and 10. Are you going to bust through a wall? Hey, Kool-Aid! Oh, yeah! Oh, yeah! Oh, no. All right, so there's that. Okay, so if you were planning on going and, you know, enjoying a nice picnic this weekend here in San Diego, you might want to make plans to fly to Nevada.
Yes, but there's going to be a lot of rain and it's going to kick off. You know, I thought I saw sprinkling on my car when I was driving in this morning. Did you guys notice that? Yeah, it was. So it may be kicking off earlier than we thought because it's supposed to be raining all day Saturday and it's supposed to be raining on Sunday. Cloudy with rain. Not going to be a pretty weekend. Yeah, it's good. So stay inside. It's going to get colder too. A lot colder. A lot of fireplace. I like it. Ooh, a lot of fire. Is it going to be raining in Los Angeles too, Santa? Is it? I work in San Diego. You should know that you're a weather girl, Sabrina. I'm just thinking maybe I'll just go to my dad's house. Yeah, Sabrina. How come you didn't tell us the weather was going to be in? Because Santa does it better. Yeah, but that's what your job is. Until I see a paycheck, I have no job. Oh, boy. How do you actually get all the money that you have? Because it's very clear, you know. My dad. Your dad. Basically. Does he just put it in your account? ask if you can borrow some money. No, he just, I have his black MX, so anything that I can't get with MX, then I'm just like, dad, I need some cash. Yeah. Some Benjamins. Did you notice, by the way, that she drives a brand new...
Mercedes CLS. Yes. Oh my gosh. Why would you say the name of my car? I mean, now I'm going to have to get a new car. Thanks a lot. Well, don't you do that anyway. I'm going to have a stocker now. I just got that car. Yeah, but we didn't give out the license plate or anything. Well, it's used. It's used. God, I can't drive a used car. I didn't say it was white. You know what I mean? It's white. Yeah, I mean, we didn't say that it was white. But it is white. It's not white. It's pearl. It's pearl. First of all. It's pearl. Yeah. Sabrina is 22. She goes to UCLA. She's our weather girl. She never gives weather. Yeah. Not once. I have to do her job all the time. It's all about the Benjamins. There you go. Which I have not seen. The Cravery. Anybody heard of the Cravery Cookies? Yeah. Yeah. Okay, I had not heard of the Cravery Cookies. And these are a bunch of guys. This one main guy, Derek Yeager, I think is his last name. Yes, it's Derek Yeager. Started this company and they make all kinds of crazy cookies like pancakes and bacon. That's right. Cookies. Pancakes and bacon. Sounds good. And another one of the big ones is rosemary balsamic. Cookie. And he just like goes crazy. There's a base of 60 types of cookie dough. That's so hot. I know. And now there's over 950 different flavor combinations of these cookies.
They're just selling out like crazy. There's peanut butter overload, red velvet, like some of the basic ones too. See, that's dessert, but I don't want ham sandwich cookies. I don't either. You don't want spaghetti and meatball cookies? Apparently, they're really good. Why do people want rosemary and balsamic cookies? Maybe not for a cookie. I mean, maybe not for dessert, but for like a little side or something. Well, some of them people like because he uses olive oil instead of butter on some of the cookies. And then there's like, you know, the sugary ones like the peanut butter overload and stuff like that. But they're available online and he's just selling out like crazy. What about lamb? Does he have lamb? I don't see that. That's a silly question. That's ridiculous. Just get a balsamic. You'll be fine. You're ridiculous. Have you guys ever tried the Funfetti cake that comes in a box? Mm-mm. Mm-mm. What is that? Like at the grocery store, it's Funfetti cake. Chris is nodding his head like, yeah. What is that? Chris knows. Next time you go to the grocery store and you make a cake, look for the Funfetti. It's like a white cake with colored sprinkles in the cake. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Sienna is a...
big in on sprinkles. I love them. She loves her some sprinkles. I like sprinkles too. No, but you can't taste it. It's just like rainbow food dye in the white cake. And it's so good. And they have a cookie called birthday cake and it's just like the funfetti cake. I got to try it. I'm out on food. I'm out on cookies and desserts. Maybe just be the Grinch. I like sweet. Red velvet in. They make scones that are kind of like, you know, they'll be like. Parmesan and some really. That's hideous. You have it like as a side on your plate. But we live in Britain who eats scones anyway. That's the thing too. You know what I eat? I eat a Danish or a donut. But they make cheesy. With a Marlboro. You've never had like a blueberry scone? No. So good. A scone to me is like eating...
It's like eating chalk. Yeah, a big fat block of chalk with like blueberries in it. You have not had the right scones. You got to dip it in the right stuff too. What do you dip it in? Ranch. Ranch. No, it depends on the kind of scone that you're having. Whistashore sauce. You could dip it in like honey or maple syrup. Or if it was like one of the ones that wasn't sweet, you could dip it in like balsamic or ranch or gravy. I don't know. Let's eat a biscuit maybe. I'm going to bring in scones and you guys are going to love them. You're going to eat your words. But just so you know, you can go online. Again, it's called the Cravery Cookies. And you can also go to the Hillcrest and La Jolla Farmers Markets on Sundays. This isn't an advertisement. This is something that's news. It was all over the news. I need to try these cookies. It's one of those deals where if you don't know about it, it's one of those things people are talking about.
Now you're in the know. Yeah. I didn't know until Sienna told me about it today. Of course she did. Maybe they bring us a box. They should. This guy dropped out of pharmacy school so that he can start his own company and make cookies. That's pretty rad. I love it. So he likes to mix things up. That's right. I'm so wasted. Gordon Plaza is opening an ice skating rink. Well, they always have the ice skating rink over by Horton Plaza, but yesterday it opened. Where? It's for the holidays. Yeah, it's right on Broadway. It's right behind the NBC. In the 225 Broadway circle, yeah. There was an ice skating rink there? Yeah, they just bring it in and it's portable. I get out a lot, don't I? It's the Rady's Children's Hospital Fantasy on Ice. It opened yesterday and it will be open until January 9th. And skating costs $14 for adults, $12 for children under 12. If I were to say... If I were single, this is how I know, this is how I would discern, oh, this girl's right for me. This girl's not right for me. If we were thinking about a date and she were to say, hey, what about ice skating? I think it would be appropriate for me to just go. Michael Esparza, I'm upset. Can I tell you something, pal? I'm upset. Why?
I invited you to my ice skating birthday bonanza. Oh, wow. That is the coolest skating rink there is, too. Mike has his hands over his face like, whoops. How's that crow taste? Yeah, just last night. He didn't read the email. You know that. Didn't read it? Nobody answered. Weird. You want me to tell you over the air? Oh, you don't. I'll tell you later. I thought you read it in purpose. She wants us to ice skate. I think all of us kind of went, oop. No, I didn't. I want you. I'm scared of ice skating. In fact, I was going to tell you. When I was in high school and I was a senior in high school and I had my car, my hot white Mustang. Oh, wow. I used to, when I'd have dates, that was my bit. I'd drive to the Galleria in Dallas, and we'd go ice skating. Yeah, because you knew how to ice skate. They would look foolish, and you would help them. All of, and I'm talking the 15 girls I went out with, I was like, we're going to go down to dinner at the Spaghetti Warehouse, and then we're going to go ice skating over at the Galleria. We had a Galleria in Houston as well. We'd go ice skating there all the time. I was a clown. I was not an ice skater. Ice skating is fun. There was a girl. You could cop a feel, too, by the way. Yeah, when you're helping them up. Yeah.
There was a girl that I really liked and she didn't like me. Weird. And foolishly, I convinced myself that I could get her to. And so she lived in Glendale and I drove up there and she suggested that we go ice skating in Pasadena. Now, she could have suggested that we eat turds, and I would have said, sure, because I liked her so much. Yummy. Okay. That I would be like, well, what are we going to do? Like a turd banana split? Chocolate covered turd? Yeah. Now, the reason that she wasn't in on me is because I was a bit chubby. Okay, I was a bit chubby. And so I just want you to imagine a guy ice skating for the first time, a bit chubby, and she made me wear a scarf. Now as I think back on it. She dressed you up? Yeah, as I think back on it, I'm like, she may have been having a go. No. She wanted the experience. Did she? She'd seen too many Norman Rockwell posters. I wanted to cover up your gullet. No. That was it. She wanted to cover the gullet? Yes. That's what my wife puts me in a scarf now. No. I went home with black and blue butt cheeks. Yeah, that'll happen. Did you make a fool of yourself? Of course. You couldn't stand up?
You were the guy holding onto the wall. Try putting a bowling ball on some toothpicks. See how that goes. Also, can I just say, keep your eyes open this weekend because it's the breast cancer three-day walk, the Race for the Cure, kicking off in Del Mar this morning. A lot of people walking in pink. So give them a honk, cheer for them. Got to tell you about the Tony Parker thing. Plays for the Spurs, was having an emote. At the very least, an emotional affair, we'll explain, with one of his teammates' wives. Yikes. We'll tell you about that next in Woods on Sports. And make some noise in here if you are hanging out in our live studio audience. Cam Newton and his family have hired an attorney and they may have found a way to get out of this mess, but you make that choice. Next. It's a Mikey show on a Friday with a live studio audience. Cam Newton. That's a kid plays for Auburn that they say was being shopped around by his dad. Sure, my son will play college football for you. How much you got? Well, their family has hired an attorney that may have a spin to get them out of this. We'll tell you about it in just a bit. Thank you to Lolita's Taco Shop. They are bringing food in here today. It's going to be real good. They've been around for 26 years.
And they are really, really good. They're located in the East Village, downtown San Diego. Fast, affordable, and real quality ingredients. They have some real good stuff like carne asada fries, California burritos. If you don't know what a California burrito is, it's a burrito with fries in it. It's so good. Depending on where you go, people like to change it up. Yeah, carne asada with fries in it. It's good, though. Sold. Brilliant. And you could also go by Lolita's at the park for happy hour every day from 4 to close and Sunday from 2 to close. And they're located all around San Diego. Chula Vista, Bonita, and also a couple of San Diego locations. So thank you to them for coming in today and doing their deal with us. Let's see. We got the Eskimo Blue Waters at 8 o'clock. She's coming in. She's going to... Obviously be hitting some gigs that she's going to be doing. If you've never heard Eskimo Blue Waters, her real name is Judy Douche. And she is in her early 30s. She claims that it's pronounced... Douche. Douche. She says she's like 27 or 28. That's what she says, but... Not buying it. We know differently. We know better. We know better than that. And, of course, at 7.30, Woodsy will...
Be dressed as a wizard. Harry Potter. Casting spells down on Friars and Frisee. More like Harry Pothead. Yeah. Whatever that means. So it's going to be great. Harry Potter opened last night. Yeah. And I'm sure it's already made $42 million since midnight. Oh, and it was so good. Sold out everywhere. It was so good, you guys. I wish that I would wait to see it. You have to see it. I will see it. As soon as I got off the air, I went. I set up my nerd tent. I got my nerd grill. Stop it. These people are not nerds. I made nerd dogs. Why do you have to do that? It was. I watched the 12 o'clock screening, and then I watched the next one after that, and I had to hustle in here. Am I a nerd, Woods? Yes. Why? Yeah, he likes that show. I'm a nerd, and I'm proud. Anything Woods doesn't like, then you're a nerd if you like it. They're raising it up. Yeah, if you don't like what I like, then you're a nerd. That's easy. Thank you for summing that up. That is how he does it. That's exactly how he does it. It's not real open-minded about stuff. It's a big deal. All right, let's see.
the final chapter in the Harry Potter movies made its premiere. People lined up in Del Mar to be the first dressed up. It's a party. Yes, Woods, they dress up. It's awesome. It looks like fun. They're having a good time. Nothing wrong with that. Don't you have school tomorrow? I do. I'm kind of nervous because I'm probably going to be sleeping in class all day. I go to a lot of midnight movies. This woman is wearing a... This woman is wearing what look like regular seeing eyeglasses. Black edging. In fact, they're kind of that stylish. They're kind of in style. And I guess all except for the white masking tape that she's got.
Thank you very much. Could she stereotype herself anymore? Yeah, I know it. I know it. Pocket protector? Yeah. I feel crazy. It's really exciting. People have been watching the movies and reading the books. So we're all getting ready for the last chapter. I've been to all the midnight movies. Wow. I know. What's if Goodfellas 2 came out? Oh, dude, I would be camping out. You'd be there. You'd have like a Tommy gun with you. Yeah, I'd be in a pinstripe suit and a Tommy gun. Here, I'm sorry. Here, here, here. Probably the oldest one in line. No. Well, it's a good story, fun story. And you know what? For the school kids, it's Friday. Yeah. Harry Potter. I don't understand it, you know, but I'm not. How could you possibly? When you read the books, it's like an addiction. Yeah. It makes sense. Woods is not just out on it. It's like he's violently. Yeah. You know, it's like. Just let them like what they like. I know it's not Footloose, Woods. Hey, nothing wrong with Footloose. Really? Nothing wrong with Harry Potter. That's a man's struggle to dance, okay? Woods. People are allowed to be different. Absolutely. That's what makes the world.
Go around. You know, if I was... Because you macramed yourself a pair of jean shorts. And if I was still single, Sienna, you know what I'd say? What? Great. More for me. Because all those dudes are at the movies. LLB, have you seen the movies or just read the books? Both. Both. Well, okay, I only read The Chamber of Secrets because I already... caught up with all the movies. You call yourself a fan. I don't call myself a fan. I just say I like it. Why don't you just call it Chamber? I mean, I'm not, are you supposed to, I read Chamber. I call it COS. COS. COS. Well, I read COS, but. How many are there? Seven. Are there seven? Seven. She's calling it out. Big fan over here, bud. Yeah, this is, this is. No offense, obviously. Yeah, none taken, obviously. Come on over here. Come on over. Let's talk to you. Pull this microphone around. Yeah, this movie is part one of the seventh sequel. I need you to talk this close, okay? So, yeah. So, have you read all the books? Yes. How many? All seven. And I was listening to the seventh one, an audio CD. Got it. Driving in this morning. Oh, my God. That's my girl. Oh, yeah. We are so excited. Now, have any of the movies that have come out so far, and have they done a movie for each book?
Yes. Oh, so there's been six films. Yes, and this last one, they are making two movies. Oh, wow. Part one in July. Oh, okay, so this is just the first installment. Yeah. Okay, have you been disappointed in any way with any of the films, or have they all lived up to your expectations? Okay, lots of... You need an hour to answer that question. That's a complex question. It's a complex question. Yeah, I think I was most disappointed with... Book four. Ditto. That would be The Goblet of Fire. The Goblet of Fire. GLF. It's actually Woods' tribute band. The Goblet of Fire. The Goblet! Ignore them. Keep going. I like the last movie. Better. It's hard because there's so much. What's your favorite? It's tough to pick a favorite. Of the Harry Potter. It's like children. I guess I can't tell. I like the fifth one, I guess. That's my favorite book. What's it called? Sorry, I keep forgetting. The Hornet's Nest of Fear. What is the fifth book?
Order of the Phoenix. Yes! Some Harry Potter fans in the studio. I think Jay did this on purpose. Surrounded me. Thank you very much for sharing this. Everybody loves Harry Potter. Yeah, not everybody. The book is always better. There you go. I'm going this week in the movie. First thing, we're going to wake up at the crack of dawn and go... My mom's probably in line right now. Do you think you have to wake up at the crack of dawn? the crack of dawn to go? Oh yeah. Really? Oh, I'm sure it's going to be just packed all weekend. It's going to be... They're probably all sold out all weekend. Just push your way to the front. Nobody's going to stop you, pal. All right? You'll be fine. There you go. Word of the day is Kool-Aid. When you hear me say that, you will qualify for that trip to Laughlin, which we'll give away today, by the way. Sweet. And you will win instantly a Mikey Shut t-shirt and a pair of sunglasses from Anarchy Sunglasses. Okay, so the Tony Parker story is pretty crazy. Yes, it is. What is it? Okay, well, let me start. Earlier this week, Eva Longoria, his wife, filed for divorce in L.A. Now, everyone's like, what's the big deal? Why are they getting a divorce?
been married for three years together for seven i believe um and everyone's like he cheated he cheated that was a speculation well yesterday he came forward and said he denied a physical affair however they were quote sexting he was sexting with aaron barry who was the wife of a spur teammate brent barry now this guy's on the same team as him on the spurs they both play basketball and he's sexting his wife. Now, there's pictures... How on earth can they continue to play together? They don't. He doesn't play there anymore. He doesn't? No. Brent Barry, no. Yeah, he's not on the team anymore. But they were like... Two or three years together. And there's pictures of the four of them. You know, Tony with Eva and the other couple. They're together. They're friends. And it's just so messed up. You know, I obviously don't know them personally. And it still gives me a pit in my stomach. Oh, it's disgusting. It's horrible. It's every person's fear, you know. It's on a bunch of levels. It's bad.
You know, it's really, really bad. Well, so Tony did admit to having this sexting relationship. He says they never did have sex. It's just they were not physical ever. It was an emotional affair, some people may call it. Didn't you? There's got to be more. I mean, well, maybe not, but it just seems like to file for divorce, you would have more. Yeah. Tony said, right now, I just want to concentrate 100% on winning basketball games with the Spurs. I bet. Selfish. Wouldn't that be enough for you, though, if your guy did that? I don't know. No? I thought you had invested three years? Oh, man. Sexting out. To me, it's cheating. I guess it depends on what the sexts were. You lose trust, you know? It's a cousin of cheating, for sure. Okay, wait, wait, wait. At the very minimum, sexting is saying dirty stuff to each other. Yes. It has to be that? At the minimum. Yeah. You know? Yeah, it's dirty stuff. Maybe pics. Pictures. Oh, bad. Let's say there isn't pictures. I mean, at the minimum, if you're talking sex to somebody and you're married, you're cheating. See ya. Yeah, I guess you're right. That's really bad. I don't know. I mean, to me, I couldn't. What makes it worse is he plays in San Antonio and she lives in L.A., so they've always had a long-distance relationship. So they spend a lot of time apart. Mm-hmm.
I guess I'm just never surprised anymore when it comes to anyone that's a public figure. I'm like, eh, figures. I know. This is a compilation that I'm going to play for you. The compilation is only 33 seconds long. But what they did was, found this on YouTube. What they did was, was they took every Arnold Schwarzenegger movie ever. Ha! And... You know, Arnold Schwarzenegger screams a lot in his movies. They took all the screams. They put them together. Came out to about eight minutes long. I'll give you a 33 seconds of Schwarzenegger. Guy screams a lot in movies. He's the governor. He's the governor. Not that guy was the governor of our state. Yes. The governor. Well done. So Jay this weekend, or not this weekend, but for Thanksgiving, Jay is considering cooking. Four turkeys. Well, that's a done deal. Oh, it is a done deal. Oh, we've finally made up our minds. Yes. Four turkeys. Four turkeys. Well, we have a bunch of people that come over, and there's never any turkey left. You need leftovers. You've got to have sandwiches. You've got to have leftovers. So we put a schedule together of how it's all going to go down. What are you going to do? Starting at noon on Wednesday, we're going to brine the four turkeys. So you get them all and put them in the brine in the big cooler. For those of you that don't know what that is, it's salt and water.
And it's supposed to, well, it is. It's delicious. It makes it very, you ready for this word? It makes it very moist. Yeah. Moist brine. It kind of cooks the turkey. It kind of starts the cooking process, so it speeds up the cooking. So the next day at 6 a.m., I'll put the birds on a rotisserie on the barbecue pit. Indirect heat, little apple chips kind of smoking it up real good. Apple chips. Yeah. And then I'll cook it for about three and a half hours. First two come off. Next two go on. It's badass. Can I bring my folks over? Like later in the day for some pumpkin pie or something? Absolutely. You know, when I read this, I thought, I wonder if Jay would let me pay him to give him a turkey and have him throw my turkey in with his turkeys as he's doing this. What's another five turkeys for each of us? Let's do this. We need a bigger barbecue pit. Oh, man. That sounds so good. Man, I tell you, it is the best turkey. We've been doing it now for about five years this way, and it's got this rub. We put it on it right at the end. It's a real hot rub. That's, that's, that's, that's. Man, it just makes my mouth water. How long does it take? To do the whole process? It takes about three and a half hours to cook the bird. How long does the hot rub take? Yeah, I'll give you one in a minute. It's about 24 hours of brine to do the brine. Oh, wow.
My mouth is watering right now. There's cloves. Kim puts all kinds of stuff. There's apple cider or apple vinegar in there to help kind of cook the turkey a little bit. Mom, I hope you're listening. What's one more turkey? What's one more turkey? What's one more turkey thrown in there? What's five more? If I start the day before, then I'm all, if you don't mind getting your turkey the day before, I'll do it for you. Dude, I'll buy it. Tuesday. Today. I just want one for the weekend. Can you make one for me like today? I'm taking orders apparently. Everybody has to do their own turkeys. I don't. That is a tradition. I'm not doing my own turkey. I ordered the whole thing done. Me too. I'm not doing my own turkey. You guys. We don't know how to do turkey at my house. I want to visit. Yeah, but are you going to make anything? No. We're not making anything. I did order it from wild time. Your wife, Jamie, is going to make something. She's not making anything. I'm telling you. I ordered, remember when we had last week, Wild Time was in here? Yes, but that's no fun. Sienna. That's fun. They have...
Everything. We've got pumpkin pie, pecan bars. What are you making? You need to make something. I make the desserts. I make a strawberry pie. Now this isn't the average pie. It's like a huge sugar cookie with a frosting that I make from scratch with strawberries and glaze over it. Maybe I will because they go quick. You know what I'm going to make? I'm going to watch football. That's what I'm going to make. That's the deal. I want to be able to visit. it with my family and I want to be able to watch football. Pumpkin pie, make that. The turkey is nothing. I understand if you don't want to make a pie from scratch, that's a beating. Pain. Pain. Turkey? Yeah, you know why I'll be? Leave it. Okay, here's the deal. You got to either buy it fresh or frozen, alright? And then you buy it fresh? Yeah, I like it fresh. Okay, and then you have to... Deal with it. Meaning that you got to take it out of that thing. Thaw it. It's all slimy. Comes out red and pink with the blood. It's the easiest part of the skewers. Just wash it down real good. It's hard getting it on the skewers to put it on the rotisserie. The what? The skewers that go into it to put it on the rotisserie. Because you have to get the bird balanced. What do you call them? Skewers. Well, whatever. Ignore him. You're a diva.
Kind of. I'm a diva that's not making his own Thanksgiving dinner, I'll tell you that. The two of you are turkey scourges. No turkey for you, Woods. I'm going to make it old-fashioned. Whoa, whoa. That's not what I wanted, you. That's not what I wanted on you. Let's do this instead. There we go. See some Woods on sports. I'm so excited for Thanksgiving. Me too. I cannot wait. You guys are going to bring leftovers? Yes. Yeah. Woods on Sports is brought to you by our friends at Clearview Eye and Laser Medical Center. Well, there was an NFL game last night, and it was kind of a laugher. Cut one. Down to five seconds left. Thigpen looking to throw. Thigpen throws over the middle. This will be the final play of the game. Catch is made, and it's over. Ricky Williams driven down.
The Chicago Bears have come into Miami and shut out the Dolphins. That must have been fun. For just the second time in 40 years, the Dolphins are blanked at home. Oh, boy. 16-0 was the final. Oh, boy. Just an absolute snoozer. Wow. I forgot to set my lineup. Oopsie. L-O-B. God. Never playing again. Never playing fantasy football with us again. Maybe just men play. What? No. What? I was like the second to last seed, and I have a crappy team, and this is the hand. Just give up. That's what you do. Just give up. Just give up. And screw everybody else in the league. The Chicago Bears defense last night was definitely something to ride home about. They gave up 187 yards. One third down conversion all night for the Dolphins, which is just insane. Oh, my. Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams combined for, you ready for this? Yeah. 11 rushing yards. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. That is it. And Jay Cutler was, you know, okay, Captain Dumbface. Actually, he's Prince Dumbface. Dude. But here he was 16 to 25 for 156.
156 yards, zero TDs. He even sounds like a jerk in this clip. Cut to. It's a Thursday game. You know, we don't have it. We're just coming down here and seeing how it goes. You know, we had two days prepared. So, you know, that's how it goes like this. We're just going to come out here and if we're running the ball well, we're going to run it. If we've got to air it out, we're going to air it out. Woods has two hot spots. Harry Potter and Jake Cutler. Yeah, it's true. And the Boston Red Sox, too. And Rex Ryan. He's all right. I don't mind. He's kind of a clown. He's kind of a clown. Michael Vick. Don't even get me started. Don't even get me started. Also, Felix Hernandez won the AL Cy Young Award yesterday with a phenomenal record of 13-12. It's about pitching. It is about pitching. I was really bummed because CeCe Sabathia was 21-7. Pitches in a much tougher town in a much tougher division. Now, Felix did really well against the East. But how bad did he do against the rest of the league if he lost 12 games? It's not about wins. Yeah, I know, Mike. I know it's not. Come on now. I know it's not. I was just bumped. 21 wins and 7 losses. It's a pretty good season. But 13-12, you know, whatever. He was a dominant pitcher, and he did win the Cy Young. Good for him. Maybe they got to get some run support. Well, maybe. And you know what? After all, he is a mariner, so you got to hang your hat on something. Yeah. You know? Good luck. Congratulations. And then here's the story Mike talked about in the open. The Cam Newton story, it's kind of...
Picking up some steam. So they have hired an attorney, the Newton family. Cecil and Cam have hired an attorney, George Lawson, and he has said that he is, quote, one million percent certain that Cam Newton did not take any money. He said if Cecil Newton, his father, took money, Cam knew nothing about it. Now, how do you feel about that? What if his dad did take money? Should he be punished, he being Cam? If he wasn't involved. Well, what we've heard is that Cam... Called an official at Mississippi State and said, I'd really like to play for you guys. I'm sorry, but, you know, my dad needs more money for me to be able to play there. And so... We've got to go somewhere else. Yeah, so they have said that the Newton family has participated and cooperated with the authorities, and they've done everything they're supposed to do. I don't think there's any question that Cam Newton knew nothing about any money discussions if any money discussions were had, is what their attorney is saying. And, you know, he seems to be a pretty good kid. He's had some troubles in the past. Guy's a great, great quarterback, man, and he is playing really well for Auburn. And then, finally, some really good news for Chargers fans.
Malcolm Floyd and Legado Nane are back on the field, and they are both ready for takeoff on Monday night against the Broncos. They both had hamstring injuries, but they are ready to go. Malcolm Floyd, they said, looked absolutely dynamite in practice. Really? So they are ready to rock, and that is going to be a fun Monday night here between the Chargers and the Broncos. Yes, it is. That's Woods on Sports. I guess I got to go get changed. Yes, you do, Woodsy. Woodsy's going to be down at Friars and Frisee, the intersection dressed. as a wizard this morning. 7.30 to 8 o'clock. Make sure you drive by. Should I put a big dip of snuff in and have snuff pulling down that beard? There's an 11-year-old kid that claims that at 4 years old, this is making a lot of news today, that he died and went to heaven. And he and his dad were interviewed on TV, but I'm skeptical. You decide next. Let's make some noise in here.
And Woodsy is in here dressed as a wizard already. He is going to be going down to the corner of Friars and Frizee. He'll be down there from 7.30 to 8 o'clock dressed as a wizard and casting spells. I'll be down there from 7.30 to 7.32. So if you miss your window, I'm really sorry. I can't wait to see you. It's unbelievable, this costume. I want to hear honking and screaming. He'll be on the phone with us the whole time. That's what we're looking for. We're looking for people, you know, M1s to drive by and honk their horn. And I will be dictating spells. Tell them what corner, Mike. Friars and Frizee. Southwest corner. Southwest corner, Friars and Frizee. Right off the 163. Yeah, yeah. So it'll be right there by Hazard Center. It's off the 163. Woods will do repeat after me. Perfect. Yeah, I'll read you the spells. You will read them. Oh, look it. Oh, my gosh. You have like a little wand now. He made a wand. A little cork wand. In 30 seconds. With butter knives. Love it. Butter knives and electrical tape. That's great. It works. That's beautiful. Let's see. Okay, so I want to remind people that we are going to be doing Mikey-thon 2010. This thing is going to happen on...
December 16th and 17th. And it's going to be... 28 straight hours of us broadcasting on the radio with no commercials. And we do it to raise money for Rady Children's Hospital and their Autism Discovery Institute. You know, they did such amazing things for my son, Jake, who's autistic. And we just want to do something to try to raise money for a really great cause. And it's Rady Children's Hospital. And we're really happy to be doing that. Don't forget, word of the day is Kool-Aid. When I say that word, caller number nine wins a new Mikey Show t-shirt and a pair of sunglasses from Anarchy. What? I got this thing. I got to take care of this. What are you doing? I have to do this. What is it? Oh, you're putting on stuff? I got to get like this up and through. Just ignore him. Yeah, just leave me. All right. There you go. Little headphones for the telephone. Yeah. Secret Ops. Secret Ops. You know what? Remember that app? Yeah.
We've got to try that. The side quarter? Should I take the recorder now? No, no, no. Yesterday, remember? JR came in. JR, one of our engineers came in. He showed us an app that lets you broadcast from your iPhone. Like broadcast quality. Of course. We've got to ask him about that because it would be great to send Woods down there with that. That would be awesome. You'd have to use an iPhone though. Probably cut out. Yeah, the reception. Blackberry haters. Or lovers. Lovers. I love the iPhone. Okay, so an 11-year-old claims that when he was four years old that he died and went to heaven. He's with his dad. They have a new book. Take a listen to this. Here's an amazing story for you folks. A life-saving surgery ended up being a life-altering experience. He was just shy of four years old. When he went in for emergency surgery, he slipped out of consciousness, and that's when he says he entered into heaven. He met people he never knew, like his grandfather and St. John the Baptist. Colton Burpo and his father, Todd, that is, highlight this remarkable... Now, already I'm like...
How does a four-year-old know who John the Baptist is? Maybe he introduced himself. Hey, how you doing? John the Baptist. How are you? But also, he's 11 now. How does he remember this? Yes. I don't remember the things when I was almost four. Well, let's keep listening. Experience in the new book, Heaven is for Real. And they both joined me this morning. Good morning. Good morning, Gretchen. Good morning. What an amazing story. Todd, let me start with you. You're facing a crisis. Your son in emergency surgery. You think you might not be able to save him. He recovers. It's a miracle. But then you hear a story you never thought you'd hear. Yeah, we went through the scariest ordeal of our lives, watching our son suffer. He was misdiagnosed. He had appendicitis. They thought he had the stomach flu, and by the time they figured out what was really wrong with him, we figured his appendix had probably been in bursts for about five days. Oh, my gosh. He was one really just sick, really, very sick child. And when we finally got out of the hospital, all of a sudden, it took a long time, but he started sharing stories and things with us, and all of a sudden, we realized something special happened while Colton was in the hospital. Right, because, Colton, you were able at that age for...
to tell your parents that you were above them while you were being operated on, and where did you see them? Well, I saw my dad in a little room talking to God, and then I saw my mom in another room talking on the phone and talking to one of her friends. And Todd, there was no way he would have known about that, right? No. While those events were happening, he was in surgery under anesthesia, and when he starts describing where we were at and what we were doing, I was stunned. I was like, how does he know that? What do you guys think of that? I've heard a lot of, I watched a documentary on this too. And I think a lot of people have described that, been able to see things that there's no way they would have been able to see unless they were kind of like out of body floating around. Saw the behind the music on Motley Crue. Nikki Sixx said he was hovering above his body.
Oh, then it's got to be real. Of course it's true. Nikki Sixx said it. I don't know. I'd buy it. Yeah, I'd buy it. I think, though, it's weird that this kid's 11 now. I think that his dad is like, okay, you told us this. You have to remind a kid you don't remember. Yeah. Where he began. Unless they've been shopping it for years. Yeah. And they've been talking about it since he was four. You know, journaling it. Yeah. Chronicling it. It's true. Let's not all be so cynical. Well, this is the reason I'm cynical about it. It's hard for me to imagine a four-year-old going, hey, dad. You were on the phone, and it just happened. So it just happened, right? So he's four years old, and he's like, Dad, you were talking on the phone of God, and Mom was talking to a friend in another room. It doesn't sound like four-year-old dialogue to me, but I could be wrong. I mean, listen, I don't know. Kids say the darndest things. Kids say the darndest things. I also started to tell you about Pop, who was your grandfather. Was your grandfather his grandfather? Anyway, he had been deceased for 30 years? Yeah, it was my grandfather, Colton's great-grandfather, and I was really close to him as a child. And Pop was a special person in my life, but he was killed in a car wreck before I turned seven. He can recognize pictures of Pop as a young man, talks about the time I spent with him as a child. It's incredible. Now that is, now here's where it seems weird to me. Because that seems like to me, his dad was going, see this picture? Is that who you saw? I'm being cynical, I know, but it's...
No, no. Maybe. You know, Mike, this happened to Meredith on Grey's Anatomy. Did it? The same thing. The same exact thing? She went underwater and almost drowned. She did? She was having surgery. They were trying to save her. And then she saw other people who had died in that same hospital talking to her, coaching her to go back. Well... Yes. Sounds real. Sure, I did see that. It can happen. Didn't you see flatliners, Mike? Of course it can happen. Yes, I did. I guess it can happen. I'm being cynical. But imagine, like... You know, worst case scenario, Jake had some similar surgery and he came out and started saying, Daddy, I saw you. You were in this room. And what he's describing is you praying, maybe. Yeah. I don't know, man. It's I'm just my observation is it seems far fetched. That surprises me. Why? That's your observation because you're a real spiritual guy. Well, yeah, but I'm also observational. Right. You know, I'm pretty observational. And, you know, my now.
My faith beliefs say he's absolutely full of it. But, you know, I'm just trying to make observational, you know, an observational deal. You also, Colton, say that God is a very, very big person, right? Yeah, he can actually fit the entire world into his hands. Well, I believe the song says, he's got the whole world in his hands. He's got the whole world in his hands. He's got the whole world in his hands. He's got the whole world in his hands. Thank you. So many people want to know what you now know. What about Jesus? Well, Jesus, he had a rough but kind face, sea blue eyes. Okay. Four-year-old kid. Hey, Dad, saw Jesus. Sea blue eyes, can you believe it? Listen, I would have... Dad, what trips me out here, Pop, I would have pegged him for a hazel-eyed guy. Turns out, sea blue eyes.
You know, which is like most Jewish guys living in Jerusalem at the time. They were really the color of azure is what they were. Yes, azure, yes. He's articulating now. Seafoam. Seafoam? Seafoam. There's crayons called sea blue, seafoam, all that stuff. So he's articulating now as an 11-year-old. Jesus also had some freckles on his face. It was like a star constellation. Yeah. Well, it was like the constellation Iopa. Exactly. It was just like that. His freckles were shaped like the Constellation Ioba. I think if you saw Jesus, you would remember every detail about him. Yeah, but would you say sea blue eyes? Yes. As a four-year-old? If they were that blue, he's 11 now. Hey, listen, I'm 40. I'm like, dang, that's a pretty good description. Yeah. I would say sea blue. You would? I would not. They had a hint of periwinkle. Yeah, little periwinkle, little sea blue. I can't decide. And a smile that lit up the heavens. Oh, boy. And what about old people? They are not up in heaven, right? No, just young adults. Yeah, the good news, Gretchen, is when you go to heaven, it'll be the young version. A lot of us, including myself, like to hear that part of it. Todd, real quickly, I want to get...
What happened about a miscarried child that you and your wife had and what Colton told you? Yeah, we were in the living room one day, and just like any typical day, and he's four at the time, he kind of comes bouncing in the room, and he just goes up to his mom and says, Mom, I have two sisters. And it took us a while to ask him, what are you talking about? And he just looks at his mom and says, Mom, you had a baby die in your tummy, didn't you? And just time stopped. And she's like, who told you that? And Colton's like, well, she did. She told me she died in your tummy. Amazing. And it just, wow, yeah. Wow. Well, I mean, listen, there's no doubt about it. It's a very fantastic story, you know, at the least. But, man, it's pretty out there. I like to believe. You do? I do, too. I'm a believer. Yeah. Well, Sienna, what was that thing that you were saying? Okay, on Grey's Anatomy? I could talk Grey's all day. Well, no. Please do. There was something that you were like, oh, it was the guy in the time traveler. Oh, the Charlie Chaplin thing? And you wanted to believe that this guy had traveled. He had traveled in time. Totally. Why wouldn't he travel in time? It's possible. It could. Everything's possible.
But what was your deal with the Grey's Anatomy? Well, Meredith Grey, the main girl, she had drowned in water. There was a big accident on the show and she went underwater and she drowned and her dreamy saved her and brought her back to the hospital. But she almost didn't make it. She was in surgery, and she died for a second. She broke up with McDreamy. What did McDreamy do? McDreamy was operating. McDreamy was so upset that he was waiting in the hall on the floor. So she saw her friend's former fiancé, who had died on the show, saw him, Denny, in heaven. She went to heaven and heaven to her was in the hospital. So she saw Denny. She saw some other people who had died in the hospital and they coached her to go back to the light. Here's a clip from the show. Mr. Donaldson. Yes. I regret to inform you that your wife has passed away. Really? Yes. It's too bad. But I'm now happy to inform you she's back. Oh, terrific.
You guys are monstrous. So there was no Donaldson character on the show. So no life insurance money? No? Is it really appropriate for you to be asking? Well, you know, I'm a realist. I got business to take care of. So she's here or she's gone? She's here, but technically she died. So she did die. Do you think they'll let that slide? Here's the deal, sir. Here's the deal. How much is the policy worth? A million. Maybe a doctor could help you to show some paperwork that shows that she was gone. Okay. But maybe that doctor... fictitious doctor would need a cut. That's fine. Do you think they'll prorate it or do you think they'll give you the whole thing? They'll probably give you the whole thing depending on what time I date it. I mean, what time a doctor would date it because I don't have any knowledge of any such doctor. Nor do I. And it didn't exist. So if it did happen, if you did. But let's say that it did. I'd say that that doctor's cut would probably be quarter milk. That's a lot of dough. I know it is.
That doctor would have to be kind enough to actually go through with it. I would think a doctor would really be right around $200,000. Done. That is lovely. That is the sweetest story I've ever heard on Grey's Anatomy. It was on last night. I'm going to go home and watch it when I get home later today. Always know when my wife's watched it because her eyes are puffy. All the time. From downstairs. You guys know the story about how apparently in Sacramento, somebody drove through the drive-thru at Burger King, got a receipt. The receipt said, handwritten on there, F you. Yeah. Now, and the people that did it have been fired. But the crazy part about it is they could have been doing this for a long time. Nobody noticed it because people don't check their receipt. Never. They really don't check their receipt. So they could have been doing it for a long time. Sign of the Times, you know, terrible. Can't believe that somebody would actually... do that. But Woods went down yesterday to talk to some folks and find out what they thought about this thing that had been happening. Wait a minute. That's not it. I did. I'm learning. Here we go. First person he talked to was somebody by the name of James. How you doing, man? What's your name?
James. James, I'm Steve. I'm with the Mikey Show on 94.9. Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you, brother. How are you? I'm all right. Good. All right, so you see the Burger King behind me. Yeah. It wasn't this Burger King, but there's a news story out right now of these kids that were working at Burger King, and they were writing F.U. on customers' receipts, thinking probably they weren't going to read them. Okay. They did read them. What do you think about that? I think it's disrespectful because, I mean, nobody's got an order in there for F.U. Right. Yeah, nobody ordered FU on the menu. That is a point. Because at some places, perhaps, that's on the menu. At this particular Burger King, it's not on the menu. It's proven not to be on the menu. And that gentleman knows it was, in fact, not on the menu. Fries, check. Milkshake, check. Check. FU? I think it's a special. I think it's a special, though. You can ask for it. What would you do if it happened to you? I would have complained. Just complained? Do you think you would have gotten in their face at all? Not really, though, because I try not to be violent, but you've got to go to jail over that. That's their problem, so let them handle it. That is a great answer, dude. Thank you very much. There you go. Asked and answered. How about the lady that worked in the Burger King? How are you? Can I get a whopper?
No cheese, no onions, no tomato. Boring. You just got a bun? And like a small drink. Small? That's fine. Just for the drive home. Just need a little appetizer. Appetizer. Yeah, to go. There you go. Fresh five for you. How's your day? Any fallout from the Burger King story in the news? Did you hear about the kids writing FU on people's receipts? Oh, yeah. Was it a Burger King? I don't know where it was. It's pretty gnarly, though. No, yeah. It's pretty gnarly. But we did the story today, and I got excited, and I wanted some Burger King. So I needed to come get a Whopper. True story. True story. And finally, Woodsy spoke to a couple of gentlemen that... spoke some English. All right, man, I'm standing out here in front of Burger King, just got myself a whopper, and ran into these two gentlemen. Have you guys heard the latest news story about Burger King? No. Okay, it's a couple of kids were writing bad messages on people's receipts. Okay, what would you do if that happened to you? Okay, and would that make you mad?
Okay, fair enough. Thanks, fellas. What did they say, Mikey? I don't even know. I'm the worst Mexican in the world. Write that down. Okay, so Woods is going downstairs right now. When we come back... Woods will be on the corner of Friars and Frisee in a wizard outfit. Harry Potter is out in theaters, and Woods is going to go down and cast spells on people in his wizard outfit. And this is what we want from M1s. First of all, we want you to drive by this intersection. It's right off the 163. Friars and Frisee over there by Hazard Center. And we want you to honk and support him and give him encouragement as he casts his spells. That's next. Let's make some noise in here with our live studio audience. Let's make some noise in our live studio audience. Woodsy is down on the corner right now of Friars and Frazee on the southwest corner. And if you are driving by there, we want you to honk. We're going to be going to him live here in just a couple seconds. He'll be there until 8 o'clock this morning.
Now, word of the day is Kool-Aid. We want you to know the word of the day is Kool-Aid. And when I say that, when I weave it into a sentence, caller number nine gets a Mikey Show t-shirt, pair of anarchy sunglasses, and you qualify for the drawing we're doing today for a two-night stay at the Aquarius Casino Resort in Laughlin. That's worth $500. So get ready for that. 8 o'clock EBW is going to be in here, and we will play my old Michael Shannon tapes at 8.30. Yes. Woodsy, are you there? I got you, buddy. How are you? I've been better. Uh-huh. Oh, my God. Woodsy is on the corner of Friars and Frisee, and he is dressed as a wizard. And if you drive by, we want you to honk as you drive by. If you see Woodsy. They're honking. They're honking. Yes, we do. A lot of M1s. And, you know, the point is, is that Harry Potter came out last night at midnight.
We thought it would be appropriate to send you down there dressed as a wizard and cast some spells. Anybody that knows anything about Woods knows that there's nothing more humiliating to him than being dressed as a wizard. He has a long gray beard that goes down to his belly button with long gray hair down his back. Yes. Looks like, what's the wizard's name? Dumbledore? Yeah, he looks like Dumbledore. Exactly. Dumbledore. Dumbledore. This morning. So, Woods, I've got some spells for you that I've written out here. Are you ready to do this? Yeah, I need that. Do I need somebody to do it, too? What's that? You're going to cast spells on cards. You're just going to cast spells on cards. Okay, let's go. We can see you, by the way. Yeah, if you drive by Honk, are you ready? Yes. You got to repeat after me. And you got to do it, you know, you really got to give it some, you know, some oomph here. But let's get this thing going. Expecto Dreamo Infinius. Dreamo Infinius. You mortis lomo briar witch. You mortis lomo. I cast a spell upon you now.
Look at me, I'm Gargamel. That's a good one. Alright, here's another one for you. I've cast a spell upon a sheep. Lumos Trego, pumpkin pie. I like Taylor Swift, but I'm a guy. I like Taylor Swift, but I'm a guy. Yeah! By the way, if you see Woods out there and you're driving your car, please honk. Fryer's in for Z. And he's going to be out there until 8 o'clock doing this. Am I? Yes, you are. You ready? Yeah. Impervo Drievis. May love A. Impervo Drievis. May love A. Upon this street, I must stay.
Upon this street, I must stay. Dress me once, and I'm a dunce. Dress me once, and I'm a dunce. Dressed me twice, I've lost my nuts. Dressed me twice, I've lost my nuts. With enthusiasm. With enthusiasm, Woods. Come on, Blonde. Come on. With enthusiasm, Woods. Loomis Rivas. Loomis Rivas. Loomis Rivas. Relatio Corvus Crispus Yar she blows Wave my stick that's made of cork Wave my stick that's made of cork I'm the cutest little dork I'm the cutest little dork Woodsy, you're doing a great job. Can we hear it for him in the studio by the way? Woodsy right now on the corner of Friars and for Z if you're driving by. If you're an M1, give Woodsy a nice little honk of encouragement. And we have a guy that's going down there right now. He's got an FM 94.9 sign for you to hold so everybody knows that they could put it on 94.9. That's great. Jeremy's one of our engineers. Now, Woods, what kind of looks are you getting?
Everybody's laughing. Everybody's just laughing. I feel nude right now. Yeah. Now, can you do me a favor? Can you do me a favor? You know, twirl yourself around, you know, and then... Are you twirling? Okay, so twirl yourself around, and then when you're done twirling, I want you to take your little wand and do like a little... It's funny because he's fat. Wow, he's doing it. Let's have another round of applause. Now maybe do the I'm a little teapot dance. Yeah, can you do the I'm a little teapot dance? And sing, and sing at the same time. And sing it. I don't know what that is. Okay, I'm a little teapot, short and stout. Here is my handle, here is my stout. Shout, tip, you know, pour me out. How do you feel, Woods? Is everything... Yeah.
It's fantastic. Can he act like he's conducting an orchestra? Yeah, can you do like you're conducting an orchestra now, maybe? Yeah, well, there you go. Have you seen any boobs yet? No, I need some boots. Yeah, I don't really think there's a lot of call for, like, wizard groupies. This morning there is. I get the feeling there might not be a lot of wizard groupies. You know, also, if you're driving by and you can take a picture of him, we'd love to have you do it, you know, put it on our Facebook page, the Mikey Show Facebook page. I just watched the guy. He was not happy. Yeah, well, you're not. You're doing spells, dude. I just put a spell on a guy, and he was not happy at all. It's funny because Woods is naked underneath that robe. That's so weird. That's so weird and filthy and disgusting. Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay. 570-1949, if you've actually seen Woods, we have a guy on the line right now that is across the street. It's M1 Pablo at the gas station across the street. Is that right? Hey, what's up, dude? I see you.
Your comment, I'm surprised he doesn't have a ciggy sticking out of that beard right now. I had one, I had one, and guys, yeah, man. Knowing Woods, he'd catch himself on fire. I almost put my beard on fire. Oh, my God. We've got to turn that back in. Yeah, maybe. Number two, hey, Woods, you're not as fat as you talk about, buddy. I got a lot of layers on, pal. That's fantastic. Hey, what is, so tell me, Pablo, as far as wizards go, does he look like a wizard? To be honest with you, he's probably going to bring in some good business for Barnes & Noble. Yeah, he's going to sell a lot of copies of Harry Potter. There you go. Now he's got the sign going. There you go. Now we got a little plug-in. Oh, they're honking now. Yeah, we got a lot of M1s that are driving by. Again, Friars and Frisee. Woods dressed up. Hey, how you doing? Kid's doing real good out there. Show him your staff, Woods. Show him your staff. What an idiot. Sometimes a kid can do dumb things, right? All right. Well, Woodsy, we're going to call you back. I won't be able to hear you, pal. Oh, you won't be able to hear the phone ring? Oh, you just put him on hold. Oh, yeah. I'll just put you on hold then. Okay, I'll just stand there. Yeah, just stand there. Just stand there. Keep dancing. Yeah, like a sign spinner. Keep dancing. Oh, yes.
Yeah, see if you could do like a sign spinner. Live out your dream. Yeah, this is it. It's hard to do. All right, I'm going to put you on hold. All right. Hang on. There he is. Poor guy. It's Woods. Oh my gosh, if you can drive by before 8 o'clock, please. That is hilarious. We can see him from the studio. What a trooper. Oh man, I hope we got somebody out there taking pictures. Please. Oh yeah, Adam's out there taking pictures and video. Oh good. Yeah, he's got an entourage out there. Let me tell you, it was so funny because we can see from our, we're in the Booz Allen Hamilton building and from our perspective up on the 7th floor, we got a perfect view of the southwest corner of Friars and Frazee. So we see the FM 94.9 van pull over to the side of the road. and put the hazard lights on so that nobody would hit it. And I'm like, this is great. And like the president departing from Air Force One, you see that passenger door open up and with all the fanfare, out steps this six foot tall wizard in a gray cloak. And he puts on his wizard hat and you just see people, because there were people out there, running.
to get a great perspective of it and start taking pictures, which they must have been M1s. Now we know M1 Pablo is out there. And there's a guy on the line right now, M1 Kyle, who was out there. Are you there, Kyle? Yeah, man. Kyle from Claremont. So what's the deal? You saw Woodsy out there? I was saying he'd be there. So we swung by and we saw him on the corner. So we made the left. I had a cigarette in my hand. My buddy was like, give him a cigarette. And I'm like, sure. So I rolled down the window and I flashed. He knocked a cigarette and his eyes lit up like a little kid. Of course. He was real excited, I bet. He doesn't mind taking anything from any stranger and consuming it. He just doesn't. Yeah, exactly. He was like, yes! And he just ran over to the truck and I got out and gave him the cigarette. Oh, boy. Please don't light your beard on firewoods. Yes, don't. Hey, thank you for the call. Sorry, man.
We appreciate it. And if you've seen Woods or if you've talked to Woods, you can call us 570-1949 and make sure that you honk as you drive by. You still doing okay, buddy? I'm doing good. How are you guys doing? We're great. We're great. Just want to make sure you're all right and that you haven't lit your beard on fire. Yeah, I'm sure that we will do that. We'll put aside a little plate for the little wizard. You guys are looking good. Hey, Woods. Hi. Do you feel self-conscious at all? No, I'm kind of over it. I'm kind of embracing it right now. You have 14 more minutes. No, I do not have 14 more minutes. Yes, you do. You got 14 full more minutes? You're more than halfway there. You're almost there, buddy. You're in the home stretch. You're in the home stretch. Just hang on the line, buddy. There he is. It's our boy Woods. Okay, let's see. So this was yesterday's Good Morning America. Donald Trump went on yesterday's Good Morning America.
And said this. I tell you, I am thinking about things. And I'm looking at this country, George, and what's happened in terms of respect. And he's thinking, Sienna, of running for president. Yes, he is. Now, this is about the second, maybe third time that he's claimed something like this. And so we're like, OK, is this Donald Trump just being, you know, pulling another publicity stunt, just trying to get in the news, do, you know, like he likes to do. He's claiming he's going to do it. Would you vote for him? I would not vote for Donald Trump. I don't think anyone would. Here's one of the things that he says that he would do as president. I have many people from China that I do business with. They laugh at us. They feel we're fools. You know, they're getting away with absolute murder. They're making the products that we used to make in this country. They're making them in China. We're rebuilding China. If you were president, what would be different? Well, I do things very strongly. I tax China. They manipulate the currency. By manipulating the currency, it's very hard to compete with China. You tax China, they stop financing our debt. Our economy collapses. We tax China, we'll pay off their debt very quickly because that's the kind of money. Why would they go for it? No, they don't have to. It's us. It's us. We have the cards because we're the ones that are spending all of this money in China. But don't they have the cards because they're our bankers? I don't think so at all. Well, with all due respect, Mr. Trump,
I don't think that we would pay off the national debt from that tax. From just China tax? He's going to call it the China tax. Yeah, China tax. Yeah, pay everything off with the China tax. Let's see. Here's another clip from yesterday. When people tell me from other countries that they no longer respect our country. Whether you like Ronald Reagan or didn't like Ronald Reagan, I mean, there was a level of respect for this country that we had. You think President Obama doesn't have that? He's had periods where he's quite popular around the world. Well, initially he was. I mean, certainly initially he was. But we cannot let the rest of the world beat us up. I mean, we're like a whipping post right now. Our economy stinks. He said it could be fun because I'd like to see some positive things happen for the country. He also said he'd happily take on Sarah Palin. So would I. Yeah. I mean, at this point, you know, anybody. This isn't The Apprentice, pal. I know. You're fired. You're fired. And I, you know, maybe it's just wishful thinking, but I really don't believe that Sarah Palin would be the nominee. I hope not. And she knows exactly what she's up to. Here she is.
I'm looking at the lay of the land now and trying to figure that out. Are you? Don't you know? I'm trying to figure out if I'm north or south of California. Maybe get a compass, Sarah. You know, I don't know how to read those things. It's so cryptic. Apparently, that or the New York Times. Those are two things that give you a hard time. I read highlights. Highlights is always good. I try to look for things. Find the missing squirrel. Yeah, exactly. Exactly, Sienna. Mad Magazine. Oh, I don't know that. You don't know that? No. It's a good thing for the country, for the discourse, for my family, if it's a good thing. If you ran for president. If you ran for president. What is one of the first twings you would do? I don't run exactly. I do jazzercise. So I wouldn't really run for president. Would you beat Barack Obama? I believe so. Yeah, well, don't you have to? You have to believe that you can. Yeah. That's no surprise. It's just, boy, I hope it ain't Sarah Palin. As a conservative, I hope it's not Sarah Palin. But she has a reality show and everything. Oh, that's the goofier thing. I know. Can't believe it. I watched it.
You did? Did I? I think it was one of the most watched TLC shows ever. Preview, debut, yeah. Yeah, I watched some of it. I fell asleep during the end of it. Was it dumb? Or was it at all compelling or interesting? I was kind of entertained. How? Just because she's so ridiculous. Is that the deal? But also, you see in her house, you see her talking to her husband, Todd, and the kids are there. I mean, I really wanted to see. Is she acting exactly the same? Yeah, I thought so. Hey. Thank you. What is this gentleman's name? What's your name, sir? Mark, thank you so much. Mark ran down and got a big FM 94.9 placard for Woodsy to be holding on to. He offered to do it like a champion. That's right. Hey, Woods, are you there? Hi, buddy. Hey, so how's it going down there? It's awesome, man. People driving by, giving them a shout out. You know, the whole thing. It's great. There you go. Woods dressed as a wizard. Dumbledore. Dumbledore. No cheeseburgers yet. I thought somebody was going to bring me cheeseburgers. They don't sell them until 10. Yeah, we talked yesterday about how Woods said that he would eat a cheeseburger right through the paper. Yeah, like he just gets after those burgers so quickly that he doesn't care if some paper gets in there. Yeah. They don't sell them until 10? Yeah, I don't think they start serving breakfast until 10. Hey, if I know you, it's Mickey D's. All right. I thought it was breakfast until 10.30. Yeah.
up to the house. Alright, go ahead and bring it back up to the house. No, but people may be driving until 8 o'clock. Is that a woman? Yeah, he has to stay until we get off for commercial because people are on their way, and if they get there in time and he's not there... I don't want to disappoint people. I don't want to disappoint people. I want to give them the best wizard woods that I can possibly give them. Yes, at least three more minutes. Alright, hang on, woods. Hang on. You're a good sport. Okay, so Sienna, tell me about the San Diego ticket hotspots. Where in San Diego are people getting tickets the most? You know, we all see those cops hiding, and it's the worst. But here's a list of where they like to hide. The 805 from Market Street to Murray Ridge, that's where they get the most tickets. Really? Yeah. Market to Murray Ridge. 805 from Market Street to Murray Ridge. Also on the 5 from the 52 to Via de la Valle. Got it. Yep. I got snagged there. Yep. The 805 from the border to Market Street. Got it.
The I-15 from Claremont Mesa to the 56. Now these are all, I started with the most ticketed areas to the least most, not the least most ticketed areas, but these are like the top 10. It's funny because as you mentioned them, I'm like, yes. Yes. There's always cops there. So I said the I-15 to Claremont Mesa to the 56. Now from the 15, from El Norte Parkway to the 76 on the 15 freeway. On the 8 freeway from Buckman Springs to County Line. Oh, wow. And that's out there, man. That's like way out there. I'm covering all the grounds here. Yeah. The 15 freeway from the 56 to VL Rancho Parkway. And that was 15? Yep. Yeah. The 125 from the 8 to the 52. Mm-hmm. The 5 freeway from the border to the 15. Mm-hmm. And then the last one, the 10th one, the 85 from the... Wait, 85. 805 probably. No, it says 85. It's got to be a typo. It says, I don't know, 85 from the 79 to Buckman Springs Road. Oh, maybe it is. Maybe it's some weird country road. Yeah, from the 85. Weird country road. I was really confused. Yeah, I've never heard of the 85. I never have. Some people must have. I've heard of the 79. Yeah. Yeah. So there you go. Be careful. There was a small earthquake yesterday. Do you know that? Yeah, there was. What time? Did you feel it? Mm-mm.
It was after 5 p.m. or just before 5 p.m. It happened near Borrego Springs. It was a small one, 3.8. It's a baby. But people were feeling it in Rancho Bernardo, Chula Vista, Serena Valley, downtown. A lot of people were reporting it. And also there was another small one on Wednesday, 3.7. Really? Yeah. M1 Daid is on the line from Mission Valley. Are you there? Yeah, I'm here. So what did you want to say? Oh, Woods just makes an amazing wizard. He looks very convincing. Doesn't he? He really does. Oh, he does. I would totally buy a Harry Potter book from him if he would. He'd be making a lot of money doing that. Yeah, I went the long route to work just to go see him. Aw, thank you. Thank you, Daid. Woodsy, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. About to get a picture. Are they taking pictures with you? Oh, yeah. Yeah, we're having a ball. My wife's over at the end of the show right now. Yeah, we're having a ball. That's fantastic. His wife's in the studio. What's her name? Where's the wife? Tia. Tia. Tia, your husband's out there right now. Tell her I said hey. All right, bro. You can come back up now. Oh, boy. Good job, Woods. Hey, Woods, we're playing your Taylor Swift song that you put in every day. There you go. Bring it on home. We'll see you in a minute. How about a round of applause for Woodsy? Pictures will be up if you didn't get to see him live.
We got a couple of things happening when we come back. One is EBW is coming in to introduce a new artist that she's discovered named Skittles. Ooh. Yeah, rap artist. Better than her or worse than her? We'll see. We'll see. You know, George W. Bush apparently got bored. Not being president. And so he saw an ad in the paper and actually showed up to apply for the job. True story. It's one of the craziest things I've ever heard. And he tells the story. It's a true story. We'll do it when we come back. Woodsy is back in the studio with us after going down and being a wizard on the corner of Friars and Frazee. Did a great job. Yes, he did. And we're going to be telling you about George W. George W. Applying for a job because he was born. He's not president anymore. So he decided he's going to apply for a job. We'll do that in just a second. I'm Mikey. That's Woods. That's LOP to my right. That's Sienna to my left. Jay is our producer in the next room. And our phone screener is Chris. Let's see. Word of the day, Kool-Aid. So be listening for that. And don't forget that the...
Michael Shannon tapes are coming up at 830, and Eskimo Blue Waters will be in here in just a few moments. Let's see. There's something going on in the 15 right now, Sienna? Yeah, well, this story came out yesterday, and it's gotten a lot crazier. Yesterday, a gardener who was working in Escondido stepped on something, and it was an explosive, which set off an explosion in someone's yard. 54-year-old George. Jakubek, who lives at this home, he was arrested on suspicion of possession of having destructive material. Really? Now it has gotten a lot crazier. The police showed up yesterday, the FBI, then the bomb squad. And now anyone on the 15 freeway between Center City Parkway and El Norte are going to be stopped for a while. Wow. And you're going to be rerouted because they have closed the freeway between 9 a.m. and noon. Now, don't go anywhere near that area. If you're anywhere near that Center City Parkway and El Norte, it's going to be closed from 9 a.m. until noon by the bomb squad who's doing an investigation with a bomb threat. They're going into this. They think there could be an explosion. Maybe this guy planted something there. I don't know what's going on. No one knows, but there's a bomb investigation right now over there. Guess what? What?
My wife has a job interview right over there at 9 o'clock this morning. Does she really? Oh, my God. It says that drivers will be taken off the highway at Center City and routed through Escondido to State Route 78, which they can get back on the 15 from. But this is crazy. Bomb Squad's conducting an investigation. Again, I'll tell you, it's... between 9 a.m. and noon today on the 15 freeway between Center City Parkway and El Norte Parkway. Crazy stories. So we're going to find out more what's going on. But this started yesterday afternoon. A 49-year-old gardener stepped on this explosive in this guy's backyard. That is nuts. Nothing like closing a highway at about 9 a.m. on a Friday. On a Friday. Oh, my gosh. So if you can avoid that area, avoid that area. Maybe just take it to the house. Yeah. Call it sick. No kidding. Sorry. Yeah, this is nuts. So stay out of there. So last night on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, George W. Bush was on. He's promoting his new book and had this story.
Do you now have to do the married guy stuff? Do you have to go antiquing? Yeah. So I'm lying on the couch. I said, free at last, baby. And she said, now you're free to do the dishes. That's right. And I said, you were greeted at Walmart? I did. Not at Walmart. At the drugstore there in Elliot's drugstore. They put a full-page ad and said, we need a greeter. So I go. The guy walks up to me and says, Can you believe that? I love it. He's bored. He's bored out of his mind. And he's like, yeah, there's an ad in the paper for they need a greeter. All right, I'll go down. I'll do it. Anybody ever tell you you look like George W. Bush? I said, yeah, it happens all the time. And the guy under his breath goes, sure must make you mad. It would be funny if someone was like, no, he doesn't. Not at all. You got guys ever baited a hook? Oh, absolutely. Think he knows how to load a shotgun? So funny. Everyone likes him now. I like him. I used to. Everybody loves him. I'm all the way in. I like him when you're not in charge. That's right. He's a likable guy. He's a good old dude. He's a good old boy. I grew up with those guys. You know, you get a little bit of Obama in there and things aren't moving like people want and then people, George Bush, it wasn't so bad. I'm telling you that movie W that you refused to see, the Oliver Stone movie, it helped.
It helped? It helped you or him? It helped him. It humanized him a little bit. So, all right, it's 8.10, which is late. We were supposed to have EBW in here at 8 o'clock. And as you know, just open the door and let her in. Just open the door. Come on in. Look at that outfit today. Wow. Yeah, yeah. Gorgeous. Yeah, what do you got going on here? I'm a little bit tired. You're a little bit tired? Yeah, I played the premiere of the Harry Potter movie last night. For the people that were in line? In Hollywood? Yeah, just the people in Mission Valley that were in line. Yeah, so not Hollywood. No, I'm not Hollywood. Mission Valley. I'm a local girl, you know. Did you make any money? I got like some toad tails and tadpoles or something like that. Yeah, right. Toad tails. They gave you what they had. Yeah, I had my Hogwarts student hat that I was trying to collect money in. Everyone was doing bits, as you'd say. Yeah. Were they? They were making fun of you? Yeah, well, I don't know. They were kind of like, what are you doing here? Because I wasn't playing anything Harry Potter related. But it went over pretty well.
I sold a CD, so... That's good. A CD. Whose CD? I sold my CD, but I kind of traded it in for... Another CD as well. Oh, okay. I see. That's great. We made a trade. How many CDs did you bring with you? About 73. 73. But you sold one, right? Yeah. Well, I guess I didn't really get any money for it. I bartered for it. You bartered. Right. So you got some maize and some little Hogwarts. Poison's greatest hits. There you go. But that's not why I'm here today. Not about me. Today, you're here in your full regalia. Yep. Eskimo Blue Waters. Her real name is Judy Douche. Judy Douche. You know it. Douche. Too tired for this. Spelled D-O-U-C-H-E. With an accent over the E. Self-imposed accent. That's right. She's from La Jolla. You don't even need to know that because my stage name is Eskimo, so don't bring up old stuff. Yeah, Eskimo Blue Waters. And she is really something else. Big straw. She's got a cowboy hat. Yep.
Vest. Always the vest. Dream catcher. Today I need these sunglasses more than other days. Rings. Lots of rings. At least she's like Keith Richards, as many rings as she has. No bangles. I forgot my bangles today. You've got the bangles. I know. I know. All right. Well, so what are you introducing us to? Well, I found this kid on the streets. Well, not technically on the streets. He came to my parents' driveway because I was selling my turtle, Simon, on Craigslist. On Craigslist. Yeah. Simon? Simon, yeah. You have a turtle named Simon? I had a turtle named Simon. Oh. You sold your turtle on Craigslist. I did, yeah. Got it. I needed some dough, so I was like, what can go here? And Simon and I had a good run, but I wasn't giving him enough attention as it was. Too many gigs and stuff. Yeah, yeah. I was on the road. So people know. On the road. So people know Judy Eskimo. Yes. lives at her parents' house in a multi-million dollar home in La Jolla. I live in my Mustang, which I sometimes park in my parents' driveway or out in front of their house if I don't get a ticket. Got it. Got it. And so, you know, you sold your turtle. I sold Simon. And that's how you met this guy. I met Young Mortimer. Skittles. Well, yes. That is the name. Thank you for stealing my thunder. That is the name that I have coined for him. Skittles. Skittles.
DJ Skittles. No, just Skittles. Just Skittles? Oh, okay. Just Skittles. Skittles. Taste the rainbow? Don't you think a lot of people would draw a correlation between that and Eminem? Because you're kind of... And who? Eminem. No, that's... Don't you spell that with an E or something? Yeah, you do. You do, but it's both candy. No, it's Skittles because... Okay, the kid's got red hair. Okay. So he's very colorful. So... Kind of music. I thought to myself, oh, it's like a rainbow. Kind of music. He's a rapper. Rapper with red hair? In Skittles. It's weird. I saw it written down and she's replaced the S with like a dollar sign. That's right. Oh, like Kesha. One on each end. On both ends. That's right. We got money on both ends. Right. That's how I roll. All right. I like that idea, Eskimo. Skittles. Skittles with a dollar sign. Yeah, because I don't know. White kid, red hair. My dad said something to me the other day that really kind of hurt my feelings, but it got me thinking. He said, those that can do and those that can't. teach. Okay. Or something like that. Something like that. Okay. And I thought, I think that was a dig at me. Yeah. Well, he said it to you. Yeah. No, he said it passive-aggressively to my mom at the dinner table. I wasn't...
I wasn't at the dinner table. I was just coming in to do laundry. Right, gotcha. Clear that up. Gotcha. But yeah, so I thought, man, maybe I could make somebody else if I can't make it. So what do I have? I have a clip of Skittles? I laid down the track on GarageBand. Right. And Skittles came in and he did his thing. 2010. Skittles. Get after it, boy. Yeah. San Diego in the house. Put your hands up to the beach. San Diego. The Chargers. This is the worst thing I've ever heard. What? Let it roll. You got to let it roll. Red-headed white kid? Yeah, exactly. The Padres. San Diego State. Bud Black. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Come on. Wait. He's not. He's getting there. He's just saying random San Diego stuff. He can't just yell random stuff out. He's setting the dump. He's setting it. Ryan Matthews. Surfing. The Five. Del Mar. Skittles.
Don't you dare stop it. I knew you were going to do it. Of course I am. That's the best part. That's supposed to be done electronically. He's doing it with his mouth. Well, we don't have all the money in the world. I know you don't. So we're going to shop around the demo. Maybe don't do that if you're not going to be able to do it. He's a human beatbox. Is he? Kid's got skills. Yeah. Yeah. That's hype. That's what? Hype. That's hype? Hype. You're 40. You don't know what hype is. That's hype. I don't know. H-Y-P-E. What is it? That's dope. That's fresh. That's dope and fresh. That's the shizness. That's the shizness. Hype. All right. My girl, EB-Dub. Where you at? I'm right here. It's the worst thing I've ever heard in my life. Where you at? I'm here. No, he wasn't really. He wasn't really. It's a rhetorical question. It's a rhetorical. I thought he needed something. Okay, I think that's a wrap. Is that it? I nailed it. Oh, man, that's hot-ish. That was tight. That was it. That's it? Yeah. When you said you think that's a wrap, did you mean, like,
That he was rapping? Or you thought maybe we wrap it up? That's a wrap. That's a take. That's it. From the top. Please. 2010. Skittles. Get after it, boy. Yeah. San Diego. In the house. Put your hands up. To the beach. San Diego. The Chargers. The Padres. San Diego State. Bud Black. Ryan Matthews. Surfing. The Five. The Five. Del Mar. Yeah. Yeah. That's hype. Yo, my girl EB-Dub, where you at? I'm right here. I said, where you at? I'm here. Yeah. Okay, I think that's a wrap. Oh my god. I nailed it. That song happened. That was tight. That was tight. Maybe we...
Maybe you don't meet the rappers on Craigslist when you're selling a turtle. I don't know. It's just a thing. Maybe you meet him. He's a diamond in the rough. If I'm not going to find him, who's going to polish off a turd and find him? I am totally in on Skittles, if you ask me. I like his bit of just yelling out. random stuff about the city in which he's in. Yeah, he's trying to represent, you know? I think every song should be the same beat and it's just Chula Vista and it's something new. Qualcomm. Qualcomm. I'm going to write this down. Say it again. And he could travel to LA and he could be like... Hollywood sign. Right. Success Strip. Yeah. Local. Capital Records. Nokia Theater. Roscoe Chicken and Waffles. You guys are thinking big. Yeah. So you see him as a traveling man. Maybe at some point you branch out, you know? Holy crap. Thanks, Eskimo. The Five. It's always great to have. Mexican food. Mexican food. Del Mar. I kind of like it. It's just, you know, bringing it on home. I loved it. Speaking of Mexican food, how's this food? Oh, yeah.
Yeah. Thank you so much. Let's hear it for them. Lolita's. Thank you. Lolita's Taco Shops. They've been around 26 years. And let me tell you something, man. They have dynamite food. In 2009, they opened their newest store. It's Lolita's at the park. Check this out. It's right across from Petco. In the East Village, it's downtown San Diego. Really, really cool. And they got some great stuff. They got the carne asada fries. They got the California burritos. And they have a bunch of different locations. Cool thing for you. Lolita's at the park has a happy hour going on every day from 4 to close and on Sunday from 2 to close. And some of their other locations are Chula Vista, Bonita, and various location in San Diego. So, real cool. Lolita. Lolita. That chicken is so good. Carne asada. 570-1949 is our number. M1 Sanjaya is on the line from San Diego. What's up, Sanjaya? That's great. That's great. Let's hear this again. Skittles.
Get after it, boy. Get after it, boy. San Diego in the house. Put your hands up to the beach. San Diego. The Chargers. The Padres. San Diego State. Bud Black. Ryan Matthews. Surfing. The Five. Yeah Yeah, that's hype yo my girl that's hype where you at?
I have a feeling we're going to hear more from Skittle. Yes. Every day, I hope. 5701949 is our number. Make some noise in here, our live studio audience. You know, the rapper, Chris Brown, had to show up to a probation hearing yesterday for beating up Rihanna. And this judge was, I would say, pretty straightforward. She either told him that he was the best. or the worst probationer she'd ever presided over. Who knows how long she's been a judge, but when we come back, we will play you the actual audio of her saying it. Which was it? By the way, Eskimo, do you have any gigs? I do. I'm really sorry. I forgot. Yeah, you just held up a sign to me that says, I want to promote my gigs! I can't believe I got lost in the hype of this new kid. This weekend, I'm going to be playing the Leap Blowers Association of California. My cousin is the head leaf blower. Is he really? So he pulls some strings. I'm going to be out there. He had to pull some strings, by the way. I'm going to play some ball tunes for the leaf blowers of California. There you go. Well, thank you, Eskimo. Dude, I just piled down about four burritos. Me too. You ever a fat pig? It's hard to resist all the time. Oh, just a pig.
Especially on Friday when they bring us food. It's so good. You know what I've realized? What? My appetite is getting more and more. I can eat more and more in a sitting. I mean, like where I'll eat, you know, because my bit is I eat like a meal on the way home from work. Right. And then I get home and Jamie's like, can we make you a sandwich? I'm like, yeah, sounds good. Throw some Pringles on there too. Yeah. I eat another meal. Don't eat any more on the way home from work then. Hey, the rapper Chris Brown had to show up to a probation hearing the other day with the abuse with Rihanna. And the judge either said that he was the best or the worst probationer that she's ever presided over. We will play you the answer, which was it, coming up in just a minute. First, M1 Chris from Escondido, what was the word of the day? I missed it. I did too. During his... AT&T. Yeah, it happened during commercials that time. Sneaky little devil. And you got it, bro. Hang on a line, okay? What do you think, guys? All right. And this is what we should do. That is officially the fifth person to qualify for our trip to Laughlin this week. So we will have Jay do a drawing and tell Jay. Is Jay standing there? Okay, so Jay will do a drawing. I'll have you do a drawing. Pick the winner.
And get them on the phone for me, okay? That's what I'm doing right now. All right, cool. There it is. Sienna, what's going on in news? Well, keep your eyes open this weekend because the breast cancer three-day walk kicked off. In Del Mar this morning. So you've been seeing a lot of pink people, ladies and gentlemen, walking along the sidewalk. So give them a cheer. Give them a honk. Let them know you're supporting them. For sure. Also, yesterday, a University of California committee approved a plan to raise student fees at California universities by 8% next fall. Now, this is going up a lot. Some students actually are saying that they're going to have to drop out because the fees are being raised again. Wow. Now, they're increasing by $822. to more than $11,000. So, you know, that's a lot of money. It doesn't include campus fees or, you know, room and board or anything like that. So it's getting more and more expensive. Woodsy, what's going on in sports? Well, Bud Selig, the commissioner of Major League Baseball, says that they may be expanding the playoffs. Really? It seems like the playoffs go on for a long time. I'm all the way in. I think two more wildcard teams is awesome for the game. And baseball playoffs are, without a doubt,
The most exciting, man. Every pitch. It's so fun. So they're talking about having that done possibly even next year, maybe the year after. Really? And we're coming up on the one-year anniversary of the Tiger Woods debacle that happened last Thanksgiving. As, you know, all the bad stuff that happened to Tiger happened. Yeah, people don't remember. That Tiger Woods story broke the day after Thanksgiving. Yeah, I think it was actually Thanksgiving night. Yeah. The late night and, you know. Tiger's, I guess, come a long way in a year. Still not playing very good golf, but he said that his life is now blessed and balanced, and he is doing good. He's also opened a Twitter account, Twitter at Tiger Woods, and wrote an essay for Newsweek this week, so check that out. He also said that he blames golf for his affairs, too. Really? I read that, yeah. He blames golf for his affairs. He was interviewed. There's an article in Newsday, and he said he described the emotional pain he's suffering as a result of cheating. He claimed that many of the women, you know, he's saying that golf is the result. Well, then how come, you know, Phil Mickelson hasn't cheated? I don't know. Tiger said golf is a self-centered game. That self-reliance made me think I could tackle the world by myself.
The physical pain from that car accident, you know, he just goes more and more, but he's blaming golf. Puts a whole new meaning on hole-in-one. Oh, boy. Yes, it does. Maybe he's saying a guy like him wouldn't have ever kind of chased after girls, but they were in his face. Really? No, golf makes you self-centered, he says. Well, it does. I mean, golf is a self-centered sport. You're not worried about anything else than your swing, your putting, your chipping. There's no team. I mean, it's all you. Affairs are your bad, my friend. Oh, yeah. It's not golf's fault. No. But it is a very self-centered sport. Yeah. It's probably society's fault. Yes. I don't think it's Tiger's fault. It wasn't his fault and his piece. It wasn't their fault. It was society. It was probably our fault. It was my fault. It was Mikey's fault. It was my fault. Yeah, I think so. We talked about it on the radio. It was all bad. All right, so the story that's happening in Escondido right now that's going on in Escondido with the bombs, the bomb squad, all that stuff. Our good friend Mark Summers over at Channel 6 has a reporter out there right now. Jeff. Yeah, Mark, and, you know, it is breaking right now. You said shut down in both directions. I have an update for you on that. The CHP just told me that they're going to shut down the southbound lanes only, and they're going to shut down the northbound lanes if necessary. But right now, according to the CHP, it's the very latest we have. They're going to shut down the southbound lanes between as we were.
We've been talking all morning El Norte to Center City Parkways. Why are they doing this? Well, there's been an investigation going on. A bomb squad is here. We're in Escondido. 54-year-old George Jacobic's home is about, oh, the bomb squad's going to go in in about two hours. Authorities say it's filled with explosive-making devices and could pose a threat to motorists, which is why they're shutting down the southbound now, only lanes of the 15. Yesterday, there was a gardener, Mario Garcia. He was cutting grass at Jacobic's home when he stepped on, apparently stepped on an explosive. Garcia was hurt in the blast. Authorities brought in a robot and checked the grounds in the night. 1900 block of Via Scott and they determined they needed to bring in the bomb squad. Two families have been evacuated. Jacobic, accused of making, of possessing and making destructive devices, has been arrested. And as we said now, the 15 southbound side will be shut down from El Norte to Center City Parkway from about 9 to noon. Of course, that timetable could change. But northbound lanes are going to be...
only if they need to be shut down. So that's the latest change, and that's what CHP has told us. Jan Caldwell, the spokesperson for the Sheriff's Department, has just arrived on scene, and we will get the latest information. We're live in Escondido. Jeff Powers, San Diego 6 News. It's just so weird what people are up to, and we don't know about it, you know? Dude, just sitting there in his house making explosives. Gardner just cutting the grass. Boom. Yeah, we definitely don't need heightened security at airports then. I mean, come on. Well, I think this just proves people could be doing anything, anywhere. Anytime. Hey, I want to mention our friend Jared, who is absolutely amazing. If you want any kind of graphic design done, he is by far the greatest at doing websites, doing your business cards. And you've heard me talk about him. We've turned Jared into a... mini-celebrity here on The Mikey Show just through talking about what he does. If you want to see it for yourself, go to createyourdesignonline.com. What's really cool about Jared is not just the amazing things that he's able to do, which really look like he can do stuff that looks like it's from Hollywood. That's what he does for your business card, for your whatever. Every time I see my business card, I'm like, it's amazing what he did.
If you want to have it done for yourself, it's affordable. And what's amazing about him is how fast he does it. He can turn things around for you so quickly. CreateYourDesignOnline.com Okay, so Chris Brown is the rapper that beat up Rihanna. They were dating. He beat her up. They were going to a party or something like that. They were going to a Grammy after party. And he beat her up. And he's been having to do... You know, he's been on probation. This was the judge that was presiding over the case. At thousands of probationers, no one has ever done a better or more consistent job than you have. And I really want to commend you for taking responsibility and for actually working diligently to complete all of the things that the court has required of you. How about that? Very good. The guy has done his job, and he's been in there, and he's done what he's supposed to do. Good for him. Listen, for me, anybody that turns their life around, I like a turn-a-life-around story. And until he's guilty of doing it again, then I commend the guy for trying to turn his life around. On the phone is M1 Douglas Griffith from Del Mar. Are you there, Douglas? Yeah, yeah. Douglas, you are the grand prize winner.
of a two-night stay at Aquarius Casino Resort in Laughlin and a $50 gift card. This is all worth $500. Let's hear it. Grand prize winner, buddy. What time are you picking up the kid, dude? This is going to be great, man. You also get to go to the Rage at the River off-road racing event that's happening on the 10th through the 12th of December. And Laughlin is right there on the Colorado River. They've got great restaurants pro and world-class entertainment. You're going to love it, dude. We're going to love it. Me and you. You've got to pick up woods. We're going to make it right. We've got 45 minutes out of Vegas there. Here you go, dude. Not bad. Hang on the line, okay? Thank you very much. Hang on just a second. 570-1949 is our number. You can give us a call if you want. And also, we're going to be doing my old Michael Shannon tapes here in just a minute. Jay's getting us all dialed in for that. Did we mention the...
the butt slap yesterday? Not yet. Not on the air at least. Sienna's butt slap? What? I want to discuss it now on the air because I'm way more comfortable discussing it on the air. You guys didn't even talk about it yesterday. Maybe the most badass move I've ever seen from a female in my life. I've seen women do things that I consider like, wow, that was pretty good. What Sienna did yesterday, we were going to, as a show, we go do a lunch. And we walked into a 7-Eleven and we're all standing in line. We got some munchies and stuff. We're all standing in line. And there is a brother standing in front of us. And he's a nice guy. Nice looking dude. L.O.B. L.O.B. loves her some black. He was a nice looking man. Yes, he was. Whatever color he was, I didn't pay attention. Did you not? She doesn't see color. He was a nice guy. She doesn't see color. She sees buns. True. Anyway, he was standing in front of us in line. And he had a piece of paper in his hand. He goes, he asked the girl at the counter for some directions. And she told him where this place was. He crumples up the piece of paper and he does an over the shoulder. A hook.
Like a hook shot. And lands it right in the trash. And we were like, whoa. If there could have been a five pointer, that would have been it. I was like, yeah, dude. Sienna goes. Without even really thinking. Stand up. I'm the guy. I'm right behind him. Sienna's right behind him. Crumples it up. Hook shot. Makes it. Sienna goes. Atta boy. Smacking him right on the back. I don't know what came over me, really. And by the way, Sienna, you slapped him way harder. Let's bring your butt over here. I'll do it. It was hard. She goes, Atta boy! Boom! It slaps him right in the butt. I was like, all of us were just kind of like not really paying attention to him, but we could see him in a peripheral vision, you know? And he does the shot and we all watch and he goes in and all of us were happy for him. But I was the closest one to him. And I don't know, it was like, wow! Atta boy!
She went for it. Amazing. Let me tell you something. And this dude turns around and he's like, yeah, what's up? And he high fives him. He was stoked too. I know. And I'm like, holy cow with what just happened. With what just happened. You guys like kind of laughed, but you didn't even really say anything. Mikey was like. Nervous laughter. I was just thinking in my head like, did I really just do that? It was fantastic. I've been meaning to ask you something since it happened. How was it? It was firm. It was nice. Just like mine. The thing that was amazing about it to me was... This dude did not skip a beat. No. For him, it was nothing. Probably happens all the time. A stranger slapped his butt hard and goes, and a boy! I pivoted backwards and high five. Yeah. I have a pretty good sense of reading people, and I knew this guy wouldn't mind. I'm glad that you have that sense, because had he not been in on that, could have gone south real quick. Like, if I had done it, for instance, yes, or me. Yeah, or if Woods had done it. I hope you wouldn't have done it. No, it's a sports thing. And a boy!
Any guy get mad at a girl, slap him, attaboy. It was phenomenal. I would love it. And if I, well, I can tell you this. If I didn't love it, I wouldn't say anything. I would pretend that I loved it. You would hate it. Mike, I would never attaboy you, even today. You're not an attaboyer. You could tell, right? You can just tell who's an attaboy and who's not an attaboy. I'm going to start doing Mikey. I do it. I slap Mikey on the butt. Woodsy does it all the time. When it comes to me, Woodsy has zero boundaries. He just doesn't care. When I first met him, I had known him maybe three weeks and he kissed me on my bald head. That's alright. That's nice. He put his arm around me and he goes... And I was like, oh, wow, I think he just kissed my head. Mikey Kiaz. Yeah, Mikey Kiaz. Mikey Kiaz. He called me Mikey Kiaz because at the time- This is so great. That was my email address. Yeah. And he thought my real name was Mikey Kiaz. His last name was- I thought it was Kiaz. Because I worked at the other station. And it's Kiaz. And it was K-I-O-Z. Yeah, so he thought, oh, his name is- it's Latino. And I said to him after, too, I was like-
You thought Kios was Latino? There was a Z in there. It was Texas. What's he know? Yeah, what do I know? And Mikey Kios. So from then on, it was Kios. Yeah, he called me Kios. I'm really relieved that you brought this up, Mike. Because I'm serious. I was thinking in my head, is that really weird that I did that? And you guys just kind of quietly laughed. It was so weird. I didn't think it was weird. I was like, she went for it. I went home and told my husband. And he was like, you did what? Yeah. Yeah. know he just seemed like a cool guy i let me tell you something let me tell you something my wife could never do that no she's not an attaboyer and i and i gotta tell you it takes a level of rocks to be able to attaboy a stranger i'm telling you i didn't even think about it like it just is there any is there any chicken here i'll attaboy all you guys in here if you want you you're there's a couple you're attaboys yeah you guys would attaboy Summer, I think Summer would. A few cocktails my missus would. You've done it? She's done it. And that's the difference in men and women. We do that, we go to jail. Yeah, we go to jail for assault.
Yeah. But some guy came up to me the other day and just went... I was like, whoa! Yeah, that was your husband. I'm just kidding. Holy cow. Yeah, right. It was me, actually. That'd be a dead guy. All right. Are you guys ready for some Michael Shannon tapes? Yes! Yeah. First, but before we do that, let's mention... Son of a... What is this man's name behind you? What's your name, sir? M1 Scargood. M1 Scargood. He heard Woods talk about how Woods... I said the other day, I go, listen. Yes. Have you ever... gotten a hamburger and it's got the paper wrapped around it and you accidentally bite a little bit of the paper. I said, it drives me batty. Wood says, I could care less about the paper. I would eat right through the paper. What is wrong with you, Wood? Do we have a video camera? We have Woods in here. I'll tape it. We have Woods in here right now and in front of him, he has a... He's spitting out his chew into a water bottle. Disgusting. That's filthy. Sometimes the kid does dumb stuff. This is one of them right here. Sometimes a kid can do dumb things. You ready? Am I doing this, really? This is really happening. Yeah, I'll tape you. Woods, you're going to need fangs to cut through that paper. I just ate four burritos. He's going to eat through the paper on a burger. I'm going to try to get the whole thing down. Oh, my gosh. Go ahead. Oh, there's the first bite. He's turning through the paper. Oh, my gosh.
I hope he didn't hurt himself. No, he'll be fine. Eating paper? No. Eating paper's okay? It hurts my throat to think about it. Do you have water? Are you okay? I just asked Woods how it was and he said, not bad. He's sitting there not even worried about it at all. Can you taste the burger? Yeah. He's washing it down with a little water. Wow. Imagine if somebody came here from Mars and that's how they thought that you ate it. He's eating? They might think that. Right through the paper. Second bite. What kind of burger is that? Jack in the Box. Oh, my gosh. Delicious. Woods, describe it. Tastes like a burger with paper on it. Is it good? I mean, can you really taste the paper? What are you doing with the paper? Are you getting it down to a fine pulp? Yeah. And swallowing? He doesn't even care. Like, he would do this every time he eats. Oh, my God. Man. I can't believe this. That does look like a goat. Your poor wife is listening right now like, what is he doing down? This is my husband's job. First he's a wizard, now he's eating paper. What's next? Everybody in here is like either taking pictures or... He's halfway through the burger. I'm full though. Yeah, a bunch of Mexican food. Hey dude, you're done. You're done.
You've proved yourself. He's just ate so much paper. I can finish it. No, Woods. Don't do it. You're going to get sick. I don't want you to get sick, dude. Finish it. I'm going to need more water. Jay's running to get you a water. You can have some of mine. It'd be like paper mache in his throat. Oh my gosh, Woods. Let me tell you something. I am constantly putting antibacterial in my hands. I have a wheatgrass shot every day. I don't like tomatoes. He doesn't like tomatoes. You have like one more bite left. The paper he'll eat. Yeah, I know. I wonder if you're going to see that on his way out. Oh, you know it is. We need to get pictures of that. The Jack in the Box. That's so disgusting. He's going to see Jack in the Box. By the way, we are two minutes, 22 seconds into Woods eating a hamburger with paper. It's good radio. Oh my gosh. Woods. You're like a dinosaur. Do you want your pickles? You don't have to, bro. Dude, I want to finish. I never finish what I start. There's literally two more bites. This means a lot to me. What's this like? Mike, let me finish, dude. P90X. I didn't finish. Okay? This is for all you people that give me grief about P90X. What did you say that one time you'd eat a whole box of Krispy Kreme donuts? Let's hear it for him. He did it. He ate all paper wrapped around it.
That is fantastic. Well done. Well done, my friend. You're something else. You are. I finished. I did it. I feel sick watching that. We did it! Hey, Adrian. I did it. Hey, Adrian. We did it. Different kind of hero. You are. There it is. All right. Post that video later. Yeah, I can upload it straight to YouTube. There we go. I just have to know my YouTube account. You mean to your tube. Yeah, I basically. As Jay would call it. Your tube. We'll find you. Your tube. All right, you ready for the... Upgrade it to your tube. Michael Shannon tapes. Michael Shannon. As soon as we come back, you're going to hear me about 20 years ago on the radio, obese. I was obese and... Oh, my. No, no, I was morbidly obese. I think it's the actual classification for it. And you just get that visual as you listen to the tapes. Woods just put it all down. Thank you. Good job, buddy. Let's make some noise in here. Great. Like, I can't believe we made him do that. He wanted to do it. He wanted to do it. Did I? Now, in case you missed. Force me.
Woods said that he can eat a burger with all the paper on it, which he just did. A whole burger, an entire burger. Yes, an entire burger, all the paper around it. Now, M1 Amy, who's in the studio, said, oh, by the way, I read an article last week saying that the papers are more toxic than the food itself. So I just looked it up. And it says that in the paper around burgers, there's synthetic chemicals that repel oil and keep grease from leaking through wrappers. And it can stick around long after your burger's gone. The chemical can leach into your food and then into your bloodstream where they can. It can flow for as long as four years. Kick ass. Great. Hey, Woods, think about it this way. By 2015, you're good. Yeah, I'm fine. Okay, so I got a question for LOB. First of all, I got to ask LOB because I discovered LOB on YouTube. I don't understand YouTube. Okay. But I've always wanted to do this. I have an iPhone, and you can record video on your iPhone. I just recorded Woods eating a burger through paper. Toxic burger, apparently. And one of the features of iPhone is that you can record a video and put it straight to YouTube. Okay, now, what is a tag? A tag is if you want people to look certain things up. Okay. But it can only be one word? No, there's multiple ones. You can put multiple? Mm-hmm. But, because I put a space to put Mikey show, but it only lets me put the word Mikey. Try putting a comma and no space. A comma and no space.
Oh, I like that. It's been a while. I haven't uploaded anything on YouTube for a long time. Yeah. Shame, shame. I don't feel very good. You're freaking out. Do you feel like you have toxic paper in your system? Yes. Weird. I feel like I have to cough a lot. I don't know why. It's always good for the radio. What is? Coughing. You're fine. Am I? Yeah, I think that you'll be fine. I think it'll take four years, but I think you'll be fine. Maybe I go to the bathroom and pull trigger real quick. I don't think you'll be able to pull that trigger that quick. It's already in your bloodstream. Yeah. Just consider yourself a goner. All right, you ready to do this? We have a few things to do. First of all, I want to thank M1 T. Marshall.
of Harley Davidson in San Diego, right? You guys hooked us up with some serious stuff. That's right. She came in and she brought all kinds of gifts for us. Brought some Yum Yum Donuts for Sienna. Love it. And Jay has been feasting on them just as much as Sienna. Oh, man. She brought Jay edamame. And I'm eating a little of that, too. That's right. Genius. She brought me a tortilla warmer. You just call it a warmer. And hand sanitizer, which I've already stolen. That's fantastic. It's a spit cup for me. Yep. Look at that. Oh, that is a nice spit cup. I got some Nag Champa incense. There you go. And we all have bandanas. Some of us are sporting. From Harley Davidson. And I got a Harley Davidson baseball cap. And an outfit for Sage. And she told us that San Diego Harley Davidson is going to let us go down there. learn how to ride bikes. We are going Harley! Yeah. All in. Tricia is the bomb. Thank you, Tricia. Yes, we'll have lots of stories about this, I'm sure. Yeah, we will. This is going to be awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Like, how lucky are we right now? Can we recap my day today? I was a wizard on Friars and Frazee. I did a rap song with EBW. Hey, what did you do today? Yeah. I ate a whole burger with paper, and I get to go ride Harley's at some point. That's right. How great is that?
Awesome. This is pretty good. I did not go to college, but most people in this, raise your hand if you went to college here in the room. Finish or not finish? You just went. I have never experienced the college experience and professors. But one thing that I do know is that they can get kind of boring. Some of these, depending on the professor, it can get kind of boring. Well, we do live in the age of YouTube and people catch every. thing that happens. And apparently in this particular professor's class you don't yawn. Because if you do yawn and he's having a bad day he might get a little upset about it. I've had that professor. You have? I've had that professor too. I sit right across from him every day. I don't like woods to yawn. That's the professor. Now mine is for a different reason. Mine is not for this guy's reason. This guy's reason is because he thinks that it's Am I boring you? Yeah, am I boring you? That kind of deal. And you can hear the yawn, by the way. So let's take a listen to this professor getting upset about it. Two of those would be a telegram. Nobody knows what a telegram is anymore because we don't use them. Who just did that? Oh, no. I think Woods was going, uh-huh. Did you do uh-huh? No. That was them. Was it? Woods, what are you doing? That wasn't me. Two of those.
would be a telegram, right? Nobody knows what a telegram is anymore because we don't use them. That was it. I heard the... That was the yawn. Why would you audibly yawn like that? Why would you do that? Because you're talking about telegrams. Hide it. Just hide it. Hide it. Hide it. Sometimes you can't. Loser! Shut up! Sounds like Chewbacca. No, I want to know. Stand up. Get. We'll stay here until either that person in the hall or the person sitting around them tells me who it is. LOP, what's going through your mind? I feel like I'm back in college. I was the honor. Really? Yep. Would they do this? Oh, yeah. Really? Oh, yeah. You don't have to have a small classroom, though. Woods, have you ever experienced that in a class? I will chokeslam that guy. Because it was audible, I think it kind of echoed. But I got in trouble one time for laughing at my friend wrote on a gum wrapper or something. And the professor was like, and Ms. O'Brien, would you like to share the answer with everyone? And I said, um...
I can't. And he said, why is that? And I said, because I wasn't paying attention. And that lit him up. Scolding a first grader. Here's the thing. You're in college. Yeah. I'm paying you. I don't even have to be here if I don't want to, you a-hole. Aren't I the customer? Yes. I'm the customer. Who was it? I'm so mad. Nobody knows? Let me tell you something, you guys. My bad side is as bad as my pleasant side is pleasant. Something tells me that his pleasant side isn't that pleasant. I'm irate. Somebody should have gone, and his pleasant side is pretty pleasant. I'm like scared and I'm not even in there. Right now I'm like, oh my gosh. I'm irate. I'm telling you, when these things have happened in my life, all I think in my head is, I'm not going to die.
Yeah, exactly. What are you going to do? I'm not going to die. I think I'm going to spontaneously combust. Not me. I always stand up and volunteer. Even if it wasn't me, I'll say, that was me. The guy's like, really? I'm like, might as well be. And he's like, ooh. If it were me, I would have stood up. I like to keep things informal in here as much as possible. Obviously. But understand where the difference between informal and impolite is. And I won't tolerate impolite. Okay, question, sir. You won't tolerate impolite, meaning that if impolite happens, what is the consequence? Because you said you won't allow it. You know, you won't tolerate it. So what's the consequence? Will you kill me? Kick you out. Oh, that's a real punishment. Because those statements are great. I will not tolerate impolite. Okay, but what does that mean? Right. What are you going to do about it? And I'm not saying that because I want to challenge him. I'm just saying, if you do say that, what do you mean? So, just so you know, if impolite happens again...
Somebody's getting punched in the nose. Heads are going to roll. You know what, man? That is not... I'm sorry, but that is not impolite. To yawn is not impolite. I'm sorry. To do it out loud, it is. It's not impolite. I think it's rude and impolite. To fart, that's impolite. If I was just standing up here doing EBW and someone in here went... What if they've been up all night taking care of their sick mother? It's still impolite. That's so weak. You don't think that's impolite? No. I don't think it's impolite enough. To stop down an entire class. I want to give you my rap on what I think about him when it's done. But first, he keeps going. If I hear one more of these overly loud yawns, get up and walk the hell out. Oh, wow. Oh, no. Yawn outside. Stay out of class. Whatever it is you need to do to get over it. I want to know why 220 other people in this room don't find the need to do that. Excuse me, sir. I don't mean to interrupt. I took roll call today. There's only 270. And you should be asking yourself, why am I the one loser that has to do that? And 220 other people know better. What? Don't push me to this point again. You're a D. That guy needs to get some. That guy needs to get a life.
By the way, I want to point something out. What do most abusive men say when they abuse someone? You made me do this. Don't push me. Yeah. Push me to this. It's your fault. I didn't do it. You, yeah. My behavior is your fault. It isn't mine. I think that this guy sounds like someone who got pushed around his whole life, and he gets a tiny little... taste of power. And he's like, I'm tough. And I can freak out. It's like the bouncer. Yeah, the bouncer. Door man. By the way, if somebody wants to anonymously tell me who it is, please do. Oh yeah, we're in fourth grade. It was that guy right there. Who's that guy that stands up and tattles? It's with the tirade and the yawning. Yeah, well, listen. I do think that yawning... is rude. It's impolite. It's impolite. I think it's rude. It's impolite. But that's a completely irrational reaction to it, in my opinion. I would have just gone. I would have gone, sorry, man. That was me. My bad. Yeah, me too. Really tires up late studying. Sorry. That was an overreaction. Maybe it was the guy who was recording it was like, hey, watch this. See if I can get him to freak out. How much fun would it be to just have a recorder, let me yawn, and you just keep playing it?
Nobody's really on it. Who is that? Who was that? That guy's a clown. Hey, is there rules against it? Like, can you do that if you're a professor? I guess it's okay, right? You can. I mean, keep people out of your class. Yeah, I told you. A priest accused me of cheating. I told him to go up. Oh, please. I didn't do it. He pushed me to that. He pushed me to that. He pushed me to that. It was his fault, right? It was his fault. He accused me of doing something I didn't do. Yeah, but that means the reaction. Well, then he got in my face and pointed his finger in my face. Oh, well, then definitely. Yeah, you don't point your finger in my face. I'm paying you. Actually, I'm not. My parents are paying you. Are you justifying? Yes. You just said that he was wrong. He was wrong. Well, how come you weren't wrong? I wasn't wrong because I didn't do anything wrong to get called out in front of my whole class. I didn't cheat. I wasn't cheating. No, I cheated before, but I wasn't cheating. At that time that he said I was cheating, I wasn't cheating. At that time. That's what made me mad. There you go. Get me, get me. That's some pretty crazy audio, isn't it? That is nuts. You think that guy should be, like, disciplined? No? Yeah, that's what I was saying. Can you do that? I don't think, no. I mean, I don't know. I don't think he can be further disciplined, but I think that the professor reserves the right to ask people to leave if he thinks he has fair ground. How about this? Hey, man, did you just yawn? You did? Hit the road, buddy. Come back tomorrow when you're rested. That's it. You don't need to go on the tirade.
I wouldn't even do that. I probably wouldn't either. Turn around. Sorry for boring you. I'd be like, am I boring you? Let me tell you. I've been up doing my, this was great, man. I'm trying to think of where it was. I can't remember where it was, but I was doing my, you know, I do my testimony on the weekends. I'm doing my testimony. I mean, it's packed house. Okay. I think I told you guys about it. It's packed house. And I'm doing my testimony. I mean, during my testimony, I talk about some heavy. heavy stuff right and i and as i'm doing i look out in the audience and there's a woman asleep i mean i mean she's sawing logs on her husband's shoulder and when i first saw it i went oh boy you know in my head thought oh boy like wow that's really crazy i mean i've seen some wacky stuff uh and i obviously i didn't make any mention of it i just keep going and About 10 minutes later, I look over, and she's awake now. No joke. He's sleeping on her shoulder. Taking shifts. Yeah, they were working shifts. I'm like, is this Vietnam? And you're like, one of you guys sleeps while the other one patrols, and then the other one wakes up. That would be hard to keep going. I would laugh. But listen, I got a friend that's a pastor. He says every Sunday, he calls them sleepers.
He says every Sunday. Sleepers. They're asleep. They're dead asleep. Completely asleep. I would fall asleep in class, and I would try to pinch myself with my nails. I would go like that with my eyes. They hold your eyes open? Yeah, I would do everything, but sometimes... How about the crazy jerk awake off your desk? If you just lay your head down, you're on the... I'd kick my boot bag. What? The drool bit. Wake up and drool off your face. Everybody laughing at you? Yep. All right. You guys ready for the Michael Shannon tapes? Yes. All right, let's do the Michael Shannon tapes. This was me 20 years ago in radio, and this is who I'll find out. It's the best thing in the world. I'm playing it. I don't know what's up. I'm going to come see. All right. You hit a button. There's a. I don't know. Riveting. Michael Shannon. Do I have something not pressed right? There's nothing on the tape that you're playing. There's no tape in there. Thank you. We've been trying to play a tape, which was not even in there. But as soon as I put the tape in, it'll play. There's gold on that tape. Just trust us. Did you freak out? I did. That is awesome. That is awesome. Jay's looking at wires and stuff like that. I swear to God. I plugged everything in. All the buttons are pushed. Don't kill me. All right, here we go. It's almost like having a crazy hour here. Oh, I know why. I know why.
Here we go. Mike! Here we go. Reach out. I'll be there. It's 50 minutes past the hour. It's Mike Esparza and the greatest music around coming up on your favorite radio station next with Patti Smythe. Hear me run out of breath. Hear Patti run out of breath. On your favorite radio station. It's called No Mistakes and Michael Jackson will do Heal the World. Right now it's time for Mike Sedoni in the NSE Entertainment Review. I guarantee. I know this for a fact. As I said that, I had a meatball sub. Every night. Every night. Next to me on that console. And on your shirt. And on my shirt. And in your beard. There was no beard at that time. It was a clean, shaven, very round. pie-shaped face. A big moon. I was like a block of cheddar cheese. Sweet little cherub. ...of today's hits and yesterday's favorites. It's K-Wade, 97 FM, and John Sakata. His latest song is called Angel.
We also heard from England Dan and John Ford Coley in 1976. Have I already played this? No. It's the greatest. Do you wonder also in there? Michael McDonald, Gloria Stefan, and Always Tomorrow. Oh, my gosh. Oh, so good. Isn't it these golden artists? Who else? Who else? Who else? Heard Dionne Warwick. And we started that 30-minute continuous music wave with Les Talk with the Commodores and Lady. Commodores? What year was this? What year was this? 76. No, this was 93. It was 93. It was a senior in high school. I was eight. I was eight years old. Holy cow. D cup at eight. Galloping real good. Our nanny said the other day, I was born in 1984. I was like, I was a freshman in high school. I wasn't born yet. You weren't born. Oh, boy. Oh, boy. How about that smile? I see it out of one corner of his face. Very smarmy. Hey, John, call in. I just got a text from my friend John. He lives here in San Diego. He's a producer at KGTV. He was...
He ran the board. Oh, no way. Rad. He ran the board. Rad. Call in, John. Call 373-1839 today and register. It's the Sea Otter Classic, sponsored by Adventures by the Sea Otter. Here we go. Oh, get it. Get out of my dreams. Get out of my dreams. Get that hot, fresh sub into my mouth. Yeah, absolutely. I'm attracted to the film, the body. Oh, yeah. Turn it on. Turn it on. Turn it up. From now on, you don't get control. We're going to have to handcuff you. Why don't you come and run it? Go, Woods. 570. Our number is 570. 1-94-9. But you said Micah...
That the man grabbed the leaflet from the hotel lobby in Warm Minster. That's the town that he was in. Are you reading Mike? Of course. When they arrived, they said he was strategically clutching the application. You know where. Oh, God. Where the sun don't shine. His hands are over his face right now. Can't even listen. 1969, year for the Beatles. This is something. Guy hits the post real good. What's that? Yeah, these are like long breaks. I want to hear. Hello. He just popped into the game. This is what I want. We are KWSS.
94.5. Like, peek your hands off your face. It'll be okay. You know, the Parent Center 24-hour hotline provides support and counseling to help parents cope with the stress and reduce the risk of childhood. Oh, that's smoky. If you'd like that number again, feel free to give us a call here at KWSS. You're good, Mike. Oh, thank you. Thank you. We need a break. Thank you. We have to break. We do have to break. We have to break. You're good though. You're just a little old school. KWSS 94.5. KWSS 94.5. Mike Esparza 149. You got something on your mind? Give me a call. 575 KWSS. Here's Depeche Mode. That's mortifying. Oh. Yes. Oh, my God. Hold on. Again. Hold on. One more time. Love me like a bomb. Love me like a bomb. Isolate that. Isolate that. Love me like a bomb. Come on, baby. Way to hit that post. Amazing.
Oh, gosh. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. You're a hero. I hate doing that. I hate doing that. It's over for the week, and then we'll pick it up again next week. We'll talk to John. He was the engineer. He was the guy that used to run the board for Obese Mikey. Get him on next. Once a day, pal. I know it. I know it. So, welcome back. Thank you so much to Lolita's Taco Shop who brought in the food today. Really delicious stuff. And they got locations throughout San Diego and Chula Vista, San Diego and Bonita and downtown. Really, really good stuff. So on the phone right now is a friend of mine, John. And John actually ran the board at one time for me. John, are you there? Hello, Mikey, my friend. How are you, darling? How you doing? How you doing, dude?
Hey, just real quick, before we even get into it, let me just say one thing. Go ahead. This is the best friggin' radio show that I've ever listened to in my entire friggin' life. That is great. I like this guy. He's awesome. You can call in every morning. That's a friggin' genius. John is great. I mean, this guy, he is great. Mikey, Mike, honest to God, I listen to that thing that you used to do, and whatever, baby, this group you put together right now. Oh my gosh, I have to wear a diaper on my way. That's not our fault. That's awesome. I love you. So, John. I love you. John. Sounds like my kind of guy. John was there back in the day, 1991, 92. Oh my gosh. I know, I know. Let me just set the scene for everybody. Here comes a guy. He looks like a fat Steven Perry. Oh, my God. Don't hold that. He's got this straight, long hair and mustache. And let me tell you about the mustache. You can count the numbers of hairs coming up. Oh, my God. He would come in, you know. He would come in, and we'd be getting ready for the show, and he'd look at me. He had this little friend with him. He'd come in, and he'd say, hey, hey, hey, JR. He said,
Let me talk into some songs. Let me practice. Let me talk into some songs. And I'd say, what are you talking about? Talking to some songs. You play the song. I know how long before the guy sings. I'll practice. And honest to God, I'm like, okay, weirdo. And we used to do that for like a half hour. But let me tell you something. Nobody better in the business right there. That's what the pros do. That's what pros do. You know, Derek Jeter takes ground balls before a game, pal. He doesn't just go out there cold. Oh, my gosh. He was great. And here's the other thing about him back in the day, because listen, he may be disparaging about himself now, but the guys, Mikey, you're the greatest, dude. Back then, you would not find him without something in a styrofoam box. Absolutely. Absolutely. To go food? I had food all the time. All the time. Mikey, do you remember your white pickup truck, by the way? Yes. Okay, so he had this white pickup truck, and this was the talk. He had, like, two gears. One was Van Halen. The other one was the white pickup truck. If he wasn't talking about Van Halen, it was, I'm going to put speakers in my truck. To this day, I still don't know what you meant. I put, you know, well, it was a Mexican thing. I had to have lots of bump.
in the truck. Of course. And so that was like my goal. For your Wilson Phillips when you would drive home and listen to Wilson Phillips. That is true. That is true. And that's what we played, by the way. When I worked with John, we played Wilson Phillips stuff. It was awful. Oh, it was hideous. Hey, John, can I ask you a question? By the way, I love you. I feel like you're my brother. Thank you, dude. Any girls ever around sniffing around? Girls? Absolutely not. Mike, I love you. Mikey has always been this guy that when he walked into the room, had so much talent that he'd fill it. Literally, fill it. I mean, it wasn't like, you know, you'd be like, oh, that guy needs a girl because he was just, you always automatically assume that he had a tribe of girls running behind him because of the talented guy. You thought, oh, he doesn't need a girl. He needs a personal trainer. He needs a Stairmaster. It wasn't that bad, baby. You're the man. You're the man. Thank you, John. Is John from New Jersey? No, he's East Coast. He is full East Coast, man. But he moved out here. That's LLB. Yeah, you from New Jersey? No.
I grew up in a little hamlet called Rochester, New York. Oh, yeah. That's right. That's the accent you're hearing. But, I mean, you know. Let me just tell you something, I will be. Okay. You're the greatest. Okay, right now? So are you. I'm just telling you right now. That's right. Just full of compliments. No, just kidding. What do you think about Sienna's boobs? Have you seen them? Hey, all I got to say is who doesn't love her boobs? No, no question. Nobody. My husband right now is like, really? Really? Well, that's because you have big jobs. By the way, shameless plug. I've got the entire newsroom over at KGTV saying one word, and it's, really? That's great. That's great. He is a producer now over at KGTV, and he's always been very talented. His name is JR. Good friend of mine. Known him for 20-some years. That's awesome. Hey, dude. It was good talking to you. Thanks for calling in, dude. Mikey, you're an inspiration, baby. I honestly got it. I mean that sincerely. I love you. San Diego's got themselves a gem. Thank you, man. Thank you, dude. What a positive guy. Maybe he just comes in and does a pep talk for us. You can call in every morning, 558. We'll be expecting you to come and pump us up before the show. Thank you, JR. Love you guys so much. Thank you. He's a good dude. Let me tell you, I've known this guy for 20-some years. He is always at that energy level. That's killer.
produces the new show, he's just like, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. You know, he calls stuff off for cameras and stuff like that. Let's go to this shot. Let's go to this shot. He's just got a brain that moves really fast. I want some of that. So let's see. He's Caucasian. I meant energy. We know what you meant. New movies. We got new movies coming out. We know, obviously, about Harry Potter. What's that? Harry Potter! Yeah, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 is out, came out last night at midnight, and the Part 2, which is the second part of the last book, the seventh book, comes out in July. So they're done filming it, all the actors and stuff, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, they're done. Yeah. Which explains why Emma Watson now has a little boy haircut. Pixie haircut. I haven't seen one of those movies. Also out today, the other big one is The Next Three Days with Russell Crowe, Elizabeth Banks, Liam Neeson, Olivia Wilde. What is it? A movie. It's got Russell Crowe. It's like a murder. No, I saw the preview once and I said, ooh, we gotta see this. Murder movie.
Is that it? Yeah. All right. There you go. 570-1949 is our number if you want to give us a call. When we come back, we'll give you a game preview. Monday Night Football is the Chargers versus the Denver Broncos right here at home. And yesterday, Ryan Matthews, we did a photo shoot with Ryan Matthews for BeDifferentPact.com. That's so cool. Where he put on one of the Be Different wristbands and a very cool time. Great kid, man. Ryan Matthews, great kid. After this. Let's make some noise in here on a Friday with a live studio audience. We have a big weekend. And one of the things that we got going on this weekend is on Monday night. Chargers, Broncos. Yeah. Right here in San Diego. This one should be called the Mirror Bowl.
The Broncos and Chargers are mirror images of each other, both looking to get back into the AFC West race and willing to throw on nearly every down to do it. The headliner of this game is San Diego's Phillip Rivers, a candidate for the league's most valuable player award. He's on pace to throw for over 5,000 yards this season, despite playing with a depleted receiving core, and will likely continue to air it out against Denver's 25th ranked defense. The big question mark for the Chargers offense is the status of tight end Antonio Gates. If Gates can play through a foot injury, the Broncos will face one of the best over-the-middle targets in the NFL. Rivers leads the NFL in passing yards, but Denver's Kyle Orton is not far behind, ranking second in that category by averaging over 311 yards per game. His favorite target thus far has been Brandon Lloyd, who has developed into one of the game's best deep threats. Lloyd there, Lloyd makes the...
And he's got a 10-foot touchdown. I couldn't see, so I wanted to put a little bit, you know, let you go. Yeah, no doubt. The Broncos are not as strong offensively on the ground. But to keep Rivers off the field, they'll likely try to establish the run with no Sean Moreno. Moreno is coming off his best game of the year, rushing for over 100 yards against the Chiefs. He'll try to match those numbers against San Diego's second-ranked D. Ambition is the critical factor here. A victory for either side means a great deal in the division standings. But for the Broncos, a win on the road in San Diego will likely be necessary to keep them alive in the AFC West race. Yeah, it will. It's going to be awesome, man. I cannot wait for Monday night. Oh, man. Come on. Just beat up on them. Yep. I hope we do. Was out there yesterday, like I said, to do the photo shoot with Ryan Matthews. Really, really nice kid. So gracious. So cool.
Saw the presser with Phillip Rivers while I was there, which was really cool. Saw AJ out on the balcony watching the guys practice. Steven Cooper was doing his thing. Saw Nate Kading. He had just finished doing his thing, and he was taking off. Saw Norv. It was a really cool day out there. I saw Annie, who comes in and does a report on the show every once in a while. Smells terrific. Smells terrific? Smells terrific. Reports terrifically. Reports terrifically. So it was a good day out there. We'll get those pictures of Ryan Matthews up on BeDifferentPact.com really soon. If you want to be a part of that, that is a pact of kindness. It's a pact of being different, of making the conscious decision by seeing a black wristband on your wrist. that says, you know what, I'm not going to be a D. I'm not going to be a jerk. I'm not going to respond how I want to respond. I'm going to respond in a way that's cooler than that. For guys like me, it really helps. Yeah, and Wood said that it actually has. I'm telling you guys, there have been so many instances over the last couple weeks where I wanted...
To flip out. And I wanted to, you know, whether it be some, you know, Sally writing something on Facebook and then running away. Or, you know, something like that. Or somebody talking about my wife on Twitter or something like that. And I want to rip somebody's head off. But I don't. Yeah. I'm trying. It's working. I had a moment the other night in the car. God, man, I want a blood transfusion. Seriously. I swear to God, the energy level. I consider myself high energy. Guy's got some energy, man. I can't hold a candle to that. And let me tell you, he's always, always got that level of excitement. How old is he? He's my age, so he's about 40. I'm 43, yeah. Yeah, but the dude has just always got energy. Very high energy guy. You know, I just wanted to throw something out because it's something I've wanted to say a long time. Dude, you got like radio genius. There is something about you. Oh, man. Thank you, bro. You know, you're magnetic. Thank you, dude. Thank you very much. I've listened to Rock 102 for a long, long time. That was back in the day when it was still Rock 102. That's when you were giving me my Metallica fix all the time. That's right. Yeah, I called in way back then. Yeah, dude. We used to answer the phone, 102. That's when you were Surfer Mikey? Yeah, that's when I was Surfer Mikey. I love how you just kind of like wear yourself on your sleeves and you throw all that stuff. Michael Shannon stuff out there. It's so great. Thank you, bro. Thank you very much. All of you, L.O.B., your sense of humor, amazing. Oh, thank you. I'm so pumped that the internet's down because I wanted to see how things look since the milk came in. I was like, he's going towards the boobs. I can feel it. Yeah, I know. Now, after Jay's call in yesterday, I think I'm going to change my name to M1 Not Crazy, Chris. There you go. I've been hearing about that everywhere.
I think I need to redefine myself. I know it. I know it. He hasn't gone back down the street. Maybe he's being different. There you go. Of all you guys, keep it up, man. Mikey, you rock. Thank you, Chris. We appreciate it, bro. You got it, man. L.O.B. actually has a show tonight, right? Yeah, I almost forgot. Yeah. Weird. I can't believe that. So weird, L.O.B. Yes, the room is called Doc's Saloon, and it's actually at Joey's Smokin' Barbecue in Carlsbad. Sweet. It's on El Camino. What time? Eight o'clock. There you go. M1 Bassman from San Diego. Hey, hi, Mikey. How you doing? Good, man. What's up? First of all, I want to say I love your show, and I'm glad you guys are back. Thank you. I want to invite everybody, anyone and everyone, this Sunday at 5 p.m. at Sweetwater High School, we're going to have a community dinner for anyone who wants to come and just have dinner. We're just aiming for homeless and people in need. Actually, it's open for anyone. There's going to be live entertainment.
You know, it's just a time of fun and fellowship. That's awesome. Yeah, so if anyone wants to come along, you know, and just have a dinner, or even if they want to donate a turkey or anything, you know, we're more than happy to accept anything. Hey, thank you, Baseman. We appreciate that. Thank you, Mikey. Thank you. Love your show. Thank you. End of the show on Friday. I tell you my testimony. Testimony is basically just my story. And this is a big part of the reason that I'm on the radio is so that I can be able to share this with you. You know, the biggest part of my story is that I used to feel one way and now I feel different. And the other biggest part of my story is that I used to be one way and now I'm different. That's the biggest part of my story that I can tell you about. You know, when I was five years old, I was sexually abused. That is embarrassing, man. It's embarrassing to tell you. And there's a lot of shame involved when I tell you that. Every time I do it, it's like my hands start sweating. As I got older, I got meaner. And by the time I was in my late 20s, I was a really angry dude. You've heard me say on the radio before that anger is hurt, sadness, and fear. I had a lot of that in me.
A lot of anger issues. What happened was is, you know, that guy Chris just called. He said he's been a listener since the 102 days when I used to be on at night. What I can tell you about me was that I used to hurt people with my words. In fact, even still today, I have to be careful because you don't have to yell to hurt someone. And so even today. I have to be cognizant of that. But back in the day, I was evil. I was evil. I hurt a lot of people. I took advantage of a lot of people. I purposefully inflicted pain through my words, through my actions. I was selfish. I was self-centered. I was self-absorbed. I was manipulative. I was a liar, and I was a cheat. There was justice, though, because I, uh,
I became addicted to alcohol and drugs. Outwardly what people saw was a guy that they thought was a real tough guy. Tattoos. Tattoos were a sham. Tattoos were just there to cover up an insecure dude. A zero. A guy that just hated myself. That's what you'd see on the outside. On the inside what you didn't see is a guy sitting alone in his house or his apartment. I was crying because nobody knew. Nobody could see it, so I could do that privately. Turn the phone off, close the blinds, and I would sit there and I would do that until in the year 2003, I asked Jesus Christ to enter my life, and he did. And he changed me. He changed me into somebody that genuinely wants to help other people and make a difference in the world. I couldn't do that on my own before. I had no desire to do that.
Every motivation was selfish. The biggest proof that I can have to you of the existence of God is what he did in my life. He changed me. And I tell you this because I know that there are people that are listening right now that are suffering just like I was. They're addicted to stuff. Or maybe you're going through a divorce and you're just worn out. You feel hopeless. Maybe you've just lost a baby. You've lost a good friend. Maybe you're going through something that just is so painful or maybe you have secrets that nobody knows. Go to Mikey show.com and on the top of the page, there's the word help. And if you click on that word, there's resources for you. If you're addicted or you're going through depression or you have eating disorders, all of which I've had in my life because I was trying to fill a God shaped hole in my life with everything but God. If you find yourself angry right now, what's your hurt? What's your sadness?
What's your fear? I love you, man. At the end of the show, I play a song that hopefully the lyrics, there's something in these lyrics, something that you can relate to. The song is called Pieces by Red. And what this song means, possibly to a lot of you listening, is exactly where you are in your life right now. Jesus doesn't have a website, but my church does, and I go to a great one. It's northcoastchurch.com. Lovely and talented Hillary is up next. Have a great weekend and we'll see you back here again on Monday. Mike shows out late.
